    « Good value »

Found this on Groupon. It was a good price and located near Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. Check in was early - 3 pm. The clerk was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was filling and tasty. I would return to this site in the future.

    « Room was norsy »

There are some buds in the room. It must be taking care of it before letting the customer staying next time. The location is very convenient for business and for vocation. I will recommen my family and friends who want to stay in this hotel.

    « "Mema's House" »

My room was so comfortable and clean. I love having a microwave, coffee maker, tons of clean towels, great air conditioner/heating unit and great clean beds. The staff is so wonderful; especially Jesse. The pool is so clean and warm with plenty of clean towels, as well. My grand daughter, who is two, loved my room and the pool. She asked the whole time I was there to go to "Mema's House" * she loved jumping on the pillowed bed and swimming with her mama in the pool. The location is so close to everything and no smoking allowed * no smoke smells in the air or heating system. I loved my stay and you will, too.

    « Every room stinks »

Carpets , pillows everything stinks and all outdated amenities.. Moved to different room same experience. We couldn't wait to leave that ugly place. It's only worth to pay $30 for such hotel stay .....

« Great place, great price »

After staying at another place the night before for literally twice the money, this place was awesome! It was clean, easy to find, the bed was comfy. Breakfast was just ok, but a waffle is a waffle. Is this place a little "tired", perhaps, but for the money I'll certainly stay again!

« A convenient place to stay in Mission Bay »

This BW, although showing a bit of age, is convenient to the area activities at a more reasonable price than the area's more luxurious venues. It is family-friendly and offers a good breakfast, much improved recently.

    « Weekend getaway!!! »

We stayed in a two bed room. For us ur was perfect once again. We stayed here twice and it's perfect us. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was very good. Love the waffle machine and omelets. Our kids and fam were please with all services of heated pool in Oct. My boys get to go on there own the scooter park up the street and scooter farm as well and come to the room without any concerns. It's so convenient for us. Old San Diego is a few miles south and price on Hotel. Com are the best. See you next time !!!

« Mold smell in room »

When I checked in to the room, it had a putrid smell that I was unable to figure out until I returned to the room on day 2. I complained to management and they moved me to a second room that smelt the same. I was moved across the complex to a room that had been sprayed and smelled much better.

    « Good Value Hotel »

Overall, my family and I was please with our recent stay at the Best Western in Mission Bay. The staff was friendly, the breakfast options exceeded our expectations, and the location was perfect as it was right off of HWY 5 with easy access to many areas of San Diego while you are on vacation.

    « Great Value »

This is an older Best Western and it smells older. The outdoor pool is smaller than expected however, the staff is great there and the rooms and hotel are kept clean. The proximity to Sea World and other attractions was great (which was the purpose of the trip). Overall, it is a great value for the location.

    4
    « Convivent hotel »

Hotel was ok for our location for our Last few days of our hols. It's a bit noisy so a lot of traffic going by . there is a free breakfast that was good. Rooms are OK. There is a pool and a hot tub. There is no laundry. WiFi was sometimes slow. Staff were friendly

    3
    « Older Property »

This is an older property, appears well maintained, clean rooms, the desk staff was friendly. The linens were nice, the bed was comfortable and the room was an adequate size. Reminds me of the motels of the 60's, very small office. It is three stories, has one elevator outside and outside walkways to the rooms. The breakfast was good and had a variety of items, it was replenished in a timely manner. The pool and Jacuzzi were clean, the pool was not heated, towels were provided in the outside pool area.

    2
« IN NEED OF MAINTENANCE »

Checked in to this hotel for a two night stay. The first thing we noticed was the warm room. Air conditioning turned to maximum. Never got cool even after two nights. The toilet seat was not securely attached to the toilet and slipped around. The toilet failed to flush completely about half the time. The parking lot is very crowded with very small spaces. There are only three handicapped spaces for the facility. Overflow parking is in an unlighted lot near where the homeless camp.

« Good place to stay »

Stayed at the Best Western Mission Bay in San Diego for 4 nights during an extended long weekend vacation. The room was very comfortable, the internet worked very well, the food in the breakfast room was always plentiful with a good selection. The hotel was very well situated and easily accessed and close to all of our weekend excursions. Would stay here again.

    5
    « Memorable Service »

Enjoyed our stay; staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was way above average. Will book at this hotel again in the future. One of the best hotel experiences we've had on our visits to San Diego.

    3
    « Nice Hotel »

This Best Western is an older hotel and does have signs of showing age; but don't let that dissuade you from staying here. The rooms (as we have always found with Best Western hotels) were clean and comfortable. We had a "family suite" which was pretty large and provided a small kitchen. Hi def tv, large bathtubs, heated pool and spa along with a friendly and helpful staff makes this place a bargain for the price ($110 a night). They also provide a free breakfast every morning (scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, waffles and other goodies like yogurt and bagels.

« In san diego for funeral of family member »

good location for our purpose and to enjoy the sites in San Diego as well as some beach time. Chose BWMB because of the inexpensive rate for this area. The staff seemed very responsible, friendly and professional. Enjoyed the breakfast with a variety of food and drinks available.

    5
« Great Experience! Great Hotel! »

We really enjoyed staying at this Best Western property. The staff, location, condition of the rooms, pool and hot tub, room price, and even the quality of the breakfast was good. We found everything about our entire visit to San Diego to be very laid back.

    4
    « Bestern »

Check in went quickly, plenty of parking off I-5; room was nice and clean; breakfast was good; liked the burritos; close to mission bay and only about 10 minutes from Mission beach. Only drawback was the noise from people passing by on the balcony, but overall a nice stay.

« Friendly staff, but didn't like the location »

I booked this hotel based on the great reviews it got, and that people seemed to feel like it was in a 'great location'. After staying one night, I have to disagree. I suppose if you are staying and you have a car, it probably is a good location because it's really close to the highway- but we only stayed one night, so we didn't have a car, and the location was terrible. There was nothing to do near the hotel, I am not from the area, so it was hard for me to tell if this is a 'good area' or not, but I was not about to walk around alone. Our hotel room was clean and comfortable, but we only had one working outlet in the room. All of the other outlets were a major fire hazard as they only allowed the plugs to go in half-way. Breakfast was fine, but crowded and I couldn't get the wifi to work. As we were checking out, we watched a mouse swimming around in the pool. With all the being said- every single hotel employee that I spoke with was extremely kind and helpful. They are definitely doing customer service the right way!

