« Average quality of service and building »

I was there for business one week only. The service and building were on the average. Some receptionist was not really smart and building room is old. Wi-FI is free but field of work is limited. Generally the hotel is not so bad.

« Central location in Viborg »

I have stayed in this place 3 times now. It is something different form what we are used to in Scandinavia, but so what? The rooms have different sizes and amenities. Parking is included and you really are in the centre of this charming city.

    « Worse hotel I've been lately »

What a absolutely crap this hotel is. Hotel is at city Centre, but that's where plusses end. Hotel is devided in different buildings so I have to walk some 300 meters from my room to reception, restaurant and breakfast. Room is some 12 square meters, old worn out dump, no AC. Wifi without password, which means that every neighbour is using it, so speed is low as hell. No chance to work with it. Never again to this hotel

    « Quite interesting choice »

This "disgregated" hotel is located in the city center of Viborg, near the main Street and the bus station. It is distributed into a number of different buildings just in front of the main building hosting reception and bar. My room was large, with a double room, little kitchen, table and chair and guardrobe. The room was a bit sad, and need some refresh but was clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very large, complete of sauna. Clearly not a top choice but quite interesting indeed. The breakfast is complete, serving the typical local (cheese mainly) food, the typical British but also fruit and yogurt. The staff was gentle

    « Perfectly located »

We have stayed in this hotel twice and are quite happy with it. Rooms are a bit different in size but clean and comfortable. Staff is very serviceminded and helpful, breakfast is good and the car parking is close. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance from shops, bars and restaurants.

« Best Western Palads Viborg »

I've stayed at this hotel twice now. The bed is comfortable and the rooms are clean. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was one of the best I've ever had at a hotel. The hotel is a collection of several buildings with many different types of rooms. One room I stayed in was recently renovated and was very large. Another room was much smaller and older. The difference was reflected in the price of the room and like most things in life, you get what you pay for. I will stay here again the next time I am in the area.

« Worst value for money »

I am a frequent traveler and stay at all types of hotels. We have stayed here for a last minute changed at the plans paid over 150 euro for a rabbit hall. One of the rooms did not even had a toilet. Strongly disrecomend. Stay away. I belive it is embarrassing to have such an hotel at Europe at year 2016

« Worn down and untidy »

As a frequent guest in Viborg I have stayed at the Palads Hotel 10+ times, and the last three times I told myself that this would be the last. Now it certainly is. Since there is no other Hotels in the city centre I will opt for a bed and breakfast next time or sacrifice the location to stay at a place which is clean at lest. The Hotel standard is slipping for every stay, and the cleanliness of the rooms is also getting worse and worse for every stay. The breakfast is extremely sparse and the only good thing is the homely atmosphere and some nice bread. Its a petty because the buildings on their own are very nice and with the location in the heart of Viborg, this Hotel could be a pearl if it was properly looked after.

    « Good Danish buffet »

We enjoyed a nice Danish buffet with tartaletts, fish fillet, frikadellar, herring, some cold pasta salad, tomatoe salad and cheese followed by coffee. Service was good. Good value for money, classic and good.It is very central.

« Could be so much better »

I stayed for 3 weeks whilst on business in the area. Hotel is easy to find in the centre of Viborg but depending on what time you arrive, could be difficult to find somewhere to park before going to reception. I booked the hotel direct with Best Western but was told that if I had booked direct they could have done a better deal? There was me thinking I had booked direct! Anyway, rooms are a good size but I had to change my first allocation as it was awful, it was virtually a basement room and definitely not what I had booked ? no sauna and it was definitely not a superior room. So avoid the rooms numbered 153-155 if possible. The second room I was allocated was a lot better, sauna, spa bath, all the usual amenities etc etc. Clean but dated is probably the best way to describe it. Fridge with mini bar, tea and coffee facilities were very good. Bed was very comfy. Good points: location, some of the staff were very helpful and attentive. Bad points: Be wary of what rooms you are allocated, there was 7 of us and the difference in rooms was massive considering we all booked the same rate and same type of room. wifi was awful and wasn't worth using, I did complain and asked for the internet cable to be fixed but it never was. However, some of the others said they had no issues. Breakfast is poor with good choices but simply not enough. So when the breakfast bar was full of people which it was on lots of occasions, it simply ran out! Also, no toaster? A single kettle for tea? Noise from rooms is unbelievable, walls are thin, on many occasions people come back drunk and put music on until 0400am. Car parking although extensive is all over the place. Overall, a great location but awful wifi and difference in rooms means I wouldn't recommend this hotel or go back again. Disappointing, as they are in an excellent location and some of the staff were very helpful.

