« Great location - close to all you need to see by foot »

We went to Vienna for a weekend trip to visit Klimt in Belvedere Palace and Caravaggio in Kunsthistorisches Museum. We also wanted to walk around to nearby historical sites. Public transportation ie. metro is nearby the hotel at Karlsplatz should one want to avail of it.The Christmas markets were open; the largest being at the Rathaus. Luckily the weather was on our side. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast is one of the best I have seen offered in a European hotel. The room was immaculate and a very comfortable size. We arrived by car and pre-booked a parking space; thus upon arrival the valet looked after parking our car for the weekend. Very positive experience at this hotel and would happily stay there again.

« Great hotel and friendly staff »

Myself and 8 other friends came to stay to celebrate a big birthday and this hotel was an excellent choice In a quiet location but about 10 minutes walk to the main areas The hotel was lovely and clean and we did have a variety of rooms from small to a suite , the only downside was three of us in the smaller room was a bit of a squeeze However aside from that the facilities are excellent , breakfast delicious and the staff really made this place . They were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble . We even had a cake left by the hotel in the room of the birthday "boy" which was another nice touch I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for anyone visiting lovely Vienna !

« An imperial residence in probably Europe's most beautiful city! »

The hotel is located ideally in the city center, very close to Karlsplatz. You would expect parking to be an issue, but the hotel has reserved 15 spots in a nearby parking garage, and the piccolo will park your car there. If you wish to use your car again, just ring up the reception desk, and the piccolo will bring your car to the hotel within 15 minutes! As the name of the hotel implies, the interior is centered around the Austrian emperors, with a focus on Princess Sissi, of course. These decorations take you back to the great Austria-Hungarian times. The breakfast is fabulous! As is the coffee they serve with it. After our breakfast, we had a nice chat with one of the waitresses, who was from Poland originally. The staff in general were all very nice and friendly. This was my second visit to the former capital of Austria-Hungary. That historical heritage makes it worthwhile to simply wander around the city (center) and stare in amazement at the many beautiful old buildings. Especially this period, mid-November until Sylvester, is the perfect time to visit Vienna, because the city is already completely in a Christmas mood, with Weihnachtsmarkten everywhere.

« Step back in time »

The room was a little dated, and not in a good way. I expected more from this hotel and was a little disappointed in what I got. The room was dusty and smallish and the bathroom was tiny. The bed was comfortable and the wifi was great. From the check in experience, the concierge was quite rude and threw pamphlets at me for sightseeing. The bell boy was friendly, as were the cleaning staff and the female concierge when I was checking out. My swipe card constantly failed which was an inconvenience. the location is slightly away from the action. The breakfast bar and staff made up for the shortcomings of the hotel. A generous selection of breakfast foods and very friendly and attentive staff.

« Very elegant and well placed hotel »

Very nice clean rooms. The bar area is very comfortable with good service. The breakfast buffet was excellent quality with a good variety of food. Be aware that the only food served at other times are bar snacks. So enough if you are hungry and dot want to go out but not a restaurant. Location is just out of the main area, which makes it quiet. The underground is about a 5 minutes walk and opera no more than 10. We would definitely use this hotel again.

    « 4 day stay with family »

Out of all the European capitals this was our first visit to Vienna. The Best Western Kaiserhof was a wonderful hotel, perfect for our needs. Placed just outside the main City Centre it offered impeccable credentials. Just down a side street ( very quiet ) was only 5/7 mins walk to the Opera House, about 7/9 mins walk to the main Cathedral and main precinct area, shops, restaurants, bars etc etc Ideal. I/we have stayed in Capital cities throughout Europe many times, this establishment is in the top 3. It is immaculate through all of the building. The decoration, cleanliness was perfect. Breakfast was a huge display of may foods, catering for all nationalities, you could eat yourself silly here. Our ground floor bedroom was tastefully decorated, huge bed, great TV, shower etc etc. Another place of cleanliness you would think the place was brand new! Staff were brill, all fluent English too. Vienna is not cheap, be aware.

    « Excellent Stay »

We had an excellent 4 days at this lovely hotel which has an amazing staff, superb hospitality and very comfortable rooms. We had young children with us so took the suite on the 6th floor. It was spacious with an extra bed, a big bathroom with heated floors. The breakfast in the morning was lavish and elaborate. The staff at the restaurant was extremely polite and very attentive. Location is fantastic as well. Minutes walk from the metro and the historic centre of Vienna. It is also minutes walking from the Naschmarkt which has great stalls, street food and one of the best Asian food I've had. We had our dinner mostly every night there and walked back to the hotel.

    « 4 Day Break »

Just returned from a wonderful 4 days at the Kaiserhof Hotel and Vienna. The hotel's location is perfect as it's close to the centre of Vienna, transport links and also a number of eateries. The customer service we received from every member of staff was 1st class and everyone seemed to enjoy their role. Our room was ample for two adults and also our daughter on the extra bed. The room and the entire hotel was spotless throughout our stay. The breakfast was superb and set us up each day for our travels around the beautiful city of Vienna. There are many hotels in the centre of the city but we are so glad we chose the Kaiserhof!

    « "Superb hotel" »

The Kaiserhof Hotel is Superb, we had a city break in Vienna from the 24th - 27th October 16 and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are very comfortable and very clean and also well equipped. We stayed in room 013 on the ground floor and it was perfect. The breakfast was a real treat; the selection and quality of food on offer was exceptional. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful city of Vienna, only a steady 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the centre of the city. When we return to Vienna we will definatley stay in The Kaiserhof Hotel.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Hotel is located within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance to the center. Rooms are very nice and well maintained. Breakfast is also very well stocked with variety of foods for all taste . Staff are generally helpful and friendly. Cost can be on the high side depending on season and how far advance you book.

« What an amazing experience! »

We stayed here for 3 nights during our visit to Vienna and the experience was unforgettable! Right from Mr. Jahannes Rudrof, the pleasant and ever smiling front desk Manager to every staff , made our stay truly memorable! The hotel rooms are large and extremely clean, the quality of food was superb and more importantly, the hotel is very well located close to Ringstrasse, the heart of Vienna. I wish the very best to the team and hope I come back again!

    « Excellent hotel for a city break - breakfast a highlight! »

This was our first trip to Vienna and so I researched Trip Advisor for somewhere reasonably central but not within the absolute central area (inside the Ringstrasse). The Kaiserhof was ideally situated, a flat and easy 10mins walk from the State Opera and a further 5mins walk to St Stephens. Trams were within 100m and U-Bahn 250m. The hotel itself lived up to the Best Western Premier brand and we felt represented good value for money, especially since we booked 6 weeks before and paid up front via the web saver tariff. The front desk staff were unfailingly pleasant and friendly; our room was on the ground floor, exceptionally quiet and of good size. It was well equipped, with very comfortable bed and pillows, and had TWO separate bathrooms (actually showers in each) - a first for us and really useful! There was also plenty of cupboard space and two in-room safes. Breakfast was a real highlight; the range and quality was the very best that we have experienced, again with pleasantly attentive staff. We would whole-heartedly recommend the Kaiserhof and would undoubtedly return if we are in Vienna in the future.

    « The best hotel »

This hotel is a best hotel in Wien. I am regular guest and ever I have been satisfied with all. The welcome present was amazing. The home made product at breakfast are still famouse. Not far from Stadt park for morning running.

« Old world charm, up to date facilities »

This is a hotel with Viennese charm. The location is perfect in a quiet street on walking distance from most of the sights, like the Museumsquartier, Hofburg, State Opera and city centre, Karlskirche and Naschmarkt. Staff is friendly and attentive. The buffet breakfast is exceptionally good! There is a cosy bar for a drink. We had a business type room on the 5th floor which is more spacious with a fine bathroom, minibar, safe, free Wifi and coffee/tea facilities. I can definitely recommend this hotel for a city or business trip.

    5
    « Wonderful hotel »

My wife & I have stayed at Hotel Kaiserhof in Vienna a number of times & love it. The service is excellent, I do not know of better service anywhere. The hotel is extremely well located as it is walking distance from the oldest parts of town, the Danube & concert halls. Thank you Hotel Kaiserhof for another wonderful holiday.

« Superb ideal place to stay in Vienna »

this is an ideal location to stay near some lovely restaurants , can walk to most places but also very near to underground and tram stops. Now the hotel ,all staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, rooms were very clean and comfortable and even had umbrellas in the room in case of rain . The breakfast was superb, fresh flowers everywhere. And when trying to find any fault all I can say is towels could have been fluffier and they took my. Flannel and didn't replace. Otherwise. ......no faults or complaints at all, hope they keep this standard up

    « Overnight »

Great hotel. Great location and very clean. Breakfast was delicious with a wide selection of foods. When I first saw the bed I thought I was in for a sleepless night but was it was surprisingly comfortable. I will stay at this hotel when next in Vienna.

    « Loved the Kaiserhof »

I didn't want to spend the money to stay closer to the Stephansplatz and found that this location 10 minute walk to the Opera was great. Very nice breakfast and another well staffed front desk. We enjoyed Vienna and this boutique hotel was perfect for us.

    5
« Classy hotel close to Opera House »

We loved this hotel. Very clean and beautiful. Staff were very friendly and accommodating especially the manager. Only less than 10 minute walk to Opera House. It had a great breakfast. It was very close to a main street and we felt very safe.

    « Superb »

Stayed in a Junior Suite with my partner and our 3 year old twins. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast was also faultless with the coffee particularly good. The staff of this hotel need to be commended for their hospitality too as they were really very helpful and polite. In terms of location, the hotel is a short easy walk to the city centre and a 5 minute walk from the Karlsplatz station (go straight ahead from the Ressellpark exit). There is also a super market a minute away and an excellent outdoor food market very near here. The only possible improvement is to the gym area and I left recommendations about that with the front desk. Definitely deserves a 5 star rating and will be a first choice on the next visit to Vienna.

    « Superb experience! »

This Best Western was located near the museum and theater district, within about three blocks of the Subway. Very convenient, a one or three day transit pass will get you anywhere you want to go. The buffet breakfast with service was outstanding, maybe the best hotel breakfast buffet I've ever had. All the service people were great, I'd call this a solid 4 star experience, unlike most BWs in the U.S., which fall closer to 3 stars. My only concern would be AC in the summer, the room was quite warm despite below-average outside temps in October.

    3
« excellent location, great breakfast (3 and a half stars) »

this hotel has a baroque, weathered feel to it. I've only stayed for a night during a business trip. Its situated at the center, just 5 minutes from Karlsplatz and the Opera. The only downside was the size of the room (and the fact that it was situated in the ground floor). I was booked into a single room which was small for my taste. The bathroom was quite spacious though. Other than that, I have no complaints. The room was clean and very well equipped (an umbrella was even available). The temperature was fine and the mattress/pillows were also very comfy Staff were very polite and helpful, I must say, at times, it felt a little bit like an act. I especially enjoyed breakfast: a hearty selection of organic products. I wouldn't mind staying over again, hopefully in a bigger room (at a higher floor)

« First rate service, room quality and location »

We were fortunate enough to have booked this hotel off the internet and am I ever glad we did. The hotel location is no more than an easy 10 minute walk to the Opera House in the old town section of Vienna. Our room was the Admiral Suite and it had to rank as one of the finest suites we have ever stayed in over our 12 years of travelling to Europe. From the bath tub in the bedroom area to the very comfortable bed to the seating area outside the bedroom to the vaulted ceilings and electric window coverings this room was a dream. In addition I have to say that the staff were as high quality as this hotel. In particular Christa was a wonderful wonderful lady to work with. She always had a great smile and helped us with supper reservations as well as recommendations of things to see and do. She went over and above in helping us with our airline booking and transportation arrangements. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

« One of the best places to stay in Vienna »

If you are looking for a traditional, classic, up-scale hotel in Vienna, which is affordable, here you go. Centrally located next to Karlsplatz and Kärntner Strasse. Very nice rooms, great beds, fantastic breakfast and most of all, exceptionally attentive, friendly and caring staff. A real Viennese hospitality experience!

    5
    « Simply great »

This hotel is a little unprepossessing from the outside but its location in a side street makes it very quiet, and yet it is only ten minutes walk from the Opera House and only slightly further to the Belvedere. It is also very conveniently placed for tram and underground transport. Inside, the welcome is genuinely warm and personal, the service is ultra efficient and the rooms are very comfortable. The bedrooms even have tea and coffee making facilities, which is still not that common in hotels like this in Europe. Another touch I liked was the provision of an electrical socket which stays live when the room key is removed from the master switch, so you can leave devices to charge while you are out. The breakfast buffet is splendid, posing significant challenges for decision-making first thing in the morning. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but snacks and light meals are served in the very cosy bar and there are several good places to eat nearby, including Wiener Wiaz Haus and Artner.

    « Fantastic hotel »

This hotel is fantastic we enjoyed every day of our five day stay The staff are very attentive.Rooms are very well taken care off . There is nothing not to like about Hotel Kaiserhof Wien will visit again.

    « Vacation to Vienna »

Overall great service from entire staff. Would recommend to others. Breakfast was excellent. Staff went out of their way to provide a great experience. Gave excellent recommendations on where to go for dinner and specialty shops when asked. Hand written welcome letter with recommendations in room when we checked in was a big help.

    « Wonderful Find! »

Thought I had stayed at this property previously but turned out not to be the case. Just a tad disappointed from the street....and then I entered the property. Extremely well appointed and what a glorious staff. So courteous and helpful. Couldn't have been more gracious. Room was spacious with all the expected amenities. Found the TV clicker, but it took a bit to find the TV. Lovely orange and yellow double panel painting on the front wall...turns out it slides to reveal the TV. Clever! The furnishings in the room are first rate and should not receive short shrift.

    5
    « Lovely! »

Spent three nights at the Hotel Kaiserhof and our stay was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. Overall the hotel has an elegant, classy feel. The breakfasts were sensational. Lots of options to start your day. The location of the hotel is ideal. Close enough to the city to walk, or trams and trains are close by for further trips around Vienna. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

    5
    « Wonderful hotel »

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in this hotel with lovely breakfast selection and very attentive staff. Will definitely return to Vienna and this hotel. Lots to see in Vienna and recommend using the vienna pass to get around the city.

I certainly have no problem recommending this hotel. It has all the things I have come to expect from BW in Europe and it did not disappoint. The staff were wonderful and helpful and the facilities spotless.

The location is very good, a short walk to the Opera House, and bus stops. The management are so welcoming, the rooms, so comfortable, clean,a delight to walk into.we always look forward to the lovely feeling of confidence with this hotel..

    « Excellent »

Great hotel and good location, just on the edge of the centre close to trains and trams. Room was spotlessly clean and very quiet. Good variety for breakfast serving fruit, cereal, continental and full English! Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly, highly recommended!

« Nice hotel with lovely breakfast »

We stayed in this hotel from 10 to 14 September 2016. The hotel is lovely and clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast fabulous. Quite near centre of Vienna with shortish walk to Opera House. Weather was beautiful which made our break even more special. It was my husband's 60th birthday the day before we arrived and the hotel very kindly gave him a scrummy chocolate cake to celebrate. Only small thing was that the air conditioning was not that cool. Our thanks to them for a beautiful stay.

    5
    « A great experience »

Perfectly placed to explore Vienna, close to the central attractions and the underground. Our room was very comfortable, breakfasts were varied with plenty of choice, and the staff were always friendly and helpful, After a hard days sightseeing always a pleasure to come back to. Would not hesitate to stay again.

    4
    « Nice location »

Kaiserhof is just outside the city centre (short walk) and therefore benefits from a quiet location. It is a nice hotel but unfortunately when we arrived the temperatures outside were 30-31 degrees and the air conditioning really served no purpose other than to make noise! Breakfast was a bit hit and miss with replenishments of items used up not actually occurring, so if you didn't come to breakfast early it was pot luck I'm afraid.

    5
    « Fantastic »

This is one of the best hotel I have been to. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff is extremely friendly from ordering a place in the restaurant to giving advice what to eat. Breakfast is superb in a beautiful set up. Care is taken to details from a chcolate bar on your pillow to a bottle of water in your room. The hotel is conventiently located 5 minutes from the center. Great value for money! I will be back here for sure

    5
    « A great hotel »

Great on many levels - great location, within walking distance of the central attractions; great well planned rooms; great breakfasts; and most of all a great staff team, all of whom were so very friendly and helpful. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else if we returned to Vienna.

    4
« A good central location and very friendly hotel »

The hotel is just a short walk from a major underground station. We spent four nights in a most comfortable suite on the fifth floor. There were two televisions in the suite but sadly no dressing table with a mirror above to put on make-up All the staff we came across were extremely helpful and pleasant. The 'Snack Bar' food was first class and served without delay.

    5
« Really Enjoyed our stay »

We stayed at the Kaiserhof during the last week in August 2016. The staff members at reception were always extremely nice and helpful (especially Fr. Christa). The room was very clean and quiet. Wi-fi strength was excellent. The housekeeping staff were very nice too. Breakfast was very good, well replenished and pleasantly served. Minor touches, like helpful hints for tourists printed daily as a newsletter, really helped us exlore the city and surroundings. The location, near the University and a big church, and within walking distance of many city attractions, suited us very well. We loved Vienna and would very much like to return and stay at the Kaiserhof again.

