"A nice place to stay in Turin."
gabriel m, 31 Août 2023

Positive: - Spacious and clean bedroom - Very close to the city center and train station. - Well assorted breakfast - It's an old building, but you don't notice in the bedroom. Negative: - The fridge doesn't work very well. - We are sensitive to morning light and the curtains don't work. - There are two old elevators, and sadly, only one worked during our stay. You can imagine.

"A gem of a hotel in Torino"
morocco_traveller, 26 Mai 2023

The hotel is very conveniently, located to the main train station. It's only one block away. This is truly a hidden gem in Torino. The staff was excellent, the room was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was larger than normal, and the breakfast exceeded expectations, in the variety and quality of food offered. I can't recommend this hotel enough. I stayed two days and enjoyed both of them in every way. The hotel staff was accommodating and helpful in providing recommendations about what to see and about how to get to various locations. A great stay!

"Good and Convenient "
anonofbiggs, 02 Avril 2023

This was good for a one night stop and especially convenient for the Porto Nuovo Station which is why we had chosen it. The rooms was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. Breakfast quite acceptable. The staff were helpful and directed us to a suitable eating spot, and it was very close to where we picked up a walking tour, and we could leave our luggage there, before heading off on the train to Florence. We would certainly return next time we find ourselves in Turin.

"Centrally located"
Asrul S, 08 Février 2023

Stayed here for almost a week during the winter and the heater really helps. The check in and check out process was smooth although the staff is not fluent in English. The internet connectivity was consistent throughout my stay. I got best room with balcony view to puorto nuova station - compared to my colleagues who got the run down room. The breakfast served was nice.

"Reasonable price, clean room."
PaulNotts67, 07 Juillet 2022

Was booked with work. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom pretty good. It is just a very tired hotel that really needs some money spent and updating. If you choose to stay it won't be a bad experience - but also won't be amazing.

"Heritage hotel in a Great Location"
traveltalesofales, 04 Juillet 2022

Housed in a heritage building, this is a unique Best western that feels more like a classic European hotel than a chain hotel. Given the location and the surprising set of amenities the heritage hotel came with at the price I paid, it is a an absolute steal! LOCATION: Excellent location right next to the main train station adn and walkable from all key points of interest. DINE + DRINK: Nice lobby level bar for a chilled out evening drink or later afternoon coffee ROOM: I stayed in Room 222 which was a FAMILY room, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Sweet view of the street and buildings from the BALCONY ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Good cosmetics by DOVE brand FACILITIES: Excellent Gym with a full range of weights and Cardio machines - something that is uncommon in a old world hotel like this. No pool on site. SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to the front desk staff HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property(upto 25 Mbps). Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages

"Convenient"
rak2023, 05 Mars 2022

Nice hotel with nice rooms and staff. Really enjoyed chatting with the hotel staff and really loved Turin. The hotel is very close to lot of cafes and restaurants. The hotel had all the amenities I needed to make the stay here so comfortable!

"Overpriced and overrated!"
Melissa W, 23 Octobre 2021

Deceived! Hotel room is small and 80s. Noise from the street and hotel corridor. One of the elevators doesn't feel safe because the floor is flimsy. No breakfast included. Hard to find public parking and private parkings were full on friday night. Central location and clean. Had to buy earplugs.

"Awsome hotel downtown Turin"
Explorer779593, 06 Août 2021

Splendid Hotel near the Porta Nuova train station. Friendly staff, Beautiful Breakfast. Very easily access 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Carlo and 10 minutes walk from Piazza Castello. We had a room facing the courtyard, very quiet. The room was big and the bathroom was clean. Perfect air conditioning and WiFi. I think it should be more than a 3-star hotel.

"A nice place to stay "
TanvirAhmad, 28 Février 2020

A nice place clean rooms cooperative front desk staff delicious breakfast easy to find & access rates reasonable clean location taxis available railway station at few steps with lots of shops cafes restaurants recommended

"A charm hotel in a perfect location"
traveller01612, 08 Février 2020

This is a beautifully decorated hotel near the railway station. It is a short walk to the city center. Breakfast is very good for just 4 euros. The triple room is very comfortable. The room is silent.

"Great mattresses, good sleep at a good hotel"
emma1913, 21 Novembre 2019

For me, a firm mattress makes for a good night's sleep and a good next day. The Genio had good mattresses, the room was large, we had a bathroom with a tub and I loved the fact that the hotel still had some character and hadn't been made over to look like every other hotel everywhere. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was good. Location is convenient to central Turin sights.

"One day in torino"
yazansalameh2019, 15 Novembre 2019

Clean and good location, nothing to complain about, would come back again, good value for money and the breakfast was just fine, check in and check out was fast and easy, it looked old from outside but rooms are renovated

"Good Location, Room in need of care"
Maddison65, 05 Novembre 2019

Just the one night in a single room here on level 2. My friend and I arrived late morning so were pleasantly surprised to be able to get rooms allocated. However, although large for a single room, as you entered you were met with a distinctive smell, couldn't quite work it out, but maybe a bit like smoked food that you noticed each time you entered. The bed was firm comfortable but the sheet was ripped under the pillow, the bedding poorly made up and the furnishings all very dated. In addition the toilet seat fixing was broken so appeared in danger of fully detaching. The aircon also seemed to just make a noise rather than push cold air. I therefore had to open the ‘terrace' door to cool the room down and be able to sleep. On the plus side the water pressure was decent and there were lots of TV channels. The terrace area was a little weird as appeared part of an internal apartment complex. WiFi quality was variable. Other positives were the friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, the cheap but tasty breakfast buffet range and, of course, the hotel's ideal location to explore the city, probably a 15 minute walk to the Piazza Castillo with a range of shopping and sights en route. The hotel's common areas were also reasonably comfortable and well maintained, so perhaps it's only the single rooms on level 2 that are in need of some TLC?

