Best Western Of Walterboro

It's the little things that kept me from giving this hotel 3 stars. When you walk in the room has a dusty smell to it, then you look around and see thick dirt coming out of the air conditioner vents, a carpet that looks like it wasn't cleaned in years, a long bathroom mirror that has a film on it, walls and doors scraped up and miscolored. There is a new TV but they are so cheap with their bandwidth all their channels are heavily pixilated. On a positive side, front desk girl awesome, clean bed and linens.

I've stayed here at least 4 times in the past couple years. It's my go to hotel for part of for my drives from western NY to Placida FL. It's safe. I had computer monitors & laptops in my car, visible to others, but knew my car was safe. If you need a room on the ground level, ask for that during reservations. If you or your travel partners have trouble walking, ask for a room facing out to the parking lot, 1st floor. Or if you prefer a pool view room, that's an option for those with normal mobility.

Not much on the area for choices to stay so it will cost a lot for typical worn motel room Musty. Ratty small scratchy towels. Mildew in bathroom and a very sticky remote control. Wasn't many options for breakfast. Waffles, packaged donuts, dry toast, bagels( no cream cheese) , cereal. Other than that nice front desk and staff. Good hot coffee. Comfortable bed. Maybe that's anyone needs.

The room we had was clean, nice and great. I know some of her reviews have negative reviews like bedbug issues, cockroach's, etc. We did not experience any of that on our trip. Check in was easy and they were very kind. Very convenient stay right off 95. We would stay again.

We stayed in a smoking, pet friendly room, so are expectations were not very high. We've stayed in that room at least eight times over the years. There were several small things wrong with the room that could be fixed, but would require substantial investment. The carpet is due for replacement. Clean,but worn in spots. Crack in the sink. Not leaking nor affecting its functioning, but unattractive. Furniture starting to show wear. But for under $99.00 a night, it was acceptable. Most stays the breakfast we better than average. We're staying there on the way home.

We were looking to split up our trip to Florida from NY and found the perfect place in this Best Western in Walterboro. After driving 13 hours, it offered a comfy, decent sized room with a good shower and a great bed. Dining options were many and nearby, some within walking distance. We will be back!

Arrived fairly early for our confirmed reservation ( traveling with r dog) . Assigned a room on the inside court . Asked to have a room where we could drive up to the door. Was informed there were no rooms available, because others checking in had already requested their rooms. That meant at least 20 . After setting up in the room the TV remote was not working went to front desk again to ask for another or just batteries was told there was nothing she could do. My overall feeling is if u don't like your job or have no interest in what u r doing maybe find something else. A little smile could go along way to everyone even the clerk as well. Needless to say we will not be returning . Are last visit was so much better.

Great stop on way from Michigan to Florida.Hotel right off Highway and restaurant next to hotel. Iam not a great sleeper but this was as good as I get. Front desk staff were very friendly and breakfast was hot.

My wife and I stay here regularly on our travels to and from Florida due to its location and close to I95. We find the rooms to be clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast has good selection of hot items.

We have stayed at this hotel for years coming down to FL. It has seriously gone down hill. The staff is nice and friendly. The location is great. Close to the highway and various amenities. The room smelled like someone sprayed room spray to mask the smell of a musty carpet. The carpet is so old and disgusting. The sheets were ripped and old with hair on them. The mattress was soft in spots. The toilet seat looked melted in spots and yellow. Really disgusting. Dead bugs in bathroom. At the minimum replace the carpet, buy a new toilet seat, mattress, sheets and clean it.

Unfortunately when traveling from Florida to VA you have few places to choose to stay if traveling with a pet. There were few options.The fees are for pets at other establishments are ridiculous, BW was reasonable.

It was a very clean room. It was odor free. The bed and pillow were very comfortable. Breakfast team and sausage and gravy was top notch! We will return here in the near future. My only suggestion is to replace the carpet with hard flooring and to have the cleaning personnel test heat/AC at each cleaning.

This Best Western is very clean, quiet, and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again. The staff were personable especially the man that was taking care of the breakfast area. We would stay here again.

The first thing we noticed was the smell. Dank and musty. The hotel is old and outdated, but it doesn't have to be dirty. Vacuum and deep clean the carpets. Dust. And most importantly clean the bathroom floor. Nastiest Best Western I've ever encountered. Use some bleach!

I was overcharged for the pet fee. The online system says it's $15...they charge more than that and claim "the system" won't let them reduce the fee. The clerk was very grumpy and seemed annoyed when I asked her to correct the pricing discrepancy. The room had old carpeting with a musty smell that no amount of Febreeze can cover. Breakfast was great. The grounds are well lit and the are security cameras where needed.

This is an older facility but very clean and very well maintained. We were completely happy with the room and the customer service was exceptional. Breakfast was great with a very helpful attendant. The front desk service was great. Family run hotel with emphasis on customer service. Wish we could have stayed longer than two nights!

Rooms need updated. Room was not very clean and bathroom smelled of urine before we even used it! Maintenance seems to be last priority with this property. Breakfast was just ok...nothing great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Served its purpose for a.quick 1 night stay.

The Best Western of Walterboro, SC is not fancy, but good for an overnight stay if you are traveling on I-95. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. This hotel is pet friendly. There is a nice grassy area for walking your dog. The breakfast buffet was nice, with hot and cold selections, including waffles and grits. Checking in and out of the hotel was quick and efficient. There are several restaurants close to this Best Western, including Ruby Tuesday and Cracker Barrel. We were disappointed that the pool was closed the night we were there.

Room was ok until you entered the bathroom. Water damage was very obvious and there were signs of mold and the bathroom fixtures were loose. It just felt dirty. You really do get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

You will be charged on your credit card even on free nights, and good luck getting refund. Instead you just wait days while traveling for the authorization to fall off even though they claim to refund the charges

A nicer older pet friendly hotel, easy access from the interstate. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly, had a problem with the remote for the tv, maintenance was there promptly and took care of the problem. Breakfast was good, a nice selection of breakfast items.

The location is good for our travels up and down Rt 95 but we might look for another hotel for our trips. Room is small but clean. Mattress was okay. However, the water barely trickled out at the sink and I actually washed my hands using the bathtub faucet. Brushing teeth was a chore. The sheets and towels are threadbare. The tv was all messed up. We finally got it turned on with very little sound but had to unplug it to get it off. The ‘saving grace' is that the people there are so nice! Breakfast was typical, nothing special. And I told them at checkout about the tv and water problem and they said they would get it fixed. We do like the location because of the ease of going into Walterboro for dinner at Carmine's!

I needed a warm, clean, affordable place to stay for a weekend - and this worked. However, I woke up on my last morning and while sitting in the bed reading on my phone, a bedbug crawled out of the sheets. I squished the fellow, and he was full of blood. I only saw one and wasn't bitten all over, but had to strip down and put everything in the dryer on high heat when I got home. I also threw out my suitcase. Staff indicated they were going to shut the room (105) down, or take it out of service.

Staff was exceptional. Breakfast was good. Easy check in and rooms were nice and clean. Wi-Fi was the best I've had at any hotel I've stayed in. I would not hesitate to book again when I'm back in the area.

My wife and I selected this hotel on our travels to Florida winter vacation. It is close to I95 and the rooms are clean and tidy as well as offering a good hot breakfast with a variety of selections. We plan to stay here again on our travels.

The heat did not work at all and the room was freezing. We had already been moved because the key pad wouldn't work and didn't want to change again. The sheets looked dirty and there was a large object in the bathroom that looked like bread or something. I do not recommend!

I would not go to this hotel due to an experience with BEDBUGS that we had on a recent stay. This was December 30,31, 2022. Unfortunately, my husband and daughter did not notice this until the morning of January 1, 2023. Happy New Year, right? My daughter saw and found them in the bed! Upon telling the manager his lack of concern was appalling , not concerned at all. Upon speaking to a maid she said she had seen bedbugs in this hotel many times, so there you go. I called and reported this to Best Western Customer Service . They said the manager said there were no bedbugs so in other words case closed. I told them I had photos of my daughters bites but I guess that didn't matter. We will never stay there again and I urge you to look elsewhere unless you want to chance bedbugs. If you want bedbugs and an uncaring staff then this is the hotel for you. We will never return!

We have not been to a Best Western for a long time, but what the heck – Giving this establishment a 3.9. Room is much smaller than what we have experienced over the last few days. Room is clean and well maintained for this dated establishment. We noted there are 9 different chain hotels at this exit of HW 95. Had dinner at Ruby Tuesday next to the Best Western which is a typical chain restaurant; the food was OK, but the environment was hurting!

The Front desk associate was very nice. The room was priced right for the stay. TV Remote - Clean the TV Remote with alcohol wipes - Really dirty. The clock was nasty between the beds too. Base of Lamp by the window was very dirty. The TV was less than par - room was dated. Cancellation Privileges ended 24 hours before checkin. Being on the road ,I don't like this.

It was a decent place to stop on our road trip. Good Location. Other restaurants and motels nearby. Appears to be a safe location right off the I-95. It was reasonably priced and staff was friendly. Also did not hear any traffic noises from highway.

Check in was very smooth and staff very friendly! Room was extremely damp and no ventilation in the bathroom. Felt like I was sleeping in damp bedding. Floors were damp and mold on shower curtain. Clean besides that. Would not return to this location specifically because of the dampness, especially for the price.

This was a very safe hotel. The hotel was clean and sanitized. The beds were very comfortable for an enjoyable night sleep. The breakfast in the morning was delightful and tasty. Very easy check in and staff friendly

Good HOt water and working refrigerator and freezer. Poor check in with a reservation,odor in room, only two towels in room, and poor quality breakfast. The buffet ran out of half and half and sausages(at 7AM) and the round eggs were hard and tasteless.

Very clean & cozy. We stayed here just one night & found it fresh, clean, new rug, all fixtures worked perfectly, beds had lots of pillows & the bed was quite comfortable. Bruce, at the front desk, was super. We called last night & were there within 10 minutes, to find that Bruce had our paperwork ready. Those of us with pets had no problems whatsoever. It was quiet & a nice little tree-shaded area to walk our dog for easy access. In the morning they had a wonderful hot breakfast & everything was fresh. Not your yucky continental breakfast. Even the coffee they made was nice & strong & fresh biscuits, too! Thank you for having a good, clean, friendly & comforting place for regular folks to stay. We were pleased.

One of the worst hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. We stayed here because we traveled with our dog. Rug was shredded in many places by previous inhabitants. The bed skirt was also eaten within an inch of its life. My dog found a sleep mask and a pair of sunglasses within the first couple of minutes of being in the room. Do not ever stay in a pet room here!

We stayed at this hotel on the night of August 30th, and to say it was horrible would be an understatement. There were roaches everywhere, roach eggs and poop out in the open. As we all know, if one sees them like that, it's an infestation. The towels were dirty/stained as if they hadn't been changed in the last few guests, and the general cleanliness of the hotel was completely sub-standard. Upon check out, my wife left her wallet in the room, which we discovered a few hours up the road. We immediately called the front desk, and it was there. The lady my wife spoke to verified that the $400 in cash was still in there, and immediately packaged up the wallet to be mailed via a popular parcel delivery service. My wife had created the label like she was instructed to do as well, and sent it to the employee. It took the hotel staff almost three weeks to get the wallet in the mail to be sent back to us. We were at one point told the wallet was sitting under a video camera because they lady we spoke to didn't want to be responsible for anything going missing, then a few days later it had disappeared from under the video camera and no one knew where it was. A few days later, it was in a locked office, then next no one knew where it was. Finally on Sunday September 11th we were informed it had been taken to the drop off point for the delivery service. When we received the wallet, the $400 was missing and there were roach eggs on the tape used to seal the package. It looked as though someone had opened the package and resealed it, and given that the roach eggs were on all layers of the tape, we know that the delivery service didn't do it. I never in my life expected this type of dis-honesty from a hotel staff. We are supposed to be able to trust them to keep us safe when we stay there.

Best Western is our go to hotel when we travel. This hotel was extremely clean. The front desk staff was awesome. It was nice to find a place like this after a long drive. We can always count on the quality of the BW chain!

The staff was very professional, polite, friendly & very accommodating. Arrived early from Delaware, they allowed us early check-in. We had impromptu family gathering in the dining area & staff provided us with a plate full of baked cookies. Requested towels, we was provided with plenty. Staffing was wonderful!

Room full of mold, ripped up bed skirt. Checked in late, went to. Ed and woke up with coughing and clogged sinuses. Turned on some lights and noticed mold all over the place. Finished the night and told desk immediately in morning and she said she would notify the manager and get back to me. No call, no email and they would not even send me customer satisfaction survey that always gets sent. Add in a breakfast that had mostly cold food like cold biscuits, cold gravy, will never be back.

Great location, just minutes walk from the beach. Having access to the water park was brilliant as we could take the kids for a couple of hours then do other things. Food was lovely, with a great variety to suit everyone. Always something available too. Room was cleaned and well cleaned. It was quite basic but as a family who re mostly out it was perfect for us. Only downside was the pool opened at 10am which was a lot too late for us earlybirds.

We needed to find a clean pet friendly accomodation near the highway for a good night's rest on a long-haul trip. This place was perfect! The staff was welcoming, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, and there were restaurants within walking distance. Mission accomplished.

The previous review of a musty smell is correct. We were in 107 and everything felt damp. The second double bed had not been changed. The staff is tremendous and the breakfast was great. Maybe the second floor would be better. The cleaning could be better. We were glad to see DEAD palmetto bugs outside the rooms.

Was a good stay staff at Night Shift was awesome only complain my room has a musky smell and wasn't really clean other than that it's ok for the price they also offer a hot breakfast but was so tired that can't take advantage of that

Great grassy area for the dogs. Rooms clean, nice staff. We just did overnight on our way north, and was excellent place for our needs. A nice breakfast was included. They don't overcharge for pets. Would stay there again!

The hotel is conveniently located close to the Interstate entrance/exit. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The room was small but well-equipped, but the furniture is in need of updating. The BW website indicated that the breakfast would be "Grab and Go" , but the breakfast served was a full, hot breakfast with sausage, eggs, waffles and breads. All food was fresh, hot and good. The gentleman working both checkout and breakfast bar was friendly, quick and efficient. A satisfying start to our travel day.

I would stay here again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the best. Check in was easy. Loved that they were pet friendly and provided us with a downstairs room for walking our dogs. It was quiet with a restaurant we could walk to that also allowed pets. Overall great experience.

This hotel is located right off I95 which made it an easy off/easy on stop on our trip. We had a nice room, comfortable bed and enjoyed the breakfast next morning. The breakfast is an usual fare for 'hotels' and had plenty to choose from, especially the coffee. This will be on our list of places to stay when traveling in the area.

Hotel is clean and easily accessible right off 95. Room was clean and well appointed. Plenty spacious for two along with our dog. The hot breakfast was great. We travel with a dog and they are really pet friendly. Nice places to walk our dog.

Room was clean and quiet but very small. It was a King Bed Room. I would recommend 2 beds if you stay to get a larger space. Furnishings were dark but functional. Breakfast was good and offered eggs and sausage.

