Best Western Beachside Inn

Booked this hotel as I was a little put off the inclusive resorts at the southern end of SPI. The hotel has a basic hot breakfast included consisting of egg, meat, and waffles. Breakfast was fine but the breakfast area was a bit small which became problematic when the hotel was busy over the weekend. The room was excellent and had an in room safe which was a great bonus. Beds were very comfortable and the room was spotless. Over the four nights we had housekeeping done once, fine, but our room being at the end of the hallway wasn't done until after 1700 hrs. In terms of location, the beach is a short 10 minute walk away despite being advertised as a “beachfront” hotel. No issue in my eyes but it's a good to know. Hotel has a pool and fitness centre on site. Staff were polite and did their jobs. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance; but most are within a short drive. A good stay and I had no problems.

Very comfortable beds and all of the amenities that you would expect from a hotel. Great location on the beach, as it is right next to a Dollar General so you can get any items that you forgot to bring with you. It is close to the middle so you can enjoy the events on the north and south sides of the islands. However, the name is deceiving! It is not beach side, so if you expect to hear or see the ocean waves from your room you won't. The beach is only a block away but it's not beach side.

We visited South Padre Island for the first time and stayed at the Best Western. This is an OK location it is located in the middle of the block from the beach side but you have to walk a good distance to the beach, but you are very close to the main road and restaurants and shops are within walking distance.. The view on your room is not that great. There are old rundown apartment buildings across the street and a vacant lot in the back of the hotel. Our room was right above the dining area, so it was difficult to sleep in in the morning because we could hear the chairs moving and people talking, and it was right by the elevator and near the Laundry area. As for the room itself, it was OK. The bathroom was a nice size, but there were Signs of wear and tear, which is the wallpaper coming off in the mirror in the bathroom, and there is a pad by the window that rested on the air-conditioning it was very worn. We were in a king room. It was on small. Housekeeping is offered every other day, so we asked for clean towels, and they brought them up to us They did offer a lot channels on the TV which was nice, Especially since it rained two days while we were there, it rained really hard all day! The breakfast food was average they had the typical cold food items, cereal and yogurt. The hot items were bacon or sausage one or the other. You can make your own waffles also they had mini egg and cheese omelettes. They also had toast, bagels and fruit. It was nice to have The breakfast option, if you did not want to go out to eat at a restaurant. There was on site parking it was strictly enforced, That seem to be the case everywhere on the island. You definitely have to have a parking pass Especially in the hotel parking lots. I feel that there may be an issue on the island with people parking Anywhere so parking is strictly enforced. Next time I visit the island, I probably will stay somewhere else check out some other lodging locations on the island.

I am sad to say that my stay at Best Western Beach Side Inn was very disappointing. I was there for two weeks with my husband and after one night I wanted to switch hotels. Everyone is doing their job to the best of their ability but the hotel is just so old and dingy. The exterior of the hotel is very nice and the lobby is fine but the rooms are awful. I loved the location of the place so that helped. The hot tub broke down halfway through our trip and they didn't have waffles in the breakfast for quite a few days which was the only thing I really enjoyed. It was just not at all what I was expecting as the reviews were very good that I had read before booking. Two weeks was a long time to spend in a place that I wasn't happy with at all.

We visited for 4 days in mid December which is certainly the slow season for the area. Obviously housekeeping was off during out stay as I saw the same white lint on the hallway carpeting from the time of our arrival until we checked out. This probably speaks to the cleanliness of the rooms. Breakfast was meager, think sliced white bread as the bread option along with chocolate muffins. We drove over to Port Isabel for breakfast after the first morning.

This hotel is a great value. Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice selection of breakfast items, internet, pool and fitness center. Nice and affordable option if you want to be near the beach and doing business in the Brownsville area.

Located next to a Dollar General, near the beach and you can see the Bay in the distance. The hotel is clean and kept clean by a professional staff and management team. Breakfast was super with Texas shaped waffles.

Stayed here for a meeting on the island. Had a nice room that was only one block walk from the Gulf. Wife and I had a good night's rest along with a wonderful breakfast bar. Looking forward to staying here next year.

Staff was so welcoming and was quick to get us checked in. Our room was extremely clean and up to our standards. Our room had a reding nook by the window which was perfect to finish my book! Breakfast was delicious and I can't get over the coffee flavor. Can't recommend it enough!

It was soo cool and nice and peacful i would stay again on that hotel it clean good breakfast the swiming opool everything was cool plus they gave me a couplw of water for being memeber of best western!

My family is still trying to give this hotel chain a chance but this one was not it. Arrived late and was given a room that smelled and had no towels. Changed to another room, flipped back the sheets to find someone's hair all over. Went back down to notify the desk employee and ask for case towels. The employee said the WHOLE hotel had a shortage of towels. But did give us a clean sheet to place over the one with hair. This is an old hotel and you can tell. One night here and we are switching to the Marriott.

We had a great stay this week at the Beachside Inn in South Padre. I cannot say enough about it. The service was great. The food was perfect. The pool was clear and warm. The spa was hot and relaxing.

Privacy was violated by not having window curtains over the windows, where anyone walking by can see you and everything you have in your room. The rooms should have everything that is stated they supply for you during your check in and visit. There should be exact number of towels stated for your visit so a customer will not be charged for the mistake of a maid that either don't care or don't know what they are doing.

They let the tow trucks come on the property when you sleep and let them take your vehicle if you forget to put the tag on your dash. Watch out for your customers better than this. Ask for the plates at check in and have the tow trucks ask for permission to take it.

everything about this place is a no-go.. THIS WAS A VERY DIRTY ROOM.. SMELLY. & to find what looked like a popped "balloon" on the side of the room....beyond SCARY! this is not a best western it is a worst western..

For the first and second night, I believe, we had noisy people above us. We were there for a total of seven nights and two additional parties checked in above us while we were there. We never really heard anything from those two parties. The first party was inconsiderate! You learn to except these things at hotels

Wife and I stayed for two nights in July. Very comfortable room with a good breakfast each morning (huge waffles)! Hotel is about a five-minute walk to the beach, and there's a pool with showers on the side of the hotel too. Wonderful staff and we will return!

Towed my car out of their lot when I did not display my pass one day of a week's stay there. Couldn't stir themselves to check their guests' license plates. Jokers. Avoid this place. Otherwise it's ok fine whatever nothing to stand out. Good luck friends.

The BW Beachside Inn has modern-looking rooms and looked clean. However, my room and the entire hotel smelled musty and mildewy- like the whole place had been under water. There was a lot of rust in the bathroom, as well as a cockroach. The breakfast was standard for a Best Western but the dining area is very cramped. Guests were smoking by the pool despite signs prohibiting it. The pool area is small. Note that the hotel is a long block and a half away from the beach.

This hotel is wonderful! It is in a great location on SPI near Blackbeard's restaurant walking distance to the gulf beach. It has updated rooms, good breakfasts and comfy beds. We walked a mile in each direction to see most of the island which was great. The SPI free shuttle bus is unreliable so we were glad to stay in a central location this time on the island.

We were just there for one night as we had a funeral to attend. We were very pleased with the price, the cleanliness of the room. The room and bathroom was a little smaller than other Best Western's I've been in, and compared to other hotels, but it was still perfect for us. The decor and fixtures in the bedroom and bathroom were new, which was great. It was a nice hotel and we will definitely stay there again should the need arise.

The location is fine and great that you get free parking. Sadly for us this was the only positive. The room was on the small side for a family. The carpet of the room was damp to walk on and there was a musty smell. You could tell there was an ongoing damp problem as the reading lights bendy metal areas were rusting. Towels didn't dry therefor and neither did wet t-shirts from the beach. The shampoos and conditioners were comedy size and certainly didn't stretch to a family of four! So we just used the bar of soap between us. Breakfast was basic and quite beige… not many healthy options available. We had just come from another Best West hotel and we really noticed the difference in quality and options available. What was really bad though was that there was probably only enough seating for 30 people… for a hotel with 63 rooms which at any one point could have 120 guests or more, this is a real problem. We witnessed people queuing for a place to sit down… some even had to eat in the reception lobby area, I even encouraged my family to hurry up and eat so others could sit down after us. Really wanted to find more positives to write but couldn't… sorry!

Super pleasant desk staff! They greeted you and provided helpful recommendations when asked. Breakfast was the best we have had…crispy bacon, sausage, cheese omelettes, scrambled eggs, waffles, cereal, oatmeal bar. Breakfast server greeted everyone with a smile and good morning! Very clean hotel

We stayed for 2 nights. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel and room were clean. The hotel appears to have been remodeled. It was very busy but was quiet for a good night's sleep. The room (2 queen) was well-appointed. The beds were comfortable, with nice linens and several pillows to choose from. Our only complaint with the room was that while we appreciate an exhaust fan in the bathroom, it was incredibly loud. Breakfast was very good with good choices. The breakfast attendant was pleasant and kept food stocked and the area clean. The breakfast area and eating area were a little small for the number of guests. Husband looked at the pool and was impressed by how clean it was.

Stayed one night in January. Hotel was easy to find and is just a block from the beach. Room was very clean. WiFi was solid! Bed was very comfortable. Nice selection of hot and cold items for breakfast. Friendly staff. Would definitely choose this hotel again.

A solid option if you don`t mind not being right on the beach, which is a short walk down a peaceful residential street. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable, efficient check-in, generous self-service breakfast, although they were out of a lot of things later in the morning. Pleasant staff. Easy parking. Didn`t use the pool or hot tub.

We stayed four nights in early January 2023. The hotel was only about 1/2 full. All of the employees were courteous and helpful. From the front desk people to the cleaning staff to the breakfest staff. The breakfest had plenty of food and it was always fresh and tasty. We will definitely come back.

The carpet smelled like urine, the shower water was Luke warm and the pressure weak. Only good part about breakfast was the waffles, can't mess up waffles. The sausage links and cheese omelets were nasty.

The room hade a wet smell and was told to use a spray to mask the smell , then blames it on house cleaning for not leaving ac on .I ran the ac the intire time I was there and no difference in smell .then the pool water got my son sick and I hade to leave early so I told the front desk they hade no care at all .

Hotel is comfortable for the price Breakfast not great but will fill you up wish they had danishes and donuts Take your own blow dryer theirs is a very small travel hair dryer. Disappointed they did not have Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash dispensers filled.

I had such a great trip here! My wife and I got married at the beach and we used this hotel for our wedding block. The staff was nice and helpful, rooms were exceptionally clean, and the breakfast was on point. It's such a close walk to the beach, shops and food!

Room was comfy.only complaint the fridge wasnt cold..and since we on the first floor People.on second floor were loud.and were walking and stumping. Hard to sleep.the breakfast was ok not the best..eggs were cold. Sausage and bacon .was greasy.

The hotel location is convenient. Restaurants, stores and gift shops are close by. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. The beach entrance is approximately one block from the hotel. The breakfast items are limited but will hold you until lunch.

I had intended on making a girls trip this summer. When asking friends and family where to stay, I was actually told where not to stay. Based on what I know, this management and staff has a lot more hospitality to learn. The staff speaks to customers and guests poorly and management backs them up as if it is okay. Although this property seems to be the most affordable, I'll gladly spend $100 more to stay at a business that values customer service and courtesy.

I actually reserved this room way in advance but things happened and I had to cancel. Not long after reserving I called the hotel to have them prepay my card (cause at that time we were going, yunno). When cancelling I made sure to ask for the refund since I cancelled 4 days prior to set arrival date. A gentleman who did not seem confident told me had released charges. I called a few days later just to confirm and spoke with a woman (I don't believe either of them ever mentioned their names) , claiming to be a manager/supervisor, who was less than friendly. I told her I would call back. Then I spoke to, I believe, the same gentleman this evening. First saying he couldn't even find my reservation. Ending it with hanging up on me. Customer service is not a priority obviously at this establishment. I would never consider staying here nor would I ever suggest anyone else.

Over hotel was great. Front desk lady was incapable of smiling/appearing friendly. Policy of cleaning room every other day was not communicated. Pool was small but cold but hot tub was hot (even though it needs to be re-plastered.

Seemed that all the hotels on South Padre were a bit expensive during Spring Break, but I picked this one because of its high reviews - and it lived up to them. Nice pool, nice room, nice basic breakfast

We stayed here on a Sunday, just before the huge influx of kids on Spring Break. There were already a few. Before spring break Best Western prices are awesome. Everything was great. No pets are allowed, but our service dog wasn't a problem.

The property was very nice, updated, clean and close to the beach. The young lady last night and this morning clearly hated her job and had zero hospitality experience. We had a few questions and disrupted whatever she was doing on her phone. Would have given the property a 5 but she needs to find a new job!

Staff wasn't friendly. Either they have attitudes or they're overworked, I don't know. Breakfast consisted of coffee and packaged muffins. Breakfast is served starting at 7:00 am and this was around 8:00 am. All four days! Paid for four nights and got turndown service once. Just not how Best Western is anywhere else.

The lady did not like me from minute 1. I had asked for a downstairs room when I made my reservation. When I arrived for my 4 night stay the parking lot was nearly empty. She said the 1st floor was full she put me on the 2nd floor next to the elevator. No room service after the 1st night. By the afternoon I called the lobby she said the check in didnt tell you rooms cleaned after 2nd night. I said NO.

Beds very comfortable, room clean Breakfast was same 6 days in a row, sausage & scrambled eggs; packaged muffins, etc. You couldn't turn bathroom light switch on without fan motor blasting noise. It was deafening and annoying!! Entrance tile floor was extremely and dangerously slippery!