« Sometimes it's the small things that Matter! »

Just spent 5 nights in Kaiserhof - weather very warm - air conditioning very poor, so room was very uncomfortable. Room was a good size but decor seemed dated.Beds firm and not very comfortable. Not generous with towels but staff tried to help when requested. Breakfast was good if you were early, however at later breakfasts food did not seem to be replenished, which spoiled things a little. Staff at reception always helpful. Cleanliness was of very high standard.

    5
    « A perfect Vienna base »

We recently spent 4 nights at this hotel and were delighted. We had one of the Madam rooms which was spacious, well appointed and blissfully quiet. The buffet breakfasts were varied and excellent. The Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and assisted us well with restaurants and general directions. We would certainly stay at this hotel again.

    5
« First Time in Vienna and loved the hotel »

I spent 3 days with my wife and friends during our European tour and decided to book in the Best Western. We are so happy we chose this hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff were excellent from day 1 and the food at the hotel was to die for. The hotel is located within a short distance from the State Opera. It's also close to the Ringstrake Blvd which has plenty of shops and restaurants to visit. Hotel is also close to the metro and tram. Highly recommended

    5
    « Our fifth visit »

This was our fifth stay at The Kaiserhof and it maintains its consistently high standards. The staff are marvellous. Very well informed, efficient and helpful. As always the room was spotlessly clean, well appointed and very comfortable. We stay in hotels on a regular basis and the Kaiserhof is simply one of the best. We will be returning next year. What more can I say.

    5
    « A First Class Hotel »

My wife and I, together with two friends stayed on 4 September for four nights bed and breakfast. The service in all areas of the hotel was exceptional. From Reception, the bar, dining room and room maid service we were delighted with the standard maintained. Our room (407) was as nice as it gets, and features in the hotel brochure. Location was about ten minutes walk from city centre but as there were plenty of bars, restaurants and other eating places in the area around the hotel we had plenty of choice around our base. The overall experience in the hotel was as good as I have experienced in most other good hotels around the world, when on business or staying on holiday. The only thing that could have been improved was the weather as we had rain on two days but that didn't detract from the pleasurable stay we had at this fine hotel.

    5
    « Amazing breakfast buffet »

Great hotel in comfortable walking distance to the centre of town and other attractions. Very helpful hostess/concierge at front desk. Generous and delicious breakfast buffet with an outstanding selection. Room clean and comfortable, very quiet and had a great night's sleep.

    5
« Great base to explore Vienna »

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in August to explore the sights of Vienna. The hotel is situated perhaps 15 minutes walk from Stephansplatz and the same from the museum area. We prefer to walk if possible so this was ideal. The staff was attentive and friendly at all times, welcoming us with a drink of choice on arrival - a beer and a prosecco. The car has parking which you need to reserve in advance, we never saw it though as you just hand your keys to the porter and he drops it off and collects it for you. The room we stayed in was comfortable with a good bathroom and, although not particularly spacious and more of a business vibe, was perfect for our requirements. Breakfast was very good with again just the right amount of attention from the staff. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again next time.

    5
    « Wonderful!!! »

What a great hotel with an awesome location to all the attractions. We were greeted with such wonderful hospitality on check in and were given some very helpful tips and information. This hotel is beautiful, charming, historical, elegant and plush. Our room was very nice and comfortable with all the amenities. The breakfast in the morning was suburb with many varieties and choices. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone else

    5
    « Very Pleasant »

The hotel is in a very good location close to the park and within walking distance to all the major attractions. the desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with double sinks. The included breakfast was very nice and the room itself quaint and charming.

« Good location, high quality hotel »

Hotel is in a good location in Wien. You can easily walk to the center of the city. Room quality is high and it was clean. Reception was fast and smiley, we didn't face with a problem. We left olur car to the reception and they took care about parking to the garage of the hotel. What I like about the hotel is too much and I don't want to tell one by one. What I don't like about the hotel is: 1) Parking is not free, 22 EUR per night. It was surprising to learn that during check out. 2) Breakfast is average. No many choices, no enough hot food (if you don't eat pork especially), no enough replenishment for consumed food (we had to share one slice of cheese with another guest since there was only one) I am writing these to make the hotel better. I recommend to stay in Kaiserhof.

    5
    « A Vienna Holiday »

We were very pleased with Best Western Premier Kaiserhof Wien, both because the service and room were excellent, and the Kaiserplatz location was central to downtown Vienna. We could walk to most attractions, or catch public transportation. The breakfast was excellent and started your day correctly. We were given extensive help at the front desk, day and night, which allowed us to enjoy Vienna to its utmost. We will definitely return.

    4
    « A wonderful experience! »

Very welcoming hotel and staff. Great breakfast buffet with good varieties. The classic musics played during the breakfast time was absolutely awsome. The daily notes during the breakfast time introducing 3 attraction spots in Wien was a unique service. Clean and modern design. Well-located, 5-10 minutes walking distantance from the city center and a lot of attraction spots. The hotel could have improved on the following: A bigger, more advanced and facilitated equipments.

    4
    « Great location »

Nice big comfortable rooms, a good breakfast buffet, helpful staff and a great location. We stayed here for two days in August 16. Nothing distinctive, but I would say a very comfortable stay. Easy access to the metro and tram lines and walking distance from most parts of Vienna.

    4
« Great location and friendly staff »

The hotel was very nice and every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Every restaurant recommendation we received was a great choice. I had concerns about the location when booking, but it ended up being fantastic especially with a U-bahn stop being close by. Breakfast was wonderful and a great way to start the day!

« Great location, a very nice hotel. »

My husband, adult daughter and myself stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in early August 2016. The room was very clean and comfortable. They brought in an extra bed and we still had plenty of room in a regular classic room. The location was great, we walked to the city center and also to the train station. The concierge was very helpful, making dinner reservations and answering questions about various destinations. The breakfast was very good also. They had the typical eggs, sausage, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, jams, NUTELLA :-), cereals, yogurts, breads, danish, cakes etc. They also would put out at least one thing that was different everyday. My daughter is gluten free and we just mentioned it one morning and every morning from then on, once they saw her, they brought her a basket of gluten free items. She was VERY happy. One thing to note, it wasn't a problem for us, but just to be aware, the room did come with a bathtub and it was fairly high. So to take a shower you had to climb in. We had a very pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel.

« one of best hotels in vienna »

This was our third visit to Kaiserhof. We have decided to stay here, when we are in Vienna. The room is spacious and we can be relaxed there. The staff are very kind and friendly. At the breakfast restaurant we can enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and delicious meal, which we can start the day with a glass of sparkling wine. The hotel location is about 10 minutes' slow-walk from Karlsplatz subway station.

« Nice location for sight seeing; nice breakfast »

I stayed here on a weekend between two business trips. It was a short walking distance from the Saturday market, from the Opera house, from the train station. There's a small grocery store a few blocks away as well. Room was typical for Europe. Small but very functional. Bathroom was fine. Nice toiletries. Had a bathtub. Wifi was included. Breakfast was included and there was a large spread of food and beverages. Fresh squeezed orange juice. They also had chilled water in the lobby and moist towelettes which was a nice touch. My co-worker was updated to the Admiral's Suite (Room 11) and it was huge and fancy. The one thing I did not care for was their "gym". I use that term loosely. The room had a bicycle and some weights. It was really hot in the room and I couldn't find a way to get any air conditioning in there. Since I was walking outside a lot, I didn't really care but the gym could be improved.

    « We'll never forget the breakfast »

To find a very good hotel in a big city without ruin your budget is always difficult. But in Vienna we did! This hotel is just a short stroll from the city centre and it's located in a quiet and very nice street. The room was lovely and the service in the reception was very good. But what impressed us most was the breakfast. The breakfast buffet it self was really tempting and delicious. But even more did the breakfast personal impress us. They asked us several times if we needed anything more and one of the waitresses was singing as she worked! They really loved to help the guests. When you visit Vienna, don't even think of staying anywhere else.

« Great hotel for exploring Vienna »

Best Western Premier Kaiserhof Wien, Austria is a great hotel for exploring Vienna. It's located in a quiet area. The check in was easy and front desk was polite, the room was large and so were the two bathrooms.. Yes I said two bathrooms! The room actually had two full bathrooms with full sink and showers. I have never seen that before in Europe where rooms are normally small but it was a nice plus and made the room seem even bigger. I booked the lowest rate room on line and don't think we got an upgrade but maybe we did. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices and we especially loved the organic fresh honey which was still on the hive. It was so delicious on the croissants! I'm not a big croissant person but with the honey on top I think I ate four of them the first day.. I'm sure I worked it off walking the city...The AC was strong and wifi was good as well. Since we departed the hotel at 4am and had to miss the awesome breakfast on our last day the hotel made us box breakfasts with hot chocolate to drink for our long drive to Switzerland. Nice! Very good experience and would recommend this hotel.

    « Wonderful stay »

Vienna is one of my favourite cities and I'd never stayed here before but I'd definitely return. I live on the continent so came here to meet my parents who flew over from the UK for a 4 night long weekend. I'm fairly sure we were upgraded to the romantic style room (which was fab as I'd just had my birthday the previous week!) and it was great. The room was a decent size overlooking the front of the hotel. As it is a city hotel I'm not sure any of the rooms would afford fantastic views but I could be wrong. The pillow menu was a nice touch! Our taxi driver from the main station told us the hotel was renowned for its breakfast and he wasn't wrong when he said it was a good spread. I think I had something different every day and there were still things I didn't try before we left! The hot options changed daily which I thought was a good idea so you wouldn't get bored. The bottles of sparkling wine added a nice touch for a leisure break - even if it did feel like an eyebrow or 2 was raised at 09:00 but, as they say, when in Rome... The breakfast room is a decent size; on the weekend it got very busy but the staff worked tirelessly to get tables changed over as quickly as possible. We were seated just outside in the conservatory one day-and I tried to sit there the next two days. It was light and airy and much quieter than inside the main dining room. Very good for someone who isn't a morning person! The hotel had a wellness suite which I believe had a gym, sauna and steam room. I had all the best intentions of using the gym but I found there was just too much to do in the city instead.. Fast, free wifi is also on hand. Location wise the hotel has it pretty good. It's just a couple of stops on the underground from the hauptbahnhof which, if you're arriving by rail, is most likely where you'll arrive. It's then only about 5-10 mins from the end of the kärntner straße which takes you right through to Stephensplatz. It's also only a short stroll from the naschmarkt which is a must visit. The staff was very friendly and although we didn't really need any assistance from them I got the impression that they would be more than willing to help out with anything that you needed. It's definitely not a hotel which is at the lower end of the price range but it was excellent, the location was great for us and I definitely felt we got value for money. Plus I got a little chocolate bunny upon checkout :)

« Hotel Kaiserhof is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. »

The ambience and the location close to the city centre made it a great place to stay. The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating with orientation of Vienna. The hotel facilities were of a high standard - the beds and bedding first class, buffet breakfast also high standard. Staff everywhere in the hotel customer focussed and efficient.

Perfect location for seeing all the attractions. Would highly recommend. Lovely breakfast. Wish all hotels could be as good as this one.

The location is very convenient to all the main attractions in Venice.Would return here and highly recommend it.

    « Location and lovely! »

Gorgeous hotel. After flying all night to Vienna, transferring trains to get to the hotel, and walking with our luggage from the train station, we were exhausted when we arrived in the hotel. There was a wonderful and very welcome respite here. The incredible front desk staff immediately welcomed us and took care of us...our room was ready. The room was just lovely with beautiful decor, a cozy, super-comfortable bed, light-blocking and automatic shades, sweet toiletries, a small fridge, and the and the lovely and elegant room was so scrupulously clean and quiet! Our room even overlooked a pretty and quiet street. We were so happy to have chosen this place over the others. The experienced and caring staff here works to go above and beyond to help with anything you need. Do not be worried that it is on a small side street. that pays off--it is a gem. It is convenient and well located close to train, trams, Musicverrien, restaurants, shopping, grocery, and city center (the opera house, etc.) Breakfast is their crown jewel. Very few places get it this right. There was a marvelous selection and great variety of delicious choices. We loved everything we tried, and we enjoyed the elegant dining room and outstanding and incredibly attentive staff who were so very, very helpful--all! One of the best breakfast buffets we have ever had. The fabulous front desk staff--every single one of them--happily helped us to navigate where things were or how to get here or there beyond what we asked--even volunteering to print off maps and schedules and make calls for us without any hesitation. We thank them all for such a great trip to Vienna. Outstanding and really lovely hotel in a great location! We would definitely stay here next time we come to Vienna.

    « Ideal City Hotel »

My wife and I stayed here about 15 years ago, since when the hotel has been beautifully refurbished. It has all the modern refinements combined with the elegance one associated with Vienna. It is very close to the city centre - within walking distance of all the major attractions - yet in a quiet location. Beds are extremely comfortable, with a choice of pillow. We found all of the staff very friendly and helpful. Reception staff are happy to advise on good restaurants and to make the bookings. And the breakfast is truly excellent - with a very large selection of hot and cold dishes made from high quality ingredients. If you are visiting Vienna, look no further - this hotel is perfect!

« A fantastic place to spend my sixtieth Birthday »

The hotel is ideally situated on a quiet street just off Karlsplatz there is a tram stop less than 1 minutes walk and the trams run very frequently. The U-Bahn is also only a few minutes walk. From the moment I arrived the service was excellent! The desk staff were very friendly and efficient. The room itself was clean and well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. In the mornings the cleaning staff were also very friendly. The breakfasts were superb with plenty of choice for all tastes. In the evenings the lounge bar was ideal to sit and reflect with a beer and plan for the following day once again the bar staff very friendly there was nothing that was to much trouble. I have stayed here several times and I have always enjoyed it. I have never found anything to fault. I will most certainly be visiting again!

« Perfect location, Top hotel with a superb breakfast and the best staff! We give it a five star rating. »

Situated near the beautiful Karlplatz and few steps away from the amazing Altstadt makes the hotel very central located. The very clean rooms are very comfortable with airco. Breakfast, service and staff are the best we ever had in a hotel. We've stayed here for 9 nights in juni 2016 and we soon go back to Vienna and we surely book again The Kaiserhof! Vienna is for us one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and still the Imperial city. For lovers of Art and Architecture is it a most exciting city, Grandeur is everywhere. And for the classical music lover remains Vienna the capital city, it is a pilgrimage searching for all the locations where the Masters lived and wrote their Masterpieces. Thanks to our stay at the KAISERHOF Wien, we had the perfect holiday in Vienna!

Extremely friendly staff...nothing was too much trouble. Started our travels through Austria at the Kaiserhof and I was looking forward to having our final night back there to finish of our trip. I actually couldn't fault anything...breakfast was amazing produce extremely fresh.

« Old world charm, excellent comfort and service, great location, I'd give it 4 stars »

We (3 of us) stayed at the Kaiserhof for 5 nights. Location was great. Just a 3 minute walk to the nearest U-bahn station, only 2 stops to the Hauptbahnhof. From the nearby U-bahn entrance you can catch a subway anywhere in the city or just continue to walk underground until you come up at the Opera exit (great when it's hot or raining). From the Opera you can take a tram to anywhere in the city as well. It's also walking distance to the Belvedere Palace and in the same block at the Technical University of Vienna (TU). A fantastic breakfast is included, free wife/internet in the rooms, very helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Also small fitness center and sauna is available. My rate through my Chase Visa rewards was in the $150/night range although I used points. I'd urge getting Rick Steve's book on Vienna. We purchased a week pass on public transportation (good for rides from Monday thru Sunday on U-bahn, trams and city buses). Also when I needed a car, I used Uber. It was half the cost of a taxi and I didn't have to fumble with change, tips ect. Vienna has good Uber access.

« Great location, awesome breakfast »

Location is very good - close to Karlplatz metro and opera theater, yet quiet and safe. Reception is friendly and efficient. Rooms are small and a bit humid. AC was not super efficient, but worked ok. Wifi is limited to three devices per room/stay, worked fine in the room and common areas. Now the best part - breakfast is absolutely awesome. Trust me on this, I'm a breakfast addict. In addition to the standard staples of fruit, baked goods, eggs and bacon there is a nice variety of cold cuts and cheeses, smoked salmon, pickled veggies, fresh croissants and traditional Viennese pies (yummy beyond words), ridiculously delicious yogurt AND a selection of power foods such as any kind of seed and nut you can imagine, goja berries, honey in a comb, oranges to be squeezed to make your own fresh glass of juice, sugar free jams, organic teas including aurvedic and other wellness varieties. All of it comes with excellent quality coffee and great waiting service, set up in a dining area styled like a palace banquet room. Awesome way to start your day in Vienna. If we go to Vienna again will be happy to stay at this hotel again, great location and value for the money.

« A great Hotel where everything is spot on. »

What is there to say other than everything and everyone associated with this great hotel made our stay in Vienna a most enjoyable experience. It has an ideal location, nice ambience, value, friendliness, quality and a definite "feel good" factor.

