"4 stars if the scale is out of 50 perhaps"
Ben K, 17 Avril 2024

Really shocked to see the ratings on this place. They've listed themselves as four stars but with the plexiglass at the check in desk and the pervasive bad odor, I would put them at two at best. I don't know who rates the hotels, but I don't recall being at any four star hotel with such a shabby nonexistent lobby. I suspect the ratings are higher because I rebooked to a much nicer hotel and they've refused to refund me even a little bit, so perhaps the bad reviews are being taken down once people get their credit. They were also so kind as to tell me I couldn't get a refund unless I called Expedia, which I did, and they immediately denied. Can't vouch for the room or anything else, but I recommend staying somewhere else. Anywhere else. Had to delete and add back because TripAdvisor doesn't allow an edit, but suffice it to say GM Daniel Rosso replied, so I will also address his concerns. He was pretty happy to disclose private information about my booking so perhaps he'll either rethink that or not, but I'll happily share. I did book via a third party portal, like many people. Unfortunately, I had misgivings about my booking (which I now see to be quite justified) and thought it best to see if they could be reasonable and flexible, seeing as how I spent $1,300 and that's a very large amount of money to forgo. But no, there's zero flexibility--a first for me as a frequent traveler, actually, as hotels recognize that policies can always be waived or forgiven. Again, not this time! Did I forget anything, Daniel? Please feel free to share any private details again about the booking! I'm adding a photo of the resplendent 4-star lobby you'll be missing out on, complete with plexiglass divider to make you feel like a contagion carrier. Can't seem to recreate the smell. Suffice it to say I am quite happy with my decision to stay at a different hotel.

"SO COMFORTABLE HERE"
TJ J, 10 Avril 2024

Very friendly and personable staff. Rooms are very well maintained, with 1/2 kitchen included, a sofa and a breakfast table. Extremely comfortable bed. Hot water pot, iron and microwave and refrigerator. The attached cafe is also accessible to outsiders. Great breakfast and sandwiches, coffees and other drinks available for purchase.

"Great stay"
Margaret M, 07 Avril 2024

Great location, within walking distance of sights of Sydney and close to train and buses. Sydney has a great public transport system making it easy to get around. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was facing the road so it was quite noisy, but other than that we had a good stay

"Great stay, great room"
JillynRob, 07 Mars 2024

Great room with kitchenette, comfy bed and great shower. Breakfast next door was adequate. Easy walk to central quay. Hoho bus around the corner on William st Harry's bar for food and drinks, turn left out of hotel and bar at bottom of hill, can't miss it

"Great location"
rapteme7, 05 Mars 2024

Nice room size, had a great sleep, bathroom was ok, everything was clean and staff was friendly (thank you Andrew). We went there to see the Mardi Grass Parade and the location could not be better! I was expecting the bar to be open so I could have some drinks and snacks but it was closed. Overall a good place to stay with great location but few food and drink options.

"Swifty Weekend"
Deake1974, 04 Mars 2024

We visited Sydney for the Taylor Swift concert, and the Best Western Plus was in an ideal location. Perfect walking distance to Central Station and Circular Quay. The room was clean, beds comfy and a perfect size for my 3 daughters and I for the weekend.

"Would not return to this hotel - too far from tourist areas and poor communal hotel facilities."
Helen M, 29 Février 2024

I wouldn't return to this hotel, despite friendly staff. The hotel is basic with no real communal spaces (there is an uncomfortable sofa near reception). This was difficult on check in day whilst waiting for our room and in the evenings as our room had no sofa either. The hotel is about a mile from the main attractions around circular quay. Room itself was spacious and well equipped kitchenette. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows flat. The shower was good and amenities were provided. Good offers and food in the cafe, but only open till 3pm.

"Outstanding choice for a family visit to Sydney!"
Tuvomigas, 21 Février 2024

We had an excellent visit at Hotel Stellar. My family of 4 (two kids, 11 and 8) had initially booked through an external online service, and that service screwed up our reservation. The front desk staff were extremely courteous and helpful in assisting us with resolving this situation, and managed to get us two rooms right next to each other on Floor 1 for basically the same price. The rooms had all the amenities you want, were very comfortable, and were cleaned daily. Wifi was great. Location was also great. Very high marks for our first visit to Sydney.

"GREAT WEEKEND"
macsla2106, 05 Février 2024

STAFF: Absolutely loved the welcome from staff member Andrew when we arrived, early, to ask if luggage could be stored. He volunteered that although we were too early for a check-in (which we knew), our luggage could be stored, there were facilities where we could freshen up and food and drinks available from the adjoining Bar Stellar cafe. We truly felt welcomed. It was a hot day and when we returned to check-in, Andrew had started the air-con in our room. Housekeeping were quick and efficient. Staff at the adjoining Bar Stellar cafe were also welcoming and accommodating. LOCATION: perfect location, walking distance to everything. FACILITIES & CLEANLINESS: everything was clean and in good condition. Was great to have the kitchenette, giving us the option of being able to grab some things from nearby to have in room.

"Nice hotel and convenient location"
Kerry K, 08 Janvier 2024

Hotel chosen for convenient location and good reviews. Did not disappoint. Short walk to Museum Station. On-site cafe good for breakfast. Rooms not huge but clean and comfortable. Good size bathroom and nice showers. Didnt find a decent restaurant really close by - had to Uber, take train or walk a bit to eat lunch/dinner. But overall good stay, good value - would stay again

"Best location"
P_and_C2013, 09 Décembre 2023

We stayed 4 nights. Our room was big and very clean. The best location to go walking around the park or walked to the Centre or even taking a tram. Few steps to convenience store. Restaurants around. We would stay here again. Only one point, we asked the hotel about taking a taxi from International Airport to hotel. Hotel gave an estimation of around 50 AUD. While we paid 100 AUD if in cash or 110 AUD using credit card.

"DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING AREA PROVIDED"
634annies, 22 Octobre 2023

The hotel itself is not bad, clean and comfortable, however the car park is a logistical nightmare ! After booking out the receptionist casually said if you need help to get out of the parking area just let me know. Famous last words ! I was told previously that my car a Toyota RAV4 would fit in and out, true to a point. Getting in was easy, getting out involved three other hotel guests moving their cars around in a very very tight space to get any of us out, then I hit the concrete pillar which will result in a very costly replacement of a side door. The whole “ getting out of the parking space” took 45 minutes or more. The three others drivers were horrified as well. I've called the hotel directly to tell them I was issuing this review. The only cars that should have access would be nothing bigger that a mini , a disappointing end to a family getaway.

"Great location!"
minnboulder, 27 Septembre 2023

To be fair, my sister and I only stayed for one night. So we didn't use all of the amenities provided by the hotel. Check-in was fast. Wifi was good. The room was clean though old. Beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. I really liked it that there were 3 sets of towels, precisely as the number of guests. In the future, the hotel might invest a little in more modern furnishings (table, chairs, etc). Location was great! Restaurants and supermarket are nearby. Very close to Hyde Park.

"Nice location and great value"
113alin, 18 Septembre 2023

Excellent spacious room, great location, nice kitchen area, great price. A few steps are required for access, which slightly hampers those with strollers. Access from Museum is excellent (rather than Central which requires an uphill walk). There is an attached restaurant which offers decent breakfast.

"Close but quiet"
OzTourists, 29 Août 2023

We stayed at this hotel on a weekend Close to everything Transport restaurants Hyde Park and the museum and library really enjoyed our stay as the night noise was non existent due to the double glazing

"3rd or 4th time staying here and will again! "
Radford S, 05 Août 2023

STILL a great place to stay in the CBD area. I have stayed in this hotel since it was branded a Best Western...years ago. My room this time had some kitchen basics which made it perfect. The cafe in the lobby is really nice. Plus, it is very close to a bunch of other cafes/restaurants. It really is all about the location.... just perfect for CBD (central business district - downtown), 20 minute walk to Circular Quay, 12 to Central rail Station, sits on Oxford Street and the park.... Oh and 1.5 blocks to Museum Station (which is on the train line from the airport!!). And I was doing the 3 day trip to South Australia...they held my big luggage so I could just take a duffle!! GREAT service!!

"Perfect stay!"
louloumack26, 27 Juin 2023

I've stayed at many hotels of this level over the past 2 years and this is by far the best. The hotel room was clean, comfortable and quiet. As a business traveller that is all you want. As a bonus, I had a room with a kitchenette which made it easy and the breakfast downstairs was convenient and very reasonable. I will definitely stay here again!

"Nice, centrally located hotel."
umadeepak, 13 Juin 2023

Name of hotel "Stellar" is correct - large room with large shower room with no slip flooring. Excellent location 5 minutes walk to Museum metro, and 10 minutes to Sydney Central Train station. 25 minutes walk to Opera House.

"Frequent Traveler"
4tevita802, 07 Juin 2023

“During my stay at this small and cosy motel, I found the lack of facilities a bit disappointing. However, what truly made up for it was the exceptional customer service I received. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. Their friendly and accommodating nature made me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. Despite the limited amenities, I left with a positive impression thanks to the outstanding service. If you're looking for a place where exceptional customer service takes precedence over fancy facilities, this motel is the perfect choice.”

"Will definitely stay again, highly recommend"
Bobbiwithani, 18 Mai 2023

We highly rated our stay: Really comfy bed Spacious rooms Clean, spotlessly clean No noise. We have stated in some really fancy hotels and they were horribly noisy but our room was so quiet. There was no street noise, no elevator noise, no noise from above/below/beside our room. Affordable. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. Parking is available but minimal. The parking is tight but the staff are extremely skilled at assisting guests to park with ease.

"Ok but not great"
BogtrotterBelfast, 04 Avril 2023

Stayed here for less than one night as had to leave at 2 am to get flight. Room was nice and modern with good facilities but there was some noise from the street. Staff very helpful. Location was handy for park etc but not the greatest area….noisy bars etc and a little run down in my opinion. First impressions were bad. Any hotel that has to lock the bathroom on the ground floor so that you need a key from reception to use indicates they have problems. Overall a 3 star hotel.

"2 bedroom apartment"
lmskillin, 19 Janvier 2023

The 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for our group of 6. The hotel contacted me before our stay to arrange bedding configuration. The room was modern and clean with plenty of space. The kitchen with large fridge was a bonus.

"Lovely stay"
Coastal569353, 10 Janvier 2023

The room was an easy distance walking through the beautiful park to get to the city. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Staff were lovely, helpful and polite. Getting back to the airport super easy as Museum station very close. Good price and would come again.

"Perfect City Location"
Wanda-Ivy, 08 Janvier 2023

This is a small and intimate hotel located within walking distance of anything you would like to do in the city. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Price was great too.

"Nice one"
stevewarwick86, 05 Décembre 2022

I very much liked the location close to museum station short walk when I walked in reception was a bit plain but then got to room wow it was very good near Oxford street shops enjoyed my stay although it was a little expensive good hotel I did like the toasted sandwich maker too a nice surprise to be able to make a ham and cheese toasty

"Best Western Hotel Stellar"
Margaret C, 02 Décembre 2022

What a fabulous hotel this is. Close to most things in the city. The staff are extremely helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and more than comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

"Great Space, Great Location"
03nmmw6e245mgc902022, 18 Novembre 2022

Huge room, very clean, bed very comfortable, room has plenty of amenities, huge shower, was good not to be confined to one small space like a normal hotel room, location and access were also great, would definitely stay again

"Great Location"
lisabD274LJ, 07 Novembre 2022

Excellent location with Hyde park just over the road. The main streets to the city are all only a 2min walk away. Handy to supermarkets & heaps of food eateries. Restaurant downstairs although we did'nt eat there. Our room was a really good size.

"So friendly, safe, well located, and has washer and dryer"
Dollarwise, 04 Novembre 2022

Great place in Sydney, close to all and take the train from airport, off at Museum stop, 2 block walk. Staff was great, shared info on what to do and where to go at night. Easy walking town with a big room.

"Excellent stat"
James W, 30 Octobre 2022

Had an excellent stay here. Clean and tidy and perfect to explore Sydney. Very friendly staff. I travel a lot and this was exactly as I'd expect from best western. Food was just right and overall really good value for money

"Friendly, comfortable, great price. "
Tammy R, 23 Octobre 2022

We had made an incorrect booking one night short at another hotel on the same street who were trying to charge us a phenomenal amount to extend our stay by one night. We just needed one night stay before flying home. This hotel was ever so gracious in taking us in at short notice and with a very reasonable overnight rate. We had to evict the other building at 10am and Best Western Stella allowed us to check straight into their available room which was a life saver so we weren't out on the streets with suitcases for 4 hours. Room 504 was exceptional! Clean and sanitary yet homely and comfortable. All decor very functional and tasteful. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept soundly with no back complaints which we do get in bad beds. The kitchenette was perfectly set up with all your needs met including a toasted sandwich press, very handy. The only thing it was lacking was a cutting knife and ice cube tray. The location is perfect being close to the gorgeous Hyde Park and walking distance to the best shopping precinct at QVB and Westfield. Loads of cafes, bars, supermarkets, bottle shops etc close by, and public transport and taxis are readily available. The in-house restaurant had a really generously priced menu and breakfast deals, we didn't use them as we had to leave early but would have loved to take advantage had we stayed longer. The staff who checked us in were lovely gentlemen. One was in training and I can tell he will be a wonderful new addition to the business as his presence and demeanor were very genuine, friendly and helpful. I can't thank them enough for catering to our need to check in early (this did come with a small fee that we were happy to cover). They helped us getting a taxi on our way out and with our cumbersome luggage, bless em! I have only praise for the whole stay here: staff, location, price, facilities, cleanliness, decor, comfort, and provisions. Highly recommend to any couples wanting to stay near the Sydney City Centre.

"Great place for a family"
jezza0202, 16 Octobre 2022

We stayed in the Apartment suite with 3 kids. The size was amazing for our 5 day stay and the hotel is well situated and central. Staff were always friendly and helpful. We had a hot water issue but staff couldn't have been happier to help us resolve the issue. Highly recommend

"Great Location"
farrahp76, 04 Octobre 2022

Close to cruise terminal at Circle Quay & Close to public transportation - Bus stop around the corner and train station down the street. Also an ALDI around the corner is very convenient. Easy walk to Chinatown and Paddy Market is a must !!

"short stay but good stay"
Debrafyfe60, 26 Septembre 2022

Only stayed 3 nights but was very clean, tidy and had everything we needed. staff were all great, very friendly and helpful. i give it a 5 as its in an awesome spot, close to the trains, right on Hyde Park and shopping is in any direction you got when leaving the hotel. very happy with the hotel for the money spent.

"Perfectly Adequate & Well Located"
Austin-Powers63, 09 Septembre 2022

Fairly nice hotel. Nothing spectacular but well priced and very well located. Front desk staff were efficient and professional. Front door requires card access after 7pm. This hotel is an old building so think large rooms and high ceilings. The rooms are very clean and comfortably furnished with the usual amenities and accompaniments expected of a mid range hotel in the Sydney CBD. AC was a split system located high on the external wall rather than the usual hotel ducted system and seemed to do it's job ok. Bed was large and comfortable. Shower pressure and temp all good. The only small detraction was the thinness of the walls. Noise intruded from neighbouring rooms and there was also noise from the room above. A bit of street noise intrudes but not unacceptable by any means Overall a fairly decent choice especially if booked at a competitive price. The hotel is well located very close to Museum train station and within reasonable walking distance to the Rocks and Darling Harbour etc with plenty of good dining options and hotels nearby in Surry Hills.

"I had a great stay here and have no complaints at all"
d35-trips, 05 Septembre 2022

It was close to the train (a few minutes walk from Museum station) and a comfortable walking distance to the hustle and bustle of George Street. Although if checking in late at night, be aware there are not very many food options nearby still open besides a 7-Eleven. The room I stayed in was a little bit tired, but it was tidy and even had a little kitchen area. I was glad they still had a DVD player in the room because I used it to listen to a CD I bought. The staff at the front desk were very helpful throughout my stay.

"Better than expected"
chloe252018, 04 Septembre 2022

We booked this accommodation as it was affordable and conveniently located and weren't really expecting much but it was actually great. Clean, comfortable and convenient with helpful friendly staff. Just as good as other accommodation that costs far more. Would stay again :)

"Better than expected from a Best Western hotel."
Pajar, 29 Juillet 2022

Pleasantly surprised with size and quality of room, in a very convenient location for central Sydney. Only a single night stay but would happily stay again on my next trip - which can't be said for the three places I stayed the previous week in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

"Ver well equipped, aesthetic and clean apartments."
unbiasedreviews2022, 25 Juillet 2022

Checkin could have been faster with more friendliness and confidence from staff member. Very comfortable stay. Perfect for our overnight stay whilst attending an event. I go slide under door during stay if services available would have been best given at check in not hours after check in. Very very clean and comfortable. Amazing linen for quilt cover so comfy and soft. Only complaint room had 3 chairs instead of four (4 guests booked). One of very few hotels that proceed 4 face washers on total 1 for every guest. Very impressed and happy.

"Fabulous Three bedroom apartment"
angelafM4492OU, 22 Juin 2022

We had a fantastic 3 night stay here in the 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was absolutely fabulous. Huge , modern and extremely comfortable. Such a great Hotel . Close to Hyde Park, shopping and train stations . Not fancy on the outside but superb on the inside . We will be staying here on our next trip to Sydney

"Excellent place to stay in the city"
Spinnertoo, 13 Juin 2022

Spacious, clean comfortable Studio room with separate bathroom/shower. Great location, close to good cheap food 5 mins walk, close to trains, buses. Very friendly staff and good cafe downstairs. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the centre oo town.

"Good Value with Great Hospitality"
YTRex, 10 Juin 2022

We booked a Twin Studio (two large beds) for 3 persons for 3 nights. Room is clean and of good size and layout, with a small kitchenette and dining table. Check in was a breeze and we were given a room on level 6, the top floor which is quiet. Staff were pleasant and make us feel very welcome, with their ready smile and prompt assistance. We had some issue with payment for transfer from hotel to airport and Michael and his team were most patient in helping us sort things out. Hotel is about half an hour walk to Sydney Opera House which was ok for us. In May, the weather was cold and windy, which makes walking easy and pleasant without breaking into a sweat. In fact, we did not take any public transport in Sydney City and walked from Hotel to Circular Quay/The Rocks, Surry Hills, Haymarket/Chinatown and Darlington.

"Hotel Stellar is the best!"
mcristycalderon, 25 Mai 2022

Our stay at Hotel Stellar was amazing! They exceeded our expectations and all of the services were excellent. I have never been in a hotel were all services performed well. I think when all teams perform well, we get to experience high quality services. Good job Hotel Stellar!

"Always wonderful!"
kjbaldwin66, 25 Mai 2022

The team at Hotel Stellar are friendly and I always receive a warm welcome back. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Beds are amazing and lovely fluffy pillows. Can catch a train from the Airport to Museum station which is only 4 stations, getting out on Liverpool Street with a short 5 min walk to Hotel Stellar. Eateries all within walking distance and an easy walk through Hyde Park into city centre. Love the location!

"Amazing staff, super convenient location, value for money"
Trip40636913292, 12 Mai 2022

My family came to visit and I booked the 3 bedroom apartment for them. The apartment is better in person than in pictures. It was spacious, clean and perfect for the whole family. Customer service was top-notch. Super friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location is good too. Would definitely recommend this hotel to visitors.

"Forgot my bag, retrieved the same week!"
miggelz, 03 Mai 2022

I have spent a couple of days in the heart of Sydney CBD. After my stay in the city, i drove back to Canberra to realize i have left my bag in the hotel! Called them and confirmed that my bag is there. Hotel staff didn't hesitate at all to help me out with my concern. 5/5 would come back here again! Good room experience and good customer experience.

"March 22 stay"
MoiraN62, 31 Mars 2022

This lovely hotel has an unassuming frontage but the rooms are lovely and the staff particularly helpful.Accommodation rates are very reasonable and the small lounge is welcoming and the attached cafe has an excellent breakfast menu

"Perfect Spot in the City"
Wanda-Ivy, 09 Janvier 2022

We spent a few nights at the Hotel Stellar which is centrally located in Sydney on the southern side of Hyde Park. Though only a small hotel, we found it to be extremely comfortable and the refurbished rooms are well done and provide every comfort needed (apart from a bath ;-). The staff were always friendly and helpful, and we will definitely be using this hotel for future stays in the city.

"Appearances are deciving"
MoiraN62, 25 Avril 2021

Hotel Stellar is an unassuming hotel in the heart of Sydney CBD, From the outside you would not give it a second thought. However, the rooms are lovely: spacious, modern, well set up with kitchenettes, double glazing and the most comfortable beds. Staff couldn't be more welcoming, helpful and courteous and the little cafe/bar has great breakfast and a small lounge for evening drinks.

"Excellent Customer Service"
RosEmmaKate, 24 Avril 2021

Enjoyed my stay here. All encounters with staff were excellent and they were very friendly to deal with. The adjoining cafe was also great with nice staff and nice coffee and food. Rooms were very clean and the hotel was very Covid safe. I will definitely stay again when I am in Sydney for work.

"Great staff, convenient location and excellent rooms."
achong93, 07 Avril 2021

Due to personal reasons i was forced to leave my home and the team at Hotel Stellar were very understanding and accommodating. Regardless, the level of service and comfort was perfect for me. Each member of staff i encountered were always helpful and bright.

"Superb service at a great price"
FFAF, 02 Mars 2021

The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The hotel is located very close to the city, cafes and restaurants. However, it is the service that stands this hotel apart from the others. Nothing is too much trouble.

"Clean and comfy but awful air-conditioning"
Sydtraveller2021, 08 Février 2021

Good comfy and clean hotel but the air-conditioning is on a timer that turns off every 4 hours and you have to press the timer to start it again, so I woke up early in the morning to a stuffy room and had to restart the aircon timer...

"Stay here"
petermildren, 04 Janvier 2021

Very happy with the staff while checkin and checkout was quick and easy, and the room was clean and fresh with super nice comfy bed , the breakfast is very tasty and well priced and the service was top notch,

"Great hotel Terrible breakfast"
NVHCAH, 20 Novembre 2020

Really fantastic service, great room but very poor breakfast. Suggest don't pre-order or pre-pay. Order à la carte for a cheaper cooked meal. Room was spotless, view was great, staff were very friendly and helpful.

"Great for big family"
Lowell-Fin, 11 Septembre 2020

We stayed here for a family trip in Australia. We booked a very large suite with 3 bedroooms and with two floors. the kitchen is very big. It is close to coles supermarket and a mall. With that we can buy foods and cook it in our kitchen. the rooms are clean and modern.

"Great value in the city"
Darren N, 07 Juillet 2020

Central location, next to Oxford Street and walking distance from Central Station. Clean and quiet accomodation in the heart of the city. Great value and service. A handy find and very reasonable rate.

"Wonderful Hotel!"
Pam105, 01 Juillet 2020

We stayed in a large room with a half kitchen while visiting the city of Sydney. It may not appear elegant on the outside but the hotel room was spacious and clean. The staff were all friendly. The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was good. And the price was right for the 5 nights we stayed there. An added bonus was the self served laundry room to wash your clothes for a small fee. We were on an upper floor and had a great window view of Hyde Park and could see St. Mary's Cathedral in the distance. The location was perfect for our needs because the grocery was around the corner and the Metro Station was a couple of blocks away (about a 5-7 minute walk). The Metro will transport you to all the major tourist stops, including Circular Quay and the Airport. But transportation around NSW is another review. This hotel had the best customer service. As we entered the small hotel lobby and was waiting to check in, I overheard the plight of a visitor who missed his reservation window and wanted a room. The receptionist, Felicia, was patient and acted professional during the entire time the visitor became irate telling him that the hotel was fully booked for the night. I was quite impressed how she managed to control the uncomfortable situation. The hotel manager finally came over to help out so she could check us into our room. I highly recommend this hotel and if I return to Sydney, I would stay there without hesitation.

"Nice hotel"
Trail794165, 28 Mars 2020

Room was very nice. Staff was quite helpful. The small hotel is centrally located. Grocery store just around the corner. Would definitely stay there again. The only criticism is that the onsite "restaurant" left a lot to be desired. But there are plenty of eateries within easy walking distance.