The room was very modern. The window seat was a plus. The bathroom was bigger than most hotel bathrooms with a walk-in shower. The breakfast was a typical Best Western breakfast. We walked a lot and felt very safe. The beach was about a five minute walk from the hotel. The beach is down the street from the hotel, and then turn right on Gulf Blvd. There is a free public beach access is Venice Circle. There are about 15 places to park. Actually there are several beach accesses on Gulf Blvd, but Venice Circle is the nearest. We drove to the beach when we took our beach chairs, beach umbrellas, etc. The beach was beautiful and had nice clear water! We didn't have problem finding a place to park at this time of the year. If it is crowded, you can drive north of town and there are several beach accesses there, too. There are lots of stores and restaurants nearby. We found Wanna Wanna on Gulf Blvd. It located on the beach and you can order food and/or drinks. Before you sit down, go to the bar and order, and then sit down. There are no waitresses. I ordered a pina colada and it was very good! They have bands there on Friday and Saturday nights. We enjoyed our hotel and would recommend it!

Hotel was clean and new! Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly! I didn't have any issues with the staying and definitely will return again! The value was worth the money that you will pay for!

For a two star hotel/motel it is what I expected. Of course I knew that it would not be like any Marriot as that is not what I'm paying for however breakfast is below average and the staff are not very friendly. The breakfast comes entirely from a package but I do understand you get what you pay for. The staff seem very unhappy to be at work and unwilling to communicate with guests. The hotel is in a great location in terms of accessing restaurants, shops, and beaches by foot. Overall it was clean but there seemed to be a sewer issue in our room because every time we used the water, a horrible smell came from the sink. If I were to come again I would stay here simply because I'm a rewards member with Best Western and because the location is convenient.

Stayed here for a few days and the staff here are the rudest. The front desk staff did not want to be bothered when we checked in. The lady at the breakfast area is the one who really brought the unfriendliness to a whole new level. During the days we were there, she never smiled, did not even say hello or good morning when we said good morning to her, had her eyes glued to her cellphone, literally sighed when we tried to get her to scoop up some food into our foam box. This is the first time and last time I will ever stay at this hotel.

Upon arrival staff was attentive and very friendly. Trip advisor had two rooms available but when I booked the room I was told that there was only one room available. I had to wait 4 1/2 hours before I could check in. When I got to the room it was clean,cool and nice. Staff was very knowledgeable about the activities that were going on. If they didn't know they researched it for you and gave you the information. The hotel was nice and in walking distance from the beach. Breakfast was a grab-n-go meal. Parking was okay. The pool and jacuzzi is located outdoors with two showers in front of the gate. Checking out was a breeze. I had the option of sending all information to my email along with receipts. Looking forward to going back.

The hotel was clean, guests hanging out by the pool nice. We were there a few days so guests rotated but the conversations just switched to new people. Room was clean, location convenient. Ice machine broke down, that happens occasionally, and there was a store across the road plus small freezer in the top of the room refrigerator. Restaurants not walking distance but fairly close by.

This motel was very clean and newer with nice furnishings. Elevator was broken Located in a neighborhood. Not on the beach! No balconies. Breakfast was minimal. Small pool. Moderate priced. Stay here!

First the location, which might be important for most people traveling with kids or to party. The hotel is perfectly located at a walking distance from a beach access (10min walk with a child) and some restaurants, ice-cream and a Strip mini-market (for drink refill :P) so no need to take your car all the time. Second the place looks really clean, well maintained, the rooms are up-to-date, feels like everything was recently renovated, we enjoyed the matress for restfull nights, our room was a large king and we appreciated the small sink/countertop to prepare some picnic, room was very large with a small table which was great to take our breakfast especially with Covid restrictions... worth the few extra bucks if you are traveling as couple or couple with a child. The amenities are fair, but the pool/whirlpool are very small considering the size of the hotel and the number of rooms, compare to other Best Western hotels, I would say it it probably half the size of normal pool so once you get two groups inside, it is full. The breakfast was complicated by COVID restriction which is understandable (safety first), but could have been better organized, we staid in some other best western location during COVID and they offered individual corn-flakes, individual butter/jam/cream-cheese with somebody (wearing glove/mask) giving you some bread/baggle and let you use the toaster. Here only scramble eggs and bagged muffins/cereal bars which after 4 nights can be bit boring experience... between us the breakfast room is so small that even after COVID, we were really wondering what kind of breakfast experience would be proposed since there is no room left for a toaster or a waffle maker and table for customer to sit to eat their breakfast, you should probably consider to have a real breakfast room rather than a space shared with the lobby Last the people, the receptionist were the worst we ever met, they were texting all the time and we had to wait for them to finish in line to get helped. The checkin/chekout process were the fastest ever, they gave us our keys without any verification, same for the key return, we were told to leave the key and go to the App for the invoice... really? The breakfast lady also seemed boring working there and was checking her phone all the time, really frustrating experience. The cleaning crew was doing geat work and very helpfull. Overall, great place for location, cost, clean/comfortable rooms with limited amenities/services

Clean, convenient and quiet hotel. The front desk staff, housekeeping staff were professional and very helpful. They answered any questions I had and were extremely responsive. Our room was so comfortable and clean. The bed was very pleasant and cozy. Along the gulf coast side of the island, there are many beach access walkways. Our hotel was in a very good location and just two quick walking blocks to the nearest beach access. There is also some parking spots at the access walkways so you don't have to carry all your beach stuff.

The hotel is in a nice location - probably a five minute walk to the beach and surrounded by plenty of places to eat/shop. Property is mostly clean, rooms were clean. Family of three with two streaming and one on laptop essentially the whole time with no issues, so good internet. Staff was super unfriendly. May have caught them on a bad weekend but they were unusually unpleasant all three days. Don't expect friendly or welcoming staff, but expect a clean room, cleanish pool and a pretty decent location for the price. Would have given four stars if more than one person would have smiled at us over the course of three days.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms were great. We had a great time staying there. Although the hotel is not on the beach. the Location is great. in the middle of the island. Close to all the attractions.

The single room with a king size bed felt really upscale. I didn't expect to see a huge walk in shower!! And a counter with a sink in the room itself! The room felt really comfortable and the sink made it really easy to wash our hands or anything instead of going to the bathroom. The breakfast was good too! I'd definitely stay again!! I recommend joining Best Westerns rewards club to get credit for your stays.

The hotel was very nice! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern and the towels were bigger than most hotels. We were in walking distance to South Padre and some shops. Take some time to walk around the blocks and see some beautiful homes and buildings.

We were within an easy walk of Blackbeards and some shopping and the beach. Room was spacious with everything we needed-- microwave, frig, table, chairs, extra sink and little sofa. During COVID, eating in the room is becoming common, so we appreciate the extra living space. The window seat was also cute. Breakfast was surprisingly good with hot food options. It was too early for using the outdoor pool. That appears nice, but small if one were to bring a big group. Will look forward to the hot tub on future visit.

Updated rooms and pleasant staff, Beds a bit uncomfortable (noise) and hot due to plastic over mattress. Nice table and 2 chairs for eating breakfast in room, lounge chair and desk with chair very comfortable. Refrigerator and sink together in room. Could use more shelf space by sink in bathroom.

The claim is 100% no smoking on the facility. I've been to the island several years in a row from 2017 for an annual event. The first year was okay, standard Best Western fare and I used my points. 2018 in spite of the "100% no smoking" policy the room smelled like smoke when we arrived, we moved to a different room and all was okay. In 2019 we saw several people walking their dogs into the building through the hallway entrance. 2020 we needed to be moved due to heavy smoke in the room, and during our stay multiple times we informed staff not just of smell of smoke in the hallway, but smoke visibly coming out of people's rooms. The attendant came up, saw that there was a "do not disturb" sign on the door and said they couldn't do anything. 2020 after talking with the attendant multiple times I left a message for the hotel management while I was there but got no response, so also left a negative review on another site and got a response of "what do you want us to do?" I want them to actually enforce their policies. It's time for the 2021 event (despite covid, ...) so I felt like leaving this review as I look for other hotels on the island. While the site is cheap and otherwise fine, they've convinced me to stay elsewhere.

The motel stay was excellent. The room was spacious and the location was a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The staff members were helpful and courteous. Preparing food in the room was easy, with a microwave and a refrigerator. We also appreciated the counter space and the table and two chairs.

Late November 2020 - Room 301 LIKES -Price (less than $60) -Location -Hot Breakfast (Cheese Omelette and Sausage) -Good Coffee -Good AC -Great WiFi -Mini frig, coffee maker and microwave DISLIKES -Very small tub -Low water pressure in shower (was told it was because we were on the third floor) -The room had a slight dog urine smell -King mattress was wrapped in a very thick plastic. Most hotel beds have a comforter, a flat sheet, a fitted sheet and a cotton bed liner. This bed also had a thick plastic wrap under the bed liner. My husband and I did not sleep well because of the thick plastic bedding wrap. Every time we moved, the thick plastic liner would make a loud crunchy noise and we kept waking each other up. It also made us hot and sticky throughout the night because the thick plastic was absorbing all our heat. I attempted to take the thick plastic off till I realized that the mattress was entirely wrapped in it. We stayed here one time before about a year ago. I did not review or remember any issues from last time so we decided to stay again. Based on the bad bedding, low water pressure and dog urine smell, I think I will try another hotel next time I'm in South Padre Island.

As a Platinum member of the Best Western rewards program, I stay in a lot of Best Westerns. Unfortunately, this property turns out to win the award for the rudest service. Not only were we greeted with rudeness at check-in but it continued throughout our long weekend stay. We were glad to leave and will not be returning to this property.

We had a pleasant stay at the Best Western Beachside Inn. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the wifi worked well. The hotel staff members we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short distance (.3 mile) from the beach with easy access. Overall a great location for staying on South Padre Island.

We would definitely recommend this hotel, everything was great, location, amenities, was really close to the beach and the location is in the Main Street of the island, we definitely have to go back in the next summer

Staff really showed they have no intention to assist customers, they were rude and very unfrendly, in 3 day I had to be in contact with them, no one even smile or acknowldge me as a customer,as i had to request several times, someone to clean the rooms, as " new hotel policy" they refused to clean the rooms on daily basis, instead they advised they would only clean rooms every 3 days regardless. Very disapointed with the cleaning procedures of a hotel.

Front desk staff ... typical “Don't Care” attitude , only happy when they CANT help you or you don't INCONVENIENCE THEM .. First night : Ants in the room (a lot) front desk staff couldn't be bothered .. handed me two room keys for other rooms to go check for ants and move there if I'd like to ..or not .. ‍ Second night needed help with humidity in the room and some fresh towels (they only clean the room every third day so if your there only three days your S out of luck ). No help, no answer and no towels .. AND no care in The world . Last day were checking out and at 10:02 I go down to grab our grab and go breakfast to take with us . Front desk lady is extremely annoyed at this and huffs and puffs out of her chair to grab one of the 10 still remaining bags of breakfast 2 feet behind her .. Only to suddenly burst out an ear to ear grin and almost joyfully exclaims that " breakfast ends at 10am" plumps back in her chair with a satisfied and accomplished look on her face and attitude and immediately goes back to playing on her phone .. That was the last and biggest Slap in the face I COULD'VE received from this property and I will GO OUT OF MY WAY TO AVOID IT and will tell anyone asking me about it TO DO THE SAME .

A/C is unable to keep up. Front count staff is marginal. Breakfast is below military MRE. Pillows are smaller than grandma's decorative couch pillows. Bed squeaked even from rolling over. Upside is the back bay and Gulf are equal distance and right next to the main road allowing for some options within walking distance and cart distance from others.

This hotel has pictures of a beach as if it's on the beach but it's not. It's a five walk to the beach. Aside from that the hotel was pretty ghetto as were the guests and the beds were really uncomfortable so I'm not sure why it has such high guest ratings. There was even a fight right outside our room. Would not recommend staying there.

When I first arrived, the front desk clerk was sitting at the front desk. I came up, and he didn't even say "Welcome", "Hello", or even "How can I help you". All the said was "I need your ID and method of payment". Ummm....ok? I travel all over the country, stayed in hundreds of hotels, and this is not the norm (even w/ the COVID situation). Hospitality doesn't stop b/c we wear a mask. He gave us a room, got to the room. It was NOT clean. Smelled of smoke, beer cans everywhere, beds in disarray, trash EVERYWHERE! I had my family with me, so it was a huge inconvenience to go all the way back down to the front desk, and I told him and tried showing him the picture BEFORE I posted. He said "I don't need to see it." No apology. NOTHING. He just said "Here try this room", and gave me a new key. Umm....you should know if a room is clean or not through your Property Management System. Everytime I walked through the lobby I was NEVER greeted. I had to do the greeting. Anytime I needed anything, more towels, breakfast, etc, it was like I was INCONVENIENCING THEM to do THEIR job. Their job is to HELP me, on my FAMILY vacation. This was the first time I had seen my family in 7.5 months. In conclusion, the hotel rooms (when cleaned) are nice (4 star, but gave 3 b/c of dirty room given w/ no apology). The location is pretty great, about 1.5 blocks from the beach access. They do have showers outside too when coming inside. The front desk staff is the ONLY reason why I am giving this a 2 star. @Management: if you can fix your front desk staff, you'd have a solid 4 hotel.

Bottom line, I would not stay here again. Although the facility LOOKED clean, it was actually FILTHY. See photo attached for what my white socks looked like after one day walking around my room. The bathroom floor was sticky. With COVID, this made me very insecure! My room was never serviced by 4:30 each day and I had to call. The housekeeper would come and try to hand me towels. The two I had did not speak English and could not understand that I needed my room cleaned and items replenished. I had to show the maid my dirty socks. She understood that and immediately went for the vacuum. They never replenished the coffee, or toilet paper. I had to call and ask for everything. The room had shades instead of curtains and the width was too short so it did not block the light on the sides. Our room was along the parking lot and the bright lights kept us awake. The mattress pad was a waterproof fabric that crinkled all night. The Grab Bag breakfast was awful, but understandable, given the circumstances. The pool is super tiny. The hallways were hot, so walking to your room wearing a mask was uncomfortable. As for location, it was further than I'd care to walk carrying all my gear. I ended up driving to nearby accesses.