"Good choice in Turin"
Gemma M, 02 Novembre 2019

Great location close to stazione Porta Nuova and to the important landmarks. The underground is just steps away from the hotel. We had a family room, it was very large, quiet, comfortable and clean. Breakfast is excellent. Syaff friendly and helpful.

"Functional "
Lobsterlover99, 19 Octobre 2019

The hotel is extremely close to the railway station which is why we chose it, right across the street. Reception staff were friendly and our room was very functional. The only small annoyance is there is no room safe so valuables and passports etc were carried around with us. Nice shower and otherwise all amenities you could want. A good selection of restaurants a stones throw away. Would stay here again

"Travelor be warned - stay somewhere else!"
chimaiden, 24 Septembre 2019

This hotel was an extreme disappointment, so much so that we left without spending the night. The only positive thing I can find to say about this place is that the room was clean and it is steps from Porto Nuovo. As you approach the hotel, letters of the neon sign are burnt out which is your first sign of lack of welcome. Our "suite" consisted of plastic furniture, a couch firm as a board on a slant from end to end, deafening rattle from the AC, and a staircase up to our bed on a separate platform, which would require a trip down steep stairs to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The desk staff said that maybe they would be able to rectify the situation and find us another room the next day but we were not willing to wait. We found a room at the Turin Palace Hotel on the opposite side of Porto Nuovo where we enjoyed a fabulous, comfortable stay in Turin for 185 euros a night vs. the 195 we would be charged at the Best Western Genio! I will add that I am a well-seasoned travelor who has stayed at 3 star hotels around the world and never before was presented with accommodations of such poor quality.

"Small hotel with wonderful rooms and breakfast"
beverleyyy, 08 Septembre 2019

I booked this hotel via the organizers of the conference I was attending in Turin due to the affordable pricing. I was really impressed by the breakfast (the ham, bacon and eggs were wonderful, but the selection of tarts, cakes and pastries was even better) and the rooms and how nothing was too much for the staff to take care of. The hotel's location is also very convenient with Porto Nuova just opposite and the major tourist stops only a short walk away, and the ambience is great - quiet and cozy.

"A hotel with convenience location"
vickycen, 12 Août 2019

Convenience location to major sightseeing spots and train station by walk. The size of room is good and very clean. It is easy to find good restaurants nearby. I definitely book the hotel again if I visit Turin in future.

"Near station and city centre"
Rudi91, 11 Août 2019

Very well situated, just 15 minutes on foot away from the centre and the famous Egyptian museum. They also offer parking facilities very near by for 22€ per night. Very spacy room ( we had a superior room) at an affordable price and above all an excellent breakfast thanks to the fact that they serve you high quality food, whether you go for a light, sweet Italian like breakfast or a more heavy with excellent bacon and scrambled eggs. Only negative point is the old and slow elevators, who need an overhaul. For the rest more than OK.

"A lovely hotel"
jakc1502, 10 Août 2019

Excellent location central to the city, next to the Porta Nuova train station making the hotel super accessible. I stayed in a single room as I was travelling alone but the room was very nice I must say. Décor was a bit dated I feel but nevertheless very nice and comfortable. It was clean, good facilities provided, a/c in the room, fridge (which is key when visiting when its hot outside). The bathroom was very spacious however I felt that the shower cubicle itself was compact and im not a big person. I would also note that the a/c unit itself was loud when turned on, it may be worth encasing the unit to reduce the noise. The hotel also has a spa (which was unavailable during my visit) and a gym which is ideal if you want a quick workout. I also decided to have breakfast there which was really nice, simple, good range of food and drink. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Torino, mainly for its excellent location but it is well priced and I really enjoyed my stay.

"Disappointing!!"
myrmic, 09 Juin 2019

The location of the hotel is excellent, the staff were friendly and above all the breakfast was very good. I was disappointed with the room, the furniture, the lack of shampoo, etc, only soap was provided. The room looked different from the online pictures. The tea/coffee facilities in the room were spoiled by the plastic cups provided!!! The facade is presently covered with scaffolding as works are going on so this was another inconvenience. Air-condition was not available during the first 2 nights because according to the receptionist the weather was still quite cool the previous days. The temperature was around 29C and it was quite hot at night. Two out of the three nights we could not use the A/C because it was switched off. Why is the room advertised with AC? I feel that we didn't get value for the money we paid! I am very disappointed with Best Western this time! I'll definitely visit this beautiful city again but would not stay in the same hotel.

"Not the best sleeping experience"
wowmor, 04 Juin 2019

I do not like it when hotels gain stars by pretending they have a spa. Unless the sleeping is good everything else is academic. Here the bed was small and air conditioning was designed to produce sound, not air. The location is good, though

"Great location and friendly helpful staff"
Holidaydad55, 30 Avril 2019

The hotel is next to the main railway station and the airport bus stops within 100 metres, so the hotel is easy to access. Check in was easy and breakfast was offered at 4euros. This was the best buy ever. The breakfast was large and of good quality. Well worth the money. The rooms were a nice size with comfortable beds and a decent sized bathroom. Within the immediate area there is a number of restaurants and it is an easy walk to see the sights. Would stay here again when in Turin.

