« Great hotel for a weekend break. »

A really pleasant hotel, in a great location. Breakfast was lovely, and plenty of choice. Rooms are a nice size too, with all the usual amenities. My only negative would be that they were a little too warm when you woke up. We arrived at the hotel approx 1am. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist called Victoria. She was very helpful guiding us around the map of Sofia and was full of laughter. She allowed us to drink in the bar until the early hours and we had a great laugh with her. As she had to manage both the bar and reception, she could have quite easily decided to have an easy night behind reception. Credit where it's due! I would highly recommend this hotel and Sofia as a city break! It was really cheap compared to U.K. Standards. I will definitely stay here again.

    « Short Break »

What a great hotel with very pleasant and responsive staff, located "literally" just round the corner from the main shopping area but without the ambient noise, great choice at breakfast and whilst we didn`t utilise the other meal options the choices looked more than acceptable - Restaurant next to the hotel entrance offers good value traditional meals, turning right out of the hotel and walking about 200m (on the opposite side of the road (same as the small church)) you`ll find a great little bar that does a good selection of drinks and food (cannot recall the name but is set back with fairy lights outside) taxi from the airport to the hotel was 14 Lev (£7) all in all a great stay and to be recommended.

« Great Location, great staff, but not everything was perfect »

After about a 20-minute transfer from the Intl airport, we arrived at this hotel for a long weekend, and first impressions were that the hotel looked very nice and was greeted by a warm lady on reception (Victoria). Check in took about 2 minutes and took the lift the 6th floor to our room (604). The room was well decorated and had more lights on that Gatwick Airport but at least it was nice and bright. The room had tea, coffee, a kettle, and powdered milk sachets. The room has a safe and also a mini-bar too, we didn't use the mini-bar and therefore don't know how expensive items are. The bed looked like 2 beds pressed together but was still very comfortable but maybe a little low for some people. The room had a TV that only seemed to have the news in English but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The bathroom was well decorated and had a semi-circle walk in shower. I had to duck to get into the shower (as I'm about 6-6.1 but the shower head was at about the 7 foot mark; so I didn't have to worry about banging my head but just had to watch it as I walked into the shower. The bathroom also had a bidet for those of you who wish to use it. Overall the room looks comfortable and is light but the only downside of the room was that it was far too hot for my partner and I. We made the mistake of turning on the climate control to its coldest setting and went out for a bite to eat but come back into a room that was unbearably hot. Therefore it seems that the temperature is controlled centrally and that it can't be altered on a room-by-room basis. I appreciate that we are all different and run at different temperatures etc but my partner and I didn't manage to sleep that well on the 1st night because the room was too hot. If you feel the cold, this room is ideal for you, if you run a little hot; this room maybe a little hot for you. We asked reception for a fan to cool our room down on the 2nd night and they were brilliant and gave us 2 fans, which thankfully helped but only really pushed the hot air around. We were able to open the window about 2-3 inches but that was it. Please please take my advice and if you suffer from the heat, please think carefully before selecting this hotel in warmer temperatures but will be fine if you are ok with heating. The reception area is light and airy, and also has seating and a bar. We purchased drinks from the bar and whilst they're still cheap by UK standards, they're slightly more expensive than the bars in the town. I don't like to leave negative comments if I can and will therefore get 3 things down now for what didn't work for us during our visit, firstly as you've just read; the room was too hot for us and we were unable to cool it down ? secondly we had so many issues with our room key cards failing to let us into our room. We stayed for 3 nights (Fri-Mon) and had issues from Saturday until the time we left where the key cards wouldn't open the door. Every time we would try the cards in the door, they didn't work; we would go down to reception; they would re-programme the card; we went back upstairs and they still didn't work; we went back down to reception for them to send up a staff member with a special ?master card' reader which would finally let us in after about 10-20 attempts. It became a bit of laugh or a joke really. The doors themselves have batteries in them that read and recognise cards, as opposed to a computer in reception. The hotel should have really replaced the door battery on the Saturday when we first reported it but it still wasn't fixed by the time that we left the hotel Monday morning. I've previously read comments about breakfast and have to say that the food out on the hot plates was actually cold. There seemed to be quite a lot of choice and staff in the restaurant were very polite and helpful but the heat of the cooked food was very poor and wasn't even warm at best. Sorry and it gives me no pleasure leaving such a comment but it was that way for all of our cooked breakfasts and reluctantly leave a third negative point. Now that the negatives are out of the way let me state what really works for this hotel. The location is quite literally 1-2 minutes walk from the main area in Sofia. Staff were very polite and a major gold star goes to Victoria the receptionist, she is one of the best staff members we have ever come across in any hotel anywhere. The metro stations are a further 5 or so minutes walk once you are in the main area. If I came here again I would catch the Metro and walk the 500-600 metres to the hotel (I'm sure that the metro is called NDK or something with 3 letters that wouldn't naturally go together in English). There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops within a few minutes walk of the hotel. We usually get some form of transport pass but didn't feel the need in Sofia because whatever sites we wished to visit are all within 2Kms from the hotel; we mainly visited roman ruins or churches but also went to the Russian war memorial. Food and drink is very reasonably priced in most places that we visited and maybe the odd few wines ended up being slightly expensive but nothing to break the bank. We managed to find a real-ale (they call it live ale) bar in one of the back roads and the place allows you to pour your own drinks (it's metered and don't get too excited!), have bottles of real ale, or other drinks and has a great variety of food. The place is worth a visit and is called the ?Ale Bar'. Word of caution here from our experience, when paying the bill and you expect change; DO NOT SAY THANK YOU until you receive your change back! It took us 2 days of realising why they kept our change. Recommendation is to resist saying thank you as you hand over the money in the first instance and pay whatever tip you wish to pay afterwards and say thank you??We went for a meal at the place immediately beside the hotel and it was the worst and overpriced meal of our weekend and would thoroughly recommend avoiding the place and walking the 200 metres to the main shopping area to get better quality food, service, and value for money. If I come back here, I would avoid this place at all costs! Another word of caution is if you wish to take photos inside of some buildings that you're required to pay a charge of about £4-5. Not sure if they issue a ticket or a badge or something but I didn't' realise and some man muttered something to me about buying a ticket but I declined to do so and didn't take any further photos. You will notice small kiosks with a camera symbol on the glass as you walk into. As previously stated we always use transport whenever we visit somewhere abroad but there really is no need in Sofia if you plan on just staying in Sofia as it's all walk-able if you're able to walk (or is accessible to those in wheelchairs too).

« Wonderful introduction to Sofia. »

Our room was perfectly comfortable, having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the city was delightful. Staff were very welcoming and we were only a very short walk from the centre of the city where there were great restaurants and lots to see..