Did not enjoy stay. Was not informed no hot breakfast. Pool taken over by one family of 7 adults, 1 teenager, 4 youth. Food and alcohol all over the pool area. The children of this family dumped doritos all on the other side of the pool they were sitting, became soaked and one could not walk. They were smoking. The language was horrible. We did not get to utilize the pool. We reported it to the front desk.

I had issues with my billing. The internet and TV went out for 2 days. There was NO to-go breakfast provided as advertised. The room was small. The staff didn't respond to my concerns. It took a day after I checked out to get a receipt & the receipt they emailed was illegible. Hotel guests were allowing their kids to run up & down the halls at 1am. I would NEVER stay here again. Worst hotel. Bad management!!!

I tried to inform the front desk upon check out that I was extremely upset with the service we received at Best Western this week. I never received a response from management. Upon check-in we were notified the pool was closed. It's my understanding the pool shut down the day we arrived which was Monday. Then I learned that despite reading online that a to-go breakfast was being served, there was in fact no breakfast provided. Probably the most upsetting thing about our stay was the lack of internet for 2 days. My family does not have an unlimited data plan on our cell phones. We had to use a lot of our own data to stay entertained. Also, with the internet being out, the TV did not work 2 days. There were guest running up and down the halls at midnight. Lastly when I went to discuss my concerns with management, they informed me they could not give me a receipt because the internet was still down. Almost 12 hours later I received an email receipt that was illegible. This has to be the worst service I ever received at any hotel. I would never stay here again.

Very friendly and professional personnel. Location perfect 1 block from beach. Pool and whirlpool great! Loved the little seat by window, 11 yr. old grandson loved it. THAT MAKES ANY GRANPARENT HAPPY!

Stayed here for 3 nights. The room was OK the price was good but there were a few negatives. The room wasn't made up until very late in the afternoon each day. The housekeeping staff actually ran out of towels one day and we had to go take some off another housekeeping cart later that day. The breakfast was nowhere near what you may get at say a Holiday Inn Express or similar place. The staff was very friendly and courteous however. This is not the #1 hotel on SPI by a long shot. Good not great

Very nice property. Centrally located, very clean and well maintained! Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate and comparable to similar hotels. Definitely recommend and we would definitely stay here again!

On the smaller side, the rooms are clean and everything was in working order. The staff was friendly and addressed any issues promptly. Quick walk to beach and several restaurants and cinema. Breakfast was varied, hot, and plentiful. Would stay again!

It was a great stay at the Beachside Best Western. The staff was very polite and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. Breakfast was great every morning we were there. The location was great! It was an easy and close walk to the beach. Another plus, nice restaurants within walking distance!

This is a newer facility and very modern; however, modern and efficient shouldn't replace roominess. Barely room to get around beds and no counter space. It was very clean and comfortable beds. ?close to a public access beach. The value was diminished by the size of the room and overpricing.

Overall the Hotel was very good, a great value for the money. It was clean and well kept. We spent 9 days there in January to get out of the cold back home. Many people had the same idea as us and it was fun to meet the other snowbirds. One couple had actually been coming to this same location for 22 years and talked about the renovations the hotel had been through over the years..If I had anything to complain about it would be the boring breakfast menu, yet for free what should we expect

While this hotel is not beachside, the beach is only a block and a half away. The place was clean, breakfast was better than most, the hot tub and pool were great, and the room met our needs very nicely for the price -would definitely recommend this hotel if you're dollar conscious. The only reason they don't get a 5 is the air conditioner was a little noisy.

A nice place, well situated, not too much expensive but restroom very small Personnel friendly,, good breakfast, room clean. No problem to check in even early time. Good restaurant nearby. good place to have late walk

Be sure to call first thing in the morning and verify your reservation and also be sure to let them know what time your arriving or your room won't be ready and they'll just give you whatever they want.

The only thing I would change is a way to stir your coffee. There were no stir sticks in the condiments. The beach was a short walk down the block and nearby restaurants were wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay!

If your looking for a well cleaned room with good air conditioning, WiFi , big restroom with amazing breakfast and close Bach access look so further. Great rates and fast friendly service. Highly recommended

The property was clean and orderly. Staff was friendly and checkin / check out was very easy. Only two complaints were the breakfast which was very average. We had stayed at another B/W in McAllen the night before and their breakfast was outstanding. The other issue was the water pressure in the shower. Other than those items the hotel was very nice.

My husband and I decided to check out South Padre Island as a possible "snow bird" place. We stayed at the Best Western Beachside and found it to be a great place. It was friendly, clean, close to everything, and comfortable.

Great location and great staff, I would totally refer the hotel to family and friends. I will definitely come back in the future with the kids. My children loved the location, pool, room and breakfast!!!

Beachside Inn is very new looking and modern. Everything was in working order. We had no problems during our stay. The breakfast was well laid out. Addition of mini omelettes instead of scrambled eggs would be nice. Hotel is a block from the beach and walking distance to some reasonable restaurants. We will stay here again.

where was the bacon? everything was great, I just would have liked bacon on one of the 7 days we stayed there. I love the blackout shades. The shower would not drain. I called the front desk and within 2 minutes, maintenance was in the room correcting it - impressive.

Very nice room, clean and comfortable. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that our room backed up to the fitness room and noise of exercise equipment came through the walls. Loud thumps and bangs from the weight machine is what we think ll

Was a little cozy but clean and nice. Enjoyed the stay. We did need bath soap from day one and had to remind to clean rooms and more towels. We will consider when returning to the Islsnd. Tha front desk was accomodating.

This BW checked all the boxes that we needed! It truly is a short walk to the beach! Super easy and convenient! Easy to find, and close to pretty much anything you might need! Breakfast was good and the staff members were genuinely glad to help any way they could! Nice updates in the room we had! Great job!

I loved the fact I was able to reserve a room, before hand.The only that needed service was the pool. The Jacuzzi did not get hot, but all in, a great spot for a weekend stay. I would recommend for other couples to stay at.

Great stay of three nights in a very clean and cozy room. Each day started with an excellent free breakfast before hitting the beaches or gift shops and restaurants. Staff was both cordial and professional with accurate information about what to do on the island. I want to return soon.

the dining area was not kept clean, during the breakfast time. we witnessed hotel staff - 4 to 5 individuals in the kitchen an/or maintenance room, standing around talking while service was needed in the dining area.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights in off season. The staff is friendly, the rooms are modern and clean, the location is as good as it can be without being directly on the beach. All was as advertised. There were a few minor problems: the rooms with two beds are a tight fit, the front desk had considerable difficulty applying a Best Western gift certificate, the floor cleaner has an overwhelming smell and should be changed, the breakfast could include simple items such as peanut butter and yogurt without gelatin for those with dietary restrictions, etc.

Room was very comfortable, clean and good size. Breakfast was great. Good selection and different type of egg Preparation each day. The egg omelet with velvet a cheese in the middle was very tasty. Quit area.

Laid back and clean. Great price and good location. The staff was great and pleasant to talk to. The pool and the hot tub were clean and the laundry room was spotless. The breakfast food was good and very convenient.

Wasn't sure what to expect. I've only stayed at one other BW property so pleasantly surprised. Clean, modern and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the waffles hit the spot. The proximity to the beach is an easy walk. We will be back.

It was a great place, staff friendly, they made our stay very comfortable, had a problem with the heat/air unit, but was fixed very quickly. Close to everything. If you like to stay in hotels. Stay here.

Every time I came to the counter they were in the back office. Other than that it was ok nothing spectacular. Breakfast was normal other than yogurt wasn't stocked well at all. Room was great. No HBO was a bit dissapointing

The hotel was clean and modern for the price, and situated on the main strip with access to many events.. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Only downfall was the room was a bit small but cozy. Highly recommend this place in South Padre Island!

Nice quiet hotel. A block off the beach. Very comfortable beds. People working at the check in were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty good, except for the fake tasting cheese on the eggs. Overall, would stay there again if on South Padre.

It was ok. I don't recall having an issue with anything in the room. I think I would stay there again when I visit the beach again. Maybe have a faster check in time. It took me about 20-30 min. Other than that I think I liked my stay.

This is a very clean and simple hotel, every hotel function is excellent, the breakfast. room cleaning, kudos to the nice personnel that is polite and helpful. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, free bottled water, and the availability of towels makes it a very nice place to be.

Went to South Padre for a quick weekend of sandcastles and sun with the family. Best Western was perfect for us with daily clean rooms and towels after the fun in the sand. Also a good breakfast every morning before heading out to the beach!

This is a really good hotel within walking distance to the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful (particularly the housekeepers!) and the place was always kept clean. The rooms are spacious and everything you need is close by. Will definitely be staying there again in the near future!

We went during off season, but the Beachside Inn didn't act like it was off season. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and the breakfast was wonderful. The only problem we had was the front desk during check in. The individuals acted as if we were putting her out by asking to check-in.

We were initially disappointed by the location because we assumed beach side meant on the beach. It actually means the hotel is located on the beach side of the island as opposed to the bay side. Putting that aside, this is a lovely hotel. It is only a less than 5 minute walk to the beach and it is very clean.

This was a perfect and affordable option for our vacation. One of the few hotels that is no smoking and no pets which is exactly what we needed for our health. Excellent location in the middle of the island. Most of the staff was friendly and everything was clean. Beds and pillows were comfy. If you have the choice, don't stay on the first floor because their set up for breakfast is noisy and wakes you up at 6:30 a.m. Their sign is pretty small with a tree in the way so watch carefully so you don't miss the turn. I would use this hotel again.

Our room was very big and the bed comfortable, we had everything we needed! Housekeeping did a great job too. The complementary breakfast was very good too and changed each day we were there. The elevator was a little bit slow and usually had to wait for it each time.

I like the hotel in general, the rooms, its close to the beach, and have a dollar general in the corner, the pool its ok, its a very clean place. Ill be back soon, my family loves the hotel, and the price are fabulous

My wife and I were in the area for a getaway. We chose this property based on previous visitor reviews and price. It was a bargain for the area and very clean and well maintained. We stayed two nights and found it was convenient to everything in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beachside Inn. The weather projections looked like it would rain every day, but I think we saw 10 minutes of rain one day, ...we were lucky. Did see rain in the distance rolling in off the Gulf,... but not on us. The hotel seemed quite new, the room was good sized, sort of a modern decor. The furniture is durable, functional and comfortable and fits the beach theme. We even had two TVs. Looks like they are keeping it up nice, they repainted the parking spaces while we were there. The hotel was, I'll say two blocks from the beach, one pretty long block and a bit to get to the access path, then a nice boardwalk to the beach. Quite walk-able. The beach there was quite beautiful. There was available parking at the end of the boardwalk during our off season visit. The front desk people were friendly and efficient. The rooms were nice and clean. There was a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker. Ours was split in the middle with a bed/tv on one side a separation and a couch/table/tv on the other. AC was nicely adjustable, all the fans were loud. Breakfast was pretty good, they rotated the egg options, scrambled eggs, then pre-made omelets with cheese, and also the side option, sausages, links, then patties and like a bell pepper potato sausage scramble. All nice and kept fresh. They also had two Texas shaped waffle makers, pretty good sausage and biscuits, various pastry items, yogurt and more. So pretty enjoyable with good selection for a moderate hotel. It's likely you'll find something you'll enjoy. Basically it was just what we wanted for our September beach stay, it wasn't crazy fancy or crazy expensive, it fit perfectly for our laid back get away week in SPI. A pleasant stroll to the beach, plenty of good seafood restaurants around, Blackbeard's is close, quite walk-able. Thinking everything we wanted.

The air conditioning unit was only blowing air, not cold air. All they could do was give us a fan! The outside temp was in the 90s. The room itself was very comfortable and more than adequate for our needs.

Recently updated, this hotel surpassed what I had expected, even for being in a nice area already. No complaints at all, just praises. Excellent staff, clean amenities and right next to the beach. What more could you ask for.

I stay at Beachside Inn when I have an opportunity to be on SPI because the hotel is spotless, rooms are spacious, the staff are helpful, and I feel at home there. The location is ideal because I never have a car and free bus line is nearby and restaurants I enjoy are within easy walking distance.

The best western beachside inn is a nice place to stay at the island. the staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was nice and clean and smelled fresh. The only negative thing was how small our room was. we had a two queen room and there was very little room to walk around the beds. maybe the king rooms are more spacious?

BREAKFAST Too much salt in the gravy, provide some bacon. cafeteria trash can is too small, very messy with trash falling out on floor and stacked on counter. Need to provide regular tea bags for tea.

This hotel was an amazing quality for the price we paid. We have always had the best experience with Best Western and this was no exception. The front desk staff was wonderful. The hotel was clean and modern. Within walking distance to the beach.

We stayed there this weekend for my gf birthday and the stay was perfect, from start to finish. The lady at the front desk was very helpful, the beds were comfortable, the restroom and shower were very clean, there breakfast variety was perfect to our needs. The distance to the beach was just 5 minutes, perfect walking distance!!!! We loved it and we'd definitely go back and highly recommend to stay!

I live here in the Rio Grande Valley we made a weekend trip to SPI and booked a room with two queen beds. The room was clean and comfortable, but a little small for two beds. The bathroom was nice and had modern fixtures but the shampoo, conditioner and bodywash bottles were attached to the wall and the pumps didn't work well. I would have preferred individual travel size bottles like you find in most hotels but again not a deal breaker. Pool and hot tub were small but very nice, my family had fun. Access to the beach is about a block and half walk from the hotel. If you want to park you car there you need to go early before 10am or later after 5pm to get one of about 8 parking spaces that are next to the access. I dropped of my family with all our gear and then drove the car back to the hotel, no biggie. There breakfast was really good, scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, waffles (Texas shaped), cereal, muffins, fruit, yogurt, juice (apple & orange) and good coffee. There are a lot of good restaurants and little shops really close by and if you go in the Summer there is a fireworks display close by on the bayside every weekend from the 4th of July through Labor Day weekend. Over all it is great little hotel, very affordable, clean and the staff was very helpful. I would take my family there again.

