Best Western Plus Lackland Hotel & Suites

Front staff are so friendly, super helpful in telling us about local sites to hit up for vacation. Double Queen beds. Room is pristine, air condition works well, fridge and microwave in room. shower/tub combo. They had the luggage carts available when we arrived at 4 pm. After a 12 hour drive, this saved us! We had a party of four, and got 6 large towels, 2 each lotion, shampoo and conditioner were included. We got a room on the 4th floor, very quiet. Ice maker was out on our floor, but floor below and 1st floor ice maker is good. Plenty of outlets too! Indoor pool is an awesome thing to have available for lull days too! Would stay here again!

The room was so clean it felt like home the pillows were fluffy and the towels were so nice we forgot a toothbrush brush and they had all the higiene items needed at the front desk! Breakfast was great as well!

This hotel is very clean with an excellent staff. Everyone at the hotel did everything possible to make our stay pleasant. It is conveniently located, and if you have business at the Air Force Base only minutes away, I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Elevator was broken all 3 nights we were there and we were on the 4th floor. I have titanium in my left ankle and right foot so it was really difficult for me. But the hotel was very close to the base

Nice clean hotel have stayed there several times, rooms and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is above average and the staff are very nice. Parking spots are very tight especially if you are driving a pick up truck or large SUV, they should re-paint the lines and add several inches to every spot plus a few more handicap spots. The bar is on the expensive side to sit there and have a few drinks.

I stayed here for a business trip. The location is easy to get to and very convenient. The price was also very competitive. They were actively making improvements to the hotel during my stay showing investment in the guests.

Stayed her for my sons Airforce graduation at Lackland. So close to the base. Less than a 5 min ride. Rooms were clean. The front desk staff were great!! Very friendly and gave us a map of the area and recommendations for the two days of graduation. Would recommend to anyone coming for graduation and looking for a close affordable option.

It was very clean and great service overall. And will comeback to it again. Will refer to others so they can anjoy the quality sleep they can get accomplished at this wonderful location. Absolutely satisfying

Went to Texas for the first time for my son BMT Air Force graduation. Iw was supposed to have gotten a rental but the reservation somehow got canceled. The hostess was very helpful with recommendations

BMT graduation for our son. Traveled 12 hours away with family. Good place to stay overall. Perfect location to military base. Clean rooms and breakfast area. Staff lady wasn't very friendly, everything seemed to bother her.

The hotel itself is average. The toilet was weird very high water and very low seats so watch where you put your hands. The shower was good the tub was a bit stained, but the water was hot. Housekeeping had to be asked not to enter even though there was a sign on the door for privacy. What made the stay enjoyable was the extremely helpful and super nice staff ( Thank You, especially Jennifer). Breakfast was very good but the same rotating cuisine so if your staying a bit could get boring. It is extremely close to Lackland AFB so if you looking to be close to the base this is the place. They have a map and serve breakfast early for the Graduation activities which is very thoughtful. I would stay here again it was close to all my needs.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. It is a very nice hotel. We spent 6 night here. Did not use the pool or internet. Hotel was 6 miles from my son's home which worked out well for our visit. Room was quiet. Appreciated that there was overnight security or someone watching parking lot. I slept well each night. It would have been nice to have towel racks to hang up bath towels. We hung them up on hangers in the closet. :)

This hotel is within minutes from Lackland AFB. However, the cleanliness of the room was lacking. I chose to clean it myself instead of reporting it because I felt like it would have prolonged the time. The fridge was dirty and the chair had hair all over it. Both were very noticeable. The lobby was very clean as well as the bar area. Breakfast was great!! I chose this hotel because of the location.

I was pleasantly surprised with the location and room I stayed in. I would definitely stay again when in San Antonio. I stayed in a king size bed and it was spacious, the ceiling fan was a great surprising touch as well. Will be back.

Stayed here for our sons Air Force graduation, so close to the base our whole family stayed here, they put us in rooms all next to each other :) so nice going back and forth from rooms and visiting. Had the best expressor bar for free open 24 hours huge hit with the family, it was so good, breakfast was great. Everything so clean, room cleaning services will help you anytime you need it they were all so great.

We stayed here in April and August I can say it the location is less than 2 miles from the base Breakfast is served early on Graduation days. Ample parking is available Rooms are clean and the staff is helpful and Friendly It is a 15 minute drive from the Airport and 20 minutes from the Riverwalk I will recommend this hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This hotel is amazingly affordable and is kept very clean. Has a modern vibe and we loved it. The breakfast was great and the staff was also wonderful. It is nearby the Lackland Air Force Base and was kept pretty busy with military families. We had kept pretty loyal to Hyatt hotels but this was a great eye opener for us. The quality and accommodations were just as nice. Would highly recommend!

Its new, clean and excellent Customer Service. The room was amazing, stand up shower glass, bed was large and so comfortable and thick . Room was spacious , cool and so much choices to choose from breakfast.

This hotel is in a great spot if you are going for an AF basic training graduation. It is close to base and only 20 minutes or so to the river walk. The hotel has a parking lot attendant at night, which is great!

Old room that bathroom fixtures that need to be replaced due to water damage. Many old furniture that works as intended but old. Main concern was small bugs getting through the closed window. Advised staff and was only given insecticide. No staff help or follow up.

The room was clean and well presented. The front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. I had the breakfast one morning and the had a great selection. The in hotel bar was also convenient and staff was friendly.

I would recommended best Western plus to everyone. Great experience, great staff great food. Our family went to see our son graduate from Lackland Air Force Base, and I would highly recommend any families wanting to stay by Lackland Air Force Base to stay here at the best Western plus.

Only down side from my experience was that service from lounge was ok. Had to find out from another customer that they had waffles. Pool was freezing cold. And they had no towels. Over all stay was good.

Awesome location to the air force base so close and easy to find. The maps given were so easy to locate things on base. I am recommending this hotel to a friend who will be visiting their son in July. Also I loved the washer and dryer in the hotel, much needed and convenient.

This facility is fairly new and accommodates the JBSA Lackland BMT graduation with discounted pricing and offers 5:30 breakfast so those involved can leave early enough to reserve great seating at both Wednesday and Thursday activities. It is located very near a freeway on-ramp so request an odd numbered room in the back of the building for noise control. The indoor pool and spa is a great relaxer for the early morning days when they are maintained properly. Overall, great BMT spot!

I have stayed at this property 2x now and have had good experiences both times. The hotel is clean, the rooms decently appointed, the breakfast offering plentiful and good as well as available for a reasonable time frame. As with all hotels, guests allowing doors to slam and children to run the halls contributes to noise but those things are pretty much unavoidable. Other than those things, the hotel is fairly quiet. I didn't utilize the pool or hot tub during my stay but I saw families doing so.

This is just our opinion, and preference but the bed was like sleeping on concrete. Overall it was a good stay, nice room quiet floor. The breakfast staff was very friendly and personable. The night shift front desk staff was friendly

The staff was very professional and courteous! The hotel was very nice and clean and the hotel adjusted there serving hours to accommodate having to be at Air Force base very early! We would definitely stay on this property in the future!

There were cockroaches in the room, mildew in the shower and sink, and it smelled musty. We checked out a couple hours later and went to the Courtyard Marriott instead. There's so much more I could say but just avoid this place.

Location was less than 5 min from Valleyhigh entrance. Google maps will even route you to avoid the line in the morning! Hotel staff friendly and informative. Hotel was clean. Breakfast advertised as 530am start but it was ready closer to 5am for early morning graduation ceremonies. Hot breakfast was ok, great for a quick free breakfast. Hot tub jets not functioning. But hot tub and pool were clean. Water pressure sucked for showers. But tolerable due to the convenience and price. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for anyone attending BMT graduation!

The room had an odor. I felt as though with the money being doesn't that it should of been a little better. They only thing I could say is that it was really close to the base and that's was a plus . The toilet was too low and being 6'5 I felt as though I was on the floor . The king bed in the room.. wow I could literally feel the springs in that mattress.. my wife and I travel a lot and to have my parents down the hall from us.. they also complained about the bed.. there window in there room was left opened by an employee..

Undoubtedly, there are nicer places to stay in SA. That having been said it's not a complete mess - it's very ok-ish. If you are in town for a USAF graduation, and are from a rural area like us and not used to the huge metro areas - this place was ideal because of the very short and simple route to the Lackland AFB Valley hi gate. It's clean enough. The beds sorta suck. The room had an odd smell but it wasn't strong and did not notice it after running the ac, getting room cool. The breakfast was not really self serve which was (I'm guessing) their attempt at making sure food was consumed AT the hotel by PAYING customers. Nothing wrong with that - just have not seen it before. In summary, We did not want to risk a lengthy drive in SA traffic and all the possible delays causing us to miss the very early and very important usaf events. No way would we stay here again otherwise.

The hotel is in a quiet, safe area. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and well kept, and the beds were amazing. Couldn't believe how nice it was for the price. Definitely staying here next time my husband and I are in the area.

Stayed here in October 2022. It's a nice hotel. The room was clean, I did enjoy how soft the pillows were. I usually don't sleep well when staying in hotels, but I did get a wonderful night sleep, all three nights I was here. Everyone who worked here was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend when staying in San Antonio.

Great staff and facility to use as a base for your Air Force Basic Training graduation ceremonies. Has nice common area in lobby for the “town pass”. Easy, fast access to the base. A number of fast foods within a mile. Would definitely use it again.

We stayed for three nights while attending my son's graduation at Lackland. Location was just minutes away from the Valley Hi gate. Staff very accommodating for BMT families. We were given a print out with detailed directions to and from base and they even served breakfast early on Wed and Thursday mornings for those of us up early to attend graduation events. Would recommend!

This place is right off the highway nice little area Gas station right down the block base is 4 min away! And a lot of other places you get eat or DoorDash from not so far! Staff was really nice. I would definitely be back!

We were robbed on Friday night 2 September after 1900 CST. My wife's backpack with electronics, proscription medication and jewelry was taken from the room, roughly $2,000 worth of items. We noticed the missing items when we returned early Saturday morning the 3rd. After bringing the matter up to the staff they had the manager come in the next morning. He informed my wife and me that the cameras in the hall way do not work and there was no way to see what happen and simply said "sorry" for the inconvenience. He checked the locks but other then that offered zero help in the situation. After speaking with other staff members trying to hopefully find more information we found out that this has been an occurring problem. To my knowledge the hallway cameras have been "broken" for quite some time and I find that completely unacceptable given the price and area this hotel is in. Ive stayed at this location several times now and personally felt the way the lack of interest the manger had was a slap in the face.

If going to Lackland for Graduation. This place is awesome!!!! Great friendly staff, rooms were clean. Breakfast was hot. Worse thing I can say is the vending machines don't work so you have to walk to the front desk and get drinks or ice. Which is not bad but I just didn't want to walk downstairs in my PJs.

Excellent place to stay if attending the BMT graduation. Very accommodating to the Air Force family. One of the best Best Westerns we have stayed at. Close to the base. If we travel to San Antonio again we will stay again.

The room we had really shouldn't be advertised as a suite. One tv, crowded room with bed/bureau/sofa/ chairs/ and desk all close together. Half the electrical plugs didn't work and there were no USB ports to charge your phones with. And while it may seem a small thing, the sink was in the same room as the toilet, making it hard for two people to get ready at the same time.