We stayed here based on favorable reviews. Our room, 121, had an odd unpleasant odor, there was unknown stuff under the bed, I hope it was dog kibble but it looked like dog poop. The bed was lumpy the bathroom so so and the one bar of soap at the sink was so tiny as to be laughable. Walterboro is full of mediocre motels and this Best Western just another.

The room smelled . It was dark and looked good on the website but was “ rather tired.”. Amenities beyond minimal and the breakfast was disappointing. At 8:00 am they were out of most everything including coffee The front office was very kind.

We found the check-inn staff to be very welcoming and warm. The room was dated but clean and functional. Overall, I would stay there again. The breakfast was essential, there is room for improvement in that area.

On way from Ohio to Florida we decided to stop for the night and we saw the Best Western sign and stopped for the night nice little town hotel was outstanding and the person at the front desk was very helpful on sending us to a restaurant for dinner meal was fantastic and if ever in the area would definitely stay there again

Super friendly. Very clean. Right off the highway. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Very quiet room. The breakfast had everything from eggs to yogurt to waffles. I highly recommend the best western hotel location.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this BW was. It was as nice or nicer than many leading hotel chains. I will definitely stay here again. The price is great and you could have your family here as well with no worries.

Clean and well kept rooms, very accommodating staff, the beds at Best Westerns are awesome!! Breakfast was also ample and pleasant, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Walterboro Best Western again.

The room was exceptionally clean and fresh smelling. I make this statement as I was traveling with a pet. The breakfast was very good, providing a variety of breakfast choices. The staff was very courteous and efficient.

We were driving back from Florida and needed one night stay. Looked on Trip advisor and got good reviews. The price was good. The room was clean, bed comfortable. Had a mini fridge in the room. We did not eat the breakfast, but just got coffee. Coffee was good. Breakfast looked pretty good: Scrambled eggs, sausage patty, and the usual muffins, cereal, fruit etc. The staff were extremely friendly. I would most definitely stay there again.

The price was very affordable when compared to other hotels in the area and I didn't know what to expect. But was pleasantly surprised how clean and fresh the rooms were. The breakfast was well laid out and good portions were available.

We have stayed in several different motels in Walterboro on our way to Florida. I don't know why we never tried the Best Western before. It's definitely the best of the moderately priced motels. The room was clean and didn't have that typical musty smell from humidity. The breakfast was better than most and even had eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. The dining area was roomy and pleasant. I was about to give up ever finding a decent place to stay in Walterboro. We will make it our stop for now on. Heads-up: Do NOT buy gas in Walterboro. Go a few extra exits and save your money.

We wanted a location right off US95 and this location was easy to find. The room was great and had everything we needed. Coffee maker, fridge, microwave and Internet. The Staff was attentive and friendly.

We drive back and forth between CT and FL twice each year. This BW, coupled with the BW in Staunton VA, about evenly divide the trip into three days with two overnights. There is a Cracker Barrel just down the road, and the property is right off the Interstate.

Need. renovation. of. modern rooms and. amenities. Nice staff. New phones. Bwtter. couches. New shower curtains. Better. Maintenance Tea as well as coffee available. Need updated rooms. Overall was ok

No internet for my laptop. I stayed in 15 BW motels on this trip and had no problems connecting to the internet with my laptop. This motel's system never let me even get to the log in page. I tried every setting possible to no avail and tried to different browsers. Something is awry with there system

The Best Western Walterboro SC is perfectly positioned for us as it is almost exactly half way between Virginia and Orlando to break up the trip on I-95. Inexpensive and as most BWs are it's well maintained. Wish we had discovered this some time ago.

I'm a diamond member with Best Western, and I stay in hotels frequently for work and travel. I was nervous when I saw that the hotel had exterior entrances to the rooms, but I decided to give it a shot anyways! Right away the staff was great! I didn't get his name, but I got there late on the night of the 11th, and the man at the counter was very friendly and helpful despite the time. I was very appreciative, and the check in was quick and easy! Not to mention the affordability of the room. In addition, there was a woman named Stacy at the counter in the morning when I was checking out and when I was having breakfast. She was very personable, and very kind. When I mentioned how much I loved the breakfast (they have biscuits and gravy, great eggs, a good variety in drinks, etc), she even offered to pack some up to go for me to grab before I left, but I declined because of the long drive ahead. This was a really great team working at this Best Western! The literal ONLY thing was that my drain was likely a bit clogged, and the bathtub filled with a bit of water towards the end of my shower. I didn't mind much and just let them know at check out; and they apologized and noted how they could've gotten me a different room. 1000% recommend (;

This is a renovated motel off 95. The rooms were small, but everything worked. The table was blocking the air from the HVAC unit so it got hot on the interior side of the bed. The people at the front desk were nice and the breakfast was very good. The parking lot could use better lighting so the huge hole at the entrance can be seen in the dark.

We have stayed in several other hotels while traveling with our Lab and none were nearly as nice as this location. The room was clean and comfortable and had a good hot breakfast. Prices are reasonable. Just what we needed. We will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for two nights and both mornings there was roaches in the room and on checkout day someone scratched my car my car is a dark blue color and the scratches was clearly visible when I got home I had a hard time buffering the scratches out don't think I would be staying here again

We were impressed with the politeness and thoroughness of the staff to ensure we had a pleasant stay. After a long day of driving it was very nice to have every need seen to by the staff answering all of our questions and ensuring we were happy.

The room was good. The hotel was clean. However, the breakfast was great if not for anything other than the amazing service of a woman named Joanne. She welcomes you with a huge smile. A big hello and welcome. Makes you feel like your presence really matters. The food was well presented and there were some good options. If you want a great experience, stay here. It was my third night driving and I was not feeling too friendly but she made me feel great and made all the difference for my stay.

Other than the check in experience, our stay was what we expect of Best Western Hotel. Clean, easy access, quiet and very friendly staff. Disappointed when check in clerk was abrupt and rude, never had that happen before.

Dirty, disgusting, spider infested, dirty carpet, and questionable sheet change. Speed past this place so the spiders don't get you. Did I mention old and dingy. Did I mention we slept on top of the civets in our clothes? Should be named “Worst Western”.

Have stayed at BW Walterboro before. Never had a good experience there. This past time was the worst. Only 1 ice machine working for a fully booked hotel. Water on the floor by that one was a hazard for everyone. Refrigerator in room was broken so could not keep our items cold. Garbage in 2 places around the hotel. Staff was OK but we have had trouble with General manager before about the pool and condition of this hotel. He was rude to us and implied that we could stay elsewhere. Which we have done. The only thing that has saved this hotel is the fact they take pets. If this was my franchise the general manager would be long gone and maybe then things and attitude towards customers would change. If you don't need to stay here DON'T.

It is conveniently off I-95 , easy off and on. The room was quite comfortable and clean. Personally I thought the mattress was too hard but that is on me. Only real complaint is the free breakfast. Understandably with Covid restrictions feel as though the muffins. Etc could have been of better quality. The staff were very pleasant and check in and out very easy.

I've stayed at Best Western of Walterboro numerous times and have always loved the staff. They're all super friendly and helpful. To some, the rooms may seem slightly outdated but I personally would choose this place over any other cheaper hotels nearby.

I have stayed in four Best Westerns within the last 4 months. I would say this was the worst of them. The room was filthy. The curtains were smoke stained and full of dust and grime. There was old food by the headboard of one of he beds and I killed a live cockroach. Mold in the shower corners and ceiling. I could go on. But, I think that describes generally my feelings. I was travelling south and had been driving for a while. If it had not been for how tired I was, I would have checked out. I write a review in Google and someone responded with a generic form letter saying how sorry they were for not living up to my expectations. This is NOT the standard I would expect from a Best Western Hotel. I was very disappointed. I know the price was lower, but still this is not somewhere I would recommend or stay at again. I had stayed in the BW in Staunton, VA which was GREAT! and even the one in Florence was good. But this was really sad.

This was one of the worst hotel experience ever. There were so many spiders in a semi clean room. We actually had to spray for spiders and used plenty of lysol wipes and spray to feel comfortable. The only reason we stayed was because it was a one night stay and had been driving for 10 hours. I should have asked for my money back. On the way back from our road trip we avoided this town and name brand hotel. We understand it's covid times, but don't rent rooms that has been sitting empty without doing an inspection of bug infestation. The staff were nice enough.

Friends recently stayed here en route to visit us from Florida. They awoke to bugs crawling all over the walls. No response from management regarding this and very little concern from Corporate. AVOID!!

I'm not one to complain or write reviews, but our experience at this hotel was gross. I should have asked for my money back and immediately left, but we were exhausted from our travels. The room was dirty and had a mildew/moldy smell to it. My family woke the next morning with bug bites on us. The real kicker was that they were having sewer water issues and there was standing water in the bathroom floor. The lady at the front desk did not offer any solutions when I called to inquire about the issue. Overall it was just a negative experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If it's late at night and you feel like you can't drive another mile.. just sleep in your car.

MOLD in the outside corner of the shower, stain on the bed runner, dust on the lamps and shades, stain marks on the inside of the Bathroom door Are you kidding me... they balled me out for not reporting the problem sooner. I didn't know the problem till I came back from dinner at about 10pm. I wasn't about to change rooms then, at least the bed linens and towels were clean. The asst. manager insisted it was my fault and the manager wanted to see what I complaining about. My husband was in the bathroom at the time so the manger said he would come back. We were only 2 rooms away from the office. But when I call him to come back, we waited 10 minutes and he never came. When I first drew his attention to the matter and asked for a refund for the night, he and his assistant were belligerent.

West facing, pet friendly room, curtains lefft open and air not turned on. front desk advised it is NOT their policy to have A/C on even with a reservation- NOT TRUE. Room remained intolerably hot for hours and hours. No other room available. Carpet not vacuumed well, grime on table. Very dated decor from carpet to furniture to drapes to bath. Just super tired looking and very small room for a pet room. disappointed for Best Western. excuse for housekeeping was lack of employees....OK, I get it but, customers still pay the same price for lesser a product.

Needed a place to sleep on a trip from NY to Florida on the I95 corridor. Spent no more than 15 hours in the hotel. Room was clean, shower ok. Could not understand why our Best Western $20 coupon from a BW promotion was not honored but after a long day of driving was too tired to argue.

I stay here every time I make this trip. I like the rooms, There is plenty of well kept grass for pets and the breakfast is usually pretty good. Staff is friendly and it is generally hassle free and pleasant.

We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly and apparently so did a lot of other people because everyone we saw had a dog. Upon arrival, I got a bad feeling as I walked into the lobby and heard a customer's conversation with the front desk attendant. You could tell they were being snippy with one another. At my check in, the attendant was also snippy with me, I guess as a result of her prior conversation. She was sarcastic and unfriendly. We went to our room which was up a flight of steps, no elevator. It was well over 90 degrees inside and we had our dog with us. We turned on the air which was completely off on a 95 degree SC day and went to get ice. Ice machine number one-out of order. Ice machine number 2 - out of order. Finally went back to miss personality and asked about the hot room and ice machines. Was informed that they always left the AC off unless a certain room was reserved. Was directed to ice machine number 3 which did work. Back to the room where I had to physically move a table from the front of the AC unit to feel any air. Tried to go to the pool but it was closed. The furniture is outdated and there was a large black spot on the wall that looked like tobacco spit. I was afraid to take off my shoes because the room smelled musty and dirty. I used the shower later though and found there was still soap scum all over the wall and handles. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Passed a worker on our way down the steps and we said good morning and she didn't even grunt. Rude staff. Still not serving breakfast so we grabbed the brown bag breakfast and left. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that it had a nice yard out back for the dogs to utilize. Talked with several other pet owners while in that area who all complained of similar problems but we were all there due to having a pet and there was a small cost, $15, for them. Other hotels in the same area were asking $75. Next time I will plan my route better and find a hotel like Drury Inn which allows pets for $40 but gives you free food and clean rooms. Will not stay at Best Western in Walterboro ever again. Do not recommend.

I arrived earlier than check-in time which was not a problem. Check-in and out was very fast and efficient. Even with COVID, the continental breakfast set up was superb, accommodating and had enough variety to satisfy.

Filthy room with spider nests in the ceiling corners. No response to a complaint with the Front Desk Manager. I am a hotelier and was appalled at the condition of the room and the lack of response from management.

We checked in late (driving from FL) and had no problem checking in. The problem was the hotel in general. Very little to no upkeep, the pool was green, dirty and blocked off. The room was also filthy. The toilet seat moved when you used it and we didn't want to touch anything. We would never stay here again.

This hotel is markedly in need of repair or upgrading, room had multiple broken or dysfunctional items. Truly shocked it is still a Best Western. High traffic location that desperately needs a better hotel.

The carpeting was torn, the walls of the shower were disgusting, the furniture looked very old, the tv remote was not functioning upon arrival, and outside the room on the lawn where we walked our dog was an open grating that was an accident waiting to happen.

I needed a hotel on the way home so the place look like a good value. Being a diamond member of the franchise I would think the room would be O.K. To my horror the best rooms were near the garbage Bin on the north side. We had flies all though the room just putting our luggage in. Cobwebs on the ceiling the internet stopped working. But to top it off they had the pool open that was the most disgusting green filled with bugs and sand and trash. I went to complain to the manager on duty and he told me that one of the pumps are broke and they are waiting on parts and he didn't want to close it on the weekend and lose revenue during the weekend. I said they are two small children swimming in the pool and worried for their safety. Being a Saturday I tried to contact the dept. of health in Walterboro which was closed. I called the following Monday to send a inspector out and he called me back to tell me that the owner of the hotel said the pool has been closed all year.

Stay Away!!! We stayed for one night in our way from Florida north. It was terrible. Dirty, the sink leaked brown water, and there are stray cats outside the rooms. The clientele leaves a lot to be desired. I lay awake all night terrified. I just want a shower and a clean bed. There was a dog barking all night. When I called to complain I was told that I was in the pet section. They did nothing. I couldn't wait to check out.

Garbage in parking area. Service person walked right by didn't pick up. Stray cats in parking area. AC unit extremely noisy and moldy smelling Needs maintenance and cleaning. Handicapped room had a tub instead of roll in shower. Pipes under bathroom sink had inches of dust on them. Fingerprints everywhere. Dog nose prints on window. Curtains filthy. Dated decor. Toilet plunger left in bathroom. Tub wouldn't drain. Refrigerator loud.

Dirty, like so gross that I wouldn't even sit on the chair. I know there had to have been bugs with the condition it was in! I will not visit here again. I'd rather sleep in my car. Don't even waste a penny, find somewhere else.

I put the do not disturb sign on the door and went to put the luggage In the car, went back to the room to get the rest of our stuff and the housekeeper was in the room pulling towels and bedding. I told her there was a reason for the sign on the door which she took off, I have stuff in here we weren't done. She said oh. Really?! So they will just walk in whenever. Won't stay there again.

