Best Western Seven Seas

My husband travels for work, so we have acquired many Best Western hotel points. This was our first trip to San Diego, actually to California. My husband was going to take a two night fishing trip, so the location that I was going to be alone, during that time was very important. I looked at all the hotels in San Diego, since we have points for many different chains. I chose this area due to the distance to public transit, Old Town, and the interstate. The fact that there is a top notch mall within a two minute drive, was a big selling point for me. I was thrilled with my choice. The hotel was obviously built in the 60s or 70s. Personally I loved the charm of the mid century modern architecture. The fact that it has been there so long, the landscape, flowers and trees were beautifully matured. It is surrounded by awesome views of the mountains. There was a hiking trail that could be entered just a few minutes drive away. I didn't get to enjoy it, but I saw some people walking on the trail. The hotel has a restaurant which is open for breakfast and dinner. Although we didn't go there, the chef let my husband store his fish in the freezer until we had leave for our flight. The rooms were dated, but they were clean, large and had everything that you could need. We were lucky enough to get a corner room with a balcony with an amazing view of the mountains. The pool was large and heated. I suggest finding the circular hot tub in the center of the property for a nice relaxing evening. Overall I was impressed with this hotel that seems ordinary, but was extraordinary. The employees were very helpful. And although I said that it was an outdated property, there were several maintenance workers inside the onsite workshop. I appreciate that they didn't hire a company to bring in for a complete remodel, but instead had tradesmen that work there on a regular basis. Everyone was super friendly and seemed to care about the property.

We enjoyed our stay in San Diego. The room was comfortable and clean. located near attractions, with easy freeway access. The bed was comfortable as well. The parking was near your room. The grounds are well maintained.

I was staying at Best Western Seven Seas Hotel for attending the SPIE Medical Imaging Conference 2024 at a nearby location. The service was prompt and the stay went smoothly. The location and the ambience was good. The expenses were reasonable.

I have stayed here before and I have returned. Located in Mission Valley on Hotel Circle, I love the closeness to everything I need like Hillcrest, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and minutes away from beaches and Sea World. Nice clean comfortable rooms and me being 6'4" the long bed is a plus. If you visit here and if you go to the hidden away little bar, I hope you get served by Betz. She is by far one of the best bartenders I've ever experienced with her sparkling personality and she's very very efficient. She can whip up anything you want. Betz is the best!!! 7 Seas isn't fancy but a hidden gem.

Not what I expected, Felt very uncomfortable and unsafe don't recommend for family's. Came out to a guy in front building across from our room urinating between the cars also people working on their cars in the parking lot had to transfer to another place after the 5 nights I stayed due to the floods here in San Diego

We stayed here for two nights, the first night the door next to us starting slamming after 7 pm and continued until maybe 3am, lots of laughing, the second night it didn't start until about 1am and continued for a few hours. This would have been annoying in any motel, but this is an older property so the door seems to slam very loud and the floor shakes. When there aren't jerks next door this is a nice property. There is no breakfast included. There are probably better value motels nearby. Since the people in the room next to us did not allow for much sleep I have to rate the value very low. There laughs and slamming door made me think of drug dealers, but they could have just been jerks but it sure seemed like lots of people were coming and going.

Needed a local hotel that was clean, had free parking, and good food. No frills needed for me, although they do have a pool and hot tub. This hotel fit the bill. My apartment bathroom was being refurbished, so I needed a couple of nites away. I chose this hotel as it was reasonably priced, had free parking and not far from my home. It was excellent. Not a fancy place but clean and neat. Staff extremely pleasant and the chef served excellent food. Their fried chicken dinner was delish. Definitely would recommend it.

Seems hotel has gone down hill Not a good nights sleep. Loud and inconsiderate guests Seen several looking hookers walking around the rooms. Rooms are clean, showers are not very warm. Willing to give the hotel a second chance

First 2 nights with my family in a "double room" we're not the same as my last 6 nights by myself in a "single room" bait-and-switch was pulled on me. The single room had no remote control upon check-in, movie channels had no signal and wouldn't play. Friday night had a motorcycle club Chek in and felt they needed to be as loud as they could

The entire room was moist from the walls, the bed to the floor, the room rid of roaches. You could smell them as you enter. The roaches are crawling on the walls. The bathroom had never been cleaned even after previous guest had checked out. There was still soap and dirt residue in the tub.So they never cleaned. Roaches crawling on walls and bed. The floors and carpet was so nasty you can see the dirt and maybe mold residue. The tables and walls were disgusting. Hair stuck on walls - in tub and on beds. The room hadn't been cleaned since the hotel opened . In my opinion considering I work for a large hotel chain. I could not stay in room due to smell of roaches and the moist environment. I spent 100.00 to sleep in my car- as my baby girl had already fallen to sleep! Just a big waste of money Them rooms are only worth 29.00 and they charged me 100.00 highly unacceptable to be treating people like this, and taking their money, knowing the hotel is a dive

We received a corner balcony room, and it was amazing! It was nice to go out to the balcony and enjoy the nice weather. Also, the room was immaculate. The housekeeping does an amazing job at keeping it all sparkling clean. We are frequent travelers, and this is the cleanest/most budget friendly hotel we have stayed at. Parking is also included and there is no upcharge. There is plenty of parking options. Along with a pool, fitness center and a restaurant that appears to be really good.

The price did not reflect the actual charges, although this could have been due to a per person billing. Hotel café food and host was exceptional. He should manage the hotel. They should've taken note of my check out time and provided a wake up call and/or cab service to the airport. I highly recommend that the cafe host manage the hotel. The desk attendant needed to place a sign on the locked door when she went to the bathroom.

Worst Best Western I've ever been to the rooms are not very clean. I'd just say go elsewhere but if you are staying take your own sheets. Very over priced for what you're getting I don't even know if food was offered no one would tell us anything about the restaurant don't even know if it was open employee's don't care there just there for a paycheck.

Good service, good food, easy parking, nothing extravagant. Pool and Spa were well maintained. No coin machine in laundry. Cafe had an excellent cook that was fast and good. Service at bar was excellent and appreciated

This is one of the worst BW , old pillows that should have been thrown out long ago, the a_c didn't work right, the pipes made an awful noise while showering. For being in SD you would expect better accommodations for the price your paying.

The room was small and dirty We are family of 3 and so crowded with double bed room no where for luggage We moved tv to use dresser for luggage No microwaves not even in lobby The rugs were dirty that our feet and socks were filthy after walking around The air filters in a/c never changed and dirty inside vents Bathroom door didn't shut with vent rattling and squeaking Never leaving 3 sets of towels and 3 soaps despite paying for 3 people at almost $170 per night ! Not worth the price and not up to best western standards ! Staff is useless because they won't solve any issues Not staying here anymore despite have been staying yearly for many years

Hotel was very nice. The Hotel was very close to everything because it was next to a major freeway. The carpets were very dirty. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of car parking. Nice large property.

The resturant here is amazing! The resturant manager is of the finest people I have ever met! Give great service snd the best fish snd chips I have had in years! Thank you seven seas and manager friend !

This hotel is in a good location in the heart of San Diego. The hotel seems to be an older hotel, the rooms are small, the beds were clean but I got a lopsided bed‼️I was so tired tho I really didn't care. Not overly priced so that was good, the room could have been cleaned better‼️

Stayed for 5 days, and room is smelly moldy and dirty. They don't have a complimentary breakfast like any other Best Western i have stayed. I'll rate zero if I can, believe me when I say don't go to this place, it's like booking to a 1 star hotel.youll be disappointed.

Bad customer service and don't care customer problems and mostly race plays major factor and never suggest anybody comeback here again. Poor customer service they don't care and not friendly at all I will avoid it

They are surrounded by competition but don't act like it. They offer very little in the way of service. Probably the only BW I have stayed at in the last 10 years with no breakfast. Also, the staff at check-in did not seem to care if this was your 1st stay at a BW or your hundredth.

The lack of cleanliness is just the start. The rooms smelt like mold and mildew, there was no hot water with no mater pressure. The heater/AC did not work and made awful noises, on top of the constant fighting from the room below us. The staff did nothing to address this and did not care when we checked out a day early due to all the issues we experienced.

Location was good for what we needed. Never really encountered traffic and what we needed was close. They allowed us to check in 3 hours early which was nice. Breakfast at cafe was good but not worth the price they charge. I wasn't able to take a hot shower once neither was the room next to me. Water was consistently lukewarm if you even want to call it that. Spend the money on a better hotel for a hot shower and a free breakfast!

I travel for my job. I stay at a lot of hotels. But this one was a doozy. My family and I drove from Oklahoma to stay a few nights In San Diego. We were not told until after we paid that the entire hotel did not have hot water. Then I find out that they over charges me by 76 dollars. When I ask them about it. They apologized and said they would send it back to my card. It could take up to 10 business days. Then later that night around 9 pm, we have a couple walk into our room. After contacting the front desk. They told us that in their system, we had switched rooms. And that our room had been cleaned and ready for a check in. We were never notified about switching rooms. Nor had we switched rooms. They gave me the operations managers card with his number on there. I have left voicemails for him to please call me back. No call backs yet.

Avoid this hotel. When we planned on staying here, we expected they would have hot water. We came on Thursday and they said they had a company working on it. However, Friday morning there was no hot water. Some other guests had been there two nights with no hot water. When we checked in, the management didn't tell anyone they had no hot water in the entire facility. We moved down to The Atwoods Hotel and they had plenty of hot water and was half the cost of the Seven Seas. This site is not up to the Best Western standards.

We were surprised to encounter the forested, hilly surroundings of the Seven Seas. We were also very pleased to get both nights (a week apart) in ground-floor rooms, opening onto the parking area. I am not compatible with stairs (with heavy luggage) and this was a real treat. The whole area seemed dead quiet, also, surprising so close to the freeway and the city....

My review of Best Western Seven Seas in San Diego Hotel Circle Area is that it is more than adequate for a place to stay. It has a restaurant adjacent to the lobby if you want to eat in or have room service delivery. Room is clean, internet is adequate, A/C is quiet, and the bed is firm. My only issue was that there was a smoker in the outdoor hallway area and the smoke would travel into my room.

I am local (Live in San Diego County) and traveling around to use local Best Westerns, so I have been to quite many BWs around. I rarely rate 1 star but I need to rate 1 for this one. The location is great, close to Freeway entrance, and free parking which is helpful. For this BW, there is no Breakfast (even though website mentions they have) and there is no free Coffee available (that hurt me since I am a coffee drinker….) It must be that they have the Restaurant on site and they just expect hotel guests to use that place and pay, which is understandable. 1st, there were lots of “Roaches” in a room. Roaches were running around the walls, and I had to see many crawling inside my trash, especially overnight. Also there were small flies (Fruit fly kind of?) all over. They were in a bathroom, in my towels, and carpet, and beds. I called the front desk on second day and asked if they had bug spray I could use. Spray did not help. The other reason I chose this BW was that they had Fitness Center. I am a super early riser and wanted to use the place early in the morning. Fitness center hr is listed “From 8 am to 9:30am”. I wanted to make sure so I called before 8 am in the morning and I was informed that it was open. In order to get into Fitness center, I had to go through pool area, and pool gate was locked. I told them that the gate was locked and asked them to open. I went back at least 10 times, called the front desk 3 times (?) and asked them to let me know when the gate was open since I was tired of going back to the gate over and over. It took 2 hrs. nobody did anything, and nobody called me back and I was more than upset. I checked the hotel room price this morning from other website and it was listed 40 dollars LESS than what I paid for. I did not pay much for this BW but still the prices I paid were NOT even worth. There were a lot of stray Cats on the premises for some reason? I love cats so I did not mind. They had two hot tubs in different locations and I thought that was nice, however, again, the gate was NOT open as the listed “operating hours”. For that reason (I wanted to use Fitness center and Hot tub in the morning before I checked out), I had to change my entire morning plan for that day, it was disappointing.

The room was very clean. It was a nice surprise that housekeeping came every day of our 4 day stay. It was very quiet. It was very close to Old Town, Sea World and the Fashion Mall. Highly recommend it for families.

The staff had no issue helping me when the business center was out of service. The pool was outside my room but was closed at a decent enough hour that the noise didn't keep me up. The stay was what I needed to close out my summer.

Starting with Jose Lack of customer service at the front desk. Horrible Seward smell, mold and water dripping in lobbies area , room walls hallway, dirty carpet, big gap at the room door... imagine anything rodent roaches come in. Smoke humidity smell room .

Rooms were filthy. My baby crawled for 5 minutes and his hands and feet were filthy. When I went to change rooms I walked past 4 stray cats in a 30 second walk. Definitely recommend the Island Palms Best Western over this location! Don't make the same mistake. Service was quick to accommodate. Not entirely their fault.

The hotel is conveniently located in Hotel Circle San Diego. The rooms were clean however, very outdated and the towels were small and thin. Our room had a cigarette-mildew scent (non-smoking). The staff was friendly, although there was a shortage on help.

It was horrible I can't even explain SO HORRIBLE There was a hole in the wall and when my toddler was sleeping there were bugs crawling on him. The A/C system just was not working and even though they came out they just said it was fine but it was blowing out hot air on cold. The bartender wouldn't make me the one drink I wanted to enjoy by the pool unless I gave her a big tip what Bartender tells you no and asks for a tip before hand.

Rude front desk, would not check you in a little early, made you wait till 4, then lobby was filled to capacity. Pool at capacity with kids. Room smelled of mold. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Water leaking from roof at entrances, green slime there too so it has been doing that for a while. Booked on Best Western site but Priceline was way cheaper, Best Western would not honor the rate difference because 48hr rule…People yelling and fighting at midnight.

Killed a roach the first night. We had called the night before we got there and asked to upgrade to 2 Queen beds from 2 Double beds. We were told that would be no problem and when I inquired as to what the extra cost would be, I was told there would be no extra cost. Wow! I was impressed…until we got there. There were no notes on our account and they supposedly were sold out of Queen beds. I was told to call back on the second morning of our stay. We killed a roach that first night. Called the front desk the next morning—no Queen beds to move us to that day, either. Seemed totally unsurprised by our extra unwanted guest—the roach. Would not stay there again.

Horrible room expensive plus no free breakfast, the place needs to be updated. The hot tub was not working the pool as not heated.i bad experience overall. Not what u should expect from a best western

Coming from Connecticut been to San Diego 20+ times stayed at several hotels my last 10 times at the best Western seven seas and it has been great awesome employees great amenities great service great rooms great price great location

This hotel is in a central location. Staff is pleasant enough but gives an air of just doing a job - no friendly greeting, no description of the property or where anything other than your room is located, no offer to be of service. And no attention to whatever note you put in the reservation. We were a party of 4. There were 3 bath towels. We called front desk for another bath towel. They said they'd send one. Never did. We just used a beach towel instead. Woke up to water pouring in from above at 7:30a - immediately called front desk - same unhelpful tone: "ok, we'll have maintenance look when they get here". No offer for alternate accommodations. Nothing. We evacuated and immediately went to another hotel for the day so we could rest and shower before our departure late that afternoon/evening. So, the place is in a central location. Was clean enough, but we arrived to the refrigerator wide open and a musty smell and after the flooding incident, we noticed both stained carpet and a stained ceiling so this wasn't the first water issue. We'd never stay here again. Just too many other better choices.

I am a Best Western Gold Crown member. No they did not greet me as such or acknowledge this. I have stayed at the Seven Seas before, and they had microwaves. Now they don't and use "covid" as a excuse?! I call BS. Its cheap. The stairs in building 200 are downright dangerous, they are large open spaced and crooked!! Have to be super careful walking down them and especially if you are carrying luggage. The bed is hard, uncomfortable. The Ac unit is super old and worn out. The room was tiny and so was the mini fridge. Not a good place to stay for business.

I would not recommend this hotel. Stayed here for move-in weekend at SDSU and chose this hotel based on location. Upon check-in we noticed that the carpet was damp in our entire room and the room smelled of mildew. I called to report this but was told there were no other rooms available. It was disgusting and so bothersome to have a wet floor. Very unsanitary as well.

The one maintenance man was the only positive about this stay. AC didn't work, light switches were confusing, internet was shoddy and not worth the price. Bring your own pillow! It was in Hotel Circle so it was close to other great hotel food options.

For two years we have been waiting for our family trip to San Diego. We planned for months and looked at hundreds of rooms before deciding on the Best Western 7 Seas. A big reason we chose this motel is because of the quality we have come to appreciate and enjoy from previous Best Westerns. Unfortunately this motel was not as great as we had hoped it would be, and certainly not up to Best Western standards. There were some positives to it. One out of the three rooms our family booked was decent. One member had an end room with a patio, that was great. A little dated, but the room was spacious, with great AC. Making their stay comfortable. The property itself is beautiful! The pool is great. The rooms were clean. The restaurant has THE BEST food, and our server was amazing! If the front desk receptionists were trained by whoever the gentleman was who was serving us, this motel would be 1,000 times better! He knew how to treat guests right! Although we didn't use maid service during our stay we did chat with them outside of the room to get towels and more coffee. They were very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the cons outweighed the positives. We spent several days at this motel. While checking in the receptionist verified, by asking me, if we had booked 2 queens. I confirmed that I had. In fact, I had specifically paid a higher rate for 2 queens. Upon entering the room we discovered our room had two double beds. I called the front desk and alerted them to the problem and asked if we could switch rooms. The response was “we have queens available but on our side it shows you booked 2 doubles, so you can't switch rooms and will have to contact the party you booked through”. I stated that my reservation was confirmed for 2 queens during check in. Again, she said that since I booked through a third party, and their side showed 2 doubles, there was nothing she could do. All the paper work showed 2 queens! The next problem we quickly discovered was an extremely poorly working air conditioner in the room. Although we had the AC on the coolest setting the room never cooled down. We were sweating our entire stay and were VERY uncomfortable. I suspect many had this problem, since multiple people kept their doors open all night long. Our other family members room also had poor AC, but it wasn't as severe as ours, just a bit uncomfortable. All of our key cards stopped working at various times as well. The last issue was discovered upon checkout. We were charged $2.50 for a bottle of water that we never used. We had no need to, as we had an entire cooler of water. Both bottles of water were still unopened in our room. The receptionist stated that “they said one of the bottles had been drank”. I'm not sure who “they” were, considering the fact that we did not have our room serviced the entire time we were there. It was a flat out lie, but I was too tired to argue with them over $2.50. If we had been given the room that we paid for, and if it had functioning AC, and if we weren't charged for water that we didn't use, I would have given this motel 4 or 5 stars. It's dated, yes, but there are some nice things about it, and it could be so much better with decent AC and a huge amount of much needed customer service training for the front desk. As I said though, the cons far outweighed the positives and we did not enjoy our room AT ALL. We were on vacation for 6 days, stayed in 3 different hotels, and these were the most expensive and lowest quality rooms & customer service that we experienced out of the three hotels. While I would absolutely love to return to the restaurant if we come to San Diego again, I would choose a different place to stay. This was the quality and customer service that I would expect from a $60 room. Which isn't anywhere close to what we paid.

The room was very dated, and noise from the adjoining room was terrible. We also had ants in our room, that crawled on us when using the bathroom. No complimentary breakfast as is customary for Best Western. We won't pick this location again

Charged way too much for the quality of the room. So many things in the room needed to be cleaned better, tightened, replaced, etc. It reminded me of the crappy apartments I used to have to rent in undergrad where the doors did not shut just right and the shower fixtures did not turn just right and nothing was quite clean. The difference is a whole month rent in that apartment was equal to 2 nights at this place. Also, still stuck in Covid theater by taping off half the lobby.

