« Functional hotel, good location, great value. »

We stayed overnight at this Best Western Plus for a 2-day trip to Vancouver. This hotel seems perfect for this type of visit / getaway. It is a budget hotel, rated 3-star, and is far better on the inside than it appears from the road. Our rooms were OK - we had 2 twin beds (not queen!) and the rooms were clean. Plus, the hotel offers free parking, free breakfast and free wifi. The breakfast is functional, but we didn't mind since we just wanted to get on with our visits to nearby attractions. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location - it is very close to downtown and Vancouver's many tourist attractions. You are also a couple of blocks away from Broadway X Main St., where you can access many good restaurants for dine-in or takeout. In summary, this hotel is ideal for those who seek a place to sleep for their trip to Vancouver. Don't expect anything fancy. This is a no-frills, modest and functional hotel. It is clean, well located and secure. We found the staff to be friendly and, overall, we have no complaints with our stay. Pls. note: You must checkin before you can park your car in the hotel's gated garage. The garage is on the smaller side and it may take a few attempts to park the car. Since parking is on a first-come-first-serve basis, come in early to get a good spot and hold on it.

    « Comfort ! »

Bed was awesome - soft on top, yet supportive. A variety of pillows were on the bed, so I was able to find one that suited me perfectly. I loved the location, it seemed to be right in the middle of things that interested me.

« Worst best western plus ever stayed at in North America ! »

A lot of things were not good with this place: 1st we had a reservation made under a specific rate that found out later that this hotel did not participate in, so when we wanted to cancel our reservation because we would be paying more money for the room we could not , we had to go through with the reservation and pay the full rate. The front desk staff were very ignorant and not helpful at all and didn't care to offer any assistance whatsoever . In the room , I was very disappointed with the quality of the room we had , it's as if the room we had was for a Best western not a Best western PLUS : we had no fridge or microwave in room, the bed mattress was old and not firm - once I was lying down I was sinking to the floor . The pillows appeared to be old as well . The jacuzzi tub jets were dirty with what appeared to be mildew or dirt around the jets and drain vent. The water pressure was TERRIBLE! when taking a shower- no pressure whatsoever . The room had these old lamps from the 80's or antique - so it wasn't convenient to charge my phone or tablet because I have to look for a plug somewhere else. This hotel says they are a PLUS but they act like a simple a Best western and you pay for a PLUS rate very disappointed , will not be staying at this BW hotel again or refer to anyone.

« Good location and value »

We've stayed here a number of times because the hotel is the best value in this part of Vancouver. Check-in is easy although the parking lot (free) would be tight for larger vehicles. Staff are courteous and always offer a greeting. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Rooms not facing Kingsway are quieter but all offer good sleep. The wifi connection is fast. The included breakfast offers a good choice of hot and cold items. The restaurant next door (Bella Italia) is a decent spot for dinner.

« Dying to Felt in Vancouver »

Room was good. Breakfast OK Close to where I was taking a course. Lots of coffee shops near. Lots of construction in this area. Good grocery store across the street with a good choice of snacks and great deli.

    « so many pillows »

Thankfully there was a cancellation as every hotel was booked when we changed our driving plans and ended up in Vancouver at 4am instead of 1pm. The room was very nice, the beds were so comfortable and had 4 wonderful big pillows with a fluffy duvet. The front desk staff were fabulous and very caring. We got a great price too. The downside was we were woke up early by construction going on right under our room, they were putting in new windows, which is great for the hotel but was awful for us!

« Affordable and Easy Access to Vancouver »

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had a very good breakfast included in the room rate. Both hot and cold food options were available. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. The hotel was just 5k from city centre, so location was very good. My only criticism was the fitness room did not open until 8:30 am, so it was not possible for me to get a workout in before heading out for the day.

    « Vancouver »

Parking was very tight. Breakfast area was too small for the number of people that were eating there in the morning. The coffee maker, Krueger, was did not work. The Staff was very helpful. The adjoining restaurant was better than expected.

    « Very Pleased »

The date is not accurate as I wasn't allowed to go back on the website, we visited in July 2015, I was pleased with the hotel, I did have some concerns it was on a busy street but our room happened to be on the side street, noise was not an issue. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the continental breakfast was awesome, we were there a week and there were options with hot breakfast items, it was one of the best continental breakfast's I've had in a hotel. The rooms were clean and nice, although small that's not something I'm too concerned about as we didn't plan on spending a lot of time in the room, the parking is, let's say very unique, it's a very tiny underground parkade and I found it interesting like it was a puzzle fitting the cars in the spots, if you have a big truck or an SUV it might be a bit of an issue, also if you get back to the hotel late you might be out of luck for a spot as they are limited, there is street parking available though, overall very pleased and happy with this hotel and I will definitely stay here when visiting Vancouver again!!

« nice hotel on a noisy street »

Any rooms near Kingsway Ave are noisy, Try to get a room nearer the rear of the hotel for less noise and upper levels for better views of the mountains. The location is very qood for nearby shopping and dining and easy to drive downtown.

« Great location and clean comfterable room »

I was impressed with our room. It was bad weather while we stayed and the room was nice and comfortable, I especially loved our kind size bed and found it to be easy on my back (Have had problems with beds before). This was perfect for what we needed which was close to all our events, and still really a nice place to go "home" to. I loved the underground parking since the weather was bad, but it is first come first serve, so we decided to just park the car for the weekend. Again, the location was perfect for doing so. I enjoyed the walk to Rogers arena where we went for a hockey game! There was plenty to do and all too short. I would stay here again.

« Excellent front desk service »

Stayed one night in Sept. 2016 and left the next day to board our cruise ship. The front desk called a taxi, who was there almost immediately and then took us to the cruise port for a reasonable amount. This hotel was perfectly satisfactory for a one night stay prior to leaving on a cruise.

« Hotel will charge the full amount to your credit card at time of booking »

Not impressed at all. I booked this through booking.com only to find that the hotel put the full amount of the 3 day reservation through on my credit card right away, even though my visit wasn't for a few weeks. I cancelled the reservation the next day for unrelated reasons, now I have to wait for them to refund it to my credit card. The website says fully refundable, but now I have to wait. In 40 years of booking hotel rooms I've never once had this happen on a "cancellable" room. It's common practice to put through a pre-authorization on the credit card, but not to put the charge through. Not happy about this.

« Well kept up Hotel! »

We stayed at the Uptown Best Western Plus for 4 nights. The staff was friendly and the property was well maintained. Everything looked fresh despite the Hotel being a older Hotel. The only negative is the relatively small room size.. We would certainly stay there again..

« Still felt the same after multiple stays at this property- A Nice Homely Feel Hotel, Best Western Plus Uptown Vancouver »

We stayed here again this year, from 17 to 22 September and then from 26 September to 02 October. Nice location, Amiable and friendly staff ,Nice people looking after the Breakfast , Front staff very efficient and helpful. Room keeping staff were all good too. So, no complaints of any sort but would like the management to check the AC/Heater of Room 417 as it didn't work properly. Remote control wouldn't work as it might need to change the batteries, perhaps. We felt the need to use it only for the last two nights as weather was still nice and not so cold. When tried to use it manually there is no key to press the temperature up, not sure if it had been removed on purpose so that the temperature can not be made higher than 74, I think it was that what showed on the tiny screen of the unit and I didn't dare to lower it as then I wouldn't be able to make it higher in case I needed to . Hope you are getting what I mean with this. It was alright with us as the weather was still not very cold but it can be inconvenient to your guests in a few days time , hence felt like letting you know to repair that and it is not a complaint of any sort from us. So, other than that... all thumbs up to your team guys. Will certainly stay here again on our visits to Vancouver and yes will recommend family and friends to stay here at yours. Regards and Best Wishes. Kittiphong Schaduangrat Thailand

« Great Place to Rest Your Head »

After a long train ride it was great to receive a warm pleasant greeting from a desk clerk who cared. The room was exceptionally clean, wonderful bed to sleep, great water pressure in the shower, and the morning breakfast was the "icing on the cake"!

    « Worn out: needs a facelift »

With hotels always in high demand in Vancouver, and hardly any ever available south of the downtown core, this hotel is mostly not vacant. It should be, completely! The neighbour it's located in (Mount Pleasant) is hip, happening and teeming with cafes, coffee shops, fitness centres, a public library and the full spectrum of corporate businesses and steps away from a major hospital. We enjoyed our walk around the neighbourhood after dinner, but once the sun fell, it was time to get off the streets. The room was oddly laid out and angular, with a close-up view of the main street and sidewalk below (so very noisy). The towels were thin and the toiletries not really healthy to use (Vaseline Intensive Care came to mind when I smelled the lotion). No wine glasses or even glass glasses in the breakfast room. Breakfast the next day was really awful with the hotel oversold and hardly any room to move. The premade omelettes were made with Spam and the eggs were not really eggs, but the ones in the carton. The maple sausages were dry, but expected. The coffee was cheap and almost undrinkable. The business centre was a single computer and printer in the lobby looking out onto the busy street with no privacy and a bustle of people coming and going through the lobby. Free parking underground was a plus, but a bit tight to get in and out of. For future, I would choose another property over this one. Recommendation south of downtown is West Coast Suites on the UBC campus.

« Free Parking Not Useful, Average Location »

The room was clean but quite small. The AC did not work. While there is construction next door, we did not ever hear it. The breakfast is what you would expect for this level of hotel. However the breakfast room was so crowded each day, that we took our food to our room. The hotel advertises free parking, however you will need a very tiny car to use it. Our Honda Accord fit in a spot the first day, but on the second day, it did not. There were open spots, but in all cases had we parked in a spot we would have blocked in another car. There is nearby street parking. We were able to walk to dinner a few blocks away and to a few small craft breweries. The neighborhood appears to be up and coming, although not quite there yet. You will need a car or mass transit to get downtown.