The reviews are lies. The hotel rooms are nasty. The only part of the hotel that seems decent is the front lobby area the rest of the priority is nasty. I'm not used to luxury but this place is not even just ok. Roaches, mold, covered in dust, metal on doors all rusted. Stained towels and sheets. Refrigerator leaking water. Took Pictures as proof.

The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and always had a genuine smile. Breakfast was good and they serve early with to-go bins for Wed/Thurs graduation festivities. This hotel is 5 min from the gate and has easy access to local stores. HIGHLY recommend.

This hotel is great!! It is so close to the AF Base, food and not too far from downtown! Easy on and off the Highway. The building and rooms are clean, the staff is so wonderful! They have a bar in the lobby and a fantastic breakfast every morning. I can't recommend this hotel enough, we stayed for 6 nights and they made us feel like we were at home!

The Best Western-Lackland is a great location for anyone with activities at Lackland AFB or surrounding areas. It is an older hotel but well maintained. Consistently good hot breakfast, super friendly service from check-in to check-out. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Definitely recommend!

This stay was my first time at any Best Western, and I really enjoyed my stay. Rooms were nice and clean, no musky smell. The AC worked awesome, especially in this Texas heat! Would recommend and will return.

Affordable priced, clean hotel convenient to Air Force BMT at Lackland Air Force Base. Good refund policy with 24 hr advance cancellation which made it our choice over Airbnb. Breakfast included & 24/7 coffee. Beds were very comfortable. Not much area to safely walk for exercise but they do have a pool & workout area. Helpful staff. Would rebook.

Lots of room to relax with our graduate in the hotel without being trapped in our rooms. Hotel is very close to base and made it extremely convenient on graduation day to go between the base and the hotel.

Great location to LACKLAND. Most everything was great except there was no place to hang towels in the shower area. And the pillows was lumpy. I would give this BW a ten if not for that. The staff was always courteous and helpful.

Check in - easy. Lobby - nice. Breakfast - ample. Room #214 - something's wrong with the way it's sealed or air-conditioned. It was sticky and musty. The sheets were thin, and smelled like grandma's basement. Although the a/c was cold, it was still humid. The corners of the shower had some dark mold. not a great stay.

This hotel was awful and disgusting. I woke up one morning and there were roaches everywhere in the bathroom and I have pictures also the ceiling fan has not been cleaned in years there was so much dust on the ceiling fans.. The housekeeper came to clean it and I said don't touch it because there's gonna be dust all over the room because it had not been clean In months.. The manager stated There was a significant issue with the Roaches and the exterminator had put down traps and there are poison or poison pumped into the wall but it has not helped. I had 2 rooms and the manager gave me 15% off for my discomfort. I will definitely tell all my military family and anyone else not to frequent this hotel it is absolutely disgusting.

Staff is to top notch! Always pleasant and accommodating. The premise was clean and well taken care of. Only complaint I wish they had more out side seating to enjoy the beautiful San Antonio weather when resting.

The room we got when we checked in was not what Expedia said we were getting. Overall ok. Our room was a bit run down- tattered towels, old lamps that were tricky to turn on and off. Excellent Service tho!

Our room was very clean, and the included breakfast was greatly appreciated. The pool was small, but my kids still had a lot of fun. We would definitely stay here again if we visit San Antonio in the future.

We had made reservations for my grandson's Air Force tech school graduation. As things go with the military, the date of the graduation was changed, and we called and the hotel graciously changed our reservation. Then, next day, it was changed back, and the hotel again graciously changed the reservation. The staff are extremely friendly. Hotel is spotless, and the rooms I find exceptional. The breakfast was typical for a hotel breakfast, but it was good. I would most definitely recommend this location to anyone, especially if you are visiting Lackland Air Force Base. I only wish they allowed pets!

The only reason they get a 1 is because the breakfast is decent. No daily housekeeping, fridge and microwave were broken and unusable, extremely noisy room, hot tub broken, pool water smelled, shower floor floods when showering due to only one glass, had to hunt down my own towels to shower, bed mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. Manager never bothered to respond to us and no one attempted to help in any way.

I chose this hotel because I'm partial to Best Western and it was very close to Lackland AFB where we had an appointment. Comfortable room but a little crowded for a handicap accessible room. Breakfast was satisfying.

So the rates for this hotel are all roughly $100 a night give or take. For that I expect a clean room, comfortable bed, and a polite staff. The hotel delivered on all 3. The hotel lacks luxury and modern hotel amenities but then I didn't pay a luxury price. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Lackland AFB for BMT graduation. Many others did as well as this hotel obviously was a popular choice for people in for BMT graduation and the hotel does cater to those guests. Graduation is on Thursdays and the hotel serves breakfast an hour early that day. The staff was also helpful with maps and other helpful info regarding the base. Could this hotel use some sprucing up and updating? Sure. But for those looking for a place to stay for BMT graduation this place fits the bill just fine.

This trip was for our sons Graduation at Lackland AFB. I highly recommend staying here if you are coming to town for this! They has maps at front desk with directions to gate we needed for graduation! The front desk staff was amazing so friendly there was a little incident with our room those ladies went above and beyond to correct it! Such a great experience in a world where customer service does not seem to exist any more!

Pros: Large Rooms (King Suite and Std Queen Room) Good breakfast offered daily Quick access to Lackland gate(s) Cons: Dark room with several non-functional lights Lack of USB ports. Be sure to bring charging blocks. Breakfast same every day. Only a con as we were here 5 days. A few outside entrances do not work for key pad entry. Patio adjacent to pull has no key pad entry so you are locked out unknowingly. Bar/lounge not open. Hot tub does not have operational jets/timer. Very few seating options in pool area. Overall: Would recommend for 1-2 nights. If staying longer I would consider another location even if means a further drive to gate(s) or a split stay.

The room was clean and bedding was super comfy. The shower was strange, there was no door only a glass wall on the same side as the shower head and you got sprayed with cold water when you turned it on and it also allowed water to splash into the floor.. There was only one washcloth left in the room and had to ask for extras. The indoor heated pool was nice and clean but not super heated. I enjoyed the hot tub. The breakfast was good. The overall experience for the price was great! Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in one of the king suites. The pull out bed was broken and the mattress springs also. On top of that there was chip left on the mattress cover and the cover looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long while. There was also a very large dead water bug on the ground by the mini fridge.

I stayed for 2 nights while in San Antonio to watch a loved one graduate from Basic Training at Lackland. This hotel was a 10 minute drive with traffic to Lackland. I used an Uber to the parking area right in front of the gate. My Uber driver knew exactly what to do.

The hotel was fantastic. Quick, easy check-in that was professional. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The internet was quick, and I had no complaints. Great water pressure in the shower which is a must!

The rooms had a very bad odor, we had booked two rooms and both had a bad stink to it. Thankfully, the staff was very friendly and she got the air freshener from her car and we sprayed it in both rooms

First it's in a horrible spot, nothing around it, but my main concern was the staff and cleanliness of the hotel. The room was ok, but there was no towels in our room I had to go get some, I was told the incidental fee was 25.00 not 100.00, the lady at the front did not care about her customer service tone at all , then we get back from dinner and there was noise above us from 10:30-3:00am we called the front multiple times and they said they would take care of it and never did. Waking up in the morning we found 3 roaches in the room and down at breakfast is was dirty and nasty. Plus on top of all this they have a guy walking the parking lot with a flash lot Looking in cars they say it's their security guard but I don't think it was because he was very suspicious!!! The staff was horrible!

I generally stay at Marriott properties but picked this hotel due to its proximity to Lackland AFB. My stay was awesome. Clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast was basic but fresh and excellent. I highly recommend this hotel if you are here for the Air Force BMT graduation. The staff is well versed on the graduation procedures.

The smell was dank and dirty. Walls peeling at the corners. Bathroom was gross with stains on the walls and shower floor not something I would want to stand on. The ventilation system had dirt and white moldy looking growth. I had an asthma attack that I could not get relief from with an inhaler. At 2 am I was making reservations at another hotel not caring about having already paid for the room we were in. Worst night sleep of our lives!

Room was very musty entire time there. Curtain had to be reattached by husband because they where hanging off… Fan in bathroom didn't work & everytime you opened fridge in room, it leaked! Breakfast was good, only suggestion, have trays available so items are easier to carry to room.. Parking lot is small and every evening had to park in back and walk around building to get in..

The room was beautiful and clean. I had the best sleep on the most comfortable bed. The hotel staff were the most accommodating and knowledgeable team members. They were experienced in guiding guest around town and the nearby attractions, especially if you are in San Antonio for the USAF BMT graduation. It is the best place to stay, extremely close to the base.

You can tell this Best Western used to be top of the line. However, after years of use, rooms need TLC. Many of the curtains/sheers are ripped, hanging down by threads; bathroom tile grout is coming loose and very moldy; hallway carpets smell moldy.

1.shower blows water out on to floor. 2. Electrical plugs wore out so loose chargers won't charge. 3 walls are paper thin can hear neighbors 4. Mattress wore out 5 stayed 4 nights and beds never made. 6 location good for Lackland air force base other than that nothing nearby. Hotel is on down side of its life if they don't fix it now be a lost cause. I don't recommend at all

This is an average Best Western Plus hotel. The breakfast is very good & we like the option of getting a fully cooked breakfast to-go. Some areas of the hotel are in dire need of remodeling - there were areas where the wallpaper was peeling off the walls and in our bathroom, the walls looked like there had previously been water damage because the wallpaper was peeling there too. The room was comfortable & looked clean. The bed was comfortable. The one feature I really liked in the room was the ceiling fan!! San Antonio is HOT & we slept well with the ceiling fan. Staff was very helpful & professional. We would stay again.

Checked in (109)and laid across bed for quick nap and noticed odor from bed. Pulled sheets back and noticed 2 long strands of hair and I'm bald. Ask front desk and she explains no one available but could give me another room. Opened next room (308) and noticed smell immediately and a/c blowing warm air. Transferred to (408). It wasn't the cleanest room but tired of moving around. Disabled vet and walk with a cane. To tired to play musical rooms!! Disappointed

Best experience for Lackland BMT graduation! The hotel offers an early breakfast on graduation day and a discount for that occasion. Great breakfast, clean comfortable rooms, friendly efficient staff!! Would definitely recommend it!!

Stayed here for our son's graduation from basic training. Beds were super comfy, couch was NOT...bathroom needed some updates/repairs as did the outlets in the rooms. Breakfast (due to covid) was the same items every day so we ate out most days. Overall for the price the hotel was good.

hallway and rooms smelled musty. could not sleep well and checked out after 1st night. they also said they ran out of eggs and could not make more scrambled eggs. they couldn't run across street to get more for the later breakfast crowd?

Overall the hotel was very nice, super clean and very nice staff. The only thing we did not like was the restrictions when using the pool and the breakfast did not have much variety, the pictures shown on the website were nothing closed to what they offered.

We recently spent three nights at this hotel to visit our daughters at the Air Force base. It's about a five minute drive to the Luke East gate: very convenient! Our room was on the third floor, and had two queen sized beds. The room was spotless. Breakfast is currently grab and go because of Covid, but there's a good variety. You walk up to the breakfast bar and say what you want, and the employee will dish it up. There was scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. It was pretty good. We didn't use the pool or gym, so I can't comment on them.

NIce hotel, reasonable price, hot breakfast with eggs and bacon in take out container. Hallway did have an older smell to it but the room did not. Room very clean and nice. Large shower but not much water pressure.

