    « Nice surprise »

I called best western sonora and had my first conversation with jessica. She got me set up for a room that evening at a great rate. We arrived in sonora and checked into our hotel. Jessica was there again to greet us. Jessica is a blessing to this establishment. We got to our room and were very pleased. It is a well decorated and very clean room. A few minutes later the phone rang and it was Jessica asking if we got settled ok and if there was anything we needed. This has never happened to us before and we travel frequently. This was the best decision we could have made. Would absolutely stay here again.

    « Check in nightmare »

The front desk clerk when I checked in (Sylvia I believe) did not seem to know how to operate the computer. The check in process took forever, and I was the only one checking in at the time. (12-14 minutes). So after that frustration, turns out we were given the wrong room. (we were supposed to have 2 beds not a king). So that gets straightened out, we're in the right room 25 minutes after walking in the lobby. When I could not find the info for signing into the internet, I called the front desk for help. Rather than just give me the info I asked for, she said she gave it to me. So I asked her to hang on while I looked for the paper. When I returned to the phone, she had hung up. Wow, I waited for her 25 minutes to get my room, and she did not have the courtesy to wait two minutes on the line while we tried to resolve my issue. And let me point out again, there was no one else there for her to serve. And the room did not live up to the other BW's we stayed in the previous week. Very disappointing. The cook they brought in for the morning breakfast was Excellent. And the front desk gal that checked me out was good. These were the only positives of the stay.

    « Forget this place »

I stay in 100+ rooms a year. The rooms are old but sufficient for a $39.99 room. The front desk people were the worst I have ever had to deal with. Extremely rude and just flat out liars. I get better service from Motel 6. The company that rented our rooms set 11-13 rooms at a time and usually for a week or more. They will now be using the Comfort or Days Inn.

    « Pleasant Surprise »

Sonora is a small town, so I didn't expect much. However the hotel looks recently updated and the bed was very comfortable. The internet was good and the TV channel selection was good. The Breakfast was great. They had the usual fare but they also had a lady cook in the corner that custom makes omlettes, breakfast burritos and pancakes with multiple toppings. Made fresh and brought to your table. All included with your stay.

    « little problems »

room and bed clean very comfortable quiet but had problems in bathroom. Sometimes poor water pressure in shower and light over mirror would come on or not. toilet had slow leak that created a calcium deposit in bowl and seal at floor needed re-caulking. may have been less a staff problem than poor construction to begin with. maybe we just got a lemon bathroom. Did not report it bc only stayed one night and all else was good.

    5
    « Safe, clean, friendly. »

Arrival very late, and was allowed to view room before purchase as, I thought the price was high. Turns out staff alone worth price. Business area printer worked great easy hookup to my computer. Did what I needed and next morning while my husband had a handmade omelet of his choice, the front desk, immediately offered to fax my work for me when I said I was looking for a office max or kinkos. GOOD place to stop at on 1 -10.

    3
    « Sufficient »

While it was definitely subpar to most best westerns I have stayed at, it was clean, the AC worked, it was quiet and had basic amenities. The shower had barely a sprinkle of water pressure. Breakfast had barely the minimum items you would expect, although they made up for that with a "custom omelette bar."

    « Trip to Arizona »

The Hotel was easy to find, The staff was friendly, we stayed in a King room, was a bit old looking, Had to go to the office to get a TV channel guide, which the deck clerk had to make a copy of. Had to use the internet to find local places to eat.

« my stay at sonora tx »

my overall stay was excellent. the staff was very professional & helpful. the room was clean & the bed was comfortable & i slept very well. it was located in easy excess to the interstate, restaurants where in walking distance, thats a plus for truck drivers.there is plenty of parking for big trucks.

    4
« Comfortable hotel in rural area »

I chose to stay in this hotel while visiting towns in adjoining counties because I was confident it would be comfortable, safe and reliable. The hot breakfast is a great addition to a good night's sleep.

    « rjd »

The breakfast was supposed to begin at 6AM. When I gave up at 6:20, I still had not gotten anything beyond cereal, toast, and orange juice. I have completed my review, and the thing is still too short. Change your limits.

    5
    « great stay »

awesome staff was very helpful during our stay. We arrived a little early and were allowed to leave our belongings in one of the 2 rooms we had reserved. The made to order omelets were a great way to start the day after a late night of visiting with family.

    5
    « Stop Over Night »

We stopped here on the way to Austin from El Paso. It was a very clean hotel and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was great and you get eggs prepared the way you like them, Plus many other choices of breakfast items.