    5
« Nice place to stay »

Stayed here for 5 nights. Very clean comfortable rooms. Breakfast was lovely. (Could be a little bigger area for breakfast, as gets quite busy) car parking near room was difficult due to so many people staying. Would definately stay here again. Close to downtown and sea world.

    4
    « good value »

a little old looking on the outside but just fine otherwise. the location is handy to the airport and beaches areas, and the breakfast was good . maybe a fifteen minute drive to downtown area, and easy to go north up the coastal area. free parking as well

    3
    « Location! »

The location was great, right off I-5. Free and ample parking space though you may have to walk a bit when it's crowded. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. The room was a bit dated. The pool didn't look like shown in the picture, much much smaller. Overall, it was an ok for one night.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Conveniently located on freeway, friendly and helpful staff, excellent room. Did not appreciate $100/night increase in rate on weekend, but other hotels also increased rates. Room was immaculately cleaned each night.

    4
    « Great Location »

To get to the famous local sights we were always less that 15 minutes away by rental car. We were very close to mission bay were you could just walk over the bridge to get to. I 5 was right near and so getting to places fast was a sinch. The staff were so friendly. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. Considering being near the interstate the rooms were quiet. We had a continental breakfast each morning. It could not accommodate a lot at one time. If we go back to San Diego I will most definitely select them.

    4
« Very pleasant and clean »

Spent 3 nights there after 2 nights at Homewood suites and one night at Garden Inn Del Mar (the moving was not hotel related). Both Hiltons cost more than double what I paid at BW and I have to say that BW is excellent value for the money. Clean rooms, ample free parking, very friendly staff. I got the room just next to the exit of the elevator and immediately next to the ice machine, yet the noise was not bad. Basic, clean nice hotel that is budget friendly, nothing wrong with it at all.

    5
    « Hidden Gem »

This hotel is very easy to find, right off the freeway. But wait to you are greeted by the amazing staff and Breakfast gals. They truly make you feel at home and comfortable. I will definitely be staying here again. This will be my go to hotel when I travel to San Diego!

    4
    « Our Brief Stay »

It was surprisingly good, the mattress on the queen bed was just too firm....the general appearance, cleanliness and the staff professionalism was very good. The hotel staff was very professional. We wanted to stay overnight somewhere that very inexpensive and close to our destination.

    3
    « Great base locations »

Rooms are a bit older but ok for the budget price. Lots of parking at hotel and easy to get to Pacific Beach, Mission Bay and Old Town. Rate per night was completely reasonable for what I got. Pool onsite looked ok but on the small side! Breakfast was offered as well as free internet. Recommend 2nd floor rooms as cars back up to your door on ground floor.

  • 3
    « Good price package »

Excellent location with decent facilities. Very close to the beautiful San Diego bay but no view into it from any room. Decent breakfast with a more than usual variety. Next to I-5 which takes you in no time to main attractions and recreational areas, and shopping centers.

    4
« MIssion Bay Best Western »

I may be getting picky, however... after dealing with traffic delays on the I-5 I needed a little humor. Our arrival was met with a very professional all business attendant - It was the night shift, but hey. The room was fine, comfortable and humid?? - the a/c was on at 69 degrees which made everything feel wet. Breakfast was great except for the small, cramped, hot room. I probably will not be staying at this BW again. Oh - the check was great - helpful and nice guy.

    4
    « Family Vacation »

We stayed here on our first leg of a 5 week holiday. Hubby, Kids aged 6 & 8 and myself. We found the hotel to be, yes a little dates but perfect for what we wanted. Close to the Zoo, Sea World local shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast room is small but luckily for us it was not too busy.

    3
    « Good for Families »

Pro's: Motel provided good internet service, helpful staff, and convenient location to the San Diego Airport. It would be a nice stay for families. Con's: Dated décor and furniture. Old AC units. Rooms need updating. Good for families on a budget.

    4
« Fantastic Location for SeaWorld »

The location of this hotel/motel is fantastic. It is a very short drive to SeaWorld & the mission beach park & bay area. It's right off the I-5 which is convenient to Old Town, the harbor & the downtown area. The hotel is an older one and doesn't look like much from the outside. However, there is a pool & spa, elevator, free breakfast & free parking. There is also an overflow parking area which is handy because by 9 p.m. the regular parking lot is full. There are restaurants, fast food places, drug store & other places within a very short driving distance down the street. We stayed on the 3rd (top) floor of the hotel far from the elevator and the room was quiet. The room was booked through tripadvisor & checkin & checkout was a breeze. Be advised that there will be a $100 hold placed on your credit card until you check out. This is the case even though you have prepaid for the room. The hold was removed within a day or so after leaving. As for the room, it was comfortable and the AC was cold. It was very hot in San Diego during our stay in August so the AC was just right. The room did have a mildew musty smell coming from the AC when we first arrived. This is a common occurence in San Diego when you are that close to the ocean. It disappeared & we did not notice it during the rest of our stay (4 nights). Breakfast was good but the area is cramped early in the morning. We generally did not eat until about 8:30-9 a.m. so it was less crowded. The room is overpriced but for San Diego it was a great bargain considering the free parking & free breakfast were included. Overall, it was a good stay & we would stay there again.

    « Hidden gem »

Just stayed here for 1 night recently and it really was a hidden gem. Our Room was spacious and spotless. Complimentary Breakfast buffet was substantial and very tasty. Definitely good value for money. Plenty of parking. Staff were friendly.

    4
    « Very nice stay »

We spent three nights here, and while we visited Legoland and the zoo. The location is great--we walked down to the bay one evening. It is very close to La Jolla Cove, and the zoo, airport, and Legoland were easy to get to as well. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast room was well stocked, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. It was a quick stay as part of a longer trip to California, and we would recommend it for sure.

    5
    « Close to Everything! »

this hotel does not look like much when you pull in.... but, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, there are lots of breakfast choices, and it is close to everything, (within 5 to water, grocery store, 15 to downtown, airport, Mission Beach, SeaWorld, Gaslamp, Old Town.. etc) Best Mexican food up the road at Cojitas! No coin laundry on site, but up the road 5 minutes there is one. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub area were clean. We would stay again.