Room was good pool nice bathroom clean and as always front desk lady always friendly. I always look forward on staying there .gd location gd parking space . Always have a nice time and gd price for wat u get looking forward 2 staying there again

Great room, staff was nice, food was good, rooms was always clean. Would come back to this hotel in the future or any other best westerns. Price was just right. Check in and out was a fast and esat process.

The staff was so nice. It very close to the beach. I love the carts they offer to take your luggage to the room. The breakfast is really good. They offer waffles, eggs, sausage or links. A lone with biscuit and gravy, cereal, fruit, yogurt.

This was my 1st time staying at this hotel. I stayed here because of the reviews. It was pretty good overall. Closeness to beach was awesome. They had a station. To rinse the sand off when you got back to the hotel. They also had a pool which can stand to be a bit bigger because there were so many people in the pool but it was a nice set-up. The room was really nice. Wish they had balconies but its only a 2 story building. We stayed on the 1st floor. The beds were nice and plush and the bathroom was ok. We had an issue with the air condition. It was leaking so everytime we would walk to the closet or the second bed it was always wet so we had to wear shoes while in the room which sucked. The breakfast was ok I wish they would have had non pork options as I do not eat pork. Turkey sausage or turkey bacon would have been awesome. Overall it was a pretty good stat.

Do not stay at this location. Walls are paper thin, rooms are very small. The pool is nice as well as the front desk staff. The walk to the beach is not bad as this hotel is not on the beach but may be like 7 minute walk or so away. May be a little longer if you have little ones. We will not be staying here on our next visit. Yoi can hear a lot of talking, and noise while in your room.

This property is a good value for the price. They have clean and comfortable accommodations as well as a good breakfast included. They are located close to the beach It isn't fancy but it is a very nice family hotel.

This was the second time going to this location with my wife. Front desk staff polite and friendly. Breakfast was worth the value. Rooms were clean and slept well. Maybe 3 minute short walk to beach. Good dining within walking distance on each corner. Definitely going back again.

Clean room..nice people..great location..only 1/2 a block from the beach you can see access from the parking lot. Could improve of the breakfast. I will recommend it to my friends. I will stay here again.

Loved the modern feel & clean room! Location was walking distance to the beach & very close to everything. The pool & Jacuzzi area was great to hang out at after being stung by jelly fish at the beach. Everything went extremely smooth & couldn't beat the price! Highly recommended for a family or solo trip

We pre-booked our hotel through hotwire.ca. When we arrived at check in the customer service rep seemed totally disinterested in what she was doing. Not a smile - she checked myself, partner and two kids into a one king bed room. There was a green mattress near the window. Don't know if they expected my kids to sleep on a single green plastic mattress on the window sill. I went down stairs and requested to be moved to a room with two beds, the same disinterested woman looked at me and said, sorry we don't have any rooms available, there is nothing I can do you made a mistake when you booked not my fault. I requested to speak to a manager, she said, sorry no manager on duty just me. I asked for a cot or roll a way bed, I was told that they removed them all when they renovated so there was nothing she could do. I asked her about the green mattress on the window sill which she said she knew nothing about.

Clean and very spacious room. Friendly front desk. Only issue was the dining area. There is no room to move around and very limited seating. Food was good and coffee was extremely hot. My wife burned her hand trying to maneuver through the sea of bodies attempting not to spill on children running around. Overall we had a great stay. Not the staffs fault that the hotel was built with such a small dining area.

Our room was very room, the free breakfast was delicious, the pool & Jacuzzi were awesome, we could not have chosen a better location, we were close to everything but most importantly we got a great price!

We decided to go on a quick trip to South Padre and Best Western hasn't failed us yet. Rooms and bathroom were clean, breakfast was satisfying had both cold and hot items. Waffles were amazing. Check in was quick as was check out. Beds were comfy and the microwave in room was nice for our nighttime popcorn. We will be back.

We drove down for an extended weekend in SPI with our baby. We found the hotel to be everything we needed! I think the price was very reasonable for the great location, easy parking, and huge clean rooms. Everything seemed new, not run down and sandy like some of the other hotels and condos in SPI. Our room had a small kitchen area with a sink, refrigerator, and table and chairs, which were great for our baby! The bed was comfortable and the oversized shower was great. The beach is a two-block walk down a quiet street. It took us about five minutes, even with all of our baby gear! It's also across the street from Blackbeard's, one of our favorite restaurants on the island. Highly recommend for a nice stay on a budget.

Fairly centrally located. The room was clean and comfortable. The daily services (room attendant) were excellent. The complimentary breakfast was nice. The "view" however was less than pleasing, and the available parking was less than adequate. All in all the stay was very nice the staff were exceptional!

This hotel is impeccably clean, near our photo venue and has friendly staff. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is modern and sleek! Have stayed at this location three times in the past year and will return in the future.

Excellent location for quick walk to the beach. Clean facility and friendly staff. Rooms are very secluded in sound dampening. We were 2 rooms from breakfast and could smell the coffee, but couldn't hear the people in the breakfast area until we opened the door.

Stayed at the BW Beachside inn for our Anniversary trip. Front desk was nice & always helpful and accommodating. With only 1 elevator, I felt like I spent a lot of time waiting for it. The room was spacious for the 2 of us, generally pretty clean. My biggest complaint is the bed. Not only did it make my back hurt, but it also had a waterproof mattress cover on it. I felt like I slept on plastic every night & it made the bed SO. HOT. The mattress cover had a nasty stink too (although my husband said he didn't smell it.) After our first day there, the shower drain clogged and drained SUUUUPER slow the rest of the trip. The beach is about a 3-5 min walk away, which was nice. All these things did not ruin my trip, but I don't know if I'd choose this hotel to stay at again.

We had a good rest! Room was pretty neat, decent breakfast! The room was very close to the beach, few miles away! Great stay overall, we will do it again next year! Not expensive at all compare to others!

The manager, Sanay, was super friendly and accommodating. He offered us two room options and even suggested that one room would be best due to less foot traffic. So nice! Rooms were always cleaned upon returning at the end of the day. (Coming from a clean freak -- this says a lot!) The waffles were the star at breakfast and there was plenty of coffee to go around. Elevator and luggage carriers were convenient for transporting bags and beach equipment. There was even a water hose to rinse off the sand before entering the hotel. BTW you are close to two beach access points -- Beach Access #17 has a carpeted walkway and Beach Access #16 has a wooden boardwalk with stairs. Both are a 2-3 min walk from the hotel. Not bad at all!

The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a good variety of food to select from. Because it was a big holiday week the lines could get a little tong, but no more than a 5 or 10 minute wait. Rooms were clean. The shower didn't have a great amount of pressure but no issues. Walking distance to the beach.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was nice and clean. The only thing was that it felt and sounded like there was some plastic under the sheets on the bed. Made it a bit uncomfortable to sleep on. However, the hotel is close to the beach and some good bars and restaurants.

Room smells really bad and I ask the manager to replace the A/C filter but instead he offer me another room which also smell like garbage, so he refused to replace the filter on the A/C unit and told me to leave and he'll refund my money in a few days. Keep in mind this was the only reservation i had and making a last minutes reservation in any hotel it was going to be very expense. Also this hotel don't have access to the beach like the pictures show on they website, the pictures are from a public beach access about 4 to 6 blocks which mean you have to walk or drive to the beach. I made this reservation a month ahead and drove almost 9 hours for nothing.

Great hotel, great location, close to beach. Very clean rooms, excellent housekeeping service, and friendly staff. Heads up, when they are busy, the breakfast area is very cramped because it is a smaller area compared to other hotels on average. But the breakfast is delicious and provides lots of options! Outside shower provided to get the sand off before returning to your room.

I had not stayed at a BW in a VERY long time and was pleasantly surprised that this was very comfortable, clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The only thing we found slightly negative was the breakfast area. It is very small for the size of the hotel and the guests it tries to serve. It took about 20 minutes get waffles made due to the long line, and limited tables to sit and eat.

I read the reviews before booking this hotel for a one night stay at South Padre Island and we were very pleased! The room was very clean and decorated very nice and quiet!! The breakfast was very good too, we highly recommend this hotel for a stay at the island, also it is a less than 5 minute walk to the beach!

Nice people, nice location. Need variety in the breakfast and maybe more personal during high season. Rooms are well equipped, maybe more handicap rooms. The cleaning lady was the most sweet of all! Thanks

I'm learning that Best Westerns are coming up in their hotel game with cleaner hotels, and great customer service. I almost didn't believe that I could like this room better than the the one at the Hilton Garden Inn right on the beach... but I did! I would definitely stay here again and I'm pretty hard to please in hotels. The room was clean and I didn't worry about cleaning while we were there - grabbed towels for enough days and kept the Do Not Disturb on the door. It was quiet on our floor and around our room (305), and despite the slow elevator and water on the floor in the elevator, we found our time completely worry-free. Be warned... it's not directly on the beach, but it's a super short (3min)walk to the ramp putting you right on the sand. There is also public parking right next to the ramp if you get there early enough. Big thumbs up because you cannot have an umbrella or covered shade until 9am. We didn't even bother with breakfast at the hotel (come on folks, venture out a little bit) - we can recommend the AWESOME meal at Yummies Bistro if you are looking for a “real” breakfast.

Its always a pleasure staying at the Best Western, after a long travel i was able to check in early, friendly staff had some breakfast with wife and kids and headed out to enjoy the beach with the family.

The hotel itself is clean inside and out. It's conveniently located one block away from the beach. Just a short walk away. The breakfast was just your average hotel breakfast. I was actually expecting more pastry options for on the go breakfast. The bathroom smelled of stale drain water. Not pleasant. Over all it was a decent stay.

I usually stay at this hotel when im on the island for business. The rate is always resonable and the staff is friendly. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and the beach. Rooms are always clean.

Hotel was clean and newly remodeled. Only issues I had was whatever mattress cover they use the plastic makes noise every time you move and it makes the bed hot. Other that that it was priced fairly and breakfast was hot every morning.

Fix lobby air it could be cooler, more meat choices at breakfast everybody don't eat bacon or sausage and maybe have some type of fruit water for guest thru the day. Your staff was very polite and knowledgeable

Awesome place to stay. 1 block from the beach. In walking distance. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. Breakfast was given from 7-10 am everyday. Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was not of the healthiest choices. Ended up in a local restaurant Computers in the lobby did not work despite the efforts of 2 employees There are other options fornlidgi g of comparable cost but with better accommodations and amenities

Room was excellent with no issues. No problems with bugs or signs of any mold. Good customer service by the front desk personnel. On a busy week, I recommend parking the vehicle and walking, hotel parking kind of small. I'd return to this hotel if I ever go back to the island.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Good breakfast each morning. Easy short walk to the beach. Great pool area. On the down side the water temp in the handicap room is cold and not much counter-top space. Over all we would be glad to return to this Best Western.

This was a nice, clean & friendly place to stay. Not perfect as room was a little small, TV services were adequate, small pool and the free breakfast was just ok. Pros, bed was comfy & AC worked great. Great location too.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Best Western. This hotel is so clean and comfortable. AC in our room was as cold as we needed it. Only a block from the beach. Staff were so friendly and breakfast was amazing. I would definitely recommend if you are going to South Padre Island.

Great hotel right in the middle of SPI. The walk to the public beach access is just over two blocks and is an easy walk. The breakfast was great and the hotel was very clean. Swimming pool is small but kept up well. Staff were very friendly.

The room and pool were small, and the motel is a good stretch from the beach. If these aren't important, you will love staying here. The breakfast was great, and the rooms very comfortable, quiet, and clean. All the staff were terrific. This is a very nice facility.

Close to the beach, easy access. Bathroom needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. Mattress comfortable, but mattress pad had a plastic lining that made crunchy sounds, felt like I was sleeping in a crib. Pillows were like lumpy bricks, bring your own!

The hotel was in a great location near the beach and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and the room was very comfortable. The hotel served a great breakfast and the dining area was very clean. Overall we were very happy and satisfied with our stay and service at this hotel.

We were in town for a cheer competition. This was such a cute hotel. We enjoyed the extra mattress above the ac unit, the coconut scented lotion and the shampoo dispenser in the shower. We enjoyed our stay.

Super beautiful renovated Best Western, modern, very spaceful room and very close to the beach. Would definitely stay there again. Price was super, payed much less then in other BW hotels that were much worse. Very friendly staff.

We checked in and ask for a room on the third (top) floor. We had a king room that had a small table , sofa, sink ,refrigerator and a microwave. The rooms have great blackout blinds and a nice flexibility reading light beside the bed. The king rooms have a large walk in shower and the double queen rooms a tub with shower. The hotel has been updated within the last few years and is spotless. The pool area and hot tub were nice as well as the free breakfast. I was really impressed that all door closers worked great and didn't slam waking everyone on the floor if you're an early riser like me. Every employee was friendly and helpful and provided us some good recommendations for the area. We stayed an extra day and were moved to a double queen room since no Kings were available. The move went flawless and was only across the hall. This is not our normal chain but based on T/A reviews we gave it a try and I'm really glad we did! The only glitch was the safe in our first room would not work even after being reset by maintenance. The second room it worked great. Certainly not a deal breaker. I would definitely visit again!

The shower was not functionable , the soap dispenser in the shower was also in-op . When checking out I brought these problems up with the staff and they did apologize but I thought that they should have offered something more than thanks for telling us .Taking a shower in the AM is pretty high on the list of expectations when staying at a hotel.

This hotel fit my allergy needs for no smoking and no pets. I was given a great suite with a separate living area. The washroom included a spacious shower. The room was always clean and the complimentary breakfast was fab with waffles, oatmeal, eggs, bacon or sausage, juice, coffee, toast, mini muffins and cinnamon buns and even biscuits with gravy. The staff was friendly and helpful. An extra bonus was the outdoor shower where I could rinse my kite gear. I hope to come back soon.