Great staff, excellent amenities, good location!! Close to base for easy access. I won't stay at any other hotel in San Antonio. A short trip from the airport. Plenty of things to do around the hotel as well!!!

Let me start off with this is a very nice hotel the rooms could be a little bit cleaner as we found a gummy bear on our floor after we check-in. But really the only negative thing I have to say about this establishment is there one employee that was a mask enforcer even when i have a medical Condition and it is none of her business what it is, one bad employee can ruin a really good business. also the state of Texas is 100% opened no mask required!!!!

Due to Corona nephew birthday plans put on hold still drove to San Antonio to surprise him. Always wanted stay at this hotel. Couldn't sit in lounge use business center. Bar was open also gym. Staff helpful an friendly water didn't get hot even after running it for 15min plugs very loose .

Clean, out of the way, comfortable facility. The breakfast lady was super sweet and pleasant for 0630 in the morning. Rooms were comfortable, the bed felt new, and the linens were fresh and clean. The shower head was large enough that even in a water saving mode, I didn't have to run around to get wet. Great stay in a fine hotel.

Highly recommend this venue! Staff wS super nice and all accommodations were stellar. Would definitely stay again! Close to the base and close to many shopping and eating places! Cozy environment and soft bedding too!

For the AF graduation, it was only 2 mins away. The clerk had all kinds of helpful information and maps upon our arrival. Beds were most comfortable. I am a 270lbs and had a really great night sleep. The breakfast was early for AF coin ceremony and graduation day so we did not have to worry about not having breakfast. I would only encourage the management to have to switch it up from sausage. Pool was clean and good, but the hot tub was broken when we were there. Parking was good and in a very secure location of San Antonio. I would definitely recommend this hotel, even for non AF graduations.

Cozy great place and really close to Lackland AFB and only 20 mins to riverwalk. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The bar open to 11pm. Breakfast was good. Easy to get to and easy to get around to other areas from there.

If you want to avoid all the noise and bustle and traffic yet be close to Lackland AFB, this is a great solution. Very close to Hi Valley gate (West). We had a kitchen unit, clean and good supplies in the kitchen. Tasty breakfast too. Only room for improvement would be the sickly lighting that was in our first kitchen, but our 2nd room later had better, warmer lighting so you could actually see what you were cooking on the stovetop. Recommended! The best part about his hotel is the staff—all were friendly and excellent, much appreciated.

Great hotel friendly staff. Only issue was key cards were touchy for room door. Other than that stay was great. Location perfect for Air Force base. Breakfast was good and they worked around graduation times. Very helpful and getting guest to and from services.

The hotel is a little out of the way and the sign on the roadway was pretty small. We almost missed it and the hotel is set back from the main road a bit. There is large undeveloped land around the hotel covered in dry grass, so there's nothing to see or visit around the hotel within walking distance. Also, the elevator is not working well, so you had to make sure that you didn't hold it open otherwise it would jam. There was a sign on the elevator warning of this problem.

The grout was filthy around the tub and all over the floor. Not sure if it was dirt, mold or mildew :-( The sleeping area was fine and the staff were very friendly at both the front desk and the breakfast area. I won't be back unless the bathrooms are CLEAN.

Welcoming and clean. Staff go above and beyond to do all they can to make you feel “at home” away from home. They even gave me envelopes and paper so that we could write to a trainee while we were there for our Trainee's graduation.

If you have someone at the Lackland AFB, this is the place to stay!! They have all the information that is needed for graduation, from a high lighted map, information on the graduation, the times that you can be on base, just everything! The clerks at the hotel are very friendly and definitely made me feel at home!

Best place to stay when visiting Lackland AFB! they serve breakfast early on the days of BMT graduation. Staff is very knowledgeable about the base events and they are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and breakfast staff attentive! we have stayed here three times so far and highly recommend it!

It is a good location for BMT graduation week. The value is fair. I cannot speak for every floor or room but the second floor hallway and our room spelled very musky and was almost intolerable. Breakfast was sub-par. Overall though, decent value.

Wonderful experience after an 11 day commute including 13 hotel room experiences. Would choose Best Western before others!

This is the BEST hotel we could Find Close to the Valley High gate to the Base, 1.3 Miles. Service was great, Hotel had Maps and Event schedules for Graduation Ready at check in, Breakfast was a REAL breakfast, Not just some Donuts and Coffee.

I read reviews on all the hotels before booking this one. Took the few bad reviews with a grain of salt and glad I did! Breakfast on AF BMT day's was served early and it was very good! I don't normally like scrambled eggs but theirs were very good! Sausage links were awesome! They have fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, waffles, orange juice, apple juice, buiscuts, gravy and yogurt. Very clean and worth the price. It was all you can eat and almost as good as IHOP! Staff was very friendly and helpful! Housekeeping was excellent! Location was good and excellent compared to the others! This location is off the interstate but not in a “district” where there is a lot of traffic or rift raft! I was impressed with the snack mine by the front desk and not in the rooms! The bathrooms were clean! Impressed that the shower curtains had snaps for changing out for laundering. I'm OCD about showers and soap scum so I liked the shower curtains! Had a fridge and microwave. Ice machine available. Hot tub & indoor pool. Exercise room! My only complaint would be the towels! They were small and not soft. Probably be good for exfoliating and keeping people from stealing them! I don't blame the hotel for that! The “Best Western PLUS” is a place I would definitely book again!

I would recommend this hotel, staff was amazing. The staff at this hotel is a well oiled machine, friendly and above board. The location is terrific for attending any event or graduation held at the base. Front desk, breakfast staff, housekeeping staff just awesome.

A decent hotel, very helpful and accommodating for those staying to attend BMT graduation which was greatly appreciated. Overall a clean hotel but the beds and pillows and linens really need improvement. Not the most comfortable nights sleep for certain.

So close to the base it took the stress out of driving the San Antonio freeways a no need option The staff was friendly, kept to their duties and knowledgeable for the areas we visited. Rooms were cleaned well over our 5 day stay. The property is in a quiet location..

Hotel was very clean.. breakfast was great and even better than we had expected. The only issue we had was If you don't have a car, there is nothing within walking distance.. Other than that, it was fairly close to everything we wanted to do..

We were there Oct 16-19th for my son's graduation from Aif Force Basic Training. They really cater to AF families. Gave us Maps of the base and directions when we checked in. Excellent breakfast buffet (eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy etc) they serve early on Thursday and Friday for families going to the early graduation events on thise days. Room and bathroom was clean and modern. Staff were all friendly and accomodating. Quick response when we called the desk for things we needed. Not a lot of restaurants within walkg distance but everything a short drive nearby. Only 5 minute drive to the base gate.

While closest to Lackland AFB FOR GRADUATION, the room was dirty and dusty and the bathroom not equiped. There was an inch thick of dust on refrigerator, old sponges and no cleanser. And the price was not what was quoted on aarp expedia site.

Stayed a week to attend my daughter's BMT graduation at Lackland. It was located right around the corner from the main and valley gates. It was contemporary decor and very clean. The highway entrance is a little different from what I'm used to, but that's all over Texas. The breakfast was good, standard hotel fair with waffles and eggs, etc. Staff was friendly.

We arrived at the hotel at 2:00 am after a long day of travel and were greeted kindly and checked in quickly. The hotel is very nice and clean, staff was excellent and it is a very close distance from the AFB gate. We were able to have our granddaughter and her friends visit ,swim, hot tub and enjoy a little time with us off base. All the amenities were great too, bar, breakfast, laundry, pool. I would highly recommend.

We stayed here for our sons BMT graduation. Perfect location. We were given a handout at check in with base events/advice/directions which was very helpful.Breakfast was plentiful each morning - they open earlier on Thurs and Fri. morning due to base events. Had the pool/hot tub pretty much to ourselves. Hot tub "bubbles" were not working - but still felt good to soak after a long day. I would stay here again if we make another trip to Lackland !

We stayed her during our sons bmt graduation and we chose this hotel from reading all the other reviews. We made the right choice. Its proximity to the base and dining and shopping is exactly what we were looking for. Not to mention this hotel does stand alone and I felt very safe every time I went out at night to smoke or get things from the car. The staff is welcoming and very helpful and knowledgable to help those going to the base for graduation...clean rooms, comfortable beds and awesome breakfast served daily. Will stay here again without hesitation.

My daughter and I visited Sept 25 thru the 29th to attend BMT graduation and the hotel was awesome! Patty at the front desk was wonderful ! She had maps, advice, and the rules the BMT grads have to follow. The room was spotless, hot showers, cold air conditioning, awesome cleaning crew ! Breakfast was hot and delicious! Great location outside the crazy traffic and super close to the base! If you go to a BMT graduation, stay here!! Jim

We stayed here for our son's graduation from the air force BMT. They were so accommodating. Breakfast is served at 5 a.m. and the staff was very knowledgeable about the graduation and helpful with directions to the base.

The hotel was ok. Arrived late in the evening and got our room quickly. First impression when entering room is that it is a bit worn. Also the room was quite humid, but that clear quickly after turning on the a/c. A/c is old and very noisy. Also the in room fridge was so noisy that we had to unplug it to be able to sleep. Beds were good and the housekeeping was fine. The hotel was a bit away from everything, so it's not for the view you stay there. But fairly close to the city and close to seaworld. Fair quality for fair price.

Made a reservation on short notice. The new Best Westerns that I have stayed at have a very nice stand alone shower, which was described online. We always ask for a room with this, it's more important to us than type of room! This was a very new hotel and much nicer than most. Check In was quick but again we were not given this type of shower even though requested and noted on reservation. Front desk clerk was nice enough to obtain another room that did have a version of the stand alone and turned out to be very nice as was our room. We had a first floor room that was at the opposite end of the elevator that was very quiet. We will stay here again.

I booked a room 6wks ago for my sons BMT graduation. I traveled all the way from California and when I arrived I was told my room was not ready. They said I could store my belongings for a few hours and come back cause they had a maintenance issue and the maid needed to come and clean up. I said no I just traveled 5 hrs and we are tired. She reassured me that the room was ready but just needs to be cleaned. She offered me another room at the same rate but It was only available that night because it was reserved the rest of the weekend. We agreed that I would transfer to my room at 5am the following morning. So I go to the desk and I'm told my room is still not ready and I will need to store my belongings till I return that evening. I said NO THANKS!! I made this reservation 6wks ago and traveled 5hrs and nobody called to let me know I don't have a room! So I paid for my one night and found another place to stay. They still charged my credit card $698.00! Instead of the $135.00 that my receipt says. Im now trying to get those charges reversed!!! DON'T STAY HERE! Go elsewhere. I will be filling a complaint with the BBB.

Our family (3 rooms) stayed here while attending my nephews Air Force graduation and everything was great! Nice, clean, comfortable rooms. Extremely convenient and close to Lackland Air Force Base. All the desk clerks were nice... especially second shift on Saturday and Sunday (sorry i forgot her name). Breakfast was great... Texas shaped waffles with all the toppings, eggs, sausage,bacon, biscuits and gravy and so much more!

Our family were attending our son's Air Force graduation. The breakfast was the best. One day there was two different kinds of sausage to choose from. The next day would be extra crispy bacon. Along with those meats, everyday was scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, pastries, bagels, waffles, yogurts, cereal, oatmeal, juice, coffee, water, hot chocolate, milk, cream cheese, jellies, nutella, syrup, butter.

