« Not the breakfast you'd expect for the price »

I loved the staff, the location (meaning its proximity to places I like), the room was awesome and extremely clean. The breakfast was a let down. All options were breads, no protein options. No hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. I will confess that if they had oatmeal I didn't notice, but oatmeal is protein Plan Y for me.

    « Worst breakfast ever! »

I would give the hotel 5 stars except for the breakfast. They do one serving of eggs; unless you are there at 7 am you are not getting any eggs. Had to ask for more coffee and half and half! Staff was friendly but only one way in and out through lobby. Not convenient.

    « Pleasantly surprised! »

Stayed here for a night with the family to go to the Color Run at Discovery Kingdom. Wasn't pleased at the thought of staying here because I'm a bit picky with hotels now, but this was the most reasonable price. The young man at the desk, Carlos, was helpful and nice. The room was very big with a sink, microwave, and pull out couch. Free shuttle and breakfast was privided although we didn't use either. They let us have an extra hour to check out. Happy with our stay here and would stay again.

    « Wonderful stay »

I only stayed one night but was very impressed by the location, quality, and price of this hotel. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful. The room was clean and quiet, and the wifi worked great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again.

    « Great location »

This hotel is steps from Discovery Kingdom. Newly remodeled, it's a typical BW Plus hotel. Very friendly, helpful staff; nice, clean rooms, big pool and spa. Book ahead, because it can fill up quickly.

« Clean and comfortable at a decent price. »

This property was easy on and off to Hwy 37 for a conference near Napa I attended. Decent continental breakfast with muffins cereal oatmeal and a waffle station with quite a bit of seating in the breakfast room. The rooms (I changed rooms once due to family) were both great. Beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. Both rooms had a microeave, fridge, and bar sink. One had sofa with pullout bed for my daughter and they brought sheets up to us before we had even unzipped our suitcases. Super friendly and attentive staff at check in and check out. If I had any negatives I would say that it is not in a great location to walk anywhere to grab a bite to eat. There is a little market a block away but beyond that you do need to drive. I would totally stay here again in a heartbeat.

    « 13th Birthday Party! »

This hotel was great! We took a crew of people (17) for my niece's 13th Birthday at Discovery Kingdom and the staff was so friendly and worked out all that we needed, we even got the adjoining rooms we requested so we could keep all the girls together. A special thank you to Sheri and Carlos at the front desk for making this happen and a very special thank you to our shuttle drivers Jorge and Nester for transporting the screaming gang with a smile.

    « Nice place...not fancy, but clean. »

BW near Discovery Kingdom won't win any awards for being fancy but it's clean and near Six Flags. The shuttle drops off and picks up so you don't have to worry about parking at the park. The hotel itself could use some updating. The fixtures are starting to give out and the tile is cracked. The A/C unit in our room is probably not long to this world. Breakfast is good. Not a huge number of choices but included with the room so I can't complain. I wish it went until at least 10:00 instead of 9:00, but that's not a huge deal.

« Clean, refurbished, not the service it used to be »

The quality of the breakfast items has severely deteriorated over the years. Where breakfast used to include oatmeal, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, breakfast to a sold-out hotel was hot hard-boiled eggs and pancakes made by a machine one at a time (the breakfast room attendant would make them, then put them in a warmer next to the machine), among the other offerings of cereal, muffins and fruit. The breakfast room itself has been redone and while it is nice in appearance, it is smaller than it was before. When checking in, the female desk clerk was in a blazer with her hair neatly done; the male desk clerk was in a polo shirt and did not offer a professional appearance. I asked for a room away from the elevator; when I went back after being given a room by the elevator, he said there was one other room available. When I asked the number; he tried to do it from memory instead of looking for the room number on the computer. Guessing I would not be receiving any further assistance, I retired to my room.

« Nice Rooms, Nice Receptionists »

Our 2-QB room was very spacious and clean. The hotel personnel were plite and friendly. Breakfast had ample choices of bread; they also had yoghurt, cereal, oatmeal, etc. But they only had boiled eggs to eat with the bread. Nonetheless, I will stay here again.

« Great service, but the bad building design gets really old, really quick. »

Everything about this hotel was standard Best Western, which is above average compared to many other hotels in the same price bracket. However, there was an inconvenience we had that I have never seen with any Best Western, let alone any other hotel. There was only one entrance, which also doubled as the exit. So, if you want to go anywhere, even if it was to "quickly" get something out of your car, you'd have to walk around the building (because the lobby is located far away from any room unless you literally have the first 10 rooms on the first floor), then walk around the building again in the opposite direction, and then some more, just to get to the parking lot. Then, you'd have to carry all of your stuff back the same way. What? Why? I might sound petty for complaining about this, but one of the main things about a hotel is how convenient and accommodating it is to its paying guests, so why would you only have one entrance, when every other hotel has at least two? If its for security purposes, here's an easy solution: make another entrance, and lock it so that only cardholders can access it. PROBLEM SOLVED.

    « nice stay »

Nice hotel. Only bummer is there was no waffle iron either morning of our stay and no protein available. Carbs, carbs, carbs. Did appreciate the shuttle to Six Flags. There is a Chinese restaurant to the south on Fairground Drive called Annies that is awesome.

    « Good Stay »

We stayed for two nights and encountered no problems with our stay. They offer free shuttle service to Discover Kingdom (we did not use this service). The room itself was clean and comfortable. There isn't much retail in the immediate vicinity but there are big shopping centers only a 5-7 min drive away.