    « Beautiful hotel »

We stayed here for one night after the hotel we were meant to be staying - Das Triest - couldn't accommodate us on our first night. Although this hotel is 4* and Das Triest is 5*, we much preferred the Kaiserhof! The hotel's location is superb, very close to the Karlsplatz, with trams close by and supermarkets, shops and restaurants etc. all at hand. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the Stephansdom. The lady at reception, for a start, was ever so friendly and helpful. She was expecting us and instructed someone to help us with our luggage and show us to our lovely spacious room. The room was very nicely decorated and well appointed, with a very comfortable bed and plenty of space to sit and relax. The bathroom was clean and also very spacious, with a bath and good shower over it. It was really hot when we were there and the room had excellent air conditioning. The wifi connection was faultless (and complimentary), too. The real highlight, however, is the breakfast. Served in a beautiful dining room, the buffet offered a rich selection of traditional Austrian specialities and international favourites. The service at breakfast was excellent, with the waiters forthcoming in offering more coffee and clearing empty plates. Rather than a pot of coffee as is so commonplace, we were served traditional Austrian Verlängerte made to perfection. We have often been put off the Best Western network of hotels based on previous poor experiences, but the Kaiserhof is a class unto its own and we would most definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Fantastic Breakfast »

The hotel is in great location being only a 10 minute walk to the main tourist area and only a 5 minute cab ride from the main train station. The room was very spacious and also had a large bathroom with double sinks. All the staff were very helpful and friendly which made for a pleasant stay. When you go to your room, you do need to go up a few steps to get to the elevator, but the hotel staff will help carry your bags to the elevator. We cannot say enough about the breakfast in the morning, it was fantastic with tons of options for all preferences including homemade jams and baked goods. Just around the corner from the hotel their is a great restaurant with reasonable prices and few more across the street. Also just up the road from the restaurant there was a grocery store which was very convenient.

« Hotel with Charm and Excellent Service »

We stayed at the Kaiserhof in Vienna for 3 nights and like other reviews, I must admit it was excellent. Nice rooms, great service and awesome breakfast. What stood out is the friendly staff and service. It was so nice to have champagne waiting for us upon our arrival. Good location as well. Be sure to checkout the concerts offered at the St. Charles's Church (Karlskirche) within walking distance of hotel.

    « All 4 & 5 star reviews are correct. »

We stayed in room 403 at Hotel Kaiserhof from Sunday 3rd July 2016 for 3 nights checking out on Wednesday 6th July to celebrate a very significant anniversary. We had a wonderful time and everything good said in other reviews we found the same. We have nothing to add to the high praise this Hotel and its staff have received. Some tips. Walking down from the fourth floor is an experience in its self as you can enjoy the wonderful staircase and engraved Windows. The UBahn station Karlsplatz is a short walk away but you must get the correct exit as the wrong exit can double or more the walk. From the Airport using the S7 to Wein Mitte- Landstasse to change to U4 direction Hutteldorf to arrive at Karlsplatz takes in total about 40 minutes and costs less than €4 each way (July 2016) Do make sure you buy a ticket at the airport all the way to Karlsplatz. The breakfast which has received universal praise was indeed wonderful. However breakfasts similar can be found in many Austrian Hotels and some in the Black Forest Germany are even better if that can be possible. We had a wonderful time in Vienna and have no hesitation in reccomending the Kaiserhof to everyone.

    « I'll be back, for sure »

Bad: ... didn't really find something bad. Maybe a slightly long foot-walk to the underground. Good: Opera and museums in walking distance, also restaurants. Friendly and competent staff. Spotless clean rooms. Room was traditional-modern an spacious enough. Very good breakfast with excellent bread. Small but well-maintained and functional gym room. I'd definitely come again (and I don't say this often).

« City Centre Hotel with personal touch »

This hotel was booked for 4 days following on from a week in pertisau. As city centre hotels go this one exceeded my expectations, staff friendly and helpful and quickly seemed to remember all their guests. Room a pleasant size, excellent bathroom. Breakfast way surpassed anything you would find in a comparable British hotel with huge choice of fruit, meats, cheeses, conserves, croissants, cereals, fresh juice and even honey on the comb! Large dining room and comfortable bar, no formal evening dining but bar meals are more than adequate if you are too exhausted to venture out in the evening. Hotel situated on a quiet road South side of the centre but walking distance to all main sites. It is on the right side of Vienna for the Belvedere Museums. It is privately owned by descendants of the founding family.

    5
    « Sehr nett - a nice stay »

The hotel absolutely met all our expectations. The room was nice, bed very comfortable, staff very polite and friendly. The breakfast was a joy, you could choose from different kinds of coffees served by a stylish way. Eggs either sunny side up or over easy, fresh fruit and vegetables, croissants, fresh youghurt. Had good restaurant recommendations by the staff, but explored the well-known cafés like Central, Landtmann by ourselves as well. There are tram stops near the hotel but the main happening and shopping areas are on a walking distance. You can enjoy a small bite and drinks after sightseeing at the hotel lobby bar.

« Excellent Place to Stay »

From the moment we checked into this hotel the staff were fantastic. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade and the room and facilities were excellent in an oldie worldy way. Hi ceilings, large windows with flower boxes outside and a canopied bed - lovely. The breakfast had most things that one could want and the staff again were excellent. We really enjoyed our three night stay.

We love Vienna and we love this hotel! Hope to return one day soon!

    « Visit with baby »

Good: wonderful service staff, all very courteous and friendly. The location is perfect, just outside the noisy area but in the center. The suite was clean and spacious; and our baby had plenty of space to move. There is a supermarket right next door. Needs improvement: the air conditioning cannot cope during the summer and it is a bit to warm in the room.

Restaurants and public transport nearby. Peter Smith

This is the nicest Best Westenr I've ever seen. Like others who have reviewed this property, I'd recommend a suite on an upper floor. The breakfast is sumptuous. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance to Kaertner Strasse and the Metro which is safe and easy to use.

« Wonderful stay in Vienna »

The Best Western Kaiserhoff is a wonderful place to stay. It's located on a quiet side street 10 minutes from the city center. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. And the buffet breakfast was outstanding! Fried, scrambled and boiled eggs, many different meats and cheeses, fruits and pastries were provided daily. They even had fresh Belgian waffles one morning. Our room was a Junior suite which had a king bed, sofa and chairs. Large by European standards. You'll love this place!

    « Excellent value »

This was a fine hotel, not luxury, but clean, with very comfortable bedding, quiet rooms, a well done breakfast buffet, and an easy walk to the opera, main museums, underground, etc. The location was first-rate for our needs, and the price, for such a central location in Vienna, excellent

    « Outstanding perfection! »

We were in Vienna to celebrate a landmark anniversary. The Kaiserhof was truly faultless hence the title "outstanding perfection". Considering the other excellent hotels for which we have posted reviews, this is simply the best hotel we have ever stayed in and well worthy of its trip advisor 5 star status. But simply using superlatives doesn't go far enough. We experienced those essential qualities of attention to detail and understanding which makes a resident's stay "just right". Every single member of staff - taxi driver, reception/concierge, porter, bar, restaurant, cleaning and all those behind the scenes from management to maintenance , please take a bow. Every facility - public areas, bedroom/bathroom, bar, restaurant, exercise room and sauna were excellent; and the food/drink/breakfast as good as we have had anywhere in any boutique or 5 star plus hotel on several continents. Vienna is full of marvelous and exceptional experiences; and staying at the Kaiserhof is not only one of them but makes everything else in this fabulous city just feel a little more splendid. Thank you, Kaiserhof Wien!

« Close to the Center »

The Best Western Premier Kaiserhof Wien is convenient to the main train station and close to the center of the city inside the Ring Road. It's only a 15 to 20 minute walk to St Stephen's, the center of the Old Town in a web of pedestrian walkways. The Kaiserhof Wien is small and friendly in a quiet neighborhood, very close to public transportation. It is a half block off of a main street with restaurants, bakeries, and shops of all kinds. The rooms are a good size and are immaculately clean. There is a cocktail lounge and a very complete breakfast buffet. We enjoyed our stay there very much and would stay there again if we come back to Vienna.

    « Fantastic stay! »

We stayed for three nights. The hotel is not fabulous but the stay was fantastic! The rooms and bathrooms are clean and well serviced. The front desk is very helpful and the breakfast is very good. The hotel has no restaurant and a limited cuisine that is served. The location is about 0.5 km from the Opera and not right in the city center. However there are plenty of good eating places close by. All in all a very convenient place to stay if you are looking for good basic comforts.

    5
    « Excellent hotel »

This hotel was great . Exceptionally clean and comfortable.Everyone was so helpful. The staff at the front desk took time to write out places worth visiting as it was our 1st time in Vienna. The breakfast was delicious .There is a very nice lobby and bar to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. The lobby always had some cookies and ice water for refreshments. I would definetly stay here again. It was centrally located to many of the sites we wanted to see.

    « nice stay »

Location: less than 10 minutes walk to down town and Schonbrunn Palace. Other metro line to Vienna Boy's choir are easily located. Breakfast: the best among all my other hotels in Austria tour. The sumptuous breakfast gives you a good start of a day to touring around. Staff: Friendly and helpful. They all speak English!

    « Sheer luxury »

We booked a deluxe suite, as we do not travel often and when we do, it is nice to pamper ourselves. The room was more than we could have hoped for. On arrival, we were greeted very friendly and the staff was exceedingly helpful. We were given the Admiral Suite on the ground floor and were treated with a little cake as a welcome. We did not have any trouble with traffic noise as the hotel is situated in a quiet road, just off the main road. The bedroom had an extra wide bed, with very comfy mattresses, a wardrobe, luggage bench and TV. There was a big separate standing bath in the room, that could be sectioned off from the bed by sliding glass doors. Furthermore there was a closed walk in shower, a separate spacious toilet, and a nice wash basin with granit top. Furthermore there was a separate dining area with a minibar and a mezzanine seating area with Digital TV and a writing desk. All rooms had air conditioning and remote controlled blinds. At breakfast there was a wide variety of foods available, fresh fruit, yoghurt, porridge, hot sausages, bacon, scrambled and fried eggs, hot tomatoes, as well as different types of bread and cobs, cheese, ham, salmon etc, jams, choco, sweet pastries and cake. For beverages there were several fruit juices, still water, still water with lemon, oranges that could be squeezed into fresh juice, as well as different types of coffee and teas. I am sure I have still forgotten to mention plenty of other items on the menu. The hotel is situated vey near to the Karlplatze, from where you can travel by tram, bus or metro in different directions. However, the old centre is all in walking distance ... On our departure we were given a small bag of popcorn based sweets as a farewell. We had a splendid time at the hotel and do not hesitate to recommend it!

« Excellent Hotel and Outstanding breakfast »

I would stay here for the breakfast experience alone. We are seasoned travelers have never seen a breakfast like it. The hotel has wonderful old world charm and is very well appointed. Book this one and you will not be disappointed. Cozy and quaint. Great help at the front desk as well.

    « Good hotel »

The room was very clean and the hotel in a convenient location to the center of Old Town and the subway station. Be careful when booking a night concert through the reception area. They suggested a Mozart program for an evening. We were told the higher priced tickets would be better for viewing. Once we arrived at the venue, we were halfway back in the hall. This was a first come first serve basis. Also, the hotel charged a 25% fee on top of the ticket price. This was deceptive.

« Excellent hotel and we would stay there again. »

The hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a spacious corner room that was recently redone for 4 nights. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet offered a lot of choices and was quite good. The location is very convenient, a few blocks from the Opera House.

« Very nice and warm hotel! »

I went for a city break with my wife. The hotel has a great location, near Karlsplatz, very close to the Opera, five minutes walk to the city center. The room was wonderful (Romantic). But the most surprising was the breakfast: an incredible choice of cheese, fruits, cereals, juices and so on, exceeding most of the five star hotels I've been to, although Kaiserhof only has four. Very friendly staff, everyone speaks English, they are willing to help and give clear directions. Free Wi-Fi - working great.

    « great choice »

We had a lovely experience at this hotel. If you are willing to walk for 5 minutes to the central shopping zone then its a great choice. The hotel is immaculate, beautifully maintained and very comfortable. The lounge is small but the perfect place to curl up with a drink and a good book, feels like home. They only serve snacks in the evening but breakfast is perfect and lots of healthy options. It is uncrowded and leisurely, not like so many city hotels. We had the best nights sleep, very quiet. Lovely people, they make you very welcome. We loved Vienna but 3 days was not enough, you can only touch the surface, we have made a list of what we need to return to. Don't waste a day going to Bratislava, not worth it and don't listen to the reviews that say spend more time in Budapest than Vienna. Budapest is lovely but does not present you with so many cultural opportunities or such good shopping as Vienna. We need to come back and will definitely stay at The Kaiserhof again.

« Very nice hotel in a good location. »

Situated a few blocks from the Vienna Opera House, the Kaiserhof features old world charm with a very friendly staff. The lobby of the hotel and dining room are small but very nice and inviting. Our room on the top floor was a suite which was large and roomy. The enSuite bathroom was quite large with a nice tub and separate shower. There was plenty of room for our party of 3 adults. The lobby area features a small library and sitting room. There is a decanter of chilled water at hand to quench your thirst after walking the city and if you need something more invigorating there is a cozy bar. The hotel is a "green hotel" and the only impact of that we noticed was that because the windows can be opened, the air conditioning stopped working when the temperature dropped below 60. The first day of our stay was quite warm out and the air conditioning kept the room nicely cooled. The next day the temperature dropped below 50 at night and the air conditioning stopped. It got quite warm in the room before we noticed we could open the windows and let in the cool air. Stupid me. My wife, 25 year old son and I all enjoyed our stay and liked the hotel. We wished we had more time and look forward to returning. We got great restaurant recommendations from the hotel desk staff. A few blocks from a great casual Viennese restaurant, the Wieden Brau , with an outside beer garden. The hotel was priced very reasonably; the room was spacious, clean and well maintained and the breakfast was excellent with a good selection. We would definitely stay at the Kaiserhof again. Highly recommended.

« Exceptional hotel and staff in a fantastic location with fabulous breakfasts! »

My family and I recently stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. It is in an excellent location - walking distance to all the main attractions, the rooms are lovely and updated, the full breakfast is fantastic (everything you could possibly want is offered) and the staff are exceptional. A special thank you to Rainer, the food and beverage manager, who was outstanding and made our stay very memorable. We will definitely be back again soon!

    « Excellent service »

Very clean and comfortable room, 2 bathrooms. We had delicious breakfast, you could even try glass of wine as Sisi used to do. Nice staff at the reception. Perfect location for all sights, close to subway lines, tram Karlsplatz, walk distance to the centre - centre.

« Best hotel in Vienna! »

This hotel was honestly one of the nicest ones I have stayed - from the moment you walked into the foyer it felt like a 5 star hotel. After a long drive from Cesky Krumlov, the fruit infused water by the front desk went down a treat! The location was great - only about ten minutes walk into the main part of the city - but not too busy. Very easy to walk around! The bedrooms were a great size and the beds were really comfortable. The breakfast was definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had - so much choice - cold meats, cheeses, eggs, cakes, cereals, lots of nuts and seeds and even warm rice pudding! There was definitely something for everyone. One main thing I would like to point out is the high level of customer service I received at this hotel. During my stay, the staff were all warm, friendly and helpful. I left one of my belongings in the hotel room and emailed them once back in the UK when I realised. They replied straight away to say that they had found it and would send it back to me to the UK. I received within a couple of days so was very happy and impressed with the hospitality and kindness shown to me. I wasn't expecting to see it again. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vienna and would definitely return if I were to come back to Vienna!

« The best free breakfast I've ever had!! »

Huge fan of this hotel! It was conveniently located to the city center and the outdoor food market (which I highly recommend). The hotel staff was incredibly gracious and very helpful. The room was a perfect size for two people, the bathroom was a good size with a very nice bathtub, perfect for relaxing after a long day of walking around Vienna. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about the breakfast. I only wish I had an hour to have enjoyed it. They really out did themselves with the details of what was offered. If I were to come back to Vienna, I would definitely be staying here!

    « Great hotel,service and location. »

This is a lovely hotel. The service is great, the staff cannot do enough. Breakfast is very good, with excellent quality fresh coffee. The location is in a quiet street but not too far from the city. Room (310) was a good size, as was the bathroom and facilities. We will return to Vienna in the future as there is so much to do and see, and we will stay here. Free internet, spring water, apples......so welcoming.

« Great place to stay »

Stayed for 4 nights at the start if May, had a suite in the 5th floor which was wonderful, spotless, large and very comfortable. Fresh bottled water every day was a lovely touch. Cristina on reception us such a lovely Iady and a credit to the hotel. Bar staff very nice and the little snacks given free again a lovely touch and set the hotel apart. Breakfast..... wow so much choice and very fresh. Enjoyed a glass of fizzy each morning as a little treat. Hotel only 5_10minute walk to Karlsplatz u bahn, Opera house and St Stephens. U bahn do easy to navigate and we used a few times. Prices in hotel bar quite cheap really, no more than local bars and was nice to sit and have a couple if beers. Can recommend Sud Lander bar\\restaurant, turn right out of hotel at bottom of street it's directly opposite you on the other side of road, loved it in there, don't need let the bar appearance put you off. Third Man tour and sewar tour is good fun, Mozarthaus is well worth a visit as is Schbruun palace, Belvedere gardens and St Stephens. It's a lovely city but the Kaiserhof makes it even more special. Free WIFI is good too.

