I stayed at the BW Americana Inn on a layover from flying in to San Diego and out of Tijuana the next day. This hotel is perfect before crossing CBX to the TIJ airport. The hotel is older but very clean, very comfortable, and the employees are friendly and kind. I would certainly stay here again when the need arises.
100% recommend... closed to all shops walk distance ,, the best Jacuzzi and great pool for the kids ,,really clean rooms very quiet ,, easy access to uber If need it ,, great plaza las Americas close to the hotel .
The room itself was just OK. The mini fridge wasn't leveled so had to be careful opening/closing it. Also encountered a few ants on the bed. The worst part was the smell of the carpet. Could barely stand it. We had to go to Target to purchase Febreze fabric refresher just to be able to tolerate the smell. Was told that apparently all rooms smell like that. Also, for as many 'no smoking signs' there were, a guest a few rooms away from us was chain smoking outside of his room/standing at the doorway of his own room smoking. Cigarette butts everywhere & the smell was awful. Too bad.. its such a convenient area to stay especially when going to Tijuana for the day (which was the purpose of our trip). 2 stars for the nice staff, location, and breakfast.
There was mold in the bathroom. The toilet did not flush properly. They did not have breakfast out. And when she finally did get it out after eight o'clock it was very limited We are elite members and we didn't get our water. The lady at the customer service just rushed us through
Of the six hotels in the area… They all had low ratings. This hotel had the highest at 3.9 so, I wasn't expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised. The room was big, clean & updated. They also had four or five electric car charging stations, a pool and spa.
Life has been hectic for several weeks & a much needed break to relax was in order. Enjoyed my stay @ Best Western Americana Inn very much! Very pleasant visit! B.W.A.I. will be frequented by me in the future! I give it a 10 star rating!
Rooms at this hotel are very clean and comfortable. Each room has a microwave and mini fridge. The breakfast is good with hot and cold options. In addition their is a Carl's Jr. in the same parking lot and a mini-market/gas station a half a block away. McDonald is just past the gas station (5 minute walk0.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 days on vacation. After checking out I was charged $500. I call to ask and they say it was for smoking in the room? THERE WAS NO SMOKING IN THE ROOM! Management will not respond to me and I feel like I was stolen from. I've already filed a complaint with corporate and am preparing a lawsuit. Beware of this hotel. They will steal $500 from you with no proof, explanation, or response.
We always enjoy staying here. Staff is so friendly and go out of their way to make sure everything is how you want it. Breakfast is always hot and delicious, but this time, the waffle maker was gone :-(. Everything else was great though!!
The hotel is nice, is located near the freeway, has a Carl's jr and McDonald's at walking distance, great front desk service and breakfast, the rooms are clean, you hace access to coffe at the front desk.
Best Western Americana in San Ysidro was a simple, clean, and comfortable room. It is located about 20 minutes south of Central San Diego near the border. The hotel staff was friendly. The grounds were clean. The breakfast had many choices. The price was reasonable. It was a decent place to stay for our San Diego adventure.
I loved that it was clean , great price and they had breakfast. Plus it was very close to the border . That means I don't have to fight traffic getting into TJ. Quickly get in and get out . I will definitely be coming back to this hotel .
The hotel is well run and clean. The housekeeping staff were wonderful and very welcoming with a cheery smiles when we passed by. Our Breakfast was very good with a nice selection of both hot & cold foods…some healthier options which we very appreciated….loved the yogurt. Ask for a lower room if you have any mobility issues as did not see any elevators. Hotel was handy for sight seeing as the freeways were close by which made for quick access to anywhere including the Mexican border and downtown without the high costs of staying downtown. Based on our experience I recommend this Best Western highly.
Pillows need to be replaced. I have mentioned this in my last review and nothing has changed. The bathroom window was left open which is a security issue. The table in the room by the sofa could have been cleaner also. Had some kind of sauce left on it.
Room was filthy customer service was horrible and the manager never returned my calls. I would never return to this location unless the staff was retrained or replaced. Very disappointed with Best Western.
The best experience I've had from my recent Best Western Hotel stays in the past couple years. Thank you to ALL staff at this location. Edgar at the front check in was very polite and customer service oriented. Housekeeping was nice and asked exactly what we wanted to have done to our room. Breakfast was great and so we're the two servers during our stay.
We've stayed at BWs before and enjoyed our stay; the rooms were clean and the service was great. I can't say the same about this BW. Upon arrival, we were passing a room that had its door opened and I immediately noticed the black dirty carpet. I hoped I would not find the same in our room but to my disappointment I found the same. The carpets were filthy with black stains and had not been vacuumed. My husband mentioned it to a cleaning lady but she only said they were working on it. (????). You don't need to work on making an effort to provide clean rooms to your guests, you just do it! You could tell they did not clean the room and it smelled like they just sprayed air spray to mask the fact they did not clean, (although there website praises their cleaning standards). I didn't say a thing because it would not have made a difference and all hotels were booked in San Diego. We would not have found another place to stay. On our final night, when we returned we found the bed thrown together. All three days a vacuum did not touch the carpet. The same debris found on day one was there until the end. It was definitely a busy hotel. I think they would care less to make any effort to improve the cleanliness based on a terrible review because they had the business. I would not recommend this BW. Disgusting!!!!!
Our room smelled like pee. I didn't complain because we really were only there to sleep. The water pressure was low. And the AC kept setting it's own temperature. And the towel hook on the back of the bathroom door fell right off when I tried to hang a towel on it.
Pictures are not what the rooms look like…completely misleading. The paint is peeling of the ceilings, dead light bulbs, holes in carpets, stained Lenin and bedding, no towels, toilets did not flush. The hotel pool was cloudy and green. The staff was very rude and unprofessional! The breakfast is nothing but toast and butter and cheap boxed cereal. Do not waste your money here. It's trash!
Professional helpful staff clean rooms safe environment. Perfect parking for commercial vehicles nearby businesses for shopping and eating options never had any problems what so ever highly recommend .
After a long day of travel it was wonderful to be checked in swiftly, into our clean and super comfy room, with everything we needed for a restful break in the journey. The next morning we all enjoyed a fresh complimentary breakfast, with something to satisfy everyone. We will definitely stay again!
This stay saved our trip! We had originally booked at a different hotel and were completely disappointed at check. That hotel was a major disaster! Quickly I checked the area for another hotel with available rooms at such short notice and very late in the even. Luckily Best Western had affordable rates and the stay was amazing. The cleanliness and service was great.
This is my second time staying at this Best Western and I give it 100% satisfaction overall! I highly recommend, very clean, safe, and all the workers are friendly. It is the perfect hotel to start your journey across the border.