There has been a extra charge as I did an early checkout. This is one of the BW which does not have a breakfast included Also, I had very unpleasant experience at the stay at your hotel because the shower curtain was unclean and the splash of water from shower was blocking the drainage at all times. We were 4 and this was the worst experience at best western. I always prefer BE but after this experience, I will have to think twice before booking. Please let me know what arrangements you could do. Thank you!

The stay was great. There was a quick and easy check in process the rooms were well kept and the amenities on site were awesome they have a gym 2 spas a pool and even a restaurant on site less than a 10 minute drive to Sea World. Will definitely book here again.

The only good thing about the Best Western Seven Seas is the location and the pool. Checked in at 8 pm and asked for 2 rooms close together. I was asked who I booked through. I told them Priceline, and from that point on the service went down hill. I was told that they were full and could only give one room on one side of the building and the other on the other side of the building. Asked for a room on the ground floor, because there is no elevator. Had to lug a large suitcase up 2 flights of stairs. While I was waiting for my daughter to get into her room, 2 guests came and checked in a ground floor room close to this one. (Was told earlier that no ground floor rooms were available) Went to my room and it smelled awful. The mini fridge had mildew and a strong smell. There was a spider web on the bed with a spider crawling on it. I called the front desk and told them. They said they would switch my room. (Supposedly they were full) I checked Priceline and there were rooms available. The next room I had was in another building even further away. So I recommend either you stay away from this hotel unless you book directly with them. You may still have issues since the customer service is so bad. If you book through another booking agency, you will be treated like a second class person. I told the desk clerk I was very unhappy and wanted to speak to a manager. Was told that the manager would be in in the morning. What good will that do?

The rooms are very outdated and can compare to a motel 6 but it is located in a great area. If you are looking for a cheap hotel near san diego's tourist spot you are in the right location. There are many hotels right next to the best western. Fast food restaurants are 1.5 miles away and hot tourist spots such as old san diego and little italy are less than a 10mile drive. I guess that's the convenience of it. The receptionist are very kind and helpful.

Hi. I actually just stayed here last November. Yes, it is older. The rooms are dated. But it is fine for a one- or two-night stay. I personally think this hotel gets too much criticism. But if you want a relatively inexpensive place, then this is it. The reason for the four stars is that the hotel rooms by the pool are a little noisy. So, if you are planning to stay here, I would suggest a room in the middle, or the back. You may have a little walk, but at least it will be quieter. That is my only negative. Anyway, cut the staff some slack. They are maybe just a little overwhelmed. But they are friendly.

We loved our time here. Was safe, Quiet, Pleasant! Older Motel but their staff works overtime to accommodate you. Would go back year after Year! Excellent Choice for a Single mom and her children. Good Value, Guests from other hotel's tried to check in to improve their situation and they were booked solid. Plan in advance!!

Our stay was just okay. The property itself is quaint! The rooms are small, which is fine. The staff were not particularly friendly. The check in line was out the door and the staff were not particularly friendly. I usually avoid being harsh against staff because they certainly take a lot of unneeded abuse for thigns they cant control and lets face it for not the best pay in the world. They have a tough job. Anyway, the staff here did seem not so happy. Maybe it was just a bad day for them. The hotel had some weirdos too. The guy down hall basically stood outside smoking pot on the balcony non-stop. When we walked by he had soooooo much pot on display. I mean I am talking illegal amounts beyond 28.5 grams. So, this was super trashy. I am totally fine with small amounts of marijuana, go for it… but this guy was way too much and the smoke was annoying.

Wash basin stopper is faulty and water cannot drain No breakfast provided Room is old Went for coin operated laundry. There is a sign which state "Change coin as reception". But when Ig o to reception, they told me they do not change coin

place is a joke, no one has a clue, nobody answers the phone! But hey the person charging cards is good!! They are charging me two weeks later for days I wasn't even there. And this after they charged me for our stay? Now again I have been trying for 4 days and phone just rings and then hangs up after 15 rings. Would not recommend more of headache then anything.

I used to love staying at this hotel. This trip we just wanted to lounge around the pool all day with our grand daughter. There pool area is very attractive with tropical plants and shade all around. However, the restaurant and bar were both closed between breakfast and dinner. We were unable to order the usual food for lunch or drinks from the bar. Nothing open until 4:30 pm so this was exceedingly disappointing considering it's now high season.

This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at!!!Please go to trip advisor before booking & c reviews!!!Rooms do not look like anything on website !!This should not be under a Best Western!!! The room they put us in was not ready no working phone or Tv carpet was filthy chair was all torn up with foam coming out of it beds were terrible!! I had 2 drive 2 the front desk twice 2 try & get a response!!!! When they finally moved us at least an hour later we had 2 load back up & unload again at second room!!!The bathroom door in that room squeaked so bad it woke everyone up at night when we went to bathroom !!! Would it have been an inconvenience 2 use some WD40 on it????This place. Ruined my trip...Do not stay there if u want 2 rest & get a good nights sleep!!!!!

One of the Front desk persons went to ‘conveniently' take care of something in the back when I came in to get laundry soap. Will look for another hotel in the morning for the rest of my stay in San Diego. While Another agent helped us, I'm dissatisfied by the behavior of the first attendant and unlikely to book here again.

Best western has cultivated a level of consistency I have come to respect over the years. I'm not saying this or any BW is a 5 star hotel, nor am I expecting that, but they definitely fill a need in the market. More upscale than run of the mill motel but not a JW Marriott for example. I know this. However, this location still falls short of that level in my opinion. A free continental breakfast and access to a microwave in the common area are advertised on their site but no such amenities are provided. I don't mind them not being their but if you know you do not provide the service, update your site. Some people plan trips around the idea of saving money on one meal a day while on vacation. Additionally the room I received, although extremely clean to the touch, had a musty, stale smell. Even after leaving the window open for days it persisted. The hotel is rather large so it might be that the room wasn't used for some time, but even so they should be aired out prior to a guest checking in.

Worked out perfect to have a place a little off the beaten path, still had all the palm trees & Cali vibes! Only 10 minutes from hot spots and good eats. The hot tub was hot and the staff was kind. Rooms were clean and comfortable!

This was a very stay, as was only there for about 5 hours. Property is definitely older and in need of a renovation. Efforts are made to keep the grounds clean and etc. Staff are friendly. Not sure if I will stay again as many choices in the area. Hotel is a good value if that is what you are looking for. Front desk staff were polite.

We have stayed at other Bestwesterns and this place really disappointed. The room was run down and musty. We killed 2 cockroaches. The bathroom door was rotting off its hinges and would not close properly. Wifi was spotty. However it was free to be fair. Upon checkout we notified the front desk about the cockroaches. And the response was "i will tell the manager". No concern or apology.

This hotel was perfect for a business trip. It is an older property, so the rooms do show some wear, but everything was clean and worked properly. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was great with good water pressure & lots of hot water. The restaurant and bar were both excellent. The food is very good and the service was great. The outdoor hot tub was exactly what the doctor ordered after a long day.

We came from out of state so only saw limited pictures online. Seeing it in person told me to never stay here again. On first sight I realized this is a 2 story motel, not a hotel! We truly are not picky people but this was below even a middle-class person's expectations. We visited friends who also came from out of state and found out they paid only $15 more per night for a much larger HOTEL room, had a view of a bay, had a beach within close walking distance (immediately across the street), and had a PRIVATE balcony. Their hotel was also located in San Diego but in a different area. The ice and pop machines at the Seven Seas motel were in a different open building. The pop machine was empty (for both days we were there) so we needed to go a store to get a can/bottle. However this motel is located right next to a large highway and there were no stores, convenience or otherwise. There is no elevator so if you are on the second floor you need to haul luggage up 17 stairs. The toilet did not flush unless we held down the flusher for approximately 20 seconds. Our TV did not work so we called the front desk for maintenance 3 different times, in a 7 hour period, but no one came. The walls and paint were chipped in many areas. I give this motel a poor rating when comparing it to places to stay that are at a lower price range and it doesn't compare in quality to other places to stay within the same approximate price range.

When we first walked in, the room smelled like marijuana. We had to spray my body spray to cover up the smell. The bathtub still had a wad of hair in it from the previous guests and was visibly dirty. The doors and walls were dirty. The light in the closet and the remote control didn't work. The bed had a musty smell that followed us home. The walls were super thin and we could hear the people upstairs loudly doing karaoke at midnight. We thought we could trust the Best Western name but this hotel was a major disappointment.

This hotel is expensively tucked in a corner with its robust landscaping full of greenery, it really makes you feel like you're on a tropical vacation and is breath taking.The cleanliness of this location goes above and beyond expectation. I always extend my stay by one day because I really hate to leave.

Some front desk attendants were rude. The refrigerator was not working initially. Sometimes, the room entry key was not working. Reservation bill was also not accurate and charged me more. I had to face hassle to fix the reservation amount. Initially, there was no blanket in the bed and I had to ask for it.

Severely understaffed. Restaurant food was good, our waitress did the best she could given she had little to no help. Had to go pick up our our toilet paper from the lobby because we were told there was no one available to bring it to us. The last night we were all woken up in the middle of the night (like 2am) by a screaming man who was hitting cars and shooting. The police were called and resolved the issue eventually, but never had we felt to unsafe in a hotel before. No once did anyone from the hotel apologize for the incident or even mention it as we checked out which was very unprofessional. At the very least we should've been compensated for that night. We will definitely not be returning to this hotel.

Hotel layout confusing, wasn't given any direction as to how to find my room, had to finally ask Housekeeping for assistance. Room was dated and old, it didn't feel clean, I actually dreaded returning to it and never unpacked. Restaurant flyers (not belonging to the restaurant on site) were shoved through the door when I was in my room, unnerving at times. On a positive, I had breakfast and takeout dinner from the restaurant and the service and food both times were excellent. At checkout I asked if my 2 gift cards had been applied to my invoice, they said they would be, and the final invoice would be sent to my email. I'm still waiting for the invoice a day later, whereas any other hotel would have emailed it to me by now, if not within an hour of checkout!

I was a little nervous about staying at this best western because I knew it was an older hotel. However, it was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The bed is comfortable and the bedding was new and clean. The parking was free and the area was safe. I would definitely recommend it.

Our room was decent, other than the stuff splattered on the ceiling and the torn wall paper it was clean. The a/c did not work, thankfully it wasn't too hot that weekend. And I was shocked when I found out there's no microwave in the room or anywhere in the hotel period. Staff was always kind.

The only reason I give it two stars is to acknowledge the presence and friendliness of the front desk staff. Beyond that...the room was terrible. There was only one very thin blanket on each bed and the room heater did not work. We ended up putting on extra clothes to stay warm. The shower had lukewarm water for about 5 minutes, then it all turned cold. The lock on the door seemed flimsy - we piled suitcases in front of it. So glad it was only for one night and will absolutely not go back.

Based on some of the website reviews and the photographs, this place seemed like a good choice. Unfortunately it was a letdown. Very few amenities, poor signage, poorly maintained, and in need of a really good clean. For the price we paid, we were certainly entitled to expect a whole lot more.

Nice older hotel rooms could use a little updating but for the price and area it's fine. No free breakfast and only the 2 cups of coffee in room otherwise $4 per cup at restaurant. Very convenient for anyone needing to go to UCSD hospital as there is a road that takes you right up the hill next door

So small but a decent stay. They have a restaurant right in the premises. Almost all the attractions in San Diego, La Jolla are in close proximity.plenty of food options nearby as well. One thing which can be improved is when it rains( it rained during our stay), there is puddles of water right in front of most of the rooms.

Bugs in room, bath tub didn't plug up, USB ports didnt work. Air conditioning unit was missing buttons so only cool air came out. And white socks turned black after just a night of walking on the carpet.

The first night was the worst! I woke up at 6am and I was cover with bed bug. Over 100 bites. I will never stay hear again. Room 103 is infested with bed bugs... No compensation for the matter. Not even we are sorry for the inconvenience.. I'm still covered with 100 bite marks from Best Western Seven Seas San Diego, California,... The worst ever...

We stayed at this hotel and was extremely please. Rooms were clean, comfortable, & convenient. Staff was amazing and we were well pleased. Location was ideal for all our travel plans. We would recommend !!

Nice people at check-in. Room was clean and there was no freeway noise. Very pretty landscaping giving the property "island" feel. Would stay here again. Good access to downtown, zoo, I-8 east and west.

We arrived with 11 people after booking our hotel stay weeks before our arrival. The hotel was not sold out at the time of booking and we booked 3 double bed rooms. Upon arrival, we were told we had been moved to King beds, with no pull out options! The response from the manager was there was nothing they could do for us, they had oversold. We booked through Fed Rooms at a rate of $79. There only offer to our party was the King room and told to sleep our party on the floor. This was not going to accommodate the 9 adults that needed a bed. I asked why we were not contacted prior to this decision being made for us and he had no answer other than they oversold. Who determines who gets moved? I asked what they were going to do to help us move or cover the costs of paying for what was now a sold out weekend due to the marathon in town...his answer was "nothing". We spent an hour and a half outside at 7pm desperately searching for a place to stay. We had to pay double the cost with no help from the manager, other than his suggestion on a post it note of "The pleasant inn. As a previous GM of a Marriott Property, I find this utterly appalling. This is not how you treat your guests! This manager held no accountability for his actions and was completely unapologetic for putting out a family traveling with limited options. I stood in the office while they continued to check people in and at least 2 of the parties were double beds! I was a guest standing in front of him before these people ever walked into the hotel and the manager and two desk agents continued to overlook us. You have a responsibility to take care of the guest in front of you! As a manager, YOU moved us! This was of no fault of ours and you refused to take care of our guest needs! You acted as if your solution to put us in a King was a good enough answer! Most people who book doubles, need doubles! Your so called "offer" of another room type is unacceptable. We consented to nothing! You had zero professionalism or integrity! You should have stopped and come out from behind our wall and helped us until we had a solution! We should have been a priority! The second you moved us, we should have had a phone call, email or something! You should have had solution or at least options! Best Western should know of your incompetence and highly consider finding new management to represent their brand!

Given a room at the front of the hotel right next to the freeway. Super noisy. The fridge was off when we got to the room. Turned it on and placed medication and supplies inside. Next morning EVERYTHING was frozen. Turned fridge down thinking we had it set too cold. No, fridge was broken and this was obviously whey it was turned off when we arrived. Discussed with reception staff.

Checking in and out was fast. The cleaning staff did a good job. The beds were rock hard, the lobby smelled like weed and there was a dog constantly barking from a back room. The fridge in the room wasn't cold. It looks like a nice hotel from the outside but it's more like a decent motel on the inside. It was fine, but I'm not sure if it was worth what we paid.

This location us right next to the freeway. Great for just spending a night to get some sleep. Large property and kind of confusing to find your room. No complementary breakfast. No microwave. Our Uber Eats river brought our food to the lobby instead of the room. We had to get an accessible room as it was the only option left. The room had a wheelchair roll in shower. However the water leaks all over the floor onto the carpet of the room, the bathroom door won't shut because of this.

Perfect location, great value, I was in a non smoking room but it smelt like weed...I got spray from the cleaning crew and it took it away. I would deff stay here again! Great location and value for the buck

The hotel was standard. clean enough for a budget motel but certainly not a 3 star . Good central location to visit San Diego. However my jewelry was stolen. 30 years of travels purchased in various countries. Irreplaceable. I did not feel the staff was very active in their help. told me to file a police report and call the manager. I needed to get back home at this point and the manager would not be in until 4 pm. They said they had security cameras so why didn't they look for me? Not happy

The rug in room looked and felt like it had never been cleaned or shampooed. The shower handle was loose and the water temperature very hard to adjust. The breakfast at the restaurant was very high price for a very low quality breakfast

The price gouging is insane the place is kinda seedy ants in the bathroom the hot tub was cold the spa filthy and none of the jets worked the only resort thing about this place is the price however my family did enjoy the 8ft deep pool

I'm a travel agent and booked this hotel last minute. I was traveling on a budget with my 13 year old son, my friend and her kids. We had two rooms at this resort for a 4nt stay. The hotel checkin went quick and staff was nice. The grounds were beautiful as well as pool/hottub areas. Our rooms were towards the back of the hotel. They were small, visibly clean, but outdated. I did encounter a bed bug during the last night of my stay, this is not good! I understand it can happen anywhere, hopefully they do a better job cleaning rooms. Before I booked this hotel (day prior to arrival), I contacted the hotel to see if their restaurant and bar were open. They told me they are open during the afternoon and that the restaurant opened at 10am. The restaurant was not open until 430pm as well as the bar. Now, this is a huge disappointment if you are spending your day at the pool. It makes things difficult when you are traveling with 5 kids. I would've never booked this resort knowing this was not open. Unlike other Best Western hotels, this particular hotel had no free continental breakfast (no grab n go either). I understand things are different due to Covid, but other BW hotels still offer this. . There's only one restaurant really close to this hotel. Luckily, we didn't spend each day at the hotel. I would recommend staying at this hotel, only if you are on a budget.

Lovely large property with resort like feel ( lots of palm trees & plants, & walkways between the buildings). They have a restaurant (which we did not use, so I will not review) , a large pool & a large jacuzzi (not next to each other). They have a laundry facility (the machines take quarters, the front desk is happy to make change for you). Rooms have a small fridge. All and all very nice for the price, although the room was smallish. I think it would be fine for one, maybe two nights, but anything longer, I would choose an Airbnb instead.

The rooms smell bad. There was a worm on our bed so I recorded and reported it. They said to go to another room or cancel. What do you mean cancel? We drove hours to get here?! Obviously we went to another room, which also smelled funny. At night while we were sleeping, one of their staff members accidentally walked in our room. Very scary. And still, they didn't offer a discount or anything. Horrible night. Terrible service.

I understand that Best Western hotels are not top-notch accommodations, but most are comfortable & affordable for folks on a budget. My husband & I recently stayed at the BW Seven Seas when dropping our son off at SDSU to start his first year of college. First of all, the location is not very convenient for traveling back & forth to the SDSU campus, but we weren't able to book anything closer. Upon check-in, we asked if we could add an extra night to our reservation (added Sat night) & were told we could. We were quoted a total amount for our stay, including what we thought would be the cost with the extra night added, which we agreed upon. On Sat afternoon when we returned from campus activities, we found we were locked out of our room. We went to the front desk to ask why & were told that the extra night we requested hadn't been entered into the system. Luckily we would be able to stay the extra night, but the cost was way over the price we were initially quoted/agreed upon. When we balked at the exorbitant cost (over $200... for a Best Western) they gave us a 15% discount. However, with all of the fees & charges, that hardly amounted to much savings. We agreed to pay the ridiculous price because we weren't sure where else we could go on a Sat afternoon/evening! The hotel staff was friendly, but not trained properly in booking rooms, nor much in the way of customer service. They didn't apologize or take responsibility for the situation whatsoever. Needless to say, we will not stay there again, & wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Aside from hospitality issues, the area is a little sketchy & weird folks were hanging in the parking lot. My husband was asked for money by two women who claimed they were at the hotel with some "mean men" who didn't give them any food. Later, my husband saw one of the women being escorted from the property by security. We were happy they actually had security on the premises! Another time, I was walking to the lobby to see if they had a corkscrew available for use (they didn't, & said to bring the wine to the bar on the premises & they would open it for you there.... huh??). As I was walking back to my room, a strange man was walking through the parking lot & watching me. At one point he seemed to hide behind a building only to reappear walking toward me. I hurried back to my room & double-locked the door. Because the hotel is relatively large, the lighting on the backside of the parking lot is not adequate.

