"Likely will never stay with BW again, always something not working IE pool, or other amenities as listed on web site!"
wishitwaswarmer, 17 Mars 2024

Best Western is misleading guests on Bestwestern booking app! Claiming there is a restaurant and lounge on site. Apparently it has been closed for some time! Booking app needs to inform guests of the actual amenities. False advertising, would not have stayed if I had known.......of course the room is non-refundable! Unacceptable as a long term platinum customer ! Guess I will be using a different chain going forward. All BW has to offer is the points don't expire (you just need to use twice as many as we used too)

"Restaurant closed Nov-March! Dated & more like a Motel than Hotel."
Travelalot247, 03 Janvier 2024

Disappointment in this Best Western. Restaurant closed Nov-March, must walk-drive over the bridge for food service. Tesla Charger moved to park and one (of 2) not working (main reason we chose this location). Room did have a nice balcony view of the frozen and closed up marina on the Lake, but the room was dated, smelled stale and was freezing cold when we entered. Heater was very noisy and woke us every time it turned on. Bed was comfortable/clean and room was clean enough. I would not recommend this location in the winter, but seems a really nice location in the summer.

"Edgewater"
startinglineup5, 02 Janvier 2024

Very unclean ! burned out light bulbs, TV was old and very small with fuzzy reception, Ice machine was not working, the refrigerator had not been cleaned a had a foul old food smell in it. We will NEVER stay at this location again !

"Misled - there is no restaurant/lounge"
347craig, 27 Novembre 2023

Was excited to take my girlfriend on a Holiday getaway over Thanksgiving weekend. Promised her we would have a leisurely time, order room service for breakfast, hang out some in the onsite lounge to relax and look at the beautiful lake. Unfortunately, they have posted misinformation on the Best Western website and Expedia- there is no restaurant or lounge (i.e. no room service either)

"2023 Fall West Trip"
sc52017, 04 Novembre 2023

This is an older property. Little bit worn but the location makes up for it. Sits right on a cove at Lake Pend Oreille. Two floors, each room has a patio or balcony. Beautiful and peaceful view from any room. No elevators, but the 2nd floor is even with the parking lot, so no carrying luggage up any stairs. The young lady that checked us, Emily, in was so sweet. Very helpful. We talked to her about the town. She gave us a great tip about the Farmers Market going on the next day. So glad, we loved it. Found couple items to purchase, among them yummy hand made pies. That you Emily.

"Old hotel with matching decor and appliances"
cckelly290, 10 Octobre 2023

Although the property is beautiful, and deserves a 5-star, the condition of the hotel merits a lower rating. The upkeep of the hotel is non-existant since it is a hotel that does not adhere to ADA regulation, and locals say it's on the chopping block to permanently close. Old TVs, no central air, extremely cramped bathroom/shower, weak WiFi, etc. It just feels like a dying, old, musty hotel on a fabulous property.

"Best Motel in Sandpoint"
hbeegee1950, 05 Octobre 2023

We have stayed at the Edgewater Resort several times. We always stay in the 'Honeymoon Suite'. It feels like home away from home. Friendly attentive staff eager to help in any way. Consistent experience has been very much appreciated. Hope to return again and again.

"Stayed here for a long weekend for a memorial service. This is a nice but older property. Very clean"
BOB G, 18 Septembre 2023

Stayed here for a memorial service and it is a nice place. A little dated but clean and the staff were extremely friendly. On the water and walking to downtown is around the corner. I did have someone on the top floor that was very loud but this was not the hotels issues. I would recommend this property for sure.

"Another nice stay"
schuldt56, 13 Septembre 2023

Great location. On the water with a public beach and marina right in front of you. Super restaurant on site, with a great staff and views. Unfortunately it appears that the building will be torn down in the future and replaced with who knows what. It has been nice to stay here over the years.

"Location is amazing"
S C, 18 Août 2023

We have stayed here before and the location is amazing however the facility is not well maintained. The rooms are outdated, common areas are not very clean with cobwebs on fixtures etc. The restaurant was closed due to limited staff and the buffet style breakfast wasn't well set up and as often happens, there are a few people that stockpile for the day leaving limited options at times.

"Nice friendly staff, ugly grounds, lacking interior aesthetic"
ryanbacharach, 08 Août 2023

Nice staff, dirty grounds and landscaping, really needs an update. Waste of money, only reason people stay here is location…overpriced in high season…next time I will spend a little more or I will stay a few blocks from downtown and use the city beach next to hotel. If they paid a person to walk around just clean stuff up and fix problems then this place may be better, I can live w the dated rooms, but to see the same pieces of trash lying around for days was gross , I actually started picking trash up and pulling weeds around the building it frustrated me so much

"Stayed for the water access"
Cbuscher, 08 Août 2023

Location on water was perfect because we love paddleboarding and we could just walk right out to the lake. That was the highlight of our stay. Otherwise, the building and rooms are really run down and in need of some maintenance, care, and a remodel. It was loud- we could hear everyone around our room. Bed was clean and decently comfortable but the linens were old and worn out, not typical of the BW's we have stayed in recently. invest in the property and this place will be magical!

"Ok Western with a view"
U568OCjeffp, 05 Août 2023

Although the view is nice, the hotel is in need of a makeover. We were fortunate to get a pet room, but there is need for improvement. Breakfast was average with limited offerings, below expectations for the price

"Dirty, warm room, no elevator"
Beth C, 01 Août 2023

Checked in to find there is no elevator. Lugged heavy luggage up two floors. Entered the bathroom to find a dirty toilet with a wad of toilet paper and long black hairs in the bowl. Then find long and short hairs all over bathroom. The packaging on one of the bars of soap was open and the soap contained therein had been used. The AC unit was too small to cool the entire room - with temps outside above 90, it was warm near the bed farthest from the AC unit. Only other room available was on the first floor and had one bed (we needed two and were too tired to drag suitcases back down). DO NOT STAY HERE. DISGUSTING.... especially for the price.

"Overpriced Dated Hotel "
FlyingTs, 25 Juillet 2023

We didn't actually stay here this trip. We stayed in the Cedar Street Hotel instead. We did so because of the outrageous room rate for a dated hotel. We were part of a large group that planned to stay here but many of us opted to stay at the Cedar Street for half the cost and a very nice room. The Edgewater is getting long in the tooth.

"Pretty, but uncomfortable"
ricksdnp, 23 Juillet 2023

We have vacationed at this hotel with our family for years because of it's location. It's right on the water and beautiful. That said, the facility itself is disappointing. The beds are uncomfortable and appear to have not been replaced in the 10 years we have been going there. The bathrooms are small, and the toilets appear to have been bought from a grammar school - small and low to the floor. If it were not for the fact that we stay there because our grandson loves being able to go from the room the water we would find another place to stay in Sandpoint.

"Nice relaxing quiet hotel."
27lyallh, 25 Juin 2023

Nice place to stay with good parking it's 2 level with no elevator. Nice large clean rooms with an awesome view of the lake. Comfortable bed and more than adequate shower. Good sized deck with chairs and small side table. We would definitely stay here again. Short walk to main St. For stores and restaurants.

"Very Happy with Our Stay !"
Anna955, 13 Juin 2023

My husband and I were very happy with our visit. Great location! Directly next to the City Beach. We stayed when it was very warm and we were able to swim in the lake and enjoy the beach directly outside the hotel. A walking path along the front of the hotel that will take you to a lake front path - beautiful! The town of Sandpoint is also walking distant from the Best Western. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The front desk people would ask immediately if we needed anything. The complimentary breakfast was pleasant. We sat in the restaurant area with views of the lake. Breakfast sandwiches, cereal, and fruit. What I liked the best - the orange and cranberry juice was served in individual bottles. I never like juice dispensed from a machine. The individual bottles were real juice. Coffee and specialty teas available 24 hours. The room was clean and spacious - with sliding glass doors to a deck with a lake and sunrise views. We used the pool and hot tub every day. The pool is heated and has enough room to enjoy. I hope we can get back to Sandpoint someday and will definitely stay at the Best Western! Thank You!

"Ok But Could Be Better"
Leah H, 03 Juin 2023

Nice hotel (a little dated), great location on the lake. The breakfast offered is mediocre at best. The breakfast comes in a bag (covid style). I stay at Best Western hotels regularly and have come to expect a certain level of quality from them.

"Beautiful view, close to downtown."
deborahEtz, 02 Juin 2023

Beautiful views. Beds are a bit soft, rooms nice, clean. Needs updating. Wonderful people at front desk. Walk to downtown establishments. A&P bar was fun, local establishment. Baxter's food was great, good beer and the owner Mitch was our server!

"West Coast 2023"
Timothy C, 20 Mai 2023

We stayed at this hotel for two nights returning from the west coast. The hotel was in a great location for walking to shops, restaurants and to the pier/water. The view of the water and mountains was gorgeous even with the haze from the wildfires in Canada. The room was large, with a separate bedroom and two bathrooms. The grab and go breakfast was very substantial. The negatives were that the doorwall didn't have a screen, so you couldn't keep the doorwall open for fresh air (the a/c unit was very loud). Also, we paid extra for the whirlpool in the room and when we went to use it, it was grimy and not clean on all the sides. We didn't feel comfortable using it, so we got out and didn't use it. It's unfortunate to pay extra money for a whirlpool room and not to be able to use it, since it didn't feel safe.

"Beautiful Views"
Michelle B, 20 Janvier 2023

This hotel is clean, friendly quiet and has beautiful views. It is an older hotel has a fair amount of entrances so easy to park close. Seems to have lots of little sets of stairs. One of the things we love is how many places you can easily walk to, the park, the town, train station and just an overall great place to stay

"Easy walk from Amtrak station even though train hours are awkward and very late at night."
cgkowallis, 16 Janvier 2023

Good dining at the resort, and walkable alternates just minutes away. Friendly competent staff and reasonably clean and modern amenities made my stay pleasant, warm and comfortable. I would definitely stay at Best Western Edgewater Resort another time, and enjoy the close proximity to the Amtrak station nearby.

"Not a good stay"
Kathy K, 02 Janvier 2023

We were originally given a room close to the indoor pool & laundry. The hallway walls had lots of condensation on them. The chlorine smell was very strong and we asked for a different room. We were given one, only to find that the heat didn't work. The maintenance man came & said that he could get the heat on but only if we left a noisy fan on full time.

"Family Vacation at Best Western Edgewater Retreat, Sandpoint, Idaho"
ahbramstadt, 13 Octobre 2022

An outstanding experience. Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly and went beyond what was expected. Breakfast was hot and delicious. A truly enjoyable experience staying at the Best Western Edgewater Resort in Sandpoint, Idaho.

"GREAT LOCATION!"
Roberta M, 11 Octobre 2022

This was my second stay at this facility. It was just as good the second time as the first. Great location, bed and pillows. The restaurant was EXCELLENT! You may be disappointed in the breakfast but that was my only disappointment.

"The worst stay ever"
ssmcphee, 04 Octobre 2022

Comical and pathetic. Will never stay here again. Beds COMPLETELY worn out leaving you in pain if you can even fall asleep, rooms are dark and dank smelling, curtains had dry rot and holes in them, toilet was broken. Fitted sheet actually had a small 1/4” round hole in it. Better be careful what you say if you don't want your neighbor's to hear, walls are so thin you can clearly hear their conversation and above all their snoring too. Will never stay here again and feel very ripped off. I can't believe they actually took my money for this. I have had better beds travelling the world staying at hostels in my youth, and those beds weren't great either……. AVOID THIS PLACE. The restaurant was GREAT. highly recommend making a reservation to eat here or in the lounge which you can do if staying elsewhere too

"Beautiful view of the lake but noisy"
Idaho78, 03 Octobre 2022

The view from our room (all rooms) was of the lake and beautiful. However, hotel is next to a 24/7 railroad track. It was very noisy. The hotel fans (?) helped to drown our the noise of the train, but that being said, the fans were also very noisy.

"Didn't meet expectations"
ericharris51, 26 Septembre 2022

Older hotel, which would be fine but the room was dirty (hair in the shower, empty beer bottle used for an ashtray on the deck). Also, I specifically booked this hotel due to the on-site restaurant and told them this when I called to check. Was very disappointed when I got there and the restaurant was closed for a private event. Seems like they could have mentioned that.

"Pull out couch is a torture device!"
299jodik, 29 Août 2022

Our room was advertised for 6 people - 2 queen beds and one pull out couch/bed. We were travelling with our two adult sons and needed three beds so happy to find this option. We understand that pull out couch beds aren't always the greatest but were very disappointing to find that this one was the worst I had ever seen - absolutely unusable. I would describe it as fabric stretched over metal coils and bars. Pretty much a torture device for the person who lays down on in and for the others in the room because of the noise it made with every movement. This room should not be advertised as sleeping 6 people until they replace this couch/hide a bed with a new one! Other than this major issue the location is great, most of the staff friendly and helpful, and restaurant had great food and ambiance out on the patio. The whole place could use an update but staying right at the city beach within 5 minute walk of shops, restaurants was great!

"Location is the ONLY good thing about this hotel"
C9227DLdanad, 23 Août 2022

We stayed in room 147 on Aug 19-21. The hotel has a great location with a view of the water but that is the extent of the positive. When we tried to access the hotel from the parking lot, the entrance was swarming with bees. We advised the front desk and they said "we are aware". The room is very outdated, the bed is terrible, the curtains have holes in them and the TV is the size of your computer monitor. Very dated. Yes, they offer breakfast but there is no place to eat it so you have to bring it back to your room. And we were on the 1st floor so we could hear the people above us walking, talking, etc. It is quite obvious that no money has been put into this hotel in ages and they rely on their location. It is a noisy, outdated, in desperate need of a renovation hotel with a good location but at least it was expensive! Over $300 per night. Buyer's remorse does not begin to cover my regret about spending money to stay in this hotel.

"Do not recommend"
cfschibel, 21 Août 2022

Grossly outdated, moth-eaten curtains, uncomfortable beds with bizarre tiny half pillows. Towels smelled once wet (slightly fishy) and there were mouse droppings on our tiny patio, on the back of the AC unit. Bees nest right by the entrance to where our room was and there was one maintenance guy that was spraying them as we were trying to load in. Our dog ended up getting stung on the nose by one of those bees during our stay so we entered through a different door for the remainder of our trip. My husband found A LIVE BAT in the hallway and had to report it. There was a dead seagull on the private hotel beach for two days. You can hear every footstep of people above you. Door wouldn't deadbolt because it looked like it had been kicked out at some point. Breakfast was grab and go sugary milk, cereal, or muffins, or Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches warmed up (no options for anyone with allergies to dairy or gluten). Tiny TV. Spotty internet. You are paying for the location but the hotel needs major work and CLEANING. I felt gross staying there and will never go back.

"Don't stay at BW Sandpoint, ID"
MTJared, 19 Août 2022

Room smelled bad, air conditioning was poor at best, the staff could have cared less if we were there or not. And, the price was twice as much as it should have been. Any questions. Just don't stay at this hotel. The only thing it has going for it is the location.

"Great Escape!"
Trail39547478436, 17 Août 2022

I travelled here alone - just wanted to get away for a few days. The hotel was perfect for me: quiet, clean, and relaxing. It's in an old building, so there are some stairs to navigate with suitcases, but they are manageable half-flights mostly. It's also very close to the train station, which was excellent, as my train got in a 3am and I felt safe walking to the hotel. The staff was very nice, helpful, kind (especially in the middle of the night when I arrived/left). I booked the king suite, which felt luxurious but not too indulgent. The jacuzzi was old, but worked really well (I spent a lot of time in the tub!). The balcony (every room has one, I think) was a perfect place to drink my coffee, read my book, and enjoy the beautiful summer scenery and weather! Because the hotel is so close to the train tracks, the old building rattled a but when a train went by, which I found rather charming, especially given the history of the town and the trains (there are some info displays right by the driveway of the hotel). The restaurant was excellent with amazing food and even better drinks! Such a great trip!

"Great staff outdated hotel"
anna20092022, 18 Juillet 2022

Very kind staff makes up for the non working fan in bathroom and the fridge wasn't cold and the smell was very unpleasant muggy and humid thankfully I had sprays and Lysol! It is how ever very convenient for beach use with our small kids! For the price the beds and appearance need a major update

"Great View but not worth the Price"
J0hrn, 13 Juillet 2022

Although the rooms have an incredible view, the high cost for the room is not justified with the service provided. The towels were thin and scratchy and we had to request room cleanings on a daily basis if needed. We understand that all hotels are facing staffing shortages and lingering effects of the pandemic, but the rate charges is for a 5 star hotel and you get a 2.5 star stay.

"Best service Ever!!!"
Reddneck, 27 Juin 2022

Great room! Excellent view. AMAZING service. Food was awesome. Rain at the front counter went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. She is truly a GEM. All staff we met had a smile on their face, and wanted to know if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. We will be back!!

"Best staff ever!"
cecdowdell, 22 Juin 2022

The hotel offers a great location right on the lake, with views of mountains all around, beach, easy bike and walking trails super close by, one block to downtown shops and restaurants. The nearby train tracks that seemed so loud outside were barely noticed in our room. All this was great, but the staff were the best, going above and beyond! We would definitely stay here again.

"Amazing Location, Crappy Hotel"
Whitney W, 17 Juin 2022

You literally couldn't ask for a better setting. Great views, @ City Park, right on Lake Pend Oreille. That's where the positives end. Outdated & dirty. Staff seems to dislike guests, very rude & unpleasant. Checked into a room w/ Cheetos all over the floor & grimey bathroom. When I told front desk, she just looked @ me & said, “That's too bad”, then went on w/ her life… that basically sums up the entire stay. Great views tho & Sandpoint is lovely.

"Nice lake views, old outdated rooms"
fastdude007, 04 Juin 2022

Well, I reviewed this hotel a few times over the past 30 years. The hotel didn't change. The rooms are outdated and old. Our curtain was ripped in two spots and looked terrible. Not sure what's happening with this property, but I hope the new owners take the responsibility and remodel the rooms or bulldoze it down and build new. On a positive, the lake views are great and a short walk to downtown

"View makes the room."
julialinwood, 18 Mai 2022

Wonderful view of the lake and mountains from the room makes a stay here good, but room furniture and furnishings old and stale, lighting dim, need new hangers. Walking distance to shops and restaurants in town. Good size pool. Walking path along the lake, accessible to the beach.

"Should be torn down"
montanam, 09 Mai 2022

This is the shoddiest hotel I have ever stayed at. The room smelled, was dirty, the door partially broken, the furniture dusty, the sheets and bedding stained. The mattresses springs poked through and should have been replaced ages ago. The carpet was dirty, the breakfast did not include coffee and was only packaged processed garbage. This hotel is close to being uninhabitable. I was fairly certain we would leave with bed bugs. For the price I was charged for this experience I had to leave an honest review. It was so disappointing and just gross.

"Exceeded expectations!"
JudyTheGypsy, 25 Avril 2022

Made a last minute decision to stay based on trip advisor reviews, and was so glad I did! This BW is located at City Beach. My room had a balcony and lovely view of the adjoining lake and mountains. Biggest surprise was dinner at the in-house restaurant - exceptional menu! The salmon ND from-scratch calm chowder were exceptional, as was the wait staff. Thenspring pice point and lack of crowds made this stay memorable. Doubt I would have been nearly as impressed in summer...

"Cautious to Outstanding"
donride15, 31 Mars 2022

After reading some of the reviews, I was more than a little cautious. In fact, when I got into town, I looked over the property before making my reservation from the parking lot. First Concern - Front Desk - Evelyn was kind friendly, and recommended a great place for dinner - 2nd Ave. Pizza. I would go there again too! Second Concern - Rooms - They were neat, clean, and comfortable. Beds were comfy too. Third Concern - Over all - Great! I forgot a comb for my hair. Paulette (front desk in the morning) got me a comb AND when I returned to check out - Complimented me on my HAIR. Thanks Paulette Fourth Concern - Personnel / Manager - The cleaning staff were friendly and visited with me. I met Emily, the Manager when I checked out. Emily is great! She shared with me that the property was due for a remodel, but with ...you know the routine, it has been pushed back. Remodel or no remodel, I would stay at the Edgewater Resort in a heartbeat! Great view, clean rooms, friendly staff, and good value. What more could you want?

"Terrible beds"
Reicherttravels, 28 Mars 2022

The beds are poor quality and super uncomfortable. A hotel should make sure above all else the beds and pillows are high quality, comfortable, and regularly replaced. In a business where a place to sleep is the main purpose this should be priority.

"Poor service, charged for an extra day when we checked out on time, dirty room."
AmandaHDP2022, 09 Février 2022

Sadly we did not enjoy our stay. We picked the Edgewater Best Western for our trip this time and are sad we did. The carpet near the whirl pool tub has nails sticking out, the bedroom carpet had visible dirt and other things that can be picked up if vacuumed, the wall paper in the room/bath room is dirty. Staff was unfriendly, the restaurant was unaccommodating for a dinner. Just avoid this place.

"Overall ok. Front desk very unfriendly. Restaurant was great!"
kmweske, 07 Février 2022

Front desk was very unfriendly. I don't even think she looked up the whole time. Nor did she say “have a great stay”. Just asked for last name and ID. Restaurant attached to hotel was great! They delivered to the room in a timely manner.

"Great location to walk around Sandpoint"
702cindylou, 19 Décembre 2021

Wonderful location to walk around Sandpoint and enjoy all that it has to offer. Convenient parking to room. Front desk staff was friendly. All of the rooms face towards the lake and have amazing views.

"Our tenth stay"
223Groke, 18 Novembre 2021

Off season price is very reasonable. The best hotel location in Sandpoint, easy half-block walk to downtown. This place is a bit worn out. Staff is friendly. They are closed for breakfast which is too bad because it was the best in town. Unable to say nice things about the dinner so I won't comment except that lounge is noisy, food mediocre and expensive. Wonderful waterfront deck. Easy to get to room from car. Very ugly noise from pop machine opposite room 232. Look forward to the rebuiild and hope we can afford it.