« Nice hotel in excellent locations »

We stayed here in a twin room on the 5th floor for 3 nights (Fri to Mon) in October. The hotel is very well located just off Vitosha Boulevard. Plenty of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. The hotel itself is nice. Very clean throughout and staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. Check-in and Check-out were quick and easy. The wifi is excellent. The breakfast is also decent. We are very lucky because we have a Bulgarian friend who lives in Sofia and therefore he knows the best places to go. A great tip from him if you want to try traditional Bulgarian cuisine - instead of the expensive / overpriced traditional restaurant right next door to this hotel (Moma) there is a place called Divaka only a few minutes walk away which does similar food at a fraction of the price - it's also popular with the locals! The current trend in Sofia is hipster burger places so you'll find a lot of these around the city. Overall, the hotel is great for a comfortable stay close to the main central shopping area (Vitosha).

    « Perfect location »

Nothing especially fancy but everything in its place. The parking $9 is across the street but it is on the public transit line, and within walking distance to the main promenade. and across from the congress. The rooms are large, and comfortable but the service is bit slow however the bell staff is great. The breakfast was very nice with a large selection. Overall a good 4* There is not much ambiance in the area.

« Great location and nice rooms »

Great location. Less then 50 meters from Vitosha boulevard. The rooms are in a good size, clean and with a good shower room. The staff was helpful when needed. The only negative is the air conditioning - it has central air conditioning system and it could only warm the room. We did suffer from it when we wanted to cool the room.

« Nice hotel and friendly staff in Sofia »

The hotel was very welcoming as we arrived late at the hotel. We were welcomed warmly but also there was a complimentary bar with snacks in the hotel lobby area, then we had seating on the outside patio -- it was warm outside so it was nice to sit in the patio area. The room was nicely decorated and clean, with a large bathroom.

« Peaceful and pleasant hotel »

Chose this hotel because it is near the city shopping street and true enough, it is just about a street behind. This means that it is not at the bustling street (not that it is really pack...) and is tucked in a quieter corner but yet close to the main street. The room is good enough as i feel that the lights can be brighter. Size of room is big and you can place a few luggage on the floor and still have enough space to maneuver around. Breakfast served is decent with good spread but if you stay at the level where the cafe is, the corridor will be filled with the cooking smell.

« Nice hotel in the center of Sofia »

Small hotel located on a side street near downtown Sofia. It is just a few blocks from the pedestrian street with many restaurants and stores. Nice welcoming at the reception desk. They offered a free welcome drink with a choice of red or white wine. Free wireless Internet in the room with good reception. Free breakfast included with the room. Large choice of hot and cold entrees. Small safe and small refrigerator with a mini-bar in the room. Small flat screen T.V. with interactive choices. Many channels available and movie selections. Coffee maker with free coffee in the room. Bed was not very comfortable. No smoking in all the rooms, restaurant, lobby bar and public areas of the hotel. Walking distance from many of the city monuments. 2 small elevators. Room was very quiet on the second floor. Very good choice for quality-price.

    4
« Excellent business hotel in downtown Sofia »

The Best Western Premier offers what you would expect from a 4-star business hotel such as free wifi, big breakfast buffet, fitness facilities, great location downtown. Professional staff makes the stay well worth it.

    « So unprofessional stuff »

Let's start with this sentence. They still keep our money blocked on our credit card due to preauthoruzation they did few minutes after we booked a suite on booking.com. It has been one month since we stayed there. Can you believe that? We payed by cash for suite and extras. Ofcourse I still have the bill. To cut long story short, they don't even bother to answer my e mails anymore. So unprofessional. Do they have managers at all? Wow what a low standards they have! I m a hotel manager myself, and so I'm shocked! Anyway... if you want to pay double, go to this hotel. Room was clean. Not perfect but clean. But thats my profession so I know it can be better. Beds are comfy. Our room doors were open when we came. Don't know why. Location is poor because our windows was looking at some ruined building or something. I dont know. But that is less important. Receptionist are cold as ice, no warm smiles :D and let me tell you that is most important thing for a visitor when they enter the hotel. Guys working on the parking were nice. Parking is very expensive. 10 euros per day. Breakfast was poor. Cold. No kitchen so you can't have lunch or dinner there. Which is important. Specialy for city hotels where people are in the hurry, check in late and hungry but there is nothing to eat. We were generous with tips tho. We know how hard job is working in the hotel. But this thing with our credit card is a downer. Hotel manager, you must do it better, harder, stronger. Anyway, you people outhere choose some other hotel. My advice.

    « Worst service ever !!! »

I will not give total review of the hotel ... because I didn't stay ....but I MUST give advice to those who are comeing with private car to avoid this hotel or their private parking... When I arrive in front of the hotel I park on the place where the garage is , and in few minutes come employ?? who was very unpolite and immeditaly told me that I have to give him the keys in order to park the car down ...which is ok and normal for me but when i ask where can I wait to get my key he told me he must keep the key from the car in order to move the car or etc. Personaly I find this very uncomfortable and I give advice to all those who plan to visit this hotel to know this unusal thing. ( also keep in mind that Bulgaria is well known country from stealing cars !!)

    « Excellent location »

Spent a total of three nights here. This hotel is in an excellent location close to the centre of Sofia. Spacious, well equipped room and bathroom. Helpful staff. Breakfast room a pleasant place to eat though the breakfast itself was average. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a short stay.

    4
« Excellent place with one downer »

Certainly this place deserves excellent ratings and I have only downgraded it one notch for reasons I will explain. But the location is great, the rooms are very comfortable and nicely appointed, the showers and breakfast are excellent. Considering the location in the capital, we thought the price was very reasonable. We are big foodies and had researched a place called Moma that we thought was nearby. We called down to the front desk to ask the young lady to book us a table. "Sorry, I don't know this place," she said. It was getting to be dinnertime anyway so we went out to look for it. Shockingly, it was next door to the hotel! And we had a really very good meal there in nice atmospheric surroundings (you can read my wife's review if you wish). The next day I asked another hotel staff about this, how can you not know the place next door? "Oh" he said, "we don't work with them." And he proceeded to suggest another nearby restaurant that he said was "the best in the center." We accepted his advice and went there the second night. The food was heavy and average at best and it was clearly a place catering almost exclusively to tourists. A lot of clever, showy touches in the service, décor and staff apparel but we thought the food was a C- at best. This is a great hotel, no doubt, but if you are serious about good food, I suggest you don't ask for restaurant suggestions. I will leave it to the reader to imagine if "we work with them" means "they pay us a rake off." In addition to Moma you can go down another block to the intersection of the pedestrian street for a nice sort of café meal at Samurai (not Asian) and leave the tourist traps to those who ask for advice. Unless you want one, of course....

