    « Disappointing »

A week before thanksgiving we called the hotel to book a room to stay in town for Thanksgiving. We booked Wednesday and Thursday night. They gave us a price and my husband asked for a military discount. They said they they would give us the discount when we go there. We got into town and went to visit our family first. My husband called the hotel to let them know we would be in later. They said they didn't have our reservation. The original lady got on the phone that my husband booked with and she said she found our reservation. We got to the hotel and they said the military discount was the same rate as the regular rate already told us. So whatever, that was fine. We got into the room and everything was clean. No smells and the heater worked fine. I sent my child to shower right away and we noticed that there were only 2 wash clothes, hand towels and towels for the four of us. My husband went back to the front desk to ask for more towels but we had to wait a while before someone could unlock the towel closet. Then I was in the bathroom and looked at the toilet paper and it was down to the last ten squares. So I looked around more more toilet paper in the room and there was none and the facial tissues were out also. My husband went back to the front desk and got toilet paper and tissues. The beds were fine. The breakfast was fine - eggs, sausage, biscuits, waffles and then the other contintental items. We left to visit family for thanksgiving day and received a call a few minutes before 11 telling us to get our stuff out of our room. My husband said but we have the room for two days. They said they would let us book a room with a king size bed and roll away bed for fifty more dollars. Eventually they said they would give us a ten percent discount on that room. The original lady called back later and said that we could get a different king room with a jacquzzi for forty percent off but it was still more than we were originally going to pay. You could tell she felt bad but the girl who worked the desk the morning didn't care at all and was not willing to work it out for us. So it's thanksgiving night and my family will be sleeping on the floor. Hopefully we will be well rested for our drive home tomorrow.

« Road trip to Cape Hatteras »

We stopped in Tarboro after driving from Ocala on a road trip to photograph lighthouses. This Best Western was extremely nice, the beds were heavenly and the staff was great. We got up early and the lovely lady setting up the breakfast bar was gracious and got us some muffins and coffee to go.

Great hotel, conveniently located off US64. Clean room, comfortable bed. Front desk staff very courteous easy check in and express check out. Open breakfast room. Excellent hot breakfast with many...many delicious choices. Hot sausages, creamy sausage gravy, waffle station withstrawberry, blueberry toppings. Scrabbled eggs, cheese omelette, boiled eggs, fresh selection of bakery items. Farm fresh fruits....list goes on and on. I highly recommend this hotel to my fellow travelers.

    « My Stay At Tarboro,NC BW »

Nice motel that needed several cosmetic improvements. Room was damp, and had cigarette smell. Basically a nice serviceable place that needed some cosmetic updates; e.g. paint, carpet,. Pool area had beer bottles and cans left over from previous night. Employees were very accommodating.

    « nice hotel »

This was a nice hotel for the price. The room was recently redone. What was a little odd was that the sink and counter were right at the door when you walked in so if you were getting ready and another of your party was coming in the door, you would be open to the hallway, not really a problem but just a little awkward. Had a hard time getting the t.v. to work, called housekeeping, they came right away and fixed it for us. Staff was very friendly. Was quiet. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast but had lots of options. Nice bright breakfast area. Outdoor pool was a little cool but granted this was September. Not a lot of things to do in the area but we were just passing through so it fit the bill for us. Bojangles within walking, Walmart across the street. Hardee's close by.

    « fIX air »

The room was so so nothing great. The air didn't work well at all for a hot natures person They had no fans and though they offered for me to move rooms after doing that over 20 times a week the last thing you want is to move rooms again.. I can deal with just about anything but a hot room is not one of those things. Im in town every three months and I hate to say this will go in the dont return folder.

    « Comfortable Stay »

My husband and I spent the night at the Best Western in Tarboro on a trip to Edenton. We had a wonderful night's stay with a very comfortable king bed. The breakfast was extremely good for a motel; it consisted of biscuits, gravy, sausage, a variety of eggs including omelettes, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs, fruits, bagels, muffins, yogurt, juices, etc. Although we did not use the pool, it appeared to be sparkling clean. The only small complaint I would have was a slight "musty" smell from the air conditioner.

    3
    « Okay Stay »

I had to fix the tv, tv adapter was not properly working. I had to plug in lamps and the microwave door was open and could not be closed due to repair because it would still run and would never time out. The worse problem was an issue with an odor in the front of the room it smelt like a sewage odor.

    « Good for A Night »

The overall experience was ok. This is not the place to stay if you want major bells and whistles. If you are looking to lay your head and rest up for the next leg on your journey, this is the place. I would not reserve here as a destination. The personnel were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant. They serve a full, complimentary breakfast. And coffee is available throughout the day. There is also a small workout room. We only needed a night's stay. So it adequately met our need.