"Always a good visit"
schuldt56, 17 Novembre 2021

Enjoy the location and the service. Always a nice getaway. Too bad it will be torn down and replaced. We will enjoy it while we can. Also nice to have the restaurant and lounge attached to the hotel. .

"Location, Location, Location"
bobbievedvick, 12 Octobre 2021

We love this hotel. It's placed RIGHT on a broad lawn that edges the lake. Easy walking to town. Nice big pool and hot tub. What it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in location. Breakfast is nothing. Jimmy Dean's version of the McMuffin. The McMuffin is better. But there are good restaurants in town to try. Looks and feels a tad old at first glance, but rooms are clean and everything works. No cleaning service anymore unless you specifically ask. You have to be fast, though, because the cleaning staff is only there from 10:00AM to 3PM. It has a nice sized pool that accommodates a lot of kids at once. We like to get a room on the bottom floor because it opens right up to the lawn for easy outdoor access in and out of the room for kids. And the pool is just down the hall. Over all, it's not fancy, but we've built so many memories here in the past 2 years, this is the only place the kids want to stay when in Idaho. Suits me fine. Close to trains but not too bad. I'm a light sleeper and it didn't bother me.

"Wonderful Visit"
T1069HKnickb, 10 Octobre 2021

While this is a bit place may be a bit "outdated" to many, I love it. If you want to step back 25 years and enjoy the simple good old days this is the place for you. It was clean, friendly, and welcoming. Everything you need is here. Location, great staff, amenities, and scenery. In today's world of electronics and rush this place brings you back to the joys of simply enjoying vacation. I hope it never changes.

"Great Location!"
Irishimp17, 29 Septembre 2021

Excellent location right at the city beach, and the ground floor rooms have sliding glass doors to sit and watch the water. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but they did answer any questions that we had. I would definitely stay here again. I didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and well kept.

"Awesome hotel with an incredible view"
Oksana349, 29 Septembre 2021

Every room has a view of Lake Pend Oreille - cannot go wrong there. The room is spacious and clean, with all the amenities that we might need. The restaurant is amazing. Front office staff were super helpful. Good parking space as well.

"look for a motel 6"
bobthenashvillenorth, 07 Septembre 2021

If out dated and run down is what you are looking for than this is worth the $400 but if you expect a little more for your money got to the motel 6!! I never leave reviews but I was extremely disappointed with this room for the cost, I don't mind spending money if the value is worth it. The room was clean and the staff very nice but the blackout curtains had hundreds of holes and the wallpaper in the bathroom was pealing. The beach side patio was a unmaintained gravel and grass area with a couple of plastic chairs

"Great Location"

This hotel has wonderful views of the lake! If the smoke from the fires were not so bad, we would have loved to sit on our patio and enjoy the view. The hotel was dated, but that did not bother us, we were not in the room a lot. The beds were too soft for my daughter and I, but I would still recommend the Best Western in Sandpoint!

The BW Edgewater resort is the perfect location for a family & pet vacation. The hotel rooms literally opens right to the Sandpoint City Beach with sandy beaches and swim area. The hotel has a large green grassy field for kids or pets to play in. The pool area was clean and comfortable to relax at. We ordered from the lounge restaurant. Due to Covid there was limited seating but they delivered our dinner directly to our room. The food was delicious & the lounge menu was reasonably priced. And we got to eat on our own private patio looking out at the beautiful lake. Everything was an easy fun walk from the hotel- shopping & cute restaurants are just over the bridge. There was a nice flat dirt walking trail just steps from the hotel that followed the lake edge perfect for pets & non hikers. And Silverwood Theme Park and Tree to Tree aerial park are only approximately a half hour from the hotel.

"Great place to stay"
61Tom, 19 Juillet 2021

This is the perfect location, only downfall is very little parking. But the 3 employees I interacted with made it worthwhile. Right on the river and downtown is within walking distance made it really nice.

"GREAT Location"
KayteeHC, 19 Juillet 2021

Located near a wonderful city beach, with a nice trail you can run, bike, or walk on. Easy to walk in to town. Rooms are average-nothing fancy. All the rooms seem to face the beach and have small balconies which is nice. You pay a lot for the location. Staff was very nice. Hotel is next to train tracks where weheard 50-60 trains pass every day. We did not hear them as the rooms face out to the water.

"Over rated motel"
jkyboxers, 11 Juillet 2021

Terrible price for the area…for a designation resort it was similar to a motel experience but was on the beach…they were out of towels and there were webs and spiders in the room…Bed appeared clean until I got the ultraviolet light out…bed cover was stained

"Best Location"
cjmjco, 23 Juin 2021

This hotel is right on the beach area and appeared to be the only hotel on the beach. It was walking distance to the restaurants in town, the beach, playground and trails. They had a nice continental breakfast with hot egg/sausage sandwiches, fruit, bars, coffee, tea, muffins. The indoor pool and hot tub and gym was better looking in person than in pictures. I would recommend the ground floor room as you can walk straight out to the beach/water. We had a king suite and regular 2 queen bed room. Both had microwave and refrigerator which was unexpected. My only complaint is that they did not have beach chairs available or for rental. We purchased cheap chairs from Walmart and just left them at the front desk to give to someone else to use as we were flying home. The restaurant was very good but closed on Tues/Wed as most places were in Sandpoint. There were signs on the doors indicating they were closed due to a shortage of employees.

"Worth Returning To"
Sungron, 19 Juin 2021

Rooms are comfortable and provide lots of amenities. The water view is outstanding. Staff are cooperative and helpful. The breakfast downstairs is takeout due to COVID, but are tasty. This facility provides just about anything you want for a one night or extended stay.

"Great location,shabbyhotel"
3522, 07 Juin 2021

The hotel has a beautiful view,a lovely beach and some boat slips. Unfortunately that is the only reason to stay there. Our room had holes in the drapes which were hanging off the track. The towels were like sand paper and the bedding was poor. There was no toilet paper or tissues when we checked in. The room was so dusty and when I mentioned all this to the front desk clerk she shrugged her shoulders and said “ housekeeping “. We had requested extra pillows but none were there saying that the office didn't tell her. It's obvious that there is a lot of deferred maintenance. The on-site restaurant was closed 5 of the 6 days we were there.

Clean room Great view Large room with coffee maker microwave and fridge Comfortable beds and great towels and bathroom amenities Friendly efficient staff The train goes by a lot but never bothered us We could hear the neighbors but they were quite at night Would stay again

"First covid venture out"
jwd54444, 23 Mai 2021

The hotel was so friendly and accessible. Masking was voluntary as we were vaccinated did not feel uncomfortable in restaurant but seating was spaces for covid comfort. That was appreciated. Our family dog was with us which was a comfort to our grandchildren during these covid times. The near location to town was appreciated to be able to walk about. Room noise from above was loud. Only drawback.

"Dated with views"
cookieladyBayArea, 10 Mai 2021

The staff and views are great but the hotel is aging and needs an update. We noticed dust underneath the bed. The furniture and carpeting are old. Toilet low and difficult to rise from. Shower handle loose .Bathroom could use a deep cleaning.

"Best place to stay in Sandpoint"
bravehearted6, 27 Avril 2021

Staff is always friendly. Restaurant/bar is excellent and the people are fun to visit with. Room is always clean. Summer stays here are fantastic as you're as close to the lake as you can get. Location is good as you can walk to all the places on First/Cedar streets and the surrounding old Sandpoint areas.

"Staff was very nice, there are some issues with the facility"
tim49gilmore, 08 Avril 2021

We enjoyed our stay. However, the company should invest in some door sill ramps, more robust towels, and better quality tissue. Also, the air conditioning was locked into a "heat only" mode which was annoying

"Pet-friendly overnight stay"
Kris_K_D, 27 Mars 2021

We reserved a first floor double queen, pet-friendly room. We were travelling with our new 8-week-old puppy and wanted easy, private access to a lawn for late night potty training. The sliding glass door to the patio, grass, and lake was perfect. The room's location was in exile, at the building's far north (past the pool) in what felt like a basement. However, the bonus to being underground: no train noise! With all rooms facing east, when the lake is full, I imagine the view is especially lovely. Off-season, the snow-covered mountains are a pretty sight past the muddy lakebed. As other reviewers noted, the rooms are dated. They were probably nice in the late-1980s or early-1990s. The shower certainly hasn't been updated, as shown in my photo, but the furniture is in surprisingly good condition. There were two luggage benches, a 3-drawer dresser, a nightstand, a table with two chairs, and a cabinet concealing a microwave and mini fridge. There was plenty of room for us, our gear, and the puppy, his crate, toys, and other accoutrements. We were pleasantly surprised there was no noticeable odor, common with pet-friendly rooms. But, room 143 was either not used recently or received poor housekeeping (or both) because there was dust on the nightstand, the dresser, and the two side chairs, and I found a shriveled contact lens on the bathroom floor. The restaurant was not serving breakfast at the time of our visit. However, the hotel set out a small selection of packaged grab-and-go breakfast items in their tiny reception area. It was better than nothing, but nowhere near the usual average Best Western fare. We paid a premium for a weekend night stay. In general, I wouldn't say it was worth it, except for the view and the easy lawn access we wanted. If you don't have that need, I highly recommend the Best Western nearby in Ponderay instead. There's a pasture, creek and mountain view (ask for a west-facing room), and it's an updated, clean facility at a better price.

"Won't be back"
angeline123419, 23 Mars 2021

I have to say between the front desk lady and the horrible beds I will not be back to this hotel!! The front desk lady was rude confrontational and not very knowledgeable. The beds I can say must likely the worst beds I've ever slept in. The entry to the room was a safety issue my aunt in her 70's just about broke herself on the lip entry to room. Bathroom toilet area is ridiculous..Very dissatisfied will not be back

"Valentines Weekend at the Edgewater!!!"
BigRed2124, 16 Février 2021

My wife and I stayed at the Edgewater over Valentines Weekend. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend. The hotel is very convenient to downtown Sandpoint within an easy walk to anything. The hot tub and pool were very nice. We also had a king room with a two person jetted tub which was outstanding. The front desk was awesome and very friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurant "Trinity" is excellent very good selection of dinner entrees and the bar served very good drinks. The view from our room was breath-taking with the snowcapped mountains and the beautiful lake, we also saw two bald eagles while we were there. The downtown has excellent restaurants for a very burger the Burger Dock was a very nice surprise and the new MickDuff's locations were a huge change. We already re-booked a stay for the summer to enjoy the lake and beautiful beach located 100 feet from our sliding glass doors of our room. I highly recommend this hotel with its great location.

"Wouldn't stay again..."
J Ty F, 15 Février 2021

It was freezing in our room when we Got to our room turned the thermostat heat up appeared to be OK after we got back from dinner and downtown, but it didn't work again as we slept... got very cold at night... then when we got up in the morning there was barely enough hot water to take a shower... When we checked out we explained everything she gave us a 10% discount and said that was all she could do so I said no hot water and no heat and that was the best that they could offer? she said well how come you didn't call us and I said were we supposed to call you at one in the morning and then change rooms?

"Great place to stay for the price!!"

Ski trip time: Stay here, Located down town easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Summertime: Stay here, located right on the shore and park edge easy access to water and boating! Restaurant has fantastic food also!

"Out-dated property"
479sheilao, 26 Janvier 2021

Usually stay at the Ponderay Best Western but decided to try the Edgewater. Will not make that mistake again. Very old and tired looking. The TV is the smallest TV I have seen in a hotel room in decades. Terrible water pressure and the towels are paper thin. I have been told the facility is going to be torn down. That needs to happen sooner than later.

"Showing Its Age"
Myrtle50, 22 Janvier 2021

The Edgewater has the best location, but it's starting to show its age. Every room has a lake view and I just soaked up that view from the balcony. We were going to extend our stay by a 2nd night if any room was available, but after trying to sleep on that too-soft mattress with too-poofy pillows, I told my husband we needed to move on. The staff were welcoming, the room is very small and dated with a very small TV, and equipped with thin towels. None of that mattered to me, but I gotta have my sleep!

"Best Western Sandpoint"
DJLewa, 22 Janvier 2021

This is an amazing location. The staff is always professional and friendly. They will accommodate any requests if they can. I'm The rooms are dated but you can't beat the view. There is a bar and restaurant onsite. This is my go to hotel when visiting Sandpoint.

"Unresponsive staff"
Igor D, 08 Janvier 2021

The stay would have been okay if not for a security incident which I reported to the staff, verbally and in writing, and to which I received no response. I informed the staff at the reception of a security incident where one of the hotel residents was knowingly and conspicuously smoking on the front porch of the hotel, with the hotel door open. The smoke was getting straight back into the hallway and was causing a strong smell of tobacco on the second floor. When I requested the smoking gentleman to close the door and step away from the building he started cursing, repeatedly using the f*** word in front of my children. I videotaped the incident and showed it to the hotel staff immediately. The hotel staff responded by saying "yeah, he really shouldn't be doing that", and that was it -- no attempt to warn the man or follow up with him or me in any. It appears, the hotel staff just don't care.

tiki1313, 01 Novembre 2020

Best Western Edgewater is a great plasce to stay. We originally were going to check into Whyndam hotel on Sherman in Coeur d'Alene but the receptionist was psychotic. We on the spur of the moment called The Edgewater and it was no problem. By the time we arrived, they had a room for us and checked us in immediately. Sonja and Alexus are awesome people. They really care. I hope you get to meet them!

"Outstanding and caring staff"
TeresaM1006, 24 Octobre 2020

We have been here 2 days so far. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are big and comfortable. Idaho is on Level 4 COVID. Please wear a mask if you have medical issues because most people don't except staff. The restaurant in the hotel, Trinity has excellent food and good choices. I would return without a doubt.

"Updates needed"
danipacetti, 20 Octobre 2020

The restaurant is great, ate here twice before (found out this trip it was privately run). But it originally gave us the impression that this location would be a nice stay and we looked forward to a week here next summer. Our room was old and outdated and smelled very musty; so much, even our clothes smelled of it when home. The bathrooms were horrible, the toilet was a joke in itself, we compared it to going in the woods, lol. And while taking it in, I thought, well maybe it as clean as it can get in it being so old, but other things made me think twice about that. Like the Keurig was extremely dusty and sticky and or similar things of that nature, that made the visit even more awkward in not wanting to touch things or take a shower barefoot. No breakfast, just pre-packaged convenience store muffins to avoid. You'd think they'd at least contract the restaurant for some fresh baked goods. The front desk area was nice, but check in staff was just shy of making you feel that you were an inconvenience. The check out, was a bit nicer, but we complained about nothing, just no need, they know what they have to offer, why spoil her effort. We come to Sandpoint often, because of family. It's a shame we paid this much for this room ($250 a night), I feel a bit taken. I seriously have no respect for this establishment other than they got lucky on who runs the restaurant and it's location on the water.

"Great stay!"
Heather B, 05 Octobre 2020

We love the Edgewater and have never had a bad experience in all the years we've been staying here. So peaceful and quiet. We love just sleeping in and then watching the boats and seaplanes. Highly recommend this property!

"Clean room LOL!"
TlovesCtravelers, 27 Septembre 2020

We arrived for our anniversary weekend. Rented a King room. Checked in and the rom was disgusting. Smelled like a locker room and the furniture hadn't been dusted in over a week. I could write my name on the dresser. We asked for a different room. The reluctantly moved us. That room wasn't much better. Smelled better but still dusty and cigarette butts on the deck. We let the manager know. The next morning the alarm in the room went off at 6. We did not set it. Went back to sleep. Got woken up around 8 from the maids cussing about us very loudly in the next room. It woke my husband up and he went to the manager and let him know. They compensated the room. Money was never the issue. We stay at BW all over the country and have never had a more worse experience then this. I wouldn't even give them 1 star. Will never stay there again.

"Very enjoyable girls' getaway"
raymondmH7981XK, 23 Septembre 2020

This hotel has beautiful grounds right on City Beach. Its centrally located within walking distance of pretty much everything. The views of the lake from all the rooms are beautiful. We ate at Trinity restaurant one night and had drinks in the lounge every night, the service was awesome and food/drinks were all excellent. Room was clean except near the balcony where there were a lot of dead bugs on the ceiling/light fixtures and curtains, but I think it's probably pretty hard to avoid that, being so close to the lake. We used the hot tub and pool and both were clean and the hot tub was actually hot unlike some places! I really appreciated that. The sauna was closed due to COVID. All of the staff were super friendly and really made our stay so enjoyable. The only criticism we had was that the beds were uncomfortable and not padded much, they were hard and you could feel the springs, so we didn't sleep very well. I expected better for the price point (about twice as much than for other hotels). But everything else was great. A word to anyone with mobility issues: This hotel does not have an elevator, and there is a decent walk from some of the rooms to the front desk, pool, restaurant etc. You may want to request a room near those if walking/stairs are a problem for you. I would definitely stay here again, especially if the mattresses get an upgrade!

"Amazing location, helpful staff"
RoadTripPlanner, 13 Septembre 2020

This older hotel stands in the best possible location in Sandpoint: right on the beach and only a short walk from shops and dining. An on-site restaurant with outdoor dining (overlooking the lake) is a plus for road-weary travelers. Staff members were attentive and friendly, happily answering our many questions about dining options and rooms available. Mask rules were adhered to. Our room was clean and comfortable, but the hotel could use some updating. Given the prime location, new carpets and room upgrades would seem like a worthwhile investment.

"Invasion at the lake"
685pattif, 24 Août 2020

August 24th 2020 To whom it may concern: I am writing in regard to some unfortunate circumstances that happened to us (Mike and Patti Franks) during our stay at the Edge Water Best Western in Sandpoint Idaho on August 22nd 2020. First, upon checking in at the Edge Water hotel on Saturday around 5:00 pm, the front desk manager stated that we did not have a reservation. Mike, my husband, stated that he did call to reserve a room and he recalled specific conversations with the hotel staff. At this time, during the phone call, the hotel staff signed my husband up for the Best Western hotel rewards program so we could get a discount on our room reservation. Mike had also requested to be put near our friend, whose name is not common, so the staff had to search his full name and they did find him in the system. They told my husband that they could not guarantee a room right next door due to rooms only being assigned at the time of check in. These two specific conversations happened during the time he called to reserve a room, but we found out they did not reserve a room for us. The manager did say he did have a room for us. He gave us room 230 and our room key that has 230 written on it also. He then pointed in the direction of the room and stated it was in the middle of the long hall. We thanked him and went into our room. About an hour later, while we were in our room and just got out of the shower and started to get dressed a couple walked right into our room with their bags in hand. My husband stopped what he was doing and asked them what they were doing in our room. They looked shocked and said they were just given the key to our room upon them checking in. My husband then stated, “we just got this room” and he showed them our room key with 230 written on it. They instantly apologized and left quickly. Soon after that we left with our large group of friends to go to dinner. We stayed out about 2 hours then came back to the hotel because we were tired from being out on the water all day. I (Patti) was also sunburned on my chest and the top of my legs, so I just wanted to take off my clothes and lay in bed and relax. We both fell asleep between 8 or 9 and we took advantage of the two beds, because of the sunburn, we each feel asleep in our own bed. Sometime in the middle of the night I heard what sounded like a key card being swiped though our door. I honestly thought it was our friends playing a joke on us and trying to get in, but I did not hear any voices. So, I just laid there thinking “OMG, someone is trying to get into our room, and it is not our friends because they would be laughing or trying to talk to us through the door. This was the point when I was starting to get freaked out. Then it went silent for about 10 minutes. Then I heard a key card being swiped again and this time I heard my door open but being stopped by the lock bar on the top of the door. I was then starting to panic and looked over to my husband, but I could not see if he was awake or not. I was in complete shock and did not even react to wake him up. Next there was two large bang sounds that made me jump and our door swung open and our lights turned on and a lady was standing at the foot of my bed with large bolt cutters in her hand. I was completely terrified and started to shake. I did not have a top on due to my sunburn and quickly pulled up the sheet I had on me. She then started to scream at us. Her words to us were “why the hell are you in our room, who are you guys, you guys need to leave” My husband instantly sat up in bed with only his briefs on and told the lady that we reserved this room. She then replied that we did not reserve this room and it is reserved for another person and we needed to leave. My husband pointed to the card with the room number on it and said this is the room we were given. During this conversation, the ladies voice was consistently raised. She stood at the foot of my bed with the lights on and kept telling us this was not our room and that we would have to get out. My husband told her she needed to leave, and she finally did. About three minutes later she called to tell us that the person who checked us in messed up and we were supposed to be in another room. Mike replied, stating that was not our fault and that we were not moving into another room. That is when the phone call just ended. We laid back down in awe of what just happened. I honestly thought this whole time that someone was playing a joke on us. So now we are awake and totally freaked out about the entire ordeal that just happened and we are unable to fall back asleep. The doors top safety lock is broken so we know at any time someone can just swipe a key and get into our room. The next morning, we wake after getting about 2 hours of sleep. We packed up quickly because by this time we just want to get home. When we walk up to the front desk and put the key card on the table and the lady quickly sees the number on the card and says to us “ Oh my god, I am so sorry for last night and their will be no charge for the room for the night”. Mike asked her if she knew what had happened since she was not the same lady who walked in on us. She said she knew some of the details but not all of them. Mike replayed the entire situation with her, and she was in shock. She said she did not know that is what happened. Mike asked her if that was protocol when they give a wrong room to a person, that they barge in at midnight breaking down the door and yell at the person telling them to get out. She said it was not standard procedure. She said the lady who did this was the night manager and sometimes she can have anger issues. Her exact words were “yes she can have anger issues, but I still love her”. We told her how wrong all of it was and how scared we were, and she agreed with us saying she was sorry and that was not supposed to happen. My husband asked to speak to the hotel manager and the front desk lady she would have him call us. Mike left his phone number with her and then we left. I know from an ethical standpoint this was uncalled for. This should have never happened! Not once did we receive a phone call or a knock on the door asking for our names and to check to see if we had a reservation or not. Not once did she have permission to go into our room. We were not doing anything illegal and we have rights to privacy when we book a room in a hotel. How come the front desk did not know we were in this room after the couple were given keys to our room and walked right in. They had to of said to the front desk that, “there is a couple in that room already, we need a different room”. Wouldn't that alone give them enough information to alert them that they did already book the room out. They instead waited till midnight to bust open our door and yell at us to get out! It just does not make sense to us. Additionally, the lady who burst into our room did not apologize, not once! About two hours after we got home my husband received an email from the manger, whom he requested to call him, but he did not. This email was an apology letter stating the mishap in the rooms was not handled correctly and he blamed himself and stated that he would be talking to the night manger about this. He said he would like to offer a free night stay in the hotel to make up for nightmare we went through. After talking with our friends, about 20 of them, who all stayed the same night we did, were also in disbelief. We feel that a free night does not even come close to compensation for what happened to us. Please let us know what your company policy is on proper compensation on these types of egregious privacy violations. We are completely traumatized about what happened! We are all on the verge of writing a trip advisor review to warn others of what could happen. We also have a call into our lawyer to attain information about what our legal rights are as a hotel guest. Mike and I are people with reputable character, and we have never been in a situation like this before. We feel like we need to take a stand for the horrific events that happened because it was so unreal to us! Best Regards, Mike and Patti

"Great location, good restaurant, nice very personal attention from staff"
couplessPS, 10 Août 2020

We had a nice room with a great view of the lake. It was perfectly clean and a nice size. Just a short walk to the center of town and an even shorter one to the pier and to the public beach. We had a snafu on meeting our friends where we were staying so this was a last minute choice and we were very happy to have any place at all, and delighted that this one was so well positioned to the lake. Rooms were the usual older motel rooms- but the lake view compensated for all that. Not fancy- but we'd go again.

