    « Love It »

Great place to stay. Of course my favorite part is the free massage chairs. Very relaxing to end a day or even start out the day. Clean rooms and good breakfast. Also free arcade games to play. Fresh cookies

    « Piss Poor Management »

see first note on start of review. Manager will lie about reservation to fit his needs. Was told by manager during different stay that no weekend rooms were available. Co-worker called and was able to book room for the weekend.

    « Stayed with a wedding block »

Great hotel. We spent a lot of time together in the lobby/breakfast area. I'm glad they allowed us to do this! They were very accommodating!!! My only complaint was the bed. I felt like we were on a boat if any of us moved!

« Worth staying here from Minneapolis !!! »

Recently stated here with several rooms -for a 7 day stay...at first I thought it was too far from downtown but I quickly forgot about that! The hotel has a very comfortable feel about it. They make chocolate chip cookies everyday for the guests!! The rooms are good size and maybe a little older -however they were well kept and bathrooms were roomy and clean. Lots of pillows, flat screen TVs with so many channels! The housekeepers were nice and they had big, fluffy towels that were plentiful! A really large-indoor, salt water pool! Everyone loved that and the hot tub was a good one! They had dozens of old video machines stead around the motel and they were all free!! Air hockey by the pool. 4 different guest computers near the lobby also. The best was several of those big, massage chairs like they have in malls--some were even in a dimly lit room for relaxation!!! These were also free/spent extra time in those!!! Free lemon water also!!! The front desk staff was always asking if you needed anything or if everything was ok...the GM (Nick) did an excellent job of accommodating our group right as the Ryder Cup ended and they were running pretty full...Tim,Cheryl, especially were great! Pet friendly with really good attitude towards people's pets! I'd go back......good area.

« Convenient location for Renaissance »

This hotel was close to the Renaissance and they provided a free shuttle. We enjoyed the massage chairs, pinball machine, and free breakfast. Everything in the room was in excellent working order. One of our travelers had a problem with the train noise, but the rest of us slept through it, even my husband who is and insomniac!

    « Excellent Customer Service »

Howard was awesome in customer service and greeted me with open arms. When you enter any place of business you want that home warm feeling as if you are welcome. Howard did just that and was able to multi task as customer were arriving and still manage to answer the phone and peoples questions. The best part was he keep calm and with a smile.. Thanks Howard for all you do to make it a home environment.

    « A Mixed Review »

Front staff were attentive and very helpful. The room was clean, nicely appointed, lots of towels, a coffee/tea maker, great TV, very comfortable bed. Very pleased with the room! Breakfast was nice though the eggs tasted like egg substitute. The entry and breakfast room need a re-do. Droopy half dead flowers, overcrowded breakfast room with massage chairs squeezed in. It gave a negative first impression. Then the hallways on the main floor had doors open to the cleaning, laundry, and tool areas. It came across as cluttered and unappealing. New Plants, no mass chairs in the breakfast room, and closed doors to work areas would go a long way towards making this a nicer experience. We also had brown water coming from the tap, which management called about and gave us bottled water for. Our toilet handle broke off requiring us to open the top and manually flush. A partial refund would have been nice. It was not offered

« Friendly Staff and Clean Rooms »

Convenient for business in the southern metro. The staff is always friendly. Waffles are good and breakfast is fresh with a decent variety of items. The rooms are clean, but sometimes a bit dated. Pool area is nice, but I have never used it.

We loved the added bonus of the massage chairs! And the free games for the kids was a perfect touch! I also liked the continental breakfast with biscuits and gravy, I will have to bring my husband and kids the next time we travel in that area!

« Very clean, friendly helpful staff »

Good place to stay. Several places to eat are close by. They had to keep resetting our door card and this included many other guests so not sure what that was about. Very clean, comfortable rooms. Beds were a little hard but OK. Great breakfast with lots of variety. The product was kept fresh by staff.

« Shuttle to the Renaissance Festival »

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly/helpful. There are free arcade video games around the hotel. There are free massage chairs, a pool, good continental breakfast. Good Chinese Food across the street.

    4
« Nice staff, basic facilities »

Not a fancy hotel, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast had toast, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, bananas, juice and more. The games scattered around and the massage chairs in the breakfast area are all FREE! There is a shuttle that takes you right to Renaissance Fair front gate and picks you up at the end of the day.

    « Love the pool! »

We have stayed at this hotel for over 20 years. Always take good care of us! Love the "green" pool! Great experience overall! Close to our venue, great Mexican restaurant around the corner and 2 parks close to take the kids. Nice community also.