« Stay far away from this place »

This is a very dishonest hotel and should be investigated. We had a item stolen from are room while room service was in are room? After letting the so called manager Dasha Buttler know what happened she informed me of the fine print during check in that they are not responsible for lost, damaged,or STOLEN items.Just a reminder for pepole staying here lock up your belongings the staff here can not be trusted.

« Not worth it. Poor quality and service. »

Pros: Location to 6 Flags, free shuttle to park, pet friendly, wifi was fine. Cons: Breakfast was not really a breakfast - just some bread and cereal, understaffed (check-in took a long time) stained floors. Refrigerator spoiled our food. Rooms were overpriced. Brown stain on towel. The refrigerator was not working so I called and they sent maintenance in who said there was no problem. When we came back from 6 flags we knew the food had spoiled. We tried to save it by putting it into an ice chest but the moment we opened the milk we could smell the sourness. When we called to complain about the problem they discounted our room after completing what seemed like a very thorough confirmation of our story. Unfortunately, the issue that the front desk person claimed to resolve was actually not in his power to resolve. So our discount was not applied and upon calling the location was told that essentially the person had lied. I was advised to email a person explaining the situation and now haven't heard anything back. Really poor showing.

    « nice exterior, but... »

nice exterior, first impression was nice. room itself was nice, unfortunately the blow dryer was not working. i was in the swimming pool until later in the night, after taking a shower, i was hoping to blow dry my hair to go to bed. unfortunately, blow dryer was not working, ended up having to wait up longer than i wanted to, before going to bed. the air suction in the restroom was not working in the restroom... you can imagine

    « OK stay »

OK: Room quality, breakfast, location, staff Negative: Room 122 is located on the ground floor next to the breakfast room, the ice machine, the washing room and the pool area = a lot of noise at hours of the day when you don't want to hear them.

    « Discovery Kingdom »

Good location but plan on getting breakfast someplace else.Discovery Kingdom is right there but not much else. You have to eat at the park or drive a few miles, other than those drawbacks it is a good place to stay.

« Convenient for Six Flags »

The customer service was excellent! The pool, and hot tub were both clean and much needed after a 6 hour drive. The lobby is clean and has cold water and hot coffee 24 hours. The shuttle to the park was great and the driver was friendly. I wish I would have known Saturday breakfast was only toast, cereal and an apple,. I would have gotten my family items from safeway and slept in longer. The rooms are outdated and need to be updated. New bedding, new sofa sleeper is a must (very dirty and stained). FYI: Please vacuum under beds and the sleeper for the next guests. The carpets are gross, in fact made my socks black. This place can be a gold mine with a little TLC inside the rooms. You have a great staff, the decor and cleanliness need to match.

« No PLUS at this Best Western »

Great service extremely poor room. Noisy and poorly appointed. This is a Best Western Plus but the quality of the room was less than a regular Best Western. No fridge and only room for one person to sit (other than the bed) and the noise from the elevator keeps you awake all night.

    « Wine Trip »

Stayed at hotel after visiting wine country, hotel was nice the breakfast was good. Check in was easy the clerk was very friendly. My only complaint would be the noise from the kids running up and down the hall way.

« Not worth the money paid »

Booked the hotel through another site - found out during check-in that I am a member of their rewards club (It's been awhile) - you would think that would get me something. (As it would at their main competitor) but no. You pay top dollar no matter what. The Pepsi machines (Apparently no Coke contract like their competitor) doesn't have MUG root beer. The only Pepsi product I would consider. The television in the room receives only an ANALOG signal...what century is this again? The selection at breakfast could have been better - like a meat entree (sausage patties or links) to go with my runny eggs. Of course they don't monitor all the freeloaders who hog the food enough for 3 meals back to their rooms. I ask the front desk for transportation options - trying to get to San Francisco - "There's a bus stop across the street" is all they'd say. The room was clean, the bed comfortable... but the shower didn't put out water - instead of apologizing or 'making it right' - the staff clerk thought it would be more fun to insinuate that the lack of water was somehow my fault by saying "Oh, sometimes the plunger thing sticks" - No water is no water no matter what the plunger does. Then she says; "I'll have someone look into it.." - That's GREAT for the next guest. Thanks for nothing...if the Holiday Inn Express wasn't full (And I don't wonder why) - I would've stayed there. But $168 is ridiculously high for this place! Never again.

« My Go To Place to Stay »

Short and Sweet. Value ($100 more for another Best Western about 20 miles away), courteous, professional, personable, and friendly staff. The entire complex is always in beautiful shape. Well taken care of and maintained. The rooms are very well cleaned (which I always look at in a room) and everything works as it should! I stay here when I visit the Bay Area for it's location, value, quality, and just a good place to lay my head. And when I do sleep I sleep really well as the beds are wonderful and the location is quiet. Well Done Best Western. Properties like this is why I come back each time.

« Very comfortable room with a bit of extra space »

The room was very comfortable and we appreciate the extra space since there were four of us. The chairs at the table were also comfortable padded so we had a place to sit. The breakfast room was nice, but a bit crowded while we were in there fixing our food.