The tropical drinks were great. The tropical ambience is amazing. Nice hot tub. The hot tub is separate from the pool. The pool is big. The breeze is nice. Hotel is close to shopping and the harbor All in all I love it

They don't include a breakfast, however, other nearby motels have raised their rates so if only one person is staying the Best Western maybe a better value. This property has always had outstanding grounds and their restaurateur has always been good, though we did't eat there this time because of the Delta Variant, we are vaccinated but now avoid indoor dinning. The lighting for reading is not very good and they don't have a comfortable chair for reading.

Needed a place to stay for a few nights. Booked this hotel because I've previously stayed in this particular chain of hotels and never had any issues. This was the exception, room had a weir wet smell, there was noise from the adjacent rooms, looked like they had a 3 day party. I brought it up to the reception area and they took forever to take care of the problem. Lastly the price for the room is way too much for the quality of rooms.

I have been coming here for quite a few years - decades now, in fact. And I do not mind returning, as the experiences I have had are not reflected in recent reviews. By comparison, I have also stayed in Best Western properties both downtown and at Old Town and I keep coming back here. Price is one reason - this is more affordable, and for the amenities it is worth it. Second, this is centrally located to Balboa Park, zoo, waterfront museums, Sea World, University of San Diego and so many more reasons you may in town. Old Town is only a 5 minute drive away. This property is huge, over 300 rooms in 2-story buildings. The landscaping is quite nice, and the spa pools and the large pool are clean and well enjoyed. There is also a nice restaurant on site (currently with limited hours of 6-10am and 4 to 10pm) and a nice bar as well. And the restaurant (Seven Seas Café) will even run food to your room. An laundry facility offers several machines, as well as drink and snack machines and an ice machine (there are several throughout the area). And staff have always been friendly in my interactions. Those are the highlights of what is good here. For the "cons": yes, there are aging issues with maintenance, but some rooms have been completely redone and others need to be, but nothing that should impact your stay here. In my room this time, there was a rogue hair on the shower wall. An "ewww" moment, but easily moved with some tissue paper. The wallpaper is aged, needing to be replaced as it is bubbling itself off the wall. The A/C was not as strong as I would like, but when left one kept the room consistently cool over 5 days. And the door was off kilt, needed a foot to open it (you can see the sag along the top of the door and the door jamb). These are things I usually do not experience when I stay here. So yes, some issues need to be addressed. And I really hate the ice buckets - too thin and no insulation! Ice melts way too fast; out of 3 Best Western stays so far this trip, this is ONLY one without insulated buckets with lids . . . go figure. So, I am giving 4-stars this time as I am seeing some issues that should already be in the process of correction. Hoping that the same care and investment they gave to the landscaping is now given to the rooms.

We stayed in room 257 - our room had a gnat problem that I reported immediately. I informed the front desk that it was likely due to the large gap under the hotel door. I was told that the room would be sprayed the next day at 8:30 am. When we returned to the room, there was still gnats all over our room. Overall, the entire property needs pesticide maintenance since there were several large spiders around the building as well.

This hotel is a good value. The property is clean, The room was clean. The check in was the worst I've ever encountered at a BW. We had to stand outside for at least 10 mins and another 10 once in the door. It's COVID, I get it and I could accept the long wait but to be greeted with a stone face robot like unfriendly person makes you want to cancel and go elsewhere. Rest of stay was great.

We always stay at this hotel. We love the property, it is near several restaurants and the beach. The pool is really nice. My only complaint is that some of the rooms are small. The towels need to be updated but there is always enough parking and the staff are really nice.

The good, the hotel help. Very nice people, friendly, and helpful. The hotel itself was not so good. Rooms smelled musty or smokey (cigarette), the shower in our room sounded like someone was drilling a hole in it (bad pressure I guess), ants in the bathroom (the room that they tried to move us to), and inconsistensome AC unit, too hot, too cold, and the dials didn't change. We WILL NOT stay there again.

Quiet, clean and organized even though hotel was short handed. Fabulous shower, comfy bed, great staff, pool looked good although it wasn't warm enough to swim. I'm ready to book my next stay there, hopefully in September.

I stayed at this location for a total of 12 days and spent slightly over 2000 dollars with this hotel…. I paid on time if not we'll before I needed to, to extend my stay… I live in hotels currently as finding a place is hard on limited funds in SD. On the last day of my stay I was told I was put on restriction because someone had complained and that I was no longer allowed on property…. I had no explanation, no contact from anyone in the hotel to even try and resolve any problems that may have occurred, which, I was completely unaware of until I went to extend and was told I was not allowed to all of a sudden… this hotel lacks customer service as are lazy, rude and unprofessional especially for having spent as much money as I have spent in less than 2 weeks.

Really unhappy about my recent stay at this hotel. They were horrible to my husband and I. We paid almost 600$ for barely 3 nights. First night ,come to find out they charged my husband and I, our hotel stay ,with the card I had given them when I reserved our room. But somehow they didn't know that and try to attempt and charge my husband's card once more for the total charge of another 572$ . My husband's card was declined because it would've been over a 1000 in charges. We didn't know our room had been charged already. When it declined. I gave my card and I paid with my own card. Then I call our bank and come to find our. Wells Fargo notified that the hotel did charge our card that was on file. And it was declined when they had tried again because we already paid . We also had money on that card. When I spoke with management they were very rude to me and told me it wasn't their fault but my own. When no it wasn't. They used the excuse of being short staffed. I did request a refund. And they did so but not with out an attitude. Not only that the room we stayed in ,was very small. It also was very dirty in the carpet floor. We had a pest problem with ants all over the place,toilets didn't flush well,and we could hear loud water pipes making noise for hours in the morning. My husband and I finally contacted maitanence and even the employee apologized for the service we received. The only thing the hotel did was give us 40 percent off our first day. But other then that, we got a attitude. Nothing else was fixed and I wasn't happy. I've stayed at best westerns nicer the. This one with bigger rooms. There wasn't even a microwave . I don't want to hear from corporate apologizing ,but rather something should be compensated to my husband and I, for what we dealt with. We were charged over a 1000 dollars because employees didn't know their job. Horrible room and bad customer service. I even spoke to another guest in the hotel and they had issues as well.

Good overall. Room wasn't as clean as it should've been especially during covid. Covid is still a thing. Great location but definitely for single people. Not appropriate for families. Very loud and a lot of partying

Our flight home was cancelled and we scrambled to find a place to stay for the night. Honestly, I wish we could have stayed to enjoy the amenities (pool, hot tub), as everything was well kept, clean, welcoming. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. After a long, frustrating day it was a relief to relax and start fresh early the next morning.

Nice hotel, restaurant and bar!.convinient location, and you don't need to leave the hotel to eat or drink! Good food and good drinks! You can also work out, swim and relax in the jacuzzi! Excellent place to stay with your family!

good location right off the freeway with shopping and restaurants very close by. minutes to beaches/downtown/ the zoo etc. Room was very clean and quiet. Staff pleasant and helpful. Restaurant on site with decent food. Comfortable beds. Room could use some updating. very nice hotel for the price!

This place is not clean, saw and killed couple bugs, not friendly staff, check in and check out really slow and hot water is not available all the time, so expect cold shower. Find different place to stay in.

The room we were given shares a door with another room...adjoining rooms. I can hear the kids playing in the room next door. Breakfast is not provided despite website claim. Not very clean.Poor repair work

Accommodating staff members and great service. The only issue I had was with the way the rooms are designed, noise is definitely an issue. Rooms are located in other buildings that are separated from the lobby, and some of these are next to the parking lot. Also, because the room door leads directly outside, they can be more susceptible to a few pests (encountered some small bugs but they don't bother me; but might be a problem for others).

As I'm writing this, we're still at WB Seven Seas. Good or bad, I always try to evaluate a place based on what they charge. I don't mind if a place looks dated and shabby if it's priced appropriately compared to other hotels in the area. However, this hotel, for what it charges, is quite shabby. To be fair, it's clean and the grounds are well maintained. But our room was musky and smelled of cigarette smoking that's been covered up with deodorants. Some of the pillows smelled bad, like not enough bleach was used to wash them. The shower was not hot and even and the water pressure was low. The worst part was when I went down to get a coffee at the cafe near the lobby. An old man grumbled about not being open when clearly there was a family of three eating their breakfast there. The waitress came and another lady and I asked for coffee. She gave us coffee in a styrofoam cup reminiscent of a 7-eleven and walked away. I asked how much for the coffee and was ignored. The woman who also asked for a cup of coffee looked at me and we just figured coffee was complimentary. So I walked out. The waitress then came running at me yelling that I had to pay for the coffee. I told her that I asked and no one bothered to answer, to which she rudely replied, in these exact words, "What's that supposed to mean?" I went back and paid for my coffee and she still gave me an attitude. I'm always trying to be understanding of working women and men, but if you work in hospitality, you need to leave your attitude at the frontoor of your employer's facility. As a final note, the immediate area where the hotel was located didn't feel safe for my family. Lots of people loitering and passing by who were not staying at the hotel. I'm not familiar with San Diego but I will steer clear of this hotel in the future.

Seven Seas was beautifully landscaped. It was conveniently located to everything in the San Diego area. We never had a problem with traffic while trying to get somewhere. The room was very tastefully appointed and clean.

I stayed here because my sister loves best western and we were meeting in town. My room was a little outdated, but nice. The house cleaner did a fabulous job everyday! The landscape is beautiful! Anyway, my sister ended up changing hotels because her room wasn't so nice. And after sleeping there one night and seeing a roach her and her husband went to another hotel. I enjoyed my stay, but it would have been better if my sister could have stayed. She would have if they had another room, but they didn't.

This is cheap kind of motel. Rooms were small, outdated. Depend on your expectations, you might be happy with this kind of settings. We were just happy that night we spent there, no shootings around. Don't know if that happens around at all. But, it looks like place you can expect such things. Rooms smelled on mold and it was just pitiful stay...

Spotless, quiet, amazing room service from Seven Seas Restaurant (excellent food), comfy beds, spacious, updated decor and the most magnificent landscaping! Beautiful property, great value for the $$.

This BW7Seas Hotel is NOT a Family Friendly Hotel. It is located in an undesirable location next to a Freeway underpass and next to a Super 8 Hotel that always has homeless junkies, pimps, and prostitutes hanging around outside on the Super 8 Hotel balconies looking over the BW7Seas Hotel property. The front lobby supervisor and staff are unfriendly about customer service and boss the guests around about Hotel rules. This BW7Seas Hotel does allow for cigarette smoking outside of their Hotel rooms which is an unhealthy threat during the airborne Covid-19 Pandemic. The several parking lots are very dark and dangerous at night and are not safe to walk through at night even though they have a security guard now.

Awesome place staff was amazing a.checkin was fast and easy, rooms were nice but dated very clean will stay again located in a very nice and convenient area close too everything we wanted too see and do

This hotel was in a great location. Everything we needed to visit was no more than 10mins away. Staff is super friendly and our room was super clean. Let's talk about the internet! Superb!!! Fastest internet I have ever experienced in a hotel stay. Loved it!

The rooms are filthy. No microwave. The door handle almost fell off. If someone was in the shower and the sink water was turned on, even on cold, the shower would get cold. The light usb ports didn't work. The TV remote didn't work. It was like pulling teeth to get clean towels. The walls are thin. Overall, the worst hotel we've ever stayed at.

I booked a room for one night at this hotel, a little get away from the life kinda thing. Placr seemed clean at first.. but then.. while we were having a late dinner and movie in our room, my friend and I saw an adult cockaroach crawling across the wall and toward our dinner. It came from behind the TV next to the table where we were eating. We caught the nasty clicking squishy guy and figured after disposing of the bug that that was the last time we would see one in the room. 30 mins go by... and low and behold.. we hear that clicking sound again and then saw another cockaroach.. this time it came from the wall behind the TV, and this one was 10x bigger than the first and was harder to catch. Dinner was a bust and rest of movie we lay stressing about that sound and having to chase another bug around the room.. It was really late and we didn't feel like having to move rooms and packing and unpacking so I made the complaint the next morning. It seemed like the staff was not empathetic at all or helpful.. I was told they could not do anything and to contact the manager In the next 2 days.. I never got a call back from the manager and have called a couple times since. I was told someone would call me and I never got a call. I've stayed here many times and I've never had any complaints or issues however this stay was very unpleasant and the way the staff treated me was not professional at all and they showed little empathy.

We were on a bit of a budget, so we stayed at Best Western although we usually stay at an airbnb or Hyatt. One thing that really got us is every few hours, all 3 nights of our stay, someone was revving their engine and blasting music. It was terrible, we were being woken up all throughout the night. I know this isn't the hotel's fault, so I won't hold that against them. The rooms were clean, what I'd expect for a BW. What really got me is that the 2nd night we were there I woke up to use the bathroom and 3 earwigs were wondering around the bathroom floor. It made me paranoid to walk on the floor without the lights on! Also, the tub faucet water would get hot but once the shower was switched on, the water could not get hot. All our showers were cold no matter how far we turned the dial. The location of the hotel was decent but I wouldn't stay there again unless I didn't have money for anywhere else.

Pretty good value most of the time (though prices fluctuate). Stayed multiple weeks. Place is a bit dated and the rooms are just a bit tighter than average, but the staff is wonderful and responsive (they fixed 2 minor issues I had immediately) and the tropical plants and palms around the grounds are nice and give the place a bit of a seven-seas, vacation-y feel. Internet was solid. No microwave but has tiny (sort of inconveniently located) fridge in rooms. Parking was pretty good but freeway access is just slightly tricky at first but is very near (some noise from it). Not a lot of eats in walking distance but 2 malls and everything else is very short drive. Oh, and careful - the light switch by the door also shuts off the bedside nightstand outlets (clock, phone charger, etc ...).

The bar was great food is ok expected a better stay then what I received but it's ok I wouldn't recommend to stay here unless all other rooms are out of rooms hair was in my shower the water barely gets hot the water pressure was low and they charge you for bottled waters that's already inside the room

The location of the hotel was alright. It was near the freeway. So I heard a little bit of that. The first night was awful. There was a couple next door who blasted their music from 12:00 to 5 in the morning and having “relations”. All this noise woke up my daughter. I called the front desk twice and the second time, they allowed me to go to an “upgraded” room. I didn't see a difference between the two rooms. To me it was just a room in the back away from the noise. So I wasn't really satisfied with my stay. I like Best Western, but I will not be staying at this location again.

The employee's here were Exceptional, they do their best to help you in any way they can. You won't be unhappy you stayed here. You will be glad you did. I was here in San Diego for Radiation Treatments for Cancer and staying at this Best Western made my treatments easier to cope with.

On my second night in the hotel I notices roaches in the room... shook out all my stuff before checking out. Carpet in my room was filthy, had to wear socks to keep my feet from leaving black marks in the shower/bath.

Great location, close to the freeway and local attractions such as shopping, Old Town, Sporting events, Convention centers, etc... The ambiance of the hotel makes you feel like you are at a resort - On site restaurant is great and surprisingly the noise level is very low - you would never guess it's right next to the freeway!

I stayed here during a one-night layover. The hotel is about an easy, ten-minute drive from the airport. Room was well furnished and clean. The on-site restaurant and bar are friendly and convenient. The entire experience is a great value for the price.

I have spent 6 days in December in this hotel. The location is terrible, right next to the highway (noise of cars passing 24 hours), every night noise was heard in the parking lot, music was coming out of the cars. One day I found a live cockroach in my room. The sheets they use seem to be from the beginning of the century, full of little balls and worn. I will never return to this hotel. Gym and swimming pool closed.

Service was horrible. Called for extra towels @ 8pm & was told they don't have any on hand & that housekeeping wasn't there to get the towels until 830am the next morning. And that the towels in the room weren't plenty enough for me. First off, I called at 8pm. 8PM!!!!!! How do you not have any towels at 8pm?? And their excuse was that they don't have any access to the housekeeping area, that housekeeping only has access. I know for a fact that's a lie. Security should have access keys everywhere & I would think a supervisor or manager should have access everywhere too. Secondly, towels are part of hotel accommodations provided to guests. No where on their website or posted at their front desk or on the paper you sign after checking in does it say "Towels in your room are the only towels we will give you during your stay" or "No Towels from 8pm to 830am due to Housekeeping not being available." It completely ruined Christmas Eve night for me.

Older motel, well kept, quiet considering near busy interchange. Ample parking. Laundry on premises was an added bonus. Near Balboa Park, Scripps Medical Center, shopping center and restaurants, good location.

The parking lot is very dark. Its dark by 5pm in winter and each week I have guys, come ask for "mike" or "steves room". So I have strangers without masks, getting in my face, sometimes 2 or 3 surrounding me asking for specific people. As if this is an apartment. Obviously they are about to rob someone, maybe me if I didn't sound so angry. The homeless, are also all over hanging out here , I dont know if they live in this hotel like the other ones, but they hang out here and staff doesn't chase them away.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night at this Best Western as we had visited Balboa Park earlier in the day and will never stay here again. The problems - 2 of the washcloths were dirty with dried food stains. We had to call the front lobby to ask for clean washcloths. I also saw a bug crawling on the bathroom floor and the website advertises " In-room movies - movies on demand." Completely untrue and inaccurate. My husband and I were hoping to stay up late to watch a movie as it was raining that evening but then was told by the front lobby that "oh, that information on the website is old and needs to be updated." Well then....update the website and do not give your guests the wrong information!!

A very nice hotel to spend some time in while in the San Diego, CA area. A nice clean secure area and the staff at this hotel goes out of their way to make sure your stay in the area is at it's very best.

Stayed at this hotel the beginning of September for 3 days. At first, our stay was good. There was a smell in the area between the restaurant & bar.It smelled like broken sewer pipes when we 1st checked in. Our room was ok. The bed was very hard & not really comfortable for me. The pool is accessed with your room key, and at 10pm, the gates are locked & you can"t access the poor or Jacuzzi area. The pool, when opened is nice. The Jacuzzi was closed due to Covid. One night coming home, we parked in their parking lot & were approached by a homeless woman asking for money. There is homeless people hanging around in the parking lot are of the hotel. On Friday night, we were woken up at 2am by homeless people running past out room. We had a room close to the pool area. They hopped the fence & were having a party in the Jacuzzi & were washing their clothes & hanging up their laundry on the gated area around the pool. They were sitting all over the cars, drinking & smoking. We ended up moving our car. When my husband went to the lobby to tell them what was happening, nobody was at the desk, & after about 10 minutes when someone did finally come to the desk, they told my husband that they " aren't security, why are you telling us?" We checked out the next morning, asked to speak to a manager; but was told that the manager was on a conference call. We were given the managers business card, and as of today, it has been 7 days & my email to the manager has not been returned, nor has my phone call to him. I am also still waiting for my credit to be refunded to my credit card that has not been refunded.

