    « Business trip »

Very small room with old noisy aircon. Room was so hot I had to run aircon all night. Noise from highway/bridge. 500 Lorikeets started squawking at 5am next to window (overnight roost). Free wifi very limited - reached "quota" quickly and it locked me out - not good for business trip. Bed was comfortable enough.

    « Noisy, dirty, unhelpful/ »

Nice location overlooking river, unfortunately the incessant noise of traffic clumping over the bridge was enough to keep even the most exhausted traveller awake. On the surface things looked clean enough, however, the bathroom was in need of a serious going over. Had to use hand towel as a bath mat inside the shower as it looked so gross. The sink in bathroom is not big enough to be able to fill up kettle, have to use the shower to make yourself a cuppa. Also in regards to restaurant, should not advertise as gluten free if you cannot make it gluten free when busy, without fear of being cross contaminated. We took key with us by mistake and were told unless we express posted back by next day they would have to change locks and charge us for it. Maybe just get another key cut at our expense, have posted key back, certainly wouldn't use it to get into that room again! On a positive note, nice shower head!

    « Decent Motel »

Typical country style motel located right on the river in Taree. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is free wifi with adequate speed. The TV is not visible from the bed, which I find annoying. The bathrooms are a bit old and dated. The staff are friendly and accommodating.

    « Short stay »

Great views of the River. An older style motel. Rooms are small but comfortable. Handy location. Access is tricky coming from the bridge. Clean rooms and staff who care. Ideal for the budget conscious. I'd stay here again. Bathroom exhaust fan could do with some maintenance.

    « Loved Taree »

Friendly staff, lovely place, wonderful hot shower! We stayed for a family birthday in Taree and will stay again...the staff were lovely and understanding of our elderly family members in our group. Lovely view of the river from our balcony....

« OK but not the best in Taree »

Reasonably priced and interesting location next to river, short walk into town. Also noisy because close to road. Rooms a bit run-down and in need of refurbishment. Noisy until late in evening, partly due to design of the building & poor noise insulation. Also didn't appreciate other guests using the communal area immediately outside my room as a smoking / drinking zone, late into the evening.

« Good place to stay. »

It is a bit misleading of to give this motel 4 stars, but the 4 stars relate to the hospitality, not the actual building...The actual motel has been there near the iconic bridge over the Manning for as long as I remember..Used to be the Zebra I think., We have stayed here before and found the ladies who run it doing a brilliant job..very helpful...They have moderized this motel as much as an old building can be..The rooms are comfy especially the king beds....showers have good hot water, and there is every thing you need for an overnight or longer stay...Its right on the river and surprisingly quiet an peaceful. ...Thank you Rachel and Kylie for a nice stay!

« Great view on the river »

We were driving past the motel and decided spontaneously to check in because most other hotels were already booked up. Nevertheless we had a very pleasant stay and got good tips for dinner from the receptionist. The rooms where clean and the view on the river with bridge was lovely.

« Comfy bed, good food »

Conveniently located within walking distance to the main shopping area. While not 5star, was good value for money, clean, neat and tidy. The pool was great for a quick dip at the end of a hot day on the road. Right in the river, the scenery was good also.

    « 80s dump »

Built in 1980 's and has"nt been touched since, noisy, and passage way to toilet & shower great if you are nine years old, on main road right next to bridge so trucks of a night made sleeping difficult, restaurant only open Mon/Thurs.And at $135 a night not up to this standard. Would I stay there again-------NO

    « Handy Spot »

Good place to stay when travelling along the East Coast. Great staff with good meals available with a restaurant on site serving reasonably priced and tasty meals. I always stay here when working in Taree , as a lot of others this trip.

    « Value for money »

Stayed here for work. While the rooms are older they are clean and tidy. Reception staff are friendly and if you catch a glimpse of the rag doll cats their friendly too!! Next to the river so it is somewhat peaceful.

    « Great view »

Although the property is older, it is very well maintained and our room was very clean, helpful staff and a great view over the river. The property is walking distance to town, so we found it very convenient.

« Good for my short stay »

Pro's: convenient and close to town, available last minute, clean motel and friendly service. Items I had left behind were safely kept aside for when I remembered them and returned a few hours later to pick them up. Con's: Very small room considering the size of the bed, found the fridge located in a cupboard under the TV, and the in-room column heater didn't work.

    « It's like a mini home »

We normally stay in the top room that has an outdoor area with views of the pool and river. For the view i give that a 4 out of 5 The rooms that have make u feel like home, u have a lounge room and two bed rooms. And two TVs which is a bonus since most hotels only have one Shower had nice pressure and bed was comfortable The food was nice especially the chill garlic cheese bread, scotch fillet was nicely cooked as well. Time when from when we ordered till when we got our food was reasonable

« No air conditioning and in need of repair!!! »

So I arrived on a cold 13 degree night to find that there is no air conditioning in the room........Not sure what to say about that as I haven't come across a hotel in Australia not having something so crucial ever. It didn't help that they had left all the windows open. They do have cooling and they keep a tiny 3 fin oil heater in the cupboard but it can't even heat the carpet surrounding it as there is so much cold air flowing through the huge one inch gap in the door. I went to have a shower and turned the light on, only to think that the roof was falling in. Turns out it is just the extraction fan that comes on automatically with the light. I think it is from the 1950's as it sounds like it is about to fly out and kill anyone in the vicinity. I will say that the reception is very polite and try to accommodate as much as possible and the room itself is clean. It's just not maintained or equipped adequately. I notice many others have the same comments and have for quite a while but it appears that management do not pay attention to these reviews. I will not be returning as there are MANY other hotels in Taree that offer MUCH BETTER facilities for a similar if not the same price.

« Great location, close to facilities and clean »

We decided upgrade to the king room overlooking the river , this was a bigger room and the bed was very comfortable , the room was clean with a modest bathroom, there was all you need, fresh towels, hairdryer and toilets, the fridge had milk and there was tea and coffee supplies. The traffic was noticed going over the bridge but the curtains shut at night to sleep it was fine.