« Don't let the Ads fool you !!! Not worth it !!! »

The room was not worth $189.00/night at all. First of all, the surrounding grounds, parking lot all the way to the Valero Gas station across the street was filled with crackheads/druggies asking for money. I had to move my car someplace safer because I didn't see any security in or around the hotel, and it was dark in the parking lot area. The room was not clean at all, I took pictures of candy wrappers, used gummy bear pouches on the floor by the bed and in the bathroom. There was also a broken hanger on the floor by the A/C unit. Then, the window curtain by the A/C is catching all the air coming out of the vent which you could not adjust, thus causing like a chute like effect and we have to put something to weigh it down so nobody could see in our room, and so we could feel the AC. The sofa bed was supposed to be fixed/ set up and ready to use, but it wasn't. Instead it was dirty, stained and smelly, that none of us, specially our kids didn't even want to sit on it. I have pictures of that too. It was overall a horrible overnight experience and not worth what we paid for at all. They should pay me to stay in that hotel again, I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anybody specially my family and friends. The only thing that was good was the free breakfast, it was OK, but I feel like we paid $189.00 for a very expensive breakfast.

    « Friendly and Welcoming »

Nice and friendly staff that were very professional which I really appreciated! thankfully, our room was so spacious so the children were not so confined and there was plenty of room to breath! Also very comfortable and cozy too. The shuttle to Six Flags is very convenient and we enjoyed the wonderful breakfast provided with a variety of choices... an enjoyable stay which I would definitely recommend!

    « One night stay »

The room was very nice and provided excellent value for the price. The service was excellent, the check in was easy. The receptionist was very competent and friendly. I didn't have need for it, but it is directly across the street from the amusement park.

    « Served its purpose »

The hotel was about 45 minutes to Napa and San Francisco and about 3 hours from Yosemite. It was nice drive from Yosemite to the hotel and then worked really well to drive to Napa and the next day to San Francisco. The hotel is very nice and clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. The wifi worked great. There are limited places to eat around, but recommend Jalapenos if you are into Mexican food.

    « Unpleasant Stay »

I was on business travel, and this was the worst experience ever! They "upgrade" my room and it was felty, carpet was gross, the smell of the room give allergies and top of that a weird motor noise doesn't let me sleep. I complained when I check out and they just said "so sorry" ....... I will give -5

    « Nice clean hotel »

Great location, clean room, friendly staff. I liked that they had ice water available in the lobby. We caught Uber to the ferry and it was a short trip to the ferry and much cheaper than staying in the city and didn't have to fight the traffic. They only problem we had was an uncomfortable bed

    « Alright »

Our hotel room smelled a little strange, nothing too offensive, but not very inviting. The beds were SOOOO rock hard. The night checkin lady was a little short with me, but the rest of the staff very friendly. This place is walking distance to the theme park so that is a plus. The pool is a little small though...

« Amazing Front Desk Staff! »

Lets start with location - located right next to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, this definitely fills the "convenience" quota. The rooms were spacious - we had a king sized bed with a hideaway couch, refrigerator, microwave, free wi-fi. Breakfast was an actual breakfast - waffle maker, eggs, muffins, toast, cereal... a nice spread, a a great cost saver for my family of 5! If I had to mention my favorite part however, it was the kindness of the evening front desk staff. The two ladies were amazing! They helped my family feel welcomed, secured extra blankets, and even helped recommend an awesome spot for dinner... seriously, if you are heading to Vallejo, stop by Gracie's BBQ for some awesome ribs! I am very happy to endorse the staff and amenities at this site... and for parents looking at heading to Six Flags, the hotel has discounted tickets too!

« Not worth the money »

We stayed there one night -- which was one night too many. There was an empty pizza box on the floor outside our room which only got moved when we complained; they did not have any toothbrushes even though the sign in the room said "Forgot something? Ask us"); there was no extra roll of toilet paper -- had to go downstairs and get some; the smoke alarms went off at 5:00 am because somebody burned toast (?) and it took forever to get it turned off; they ran out of butter at breakfast so no butter on toast or waffles; the coffee was like sludge. The only reason we stayed there was because it was close to Six Flags -- that's the only reason I gave it even 2 stars. Definitely not worth the $206 (including taxes) per night.

    « JustSay away! »

This is the worst hotel ever. Made the reservation months ago. Called later to get a 1 bedroom suite because of expanding people going. Told them number of people, (4) and # of dogs (7). Got hear at 4am got grief for # of people. Told the gal at the desk 6 dogs accidentally. 4 am after driving for 14 hours... the maids don't service our room. Had to call the desk. The maids had gone home by then, so they sent someone with towels and emptied the trash. Not a big deal. This morning up early for an early ring time... the night manager locks us out of our room says we have too many people and dogs in the room. Says we have to move. Add a room. I tell her we can't afford another room. At the outrageous prices being charged. I offer to have 1 dog sleep in the car. She says I can't do that either. I ask why not? She says they will bark. I tell her that there are dogs in cars all.over the parking lot. She says there are not. I tell her we need to talk to the manager when we get back from the show. we got charged even more $$$$. I still haven't received the receipt via email. my room wasn't cleaned 3 out of the 5 nights we were there. We checked out 1 day early because 2 more cars had their windows busted in and robbed the night before. we were there for 5 nights and a Uhaul truck was stolen, another truck broken in to and tools stolen, and 2 cars windows broken.

    « Family »

This was a very nice place to meet up with my son and family for a couple of days. We had a nice visit we went to the jelly belly factory. my granddaughter performed in a gymnastic tournament, she is seven and she won a townsmen. Nice clean rooms, kind and curtious staff.