One of the BEST hotels we've stayed in on our travels. Helpful staff, spacious, clean, comfortable and a place to relax after a long day at BMT graduation. Easy access to and from Lackland AFB. We would highly recommend this hotel especially for those attending BMT graduation. Thank you for helping to make our trip more memorable.

We stayed here for our son's Air Force BMT Graduation. It was easy to access the base and the staff was extremely helpful and even provided a map to assist in getting around the area and getting to and from the graduation site. The rooms were spacious enough. Some of the room needed updates due to past wear, however it was kept up pretty well. The lobby was inviting and the pool area was nice.

The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and provide us with information to make our day trips the best. A double queen room is very spacious and provided our family plenty of room to spread out and relax.

The good. Clean hotel, up to date, close to the 24 hour gate, like 5 minutes away. The hostess/ bartender awsome! She's accommodating, nice and if your loved one is graduating, has all the info you need to be where you need to be. They start breakfast early to accommodate the people going to the base for BTS graduation. Comfortable beds. Overall stay here! The bad. Walk in shower, no tub. Jacuzzi was hot but no jets, that where broke. So hot soke was nice because you don't have a bath. There's a huge branch blocking the side parking lot that should've been trimmed months ago. Ice machine on the first floor doesn't work but the hostess is more then happy to fill your bucket at ther bar. That's all i got. It's an overall good stay. If you're coming to see a graduation and want to be close to the base, restaurants and eveything you're gonna wanta do in your weekend, this is the stay

We stayed here to go to our sons BMT at Lackland Air Force base. It was very close to the base, the staff was very friendly and helpful with directions to the base and attractions nearby. They have a great hot breakfast to prepare you for the day at the base. Even opening it early on Thursday/Friday to make sure we had a good meal that morning. The rooms were clean and were a nice place to come back to in the evenings to relax and rest. We liked it because it is not in the hustle and bustle of the downtown area, it is kinda off to itself. Great experience and place to stay for any families going to BMT graduation, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This place was perfect! Staff was great, rooms were great, breakfast was great!!!!So close to the base(easy to get to) and everything else!!! My only wish would be that the pool was outside not inside. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to the Air Force graduation.

I found a new place to stay when Im in San Antoinio. Great indoor pool and super clean room. A great place to go relax it has a little lounge (bar) when it is open ( it only open for a few hours ) Love the location not so far from SeaWorld ( 10 minutes ) and not so far from downtown The Alamo ( 10 minutes)

We stayed here when our son graduated from BMT at Lackland AFB. The pros: LOCATION and complimentary hot breakfast. The cons: hot tub jets were broken, poor shower design and fixed shower head, so water sprayed from the partially enclosed walk-in shower all over the bathroom floor, and pull-out bed's mattress was so worn that the springs were exposed. Overall, the hotel could use some serious updating (the pictures are deceiving), but you just cannot beat the location (less than 2 miles from Lackland AFB).

This is a great location if you are visiting Lackland AFB, otherwise, it isn't close to anything and is a bit difficult to locate. The room was a nice size and comfortable. The housekeeping could improve, as an example, the coffee maker was not attended to the old grounds were not removed and fresh coffee was not left; the mirror got splashed with some water in the morning and when I got back that evening the only difference was that the water spots were now dried. The shower is a very poor design with half the shower stalll being closed in with a piece of glass and the other half is open. That results in a very wet bathroom floor. Breakfast is what you would expect, but there is no one to clean the tables or change out the serving utensils when they become dirty. The front desk staff is wonderful. They are very helpful and friendly. They deserve a special pat on the back.

This hotel is clean and updated. The sofas in the lobby and the tables in the breakfast area make it ideal for out of town guests. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and kind. Special shout out to Rey and Patty!

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Lackland AFB and its excellent reviews. A group of us came into town to see our nephew/grandson/cousin graduate from the Air Force boot camp. This hotel is less than 2 miles from the base. The front desk provides directions to the base and accommodates families by opening breakfast at 5:30 so that we were able to leave on time. The room was clean and adequate for our needs. The staff are friendly and willing and able to answer questions about the boot camp graduation. This hotel stands alone near a housing subdivision and looks fairly new.

Everything was great but our tub leaked a small river of water out of the bathroom into the entry way. We showered before bed and did not see the water until I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and then I slipped and fell on the tile. We were only staying one more night so we just kept a towel on the floor after showering and reported it at check out. I was disappointed that a discount was not offered for my fall and the safety issue the leak caused.

Very good value for the price, clean and comfortable rooms. The location is perfect for our purpose of visiting this area, and we found the location to be in a 'safer' area )we had suffered vandalism at another motel nearer to the city.

This Best Western is great! The staff is excellent and really cares about their customers. If you are looking for somewhere to stay for AF BMT graduation look no further. When you check in they give you a map on how to get to the base from the hotel and how to get back. Easy, simple directions. They have an indoor pool and good, continental breakfast. I paid $116 a night and that was for a king bed with sofa (which converts into a bed). Base is maybe a little over 2 miles from the hotel. Leave early Thursday and Friday as the line to get on base can get long.

This is hotel is always my go to when i am in San Antonio. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Would recommend to anyone. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is great. I like the calming lobby. Only thing i could say bad about this hotel is location. Overall this hotel is great. I have a hard time sleeping in hotel rooms but here im able to sleep as if im at home!!!

I booked this hotel as a great location to stay to attend my grandson's graduation from BMT at Lackland Air Force Base. If you need a disability access room, BEWARE. I called directly and was assured I had an access room. When I arrived I was told no, I didn't. I was put into a regular room with a regular (badly configured) shower with only one grab bar that was in the very front beside the water control. There was no shower curtain, just a wall of glass on the front half of the shower. I was finally brought a portable shower stool. Every time I took a shower, literally half the bathroom floor flooded. Their solution was to bring me two extra bath mats. Getting into and out of the shower was difficult with no grab bars within my reach. I use a mobility scooter rather than a wheelchair and had no problem getting my scooter in and out of the room. I'm not sure that someone with a regular wheelchair could maneuver in a regular room. A zero-turn electric wheelchair shouldn't be a problem. The bed was way too soft for my arthritic back, so I slept sitting up in their somewhat comfy side chair with ottoman. For a hotel breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised with theirs. And on the days when graduation events started early, they served breakfast really early. They also provided great information on graduation events and getting to/from the base. Housekeeping was spotty. We had to ask for soap. We asked for the bed to be made, but it wasn't. And if we didn't ask for it to be made, it was. Other than my problems at check-in, front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. If hadn't needed a disability access room, I would have given this facility a better rating.

From the front desk to the housekeepers, this location is amazing. We came in for our son's BMT graduation and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We were minutes from base with easy access. The rooms(had 2) are spacious. We had a suite with a full kitchen. The staff was very accommodating too. Amado(manager) brought out a grill for us to use. FD clerk opened the bar a few minutes early so we could have a glass of wine. Our housekeeper kept everything tidy and clean. Perfect place!

We loved this hotel and stayed there for our son's BMT Graduation last week. The hotel is updated, clean, and the staff was friendly! The breakfast was decent and we appreciated the 24 hr tea and hot choc bar! The only reason we didn't give a 5 star review was because one of our phones didn't work and there were no sheets, blankets, or pillows for the sofabed. Also, it was disappointing to get ready and go down to the hot tub, only to find it wasn't working! We would recommend this hotel, and esp if you are going to BMT! I hope this helps you out!

I'm big on cleanliness when it comes to hotels. bathrooms was disappointing with hair and other remains. looks like the hotel has a lot of turn over and inadequate staff. Asked to have the bathroom issue addressed and still incomplete. outlets were loose to charge phones if working at all. Breakfast was decent and service responsive.

This is the perfect place to stay if you are attending your airman's graduation ceremony. The staff was very courteous, professional, and helpful. Convenient location. No complaints about breakfast or internet.

I stayed a couple of days for my daughter's graduation. Hotel was super nice and clean, comfortable bed and friendly staff. The location was perfect as the base is only about 1.5 miles away and you don't even have to get on the interstate to get there. A map is given to you at check in that lets you know how to get to the base and back along with restaurants, Walgreen's and HEB. I couldn't have picked a better place to stay.

We stayed 1 night, our son was graduating on the Airforce Base which is located 1.5 miles away from the base, great location, staff served a full hot breakfast before 5am to accommodate the Airforce Base families needing to leave their hotel to attend orientation on base. Overall, this is a great place to stay, the price is $30.00 higher then other hotels around.

The hotel was easy on and off main highways able to see from the highway. Location was perfect 15mit to downtown San Antonio 19 mit from seaworld that's where we were going. The staff at front desk were very hospitable.

We booked rooms here at the suggestion of other family members, not having any previous experience with the brand. This hotel has customer service down. Every service they provided was top notch, and they went out of their way to anticipate and provide everything we needed to make our stay pleasant and stress free. We were in San Antonio for an Air Force graduation and stayed for a week. Our rooms were clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. They provided maps and driving instructions to and from the base, which are different and can be confusing because of current construction and how roads are designed here. They provide a reception for the graduates, friends and families staying there on the day of graduation. Their staff are courteous and helpful-referrals to restaurants and other businesses are top notch. The only thing we would suggest as a potential change is the hot breakfast menu. For those who stay here for more than a couple of days, it would be nice to have some variety. But that is not an issue big enough to reduce the excellent rating we give them-we would absolutely stay here again!

I stay when I can in town to visit family and friends.. An have fun with the pool and hot tub help with my body. An my niece's an nephew enjoys swimming with my Daughter an girlfriend. An the service is great..

We were here for grandson's graduation,makes is very easy to get to and from the base. very clean, comfortable bed, nice quiet lounge and a good breakfast. Very friendly staff, we even brought a treat back from Saltgrass Steak house for the desk clerk. We will stay here again when in the area.

we stayed at this hotel for my son's graduation from Lackland. This hotel was so convenient & close to base. They had a nice reception for the graduates on Friday afternoon. They also gave us maps & event info for the graduation & opened breakfast an hour early for the parents. They went above & beyond & I would highly recommend them. Also the quietest hotel I ever stayed at- I never heard footsteps, doors, etc & we were the room closest to the stairs & elevator!

The Best Western Lackland is a very nice, clean and well managed facility catering to visitors and family of military personnel at Lackland AFB. They go way out of their way to accommodate their guest.

Nice place to stay close to Lackland for the graduation. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean. Bring your earplugs though. Between the insterstate noise ,loud closing doors and the people above and next to you we didn't sleep well at all!

Great Water pressure in the shower, but because they have a 1/2 glass wall and such a huge shower head, water gets all over the toilet and all over the floor, which has caused mold and cracked tiles and this is a fairly new hotel. Otherwise Breakfast was good and the décor was nice.

My family and stayed 3 nights at the BW and we had a pleasant stay. We chose this hotel because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor and it's indoor swimming pool. We were not disappointed at all. The staff was very friendly & attentive. Housekeeping did a great job every day. We only used the pool the first night for about 2 hours and we had lots of fun. The chlorine level was real good and the area was pretty clean. They had plenty of towels and chairs available. The hot tub was very nice as well. They even have a crane for the handicapped by the pool. The temperature of the water was great even with the outside temperatures being in high 30's. They have a small gym right next to the pool and it looked well maintained (did not use the gym). Breakfast was good (eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, biscuits & gravy & fruit). The front desk had daily newspapers for free. The parking lot was well lighted at night and there was always plenty of parking. Very easy acces to freeways, pharmacy, fast food & gas stations. There is NO OTHER business next to the hotel so it helps out with safety and traffic. My only 2 complaints were the television in our room. It had a small line at the top of the screen that would appear after having the tv on for more than 30 mins. The second complaint was the mini refrigerator would make a clicking sound at night that kept us up for a bit. I finally unplugged it the last night. I brought up both concerns to the front desk at check out and she said the refrigerators make that noise regularly. Those 2 complaints would NOT keep me from coming back to this BW.

