Best Western Taxco

We stayed one night at this hotel in order to see Taxco's famous Semana Santa activities. The hotel has a perfect location very close to the center and main cathedral. The room was very clean and spacious with a nice window looking out at the street. It was downstairs from the lobby so nice and cool - we didn't need the AC most of the time, just right before bed. The front desk staff was very friendly. The next day when we checked out they securely held our luggage for us until it was time to catch our bus. They even gave us a little gift parting gift when we checked out, a Taxco keychain. It was a great stay and we'd recommend this Best Western to anyone.

My parents and I popped up to Taxco for the weekend and the Best Western was in the heart of the shopping, restaurant and site seeing area. The staff were great and easy to deal with. The rooms were very clean and offered the typical coffee, bottled water, small fridge and Shampoo etc. The beds were hard and the only other thing was the noise from the street. You could hear music until 2am. Next time would just ask for a room on the other side of the hotel.

Ok hotel. Ok room. Decent view. Staff indifferent. Not very helpful. Parking a bit of a pain but the bellman was nice. No upgrade offered (gold member hotels.com). Hotel was no where near full. A tad noisy.

Hotel is OK, room is a bit old and tiny. nothing fancy. The last day we checked out the room and left our luggages at reception to enjoy the last day in this great city. After a few hours we relizee we forgot passport and wallet in the room. Only the passport was there when we came back for it. Wallet with all documents, visa and of course money disappeared.. Staff helped us to look into cleaning ladies garbage, all the laundry but nothing. No doubt that someone who had access in the room after we left stole it as its impossible they found the passport without the wallet as they were together.

The crew went above and beyond during our stay. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the rooftop restaurant in the hotel, great view of the city. The location was perfect, walking distance of everything. My family and I truly enjoyed this trip

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Best Western hotel in Taxco. We found the location and facilities excellent but most of all we appreciated the friendly and professional service we received. In particular, could we mention Priscilla, Abraham and Elias who each helped us with our many questions, local knowledge and onward travel arrangements always with enthusiasm and a smile. They were a credit to the hotel and a significant reason why we will certainly stay at the Best Western Taxco if we are able to return. Please pass on our thanks. They are a credit to the hotel.

For some reason I really liked this hotel, it just felt really comfy. It has perfect location for visiting Taxco, not exactly in zocolo, but a couple of minutes away - a bit more calm, but with perfect access to everything. If travelling by bus, it is perfectly located to reach both bus stations - 3 minutes of a steep downhill walk for one, and some 5-7 minutes straight walk on a nearby street to reach the bus that goes to the caves. There was both coffee maker and bottled water provided.

This is our second stay in The Best Western in Taxco. This is probably the closest hotel to the centre of town that has air condition in the room. Although the suites are a nice size I would refrain from taking the top floor since you would be under the restaurant. If you are a light sleeper choose the lower floors. Close to restaurant and would definitely stay there again.

Very clean and well located. Fair price. Friendly and helpful staff (very little English spoken). The bed was comfortable and the room furnished well. The downside was the small bathroom. No window in my room but it really didn't matter. A 5 minute walk to town square and many restaurants. Would return again.

Driving through this town is a nightmare, so we were very relieved to stay here, a few steps from the old zocalo, and leave the car in their secure carpark. Check your room first, some do not have windows. Everything was clean, staff good.

The hotel was in an excellent location close to the zocalo and valet parking was much appreciated. Rooms are small but very clean and two of our three rooms had no window. Air conditioning was good and worked well, as did the free WiFi.Reasonable price all things considered. Staff were friendly and helpful. We booked online and were able to take advantage of Promotion pricing so I suggest that you check out that option.

The Best Western is a comfortable inn near the center of town. I viewed it as comparable to a nice small inn in London where there are about four rooms per floor, each has its own floor plan, the rooms are extremely clean and you are near the center of town. If you arrive by car, use google street view first to familiarize yourself with where this hotel is located. All signs in Taxco are in black with the whitewash background so don't expect to find a traditional Best Western illuminated sign. It is a few business fronts off a plaza on what appears to be a one way street but is two way. Pull your car near the entrance and hug the storefronts to allow cars to pass. A bellman will appear to help with baggage. If a car is already there, the bellman will have you follow him down a tiny street to pull in a garage at the back base of the hotel. You will then climb about three floors to get back to the lobby. The bellman will carry your bags to your room and your car will then be taken to a lot elsewhere in the city about 20 mins away. The valet parking is free but naturally tip the bellman/valet. Valet parking is 9am to 9pm. Some rooms have balconies, most rooms face the back. I recommend getting the higher floors on the back--3 and 4--to reduce the street noise. The third floor is the lobby level as it is the entrance from the front. All rooms are extremely clean. All rooms have A/C, a rarity for Taxco. All rooms have an in room safe but you must ask for its unique key as they don't keep the batteries current to use the four digit keypad. Breakfast is not included; I recommend the Santa Fe 150m away. All rooms have ample plugs for computers and phones. WiFi is free but slow. Here's the bottom line. If you want a world class resort, Monte Taxco Inn is great but is 2 miles away from the city center. The Best Western is the best option in town if you want guaranteed a/c, good plugs, very clean, and a safe 24 hr front desk. Although 'Best Western' in name, this is a local establishment without a cookie cutter approach so you are staying in a local inn. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The manager speaks English and can arrange local day tours through the city's official tour guides. I recommend this hotel.