When I walked in the room my first impression was wow, was modern was a great size it was very spacious. Also,It smelled great. It smelled clean! The bed was very comfy. The breakfast was great. The only thing they missed was that I requested a crib for my baby, it got approved and I didn't have a crib in my room when we checked in. But other than that, I don't have any complain. I would definitely stay here again.

Friendly desk staff, quick check in and out. Hot breakfast buffet, eggs,sausage,waffles, and there is plenty of cereal and bread items, plus yogurt and a small selection of fruit (Bananas and apples). Room on third floor was quiet until the weekend. Room doors slam and kids in the hall screaming. Bathroom is very small, no vanity space. Housekeeping was not the best, never changed our sheets for 3 nights and never made our bed. Only way we knew they came is we had clean towels. Also, room seemed clean but found a dirty plastic knife by garbage can. There is only a shower in the bathroom, no tub. Room was spacious with a big sink, small fridge and a microwave. Bed was near room air conditioner and that was nice. All this aside, I would stay here again. There is a small workout room, we used it twice and were the only ones in there. We did not try the pool or hot tub. It is a short 5 min walk to the beach and there are restaurants within walking distance.

I was very pleased with my room. It had a lounge chair, frig, microwave, table, and a sink. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom door would not stay open. The breakfast was good. 2 blocks from the beach. I have not pleased in the past with my stays at Best Western so I am glad I gave it another try.

We were less than impressed by the hotel itself. For one thing, our room was right by the elevator (apparently, all the king-sized beds were by elevator) and it was very noisy. Further, the mattress had plastic on it, like you would have if you thought a child might soil the bed. And the pillows were chunky. And the linens themselves were pretty low-grade. The staff, however, especially the woman who checked us in and who was there every day in the afternoon-night shift, was particularly nice, helpful, professional, etc.

Great experience all around. Very friendly front desk staff. Clean comfortable room with good size refrigerator and microwave. Staff seemed to be constantly cleaning lobby which was great with the amount of foot traffic from the beach. Breakfast variety was not huge but certainly more than enough to satisfy all tastes. Central location and reasonable room rates made this a great choice.

I booked through an outside source and there was a problem with the booking company so the hotel didn't have our reservation. Fortunately there were available rooms. The on-site price was less than the price through the booking company! And the clerk put us in a better room, more suited to our needs. The room was clean and nice. The sheets aren't luxury, but they were satisfactory. The breakfast was adequate, but nothing spectacular. It's a short and easy walk to the beach. Close to the birding center and Sea Turtle Rescue. The pool and hot tub were great. We were there during a rare spring cold front, so we were grateful for these diversions! The service was fantastic. If you're vacationing on a budget, this is a great value for the price.

Everything was great. Only the sink was slow in draining. Our biggest problem was going during the week and not the weekend. Not much to do during the week. Also the wrong time of year for swimming in the ocean. too cold

We stayed one night in late February. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable and the location of this property is convenient to everything around. If I were to return to South Padre I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel has many problems. When we were the white staff looked like snow was covering parking and cars. They had problems with ice machine or something like that. In our unit the window were broken and nobody give any attention to it. When I looked this hotel online it was described as it has fitting room, but that wasn't true. The breakfast was very modest. The location of this hotel is great. The front desk is very nice people. The property wasn't clean.

Clean rooms, great breakfast, great staff!! Very convenient location...close to restaurants, very close to the beach, and a Dollar General store next door. It is perfect!! Karina, the front desk clerk is the best. She is very outgoing and very familiar with the island.

The hotel overall was not bad. However, the air conditioning did not dehumidify the room and it was always sticky feeling in the room. We had an incident at 4 am in the morning where someone was banging on our door trying to get in our room. I called the front desk but I don't know if they ever checked on it or not. Very disturbing experience. The hotel is not on the beach as Expedia leads you to believe.

Nicely furnished, clean and comfortable room in a good location. However, I do think that Front Desk need some more training on greeting/acknowledging guests upon arrival when there are several guests waiting to be checked in. A smile or a glance to acknowledge your presence would be welcoming. We also had an issue with a severely clogged shower and reported it and it was immediately taken care of and we certainly appreciated that. If in this area again, we would return to this property.

The hotel was clean, staff courteous and breakfast was adequate. My only complaint were the pillows. They were so thick and would not give. It threw my neck in an ackward position and only way I got any sleep was to sleep on rolled up towel.

Stayed at BW for 2 nights. Hotel was very clean. The breakfast offered consisted of waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, biscuits, toast bread, and your basic breakfast drinks (coffee, tea, orange juice, etc). Bed was comfy. Bathroom was beautiful. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Overall, great hotel! Will definitely book again on next visit!

We spent two nights here and would come again. Nice area to play card games. Friendly staff they were ready for us even though we were early. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious with variety to choose from. The attendant was smiley and interacted with the guests she kept things full. The rooms were very nice, comfy beds, clean. The laundry facilities were a bonus! Met some really nice folks staying there.

This hotel was very modern with very good lighting. The room was small and the bathroom area was clearly not designed for safety or comfort. The toilet paper was on the opposite wall from the toilet and one had to really reach for it. The shower pressure was weak and one could barely rinse off the gel soap provided in miniscule amounts. There was no hold bar. The light while blindingly bright was connected to a horribly loud fan. The bathroom door would not stay open unless propped. There was no surface area to place one's toiletries or toothbrush. Other than that the hotel was very clean with a small breakfast area and check in area. If one has any sort of claustrophobia this is not for you.

This hotel is clean and updated. The rooms are very nice. I thought the front desk person was a little rude when I checked in but other than that it was a very pleasant stay. The breakfast was very nice as well although they ran out of yogurt and the fruit selection was not great.

We stayed here one night and cannot say enough good things about it. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We were able to check in early even though the hotel had been full the night before. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the beach. The breakfast was well stocked and had something for everyone. Absolutely one of the best values I've had in a hotel stay in a long time!

Karina was awesome! Ask for her if she's available. Hotel is clean, updated & one block from beach access. Beds were awesome, slept well once we moved to 319. Originally in room 108 which was next to breakfast room so was noisy starting about 7 am. Bathroom fan sounds like jet engine & doesn't exhaust steam. Connected to light switch so no way to turn it off. I mean it's really loud!! Used room mirrors instead. We were in two different rooms both this way. Hot tub heater connected to hot tub jets. No jets, no heat. Takes about 2 hours to heat up. Staff not helpful on this. Told me it would heat up in 5 minutes. HA! Karina wasn't there to help. Had to keep running downstairs to keep jets blowing in order to heat it up. Typical hotel breakfast ran out of pastries about 9 am but served til 10. Probably won't stay again when we go back just too many issues.

The Rooms were clean, up to date and quite. Breakfast waffles are good but those water based eggs tasted like your eating cardboard, but everything else was good plus its free so you get what you pay for . I will stay again

Comfortable and clean beds. Breakfast good. Used some discount coupons for local food places and attractions hotel had at front desk. Was nice! Went to Dirty Al's awesome fresh shrimp and margaritas reasonably priced. So Padre Brewery great pizza and beer order before 7pm to get in on Happy Hour specials.

One of the most modern and well thought out hotel rooms that I have stayed in recently. Rooms were exceptionally clean, roomy and had a ton of outlets. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and this was also one of the best breakfast buffets in recent stays. Will stay there again when in the area.

We chose to stay at the Best Western Beachside Inn as we have stayed several times in the past. Everyone and everything there is great from the minute you walk in the door to checkout. The room was very nice,,,clean,, great beds. The breakfast is good with a nice variety to choose from. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

This spot is excellent. The lobby and rooms are freshly updated. It feels really trendy and hip. There's a pool, wifi, and free breakfast. Well worth it. The bed was super comfortable and I've got nothing bad to say about. I'll stay here again in a heart beat.

I recently visited South Padre Island to do a bird tour. We chose to stay at the Best Western Beachside Inn as I was not familiar with any of the properties on the island. This is a very clean place and they have a great breakfast. The staff are very helpful. The location is great. Short walk to the beach and you can walk to restaurants if you want. I will be staying here again in future!

I made a very last minute decision to stay at Best Western. Not disappointed, it was a great stay and my kids enjoyed it also. Will be going back soon. The staff was very professional and made sure our stay was comfortable.

The staff at hotel were extremely helpful and cheerful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The pool area could be larger and the could be more outside seating. This was an excellent value for the quality. Felt safe and secure.

I was here for two weeks, January 2019 and I have to say I saw NONE of the issues others have written in the past. The front desk staff was always there, Karina(sp?) was very nice and attentive, the gym facility is really good, and the outdoor hot tub was a nice addition to my stay. Did I say the hot breakfast was awesome? It is served from 7am to 10am. Very nice. I like the location because you could catch the buses either going up Padre Blvd or the one going up Gulf Blvd. I am already planning on coming back and staying longer later this year.

We drove to South Padre to spend our 58th Anniversary. Had a very nice king size room. Very pleased with the accommodations and breakfast that was available the next morning. We enjoyed seeing the sandcastle display

Rooms are great, modern and trendy! Great in room coffee. Great location for dining or grabbing something at the store across the street. Friendly staff, good hot breakfast, Nice bed, towels, etc...and a great price to top it off.

Deep winter is a great time to visit SPI. The cost of the room was excellent, especially because the beach is about a block and half away. The building, lobby, and rooms all appeared in excellent condition. So either the hotel was recently renovated or rebuilt entirely. Our room was on the smaller side, so there was no armchair. Instead, the room had a padded window seat, which was a nice place to look out across the neighboring empty lot. More scenic than it sounds. The shower (no tub) also had brand new fixtures and included bulk shampoo/conditioner dispensers. The decor is super cute with fun photograph murals and other smaller beach themes. One oddity was that the mattress was covered in plastic sleeve under the bottom sheet, which made crinkly sounds as you moved around. I was worried that the sound and texture would keep me up at night, but it was fine. I guess they're protecting the very comfortable mattress from wet swimsuits.

Hotel has been newly renovated, and they have done a phenomenal job with it. You walk in and feel like you are on vacation with modern decore. The place has been kept very clean. We loved our stay here. Location is perfect too!!! For the price, you can't find anything better. Hot breakfast in the morning is a plus too. Staff is super friendly and all the amenities are up to date as well.

This place is located just one block from the beach. Public access to the beach can be found anywhere along the road. Very friendly and courteous staff. The pictures of the rooms matched the actual experience.

This BEST Western was clean and the staff made our stay very pleasant . Poor WiFi was our only problem . Location was better than the old location. Much closer to town and places to eat. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting SPI.

Not actually beachside but on one of the only two streets running the length of the island. Good clean room bathroom a little small with no place to set toiletries. Carpet clean and a nice tv to watch

We found Beachside Inn a great stay for me and my wife. Very easy to get to and central for our stay. My wife uses a scooter and found the space to get around both in the lounge and the elevator. Our room had a lounge chair that she could rest in.

The room was very nice and comfortable, check in was easy and the young lady was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We would stay there again. The hotel was easy to find and it's close to restaurants

We found this to be a clean, contemporary and well maintained property, with a hearty full hot breakfast each morning. Karina at the front desk was very welcoming and shared information about the area. Other staff members also made our stay very pleasant. Internet access performed well as did the cable TV. We did have occasion to use the microwave and refrigerator after we had to bring home part of a very large meal from one of the local restaurants. There are restaurants within easy walking distance and access to the Gulf of Mexico beach is about a block away. The only thing we would have liked would have been more counter space around the bathroom sink for shaving and toiletry items, and additional wall hooks. Other than that, the well lighted bathroom had contemporary fixtures. All things considered, I don't think we could have chosen a better hotel for the price we paid.

The hotel is a block away from the beach, which isn't that far at all. The room they gave us said no smoking but it seems that the last people didn't care and smoked in it. Martha the desk clerk was quick to upgrade us to a room that was not a smoker room and really took care of us.Breakfast was good also.

Great value and location one block from beach. Walked to restaurants for dinner. Beautiful pool and hot tub. Room very clean and bed comfortable. Shower was updated and wonderful. Will definitely return!

We booked this as a last minute birding trip. We couldn't have been more pleased! The hotel is well managed and maintained perfectly. Everything worked exactly as it was supposed to. The front desk staff were fantastic. I have to give special mention to Martha and Karina who were the best desk staff I have encountered in years. They contributed immeasurably to our stay. The breakfast could have been “better”. It was good, don't get me wrong, there was a good selection. But to be specific, the breakfast sausage links were prepared in a very unappetizing way. Instead of being nice and browned, they were gray and yucky looking. Everything else was up to standards. They even served good coffee. All in all, this place exceeded our expectations for a clean, quiet, comfortable stay. I give it the highest marks and recommend it completely.

I can't say enough words about Karina. She went above and beyond.I got to the hotel so early and had some work to do on the internet,I asked her if I could use the business center while we wait for check in . She was able to even let me check in early and got to do my work stuff before fun begins. We stayed at this hotel same dates last year, she was here too. Lovely open setting and within 5 minutes walk of miles of beautiful beaches...The check in was easy our room on the top floor was tastefully decorated with an attractive window seat. All the usual BW facilities were of a high standard

We literally had no complaints. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Check in and out went smoothly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom we're both excellently clean. Walking distance to the beach, dollar general, and restaurants.

The stay here was an excellent experience. Raul was hosting in the lobby, which was clean and comfortable. The dining area for breakfast was well laid out and breakfast in the morning was slightly above average. The biscuits were a little hard. The room and bathroom were roomy and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

First time staying on the Island since there were two rare birds there- White-crowned Pigeon and Masked Booby. Hotel was convenient to both. Clean room, easy parking, comfortable beds, good room lighting, and a beach type feel to the interior decorating were all pleasing. Stayed on 3rd floor with a palm tree moving in the breeze right outside window.Air conditioning not too noisy.

Not only was the room in excellent shape, it was clean and comfortable! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great each day. The pool and common areas were nice, up to date, and fun to use. And we were a 1/2 a block away from the beach! Excellent location for the awesome price!