    4
« Perfect Location; No Complaints »

We arrived on an early flight and wanted to drop our bags at the hotel--they were able to check us in at 11:00am. That was a great start to our stay. The room and breakfast were standard Best Western fare. The location was perfect for our three days in San Diego. The hotel is just off I-5 and less than 20 minutes to Coronado, La Jolla, Old Town, etc. I have to mention Irma who ran the breakfast room. She was pleasant, kept things full, and checked in with every guest. Great service!

    4
    « Hotel Stay »

Staff was very helpful. Arrived a day early. They had no extra rooms. Helped me find another hotel in the area. Breakfast was also good. The young lady at breakfast was very helpful and informative of things to do in the area.

« This was the best place »

The mission bay best western is the best place to stay. The service is amazing and the people are great. Bill at the front desk really helped us pick out places to eat and things to do in the area. we explored pacific beach where there is a lot of high end food at an inexpensive price. the beaches where amazing and the safety on those beaches were impeccable the lifeguards were always watching for people safety. thank you for the great trip.

    3
« Breakfast good. All else could use some improvement »

We checked in late and were assigned the bottom floor. I specifically requested the top floor. We got into our room and it smelled like mildew but were only staying for one night and were too tired to go work with the front office to try and get another room. The $100 incident hold is a bit much especially when that is half the price of a room...

    4
    « Summer Getaway »

This hotel was clean and quiet. The breakfast was good, they had hot and cold items. It did get crowded if you didn't get there early. The ac unit worked great. The rooms were very well cleaned every night. We stayed for 3 nights. We didn't check out the pool or the hot tub, since we were there for the beach but it looked like people were enjoying it. We tried to buy chips from the vending machine and it took our money, but when we informed the front desk they gave us our money back.

    5
    « Loved this motel.... »

Stayed here on our visit to San Diego...had been a long time since we had been to SD. The staff was wonderful. They give you a list of restaurants in the area which is great. The room was large, beds were very comfortable, breakfast was very good..lots to choose from.. Wish we could have stayed longer..

    4
    « Funeral »

Unfortunaty I was there for a funeral so I was only there for 3nights 4 days. The motel was very nice and clean rooms have irons, microwaves and mini refrigerators.Centraly located airport mountains ,sea world, zoo and stadium all within short drive. Continetial breakfast and they even extend our check out time an hour to 1pm when we asked. My only complaint was when I first signed up for the trip they put a debit hold on the amount for the room Then after I got there not realizing they put a second debit whole payment for the room I left San Diego on 8 July I called them to question them why there were two debit holds they said it was a mistake it was supposed to be removed but it took until July 13 for the money to be replaced which was ridiculous . So just watch how they charge you outside of that my stay was great .

    4
« Great value, basic but very clean and comfortable »

This hotel met our needs perfectly. We weren't looking for a resort to hang out at all day, but rather a clean, comfortable place to come back to and sleep after seeing the surrounding area. It was clean, well-maintained, and well worth the low price that we paid. It wasn't fancy, but very clean and well-maintained.

    1
« Everything basic, but double charged »

Everything was OK until we got home, I discovered, we were double charged for our stay. We booked via Expedia and made prepayment, but were still charged by a hotel afterwards. Besides that location is good, next to freeway, but relatively silent, good access to SeaWorld and Belmont park

    3
« Perfect Location Nice Room but Noisy »

Rooms where very clean, beds very comfortable. Great value in the free breakfast. Our room location was near the elevator and laundry room where the employee seemed to gather at 7:30am and like clock work would talk loud and wake us up. We would of gave the hotel 4 stars if it wasn't paper thin walls and noisy location.

    4
« Convenient location, helpful and friendly staff »

The hotel is close to so many attractions in San Diego. Hotel staff are friendly and always helpful. Comfortable and clean bed and pillows. The carpet in the room is quite due for replacement. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

    5
    « great stay »

breakfast was great, service was awesome!!! the location is close to the beach and sea world. if you want lunch or dinner no need to drive it just around the corner. if you plan to swim they have a heated pool and jacuzzi to relax and unwind.

  • 3
    « Location »

This hotel has a good location, if you are there for sea world or the beach. We were there because of my nephews football championship. However when we went to the beach it was only 10 minutes away and had a nice little area of restaurants. The hotel's breakfast was ok. You have your basic items- eggs, sausage, and french toast. You could also have doughnuts, ceral, and ice cream

    4
    « great hotel »

this is a great place close to the beach, nice rooms, very clean, friendly staff, nice pool, breakfast is great even have a nice workout room A+ . So much better then the best western at hotel circle. I will for sure stay here again and let friends and family know its great

    5
« Great place by the beach »

This is truly a wonderful place. This location was right next to our destination near the beach and Sea World. Front Desk staff Bill was very informative in the area. The room was very nice and the beds were very comfy. We really enjoyed the breakfast after hours were they have hot chocolate which the kids loved and coffee all day. Will definitely be staying here again when we are in the area.

    4
    « a nice stay. »

My family and I had a great stay at this Best Western. Room was nice enough; the beds were comfortable. The free breakfast was a hit with the kids. The pool is nice, and it was lovely to have a place to escape to once we were done exploring San Diego.

    4
    « Getaway »

Older BW building, but rooms clean and well kept. Breakfast was very good, there were a lot of choices and the Breakfast area was very clean. Front Desk staff was very friendly and helpful at finding a location to eat for dinner.

    3
« Older Best Western Facility But Good Service »

This motel was very convenient for my visit to San Diego and close to everything. All the staff in the front desk and maintenance were friendly and extremely helpful. The building itself is very old and shabby. The room was basic but comfortable and quiet, although there was dirty build-up in the edges of the carpet where the cleaners missed. The building hasn't been updated since it was built 40+ years ago and shows the wear and tear.

    4
« Great hotel at a great price »

Check in was very easy, all the staff was friendly, and the fitness room was very well kept. The location was very close to Mission Bay within walking distance to the park and more. I will def come back.

    4
« Great location and stay »

This hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good and changed up every morning. There was a minor smell to the room but I'm pretty sure it had to do with the Ocean being nearby and the humidity; the cleaning staff was extremely helpful when we asked for air freshener. Overall though, a great stay for the value!

    3
    « Great Family vacation »

Well the staff was friendly awesome free breakfast every morning the facilities were clean the only thing was we had a serious ant problem in our room. Wi-Fi was great with conveyance of 7-11 across the street and a helpful staff that's aware of the late night places that delivers

    2
    « SMELLY »

Booked this hotel, it had decent stars and was a good price. Just like always you get what you pay for. The room was ok, but not like the photos. The room had a musty damp smell. We only stayed one night there then choose a different hotel.

