    « Route 66 motel »

We were lucky enough to be able to get a room here whilst travelling route 66 during a weekend route 66 festival. This meant that the atmosphere was great and the place was full of like minded travellers celebrating route 66! Room was comfy and had everything you needed. Air con worked well. Breakfast was an average motel breakfast, nothing special A must stay if you're travelling route 66.

« Super Clean and Inexpensive »

Very surprised (pleasantly so) at the cleanliness and clean smell of the rooms. For the price, I have never stayed at a nicer motel. It was convenient to all kinds of shopping and event venues, and easy to get to from the Interstate.

« Yes a FIVE! But please read on! »

This is a wonderful motor court in the great tradition of Route 66 on which it stands. Don't expect large, modern, fanciful etc. This place is very clean, fresh, constantly upgraded and remodeled so the rooms are outstanding, very comfortable, and cozy. I love it. But they are small as it is an old motel from yesteryear. A lot of restored classic cars on the property Rooms and office are 50's-60's Route 66 decorated. Great hot breakfast. Room cost is well below competitors. This is my go-to place in Springfield.

    « Very unique »

I was a little skeptical about the whole Motel setting at first. I have only stayed in hotels. This was a very good experience. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. The motel is old but very well kept. One employee told me that it has been there since 1937. I liked the retro look that they were going for.

    « Outstanding !!! A totally upgraded Route 66 Classic »

Outstanding! They maintained the nostalgic charm of the original Route 66 gem but modernized everything so it is totally clean, fresh and comfortable with everything you need. I found this place by accident while traveling on business and am glad I did. I wanted to stay at a Route 66 classic and this is just what I was looking for. I was worried because I have severe allergies and many old motels have that "moldy smell" None of that here. Prices are good, beds are very comfortable - I slept like a baby. This will be my motel whenever I'm in town.

    « Nostalgic Motel - Ok for 1 night »

Stayed at the BW Route 66 Rail Haven in Springfield, MO while looking at homes in the area to purchase. It's a 1950's themed motel; think the original was built around then. It has some nice classic cars parked in front and the lobby is cute. The motel is old; the rooms are very small but clean. Breakfast is just average; nothing special. I'm a light sleeper and found it difficult to rest because I could hear everyone opening and closing their doors. The rooms need to be quieter. The refrigerator is very small and can't even hold a bottle of wine. No microwave. Bathroom is tiny; very little space for toiletries. Front desk staff are very nice. Check in and out was easy. One night is ok if you like nostalgic motels but 3 nights was a bit much.

« great for the stopover »

Stayed here for one night and we were very pleased with it. The room was clean, breakfast was good and the wifi was strong. As we just stayed there for the one night I can't comment on any of the nearby sites/restaurants. It was a great price for what you get.

    4
« Good for the prie »

Good for the price. The staff was friendly and when I requested another room because of the musty odor they immediately gave me another room which was much better. We have stayed there again since and our stay was fine.

    5
    « Historic rooms »

We loved this hotel. It is quirky and historic and takes you back to the good old days of route 66. We only stayed one night and found a lovely clean but somewhat small room. There was everything we needed in the room. As we were there for just one night the size of the room was not an issue. Staying here was a great part of our route 66 roadtrip.

    4
    « Amazing Route 66 motel »

We were travelling the Route so this place was a must see. We were lucky enough to get a room with only a few days notice and were even luckier to arrive on the weekend Springfield were celebrating 90 years off the Route. Surrounded by like minded travellers and those that love "66" it was magical and all faces friendly. The room was comfortable and a good night sleep was had. Breakfast was not all that good but it didn't detract from the overall experience.

« Great hotel, quirky old motor court feel »

We stayed in the Springfield Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven for one night as part of our Route 66 adventure. We followed Route 66 in from Strafford and we found the hotel easily, although Glenstone Avenue looks like a pretty busy road. The hotel has fantastic old world charm with lots of signs, cars and gas pumps to look at. Our room, 214, was quite small but adequate for a single night's stay. We didn't eat out that night but went to Shooter's Billiards and Pub on Glenstone for a beer. Parking was right outside the room which was great ? it was raining when we landed, so good to be so close by. Breakfast was part of the rate and we ate well in the morning before heading off again onto Route 66.

    5
« Neat retro style hotel »

This was our second stay at this hotel. The older style, park at your door is nice to have. The rooms are small but satisfactory for us. They upgraded us to a king bed and there was also a frig and microwave in the room. Price was very reasonable so a smaller room was fine with us over a more expensive bigger room at some other hotel. All the staff was very helpful - especially the gentleman that checked us in. Breakfast was rather basic and the seating area is rather limited so make sure you get there to get a seat.

    4
    « Classic Classy Motel »

Nostalgic Route 66 fans and guests wanting a great value will enjoy this motel. Two classic 50's era cars flank the entrance and you can just imagine the hey day when lodging like this and the "Mother Road" was THE road. Updated rooms are clean, upscale, current and quiet. Large pool and pavilion are adjacent to stretch of room. Breakfast area was small but typical of what you expect hotels along this type. Staff super friendly too. If you are looking for a stay in Springfield or visiting Drury Univ or Missouri State Univ like we were, it's the perfect location.

    5
    « Great Retro Hotel »

Found this place on TripAdvisor. Read the reviews and they were spot on. The rooms are small but the hotel is cool because of the historical significance of Route 66 and that Elvis stayed here. We didn't eat the free breakfast we went down to George's down the street and it was good.

« Great Place to stay! »

We always have an amazing stay at Best Western Springfield, MO. Always cozy, super clean, and friendly staff. Also, very safe and near lots of food and shopping. CLOSE TO MSU!:)I highly recommend Best Western.

« just pass this by »

When I called to reserve a room here, they told me they had only one room left, a suite. I decided to pay 2x their normal rate and splurge on the suite. Here is what we got: - a non-smoking room that smelled like it used to be a smoking room and the carpet and/or drapes weren't replaced. - a "suite" that is a single room, slightly larger than a normal room (not a suite by any definition) - no bedside tables. - no sitting chair (there was a dinette table with 4 chairs in the room, for some reason, but placed so close to the bed that I had to move it to avoid tripping over it in the middle of the night). - an extremely small bathroom, which also had a dangerous shower which is sunken 6" from the rest of the bathroom (I nearly fell into the shower in the middle of the night). - a bathroom sink that drained very slowly. - the closet doors, once opened, would not close again. The front desk staff wasn't terribly friendly, either. Finally, this is supposed to be a "railroad themed" motel. There was no evidence of anything related to rail travel here - not the British phone booth, nor the old cars, nor the diner-style breakfast area.

    « Nice stop off »

Very clean room on the small size and found it rather on the noisy side on main road. However the staff are very accommodating and very helpful. On the route 66 trail so the photo's we took will add to the great experience.

    « Lovely Best Western! »

As we were doing a Route 66 tour, myself and thirty -four others on our tour stayed at the Best Western Rail Haven. It supplied lots of nostalgia! Besides vintage gas pumps, it is complete with vintage signage. My room was comfortable and clean. Enjoyed the free WiFi and breakfast. Lovely pool! My room had a microwave as well as a coffee maker and refrigerator. While this Best Western provides much nostalgia, my immaculate bathroom was updated. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again! Free parking is provided.

    4
« Nice motel in the center of town »

The room was clean and the people at the front desk were very nice. I needed my room early to change for a wedding and they called me within an hour letting me know the room was available. I would definitely stay there again.

    « Route 66 »

We wanted to stay here, but arrived without a reservation. Luckily they had a room. The lobby area looks 1950's era and the bedrooms, although with modern facilities, were a little dark, but it was very clean and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was good, but with very little room to accommodate everybody. The stay was for the experience of Route 66 and the ambiance and I would stay again.

    « Great Stay »

We stayed here for PBR. The motel was located close to where it was being held. We enjoyed the 50's memorabilia. The Elvis room was neatly decorated. The breakfast was really good. We had a group of 9 and we really enjoyed the pavilion. Hope to stay here again.

    5
    « Wonderful Motel »

The hotel was great. Excellent value for the money. We were here for a soccer tournament and we were 5 minutes from the fields. It was the perfect location. The patio area was perfect for the soccer team to hang out. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I was unsure having a room with an outside door, but I never felt unsafe. We would definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Fun, nostalgic. »

Staff is very warm, friendly and inviting. Motel is a throwback to the 50"s, fun. Rooms are modern, WIFI, refrig. and coffee makers. Loved the motel, pulling your car up to your room. Old cars on display, old gas pumps, signage. Just very cool. Located on old rte 66, all car buffs would love this place.

    « Retro love! »

I spent one night at Rt 66 Rail Haven on a cross country road trip to the east coast. I wish I had had more time to spend in the area checking out the Rt 66 nostalgia. The check in process was fast, and it was the only hotel on my trip that called the room to make sure everything was okay. The architecture and retro motor court was awesome! The room was small, but not a problem for a solo traveler. They had tastefully decorated to fit the theme of the era. The bathroom was sparklingly clean. Breakfast fare was better than most. (The biscuits were actually HOT!) But the best part was the vibe and atmosphere of the Rt 66 era.

    5
« Cool place to stay while traveling Route 66! »

Not a lot of frills with this motel but if you want a clean room with very nice Route 66 decor, a Very helpful staff and a great breakfast, this place is for you. It's also a short drive from downtown and many restaurants. I would stay here again if I'm evere in the area.

    4
    « Neat hotel »

Clean and fun with nostalgic 50's memorabilia. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay again. The breakfast was also good but the room was too small to accommodate all the guests. However, trays were offered so guests could take breakfast back to their rooms.

    3
« Ok for the price and for short stays »

We were here for a 1-day conference and overall, it was ok for the short stay. The non-smoking room was in a block were some rooms were being renovated, so there was quite a bit of dust in the corridor. The room had a smell and the carpet felt musty. Thankfully, this tapered some over time. Breakfast was free and was ok. The front-desk staff were friendly and helpful. Worth the price and for short stays.

    3
« Dont leave anything of value in your vehicle »

Dont leave anything of value in your vehicle or it will be stolen. The 400 hall of this hotel is out of sight of security cameras and the back of the hotel property is open to anyone that wants to walk in and snoop around.

    4
« stay and Rail Haven »

Always nice to go to this 50's period motel. Staff are always nice. Rooms are always clean. We have stayed here multiple times over the last 12 years while having 3 kids in college here. the only negative is the price. Seems high for what you get--Except the Elvis room--that's a good value. Recommend this motel.

    4
    « Great Breakfast! »

We enjoyed our overnight stay in Springfield at the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven. The rooms are older but clean and well-maintained. We like hotels where you can park right outside your door. This is one. The breakfast was very very good. They even had yogurt, fresh fruit and granola which I prefer. My husband enjoyed the eggs, potatoes and sausage! All in all a very positive experience.

« Newly Remodeled, Great Route 66 motel »

Great location if you are doing the route 66 drive! Room was remodeled and clean! Staff was friendly and professional! Good continental breakfast in the morning. For two girls traveling across the country I don't think I could have picked a better first stop!

    « Great Rt 66 Motel. »

We were here in May and i came again in Oct. The night person was there again. It's always nice to talk with him. They are pet friendly. The rooms are from the heyday of Rt 66 but they are up graded to today's standards. Clean and comfortable. The pool is out side so it was closed . Unfortunately the hot tub was down for maintenance. We will be back again.

    5
    « cross country trip »

we were relocating from CA to Wisconsin and following route 66. Our stops were "played be ear", We found this one and were delighted by the theme and comfort. A nice breakfast and ample parking were pluses. A little gem.

