« Out of town hotel »

Its clean, quiet and quite close to the airport so ideal for a short stopover before carrying on with your journey. The room we were given was huge and had a balcony. There are coffee facilities in the room and a mini bar. It has an outdoor swimming pool if you wish to make use of it, a dance studio and a sky bar on the top floor. Breakfast was very good, typical continental, but also mushrooms, local sausage and scrambled eggs. You can do yourself some toast too. The underground parking that is provided is a little tight in places but ok, you can also park in the street outside if you find a spot. Staff were very friendly.

    « Business Hotel »

I stayed 2 nights in June for business. The hotel have a shuttle service to/for the airport and this is a good facility. The location in not near the city center so you need to take the taxi. It is cheap (about 3-4Euros). The bus stop is near the hotel and there a some lines to the center. The staff is quite helpful. The buffet breakfast is average and it is served in the garden. The area is not pleasant for a walking during the night so I cannot suggest this hotel for families. The room was very spacious and clean even if the bathroom was very essential.

    « Holiday/business trip »

Good hotel I was very impressed with the size of the rooms and balcony, small but nice clean pool and great jacuzzi. Hotel staff friendly we had breakfast on the pool patio very nice indeed,we are returning to the hotel on our way home and looking forward to our stay. I can't understand the negative reviews on here they don't sound like the hotel I stayed in.

    « Average »

After a third visit in this hotel I can update a little bit my previous review. Globally this remains a convenient and acceptable hotel if you have to do in this part of the city. As said by many it is neither close from the center nor from the airport but in the middle and easily reachable. The rooms are unusually large and with a a balcony, which is rather pleasant. Breakfast is not bad for the area. The overall state of the hotel is however not improving and it really starts to feel a bit dated, the 4 stars on the front door shine really pale?. the staff is not the most friendly either. The price remains however reasonable which make it acceptable but if you're looking for some savings, the cheap hotels in the same street are not that bad and probably not significantly worse!

« Very good hotel for Sofia travellers »

We booked studio with balcony it has 2 rooms 2 beds 2 toilets 2 TV and 2 big balcony to see Sofia and Vitosha mountain, The room was spacious and has water boiler, mini bar and all what the family need. The reception staff "Margerita" and waiter "Vladimir" and the rest of the staff were so helpful and proactive. The hotel is located in a quite area and surrounded by 24/7 supermarkets, bus station, taxi spot, bars and many restaurants. Swimming pool was small but nice and they provide towels on the pool, sun beds are available and comfortable Internet was fast and reliable, l think l made the right deception to book this hotel and l recommend it for families for sure. The Bad news: Well, we surprised that the hotel stopped providing some facilities although they are mentioned in like the massage, the night club and the Gym is for ladies only, so all these facilities are not available any more. Lady managing the gym wasn't welcoming the guest who like to use the fitness equipment, maybe she rented the gym from the hotel, lm not sure about it. Breakfast was tasty but cold, coffee is cold too, however there is a microwave to heat them up by self server

    « Business trip »

Room was not clean, the mattresses are not too comfortable, and bathroom has a funny smell. I left with conjunctivitis so I think this tells all. Internet connection is very low, breakfast poor. Very disappointing per all! I will not return.

    « Nice rooms »

The hotel is located between airport and city center, both not really in walking distance but reachable by public transport or the cheap taxis. The rooms are surprisingly big and even have balconies. Unfortunately the sky bar was closed in the evening. The pool is tiny but who goes for a sea holiday to a city ))). Breakfast is ok, on the terrace behind the hotel, at the fresh air - disturbed only by a waitress who needs a shower.

« Cheap and cheerful OK room, shame about the food.... »

Have stayed here twice now and that's enough. The rooms are nice if a little dated, but clean. It's far enough out to be quietish (if that's what you want), but apart from that it's not got a lot going for it. I've eaten once in the restaurant and that was enough. I had the erquivalent of steak, and it just awful. Chewy and gristly. The sauce was not hot, and the vegetables bland. It tasted as though the whole lot had just been warmed up from a freezer (which I suspect it was). The breakfast is even worse - At least for a Brit. Nothing hot worth eating except toast, with Facon, hot dogs and lumpy scrambled eggs. Given how cheap food is, and what good quality you can get, the hotel is really disappointing. I eat in the Italian restaurant round the corner, and considering that I had to pay for that, but could have expensed the hotel, that says it all really. The sky bar (albeit not at the weekend) was very quiet, but a good space. Club music playing, and a very friendly barmaid. The wifi is really inconsistent. With nodes apparently on all floors, it should be great, but whether they work is hit and miss. Overall, I think it's well intentioned, but I won't be staying there again. Closer to Vitosha Boulevard and extra choices in entertainment and food will be better.

We booked this hotel because it had a pool &gym- gym was rubbish &other pool was filthy and unusable. Breakfast was edible but zero atmosphere. Rooms were ok, but balcony was dirty, and coffee/toiletries etc were not restocked by cleaners each day. Photos are very misleading. Unfriendly staff, and a card machine that didn't work topped it off!