BEST WESTERN -Seven Seas #1 First room offered had an overwhelming musty smell! #2 Found a used hypodermic needle that housekeeping did not get rid of! #3 Strange folks walking around and long-haired big dogs can hang out at jacuzzi. #4 The bar was open, unmasked people seated close together and bartender not even wearing mask! #5 Not up to code - light switch in bathroom near shower nozzle - electrical hazard! Plus bathroom door, once locked, DOES NOT UNLOCK!! Toilet too close to wall, so bangs on the wall when used. #6 Mirror has a sink counter too wide - so can't see your face to put on make-up or for men to shave #7 At the hotel cafe - found two long bone splinters - like fish bones- (scared I would swallow it and choke), along with a bone piece - DON'T ORDER THE TURKEY DINNER! Waiter did not seem concerned... #8 No traffic mirror - so driving to room is risky since you can't see an oncoming car around the corner until it's too late!

I stayed at your Best Western in San Diego on Sep 4-5. When I got to my room the door at first didn't open. I went to the front desk again and the second time it didn't open. It took about 4 phone calls to front desk 30 mins waiting to get into my room. At about 1am someone tried breaking into my room for a good 30 mins. I called the front desk about 2 times it took 10 mins to get someone to even answer!!! My next step was the police. When I got in touch with front desk they told me they by accident sent someone who just checked in by accident to my room, and I was suppose to be in room 505 which makes no sense on how I even got in the room at the first place. If I didn't have my top lock on I would have had people in my room at 1am. This is not acceptable. I don't even understand how this happen. I couldn't sleep all night after that. Traveling for many years I never had anything like this happen. I don't even need a appoligy your hotel employees ruined my whole stay in san diego due to a stupid error which should have not happen. When checking out I didn't even get an apology the man at the front desk had a smirk like It was funny. Im truly disappointed in your staff and the experience I had. I will be contacting Best Western corp since this is not acceptable for anyone to deal with. Than when I got home I was billed twice $2.88 for water that I never even used and a “incidental charge” of $86 when I was told it is $75. Thank you. P.S Manager has not replied to my emails for over 2 weeks. Just to show how much this property and staff care about guests! Stay away.

I've had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Seven Seas Resort on Hotel Circle in San Diego several times over the last few months. Each visit has been exceptional due to the fantastic staff, luxurious renovated rooms, amenities like gym, swimming pool and jacuzzi,and last but not least the design and landscaping. It feels like you are in Hawaii with all of the lush tropical plants and palm trees. They must have an army of well trained gardeners to keep up with it all.There is a Cafe on property that serves breakfast and dinner and I think I've tried everything on the menu. Nothing was disappointing and the waiters are top-notch. They even do ROOM SERVICE! The Best Western Seven Seas Resort is my first choice of all the properties on Hotel Circle in San Diego. The best part about it is the prices are HALF of what you'd expect to pay at a similar resort. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Front desk and maids never had clean towels to give us. Ants all over the bathroom and sink area. All three days - Ants. The air conditioner could not keep up. During the day the room would get super hot.

Horrible stay. I have stayed at low budget hotels before, but this motel is one of the worst. I do not feel safe at this property. Bad, Sketchy people walk through this property at all times of the day and night. I definitely would not bring my kids here. Police were at this property EVERY DAY of my stay. If possible AVOID.

I had the absolute worst experience in all my travels at this hotel. It started out with having to beg the front desk person to get a different room after the big party started in the room next to me. The guy at front desk was rude. I had to call 3 different times!! I had to go get a key for the new room well after midnight and go to the office where the front desk person rudely told me that I had to stand outside that only 2 people were allowed in the lobby (which was insane...there was plenty of room for people to stand 6 feet apart). The next morning I realized when I was getting ready for the memorial service that I came in town for, that my jewelry pouch wasn't in my bag! It had a special locket that my loved one whose funeral service I was going to, gave me! I called the front desk and after numerous calls they said they didn't find the pouch in the other room. Their housekeeping person had to have taken it. The management there was never available to speak to and after contacting corporate Best Western, I got an email from them saying that they aren't responsible for any items left in the room. Horrible, horrible stay and customer service!!

This place is infested with bugs, there are drugs, and all types of sketchy people hanging out. We came here as a family of four, with our little toddlers.We came for fourth of July weekend ended up leaving the first night at 1 am. Don't stay here especially with kids. Messaged the manager about our stay still no response.

You will find no better hotel than this one. Staff makes you feel like family. All the amenities you need. Great food and service always with a smile. Buisnees or pleasure this is the place the stay. Seven seas is a great asset to the Best western family.

5/28/20 I stayed in room 213 here for one night. Upon checking in, I'm told I can't use my company card to check in with a deposit hold of $75 due to this place having a restaurant and bar. I had to call my managers on the east coast to deal with this situation which at that time was midnight for them. All thanks to Cassandra whom gave me nothing but attitude the entire process. I finally spoke with a best western associate and they told me they'd ensure I got to my room with no issues. Soon as I came back to get my room key, Cassandra's attitude changed like at a drop of a hat, from bad attitude to fake personality. I hate leaving bad reviews but this place need some better employees, not catty females looking for a verbal fight. This place needs to hire some classy people, not trashy. I will never stay here again. Such a terrible experience just from checking in. The room was musty, and the shower couldn't get super hot. Plus due to the restaurant and bar area, it was so loud, hard to get a good nights rest with all the noise. I'm usually the one that would partake but not @2 am. Just all around bad experience. Wouldn't recommend it for anyone

For the price, this hotel is pretty good. This is our second time staying at this hotel. I like the pool and Jacuzzi area. Room is clean, except that this time the bed in our room was very worn out! very soft. (Rm#158) We did not have a good sleep at all. I was going to ask for a change of room but we were too lazy to re-pack out stuff. The property ground is nice with lots of trees. I would def stay here again.

Nice landscaping, large spread out complex with 4 separate long rectangular 2-story buildings. This is an older property that is fairly well maintained and it does have about 10 oversize parking spots. Regular parking is ample and they don't demand an extra $10 for parking like some other motels in the area.

BW says a reservation was made and no email reservation confirmation or pre-stay emails were sent. Then I was charged for a no show. BW contact \\/help person basically says too bad. I am a BW rewards member for years so they have all my contact info, and I did get the "how was your stay" email.

I have stayed at this hotel for as little as $47 night and as high as $60. Hotel is 100% bon smoking rooms. I noticed tefigerat ou rs in all rooms. Idid bbn ot noticeca microwave. Clean rooms and good staff.

Great price for a clean room with a very efficient and helpful staff. I ordered food from the restaurant their prices were reasonable . The food was done pretty fast. That pizza was hot and delicious. When we checked in the hobby the lady who help us check in was professional and delightful. I am definitely going to recommend this hotel to my friends or family.

This was a great choice. The location was excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Has pool, hot tub, restaurant, fitness center and free WiFi. An excellent value for the cost. Will definitely stay here again!

Very satisfied, myself and 83 yr. old mom! Clean, quiet despite being in Hotel Circle, well manicured grounds, restaraunt lil pricey but ok for breakfast, accessible to attractions nearby and downtown.

This hotel and the whole "hotel circle" are awful. The hotels are near a large conference center and so get people regularly even though they are total dumps. Easily the worst best western I've ever stayed at.

Avoid this hotel. They charged my card for an additional $164 on top of our stay, but have no record of the charge. When I call, staff will either disconnect the call or transfer me to an accounting department that won't answer the phone. I will have to report this to my bank for what it is; fraud. I stay at Best Western hotels often and have never had an experience like this. I may rethink who I book with in the future due to this unfortunate stay.

This hotel is right at the beginning of Hotel circl . I loved all the trees, it felt very tropical. The staff was super friendl . They have two spasms and a pool. The room was clea . There were lots of places to chill with the family and hang out . They also have a laundry facility, which is great after the beach . Lol. Overall, looking forward to staying again real soon.

Since my oldest son entered SDSU in 2009 I have always stayed at the Best Western Seven Seas when visiting San Diego because of it'd beautiful gardens, great staff and excellent location. I look forward to visiting again when the opportunity is available.

I was a little nervous to stay here because the price was so reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised! Parking was very convenient (and free!), my room was clean and comfortable, the location is central to everything. The little bar is cute and cozy, the bartender is friendly and there is a happy hour every day. There are also two different hot tub areas which I really liked. It was nice to have a mini fridge in the room. I just wish there had also been a microwave.

This is a gem of a hotel. Hard to even see it off the freeway as it is right where two freeways merge. Yet, it is quiet with old style ambiance! Large palm trees, landscaped property, pool, Jacuzzi, Restaurant on site, super easy to get to almost anywhere around San Diego! We went to the movies, Old Town & Seaworld. We were super happy with our room & the staff was terrific! Highly recommend!

The staff at the front desk were consistently unprofessional. The food was absolutely terrible, barely eatable. Housekeeping does not provide plastic garbage bags for the trash. No microwave in rooms. Uncomfortable beds. No elevator. One luggage cart for a 400-room hotel. The only good news was a convenient location and a room that was quite large. You can do better in this highly desirable neighborhood with lots of hotels to choose from!!

Value and quality match. Friendly staff. Beautiful grounds in beautiful hotel circle in San Diego. All the staff seemed very happy and there was a sense of teamwork amongst them. The pool was spotless.

I have stayed here many times and it never disappoints. The rooms are clean the food is great and all of the staff make you feel like family. From the front desk to the room service people, to the bar and restaurant staff you are treated like a welcome addition to their family.

We chose this mid-range hotel based on location and amenities. First the fitness room was closed Jan. 20 - 25. Then the pool was closed Jan. 27 - Feb. 1 (maintenance). The fitness room only has 4 pieces of equipment, no weights, no TV. The pool and hot tub hours were posted as 8am - 10pm, but since the areas weren't monitored or locked, the pool and adult-only hot tub areas were packed with drunk party-goers every night well past midnight. Two saving graces are wonderful housekeeping staff and free parking (rare in San Diego).

When booking the hotel through hotwire, I made a mistake - I booked a wrong date (the month was wrong while the day of month was right - I suspect it was because the booking website jumped to the wrong month just before comfirmation, but I have no evidence). So when we arrived, they could not find my reservation. Fortunately, they still had vacancy for that night, and we bought a room again. The stay was very good and there was not any issue that night. The room was clean and the garden outside looked beautiful. Unlike other Best Western hotels, they did not provide free breakfast. However, the value of the restaurant breakfast was good.

This was a nice hotel stay close to LEGOLAND. The pool and hot tubs are nice, but they do not offer free breakfast like most best western chains. Staff were all friendly and we did not have any issues with our room.

Our dingy room was in need of a facelift. The bathroom door didn't close due to a loose hinge and the bathtub faucet dripped continuously. The property has no elevators, so if you have heavy luggage ask for a room on the first floor. Pool and landscaping are attractive and well maintained and the restaurant has a varied menu of good food. Overall a little disappointing, but the location is convenient and the price is affordable.

It was a beautiful property, and the onsite cafe was a great option, and they don't charge for parking like most surrounding hotels. However, the room was so dingy I felt like I was staying in a motel in the middle of nowhere once inside our room. There were two of us on our reservation, and there was only two towels total in the room and they were TINY, and rough. The bed was decently comfortable, and the pillows were actually supportive suprisingly. I would not stay there again, we left early from our stay.

This hotel is in a nice location. It's located walking distance from the fashion valley Mall , and a short trip to other shopping centers around the area. Rooms were nice. They do offer bottled water for $2.50, do I would suggest bringing your own water. Also no microwave & a small mini fridge. So don't plan on storing food if your staying longer than a few nights.

Best Western Seven Seas exceeded my expectations! For the value per night on average, the cleanliness,amenities, and location in San Diego are excellent! Location is about 10-15 minute ride to downtown San Diego! Staff was friendly and helpful and assisted me with a smile to accommodate my late check in of 2:00 AM! Highly recommended

Pro: Best part of my stay, is that they upgraded us to a suite. It was just my husband and I, and it was nice having my own bathroom. Also, it was close to everything! Dining, shopping, zoo and SeaWorld are all less than 10 minutes away. It was great. Parking was free! CON: The rooms are outdated and it smelled old and musky. Walls are thin. Parking spots aren't very big. Non working ice machine and cable wasn't working in the bedroom. Definitely average. If you are only looking for a place to sleep and a hot shower, and dont care about the other stuff, then this is the place for you! I suggest earplugs if you want a quiets night sleep. Remember....thin walls and loud neighbors.

My son and me love the swimming pool and the hot tub. We swimming in the very warm water during Christmas holidays, it's a great feeling! We had a very good dinner for the Christmas evening with my family. I feel this hotel is professional for everyone's need, and very nice for everyone, at every day. Even at Holliday!

Room had writing on the wall, and we found two baby roaches by our trash can, The heavy set gal upfront I believe her name was Sally? I couldn't really catch her name over her yelling at us and threatening to call the police simply because we where asking for our deposit back after the manager of the housekeeping crew walked through our room and verified that the room was ok to refund security deposit, I have never been treated so poorly by a "manager" on duty, you could tell she has had no home training the way she threatened us infront of other customers who where agreeing with us, we where told accounting could solve our problem in the morning but when we went down accounting was magically unavailable, I will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN and I feel for the Best Western brand as it's being tarnished by such low budget employees, even Steve the operations manger couldn't do his job and simply answer our calls to fix the issue, he was dodging our calls

You get what you pay for. Great Location, Price was unbeatable, Restaurant food was very good, very nice staff, Free parking, Jacuzzi was super hot. This is not a fancy place to stay so if this is what you are expecting look someplace else. I really enjoyed this place and the gardens were very peaceful. This was just what I was looking for I needed a quick getaway from where I live. Safe area and close to my home.

I was recently in San Diego and needed a place to stay for an early morning conference. I decided to stay here mainly because of the price and free parking. Free parking at hotels in the San Diego area is hard to come by. That being said, if you are on a budget this is a great option. I did not use any of the facilities since I arrived late at night and checked out early in the morning. The room had a strange odor from the moment we walked in. The property is older and in need of repairs. The location is great close to the freeway and the girls in the lobby were sweet. Check in and check out was fast which I did appreciate. However, I would not stay here again and would not recommend staying here unless you are on a tight budget and do not mind black cats walking around the property and strange odors.

Great place to stay. It's an older hotel as are others in the vicinity, but is VERY clean, neat and the grounds are nicely done. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Rooms are maintained well and decorated nicely. Waitstaff at the restaurant provided excellent service!

Stay at this hotel not the first time. Really nice hotel service and prices among other hotels in this area! Also nice restaurant, two spas, one heated pool. Really good area, very close to all places you need!

So this is a very large hotel that is in need of a larger cleaning staff. The front desk was efficient but also so but that they lacked the time they desired to go that extra mile. The parking is badly set up and very hard to drive through in some areas. When we got to the room it had that normal mildew smell that many hotels overdue for updates tend to have. I had requested extra blankets that never came but I could have easily gotten over these things, as I am not picky until we went to shower and the towels had long hairs in them. I brushed this off as hairs can get stuck in the laundry through a cleaning however when we pulled down one of the beds to sleep the same hairs were also there as well as some light brown bits of what appeared to be skin in a butt shaped mark that smelled horrendous! I only found this out because it was near the pillow area where I had just laid my head. Yep. Definitely Butt Crumbs! Disgusting. I called the front desk to ask for someone to come change the sheets but they were understaffed and told us they would deliver the sheets but we would have to change them ourselves?! Isn't clean bedding part of what I was paying for?! Also very thin walls could hear our neighbors all night and were afraid of disturbing them as well. Had it not been for the gross sheets thing I would have rated this hotel as just average and not poor. There is no breakfast served, though on my reservation it was stated there was. Overall very disappointed as there were much better hotels at about the same or cheaper in the surrounding area. This one is far too busy to properly cleaned and hospitable.

keep an eye on your safety, since this property is getting on the edgy side, with strange late night cats? lingering around the property, and shaddy charachters at hotel late night bar; zacks...caution!

Haven't stayed here in a while, and they have improved the place a lot! I love this location for its - ummm, location! It is also a nice property, with a decent restaurant on site, laundry facilities that always have machines available, and clean, well appointed rooms. Nearby are several good restaurants off property, and easy on-off access to I-8, I-5 and 163 to downtown/Hillcrest. The rooms have definitely been worked on since I was last here, as has the lobby (it's been a while, to be sure . . .). I was lucky to be upgraded to a suite, with a jacuzzi (which I only tried the last night, and couldn't get the jets to work . . . oh well, had a good soak anyway). The suite had two baths, one "traditional" and one very modern, with beautiful tiling throughout and a deluge shower head in a phone booth (Google it, if you must!) sized stall. Wasn't too fond of that, as my elbows found every wall at some point, and it was hard to soap up with all the eater coming straight down on you. But, a very nice bath setup in general, and a separate sitting area was nice. Parking is the biggest challenge, as some of the spaces are small and close to spaces behind others. Was surprised, also, that the rooms do not have a microwave! There is a mini-fridge, for keeping food and leftovers fresh, but no way to reheat them! Or just heat water for tea or coffee - that in-room coffee maker was okay, but didn't get water too hot for my liking. Maybe at least have a couple available in the laundry - snack machine area for common use? Otherwise, friendly front staff, good facilities, and a decent price for a central location encourages a return visit - I'll try not to be so long in returning next time.

My check in was awesome. The young lady who checked me in was very professional and friendly! The food on the property was great however they do not offer a mircrowave, no where on the property. Overall great hotel. I will definitely return!

The hotel was fine for the 2 nights we were there. We did not use any of the amenities other then have breakfast at the restaurant and that was a good meal. The location of the hotel was convenient to everything we wanted to do.

Cute retro hotel hotel with character. Comfy spacious rooms - clean and in good condition. Great location, good value. I would definitely stay here on my next business or leisure trip. It's a nice change from all the other standard hotels in the area.

The hotels perfect for couples and families to stay at very cozy and warm but when you are trying to have a night in and enjoy yourself. the internet isn't going to be your best friend kinda ruins movie night.

Will go again This is the second time we've been to this place and it's just absolutely great, it was a couple things that could've been done but not nothing that would've ruined my stay, The room was very clean, the staff very helpful, they just need to make some adjustments for handicap, I had a hard time opening the doors and then trying to help my handicap husband, the handicap shower was the best thing that happened to us, except I wish they would've had a stool for him to sit on, food was great, the pool was great, Internet a little slow, but we are planning on going next year again

We have stayed several times at Seven Seas. Cosy and clean! Very nice staff. Clean pool area with nice Jacuzzis. A nice bar and restaurant. We enjoyed the entire facility including the fast wifi. Close to almost everything. Very easy access to Interstate 8 and I-5, minutes to Downtown, Old town, Mission Bay, Balboa Park etc. We cant be more satisfied. I really recommend Seven Seas, its worth every dollar and we'll return again. We felt very welcome throughout the stay.

There was a loud noise every time the toilet next door was flushed, the room lock broke and we couldn't get in our room, they charge $75 deposit which no other Best Western has charged before, and the don't provide the breakfast that other Best Western locations provide.

Stayed here one night. Room was clean and basic. No frills, but most everything I needed (a shower cap would have been nice). Saw the pool and hot tub--they looked clean. Everything worked, no complaints.