« Great for a Restful Stop on Road Trips »

Best accommodations we've found for traveling with pets. Hardwood floor in the clean, updated room. Friendly, helpful staff, and a great breakfast set up (a chef who makes omelettes & pancakes to order--yum!). Definitely recommend the Sonora Best Western for family road trips!

    5
« Truly a great hotel, loved everything about it. »

This is really a wonderful hotel. The staff was super pleasant, the room was big and clean. Beds were comfy, all the ammenties and extra towels and handcloths. Didn't use the pool, but that's only because I forgot my swimsuit. Breakfast was so good, they have a chef on location to make your breakfast, no more cardboard waffles or powdered eggs here.

    5
    « Great Staff , unbelieve Srevice »

Great place to stay , fantastic Breakfast made to order , Best Staff around , highly recommend staying here !!!! 5 Star Service ???? I've stayed here many time through the past 5 years , Best Place to Stay in Sonora !!

    5
    « Relaxing stay! »

Breakfast is great and rooms are large with comfortable beds! We stay at this hotel anytime we are traveling through this are and in the past 4 years of staying there have not been disappointed. Pool was clean and refreshing!

    5
« So Glad to be Here »

We were so glad to be here. The folks at this motel know how to treat their guests. They had first class amenities and the room was as neat as a pin. This was certainly an unusual breakfast experience, good enough to try for yourself.

    3
« Stay at Sonora Inn »

Staff was polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. Rooms were nice, but the air conditioner was quite loud. They accomodated our request for adjoing rooms and were clean and comfortable. The location was right off the freeway and easy to locate. We checked in on a Sunday and there were only fast food and Pizza Hut open. The food at the Pizza Hut was okay, but the interior was inferior.

    4
« Careful with the Breakfast cook! »

Exceptionally clean rooms. Plenty of towels. Has a very clean fitness room. Card key did not work; had to be replaced. Pool was very very clean. Breakfast cook has no people skills, but her food is tasty!

    « Best in Town! »

This is a great little motel. If your tired of driving along I-10, or visiting Sonora Caverns, this is the place to stay. Easy access to the freeway. Free Wifi. Free Hot breakfast including a chef that comes in to make custom omlets, again, for Free! The staff was very friendly & helpful. The room was very nice. Again, if you're going to stay in Sonora, this is the hotel to stay in.

    5
« Breakfast Made to Order! »

Wow! We loved getting to choose our hot breakfast. Omelettes, breakfast tacos, pancakes and more- made to order by the nicest girl right there in the lobby. The pool is a great size and the water was cool on a 100 degree day- loved it!

    3
« Overall good stay but room was not clean »

When we checked in, the bathroom sink and counter top were dirty and so were the night stands and dresser. We called the front desk and were told that housekeeping had gone home and that there was nothing they could do. My wife asked for some cleaning wipes and was told that we could not have any because we might have a reaction to them. No refund or discount was given.

    5
    « a lovely oasis on I-10 »

I stopped here on a very long cross-country drive. It was perfect: super clean, very well-appointed rooms, excellent bed and bedding, great hotel staff, excellent breakfast omelette, exercise room, nice bathtub, even and outdoor picnic area with grill. The highlight of my stay was the excellent outdoor swimming pool, which was crystal clear and perfect in the evening and morning. I got a good deal, too, esp. for Fourth of July weekend.

    2
    « Best Western isn't best »

Terrible internet, they put us in a handicapped room without telling us, the towels weren't clean, and the breakfast was abysmal. I've stayed in worse, but for the price, it's just not worth it. It would be easier to make it a more hospitable place.

    3
    « Needs Updating »

Room was OK, television was not working. Staff was helpful trying to fix the problem. I did notice a stain on my sheet which was a little disturbing. The cook to order breakfast is very good. Staff is friendly and helpful.

    5
« The Height in Hospitality »

Hospitality has been defined as "the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests." I felt welcomed from the minute I entered the lobby. I was immediately told about an extra value added addition to the free breakfast that I've never seen anywhere else. There would be a cook who would make your eggs to order and furthermore you could place your order online and it would be hot and awaiting me at the time I requested. I had a perfectly prepared breakfast burrito in addition to juice coffee and fresh fruit. In addition I was pleased that our room was far enough from the road to avoid freeway noise and there was a strategically placed grab bar next to the tub so I could safely exit and enter to take a shower. We were able to get on the road without the hassle of turning in keys since I was given the option of having my statement printed out at registration and told to leave the keys in the room. This was the best motel experience of our entire cross-country trip.

