Best Western Plus Big America

The location isn't in the best area, but was clean. The breakfast was okay. I can't really make a complaint since other properties don't serve breakfast Thanks to Jacob for introducing me to the best western points reward program. Front desk were very welcoming.

We stayed with our High School Softball team from Royal High School in Simi Valley, everyone was most pleasant and professional, most accommodating, I couldn't be more pleased and comfortable in our stay, very clean and breakfast served is top notch, we have been coming to Santa Maria area for over 20 years to participate in the Best of the West Softball Tournament and this was the first time staying at this location, this is now the ONLY place we will be staying in the future. See you again next year with our entire team, you are the best!

I am typically satisfied with Best Western hotels, and this was no exception. It was clean, well priced, comfortable, and the staff was exceptionally kind. Everyone went out of their way to welcome us, and accommodate us with a bite to eat even though we were headed out before breakfast officially opened for the day. I would definitely stay at this one again.

I have stayed at this hotel three times as I have come to town to visit my son. And every time it is super duper clean. Like maybe the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. And every time I have come to the front desk, the ladies there are so nice and personable. I could sit and chat with them and have a great time! The hotel location is great and I feel totally safe. As my son lives in Santa Maria over the years, this will always be the hotel I stay at. See you guys next time!

Nice hotel. All the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good. The lobby was beautifully decorated. It even had a grand piano. The bathroom was very spacious. It's close to stores and restaurants. I usually only like to stay at hotels with inside entrances but this seemed like a safe area.

Needs upgrades , our family has been staying here over the past 20 years when visiting the coast hadnt stayed there in about 5years, and i think it will be our last. The tv kept losing signal and its tiny/outdate. The pillows were so flat barely able to sleep on them had to fold them, some of the towels had stains, the chair was chair was so uncomfortable and peeling .i feel like it looked as it did 20 years ago with the exception of the coffee machine upgrade to a keurig.

The beds are excellent, and I've never been to a cleaner hotel. The breakfast is always great, better than another over-priced national chain that includes breakfast. The shower is full sized with great pressure. You can actually open the windows to enjoy the weather. Spend the extra on a suite. It's worth it! I do wish the living room TV was bigger though.

It is the only hotel I recommend in the whole city. Some of the best beds in all the hotels I stay in. Clean fitness center and nice pool and spa. Wi-Fi is spotty in a few rooms but over all is good..

The hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms were of good size. The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants and stores which made it easy to get what we needed. There doesn't seem to be much to do in the city but if you drive north for around 20 minutes you'll get to pismo beach!

It was the best have stayed in so far. It's nice and clean. The Staff were lovely with great communication with me. When I come back to Santa Maria I'll be reserving a room here again. Breakfast had a variety of different options. I wish I could have stayed longer than a night to enjoy the pool and gym areas. Thank y'all.

We have used this hotel and loved it for 30 years. It's always been clean, quiet, and comfortable until our visit last summer. The bedsheets had multiple long hairs in them. There were four hair rinse bottles and no shampoo. There was coffee for the coffee maker, but it was all decaf. There was someone playing loud music late at night, which the front desk immediately took care of, but we had never had nuisance noise there before so we were surprised. The room smelled dusty to the point where I needed allergy medicine. All staff who we encountered were lovely, but I suspect housekeeping had an off day. I hope they step up and return to previous good levels of quality and care.

The stay was great, close to shops and lots of restaurants. Safe,clean,friendly staff, free breakfast and relax atmosphere. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Definitely would go back and stay there again.

Great breakfast. Great, warm pool and hot tub. Super nice and helpful staff. The place is clean and well maintained. I had 3 different times that I was surprised by how nice the staff treated us. That is worth a lot to me. Very comfortable accommodation.

I cannot say enough good things about this property and the amazing folks who work there! Many of my family members were coming to town this last weekend for my mother's Celebration of Life. I reached out last October and was put in touch with manager, Robert Cooks. He is amazing! Not only did he block rooms for our family and set up a special rate, he allowed us to use the conference room for a gathering place after Mom's funeral. He even allowed me to store the cake in the housekeeping refrigerator overnight. Thank you Robert! Elisha and Luis at the front desk are wonderful! Elisha had the room set up with coffee, water and a place to put the cake when I arrived thinking I had to do all that before guests arrived! Thank you Elisha! Luis was so kind helping me adjust reservations at the last minute and bringing waters to the conference room. Thank you Luis! In addition, Elisha and Luis cleaned up after us! The rooms we all stayed in were clean and spacious! I highly recommend a stay at the Best Western Big America in Santa Maria!

I love the rooms are nice and big and clean very clean. It's probably the cleanest motel I've ever been in. I definitely definitely won't come back here tomorrow when I'm in the area this will be my spot to stay at.

Spacious rooms, perfect breakfast, can't want more. Their suites are amazing as well for just a few dollars more. Plenty of parking. Music playing while eating breakfast, nice touch. Staff very friendly.

Breakfast was decent and the room was clean and more than satisfactory. The bed was comfortable. Only negative was an 18 wheeler truck outside the window that started up at 5 am. The driver was talking loudly as well. Not sure how the hotel can control this, but maybe truckers can think about this and try to help. Also, someone drove through about that time with loud music playing. Otherwise, would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others.

Everything was positive in our stay and we could have enjoyed being here for multiple days. Our king room was spacious with quality furnishings, supplies and layout. We also enjoyed the great hot breakfast kept fresh continually by the staff - lots of seating, too. The staff were friendly and effective.

Rooms are always clean and perfect for all of my needs. I've stayed here and it's always been a great experience. The staff is really knowledgeable and always helpful. If you're looking for a place to stay that's centrally located between LA and San Francisco this is the place for you and your family.

On arrival this hotel looked great and it didn't disappoint, I wished we'd booked for more nights but we were moving on to a different area. Friendly, helpful and chatty staff at reception upon checking in and out. We were directed to our room and advised of the location of the breakfast area and pool. Plenty of parking available so we were able to park near to our room which was on the first floor. There wasn't any lifts so we had to drag our cases up a flight of stairs, we were in room"New Mexico". The room was a great size, sofa and lounging area with air con as you entered, big TV and unit, sink and coffee machine, fridge and microwave. Bed was large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also really spacious, shower over the bath, separate toilet room, wardrobe and vanity area with a hairdryer. We had a good sleep, with no road noise (our room was further back from the road) or any disturbance from other guests. We didn't have time to use the pool. Breakfast was small and basic but was good for being included and it got us ready for the day. I would definately recommend to stay here and I would say it was one of the nicest Best Westerns I've stayed in.

Room very clean and had the smell of fresh linens. TV remote a little difficult to navigate Otherwise another happy stay while i visited family in town Didn't did the breakfast this time around. Staff was friendly and accommodating

Night clerk Cindy was very helpful as well as Elizah in the morning. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are very well maintained. Places close to eat. Only downfall, need freezer section in your refrigerators.

Bed was Comfortabl,Room was very clean and smelled fresh,breakfast was good ,Jacuzzi was a plus. Front desk was very helpful. Only 2 complaints there were 2 big dogs at the pool that the guests took and the older lady helping at breakfast was rude and looked like she hated her job.

We stayed here one night when traveling, in the Arkansas room. Two queen beds. Room was clean. Noticed when trying to shower that the tiny bottles of conditioner were empty, used by last guest which was kind of icky. But they brought new ones to room pretty much instantly when I called. Every place can have snafus, but how fast they are remedied says more to me than the mistake. The bathroom was large and convenient for families, with a separate room for toilet, a separate vanity with bench seat to do hair and makeup, a shower with opaque curtain, and a single sink with mirror and counter space. There were noisy footsteps from unit abcve which didnt stop until an hour after our bedtime, but the room was otherwise quiet. Small pool, we didn't use. The breakfast was good, though some items ran out early. Cappuccino maker was nice and available all day, which I appreciated when our departure was delayed due to tire trouble. The lobby is fancy with a hige chandelier, piano and plenty of seating. When we were leaving, a housekeeping staff member came up to us and pointed out we had a flat tire. We had AAA refill the tire and we drove to Gonzales tire shop a few blocks away. They were able to remove nail, patch tire, and it only cost us $20. So grateful to staff for alerting us as we were headed back to freeway to get to our destination. The rate seemed quite high but the rates everywhere along 101 were high when we traveled, and at least they have free parking and the free breakfast. We would stay there again.

The staff was outstanding and courteous. Hot, delicious breakfast provided each morning. Coffee and water available 24 hours a day. Very clean and well maintained. Easily accessible from interstate and close to most things in town.

I really enjoyed my stay at this location. The facilities were extremely clean, and the staff was very attentive. The breakfast was good, lots of choices, plus they change it up on a daily basis. The bed was very comfortable.

This ‘hotel' is much more like a motel. No enclosures except the lobby. The bare bones room. They must get a lot of construction workers staying the night who like to sit in the parking lot and drink beer until late. Incredibly noisy. Staff was super nice and helpful. I just wasn't prepared for the loud noises and the fact it's much more like a motel. Walls super thin.

The checking in process was great. I enjoyed Tina's great customer service. She mentioned BW Rewards Program, complimentary breakfast, heated pool, jacuzzi and a gym. My room was super comfy and relaxing. The breakfast waffles were amazing! Overall I had a marvelous stay. :)

We had 15 family members in 5 rooms for our weekend stay. We were all quite pleased with the service, cleanliness and morning breakfast food. From check in to checkout staff members were all smiles and helpful with information about local restaurants to grocery stores. We had all the children in the pool and used their bbg for a hot dog lunch. All staff members went beyond our expectations to be sure we were taken care of. Thank you sooo much. The kids were from all over the country ,even New Zealand, and that was a terrific bonding time for all. When I asked a housekeeper where the pool was, she stopped what she was doing and escorted me to the pool, greatly appreciated. Breakfast foods were fresh and hot as they should be. Eggs and sausages were alway hot and fresh. Milk and yogurt were cold as they should be. Room was a little older but clean. The bed linen were all white, they were CLEAN. The showers was clean and all chalking was clean ( no mildew) We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in the area.

Front desk attendant was lovely and efficient. Had an issue with other loud guests and she dealt with it promptly. Loved the room design, with huge bathroom and dressing area. Very clean. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast is good enough to start the morning. Pool and amenities are clean and in service. The staff is gentle and profesional on the service. Prices are very good according with the value of the place. Again, I'm so satisfied with the service at all.

Excellent stay! This is our go-to motel when visiting family in Santa Maria. Very clean, comfy beds, friendly staff, good hot breakfast and dog friendly. This last time, they discovered I'd left something that was very important to me. I considered driving four hours each way to get it, but they said they would mail it and they didn't even charge me. That is the kind of service that keeps us going back! Thanks to the staff that were honest and helpful in returning my item and the GM who made it complementary. See you next time!

The kindest staff who genuinely care and are helpful fom check-in to check-out. The breakfast was amazing(waffle maker, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, bagels, cereal, coffee,hot chocolate..) and an amazingly kind staff member to help you. No hidden fees or extra deposit needed. Pet friendly.

It was a very clean and neat hotel. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our bed was comfy and soft. Even though rooms have facing parking slots it was surprisingly quiet. We decided to eat breakfast in the lobby and found it pleasant and tasty. Great value.

Ads say you have handheld shower heads but my room did NOT have it. I'm handicapped and cannot stand long enough for a shower. I was disappointed over that, otherwise nice room. Y'all need to update ads saying SOME rooms have them, OR be sure all rooms have them.

While it was a short visit this time we often stay at this hotel when visiting family in Santa Maria. It's always comfortable and the staff are welcoming. The hotel has a restaurant and there is breakfast from 6:30 am -9:30 am in the hotel lobby.

Spent a night here last weekend (for $215), and it was so disappointing. We had a "mini-suite" which had a separate bedroom from the pull-out bed in the front room. The pull-out bed didn't have any pillows or blankets, and was very, very uncomfortable and NOISY. Also, there was no soap anywhere in the room. The TV didn't work in the bedroom (and the remote was visibly broken, but even using the remote from the front room didn't help because the bedroom TV had no signal). The worst parts for us were how LOUD the room got whenever anyone near us used their bathroom - sounded like an jet engine! Woke us up repeatedly. Noise from the outside hallway kept us awake as well. There was a tall cigarette disposal right outside our room - so the air intake into our room was smoke-filled repeatedly. Breakfast was fine enough, though really crowded and the guy refilling the foods was in a bad mood. We stayed at 3 hotels on our road trip, and this was the most expensive and the worst experience. I filled out a survey after our stay and got a response "sorry we didn't exceed your expectations". Sir, you did not even meet my expectations. Disappointing that this is part of the Best Western brand.

I was impressed for the price. We paid$187 for a Sunday-Monday (Labor day) and I thought overall it was great. Pros - we got the suite so it had two tvs, a couch, a microwave and fridge, the price was lower than expected (although $30 of that was Expedia rewards) Cons - I was at the front desk waiting for 3-5 minutes while people in the back were talking. I finally had a lady help me who said my credit card didn't match the one on file. She ended up telling me a few minutes later that it was her second day and she read the last four of the confirmation number instead of the credit card. She was nice but check in took longer than usual. There were also a few blood stains (no joke) on the bottom of the bathroom wall and slightly on the tile. We were in room 238. Overall, the queen bed was comfortable, the TVs worked well, and would stay here again.