« Outdated and down an alley »

Stayed here for one night having flown into Karup for a meeting 30km away. As others have said, there is not much choice in the area. Whilst the staff are friendly and service good, I cannot score more than a 2 as it's very outdated. - outdated in all aspects - carpet, furniture etc. - my room was not in the main building - I had to walk down an alleyway to my room. Ensured I called my husband whilst going up and down it at night - whilst I'm sure the town is nice enough, as a lone female traveller I felt uncomfortable walking down the street to my room. It's well lit but just not my preference - sauna in bathroom and whirlpool bath but everything is old here so it's not like the kind in a spa that you want to jump into. - bathroom overall had a musty smell - communal areas : I needed to stay here for a while before my onward journey. The communal areas aren't great so sitting down with a laptop was tricky but staff very pleasant and accommodated me - no English TV for the business traveller. Not many channels at all - less than 10 - no headboard - whilst you've probably guessed this... No plugs by the bed or way to control lights by the bed - wifi was not good strength - could not FaceTime home and it kept disconnecting - two pillows on the double bed, not 4 (you can request more but I expect a double bed to have 4 already) - no toiletries in the room but reception will provide. As with pillows, I expect to have something in my room as I don't fancy wandering up and down the alley to reception - I had 5 showers. FIVE! One shower would have been plenty and I would exchange the other four for a shower cap in my room and an extra pillow. Shower curtain not screen. Really the fittings lets this place down a lot. But here are my positives: + large room and warm + robes + nice linen on the bed + free wifi + I think the bathroom floor was heated - very pleasant under foot whether heated or not + quiet - had no problems with noise but I stayed a week day night + fast check in and out + helpful desk staff eg ordering taxis I had no problem with water pressure or temperature but I am up quite early. A couple of reviews mention this but not a problem at all for me. The room itself was overall spotless. The bathroom tiles not so much - many areas with residue on them, need a good scrub. Needs a refurb.

« Very dated and very average »

Stayed here for 2 nights with other colleagues. Was given a room in the main hotel where others were in the rooms situated across the road. We all had much the same opinion that the hotel was very dated and really does need some improvement in all areas particularly the rooms. Bar was closed after we had been out for dinner. Overall very tatty in everybespect

« A place you can use to lodge. »

Nice location, excellent Staff and an average Breakfast. Kindness as everywhere in this nice Country that is Denmark. Standard room, nothing to highlight. Good value for money and, definitely, a place where to lodge properly.

    « Avoid »

At first this was a surprise. I got a huge room with private sauna and a jacuzzi as well as a kitchen area. I went out in the evening and coming back around midnight the party was happening. Loud music and party kept me awake all nite. Using earplugs didn't help. To make matters worse when taking a shower (in the jacuzzi) a horrible smell came out from it. Think it needed a good scrub and chlorin swirl. Giving up going to the breakfast - where the party went on just hours before - I was totally disapointed. Best Western are kinda solid when it comes to breakfast but this was the smallest I ever seen. Asking for plant milk (soy, rice, oat etc) it was a SOLID no. Seriously? It's so easy to have a spare box in the cupboard. Cost nothing and last forever... Nothing vegan to eat. I went to check out. After letting them know my issues I was given my money back. The young woman didn't seem surprised. Will not return.

« Good hotel to stay in Viborg »

Stayed here on business, to be honest there isn't much choice in the area however I'm happy I stayed here. I was in one of at least two annexes in a large room with an extraordinary bathroom. I often get just a shower and a tiny bathroom but this is the complete opposite. My room has a whirlpool bath, a separate shower and a two person sauna! Why don't all hotels have this! Room was good standard and clean with a comfortable bed. Tv was local only so no BBC world but there was a good desk and high speed wifi was free. Price seemed a little high when I booked but then I ate in the town and realised this was actually cheap. Breakfast was fairly normal Scandinavian style buffet and a good standard, coffee was poor though. Hotel is well placed in the centre of town with lots of parking.

« Good hotel in a central location »

I always stay here when I visit my parents as the location is very convenient. The rooms are spacious with self catering facilities. Fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good and they have recently started serving dinner. Parking is available on site.

« Clean and friendly but poor taste »

I chose this hotel as a last minute booking due to unforeseen events. I hear that the hotel has some very nice rooms in the main building. However, I got a room across the street, probably matching the low rate. This is what I picture a motel room would look like. The room was clean with a nice big bathroom, a kitchenette and - go figure - a sauna. Despite these practical amenities the room was one big bad taste party from the 70es with tiger striped pillows on the bed just to mention one dreadful thing that would keep any light sleeper awake. The hotel could easily make a few changes for very little money that would make these rooms more presentable. Ending this on a good note I would like to mention the great location right in the center of Viborg and that the staff was very friendly.

« Choose the Golf Hotel if possible »

Whilst the position of this hotel is good, the rooms are old and in need of a refurbishment. The staff are friendly; however, compared to the Golf Hotel, also a Best Western, this one is a huge disappointment. I would not recommend this hotel until it's had a major refurbishment.

    « Denmark Trip »

We were treated very well. Our laundry options were they could do it or we could do ourselves. Rooms were nice and clean. The shower was nice on the back wall with nice pressure but the water ran out from underneath the door and floors were wet. Nothing out of the ordinary though.

    « Scandinavian road trip »

Very nice and helpful staff. This was a very good stop-off point. Food service at dinner a bit slow and dis-jointed, almost as if short-staffed in kitchen? Breakfast good selection. Good location in the town.