« Pleasant stay right next to Six Flags »

The shuttle service to and fro from Six Flags was great. The breakfast had lots of variety. My kids had fun at the pool. The beds were pretty comfortable. The sink being outside the bathroom meant that my waking up early woke everyone up when I brushed my teeth. The water in tub took a long time to drain. The carpets had not been cleaned very well. But these were minor inconveniences. Overall we had a great time at this BW.

    « Best Hotel experience »

Ebonyia at the front desk is amazingly proficient at her job, she made the check in process speedy while being informative. The only problem I found was that our bathroom did not have a fan or any ventilation so it became very humid and hot in the bathroom.

« No complaints. A very pleasant stayy »

I was a little wary after reading the wildly mixed reviews on this hotel, but couldn't have been more pleased with my brief stay. It would have been difficult to find anything seriously wrong even if I had tried and I am, in general, a very seasoned traveler. Unlike other reviewers I found the property to be very clean and well maintained with a very friendly and welcoming front desk. True, it isn't in the best neighborhood but nor it in the worst. Security problems can happen anywhere to anyone. Just always exercise caution no matter where you are. The room was spacious, the bed was clean and comfortable and free of any bugs, the floor was as quiet as you might expect in any hotel and it was perfectly located for my purposes. The breakfast was not lavish but perfectly adequate. This was a good solid choice and comparable to any national chain of modestly priced hotel/motels.

« Off the Beaten Path »

After reading several really bad reviews on this hotel I was worried.... what a pleasant surprise... the front desk staff was welcoming and helpful in where to eat, things to do in the area... They are very close to the amusement park so for families with kids it's great... they have a shuttle .... We were going to wine country so this was a close option that didn't break the bank for the 4 nights we wanted to be in the area... Looks like they have been doing some remodelling, our room was huge.. everything was clean, beds were comfortable.. we were right by the stair well so easy for up and down access without using the elevator and we weren't bothered by any noise... Pool and hot tub were cleaned every morning and temp of both was wonderful.... our only comment is if you like to walk to restaurants, there isn't that option here... there are plenty about a 10 to 15 minute drive away, but we like this closer as we enjoy an evening stroll...the selection for breakfast is normal muffins, toast, cereal, fruit,,, we were more than satisfied Not sure about some of the reviews I saw, but I didn't have any complaints... hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we did...

    « Last Minute Trip »

Room was very spacious and clean. Staff was very friendly and professional. Only one entrance and exit and that is the front. Would have been nice to be able to enter and exit from the side door that was literally right next to our room with your room key of course. This was the first hotel I've been to that did not allow you entrance or exit from another door with your room key. Maybe they had problems in the past but it would have been convenient. All day coffee and ice water in the lobby is nice. I didn't know the property allowed pets until I heard the dog next door barking literally all night long. I figured it may have been a service dog. Breakfast was nice. Due to the closeness in proximity of the hotel to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, it would have been awesome to receive a discount or something...or a book of coupons or something kind of like the hotels around Disneyland. Other than that the hotel was very pleasant. We purchased season passes for our family during this trip so we will be staying at this hotel a lot this season. :)

« Awesome place to stay »

The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, rooms are clean and comfortable. After a long day you can kick back and relax in the hot tub or take a swim in the pool. Enjoy a good healthy breakfast to get you going in the morning.

« Nice location and quality »

Excellent access to highway, shopping, amusement park and the Vallejo area. Great place to stay. Front desk and security people are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. We will be back.

    « excellent location / great staff »

The location is great for six flags park, and the staff was very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Many families used the included breakfast and the staff kept it well stocked during the open hours.

    « Shuttle »

Love the shuttle for Six Flags starts at 10am every 15min till 3pm and you can even use shuttle day of arrival and check in your room after 3pm. This is awesome for taking grandkids . We get there at 10am head to park via shuttle come back @ 3pm rest up and head back out again.

    « Vallejo »

Close to Discovery Kingdom, easy freeway access with sufficient parking although limited if towing a trailer. Clean with good security. Room was large with two desks, easy chair, couch, fridge, and microwave. Signs with room numbers could be better placed opposite elevator. I would stay again on next visit to Vallejo.

« Another Great Best Western Stay »

Very nice place to stay. Convenient access to the Bay Area and at a great price compared to other Hotels of lesser quality just miles away. The parking lot was a little cramped but it wasn't a busy night. Great Staff. Room was FANTASTIC. Very nice place to stay for all the reasons you can think of.

« Clean Comfy bed, Horrible breakfast. »

Like they said your first impression is the best. Well not here, first step we took on the hall way to our room, very very dirty carpet. We were like all no, please let the room be clean. Bed was on the hard side which we loved, felt very comfy for us, sheets smelled very clean. It has been one of the best hotel beds. But the carpet in the room is in need of a deep cleaning. Shower had a great water pressure. Breakfast is horrible, when we first got there it looked like the worker that was attending the breakfast area left with her breakfast and never saw her again to let her know that there was no pancake mix and other stuff missing. We had a good night sleep which is the main thing. We would stay here again.

    « Best in Vallejo »

I had a horrific experience with other motels in the area. I ended up going to Best Western and I am so great full I did! Every visit back to Six Flags I am most definitely staying here! Very very clean, professional and courteous.

    « horrible bed »

the bed was awful and all the ice machines were broke. Breakfast was a joke. Do not recommend this place if your would like to actually sleep. The pool and hot tub were over crowded as well. Had problems with a Best Western in Florida as well. Do NOT recommend this chain.