    « Must stay for a 66er »

Like turning back time small dark room (no room safe ) period features a must for anyone doing the Route 66 , swing pool cold but inviting ,breakfast served in reception which was small but very retro

    « Cute place »

Going through Springfield on vacation and decided to stay three nights due to a lot to see in Springfield and this motel was a great place for us with pets. Updated rooms that were very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast served.

    5
« One night stay traveling on vacation to Branson Missouri »

Stay was awesome rooms were immaculate and they had a full hot breakfast with eggs sausage biscuits and gravy Yogurt bar full cappuccino machine waffles you could not ask for more . Staff was very friendly and helpful with things to see in Springfield and atmosphere for Route 66 is great. Would highly highly recommend this for a place to stay and we will definitely stay here again this was our first visit.

    « College visit »

Went down to visit my daughter. Suite room was nice. Shower a little small but for the money it MORE than suited our needs. Hot breakfast was a hit with the kids, and the coffee was tasty. Staff was more than helpful and the old '50's cars were a nice throw back, although my 7 year old said they were from the nighties... good lord.

« The Most Amazing Little Motel I've Ever Stayed In »

I have to admit I was a little skeptical of staying at a "motel". Thanks to TripAdvisor I was able to take a virtual tour where things looked good and it was appealing. Still you have that past experience voice saying those are just pictures - so that is the best it could be. Well, I arrived at 5:30 pm and the photos were pretty accurate! The only thing the photos don't relay to you online is the super wonderful staff that runs this place. I was welcomed so graciously, and the check in was so flawless I almost passed out! The sign says that Elvis Stayed Here - I not only believe that but I almost wish he could see it now and meet this amazing staff. The website said continental breakfast was provided, so when I went to the lobby the next morning I was a little surprised to see Eggs, Sausage, Biscuits and Gravy, Toast, Bagels, Cinnamon Rolls, a waffle maker, fruit, yogurt, OMG. All inclusive and in the evening they have free cookies and coffee! I kind of feel guilty because I got this room for 3 nights for an amazing rate! (And... This Place is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!!!) If you like 1950's style and a really clean room with High Speed internet, Cable TV, Coffee maker, microwave, iron & board, and your bed changed every day -- Well this is the place for you! Book today, because when the word gets out you will find a waiting list to this place. I will be back many times again in the future!

    5
    « Will Return! »

Great place, great staff, room was clean and decorated nicely, breakfast was good. Loved the history. Priced fairly. Had some late night noise from a young group of people but didn't last too long. Can pull you car right up to your door. Pool looked great but did not use.

    5
    « A route 66 experience »

just like the old days, only renovated!! really enjoyed this hotel; the room was super clean, and the bed was awesome! as a big fan of Rt. 66 and its history, i was sure glad to see this place is still wonderful!!

    « Awesome stop »

The front desk was very friendly when we checked in. The room was very clean. The decor outside and inside was very nice. I liked the old feel outside with the old car and old gas pumps. Very cool to see it lit up at night. Enjoyed our overnight stay.

    5
    « Very Cool Place »

Very Cool place love the history and the rooms were excellent. the fact i could bring my dog and not have to take a ugly room was great. The Route 66 info was great as well as learning Elvis stayed in the hotel as well.

    « Brilliant Route 66 hotel »

This hotel is directly on Route 66, it is the oldest Best Western in the USA. It is very quaint and the rooms are a decent size and up to date. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable, a great location.

    5
« Best Western Rail Haven, Springfield, MO »

The hotel staff were friendly, the rooms clean, the service professional and friendly. The location for was the BEST. You can get to any destination from the street location. And for someone not familiar with a city, it made it so much easier.

    3
« Just like the old motor lodges »

Kind of a fun retro place externally. The rooms have all been updated of course. All you'd expect from a normal hotel room in a smaller package. Easy access to many restaurants and highways. Clean and well maintained in and out.

    5
    « Fantastic Route 66 hotel »

We had 2 rooms for the 5 of us. We all agreed that this was a fantastic hotel. From arriving to leaving the staff where very friendly and helpful. Our room was decorated in keeping with historic 66, it was comfortable and clean. There was a nice outdoor swimming pool area and hot tub. The hotel had a number of old cars and Neon signs in the grounds. A small outdoor seating area near reception is good for relaxing after returning from visiting Springfield for the evening. A basic but tasty breakfast was included. 100% recommend and if we are ever in that part of the world it would be on our list to visit.

    3
    « Fun »

Good hotel and staff Would stay again of opportunity too This Hotel is very close to the minor-league baseball stadium just down the road it is also close to the strip where there is lots of night activity for car cruises and seemed very same and in a great popular area at the same time Xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

    « Classic Route 66 motel »

Was a little nervous about this place but it was fun to stay here. Staff were very friendly. Efficient check in. Room with car parked opposite. Room was clean, bathroom spotless. Facilities worked well for us. Short walk to Georges ( recommended by staff) to get a meal. Bed was comfortable. Coffee in room. Good TV. Good shower. Only negative was the very noisy AC but then it did drown out and noise outside. Breakfast is is a very small area. We grabbed something and sat outside. Fresh yoghurt and fruit, partner had eggs and sausage. Pool looked nice. This is great for an overnight stop but if you are used to more luxury this may not suit. Great to see so many classic cars outside.

    5
« AN UPDATED BLAST FROM THE PAST »

Old school motel with modern appeal nice outdoor pool & hot tub. The hotel staff is outstanding. The classic cars parked on the property are beautiful. The breakfast area looks to be right out of 1950, but it's all newly restored. Easy access on Route 66 to downtown Springfield and the Route 66 welcome center. Cannot say enough good things about this business. Oh, breakfast was GOOOD!

« Star of the Route so far! »

My wife and I stayed here last night while on Route 66 from Chicago. OK, we had only stayed in 5 other hotels on the trip to date, but this was definitely the best so far! However, DO NOT get a room on the front lot! Far too much traffic noise. We changed and got one on the third row back, which was oh so quiet! Lovely big rooms with twin beds which were each a standard double. Fridge, freezed and microwave in rooms for those who want to cater for themselves. Free wifi, plenty of TV channels, coffee maker and good bathroom with more towels than you could possibly use! Breakfast was also good, though the kitchen that you eat it in was small. Weather was fine so we elected to eat outside. Great scrambled eggs, turkey sausage (not so good!), warm biscuits, plenty of bread for toasting, waffle maker, mix up your own yoghurt with toppings, etc, etc. Best free breakfast to date! Staff were extra friendly and the place has a pool and CHARACTER (old cars and Neon)! This is a star of the Route, so come along and enjoy!

    « Amazing »

We stayed here on our Route 66 trip. The rooms are very clean and tidy, the staff are very helpful. The reception is quaint and done in an old diner style. There are vintage cars outside as well to complete the feel. There are some original signs from the 50s as well. Would highly recommend saying here

« Best Best Western Ever »

While driving Route 66 Chicago - LA we were fortunate enough stay at The Rail Haven - an absolute must for any serious 66er. Best Western is offering the charm and comfort of yesteryear and deserve a huge word of thank you from travelers. This is the most quaint, enjoyable BW I have ever stayed at. It was once a non chain Route 66 Motel and that is still how it seems to operate. Amazing neon and wonderful service. We will def be back!

« Bed bugs stay away »

Great friendly staff. Was so excited about staying here based on the reviews. However the bed bugs made this stay on Route 66 the worst. The owner was on site and he didn't give much mind to the fact all our luggage was infested with bed bugs. He was also rude to the management. Most of the travelers were from other counties, so I guess they don't care. I think the room next to us was selling drugs. There was people coming and going all night long from the room. The owner Mr. Elliott discounted my concern and wouldn't let the manager do anything. For this reason alone I have to give it a one star review and will be calling the health department to inspect this roach motel on Route 66. Sorry don't stay here when traveling the mother road.

    5
    « Ata »

Loved staying here Breakfast was good. The staff was very nice. Loved all the decorations and the old cars around. The beds weren't the most comfortable but I slet good anyways. I would come.back for another stay

    « Just great! »

Very nice hotel, charming staff, nice rooms and Route 66 decoration. A must stay on Route 66! George's restaurant next to the hotel was a good recommendation, with 10% discount for hotel guests. The pool provided us a refreshment ob this hot day.

    « 50's is still in style »

I booked this hotel as a little bit of time travel for me and my 10 year old daughter. It is a true diamond in the rough. It is just like walking back in time. Old Cars in the parking lot, the rooms seem to scream 1955. Had a blast! Staff are amazing!

    5
    « Family visit »

We always stay at the Route 66 Rail Haven when in Springfield, Mo. The rooms are clean the staff very helpful and friendly. It has easy axcess to points of interset in Springfield, baseball stadium, the unoversity and other colleges and close to some which are out side of the city. I would recomeend this motel. The deco is great and well kept,

« World travelers pack Route 66 magnet »

Simply not enough room to describe how great this old, well-maintained hotel on Route 66 is, but I'll try. I went to a mountain bike festival with my son and two of his friends, so we got the Family Suite which offered two bedrooms with bunk beds and a king. Now this hotel opened in 1937, but it really doesn't show its age. The beds were great and the room had enough space to store our bikes as well. Breakfast was good, with typical hot options like eggs and biscuits. But the attraction really is the nostalgia, obvious when green neon light helped us pull into the place late at night. Sitting outside eating breakfast beside vintage gas pumps that would never break $1 and a couple antique cars, it's easy to turn your mind back 60 years to take it all in. The motel rooms open to a big outdoor pool, hot tub and a pavilion, encouraging strangers to actually mingle. Lots of foreign visitors here, many who appeared to be renting Harley Davidsons and riding the Mother Road. One morning my son helped a French couple learn to use the waffle maker. We also saw visitors from Germany, Scotland, and Japan. Cannot wait for the next excuse to visit.

    5
    « Elvis suite is a must »

We were here for 1 night during Route 66. This is everything we wanted from a motel, old classic cars, neon signs and restored perfectly. Great pool area which we had to ourselves, and a perfect vegan breakfast for me too. But what really made our stay was the Elvis suite, yes it's a little more than the average room but it's so worth it. Possibly the coolest best I've every slept in. Plenty of places to eat nearby too and a very friendly area. You can not pass up on this hotel if doing Route 66

    5
« Interesting Gem in the heart of Route 66 Springfield »

The Rail Haven is a modern throwback to the heyday of highway travel and motor hotels. The property and grounds are spotless and the rooms are clean. However, they very much do look like the rooms of a 1960's drive up to the door motel. I felt the property and layout gave a resort type atmosphere. The front desk is modeled after a drug store soda fountain and the vintage cars, gasoline pumps, and memorabilia give the property a classic feel. A Mar**** it is not, but if you have a hankering for nostalgia while traveling Route 66, this is the place.

« Visit to MSU with my son »

The hotel was clean! The pool and hot tub looked great! I reserved a double queen room, but the beds seemed smaller than queen size. They seemed more like full beds. Since it was only my son & I, it was no big deal.

« Price is too high for this outdated old hotel. »

We were only staying for 1 night and only to sleep after attending a wedding. The rooms were old and very musty. The musty smell hit you as soon as you walked in. I sprayed room deodorizer all over and that didn't help at all. Around 3am I woke to the air conditioner making load rumbling noises like a bunch a wrenches were thrown in there. So needless to say the night to sleep before we made a 3.5 hour journey back home didn't happen. It was a wasted 80.00. We stay at Best Western Coach House all the time and have never had this kind of quality. I hate giving this review because we are not picky people and thought only 1 night just to sleep wouldn't bee too bad. WRONG!!!