I came here to watch the Starlink Group 3-4 Falcon 9 Block 5 launch. The launch occurred at 10:40pm so when I got back to the hotel, I had problems finding a parking spot. Two rather large trucks were parked sideways taking up to three parking spots each. The majority of the vehicles are diesel powered so they are quite noisy. Some of the trucks were started at 5am and continued on to about 7:30am. And the trucks are on the large size so they take up space in the parking lot. I lost count but I come here to stay overnight so I can watch the rocket launches. The hot breakfast is back as I had scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and gravy. Before, someone would bring in breakfast burritos. I was looking forward to them as they were very tasty. So, having a hot breakfast is a plus. A negative: my TV did not work. This was my first time having a room upstairs. If you have a heavy suitcase, good luck as there were no elevators. I lucked out as I had a carryon. I will have to think hard if I want to come back to this place. The other option is SureStay in Lompoc but they raised their rates on launch day(about the same as weekend rates) which was more expensive than Big American rate. This was a very disappointing stay.

We go to a dog event every year in Pismo Beach. This was our 4th year, and 4th stay. It's a great place to stay. Dog friendly, spacious room (with a huge bathroom area) and a nice buffet breakfast included. Highly recommend.

Stayed here twice on our trip to and from SoCal. Great place to stop over at the right price. Clean , quiet, free breakfast, and all staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are good size, and the bathrooms are huge, with a great dressing area. This would be a plus if you are in the area for a special event such as a graduation or wedding. We didn't use the pool or spa, but they looked very clean and inviting. Overall, a great one night stay. Would stay here again.

Overall it was very nice room size worked out great for us. We have stayed here many times over the years and most of the staff has been here for some time. There are never any great surprises. They do have a lot of commercial workers staying here.

I stayed when visiting from out of state for a family emergency. It was comforting to come back to my large, clean room each day. The breakfast was great and the staff went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. It got a little loud at night as there were guests that rode motorcycles and also a lot of large trucks that left early for work. Still, I would definitely stay here again.

Went here to celebrate our Anniversary. Instead of a nice restful place to stay we were rudely awaken by our neighbors - contract workers with various construction companies, including Union Pacific. I understand they need a place to stay while away doing a job, but be courteous enough not to make a lot of noise at 5:30 in the morning getting ready for their work day. They would back up their trucks, which sounded that wonderful back up beeper. Also parking was horrible. They would park their work trucks in front of their room, so we would not find a space close to our room. Don't try to get food when their around, there's no place to sit and the eat everything... The manager did offer us another room farther away, but its never fun to move once you've unpacked. I think the management should put all of these workers in a section near the back, away from other customers. I did advise staff that this was an anniversary getaway, a lot of good that did us.

Great location in Santa Maria, close to all the famous BBQ spots. Lovely pool, jacuzzi, and outdoor seating. The thing that really did it for me was the homemade breakfast burritos at the breakfast buffet!

Super helpful friendly staff. Real neat and clean modern up to date room. Great shower. I usually stay away from motels and prefer hotels. But this particular one changed my opinion. The one big negative to me was the cooked continental breakfast. Not that the food was bad..it was decent and good. But they serving dishes were not kept filled and warm and I had to keep asking for this or that. Staff should be on top of that. But to be fair it was an extremely busy and crowded July 4 weekend.

we travel often to Santa Maria and we usually stay at the Radisson. they were fully booked for this weekend so I decided to join best western rewards and give it a shot. I have to tell you the rooms were amazing extremely comfortable high-end bedding and everything that we need it. it was like having a five star hotel on a small budget. we spent $264 on a holiday for one night in the king suite in fact we stayed in North Carolina suit. I had a better experience here than I ever have at Radisson which is average 389 a night for the same service. everybody is courteous and polite and let's not mention breakfast is included. I was pleasantly surprised how good the breakfast was they had homemade fresh biscuits and gravy waffles eggs and bacon and sausage choice coffee milk orange juice apple juice. add a variety of fruit-overall I recommend this hotel in Santa Maria to be your first choice.. I also enjoyed using the hot tub and swimming pool

Our room was not cleaned at the end of our first night's stay and we didn't get a wake up call that we requested. We had to request fresh towels. The breakfast was good and the staff was very cordial.

Just horrible experience with this hotel. It's expensive like a 4-5 start modern hotel, but opened up as ordinary dirty and very noisy road motel. We came to a breakfast at 9am, there was a line from guests, food is finished and no coffee served, because coffee machine broken. Two nights we spent here, someone was arguing around, having sex above our heads, fired fireworks in the backyard. A server man, broke into our room at 10am, ignored a privacy notice. Be aware.

Room is very clean, staff very accommodating, breakfast included has multiple choices, parking is very accessible and has enough parking spaces for all hotel guests, location is easy to find, very accessible to stores and lots of food places and common establishments

Good stay clean room nice suite overall a good location quiet area and the room was ready when they said it would be. Close to many amenities and restaurants so that was nice and within walking distance to some stores.

A good motel that was clean, comfortable, and had friendly staff. The breakfast had a good assortment and had a friendly attendant. We never took advantage of the pool. There is lots of stores/shops in the area within walking distance. The grounds are nice and I like the set up of the parking lot and buildings. Note that while we stayed there I think a lot of the local road workers also stayed there. So it was likely more noisy than normal. Oh and there is a creepy/funny looking rabbit/person statue that you will need to take a picture of, lol.

We often visit the Central Coast (especially now with our youngest attending UC Santa Barbara) and we always stay with Big America in Santa Maria. Ther're welcoming of our pup Buddy, and the entire staff are friendly and quick to help if needed. We honestly can't imagine staying anywhere else!

Stayed here with my family for one night on our way down to Southern California. Room was clean and a nice size and all amenities were in working order. The sofa bed was actually comfortable which is a rarity. The room was clean and we had a quiet one night stay. Did not utilize the pool facilities as we had to head back on the road early in the morning. We enjoyed the included breakfast which included a wide variety of items, we particularly enjoyed the breakfast burritos. Would definitely stay at this location again. It is also located centrally to various other food establishments. Appreciated the refrigerator as well as microwave.

This is a very nice hotel. Very nice staff, clean rooms, nice pool. The breakfast burritos are the best. They are made at the restaurant next door. The hotel might be brand new but is in very good condition and the staff takes pride in keeping it clean and feels like home. The beds are all newer and very comfortable. Not too soft not too hard. Lots of free parking in a nice side of town close to the 101.

We have stayed here several times. The rooms are comfortable and they are very pet friendly. The staff is always helpful, and the breakfast is good. It was fairly busy, but we didn't hear other guests. Would definitely stay again.

everything was great the staff, the service, and cleanness the one issue we had was acouple of drunks that were so scandalous and were so f loud at 2:00 am I had to call the front desk on them. they did aske them to shut up but then the y went into the room right above us and continued galloping in there for some time. I wish these drunks were aware and respectful of other people's privacy.

The location away from the freeway noise yet close to dining and shopping is a real positive. The friendly and efficient service was outstanding. The included breakfast featuring a fresh yogurt machine and handmade breakfast burritos was a nice surprise. Great variety of hot and cold items. Easy parking and nice size room with a bar sink and the bathroom with the toilet separate from the sink and tub is a nice feature.

I chose this through Hotels.com, figured since the rates were cheap in general in the area I was driving through on businesses, I decided to spend the extra 30 bucks for a nicer hotel/inn with better reviews and more ratings. I'm so glad I did because this was so luxurious I had to take pictures and show it off. Being that I'm from and live in Los Angeles, and travel to big cities, I have pretty high standards, and I've never stayed with Best Western before as I tend to avoid places with a front door to a noisy parking lot and opt for hotels instead. Since there were no hotels in the area, I was beyond satisfied with the room for the price. The desk check-in clerk, after telling her I requested as quiet of a room as possible, put me towards the end of the parking lot. There was a party going on about six rooms over and downstairs and this concerned me at first, but surprisingly I could not hear them it was so quiet in my room. Inside the room was breathtaking. The shower had a tiled seat/bench, and there was a separate vanity with seat that was separate from the main bathroom sink. Since there was only one king bed in there, they had enough room for two bonus chairs. It even included a wet bar. I only wish I came with guests because I basically came here to sleep in this huge luxurious place by my self since for businesses. I will definitely have to check out other Best Westerns on my future road business/leisure travels.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western in Santa Maria. I choose this hotel because it was a great/ central location for our day trips to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Los Olivos, Solvang and Lompoc. The kids enjoyed making their own waffles and a variety of other foods provided. The staff was welcoming, polite and helpful. The rooms, dining area and pool were clean and maintained.

I changed from brand X down the road from you for a reason. After 11 years of a so so experience it ended with a terrible employee. Since then I have made Best Western Santa Maria my place and only place to stay in Santa Maria. Everyone is very happy and very hospitalable . The rates are very moderate and the rooms are all very clean, well stocked and comfortable. The lobby is extremely clean and comfortable and staffed with some of the finest people you'd ever want to take care of you. I'm actually glad that I left the Brand X I'm in a much better place now.

The staff at this location were very welcoming. My family and I had a great time. This hotel is clean and centrally located near shopping and close to the beach (10-15 min drive) for the price can't beat it.

Our stay was wonderful! Robert made sure we had everything we needed each day and the rest of the staff was just as wonderful! The rooms were clean and very well well kept! Will be recommending to others!

We stayed in a suite for a night. Nice comfortable bed. Great AC. Clean and quiet. Breakfast good. Nothing we will remember, but ok. We liked the stay until the check-out where an older female employee (60+ and grey hair ) was very arrogant and had a very negative attitude towards me when I asked if I could registrate my Best Western membership to collect points. She didn´t let me...Not ok! Last impression lasts.. We will therefore choose another hotel the next time in Santa Maria.

When you pull up I was a little unsure....its on the road & there area could be better...but in all fairness the room was large & clean. It was very quiet not much around for quick food but we navigated to a Walmart & used the microwave. The shower has very good pressure the best in 14 days so far on our travels.

The rooms were good size the beads were good the linen did not smell fresh and had whirring on it and marker stains. The bathroom wS a little musty and not enough shampoo. There was no trash bags in the trash cans.

Great place centrally located reasonably priced clean room, great water pressure, good breakfast, friendly staff. Close to liquor stores, grocery stores, fast food, starbucks and dutch bros coffee within walking distance

From check in to check out everything was great. The staff were extremely courteous, friendly, and helpful. The location was good. Really enjoyed the layout of our room. It was a first floor room with a king bed

The room has TV, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, study desk, lounge chair, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. There is a separate sink for the coffee maker. There is a separate sitting area in the bathroom for those who need to apply make-up. This "stall" has extra mirrors and lighting. The place is well kept with no signs of wear and tear. Upon walking in, the room is very clean. I would come back again if I am in the area. It was a short drive off of Highway 101.

This is one of our favorite hotels when staying in the Santa Maria, CA area. Whether for business or to take in some of the great sites and wineries in the area this hotel meets and exceeds expectations every time. BREAKFAST is Ammmazing! Yummy! Rooms are clean and staff is fantastic! Thanks Big America!

While driving down 101 we decided to stop for the night in Santa Maria. In looking at the Trip Advisor reviews we ended up at this BW Plus . We were very happy with that choice. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean, and they had a nice breakfast in the morning. It wasn't a big breakfast, but it was enough to get our day started. Would stay here again if travelling through the area.

A very clean Hotel good breakfast coffee staff are really friendly very helpful big parking lot would be great for family traveling around the area or just passing by. I would definitely come back here in the future.

This hotel that is more of a motel is terribly over-priced. Our room had broken fixtures, bathroom door was falling apart, no power to the outlet by bed...just way too many things wrong in a really dated and unmaintained property. The only upside is that the staff were friendly and helpful.

This was a great place to stay as a business traveler. They had breakfast early in the morning and were very helpful and the Internet was good and parking was easy. I really appreciate the no-nonsense businesslike approach and the quick service.

It was a Sunday night stay so we experienced none of the contractor sleepover noise etc issues others have complained about. There really is an elevator you just have to ask for it. Some people do smoke outside which is way too close to the rooms which I don't like. But the staff is exceedingly helpful and nice. Breakfast was adequate; not a fan of the burritos though there were other very basic options it met our needs. Would stay again if I were in Santa Maria. Clean.

Staff is welcoming, and although we have had an issue on occasion, it has always been addressed immediately. We like that there is a room that accommodates us(as grandparents) to take more than one or two grandchildren with us.

A little further off the high way than the other big chains but this is worth the extra few tenths of a mile; big clean room and lots of dining options within walking distance. Great breakfast burrito too!

Cockroaches in room. No cleaning service for the rooms. Deplorable substandard conditions of hotel. Unprofessional staff. Providing know healthy solutions whatsoever. Excuses and blaming everything to COVID-19. Unhealthy, undesirable “breakfast” at lobby. Please stay in other hotels nearby.