"Great location "
brianbJ2276KS, 06 Août 2020

2 night stay. great location for swimming walking shopping and eating. Older hotel but clean and quiet nice view from balcony. Only ate one night a restaurant second night had desert both were good. Will come back again.

"Old and tired but great location"
Arlo89, 20 Juillet 2020

The location of this hotel is really wonderful. The views of the lake are beautiful, and there's a great trail that's right down the street. But, the hotel has obviously been well loved and could use a major upgrade. Beyond the rather shabby furnishings, it just didn't feel very clean. There were stains on the sheets and pillowcases for both beds, and there were cobwebs all over the balcony railing. We asked for new sheets, which it seems we received, but the pillowcases were not changed, as we recognized the same stains. The front desk personnel weren't particularly friendly or helpful. The pool/hot tub area were absolutely teeming with children, so we opted not to use those facilities. For $250/night, I expected better quality accommodations.

"Dirty and Smelly"
qazplmwsc, 09 Juillet 2020

I was hesitant to travel during Covid, but thought they would clean even better. The first room they gave us had hair on the bathroom floor and tub and dirt on floor. We told them immediately and they gave us a different room. It was a nightmare of four rooms we tried and all had hair, dirt and the last room had urine smell. They offer us to stay free, but we opted to leave.

"GOOD, BAD AND UGLY!!"
jrundall, 09 Juillet 2020

Pretty pricey for outdated hotel Views of lake are spectacular Room had cobwebs and holes in curtains Renovation is badly needed Short walk to town and a great walking trail around the lake The staff were friendly and efficient Microwave and frig included Small tv Beds are comfortable Train tracks are right across parking lot but trains don't run at night Great restaurant attached

"Great location, nice staff, good experience"
baileyno6, 04 Juillet 2020

We stayed three days leading up to the 4th of July holiday at the Best Western Edgewater hotel. It was nice. The hotel was quiet, which is a surprise as the highway and the train tracks go right along side of the hotel. I had no idea that many trains went through Sandpoint! However, we were not bothered by them in the room. The location is unbeatable (right on city beach park) and the staff were always pleasant. The rooms were nice though a bit dated. We enjoyed our stay.

"Crazy Place!"
jjeking, 22 Juin 2020

I've stayed a few times at the Edgewater through the years. I picked a bad time to stay there...I booked it back in December, 2019 for this June. Father's day weekend during Covid-19 in Idaho. Tons of kids yelling and running in the rooms and hallways all around me! Fortunately, I have earbuds which helped a bit. They did settle down around 10 p.m. I planned this solo trip as a get away, so I could relax, read, swim in the pool and wade in the water...get a massage (Highly recommend Highland Day Spa and Wildflower at the Seasons for pampering). It is close to shopping and dining. I thought the food was way over priced for what I got (Room Service from Trinity). The noise and loud kids (and adults) and the lack of face masks and social distancing were not the fault of the hotel, of course. Just make sure you don't get a room across from the vending machines--maybe get a room on the top floor at the far end of the hotel.

"Housekeeping"
charlessE5866JP, 08 Juin 2020

We were excited about visiting Sandpoint, ID. Initially the people at the front desk were great..However the following day at our request for house keeping, we came back after 2PM to learn our room wasn't cleaned. We asked the front desk for an explination and they said housekeeping had left at 1PM. We then asked for sheets and extra towels..they did not have a fitted sheet for our bed...we ended up making our own bed..and we have dirty towels in the room. The towels are VERY scratchy...The bathroom is extremely small. Very disappointing.

"Business trip to Sandpoint 2"
Ebiller, 17 Mars 2020

A great place to stay when in Sandpoint, beautiful views and great place to walk and enjoy the lake and mountains. The food is wonderful, the people take very good care of you. The pool is is a nice treat.

"Overpriced"
rtw123, 17 Mars 2020

An okay motel, but quite a bit overpriced. The room was okay, the staff was okay, though not terribly helpful. Don't pay their walk-in price, which is even more a rip off - book online if you really want to stay there. Overall, not a memorable experience. You can stay for half as much in the Sandpoint area.

"Bad Beds & Salty Food"
Weekendvacationer202, 15 Mars 2020

I would not spend money on this place again. Beds hurt my family and friends backs and made sleeping difficult. The restaurant serves mediocre VERY salty food. The amenenties weren't fully accessible. For the price the experience should have been more enjoyable.

"Best Little Hotel In Sandpoint"
elitessler, 09 Mars 2020

Great spot, awesome service, and leave your worries behind. Location is a breath of fresh air as the place sits right next to Lake Ponderay. The adjacent restaurant is steps away from the room and if you don't feel like walking there, no worries, just order room service! Everything there is very affordable. Highly recommend. Get your reservations in early, especially during the warmer and drier months of the year.

"Great food and drinks."
papastorm, 05 Mars 2020

Experience great dinning at their restaurant. Also, there and makes exact drinks as well. The service was prompt and friendly. The views from the dinning room are amazing. You have a 180 degree view of the lake.

"Overpriced for what you get"
barker222020, 28 Janvier 2020

Compared to other Best Westerns, this Sandpoint hotel was a letdown. No free breakfast, dated furnishings and thin walls. Beautiful location though and the hot tub and pool looked nice (but we're super busy).

"Happy and Content"
TasteofTuscany, 09 Janvier 2020

Nice view for our tastes, friendly staff, pool and hot tub are maintained.Nice location for easy walking access and enviromentally aware hotel. Decent rooms with a nice restaraunt attached. The trains are frequent beside the hotel and do affect your sleep when the rumble comes about every five minutes just to be fare. Otherwise nice.

"OK hotel. A but dated and loud"
michaelmC8905EK, 27 Décembre 2019

The hotel is OK. It's a bit dated and oddly laid out for the price. No breakfast, could use a remodel but was pretty clean. The biggest problem are the very loud and very frequent trains that run right next to the property. You can hear and feel them all day/night long.

"NOISE !!"
RetFrog, 08 Décembre 2019

This was the worst stay we have ever had. Noise, noise, noise. From paper thin walls and floors to constant trains and an air conditioning unit that kicks on every few minutes and sounds like a jet engine. We just wanted a quiet weekend away from home (an hour away) and were so upset with all the noise that we checked out after only one night and went home.....where it is actually QUIET. NEVER will we visit this hotel again.

"Breath taking"
Tami K, 25 Novembre 2019

The historical property set on the lakes shore is incredible. The rooms have a vintage historical ambiance that takes you back in time. The staff is friendly and the pool can't be beat with its lakeside view.

"Exceptional Views and Amazing Food!"
cassieuc, 23 Novembre 2019

My son and I had an exceptional experience at the Sandpoint Best Western. All of the rooms have a view of the lake. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. The room was clean and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The best part by far was the food. We ordered room service several times and the food was right up there with some of the best restaurants I have visited and I am very picky. We will be back the next time we are in the area.

"A Relaxing Overnight Stay"
LynnPQ, 20 Novembre 2019

We used our free night from the Buy Two Stay One Night Free promotion during a daytrip to nearby Sandpoint, ID. We love this hotel's proximity to downtown, and the views from the room are great! The pool and workout facility is kept nicely, and all the staff are so friendly. Trinity Restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and shares the great view of the lake as well. It is near Schweitzer ski resort, an amusement park, antique shops, and art galleries, so it makes for a very enjoyable stay in the area!

"Gorgeous lake views"
Justin D, 18 Novembre 2019

Property has an excellent location right on the lake and is just a short walk from downtown sandpoint. Service was excellent and the rooms were clean. The property did feel a bit dated though and could definitely use a remodel. I would still highly recommend it to anyone traveling to sandpoint.

"Probably better in summer"
Ken A, 11 Novembre 2019

We were there in early October for a conference. The resort is located on the waterfront, and has fantastic views and access to the lake. The room was a good size, as was the pool. Unfortunately the heating system is antiquated and as such it was quite cold our first night, so we had to get maintenance to help. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

"Nice amenities, friendly staff, good beach-side location, breakfast not included"
BenLar137, 29 Octobre 2019

There were many things we liked about this hotel, such as the friendly staff, the room decor, and the good-sized pool and hot tub. There is a good restaurant on-site, but it doesn't provide a free or discounted breakfast for guest as most other Best Westerns do. We liked that the hotel is within walking distance to the trail network and the charming downtown, with its many restaurants, shops and cafes, including the unique Cedar Street Market shops. The room was clean and big enough for the two of us, and our room was on a walk-out level to the beach. The hotel is located right next to the railway, and even on our lower room, we still heard the trains rumble by - though not expressly loud. Unfortunately above our lower level room were noisy guests who got up at 4:18 a.m. and we heard them walking around.

"Best Western"
C4769CXjamesn, 04 Octobre 2019

Just happened on to this place. Great location, nice staff. Had a nice stay, would come back again. Would reccommend to friends. Beautiful lake views and nice resteraunt location. Outdoor dining is lovely, but a little chili this time of year.

"Great Location"
Rick J, 02 Octobre 2019

Little dated but clean. All rooms face the lake and it is beside the Sandpoint Beach Park. The breakfast (not included) was amazing and well priced. Highly recommend this Resort if visiting the Sandpoint area!!

"Great Overall"
66timj, 01 Octobre 2019

From the quality of the check in to the cleanliness of the room and the view of the lake this is a great place. Highly recommended. Easy walking distance to town and the waterfront. Attached restaurant very good as well.

"Good location and very beautiful rooms"
Wanderer57385475805, 01 Octobre 2019

This was a beautiful spot right on the beach! Unfortunately it was 30° out when I went but no the less! Beautiful rooms with a great view of the water! Beds where slightly uncomfortable for my liking but other than that it was a great spot right by the water! Right next to town so everything is in walking distance!!

"Nice view-needs TLC-across the street from the railroad"
Carol B, 22 Septembre 2019

Our hotel room was nothing like what other reviews are saying! No elevators! Nice view, but our room had problems with the shower and tub. I reported the problems and they weren't fixed for our next night. The room needed to be deep cleaned. The bed skirt was not attached properly and was a tripping hazard. Under the bed I found several empty bags. This place needs a little TLC after the summer rush. We heard the train from about 6 am to 11 pm. If you're a light sleeper, this isn't the place for you.

"Very comfortable"
schuldt56, 12 Septembre 2019

Stay here often. Easy, relaxing, getaway. Nice location and views. Restaurant and lounge are great. Close to town. Too bad it is the last year for this place. Hope whatever they replace it with will not be out of our price range. Hope they can keep the restaurant as well.

"A great vacation stop"
Ron M, 11 Septembre 2019

This was a great location, in downtown Sandpoint, close to all amenities and loads of restaurants and shopping. The hotel restaurant was excellent. The staff went out of their way to help us during our stay. Shout out to Krickett, Cara and Cathy!

"Very accommodating"
julieholt05, 07 Septembre 2019

The room we used had 2 queen beds plus a pull out couch. The kitchenette area even had complimentary snacks, water, and dishware to use. The balcony had great views of the beach. They didn't make it difficult to have our small dog stay with us. The front desk ladies were very kind and helpful. The only two negatives were that the beds and especially the pullout were very uncomfortable (springs felt), and the floors seem to be thin. I mention that because apparently there was another family with children below us that were having trouble getting their kids. to sleep because ours were playing and it waa nothing obnoxious.

"Nice location, on the lake"
christinehQ1362YX, 05 Septembre 2019

We had an upstairs room that was perfectly satisfactory but nothing very special--this is not a new hotel and it is what it is. But it is nicely located overlooking the lake and our room had a sliding door opening to a small balcony, which was nice, because we could leave the door open for real air all night. Be aware that trains go by very close all night but this was not a problem for us. The adjacent restaurant, Trinity, gave us a great table outside in the lounge and we very much enjoyed a jazz trio that played the night we were there. We would definitely stay here again if we have occasion to visit Sandpoint.

"Sandpoint"
Trek644311, 27 Août 2019

We were a last minute booking & the staff was extremely helpful with maps & room placement since one of our members had a Walker & had extreme mobility issues. Highly recommend this hotel for the staff & view!

"Biking weekend"
Maureen K, 27 Août 2019

Stayed here on our way from Glacier to the San Juan's to cycle state 27. Hotel was clean, comfy and safe and in a good location. Staff was friendly. My only complaint was no free breakfast despite a room description that said it was included. Also, no elevator. They should ask when you check in before all the paperwork and keys were done.

"Great location, terrific staff and wonderful dining"
phanway, 18 Août 2019

Resort is on the lake in City Beach of Sandpoint. Beach is out your window. Shopping is short stroll and the dining is the best in town. Sandpoint is casual, water oriented in the summer and great place to relax and be hassle free. BW did all they could to meet our needs and accommodate our extended stay.

"Best western Sandpoint"
McKelly72, 16 Août 2019

Excellent location with clean and tidy rooms. Great pool facility however fitness room could do with an update. Breakfast not included in stay package which is probably main sticking point. Would recommend staying here again.

"Great location but needs work!"
djhjohnson, 11 Août 2019

The location of the hotel is wonderful but it really needs some work. The first thing we noticed was the smell from the restaurant when we walked in to the hotel. It smelt fishy or musty. My daughter and I wouldn't eat there. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, check in was easy, as well check out. Our room backed out right onto the grass across from the beach. Which would have been wonderful except for the goose poop everywhere, on the grass and beach. We didn't realize that they have had a goose problem for years. They have taken measures to eliminate the issue so I think the problem will hopefully improve. The room was clean but very dated. It could use some updating.

"Nice"
Bgentles, 06 Août 2019

I stopped here due to a hail storm I was trying to get out of. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice place in Edgewater. Very clean and comfortable. The walls are quite thin as I could hear the tv and music from other rooms. Other than that, I found it a pleasant place to sleep for the night. They did provide a good breakfast as well!

"Very Nice"
D T, 01 Août 2019

We had a very comfortable room with a great view of the lake. All the rooms have a lake view. Our room was on the north end with the indoor pool between us and the outdoor restaurant/bar. This was a good location as the pool extends out toward the lake and blocks the noise. We didn't interact a long with the hotel staff, but they were friendly and efficient. The hotel is right next to the train tracks. Because all the rooms face away from the tracks the noise is not a big issue. It didn't bother us, but the passing trains do rattle the building.

"Great Location But......"
whynot4382, 23 Juillet 2019

Have stayed here years ago and not much has been done to the facility that I could see especially in the room. Older style room layout with worn out curtains and doors. Better lighting would have been welcomed as the room seemed a bit cave like. The wi-fi or internet was spotty as half of our stay was with no internet. Calling the front desk was a waste of time. The bed certainly could have been a little more comfortable too. Hotel was very stingy on shampoo and conditioner. The lounge closed quite early so we had to walk to Main St for cocktails. If we were aware of the early closing we may have chosen another hotel. Hope they remodel soon as it is sorely need.

"Great hotel at a winning property!"
MPutzi, 23 Juillet 2019

We loved our stay here! The front desk lady who is always there in the mornings is amazing and friendly. The service was great from anyone we came into contact with. Rooms were cleaned quickly and were done so at a high standard. Rooms were pretty quiet even though we were across from the ice machine. Hotel was clean. We loved the lotion and shampoo and conditioner. Smelled amazing and beach. The view is impeccable; I mean waking up and looking at the lake 20 feet away is never a bad thing lol. I know it's separate but Trinity, the attached restaurant, was amazing! My only issue was our beds. They were way too soft and I'm almost certain the springs were completely dead. Our one bed was so soft that when you laid down on it, it went completely diagonal and you'd start to fall off. My brothers family stayed on the lower level and their beds were lovely and firm so I'm not sure if we were just unlucky.

"Sad stay"
Escape01947159775, 08 Juillet 2019

We regret bringing our pups-- even the restaurant attached to the hotel is not pet friendly. We were told the dogs could not stay in the room (we brought their kennels) so we could go to the restaurant.

"Great Stay"
743dlz, 06 Juillet 2019

What a super resort. It has everything! Nice rooms, good views and beach access. Conveniently located easy walk to town, restaurants and shops. Restaurant on premises had great food and service was very good

"An old Best Western , not long for teh chain in my opinion!"
Rust-E-Junque, 04 Juillet 2019

Lets see , where do I start , since I could say anything last night because , while I could connect to the hotel server , it would not connect with the internet! Came up as connected , no internet bot at night and in the morning - Water heater for the whirlpool needed help , I bet the water was all of 85 degrees , running straight hot into it - Several pieces of wallpaper was peeling at seams , shower leaked and sprayed in toilet and all over the bathroom - and the towel shelf for the towels in the bathroom dumped them all into the toilet in the middle of the night - No one on duty when we left at around 5:30 AM , had a sign out , Helping Another Guest (Yeah Right)!!! Taking a nap was more like it

"A Very Special Piece of Property"
trevan, 30 Juin 2019

When I booked time at this resort, my hope was that the views and location would make it the ideal place to be able to park the car, take in amazing scenery and walk to what we wanted to experience in the more touristy downtown. This property fit both perfectly. The views from our room (238) was lovely and it is so easy to walk around the lake in both directions, plus take a short walk to all the little town's shops, restaurants, etc. Yes, it is a bit dated, but the bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure. Only complaint is that we left one day at about 10:00 AM and didn't come back until about 4:00 and our room was never cleaned. We called for towels and coffee refills and it was provided promptly.

"Room with a view"
Terri W, 26 Juin 2019

Beds are very comfortable. If you want a great view of the lake you must stay in rooms 218 and above. We head the view of a big tree send was not impressed for the amount of money it cost to stay there

"Very dated hotel in need of attention"
565gordonb, 17 Juin 2019

Service at front desk was sub standard. Rooms are very outdated. Sliding door locks to balcony don't lock so they have a drop down bar retrofit for locking. Unbelievable that they do not replace the broken locks. The sliding doors were also filthy dirty and in need of cleaning. Bed is old and super soft and sinking. Views of the lake and the location are the only things keeping unwitting people coming here expecting a resort style hotel on the lake. Poor value for the price charged. This place needs a ton of work and we will never return here nor recommend to anyone else.

"Great location. Beautiful View."
CanadaVacationer1, 17 Juin 2019

Older hotel with amazing views from all rooms. Hotel is pet friendly and has a very good attached restaurant. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Lobby had fresh coffee or water for tea , which was handy, Can't beat the location, we will return .

"Amazing waterfront view and awesome room"
Sightseer45800581732, 16 Juin 2019

It was awesome, amazing waterfront view and wicked food atthe restaurant! Service was also great, stopped in with no reservation and the front desk girl was extremely accommodating! Overall great experience.

"Good view, dated"
993chucks, 16 Juin 2019

Lovely location right on Lake Pend Oreille. Easy walk to downtown Sandpoint, which has some nice restaurants and shops. Hotel adjacent to City Park, beach. Most rooms face the lake. The hotel is a bit dark and dank. Rooms are fine, clean, though dated. Hotel has a restaurant and bar, but not much special.

"Great hotel"
Odyssey600290, 09 Juin 2019

We always prefer to stay in Best Western hotels. This time it's also was great! Excellent location, clean and equipped with all the necessary attributes room, wonderful view from the window. Big plus was the presence of a restaurant in the hotel. Tasty food and friendly staff. Despite the fact that we were leaving very early, at the reception there was fresh hot coffee. Best recommendations!

"Not what I was hoping for..."
Bob S, 07 Juin 2019

What a charming little town, we both loved this place (the town). Oh…the hotel…that's right. Well we found out from the locals, that the hotel is due for demolition next year, so consequently, no upgrades or improvements have been done in a long time. The furniture was too big from the room making it difficult to walk around. The TV was about a 26” and was hard to watch from the bed. You almost hat to sit directly in front of it. The queen bed was a taco bed providing a horrible night's sleep. So, what did I like??? The staff. Stacey and Emily were so friendly and so helpful, it made us want to visit again. (maybe at the new hotel when it is finally built. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel to other visitors. Sorry!!!

We just spent 3 nights st this resort. Rooms were great, had a lovely view of the lake. Staff was great & very attentive for anything we needed. Had many wonderful meals at the restaurant. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks there. All were fabulous. Loved the location of the resort. Easy to walk to everything. Highly recommend this resort.