    « Very good hotel »

very good hotel but one thing when we left for a day and came back the room is not completely cleaned. Maybe there was a reason that the cleaner was sick or something emergency happen that day. Though over all the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven is one of the top hotels. They have great service and nice people.

    « Great Vintage Rt 66 Motel »

This hotel feels like stepping back in time! Conveniently located to the college campus if you are visiting a student, great value, excellent free breakfast! Loved the vintage cars and phone booth located on the property. As in the "old days", when you have a room with drive up to your door parking you have excellent convenience. The small drawback is a little bit more noise, but nothing unbearable.

    5
    « Clean & Friendly »

Very friendly people from check in to check out. This is a historic hotel with pictures of the past in the rooms so cool. Freshly painted & updated, very clean & maintained; comfortable beds. The worst I could say is the water pressure wasn't the best but not bad at all. breakfast was good with good variety to choose from

    5
    « Nice Bed »

We loved this hotel. Nice, clean, cozy and very friendly people. A lot of history here. Parking was a little problem since we had large Expedition and the spaces were a little small. Breakfast was good with coffee.

    « Fantastic Hotel »

This place was a great stop on our way from Ohio to Texas. It has so much character. The room was great and the staff was super friendly. The pool and complimentary breakfast were exceptional as well. It's really just a fun place to stop with the retro theme. The price was great as well. If you are passing through the Springfield area, I highly recommend staying the night here

    « Passing Through »

As a mom traveling with a teenage daughter, I feel uncomfortable staying in a strange city at a hotel. I always look on Trip Advisor and read the reviews before I pick a hotel. We decided to stay at the Route 66 Rail Haven because of the reviews and the history. The staff is super friendly. The room was updated and very clean. There were lots of families there, we felt pretty safe. We ended up having car trouble on our way back home a week later and chose to go back to this same hotel since our first stay was so nice. Even better experience the second time around. We would stay here again!

    5
    « A great Route 66 Experience! »

The staff went out of their way to make sure that I was pleased with my room. The first room I was given had a slight problem and they wasted no time changing rooms for me and making sure I received the expected accomodations. The second room was spotless, comfortable in every way, and much larger than I expected a room would be in this historic establishment. The included breakfast is quite generous in its offerings as well. The ambience was perfect this Route 66 traveler!

    « Real nice motel »

Stayed there in July. Very friendly staff. Accommodations were real good. Nice room. Beds were great. Breakfast was real nice and very adequate. Motel setting was real neat and location was good. Good location to tour around the area. Short ride down to Branson. About 25-30 miles. Spectacular scenery down to Branson.

    « Nostalgic - Great for Route 66 Travellers »

Accomodation was clean, comfortable and more than adequate and felt safe but motel not hotel quality! Breakfast described as continental was a selection of both hot and cold with scrambled eggs, waffles, toasts etc and yogurt fruits and cereal. Plenty of coffee and juices. Staff excellent helpful and friendly. Great photo opportunities as well

    « Loooved this hotel!! »

We had a long trip from Washington state for a move to Ft Campbell, KY and were traveling with 2 toddlers and a small dog. The trip was miserable but the stay at this hotel made our last night at a hotel so much better. There is a playground onsite and a very nice pet area. There's also a very tasty restaurant in the same parking lot so we didn't have to drive to eat dinner. All of the rooms are ground level and you are able to park you car right in front of your room. We absolutely loved this hotel and highly recommend staying here. We will.

    « A classic old Route 66 motel »

My wife an I were in Springfield, MO for a Route 66 66 festival so it made sense to stay at a classic Route 66 motel. The Rail Haven has been around for decades and it hasn't missed a beat. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly and welcoming and it all added up to make our stay a really great one.

    5
« Enjoyable Stay at Rail Haven »

I consciously stayed at the Rail Haven because of its historical associations with old U.S. Highway 66 and found the room to be impeccably comfortable and immaculate; I would consciously return to the Rail Haven on my next travel to Springfield.

    5
    « A Route 66 must! »

Despite being a historic Route 66 location, the Rail Haven is an excellent motel with very comfortable and clean rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast the next morning was well appreciated!

« Great Place to Visit - do not pass this by! »

We chose this hotel because of its Route 66 history and we were not disappointed. We loved it from the minute we pulled up. We've stayed at other Route 66 destinations and this one did not disappoint. We would definitely visit this location again.

    « Wonderful Value!! »

I have rarely been more impressed with a motel. I booked this thinking it would just be an affordable pit stop. It was much more. It was a very attractive space. The rooms were super clean and up to date. They had a a lovely pool (I didn't use it but it looked very nice). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

    « Oldie But a Goodie »

We always try to stay at this hotel when in Springfield. The staff is always so helpful and we have never had a bad experience. The rooms are well kept up even though this is an older hotel. Very quiet also. The staff is friendly and efficient.

    « Clean and quiet »

We spent one night here after dropping off our student for college. The price was great and the room was clean and updated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast the next morning was better than any other we have enjoyed in Springfield. We will definitely stay here again. Can't beat the price, the cleanliness, and the hospitality!

« Great place to stay »

After 10 minutes of being there I said, "If we come back through here this is where we will stay!" Very nice place and breakfast was amazing! Decent price too. We didn't check in until about 10 pm but that was no problem and check out isn't until 11:00 am so there was no rushing around the next morning. Loved it!

    « Elvis Room »

My wife and I were headed to Dalhart for a family reunion and were riding motorcycles down route 66. It is not often we splurge on a room, but my wife knows I'm an Elvis fan and we stayed in the Elvis room. The jacuzzi felt good after 12 hours on the cycles.

    5
    « Great Stay »

Staff was very courteous and helpful. Hotel was of the older style with modern décor. Breakfast area was kept clean and stocked through out breakfast. Cool props to take photos with. Loved the stay and would not hesitate to stay again if passing through that area.

    « Great service--value »

Stayed at the Best Western 66 Rail Haven in Springfield, MO last Friday evening. Staff was friendly courteous and friendly. The property is well kept and neat. The room was immaculate and well kept. When calling for a reservation the receptionist went out of her way to get me a good room at a great rate. Then when I checked in the front desk receptionist upgraded my room at no additional charge. Customer service was exceptional and much appreciated. Will stay here again when I'm in the Springfield area.

    « You have a great employee »

On July 16, 2016 we had the pleasure to stay at the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven. We where traveling to the Royal Ranger Camporama in Eagle Rock, Mo and stayed the night at your Motel. I am writing this note to let you know how great my grandsons and I where treated by your employee Medallia, she was kind and pleasant and really knew her stuff and was able to get us to our room with little delay. When I asked her for directions she gave us a map and the directions where spot on. Please let her know that after a long day of driving she was a absolute delight to deal with. Thanks Reno Cerri PS The breakfast was GREAT!

« One Of The Best »

On a Route 66 trip, I knew I had to stay at the Rail Haven, a long time icon in Springfield, Missouri. It is ideally situated on the eastern side of Springfield, making it easy to get downtown. Glenstone is a main thoroughfare with many restaurants and services. The Rail Haven is one of the "park at your door" motels, of the type I prefer, and unfortunately, it is getting harder and harder to find, especially in good condition and repair, as is the Rail Haven. Staff is exceptional, being well trained, friendly, and courteous. The girl who checked me in, although busy, made me feel that I was the only customer. She never rushed me, answer all my questions regarding directions, and restaurant suggestions. The room, while being from another era, was clean and comfortable, with all amenities functioning as they should. Good heat/ac unit, that was quiet and capable, cooling the room on a 90 degree plus day. Bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom was also meticulously clean, with good water pressure, and ample hot water. The morning breakfast was in the current form of hot eggs, bacon and sausage. Cold cereal, fruits, breads and yogurts. Coffee was excellent. Overall, I was very pleased with the Rail Haven; it exceeded all expectations.

    « Vintage motel »

We enjoy history and this motel has it. Elvis stayed there in 1956 and it's located on the Historic Route 66. While it still has the vintage charm, the rooms are updated and nicely decorated. My only issue was with the a/c and mini frig. The room was a tolerable temperature but the a/c would not have kept up if the outside temp had been hotter. The mini frig needs to be elevated so the door doesn't hit the carpet edge. I reported to a/c when leaving. Very friendly staff made us feel welcome. We will stay here again.

« Great Hotel and Wonderful Price »

Loved this hotel. Staff was so friendly at check in, the room was clean and I've never stayed at a hotel that was so quiet. It was fun to stay at a hotel on the old Route 66. I didn't swim but others were enjoying the pool and heard the breakfast was really good as well.

    5
    « Great little hotel »

Hotel is so RETRO. I loved it!!!! This is located right off the Mother Road, Route 66. I fully expected a LONG and LOUD night since this is located right off Route 66. I was pleasantly surprised. The only sounds I heard were my husband's lovely snores. Rooms are very quiet. The rooms are quite small, but that is too be expected since it is a refurbished 1950's hotel. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The staff was super friendly. Made me feel very welcome. I will stay here again. My only real complaint would be the parking lot is very tight. I drive a extended cab pickup and it was tough parking. Parking spaces do not work for REAL vehicles. ;) Fortunately I was able to snag one of three parallel parking places available.

    3
    « Nice older hotel »

This is a nice older hotel that has received some nice updates. The rooms are small but function well. My only complaint is that the beds are very firm, which is not what I like personally. I have to give kudos to the housekeeping staff for being honest, I had mistakingly left my iPad there and they called me shortly after I checked out to notify me of that, I was very grateful for their honesty.

    5
    « Something different, Nostalgic »

Friendly staff. We were greeted with smiles and they were prompt about the check in process, good complimentary breakfast, Very clean and odor free, quaint rooms. Kind of noisy at night but that's because of the location.

« Both Historic and Great Place to Stay »

Not only is this a great motel, it is also a Route 66 historic icon! The staff is super friendly and service is great. This is my choice hotel when staying overnight in Springfield, MO! If you stay in Springfield then this is the place for you, your family, associates and friends!

    2
« Elvis may have stayed here, but he didn't stay for breakfast »

The toilet ran all night. No big deal, actually, but it speaks to the fact that neither housekeeping nor whoever checks housekeeping caught it. The "refrigerator" was ridiculous. I'm 70, and I don't need to crawl under a desk to even see the thing. Moreover, I could never get it to come on; again, I have to learn how it works on my hands and knees. There were no open outlets for phone and laptop chargers. Ridiculous. Again, I'm 70, and I have to crawl under a desk to swap plugs out of existing outlets to charge my electronics. NO DESK LIGHT. I've never seen a cheap-up this bad in any motel at any price point. Breakfast was beautifully presented in a lovely breakfast nook, with windows on three sides. The contents, however, were the worst I've ever encountered at a Best Western. The eggs were the usual gunge, but these literally floated on water and had to be drained to put on the plate. The biscuits were accompanied by what was proudly labelled "meatless gravy." Really? Biscuits and flavored water, thickened by cornstarch? Then, again so labelled, the "turkey sausage." These are difficult to describe: they looked like little cylinders of grey sponge, were served (at 7:30 in the morning) at room temperature, and had been heated in water or by microwave. There were make-it-yourself waffles, as are now common--these were from a new vendor, and were less than half the size of the usual, about the size of coasters. The room was spotlessly clean, and the work that has been done over the years to keep this ancient property operating is commendable, with flawless maintenance--until you get to the bathroom. There, the curtain rod is secured by two strange-looking metal plates, which were pulled away from the wall, one presenting a sharp edge to someone reaching for the curtain. At some time in the past, something in an elongated diamond pattern was removed from the wall, and four frayed holes remain where the fasteners were. This place needs to stop living on its considerable reputation and take a long look at what they're doing.