« Favorite Motel in Shakopee MN »

Have stayed multiple times at this motel. Always found to be a good choice. Highly recommend it. It sometimes fills up during periods of high activity at Valley Fair, Canterberry Downs, and Renesance Festival.

    « What a gem! »

My family stayed here for 2 nights last week for a trip to Valley Fair. Front desk staff were super friendly, cleaning staff did an amazing job and were also very friendly, free breakfast was sufficient. There is a FREE arcade, FREE massage chairs, and a pool. Discounted Valley Fair tickets ($39 each). Apparently there is fresh baked cookies every evening. It was quiet despite being full that night. Showers had good water pressure, beds and pillows were great. Easy location to find.

    2
    « Lots of noise »

When we pulled into the parking lot we should have turned around and left. We knew there was going to be problems. Our guess is that their freezers or refrigerators broke because there was a food truck in the parking lot. But since we already had reservations we checked in. I don't know if it was because we made our reservation on expedia.com but the room we were given was horrible. Upon opening the door there was a moldy smell and the air was very humid. The carpet near the foot of the bed was also damp. The A/C helped with the humid room but it was too loud for us to have running while we were sleeping so we opened the window. But then the sound of the food truck rumbled into our room until midnight. We knew there was a good breakfast at this hotel as we have stayed here before, but their food truck was a bad idea. I would rather have no breakfast then to sleep with that sound. I don't know if we'll be back because we had a great stay the next night at another hotel in the area.

    « Acceptable »

Stayed here three nights on vacation. Booked through airmiles. I chose this location due to its proximity to Valley Fair. I'd have to say I was a little disappointed. I had read (and they advertise) that their breakfast was very good/deluxe, but I thought it was average at best. They also advertised free arcade games, but the two pinball machines I tried weren't fully working (one had only one flipper working!). The room itself was fine. although they didn't clean the room after our first night. I thought some of the staff were a little lacking in customer relations. I tried the hot tub, it seemed it needed maintenance/cleaning. So overall, I would stay here again if I had to, but I would try a different hotel next time.

    « A Series of incidents »

On Check in we were given a room that was clearly not empty. The other room had a sink with hair and dirt in standing water. The pool area was grungy and the water was cloudy. The hotel staff are very nice and clearly some of this was out of their field and should be attended to by management.

    5
    « very nice »

The rooms were very nice, the staff was excellent.. one in our group was upset that there was not a gym, the rest of us didn't care, we liked the massage chairs much much more!!! Going to stay there again next time we are in the area!!

« Stay at BW in Shakopee, MN »

Our stay was very enjoyable. Staff was very friendly, free amenities, and noise was never a problem. Room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast each morning and was always fresh and delicious. Would recommend this motel to anyone.

    « Great place »

Been here twice now. The salt water pool is refreshing and warm. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is great. The massage chairs are a nice added value. Beds are comfy. Hotel has done a nice job keeping up to date with the times.

« Great hotel but be careful in the pool »

We were on a tour of the USA staying in different hotels and this was definitely one of the better ones. It was a lovely hotel with a great room and big bathroom. The beds were comfortable and there was lots of storage space and two luggage racks. In the lobby there were slot machines and games plus 4 free massage chairs which had varying degrees of massage from 'oooh lovely' to 'ouch' but good fun. Breakfast was very good with a nice selection of foods including bananas. The only thing that let it down was the pool. People in my party said it had a very rough floor and a few injured and scraped their feet on it.

    5
« Awesome hotel and great price »

This hotel was a find. The prices were amazingly cheap with free massage chairs to use during your stay, free arcade room, a clean pool that uses saline instead of chlorine that dries out your skin and the most amazing front desk staff. You can tell they take pride in the hotel and do the best they can to make sure their guests have the best stay. I will definitely be back!

    5
    « Excellent stay! »

We stayed for one night but I think the kids wished it was longer. The room was fine - average size and clean. The extras made the stay and will bring us back! Excellent breakfast in the morning although not much table space for size of hotel. FREE arcade for kids and massage chairs. Tickets for free admission to Cantebury and a free shuttle. We will stay again next time we are in town!