"Winning choice in Sandpoint "
177cindyh, 05 Juin 2019

Sadly, we were only staying one night in Sandpoint as it would have been great to spend a few nights here. We enjoyed a king room with a lake view balcony which was really lovely. The room was very clean with a comfy bed and beautiful linens, towels, etc. Hotel front desk staff were very friendly and professional. The attached restaurant has a wonderful lake view patio and the food was delicious. Location is an easy walk to Main Street in Sandpoint with shops, galleries and restaurants. Also adjacent to the public beach for more walks and swimming if you choose. In our two week road trip, this property stood out as a favourite. Well done Best Western Edgewater!

"What a View!"
Jagsuter, 05 Juin 2019

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the room and saw the incredible view we had. It was a very pleasant and peaceful place to stay. The food was so good we had all of our meals right there. great service and wonderful staff!

"1st visit to Sandpoint"
Tour19019935201, 05 Juin 2019

Great location, great staff! Connected restraunt not affiliated with hotel, good eats and outside seating with nice view. Decor in rooms very dated. This could be more of a gem if BW invested in freshening it up!

"Dolan Wedding"
Johanna C, 26 Mai 2019

The hotel was great being right on the lake. Nice sandy beach. Ate breakfast at Trinitys and food was good. Nice balcony's for the view of the lake. Bathroom was very small, toilet and shower in the one room. Sink outside the bathroom which was big enough. Just a very tight squeeze in the bathroom and I'm not a very big person. 5'7, 140#. Staff was nice, grounds were nice, beds were comfortable.

"Beautiful View of Lake at affordable price"
U1553SMjohns, 21 Mai 2019

Comfortable room, comparable price, and great view of the lake. What more do you need. Really liked staying here while at Sandpoint. Dozens of restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. Helpful staff. Really glad we stayed here.

"Great Place & The View!"
Stay59786366767, 14 Mai 2019

My sister & I were in Sandpoint to visit family. We arrived via 3 am Amtrak and the staff was happy to see us!! The stay was amazing with fantastic views and soo close to town. Took us a few minutes to walk into town & rent bikes to ride all over and about the lake. Definitely will be back!! They kept our luggage all day after check out since our train didn't leave until 11:50 pm. (3 minute walk to station)

"Lake View"
KPinAB, 10 Mai 2019

Enjoyed our stay especially the view while sipping our morning coffee. I still can't believe this hotel doesn't have elevators and forces guests to pack their bags up or down stairs. Breakfast is not included like it is at most Best Western hotels. Close to downtown.

"A Little Disappointed !"
Extraordinary113824, 08 Mai 2019

While the location right on the lake with a stunning view of the Montana mountains is a reason one might consider staying here the negatives are many. The mattresses for example are the worst serve every had the misfortune of sleeping on. Pillows also are terrible. Balcony view is beautiful however the sliding balcony door is minus a screen and the mosquitos are many and hungry ! The adjacent Restaraunt , The Trinity , has a fantastic view, the service excellent as well as the food. Prices are very fair .

"Location, location, location"
pioneermastiffs, 07 Mai 2019

This hotel is located right on city beach. You get all the benefits of the beach and trails as well as clean and comfortable lodging. The only negative was noise from the room above. Great place to stay in the heart of town on the beach.

"Off Season Bargain"
MTStarSapphire, 29 Avril 2019

This hotel offered an excellent Groupon discount rate through April. I stayed there on my way to Spokane to visit a friend. Really liked the proximity to "downtown" Sandpoint, and the lake side location. Traveling in the shoulder season is the best way to have a quiet, relaxing stay. I will be back!

"Business Trip"

Experience was good overall, resturant had wonderful food and room was nice. I would stay again. Had King room with balcony. Staff went out of their way to work a way to stay in the same room when I added more nights since the job took longer than expected

"Sandpoint getaway!"
StephSpokane, 16 Avril 2019

One night getaway for my husband, and I! This hotel was amazing! In room jacuzzi tub was wonderful! The rooms were spotless, we've rarely stayed in such a clean room. Beautiful location, and pool area. Friendly staff. Will definitely stay again .

"Love this hotel in Sandpoint! "
yeryliz, 05 Avril 2019

We stayed at the Best Western in Sandpoint for spring break and it was overall amazing. The location is on point! Beautiful views of Lake Pend Oreille and the mountains. The City Beach Park is right around the corner and it's also just a short walk to cute downtown Sandpoint. The room was very nice, so pretty decorated, clean, the beds were comfy and the view from the balcony...simply breathtaking! And to top it off: room service, so we got to eat breakfast in bed looking outside. Not to mention food from Trinity Restaurant was delicious! Plenty of parking, location was safe and we really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the pool (also with a view).

"Excellent view, felt safe, no breakfast"
Queenjjd, 02 Avril 2019

We stayed here during spring break. The location is beautiful. We were on the ground floor overlooking the water. It was a great view. The room felt safe for the ground floor. The sliding exterior door was well bolted for safety. The only disappointment is that we got there at 3pm for check-in and our room was not ready. We went to the connected restaurant to wait. They said they would call us when our room was ready. We never received a call and they were not even sure if our room was ready after our leisurely and late lunch. The rooms were average for a Best Western. The TV was tiny for the room size. The pool and hot tub were nice. I wish it had been open a little later as kids were in the hot tub late, making it difficult for adults to use. The morning receptionist was excellent! She was helpful in suggesting a place for breakfast since we wanted to try many different places on our trip and only wanted to eat local.

"Beautiful location"
Seaside49963892833, 01 Avril 2019

Breath taking views and beautiful decor. The pool was very nice and our kids enjoyed it a lot, we spent hours there. And the hot tub was relaxing. However the beds are so uncomfortable it was hard to get any sleep.

"Nice hotel with a beautiful view!!"
canadiansmilechild, 22 Mars 2019

Stayed at this little gem. Loved my room with a gorgeous view. Had breakfast delivered to the room so that I could enjoy the view longer! Wish I could have stayed longer. I only had one meal at the hotel but sadly did not enjoy it. I should have called and let them know but knew they were busy. The hash browns tasted sour? How do potatoes taste sour??? The sheets aren't soft which I found odd at a nice hotel but hopefully they don't skimp on that with their next order of sheets as that is so important. I'm writing this from my next hotel on my journey and the sheets are super soft!!! All in all I recommend this hotel for the view alone!!!

"Wonderful Stay!"
mttravel11, 18 Mars 2019

Great location on the lake, walking distance to downtown. Friendly staff, nice rooms, great views of the lake and great bar and restaurant on site. We cross country skied around the lake and city beach right from our room!

"Edgewater"
rangegirl, 29 Janvier 2019

Very nice, clean, comfortable room. The room was spacious with a gas fireplace. There was a view of the lake. The staff was excellent! The bed was a comfortable king sized bed.. The bathroom was nice but the water for the shower could have been a bit hotter.

"Breakfast not included"
Meander22804862723, 06 Janvier 2019

Was under the impression this hotel had continental breakfast only to find out that they did have a breakfast in the lounge if you want to pay for it. For the price of the room and no breakfast included it would be worth going somewhere else.

"Everything perfect"
concertina61, 09 Décembre 2018

We stayed at this hotel 12/6/18. Our room was close to where we parked our vehicle and a very short walk to our room with a view of the lake. The room was very nice, excellent! The hotel is close to downtown and within walking distance. The hotel has a restaurant and I have eaten there many times, although not on this trip. The restaurant is good! I highly recommend the Best Western in Sandpoint, Idaho

"Traveling through"
timetogoMontana, 06 Décembre 2018

We usually stay at a competitor when we are in Sandpoint, but this time the rate was good so we tried it. Better for walking around town than are regular lodging. Miss not having continental breakfast since my wife doesn't eat breakfast and I usually go for a yogurt and bowl of cereal.

"Wonderful place to stay"
689kennethc, 06 Novembre 2018

I stayed 3 nights in a king suite . The room had a private balcony overlooking the lake. The room was very quiet and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and room service was fast. I suggest the pancakes. I had a great stay.

"Lakeside at Lake Pend Oreille"
thewixter, 30 Octobre 2018

This is a bit of an older Best Western, but it is right on the shores of Lake Pond Oreille and has definitely been upgraded. The only problem that we noticed was that there is a step up into the rooms from the walkway and folks, especially the aging, need to be alert to avoid tripping on the step up into the room. Rooms are open, bright and comfortable. The hotel is adjacent to the city park and within easy walking of downtown shops and restaurants. Loved the lanai with the views of the lake and migrating water fowl. There is no "free breakfast" included with the room, but the onsite restaurant has an excellent menu and reasonable prices for both breakfast and dinner. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Sandpoint and Lake Pond Oreille.

"Walk to everything in town"
JandLBeyondHope, 28 Octobre 2018

We stayed in the honeymoon suite for our anniversary and it was beautiful. Employees were very friendly to us. Walked to the Panida for a show and all over downtown Sandpoint. Ate at the Trinity restaurant next door for breakfast and it was great. We had such a good time we're planning to do this again our next anniversary.

"BW Sandpoint"
jgoff4570, 24 Octobre 2018

Great hotel in a beautiful location at City Park Beach right on the lake. The room was nicer than expected and had a beautiful view of the lake. Lots of free parking. The hotel restaurant, Trinity, was excellent! I loved the orange pancakes with fresh fruit and Chantilly cream -- YUM!

"OK, nothing more."
clarksdale, 22 Octobre 2018

Limited choice if you want a hotel in Sandpoint itself. On the lake, close to everything. The room was dated, but had a view of the lake. The railway line is busy, and is yds from the hotel. Noise isn't an issue, but the vibrations from the train woke me a few times.....goodness knows what this does to the structure of the hotel. Our room had a previous occupants half empty coke bottle in the fridge, and a child's small toy by the bed.... The professionalism and decency of the women on reception was exemplary. Between checking in, and arriving at my room, I lost my credit card. The staff could not have been more helpful or concerned. They weren't doing it to be good employees (although they obviously are), but because they are kind, decent, caring people. I was touched by their efforts. The hotel is lucky to have them

"Nice motel on the lake and next to downtown"
DonIdaho, 21 Octobre 2018

Our room was clean and spacious, including a kitchenette and a frig with a freezer. We liked having two sinks, one outside the toilet area. There were plenty of outlets for charging devices - thanks. While we had heard that late night train noise might be a problem, it was not a problem for us. The noise was minimal, and our room fan masked it anyway. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again next time we are in Sandpoint.

"Looks better online than in person, know before you book..."
ProMetalSales, 20 Octobre 2018

We were wanting a place to stay that was right on the lake and from my limited online research this place qualified. Well, the hotel is right on the water and our room faced the water with a great view. However, the place was dated and wouldn't you know it, a heavily used railroad track runs all along the back of the property. To be fair the in room noise was no terrible but we knew when each train went by! The place is dated and hardly what I would call a "Resort" and not inexpensive at that. The restaurant had good but not excellent food and the service was good not great. I am not familiar with other places to stay in Sandpoint but I have to believe there are better locations and equal or better value for the dollar. While our one night here was OK, we would not stay again.

"Wonderful stay"

My husband and I stayed 3 nights and if our Canadian dollar would have been valued higher we would have stayed much longer. What a great resort. all the rooms have the view of the lake, the beds are comfortable, nice balcony so we could sit outside and enjoy the scenery. The restaurant serves delicious food, the service is great and you can walk to downtown Sandpoint, it's only a few minutes away. I will stay here again.

"Not what I expected"
Skislikeagirl, 06 Octobre 2018

Friends of our stayed here 38 years ago on their honeymoon. I don't think much has changed since then. Maybe some furniture, maybe new carpet? The linens were shabby and stained, the bathroom (but for the mirror and sink) was old. To stand in the shower with the curtain closed, you'd have thought you were in a 1970s time warp. Open the curtain and it's 1999. I can get past old fixtures and furniture as long as the place is clean, which it was, sort of. But I need a quiet room. Our room was next to the pool, so although the pool itself wasn't noisy, kids and families running down the hallway to get there were. And the people in the room above us were heavy-footed. How do I know they got up two times in the night to go to the bathroom and then woke up at 7:00 am? Because I could hear every step. They were also “phone pacers” (those people who pace around the room when they are talking on the phone), but thank goodness they at least went to bed early. It wasn't the experience I was hoping for. Had the room been comfortable, the restaurant inviting or the pub friendly, then we most likely would have stuck around the Edgewater to become better acquainted with the surroundings. But as they weren't, we didn't. If being close to the lake/beach is important to you, then this is a great location. I prefer being closer to the restaurants and pubs in town. I know where I'm staying the next time I'm in Sandpoint...unfortunately, not here.

"Resort ? What's in a name."
Karel V, 03 Octobre 2018

This hotel featuring mediocre architecture is jammed between the lake with it's nice views and the railway and freeway just behind the parking. Mile long trains pass here day and night. Some provoked car alarms to go off in the middle of the night ! Although he rooms are well insulated towards the railway, they must have saved to insulate the walls between the rooms because I could hear and understand the conversations of my neighbours !!! Rooms are ok but look rather dull and old fashioned. Value was ok.

"Terrible."
Brea F, 30 Septembre 2018

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. As soon as we got there we encountered rude staff. We got to our room and it was not clean. Our bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and we only had small couch pillows on the bed. We had to listen to the neighboring room fight for most of the night and the guests below us had a dog that barked all night as well. The bathtub was also extremely dirty. We will not be recommending this place to anyone.

"Absolutely Beautiful Lake Views and very accomodating for our dogs!"
Teresa E, 26 Septembre 2018

This resort is hands down the best hotel to stay at in Sandpoint, ID! Gorgeous views of the harbor/lake and mountains from our large balcony in our room! Very well maintained premises, many wonderful walkway paths to enjoy this peaceful location! This hotel was very accomodating for our two small dogs who love to travel with us! The room is a nice size, although the bathroom was very tiny. Extremely clean, smelled fresh with lots of comfy pillows (4) on each bed. The mattresses were not very comfortable. Room decor could definitely be updated. The flat screen TV was a little blurry (not sure why) but we didn't watch much TV so it wasn't that important to us. The food in the restaurant was excellent and service was great! Also, very nice atmosphere with that great view of the lake! There is a huge sandy beach and play area for kids so I am excited to come back in the summer with our Grandkids! All in all I gave this hotel a 5 star rating because of its beautiful location/ room view, convenience, pet friendly accommodating, excellent restaurant and free parking! It isn't The Coeur D' Alene but your not paying anywhere near that price to stay here and the "view" in my opinion is just as good if not better! Thank you Edgewater we had a great time and can't wait to return!!!

"We always find this a pleasant place to stay"
wdlander, 10 Septembre 2018

We have stayed here at the Edgewater many times over the last 10 years and find the place located perfectly to enjoy Sand Point, and it's very comfortable.the place is a bit dated and considering the price of a room ,we would like to see breakfast included in that price. Most of the local hotels are cheaper, and include breakfast in the package.this inclusion would make our stays even better

"beautiful and clean"
DorothyR258, 27 Août 2018

Great place to stay, local, shopping within walking distance, awesome scenery. Great food. Stayed several times never disappointed. Walk on the beach of Lake Pend Oreille, beautiful park within walking distance.

"Great location, poor service & OLD"
WorldofMark, 25 Août 2018

Unfortunately this place has gotten worse over the four years I've been visiting this town. The location is spectacular, but the service, amenities, and management does not seem to understand the needs of business travelers. I used to recommend this hotel, however after the last few stays I would no longer recommend staying here… sandpoint is a small town, so there are many other hotels and places to stay with a great central location and much better service, amenities, and a general sense of understanding when it comes to the needs of travelers used to staying and nicer chain hotels. It's truly a shame this place has fallen so far in a few quick years.

"Absolutely stunning views of lake and mountain"
Kyle J, 23 Août 2018

This is hands down the best place in Sandpoint to stay. The proximity to everything Sandpoint has to offer makes it a wonderful option when visiting this gorgeous small town. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains are amazing. The onsite restaurant is top notch. Spend the little bit extra and stay on the lake!

"Best location"
Dennis H, 13 Août 2018

This is a beautiful place to dine. It also has good service and food. We realize that it is an out of the way place, but that also means that comparable restaurants are very hard to find. We have spent many months in Sandpoint and this is definitely one of the very best.

"Worst Place ever"
aknthomas1987, 12 Août 2018

Room was dated with no chain on the door, the hairdryer ketp fallout out, and the jetted tub had someone else's hair in it. Customer service was inconsitent with some front staff welcoming and others who were there just to do the job.

"Nice Resort, Excellent location, and very good restaurant."
LMotto, 08 Août 2018

My wife and I stayed at this resort for one night and really enjoyed our stay. The resort is located right on the lake, and there is a nice sandy beach. The resort is clean with large rooms. Our room was on the second floor, and had a great view of the lake. The food at the resort restaurant was very good, and the service was excellent. The made to order breakfast was also excellent. We only wish that we stayed longer. We will come back and stay here again.

"Not worth the price"
Bernard S, 25 Juillet 2018

This is an older hotel that has been remodeled, nice sized room but very small bathroom. For the price you pay and not have a breakfast available it wasn't worth it. The attached restaurant seemed overpriced, better to eat in town. In the last year I have stayed at 24 Best Western's and for the price I would put this near the bottom of the list.

"Could have been better!"
TravelAgent026, 18 Juillet 2018

The location and view are awesome...check in staff were nice but that's where it ended. Booked waterview room which ended up being right next to the pool outdoor entry...patio was filthy...room not so clean either...curtains were gross and dirty... hot tub had cold water...basically overpriced for the room we got...won't be back.

"Good hotel in a stunning position "
Darrendazler, 17 Juillet 2018

The hotel from the car park has the look of a road side motel. However the hotel is much nicer than that. Staff on check in were professional, efficient and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The room also had a small terrace with views across the lake. The railway line is right at the back of the hotel but we never heard it in our room. Finally it must be said that Sandpoint is a stunning little town, right by the lake with great bars and restaurants, perfect for a stop over.

"Location, view"
Patsy B, 10 Juillet 2018

I have stayed several times at this hotel and it never disappoints! The view can't be topped. It is very peaceful to sit on the balcony and watch the lake. It is next to the park/beach and is a very easy walk to shops and restaurants. The bed was a little hard for me but the linens were fantastic.

"Edgewater RV park"
Beentheredonethat193, 09 Juillet 2018

A rather small park with roughly 20 full hookup RV spots. A positive feature is its location. Right next to the Pend O' Reilly Lake, which is huge and will handle any boat, large or small. Another feature is the park location. It is within easy walking distance of the downtown business district. A very interesting area with many shops and dining opportunities.

"Great Management, Great Stay"
Jacksbox, 05 Juin 2018

We pulled into Sandpoint after a very long drive and our weariness was lifted upon walking into the hotel lobby. Heavenly smells from the on-site restaurant coupled with a friendly & competent desk staff, made us want to stay more than one night so we opted for two nights. Our room was on the first floor, yards from the city beach & marina & comfortable,... (for those who want "new" & "modern", this is not it but the staff & location far outweigh the 90's (?) feel.) We encountered a few issues which were immediately & completely rectified by friendly management. I had made a recent decision that rather than write adverse reviews, that I would address any issues with the management first -this was the first time I put this into principle into action and it is amazing what can happen with good communication. We ate dinner at Trinity, the on-site restaurant and enjoyed every bite of a wonderful dinner. There is no breakfast included in the price of room and though this is the first BW we have stayed at that did not offer breakfast with the room, it ended up working out marvelously because there is amazing restaurants both on-site and within walking distance (2 blocks maximum to get to everything downtown). Check-out was seamless-thank you Mary. While in the area, we saw other chain hotels that seemed newer but they had an "in the city" feel which we don't want when in a small town. We have decided this is the place to be in Sandpoint and we will be back again and again. Thank you dog & people friendly BWER!

"Location, location, location."
Wjules, 31 Mai 2018

Pros: Located right near the City Beach, the view of the lake out my window and I LOVE that I can walk into town easily to grab coffee or dinner. The staff was really nice and I enjoyed the restaurant connected to the hotel. And I also thought they have the softest towels I've had in any hotel room in a very long time, really nice. Cons: Very outdated decor but it seems to be the trend looking at other hotels in this area and VRBO's online. For the price point I think updating would make the value better and possibly inspire other nearby places to spruce up. I felt the room was clean despite the old decor and I appreciated the fridge and little deck with the view and to let fresh air in. If I'm in Sandpoint again I would still consider staying here again but would hope its freshened up.

"A Special Occation.."
calgarymuffler, 27 Mai 2018

We stayed at the Best Western Edgewater Resort for our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel is clean and the little engagement I had with the staff it was good. The restaurant food was great and the staff we helpful and friendly. Our room on the main floor was average I felt it was very over priced for what we got.

"Visiting Family 2018"
slyfoxfishing, 25 Mai 2018

Great location and very comfortable. Would definitely come back and recommend. Great views, easy walk to restaurants and shops. Easy to navigate to. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food staff friendly.

"GREAT LOCATION average rooms"
302laurip, 23 Mai 2018

For the over 200 a night we paid, we expected a bit more. The location is perfect... right on the water and by the beach and park and short walk to town. When we arrived, the hallways were dated and smelled musty... in our room we were greeted by an old cigarette package, spider webs when we opened the curtains and a dirty porch. The internet was hit and miss but that didn't matter much since we were there to enjoy the surroundings. Walls were very thin so in order to not hear our neighbors or those in the halls we just kept the fan on. I would definitely stay there again because of the proximity to everything cool about Sandpoint... the beach, the water, the view, the restaurants, the shops... but was disappointed in the lack of cleanliness, and dated appearance of the halls and room.

"a great get-away Hotel"
cascadetreeco, 07 Mai 2018

Close to walking trails , great food and shopping and all of the rooms have wonderful views of the lake and mountains, attached is a very nice restaurant with a deck overlooking the lake. We stay here often, it is a great get-away for us . Pet friendly as well.