Needed a hotel for 6 for a quick on the road over night stay. Rooms were dated but very clean. Bed was made tightly and fresh and though the pillows were little they were comfortable. Definitely worked for passing through overnight stay.

I stayed in room 210. Checked in after a long drive to find bugs in our bed, a toilet leaking through floor when flushed, and filthy carpets. There were also suspicious folks wandering around the hotel area late at night. Enough said.

I had to stay at best western in walterboro. Over a 6 day period and it was very clean, very cost efficient and very quiet as well. All the staff were amazing . stacey and peyton were extremely helpful and very polite. The manager abe brown was exceptional as well. It in my opinion is the best hotel in walterboro and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel safe and have a good nights rest . thanks to all the staff for making my stay so great! Will definitely stay here again!

DONT STAY HERE, UNLESS YOU LIKE URINE COVERED SHEETS!!!! I stayed here last night with my mother. At around 10:30 pm when I pulled back the covers to get into bed, I was greeted with a huge yellow stain on the sheets. My mother smelled it and it smelled like URINE. We pulled back the sheet and it was stained down to the mattress topper. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!! You think with Covid-19 going around they could atleast wash the sheets, especially when other guests urinate on them. So my mother went down to the office and we were told by the manager that we could either get a new sheet to put on top of the urine soaked mattress topper or change rooms at 10:30 pm. So we chose to change rooms. The next room we checked into the bed was covered in various hairs from various other guests, but hey atleast no urine this time. Really, with covid going around they NEED TO WASH THE SHEETS. (even if covid wasn't going around, I would hope they washed the sheets.) After switching rooms we decided to read some other reviews for this hotel. After reading the reviews we decided it was best for us to sleep with the lights on after reading so many people complain about bugs and roaches coming out after they turned out the light. This morning when we checked out we were told by the manager that we could not get a refund for the disgusting room, and we were getting our $15 pet fee refunded. That's disgraceful and disgusting. The manager Mr. Abram Brown J.R. should be really ashamed of himself for letting this happen. And best western should be ashamed of themselves for letting this disgusting place carry its name. Also the carpets were disgustingly filthy, I don't think they vacuum EVER. Maybe once a month at best. WORST HOTEL STAY EVER!!!!!

They all go above and be your stay comfortable. Please give Best Western their Staff Awards. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. Property is clean and has a fantastic old time charm.

Stacy was AWESOME she made this trip worth while and the housekeeper did a great job in keeping the rooms clean during this COVID 19 pandemic. I would definitely recommend this hotel, only if Stacy is working. If you want great customer service, ask for Stacy, she will take care of you.

This Best Western I got a discount online for and it was only $60 total! Which was incredible. But simple things were bad. Like in the room I got only two outlets worked so between the light and TV and fridge I could only plug one of the three phones in at a time. The breakfast bag you had zero choices with and I'm allergic to blueberries so I couldn't enjoy the muffin, and yogurt I don't like so I had to stop for breakfast when I used to never have to at a best western. The cleanliness of the room though was very good, and TV did work with a lot of channels. Shower pressure was amazing as well! So overall if you need a place to sleep while traveling south or wherever this is definitely perfect for the price! And parking the moving truck outside was great there was actual parking for it and it wasn't sketchy or anything to where I had to worry about my valuables or someone breaking in to the truck! The front desk girl was amazingly accommodating and super friendly! Made everything even out in my opinion!

Traveling from Florida to Massachusetts we needed to stop to get a couple hours of sleep with our dog and this BW was right off the highway. Room seemed clean but carpet could be replaced. We got a good night sleep, grabbed a breakfast bag to go and just out front got some ice coffee at McDonalds for the ride. One final note and the night time front desk employee was very efficient and good.

Hotel location is great, places to eat in walking distance. The rooms could use updating. Carpet should be replaced with easy clean vinyl flooring, linens getting a bit old and bathtub was very slippery when taking a shower. I would go here again because the room was very clean just dated.

We needed a pet friendly room for one night traveling from WV back to FL. We were charged an additional $30 for our 3 cats, which is totally understandable. Unfortunately they are not using any of the extra pet fees to take of the rooms. The room had a very bad pet odor and had fleas, carpets were all torn up and just very nasty overall. I asked the person at the desk what they did about this and his reply was that if they hear about fleas they treat the room. They should be checking their rooms before any guest to be sure there are no fleas. And carpets in a pet friendly room, how gross!! They need to get with the program and have tile or laminate flooring that can be truly cleaned in between guests. Animals have accidents...they are not cleaning these rooms the way they need to. Horrible room, I would not recommend or ever stay again. This is not what a person should expect in a pet friendly hotel, I have stayed at many and never had this experience!

Room was extremely damp to the point the carpet in the room was wet. I had to run the fan all light because the room was so damp and the air did not work 100 percent. I told the guy at front desk at check out and he was uninterested and said it's that way when it rains, did not offer discount or anything. Left at 6:30 along with other guests and still no breakfast ready yet .

This hotel has always been a great place to stay while traveling on I-95, If you ever have a problem which is not very often they take care of it, before the pandemic they always had a great breakfast.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of this motel. We just needed a pet-friendly place to stay overnight while traveling along I-95. I was initially reluctant when my daughter found the Best Western Walterboro because I thought it would probably be dirty, but that was not the case. It was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, and the amenities were what we needed. It was also very reasonably priced. Its location right off of I-95 near a gas station, McDonald's and Ruby Tuesday meant it was easy for us to get dinner, fill the tank , and get breakfast in the morning. (We didn't try the complimentary hotel breakfast.) The grounds of the hotel are well-kept and very nice for walking your dog.

I went to hotel with my dog. When i went to the room the room had a musty smell. I turned on AC and went to turn down the bed and found bugs under the covers. I went to check the other bed and there were body hairs on the bed. I spoke to the desk clerk who first said there were no rooms available but found a handicap room that was available. When I checked out I was told the owner will be in touch about the condition of the room. When asking about breakfast that was supposed to come with room I was given a brown paper bag with a bruised apple, a kellogs bar and a small water. There was no coffee available.

Place is a bit weathered for sure. Not unclean, but worn. We were in rooms farthest from lobby and could not access wifi. No fix seemed available since the wifi was working in the lobby. Access to interstate was superb and we got the rest we needed on a long drive.

The customer service was horrible. The girl at front desk took 24,000 BW rewards points AND charged my card. once it was brought to her attention, her comment was " OH well, call the 1-800 number and there is no manager here until tomorrow" She was pitiful. The room was nice, area was nice, but took me 2 hours on the phone to resolve. DO NOT STAY HERE....

This place was just filthy . We slept in our clothes on top of towels. Had it not been so late and we were so tired, we would have left. Green pool. Charged an extra $20 for the dog. No breakfast available. Did I mention filthy?

When traveling to and from Virginia to Florida on Interstate 95 I always stop at this Best Western in Ga exit 53. It all depends on the time that we leave whether it is a going north or south over night. The reason I used to stop is because I know they take pets. Now I just stop because I like it. This trip I did have a family member with a cat so it was perfect. Plenty of well lit parking also as we had a U Haul in our group that was parked under the lights. No breakfast due to Covid 19 but there is a Mc Donalds in walking distance.

WiFi is inconsistent and the front desk was of little help. The Internet shuts down frequently and you have to wait one hour to manually restart it Stray cats in the parking lot. Very run down facility. The location is convenient to I95.

This was one of the WORST experiences I have had in a very long time in a hotel! There are stray cats all over the hotel parking lot.My 77 yo mother accidentally stepped on one outside the door in the parking lot as it was under our car. The cat bit my mother on her leg, drawing blood. She had to go to the ER and get rabies shots, tetanus shot and antibiotics. The staff was HORRIBLE. The woman at desk said it "wasn't the hotel's problem."She was rude and refused to even comp the room. The owner, r. Ram, refused to accept my phone call or return my call.The room was dirty, extremely overpriced, the AC barely worked, and there were cockroaches. Recommend any other hotel in Walterboro EXCEPT for the Best Western! If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Air conditioner broken, tv broken, light bulbs burnt-out, 2 cockroaches, One girl running everything and she was great. But couldn't fix the problems even though she tried. She said only other room available was upstairs and I was too tired to move my meal, my belongings and my cat up a flight of stairs.

We stay at this property enroute from Florida to Toronto every year. Great location, easy on, easy off I-95. Disappointed this year, understand the difficulty with the corona virus and the hot breakfast typically served but I am sure with a little creativity some type of pre packed doggy back could have been arranged, or a voucher with McDonalds next door, but nothing. Add to this the fact the ice machine was inoperative made our stop this year, let's say inconvenient. That said, this is not typical or previous stays, guess that led to our disappointment. We will give it one more try next trip.

In this time of uncertainty, the room was spotless as was the lobby. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast could have been a little more substantial but in these trying times it must be difficult to please everybody.

Upon arriving they saw a coupon a my hand for their motel. Before even saying hello to me was told in the most rude manner the "We are not accepting coupons". Even though everything was valid on the coupon. They were obviously taking advantage of the virus situation with everyone on the road trying to get home. Was talked to in the most demeaning manner like they were doing me a favor just to let me stay. Would have walked out but I was tired from a long drive. Bathroom sink drain did not work and bathroom smelled of what I assumed was sewer gas and was told by the front desk that there was nothing that they could do because it was caused by a "high occupancy in the building". Seriously???? I knew that a substitute "breakfast bag" would be given in place of the normal breakfast due to virus concerns but 1 banana, 1 water, and 1 granola bar??? You gotta be kidding. I have never given a bad review to a Best Western but I felt this occasion merited one. You got me this time but never again.

Have stayed here many times. Clean rooms, nice breakfasts and usually sunshine when I get up in the morning. Plenty of gas around me fill up and be on my way. This time they gave us a nice little suite. I wish we had more time to enjoy it.

If going by price vs quality, my rating would be very good, but just going against quality, it is average. The check-in and breakfast was good. A nice selection of fruit as well as the standard BW foods. Our room was clean except the inside air return of the refridgerator needed cleaning. Doors were heavy and secure and we heard very little foot traffic at night even though we were on the first floor. Only real item we had was the beds appreared to be on its last legs. A bit lumpy and uncomfortable. All in all an Average Best Western but good value and price.

The hotel tell was very noisy and the air conditioning system very clunky and noisy. It was very disturbing to wake up not rested after 15 hours of driving was upsetting. I am sure there are other hotels to stay at

We like staying here as its location to our final stop is good. Quiet area so u get a good nite sleep the hotel offers a great green space to walk ur dog and the Ruby Tuesday restaurant is with walking distance . Breakfast is a pleasure with a helpful attendant to get u off to a good start. All at the front desk r pleasant too. We will continue to stop here on r travels.

We were lucky to get one of the two rooms left. The room's were very clean and looked recently remodeled. They were well equipped. The staff were very friendly when we called and check in was pleasant. The lady running the Breakfast service could not have been nicer and her level of customer support were amazing. The value for the room with Breakfast was excellent.

Stay along our way to Florida, needed a room close off highway with our small dog. This was a good location and pet friendly room, what more can you ask for? I would recommend this place if you have a pet.

This hotel is easy to get to off of art 95. Walking distance to restaurants. Ruby Tuesday is only about 100 yards away. After a long day of driving it's nice to walk to dinner. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

These maintenance & lack of cleanliness issues were building over time. I left a note at the desk and heard nothing. I wrote to the company and heard nothing. I asked for a response, so that I didn't have to share publicly. A recap: Shower water can burn a person; paint unfinished (blackish?) ceiling, cob webs, internet crashes, toilet seat peeling, coffee pot had previous brew; creamer powder too hard to use, floor corners dirty; uncomfortable chair; towels not soft

We stayed here because it allowed us to travel halfway to our destination, and was recommended to me by mom. The hotel was easy to find. The after hours check-in was very easy. Our dogs loved the doggy area; it's a good size and the pick-up bags and trash container was nice to have. Our room was clean, comfy and a good size for us and two little dogs. The only thing I disliked was the pillows. We had a bunch of little euro pillows (little square ones) on our king bed. They're barely big enough for your head and sleeping with two is rather uncomfortable because your head ends up in the crack of the pillow. Overall, we would definitely stop in here again for a good nights sleep and a delicious breakfast the next morning!

We have trusted the Best Western name in the past, but now we will think twice. When I arrived at the room the door was held open by the security latch and not locked. We found several used wash clothes and a hand towel and an open bar of soap. The toilet had toilet paper in it ant the lid and seat were up. We found cigarette ash on the sofa and a cigarette lighter when we open up the sleeper sofa. This was a non-smoking room. It appeared that employees were using the room as a break room. If it weren't for the fact that there was not another room like it available and the room was mostly clean we wouldn't have stayed.

Stayed here based on reviews and we arrived very late so not many choices. The staff were the nicest people but our room was filthy!! Absolutely flithy! Carpet was wet bathroom vanity was gross, hadn't been wiped even. If it had not been so late we would have gotten a refund and left. Would not recommend this place at all. Beds were at best ok. But by far the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in.

Our room was clean and our bed was very comfortable. If I were to have a complaint it would be that the surface of the tube was very slippery. I used a small towel to stand on while I showered because I was afraid of falling. In the morning we had a bice breakfast before hitting the road.

This hotel was near I-95, restaurants, gas stations, with on restaurant across the parking lot. Hotel was clean and well kept. Breakfast was good with several options. The lady in charge of breakfast was very welcoming and helpful.

On our way to Florida and it was easy to find this hotel close to the I-95 South. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were travelling with a dog so it was great to have an area to walk her right outside of our room. Breakfast was good and lots of coffee. Please put out more French Vanilla CoffeeMate. It was great to have a Ruby Tuesday accross the parking lot. We will be back. Thanks

First room they gave us,the floor near bathroom was flooded and outside it smelled of sewage, got our room changed room to the other side. Breakfast was a pleasure with miss Joann. Cheerful ,welcoming and very helpful. She made our day!

The ratio quality price is excellent. Breakfast is very good with very nice employees. There is a pool in summer. and many restaurants at walking distance from the hotel. WiFi is very good and fast. It's located just at the exit on I 81. Many gas stations. Room was quiet at night and comfort was very good too, it was 88 degrees on my arrival and 41 in the morning, but the room was at good temp.

I'm biased toward Best Western for one reason - The total package is well worth the cash. Simple statement - More bang for the buck! While I was a little disappointed I could not obtain a handicapped room but the room I was given had grab bars in the tub and was overall clean and odor free, Why do I say odor free? because I cannot climb stairs and the only room available was a "pet" room. I prepared for the worst and had I not been told it was a pet room I never would have known. No odors no stains on the carpet and was as clean as any other room Ive been in. So if this is the standard for a pet room you have no problems here. Clean is important and this place was clean. Tub was a little slippery for a disabled guy but overall I give this place 4 stars.

This has got to be a old one. Bathroom was so small and still using plastic shower curtains. Rug needed a good cleaning. Up side ans she made the night worth it. Joann the Breakfast Lady. She was so pleasant when you enter the room with a smile and glad you are here. Very helpful I noticed with the older people helping them with their trays and getting them thingsd. She made my day off with a good start!!!!!!!!!! Don't let this GEM GO!!!!!!!!!!