"One night in Sydney"
menzelchrBerlin, 12 Mars 2020

Great hotel with fair price and well located. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The next metro station is only a 5 min. walk or you can even walk to Circular Quay in about half an hour. The room was fully equipped and spacious.

"Great stay"
TyroneV1, 10 Mars 2020

I had a great stay at Hotel Stellar. The staff was very nice. There were no issues with my room. Convenient to have the cafe right there off the lobby. Great location near Hyde Park and transit. Oxford Street starts in the corner which is very lgbt friendly. No complaints here

"Fabulous discovery in heart of Sydney"
Blincs88, 08 Mars 2020

We stayed here for three nights and it couldn't have been better. Perfect location, central, easy to walk in and out of the City and to other local areas. Our room was large and very comfortable. Super queen sized bed with luxurious linen; large bathroom with an excellent shower and enormous fluffy bath towels. Divine. It's the little things that make a stay away from home more comfortable and that's a comfortable bed, good linen, good bathroom and shower and toiletries/towels that are also good quality. This was more than we expected for our stay. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff as well.

"Basically nice"
705pamelap, 25 Février 2020

Room was nice. Full kitchen but didn't use. Bed was comfortable, towels were large bath sheets and the shower amazing. Convenient to many places. The lobby and outside could be improved to entice one to stay here.

"Great value for money"
louise_cady, 19 Février 2020

The staff were amazing - so helpful and cheerful. The room was large and clean, the location was handy being close to both Central and Museum stations, as well as the CBD and Oxford street. We were only there for a night as we were attending a concert and it was perfect for our needs.

"Hotel vex"
Honesty786, 15 Février 2020

Staff were very courteous and efficient. Hotel situated in a very convenient and central position. Only drawback was that we sighted a few cockroaches on our first day. Other that that, it was a pleasant stay.

"Spacious room handy to city"
StuEva, 12 Février 2020

A great place for business trips. Near city and public transport. Easy walk to Central Station or to sites of inner city. Cafe downstairs for breakfast. Kitchenette equipped with microwave and a sandwich toaster.

"Many good things but one major flaw"
Bnlf, 01 Février 2020

I'm not going to talk about any of the good things about this hotel because there is simply one problem that overshadows everything else. Your Air-con will be turned off every 6h. This is the hotel policy and you can see people complaining about this for over 5 years now without a change. Now, can you imagine Sydney in summer without able to open your window and the temperature reaching 30c at midnight and your air-con simply shutdown? yea, thats right...They basically force you get off bed in the middle of the night to turn the switch back on (remote control donesn't even work!!), reseting the timer for another 6h. Try going to bed at 10pm exausthed just to wake up every day 4am sweating because the room is too hot... Will never come back even if they change the policy.

"Overall a good stay!"
Bruna D, 01 Février 2020

Pros: great location, comfort pillow, bathroom amenities, functional kitchen, natural light, giant and super soft bathroom towels Cons: a/c turns off every 6h, meaning you will wake up in the middle of the night sweating to turn it on again, if you are sleeping with someone else on a same bed, expect to wake up due to the earthquake feeling when the other person moves around

"Fantastic location"
CazBurger88, 28 Janvier 2020

I chose this hotel based on location and price. It was the perfect choice. Room had kitchen facilities and was a good size. Location was excellent. Close to Sydney CBD and Oxford Street. Walking distance to top bars, restaurants, shopping and public transport. Staff were friendly and service adequate.

"Wonderful Stay in Sydney"
zimkim, 16 Janvier 2020

We stayed for 2 nights in a King room with large bath and kitchenette. We were able to store luggage upon early arrival from states. There is a powder room in lobby area to freshen up after long plane ride from U. S. We were upgraded from queen to king with a great view. Bed was very comfortable. We took advantage of the breakfast area on a rainy day our last morning there and took the $17 shuttle back to airport with desk clerks help. Room very clean. Workers very friendly. Elevator slow, but it works! We enjoyed our stay very much!

"Excellent"
JAMES_KIM_HK, 15 Janvier 2020

I stayed at Hotel Stellar for 10 days (Jan 4 ~ Jan 13) and it was really good. All staff are very kind and nice and the service was also very good. Room and cafeteria was clean and comfortable. Food was great.

"Cafe has increased prices by 30%"
FrequentOzTraveller, 11 Janvier 2020

I am a local and have had a weekend breakfast at this hotel's cafe at least once per weekend for the last 2+ years. Today I noticed a sign stating that there was a 'slight increase in cost as of 13 January due to not increasing prices for two years'. Well, today I was charged the new price of $8.50 for two poached eggs on toast instead of the previous $6.50. 30% increase. Not to mention the date is 11 January - before the stated date of increase. A 'standard' size of bacon or sausage has gone from $2.50 to $3.00 - a 20% increase - not a "small amount". The menu has not changed despite the sign saying the chef had "improved the menu". The only changes was the format of the menu - not the contents. Eggs benedict is eggs on a muffin with bacon/ham - but not at this cafe.

Adventurer423853, 08 Décembre 2019

This hotel came with a Tripmasters package. On arrival they have no signs up to tell you where to park or where to at least leave your car until you're able to check in. After having my husband hurriedly drop me off to go inside to ask the desk what to do he had to circle the block. When they finally said park in the alley to check in and unload. Then they tell him to park in some underground teeny parking garage as a courtesy but they charged us $30 a day to park.. $30 day, that's right that's what I said. The view was none. Just looked at the building next door brick wall. The “bar” and food was not temping in the least. Asked for bucket of ice every night which took about 30 minutes each time. Room service didn't come until 4 each day and at that time we were back in room after the days outtings and didn't want to be bothered. Would not come back.

"Excellent Experience"
ehernan777, 04 Décembre 2019

We totally recommend this hotel, is close to all the attractions & subway stations; they have a very friendly staff, clean rooms and excellent restaurant. Don't miss the coffee and breakfast, they are delicious (Benjamin is an excellent chef).

"Excellent hotel!"
PattyBrisbane, 02 Décembre 2019

The hotel doesn't look nice on the outside, but the inside is great, with all the comfort you need. Spacious and clean room, comfortable king bed, nice shower and a convenient kitchenette. The location is excellent: supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, train station and a park within walking distance. Although our room was overlooking the roadworks, we could sleep in quiet. Just perfect! Recommended!

"A very pleasing stay."
catherik2019, 27 Novembre 2019

Arriving at the Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar feeling very tired and short of breath due to health problems, I was both grateful and relieved to find that our room was ready, even though we were considerably early. Check-in was done quickly and professionally and our room was cool, sparkling clean and welcoming. The bed was soft and comfortable, the tea and coffee making facilities most appreciated and double-glazed windows ensured that the room was quiet and restful. The hotel excelled in all aspects and gave me two nights of delightful rest. It is conveniently located to both the CBD and to the Underground Railway, which goes from the airport to Circular Key, with The Hotel being a convenient stop-off on the way. Should I be so lucky as to get to Sydney again, I would certainly aim to stay at The hotel Stellar again. My gratitude to the management for a first class establishment.

"Value for money. Nicer on the inside"
Familyoffour30, 20 Novembre 2019

Room was great. Kichenette well stocked. An IGA and Aldi in walking distance. Close to Museum station, and the greenery of Hyde Park. Fcade of hotel looks a little 'on my goodness', but once inside the door, it's great.

"2* hotel deles cheap and dirty "
DlrowTraveler, 11 Novembre 2019

On arriving the road outside the hotel was being duh up so had to pull my 30kgbag up the road to the hotel which had steps to enter! The hotel is clearly an old office badly converted into a low quality hotel and it the prime reason Best Western should be avoided as they rate this as a "plus" because they have no consistency and it seems down to the local Best Western staff which hotels will be given that designation, I will leave to your imagination of how how this place was awarded it but it wasn't on its facilities or quality. I asked the staff to put me away form the roadworks outside which I just knew they were going to do and suprise that's what they did, a room overlooking the roadworks. Did I mention it was 12pm when I checked in and the roadworks were just starting! The guy on the reception offered me earplugs on check in! Seriously I said if I need them I will be back down and they will be refunding me. The room was large and badly designed, I fact it wasn't designed someone had just stuck a load of cheap furniture in it from the tiny double bed, the cheap nasty swamp green sofa to the stinky fridge. All of it was nasty and looked dirty and felt it with stains on the carpet, sticky desk and itchy cheap bedding. The light switches were randomly all over the place with no master switch. The kitchen light was the hardest to find as it was on a plug socket! The place was thrown together by someone who has never visited a hotel in their lives. Now all of this was not acceptable but tolerable but wasn't and was something I have never found in a hotel in the world was the lack of any lock on the room.door. no was at all to ensure someone else couldn't open it in error. No lock button for the electric lock and no security chain. This is unacceptable and therefore due to the lack of room security which I have never experienced before I have to rate them to so low.

"Location, Value and Friendly Staff"
E2848PZelizabetht, 03 Novembre 2019

My husband and I stayed 2 nights. Big room with kitchen, comfortable bed and staff so helpful and friendly. If you want an outlook rather than a wall, just ask when booking. We did just look at a wall, but I didn't expect much for $155 a night with a kitchen, so was so happy with a big room, king bed and kitchen.

"Affordable and convenient"
casawhit, 03 Novembre 2019

The hotel was across from Hyde Park. It was within walking distance( about one mile) of major attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Sydney Tower Eye, Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. Plenty of casual eating places within a two block range.

"Large Clean Room"
Seaside445886, 28 Octobre 2019

The room was large, with high ceilings and a very nice clean bathroom. We thought that the corridors and public areas were very bland. Neither the cafe nor the bar inspired us to eat or drink in-house. However, the staff are pleasant, helpful and welcoming and that's most important.

"Good hotel in good place"
alexzilberman19, 19 Octobre 2019

This hotel is very close to Anzac and underground (200 meter) . It has clean big rooms and small kitchen. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel cafe but went outside This hotel has also good price . It is not Rocks but you can go to main attractions by foot or two stations in underground .

"Girls Weekend"
Jane A, 12 Octobre 2019

Although I've stayed here on business and have loved it, I wasn't sure what my daughter would think of it as it's not a 'flashy' five star hotel. She raved about it as it's within walking distance of shops and restaurants; very good value for money (especially for Sydney); the room was large and exceptionally clean; and the staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. She said she would definitely stay there in future. It's good to know I made the right decision to stay there!

"Another visit to a great city."
David R, 06 Octobre 2019

Once again a great stay at this accomodation place my main stay with friends visiting my apartment were very impressed with the room, view and the cleaniness of it.Great bathroom useage awesome price compared to others in the city.I always regard this place as my second home when l come to sydney.

"Nice apartment "
Alwaysaway73, 02 Octobre 2019

The hotel is centrally located and easy access to CBD and other tourist attractions as well as museum station and central stations. The 2 bedroom apartment was well presented and clean with a daily towel change. The lounge area was quite dark as the bedrooms aren't the windows. The furniture is modern but the drawers and cupboards has lots of additional bedding and duvets stored which really should be removed as most drawers were full! The reception staff are very good and helpful. The hotel has limited services and no bar or restaurant as such! This wasn't a problem for us. Overall the apartment was clean and the location was good but attention to detail was a little lacking. Would stay again if in Sydney.

"Location is wonderful"
Carl E, 17 Septembre 2019

I first arrived about 6 hours before I could check in, but the staff let me drop my bag and do all the paperwork as my room was readied. I walked about 3kms to the waterfront to see the Opera house and the Harbour Bridge. The walk was light and easy. ANZAC Memorial is also just nearby. When I returned after lunch, my room was ready and I was happy with the size of the room, the microwave and frigo available, and how quiet the room was given the downtown location. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

"Value for money."
Paul G, 16 Septembre 2019

We had a pleasant visit of Sydney and great experience stay at the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was attended every day. The location of the hotel is very convenient and close to everything in the CBD area. Excellent overall.

"A good place for my first time to Sydney"
DeanM8013, 13 Septembre 2019

This place looked great when I booked online using booking.com. It's easy to get to when you catch the train in from Sydney Airport. You get off at the Museum stop and head up to the Liverpool Street exit. As you exit the station on to the main road, head left past the Anzac memorial and cross the road to your right. You can see it to your right but you'll need to cross the road again. Checking in was fast, simply and cheerful. I was given a studio apartment room on the 5th floor. The room was spacious, clean and perfect for a solo traveller. It had a king size and extremely comfortable bed (for my sleeping habits), a safe, couch, mini kitchenette, small dining table and decent sized toilet and shower (no bath). It does have an air con unit but I didnt have to use it. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was hot and had good pressure. I had a nice view that overlooked main street. The location meant I was a 10 min or so walk from Chinatown, a 3 min walk to the Museum train station, a series of markets and food places (recommend Mr Crackles which is a 10 min walk away for delicious crispy pork belly). Only a couple of things, one, I could hear people above me or outside my door. Two, the remote to the DVD player has some bad battery corrosion. Overall I was really happy with the room and my stay at this hotel. I would stay again.

"Not Fancy But Comfortable And Well Located Hotel"
Oldjack, 31 Août 2019

Stellar is a small boutique hotel which is well located essentially on the corner of Hyde Park that was well fitted out and provided a comfortable stay in Sydney. It is not five star but perfect for a short term stay.

"Old meets new"
lesliehaynes1322, 30 Août 2019

A wonderful oldstyle motel with a quality coffee/restaurant attached. Room was spacious and comfortable and considering I was on the first floor the traffic noise was at a very minimal level. I will stay here again.

"Great home away from home."
Jonathan M, 29 Août 2019

We choose this hotel based on price and location. It is close enough to downtown Sydney to walk but just outside to give you a neighborhood feel. There is a bus station a block away with multiple lines and well as a subway stop. The room was much larger than we expected and it had a kitchenette which was another selling point. It had a fridge, microwave, sink, and a griddle press. We loved this because it allowed us to cook dinner each night and save a lot of money on eating out. There is an Aldi and IGA within a block or two of the hotel. We were located in the sixth floor (7th if your North American) and we had no issue with street noise. The room did not have a tub if that's a breaking point for you but it did have a large shower. It's an older hotel so there are some quirks . The elevator is very small and a little on the noisy side but runs just fine. There is not a ramp into the hotel so you have to go up a few steps outside and a couple more once you go through the door. If we ever return to Sydney we will most likely not look at another hotel because this hit all of our needs.

"Great Boutique Hotel in CBD"
Robert H, 27 Juillet 2019

Well located, friendly good services and well priced. Booked for business trip but very relaxing and welcoming. Small hotel that went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Parking was convenient and all of the staff were friendly and informative.

"Good value hotel in excellent central location"
John M, 20 Juillet 2019

The Hotel Stellar is ideal for tourists, as it has a good kitchenette in each of its spacious rooms. Right near the corner of Hyde Park in downtown Sydney, it is well-equipped and has friendly, helpful staff. If you are travelling on business, allow a little extra time to get to that appointment, as there is only one elevator and it is very slow, especially at peak periods. Tariff is reasonable, and it is handy to buses, trains, supermarket etc. There is no breakfast included, but a fun café in the building does a good job.

"Very Welcoming"
deanbB4038FH, 15 Juillet 2019

A great value, quality Hotel. Very central and quiet. Room was spotless and luxurious. Staff could not do enough, a nice change from other properties I have stayed in. Treat yourself to this hotel. Well done Stellar...

"Business trip to Sydney"
MLSTraveler82, 08 Juillet 2019

I stayed at the Best Western for 1 night. Very good location and staff very friendly. The room was fine and very clean. Many french people (staff, clients), so I felt at home. The only thing is that the place wasn't very well insulated against cold and wind (bathroom window).

"Worth it!"
Dream36536792253, 17 Juin 2019

The room is clean, so does the toilet! And it's very spacious too with kitchenette, couch and desk. It's in walking distance to train station nearby. But if you're going to stay here, please prepare 100dollar as an extra the security deposit. Which they will return it to you if the room is returned unharmed.

"BRILLIANT STAY"

"Good location, clean, large room"
zevmo, 10 Mai 2019

I looked at many options in Sydney before arrival, and found this one due to its location to Museum station (fast connection to the airport). This was a great choice. Bed was comfortable. It is a large room. Clean. Great shower (consistent temp). VERY quiet when keeping the bathroom door closed (window in there is thinner I assume so it can open for ventilation). TV great. Wifi speed is the only ding I would give, more for downloading streaming video or applications, streaming itself was fine. And lastly, the location has a variety of eating establishments within walking distance (the whole city is walkable), with the supermarket around the corner. Uber Eats delivers, which makes this point moot. Very happy with this choice for the price.

"Pleasant hotel in good location"
Gloryhornetboy08, 07 Mai 2019

Stayed for 4 nights after arriving in Sydney. Had nice quiet room with good shower with good quality toiletries, a toaster, fridge etc. Bed a bit hard. Room was not serviced until after 3 in afternoon, and one afternoon when we were in room they did not do it at all, no knock on door or anything! Hotel is in good location, out of town but near buses & trains to everywhere or can walk. Nice cafe on ground floor near reception where you can purchase a good value breakfast.

"Boutique Hotel"
Fearless67380491277, 04 Mai 2019

Great hotel, although in an old building the accommodation is quite modern. Lots of eateries within walking distance. The restaurant/Lounge is more cafe style, order at the counter, menu is limited but food was tasty beer was cold! Easy walk to the harbour, The Rocks and Opera House. I'll be staying here when in Sydney next trip.

"Super"

"Good hotel, great location, not great customer service"
bikershaz71, 02 Mai 2019

We stayed here for our holiday in Sydney. The hotel is in a great location as easy walking distance to everything and also the subway is nearby. The room is a good size. The cleanliness wasn't great. The bathroom had lots of hair when we arrived and was still there until the day before we left. There were lots of packets of biscuits in the cleaner's trolley but we only ever got it on the day we arrived. Maybe it's a one off, but they are only tiny. The day we arrived we had a letter put under our door advising of roadworks outside of the hotel. The roadworks involved cutting the road, which they would try to finish by midnight! The roadworks started about 6.00pm and finished at 5.00am for four days of our holiday. The person on reception we spoke to said they had only been advised of the roadworks the same day. I find this very difficult to believe as there were lots of roadworks and closure over Easter. We would not have stayed if we had been told of this in advance. The first night we got absolutely no sleep. We asked if we could be moved to another room but they could only offer the same room two floors up and noise carries so we decided against this. We said maybe you could offer us a coffee voucher for their coffee shop/café. They said they could not do this. We had breakfast at the café and it's great and really good value, so would highly recommend.

"Big room for stay in vacation"
jarkkitl, 24 Avril 2019

Check in checkout on time if you not member. I'm Daimond select they offer only ,12:00; in Asia max is 4✓pm the room clean but if you want to get birthday cake need to talk to much with the hotel team because they Dave cost more than hospitality member services

"Nice Sydney Hotel"
Steve M, 22 Avril 2019

Nice hotel in Sydney. It was quiet, clean, comfortable and convenient to public transportation. (It's just a short walk to the "underground train".) The only downside is that there aren't a lot of nice restaurants nearby. If you're on a budget, there is a nice grocery store (IGA) a short walk away,

"Great Stay"
Kev684, 21 Avril 2019

Rounded off our Australian honeymoon in Sydney at this great hotel. Friendly, seamless check-in and a lovely large room in this well placed hotel. Perfect for walking around the city (Although we did 'Uber' a fair bit due to the rainy weather) Would highly recommend this hotel.

"Glad we found good place to stay"
Lev740, 17 Avril 2019

My wife and I staid at the Hotel Stellar for four nights in April 2019. Read other reviews so had some ideas about the place. We came to the hotel at 9 am and met by a friendly receptionist Sabrina who put our luggage in the storage and gave us a heads-up of what to do on our first day in Sydney. Came back late and was surprised by the spacious studio type room on the third floor. Grocery store is just around the corner so we had our breakfast in room and started our days without wasting any time looking for breakfast. Other receptionists were as friendly and helpful to assist with the advice regarding places to visit. Hotel located practically across the street from the Hyde Park and it takes about 30 minutes walk to the Circular Quay. Hotel is really small- less than 40 rooms, so it could be sold out unless one makes reservations ahead of time. We paid $716 AUD and it is a bargain for what we experienced. Happy travels.

"Great Stay at Hotel Stellar"
Vegasonmymind, 16 Avril 2019

We used the Hotel Stellar as a stop over between cruises. Our stay was for 5 nights and we found it to be located very well in Sydney. The hotel is a five minute walk from the Museum train station, bus routes are nearby and plentiful, Chinatown is a short distance on foot, or easily accessible using the great mass transit in Sydney. Download the OPAL app and you can get around town almost as good as a local. The hotel was extremely comfortable. It is an older structure that has been modernized and remodeled. We had a large suite with a kitchenette that came in extremely handy. If we didn't feel like eating out there is an Aldi around the corner and an easy walk for essentials so we did not have to run out for breakfast each morning. There is also a cafe in the lobby of the hotel which makes great breakfasts and coffees. In all I would stay the the Hotel Stellar again if I decide to return to Sydney. I would recommend this hotel based on our comfortable stay. By the way, the staff is exemplary in customer service. They are quick to help with your luggage or with advice on getting around town.

"Great little hotel"
GARYANDSUE_12, 15 Avril 2019

We recently stayed at Hotel Stellar for 4 nights, and enjoyed our stay. It's a great little hotel that is good value for money. It's in a good location in Sydney. It has recently been modernised and renovated. It has everything a traveller needs, and is clean and comfortable . It was also quite quiet for it's location, and the staff on the desk were very helpful and friendly. Being a very old building, it doesn't have very large window's, so not a lot of city views, but the unit is well lite anyway. We will be staying there again for sure.

"Nice comfortable and affordable hotel near Hyde Park"
comfortabletravellin, 15 Avril 2019

Nice centrally located hotel near Hyde Park and easy walking to Darling Harbour and central downtown area. Walking distance to Australian Museum and close to #3 stop for the hop-on and hop-off line (both red and blue lines). Hotel room large and spacious and same with bathroom. Free WiFi with LCD TV, DVD player and little mini-kitchen and small fridge. Bed was nice and comfortable and plenty of cabinets and drawings to store clothing. Room came with electronic safe to lock up valuables.

"Stellar"
Seaside02730726722, 14 Avril 2019

The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were crispy. The large room was very clean as was the bathroom with beautiful smelling soap. Close to Hyde Park, Museum Station and Oxford St cafe's and restaurants.

"Good Hotel, Great location"
Karen S, 03 Avril 2019

The room was clean and very spacious. The room had a kitchenette with plenty of cupboard space and a few kitchen supplies. There was a guest laundry on our floor which included coin operated washing machine and dryer which was quite cheap. One slight downside was the one elevator which was a little slow, There were stairs into the front desk which meant lifting heavy suitcases. The location was great, there was a train station around the corner and we could walk down into China town and Darling Harbour. There was a supermarket around the corner and a few coffee shops.

"Good location but old property"
44beva, 31 Mars 2019

This hotel was scary looking from the outside and the lobby was small and disappointing. The elevator was the slowest I have ever seen and upon reaching each stop, it shivered and dropped, jarring everyone. However, the room was clean and spacious - although basic. The location, as others have said, was good. It was a bit of a walk to the Rocks, the bridge or the Opera House but definitely walkable.

"There Is NO 'Plus' to This Best Western"
Edward S, 16 Mars 2019

If you stay at most any BW Plus in the US, don't expect anything like it at the 'Hotel Stellar' in Sydney at 4 Wentworth Avenue. A hole in the wall entrance leads to steps you have to drag your luggage up to get into the 4' x 4' check-in area that smells musty and old. The steps extend past the check-in desk that may cause you to fall if you venture too far to the right to deal with the reception person. A stay of 3 nights at AU$522.03 in a queen 'studio' that resembled the dregs of an ancient Parisian knock down with a rusty tub and scarce hot water. We had to have housekeeping twice bring us clean towels/ washcloths over that short stay. The website advertised amenities includes a 'shuttle' (NONE) and restaurant (if you want to pay an arm and leg for any food). And don't look for the usual complementary breakfast...doesn't exist! Nor does the complementary 24/7 lobby/ breakfast area coffee pot. Our notes to management/ maintenance included the following: the upper hinge on the right hand window (weighed at least 25 pounds) was broken and in danger of falling on guests feet if they chose to open it; AC unit worked intermittently as did the hair dryer (short circuits?); the outer sliding glass window on the right hand window was stuck and did not open. In short, I DO NOT recommend this property at all.