    « Average experience »

Arriving at this Best Western for the first time I thought the lobby conveyed a bit of a shady environment as he disappeared with my credit card and drivers license to a back office for a few minutes before returning. Parking was very convenient in their underground parking although it can be very tight if you have a larger vehicle. There was always several spots available while I was here however should it become full, there is available parking on the street. I suggest that you request an upper floor room as the room I had at street level was a bit noisy with people standing outside the window talking or hearing them talk while passing by as well as car traffic noise. The room was clean however I did have a problem with being slightly allergic to either the comforter or the pillows, not sure what they were made of. Rooms were a bit dated but just fine. Breakfast was decent with hot eggs that are either scrambled or an omelette or you can make a hot waffle or the various bread, pastries, juice and cereals. The small dining area can be very crowded so it was easier for me to take my breakfast and eat in my room. Free internet access is also available but make sure you log off your email when you are done, a good practice wherever you are.

« Great staff and good location »

Enjoyed only one night stay but the staff were very accommodating and helped guide us through the sights we wanted to see Early arrival was accommodated as we had arrived early from a cruise ship. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was nicely done, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Would love to go back for a longer stay and would use BW again.

« Great hotel, great location »

I have stayed at this property several times. Great location, great staff. Love the free underground secure parking. Good price for in the city. Very quiet, just request away from the gym - sounds from their do travel a bit. Good breakfast and super clean.

    « Holiday hotel »

Mixed. Good comfortable room. Some problems with check out. Credit card used by hotel when I specifically said I would pay cash. Poky breakfast room with no choice of hot food. Major building works immediately next door with construction noise from 7.30 am.

« Very good hotel overall. »

It is a good hotel and I would recommend it all. The hotel is very well located. The staff is very good. The breakfast is very good. The best part is the vending machine for juice and coffee. The fare is somewhat high.

« nice little hotel and cheaper than downtown »

stayed here for 4 nights in september, nice hotel with friendly staff. you will need to get a bus which is a 20 min ride to downtown at the cost of around 2 dollars. has a restaurant right next door that serves great food and great service and reasonable prices. i must say a special thank you to one of the receptionists sunni, he went out of his way and pulled out all the stops to try and get us a taxi that did not turn up on time, always helpful and always polite.rooms are nice breakfast is ok and would stay here again.

« Nice hotel but far from downtown »

We arrived for a 3 night stay and our room was available before lunch. Based on reviews, we parked our rental car in the underground parking lot but space was tight. This is an oddly shaped building but has a cute waterfall with nice landscaping at the front corner. There's a small mall across the street which has a grocery and liquor store, Shopper's Drug Mart, Mark's Work Warehouse, etc. The room was nicely appointed and clean but could have used a small fridge. We had dinner at the Italian restaurant next door (they provided room service if needed). Although the prices seemed high at first, we soon realized they were reasonable for Vancouver and based on the excellent quality of the ingredients and skill of the chef, the food was better than what we cook at home. We had several seafood dishes and they used huge pieces of fish and seafood, not the frozen mixes some restaurants use. The only disappointment was the distance from downtown. We're in our mid60's and find it hard to walk too far, so the walk to the bus, finding where to transfer, etc were complicated and hard on our feet. Next time we'd pay extra to stay downtown. All the staff were friendly and professional.

« Nice hotel with a few underground parking spaces and good breakfast »

One of our family members lives in Vancouver so we go at least once a year. We've stayed in other places, but if you try to stay at a B&B in Vancouver, make sure they have parking available for YOU, because some that said they had parking meant that parking was available across a busy highway if the neighbors hadn't already gotten to it. We've had trouble in B&B's so decided to stay in this hotel which has some underground parking accessible with your room card. The underground parking is very tight and it helps to have a back-up camera or someone get out help guide you as there is only one way in and out with a sharp turn, and the spaces are small. The room was very nice as Best Western Hotels have raised their standards to where they have very nice rooms. The bed and pillows are comfortable and our window had a view of downtown and the mountains north of town. The hotel provides a nice breakfast with a good selection in the morning. There are restaurants within walking distance. Note: One problem we had is finding a parking space for our initial check-in. The highway in front of the hotel is very busy and there was no parking there. The side street had no parking, so I let my wife out and then drove into the shopping center across the side street to wait for her. After she got our room key, we drove down into the underground parking (accessed from the side street on the back of the hotel (hidden on the back.) Since you have to put your card in the card reader to open the gate, swing wide to the left as you enter the alley behind the bank so you can have the room to turn right and straighten up to get close to the card reader. By the way, the shopping center across the side street looks like it's just a grocery store, but downstairs there is a small shopping mall that might have something you needed, if the grocery store didn't have it. Also, by the way, in case you want to run over to the store for a reasonably priced bottle of wine or beer, forget it. In Canada, apparently alcohol is taxed so highly that you will wish you had stopped at the Walmart in Bellingham before you drove into Canada, so you could buy you beer and wine. That's right. the tip here is that if you're driving into Vancouver, stop at the Walmart in Bellingham and get your snacks, some beer and a bottle or two of wine. (You have to declare it at the border, so don't load up like you're a bootlegger or they're probably going to tax you for it! or worse!)

    « So So Stay »

The building was nice but small, on the corner of a busy street. Man at the counter wasn't very friendly or helpful. I believe it was a manager who came to help store our luggage until our room was ready. A/C was not very functional. In the window and facing the wrong direction, odd! The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants, stores, etc. Didn't feel it was worth the $260 per night we paid.

    5
« Uptown without upscale cost »

We were very pleased with this hotel. I chose it for its proximity to the Rocky Mountaineer train station, as well as good experiences in other Best Westerns. The room was well equipped, quiet, and comfortable. We had to leave early, so didn't experience the breakfast. The desk clerk was helpful directing us to an ATM and recommending the nice Italian restaurant next door. He also ordered a taxi for us.

    « My Stay »

I was surprised that as A Best Western Plus I was in a Best Western "Ordinary". Room was on the main floor, crampted and difficult to use.Oarking garage was a nightmare crampted difficult to negotiate for any car larger than a mini or compact! Hotel needs a total upgrade and freshening to be competitive.

« Great Value in Downtown Vancouver B.C. »

Good hotels in downtown Vancouver B.C. during the summer season are very expensive. This one is not. In more than 20 hotel stays in 8 Western state and B.C.in the last 12 months, we have found this is typical of Best Western: Comfortable rooms, nice amenities and very good to outstanding value in desirable locations.

« Daughter going to UBC »

Stayed here when we settled my daughter into college. Definitely very good value with breakfast and variety of restaurants walking distance. Urban feel but never felt dangerous to walk about. Unfortunately terrible fitness center hours so could never work out in their decent gym. Staying there again when we visit our daughter.

    4
« Not fancy but very satisfactory »

The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff was extremely helpful and the lady who worked the breakfast room went out of her way to ensure a pleasant experience. I would stay there again when visiting Vancouver. The only negative is the weird parking garage which makes you glad to rent a very small car.

    3
    « 2 night stay »

We stayed at this hotel at the start of a 2 week motorbike trip - the hotel was chosen for us as it was close the to bike hire company and had parking facilities. it was fine - fairly basic and in need of updating, but I wouldn't stay here for access to the wonderful city of Vancouver - its a good 30 minutes walk to the outskirts of the city - 20 minutes to the sky train. The breakfast room is small and overcrowded, although the self service selection wasn't bad. we were due to stay a further 2 nights at the end of our trip, but we changed to a more central hotel.

    3
« Clean room, good service, good location »

Convenient place to stay - not far from SkyTrain station - we were able to walk. Staff were incredibly helpful - found us a room to check in early. Plentiful breakfast - but small cramped room to eat it in.

« Always a pleasure to stay here. »

Always such a treat to stay here. The staff are exceptional, the rooms are always clean and comfortable, the location is central, we enjoy the breakfast, the Keurig coffee maker in the room is a nice addition, tnternet is easy to access and use.

    « Pretty good hotel »

Visited Vancouver for a wedding. This hotel is located uptown and has easy access to public transport and was steps away from several restaurants. Also there is a hospital 1 block away for which we also ended up going to. Nonetheless the staff was friendly and the atmosphere warm.

    5
    « Just as advertised »

The room was clean, quiet and larger than expected. A/C blows cold and with a Walmart nearby, saved money on food using the provided microwave and refrigerator. Beds comfortable, water warm, although the pressure could be better. Also, nonslip bathmats would be welcomed.

    « A night a the Queen E »

the hotel was a good value, a bit awkward to get to but was a comfortable, not loud, and had a great nights sleep. Would stay there again. Oh when checking find out which connection is their wifi. They gave us the password but we couldn't' figure out which locked connections was theirs.