  • 4
« Nice place to stay »

nice hotel to stay but could not use closed caption because remote control was not original remote so my father could not enjoy the TV. Staff was very helpful and nice. Did not like the burritos for breakfast.

    3
« Ok for the price »

This hotel is on the older side but the rooms are clean and the breakfast is good. The breakfast room is small so it gets pretty packed when hotel is full!! The beds are super firm and pillows are super fluffy. The room was well stocked with towels and toiletries and was a great feature to have a refrigerator and microwave! Parking is free and usually ok unless large trucks try to park in main lot than can get real crowded. Overall it's not my favorite hotel in San Diego but it works if you need one, just don't expect the ritz!!!

    4
    « Last Minute Value »

booked this hotel for a family vacation through an e-comm marketplace. It was a tremendous value. Location is right off I-5 and close to SeaWorld, Mission Bay, La Jolla, Gaslamp District and more. Hotel is not much to look at from the outside and the room was in great need of a facelift - for what we paid and knowing we were just sleeping there is was worth the money and we could overlook the lack of "beauty" the property possessed. Breakfast every morning and they had a different hot item - not just pastry and fruit. Hotel staff was amazing kind and courteous-from desk staff, to breakfast area staff, housekeeping. We were traveling with young children and they locked the bathroom door in room so we could not get in. Maintenance was quickly able to resolve and again so kind. They do a very good business - lots of people staying while we were there. Cons - poor ventilation in the rooms so our wet towels and clothes did not dry at all. Pool had quite a bit of dirt/sand in the bottom. Pros - price, staff, breakfast variety and stocking, location, value, free internet, no parking fee, no resort fee. Would likely stay here again.

    5
    « Perfect stay »

I loved my stay here. The location was perfect and close to everything. The staff was great. The price was great. I would go out of my way to stay at this motel. I did not have any issue with ants like some of the other reviews.

« Amazing staff and room and stay! »

First impressions always. Traveling with my mother and husband we pulled in to check the rate and was very pleased. Bill M. at the desk is the example of work ethic, pleasantness and how to treat a customer; very impressive! Got to our room and the moment we opened the door we were happy. Very clean, smelled great, mega comfortable beds (which is so hard to find) and great amenities. Free breakfast, a heated pool and jacuzzi. This is one of the best stays we ever had. Wish I was staying longer. Thanks Bill M. for the restaurant recommendation, fantastic dinner.

    4
« Nice property, good location but watch for construction »

Very nicely maintained older property, updated and clean. Excellent pricing for the area, great breakfast room. The breakfast room staff were friendly, cheerful and efficient and kept the food well supplied and the room clean. Maria always had a good morning and a smile. Very nice pool and hot tub. Housekeeping staff were cheerful and efficient. Note:There is a sign on the ramp from Clairemont Drive to southbound I-5 indicating it would be closed for construction May 5 through November. This might cause some inconvenience when heading south. We drove the surface streets to get to I-5 south not using this exit and it just added a couple of minutes to the trip. Not a major problem, but add to your plans.

    4
    « Very nice stay »

All staff was friendly. Room was very clean although it could have used a bit of maintenance - carpet was torn in front of the door and wallpaper in the bathroom was coming off in a few spots. There was a bit of a chemical odor in our room which we chose to overlook. Location is convenient to all San Diego attractions and Mission Bay is within walking distance. Buffet breakfast was far more than continental with changing hot entree choices daily. Room rate was great. Would definitely recommend if practicality is at the top of your list!

    4
« Trip with Older son »

Went to the Best Western site to book the room. Got an excellent rate through Trip Advisor. Recommend making the reservation ahead of time as the facility looked booked by the evening with rates in the $180's we paid, $87. Location was convenient. The ocean was just a few minutes away.

We rolled in at 9:00pm exhausted from a long flight and time change. There was a line to check in and only one guy working. He really didn't take very long to get everyone checked in and he was super friendly to everyone. Even when the phone was ringing and people kept showing up he kept his cool and got us all on our way. The room wasn't anything special, your basic hotel room. The bed was very comfortable and the AC was quiet and worked well. The shower had good water pressure. Breakfast was free pastries, bagels, eggs, sausage and they had two waffle makers. I was pretty surprised by how much they had to offer. There was loads of parking and it's right off the 5 fwy but we couldn't hear any traffic. I was a little concerned about the area when I booked the room but it seemed pretty safe. There weren't any creepy people walking around there, it was mostly just families.

    « Great stay!!! »

The location was great and everything was within a quick drive. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Every day they had a new hot item. All the staff we had contact with were friendly and accommodating. Would stay again.

« Good spot, good value for area »

Thought this undistinguished motel had an excellent location for a nearby event was attending. Parking was good, service by all employees was excellent and I thought the motel reflected excellent if not financially tight management.

« Very Nice and Convenient »

This was a very nice, clean and convenient place to stay. The breakfast was very good. We were with a large group and all of our services were great. We will stay again when in the area. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We were allowed to gather in the breakfast room at the end of the day.

« Best Western weekend stay »

Although this hotel allows pets, and the added fee is very reasonable, the room I checked in to had an overwhelmingly bad pet odor. I was able to change rooms without an issue but the condition of the rooms and the property is not great. I would only stay here again if nothing else was available. Staff was friendly and helpful and the location was walking distance to a park on the bay. For the price I expect a hotel that is not so run down.

« Extremely Good Location and Friendly Staff »

This hotel is extremely family oriented. Lots of kids running all over the place. With that said, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean. First room we looked at smelled musty. Asked for another room and it was fine. Everything in the room worked. Hotel is surrounded by busy streets. However, this is a fairly residential/business area and during the night the traffic did die down. The buffet breakfast was pretty decent. They tried to offer something different each morning. So, even tho there was one morning that there was nothing I would eat, the day before and after were fine. The breakfast room did get pretty crowded. However, it did not take long for people to eat and leave allowing more people to have a place to sit. The location is a huge benefit to this hotel. It was an easy 15 minute drive or less to all the major attractions in San Diego. The light switches are a bit strange. The switch in the bathroom has a motion sensor. If you need to use the bathroom during the night, there is no way to avoid the bright light coming on and possibly disturbing others in the room. We were offered an upgraded "Family Suite". These corner rooms offer quite a bit more space to make your stay much more comfortable. If booking as a family, I would highly recommend one of these rooms. All the staff were very helpful and very friendly. Overall, it was a good value.