"Excellent Location"
mizunoman, 01 Avril 2019

Having never visited Torino before, we needed a hotel that was convenient to the Porta Nuova train station, restaurants, the Egyptian Museum and the Teatro Colosseo . We took the train from Rome, so this hotel had the perfect location. It was less than a 5 minute walk to the station. Everything else we needed was within an easy walk. The rooms were a nice size (by European standards) and very clean. We are not huge breakfast folks, but there was a nice selection of foods. Be sure to buy the breakfast at the hotel desk the night before... it is much cheaper. For the price, this is a great choice... The bed was very comfortable... We even had a balcony...

"Perfect!"
auntiesituation, 24 Mars 2019

Location is perfect. Breakfast and the staff is perfect. Service perfect. Rooms just right, dated but clean. Quiet room (not on the street side). Frontdesk perfect. Wifi perfect. Just book it you will be fine:-)

"Nice hotel in general - lack of comfort regarding bed and WiFi at least in my room"
Optimus-GER, 19 Mars 2019

The Genio is an older hotel with certainly a lot of history behind it. Its location near Porta Nuova is very convenient. I had a very large room (#234) with about 4 m high ceiling. However, the bed was quite uncomfortable for me as the mattress was very hard - too hard for the average guest I would think. Another colleague said the same. I felt it in my back every morning. Not compatible for sleeping on the side. Unfortunately the WiFi signal in my room was very weak - very low available bandwidth as well as frequent connection dropouts. Webpages would sometimes not open or take ages. Watching movies or streaming not possible. It was hard for me to work under these conditions so this is certainly another point to improve. Another detail: plastics cups for tea and instant coffee in the room are a no-go for me. Room was quiet as it was facing the inner courtyard (no traffic noise). Not much to hear from guests next to me but the ceiling seemed to be somewhat clairaudient (frequent noise from moving chairs around or so). The veranda connected to my room was not taken care of very well and looked a little bit like an abandoned place. The breakfast in the hotel was good with quite some variety of food. I just did not like the scambled eggs - too soft and squishy for me. A bit more fresh fruit would be nice, too. Overall it was a good stay at reduced comfort regarding bed and WiFi for me (3 out of 5). Maybe the hotel can use my feedback to improve for future guests.

"Quick visit en route to ski slopes"
cluverd, 04 Mars 2019

Great hotel in convenient location close to Porta Nuova station. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. My room was comfortable and spotlessly clean and it was also very quiet so I slept well. Highly recommended!

"Perfect location downtown"
Philippe L L, 08 Janvier 2019

Very good hotel located next to the main railway station and really close to the center (museums, San Carlos square, shopping streets, ...). By public transportation, really easy to get to all sights (Cinema museum and Via Po by bus (61), Piazza Castello or Flea Market (Balon) by tram, Lingotto by Metro). Easy to reach the international buses station, Flixbus (five stops by tram), Our room was large with a perfectly equipped bathroom. Breakfast was very good (excellent value). Close to Cafe Platti on foot.

"Good hotel , ok location"
MastG, 24 Septembre 2018

Best western hotel near to porta nouva train station. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Ok size rooms Lift feel as if floor is about to give way! Missed breakfast but the price quoted seemed cheap. Hop on hop bus stops opposite which is handy.

"Nice town hotel close to city and att4actions. Excellent price performance ratio"
KKL2, 16 Septembre 2018

Small 3 star hotel very close to city. Car park nearby, 22 Euro per day. Rooms to the back are preferred. Our standard room was room 238, nice and spacious, large bathroom. The receptionist gave a a good recommendation for a nearby restaurant, de Filiippis. A perfect little hotel with an excellent price to perfomarmance ratio, given the importance and attractiveness of Torino. Good breakfasr and attentive service.

"Excellent breakfast, friendly service, and beautiful rooms"
lds35, 18 Juillet 2018

This was our first trip to Torino and a short stay for part of a vacation. The city was very stressful to drive and park in, but the hotel was a wonderful oasis. Excellent breakfast for the price and the staff were lovely. Clean and comfortable, spacious rooms, with a great little gym. Would definitely stay here again!

"Excellent"
Alan M, 10 Juin 2018

Excellent location next to station and local transport. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Rooms well appointed and very clean. Would definitely stay here again. Priced very reasonably when booked in advance.

"The excellent location of an Italian-style hotel"
agauthierj, 28 Avril 2018

Hotel Genio belongs to chained-brand hotels Best Western that maintains a family-style touch. Price is correct, location is excellent along the emblematic Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Standing in the South border to the historic center, it gives good access to the beautiful Turin city. On the South, the quite side is a walk from the park on the Po river. Buffet breakfast in served a simple room, frequented by Italians. Rooms are clean and correct.

"Good option for staying in Turin"
Marusia81, 18 Décembre 2017

We stayed only one night at Genio hotel, but I quite liked it. The location is great if you arrive in town by train at the Porta Nuova station - the hotel is just about 1-2 min walk from it, literally the next building. The room was also fine: it was a standard one but had everything you need for a short stay. We didn't experience any problems with the noise from outside, but maybe we were just lucky and there were not so many people in the rooms next to us. The breakfast is rather standard but again, you have everything (or almost everything) you need. I would say that for a short stay this hotel is a very good option.