Top notch hotel near the US /Mexico border clean modern rooms pool Jacuzzi full breakfast flat screens and very quiet private location . close to a few restaurants great beds and lots of pillows should I say morel
Nice hotel but don't be a dummy and drink the water. Even a swig for an advil was disgusting and staff doesn't answer calls at night. Our toilet clogged right when we flushed it and staff didn't answer calls for a plunger
Upon arriving on a rainy new year's night, the man at the front desk who's name I can't remember was on the phone. He did acknowledge me when I walked in the door. I waited patiently till he was done with his phone call they had coffee to the right of me grabbed a little cup of coffee. A phone call wasn't too long maybe about a minute or two. He checked me and provided me my room key explain to me where they have continental breakfast in the morning. Walking in the room it was great very clean. It was a great price only downfall it was far from where we had plans New Year's eve night. But that's why they have Uber and Lyft which was no problem at all. Would stay there again.
Very nice place, safe, quiet. I enjoyed my stay. Plenty of places to visit in the area. We have stayed at this location a few times, days in a row and we have never had an issue. The front desk staff is always so sweet and helpful. We keep going back.
I havent had much luck staying at other BW properties in SD and was weary of this one being near the border. But this hotel was a nice change. Check In was a breeze and the guy even waived the ever hated deposit. Room was clean, air worked well and the water was hot! All that matters to me!
For starters I felt unsafe because of the door that was inside of my room. Because it connected the neighbors. I was moved but I still felt unsafe so I moved some furniture and they kept my deposit...
It was a 4 nigth stay with no cleaning. Had to take out my own trash and go to the reception every night to get clean towels. Asked twice for the room cleaning service and didn't get it. One day the cleaning personal reported that i had the dnd sign on the door, that wasn't true.
I've stayed at this property several times this time fell below expectations. One side of the property is quite and perfect for business travel the other side apparently is for those who are there to party it was extremely difficult to concentrate on work. I had to call in a complaint
Carl's Jr, McDonald's and Coco's were all in the same parking lot, so that was convenient. Grab and go breakfast was good. Be sure to check the dispensers in the shower BEFORE using. Ours were ALL empty. Remember to have your key card updated at the office if staying multiple days. We weren't told. Power outage at the hotel was a bummer. Room got hot and stuffy due to lack of ventilation.
Who doesn't have fresh coffee in the lobby at all times? How about having a crappy in-room coffee maker? No creamer cups? You guessed correctly if you said the Best Western Americana Inn. Not the start of the day I anticipated, especially since it's raining and I don't want to cross the parking lot full of big puddles to an adjacent Carl's Junior. Everything else was fine; I'm just bleary eyed and frustrated about the coffee situation. Oh, by the way, if you ever have a Best Western gift card call the hotel directly; the website doesn't tell the consumer to do that.
This Best Western was clean and convenient to the San Diego area. Near I-5, I was able to go where I needed without problems. Also close to various dining options and to my physicians in Chula Vista. Great place to stay for any reason.
We stayed here for 1 night before our early morning flight from Tijuana via CBX and it was perfect. The rooms are clean, the price is competitive and the staff was really friendly. This was only a 15 minute drive to the CBX so convenient for early morning flights.
Spent 1 night only at this property on my way to Tijuana and had no complaints at all. Clean accommodation conveniently located right near the border. Breakfast was pretty modest but at at least free of charge. Don't mind staying there again in the future and recommend it to all travellers.
Nice, clean, good housekeeping, good breakfasts, nice people... Van transportation to clinic available. Ask to stay on the back side away from the semi truck parking - very noisy. Next time we may stay in Mexico, but this is a good option and would recommend.
When my sister decided to go to Tijuana, Mexico for a minor procedure, I was not too excited about it. BestWestern helped me calm my nerves knowing that they would meet our needs. Thank you.... We felt very welcomed.
Easy and quick check in didn't wait more than 10 minutes, the rooms are good size, nice bed and really great breakfast. Right next to a Carls Jr. which is a good option to get some food and near the Outlets to do some shopping
This is a nice hotel, close to the Tijuana airport, the staff was either great or seemed like they want to be anywhere else except there. Nice landscaping, and close to a fast food and a sit down restaurant. We'd go back.
There aren't a lot of hotels in this area to choose from but by far this is the best one. Friendly staff. Usual continental breakfast includes waffles, eggs, and sides. Rooms are nice. Could use a change of carpeting.
From time to time, I travel to the San Diego area to visit family and tend to family business matters. The Best Western Americana Inn is located near most of the places I need to visit, and is also convenient to I-5 and 805. The rooms are consistently clean and comfortable, with friendly and helpful housekeeping staff. I routinely enjoy the complementary breakfast, which is offered in a well-lit and welcoming breakfast room near the front desk. I tend to bring my own snacks and drinking water for the room, but also enjoy nearby restaurants. My travel often means I'm at the hotel by myself, and I feel safe, welcome and acknowledged by all the staff, and usually by other guests. It is a friendly and safe environment, both in the rooms and on the premises.
Located behind the very first McDonalds restaurant you see, on San Ysidro Boulevard upon entering the US at the international southern border at Tijuana, Mexico - El Chaparral. So, very easy access for you.
That you again Best Western for making our family trip a wonderful experience. My kids and I want ti mention how comfortable tour beds were. After a long day of sightseeing and walking, your beds felt like heaven puffs.... Thank you for all the beautiful smiles of your personnel. They made my day!!!
My family and I stayed at this hotel Friday evening for the first time and it will be the LAST. While we were sleeping someone got into the bed of our truck and stole around $5,000.00 worth of stuff. When we reported it to the front desk, we were told that the manager wouldn't be in until Tuesday and there was nothing they could do for us. Then today we get a call and they tell us that, yes they have security cameras but not where we had our truck parked, which was DIRECTLY in front of our room! What's the point of advertising that you have security if it doesn't cover the appropriate parts of the property? I am so thoroughly disgusted at the way this hotel and it's employees has handled this problem. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, ever!
There has not been an Best Western Hotel that did not meet all my expectations. The hotel accommodations were exceptional. The room was immaculate! and the customer service was excellent. This San Diego location is another one added to my calendar for my business and pleasure visits.
This motel is the perfect place to stay for Medical Tourists to Mexico! Just 2 miles from the border! Clean, comfortable, convenient, and a shuttle is provided 2 times daily to and from whatever clinic in Tijuana you plan to visit! Shuttle drivers know how to get you through customs quickly and smoothly!
Beautiful rooms, amazing shower, very friendly staff. I have stayed in higher rated hotels that weren't as pleasant as this. Breakfast was great. Stayed 7 days and will stay here everytime I am in town.
I am a long time user of Best Western services all over the US and in Mexico. Dependable, Clean and Helpful when needed. The stay in the Americana Inn was exactly what I needed. I needed transportation to a clinic in Mexico and the service was available and good.