    3
    « Great night stay »

I visited Sonora for a nephew's high school graduation. They put us in a suite and we were very pleased. The room was HUGE and had 2 pull out sofas and 2 TV's. My kids LOVED the sofas. The bed was super comfortable. The WiFi could have been better but we were able to hook up our chrome cast and Watch Game of Thrones without any lagging. The staff was incredible especially Mary and the managers on duty. Any time we needed extra towels or anything they were at our room in minutes. The lobby was incredibly clean. The breakfast was great, coffee was amazing. They made cook to order meals and then had the basics on hand like oatmeal, cereal, toast etc. We would definitely stay here again if we come back through Sonora.

    4
    « Clean room »

I gave this hotel a very good for the budget minded travelers. My room was very clean which always helps me to relax. Afternoon staff was friendly. They offer free breakfast and although I left before serving time the breakfast area was spacious. I remember reading a travelers comment to fill up before leaving because the next gas station was 150 miles away. If you are traveling on the I-10 no worries. She may have taken another route.

    3
    « Bare basics »

Definitely bare minimum when it comes to hotels. The area was sketchy, the people hanging around outside were sketchy too. The girl at the front desk was unprofessional. Room was clean, we did get a room right in front of some stairs so we can hear people going up and down, definitely kept my dog up all night and made her hella anxious. Making it a little bit of a rough nice for us all. On the other hand breakfast was good, they apparently have someone come in the mornings to cook, so you place an order and have a seat, drink some coffee and she'll bring it out to you. Not a terrible stay, but definitely not the best. Use caution.

« Great place to stop in the middle of nowhere »

We stopped here becuase we had bee driving way too long for one day. It is right on I-10 and was very convenient. The room was nice and the bed so very comfortable, a very unexpected yet pleasurable occurrance. Along with your room they provided a free breakfast and amazing a lady was there to cook eggs, omelettes and pancakes along with the regular continental breakfast goodies. Very nice place and good hot breakfast ordered when you come it. Great stay!

    4
« Great Breakfast, Okay Room »

The breakfast is great. They have someone there who can make you eggs, burritos, omelets, etc. My biggest complaint was that the sheets in the bed were dirty, there was a giant (what appeared to be) pee stain. The staff was very friendly and everything else was good.

    5
    « "Rest in Peace!" »

Clean hotel throughout. GREAT made to order breakfast (egg omlet, burrito, pancakes, etc.). Clean rooms. Good location right off I-10. So nice to arrive at a hotel where one is greeted right away and the lobby is clean and smells fresh! Very attentive staff and overall a good value.

    3
« It is what it is--a small town Best Western »

When you have to stop at a small town hotel, the chains are usually the best bets. Sometimes there is a good B&B hidden away, but you had best have good reviews from trusted resources. We were forced to stop because of bad weather. The "pick a chain rule" worked fir us! This is a very average hotel. The rooms were nothing special--clean, nor nothing bad--a little noisy, but OK. The breakfast was the same. There are few good places to eat and stay on this stretch of I 10. This one is OK, for a night.

    5
« Nice one night stay »

Places near by to walk our dog. Staff friendly and helpful. Mexican restaurant next door was recommended by the check in person and it was very good. Breakfast better than most with eggs made to order. Clean and quiet.

    3
« Nice rooms, rude evening front desk clerk »

We are platinum Best Western travelers. Big deal but we have used BW partly because of earning the little perks. Well not here!! Front desk clerk was not only unfriendly but when I looked at the empty parking lot I said "do you have an upgrade available" she said No we don't do that here! I asked for "gift" , water whatever. She said "we don't do that either" then I was told they know nothing about the Rewards Program. Guess I won't stay here again.

    2
    « very nervous night »

Upon arrival we found the room to not have a remote for the TV, then the phone in the room was not working so we could call the front desk to advise them, we had to use our personal cell phone for that. Then after that was handled we found that we could not lock the dead bolt and called again and it still would not work so we placed a chair in front of the door. It was a very nervous night sleep for us with no phone and dead bolt working.

« Why Sonora Best Western? »

In the past 4 years, I have been a returning guest who chooses to stay at the Best Western located in Sonora, TX because it is a quiet and restful place, after traveling too many miles on I-10, the team that works there is friendly, welcoming and have pleasant attitudes. We appreciate the home cooked and handmade breakfast burritos and pancakes.