"Great location and terrific bargain."
PWR_DE, 03 Décembre 2017

I booked two rooms for my wife and I and our adult daughter for 2 nights in late October. We intended this to be a base from which to enjoy truffle season but were blown away by the hotel. The rooms were enormous and very comfortable. Our daughter's room appeared to have been more recently renovated but both rooms had all the conveniences. We were on an upper floor looking onto the train station. There was significant road noise for those who are sensitive to that. We spent half a day touring Turin and everything we wanted to do was within easy walking distance. We took the train to Alba for a day and enjoyed the truffle fest. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was excellent, and the price was unbeatable.

"Nice stay in great location in Turin"
rockwood13, 17 Novembre 2017

After taking a train to Turin and arriving at the Porta Susa train station we took a short taxi ride to reach the Best Western Hotel Genio. It is also located right across the street from the Porta Nuova train station where we took a train to Florence after our stay in Turin. The staff at this hotel were very helpful and understood and spoke English well which helped with the questions we had for them. We stayed in a triple room, and actually chose this room as it was one of the few hotels we found in Turin near the train station which offered triple rooms. Our room was very nice. It had a high ceiling and a bathroom with the shower and toilette in the same room and two sinks. We also had a private veranda off our room that allowed us to go out into the middle of the hotel overlooking a courtyard. When we originally booked this hotel our reservations did not include breakfast. At check in we were offered a breakfast rate of four Euros per person per day. We accepted this offer and were glad that we did as the breakfast provided was more than ample for us and much more convenient than going out to a restaurant and paying more for less. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, biscuits, coffee, tea, pastries, cereal, and hot chocolate and there were plenty of tables in the breakfast area to accommodate the diners. For security reasons the hotel requests that you leave your key at the front desk when you go out from the hotel. This hotel is well situated to restaurants and shopping which can be found on several streets across from and in front of the hotel. The Porta Nuova train station also has many shops and some restaurants. Across from the train station in a small park you can also find the starting point of a free tour on the history of Turin. My wife and I strongly recommend this tour if you can fit it into your itinerary. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and presented the tour in English. A brochure about this tour was found in the hotel lobby. To make your stay more pleasant and to not hear noise from the street it would be wise to request a room facing the interior of the hotel. We experience a quiet stay here in our room. My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much and would visit again if we return to Turin.

"CLEAN, comfortable, location was great!"
flosser, 03 Novembre 2017

Three adults stayed in one room. I searched for a room in Turin without a pull out bed and was surprised to see a pull out in our assignment. It turned out ok because it was a very sturdy pull out with out the middle bar and premade with quality sheets, etc. I was glad we stayed here the room was extra large. The wood floors were extra clean, the water pressure was great with big soft towels and a modern shower. The front desk was very friendly and able to speak English. The Breakfast was a nice presentation of salami, cheeses, yogurts, fruits and croissant choices in a comfortable area that was well staffed. The walk to the Ti and central square was only 15 min. but even more ideal, the "Hop-on, Hop-off" bus had a stop (#7) just across the street. Two negatives: the street is loud at night so we needed to keep the windows shut (room 431) and the parking was a little inconvenient, down the street in a public garage.

"Nothing special"
Fear E, 20 Octobre 2017

Hotel seems to be nice for one or two days stay. No parking at hotel... oldfashioned rooms. They will not amaze you. Service nice and helpfull. Breakefast poor, but coffe nice. Hotel is located really close to city center.

"Top"
Laura Z, 05 Octobre 2017

Great staff, amazing rooms great amenities. Felt really spoiled. Would recommend!!!! I would definitely come back! Great location and super comfy bed! Great breakfast. It's a wonderful place to stay solo and together

"Excellent value, location and friendliness"
tassiestourers, 11 Août 2017

This hotel suited our needs excellently for a 4 night stay. Right by the station with plenty to see and do. A 10 minute walk to the centre. Staff were excellent, especially Clinton who was particularly friendly and heloful

"Well located, large modern rooms, good value."
josemariad29, 08 Août 2017

We were back and very pleased again. The hotel is very conviniently located . Rooms large, modern and clean. Breakfast generous. Staff is nice and helpful. The Genio hotel is very near the newly renovated train station and the city center which means you don't need a car if you come by train. .

"A great hotel near the Porta Nova railways station"
laureenofscotts, 06 Août 2017

From outside it looks not too good, but once you are inside you will change your mind! Well decorated this hotel is historic and date from 800 with a very friendly and smiling staff you will find large rooms with large bathrooms, a TV (most programs are with SKY!), a small bar and a kettle for coffee or tea. A lot of rooms are looking at the interior garden so no noise of the busy "Corso Victorio Emanuele II".