    « Excellent value, recommended »

I had read the previous reviews so was not sure what to expect. It is a smaller hotel located on the outskirts of downtown. It is relatively easy to find and the free car parking is brilliant. The carpark has limited spaces but I had no difficulty finding a space even when the hotel was full. The room that we had (321) was a very decent size and was very comfortable and clean and quiet. It is located across the road from a small shopping mall which had a useful supermarket and drugstore as well as other small shops. It is well positioned to catch a selection of buses downtown and indeed to Stanley Park. The breakfast buffet was a terrific selection with plenty of choice in cold, some hot and even a waffle maker. The lady looking after the area was brilliant and very attentive, but yes the room is relatively small and you have to accept that space is of a premium and can only cater for about 25/30 people at a time. I accept that they do not have kitchen and cleaning facilities in the hotel and have to use paper plates and plastic cutlery, but my one gripe here is the quality of these items. They use really cheap versions and the plates are too thin and wobbly and the same for the knives etc, they should use a slightly better quality. The reception staff were friendly and helpful although I thought it was a bit strange that because I was going to pay in cash for 4 nights that they wanted payment up front and they thought it was strange when I asked for a receipt! I would definately use the hotel again if I were staying in Vancouver as it offered good value for money for its location.

    3
    « Convenient »

On bus route to Stanley Park and downtown, no 19, and walkable to underground for airport, providing you don't have lots of heavy luggage. Disappointed that no fridge in our room. Parking garage and breakfast quite challenging to organise. Staff help and friendly, room clean and comfortable.

    « Disappointing »

We stayed one night in this hotel on a first floor double room. We were hoping to get a standard Best Western experience but that was not the case. I don't recommend staying at this hotel. - Room: Spacious and clean with microwave, coffee machine and free wi-fi. It was the only positive aspect of the hotel. - Staff: We had a very bad experience with the staff. Starting from check-in we were treated as if the staff didn't care at all about us. There was a lady at the check-in desk (the staff didn't have name tags but the lady had an easter european accent) who was very unfriendly. We were really taken aback by how unprofessional and uninformed the staff were during our stay. - Breakfast: What an unpleasant experience, the breakfast room is very small, with no windows and with various tables crammed together. There is even one table behind the exit door. When we arrived we had to sit on the only available table left which was dirty. The management wrote here on tripadvisor that the guests could take the breakfast to the hotel lounge but that is not a suitable option. The lounge only has a couple of sofas and is right by the reception desk which means having breakfast while people are queuing right by you to check-in or check-out. The quality of the breakfast food was not good either. To add to a bad experience the breakfast staff walked around the tables with an open garbage bag collecting the rubbish while the guests were eating - not the hygiene standard I would expect at a Best Western. - Price and location: The hotel is overpriced, we paid close to 250 dollars for a double room, which for what we got is a terrible quality to price ratio. The hotel's location is not good either, it is far from the main attractions and the only public transport within short walking distance (less than 20 min walk) is the bus. I was expecting much more from a Best Western, what a disappointment. I recommend considering other hotels for your stay in Vancouver.

« Know the parking rules or your car will be towed »

I checked into this hotel on a Saturday. The gate to the hotel garage was broken. Security for my car was better on the street, given pedestrian and car traffic. Not being from Vancity, I did not know that if hours are not listed on a sign, it means that you cannot park there during unlisted hours or your car will be towed. My car was towed. I wish the hotel had put up a sign that cars parked on the street during certain hours would be towed. Staff was helpful in that they knew where my car had been towed and how to contact the towing yard. This must happen with some frequency. Despite the above, here is the good stuff: I was glad to get a hot breakfast with protein, not just cereal. Take your food upstairs so that you are not shoe-horned in to the hot little breakfast room with the rest of suffering humanity. The rooms are large. The hotel is near Main Street and downtown. It is also across from a supermarket. The room has a microwave and refrigerator, as well as a coffee maker.

I had a couple of issues with the cleanliness of the room but the hotel was full and we couldn't be moved. The front desk staff came to clean some of the mess which was appreciated. Disappointed that I used one of my free stays as I have stayed in hostels that had cleaner rooms...however the staff was good, breakfast was good and we got a good nights sleep.

« Watch where you park your car. »

The gate to the hotel's parking garage was destroyed at the time I stayed at this hotel. I found a parking space on the street nearby because I figured it was safer, due to street traffic, than an unguarded garage. If you park on the street, find out whether your car will be towed away.. My car was towed and I was issued a ticket. The hotel is near Main Street in Mt. Pleasant. It is also near downtown. The rooms are large and the staff was accommodating. The breakfast has hot eggs and sausage. You can take your breakfast upstairs to avoid the crowds in the packed breakfast room. There is a supermarket across the street. Rooms have a coffee machine, microwave and refrigerator.

« Central location, ok rooms, average breakfast, small parking »

Just 10 minutes to downtown Vancouver, the location is pretty good. Rooms were large and comfortable enough. The breakfast is common hotel fare. The parking area below ground is quite tight and sometimes fills up, leading to parking in overflow space in the adjacent mall area -- which you have to vacate by 9am. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    « Overnight before cruise »

Arrived at airport after 9pm. Family of 5, 4 adults and 3 year old toddler. After getting baggage and through customs, easy access at central taxi stand to large enough taxi for all of us including massive baggage. Arrived at hotel within about 30 minutes. $35 CAD. Easy checkin. Comfortable 2 rooms for overnight. Adequate pre-cruise breakfast including bacon and waffles. If you want real eggs go out but we could work around that. Options for pre cruise hotels are limited and costly so reserve early. To port from this hotel, allow 20 minutes and $15 CAD taxi for all. Wish we would have planned a morning activity in the area since all were up early which we hadn't anticipated.

« Worthless AC and Dangerous Tub in a subpar hotel »

The room was sweltering when we arrived in the evening. The Air Conditioner was not on and was simply not big enough to cool the room resulting in a very uncomfortable night of sleep. Then, when I showered in the morning, not only would the tub not drain, but the tub itself is both slippery and concave, resulting in a very painful fall and a bruised hip and a lump on my forearm. Beyond these two key issues, it was simply subpar compared with its sister hotel in Aldergrove BC (which I highly recommend).

    « Excellent hotel »

The property well maintained with good staff to serve. I was little disappointed with the location during checkin as it was not centrally located as expected, but the staff really made my experiance better. I had book my four day tour with Land-sea tours, the location was disadvantage because we were the first to pick up and last for drop. The continental breakfast was good the lady staff was very supportive.

    3
    « Needs an upgrade »

The hotel is not that bad, but really does need an upgrade. Rooms are large and spacious along with a generous bathroom. Front lobby area is way too small and the breakfast room is small as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful with calling cabs, pointing out directions and providing everything you need. We needed an affordable place to stay prior to our cruise for Alaska departing. This hotel was the best priced. Close to Olympic Village.

« Great place to stay, Friendly taff »

We stayer here prior to a cruise for two nights. The place was very clean, the Italian Restaurant located next door was great and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, etc. I would stay here again. You will not be disappointed.

    « Accommodation was ok »

Stayed here for one night on the long weekend. Easy walking distance to Laundromat and Main St Brewery. Clean, quiet and comfortable room. Would stay here again. Breakfast was ok, but the breakfast room was a bit small and cramped.

    « Vacation »

We stayed at this location for two nights. It is steps away from the bus that takes you downtown and also has many restaurants within walking distance including Starbucks, French Made and the Wallflower. There is also a mall right beside it. The room was clean and the staff for the most part were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was included and had many options including fresh fruit. I'm just not sure it was worth the price as the Fairmount in Whistler was cheaper and had more amenities. They also charge an extra room tax.

    « 3 days in Vancouver »

The hotel was a good location and easy to find on Google Maps. There is not much close by for good eating places and the pizza shop was closed for some reason while we were there. Bella, the Italian eatery was adequate but over priced. Our room was quiet, clean, good beds and the breakfast was outstanding, the breakfast clerk was very nice. Traffic in Vancouver was awful but the Hop On Hop Off trolley got us to most of the area. We drove to Whistler for the day which I would highly recommend, easy to get to 1 hr and drive scenery was great. Also enjoyed Grouse Mountain and all it has to offer, again great scenery. Parking is underground and very tight spots if you have a SUV. Not enough spots for everyone but apparently you can park across the street at the grocery store.

    4
    « Great location »

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the last few years. The location is outstanding, walking distance to Rogers, and many great local ethnic eateries. It also has free parking. They seem to update it a little bit each year. Could use some redecorating but everything is clean and in good repair. The breakfast has some ice unusual pastries as well as the usual other items.

    3
« good hotel to stay »

staff at front desk was friendly. parking is at rare of hotel which is very narrow and limited space. but free of charge. Big supermarket very close to hotel. we stayed for one day only and no issues faced. room size was ok and rate was mid range.

    3
« Average hotel for the price you pay. »

For the amount of money, its on a high side for the service you receive. Limited parking, small break fast room. Its a good hotel, but not for the price that i paid. Location is good, staff is very friendly. You may be able to find a better hotel in Vancouver if you look around.

    3
« Very small but clean »

Overall we weren't too impressed with this hotel, it was very small in many departments. Not many underground car parking spots (we had to park on the street one night), small rooms, and small breakfast area. The man who checked me in was polite but he repeated himself twice like he was on autopilot. However, the hotel was affordable, the rooms were clean and the area wasn't too bad so it was fine for a short stay. No major problems with this hotel, just a bit short on space.

  • 3
    « Noisy »

The street in front of the hotel is noisy for most of the day and night. So, couldn't open the window to sleep and the A/C was old and in poor repair. (The A/C recorded temps in Fahrenheit - Canada went metric in the 60's!) Also, self adjusted fro 69 degrees to 74.

« Good base to explore Vancouver city »

The property is located near to downtown ! To explore Vancouver this is a good option ! They provide free parking to the guest. Breakfast served was limited ! The place where they serves breakfast is very small. The front desk staff was polite and the service was good. Overall it was a comfortable stay !