I read all the great reviews & decided to try. Rooms are clean, bright, & nice. Towels are rough & tattered. No handicap parking in front. Breakfast was really weak. The worst was we were on the top floor & they were putting on a new roof. I told desk at check in I did not want to hear the pounding. I was lied to that the next day they would not be working, then lied to the morning of that day they would be finished by 5. They were still working when we went to dinner. They did stop for darkness. We come to SPI several times a year & will find another hotel.

The hotel was fine, clean with a helpful desk clerk. While pictures, supposedly of the hotel, show a sandy beach walk, the hotel is at least a 5 minute walk from any sand. It is on a busy road that runs the length of South Padre. It would not have been a disappointment had we not expected to be on the beach.

We stayed one night while in SPI. Picked this hotel because it was one of a list we could get on points and we were not disappointed. Check in was easy and our room was ready early. The bed was comfy and the room had all the things we needed—- a fridge, a microwave, a little sitting area and the ac was perfect, could be set for any temp we wanted. All the outlets you need for your electronics are available in the perfect places for plugging in. The wifi signal is strong and works perfectly. The free breakfast in the morning is yummy- waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits, good coffee juice cereals etc. No shortage of choices. The stroll to the beach is not far about 3/4 of a block and entrance #16 is right there. On checkout there was a problem with the reservation made through points and the hotel had charged my credit card. Some sort of glitch in the transfer of information from the points program. Even though there was risk of the hotel not getting paid, they resolved the issue by refunding my credit card the full amount, stating they are much more concerned with us having a happy stay then having us trying to fight for payment from the points program on a Sunday morning (which also happened to be my birthday). I have since made sure the hotel got their fees covered! All in all the best western beachside is a great property, inhave no trouble recommending it to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

My stay was disappointing in South Padre Island. The road construction in front of the hotel with out any type of communication was very unprofessional and deceitful considering the advance reservation booking. The check in was about a five minute wait. The receptionist seem to be overwhelm somewhat, in my opinion. Parking was a cat and mouse scene, really it was"there a parking spot hurry and get it". What nonsense, The hotel is in a good location five minute from the beach not two minutes like the advertisement states. Breakfast was not that good, the coffee and juice I guess was the highlight. Get there early of course, breakfast is served early. The ice machine was not available on the second floor. The floors seem thin. Our second night I had to call on a unit on the third floor. They or someone paced the floor from midnight till about four AM in the morning, it was terrible. Rooms were very comfortable, clean, and modern. This motel near several restaurants less than five minutes away. Good restaurants, Pier 19, Black Beard, not to Impress with the healthy burger restaurant. The restaurants on the beach or excellent, and not very expensive. The hotel give s out a list of recommended places. Visit the beach, The Ocean Turtle hospital, The north end of the beach is less crowded, but away from the eateries, etc. Port Isabel has traditional venues and customs. Visit the beach at night the sky views or spectacular. I would recommend another hotel base on my stay at Best Western Beachside. I was not impress at all with the hotel considering the price that I paid for nights we stayed. Book your stay in advance to save on pricing.

The service was so friendly that the desire to please was almost palpable. The room itself was a study in comfort and effectiveness. An example: most bathrooms don't have sufficient exhaust fan capacity to keep the mirror from fogging after a hot show, but no problem here. A great breakfast and the area was kept immaculately. Keep doing everything the same way as you do it now.

Very clean, very quiet, good breakfast, short walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again. Exactly what I expected and the room was pretty spacious for the price point. Friendly desk staff. No complaints here!

Will never stay againGive a credit for our first night being poor the shower did not work the air didnt work there was no maintenance guy there and no other rooms available we had a our grandbabies and it was rough with them getting so hot and the room had a weird smell to it and when we first got there our grand baby found a jar of vaseline in the floor by the bed. When we complained they said no rooms were available and the next day they called right before we were to go on a boat tour and we missed the tour and took a later one to go change out rooms our new room was much better the air worked the room did not stink we were fine with the new room. When we checked out I asked for a discount and they only offered a 10% discount which was not much we should not have had to pay the first night it was a horrible experience. I got the final receipt it was the same as what my reservation said I was to pay I talked to the mana her said the amount I was talking about was before taxes and he did take 10% off but I have my email as proof of the charges I am very unhappy with the hotel.

We do not take very many trips, so this one was special, and so was our stsy, room comfortable, staff helpful, and breakfast quite nice, we drive to the beach with plenty of parking. There were not many umbrellas so would suggest get there early

A brief 5 minute walk to the beach. A great location with all the comforts in this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. I was pleased with the breakfast; really enjoyed the large choices for breakfast.

The Best Western Beach side Inn was very nice. The rooms were clean, modern & looked as if it had recently been renovated. The staff was friendly. The free breakfast was good except for the eggs being a little too salty. There was sausage, but no bacon. The coffee was great. The beach is just a block away & the beach access is very very close. We will more than likely return & the price turned out to be very economical for us.

Road in front was getting tarred and the parking in front of the hotel was very limited. There was no side-walk to walk to the beach and the road to the beach got really dark in the evening and did not feel safe. The check-in process was long. There was no one at the desk when we walked in, the front desk person came in with another customer ~ 2 minutes later, and was busy with them for the next ~5-6 minutes without looking at or saying one word to the waiting customers. Finally got our key and were pleased to see the room looked really clean. Bathroom had tiny roaches roaming around. Exhaust in the bathroom was on the same switch as the light was extremely loud. Bed had a plastic liner, made a lot of noise every time we moved; it felt like we were sleeping on a plastic sheet. A/C seemed to stop cooling at night and the room was hot and muggy even with the thermostat being at 65F. Breakfast was okay, fresh pancakes were nice.

We stayed for 2 nights. The reservation process was easy. It's quiet and the bed was comfortable. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Good, hot breakfast. Adequate parking with a clean pool. Definitely would come back.

Very clean and the most comfortable beds so far on the island. Been to at least 10 different hotels on the island and by far the best for the price. Cool A/c and free hot breakfast. They didn't offer complimentary tooth brush...that's a first for me at any place.

One block from beach, really kind people, breakfast included (buffet), really good, you can take a "wave", is a free rides bus that can take you all over the island even to Port Isabel, and they have many atractions to enjoy.

The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean. They have far too small of a breakfast area for the amount of people at the hotel and old fashioned air conditioning that is noisy. The hotel could use some updating as there was an odor in the hallway. It was not a terrible place at all but it is average. My theory is you get what you pay for. If it was on the beach it would get a much better rating.

The location was a three minute walk to the beach entrance, great clean location with a great value for the room, the rooms aren't Large but have plenty a room for what you need beds were comfortable staff was Fantastic, the hotel seems like a newer hotel so no issues, I'll definitely come back when I make another family trip

I booked this hotel, as it was top ranked on tripadvisor.com. We were not disappointed. Very close to beach and the restaurants, The Sea Turtle Inc, Birding station, etc. The bed sheets were clean and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was hot and items were fresh. We enjoyed our stay and got the worth of our money spent.

The room was nice and clean, I order the one with the wet bar so we can have a bigger room, bed and pillows were comfy, shower was spacious. My only complain is the breakfast, there was very little to choose from and it was very small and tight when waiting to get food

Recently remodeled with nice finishes. Amazing bed & bedding! Quiet room. Okay breakfast,standard for a basic hotel but many of amenities were more like a more expensive place.front desk was attentive to our needs.

If you dont mind a short walk to the beach, this is really nice. The rooms are clean, the pool was clean, the lobby was nice to. It was comfortable. The breakfast was awesome. My only issue was the breakfast staff. One lady had to be reminded over and over to restock items and she was slow. Other than that, the stay was great. I recommend this place.

Best Western Beachside Hotel, SPI We stayed three nights in room 309 at the back of the hotel and slept great because it was very quiet. Our room was comfortable and had a minifridge and sink in the bedroom. The room also had a microwave and a small table with comfortable chairs where we enjoyed a quiet breakfast each morning. The light switch in the bathroom also turned on the exhaust fan, which was very loud, and the bathroom door is spring-loaded so it shuts automatically. If you want the bathroom door to be open at night, you have to prop it open with a small piece of luggage. The shower was large, but mixer for cold and hot water was very different. Usually the temperature of the water increases as you move the control arm from the starting position to its final position. In our shower, the control arm began at 6 o'clock and rotated counterclockwise 270 degree to nine o'clock. When you moved it all the way to 9 o'clock, the water was lukewarm, but when you moved the arm to 12 o'clock, the water was hot. As you moved the arm to 1 and 2 o'clock, the water became very hot. Very strange and unexpected. We were satisfied with the breakfast items offered, and the biscuits with gravy was actually very tasty. You can walk to the ocean-side beach from this hotel. When you walk out of the front of the hotel, turn left and walk east one block on East Venus Lane to Gulf Blvd. Cross over Gulf Blvd and turn right. After a short distance you will come to short street (Neptune Circle) on your left. Turn left into Neptune Circle for access to the beach. We stayed at the hotel Friday through Monday, and the hotel was packed with families enjoying the beach. I believe that the room rates are pricey for what you get, but that is the way it is on SPI during the summer, particularly right children go back to school.

We liked the roomy room with a small table with two chairs and a small lounger. A nice part of the room was a sink and fridge also. It was also very comfortable and quiet. One negative was there was lukewarm water when we took a shower in the late afternoon; however, the shower was nice & hot in the morning.

The room was ready upon check in, well sort of. They did need to come and clean Blood of the inside of the bathroom door and we had to have new bedding brought up and WE made the bed. Nice location and Breakfast was not bad.

Very good customer service, overpriced, only 1 very slow elevator, the housekeeping wasn't friendly. I enjoyed our time there but the room should be better for the price we paid. Everything was clean and the breakfast was not worth the money. Too small of a space to get comfortably without stumbling over everyone.

We had a great 3 night stay. We enjoyed the breakfast and the pool. I wish the WiFi speed could be better for the kids, but hey we were on vacation, so I will not let it affect any negative review left.

We LOVE this hotel. The staff is super welcoming. Rooms are very nice. Everything is great. This was our second trip to South Padre this summer and we made sure to book at this hotel. When we wanted to stay another night they try and give us the best deals. Will definitely come back.

I travel a lot for business and I will have to say this is one of the better Best Westerns. Room was nice, bed was comfortable and staff was very attentive. It is very clean and the breakfast was very good with a nice selection.

Very clean, staff very helpful, comfortable beds, plenty to eat for continental breakfast. Road construction made outside pretty noisy and dusty but should be done in couple of weeks. City is adding sidewalks and repaving roads and that will make 5min walk to beach very nice. Loved no pet policy.

The Hotel was clean and staff was most friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! The street in front of the hotel was under construction, but, still easily accessible. The breakfast had a nice selection and well presented. One little thing... they did not provide any bath soap (they did have face soap though). One major thing... the lock on the door stuck on lock. When you put the lock on the door, when you open the door, the lock should disengage and door should open. The lock on my door was stuck and had to be "turned" to open. A definitely hazard in case of an emergency. I did report to the management and they assured me they would get that fixed asap. The price was definitely a good value. Would definitely stay at this location again!

We really enjoyed our stay. There were 12 of us there, and you guys did a great job taking care of everyone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Close to the beach, and good rooms. Good breakfast. Overall a good experience

We originally had our 5 night reservation at this hotel. Upon arriving, the room appeared nice, but on the small side. There was a seat built into the window that the kids were enthused by. The bathroom was small and offered no counter space. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes, but be prepared to keep beach supplies in your car because of the cramped room space. On our second night after getting ready for dinner, while my kids were looking for a misplaced item is when we found a HUGE cockroach under the window cushion! Needless to say, we were disgusted! The hotel told us they would only refund us for 3 nights, and they had no extra rooms. Thankfully we used a second party to book our reservation, and they were able to get us out of that hotel and into another that same night. When it was all said and done, we didn't check into our new hotel until midnight. It was terrible how this hotel handled this situation.

After our first night of being their we asked for our room to be cleaned. They didn't do A very good job or even throw our r/r trash.i was upset cause they didn't even change our sheets or even clean our r/r.

Went there on the weekend before 4th of July with my 3-year-old daughter and my husband. I had read in the other reviews that the rooms are small and they REALLY are. In the bathroom, there are almost no countertops to put our stuff on. The breakfast is ok, but was crowded. My advice is: go downstairs as soon as the breakfast starts, make your plate, grab a drink and take everything upstairs. I've seen a lot of people do that and tried on my last day there and it was absolutely the best option. There is a small microwave in the room, which is great! I used it to warm up my daughter's food. My husband and I also brought frozen food because our kid sleeps very early, specially when she's been at the beach all day. So instead of going to a restaurant with her on a stroller, we'd rather have a quiet meal in the room. The walk to the beach is short and the beach is very nice. We loved it! We encourage people with kids to bring a wagon (thank you, reviewer who suggested that!). The closest entrance to the beach has a lot of stairs. However, there is another entrance a bit further that has a ramp, so we used that one because it was easier with the wagon. The hotel is modern and clean and staff was friendly. Although I wouldn't object to stay there again, I would probably search for other options when coming back to South Padre.

It was very nice very clean and the staff were caring! And they were very helpful. the location was also good. The room was very comfortable Just wish they had more of a selection for breakfast. We had a great experience that in the future we will be staying at a Best Western. Also, would suggest it to anyone going on vacation or needs a place to stay.

We took advantage of the July 4th to make a short trip to Texas. Tripadvisor suggested South Padre Island to be one of the best place to be. Though July was not the best time to be in Texas, we decided to give it a try. Best Western was the best value hotel available in the island. The trip to South Padre Island from Mainland was nice and Best Western was a mile north of the bridge. We reached quite late and the check-in was slow. Raul on the counter was busy getting his shift ready and we had to wait for like 5-10 minutes. It seemed like hours especially as we were dog tired. The rooms were nice, decent size and comfy. We went for 2 double beds and bed/AC were as per our expectation. Morning breakfast was good and refill was available. We checked out and got some advise on local sight seeing. The beach was right next to the building, though one has to drive around to enter the beach. Will recommend unless you would like to splurge on some of the resorts or more plush hotels.