« Who Would Have Thought - Worth the Stay »

Who would have thought that a Best Western (a usual 2 or 3 star hotel in the United States) could have provided a 5-star experience in Vienna. Front desk service, room size, location, cleanliness, etc...all equivalent to a 5-star experience. The lobby is nothing spectacular but the stay is well worth the very affordable price. Don't let the Best Western name scare you away. Great experience!

    « Welcoming Austrian Hotel »

We booked a self tour holiday with Holiday on Locations. We have chosen a 4? Hotel so we were delighted that we were booked in Kaiserhof Hotel for 4 Days and 3 Nights. The area is ideally located walking distance to the Opera House where most type of activities starts. The hotel is in a very good, clean and safe neighborhood. We felt secure at night on our way back on foot. The lobby is not large but clean and elegant. The staff in Reception are so friendly and helpful. They also speak fluent English. Our Room is elegant and large enough to have a king size bed. It was always kept clean tidy Our bathroom was not large but clean and spacious. We have quality toiletries provided. Wifi works efficiently and so communication back home was easy. We are grateful for this. The Dining area is classic elegance and food variety is of 5? quality. Desserts were delicious and glorious. The staff were friendly and efficient. Attentive in ensuring drinks were offered to all . We can not ask for more. Room temperature was very good. Noise level was none existant. All quiet and peaceful we can just relax and enjoy our stay at Kaiserhof after each excursions. We will always think of our wonderful accommodation while in Vienna. Many thanks to the management and staff of this hotel who all strive for service excellence.

    « Regal Vienna »

Spent four days in Vienna recently and stayed at The Best Western Premier Kaiserhof. We found everything at the hotel excellent and all staff were extremely helpful. We contacted the hotel prior to our arrival asking for advice about music concerts and Krista responded with the information. She made a booking at the Musikverien for us to attend the Mozart Orchestra one evening in the Golden Hall. Breakfast had a selection great enough to satisfy most tastes and was replenished regularly during the breakfast service. The hotel location was very good, five minutes from Karlskirche and Musikverien and 15 minutes from State Opera House and the Belvedere Art Museum. Initially finding our way around on foot was complicated but we soon got to grips with it and it is such a beautiful city everything is a bonus. Would highly recommend this hotel for location, comfort levels, staff helpfulness and the "cube", a delicious little cake served in the cosy bar!!

« So much more than your typical Best Western- thank you Juri »

If you are from the States and "Best Western" is making this a tough choice, reserve a room and be pleasantly surprised. From the moment we walked into this property everything exceeded our expectations. Very spacious rooms with many extra amenities like you used to get. Bath salts, personal hygiene items, shoe shine mitt, umbrellas- it is all there. Very well decorated rooms, hallways, lounge areas. Imagine walking into the lounge that feels like a library and being surrounded by paintings, and other artwork of some of Vienna's finest. Take a few more steps down to the spacious breakfast areas. Room to relax and enjoy the fine food and service. This is NOT a hallway breakfast room that is noisy and crowded like many other hotels. Think of this place as a small, European boutique hotel, and you will be close. A small lobby, with pro-active guest friendly service. This is a very well managed property throughout. Location- you are 80 steps away from several restaurants. Four minutes to the subway, 9 minutes to the opera and 12-14 minutes to St. Stephens. Here is the great part about this location- you are close to everything AND you are on a quiet street with almost no traffic. I am a light sleeper, and we slept with the windows open the last two nights. I have to commend Juri who works at the front desk. Perhaps the best personal service I have received in my 20 some trips to Europe. Even before I arrived, I received incredibly caring service from Juri with assistance obtaining tickets to events and helpful transportation ideas. A building, good food, and great TripAdvisor ratings got me to this hotel, service like Juri provided will cause me to return. Thank you Juri- Steve

« City break. First Vienna visit. »

The room was very comfortable the bed especially so. Small hotel, beautifully maintained, friendly, helpful, great breakfast. Its in a great location just off Karlsplatz which is just outside the city centre. The ONLY drawback is no facility for dinner however eating out is no problem. The restaurant a few doors down LINEA is fantastic.

    « A week in Vienna. »

Having stayed at The Kaiserhof in Kitzbuhel on several occasions, we had no hesitation in booking a week at the sister hotel in Vienna. It is perfectly situated in a quiet street only a short walk to the city centre. There was a warm welcome on arrival and we had upgraded to The Kaiserhof suite on the sixth floor, which was absolutely fantastic! Breakfast was first class, plenty of choice for all tastes and staff were so polite and helpful. This hotel which has such a relaxing atmosphere, is a must for anyone visiting Vienna. Forget 5 star hotels, you will thoroughly enjoy this superb hotel.

    « Splendid Time »

My last trip to Europe over 8 years ago was to Paris. I stayed in a BW then and decided to try the brand again for my trip to Austria. BW is two for two in my book. This BW is located on a quiet street a few blocks away from the Vienna U-Bahn Karlsplatz station. My room was beautiful and the hotel was VERY quiet ( I almost thought I was the only one on my floor) The hotel employees were extremely friendly and helpful. Always acknowledged me when I walked in the front door regardless if they were with another guest. The decor was beautiful and timely. The entire experience made my trip to Vienna a positive one and when I return to Vienna I will book another stay at this BW.

From the moment we checked in to the hotel to the moment we left, the Staff were, without exception, friendly, smart and most helpful. Our room (105) was very clean, quiet and comfortable; the lounge and bar areas were inviting and comfortable, and the breakfast choice was wide and varied and were replenished throughout serving. The Hotel is very central, only a few minutes walk from the main attractions, shops and trams/trains. Best hotel we have stayed in!!!

In an old hotel building (new or elegantly maintained) this hotel is hard to top in any category. We loved it. Excellent. Lavish, high quality breakfast, first rate, customer focused service. The location was close by KarlsPlatz U-Bahn and tram with easy walk to Naschmarket and Opera allowing us to do what we like best...get around on foot and using public transportation. Took U-Bahn to Vienna airport. The hotel is cleaner than most hospitals I've been in and pays strict attention to latest bio/green maintenance procedures. The staff could not be more customer focused. Stay here.

    « 5 Star touches and service »

We stayed here for 4 nights - Thursday to Monday. We were up-graded to a large room on the 6th floor * it was clean spacious, great bathroome, we had everything we needed. The location of this hotel is superb for getting around Vienna - infact we didn't really need the travel card - except for visiting Schoonbrun which was beautiful. The Breakfast buffet is hugely varied and fresh. Catering for all tastes. The daily news letter on the table is useful too, a real 5 star touch. ALL the staff were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. This hotel has got it right in terms of over-delivering on superb customer service - they made one feel valued and welcome. * the only downside to our room was that the blinds spontaneously opened in the morning - wasn't too much an issue as we needed to get up, however could be a pain if you wanted a lie in.*

    « Holiday »

We stayed at the Best Western Premier Kaiserhof in Vienna from April 23 to 28, 2016. We would highly recommend this hotel although it was about 10 minutes walk to the main shopping/museums/attractions/restaurants, etc. The small bedroom and bathroom were nicely furnished and clean. Not sure if this particular room (304) was smaller than standard, but we were happy with it. The breakfast area is lovely, airy, bright and spacious with very good service. The food provided was exceptional in quality, variety and quality. The buffet area was continuously cleaned and refurbished with fresh items. As for the front desk, we particularly want to single out M. Lali. She was most helpful with all our enquiries, very knowledgeable of the city and its main attractions. She recommended wisely on choices available for our limited stay and patiently explained how to go about the city. Thanks to her suggestions we experienced the metro and streetcar systems, which pleased us a lot. Of special note is how helpful all persons encountered in Vienna were, whether Austrian or not, on their public transport system.

    « Fabulous hotel! »

My partner and I stayed at the Kaiserhoff for a weekend break for my birthday. I have to say it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, the place is spotless and the food is amazing. We booked bed and breakfast which I would definitely recommend as there is such a huge choice at breakfast, and all delicious! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they make you feel so welcome. The hotel is also a few minutes walk from the subway which will take you anywhere in the city. All in all we had an amazing time in Vienna and would return to the Kaiserhoff again. Loved it.

We had a wonderful week at the Kaiserhof. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly especially Christa. Our room (401) was very comfortable with a super bed and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with lots of cold cuts, cooked hot food, yogurt, fruit, lovely coffees and teas and bread to die for. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and it represented fantastic value for money

    « I cannot fault this hotel »

We recently stayed for 5 nights at the Best Western Kaiserhof. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a welcoming atmosphere thanks to the staff. Our room was large, comfortable and very well maintained. There is a bar downstairs where snacks are available. Again the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is well positioned near Karlsplatz and just a 7 minute walk to the Wiener Staatsoper. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

« A superb Hotel in the heart of Vienna »

From the moment of check in the service couldn't be faulted. We arrived a little before 12 noon due to an early flight and superb rail services into Vienna. The staff were beyond helpful and within 10 minutes of arrival our room was ready. The staff were aware that we were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and had upgraded us to a Romantic room with canopy bed. A beautiful room and bathroom. Later in the day a bottle of local Austrian Bubbly was left on the side board for us with a lovely hand written note from the management and team wishing us well. Breakfast was thing of beauty, with Hot and cold buffet food, rose wine and champagne available if you wished. Coffee was served to you by the staff from a lengthy menu choice. All other foods and drinks were on a help yourself basis. So good and plentiful was the food that lunch was never called for. The hotel has a lovely intermit bar area with arm chairs and couches. The lady bar tender was very pleasant and made you feel at home. Drinks prices were also very reasonable for a hotel of this calibre. Upon check out we were presented with a complimentary chocolate bar baring the image of the hotel. A great touch. Location is about 5 minutes from KarlsPlatz U Bahn station and is ideal. 10 Minutes walk across the Ring takes you to Stephans Platz (The Heart of Vienna). Overall a fantastic experience, superb staff and great food. Cant wait to return. We also noted that this family run hotel has a sister in Kitzbuhel. If this is anything to go by that also should be superb. Planning our next visit.

    « Excellent! »

I have stayed for 2 days. Very friendly and helpful staff, yummy and fabulous breakfast with numerous choices (even with Mozart music). The room is very well equipped, bedding and mattress are very comfortable. The only inadequate is room temperature cannot be adjusted so it was a bit hot during my stay. Good location allow you access everywhere (by walk, metro). Will surely stay here again next time visit Vienna!

    « Excellence as a given standard »

This venue is not the super-fancy latest thrill in facto hotels, but is is a place that you can call your home in Vienna. It is the kind of place where the hotel director writes you a short personal letter (handwritte!) from time to time, even if you're not a Maharaja of some sort. I cannot stress enough that the breakfast is simply so excellent that it is one of the main reasons of my choice. Another is the bar cozy athosphere and choice of wines. If you are lucky enough your bartender will be an Italian lady who is a real professional, so you can have a chat if you're so inclined or be left in peace if that's what you need. Sleeping quality is also very good, especially if you travel long haul. Within walking distance of virtually everything that makes sense to see in Vienna, it is "the" place to recommend, classy, but not snobbish. Only one little nuisance: the WIFI (which i working very well) password has to be re-entered everytime you log in and the username and password are not easy to remember, so you'll have to look at the sheet they give you everytime.

« Great Location, Clean, and Nice Staff »

I travel the all over the world on business. I am VERY fussy about cleanliness. Nothing bothers me more than errant smells (musty), dust, or anything not fresh. I end up writing BAD reviews often because I was either disappointed and/or I wanted to warn others on this site which I often depend on myself. This hotel, the Kaiserhof DESERVES the highest rating. My room was super clean and fresh every day. The beds were made up and the linens super fresh all the time. I cannot say enough about how CLEAN this place is!!! The breakfast buffet was stupendous and had everything anyone could ever want: They would immediately bring whatever coffee you like, something like 5 kinds of coffee (this is Vienna!!) and the food was higher level and well (elegantly) prepared. Most of all though are these two women you see during the day time at the front desk. Hopefully this hotel will pay these people to stay and never leave, as that is their biggest asset! We felt so easy to ask them for information and they went above and beyond. The two standouts, "Christa" and the nice taller lady, could not be more helpful and nice. This place has a SUPER location, safe, extremely quiet....and CLEAN!!! It's worth whatever they charge. Just stay there and you won't regret it. (Have lunch at the Museum Café near the Opera house. ) Christa led us there and it was a highlight. This is why you have great staff!! Nice time in Vienna and there will be a next time, I am staying at this same place!

Great hotel, close to centre, yet in a quiet street. 3 Tram lines close by means easy connections, but Karlsplatz is only a few minutes walk away. « Better than some five stars »

Excellent quiet location but central enough to all sightseeing. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was large and clean with everything one might need. There was also a list of items which were free of charge if you had forgotten to pack certain things. Chocolate cake in room, tea, coffee making. Apples and fresh water at reception. Breakfast excellent. We ate in one evening and the food was very good and very reasonable. We cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. Congratulations Best Western!

« Nice Location, Excellent Staff, Wonderful Amenities »

The Kaiserhof Wien Best Western is a hotel, almost with a B&B feel. It's in the City, near the best sites, but just outside the touristy areas. The staff was warm and like a new friend you would see again soon. Breakfast was wonderful. The room amenities were very nice, clean and well organized. I am not a frequent traveler, but felt safe and happy and would definitely recommend to my friends as well as return myself again if in Vienna.

    « Better than most 5* hotels we've visited! »

The Best Western Premier Kaiserhof Wien is a jewel in a city that dazzles the imagination! This was our first trip to Vienna, but certainly not our last, and I can honestly say that I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Vienna. This beautifully restored and maintained hotel is just minutes walk or tram ride from the center of Vienna. Quiet, spacious rooms with every attention paid to detail and fine service at a remarkably affordable price. Best Western hotels in the USA should all stand up and take note of this hotel! Outstanding service, knowledgeable desk staff, great full breakfast buffet, comfortable lounge. Can't say enough good about this fine hotel. Staff all spoke fluent English and made us feel at home at all times. Great beds!

    « Nice Hotel /Great location »

We stayed here during our holiday last March 2016. The hotel is not near the main train station but you can ride the u-bahn (U1) from HBF and get down at Karlsplatz, the hotel is just 5-10 mins walk from there. There's lots of restaurants nearby, main attractions are also walking distance. Very near the State Opera, where you can ride the hop on hop off buses. Room is big, clean, beds comfortable, toilet is also spotless. Overall we had an excellent stay at this hotel. Would stay here again next time.

    « Excellent....and delightful »

The Kasierhof Hotel is excellent and is in an excellent location. The delightful hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are very comfortable with free wi-fi. The wi -fi was slightly erratic in our room and, when mentioned to the staff, was noted for investigation....that is their attention to detail. Breakfast is extensive...but luckily the delightful city of Vienna affords lots of opportunities to walk it off! The hotel's location is perfect...in a quiet location (local restaurant prices were very reasonable, ask at the desk for advice) but 1 minute from the frequent tram service and 5 minutes from the underground at Karlsplatz. Very close to the Seccssion, the enormous Nachtsmarket and the Opera House. Highly recommended.

« Beautiful stay in Central Vienna »

We stayed here for a week as my husband had a conference at the Technion University. (TU). The room is very tastefully furnished and hotel is centrally located. It is a few minutes walk from the metro station, Karlspatz and good connections to all the underground train lines. I bought the Vienna card which included free public transport. It gave discounts to a lot of places & attractions. I was able to see a lot of sights around the city by taking the trains. The breakfast spread is sumptuous. Everything on the table is fresh and locally produced jams, honey from a honey comb! (Can't get any fresher!) and I loved the great selection of artisan bread! The cooked selection though simple but very fresh and well prepared!- Vienna sausages, bacons, eggs fried sunny side up. Grilled mushrooms (delicious!), beans. A good variety of pastry, plus cheese and cold cut section (so European). Tea is elegantly served at the side table with small teapots and teacups. The waiters personally take your coffee orders and have it brought to your table every morning. Of course it was Great Vienna coffee -served by most friendly staff Their excellent service made our breakfast thoroughly enjoyable every morning. There was even serve sparkling wine, sparkling water, freshly squeezed orange juice (you do it yourself!)! Every morning there on the table is a brief bulletin of local interest, weather and a little history of this historic hotel. The last Emperor and his Empress, Elizabeth had stayed here too. On the wall is a picture of its former days, with its original name, 'The Kaiserhoff'. A big 'shout out' for its impeccable and genuine friendly guests service!!

Fantastic hotel in a fabulous location! We booked bed and breakfast in an allergy room.. The room was large, had parquet flooring a mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities and bottled Viennese water every day! There is a pillow menu, and slippers! The breakfast was a great way to start any sightseeing day! Service was great and the hotel was exceptionally clean and only a short stroll through Karlsplatz into the centre... Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning... Try it!!