I highly recommend this property! As frequent travelers, it was so refreshing to have everything so professionally handled with a personal touch! Their knowledge of the area, and the Air Force new recruit graduation, was so helpful!! They answered every question, have maps, made calls, etc. Above and beyond, is why this was hands-down the best hotel stay/experience we've ever had! Wish all hotels delivered this exceptional service with a caring touch!! We will definitely be using this property again, when our niece graduates from Air Force training!

I would highly recommend!! Stayed when son was graduating from BMT at Lackland Air Force Base. It was right down the road from the hotel, very easy to get to base and back! The rooms were very clean and pleasant and the staff was great! Even had a small reception after graduation to honor the new Airmen. Great Place!!

We stayed at this location for our nephews Air Force bootcamp graduation. The location was easy to get to and close to the base. The room was very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was filling and had many choices. There was even an afternoon reception for the graduates. It was very nice.

Fabulous - the staff was great (especially understanding of my anxiety, because 35 years ago while visitng my brother in Killeen Texas - Ft. Hood at the age of 15 I was traumatized at the sight and size of the cockroaches, and swore I'd never go back. Never say Never, because my son is graduating from USAF BMT, and I find myself anxious about the trip. BEST WESTERN PLUS LACKLAND has put those nightmares to rest once and for all for this Chicago Mom. We stayed Oct 31 - Nov 4 2018 for BMT Graduation. My 21 year old daughter said Best Western Plus Top 3 of all hotels we've stayed at and I AGREE! CLEAN... oh my goodness so Clean, fresh, pleasant and not a bug in sight, and let me tell you I WAS LOOKING EVERYWHERE, I even looked in the washing machines. Clean as a whistle. The hotel is literally 3 turns away from Lackland. Maybe a mile total. The hotel even has a bar if you need a beer to calm your nerves. Substantial variety of hot/cold breakfast items every day. I honestly don't believe you'll find better, closer or cleaner than this hotel and their fabulous staff! If that's not enough there is fast food (McDonalds, Little Casesar's, Subway and a Walgreens all on the way to Lackland). Thank you to every one at Best Western Plus - hope you shared the deep dish. I love this Best Western! It is easy to get to and centrally located so it's easy to navigate around the metro area. The rooms are big and clean! The bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast offered a variety of both hot and cold items to choose from.

Could not have been happier with the choice. Very Friendly Staff - From check in to Breakfast to Housekeeping. Hotel was kept clean Breakfast was very good. Front desk staff was helpful with dinning choices. Just an all around good stay. Used the pool and hot tub too- Only thing - maybe time for new beds.

Lack of Professionalism when reporting issues to some of the front desk. The manager was pleasant is the nicest thing I can say. Took my son to the indoor pool only to have to leave in a rush once we saw a snake in the pool area. Be prepared to be chased by wasps and other types of bees during the day as well while walking to and from your car inside. They are everywhere on the property and you can see the hives everywhere. Musty smell in the hallways. Not worth the money that they ask per night.

We chose this hotel to stay at for 4 nights based on the reviews. Thank you to all who did this because it was a perfect location to get us to and from the Lackland afb. People are correct that it is not near restaurants but most of the time you are either eating on base because your military family member has to stay there or you are taking them downtown to the Riverwalk and eating at restaurants there. Staff does have info on graduation so just ask them for it. Traffic in San Antonio is scary and crazy all day and all night - made New Jersey seem calm but never heard traffic in rooms. They have a bar if you need a night cap and they serve basic breakfast (nothing special but enough to energize you for your busy graduation days and early enough to get you there on time). The rooms were modern and clean and served their purpose at a reasonable price. Highly recommend for those coming for graduation. TIP: Road Construction is going on nearby currently so keep that in mind but doesn't interfere in the direction of going to AFB, only coming back.

We stayed for here for my son's Airforce BMT graduation for 5 nights. I would recommend this hotel because it was a great location to the base. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. On Thursday mornings they start breakfast @5:30am for families to get on the base early. This hotel is 6 minutes from the Valley high gate, which was very convenient for us. It's also a 6min drive to a grocery store(HEB), Walgreens and fast food if needed on Valley drive but, you must drive ,the walk is to far. It is also about 20 min to downtown for the Riverwalk, and 20min from the airport. So would highly recommend it.

The hotel is relatively close to Lackland AFB which is where Airmen Basic training and graduation takes place. It was wonderful that they provided an agenda and timings of what would happen during all graduation activities. In terms of the hotel itself, the room with our double queens was pretty spacious. We had everything we might need: coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, iron, soap, shampoos, etc. we stayed on the 2nd floor facing the rear of the hotel and heard no hall or outer room noise. The room was spotless when we checked in and cleaned appropriately in between days of our stay. Sure enjoyed having the bar near the lobby to have anend of day glass of wine. Breakfast was great. Ample selections and freshly made. Thanks to the lovely lady who keeps food stocked and the area clean in spite of people who appear to like slinging food all over the floor :). Would definitely stay there again.

This is our last night at Basic Training graduation and we have been staying at the Best Western Plus Lackland. We have been here since Wednesday night and have been VERY happy with our experience. When we arrived they gave us a bunch of important grad information right off the bat. The staff was super friendly and helpful! The rooms were comfortable and nice!

Very clean hotel with friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. They even put out a few breakfast items early so those attending graduation could eat. The hot tub jets seemed to have issues but that is extremely minor and nit picky. We would stay here again.

This is my second time staying here while visiting for Airforce BMT graduation. I love the location as far as how close and the ease of the drive to the base. It's not in the best area of town and this there are not many quality restaurants nearby. But, it is near the interstate and it is a quick drive down to other areas of town with more choices to eat. The hotel itself provides a wonderful breakfast buffet of hot foods and other typical breakfast items. The staff is really friendly and the rooms and lobby are nice. They get a lot of business from BMT graduation weekends do they provide nice maps and a reception for those patrons.

Hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. Great location for Lackland AFB.I will be going back soon, and will be staying at the same place.The indoor pool was very nice, too. I was there for four days and enjoyed every day of it.

We stayed during my sons graduation from BMT. On arrival they had all the information we needed for the graduation. I wouldn't stay anyplace else for this occasion. Breakfast was great in the morning. They start serving at 5 for the families that need to be on base by 7. You are only a few miles away but on Thursday we were in line to get on base for half hour. So leave when they recommend you to leave the hotel. Friday the hotel had a reception for the families and airman in the hotel lobby with pizza, sandwiches, cupcakes and watermelon. It was nice for the kids to relax in the room and have some food before doing any tourist stuff. After learning that Lackland graduates 800 kids a week you know the area is busy and the hotel basically cater to the Lackland AFB, graduates and families. My only complaint would be the hallway to the room had a musty smell and the refrigerator in our room sounded like a ticking time bomb but I actually slept really good the 4 nights we were there. Our room was comfortable and the AC worked great. They did have a note on the elevator to only use when necessary. It didn't bother us cause we would of used the stairs anyway. Not sure if it needed maintenance or was just slow? I would still think this would be the best choice for BMT weekend. It's all about location and service and they were able to offer both for our visit.

I had a great stay. My only complaint would be the employee smoking 5 feet from the door to where I had to walk through cigarette smoke with my asthmatic child to enter the building. The breakfast had a pretty good variety, the bed was super comfortable. It's pretty close to SeaWorld. The construction makes things more difficult but still has easy access.

This property is very close to Lackland AFB. Staff were pleasant and provided a packet of info for BMT graduation. They also offered snacks to graduating airmen and their families on Friday afternoon. Nice touch. The property appears newer. Complimentary breakfast is good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, cereal, pastries etc. The lobby has a small bar that opens early evenings. Rooms are well appointed. Frig, microwave, coffee maker. Bed is a touch on the hard side but comfortable. Property seemed quiet despite being full. The negatives are not really anything the hotel can control- construction is horrible nearby. No restaurants within walking distance. Most are at least a 10 minute drive. Fast food is closer but still not within walking distance. Delivery IS available. Overall, we enjoyed staying here and would do so again.

We stayed here for my son's Air Force graduation. The staff was very accomadating for military families. Room was very clean. Breakfast was hot. On graduation day they even open breakfast an hour early so we could get to the base on time. Speaking of which, it is only 5 minutes from the base.

Make use of the information the hotel gives you for Lackland graduation. It is accurate although you don't have to go so early if you're not particular about seating. There is was plenty of seating for handicapped.

Our main door wouldn't lock. We told the front desk person within an hour of checking in. An employee came up, but couldn't fix it. He said head of maintenance would fix it the next day early. We were leaving the room at 6 am, so he told us the main maintenance man would meet us at 5 am, but he didn't show. When we got back to the hotel at the end of the day, our door still wouldn't lock. When we went down to ask about it, we were told the manager said it would lock if we slammed it. So we had to slam our door every time we left to lock it. Sometimes it wouldn't lock on the first slam, so we had to slam it two or three times to get it to lock. I hated slamming the door because of the other guests, but we needed to lock our belongings up in the room when no one was in there. It was crazy! We felt lucky nothing disappeared from our room during our stay. The front door should lock without having to slam it and disrupt everyone else on the floor

This hotel is a fabulous place! They go out of the way for the families of the newly graduating Airmen. They even had a graduation celebration for those staying at hotel's best experience ever! The rooms and food were excellent, hotel employees went out of their way to help.

The customer service was very good and friendly. The breakfast was pretty standard, but the waffles are always a hit with me. Our room was very comfortable and the air conditioning was a boon after a day of traversing the hot June weather. About the only hitch to this joint, was that you would have to drive about 5 minutes before getting to somewhere to eat(or like to hoof it in the hot weather)

upon arrival we were very hot from Sea world. Thankfully the room was nice & cool. The bed is very comfortable. The shower was nice but bring your own shampoo & soap. The shampoo is very small & did not wash my hair good. The breakfast was average but free. My only complaint is the carpet could use a good cleaning in room. My baby grandaughter's feet were black from the rug. I would stay again.

Weekend stay to attend graduation at Lackland Air Force Base, about a 10 minute drive from base. Clean, spacious modern room accommodated 3 adults, with mini fridge & microwave. Friendly staff, convenient breakfast in the morning.