« Best Manager and A Great Hotel »

The hotel was great with all the amenities. The price was very reasonable. The room was very clean and had micro and a refrigerator as well. The manager (Mr. Anil) was great! He would personally talk to guests and help them whenever needed. He even customized our breakfast in the morning. He was very courteous and caring. Great Hotel!

« Great people Great service »

Great Location, right off the interstate. Manager (Neil) Anil was superb and down to earth. Nice presentation of things to expect at the check-in. Much better than expectation going by the earlier reviews. very comfortable bed and room was very clean. Break-fast was huge Plus.. I loved the huge selection of sausage, gravy, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, egg and cheese omelets, waffles.. I saw Neil himself helping & serving guests. My husband on business trip stayed here 2 nights and it was a little vacation for me. Pool was kept very clean. Enjoyed everything. I will be back just for vacation again..

« Deal or No Deal »

Be careful when choosing convenience and cheaper rates. This hotel is basically a glamorized motel. Looks are surely deceiving at this location. Make sure they clean everything and ask to see the last time the room was cleaned. Check everything thoroughly.

    « Excellent stay »

Only but good things to say about this hotel and staff! Lots of amenities such as pool, hot free breakfast and free fast internet and wifi. Very friendly helpful front desk staff. Housekeeper was very polite. Will definitely visit again on my way to the beach.

    4
    « Better than expected »

Friendly, clean, comfortable. Hampton-class amenities, room furnishings and breakfast. Much better experience than expected. Great front desk experience...courteous, professional. I definitely would return.

    3
    « Typical Stay »

This Best Western is your typical moderately priced hotel. It had a very clean and organized lobby area, the desk clerk was polite and the room was A-typical for a Best Western. My room contained a microwave, refrigerator, and internet access. The toilet was loose but worked perfectly and the closet door was removed. They served a very good breakfast consisting or juices, coffee, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and cereals, etc.

    3
« Nice staff, basic hotel, so-so cleanliness »

Basic hotel that had everything we needed for our one night stopover on the way to the beach. Fridge in the room was a bonus. Staff was really nice, cheery, talkative and helpful. So-so on cleanliness. Breakfast had fruit, pastries, waffle bar, eggs, sausage, yogurt...

« Worst hotel ever stayed at »

My company booked this hotel for me. It was nasty. Bed linens dirty. Light in bathroom was like a disco ball. It blinked on and off. 2 towels was all we got. Washcloths stained! No place to plug cell phones. Half of the lamps were not working. Hairdryer did not work. I wore my shoes to and from bathroom. Floor nasty and dirty and keep finding wood chips? Mini refrigerator water all on bottom of refrig. I NEVER could get into my door. Key had to be rejected at least 10 times! Lack of maid service! I ask a maid for another towel and she said no clean towels. She said laundry behind. Poor dirty!

« Delightful stay near the Outer Banks of North Carolina »

The Best Western in Tarboro was immaculate, fresh, and inviting. The staff could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was just excellent. It was a wonderful stop on our way to the Outer Banks. Nearby restaurants were very good.

    « Great Customer Service »

The manager, Shakar, is a great guy and provides excellent customer service. The hotel is pet-friendly and I bring my little dog with me when I travel. They are reasonable and charge only a small one night pet fee which was waived on my last visit. This Best Western also has one of the best breakfast spreads I have every had. There is a hot breakfast which includes waffles, biscuits and gravy. fruit, eggs. sausage, boiled eggs, and more. It is possible to eat healthy and indulge.

« Nice staff but very unsanitary »

We are here for an overnight stay and I have now been to 2 different rooms that were very unclean. The first non-smoking room (228) had cigarette ash around both beds, smelled like smoke, had a partially drunk beer can in the floor and wood clippings in the bed. We were moved to another room (218) and found the linen soiled, rat feces on the wall, holes in the linen, hair in the bed. Me and the kids are too tired to drive to Rocky Mount to go to another hotel, so I worked with the very nice receptionist to just change the linen. The replacement linen had a blood stain on it. I took it back and was eventually able to get a semi decent set of linen. After further inspection I found the power switch on a lamp did not work, bubble gum on the head board, and some kind of gunk on the lamp base. I did not take pictures of the first room because I dismissed it as a mistake. I was not expecting the hotel to be perfect, but this surprised me. I do not understand how AAA gave this hotel a triple diamond award for 2016. For any doubters, here are pics taken at around 1:00am EST on Friday May 27. If you are coming here, please strongly reconsider.

    « Class reunion »

This is the first time staying at the hotel. It was a very nice, clean hotel that was convenient to many restaurants, shopping and historical sites. They kept the breakfast opened later on the weekend which was great, because we over slept after a fun time at my husbands class reunion. Would stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

« Check in was very good also when checking out was very good . We stayed for two nights. Beds were very good. »

We stayed for two nights. The staff was very good. Asked for more towels both nights and we got them. I would stay here again. Motel is right off highway ,very close to Super Walmart and gas station. We were their for a show in Taraboro which was only 8 miles away.