"Great Location"
tatertots13, 14 Mars 2019

I stayed here for 3 nights on a first-time vacation to Sydney. I based my choice on location and other online recommendations. The hotel is simple but modern. Please be advised that there are a few stairs to climb up in order to get into the hotel. Upon check-in, I was asked to put a deposit of $100AUD down, which caught me off guard as I pre-paid for the room. I wasn't happy about having another card charge, but not a huge deal. The room was very spacious with high ceilings and a generous floor plan. The bathroom was clean and included the standard toiletries and large bath towels. Internet was superb and there was a kitchenette with a small amount of kitchen supplies. The elevator was a little slow and rickety, but it worked. Location of the hotel was perfect for me. It is near public transport but also close enough to the sights so I could walk. There are plenty of restaurants around and a liquor store + grocery store a couple blocks away. (Would ask for directions from the front desk as it's a bit hard to find) The only downside of this hotel is the doors are really loud when shutting. It's a small annoyance, but when people are coming and going early in the morning or late in the evening when you are sleeping, you will be woken up. The first few times it sounded like someone was coming into my room. Overall, would definitely recommend a stay here as a base for your day trips in Sydney.

"A comfortable hotel in a good location."
Tobinbronze, 05 Mars 2019

We had a comfortable room and good service in the Best Western Plus Stellar Hotel, which is in a convenient location, close to Hyde Park and within easy walking distance of the CBD. There are plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity. We dined at Harpoon Harry's (good for seafood) and a nice Japanese restaurant in a side street on the left-hand side of Oxford Street heading towards Kings Cross.

"Ideal"
normannorma1, 02 Mars 2019

For a week in Sydney this hotel could not have suited us better. You won't find a better location to enjoy everything the city has to offer whether by bus, metro or on foot. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean with a modern shower room. The queen suite with the kitchenette and sofa was a good size and gave us flexibility to grab breakfast and a couple of evening meal takeaways at our leisure. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. Thank you Hotel Stellar for a great week!

"Great location and good value for money"
davideman1, 28 Février 2019

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar on a short 3 day trip to Sydney. I chose the hotel for the combination of a super central location (just off Hyde Park on the Southeast corner) and good rate. The room was nice and clean, equipped with with a kitchenette which I didn't use but it was clean and functional. The rooms are spacious, service is good. It's not a fancy place but for my trip knowing I would spend very little time at the hotel apart from sleeping it was ideal. The location is fantastic for exploring Sydney on foot and just 2 minutes away from the Sydney Metro's Museum Station. 20 minutes to / from the airport and only two stations to Circular Quay which is a great spot for sightseeing and lots of activities. Note: the room was listed with a minibar but upon arrival it's just an empty fridge. You can order one of the minibar packages which are then stocked to the fridge. I didn't try the breakfast or other facilities at the hotel - therefore I unfortunately can't share any related experience. Overall it was a good experience and good value for money - given Sydney's rather high hotel rates this was a great choice and a clean, good pick with a fantastic location...

"Great Location"
ilanastone, 28 Février 2019

We were really happy with the room at the Best Western. It is very central for the CBD. The room was well equipped with kitchen & earring area. It was spotless. There were also amenities very close by. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

"A comfortable stay"
Vacation48146620306, 24 Février 2019

On both arrival and check out we received fantastic customer service, central location, rate was fair however have stayed in much nicer rooms in other hotels for the exact same cost or cheaper using booking.com

"Great location in Sydney"
Eunice B, 21 Février 2019

A very small and older hotel but has a great location in Sydney, You can get to all the places of interest easy from here either by foot or a short cab ride. Has a small café where you can get a bite to eat, not at all fancy . Good for coffee or lunch. It's an older hotel therefore the rooms are not large or great but are comfortable. This hotel is good for one or two nights before you take off to go to other parts of the country, not for staying at for a long period of time. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. I would stay here again.

"Decent "
Dtcars, 15 Février 2019

We stayed here our last night before leaving back home to the states. This place was arranged by our travel agent. We were disappointed that there wasn't a shuttle service to/from the airport. The location is good because it's downtown and close to Hyde Park. Reception was pleasant and helpful. I wish I we could say the whole room was spotless but the bathroom could've been cleaner. There weren't any directions to turn on the A/C on the remote that was visible. We eventually found the on switch behind the window curtain. The room itself was spacious enough with a little kitchenette, loveseat and eating area. I am taking in to consideration that this is an older/smaller hotel and most of our stay was decent though.

"Glad it was Free"
GrantRum, 04 Février 2019

Hotel Stellar doesn't live up to its name. First off, there are stairs at the front door so you have to drag your bags up the steps to reception. The staff was super, we forgot our Nalgene bottle at the front desk and when I called down the gentleman rain it up to us immediately. The whole place smells funny. Some foul air freshener. The building is quite old, but lacks any charm. The single elevator is old and rough on the starts, stops and the door doesn't sense your presence until it's had its way with you. The room was large and had a kitchenette that included a good sized fridge and microwave along with a basic table and chairs for three. The air conditioning was effective, however it's secret switch is something out of an escape room. It is also on a timer so sometime in the night we found ourselves getting toasty under the covers. The decor is as bland as I've ever seen. The bathroom was good with heat lamps and a large shower with lots of hot water and water pressure. The bed was fine. Pillows are a little thin, but I slept ok. Overall it was average. The area is good, nice and central, a very short walk to transit, restaurants and food & liquor stores. If I'd paid for the room, I'd wish I'd have spent the money elsewhere, however I used travel points so whatever.

"Fantastic rooms, great location, caring staff. Definite return visit."
Sandwich426, 22 Janvier 2019

My wife and I and our four young children had a chance to get away for a few days and chose to visit Sydney. We have been living in Australia for about 7 months now (Canadians originally) and have come to appreciate how rare it is to find reasonable accommodation for a family of six. With respect to hotels, I used to travel extensively for work and have lived in many for up to 90 nights a year. While they tend to blur together these days (like a recent stay at The Star Gold Coast), this particular establishment succeeded in setting itself apart as something special. Our evening arrival was delayed a few hours by our airline, but after taking the train from the airport to nearby Museum Station (5 minute walk) we arrived. The staff were expecting us and took the time to show us around the unique layout of the place, including the most convenient way to get to our room. Shortly afterward, and closing in on 10pm on a Wednesday, they helped me find a nearby place to eat (in fact, the lady at the front desk actually came outside and found me a half-block away after I made a wrong turn in my search for pizza). Sydney itself exceeded all of our expectations, and while we spent the majority of our stay wandering the CBD and riding ferries, busses and trains, the room provided an excellent home base and place to wind down and recharge. There was more than enough space in the two bedroom (very comfortable mattresses) suite we had, including two full bathrooms (both with large, dual head showers) and a central living area with a full kitchen and additional sleeping area (for the kids). Wifi worked well, and we loved having Nickelodeon on the television for the kids. Hotel Stellar absolutely gets our full recommendation - so much so that we even attempted to book another stay in late February during our last night there (unfortunately sold out on the dates we were looking at, but I'll keep a close eye out).

"Not recommended for family stay"
LCYLCY, 16 Janvier 2019

We was travelled with 2 adults and 2 kids. Booked 2 Queen size bed with kitchen ✅Staffs are very nice & friendly ❌Not really recommended if you are travelling with kids as the hotel is surrounded by bars. ❌ We heard people shouting & noises out from our window early in the morning ❌ The room we checked in was very small. ❌Very slow & old elevator

"Very central location"
T4734TUdonnab, 17 Décembre 2018

Our recent travel to Sydney allowed us to stay at the Best Western Hotel Stellar. We were very pleased with our stay there. The room very very clean and well-appointed. The biggest drawback was the slow elevator service. The hotel was conveniently located close to the city bus service or within walking distance to a lot of the local attractions. There was a grocery store close by. The area lacked good eating places for dinner.

"Great Option"
Shannon B, 16 Décembre 2018

My husband and I, who are 28, came to Sydney looking for a central, clean, and welcoming place to stay. This hotel filled all of our expectations. Clean bathrooms are super important to me, and this hotel did a great job of that. The air conditioning unit worked well and cooled down the room quickly, but it did shut off after a little while. The location was amazing! We were able to walk pretty much anywhere in the city without a problem- Darling Harbor, Circular Quay, The Rocks district, awesome restaurants, and more. Definitely recommend.

"Super Clean"
Seaside31230131391, 14 Décembre 2018

Only one night stay. Super clean room. Caring staff. Was able to check in at 10:00 am. Wifi fast. Hotel was quite. Central location downtown. One block to the trains for access to airport, city and central station.

"Great location"
boeing727qc, 11 Décembre 2018

Nice clean spacious room with kitchen facilities and a large ensuite bathroom. Located at the top of hyde park with buses going by all the time into and out if the CBD . Older style building but with double glazing while cut the noise. Mini- supermarket close and there is a small coffee shop and cafe downstairs.

"Clean, Basic"
SherylFrame, 11 Décembre 2018

Booked through booking.com - rate was AUD 238 which was high My face fell when I saw the hotel and the location - a little out of the main area and somewhat sleazy at night, with doors being locked from 7pm Room itself was spartan but clean and functional. Hotel debited a holding amount of $100 to my credit card for incidentals which they said would take 5 to 7 days to be reimbursed - why, when the debit was instant? This doesn't happen at other hotels! Would I stay here again? I doubt it

"Very Comfortable!"
Faye H, 18 Novembre 2018

We took a taxi from the airport to this hotel. ($55 AUD). The hotel staff at reception was consistently helpful, friendly and polite. There were some warming lights in the bathroom and I thought this was a nice touch. This room had a kitchenette. Breakfast was provided at this hotel. This hotel is within walking distance to Hyde Park, The Royal Botanical Gardens, George Street (main shopping area) and Paddy Market. We even walked to the Opera House and the Harbor. There were many restaurants in the area. We used the AirBus to return to the airport (headed to New Zealand). The driver was on time. The cost was $16 AUD per person. All luggage was in a small pull along trailer attached to the van. The front desk made the arrangements for the airport transfer and we paid them. I enjoyed my stay here.

"Light filled room, great bed"
Natalie R, 14 Novembre 2018

Traveling to Sydney rather often I'm always after a cheaper but nice room for my one night stays. This hotel doesn't look grand from the outside but impressed from the moment I walked in. The concierge was friendly and efficient, the room had a small kitchenette and the bathroom had enough space in the shower (given I'm 5'6" and 110pounds that may not be the case for everyone). The king bed was just the right type of soft, cozy rather than saggy, and coming from up north the two large windows in the room were great for light. Double glazed windows kept the noise from the street out. Will definitely stay again. That's Best Western.

"Great position and very helpful staff."
Adventurer525327, 06 Novembre 2018

Room was very well equiped, clean, comfortable and peaceful. Only challenge was the very slow lift. We were hosting American friends and were able to walk to all the tourist spots as well as having access to any number of good restaurants. Being a Monday night the options were reduced due to many not open.

"Convenient Location"
WombatJo, 28 Octobre 2018

The Hotel Stellar is within walking distance of both the centre of Sydney and Kings Cross. Our room was clean and comfortable and surprising quiet for the central location and Sydney's traffic. The exterior is unassuming but once you come inside it is quite appealing. The lift takes some getting used to as it lurches at each stop and can be a bit scary, but don't let this put you off.

"Lovely Hotel but not disabled friendly"
Werodeacamel, 27 Octobre 2018

Staff very friendly and they tried to get us in before 2 pm.Although not disabled ready staff did help with scooter up and down stairs. However this was a nuissance for all concerned and should be addressed

"Cozy Hotel in Convenient Sydney Location"
LindseyF226, 15 Octobre 2018

I stayed at the hotel with colleagues for 1 week during a business trip. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the office, across from a park and in a trendy neighborhood with good restaurants and nightlife. There was also a train stop nearby, as well as the central station nearby. We were able to walk to both stations and went on a day trip by train outside of Sydney conveniently from the hotel. We also had coffee in the hotel every morning which was both excellent and a great price. Highly recommend the hotel, location, comfort and staff.

"Excellent Hotel and Surperb Staff"
Rzcruzes, 14 Octobre 2018

This was our first visit to Sydney and we had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Stellar Hotel. Very nice location with places to eat, shop and close walk to the train. Nice park close by and easy access for cabs to drop off or pick us up. The bar was nicely stocked with most anything you might desire. The Café was a very nice surprise, the food was excellent and the staff was wonderful. The best coffee and cappuccino ever. I preferred it over the Starbucks that was a short walk from there (I am a die-hard SB fan) just as the waitress predicted! I plan a return visit to Sydney again next year and will most certainly stay here again! The rooms were very nice! We had a wet bar with small refrig, and coffee press & toaster. It was more than we were expecting! Easy access to the lift. The staff were very helpful in advising us on transportation, attractions and arranging transport for us to the cruise port.

"Good Stay"
Alimar007, 08 Octobre 2018

We stayed at this hotel twice during our 3 week visit. The desk staff was friendly. Rooms are clean with coffee, hair dryer, iron and iron board. The WiFi is included and is good. There are pubs and breakfast places nearby. After our first stay we requested a room off the street because it was a little noisy. You can eat breakfast on site but we did not.

"Comfortable Stay"
mrsincranny, 03 Octobre 2018

This hotel is conveniently located a short walk to Museum station and Hyde Park. The room has a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge which gives a guest the ability to have breakfast provisions on hand or even cook a basic meal in the microwave and there is an IGA supermarket just around the corner on Oxford Street. The bed was comfortable and the hot water supply was more than adequate. The staff were friendly and the room rate was reasonable although the $100 pre authorization on the credit card is a little over the top when there is no mini bar in the room. Watch out for the lift though, it bounces hard when it arrives at a floor.

"Very good location and value"
Eric B, 30 Septembre 2018

The hotel is located half a block from Hyde Park. The rooms (even the "studio") are sizeable and comfortable. I didn't use the kitchen or kitchen-related amenities, but it seemed like it was well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The restaurant is open just a few hours a day (so it seemed). But there are restaurants nearby to choose from.

"best hotel"
cfinre263379, 24 Septembre 2018

the service was good, room was clean, big room and staff so friendly ! this hotel so close to museum station, st. mary's cathedral, etc so no need to take a taxi. best place ever ! we will come back for sure !

"Great location "
wendycK5279ZE, 16 Septembre 2018

Staying at this hotel while on holiday in Sydney. Although I had some reservations when our taxi pulled up at the kerbside, I need not have worried. The hotel gave us all we needed and is well located, near to Hyde park, shops, restaurants and transport links. Because rooms have a small kitchenette attached we were able to have breakfast as self catering and could make our own picnic lunches to take out each day, saving money for other activities.

"A few days overcoming jet lag before moving on from Sydney."
johnfdmchugh, 09 Septembre 2018

Excellent small hotel, just what we wanted. Rooms were a good size and very well cleaned. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage room. People were very friendly, polite and helpful. Good advice given from Sabrina in Reception about places to visit in our short time there. Restaurant/cafe was quite sparse but very good, we had breakfast there three mornings. The only downside was that the elevator (Lift to some) did not work properly. It had a mind of its own and decided where to stop regardless of buttons pushed. But for that I would have rated five star.

"Hotel Stellar"
Suzie A, 04 Septembre 2018

Great little boutique hotel. Clean and refurbished. Has nice barthroom products. Lift was a bit dodgy, they were having it looked at and did apologise for the inconvenience. Lurched when you arrived at the ground floor. Staff were nice. Good find in Sydney for the price.

"Good Location and Good Size Room"
Marites C, 03 Septembre 2018

The staffs are friendly, it has a good location and near the train station. The room was of good size. I'd love to stay here the next time I will be in Sydney and I will definitely recommend it to a friend.

"Attentive Staff and Great Location"
Karinatravelmanager, 02 Septembre 2018

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly in particular Michael and Fabiana. The hotel is just a quick walk to Museum train station and the CBD is just a few blocks away. If travelling with guests that may have mobility problems or with a wheelchair the hotel doesn't have the facilities required. I would not recommend the 3 bedroom apartment for mobility impaired guests as the 3rd bedroom is on a loft/2nd floor. Parking options are limited, so contact hotel to reserve a spot

"Good Location"
Imtiaz_ctn, 02 Septembre 2018

Located a short walk from Westfield - across Hyde park this hotel is in a good location. We had a corner room on the 2nd level looking toward Hyde Park - this was perfect! The kitchenette and laundromat were a great help as this was our 5th week away from home. Thankfully the lift worked on the day we arrived and when we left. The temperatures dropped when we were there. The aircon and heated bathroom helped to keep the cold out. The coffee served at the Stellar cafe was among the best we have had in Sydney!

"Super Staff, Great Location"
Wendy L, 01 Septembre 2018

We loved the location of this hotel near Oxford Street and Hyde Park. It was an easy walk to trains and buses and a pleasant walk to Darling Harbour. I want to especially acknowledge staff Michael and Pavel who both went above and beyond to provide help when we needed it. The only negative during our stay was an uncertain elevator, which they were working to fix. But the staff offered to carry luggage if we couldn't manage it. If I ever get the chance to visit Sydney again, I would stay here.

"Affordable and good hotel - no good heating anywhere in Australia"
Aad H, 19 Août 2018

We have a family room for four persons. Two good beds ( not one bed and one sofa bed) Small kitchen with magnetron and refrigerator and cooking plate can be asked for. Good bathroom. Hot water is limited maybe shared with other rooms by a boiler. Friendly personell. A major issue in Australia is that there is NO separate good functioning heating in the rooms of all hotels and Appartements. The airconditioning is misused as heating and that does not work. So we had cold nights in southern Australia during this winter time. Really strange for us Europeans.

"Great value and close to Amenities"
_emifoo, 08 Août 2018

Good location is close to Hyde Park, Central and Chinatown. World Square is 5 min walk away where there are many restaurants and Coles that opens till midnight. Walk to Circular Quay around 25 min. Museum Station is 3 min across the road. Nice clean spacious room with kitchenette, utensils and microwave. WiFi is excellent. Good breakfast and coffee downstairs. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They helped me with the Blue Mountain tour booking (Oz Trails-recommended) and shuttle to the airport AUD14. Do note that the airport shuttle picks up other passengers as well. So recommended to allocate more time to reach the airport. If you are a light sleeper, request for a room at the back or higher floors as the sound proofing is not good. We stayed 5 nights on the 1st floor facing the road and we can hear the traffic and some noises from the bar a few doors away. There are no complimentary water provided (Cost $4.50 for a big bottle) or bedroom slippers. All in all it is a nice stay and I would come back.

"BW Stellar great location and friendly staff"
Bruce357m, 06 Août 2018

BW stellar had very helpful and friendly staff, rooms were very clean and tidy It is situated in a great location, within walking distance to everywhere. Stacks of public transport around and not far from the central station for those arriving by train from the airport. Also close to a local IGA for those wishing to use the kitchenette.

"Get together weekend"
Mary5Dubbo, 05 Août 2018

Great place to have a family get together in Sydney. Public transport close by. 3 bedroom apartment was perfect, clean and well appointed. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back

"For real????"
Leanne M, 02 Août 2018

Furious... was blatantly lied to with regards to when I would receive my deposit back. It adds to the insult that this is the only hotel to request a deposit from me with it being the 6th in a 3 week holiday. The lifts were ridiculously slow and I mainly used the stairwell. The extra bed I requested before check in day looked like it was thrown together 5 minutes before check in. Paper thin walls and heard every door open and shut from other rooms. Some of the staff on front desk attitudes left a lot to be desired. Never, ever again!

"Nice!"
lmg2802, 14 Juillet 2018

Stayed 2 nights. Got a room with a little kitchen. Comfy beds, good front desk staff. Good location to take public transportation around the city. Had brekki at the hotel. Nice prices and tasty food. I do wished the 'bar' stayed open as they advertised happy hour but the times advertised it was closed.

"Next to Hyde Park"
willis_w, 11 Juillet 2018

Location is the key to this property. You're caddy corner from Hyde Park... and all the ultra elite shopping, eating, and drinking. Price is very reasonable compared to the places a block or so away and pretty much on par with them. I didn't try it, but I did notice their breakfast was super cheap... and smelled terrific! It's not a big property so you will want to reserve the room as soon as you know you want one.

"Good value for money and great location"
Kilmore_12, 11 Juillet 2018

The hotel is in a great location, offers (at least for Sydney) very good value for money. It is a short walk to wither the Museum Train Station or several bus stops, Circular Quay is about 1 15 minute walk to a ferry. There is a well stocked IGA supermarket about 3 minutes walk away. Our 4th floor room faced Wentworth Ave, the sound proofing from the street could have been better, the original single glassed windows on the outside of the newer double glassing formed a poor seal, if this was fixed the traffic noise would likely be much reduced. The AC unit in the room was set on a timer hence keeping this going overnight was not possible without getting up and resetting the wall mounted switch. The kitchenette had a sandwich press rather than a toaster which was slightly odd, but worked very well. The hotel has an onsite cafe, but its hours are very short and the team onsite knows very little about what the cafe has to offer. This is not a problem as there are plenty of eating options nearby.

"Good location,nice room "
Janb3321, 04 Juillet 2018

Comfy, clean room in a good location. Right by the Museum metro stop which is easy access to almost anything you want to see or Central station if you want to go to the Blue Mountains, etc. If you enjoy walking it's an interesting and nice walk to the harbor, ferries, parks and the opera house. The bus to Bondi Beach is right around the corner. We had a nice kitchenette and several grocery stores nearby as well as many restaurants. The bistro by the lobby was also good. Very pleasant and helpful desk staff.

"Late Night Noise"
Sexie-Veggie, 26 Juin 2018

We stayed here for two nights while in Sydney. This hotel doesn't seem anything like a Best Western, except for the name. It's a small hotel in the city with a small reception desk, essentially no lobby, and a coffee shop attached to it. We stayed here because they offered two double beds in one room, something that I had a hard time affordably finding in Sydney. Our room also had the small kitchenette in it. The room was clean, with the exception of the bathroom. There was hair on the floor and the shower could have been cleaner. Maid service never replenished our toiletries, nor did they clean up the bathroom for our second day. Our biggest complaint is the late night party that was going on in the basement of this facility. The party was constantly playing loud dance music til at least 1 am. Everyone in my group had trouble falling asleep. We were only on the second floor, but we could hear every beat of that music. The hotel management claims that we shouldn't have been able to hear the music, but all they needed to do was ride the elevator to the second floor to hear it. No one at the front desk empathized with us or offered apologies about the noise. Apparently the hotel wants to make more money renting out space than they do by pleasing their current guests. After complaining to corporate about the noise (upon returning home), all Best Western could do is offer me a small amount of reward points as an apology. Wow. How generous. Also, know if you take the shuttle to the airport, you will NOT be the only one in the van. The van picks up 13 people (filling every seat) all at different hotels. It took us over an hour to get to the airport. The hotel staff told us the van would take us directly to the airport. Wow, were they wrong. And we cut it way too close with making our flight. The hotel itself is ok. But I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

"Good getaway location"
tourist847, 25 Juin 2018

Top city location, in walk able distance to many city venues, as well as close to public transport. Staff very helpful when booking on the phone, and very friendly and helpful on arrival. Good , clean, affordable, friendly - we felt welcome.

"Fantastically Clean"
Maziar I, 17 Juin 2018

We spent a night at this excellent hotel. The building might look old but I feel it was renovated and they'd considered major essential needs for you to have a pleasant stay. Myself, I care the most about the security first and then cleanness. This place gave me both %100 and the rest was also very good. Staff very helpful, service was quick, ... ask me if you have more questions, happy to help

"Vivid Sydney 2018 ( 4 days ) "
Shirly L, 10 Juin 2018

Very convenient, 2 mins walking distance from museum train station. It is easy to go everywhere ( china town, town hall ). Room is very clean and shower is clean. All Staff are very friendly and helpful. I love to go back to stay there again. My room was 301

"Nice hotel in good location"
claire s, 06 Juin 2018

Very clean room. Two queen beds were very comfortable. Didn't use the small kitchen but it gave us extra space so room felt less cramped for the 3 of us. 5 minute walk to Museum station which took us to Wynyard (for Darling Harbour), Town Hall (for QVB shopping) or Circular Quay. We also walked to these places but train was easier when it was raining. Good value compared to a lot of other hotels.