"Stay at Edgewater Resort"
royfosterak1968, 04 Mai 2018

Had an excellent stay at the Edgewater Best Western! Service and rooms were great! Liked the restaurant and it had excellent meals and service. I would recommend this resort to anyone traveling in or through Idaho.

"Great location and restaurant"
arbourstone, 29 Avril 2018

The hotel itself is looking a little long in the tooth and I am informed is being rebuilt in 2020. The service was good and the location pretty much on City Beach was excellent. Everything in town was within walking distance. We ate at the hotel's restaurant on the patio overlooking the beach. The food was great.

"Great vacation destination"
Nicole S, 13 Avril 2018

This is a terrific location from which to enjoy Sandpoint, with easy access to everything. The Trinity restaurant is wonderful too. The staff are very professional and courteous, and the views of the lake are beautiful. Don't miss, the walking trail around the lake...so peaceful.

"Going to stay longer next time"
Lori H, 08 Avril 2018

We only stayed one night while traveling home from Seattle. Next time I would love to visit In a warmer season and stay a little longer. This is a well taken care of older hotel that you can walk right out the door to City Beach. Short walk to the Main Street in Sand Point with restaurants, and boutique shops. We stayed in a King suite room, complete with a kitchenette (microwave, under counter fridge, kuerig coffee maker, sink and dishes etc. for four. There is also a sofa bed suitable for a couple of kids.

"Quick l"
GH2210, 08 Avril 2018

A quick visit to sandpoint and found accommodation exceptionally good very clean rooms Pleasant staff the only disappointment was the meal that I had I think that night was very ordinary. because of that it's only gets 4 stars

"Third visit to Sandpoint."
mosiervaudt, 07 Avril 2018

Edgewater Resort is a nice(but not fancy) Best Western in Sandpoint, Idaho. It isn't the newest motel in town but it has great amenities with the attached restaurant and it's within walking distance to the downtown area with many shops and great restaurants. In addition, the people at the Resort are very pleasant. I will totally stay here again and next time, I am going to advance reservations for the tour of Lake Ponderay.

"Item missing in my room. "
Anick B, 26 Mars 2018

Been always really satisfied until today, when the housekeeper stoole my shoes in the room. And apparently, it a normal things, because the reception and the manager don't care. Congratulations, you loose a good customer! and all my respect! Bad hotel with bad people.

"Great location, but not a great bed."
Buddy D, 05 Mars 2018

The Edgewater has an unbeatable location. The decor is a bit dated, but well kept. If only it had a comfortable bed and pillows! Our poor sleeping gave us an overall less-than-great feeling about the place.

"Very comfy"
dennymas, 01 Mars 2018

Our room was not ready when we arrived so we were upgraded to the room with the jetted tub. Although it looked great, only one bed and a fold out couch wouldn't do. So they moved us to another room, and the girl at the counter helped us haul luggage :) I always wear earplugs so the train or any traffic didn't bother me at all. the pool/hot tub area was very clean. Although we did encounter one naked older man in the hot tub, at least there weren't any little kids in there. Nice view even in the winter and it was a nice getaway.

"has some huge positives and some negatives"
Soggyinsnoqualmie, 26 Février 2018

I have only been to sandpoint a few times(to ski) and have stayed at a different place each time. Each time i return i am amazed by what new things are being built in such a small town, but it is being discovered for its winter and summer tourism activities. That said, there are a lot of nice hotels in town(and even nicer ones up on the mountain). The edgewater has a huge advantage over most in its beautiful grounds directly on the lake and the proximity to downtown sandpoint. There is a view from almost every part of this hotel, including the pool/hot tub. It is a well maintained place and most would not have a complaint for the facilities. It is a little tricky getting to the hotel and there is not a ton of parking but we had a spot so no real issue. The biggest problem is the fact that the freight train comes very close to the hotel and it seems to run semi regularly, even in winter. If you are a light sleeper this may be a deal breaker. Price seems reasonable, but compared to other newer hotels in the area not a bargain(unless waterfront is very important to you).

"Enjoyable stay"
WhitefishGirl, 22 Février 2018

We were slightly confused as to where to go to check in because the main entrance looks like it's just for the restaurant. My family stayed in the two room king suite with the jetted tub and really enjoyed having the extra space. The hotel does not offer complimentary breakfast, but we ordered room service from the restaurant and were very impressed! We ended up ordering most of our meals from the hotel restaurant because the prices/portions/quality were good. The balcony overlooking the river was nice, we are hoping to come back in the summer and stay here again!

"Beautiful"
ronniew132, 12 Février 2018

The rooms are beautiful and clean, beds are extremely comfortable. Our room had a million dollar view. I Ioved that the hotel is dog friendly. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Will be back durring the summer.

"Terrific Sandpoint Location"
Janie G, 21 Janvier 2018

A great location for walking to the fascinating shops and restaurants lining the main street. Spacious room, comfortable bed, quiet hallway, lovely view of the lake and even welcomed our dog. Staff were very friendly and helpful with a full-service restaurant right off the lobby.

"Good overnight stay."
Chris W, 21 Janvier 2018

Stayed for an overnight here. No lift so stairs only to upper floors. Hotel right next to railtrack so vibration an noise. Rooms very clean and spacious. Breakfast only open at 7:30 which was a little inconvient for early starters. Would stay again.

"Great stay in Sandpoint,ID."
John S, 12 Janvier 2018

I've had the pleasure of visiting this Best Western several times each time during the winter, even thought it not peak summer the season the staff and the hotel are at the top of there game to make sure visitors have a great time while visiting. Can't wait till I can visit this location during the summer

"Very efficient friendly staff"
celesteg826, 07 Janvier 2018

Everyone was delightful .. very happy with my stay in sandpoint .. this hotel is great because it's right downtown close to all the restaurants and shops.. Restaurant at the hotel was awesome . Will be staying here again if we come back to sandpoint .

"Quick stop"
U1166CBryanm, 03 Janvier 2018

We stayed one night. The room was clean. The kids enjoyed the pool. I was disappointed it did not serve complimentary breakfast but there is a restaurant attached to the hotel. We were right on the lake.

"Sandpoint Bestwestern"
Nina G, 29 Décembre 2017

Excellent location for the Best Western; however, the rooms need updating and they need an elevator. Stairs were an inconvenience and necessary for most rooms. The staff was attentive and the cleanliness in the bathroom was excellent.

"Good Stay For Ski Getaway"
Jeff N, 28 Décembre 2017

Rooms little dated but in good working condition and clean. Pool and hot tub nice after day skiing. Close to downtown. Suspect there are good views but we got in after dark and left before sunlight. Could definitely stay there again if price was competitive

"Nice place "
AnAnthropologist, 25 Décembre 2017

My husband and I stayed here for one night unexpectedly when our plans changed. The staff was very nice and it is a good location on the water and also within walking distance to town with lots of restaurants although we ate at the hotel during our brief stay because we were exhausted and it was very cold outside. We had a nice room with a terrace over the lake although it was so cold we didn't really have an opportunity to enjoy it. Only negative was that the coverlet in the bed was dirty. However, given the overall caliber of the properly I suspect that was an aberration and I would definitely stay again.

"Beautiful - location and facility"
K4522FXjohns, 18 Décembre 2017

On a friend's recommendation we chose to stay at the Edgewater Resort in Sandpoint. Good decision. It was everything promised and then some. Super friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable and relaxing.

"Perfect getaway spot"
323jennifer, 03 Décembre 2017

I stayed here for 2 nights in a king room. It was so lovely and peaceful looking out over the marina/lake/beach area (very interesting seeing how low the water level was!) All the rooms look out in the same direction, with patios or balconies depending which floor you were on. There are no elevators that I could see. The room was very comfortable, with lovely toiletries (no tiny sliver of soap here!) the carpet looked fairly new. I appreciatd the small seat outside the bathroom. I loved the "fresh remote", I know how unsanitary remotes can be. As well as the view, it was a very easy stroll into town. Will come again! There are frequent trains going by the back of the hotel, apparently 40 in a 24 hr period, but they weren't noisy.

"Thanksgiving 2017"
V2856RGrobertad, 27 Novembre 2017

Location, mountain views, lake, food was excellent! Our room was very nice, did need some attention to detail dusting. As there was a door, I assume that could be used to expand the two together, we could hear all their conversations when they were anywhere close to it! Door really needs to be considerably thicker to muffle sound!

"We love this place. Great location and a great restaurant on site."
Mike T, 21 Novembre 2017

From the ground floor towards the lake, you can walk out your glass entry right to the lake. Best pet friendly motel that we have ever found. The restaurant; Trinity is top notch. The lake is so beautiful!

"Great location"
David S, 20 Novembre 2017

Another pleasant surprise, as it was already dark and raining when we stopped for the night in Sandpoint. The room' was very comfortable as was the bed for for us. Although near the railway tracks it wasn't that noticeable. The restaurant was good and we really enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast there. The staff in all areas where pleasant and friendly. The view from the restaurant was great to bad it was fall and everything was closed for the season. overall it was very pleasant.

"Excellent Experience"
Mike W, 20 Novembre 2017

We had a business party at this location that included using many guest rooms and the Rest., Trinity at the Beach. Service was excellent. The staff were super accommodating at both and the food was wonderful.

"Beautiful lake, good for pets"
Krista V, 09 Novembre 2017

We had a room that went directly out to a nice lawn area and then the lake. It was great for traveling with our small dog. We stayed two nights and we were very disappointed that the hot tub was not working properly (Luke warm at best). After being out in the cool fall weather, we had really looked forward to using it. The pool was also closed the second day to be shocked, which was additionally disappointing to the kids. I generally prefer to stay in hotels that serve a breakfast, which this one does not.. We ate in the restaurant on site which was average. Because of the location, we would still consider staying here again.

"Yorgee's smile."
Rene F, 04 Novembre 2017

A great location, facility and quality people!!! It's located in a wonderful small town on a very large Lake with a great ambiance!!! Lot's of shopping and restaurants that are full of super nice people that were always pleasant to speak with. We were there at the end of October and were blessed with the changing colors of fall, super Beautiful!!!

"Nice stay on beautiful Lake Pend Oreille"
Kaitlyn R, 29 Octobre 2017

Wish I had longer to stay here, as the location is right on the lake of beautiful Sandpoint. Nice staff & the room was clean, though not super updated. The bed was okay, though not the most comfortable I've ever had. All amenities, including internet, work great.

"Always a plesure"
lesliej417, 17 Octobre 2017

Beautiful scenery, nice rooms, good location, clean, friendly staff, we booked the room, enjoyed downtown which was amazing, had some drinks and didn't have to drive. Great community, friendly people and lots to do, day or night

"pet friendly, great views and excellent restaurant"
602robynw, 16 Octobre 2017

what a great hotel- great views, comfortable room, pet friendly and a great restaurant. Can walk to town and around the marina. So nice to wake up to the water right outside. Close to the railroad tracks but did not even notice after being there a few hours. Clean and comfortable.

"Friendly and best lakeview"
happy3345, 14 Octobre 2017

We checked in and were thrilled immediately by the balcony view of the lake. The room was very nice and comfortable. Everyone working here felt like they were on a team and made our stay the best ever. We travel a lot and are very discerning and we were very impressed with the quality of the food and service. The view of the lake from the restaurant is so beautiful, but the people working here together really made our stay so nice.

"Very nice hotel and great rooms"
chrismorgand, 11 Octobre 2017

I loved everything about this hotel except the fact that they don't offer free breakfast. The rooms are wonderful, staff are great and the location can't be beat! I was here for business and when I have a 8:00 am appointment getting breakfast at the hotel is important to me. This is the first BW that I have found that doesn't offer it.

"great place to stay"
718linda, 09 Octobre 2017

This is a very nice place. Roads in town were torn up but good parking is available not far from hotel and it;s an easy walk to town. Sandpoint is a beautiful little town and the ambiance is alluring. I was here for business three times in the past and this time, I brought my husband because I wanted him to experience the city. He agreed that this was someplace we could easily live in. People are kind and the children can be kids.

"Great views, walk to everything."
joeandlorid, 08 Octobre 2017

We chose this location based on the walkability to downtown Sandpoint and views of the lake. This did not disappoint. We parked our car for the three day stay and didn't drive at all. We loved walking each morning around the lake, views were breathtaking. Walking to lunch, dinner and shopping each day, made the experience much more enjoyable. This hotel is in need of updating. Our bathroom was small and the sheets were a bit scratchy, room temps were unreliable. The hotel staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Overall, we wanted walkability and views this was a winner. If we were staying hold up in our room for three days, I would probably chose other accommodations that were move comfortable for staying in and relaxing.

"Great Getaway"
cpalawSpokane, 03 Octobre 2017

We try and stay here a couple of times a year during the off season. Sometimes we bring the dog. We enjoy the lake views, the lounge and especially the breakfast. The train noise can be an issue for some. Convenient and an easy walk to main street. Just a nice overall setting. The only hit and miss is the staff at the front desk. Check in didn't go as well as it should.

"Great location and friendly staff!"
justindR920OD, 02 Octobre 2017

We arrived late in the evening after a trip to Scarywood. Check-in staff was quick and efficient, and the room was clean. Woke up in the morning to beautiful lake views, and an easily accessible walking path around the lake right outside the property. I would definitely return to the Best Western Edgewater!

"Only Ok for the Price "
Mistyriver88, 30 Septembre 2017

The room had a nice view . There were no elevators which made it difficult to haul 4 suitcases up the stairs. The pillows were lumpy. Housekeeping changed the towels but didn't make the bed. The air conditioning was deactivated which made the room a bit too warm. No screen on the sliding glass door so couldn't open it to cool the room.

"always a great place to stay in Sandpoint"
wdlander, 26 Septembre 2017

We have stayed her numerous times over the lat 12 years, and always find the place, clean neat, and staffed by people who want to make sure you have a great stay. The Hotel sits right on the lake and the edge of Sand Creek. downtown, shopping, dinning, and generally adventuring are h just a short walk away.

Scott M, 22 Septembre 2017

Old hotel with great service. Perfect location and great views. Needs to be updated desperately but the staff makes up for it. If you are nostalgic this place screams cutting edge 1970. We were shoulder season and it was great

"Best Choice...Best Western!"
Sally R, 20 Septembre 2017

Can't say enough about this hotel and its staff! Location and amenities are great. We chose this for out of town guests for our daughters wedding. Staff went out of the way to make it a great stay from the time we blocked it to the time we left. Trinity, the restaurant had great food and ambiance- we highly recommend. All the guests compliments the entire stay!

"Great spot to enjoy the area"
Natalie D, 19 Septembre 2017

Beautiful spot to watch the world go by. Restful. Quiet. Very comfortable beds. Very walkable city and park. The restaurant attached was extremely delicious, reasonably priced and generous portions. The boat cruise is a do-not-miss event. It shows the beauty of Lake Pend Oreille while getting a history of the area.

"Beautiful Views"
Bronco12-0, 13 Septembre 2017

This is really a great place to stay. It's right on the water with great views, walking distance to the shops and restaurants and the city park in Sandpoint. The staff was friendly the hotel was clean. My only complaint is the constant trains! This is not BW fault and the AC in our room provided enough white noise that they didn't bother our sleep.

"Wedding party"
Amanda M, 12 Septembre 2017

Very nice place to stay, rooms are clean and all facilities were very nice including pool and dining. The staff was very accommodating and met all of our needs for a large wedding party and family and friends. We love staying at the Best Western Edgewater when we return to Sandpoint, Idaho. We grew up there and always feel so nostalgic when we drive across the long bridge into town. The Edgewater is located at the City Beach offering great comfort and an amazing view of the lake and surrounding mountains. Location is walking distance to restaurants and stores, with a 3-mile walking trail along the lake. It also has an attached restaurant, Trinity. Quiet, comfort, courtesy. Love our "home away from home!"

"Great location"
Justine F, 03 Septembre 2017

Our room had a great view of Pend Oreille Lake and a sliding glass door that opened up onto a cove near a marina with a great walking trail. Can't beat the location, but the internet was slow and no free breakfast was offered.

"Sandpoint BW"
lynno746, 31 Août 2017

Great location right on the beach and can walk to downtown area. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Property could use a little updating but beds are comfortable and it is a quiet location. We would stay there again.

"Great Place to Enjoy Northern Idaho"
kristinf417, 31 Août 2017

Great accommodations, great lake, great mountains, great community. Very hard to find a better place to enjoy life. Ideally located whether lounging at the beach, boating, hiking, road tripping around the area, headed up the mountain for a day of skiing, or just walking the shops in town.

"Great views!"
Margaret G, 28 Août 2017

Easy walk into town and excellent restaurant on site with good views. Shops, boat rentals, galleries and other restaurants within easy walking distance. All rooms seemed to face the water. Complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby.

"Love this place"
rogersR7151OF, 26 Août 2017

Older hotel, but well maintained and I can't say enough about the staff.. they are outstanding... made our stay. Great location on the lake with beautiful sunrise and lake views. Also have an outstanding restaurant on site called Trinity

"Beautiful and worth it."
I7179FVfrankb, 22 Août 2017

Hotel was amazing, good staff, very clean, and located on the nicest beach with very clean lake- we stayed during week days. NO free break fast, but hotel restaurant was amazing, and reasonable price. Also walking distance to many other restaurants, and coffee houses. Rooms were big enough to put out an additional air mattress for a last minute visiting friend

"vacationing in sand point idaho"
joepB7014EV, 22 Août 2017

Excellent resort. Only negative comment was room did not cool as much as my husband and I like. Excellent food at restaurant Trinity. Stayed on bottom floor. So nice to open sliding door and be on the beach. Sand Point was the best. Hope to vacation there again.

"Nice view ...watch out for the goose poo"
A5033FFtimk, 11 Août 2017

The view was nice though and great to wake up to... too bad the smoke was so thick and mountain views were hampered. Hotel has a great view of the water and marina. Rooms and bathrooms are a bit small for the price point they are charging. Also, there are lots of trains which we got used to and the hotel seems to have addressed the rumble with extra glass on one side. No breakfast at this hotel as the restaurant is privately run. The restaurant staff were not familiar with their menu selections and messed up big time by almost serving my daughter wheat pasta when we ordered gluten free. (she has Celiac) Turns out they don't carry gluten free pasta. Everyone's meals showed up at different times (first night stay at the hotel). The beach area out front has a serious goose problem... I need not say anymore. If you expect to be grossed out while going for a swim stand by. Staff are for the most part friendly and very helpful.

"Great place to stay if you want to play in the water!"
Shonda S, 10 Août 2017

We chose this hotel because it was located right on the water. We used our Best Western membership to get 20% off our room. It was a great room for what we needed! We had room #125, which was located on the ground floor and had a sliding glass door that opened up to a porch and onto grass that overlooked the beach and water! The room was spacious enough but the bathroom was extremely small. It had a microwave, coffepot, and small refrigerator in the room too. There was also complimentary boat slips (first come - first serve) with the room, which was awesome, because the parking lot for the hotel was so small and crowed. We were able to launch at the marina right next to the hotel, park the truck and trailer once in the parking lot, and place the boat in the slip each night! The marina has 4 gas pumps for filling your boat. The hotel has a restaurant, but we did not eat there. No breakfast is included in the stay, just fyi. I would recommend this hotel for couples or families. The beach which is literally right in back of the hotel has a swimming area and lifeguards on duty. There is also a bike path along the lake and hotel. Bring your boat, your kayaks, paddleboards, swim toys, bikes, rollerblades, and walking shoes when you come! We would love to come back to this area. Why did I not give 5 stars?? 1). The hotel had a strange smell throughout. 2). No breakfast. 3). Very small toilet area. 4). Pool overcrowded with kids. 5). Lots of goose manure on grounds. Other than that...it was a nice stay.

"Average room but great location"
jennlarra, 09 Août 2017

I would say you have to lower your hotel expectations when you are staying in a small town like Sandpoint. The location of this hotel is what sold us on staying here. It is right on the lake and close to town so you can walk to restaurants and coffee shops. I fell in love with this town several years ago when dropping my kids off at camp in Cheney WA. I had 10 hours before my flight went out in Spokane. Sandpoint was suggested to me as a beautiful drive and sweet town. It made such an impression on me that I brought my entire family back! I knew I wanted to stay here because they had rooms that could accommodate a family of 5 and it was right on the water. Was the room a little tired? Yes. You are paying for the location and to me it was worth it.

"Nothing like walking out on balcony to toenail clippings"
Deb B, 07 Août 2017

Great location for the hotel and surprisingly the train wasn't that noticeable. However, the cleanliness of the hotel was very disappointing. We actually had to come have manager sweep off balcony as previous guests had chose to clip their toenails and no one had bothered to sweep off the balcony. Plus there seemed to be a layer of dust on things that were not immediately visible, like the top of the hair dryer on the wall.

"clean and comfy"
toddsB2486BP, 07 Août 2017

Only there for 1 night, it was clean, comfy and effortless. Restaurant was convenient and satisfying. Only there for one night, but would recommend to anyone. The view alone was worth it. The staff was excellent, beds were comfy enough, maybe a little firm if staying for more than 1 night. I was in town for business, and will definitely book here again for future trips.

"Great Location but..."
marksN4965OC, 03 Août 2017

We have been at the Edgewater many times and while the location is to die for, in my experience the staff are indifferent and could care less if you were there. Even though we did not eat at the restaurant this trip it produces quality product if at a bit of a premium.