    « Dinner Ride »

great place to stay all the people we so friendly we had a large group of motorcycles with us some from out of town we were riding all day it was very hot we had gotten back late at night we wanted to go swimming they keep the pool open for us it felt so good everybody was happy

« Great stay on the Mother Road »

Glad that we discovered this charming Route 66 era motel, which retained a lot of the original flavor along with modern amenities. Our room was clean and comfortable, though we would have preferred a refrigerator to a wine cooler, and the air conditioner was a little noisy. Nice selections on the breakfast buffet.

    5
    « Fantastic Renovated Motel »

This Motel is very clean, well maintained renovated very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was hot and had a wide assortment to chose from. Very nicely done. the staff is exceptional and even recommended a restaurant for dinner.

« Quality at an affordable price »

The price was great, location good, room decor was updated, bed extremely comfortable, breakfast good, staff excellent. The air conditioner was noisy during the night, but it keep the room very cool. I would definitely return to this location in the future.

    5
    « Great Stay »

Nice décor 1950s style with a couple of display vintage cars. Individual rooms, nice pool and covered gathering space. Good location for visiting Springfield. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was unexpectantly nice since lobby is small (1950s style).

    5
    « Such a Welcoming Place »

Walked into Reception and we had a great welcome. Lovely chat with staff who gave great advice. Love the location right on Route 66. Loved the vintage cars outside. Our room was a great size - very clean and comfortable. Great nights sleep in king size bed. Our room was close to the street but we had no problems with Street noise. Love the outdoor pool which was very clean. Complimentary breakfast was great - real scrambled eggs not the plastic tasting sort you get in some places. Have enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend it.

« Step back in time »

Rail Haven is a superb example of the perfect Route 66 place to stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms are clean and decorated in Art Deco design which takes you back in time. Even though on main road, you could not hear the traffic in your room. A very comfortable stay. The continental breakfast in The Diner in the morning is free. Plenty to choose from for all tastes. I love this motel, it made you feel like you travelling Route 66 back in the day

« Very nice place to stay »

    « Best hotel ever! »

Courteous staff, great pool/jacuzzi. Clean rooms. Fast internet. Great breakfast options. Great little place that has charm and cleanliness. 100% suggest staying at rail haven if in, or passing through the area!

    « Quaint but updated »

We ended up in a different room than I reserved but all was good. Room is updated and all mechanicals worked well. Breakfast was sufficient and typical continental items. We didn't try the pool but it looked clean and well controlled. Staff was very friendly.

    5
« Stop here on your Rt. 66 trip! »

Amazing staff and CLEAN rooms. I did not know what to expect when booking for this low rate. It was nostalgic with the old cars from the 50s and the old gas pumps. People took selfies in front of them. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

    5
    « It's all about Maintenance »

I'm 71 and this motel is exactly the way I remember motels being when I was a kid - except updated with new TV's, internet, etc. This place certainly must have had a lot of TLC over the years to be in this great shape. We found the breakfast to be especially interesting. The area was so, so, small - but they did an amazing job providing a good variety of food efficiently. Of course you had the choice to take it back to your room or use the nice pavilion by the pool. So, overall this was one of our "perfect picks" on our Rt. 66 trip.

« After Your Kicks, Get a Good Night's Sleep on Route 66 »

As seniors who traveled with our parents in the 50's, we loved this retro "motor court" on Route 66 in Springfield, MO. Old cars on display, the pool out by the highway, and all rooms on ground floor opening to the parking lot. Retro looks, but all updated and comfortable inside - including a leather recliner! If we ever go through Springfield again, this will be our first choice!

    5
    « Updated Old Motel »

This motel is an excellent value. Clean, updated rooms, fridge, microwave and most importantly a comfortable bed. We ended up here as we are traveling with pets. The entire place has a nostalgic feel about it. Some folks claim that Elvis stayed here at some point, but I can't verify that claim. Breakfast is served in the clean and retro dining area. Would we stay here again? Yes, absolutely. Oh, and excellent, free wifi.

    5
    « Nice place »

Springfield is our half-way stopping place on trips to visit family. We opted to try the Rail Haven on our return trip after a disappointing stay at a different motel on the first leg of the trip. Since we like being able to park outside of our motel room, we were looking for a motel that offered that. The Rail Haven offered that and lots more. Check-in was very fast. The room was nicely done (enjoyed the old photos) and very clean. Breakfast started early, even on a weekend. (They even offer breakfast-to-go bags.) The grounds were clean and upkeep was excellent. It is worth the drive from I-44. We will be back!

    4
    « Rider Friendly »

Always stay here when riding thru or visiting, nice for bikes and has a really satisfying breakfast. People are great, very helpful and fun to talk too. Close to everything including highway. Will continue to tell all friends about this place, very relaxing.

« Trip to visit family »

We absolutely loved our stay at the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven! It was the cleanest hotel room I have ever experienced. I even had to move my bedside table to reach the outlet and there wasn't any dirt or dust behind it. I am very picky about where I take my family and this was, by far, the BEST!! Can't wait to go back :)

« Missou's The Name Of My Latest Flame »

Talk about a throwback. Rooms are adequate with fun tributes to Elvis. The welcome desk was extremely friendly and welcoming. Some of the clientele are a bit Cletus but that only adds to the experience. Stay here if you're visiting town stay here.

    « Great hotel »

Our stay at Rail Haven was fantastic from the time we checked-in. Upon arrival we were met by a smiling face "Adam". He was more than helpful with directions and advice. All other staff members were courteous and polite. The hotel is very well kept, quiet, and is a hidden gem. The outdoor sitting area is a nice relaxing place to sit and visit with other travelers, and an added plus is the television located in the outdoor area.

    5
« Blast from the Past »

Enjoying staying here as we are older folks and love the single units on ground floor. Very friendly staff. The coffee pot didn't work, but I didn't report it...no big deal. The check out clerk made a note and said they would take care of it. Fun place. I would recommend this motel to friends and family.

    5
    « One night stay. »

Came across this treasure on trip advisor, all reviews were so good so decided to go ahead and book online a couple of hours before we would arrive. When we got there, Adam at front desk was SO helpful. He found my reservation was on the next day but said there was no problem he could fix that. Just took a minute. The room was small but very nice and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and was supplied well with toiletries and towels. I would definitely stay here again. And I would highly recommend it. Plus it was a very reasonable rate!

    « Don't Drive By! »

It was late and we were looking for a place to just spend the night. We came across the reviews and it said it had vacancies so we sought it out from I-44. As we drove we thought we should have stayed closer to the Interstate but once we arrived were happy we didn't. Daniel, the night clerk, was so inviting and the entry was warm and welcoming. They even have some older vehicles staged around the outside to bring it back to the '50 era. The pool and hot tub stayed open a little later to accommodates late arriving guests, so that was very nice. We loved parking right outside our door and not having to deal with stairs! The room was clean and had fridge, microwave, iron, hairdryer, coffee pot and all the items you'd expect. The bathroom was immaculate. The only issue was the satellite. The weather was bad and there was no signal. The breakfast included waffles, yogurt, toast, bagels, biscuits & gravy, sausage & eggs, juice and a variety of cereal. They even had a capacinno machine which was greatly appreciated. The inside seating was limited, but they supplemented it with sever tables and chairs outside. Overall a very comfortable stay, especially if you enjoy the feel of a old Route 66 drive-up motel.

    « Perfect stay »

We had stayed at a cheaper hotel in Springfield the night before and now this is our new regular hotel for staying at in town. We pulled in and wondered if there were any rooms available as there were lots of cars, several of them were old classic cars. We had been tired and sore from all the walking we had done in Dayton earlier that day so we decided to spend a bit more than we usually would and got the king sized bed with the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. We get in our room and we were thrilled to have pictures of Elvis on the walls! I can only imagine what other decor is in the other rooms. The tub was so wonderful to relax in. The bed was a little stiffer than I like but I slept straight through without waking til the morning. Since we spent a lot more on the room than we usually would, we both had jacuzzi time in the morning and then got some breakfast from the lobby of the main building. We like the charm of whole place and it was even more wonderful getting to see all the old cars that a group was driving. They were all shipped from Europe, most of the people were from Scandinavian countries and they were driving from New York to Chicago to L.A. and driving Route 66. The only complaint I could have is that there was a spider in the tub that looked like a brown recluse so be sure to shake out towels and check the sheets before using them.

    5
    « Love the patio »

Great, reasonable, fun option! The outside patio was used the entire stay by various groups - including a biker group from Germany - what a hoot! Staff was very friendly and room was clean and cool - both temp and decorations!

« Great business stay alternative »

Decided to give this gem a chance and take a break of the common conglomerate hotel. Rooms are clean, fresh, tidy and customer service fantastic. I will stay here again especially being able to sit outside room and catch up on some work on a nice cool evening while people watching. Drive up rooms not a problem, just a great historic hotel worth checking out if looking for an alternative. Outdoor pavilion with Hughes flat screen ideal for family gatherings or business after-hour get togethers.

    « Wonderfully restored 50's motor court »

Nice updated rooms; we were given a location on the back side where it was very quiet. The breakfast was very nice and everyone we had contact with at the front desk were so nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend this motel.

    « Route 66 »

It's a lovely nostalgic place off a main road with a lovely little pool, we had 2 rooms one basic but ok, and other that smelt of damp, the rooms were sufficient though, lovely little bits of memorabilia on site so overall was ok, enjoyed the fireflies at night on the grounds

    « Summer vacation on Route 66 »

Our family enjoyed our stay on the mother road at Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven. This historical spot was full of memorabilia of the past. We stayed in a two room suite with a bunk room which was perfect for our kids. The swimming pool and spa fit the bill and the location was close to Springfield amenities. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. If you are going to Springfield this is a great place to stay.

    « Fantastic route66 vibe »

Stayed here for one night during our route66 vacation. The guy on reception when we checked in was amazing. Great customer service and very helpful. Room was clean and quaint. Breakfast was good and the seating area is designed as an old diner. Even though the main road is close we heard no traffic once the door was closed. Small fridge in room and great air con unit which was needed!

« Fun visit to the past »

This motel is just what it says it is -- a Route 66 throwback. The motel has 2 1950's cars parked out front. It is a one story layout like a 1950's motel. The rooms are small, but neat and clean with updated amenities. The breakfast was very good.

Lovely place kept up with the history of this famous route but have renovated to allow modern technology Service was fab and after a mix up with our rooms front desk staff called to make sure we were ok Beds not the most comfortable but shower is great and offers real power Tea coffee etc in room Air conditioning is very noisy and kept waking us up throughout the night Rooms are like old fashioned chalets in blocks but we didn't hear any noise from neighbours Huge biker group were here and we thought there would be some noise but it was extremely quiet Pool and hot tub a nice touch Breakfast is very well catered and offers something for everyone although breakfast room is tiny there is plenty of seating outside near the pool area

« Step Back in Time »

This is a one level motel reminiscent of the old route 66 days-which is the idea. Park next to your room. The staff is very cheerful . The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If I had a suggestion about the room I would recommend a larger bar of soap for the shower. The breakfast room is off of the lobby. The breakfast was good-eggs, turkey sausage, etc. If there are not enough tables there is a covered pavilion on the property with tables. We did not use the outdoor pool but it looked clean. This motel is a good value.