"Everything Your Need"
101geoffreyb, 05 Juin 2018

This was our first stay at Hotel Stellar. We chose a King Studio room which had a kitchenette. It was quite roomy and well appointed. The staff were very helpful. Parking is tight, but at least it's available in this part of town. It's close to lots of Sydney's attractions, without the traffic hassles of the CBD. Overall, we had a great stay and would stay here again.

"Functional and close to city"
40trevorr, 04 Juin 2018

Roomy, new and functional. Perfect for your overnight show or business trip. The check in is a little clunky but after you get past the usual lay up front, pay a deposit (which still amazes us that use copororate cards) the room is a nice surprise. Well worth a try.

"Great location for the price and surprisingly quiet"
Maree C, 04 Juin 2018

Easy walk from Central Station, cafes in Su?rey Hills and Oxford Street. Plus approx. A ten minute walk to Capitol Theatre. Very quiet for a busy street. Very clean. Allowed early check-in which was handy too.

"A decent hotel"
Maria L, 02 Juin 2018

The hotel seems a bit tired. Despite the name "Best Western," I was unable to find a trace of the "chain " hotel ambiance. The hotel is ok but it seems more of the "B&B" type of accommodation rather than a hotel. I stayed there for one night for transit and it was fine. The hotel is off from the City Center but is still within walking distance (for about 20 minutes) from Darling Harbour.

"Great staff, couldn't be more helpful."
sallygallagher29, 29 Mai 2018

Room as described, clean and tidy. A comfortable bed and room to move. Kitchen great for short stays. I used the ironing board and hair dryer, both fine. Lift super slow so a great opportunity to get my step count up. Awesome cafe next door for coffee and breaky.

"Nice Small Hotel"
SanjeevNirwani, 22 Mai 2018

The nice small Hotel has reasonably sized rooms with small Kitchenette comprising microwave, cutlery, etc. There is no room service except for dinner and the menu is limited. There is a café on the ground floor which caters breakfast and lunch, again with a limited menu. The main door is open 7 am to 7pm and rest of the hours it can be opened with your room key or by the Reception on door bell. Hotel is good if you are not particular about the room service.

"Average, eateries and convenience stores nearby"
Purethoughts2, 20 Mai 2018

Average hotel. When we reached the hotel, lift wasn't working so had to take the stairs with our heavy luggage. There is a 24 hr convenience stores next to the hotel. Take the room facing the road as the view is better. There is a market nearby, some restaurants are open until 10pm. There are couple of convenience stores, I wasn't disappointed.

"Average hotel, near market, location wise convenient"
jjane25, 20 Mai 2018

Average hotel. The day we reached, lift was not working so had take the stairs (with our heavy luggage). Location wise it's good, view from my hotel was not too bad either. Many restaurants and convenience stores are nearby. Darling harbour is not too far. I faced issues with VPN connection but one of the staff members was very helpful. Overall okay.

"Great Hotel, Central Location, Large/ Clean Rooms"
haybri2016, 19 Mai 2018

Stayed at this property for 5 nights prior to a transpacific cruise. We were provided with a king bedded room on the 6th floor. The room was large had a decent view, was very clean and included a mini kitchen with a microwave, tea-kettle, fridge and sandwich press (dishes, cutlery included). The location is central to all major attractions, 10-15 mins to the opera house, 15 mins to the bridge and within 10 mins to Darling Harbour. The proximity to Hyde Park was a nice as it served as a central location to walk through. The cost of the room was decent and will recommend to others visiting Sydney!

"best sleep that i've ever had in a hotel"
travellingcat1, 17 Mai 2018

I arrived to find I had been upgraded which was great! The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was so comfortable that I had the best nights sleep (for three nights in a row) that I have ever had in a hotel. The room was quiet as they have double windows and the inner ones are either double or triple glazed. Staff were friendly and efficient. was in a good location for me too and close to Museum station which made it easy to get to and from airport. I would certainly stay here again.

"Love this hotel!"
purplepashmina, 08 Mai 2018

Clean, central, quiet, roomy, old school, great cafe below, next to Hyde Park. Awesome! Lots of Sydney hotels are either over priced or too small. This was neither. Very friendly reception. Nice coffee in cafe downstairs. Large kitchen dining area. Plenty of light.

"Good but lacking some things..."
stephenbX8403AL, 08 Mai 2018

Rooms are spacious and its good having the kitchenette, housekeeping and staff good. Location is great near trains and parks and amenities. Definitely a lot better than a lot of the "dives" in Sydney and its reasonably priced. I liked the heavy drape curtains also and the rooms were not to noisy, I do have some niggles though. My room didn't have a couch or a work desk, definitely enough room for them but they were not there? TV was quite small. The lift was pretty slow but thank goodness it only had 8 floors to go up. Some of the hotel feels old, the room "feels" semi modern. No gym facilities at this hotel FYI.

"Perfect place to Stay"
Abdou S, 08 Mai 2018

Staff are very nice, room very big with kitchenette. Location quiet nice a block away from Hyde Park. Plenty of restaurants nearby and walking distance to Thai-town and Chinatown. Love staying at this place every time I am In Sydney( 7 times)

"Great place to stay"
jerry9022018, 27 Avril 2018

We stayed 2 different times at this hotel and our experience was great both times. The staff is very professional and friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the location is nearby to many attractions.

"Love this hotel !"
Aurélie B, 25 Avril 2018

Comfortable, well equiped and clean room. Employees are very nice. Hotel very well located in the city : near Australian museum, Darling Harbour, Central station. A great and affordable choice for family. We'll come back !

"Close to Oxford St and Hyde Park"
DaisyFire, 22 Avril 2018

I had a meeting nearby and thought to stay here for something different to the usual business hotel. Very friendly, tiny reception off the cafe/bar. Hotel Stellar is in an odd-shaped building so the foyers and rooms are all quirky shapes. My room was quite spacious, bathroom basic but clean with "natural" toiletries. The kitchenette was pretty good and you could cook for yourself if you were staying for a while (though that would be a shame, given the hotel is surrounded by a fantastic array of cafes and restaurants). I would stay I had one of the best hotel bed sleeps ever here - decent quality bed linen and great mattress and pillows. Through an open door I saw the family room which was huge. I'd stay here again, if I managed to get a decent rate. On short notice, my room rate was exhorbitant (and that was online). Close to buses, city centre and Museum station.

"Highly recommended."
rdolmsted, 16 Avril 2018

Great location. Close to rail station and bus stops. Wonderful, quiet room. Clean and welcoming staff. Safe area of the city. Close to grocery stores and shopping. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

"Excellent hotel with great location and friendly staff"
Weipin2015, 15 Avril 2018

1. Location: about half block from Hyde park and one blocks from the museum rail station. We took the train from the airport to this station and it was a short walk to the hotel. This hotel is very convenient and you can walk to circular quay in 15-20 minutes. 2. Room: clean, spacious and quit with a Kitchenette which was great to use for breakfasts. 3. Staff, The staff are very friendly and helpful. 4. No free parking or free breakfast. 5. Will stay here again when we go back.

"Great loaction and great family room"
Pictonbear, 15 Avril 2018

Awesome location just off Oxford street and right near Hyde park. Loved the family room with two large beds ( I assume queen size ) and great size room with great dining and kitchenette and room very quiet at night

Tia878, 14 Avril 2018

Our room on Level 4 was clean and quiet and had all our 'must haves' - a firm bed, opening windows, a safe, free Wifi and lovely bathroom products! It was also very generously sized, given the price and central location. There's a nice cafe downstairs where we had breakfast one day. Reception staff were helpful and courteous, and the location near Hyde Park is a good base for many Sydney attractions. Although it's near Museum Station, we ended up getting a taxi to and from the airport, as this worked out cheaper than train tickets for the two of us.

"Relaxation with friends."
David R, 12 Avril 2018

I have stayed at numerous places in my life but when l visit Hotel Stellar its my second home.I arrived there Tuesday the 10th April for 3 days and as you walk into the place you feel the cleanliness, freshening and smart smell of beauty when walking in your room.staff are so friendly and any problems I had which by the way was very limited it was sorted and attended to quickly.A sheer pleasure to always look forward to staying at Hotel Stellar (Best western.)

"Location location location"
Debra A, 12 Avril 2018

We stayed in the Stellar for 7 nights. On our arrival we were told that we had been upgraded (email sent referring to partner's 40th birthday celebrations) - we were upgraded to a 4th floor corner room. It was a spacious room with a decent kitchenette. I don't imagine that the upgrade got us anything more than a larger room. The bathroom was also big. The location was good - 20 mins walk from circular quay, a 2/3 min walk to the museum train station and a 25 min walk to the central station. There is a huge Coles Supermarket 10 mins away. The museum station is on the Airport route which makes getting to and from the airport a doddle. Hyde Park is almost on the doorstep with a peaceful vibe (and lots of people performing keep fit). Not much in the way of eateries nearby, although check out Macchiato pizza place on Liverpool St it serves the best pizzas

"Sweet surprise"
akyle2016, 11 Avril 2018

Amazing surprise quiet and quaint updated room. Newly outfitted , even had a panini press. Affordable and close to everything. Comfy clean room with luxury bed. Staff was happy to help and arrange transport to airport.

"very satisfied"
emik0, 06 Avril 2018

Comfy bed, clean toilet and kitchen. spacious for 3 adults. amenities provided was good. a bit of walking needed to the museum station (for elderly a bit tiring) but bus services are nearby and connected well. Need only one bus to go to Bondi beach. there is a supermarket named Food Hall and pharmacy less than 5 minutes walk. its a walking distance to the tram station and central. Will recommend this place to family and friends. Would like to say thanks to Michael at reception for his excellent service

"Great facility but limited local dining"
John S, 04 Avril 2018

The facility was everything we expected: Pleasant room, firm mattress, spacious bathroom and shower, well-equipped kitchenette and helpful staff. Only one negative feature: the only bathroom lighting was positioned too far away from the counter/mirror, so your face was in shadow when shaving or applying makeup. Having no supplemental light over the mirror was quite annoying. Good nearby public transportation from Museum Station, but there were very limited dining opportunities within my (limited, 6 block) walking distance. With aching knees after a full day of touring, I would have liked to stay right in the neighborhood. A pleasant surprise was the hotel cafe, which offered great breakfast selection, reasonably priced and a pleasant atmosphere -- but closed at 4pm.

"Amazing Bargain"
Journeyquest, 28 Mars 2018

We were looking for a centrally located hotel in Sydney to spend the night before flying off to another Australian city, and the location of the Stellar made it a good candidate. We were a little worried what we would find because the price was such a bargain, but we were amazed by the comfortable size and well-kept condition of the room - and a great view of Hyde Park to boot. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel's great location and nearby shopping were additional pluses. The room kitchenette was well-equipped for dinner and breakfast-making. We wished we could have stayed longer, and would be happy to stay there again.

"Wonderful "
Sensei2010, 25 Mars 2018

I love staying at this hotel. It's small and like a boutique hotel. The front staff are friendly and helpful Perfectly located Comfortable beds Great showers Immaculately cleaned Can't fault it at all This is my first choice in Sydney for sure

"Nice place"
Jenny H, 13 Mars 2018

We stayed here for 2 nights in late February. The room was spacious with a kitchenette, so we bought cereal, milk and juice at the convenience store next door (for about $20!) and ate breakfast in the room. The bathroom was fine except the door was quite heavy and hard to push open. The location is good, just past the corner of Hyde Park. (Tip: walk through the park near dusk and see all the big bats -maybe they are flying foxes?). We walked from the hotel to the botanical gardens, opera house, and bridge... be aware that it's a pretty good walk, maybe a couple of kilometers, to the main tourist area. The front desk people were nice and quite helpful.

"Ok, but few little things from being a better rating"
Matt P, 09 Mars 2018

Stayed here for a night on a business trip to Sydney. Location is pretty good with it being close to the CBD without the hussle and bussle. I recommend not driving a car of staying here as parking is limited and a pain to get sorted. Tight space on the car park also. Room service menu is limited but there are a few restaurants within walking distance. Bed was pretty comfortable and room size is good, with self contained kitchenette avail. Only one loft so staying on top.floor means a little wait time occasionally. Bathroom is spacious but water pressure is a bit average. Would have given this place a 3.5 if half points were possible.

"Great location and friendly staff"
philip2010, 12 Février 2018

Stayed at Hotel Stellar based on trip advisor reviews. I liked the location which was a half block from Hyde park and a few blocks from the museum rail station. We took the train from the airport to this station and it was a short walk to the hotel. This hotel is very convenient and you can walk to circular quay in 15-20 minutes. There is a grocery store on Oxford street around the corner from Hotel Stellar. We had a large room on the 4th floor with a Kitchenette which was great to use for breakfasts. Our room faced Hyde park and Wentworth and you do hear a few car horns at times but generally it is very quiet. The staff are friendly, the hotel is clean and centrally located. Highly recommend this hotel. Enjoy!

"Nice enough hotel"
Gloryhornetboy08, 03 Février 2018

Stayed here for 7 nights at the start of our visit to Australia. We arrived at 9am but had to wait until 2pm to get in room, but did say that when booking, although when we stayed before room was ready by 10. The room was good with drawers which is unusual in a lot of Australian hotels we have stayed in, it had a fridge, microwave, kettle and toasted sandwich maker. Tea/coffee provided but maids kept forgetting to leave more milk sachets, so had to go to reception to get some, maids generally poor, some days room not even made up by 4pm. Bed was fairly comfortable.Downstairs there is a cafe where you can get a good breakfast if required, it is busy because local office workers use it.Reception staff are mostly very efficient and friendly.Good WiFi.

"Comfortable hotel in the heart of Sydney"
DWG99, 23 Janvier 2018

We stayed at Hotel Stellar for two nights while touring Sydney. It's in an old building but has been renovated nicely, the rooms are large, modern and comfortable. Check in and out was quick as it's not a very large hotel. There was a little cafe that sold coffs an baked goods attached to the hotel. The location is great, walking distance to most attractions downtown Sydney. Parking was minimal and expensive. Overall a nice stay.

"Great location, friendly and helpful desk staff"
Margaret C, 20 Janvier 2018

The hotel is a block away from the Museum train stop, so convenient to/from the airport. At bus stop got on the local bus to Coogee Beach and did part of the coastal walk to Bronte. Staff was very friendly and gave lots of helpful hints about what was nearby and how to get to further spots. The room was spacious and very clean and quiet. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while visiting Sydney, and recommend it highly.

"Lovely Room"
meghug42016, 11 Janvier 2018

Comfortable and clean king size bed with 2 big windows letting in a lot of light in the day. Fridge and cooking facilities with dining table and desk. Bathroom is modern and great too, towels are provided. Air conditioning worked fine, as did the television. Not far from some restaurants and super markets and right next to a park.

"New Year visit"
fruityflake25, 06 Janvier 2018

Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms nice and very very clean with big comfy beds. Really appreciated the surprise champagne gift for staying over new year. Excellent WiFi. Great location - easy and fast access to trains and buses but also only 15 min walk to Pitt Str- main shopping strip. Useful guest laundry with separate washer dryers. Kitchennette was well stocked with equipment needed. Close to really good supermarket around the corner which sells lovely healthy foods as well ad treats.Loved our stay here.

"Christmas 2017"
Melinda P, 03 Janvier 2018

We got a nice large quiet room on the fifth floor with park views. There was a kitchenette with a microwave and the bathroom was spacious but an extra shelf to put toiletries on would be great. Close to shops and transport plus a coffee shop near reception.

"great location and quiet rooms off the Hyde park area"
Margscott, 03 Janvier 2018

the Stellar Hotel is a great hotel with helpful staff and fabulous location on the famous Hyde park. Loads of shopping. close to china town and great restauarants in the area.. Nice spacious rooms .. and very well equipped and clean.

"Lovely experience start to finish"
gasbrake, 29 Décembre 2017

We stayed for three nights in late December and had a great experience from start to finish. The room we stayed in was spacious and included a very usable kitchenette, as well as a large and well lit shower/bathroom facility. Free WiFi very fast, and air con blows cold enough to cut through the heat and humidity of a Sydney summer. Service was lovely (if a bit matter-of-fact), and housekeeping did a great job. Nice towels too. Location is hard to fault, close to buzzing Oxford St, with buses to Bondi, walk to CBD, Hyde Park, and Museum train station all easy to get to on foot. For the price we paid (and in comparison to some of the bigger brands in the surrounding area) Hotel Stellar is one of the better accommodation bargains we have come across, and will be our go-to for future Sydney visits.

"Excellent location good potential beware of hidden charges"
SamD_11, 24 Décembre 2017

Booked the hotel from Expedia. They charged for the extra person however the hotel wanted to charge another $70 per day for the extra bed. Hotel staff is pleasant and helpful. Very centrally located. Easy access to all visitor sites. Clean rooms and spacious. However the most terrible thing is that the air-conditioning is programmed to go off 6hours after the start. So in hot Sydney summer you wake up 3-4am in the morning. This is terrible and then you can't go back to sleep. The management must change this policy or increase the time to 8 hours. If not I would NOT recommend anyone to stay here unless you want to be like a Zombie in the morning!

"very pleasant stay"
BUGI_70, 21 Décembre 2017

A very pleasant stay though the hotel isn't exactly a 4* on US standard. The building, outside, isn't that great but rooms are comfortable and pretty new. Right in CBD, close to most attractions and to metro station. The staff is professional and, on arrival, we received very useful information. Coffee bar on the ground floor. Parking costs 30 A$ per night. The parking lot is really tiny and you must book it in advance. We didn't know but fortunately there was an available space. Anyway I'd rather suggest to not rent a car while in Sidney: you really don't need it! Our room was number 506 on fifth floor, close to the laundry room but, except for the first night when we had some problems with noise, we've always slept pretty well. Our bedroom was spacious and the bathroom had a comfortable shower. Toiletries included soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. A good stay.

"Great stay at the Best Western Hotel Stellar - Sydney"
Malcolm C, 21 Décembre 2017

Staff very friendly & helpful. Access to room easy via Lift. Room excellent, comfortable bed, kitchenette with microwave came in handy for snack meals. Bathroom again excellent, bright, roomy, great shower maintained water pressure and temperature.

"Central location with big rooms"
DAV1D_C, 20 Décembre 2017

We stayed at the hotel for just one night during a stopover from Tokyo to Melbourne. From the outside it didn't look very inviting, quite dark. But the staff at check in was very friendly and helpful. We even could get into our room early at around 10am. This was great. We could have a shower an chang after our night flight from Tokyo. The room itself was quite big with a comfy bed, AC, and a small kitchen area. The bathroom was nice, too. All looked quite new and clean. We got really good value for money.

"Short stopover"
F3LiKS, 20 Décembre 2017

Check in was quick and no delay in getting to the room (we arrived before 3pm). Clean and big enough room and bathroom. Polite staff throughout. We did not use room service so no comment on that. Location handy and thus a bit loud but cheaper than other hotels. Walk from Museum stop less than five minutes to hotel.

"Small hotel, good location"
CK_Low_SG, 20 Décembre 2017

Large comfortable rooms and good location near to city and less than 5 minutes to Museum station to easy commute to places of interest like Sydney Opera house. Near to car rental shops as well which was great for me. Would be better if near to more cheaper food options.

"It's a very nice hotel. I'd give is a 9 out of 10. "
Adonis_i027, 08 Décembre 2017

Stayed there for 4 days in May. I would definitely go back again. The location was very good. Walking distance to the gay village. The room was nice and clean. Overall it was a good stay, though it was a bit expensive.

"Great place to stay"
Dick Z, 26 Novembre 2017

A comfortable hotel in a great location close to Museum subway. The room we had was spacious with a kitchenette with the necessary amenities. A friendly and helpful reception, clean room and nice bathroom. Nice and quiet. Definite recommendation.

"Great location, good value for money"
mjgaitan, 26 Novembre 2017

The hotel is in a great location, near Hyde Park and Museum underground train station. The room is perfect for those looking for a comfortable, well lit room, with space to work. As I was travelling around Australia, I stayed one or two nights at different stages. Only once I had significant issues with Wifi, but the rest of the time it worked perfectly. Staff is very helpful.

"Great Stay"
Keegan H, 25 Novembre 2017

Best Western Hotel Plus Stellar (although a mouthful) was incredibly accommodating. The room was very spacious and clean, the location (directly diagonal to Hyde Park) was fantastic. Only negatives were very very minor things to do with room layout which has no impact on the quality of stay. Our towels were replaced daily and they even did our dishes! The front of house staff was fantastic, we were dealt with by about three different people at different times but they were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

"Fresh; bright; SPOTLESSLY clean; quiet; polite. A DELIGHT TO STAY."
Damien V, 23 Novembre 2017

The location was perfect. I was on business. I don't travel often. It was dead quiet inside. Double-glazed windows with interior glazing. Excellent. Spacious & high-ceilinged. Ample room. Bathroom very large. Bed queen-sized and comfortable. Not too hard; not too soft; not lumpy. Ample pillows (6) + cushions (4). Amenities: iron + board in room; perfectly sized TV. Excellent reception. WiFi but I never use it. Kitchenette-excellent. Kettle; glass and timber shelving; sandwich maker - a large one. Microwave - big one. Cutlery - tonnes of it. Crockery - plenty. Additional blankets/duvet. However, the cleanliness and the newness were stunning. The tiling, carpeting, panelling looked brand new. AND SPOTLESS. Not one speck of dust on any surface. It was as clean as my own kitchen and bedroom. AND quiet. A few Fire Brigade trucks and some excessive honking from irritated drivers. So what! It's the CBD. The gentleman at Reception was 100% excellent. Knowledgeable. Reserved. Capable. The small restaurant was lovely. Very reasonably priced. Food nice. I'd eat there again. And I've joined the BestWesternPromotions Programme. What can I say!

"Pleasant surprise"
roslynd540, 18 Novembre 2017

Booked in at late notice for weekend . What a pleasant surprise. There is a cafe on site for brekkie and room service for dinner if needed It is at Central end of Hyde Park ... Oxford St around the corner plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk to Westfield The room was well appointed with aircon and microwave kitchenette. The towels were thick and plush and the bed very comfortable the staff were great tooI would happily stay again

"Hotel in good location"
slinger1_13, 16 Novembre 2017

The hotel was in a very good location close to public transport and accessible to tourist points of interest, the hotel rooms are spacious and very clean, we had a large room, with kitchen and lounge area with a large shower room, we would definitely stay here again the small cafe area was lovely and served value for money meals and refreshments, the staff were very helpful in the hotel and cafe.

"Pleasant stay"
dp4492, 11 Novembre 2017

Nice, tidy, neat and clean. Has everything you would need and is within walking distance to central CBD. We were on the 3rd floor and even then it was very quiet! Stayed for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very affordable too given we were staying on an eventful weekend and booked fairly late.

"Convenient, clean, well-priced."
Paul K, 06 Novembre 2017

I stayed here for the first time, for 2 nights. The Stellar might look plain and ordinary from the outside, but that's one of its many charms. The small Reception area was always staffed by helpful, polite people. Always a smile, and always a 'thank you' - quite lacking in other places. Locations was wonderful for me - just 5 min walk from the airport via Museum station, and just 10 mins to Central station too. Oxford St is less than 1 min walk away. Convenience stores are next door and around the corner. I had an upper floor room - very very nice. Kitchenette was handy for DIY breakfast. Bathroom was large and airy. Some shelving or drawers in the bathroom would have helped. Also, the TV was way too small for the room - but these are very minor things. Thoroughly recommend this hotel!