Stayed here just one night while wine tasting in Santa Maria. As a Diamond member, got upgraded to a suite, which was basically just a sitting area with a sofa bed, desk, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and extra TV in the front section of the room. However, with the placement of the desk, it was a bit tight to pull our rollerboards around the U-shaped hall leading from the front room to the bedroom. The rooms are a bit more run down than most of the BW "Plus" hotels I've stayed at. Still, our stay was perfectly adequate. Location, not too far from the freeway, was excellent. The staff was very friendly. The included breakfast burritos were surprisingly good (delivered by an outside caterer). There was also coffee and fruit. On the website, it says that your room key can be shown at about half a dozen local wine tasting rooms for "complimentary tasting" (staff clarified it actually meant two-for-one). But those deals had been arranged pre-COVID so the hotel staff didn't know if they would still be honored a year and a half later. We checked at the one winery on the list that we went to (Foxen) and it took them awhile to figure out if they would still honor it, but they did. I don't think the staff even knew about the deal, but we showed a screen shot. My main complaint was that the rug was filthy, though hard to see given the design of the carpet. I had spilled some water by the bed and used a white towel to wipe it up. The towel was almost black by the time I was done!

Best Western in Santa Maria is our motel of choice for the central coast. We have been back, usually at least twice a month. The service is always above expectations. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed staying for three nights at this outstanding property. The rooms were very, very comfortable (super clean and remodeled) and they have an excellent jacuzzi (but the pool was too chilly for us). However, their "grab and god" COVID-19-esque breakfasts are outstanding, They give you so much food but the real treat is the very filling homemade bacon, egg and potato burritos (served hot at the front desk), with great salsa, which are made fresh every morning from their onsite restaurant. Be aware that their night rate vary greatly between Sun-Thu versus Fr-Sat., by as must as $60 extra on the weekend (e.g., $109 vs. $169). However, if this fits into your budget, I highly recommend this property. Santa maria is an excellent and much more affordable (and possibly safer) alternative to Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo. This property has an excellent location (we walked next door to two good restaurants) and this is closer to special gem locations like the Oso Flaco Beach State Park

The lobby staff Wass very nice. Room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Perfect for traveling with my dogs. It also has accessable dog park àrea to walk my dogs. The bathroom was large and lighting was nice and bright.

Was an okay night, but really noisy. No fault of the hotel. Was next to stairs and people that were up all night going up and down. A lot of rooms where you can pull up outside your door, I did not have one. Cute, clean room. Felt safe as a solo traveler. Near I-101, convenient for passing through. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I would ask for a room away from the stairs and where I could park outside my room door. Expensive and not of value, but my stay was on the weekend. Seems BW is starting to jack up their prices - to make up for their loss during Covid? Not sure, but their rates have gone up more and more during this past month… and misty are always sold out. I am a Diamond member but will probably start staying elsewhere now. Too bad, but BW shouldn't pass this expense off to their customers.

Hotel is centrally located close to stores restaurants and more. Pismo Beach is just about a 10-15 minute drive, the rooms are affordable as well as comfortable beds, water pressure is good, breakfast burritos are fulfilling but the internet is sluggish and falls in and out other than that awesome place.

Outside of the hot tub, which never works and I have been coming here for years, most things work fine-- great WiFi, hot water, lots of water pressure, multiple cable TVs, heating and AC, etc. The King Size with the extra room is the best deal in the area (if a couple can sleep on the pull out soft and another couple on the King bed, two couples can have their own rooms for around $100. Thats unbeatable!). Both the front and rear windows open, which allows air flow which is SUPER important to me. Also means there is a rear exit in case of emergency, if on first floor anyways. Liquor store, Starbucks, 7-11, Taco Bell, Burger King, Pizza and much more is all within walking distance. BBQ grill works great. Last, pool is never heated (gets plenty of sun though) and as stated hot tub never works.

This Best Western offered excellent value. Checked in and out were quick. The facility is huge and plenty of parking. The room is very big, clean and appointed. The bed is firm and comfortable. Love the huge bathroom and a vanity sitting area. A bar sink is also a nice touch. Love the tasty breakfast burrito and modified breakfast with fruits and pastries. A little surprise so many construction workers stayed there. Definitely will book this place again when visiting this area next time.

We came there super early ( 7:30am ) which is check-in hours 3pm right?... front desk name ELISHA help us to get a room for us for my kids also to do their online class. PLUS! A bonus of their hot breakfast burritos. She's SUPER NICE! I will give this lady a five star ⭐️ oh! and also the lobby has 2 adorable cats. I was surprised the room's are not bad knowing it's “pet friendly “ the sofa bed looks new to me, carpet don't smell like pet smells ( if you know what I mean ) I like the room also. Perfect stays for my family. Thank you ELISHA !

I planned on giving them 4 stars. Then we tried out the breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. The pull out couch was difficult to operate but comfy. The pool area was clean and heated. Staff seemed friendly. Breakfast consisted of oatmeal, fruit, and undercooked potato burritos with a hint of egg. We have stayed at multiple hotels that offer breakfast during the pandemic that were far superior. So don't blame covid. For the price, I'd rather stay at one of those. If their breakfast improves or the price goes down we'd be fine with returning.

Stayed here for three nights with my dog. Perfect rooms for us. The rooms were clean and well equipped with enough coffee pods, and towels. and best of ll the mini fridge cooled all our beverages! I'll stay there again when I'm in the area

5 star in terms of ease of checkout/ in, size of room and bathroom (big!), overall cleanliness, and no pet fee. -1 star for hair on floor in toilet area of bathroom, betraying it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, lumpy pillow and price (though everything in that area is ridiculously expensive).

Huge room had everything I needed. Bathroom was beautiful and clean. Mattress was firm and sheets were soft. Free bottles of water and grab-and-go breakfast were great. My dog was with me and we were both comfortable for the night.

Arrived on a weekday afternoon in March. Check in was easy and quick. Masks required and everyone I saw on property was wearing one. Bottled water was available in lobby. Room looked very tidy and seemed clean. There were no extra amenities, like pens, papers and maps which I found to be very attentive during COVID. There was bottled water, coffee & maker, microwave and fridge in the room. Black out curtains worked great. Had a king room and the bathroom was huge with a vanity, sink shower/tub area and the toilet was in a separate little room. Bathroom amenities (soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner) were v nice. Parking lot was well lit at night. Check out was easy. Drop key in a basket in the lobby and request receipt by email, if desired.

Would stay again! Very quiet. Never even heard anyone! I agree with what my wife said. But I have one thing that pissed me off. They would not let me pay for my room with American money cash. I don't mind leaving a credit card for incidentals if there are incidentals but I should not be deprived of using my countries money to do business with company that does business in my country. I know it was posted on their website but I didn't take the reservation and we didn't find this out until we got to the counter. I don't believe this is even legal to do

All the staff and the hotel itself was amazing and I would definitely stay there again. I love the fact that the hotel is close by restaurants and stores as well. This hotel is very clean and very comfortable and I recommend for everyone to stay there.

Great location very comfortable beds, great huge room. Receptionist was very helpful made sure if we needed anything from her to to ask. Clean, breakfast was modified due to Covid but had a nice sized burrito that was offered. Will be staying here again in the future.

I loved the automated texts from before arriving, and continued checking to make sure everything was fine, I also loved the half wall mirror and large burrito breakfast. I was able to print my work assignments at the business center. Most staff was nice and excelent service, although some were not so friendly.

From the start ,the the view coming into the property was attractive. A well anointed lobby with beautiful chandelier lighting, a very nice pool area, and a well laid out exterior plan that practically insures a quiet guest room. Guest services were great from my initial reservation by phone, and from check-in , to check out. The breakfast was better than most of the current Covid-19 breakfast offerings.The pool area was very nice with the pool heated quite comfortably. We will definitely be staying at this property again when our travels bring us here again.

Traveling with my partner this fall during COVID. This hotel was a really good price, a fairly nice room, it was clean and comfortable, perfect for a home base to visit surrounding communities. I would totally stay here again.

The hotel was dirty, had food on floor of room, hair in the bathroom and the staff was not friendly or helpful at all. Charged my card twice and I am still fighting to get the extra charges reversed. I do not recommend at all!

Had a wonderful stay at this location. The staff of the front desk was attentive and extremely pleasant. After my first night, which we were only planning on the one night, extended our stay on account of everything being Above expectation. The room was better than expected. I try to stay at the Best Western chain because the quality is consistent. This stay certainly did not disappoint me! I got the room with the king-sized bed and it went over my expectations! It even had a wet bar for coffee. The bathroom was spacious. In fact, the room was spacious! I will definitely be returning another time!

The staff is extremely nice and rooms are very clean and comfortable. I like that there is large bathroom and dressing area. Also having a refrigerator in the room makes it really nice and convenient.

Everyone was so nice And helpful we got a flat tire they put air in it and gave us information on a tire shop we went on our way home regardless COVID 19 we had a great trip I recommend this hotel to anyone

This was a very last minute overnight road trip. We were looking for not too expensive, but clean inside and out. IMMACULATE!! You could tell this hotel staff takes pride in the cleanliness and service at this property. Staff was friendly. We called and asked for extra pillows and a few minutes later were met at the door with pillows and a friendly face....and...discovered an amazing "hole in the wall" called the OAXACENA restarurant....chiilaquillas with mole and the MENUDO is to die for!!! AUTHENTIC!!! The restaurant is in a shopping center in between a laundrymat and lil market.

The rooms were clean and nice even though many "extras" had to be removed for safety. The area was quiet and we saw dogs staying in rooms... but we never heard the dogs! The staff was very nice. We will come again (and maybe bring OUR dog!) :-)

Perfect for business trips. Myself and coworkers stay at this hotel at least 5 times a month for business. The staff here are very accommodating and always friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here during the COVID pandemic, and this hotel did an excellent job spacing out guests and ensuring safety and cleanliness during such a complicated time. Because their kitchen was not allowed to be open yet due to government restrictions, they offered breakfast burritos from a nearby restaurant. This was such a clever way to support a local business and continue to provide excellent customer service - especially in such a difficult financial time, it would have been easy to say, "sorry, we're not allowed to serve breakfast so it's no longer included", but they went above and beyond instead. The hotel is also extremely pet friendly - I stayed with my two small dogs and did not pay any pet fees. As I was checking out, I signed up for the Best Western rewards/loyalty program - I'll definitely be back!

Very fine motel: clean, fully functional, economically priced, friendly and helpful staff. This is a winner on its own merits, but compared to most of the flea-bags in the motel world, this is a real stand-out.

I love this hotel. Located near grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and freeway. The rooms have always been clean. Staff is super helpful and nice. The breakfast is great it's a little different now dur to social distancing. Still good.

The staff were friendly and went out their way for us and it was the nicest motel room I have ever stayed at. Loved the vanity in the bathroom and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! The pillows were soft and the whole abeance of the motel was pleasant!

The motel rooms were okay but the walls are very thin. The group in the room next to us were noisy and it was difficult for the kids to fall asleep. We called the front desk to complain and we could hear them go to the room but unfortunately they were still noisy until well past 11pm! As a result, we will not be staying here again!

Over the past 15 years, I always chose Best Western when I come into town to visit my relatives. Every stay is better than the last with improvements every time. The rooms are updated, smell clean and are clean. The Continental breakfast has many options. You will not leave hungry unless your picky. We enjoyed our stay...once again.

We found ourselves needing a place to stay fairly late in the day on a Tuesday. This is a very popular place, and we were told my central BW reservations that there were no first floor rooms available. I phoned the property directly and was very happy that there was one room available, and for us that room was absolutely perfect - right next to the dog walking area. The room was clean, the breakfast was good and the staff was super. The room rate was excellent and were were very pleased our our stay. Yes, there are a lot of trades people who stay here, but the only problem they caused was some very large vehicles blocked as many as 5 parking spots instead of choosing to park in the ample large vehicle parking area. We will return to Santa Maria and will stay here again.

We stayed here for a night while traveling from San Fran to LA. I called the hotel before making our booking to ask about parking etc. Hotel staff mentioned the parking is outside rooms and recommended we take a ground floor room as after a long drive it will be easier to not have to take our luggage upstairs. I also mentioned to the hotel staff that I would like to pay with a different card at check-in and not the one used to make the booking. Hotel room was good size and warm, seems like the heater was turned on to get the room ready for our arrival. Staff was welcoming and helpful and there is tea coffee available at front desk at any time. Bathroom was really good size. Breakfast is included in the price and it was pretty good. Only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars is that even though I told the hotel while making the booking to not charge my card used for making the booking, they still did. I even rang the hotel to let them know that we are arriving late. Our international credit card got charged with a service fees also but since it was only one night's fare we decided to let it be. Other than that no other issues and happy with the hotel.

Nice front desk. Room was on the 2nd floor. Had to drag suitcase up the stairs. Most of the "guests" seemed like construction workers who had their doors open (windows don't open) with shirts off drinking beer and smoking...both cigarettes and pot. As a professional and a women, this seemed a bit uncomfortable for me to stay there. In addition, the room did not smell "fresh". Couldn't imagine sleeping there with no fresh air, door closed and window locked. No way would I open the window even if I could, did not seem safe. I travel all the time and I have never checked out with in 30 min of arriving. Checked into the Hampton up the street, brand new hotel, clean, fresh and I feel safe. Beautiful view, a Wendys in the parking lot and the only $4 more a night.

stayed there for one night on our highway 1 road trip. Nice, clean, good value. Was a very pleasant stay. The area is not great but it was fine as a stop on our way. The service at the front desk was excellent.

The staff was courteous and professional. The room was clean and available when we arrived The staff let us check in early in fact. The room faced the parking lot and was fairly quite. The curtains kept the room dark so it was easy to get a full night's rest. The included breakfast was ok - buffet style, with plenty of food choices. Overall a pleasant stay for my wife and I.