« Love it! Will stay here again. »

This is an excellent, affordable hotel with fascinating historical touches. The original buildings are from 1938, and there is a Route 66 1950's theme. The staff were all super nice. I loved our room! While the room wasn't large, the little touches throughout made it as nice for me as a room three times the price (see pictures). They also have a 1950's diner-themed lobby and breafast area. They have an outdoor pool and a really nice pavilion with tables and chairs and TV. I highly recommend this place for Springfield!

    « Nice little hotel »

I found Real Haven to be an interesting piece of history. Still set up like a motel from days gone by with modern amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place was clean. Breakfast was better than average motel stuff and there is shady outside seating. I'd go back.

« Excellent place to stay »

Very friendly. Happy to see you. The breakfast was very good. All the staff was very friendly, especially the Asst. Mgr. Room was clean. Neat vintage memorabilia throughout. There was nothing to complain about. Nice pool and hot tub.

    « Awsome Service »

Had a little trouble with the door handle on my room, a little expected from a older hotel, The front desk was on top of it and had me fixed up in no time. I stay in hotels more nights out of the year than I stay at home and I would highly recommend this to any one. Very friendly and Very nice rooms, better than most BW that I have stayed in.

Family fun at historical Route 66 motel. Excellent service by front desk. Very friendly staff ... Adam and Danielle . Room was very clean. Wanted our kids to experience some history and they did. Reminded me of vacationing with my parents when I was a kid. Great memories! Will stay again on our next trip to Springfield . Convenient to sites we wanted to see.

    « a blast from the past »

A archetypal 50/60 American motel with each of the rooms themed accordingly. Very pleasant, clean and tidy with very helpful staff. The whole show is geared around Route 66 and the history of the locality.

    « Great Place - very nostalgic »

It was a trip back it time. It is very nostalgic and was very historical. The rooms were clean and they served a hot breakfast. Jessica was without a doubt the best hotel desk clerk we have ever experienced. Will definitely go back!!

    « Clean and Okay »

My husband and I stayed one night and it was okay. Positives: VERY neat and clean, very friendly and efficient staff, comfortable bed, cute decor, typical motel breakfast was very fresh. Negatives: air conditioner unit was loud and woke us when it kicked on several times, smoking allowed in pool area which is a big turn-off for us, small sized room ( we had a single queen), not so cool and very small room refrigerator. We were glad we stayed in an original Route 66 motel, but might choose differently next time.

« Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven »

Very interesting historical venue. Awesome décor focused on Route 66 history related to Springfield. Must have been a classic car show in town, as there were lots of custom and classis cars in the parking lot.

« Great place for those looking for nostalgia »

This is a very nice hotel, actually a refurbished and well-maintained "motel" from the old days where your room opens to the outside, you can park right outside your room, and sit on the patio to read or visit with other guests. The rooms are a little small given today's standard, but it has all of the current expectations, TV, Cable, mini-refrigerator, microwave, internet, and included breakfast.

    « Great stay/blast from the past! »

We were starting a cross-country trip, and this hotel was our first choice. I booked it because it was not out of the way (it's near the main highways), had good reviews, and a free breakfast. We were so pleased with our stay. They have done a great job embracing the Route 66 heritage of this hotel. The room was quiet, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. In addition, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We even took a few photos with the 50s car and phone booth out front.

« The best breakfast of our trip! »

We loved this hotel from the moment we drove up. It still looks much like it must have back in the 1950s when Elvis Presley stayed here with his mom (ask the staff for details; you can even stay in the room Elvis stayed in!). It is a motor court style, so you park directly outside of your room. Since there were 5 of us (3 adults, 1 child, and a baby), we chose the family room. It had a king bed in the main room and a separate room with a bunk bed with a twin on top and double on bottom. This small room would have been PERFECT and so much fun for kids, but my parents slept on the bottom bunk and were miserable all night. The double bed was actually two twins that were pushed together, causing mom and dad to sink into the "hole" in the middle all night. In addition, the mattresses were horribly uncomfortable. This being said, the room would have been perfect for kids who don't care much about the comfort of mattresses yet. Next time we go, we'll keep this in mind. The air conditioner in this small room was also very noisy, so overall my parents got no sleep. Breakfast was the best we had on our 9-day cross-country trip. The waffles were great, and the offerings were plenty and filling. The front desk staff was both friendly and informative. We had a great stay!

    « Very Nice!!!! »

The hotel staff was extremely friendly. Our room was quite large so there was plenty of room to move around. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable. Parking is right outside the door so moving luggage was easy. The outside door was secure so felt safe inside.

    « Great route 66 motel »

This route 66 themed motel was a solid choice and reasonably priced. Located a short drive south of I44 it offers a nice change of pace from the standard chain hotels. Our room was clean and missing no amenities. The staff was super friendly. The rooms are themed but only lightly - not enough to distract or interfere with the stay. For collectors, they let you keep the themed room keys. The rooms have outside doors but parking was close so hauling luggage was easier than normal. The door was solid and we felt safe.

    « Down memory lane. »

This is the old motor inn that was common before the interstate highway system was built by Eisenhower administration in the 60's and 70's. This property has been completely renovated and is in excellent condition. I love these older properties because they are off the beaten path, usually are very quiet and are easy access from you car or bike. Our stay was uneventful, they type I enjoy and very quiet.

    5
    « great stopping place »

We stopped en route to St. Louis - found this motel in the AAA book - were delighted that a historic motel was available and highly rated - it was a good clean place, thoughtfully updated, and we loved the breakfast room.

« Relaxed and comfortable stay »

We stayed there 1 night during our Route 66 trip. The room was very clean, very big and comfortable bed. Very pleasant stay. I would recommend. Complimentary breakfast was very nice (with some "strange" for us, typical American food, like breakfast biscuits with white gravy). But there was plenty food to chose from.

    « Helpful desk employees »

I would like to see that the desk employees on day shift get recognized for there excellent work they went above and beyond their job to help me and my daughter,we booked online and there was a mix up and they fixed it and made sure we left happy. We stay in your hotel every time we go to Missouri which is every year at least and we will never stay any were else now so please reward them some how.signed a very happy customer and the rooms were very clean and nice too thank you so much!!!

    « Excellent stay! »

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and it was well worth the price! Customer service was outstanding, rooms were very nice and clean and breakfast was well stocked and had a good variety. The only negative was the orange juice was watered down. That may have been due to ice in the machine but I just chose bottled water instead. We will be returning to this hotel in the future.

    4
    « Historical »

At first we were very disappointed with the musty smell in the room, but it turned out that the room we stayed in was part of the original 1930s era cottages. I imagine that the atmosphere of the room was not much different than it was 70+ years ago. Because of that, the mustiness didn't bother us as much. You must might bring some air freshener with you, just in case. There were lots of choices for breakfast, including three flavors of syrup for the waffles and six toppings for the yoghurt. They also had turkey sausage and meatless gravy to cater to vegetarians.

    « Route 66 »

If you are looking for the genuine "Route 66" experience this motel is for you. It is not modern but is comfortable and reasonably priced. The facility was built in the 1930s and has been upgraded with new plumbing and modern bathrooms. There is not a lot of room to park and the room door faces the parking lot. Also heat/AC is provided by a wall unit.

    « A gem! »

I was just driving through and saw the reviews and low price for this hotel, so I booked it and it was great! I was a little disappointed when I drove up and saw it was a motel, not a hotel, but that disappointment ended the moment I parked by the office and saw the adorable memorabilia you see in the photos - gas pumps, the old car, and the telephone booth. The room was clean and comfortable, and quiet. The management really knows how to take care of its guests. The breakfast room is also period, including the mid- century furnishings down to the Beverly Hillbilles on the TV. The food offerings were a touch of class, too - more what you'd see at an upscale hotel that a roadside motel. Not just yogurt set out, but a toppings bar alongside. Definitely worth a stop if you find yourself in Springfield.

    4
    « Great with dogs! »

Rooms modest but pet friendly. Lots of grass for dogs. I think more hotels should consider fenced runs on property- but even without here- plenty of room for dogs. Easy unloading of vehicle almost to the hotel room. Convenient.Great breakfast. Polite and courteous staff

I cannot praise the staff of this hotel enough. Every staff member I encountered were extremely pleasant and caring. They were very helpful and generous. The lobby is very clean and really awesome to look at. Some really neat decor. Great covered patio by the pool. Our room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was one of the better continental breakfasts I've ever had. Definitely suggest this hotel for a stay.

    « Nostalgia and Comfort »

This was our first trip to the area. We quickly found BW Rail Haven to be a "must stay" in Springfield. The nostalgia of Route 66 greeted us as we drove up to the old-fashioned motel - vintage cars, gas pumps, motel signs, etc. We took a short trip through history just walking around the grounds. Vintage describes the signature pieces but does not describe the room comfort. We had two rooms and each was adorned with old maps and pictures of years gone by, but both offered modern amenties and comforts we've come to expect in other "modern hotels". The rooms were very comfortable and accomodating. The breakfast selections were awesome - hot, plentiful, and abundant time to sleep in and get a yummy bite to eat. All of these features would mean nothing however without the BEST staff. Everyone was very professional, friendly, and helpful with a variety of requests - Route 66 info, family-friendly activities around town, and restaurant recommendations that were all fantastic. BW Rail Haven will be the only hotel on our list when we next visit Springfield. - highly recommend!

« Fantastic retro motel on old Rt 66 »

This is great retro motel property, felt like I was traveling back when I was a kid in the late 50's. Very comfortable and clean rooms and the property is exceptionally well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful pointing out local attractions. Will definitely plan to stay here again

« Visit an earlier time and maintain your budget »

It is a fun place to stay without straining your budget. Felt like a visit to my childhood while having the basic current amenities. The only downside is that the rooms are on the small size which was typical of the time. The front desk people where wonderful - helpful and friendly - all the staff were great. Met charming folks from Iowa and Australia. People who are following the old Route 66 stay here and the patrons are literally from everywhere. Would stay there in a heartbeat. We were told that April is a bit slower, but they are busy throughout the summer. Something to keep in mind.

Arrived after a long day in the car to be greeted by Adam who was so lovely. Full of info and good tips. Was excited about staying here as had seen that they had beds made of old cars but we were in a standard room which was comfortable. However the bed was only a basic double and our previous 3 hotels we have had beds King/queen sizes. But other than that all good

« Fantastic all the way around, even allow dogs »

We stayed here for the close proximity of the Springfield ArtFest. What a delightful surprise! The dogs were welcomed, and the room was spotlessly clean, and the exterior very well maintained. Staff super friendly. We look forward to returning!

    « Great Surprise! »

My recent stay here was fantastic. Upon arriving I noticed that the grounds were very well-kept and the lobby was tastefully decorated from the days of Route 66 travel. I loved pulling up to see the antique gas pumps and cars. The staff was American and extra-friendly. The room was very nice... Clean and comfortable. I will be back here for sure. Thank you for a nice stay Best Western!

« Arrived back home from Australia stopover »

Peg matched all the best accommodation we enjoyed in Australia, by booking us in to the Rail Haven as the spot to recover from our Brisbane - LA - Dallas Fort Worth - Springfield flight home. And this was absolutely perfect! It's quaint and well appointed and very clean throughout. The bath at midnight was hot and refreshing. The pillows just right. The bed perfectly firm and soft enough for a deep sleep. And even though the property is situated right on Glenstone Road, the building is constructed in such a way that the rigours of the busy road are not overpowering for you; as you rest, you can know that the world is going on about business without annoying you too much. A good basic breakfast was provided as complimentary and the WiFi connection was fast and free. We will definitely be making this Best Western our place of choice whenever we are in Springfield on business. Thank you

Excellent service from friendly and efficient staff. Sparkling clean room (a little on the small side, but very nice). Enjoyed the Route 66 theme, and photo opp with car out front. This was much better than some of the higher priced hotels I the area. A must if you are considering a getaway for a very good price. « Pet-Friendly & Staff Friendly, Clean »

Loved having a decent place for us & our well-behaved dogs who didn't leave any potty problems in the room- best of all, we found no traces of previous guests' pets (no odors or spots). And the price was very affordable, lower than many competitors. Also, the staff was great- very knowledgeable & efficient, and generous & friendly. Hot breakfast was nice for our early departure. Very nice experience overall.