This was truly a horrible stay, I usually travel and stay in motels/hotels about 40-50 nights a year and this by far was one of the most negative experiences. Full disclosure, I booked this last minute on a discount third-party site since I was running low on business travel funds for the month. Well, that was my mistake, you truly get what you pay for. On my third day at the property, I had an early morning business meeting and planned to head back to the motel to change before heading to the airport. To my shock, I came back before check-out time at 12 noon. I came back to find the door open to the outside (this place is a motel) all the furniture removed from my room and my belongings gone. I went to speak to registration and asked to speak to a manager however the staff never gave me that option so I had to speak to the clerks at the desk. I was informed that they though I had checked out - even though on check-in I was told that to check-out I had to leave my keys in the room and call registration. I was fortunate that I got my belongings back after waiting about 20 minutes. I thin the biggest disappointment is that that motel really sucks at service recovery. My third-party biller at least gave me a rebate for a future purpose. I never got a chance to speak to the manager - even after I requested multiple times. This was my first time staying in a BW in a number of years, I had previously left BW for another chain since I saw a deterioration in their property quality - and after this experience I have no intention of going back to another BW. Bottom line, this was a cheap motel which is great for budget-oriented traveler however keep a watchful eye on your stuff! You never know if staff might come in rip out all the room's furniture and walk out with your belongings. Obviously, there are pretty significant security and privacy issues that would prohibit me from staying here or another BW again.

Don't believe the internet pics. Definitely not a “resort”. Almost all rooms face a filthy sidewalk and parking lots. Management tried to resolve my issues but even their best still had the same problems.

This is the only time in my best western life that there was no coffee in the reception area.I had to buy it at the restaurant I guess I need to have checked it better before I booked my room my bad.for

Older property but was clean and comfortable. Price was 1/3 of other places we stay. Onsite cafe was excellent (we did room service after yelping some of the delivery menus in the room). Easy check in and out.

Even with freeways all around and people arriving late, we find the BW 7 Seas to be quiet and comfortable. The nearby freeways make it easy to quickly get to our next destination. Our rooms are always clean and the amenities all work great.

Arrived only to be told there would be no water until 5am the next day. Guests were expected to flush the toilet only once until then and use water bottles for brushing teeth. Despite the hotel having received advance notice, hotel management did not inform arriving guests ahead of time nor did they make arrangements to relocate guests to other hotels. They did print out a sign at the front desk that there was no water. Ridiculous.

If you hang your privacy sign on the door the morning house keeping staff will rumble thier carts near you door and talk loudly near your window to wake you up. Very rude and annoying for guest who want to sleep in. Also experienced early morning construction or bathroom repairs next door by ground staff. Don't understand why check out is 12pm and check in is 4pm where housekeeping can clean rooms or staff make repairs and not bother thier hotel guest during thier stay. Poor experience.

The place is nice. It was very unsatisfactory at first there were noises next door due to construction. The room was very small, the hallway and the rooms next door smells cigarrette, despite of a non smoking room request. It was too dark outsidecand a bit scary. We requested to move us the next day. Although it was pass the time they can move us, the front desk helped us with my request of a better room. Despite the fact we were not told that there is only a time frame to move we were given a bigger room and better location than the first. The rest of our stat became much comfortable and satisfactory.

The room smelled like someone smoke by the open door. A/C didn't work very well, made the room smell worse. Bedding was not comfortable...we felt itchy. Noise of people knocking with key cards on doors around us. Sketchy people going in an out of rooms slamming doors. From about 10:30 to 4:30am Horrible, waste of money!!

Place was clean, but place was pretty mediocre and they had overpriced water in rooms, over priced cafe for ok food. Staff seemed friendly and helpful though. Walls are a bit thin so can hear pretty much everything.

Read this review and run for the hills! Don't waste your money here! NO RUNNING WATER!!! We were not forewarned in advance of our stay, but simply handed water bottles at check-in, and told there would be no running water till the next day. Why do I pay full price for a property not offering the most basic of amenities?? Ridiculous. No apologies or concessions offered to make up for the lack of running water. Even better, our key wouldn't work when we got to our room. The security officer could not figure out how to fix it and was using a tool to try and get the doorknob to work. He finally used a master key to force the door open, and let us in but said the door would not work until he could get janitorial staff on it to fix it the next day, so we we could not exit/enter out our door! We had to go in and out through our friends' adjoining room. No one ever came to fix the door. Even better, upon walking in our room, there was a cockroach on the wall waiting to greet us, that quickly scurried out of reach. Then, we discovered the mini-fridge door was wide open, and clearly not cooling. It was plugged in, so it was just broken, and apparently the staff's solution to a broken fridge is just to leave the door open, rather than to fix or replace. It was the same situation in our friend's room. At this point, the broken-down-ness of this room and property just became laughable. What a dump. Air conditioning? Yes, but an old wall unit, with worn out buttons that have likely been worn down from use since the 80's. Either full blast cold or nothing at all, if you can even get the buttons to work. The room in general felt dirty and definitely did not want to risk walking barefoot. Hair in the bathtub. So gross. Aside from our personal rotten experience, there are some things about this property, that every guest will notice: the Best Western Seven Seas is old, run down, and in desperate need of update and overall renovation. Will NEVER return to the BW Seven Seas. NEVER. Pay the extra $30-50 to stay somewhere that at least feels clean and has running water. Worst. Hotel experience. Ever.

Insects. Keycards that do not work. Phones that do not work. Maintenance that cannot repair the phones that don't work. Front desk people that can't be bothered to answer the phone, but can take the time to have their own social conversations. Managers that avoid and ignore guests. Oh, and did I mention the insects.

The room was quite small (2 double beds). Only 3.5 feet of space between the beds 2nd side of beds inaccessible due to AC and bathroom wall. Walls are quite thin so we heard the neighbor's tv all nihht. Cable TV was useless - the no signal blank screen was more reliable than the programs/shows. Mini fridge made constant noise and shower head dripped anytime the fauce was on. Laundry facilities were a plus but are located in the very back of the property - detergents are for sale at the front desk (front of property). The pool claimed to be heated but was quite cool. The 2 hot tubs were the best part of the stay.

Great location. Beautiful grounds. Quiet. Close to zoo, sea world and ocean. No microwave in room. Food at restaurant is average. Service was poor. No smoking rooms. Housekeepers are Amazing! Check in and out were easy.

Room could use better pillows and towels. Staff failed to respond to fixing a slow draining tub. Refrigerator made noise when running so shut it off. Will find a better alternative when next in San Diego.

Have stayed here multiple times. This was the worst. Got there about 11pm after unloading all my stuff for show that weekend and desperately needed shower and to wash my hair. At 11:30pm tried to take shower...no water...called desk..they said city turned off water unexpectedly...they said i could come to lobby for some water...I WAS JUST IN THE LOBBY!!! YOU COULD NOT HAVE TOLD ME THEN???? When i asked about discount or something (points maybe) they said oh, we were just offering water thurs night..so nkt happy at all about the way that was handled.

Had a reservation for 9/26-9/29. When we arrived for check in the front desk clerk told me they had no running water. Seeing how it was already past 11 pm I was tired and hesitant. She did say Sandiego was investigating it. At this same time another woman came in and complained that the first room they had put her in the sheets were filthy and they had seen a cockroach. They had been moved to another room and she was there to complain about the lack of water. Now I was even more hesitant but I took the bottles of water the clerk gave me and drove back to my room. When I got to the room I was appauled. There were 100's of ants having a field day in the shower. I told my son to grab his stuff and we went back and proceeded to ask for a refund and checked out. The front desk staff was cordial and friendly but I would not recommend this property to anyone at anytime.

Hotel is clean and I received good service. The hotel hasn't updated much, so might consider some for the future. I like the location, the restaurant (only had breakfast, but very good). I also like having the second hot tub. There is one by the pool, which I used as well, but for some real down time, the second is more secluded.

Bad bad would not recommend. Horrible experience i had to check out and go to another hotel, staff not helpful at all. I was in shower when water shut off, not to my expectations they have alot to do to make things right.

Pretty poor customer service- had to wait 4 hours for the room to be ready, even though I had requested an early check-in. The location was convenient to where I needed to be. I thought the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Other guests had issues and were told a manager was not available on a Sunday.

Needed to attend a work conference at a neighboring hotel in walking distance but by staying with Best Western I saved more than half the lodging fees. $$$$! But reserve well in advance if you're price sensitive; you won't be disappointed if you do. Everything is up to BW standards for cleanliness, internet access, easy parking. Staff was courteous, professional, helpful when asked for advice or assistance. If you go to BW because of the free breakfast service, be aware that this is NOT one of those and it's clear if you read their amenities info BEFORE booking. The onsite restaurant is perfectly fine for your standard diner-type breakfast. Disappointed that my room did not have bathtub to soak aching joints, but I went down to use the spa instead--spa was fine and I actually had lots of impromptu conversation with other guests. Tip: park under the towering shade trees to keep your vehicle cool but only for short periods--if you leave it overnight you'll get residue and some powdery debris (if it's a rental, who cares?). If you're in a car, the location is very convenient to local shopping and dining. Not much is around if you're on foot though. If you do public transit, it's on a bus route and about a 15-minute walk to a light-rail stop which will get you all over the area. This was my 2nd stay and this will definitely remain on my go-to list for San Diego lodging.

This Best Western looks like it has recently been upgraded. If not then it is in really excellent shape either way. Love that their table lamps all have electrically outlets so easy to set up the computer or for charging your phone. Very clean and organized. We had a very pleasant stay.

The location is perfect for every thing in your plan, Fwy, super market, convention places walking distances, or short drives, hotel has a great and delicious menu in their restaurant, service is great! and friendly

Came for a conference and fortunately the main conference hotel was already sold out. Found this Best Western less than 1/2 mile away, less than half the price, did not have to pay for parking, very clean and amazingly quiet, and a nice restaurant to get a bite to eat at the end of hectic days and quietly decompress (others from the conference were also staying there)! I will be back next year.

Location, facilities and staff at Best Western Seven Seas hotel is great. Complete Restaurant Service you don't need to go out. I strongly recommend to consider your stay here. A few minutes from the beach and downtown.

Great service and very helpful staff and room service. Available 24/7 just a call away right from your bed. I'll stay here when I visit San Diego again and definitely recommend anyone. Most of the tourist places are very near such as Zoo, sea world, beaches and balboa park are just 5mins drive.... Safari Park and lego land are 25mins drive though.

They get you with some $75.00 deposit just because they have a bar/restaurant regardless if you plan on using it. Ants in the room, called twice, refrigerator didn't work, don't honor any BW promotion, like 500 points for not using maid service per night. Won't accept BW gift certificate until after your stay, then will reimburse you instead of taking it off the cost of the room in the first place.

I found that what I saw online (pictures), and what I encountered, was not the same. In other words, the propaganda presentation was REALLY well done, and this property was disappointing. I didn't realize that it was a motel instead of a hotel, and, although the room was clean, the AC unit was so loud that it was hard to sleep. I was amazed that the cleaning staff didn't say anything to maintenance staff. Also, I have no way of knowing if they put us into this back room knowing it was subpar, or whether it had been used recently enough to know that. I don't think it was worth the fee paid.

The grounds are beautiful, but don't let that deceive you. This hotel was the worst BW stay this Platinum BW rewards member has EVER had. We never ask for a new room, but the 1st room stank of marijuana. The reservations clearly stated we were travelling with children. We also asked ahead twice for a pack and play and was told that wouldn't be an issue. When we got there one was not ready and we were told by staff they couldn't access them. We spent a sleepless night taking turns sitting up with our baby. While the second room appeared clean, my husband erupted in bug bites on his ankles and back. So gross!!! (I guess it's good there wasn't a packnplay provided, I can only imagine.) The staff were none too friendly and inattentive, playing on their cellphone with earbuds in. We knew there was no free breakfast, but honestly there is nothing to draw a person to this location. We stayed at a humble BW in Oceanside two years ago and it was a gazillion times better than this one. Save the headache and drive into San Diego if you are BW member.

Have stayed here in the past. It used to be an OK economy choice. This time things were broken (air conditioner, fan in bathroom) bugs on bathroom floor, peeling plastic seat on desk chair. Hotel is in need of major refurbishing. I believe cleaning staff tried really hard. Restaurant staff very hard working. Front desk staff didn't know what they were doing, both checking in and out. We couldn't get into our room until 4:30...had to sit outside on patio until rooms were ready...they started working on this at 2:30 when we arrived. Very disappointed at how shoddy this hotel has become..

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. We also needed a place to do some client work while away. We ready enjoyed the Seven Seas. Easy access to Balboa Park, downtown, SeaWorld, shopping and dining. Really a hidden gem. We felt like we found a good deal and didn't pay high CA prices.

Stayed here many times, still love it. Few times I did not, unfortunately they were booked solid. Plenty parking and grounds well kept. Restaurant on premises, bar. Location is best of all. Few minutes away From anywhere in town.

I love to just go for a staycation when needed. Quiet property, great food at the restaurant, friendly staff. All for a great price. The hotel is centrally located to everything you need and close to SeaWorld.

We checked into our room in the evening and requested additional blankets and towels.. Apparently housekeeping was only open between 9a-5p the day we stayed so if you needed any extra amenities you were out of luck.. We tried calling the front desk and the staff nonchalantly said sorry you have to wait till morning.. We ended up sleeping with the heater on which flared my sons asthma and had to share wet towels.. Needless to say not a positive experience.. We'll never stay here again and I will advise all family and friends of the same..

The air conditioner barely worked. Room smelled musty. Difficult to sleep in. I had to open a window and keep it open all night. This felt unsafe because the window faced the walkway where anyone could come in.

The hotel grounds are pretty. The room was nicely renovated. The water in the shower switches from hot to cold constantly - not comfortable. The beds are so firm that it feels like you are sleeping on the floor. Woke up with a horrible not sleep and extreme back pain.

Love the location of this hotel right up against the hills and grounds are nicely maintained. Pool area beautiful with lots of lush greenery and palm trees. Double bed room a little small but clean and comfortable, only wish there was a small microwave in the room. Restayrant had good food and convenient for meals. Zack's Bar great place to grab happy hour appetizers and drinks and sit poolside!

Definitely, I will go back to stay in Best Western Seven Seas hotel. Great location, I used public transportation which was very convenient to me. Great atmosphere for relaxing and very friendly staffs.

Great place to stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool was nice and hot tub open till 3 am. Food at restaurant good with a great selection. Lounge area fun with staff and patrons. Would stay here again. Only stayed one night but would have like to stay longer....next time. Close to the San Diago Zoo and Safari. Front Desk Staff helpful with directions and ideas to make trip more fulfilling with activities.

Best Western 7-Seas is a great place to stay. The staff here is fantastic. Every Wednsday for PG guest they grill, yes on an actual grill outside. To make this even better, the owner does the grilling. Steve, the General Manager pours the drinks. The whole staff is great.

We thought the rooms would be a little more updated. Price wise it was ok but don't go if u want up to date amenities. I have this thing with hair and it was on my linens and towels... total turn off so we didn't stay the 3 days.

Not the best Best Western I have stayed at. The staff was friendly and helpful but people smoke all over the property and right next to my room. There is a designated smoking area, just annoying that they are too lazy to use it. Fitness center has TVs on equipment but they do not work. No breakfast offered like most other BWs.

While Centrally located, it's not really friendly with freeway, and it's in the middle of construction zone, and became very time consuming to get in and out of the area of the motel. We didn't pay a lot, so there's not so much to complain about. The setting was rather nice. The room was small. The bed was small, but reasonably comfortable. For what we paid, then considering it was San Diego in summer vacation season, we can't complain. My only beef was that it seemed to me that the bottom sheet had not been changed. I requested new linens and towels just to be sure. Housekeeping staff had already gone home-I said no problem, I will change the sheets myself. We were out, and arrived back late, and we found that they had left us clean sheets and towels but did not leave us a clean bottom sheet! It was nearly 11 PM so we didn't bother, and just use the second flat sheet to cover the bottom of the bed, and we slept without the blanket since we were not able to double sheet it. The AC unit by the way it was very efficient and quiet, so we didn't have issues with the room being stuffy. There is a small round table and two chairs in addition to writing desk. There is a sink outside of the bathroom which I found very convenient. There is a very small refrigerator-it's OK but it was too small to accommodate my blue ice packs in the freezer! But for what we paid, approximately $85 for the queen room including taxes and free parking! It's a decent deal.

Really comfortable hotel that is a great deal for the price. Tropical setting adds to your comfort. Restaurant serves decent food. Bar not so much. Older crowd and outdated but can enjoy happy hours munchies and cocktails at the pool. Nice!

Overall this hotel is nice.. price wise is excellent, probably the cheapest best western in town.. not far from downtown and other locations like the mall.. plenty of restaurants around.. I would recommend this place.. definitely would stay again if the price is right.

There were ants in the bathroom and shower area. The hand soap and towel were used before our arrival!! I let the front desk know and they said that the maintenance/housekeeping will be informed but with only one night reservation, I do not know it the issue was resolved!

This was beyond disappointing. For $200 a night (for two people), you get a room that is so tiny you cannot put a suitcase on the floor and have to walk single line. Bathroom door didn't close shut. The room was very very dirty, carpet stained, dirty smears and stains on walls, doors, A/C. Room smelled of dirty carpet and dust. No microwave. NO BREAKFAST. I have stayed at Motel 6 once that was nicer and cleaner. This is exact same amenities like Motel 6 advertising themselves as more. Stay away.

Nothing good to say about this hotel. Horrible parking, un-accomodating staff, out-dated, dirty room, thin towels, broken outlets and light fixtures, dirty floor with torn carpet, double beds are more like twin size (how is that even possible?!) & room was so small it barely allowed walking around the beds. Photos of pool on website are not accurate & when I canceled the room, it was an hour long hassle!

Unfortunately I had to be on Coronado for business the week of Comicon, so most hotels in the area were way out of budget. The company forced me to get as close as possible without being too far away, which landed me here. In my mind if a hotel room door opens to the outside (these do), it's a motel and I prefer not to stay in motels. There was a stand up shower (no tub) with very short walls and fabric curtain that turned the bathroom floor into a puddle if you weren't careful with the curtain. Also, my reservation was for a queen bed, but I wound up in a full which was inconsequetial since I was alone. Aside from that this place was pretty nice. There was a decent selection of food from the restaurant and the food was delicious.

My fiancée and I stayed here while we attended Comic Con and paid almost $300 per night. I wouldn't pay more than $100 per night for this level of hotel, so I can only assume they inflated the price for the event. Our room was clean, although stray hairs in the bathroom, and the housekeeping staff did a good job of tidying during the stay. However the entire hotel, room & amenities, are outdated (90's). There is a musty smell everywhere - room, restaurant, lounge. Our clothes even picked up the smell. There are no amenities in the room other than internet. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had an issue where our swipe card stopped working on the third night. When we went to the desk they replaced it, but never asked to see either of our IDs to confirm we were the actual room occupants. That was a huge miss in my book - anyone can just get access to a room by saying their card doesn't work? There's also nothing around this hotel, including convenience stores, so if you want to be close to things in San Diego this isn't the one to book. Luckily Comic Con offered a free daily shuttle, so we were able to use that to get to the Gas Lamp district in about 20 minutes.

I was hesitant to choose this location so near a busy freeway but I was pleasantly surprised to have a very quiet experience- both from the highway noise and nearby rooms. It was the July 4th weekend but this property was calm which was a relief. They grounds are card for and attractive. The rooms are quite basic but comfortable.

The hotel was nice, but a little pricey for what you get. The hotel was clean, except we found some glasses dirty, at the restaurant. At night, it can get noisy near the pool area. We had a room at the pool and once you open the door, you hear the noise. Inside the room, you really don't hear it.