    « Excellent location. »

Right around the corner to the pedestrian mall and a ten-minute walk to all the attractions. The restaurant Moma Bulgarian is steps away...excellent place to eat. The hotel had very comfortable beds and enough luxury to make it a super affordable place without a lot of useless excessivenesses. The breakfast was huge with delicious fresh baked croissants, hot food, vegetables, cheese, cereal and much more. The coffee machine does take a little time so queue up it is really worth the wait. We had a room overlooking Moma on the fourth floor but it was very quiet and nice.

    5
    « Simply the best »

What can I say, stayed for 1 nite only unfortunately. Relaxed yet professional check in. Perfect suite in every way. Dinner in the big restaurant was first class. Breakfast was a feast. Simply the best.

« Great value and location »

Arrived at 3.00 am and reception staff-Yes 3 on duty very helpful.Offered a welcome drink which was appreciated after our late flight. Rooms large for a city centre hotel and good free Wi- Fi. Breakfast more than adequate with a good choice but only 1 coffee machine which can cause a hold up as there can be a queue. Coffee quality is very good compared to some other hotels. We had a room at the back and very quiet. No street noise. Comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities in room. Well worth the money for our 3 night stay

    « Recommended »

I recommend this hotel especially for its location, just off Vitosha Boulevard. Clean spacious rooms, good breakfast, free wifi, parking available at an extra cost and only 10 minutes taxi drive from airport. Hotel staff was nice with the exception of one member of staff who was cold and irritable..maybe due to night shift. Highly recommended base in Sofia.

« About as Good As it Gets »

Really nice rooms in tasteful modern style . Quiet as well despite the great location downtown. You can walk easily to most must see destinations. Add in one of the best breakfasts you'll find anywhere and there really isn't a reason to stay elsewhere.

    « Excellent »

We stayed 4 nights in BW Premier Thracia and were very happy. Kindly, quiet, very clean hotel, in a very good location. We had a wellcome drink, free mineral water and free coffee and tea in the room. A lot of toiletteries in the bathroom, with shower gel, conditioner, body milk....It was great to take the breakfast buffet upstairs on the terrace. But I am afraid, this was temporarily, because on our last morning, we had to go to the normal restaurant and I must say that this place was not so cosy. Location is super, very close to Vitosha, at walking distance from Serdika metro-station (for the airport!), and from the hotel you can visit all the must see's from Sofia, just by foot. It is possible to walk to the main bus and train station, but this is a big 2 km. If you want to go to Boyana by public transport, walk from the hotel to the beginning of Bul Praga (about 750 m from the hotel) and take there the trolleybus nr. 2. It stops at 2 minutes from the Boyana museum from which it is possible to walk to the Boyana church (about 2 km). I recommend the BW Premier Thracia.

We had a beautiful suite, enjoyed an excellent breakfast, very helpful staff and WONDERFUL location! It was a short block toEd us to one very c pedestrian street and many restaurants and shops. They don't have a workout room but they referred us to one that was very close.

The hotel is ideal for the city centre, only about 200 metres from the Main Street The people in the hotel are very friendly speak English very good and will help with booking of trips The breakfast is satisfactory , everything you need but the eggs could be better presented I would recommend this hotel, for s very pleasant stay

    « Very good hotel »

We've stayed here for two nights and can really recommend! Location is absolutely great and convenient, rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. They serve welcome drink, which is lovely. Breakfast room tables are not very smartly distributed, but breakfast itself is delicious and has many options. Staff is helpful, friendly and polite. I just had a problem with one front desk member of the night shift who replied to my question in an ironic way and I definitely didnt appreciate, but maybe it was cultural (I dont know, I just know I didnt get it), but nothing that clouded up the rest of the stay, which was pure joy

    « An excellent break »

The hotel location was superb, the staff, all of them were excellent. Sofia is a delightful town. much to see and do, and it is cheap, Mind you the sun shone everyday and it was warm which helped, one could walk every where in the town from the hotel. The cultural Center is worth a visit.

« Good stay, good location »

Located at few minutes walk to the Vitosha Boulevard, its been a great stay. Its about 15 minutes from airport by taxi. costs about 15 leva maximum. There's a welcome drink. has coffee maker in room. fast and free wifi. Rooms were big, clean. Staff polite and helpful. Would like to thank Kiril at the reception and Ivana at the bar for super service. Close to lot of restaurants and bars and pubs. Has one traditional Bulgarian cuisine restaurant just beside the hotel. Definitely a repeat stay.

« Ideally located, comfortable, great base for exploring »

There's not much to do in Sofia but this is a great base to do it from, close to all the sights with easy walking and just round the corner from the main shopping street and many restaurants in the street and surrounding area. Hotel staff are friendly, small but intimate bar area, great choice for breakfast (but you need to keep reminding them they've run out. Didn't dine there in the evening and don't think they have a restaurant but MOMO is next door so you don't have to walk far if you don't want too!

« Excellent hotel in the center of Sofia »

My 28-year old daughter and I stayed at Thracia Hotel on three different occasions while coming in and out of Sofia in August. It was the perfect place on a number of levels - the staff was friendly and professional, the rooms were clean comfortable and quiet, and the location was perfect just a block off the main pedestrian boulevard Vitosha. It is close to good restaurants and many interesting sights are within walking distance.

    4
    « Great location »

We are leaving tomorrow. Spent 3 nights. Great location. Very good service. Enjoyed the welcome drink and atmosphere. Breakfast was not the best in addition what disturbed me was the mold in the bathroom. These 2 problems can be dealt with immediately. If they do it will be great and convenient.

    5
« Great hotel in a fantastic location. »

Fantastic hotel, close to everything, with easy access to the metro from the airport. Friendly staff. The airport transfer was inexpensive and efficient. Walkable to all of Sofia's attractions. Would stay here again.

    « Fantastic Location »

the location of this hotel is fantastic. We were literally a 2 minute walk from Vitosha Boulevard and 10 minute walk from the parks. We were so close to the restaurants/cafe's nearby you will never go hungry. We found some great gems in some of the back streets near the hotel. The staff were great from start to end and they always greeted you with a smile. The only downside it didn't have a pool and going in the summer a pool would have been ideal for when the days were too hot to move. The rooms are a little dated and the bed was low to my liking but it was comfy so I had no trouble sleeping. I would highly recommend this hotel if your looking to stay in the city. I would be returning when I next visit Sofia.

    5
« Pleasant and convenient stay in central Sofia »

This hotel is conveniently located within a minute walk to Blvd Vitosha - a pedestrian area with lots of cafes and shops, particularly nice in in the summer months! The hotel is modern and in a very good condition. Rooms are of good size and bathrooms are great. Staff were very pleasant and helpful with all our requests. Breakfast on the terrace of the 7th floor was most enjoyable and a great way to start the day!