Enjoyed a post Christmas vacation with my wife in this area as there are many nearby attractions and other points of interest in this area. Very good restaurants and shops in nearby Solvang and Buellton areas.

The price is right, the shower is fantastic. The 12:00 check out worked very well for me. Clean room, friendly and professional staff. Conveniently located to Francisco's restaurant next door. I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting Santa Maria.

The hotel rooms are spacious, clean, and the staff are very accommodating. The fitness center is modest but clean and well kept. The spa and heated pool are also nice perks...especially in the winter. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in town.

The Room was clean and the beds were comfortable! There was an available elevator and we put that to good use, as the steps,though not steep, were something we could not use. ! The Breakfast the next morning was of good quality, variety, hot and delicious!!!!

This old lady that works at this specific location in SANTA MARIA evidently has been working there since namm because I've never seen a worker so entitled and so DISRESPECTFUL not just towards myself but staff as well

Very impressed by the quality of the rooms and the breakfast. A bit pricey for the location, I wouldn't be able to stay here every time I came up to visit my dad, but since my sister was coming too I bit the bullet and paid for the night. Extremely nice rooms, I would rate higher except for the price.

I stayed one night on a business trip and found this BW to be a great place to stay. My room was clean, very comfortable and the staff was pleasant and attentive. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and hot oatmeal. I especially liked the choices for add-ins for my oatmeal. The room furnishings were in good condition and tasteful. Very comfortable bed. All in all, a great place for me to stay when I'm in Santa Maria.

BE Santa Maria was a great place to stay. Staff is friendly, professional and helpful. Room was clean and safe and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. Close to Pismo Beach and ALL would stay here again if in the area

In Central CA during a vacation to Pismo Beach, this hotel is spacious, clean, serves a full and delicious breakfast, and best of all is only 15 minutes away from downtown PB. Just the location and setting alone makes this a great stay, but what truly helped make this vacation great was the exceptional service of Roxanne, Theresa, and Ashley. Roxanne helped make sure our breakfast experience was top notch, Theresa helped resolve any billing concerns, and Ashley helped set up our vacation with relevant tips and recommendations for thre area. When in the area again, we will undoubtedly be here once more!

This BW is a double bank of rooms in a horseshoe around the large parking lot. Although on a main street, rooms near the back are quiet. Nice lobby and small pool next to it with tables and lounges. Breakfast was better than average. Room was a bit worn, but not yet shabby. Loved that our King Suite actually had a separate bedroom (with a door and everything). It was spacious, except for the bathroom, and had a sink in the living room.

Stayed here on our drive up the coast, as we had tired of paying “beach prices” and were looking for something less expensive. This place was way better than we expected it to be. The pool was a bit on the chilly side, but the hot tub was huge and didn't seem overly hot, so I happily sat in it while my kids jumped between it and the pool. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the breakfast was one of the better ones we've had. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal and yogurt with all the fixings, cereal, fruit, and a waffle maker. The one complaint my kids had was that the sofa bed was uncomfortable and they could feel springs. I'd be hesitant to sleep an adult on it, but the regular king bed was great! Overall, I'd highly recommend this to anyone!

great check in, older facility with rooms redone nicely, but shower head was turned upside down and knob for hot water loose, got scalded, then froze trying to adjust it, also remote sporadic, needs batteries, who checked this room out? breakfast was great, my 39th night out this year, this one is tops, but in older neighborhood off the freeway, no express check out offered so I asked and it wasn't done. you decide...as for me, I'll pass on Santa Maria altogether

Make sure if Theresa (Front Desk Manage) is working- when you go into the lobby, make sure you tell her what room youre staying in and the first and last name the room is under before you make any move- so youre not harassed and questioned

Stayed here for two nights on business. Hotel arrangements were made by my employer so I had no idea what I was getting. I was pleasantly surprised by the roomy guest rooms. The bath and dressing area was particularly large. A nice surprise. Decor was a bit dated, but in good shape. The property has outdoor corridors, which I'm not a fan of, but it was reasonably quiet for being on a busy street. Breakfast was the usual fare, decent, but hard to get to in the crushing crowd of tourists on Sunday morning. Still, I'd give the place a solid recommend for a clean, quiet stay in town.

We asked for a room away from the main street and the staff was very accommodating. The room itself was clean and fairly quiet but outside area by stairs could use a bit of cleaning up. And the breakfast was the best one we've ever had in all our car travels. Lots of hot choices as well as other fresh choices. Would stay here again if in the area.

We stayed here one night on our way to Southern California, best breakfast with lots of choices. Largest eating space so far on our travels. We were going to stay in solving on our way home 2 days later but liked this place so well we booked another night. Excellent place.

My favorite place to stay in Santa Maria. Large comfortable room with amazing bathroom. Very affordable. Good free breakfast. The one elevator is a little far from most of the rooms but stairs are everywhere.

First time staying here, will consider again when in town. Area felt good and secure, no issues restaurants are near by. Freeway entrance is near, mall is not that far Pismo Beach right off the 101 freeway

This property is older but very clean and comfortable and appears to have been recently renovated. The price seemed a bit on the high end, but it was still lower than other chains in the area and close enough to drive to Pismo Beach to watch the sunset! The expanded breakfast is great – scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, oatmeal, cereals, yogurt, pastries, breads, waffle maker, etc. and juice and coffee. The breakfast room is very large and comfortable. The only “con” in our opinion was the elevator. Yes, they have ONE elevator but it is at one end of the hotel which is a “U” shape. If you are lucky, your room is near the elevator – otherwise, you walk from the elevator ALL the way around to the other side! Luckily our room was in the middle of the "U" so once we took our luggage up the elevator to the 2nd floor, we used the stairs to come and go. Our stay was just one night, but very pleasant and we had a good rest before heading up the coast the next day.

We stayed here as an overnight stop on vacation. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, recommending a great local place to eat. The room was clean and comfortable and we'll above average for this type if hotel. The only drawback is this us a traditional outdoor entrance hotel, and we prefer an indoor entrance for security. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel, pretty good value for the price.

Our room was clean, well stocked, and nicely decorated. We asked for (and received) a 2nd floor room with 2 queens. After the 1st night, we asked to see a room with a king bed, and, although it was nice, we decided to stay put. They have a nice breakfast available with a reasonable amount of seating. There is also a pool & spa, plus a barbecue in the patio area. Although the manager (Theresa) always had a smile, the only thing we missed was a rack with brochures for things to do in the area. Other than that, a good place to stay! Enjoy

My husband and I stopped here for the night on our way up the coast. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was. The employees were friendly and accommodated our request for a 1st floor room. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was a bit more than most hotel free breakfasts. Bacon, potatoes, biscuits and gravy in addition to waffles and bagels and other pastries and yogurt. We were happy with our choice to stay here!

Here for a single night on a family trip across the West coast of America. The accomodation was great, clean and staff were very helpful. The hotel did have a large number of workers staying which was fine for us, we were up an out early but could put some people off with the noise. All in all a good stop and convenient for the access roads.

There were three of us. Had this large room with two beds & a couch. Table with seven chairs & a small kitchenette. Very comfortable. Large bathroom & two closets. Will stay there again on my next visit to Santa Maria.

If you are passing by, it's a nice hotel. Staff is friendly and the breakfast was ok. Unfortunately, there was only disposable ustensiles and plates. I would have appreciated something more eco-friendly, to produce less garbage. Room was clean but a bit old.

I was apprehensive when I drove up and saw that the doors opened to the outside of the building. But our room was large and nice and clean. Breakfast was really good...soft biscuits, which we never find at hotel breakfasts!

I made this reservation months in advance. My charge card expiration date was approaching and I called and spoke to Monique who efficiently took care of the problem and in the process had me looking forward to my stay, we spoke about the area and the hotel. My family loved the bathroom separate from the sink (my son is always manipulating the bathroom) We were sadden to hear that Shaw's Restaurant was no longer in business but we found another place to get our Santa Maria Bar B Q fix. The breakfast was great and more than enough for the start of our day.

We stayed here for a few nights on our way from San Francisco to LA and had a lovely time. The room was very large with a massive kingsized bed that was extremely comfortable as well as a large sofa / sitting area. In addition to the large bedroom there was also a vanity area, walk in wardrobe, and separate toilet all in the bathroom - much more than we expected in a motel. The whole room was very clean and well maintained. Included in the room rate is a "free" breakfast which included a waffle making machine (the waffles were amazing) as well as bacon, eggs, cereals, bagels etc - more than enough to set you up nicely for the day ahead. The motel is extremely well located with supermarkets and restaurants all located within walking distance. The pool area, whilst small, was very clean and extremely well maintained. We would definitely recommend this motel for a few days stop over if visiting Santa Maria.

This was our 3rd time staying here over a 20 year period, and each and every time has been wonderful - clean rooms, super comfy beds, and a great breakfast! It's just nice to know that the consistency of excellence over 20 years hasn't changed - look forward to our next stay whenever that may be.

Could have stayed there much longer but had to leave after one night due to making a roundtrip. very good price for service. waffles for breakfast!!!!! Also loved the really weird easter decoration in the lobby.

We have stayed here last year and had no problems so stayed here again, the hotel is quiet and comfortable. We especially like the hotel cats that visit and greet people. The breakfast in nice and the staff here are very welcoming.

The entire staff at the Best Western in Santa Maria was fantastic and very friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very high quality with several options to choose from. The fitness room was perfect.

Extremely nice hotel with a large bathroom and a wonderful make up mirror. It has a small fridge and microwave for convenience. Water bottles are included if you dont want to drink the tap water. Oh my! The breakfast was incredible! Bacon is included.

Our stay was just fantastic -- we arrived during the final 10 minutes of a citywide power outage that had been going on for the previous two hours. The front desk staff was handling the chaos extremely well, and they were explaining to us that we did not have to stay if we did not want to when the power came back on. The room was delightful, and the included breakfast was far better than I expected given that it came with the room. Finally, I was touched to receive a text several hours after we checked out letting me know that an item was found in our room. I called the hotel and they quickly mailed it back to my home address. Wonderful service!!

Ive always stayed at this hotel for business, and have been pleased until my recent stay. After checkin I went to my room and after settling in I heard a noise and found a cat under my bed. He came out, stretched and went to the door to get out. Good thing I didnt have my dog with me. Breakfast was a joke. there are not enough tables and the tour groups take up most of them. If you see a tour bus in the parking lot (taking up 20 spaces) then make sure you get to the breakfast before 7. After 7 the food is gone, they are like locust, devouring everything in site. I tried to get coffee and all three pots were empty. No oatmeal and a majority of them are rude. I just checked out and went to mcdonalds. Too bad its not being ran properly, ill have to find another place to stay in town.

The location of the hotel was super. Easy access to 101. The hotel is comfortable. Breakfast was good. Rubbery eggs were the only drawback. There is a restaurant on the corner that is actually really good. It is just a walk across the parking lot making it quite convenient. The property was clean.

This was a very special weekend, my mother's 84 th birthday and finally got her children together. 2 of her children and spouse stay at the hotel. I stay here every time I come to Santa Maria to see how my mother is doing. They always have been great. But this time it was beyond excellent. All the employees I encountered went over and above to help make this weekend so very precious to my family.. We plan to come back soon and more of my family coming with me for Mother's Day. Stayed here for one night as we continued further north. We had a king size bed, which was very comfortable. Bathroom was spacious as well. Room was clean and Wi-Fi ran smooth. We did use the fitness center and made great use of it. It's a small space, but it has the basics and we were creative to get a great workout in. Breakfast was delicious as there were plenty of options. Staff was great and welcoming! Would definitely stay here again.

Huge building with a lot of parking spaces which are free. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was Ok, had a good night's sleep. Unfrtunately there was no restaurant for dinner though so we had to go next door. Great breakfast, it was served in a meeting room next to reception. All in all, very good hotel, recommended.

My husband and I came to Santa Maria for a friends wedding and the service was spectacular. The front desk receptionist was able to get us an early check in so we had time to make it to the wedding. The breakfast was hot and fresh. The pool and spa was amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

We spent a night while attending a wedding in Nipomo and had a lovely stay at this hotel. Our king room was spacious and very clean. It appeared to have been newly remodeled. We especially liked that the bathroom had two areas for getting ready with mirrors and outlets for both. We slept well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty, the breakfast area was pleasant, and the breakfast staff was exceptional! We will definitely stay in a Best Western Plus in the future!

We spent two nights at the Best Western Plus Big America, Santa Maria, CALIFORNIA. Check in was very easy. The room was huge and nicely appointed. Quiet stay and on a weekend, too. Large lobby provided ample space for breakfast as well and business.

This is a large property with lots of rooms. It is used by a lot of groups and tours. We were just a couple, but unlike a lot of 'tour' hotels, were greeted warmly and treated as important as the repeat tour groups. We booked a room, but were given a suite which was a nice surprise. The hotel is located on Broadway, which is the primary, very busy, street. For a quiet stay, I would request a room as far back on the property as possible. The room was very clean and well appointed. The breakfast was the usual Best Western fare - not the best, but certainly adequate and what one expects from this chain.