« Really lives up to the other reviews »

We stayed in room 502. It was a suite with a very nice sitting room. Great facilities and a good bathroom. Plenty of space, the rooms were perfectly serviced and well appointed. Breakfast was good with vast choice and excellent food. The staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful. We can not recommend the hotel highly enough. The position was perfect for exploring Vienna, perfect for walking to the main areas and close to a fabulous public transport system.

« Best breakfast of any hotel I've ever stayed at!!! »

This is a lovely hotel! Big, beautifully decorated room with a huge bed! 20 minute walk to the centre of Vienna, or a few minutes from the tube station (we chose to walk everywhere). Only a few downsides: restaurant for dinner is overpriced and very slow service, and the room was a little chilly, even after requesting for temperature to be turned up. However: extremely friendly and helpful service (95% of the time at least), welcome drink and (delicious) kaiserhoff cubes were a lovely touch, and the breakfast was phenomenal- literally everything you could possibly imagine/ want to eat for breakfast, with an accompanying glass of prosecco. We felt no need to eat anything else (except for maybe some Viennese cake!) until dinner! Wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else, this hotel was perfect for what we needed.

« Comfortable and convenient hotel »

Ideal for getting around Vienna, within walking distance of the main attractions. We had a junior suite which was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of toiletries and extras in the bathroom.Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice.

    « Good hotel »

Well located within walking distance of central Vienna. Nice little relaxed hotel bar. Breakfast really good. Rooms smallish but again clean and tidy. Good value for money all round I'd say. Staff helpful.

« Elegant hotel, convenient location, excellent breakfast »

This is an elegant, classy but not stuffy hotel, perfect for exploring central Vienna on foot and all of Vienna by public transportation (the "U-Bahn" subway is excellent). Its location just outside the "RIng" (Opernring, Kärntenring) is very convenient: it is a 5 minutes' walk from Karlsplatz station (U-Bahn lines 1, 2, 4), which is easy to reach with the City Airport Train ("CAT") and U-Bahn line 4. From the hotel, central Vienna within the "Ring" (Opera, Kärntenstrasse, Stephansdom) is a 5-10 minute walk. The Naschenmarkt, Mariahilferstrasse and various museums (including the Kunsthistorisches Museum) are also within 5-10 minutes' walking distance. The hotel is 50m from Wiedner Hauptstrasse, a major street with lots of shops and restaurants. Breakfast is excellent: it includes standard English/American breakfast items as well as a wide selection of breads, meats and cheeses as well as yogurt and all kinds of cereals and fruits and juices. A wide selection of Austrian and international newspapers is available for general use in the breakfast room. My room was comfortable and quiet. Wifi was consistently good throughout my 7-day stay. My five stars always mean: 'excellent'=100% satisfied given my requirements.

« An extremely comfortable hotel »

On our previous visits to Vienna we had stayed in a hotel within the Ring but on the recommendation of a friend decided to have a change. It was the right decision. The Kaiserhof is an outstanding hotel in every way. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Our Junior Suit on the 5th floor was spacious, quiet, clean and very well furnished. We struggled to find any criticism of it beyond the lack of a bedside clock. The public areas are beautifully decorated The breakfast room is enormous with plenty of tables. The choice and quality of food is amazing. There are plenty of staff to supply you with drinks and if you ask for another cup of coffee they take away your old cup and serve you with a new one. The hotel is located on a quiet street off Wiedner Haupstrasse with plenty of restaurants around. It is less than 10 minutes walk to the U bahn or the opera and 5 minutes to the Musikverein. Three different trams stop near the end of the street which between them go to the Opera, the west part of the Ringstasse, the main railway station and Baden. On future trips we will certainly be at the Kaiserhof.

    « Positively delightful »

Very much enjoyed my four-night stay here at the end of April last year. Lovely hotel, friendly front desk team, absolutely delightful room, plentiful breakfast attractively displayed... It was joy being here. I walked all around the general area, and felt absolutely safe walking in the evening to and from a restaurant near the opera house (single female), and returning on foot later another evening after a concert. I checked out on my birthday, which they noted. The lady at the front desk was particularly helpful and friendly. My room was several floors up, and I enjoyed climbing the wide staircase, with nice prints on the walls along the way -- I would beat the slow elevator.

« Everything was just perfect! »

My stay was a pleasure, everything was perfect, the check-in fast, the room had a nice size and i felt almost at home. It was in a nice neiberhood with several restaurants in short wlking distance. It also lies in a very quiet street!

    « Great Hotel »

Great location - you can talk to the center of town in about 15 minutes. The subway station is a 5 minute walk. The Best Western has an absolutely fabulous breakfast. They even packed us a bag lunch for the airport at 4:30 a.m. Highly recommend.

    « So lovely »

This hotel is perfect or nearly. The only issue is thin towels. Everything else is sooooo wonderful. Located in a quiet neighborhood it offers quiet old world charm. Every area of the hotel is beautiful and spotless. The staff is friendly and accommodating. If you are planning a visit to Vienna I recommend this lovely hotel. Vienna is so lovely and the hotel will compliment your trip.

    « First class hotel »

Top notch hotel in ideal location for city sight seeing being 10 minutes from the Opera House. Rooms were ready on our mid morning arrival and maintained to a scrupulously level of cleanliness. Breakfast had something for everyone with the nice touch of personal serving of tea and coffee. All staff were incredibly helpful with loads of advice for the weekend visitor. Would highly recommend & definitely re-visit.

    « Fantastic! »

The Hotel Kaiserhof his probably one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. It has got everything - warm, friendly staff, sumptuous accommodation, gorgeous breakfast and perfect location. It is within walking distance of many attractions but it is also close to the Karlsplatz underground station, giving access to attractions further afield such as Schloss Schönbrunn and Prater. We are already considering another trip to Vienna and we will definitely stay at the Kaiserhof when we return.

« Fabulous location and excellent customer service »

My friend and I went for a long weekend last week and we had a wonderful first visit to Vienna. We are already planning another visit to Vienna and we'll definitely stay here again. It's very close to the central part of the city and a short walk to a main train station, Karlskirche. A lot of the major tourist attractions were within walking distance. The room we stayed in was lovely - modern bathroom and nicely decorated. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of pastries, cakes, hot foods, cheeses, deli meats, muesli and fruit. There was freshly squeezed juice and even sparkling wine, if you wanted! Other reviews were right - this is definitely one of the best hotels anywhere!

    « Great Hotel »

My wife and I stayed 3 nights recently, we could not fault the hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the location is great, in a quiet street but only a short walk to Vienna centre, and the breakfast lived up to all the other good reviews!

    « Return visit »

This was my 6 th stay at the Kaiserhof. It is situated close to Karlplatz and is therefore an excellent base for business or as a tourist since public transport is a efficient and pleasant means of travel in Vienna. The hotel itself is in a splendid old building, and this hotel rightly prides itself on a fantastic breakfast to set the guests for the day ahead. It has a small fitness room and sauna which I didn't use this time. The staff are friendly and helpful and I have no hesitation in recommending the Kaiserhof. I look forward to returning.

« Great hotel, great location »

First class all round. Excellent location just a short walk to most major sights and just 2 minutes from Karlskirche. Reception, room and breakfast were excellent and all staff were very friendly and efficient. On our 3 night stay we booked the Big Bus (Hop on/hop off) an made maximum use of both red and blue routes. We also took the live conducted evening tour and the morning walking tour - highly recommend.

« So good you will enjoy a lot »

We visit Vienna very often and although it has other good hotels, this one is our perfect choice when you considere beautiful wide and modern rooms equipted with all you may need in your several days stay: delitious mini bar, very good room service, wifi, bath slipers and coath, all cosmetic... you just need to bring yourselve! Bufet is perfect choice of different fruits, vagetables, hot and cold food, juice and even champaine. Stuff is so nice, polite and helpful. Location is just near the Opern house which is very centar and price is moderate to what you have got.

« Wonderful hotel near the TU-Wien and the Ringstrasse »

Beautiful hotel with extremely friendly service. I arrived early and while my room was prepared the woman at the front desk wrote up some personalized suggestions for restaurants and for sightseeing. The room was huge, well-lit, and airy, with a nice, clean modern bathroom. The breakfast was top notch with continental and British options along with some excellent bread. Good location on a quiet back street just a bit off of the main ring road. Steps to the technical university (I was here on business).

    « Superb! »

Everything about this hotel is excellent, from the greeting we had at reception, to the room service, breakfasts and bar facilities. It is sparkling, and is beautifully quiet. It is very well located, being a short walk to the city centre.

    « Nice place overall »

I needed to spend a night here. Pros: - They have a garage (costs extra) and the valet is parking your car after you leave it in front of the hotel. They also bring it to you again in the front of the hotel , in the morning. - Really good breakfast included in price. So much to choose from,, you might eat more just because it all looks so good and healthy. - Very polite staff. I wanted to tip the valet for handling the parking but he disappeared so fast so I couldn't. The receptionist noticed it was my b-day and she offered me a coupon for some free drink at the bar. DIdnt use it due to lack of time but it was nice that they thought of it. - Very nice room, and clean. Had some chocolates waiting on the bed, nice touch. Well equipped bathroom. Cons: couldn't find any.

« Great hotel in quiet but convenient location »

This hotel is situated in a side street just outside the ring road in a renovated historic building. Many of the attractions were within easy walking distance, including the Opera House, Concert Hall, museums and galleries. Our room on the 4th floor was very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts were plentiful with a good selection of hot and cold dishes, pastries and a huge array of preserves. The staff were, without exception, friendly, courteous and helpful and pleased to offer suggestions of places to eat. We were in Vienna for a special birthday for my husband and I had pre-arranged champagne and a cake and when we arrived back at the hotel at teatime they were in the room along with a beautiful vase of flowers. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Vienna.

« Waltz along to the Kaiserhof »

My wife and I have just returned from a 4 night stay in Vienna at this magnificent hotel. We have been fortunate enough to stay in many hotels in Europe over the last 10 years but the Kaiserhof is easily the best we've ever stayed in. There are so many obvious superlatives (such as spotlessly clean, attention to detail, wonderful decor etc.) I could give but I will try to condense these into a few sentences. It is in an ideal location just a few minutes walk from one of the main squares, the Karlsplatz close to the Opera House and various museums and art galleries. Situated on a side street just off one of the main thoroughfares it is quiet particularly if your room is at the rear of the hotel. We had the Kaiserhof suite on the top floor - it is spacious with fantastic facilities including a separate living room as well as a spa bath. A touch of luxury never goes amiss! As for the food, well, if you are on a diet, this isn't the place for you! The imperial breakfasts are famous here and rightly so. Excellent quality, so much choice - it was like having a banquet to start every day - just phenomenal. We also had one evening meal in the hotel and yes, you've probably guessed - superb quality. Last but certainly not least I have to mention the staff - they are all so friendly, polite, helpful - nothing is too much trouble. If only all hotel staff were of such high standard. A special mention to two of the staff - Corrine on reception was so kind. She even brought up to our room a handwritten note of recommended restaurants and places to visit (which we used) which was a lovely gesture. Also Barbara, our waitress who waited on us in the evenings whilst drinking in the opulent lounge area. Her knowledge of the local wine was invaluable in enabling us to make the right choice. I would just like to thank everyone for making our stay such an enjoyable experience. If in the future we are lucky enough to return to Vienna this hotel is only one I would consider - just wonderful. Ich danke dir sehr.

    « Great Hotel 10/10 »

Lovely fresh room (no odd stains, dirty marks, chipped paint). Very comfortable. Quiet, in spite of being on the street side. Plenty of pillows, towels, and toilet paper: my troika of hotel happiness. Staff was friendly and professional -- you get the sense it is a good place to work. Helpful -- recommended a nearby restaurant on a rainy night when we didn't want to go far. Nice buffet breakfast (starting at 6:30, even on weekends). They will happily pack you a breakfast if you prefer. Cheerful servers. Cozy lobby bar. Great location. Minutes from Kaiserplatz/ubahn. Steps from a tram stop. I would happily stay here again. I am happy to recommend this hotel.

« Best hotel I have stayed in, ever! »

I have stayed in many main stream hotels and they are all very adequate and have many good points and few bad, but this hotel is by far the best. The beds are the most comfortable I have slept in, the rooms were very clean and well maintained. The staff were all very pleasant and eager to help nothing to much trouble. The staff in the breakfast room were a joy to see in the morning and by our 3rd day knew what we was going to ask for, Lucia was our waitress mainly and she helped us learn different words in German. Breakfast was fantastic great choice, excellent quality no cheap ingredients, and a varied choice with different options every day. Reception staff day and evening were always smiling and incredibly helpful, I am sorry ladies I can not remember your names but you were marvellous and we would like to thank you. The hotel even surprised my son with a bottle of frizzante in his room for his 21st birthday. The only down side I could find and I tried was that the tv did not have enough English speaking channels, but even this was not a big deal as we was only putting the TV on when we came back at night to go to sleep. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would most definitely use again, this hotel is ideally situated and only a half a mile walk from it to the state opera house where all the bus tours go from, I did measure this with my phone app.

    « Quality all through »

Average price for best quality. Superb location, maximum of comfort, varied and tasty breakfast in an intimate atmosphere reminicent of bygone hotels. The service is impeccable and discreet. I was celebrating my birthday and the hotel became part of it. A gem in an industry of catering. Highly recommended.

« Well Placed For Exploring Vienna »

This hotel is an excellent find, good value for money, with helpful and friendly staff and well placed for many of Vienna's wonderful sites. The rooms are well laid out, comfortable and very clean. I would certainly stay here again.

    « Staff so helpful »

Who knew that a Best Western could be so elegant. We had a lovely stay and everyone who worked here was so very helpful. The room was very large and spacious. The location was a bit out side of the city center but in a very safe location.

    5
    « What a find!!! »

We chose the Kaiserhof Hotel on the strength of the Trip Adviser reviews and we were not disappointed in any respect. We had a 4 night stay to sightsee in Vienna and the location was ideal being within 10 minutes walk of most city centre sights and yet being exceptionally quiet allowing a good night's sleep on a very comfortable bed. The majority of the staff spoke excellent English and nothing was too much trouble. The staff on Reception warrant a particular mention having knowledge of the city, local sights and restaurants and providing any information required. The bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally well appointed and the breakfast was a sight to behold with something for everyone.

    « A Viennese Delight »

From the minute you walk through the front door, this hotel has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. The sparkling chandeliers and Viennese glass decor gives this an old world charm we haven't experienced in any other hotel we have stayed in. The hotel is maintained to a very high standard in the public areas and bedrooms. We were warmly welcomed by Corrine who couldn't be any more helpful as was Juri who showed us to our lovely room. The efforts of all the staff throughout the hotel to make your stay enjoyable are to be highly commended. The Kaiserhoff breakfast was exceptional as has been mentioned by previous reviewers. We have stayed in many European city hotels but the breakfast offered here is by far the best. The hotel location is excellent for quick access into the sights of Vienna and also the Ubahn station is minutes away. This hotel is indeed a gem in cultural Vienna.

    « Great place!! »

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days and I can not fault it. The staff were all incredibly friendly, courteous and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing with such fresh and different varieties of fruit, hot food, breads, pastries and cereals. The location we all thought was great and everything was very assessable. Would highly recommend!! And would definitely go back again!!

    « Wonderful »

I booked in this hotel because it was quite close to the University Building in Karl Platz. I read excellent rating for this hotel, but the hotel exceeded all my expectations. Great location, it can be reached by taking the train to the airport direct to Wien Mitte and then take the U4 (two stops); but you can do even a walk along the ring (about 20 minutes carrying the suitcase). You can reach the center on foot in 10 minutes. The room was nice and spacious, free WiFi and tea and coffee maker in the room. There is a fitness room for guests and even a SPA, but I have not tried. The staff is really very kind and showed me different paths to go for a run. But the thing I'm hooked was the breakfast. Probably the best breakfast buffet I've ever tried (and I travel a lot). All very nice, both in products that in setting. I found a special offer for my single room, hence it was really excellent value for money. For sure next time I will come again in this hotel.

« Perfect on every level! »

My husband booked this hotel as a surprise for my 50th Birthday. We had a junior suite on the 5th floor and from the moment we arrived it has been faultless. My husband had ordered a bottle of champagne in the room but there was also a complimentary dish of little chocolate cakes and sweets on the pillows too. Room service was really prompt and when we ordered an iron & ironing board it came within minutes. The breakfast spread is wonderful - such a huge range of delicious foods, including free Prosecco and DIY freshly squeezed orange juice so we could have Bucks Fizz! The bedroom and bathroom were spotless and the bed SO comfy with silky soft bed linen and the temperature in the room has been perfect. We have slept SO well every night. The hotel is quiet and the staff are very attentive and friendly. The hotel is very close to the main attractions - a 10 min walk from both Belvedere and The Opera and 5 min walk from Naschmarkt. We have twice used the sauna and steam room which again was immaculately clean and very relaxing and quiet. There is a lovely relaxed, calm friendliness here too. Highly recommend this hotel.