    5
    « Fantastic quality accommodation »

Really lovely rooms, clean and well equipped. Great location and the staff were on hand to order taxis and really helpful. The breakfast was of an exceptional standard to suit anyone's needs. They also kept our bags safe after we checked out before our journey to the airport for a late flight.

    3
« Comfortable hotel spoiled by a poor buffet breakfast »

The hotel is well placed for a visit to central Sofia. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the breakfast arrangements were inadequate and of a mediocre quality. A very small dining area and a lack of tables for our party of four on arrival meant we had to sit separately. A constant queue at the coffee/tea dispenser, no prepared fruit and a meagre hot food selection resulted in a disappointing breakfast.

    « City centre hotel. »

Stayed in a triple room during June for three nights. Check in and out was quick and efficient, and reception very helpful providing maps and advising us of best places to go. The bedroom was large, and very clean, bed and pillows very comfy although sofa bed not really suitable for a six foot adult. Bathroom was also large and very clean. Towels were big and fluffy. The hotel is situated off the main street, so two minutes walk to the shops and bars , but hotel nice and quiet. Breakfast was served on the 7th floor outdoor eating area, with great views over the city. There was a varied choice for breakfast, but everything, including scrambled eggs, bacon and baked beans, was cold. Tea and coffee also took a long time to be served. Our flight home was late in the evening so we left our luggage at the hotel until we were ready to go with no problems. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel if I returned to Sofia.

    « Comfortable stay »

Out of all the hotels we have been in for this trip all around bulgaria, this was the best! At first we were a bit taken aback with how small the lobby and hotel are. The rooms though are very comfortable and spacious, and the service is great! Everyone is so nice and helpful. Beds are comfy, and the location of the hotel is great for walking around, dining and shopping.

    5
« Great value and quality »

Stayed for 2 nights in July. We were given a room right on top of the reception that was on the street side. I was expecting it to be VERY NOISY. It wasn't! The odd car door bang, but that was it. The bed was comfortable and the room a reasonable size. Breakfast was a bit average but the roof top location was lovely. All round, a good hotel that I would recommend to anyone.

« Really good location and hotel »

This hotel is very easy to get to and the location is very good - close to most of the sites and two metro stops. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was good. Air con was great and it was very comfortable. Around the corner there a few bars and an Irish pub which had a good range of beers. Lots of eating places on the Boulevard Vitosha anyway (although for drinks they tend to shut at midnight so you might want to got further if you plan to stay out later). There's a restaurant just outside which does serve good food, and many other places nearby. The hotel was excellent value and if I return to Sofia I would want to stay here again. Two tips: 1) Tea/coffee was also available in the room (although one thing I found in Bulgaria was that the sachets offered '2 in 1' or '3 in 1' coffee which means they contain powdered milk and sometimes sugar so we ended up buying a small tin as we like ours black). No major thing but it seemed very hard to find sachets it you want it black! 2) We got the metro from the airport - remember you need to buy an additional ticket for extra luggage. Also, another oddity was that the line for the NDK (nearest stop) proved a little confusing as when you approach the signs for the direct of travel, it says "Direction Lozenets". However, there is no station called Lozenets - it is a neighborhood. Now this sounds confusing, and there is a much easier solution to reach the hotel - take the metro to Serdica and walk along the Vitosha Boulevard. There really is not much in it between walking to the two stations. We had large cases and it only took us 15 minutes to walk to this stop and then there's a direct line to the airport.

    « An excellent option »

An excellent option in the heart of the city! Very clean, with spacious, modern rooms and friendly, polite staff. A few meters walk to the Vitosha Blvd the hotel offers direct access to numerous attractions, shopping centres, restaurants and cafes. We stayed for 3 days in June, during a business trip and we truly enjoyed the accommodation. . This is a lovely hotel. Compared to other Sofia hotels, this stands out for good. Highly recommended.

    « A Convenient Bedroom »

I stayed here 2 years ago when it was newer. (see my review of 1 Aug 2014). The hotel now shows some wear and tear and is less good than my first stay.. The + points: 1. The hotel's location is excellent : it is in the very centre of the city and is less than 100 metres from Vitosha Street (pedestrian boulevard with lively bars and cafes. 2. Price. Good value and relatively low price.. 3. Check in and check out was very speedy. . 4. Bed: comfortable. 5. Staff friendly and relaxed The (-) points: 1. Free basic wifi requires constant logging in. 2. Shower doors were loose (and not repaired) 3. The in-room safe did not work Breakfast is OK - especially if you can get one of the 3 tables in the shade outside (otherwise it is too hot and sunny). There is a taxi stand 70m away so it is easy to get taxis. Would I stay again? Yes, because of (1) the price of the room and (2) the hotel is a nice place to stay for a day or two as a base to explore Sofia.

    « One night stay. »

Great location just off the main pedestrian shopping street. Great bars and restaurants just around the corner. Room was small but very clean and comfy. We were leaving early before breakfast and they had a packed lunch at reception for us to take with us. Nice hotel great city.

« Nice hotel but beware of noise issues »

On the plus side, the room was nicely appointed and beautifully decorated, with a great rainfall shower in the bathroom. The breakfast was very nice, although the breakfast room didn't have near the capacity needed to seat people, which was inconvenient. The staff was professional and helpful. The main negative is the plethora of noise sources. One side of the hotel looks over the patio of an outdoor restaurant, from which you can hear people talking and music playing all through the evening until midnight. Even though the hotel itself is non-smoking, I got my share of smoke coming into the room from the restaurant when I had the windows open. Regarding the hotel itself, the walls were very thin, and I could clearly hear conversations from the adjoining rooms. Finally, there is a big construction zone a block away, and so I heard construction noise for the better part of the day and the restaurant throughout the evening. Finally, all of the hotel's own outdoor spaces were smoking areas. There was no way to enjoy the nice weather without being engulfed in smoke. As attractive and central that this hotel is, I wouldn't stay here again due to the noise issues.

    « Overnight stay »

Our family group stayed one night in this hotel which is very centrally located near many of Sofia's landmarks. You can either leisurely stroll on the pedestrian walkway where all the restaurants and shops are or walk along or sit on the many benches next to the fountains in the beautiful open area in front of the Palace of Culture. So one has a choice: hustle and bustle city life or a bit of sereneness in the park area of the Palace of Culture. I can recommend this hotel!

« Good hotel perfect location »

The hotel is one block away for Main Street, which is perfect so there is noise. Desk staff really friendly. We booked a suite and was very ampliuos with separate living room with and extra bed for my daughter. Bathroom nice. Breakfast was no bad at all but not the best that is the only reason why I don't give them 5 points. I'm very bad writing the reviews but I try to put my best effort since I'm a travel agent and for me it's important to have them, so got everything on writing but then I don't put it here :-(.