Checkin was very successful right on point didnt have to wait for our room it was ready right on point. The young lady that was at the front desk was very nice n gave us information about our room n places that we might want to go visit or dine at. Our room was awsome and very cozy our bed was great , Housekeeping was at point And the breakfast was great everyday it was something different and good .Only think was the pool don't get me wrong it was very clean n nice, But there was people coming to the pool and they were not even staying there and getting in the pool they were not guest at the hotel ,they would take up all the space for the guest that were staying there,they couldn't sit down and enjoy the pool, see the sun going down as a matter fact we took awsome picture of the sun going down , Anyway they sound like they were family members of employees working there.Im just saying but all in all our stay was perfect n beautiful we enjoyed our Anniversary there and yes we surely we will be coming back next year agian and We will recommened our family and friends to your Hotel. Quite Clean and organized with most amenities. Four minutes Walking distance/Close to the beach. Also very close (3 minutes) to one of the best seafood restaurants on the Island. Friendly staff. I will stay there again even if I am with my picky wife. Not too far north of the Island. I got some bottled water because I am a member of the Best Western rewards program. Best Western has some kind of arrangement with Harley Davidson. I didn't however get any breaks on the price. Summer time is their high season on the island and prices simply high, but there are much higher priced hotels in the area. I have stayed in many Best Western hotels. They are much better than many discount motels and lodges. They offer a decent but free breakfast.

Great location by beach access #16. They had a very good breakfast that started @0700 and the most surprising thing, at least to me, was the great art on the walls! They had photos of the old Best Westerns that I thought was really cool. They also have a workout and laundry room if you're into that sorta thing. :)

Walking distance to the beach couldn't be beat. Daily breakfast included biscuits & gravy, carrying everyone till supper. The only disadvantage was the drive necessary to arrive there, since we're from New Mexico (1200 miles). The room was great and even gave us a marginal view of the island. Wonderful.

I booked this hotel due to arriving at my destination early. I didnt feel like going through the hassle of rebooking my reservation at the resort i orginally planned on staying at. Pros: Very clean, modern, close to the beach, and they offer free breakfast and 24hr coffee bar. Con: loud ppl during the night. I have no idea what they were doing at 3 in the morning but it was a little much. I picked up my phone to call the front desk about it and I didnt hear a dial tone. smh. I am a very light sleeper so I always take that into consideration, however NO ONE should be yelling and running up and down the halls that early.

We had a great experience during our recent stay. The hotel was very clean, the managers were helpful, and all the staff was very friendly. The room we had was very spacious and clean. I have recommended this hotel to my family and friends and will definitely stay here again in the future.

I stayed here and had to deal with loud kids t 6 in the morning, when i talked to the staff they stated that there was bothing that could be done. So i paid $500 to be woken up all weekend. I plan to try and get my money back. My families trip was ruined

we had a good experience, took my family of 5. front desk was really friendly and helpful. also the housekeeper did an amazing job. pool was clean and jacuzzi was working really well. everything was up dated.

My stay at Best Western was very nice. All the employee were nice and very helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. The only problem we had was the television did not show any movie channels. They need to upgrade their cable. I think the host name was Stephanie. She was wonderful. She need a raise. She went above and beyond. Very respectful.

We meet at SPI for a family vacation. There were about 19 of us total with four groups at Best Western. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, good breakfast buffet and very nice staff. Time enjoyed by all!

We have been staying at this location every time we are in South Padre Island. The staff along with the ladies that clean the rooms are so polite and always very friendly. The front staff are awesome especially Karina she is always very polite, and very helpful. We will definite be return.

This Best Western had it all: friendly and helpful employees, good free breakfast, great housekeeping, clean and quiet rooms. We came down for my son to learn how to surf, while this hotel is not

Customer service at this hotel was amazing! Everyone had a smiling face towards my family and I. The room was super clean! The hotel itself smells amazingly clean and fresh! Breakfast was great as well.

We took a belated honeymoon and the BW Beachside worked quite well for us. When we told them we were on our honeymoon, they upgraded our room free of charge. It was clean and quiet and the staff accommodated us with extra towels and housekeeping always respected the do not disturb sign if we slept in. Pool and hot tub were quiet as the whole property in general. Not right on the beach but it was only a block away. Breakfast was pretty boring after the first day. We preferred to eat fresh fruit and granola bars purchased from the grocery store. It was a great bargain for the week, so no complaints. Blackbeard's restaurant is a 2 minute walk away and was fantastic. We ate and drank there 3 times!

At the very least I expect toiletries to be provided without asking and I assume that if the bath tub is being cleaned regularly, maids would report to maintenence that they don't drain properly. Disappointed!!

Great room, great staff, great hot breakfast! One concern, on Saturday 5/5/18 a family staying at the hotel had friends and family over to have a pool party and grill out in the parking lot. There was no room for any other guests to use pool or hot tub.

The room were looked cleaned and the bed were great , breakfast was good..the only thing was a smell in the halls and rooms to like wet towel .. I don't know we're it came from . Everything was ok except for that

We were impressed from the minute we checked in. The staff was very helpful getting su a room that was convenient. The room was very nicely arranged and enjoyable. It was very clean and well stocked. The breakfast was very good and had eggs, link sausage, fresh pancakes as well as the normal continental breakfast offerings. We really liked this hotel and its convenience to the beach. It has become our go to hotel on the Island.

Located a little back from the beach this hotel has a pool, gym, self service laundry and large rooms. Beds are good sized and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's a short walk to the beach and to shops and restaurants.

The Rooms were very nice, the service was excellent, and the location is perfect. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Price was Awesome! I would definitly stay at this hotel again.

Short review, but extremely clean hotel, 3 minute walk from the beach, Karina is an incredible employee and so accommodating. The night auditor on Saturday I'm pretty certain was watching something... inappropriate in the office, and was so rude when asked for a simple amenity, after a thank you. Other than that one blemish, this stay was wonderful, and I'll be coming back!

Hotel is in good condition and rooms are well appointed. Only stayed one night and did not use pool/fitness, etc. I have stayed here before and I would stay again. The hotel has reasonable rates during off-season.

My husband and I were staying at the hotel on SPI to attend a wedding. The room was very nice, the staff was helpful and courteous. However, the breakfast could have been better. The eggs were spongy and tasted like cardboard. The oatmeal station consisted of small containers with Sugar, raisins, and packets of instant oatmeal but no microwave. I took milk from the carafe for cereal and took the elevator up to my room to make the oatmeal. The pancake machine was deceiving. You press a button to deliver pancakes and the picture shows two full size pancakes covering the entirety of the plate. But what resulted was 2 quarter sized pancakes that could have fit in the palm of my hand. They were cute and tasted fine but not what I was expecting.

We stay a week and had no issues at all. It was with in walking distance of a lot of things but there is free transportation on the island so you don't really have to drive anywhere. The walk to the beach was very short. The room was very clean. The breakfast was good. My favorite part of this hotel is that they have an old ice bucket attached to the ice machine so that you can fill up your cooler with ease. I have never seen that before and it is the Best!! The pool was clean and had about 6 lounge chairs which all week was plenty. The staff was great as well. If we ever go back to SPI, we will definitely be staying here! The price was amazing too!!

The carpet smells like old shoes so they try to cover that smell with some pine product. Room was very clean. In the shower I had the conditioner and the body wash both empty so I let the lady from the front desk know about this. Next day I headed for the beach and when I came back my room has not been cleaned up and of course they didn't refill the bottles. I let her know about this at check out but she only said Oh! I'm sorry ‘bout that. Breakfast is included so it's a food deal. I hope they change carpets soon.

Clean hotel. Beds good. Shower had decent pressure. Karina must be the best front desk employee we have ever met! So friendly, fun and helpful. Weather was crap so we cancelled our 3rd night. General manager was helpful with our cancellation as well. Breakfast was so so but probably what the BW chain offers. BW could upgrade breakfast to compete with Hilton and others

Price was right for week day. Did not bring makeup wipes because I assumed there would be some available as most BW provided them. Told by front desk persons I could go to dollar store near by. Did find a small roach that was in shower.

Room was clean, staff was friendly, experience was pleasurable. This location is close to the beach so access was very quick. We could literally walk to the beach in a few minutes. Close to plenty of places to eat and engage in other activities.

Everything was perfect! Very accommodating! Arrived spring break @ 2 am with a mix up on VRBO condo rental and just needed sleep!! They were extremely helpful and Breakfast was a great bonus!! They actually voluntarily gave us a better rate because we wanted 2 rooms because we had 2 teenage boys that prefered to have separate rooms!! Place was clean...happy we ended up there!!

This hotel was a great place to stay, especially for the low price! The staff was always helpful and genuinely seemed to love helping us with whatever we needed. The rooms were very clean. The beds were comfortable. The only negative thing about the room was that there was very little countertop space in the bathroom. The hotel was a very short walk to the beach. I actually kind of enjoyed how this hotel was further away from some of the busier parts of the island because it seemed to be quiet and more peaceful. The outdoor pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable. Breakfast was decent and included a couple types of cereal, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, packaged oatmeal, rotated hot stuff depending on the day (eggs, omelets, bacon, and sausage), pastries, yogurt, toast, and fruit. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay on South Padre. Even though it is not directly on the beach, it is only a short walk away. And it is definitely worth the little extra walk for the service and quality you receive.

This is a nice place to stay while on the island. It's close to the beach and the staff is very friendly. It has hot and cold breakfast as well as snacks you can purchase. They have a pool and a hot tub you can enjoy.

Couldn't have been better. Everyone was available to answer questions and help if needed. Close to most attractions and day trips are doable. Walking distance from a lot of things if you are mobile. I was an enjoyable time. Maybe again in the future.

Our room was clean and spacious, bed was super comfy, and loved the big walk-in shower. Hot breakfast was exceptionally good. Pancakes are great! Desk attendants were friendly and so helpful. Overall great place to stay. Liked the central location on the island. Hope to be back again.

While the hotel was beautiful and the staff was great (Loved Karina!!!) the room had humidity issues big time and breakfast was strange. The girl who was to fill up the food seemed to wait until nothing was left even though there was hours yet for the breakfast time. Several times I needed to ask her to fill things.

Very comfortable room. We stayed in a King room which had plenty of space to spread out in. Included a small refrigerator, sofa and cafe table. The room was recently updated and was extremely clean. Location is within easy walking distance to beach access. My only criticisms are... they could provide better towels as they were very small and almost thread bare, and... they use a mattress protector on the bed that has a topping of plastic which you hear evertime you role over plus it doesn't circulate well. The mattress was comfortable however.

This is a nice place. My husband was pleasantly surprised. Newly renovated, clean, comfy beds. Breakfast is good for a free breakfast. Good coffee, juice, clean. There is a lot of seating, but some people do tend to linger and chat with their friends. I never had trouble finding a place to sit down. My only complaint is the bathroom. It is very small, no vanity for any toiletries of curling irons, etc. I get it that they did the best they could with the space. It all looks good. I would recommend taking down the art work over the desk, and placing a mirror. This would have solved my problem. We stayed there four nights, and were pleased with the value of this hotel.

This was a very clean and conveniently located Best Western Hotel. the staff was great, the breakfast was great as well. there were lots of resturaunts and bars with in walking distance or a short drive from the hotel. This was a great place to stay, I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Staff was friendly, close to a lot of things. Staff wanted to be there and help make our stay comfortable. Room was nice, clean etc. close to everything and easy to get around. Breakfast was fine, held us up thru the morning.

This hotel, renovated 4 years ago is in very good shape. We were treated very well at the front desk by very friendly, helpful people. There were no glitches and the third floor was recommended as quiet and it was as promised. The breakfast area and staff was excellent as were the cleaning staff.. a well run hotel with comfortable rooms, close to resteraunts and shopping.

We spent a month at this hotel mid-January thru mid-February! Staff very friendly & helpful! Located 1 block from beach! Very modern,clean and breakfast is included! We have already booked to stay for a month next year! We took our bikes with us and hotel stored them for us! Has outdoor pool & hot tub. Pool is not heated!

Not a lot to do if weather is cold and wet. Not hotels fault. Bathroom shower was wonderful. Although fan and light should be on separate switches. Didn't find staff friendly although they answered our questions. We were there for a week and maids kept forgetting to restock important things like coffee and cups. Always running to front desk. Beds weren't always remade very well either. Breakfast did get boring after a week. Lots of seniors around area. Good location with many restaurants around.

We was only here for 1 night stay. during oct of 2017. We had a great time and the staff was very helpful adn friendly. they reccomended many places to eat at. our room was very clean and the breakfast was better htan most hotel breakfast.

Nice place. Clean, updated rooms. Good breakfast. Only complaint - bathroom fan doesn't have a separate switch. When you turn on the light, very loud fan accompanies . . . Very annoying for the other person that was sleeping until companion gets up to go the the bathroom . . .

We stayed in this very nice hotel for 6 nights when visiting South Padre Island for Christmas. We originally booked for 4 nights but stayed for 6 at the end. The hotel was excellent located, close to the beach and had all we needed for our stay. The room was very accommodating and was comfortable for our stay. Sitting place by window was very good. Breakfast had tasty variety. All in all we had very nice stay.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and overall found it very satisfactory. The front desk staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Room cleaning was a little spotty on mirrors and chrome and used paper cups were not disposed of. Walls were thin. Heat and A/C were very good. Bathroom fan noise was annoying. Continental breakfast was average, but the coffee was excellent!