    « A Job Well Done... »

I was a guest at this location from 4/7/16 thru 4/9/16. Writing reviews are definately not the "norm" for me, however, I simply would like to point out the true professionalism and courtesy with regard to the team friendly staff you employ here. As a previous manager myself, I know that attitude is everything. Not to mention the good o'l friendly smile. True customer service has died in recent times, and its good to see that it still exist here at the Best Western @ Discovery Kingdom. "people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I was treated as if i were the only one here, and to feel that way when they were quite busy is a rarity. Please take the time to acknowledge your Team. I don't like to use individual names, only because we start, win, lose, and are only as fast as our most challenged team member. One vision,One Goal, One planet. Thank you very much for a job well done. Benny Burton

« What good is a hotel if the beds are bad? »

People were nice, place was clean. Couldn't sleep because the beds were uncomfortable. Also, pool/ hot tub were dirty and cold. Breakfast was okay, but no room to sit and they have a policy you can't remove food from the breakfast room. So, for me 3 strikes - they're out. If these things don't bother you than it would be a fine place to stay.

« Perfect location to Six Flags! »

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the best part was that we could walk to Six Flags from the hotel. We took the hotel shuttle to Six Flags (runs every hour) and then walked back that night. Pool was heated and clean. We missed the breakfast because we slept in but it was included in the price! The price was very reasonable!

    « It's good enough Hotel »

Or stay here was pleasant. Stay here for 3 days for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Found out they have a shuttle that takes you there and back. That was great. Breakfast not so good. Pancakes are terrible, there's no bacon or sausage boiled eggs and yogurt. Other than that it was okay stay.

« Inappropriate and terrorizing behavior by Security Employee »

My 2 young adult nieces and I stayed at the this hotel recently because of its close proximity to Discovery Kingdom. After a day visiting Muir Woods and Pt. Reyes Peninsula we were exhausted when we checked in. We were sound asleep at 9:30 PM, and awakened by someone knocking at our door at 11:30 PM. The person said they were security but was hiding so I could not see him thru the peephole and would not state his purpose, other than to repeat he was Security and wanted to know if we were in Room 210. I told him yes and asked what he wanted. He would not show his face, so I assumed it was a scam. I screamed to get the "bleep" away from our door. I then contacted the front desk and told the woman what just happened. She merely said, Yeah, and placed me on hold. Then the Security employee came on the phone and told me he had a noise complaint "from" our room. I told him that was impossible because we were sound asleep, which he should have known since he was at our door. I asked him why he was hiding from the peephole and he yelled "I could put you out for talking to me like that" and hung up on me! I truly believe he was either hoping one of my nieces would have opened the door or he was hoping we were not in the room and was going to hide or rob us, who knows! For the rest of the evening, we received hang up calls! I reported this to the manager and requested a phone call. I have called and left messages, and it is now a week gone by and no phone call or explanation. Shady employee is going to end up raping some unsuspecting guest who opens the door to his late night antics!

« Recent stay for dog show »

Overall good place to stay in Vallejo for the dog shows, feels safe, clean, nothing to get excited about for breakfast (especially if you don't want bread), but all in all a good stay, and will be back.

« Car Vandalized in parking lot staff no help »

We have stayed at this hotel many times over many years and have had excellent rooms and service. This hotel is very close to a Six Flags park and gets a a lot of weekend and family business. Between Friday night and Saturday, our car was vandalized along with 5 others in the parking lot. Staff claimed they tried to contact our room but could not find check in card. That was a lie, afternoon clerk found the card instantly. They morning staff is lazy. They also stated that only one person could view the security camera video, but they did not think that would ever happen. Why have cameras if not one will view the recordings?!!

    « Good enough hotel »

We stayed at BW Vallejo for one night going back to SF from Napa. The hotel was easy to find, the lobby was absolutely filthy, the room was fine and the breakfast was adequat although both I and two other patrons had problem finding breakfast items. At any rate it gave cause for interacting with fellow travellers that it took three of us to locate the butter and the yoghurt...

    « Affordable »

We spent 5 weeks at this hotel while in town for business. Our room was comfortable and aside from stained furniture, clean. The majority of the staff was friendly, although in my opinion could use more training handling guest concerns. The maintenance man, Orlando and the housekeeping staff are top notch. They work very hard every day and always with a smile. So let's go into why the poor rating: The hotel is located near Six Flags and nothing else. You don't dare walk anywhere unless you're fine with people demanding you give them something i.e. Money, food, cigarettes, whatever they think you have that they should. They come on the property too although in fairness they do try to stop it. Many of the guests are out of town workers, like ourselves. While most of these guys are there to work and sleep, there are enough of them that party on their off time to make your stay uncomfortable. Loud music, loud shouting, so much pot smoke the lobby is filled with the scent. The free "hot" breakfast is by far inferior to other Best Westerns. You can make your own waffle, if the guest before you hasn't already made theirs stick and burn and some days you get scrambled eggs, some days hard boiled. There are three types of sugar cereal to choose from, muffins and bread for toast. Semi-fresh apples and oranges and yogurt. If you're not on the first floor, use the stairs. The elevator operating permit is expired by a year and it's not uncommon for it to stick between floors. Another guest told me he was stuck in it for 10 minutes, our experience had the longest under a minute. Still scary. When we booked this hotel there was no mention of renovations slated for the time of our stay. I just opened my door one day to find the carpet being ripped out. When the smell of the glue used made me I'll, the manager was quick to offer another room if needed for the night, have fans set up in the hall and a discount on that night's stay. The only real inconvenience after that was a lot of noise during the day. All of these issues and more were addressed with front desk staff, one claiming to be the assistant manager. Only after a few weeks did I find out he was not. After writing Best Western to report inappropriate issues, the Manager asked if everything was alright. We discussed the issues, and it seems while none of mine had been reported to her. Efforts to improve things were noticeable, including problem guests being asked to leave. In my opinion, the problems with this hotel are due to the ownership's lack of having any concern with guest comfort whatsoever. They seem to be fine knowing they have guaranteed income provided from companies who need temporary housing for their employees and tour groups spending one night at a time. As such a frequent and often long term guest of Best Westerns, it is my opinion that this hotel should not be allowed to part of the Best Western franchise.