Mold on bathroom ceiling and woke up to cockroaches crawling all over our items on the sink area, management gave horrible customer service and only offered $15.00 off our room in which I told him that I had to throw away more products that the value was more than that!

The person that checked me in was very helpful, friendly, courteous and a pleasure to deal with. the TV was very snowy, they fixed it, sort of, it was good for one day. Why do hotels only have HBO? Get creative with TV channels, get rid of HBO!

As I was travelling solo I wanted to make sure I had a safe and comfortable place for the night. The front desk was amazing and made me feel very welcome. I would stay here again when travelling in the area/

The hotel was clean, comfortable and I felt safe. Plenty of lighting at night. I had a pet friendly room that was very clean with a slight scent of a previous pet. I just added a couple room scents for myself and was good to go. As with any hotel it need a few tweaks. The bathroom door needs to be realigned so it closes completely for better privacy and one of the clear corner wall covers was coming off. The bed sheets were clean. The blanket that was in between the sheets was okay but could use some freshening up. The towels were clean. The staff was excellent in their service and their cheerful personalities added a delightful personal touch to the overall experience. And I am planning to stay again on my way back home.

We try to book Best Westerns as most of the time they are usually consistently satisfactory or better. The Best Western in Walterboro fell far short of our expectations for the cost. The front desk woman was very cordial and professional, from there things went downhill. There were coffee stains on the counter before we had coffee there. There was an odor when we walked in (not sure what that was), it was small and very dated. Really? For 117.00 a night?! I've been in far better hotel rooms for far less a night! Shape up Best Western! I'm embarrassed to be a BW rewards member!

We've stayed at this motel multiple times on our annual trips from Florida to Pennsylvania and back. It's always been satisfactory and an OK place to stay. This year our "welcome" was a roach on the pillow of the first room we were given. I killed it but still didn't want to stay there. We then moved into the second room. When I moved the phone on the bedside stand another roach came scurrying out. I have to admit that I find roaches thoroughly repulsive. Stacey (front desk clerk) was totally helpful, sympathetic and understanding. She found other motels for us and coupons for stay and she said she would have helped move our luggage, but she was the only staff on duty and couldn't leave the desk. On our drive to the next motel we decided we just wanted to get home and spent the night driving. Obviously we won't stay there again and I recommend you shouldn't stay there either unless roaches don't bother you!

We had a great stay, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was great. The lady in charge of the breakfast was very cheerful and accommodating, The girl that checked us out was very nice and asked many questions about our stay and seemed very genuine in her concern that we had a great stay, which we did.

This is a good hotel with good value for the money. this is an older property that has mostly been upgraded . we found it it very acceptable. Service was excellent and breakfast was very good. The person at the check in desk was very helpful and pleasant.

We were fleeing Florida as Hurricane Dorian has headed our way. I called Best Western reservations enroute (they were great) and Walterboro was what we decided on. We arrived after 11 p.m. and found the lobby door locked with a window for checkin. the night clerk was great and very helpful. Five days later, on our drive back to Florida, we stopped again. Abram, manager, is extremely personable and opened breakfast early because surrounding businesses were closed due to the hurricane. The staff seems to take pride in their work (the Breakfast Lady is a hoot).

Front desk girls were awesome, fast check in. However, the room wasn't up to our standards (humid, musty smell, older and outdated) and we decided to try elsewhere. As my husband was adjusting our cooler in our cars trunk to repack our belongings in front of the hotel, the general manager came out and began yelling at him and accusing him of stealing ice! My husband informed him we had not used his ice and offered to let him look but the manager continued to question him and then took pictures of our car. A totally insane experience. We were glad to get a refund and take our business elsewhere (the Hilton close by, extremely better accommodations and less money!) Also, pool was closed because it was “seasonal”. Didn't make sense on a 90° day in September. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

It's an older property. Located close to the interstate. My room was clean and had the usual amenities. Small tv and fridge with microwave. The bed was comfortable and linens clean. Bathroom could use some updating. It sits right behind a McDonalds drive through and a Ruby Tuesday's. I tried R/T and wished I'd gone to McD's. About 5:30 am the garbage truck showed up and started banging the dumpsters around. The breakfast was standard motel fare, average at best. You could use this place in a pinch, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Our room was neat and clean. Everything worked well. The breakfast was good but the staff and her personality made it a great experience! There is no elevator to get upstairs so we had to stay on the ground floor. We would stay here again!

The room was quiet. There was no road noise. The beds were good and clean. coffee and cookies were aviable that night. The room was close to the office. The breakfast area was very clean and large.I would stay there again.

Very nice, clean facility. Staff was friendly and polite. Room although not fancy was very clean and set up well. Breakfast was good. The staff women at breakfast was excellent, very helpful, polite and super cheerful.

This is a nice hotel with friendly service. I have stayed here many times and have always enjoyed it. There's a couple restaurants within walking distance which we appreciate after a long day in the car.

After driving for 7 hrs we were exhausted and just wanted a fast check in and sleep and that's what we got. Young lady was very pleasant and helpful. The next morning we went down for breakfast and was greeted by Joanne, who was very attentive to our needs and made it an enjoyable morning..

Room was fine, beds fairly comfortable, well lit areas to walk the dogs, landscaping well maintained. Definitely doing the best with what they have. Hotel has a “motel like” feel. Smaller rooms. T.v. Reception/channels not great.

Very friendly staff and clean facility. The pool was clean and inviting, however it was closed. They had a fast internet and a nice unit in the lobby with a printer that actually worked. The breakfast was very nice with a lady who ran the breakfast and we enjoyed talking to her. The room was very quiet. Walking distance to McDonalds and other nice restaurants.

The rooms were old and needed a facelift. Room had a strong disinfected odor. Easy off and on from I-95. We would not stay here again. Other newer choices for alternatives. This was not our first time staying at a BW property. I am an awards member.

Best pet friendly Walterboro hotel I have stayed at over the years. We have been traveling with our dog for the past three years. We stay in Walterboro every year on our way to Florida. This was by far the best stay we have had. Our dog is big and finding a good place to stay is hard. The Best Western Walterboro will be our goto from now on.

After a very long day of travel, my grandchildren were so happy to get into the clean pool. Hubby went in too. Water temperature was nice Room was clean except for an old mint we found under the bed skirt. Bed size was regular. Air conditioner was great. Coupon in the book and on hotel app. $59. We drove a few miles to the best restaurant in Walterboro per Trip Advisor, Carmine's Trattoria—and it was very delicious.

We've stayed in many Best Western's over the past two years. This is by far the worst one we've stayed in. Staff were very friendly. Hotel is old and they are trying to re-vamp it, but rooms are very small and I just didn't feel cleanliness.

We stay on the way to Fla. & on the way back. The rooms are always clean, the staff it is friendly & breakfast is great. Been using best western Waltersbough for 5 years, so that is 4 stays a year. Thanks for a nice place.

Comfortable, convenient, hospitable, AND dog friendly. We selected this BW because our stop at South Point BW on the way to Beaverdam, Virginia was great. And so glad my ESA dog was considered part of the family.

Front desk staff was friendly and overly helpfull... I requested a handicap room to accomodate my wife's wheelchair... We were assigned a first floor room with easy side entry... At the last minute the desk clerk changed the room to one right next to the front entrance with the breakfast room around the corner and the ice machine a step away... The large bathroom made it easy to move around with the wheelchair... Will stop here again on our next trip north... If you use a wheelchair, request a handicap room!

Stayed for 1 night here and seen about 3 small roaches in the room and 1 bigger one outside the door. The AC didn't work very well and the room definitely had a wet dog smell. In between the bed and the dresser was dog hair and what look like dog food that had been missed when the room was cleaned. I went for breakfast about 850am and promptly at 9am it was being taken down even though other guests had just come in to eat. What I can say positively is the breakfast was good and they did have a good amount of choices. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Although the lobby looked updated, the rooms are not and would benefit with an update. I was a bit disappointed in this Best Western as others I have stayed in are nice, but this one really needs some work.

Well maintained, pet friendly. Large suit overlooking courtyard with pool. A few spots left uncleaned, but by no means filthy. Restaurants nearby. I'm quite impressed by the Best Western Brand and will be a returning customer.

Everything as it should be. Great breakfast and a warm and friendly breakfast hostess who put a smile on everyone's face. Also, walking distance to a restaurant so no need of moving the car once you get there. We are snow birds and make the trip along the East coast twice a year.

This hotel is worn down and needs a makeover, but there are not many options in Walterboro. It is pet friendly, which we needed. HOWEVER, there is small feral cat population that hangs out in the parking lot, and in the dog walking area. If your dogs don't like cats--and ours are rabid about them--this is a disaster. Getting in and out of rooms was a struggle and we had to take dogs off property to walk them

Have stayed at this location many times and have always give. Good reviews when sent a survey. We received a free voucher because of the # of times we stayed in a Best Western at the beginning of this year. I booked a pet friendly room and upon arrival was not given the room I requested on the phone which is a whole different story. We checked in and went to our room. When I woke up in the morning there was a note to "immediately" go to the front desk and pay my pet fee. There was a phone in the room they could have called but it seemed they thought posting a note for all to see was the best option. The front desk manager showed no empathy and made excuses to justify why this was handled so inappropriately. Who books a pet friendly room if they aren't traveling with a pet? As of now I have a pet fee they put on my credit card that I saved on the Best Western app. and I also have a receipt for paying the pet fee in cash. So disappointed in this last stay. If customer service is important to you don't stay here. If it doesn't matter this will work for an overnight stay

Very disappointed with this hotel it is definitely. Not worth the money. It is very Dirty and unsanitary. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The only good thing there was the woman at check in she was the only pleasant thing about this place

Not a lot to say that others haven't said yet. Check in was efficient and cheerful. Rooms are small. Property has two floors, no elevator, close to I 95. Breakfast is standard fare. Not a lot of better options around.

We stayed at this hotel only because the other nicer updated hotels in the area were all booked up and we didn't want to drive another hour to a Marriott property at 11:00 at night. The night attendant was very cordial and apologized about us having to use the stairs to get to our room. No escalator. The room was small, dark and seriously in need of updating. Even though we didn't hear traffic noise we heard every time someone went up and down the stairs and the noise of the plumbing every time the toilet flushed was jolting when you're trying to sleep. In addition, I didn't feel like the bed linens were fresh. I did notice that the towels were of a good quality and seemed fresh. The tub area was sub par and felt like the room could've been cleaned a lot better. The walls are thin and we could hear talking. We didn't dare eat breakfast judging from how the room was. Lesson learned....it was a Friday night and if you want a nice hotel, book ahead!

There are loads of hotels at this exit right off 95 for those going South for the winter or spring break or going north for the summer. This one is pet friendly. Staff is good and attentive, especially Joanne, who does breakfast. Problem is the rooms are teeny tiny and loaded with furniture for gGod knows what reason. You have trouble fitting dog kennels in the room with all the furniture. Rooms have weird smell and are very antiseptic. The sink was clogged. I took a look. Looked like the pipes had not been cleaned for 10 years. The exhaust fan was filthy in the bathroom too. Place was dimly lit. They do accommodate pets so I guess beggars can't be choosers. Wish there was a nicer place.

Motel style rooms..older hotel. Bed & pillow ok,not great. Girl at desk nice..Not many TV channels.Didn't eat breakfast was leaving early,went to see if there was coffee, lobby door was locked,had a window,no one was there. Never seen that & I have been to a lot of hotels.Area ok.

Bed frame stuck out from under the mattress and my husband hit his left foot on it dislocating it or breaking it I told the front desk when checking out and asked to fill out an accident report. They said they had it noted. No offer to call an emt and now they are saying my husband and I revised to fill out an accident report. We are on vacation and this certainly has taken away from it by limiting what my husband can do. My advise if you stay at a Best Western and you get hurt you kay on the floor of the Lobby and kick and scream. And check the sink as the drain in the room we stayed in was so disgusting I almost puked. Didn't even dare look at the bath tub drain thinking we just used that

A wonderful stay if you have a pet traveling with you. The place is kept clean, beds are comfortable and the customer service is perfect. Especially JoAnne at the breakfast. She makes my day each time I see her.

This place is a great stopping point when driving from Northern Virginia to Florida. It is at exit 53. The price is very reasonable $89/night. The room was clean and a very comfortable bed with 6 pillows. Breakfast is included in the price. Ms. Joanne is a pro at making waffles of all different flavors.

This is a very nice hotel, typical smaller BW. The room was clean, smelled fresh, nice furniture layout, good bathroom, good normal-height beds. Wifi was good and so were the electrical outlets for our electronics. Breakfast was good, including hot protein items. The only complaint about the breakfast area is its layout - very crowded seating area and around the buffet counter. A huge line/traffic jam formed at the coffee urns - they should be moved to a table/counter in the hall/lobby to relieve the congestion!

Great experience. Pet friendly and clean rooms. Great location within walking distance to a Ruby Tuesday in the front of the parking lot. Lots of grassy areas to walk your dog. Would definitely recommend

Dreary lobby. Small, crowded room, Tired decor. Ice machine broken. No mobile phone reception in the room; I had to walk along the second floor courtyard-facing walkway to an opening to the parking lot for phone service. Bed was not very comfy and the pillows were wads of something synthetic and lumpy. The only food delivery option is pizza, which isn't BWs fault but is an inconvenience. We did not bother with breakfast as the general standard seemed low for everything in the hotel. Despite a ‘Do not disturb ‘ on the door and check out time at 11:00, we had 3 people from housekeeping knocking on the door starting at 8:30. The last one was at 10:15 while I was in my bath wrap and a man came ‘to pick up the trash'. What? I gave him the trash but by the time I checked out I had put more trash in the bin so what was the point of him disturbing me 45 minutes earlier? Even a silly thing like housekeeping parking their cart right in the center of the walkway and leaving it there while people struggled to squeeze around it with their suitcases. Maybe petty to mention but I just felt it doesn't happen at other BWs. And this is not a cheap, discount BW. For the same price, we have enjoyed far more comfort and tasteful decor at other BWs. The desk clerk was friendly and efficient. We travel this route often, but we will definitely make another hotel choice next time.

Price was average and check-in and out was fast with the agent being very polite. Room was very thing we needed and breakfast was complete with hot items and very clean. Newspaper to read and put us in an area that was easier for me to reach.

We were traveling back from Florida to Ontario and decided to stop in Walterboro for the night. The hotel receptionist was incredible, very friendly and informative making our initial booking in very comfortable and pleasant. I later asked for an extra two plllows which were delivered within two minutes...wow. The room was so clean,EVERYTHING worked and no smell one normally associate with motels. Breakfast was included which consisted of eggs,sausage, waffles,breads,cheese,juices, coffee, teas and so on. We highly recommend this establishment and any further trips traveling through this area we will be booking a room at this little gem.