My family and I stayed here for 1 night July9th for a small vacation to sea world. I didn't know what I should have expected because I got this room for only 100$ while everything else was 150 and above. The room was clean. I was actually scared to get bed bugs but thankfully that didn't happen. The staff was very friendly . They allowed me to check in as soon as I arrived @12:15pm. The reason its not a 5 star review is because it wasn't a wow room. It was just good. Some of the furniture is kinda torn up. But I would definitely come back. The beds were very comfortable.

I stayed here for a few days in San Diego for a friend's wedding and it was great. The location was great (near the freeway, near shopping, near restaurants). The parking lot was a good size. There was a pool (I didn't use it, but I saw a bunch of families using it and enjoying it). My room was clean and a good size (standard size for an American motel). I don't remember how much I paid, but I remember it being fairly reasonable. The hotel was also a 10-30 minute drive from a bunch of San Diego attractions (Seaworld, Zoo, Airport). It's not a fancy hotel, but for a motel that I came back to sleep at night, it was good. It could feel a little dark and unsafe at night, but I don't think it was an unsafe location or unsafe hotel (just not as well lit at night). There's also a 24 hour restaurant onsite, but I never tried it.

I booked this hotel as we were arriving on July 4th and this was one of only a few hotels available in the area we wanted to be near. So the prices were higher than usual(i think) so that wasn't so great, but every hotel was high priced that night, so not concerned about this. What I was most displeased about is that this hotel seemed to be quite outdated. I mean, this property was probably once very beautiful , but it just seems run down now. The rooms were clean, but there were ants all over the fridge and bathroom counter(yuck). They ended up getting in my suitcase because I had it on the floor. None of the other suitcases were bothered by them as they were on the chair and shelving but the beds were clean(and bug free) which is the main part. There isn't much room, so wouldn't have wanted to travel with any more people. Overall alright, but definitely nothing to write home about. It served its purpose!

Great location on Hotel Circle Dr... easy to find and easy to get to the freeway. We got in a little early and they had a room for us to check in early. Israel was great at the front desk. Room was great for the 2 of us and the refrigerator was a big plus. My son enjoyed the pool. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit!

Great family hotel, room was fine. A little damp but clean and was fine for 2 ad 2 children. Complex was nice and well kept. Staff were really nice and helpful. Short walk from mission bay shopping malls and bus stopped straight outside the hotel but we hired a car so we explored the areas surrounding.

Good location, clean and affordable hotel. The setup is like motel, but you get what you pay for. Guest parking and internet are free. Not far from the mission beach and other attraction. No breakfast though.

The room was clean but basic. If you have a "mobility challenge" inform them in advance as there are no lifts to the rooms on the upper floor. It is a short drive to Bilbao Park and San Diego Zoo and 10 minutes to Ocean/ Mission Bay. Staff in the restaurant were pleasant and helpful. Parking is free.

Affordable and nice for a family. Quickly fixed the maintenance issue as soon as it was reported. Liked that you could order room service. My son and I enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. Beautiful landscaping

Door locks NEVER worked right. Had to get new keys EVERY time. 5 sets of keys (cards) during my 4 night stay. Problem was the lock, not the cards, but nobody cared or did anything to fix it. They all insinuated that I demagetized the card each time. But I held the cards in my hand, not in my wallet, directly from the front desk to the room. Never more than 1 card ever worked at a time, and then only once. Had to get a new card each time I wanted to go to my room....Other than that, the hotel was fine, clean but needed just a little TLC

The room space was tight but comfortable, clean and the decor was attractive. The staff was polite and accommodating. The courtyard was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Best Western to our friends.

Filthy dirty, odorous, BYOB (blanket) because they use flat sheets in lieu of quilts/comforters; old, rough, and dingy towels that used to be white fifteen years ago; the bathtubs fill with water while taking showers (we had 3 rooms and yep! It happened in every room); cigarette smoke poured into our room through the one air vent which was in the bathroom - is that legal to have only one? This place was a nightmare! We will never stay here again! Just disgusting!!

My stay was not great. The staff is not courteous and they don't care about your needs. I had called the hotel 3x to remind them of adjoining rooms with teammates in advance. They also told me to call that morning before check in to make sure that need had been met. They assured me it was met and everything was fine. We get there and they claimed there are no adjoining rooms (when our room had a door to adjoin) and that my teammates room was 8 doors down. They clearly did not do their job. There is a younger guy who had a smug look on his face the whole time when it came to that issue and questioning my bill. I was given misinformation and I needed it to be explained. He kept giving one word answers or 3 word sentences. Unprofessional. When i wanted to try their breakfast, they seemed to not care for my quick questions. They wanted me to rush things and sit down and eat when I wanted to take it to go. It's not worth the stay. The room served our needs but not worth the stay. We even called down for more towels and they claimed housekeeping was on break for 45 minutes and we wouldn't be getting any towels. Um, there should always be one person available to help any customers out. Anyway, I do not recommend!

This is a nice large Bestwestern, a little aged, but always clean and friendly staff. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was surprisingly good. Check out and check in were as speedy as you could expect.

Don't wear a brand new swim suit! The pool will eat it up and the manager won't talk to you when you try to get some help for it. It was so much that even after to washes of my hair I could still smell the chlorine. My son's skin was itching for days!

I came to San Diego for vacation hoping to relax. All of the employees were very nice and friendly. My room was very clean. The cafe had delicious food and I enjoyed the bar and hot tub. However, the toilet in my room barely flushed. The AC unit was very noisy. Housekeeping was so loud in the morning and sometimes knocked on my door even though I had a do not disturb sign in place. Along with that, they were trimming their trees starting at 8:00am for about three or four days. It was also noisy at night with other guests slamming doors and drinking outside of my hotel room. This happened every night for two weeks. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep on this vacation. It isn't the safest feeling environment at night either. Despite being impressed by some things I experienced, I would not recommend staying at this location. I wish I would have booked elsewhere for a more care-free, relaxing vacation.

Close to everything we wanted to see/do, staff was friendly and accommodating, restaurant service was spotty during the week but good for the weekend, food at restaurant was good but pricey, well-maintained for older hotel, mattress was dated and not the most comfortable, pool and hot tub were clean and well-kept

Convenient location off of I-8 freeway, short drive from the airport within short driving distance to beaches and local attractions. Local shopping mall and restaurants in the area also. Attractive grounds on the property with a tropical vibe, restaurant and lounge on site adjacent to front desk and pool area.

Always enjoy staying here. The room is comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to everything you would want to do or see while in San Diego. The hotel is family friendly witha pool and free wifi to keep everyone busy.

Every year for the past three years I travel to San Diego for about 10-days for work. Every time I stay at the Best Western Seven Seas because of their location. Walking distance to shopping at Fashion Valley and Mission Valley malls. Plenty of food options within 5-10 minutes via car. Hotel is located right off the expressway and you don't even hear the noise. 10-minutes to get to the airport. What more can you ask for? The room I stayed in and the outside of the hotel has been updated. The bed was big and comfortable and comes with a small mini refrigerator to hold drinks. Laundry facility available with coin operated machines. Just go to the front desk and exchange for a roll of quarters. The only thing I can think of which probably needs replacing are the old air conditioning and heating units which are floor units. They are quite loud and probably not energy efficient. However, I did not use it every day since the weather is quite pleasant during my stay.

The hotel had a superb location, just seconds from I8 E or W. Within minutes, you can get to the Fashion Valley Mall and many other shopping and restaurants. Via I8, you can head to major attractions such as Sea World, Point Loma etc. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful, very well kept gardens with really large trees. They keep the light out of the rooms, but they are so beautiful you just let that go. Breakfast is not included, however, the prices are not bad in the main restaurant and the service is pretty good. The rooms are a little bit on the small side, and they come with a Queen bed, instead of a King. But overall, it was comfortable enough for me. Front desk staff was a little robotic, nothing wrong with that, but was just different. Overall, I liked my experience and I would stay again.

I just wanted relaxing time but it was cinstant arguing next door. I already dislike conjoined rooms but they were loud n in and out and disturbing. Other than that Great Restuarant and Bar! Great Pool! Great Staff!!

Overall, a fine place to stay while in San Diego. Just know that there is no complimentary breakfast and NO microwave in the room. There is a mini-fridge. It is a $10 per day charge to have a microwave brought to the room. The Waffle Spot at the Kings Inn, just down the road, is a good place for breakfast. Landscaping is nice here, as well as the pool, hot tubs, and the ping pong table was a fun alternative. I didn't use the Fitness Room, but it seemed nicely outfitted and several people were using it.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights for an extended weekend. We arrived shortly after check-in time, and waited about 20 minutes to be helped. However, upon check-in the staff upgraded our room because of our wait, and it was free! Overall, the room was average for the price that we paid. It was clean and had the basic amenities covered. The decor was pretty outdated, and felt slightly unwelcoming. We did not have any noise issues despite the location of the hotel. This hotel is located close the freeway, and just minutes from tourist locations such as downtown San Diego, San Diego Zoo, and large shopping mall. Parking was free, which was a huge plus as other hotels charge per night. The hotel is pretty open (motel style, separated from the lobby and not in one building), but did not feel unsafe during our stay. Overall it was an average room, it covered all basic needs (clean, ok price, easily accessible), however, we would probably stay at another hotel the next time in San Diego.

We were looking for a hotel that was centrally located to most things in San Diego. We had stayed on Hotel Circle before. I am a Best Western rewards member. The Seven Seas is way over priced for how old and worn it is. The bathroom was exceptionally outdated and the water pressure and temperature depended on who else in the building was using water at the time.

I traveled there on business, gut if i were to travel there on personal the best western even seas would be on my list of places to consider staying there again. It would only depend on hoe far it was from where i needed to go

We stayed at the Best Western this past weekend, while in San Diego to go to the Zoo. When we arrived there were some very iffy looking characters trying to check in with out Identification and when they were turned away, they started to become belligerent. I would have to say that while I was a little nervous about staying there with this going on, I feel like the desk staff and security handled the situation pretty well! Our room was a pretty good size, with what were supposed to be 2 queen beds but they really felt like doubles. The nice thing was the sink and vanity were outside of the bathroom but the bathroom itself was VERY small. The tub and shower were in a tiny space and it seems like there could have been a better use of space and that area could have made a little bigger. There was a refrigerator in the room, which would have been helpful if we were staying longer. The beds were actually comfortable and the grounds were nice and tropical feeling. Parking was good, with parking in front of the building so you were close to your room. The staff we encounter were all quite friendly and helpful! Complaints about our stay would be: 1) There were dead gnats on the ceiling of the shower. They were flattened like someone killed them and left them there. Housekeeping failed to notice them and there they were! It was pretty gross!! 2) There were no hooks or anything to help with dry clothes or towels in the bathroom. There was not even a hook on the back of the bathroom door! Every hotel has a hook on the bathroom door! Trying to stick your dry/clean clothes on the back of the toilet sometimes doesn't work And I would prefer to not have my clean clothes fall on the bathroom floor! I would suggest hooks or even a shelf above the toilet to help! 3) We had a Kleenex holder but no Kleenex. Again, something housekeeping should have noticed. 4) There was hair on the back (inside the bathroom) of the door that didn't belong to any of us! It too was pretty gross! Having worked for a hotel in the past, we had our Housekeeping staff wipe down the doors to make sure this didn't happen!! 5) The bath towels were very small and very abrasive. My nephew, who is 10, even commented that they were rough so that says a lot! 6) There were dead bugs or something in the light in the bathroom! **pictures are included We would consider staying here again, depending on what we were doing in San Diego.

San Diego is my favorite place to visit. This hotel is excellent every time I go. It's convenient to everything & not far from the beach area. The rooms are very nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. Price is good even if not booked in advance.

The room that we stayed in had a bad smell. It smelled liked they needed to vacuum or clean the carpets. My allergies were so bad that i couldn't sleep. I tried sleeping on the bathroom floor with door shut. It helped. I had my husband call the front desk for another room. They told him that they were all booked and no more rooms available. I got back in bed had to pull the sheets over my head so that i didn't smell it.

Great place to stay. Room service is over priced for bad food. Pool area was great. Bartender didn't make a good Margarita. Had to take it back. Housekeeping was the best I've seen in ages.Frontdesk was uncaring.

Very disappointed to check in to what was supposed to be a 3 night stay in an ADA compliant room, only to find it not properly accessible AT ALL! We complained and were given keys to another room which was exactly the same as the first and equally accessible. We tried two more times to get an answer to the question of wether they really had a compliant room and were put off both times. (The front desk was always swamped and they would tell us they were going to figure it out and call us and then never did.) We left after one night and stayed at a properly accessible Courtyard by Marriott 3 hotels away.

This is a great Best Western Hotel. Right in the middle of Hotel Circle San Diego. Even includes a nice bar and restaurant. Great parking and easy freeway access. Feels like your're in Shangri-La, due to all of the palm trees and campus like layout

Clean, comfortable room in good location. Easy to get around to area attractions. Great staff. Restraunt on site (although we didn't visit it)Also to cold to swim, but the area and the grounds were very nice. No resort, but terrific value if you're not spending all day in the room. Hope to get back soon!

Let me start out by saying it's an older property that's well taken care of. Some of the other reviews mentioned there are no elevators but that didn't dissuade me. The grounds are like walking around some sort of tropical resort-very lush and tropical. Some travelers would consider the rooms a bit dated in regards to decor but for the money, this is a really great place to stay. Although this is on the south side of the freeway my room in the backside of the second building was very quiet at night!

Great Hotel at a Great price - Great family Hotel, the pool area is a great feature with the restaurant and bar for quick service. Close to shopping mall and dining and ample free parking. 2 hot tubs areas make nice for adults.

My husband and I were in SAN Diego on March 8/9, 2019. We found the motel easily off Highway 8. It's really close to Old Town and easy to get back on the highway. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds were so beautiful and well maintained. I would recommend this if you are not looking for 5 star but a reasonable price. Also the restaurant has really good breakfast.

Very nice motel with clean rooms and nice staff. Loved the palms and the spa. It's located near the highway and have a good self service laundromat with vending machines . But I'll recommend to find another restaurant:-)

Our 3rd stay at 7 seas, first room smelled like perfume and we were moved immediately thanks to Rosario. Weather not too good but still enjoyed hanging out at pool. Location we requested was granted, laundry room excellent grounds are very well kept .Price is a bargain and we will b back for another night in April post cruise!!

First let me say, I'm here for a conference and I work in education so I understand my budget constraints. This hotel is rundown and needs major work in the inside, which is to be expected for the age and price paid. However, safety is an issue. In the late evening I was awoken by a man banging on my door screaming profanities. The doors are so thin I thought he was going to bust the door down! Of course I was completely startled and tried to pick up my phone and call the front desk. The problem was my phone in my room didn't work. So I frantically had to look up on my cell phone the name of the hotel and phone number. In any other circumstance this wouldn't be an issue, and I would use my cell phone. However, I needed emergency assistance! You should be able to pick up your phone in the room and call the lobby. After I finally was able to contact the front desk, I asked for security to be sent out. I waited for half an hour and never heard anything. I didn't get a phone call back or see security. I phoned the front desk again and asked if they had sent anyone out. The lady explained to me she had sent security and they didn't see anything. I proceeded to explain to her that my phone didn't work in my room and she stated she couldn't take care of it until the morning. I then asked to move rooms because I was uncomfortable being on the bottom floor due to what had just happened. She acted like I was bothering her and said I would have to have all of my things out of my room if I wanted to switch rooms. Well, “Of course!”. I will be switching rooms in the morning! Don't stay here! Rude staff, poor accommodations, and unsafe.

The rooms here are very clean and the service was great. Everyone was friendly and even the food here is decent for the price. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of customer service and the room service.

If, when you visit San Diego, you want to be enjoying the outdoors, this is a good choice. The grounds are well kept with many flowers and beautiful trees and shrubs. The rooms are clean and comfy (though a bit small), the location near Fashion Valley is great, and the staff is friendly. Pool is large enough to actually swim in (not a kiddie pee pool). Great rates for the budget-conscious. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent on site or go a few doors down to the street to Bunz a great burger place in the Days Inn. Yummy food and breakfast.

Quiet hotel property. Nicely landscaped. Although it isn't in a location that makes it walkable to any attractions, everything is within a short ride and easy access to the main highways to go in any direction.

I ended up here with an express deal from Priceline: You don't know the identity of the property until after payment has been made. Very happy with the price of $63 per night + tax of about $15. Hotel rooms can be VERY expensive in San Diego. Nice big room with refrigerator. My only peeve is that room did not have a microwave. Motel also has on site restaurant and bar that I patronized.

First I would like to say the staff are very nice, but the room...I arrived and my toilet was running. I tried to stop it by adjusting the float, it wouldn't, tried to turn off the water, but it was rusted shut. They did send a repair man who kindly replaced the whole unit int he tank. Then I started looking for an actual blanket on the bed. I eventually found a very thin ineffective blanket sandwiched between 2 sheets. This would not have been as much of an issue if it weren't extremely cold outside...There was no weatherstripping around my door (and it is an outside facing door) so all the light and COLD AIR came in all night long..as well as the freeway noise and 6am hwy patrol pulling over a car. And since I had no real blanket I had to use my jacket, as there was also no thermostat and the wall unit is blocked by a table and chairs so unknown if it worked. Lastly the ironing board was so wedged between the shelf and the wall, it took me ten minutes to remove it and the iron was so old you could not see any of the settings. I would not stay here again.

We have stayed here many times due to it's affordability and location. Once again, it did not disappoint. This time we were in the last building, farthest from the office. Nice room, very clean and bright. Lots of power to charge devices. Still no breakfast and too far from the pool/hot tubs to do that in cool weather, sadly.

My stay included a car accident outside of the hotel, causing a massive natural gas leak. The hotel was evacuated by the fire department for about three hours. Even with this inconvenience I will book rooms here in the future. This is a quiet multi building low rise hotel conveniently located with great hi way access.

The landscaping is just gorgeous, but the room was just a very old fashioned teeny room. We booked a double bed room and I felt like I went back in time 50 years really. We were tripping over suitcases it was so small, not comfortable. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable, that's about it. If the rooms were bigger and upgraded it would be a lot better. There are many other places at the same price point that have nicer rooms and include breakfast, so this will be my last time there.

It's an older hotel, but our past experience has been very good. This time, light bulbs were burned out and not replaced after we reported the issue. Food in restaurant is average to mediocre. Great food option is Bunz, next door.....

The room was dirty and had blood on the sheets! Mud on the carpet, no microwave! No welcome give for rewards members no comp breakfast and the location ended up be really difficult to find and to navigate away

The good: cheap, good location, restaurant on site. The bad: everything else. My room reaked of smoke (even though it was non smoking(, the carpet looked dirty, and the bathroom tub had definitely not been cleaned. The room had gnats or some sort of flying insect. I cut my two-night stay to one and booked somewhere else. I was disappointed because I've stayed at some very nice Best Westerns (e.g. I'm looking at you BW Bandon, OR) There are so many hotel options in San Diego, in my opinion go somewhere else until major renovations are done.