« Smelly room with the filthiest carper I have ever seen, »

When we saw that the motel was older (looks new in their pictures) we should have turned around. We walked into the room and it smelled old and wrong. Not sure what the smell was, but it took half a bottle of FaBreeze to tolerate the smell. Later that night I spilled some 7-Up on the floor. I used a white towel to clean it up and the towel turned black. The carpet had to have been filled with dirt and heaven knows what else. We laid down towels over the carpet after that. The breakfast was mediocre. The staff was polite. The bathroom was nice and clean. I am very sad this Best Western was so filthy. The WiFi was spotty

    5
« Outstanding front desk staff »

Our room on the third floor was very clean and quiet. Tons of room to spread out with a king size bed, sofa, coffee table, fridge, and microwave. Counter space in the bathroom was huge, but the 3 lamp light fixture could benefit from higher wattage bulbs. The lighting was adequate, but not quite as bright as my wife likes. The front desk staff, especially Toni, were simply outstanding. Very helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations, and with changes to our travel plans. Breakfast was very good and was set up early. Very close to the Casino and downtown Shakopee.

    « My stay »

Overall the staff was great. The condition of the motel is poor and needs a remodel badly. The motel needs parking lot and exterior improvements as well as a refresh of all rooms and common areas. There was an odd smell to the rooms and many stains in the common areas

« surprised how good this hotel was »

Good rooms, helpful staff, 24hr coffee, cookies at reception in the evening. Nice indoor swimming pool with a good hot tub (tub does need a clean). Nice free breakfast with a good selection including hot items. A nice surprise was that there are 6 massage chairs in the lobby and games machines also, all free.

    « Great Stay »

I do not write many reviews but both my husband and I just want to say if we are ever in the area again we will pick this hotel before any other. The check in person was very welcoming and helpful. He upgraded us to a whirlpool suite and it was wonderful. The bed was comfortable whereas most hotels I have stayed in were hard beds. Everything was very clean. I loved the soap in the dispensers in the shower as well as on the wall in the bathroom. Eco friendly. The breakfast was great. There was a youth group conference in the area and a bus load had stayed at hotel and they were down in the breakfast area so it was crowed but they kept bringing hot food out and refilling everything as fast as they could. Could not ask for more. Thanks for the great stay.

    « Excellent Pet Friendly. »

This was one of the nicest motels we have stayed in. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. They were very environmentally concious. The place is spotless, the massage chairs and game room a great addition. The breakfast is excellent. Will be staying here again!

    « Excellent Experience - Wedding Group »

We had our wedding hotel block here for a wedding nearby in Shakopee. We had a large group of 50 people or more and no one had anything but nice things to say about the hotel and the staff! Every staff member we worked with was extremely kind and courteous and it was obvious that our satisfaction was their top priority. The great experience our family and friends had at the best Western in Shakopee contributed to having an awesome wedding weekend!

    5
    « Great customer service »

Hotel staff has great customer service staff. Take care-of every need, even without asking. At breakfast time I was just starting to look for water jug, hotel desk representative noticed me looking and immediately asked how he could help even though he was busy doing hotel duty tasks.

« Cookies, massage chairs, arcade games - the extras are a delight »

For the most part, a chain hotel is a chain hotel. This property, however, enticed us with fresh cookies every evening, half a dozen massage chairs in the lobby, and free old-school arcade games. The manager was around often, checking in with people to make sure they were happy, and clearly wanted to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The service was personal and much appreciated. At breakfast, there was even a note on the toaster - "5" for bagels, "4" for toast, "3" for english muffins. All of our breakfasts turned out perfectly thanks to that. Plus the room was clean and the beds were comfy. Definitely will stay again.

« Best place to stay in Twin Cities »

FRIENDLY STAFF, VERY ACCOMMODATING. Had maps ready for us when we left to find our destination for the evening. Very quiet hotel. Excellent breakfast. The massage chairs are AWESOME. OUR son loved the arcade, it's FREE. COMFORTABLE beds, fridges in room. Great location. Hope to use the pool next time. Not enough time this trip either. Bonus: fresh baked cookies upon check in and out.

    « April Junk Business »

Very relaxing stay after 2 very busy days. Enjoyed the hot tub, peace & quiet of the room, the breakfast and the good rest I got each night. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, did not have to worry about the things I left behind in the room each day. I enjoyed the massage chairs they had in the lobby area for the guests to use. Overall I liked the hotel & will probably book there next year again.

    5
    « Very Pleasant »

It is obvious that much pride is taken in keeping this property nice for its guests. They are eco-friendly as well. The pool is salt-water, so chlorine-free, which is a nice change. There are 6 full body massage chairs, free to guests, for a nice way to relax after a long day of shopping! The staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is fresh and has something for everyone. I don't have kids, but I did notice a small arcade for their entertainment. I would stay here again.