First of all, when we called, it took 3 phone calls to get through at 5 in the evening. If i could give zero stars I would!!!! I have severe anxiety and needed a pet friendly hotel (even though I can go to any hotel with my service dog) we just have loved Best Western in the past. When I got there, I let them know that I had a service dog. The girl insisted I show her my paperwork to “ prove” I needed this dog! She said her boss required it. I did not care about the $15 pet fee because I had just left a hotel that charged $50 for dogs! By the way, the hotel in Orlando did not ask to see my paperwork, nor has any hotel we have ever stayed in. I actually thought it was against the law (which it is) I showed her my paperwork, it embarrassed me because it's none of her business to know “why” I needed this dog! Not only that, the floor/carpet in our room was sticky, dust on the headboard and tv/stand! Did not even feel comfortable taking a shower there! I just wanted to get home! The traffic was so bad from Orlando to Daytona, (3 extra hours) that we were just glad to get some sleep. When we got to the “free” breakfast, it was cleaned up. Never will I ever stay in a Best Western again!! I broke out in hives and still have anxiety about that place!!!

My husband and I were driving from Florida to Virginia and decided to stop the night in Walterboro. We chose this Best Western because it had a Ruby Tuesday's next to it. Although it was an older hotel the room, beds were clean and comfortable and also cheaper from the Best Western Plus so you have to make allowances. Staff were friendly and effecient and the breakfast was beverly good, hot eggs and sausage plus the usual juiced, cereals, breads and muffins. All in all we were very satisfied.

We stopped here last year (2018) on our way to Florida and decided to stay here again last night. It's convenient on/off of I95. Ruby Tuesday is in the same parking lot as is McDonald's. Plenty of gas stations and places to eat to choose from. The rooms are nice and clean. King rooms are all on the second floor with no elevator. First floor rooms have 2 double beds. Breakfast attendant, Joanne, is FANTASTIC!! Upbeat, helpful and super friendly!! She even made me a waffle served it to me! ❤️ We will stay here again on our way thru!

After driving over 600 miles, the only thought I had was to get a room for the night. Once confirming availability, the check in person asked if we had an AAA card or any other that would save us money. That was the start to a great stay. This Best Western experience was wonderful from the time we checked in till we left following breakfast in the a.m. The rooms had everything we needed, great bed linens and very comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water with a lot of pressure and towels were plentiful. No signs of wear and tear and spotlessly clean.

We travel a lot and always look for Best Western as we have had usually great experiences with the hotel that is pet friendly. The location of this hotel is wonderful quite convenient. Upon entry the main hall or Lobby is beautiful and the desk clerks are wonderful professional and friendly. The breakfast buffet lady Miss Joanne could not be more kind or helpful or friendly to guests. If we weren't so exhausted though we would not have stayed at this hotel. Our room was number 131 I recommend that no one ever stay there. The bed skirts I always check beds when I go to a hotel and mattresses unfortunately this time was not pleasant. There was blood and body fluid stains in excess on the bed skirts the box springs were clearly old and also had stains. The wall next to the bathroom had splatter on it brown of some nature not really sure what it was. The beds were also old mattresses. The bathroom was unnerving. The toilet seat was gouged and and scratched and worn and the front of the toilet was dirty with brown splatter and body hair. This is tough when you're exhausted and you're in a position where you have to stay somewhere because you can't drive any longer so we acquiesced and endured it wasn't horrible. Had to get an extra blanket it was very cold from the front desk even that blanket had some stains on it. There were also feral cats several of them all around the building that would scurry and Scamper as we tried to walk out to our car and they were around and under the cars and in the bushes. This hotel or at least the wing or the room we were in was in great need of updating it needed new beds new bedding clearly painting on the wall or washing of the wall and the bathroom toilet seat should have been replaced. The staff at this hotel are very nice and so the owner needs to part with a buck and invest in improving places. No gas should have been made to stay in that room. I could have requested a different room I didn't want to be difficult with the wonderful girl at the desk and so we simply we're too tired to deal with moving and unable to drive further to another hotel. Best Western needs to hold independent chain owners accountable for maintaining standards clean bed and bedding is number one a clean bathroom with a nice bathroom is all a weary traveler needs. This is a great location and clearly a well-used hotel the owner needs to just simply reinvest in it. I realize some guests can make a mess and that's not always an owner's fault but it was kind of gross. I would recommend you check out your room lift some bed skirts before you commit to staying at the hotel.

Best Western of Walterboro is conveniently located off I-95 and in walking distance of a good Ruby Tuesday restaurant. Our room was clean and comfortable on the first floor with parking in front of our door. Breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of food and a very hospitable attendant who went out of her way to be helpful. This was a great place to stop before resuming reaching our Florida destination.

Very good hotel and it's right behind a RUby Tuesday's so after a day of being in the car, you only have to walk next door to eat. Staff couldn't be more helpful since I had a problem with my gift cards, which they tried to solve and finally did.

Our room was clean and had a comfortable bed. Hot and cold breakfast buffet was included and the lady who ran the breakfast area was wonderful. Very helpful and cheerful. Our room was main floor facing the parking lot and the door was on the outside. There are no inside hallways. Outdoor swimming pool looked well maintained, and you can get rooms facing the pool if you want. Ruby Tuesday's is right across the parking lot and the food there is great. Possible downside - no staff on duty overnight. You have to be there by 10 pm to get your room.

Having no reservation and traveling with our dog this BW was able to give us a room-as there were several reservations on hold we accepted a second floor which we usually prefer a lower it was cozy and very clean lots of grassy area for walking r dog ( pet bags included ) . The grounds were clean. Our morning breakfast assisted by Miss Joanne started ur day with a smile and greeting great job. Check-in made pleasant as well. This stop is highlighted will be reserved for next year.

If at all available in the area I'm visiting I always choose a Best Western. Excellent breakfast, very courteous staff, great parking facilities, and always close to the event I'm attending. My next stop is Hallandale, Fl. of which I've been staying for the past 5 yrs. when I visit Gulfstream Park.

We stopped late in the night on a drive from Florida to Ohio. We just wonted something clean, safe and inexpensive with a breakfast so that we could get back on the road. This Best Western was perfect!

We found the hotel to be quite comfortable. Friendly staff and the complimentary breakfast was a lot of fun as the hotel hostess was entertaining and helpful. The food at breakfast was well prepared and the hostess kept the area very clean.

easy on/off route 95, decent, clean room, Ruby Tuesday within EASY walking distance of hotel, pleasant and easy check-in/out, decent complimentary breakfast, about $100.00 for the night,SUPERB breakfast attendant. We had to "backtrack" a little to find the gas station, but we will do better next time, as we now know where it is! We definately will put this one on our list!

Unfortunately left a laptop in room. When we called 7 hours later front desk person - who lied about being the general manager - said nothing was left in room but was quick to mention the brand of computer. Filed police report. corporate they could not help because facility was privately owned. Beware.....

Good location close to the interstate and appreciate the pet friendly policy. Do need to make sure that pet waste bags are available at all times. Egg patties for breakfast were cold but the lady doing the serving was very helpful and a joy to be with.

This is a convenient location right off of I95. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and is a good place especially if you have a pet. During my last stay our room was not very clean. Also the guest rooms could really use a makeover as far as carpeting and furniture. This could be a really nice property but the rooms are very dated.

Best hotel stay I had this trip. Room was clean and comfortable. It was a last minute stop and we were welcomed with a very friendly woman. The next morning breakfast was delicious and the woman working with breakfast was amazing! She was very helpful and friendly and even had us singing happy birthday to her co-worker! Really nice place!

We have two small dogs that travel back and forth to Florida with us every year. And because Best Western tend to be pet friendly, we often stay at them. We have stayed here numerous times and rooms had been tired the last couple years.I am pleased to say that rooms have been redone and this one was a very clean room, extremely comfortable bed.We will be back!

Suite room supposed to do a famiy, 3 towels not enough pillows or bedding for pull out couch . The good clean no highway noise. Not a bad stop for overnight stop. Good prices and beds comfortable. Restaurants and stores nearby

I stop at this hotel every year on my way down to Florida and I will continue to do so. The quality is very good for the price and breakfast is really enjoyable. May need some modernization, but overall it is ok.

Room was not at all clean. Internet was intermittent. Made reservation for king bed and needed ground floor can not do stairs. Got ground floor with 2 double beds . The price was way too high for what the quality if the room was. Will nit be back.

Two couples were on the way to Tenn. and used this as a stop off point. We arrived late on 10-17-2018, Had to use the night desk. Very quickly we were checked in. Room average not up to par as some Best Western I have stayed in the past needs some updating rugs cleaned. Bed was comfortable and enough towels provided. The best part was breakfast served by the best friendly lady ever. She made you want to get up just to see her. Smiling very helpful even made me a cinnamon Best Western Waffle. Coffee very good right way to start. Joann smiled the whole time and could not have been more attentive. This woman is a jewel at such a early morning. Desk manger in the morning also very friendly and would stay here again just for the breakfast humor.

Great place to spend a night. After traveling all day we like to stop here and have Ruby Tuesday's for supper. Then in the morning we enjoy a great breakfast at the hotel. This year we were greeted by the Breatkast Lady Mrs. Joanne and she made sure everyone felt welcome. She went out of her way to greet everyone and to see that they had everything they needed for their breakfast. She made everyone feel special. Great employee!!

The room served its purpose, however, it was not really handicapped equipped and posed several problems. The only motivating reason to stay there is the fact that it is pet friendly. Breakfast hours could have been a bit more convenient.

Have stayed at this property many times over the past several years, traveling to and from Florida. This property is in poor condition. Found part of bathroom ceiling had previously fallen. What remained showed black mold. Also saw mold in caulking around bathtub. Floor had not been vacuumed. Curtains had a buildup of dust on them. Could only connect to internet while standing. Immediately disconnected when I sat. Impossible to do any work. Never again!

This hotel charged me a cancellation fee even though i cancelled my FIRST room before 1pm and my SECOND room at 1:09. They said I broke the policy of before 1 pm cancellation. I had two rooms..it took a minute to process! Hey, Best Western of Walterboro....in an evacuation situation, your policy should become fluid. I will be following up with your corporate offices. Stay safe.

We spent three nights at this property during Hurricane Florence with our two small dogs. First, it was refreshing to find a place that didn't GOUGE us for bringing our fur-babies. The room was clean, (though in need of some upgrading,) and certainly adequate for our needs. The staff was pleasant and accommodating, and the breakfast attendant was outstanding in her desire to please. I understand that the impending storm may have had an effect on the WiFi signal, but this was a bit exasperating, since I had to use my cellphone data to keep on top of events, particularly road conditions and evac status for our return to Myrtle Beach. While many surrounding businesses were closing in advance of the rain event coming to this area, the hotel staff was attentive to our needs. This deserves kudos since even the adjacent McDonalds was closed.

We stayed at this hotel on our way home from Florida this past August. It reminded me of Hotels when I was a kid which is not bad but, Our rooms were very hot and it took the air conditioners a long time to cool the room down. I am not sure why they were turned off when we arrived unless they were trying to save on electricity. Rooms were tidy but did have a bit of a old smell. Neat pool in the courtyard easy to keep a eye on the kids. Convenient to the interstate. Will we stay here again probably not but. The staff were very friendly which was nice.

The employees are great. However due to the heavy rains in the area they are having drainage issues which causes the water in bathrooms to drain slowly. Found a few bugs in the room. No cable due to thunderstorm. I feel this should have been brought to our attention before check in.

Nice stay with clean and comfy rooms. There was a nice breakfast. Not far off i-95 and a few historical sites to see in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Basic amenities but a nice stopover place.

A nice hotel with good value for a evening as you travel. Breakfast was delicious, our beds very comfortable my laptop worked with speed, and it's one exit away from the vest fried chicken in Waltersboro.. They even gave a pool.

July 26 2018. Great and friendly check in clerk. Beyond that a disaster. The room smelled like a wet and dirty dog. Not a good smell. The bathroom had towels behind the door hanging from the previous guest, an oversite by the housekeeping besides not vacuming the room with evidence of dirt in corners. The breakfast is quickly removed at 9am on the dot. Upon returning to my room while having gathered my bill and letting the desk know that my keys will be left in my room when I check out in an hour and having DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON THE DOOR the housekeeper barges into the room NOT EVEN KNOCKING on the door, catching us by surprise. No appologies just an excuse that the front desk had said we had checked out. REGARDLESS. One knows especially since the front desk had given wrong information and no apologies rendered. Rude rude. Stay away

Omg I really enjoyed our stay here. The room was extra nice and so were the workers. Abram Brown(the manager) was so nice and very professional. He made sure we were well taken care of and very happy. It was a nice area also and very quiet. I would definitely return.

Clean rooms, the beds were comfortable. I travel with a pet. The area to walk my dog was well lit, and tidy . The staff was pleasant and friendly. I would stay here again . Joanne was very helpful and the breakfast selection was the best.

This hotel, from check in to check out was wonderful. It has easy access off I95; but despite its closeness to the interstate, it is very quiet and secure. We had coupons from the welcome center which really reduced the price of the room as well. Peyton checked us in and she was amazingly welcoming and accommodating. Our room was courtyard side and was very clean and quiet. Breakfast in the morning was hot, with egg wraps, sausage, sausage gravy w/biscuits, waffles, and then your standard continental breakfast options. Breakfast hostess, Miss Joann, was wonderful! She was ready to serve you and make your waffle for you-she was so helpful to an elderly woman who couldn't carry her items to the table. Really engaging with children. She had a “pat” greeting, but she meant it because her actions proved it, “her day WAS better now that you were in it”. We will make this our regular stop as we've experienced some poor options before along the interstate from higher priced/ranked hotels (my in laws had recommended this one as they've stopped here to stay for 6 years now).

Stopped for the night at this Best Western Hotel on the way back from vacation and we were not disappointed, we requested a king size bed and it was really nice and room was clean and the breakfast was really good has a lot of things to choose from. The staff was very friendly and took really good care of the guests

This was a first time visit here. Our room was neat and very clean. Breakfast was a delight because of the hostess, we went back again on our way home and were disappointed that she was off that Saturday. Food was fresh and good.

Best Western hotels were our normal "go to" while on the road. Usually clean, neat and good customer service. However, this last stay has turned us off from this hotel chain for good. We made our reservation through hotels.com and checked in late (almost midnight). Room was not clean, smelled damp, the shower chair that was in our bathroom (we were given a handicapped accessible room), actually had poop on it! Ugh! Needless to say, we were exhausted from a long drive, did not feel like walking back to the night window to complain and just needed to rest our heads for a few hours. Well here we are 8 days later and we are still battling a charge from Best Western! When we book via hotels.com, that's the charge that always shows up on our account. The next day we saw our charge from hotels.com AND another from Best Western. Best western refuses to refund us even though we paid before we arrived. Their front desk claims they show we booked via Expedia and that we have to take it up with them....no....we didn't book with Expedia. We've called the hotel, we've called the corporate reservations and no one can figure it out. The stay wasn't even worth the one night rate much less two. Beware!

We had a good time at the Hotel except for the maintenance!!! The first room we had the smoke alarm kept saying low battery. They moved us to another room and the toilet water level was so high that when you sat down you got wet(not Fun).