I stayed here for one night to attend a nearby function. This hotel was pretty great! The staff were very friendly at check in. My room was nicely decorated, smelled good, and appeared very clean. The bathroom was clean as well. My only complaint with the room is the very small counter space in the restroom....there was really no room to spread out and place toiletries. The breakfast was adequate; they had hot items available. Every item of food, from the gravy to the biscuits, to the sausage, and even to the orange juice...was very tasty (and I don't say that a lot about hotel breakfast food!) The beach is a little bit of a walk from the hotel, but it's definitely not far. Just walk away from the hotel and you will find a public access nearby. I have seen some reviews comment on the doors, and how tough they are sometimes to open....I believe the tension on these doors keeps the noise down when they shut. I didn't hear any slamming doors during my stay like I usually do! I'll be back to stay again!

We stayed at the Best Western for 3 nights in early February 2018, and enjoyed the hotel greatly! Plan to return next year. Great location (can walk lots of places from the hotel) clean rooms as it was remodeled & is very modern. We didn't get enjoy the pool as the weather was cooler but it appeared to be very nice. One extra that I wasn't expecting is there is washers & dryers on the 2nd floor if you need to use them. Breakfast was average... nothing special. Beds are comfortable & shower is very spacious. Can't go wrong staying here!

So you are wondering if the wonderful reviews match the affordable prices in the winter and the high prices during Spring Break and yes they do. Notice the high ratings even when their is something negative written? Why? Because the place is what it is: tastefully remodeled, hot breakfast included with the rate, exceedingly clean rooms, friendly long term senior citizen residents and temporary guests, a hot tub that's hot, an up to date gym, a clean guest laundry, and easy free parking. The hotel parking area is small - but first come first serve so the family can park together. I am unsure how that works during Spring Break and summer. The free island shuttle stops on either side of the Main Street next to the hotel. If it's hot - bring a hat, umbrella for extra shade and sunscreen. The hotel has no medicines for headaches so go across the street to the store for most things you may need. The WiFi works. Sometimes only one computer works so bring your own. The lobby is small and crowded when the hotel is full so don't plan to get business accomplished in the lobby while the family sleeps. Staff - The staff try to please. The owners are usually on-site and address issues right away. The walk to the beach is 2 long city blocks so plan to bring a wagon if you have kids. Look at the weather forecast and plan your activities accordingly. Also check the island website for links to the beach flag warning system. I prefer the privacy of a condo but this hotel was considerably cleaner and more comfortable than the condo with a horrible bed that I had rented through Airbnb. The rooms looked just like the photos - small but neat. I liked the meticulously clean room and bed with pillows that allowed great back support. The reviews helped me chose this lovely hotel. The negative comments are true and prepared me for my stay. Be sure to read them. I would stay there again and highly recommend it to others. I wish all remodels were this well done. I have stayed in height star hotels and received far less and found dirtier rooms. This hotel is a great value. The photos are exactly how the room looked when I arrived. I hope you found this review helpful. It's hard to know what people want to know but I try to put myself in the reader's shoes. Pictures can be deceiving but it really was that nice and if you go during the “off” season the rates are amazing.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The rooms were so clean and nice. The service was fantastic. The breakfast each morning was very good too. We are planning on coming back next year. Additionally we met so many nice people at breakfast each morning.

Our room was large with sink, microwave, mini-fridge, and small table. We stayed four days quite comfortably. Staff is outstanding. Major weakness is the rather basic breakfast. A little extra variety would be quite nice for those on extended stay. Talked with several residents who were staying two weeks to one month.

We spent 3 nights at the Best Western Beachside Inn. This recently renovated hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Amenities include a pool, hot tub and fitness center. Free Wifi is available throughout the facility. The included full breakfast included hot entrees which varied from day to day. Rates were outstanding.

From check in with Luis to adding a night with Karina and checking out with Karina, our experience was absolutely first class. The room was clean and in good order. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great,,,,lots of choices. We have stayed here before and will definitely stay again.

Stayed 2 nights at the start of January. The rooms were very nice and clean. Beds were comfortable and the morning breakfast hit the spot. The people that worked there were friendly and accommodating. The only thing I could suggest is changing the room decor. I personally didn't care for it but I suppose it's appropriate for a beachside inn. I would recommend staying here again, I've stayed in several properties on SPI and this is the best. Note it's a very short walk to the beach - it is NOT directly connected to the beach as the name may suggest.

The rooms are clean and service at this hotel are good. Friendly front desk. The spring loads on the front room door is so hard it makes it tough to get into it without a body slam. Anyone with a slight or better handicap will probably have a problem getting into the room. The bathroom doors are also spring loaded and you can't keep them open if you so desire. At night it is pitch black in there. Breakfast is so-so. Frozen Eggo's with a toaster that doesn't work very well and cold eggs is not my idea of a good breakfast. To bad, minor fixes could make this place lots better.

the hotel rate are 15 and recommend to others to go there and you will love them I am telling you truth no kidding the staff were friendly and pleasant. the hotel look like brand new and the prices were reasonable at winter season and not sure about summer season prices and I will go back there next time maybe summer time keep up good work

Traveling is expensive so whenever I can find a room for under a $100 a night including breakfast it's a deal. I've stayed in Best Westerns across America and the Beachside Inn is equally fantastic. Great beds, hot water, great breakfast, safe location, clean and I think reasonably new.

Outstanding! Very clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay at this hotel again during all our future visits to SPI and the Rio Grand Valley. I highly recommend this hotel and will encourage all our family and friends to do the same.

This was the third place we moved to on a family trip to South Padre Island. The Air B&B and the previous hotel both were pest infested. Not here. Cleanliness comes at the price of the hotel and rooms being almost sterile, which is fine with us.

Great Hotel with super friendly staff. We were there 2 nights/ 3 days and loved it! Everything was exactly as the hotel pictures looked. It is half a block away from the beach, well within walking distance. They have a continental breakfast w/ egg and sausage and have pancakes instead of the normal waffles. Will definitely be coming back !!

Not happy about hearing every little thing in the hallways and outside. Nice location and very nice hotel to bad the wall are paper thin. Also the rooms only have a thin shad in the windows and not a drape to block out the sun in the morning.

This was a good place to stay. It was quiet, and close to the beaches, stores, and post office. The staff at breakfast was excellent about making sure everything was stocked. Because I'm on an extended trip, the guest laundry was handy. The fitness room was bigger than most of the other motels I've been staying at. It was a little harder to spot than some because the sign by the road is fairly small and you need to go on one of the side streets.

Good location on the island. Room was nice, but a little small. Comfy beds, nice bathroom. The complimentary bath soaps that are provided smell really nice. Front desk staff seem very apathetic. I would stay again.

We usually stay at a Best Western if we go somewhere for a few days. This one is more modern than others we have been too. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathroom seemed a bit more spacious, although I would like some more space to put our stuff down instead of the limited space around the sink. We stayed in a double queen room with two adults and two small children and that was comfortable. Breakfast is standard to Best Western, but it's all you need. If you prefer something fancier, then you can always go out. Staff was friendly and responsive! We would go back here.

Rooms are recently updated with beautiful stylings with spa like bathrooms, mattresses need replacing, breakfast was horrid plus cleaning people started using toxic smelling product to clean tables during breakfast, near beach but not what I consider walking distance, good over all value for price.

Bed and pillows were extremely comfy. Bathrooms are huge and extremely clean. The room was a good size and had multiple amenities on hand. Area was ideal for beach access and there is multiple restaurants and bars in walking distance.

Very cute and clean hotel It is not right on the beach, but you can walk about 4 blocks to the public access. Everything was very clean, although a little small. The decor was very up to date. We enjoyed the breakfast. It had a variety of good options.

Hotel staff: Very friendly and helpful Hotel: rooms were very small. If you have a family of four in two queen beds, you will be squished. Breakfast: very standard. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit juice, fruit, a few pastries, yogurt. Location: within walking distance to the beach. You can see the water from the hotel but the beach is a block away. Neighborhood seemed pretty quiet. There are a lot of eateries nearby.

I was surprised that the hotel wasn't a Best Western Plus. Maybe the room numbers differentiate the BW naming levels. The property seemed New, however I believe it had gone through extensive renovations. Our room was tastefully appointed. The furniture and furnishings were well done. Several areas to plug in phones, iPads etc... Breakfast good and as expected for a BW property. The Hotel is roughly a block away from the beach. There are several restaurants in the area as well across the bridge to Port Isabella. Certainly met our expectations. Would recommend to anyone going to South Padre.

Very clean room. Well maintained property. Access to beach was easy. Close to shops, very handy. Good for short stays in the low season. Not sure sure about the peak season. Front desk was unfriendly at times, i have seen more professional staff.

This is centrally located in south padre and the rooms have recently been remodeled. Price is great, breakfast included. Close to beach. Pool has just been painted today! Looking forward to swimming in it tomorrow!!! Gym and Laundry facilities on site.

We booked to stay here for 3 nights. Hotel was way beyond our expectations. Very clean and rooms a good size with sink and fridge in the room. Bathroom good size too with impressive shower. Breakfast had good choice of food too.

Definitely not your average Best Western. New and well decorated property. Very clean! One of the nicer Best Western properties I've visited in a long time, especially not being a Plus or Premier location.

We were concerned because this hotel was not on the beach! When we arrived we took a walk and found the beach a very short walk. This hotel is one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in. The ladies cleaning our room were so hard working and did an amazing job. The hotel was very quiet and the breakfast was good and nice to not have to leave the hotel to eat in the morning. We will be back and highly recommend the Best Western Beachside Inn.

Had a great time. Weather cooperated & rained mostly @ night. Enjoyed the BW & will always stay there when we come to visit again. Went on dinner cruise w/perfect pm temps. The beaches had red flags, extreme wave action but pretty to see.

I stayed here because of the rate and my experience with Best Western in the past. I crossed my fingers and I was so happy. The hotel looks recently updated. Everything was clean and everyone was nice. The beach was a block away. Plenty of food and souvenir stores near by. The internet connection was good and I was able to watch Netflix with no interruptions. Breakfast was ok, but great for free.

Rooms were really clean and modern. Not very spacious but comfortable overall. Beds were super comfy. Breakfast was good with lots to choose from and staff was friendly. Close to beach and all attractions.

The Best Western hotel on South Padre island was good for the price. Room was nice, clean and in close proximity to beach and restaurants. Breakfast was ok. Not a lot of amenities. I would stay there again.

My entire experience was wonderful from check-in to room cleanliness & decor, house-keepers, nice breakfast, knowledgeable reception staff about activities and restaurants in the area, pool and the gym. I had no issue whatsoever and would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

The room was nice. We really like a super cold night sleeping temperature and the AC didn't quite get there for us, but it was ok. The breakfast was good. It does have hot food choices such as bacon or sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy in addition to the normal cold options. I really love some good eggs, but these were out of a box I think, so the eggs were a big no go for me. We were also on the 3rd floor and I wish there was an ice machine on our level, instead we had to go to the 2nd floor for ice. Mark at the front desk was our go to guide for local flavor and activities which was great since we had never been to SPI. Overall, we would stay here again, but I would definitely ask for a 1st or 2nd floor room to be closer to the ice machine.

Obviously this property has been recently remodeled so everything is nice and fresh. Smallish rooms but clean and everything in working order and after all how much room does a person need to sleep. Free breakfast makes this a great value. An easy two block walk to the beach.

The moment you walk in it smells great. And everything I s so clean from the lobby to the guest rooms. It's about a block away from the beach so you could easily walk there and there's a dollar general next door. Staff is super fliendly and the have actual shampoo bottles which is great

I spent a week at this BW toward the end of September. My accommodations were excellent. Room was very clean and well freshened up each day. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The Hotel is about 2 blocks from the Gulf. I came for some rest and relaxation. This was a good place for it. I found the place quiet and peaceful. Just the space and place I needed at the time!

It is a nice hotel. Very reasonable price. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shops, Only miscommunication was why did the cleaning staff not clean and service my room on second day. Hot breakfast was good. Scrambled eggs, alternate days sausage , bacon, pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, juice.

Rooms are small compared to other best westerns. And although the girl making the pancakes in the morning had a stank face, she kept everything stocked until breakfast was over. The hot tub was perfect too.

The Best Western Beachside Inn was easy to get to. The beach was two blocks away and the quaint restaurants were in walking distance. The hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful when asking about places to see.

This hotel is in a great spot. Just a block or so from the open water and great food in all directions within walking distance. The room was perfect, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will be staying here again next week.

Where to start ok I originally made my reservation for two nights using my rewards points. When I check in the front desk agent couldn't fine my reservation. Ok fine they made another one. Next day they call my room saying I needed to check out at 11 cause my stay was for one night. I was not satisfied at all.

The front desk attendant came back from a break reeking of weed to check us in. The cleaning crew brought their kids in the morning, who were running up and down the halls at 7 am, waking me up. stay here if you do not want good service and do not want to get any rest.

okay room, not a good variety of channels to watch, roaches started to appear in the bathroom, furniture dingy. Towels had human hair on them after coming back so called washed and cleaned, carpet should be vacuumed during clean up process daily

We really like this place. We came for a couple quick trips, and it's just right for the price. Comfy room, clean and breakfast is good. There's beach access within walking distance or a 2 minute drive. We're a young family so this worked out perfect.

This property is over 20 years old but has recently had a facelift from top to bottom. It looks like a new property rather than an older one. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfy.

Excellent, friendly staff they worked with to ensure our rooms were all together which made it nice since we were vacationing as a family. The roomswere clean and comfortable and the hotel had easy access to all of the things we wanted to do.

Very short walk to beach. Easy access. Beach area is beautiful. Only down side was we flew in so we had no beach chairs and I forgot to pack beach towels. But there are plenary of stores around to buy towels. We would stay there again. Nice room and facility.

We we're on our honeymoon and the staff was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. If we come back to spi we plan to try and stay there again. The rooms were great. Just the staff alone makes me want to stay there again.

Great hotel,local feel with an corporate appeal. Nice rooms and great location. Walking distance from the beach and quiet stay even with children on the premises. Dollar General located across parking lot,made it convenient for picking last minute needs.