    « Vacation »

We usually stay at a Best Western Hotel, because from past experience, our stays have always been relaxing and close to places of interest to us. In the case of our most recent mini-vacation to celebrate my birthday, the BW Mission Bay, San Diego, CA was the most suitable and convenient. We were not disappointed by our accommodations or service and amenities.

    3
« Best Western Mission Bay »

Great location to beaches, old town, downtown, Sea World, La Jolla and Coronado. Easy access to freeways. Clean comfortable basic room. Breakfast buffet was well stocked. Plenty of free parking. Quality restaurants nearby.

    « Great hotel on a budget »

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The rooms are basic no-frills but clean with plenty of room. I had a nice pool and Jacuzzi area with a friendly staff. It was close to everything and had a much better breakfast than I had expected. Waffle station, donuts, toast, muffins, yogurt, breakfast burritos, potatoes, coffee, cereal and more. For $79 after-tax and night we were very happy. People saying it needs a new fitness center etc you're going to have to pay more for bells a whistles. If you're using the hotel to spend down time between going to see the sights and to sleep its perfect.

    4
    « Convenient, pleasant, budget »

The hotel is a short walk to the Mission Bay park/trail system, and is a perfect budget choice. Save your money for doing things and restaurants. The pool, exercise room and hot tub are small, but adequate. Breakfasts are a step up from the usual inclusive fare. The windows open part way, which brings in fresh air.

    3
« Perhaps some cleaning of the fitness center would be nice.. »

Stayed here with a buddy while in San Diego. It is convenient off the freeway, but there are not many retail amenities in the area. The fitness center itself could have used a good scrub down. The free breakfast was filling though we do without the weird breakfast burritos. They should really clamp down on their parking lot at night as there seemed to be people living in the car in the parking lot.. at one point, a lady was pantsless going through the trunk of her car, and I guess her partner walking towards to the car mumbled/yelled something to us that sounded like.. "YEAH.. THATS RIGHT" Please also fix your key readers or key issuer machines, I had to get my card recarded every day I was there.

« Great location, great hotel! »

We had a great stay at Best Western Mission Bay. It is located right off the highway and in a great central location whether you plan to visit Mission Beach/Bay Area, downtown, or even Coronado or La Jolla. The front desk was very friendly and our room was super clean and comfortable!

« Very satisfied with quality for the price. »

Excellent offer of breakfast items. Different daily and quite complete with everything one might want to eat. The guest room has everything that is needed and plenty of accessible outlets. Very satisfied with the stay.

« Convenient location - Hotel needs upgrades »

This hotel was not what I expected. The staff was nice and friendly. Easy check-in and check-out. Asked me which floor I want. One night, I returned and a staff saw me on the other side of the parking lot. He beat me to the elevator by about 5 steps and I saw him press the button. When the elevator arrived, I got in, but he didn't. He simply said good night - which I then realized that he saw me from afar and went out of the way to make sure the elevator was ready for me to take me to my room. Loved that. The shape of the hotel though is not the greatest at all. As I walked to my room, I noticed the floor was uneven - as if the properly settled or an earthquake hit and didn't bother fixing the floor. The room itself is fine but on the outside, it gives the run-down, falling apart, look. The fitness room was fine. Breakfast buffet was good. More than your standard continental. The location was good - near freeway but noise level was minimal.

    5
    « Great Breakfast/Stay »

There was a large variety of breakfast items and each item was always full no matter what time I came to eat. The A/C and internet worked well. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The staff and cleaning people were always smiling and friendly. It was quite and the repair guy came immediately. We had a great stay.

    4
« Great location, nice hotel »

Very friendly, helpful staff. This hotel is close to I-5, but you don't hear a lot of traffic noise. It is in a very convenient location and we really enjoyed their continental breakfast and clean eating area. A good value hotel and we'd stay here again when in San Diego. FYI - Costco is just up the road a few minutes if you need to fill up on gas.

    4
« Convenient and fairly priced »

The staff was very friendly and eager to please. The room was nothing special, nor anything to complain about. Considering its convenient location, it was a very fair price. The free breakfast was more than expected. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

    5
« Great experience each time! »

This motel is a great value. It is clean, has an efficient and friendly staff, and a wonderful breakfast offering. This property is improved each time we visit. The beds are comfortable, there is in room internet access, and it is a convenient location to most shopping and tourist attractions in San Diego.

    4
« Convenient, good price, just fine »

There is nothing fancy about this hotel, but it worked fine for us. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Plenty of free parking. Breakfast was good, but nothing fancy. Internet worked well. Location is close for many San Diego destinations, but you have to drive everywhere.

    4
« Great quiet place in great location. »

They had a full hot breakfast every morning open as late as 10AM. The location was close to the freeway. Lots of parking. The staff was friendly. The location was close to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. It took only 15 minutes or less to get to the Zoo. Close to Costco for gas, etc and right across the freeway from Pacific Beach. It was very quiet, no freeway noise or doors slamming.

    4
« Great Hotel- perfectly located »

The rooms were clean. The free breakfast was great and changed daily. The pool was heated and lovely. Great place to stay with kids and centrally located- 15 minutes to everything and easy hwy access. A great deal.

    4
« Great loacation and reasonable prices »

This hotel is located next to I-5 and approximately 400 yards from Mission Bay. Everything is you need or want to visit is nearby. Rooms are large and clean and come with the standard complimentary breakfast.

    « GOOD ONE! »

very clean, and I'm a stickler about cleanliness! convenient from the highway, and close to everything. staff was helpful and polite. breakfast was good, lots of variety. pool was pretty, although we didn't use it. reasonable rates, and nothing to complain about. that's what I call a good one!

    4
    « Satisfied »

Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. It wasn't lavish by any means. But the room was simple, clean, (a bit "old" but that's ok with me). Breakfast was ample, and the staff, particularly the evening and morning front desk receptionists were very amiable and helpful. I would stay again.

    4
« Our stay near Mission Bay »

This is a very nice motel near the park at Mission Bay, and just up the street, there are restaurants and some shopping. It is not with a lot of other development, as far as shopping malls or tourist endeavors, but right near I-5 and easy access to points of interest from there. It is a clean, quiet motel with pretty much everything you need. It also has a nice breakfast. It doesn't look spectacular from outside (not bad, just not fab), but it is clean and more than adequate.