    « Not great »

Although the hotel was in a good location, the room was not altogether clean and the reception staff were efficient but friendly or open. Alhtough we booked through a third party we did not find out until we arrived that their parking was limited. We were lucky and were able to get a spot, However, when I mentioned this to the reception that they should make sure customers knew this before booking. The receptionist responded it was not their problem since I booked through a third party. A customer service orientation would have been to note the information so they could inform the third party who they sell rooms to. Having incomplete information about their hotel could affect business. Inside the room the bathroom and areas on doors were not clean. Even though it is high season and this being a cheaper hotel, it did not seem like a good deal. When leaving no friendly thank you or good bye.

« Very comfortable and affordable hotel, clean and well managed »

Stayed here overnight for a medical procedure at a nearby hospital. Much cheaper than neighbouring hotels. Area is rather busy, we asked for a quiet upper room. It was more than we expected, spotlessly clean and updated. No fridge but we didn't need one. Booking, check-in and out was easy. Breakfast room was well stocked with hot and cold items including waffles although small for the large number staying there. Easy walking distance to restaurants, small shopping centre and nearby hospital.. Free underground gated parking. Would stay there again

    « Not Impressed »

Not one of the good Best Western hotels. Room just ok,Workmen right outside window making sure you are up early. The breakfast room is laughable. Small poky room with a few tables and chairs. Not acceptable for the size of the hotel. Many people could not get in and gave up. Plastic knife and forks with paper plates!! Not much choice as everything was running out faster than the lady could refill. Would not recommend or stay at this hotel ever again!!

    2
    « Disappointed »

Booked a business stay at the Best Western Uptown then had to cancel and did so 6 days before the stay was to start. They charged a $20 cancellation fee. At no point was this discussed when I booked or phoned to cancel.

    3
    « Good budget hotel »

A reasonably priced hotel for a short stay. A good half mile walk to down town Vancouver. No complaints about the room however everything at breakfast was served on plastic including plastic cutlery. I understand the logic but it made it feel a bit cheap

    4
    « pleasant mid-range hotel in a nice location »

The hotel is located in a suburban area conveniently located for nearby shopping and sightseeing, and easy to get downtown or to other major sights. The free underground parking is very useful and the rooms are quite comfortable. However, try to get a room away from the traffic noise on Kingsway ave.

    3
« Average hotel, spacious 4th floor rooms »

Hotel located not far from Main street - almost ok area. Walkable distance to some restaurants. Located in busy not that great area. Somewhat cramped entrance, not spectacular exterior (I think that was barbed wire on lower windows?). Just needed a 1 night stay, so this did the job but I would not go out of my way to stay here again. Staff nice enough but not very knowledgeable about area amenities.

    « great people »

everyone very helpful from front desk to breakfast worker to housekeeping. amazingly sweet people. clean room tho a bit small. very happy with the location and free parking. breakfast good. our room was very quiet and we slept very well. we had a very good week here

    « A bit of a let down »

We have recently stayed here, the rooms were adequate, clean ,good facilities, staff friendly, good location. The breakfast and its facilities are what let the hotel down. The room used is not fit for purpose, too small, chairs stained, no room to pass people, the selection and quality of food pretty poor. During the day the breakfast room is used as a laundry. Even the staff do not know why the management do not use the restaurant next door. This idea would undoubtably raise the hotels profile. If breakfast is offered than it should be done well.As it is the most important meal of the day. It's a shame because the rest of the hotel, was ok.

« Medical Trip plus small vacation »

Excellent Greeting; Very complete & helpful. Room clean & neat. Slept well; little noise. Staff friendly & breakfast was more than adequate. Good value for Vancouver near downtown. No problem with free in house parking. Enjoyed our stay. No complaints.

« Been to better hotels »

If you have to stay at this Hotel ask for higher floor and stay away from lower floors or the street side. Street traffic will keep you up all night. Breakfast in the morning is sufficient, decent variety. Staff are friendly and helpful.

    4
« Good hotel with easy access to downtown »

The hotel is well appointed with helpful staff. good access to downtown, airport and nearby restaurants and brew pubs via Vancouver's excellent public transport system. well worth considering as cheaper than most downtown hotels.

    4
« Clean, good location, small »

I have an over height vehicle and was able to park in the underground parking near the entrance gate which was a relief. Location was good for us because of proximity to friends on Main St. and Commercial Drive area. The hotel is small and very compact, but rooms were reasonably spacious.

    4
« Nice Property, Great Value »

Great property only a bus ride, or nice long walk to city Center. We really preferred this more residential area as it was so much less congested. So much more value for your money. Pretty view and many restaurants and shopping close by. Room was very comfortable, breakfast good. Had a courtyard not accessible to street if you wanted to go for a puff at night and feel safe.

    3
« great location and real value »

you get really good value for your money. it is not pretentious in any way. it is clean, simple and well maintained. the wifi worked very well and the breakfast was good. I always choose this hotel when I come to Vancouver.

« Not what we were expecting from Best Western... »

Stayed for one night in early May and somewhat disappointed. First off, tricky parking situation- underground limited spaces, one way entrance/exit, and restricted access. Construction going on in the buildings surrounding the hotel- a bit noisy in the day, plus multiple lanes blocked off due to construction vehicles, so almost no street parking nearby. Also no air conditioning in the downstairs lobby- hotter inside than outside- so we were sweating within first 5 min of entering, and the whole first level smelled rank like rotting eggs. Not a great first impression. Odd front desk reception- people behind the counter acted like they were annoyed to see us walk in. Sighed, laughed and kept talking despite the fact that we were the only customers in the room, made us stand there and wait, treated us as though we interrupted them. When we told them about our reservation, they seemed surprised like they weren't expecting us, asked us what kind of room we wanted, etc., despite having booked through Expedia. Didn't interact much with us. No chit chat. No warm friendly conversation. No social interaction, like they didn't care about us. Totally below Best Western standards in the United States. Didn't expect this type of difference between US and Canadian service. 3rd floor smelled like old leftover seafood- very fishy stench walking down the hallway. Very unpleasant. Unfortunately they gave us a room with 2 queen beds on this level, which looked OK at first, but then we noticed the wallpaper peeling and curtains hanging off their rails. Beds were hard and old, visible depressions from years of use, and we could feel the metal springs poking through. Sheets/bedding old, stained yellow, and rough to the touch. The bathroom was super tiny, no space to walk in without smacking the door into the tub. Smelled like weed, but ventilation window in the bathroom had no screen, so bugs flew into the room almost immediately upon opening. Forced to deal with both weed stench and flying bugs. Tub was dirty and dusty. Faucet had a leak. AC worked in the room but was very loud and awkwardly placed in the corner, too close to the floor, so it didn't circulate throughout the whole room. Plumbing worked but also really slow and very loud. Pipes rattled in the walls everytime anyone flushed the toilet or turned on a faucet. Also terrible water pressure in the shower and water was slow to heat up. No sound barriers, so you could hear everything happening outside and in adjacent rooms. Building seemed really old in general and in need of some TLC. There was a notice by the 3rd floor elevator about upcoming rennovations, but there was no mention of this on Expedia before we booked, and the rennovations seemed to be taking place in the building behind the hotel, not the actual hotel itself. I hope they do renovate the hotel. They definitely need to. Also the hotel charged us again even though we paid ahead through Expedia several weeks ago; then the hotel management could not fix the problem. First they didn't believe us that we paid through Expedia. Had to show them the receipt. Then acknowledged the Expedia payment, but suddenly denied having charged us again, despite showing them the bank statements reporting the charge. Management told us to call the bank and not to call corporate headquarters because apparently they wouldn't be able to help us either and it would just cause problems for them. Took several weeks of fighting but finally got the second charge removed. Still, very inconvenient. On the bright side, breakfast was pretty good. Unique dish offered- special omlets prepared in the Indian Hindu style. Very tasty. Breakfast lady was a sweetheart, very caring, good hospitality skills. Wished the people at the front desk had been that nice. At least the morning check out staff was more patient and considerate than the afternoon staff. We appreciated the apology for all the drama, even though they couldn't fix the issue. Despite everything, this was the most decent budget hotel in town, best available room for under $150, only 10min drive from downtown and fairly safe. No questionable characters wandering the premises. No partying. Could have been worse. Still, not what we were expecting from Best Western. If you want better service and can afford to pay hundreds, you can find some high end places downtown in the luxury skyscrapers. Just be prepared to pay twice to four times as much. Otherwise, compared to other budget hotels, this is still your best option.

    « Clean and comfortable »

Smells clean upon walking in. Looks clean and the room is clean too. Comfortable and secure parking. We have a huge pickup truck and we fit in the parking garage. Bed is good and shower is nice. I like the Keurig machine .also within walking distance from a great Indian restaurant. (Nirvana).

    « Great location! »

The location of this hotel is so convenient. Close to cafes, restaurants, public transit and a pharmacy, this is definitely a practical location and the neighbourhood is nice and safe. Rates are reasonable. I was disappointed by the breakfast room, how small the bathroom was and "housekeeping" could be improved. Overall though I would recommend this hotel.

    « Great Stay,Amazing Staff »

My husband and I stayed here while attending a conference in April. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and very professional. I needed to add a day to our stay and they helped accommodate us without moving rooms at the last minute. Everyone at the hotel was extremely nice-from check in to check out. The rooms are clean and updated, the hotel is quiet. The breakfast in the morning is a superb continental breakfast with waffles, omlets and a meat option. They keep it well stocked as people come through, fruit, pastries, cereal, yogurt, juices and coffee. The hotel does have room service available but we did not order. The parking is free, which is great, but is very tight. Free, fast wifi. Couldn't ask for a better stay for the price. Restaurants and grocery within walking distance. Again, the staff here is great. Would book here again for sure.