We make the drive between FL to MA twice a year with our 25 lb poodle/terrier mix and have stayed at several different pet friendly places, from the chains to family owned properties. This Best Western was the absolute worse experience we have had. Yes the place is pet friendly but it was downhill from there. Our room smelled like a kennel and the carpet was stained in several places. When i mentioned this to the checkout desk the gentleman stated that they do not update the pet friendly rooms. If it were not for the fact that the location was convenient, and we were able to have a few drinks at the Ruby Tuesday across the parking lot to dull our sense of smell, this rating would be even lower. I mighty add that the only positive thing worth noting with the free breakfast is that is was free.

While the hotel was decent, it seems older and in need of a little more attention, although it is obvious that some updating has been done. The only in-room issue was the shower area not being as clean as we would expect...there was pink and dark looking stuff in the corners that appeared may be the start of some mold. The breakfast was disappointing with very limited choices for the price we paid for this room. Not a terrible experience, and, if I needed a place to stay on this route again, I would probably still consider booking here.

This hotel is on I-95 about 30 miles south of the I-26 intersection, so handy for my Ohio friends coming to Florida. The staff here make it worth the stop. Friendly and efficient check-in and check-out. Breakfast (free) is the best I've seen in this level of accomodations: 3 choices of juices, waffle maker with all the fixings you can imagine, plenty of coffee and tea, yogurt, cereals, hot foods (sausage and eggs the day we were there). Joanne is there to keep everything stocked and clean. She's a burst of sunshine and energy and puts a smile on every guest by the time they leave. But don't plan to sleep in; breakfast ends at 9 am. The rooms are dated, but the bathroom (shower and toilet) is great. Sink is outside the toilet/shower so you can get ready there while your travel partner is showering. The countertop is large for 2+ sets of toiletries. There's a small refrigerator and a microwave, good TV choices. Beds were a bit soft. There is a small table and 2 chairs in the room. Did not hear road noises overnight, as this hotel is set back from the main highway, but easily accessed by I-95. There are a lot of restaurants at that exit, including a Ruby Tuesdays that you can walk to from the hotel without going on a road.

We got a great rate with a coupon in Hotel book from rest area. The hotel sets back off the highway, a Ruby Tuesdays is in front of it. The hotel had very good beds, great bath towels, good shower with good water pressure. Coffee service in room, with a micro and fridge. Good wifi. We were pleasantly surprised. The breakfast is typical, cereal and fruit, waffles, eggs, sausage. toast. juices. Good coffee!

Dated in all respects. Have stayed in pet friendly Best Westerns three times while traveling with dogs between homes in Florida and New York State. The one in Walterboro was poor in comparison to Savannah and Fredericksburg. Water damaged ceiling in Bathroom about to cave in. Bed mattresses old and lumpy. Room to small for the $$ paid. Looks and feels like it hasn't been refreshed since the 1960's AAA should rethink its rating and Best Western should revoke the Franchise or this one will give the rest a bad name

I needed a place to work on a project, and this Best Western offered a quiet place off the freeway, with a nice table and chairs, solid wifi, enough accessible plugs for electronic devices, and a really good breakfast. The waffles were crisp and tasty. Staff were personable, friendly and helpful, and seem happy at their jobs. Everything in the room worked: water was hot, the refrigerator cold, and the in-room coffee tolerable. The bed was comfy, and the sheets soft. I'd stay there again.

The room was not the cleanest and very outdated but it was acceptable. At close to 100$ per night, I would have expected a bit more. Check-in and Check-out was a good experience. Inet service was OK. I was not traveling with a pet and didn't realize this was a pet friendly hotel when I booked it. So, for people traveling with animals, this is probably a good value/option.

Surprise, surprise. Stopped sooner then planned. Found the Best Western, Walterboro, SC at exit 53 on I95 to be very, very nice. Totally enjoyed our stay on May 6, 2018. Next trip up the East Coast the Best Western in Walterboro will be a planned overnight STOP.

We've stayed here before on our way up to MA from Florida. It's a great location, right off 95. Their rates are fair, and the pet fee is only $15. They're right behind a Ruby Tuesday, so if that's a dinner option in walking distance without having to get into your car again. Rooms are fine, with a working minifrig. The breakfast is OK, but the lovely supervisor was a ray of sunshine.

Staying usually at a Best Western or at a competing chain in the same price range, this location and Best Western in general have certainly advanced to the top of our preference list over the past few years.

The location is perfect for traveling because it is right off the highway. The location is also right up the hill from a Ruby Tuesday's if you want to have a bite after checking in the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The employees were efficient and friendly. The breakfast was okay.

This was a regular Best Western, which is not very upscale. But, it is a clean, comfortable place to spend the night. There is a Ruby Tuesday restaurant right in front of the hotel that you can walk to, as well as a McDonald's and convenience store. The breakfast has a variety of items so you can eat healthy (yogurt and fruit) or indulge (waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy). It is a pet friendly hotel.

Good first day drive for a good night's rest on our way back to Canada. Comfortable beds, good internet, breakfast was ample for our needs. Love the fresh fruit. Location is tucked in so a nice quiet night as we requested a room on first floor and at back. Booked online to ensure a guaranteed room that first night which we were very happy we did, as there were so many traffic congestions along I95 that first day, which added 3 hours to our trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at Best Western in Walterboro, SC. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, the beds are ultra comfortable and provided us with a good nights sleep. There is a free hot breakfast of sausage patties, eggs, toast, Belgian waffles, cereals, bagels, juices, yogurt, and other items too numerous to mention. We will certainly return on our next trip south.

I stopped here driving from NJ to FL and this was all that I could ask for. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good. The staff was helpful. I have no complaints with my stay here. Great!!!!!

Making my annual trip from NJ to FLA and stayed at this location to break up the drive. Family of 5 travelling with a dog. Room was spacious (we were in a suite), beds were comfortable and the location was perfect for long drivers looking for some rest. I've stayed at a number of hotels up and down I-95 (including other BWs) so there are plenty of options. It doesn't take much for places like this to distinguish themselves from the competition. Not sure how long this location has been operating, but the rug looked and smelled like it was 25 years old. I know I make a choice to travel with a pet, but there are pet friendly hotels (even BWs) that are so clean you can't distinguish between a pet friendly room and a non-pet friendly room. Speak to your Lumberton, NC location. They do pet friendly rooms right! Hopefully someone will read this and update me on when or if the rugs will be replaced because I would come back and visit again if they did. Otherwise, with so many other options available on I-95, I will likely not come back.

WE chose this hotel on our trip home from FL. It was located just off 95 so it was really easy to find. The price was right. Unfortunately we picked up a nail in our fairly new tire soon after arriving. Stacie at the front desk really helped us locate an auto center and printed directions for us. We thought the breakfast was just ok. Yes, we would recommend this hotel.

I have been staying at BW Hotels rather frequently. This stay was unfortunately NOT up to standards. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed properly in a while, the sheets seemed to be NOT freshly laundered. Unfortunately the manager I talked to on the phone the next day had a very belligerent attitude.

This was one stop on a road trip heading back home. Convenient location, comfortable accommodations, clean. Restaurant/bar within walking distance. Good value compared to other hotels in the area. Rooms could be updated a bit, but clean and suited our needs nicely. Free breakfast.

Perfect. Right off highway. Nice green space to walk with dogs. Pet friendly rooms for our cat. Accessible rooms. Ground floor with parking by door to room. Nice courtyard with outdoor pool. If on 2nd floor, you need to walk up a short staircase. Good beds. Fridge and microwave. Tidy and nicely kept.

Dog friendly! Big area with lights and outside trash for walking dogs after a long, long car ride. Well lit. Older, but well kept. Friendly staff. I did a late check in and it was all super. Lots of other pets in the hotel. Single traver I never felt unsafe. Even at 11pm other folks were walking their dogs.

We stopped there on our way home from Florida to PA. The hotel is right off 95, and there are plenty of places to eat dinner. We have made this our go to hotel on our trips to Florida. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was hot and varied menu.

Our family was just passing through Walterboro on a return trip to Florida and ended up staying here at the Best Western for the evening. We were extremely happy with our stay and found it to be good value for the money. There location is great if you are looking for a quick bite to eat (within walking distance to a number of different restaurants) and a really decent breakfast is included with the room. Although it is your typical "hotel" sort of breakfast fair... there are a number of small things that are added that help the meal stand out from other hotels i.e.) chocolate chips for the waffles. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and honestly can't think of one thing that I was not happy with. The room was quite clean and the beds were comfortable.

This is a very good place to stay in Walterboro, SC. We had a good time and got a good night's sleep. The rooms are pretty good and the room rates are much lower than at other places. We will probably stay here again the next time we make this trip.

Quite weak in comparison to other Best Western hotels that we have stayed. Needs updating. Beds are needing replacement. Personnel had been over worked through winter storm. Short staffed as a result. Improvement will come when weather changes hopefully.

I stay at this hotel because they permit dogs. Rooms are set aside for guests with dogs. I have not detected any pet odors, but then my nose may be a little desensitized to pet smells. There are several areas to walk dogs and these areas are equipped with dog waste bags and receptacles. This hotel is my first choice when traveling from Maryland to Florida and back again.

From check in to check out the staff got it wrong. Never answers the phone, gave me a room that was already occupied, rooms reek of cigarettes! I hope I am able to find another pet friendly property in the area for when we travel next year.

We made this reservation online while travelling from West Virginia back to Florida. Chose this area because it is right off the interstate about half way to our destination, thought it was a good point to stop for the night. Lesson learned, not a good stop. Dirty, old building and way too expensive for the quality.

Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good, there were lots of different choices for food both hot and cold. The employee that set up breakfast was very patient with my kids and made sure they had plenty of choices. Wonderful stay.

We stop at the Best Western in Walterboro, N.C. regularly on our trip South each winter. They offer a Pet Friendly facility. The rooms are clean and more than adequate for the night. The breakfast offers a wide choice, Waffles, Cooked eggs and Sausage, Cold and Hot cereals, Yogurt, Coffee and Juices. A good Choice in Walterboro N.C.

This was a pet friendly hotel along our route to Florida. The pet fee was the most reasonable one we've found. However, along the walls of the room there was lots of pet hair from previous occupants. Even found an unwrapped Reese' peanut butter cup. The toilet ran every time you flushed it, and my husband let the staff know at check out. We were too tired to mention it while we were there. Sheets were clean, and honestly, that's all I needed.

The rooms are very clean and neat. The beds are comfortable. The price I paid was reasonable. The motel is located right off of I-95. There is an Applebees restaurant located a short walk in front of the motel.

Pet friendly. Enjoyed ferrell cats that are allowed to roam freely outside. Standard type breakfast. Had real butter but no danish rolls. Sausage greasy. Comfortable room but air conditioner somewhat noisy and the TV screen quite small. Location is very convenient to quick mart type stores, fast food places and one good restaurant. Good service by the staff. A little pricey.

We were very pleased with are stay at this facility. This motel is very well maintained and the room was very quiet and comfortable. Our original room had A/C issues and we were quickly accommodated to another room. If in the area we would stay there again. The only negative was a couple of stray cats but they didn't bother us!

I finally found the right place to stay during my snowbird trip to Florida. I will return each time I pass there. Employees are friendly, helpful and always smiling. Breakfast is nice for the price of the hotel and the bed is really comfortable.

Very satisfying motel visit overall; I would definitely recommend. Best Westerns along the I-95 corridor had dropped in quality during the 2010 - 2015 time period. In the past year there has been a noticeably positive improvement in that quality. In addition, the quality of the staff remains extremely high.

If a room with spider webs, backed-up plumbing and a worn, peeling toilet seat doesn't bother you, then this is the place for you. Just watch out and try not to step in the cat poop in the parking spaces from all the feral cats hanging around

Checkin was fairly quick despite arriving at nearly 11pm without a reservation. It would be nice if breakfast hours were posted in the room or near the checkin desk. We missed breakfast at checkout because we assumed it wasn't over until 10am on the weekends. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of parking. Room was quiet, despite being so close to the highway. This was the 2nd time we have stayed at this particular hotel. I'm sure we will be back again. Thank you!

Nice place to stay with Ruby Tuesday right there. We like Ruby Tuesday so it works well for us. We also like the breakfast that is ready to go at 6am. Plenty of breakfast food items plus juices and coffee and fruit. Nice room to eat breakfast also with good seating and tv to watch also

Picked this hotel to stop at based on other reviews. Stayed for 1 night and wish it was less. Very overpriced at $100. Dead roach on the floor, carpet was dirty and bugs on the walls. If it had not been so late, we would've left. Looked like a cheap motel. Not what we expected.

There's a whole pile of options at this exit, but this Best Western has become my go-to spot. Great service owing to hands-on management by the owner. If I ever have any problems (which is an extremely rare occurrence) they are taken care of almost immediately. I'm here three or more times a year, for anywhere from 4 to 6 nights at a time. Believe me if I wasn't happy, I'd certainly be looking elsewhere. But I've never needed to.

Very happy with the room, the staff and the continental breakfast. They staff was polite and friendly all the time. We were there because we had to evacuate from Melbourne Florida during hurricane Irma. We were tired of driving and found Best Western with vacancies available. not many other hotels were available. A little pricey. If I was planning something I would look for a hotel that was less then $100.00

We travel back to Florida every year in October. This was our first stay at this particular hotel but we surely will be staying there in the future. Always had good experiences at Best Western which is why it is my first choice.

Approaching hotel, we were quite put off by the initial appearance. Very institutional or old time motel appearance. Entering lobby, my mind was changed. Lobby is pleasant, desk clerk had a warm greeting and friendly attitude. This was an outside access hotel, which suited us just fine, as we had our dog with us. Across from our room was a pleasant open area, with a doggy station to dispose of clean up bags, which were also provided. Room was clean, with usual Best Western decor. Beds comfortable, with appropriate linen. Breakfast was adequate, usual hotel offerings, but enough variety to accommodate most tastes. I found it a little pricey for a Best Western non-suite, outside access hotel, but maybe it was in an area, like a resort area, which supported the price. Can't really say, as we were traveling back after Hurricane Irma, and weren't in the mood to explore. Give it a shot if you are in the area, it really isn't a bad hotel after you get past the initial impression. Staff is friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

Clean, dog friendly place to stay. Breakfast options were great and staff very friendly. We had a reservation and they knew we had a small dog and gave a us a room on first floor with easy access to green space.

Toilets running over, broken toilet seat, Fan in bathroom not working, dirty carpet, odor in room . Had to go to wall mart to buy spray to clean the air somewhat. We had to check out at 7pm that nite when the toilets were running over. Another thing the person at the desk at check out said nothing new the toilets always run over, he just will change our room. Then 2 doors away a lady was running out the door as her toilet was overflowing. He gave her a plunger to fix it. We just new we needed to leave. We stayed from Thursday 9-6 thru 9-11. This hotel needs a major change in management. We say at all BW and have never had one issue with any of them. Check our records how many times we have enjoyed your places

Stayed at this hotel for two nights to travel up to Santee and back because all rooms in that area were booked. Nice updated lobby, well kept hotel. Exterior areas and were in very good shape. and Exterior entrances to rooms with covered access to lobby/breakfast area. The rooms are clean and were service well. The standard room amenities, sink and vanity outside the bath. The rooms are very good, but showing their age and need renovating. Cell service in our room required us to go outside to use our phones. Internet service was excellent.