« The best mattress and the worst breakfast »

The breakfast was extremely bad, the cheese had no taste, there was no fresh vegetables but boiled broccoli and cauliflower, tomatoes from a can and white bean from a can. The only delicious things was the cheesecake and the croissants. The mattress we slept on was the perfect one, we travel a lot and nowhere slept so comfortably.

    « Simply Excellent. »

Our stay at Best Western Premier Thracia was simply as good as it could be. Reception staff were very friendly and not too bureaucratic (very helpful after a long journey) and the rooms were clean and large, so was the bathroom. Breakfast selection was not huge (but not small) and quality was perfect. The hotel's location is great and just a few steps from the very center of Sofia and the view of the breakfast from the roof was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel.

« Great location and hospitality »

We stayed here for 2 nights and found it to be comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful. The location was excellent. We enjoyed walking to the cathedral and restaurants within a short stroll from the hotel. The breakfast on the roof top terrace was good and a lovely view. We would recommend this hotel to travellers.

« Great location, service leaves a lot to be desired »

Booked a suite for 6 days in one of the nicest (and best value) cities we have visited. This was our 3rd visit and have previously stayed in Arena Di Serdica (a fantastic hotel) and also rented an apartment for 2 weeks. The location of the hotel is superb, being a stones throw from Vitosha Boluevard and only a short walk to the main sights. If you don't fancy walking the taxi's and Metro are both incredibly cheap compared to the UK (as is the food where you can have a bottle of wine with an excellent lunch or dinner for less than £20). Where the hotel let itself down was the general service levels (the room was set up for 1 person rather than 2 and there were items regularly not replaced in respect of toiletries and coffee etc). In truth, this would all have been ok if the front of house staff had been remotely welcoming but there was rarely a smile or a good morning/ evening when passing through reception. On a plus note, great air conditioning, good breakfast and still a fantastic city.

    « A great hotel »

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at this great hotel. Location cannot be bettered - only a minute's walk to the lively main street. We were upgraded to a spacious superior room which was a real bonus. Soundproofing was very good so there was no noise from other rooms or the street meaning we slept well. Staff very friendly and helpful. Roof terrace for breakfast was lovely. Another highly recommended hotel.

« Perfect Location, Fantastic Service »

My partner and I stayed for two nights at the hotel and it was just perfect. We arrived at the hotel after having endured a 14 hour trip via bus and two unconditioned trains (in 35°C/95°F heat) from Istanbul and we badly needed showers and rest! When we opened the door to our room, it seemed an absolute paradise to us! The hotel is ideally centrally located just steps away from Vitosha Boulevard which is a pedestrian only street with dozens of cafes and restaurants. The room we stayed in was exceptionally large with a desk, sofa, dressing area with full mirror, and full closet. The furnishings are tasteful and neat. The bathroom is comprised of a shower stall (with good water pressure) sink, toilet and bidet. There is also a towel warmer but as we were there during the heat wave, we needed no heat. The air conditioning worked just great and I even needed to turn it down more than once. The room was clean and well-presented. The WiFi (usually the only pre-requisite when we're looking for hotels) worked perfectly; Clear signal throughout and easy to sign into. I've included photos of the room because I was so impressed with it. (The bed was made very neatly when we first got in but I took the photo after we had thrown ourselves down for a rest ? the trip from Istanbul really took it out of us!) The service was also brilliant. While my partner and I were not overly impressed with most of the service we received in Sofia, the staff at the hotel were polite, friendly and helpful throughout. When we turned up the hotel, we brought along three new friends that we had met on the train. They had not booked a room and followed us to see if the Premiere Thracia had rooms available. They were fully booked but called to another Best Western for us, booked the room for our friends and gave us map and specific instructions on how to get there ? the other hotel was only a few blocks away. I can say without hesitation that this hotel met or exceeded all expectations. I would highly recommend to anyone.

    « Excellent location »

The hotel is located on a narrow street very close to the main pedestrian thoroughfare but far enough not to be disturbed by noises. Staff is extremely nice and rooms are good. The parking is underground. Breakfast is served in the small restaurant on top of the building (7th floor). The food variety is poor though.

    5
    « Exceptional service »

We stayed 3 nights in this very comfortable, clean & friendly hotel a short walk from the main square. The staff were exceptional in the service they gave. Their breakfasts and the coffee were very good. Highly recommended.

« Perfect location for exploring Sofia »

Never having visited Bulgaria before we were not sure what to expect. What a treat it therefore was to start our holiday in this excellent hotel. Everything by far exceeded our expectations. The staff in all areas were very professional and the location of the hotel is excellent for exploring this beautiful city.

    5
« Perfectly located city hotel »

Located right next to the main paved shopping boulevard, and within reach of lots of restaurants, bars and attractions, this hotel is perfect for a city break to Sofia. Our room was reasonably large - quiet and comfortable despite being next to the road, breakfast was good and the staff are also very helpful. Our luggage had been delayed but the hotel helped us out with free toothbrushes etc. which was a nice touch. The hotel is only about a 10 minute walk from the metro station - a lot easier and cheaper than getting a taxi. When we are back in Sofia for a mini break we will stay here again and have already recommended this hotel to some friends.

    4
    « A good city centre hotel »

We stayed in room 604 which was quite spacious and very quiet. The breakfast was good but a little unimaginative. For example, using standard tasteless packaged jams when the country produces such a wonderful range of fruit jams. The staff were friendly and helpful. The wifi was excellent. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a comfortable city centre stay in Sofia

    5
« Great location, safe parking, good breakfast »

We stayed in a family room, which was well laid out with two separate rooms and two bathrooms. Breakfast was tasty. Underground parking was very convenient and safe. The location is fabulous - close to a popular pedestrian zone.

    4
    « Breakfast by it's thong straps »

The room was nice, the bed comfy and the facilities fine. Breakfast was solid but uninspiring, a lot of things that the hotel had bought in for reheating not for cooking themselves. Wifi was good if you paid for it, below adequate if not, but there was a network socket in the room I stayed in. I was a little surprised to find a red thong I didn't recognise behind one of the prints on the wall, but it was amusing so I left it there...

  • 5
    « Great Wifi »

I usually review hotels by their WIFI and this hotel had a consistent, strong signal throughout. Having stayed at Best Western hotels throughout the US for business, I chose this one hoping the WIFI would be good and was glad it was. The hotel though is better than a standard American one with a sauna service and excellent restaurant.

    5
« Great service and modern hotel! »

The staff was very friendly and accommodating! They stored our luggage for 2 days before we were guests at the hotel. The rooms were very modern, new and clean. I highly recommend this hotel! The hotel was luxurious, the breakfast was yummy and the location was very central.