« An Oasis in the hustle-bustle of Downtown Sofia »

I've frequented this hotel a couple of times and enjoyed my stays immensely. The rooms have been luxurious, and I especially enjoyed the garden with the swimming pool. Situated ca 10 minutes from the airport and 5-10 minutes to downtown Sofia, it combines the advantages of securing a quick ride to your flight when you leave and being close to any appointment you may have. I also found it a convenient place to invite contacts for meetings with a great bar, splendid garden and a decent restaurant. Unfortunately the restaurant doesn't operate in weekends, also I stayed over holidays, when it was closed, so I cannot comment specifically on the cuisine, except that the breakfast buffets were great. The service in the reception - especially from Mr. Stanislav - was impeccable and all knew English well. The hotel has a underground free parking as well as a fitness centre and sauna for guests of the hotel. Right around the corner was a decent supermarket and a couple of good restaurants (one Italian and one specializing on game and Bulgarian specialities, with a lovely beer garden), and walk one more minute and you're at the Ploshtad Iztok, with any and all kind of shop or service you might need as a tourist. All in all, probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Sofia, and with reasonably prices.

    « Not so good »

The room has a large balcony from which you can see the mountains. The bathroom is also generous, with enough space. I think these are the only pros that we have found. All finishing touches are tacky and cheap: from the clock on the wall, the decoration from the bedside, the finishing of the bathroom and the sticker inside the elevators. There is no outlet near the bed so if you want to work with the laptop in your arms, you must ask for an extension cord. The receptionist from the first night did not even know they have an extension cord. In this search process of outlets I have found that behind the nightstands the dust has not been vacuumed for about a year. The maid forgot to refill the minibar so the next day I was charged again for the consumption of the previous day. Ventilation was noisy. I ordered a beer and the pint at the bar was chipped. I stayed four nights and the bedding was not changed. The towels were changed daily but these days I noticed: a stained towel, a towel that I have not had the courage to use it because it had a questionable color and one with a hole in it.

« Good location, nice stay, perfect sky bar! »

Nice and clean rooms, well furnished with solid curtains, LED TV, WiFi, big mirror. Also have good bathroom with bathtub. Best thing that I liked was the Sky Bar - bar at the top floor with good club music and nice view. Also important plus is the underground garage.

    « Comfort »

We visited the hotel at the end of February. The best part about it is the spacious rooms and balconies! The place offers perfect comfort and good enough restaurant. If you are coming to Sofia and need to stay close to the airport and at the same time close to centre i highly recommend it

    « Nice »

My stay at this hotel was good.... The breakfast is a buffet adn very rich. For the suumer i want to go again to enjoy the swiming pool which looks pretty good in the summer garden rejoicing of trees.

    « Nice place »

good choice for my stay .?he price of the room is a good restaurant prices are cheap and The service is good..The room is clean and big Tv is 3d .The location is close to Business Park Sofia would recommend it to all my colleagues.

« Good hotel and good price »

The location of the hotel is good close to the center and is located on a street that is quiet. After I circled Sofia to see a way back and resting well at the hotel. The staff is friendly and smiling. The rooms are clean and good looking.

« Worst hotel experience in Sofia (3 weeks) »

Hotel is not bad. When I arrive the first day the room wasn't clean (sugar all over the floor), I had holes in my pillows, wifi not working. After 3 days, the floor continued with sugar, holes in the pillows, etc. I had to request for someone from the staff team to see the room and clean it. Breakfast was outside in the rain, not many options to choose, old dry bread, old cakes... One night I asked for dinner in the room and the lettuce was rotten! I was on the 6th floor under the sky bar and on a Monday at 2 AM I couldn't sleep because the music was extremely loud, I called the reception and no one answered I had to go to the bar and ask the them to lower the volume. A few minutes later I had the owner of the bar knocking at my door threatening me because she thought I called the police. A week after I was with a friend entering the hotel and the owner and a guy with her threatened us again this time they almost started a fight... I had to ask my friend to talk with the manager (the manager doesn't speak english) to try to solve the issue. He never did anything to compensate me or spoke with the guys from the sky bar. I really felt unsafe.

« Be careful with the Sky Bar -- this is a tourist-trap of the worst kind »

Hotel is not bad; it could use a bit of refreshing, but nothing bad to say about it overall... Breakfast buffet -- super -- especially in comparison with other hotels in the area. You have meat / cheese / eggs / vegetables / sweets. Definitely a plus. SKY BAR -- stay away. Prices are "from the SKY". Girls ready to join you to have you open a bottle of bubbly, only for you to find out that it is about 55 euro for such bottle... Hotel bar is charging entry fee... maybe this is because it was to be "live music" -- I did not wait; finished my whiskey and disappeared.... In summary -- stay overnight, have a good breakfast, but for evening fun -- go some place else!

    « Terrible! »

We stayed at one of the two bedroom apartments to the hotel. Very dirty, it seemed no one had cleaned the apartment. The carpets and furniture were very dirty, the fridge was never cleaned and was very mouldy. It was the most disgusting place I have stayed in. There is no excuse if a place is no clean regardless of the star rating. This was meant to be a four star accommodation, what a shame! It happens a lot in Bulgaria, not sure who rates the hotels there but most of the time these are overrated.