« Nice centrally located Hotel »

Recently stayed at this hotel to attend a concert at Rogers Arena. The hotel is centrally located and easily accessible from the airport via Skytrain Canada Line and buses. Easy transit access to Rogers Arena / BC Place from this location. The rooms have all the amenities including mini fridge and microwave. Complimentary WiFi. The hotel offers a substantial, free and popular continental breakfast with bacon, eggs and waffles. The Mount Pleasant area is aptly named with lots of amenities within easy walking distance of the hotel. I am a Best Western Rewards member and choose these properties over others. I booked this hotel on points and that process was also seamless online and at the check-in desk. I would choose this hotel again.

    3
« Overpriced and Needs Help »

this hotel uses the breakfast room as a place to sort laundry and fold laundry - the idea of mixing the linens with bacon and eggs does not appeal to me whatsoever. the air quality in the hotel is terrible - in the morning in the hallway, it is unavoidable to smell the body odour/sweat of other guests - the location is decent if you want the fun east side vibe as it is close to both Main Street and commercial drive. Upon check out, there was no question to me 'how was your stay'? -

« Best value in Vancouver »

There is not a better hotel for the money. They offer medical discounts at this location and that brings the cost down to something reasonable. Highly recommend for those attending the Vancouver General Hospital.

    « Vacation-Cruise »

It's homey, very clean, staff extremely professional & helpful. Only thing the website we booked through had there was a shuttle to the ports & close to everything. Unfortunately it's not so its a 15-20 minute taxi ride away to the port. Our room very comfortable it's a plus after a long day of flying!

« Good hotel, good location »

I stayed only overnight and I found out that it is very well located, it is within walking distance of restaurants and shops, also it is very convenient when using public transport. The rooms are good sized and comfortable but at times a bit noisy. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you take your car be sure to use the hotel parking, the entrance is located on the back alley. When registering I parked my car in a shopping centre parking lot near the hotel and the staff advised me to move it as soon as possible since tenants don't like non customers using it, but any way I had no problem. Parking spaces ares small cramped and there are not many so there is the possibility not to find places. Not very important but it is good to consider. Every thing was good and and has a very nice stay.

« Decent hotel in a decent location »

This hotel offers decent value with large rooms, a hot breakfast and free garage parking. It is right on a major thoroughfare so driving into the city is direct (if slow during rush hour) and a bus line to downtown runs right by the hotel. It is also right next to a drug store and grocery store. There are several restaurants within walking distance although the quality of these is somewhat hit or miss. The staff are polite if a bit cold. The only downside I saw was that the coffee served at breakfast was quite dreadful but they do offer keurig's with good quality coffee in each room. I'd recommend this hotel for proximity to downtown and decent amenities both within the hotel and in the surrounding vicinity.

    « Weekend Visit »

I am a 16 year customer of this hotel and have accumulated several thousand points. I decided to use points for the first two days to get maximum value for my points and prepaid for the other two days of our four day stay. The first two days was great but due to the hotel being full for the BMO marathon we were moved to a smaller room which wasn't a problem until we discovered that there was no fridge. Their website states" that a fridge and microwave are available on request". When we requested a fridge we were told "sorry we don't have one". We were told we could use the staff fridge. (NOT ACCEPTABLE). On checkout the manager, gave in my opinion, a less than sincere apology. His comment was " my average was pretty good if this the first time I didn't have a fridge". Sincere apology - I don't think so ! No compensation was offered - very disappointing indeed. Being elderly, it was no small task hauling ice for two days and using the recycle basket to keep our items that required refrigeration, cold. The manager said that fridges would be available in seven months after renovations were completed. Very unhappy long time customer.

    « Friendly staff »

Great staff at this hotel. Its an older hotel but the staff are the main reason I would stay again. Overall quality of my stay was excellent. The location worked well for my business trip. A good central location and it was quiet.

    « A hotel with sea view! »

I was here last year and it was an enjoyable stay. The rooms are good and my room had a sea view. I used to sit at the couch besides the window and watched the play of lights on night sea and the spectacular sunrise. The restaurants are within walking distance and there is a Starbucks very close to the hotel. The car parking was enough. Stanley park is walking distance too. The room services were standard.

    5
    « Great hotel »

We stayed at this hotel for a week, and the service was excellent. Staff was very helpful with anything we wanted to know or with the booking the taxi to the airport. Really nice staff. The hotel was in a good location to skytrain, food shop or chinese restaurant. And it took only few minutes walk to China town and Gastown. We were very happy with the breakfast too.

« Parking does not meet compact car standard »

And can not be available to all guests ...(not enough spaces) The underground parking occupied by employees and guests... Unless you plan on renting a two seater car Or use a motorcycle or even a bike Save yourself a big headache! Hotel management do not restrict the use to small cars therefore oversized large suvs take control of one plus spots --- Remember, you will not have peace of mind once you experience no consideration by other guests or pleasant stay if you need to find out there are no parking spots available late at night ....once you entered the basement parking and need to turn around in other words just its not simple to get out of the dungeon....when you have very little space to maneuver with lots of polls over sized vehicles. Hotel maybe is pleasant with its small lobby ; clean overall with no frills room and Without fridge ... But The dining room for breakfast is just standing ovation size of a regular room that was converted to a dining room I would suggest to Plan to take your food to your room or avoid the commotion for the no frills free breakfast . In conclusion not recommended for your nerves if you plan to expect parking with a rental car

    4
« No Frills but No Real Complaints Either! »

I recently stayed here one night, and the short of it is that it got the job done, especially considering the price! Upon entering the room, I was immediately surprised at how high the ceilings were?probably 10'. That's very strange for affordable hotels. The decor was simple but fine. The pillows were really thick and I'm a thin-pillow kind of guy, so that was a bit of an annoyance. The water drained slowly from the tub, too. Overall, though, my stay here was fine. Staff was polite and price was right. I'd definitely come back.

    « Above and beyond »

We stayed at the BW Uptown Vancouver on Sunday, April 17th. The entire city was booked at the time and first choice would have been to stay either downtown or up near the airport. Both options were either unavailable or waaaaaay too expensive. Once we expanded our field of choice however, we came upon this hotel. It was centrally located with easy access to public transportation. It was very clean and the staff went above & beyond to accommodate us even though there was a mixup with our reservation. We thought we'd booked 2 rooms but in fact, had only booked one. They were fully booked but within the hour found us an 'extra' room. Bravo!

    « vacation in Vancouver »

Found this location to be in a safe neighborhood, good access to public transportation, bus stop was a short walk away. Breakfast was well done. Lots of services.........drug store, banks, restaurants, some shopping, within easy walking distance. Had some problems with reliability of internet, and one electrical outlet was not working which caused the fridge to not be working upon arrival. Although reported, this was not fixed. I would stay here again.

« Average stay with not so happy experience »

Arrived at the hotel around 9pm and couldn't find a place to park around the hotel, so I stopped the car on a side street and got into the hotel to check in. The front desk lady Silvia had the "leave me alone" written all over her face and snickered when I asked "would you please tell me where I can park my car?", and said "Of course I can tell you!". It turned out that the park is on the back of the hotel, in a gated basement, which can only be opened with room card. The parking space is very limited and narrow. As for the room, it's average two double-bed room. On a side note, the gentleman at the front desk had much better attitude the next morning.

    3
« Average stay but high price »

I found the hotel charged a high price for not having any extra room amenities, internet was down 1 night, even the cable was down for a while as I think it was satellite ... no fridge in room, no microwave. People were all very friendly and helpful and breakfast was very handy with good fruit selection. Could use some bottled water in room or fill stations

    5
« very accommodating and nice mid range hotel »

First - there is a drastic reduction in the room cost IF the reason for your stay is medical appointments. And IF you tell them before you book. this offer is not available if you do not book directly with the hotel. Second - the room is simple and clean Third - the breakfast is great with a very attentive staff to assist during the breakfast hours. Fourth - the only negative is that the breakfast ends at 10:30 - 11:30 would be much better The restaurant next door serves as room service. the prices are high with little variety

« over all great experience »

stayed for three nights, enjoyed the breakfast each morning, very friendly helpful staff. the rooms were clean and comfortable, woke up to the construction out our window the first morning at 7:30 but not on the weekend. good location with lots around and easy access to public transit.

    « Not impressed. »

Single woman, given main floor room by the elevator. Road noise, elevator noise. Ya, won't be back here! Right by the breakfast room as well. Room itself looks clean and everything is well taken care of. Just really disappointed.

« Our point of view »

Friendly staff, good breakfast . The location was ok for a family without little kids. The breakfast room is small and you can have trouble to find available chair/table. The towels of our room were not changed regularly and we stayed there 4 nights. It was not clear if we had to ask to replace or not.

    4
« Friendly staff, great breakfast! »

Front desk staff were very welcoming. Checking in March 1st we had three rooms booked for family attending a funeral. All rooms were ready well before check in time. The rooms are clean and updated. Beds are very comfortable. All front desk staff, cleaning staff and breakfast staff clearly were very friendly and happy to be working there. What a positive atmosphere. The manager whom I observed while having my coffee in the lobby was so respectful towards all staff, no matter what position they held which made it obvious why this is a pleasant workplace and guest stay. I can not say enough about the value for the money! The breakfast was superior to any other Best Western free breakfast we've had which included hot food items as well as an excellent selection of pastries, fruit and beverages. I do wish they had offered omelettes without meat for those who don't eat meat but there was enough variety that it was not a big issue. The hot food items included sausage or bacon and omelettes with ham and a waffle maker. We would recommend this place if this is the location you need and would stay again.