« Customer Service has gone down severely!! »

I have stayed at this location MANY times. I have written rave reviews on it and this stay not only disappointed me, but absolutely swayed me to NEVER stay again. The sheer amount of unprofessional, rude and complete lack of customer service at this establishment by the employees and the manager was almost shocking. I have never encountered a problem here in the past, and this time every thing was a problem. Normally if we arrive early, a clerk at least views the rooms to see if something is available. We arrived early at 1:30pm and the clerk informed us that nothing was updated and "she" was on lunch for about an hour. Understanding the hotel business, I know this means either the housekeeping supervisor or front desk manager did not update dirty rooms to clean. Awesome, just put your employee at a disadvantage to help a customer. I could have totally accepted even an effort to look , instead "the person who updates rooms is at lunch". An offer to park, anything. A few hours later we went to check in, and the manger started the process. She then shifted us to a different desk clerk. This clerk was so unprofessional we had to ask if we needed to sign anything, what our room number was and what about shuttle or breakfast tickets. The desk was out of shuttle tickets. He then directed us to an elevator at the opposite side of the building from our room. The manager was frowning the whole time and there was a line out the door. It was by far my worst check in experience. Every time we walked through the lobby, no one smiled said or hello or did anything besides look like they were pissed off. In the past, the staff was what made this location awesome. I do not need to feel like I am doing someone a favor by coming to their establishment. It is a shame, as their rooms are very clean and roomy. Housekeeping is nice, and now that they have replaced the gawd awful carpet in the halls, the place is all around very nice. The location is close to Discovery Kingdom with a very convenient shuttle and a decent free breakfast. Unfortunately the lack of customer service compelled me to move to theanother hotel, a 10 minute drive from the park we were visiting. Maybe some of the money being spent on remodeling should be spent in retraining.

    « Prepare for a deposit »

Be prepared to pay a $100 security deposit for any damages you may cause, that won't be refunded for 2-10 days. Request to inspect the room prior to paying this deposit and ask for a list of what they consider as damages. Additionally, the hotel doesn't take Legal U.S. Currency/Tender as a form a payment.

    « Good Times »

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, it is in a very convenient place. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are nice and well kept. This is always my first choice when staying in the area. I wish there were more vending choices/

    « comfort and safety »

I always feel comfortable and safe in the hotel in Vallejo Ca. The parking lot is well lit and there is someone on duty at night. The rooms are well insulated from the noise from other guests and the freeway. The breakfast food is good and well presented. I love that there is a protean selection and not just corroborates.

    « Room Deposit »

We booked our reservation with no problem. Was surprised to hear that we had to put down a cleaning deposit of $100.00 when we checked in. There was nothing in our booking process that said we had to put down a cleaning deposit. I don't recommend any business that back doors charges without notice. Best Western is this a new business practice?

    « SB 50 and Six Flags! »

The location was great and close to Six Flags. The staff was having an off day! The 3 we encountered were not having fun. But the one bright spot was the lady who made waffles for us for breakfast!! (We wish we could have gotten her name). We stayed at the other hotel down the road a month ago and we liked this property a little more for the following reasons. The room was more spacious for a King! They did have continental breakfast which is a plus for us since we have 2 boys and feeding them breakfast before we get to the park is always a good idea. And from the boys perspective the hot tub was open. We will definitely stay here again and hopefully the staff will be more pleasant if not we will go down the road and stay there. And if you have a pet they are welcomed here.

    « SB 50 and Six Flags! »

Location was great! size of the room, the continental breakfast and pool was the highlight of our stay. We had an amazing weekend. We're hoping for a better experience from the staff on our next visit? Otherwise the trip was awesome!

« OK Choice for Vallejo »

Stayed here one night, traveling with wife, to Vallejo for family function. I have stayed here several times before, but not on recent trips. Both my wife and I enjoyed this stay and encountered no problems. Room was in good shape, clean and quiet. Staff was extra friendly and professional. The breakfast room and free breakfast was good, on the level of other national chain motel (Comfort, Quality, Super 8, etc) offerings. I think this is a plus for families with children. Guests appeared to be a mix of families, seniors, and a few traveling laborer/contractor types. The price is competitive with several other motels, located on "car row", off and nearby east of I80. As I was raised in Vallejo, I know the area. This to me is a relatively safe area, but it is still Vallejo! Do Not leave anything in your car over night, either here or on any other community visit. Be travel smart! And again, as this is Vallejo, not exactly a top of the scale spa resort, the Best Western is probably as good as it gets.