« What Other Hotels Should Apire To »

This hotel is perhaps the most welcoming and modern I've stayed in. The owner takes a very direct approach in welcoming guests, even mingling with them during breakfast to make sure their stay was up to par and ask if there's anything else he can do for them. It's a very "green" property...the most so I've seen at a hotel with recycling even in guest rooms, motion sensor LED lights throughout and a salt water pool and hot tub that are cleaner and easier on the eyes and skin. Also, GREAT hot breakfast and some extremely comfortable massage chairs in lobby free for guests. Coffee is of high quality. Has an arcade where the games actually work! Also, vending machines have more than just candy...they also have complete microwavable meals that you can heat up in your room microwave and keep cool in your mini fridge. I always love coming to Shakopee when I can stay in this hotel!

    5
    « Wedding Weekend »

We came to this hotel with a group of approximately 30 people (not the most tame group either) and the staff was incredible! Joked around with us, constantly asked if we needed anything, and made us feel welcomed. Free arcade games too (Crusin' World, Golden Tee, pinball, air hockey)! Made me feel like a kid again!

    5
    « Amazing staff »

Loved every minute of staying in this lovely friendly hotel, nothing too much trouble for staff, first morning my little girl was awake at 5am with jet lag, so we went for a little walk around breakfast area, and they offered her breakfast and by 6am she was in swimming pool, and my children where in pool at least once every day sometimes up till 10pm in the evening (maybe best to bring some water shoes if they love swimming as much as my children as floor can be slightly rough) free arcade games , cookies in the evening , would never stay anywhere else now in Shakopee would give it 110% if I could

    4
    « Concert night »

Location was good for going to Mystic Lake Casino. Only 4 mile drive. Room was clean. Bedding was very nice. Breakfast was great. Extra perks were 4 massage chairs in the lobby. The 4 of us used these and they were very nice. Also had free video games in a room for kids. The gentleman that checked us in was so friendly. I wish we would have wrote his name down. Gave us 4 bottles of water and granola bars at check in

    5
« great staff and breakfast »

I was very satisfied with the breakfast and the quality and attentiveness of the staff present. I enjoyed the stay from the second I was there to the minute I checked out. Having everything in the room (toothpaste to mouthwash) was also very convenient -George

    « Sport Show Hotel »

The brother in law and I attended a Fishing /Hunting Sport Show in Shakopee Minnesota and stayed at the Best Western Shakopee Inn. It is in a convenient location not far from the race track where the Sport Show was being held. I have multiple environmental allergies and the pool was a special treat for me as it had been converted from chlorine to salt water (brine). I was able to swim and breathe easily. The room was dated but had everything in it that we required. TV, microwave, WIFI etc.

    « Business conference »

Excellent helpful staff. Fantastic selection of food at complimentary breakfast that was fresh and presented well. Really enjoyed the saltwater pool and whirlpool for relaxing after busiiness. Very clean rooms and facilities. Checking in and out was a breeze.

    « A Very 'Smart' Hotel »