I had not stayed at a BW, I cant remember it was recommended to us and we where quite surprised with how beautiful the room was, very modern and updated. The staff was friendly, the grounds were maintained and the free breakfast in the am was as expected. We will be going back
Booked one night and a second night a few days later. Confirmed I had two nights at check in. Upon returning to my room the next night I was locked out of my room. Had to go to the front desk at 1 am to try to get back in. Finally did, After putting a second incidental hold on the room. Got in the room and found ants on the shower wall and bathroom sink. Also the next morning 8-10 cops raided a room near me. I have a video of the cops, sadly trip advisor will not allow videos. The room light never goes fully off. Best western responded to my complaints giving me 8,000 points insinuating that had value. Discovered later that a free room night is 25,000. That's insulting.
We come every year for medical treatment and the staff at the hotel are so helpful and kind to make it a successful trip. The driver that takes us across the boarder is very competant so we don't have to stress. There is everything at the Inn so we can stay and rest and not worry when we are there. We highly recommend this Inn!
Only reason for not having 5 stars is the location, very close to freeway, which was not too bad, but for those wanting total silence It Might not work out. I really liked this Best Western, definitely one of the nicer ones I have used. The place was clean, super overall location, very helpful staff and the shuttle into Mexico was the HUGE selling point. I would absolutely stay here again.
Upon arrival, which was a quick check-in, we went to the room and was pleasantly suprised to find a very clean and neat room and large, flat screen TV. The carpet was so very clean that I felt safe to walk on it barefoot. Bathroom was also clean. Bed was comfortable.
Wonderful place to stay in the San Diego area. Short distance to border, quick ride to San Diego Airport. Beach is a short car ride. Outlet mall near by. Restaurant on site. Rooms are clean, quiet. Hotel staff always helpful, welcoming. Pool is very nice. Ample parking, easy on and off I 5.
Excellent Great valueHighly recommend to anyone whether business or pleasureEverything was available for the stay and clean including linens and towelsThey had a pool too, unfortunately we didn't have more time to visit.
We stayed here when we took our daughter to a Mexican cancer clinic. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We took a shuttle from the hotel to the clinic. We had no complaints with this hotel
We stayed here 6 nights. Friendly staff. No elevator, but room close to stairs so not bad. Felt safe. Quiet room. Comfortable beds. If there was a problem, they fixed it. The hot tub was boiling hot...too hot. This needs fixed. Small bathroom, but clean.would definitely stay again.
Quick and efficient check in. Room was clean. Everything worked fine. Small fridge was par. Small sink in room was a bonus. Fairly large room. Updated bathroom, living room, TV, and a couch. Air conditioning worked very well. We would come back. (Did not use the pool or other amenities)
Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was great (good variety) and a waffle maker which my daughter loved. My kids also loved the heated pool and I liked the decor and cleanliness of the room. Close to the 5 FWY, with a Coco's Restaurant next door, along with a Carl's Jr. Overall, a good experience.
I've stayed at other hotels in the area but in my opinion this is the best and It was recently remodeled 2017/18.. Always spotlessly clean and has VERY comfortable pillow top mattresses. The bed top covers are clean white sheets instead of those ugly old polyester quilts that many hotels still use. All rooms are spacious and have a refrigerator, microwave and wet bar.
Clean rooms, comfy beds, great breakfast to fill you up, grounds are well maintained, dispensers of moisturizer/shampoo/body wash are great, some minor maintenance required (tissue box in wall coming out, handrail cap in shower coming off)...but all in all a good hotel to stay in. Would stay here again!
Room was average. Breakfast was great. Close to the border to go to Hoxsey clinic. Good shuttle service. Only bad thing was there was not much close to see with out a vehicle. Service at this hotel was average. We had a package sent to the hotel and they kept it safe for us until we arrived.
After Travelling all day my family ( with our dog) went to stay here. Well when we asked if they were dog friendly they said that they were. We paid for our room and went up to unpack for the night. We ended up getting a call 2 hours later kicking us out of the hotel because we had brought our dog in with us( he is family!) when asked for a refund was told that we didnt deserve a refund and that they would call the police if me and my family didnt leave. I went across the street and got a room and they were super awesome about me having my dog with me, and even gave him a dog treat. I wouldnt stay in this hotel if they paid me too.
This is a great place to stay to get to the Bio Medical clinic in Tijuana. The shuttle to and from the clinic is a great way to have a safe trip without the hassle of taking your own car and getting lost in Tijuana. Even if you knew the direction to go the traffic flow is different and it saves you from having a possible accident in your own vehicle.
Best Western Americana Inn was a great place to stay for my one day visit. I arrived at CBX Tijuana and that process was quick and painless. Called Uber and paid around $17.00 US to get to this hotel. It's in a motel form with rooms you access from the outside but I found it very quiet and convenient. The rooms are totally renovated to a modern style. Nice bedding, microwave, little bar fridge, sink, good lighting and very clean bathroom. Lots of places to plug in my devices and free wi-fi. There's a small restaurant close by (Cocos) as well as two fast food places. Breakfast isn't high on my list but the coffee was good and I enjoyed a small muffin. Front desk staff were polite and helpful. The outlets are close by and I had a great time shopping. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
Very unfriendly receptionist at night we arrived. Rude. Refrigerator full of water. No tea bags. No normal complimentary small things that make travel experience nice and available in most us hotels. Terrible breakfast. Close to border. Bed was clean, carpet is not
Soon as I entered the room and turn on the lights there was cockroaches on the wall and the smell of the room was very stale! Woke up Super early the next morning to screaming kids next-door I understand that it's not the hotel fault They did handle it immediately The beds were comfy though.
As a Building traveling inspector I had the opportunity to stay at the Best Western Americana. I have to say the rooms were clean, the staff was excellent, they do serve breakfast from 6AM to 9AM if I'm not mistaken... good hotel for business. The WiFi was decent and there are a few restaurants in the area. The location is convenient close to the 5 freeway. It wasn't a luxury type of hotel but for business and just to relax and sleep which is what I look for it is just fine. My bathroom sink did have a leak but other than that I have no complaints. I requested a wake up call and they did it just fine. No too expensive either so if you are on a budget this is the place to stay at. The picture was one afternoon right out of my room.
All three rooms (so far...) have been excellent. Breakfasts are OK - not as much selection as other BW that I've visited... WiFi great, no problems. Sprawling place - try for a room near the office! Somewhat noisy - it's only 1/4 mile from the San Diego Freeway...
I wanted a motel not in San Diego motel circle. This motel was close to San Diego and also close to Mexico if you wanted to go there. Room was very clean. Bed was comfy and so were the pillows. Breakfast was your average continental beakfast. It had both outside and inside eating areas. Only complaint got there before 3 p.m. and they would not let me check in early claiming there were no rooms available
Excellent ! Shuttle service easy, comfortable & helpful The Best Western Americana is a great place to stay for travel into Tijuana The staff is friendly and helpful the rooms are comfortable We felt safe
Whenever we are in San Ysidro, We always stay at this Best Western. I think it is the cleanest, nicest and safest hotel in this area. It's very close to many restaurants and stores. The beds are so comfortable. The staff is always helpful.