    4
« Perfect location to Sea World »

Great location to stay when visiting Sea World. The room was very clean and quiet. The bed was a bit hard for me. The staff was very attentive. The price was reasonable. Definitely would stay there again.

    5
    « Great value »

    « friendy helpful staff »

decent place to stay. not near any restaurants or stores. Good breakfast. access to computer and coffee. nice gym area. Really helpful staff. We had a water leak and they let us move, but there was another small leak in the shower head. We didn't want to move again so we lived with it. inconvience to move at 8 pm at night, but the staff was helpful.

    « Wonderful, wonderful experience »

This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay! We loved it here! Great customer service, pool and Jacuzzi are a delight and clean, the breakfast here was above standard quality for continental. Stay here I assure you will enjoy it!!!!

    « Close to airport and I 5 »

This hotel is just off I 5 and a great location for visiting San Diego. At first glance we weren't sure it was a perfect fit for us, surrounding area seemed a little less than desirable, building seemed old, but Jesse at front desk was very kind and helpful. The rooms actually were very nice, very clean (my most important item) and laid out very well. Breakfast was really good, great variety, and the lady who ran the breakfast was wonderful. Very helpful and kind (helping a lady with her small children)

    5
« Nice hotel and great locaton! »

This was a great place to stay with kids. The pool was nice. The breakfast was good and handy. The rooms weren't fancy but did the job. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. This hotel is close to beaches, parks, restaurants and shopping as well as Sea World and the famous San Diego Zoo! I would stay here again next time our family does this trip.

    « Good Value »

We stayed at the Best Western Mission Bay for vacation. Breakfast was great, rooms were clean, the noise level outside was a little loud and the door didn't muffle the noise well. Overall a good value motel.

    « Convenient, budget hotel »

This hotel had easy access to I-5, so was convenient for all of the San Diego attractions that we were doing on our vacation. We stayed for 2 nights and went away from San Diego for a couple of days and then came back for 4 more nights. We had 2 different rooms. The king sized bed in the first room was too firm. When we came back for the 2nd stay a king bed was not available for all 4 nights so we got 2 queens, which were a bit more comfortable but still too firm. We had a leak of the refrigerator that soaked the floor and had to be dried during the day while we were out and the refrigerator froze our drinks instead of keeping them cold. Some of the days that we were there were chilly and we used the heater and when we would come back in the evening the staff would have turned the air conditioning way up making the room really chilly for awhile. The rooms could use some refurbishing. We continued to stay there however because of the price. It was cheaper than the other Best Western's in the area and we try to stay at Best Western hotels due to their loyalty program. For their free breakfast, they had a pretty decent variety. Some of their donuts weren't always that fresh though.

    3
    « Needs an upgrade »

We choose Best Western when travelling for many reasons. This hotel was a reasonable price for the are, but it is in need of an upgrade. I noticed frayed carpet, sagging wallpaper, loud appliances, squeaky doors, and some grittiness of the bathtub. All of this would be fixed with a hotel upgrade. It's probably time.

    5
    « very good »

The breakfast is very good! the hotel is clean and safe! Good location near to the highway! The staff is nice! But the internet should be improved. overall, San Diego is very beautiful. This hotel is really a good choice!

    « Excellent cost-benefit »

The hotel is well located, 10 minutes drive from Downtown, Balboa Park and Zoo. Comfortable rooms and llimpos daily, a good breakfast with several options. The internet is not good and needs to be improved

    « San Diego »

It is a well located basic hotel with good service and free parking. Breakfast is good, the room and bathroom were clean. The bed is confortable. I stayed there for two nights. I would stay there again and recommend it.

    « Wonderful stay »

We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Mission Bay. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. It was also convenient to get to from the freeway. The continental breakfast was great. There was a good variety of food. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.

    « Can't beat that! »

Very professional staff who neither try too hard to build rapport, nor come off as too aloof. They get right down to business and make your comfort their first endeavor. I called ahead of time and made sure my reservation was still confirmed. When i got there, they immediately know who I was and had me checked in right away. The room was clean, without a hair out of place. All the appliances worked perfectly, and the room was definitely spacious enough, with a cushy bed and NON SMOKING (Thank you!). Breakfast was delicious, and they made sure to keep all the good stuff stocked throughout the ENTIRE breakfast. Thank you, Best Western, we shall meet again!

    2
« Dirty rooms and unprofessional staff »

The room was dirty! There even was a piece of clothing of the previous guest lest in the room (see the picture)!!! The staff were not professional! Do not book this hotel! I had booked it for three nights, but, escaped after the first night!

« Excellent Hotel except for no hot water in room and crunched parking space »

Very nice location, comfortable and affordable hotel with nice breakfast buffet, highly accommodating staff and nice beds. Hotel has elevators and vending machines and free wifi and free parking. cons: 1. Water not hot in shower 2. Parking space is crunched.

    5
« Good Basic Hotel with Nice Staff and Clean Rooms »

My favorite motel in San Diego. The location is excellent, as is the staff. They offer a free breakfast every morning, 24 hour free coffee and tea and even a morning paper you can pick up in the lobby. The room is basic, but clean and comfortable with everything I need, including a small refridgerator!

  • 5
« stay here every time »

I stayed here every time that I visited San Diego. It is close to everywhere and the breakfast is great. The staff at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. I asked for a room away from ice maker and elevator, and Bill helped to to get the room that I prefer. The housekeeping is good too.

    4
    « Good hotel »

Try keeping away from the first floor as you may find some insects crawling around. But overall, it was a nice room. Easy access to the bay and the highway, you have to go out to get to the dining room but the weather was fine.

    5
    « RMISHRA »

It was a pleasant stay . We opted for 2 queen bedroom and it was perfect for family of 4. Room size is quite good . Every thing I like about this hotel . Break fast had variety and we loved it. Rooms are neat and clean and very well managed. It's very accessible form major attractions in San Diego, specially Sea World and Zoo. A lot of parking space is there. Over all we loved our 5 days stay.