    « A pleasant one night stay. »

Overall I was pleased with the hotel. The staff were helpful and pleasant and spoke English. The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable and underground secure parking was included in the room price. Although breakfast was included I can not comment, as I was not feeling well and passed on breakfast. Free WiFi was fast.

« This hotel has everything going for it! »

Flew into Sofia airport and wanted to stay somewhere not to far away from the Airport for one night before setting off the next day for a trip round Bulgaria. 20 min drive to hotel. Everything is absolutely spot-on. Clean, tidy, friendly stuff, location, comfort, breakfast, wifi... Very good restaurant as well. Had dinner every night while staying in hotel. The best stay in Sofia on all our travels. This hotel has everything going for it: good location, great rooms, helpful and courteous stuff.

« Shame on Best Western Hotel Group »

We had a relatively pleasant 13 night stay in August 2015. Whilst I agree with some of the negative comments already posted, I initially believe the hotel represented reasonable value for money notwithstanding some of the obvious shortcomings. HOWEVER, I am compelled to write my first ever trip advisor review, based on the appalling treatment experienced whilst trying to checkout at the end of the stay. Having been presented with an bill which included over £60 of telephone calls to 4 different numbers, in a one hour time slot, in the middle of of our stay, I politely pointed out that this was an error and we had most certainly not used the phone in the room. The receptionist immediately looked very worried that I had noticed this inclusion but reluctantly phoned 'the manager'. Speaking in Bulgarian, she appeared to be told in no uncertain terms that we must be responsible & must pay the bill in full! When I politely refused and pointed out there had been a mistake, she called 'the manager' once more and appeared to be told that the money would have to come out of her salary if she did not manage to get us to pay! I immediately asked to speak to the manager but he, unsurprisingly, was not available. Faced with a stalemate, the receptionist eventually called the manager again & this time he had apparently checked that no-one had entered our room that day & he stated that we therefore cannot deny that we had made the calls! With tempers fraying, a taxi waiting outside, an audience gathering in reception and over 30 minutes having passed......the manager eventually appeared only to firstly suggest that I ask my wife or my son to admit they had made the calls, then threaten to call the police if we did not pay!! He then disappeared only to call reception again to advise that he had spoken to the telephone company and confirmed we had definitely made the calls. With the level of intimidation, humiliation and confrontation now escalating, 'the manager' refused to return to reception as he was now 'in a meeting'. With a continuing stalemate and a receptionist and my wife close to tears, I insisted that we must leave immediately but that I would sign a visa debit consent form to allow them to debit my credit card with the cost of the calls once explicit proof had been provided that we had made the calls!! We then left, totally disgusted, after close to an hour of humiliation in front of numerous guests, with a taxi bill 3x the normal cost and running very late for our impending flight. A one line text was then received from the hotel, 3 days later, to say there was an error on their system and our credit card was would not be charged! When I then tried to complain to Best Western Customer Services, in a manner similar to the above, I simply received the usual bland responses thanking me for my comments, asking me to provide evidence that I was going to be charged for the calls and ultimately advising that my feedback will be provided to their Quality Assurance Team. No sincere apology, no acknowledgement of the stress, intimidation and humiliation and certainly no compassion or contrition. When I pointed out their further failings and advised that I would now chose not to stay with any part of the Best Western Hotel Group in the future........I was then offered a £50 voucher as a discount off my next stay! Based on our experience, I would advise you to please take care and exercise caution if you ever choose to book with this hotel. Shame on you Best Western Hotel Group.

    « 4 stars??! Not sure »

I cannot say we had a bad experience, but I was definitely expecting more. The hotel was nothing like the pictures, the breakfast is not good, was even trying hard to find me a clean cup. The toilet was good and clean, but the mattress was pretty uncomfortable. And the free-wifi was being disconnected every single minute. They have a friendly staff, but definitely need to improve.

« Big let down!!! Do not stay here!!!! »

Never normally write a review, but dont want anyones trip ruined by a rubbish hotel like ours was!! Worst hotel we've stayed in! Unhelpful and rude staff. Pictures nothing like hotel! Unsafe feel to the area. Room was nice, but rest of hotel stank and felt very unclean. Extremely poor quality of food, and breakfast was a joke! Booked as close to airport and they advertise airport transfers, what they dont say is that they dont like to book these for you, and actually tell you to get a taxi yourself! Decided to stay at Ibis when flying home - was excellent!! perfect room, staff, great food, free transfers

    « disapointing »

Hotel was fine but not at all what I had expected based on its web page and reviews. The room was small and quiet shabby with two small narrow single beds. Service was limited and breakfast did not vary over the time we stayed. The swimming pool was small, only suitable for young children. The area was residential and quiet with a supermarket conveniently placed around the corner from the hotel. If you do not speak Bulgarian ask at hotel reception to order taxis,

« Toilet very smelly, rooms smelly, rugs dirty, beds need replacing. »

we stayed in one of their apartments with access from the side. Generally communal areas and apartment looks ok but the smell especially in the toilet is unbearable, the rest of the apartment also smells and just feels very unclean. Rooms definitely need. thorough cleaning and beds and some other items need replacing.