"Genio"
MatellSte, 11 Juillet 2017

Stayed here for a few nights a while back it has a 24 hour desk the room was quiet and clean and it is near the train station staff were pleasant and helpful safety deposit boxes next to reception and it is close to Via Roma

"Room was just WOW"
PineappleSkip, 10 Juillet 2017

We checked into this hotel, expecting not much other than convenience to Porta Nuova station, which is right across the road. The building is one of those fine colonnaded ones of which there are many in Turin. The foyer and checkin were pleasant but unexceptional. Then we opened the door to our room, expecting three star basic for our internet special price. When you are a road warrior, staying in hotels constantly, it takes a lot to impress. WOW! We had stepped into another world, high ceilings, acres of space, vast ceiling to floor curtains on the windows and the bed, two comfortable armchairs, and two more upholstered chairs for the room service table. A spacious bathroom that reeked of luxury. No view (we'd requested a quiet room, and got one that opened onto the internal courtyard), but our own little terrace outside. We've stayed in 'five star' hotel rooms that weren't as pleasant as this. The free wifi was fine, and breakfast was a generous continental breakfast with a couple of hot dishes thrown in. The location was also perfect for wandering Turin's charming centre, with Piazza San Carlo less than 10 minute walk away. We didn't try the bar here, but there was a cappuccino machine. There are dozens of restaurants nearby. For good Piedmontese food we'd suggest Il Bistrot della Bottega del Gusto, a couple of blocks away. And for fine accommodation, we thoroughly endorse the Hotel Genio of course.

"Great breakfast and great location"
Kristy M, 18 Juin 2017

Our room was large and clean and precisely as described. The breakfast was delightful. There was a large spread of hot and cold items, very tasty eggs, fresh fruit, a nice assortment of yogurt. We were pleased about our stay. Fantastically close to the Porta Nuova station and Turin attractions like the Museo Egizio.

"Old world charm"
AtticusPenfold, 10 Juin 2017

We stayed two nights in this hotel. We had booked a superior room and were pleased with the spaciousness and comfort. The furnishings were in good taste and everything was spotlessly clean. The shower was one of the best we have experienced in Italy. The room had its own large terrace. The staff were efficient and polite.

"Good night"
Emily W, 11 Mai 2017

It is just opposite the train station but beware on the other side of the train station there is another hotel of similar name, Best Western Genova. Check in was fast. The lift was small and slow but at least there is one. The room was well equipped and clean. Bed was comfortable. TV has English channels. Breakfast was good. Wifi was good. The heater was too hot even though I adjusted to a temperature I liked. Otherwise nothing else.

"Hotel full of nostalgia"
fionalennon25, 26 Avril 2017

Checked in here for 2 nights . Staff so hospitable and friendly . Excellent location and service all around. Savour the buffet breakfast . It was delicious .Loved the old style and ambiance of this hotel.

"Nice place, good location"
NLcycle, 09 Avril 2017

This hotel is conveniently located in the city center, close to the station. That's usually in big cities not such a recommendation, but in this case, it is great. The area is nice with lots of bars and restaurants. The staff of the hotel was very friendly, room was nice. The breakfast buffet was good, with lots of choice. The hotel has bicycles for rent, which is a perfect way to discover the city.

"Very convenient hotel, excellent value"
drewyatt, 26 Mars 2017

My friend and I stayed in the hotel for three nights in two single rooms. The hotel is very well located next to Puerto Neuva station. The staff were friendly and helpful and our rooms although a bit dated decorwise represented great value. Comfortable beds and a good showe. Breakfast was varied and plentiful.

"Right place, right spot. "
ConVivo, 18 Mars 2017

First, pay for the superior room. It's more, but it's more space, more quiet, and a better experience. Checking was flawless and the staff had been accommodating for the entire time. The room is nice and we even have a 40 square foot private patio. The breakfast buffet ($4 per person) is well worth it. Real scrambled eggs and more. The hotel is less than .75 mikes from almost any museum, palazzo, or theatre. You are right across the street from the train station, but it's quiet. I've stayed in accommodations around the world and the Hotel Genio Torino is at the top of my list.

"Very helpful staff and great location in the very center of Turin"
David B, 23 Février 2017

This hotel is at the very heart of Turin. It is at a walking distance from the Main Station of Porta Nuova, metro and all the museums and restaurants. The hotel is going through some renovation and that should be a good sign meaning that the rooms will be modernized in the near future so do not be put off.The reception staff will surely be helpful in giving you a good room. In fact we were given a great room with a good view on the main street. We had also a small kettle with tea and coffee for free in the room, Sky T.V. and the WiFi was working great and to top it all a great breakfast with a good variety of food. There are also two computers and printer close to the lobby for those who need to print. I wish to say thanks to Salvatore, Mary and all the other staff at the reception desk and the guy at the bar for their service, kindness and patience. Will definitely suggest this hotel both for a short or long stay. Thanks guys and keep up the good work.

"Classic old fashioned friendly hotel"

Location couldnt be better close to station. Staff lovely friendly and jokingly multilingual. Basic but perfectly satisfactory room. Nice shower. Solid middle of the road buffet breakfast. Great value for money. We will certainly go back

"Average / Good hotel for a 4 night business trip in central Turin"
Ummar69, 07 Novembre 2016

Check-In - Got caught behind a large group so a little slow, but really put off by the rude and surly behaviour of the female staff member who dismissed me because i wasn't part of the group. Was rescued by her colleague, who was helpful and checked me in quickly. Room - Upgrade request honoured from a standard room to a fantastic top floor corner room, room 440, which was surprising and really appreciated, great views from 2 balconies.... main road so noise to be expected! Comfy four-poster bed was great! Bathroom was a little tired but more than made up for with a bidet and great hot water/shower pressure....BUT ....Wi-Fi was non-existent, at best it was really really poor in room and at times in lobby!!! Had massive Wi-Fi problems, which may have been due to the nature of my extreme room on the top floor, further away in the corner of the building. But then I tried the lobby and common areas and had much the same issue! My room was very good, I suspect others would be just average. Location, convenient, easily walkable to most places ... some decent eateries nearby Generally a decent place ... good nights sleep, and very convenient; Worst point of it was the non-existent/erratic WIFI and the staff's surly attitude and behaviour, and lack of common customer service. In particular was embarrassed by the hotel staff when they shouted after a business guest of mine to demand their ID before passing past reception. Not discreet or polite! Points of improvement: significant staff training; offer parking at an affordable rate; complimentary water; room safe; further English speaking TV channels Given the choice, I would not go back, rather I would choose a hotel where the staff are trained better and can smile!