I was a little wary about staying here given the outside appearance of this hotel, but it did not disappoint. Despite the outside "motel-like" appearance, this hotel is just like other Best Westerns, if not one of the better ones. Our room was immaculate. Two things I always check upon first entering the room is if the pillows and sheets smell clean, and if there is any hair/etc. in the corners of the bathroom. Our room passed my tests with flying colors. I only have one not-too-big complaint. At around 2am and also at 7am, there were large knocking sounds. It kind of sounded like someone bouncing a basketball next-door or outside our apartment just a few times. I assume it was the sound of suitcases or room cleaning carts riding over bumps on the balcony. I don't think it was anything that could have been helped. Otherwise, it was a very quiet, clean and well-insulated room.

Have stayed at this location several times. Always clean and comfortable rooms. The staff welcomes you with a smile. Nice breakfast selection. A very well maintained property. Maintenance and cleaning staff very obviously working hard to maintain the the property. Thank you.

We just stayed here last week on a road trip. Rooms are big and clean, actually very big and clean. Breakfast was good and the pool/ hot tub area is good size and well maintained. Would totally stay here again though the town offers little but is handy for getting to Santa Barbara.

Anytime we travel within staying distance of this property we will be staying here. They met every expectation for me and my family. Quiet, clean and comfortable room and louge area. I asked in advance for suggested events and housing developments for this area an their staff gave me great suggestions. Clean pool, secure and centrally located for restaurants. Piano in the lobby that is available for those that can play to use. My grandson is a DJ and singer and was allowed to entertain them if a song. I have paid more for less, in my opinion price could have been higher. Great place.

This is an ok stopover but nothing great. Architecture on arrival is imposing, not welcoming. Counter staff was good but we had two instances of staff peeping into our windows, which left us feeling creeped out. The room smelled dank on arrival but improved when we opened the windows. They do allow pets, which worked for us. Included breakfast was ok at best, undercooked bacon is particularly scary when traveling. Three stars overall.

This is an great hotel for visiting the wine country or just passing through. The front desk staff were warm and helpful shout out to Krystal who was terrific in helping us get into the perfect room! Warm cookies in the afternoon great you (who could ask for anything more???), Rooms are very clean, towels are really nice, white with a waffle design. This a green hotel with no plastic in the waste bins, ice cooler or laundry bags (ask at the front desk if you need something). They furnish the rooms with 2 complimentary bottles of water, along with coffee, microwave and refrigerator. Beds were a bit too firm for us but pillows were fine (although we do travel with our own), sheets were comfortable, a/c worked very nicely and we were comfortable overall. Breakfast was good, bacon was a nice surprise, scrambled eggs were ok and probably better than many Diners. I would definitely recommend this motel and rate it higher than 3 stars!

Stayed here for one night with my family. The room was ordinary but clean and spacious. Ample parking. Nice lobby with friendly staff. The gym was small but adequate. Ordinary and a bit dirty pool. WiFi didn't work very well. Substandard breakfast. A bit overpriced.

But the room just didn't feel clean, especially the carpet. And for some reason, the A/C actually made the room feel more humid and damp. We had a suite which was small but workable. The kitchenette area was tiny but at least it and the seating area were well separated from the back bedroom. The service was great; super nice at the desk. And the main lobby area was attractive and nicely connected to the eating area. Breakfast was good and well stocked. The pool, though not huge, was nice, and it had a decent gym - everything you'd need. For this part of the trip I definitely liked the hotel more than the town. Sorry Santa Marians. A cleaner, less damp room and this is easy a 4 star review.

We decided to take a trip and explore the coast of California after we got off of a cruise to Alaska. Since we were Best Western Rewards members.. we stayed in this hotel exclusively. I have to say, that this one is the best all around that we have stayed in. It's very clean, well thought out rooms and very friendly staff. I don't know if these Floridians will every come this way again, but if we do, we will definitely stay again!

We were able to park in front of our room and access the room from the parking lot which is a great convenience if you have a lot of luggage. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and professional. The room was nicely decorated and somewhat unique in that you could close off the bathroom and closet area and there was a separate room for the toilet. The room had microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room was pleasant and spacious. All in all, a very nice hotel.

The hotel itself is quite nice. The problem is the guests! The hotel is set up motel style, with doors opening on to the parking lot. Guests who smoke felt it fine to hang out in the parking lot and in front of rooms in groups and talk (VERY LOUDLY) well past 10 pm. Kids were running around on the outside balcony well past 11 pm. I had to call the front desk TWICE to get some quite, which finally happened around 11:30 pm. The smoking situation could be rectified if the hotel designated a smoking section - the covered area opposite the lobby entrance would be ideal. This would at least help with the crowds of burly men hanging out in front of room doors - which didn't make me feel safe - and I am a big man myself.

This is a very nice place to stay. It's centrally located and shopping and dining is very near by. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Maid service is excellent, they go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.

Very friendly staff will welcome you to a great hotel with many amenities, lovely rooms, shuttle service, and yummy breakfast that is much larger than regular hotel breakfast. The people here really make this newly refurbished hotel a pleasure to stay at. We book the same room every year, and when we arrived the previous guests had a late checkout, so they offered us a small suite for a discounted rate....so great, great room!

Room was more than expected. Breakfast had many choices. Staff was wonderful and very helpful on all shifts. Easy parking and right off of a main street. Internet allowed us to do key research for the area.

Enjoyed our four night stay at the BW Santa Maria. The room was spacious, nicely appointed and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast well above average for hotels of this category. The staff members were all courteous and professional and the room rate was quite competitive for this area. We would definitely stay again.

We rolled in late on Saturday night. Quick check in. Very friendly posse at the front desk. Room was clean, comfy beds, quality table and chairs, great TV channels, loved the oversized mirrors (tweens felt like celebs), and ample breakfast. The spacious sink area was elegantly designed and very functional. Separate toilet area with shower. Overall a comfy, secure, amazing start to our spring break road trip!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, I was with my daughter on our way to CAL POLY SLO. We arrived really late and the room was very comfortable and clean. The next day we got up early and the breakfast was delicious!!!

The room was clean, and comfortable. It was mostly quiet, except for a person who was knocking on a room door for about 10 minutes at approximately 6am . This Best Western has outdoor hallways, so any noise seemed to come from the outside. The inner walls provided peace and quiet. The breakfast was a disappointment - wet eggs, soggy bacon, and mushy cold potatoes. Oh well, I wish I liked oatmeal!

I arrived at 10pm with two teenage boys in tow. We had driven five hours to get to Santa Maria for a family gathering. I felt welcome from the first interaction. The ladies behind the desk checked me in quickly and greeted me by name. I felt like I had just arrived at the home of a friend. I asked what time the pool reopened, as my boys were really looking forward to a swim. They let them swim, with the instruction that they not get too loud. The hot tub automatically turns off at 11. At 11, someone came outside and asked if we would like to use it longer and manually turned it back on. My boys were ecstatic! The room was large and comfortable, but the restroom was amazing. It was like a master bathroom, not the teeny hotel bathrooms you usually see. It contained a large closet and a well lit vanity. Breakfast was delicious! Eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, biscuits, gravy, country potatoes, toast, bagels, danishes, muffins, 4 kinds of cereal, and hot oatmeal. My boys were stuffed (and as anyone with teenage boys knows, filling the belly of a teenage boy is not an easy thing to do!) When it was time to check out, my boys did not want to leave. We truly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.

the room layout was nice, with full length mirrors to appear more spacious, but both beds in the suite were not comfortable to sleep in, could not determine until the first night was done, did not want to try a different room.

This was the best motel at best rate I've stayed at during my vacation in CA. Price very reasonable, staff courteous and above and beyond helpful. Breakfast included nice variety of hot foods, i.e. eggs, bacon, etc and fresh fruit and other items. Highly recommend this motel. Don't count on all Best Westerns to be this great tho. Staying at one tonight in Arroyo Grande that is nothing like the 1 in Santa maria.

Really nice long grounds. Rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The bed was really comfortable. The basket was probably the second best we've ever had. Real eggs! And good bacon. We stayed in a suite because there was nothing else left. Really nice suite.

As a rule, I like Best Westerns; they are generally consistently good places to stay. This was one the best I have ever stayed at. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. I made the reservation last minute and they gave me a good price on a one bedroom suite on the second floor. The reservation was easy and smooth (be sure to use your rewards or AAA rate). The check in was easy and smooth and the room was clean and comfortable. They had fruit, cookies, muffins and yogurt to snack on at any time day or night, two free bottles of water in the room and a pretty decent included breakfast of eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, yogurt, muffins, potatoes, etc. and lots of coffee, tea or water. I think if other Best Westerns want to visit a model of what a good hotel with good service looks like they should visit the Best Western Plus Big America in Santa Maria; they have it down.

Room was nice, noisy though. This is a large hotel. There were many rooms around us. Being a Saturday night, I could hear coming in until about 1 am. Recommend asking for room upstairs (so no one above you) or toward corners (not next to you). Service and cleanliness were good though. Breakfast area was a little small for the amount of people, very crowded. But food was good. Basic Best Western fare...

Stayed 3 nights in a suite, not that big, but very nice with all the amenities you need, except for a safe. Clean, newly remodelled, nice breakfast, heated pool, we liked it here. Payed 83$/night including taxes was a good price for what we got. Wifi worked fine.

I stayed here for six nights in late December. My room was large, clean and comfortable. The hotel was very busy while I was there but there was always plenty of parking. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast room was crowded in the morning and it was sometimes difficult to find a seat. There is a meeting room next to the breakfast area which they opened on busy mornings which helped. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Santa Maria.

We are a NZ family and stayed here for 1 night travelling to San Fran from Vegas. Was a great stop over and breakfast was awesome. The beds were comfy and the room was tidy. Staff were great too. Breakfast was nice but definitely different from the kiwi weetbix style breakfast!

Stayed here while traveling from Northern California to Arizona after Christmas. First hotel experience for our French bulldog Otis. Very Good pet friendly hotel. Nice, clean room. Decent breakfast. I would stay here again.

Happy with the amenities and services here. Would stay here again. We loved the complimentary breakfast and newspapers. The hotel was next door to Blaze and Starbucks, so it was a very convenient location.

This was my son's 2nd stay at this hotel and he is very particular and he recommended we stay here again. It is a very nice room. The breakfast is very satisfying. The employees are very nice and helpful.

Only stayed one night but impressed with the huge and well-appointed room and bathroom. The breakfast buffet was disappointing though - the dining area lacks character and the selection of foods was very limited. Overall though a pretty good motel for a reasonable price.

Clean and good value. Appreciated the full breakfast which had a wide range. The staff was helpful and the room was very well maintained and cleaned during our five night stay. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.

Although the outward appearance of the hotel is dated, the rooms were the latest decor and up to date amenities. Very comfortable beds, large bathrooms and free internet. The breakfast was the best with lots of variety and something for everybody. I travel a lot as a pilot and stay in some very nice hotels and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

It was clean and quiet, though the "hot" tub was not heated. We usually stay at the Ramada Inn, but the rate was $50 more at the Ramada Inn so we stayed at the Best Western. We liked that it had a Blaze Pizza and a Starbucks right next door.

I would have stayed here the entire time had I known about it. I researched the internet several times 2 months before our trip and didn't see it advertised. Great location. Rooms were clean and easy to access from the parking lot. Great cookies. Price was very reasonable. Spacious room.

Good service, comfortable bed, good breakfast. guests were a little loud outside. Shower handle was a little tricky, same with sink. Overall though, I would recommend it to anyone; close to wineries and freeway.

The reception and check in experience was nice. The room was clean and not noisy, breakfast was good. They kept Santa Maria tour guide book in the room which was nice. Our kid played the piano in the breakfast area !

This hotel is well run and offers a lot for the price. Best to call hotel for price. the lobby staff are especially good. Other service staff are polite and helpful. Breakfast offers many options but could be more appetizing with more fruit options and less high calorie items.

The room was very clean, the food was delicious, and the bed was fabulous. We are elderly, and couldn't quite figure out the remote. We loved the big TV and that it had a guide. We should have called the desk, but were too tired. If we were staying longer we would have. We were going to an Memorial for my husband's childhood friend the next day then home.

My sister and I had stayed in September and we were so impressed with our stay we all stayed here in November for my daughter's wedding. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and warm. Will definitely stay again next time we are in town.

We stayed at the Big America at the end of October. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed, a king, was also very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the attendant was very good. When we checked out, I forgot my iPad. I realized it at the flight gate in LAX. I quickly called and spoke to Monique who dropped everything, went to my room and retrieved my iPad. She verified my address and handed the iPad for shipping to Christie. The iPad was shipping home, free of charge, and arrived on Friday. What great employees! A testament to the great service at Big America. I'll definitely consider Best Western in future trips! Btw, Service, Cleanliness and Sleep Quality were all 5 stars. Trip Advisor site not working properly.

Recently stayed 2 nights in a suite w/king bed & queen sofa pull-out. Room fresh & clean. Breakfast very good. King bed comfortable. Sofa pull-out marginal. Couldn't sleep second night cuz engine of big rig w/refrigeration kept firing up to keep it cold. At 1:30 a.m. tried repeatedly to reach front desk. 20 minutes later, got dressed & went to lobby & complained. Mgr said they instruct big rigs to park on W.Williams (which parallels south side of rooms). Mgr completely unsympathetic. Woman at front desk the next morning also unsympathetic when I checked out. Was so tired after losing so much sleep & had long drive ahead. If they had better quality windows the big rig sound would be muffled.