    « So so. »

Overall not a great guest experience. Staff seemed unhappy and disinterested. Location was not great. What was odd to me was that despite being in a much less tourist friendly location than the Best Western on Davie street (as well as less clean and in poorer repair), the price is very similar. I would not stay here again.

hotel better than expected great price great stay. location was great not in the busiest area. very close to all the attractions we wanted to go to. cant wait to visit again. staff was extremely helpful and curtious

« Great hotel with good service »

We arrived about half an hour before our reservation and were able to get checked. We requested top floor facing the mountains and were able to be accommodated. The hotel is undergoing reparations but there was no noise or issues. The room was beautiful: super tall ceilings, a unique shape, and nice bath tub. Breakfast is also served to our surprise--eggs, bacon, waffles, etc., nothing fancy. We had a great experience. Street parking on the side street of the hotel is free after 6 pm and safe.

« Great find near heart of city »

Surprised to find a nicer hotel like this so close to the city that was affordable and not a dump. I would stay here again for sure. Great rooms and surprisingly quiet for the location. I was on the non-street side of the hotel.

« Very nice reasonably priced hotel near downtown »

The Best Western Plus Uptown Hotel is an exceptional value for the location. The hotel was very neat and clean as was my room. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful with information and directions for those of us not familiar with Vancouver. The bed in my room was very comfortable and made for a wonderful nights sleep. The only downside to the stay was the very small breakfast room that was very cramped and did not have enough seating space.

« Not enough parking, good location, clean & comfortable »

My family stayed two nights this previous week. The location and cleanliness were very good, the quality as expected from a Best Western. The continental breakfast wasn't great, but it did include a few hot items and a waffle station. There were not enough parking spots for everyone, and coming in late one evening we had to park several blocks away from the hotel. There is also no loading/drop off zone. We had other family staying at the hotel that same weekend, and our room was the only one that had a mini fridge. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    3
    « Served our purpose »

This isn't a luxury hotel but it was adequate for what we needed. 2 Double beds and I'm not 100% sure the sheets were fresh, ,they appeared slept in to me. The towels in the bathroom were very thin and had seen better days but the bathroom was clean and they provided single use sized shampoo, conditioner, and lotion so glad we brought our own. Free wifi was a plus, and free first-come-first-served parking was also a plus. The complimentary breakfast was decent with lots of pastries and sausage patties and eggs, waffles and bagels, yogurt and limited fresh fruit. Location was everything for us but felt a little high priced.

    « Great Hotel »

This was an excellent hotel for the money spent. Only thing I did not like was the bed. Both my wife and I both woke up with sore backs. Other than that, it was clean, appealing, quiet, free underground parking, breakfast. Overall, great value.

« Could use an update »

This hotel was a little bit dated, but was good for our purposes. We only stayed for a weekend while the Rugby World Cup was going on so we spent all day out anyway. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly! The complimentary breakfast was not fantastic, but that was expected. We're arrived at the hotel very late at night to check in and we were told there may or may not be parking available in the lot. If there wasn't we would have to find somewhere to park on the street. When it was 3am and we just wanted to go to bed, we were not thrilled to hear that. There were a two spots open in the lot, but both were very tight as the cars beside had parked very close or over the line. This of course could not be prevented by the hotel, but just be prepared for there to not be parking available!

    « Great Hotel »

Best clean and great hotel in the downtown area near the Vancouver General Hospital. Inexpensive and offers discount to medical customers. Multiple stays over many years now makes this my go to hotel.

    5
« Good hotel for a long stay. Have everything you need »

I realy like that I've chosen this hotel. Rooms have everything you need,: fridge, microwave, iron, hairdyer, coffemaker. Breakfast is full, and you could ytake it to the room. Hotel is located not far from the metro, there is a 19 bus to the downtown. There several pubs around. Small shopping mall with all you need. As for me the only cons is late checkin (15:00) and early checkout(11:00). General I had a good stay for normal Vacouver prices

    5
« A gem in the city of Vancouver »

I have stayed at this hotel many times over several years. The staff are helpful and professional. The hotel is centrally located and reasonably priced. Although the breakfast is not extensive it is certainly sufficient and has a number of food options (and there is a Starbucks close by if you do not see what you want) I would not hesitate to recommend it.

    5
« Great staff and property »

All of the staff go out of their way to help you. The property is close to everything and even has free parking. This is our first choice anytime we are in Vancouver and need a hotel. Very close all bus routes and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

    2
    « get some parking »

it was an average best western room, but the noise was too much outside and inside the hotel. the parking was less than acceptable and I'm sure theyve had a few fender benders in that lot. .Room service after 5pm is limited and found me leaving the hotel to find more choices

« Not really the BEST west has to offer! »

This was my secret hotel deal through hotwire. Once I uncovered the secret, I really wish it remained a secret! This is the second bad experience with a Best western property in less than 2 months, guess its high time I learnt my lesson huh? ROOM : Super small and dingy with a what I am pretty sure is a twin bed, that's being passed off for a Queen! Our room was overlooking Kingsway street but surprisingly not very noisy. LOCATION : Hotel's about a block away from the nearest bus stop. You can take #19 to downtown. Best way of reaching downtown is the bus! FOOD : Decent food in an extremely small restaurant. How they would accommodate people there (even if 5 families decided to stop by at the same time), remains a mystery to me! PARKING : I have used the word dingy before right? What about super small? I have used that as well!! Hmm.. lets see.. you get the point right? But in all fairness, I think they are doing the best they can, given their location and proximity to downtown. Its complimentary though! There's also an overflow parking option. WIFI : Complimentary. You can give this hotel a try if you are looking for an (extremely) short stay with your overnight parking taken care off! Maybe they have better rooms for people who book rooms on best western website. Again, don't quote me on this!

« best value for the dollar that I've found for a long time »

This hotel is a real bargain. We booked on Priceline which had a fantastic price including parking and breakfast. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We were on the back of the building and it was super quiet. The staff were all friendly, always smiling and helpful.

    « very pleasant/ quiet »

Really nicely renovated and friendly clean hotel. Parking underneath is tight. The Italian restaurant for dinner next door is great, but does breakfast but not until 10am. The continental is okay. Room service in the am from the Italian does not start until 10am also. Had to walk about four blocks to a diner called Lucy's which was very retro look., was good food and reasonable. Close to sky train within a couple of blocks, a older part of town. would not want to be walking around too late on ones own. Ask for the 10th Ave side as it is quieter. Alot of construction, area is close to Children s hospital area and has good medical rates. Not alot of other hotels in area if needing to stay, but really reasonable, considering being so close to downtown., Stanley park, Science Center. Granville Island

    3
« Great check in service »

Poor check out service. Limited availability of amenities requested at time of reservation. Lots of traffic noise in rooms. The Asst Manager at check out argued with a guest checking out ahead of me. The location was convenient for my business meetings.

    3
« Would stay again - good location »

Our room was clean & quiet, however our window was closed since it February, I'm but there is AC for summer because it is a very busy road out front. Never heard any noise even with construction going on next door. I wish we would have had a fridge, especially with eating out & having no place to put leftovers or to have cold drinks. I was a little surprised there wasnt one as they seem to be standard now. We felt we couldn't drive anywhere for fear of loosing our parking spot in the secured area, we have a truck & was advised parking was tight down below, so that was nice to be forewarned. Even though we didnt drive anywhere, there are a lot of great restaurants close by and easy to walk to. The location was great for our business mtgs at VGH. Staff was nice; breakfast was alright and we'd stay again as the price was decent for the city.

Nice clean room, helpful staff, reasonable breakfast. close to roger's arena for concerts or sports, restaurant next store and little shopping mall across the street. All in all everything you need around you.

    « convenience in Vancouver »

We stayed in Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver to be near our daughter. Good busses, light rail transit, driving and walking options. Easy to find places to eat within walking distance. Easy to drive to other areas of the Metro area.

    4
    « Great location »

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Plus on Kingsway. Staff were courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and well laid out. The beds were comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was adequate, not great but for the price it was good. It worked well for us because of the location on Kingsway.

    4
    « Convenient and efficient »

Good, reasonable hotel close to transport and easy walking distance to the city centre. Breakfast was provided. A good choice of foods although not too many healthy options, however. Having said that it was good to see that skim milk was provided which is an almost unheard of option in North America. Would definitely consider staying there if I returned to Vancouver.

    3
    « Just fine! »

Ok, don't get your hopes up. It's not one of those "I paid so little and it was amazing!" places. It's more like a "I paid so little, and there were no horrible surprises waiting for me" review. Staff were very pleasant, check-in and out were easily the fastest I've ever experienced (and at the rate I use hotels, that says a lot). Everything was there that you could need. I probably could have done without the A/C unit that is used to heat making so much noise all night. But you know what? The place was clean, nothing was missing, staff were accommodating, breakfast was available, water was hot, very quiet hotel, and the location was great. No complaints whatsoever.

    4
    « Uptown Best Western »

Nice, quaint, quiet hotel. Excellent location. A small mall right in behind hotel. The 2010 Olympic village only 15 minute walk. Rooms were clean and well appointed. All rooms have Kuerigs now.. Some do not have mini fridges so you need to ask. They are currently updating the rooms so should be even nicier soon. There is no pool. The fitness room is small but everything works and it has a great pool. We will definitely book this hotel again.