"Brilliant location"
Joy C, 05 Novembre 2017

We stayed in the 3 bedroom suit number 307 it was very large and had everything we needed. Beds were very comfy bathrooms were amazing hotel had free WiFi. Televisions were in each bedrooms and the lounge area. Could not fault the accommodation Location of the hotel was also great we used museum station that was a five minute walk. Lots of bars and restaurants near hotel and Hyde Park was across the street. All in all the best location for what we needed to see in Sydney and all the staff at the hotel were very pleasant and accommodating to our needs. Whilst we stayed there we visited Sydney harbour the opera house. Sydney rugby stadium. Pylon lookout and. The sky tower Taronga Zoo. And a day at Manley all were amazing

"Great Stay"
Anderss22, 05 Novembre 2017

Stayed here on the 4/11/17 for one night for a birthday celebration. The location was perfect for us, as our plans required us to be near Oxford St and this hotel is literally around the corner. Museum station is the closest, however was not operating this weekend due to track work. Central Station is only a 10 minute walk downhill, which was not too bad. The hotel was small but nice. The room was a great size. We had room 301. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen area was totally fine too. My only gripe was that we ran out of hot water in the shower after our night out. Not sure why this happend. Perhaps there are seperate hot water tanks for the rooms. All in all it was a pleasant stay and would stay here again. The staff were very professional and helpful.

"Overnight at Stellar Hotel Sydney"
Maluri C, 02 Novembre 2017

Me and my children stayed for just one night we were planning to go out to explore the city at night but the room made us change our mind and we decided to just hangout and enjoy the comfort of the room and get our dinner delivered. Room is cozy, looks clean and smells clean, a small kitchen with all the necessities, bed is comfy just what we needed after a day of walking around the city

"The best"
mattjohn66, 28 Octobre 2017

Stayed over night Saturday 28TH October. The room for 3 was huge, clean and quiet. Its was central to our dinner party in Oxford Street. If you ever need milk ,drinks or house hold things, their is a shop next door to the hotel. Parking is very very tight. small cars only. it was really really nice place to stay. Will be staying their again when in Sydney.

"I visited this hotel 3 times during my holiday break & once again it didnt disappoint me just love taying here."
David R, 26 Octobre 2017

To walk inside the front makes you think your overseas in Italy or somewhere just beautiful Welcoming to customer, the rooms I stayed in were just simply fresh clean and presentable at all times.A1spot for visitors and those wanting to visit places around the CBD.

"Covienient place to stay"
Uroboros423, 25 Octobre 2017

Close to train, museum stop and stop #3 on the hop on hop off bus. IGA grocery store very close to the hotel. Breakfast was nice with some good options available (not free like in the USA) very helpful staff.

"wonderful location"
TKANDTJ, 20 Octobre 2017

we stayed here in april - we had a large room overlooking hyde park. very quiet comfortable clean. Skimpy on the staff looking after front desk - usually just one there manning phones and looking after guests so you need to be patient - but they were very polite and helpful. there are some very large grocery stores not far from the hotel - the stores on same block however are expensive and small - you are going to have to walk three blocks to get to the good restaurants and stores. Safe area always lots of people around and neighboring buildings are high end. Walk to the harbour takes about half hour - very nice walk - you hit two parks on the way and a lovely botanical garden that covers about 1/3 of the way. never took transport.

"Excellent hotel!"
Alfie193, 15 Octobre 2017

Our family of three stayed here for two nights and wished that we had had more time to enjoy Sydney and the comfort of the hotel. We arrived early in the morning , stored our baggage and were given a Sydney map and great advice from the hotel reception. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the beds were very comfy! We had no outside noise from the city and slept well both nights. The hotel is in a great location to access stores, cafes and the train station. It also has a wonderful cafe that served a delicious breakfast, and everyone at the hotel was exceptionally nice, friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time in Sydney and enjoyed our stay at the hotel so much that we continue to reminisce about it now that we are home. We would definitely return to the hotel and for much longer! It was a great experience!

"Great appartment"
Buzza626, 08 Octobre 2017

Staying here was a great choice. Comfortable beds, excellent bathroom, room was large with small kitchen. Was upgraded on arrival and best of all the stay was for a very reasonable price. Although the outside of the building don't look that grand.... the room were the opposite and all new and clean. The one elevator could be a issue if the hotel was busy and the checkout is 10am. Overall great hotel.

"Great Location and Breakfast"
Tahlea P, 03 Octobre 2017

We have just returned from such an enjoyable four night stay at the Hotel Stellar, which is within walking distance of Darling Harbour and the Pitt Street Mall. Other attractions were easily accessible via public transport nearby. We were very impressed by the quality of the breakfast offered at the cafe downstairs, and returned there every morning during our stay. I would highly recommend the Hotel Stellar for the location, nice room and breakfast.

"Very Good Hotel to Stay"
Michael W, 29 Septembre 2017

The hotel staff was very helpful and professional. They gave excellent advice and saw to all of our needs. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is close to public transportation and downtown.

"Two day stay "
Swapnalekha, 06 Septembre 2017

Its an apartment hotel. Skeletal but excellent staff. Fantastic upkeep. Has a laundry and a kitchenette. Pretty well stocked kitchenette and if there is somethibg extra that u would want they are very sincere in getting that to you.

"Family visiting from Canada "
bfprice, 02 Septembre 2017

We had family visiting from Canada and decided to meet in Sydney before heading to Melbourne. This hotel was much better then we anticipated. Great location, good sized rooms, friendly staff, great coffee shop on the ground floor. We could walk through Hyde Park to the CBD or catch a train to most other places. There were also busses nearby which offered even more access. Pleasantly surprised and would recommend.

"Great location, quiet room"
Seda C, 04 Août 2017

Good location. Although away from the tourist areas, it's only a 8-minute train ride and a 20-minute walk to the harbors and the Opera House. The Museum Station is one block away. Hyde Park is across the street. Oxford shopping street and a supermarket that's open 6:00 AM to midnight is around the corner. The Australian Museum is also nearby. The best part about staying at the Stellar was the room. Although the hotel is on a very busy street, the rooms are sound proof. They are good size with a separate kitchen and sitting area. Modern bathroom and shower.

"Excellent accommodation, great staff"
tigergirl22, 29 Juillet 2017

Beautifully presented rooms with mod cons and free wifi. Staff are exceptional; friendly and professional. Appreciated assistance with luggage. Meals in cafe are great, cater to all tastes and room service meal at night was great, just like a home cooked meal. Recommend for location, easy access to city shopping.

"Not bad for a budget property"
Peter K, 23 Juillet 2017

I stayed here on price. It was OK but no reason to go back. The bathroom was quite nice but everything else was a little worn. There a few really good restaurants and cafes close by. If you need to be in that party of Sydney it is worth considering.

"Great value"
gemma d, 19 Juillet 2017

Great location, renovated room, and facilities for price. Walking distance to everything I needed. Location on cusp of CBD and Surry Hills so best of both worlds. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that there was no mini bar, but note guests could buy a mini bar pack. My own fault - I was keen for a drink and thought the bottle shop close by would be open when I was heading home my first night. Didn't make the same mistake on my second night.

"Not recommended if you are traveling to Sydney for the first time"
Schaffter J, 15 Juillet 2017

For my first trip to Sydney, I was advised to choose a hotel in Sydney CBD. Not knowing the city, I simply used this search filter and came across this hotel. First disappointment with the location which is relatively far from the shopping/restaurants area, in a street with nothing interesting at walking distance. Second disappointment whith the services, it is absolutely not a 4* hotel, third disappointment with the management, which did not even respond to my written request to leave the hotel one day earlier!

"Clean comfortable and affordable."
Paula Z, 11 Juillet 2017

My husband and I did a mid week stay here during the school holidays. Accommodation inSydney is quite expensive. We were delighted to find this little Best Western hotel in Sydney's CBD. The hotel is just on the outskirts of the main shopping areas, but only a 10 min stroll to Pitt St mall, centre point tower and the QVB building. It is also just 10 min stroll to the Capitol theatre. Across the road from museum train station, this little hotel has limited parking at $30 per night and it must be booked in advance. The rooms are quite simple but spacious, have a fridge and little kitchenette with microwave etc. The bathrooms are reasonable size and clean. This is good quality affordable accommodation in Sydney CBD. Would happily stay here again. The little coffee shop attached is also reasonably priced and offers a great breakfast. A local coffee stop for many commuters in the morning.

"Average stays, good room size"
Jack L, 11 Juillet 2017

Kitchen equipped with simple cookware. Helps a lot for us to prepare some simple breakfast. The heater switch off automatically around 4 in the morning, I turned it back on, than it switch off again by 6am. The auto switch off happened everyday. Pretty annoying, we did not like waking up in coooollll temperature. The rest was pretty ok for me. Staffs were informative and helpful. Arranged Van to pick us up from hotel to airport. Location was acceptable, just few mins walk to Museum Station, 15-20 mins walk from central, but was lots of uphill walk. Tiring with my 30kg full size luggage. Overall is good and value for money.

"Comfy, great value!"

Very easy to walk to from the Museum underground station, comfy rooms, kitchen amenities, very clean. There is a cafe in the lobby area which was quite popular. Only glitch was we had the room for 2 nights; when we returned from a long day of sightseeing, our key did not work. Had to go back down, no apology from receptionist, all he said was "Well you extended your stay...," (yes, we did, so key should not have been disabled). Conversely, when we checked out reception host was very friendly and hailed a cab for us.

"Excellent central location and staff so helpful."
foodlover27264, 29 Juin 2017

Hotel Stellar is situated next to Hyde Park and a short walk to the shops in Oxford St (including Coles and Aldi). It will take you around 30 minutes to walk to the Sydney Opera House, but then there's plenty to see on the way as well, so this is a great central location to stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and always willing to help. They are a real credit to the hotel. Arriving at the hotel, you may be excused thinking it could be a bit dark, dingy and pokey from its sombre coloured exterior and small hotel foyer, but things change when you get into your room. The rooms are large and very clean. They have been refurbished to a great standard, with a modern feel, but also still feel homely. The high stud ceilings made the rooms feel especially spacious. The bed was comfortable with lovely linen, so made for a great sleep. We could even spy the peak of the Sydney Opera House from our room which we got a big thrill out of, and the windows even open up if you like. (a rarity these days!) :) I notice that other people on TripAdvisor have complained there are no restaurants close by but we found within a 10-12 min walk, there are some awesome places to have dinner. There is a coffee shop in the foyer downstairs but we didn't get to check that out on this stay. We will definitely consider staying at Hotel Stellar on our next visit to Sydney.

"Boutique hotel in Sydney CBD"
lisalU2825EI, 29 Juin 2017

A friend and I stayed at the Hotel Stellar in Sydney. It's a wonderful boutique hotel of 36 rooms. The beds are very comfortable, the room and bathroom are spacious and clean. There were multiple amenities in the room including a kitchenette, kettle, complimentary tea and instant coffee, ironing board, iron, and extra blankets. The free internet was sometime tricky getting loaded on some devices, but worked well when it loaded. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the café makes a lovely breakfast. We couldn't beat the location. Hyde Park was very close, the metro stop was very close and only two stops to the Harbour, and one stop to Central in the opposite direction. So many options for dining, drinking, and entertainment on Oxford Street.

"PERFECT FOR ADULT FAMILIES OR GROUPS"
DUVAL5, 25 Juin 2017

Massive apartment with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Perfect for our adult family of 5. Maybe, if you have young kids, you will want to have them closer to keep an ear on them them at night, so this might be too spaced out for you, but as adults we appreciated the wide seclusion of each bedroom. The bedroom decor is somewhat dated but you don't care because you have so much space - and a super comfy bed. Nice, convenient location to bounce from. Would be happy to return again as we enjoyed it a lot.

"Good location"
angelcross, 20 Juin 2017

Near Museum Station so very accessible. Housekeeping needs improvement. Wi-fi is ok. Amenities are pretty standard. Front desk very helpful. Better take the airport bus shuttle since it's cheaper than getting a cab.

"Good Location, easy walk into town, or Paddy Market, near Hyde Park."
Still49, 09 Juin 2017

Good Location, easy walk into town, or Paddy Market, near Hyde Park. I thought we had an apartment for 4 people which I found was very small 2 queen beds side by side, it was more like a hotel room with a mini kitchen than an apartment, it was fine for 1 night, But you would not want to stay a week. The place was clean and staff were good. They have a café/ bar, which served good coffee and great food, eggs Benedict $7.50, very tasty Breakfast Wrap $8.50 coffee $3.50. This would have to be the best value breakfast in Sydney.

"Stellar Best Western"
michaelgeorgeg2017, 03 Juin 2017

Good hotel close to Museum Station which is on the airport rail line and a 15min trip tfrom Domestic Terminal. Adjacent to Hyde Park and within walking distance of CBD & City centric sights. Nice coffee/breakfast cafe downstairs with friendly staff..

"Great Location"
Rudrasen P, 02 Juin 2017

I stayed in this hotel during a business trip to Sydney,NSW in January'17. The room was clean and spacious. Staffs are well mannered and always ready to help. The location of this hotel is a plus as it is within walking distance from a lot of attraction points of the city and restaurants. The receptionist explained me in detail about the tourist spots nearby and how to access them as I reached Sydney on a weekend. The breakfast is also nice, but the place can be very crowded with long queues during weekdays. Overall good experience, I'll like to return to this hotel in my next visit to Sydney.

"A pleasant stay"
Lynne4Musswellbrook, 31 Mai 2017

We stayed here for Vivid and found it an easy walk to all the attractions. If you aren't into walking then Museum train station is just a block away. Everything is close by and there are some great little restaurants all around. We stayed in a suite with kitchenette etc so you could make your own breakfast if you were staying longer. We found the room clean and pleasant with opening windows, the staff helpful and friendly and the price reasonable. Parking was reasonable and easy to access but needs to be booked. The only negative was that breakfast is in the coffee shop attached to the hotel and it is on a line up with masses waiting for their pre-work coffee, place your order and wait. We didn't bother but went to a great little restaurant just up the street called Sticky Fingers (excellent). Would we stay again ..... definitely.

"Excellent location"
Joanne C, 28 Mai 2017

We loved this hotel... we arrived around 9:30pm and our booking was wrong, we had a double room instead of a twin. The receptionist rectified this the following morning. The hotel is fairly small, which made it more homely, but felt spacious - once you left reception! A wonderful location, on the edge of Hyde Park, one block from the train station and walking distance to the CBD. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious. Our first night, double room, had a window facing towards Hyde Park, a wonderful view even from the second floor. Our other room was on the sixth floor and faced the buildings behind the hotel... this did not bother us in the slightest as we were not in Sydney just to watch the world go by out of our hotel window! The beds were very comfortable and we slept very well... The en-suite bathroom had a wonderful shower... The kitchenette had enough in it for us to have snacks,(microwave, grill, kettle, toaster, and fridge) but we did not book the room to be able to cook for ourselves whilst on holiday! The rooms were both very clean and serviced daily. The decor looked fresh and made the room look appealing. The hotel has two laundry rooms... we did use them, it was nice that the machines all stop at 9:30pm so they do not bother the people in the neighboring room - this was us, we couldn't hear the machines through the wall, but it was nice that the hotel considers all of its guests! We have nothing negative to say about this hotel; we loved our stay here! We would definitely look to stay here again when we return to Sydney.

"Best choice!!!"
noisyjessie, 26 Mai 2017

Central location near hyde park~near from bus & train station. Friendly staffs in front desk. Too badly i dont remember the guy who usually stayed night shift, he was so kind~ we have asked so many questions whenever we come back to hotel. Great place with reasonable price. Oh one more only 2min walking distance from Coles (?)big supermarket

"Good hotel great location"
Richard L, 20 Mai 2017

Location is great to restaurants, shopping, Hyde Park, close to the Hop on Hop,off bus pickup. The hotel, itself is very nice, clean, comfortable. There is a cafe attached and they do a great breakfast and I enjoy their coffee. The staff are friendly, helpful, and the cleaning staff for the rooms are great. Check in is not till 2 pm but they can store your luggage safely.

"Clean, good location, friendly staff"
Richard C, 17 Mai 2017

Good location and value. Nice little cafe for morning coffee and light breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. About 1/2 hour easy walk through parks to Sydney Harbor. Close to rail stop from airport (Museum station).

"Great location great value"
Damien N, 09 Mai 2017

Stayed with the family we booked 2 rooms I was very impressed. great location walking distance to Darlinghurst night life and central station. The rooms are very large for Sydney and are clean well maintained. The concierge a young European guy was friendly and very helpful. I've stayed in many hotels in Sydney over the years it's probably the best value for money I've found I will definitely stay here again.

"Godd value for money"
lisajE2051QV, 27 Avril 2017

This hotel is very close to Central station and walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go. The room is clean, tidy and large. I found the noise to be very minimal from the street and only really heard it in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. The parking is for small cars only. The hotel was easy to access. It was good value for money, while I would not call it luxury it was comfortable and I would stay again.

"A great hotel very close to all major Sydney attractions"
305gus, 15 Avril 2017

My first visit and would certainly go back again. Rooms very clean, great sized bed and certainly enjoyed having the little table and chairs in the room to sit at for a snack. Room quiet very little street noise.

"The stay was perfect"
Marlon D, 09 Avril 2017

I have no complaints at all with this hotel. We stayed for 6 days and it was very pleasant. Everything clean, nice staff and the food in the cafe was very tasty. I will honestly miss that coffee every morning. If I ever come back I will definitely stay here again

"Very comfortable bed, three star property, nice bathrooms and kitchenettes"
Jabindy13, 31 Mars 2017

This is not quite a four star hotel. The kitchenete and bathroom have been renovated and were lovely. The comfort of the bed was outstanding. The hallways are depressing and the whole tone of the property will be raised if they are refreshed and made brighter. TV in my room was small. This is clearly a property that tries to please however. Older gentleman with possibly German or mid-European accent was wonderful. One annoying thing was that on the morning I left, the one and only lift was not working- 8 am! I had to carry my suitcase down the steep stair well. When I reached reception I found it was because the lift door was propped open for a delivery. At such a busy time for check out, I found this terrible.

"Hotel Stellar Great People"
mlwalls, 30 Mars 2017

Our room was spacious and clean, the hotel has an excellent coffee shop. The staff is so friendly and very helpful. Over our 3 days we interacted with several staff, in particular front desk staff, they always helped, if they didn't know the answer they found out. All in all a good experience, I would happily come again and recommend it to a friend

"Holiday stay"
William O, 27 Mars 2017

Stayed at this hotel. On arrival place looked dated. Small take away cafe next to reception. Booking in was easy. We were early so they looked after our bags while we went for a walk. On return we went to our room which surprised me it was spotless. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.. only criticism reception was dated. Otherwise brill

"Good location "
Luca G, 27 Mars 2017

I stayed at the hotel for 5 days and I should say is a very good position to explore the city. The hotel is small and you don't have a great impression in the reception area as it is small and simple, but the room we stayed was big, with a large bathroom and quite.

"Post Party Sleep"
William S, 24 Novembre 2016

It was an eventful evening. My body sore from the twisting and turning of the dance floor. Legs in pain and agony, ready to collapse at any moment. All this anguish was relieved by the softness of their sheets matched by the cushion of the bed. The pillows as they reached out and cupped my head reassuringly "it's okay mate, I've got you". The following morning, the towels jumped at me, screaming "HEY WE'RE SOFT TOO" and right they were. As I gently fondled the towel around me, my hands confused, only with the use of my eyes was I certain I didn't use the clouds of delight to dry myself. Only in the evenings preparation, was parking a little difficulty.

"Average"
O6727LAmartinab, 21 Novembre 2016

The room was very good, the safe did not work though. Staff ignored you when you walked passed in lobby, even when the lobby was empty. They did simply not have an interest in greating you. A little expensive when considering that breakfast was not included.

"BEST WESTERN PLUS Hotel Stellar"
TheOwls93, 07 Novembre 2016

The first hotel we stayed at in Sydney, a little disappointed at first I think because we'd just stayed at at 5 star in UAE. After the first impression we realised it wasn't so bad after all large rooms, big bathroom and decent size kitchen area and very clean. The staff were all friendly and helpfu. The location is excellent, the bus stop is 200 yards away and central rallway station is 5 minutes walk. You can have a lovely walk through Hyde Park down to Circular Quays or Darling harbour takes about 15-20 mins. Some nice bars and restaurants close by although Sydney is quite expensive now with the exchange rate

"Convenient, affordable hotel with friendly staff!"
hfritzinger, 05 Novembre 2016

While staying in Sydney for four nights at the beginning of our trip in Australia, we were looking for an affordable hotel room with a convenient location. The Hotel Stellar fit exactly what we needed! We arrived from our international flight very early on Sunday morning and after being admitted through customs, boarded the train to get to Central Sydney. The line goes right from the airport terminal to the Museum station, which is just a few minutes walk to the hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an extremely helpful and pleasant front desk staff member. Although check-in was not until later in the day, the clerk stored our luggage and offered to call or email if our room was ready earlier than expected. The clerk also provided us a map of Sydney and helped to get us oriented and provided fantastic suggestions of how to spend the next few hours. We ended up taking the Sydney Explorer tour bus and grabbing lunch, at which point we received an email that our room was ready (around noon). This was so nice because at this point we were quite tired and in need of a refresh. We were very happy with the rest of our stay. The train line from Museum station was very helpful to get around the city, but mostly we walked everywhere. The Opera House and Circular Quay were only a 20 minute walk away, as were most of our dinners. Even though our room was on the first floor, next to the elevator and facing the street, it was very quiet and we were able to get a good night's rest almost every night. Having the coffee shop right next door and connected to the lobby was also quite nice. We ate breakfast there two times during our stay and the food was delicious. My only warning is that as these rooms are suites with small kitchenettes where people can cook, the smoke alarms are an issue. There are signs in every room about procedures that occur when the smoke alarm goes off, so it must happen fairly often. Unfortunately, on our last night everyone had to evacuate the building around midnight due to the smoke alarms (burnt toast, I believe). In fact, the Sydney fire department came out and had to inspect before we were allowed back in. This did not result in a good night's sleep, so if this is of a concern to you, you may want to pick a different hotel without kitchenettes.

"Cafe Stellar is STELLAR!!"
rhysw552016, 04 Novembre 2016

Friendly staff and a chef that has killer talents - this place is great for breakfast and coffee breaks. The chef cooks the best muffins on the planet and does a mean breakfast! I highly recommend the place. Even though I haven't stayed in the hotel, I have watched the staff in reception and been impressed by their level of professionalism

"Nice boutique hotel with excellent staff!"
MPBangkok, 31 Octobre 2016

Saw good reviews on TripAdvisor and didn't regret booking this hotel for my first time in Sydney. The room is clean and quite big for 2-3 people, newly renovated with small kitchenette, which we found very convenient. The best part is all staff in the hotel have been very helpful since the time we checked in, especially Joval - thanks a lot! Location is also good, easy access to Hype Park, China Town, and Thai Town. About 20-30 mins walk to Circular Quay. Value for money, recommended.

"What a Gem"
Hannah G, 24 Octobre 2016

It may not look like anything much from the front but the 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was everything we needed it was well equipped in the kitchen, very comfortable beds. 2 bathrooms both with double showers very clean . Only thing I would say might need a bit of bleach it bathrooms to get some l mould off in shower but other than that very clean. receptionist was happy to help in anyway were happy to print of some paperwork for me with no charge . Housekeepers are very friendly and do a fantastic job. Would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone with the family .

"Convenient"
patrickcV235UT, 19 Octobre 2016

My wife and I come to Sydney quite often , usually on a Friday or Saturday for concerts/theatre. We are not happy at paying $250 for 8 hours over night. The hotel itself was fine, although the one lift is difficult at certain times.

"Coffee and breakfast in the morning "
Rob C, 17 Octobre 2016

Great place for a coffee and a chat. Breakfast isn't bad either. The staff are friendly service is quick and the coffee is the best in Wentworth Avenue. Have a seat in an old church pew and watch the passing traffic.