« Exceptional beds and service »

Exceptional old school service from the moment we arrived. Front desk very helpful in resolving language issue with airline(Air Berlin). Our room was spectacular! The bed was a real king size with a real king sized comforter. Pillows were fantastic. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Early morning service from young man at desk was exceptional! We'd go back just to sleep in luxury. A bit out of central but not a problem

    « Another Superb Stay »

Once again we returned to stay at this superb hotel. We arrived early morning, having arranged the time of the check in with the hotel, after our long flight from Australia. The greeting from the reception staff was warm and friendly. There were chocolates on our pillow. We informed the housekeeper we would be sleeping for some of the day. When we awoke and went to go for a walk we found some extra towels on our door knob. Thank you, Pamela. We appreciated your thoughtfulness. The breakfasts are amazing, great variety and good quality. Every member of staff wishes you good morning. There have been staff changes since our last visit, but the friendly efficient service continues. The hotel is located in a quiet side street within walking distance of the Ring. Walk the opposite way to the city and you will find charming coffee bars, restaurants and shops frequented by the locals, a lovely slice of Viennese life.

« Holiday stay in suite »

My husband and I stayed at the Kaiserhof for a six-night visit to bring in the 2016 New Year. I'll start off by saying that we definitely enjoyed our stay and we would stay here again. I'll also mention a couple of minor issues that travelers may want to keep in mind. Okay, here are the things we appreciated most: 1) The staff was very friendly and clearly worked hard to make sure guests have a pleasant stay. We especially appreciated Barbara who works in the bar. We also appreciated the fact that we e-mailed the hotel in advance with some questions and we got replies within 24 hours. 2) The breakfast buffet was stupendous; it made me look forward to waking up everyday and going downstairs. 3) The condition of the property is quite good, and the housekeeping staff keeps it meticulously clean. 4) Our king suite, on the fifth floor, was very quiet; I never heard any noise from the street or from other guest rooms. 5) Our king suite was exactly like the suite depicted on the hotel website. It was quite spacious, and nicely appointed. 6) Once we figured out the local streets, we found that we could walk to the Karlsplatz subway station in about six minutes, or to the city center in about twelve minutes. With all these positives, I'll mention a couple of points that might be helpful for travelers to keep in mind: 1) This is a boutique hotel that is more than a century old. While this gives the hotel exterior and lobby some old-world charm, because it is an old building there are about six steps up from the lobby to the elevator and the first-floor guest rooms. This means the hotel is not accessible to people using wheelchairs or who have significant mobility challenges. 2) Although the four-star rating is well-deserved, there is no restaurant on site. You can order some tasty, light fare in the bar, or have it delivered to your room, but the menu is rather limited. Room service stops at 10 PM. 3) The electrical outlets in the room are ALL German type "F," supplying 220 volts. Because we are from North America (which uses 110 volts), we found it a bit challenging to charge our phones, laptops, and electric toothbrushes, but luckily we were able to do it. At the front desk they keep a cardboard box with a hodgepodge of different adapters and power converters. We dug through the box and with a little experimentation found that we could plug a power converter into an adapter, and then plug the adapter into the socket. However, we could only build two such combinations based on the hardware in the cardboard box. So if you absolutely have to use the electrical outlets, and your device does not fit the German type F socket, I recommend bringing your own power converter and/or adapter because what the hotel has is only available on a first-come, first-served basis. 4) The hotel does include free wifi, and we were supplied with a username and password upon check in. However, we found the in-room internet speed to be really slow. For more intensive web browsing we had to go downstairs; just off the lobby is a little nook with a desktop computer. It has somewhat out-of-date software, but it was acceptable. To the hotel's credit, when we mentioned this in our post-stay survey, a hotel representative wrote back and stated that they plan to upgrade the wifi soon. 5) The guest rooms allow some individual control over the temperature, but it takes a little while to heat or cool and you have to use a little experimentation to find the setting that is just right. 6) Finally, and this is just a small matter, the towels are oddly thin and scratchy. But again, when we mentioned this in our post-stay survey, the hotel responded; apparently they have gotten the message and stated that they will be offering better towels in the future. Okay, bottom line, with all the caveats listed above, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Absolutely wonderful! »

This hotel is simply excellent. It is perfectly located on a quiet street, just a short walk from the city center. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and kind from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The rooms are spacious and elegant with very, very comfortable beds and pillows. I had the best 2-nights sleep I've had in ages. The breakfast is superb; the food is excellent and the staff are fantastic, providing you with everything you need. We had an exceptional stay here and will most certainly be back.

    « Perfection »

Everything was perfect about this hotel, from when we entered the staff could not do enough for us (7) to make our stay enjoyable from getting our rooms ready, to the service in the bar to the continental breakfast (which was amazing) to the treats we found on our pillow every night upon retuning to the room after a day out. The location in itself was wonderful to the recommendations for restaurants and concerts. I would definitely go back I enjoyed my stay so much...The staff was amazing and the hotel was immaculate.

We had an a amazing stay for it was my husbands birthday present and they made it even more special by delivery a bottle of fizzy as we arrived. The room was extremely clean and big enough. Their breakfast had something for every nationality it Was like a banquet. Lovely experience All staff were very helpful and charming and had great suggestions for restaurants. Loved the surroundings lovely to come back and have a drink at the bar after walking all day! Very central and walking distances to a lot of places and also The subway. We will go back as we loved Vienna and will be staying there again. Highly Recommended. Thank you all at Kaiserhof

« Excellence in Hotel Hospitality »

We have stayed at this Hotel in the past and returned because of their great hospitality. The Hotel is located a short walk to the centre of Vienna in a quiet street. From the moment you step into the Hotel you feel comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are well appointed and the Bar and Breakfast buffet are up with the best we have experienced for service, selection and quality.

    « Style and Comfort »

Unlike the Best Western hotels we are accustomed to in the United States, this property actually offers some class, style and taste at a reasonable price. We had a comfortable and very clean suite on the top floor that was "attic like" but there is no view from any room so it was fine. Most staff were friendly and the management makes a nice effort to make sure the guests are pleased. I concur with all the positives other reviewers have written about. We would happily stay again if in Vienna

    « Hapsburg Charm »

The Kaiserhof prides itself on offering old world charm and its public room and dining areas reflect this opulent style elegantly. I loved eating breakfast looking at the decorated Christmas tree in the atrium, the Hapsburg memorabilia, and the chandeliers. The buffet offered everything for every taste and the coffee service was attentive. The employees service overall was excellent. The quaint bar area was adorned with pretty holiday finery and offered snacks and small meals. Very cozy. My room needed a little refurbishment and for certain more storage space, i.e., drawers, shelving, and hanging closet area. I was told my floor was going to be redone soon. Otherwise the hotel was a solid four star with a historical past. I wasn't impressed with the restaurants in easy (5 minutes) walking distance from the hotel, but, in a pinch, they were OK. Once I learned about the tram system, access to the Opera House was easy with just two tram stops. Fast walking to the city center (Opera House) was about 15 minutes. Or a subway to St. Stephen's Cathedral was close by with the subway station about 7 minutes. Some permanent looking homeless occupied the subway steps so that I usually took the tram. Nice hotel and good price.

Excellent service in all respects Room was perfect Good location bordering on the city centre 3 min from the Musicverien where we attended The New Year Day's Concert Amenities were impressive as were the staff, who were courteous, helpful and friendly The buffet breakfast was sumptuous with all tastes catered for as was the evening dinner. The lounge and bar was comfortable and well dressed for Christmas and New Year. We look forward to a return visit in the future to this hotel

    « very comfortable stay »

We stayed here in October and had booked through expedia. We had got a good deal and had selected a suite for the family with breakfast. The location is excellent around fifteen minutes walk to Vienna opera and the city centre. The Karlplatz is a five minutes walk away making public transportation to the city and airport very convenient . Lots of stores, restaurants nearby. The hotel building is very well maintained ,very welcoming and helpful staff. The room was well sized ,we had little sacher torte in the room to welcome us ! The breakfast was good, infact we had a early morning trip to Salzburg so they packed a breakfast for us which was very helpful for us.The beds were comfortable ,no noise or anything at night cause hotel is located at a quiet side lane. We also used the sauna at the hotel, very relaxing. Will definitely recommend this hotel especially with kids.

    « Perfect weekend stay »

We visited for a weekend break and found this hotel just outside the Ring but a few minutes walk from the Opera to be ideal. The warmth of the welcome was maintained throughout our 2 night stay. For reasons that weren't entirely clear we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite which, after over 30 years of marriage, was both kind and flattering! The staff went out of their way to make helpful suggestions for places to eat, making the necessary bookings as well as advice on general sightseeing matters. Apart from using the U-Bahn to go to Schoenbrunn, we were able to walk everywhere to see the sights and shop. Breakfast was excellent. None of this adequately conveys the friendly and welcoming manner in which, with humour, so much help was given. Highly recommended.

« Excellent in every way »

On a New Years tour of Vienna we stayed here for five nights and were very well taken care of. The staff very first class in every way. Especially Barbara who fixed a snack for us late in the evening after the opera. Good location great restaurants around naschmarkt only two blocks always. Rooms had everything good bed and quiet. Little minus for slow hopeless wifi! But otherwise perfect I have found my place I. Vienna and will be back.

    « REALLY GOOD HOTEL »

3 min walking by Karlplatz , well situated hotel. Hold typical Wien building but amazingly well maintained . The entire staff makes you feel home. Really courteous and helpful. I totally loved the bar area ( to relax , before dinner, after a day spent walking around the beautiful Wien ) and the breakfast room ( luxury atmosphere. Buffet is simply awesome ). My room was really nice and clean ; it looked like fresh painted. Really nice curtain. I spent 5 nights and i am have been really impressed by this place. Definetely an hotel to consider for Wien.

    « Pretty much a perfect hotel. »

We (6 of us) have just returned from a three night stay at this hotel, and I really can't find any faults with it. Great location, about five minutes walk from the Karlsplatz Underground station, very pleasant and helpful staff, lovely large rooms, and superb breakfast. The hotel is upmarket without being pretentious, and we would certainly recommend it. Free wifi, good sauna and steam room, (there is no pool)

    « Wonderful Christmas Stay »

My Husband and I stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas. We had the petite room and were pleasantly surprised that it was actually quite a nice size. The room was very quiet, spotlessly clean, toiletries were provided and we even received a little Christmas gift in out room. The breakfast was amazing, everything you could want. The honeycomb and oranges to squeeze for juice were a wonderful touch. Staff cannot do enough for you here. The sauna and steam (you have to ask reception to switch these on if they are not already and they take 20 minutes to warm up) are lovely and clean but there is no private changing area and the showers are open plan and communal. The gym is basically just a bike, cross trainer, a weights machine (not a very good one) and a fitball. The location is great as it's just a 20 minute walk into the center for shopping or sight seeing. Less than a 2 minute walk away is the wonderful Sud Lander restaurant. We ate there twice and the food was plentiful, delicious, well presented, good choice of drinks, and staff really nice and helpful. Nice atmosphere in there. There is also a good pizza restaurant even closer, on the corner of the street.

    « Perfect hotel »

We spend the christmas at Kaiserhof & it was perfect. Great service, nice suite, excellent breakfast (the only minus was slow wifi in our room). I can really recommend this hotel. Our 5 year old son cried when leaving and said that next time in Vienna we must stay at the Kaiserhof for a longer time. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!

« Nice Hotel in Vienna »

Near the Kaiser Platz so very easy to walk to public transit or onto the old town. The hotel was very nice, lovely decor in the public rooms. Room 503 was very comfortable with a nice chair for relaxing. Staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Great value in Vienna.

    « Comfort without pretention »

The hotel is conveniently situated for the city centre attractions being about 5 mins walk from the Karlsplatz underground station. The hotels decoration is elegant, and the service throughout was flawless. Our bedroom was delightfully furnished(see photo), the bed was huge and comfortable, the bed linen was of high quality. The bathroom was of adequate size, well equiped. The standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel was immaculate. The selection of food on the breakfast buffet seemed to cover all tastes successfully, the cooked breakfast selection was possibly the least successful; your choice could be washed down with, tea, coffee or bubbly, a great start to the day. The hotel did not offer a formal evening meal, however substantial bar food was available until late.

« A great Christmas in Vienna thanks to the hotel Kaiserhof »

Everything we wanted from a hotel. Great position, great value and wonderful attention to detail, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The front desk was full of good ideas, made us some great reservations and were very professional and a pleasure to deal with. It's not too big, not too corporate, not too full of itself and very friendly. The breakfast was exemplorary, the room spotless and well equipped, comfortable beds, mini bar, a complimentary bottle of spring water was refilled daily. Our bathroom was beautiful, loads of towels & toiletries, a lovely big bathtub and shower (a bath bomb for christmas day was a lovely touch). There is a cosy bar, a lovely place to relax. You can help yourself to complimentary fuit water and cookies. The bar staff were happy to provide simple, delicious food either in the lounge or your room. It's not right in the middle of it all but down a quiet side street a short walk from the centre of everything and just a hop from a tram stop. It really felt like coming home after a day of sightseeing or an evening at a concert. All in all they've got it absolutely right on all counts without ever going over the top, 5 star touches and luxury without any of the overpriced nonsense, it managed to feel generous, such a change from the usual feeling of being 'ripped off'. Thankyou Hotel Kaiserhof for making our family Christmas in Vienna all that we had hoped for and I would not hesitate to return.

« Pleasant experience with the front desk staff. »

We stayed in the Hotel on 24th December 2015 for 2 days.I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff at the frontdesk.I think her name is F.Maria. She had the most pleasant demeanour and she was very helpful towards me and my family. She helped us booked our concert tickets ,as all the shops were closed during the festive season and we didn't know how to spend our time in Vienna. She was very patient to explain and made suggestions as to how we could go about in our directions in Vienna and what we could do there.Though it was a short stay,we had a memorable time. Thanks to F.Maria.She made a good ambassador for Vienna with her warmth hospitality!

« Lovely and romantic stay in Vienna »

I am a fecuent Vienna visitor (3 to 4 times a year from South America.). For a four night visit to Vienna this was a perfect choice. I was travelling to work at the Teschniche Universitat. The location cannot be better being within walking distance 5 minutes from the University. and 10 minutes from the Opernhause and 20 minutes of historical center. The room is quite spacious and excellent decoration. The bed VERY confortable. They have a large wash room and shower which has a great shower head. Double windows ensure sound isolation from busy street and cold from winter. Coffee machine (Nesspresso) for complementary coffee was great but no necessary due to the FANTASTIC breakfast served. Service was great with every request honored in less than five minutes. Lemon water and apples are served in lobby. The breakfast serves champagne, salmon, trout, and honney directly from the honeycomb. 100% sure I will comeback.

    « Excellent. Nuff said. »

Excellent in every aspect: location, breakfasts, hospitality, etc. Calm place in 7 minutes by foot from Opera, 15 minutes by foot from Belvedere, easy to get from airport by CAT or S7 and subway. Sauna helps to relax after long walks

« Glad we chose this hotel »

From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome. Corinne, who was at the front desk provided us with a handwritten letter and personalized package of what we might find interesting to do while in Vienna. The hotel had a feeling of old world charm and graciousness to it. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was clean and had great beds, covers and pillows. The breakfast selections were outstanding. The location was great as it was easy walking distance to many of the sights we wanted to take in, and public transportation was near by when we needed to use it.

« The Kaiser and the Vienna card »

Firstly don't take any notice of the more negative reviews, this is a fabulous little hotel in a good position ( I'll show you directions later), it's quiet, clean, nice staff and with generous sized rooms. We travelled as a couple in December because of the Christmas markets ( of which there is many, one is just around the corner in Ressel park). The hotel is located quite close to a U-bahn (underground) but one of the things I found about Vienna is that it's quite difficult to find your bearings, (I'm usually good with maps) there's a lot of tightly packed streets with quite long names and as we didn't have transfers from the airport we got slightly lost. (We found the transfers a bit expensive), I've given instructions below if it helps. FIRSTLY! Get yourself a Vienna card! It not only allowes free travel on all public transport within the city but will give you cheaper entrance in to most of the museums, I know I sound like an advert but it's definitely worth it, you save loads of time at underground stations because you're not having to buy single tickets every time you want to catch a train. Go to the info desk when you exit the airport, when you buy the card you can also buy a train ticket in to the city centre, this is either the S-bahn (overground train) or something called the C.A.T which is high speed but more expensive ( I recommend the S-bahn anyway as it only took us 30 mins). Also get yourself a map, this will have the U-bahn routes on it. Directions to hotel, S-bahn to Landstrabe Wien Mitte railway station, catch the U4 to Karlsplatz (in the direction of hutteldorf), exit the station at Ressel park (this was where we got lost) and then bare left towards a huge church with two big round columns on the front of it, then go down the right hand side of it, Frankenbergasse is 2nd street on the right. I hope this helps, we were constantly coming out of underground stations at the wrong exits, prompting my unhappy wife to come out with one of her favourite sayings "I thought you'd got it sussed?". Would I come to Vienna again? Yes (probably in summer) Would I use this hotel again? Definitely!