My stay here was back in 2010 for close to 4 months at this hotel. I was in USAF Combat Arms Instructor School and Lackland lodgings was not available (Full) for my stay, and received a letter authorizing me off base lodging. The lady at the counter showed me a list of authorized hotels to stay in and she recommend the Best Western at this location, as it was fairly newly built. Drove over to the hotel and the lobby was extremely nice, the staff was nice and booked my stay for around 4 months. Rooms were above the average, I loved staying here. Staff and managers were very, very, very understanding as my GTC couldn't hold the hotel charges until I could file for interim travel voucher to pay off the previous charges. The hotel staff knew this and was extremely helpful in waiting for my GTC to process the deposit from the partial travel voucher. Breakfast was really good, and ate it every day M-F, my weekends were sleep in days, so I missed breakfast. Happy Hour was free beer and wine, which chips, and was a great hold over until we decided a place to go eat dinner. Just off the service road from the Truemper rd. Gate and made it going to class easy especially when basic training graduated every week. ALSO I took the Hwy 90 service road to the Luke gate where the visitor center is or the hospital gate, as my school was behind the hospital on base. Both methods of entering on base even when basic graduated was easy. The school house instructors even warned us on several occasions about the traffic during those days. I didn't have any issues nor did about 5 other class mates about security of our vehicles. We even brought one of our class mates from a hotel down the street to This hotel after his vehicles was broken into twice and his military gear was stolen, SAPD recover the items as they caught the guy walking down the street carrying the gear. If I didn't have Hilton Honor points thru Amex I would be staying at this hotel while in San Antonio.

Because me and my friends from Taiwan was on a budget. So we went to this hotel. The con is that you may need your own car if you're living here. Because it's kind of next to the highway. Good thing is we only stayed for a couple days. So we didn't go hard on gas.

Best hotel off base!! Very clean and the staff is amazing!! They are very helpful for families going to graduation. They are very accommodating with breakfast before you have to leave ( food is ready before 6am) very wide selection of foods!

This hotel is literally minutes from the AFB. It makes it very easy to go to graduation events at the base. It also makes it easy to pick up and return your Airmen to the base at the designated times. The staff is very helpful about the graduation schedule and recommending when to depart for scheduled events. I highly staying at this hotel.

I read the reviews about this hotel. The reviews were the reason I picked the hotel. When we arrived, the young lady at the desk had a packet of BMT graduation info that was very helpful. The Airmen's Run occurs at 8:00 am, and you want to arrive early. Obviously the hotel knows this, and they adjust the hours that breakfast starts in the morning. I recommend this hotel to families with graduating airmen.

We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was at this Hotel. You start your day with the most amazing breakfast! Coffee ready 24-7,beautiful pool and large hot tub,large clean comfortable rooms and the staff from Manager to maintenance could not have been nicer. Do yourself a favor and stay here, after full days at the base you will be so grateful to be back in your room! I almost forgot to mention snacks and things you may have forgotten available in the lobby, you can even relax at the bar for a cocktail when you return after a long day! Love it a real gem!

We picked this hotel because of the reviews and also the proximity to Lackland AFB for our son's BMT graduation. It was only a couple of miles from the gate and made the morning rush much easier. The staff was very helpful and informative, even had maps and a schedule of the weekend BMT activities along with a map of the base and directions to and from the Valley Hi gate. The only thing I would say they could do better is to move items off of the bed if left there so they can make it up while you're gone. My daughter in law left a portable baby bed, 12x24 inch foldable for traveling, on the bed and they left a note that they couldn't make the bed with personal items left on it? It was a quick move to the floor or chair to make the bed. That's a small thing though and didn't stop me from giving them a 5 rating. Overall, clean, good customer service, convenient with easy access to the base. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

This is the place to stay! Beautiful! Comfortable! Great staff...good food and close to shopping centers and malls.I would definitely consider staying here whenever you're in San Antonio. You get your money's worth. This Hotel is clean and the amenities are wonderful!

We stayed here for my son's graduation from BMT. Great accommodations and so close to the base. Would highly recommend this and not another hotel that might be cheaper farther away. It was worth the extra money to have the ability to get on and off base easily and quickly without all the drive. San Antonio is very difficult to navigate driving and this allowed us to drive through town and not get on the 410 to get to base. Great breakfast and clean rooms. Comfortable beds as well. They allowed for late check out on Sunday so we could stay with our Airman longer.

We stay at Best Western because they treat you liken family. We have stayed here before and we are looking forward to our next stay there next June 2019. We call Best Western Plus Lackland Hotel & Suites our home away from home.

We were here for our son's BMT graduation. The hotel was really close to the base so no prblems getting there. The hotel had a complimentary hot breakfast each morning that was really good. The hotel was clean and had a pool which we didn't use. The rooms were a good size, beds were good fridge was really cold. We had a microwave and little coffee maker. There was a day they cleaned our room but didn't leave any clean towels but other than that all good and would stay again.

My wife and I came to San Antonio for our daughter's air force graduation and decided to have a vacation as well. We choose this hotel because of the location and the full kitchen that is available in a few of the rooms. We are staying in room 220. The room is a seriously great bargain. King size bed, living room area, nice sized full kitchen and a ok sized bathroom. The rooms cleanliness was just fine. This is not a 5 star hotel but it is a very nice maintained, and adequately clean hotel with very friendly staff. The wife and I are super happy we gave Best Western Plus a try.

Really the only thing this hotel has as a positive is that it is close to Lackland. We spent five nights there for BMT Graduation. We should have switched hotels on the first day when we noticed the mildewy smell in the hotel. After that we were just too busy. The carpet in our room was filthy. I realized why when on the third day we returned and the room had still not been vacuumed. They would give us new towels and make our bed and that was it. The maid didn't clean anything or replace any paper products. We ran out of Kleenex on the third day and never got a new box. On Sunday (our last day) they didn't even replace our towels. We had dirty towels for our shower then next morning. Sunday night a huge cockroach crawled across the floor. I would have just left but it was late and we had a very early flight the next morning. I will never stay here again. This hotel isn't that old, it just hasn't been cleaned since it opened. Families staying for BMT - don't do it! It is truly one of the most disgusting hotels I have ever stayed in.

We stayed for two nights. In the first morning we found a big cockroach around our bed and asked the concierge to do the pest control. After we back in the late night, the cockroaches were still there! The lady(Teresa?) at the front desk apparently did not have any motivation to deal with this problem. No apology, no vacant room, no intention to do any thing until we asked her to call someone to find out the cockroach. Very poor service and filthy room! Cannot rest well after a long drive!

We were in San Antonio for BMT graduation. If you are going to the Lackland Air Force Base--it is a perfect location. The gal who greeted us was extremely helpful...not only with our reservation but also with giving us info about graduation. We were there for 6 nights and felt VERY comfortable with all the accommodations. Would go back again!

My stay there was memorable, soon as we walked in they were very accommodating they gave us a map of how to get to the base and the events that would happen for the ceremony, the room was clean and we were very happy with our stay

Great location! Great Service. Great Breakfast. Very Cozy, has hot tub and heated pool. The pool was actually warm! Friendly staff, cozy room, nice walk in shower! Great choice if you are on the west side of San Antonio.

We like to stay at BW Plus and we saw that his was so close to Lackland, we decided to stay our four nights at this location. The hotel is very clean and our room was spacious. The breakfast is very plentiful and on Thursday and Friday it is ready by 5:30 so you can get to the base for that 7 a.m. briefing. My only complaint would be the air/heating system. It has one speed which is high. So when the unit is on the air is very forceful and the curtains are blowing straight out almost even with the bed. If the air is off is gets stuffy real quick, but if the air conditioning is on you better be under the blankets because it is very cold and the air is like a strong wind. As modern as the hotel is, I would have thought that they would have an updated heating and cooling systems.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus for 4 days during the weekend that our Airman graduated BMT. We could not have been happier with the location and proximity to Lackland AFB; it's just perfect and easy to get there. The staff was so helpful to get us maps and a schedule for the events and they provided breakfast at 5;30 on the days that we had to be on base by 6:00 am. It was quiet and clean.

We came to see family and wanted a better/less expensive place to stay near San Antonio. This was perfect. The staff and service was great. We paid about +/- $20 one way to use Uber to Pearl Plaza. And if you have ever driven in San Antonio traffic it is well worth it! Now just a personal thing.. we all know about tipping our housekeeping staff...it is also okay to tip the staff that comes in way early to make your free breakfast. ??????

Overall the hotel is nice the food is good and close to Lackland AFB which is why we chose this hotel. There was a fire during our stay I don't believe the staff was trained how to handle staff and guest during in an emergency which made it very scary

Great location to Lackland AF base and the hotel offers special graduation rates, which was greatly appreciated. We stayed here for our grandson's BMT graduation and things could not have been better. The room was spacious and clean - the staff was great - offered maps and tips for getting to the base. It is so close, and they give you an easy "back" way to get to the base. Breakfast was offered early to allow those attending graduation to enjoy as well. Variety of breakfast was very good and we loved the Texas shaped waffles! A perfect weekend!

We stayed here recently to visit with a friend who lives in the area. This was a comfortable, spacious, welcoming hotel. We enjoyed having a king bed suite, laundry room and hot tub. My only complaints: on our last day, I just hopped out of the shower and was wearing a towel when one of housekeeping ladies tried to get into our room. The "do not disturb" sign was on the door! The only thing that kept her from getting in was the low tech door latch!! WTF? Like you couldn't wait an hour for us to leave???! ALSO when we were getting our luggage and belongings loaded into the car, our room keys stopped working! AGAIN, you can't wait a few minutes until we check out and actually leave??? WTF???

This hotel has reasonable rates, excellent features and is just a hop, skip and jump down the road from Lackland AFB. As an added bonus, they keep all the information for BMT graduation and provide maps to the graduation activities. The rooms were clean and generously sized. The complimentary breakfast had a nice variety of breakfast foods. All in all, we were very happy with Best Western Plus Lackland Hotel & Suites.

We stayed here from Jan, 3 to Jan 7 for my grandson's graduation from air force bootcamp. the had a great breakfast every morning. the king size bed was very comfortable. the room was also wheelchair accessible.

Stayed in room 209 for my daughter's BMT graduation. The staff was very helpful and provided all the necessary info and it's 5minutes drive to Lackland AFB. The room is clean and spacious with comfortable beds and ample amount of toiletries provided daily. It was very considerate of them to start breakfast 30mins early on Thursday. My husbnd enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. 24hrs free coffee and tea and there's even a bar. I would've given it a 5star ratings but I had issue with the WIFI. it was very spotty in the room we constantly had to log in to resume connectivity. The location of the hotel feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, but the area feels safe and its close proximity to Lackland AFB is not a bad choice.

Stayed at this hotel for our Grandsons graduation from Boot Camp. Staff was very friendly when we checked in and lots of info for the graduation. We came for my son's Air Force BMT Graduation at Lackland AFB. Wonderful place to stay with clean rooms, great bed, hot showers,, and free breakfast, and best of all, it's so close to Lackland and not far from downtown San Antonio if you're coming from the airport or want to go to "The Riverwalk or the Alamo"(about 15-20 mins away).

I will stay again. The rooms are always clean and the staff is very friendly. I have never had an issue where they are not willing to help. They have gone out o the way to accommodate my needs. The breakfast is always hot and staff are quick to make sure there is plenty for everyone.

This is the absolutely best place to stay if you are attending an air force graduation. They treat you so good and are so very helpful with directions and tips to allow the event to go smooth. Very reasonable rate and would highly recommend.

The stay here was great! Close access to everything! Clean and affordable. I will be staying here again! We stayed on the 3rd Floor and you can hear the heavy stomping of other guests above you. That would be my only complaint. It really is a great place to stay.

If you are looking for a place that has all the things you need, comfortable bed, hot water, generally comfortable room and is clean, safe and staff is helpful and friendly PLUS you have access to a fitness room and free full breakfast, you have found it. It won't win any luxury resort contests but it is everything you need, and nothing you don't. We were there for my son in the Air Force at Lackland AFB and it was convenient to the base as well as restaurants, grocery stores and the freeway system. Couch leather was a little worn and water pressure could have been better but I give it a thumbs up overall.