We Had a very nice and peaceful stay . it was quiet . the breakfast was very good and well prepared . Room was very clean and we had good parking . The location was Great. And the staff was excellent Sincerely E G, .
I've stayed here before. It's still very nice, tucked away, but convenient to everything you would want to do in San Diego. The people are very nice and accommodating, and the general area is beautiful. You could do a lot worse.
We've been staying here regularly for the past 12 years and wouldn't consider staying somewhere else. Although the prices have gone up over the years, quality has never suffered, and the staff is always right on top of things. It's not a fancy place, but we're not expecting a palace.
Nothing overall special, but clean. Once at Hotel, nothing to do around the Hotel. Coco's closed at 10:00 PM Had to drive outside the Hotel 6-7 Miles to grab a Beer and watch some Football. Wet Bar in room, was way too small. Trying to stuff Microwave, Coffee Maker, Sink, into a very small area. In fact, a knocked over the basket, etc. into the sink. Decided not to make coffee!!
The provision of a shuttle service to Tia Juana is great. We have been going to the Bio Medical Cancer Clinic in Mexico and the shuttle is just the perfect service from Best Western. People are coming from all over the world to this motel to get the medical care they need. The staff is very helpful in taking care of us and the breakfast offered by the hotel is a time saver for the morning since we caught the shuttle van early.
We only spent one night and used their servise to cross the border to have some dental work done. The bed was very comfortable, the property was clean and well kept in spit of being an older Hotel. We will definitely stay with them again.
Would definitely stay again, but would love for the pillows on the bed to more comfortable and flexible times for the shuttle service to Mexico. I believe if more availabilities for the shuttle service were offered than this would increase business.
My friend and I came to town for a quick weekend get away. We chose this hotel for proximity to the beach as well as Mattress Firm Amphitheater for the Buffett concert. The place is clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. You can hear the traffic from the freeway, which was a bit annoying when you're trying to sleep in, but all in all it was a good place to stay. We will definitely come back!
First off- I read a lot of hotel reviews- and I've gotta say, this hotel stay was really quite perfect, and I'll absolutely be staying here in the future! My father & I traveled to the San Diego to visit a clinic just over the border in Tijuana, the Bio-Medical Center, and the Best Western Americana was one of their recommended hotel choices for patients. The price can't be beat- we stayed for 3 nights & I honestly haven't slept so soundly in ages! It was quiet, private, and very clean. I've read some questionable reviews about this hotel- Please take my advice and strike those negative reviews from the record! This place was affordable and the staff was really top-notch. The young lady working the front desk- I can't recall her name but she really was extremely professional, helpful and very pleasant- despite being really quite busy every time I encountered her. I work in the service industry, and I recognize how rare a friendly face can be once the pressure is on.. She is a fantastic employee, give her a raise! This hotel is great, the shuttle service to and from the clinic is fantastic- the shuttle driver was also extremely pleasant and helpful- just a really great crew at the Best Western Americana. Really looking forward to staying here again for my next visit in April!
Only there for a few nights, we have had a lot of away from home trips lately. This did not look great in pictures but was close to where we needed to go. Turned out to be better than expected nice place beds and pillows amazing, clean, friendly staff, breakfast was a smaller choice of food but satisfying... used the shuttle the driver was very friendly an also helpful!
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this motel. The reason being our stay there was for medical travel. They advertised free shuttle service to all medical clinics in Tijuana if you book at the medical rate of $130 per night instead of,say, through a travel agency at around $108 per night. We planned our trip carefully3 weeks in advance and since I needed to visit Oasis of Hope Contrerras hospital and also a dentist across the street6 from that I called the hotel and asked if the free shuttle service included that route also for the medical rate guests. I was assured "yes, we do go there." I made a reservation for 4 days at the medical rate and to my disappointment they charged me $120 to drop me of at the dentist at 9:00 to sit there till my appointment at 2:30. Otherwise if They had taken me on a special trip it would have been $180 . I hired a taxi the next day for $100 since it was cheaper then the shuttle and he took us right on time, so this cost us $ 250 in all for transportation to appointments and we still paid the medical rate. The manager of this hotel is rude and overbearing. She refused to look at a flyer I had that advertised in big bold letters; " Free shuttle service to all medical clinics in Tijuana" The Oasis hospital is not that far into Tijuana either. It took the taxi less then 15 minutes from the hotel.
Horrible experience please do not make a reservation here!!! House keeping are extremely rude and un mannered The hotel had mold and it stinks, bad odor. The lady at the front desk did not know her job at all. She was perplexed every time I asked a question.
Safe and Clean hotel close to the border with Mexico. Breakfast was included with the room. Very convenient location to rest before crossing the border. The border is 15 minute drive. Very nice staff and convenience location.
My primary reason for staying in this hotel is that it it clean, safe, and close to the border. I work in Tijuana and this hotel is only about 10 minutes from the border, at the most. This trip, I also noticed that they have a VERY nice pool and hot tub, which no one told me about (its sort of hidden) even though this is my 2nd time at this hotel. So, next time, I will check it out. I recommend this hotel but realize that the convenience of being next to the border is why you are paying so much. Breakfast is typical for a low cost hotel.
With the San Ysirdo Boarder (south bound) closed for the weekend we needed a place close enough to travel into Mexico via the walking enterance. Location was great, not more than 10 minutes from the boarder and right between several resturants.
If you are looking for a great place to stay to go over the boarder for medical care in Tijuana, look no farther! THIS IS IT! The Best Western Americana Inn in San Diego offers a medical rate which is reasonable and convenient for boarder crossing patients. This hotel/motel has everything you need to make your stay feel just like being at home; and, with all the convinces of home. Large screen T.V. with premium channels; Local calls and wake-up service; Microwave; coffee maker; and mini-fridge. Even an iron and ironing board and hair dryer. Also, a desk and two 3 drawer dresser units. The tub/shower worked well, and drained quickly. Plenty of hot water, too. The staff is friendly and professional. The grounds are immaculate and kept up daily. Daily breakfast bar, and two restaurants just across from the lobby. Check out the in-ground pool and Jacuzzi with restrooms, just across from the lobby, for a lazy day of rest and sun. Or, just come to visit friends in San Diego or Chula Vista, CA. As a smoker, I especially appreciated my smoking room. I may want to smoke a cigarette, but I don't want to sleep in an ashtray. The room was very clean and well ventilated. And, there is a patio right next to the pool and across from the breakfast bar/lobby, with picnic tables and ashtrays, for us smokers. All in all, I am recommending this hotel to all my friends. This is one of the best stays I've ever had in a hotel/motel, in the U.S.
The staff is excellent , The location is perfect for an over the road truck driver with a large vehicle loading at the Port of National City. The rooms are clean and very convenient great Internet perfect for family or business travel.