"Beautiful location but kind of run down"
DIZZY82, 02 Août 2017

We arrived at the BW edgewater on Tuesday august 1 2017. Check in was fine and our room located on the ground floor, perfect for us. Right away we noticed our room opened up essentially onto the beach, with just a few dozen feet of grass to walk over! Our daughter (3) loved the sandy beach and splashing in the water which was quite warm. There were tons of young families just having a great time on the beach and it was totally great to see! Our room was a good size, with 2 queen beds and a comfortable chair in the corner. The beds were not uncomfortable,if not a bit firm, but still very acceptable. The room had a small fridge, with a busted mini freezer door,a small but handy microwave, and a good AC unit which we were grateful for since it was 33 C the day we stayed. The bathroom was not great. Toilet ...barely flushes. Shower..kind of moldy around the edges. The worst part... the stink of urine! Obviously a leak in the toilet seal or something of that sort. All I can say is,it's not at all cool! And that's all my Canadian gen x half hippie self, will allow me to say about that. Overall I would say this hotel is at a great location, friendly staff, but completely over priced when you consider they're taking people's hard earned money and giving them a room that's simple,a bit dated, and with a seriously disgusting bathroom situation. Truth. If you go here, and I think it's ok to do it,don't accept room 115 until they rip up the floor in the bathroom and fix whatever is wrong there. All together,we won't go back, but what does BW care? They can get hundreds more people to pay 300 bux a night for a room with a stinky bathroom and a super nice beach. Oh well....

"Why didn't I know about this place before?"
Eric J, 31 Juillet 2017

Excellent location, and quaint rooms. Large rooms, all with lake view. We spent time lakeside, and also made the short trip south to Silverwood Amusement Park. Nice restaurant and lounge attached. Mattress was a little tired, but everything else was top notch.

"No breakfast but close to beach"
woodmister, 29 Juillet 2017

This is an older property but it is comfortable. The bathroom facilities are small by modern standards. Some might even say way too small. The rooms are well appointed and spacious - no complaints here. I missed not getting the normally included breakfast but it is easy to see why. The hotel is literally on the public beach so it is in demand. This is a destination hotel not an over-night stay hotel, hence the inflated prices. The property is not easy to find so find the main beach, which is in the town center. If you need breakfast or any other meals for that matter know there is a good restaurant within the BW property and there is a bar on the property.

"Sandpoint Best WEstern"
victore705, 29 Juillet 2017

A great place to stay in Sandpoint . The rooms are large and feature views of the lake. It is the only lake front hotel in Sandpoint. I have stayed there several times and always have found staff to be extremely friendly and ready to go out of their way to help. If you are staying on the Weekend be sure to try the Sunday buffet at the Trinity restaurant which is part of the hotel.

"A great family gathering spot.."
MontanaVacation1, 16 Juillet 2017

We just met family for a 3 day gathering. The Best Western Edgewater Resort was perfect place to meet. We enjoyed the lake, the city park and being close to downtown. Our rooms were nice, quiet and we loved the view of the lake. The best feature for our family was the nice grass lawn (minus the duck poop) where we were able to visit and enjoy picnic type meals. The staff was friendly and most helpful. We also enjoyed the pool and spa area. We will return! We had a boat and were able as guest to use a boat slip as well.

"Great Location"
Dave B, 14 Juillet 2017

Couldn't get a better location in Sandpoint. Very Clean and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and all the rooms look out over the lake. Restaurant was very good. Internet a little slow. Would highly recommend this hotel.

"A great view"
NWCruiser, 12 Juillet 2017

We had a very nice room with jetted tub. Faced the lake on the ground floor opening to grass before the beach. So great to sit outside and enjoy the lake view. The Edgewater has a privately owned restaurant attached...we had lunch, dinner and breakfast there, very good. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and of course, did I mention the view! We were on the end of our vacation and only 1-1/2 hours from home, so glad we stopped and stayed.

"Campground Facility is Below Average"
danf52, 11 Juillet 2017

We stayed at the campground which belongs to and is managed by this hotel. On the positive side, there was access to the hotel pool and shower facilities. And we were just steps away from the beach, or a short walk across the bridge to a very unique 'walking town' with plenty of food choices. The location is really quite nice. But Sandpoint is known as a Train Funnel. 40 trains, on average, pass through this beautiful little spot every 24 hours. The track was a mere 20 feet from the back of our camper. The entire camper shook every 20-30 minutes. Otherwise, I'd liken the campground itself to 'parking lot camping'. It has hookups, but otherwise it's pretty drab.

"Nice Beach Resort Hotel"
rjs272, 11 Juillet 2017

Rooms nicely appointed, beach outside your door on a beautiful lake. The hotel staff was eager to please. Everything was clean. Our stay with 4 grandchildren was great! Rooms were large and accommodating .

"Summer fun"
Z6898LNdeborahm, 11 Juillet 2017

The Best Wester Edgewater in Sandpoint is a great place to take the entire family for a summer get away. The lake is right outside your hotel room door. The facility also has a wonderful pool and hot tube if you get tired of playing in the lake!

"Great place to be"
Andreas S, 09 Juillet 2017

Last year I wasn't happy with the service staff and the food in the restaurant. This year however, was very different. I noticed much more support staff on the floor, more positive and better trained wait stuff. Food was more consistent and presented nice. Kudos to the chefs in the kitchen, they have a tough job in their small hot space and still produce good food.

"Dirty room Great location"
Vacationer509, 04 Juillet 2017

The location is Great! The room had a lot to be desired! It was very dirty the carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed and there was spider webs and dirt, bed sheets had holes as well as the curtains and horrible pillows! The outside sliding glass door was broke as well as the top latch on the door. The AC didn't work well either. They are Over -Priced. But I must say there restaurant food was good.

"Great locale downtown"
horsetraveler2016, 20 Juin 2017

Lovely lakeside locale. Short walk to all restaurants and shops. Property seemed a little tired. Beds not terribly comfortable, tub and toilet room so small you could soak your feet while on the john. Wasn't as tidy as I expected for the cost.

"Happy as a clam!"
Ronnie B, 18 Juin 2017

We just got back a few days ago and I have to say we were so pleased with our stay! Right from the start of booking our stay, I was so impressed by Troy and his staff! I explained I was trying to book a family trip between my son who is a Marine and getting deployed on last Thursday and my other son who attends a school in Montana. We were arriving different times and Troy and his staff were so patience with me and my requests. Not only did he book my rooms, he also helped me with my rewards points and gave us the military rate! The rooms were very clean and our housekeeper was the best! The only complaint I have and it wasn't because of the hotel staff, it is a non smoking hotel and grounds, but of course, you get the ignorant people who ignore the rules. I complained twice and it was taken care of. Looking forward to our next visit. The Burkerts

"Fine for a night, but wouldn't stay more"
tlakey88, 18 Juin 2017

We are avid Best Western stayers. Pretty much every where we go, we pick a BW. Usually cannot go wrong. This is the first time we have been disappointed. We had a dog friendly room, on the first floor right next to the pool. It was great to have first floor access with the dog, and then have the large yard to enjoy. The front desk check in was good, and the service man replaced our non working fridge late at night since we didn't get into town until around 7:30pm. We really appreciated it because we always pack snacks and having a fridge is so nice. However, the room itself was so disappointing. The beds were hard and old, and worn out. And even having the air conditioner on most of the night, we both got very hot. We tried at first to just keep the fan on to drown out the passing trains, but we had to switch that after a few hours. And it seemed a train passed every time the fan of the air conditioner turned off. We actually slept so poorly that we decided to drive 4.5 hours home after the wedding we were attending instead of staying another night. The bathroom appears nice, but the shower head was clogged up, and didn't shoot out straight. $20 for a new shower head is a must for this hotel soon. And the bathroom door drove me nuts. I have to get up to the bathroom a couple times a night, and I don't turn on the light for obvious reasons, so I leave the door open for a little bit of light. However, the door doesn't open all the way. The door opened right into the middle of the toilet so you couldn't actually open the door all the way. Not fun to have to turn the light on, and shut the bathroom door to have to pee at 3am and again at 5am. We also were surprised that the hotel didn't offer a breakfast. I think this is the first BW I have been to that didn't offer a breakfast.

"Ok but no more "
Darren W, 16 Juin 2017

Good location , with a great view , but the hotel is tired and in our room we had noise from the pool / spar area in our room . If I came to stay in Standpoint again I would first look to stay elce where

"weekend stay"
Glen Malcolm Mr M, 14 Juin 2017

enjoyed a weekend in Sandpoint, hotel was very clean. Staff very friendly and helpfull, check in and checkout was very smooth and hassel free. hotel lounge, restaurant clean and staff very friendly. will be back again in the near future

"Edgewater experience"
Kimberwilson, 10 Juin 2017

Loved the family friendly visit this past week. Kids loved the indoor pool during less than ideal weather. Great access to the lake and we were even able to dock our boat during our stay which was awesome!!!

"Love the Edgewater"
travisd692, 09 Juin 2017

The Edgewater has the best views and location of any hotel in town. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean. It's our go-to when we need a night away from the kids. I feel the rate is a little steep for folks who live and work in Sandpoint. If the weekend rates were lower we would stay there more often.

"Lovely views and friendly staff"
Kimberley T, 07 Juin 2017

It's always a treat to stay at the Best Western Edgewater. It is definitely the most comfortable hotel in Sandpoint. The managers are beyond friendly and helpful, as they helped find taxis from the Spokane airport, and volunteered to drive me to the Sandpoint Airport. You won't beat the friendly staff and great views.

"Good hotel in Sandpoint"
Jane P, 01 Juin 2017

Excellent customer service. Great location. Great views. Good facilities. Restaurant on site is very good but could offer more vegetarian and healthy options. Close to railway line - so difficult to sleep with door open!

"Over service of Alcohol"
Suzanna G, 30 Mai 2017

The bar over served several females, whom were vulgar and confrontational, asking to fight and chanting "they were LOCALS", so they could do what they wanted to do. BEWARE. There was no manager so the young wait staff didn't know what to do to control the circumstance, when I complained at the Motel there response was merely that the Restaurant/Bar had a different owner and they could do nothing.

"Best 1st anniversary ever!"
766galenp, 27 Mai 2017

The setting of hotel on lake could have be a better view. Enjoy wine on the cute patio, so relaxing looking at the lake. Great pool, exercise room, room is so well kept. I would give it A+ for clearness.

"Thank you!"
donaldz178, 24 Mai 2017

I normally travel on business but took a few days break that included a stay at the Edgewater Resort. What a great treat and my thanks to the staff for a great stay. Beautiful location with a very special restaurant that is just excellent!

"Very nice "
Steve P, 19 Mai 2017

Beautiful location on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. Magnificent view. Friendly staff and a decent restaurant. Walking distance to the downtown area, quaint shops and outstanding eateries. The only knock is the trains - no horns but frequent clickety-clack. All rooms face the lake and have a hallway to buffer the noise though. Good AARP discount if you qualify.

"Needed getaway"
Nancy K, 16 Mai 2017

This is a very lovely resort located right on the lake. There is a nice grassy area between the hotel and the lake. I really enjoyed hearing the clacking of the train as it passed the hotel, there were no horns just the gently passing clacking. My only complaint was I had a room right across the hall from an outside entrance/exit and every time anyone entered or left the was the noise of the slamming door. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Over all it was a great get away. There is no elevator but fortunately the second floor is level with the parking lot.

"Weekend getaway"
jamespF1295QT, 15 Mai 2017

Had a great time! Great location and excellent motel. Right on the beach and easy walk to downtown. Would be even better if the pool opened earlier and the hot tub was hotter. We will be back when it's not so cold and rainy.

"Girls Weekend"
W6308PQstephaniem, 15 Mai 2017

Edge Water at City Beach in Sand Point is a GREAT place to go for a girls weekend of shopping and dining. The hotel staff was super friendly, the room was super clean and comfortable and the adjoining restaurant Trinity was amazing .

"Visit Sandpoint's Best Western"
kellies162, 12 Mai 2017

This is a great location and the staff are extremely friendly. I have stayed here on multiple occasions and you can't beat the location. The staff upon check in were extremely friendly and the restaurant/bar Trinity on the Beach is also a great spot. You can't beat the views as it's right on the water. The hotel should be updated and the décor will be a lot more welcoming in the coming months. I'll stay here every time I visit Sandpoint on business. It's not your typical "best western"

"Great views and good food"
C7292FPchristinag, 11 Mai 2017

We were just passing by but we had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and the bed comfortable though a little cramped. The restaurant attached to the hotel had good food, decent prices and good service.

"One weekend stay"
Judy H, 05 Mai 2017

Excellent hotel, rooms comfortable with lovely view of the lake. Would definitely stay if in the area. This was our second stay at this hotel. Not a complimentary breakfast but a very reasonable restaurant with excellent food adjacent to the hotel, we ate there several times. Cara at the front desk was extremely helpful when we decided to stay an extra night and had to change rooms.

"27th Anniversary"
antoniaa251, 01 Mai 2017

It was a great time and were happy we spent our 27th Anniversary at Best Western Edgewater Resort in Sandpoint, Idaho.. Everything was in walking distance, the beach close by and lots of walking paths to enjoy...

"Wonderful weekend "
Mike M, 20 Avril 2017

The whole family was here for a birthday party and the staff here could not have done more to make us feel at home. The catering and wait staff were magnificent! We will certainly be back! The weather was cold and rainy but overall, a great time.

"Comfortable Room with Beautiful Views"
H1328OWkarenh, 14 Avril 2017

We were two 65+ adults traveling and stayed one night at Sandpoint. The view from the room was breathtaking. The restaurant (not affiliated with the hotel) was excellent! Would stay there again and recommend.

"Nothing Special"
Nancy H, 13 Avril 2017

Check in was abrupt and rushed. After a 7 hour drive, travelers want a calm, smooth welcome. Very strong chlorine smell in hallway. Right on the train line. Nice view of lake. Complicated access from highway.

"Great staff and property"
A5469SUnancys, 10 Avril 2017

Very happy with our 3 day stay in spite of crumby weather. Lake side rooms all have great views. All the staff were friendly and over the top helpful. Restaurant has excellent choices and preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

"Short vacay"
Don958321, 04 Avril 2017

There was one front desk girl who could care less, horrible attitude but other than her everything was great. Location was amazing and rooms were clean. Seems the hotel is old as the walls are very thin.

"Perfect getaway place"
maryjow914, 31 Mars 2017

After a long winter it was nice to get away for a break. The hotel was above average and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Although the rail line runs next to the hotel it was not a distraction at all as all rooms face the lake away from the tracks. Really a beautiful setting in the very scenic town of Sandpoint, Idaho. Will stay there again.

"Very nice"
justinhT1017BG, 28 Mars 2017

Very comfortable for a longer stay. Great to have the dogs allowed too. Train traffic was a little bit challenging but there is not really anywhere in town to escape this. Very nice lakeside location. Loved the hallway open feeling.

"Average"
FAtraveller333, 28 Mars 2017

I was a little disappointed with the check in, I had to wait for the front desk agent. The location is great, clean hotel and comfortable beds. The hotel is run down and needs a face lift. Overall, I will return for the location and the price.

"Very Convenient, Lovely Setting"
J1512RDkathyh, 26 Novembre 2016

This is a very comfortable hotel. We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The cleaning staff did a wonderful job everyday. Another thing we enjoyed about this hotel is the view, it's surrounded by mountains and the lake.

"Great Restaurant On Site"
globetrekker84, 25 Novembre 2016

I stayed here for a week for business. Staff are friendly and there is a great restaurant on-site. Be aware, there are train tracks that run past the hotel and trains do go by at all hours of the day and night. Surprisingly, the rooms are pretty well insulated and falling asleep with the TV on every night helps to drown them out. The rooms are average. You do have a fridge and a microwave. The only complaint I have is the shower head is weird/hard to adjust direction and the bed sits really low to the floor. The hotel apparently allows dogs because toward the end of my stay, there were some seriously yappy ones below my room. Seems like it could be a nice hotel in the warmer months and is in walking distance to the beach as well as the shops downtown.

"TRAINS"
160shaylenek, 22 Novembre 2016

If you want peaceful and quiet relaxation don't stay here. Trains run 24 hours a day and shake the building. Nice view of the lake but no other qualities here. My room did not have a climate control heading system. I had to manually turn on and off even in the middle of the night and the box was super loud. Not what I was looking for at all for a visit to Sandpoint.

"A special place - just one day south of Calgary"
Allan_Laird, 14 Novembre 2016

I have stayed many times at the BW Edgewater Resort in Sandpoint. The location is amazing, right on the lakeshore. The front desk staff are unfailingly polite and helpful (and funny). The rooms are clean and comfortable, the hot tub and pool also have a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The restaurant is quite good but it's also only a 5 minute walk into town and there are many good dining choices there too. The last time I stayed, they even upgraded me to the Honeymoon Suite for no extra charge. This is a fine hotel in an exceptional location.

"Getting older"
Msquita, 30 Octobre 2016

We just stayed at this hotel which has always been our hotel in Sandpoint, but it is getting run down. It has a great location, connected to a great restaurant, but the inside need some work. This time we were in what they called the honeymoon suite which had a separate bedroom witch is a plus when your staying for a week, but curtains are getting old, our bedframe broke, but they took care of it. The hosekeeping staff was great. Will go to the hotel on the other side of the long bridge next time.

"Perfect Location, Close to Everything"
Jordan B, 28 Octobre 2016

Really enjoyed my stay here. Am always pleased with the Best Western experience but you can't beat the location in an amazing town. Hotel is walking distance to everything, right by lake, with a great restaurant connected right next to it. Rooms were comfortable with all the amenities. No hot breakfast but restaurant makes up for it.

"Great location and views"
seekingwarmerclimes, 27 Octobre 2016

This hotel is very uneven. There are some great things about it and then some not so good things. As long as you can live with the not so good, you will enjoy your stay. So the great things: very nice views of the beach, water and mountains beyond. Also it is right across the bridge from downtown Sandpoint so very quick walking access to shops, restaurants, etc. There is a fairly good restaurant on site (it isn't a "hotel restaurant" but rather a restaurant that happens to be in a hotel). Nice pool area, some features of the room are nice (bathrooms are good, crown molding on ceiling, etc.). Parking is free and there weren't any "resort charges" or stuff like that. Not so good things: well first off, the trains. Not much the hotel can do about it but there are train tracks right behind the hotel and trains seem to go by there non-stop for a decent part of the day and night. You can hear them in many places of the hotel and they even make the building shake. No I am not exaggerating. Now that wasn't a total dealbreaker for us but it might be for some. Other issues: bed was not particularly comfortable, TV was old and outdated with few HD channels offered, heating unit was very loud and not particular effective, parts of hotel smelled strongly of chlorine from the pool. All in all I would say at this hotel again for the location and views.

"Great location and service"
kslstl, 12 Octobre 2016

This hotel offers a great location in Sandpoint. Right on the lake for terrific sunsets and dining. Plus it is an easy walk into town. We've stayed here numerous times and find the staff friendly and very helpful.

"Excellent Stay"
51527478, 09 Octobre 2016

Spent two nights at the Best Western Edgewater Resort and had a great experience. Great staff, clean room, beautiful balcony and view. Will be back to stay again. Had breakfast at the restraurant both mornings and it was great. This was my first vacation after completing my Cancer treatment and it was so relaxing just what I needed.

"one night stay in Sandpoint"
tim m, 08 Octobre 2016

average hotel room on Lake Pend Oreille (high room rate based on that fact). room was clean. connecting restaurant (independently owned) is excellent (had dinner and breakfast). lake park and downtown Sandpoint within walking distance

"Best reason to stay is the lake view"
FrancesinIdaho, 07 Octobre 2016

Stayed here on our way to Glacier Park. Other Sandpoint motels had lower room rates but we stayed here for three reasons: easy to find, in house restaurant & lakeside location. Because the restaurant is not owned or run by the Best Western brand it opened for breakfast later than quite a few guests desired, including ourselves. We went elsewhere. Room was clean enough. A wet cleaning sponge had been left on the floor which seemed odd. Toilet was very noisy & ran for an undesirably long time. Otherwise stay was comfortable & as expected. View of the lake was fantastic with access to the beach walkway right outside our patio door.

"Great place to stay in Sandpoint"
Kimberly B, 05 Octobre 2016

Beautiful view of the lake. Restaurant was excellent! The beds were comfy and plenty of room to move about. Internet was good and we liked being so close to a walking trail and of course Starbucks Coffee!!

"Nice stay but over priced"
Chris L, 27 Septembre 2016

We stopped in late one night on our way through. Took a while to get checked in but we were tired so it may have seemed longer than it was. The hotel is relatively nice. It's basically a long hallway, but at least it gives every room a view of the marina. The rooms were nice. Ours had a microwave and fridge (not sure if they all do) as well as a patio that lead to the back side of the resort. The walls are pretty thin. We heard house-keeping vacuuming a room that sounded almost like they were in ours. We went to the restaurant/bar in the hotel around 10:30. It seems that's the worst time to go because breakfast is over and lunch hasn't started yet. The server did say she could probably get me some toast if I wanted but i just ended up with coffee. The service was friendly and great view from the bar and outside patio. It was a nice hotel, but it was expensive given the time of year so I can't imagine what it would be during the high season.

"One of two best places to stay in Sandpoint"
Traceyl158, 25 Septembre 2016

The restaurant in this hotel, Trinity, is terrific. The staff throughout the hotel are helpful and professional. My only complaint involved obtaining my receipt via email. I called four times within 24 hours of checking out because the email was just not coming through. We double checked spelling, and I offered a back up email. Bottom line, there was a problem with the hotel's email system and they ended up having to print it out and mail it to me, which was frustrating. Other than that, this is a great hotel, with beautiful views and a perfect location. If you want to stay in town, this is the place to go!

"Average at best"
Colleen G, 20 Septembre 2016

Our room was on second floor, 236 next to a meeting room that was in use at the time which was somewhat annoying as participants gathered in hallway by our room to chat. The room was small, dingy and needed updating. The toilet may as well had been in the bathtub it was so close to it, the bed was hard and the pillows were square and hard as rocks. The AC unit needed work and was very loud. The view was nice, however it was obscured by a stairway. The staff were nice the day we checked in but not the guy the next morning who I found to be rude. We did eat lunch at the restaurant out on the veranda. Food was good, service okay, hornets a nuisance that forced us to leave in a hurry. Will not return to this hotel.