    3
« Comfortable Hotel, Great Central Location »

The plus point was the location in the centre of Sofia just of Vitosha Boulevard. Within walking distance of most places of interest. The hotel itself was fairly modern and the rooms were a nice size, clean, and had all the modern amenities required. The bathroom was also very clean and modern with a great shower. Our safe didn't work, but on notifying reception they changed this straight away. Breakfast was also good with a nice selection of food. On the negative side, we booked and paid for two double rooms via expedia. On arrival we were told we had only paid for one person to stay in a two person room and were made to pay extra for the second person in both rooms. I would stay at this hotel again, but I would check the booking carefully. The hotel is nice, but not high end. Wifi in the rooms was free, but a bit of a hassle to get working

    4
« Great location and comfortable stay »

This hotel is located just off the main shopping street and offers comfortable rooms. We stayed 2 nights and our room was on the first floor. Check-in was quick and staff very friendly and helpful, giving us a very useful map of the city. The room itself was spacious with a comfortable bed (although it was very low). The bathroom was large, with a powerful shower. There was tea and coffee provided and good air-conditioning. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food. We had no problems with noise despite facing the street. Altogether it was a very enjoyable stay!

    5
    « High standard »

Stayed for a long weekend with my sisters in a triple room. The room was very spacious with all the luxuries and amenities of a five star hotel. Bath robes, slippers, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities made our stay so comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a choice for all tastes. The staff were very polite and helpful and couldn't do enough for us, a special mention to Alex who greeted us every morning with a beautiful smile. Would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to stay in the city centre.

    « Top location & great service »

Lovely stay at the heart of Sofia, I can only recommend the hotel. Could enjoy an upgrade, as the hotel was fully booked. Absolutely efficient reception and bell boys, as well as flawless breakfast service.

    « A surprise package »

Very unlike a Best Western property. Far superior quality , rooms well appointed, all aminities , rooms comfortable. Location superb. Staff friendly. Breakfast good.Rooms very quite. Beds very comfortable

    5
« Great location and incredible breakfast »

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and service of the hotel. It was just a few seconds walk to the famous shopping street and the start of the free walking tour. The hotel is located right off a side street from the busy hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were so helpful in finding a place to eat late at night and a tour that met our needs.

« We loved that hotel »

We stayed in this hotel a weekend on may. The stuff were very helpfull, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is great, the location is very good.vitosha street is 2 minutes walk.you can find shops, cafes, restaurants.

    3
    « Convenient Location »

One of the best things about this hotel is its proximity to Vitosha Boulevard. Only a few minutes walk away. The room always seemed to be well cleaned each day. The breakfast selection was quite extensive, even offering french fries. The staff were always helpful and polite at the front desk and in the restaurant. A few of negatives. The bed was unusually low and also seemed to be usually soft. Did not make for a good night's sleep. Don't think I have ever had a back ache from a hotel bed before and I have slept in quite a few. Also when checking out I was asked if I had anything from the mini-bar. I wasn't even aware there was one. Apparently it is hidden in the wardrobe. Maybe there is something in the room that says this but I did not see it. If you want faster Internet you have to pay to upgrade the speed. I know other hotels do this too but the practice seems to be less common in more recent times. The walls aren't very sound proof either. Could hear doors opening and closing in the early hours of the morning. Could easily get another star or two of these issues were addressed.

    « Searching in Sofia. »

As avid Geocachers we decided to visit Sofia. Flight sorted and Hotel booked we planned a long weekend trip. We found the best way to get to the city was via the metro. On arrival at Sofia's terminal 1 you only need to exit the terminal building and turn right in less than 50 yards is the shuttle bus that takes you the 1.5 mile or so to terminal 2 where you can board the Metro. You need to buy a ticket either from the machine or if your lucky from the maned ticket booth you can not enter the platform without a ticket. The cost to the city is 1 Lev (approx 50p) (Tip present the ticket to the access gate with your left hand and the gate will open in front of you) If you travel by bus do not forget to validate your ticket as you can be fined for not doing so. Once you have your ticket obtainable from the driver look for the yellow punches on the side walls of the bus. There will be a few on then front and back. To validate put your ticket in the punch and push the extended metal leaver up. Your ticket will now have a hole in it and is validated. Off the Metro we headed for our Hotel we were staying at the Best Western Premier Thracia Hotel. On check in we were informed by the front desk that our room was unavailable however we were allocated a lovely room which had a complimentary bottle of wine and some fresh fruit. How nice. Our room included breakfast which was plentiful with both Hot and Cold options The hotel was ideally placed for as as Geocachers. We would recommend this Hotel to our family and friends.

    « great location /great staff »

Super hotel in a great location in the centre of town, modern clean. Good buffet breakfast consistently replenished. Staff are really friendly and happy. Big beds and modern bathrooms. Had a problem with the TV - sorted in under an hour and in holiday time! Would recommend highly.

« Perfect Hotel for business »

Staff is wonderful, food is perfect, the bed was excellent and has an overall warm sensation in it. The hotel is a walking distance from most of the attractions and shopping places. The best part is that you can order a chauffer at the Reception - NEAT!

    4
« Great hotel but no double beds »

Clean, comfortable room. WiFi worked. Great breakfast. Just a few minutes walk from the main pedestrianised area for shopping and restaurants. Only complaint was that all rooms seemed to have twin beds rather than double beds. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    4
« Fab hotel in a great location »

Staff were brilliant, Huge room, comfortable bed, outstanding value for money. The hotel is literally a two minute wall from a major shopping street which also has a variety of bars and restaurants. The hotel has its own chauffer service

    4
« Good hotel in a good location »

Friendly staff, spacious room, well positioned for the center of town, excellent breakfast, good nights sleep, fast wi-fi - not sure there is much to complain about! Nothing to do with the hotel at all, but watch out for those cheating taxi drivers - best sticking exclusively with OK Taxis as they did not rip me off.

    5
« Great location, nice rooms, good service, great full breakfast buffet included »

I stayed with family. We all had a very pleasant stay. Everything was fine. It is a smaller boutique hotel in the dead center of the city. Like it often happens with such hotels in Europe - yes it is a smaller/tighter building. But the rooms are quite a decent size and provide more than enough space for a few days of urban stay. The location and convenience of this hotel is everything.