    « great »

Very clean and secure . the room had just been painted and the carpets and bathroom are very clean . The breakfast room was small but had a very good selection of food , including waffles , omellettes , fruit , yogurt , and pastries , among other things . The housekeeping staff were very nice and we will be going back .

« Great Value and comfy beds! »

Just outside the downtown core but an easy walk 15 min walk to the skytrain if you don't drive. Housekeepers are very nice and accommodating. Front desk was helpful in recommending nearby Sushiyama, which was amazing. Beds were super comfy. Breakfast room was very clean and the selection was surprisingly good. Free wifi was a nice bonus! NOTE Parking in this place is a nightmare, Though NOT fault of the hotel or staff. The architect obviously didn't own a car. To say it was harrowing is a kindness. This was a midsize sedan. It would be nice to maybe have an agreement with mall next door to allow patrons to park there. Even if there was a fee I would have paid it.

    4
    « Nice location »

They are doing renovation right now but we didn't notice anything. The breakfast could be a bit more protein orientated, but the waffels are good and fun (cream would be nice). Five star beds. Good location close to some of the best bars. Easy to reach bus train from the airport.

    4
    « UPTOWN OK »

Clean and close proximity to Vancouver General Hospital. Less than 10 min by vehicle. Breakfast room is small but selection is very good. Parking is a problem as parkade is small if you have a truck. TV is not HD and limited.

    4
« Good Value for a Great Location! »

We booked this hotel for ease of access to the Vancouver Boat Show and were not disappointed! Although renovations were in progress we experienced no inconvenience. Other than really tight parking for our SUV everything was certainly up to Best Western's consistent standards. We would stay again and recommend it to others . . .

    « Found our new go-to... »

We booked our room through Trivago. Got a great rate. Clean hotel with friendly staff. Location is central. Free breakfast exceeded expectations. Our room was on the Kingsway side so it was noisy when delivery trucks drove by in the night with their tailgate lifts slamming as they slammed on the brakes at the lights. Had a toilet overflow issue and no plunger was to be found. Avoided a catastrophe and found a maid to get me a plunger to unclog the crapper. Overall very happy! Lots of great stores and food around the area. This is where we stay henceforth.

    « Very nice hotel »

Spent 2 nights here with our daughters in a room with 2 doubles. Very comfortable and clean. Very good breakfast buffet included with lots of choice. Also the parking was included. Excellent value for money. Would recommend the Italian restaurant next door. Took a look at the gym, which was well stocked with a variety of equipment and had towels and a water cooler. As we were only in the room 2 nights and we had a lot of luggage I put the do not disturb sign on the door so the room would not be serviced. This was ignored. Also we were on the ground floor at the back by the courtyard and for the first night there was a really annoying rhythmic dripping all night long. Thankfully it did not happen on night 2. This is why I gave a 4 instead of a 5. Would recommend this hotel.

    4
« Bargain pricing for Vancouver, great staff »

We have stayed many times at this hotel and are never disappointed in the service and attitude of all the staff from managers to room cleaning is as good as it gets. Rooms are clean and have lots of floor space. Renovations are being done a room at a time and should make things even nicer. Front rooms are a little noisy as they are on busy Kingsway and the parking (free) is a little tight for those with larger vehicles. There is on street parking which is good until 11 am without having any bylaw visits. Not many hotels in the city priced as well as this one.

    5
    « a little gem »

staff were super. hotel room was upgraded. amenities were very good. In a changing demographic area with many restaurants and shops nearby. construction of buildings next door did not under experience.

    « A Comfortable Stay »

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night prior to my husband's surgery at the hospital which was only a 5 minute walk in the morning. The hotel was very comfortable and the breakfast was more than adequate. Would stay again when needing a hotel in this location.

    4
« Staying over for Christmas party »

Had to go through a door to access the door to this room and the neighbouring one. Window looked right out onto busy street, ground level. Service was fine. Breakfast was typical, nothing special. Not many hotels in this area. Overall, recommended.

    « Quiet boutique-style hotel »

Great place to stay. Easy drive with free parking. Even though it was on main street the hotel is quiet within. Within walking distance to everything. Reminded us of a boutique hotel. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Hallways and room very clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

« Pleasant stay at Best western plus uptown Vancouver »

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was perfect and value for money. the hotel breakfast was of great variety and of good quality too. The king sized rooms were big and spacious with nice views of the city and mountains

    « Don't bother! »

Hideous dingy, dirty room. Breakfast was inedible. Don't even bother. The price is great but....the room was REALLY awful. Carpet was dirty and the heater blew handfuls of dust all night long. Location was scary and staff was unhelpful. The place should be knocked down and re-built.

« gem of hotel near hospitals in area »

Spent three nights at the Best Western as family member needed to be close to Mount St. Joseph's Hospital. The hotel doesn't stand out from the street - but once inside it is very tastefully decorated, clean and quiet. The free parking is a bit tight in the lower garage of hotel - and would not want to be be routing around down there with a big truck - but we never had an issue getting a spot (first come basis). The room was clean, spacious and quiet from ambient street noise (construction occurring next door). There were more than enough pillows on each bed to ensure preference was found. WiFi was free and good connectivity. There is a good exercise room. The morning breakfast was very good - with a nice variety of hot and cold items - and the staff maintaining the breakfast area were friendly and attentive to hot items needing to be replaced, or any cleaning required The hotel is very reasonably priced with access to many restaurants in the area or, for us, a taxi to downtown - Canada Place area - was only $10 definitely will be staying at this hotel again in 2016

« Good Hotel with a great location »

We stayed here one night during Christmas holidays, on our way to Victoria. The check-in process was smooth. They have underground parking, with gated access. Parking spaces are a bit narrow and not symmetric. We had a minivan and it was a bit challenging to park it in a space. However, they do have limited street parking and also offer validated parking at a convenience store (across the street) as alternatives. Room was clean and well-equipped. We had a refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker in the room. WiFi access was free and with reasonable speed. They had continental breakfast that was available till 10:30 AM, a convenient option for family with small kids who wake up late. They had ham-omelette in the food table, but made a few meatless ones on our request. Check-out process was smooth. They even had a computer in the lobby, for guess access (20 minutes limit), which was convenient too. Overall, we had a short and memorable stay.

    « Awesome Stay! »

Stayed here for 3 nights. We live in Northern BC and had to come down to Van because my son had a few appointments at BC Children's hospital. The hotel gave us a very reasonable medical rate for our stay. The hotel was just a short drive to Children's hospital. The rooms were very clean, comfortable beds. We couldn't hear much outside the walks which was a good thing. The location was great. We ordered room service our first night and it arrived very fast and it was good. The hotel's continental breakfast was great as well, lots of different stuff to chose from. What we loved also was the free parking. It is first come first served but we had no problems the 3 nights we stayed. Overall I was very impressed with the hotel. Next time we have a trip to Vancouver I plan to come back to this hotel, great location, very friendly staff, clean rooms with comfortable beds. Great stay!

« Great Deal in Vancouver »

We stayed in a suite, at the front corner of the building. We had an awesome overlook of Vancouver through the giant picture windows. Wonderful room, great employees. A must stay if you want to be close to the public transportation lines and fairly close to the airport.

    4
« Nice, cozy and economical »

Pros: Nice and clean property. Well mannered and well trained staff. Very good WiFi connectivity in the room. Standard but good breakfast (cereals, breads, bagels, butter, jam, yogurt, fruits like apple, oranges and banana, fruit juices, milk tea and coeffe, muffins, croissant etc -- very good for a single person like me) Although little away from the downtown Vancouver, for the ppl like me who wants to use public transport, this property is centrally well located.Frequency of the buses connecting to major metro lines are very good. Cons: Construction happening all around the hotel. which I believe property owners have very less control over. Can not say in general, but particularly the room which I stayed had little weird arrangements, As you enter, there is narrow passage which takes little twist and turn to enter into the room and has few sharp edges. You have to be little careful while coming in and going out of the room. This was bit uncomfortable especially when I had to move my luggage. Not enough lights in this particular room.

    4
    « Great Value »

This is my second time staying here and I am again impressed. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff are friendly, breakfast is quite good. And the price is excellent for a city like this. Free wifi, breakfast, parking.

Over a period of about four years, have stayed five times at hotels in Vancouver. Four were at Best Western Uptown; one at another when the BW Uptown was unavailable on my preferred dates. For future visits, I will postpone my trip until the BW Uptown has a vacancy!

« Very will run hotel »

This may be a budget hotel, but it is very well run. The desk service was excellent and helpful. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable king size bed. Towels were new and fluffy. The breakfast was excellent. Fresh eggs and sausages along the usual fruits, pastries, and cereals, and toast. Their was an attendant there at all times to replenish the breakfast supplies. Overall, a great place at a reasonable price for downtown Vancouver.

    3
« Overall Rating Average, nothing special »

The staff is pleasant and location is convenient to downtown Vancouver. The breakfast was good but the room was too crowded, hard to find a seat, and I don't like paper coffee cups. Pillows very lumpy. We were warned about the ongoing construction next door, but the street noise and heater were also loud. Underground parking is nice to have but is tight for minivans or pickups.

    4
    « Good value »

Used this hotel for a one night stay, between cruise and flight home. Will definitely stay again. Hotel staff was very helpful and nice, even coordinated an early morning cab to the airport for me. Cab ride from Canada Place (dt Vancouver ) took about 20 min in the evening and cost about $15USD. Cab ride to airport early morning was 20 min, about $35 cad. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and I was very happy to find a bathtub (instead of just a shower).