"Great Lakeside Location"
Valerie W, 16 Septembre 2016

The rooms were clean and the view was great. The restaurant attached to the hotel was superb and a good value for such wonderful food. There is no laundry facilities and no free continental breakfast. The coffee Kreug in the rooms was Farmers brand and pretty good but you have to go to the lobby to get your sugar or cream. The rooms have their own little patios if they face the lake. Be sure and check out the miniature statue of liberty on the dock of the public beach.

"25th Anniversary Plus"
Anne M, 15 Septembre 2016

Our room was overlooking the lake. Really beautiful resort and loved the unique town. To help us celebrate our 25th the staff upgraded our room to the honeymoon suite. Excellent food and helpful staff.

"Best in Sandpoint"
LarryandMaureen, 14 Septembre 2016

All the rooms here face the Lake. Bottom floor opens onto the grass and beach. A well managed hotel and best location in Sandpoint. Outside bar and restaurant a good option if the weather co-operates. Reviews that mention train noise may be not be accurate as we never heard them go by during the night. There is a buffer between the rooms and the exterior that faces the trains so not a problem.

"Gorgeous Lake views"
Casseyewis, 13 Septembre 2016

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The views of the lake are beautiful. The marina and the boats are nice. There is some green space to add to the scenery. The onsite restaurant and lounge are really nice to have. We were with a car club and after we've driven all day, we love having the option to park the cars and not have to go out to find food and drinks. Pleasant and helpful staff. Really good!

"A clean, comfortable hotel in a great location"
privateertx, 12 Septembre 2016

I was greeted promptly by friendly staff and checked in quickly. Our double queen room was comfy and clean. A few fixtures and linens seem dated -- doors and carpets especially -- but are otherwise fine. Ceilings seemed a little thin, as noise from the room upstairs traveled down to us easily. The location is really great if you want to walk or take in the beachfront scenery along the marina. It's a five-minute walk to the main street in town for food and shops, or the hiking/biking trail along the inner channel. The restaurant in the hotel is privately owned, so no free continental breakfast here. Grab a quick bite at a coffee shop in town on First Street instead.

"Impressed for a different reason"
Trina F, 05 Septembre 2016

My wife and I were walking nearby the Edgewater this weekend (we weren't staying there; we were just enjoying the neighborhood) when we heard a plaintive cry - a very tiny kitten stuck in a bush and completely freaking out. We went to the Edgewater to see if they had any water for the little critter and Stacy (front desk? manager? Either way, outstanding!) took charge. The hotel, it seems, knows about the local feral cat population and makes sure to take cats they come across to a local shelter to be spayed/neutered and adopted into good homes (how proactive!!). Stacy reached into the bush, grabbed the kitten, checked him out, said, "I have some appropriate food in the car. Cow milk will hurt him," and assured us the little dude would be in good hands. You know, it's not often you encounter this sort of kind and swift assurance, this "It shall be done properly and to the good health of all" attitude. We didn't stay this time, but next time we're in Sandpoint, the Edgewater will be our choice. Thanks, Stacy!

"Great stay!"
alhchi, 03 Septembre 2016

The room was spacious, enjoyed the balcony and lake view. Front desk had great local recommendations and were very friendly. Convenient location to wander around town and the beach. Would definitely stay again!

"Edgewater B/W Sandpoint, Id"
Dave L, 03 Septembre 2016

Excellent location, close to main drag. Water front view of beach and morning sunrises. All you need right there. Bar, restaurant, beach, bicycle and walking paths, boat water tours, shopping, swimming, professional staff, all in all rated it 5 star

"Outstanding service and great views of Pend d'Orielle"
Mike C, 31 Août 2016

I have been is Sandpoint many times on business and dined at Trinity located at the BW Edgewater. Always great meals and spectacular views from the deck. This trip however my wife and I came up on vacation from St. Louis and had the pleasure of staying at the hotel. I can't say enough about how friendly the staff was and very responsive to any questions we had. I was having trouble with the wi-if and Troy the GM came to our room checked everything out and even tested the internet speed. Turns out the issue was operator error on my part, but the service was above and beyond. If visiting Sandpoint have a great meal at Trinity and stay the night at the BW Edgewater, you won't be disappointed in either. Be sure and book the "fireplace" room. Room # 111.

"Sandpoint in the Summer"
Donald S, 31 Août 2016

A most convenient location with ease of access to virtually every activity. Great access to a beautiful, along the river walking path as well as to the beach and lake activities. Breakfasts at the Trinity restaurant are superb. Equally, the staff are professional and accommodating.

"Sandpoint on the water experience"
Neil S, 23 Août 2016

Hotel is in a beautiful location on the water. Near Sandpoint City Beach. Hotel has convenient parking. However, boat docking area is not too good. Duck/goose poop on docks and the water is somewhat questionable. We chose not to leave boat in water overnight. Beds are uncomfortable. First room check-in had dog hair remaining from previous guest. Second room, food left in fridge from previous guest, bathroom needed more of a wipe down.

"Beautiful Setting for a Place to Eat on the Lake"
George M, 22 Août 2016

We had breakfast in the restaurant this morning and we seated at a window overlokking the City Beach and the Lake. Too windy and cool to be outside but we were offred the choice of in or out. The menu has the ususal staples with a twist with their Scrambles that have the meats, cheeses and/or veges scrambled with two eggs. Comes with home fries and toast or muffin for 7 dollars. Was delicious and more than enough to eat. One person had the egs, sausage and pancakes. The sausage was not the Jimmy Dean type, it looked local and was very good. Pabcakes were large, fluffy and equally good. Well worth visiting to enjoy the view and the food.

"Nice Restaurant called Trinity"
tomriggs, 21 Août 2016

great views, good food and atmosphere, right on the water! Very good menu, reasonable prices and a fun place in Sandpoint. Roast Beef very good.Very active deck by the beach, good for family and kids, great setting right on the lake.

"Great Location!"
midcentury2014, 21 Août 2016

Rooms smell a bit musty, but the location is fantastic right on the beach. Front desk staff very helpful and customer service is great. Rooms are clean, good bed linens. Easy walk to downtown and right close to the bike/walking path.

"Nice location, so-so hotel"
Ellen H, 20 Août 2016

This hotel is located in a lovely spot right on the lake with places to walk around the harbor. It's an easy walk to downtown restaurants and shopping. The front desk staff was very nice. Other than that, I've never been a big fan of Best Westerns, for some reason. I don't feel they provide value for the money you spend. I'd still choose this hotel over others in Sandpoint because of the location.

"lovely hotel, right on the beach"
Ann24Virginia, 19 Août 2016

The Best Western is an older hotel that lacks some of the glitz of a luxury city hotel. It more than makes up for this by its perfect location on the lake, as well as the friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Having a microwave and refrigerator in the room was nice. Our balcony that looked out over the water was wonderful. The hotel is dog friendly. Since I was missing our dogs, I enjoyed petting and talking with several dogs at the hotel. Even the restaurant has outdoor seating where dogs are welcome. The only extra I would have liked was easy access to a washer/dryer. We spent a lot of time outside, got pretty dirty walking in the woods, and ended up changing clothing a couple of times per day. Sandpoint is a great place to visit. The Best Western was the perfect place to stay.

"RV park connected to best western edgewater"
Terry E, 14 Août 2016

This is really just a parking lot that fits an RV There are full hook ups There is a pool and hot tub in the hotel which you may use I would not stay here again with the dozens of trains each day right beside the sites, the trains are frequent and very long trains. Staff at the hotel are very confused about renting out the RV spots and you must provide a credit card as if you are checking into a hotel, then go through check out when leaving. For a campsite it very crowded and at $51 per night. U. S. not worth it. If you want to use wifi it is inside the hotel and not in the camping area. When we called to see if there was anything available we were told it was full but in person they rented us a site and we noted that three sites remained empty, it seems they have a poor system

"ok place"
Steven T, 14 Août 2016

The stay was great except for all the goose poop all over the lawns and sidewalks. The restaurant serves great food with great service. the town is great for walking around. All rooms have a great view of the water and the maintained beaches.

"Amazing Staff"
Q9400KMdawnm, 11 Août 2016

Especially Glenn on the night shift! After being on a delayed arrival from the Delta Computer Meltdown, he went above and beyond the call of duty with extra water, amenities, and a note wishing me a wonderful stay! SO impressed by Glenn and the whole team!

"Mediocre hotel"
dsblanchard, 10 Août 2016

The room was very average with a small window overlooking some bushes at the side of the hotel. At a price of over $300 per night you expect more. The breakfast was nothing special and you had to fight to get stable. On the positive side, the young staff were enthusiastic and helpful. I would recommend staying at one of the lodges aroun Seward.

"Love it and coming back!"
Salem J, 10 Août 2016

We stayed on a ground floor room so we could walk right out to City Beach. It's a very clean hotel, the food is really good at the restaurant, all of the staff are really, really nice. The location is excellent to walk around Sandpoint. The ground floor rooms are all pet-friendly so we'll be back with out dog next summer. Loved the pool but heard from another couple that there room was right next to it and the ventilation is very, very loud. The only issue that can't be controlled is there are a lot of birds on the grass between your patio and beach so you want to wear shoes walking out to the beach. Can't wait to come back.

"disappointing"
boise70007, 08 Août 2016

nice location, but expensive for the room. Beds were OK - bathroom small and air conditioner noisy! Was expecting something more luxurious for the price. We stayed in the bottom floor - got"the last room" - the other side of the hallway looked way newer and didn't smell so stale and like chlorine Reception was OK - didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome

"Great Spot!"
KBontje, 08 Août 2016

Best spot for family vacation anywhere! Sandpoint is the place you make memories! Edgewater Resort is on the lake with a great beach across from a large park. It doesn't get any better for a family vacation. It's not fancy, it's just exactly what you need. It also has a fabulous restaurant on the beach with patio seating Check it out??

"Mountains, lake, sandy beaches, pool, spa and great food!"
Derry K, 05 Août 2016

Stayed at the Edgewater RV park which is next to the hotel and adjacent to the City Park which has great, sandy, lifeguarded beaches. We also had the use of the hotel amenities. The restaurant is very popular because of great food and fabulous view from the lakeside dining area. The wi-fi is only available at the hotel and the server ( internet provider) is slow and spotty. The only other drawback is the constant, extremely loud train traffic at all hours. The employees are very friendly and helpful.

"Nice People-medicore room"
Russ H, 05 Août 2016

I was traveling for business and I frequently stay at Best Western Hotels. Not knowing the area, I booked this hotel I entered the building into a nice lobby with super friendly front desk. I actually had booked the wrong night; fortunately, they had a room for me and we all had a good laugh. The rooms looked redone with newer carpet and TVs. That said, the room also looked a bit tired. Beaten up base boards, dingy curtains, and a small balcony with worn chairs. The bathroom had the same issues. At almost 200 dollars a night, I think the room should have been nicer. The reason to stay here would be the location. It is truly an amazing view on a really big lake. Sit on the balcony and watch the sunrise--that is the reason to be here. I also ate at the restaurant. The service is good and the food was fine, but, again, the reason to eat here is the view. So, relax and enjoy a glass of your favorite beverage. I would stay here again, but it is because of the staff and the lake.

"Beautiful Lake View"
Janetinbuhl, 03 Août 2016

All rooms in this remodeled property have a view of beautiful Lake Pend'Orielle. The front has been enclosed so rooms do not open directly to the parking lot. The room was clean and nicely appointed, though the bathroom was small. It's a short walk to downtown shops and pubs. We would stay again.

"Wow! Incredible service and breathtaking view!"
CalgaryTraveljunkies, 27 Juillet 2016

We stayed in the Best Western this past weekend and I can't say enough good things about our stay. The rooms are nice and clean and have an exceptional view of the breathtaking lake. Sandy at the front desk turned an ordinary stay extraordinary! She went above and beyond to exceed our expectations in every way and treated us like long lost family (and she gave our small children bottled water and peanuts). As far as I am concerned there is no where else to stay in Sandpoint! And the attached restaurant was convenient, very good and had exceptional service as well. (My only small complaint is our shower on the upper floor was very slow to drain.) Thanks again Sandy!

"Retreat"
NancyPanx, 26 Juillet 2016

My fiancé and I love to stay in the jacuzzi tub suite on the ground floor. We have a slider to access the beach and let our dog out if he is with us. A short walk to excellent food @ Trinity Cafe and to Main Street Sandpoint! We love to stay here!??

"Amazing 4th of July"
Shawn E, 24 Juillet 2016

We did not stay at this hotel overnight but we had a great dinner and drinks all night on the Deck in preparation to watch the fireworks. Great Food, access to beach and view of the fireworks. Very friendly staff and I would stay here if we could.

"Annoying air conditioner"
Steven M, 22 Juillet 2016

Location, view and restaurant are top notch. However when you go to bed and find that the air conditioner is 6 feet away and blows in your face all night it is pretty annoying. The room could easily be arranged to avoid this problem.

"Beautiful Location But There's No Complimentary Breakfast"
Cathy B, 22 Juillet 2016

No doubt about it, this is a a beautiful location for this hotel. I can say only good things about the room quality, beds, cleanliness and staff. All the rooms face the lake and beach. My one issue is with the advertised "Complimentary Breakfast" when reserving online. When we arrived we were told there is no complimentary breakfast as the restaurant is privately owned. We had four in our party including two children and were looking forward to a quick breakfast before we set out the next day. Another couple were checking in at the same time and they also expressed disappointment at the lack of breakfast as advertised. The next morning we did have breakfast in the restaurant. The staff was good and the service was quick but the pancakes were tough and burnt on the bottom. One of our party left the burnt side up so the staff could see. We were anxious to be on our way and didn't want to take the time to complain even though we should have. After we returned home I filled out a survey from Best Western regarding our stay in Sandpoint. I complained about the Complimentary Breakfast issue and the quality of the food in the restaurant but I haven't received any feedback. This is a higher end hotel and this issue should be addressed by Best Western and the management.

"Best Service with a Beautiful View"
MontanaLaura, 21 Juillet 2016

We took our entire soccer team and families here I. The middle of the busy summer season and we're still served amazingly well. The hostess is amazing and seated us within 20 minutes of arriving. Our waitress was quick funny and smart about getting our orders in. The view is amazing looking over The lake. The menu is lovely!

"Great location - but just stay at an Air BnB or VRBO!"
Riley C, 19 Juillet 2016

First, the location is perfect. Beautiful view from the room and walking distance to every thing. We paid a high price to have an extra room and bed space for three adults. The sofa sleeper was not actually something you could sleep on because the springs were sticking out. We asked for a cot - which was slightly better, but still pretty much a disaster for sleeping and then they wanted to charge us for it. The main bed was fine (though the pillows were like somebody's old pillows that they had pulled the filling out of and stuffed together.) Due to the location you would think the hotel would have umbrellas, beach towels, chairs etc for checkout/rental. Especially when you are flying in it is difficult if not impossible to bring many of these type things. We had to buy them and then give them away. At the least the hotel could have a holding place for people to use things that previous guests purchased - but, really - the location would almost imply that you would have these kind of items available. And having beverage/snack service on the beach would be even better. We knew this going into it because we called and asked - but I think they feel like they don't have to because they don't have any competition. Also - the AC units are terrible. Really terrible. I only rated as high as I did because the crib was a disaster and they actually bought a pack and play for us to use while we there. That was one of the first things that happened when we arrived so it set a positive tone that helped offset some of the terrible things. For example - I had to go to the ER when I first arrived and then was on a clear liquid diet. As I was transitioning off I needed super simple food. We asked the hotel for just one poached egg and they refused and said we had to pay $16 for the buffet. They finally did it when my wife was prepared to just pay $16 to get me a poached egg but did say, "well, that isn't very kind." I guess nobody likes to be told they are really being a jerk - so they made her one for $3.50. Also - the internet is terrible and there are broken machines in the fitness center.

"The Best View in Sandpoint"
Patricia L, 15 Juillet 2016

A Wonderful Location ---- water view with a beach and great sunset/sunrise. Our room (2nd Floor) with a balcony was Great. However, the property overall is older and could use an update. The bed was very comfortable and the view was outstanding.

"Great location over priced"
rbkellas, 06 Juillet 2016

Room was in reasonable condition but smelled of smoke. As we were on ground floor and there are ground level patios, smokers were sitting outside and our air conditioner pulled in all the cigarette smoke into our non smoking room. The curtains obviously had gotten from the someone leaving the sliding door open as they were are matted and crunchy. The location is in walking distance to restaurant and beach but overpriced for what you got.

"Relaxing stay!"
CorbyK, 06 Juillet 2016

I loved the waterfront views from the second floor balcony, the sauna, swimming pool and hot tub! It was a perfect location to relax and visit as well as to explore Sandpoint. The hotel staff was professional and friendly. We had dinner in the dining room and while the food and service was good, the noise level made it very difficult to hear. We discovered too late for dinner that the outside seating area with heaters is much more manageable for conversations and is warm enough even on a chilly night.

"Great location, great view of the lake"
Bernie J, 05 Juillet 2016

This hotel is a bit older but very clean and well maintained. The view of the lake and close proximity to a lot of activities make this hotel a place where we will stay again. Staff was very efficient and friendly. The restaurant attached to it had good food reasonably priced.

"Great location!!"
Serenereveries, 03 Juillet 2016

Usually I give hotels 5 stars when they are dog friendly. So 5 stars in my comments ?? The hotel location couldn't be better to town etc. Watch out while showering if your neighbor uses the water. There has been a financial snafoo so be aware to make it clear how you want to pay. They charged our card just hours after we checked in as opposed to check out time. We wanted to pay in a different way. One nice bonus is the bottled water in the room was free!!! Most hotels charge $3+ for that. Despite being full occupancy it is quiet and peaceful.

"Great view and great location"
Heather B, 02 Juillet 2016

We came as a walk in and hit a ground level lake facing jacuzzi room. The room was a good size but the bathroom was super small and a little strange but no biggie. The room faced the lake and had a patio that opened to the grass along with chairs to sit out on the grass which was great. The room had been updated but the bed was super hard and the decor in the room was a little ugly. Front desk was great. One strange thing was the ice maker was way the hell down a hallway by the pool in another section of the hotel. Quite a hike for ice. Location was awesome, just a short walk downtown. Will definitely stay here again.

"Could have been a lot better"
Greg M, 02 Juillet 2016

We were celebrating the wife's 30th birthday and had high hopes for a room with a view for $200 for 1 night. The gal at the front desk was nice and quick to help. Walked into the room and was immediately greeted with the overwhelming stench of gym socks that hit us like a brick wall. I opened the slider door and turned the A/C on for almost a half hour for the smell to go away... never did find out where it was coming from. There was stuff left in the nightstand drawer from the person before (or the person before that maybe? Who knows.) The caulking around tub and shower looked like it was done by a 4 year old and was cracked with black mold coming out of the seams. No exhaust fan in the bathroom and the vent above the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. Strike 1. Went to dinner in the attached restaurant. The coconut shrimp was excellent. The waitress recommended the baby back ribs and my wife ordered the salmon salad. The sauce and seasonings were excellent on the ribs- the ribs themselves were so tough I could barely get the meat off the bones. They were probably good at one time a few days prior, but not the day I ordered them and certainly not for $27. One of the ribs shot out of my hand and on to the floor a few feet away in my struggle to remove meat from bone. My wife's salmon was good, but $24 for a 4oz Costco piece of salmon on a half gallon of lettuce seems really excessive. Strike 2. Later that night, we tossed and turned on a horribly uncomfortable bed all night leaving us feeling haggard and worn out the next morning. What's with the tiny little throw pillows for the main pillows? The rattling A/C added to the insomnia. Strike 3. I can't believe I paid $220 for that room and $100 for that food. I've been to some really awesome Best Westerns- this was by far the worst. The info sheet on the back of the front door to our room said that our room goes for $100-$350... I feel bad for the sucker that pays $350. $100 would be pushing it. I absolutely will tell everyone I meet even thinking of staying at this BW to reconsider unless you guys change few things. This Best Western needs some help.

"All rooms face the glorious lake"
nyob, 01 Juillet 2016

Excellent design with glass enclosure on street/railroad side so every room is lake front. Very comfortable room, if no one turns on the noisy a/c which was not necessary. Nice patio, a great place to just be by the water.

"Nice very clean rooms at clearly the best location in Sandpoint"
yuerg, 30 Juin 2016

Very nice hotel, rooms are decent but very clean and the staff does an excellent job. I personally feel that the prices are ridiculous. I can stay at the davenport in down-town Spokane at a King-suite, the most luxurious place you can find up here for the exact same price I paid at the Edgewater in Sandpoint. Paying $200 per night for an average room with no elevator to the 3rd floor, no staff to help with luggage and old hallways with carpets from the 90s and an absolute despicable fitness room where not a single machine worked is a joke! If it was around $100 to $120 I could see past all the flaws in this place. Breakfast at the restaurant was mediocre at best. The one thing saving this place is the spectacular view over the lake, definitely a big plus waking up to that.

"Exceptional lunch"
Tom C, 30 Juin 2016

I visited the Edgewater for lunch with friends recently and was very impressed with the ambiance of the outside dinning area and the quality of the lunch. It was a beautiful day and the outside deck is close to the beach and made for a very pleasant place to enjoy lunch. The menu offerings are many and varied and the food was very tasty and the portions generous--with very reasonable prices. This place is a winner in every respect. Try the pecan chicken salad for a meal you won't soon forget. Very respectable service as well.

"excellent customer service"
Andreas S, 29 Juin 2016

After repeat visits to this lovely location on the lake, we experienced another 3 night stay. Receptionist was very accommodating. Hotel rooms average but well equipped with fridge, coffee maker, and well maintained. One thing we noticed was that vacuuming carpet and clearing patio could have been done more frequently. We had one issue at dinner and was dealt with well by the manager. Will definetly return.

"Great room; little spendy"
Batman516, 27 Juin 2016

We had a great stay in Sand Point. The hotel location is AMAZING! Literally on the lake and super close (like easy walking) to downtown. Our room had a little balcony, which was great. The only drawback is the cost; it felt a little spendy.