    4
« excellent value, superb location »

I stayed for three nights at the BW Thracia, and found it a very good base for Sofia sightseeing. The hotel is 2 blocks away from Vitosha Blvd, the main shopping/dining/people watching street, but far enough away to not have constant noise and mayhem from the same street. (Worth considering, especially at the weekend) This location is also very close to the main tourist 'must sees' such as the Alexander Nevsky cathedral, Borisova Gardens, etc- all are an easy walk away from the hotel. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but so many are close by that this is no problem. A full breakfast is served each morning in the breakfast room, and this was very good on each occasion. There is a small bar in the lobby, but again, there is no shortage of options elsewhere. The room was comfortable, clean and functional, good bathroom, and the staff were friendly and capable. All in all- very good value, unbearable location for the price. *tips - when leaving room for the day, always put the 'clean room' sign on the door, or the cleaners will likely only clean it much later in the day. - rooms at the front of the hotel are subject to much more street noise, though the sound proofing is ok- if sensitive to this, choose one set further back. -the hotel will arrange taxis with reputable company, to the airport (around 15lv cost) , and elsewhere

« good stay, perfect location »

Traveled with 2 more friends 07/04/2016. Hotel's location is realy good, walking distance (5min) to main street and sofia's city center sites (15min). The room was VERY clean, excellent shower, AirCon work just fine, regarding sleep quality, two of us had good nights, third friend said matress was soft for him. Breakfast wasnt as fancy as at other places, but it was just fine! good variety of everything. Staff of hotel were helpfull and welcoming, they assist with every question. The only disadvantage i can think about is the fact, that there isnt a pool/spa area in the hotel, but it's not critical. overall, enjoyed staying at the hotel, would come back again.

    « A great hotel »

A very good hotel.Very clean, luxury room and bathroom.Everything that is expected from a 4* hotel are provided. The best location also, in the middle of everything. Very helpful and friendly stuff in the front desk. The only disadvantage (that's why I give 4 and not 5*) was the breakfast which was really poor.

    « Average Hotel »

Three of us stayed in two separate suites during December, 2015. None of us were greatly impressed. You can get a good room for a good price throughout Bulgaria so of course any complaints need to take that into account. Nevertheless, we thought this hotel was just "average". The elevator made a lot of clunking noises that were heard in the room adjacent to the elevator. Also, jeers to Dimitir at the front desk who forgot to call us a taxi to the airport and then tried really hard to blame everyone except himself.

    « Wonderful hotel »

Room wasn't quite ready, so I was upgraded to a huge room. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast was amazing. Wish I could have stayed longer. Will definitely return.

    « Excelent hotel. »

I stay only 1 night because of business trip. The room which I stay was very big and very nice. The price was very good. I really enjoy the breakfast with eggs, bacon and cheese rolls. The hotel arrange transportation to airport with their one vehicle, a very big and comfortable SUV, in very good price. The location in the center of Sofia gave me the opportunity to see a different view of Sofia.

    « Great location »

Great location and large well equipped room. Breakfast good and overall very good value stay. Only downside as loads of people have said was that the hotel was way too hot. Would certainly recommend to others as a great place to explore the city from.

« Weekend trip to Sofia »

Prime location just off the main shopping street. The room was surprisingly large, well equipped, clean and quiet. Breakfast of good standard. The staff is young but very helpful, a little problem with English in some cases. All in all to be recommended without reservation. One fringe benefit of this hotel is a quite good restaurant next doors serving genuine Bulgarian food an wines.

« So hot in this hotel!!! »

Great location, lovely varied breakfast, plus close to shops and everything you need. There is a good Irish pub round the back. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast staff always greeted you with a smile. Problem is it is so hot in the rooms, you can't turn the heating down! Windows hardly open so your always uncomfortable, staff say they have no control and can't do anything. If this was sorted they would have got more stars.

    4
    « Very good option »

    « Great location »

Great location, spatious clean rooms and good, quick service. The breakfast is good, with many options, great espresso (with warm milk aside!) and friendly staff. I would suggest they change their background music though, a more serene playlist would be appreciated in the early morning.

« Award winning - Excellent location and amenities »

Stayed for a night so we could catch a morning flight from Sofia Airport. We drove to the hotel and the clerk immediately arranged for our car to be parked. There is an underground parking which costs €10/day. The hotel is located 2' walk from Vitosha Boulevard which has many shops and cafes and leads to the Nevski Church. Our check in was fast and the staff efficient and friendly. Our luggage was taken to the room and we were pleased to find that we were given 801 - one of their two top floor rooms, which have a king size bed and a sofa bed (we were travelling as a family of two adults and one 6y old). There are complimentary coffee, tea and water in the room and downstairs in the lobby. The room was spotless and the bathroom superb, exactly as per the photos. Cannot fault the room. The street is also very quiet. Recommended hotel and well worth their multiple awards.

    3
« Well located hotel close to Vitosha Blv »

BEST WESTERN PREMIER Thracia Hotel is located close to Vitosha Blv which is the main boulevard in Sofia with all kind of shops, coffees and restaurants. The room was clean, good breakfast and good service. What you should mind is that they offer very poor internet connection. If you need to have normal internet connection than you have to pay extra. When going out in the hallway of the first floor you could feel a special smell.

« Enjoy your stay, but check your bill »

Nice hotel , medium size, nice big comfy and clean rooms, very well located inthe heart of Sofia, next to everything you need while on a business or pleasure trip to Sofia. Breakfast is OK, better than the avarage other 4 stars in Europe. Having saying all that, check your bill upon checkout. It is known in some East European hotels, and here was a "good" example, that they add something to your bill, hoping you will not notice. In my case, they added an alcoholic drink from the minibar, the same minibar I never even opened..... When I said I did not touch it even, they immediatly took it off the bill..... So fast, it was like they were prepared for it.... But to be honest, it was the only minus in this hotel, so yes, I do recommend staying there. ( and give them the beneffit of the dought that maybe, afterall, it was an honest mistake with my bill).

    « Great Location »

Really close to the city center (1 min walk), all the attraction are at a walking distance. The breakfast is fantastic.Very helpful staff (a special thank to Kirill for his kindness) I strongly suggest this hotel.

    « good location downtown »

the hotel is very small, nestled between old buildings, but the room was amazingly big, very spacious, with king size bed and little sitting room. I felt sick and had a very resting sleep, no sounds from outside. The breakfast room is also quite small, but well furnished, the waitress very polite and available to satisfy my requests in terms of food. well done. try the local restaurant nearby, very nice food.

« Excellent value for a cheap weekend »

I was part of a group of 10 sharing 5 twin rooms. Good central location - very handy for walking almost anywhere in central Sofia. Staff were excellent - friendly, informative and helpful - all spoke English and were willing to converse when time allowed. My room was a good size, as was the bathroom - with a good shower. Breakfast room was bright and clean with a good selection of breakfast items. If I had to pick fault, I would say that the hotel was generally a little too warm for my comfort, and the breakfast items that were supposed to be hot weren't particularly so. That said, for the price we paid, I thought it was fantastic value and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to others looking for a cheap weekend.

« Clean, comfortable and convenient »

Stayed here with my husband and sister on vacation. The staff was polite and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was surprisingly good. They even had little banitsas! We would definitely stay there again.