    « Great Staff »

The staff there were really good and the rooms comfortable. Hotel looks tired and its location good It was not too far from all things considered the likes of San Francisco, Napa Valley just to name a few

« Decent hotel, great location »

Stayed here with 4 other friends so we could visit 6 flags. The rooms were quite clean and nice, with a plus point that there was a sofa that could pull out a bed as well. There isn't much around the place, but it is within walking distance to 6 Flags discovery Kingdom which is a huge plus point.

Our car window was smashed out at about 8am in the morning, along with another person's car. The owner of the other car walked outside and yelled at the vandals, causing them to run away, otherwise more cars would have no doubt been smashed as well. We stayed here because it is close to 6 Flags Discovery Kingdom ... big mistake. There are signs in the parking lot that state they are not responsible for "damage or theft to vehicles or vehicle contents". Theft and vandalism is clearly a problem in this area. Vallejo is known to have a huge crime problem. When we called to make a police report, the police said there was nothing they could do, and declined to even take a report. I talked to the lady at the front desk, and asked if we could at least have a discount coupon for a future stay, or something to compensate us. She simply directed my attention to the signs in the parking lot. Don't make the same mistake we did. Spend more money or drive farther away, to stay in a hotel that is safer. There is a brand-name hotel in American Canyon that is good, and that is not too far away. Don't stay here. I would also add that the carpets were really dirty, and the hotel was full of other families that were clearly there for 6 Flags. I was fine with the noise-level, because we were also there with our kids, but the carpets need to be cleaned. It was really dirty.

« Best Western Discovery Kingdom »

This is a great place to stay if you are going to Six Flags.. It is right across the street... Clean rooms, great breakfast and beautiful hotel...There were 3 adults in our room and it was very comfortable... Checked in at night so did not use the pool or spa but I would next time!

« Excellent Service and cleanliness »

Highly Recommended, personnel very friendly and helpful, also the hotel is very accessible and close to most of the city attractions. the plus is that the hotel is located across the street from six flags which save me money on the expensive parking of the park.

    « I always stay here »

when visiting family in Napa. In addition to the military discount offered, the rooms are always clean and comfortable, the property is very well maintained, and the staff is very helpful. The breakfast is somewhat different than it used to be -- I miss the sausage!@ - but the eggs are REAL eggs, and the muffins are delicious. There are waffles, juices, yogurt and cereal. You really cannot go wrong at this property

    « Hotel stay »

Totally recommend this hotel to anyone Staff extremely helpful. Deshia is a exceptional employee. Went out of her way to make sure everything was satisfactory. If in vallego again I would definitely stay at Best Western Inn and Suites at Dscovery Kingdom, Vallego

    « Best Western review »

This is a great facility to stay in. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. I would stay in another Best Western facility in the future. There was a good variety of food for breakfast. Bed was very comfortable and the facility was very well kept.

« OKStay. Replacement of Carpets and maintenance of AC/Heating units would help the rating of this facility. »

Front office staff was a excellent service provider. The facility overall appeared clean, other than the carpet , especially first floor was in dire need of repair, as the carpet shown evidence of stretching due to numerous cleaning . Repair or replace AC/Heating units the on/off control did not work. Did not have coffee or breakfast.

    « Good Brand »

It has been a pleasure to stay at this Hotel, I appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms, and how big they are compared to other brands in the area. This is a quiet gem. The staff is friendly and responsive.

    « Great Comfort! »

Very clean and well kept room. Made my business trip very comfortable. Would definitely stay at the Best Western Hotel organization again. Simple, delicious breakfast features. Absolutely nothing bad to say about my stay!

« Front Desk Service Above & Beyond »

Hotel conviently located with daily breakfast and decent coffee. Beds could have been a tad more comfortable but service was beyond amazing. You would think a hotel that offers breakfast near the discovery kingdom would offer hot chocolate as a drink for children. They don't; hopefully they do now or will. Ulysses, the most amazing front desk clerk, i believe spent his own money to get hot chocolate. Who does that? He was always helpful when we had questions or needs. We would definately go back.

    « F.kullmann »

Please do not stay at this hotel... I reserved 2 rooms for 9 nights each in October... My sister and I ( both in our 60's) were traveling by ourselves... I requested the 2 rooms be on the same floor for security reasons . I made the reservations many many months in advance... Needless to say we stayed on different floors for the entire visit... I spoke to 3 different people at the front desk to have issue resolved and encountered nothing but hostile and uncaring staff.. I have stayed at this very hotel many times over the years but will never stay here again.. It's gone way downhill and we definitely did not feel safe here.

    « Discovery Kingdom Oasis »

A motel located close to a major and convenient access to the Discovery Kingdom. I asked for an early check in and although it was not as early as I would have wanted, I was able to check in by 1 pm. The corridor carpers however, were quite worn and dirty.

« Keep your shoes on! »

Felt like I was bothering the check in desk staff. The carpet by the lobby was DISGUSTING so I was shocked at how decent the room was however, I still kept my flip flops or socks on. Pain in the backside to have to walk through the lobby doors when the parking is all in the back. Breakfast was the usual mass produced stuff with scrambled eggs the only "real food" options.

    « Very Clean »

We checked in very late to this hotel needing sleep before a long day of adventures at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom! I was surprised after checking into the hotel after reading other negative reviews. This hotel is very clean and staff is very helpful. Location is very close to Six Flags! They had a full breakfast too! I would highly recommend this hotel to others!