    4
« Close to Sea World, Nice People, Great Breakfast, Nice Room! »

My subject line about sums it up. We stayed this past Sunday night arriving around 9:00p at night. We were quickly checked in and retired to our room. It was a nice room with two queen beds on the second floor, room 221. While we didn't use it, there was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The TV had the clearest HD signal I've seen at a hotel in a long time. Didn't watch it much but our daughter loved Disney Channel while we were getting ready in the morning. Enjoyed the free WiFi too. The parking lot was full so I was expecting lots of noise and such but surprisingly we had a peaceful rest. We heard a little bit of noise in the morning but I was expecting that and it was no means that bothersome. A big thumbs up for the breakfast. It was a busy area but the helpers kept the food coming out. We enjoyed waffles that you make yourself along with breakfast burritos, potatoes, yogurt, fruit, juice coffee and our daughter's favorite thing, bagels. I wasn't expecting it to be as nice. Lastly, something small but much appreciated, they had two new four wheel luggage carts...just like the ones at the fancy hotels that folks can use to transport their luggage and extras to their room. This was great with all the stuff we had...saved at least two trips. We'll definitely stay again if in the area. Thumbs up!

    3
    « It's all about location. »

Nice motel with Spanish decor. What I like the best was the people that worked there. Always friendly and helpful. What I liked the least was the bathroom. Small. Need updates. All in all, I would stay there again. Great location.

    5
« Excellent service, very professional »

I visited San Diego with my family. I chose this hotel after reading good online review and as it was very close to Sea World and San Diego Zoo. I have to say this hotel was awesome with the amount of money you pay. Room was clean, good wifi connection. Complementary breakfast was appreciable. The manager always visited during breakfast to talk with his customers. Although the building was a bit old, the staffs clean up regularly. All along it was great!

    4
« Good Location and Economy »

The strong points of this motel are location, economy, and service. The rooms themselves are average in size and appointments. The entrance is from the parking lot for the first floor and from a balcony walkway for the second floor. An elevator is available to second floor walkway. Our room was very clean and all the appliances performed properly as did the wifi. The complimentary breakfast was above average with some hot items. A conscientious attendant was present. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The facility is located relatively near several tourist attractions, the international airport, and downtown San Diego. The room rate is very competitive for a location so close to the downtown and tourist attractions of a major city. While the rooms, themselves, could be considered average, the added benefits listed above makes this motel above average; hence, a rating of very good. As an added note, one cannot turn onto Clairemont Drive from Morena Boulevard, so it is best to follow the directions on the motel's website or consult a map for alternative approaches.

    « Everything for a good Stay »

All people treat me well, from front desk, House Keeping maids, and people that serve breakfast. Delicious Breakfast, they have burritos, waffles, cereal, donuts, bagles, juice, coffee, chocolate, oatmeal, yougurt

    « Great location...close to bay!!! »

Clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff!! Would stay here again!! Close to the bay and other points of interest! Not far from San Diego airport. Also served good breakfast. Close to trendy bars and restaurants!!

« Noise and Earthy People »

I like Best Western when I travel for business, clean comfortable, convenient...you pretty much know what you get. This place was a disappointment: the window to the outside corridor did not lock (Room 314), Saturday night noise from drunken guests woke me up, and while I enjoyed the breakfast, the other guests were just too much. I realize the price point attracts a lower caliber of guest, but this was worse than I expected. Family visiting Marine recruits, but no social skills or manners (serving themselves food from the warming tray with their hands instead of the provided utensils: gross!

    « Car is a must »

Nice rooms and great breakfast. In the middle of nowhere though with a pretty complicated and unreliable bus system so a car is a must. Nice pool and hot tub to chill out in. Lot of hotels in this area though so shop around

    4
    « Great location »

My husband and I had a few days to get away. We searched for and chose this motel for the location and the fact they served a breakfast. We certainly were pleased with the location, the breakfast, the cleanliness of the rooms. We would definitively recommend this motel.

    1
    « Moldy Dump »

Moldy, dirty dump. Don't use coffee machine, it has crud inside. Had to buy Clorox spray at store and hose down room before sleeping. Lots of stains and overall nasty place. Staff was polite but what can they do ... this thing needs a bulldozer. $90 for a night at this dump, are you kidding me?

    4
« Great location if you have a car »

Stayed here for 6 nights. The location is terrific if you have a car and dont mind a 10 to 30 minute drive to the action. We drove downtown, old town, SeaWorld, ocean beach and pacfic beach in 10-15 min. Coronado and oceanside are about 25 -30 min away. La Jolla in 15. This is an older property in good condition. Clean. And well maintained but not fancy. Very good breakfast each day until 10 and a small pool to keep kids amused. Not a bad area at all - just not very much about. We walked to the path around mission bay in 10 minutes. No restaurants or shopping is in the immediate area. Parking is free and plentiful. Super easy access both ways on the I5 highway. This hotel is 15 min to the airport. So, if you after a romantic getaway there are certainly much better choices. But if you and your family are using this hotel as your base to explore this most excellent area - and have a car- this is a fine choice at a very reasonable price.

    4
    « A good basic hotel. »

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of other times in the past 6 years. They have remodeled the rooms and upgraded their breakfast since the last time I stayed. Very nice. This hotel is very convenient for my visits to San Diego. Great access to freeways.

    2
« If you like noise---this IS the place for you! »

The hotel and staff are very nice. However, the hotel because of it's proximity to Sea World is always fully-booked and crowded. If you do not mind barking dogs, screaming kids, and terrible traffic noise---this is the ideal place for you. If you are a business person wanting a quiet, peaceful place to relax and get your work done----this is NOT for you!

    5
    « AWESOME »

    « Great Weekend Stay... »

Wonderful wknd. in Mission Bay, San Diego, before embarking on a cruise line. The breakfasts were always delicious. Not too fancy, but readily available or make your own waffles! The staff were helpful and the rooms very clean, with comfortable beds. It might need an upgrade with a touch of paint, etc. but comfort and cleanliness is more important and at a very reasonable price!!!

    4
« Nice place to stay near Seaworld »

I enjoyed my stay here. It is right at Mission Bay near Seaworld. Easy access to Interstate 5 with plenty of parking. Don't worry about coming late, you will have a spot. The swimming pool is nice. The rooms are nice but seem a little old. I liked the room and the bed wasn't bad. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast. Not brewed coffee, weird eggs and turkey sausage. I did have a bagel till I went out for breakfast.