    « A great piece of history. »

This was a third visit. The place is quiet, and well kept. Our room was clean, and everything worked. My only cons was the bed, and tight parking. The staff was helpful. We ate breakfast next door a Georges, and it was a great breakfast place.

    « Very nice! »

We were impressed! I make my husband go to historic hotels (which he often hates!) but this was adorable, clean, and comfortable. Very well taken cared for. Bathroom is small but clean and acceptable. Bed was comfy. Wifi was fast. Free breakfast was sufficient. You're signing up to stay in a historic motel on Route 66, and it will probably exceed your expectations.

« Good Motel With Scary Street Accwss »

My wife and I visited 4/26/16. John, the desk clerk, was friendly and helpful with local directions. The room was sparkling clean with a large king bed, a microwave and small fridge. The bathroom was small and pristine. Although located on a corner lot, access is only via a busy 4 lane road that makes entry and egress scary. The overall experience was very good.

    « Great place »

Very clean & spacious. Good location and excellent hot breakfast. My only complaint is the fact that the bathroom is one of those type that the tub, sink and toilet is all behind one door. There were three of us traveling together and it made it a bit inconvenient.

    « A Piece of History »

When my husband and I travel, we look for historic "mom and pop" locations to eat and to sleep. I am not sure Rail Haven qualifies as a "mom and pop" motel since it is owned by Best Western, but it is definitely a place with a history on Route 66. The first thing I noticed was how very clean and well-maintained the buildings and the grounds are. And the room was no disappointment, it was small, but very clean and very attractive with the nice amenities that are often missing in other historical motels...soft sheets, a microwave, a flat screen tv, and most importantly working Internet.

    « What a relief »

In town for a soccer tournament and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly! Nice clean rooms very close to the soccer complex off Pythian. Normally I would overlook a Motel but this place has a really neat vibe. My daughter loved the separate bedroom with bunk bed and TV. I would pick this hotel over anything else while in town for this tournament

Found hotel on third party booking sight. Was available and price was what we where looking for. Hotel was older but clean and staff was extremely helpful and nice especially the check out staff. Rooms are older but like I said clean and comfortable. The hotel is based on the 60's feel being on old route 66. 60's memorabilia around property. Morning breakfast very good not your ordinary continental breakfast. Would stay again.

The location is centrally located.

« Heaven after a long day drive »

We spent one night in Best Western Rail Heaven in Springfield onour route 66 tour. Booked just a few hours before we actually artived. Check in was easy and quick. The girl at the reception was very nice and friendly. She gave us a map of the town and a lot of info on local POIs. The hotel is a typical american motel. Long building, individual rooms with entrance to the parking lot. Parking in front of your room. Really well looked after, nice, clean. Two double beds in every room. Flat Tv, coffee/tea, fridge, microwave as well. We had a really good sleep. Breakfast is included, good selection. Hot and cold, cookies, waffle, egg, yogurt etc. Really nice. The theme is route 66 throughout. Enjoyed a lot and would definitely recommend!

    « Authentic Route 66 motel »

My wife and I stayed for the one night on our Route 66 trip. The welcome was very warm and the motel looks as you would expect a traditional US motel to look. The interior of our room was very well cared for and spotless. A nice touch was we asked if we could purchase the room entry cards as a souvenir and were told they are complimentary. Elvis apparently stayed in 1956 but the motel has certainly not dwelled in the past after he left the building! Breakfast is available for a small charge and although we couldn't stop due to our schedule there where quite a few guests enjoying the food when we checked out.

    5
    « Excellent Customer Service »

We called to get a last minute reservation and we were taken care of by Adam. He was still on Front Desk duty when we arrived. Very helpful and friendly. This is a cute, funky, place, very clean, and just what we needed while visiting family nearby. The breakfast was standard fare, except for the mini-cinnamon rolls, which were yummy. The breakfast attendant was very friendly and made sure everything was well stocked. What stood out to us was the high level of customer service from everyone we encountered. Professional, yet friendly. When checking out I noticed that the Front Desk Staff asked each person, "Was there anything we could have done to make your stay better"? Love it! Keep up the good work! We look forward to coming back!

« No better value in overnight stay in Springfield, MO... »

During our annual trips to Springfield, we always stay at the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven Motel at the intersection of S. Glenstone Avenue at St. Louis Street. Comfortable, well-appointed, recently-remodeled room for my wife and me featured comfortable Queen bed, four pillows, shower/tub combo, micro-fridge, mico-wave oven, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, cable TV, complimentary HOT breakfast (scrambled eggs, cinnamon rools, juices, coffees and teas, hot waffles, assorted cereals, fresh fruits, and more & dining tables in lobby from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 24/7 Front Desk Service, quiet rooms, new outdoor patio with indoor/outdoor giant TV screen, "Route 66 Mother Road"/Elvis decor from the motel's early days at the same location in Springfield from 1955. Entire staff...from Front Desk to Housekeeping to Maintenance...are consummate professionals. I STRONGLY recommend calling this motel DIRECTLY at their Springfield, Missouri Area Code 417 (rather than making reservations through the Best Western Toll-Free 800 telephone number). Unmatched value in overnight accommodations! 5 STARS!

« Adequate; not as great as other reviewers thought »

I was born and raised in Springfield so I'm quite familiar with this motel. I was excited when I found on TripAdvisor that they offer rooms with 1 double bed and a recliner; I have issues with my ears that are aggravated by sleeping flat on a bed. I booked one of those rooms through TripAdvisor and received a confirmation for it. When we arrived at the motel, the clerk announced that we were getting a room with 2 double beds. I said "oh no we're not, it's supposed to be 1 bed and a recliner. I've got the confirm from TripAdvisor." She said, "sorry, it didn't come through that way in the reservation and we don't have any of those rooms left." So, needless to say, whether it was TripAdvisor's fault or the motel's, I was pissed off right from the beginning. When we entered our room, the first thing I noticed was the smell--like musty laundry. After closing the door (which, since this is a motel, opens up directly to the outdoors) we noted a gap all the way around the door where air, bugs, noise, etc. could get in. The room's HVAC unit doesn't "cycle"; you either have a blower on constantly or you shut the unit off. To top it off, within 10 minutes of entering the room we discovered that our toilet had a leak which caused it to kick on and refill the tank every 10-15 minutes. The beds were so hard, it felt like lying on a marble slab. The next morning, on the way to what they called a full breakfast, we complained to the front desk about the door gap and the toilet, and they sent maintenance over to fix them at some point that day, so that's one good thing I can report. Then we got a look at that breakfast... The scrambled eggs appeared to be powdered eggs mixed with too much water. The biscuits & gravy were tolerable. The turkey sausage links looked like something my dog leaves in the backyard and my husband said they tasted questionable so we passed on those. Not a great breakfast experience. The desk clerks were very polite and helpful, almost too much so, like they were trying too hard. Bottom line, the only reason we chose this motel was because it is insanely close to my mother's house, where we were cleaning out stuff in preparation for an estate sale. I wouldn't choose to stay there for any other reason.

    « Springfield-RTE 66 Rail Haven »

WOW, this hotel was a great surprise. We needed a place to stay for the night as we continued our travels. Did no research, first place we called as we were about 2 hours outside Springfield. The hotel was amazing. Very clean, great beds and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They even have an Elvis Suite which the clerk was kind enough to show me. Elvis Presley stayed at this place back in the 50s. Very cool suite. The place has a lot of history, and icons of things from the past. Very unique hotel, and we enjoyed our brief stay here. The breakfast which is included was amazing. Tasty items both hot and cold. It was nice to get a real filling breakfast before heading back on the road. All this for a very reasonable price. They do give a AAA discount. Next time we pass through Springfield we will be staying here and will plan to take a couple days to check out all the historic sites. I recommend this hotel 100%.

    « Awesome Hotel »

I been going to Springfield Mo for 9 years for a bowling trip . I can say this was the best hotel I stayed at . Clean room , quiet , and friendly staff . Will be staying here again next year for sure . I would tell everyone else in our group they should stay here .

« If You Love America, Stay Here! »

In addition to being clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and very accommodating. If you're interested in life in these United States in the 1950's, then this Best Western is a must see and must stay. They have a mint green/mint condition 1956 Ford in front of the property. They have the gas pumps circa 1950's, an old fashioned pay phone booth with a dial telephone, and an old dial telephone in the lobby----it's almost like stepping back in time to the mid 1950's.

I have stayed her for the past 3 times I have been in town, I was so impressed with my first stay now every time I'm in Springfield MO, I only stay here. The people are friendly, the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. I would defiantly recommend this motel to any one.

Very affordable with very friendly staff. Great hot breakfast included and close to MO State Campus. We normally stay at more "expensive" hotels but this was a great option that we would do again while visiting Springfield.

« WE WILL STAY AGAIN »

Whenever we are in the Springfield area we always stay at the Rail Haven 66. We were late arriving and they called to verify we would be arriving that night. I appreciate this gesture. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. I also like that I can park in front of my room.

« Little slice of Heaven! »

This hotel is everything you could want in a home away from home. Super clean room, friendly staff, and classy furniture/atmosphere. You are sure to get a good night's sleep here without the worries you have at many other hotels. I would highly recommend!

    « Clean, Safe, Quiet »

Wow! This place is GREAT! Starting with the very helpful and cheerful desk staff. The motel is exceptionally clean. Has all that most will need: wi-fi, safe, quiet, and a very good breakfast (meat, eggs, waffles, etc) Heck, I even liked the coffee. Added bonus, if you're ?doing Route 66, it's the oldest operating Best Western on the old route. I can see why ? they're doing everything right.

« Great value, nice staff, clean room! »

Super retro room- which was also clean and in good condition. Room was comfortable. We arrived late after a long night of driving and attending a concert in the area. The night auditor was super friendly, even offered to make us breakfast earlier than usual since we had to be out early. I would definitely recommend this hotel if in the area, was also budget friendly.

« Fun trip through time »

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven. It has a nostalgic feel to it. We enjoyed our family suite with two bedrooms including a king bed and full/twin bunk beds as well as 2 TVs. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

« Clean and budget friendly »

Our room at Rail haven was super clean- bathroom was spotless. Room was basic- bed, night stands, small desk and easy chair. There was a microwave and a wine cooler (which didn't work)- we reported it to the front desk and they sent someone over within 5 minutes. When they were unable to fix it, they took our perishables and stored them in the fridge in the office. The hotel has a free breakfast- a wide spread of hot and cold items. The morning we were there they had biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs (these tasted as if they were from a dry mix) , sausage, mini cinnamon rolls, 3 kinds of cold cereal, 2 kinds of instant oatmeal, bananas, oranges, yogurt, peach fruit cups, make your own waffle station with at least 3 kinds of syrups and other toppings, coffee, a coffee machine that made one cup lattes and cappuccinos, orange and apples juice and free newspaper. Overall an ample breakfast!

All the staff was awesome. Very pleasant, friendly and helpful. They provided a map and helped with directions, as well as suggested BBQ restaurants. Easy to find, close to the places we went to. A great place to stay. Would recommend this hotel.