I can't say enough about this hotel. I have stayed at this hotel for years. Especially when I have to go to Doctors or Dentists in Mexico. They make it so convenient with their shuttle service. The rooms are clean and quiet. I travel alone so it's important to feel safe, I have always felt safe at this hotel. The staff is always pleasant and customer service is great. I will always stay here when I'm spending days in Mexico.
This room was clean and fairly quiet. The bed was a little lumpy and the linens were clean but not high quality. Staff was courteous. My favorite part about this room is that it's close to the freeway and the shower head is fabulous.
Pros: Convenient location near the USA/Mexico border; adjacent to restaurants, a gas station/convenience store, and a bus stop Cons: Musty smelling guest room; small, crowded, noisy breakfast room; limited breakfast choices; ants in guest room Download the SDMTS app and use it to buy a one-day transit pass for $5. Buses on routes 906 and 907 stop directly in front of the hotel. Southbound buses go to the border. Northbound buses go to the transit center, where you can transfer to a trolley to go downtown or to other destinations.
This was a pleasant and comfortable place to stay. The rate was high but it was a last minute reservation for a Saturday night stay. We did not do breakfast due to the long line (waffles were featured but you can only make one at a time).
Our family had a wonderful and relaxing experience at Best Western Americana Inn. The proximity to the U.S./Mexican Border made it very convenient to enjoy a little experience. The staff was very helpful at providing a relaxing experience for our entire family, specially the kids. They loved the breakfast. Thank you...
Yep, one of the cheapest near vegas strip at a cost. Is in no-way soundproofed and I don't mind too much the neighbors around but is on the route of the helicopter tour so every 20 min you hear a helicopter fly around. Stay if you are here just to sleep at night and go around all day because there is no way to have a nice long sleep during the day. Besides that it seems clean and no luxury at all (not that I spected some)
I have stayed here before. It is my go-to when I have business in the San Diego area. Good access to everything. Nice clean rooms and a friendly staff that is very helpful. Looks like a lot of tour groups use this hotel.
check in took 40 minutes folks manning the front desk could not operate the computer and kept answering the phone instead of waiting on line of people in front of him. After we finally got our room we found the carpets were filthy our feet turned black in minutes and when we informed the front desk we got a shrug.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Americana Inn in San Diego. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Our room was comfortable and cozy. It was very convenient to visit our grandson in Imperial Beach so we will stay there again when we visit.
I was pretty impressed with my stay, overall I would definitely go back especially for the price. They could offer a better breakfast in my opinion but no biggie. The hotel is located next the freeway which is nice because it's easy to get on and travel like 9 miles up to downtown San Diego. Wasn't noisy at night, very well lighted area and unnoticed the parking lot had a lot of cameras which makes me feel safe with leaving my car out there.
The hotel was fair. It was clean and comfortable. The BEST thing about the Best Western is the transportation that it provides to Tijuana. That is extremely convenient and beats any other way at getting to/from Tijuana. Breakfast is in a rather small room. We found that the earlier you eat, the less crowded. The only hot options were waffles during the weekdays. On Saturday, they added re fried beans and some type of enchilada casserole. It was tasty. Would definitely stay here again solely due to the transportation.
Best Western San Ysidro was very accommodating for our visit to the Bio-medical center Tijuana Mexico our stay here was comfortable and the staff was most helpful and made our trip very easy Will definitely return and stay here again !
clean comfortable place to stay near the border. close to the outlet mall and freeway. breakfast is always good. we have stayed here several times because it is close to my mother in laws house, not real happy with $150 a night on the weekend, but hey, its San Diego and rates are usually higher on the weekend anyway
Great service and very friendly staff. The pillows were a little lumpy maby some new pillows could be in the budget. But overall a great place to stay and really appreciated that Coco's catered to the hotel guests. Thanks
I use this Best Western because it has a shuttle service that goes across the Mexican boarder for my dental work. It makes the stay even more enjoyable that the facility is always in top condition. Recently it has been remodeled.
Very nice hotel from staff to room comfort and a great hot breakfast with a superb Mexican flair. The pool was clean and very inviting. I was checking out Saturday morning but had a few minutes to spare so they allowed me to sun and get my daily dose of Vitamin D!! Thanks for a great stay.
Stayed here for convenience to the Biomedical Hoxsey clinic. Was very comfortable and staff very helpful. Will stay there again. Transportation provided for our convenience. Breakfast was also very good.
After checking out early from our original hotel due to how much we were disappointed, checking in and staying here at the BW was a breathe of fresh air. The desk clerk, Claudia was nice, friendly, and has a good personality. We had a nice conversation. She even remembered and greeted us the next day. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. We appreciated all the electrical outlets. Although we did not have time to use the pool or Jacuzzi, The pool, Jacuzzi , and pool area was clean. Parking was convenient. This hotel is close to shopping, restaurants, the border, and freeway. It is also convenient for those going to get medical care in Tijuana. We will definitely stay here again on our future travels.
Nothing bad to say.... everything was perfect.... would definitely recommend to family and friends. Keep up the good work. You guys rock!!! I like how friendly the staff is. I will definitely stay there again.
I've stayed in a lot nicer, and in a lot worse! The check in staff was very friendly on check in. The housekeeping staff was friendly and while she didn't quite understand what I needed she did find a maintenance man that did understand and was very resourceful in resolving my issue. Again front desk staff was very friendly at check out.
They always give the room I request if it is at all possible to do so, staff is good, rooms clean, all bathrooms have been redone and are quite nice, Just off I-5 so easy access to SD or TJ. The restaurant ajacent to the motel has reasonably good food.
This hotel was very clean and the staff were excellent. We had medical appointments in Tijuana and chose this hotel because of its location. Pleased with that choice. The only comment I have is that we booked with AAA discount and when asked at the front desk about a shuttle to the border were told that we had to pay a higher rate (+$27). We drove instead and parked at the border. Next time might even consider a cab to the border as it is very close. Additional comment for those staying at this hotel for access to Tijuana: We learned there are 2 border crossings the "old" and the "new" one. We went into Tijuana at the old border crossing and had to wait in line. We returned via the new border and had a less than 5 minute wait. The new crossing may not yet be well known.
This was the best hotel by far the rooms were super clean the beds were super soft and the decor was beautiful and the staff was awesome great breakfast and restaurants was in walking distance of hotel
San Diego is a great place to go. Best western in perfect location for every place and attraction we wanted to see....hope to visit again in October 2017. Next time I would really like to stay about two weeks
Stayed here with my sister in law and my husband. The got to the hotel very late so the check in window had to be used. Check in was quick and clerk was pleasant and prompt. The room could use some updating but overall clean and comfortable. In the morning my sister in law and I needed a shuttle into mexico and there was one on its way so we were told to pay 60 each round trip. We explained we needed to be picked up a week later and they told us we just needed to call 24 hours prior to schedule our pickup. Fast forward a week we call and Claudia answers. Shes totally rude and she tells me that we cannot be picked up and we would need to pay again. I hang up and try again hours later in hopes to speak with someone else. The second clerk that answered basically told us the same except she was much nicer. We were prepared to pay again for a pickup since the driver was very professional. We scheduled the pickup, the drive back was easy breezy and fast! Upon arrival to the hotel Martha and the hotel manager were at the front desk. I showed my original receipt and she said I didn't have to pay again because I already had and they both remembered us. They were super nice and I will gladly stay with them again and use the shuttle that they provide! I won't worry about Claudia the rude clerk because she didn't represent all the employees there.