"A SIlk Purse Inside A Sow's Ear: A Stellar Performance"
Ken G, 15 Octobre 2016

Let's get things in perspective first ... appearances can be deceiving. On first glance from the outside this 19th Century hotel painted completely in dark olive green seemed to confirm my worst fears, that the 8.6 rating on Trip Advisor was totally wrong, and I was spending the weekend in a run down over-priced dive. Stepping into the foyer changed that and the room itself removed all concerns. First recommendation to owners: REPAINT the outside! This is a very successful recent renovation of a old hotel into a modern property with kitchen facilities enabling you to do some basic food preparation if necessary, excellent bathroom and a comfortable bed in a well-presented room. Very clean room with everything you require including overhead heating lamps in the bathroom. Shower had quickly presented hot water with great pressure (fantastic after a long flight needing a refresher shower). Only negative on the layout of the room was that the cupboard and drawers for clothes was right near the door as far as possible from the bed. Located within several hundred metres of Museum Station on the direct rail line from the airport that runs into central Sydney it is convenient and in easy distance of downtown. Room rates were excellent compared to its nearby big name competitors and, having stayed in many hotels over the past few years in Sydney, overshadows many of them. Wifi was free and reliable. A refreshing change from many other hotels I've stayed in and this alone recommends the Stellar. I would recommend to Management, though, that charging $4.50 each for the bottles of water in the room is a rip-off and unnecessary. There's a reasonable coffee lounge on the ground floor. The lift reminders you of the age of the hotel (its movement is hardly perceptible and gives you all the time in the world to reflect upon life in general and how to solve humanity's problems). All rooms on each floor front a small central lobby (once again an old time feature) and movements in and out of other rooms easily heard. I had a road fronting room so traffic noise and rowdy behaviour of people on the street below intruded particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. However, the hotel is located in one of Sydney's prime nightlife areas so the convenience of location to access the nightlife has to be accepted. Generally it wasn't that intrusive. This hotel was a surprise package and definitely worth recommending. BE WARNED: If you are a Best Western Rewards member and book this property through an online app such as Trip Advisor you will NOT receive points. This is not mentioned when you book online which I believe Best Western should clearly point out.

"Great Location, Good value"
kcsMna, 13 Octobre 2016

when booking in the dark you are never sure as what you are going to get and with this hotel we were pleasantly surprised. Yes it did not have all the bells and whistles but it had everything we wanted and proved to be excellent value for money, especially when compared to other options presented at time of booking. Check in staff were most helpful, informative and pleasant. The room was quite big, especially when compared with other hotel rooms we have stayed in and importantly the bathroom was a decent size with a good sized shower. Bed was comfortable and the café in the building provided a damn good breakfast and some of the better coffees we have had in Australia. Best of all was the location, we could walk to everything we wanted and if we needed to go further the train station was just so close that getting around Sydney from here was a breeze. Would stay again if we return

"A reasonable compromise."
marathon308, 11 Octobre 2016

Great location in the city. 300 meters (0.2 miles) walk from Museum station train. Easy access from Sydney airport by train (5 stops). Close to city center (less than a 800 meters walk, 0.5 mile). Close access to buses going to Bondi Beach. Cold service from front desk even if they smile. Arrival time to Sydney airport may happen at dawn and one has no place to go following the hectic flight. Even if there are cleaned rooms available before check in time, they do not try to accommodate. Unlike our B.W. Helsinki (Finland) excellent experience, this hotel staff members do not go out of their way to assist you, guests are not the focal point. Very slow elevator. Lobby is tiny. Floor corridor is compact and barely lit. Shower was spacious, hot water during most of the day. US power receptacle in bathroom. Lighting options were fine. Coffee maker in the room. House keeping staff don't clean the cups. Some make a perfect sheet replacement, some don't. Adjacent coffee bar offers breakfast for a fee. Good service in the coffee shop. In Australia one should not expect to receive a check (bill) at the end, one has to pay at the cashier. They do not do tips, sales tax is included in the price. Free WiFi. Upon check in, your credit card is charged for a significant amount of incidentals, however the good thing is that it remains at a "pending" status, and when no actual charge is followed, the pending charge is automatically removed after 7 days. If you are new to Sydney, we recommend to consider the Free Walking Tour from Town Hall at 2:30 PM (one is expected to tip at the end).

"Not what we expected"
TheRalphHouse, 08 Octobre 2016

We were expecting a much more modern Hotel, but it was still very good. We chose the location to be central to Darling Harbour, China Town and Sydney Opera House which it was but a little too far to walk.

"nice hotel, great location"
docclaireteeth, 05 Octobre 2016

stayed here for 2 nights at hotel stellar. front desk was a pro, i had an easy check in. the staffs were very warm and helpful, giving you every assistance you need. the hotel room was excellent, huge and very well prepared. the bathroom was big too! location, was very central, mostly on walking distance. great find hotel for its price range.

"Excellent Hotel"
NatashaLenina, 30 Septembre 2016

Great hotel. Nice, big, clean rooms. Shower was bigger and better than mine at home. Kitchenette was very useful, and there is a grocery store just down the street. Staff was exceptionally helpful and kind. Location is within a block of train station and bus stops for connections to anywhere in the city. You can also walk to most downtown and Harbor attractions from here. We had a great stay!

"Nice & centrally located"
Sam S, 30 Septembre 2016

The Hotel Stellar provides quality accommodations in a central location. The price is right, and the staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious with kitchenettes and fairly comfortable beds. Recommended if looking for a less expensive option.

"Wonderful property in Sydney's CBD"
ExcellentAdventures, 30 Septembre 2016

We spent five nights at the Stellar Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring Sydney's CBD. It's located on Wentworth Street just below Oxford Street - almost opposite Hyde Park. We used a hotel shuttle service (AirBus) to reach the hotel from Sydney Airport. It provided door-to-door service. Once at Hotel Stellar, we were able to walk to all the key sites including the Opera House. From Circular Quay (near the Opera House), you can easily catch a ferry to other parts of Sydney. Near the hotel are the St. James and Town Hall metros which can also take you to other parts of the city. The hotel is also located very close to Romeo's IGA (on Oxford Street) – a 5 minute walk at most. Romeo's carries just about anything you'll need on its two-levels. The produce is top notch. Then, there's a BWS Liquor Store just beyond the intersection of Wentworth & Oxford (you can't miss it). The guys who worked there really know their Australian wines. Look for some of their specials. So, once again, an ideal setting! The hotel itself is in a stand-alone building with newly refurbished apartments. We enjoyed a studio apartment that was brightly lit and included a queen bed, a table and two chairs as well as a desk with a chair. The kitchenette featured a mini-bar, microwave oven, water boiler and a panini press. It had all cutlery and glasses but no cooking dishes or pots. However, it worked well enough for us to enjoy salads and to make a few dishes using the microwave. Coffee/tea and milk are replenished daily and there is daily room service. Staff members at the hotel are friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend the Hotel Stellar to others! We hope to rebook at Hotel Stellar when we return to Sydney.

"Nice quiet hotel "
Audrey Y, 25 Septembre 2016

Stayed in the Wentworth King Studio. The room has a kitchenette. Room is quite comfortable. Worth the price. Although it's located in a quiet area, it's no problem walking around and getting to the shopping areas.

"Great Little Hotel"
bayerdis, 23 Septembre 2016

I loved the Best Western Stellar in Sydney! It is close to everything...train stations, buses, stores, restaurants, pharmacies...It is not fancy at all, but the staff was very friendly and gave us some great tips on things to do. We stayed there after a cruise and they even stored our luggage for us because we got there before check-in time. I would definitely stay there again!

"Great value"
Dak94402, 22 Septembre 2016

Don't let the ugly building put you off. The location is great close to many things, 2 blocks to the train (Museum station), near busses to everywhere. Rooms are spacious with the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in, The kitchenette is very convenient. Shower is spacious and has great water pressure. Wish there was more storage space around the sink. Nice coffee shop in lobby. Friendly and helpful front desk. A real bargain in high priced Sydney,

"Old hotel, average value"
BeihaiS, 19 Septembre 2016

We just stayed in the hotel for 1 night. The hotel was old and the room was a little bit cold. I think you would be able to find other hotel of better value than this. I booked a room with 2 queen beds that fits 4 people through Hotels.com. When we arrived there, they said my booking was only for 2 people, and made me pay additional 80 AUD for additional 2 people. I've never heard of that in the States, especially the room specifically said it fits 4 people. Anyways, I stayed in Radisson for another 4 nights in Sydney which was much more satisfying, better service, better location, and for similar price range.

"Good stay in Sydney"
Tan Y, 18 Septembre 2016

Very good stay in Sydney. Friendly staff (provide the nearby interested places and map, ideal location, close to Hyde Park, walking distance to Chinatown, Central Station, Darling Harbour, etc....Room cleanliness can be improved. Provide guest laundry, but a bit pricey ($4 for wash & $4 for dry).

"Nice but noisy"
EFH45, 15 Septembre 2016

Hotel is nice in that the rooms are quite large, comfortable beds, nice staff, and good on-site cafe, as well as a great location. However we were on the second floor facing the street and it was very noisy. We only were there a few days so we put up with it, but I'd highly recommend requesting a quieter room.

"Great location, helpful staff"
A M, 28 Août 2016

Initial impression: older, smaller and exterior is a grim colored dark gray. Lift is very slow, but there's only 6 floors. Coming from a newer, larger hotel in Melbourne (Citadines on Bourke) it was not the "wow" experience. Room was nice sized with kitchenette, but sadly no sofa though it had a small dining table. However, location on corner of Hyde Park can't be beat. Grocery store next door and another close to intersection with Oxford. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Staff was helpful, friendly. Very surprisingly, the dinner room service was both delicious and affordable. The lamb curry was spectacular! Breakfast at the hotel cafe was also wonderful, beats having to walk to breakfast nearby that appeared fancy / trendy. Would return again!

"a gem"

chotel stellar is a great place to stay in sydney .close to trains and buses ,and walking distance to major city highlights .It is quiet and the room are large with good facilties ,and a very comfortable bed well recommened

"Wonderful room, excellent price and service"
David G, 27 Août 2016

I traveled with a family of 6. We stayed in the suite and the room was MUCH MORE than we expected... The suite has 3 bedroom areas, small kitchen, 2 bathrooms, dining area.. The location is EXCELLENT (1.5 kms from Harbour ) and the staff verycourteous... The hotel has a small cafe that has a good variety of breakfast dishes at a very good price.

"Hotel Stellar was GREAT"
tigerlilycat, 23 Août 2016

What a fantastic hotel - well situated; staff on the front desk really happy to help you get to the closest supermarket, bus stop etc; and really comfortable beds. Mini kitchen was so handy as we were travelling with kids, and the microwave plus sandwich press were perfect. You could also borrow a hotplate from reception (if available) but we didn't worry about that. Really appreciated the two laundry rooms for guests to use ($4 per wash or dryer cycle, washing powder available from reception for $2). Didn't eat at the café but it smelt really good. Would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Sydney. [NB - kids stay for free up to a certain age, so check the fine print on the Hotel Stellar website as this wasn't obvious on Agoda etc]

"Comfy beds. Old building BUT great interior and service"
Margot K, 22 Août 2016

Great place to stay. Best motel ive been to for quite a while!!!! Clean comfy classy and great staff. Taxis always close. Supermarket next door. Great coffee shop inside. Baggage check. Lovely rooms. Comfy beds here!!!!! Unlike most motels

"Centrally Located"
B1660BIpaulf, 22 Août 2016

Well located, comfortable accommodation, larger style studio suite. On line booking with a very competitive daily rate the process for booking easy and efficient. Only issue was used towels were not collected daily as part of unit clean and it was necessary to ask for fresh towels on the second day.

"Nice enough, great location"
179emma, 20 Août 2016

Stayed for work. Don't let the simple foyer fool you - the rooms are much nicer than first impression would appear! Clean and quite big for the price and proximity to the cba. Can be a bit noisy backing into the backstreets of Surry Hills. Staff friendly and professional.

"Great Location Close to Hyde Park"
Brian H, 11 Août 2016

We stayed at this hotel in March this year for four nights. coming in by taxi from the airport took about 25 minutes and the cost was reasonable. Though not a modern hotel we were very comfortable , our kitchen dinning area was adequate and it allowed us to breakfast and have snack meals in the room. Minutes away from hyde park it was easy to walk to all the main attractions of Sydney and public transport if you preferred that was a few minutes away.

"Great location would stay there again"
Sandylee99, 04 Août 2016

My room was ready before check in and I was upgraded on arrival. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect as it is so close to many attractions. My room was spacious and well heated. Bathroom clean and water pressure excellent. Would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

"Stay away from this hotel"
Wl L, 29 Juillet 2016

My wife was certified not fit to travel by our Gynae (shes 5 month pregnant). Stellar refused to give us refund initially, and in the end offered 50%. Compassion goes a long way in the hospitality industry. Greed never helps. Forget about terms and conditions or cancellation policies. Ur dealing with someone with difficult pregnancy now who had no choice but to cancel the trip. Our airline was very gracious, giving us the refund immediately upon us furnishing medical cert. I would strongly advise anyone who wants to book with them to go elsewhere. They don't give a hoot about customers. Compassion, care, and going the extra Mile ain't in their dictionary. Is that the kind of hotel you want to stay in?

"4 nights in Sydney "
OAFNorway, 23 Juillet 2016

We stayed in this hotel for our 4 nights in Sydney. A good location, close to Hyde Park. It just a short walk to all central locations. We had a big room with av mini-kitchen. Only missing coocking-plates. Most negative: much dust under the beds.

"Good place to stay"
Jack S, 16 Juillet 2016

My wife daughter and I stayed here for 7 nights in late June early July on a family holiday. We quite liked the room we had which was the Hyde Park King Studio room which had a view of Hyde Park . It was quite comfortable and quiet. The double glazed windows reduced the traffic noise quite a lot. It's very close to everything so that was great for sightseeing and just generally getting around. Having a kitchenette allowed us the flexibility to eat in if we chose so that was great. We'd stay here again.

"Perfect"
Kouyanet, 16 Juillet 2016

We needed a relatively cheap and comfortable hotel in the centre of Sydney and that is exactly what we got. The staff are friendly and efficient and the room is perfectly adequate. We could have got more bells and whistles for a lot more money, but this was exactly what we wanted. We stayed for 8 nights.

"double glazing of windows"
Meredith G, 06 Juillet 2016

being basically in the heart of the city the double glazed windows were great. location was also good- close to Haymarket/ Restaurants and other shopping. the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

"Perfect hotel"
ellejay22, 06 Juillet 2016

Stayed here late last year whilst spending a month travelling round Australia. The hotel is located next to Hyde park takes about half an hr to walk to the Sydney opera house/tourist attractions. The room itself was massive, king size bed, table, tv, kitchenette and a really big bathroom. Hotel has a washing machine/dryer. The staff were all really lovely, hotel was very safe. If I ever return to Sydney I would definitely return to this hotel.

"Fantastic"
freshy76, 28 Juin 2016

We just finished a three night stay in the three bedroom apartment. There were four adults and three children. The apartment was very clean and immaculate and very spacious for everyone. The hotel was booked out but not once did i hear anyone from another room or see anyone hardly at all. This place is worth the money and so close to everything if you don't mind walking, there is a bus stop around the corner on Oxford street that takes you to circular Quay. The staff were very helpful and also let us check in earlier than the usual 2pm check in time and also they stored our bags for the day on checking out. Would definitely recommend this place especially for a large group or anyone staying for a few days or more.

"Excellent small hotel"
Ronald353, 28 Juin 2016

Recently stayed for 2 nights whilst in Sydney on business. Great small 'european' style hotel, lovely presented room, good size bathroom with excellent towels. Comfortable bed. Helpful front-of-house staff. Whilst no mini-bar in room you can order from a range of options. Great location close to city and inner city restaurants and cafes. Would stay at this hotel for a short break not just only business. Will do again.

"Great choice"
Alan R, 26 Juin 2016

Don't be fooled by the outside which doesn't look great, the rooms are large and the showers great. The reception area was having work done when I was there but they kept disruption to a minimum. Hotel is in a good location with museum metro close by (though no lift) Central metro approx. 10-15 minutes away. The coffee shop just off reception is excellent with a great selection of breakfast and coffee. Would recommend it

"Well balanced hotel"
Roger P, 23 Juin 2016

A good location close to CBD and easy to walk to almost all sights. A good sized, well appointed and clean room. At a reasonable charge make this an hotel that can be recommended. Note that closest station is Museum not Central which is quite far away to drag suit cases. We found it best to get a taxi from the airport to the hotel.

"In the heart"
Lyn M, 22 Juin 2016

The staff were good the rooms were typical Best western but the location is what you Payton. the parking is horrendous if all the bay's are full getting out of the spot was nigh on impossible but the 30 minutes stroll down to the harbour opera house and the bridge was great.Everything you come to see in Sydney is on that stroll down and vivid was on when we were there

"A relaxed and pleasant place to sleep"
Brenda S, 21 Juin 2016

My recent trip to attend a conference in the centre of Sydney required a quiet and safe place to stay near the function. It was clean and fresh and very pleasant. If I need to be in Sydney again I will definitely book there again

"Good Place close to CBD"
Clifford B, 05 Juin 2016

Stayed twice in May. Right at Hyde Park. Great museum near by. Don't use the train from the airport to the Museum station with luggage-NO ELEVATOR AT THE STATION AND 3 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS TO GO UP. The hotel rooms are clean but smaller than USA rooms, still good though. The new front lobby was being opened when we left. Food market (IGA) near by, quicky market next door. Back side rooms on alley will get the trash man dumping barrels on Wed mornings at 6AM. Keeping bathroom door closed cuts down on noise considerably. Downtown location with some city noise but only objectionable if you live out in the boonies where its quiet as a graveyard. Actually, considering the other hotel prices in the area this is a great place to stay. Go to Bill and Toni's Italian restaurant 2 blocks north and 2 east for great food at real good prices. Try the Oso Bucco. Get there early (opens 6:30PM) as it sells out every night. Most other restaurants in the area are good but pricey. Hop on/ Hop off bus tour around Sydney works out great with the map they give you. Take all day and enjoy the city tour.

"Excellent Hotel (Spacious Rooms), Staff, Amenities & Near Many Sydney Attractions/Sites!!"
Lady4Evermore, 03 Juin 2016

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel, for 2 weeks, in May 2016. This was our first visit to Australia. May is considered autumn, in Sydney, but the weather was perfect (75 to 80 degrees during the day and around 50 to 55 degrees in the evening). I discovered the hotel when I did extensive searches to locate those near downtown Sydney which were very nice and reasonably priced. The Best Western PLUS Hotel Stellar provided this and was a wonderful choice!! The hotel is located in a much quieter area versus being in the middle of downtown where it's much busier with traffic, people, etc. The scenic Hyde Park is right across the street from the Hotel Stellar. The hotel is conveniently located near/walking distance to many downtown Sydney attractions, restaurants (with reasonably priced & delicious lunch options in particular), grocery stores, currency exchange companies and public transportation (buses and subway). There are only around 5 or 6 rooms, on each floor, which is great because it was super quiet. We requested a room on one of the top floors to further decrease noise and the accommodating assistant manager (TOBY) informed us the windows are double pane which helps a lot with noise reduction from outside traffic, etc. There are no vendor machines or ice machines which further eliminated noise. There is only one elevator but it's quiet and since there are so few rooms, the elevator was never held up long. The door leading to the stairway was also super quiet (we were in a room next to it). The room was so spacious with tall ceilings (which is a plus). We had a room with one large comfortable bed, nice size comfortable sofa & full kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, waffle iron, sink, glasses, cups/saucers, dishes, coffee press, coffee pot, utensils, decent cabinet, drawers & counter top space and a nice selection of teas, coffees and biscuit cookies inside a wooden box. Liquid dish cleaner and kitchen towels (for cleaning and for drying dishes) were in the cabinet underneath the sink. The kitchenette was modern with stainless steel appliances. There is a kitchen table with chairs to dine at. There is also a separate work desk & chair if guests need to use their laptop, etc. The room decor (colors of the bed headboard, bed linens, curtains/drapes, sofa & pillows, wall portraits) were superb!! The iron was the very best one I have ever used at any hotel. The closet had space for hanging clothes plus extra blankets, pillows & linens for convenience if guests needed them. There was ample lighting in the room with various options to choose from. There are plenty of plugs, as well (remember to bring your own converter to plug in for use with electrical items from the U.S.). The heater/air conditioner unit has a remote control for use when changing the room temperature and the small, quiet & effective unit is located in the ceiling where sofa and TV were. The flat screen TV was large size and had a clear picture. Their satellite offered a good selection of channels to select from. There is a separate box in the room, by the TV, if guests want to request pay- per-view movies. The TV is placed on a long dresser drawer which was very nice and had extra space for clothes, etc. The hotel hairdryer is also in one of the dresser drawers for guest use. There is a radio in the room however, there were only a couple of stations which had good reception. The radio later started making a loud beeping noise though we pressed several buttons to stop it. We then simply gently pulled the connector cord from the back of the radio to disconnect it and connected it back before we checked out of our room our final day. You are better off listening to music via the internet (the hotel offers free internet) or via your own downloads, etc. The bathroom was modern and a decent size in terms of the shower, etc. The bathroom door is a little heavy but the bathroom is quieter when other guests are using it because the door is a little heavy. When my boyfriend was using his electric shaver, I hardly heard anything with the bathroom door closed. The hotel soap, shampoo, conditioners& body cream were great quality and smelled pleasant and the towels were soft and thick enough. There are 2 floors which have clothes washers & dryers. This is a major plus because guests do not have go outside the hotel to locate laundromats. The machines only take Australian coin and the front desk can exchange Australian dollar bills for coin. My boyfriend went to a Western Union very close by to exchange U.S. dollars for Australian money in order to use the washer & dryer. I think the cost was something like $4.00 to wash then another $4.00 to dry. I believe clothes detergent and fabric softener can also be purchased via the hotel (we brought our own Tide Pods from home to use instead). We arrived very early in the morning and our room was not ready yet for check in. However, the assistant manager (TOBY) graciously offered to hold our luggage in a secure area and showed us where the lounge was where we could relax on the sofas and chairs and watch TV while we waited. This was great because we endured an extra-long flight (20 hours) before arriving. At around 10:00 am, Toby informed us our room was ready and we were glad to check in this early to get some rest & relaxation. There is a desktop printer in the lounge for guest use and a small fee to use the printer (Front Desk has the pricing). The Front Desk Staff and Housekeeping Staff were very courteous & accommodating and friendly. The rooms were always cleaned to perfection and if we needed any extra items, they were sent up immediately. We took a cab, from the airport, the day we arrived. The Museum subway stop is within walking distance to the hotel however, as of May 2016, there was no elevator or escalator thus, guests have to walk up many stairs with their baggage. Since we had several bags, we were glad we opted to get a cab after such a long airplane flight. When we departed, we did take the subway to the airport because we were going down the stairs, at the Museum stop, which is a lot easier than dragging your bags up the stairs. The subway fare is approximately $16.00 one way to the airport (you can pay with a major credit card) and fare cards can be purchased, via a customer service rep, at the airport subway stop or the Central Station stop which is a few blocks from the hotel. They are also at the Museum stop but only via a fare card machine and you must have your credit card ATM passcode to enter into the machine to pay for fare cards. The Front Desk can make arrangements for an Airport Super Shuttle (check the Front Desk for pricing and method of payment required) to transport guests to the airport upon their departure if they would like. The hotel has a free cold water dispenser with disposable cups near the lounge area. There is bottled water in the hotel room but there is cost if guest use that (the price is on a tag on the bottles). There is also a small restaurant with a coffee bar inside the hotel which serves breakfast. The front desk can inform you as to whether or not they serve lunch or dinner. My boyfriend said the hotel coffee bar had the most delicious coffee he drank while we were in Australia. I am extremely glad I discovered the Best Western PLUS Hotel Stellar because it added to our enjoyment of our first trip to Australia!!

"Spacious room"
jessiesoon, 01 Juin 2016

Stayed 4 nights here during my most recent trip to Sydney. I loved the location of this hotel. Lotsa cafe that is within walking distance. Room was spacious and we can open our suitcase without worrying that it'll block our way. WIFI connection was amazing too. I just realised that I got upgraded without knowing it. I booked the Queen Studio but got the Hyde Park King Studio instead. If I have to name one thing that I'm dissatisfied with, it could be the cleanliness of the bathroom. I don't think they clean it on daily basis during our stay. Because there were hair on the floor. I think they only made our bed and changed our towels.Other than this, I have nothing to complain about. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, if I revisit Sydney in the future.