This is a smaller...yet very well-maintained property. It has a great location...close enough to walk to several restaurants/gas stations/shops within the immediate area and much more just a short car drive away. This is probably one of the most energy efficient hotels I've stayed at in the recent past. They have awards/news stories on the walls with accolades of being very green. Examples: instead of disposable amenity bottles [shampoo/conditioner/lotion]...they have refillable dispensers in the bathrooms. Also...the main arcade [plus...there are many additional games throughout the stairwells] is only 'turned on' when it's in use. All lighting appeared to be florescent and many lights in the public spaces were on motion-sensor so they only turned on as needed...same with some of the soda vending machines--the lights only turned on while you were near them. I totally appreciate all their efforts to protect our resources...very commendable! The couple who owns this hotel are very invested in their property and it's evident they understand the notion of hospitality. I had several interactions/conversations with them...and they're delightful! Now...onto the actual stay. We were originally reserved for an accessible room as that was the only option available at the time of booking. When we arrived to check in...I made mention that we didn't need an accessible room and if possible...would have liked just a king. Not only were we given a king...we were also surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a jacuzzi room...which we appreciated immensely. My little one just adored this and had fun playing in the huge bathtub. [It's a typical sized jacuzzi: probably suitable for two adults or a few smaller children.] The room was very spacious...modern and clean. We also had a mini fridge/microwave/sofa/work desk inside. In terms of room temperature...they hit the nail right on the head again by having a wall mount unit that guests...not the hotel...control. So...your room is always just the temperature you'd like it to be. We were very comfortable in our room. The bed was plush and cozy with nice bedding and plenty of pillows. [Additionally...there was an extra pillow and blanket tucked in the closet.] The bathroom was nice...abundant counter space. The towels were soft and nice quality. The shower head was adjustable...and the water pressure was just fine. Back to that arcade I mentioned earlier...I forgot to say that all the games here...are free! Yes...FREE! Besides the free games...they also offer a total for six top quality massage chairs for the adults...100% free as well. I enjoyed a head to toe massage and felt like a million bucks afterward. Talk about sensational perks! The pool area is large...and both the pool and hot tub are saltwater...no itchy skin or swimsuit discoloration. Terrific! The pool itself is large and lap swimming is definitely an option. The hot tub was a bit smaller [I'd guess like seven adults could easily fit]...but...that didn't pose an issue for us whatsoever as each time we stopped at the pool...we were the only ones there. There are lots of windows in there so it's a very bright space. Breakfast in the morning was very good...slightly better than some other similar hotels. Besides the typical breakfast fare: cereal/toast/pastries/yogurt/juice/coffee/milk/fruit/etc...they had three hot options. There were biscuits and gravy...cheese omelettes...and big chunky potatoes. My favorite feature was the waffle maker. Typically you can only make one gigantic waffle...which is just way too much for me. However...the waffle maker here was four mini waffles...versus just a large one. Another 'smart' solution! Everything was hot and fresh and plentiful. The wifi is fiber optic and I never experienced any lags at all. It worked perfectly. They also offer two guest-use computers in the lobby area. The hotel is very clean and quiet. Even though we weren't the only ones there...it sure felt like we were. There is also a little 'smoking' patio out back with benches for relaxing. This hotel is pet friendly...as we saw several dogs strolling around while we were there. If this is a concern for you...make sure to request a non-pet room when reserving. It is three stories tall...and there is an elevator. The ladies from housekeeping that we met were friendly and took time to chat with us. Also...the engineer was very friendly and noticed there were no towels in the pool area for us...and before I could even ask for any...he was there with a fresh stack for us. I can't say enough good about this property. They all really understand the concept of hospitality and make you feel right at home. I'd gladly return here...and...wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

« Kept the guys happy »

We where trying to find an affordable place for a special Olympic Basketball tournament -my son suggested this hotel and even tho it was 45 min from the tournament it was well worth the drive. My guys loved the pool, massage chairs, breakfast and the highlight was the FREE arcade games. This makes my job as a foster mom so much easier when they are happy. So hats off to you Best Western Shakopee we will be a return customer for sure.

« Clean and tidy best value hotel »

Reading hotel reviews in the area there is in my mind an unreasonable weighting assigned to Hotel position. I value a clean, tidy and well maintained hotel well above where it is located. The Best Western in Shakopee met and even exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless, all the amenities worked well and the staff were very pleasant. As it happens its location wasn't bad either but when it comes to a choice pick a clean hotel and drive to wwhere you need to go.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding. It was the hotel the bride and groom booked for guests. Upon arrival, we were discouraged at the appearance of the outside. However, once inside and especially inside our room we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was quite good compared to other hotel breakfasts we've experienced in the past.

« My home away from home for a long-term project »

I have stayed at this hotel once or twice a month for almost 2 years while completing a long-term project. The staff is the best, they always go out of the way to make me feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable and clean and I'm always recognized for my Diamond status with a complimentary upgrade to a Jacuzzi room. This makes being away from home so often much more enjoyable. The free Massage chairs in the Lobby are an added bonus. Thank you Nick and staff for a great place to stay!

    « Girls night out »

The staff at the hotel was very accommodating as a Best Western perks member we were upgraded to a Jacuzzi suite with an adjoining room. The check in staff was very friendly and helpful when we were looking for a taxi and a place to eat, we were given drink vouchers for a restaurant near by. Rooms were as expected, free breakfast in the am with many hot food items, check out staff was just as friendly as check in staff.

I was visiting my fiance for the weekend, I stayed at this facility because it was priced right and offered a free breakfast. I didn't expect too much but was pleasantly surprised by the awesome customer service clean room and yummy breakfast! I definitely would recommend staying at this hotel if you like a clean room, great service and a good breakfast. BTW..they also have a look and a free arcade area for kids.

This is our third time staying here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious with a lot of choices. This is our "home" when we come to the cities.

« Impressed with this hotel »

not expecting it to be that good since we have a different Best Western stay that was a nightmare before, but since it's near to where we are going so we gave BW another shot, and was really impressed!!!