I've stayed at this Hotel twice now and both time I was not disappointed. The rooms are super clean, and very quite. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable for the area. The breakfast offers a little bit more than just a continental, with some hot items.

I just checked in and will be staying 2 nights. I am already regretting that I prepaid. My room has a “funky smell” to it. It is SUPER dark and dreary. It is a motel which never makes me feel safe, I thought it was a hotel with indoor corridors. Seems to be a place where men (construction workers) are checking in, no families or couples. Seriously, men walking dogs, men with neon orange construction vests, men walking around with beer bottles, men at the computer in the lobby. The only women I see are housekeepers..... There is no on-sight restaurant, although I was told the country kitchen, next door, was leased by them. So as I'm typing this a man was standing outside my window staring in, I asked if I could help him, he laughed and said sorry. I'm hoping they will let me cancel my reservation!

Nice stay with a large clean and comfortable room, which appeared to be recently refurbished. Some outside noise in the early evening but then a very quiet night and a good sleep on the very comfortable bed. Good wifi. Quite a long walk to the room having used the one lift. Very busy at breakfast, but the staff just about coped. Would probably stay again.

Room was huge, clean, newly remodeled, quiet, smelled good, frig and micro, wifi, great breakfast. As a member of Best Westerns points club, I paid only $90 plus tax. Have stayed at both the Santa Maria Inn, and the Candlewood Suites. Nothing against them, but this BW has them both beat. Here you get free breakfast, two bottles of water in the room, cleaner and fresher room, and a cheaper price for me. I read some the negative reviews here. Guess you just can't please everybody. I've never left a hotel review before, but feel this place surely deserves one. Grand piano in lobby and breakfast area was even being played by a very talented guest while I enjoyed breakfast. I can't say enough. No, it is not in a high scale neighborhood. No, it is not the Ritz Carlton, but it wasn't hundreds per night either.

Clean, economical, great breakfast and the friendliest staff from top to bottom. Overall experience was 1000 stars. For the money it does not get any better than the pleasant stay we had with the kind and caring folks at the Santa Maria Best Western! Keep up the outstanding work...

I doubt I'll return to this Best Western. Although the service and the room was good, the nighttime activity of men drinking, smoking, talking and laughing outside my room stunned me. I can't believe management allowed this kind of party like atmosphere. They were in small groups up and down the walkway in front of the rooms. The next morning the remains of their presence could be seen. Cans, bottles and cigarette butts. That's the last time Santa Maria will see me.

I was surprised to find such a nice little spot out here in little Santa Maria. Quiet hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were very clean and spacious! It is located off of the main road and has decent parking. There is even a little restaurant next door.

My wife and I and another couple stayed at the Best Western Plus big America in Santa Maria California. We arrived on a Friday afternoon. We stayed Friday night Saturday night Sunday night. This hotel is a very nice hotel. The rooms are very clean and the staff is helpful and very nice. Breakfast included waffles bacon biscuits and gravy scrambled eggs toast yogurt fruit and also danishes. They also had cold cereal and milk as an option. We would definitely stay at Best Western Plus big America when we return to Santa Maria. I would like to give a big thank you to the staff in Santa Maria for doing such a great job in keeping their rooms tidy and stocked.

I was surprised to see that the room I reserved had a queen in one room and a separate bedroom with a king. For the price paid it was a deal. Top that with great customer service, cleanliness and a decent breakfast in the morning I was pleased.

they had a very helpful staff, my mother can't walk far so they got us a first floor room directly across from breakfast area. The breakfast had a great variety, and the room was clean and comfortable.

We have been using this as our stoping point on the way to San Diego for years. We have always been pleased with the rooms and the service the front desk is the best, breakfast is wonderful. We have never had a bad experience here. Country kitchen restaurant next door is convient and good simple food.

If you want to feel welcome for your weekend visit, great place to stay; easy access freeway with friendly & welcoming atmosphere from staff. Rooms always kept very clean, up-to-date furniture, amenities in room, etc. Location not the greatest, but we've stayed there for many years and it gets better.

We found this hotel all modernized. Big room, very clean and beautiful. Beds comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Large Dining area for breakfast. Large assortment of things for breakfast and food was good. The place was full. We loved the atmosphere and comfort. We would chose this Hotel again. Price was very reasonable for what you get. Here again I reserved at this wonderful Best Western. The place is so wonderfully kept, staff cleaning all the time, my mini suite was wonderfully equipped,bed was amazing to sleep in,small living room was wonderful as hubby and I could watch our own shows in each room. The wonderful breakfast buffet was great,with bacon,eggs,biscuits&gravy, toasts,pastries,coffee and juices. I was really impressed when the maids cleaned our room, a lovely lady came by to inspect our room, that it was cleaned properly, she stated that they wanted all their guests to be happy and comfortable. They supplied bottled water in our room each day. I cannot explain how wonderful and immaculate this place really is. You are my first choice coming back next year during vacation. A delicious plate of buttery chocolate chip cookies on the counter at check in set the tone for a comfortable and convenient overnight stay. The courtyard like set up of the hotel made it quiet, the room was comfortable with a huge bathroom. All the amenities were there. I would definitely stop here again on a similar trip.

We came in town to visit family. The lobby is very clean and nice! We got in very late and the man who checked us in was so helpful and nice. Our room was very nice and clean. The breakfast the next morning was amazing and there was something for everyone. They had anything from fruit and cereal to biscuits & gravy, eggs and waffles. They also have a quick grab and go option if you request where they'll have some fruit and a water bottle or coffee for you to just grab on the way out.

The Best Western in Santa Maria is my first choice when I have occasion to come into town. The rooms are a good size and the bed comfortable. I especially like the large bathroom/dressing area with the sink and spacious counter and another counter where a second person could blow dry hair or do other grooming. There is a bar area in the bedroom with a sink, coffee maker, small refrigerator, microwave, 2 bottles of water and a large screen tv. The breakfast buffet is more than adequate with many choices including hot food- scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. It is all attractively presented and the workers there ready to help when asked.

We had to make an unexpected trip to Santa Maria and stayed at the Best Western Plus Big America. This hotel was super clean, the room was huge, it had a seperate toilet room, a makeup counter, coffee, water, large big screen TV, it was one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in. Excellent price for an awesome room.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Pillows are plush and beds are comfortable. They provide Micro, Fridge, and Coffee Maker.. Lots of parking and a Hot Continental breakfast with all kinds of beverages.....

A lot of large, loud work trucks frequent this property and they park, backed in very close to your rooms entry door. The workers start the day at 5:30 or so and lasts for a couple of hours. Parking needs attention

When ever I travel, I stay at a Best Western. I have always been treated like a VIP. I always recommend to my friends and family to stay at a Best Western. I'am retired and a Viet Nam Vet. and appreciate Excellent Service.

This is a very nice property on Old 101. Well kept up. I had reserved a King room and was surprised to open the door to a nice suite - very large rooms. Clean, good service, quiet - very pleased. Would certainly come back again.

Labor day weekend, the place was packed. Staff managed to take care of everyone's needs, made sure there was enough staff to do so, kudos' to the management/owners. Breakfast on Sunday was a bit chaotic, lots of hungry people. I used my BW points for the room for the night, I am happy with my experience. Bed was very comfortable, I need a bed like this for myself.

Great property will definitely be returning to stay again. Rooms have plenty of room, and super clean. The staff is top notch and the breakfast is above the rim in selection, presentation & quality. From the street it may not look the best, however...... don't let your first impression stop you from staying.

Close to the food, close to the freeway, the room was excellent, quite, very big, very clean, and excellent comfort , (breakfast) The food was a little bit coold and breakfast room was to full of costumes, but I still came back end I recommend.

The room was nice, large and I liked that the Loo was separate from the shower. The breakfast was more than continental. They kept having to replace the eggs, bacon, potatoes and biscuits. Lots of choices with dry cereals, breads, sweet rolls, bagels, waffles, yogurts, coffee, tea and juices. The staff was very friendly. I liked the 2 story feel of the hotel with not very much noise. We were about 2 doors down from the beautiful pool, still not a lot of noise going late into the night. We left checking out the prices for November!

I enjoyed my stay and the staff was first-rate.I had a business meeting there and the hospitality was perfect. Parking is a little tight but I would recommend this location to anyone looking to host a meeting in the area.

The beds were the best,the hospitality was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable.Edgar at front desk at check in was knowledgeable, helpful and patient with our requests for room location due to our son needing easy access to room with leg in cast. This was a very good property. The motel was sort of horseshoe-shaped, with lots of parking, but we found it very quiet and comfortable. The rooms are large; ours had a separate living room. (We would have killed for this in NYC!) The service was lovely, from front desk to housekeeper to brrakfast attendant -the pool area tidy. Very good stay! Will definitely return.

This was a return visit. I love the rooms at this hotel. We get the reasonably priced sweet. This time I was able to use my Best Wester Rewards points for a free room. I think Best Western has the best reward program! Points accumulate quickly. Easy to use.

I've been staying twice a month at this hotel for the last two years and I can[t recall ever having a problem. the staff is very friendly and helpful. the breakfast is very good thats one of the things I look forward to.

This is a find place. A basic motel. It was a larger room than many motels have. Bed was comfortable. We had a handicapped accessible room which was well appointed. Not our favorite motel breakfast but what do you expect from a motel. Bacon was too greasy. Eggs were standard scrambled. The waffle batter seemed thin - but it was fine.

I liked this place, the room was quiet unless people were shouting in the hallway in front of the room. I would stay here again when I am in this area again. I do wish Trip advisor did not require 200 characters in their reviews

Huge room, clean, comfortable bed/pillows. The breakfast is included and delicious. The free internet is very fast and unlike many other hotels/motels you don't have to ask for the password, they offer it up at check in! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely a bargain for such a high quality hotel.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were very nice and the beds were comfortable. The front desk attended to my every need. The only downsides to my stay were the parking was a bit crowded and guests were loud when they walked up and down the walkways. However, the hotel was sold out, so both of those were to be expected.

The room was quite spacious and clean. The location was good, close to Hwy 101. The parking lot was very well lit. I believe they only have one elevator (could be wrong here) and if that's the case, another elevator won't hurt. The price seemed a bit on the high side but overall it was a good experience.

Updated room, with two TV's Large mirrors and very clean. Staff was excellent. Breakfast had lots of choices. Great location and easy access. Maid was very accommodating and very friendly. I will be back on my next stay in Santa Maria.

Windows in the front and the back of the suites allows for nice airflow and breeze. Great access to wine country. Amazing and cheap Mexican food within walking distance, including a Country Inn Breakfast place next door. Extremely modern rooms and everything is very clean. Staff is beyond nice.

We wanted a place that was clean. This is a lot more than that -- breakfast, hair dryer, bathroom SUITE for goodness sake. But the important part -- that it was clean -- was great. They had space for us at the last minute, which we appreciated. A little on the pricey side for what we were looking for, but probably well-priced for those who want, for example, a coffee pot in their room.

Clean rooms were recently remodeled. Great breakfast with nice selections to choose from. Pool and spa will hopefully be finished soon. Location is bad in that if you come up Broadway from the south it is hard to figure out how to get to the motel.

Very clean and beautiful and the staff was very kind and helpful! I will stay the next we are in town. This hotel is close to downtown Santa Maria and to the mall. This hotel is one of the cleanest hitels we have stayed at!

Had a good study other than not being able to get a room on the first floor! We always have a good stay here! Although this time we had two rooms each with one bed but here was a price difference in the room! It hit tesilved. It it did take some time!

I will just keep it short and sweet as you can see all of the other excellent reviews. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a gigantic and unique bathroom (I don't know how to explain it). I don't think many motels can match the wonderful free breakfast and the very friendly staff. There are a few dining options within walking distance and several within a short drive.*** NOTE***If you want a fun lounge with a good nightlife be sure to check out the bowling alley lounge (about three b locks away ).

Staff was very attentive and professional.. Room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel is perfect for both bussines and family stay and there are plenty of restaurants and fast food places nearby. I will definately will come back again!

Staff was friendly and breakfast buffet was very good - a lot to choose from. Only complaints were 1) no mention of pool closure due to construction on website or phone, and 2) only one elevator on opposite end of Horseshoe shaped buildings from suites.

This hotel is conveniently located off the freeway, rooms are clean, well kept & staff is courteous & helpful. They are pet friendly and have an excellent breakfast on site. The rooms have a large dressing area in the bathroom which is convenient for several people to use.

Did not get the room I reserved. I reserved a suite that was supposed to fit me and my 4 children. When I arrived I was given a small room with 2 queen beds. The room was clean but outdated. I was ok with that because I was trying to sav money, but needed more beds.

Nice room - spacious and clean with comfortable beds. Good breakfast with fresh oatmeal and eggs! Front desk were friendly and helpful -they helped me to print out boarding passes, which was nice. The swimming pool was still under construction, but that didn't bother us as we had little time. There was a small diner next to the hotel which was OK.

This is a good place to stay. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are good equipped and you get a good breakfest after a fine sleep. They had a rodeo in Santa Maria, so people where busy. I would stay there again no doubt about it and recommend that you should try it too. We where in a group of ten and booked 5 rooms. Nobody was disappointed. Only the breakfest room is a bit too small, when the motel has no vacancies. We had to wait for 10 minutes to get a table which is not nice in the morning when you have a plan for the day. But this is my only concern.