If you are attending graduation or just visiting a service member at Lackland Air Force Base, it would be hard to beat this hotel. Clean, with a very friendly staff, it's also very close to the base. They have a good breakfast, as well as wifi and other important amenities. Just a short drive to lots of restaurants in all price ranges. I would highly recommend staying here.

Attractive, updated motel. Clean comfortable room with a staff used to dealing with guests attending graduation at Lackland AFB. Gave us maps with graduation schedule and directions for getting to base and locations of graduation events and directions for getting back to hotel as well as locations of gas, groceries, restaurants, etc. Very helpful as the road systems there are very confusing.

We booked 4 nights for our son's BMT Graduation. They did give us a military discount which was most appreciated. The hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and well stocked. They offered breakfast daily which was above average for this type of breakfast. The food was fresh and hot. They kept fresh hot coffee 24 hours daily. There was security that patrolled the parking lot at night. We felt safe and recommend to anyone looking for a hotel close to base.

This hotel is perfect for getting to BMT ceremonies on time without stress. A wonderful breakfast is available and the AFBase is a very short drive away without any of the hair raising interstate driving. Personnel very friendly.

if you are attending the graduation at the air force base this is where you want to be. so convenient. We even met knew families there. The staff is very knowledgeable of the area and were very helpful directing us. they even have maps to guide you. the return from the base is easy as well.

We came down for sons graduation from basic training and it all went real well there's an entrance into the base on that end and it's a great place to stay we really had a good time and highly recommend it.

Our oldest son was graduating from AF-BMT at Lackland. The location of this hotel is perfect in proximity to the base. The hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub for its guests, full service of hot breakfast in the morning and works the schedule for the graduation events. Plenty of restaurants nearby and stores so no need to worry for in-room snacking. Close to Downtown San Antonio to visit also.

Fantastic location. We got in the Valley High gate each morning within a few minutes. The breakfast is standard, room accommodations were very nice and new looking and the staff is very helpful since they have graduating families 50weeks a year! There are lots of fast food places nearby, along with a Walgreens and HEB. They have an indoor pool, small workout center and 2computers.

Hotel staff was friendly. Don't expect anything over-the-top and you'll be happy. Room was a standard, run of the mill room (pictures online are deceiving). Breakfast was decent, my son enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and my daughter-in-law enjoyed the waffles. Close to Lackland AFB.

This hotel "guides you through each step of the 4 day weekend" with MAPS and TIMES for each event on the Air Force Base. Do not worry about directions, they have a great map of the base and locations for each event. BREAKFAST is provided early for each of the days you need to be on base by 6 - 6:30 am. Breakfast starts at 5:30 am for your convenience. You are not in your room a lot, but get a suite if you think you need more space. Our two bed Queen was sufficient for our grown daughter and us. Great Refrigerator in the room even without the suite. Convenient maps for going into San Antonio for touring on Friday and Saturday at the desk. 30 minutes from the Airport, DON"T forget to RENT A CAR. At airport get on CAR RENTAL VAN to CAR rental lots, at National Car RENTAL it was great - get off and and hop in a car and DRIVE.... if you are an Emerald Card Member. Fantastic. Pre-download directions into your phone GPS to hotel and drive. Great Weekend.

General comments. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay at the best Western Hotel Lackland San Antonio Texas. Hotel Staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and made my stay in the San Antonio area very pleasant, enable me to accomplish my business objectives while I was there.

Great place to stay for BMT graduation families. It is very close to Lackland AFB and easy on/off roads near freeway. I would highly recommend this location to family and friends. The staff was very helpful with directions and other information.

Clean room, comfortable bed, unobtrusive decor, a good breakfast timed for the AFB events, and helpful staff made this property an excellent value. The internet service, unfortunately, is slow and spotty--the only fly in the proverbial ointment.

We stayed at BW plus just this last weekend for AFB graduation. The BW staff made us feel at home; always smiling and asking how we were doing. I felt they truly cared and valued us as a guest. Hot breakfast with make your own waffles. Coffee is available 24 hours/day, Breakfast was served early on Thursday and Fridays (5:30 am) 1.8 miles away from base. Clean. I had a king suite, had a microwave, small fridge and a out couch, which was not comfortable. Pool and hot tub looked clean Great place.

We recently visited Lackland AFB for our son's graduation ceremonies. This hotel is very close by, which is a good thing, because the construction and traffic in San Antonio (pop 2+million) is crazy!!! This hotel is kind of hard to get to, since everthing in San Antonio is off of a highway service road where everyone goes 65+mph. There is also no restaurant or shop that you can walk to. The base is about a mile away, and the front desk will give you a very helpful map of how to use the back roads to get back easily. Closer to the base, there are a few fast food restaurants. A couple miles north on 410 there are more sit down restaurants and shops. The front desk staff are helpful and know all the little tips for attending the BMT events. Housekeeping, however, is minimal. In the four nights we stayed, they came after 3:30, and basically just asked if we wanted new towels. We did request to have our garbage emptied, too. The walk in shower was seemingly designed by someone who never intended to use it; the handicap grab bar was at the front of the shower, blocked by the floor-to-ceiling glass window, which also blocked your access to the on/off knob; to turn the shower on, you have to step into it fully, and then get blasted by cold or scalding water. It cannot be reached from outside the shower. There is a full, free breakfast (including waffles and eggs, sausage, bagels, yogurt, etc. They even open early for graduation weekends. The food does not rotate daily, but there is enough variety to sample over a period of days. The hotel is fairly clean, and there is an indoor pool and hot tub. It's not the best hotel we've ever been to, but it serves its purpose, is reasonably priced, and is very convenient if you're going to Lackland.

The staff was so well informed about every aspect of graduation ceremonies. They even provide a short cut route to get there from back of hotel to avoid traffic snarls. Unfortunately the Air Force only gives limited information on the ins and outs of attending events over the 3 days. The staff at the hotel was priceless in helping and even had breakfast ready early (5am) for us to be on the base at 6. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff very professional. Where is the pool and hot tub and even went to the gym everything was clean and neat. Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I can't say enough about this hotel it really is top-notch for the price. If you were attending Lackland Air Force Base graduation this is the hotel to stay at, hands-down

This was a trip to visit our son stationed with the USAF. We found BW to be a great retreat. The staff were all very friendly & personal. Hot breakfast was above average & presented a clean & comfortable setting. Location of the hotel is within a stones throw of Lackland & Medina & yet easy access to all points of interest in & around San Antonio. We will stay with BW every time we visit!

Easy drive to AFB. Staff was very friendly and helpful with regards to the graduation events at the base. Only downfall was there are no restaurants or stores within walking distance. Only one laundry facility onsite and had to wait several hours to do laundry

This hotel could be excellent, with a few staffing improvements and a few minor cleanliness issues, smells in the rooms. They also need to address the issue of having no where to hang towels or wet clothing from the pool.

This hotel was clean, nicely decorated and great location if you are attending BMT Graduation. I would choose it again. Breakfast was convenient as we had to be up and out earlier than most hotels would have their breakfast ready!

King Suite-very roomy, clean, bathroom was nice size & all in one. Couldn't ask for a more comfy bed..Amenities were great. People very friendly. would diffinetly stay there again. The lobby & eating area was very clean & spaceous.

Their TV service is HORRIBLE. Theres no TV guide on their service so you have to go through each channel to see whats on. The picture quality was crap also. I would probably never stay here again. Theres another one about 12 miles away.

Stayed here for BMT graduation at Lackland, AFB. The hotel is very close to the base and is a good value for the money. The staff was very helpful. They have a pool and a business center if you need access to a computer and printer. They also have a laundry facility and provides a decent breakfast.

We had a cockroach in our room and the front desk made light of it and said it is normal. They did nothing. I left a cosmetic/toiletry bag behind with headphones and called right away to request it be sent to me. It had already been stolen by one of the personnel. All this after I left EVERYONE personal and generous tips.

This hotel is awesome if you're going to graduation at Lackland, AFB. Easy to get to and from and has a great breakfast. The Texas shaped waffles were awesome. The staff was extremely helpful. The rooms were clean.

If you are looking for a hotel for your loved one's Basic Training Graduation, look no more. This hotel was priced well, clean, quiet and close to the base. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Loved the map and itinerary of events of the graduation that the staff reviews and gives you. You won't regret staying here!

I had an assignment in the Lackland, San Antonio Area and I decided to try the Best Western PLUS as my place to stay. The hotel itself is comfortable, clean, and offers a nice stay. The staff upon check-in was very polite, friendly and more than willing to help. My room was clean and the bed soft. The hotel has a nice sitting area for reading books or watching television (same area is near the breakfast seating. The biggest drawback is the location of the hotel due to the massive road construction that is happening around the property. If you do not know your way around the construction it can be frustrating coming to and going from the property. Road signage is terrible (street signs small and hard to see, even when looking for them. Even with a Garmin the roads are so bad and traffic so heavy, you should plan extra time to travel to your destination. One construction is completed this should be fixed (which no doubt will be a couple of years). If you are staying here to get quick access to Lackland AFB, it is not a bad choice. Dr. Marc PS 63:7

Love this place because of the rooms and the staff. A really great hotel. The rooms are super large, clean and new. The beds are unbelievable comfortable and the AC is ice cold. I would highly recommend this hotel any day of the week.

Arrived...our room shower had soap scum and grout was dirty so we wore shower shoes. The bathroom door scraped against the floor really bad and there was no closet door. The dresser was dusty as hell. Upon checkout we were 30 minutes late and Becky at the front desk proceeded to tell me that because of it she had to turn other guests away and send them to the base. 1st off thats rude to say that 2nd how can you turn guests away from checking in when check in time is 3..Im also not the only room there so they could've pit them in another room. Becky is just rude and unprofessional

This hotel is a great location for Lackland ABF, Valley Hi gate. Hotel and rooms were clean and maintained. The breakfast area was good with several choices. The staff is well versed in the AFB graduation days and can provide answers to many questions. The breakfast hostess went above and beyond as people were showing up 1/2 to 1 hour after the posted time and she continued to accommodate them.

We stayed 5 days to attend our airman's graduation from basic. Room was clean , plenty of space, beds & pillows comfortable, & quite. Staff was friendly, helpful, and are trained to cater to Lackland visitors. Breakfast was great and timely. I can't say enough about how much we appreciated BW plus. Thank You. (FYI 5 min. From gate to Lackland )

This is a very nice motel. Everything was as expected except when we checked in, I asked if we'd been upgraded in our room, and it seemed to fluster the man. Since it was late, and we were tired, we said forget it.

My extended family and I stayed at the Best Western Plus for my son's Air Force basic training graduation. First: we were five minutes away from the Valley Hi gate on Lackland AFB. Excellent location. Second: the rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. They moved the complimentary breakfast to an hour earlier to accommodated the families there for the graduation ceremonies. It was great to be able to grab some yogurt and fruit before going out in the heat. They also had waffles, cereal, bagels and hot food. They also offer coffee all day and night. It was very convenient. Third: I didn't utilize the pool but my nephews did. They loved it. My family also used the laundry facilities and seemed to have no complaints. We used the business center to print our boarding passes. No complaints. Fourth: the rooms were clean. Maybe a little dated. A little worn out. Nothing bad. I felt they were nice accommodations. I recommend to stay here if you are in town for anything Lackland related. Clean and convenient.