« Very good, except for one thing. »

Good location, friendly staff, free parking and very good breakfast (be sure to go early so you can get a delicious almond croissant!) The Italian restaurant next door is also nice. Beware of one thing though: the heater/cooler is installed in such a way that it feels like an open window, so cold air and street-noise get in easily. We were awoken several times a night by passing police cars/firetrucks and being cold.

    5

« Nice service, but showing it's age. »

I stayed here for one night, it was about a 15 minute walk from Broadway/City Hall Station on the Canada Line. My room was OK, just OK, hence the reason I am not giving this hotel 4 or 5 points. My room was "strange" in that I had to use my room key to open a door, which led to 2 different rooms, one of which was my own. The bed was quite hard, and the room was cold when I entered. Heating is through a wall fan, which can be a little noisy. The room and hotel could do with a little love, I have stayed at far nicer Best Western Hotels. The rate was good, no complaints there, and the service was good - on my departure I asked for a cab, and it was there within 2 minutes.

We have stayed at BW Uptown many times for scheduled medical appointments at a nearby medical office. Always great quality and service. « Like Staying in Grandma's Cluttwred Extra Bedroom »

This hotel is more than adequate. It's well located in a decent Vancouver neighborhood with plenty of restaurant options. It's slightly in need of updating but clean and well run. The breakfast was fine and the hotel is well appointed. Our room had the feeling of being in my grandmothers extra bedroom. It was a little bit cluttered with too much furniture and the decorations were kind of old lady-ish. I'll give it 4 points because it has underground free parking and it was very convenient. One thing that was annoying is that our window frame was bent which made for a nasty draft and excessive street noise. These are the kinds of things that any hotel should fix upon discovery. I can't believe we are the first to notice it.

« Good value, comfortable stay »

Large bedroom and bathroom, quiet area about 30 mins walk to downtown or 8 mins on the bus. Very good Italian restaurant next door, and will deliver food to hotel . Staff friendly and helpful , safe deposit box free at reception. Breakfast hot and cold buffet.

« Best hotel room and best service »

Our room was very nice - two beds which makes for a larger room (keep that in mind when asked!) it had a little hallway as you entered so when the door was open there was no concern about privacy. Clean, food was good in the morning - you must try the almond croissants! Watch the coffee though it sits right beside the waffle maker. The customer service was over the top - the best we had in our stay in BC - immediately we were getting answers about locations and how far away they were but also bus numbers...details details details ...all what you want to know when you stay in a hotel. We stayed one night and had a late flight the next day - they kindly kept our luggage for us all day at no charge!!! Amazing customer service. They should be proud! This is what you want in hotel staff - happy, nice, friendly and knowledgeable.

« One night in Vancouver »

All in All this was a very nice stay. Even thought my room was on the main floor next to the lobby it was very quiet. They have a main door and small hallway that leads to your door so that helps with the noise. The ceilings in the room are very high and although that was very cool I couldn't seem to get the room warm. The other problem is I'm short and the windows are very high so closing the blinds cause a small problem. The breakfast was good and it was nice that they had a small refrigerator instead of just placing the cold items on ice. They also had a waffle maker which always makes my stay better. The staff was very nice and extra helpful. Parking was tight, first come first serve underground but with the mall next door and taxi service hopefully you won't have to move your car.

I would recommend it. Very clean, great, comfortable beds but very small bathroom. Overall I would stay there again, close to a lot of stores. The rooms are clean, the pillows a little small but it's well maintained and the staff is very friendly and courteous. The breakfast is good and you have a variety of choices.

    « Good Position »

This hotel was out of town but was on a bus route to the city and Stanley Park - about 15minutes. It was also only a short walk to the Skytrain station. Plenty of nice eateries are around and a supermarket is across the road. The room was large and comfortable, breakfast was plentiful and the staff were helpful. It is an easy drive from the airport and there is onsite parking.

I have stayed here many times over the past 5 years. Front desk staff are excellent, the rooms are clean and reasonable. The location of the hotel is very central to many of the amenities in Vancouver

Years ago we initially stayed at this hotel for the convenience however we have returned several times as we found it to be a real gem. It is clean, staff is professional and friendly and it is very affordable. It is easy to access and there is parking!! The location is perfect for us. I'll be back....

« A decent room for a fair price in a great location »

I've stayed in BWP Uptown on two occasions. The first one, when I went skiing in cypress mountain with a couple friends and the second one when I was on a round trip between Victoria and Banff with my father and his wife. The night I got there with my friends, we were unaware of the extra cost for a third person on the same double room and the attendant let my friend stay with us with no additional charge. On both occasions my group and I were treated with the utmost respect, the rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet (no additional charge) is something you don't see everyday in Canada. I like to emphasize that point because in Brazil, included breakfast is a given. Whether you are using public transportation or driving your own vehicle, this hotel is easily accessible.

A typical Best Western with friendly and helpful staff , the women on duty when I checked in were so friendly and helpful. The room was a a tad on the small side but was comfortable and clean so no complaints there , the breakfast choice was varied and starts at 6.30 which was ideal for me so I could get up early to go on various excursions. The only thing to be wary of is that the hotel is at the top of a hill if you're travelling from Main Street station , so you may want to get a bus from there rather than walk but on the plus side there is a fantastic Italian restaurant next door !!! It looks like I'll be visiting Vancouver next year and will definitely be staying at this hotel again

    « Relaxing holiday »

We have been staying at Best Western Plus Uptown for over 10 years. We are never disappointed. From the warm welcome upon check-in, helpful staff, great housekeeping staff who get it right every time, to the restaurant next door. My husband has many health issues and recently he had surgery on his foot. He had to remain off his foot as much as possible; I had ordered a wheelchair and it was delivered to the room and ready when he needed it. The front desk staff are very friendly and will take the time to chat with you (my husband loves that). The restaurant attached to the hotel is called 'Italia Bella' and the menu has been improved with many new dishes. Cam is the Chef/Owner and is always ready to welcome you when you walk through his door. His wait staff are equally great. Our stay at the hotel was nine nights and we used the restaurant for many meals; from breakfast to dinner. They makes great eggs Benedict and Mexican omelets. We had their lamb shank dinner; the lamb was so tender and the vegetables were Al dente (just the way I like them), Baked Penne so cheesy,Chef Gnocchi were so tender, Steak was great too. We had other dishes and found he has a great touch with seasoning. Many other places are either bland or too much spices and over powers the food. We will be back the next time in Vancouver.

« Good location, but has seen better times »

The hotel is in the district Mount Pleasant and has quite a good location if you are okay with staying a bit outside the city center. A big grocery store is right across from the hotel and a lot of nice coffee shops are in walking distance. Check-in and check-out went smoothly, although staff was neither motivated nor ?ecstatic?. I can understand that it is hard to say all this stuff twenty times over every day, but a smile and some nice words of welcome and maybe a few tips for eating in the neighborhood would have been appreciated. Finding a hotel with free parking in Vancouver is not easy, so I was glad to find one. Parking is great, they have a nice parking garage, the gate opens with your room key, so that is a big plus. We had a room on the first floor, the room was alright for a couple of days, but it was quite cramped and very dark. If you can, ask for a room that is not on the first floor. Our room was and we were woken every morning by the sound of the chairs being drawn around in the breakfast room which was incredibly loud. I got the impression that the hotel had seen some better times, the atmosphere was a bit depressing. Breakfast wasn't nice. You have the well-known continental breakfast with plastic cutlery and plastic cups, bagels and cream cheese out of plastic containers and juice that might have once gotten a glimpse of a real orange. The room was far too tiny and cramped every morning regardless of when you arrived. The whole amount of trash being produced by the cutlery, packaging and everything was mortifying! Not a pleasant way to start your day. All in all the stay was alright, but not enjoyable.

    « Very nice surprise »

We chose this hotel because of the great price and it was close to where we had an appointment. We were pleasantly surprised at what a great room it was. Spacious, clean, very nicely decorated. They serve a great hot breakfast as well. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. The only downside is the underground parking. It is quite small and a challenge to park in, but parking is a problem in most of Vancouver and at least it was free. We will stay there again for sure.

    « Good location »

We had two rooms at this hotel last month while visiting family a 10 minute walk away. Rooms were clean and bed fine. The front desk staff was very polite and happy when we checked in and checked out. One of our rooms was a corner room on Kingsway and the crossstreet and it was actually quiet even with the traffic. We didn't have a car but you can always find a Car To Go nearby or get a taxi. On a nice day it's nice to walk just about anywhere.

The hotel is in a great location. Close to restaurants and walking distance to a few attractions. The only downside to the hotel is the parking lot. Currently there was construction going on near by but did not affect us.

    « good experience overall »

Our only disappointment with this hotel is that there is so much waste at breakfast, mounds of garbage from throw-away plates, bowls, utencils, etc. most of which could be recycled. We find this with many BW hotels, and it gets distressing to see all the waste when, with a little effort, recycling could be implemented, since there is pick-up for recyclables throughout most cities.

Clean and quiet and close to where I needed to be for all my appointments. The bed was comfortable. No complaints. A lot of restaurants close by. Room service from restaurant next door. Room was on the small side but adequate for my purposes. Parking underground for hotel guests.

    « Tolerable »

I spent 2 nights here in May 2015. The room they put me in was this cramped tiny little corner room. There was an iron, but no ironing board. I was in Vancouver to see a concert and this was a tolerable place to crash. The continental breakfast was ok. It was breakfast and it was part of the deal...It was close to Rogers Arena. I walked back the first night because I hadn't figured out the bus. The second night I rode the bus, but probably could have walked back and gotten there at the same time or sooner. I did like the bus lines though.