« "Service" made this hotel 5 star rating »

This Best Western has absolutely the best location possible in downtown Sofia only a block away from the pedestrian Vitosha street. Delicious and inexpensive restaurants line this street and are only a block or two away. Immediately next to this hotel is a Bulgarian food establishment that was only so-so the night we visited and a bit more expensive that those places on Vitosha street. I visited the best western Thracia hotel during an unseasonably warm period in November when the "municipality" had already turned off the cooling ability and only allowed heat. The rooms were quite oppressively warm. I brought my concerns to Petar at the reception counter and he advised the manager Asen who upgraded me to the rooftop suite that had a beautiful view of the city along with two doors that allowed cooling at night. Kudos to both Petar and Asen for their great service to the customer. Otherwise the hotel was clean, the free wifi worked well (but a bit slow) and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfasts were also quite varied in material and very sufficient. My trip to Sofia was cut short by the luftansa strike so I had to trim my stay at the hotel by a night and once again the staff worked with me without question to help me out. Parking was available under the hotel for about 8 euros per night This hotel is in an outstanding location and the staff rises to the occasion to help out its customers. Recommend it 100%!

    « Fantastic location »

I would have given this 3 stars, but for the amazing location. I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that you wont do better then this, in terms of location while visiting Sofia. So what's wrong with it? My room was too hot (6th floor). It was November and fairly chilly outside but my room was like a sweat box, and air conditioning on or off or turned up or turned down, changed nothing. It was OK at night, but I wanted to get out of that room as soon as possible during the day. Also (minor) the hotel bar, is just a small hotel lobby which happens to be furnished with a drinks bar. It is not a true hotel bar. Finally, also minor, the bath robe that came with the room, was ripped on the pocket and the belt rings were ripped. If you owned it, you'd have thrown it out. No big deal but it shouldn't be so very obvious that it has been used so many times. Oh, one more thing, the price of the laundry service is shocking. I had to recycle my clothes, I could not justify the, frankly, extortionate rates. I'm starting to wonder is a 4 star rating generous?? hmm. well the location is awesome and the place is clean, and the staff are friendly.

« Excellent Central Sofia Location »

We spent four nights at the Thracia upon our arrival in Sofia in July and two more after finishing up our Eastern Europe road trip. The location is excellent for exploring central Sofia. The staff were professional and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, although the lighting was a little overwhelming and annoyingly bright. No on site restaurant, but a very good breakfast buffet is available. There is an excellent Bulgarian restaurant right next door.

« Great location, great staff »

Small and cozy hotel, 1 min walk from Vitosha street. Comfortable room and very quiet for the city center. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My flight next day was late in the evening, I had a chance to check out in the afternoon without paying extra. Breakfast choice needs a little more variety, though buffet was refilled with fresh food all the time

    « Just perfect »

I have stayed here for few night. Place is in the center of Sofia, close to all sightseeing, shopping street and bars or restaurants. It was clean and tidy. Staff members very friendly and helpful. The man in reception Liudmil (not sure if I wrote it correctly), was very nice, smiley, very helpful. Rooms are good size, with comfy beds and a lot of lighting. Everything very clean. You can't hear anything from other rooms so sleep was deep :) Loved it!

« Excellent location, small and cozy hotel on a quiet street. »

The hotel is modern but unobtrusive, blending in well with the street scene. The reception area is quite large and well laid out with a large revolving door, brighly lit and with a good view of the street. Reception staff was generally friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent, being on a quiet, leafy street a few minutes walk from Vitosha Boulevard, the main pedestrian mall in Sofia, and about 15 minutes walk from the historic center and main attractions. There is an excellent Bulgarian restaurant just next door, a money exchange nearby and a mini market across the road. Rooms: My room was modern and clean, thickly carpeted and had a cozy atmosphere with free wifi, in room safe, kettle, TV, etc and a modern, clean bathroom. You don't mind spending some time in some hotel rooms and this was one of them. Breakfast was served in a large but comfortable room, with a good spread and cheerful, prompt and friendly service. All in, this hotel is a wonderful place to stay in while in Sofia - its location, general sense of friendliness, cleanliness and overall maintenance make it a smart choice.

« Not bad rooms, terrible wifi »

Ok first of all rooms. They are quite spacious and clean I really appreciated a bit harder bed, I guess that this one was one from best I tried in hotels. Also bathroom was well equipped and clean, on the wall was clearly visible that they added heating to the bathroom later so you can see where the cable is. This brings no problem with functionality but it does not look well. Breakfast was not bad at all, almost all food I tried was tasty, but I was missing more fruits and vegetables. Espresso was average. Now the worst thing about this hotel is wifi, the free version cannot be used for anything, it is basically rip-off and they try to force you to buy paid one. I felt really cheated as part of our company deal was working wifi and this one was not usable even for e-mail sending. In other words if you need good internet, choose different hotel.

    « Night stay »

Far from 4 star hotel in terms of quality of the rooms. Old furniture, no stile. Location is very good, near by the center of the city, walking area. Bell boy is a bit over doing his job, trying to help even if you tell that you don't need. Breakfast is average.

    « Love this hotel »

Hotel sits in a quiet but central location (close to pedestrian street with plenty of restaurants and shopping). Small lobby but immediately inviting when you go in. The rooms are modern and comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Stayed here at the last leg of our tour of Romania and Bulgaria and it was one of the best hotels we stayed in on the tour. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

    « Pleasant hotel »

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and find it very pleasant. It's fantastically located in Sofia and within walking distance of amazing eateries, shops and attractions. The breakfast is very good. The rooms are comfortable and I especially love the rain showers in the bathrooms. The staff are all very pleasant, friendly and helpful.

« Great Hotel, close to city centre »

Friendly and helpful staff, good location on a quiet street but easy walking distance to city centre. Large room, comfortable bed and nice selection for breakfast. Free WiFi also good throughout hotel and lounge areas. No restaurant but with the main street only a few hundred metres away there are plenty of places to find to eat on an evening.

« Good hotel but disapointing »

The hotel is very nice and close to Vitosha bvd. Breakfast is ok and staff is very kind and polite , however we left the hotel very early in the morning around 3.30 am , the day before we asked for breakfast box to be made to take with us and of course we asked for wake up call. We were not called by the wake up call neither the breakfast box was ready. The person in the reception appologized and suggested to make it on that moment thing that will cause a delay of at least 20 minutes so we decided to leave the hotel on schedule to reach the airport. It was really disapointing at the end of the stay.

    « Good, decent hotel »

The best part of the hotel is its central location. So if you are there for a weekend, it's great! The Main Street (Ski Vitosha) is just 3-5 min walk away so it's very convenient. We had taken a superior room which is quite large! The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. We had breakfast included in our stay which was ok. The toaster was broken and the yogurt didn't taste too great but apart from that, it was fine. The staff was courteous and helped in whatever way they could.