    4
    « Easy Access »

This hotel is conveniently located just off the highway and offers free breakfast and wi-fi. The town is small but the location of this hotel offers is centrally located to most things you need while traveling.

« Avoid Staying at this hotel »

The reception staff was nice and friendly but the rooms were not clean. The bathroom was gross. There was hair still in the shower from a previous guest. The maid left a dirty rag hanging from the shower curtain rod. The toilet handle had to be held down in order to flush. My clean socks had dirt on them from walking around on the floor. The walls are so thin that you could hear what is going on in the hallway and outside. Overall experience was poor and I do not recommend this hotel.

    « Excellent stay »

What a pleasant surprise at this hotel. Came in for an engagement party for our daughter and her soon to be new family had suggested this hotel. Loved it and would stay again if we visit the area again.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

Friendly service, and a clean hotel. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but very clean. The beds are comfortable, there was lots of hot water, and the shower head was great. I'm in the area visiting family, and I'd definitely come back here again. I've paid more for hotels that were not as nice as this one.

    « Nice Hotel »

We have stayed at this hotel previously and enjoy it. The rooms are nice and clean, The rates are reasonable, The staff is friendly, and the breakfast is good. This hotel is located right off of NC Highway 64, which is convenient to travelers. The hotel is beside a BoJangles, and a gas station. It is across the street from a WalMart and a Lowes shopping center.

« Great Stay in Tarboro »

Manager was very nice and down to earth and very helpful. Break-fast was superb and had many options and nice varieties. Within the walking distance to Wal-Mart and Bojangles'. Room was very clean, adequately lighted. Looks like they are spending money to keep the property up. I will stay here whenever I visit Tarboro again and Highly recommend.

    « Overnight »

Hotel was standard nothing great to brag about. Desk clerk was on phone Sounded like a personal call) when I arrived. He checked me in but never said a word to me just kept right on chatting on phone, I asked where the elevator was and he just made a motion with his hand to the direction, but it was the wrong way. Don't think I will stay at this Best Western again. A big let down from other Best Westerns I have stayed at.

    3
    « Disappointment »

Breakfast left something to be desired. There was no bacon and I mean "real" bacon. Eggs were powdered kind. If the sausage was real and not turkey, it was still not satisfactory, gravy too thick. Shower curtain that reaches inside of the tub.

    « Great Stay »

Staff was great! Hotel was very clean and close to Greenville. I will stay here again in the future if I come to the area. They have a very nice breakfast also. The room was newly renovated and the bed was comfortable.

« Amazing! Great for a night stay. »

I stopped here on my way to the beach and my husband had lost his purse (we did not know we lost it at the hotel). The manager called us! and mailed it. The wallet had couple of hundred dollars and it was untouched. AMAZING STAFF!! the room was clean and smelled nice. The breakfast was hot too. Will be staying here again on our way back.

    « Okay. Slightly pricey. »

Booked through Trivago/Expedia. We were falsely instructed to call ahead as no one would be manning the desk - not true. Pre-paid with credit card on June 29, but room was not used until Aug 23. The internet said we would be reimbursed if price went lower. The motel's receipt showed $55.84, but we had paid 74.59. Friendly receptionist. Too few lights in the room. Very nice room. A/C annoying - constantly turning on for a very few seconds. Clock provided. No information pamphlets in room. Nice shower. Noisy doors slamming all night. Ok breakfast.

    2
« I will not book here again »

I do not recommend this hotel unless you have low expectations and low standards for even basic accommodations. I would hate to think that better service only comes at higher prices but it seems that way. I will gladly pay more to stay someplace else next time.

    « Skip this hotel »

We arrived without a reservation and got the last room. I can see why it wasn't occupied. The smell was unbelievable: there must have been a cigar/cigarette convention in there and no one opened a window. There was one lamp that worked. The other two may have worked, but I wasn't going to get on that filthy floor to plug them in. There were not enough plugs for cell phones, lamps, and/or the coffee pot. Speaking of which- there was a coffee pot with no coffee, no cream, no sugar, no cups. There were two teabags - that was it. The bathroom door would not open all the way - it hit the shower curtain about halfway open - very inconvenient. The room door stuck and wS hard to close and open. There were four of us in the room and they gave us two bath towels - were we supposed to share? The shower was so disgusting and filthy that we skipped showers. Breakfast was adequate: but not enough seats. The hall bathroom was dirty at nine in the morning - no paper towels and the wet paint sign was on the inside of the door / that meant you touched the wet paint before you knew about it. As a cardholder in the hotel chain I was very disappointed. We will never go there again.

    5
    « Surprised »

The value of the room was excellent. I booked so late and the only room available was smoking. I was so suprised at the cleaning level of this establishment that I could not tell. Very quite and the from desk made me feel welcomed even if I came in at a very late time.