"Great location, friendly helpful staff"
Mike S, 11 Octobre 2016

This hotel is in a good location next to the train station - very convenient if you arrive in Turin by train as we did. The hotel is old style but the staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but they gave us a coffee while they got it ready - a nice touch. Our room had a balcony on the side street and was quite quiet but there is only heating - no air-conditioning - so it was good the windows and shutters opened. Breakfast was the usual buffet style as you would expect in such a hotel. They have a spa and a sauna in the hotel and a good Japanese restaurant next door.

"Centrally located"
Gorg0, 17 Septembre 2016

Located two blocks away from the bus to the airport and many other hotels, this hotel is next to Porta Nuova station. The room may not be too spacious but it has a balcony and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is large and narrow, with some particularities: the WC has a stopcock-like to put the water in (a bit difficult to close, as water can still be heard with the bathroom's door closed) and the shower has an odd hot/cold water regulator. The bathroom window seems made out of wood, as noise could be heard from the street even if closed. Bathroom toiletries were fine (e.g., soap/gel/shampoo, plastic vases). Internet connection available at the room and breakfast place, with fine speed and stable. The breakfast has a reduced selection, consisting of pastries, bread, cold meat, couple of hot dishes and beverages, mostly; but it lacks others such as chocolate, cocoa or tomatoes. Personnel at the lobby desk usually attend fast, though some awkward situations may arise if coming back to the hotel at late hours (apparently one is required to leave the key after getting out of the hotel) or if directly going to the breakfast room (there is not a person taking your room number and personnel at lobby desk may intercept you and request your room number to double check you have paid for breakfast).

"Central location, great breakfast, good value"
Mikeeatsfood, 06 Septembre 2016

I stayed at Hotel Genio for three nights the first weekend of September on a short trip to Turin. The location was right next to the Porta Nuova train station in the city center, perfect for sightseeing. I stayed in a single room which was surprisingly spacious and included a TV with satellite channels (including some in English), an electric kettle with instant coffee and tea, a balcony facing a courtyard, and a spacious bathroom with bidet and shower. The decor was obviously dated and the lighting a bit dim, but they seemed to be remodeling some of the rooms while I was there. The bed was comfortable but not especially so. The room and the hotel in general were very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was four euro per day and was a great value considering the abundance and quality of meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, fruits, yogurts, coffee, etc. There was also free coffee and small croissants in the lobby throughout the day. I had a good experience at Hotel Genio and it was a decent value and reliable choice for a solo traveler. I would stay there again.

"Nice hotel, great location "
Amy J, 26 Août 2016

Staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly, my room was large, clean and comfortable with everything I needed. I could see efforts had been made to modernise the room without completely redecorating and this worked well, other areas of the hotel would appreciate this attention also.

"Good Value, Large Room"
Asta365, 15 Juillet 2016

The hotel provided us with an excellent base for exploring downtown Turin. It is an easy walk from the hotel to the central city. Our room was very large with two twin beds, high ceilings, a large bathroom, good quality towels, and the usual hot water kettle and a selection of teas. Decor was tasteful and a step up from what is usually found at this price point. TV and WIFI both worked well. Breakfast was adequate but not anything special - ensure you request breakfast in advance as the price differential is €4 v. €12. There are many TA recommended restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Finally, staying on a weekend, we found reasonably close street parking and fed the meter for the first evening and"work day" of Saturday, a savings over the hotel charge.

"Hotel Genio - centrally located for getting to know Torino"
AngeloDaNewYork, 07 Juillet 2016

I have been staying at the Hotel Genio now at least once or twice a year for over 10 years. This is a great place for both tourists and business travelers. it has become like a home away from home for me and my wife. Great professional and friendly service. Clean comfortable and quiet rooms. This hotel has both old world charm but also modern facilities and rooms. Just let them know your preference. I really enjoy the buffet breakfast as it offers pastries, croissants (cornetti), Italian cold cuts, eggs, cappuccino and espresso plus much more. As far as the location your are minutes walk from all the sites, like Piazza Castello, Via Po, the old city center of Torino, Castello Madame and much more. You can usually find me walking along Via La Grange checking out the cafes, restaurants and shops. Be sure to visit the Egyptian museum. On the other end take the 15 Tram (please check I got the number right) for a classic tram ride all the way to the Cremaliera. This is where a 100 year old cog train takes you to the top of a hill to the Cathedral of Superga. Not only do you get to visit the church, catacombs and the memorial to the Torino soccer team which lost their lives in 1948 when their plane crashed in the fog but you get a view of all of Turin, the Po river and the Alps. A mixture of beauty and a bit of sadness. I could mention more but the staff at the hotel can give your great suggestions...