I was very disappointed in my stay at this Best Western. I usually only stay at Best Western, and I have stayed here and have never had such a bad experience. First impression was awful when I went to check in I was there for business and the girl that checked me and my colleague in was obviously training.....so part of this is not her fault, but the girl that was suppose to be training her kept leaving her and sat in a little cubby off to the side. I am sorry for not using names, but apparently no one wears name tags here. And because it was for business our secretaries name was on the reservation so I could not even apply my Best Western Rewards!!!! The girl that was training did have issues finding the reservation and being able to actually check us in. Then as the stay progresses it wasn't great, but the TV didn't work I called the front they claim it to be the cable company ( it went out about noon ish on Friday and we still didn't have TV on Saturday) and that they were fixing the issue. I went down the street for dinner and guess what they had their cable up???? Weird right so I ask the front desk and they claim it to be a difference on the side of the road, and so I find out if other hotels are having issues.....Nope they had TV. Now I did not stay there for TV, but at some point someone did not do their job in keeping contact with the cable company, and no informing the staff of the real issue. Honestly check out was not even great I asked for an envelope for receipts and the front desk clerk says oh we don't have those well I don't think, and proceeded to open drawers and of course found nothing. There really was not a lot of good I could say about this stay at all.

Great Place Overall. Clean accommodations , affordable rates , and they have a GREAT Jacuzzi! Close to everything you need in San Diego. Zoo, Old Town, Downtown, Beach, all within a 15 minute drive. Great for Travelers or Locals who just a quick stay-cation!

Whenever I travel to San Diego I always stay at the Best Western 7 Seas. This hotel is amazing for so many reasons. The hotel and grounds are absolutely gorgeous!!! So well maintained and beautiful with all the palm trees, vegetation, pool, and hot tubs. The price is always a good and a great value. My check in experience was so easy, the front desk staff is very friendly, professional, and well trained. The rooms are very nice, beds are comfortable, and the decor is warm. They have night security here that watches over everyone's vehicles and the grounds. The restaurant is fantastic!!! You have to have the Apple Fritter French Toast!!! So delicious!! I went into Zach's Bar at night and enjoyed dinner and a beer. The bar is so friendly, nice beer and drink selections, just a fun place to be. This is one of my most favorite hotels to visit!!

Excellent value. Nice and well maintained lobby, grounds, and exterior. For the price, the room is more than adequate. Staff upgraded me to a King room. My only complaint is the room odor, which was a pretty strong, unpleasant chemical smell (not cigarette smoke, but perhaps an industrial cleaner).

My husband and I traveled with family to San Diego and they made the reservations through Hotwire. We were all disappointed to discover free breakfast was not included with our room. The front desk offered to deliver a microwave to our room for an additional $10 but we declined. Our room was in the back building which was quiet and secluded. The room was small but very comfortable and the staff was nice. Morning showers were good and hot, but the one day I showered around 3pm following a morning at the beach, the water began lukewarm and quickly went cold. Was it laundry time? Overall, we had a good stay. If you don't mind not having breakfast provided, and you don't need a lot of space for belongings, I certainly recommend it.

Our annual ship reunion was hosted by Best Western Seven Seas. Very nice hotel with a great staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a restaurant with good quality food. Overall a good place to stay.

Yes it is an older hotel but very clean. The staff is like family extremely friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you have the best stay possible. From the kitchen staff house cleaning maintenance and grounds staff they do everything to make this a great stay.

I made reservations over the phone, the person put down the wrong date, when I checked in the person at the desk said I would only be charged for the night I stayed, the charge has not been reversed. I tried calling the desk several times today and no one answered the phone. The toilet leaked and about every 20 to 30 minutes would refill which would wake me up. The room had the an old building musty smell, the bath room was very small. The room does not come with a breakfast.

The Best Western Seven Seas in Hotel circle in the Mission Beach area of San Diego close to the freeway entrance. This puts you 15 minutes from downtown, the beach, the zoo, sea world, and SDCCU stadium. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The pool and hot tubs were very nice, and cafe restaurant was reasonably priced with good food

We had a wonderful night in San Diego. The check in process was quick. The room was very nice. We we able to find parking for our oversized pickup truck in the lot. The staff was helpful and wanted to make our stay nice.Even though this hotel is right next to the freeway, we did not hear any freeway noise.

The place was great and perfect to stay in. Definitely will be coming back soon.They have Heated Pools and Jacuzzi areas , they have outside Resort Style patios and Excersize area is very nice , Pool table and Pingpong table and Restaurant and Lounge area.

There is no continental breakfast or microwave included in this Best Western. That's probably why it was cheaper than the other one I looked at. The refrigerator was not only not turned on, it was unplugged, as we sadly learned.

We wanted to originally stay at the hard rock but decided to be more economical. This hotel was such a great bargain I'll definitely stay here for my next visit. Pool was awesome, house keeping was wonderful. Thank you 7seas!

This retro design motel resort is a pleasure to stay at. This is an oasis in San Diego. The layout of the property is immaculately landscaped and the pool area is at the center of the hotel activity. They do not build them like they used to. What an enjoyable place to stay for business.

Stayed at the Seven Seas for three nights en route to Los Angeles and San Francisco, yes it could do with updating but you get what you pay for. Hotels near to the city centre are much more expensive and it only cost 9 dollars in an uber to the harbour plus the bus terminus is only ten minutes walk with frequent travel to the centre. Our stay was comfortable and the staff helpful and polite, no problems with the room It was clean and roomy and you also have free on site parking which is a bonus. A couple of small swimming pools if you would like a relaxing dip and well kept gardens throughout the location. On site restaurant and bar which we didn't use as we were out early and back late. Easy to find just off the freeway would definitely stay again when visiting the area.

You cannot even walk, forget about placing your suitcases, though they charge extra for double room, the size remians the same. Apart from the room size, baby crib requested but no response from the front desk. pathetic service. rooms are clean

First time i stay here. It is an older place, but kept well and clean. Quiet and friendly atmosphere actually really inviting, great for families with kids, good restaurant reasonably priced, nice pool area, I'm really happy with this find and will definitely stay here again found it on Hotwire for $82

This is a 1960's era resort motel, a bit out dated but comfortable and reasonably priced, convenient and with free parking. The old in room air conditioner did it's best, still struggling along as it continues to age. Front desk service was just average. TV reception was minimal; we did need to have maintenance come in to get it connected. In room coffee & tea is absolute minimum.

Warning:. Do not stay here if you have kids or simply don't mind having others watch you in your room through peepholes. Oct 13th to 16th stay. Peephole discovered above light, which is above sink in room 507. Sheriff's Dept. Notified at 830 am next morning. Staff didn't care and in fact smirked as though they didn't believe it. Corporate responded by email to my complaint stating that since credit card company agreed to reverse charges and police had been contacted, they weren't going to pursue matter, implying somehow that I shouldn't have "told in them". Absolutely gross! You have been warned! Stay at own risk! I will update further once the police investigation has completed. Check out the pics of the room, 507. Attached.

We stayed one night, to catch our flight back home. Because was cheap, we rented the room for 2 nights because our flight departed at 9pm. We left the hotel at 6pm. At 6:15 we were dropping off our rented car and tooked the airport shuttle and did check in to our flight at 6:35pm, so it's really close, even at rush hour. The rooms are littles, but clean and comfortable. There are pleanty of parking lots. There is a pool, which close at 10pm but they have a hot tub outside the pool area that close at 3am. The Cafe, inside the hotel, it's good and we receive a 15% off coupon when check in. Even the hotel (like all others in the area) its close to the higway, we had no noise problem, dont know if was because our room, were at the middle of 300's building. We felt safe at place all time.The green areas are really well maintained. BTW, all the street its surrounded by hotels and it's called Hotel Circle. Its very close to the Convention Center (1 minute drive, maybe 10 walking). Fashion Valley Mall by 5 minutes driving and Old Town little more. Sea World and Mission Beach its close too, just a little more than the previous mentioned.

Rooms are NOT what is pictured on the website! Cold showers (2 different rooms) rooms were tiny! Bath tub dripping all night! Walls to thin you could hear the highway and the person snoring in the next room! Mini refrigerator would freeze everything even when hardly on. In need of major renovation!

I spent three nights at the Seven Seas in early October. My room, and the bed especially, were comfortable...I slept like a log each night. I ate in the on-site restaurant when I first arrived - I didn't have a car and had just flown in from Las Vegas, so with the added incentive of the discount coupon given to me at check-in, using the restaurant just next door was a no brainer. I was greeted warmly in the restaurant by a man who I took to be the manager/owner, who was charming and eager to please. I have to say that the food was good and plentiful, and reasonably priced. The only downside was the presence of a family of four who occupied a corner table. The mother in particular was very loud, and at one point announced to the restaurant in general that she had been drinking since 7:30 that morning (by this time it was around 8:30pm)...and I'm afraid it showed! You will hear some noise from other rooms, but to me that wasn't a big deal, and almost inevitable. I tried carefully not to make noise myself when I checked out at 5am to catch my early flight, but apologies to anyone I may have disturbed at stupid o'clock! I didn't use any of the facilities such as the pool, gym or hot tub, but they all looked clean and well maintained. The vending machines were reasonably priced. The whole look of the hotel is pleasant, with winding paths and palm trees, with the backdrop of a large hill behind. The location is good. Like I said, I didn't have a car, but used Uber to get me to wherever I wanted to be. Nowhere seemed to be that far away, so fares were cheap. I think the longest journey I made was from the Hotel Del Coronado back to the Seven Seas, which cost me around $17 for the 17 minute journey. I only have a couple of minor gripes, that didn't affect my stay, but it would be nice if they could be addressed: - I think I recall reading other reviews that mentioned the strange odour in reception. I'm not sure what it was, but it's not very welcoming when your first port of call at the hotel is the reception desk. It doesn't create a great first impression, and leads you to wonder what the rest of the place may be like (it's fine, by the way!) - I don't know if the same is true in all rooms, but in mine the TV remote had been replaced with the generic kind that I've seen in a couple of other hotel rooms before. I assume this is due to the actual remotes for the TV having been stolen, or to prevent their theft. The only problem is that these remotes only control on/off, volume, and allow you to step consecutively through the channels. This is fine, but means there is no way of pulling up a list of channels to see TV schedules, instead to have to just go from channel to channel until you find something you want to watch! Again, just a minor annoyance, and not something that would stop me from staying there again. Overall, I enjoyed the few days I spent at the Seven Seas, and in the beautiful city of San Diego. I would have no problem staying there again.

It's a motel—clean but not particularly sparkling—but it does the job. Very well located. The cafe is surprisingly good and very reasonably priced, with a nice patio to sit on. Friendly housekeeping staff.

Great place to stay, good location, very well maintained hotel. There is onsite restaurant, laundry room with vending machines, pool , hot tubs , exercise room, bar with pool table. Service was good , the room was clean comfortable and had a fridge and coffee maker. Recommended

We stay here twice a year and everyone makes us welcome and like family. Great restaurant and Zack's bar is a fun place with great happy hour prices,The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff wonderful. The pool is sparking clean and a great place to relax, this is definitely a great family style hotel, located close to everything.

Beautiful grounds and gardens once you check in you are in Paradise. Welcoming staff from the front desk to the hospitality to the maintenance. Pool area largest in the area you don't feel like you are on top of the other guests.

Enjoyed a relaxing stay at this Best Western facility. They were very accommodating when my husband requested a room where we could get some quiet and rest after a long vacation. Our room was set away from the pool activities and high traffic areas. Room was clean, spacious and bathroom was clean and easy to access. We were on the go but the swimming pool and hot spa looked very inviting. We had breakfast one morning, service was quick and prices were reasonable. Have been very pleased with our stays at the Best Westerns we used during our travels.

My uncle (DS) used to manage this hotel in the 90's. Although he passed away a few years ago, he would be very pleased to see how well this place is doing. They've made some tremendous renovations and is one of the best values in the San Diego area. It is centrally located in Mission Valley which is only 10-15 minutes away from the beach, the zoo, balboa park, San Diego Harbor? the airport and many other attractions. The rooms are ample size, nicely decorated with comfy beds. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. What's more to like?! ?? I've stayed at other hotels in the Mission Valley area and this is the one I keep coming back to recommend to all my friends. Nice job folks!!!

Took a chance on a low rate hotel in an area where hotel quality has been in decline. I was looking for a low room rates as my highest priority. Went on Travelocity and found the room rates for the Seven Seas to be very attractive and the reviews mostly good. I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem. It was a very comfortable stay and this has become my "go to" hotel.

We stopped here for 3 nights on our recent road trip around California, upon arriving at 3pm the room was not ready, fair enough check-in was 4pm.. Queues at the check in desk were long so queued again only to be told at 3:50pm that the room was not ready.. 4:05pm still not ready... now I am paying for a room I cannot have! So we finally get the room and the Air con is turned off, the fridge is turned off and the room smells musty. I would save your $$ and book another place to stay. I will not be returning and I am pretty forgiving.

We arrived at this hotel a little early for check in so we went to get some essentials from the supermarket. We arrived back at the hotel for the 4 pm check in to be told it would be another 30 minutes before they had a room for us. When you state that's it's a 4 pm check in you have the rooms ready for 4 pm not 4.15 or 4.30. This shows me how much they regard their customers/guests. The room was clean and tidy but we had booked a deluxe room and we were not happy to see an adjoining door to the next room as we have experienced these before when we hear everything from the next room and I expect they hear everything from our room. If they want to cut energy costs then move the table away from the front of the a/c unit and let it work properly and don't mess about turning fridges off as they will run for longer to get cold again. Found the noise to be rather overbearing at times with guests stomping along the walkways and slamming doors at all hours if the night. Housekeeping seems to be scarce on the ground at this hotel at times. If we are in San Diego again I doubt we will pick this hotel again. It seems that Best Western has a special training course for front desk staff in how to be rude and unhelpful and to treat the guest as an problem rather than the reason for them having a job as this is the second Best Western we have encountered this poor service from front desk staff. All in I would not and could not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a fantastic Anniversary here! We took beautiful tropical pictures, got to swim, and relax :) Great staff at check in especially hard time of LABOR DAY WEEKEND. We were disappointed with Bar service/lack there of. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel

Nice decent priced hotel near Seaworld San Diego. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Never spent much time at the hotel but great location and clean at a decent price. Pool area looked nice and clean although we never used it. Would be a 5 on the rating if they offered breakfast.

My room was perfect upon check-in. Each day when I returned after a long day in the sun, the room was again clean and every detail in perfect order. Little things like towels folded specially and coffee supplies well stocked were greatly appreciated.

Nice cozy hotel, Ideal location close to Sea world and San Diego Zoo. Also, enjoyed the day trip to old town and dining and enjoying the authenticate Mexican food. Good location and attraction for Family.

As soon as I walked in, the room was HOT. The AC wasn't running (probably hadn't been since the last occupants left, whenever that was) even though it had easily gotten into the high 80s that day. Luckily, my fiancee and I were going to dinner right after check-in, so we turned on that AC and let it cool down while we were gone. Even with the AC going, it didn't seem to get very cool in the room. It got cool enough to be able to sleep. Beds were average; glad we were just staying there one night. I think that it's a good place to crash if you're only going to be in San Diego for a night - any longer, and it would probably be worth it to find a better place.

Only good thing about this hotel is location, but Im sure that any other at hotel circle is better than this BW!! Dirty, lots of bugs and flies ... and definetly outdated! Parking lot too busy at night, hard To find a spot near the room, and way too noisy specially mornings! Not Worth the price at all.

This hotel was booked by our organization for business travel 8/11-12/18. Unfortunately, they had 8/10-8/11 for my colleague and the hotel was booked. That was not their fault. However, I asked for a room with two beds so my colleague would have a place to stay and we could prepare for our class the next day. They said they didn't have a room with two beds and we'd have to wait to check in while they asked each person with reservations if they would switch with us. I never heard such a suggestion. So we found a nearby hotel and booked her a room. When I checked in, the desk person asked did I want a first or second floor and was able to find a room in a quiet area. If she could find different rooms, she could have found a room with two beds. When I got to the room, it smelled extremely musty. The smell hit as I opened the door. The AC was off and when it was on, it didn't work properly. I had it at 66 all night and it barely kept the room cool. As stated in the title, I would not go back. I reported the experience to our organization and they don't plan to use this hotel again.

Excellent hotel. Staff are all extremely nice and helpful. Pool is great. Warm all the time. Restaurant had decent diner like food and hotel gives you all the 15% off coupons you want to eat there. Rooms were a little bit small for a family of four but it was definitely doable. Parking lot is safe and secure and we had plenty of room to park a big truck. Parking is free. Very central location just a few min. Drive to any tourist attraction.

Stayed in 300 building. Very quiet despite being close to the freeway. Comfortable yet small room. Others have complained about dirty rooms; that was not our experience. The air conditioner is very loud but very effective. There were palms growing between steps leading up to the room; it was evident they were trimmed, but one still had to watch one's step (I only mention in case stairs are difficult for someone; an additional issue might make one decide to request a first-floor room). The pool and jacuzzi were clean and salt water! Not the greatest hotel we've ever stayed in, but at the right price, we'd return in a heartbeat.

Where to start? The door has about a 2 inch gap from the bottom. Found roaches through out the room. Wall paper is peeling, floor dirty, found a pair of woman's underwear in drawer, AC is incredibly loud and after staying here I went to pack up and found 3 large spiders in my suitcase. Don't even think of staying here. I wore my flip flops just to take a shower. Towels had lipstick stains. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place.

don't expect clean rooms at this hotel. Not only where the rooms very small and tight basic cleanliness was not met. It was obvious that the housekeeper's only Remade the beds and folded the toilet paper to make it appear as if it had been properly cleaned. There was dust everywhere there was old makeup on the blow dryer there was soap residue on the shower here on the floor one of the doors was broken. Housekeeping was chit-chatting amongst themselves in front of the room making it impossible to sleep. The only nice person at this hotel was a security guard.

I've stayed at this property a few times in San Diego. While the doors do not properly fit and the rooms are not the cleanest it was more out of convenience than anything. Three weeks ago I stayed at this property and they charged me for an extra night. I gave them weeks to respond. I have given the management at this hotel and the accounting weeks to respond but they haven't even tried. I've left emails, voice mails, and one person in accounting said they would get back to me. I have now wasted hours on this issue.

Nice indoor gym and swimming pool. The landscaping was beautiful alor of trees. No problems with the hotel room. Beds were comfy about 10 mins from Ocean Beach and Mission Bay/Belmont Park. They have glass cups for water inside the room instead of plastic disposable cups but I honestly perfer disposable cups.

We love visiting San Diego... This hotel has bright spots like the quiet rooms away from the busy Hotel Drive and a great tropical feeling plus great pool.. But the rooms need an update and you can hear everything in the next room as well as when they flush etc.. But considering how expensive hotels are here in the area.. An ok deal. And very clean.. So that's a plus.. It's good I am a heavy sleeper.

They offer quality service. The owner does a cookout for preferred guests every Wednesday. The front desk immediately call maintence on the radio when you report an issue to them and they tell you sorry about the inconvience.

I had to stay for a 2 week training at this Seven Seas Best Western. I actually stayed in the same hotel about 10 years ago. The hotel has aged and looks a little worn down. I didnt spend much time at the hotel due to the training i had to complete. However, room service was amazing. My room was immaculate everyday. The AC didnt get very cold but San Diego weather was nice! The beds and pillows were excellent.

This was the worst! I checked out early as the A/C units were not working very well, and they were noisy! The small refrigerator did not work well either. The steps you had to use if you were on the second floor there were bushes and branches growing through the slats in the steps. there was no elevator at all. As we were leaving there was a hose draped over the handrails on the steps which I had to move so none of us would trip! I will never stay there again!