    « Customer service 5 stars! »

We visited this hotel as I was in town for a conference. The location was only a few streets from my conference location as well as 7 minutes from mystic lake casino, a fun stop on our trip. Upon arrival it turns out our rooms were incorrect but when I returned to the front desk to let them know we were given the best customer service one could ever imagine. We were promptly upgraded into the best rooms in the house which were king rooms with whirlpools, a living room, a kitchenette, massage chair, and bathroom with a separate vanity as well. The person I was traveling with ALSO was given the same courtesy going far and above the standards of service! The entire hotel is covered with free play arcade games and free massage chairs! Just a bonus to you. We had a blast revisiting our 1980s youth by playing some of the old favorites. The pool was superbly cleaned and they use saltwater! It was heated to bathwater warm temps so was very comfortable to get into! There is also a hot tub here as well. Let's not forget to talk about breakfast! Typically a hot continental breakfast has a few choices and then the usual cold. This specific best western location sported fried potatoes, eggs, sausage, waffles, french toast, biscuits and gravy, a cereal selection, bread selection, donuts, muffins, bagels, every condiment you could desire, in addition to juice bar, milk, and coffee bar! It would be impossible to walk out of this breakfast without finding something you like. There are also snack and soda machines in the hotel if you've forgotten your goodies. This is an A plus hotel for both service and standards. It is fantastic to still see people care about your stay and go out of their way to make everything great for you!

« Bait and switch!! Liars and theives!! And they dont change the bedding!!! Beware! »

We walked in asked if they were dog friendly. Yes they say. We say ok we have dogs. Yup no problem. Sign here he says, and we get the key. Very uncomfy pillows, old dingy carpeting, no coffee in room except Decaf! However it was unsafe to drive home( blowing snow etc) so we took the room and made the best of it. In the morning we get a call after we check out. The man, Nick G, (the asst manager) calls and says hey we have a $20 extra per night charge for your dogs!! So we need $60!! What? We specifically told the man at check in we had the dogs. This is bait and switch. Tell the consumer one price and withhold the other fees so that we are not able to make an informed buying decision! If we had been informed of these fees we would NOT have chosen this hotel. We wouldve kept looking. Soooo then he says there was BLOOD on the sheets. I was menstruating and left a tiny dot of blood. So he says NOW THE ROOM CANT BE RENTED TONIGHT!!! OMG!! What??!!!! ?? So you DONT CHANGE THE SHEETS??????!!!! I was shocked. I said really so you have never heard of bleach? And OMG the room cant be rented tonight??? Hey try changing the sheets!!! Omg omg omg It was a dive to begin with and no the truth folks, if YOU stay there, it sounds like you will have someone ELSES sheets!!! AND even tho you say i have dogs or whatever else your specifics are i BET you get a call later yo add more money to your bill!!! What a bunch of RUDE and unprofessional people. I asked to speak to Nicks boss ( the mngr whos name he said was Bob S) and so guess what? The customer service star that Nick is HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! I called back and the lady says oh Nick left. Riiiight, he just ran out into the blizzard? Where did Nick manage to go in 30 seconds??! I asked to speak to Bob, she was incredibly RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAl! In broken english she LIES and tells me Bob just went into a meeting. Sure he did. And Nick ran off into the freezing blizzard. Uh huh. Sure. Wow. Buyer Beware! You will get the old Bait and Switch with the rates and extra fees and if you actually sleep on the sheets they will be mad and tell you now we cant rent it tonight!!! That blows my mind!!! Dont they do laudry on site? Dont they have more than one set of sheets for each room? How in the world is it possible that they would say that to us?!!!! Then, if you question them or their underhanded sneaky bait and switch the rate later tactics they will just hang up on you then RUN and HIDE. STAY AWAY!!!! Spare yourself this misery!! I am going to write to Best Western headquarters. Someone needs to hear this!! No other weary travelers deserve this treatment.

« Welcoming, comfortable, with all the amenities you need! »

A great supporter of local sporting events, especially the Minnesota Hall of Fame Racquetball tournament. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is full of everything you'd need to get your morning started, complete with several full body massage chairs! Will stay here every year during tournament time!

We had the best time thanks to the Hotel staff! WE loved their friendliness and the fresh cookies every night and endless coffee. But the massage chairs were a huge hit also! There were a bunch of us there using 8 rooms and we had a Blast!

« Convenient, close to casino »

A nice plac e to stay. My wife and I were pleased with the convenience, service and comfort of the hotel and amenities available. We had plans for a New Years Eve celebration at a nearby casino and found this hotel to be a convenient distance away from our destination.