"Nice hotel well placed"
Hungry-Lobsters, 18 Mai 2016

We booked a double room for 2 adults plus an extra bed for a young kid. We received a very modern room, with 2 balconies, 1 very big double bed and quiet big sofa bed! There was enough space to walk around even with the sofa bed opened. The bathroom was also very big. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. The room is not very well soundproofed, therefore over the week end you can hear a bit of noisy from outside. However we slept very well!!

"Very pleasant hotel centrally located"
Ange2909, 17 Mai 2016

We had a good sized twin room with large en-suite; tea & coffee facility provided, great breakfast. Desk staff very helpful with directions. Location allows possibility of walking the city sights. Would stay again on another city break.

"Lovely clean hotel. Helpful staff."
sharonwhitmore, 07 Mai 2016

We stayed here for a few days, the room was clean and spacious. The staff on the desk were really helpful, they went out of their way to let us use the phones, often calling numbers themselves, as our Italian was bad, when AA lost our luggage. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Turin. Breakfast was also, very good, with fresh food and good service.

"Noisy hotel with good breakfast"
mnc t, 27 Février 2016

somewhere outdated hotel in a cycle of renovation. Probably good for tourism, not for business. Airconditioning was very poor and noisy. View from the window was on the inner court, but looked more like a storage area.

"Pleasant for a weekend stay"
Elisa M, 31 Janvier 2016

I found this hotel to be very reasonable for budget travel! Prices are consistently very reasonable and the location is excellent; a great hotel for a weekend travel. Rooms are good: We stayed at a recently renovated room in the fourth floor. The room was good in terms of having a new bed, (yes, I checked), clean bedding, bathroom, etc. There is also a nice mini fridge, which was nice to chill our bottle of wine. The only issue that we ran into was having staff coming into our room despite leaving the “do not disturb” sign on. Despite that issue, all of our stuff was nicely arranged and our room cleaned; we left some money out and we found every penny, (so the staff can be trusted). Service: The service was great, very friendly staff. Moreover, the staff kindly opened our bottle of wine. The morning staff was also excellent at telling us everything that was a must to visit and good restaurants to go to. Breakfast: This was probably one of the highest selling points for us. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. The breakfast was plentiful. There was coffee, juices, meats, excellent croissants, eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruits, cereals, etc. Although the breakfast is plentiful, sometimes they take some time to restock the hot food with freshly made eggs and bacon, so if you're too late to breakfast, you may have to wait a bit to get some items. Beware of Parking: As with many of the hotels around the area, parking can be stressful. My partner and I traveled by car, and since the parking in front of the hotel is free after certain hours, we found it reasonable to park there. Nevertheless, we arrived on a Friday night when many people go out, the following day we found the back window wiper to be broken. Fortunately, the hotel does offer some parking arrangement a few blocks away for a fee; we found this to be convenient for our stay. Disclosures: be prepared for a funny ride in the hotel's elevators. Once you step in, you will see what I mean. And also, keep in mind that you will need to knock on the lobby door for late night entry – do not worry, the area felt quite safe on a Friday night.

"The Location of Hotel cannot be better."
BajadaS, 28 Janvier 2016

I was in Turin for my second visit, both on holiday. This time I stayed in Hotel Genio. Very good choice. Nice and clean, room was also very clean and very quite, although hotel is next to train station. Breakfast was excellent and reception friendly and helpful. The main attractions of the City are very near, shopping and restaurants nearby. What do you expect more for a relaxing holiday during New Years' Eve celebrations?

"Fabulous historic hotel"
munster4ever, 24 Janvier 2016

we loved this hotel.it is a very historic hotel. Is extremely well cared for. We found our rooms to be tidy clean And everything that we needed. the breakfast was pure quality not least in the crockery that was used but also the quality of the food on offer which we found to be generous. the location of the hotel is excellent. It is right across the road from the main railway station. I found the gym to be very good. The Wi-Fi was excellent. We really enjoyed the hot tub and spa and they're both impeccably clean a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. we found the staff at the hotel to be very friendly and decent people and I would recommend this hotel to anybody

"Short Holiday"
620GeorgeM, 23 Décembre 2015

My wife and I spent 5 days here in Turin, on arrival at the hotel there was a slight mix-up over our room, the reception staff dealt with the problem very efficiently and into the bargain upgraded us. The room we got was excellent. It had a bath and a Jacuzzi and was on the first floor, situated towards the side of the hotel it was very quiet. It was a large and airy room. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel was superbly located for easy access to the station. The main part of the city was just across the road from the hotel and the first impression we had was of a lovely clean city. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, all staff were friendly and gave sound advice on places of interest.

"great location"
AWATS, 02 Décembre 2015

Our next to last night on a business trip was spent in Turin. We picked this hotel based its location and the surrounding activities. the rooms were nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. plenty of things to do with most within walking distance. beautiful city and a great stay at the hotel.