    3
« Clean Pet Friendly Motel »

Looks like an old motel which has been nicely renovated. Stayed here just one night while visiting Sonora Caverns. The room was a good size with laminate wood floors instead of carpet, much nicer and feels cleaner. The in room fridge had a separate small freezer which really worked well. The check in person was very friendly and knowledgeable about the caves, opening times, what time it gets busy etc. The motel is situated close to Hwy 277 and is about 8 miles from the caves. Only $10 pet fee.

    3
    « Breakfast in Sonora »

The Sonora Best Western is a perfectly adequate older hotel. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced considering the rather remote location. For travelers heading West be advised that there are NO service stations on I-10 between Sonora and Fort Stockton, a distance of almost 150 miles.Top off in Sonora! Perhaps the most memorable thing about the Sonora Best Western was their breakfast. Most of the now standard hot breakfasts served by all the major chains are pretty much the same, but here they are excellent and made to order. We would recommend the Sonora Best Western and their breakfast.

  • 5
    « Enjoyed it! »

Although it was just a quick stop for the night, my family and our dog enjoyed the stay! The rooms were clean and well stocked. We arrived at night and the staff was quick to check us in so we could get a good night's rest. Breakfast in the morning was good and the staff was helpful and had great customer service. We would certainly stay there again!

    « Sonora hotels »

Room were excellent and smell soo clean we were passing through tired decided too stay was very comfortable will stay again thanks ??very clean yes was happy will s t as y again good motels nice staff as well

    2
« Budget motel premium price »

I was expecting more for over $100 a night. This was nothing more than a motel 6. The décor is out dated and old. The bed was old and not comfortable. The furniture was very old and looked worn. The only positive was the cooked to order breakfast burrito.

    5
« Comfy place with great breakfast »

This is a nice, comfortable motel with friendly staff. The breakfast is super with burritos and omelettes made fresh to order. The rooms are clean and equipped with microwave and refrigerator that compensate for no room service. There are several places to eat within walking distance.

    4
    « Satisfied »

GM and staff where great. Clean property and nice breakfast, You can call it in and they will have it ready for you in the dinning area. Best of all it's free. Cost is very competitive with any other stays in the area. Would definitely recommend!

    4
    « Made-to-order Breakfast »

Nice motel with clean room, newer-looking furnishings and a comfortable bed. The breakfast bar offers made-to-order meals, with your choice of eggs, omelettes, bacon or sausage and pancakes. Great service!

    4
    « Good Stopping Point »

Traveling from Arizona back home to North Carolina, we found that Sonora was a good place to stop for the first night. We always look for a Best Western, and, with the exception of the lack of wi-fi, were not disappointed in the Best Western Sonora Inn. The problem was not with the hotel; a recent storm had knocked our their ISP, & service was not reaored during our stay. Other than that, it was a great, restful night.

    4
    « Good stay »

Descent stay with the price. Very limited to stay at Sonora, best one I believe. Would suggest calling ahead to make sure you get what kind of beds you want. If you do last minute, your stuck with what you got available.

    3
« Not Bad for a Night but Expensive »

While traveling to Big Bend we decided to stay in Sonora and because Best Westerns are generally decent hotels we stopped here. This is an older hotel, but the room was clean. The omelette bar in the morning was a nice touch. We paid over $100 to stay here for the night, though, which is too expensive for this hotel. I was expecting a price in the $70 range.

    4
    « Better than others »

I need to stay in the area of Sonora TX. I have tried other motels that I was not satisfied with in the past. Best Western is my choice at this time for its quality. I only wish the office and breakfast facility was closer and outer wear not necessary to get to and from these facilities. Prefer to take my breakfast back to my room so that my small dog is not left alone.

  • 5
    « Thanksgiving 2015 »

When I choose lodging, I choose Best Western because it's the BEST! Beds are always so comfy and obviously are replaced often, are the latest style--for example they are always high profile mattresses with pillow tops. The linens are in good condition and unstained.

    5
    « HIGHLY RECOMMENDED »

Very spacious and clean rooms. The Internet was a little slow.Have a good breakfast, that is made to order.Several eating establishments in close proximity.Easy access on and off of interstate. The suite is very nice if you want to relax and watch T.V. There are (2) separate t.v's ,so the kids can watch their program and mom and dad can watch theirs.

    4
    « Good stay »

Clean room, nice staff. Excellent breakfast that was custom made. Good location. Easy to find, right off the highway, far enough that we didn't have any highway noise. The fact that they allowed our dogs was a plus.