I only stayed 1 night at this hotel, but I would stay again as it was nice and clean. The room was very nice. It looked as though it may have been recently remodeled. The staff was also friendly. I got the government rate as I on state business and it was reasonable.

This hotel was centrally located to Santa Maria. It's service was excellent and the room and amenities were everything a person could want. The hotel staff were ALL friendly, helpful and professional.

Be sure to pay the extra for the suite. The breakfast is a full breakfast. The staff were very nice. Exceptional quality. This is located among other more expensive lodging but most definitely delivers what you would expect from more expensive hotels.

Bed was not that much comfortable. Food was very good, that's the best part of stay... Front seat people was very nice. Enjoyed stay. Bathroom was clean. More space. Pool was still under construction.

This motel provided the best breakfast on our tour which was included in the negotiated accommodation costs. Very good beds and a nice quiet room with automatic air conditioning was satisfying our needs for calming down. Unfortunately the pool was closed for construction. This is a very nice place to be in Santa Maria.

Pros: Terrific breakfast! Clean room, nice staff. Cons: The map of the U.S. at checkin is a neat idea, but it is probably the worst (as in least accurate) map/picture of the U.S. I have ever seen. How can this hotel literally be called "Big America" if the owner/manager/staff have no idea what a map of the United States of America looks like? Also, the pool and hot tub were broken.

A really nice and simple stay on our way south. Nothing really stands out in terms of quality or presentation, but more importantly nothing was wrong. The room was spacious, and the breakfast was decent enough to have us on our way well quickly in the morning.

Convenient, cozy location that is well maintained with lovely staff. We were there to visit family and had two room next to each other. We always stay at Best Western and this is one of the nicest facilities.

On our road trip from San Fran to LA this was our stop and the beds were the most comfortable of the 3 hotels we stopped in during our tour of Arizona and California. Not much to do in the area but the rooms were great - just a shame we stopped one night though the breakfast did not live up to its sister hotel in Fremont.

We stayed here on a road trip to LA. The hotel was clean, rooms were large and very comfortable. Edgar at the front desk could not do enough to help us. There is a restaurant within the grounds (but not owned by hotel) where we had a great dinner. Breakfast and parking are provided free by hotel.

Very nice staff at the reception desk with helpful information of the area. Had stop for the night from seeing the wild flowers at Carrizo Plain witch was fantastic. Recommended going back through fraiser park to see the Condors and continue to Antelope valley to see the poppies. The condor area was closed unfortunately. Also recommended Oso Flaco Lake which was very nice even though we did not make it all the way to the beach. Long walk. The room was large and had a good TV and internet. Waffles for breakfast is my fab, had many other choices. Good stay

About 30 minute drive to Cal Poly for their open house for our daughter, happily surprised with a room with a closing door within the room for a total of two beds. Great breakfast, clean, friendly. Easy on and off for the freeway, good restaurants around.

We went without much planning due to an unforeseen night in Santa Maria and were pleased we chose this hotel. It is unassuming from the street, but we had a nice room with a good bed and the biggest, most well appointed bathroom we've ever seen at a BW property. Didn't use any facilities or eat the breakfast, so can't comment on anything but the room.

All around just great. Beginning with Front desk Edgar, and Cassey were very helpful. Our room was super clean what a relief. Bed was nice and comfy. Clean. Breakfast was very nice. A++ Hospitality from everyone. Thank you.

The "plus" in the Best Western logo for this motel is well earned. The room was quiet, the desk staff was friendly, and the lobby was attractive. If we're ever in the area again, we'll stay there. We also recommend the North China restaurant.

This hotel definitely has a few years on it but the room was clean and smelled good. A few problems, closet door wouldn't slide, bathroom fan didn't work but we reported them to the front desk when we left. I believe they will take care of it. Just grabbed a bagel from the breakfast area but it was well stocked and looked very clean. They were busy because it was the day after thanksgiving but they seemed to have it under control.

this place needs a staff remodel as well as a compound remodel. i only stay here because that is where work says i have to( corporate discount). there are slums across the street and people in a field being arrested next to that. i don't feel safe.

This was a nice motel, above average in all categories. It was very convenient to places we wanted to visit. The room aw pleasant and the internet worked very well. We would stay there again if we return to that area.

The front desk staff recommended a steakhouse restaurant called Shaw's, it was fabulous! The hotel room was clean and nice. There was loud music coming from the back end of the hotel. I am not sure if was from the hotel or behind the hotel but it had stopped before we returned from dinner. Breakfast was decent although the breakfast burritos were cold.

We were up at Cal Poly SLO for parents weekend but the rates in SLO go up really high during high traffic weekends so going 30 minutes south to Big America is fiscally smart. Nice rooms, good breakfast and a pool. Great value.

This was an excellent place to stay! The rooms are nice, the beds were very comfortable and everyone was friendly. They could use bigger parking lot and an elevator but other than that everything was great.

Just spent the night enroute SF-LA. Room was spacious-- bathroom was suite-style. Beds were only fulls, but everything was clean and worked. Breakfast had some neat hot items, like biscuits and gravy. Two waffle makers- score! Staff was helpful during our visit. No complaints.

Our favorite place to stay while in Santa Maria. Rooms are big and clean. The hot tub and pool are clean and relaxing. The best part besides comfortable beds is the breakfast. The hot breakfast that is included is the best we've had for a hotel breakfast. Hot waffle maker, breakfast burritos with amazing homemade salsa, biscuits and gravy, plus cold foods. Can't beat the price for everything that is included.

Arrived at 10 p.m. after a challenging drive. Was thrilled that the heated outdoor pool and hot tub were open 24 hrs/day. We enjoyed both late in the evening and early the next morning. The hotel room was spotless. Bed was very comfortable firm, linens in excellent shape. Check-in and check-out were very fast. The free breakfast was very starchy - my only complaint and it is a minor one. This hotel was excellent value for the money.

The rooms were outstanding. They came complete with everything we needed from the refrigerator to the Iron. The beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were very clean and the Staff was so friendly and helpful. I would Highly recommend a stay here.

All of the rooms have been redone and a few turned into mini suites. Breakfast wasn't the usual but didn't have enough protein options, no eggs (except boiled) and no bacon or sausage, biscuits were good but the gravy a little bland. The front staff was very friendly.

I've come to this Best Western every year for several years now because it's always clean, comfortable, friendly, safe, convenient, and I can get my breakfast on the premises. I hope to continue my yearly visits for many years to come.

Very nice for about $150 a night, a bargain in Southern California. I felt very safe there, too, with all the firefighters staying there. Friendly staff, comfortable bed with lots of pillows, microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot, free bottled water and free breakfast. It's no luxury resort but for the price I don't think you can beat it.

My husband and I stayed here in July visiting a friend. What I like most about this place was the huge bathroom with a beautiful vanity. There were 3 mirrors and you can angle it to your liking. In that lavatory you will find a closet with long length mirror (right beside the vanity), also the toilet is closed off and a distant away from the tub. Our cleaning lady was superb as she made sure we had new sheets and the toiletries were replenished each time. As many Best Western facilities they serve their breakfast located a tuck away from the lobby, off to the side by the communal area where they have the computers. Very simple as I call them just a starters. What I liked most is the waffle iron, there is a pre made batter to the side and you can make your own waffles and any additions like chocolate chips or caramel sauce is not available, just your regular butter and syrup in individual packets. The only downfall is the location, it seemed not safe at night.

I had a reservation for a disabled room. I checked in around 4:00 PM and, before looking at the room, went to run an errand. When I returned 1) the room was very close to the street (which is extremely busy / noisy); 2) there were no disabled parking spaces anywhere near the room (I don't mean available...I mean AT ALL). Went to the front desk to inquire about a quieter room and there was another couple ahead of me asking about a disabled room. They also said they had no reservation. I immediately piped up that I DID have a reservation...and that they could have *my* disabled room, as I couldn't stay in it because it was too noisy. The clerk gave the no res couple a different room than mine. And he told me that he had no more disabled rooms. When I asked why he'd given them the last disabled room when they had no res and I had told him I did have one, he said they were there first. No, I said...I was there an hour ago and had been given a bad room. After making a bit of a fuss with him he suddenly found another room...far away from the street and with a disable parking space immediately in front of it. Now...why hadn't he done that in the beginning? If not when I first checked in then when I came back to complain? Aside from this, my stay was stellar. The new room was excellent, very clean, quiet, great amenities, etc...nothing at all to complain about. Breakfast begins quite early, even on weekends...fabulous!

We were on our way from Palm springs to Monterey. This hotel had good reviews and seemed a reasonable price compared to other hotels in the area. I was a good choice, the room was clan and comfortable and my wife appreciated the very large bathroom with a separate toilet.

We have been staying at this hotel for many years now on trips from WA. All the staff are friendly and provide great assistance. The rooms are really nice with very comfortable mattresses, large bathrooms with a vanity also for the ladies, shower heads that provide a strong and invigorating outpour of water, excellent tv and other accommodations. I especially enjoy the king sized rooms. The breakfasts are pleasant with waffles to yogurt, bagels, cereals, juices, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, etc. We will be back again.

This is newly remodeled nice place to go I really enjoyed that Mississippi room the breakfast is good in the next day. People are very friendly and it's really close to the downtown area so you can do almost anything you want.

My wife and I have met my brother at the Best Western Plus Big America for a relaxing Labor Day weekend for the last 5 years. We find the rooms to be clean, the beds very comfortable, and the housekeeping service very good. My brother, wife and I meet at the Jacuzzi each evening and relax in the hot bubbly waters. the trip back to the room is a little cold but well worth it. This trip I was totally exhausted from several weeks of hard work and my first night I slept like a baby and woke up the next morning totally refreshed. We get coffee, orange juice, yogurt, a Danish and fresh fruit at the morning breakfast each day. There are no eggs, bacon or sausage like at other hotel breakfasts I have been too. They do have hot oatmeal, cereal, bagels, and toast as well. It is a very good breakfast if you are not looking for eggs. Check in and out is always a breeze and we always book our reservation for the following year when we check out since they get booked up for the Labor Day weekend. We have always enjoyed our stay and will continue to come back to the Best Western Big America on Labor Day weekend. I recommend this hotel to anyone considering a trip to Santa Maria.

The hotel room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the TV worked. The daily breakfast buffet was wonderful. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful. The room was affordable, compared to other hotels.

Bad breakfast choice, uninformed guest service, no regards for Diamond status and horrible internet. Room was clean and quiet. bed was super comfortable. Too expensive for the value of money. Maybe there aren't better hotels around but have stayed at much better Best Westerns

Love the huge, unique bathroom with a separate water closet, dressing table with mirrors, comfy tub and a wonderful hot breakfast. We experienced noisy neighbors partying in the parking lot - reported it and it was taken care of, right away. Will absolutely stay here again.

I would rather tackle a grizzly bear with rabies than stay in this hovel again. On a drive from the Bay Area to San Diego, we wanted to stay midway between, making it a comfortable 2 -day drive. This motel really filled the bill, at a reasonable cost. The room was spacious, with all the amenities--small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, desk, high-speed internet. The king bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was ample--waffles, cereal, juice, yogurt, fruit--everything fresh. The town is small and easy to get around, with plenty of nice restaurants for dinner. We would stay there again.

The room had big mirrors all around to make it look very spacious, and it was indeed. We had a king bed and a queen bed, located separately with an air conditioner in each room. The channel guide was very useful and there were many to choose from. Overall very good for money and definitely recommend staying here on budget.

Stayed for the night on 8/20/16 and don't have a single complaint. We arrived late (around 11pm) and the front desk was more than accommodating... they even gave us a ground floor room so we wouldn't have to drag our big suitcases upstairs. Breakfast the next morning was nicer than I expected and those waffles are good! Room conditions were great - AC was cool. Shower was easy to use. And b/c I'm not a coffee person they had available tea bags in the lobby w/ hot water. So nice!

Babies crying, dogs barking, street noise, trucks idling and compressors running all night. The worst Best Western I have stayed at. If you decide to stay here get a room as far away from the street and side parking lot as possible. The price was way too much for the quality of this hotel.

This place was on the pricey side though it is in the southern part of California, in the middle of summer and not many room available in the area. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was very large. Everything was very clean and comfy. It definitely made up for the price. We ate at the restaurant next door. My opinion not recommended. Otherwise a very pleasant stay. Staff was great!!

well, we have paid $200/night and surely it was not worth it, unfortunately. i am Platinum memebr with them and NO ONE greated me with thank you for being so or this is an upgrade for you or even unfortunately there is none, just this is your key and go...checkning out they were much interested where i came from what is my nationality rather then thank you for staying with us and hope to see you next time or you have earned this amount of points or anything...i wont do it again

Got this on a deal this time from PL, though it is hard it seems to get under $100 because there aren't as many good hotels in SM. Nevertheless, BW here has been updated since my last stay two years ago for the better. The room is still spacious but it is a little more modern. The breakfast buffet offers a lot as usual. As mentioned, the area around the hotel wouldn't be ideal to walk around (best place would be Orcutt or the areas in the newer parts of town). It wasn't as packed as my last visit, so I was able to park in front of my room. Glad to have come back.