The Best Western served its purpose. We had a comfortable place to stay for the night although not in the nicest area of the city. The breakfast in the morning had more offerings than most hotels like this one.
It's not high end. But they get you to the cancer clinic easily. They have discounts for cancer patients. They also have shuttle to clinic Nice pool area. Small restaurant next door in walking distance. They try to have food if your on Hoxsey diet.
The check in was a problem when they assigned me a room that was still being lived in. Another lady who had checked into before me also had the same problem. The room was very clean. The room was quiet too.
The hotel looks decent from the exterior and the lobby looks clean and presentable. The.room of. The other hand reeked of cigarettes. We called the front desk and they couldn't change our room and they offered no solution or apologies. The room also had several tenement issues such as horrible water pressure, broken power outlets with exposed wires, a huge gap under the door that could easily allow bugs and rodents to enter any room, crooked towel racks, broken tissue wall insert, and the stench of cigarettes.....horrible! The beds were not comfortable either and the noise from the neighboring home was torture. Our roo. Was located at the end of the building close to the homes and the people must have been partying until 3 am because the music and talking was out of control. Horrible experience! At $100 a room, I would expect a little better. Won't be staying here ever agian.
Just remodeled it appears, nice rooms, close to fast food & gas station. Very nice BK in the morning. The housekeeping staff was helpful with our early check-in. TV was turned off by prior guest and maintenance came in 5 min. to correct.
The sheet kept coming off the mattress, the door doesn't close all the way, the price of hotel is too expensive compared to what you actually get, the room smells bad, it is noisy, they charge you $10 for getting a little makeup on wash cloths and they don't display it anywhere in the room about it
Having saints and figures at the lobby will not help you at all to maintain clean a hotel. get to work. that includes your office. it is an unhealthy hotel. very dirty and expensive for the product offered. stay away from it.
Love the place very clean and great service at the reception, and the place its just fantastic clean and very close to the border very good if you have to go to mexico its only 5 minutes to the border.
Easy check in, it is a confortable place , spacious rooms, very clean, it has restaurants close by , includes breakfast, has enough parking spaces. Very close to Las Americas outlet center. Safe and quiet.
I stayed at this location as it was recommended when visiting the BioMedical clinc in Tijuana. The staff here is exceptional and the shuttle service to the clinic is hands-down the only way to 'fly'- lol. If you are driving a rental car the entrance ramp to I-5 is literally across the street from the hotel. I had a perfect experience at this hotel and feel that is the standard here- very friendly, efficient andprofessional.
This motel is just okay in my opinion. Cons first: breakfast room is entirely too small as guests have to line up outside. Most have to eat outside so weather is a factor. The voices are VERY limited. Nothing hot some days. We had our room sprayed for ants one night. The next night we had to move because an entire colony had moved in. There are 1/2" or more, gaps under the outside door. They do not offer airport shuttles like their ads says. Pros: updated bedding and comfortable beds. There is a nice restaurant in front, Coco's. Pick up shuttle to Tijuana clinics is well managed.
When I arrived I was greeted with friendly staff and I was taken care of within 10 minutes. I was there for 4 nights and every time I require any assistance the staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was a bit simply with no Waffles. Every other Best Western has Waffles. Not good, cold cereal, boiled eggs BUT no Waffles.
after spending an awful and disappointing night at the el primero boutique bed&breakfast hotel in san diego/chula vista, i ditched the second night i had booked there and spontaneously booked a night at the best western americana inn for 79 €. the best western americana inn definitely lives up to the corporate standards of the bw hotel chain. there was an inviting parking lot, and friendly, professional and quick service at the registration. noteworthy is the nice decoration in the check-in area. the room was, as usual, spacious and the furniture seemed practical and relatively new. especially the bathroom made a clean and hygienic impression. the bedsheets were clean (which, as my experience in the other hotel had taught me, is not a matter of course!) and the bed was huge and comfortable. overall, my stay at the americana inn was relaxed, all the interaction with the staff went smoothly and there was zero reason for complaints. i recommend this motel for any low-key stay in the san diego area. when i come to san diego again, i will definitely think about returning to the best western americana inn! five stars, especially for the price-quality-ratio.
Though our room was large and there were many places to put luggage, there was one thing that plagued our visit. The balcony above our room was collapsing. When we came back the afternoon of the first day, there was police caution tape draped down in front of our room. While I do appreciate their willingness to fix this problem, it is obvious that this disrepair had been going on a long time before they did something about it. The pool area is surprisingly nice. Breakfast was "okay"--nothing special. Front desk staff were very courteous and friendly.
This hotel is great if you need to be close to the Mexican Border. Make sure you get the shuttle early in the morning or else its too late. Room is clean and pool is nice as well. Most staff members are helpful. Good place to stay.
This hotel was recommended by the Cancer treatment center. Was very nice and the staff was really nice! Really close to the border and they have a shuttle thats included in the room rate. We will be staying again... Thanks to the manager and the staff..
The rooms have been remodeled and are comfortable, the staff had an impatient clerk. Wifi worked well, television was good, room was clean and well kept. Loud people at night but not motels fault. We stay here because of the medical shuttle service to TJ. The service is very beneficial for clinic visits.
Great service and very clean hotel. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The front desk personnel are very friendly and very helpful. The price for the rooms are not bad compare to other hotels near by and don't look or are clean as this one.
We were catching a cruise ship leaving San Diego. Took Amtrak down and caught a taxi to the hotel. Nice room, pleasant surroundings, good staff, free breakfast which was surprisingly generous, free shuttle to the cruise dock.
Family stayed here 2 nights, the room is small for family of 4. Beds are queens and comfortable. Looks like it was just remodeled, new bathroom fixtures and furniture and paint. They have free breakfast and wiry is really fast. We requested a quiet room and we got it at the end second floor facing the town homes. Hotel 2 miles fro the border and the shopping outlets.
A good motel experience. A clean, convenient room with mini-fridge and a mini-kitchen sink. The property was clean and well maintained, with notably friendly and efficient staff. An above-average continental breakfast with the option of outdoor tables and chairs. Adjacent to the I-5 but the traffic noise was minimal and our room was quiet. We were in town to visit the museums. in Balboa Park in San Diego, and this Best Western is about 14 miles to the south, but the only motels in San Diego proper that I saw with the same price point had bad customer satisfaction ratings on TripAdvisor, while this BW had a great TripAdvisor rating plus the price we wanted so the short drive to downtown was well worth it. We ate at the Cocos next door. Would definitely stay here again.