"Perfect"
thattouristguy, 01 Juin 2016

Conveniently located, a block away from heavy pedestrian traffic, therefore nice and quiet. We had the Queen studio which was spacious. Both the room and the bathroom were a good size for a couple. Everything was perfect. I think there are around 6 rooms to a floor and with not much of a hallway, you can easily hear people come and go. However, there was absolutely no disturbance from the neighbours. Arrived at the hotel much earlier than the check-in time and was initially told we could leave our bags in a secure area and come back later, but a room became available and we were immediately checked in. The staff were great, responsive, and very helpful. I inquired where I might purchase a local Simm card for my phone, and I was handed a startup kit worth $2, at no charge. Nice touch. Later, I inquired about good restaurants in the area and I was given a referral card to the "Canopy" restaurant which is a 5 minute walk across the street. That was worth a 10% discount, or a free glass of wine (not advertised). The place was packed on a Friday. The coffee place near the lobby is a good place to start your day. Basic breakfast fare, very reasonably priced and the coffee was excellent. A walk to the opera house will take you around 20 minutes, 15 to darling harbour, and most places of interest are in the area. Museum station is a 5 minute walk and if you don't mind lugging your bags up a few flight of stairs, I believe you can take the train from the airport. The hotel does arrange a coach service to and from the airport so you could inquire about that when you book your stay. I think the rate is lower than if you did it yourself. This is not a resort, it is basic, functional, clean, and safe with free wi-fi. This should check most boxes on your list. It did for us. All in all a very pleasant experience at the Stellar, and a memorable visit to Sydney.

"Spacious "
Jason W, 01 Juin 2016

Room was big and spacious, great bathroom, windows can be opened which is a plus for me cause i like to let air in, fast wifi, good service, good location, close to all the action in sydney, price was moderate but you definitely get your moneys worth, i will stay here again

"2.5 stars: bathroom needed more thorough cleaning"
Human44, 29 Mai 2016

This was my first time in a Best Western in a while. I appreciated that this was cheaper than most other branded hotels in downtown Sydney, but the quality was also a cut below the alternatives like Adina and Meriton. My bathroom had lots of long hair swirling around the floor, and didn't appear to have been thoroughly washed and swept out. Soon after departing the hotel, I developed a case of conjunctivitis (pink eye) which was most annoying on a 15.5 hour flight. It could have been a coincidence, but I wonder???

"Budget"
ClareBear7773, 24 Mai 2016

We had 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel is in a good location close to Hyde Park and Museum station. Check in was easy, although I've never paid for my accommodation in full at check in. Yes I have provided a credit card on check in but I have always paid for my room nights on check out. The hotel also charged my credit card $100 for any incidentals. This will be refunded in 7 days (?). Not sure what the $100 would cover? The mini bar of 2 bottles of water in our room with a total value of $5? There was quite a bit of traffic noise but understandable given location in the city. Negatives: Bed wasn't made properly and wasn't very comfortable. Room was very poorly lit. No towel rail in bathroom, limited counter space and only 1 power point. Our coffee cups were not cleaned when room was serviced. The TV is too small for the size of the room. No chain lock on inside of door. As a female traveller, this is a must. Very slow lift. The positives: The shower was hot and strong. Windows that open for fresh air. Free WIFI.

"Stellar is Stable in Quality"
James P, 21 Mai 2016

This is my 3rd stay at Best Western Stellar and it remains a favourite, go to, place to stay. Reliably clean and tidy, spacious with a kitchenette and a dock to charge my phone, it's these simple things that matter. Fantastic for convenience, shopping, dining and various public transport modes are all easily accessible. This time around I exercised at Cook Phillip Pool, attended a conference at Lunar Park, relaxed at Opera Bar, partied at Oxford St and ventured to Glebe Markets. I used the car parking this time, very very tight squeeze but I was assisted wonderfully by the Desk Manager. I'll definitely be back to The Stellar.

"Great Location "
StuAG, 21 Mai 2016

For a Best Western Plus I was a little disappointed. The location was great and the building is still under construction. I found the room to be a little a little awkward and it appeared to be put together fast and cheap. No plugs by the bed at all and don't touch the water or it will cost you $4 Definitely overpriced for what you get.

"Well place hotel for the city"
881lesleys, 20 Mai 2016

The room was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room and was very good for my 3 week stay. The room service was reasonably price. A short walk to Hyde Park and the Ansac memorial and 20 minutes would get you to most places in the city.

"Sydney CBD stay for 2 nights"
Graham M, 19 Mai 2016

As once a year travellers to Sydney we stayed at the Hotel Stellar for the first time. We would definitely stay again as the hotel room was very good with lots of facilities close by. Car parking, while a tight parking spot, was available and we certainly enjoyed being able to drive to visit relatives and friends. Our stay in Sydney was for a total of 4 nights, with 2 other nights with friends on the North of Sydney. The hotel provided closeness to the Maritime Museum (we walked) and to QV Building - both of which we enjoy. Bus and train was very close and choice of restaurants within easy walking distance.

"Decent, under renovations"
Ginny E, 17 Mai 2016

We had a room overlooking the street and never found it noisy. Almost kitty corner to Hyde park. Great staff. Once the renos are finished it will be a great hotel. There was no problems for us, and we enjoyed having breakfast in the restaurant onsite, as their own breakfast room was being remodelled. The kitchenette in the rooms are great. Would definitely stay again.

"Great location"
karen6490, 15 Mai 2016

We stayed here for three nights and the hotel was great in that it was close to the train and walking distance to lots of restaurants. The rooms are really quite nice and spacious. It is nice having a kitchenette so you can have breakfast in your room before starting your day. Our safe wasn't working when we checked in. We notified the front desk and they told us they would have it fixed by the time we got back. They did, and they also gave us complimentary toast and coffee which was nice. The staff are friendly and courteous. Will stay here again if I am in the Sydney area.

"Better inside than it looks!"
Cheryl T, 12 Mai 2016

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel room...as the outside looks rather old. Very nice apartment style room with kitchenette made our 4 day stay so much easier when we could eat in sometimes. Comfortable beds, nice bath area and overall roomy feel.

"Good base in Sydney"
kimr96, 11 Mai 2016

We stayed here at the end of March for two nights having stayed here in 2013 and am pleased to say it was still as good. The rooms are very well appointed and decorated and clean. We had a room at the back so didn't experience much noise, but it did overlook a rather grubby alley, but we weren't there for the views! The lobby area was being renovated when we were there so hopefully this will improve the amenities. We had breakfast in the café one morning and it was well priced and very nice. All the staff are great. Would recommend this hotel for a reasonably priced stay in Sydney. Don't be put off by the exterior.

"Amazing Apartment"
Morghan H, 08 Mai 2016

This hotel was wonderful. It was clean, the staff was friendly and it was within walking distance of most necessities. There were 7 of us and we stayed in an apartment which accommodated all of us having our own bed. We did end up having to take a lot of cabs to different locations, but it was worth it for the stay here!

"Wonderful hotel - great location"
ABProulx, 02 Mai 2016

My partner and I stayed here for a few days prior to boarding a cruise. We could not have been more pleased. Although it really doesn't look like much from the outside, the room was wonderful - clean and modern with a great view of the park. The location was prefect for exploring central Sydney. Special praise for Alice and Veronica on the front desk. Friendly and very helpful - they provided a wonderful welcome to a glorious city.

"Excellent Hotel"
Faye M, 29 Avril 2016

We had a very lovely stay here for 6 nights. In a great location with a lovely walk through beautiful parks to the main area of Sydney. The staff were very helpful and everything was very clean. Free wi-fi was a great plus point. Our room was spacious and modern. The adjoining cafe was an added bonus. We ate there a few times for both breakfast and lunch. which were great. There were a few minor points which prevented me from giving 5/5. There were slight gaps under the apartment doors which meant that any noise from the corridor was heard. This led to quite a few disturbances in the night. It would have also been nice to have a sofa or "comfy chair" to sit in as our options were either sitting on the bed or at our dining table. All in all, a great stay and we would definitley return!

"Don't be put off by appearance"
maws4144, 25 Avril 2016

When we first saw the hotel it looked very drab and we were a bit apprehensive, particularly the miniscule reception area. When we got to our room however it was a pleasant surprise. Large, clean and comfortable. Disappointed there was no toaster but they had a sandwich toaster (not quite the same) but usable and and they did offer a hotplate if we wanted it. Apparently toasters set the fire alarms off and you pay for the call out fee. Location is very good with a few minutes walk to Museum station, direct line to the airport, and only about 10-15 minutes walk to the end of George Street. Staff were helpful but we did get room servicing missed 1 day but not really a problem more a misunderstanding. Would stay here again.

"Ok place."
Jono2020, 25 Avril 2016

Face value, place looks drab and unexciting (exterior, reception, lift and the floor where the rooms are). BUT, when u get to your room, wow. Very well appointed (all facilities - fridge, iron, microwave, stove, air con, wifi etc), clean, modern and ideal. I chose this place as a budget hotel, and it did it's job. Only stayed one night, slightly out on a limb for attractions, but did the job for me. I would use it again for 1 or 2 nights maximum. Not far from Museum Train Station which is 15 mins from Airport (costs $15Aus on train) whereas taxi is c$55Aus.

"Quite and cosy"
stevniz, 24 Avril 2016

Nice hotel in a great location, close to city shopping and a 12 minute walk to circular quay. Very handy to small supermarkets and railway. Great cafe at hotel with good coffee and nice breakfast menu.

"Great location, big room and helpful staff"
Mac59NewZealand, 22 Avril 2016

The Hotel was undergoing refurbishment of the lobby which meant the front staff were working out of a cupboard. They found it a bit challenging as occasionally couldn't find things they needed. The room was wonderful. We were 3 women and therefore it can be challenging to have enough space for all the bags but we had ample room. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Helpful staff. A great location by Hyde Park. Walkable to Circular Quay. Museum train station very close. Central Station 15 minute walk away to catch train to airport. Great restaurants just down the road.

"Excellent Coffee Shop"
Allison K, 21 Avril 2016

I didn't book at the hotel , but found it after having breakfast at Bar Stellar at ground level. The coffee, esp. the long black and flat white is excellent. Breakfast burger, all types of eggs, with very good whole wheat bread. Ate breakfast here 6 days in a row, because when it's good, why switch? Free wi-fii and you could sit as long as you want. Very good service. Gave them my unused Opal cards when I left. As for the hotel front desk man, he answered a lot of our questions about buses and touring and went so far as to mark good restaurant areas on a map for us. Very accomodating.

"Good location and value"
MayesTripper, 12 Avril 2016

A rather uninspiring outside and narrow reception hides a very competent and competitive hotel. The location is great on the corner of Hyde Park and 4 minutes walk from Museum station ( word of warning - Museum station has no lifts or escalators so if you're coming with heavy luggage be prepared to carry up 2 floors or walk from Central station). The hotel isn't 5 star, but has everything you need and is good value for the location and amenities. You can pop round to several nearby restaurants or supermarkets. The traffic can be a bit noisy in places, but nothing more than would be expected for a city centre hotel. Plus side was extra fast free wifi.

"Good location"
Wingc633, 28 Mars 2016

I stay there from 23 March to 27 March 2016. The hotel is well located, it is adjacent to Museum train station, only ten minutes walk to Chinatown, Town Hall. The room I stayed was about 20 square metres, it was in second floor and facing the street. I could hear the traffic noise clearly. Moreover, I could hear the sound from next room and sound outside my room, such as open and close door of the room next to me, I think the sound insulation has to be improved. I had found more than one mosquito in my room during my stay. I thought they were coming from the dried trap in the toilet so please insert water into the trap if you stay there. The room was has a small, it equipped with a refrigerator, a micro wave stove so I could prepare breakfast for myself easily but aware not to induce so much smoke to activate the fire alarm. The hotel would charge you Aus $1500 for that. The hotel has a restaurant but when I was there, it was suspended due to plumbing problem. The entrance of the hotel is quite small, so if you go there pay extra attention to that in order not to miss it. It has no lobby and only has a small area for sitting. The Hyde Park is within five minutes walk, if you are looking for a place to sleep and not a luxury hotel, it can be on you list. Jump to the conclusion, do not expect too much service from it, usually only one man in the reception counter but they are friendly. It has good location and easy access to other scenery spots. The room is clean. One thing I was not satisfied was that, it has a small kitchen, they did not wash the plates and forks I had used, so I had to clean it by myself. If it was not included in the house keeping, what they has to do?

"Great place to stay in Sydney, Australia"
TaffyLasVegas_Nevada, 27 Mars 2016

Because I booked this hotel without any recommendations, I was concerned if it would be as good as it looked on their website. It turned out to be great! The front desk staff was efficient and very curtious. The room turned out to be quite large with a comfortable bed. Bed pillows were not great but that is a minor complaint. It is a small hotel and the entrance and lobby looked a bit plain but clean. The room had an equipped kitchenette. The bathroom was compact but up to date. And best of all everything was CLEAN!! This hotel is within walking distance of public transportation and the "hop-on-hop-off" bus stop. Great place to stay in Sydney. I would go back anytime. The Internet is slow but free. I had a room on the fifth floor facing a busy street but I did not hear much street noise. (I was traveling as a single and this hotel felt safe which is very important to me as a single traveler.)

"Convenient hotel "
cas65, 24 Mars 2016

Central location and in easy walking distance with the city centre. Room was a decent size and had a little kitchenette. The only negatives that housekeeping didn't do a very good job of cleaning but it was clean on arrival. Entry card did play up. Will stay again

"Good value for money"
alan g, 24 Mars 2016

First time in Australia. If you want a 5 star hotel with all the trimmings (and the cost) then don't stay here. If you want great value for your money in the center of Sydney, then this is the place. First class staff and a great place to stay.

"Great place to stay."
Elspeth L, 21 Mars 2016

Stayed four nights in a king studio and it was a lovely room. Hotel staff were friendly. Room looked just like it did on the website, and having a kitchenette with sandwich press and microwave was a big saver when you didn't want to eat out. Room was clean and well supplied. Windows were double glazed or double cased, but you could still here a bit of traffic noise, which is always going to happen in a big city. Bed was comfortable too.

"Small hotel in fantastic location"
James_Clem, 21 Mars 2016

I've had a very comfortable stay at the Best Western Hotel Stellar. The rooms are more like small apartments with a dining table and kitchenette. My room had 2 double beds and 3 huge windows to allow in lots of natural light. The beds were very comfortable, enabling me to sleep really well. There's only 1 elevator which is small and there are steps between the street level and reception which would make this property inaccessible for someone in a wheelchair. The location of this hotel is superb. It's around the corner from shops, bars and restaurants on Oxford Street. There are bus services on Oxford Street to Bondi in one direction and circular quay in the other. Museum train station is only 5 minutes walk away, which has direct trains to and from the airport, though beware that the station does not have step free access!

"Good Hotel. Good Location."
Mark J, 20 Mars 2016

Nice hotel with friendly staff. They were able to check us in early which was really appreciated after arriving on a redeye from Singapore. The location is very good and Museum station (though do note the station doesn't have a lift and lots of stairs if you have luggage) is just one block away. Would stay again.

"Great place to stay, highly recommend!"
DrFluxOttawa, 19 Mars 2016

We have just finished a four night stay at the Stellar. It is an apartment hotel, very well situated right across from the southern end of Hyde Park. There is a grocery store located about a five minute walk away, several fast food restaurants nearby and it is a nice walk to downtown and Circular Quay. The hotel is very clean, the staff is as nice as you can get! I would like to single out one of the staff at the front desk, Michael (Edison). We felt he went out of his way to help us several times. He is certainly an asset to this establishment. We enjoyed our stay here.

"Staying in Sydney"
Peter M, 17 Mars 2016

The Best Western Stellor hotel was the perfect place for us to stay when we both arrived in Australia and departed. It is centrally located, close to Hyde Park and a 30 minute walk to the harbor, Sydney opera house, Darling harbour and a 10 minute walk from the train station. The room was well equipped, the air conditioning worked very well (important if you're not used to the heat) and the free internet was the best we came across during our 6 week trip around Australia. I highly recommend the coffee shop that serves breakfasts. The staff are very friendly, they make excellent flat white coffees and the bircher was our "go to" breakfast meal.

"convenient location, reasonable price, modern & clean"
mariopB3959TJ, 12 Mars 2016

This is my second stay at this hotel. Was very impressed by the courtesy of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms and, close proximity to the CBD. The downstairs cafe was great. The coffee was always top notch. Will be returning on my next trip.

"Great value, location and rooms"
Nova T, 04 Mars 2016

Recommend. Rooms were modern with small kitchen. Location was great - a few mins walk from subway, some good restaurants and 10 mins walk from Central Sydney and the main shopping area. Lovely area just south of the park. Great cafe at the front- we enjoyed breakfast here a couple of mornings.

"Location matters!"
Bernard S, 03 Mars 2016

Great location within the heart of Sydney/NSW and near the action at night on Oxford Street, the hotel also provides a calm atmosphere if one wants to stay inside the room to work, being able to use its kitchenette and shop at an excellent supermarket located within 2 blocks.

"Best ever"
Michael A, 28 Février 2016

My wife and I recently spent an entire month in Australia and stayed at the Best Western Steller on two separate occasions during our trip. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to all my friends and family if they ever find themselves in Sydney. The ladies on the cleaning staff were outstanding. They went out of their way to ensure we were always pleased with the appearance of our room and the hotel. The daytime desk clerk. Whose name I believe was Pavol is defiantly the go to guy if you need any assistance with directions or need to find a great place to dine. He directed us to some of the best eating establishments in the city that were off the beaten path and not as crowded as the norm This Hotel is just a great place for anyone to stay. And again I highly recommend it to anyone traveling through Australia. The Steller is in a great location to all the attractions, buses, trains, harbor, and eating establishments within walking distance in Sydney.

"Great boutique hotel"
Terry F, 26 Février 2016

I stayed here before (in 2010) and found that it was well located - with bus access to Circular Quay and Bondi & Bronte beaches and a brief walk from the Central Railway station. The rooms have kitchenettes and there are grocery stores and chemists very close. I loved my first stay and this one was even better. The desk staff is friendly - the rooms very clean and comfortable (and high ceilings so you don't feel claustrophobic). It isn't right at the Circular Quay or the Rocks but that saves you a couple of hundred dollars. I would definitely recommend it!!!

"A very satisfactory experience"
PZimmer746, 25 Février 2016

We booked this hotel based on previous experience at Best Western properties and the reviews on Trip Advisor. Our five night stay was e everything we hoped for. The room was spotless, the staff helpful and the location close to everything. We were very happy with our choice.

"Sole traveler"
marybridgetb, 24 Février 2016

A great place to stay, clean room and friendly helpful staff. Good location for me as I like walking. But not far from all the sights. Easy ride from airport on shuttle bus which is Cheeper if you pre book. Cost $22 no pre booking. So pretty cheep anyway.m

"Great little hotel"
Paul M, 17 Février 2016

I stumbled across this hotel through an internet search and booked it primarily because of the number of great reviews and the price. Its getting harder to find a decent median priced hotel in Sydney but I scored a direct hit with Hotel Stellar. Due to flight changes I was an early check in and just wanted to drop my bag off until my room was ready - the reception staff were great and my room was ready. That got my weekend off to a great start. I was impressed with the room in size and cleanliness. This little hotel is conveniently located at top of Wentworth Ave. Hyde Park is nearby, only a 5-10 min walk to Museum Station, 15 min walk to Central. Given how close it is to Liverpool / Oxford Streets I was impressed with how quiet it was. I've stayed in 4 star Sydney hotels that don't come up to the standard of Hotel Stellar. I will definitely be staying here again

"Clean and reasonably priced"
ColinWalker00, 17 Février 2016

I had a one night stay here recently while travelling for work and when booking have noticed a marked increase in hotel fares across the Sydney CBD. I wouldn't normally stay at a best western but after my experience in Melbourne at a best western last year I thought why not give it a shot. The room was close to everything the CBD has to offer, clean, easy to get to, and the staff where pleasant enough although very busy. Just make sure you call ahead of your booking if you need a car park as the spaces are limited to only 4 spaces but for $20 overnight you can't really go wrong. I didn't eat at the restaurant nor did I get room service so I can't comment on that but I would definitely have no problems with booking again.

"Over all"
Eugene B, 15 Février 2016

This hotel is centrally located in Sydney. Very easy for public transportation. It does have some issues regarding maintenance inspections of at least one room. Very poor lighting in the main room. Telephone line was broken and therefore a missed telephone call. The safe did not operate and had to be reprogramed. Excessive noise from garbage trucks early in the morning because of location..

"Hyde Park value"
katylue, 15 Février 2016

Convenient hotel near the action without the high prices down by Circular Quay. 2 Train stops from Circular Quay with a block from the train station. Clean and large fresh and renovated room. Excellent food in the coffee cafe, Courteous front desk staff very helpful with city information.

"Good location and spacious room!"
Love_Europe_2009, 10 Février 2016

Hotel was located across the street from Hyde Park and it was in a good location from downtown attractions, maybe a 15-20 min. walk to botanical gardens and Circular Quay. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, and room was modern and spacious, as well as attractively decorated.

"Great Location & very clean "
GoGoGomer, 06 Février 2016

We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay here. We also enjoyed that we could easily walk to the a nearby train station or just walk down to the many tourist sites. We enjoyed shopping as we walked to the Opera House. The room was very clean and had a nice mattress that we like because it was just firm. There was a refrigerator and a table where we could eat in our room if we wanted. Tons of restaurants nearby too. Free and fast WiFi.

"Great place in a great location"
OriginalUB, 06 Février 2016

Very nice place close to everything. Room was very comfortable with kitchenette. The bar/restaurant was temporarily closed; however, many other restaurants and pubs nearby. Close to train stop (museum).

"Hotel Stellar"
alanmH6783TZ, 06 Février 2016

Great location in former industrial building. Tiny lobby, slow elevator, helpful staff, slightly overpriced. Recommend for someone who wants great location and not fancy digs. I had a unique, secretly located 3 bedroom apartment that provided lots of space, big bathroom, old furnishings. If you have 2 families together, that would be perfect. Finally, within walking distance of harbor, downtown and parks.

"Poor House Cleaning"
T5555, 30 Janvier 2016

If you are a member just remember that your booking is via an agent, the hotel will not credit you with points. Check-in was quick and easy. But despite having emailed earlier for a quiet room away from the lifts and having confirmation, on arrival - was on mid floor on the first room next to the lift. However, it is a small hotel with very few rooms on the floor so noise from the lift or other guests wasn't a problem. The problem was the rubbish trucks on the streets at 5 or 6am in the mornings. I found closing the bathroom door helped reduced the noise. The room itself was reasonably large and a good kitchenette space. Bathroom was also very spacious. Wifi was extremely good. No requirement to continually log in like other hotels and speed was very good. The biggest gripe was housekeeping. They did not clean the rooms. When I got in, there were many nail clippings on the floor between the bed and the study table. The towels were not replaced neatly, they didn't even bother folding them properly. Cups were not cleared and toiletries were not replaced. If you run out, you will need to go to reception to ask for more. The air-conditioning would turn itself off and even if you had the remote next to you, that doesn't work as to turn it on, you will need to get up in the middle of the night and press the button on the wall to turn it back on. The day before leaving, had asked staff to book a taxi to the airport which they assured me they would do. On leaving, the staff at the counter didn't know if the taxi had been booked or not. Just asked me to wait till the time and if the taxi did not arrive, he would then help me get one. When the time came and there was no taxi, I had to go back in to ask for assistance and only then did he came to help. It is close to the museum stadium and hyde park but it is a bit of a hike to get into town. Probably about 15-20 minutes walk. There is a superette next door but no convenient place to eat. The restaurant was closed during the time I was there.

"Great value for money in Sydney!"
Kate W, 29 Janvier 2016

Only stayed here for a couple of nights before we left Sydney but we found it much better value for money than other places we had stayed in Sydney! Nice size rooms that were very clean and in a really good location!

"Good Value"
Mitchell L, 22 Janvier 2016

Room was very clean. Bathroom was recently remodeled. Had kitchenette. Good location, close to train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good security, front door locked after 10 pm and required room key to open.