    « An excellent choice »

This hotel is in an ideal location, only 5 minutes walk from Karlsplaz and 10 minutes from the Opera House. The staff were very welcoming at all times. We stayed for 4 nights and were surprised on the night of my birthday to find a chilled bottle of wine in our room, which added to an already perfect day. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room very quiet. Our only complaint was that at first the room was not warm enough, however once we mentioned it the heating was turned up. I was a little bit surprised to find that on day 3 when we retuned to our room at 6.00 PM on a cold winter's day the heating was off again. It was soon turned up when we asked again. I must admit that I thought that it was a bit strange to find the heating off again. I still felt that it was an excellent hotel. They have a very good buffet breakfast, the lactose free milk and honeycomb honey were certainly appreciated. As prices go in Vienna I thought that this hotel was very good value for money

« Clean, central and welcoming staff with a superb bed »

First visit to Vienna and the hotel was great. Centrally placed meaning we could easily walk from the hotel to all areas or just hop on the U-bahn at Karlplatz. The staff were friendly and very helpful - their patience put up with my poor German with a smile. Breakfast had great variety. The best bit however was the bed. Maybe I haven't travelled as much as some but the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

« Christmas Break to Vienna »

We had a wonderful 5 day stay in this hotel. Staff made every effort to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and nothing was a problem for them. Very comfortable room, lovely breakfast buffet and the hotel is also in a great location. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vienna

    5
    « Superb »

Excellent hotel from every aspect. Beautiful building, spotlessly clean, superb breakfast, 10 minutes from city centre, 5 minutes from nearest U Bahn station. Staff are extremely helpful with advice on what to see/do and will even book a restaurant for you. Can't fault the hotel in any way.

    « Sweet Viennese Treat »

This hotel is a true sweet spot in Vienna. The people all were outstanding in making every effort to insure guests have a memorable visit. Front desk staff were warm and helpful in everything from directions to restaurant recommendations. Rooms were comfy with down bedding. Breakfasts were memorable with their selections of savories and sweets. Their location was on a quiet street about 5 minutes to the Opera House and transportation stations. Truly the hotel played a major role in our naming Vienna as our favorite in our 4 city vacation.

    5
« Best Western at its best »

This is an excellent Best Western that I can highly recommend for its location and comfort. Our room was on the lowest level on the street side (very little traffic during week and week-ends) and was very quiet. The air-conditioning is quiet and efficient, so that you do not need open windows in summer. The breakfast buffet is really outstanding in a beautiful comfortable room.

    5
    « BEST best western »

We were delighted upon arrival to be informed that our room was ready even though we checked in before midday. We had a superior double, and were entirely satisfied with all the amenities in the room except for the pillows. One was a brick, one was an air bag and the other a small cushion. I am sure if I had mentioned our dissatisfaction to management then we would have been offered another choice, but we didnt?? our mistake. As mentioned by almost every other reviewer the breakfast gave a good choice of foods to suit most tastes. The bar was a nice place to have pre dinner drinks and we had lunch there on our last day, which was a very large but tasty burger. I think that older clients or those with mobility problems may find that this hotel is just a bit out of the main centre of vienna, but for us it wasn't an issue. A brisk 10 min walk through the underground station took you into the centre of vienna. I would highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, location and professional staff.

    « Recent Stay »

We stayed for three nights this week and really enjoyed this hotel. It is very peaceful and elegant with professional and friendly staff. The breakfasts are superb - catering for all tastes and options. We stayed in a larger upgraded room on the first floor which was quiet, clean and came with a huge bed and very comfortable pillows. Location is only a short distance to the city centre with nearby access to trams etc. Vienna at this festive time of the year has many magical Xmas markets and we found local people extremely friendly. Would recommend the city and this hotel without reservation.

    « excellent hotel & service »

Beautifully presented hotel, cleanliness was second to none from the reception throughout the hotel. Staff were extremely helpful & knowledgeable about the area Room was of a good size & lots of little extras made it feel luxurious Breakfast was of a good standard with lots of choice....my daughter loved the breakfast Prosecco! Hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the main sites of the city but was a good price for such a handy location

« Location and service made this a special stay »

Spent 3 nights here for the Christmas markets and could not fault the experience. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of the centre of Vienna, the underground and some of the many markets. Terrific breakfast in an elegant dining room - both western and continental options. The service was exceptional. After checking in which was efficient we had a visit from the front desk lady Corinne who had gone to the trouble of writing out by hand a long letter with recommendations on where we might eat dinner, coffee shops and markets - well above and beyond anything I have seen before. We will be back and will stay here for sure.

    « A most enjoyable stay. »

Our four day stay at the Kaiserhof was booked through Inghams, and was very well organised. We found the hotel to be excellent, the staff wete very friendly and helpful. The standaed of cleanliness throughoutwas top quality. Breakfast was included and described as 'Imperial' and it was. A very minor observation was that the room entrance where the wardrobe was situated did clash somewhat with the bathroom door.

« My family loved staying at this hotel. They always made us feel so welcomed »

My family lived in Europe 15 years ago and we had stayed at this same hotel when visiting Vienna. I hadn't realized when I made the reservation that this was the same hotel we stayed over 15 years ago. We thought the hotel was wonderful and they made us feel so welcomed every time we walked in the front door. The breakfast was amazing and the restaurant suggestions and travel tips were always superb. Christa at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. So if we should find ourselves visiting Vienna in another 15 years, we will definitely stay here again.

    « Excellent Hotel »

We have just returned from a four night stay at the Kaiserhof. What a superb hotel. A very friendly welcome awaited in the well-lit classy reception. We were shown to our room, a double deluxe with everything we needed. Beautiful décor, a small, but compact bathroom (the only criticism would be the poor quality of the towels), electronic blinds, TV, safe, kettle, everything! The lighting was excellent, especially the sensor lighting if one wanted to visit the bathroom during the night without putting on the lights. As for the breakfast, well, the best I've sampled anywhere in the world. Absolutely everything on offer, including porridge! Friendly waitresses were quietly going about their business. Also, a very good location for the centre. It is walkable, but most of the time we chose to use the tram/metro as it was so handy for the hotel. If flying, book a transfer, it's only 25 minutes and well worth doing. Please don't be put off this hotel by the lack of restaurant. Next to the bar is an area with a few tables and food can be ordered in both areas. We ate in each evening and the menu offered was more than enough for an evening meal, or snack. The tomato soup is to be recommended! There is also a small, but functional spa area, with a resting area, showers, sauna and steam room. Hot and drinks are also on offer (for free). The location is also convenient for all the Christmas markets (best one being the one in front of the Town Hall). When returning to Vienna, we will definitely be staying at the Kaiserhof again. Thoroughly recommmended

    « Excellent choice! »

I stayed at the BW Premier Kaiserhof for only one night. The facilities, location and breakfast are first rate. They provide valet service if you have a car. The Internet could have been a little smoother but that would be my only opportunity for improvement. I will definitely stay again!

    « Great city break »

Went to Vienna for a city break with the partner and some family members. Stayed at this hotel and can't fault it. Staff were so accommodating including booking us a table at a lovely restaurant and breakfast was second to none. Staff make this place great! Highly recommend!

« Smart choice with Vienna at your doorstep »

You can see from the many reviews that this hotel is very comfortable, handily located by the Historic Centre in a nice area ,has great staff smiling at the desk all day despite the hundredth guest asking the same question about getting to the Christmas Markets and then breakfast to satisfy the most picky. Would return any time here for location and the great little chocolate welcome cakes they left in our room - just in case we had not had any cake in Vienna!

« Great hotel in a great location! »

I spent 3 nights here with my mother and my 20 year old son who is studying in Europe this semester. Great, modern hotel, wonderful staff, Lali at the front desk was top notch! All her recommendations for meals, events, etc were just perfect. Great convenient location, not far from the Opera House. Walking distance to all the main attractions. Fantastic breakfast!! Never had a better one at a hotel anywhere in the world! Anything u can think of they have! Triple room was a tad on the small size but typical for Europe, however, we had just come from Prague and had a much larger triple. Great bathroom, however stepping into a very large high bathtub to shower-no separate showrer stall- could possibly be a problem for the elderly or handicapped, but was just fine for us. Great stay!

    5
    « Quality Hotel »

Excellent 4 star hotel. Retains all of its historic elegance yet providing all of the amenities needed from a modern hotel. Most enjoyable feature is the friendliness of the staff, starting at Reception who are excellent, through catering and housekeeping to all levels - a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Location is very good, in a quiet alley but close to Opera House which tends to be the centre of activity.

    « Just book it! »

My husband and I stayed at the Kaiserhof hotel for four nights. Our stay was exceptional. Firstly, the hotel is very comfortable and well-maintained. There are lots of well thought out little extras in the room such as toiletries, excellent lighting in the bathroom (hooray), full length mirror. The room was spotlessly cleaned each day. The bed very comfortable and the pillows heavenly! The breakfast is absolutely delicious. A good selection to choose from with high-end quality produce. It was a real treat every morning. But what makes this hotel a cut above the rest is the staff - all of them! They are so polite, helpful, courteous and nothing is too much trouble. We have, in our time, stayed at many hotels but this one rates as one of the best! If you are wondering if you should book here or not let me tell you don't hesitate; your search for a great hotel is over because the Kaiserhof is exceptional in every way!

    « Perfect stay. »

What a superb find. We stayed in a classic room 410. It was lovely. I was a bit disappointed that a "double room" is 2 singles pushed together, however we had to stay as there were no upgrades available. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I mean EVER. We slept like logs! Handy complimentary brolly in the wardrobe! Well positioned for sightseeing. enjoyed sitting in the bar in the evening, the waitress was fun. Breakfast was amazing, there's even champagne and orange juice for Bucks Fizzes if you so wish. I can't imagine anyone faulting this hotel.

    « OK hotel- helpful,friendly staff »

We're a young couple, we stayed for 4 nights in mid-november 2015. I booked based on the great reviews on TripAdvisor and the location being close to the opera, which is what we were in Vienna for. I can't find any big faults with the hotel, it just wasn't anything special - i would say a 3.5 star - basic but it had everything we needed. The main issue i had was that our double room was 2 single beds pushed together but they were made-up separately and had individual duvets - not a very romantic environment but fine if you're travelling with a friend! I did ask at the reception if they had any rooms with proper double beds but she told me that those are special upgrade rooms 'Romantic Rooms' (i think) and that the hotel was full. Something to be aware of if you're travelling as a couple and like to share a bed! The general decor is fine - it has an early 1900's feel to it, like an old, grand hotel but slightly worn around the edges. The other things to know are that the wi-fi is terrible, really terrible, which caused us some issues because my partner needed to work on a couple of the days and the connection was so bad he couldn't send emails. We did mention it several times to the reception but they didn't/couldn't do anything. I wasn't working so for me it wasn't a big issue but worth knowing - don't rely on being able to get internet access - certainly not from the room (we were on the 2nd floor) and only sometimes in the lobby. The last negative was the gym - No daylight, 1 bike, 1 running machine, 1 cross trainer and one multi-purpose weight machine. For me this was disappointing. Onto the good. The breakfast was great - huge buffet selection and some variation on the hot food on a couple of days. Service at breakfast is also very good, sit in the atrium/conservatory area for lot of natural daylight. Staff at the desk are very friendly, they gave us some good restaurant advice - i highly recommend Entler which is 5-7mins walk from the hotel and does incredible food. They only take cash so go prepared. Location is also a real positive, about 7mins walk to the Opera House which is basically the centre of the city. From there it's 5-7mins to the museum quarter and 3-5mins to the main shopping street. If i stayed in Vienna again i'd consider Le Meridien, The Imperial (it's great for cake too) or Ritz Carlton. More money but better accommodation and even better locations. We paid £120pn, which in my opinion, was too much for this hotel.

« Beautiful hotel, central location and excellent breakfast »

We stayed in December 2015 with a deal that included breakfast for 145 euro a night. The hotel has a lot of history and is a beautiful old hotel with a lot of history. Very friendly and helpful service with our bags whisked away to our rooms very quickly. The buffet breakfast which was included in rate was excellent

    « Our favourite hotel »

Via Holiday firm,Inghams, we booked 3 nights for the Xmas fairs at this centrally placed hotel and from our experience at reception, we could not fault this hotel. The Hotel room was their smallest and cheapest but really it was superb and we could not fault the room, staff and their friendliness and helpfulness, then we have to describe the breakfast. Never seen such a large breakfast range, absolutely superb, how many hotels have a complete honeycomb from a hive laid out for breakfast, 6 or 7 various Austrian cheeses let alone Prosecco available for those who could face alcohol at breakfast. Hotel in a quiet but centrally place position just round from Kaiserplatz with its current Xmas fair, hand made goods at this local one, whilst only 10-15 minutes walk to the Opera House and central Wien

« Wait.. this is just a 4 star hotel? Could easily be a 6-Star! »

BEST WESTERN PREMIER Kaiserhof Wien is a very good hotel... in fact it is a GREAT hotel. For frequent travelers like my wife and I, Kaiserhof Wein is among the exceptional Value-for-Money hotels where we have stayed. It is the hotel where you will always go back to when you will travel to Vienna. it is THE Hotel where you will want to be staying on your next visit to Vienna! We stayed at this hotel on November 25 and 26, 2015. Location: The location of the hotel is perfect for train travelers like my wife and I. From the Vienna Train Station, It is less than a mile walk. First we thought about taking a cab or Über to get there but we decided to walk and we were not disappointed. It is an easy and delightful 19-minute walk through welcoming restaurants and local shops and makes you immediately feel "local". from the Hotel, it is just 5 minutes from the main drag of the city. It is also just 10 minutes tram ride to the Schonbrunn palace. The hotel is just 9 minutes from the big Christmas markets at the Rathous. and it is just 5 minute walk to the beautiful Baroque Church Karlskirche and its Christmas markets. It is just 5 minutes from the Ringstrasse where you can take Tram 1 or 2 to go see all the nice Touristy Spots in the Old Town of Vienna. Location Rating: 5 Stars Reception and Welcome: Imagine this.. you are tired from flight or a 5 hour train ride and you enter BWP Kaiserhof and you are greeted by a very friendly person in the front desk. Tiredness goes away and replaced by excitement to drop your luggage in your hotel room and go out and enjoy the city. Welcome is great and immediately I felt at home in beautiful Vienna. Our receptionist, Frauline Christie was great. she taught us everything about navigating the old city in the short time that we were in Vienna.. and she was always smiling and very friendly. Reception Rating: 5 Stars Room: We stayed at room 501. it was beautiful and very roomy for the three of us. Waiting for us were three delicious chocolate covered carrot cakes and on each pillow of our neatly tucked bed was a Rochefort chocolate. The room is simple but very elegant. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows.. oh those pillows are heavenly soft! the blankets and the sheets are perfect for a tired traveler. The bathroom is very nice and bathroom amenities are all 5-stars. If I will not rate the room with 5-stars, I must be crazy. Room Rating: 5-Stars Internet: Internet is free. It was spotty at times but able to use it for my browsing. I think there is room for improvement for the internet. I was given a user account for three users but we had 7 mobile and computer connections among the three of us so I requested for another user account which they gave me without any problems. Not sure if it was just us and our mobile and computer equipment but internet would drop every now and then. Internet Rating: 4 Stars Breakfast: Now.. THAT is what you call BREAKFAST. i've had breakfasts in 5-stars and well known luxury hotels during my travels but breakfast at Kaiserhof beats them all. The spread is amazing and very delicious. All sorts of spreads, breads, delicious ham and bacon.. Some Vienna sausages and the service is wonderful. Breakfast Rating: 5-Stars (if there is such a thing a 6-stars, i will give it 6-Stars PLUS) I was not disappointed. I checked out of the hotel as a very satisfied customer. I've traveled to 26 countries and I will not hesitate to say that the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Kaiserhof Wien is one of the most memorable hotels.

Stayed here for 3 nights last week. Beautiful hotel, breakfast a delight. Very welcoming. Room was excellent. Would visit again as the service in the bar was excellent. Really cosy feel , nice high ceilings and only a ten minute walk from the opera house.

« Most Beautiful and Comfortable!!! »

We had the pleasure of staying here four nights in late October. The room was beautiful, spacious, bright with plenty of natural and artificial light, well appointed including a most comfortable bed, immaculate and totally quiet. Checking in was a breeze and luckily our room was ready earlier than check-in time though they have a luggage store room in case a room is not ready. The hotel is very beautiful, from corner to corner. The staff were so very welcoming, friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet was very impressive, something for everyone! The location was terrific, only a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the historic district. I would highly recommend this hotel to all!

Great hotel. Best breakfast bar none. Good location. Easy walk into city centre. Welcome fantastic. Long walk if you got the sleeper from cologne. Great market area nearby for food. Try umar fish. Room huge. High ceilings. Felt quality throughout.