This hotel is very convenient to downtown Taxco, as are many other local hotels. Warning though - you don't want to drive through downtown Taxco. It's a royal pain despite what Google maps tells you. All streets are basically pedestrian streets and no one pays attention to parking laws. Stay on 95 for as long as you can. I'm not a fan of this hotel. The staff was nice enough and the hotel was clean. No complaints there. What I didn't like was that one of our rooms had no window. It had a pseudo-window that went into a nasty, dark shaft with disgusting air and several ACs heating it up. The room was not the type we reserved either... not sure if that type would've been better. I think a large number of rooms in the hotel are like this. And our AC stopped working on the second night so we were basically trapped in a very hot and humid concrete box. At the least this place needs to be clear about the lack of a window and price those rooms differently (they don't, so it's a gamble). Other things I didn't like - the chain lock on the door was missing the mating piece and there's very little security at the hotel (no one ever checked my key when I walked through the lobby). Plus instead of giving us disposable hotel card keys they gave us permanent keys with the room number written on them. So if I ever dropped that key without realizing it we're basically asking for someone to rob us. To be fair, I think a lot of the hotels in downtown Taxco are like this. But this particular one is easily double the price of a comparable local hotel which would've had more charm and better food (the restaurant here was ok, but over priced and nothing special). And many local options were even closer to the town square. Next time I'm in Taxco I'm going with the local option.

This is a nice and small hotel in downtown Taxco; rooms are clean,comfortable and have air conditioning. Note that not all the hotels have air conditioning, make sure you confirm this. The location is perfect to walking around and visiting all the attractions that this small town can offer, one day is enough to stay and this hotel is a very good option.

We had a bad experience making the reservation with the credit card when we checked in we used one credit card at the moment for any expenses, and when we checked out we paid in full with another credit card. But the hotel charge me in both C.C´s the bank send me an alert about the fraudulent charge, I call them bank to check and they informed me that they were trying to make more charges in different places at the time I was on my way home from the Hotel Best Western Taxco. The Bank had to cancel my account as protocol and I was left with out my CC for the rest of my trip until I got back home were they send the plastic replacement for my CC. Be very careful don't stay at The Best Western hotel Taxco and try using cash but in Mexico nothing is safe. Come ready for dozens of people coming up to you to sell you silver at "reduce prices 30% or 40%" and also town people pulling you into restaurants since everybody in town works on commission.

Loved it here. Room was Clean. View was great and short walk to all the sights. food was also good. The staff at the hotel were helpful. The streets are small and their the town is hilly so that could be a problem if you have trouble walking.

As I said above, the mattress is not as soft as a Ibis Style Hotel mattress. The Location is very good in Taxco, close to the silver shops, restaurants and the main square. Equipped with Fridge and Coffee maker at the bedroom. There was NO safelocker sadly. The view from the TERRACE during breakfast is really really nice! It´s worth a visit and the breakfast, in case you haven´t the chance to dine at the top of some other restaurant's terrace. Breakfast is not included on the price. The bedrooms are very charming!

Very well located, one block away from the main square. Clean and well presented, rooms are small and is very noisy during the night. Great attitude from the personnel at the frontdesk and valet parking.

I found this little hotel comfortable and cosy at the same time. The restaurant has a great view of the city and It has a great location near everything in Taxco. It has all the necessary requirements for a vacation or business trip. Also, all the personnel in the hotel is very kind and will help you get around. They work with a tour guide that has a terrific "horror legends" tour almost every night. It's not pricey at all and you won't find nasty surprises in beds or bathroom like in those "boutique" houses. A must if you go to Taxco. AND IT'S PET FRIENDLY!!!!!

If you're a regular traveler to Taxco, then you know that hotel rooms here tend to be small in the downtown area, but even I was caught off guard by the size of the standard room that I booked online at this Best Western Hotel, it looked much more spacious in the photographs provided by management. We kept waking each other up all night as we went to the bathroom, because the door bangs into the bed frame every time it is opened, and two suitcases made the room feel extremely small, since there really isn't any place to put them, or clothes. The hotel is clean, but has a strange smell to it, kind of like a hospital. The staff is not really warm or friendly, but not rude either, we checked out after one night and moved on. The one good thing I can say is that the wi-fi is better than average, especially for Taxco, the hotel has four repeaters on-sight, but it still skips out occasionally.

Spending time with friends and family like good enough to me give me full relaxation and enjoyable evening and good food is main reason to visit there a lot and I like do our funhion as well like birthday party an all

Came in to taxco with no idea where to stay with 7 adults and 3 kids. The locals were super friendly and helpful! They pointed us to a smaller hotel, then to this best western. The check in was super easy, helpful, and no problems getting us a discount for the multiple rooms! Such a relief to have such an easy pleasant welcoming! Rooms are really nice! Very modern and up to date! Even the cool idea of the key card having to be inserted in a slot in your room so the power stays on! Made me remember to grab my key card! High ceilings and a giant window with a view made it a lot cooler! If you ever make it this way for the cheap silver I recommend this place hands down!!