I stay at the Best Western primarily because they have a room with a roll-in shower that I can use without fear of falling. I travel alone and it is important to me that the staff, at all levels, is pleasant and helpful. Their breakfast is more than acceptable. I usually stay there twice a year and call them directly to make my reservation. The only flaw is that the wifi is a bit unreliable but this is Walterboro after all.

Stopped here during a recent business trip because it was raining too hard to see where I was driving. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff provided great service. If you find yourself in the area, be sure to consider Best Western for your stay.

Excellent location just off I-95, so a good option even if you're just passing by and need to get some sleep. Not a complaint. Good clean room with comfortable beds and a large mini-fridge to keep supplies cold. Pool area was very nice, although we didn't have time to enjoy it. All staff we dealt with were extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was better than the average complimentary motel breakfast. Wide selection and good quality. We probably paid a surcharged rate because it was the night before the total eclipse, but I would consider it a fairly priced value.

We did not enjoy our stay at this Motel, we had problems that were not addressed. Bugs in the bathroom, when I notified the front desk they said it was difficult to control that type of bug. Also our phone never worked and I had to have a member of my family call me on my cell phone for a wake up call. My card key was hard to use sometimes it worked and other times nothing. The breakfast was the best part of our stay. We are returning to Florida next week and I will skip this B/W and go to a sleep Inn in the same area.

This hotel provided clean, comfortable accommodations at a good price. All the staff members were very friendly and the complementary breakfast was adequate. The location is conveniently accessible to I-95. We were just passing through and only stayed 1 night but I would stay here again.

We stopped here after a long day on the road. We had a coupon but couldn't use it because we didn't want to climb the stairs to second floor. Too tired to go somewhere else we paid the $30 more. We had two beds. The rooms are dated but clean. Beds were very soft. It was just ok for a night.

VERY HELPFUL DESK CLERK,room was very good tv,worked ,fridge worked,shower ,toilet sink,all lights and air conditioning all worked great!! the only thing a little negative would be a large amount of day light seen around door to room could use a rubber seal to make room a little quieter!and help keep out any insects a little better although i didnt see any!.overall a very enjoyable stay!!

Room was clean enough, although the bathroom stunk like a locker room. Beds were okay, location close to highway was convenient for us. We only stayed one night - arrived after midnight and left before 9 am on our way home from a vacation in NC. Breakfast was very subpar - hard biscuits, disgusting sausage gravy, overly greasy sausage patties and not enough cereal variety, coffee was watery and tasted like instant coffee. We threw our food away and went down the street to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. If you're just passing through and need somewhere to sleep for the night before getting on the road again, this hotel is satisfactory.

This is not the best hotel in the area, but they take pets at a reasonable price, a real treat for those who do not want to leave fido at home. The rooms are clean, but dated. The breakfast is the usual middle of the road hotel type. No table clothes or real napkins, only lots of paper plates and cups.

My father is in a local nursing home and I am there visiting numerous times each year. I've found this hotel to be a perfect spot for my needs. Quiet, clean, reasonably priced, and excellent customer service (at times going above and beyond what one could reasonably expect from a hotel that primarily hosts the 'one night and gone' traveler).

The room , a suite, was large and inviting, mostly clean, and it provided everything we needed for the one night stay. Since I was traveling with my sister, it was great to have two bathrooms. The Ruby Tuesdays within walking distance just across the parking lot was an easy casual spot for our dinner. We have stayed here before and will probably stay here again on our next trip north.

We stay at this hotel 3 or 4 times a year on our way home for visits to PA good stopping point for us. This last time we stayed there was on July 25, We used reward points for this stay. Fist time I did this at this hotel. When we got home we found a $39.00 charge on our credit card for this hotel, Called hotel and man told me it should have come off as this is a prepaid charge for any Misc. items. SOP for this hotel. I guess they know my spending habits better then I do. I never charge anything to my room other than the room. Last time for this hotel for us.

It was okay. Nothing great, nothing horrible. The pool was dirty, it appeared the filter was not on. There was visible water damage in the shower. The rooms did have a refrigerator with a freezer, though the freezer did not actually freeze anything.

Very clean room and a great breakfast. We were on our way back from vacation and were looking for a clean room for a night. to our surprise the older hotel was completely renovated and had a very nice pool. Thanks for the great stay!!

My boyfriend and I were returning home from our vacation in Florida, and spent an overnight at the Best Western in Walterboro, SC. The hotel was nice, and convenient to I-95. It was good for a one-night stay.

I checked into the hotel very late that night, when I entered the room the AC was not on so I knew it would take a few hours to cool the room. I went to bed and woke up a few hours later (3:30-4:00am) and it was still as hot as it was when I walked in. I turned it down ever more but there was still warm air coming out the unit. The front desk manager said they could only take $10 off my room because I didn't call regarding the issue. I am not one to call when I had to get up in a few hours anyway just to more to another room (too mess up) and no be able to get back to sleep. I dealt with it for the few hours till I left. Was not happy with the way the front desk manager handled it at check out. I was not rude to him regarding the situation at all. The room was great besides the AC issue, I would expect a little bore back then $10.00.

Front desk went out of her way. It's walking distance to a resteruant. The pool was great for exercise and refreshing. Gas station is right there before you pull out onto the highway. I will definitely stop there again on my way to FL. This was my 2nd timeT this Hotel.

Used a discount coupon so got a 2nd floor room but that was fine by us. In room small fridge & microwave, table for 2, free WiFi, TV. We liked the softer kind of mattress. Very clean but worn, but again, fine by us. The breakfast was good - lots of choices. Right off the Interstate - however, even though our room faced the Interstate, no noise.

Slept soundly and used a hotel coupon from a coupon book that exits at every stop. Made the sleep even sweeter. I am also a BW rewards member and don't stay anywhere else! This staff was very helpful and friendly.

Try to make it to the Ga. border but it makes the trip so far so we picked Walterboro instead. Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Asked for a bottom floor and got it with no problem but it was a Monday...not a weekend. Bed were comfortable. Good hot breakfast the next morning. Walking distance to McDonald's and Ruby Tuesdays.

Was traveling long distance with my dog and needed a pet friendly hotel for the night. The room smelled terrible of pet urine and was not clean. I didn't sleep well nor did I shower in the morning. Never again.

We haven't stayed in a Best Western in years, we were completely satisfied with the friendly staff, totally renovated room, a great pool and the property was very clean. Coming from the Orlando area, it is very difficult for me to book a room online and trust the pictures, But this Best Western meet all my expectations...Great stay.

This Best Western was a hell hole. It was overpriced, not clean, hotter the hell. We were afraid to walk barefoot in the room. This place needs to be totally updated. The free breakfast was not eidable. I feel that Best Western has a nerve charging the money they do to stay in this place.

Major stains on bedding, dead bugs in windows behind curtains, mirrors and pictures streaked of gross drips that look like male bodily fluids and major dusty. They carved the bathroom door to fit around the toilet? Dead bugs in corners along with a crumbling and moldy ceiling. Ewww

I have been staying here for the last several years on my trip to the north and return to Florida. I had always been very happy with the hotel which is why I had routinely stayed here. On my return visit a couple of weeks ago, I was sitting on the bed on my computer and I felt something on my arm. I swatted it and it was a roach. I walked it down to the front office and they gave me another room next to the room I was in. The next morning as I was taking my things to the car, I saw a roach on the outside of another door to a room several doors down. I am sure that this is an issue for any such business but I hope they can get control of this problem.

The hotel was a needed stop for us. It seemed good from the outside. However, it was not very clean. Staff was quite friendly. The breakfast was really nice, and the attendant for breakfast was great. I wouldn't stay there again unless that was all that was available.

Good place to stop for a night. Friendliest desk clerk I've met in some time. since we had kids, she asked if we wanted a room facing the pool, which of course we did. Breakfast OK but gotta remember that this is a regular BW, not a plus or premier.

Enjoyed our 1 night stay. Very clean, and updated. Staff was easy to work with. Our 13 year old granddaughter, loved the pool. Called in the afternoon, to see if they had any non smoking double rooms left? Yes, they did, and told the gal, I wanted a first floor room, since my husband & I are in our mid seventies. She provided us with a delightful clean double bed room. Would come again.

Always most satisfactory. We stay there routinely on our trips to and from Florida, and most importantly this motel is extremely pet friendly. We can recommend it to anyone traveling with pets as long as they do not take our preferred room!

Husband and I traveling south to Florida (home) and we found this Best Western in the South Carolina Road book. Very good accommodations and location for travelers. Room was clean and comfortable and the shower was hot! Plenty of restaurants nearby without having to travel far. I would definitely stop here again while traveling away or to my home.

Stayed overnight! Received a $40.00 discount when we used a coupon provided to us by the South Carolina tourist office. The coupon is valid on rooms rented during the period of Sunday to Thursday. Quiet location right off the I-95. Room was clean and included a king size bed. A Ruby Tuesday restaurant is located within a short walk as well as a gas station and MacDonald's. Our room was located on the 2nd. floor, we enjoyed our stay, we would return to this motel. Breakfast is included in the price. Really convenient and economical.

After a long day of travel, this Best Western was a welcome site. Rooms were great, and having a restaurant next door to eat a nice dinner with a couple of drinks was perfect. The big bonus was the hot breakfest the next morning before we hit the road again. I highly recommend this place. Can't beat it for the price.

Check in & check out were easy, staff was all friendly. Room was pretty clean and beds and pillows comfortable. Breakfast was not good. Overall it's an average hotel with nice grounds however the area of Walterboro I would not recommend. It did not feel safe and I would not make a stop here again.

Carpet smell the humidity. Bed not clean.WIFI did not work in the room, cockroaches in the bathroom. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. very noisy from the poolside. Animals(dogs and cats everywhere.

Location was good, stopped on way to FL. Staff was very friendly. Cleanliness of room was poor Bloodstain on sheet and tub drain clogged with hair. Did not use other amenities. Probably would. It stay here again

We were here once before when traveling from Florida. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and nothing fancy. They are pet friendly if you travel with cats. Easy on and off the highway. Plenty of places to eat nearby and free breakfast at the hotel at 6am.

Cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Loved how clean the room was to include no dust in the air conditioner vents. The breakfast is more of a continental breakfast rather then a full breakfast. It was still good. Staff is friendly and dressed nicely.

Nothing fancy here but a good place to rest your head when traveling. Clean, quiet and easy to access. We were passing through and needed a good nights rest and found it here with no complaints. Rooms were a little outdated, but for the price, who can complain.

It was a little after 11:00 pm when I arrived at Best Western. The previous town's hotels were booked and I was tired of driving. The gentleman who assisted me here was very accommodating and sincere. I truly appreciated that. At first, he assigned me to a room on the 2nd floor but I told him I had a few small bags and unfortunately, a crazy issue with going down stairs. (I took a tumble some years ago and it just stayed with me!) He immediately looked for a ground floor room and even though it was 2 beds, could give me the same rate. I showed him my Best Western guest card- I think the rate was reduced more for that. Best Western is pet friendly and my Standard Poodle goes with me just about everywhere so I knew I had to find one. The fee is nominal so that's a plus for someone who has a well trained pet. One more thing about this Best Western being pet friendly as I plan on posting to BringFido.com is that across from my room-left side of the building- is a huge grassy area with trees. It sure was nice to be able to some doggy exercise in before hitting the road again! Thanks Best Western! I've always had a good experience staying with you and I hope I always will!

I travel with a pet which often makes the rooms iffy at best. When I checked in the woman behind the desk said, oh, you're the last one checking in. I misunderstood that to mean the last of the pet rooms, so when the room smelled bad, I thought I would just have to tough it out. As the night progressed I discovered that the toilet continued to run and rocked when you sat on it, the a/c sounded like a train every time it kicked on, and the shower and the sink barely drained. I discovered the shower just as I was going to bed so I called to complain. They offered me a room change, but at that time I didn't want to pack up all my stuff and my pet and move! The next morning I spoke to the manager and requested a refund. He told me I should have moved. I told him that rooms in that conditions should never be given to guests. I was not refunded my money. I checked out and left. I'll never use that Best Western again!

Besides poor counter service, coupons advertising a good price were not honored (holiday? December 22?), rooms were below a erase and we were charged more than we were quoted. The resolve was to crisis our BW Rewards with some points. Do not recommend this hotel at all.

It is a clean facility, good breakfast with many choices. Nice personnel. I had no wifi in the room despite claims it was there. Cell service was also very poor for ATT in this location. Had it at night, gone in daytime. May have been an ATT problem.

The place was in a great location near restaurants & gas stations. Hotel was very clean, the manager was very helpful. There was no elevator and they only had rooms on the second floor, so we had to walk up the staircase. Our knees were already milling us from the long drive from Disney. There were a group of college baseball team and cheerleading team, there were chaperones present but the college kids stayed up very late and were very loud. Everything else was great, they even have free breakfast from 6am-9am. I felt that the college kids should have been considerate.

I was traveling with my son's colllege baseball team. This hotel was perfect for us and was clean and a great value. The breakfast was great. Location is good too as there are several restaurants within walking distance.

Due diligence done; enjoyed the visit to Walterboro hotel. Breakfast was better than most on the trip home. Will stay at BW on my next trip. Will encourage other travelers to stay at this hotel. Upgrades are improvements necessary.

This hotel is one of the only who would accept our 4 cats, so we were grateful about that. However, the room was not real clean, the hotel was old and the main room door had a good sized gap in it, large enough for bugs to get in.

The grounds are well kept, spacious and ideal for families with a dog. Next door is Ruby Tuesday restaurant - food was excellent. Breakfast at hotel was very good and the coffee was excellent. Let them know if you're travelling with a dog and they'll give you a ground floor room.

Avoid Best Western hotel in Walterboro.SC. The hotel is an old hotel/motel that has been renovated with no elevators. The hotel does not its reservations; providing you with a certain type of room with king sized beds and upon arrival puts you in the room they have left. I would only stay there again if there was on other choice.

Nice hotel, clean and comfortable room, dog friendly (hard to find). Easy access to I-95 and has a restaurant in front that you can walk to, think it's a Ruby Tuesday's. Make reservations at both hotel and restaurant if you're going at prime time.

This Best Western hotel was very good, clean, comfortable and quiet right off the I95. Good breakfast in the morning. There was a restaurant walking distance for supper which made our late arrival even better

While making reservation with this hotel the agent was asking personal questions. Questions like; who will be visiting me during my stay? Will I have loud music playing in my room? Am I going to have traffic in and out of the parking lot? I don't think that was professional at all. I decided not to stay at this place at all. It's not that nice of a place anyway.