    « Exceeded expectations! »

I had read really good reviews about the Kaiserhof and they certainly lived up to the reality for us. The hotel is well located, just a little way from the centre (but very walkable) and is, as a result, much quieter than the hotels further in. It is also only a few minutes walk to Karlsplatz underground station from where you can get to anywhere in the city quite quickly. The hotel was wonderful, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts, which are included, were first class. The staff in the dining room made a really good impression, friendly, efficient and thoughtful. The ambience was quite special too, crisp linen tablecloths and napkins, sparkling chandeliers, a fresh rose on the table and a little Viennese music playing in the background. What could be better, how about a glass of bucks fizz to start the day, that's included too! On top of all that we were really pampered, with bubbly and a beautifully presented 'Kaiserhof' cake and card, to mark my birthday and our anniversary.... and when we checked out we were given a cellophane and ribbon wrapped bag of delightful little biscuits for our journey. Vienna is a beautiful city, we would love to return and when we do we will most certainly stay at the Kaiserhof again.

« Excellent stay at a beautiful hotel »

We stayed at the Best Western Kaiserhof Wien for four nights and could not fault our stay, We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Easy check in and our bags were taken to our room for us. We had booked a Junior Suite and it was lovely. Welcomed by some delicious Vienna style chocolate cake and chocolates on our pillows. Lovely spacious room with very large, comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom as well. Safe included. Breakfast was superb with a choice that covered every taste including a large variety of teas, coffees and Prosecco for those who wished! Just a short walk from the main station were you can pick up underground and trams to anywhere, We walked most places so we could see the city. I would recommend a Vienna Pass if you intend going to alot of places as it covers most - not the Belvedere - and allows you to use the hop on, hop off bus. We saved about 80 euros using this card for the two of us. There is a lovely Italian restaurant at the end of the street the hotel is on which served delicious food and wasn't too badly priced. Can not fault the hotel or it's staff and would recommend to anyone.

« Quiet, ideally located, breakfast beyond compare »

My criteria for a hotel are as follows: clean, quiet, and well connected to public transportation. The Best Western Kaiserhof met and exceeded these criteria. The hotel is on a quiet street just outside the ring road surrounding the Old Town. It's a five minute walk to Karlsplatz U-Bahn station, where three lines intersect, making it convenient to just about anywhere you might want to go in Vienna. Take the exit marked Resselpark from the underground passage and you will be on the correct side of the street for the Kaiserhof. The Opera is a 7-minute walk away. We stayed here at the beginning and end of our week touring Vienna, Prague, & Budapest. Both rooms were clean, well appointed, and quiet. The bathrooms varied in size; one had a bidet, the other, much smaller, did not. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous, and you will feel like the kaiser himself as you consume it in the very elegant dining room. Your choice of hot beverage (cappucino, etc.) is included. Every breakfast item you could possibly imagine is laid out in the buffet, and some that you would never imagine, such as honey still in the comb. The front desk staff are professionally courteous. However, their restaurant recommendations sent us to tourist traps (although admittedly serving excellent wiener schnitzel) rather than restaurants frequented by locals, which I would have preferred.

    « Gateway to Vienna's Old Town »

The Kaiserhof is located on a somewhat nondescript but historic and quiet street on the outskirts of Vienna's Old Town. The building has some of the charm and flair of old Vienna, inside and out, and is well maintained. Highlights of this hotel are as follows: A five minute walk from Karlsplatz Station, which links you by metro to just about anywhere you might want to go -- including Schonbrunn Palace - a 15-minute ride. Ten to fifteen minute's walk to the Habsburg Palace andVienna State Opera -- one of the world's great venues for fine music and ballet. Fifteen minutes walk or a few moments by taxi to the Neue Market and just about every other major attraction in the Old Town, including the best restaurants. One of the highest-quality breakfasts we've come across, ranging from the usual egg and sausage fare to healthy yogurts and muesli -- with tasty Viennese pasties, cheeses and more -- served with linen and silver in a tasteful and charming setting. A fair price, particularly in comparison to what we'd pay for a comparable place right in the Old Town. Most importantly, a friendly and helpful staff -- with special thanks to Christa, Corrine, Robert -- and the bar/restaurant team.

« Elegant Best Western Kaiserhof »

This one of the nicest Best Western hotels we've ever stayed in! The hotel is located in a more residential area and a 15-20 minute walk to the main area of Vienna. The rooms are large but the bathrooms were on the small size. The staff made our stay special...Corinne at the front desk made dinner reservations for 2 nights and helped us tremendously throughout our visit to Vienna. The beds are comfortable, clean with nice linens. We had a room on the inside of the hotel and it was very quiet. My brother had a room streetside and he heard very little noise. We will surely stay here again!!

« Far from Center, Bland/Sterile Rooms and Noisy »

I wish I had paid more attention to the location. This is quite far from the center and in a not very attractive area. The rooms are brown, brown, brown, and look like sort of bland hotel rooms (at least the business and "comfort" rooms. This is my third trip to Vienna and the least interesting or elegant hotel room I have had. My view is blocked by some sort of metal gutter- very strange. lFor the price, there are better hotels to be had far closer to the attractions.

« Perfect From Beginning to End »

The Premier Kaiserhof Wien is indeed a high-end hotel and nothing like the images a "Best Western" in the U.S. conjures up. This is a beautiful property complete with chandeliers, canopy bedded rooms, wonderful buffet breakfasts served with sparkling Prosecco--included with the price of the room I might add, attentive service and friendly, professional, helpful staff. We celebrated our anniversary at this centrally located yet quiet, property and treated ourselves to a room package which included rose petals on the bed, a nicely chilled bottle of champagne and exquisite hand-made Viennese chocolates. Our Romantic suite was elegant and very private--even the door was completely padded. My husband and I will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel when next we visit the grand city of Vienna.

« Great room and great location »

Excellent location. Only a 10 minute walk to the opera and main town square and a 8 minute walk maximum to the main Vienna subway station (Karlsplatz). The receptionist Alli was incredibly helpful in planning and giving suggestions for day trips and activities to see. She went out of her way to actually give recommendations based on her experience to help guide us and not just tell us what we want to hear. The free breakfast was amazing and better than most paid breakfasts.

    « Wonderful stay! »

First off the location was great! But more so the the hotel accomodations were superb! The room was spacious and finely appointed. The staff was wonderful, answering our questions (this was our first stop in Europe) and the breakfast was like none I have ever experienced. After our day of sightseeing we relaxed in the parlor and enjoyed a glass of wine as if it was our own living room! I can't compliment the staff enough, so professional and friendly! Absolutely love this hotel.

« Fabulous find - Imperial gem of a hotel! Excellent for anyone with allergies! »

My mother and I visited the Kaiserhgof Wien Hotel 26th - 29th October 2015. The hotel is situated in a quiet, side street, five minutes walk from the central Karlsplatz underground station, close to Karlskirche church. Celebrating it's 120th birthday next year, this gem of a hotel is a model of elegance and style with original period features, marble floors and chandeliers. It is tastefully decorated throughout and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and highly professional, and the standard of service excellent. We stayed in an allergy-free room on the mezzanine level as I have some allergies. From wooden floors and allergy-free bedding, to hypo-allergenic toiletries in the bathroom, fine attention to detail was evident everywhere. Gluten-free and lactose-free options were available at the sumptuous breakfast which we enjoyed in the light and airy salon adjacent to the main dining room. For a 5 star city break in a charming area of Vienna, I highly recommend this hotel!

    « Fantastic Hotel »

This hotel is fantastic and the staff exceptional. We were 2 couples and stayed two nights. We were both there to celebrate our anniversary. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to help us celebrate the occasion. The rooms are beautiful and clean. They have an in room safe. The hotel is well decorated sophisticated styling. The breakfast was outstanding. Lots of choices and selections of bread, jams, pastries hot and cold choices, fruit. We found it was the perfect location for us. About a 5-7 minute walk to the opera house and other attractions. Lots of nice restaurants all around. The street the hotel is on was quiet which was perfect for sleeping. We would return again. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable.

    « A superb hotel »

A charming and elegant small hotel with great historical ambience. Very well equipped, comfortable, quiet and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. A justifiably famous breakfast buffet. Great location, close to tram, bus and metro and 5-20 mins walk to most major attractions

    « A pleasure to be there. »

Very friendly staff. The room was clean although it was kind off small but everything was in place. One small issue: The room safe is operated by the room card. It may be unsafe. The staff is very very reliable but things may happen.

    « City break »

Fabulous hotel, 5 minutes from opera house, staff extremely pleasant and friendly. The room was spacious and clean we were left a complimentary bottle of water every day. The buffet breakfast was excellent something for everyone even down to a glass of champagne or Buck's Fizz if you so desired, again the waiting staff were always smiling and friendly nothing was too much trouble. This was our first time in a best western and if they are all to this standard we will most definitely use them again!!

This hotel is perfect for a visit to Vienna. Ease of access from the airport, central location, welcoming staff, clean comfortable room just to name a few plus points. We could not praise this establishment high enough.

    « Fabulous experience »

Hotel room was well-appointed and scrupulously clean. All staff helpful, friendly, and responsive - including front-desk reception, breakfast staff, and housekeeping staff. Decor was lovely and classically European. Easy walking distance to the State Opera House, and Old City must-sees. Could not have been more pleasant.

    « Viennese hospitality »

A friendly cosy feeling hotel. Near the underground for easy access to the centre of Vienna. Lovely to come home to at the end of the day. It has a sitting room full of books where you can get coffee or a drink as you relax. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I loved the chandeliers, too - of course!

    « Simply the Best! »

We stayed only for 2 nights as guests of two of our best friends getting married in Vienna! We had the best time there! All the staff really friendly and ready to help with whatever without even think about it! The hotel is very easy to reach and close to everything you may need! Their breakfast is so tasty I couldn't stop eating! Hope to be back some day with much more days to spent in Kaiserhof! Thank you everybody for the amazing stay!!

    « Old World Charm »

A delightful hotel. Takes one back to another era "Old World Charm". You couldn't ask for a better location in Vienna. It is near the shopping area, Opera House, super transportation and yet in a quiet neighbourhood. Their breakfasts are one of the best I've ever had. Book a stay here and you won't be disappointed.

    « HOSPITALITY AND SERVICE - CAPITALS! »

Well positioned, wonderful atmosphere, great breakfast, great meeting and seminar facilities for smaller groups (up to 25 people), perfect catering brought in. But most of all: the staff makes this place what it is: friendly, helpful, service oriented to our business group. Great assistance before the event, also on outside the hotel facilities they had great suggestiond that worked out perfectly. Flexible and friendly during our stay, very accomodating. We would highly recommend this place for business as well as leisure.

    « a comfortable hotel »

The hotel is quite well positioned for all touring. The reception was very friendly and the staff are pleasant and efficient. my only complaint was that my room was too warm. I had a ground floor room so opening a window all night was not really an option and apparently the ac only works in the summer! I must admit I did not complain about the temperature or lack of air so they may have been able to sort it out. Buffet breakfast was very good

« Fantastic haven in a beautiful city. »

This is our second time at the Kaiserhof and it maintains its wonderful ambience. The reception is efficient and friendly and they genuinely care for their guests. The rooms are very well-appointed with plenty of thoughtful touches while, as ever, the breakfast is superb. The lounge is a very pleasant place for a red and then ... it's only a 5-10 minute walk to the Ring. The staff are great for suggestions about where to eat and what to do.

    « People make »

Over my time travelling the world, be it for business or pleasure, I've been privileged to stay in some stunning locations & magnificent hotels. However, without doubt the best experience was our recent stay into & out of Vienna at the Best Western Premier Kaiserhof Wien. Beautiful as the hotel was, what made the Kaiserhof a standout was the PEOPLE. All the staff regardless of their role looking after guests, always went above & beyond. And believe me, I watched other guests being looked after in exactly the same manner afforded my wife & I. Every staff member was a standout & made our stay truly enjoyable. We will definitely be back. JohnR.

« First Class All The Way »

This is not your typical North American Best Western. This is luxury. It is a smaller, boutique-type hotel on a quiet side-street very close to, but just outside the tourist area. That is one of the many many things that make this hotel great. You can walk to so very much of the areas you would want to visit and also, it is close to an underground/subway station in case you wish to travel further. (by the way, the underground/subway system is great and easy to use so don't hesitate to take advantage of it to travel outside what is called, District 1-the center of the city). Check in and out was smooth and the front desk staff are eager to help and answer any questions as well as off suggestions. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was huge with everything you could want. It was a white-table-cloth meal unto itself. I would whole-heartedly recommend staying here when in Vienna.

    « Great place »

I'm usually picky, but I have to say it is one of the best hotels I stayed in Vienna (including 5 stars). Rooms are not very big, it is in a refurbished old building, but it looks like a small castle inside - it gives you a very nice feeling. Excellent breakfast, wide range of food, better than most of the 5 stars hotels I've been in. Quite area, excellent beds, they even have a pillow menu, to choose the pillow you want to sleep on :) Very friendly stuff; you can see their focus is on providing very good services.

« "The Best" Best Western »

We have stayed at Best Western Hotels in the USA, Australia Japan and Europe. We would say this is the best. Everything about it was excellent, the room, the service, the breakfast, the location, whilst it was not in the city centre it was only a short walk to many of Vienna's attraction also there were trams buses and underground station within 5 minutes

    « Romance Room »

« Fabulous hotel in Vienna! »

We had a wonderful, large room (#13). The decor was nicely done and the room was spotless. The large bathroom had a very large, wonderful double headed shower and a sink. There was a separate room with a toilet and sink and the bed was very comfortable. The room was on the first floor and right along the sidewalk but was amazingly quiet - we had great night sleeps. The included breakfast buffet had everything you could imagine to eat and everything tasted great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was just outside the ring road and very near the Opera House - very walkable to all the historic old town sites. The only possible improvement would be for fluffier bath towels! If we are ever in Vienna again, this is definitely where we would stay!

« Excellent breakfast, first class service. »

I stayed here for three days in September with my husband, we were on a train trip through Europe. This hotel was very well located for both the train stations and the important sights in the city. It was also in a quiet street. Very high quality ( better than you might expect from Best Western which I associate with cheep and cheerful ). The breakfast was really good, best of all the hotels we stayed in with great choice and quality. Would definitely go back as there is so much to see in Vienna.

    « Great hotel »

From when we first entered the hotel in the morning following a long overnight train journey to be offered strong coffee to the moment we checked out, we felt relaxed and well looked after. Our room was lovely, breakfast was excellent with a varied choice of items and staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended

    « Great Service! »

Everything about this hotel was excellent - from staff , the room, the cozy small bar/lounge area and the great breakfast buffet and the location. I can't say enough about the excellent service of all staff from the front desk, breakfast servers, bartender and cleaning staff. Everyone was helpful, friendly and provided detailed attention to whatever we needed. We had a dog with us, which they had been informed about - and there was a stainless steel water and food bowl on a towel in our room when we arrived! Great place

« Best Hotel out of 6 we stayed at in Europe »

The quality of this hotel cannot be overstated. The bed was the most comfortable, the food the most plentiful and varied. The staff was always welcoming and helpful. The location was 2 short blocks a rail stop and within walking distance of most tourist destinations.

« Perfect hotel in a beautiful city »

Stayed here during a recent 4 day trip to Vienna with my partner. We were treated to this break for my boyfriends 30th birthday present and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is approx a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Vienna past the opera house and the beautiful architecture of the many hotels and cafes vienna has to offer. A small bit of advice for those who have never visited Vienna before, have your wits about you when crossing the roads. A 'green man' on a pedestrian crossing does not mean all traffic will stop. Some filter lanes still appear to let traffic through. Also be careful of the trams and cycle lanes. A lot of locals cycle through the city and as such there are dedicated lanes on the pavements. As long as you stick to the pedestrian lane you'll be fine. So back to the hotel. We were welcomed on arrival by a very pleasant receptionist with excellent English and escorted to our room by a very helpful concierge. We had a small issue with our TV and this was sorted very quickly. We stayed in one of the 'romantic rooms' and it was gorgeous. Decorated in Orange and greys with large windows and an enormous comfortable bed. There was a mini bar, though we didn't indulge in this, but fresh bottled water was supplied every day. We even had a Ferrero Roche left on our pillows on arrival. The hotel was very quiet at night and is down a side street so we didn't get disturbed by passing traffic. Breakfast was great as a lot of people have commented. Fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, cooked breakfast, pastries, cheeses, ham. You name it, they had it. We never had to wait for a table between 8.30 and 9.30 in the morning. There was free wifi throughout the hotel and a computer in reception that we used to check in for our return flights and print our boarding passes. Staff were very helpful at suggesting local restaurants and advice regarding travelling to sights outside of central Vienna. We used the underground U4 to travel to schrobrun palace. This was very simple and cost 2.20 euro for a single trip anywhere on the line. All in all we would definitely visit Vienna again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable base with that extra bit of something special.

« Great stay at the Kaiserhof »

We recently spent five days in Vienna and stayed at the Best Westrn Kaiserhof. The hotel was an excellent choice as it was a great location within walking distance of downtown. The room was very quite roomy with a very comfortable bed. The staff on the front desk were very hospitable and quite helpful with restaurant suggestions and attraction information. We had booked three Viator excursions and when we asked directions to the pick up point they made a call and we were picked up at our hotel. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was well as good as it gets. The buffet included all kinds of hot foods as well as all kinds of fruits and pastries There was also ample jams and jellies for you liking. Overall the Kaiserhof was an excellant hotel and if I was returning to Vienna it would be my first choice. Good room, great staff, good location and a great breakfast.