    3
« old motel being upgraded, clean but had problems »

Though clean and comfortable, we experienced issues. First were the stairs to the second floor. They are spaced unevenly. Thankfully we compensated after almost tripping the on the second stair. Next was at breakfast, where the only choices for fruit were red 'delicious' apples and apple juice (sugar in water). The orange juice was advertised but empty. When asked, the gal maintaining the breakfast area suggested yogurt for fruit. Hmmmm? Finally the keys to our room stopped working. I returned from breakfast first and found my key didn't work. I walked back around our building across the parking lot to the main building and had it reprogrammed. My husband then joined me, we walked back only to find both keys didn't work. I remained while he walked back to get a real key. That was refused and his key was again reprogrammed. Still didn't work. In the meantime a housekeeper tried her master key, which also didn't work. She then, FINALLY, called for a master metal key. At least the room was clean and comfortable.

« The only thing missing was the mint on the pillow »

What a wonderful stop on our trip out to West Texas. We reserved this room because it would put us a few more miles further down the road after a day of work. It turned into a great choice. About 30 minutes after unloading and moving into our room we received a call from the front desk asking if they could do anything for us and/or do we need anything. The room was absolutely spotless and my wife wanted to take home the extra sink your feet into floor mats on each side of the bed. Speaking of which the bed slept as well as our own and that's a gem in itself to find when you are traveling. What we didn't know at booking is they had a real breakfast. Fresh made to order breakfast including omelette of your choice with pancakes and all the fixings. If you are heading down IH10 toward Marfa or Big Bend this is an excellent stop in the road for a good night's sleep.

    3
« Clean, confortable, friendly and great breakfast »

Just an overnighter the hotel is a good place to stay. The beds are confortable we did get a good night sleep. The breakfast was hot with an omelett station or go on the inter-net to pre- order your breakfast. The coffee was hot and good. No problems here. I would stay here again. We noticed several Hotel's offer microwaves in the rooms that is a nice feature for us

    5
    « Sonora Stay »

I needed to stop and they were accommodating. I had Best Western rewards card hoping for a better value. But, the breakfast made to order and the coupon for the Caverns of Sonora helped the value. I would go back. The staff was wonderful. Thank you.

    5
    « Comfortable Room! »

This hotel is a great choice for a stay in the Sonora, Texas area. Breakfast is hot and the coffee was excellent as far as budget hotels go. Easy to get to off the interstate, and the beds are great, A restful night's sleep.

« Great Place to Stay when traveling through Texas »

We were on a road trip from Tucson, AZ to St. Augustine, FLA. We stayed at Hampton Inns and Hiltons and Candlewood Suites, NONE was better than the Best Western in Sonora, TX. The breakfast was about the best we had during our entire trip. Fresh, made to order eggs. Put a smile on this weary travelers face. The staff is friendly and helpful. Will Stay again when traveling through Texas.

    5
« Excellent Value and Service »

This has been my best experience at a Best Western hotel. The price was quite reasonable, our room was clean and quiet, all of the equipment worked properly, the staff were helpful and friendly, and my wife and I had a complementary breakfast that included delicious omelets cooked to order.

    « LOVED THIS HOTEL!!!!!!! »

Normally stay at Bed and Breakfast type lodging. This hotel was a wonderful surprise. The breakfast was AMAZING. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have stayed in at a hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Vijay worked well with our group of 22 folks to ensure we had a wonderful stay.

    5
    « Amazing!!! »

We like the services and the breakfast was awesome. Very clean and the customer services was a great team too! The location was very easy to find it. The Lobby was very clean and the beds was comfortable a the internet had a very good signal.

    3
    « Made-To-Order Breakfast a Plus »

The made to order breakfast was a plus, by far the nicest feature of the hotel. Our room unfortunately had a very nasty smell, there was a large stain on the carpet in front of the AC. I'm guess the odor was permeating from that area. We didn't realize how overwhelming the smell was until we were in bed otherwise we would have requested a different room. We had driven all day and were very tired, a fresh smelling room would have been appreciated! The swimming pool was very dirty, was looking forward to a swim after Being in the car most of the day. I have never written a negative review on Trip Advisor...sorry this had to be my first.

« Clean Rooms -Good Price »

Nice rooms , clean and comfortable. The beds were good and quite. Breakfast was cooked to order eggs and pancakes which was a nice change from the continental breakfast most motels offer. Very affordable rate.