This was recommended by an agent from AAA. Very surprised as it was not a great place to stay. The room we were given was very small. The bathroom floor was dirty, the toilet seat was loose, the towels were very stiff and rough. The exterior of the building looks drab. We would not stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel during the evacuation of Hurricane Matthew from Hilton Head. We also had a new puppy three months old. This was an excellent experience except for one grumpy desk clerk. The owner, Ram and his wife and their staff did everything possible to make the situation comfortable. He even went to talk with the electrical crews working to restore power from downed trees so we would have a better idea when power would be restored. Considering the number of evacuated people and their pets, the owners and staff make extra effort to provide everyone with a pleasant stay. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. We stay for the most part at Best Western when we travel. We will never stay here again property was old and dirty, staff could care less. The ac wheezed like it was about to expire. There are enough places to stay in this area stay away

We were disappointed with this Best Western as when we entered the bathroom there was hair all along the baseboard.... There was also a stain on the pillow also... We should have realized that this was not going to be a great experience as when we pulled up the other hotels in the area were full and the Best Western looked half empty...

Right off the interstate in Walterboro, by Ruby Tuesday and MacDonalds. Convenient on and off and usually parking right by room. Staff nice, breakfast typical of this price range hotel, interior of rooms need updating... Dogs allowed, $15 each...

The location, cleanliness, and friendliness was perfect after a long day on the road. Breakfast included scrambled eggs and biscuits with a good gravy. We rested well and were set for our next day on the road.

Clean and reasonably priced.. Staff very accommodating. Plenty of choices available at breakfast buffet . If you're traveling with the pet there is plenty of dog walking space available and is well lit at night

This place has all you need for a nights stay on the road, but nothing more. It is quiet, and the beds are comfortable. I did sleep well. The breakfast, included, had a lot to choose from, including sausage. It looks like the place has new paint on the outside, and the parking lot redone. But the rooms are very small and dark. The free internet worked only about half the time. The nightly rate seemed high for the area and given that there are more modern motels near.

I stayed at Best Western on 10/15/16 checked out on 10/16/16 front desk person who checked us in was very nice at night I wanted some coffee I was told a coffee pot in the room. I wanted to check out early was told I cant get a receipt until 6 your night shift person need more train he is very rude

Stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean, thick sheets and towels nothing thread bear. But the rooms are extremely small. Staff is friendly but maid service is slow. Our maid didn't come till almost 5:00. By then I'd already straighten the room up and went and got my own coffee and towels. Breakfast is good a nice selection

I am happy to report that the Best Western Motel is a comfortable stay with pets. Nice clean rooms , wonderful breakfast in large lobby with beautiful park setting for pets. The employees and owner could not be nicer or more accommodating. I highly suggest this motel for future stays. Great restaurants and antique shops awaits you.

he room was very small. My walker would not fit between the desk or dresser and the foot end of the bed. The carpet was loose and curled up when we tried to open it. The staff and maintenance men were very helpful and very friendly.

An older motel that does not look like that. It is in beautiful condition inside and out. They have great bedding with several pillows, many channels on the tv and a restaurant and a McDonald's right out front. The breakfast has all of the usual items and many more including eggs and sausage. Nice newly paved parking lot with wide spaces. Very quiet.

This facility is very well kept up. It is a short to a restaurant and a fast food place(McDonalds). Very nice and well lit parking lot. The landscape and appearance is very appealing. I would recommend this property to an interstate traveler.

Our room was dirty and it smelled of dog/cat pee. We arrived late at night and left early morning so thankfully we only had to sleep there. Albeit sleeping with the stench was difficult, we were glad to have left.

I had problems with the wireless internet here, and Manager Ramesh went above and beyond the call in addressing my problems, to the extent of installing an additional access node to be sure I could always connect reliably. And then following up daily to ensure there were no further problems. The front desk staff across all shifts are also commended for their genuine Southern Hospitality. They treated everyone as if they were old friends and made certain any concerns were addressed with dispatch

Hotel staff at the reception desk was very impolite. Breakfast was awful, unable to eat the items (frozen). Not very clean. I wouldn´t recommend this hotel at all. Too expensive for the service they offer.

The Best Western Walterboro SC is a great place to stay, especially when traveling with pets. The pet rooms are on the first floor with outdoor access. The walking areas are large and well maintained. I always bring pet bags. In spite of not seeing a pet bag dispenser, the grounds were immaculate. The rooms look newly renovated and are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We did not have a chance to drive into town, but it looked charming and has lots of antiques. For a stop in SC, this is a great location.

I have to confess, if I had a choice I wouldn't stay in Walterboro again. The area looks run down, dirty and shady. I stopped in 4 hotels before settling on this one. It was clean and front desk staff was super nice. The room was in nice shape but, I found 2 spiders roaming around the bathroom. I felt the room was clean but, after seeing the spiders (not afraid of them) my perception changed. Overall not bad but only when comparing to the other hotels in this area. My advice, stay away from Walterboro. If you can't .... then make sure you know what you're getting into.

First the print bogus coupons as the do not tell you the rooms are in the back of the courtyard as a physically challenged person it be almost impossible for me to transport my baggage to the room they told me there were handicapped rooms available but the up charge was $30.00 plus. The desk clerk was nasty I decided to go to a better hotel and paid less money for a room that served my needs. By the way if management reads this I want them to know that I have stayed here at least twice a year for the past 12 years and this was the first time I was treated this way and the last as I will never be back here

Hotel Staff were very receptive and accommodating. The room was clean. A refrigerator and Microwave was provided for personal use. Coffee and an assortment of teas were provided as for or use. The linen were clean and smelling fresh and the bed neatly made. For Dinning out, a Ruby Tuesday and a McDonald are a few paces from this Best Western Breakfast was inviting and delicious. We enjoyed our stay at a good price. We recommend this Best Western to all travelers in the Walterboro, South Carolina area.

I picked up a coupon book at the SC welcome center. When I tried to make a reservation I was told by a very rude front desk agent that they don't take reservations if I was using a coupon. She stated that the rates in the coupon book were walk in only rates. I asked if they had vacancies for that evening. She curtly responded "yep"! We decided to take our chances and proceed to Walterboro. When we arrived at the hotel, I quickly realized that the woman behind the desk was the same rude agent I had spoken to that afternoon. She was no more courteous in person. She definitely needs an attitude adjustment! There were plenty of rooms available. Our room was clean and well stocked. The bed and pillows were comfortable. My only complaint with the room is that the air conditioner was extremely loud. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of hot and cold foods. The coffee was delicious and hot! And, the coupon made it a great deal. Aside from the rude front desk clerk, I would recommend the hotel for a one night stay!

we were moving to walterboro and our house had no power or water so we needed a place to stay, it was a holdiay weekend and this was all we could find.. to be honest we should have slept in our car. it was gross a pet room, had fleas and pet hair every where....

The staff were friendly. I arrived late and I had no problem checking in and getting a room. The room was very clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a good variety of hot and cold food choices.

Our car broke down on the way home from our vacation on 7/17/16 and we needed a place to stay while it was being repaired. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The manager, Rashi, allowed us to stay in our room until 1 pm while our car was being repaired. We ended up paying for a second night since the repair wasn't completed until late afternoon. Rashi checked in with us frequently to see if we needed anything and even offered us a ride to the repair shop since there was no local taxi services or public transportation.

The room was nice and reasonably clean, though not perfect. The staff was helpful. The bed was comfortable. The pool was closed in the daytime. The fitness room was nice. The breakfast was reasonably good. Plenty of parking.

The BEDS were a 7/10. They were newer models, free of sags/dips, and provided a decent nights sleep. The floors and even under the beds were incredibly clean; however, the counters, mirrors, TV and microwave had a film. Room included a mini fridge, microwave, and had a new granite vanity and granite shower walls. Also, a breakfast is included that featured sausage, eggs, waffles, cereal, fruit, muffins and various breads. We were very pleased with our stay at this Best Western and will stay here again as we travel we travel up and down I-95 on future trips. Our room was very clean and away from any road noise from the interstate or local road. It was also nice to have the Ruby Tuesdays so close by.

Stayed at the Best Western of Walterboro, South Carolina during the July 4, 2016 week for vacation. Excellent spot to stay, hotel staff friendly, clean hotel and pool with breakfast every morning in lobby area. Newspaper free and best of all they did have 6 smoking rooms which were very clean. Service was good and the rates very reasonable. This hotel is within an hour of Charleston, Savannah, Folly Beach, and Edisto Beach, SC. So convenient to many places with day trips for each day. Weather was very hot and very very humid. Coolest day was 97, hottest day was 99 but all days the heat index was over 104, but nice pool right outside your door.

This motel is the older style, with outside corridors, but it is clean, with good beds and the best pillows I've ever slept on in a motel. They are small and square, but firm, don't shrink to nothing under your head. The staff is friendly and the rates are great. A restaurant close by is another plus. This place deserves a stop if you need a good night's sleep and a clean place to stay.

I have stayed here numerous times and find it always clean, comfortable, great breakfast, staff extremely helpful and welcoming. I usually travel with my dog and even he loves it. He knows where "his" room is. Thank you for being there for us.

Rooms looked clean. Bathroom was clean. The beds however were worn down and you could feel the springs. The pillows were small squares the size of throw pillows. I have never seen that any ANY hotel before. The AC was old and LOUD. Everything combined made for a sore neck in the morning and little sleep. I was disappointed considering other reviews I had read. The breakfast looked good on paper, but it was almost inedible. The saving grace was the fresh waffle and coffee. The powdered microwave eggs were pretty bad and the drywall biscuits and gravy were even worse. The money they save on real pillows should allow for better food at breakfast. I will look somewhere else for a room next time. Oh, and don't be surprised if you go to check in and the clerk rolls her eyes because you walked in and makes you feel like you are bothering her.

Great place to stay, very clean. Pet Friendly! Good breakfast bar. Great stop over on the way to Daytona Beach, Florida. Staff is very friendly. Easy to make reservations on line...fast check in and check out.

It was fine, but small and hot and the beds are tiny with tiny pillows. The shower leaks & housekeeping knocks on the door before 8am. We arrived late into the evening and almost found a different place to stay because they NEVER answered the phone to confirm our reservation. Trip Advisor called. No one answered Trip Advisor's attempt to call either.

First stay they geve me the last room in the back with no WiFi. Second stay and after complain they give me room in the front to get WiFi but the air conditions was noisy. I wake up with headache. Rooms were clean one of the front desk stuff were unhelpful and working with attitude.

Pleasant place for a stop over. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Standard breakfast. Walk or drive to a number of restaurants. There is even a large fireworks shop next door....perfect for going north for the 4th!

This a very clean, quiet and comfortable hotel. It is a little older, but in great shape & well maintained. We stayed two years ago and were very pleased to see the breakfast area had been expanded to accommodate a few extra guests. Breakfast was very good.

A good place to stay- it had a reasonable price, decent food right out front, it was very quiet - no road noise, and decent beds. The front desk clerk was honest. All- in- all a good night. Breakfast was satisfactory - had a decent selection and presentation was the usual.

My wife and I stopped for the night during a trip to New England. Rooms are very small but clean and bright. My only issue (which I reported) was the A/C blows on you when it is on and that is really annoying. Very good breakfast buffet, which we took advantage of.

Outside of hotel clean and nice. Check in staff was awesome, she was friendly, helpful, and personable. The lobby was nice, clean. We were able to get the type of room we wanted. When we entered the room, immediately noticed 2 things: this is the smallest hotel room ever and the musty smell was overpowering. The air conditioner was so noisy and didn't work well. The air coming out of it was musty smelling. The bed linens were clean but the bed was very uncomfortable. Squishy soft mattress. There were spider webs in the corner above the bed. The bath tub was clean but was so slippery my husband almost fell. We ended up putting a towel on the bottom of the tub to prevent slipping. The carpet was dirty. There were 3 little bugs crawling on the ceiling. The carpet needs to be cleaned. I spilled something on the floor and took a washcloth to wipe up the spill and the washcloth came up dark gray where I wiped the carpet. The complimentary breakfast was very good. Wifi difficult to connect to. Remote control for tv didn't work, so we had to go to the front desk and we were given new batteries, still didn't work that great. Overall we felt this was a poor quality for the $99.00 a night room rate

For travels from Virginia to Florida, the Walterboro BW is a great mid-point stop. Rooms are newly renovated with clean rooms and good sleeping beds. The Ruby Tuesday in front of hotel is a great benefit for dinner. Breakfast in lobby is a good typical BW breakfast. The fruit toppings and whip cream for waffles is an added touch.

Very clean room and comfortable bed. Very quiet and staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again and seek this location in the future. The only issue that we had was the internet, could not get it to work. Would recommend this hotel.

This was a great location. There was a Ruby Tuesday in front of the hotel, Cracker Barrel a short distance away. Also a gas station in front of the hotel. Even though it was located just off of I-95 it was quiet in the room. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. My only complaint was the coffee maker was not working and that was a bit of a bummer when we were up at 4 am to continue our travel.

We Stopped here on the way to Florida and it was a nice place to rest till we got back on the road. Breakfast was just ok but it's better than pastries and juice. I'll recommend it to anyone that wants to go.

Arrived earlier to check in staff at desk kept rolling eyes. I found that horriable. The breakfast was cold left to go somewhere else for breakfast. We will not go back to this hotel where customer service was horriable.

Arrived here after a 7 hour drive. We were greeted nicely. The room was clean and the general appearance of the hotel was good. big issue I had was it was 87 degrees and the pool was closed. When I asked if it would be open no one knew anything. When leaving the next day I asked at the front about an attraction I saw a sign for on the way in and the person did not even know what I was talking about. Staff definitely not on the ball.

Stayed here twice, once on the way down to Florida and then again back. Breakfast was great, good price, decent area. Lobby snd breakfast area was easy to get to. Plenty of seating and good room with no weird smells,nice and clean.

Having a nice place to stay on a long trip is what we got with this hotel. Friendly staff, a good free breakfast and clean room. Definitely worth the reasonable price. Location is close to I-95, making it easy to get off and on the road the next day.

We were only there one night, but have stayed there many times over the last ten years or so. Every time it has been great, and we will stay there again and again. We do some birding in the area, and are traveling back and forth to New England or Florida when we stay. The Ruby Tuesday just up the drive is very handy for a good meal, and an asset to the hotel for sure.

We have stayed here before. We travel with our dog and understand that we will be put in a "pet" room. This trip, the room we were assigned just didn't seem as clean as in the past and had a wet pet odor. Hotel was pretty full, so we just put up with it. Also, there was a lot of furniture in a smaller room and the placement of the table and chairs prevented the AC from properly cooling the room. We had to shift all the furniture around to get it to really cool the room. The bed was comfortable, the internet and breakfast provided at no cost was good. Easy on and off I-95 and plenty of restaurants for dining.

Our first stay at this location it was ok.. Very nice breakfast not much room to sit though. Found internet ok in lobby but not in the assigned room. Would stay again but need the internet in the room. Room was very clean and bed comfortable . I do recommend some sort of non slip surface be placed in the shower tub as I almost slipped .