« Wonderful service, GREEN hotel, great for Families! »

The service is wonderful. The staff are helpful and accommodating. They are willing to help with anything. Tim,Samantha, and the Owners really understand Hostelry. The breakfast is extensive with waffles, French Toast, Biscuits and gravy, cereals, bagels, English Muffins, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, rolls doughnuts, biscuits and gravy, muffins. It is served from 6:30-9:30 AM. Coffee, Hot chocolate, and tea is available 24/7. Home made cookies are also served. The pool and Hot tub are Salt water instead of chlorine, which makes your skin feel great! They have 6 Massage chairs free to use. For children they have 2 areas with free video games and pinball machines. This is a Green hotel. They Have dispensers in all the rooms for shampoo, conditioners, body lotion, and Hand wash. The rooms are very clean! The rooms have microwaves and Refrigerators. The rooms are decorated modern with nice clean finishes. The beds are thick with extra nice pillows and comfortable mattresses. A family friendly Hotel with things to do for children. They Have 2 computers in the breakfast area for public use and a office area for the business minded customer, with two additional computers. They offer printing for reasonable demands free. The WiFi is excellent, with good service and NO dropped internet. That service is free! I stayed at this motel for 5 days in 2015, and yearly plan a stay for five days around Christmas for Family and friends. There is a casino, Horse track and Valley Fair is close. You will not regret staying here.

    « Stay of a lifetime »

When traveling around the US, one may see many places calling themselves the "Best Western" but they are all liars. Only one can be the best, and that is the Best Western of Shakopee, MN. Let's begin with the upkeep. Our large, beautiful rooms were stunningly clean, the entire building always smelled fresh and the towels always fluffy. The lobby, which includes a computer, tables for eating the complimentary breakfast (we'll get there), a game room full of free arcade games, and another room of massage chairs, was always kept clean. There was never a thing out of place during our entire stay, other than the occasional newspaper which people would enjoy over breakfast. Which brings me to my next point. The breakfast. Oh, the breakfast. As someone who travels for business I've found that "complimentary breakfast" usually means milk, cereal, instant oatmeal, and the occasional piece of fruit. But not for Best Western of Shakopee. Oh no. They have a full buffet-style breakfast every morning featuring freshly cooked eggs, French toast, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and a full selection of cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits, and pastries. When Best Western of Shakopee says breakfast, they mean breakfast. And now, friends, you may ask, "What is the best quality of the best Best Western ever?" That would be the people. The whole staff went above and beyond hospitality for the entirety of our stay. We were greeted with freshly baked cookies at the door every night, as well as friendly conversation. By the end of our stay the owners remembered our names and asked us how our project that we were there to do was going. They even remembered that my coworker was having his birthday at the end of the week and gave him a birthday gift. Like I said, this is the best of all Best Westerns. So in conclusion, let me say that I'm from the East coast and I would travel to Minnesota just to stay at this location. It is close to the Mall of America and relatively close to the cities. Definitely 5/5 stars.

We have stayed at many Best Western and this was the best of the many that we have stayed at. Service was great and the room was very nice. Quite and clean. Will stay there again! The room was very quite. The fact that the fan on the heater did not come on during the night was a plus! Breakfast was great and the chairs in the lobby were wonderful!

« I Feel Swindled and want a partial refund! »

This place was a ripoff. They charged $119/night and $20/night/dog for folks who were in town at a dog show. The advertised price is $84/night as I am writing this review. When I made my reservation I negotiated that I would not pay the pet fee, but when I was checking in they were playing that canard with others who were also there for the dog show. The property definitely is NOT one that is in the $100+/night category. Depending on who was working, some of the staff were outwardly hostile to dogs and their owners. I will think twice before staying here again. I was originally put into a room that had a musty odor. My original room had a musty odor, and around midnight the heater started making a loud racket, so much so that I couldn't sleep. I asked for a new room and had to move. My new room didn't have the odor. I assumed that the front desk person who checked me in put me in that room on purpose because of the dogs, which upset me. Mattresses were very soft, which I don't like. Pillows were small and offered weak support. But sleep quality was ok. Internet was VERY SLOW... I couldn't even stream Hulu without using my personal hotspot. Breakfast was subpar. They offer a lot of nice sounding things, but when you see it in the morning you're like "ewww". The "scrambled eggs" are pre-formed egg-something made to resemble a fried egg. Really quite gross. Then there's the gravy in a bag with the frozen biscuits and the make-your-own-waffle carb overload. I think they had sausage too... but not any fakon. Very disappointing.... I had breakfast elsewhere... and you'd think at $119/night I could get a real breakfast included!