"good value"
carol k, 27 Juin 2016

checkin very friendly efficient nice to have a room with a view with a deck to sit outside and look at the view. nice location small bath room. ate at the adjoining restaurant as there isn't actually on in the hotel and breakfast if not included

"Beautiful views!"
Jennifer H, 24 Juin 2016

Small town get away with larger city amenities! Awesome staff at the hotel and the restaurant was very good. Very good bloody Mary's and great beer selection! I just wish the weather would have been nicer because beach access is amazing! Play gound picnic area very close! There's a Starbucks close by, too!

"Great view"
642jeanettem, 21 Juin 2016

This hotel is beautiful, all rooms face to the beach/lake. Good location, walking distance to town. Peaceful and relaxing wi if wasn't that great, room was a good size, comfy beds, staff is friendly and helpful.

"Room with a view"
Wanderer2003, 21 Juin 2016

Standard BW settings. Comfortable room, clean, with balcony and view of Pend Oreille Lake. No breakfast included, but they have a restaurant attached. Since they open only at 7 h 30, we had breakfast at Spud's (at 7 AM). Starbucks opens at 5 AM, for us early birds. Waking distance from the main streets, with boutiques and restaurants choices.

"good review"
Edward T, 18 Juin 2016

We have traveled to Sand Point many times in the last 40 years and this is our hotel of choice. It has always been worth our time and money. The location is fine for walking into town and back. Thank the management for us

"Nice for families"
Oregontraveler477, 17 Juin 2016

This property is right on the lake. There is a beach, park nearby and a walk way under the busier streets to access the downtown shops. Very convenient location, friendly atmosphere and on-point price wise for the area and the ease of getting to activities. There are rooms with great views, ask for lakeside if you can.

"Sandpoint visit"
David G. C, 17 Juin 2016

Excellent spot for hotel, view of lake from room. Restaurant in hotel was very good. Service was excellent-very helpful staff. When we needed directions to place we wanted to visit (museums, etc.), the counter people would show us on the map of the area we had, and sometimes use markers to show best route. They were obviously pleased to help us and very friendly.

"Expensive and no breakfast"
John L, 08 Juin 2016

Nice location, good parking, restaurant attached, decent rooms though lots of hair left in the bathroom. Expensive, especially when all the local taxes are added. No breakfast included which, considering the price, is not a good idea.

"An option to consider"
Krista C, 08 Juin 2016

The Edgewater is perfectly located with a view that is amazing. While the rooms are so so.... the restaurant rates with the very best in food quality and service. I look forward to dinners and breakfast here during every visit to Sandpoint whether I stay at the hotel or not. Rooms - average. Mattress below par. A bit dated, but again......ohhh that restaurant. My My!

"Best View in Idaho"
Rob S, 06 Juin 2016

The view from the room and restaurant deck were amazing. This hotel is on the beach (nestled between the largest lake in Idaho (Lake Pend Oreille) and Sandcreek. We had the options of paddle boarding up Sandcreek or on the lake, bicycling along Sandcreek or across the Long Bridge, or strolling through town (McDuff's) without ever moving the car. To cap off an epic weekend, make the short drive to Schweitzer for the summer chairlift ride. This is North Idaho!

"Great Location!"
Billbear56, 30 Mai 2016

This is the fourth time we have stayed here and we were not disappointed! All of the rooms face the lake which is nice. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is always friendly and courteous. It is very nice to wake up in the morning and look out the sliding glass door at the lake while drinking a cup of coffee. They also have a great restaurant and lounge. We will stay here again.

"Sandpoint"
Carole F, 30 Mai 2016

We enjoyed the view of the water and activities on the beach and park. Excellent location and easy to get to. This is a well-maintained property with competent staff. Food was excellent and we were able to walk to all activities. We will return.

"Good hotel. Clean. Good service. Great location."
279josephinep, 21 Mai 2016

The restaurant food and service was excellent, but the room was noisy and looked cold. Atmosphere didn't go with the price. Coffee pot didn't work. They tried to be nice, but the condescending attitude didn't come off well.

"Awesome location!"
christinamh28, 18 Mai 2016

The location of this hotel couldn't be better! It's directly on the City Beach and within a 5 minute walk from downtown. The beds were very comfy and staff was friendly. Only disappointment is that there wasn't breakfast included. There is a restaurant on site that sounded good but was pricey. Overall a good choice in Sandpoint.

"Not Elegant, Just Right"
Ron W, 07 Mai 2016

First, I'm not sure how much the room costs because my employer reserved it and is being billed, so I'm not sure about "value." I do know that Spring/Summer rates throughout this area are considerably higher than at other times. As a tourist or just passing through, you could not ask for a better location in Sandpoint. Yes, for first-time visitors, navigating to the hotel from the south requires knowledge and 4 turns. Not quite sure about from north or west. If you came from the east, it must have been by boat, because the hotel is located on the lake shore. Yes, there is a somewhat busy train track in front (west side) of the hotel parking lot, but I haven't noticed the trains at all. Looks like all rooms front the lake, with a sound-attenuating hallway between trains and rooms. The rooms have a small balcony overlooking a green (Springtime) lawn, the beach, and a nice, large boat dock. Not sure whether the dock, which currently has no boats, is usable by guests because it and the hotel are adjacent to a very nice city park, with some RV parking there. Once you navigate to the hotel (which appears to be beside Hwy. 95 on maps), the very cool downtown shopping (and dining) area is just a walk, bike ride, or drive (if you don't want exercise or have time) across a short bridge crossing a canal. There is, surprisingly, a decent restaurant (Trinity at City Beach) collocated with the hotel (review written separately). My very large room had two queen beds, a tucked-away mini fridge and microwave, and a large, nice bathroom. The beds had 5 pillows, each, and for me, were comfortable (highly subjective). The carpet and furnishings were fairly "dated," but everything worked properly. Changing furniture to "keep up with the times" is costly (passed on to customers) and in my view, unnecessary, if working and maintained well. Everything was clean, and there were lots of towels. The WiFi worked very well, and the staff, particularly the housekeepers, but everyone, were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. I do not give 5 stars often, but the combination of everything (not sure about price vs. value) earned it for them. Thanks, boss.

"Amazing place to stay, however"
Kylah-dawn M, 04 Mai 2016

The Edgewater in sandpoint was a perfect little location for us. Easy access to downtown and a amazing view of the lake. We just wanted somewhere to relax and enjoy our surroundings and the Edgewater didn't disappoint. Despite the great room and beautiful views, we did run into a few problems, being from Canada our payment was a little difficult and it wouldn't take my partners card and I ended up paying for the first night and was told to come in and pay for the 2nd the next morning after we contacted our banks. The front desk woman Stacy was amazing and very helpful with this. The next morning we went to breakfast and Trinity's, which was such good food, and then proceeded to pay for the next night right after. However after I went back to the room I checked my bank account to see what was there and the front desk guy at the time charged me twice for the second night, I went out and shower him my statement and he told me that it would be on my banks end and I need to call them. Which I did and it wasn't on their end. The morning turned to afternoon and this guy Dallas spent hours on the phone with my bank and their credit card holder with absolutely no progress. He told me it would take up to 6 business days to get my money back. Which I needed to get home the next day. He told me he could give me in store credit or cash back that I would have to pay back at a later date. And then said he would call me back in my room once he knew all the information. Which he didn't. He went home and didn't even tell the his manager what had happened. Stacy the woman who had checked us in was back in that night and I proceeded to tell her what happened. Stacy had the mistake fixed and my money back within ten minutes, she was very helpful and understanding and she made our stay wonderful. All in all a very great place to stay. Just need to maybe rethink one of their staff.

"Great location, food and acomodations"
Realaloha, 30 Avril 2016

Enjoyed everything about my stay. The view is lovely, the restaurant and bar serve wonderful options and drinks, and my room was comfortable. Ample parking, good water pressure, a large selection of pillows, every room faces the water. Convenient walking distance to downtown Sandpoint.

"Sandpoint Idaho great place to stay"
anitamV4952YG, 26 Avril 2016

gorgeous view, wonderful service, lovely room, can't recommend it highly enough! The hotel is located at the end of Lake Pend o Reille, and looks out over the lake and mountains. The personnel were extremely helpful and the breakfast in their restaurant was awesome, one of my favorites!

"Nice place for a family"
Erin R, 25 Avril 2016

The staff were very friendly. The indoor pool area is wonderful, newly remodeled. The restaurant has excellent food. The walls are a little thin, so you could hear your neighbors around you. Every room has a great view of the lake, right on the water.

"Good value for the $$"
Mark W, 23 Avril 2016

Third floor room near the north end was almost perfect, save for the ongoing hum and at times mild vibration from the mechanical plant associated with the pool, I think. Good linens and towels (a BW trademark). Decent Internet, although hotel less than half full. Rooms look out on to the City Beach -- terrific view but this is also where the creatures of the night show up: we had die Polizei check in on a woman strolling the beach at 2 am, which created a lot of action, and it's about 40 meters from the room. Still, good balconies. bathroom showing its age, and the water wasn't terrifically hot. Recommend third floor but further away from the enclosed pool down below. Excellent front desk service.

"Great Location"
James C, 29 Mars 2016

Second time staying here in 2 years and greatly enjoy the setting. Close to main straight while not being on it with the perfect setting of being on the beach with a breathtaking water lake view. Restaurant is very handy and enjoyable. Our room was excellent. Facility has been upgraded from a year ago with tasteful changes to the foyer.

"Meh"
MaggieTrudeau, 16 Mars 2016

I've stayed here in the past. The cost is much higher than smaller hotels within walking distance. The amenities are not worth the difference in cost, unless you really really really need that hot tub and treadmill. Personally, somewhere as beautiful as Sandpoint, I'll walk outside and have a look around. This hotel is also RIGHT on the railroad tracks for the amtrak train that blows through in the wee hours. If you're used to trains, no problem. If not, brace yourself. The water view rooms are nice, but again, you can go outside of pretty much any hotel, walk a little bit, and see the water. Much of the shoreline is still publically accessible. the cleanliness is good, but not spectacular. The amenities are nice, but not important to me personally.

"Great Service"
Patricia H, 16 Mars 2016

Great Service, excellent value and perfect location. This was a business trip to Sand Point, Idaho and we found the Best Western to be friendly, helpful and to have very comfortable rooms. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.

"Restful place"
Janette L, 12 Mars 2016

I appreciate the good service and comfort of the Sandpoint Best Western Edgewater Resort. My room, clean and comfortable, and well situated. Also, the restaurant was a pleasureful place to have both dinner and breakfast, with an excellent menu, service, and food. The view of the lake while I was dining added to the good ambiance. I look forward to a return trip with my family as soon as we can make plans.

"Okay hotel"
TucsonLover67, 10 Mars 2016

Dinner was awesome at the hotel - was disappointed that breakfast wasn't available until 7:30 - internet was slow - lighting in room was weird - HVAC was noisy - beautiful place though - I'd stay here again because of the beauty

"A Place at the Beach???"
Donnie A, 06 Mars 2016

Being from NC where the beach is just a short drive away, you don't expect to find a beach front hotel in Idaho, but we did. Our room was on the lower level where we had a small patio with a lush lawn leading down to a sandy beach. Room was nice and clean. Hotel staff were helpful and polite. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant it was great. I had the pancakes and bacon both were awesome.

"Awesome Views Super Clean"
Eric S, 02 Mars 2016

Beautiful views of the lake. Room was super clean. All the staff we encountered did their job and were friendly. I would stay here again. I look forward to eating at the restaurant next time, many people in town recommended it.

"Birthday getaway in Sandpoint"
Jane E, 28 Février 2016

We had a great time at the Edgewater in Sandpoint! When we checked in, our room had a very unattractive view of a crane so I called the front desk and the young lady was kind enough to find us another room and even upgraded us! The Trinity Grill is very nice and they also have an indoor pool area with pool, jacuzzi and a sauna. We can't wait to come back in the summer and enjoy walking out to the lake from you room! The hotel is within easy walking distance of many restaurants and shopping... all in all a fun getaway!

"Probably one of the best motels in area, but not as nice as Schweitzer Mountain Resort"
Carol W, 26 Février 2016

This Best Western is a good value (the winter prices, anyway, not sure about summer). It is getting old and is nothing fancy, but it was fine for a night or two. We were there in the winter on our way to Schweitzer where we ended up staying for an additional two nights, and the hotel there is much nicer, but of course it was more expensive. The Best Western is right next to the rail road, but the rooms face the opposite side of the tracks, and the hotel has an interior hallway to block the noise, so it did not bother us at all even though I am a very light sleeper. Bed was so-so. Room was clean. We did not eat in the restaurant. I did drive by the Quinta Inn, but it is right on the highway, and the Best Western is right on the lake, off the highway. In the summer, the Best Western would be ideal if you want to swim in the lake, etc. since you can run right outside from the downstairs rooms.

"Beautiful Setting"
rebasue1, 26 Février 2016

Stayed at this location during a business assignment so didn't get to explore the environment exstensively. Wished it had included a breakfast service. The adjacent restaurant is not as convenient noris the food spectacular. Rooms and hallways are very chilly. And stairs everywhere would present problems to visitors needing flat levels. Difficult to haul suitcases easily from car-room. But views are gorgeous; staff is very helpful. Not sure they offer goody bags or extra points per your loyalty level as I was offered neither!

"Wedding anniversary"
Harlow1978, 21 Février 2016

Hubby & I celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary were able to get away for just one night, so we chose Sandpoint for it's close proximity to us, & to be able to explore Lake Pend Oreille. The hotel was comfortable & clean, after hearing it was our anniversary the front desk gal upgraded our room to the bridal suite at no additional charge! Beautiful view! We had brought our boat with us & was able to dock it right at the hotel. I'd definately recommend.

"Wonderful location"
Erin R, 16 Février 2016

We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 kids under the age of 6 and had a great time. The breakfast at the restaurant was amazing and treated the kids well. The pool and spa area were newly renovated and the kids loved swimming in the indoor pool. The location was right on the shore with lake access right outside our room.

"Weekend getaway"
Dirk B, 24 Janvier 2016

Great place to stay, downtown is just a short walk away. Which is a plus your not staying right down in the busyness of town. The rooms have a nice lake view, they also have a nice restaurant and lounge over looking the beach and lake, however I don't think they are part of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Don't let the train tracks being close fool you, you can't hear the trains go by in your room. The building is older but pretty well maintained. They also have a nice pool and hot tub also with a lake view. Well worth the stay.

"Beautiful year round!!!"
verymuchadventurous, 12 Janvier 2016

All of the rooms look at the lake. Nice restaurant with outside seating. Waitstaff were great and very accomplished at service! Location is just perfect and they accommodate pets! Lovely king size bed!!!!

"Best Western"
Todd S, 06 Janvier 2016

For the price it is an average room that has been made to look as if it is high quality with average work done to the rooms and building. The stay was average, assistance was positive. Would probably consider staying again as the location is great.

"NOT RECOMMENDED"
William M, 30 Décembre 2015

Non-disclosure of full charges against credit card at check-in. I.E. $1,200 to secure $300. Was not informed by staff that my credit card was being charged before check-out, nor the amount being charged. The charges were left on the card and then the actual charges were added. Poor quality of beds; One bed was so poor could hardly sleep - stiff and sore every morning. Poor tv services - limited channel selection & no movies. Not a great place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy some down-time. Restaurant is very good and wait staff are excellent.

"A very Nice Place to Stay"
wdlander, 27 Décembre 2015

We have had multiple day stays here a number of times over the past five years, and we have always found the stay enjoyable.Perfectly located at the lake in central Sandpoint, it's a great jumping off point to visit the surrounding area.

"Great off season stay"
Diane_k_c854, 14 Décembre 2015

Really good deal, excellent location and fantastic restaurant. We were worried when we saw the train tracks out front and trains trundling by every 1/2 hour but once inside our room which no noise at all. All rooms face the lake and away from the tracks

"Couples getaway weekend"
Amy C, 16 Novembre 2015

Hotel room was clean and updated in style. The only flaw I found was the caulking on the tub had separated from the wall and looked fairly cheap compared to the rest of the nice furnishings in the bathroom. King bed was perfectly firm and we could barely hear the train passing nearby. Very peaceful stay. You really should open the restaurant earlier than 9:30 am for breakfast though! Would have loved to have tried your hotel restaurant fare but had to leave the hotel and have Starbucks save the morning for us.

"last stay at Edgewater Resort"
Elke C, 13 Novembre 2015

wonderful location close enough to go downtown and on the other side just in front of the great lake.Friendly, helpful staff. It's always a pleasure to stay at this Motel, especially in winter. The only issue I was missing was a breakfast.

"Wonderful Stay"
Kaitlin M, 10 Novembre 2015

The location of this hotel is slightly hard to get to, but once you find your way there, it is beautiful. We stayed for business in November, after the lake level was lowered, but it was still beautiful waterfront views. The grounds are beautiful. The only comment I have is we wished that the hotel restaurant was open earlier for breakfast or a continental breakfast was offered. We had to leave the hotel by 7am and the restaurant was not open. So we had to find a place in town, but it was on the reccomendation of the front desk attendent, and it was delicious. Thanks for maying my business trip such a pleasure.

"new empty nester couple"

We were checked in quickly. Got a great room with a king size bed, jet tub, and door to lake. Service was friendly and helpfull. We were very happy with our stay. they didn't have a continental breakfast but had a great resturant attached to the hotel.

Beautiful view and a great location. Hotel is clean with great service. Great location to downtown restaurant and shops. Excellent running and biking trails right out your door that takes you along the lake. Within minutes to Schweitzer ski area which is an Outstanding mountain!

Kimberly P, 05 Novembre 2015

My family and I stayed about a week at the r.v. park for the 4th. The water, fireworks, and customer service was great! We reserved a spot to go back next 4th of July. The town was fun to explore and the walking trails were great.

"Will not return"
Jody M, 28 Octobre 2015

On October 10, 2015 my wife and I checked into the Best Western Edgewater Resort in Sand Point, Idaho. We were supposed to stay 3 nights but after having unpleasant things go wrong we left a day early. The toilet overflowed 3 times, the sink would not drain and the bathroom fan would not work. When we checked out we gave the list of the problems to the desk clerk and he indicated that they get lists like this all the time, but the owners will not put any money into the hotel since in 5+ years they will be tearing this down and building a new one. Needless to say we will not return. Robert L Morris Harley_001@msn.com

"Hotel and Lounge that is a+"
Gregory B, 26 Octobre 2015

The food a this hotel is wonderful. For breakfast their bacon is baked, not fried with brown sugar. Pancakes were made with orange and vanilla flavoring. So different and so yummy. Dinner Mahi Mahi with pasta in a tomato/vodka sauce. It was amazingly perfect and a large portion.

"Very Pleasant"
Randall S, 23 Octobre 2015

Wonderful surprise in a small town. Room overlooked the water. Hot Tub was perfect. Food excellent. Within walking distance of town, easy access to recreational trails. Off season price very reasonable. Can't wait to return.

"Nice view- but no breakfast"
dkconley, 17 Octobre 2015

The room had a great view, but it was hard for us to get there. My husband uses a cane and stairs are hard for him. No elevator and we were on the third level. Also no breakfast offered. One of the few BW without.

Cl H, 10 Octobre 2015

great location. able to walk to everything in town. Located on the water made for a quiet stay. It is also located by a great city park. Staff was friendly. I would stay there again. starbucks up the road.

"Sandpoint Best Western"
Dennis K, 05 Octobre 2015

The hotel needs a redo. The room was old, dirty and not up to Best Western Standards. I would not recommend this facility. I would give it one star in the AAA book. There is nothing more I can add. Blah, blah blah. I need to make this 200 characters to satisfy this review. What else can I say?

"Comfortable and convenient"
PAPALANI, 04 Octobre 2015

Clean rooms, right on the lakefront, professional and competent staff, great food. Located so you can walk the local lakefront beach park. Nearby train tracks will be noisy for some, but a soothing sound for us. Overall a perfect establishment.

"Nice place, nice people, nice view"
spunkymoose, 30 Septembre 2015

We spent two nights at the BW Edgewater Resort. It is a comfortable, friendly hotel on the edge of town in Sandpoint. The rooms have views of the lake, marina and park. It is only a few minutes walk to everything in the small town of Sandpoint, with the benefit of the lakefront on your doorstep. The room was comfortable. The restaurant, run by a different company, was also very good.

"Quality by the Lake"
Mary C, 25 Septembre 2015

Just spent my second visit to this delightful hotel on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and accommodating. We made reservations for our next trip before we left. Love this place.

"A Beautiful View of Lake Pend Oreille From a Very Nice Room"
chinaclipper1, 23 Septembre 2015

We stayed 3 nights at this Best Western property and were not disappointed. Our room had a balcony which looked out over a large green grass lawn, a marina full of sailboats and a stupendous view of this large lake with very large hills on the distant shore. This place reminded us of Lake Nahuel Huapi, a huge mountain-ringed lake adjacent to San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina. Absolutely beautiful. This property is smack on the City Beach public area and is actively used by swimmers, bird watchers, boaters, sailors and picnic-ers. It is in walking distance of several very nice restaurants, coffee houses and shops. It is right next to the restored historic train station (un-manned) which is the only Amtrak station in Idaho. There is lots of train traffic, but the hotel is well insulated and you cannot hear the frequent large freight trains going by close to the front of the property. There is plenty of parking available and the staff was very helpful (they are in the process of mailing me my electric shaver which I left there). The on-property restaurant, The Trinity, serves excellent food with knowledgeable staff delivering good service. the first night there I ordered a New York Strip steak, medium rare, and it was perfectly prepared and absolutely wonderful. I lament the many Kansas City and New York strips I have ordered over the years which turned out to be tired, poor quality sirloins, but this one was right! Lake Pend Oreille is pronounced "ponda-ray".