    4
« Close by many San Diego attractions »

This is a very nice 3 story motel. The front desk people are friendly and helpful, I wanted to see the Midway museum and they took out a map and highlighted the best route. In the morning when I asked this young lady at the front desk where was the closest drug store because I had forgotten my razor she reached under the desk and gave me one. True it was not a gillette or a wilkinson sword blade but it worked for my 7 day trip. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The room was clean as was the bathroom. Breakfast was your normal eggs (flat patty folded over some cheese different), bacon, potatoes, dry cereal, juice and coffee etc. I would make it appoint on my next visit to San Diego to stay here but I would request a room on the top floor, the people above us tended to walk a bit heavy at times, nothing the motel could do about it but something to think about. As far as views go, the only view was the parking lot and the pool.

« When a Best Western is Not at its Best »

Too much $$$ for value received. Water pressure is terrible. Desk chair needs to be replaced. Breakfast area too small for more than 20 people at a time. King size bed with pillows sized for a cot. Not up to traditional Best Western standards.

« I expected more from the reviews that I read »

I knew the hotel was older but had read that it was quiet, clean, and comfortable.... and that the staff service was good. The staff service was definitely good--the best part of our stay, actually. When our blowdryer didn't work, they brought a new one up and had it installed in less than 10 minutes. We had a few other needs that they quickly responded to. However, our room wasn't as clean as I expected... with scattered ants throughout all weekend... and a few other small bugs. And the parking lot and walkways smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke that my husband dubbed that area "the ashtray," and we would hold our breath as we hurried to and from our third floor room. I would recommend designated smoking areas... although i do feel badly for those who really love to or feel they need to smoke. It's just hard when one person's preferred activities/habits happen to impinge on another's preferences, too. I don't know what the ideal answer is. Anyway, the hotel was more dated and shabbier and not quite as clean as we had hoped. The location was good and service was commendable, though.

    4
    « Excellent revoew »

The quality of the service was excellent, the location was ideal for the event that we were all invoved in , and the surrounding area was excellent. The beaches were easy access from the hotel. I recommend this hotel

    3
    « Exceeded Initial Expectations »

The price was excellent. The hotel was busy. The ambiance was definitely lacking, the facility being surrounded by a major infrastructure project and a few major roads. The room was in very good shape. The breakfast was excellent. It wasn't eggs Benedict and Crepes Suzette exactly, but for this type of all-inclusive, all-you-can-eat affair, it was pretty good. The staff seemed to try pretty hard to please the customer. It's not the kind of hotel that would please those looking for up-market, fancy accomodations, but for budget-conscious families and other travellers, it does do the job

A very clean hotel located by Mission Bay. However, the rooms are small and the storage space is very limited. The staff thought is very good and they were very helpful with our questions. The location by Mission Bay made our stay very convenient.

« Great experience, Best Brerakfast! No Disappointments at all »

Stayed in San Francisco 3 days, 4 days in L.A. and 8 days in the San Diego area. This motel was great, no disappointments whatsoever. Well worth the money and a good price.Stayed here 3 nights. Best motel of our 15 days in California and we stayed at a Best Western Plus in Chula Vista and it did not have a fantastic breakfast like motel. 5 stars

    « Super clean »

Came here to attend the Dragonboat festival at Mission Bay park. Nice ordinary hotel but super clean, I'm sure you could eat off the bathroom floor. Kudos to the cleaning staff. Pool deck, pool and breakfast rooms are kept very clean. Breakfast varied from ok to great but nice to have it included. french toast was great, burritos not so much. Walking distance to an Irish restaurant and a sports bar. Uphill 20 minute walk to a strip mall with a landramat, grocery store etc. Liquor store is around the corner. Free wifi is great. 30 minute walk to Mission Bay Park. I would recommend this hotel.

    « Convenient and practical »

We needed a place to spend a night in the San Diego area and this is where we chose. We had spent the day at Sea World and it was only about 5 minutes from there. The staff was friendly and courteous and helped us find a good family restaurant to eat that worked out well for us. Our grand kids enjoyed the pool and the adults the hot tub. Many of the others in the motel were there for a big event being held on Mission Bay so they all got up early and hit the breakfast room at the same time which created a bit of a backup, but they were pretty efficient in keeping things stocked. The breakfast was good with all the typical choices. We would stay there again.

« In Need of Upgrading »

After staying at a Best Western in National City coming here to Best Western Mission Bay was a real let down. It is said, first impressions count. My first impression was disappointment. The building is motel style with all rooms and windows facing inwards to a concrete parking lot. I believe we saw 1 palm tree. Entering our room (165) there was a musty odor; we left our door open to air out. No central air conditioning and the in room AC was very noisy. The room furniture is definitely dated. Dark blue carpets cover up dirt. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were very lumpy. Blankets are not the way to go anymore and most hotels are going to duvets. The pictures of the lobby and rooms when searching on line are definitely compromised. They make the rooms and lobby look bigger than in reality. We were very disappointed that our Best Western Rewards Card could not be used. We were told that is because we booked at Hotels.com.The breakfast was substantial and the young lady at the front desk as well as the staff in the breakfast room were very polite and hospitable.

« Good, basic, clean accommodations »

Arrived a couple hours before check-in, but had no problems getting a room early and no problem using a $100 gift certificate that I had. We had Room 214 upstairs. Room was clean and up-to-date. "Garden View" may be overstating it, but there were some trees and plants below our room, and a view of the pool. The immediate area is nothing scenic, but you can take a walk to enjoy the bay. In the evening we took a long walk uphill to Coastal Crave restaurant, which was good, and the shopping center also has a grocery store, pizza place, bbq restaurant etc. Did so much walking, we never did try out the small fitness center, but it's there if you need it. Spent two nights at this location. Room was maybe a little smaller than other Best Westerns, but still fine for a couple. Free wi-fi, free breakfast with a good variety of hot and cold items. The hotel was sold out, and even with a bunch of young volleyball teams there, we had a quiet, undisturbed stay. Refrigerator, microwave, in-room coffee maker, and plumbing all in good working order. We would stay there again.

« If you like the smell of mold/mildew- this is the hotel for you! »

Had to stay 2 nights while my home was being treated for termites. This hotel is not worth the nightly rate. Abandoned building next door and a construction yard on other side. Rooms smelled of mildew/mold and my clothes still smelled when I returned home- NASTY! Dog friendly yet no area for dogs to go to bathroom. Had to walk behind the building which in a dark area at night. If BW can address the horrid mold/mildew smell and the nasty abandoned buildings buildings/construction yard, it MIGHT be worth the nightly rate. On a positive note- the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.