On a good note, this place has nice hot water, the AC keeps the room nice and cold, the staff are helpful, room service seemed to be very efficient, the beds are comfortable enough, and the one meal I had here was pretty good. On the flip side, our room had bugs (most likely due to the gaping crack around the door), a lot of the outlets did not work, the tub always looked like it had sand in the bottom, and the carpeting looks like it is in bad need of replacement. Solely based on my experience, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I get my best deals for this hotel on hotwire. The staff is great. Rooms are clean and include a mini fridge. Their is a good restaurant with a great breakfast on site. Has a Jacuzzi, pool, washer, dryer, ice machine

Average hotel with horrible service. Came to check in at 3pm was told check in is at 4pm, no big deal. Pre checked in and went to get something to eat. Came back 5:15pm was told room still was not ready asked if they could give me a time it would be ready or just call me. Front desk girl said couldn't call me but to check back later. Came back at 545 room was finally ready. Quiet room clean needs to be updated. Checked out next day9am. Later that day found out they billed my credit card 3 times but it was still pending. This hotel is in dire need of a face lift and staff training.

This hotel is located such that it's fairly easy to get to most parts of San Diego. The hotel is a little older, but it is kept up well. Food at the diner is a little on the expensive side (NO CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST!!), but the staff are friendly. The room we were in was clean and wasn't too noisy.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed at. The cleaning service is horrible. They don't replace all the towels. You have bugs flying around the room. The restaurant has the slowest excuse making employees. I called for room service and the phone rang for 3 minutes. I hung up and called again they picked up and said wait. I waited for another 3 minutes. I hung up and called again but the busy signal was on. I called the front desk since they are literally five steps from each other. They claimed that the restaurant might be busy but they can transfer my call over to them. I said that if they are that busy no need to have room service. I was transferred and the phone rang over and over. I left brushed my teeth and washed my face. Came back and still ringing. I hung up and called again. 3 minutes later No answer. I put on my clothes and went down there to the restaurant. There were about 5 tables with customers; didn't seem busy to me. They took my order, I paid, the change from my money was sat in front of me on the counter and nothing was said. "Ma'am this is your change." If I handed you my money to pay I expect to get it handed back. No one acknowledged me standing there waiting on my order. Not even the manager. The manager and a couple of the employees are older in age. If customer service can't be satisfactory at answering the phones or assisting customers, more younger employees should be hired for this type of business. I know by experience because I am active duty military who works in supply department. My job is all about customer service and morale. I went to the front desk and asked about a complainant form, they said if the complaint is with the restaurant then they have it. I went to the restuarant and they said the front desk has it. I stood in the door separating the two businesses in the same building and told them to speak to one another because I'm not going back and forth. They spoke and mentioned to me that the only complaint form was online. So here I am complaining about this establishment and how customer service is not a priority for them!

The room was very narrow and subpar. We did not feel comfortable during our three day stay. The pool was crammed with kids and there was no breakfast. The property looks quite old or at least not modern at all. Cleaning crew was very efficient. It has a tiny little gym room by the pool used to store towels for swimmers. It looks like a motel more than a three star hotel and I doubt I'd stay there for a vacation again.

We got this hotel because it is located one exit off I-8 from hwy 163 which goes through Balboa Park. The San Diego Zoo and many museums are located in the park. The hotel was old style with doors to the outside, but it was clean and large enough to be comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful with suggestions and directions. Breakfast was not included, but we eat there and the food was good. They gave 15% discount on lunch and dinner. The location was quiet and you did not have to pay for parking.

We stayed here for 3 nights and I'm not sure I would want to stay here ever again. The room was clean, but the service was subpar. The cleaning staff forgot to replace our towels the first day, so no towels... after 2 calls and about an hour wait we got them. The second day our room was not even made... they never came to make our room. We needed to warm something and call the front desk to see if they had a microwave we could use as there wasn't one in the room, and the staff seemed to be offended by the request. I don't recommend this place.

Over the years I've stayed here a few times. Reasonably priced for San Diego and they do no charge for parking which is important to me. Two story, no elevators, beautifully landscaped property. I had a room hidden behind trees which I liked. Room is clean and updated. Not a large room but comfortable. Comfy bed and standard size pillows. Enough plugs for charging on the lamps. Two chairs and a table. Dresser with TV on top. Lots of sports channels. Small refrigerator with small area for freezer. Check in was good. Employees were friendly. Made was efficient. When first coming in the layout is confusing, which takes a day to get used to. Pool and hot tubs were good. There isn't a free breakfast. Restaurant prices are high, for an average restaurant. Food is high in San Diego, They do give you one coupon, which the restaurant collects, for 15% off. Not much on this side of Hotel Circle in the way of restaurants. I had one supper and one breakfast. They had been open for a while at breakfast but it seemed disorganized. There was a line to check out and in and one person working, not in much of a hurry. Not very attentive to guests. I do like the motel just wish there was more variety of food in the area. Vending machines by the laundry do not work with paper money.

We were on vacation in Southern California & stayed 2 days at the Seven Seas. It was close to Old Town, where we wanted to catch the trolley. All transit is handy there also. The motel as been updated. Clean swimming pool & hot tub. Very friendly staff..Free parking.

Stayed at this place with work for a week. I've been here 1 night so far. The rooms are typical motel style rooms spread around the complex. The housekeepers are Hispanic and the noisiest I've ever experienced. They have to work and chat loudly constantly. If they're not cleaning they are on mobiles outside your room even though you have a do not disturb sign displayed. Sometimes people do like to sleep. The hotel is right off the Interstate and has a cafe and outdoor pool. Fashion Valley mall is around the corner and Pacific Beach is a $16 uber ride away.

nice hotel , quiet and clean we spent a quiet weekend there what was really neat was the hot tub / jacuzzi close to room what would have made it nicer would have been pool towels at the hot tub no complaints will stay again

We stayed at the BWSS for a conference June 12-15. The check in process was crowded but went quickly. The desk staff were extremely helpful and informative. The room was slightly small, but plenty clean and comfy. We were on the bottom floor which was nice (we could park five feet from the room) but also meant that people were constantly walking by the only window to the room. A cleaning worker saw me in my underwear, so I apologize to her here. For the price, this site gets the job done and is very reasonable. There are two jacuzzis and a pool, it's also within walking distance to three malls and a couple movie theaters. 10 minute drive to downtown. I'd stay here again.

We checked in here for four nights before moving to our apartment in San Diego, this hotel is in hotel circle, so not many bars & and restaurant are around, but it's 20 mins walking distance to fashion valley, so if you love shopping, do take advantage of that! The Zacks bar in the hotel has happy hour every day from 4 to 7, we really liked that.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Seven Seas as they offered a fitness center, outdoor heated pool, dining, and just a stone's throw from the Fashion Valley Trolley Station and Mall! Very clean accomodations and nice staff.

Very clean room, beautiful grounds with colorful flowers and many trees, friendly front desk; towels resupplied even though we didn't expect that. Surprised by no microwave and the price quoted by customer care was $125 not the $80 I saw on line! My Spring Rewards vouchers brought it back down but didn't give me any advantage. Waiter in restaurant was extremely nice; only get a 15% off bill for one meal; no breakfast provided. Took only 15 minutes to get to the Midway Carrier.

Short version: Overall, for the rate I got this place, it was a nice and comfortable stay. We were out of the room all day... left by 9 am, back around 10 pm, basically only used this room to sleep and get ready in the mornings. It is close by to all the parks and attractions we came to do. Long version: Stayed at this place for 5 nights for our vacation. The hotel itself does look older, but everything is well maintained. The landscaping is very nice! We arrived on a sunday about 1 hour before check in, decided to see if we could check in early... no dice. Took a quick trip to the mall across the way to kill some time, came back at 4 to a line of other guests checking in/out, but the ladies working reception were quick, efficient and polite. Didn't have to wait long. Room first impressions: SMALL, but workable. The double bed rooms come with full sized beds, not queen... that was slightly annoying, but whatever. The room did show it's age but, again, they're well maintained. The beds were comfortable enough. The place seemed fairly busy but we could not hear any outside noise in our room. The closet and sink/counter space were ample... enough for 3 over-packers to have their fair share of space. The mini fridge under the sink is a little TOO mini, enough room for a couple of beverages and 1 squished standard sized take out box. The bathroom was small and clean... The shower head was either new or freshly cleaned, the water pressure was decent and there was always plenty of hot water. The shower curtain is just an inch shy on either side of fully closing so if you're not careful, could make a bit of a mess with the water spilling out. Parking was awesome, the whole week we were able to find a space right in front of our room! No parking fee either, which is what swayed us to stay here instead of the days inn next door. One day we had to print some tickets, used the computers available to guests by the front desk. Unfortunately the printer was out of ink but one of the receptionists had us email her the file we needed and had it done on her printer. Again: quick, efficient, polite. There is an onsite restaurant and bar which we did not try. The pool was nice but we did not partake as the weather was pretty chilly. There was a hub behind our building where the ice, vending, and laundry machines were housed. Didn't use them either but nice to know they were there. Overall, for the rate I got this place, it was a nice and comfortable stay. We were out of the room all day... left by 9 am, back around 10 pm, basically only used this room to sleep and get ready in the mornings. It is close by to all the parks and attractions we came to do. HOWEVER, when we decided to add another day to our vacation and asked the rate for the next night (friday), it had more than doubled what I had been paying for the rest of the week! If I found this hotel at the same price I paid for this trip, I would stay again.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days (thanks it was not more than that). I arrived there by around 11am on a Sunday so expected to have a early check in, as I was attending a businesses meeting. But they said they did not have any availablity. Which is understandable. Then I came back at 5pm and they gave me a room way behind some buildings and it was confusing and hard to find and on top of that I was hurry to attend another appointment after check in at the hotel. So I had to leave my luggage again at the lobby and asked them to give me a room at the front next time I get back. On the first day I found a spider in the bed and it was so awkward to sleep since then. I expected a microwave in the room but they said they can get me one for a charge. So overall it was sort of disappointing and NOT a happy staying.

It was an okay room for the price. The ice machine didn't work and my blankets looked old, they had rips in them. The water didn't get very hot either. Room upgrades would definitely be nice. Overall, it was alright.

Nice place to stay in a beautiful location. Older hotel. Pretty landscape. Water pressure a bit low. Restaurant was yummy and staff were very nice. I would stay here again. Good value for the price paid

I can't recommend this BW motel highly enough. Thoughtful staff, clean, comfortable rooms, decent restaurant on the premises, quiet, location, pool, number of exercise machines...all good. What was exceptional, however, was the layout of the buildings and the scrupulously maintained landscaping, which made it feel like a relaxing tropical getaway. There's a lot of competition in the area but we'll definitely be coming back to this BW.

Stopped over at BW in order to prepare for departure from SD airport the following morning. Affordable, close to the airport, ample parking. Nice afternoon with a couple of beers in the sun on the terrace. And a good meal in the evening. Everything worked fine, service was warm and friendly. Stying there was a good decision.

from the min we checked in to sunday when we left everything was wonderful, very clean and we had a room over looking the pool and could hear any noise from there. will stay there again, this hotel is close to the zoo and down town san diego, the mall was 3 min away and it took us 15 min to go to the zoo Sunday am.

Booked a room with a queen size bed, upon checkin, was told they only have full size beds, daughter booked a room with 2 queen beds and was given one double bed, We were told because we booked through a third party, booking online sites and not directly with them, that they have no control over the room we are given. What a shady way of getting customers money. Next, there is a gap under the door where critters can come into the room and vendors even slid their flyers into the room. The pictures on their website is deceiving, the room has ceiling to floor mirrors on one complete side of the room, very disturbing especially when you wake up looking at something in the room that doesn't belong there, oh, it's only me in the mirror. Staff was somewhat patient as I had door key issues with magnetic strips not being set or demagnetizing before I got to the room, 6 times was more than enough for me. Chick bartender had too much red bull or 5 hour energy going on, we would try to talk to her for drinks, flitted away before getting the full order, had dinner there too, one meal comes with a dinner roll and it was not brought out so we asked for it and was the response from the flitty bartender was that they usually end up throwing them away so they dont serve it unless asked for, but we were paying for it. Will not be a destination spot on my next visit.

Very good price for this hotel-circle location near all the favorite San Diego attractions. Older motel-style (park car in front) with pretty , well-maintained grounds, pool, hot tub, laundry area. Our 2-queen room was pretty tight but in very good condition. Tub/toilet area was tiny and needed ventilation. For two friends, this was fine. Personally, I would not want to share with more people. The motel parking lot was full nightly, but it was surprisingly quiet. Attached, pleasant dining room is convenient but food is only fair and a little high priced. All staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again at this price.

We went down to a family wedding. The shopping mall was nearby. The wedding was at the Golf Course so we didn't have to travel very far. My adult kids enjoyed the fitness center and the spa. We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed one night with my Sister. Beds were comfortable and the room had a mini fridge. Bathroom was rather large. Jacuzzi was at a nice temperature and clean. Parking was easy and seemed to be plenty of it. Would stay here again.

All employees were pleasant and helpful. Rooms could use a little updating, but that might make the prices go up! Plenty of parking. Very nice exterior: pool area, jacuzzi and patio from the restaurant. Although breakfast wasn't included, the restaurant is attached and the food was great. In the Hotel Circle and easy to get around San Diego. Will stay again!

Pool was really nice. Friendly staff and patrons. A little dated, but it was very clean and value was acceptable. I chose this BW for the location between El Cajon and La Jolla where family visits took place. Access to the highways was perfect for planning my road trip to San Diego and meet family.

I enjoyed this hotel because of the ammenities. The bar and restaurant were pretty awesome and convenient to have. We had a few drinks and enjoyed the nice bar vibe and brought our drink over to the restaurant that was attached and just ate some more. We even hung out in the jacuzzi which ran until 3am. They have a nice pool and the fitness center was small but was good for what we needed. It was great!

Good hotel close to everything I needed to do while in the area. I have stayed at this hotel 6 or 7 times and always had a great experience and good service. The hotel staff is always friendly and ready to assist.

I stay here every year as it is convenient to other San Diego locations. Easy for Uber drivers to find and there is no shortage of them. It's also close to the train if you don't mind the walk. I'll be back for sure!

Hotel was close to everything, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Really close to the beaches, and only about 20 minutes from the city. There is a huge mall only about 5 minutes away. Freeway entrance is right down the street.

Room: way TOO Small Room: dirty....floors Noise: terrible too loud Bath: way TOO Small Towels: too small and old Bed: old and hard... A/C: did not work ... was hot...not cold. Water: too weak TV: poor choice of Chanel's Restaurant: VERY POOR service.... 2 waiters not just one Front desk: Not helpful.......no choices.

Fourth or fifth tie at this property. Easy off and on on to I-8. Located in Mission Valley with many opportunities to restaurants ans shopping. Short drive to Balboa Park i.e San Diego Zoo and the museums. I-8 takes you to I-5 to northern CA. along the coast. Many attractions, short drive. Also short drive to the Harbor. Very nice restaurant on site with a varied menu. This definitely a repeat stay. An Older property, but very well maintained and comfortable.

Good value for price. Room was clean and well taken care of. Good parking and easy access to freeway. Did not eat in restaurant so have no comments to make about it.Thin walls/floor allow shower noise to come from adjacent rooms.

Rooms are maybe just a little outdated but overall clean and comfy. Pool areas are great. Great central location to San Diego County to visit all of it. We would stay again and would say our experience was definitely positive.

This hotel was quite conveniently located for us but there are not that many dining alternatives around. The room was quite average, closer to a motel than a hotel. The fridge was turned off so it took a while to get it cold. The room was a bit small but we survived. There is no breakfast included. That was a disappointment.

We look for hotels with restaurants either in or very near them..real restaurants, not fast food type. This hotel has a great full service restaurant and lounge...but very well hidden from the road and virtually no RESTAURANT SIGNAGE easily spotted from the road...hotel needs to add a big sign easily seen. We will return to this hotel.

Nice place to go especially for a getaway weekend. What makes it nice is the lounge, and coffee shop and walk up laundry mat and heated pool. Plus the lush tropical grounds. Dont even have to leave for anything. Stayed her many times before.

Deposit was $75....kinda high. Bathtub drain clogged. Staff was friendly. Good location. Grounds are very well manacured. Fairly quiet area. Beds were on the hard side. Parking was ample. Overall an average experience. Nothing special. Decent value.

There were mixed reviews so I was a bit nervous, but I loved the retro California feel of the hotel. It was updated but still had a classic feel to it. The pool was wonderful and my kids had a blast. It was nice to be able to have a margarita while they swam. I would stay again in a heart beat. Good location as close to everything. There was a busy road next to it, but I couldn't hear it in our room and slept well.

We have stayed here in the past. We phoned in for an early check in which told was available it was and came with a naked stranger. Ensure the room is truly unoccupied before taking your family in. I received a real small simple sorry. Great way to start a vacation coming eye to eye with another male naked fresh out of the shower. No discount, no upgrade, no comp. Would of been a nice gesture.

The location of the hotel was the only good thing about it. The ac cover inside the room kept falling off. The TV satellite barely worked. The remote had no batteries. We were in the non smoking section and people were still smoking. The way the room was designed wherever someone smoked outside our ac unit would pull it into our room and it smelled bad like cigarettes.

This place is in a great location everything is nearby including old town, the mall, SeaWorld and the staff was great. However the beds were extremely hard. Not what I expected for a great night's rest after an 11 hour drive.

I have had the pleasure to stay here on business and with my family on our weekend getaways! As always, the staff are professional, polite and very helpful to ensure my/our stay is the best possible. I am scheduled to return at the end of the month,.

I was in town on business for two nights, and found both the location and the price of this hotel a great match with what I needed. Fortunately, the room was quiet, clean, and comfortable enough considering the price. Without hesitation I would reserve a room here again. Especially for leisure travelers who are looking to be within a 15-minute drive from most of what San Diego has to offer, this would be a good choice.

The Jacuzzi is open 24/7. I wish the pool was too but its not :( The property is huge and when its full its hard to find parking, thats the only down side. If you like to enjoy yourself with some friends its a good hotel to go to. I've enjoyed every stay there, i've been there about 7 times.

Stayed over Easter weekend in 2018...hotel is clean and near alot of attractions in San Diego but parking gets full during busy weekends, so you may have to park away from your room. Also, showers were horrible and water was ice cold each day we were there. Not bad but not great also no free breakfast.

Seven Seas Best Western Hotel is a terrific place, in my opinion underrated. I'd give it 5 stars. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained, the staff are helpful and professional, and the hotel is in a great location for visitors and tourists alike. The restaurant and cafeteria are first-class, with great food served by a great staff. Don't pass up the Best Western Seven Seas Hotel. You won't regret it!

I have been satisfied staying here in the past. I appreciate the location. This time, there were two instances where there was no hot water. I understand the hotel was very busy, but I felt I am still paying for some basics like hot water. The response was simple and dismissive as if it's ok to run out of hot water. That's a basic I count on and Best Western didn't deliver.

Room was clean and in order. Wi-Fi was sub-par. Bed was a bit stiff. Location is near some good eateries and there is a nice mall with a movie theater nearby. Got the job done at a reasonable price. The wife would not have been satisfied but I would book again.