    « Quiet, simple »

I've stayed at this hotel twice both times in November. Perhaps it's just because it's a slow season in that area, both times I got a GREAT sleep. Peace and quiet and a clean room is all I ask. The hotel strikes me as a property that was redone (or built) in the 2000s. The linen and furnishing, wall coverings, etc... are in fair to good condition but beginning it's decline. If you're looking for a simple place to put your head for a good night's sleep, you're fine. If you're choosing this hotel as a vacation hotel, not so much.

« Halloween at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom »

Staff was friendly and shuttle driver went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, however, the hallway carpet on the first floor was quite soiled and I didn't much care for the fact that the hotel used only one entrance/exit.

    « Gross Hotel »

We came to see a play in Vallejo. Next time, we will drive back to San Jose late and sleep at home. The placed was dirty, noisy, unclean, and not relaxing. Smokers outside the front Lobby door, gross carpets in the halls. Stay elsewhere.

    « No....don't bother with this place. »

Booked 3 rooms for my family. All 10 of us did not get a good night rest because the beds were very firm and uncomfortable. This place is in need of a lot of upgrades throughout the whole hotel. Stayed 1 night and would never come back.

    « Not what I expected »

Another don't be fooled by the pictures or name INN. The Hotel is several blocks and a freeway off-ramp intersection away from the hotel. The condition of the hotel was poor to say the least. The furniture and carpet in the room and hallways were dirty. The lobby smelled musty. The breakfast staff were rude and unhelpful. The hotel was full with a cheerleader competition in town and there was only 1 waffle maker on, and the eggs were burnt. The coffee was good though. I would also like to compliment the front desk staff, they were professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

    « Terrible »

We checked into our room and were relaxing when another couple opened our door. The hotel had given another couple keys to our room. we went to the front desk and they said somehow the room had been booked twice. they gave that couple another room. We went to bed and at midnight someone tries opening the door again, good thing we had the latch on. Again the front desk gave keys to another couple and registered them in our room! They did not seem to care of the inconvenience or lack of sleep we received.

    « dishonest fraud »

the man who checked me in tricked me and lied and fraudulently charged me a rate twice what he assured me that he was charging me. I checked with him three times after going on the internet, he assured me that there was one conformation number and that I would pay for just what was signed for... then I was charged twice as much.

    « good »

stayed here many times in the past and really like it very nice staff and clean. many things close to do .Close to San Francisco so we can make doctor appointments on time with out having to stay in the city.

    « convenience and quality »

The hotel was comfortable and very convenient to San Francisco where I had a meeting the next day--the price was half the price of hotels closer or in San Francisco. The bed was very comfortable. Great dinner nearby at the Dead Fish recommended by hotel staff. The single staff person on duty in the morning for check out was trying to handle phone calls, check out, etc. Another staff would have been helpful.

« It was OK - I would not plan a vacation here »

I stayed one night while traveling from San Francisco to Reno. Check in was quick and easy (it was late at night). The room kind of smelled like smoke, although it was a non-smoking room (112). Overall the room itself was just showing wear and tear. The carpet had stains and the bathroom walls had stains. It was alright for just a one night stay, but I would be a bit disappointed if I was staying here for a vacation or for a few days to go to Six Flags or the Vallejo area. The bed was OK. As I went to sleep, I kept asking myself "why didn't I shell out a few more bucks and stay at Hampton Inn?" It is, however, super convenient to Six Flags.

« Six Flags Fright Fest »

When we go to the hotel around 10:30 they had given our room away I had reserved this room several months ago. We stopped and got dinner (Take out) and now we had no where to eat it and it was cold by the time someone helped us. We had to sit around in the lobby for at least an hour waiting for a room (They told they had no available rooms). The children were tired and cranky after the park and it was a very difficult situation.

    « Very Impressed »

This was a great hotel and a great location. We spent a day in Napa and were going to play at Hidden Brooke Golf Course in Vallejo the next for day for my husband's birthday. I was very impressed with the quality of the hotel for the price. We will definitely use this hotel for other trips in that area.

« Don't stay here unless you are at Discovery Kingdom »

The hotel was very full and understaffed. It took a long time to check in @ 2150 hours. The rooms were not well prepared by housekeeping. Ammenities that should have been replenished were not. Desk clerk said housekeeping probably forgot to check. The breakfast was sub-standard from the other Best Weatern Plus hotels that I have stayed. No meat ( bacon or sausage). Eggs were watery. Muffins were stale. It was pretty bare bones. Matresses were quite uncomfortable. The pull out couch was better than the bed. But, the rooms were quiet. Slightly disappointing for a BW Plus. They should be better.

« Close to Six Flags! »

Staff was nice and helpful, room was clean. Nice big clean van to shuttle us to Six Flags. Our room didn't have a microwave or fridge, but they let us use the one in the breakfast lounge. Overall it was a flawless stay, woke up early used the hot tub in the pool area. Carpets could be replaced as they were worn in the lobby and halls

    « Great Place »

The hotel is nice. The room was big and comfortable for 4, but the bed was too hard. The pool and spa were great and the breakfast was good, but VERY busy you couldn't even sit down to eat! If you're going to Six Flags, this hotel is not even 5 minutes from the park!

    « Average Stay »

The room was average. Negatives, chairs had stains, hall room carper very dirty, offered an early check in, but we were put in a different room then we reserved without asking, queen instead of king. Positive, it was close to Discovery Kingdom, offered a shuttle service, hot breakfast, pool and hot tub were clean, staff was friendly.