« The best, Best Western »

This is the kind of lodging I prefer(old style renovated) and the location for downtown Springfield is wonderful. The beds and pillows were perfect for me (fluffy yet firm enough) and an extra pillow (which I usually have to ask for). The breakfast was well above average for hotel fare. The staff were very helpful as to directions and advice.

    5
    « A step back in time! »

Whilst traveling on Route 66 I spent a night at this fabulous motel, it gives a taste of the 1950's Motels. Although it has been refurbished it's not lost its charm, the twin rooms are both clean and comfortable with the mod cons expected by modern travellers. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and I can not praise this motel highly enough and wouldn't hesitate to make a return visit next time I'm in Springfield.

« Very nice, retro motel. »

This is a quite old Best Western motel. It is also quite large so it's hard to tell just what vintage a particular room might be. My stay was for three days during the National Homeschool Basketball tournament in March. The room had two double beds, a small fridge, microwave and TV. Free wireless internet was also provided and it worked well. The room was originally one of those that had the sink installed in the bedroom portion instead of in the bathroom but it had been moved into the bathroom. I was on my own so it didn't really make any difference but if I had been traveling with my wife I much prefer all of the bathroom stuff actually in the bathroom. The retrofit meant the bathroom was pretty crowded and there was very little shelf space actually in the bathroom but there was plenty just outside the door where the sink had originally been. Everything was in tip top shape and the room was very clean. Check in was quick and efficient. The person at the desk was friendly and helpful. A free breakfast was provided each morning with sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, fruit, do it your self waffles and sweet rolls. The breakfast area was quite small and there was not a lot of seating space. It was never crowded since I'm an early riser but I suspect at times it could be overflowing. Free USA Today papers were available at breakfast. Overall quite satisfactory and excellent value.

    « Could be better »

The breakfast was great. The room was good. They just offered local channels - channel line-up guide was wrong. The bed was uncomfortable and the heater settings were hard to adjust. Seemed to always be either 'run-you-out-of-the-room' hot, or chilly. Pillows were small - and we are used to standard size pillows. Bathroom was EXTREMELY tight and uncomfortable - the bath/shower was almost touching the toilet.

« Good value nostalgic motel »

This motel appears to be in much the same state as when Route 66 was THE mother road. A great nostalgic feel. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the staff was über friendly and cheerful, and the breakfast was perfect. I especially liked the coffee machine that dispensed not only coffee, milk and cream, but also passable cappuccinos, cafe mocha, lattes, and mochaccinos. Perfect to start the day. This being March, the outdoor pool and hot tub were closed, so I can't comment on those amenities. The only complaints I can report were noisy neighbors (clarinet practice at 7 am on a Saturday morning in a motel? Way to model considerate behavior overachiever Mom!), and the bed, while not terrible, was not the most comfortable for me. My wife and son, however, had no complaints about the bed, so it's probably a personal problem. Neither of these irritations are completely within control of the motel, so overall, I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through Springfield.

    « Great Place »

Very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. I asked a lot of questions about the area and how to get places. Had a one bed room so it was just the right price. Oh, and the chair by my bed was so comfy it was like sitting in my recliner at home. I was falling asleep in it before I went to bed. I would def. stay there again.

    « Great stay! »

My husband and I stayed here with our 4 year old son. The front desk staff was very friendly and helped us check in quickly. Our room was comfortable and very clean. This place has some nice charming 50's style features including neon lighting out front. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely stay again!

    5
    « Excellent accommodations! »

We couldn't have been happier with our stay. The young lady that checked us in was very sweet and helpful. Nice clean room. They having smoking rooms which are almost unheard of these days! I would highly recommend this Best Western if your staying in the Springfield area.

Very clean rooms with comfortable beds that are not too soft or too firm. However, double has full size beds rather than queen. Nice quiet stay. We stay here every time we visit Springfield. Special rate for college parents.

Nice place, very clean, would stay here again. Parking outside our door. Very quiet. Receptionists were nice and knowledgeable. Microwave and mini fridge in room. Spare blanket could've been a little fresher, it was musty.

    « Clean and cozy! »

We stayed here because it was convenient to where we were going, plus I liked the idea of nostalgia. Front desk staff were very friendly. Room was clean and we liked being able to park at our door. We didn't have the breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Exceptional Staff »

Husband and I had a recent stay at this fun Best Western. Upon arrival the two female staff members at the front desk set the tone. Greeting us with a warm smile and sharing the history of this lodging establishment located on old Route 66. Once we were in our room the phone rang and the staff wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. (First time that's ever happened and we travel quite a bit.). Woke up the next morning only to realize we had slept 9 hours, which we never do. Bed was super comfy and never heard the other 5 cars in front of our room that had arrived after we were in for the night. When we arrived in the lobby for breakfast the next morning we were again greeted by another delightful staff member. Would definitely recommend a delightful stay at this lodging.

    5
« Very charming and easy to get to »

This is a wonderful hotel for the money. There is a covered pavilion which is very helpful for large groups trying to get together or a late night of watching the cars go by. The hotel is older and geared for the 50-60's car hop/elvis lover. They've tried to keep the rooms true to the era with a few updates, but it is very charming. The beds are very good and the hotel staff is some of the most helpful I've encountered at any hotel chain. I stay here regularly and my positive experience is always repeated.

    4
    « Quaint and comfortable »

The nostalgic atmosphere and the throw back decorations are pretty cool. The hotel room was clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Only issue with the room itself was the inconsistency with the hot water. It was either extremely hot or freezing cold. Hard to maintain a constant temperature while taking a shower. mattress was a little soft for my liking, but not terrible.

    5
    « Best stay »

We stayed in a jacuzzi room, it was very clean and really nice. The staff and breakfast were awesome additions to make it a great stay. Anything we needed, they immediately took care of for us. The atmosphere was great and the Elvis memorabilia was fantastic. The old time Route 66 items were fun to look at. Very quiet also.

    « Classic Route 66 »

We enjoyed one night at this hotel. Check-in staff were over-the-top friendly. The room was adequate, though a bit chilly upon check-in. Heater was noisy. Room was clean and well-supplied. Breakfast was terrific. Breakfast room was fabulous! Lots of memorabilia. Loved the old gasoline pumps out front!

« Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven »

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past few years, and we will be staying there again in the future. The location of the property is very close to the places, that we like to go to. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, and the staff is very helpful. The price for the rooms are less compared to the other hotels on St Louis street. We always ear breakfast there, and they have a good selection of quick foods.

    « Late night move! »

I was trying find some where to stay . I called several different places and the person working seemed to not care if I stayed with them. I called Rail Haven Best Western and the phone was answered on first ring. The clerk working was great and said they had parking for my pickup and trailer. The property and room was great. Everything was clean and in order and everything in the room looked new. Was one of the first places I've stayed at in a while that everything in the room worked from the remote to the hairdryer. The price was great and I will stay there again for sure if I'm ever in the area. Thank you! Best Western Rail Haven.

    5
    « Cozy »

Quaint motet with nostalgic feel. Rooms are updated with new carpet and paint. Staff is friendly and open to taking care of any of you needs. Park right at your room door makes loading and unloading easy. Nice pavilion to sit outside with a group of friends. Breakfast area could be larger but I hear they are in the process of renovating that area.

    « A nice hotel! Awesome pool! »

A nice hotel. Staff is very helpful. The pool was very clean and refreshing. We loved it and had so much fun. Breakfast is modest. Rooms are clean but a feel of outdated bed covers and some of the furniture. Location is pretty good. Kind of in the middle of everything. We came to see our daughter playing lead role in Tent Theater Production. The value is decent overall.

    5
« Clean, friendly, and fun. »

The room was clean and comfortable, with a fridge and microwave. It's typical 1950's style but updated. The bathroom was a bit small but to be expected for that era. The nostalgic theme is fun. All of the staff were very friendly. Very reasonably priced and conveniently located. I would highly recommend them.

« Rail Haven Best Western Springfield, MO »

Our room was smoking for my husband. It had a very small restroom but really cute and clean. It is historic or nostalgic and that is why I'm sure. Staff was great and very cute office and good food for breakfast. We would go back and get non-smoking room.

« Decent Motel on Old Route 66 »

This motel has several banks of rooms. Ours was in a set of rooms at the back of the property where it was quiet. Had a comfortable double bed. There are pictures showing the history of the motel dating back to the 30's. We were told there are three rooms set up in the '50s era but we were in any of them. Our room had a microwave and a wine cooler. The continental breakfast was served in the building where the office is. It is styled in the '50s. Hot and cold items were offered. My husband said the scrambled eggs were good.

    4
« Convenient, Quaint and Friendly »

I stay at this hotel frequently. I love the decorations, all of which harken to the hotel's history, old cars and the mystique of Route 66. The rooms are small, but more than adequate for sleeping. I stay there on business trips, so I don't spend a lot of time in my room during the day. The restaurant is very small, but more than sufficient for a quick breakfast. The people who stay at this hotel are usually friendly. So, I've often had conversations with the other patrons in the breakfast area. There is a patio in front of the hotel, by the pool. I have sat outside on summer nights and enjoyed time with friends there. The staff at the hotel have always been cheerful and helpful. The price, convenience and staff are the reasons I return.

    « Charming Motor Inn »

I loved my stay at Rail Haven. I enjoyed the retro feel of the place. The rooms were clean. The staff was amazing! They were all very helpful and polite. They were able suggest places to go for food and entertainment and even printed me out directions.

« Blast from your past »

Stayed here twice, will stay here again. Try to get the rooms with the tail fin beds. Dog friendly. Excellent breakfast for the value. Free newspaper. The staff takes great pride in the cleanliness and presentation of the facility. Staff gives good advice where to go or order in for dinner.

« Lots of good and some bad, but lots of nostalgia »

There was a lot to like at the Route 66 Rail Haven--and a few things I would have left in the past. You do feel immersed in the nostalgic "Mother Road" feel of the past. Gas pump and 1950s Chevy parked out front. Heavy plate glass art deco door as you walk into the lobby reminded me of my youth. The convenience of backing you car right up to your front door! The Rail Haven is a gem from the past and you can see that the owners have kept things painted, upgraded with wifi, coffee makers, nice breakfast in the lobby. But my yen for nostalgia ends at the bathroom door. At first I thought the lilac bathroom was charming, but after trying to sit on the wobbling commode that was so low I thought I was going to sit on the floor, I was ready for 2015 plumbing. If you're under 55 you might not mind it. Charming otherwise.

    5
    « Driving Through »

Wow, pleasantly surprised. The people who work here really like their jobs, very friendly upon check in and again at breakfast. The room was very nice. Newer furnishings and carpet. Very clean. Breakfast was great. Hot breakfast or cold, plenty to choose from. For the price this place was a deal. There is a closer Best Western to I-44, this one is a mile or 2 off the highway. I'd rather not be in hotel row and this one was much quieter as well not being near the highway. Closer to several local restaurants as well. Found a great place to eat about 3 miles away, got great directions too. If you like Cajun, try the Big Easy Grill.

    5
« Great Experience on Old Route 66 »

If you enjoy history you will enjoy staying at the Rail Haven. They even have a phone booth in the lobby. The food is great, the staff is friendly and the rooms are comfortable. We come here often and in the summer it is fun to be by the pool and visit with other guests. Everyone is so nice and we relaxed. We have been coming here for over 40 years and love the memories we have from our stay.