About 20 minutes south of San Diego on I-5, this was a wonderful place to stay for the night. Access to the commuter train was a 3 minute drive and we took it to the Padres game---let off right at the station. Be careful on the "trolley" and just buy ONE one-way ticket just before you use it. The ticket is good ONLY for 2 hours and you can get a citation for $200. Back to the hotel, very comfortable, fridge/microwave, and a nice breakfast. The price is one of the best and easy access to the freeway is even better.
A nice clean room in a nice location. Had the usual highway noise and a five o'clock AM garbage truck that sounded like an alarm clock, but no major irritations. All equipment in room worked well. Had a two night stay. Breakfast was well stocked. First morning only hot item was boiled eggs but on second morning there was fried eggs and some Mexican item. Carl's Jr. is right there. Parking lot was sufficient.
This hotel is run by an excellent, helpful, and caring staff. Whatever we needed they instantly took care of. The hotel is comfortable and furnished well. Although we did not use the pool, many others did and enjoyed it immensely. The complimentary breakfast is wonderful especially on the weekend. Of all the hotels we've stayed at, this is one of the best complimentary breakfasts.
Great staff! Clean. Had to get towels each night, the main bathroom light did not work, remote did not work (was replaced) alarm clock made static noise all night. For the price and location that we needed it was fine. I usually always stay at Best Western and this would rate as a 6 to the ones I usually stay at.
This is a hotel 2 + miles from the Mexico border and very few of the staff spoke English The very close-by Coco's restaurant staff had very few English speakers and there are very few places to get a good meal nearby. The room are older but ok except for the slick bathroom floor and the terrible showerhead. The pool had people coming to swim that were not staying at the hotel and the room temp was difficult to maintain a steady temp.
We stayed here over Memorial weekend due to it was one of the few last minute hotel rooms available for under 200.00. It is right on the US / Mexico border. The facility, service and cleanliness was excellent.
The Staff was very helpful. We thought we had a problem with the airline, they helped us get it figured out. The full hot breakfast was more than we expected and very good. Unlike some places where you have to park far away from your room, our car was just outside the door. The staff seam to make things very easy for all the guests.
We arrived early at the Hotel (11 am) but there was no problem to check-in already and leave our luggage. Reception was quick, easy and friendly. We had a room on the 2nd floor, so you we had to carry the luggage upstairs. Parking is easy and free. The room is standard and clean with free WiFi that works well, a refrigerator, a microwave and coffee machine. There is no safe. We slept very well; the bed was very good. Breakfast was included. There was orange and cranberry juice, boiled eggs, muffins, you could toast your bread and even prepare Belgian waffles (however, though I am from Belgium, I don't know anybody in my surroundings, who eats waffles at breakfast. But that is culture difference, I guess). In summary breakfast was OK. A minor point to mention; the vending machines were sold out.
I gave it a "very good" because I was expecting it to be as nice as it was. We went to a wedding and this was the closest hotel to the reception, so we booked our stay here. If you are on a budget and want breakfast included, this is the place for you. I would stay here again if needing to be this south in California. it is about 15-20 minutes from downtown San Diego. Quiet and not issues.
Was very nice - upkept rooms - staff excellent. Close to many food facilities. Breakfast could be a little better and in a larger room but overall okay. Was close for our beautiful Granddaughter's wedding and close to all venues. Nice area and nice weather.
ive been to all kinds of hotels and motels and the best western chain has to be one of the best. They give you your privacy and they will try there best to get you what you need. I ve only ever had on eproblem with these places and it was me checking out very late but other then that no problems. they have a great price compared to the other around here plus there not like the others. You can have company without worry. the other cheap hotels/motel will kick you out if they wanted. anyways great hotel
it is a clean, well-located place. staff were helpful and polite. in the midst of lots of fast food places which might be typical but not my favorite environment. Breakfast was good. Sheets, pillowcases, and towels did not have the smell of chemical perfumed laundry detergent. a BIG plus in my book.
I would definitely stay here when I'm in town. Very clean, polite and courteous staff. Very helpful, good price and the breakfast was great. The Chilaquiles and refried beans were delicious. they have a variety of bagels, muffins, Danishes, cereals and oatmeal and different fruits. it was more than I expected.
The hotel is nice, decent for the area. However, management needs to a better job noise over the weekends. There is too much noise and car stereos thumping in the parking lot (you can feel it without hearing it). Management can eliminate these easily with a little proactive management. Also, noticed over Easter Holiday, families occupied parking lot pool and BBQ. Management needs to step up and only allow guests with minimum family members at these hotel amenities. These should not be public used and occupy all parking. In addition, at 6:30 am, breakfast starts and is already a line to the door to get in. Be aware, if you're not first, be prepared for a ‘Slop Hog' fest. Management needs to monitor service, while open, to keep people responsible for cleanliness. Otherwise, rooms were always clean and comfortable.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and neat and comfortable. Convenient location. Really good restaurant right next door plus an excellent outlet mall at the next exit. I have stayed there 3 different times. Highly recommended.
Great hotel near border that has shuttle option across. We as many others use this hotel to have medical and dental work done in TJ. It is clean, friendly and near to gas station, Coco's coffee shop and a Carls Jr.. Rooms are moderate, clean and staff is friendly. Fantastic outlets within 5 miles. Breakfast is very good and included in rate. We have stayed here at least on 5 trips.
Nice peaceful place with super friendly front desk people, especially Saida (a jewel). Reliable transportation back and forth to Tijuana, although we did get stuck in a 2 1/2 hour traffic jam leaving Mex. to return to U.S. Within walking distance of food, post office, and most everything in this small border town. I always felt very safe. ** prepare to wait a long time for them to pick up the phone at the front desk. There is never more than one person there, and it can get pretty busy.
best place to stay closer to the mexican border, very convenient, rooms are clean, nice continental breakfast, staff very friendly, professional and knowledgeable... price is average to expensive but worth it.
I stay at the motel as a way to skip over to Mexico for Medical check ups. Serves the purpose well, neat clean and well organized. I would recommend this hotel for a transit hotel as it's basic but good
Amazing place to stay. Was there with my wife and daughter. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although, I was a little apprehensive of staying that close to Mexico border, in the end it turned out to be a be a great experience.
We stay in this particular location since we take the shuttle to the Bio-medical clinic in Tijuana. We have always had a pleasant stay. Breakfast is nice also is next door to Coco's, and a short 2 blocks to the juice and smoothie store, important features for those on a special diet.
Clean and comfortable room. But noise from two freeways and large car carrier trucks that come in at night and leave about 4-4:30 am. Freeway noise starts at 5. Very close to TJ though and friendly folks. Coffee for breakfast was great! Some rooms are sheltered from the noise but not many. We will try for those next time.
B. W. was the perfect place to stay while needing dental attention in Tijuana, Mexico. The shutlle service was exceptional. The staff very friendly and helpful. The price was right. The pool , and whirlpool was perfect. The breakfast , wonderful, fresh.