One of the better hotels we stayed at. Extremely friendly service and the staff takes their job seriously and wants you to have a pleasant time there. The pool was great! Always clean and they had towels at the pool location for you. Breakfast was amazing, plenty to choose from and they have someone working the area so its always stocked. I would definitely stay here again.

Aside from the sketchy neighborhood, the Best Western Plus Big America, Santa Maria, is very nice. The rooms are very large, with the biggest bathroom I have ever had in a hotel. The beds are comfortable and we didn't hear any noise. They could put some bigger refrigerators in the rooms, though. Don't count on bringing anything that needs to be refrigerated or frozen, there just isn't enough space. There isn't any green space to walk your dog on or near the property without walking in the neighborhood.

This Motel was noisy. The walls are thin and cars parked right outside the door makes for a more noisy experience. The room was clean, Motel staff was helpful, everything worked fine. I felt it was overpriced for the quality of the structure.

What a relief. After a long drive and last night staying in a random inn that was very poor I was slightly worried as this place was much cheaper. However, the room was excellent. Two very comfy beds with a nice bathroom. All very clean. I was very impressed. Especially with the price. Best Western is definitely the way forward. Thumbs up!!!

Having read all the great reviews and being very impressed with the low price, I booked three rooms at this BW Plus for a family trip we were making with our two children and their families. I must preface by saying that I haven't stayed in a BW for many years now, as I am very allergic to cigarette smoke and have been staying at Marriott's and Holiday Inn's with 100% smoke-free hotels. I was happy to see that this BW also advertised itself as smoke-free, although when I walked into the lobby I could smell a hint of smoke. Maybe the staff smoked, don't know. When I had made my reservations, I specifically asked if their suites had separate sleeping areas for privacy and was assured that this was so. Upon arrival and check-in, I was really shocked to see that both queens were in one large room.... so back I ran to the lobby and explained my predicament. We also had asked for another adjoining room so that I could help out with the grandkids. Well, every other suite was taken so I had no choice but to get two separate rooms and far away from our other child's room with the grandkids.... I must say I was very upset by this time since we had driven for hours with kids in the car and weren't about to start looking for other hotels. Of course, we survived the night. I must say that the beds were extremely comfortable and my son was very happy with the playpen/crib they were given for the toddler to sleep in. He slept all night long! Breakfast was not bad, many hot things and even some organic ones!!! Yay! But the best part is to come. I received an email a few days later (we will still traveling) asking to rate my experience at this BW and I really blasted them with my unhappiness at the mix-up with rooms and having to pay for an extra room, etc. Very soon after, I received a call at home (I later heard it on my answering machine) and an email from a very nice gentleman,Mr. Max Tucker, general manager, who was eager to fix the problem. In the end, I received a credit for the extra room I had to pay for. I am extremely happy with the customer service from BW in this case. It really makes me believe that some companies really do care about their customers' experience. Thanks again BW and Mr. Tucker!

The room was clean and comfortable and had a nice layout. The hotel lobby is beautiful. The breakfast was a nice feature and plenty of morning newspapers. The hotel staff lacked professionalism and friendliness.

When my itinerary includes Santa Maria, I always stay at BW+. Their adherence to high standards and excellent service serves there brand well. My wife and I have stayed at BW+ for the last 20 years when attending to business and visiting family and friends. A friendly and professional staff surely helps make one feel welcome and comfortable.

We rented a 2 room suite. The bed was very comfortable and there is a separate room for the TV and computer. The breakfast was included and was more than adequate. they must be doing it right since the hotel was pretty full. the only draw back was that they only have one elevator which is necessary to haul suitcases tothe second floor where we were.

We chose this hotel because it was cheaper than anything else we could find in the San Luis Obispo/Pismo Beach area and we were not disappointed. It is a motel style hotel but the room was nice. The room and bathroom were large and it was quiet and clean. I have no complaints about the bed. As an added bonus, the room included a mini-fridge and microwave. I would stay here again, though it is about 20 mins from Pismo Beach and 40 mins from San Luis Obispo.

Our Baseball team and families had a great stay! Friendly Staff from the Reception Staff to Cleaning Staff! All the Staff greeted us daily with a Smile during our six night stay! Clean rooms, Comfortable beds, Nice big bathroom with Vanity area for Wife! Boys enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi! Only negative, no laundry on site, but across the street was a laundry facility, so not bad! We would definitely recommend and would stay again!

We decided to stay here and to some rest before a long journey scheduled for the next day. The room was very nice and was recently renovated. The breakfast was good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We did find the town itself a little rough. We traveled up and down broadway looking for some place to eat, but nothing seemed appealing. We ended up going next door to Francisco's country kitchen and were surprised to how nice it was inside as compared to the run down look on the outside. The food was outstanding, We highly recommend eating there. A good value too. We were unfortunate that a large group traveling together stayed at the same time we did and created a lot of noise with their drinking and socializing. To our surprise, the room kept most of the noise away. Our previous stay was in Palm Springs, so this was a little bit of a culture shock, but the staff and the hotel room made up for what was lacking.

The hotel was really nice, the staff...even nicer. The area, not one of my favorites, but cool for a local area. Lot's of great local mexican eateries and carcieneras. I was there to take a test. Im sure, the downtown area is worth exploribg further.

I have found that the prices in SLO and Pismo Beach are REALLY TOO HIGH for what you get. If you are willing to stay about 20 mins from Pismo and 25 from SLO, this is the place to stay. More bang for your buck. If you use this as a home base, there is plenty of things to do. The area is a little sketchy, but so is Pismo after dark.

Staff was great and the rooms were nice for the money. This was our first time in Santa Maria and the location was decent. The breakfast was average, cereal, waffles, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy.

This is a poorly located old motel, below the Best Western standard. The room we got had a strong smell of bleach, and the wallpaper in the bathroom was falling off (I suspected presence of mold). We asked for another room but we didn't move because I detected odor of bleach there as well (I asked a neighbor to smell his room, and it didn't smell like bleach). Breakfast was OK, but not as good as at the excellent Best Western Plus we stayed at in Monterey.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Restaurants within close proximity of the hotel. Room very large in size and very comfortable. Large screen TV for family. Very quiet room with black-out window shades to keep out the light. Breakfast was great.

Parking lot was full of work trucks. Almost didn't stay here. Decided we didn't want to drive further so we book a room. Pleasantly surprised by the large well furnished room. Had one of the best nights sleep in a hotel in a long time. Very quiet.

Booked this hotel sight unseen and was worried when we checked in as the room doors open right to the outside. Upon entering the room was clean, bathroom large and had everything we needed. The restaurant recommended next door was just ok, we didnt want to get back in the car and look elsewhere. The breakfast area in the lobby was great! Had everything we were looking for and the lady in the breakfast area was right on top of everything, everyone was friendly and if traveling in this area again, yes we would stay here again!!

We had booked 6 rooms in another hotel, We got to the hotel and they didn't have our rooms. I had 12 Employees standing there at 12 midnight. I was able to get them into BW Big America, Santa Maria. With no problems. This hotel is about an hour from our jobsite but we have chosen to cancel all rooms with the hotel 5 minutes from the jobsite and we are now using BW Big America in Santa Maria! We enjoyed our one night stay. The bedding was comfy and the rooms recently remodeled. The pool was perfect temperature. Breakfast burritos were pretty good but not a fan of biscuits and gravy for breakfast. They have a wide variety of things to eat including freshly made waffles. The restaurant recommendation from the staff was awesome-Shaw's Steakhouse. The best steak my husband ever ate. Very good value - would stay here again.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Big America in Santa Maria for 3 nights July 8-11, 2016. This hotel is clean and is a great value for your money. The free breakfast bar is pretty amazing. Great selection a the quality of food was excellent! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

We have stayed at this hotel several times now and love it! The spacious rooms have quality finishes and amenities with comfortable beds and updated bedding. The bathroom suite is one of the nicest for a hotel in this price range! And, we love that it is dog friendly without the fees!

A very nice place to stay, easy to locate and close to the freeway and no noise from the street. A nice room and bed was great, pillows were very nice and they were not real soft. The room was very clean and fresh.

Continental Breakfast is good-internet service is excellent-pool is decent, a bit small but very clean-staff is friendly but not very informative. Rooms are nice, beds very comfortable. Lots of mirrors in the room give the appearance of more space.

I really liked this hotel. It had kitchen sink, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom was very spacious. Inside it, it included the closet and a vanity. That was a plus for me so I didn't have to go in and out of the bathroom to get dressed. I have added Best Western to my list of hotels which consisted of Hilton and Holiday Inn brands.

Not our best experience. Room smelt musty, supplies hadn't been checked properly so no tissues in the bathrooom, broken light bulb over dressing table. Aircon very noisy. Fridge was unstable and tipped towards you as youopened the door. We stayed in several Best Westerns as part of this 2 week trip and this was the worst. On the plus side, the room (120) was quiet (apart from the aircon) and the beds were comfortable. Checkin staff were very good. Breakfast was excellent

Mr Basir at reception was very helpful in giving us the best rate, inf of the area & in general re future stays enroute to LA. The hotel was clean, comfortable with a good family size to accommodate 5 adults. We would go back.

The rates were very high in San Luis Obispo for graduation. Although it was a 25 minute drive, the hotel was nice and a great rate. So if you aren't drinking in SLO, I would highly recommend it. Cheaper than the Motel 6 in Slo and much nicer. Breakfast is included and a nice perk. Clean and comfortable.

The room was clean and comfortable. There were full walls covered in mirrors, which was a little distracting at first. We really enjoyed the separate rooms in this suite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. When I asked for a restaurant recommendation, the gentleman at the front desk gave us a wonderful suggestion.

Never would my wife and I believe that we could have stayed at a Best Western and be wowed so far above our expectations!! The place was super clean, the room was absolutely wonderful with a super TV, A sitting room, a super large and comfortable bed, and a special well lit sitting place for my wife to put on her make-up and dry her hair. Everything worked with a very quiet air conditioner, and refrigerator. People were on both sides of us and above us and we could not hear them at all. The breakfast area was super clean and had what we wanted (coffee/tea/cereal/fruit/yogurts/waffles/fruit and juices). Checkout was easy and all the staff were super friendly, professional and helpful. I give this 6 out of 5 stars!!!!!

Stayed at this hotel with my family on a road trip up to San Francisco. This hotel is old but it was a decent value (compared to others nearby) and our room was big. Breakfast was not good. Unlikely to come back and stay again on our next trip up North.

This hotel has a fantastic staff. Everyone from Management on down can not seem to be helpful enough to you. The hotel has been going through a lot of upgrades, and through the stress of it all the staff has maintained there composure and professionalism. Great Job. See you next month!

Looks new, smells new, large room, very nice bathroom, tons of wall outlets to charge your items and best of all, an elevator to the second level! If you drive the 101 in California, this is the place to stay!

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was. One of the best bathrooms I've had in any Best Western. The staff was very nice and the morning breakfast was very good. The internet was easy to access and worked perfectly.

Enjoyed our short stay. As always very friendly, courteous staff. Very comfortable beds! Missed Cleo, (the house kitty) but wish Cleo great treats and love on that side of the Rainbow Bridge. The extra room in the bathroom will be great for handicapped bathing, etc.

This Best Western in Santa Maria is a model of what reasonably priced hotels should strive for. Our stay started with the friendly staff and easy check in. Our room was perfect. At first we commented that it was a little bit small, until we explored the entire room. It was so efficiently laid out that the size was not an issue. A microwave, fridge, extra sink, and "dressing area" were welcome amenities. The room was spotless. Breakfast was a tad above standard fare...burritos, biscuits and gravy, boiled eggs, plus the usual fruit and cereal. All staff (breakfast, cleaners, and front desk) are very well trained. This hotel goes on our list of go-to lodging when traveling Hwy 101.

Every single employee was helpful, smiling and extremely friendly. I have never seen hotel staff so friendly. I encountered the maintenance staff, housecleaning staff, front desk staff and breakfast area staff during my stay and every single one of them were extremely friendly, smiling and you could see that they were actually happy to be working at the hotel.

We chose this hotel for the family gathering, we will be staying again next month for a wedding. We especially liked the breakfast venue, the food is hot and well presented and the dining room is large. The guest rooms are beautiful and the friendliness of the staff was a plus.

The Best Western Plus in Santa Maria is fairly average looking on the outside - but the cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms is way above average; ditto for the friendly and helpful staff. The complimentary breakfast is pretty standard for these types of hotels, but the food was fresh; and what was supposed to be hot was hot, and what was supposed to be cold was cold - that's not always a given with complimentary breakfasts. The price for the rooms was good as well - a little more than it used to be to qualify for that statement, but what hasn't gone up? To sum it up, we went in a group of about 30-35 people and all in all, I think the Best Western Plus in Santa Maria was a solid hit for everyone.

We especially appreciate not being charged extra for our pet :) Everywhere else makes a big fuss when we bring our puggle, Duke. Also, the Handicap access bathroom is the best of any motel. Thank you Best Western:)

Our trip to the coast Ventura, and Santa Maria was planned for a healing and relaxing few days. We stayed at two Best Westerns both were wonderful, we can always rely and depend on Best Westerns quality you can never go wrong.

We found it to be a great place to stop for good night sleep and very clean rooms there was an incredibly great staff. Overall very pleasant experience. Will definitely stop there again on business next time.