"Awesome 4-night stay!"
Diana F, 20 Janvier 2016

Stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of December on the last leg of our NZ/Australia trip. The room was great! We had a queen size comfy bed, plus an extra single bed so lots of room to spread out. Everything was clean. There was a digital safe provided in the room which we used daily. The bathroom was clean and modern and serviced daily. We kept our towels hanging to not have to waste washing them every day. Loved the overhead heater in the bathroom, that could be turned on or off. It was a great touch and it felt great getting out of the shower and be nice and toasty warm. The wi-fi was fast, FREE, and reliable so major booking point for us. The front desk was friendly and helpful with our checkin/out and our daily activities. They stored our bags for us on our last day since we had a late flight home so that was awesome. The location was good too, just a short walk from the Museum station. Also, the hotel was just a few blocks from Darling Harbour, which we walked. We took a ride to Circular Quay though on the train; that was a little bit of a hike to walk. Overall, great hotel and would stay there again.

"Everything You Need"
BluePointer, 20 Janvier 2016

When you book a room online, and check out the map and listed amenities to try and make a decision, you never know... but this was a good one! It's a great location and has everything you may ever need in a hotel. It is 5 minutes walk from Museum Station and a good 10 minutes walk to Central Station. It is just off the corner from Hyde Park and at a cross streets area (Wentworth, Liverpool and Oxford) that has several variety stores, two "bottle" stores, cafes, a 2-level grocery store and fast food places such as Subway, all within a block. Check-in was easy, and staff (Steven) at the front desk was helpful. Our room with complete kitchenette was well-stocked, clean and updated. The bathroom was great, roomy and well-lit with it's own frosted window for some natural light. The shower unit was perfect. Our bed was very comfortable, and it included extra cushions. Free Wi-Fi was included, with good connection speed. There were both a flat-screen TV and a DVD player. The heating and cooling system was easily adjustable. A full studio kitchen included fridge, dishes, utensils, microwave, electric griddle, kettle and coffee\\tea-making stuff.... milk's in the fridge. The room had lots of electrical outlets, excellent lighting, an iron and board, an in-room safe and a full-length mirror. We liked having a bedside table on both sides, as well as a desk, so conveniences were everywhere. On the same floor was also a laundry room, which I assume was for client use, had we needed it. We would have wanted to eat in the little restaurant which is normally available for breakfast and lunch, or take advantage of "happy hour" well advertised in the elevator, but both bar and restaurant were closed for the holidays. On the upside, it was very quiet. Check-out was easy. As the staff saw us hauling our luggage, they asked if we needed to store it, which might have been an excellent advantage, had we needed it.

"Lovely Hotel"
JenXan, 18 Janvier 2016

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was nice, clean and catered for our needs. Staff were friendly. Not expensive. Would definitely stay there again. Location was great and close to trains etc. Just a short walk to CBD.

"Great Place to stay "
Hungergame101, 11 Janvier 2016

Stayed there overnight to see a show in Hyde park. First time there very impressed good service, great room, very quiet, good location in the city close to Trains, couple of blocks form George street right on southern end of Hyde Park. Car park is limited and tight good for small to medium cars but they will tell you that. Overall a great experience. I'll be back

"Good location "
fiknzoz, 11 Janvier 2016

Stayed in the hotel on a Saturday night. Room was nice but we booked for two adults and one child, when we got there we were told that it only has a queen bed and we could pay $40 extra for fold away bed. It might have been in fine print when I booked, but I missed it. There also wasn't an option for buffet breakfast as they are upgrading room. Walking distance to cbd. Room was nice and tidy.

"Good location"
BrianNz, 10 Janvier 2016

Stayed here based on previous reviews, was okay place to stay, good location which Oxford st eateries very close, plus train station about 5 minutes walk away. Room was okay, decor bit dated, air con was a tad noisy. If you have heavy suitcases just watch the steps up to reception. The limited interaction we had with staff was good, check in and check went smoothly.

"Excellent value accomadation"
AnicaKerr, 07 Janvier 2016

Hotel Stellar was such a pleasant surprise and offered exactly what they advertise. We had a family room that was very comfortable with two queen size beds, lovely clean modern bathroom and a small kitchenette area which was perfect for eating and preparing quick meals. I would recommend it to families with children. It was easy to get to the harbour area and close to supermarkets.

"Perfect Location, Nice Hotel"
Megi68, 31 Décembre 2015

Very good hotel with a perfect location. Museum station is five minutes walk. Walkable distance from many Sydney's attractions: Sydney Opera House, harbour bridge, Botanic gardens, ... Good amenities in the room, including a full kitchen. There is a restaurant on the ground floor.

"reasonably priced accommodation next to Hyde Park"
Lisa W, 23 Décembre 2015

This hotel is a good choice if you're planning your activities near Oxford Street, or catching a show at the Capitol theatre. We had room on the 5th floor and even though it was across from the elevator, we didn't hear any noise. Rooms are a generous size, with a little kitchenette (Mircowave, toasty maker, fridge, kettle), 2 queen beds and the bathroom had a large walk in shower. The beds were very comfy, although I had to block the IPOD dock next to me as the bright blue light from the clock was a bit distracting. Free wifi was a plus too. My only negative was that the bathroom didn't appear to have been cleaned very well, with hair on the floor and dirt in the grout. The hotel staff were pleasant enough, however when we asked directions to the theatre, the girl didn't seem to know and had to ask someone else. Otherwise, this hotel can definitely be recommended.

"Perfect Location, good price, and comfortable"
Jay A, 22 Décembre 2015

Stayed here while visiting my sister in Australia. It is located in East Sydney and is close to busses, train stations, and a short walk from anything you may need while in Sydney. Also close to many tourist attractions and just a walk from the opera house, Hyde park etc. I would recommend the executive room (not too costly) as it came with a kitchenette. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Staff were very nice, and hotel was simple. Would for sure book here again.

"Lovely Little Boutique Hotel"
ML T, 15 Décembre 2015

We spent three nights at Stellar in a quaint room with a fabulous queen bed. Darkening curtains facilitated oversleeping every morning. Our room might have been noisy, on the first floor and only one room back from Wentworth Street, with busy traffic night and day. But I learned a valuable trick the first night - keep the bathroom door closed. There is virtually no noise from the road with the door shut. It's a very heavy, solid material, maybe intentionally. Use it to your advantage. Our room had a terrific little mini-kitchen with separate sink. There was a refridge, dishes, real wine glasses, serving tray, a kettle, coffee press, waffle iron, assortment of coffees and teas, even a microwave - the first time we've had a microwave in 3 weeks of traveling. Housekeeping even provided dish soap and dish cloths. Our room had a dinette table with two chairs, where we could both use laptops. The room had tons of electrical outlets and excellent wi-fi - really rare in the Australia hotels we've stayed at. I was impressed with the lighting ... mood lighting, strategic reading lamps, sconce lights, even a heat lamp in bathroom for chilly mornings. Room decor was contemporary, pleasant. The lobby, pub and cafe were all very nice as well. The lobby is really small, but don't let that fool you. The shower stall was large, with great water pressure, although there was no tub. The bathroom had a very large tile window sill, which we used as counter space for personal care items. The hotel provided a hair dryer, thick towels, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar soap, and a shower cap. There was an iron and board, a safe, a large closet with extra shelving, and a full length mirror. The dresser had three drawers and two cabinets, so we could unpack our luggage completely. Two night stands provided more shelf space. A luggage rack and lots of floor space made it easy to get empty baggage out of the way. The flat screen had good reception and a couple of movie channels. The hotel pub has Happy Hour for an hour every evening - two drinks for the price of one. There's a lovely little coffee shop with cafe, but unfortunately it's closed on weekends. We arrived late Friday and left early Monday, so we didn't get to try it. The front desk staff arranged for our return airport shuttle via AirBus. The fee is only $12 from Stellar, but you have to pay with cash - no credit or debit. We thought the location was excellent. It's a 3-block walk to the Hop-On Hop-Off tour bus stop, which will take you all over town. It's also within a couple blocks walk to city bus stops. We walked about a mile each way right down to Circular Quay via three beautiful parks heading east from Wentworth. The hotel has night security. You have to swipe your door key outside to gain entrance after 8:00 pm The hotel's few negatives include a hideous gray color exterior paint, which makes Stellar look like a scary dive instead of a quaint boutique hotel. There's no security lock on the room door, and no lock on the bathroom door. There's no fitness room or pool and, while we don't care about a pool, Hubby does miss working out when there's no equipment available. You can't control the room AC temperature - it's either on or off. So if you leave it on to sleep, you might need extra blankets. You might hear a bit of hall noise when neighboring rooms are settling in for the night. We had considerate neighbors, so there were no issues. We had a most enjoyable stay at Hotel Stellar and would definitely stay again if travel to Sydney.

"Great location, price, service and comfort!"
TexasMomTW, 14 Décembre 2015

I would definitely stay here again. The hotel was a brisk walk to the harbour and the central train station, and a short walk to local grocery stores, a pharmacy and some restaurants. I appreciated the safety features, our spacious guest rooms with in room safes, the free WiFi, the coin laundries on 2 floors, the literature rack in the business center and the free luggage storage. Room 604 was great and room 306 was fine. I could not get the heat to warm the room above 72 F. The reservation process via the Best Western website was excellent. Desk clerks were very helpful. We were allowed to check in early. Be aware that there are stairs to get up to the lobby, with elevators to floors. We took the airport's Redy2Go shuttle to the hotel for $22 per person, but I recommend that you have the helpful hotel desk personnel book your return shuttle to the airport via a less expensive vendor. The taxi to the Overseas Passenger cruise ship Terminal at Circular Quay was $20 for 2 passengers with luggage.

"A good deal"
debbiet895, 10 Décembre 2015

I was a little leery when we entered the lobby of the Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar because it was so small in size and cramped with just a few people trying to check-in or check-out. The receptionist became flustered and had difficulty multi-tasking trying to check us in and another couple out. He soon got everything straight and we were able to get into our room before the actual check-in time. The hotel is an older hotel, but it is located within walking distance to most of the main sights of Sydney--Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Royal Botanical Gardens, Chinatown, etc. The Hotel Stellar had all the amenities we needed for our 3-night stay, however, there is no ice machine and ice must be retrieved from the cafe adjacent to the lobby. The kitchenette had everything we needed to make coffee in the morning and warm up a pastry. This place could definitely use a "face lift" as the exterior of the hotel is dark and dingy; but overall, we were happy with our stay at the Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar.

"Low key place"
Nonnita02, 01 Décembre 2015

We stayed a couple of days at this hotel in Sydney before coming home. We wanted to explore the city a little bit. The hotel is small, very low key. The lobby very, very small. No Bell boys to help with the luggage. Very strict about check in time. Because we came by mid morning, they offered to store our luggage and ask us to come back at 2 p.m. We ask the staff for directions on how to get around and they helped us and gave us a map. Our room was very spacious, plenty of toiletries, great shower. Free Wi Fi, which was a plus. Good beds. We had breakfast at the restaurant and the food and service were excellent. Reasonable priced. Very central, we were able to walk to many attractions.

"Great cafe"
Chippie_7, 30 Novembre 2015

We visited the cafe while Waiting to check into our hotel. It was 36 degrees so the water cooler was gratefully received! Wonderfully friendly staff. When my Miss fussypants could decide what to eat the kind wait staff offered alternatives We were undercharged and i had a giggle at the surprise when i went back to pay the difference Tried to eat there again on a saturday but it was closed. Very disappointing!

"Perfect location, great Hotel"
Sharon M, 28 Novembre 2015

We stayed here for 2 nights in early November, the hotel is a perfect location as fellow travellers have said in their reviews. Our room was huge and very pleasant, we had a corner room looking toward Hyde Park. It was great place to sit with coffee and watch the people and the usual city movements. Beautiful king size bed and the most wonderful colours in the room for decoration. The small fridge and microwave are a bonus for snacks and beverages. Very nice, well stocked grocery store (IGA) around the corner on Oxford street- 3 minute walk, also a pharmacy located on Oxford about 5 minutes walk. The hotel is quiet at night not very much street noise at all. There is onsite guest laundry. There are some good cafes around the corner from the hotel on Oxford Street. This is a typical big city neighbourhood with all the usual characters, so be aware of where you are and who is around you. Lots of pedestrian traffic so I never felt scared just need to be aware as with any big city. The on site coffee spot was a good place for a nice breakfast which we enjoyed before heading off in the morning. You are a short 5 minute walk to Central train station to get the train to the Blue Mountains. As mentioned in previous reviews it is a short bus ride down to Circular Quay and the Rocks. Buy an Opal card to make your city travel easy, it is good for all buses trains and ferries. You can purchase them at most 7-11 stores and at kiosks around stations. The staff very very professional and helpful.

"Great Small Hotel"
David J, 26 Novembre 2015

After departing a cruise ship and before flying home we stayed at The Best Western Stellar. It was conveniently located within a block of the beautiful Hyde Park and after taking a taxi with our luggage from the Circular Quay after docking we both walked and bussed back to the Circular Quay area to ferry to Manly, visit The Rocks, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Sydney Opera House among other attractions. Hop-on Hop-off Excursion bus stop was only 10 walking minutes away. Hotel was quiet and comfortable and the staff was very helpful for storing bags both before and after stay to accommodate our early arrival from cruise ship before check-in time and our last day post-check-out flight schedule.

"Sydneys best city center"
Mario A, 25 Novembre 2015

The hotel is located in the heart of the city. Easy to walk to everything, city transportation, train, buses, etc. fantastic shopping within walking distance. The park is at the corner, food all over the place. China town is with in 3/4 of a mile. The Opera House is in Circle Quay and is a short 10 min Bus ride

"Great location, friendly service"
mmcarter50, 21 Novembre 2015

We booked this hotel with AirMile points and we weren't disappointed. It was located perfectly in a central location that made it easy to get to many of the places we wanted to visit in Sydney. The hop on/hop off bus location was just down the street. Many restaurants/coffee shops/bars in the immediate area. Our room was on the 3rd floor corner facing the street and looking out to Hyde Park. It was a bit noisy at night as they were doing some road construction across the street. The room was spacious and had a little kitchen. We had breakfast most mornings downstairs in the hotel coffee shop. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We would stay there again!

"Good location and price."
k8andsteve, 18 Novembre 2015

Brillian location. Train station very close, near cbd. The cafe has cheap yummy breakfasts and great coffee. Free wifi was fast. Would stay again. Staff are friendly. Decor is pretty good for an old hotel - the last revamp was in 2005, but it seemed to look more recent. The only negative was the lift - very slow! Also a little bit difficult to access when cleaning staff are servicing the rooms - there is no service lift so when they load it up with laundry you have to wait quite a while before you can use it.

"Good hotel with good location"
GraceLin_SH, 16 Novembre 2015

A good budget hotel. The room is clean and staff are helpful. The hotel is very close to the train station, which is convenient to the airport and other places. CBD is just in walking distance (20 minutes). There are also many bus lines nearby, which we took to the beach.

"2 nights stopovers"
David R, 14 Novembre 2015

I once again elected to stay at this place simply because it has become my second home in Sydney.Arriving and leaving is always swift and pleasant with a friendly smile and see you next time approach. The amendities are 1st class bathroom is so fresh and full of room and the room with large TV and free DVD is a catch for anyone who likes to chill in their room with a movie, sport or any DVDs guests have with them when staying at Hotel Stellar.Internet is available and the café inside the building just makes the stay more memorable especially where its located at.Sydney CBD down the road as well as museum railway station too and central as well to the left under 900 metres away.Hotel Stellar is perfectly placed for visitors to attend anything and everything.

"Be careful if you have a car"
RonWamberal, 14 Novembre 2015

There are lots of pluses here - well located at southern end of CBD, close to transport and Hyde Park, easy to walk to the city. Studios although basic design and style are good size with enough facilities to satisfy and value is good. However, parking onsite is "limited" which means 4 spaces so that a majority of guests who arrive without planning will find parking a problem. The hotel referred me to Secure Parking in Goulburn Street who quoted me $45 for the first 4 hours plus $59 for an overnight stay and then the meter starts again at 6am. i.e you could easily pay $150 for an overnight park if you checked in at 2 or 3 pm and left at 10am the next morning. The hotel management has not been able to do any arrangements with nearby parking stations as they say they are too small to be of interest - in other words, guests have to fend for themselves and this is probably a shock for tourists who have no idea of finding their way around Sydney. Having stayed in 3 small hotels in the past weeks who have organised off site parking (Russell was $25 at Wilsons, Medusa was $30 just 200 metres away and Old Clare was $50), I think the Best Western could try harder. Apart from that there is little attention to detail. A good plus is that have a good selection of Foxtel channels available (including 4 movie channels) but the TV guide in the manual is 3 months old - they should keep this up to date. The clock was set at the wrong time and one of the bed side lamps needed a new globe - just little details but they make a difference.

"Great room. Excellent value."
EmmsterToo, 14 Novembre 2015

Good location - very close to Museum station (on the airport train line), Hyde Park, the cafés and restaurants of Surrey Hills. Street itself pretty ugly, but minor point. Entrance and lift a bit dowdy, but the room was 4 star - big, comfortable, clean, well appointed, with kitchenette. Great bathroom. Terrific staff. 24 hr Reception and room service until 10pm (I think). Amazing value for Sydney.

"Perfect location for few days in the city!"
LaureS75, 09 Novembre 2015

It was the perfect location for my stay in Sydney, a step away from Hyde park, 300m from museum train station, 250m from IGA supermarket (Oxford St. - Open 7 days, 6am to 12am). I was limited by crutches and could have done a lot of things by walking should I have not them. The king studios are really convenient (although 1st floor should been avoided due to the in-house cafe cooking odors (was my case, but they solved this quickly by changing me of floor), there is complementary wifi (a computer in the lobby may also be used with an internet card they provide (300 min. I think). People there were very helpful and made my stay much easier (crutches) and I do especially thank Pavol and Sinisa for their kind attention on this regards! Coins laundry in the building would have been appreciated. Good value for money the city CBD!

"Brilliantly-located gem off Hyde Park"
K1travellers, 09 Novembre 2015

This is a very conveniently-located hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms. Staff were helpful and friendly, service was very good and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. On a side street near Hyde Park, the location is perfect for shopping, public transport and most Sydney attractions. Views from the rooms aren't great -- office buildings and apartments, but being so close to Sydney's beautiful parks, I didn't find that a problem.

"Nice hotel chain"

The location was great ! Huge room with small kitchen for simple cooking . Great location with easy access of public transport like bus and train . Walking distance to majority of the attractions. Just stones throw away from Hyde park . Supermarket by the side . Helpful front desk .

"Stellar surprise"
Lea-anne M, 25 Octobre 2015

a short walk from Museum train station and Hyde Park. The room was pleasantly spacious with well appointed kitchenette. Good space in bathroom. The downstairs cafe was a delight with fresh baked pastries, very popular with locals. A little noise at night, but that's understandable so close to the city traffic.

"Good location and quiet"
AinslieR, 12 Octobre 2015

My family of four adults stayed at the Hotel Stellar in mid August. We booked a twin and a double room. We were all very happy with the fair price, and the rooms were modern in decor, clean and quiet, each with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. The staff were efficient and helpful. We would certainly choose to stay here again when we visit Sydney.

"Superb Location, Great Staff, Gooooood Breakfasts"
PhotoCouple, 11 Octobre 2015

This was a six night anchor for our stay in Sydney and it is just two blocks from the Museum subway station for quick transport anywhere in the region. Our room on the second floor was off the street so it was quiet and there was a laundry room nearby. The furnature was modest but in good shape and the bath clean, as was the kitchenette. Dishes and some cooking utensils are available. The front desk staff including Pavol, Natalia, and Toby were always very helpful. Take the time to ask Pavol about his interesting history. The first morning we walked north through Hyde park and up to the Opera house and on another afternoon we walked the few blocks down to Chinatown for dinner. It was easy to grab a train to Circular Quay and then a ferry to Manley. Get the OPAL pass and its all too easy. The original room booking included a contentinal breakfast but to our surprise management was providing guests a standard resturant breakfast instead. Not sure why but we typically had eggs and toast. Ask for the turkish style bread toasted. They squeased their own fresh orange juice, which was superb, and the hot coco was to die for. Although not inexpesive, and not too flashy, this proved to be an excellent choice and I'd be happy to return. Sydney is just great! Oh, just a few blocks to the west you will find Elizabeth, Pitt, and Edwards streets which are rich with all types of resturants and shopping.

"BEST HOTEL IN SYDNEY"
Chris O, 06 Octobre 2015

When I first arrived at the hotel, I was greeted warmly by your reception staff Pavol. He allowed me to check in slightly earlier and went the extra mile to ask if it is the first time I am visiting Sydney. He then went on to explain to me in details on how the public transport works in Sydney and recommended me to purchase the OPAL card instead of the myMulti card. I truly felt that he was an excellent customer service officer and I was extremely pleased with my stay in your prestigious hotel. With such excellent service provided by your front line staff, Pavol, I find it hard to switch to another hotel should I visit Sydney again. Hotel is in the central of CBD and just a 5mins walk away to sydney chinatown. Many buses are available with bus stops within walking distance of 100m. Nearby the hotel is oasis cafe. They serve delicious breakfast ib huge portion. Value for money. Not to mention, if you flash hotel stellar namecard you get a whooping 10% off!! Best stay! Highly recommended. However, the transmission for tv channels should be improved as channels tend to lag or hang. But shouldnt be a big problem if you arent there to watch tv!

"Great Hotel"

Stayed 4 nights with family of 5. Lovely roomy apartment - space for everyone. Comfortable king-sized beds. Lovely clean bathrooms. Helpful staff and nice cafe downstairs. Will be back again! Thanks for a great stay.

"Fantastic staff, perfect location"
BigSister76, 01 Octobre 2015

Hotel Stellar was fantastically located in central Sydney, a close walk to everything. We stayed for two nights on a mix of business and leisure. One parent attended a work function while the other took the family sightseeing. The staff were very helpful, even assisting us to manoeuvre our car into a very tight car park. Even though this was eventually abandoned, alternate parking was recommended. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment that was very well appointed, and very spacious...there was plenty of room for two adults and three teenagers! Highly recommended hotel,.

"Nice hotel"
Stephen P, 26 Septembre 2015

Nice hotel near Hyde park. Service was excellent and the rooms were high quality. I was surprised by no laundry or dishwasher, and having to access our room through the fire escape, but we quite enjoyed it. The cafe on site was quite convenient too.

"Good stay unfortunately destroyed by airport pickup at the very end"
th007, 22 Septembre 2015

While nothing to shout about at the hotel exterior, the bedroom interior was tidy, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is well equipped with quality toiletries and thumbs up to the housekeepers (an old lady and a Cambodian origin) who together with Pavol gave me the best impression of all the staffs. It would have been a very good stay, but the whole experience destroyed by a crooked airport shuttle service with zero help from the hotel reception. The service was booked by the hotel itself, so I assumed it would be in good hands. The rate of the airport shuttle at the hotel is $12 per person for a van, and $45 for a direct taxi. As I was travelling in a family of 4 (with 2 kids), I opted for a direct taxi, due pickup 8am in the morning as my flight is 10:30am. It wouldn't have make sense for van since it cost $48 (more than a taxi) and it would round the city for passengers instead of direct to airport. However, upon arrival, it turned out still a van, and the driver insisted the booking was for 2 persons only. I requested him to check with the hotel reception since it was booked by the hotel and I listened to the call being made which specified a taxi (instead of van). Too bad Pavol was not manning the reception (morning Sept 21) and the driver request to check the booking was rejected and no help offered! I was left to directly deal with the driver, and being left with no choice had to board his van. Now the driver is the worst guy I've seen in my whole Australia trip. He was bullying his way in his drive by honking at other cars while getting honked at as he sudden swerved left and right, speeding and sudden break whenever necessary. Upon arrival, he even had the audacity to request for $50 as payment. I didn't make a fuss but I felt cheated as this is a raw deal by a crooked bully airport shuttle service, having need to pay more and wasted so much time around the city that I almost missed my flight that my family reached the gate last at 10:20am. I request the hotel to contact me through email so that I can file an official report to the right Australian authority to properly handle the thuggish dealings of the shuttle service. I have photos of the driver tag (inside the van). I'm deeply disappointed by the hotel service which rejected the help to clarify the situation. Please do not tell me it is not the responsibility of the hotel with regards to shuttle service. If it is so, do not even offered to book on behalf. I could have easily book or hail a taxi with much better experience.