The hotel and room were all very nice and clean. Staff was courteous and helpful. Only complaint is that the refrigerator in the room was a bit noisy and went on quite frequently. Other than that, I have no further comments.
Stayed for two nights; would have liked to stay longer.very friendly and homy place; nice people very convenient location if you are heading to Mexico. Breakfast service was outstanding Hotel is close to busy road but still has a country like feeling. I highly recomend it.
Was a very nice stay ! Staff went above and beyond to make my stay Excellent ! Very personable treated me like I was long lost family ! Rooms were very clean Bed was Extremely Comfortable ! Very affordable I was there because of work and If I`m back down there I will definitely Stay there again !
nice place neat theme restaraunts in walking distance Carls Jr Carrows close to freeway great staff very friendly clean and easy parking acceess in and out on site security in parking lot even a cookie at check in we were very impressed with the neighberhood surronding it very nice just a great bestwestern in great location
It was a good stay, good employees, clean room and satisfactory accommodations. We stay every time we come to San Diego. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was typical but it was good. The staff was pleasant and very helpful, bathroom spotless and well kept.
Had we known about the location of this hotel we would have never booked it. The hotel photos on-line looked very nice and we've stayed at other Best Western hotels so we were expecting a decent experience. We booked a non-smoking room on-line and when we arrived we were given a very smelly smoking room. We could not have stayed for more than a few minutes in this room because of the odor so we went back to the office and they gave us a non smoking room. Unfortunately there were many big semi trucks driving through the parking lot near our ground level room. The walls were thin and the sound was disruptive. Someone was power washing the parking lot for a couple of hours which was quite annoying. The room had been poorly updated with sub par bed linens and was not very clean. Neither of us felt comfortable with the area of this hotel - it didn't feel safe. Not a great experience for us.
Great hotel. Can't beat that price for the quality of the hotel. Friendly staff. Great room. I have zero complaints. Will definitely be staying there again. Loved it. Its close to the main attractions. A bit close to the border but for that price, definitely worth it. Highly recommend this hotel. My girlfriend and I loved it.
To be frank after reading some of the reviews here we were a bit apprehensive. We were in town for a wedding this weekend and found the hotel and accommodations very pleasant. No it's not the Ritz, but afforded us a comfortable stay. Room was clean. Breakfast had items for those eating gluten free or not. I would stay in a Best Western hotel again.
The hotel is clean, the room has microwave, hair dryer, freezer, a good tv. The hotel has a room with some machines to do exersise, and the breakfast is ok. People are very nice. San Diego is a little bit far, but I think it is worth it. Besides next to the hotel (2 minutes walking) there is a place to eat.
The staff was very helpful with recomindations of things to see while in the area. The breakfast was all I wanted as well. The parking next to the room was helpful as well. I will stay here again on my next visit.
I was pleasantly surprised at how pretty, clean and friendly everyone was. The room was very clean and comfortable. The room looked very up to date and we loved that it had a microwave and sink. The beds were very comfortable and they were able to accommodate our early check in and late check out. Will stay again. Thank you
This was my third time staying here. And we find this hotel very clean but the beds were getting terribly old and sagged. We were told that they had a "new" internet supplier and that the Internet had improved. This was not the case! The first two nights we stayed on the top floor and the Internet was ok. We hadn't stayed on the top floor before so assumed that it had improved. A few days later we booked back in and were placed on the ground floor. TERRIBLE INTERNET! My question is, is it the location on the ground floor and the signal blocked or what is the problem? Each room was close to reception and the second room below the first. Another problem is the times trying to speak to staff, who don't speak very good English. There are wonderful staff that speak perfect English, but then you have to wait till the next shift to speak to them. This was extremely frustrating on our 3 stays.
Best Western has beds that are very comfortable, the breakfast they offer is a very poor selection and has gotten worse from when I stayed there in January, May and August of 2015, It could be the new management.
Great value for a clean, safe hotel. shuttles to Mexico are real convenient and priced modestly for those that need them, Friendly staff who are helpful ans accomodating. This is our third stay and plan on stating again in the future.
My stay was ok as we used the hotel to transfer to Tijuana. The service was provided and it works well. Its a good hotel to use as a stepping stop basically. Clean neat and simple. The Breakfast is typical of the US market in this price bracket. Pretty average
This is conveniently located if you have business in Tijuana. The facility is clean and neat. Also, there is no noise from the road. We stayed there for 4 nights. Both during the daytime and at night, the hotel was quiet. I especially appreciated that at night.
The staff and amenities are perfect in every way. There's a worry free environment that makes me relaxed and feel welcome.I have stayed at that location many times.I get the great service and comfort that make me keep coming back, even if I'm 40 minutes from my job site. It's worth the drive. I have a lot of jobs in the San Diego area and you can count on me staying there again. ;- )
Nice stay.. our kids loved swimming pool and jacuzzi. Having 3 fast food restaurants around hotels makes it very convenient for families, its a plus!!. No need to drive anywhere for dinner or breakfast..
I stayed at this hotel this past week because I was visiting a clinic in Tijuana Mexico. The hotel offers a shuttle to the clinic which is very convenient. The hotel was clean and adequate. And it was a fair price. The next time I have to visit the clinic in Mexico, I will stay at this hotel.
If you are traveling to Tijuana for medical reasons, the Best Western Americana is the best place to stay as they have a shuttle to the medical facilities across the border. While the hotel is about 20 miles down the 5 from downtown San Diego, it is also a good alternative when you are visiting the city as it is less expensive for the comfort and amenities than downtown accommodations. The hotel is close to a huge outlet mall and two restaurant chains are within walking distance. The rooms are large with a coffee pot and little refrigerator which is great for families and longer stays. There is a huge free breakfast offered in the morning and the site has a beautiful pool and grounds.
We checkin late 9pm. Staff was very nice. We bought some beer at the gas station(with in walking distance), safe naborhood. In the room was a list of restaurants that could deliver to the hotel with phone numbers and operating hours. Very clean and quiet. Breakfast closed at 10 but it was very good. Thank you
Good hotel. Very convenient to US/Mexican border. The mattresses very hard making sleep very difficult to maintain for all three in our group. Nicely remodeled bathrooms. Good value. Coco's Restaurant next door is very convenient and the food is great. Staff is very friendly. Pool and hot tub were quite relaxing.
great place to stay and a great value...only downside was the small breakfast lounge. great location by the freeway and the staff was super helpful I will stay at this hotel in the future. me and my wife are already planning a trip in November.
The Hotel is good but the room 100% very unclean and poor, dear owner or manager please walk or visit each room once month per time, the rooms has dirty, a lot spider's web, the shower cabin to rusty.
Decent rooms for the rate, friendly staff, very close to boarder, very basic breakfast, there is a kitchenette with microwave mini fridge coffee pot and small sink. Didn't get a chance to use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice.