« Modern update of traditional motel »

The room is an updated version of the original "Route 66" landmark motel. It was very comfortable and pleasant. All rooms are on the ground level. The office is open 24 hours a day and serves a great breakfast (not just rolls). I would have given it a 5 rating but the bathroom floor molding was not properly installed. Even so, the rooms are VERY clean. There is a group picnic area that would be a great place to relax except in the winter.

    5
    « What a treat! »

We chose this hotel because we prefer Best Western on road trips, and this one was just adorable. There are gas pumps and an antique car from the 1940s in front of the main office, the registration desk looks like a chrome-plated diner, and that decor extends to the breakfast area. The rooms are completely modern, however, with flatscreen TV, working (free) Wifi, fridge and microwave, and all the amenities you expect from Best Western. Not to mention the southern hospitality you hope to find in Missouri. Highly recommend!

    5
« Best Western Is My Favorite On-the-Road Hotel Chain »

As is always the case with Best Western, the desk staff was pleasant and competent. But I think they were especially nice at this Best Western. The room was clean. There was green space for my dog. (All or most of the Best Westerns are dog-friendly.) There was enough coffee packets to make several cups in the room coffee maker. Breakfast was great. The real scrambled eggs which were actually good. The biscuits were delicious, hot and fluffy. The hotel wasn't hard to find and is close to a lot of shopping and restaurants. I've found that Best Western is a cut above other reasonably-priced hotel chains and Route 66 Rail Haven didn't disappoint.

    4
    « Nice place. You'll like it. »

First Best Western on Route 66. Located in a nice area of city several miles from Interstate, so no highway noise. All rooms are ground floor, and you can park right in front of the door. The room was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. The television was good and had the channels I wanted. The staff was friendly and helpful. The included full, hot breakfast was excellent. What more could you want? Overall very pleased.

    « 1950s with a touch of Modern »

I loved this place. My wife and I loved the décor and ambience the hotel put forth. The beds left a little to be desired but I don't know anyone who is ever comfortable in a hotel bed. This facility topped off a great business trip and we look forward to staying again this summer on vacation.

« Best Western Is the Greatest »

My stay at the Best Western in Springfield, MO was great. The employees at the desk were friendly and competent. The room was pleasant and clean. This hotel is dog-friendly. Most (or all) of the Best Westerns are. The best thing is the free breakfast. It's real food, not just cereal, bagels and cream cheese. There were really good scrambled eggs and delicious biscuits. I'll probably stay at this same hotel on my way back through Missouri next month.

    « old time motel »

This place is called route 66 for a reason. It looks like it was built back in the 50's. The bed slept good and it was a clean room. I do not know what kind of furnace was in this room, but it took a long time to heat the room up. The vanity is in the room next to the bathroom and it does not have a sink with it so you are going back and forth trying to get ready. the shower must have been a after thought because it had 2 separate controls and the shower was hard to adjust. I would recommend that you drive about a mile further north and stay at the other best western. have My wife has stayed there and said it was a lot nicer motel.

If you are a gear head or just looking for a great clean hotel with an awesome staff this is the hotel for you! I have stayed here twice and come to Springfield often for car shows and I will not stay anywhere else but here! Their prices are so good they beat another hotel by $60! Don't waste your money at the others come here!

    « Nice and Clean-Nostalgic »

Enjoyed the stay and staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the Route 66 50's theme and decor. My teenage son was surprised to see a window in the bathroom and explained that back in the 50's they did not have AC in motels so had to open windows and use fans in the summer.

    5
« Step back in time »

Love this little motel-much like I remember from my childhood except much better. Cute retro update-room was very clean and the bed was the best-as are most Best Westerns. Breakfast was very good with many hot items. The room and bath are not huge as it is I am sure the same footprint from the original 1936 motel but it just adds to the charm and experience especially for the price. Would not hesitate to go back next time we are in Springfield!!

    « Great Value »

This hotel is always clean and comfortable. The rooms are on the small side as are the bathrooms, but the staff is very accommodating and the price is excellent! Breakfast is better than most. The location is not near many things, but it is on a main road that lets you get anywhere in Springfield or on to 65 or I-44 in minutes.

    5
« Best value and clean »

I have stayed at this hotel three times over the last three months and it has been consistent in quality of each room. It has been clean, comfortable and the staff is professional and friendly. I would recommend this property.

« We loved the vintage feel! »

We loved the vintage feel this motel had. Our room was very clean, roomy enough and bed was comfortable. The free breakfast, the next morning, was delish. Next time we drive through this area, we will sure to stay here. Thank you for your kind service.

« Charming stay, friendly staff, great value »

We needed to find a one-night stay in Springfield at the last minute, and the online reviews drew me in. We were not disappointed -- it's a charming place, an updated old-school motor court. Spotless, safe, and the lobby couldn't be more cheerful. When we checked in, I asked the young man on the front desk for a local restaurant recommendation, and he gave us the name of a great Italian place (Rocco's), printed a map, and made sure we knew how to get there. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

« Greyt Place From Apollo The Greyhound »

If you're looking for the nostalgia of the roadside motels you stayed at when you were traveling with your folks back in the 60s, along with the modern conveniences such as large flat screen TVs, clean spacious rooms, plenty of parking, and a convenient place for me (as the dog) to do my business, this the place for you! At least that's what my human Mom tells me. Further in the survey it asks about romantic and other things--sometimes we aren't looking for that, but just a comfortable and safe place to stay. Mom & Dad says we are definitely coming back to the Rail Haven!

« I Do Not Recommend Staying Here »

First room had dirty carpets and an overpowering air freshener smell. Second room had even dirtier carpet, but smell not quite as overpowering (although I still got a migraine due to odor). No mini refrigerator, just a faulty "wine cooler" which did not keep milk cold enough to drink. I have stayed at this hotel three or four times in the past and was always pleased with the rooms. I will be finding other accommodations for lodging in Springfield in the future.

    5
    « My stay »

I needed a place to stay while some work was being done on my home. Rail Haven was the right price & perfect location. I had noticed over the years that this location always looked busy and if there was a big function in town they were always full. The staff was friendly and always smiling. No wonder they are always busy. I would stay here again and would recommend to others.

    4
« Great place to stay »

We were in a serious auto accident and were taken to a Holiday Inn that was way over priced. As an employee of Best Western I moved over to this hotel and got a great rate. The room was clean. The breakfast was great. The breakfast area was a little small so there seemed to be a fight over getting a table. I was here for five days and they were all excellent. The only thing I didn't like was that there was no laundry facility on site. My car was demolished so we had to walk about a mile to the laundry facility.

    5
    « MEMORIES »

This motel is really one of a kind. It brings back memories of my high school years in the 50's It has the old soda fountain effect of that era and the little cottages are unique. It was a blast from the past.

« Future to the past... »

Clean--most important. Friendly and courteous staff. Very funky and retro, but great wifi and tv. Accessible location, close to RT 66---near road, but well insulated to minimize road noise--and we were in the front corner unit closest to the road. Good breakfast as well as coffee to make in the room. Great value, would return and would recommend.

« Ideal for night stop on Route 66 »

Nice place to stop overnight, clean with comfortable bed, friendly pleasant staff who told us of a nice family restaurant in town to eat which was good, as we could only see 'burger places' around. Breakfast was good.

« Well Preserved Rt. 66 Style Motor Hotel »

Loved the Sea Foam Green vintage cars out front, glass block in the lobby and the great historic photos of the place on the lobby walls. Whole place has a neat appearance but at the same time less sterile than modern chain hotels. My room had a homey shrub outside the door instead of industrial strength gravel.

    5
« Great Location and Great Value »

The staff was very friendly, the beds were super comfortable and the room was very clean! We were really impressed with the quality of the room for the amount that we paid. Our only complaint is that there is a little road noise at night, depending on the room you are in. I'm sure you can request one away from the road. This will be our go-to place when in Springfield.

    5
    « Pleasant Stay »

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The motel was also good value. A most pleasant and restful stay. I would certainly recommend this motel to anyone driving Route 66.

The room was clean. No frills, but nice basic amenities. Microwave and refrigerator in room were nice. The bed was very comfortable. Décor was unique and played to the Route 66 theme. I would recommend if you are not looking for anything fancy

This hotel takes you back in time and very nicely remodeled. You can tell that the hotel was built a long time ago with a new touch. The hotel advertises as being pet friendly and it is. Located in a part of town where you have access to pretty much any thing you need or are looking for. I would highly recommend this hotel for a great weekend visit. Thank you!

What a cute motel. Took me back to my childhood memories decorated with 60's memorabilia. Clean rooms. Great free breakfast, eggs sausage, biscuits and gravy. Close to Mo State University, 1 mile away. Will difinately stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here but unfortunately not much going on in springfield, Fast food galore near the hotel. The desk colleagues were super friendly, and the rooms were great. Nice and clean. Free breakfast which was a choice of hot and cold. Free wifi. with an outdoor pool.

« Motor Court with history »

I was riding parts of the mother road ( Rt.66 ) when I found this piece of history. It dates back more than 60 years. The property has been updated several times but maintains the style and charm of motor courts. My room was clean and everything worked as it should. there was a nice covered porch. They also had a covered pavilion with a big screen TV, plenty of tables and chairs. A nice place to meet your fellow travelers. George's diner, almost next door, was a great place for dinner. Their breakfast was very good. It had something for everyone. The staff kept it well stocked and clean. The area was a little tight, but you could sit in one of the covered spaces. For all the Elvis fans, he stayed here in 1956 while in town for a couple of performances. the room has been decorated as a tribute to him.

« Great Place to Stay in Springfield, MO »

This is a wonderful place to stay while in Springfield. The ambiance of the place was outstanding and the price can't be beat. We did find the bathroom a bit small but very, very clean. The continental breakfast was of the quality one would expect at much larger chain motels, although the available seating was limited. Highly recommend staying here.

    « Very cute »

This place brought back memories of my childhood when we traveled as family. It was very clean. The bed was comfortable n pillows were great. I liked the reclining chair also. Only comment is its very small n cramped. But then that's to be expected because of time period it was built. If you like nostalgia, then I recommend staying here!

    « Great service »

We visited this motel on our Route 66 trip. We were very pleased with the accommodation and the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The price was very competitive. I would recommend this as a good place to stay in Springfield if you are happy to drive or get a cab to Downtown.

    « Route 66 classic »

A modernised motel, it has very clean rooms and comfy beds but retains the original feel of the old motel. The shower worked perfectly. Front reception staff very friendly and hot or cold breakfast is included in the price. There is an outside pool. Situated on route 66 in the city, it is an ideal stop if you are driving the mother road. Don't miss it and check out the old Best Western sign standing by the car park.

Stayed here for the second time, it just gets better, Elvis stayed here and the classic cars and vintage pumps make it a must stay for Route 66 enthusiasts. Rooms are spotless and the best I've stayed in for a motel.

    « Ideal stop on Rte 66 »

This historic motel is situated right on Rte 66 in Springfield MO. The room was comfortable although there was a slight musty smell when we went in. Situated on a main road but traffic noise wasn't a problem. Breakfast was adequate without being outstanding but was included in the price so can't complain. Staff were friendly and efficient. Restaurants within walking distance.

Room great, facilities great, easy to find from interstate. Restaurants nearby. We only stayed one night as that was all our schedule would allow but would have no hesitation in staying longer. Would definitely stay here again.

« Just like being in the Cars movie! »

I stayed here with my grandchildren when we were in Springfield for the funeral of a family member. They loved the old cars and other historic items, and especially the fact that Elvis slept in this hotel. They wanted to know more about Route 66 and Elvis, so we had an opportunity to reminisce and also to learn more about American history.