"Great Location"
Elizabeth E, 30 Novembre 2015

I was tempted to give this hotel 5 out of 5, the room was clean and also good breakfast. The reception were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hotel is easily accessible. Close to shopping and restaurants. The only let down was wifi access. But I would still recommend this hotel to others

"Hotel Genio is Fabulous"
Lisa C, 30 Novembre 2015

This past July I visited Torino, Italy for the first time after being invited to speak on an Epicurean panel. I stayed two nights at Hotel Genio and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel representatives behind the counter were friendly and accommodating. The room itself was clean and huge! I even had a balcony! The bed was also comfortable and huge. A flat screen TV was attached to the wall. There were many aspects I loved about this hotel including the location. It was very easy to walk to other places in Torino or take a quick taxi that did not cost many Euros. During my first evening there I checked in late and was starving! I asked the hotel clerk if he could recommend any restaurants that were good and still open. He suggested Daustin (not the most Italian name) but it was delicious and only two blocks away from the hotel. I look forward to visiting Torino again and would stay here again!!

"Perfect situation, good breakfast, nice sleep!"
gallach78, 14 Octobre 2015

We have stayed with two friends to explore the city of Turin (triple room with three single beds, one was a sofa but it was really comfortable). The bathroom was huge and the shower was perfect. It has a spa area, although we didn't use it. The Egipt Museum is only 5 minuts far on foot, there are good restaurants in the area, nice atmosphere and all the attractions are near (on foot, you do not need to catch any transport public if you don't want to). The staff was kind and the breakfast (despite was critized by other tripadvisor's users) was perfect: 4 juices to choose, a lot of pastries (cakes, croissants, etc), cereals, salami, ham, eggs, bacon, coffee machine, teas,... There are only two things I must say: there is only two or three types of bread (for me it is enough! but comparing to the pastries there is a big difference), and ask for a room that doesn't face at the street (it was really noisy, people were parting and having fun). Thank you for having us, I will come back for sure!!!!

"Nice Hotel, Great Location"
379anilb, 10 Octobre 2015

The rooms are clean & nice. I would recommend that one asks for the rooms that are facing the street as these rooms have a small balcony. Other rooms facing inside only have a recessed window with a view of some other residential properties. Hotel has great location with many eateries, Egyptian museum, library within walking distance.

"thumbs up"
Awee15, 06 Octobre 2015

the rooms are clean, rates are good (reasonably-priced), the hotel is conveniently situated (it is very near the train station), and the staff were a breeze to deal with. i would recommend this hotel to friends.

"Friendly staff. Good location."
CAE4740, 17 Septembre 2015

The room was nicely decorated. The bed was clean and comfortable with good pillows. The bathroom was large and clean. I did not use the breakfast so I cannot comment. The parking is several blocks down the street in a rather poor neighborhood but there was no trouble. Great location for the train and taxis and buses.

"Beautiful Room in a Beautiful Hotel in a Beautiful Town"
Ledkins, 27 Juillet 2015

My daughter, who is studying abroad in France, traveled solo to Turin, Italy, to sight-see for a weekend, July 2015. I contacted the BW Hotel Genio in Turin, asking them to please watch over my daughter. Both Salvatore and Sara contacted me, and both were professionally kind and genuinely caring. This, to me, is excellent, top-notch customer service. Salavtore and Sara should receive top customer service awards! My daughter was given a beautiful, spotless nonsmoking, non-pet room, renovated and modern, in a very lovely historic building, worthy of a 5 star hotel. A perfect stay. Terrific air conditioning, terrific amenities, very comfortable bed, and a full, abundant breakfast included, all at an excellent price. My daughter was delighted to be staying at this hotel and sent pictures to our family by the minute. For my daughter, this was an absolutely clean, friendly, quiet, safe location, near the Porta Nuova railway station and only a $1 metro ride from the Porta Susa railway station (a very short ride between each station). Importantly, too, a centrally located hotel. My daughter walked to many wonderful landmarks and climbed a hill overlooking the city, strolled to a beautiful park and river, and admired painters painting by the river. A truly unforgettable experience! My daughter says this about Italy, from her weekend experience in Turin -- "The Italian people are beautiful, they are genuinely friendly, and Turin is wonderfully quaint and amazing. I hope to return." I personally want to thank the BW Hotel Genio for their kindness shown toward my daughter and me, for going above and beyond the call of duty, for top-notch customer service, and for a beautiful hotel. I give 5 out of 5 stars to BW Hotel Genio and will recommend this BW to all my friends and family!

"Centrally located downtown"
JonathanA_stuttgart, 12 Juillet 2015

We did not make reservations for Turin, but happened to see this hotel once navigated to the city center. The hotel accepts pets, has A/C and free wifi. The parking is bit odd, as you pay the counter, then drive about 4 blocks to a garage where they park your car and keep the key. I was hesitant, but felt as I had no choice since I'd already paid the 20 euro. My experience wasn't bad, but it is a bit nerve-racking. The hotel is pretty central to many of the sites, about a 1 km walk to the main palace. I don't have anything negative to say about the hotel, although it isn't anything special either. If you need an affordably priced hotel, in this area, it is completely suitable. The train station is very close, but we were driving, so this was not an advantage for us. The A/C, while not as good as many places, did keep them room adequately cool considering the hot July weather we experienced outside.

"Saved by Genio"
Marisol R, 24 Juin 2015

After a 24 hour trip from Costa Rica to Turin the last thing we wanted was to be left out on the street because the office at our residence was closed. So we walked around looking for a hotel that would take us in without a reservation at 8pm and with three dogs!!!! The staff was wonderful and saved us! The hotel is beautiful and has a free gym and a spa for an additional 7 € fee, not bad at all, is well worth it