« Good rate for business »

This was a seven night stay and I was quite comfortable in my room. This is my third stay at this property. Downside, the doors slam and no ones prevents ot for the consideration of others. The motion detector lights in the stair wells are like playing the slots. Sometimes they come on sometimes they do not. I mentioned this is my last two revviews of this property. The breakfast is less than desireable and I only used it the first morning. My biggest complaint is they allowed a person with a disabled placard to leave a trailer in one of only three disabled parking places. He managed very well to couple and uncouple the trailer somit could have been put in another spot so the other vehicles with disabled placards could have utilized it. Trailers are not include when it is not attached for disability status. I am in Shakopee twice a year for several nights. I may consider Country Inn and Suites in the Spring. There were several exterior lights that did not work and the lot was very dark in places.

    « Like Coming Home »

We have been staying at this hotel twice a year for years. It is like coming home. We always get the same room. The warm and wonderful couple that owns this hotel are always there to greet us. They make sure all is well. We are there to work, and the state of the art massage chairs (free to guests) are an amazing gift. Our room is just as we left it. We really look forward to returning to this hotel. I cannot say that about others, because, frankly, being on the road is intensely stressful. These delightful folks make it less so. It's all about the human connection. The level of caring. It isn't just a place. We are not a number. We are friends.

    « Excellent Experience »

The owner of this property is present every morning, and is out with the guests making sure all is going very well. He knows his customers, and develops relationships. The entire staff is Customer Service oriented, extremely friendly and attentive. The overall experience at this property is amazing. They have FREE arcade for the kids, and a really nice Hot Tub and pool area. A great place to unwind after a long day of work, or play.

« VERY happy with our stay »

The massage chairs were fantastic! The staff were all friendly. The room was very comfortable. Loved the homemade home fries in the morning. I would highly recommend this hotel to any of my traveling family and friends. We already have recommended it. The only complaint I have is that the juice tasted very watered down. We drank something else for breakfast. Fortunately, there were choices.

Clean and tasteful rooms. Loved the many amenities and the free massage chairs and arcade room! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lobby was decorated very nice. Just a super, all around hotel to stay in. Worth the money! The beds were comfortable. The only thing for me were that the pillows were very plump, but that is better than flat! We will definitely be staying here again.

    « Don't let looks fool you »

This hotel may not look like much from the outside but it's obvious that the owners take pride in enhancing your experience. Beds were very comfortable but beyond that were the little things, like breakfast and massage chairs... I need one at home!

« Stay away from this hotel »

Hotel quality is very Poor. Rooms in this hotel has old and worn linen. Socket for mobile charging not easily available or accessible. I had to take out one of the lamps next to bed to charge the cell in the night. Breakfast quality average or poor. It was not worth money paid.

« Very clean and complimentary shuttle to Ren Fest »

Really enjoyed our stay. Every time we called the hotel to ask a question (because I forgot to write things down) the staff was professional and courteous. The owners checked us in early and then drove us to the Renaissance Faire, which was really nice. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

    « A great place to stay »

Wonderful staff, good food and great cooks. Food was not over salted. plenty of variety. Nice quiet room, very clean and pleasant. Energy efficient hotel, very carbon-footprint conscious. Full service lounge -- free game room, and spa-chairs. great Internet --very fast. Vending machines have full dinners (frozen). You have a microwave and a refrig in your room. I was there for Renaissance, and the manager took us to the fair several times. He is a great conversationalist with a delightful personality. NOTE: If you are planning to use the spa-chairs, be sure you have 2 inches of strong padding behind your back. The designers of these chairs has NO clue what can seriously bruise a human body.

« Noise from the entry door »

This is out 5 year staying it this hotel and have never had any issues before this stay.. Out room was on the first floor (125) i think.. It was right next to side entry door and the stairs leading to the 2nd floor. Every thing some one would enter via the door it would hit a steel support out side the building and shake my bed. it woke me up twice also you could hear other guests walking up and down the stairs. My wife and have been staying it this hotel for the past 5 years, This was our annual trip to "JUNK Bonanza" held at Canterbury Park.. This is how we celebrate our wedding anniversary and have enjoyed staying it this hotel.. On check out I mentioned it to the man at the front desk his reply was "no one has ever complained about the noise before" and seemed disinterested in discussing the matter any further..