This has become out Hotel of Choice. Best Western has always been the BEST but BW Plus Lackland Hotel & Suites, San Antonio, TX is by far our most favorite. We have stayed at this hotel several nights at two different times and I highly recommend it.

Ive stayed at multiple Best Western hotels. Best Western-Lackland is byfar the BEST hotel. The appearance, food, service and amenities were awesome. Very satifying hotel experience and I fefinitely will be booking here whenever Im in San Antonio.

We stayed at the Bestwestern Lackland to attend our son's AFBT graduation. The hotel was very convenient, the staff was very friendly, hospitable and helpful. The hotel was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was a nice variety. Loved the make your own waffles.

If you need quick safe access to Lackland AFB this is the place to go. The room was very spacious and very clean. The pool and jacuzzi was very nice but it would have been nice if they stocked the pool with towels instead of having to go to the front desk for them. The free breakfast was enough to get you ready for your day. The front desk help was very receptive and helpful. Finally and most important you felt safe in the hotel and they had a security car going around the hotel when I was there which made you feel safe with your car.

This hotel is really elegant looking from the outside and in the lobby. This is a very clean looking property, but it is still a Best Western. The bed was not firm enough and made for an uncomfortable night's sleep, but the room was well appointed. I did see smudges, dust and stains on various parts of the room, but it wasn't to the point that I felt I needed to sanitize more than I already do in any other hotel room. I'm not sure I would choose to stay here again, but this place is good for the cost and very close to SeaWorld. Breakfast: Just add water eggs, paper thin bacon, and the usual waffle bar. It was average, but not bad, so if you want to save money it will suffice.

Very nice check-in person. Good breakfast. Should have directions available to Lackland (desk person told me it was 5 minutes away -- 30 minutes later after taking a wrong turn even with GPS, I was frustrated). Also, desk person had trouble finding/crediting my membership number, but did refer me to the nationwide help line.

The Best Western Plus Lackland Hotel was a perfect fit for our visit to San Antonio to watch our son graduate from basic training in the Air Force. It is approximately 3 blocks from the gate to the base that is needed for graduation. If you are unfamiliar with the area I highly recommend staying at this hotel, the staff is very helpful in giving directions and having maps available. The breakfast is delicious and early enough to attend graduation events on time. Overall the hotel is very clean and nice. The staff is polite and professional.

Great hotel with incredibly friendly staff! We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is close to Lackland Air Force Base and is the perfect location if attending basic training graduation or the Base. It was a quiet place to stay and was perfect for our family.

We stayed here while attending my son's Airforce boot camp graduation. We only stayed there to sleep because we were out most of the day but the room was clean and comfortable. They do provide a good continental breakfast. I would recommend it for other military families. Reasonable rates and close to base.

It was a good experience!!!!! We stayed there for one night only but we would love to visit again;such was the experience:) The hotel location is very peaceful,though the downtown is a bit far from this hotel but the sea world is quite near.The courteous staff makes you feel the warmth even more. The room was a good size and very inviting.It was clean with plenty of natural light.The property seemed very new and fresh.The bathroom was also good size ,neat and fresh. Overall it was very relaxing !!!! We would definitely visit again as it was a value for money place.

The Best Western Hotel at San Antonio Texas was one of the finest hotels that I have stayed at .The staff was very helpful with directions for getting around San Antonio and Lackland Airforce Base. The breakfast buffet was real good and well maintained. I can not say enough good about the staff they were so helpful with everything. If I ever return to San Antonio I will definitely stay at this hotel. The hotel was very clean inside and out. The beds were great.

We went for my boyfriends BMT graduation, it was very nice. No issues, stress free, no bugs, or roaches. Clean bathroom and rooms. Beds were very comfortable. Close to base, with free breakfast. Friendly staff we would definitely recommended.

Graduation for my son at lackland airforce. Base. The hotel was very conviently located. To get to the base was very easy, but to get back to the hotel was very confusing. Even with the gps. I liked the rooms but the bathrooms were very small". It was such a tight squeeze with two people in there at once.

Near Lackland AFB, hotel accommodated Thursday activities with breakfast at 5:30, getting to the base was a breeze, room was always cleaned, hotel was quite, king bed was comfortable, queen pull out bed was adequate

This was a wonderful hotel. The only reason I didn't rate a five was because the breakfast food selection could be better. Staff was very nice and helpful. Patty was my favorite!! Super convenient to the base.

We stayed at this hotel during our Airman's graduation from BMT. It was an excellent choice. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was also huge. We had a suite so our son could come and have plenty of room to relax. It included a full-sized kitchen - not a kitchenette. There was also a ceiling fan, which is a perk for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and breakfast was good. On the first couple of days they serve breakfast early so you have plenty of time to eat before you leave to attend graduation. I have to mention Rey. He was one of the staff members who was present in the breakfast area each morning. He greeted everyone each morning and was so accommodating. The hotel is very close to the base. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I can't say enough about this hotel. The staff was friendly, clean comfortable quite room, nice breakfast and a bar. If you are going to Lackland Air Force base it's a 5 minute drive. The hotel also provided graduation information and maps of Lackland.

This is a wonderful hotel. It is clean and the people that work there are very friendly and helpful. Two of the ladies that work there helped us with a mistake that BW reservations had made. Thank you Patty and Adriana! If you are going to make reservations for your child's graduation from Lackland AFB its best to call the hotel direct, asthe BW reservation customer service didn't have us down after I called. They also give an additional discount for graduation where BW doesn't. This hotel is about a 3 minute drive from the base, also construction is going on in the area so watch the road signs. I would definitely return to this hotel.

The staff was very nice and helpful with any questions we had. They were very well informed on information with the base. We enjoyed our stay there very much. We would recommend staying here, especially for military graduation.

Loved this hotel, it was clean, modern and very friendly staff. Our family had 3 rooms and we were all accommodated to the first floor as requested. We were there for the Airman graduation at Lackland. The hotel had given us a handout with all the maps and information we needed for the 2 day ceremony, this information was a life saver!!! They also serve a free breakfast an hour earlier on the graduation days. I highly recommend staying here if you have an airman graduating, or even on a family vacation. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful.

I have never stayed at a best western and didnt think they would offer me the comfort or amenities or decor that they did. Well kept hotel with decent breakfast huge rooms and good service. The elevator was a little slow but everything else was great! Oh, directions were a little tricky.

Hotel looks new and lobby is well done. That is where it ends. The hallways smell moldy. Our first room had a noisy refrigerator, plugs did not work, bathroom had a bare lightbulb hanging, and the shower faucet almost came off. We were fortunate to be able to move to another room. We hadn't stayed in a Best Western, and if this is a "plus" I'd hate to see one of their standard properties.

The staff at this hotel are excellent & super friendly! Felt like they were looking out for us!! Rooms & entry are decorated nicely. Beds comfortable & pillows soft! Carpet is due for a change & coffee at breakfast is a little weak but for the price it's worth it.

Patty at the front desk was so nice and greeted me with a great smile. I had been calling Patty before we checked in with questions I would have and every time she would answer them with such great patience. The General Manager was also so very nice. They were both very accommodating . Would highly recommend this hotel.

Noise from other rooms was a little out of control and nothing was done when several complaints were made. Other than that the hotel met all of our needs during our stay. Would consider staying at this hotel in the future.

My family and I stayed here for my daughter's graduaton from Airforce BMT from wed-sunday. The hotel was within minutes to the air force base which was super convenient. After seeing several other hotels in the area this one definitely looked the nicest and it was in a decent area. The staff was very courteous and helpful, they gave us directions and recommendations many times to restaurants in the area and to places to visit. The hotel was very clean and well kept, confortable beds, breakfast was good and had many options. Met many other family members that were there for the same reason as well as other Airmen. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming for BMT graduation!!

Clean, friendly, great breakfast. Roads to get to hotel were a little tricky, make sure you Google directions. Printed out directions to Lackland were given. Beds were super comfy. Hair dryer in bathroom. Was very nice to have a frig in the room. Plenty of storage for clothes and lots of outlets to charge devices.

Attended son's Air Force graduation ceremonies at Lackland AFB. A very convenient location to get to and from the base for graduation weekend. The staff at Best Western Plus Lackland Hotel & Suites was great–attentive and very friendly. The room, comfortable and clean. An in-room safe would be a nice addition.

Stay was very impressive. The staff went out of there way for you, if you needed any assistance with anything. Breakfast was good to, even early for parents or visitors that come to see graduation. Hotel stay was overall was a blessing! I will recommend anyone to stay here.

This hotel had so much going for it. It was clean, centrally located (10 minutes from the River-walk and the Alamo) beautiful facility, friendly staff, wonderful amenities..... but the management evidently decided to cut corners with the breakfast. The eggs were cold and watery, the biscuits were not heated...as a matter of fact they were in the refrigerated section... the attendant told me that the manager wouldn't let her heat them. The "sausage gravy" had no sausage. It's amazing to me how some of the hotels get that just a little effort with the breakfast can make the world of difference... A little salsa and cheese with the eggs... or spinach.... changes those eggs into a real delight. A poor breakfast just well, leaves a bad taste in your mouth. (No pun intended) I'm so sorry that the outstanding impression for me was the poor breakfast and the so what attitude of the kitchen attendant.

We stayed here when our son graduated from basic training at Lackland AFB. Everyone was exceptionally helpful providing us with maps, information, and breakfast an hour early on Thursday and Friday mornings so that we could attend the 7am parent's meeting on the base. Breakfast was excellent with many choices both hot and cold. The rooms were nicely done and the beds were very comfortable. We were able to get to Lackland in just a few minutes making the location perfect for moving back and forth from the base each day. This is an excellent choice for staying by Lackland and we will definitely stay again if we are lucky enough to come down for another visit with our son before he is transferred to his next assignment.

We were there last week for our son's AF BMT graduation and it was an excellent choice! We had a suite and an additional room which allowed our son some much needed rest. The staff are obviously aware of the weekly graduations and are very accommodating to the families of the new Airmen. The night desk clerk was extremely kind and patient with all of the weary, exhausted travelers and anxious mamas arriving late Wednesday night! Listen to her advice! Great stay and highly recommend!

Stayed here for our son's graduation from BMT at Lackland AFB. The location was very convenient to the base and the beds were super comfortable. The breakfast was very good. This hotel had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is perfect for BMT graduation! We have stayed at another hotel for a previous graduation and I was looking for one this time that was nicer and in a better part of town. This hotel did not disappoint. We arrived early and were quickly checked in (had 2 rooms) by a friendly staff that answered any questions and gave us suggestions on area restaurants. The hot breakfast was nice and the fact that they start serving it early on Thursday and Friday mornings shows that they understand who their customer base is. It was also nice that they have a downstairs bar that is open Wednesday through Saturday evenings to help the families that are there for graduation unwind. It is close to the base and even though fast food and restaurants are approximately 10 minutes or so away it is conveniently located to be able to reach those as well. It took us roughly 30 minutes to get to the Riverwalk and to Toyota Field (it's by the airport). The rooms were a nice size and were clean. Since this was our second time in San Antonio for BMT graduation I'm not sure if we will have a need to return but if we do this is where we will be staying.

I chose this hotel for my son's BMT graduation based on TripAdvisor reviews, and that was a great decision. We were welcomed by a very friendly woman at the front desk, who also gave us some very helpful additional information about attending the graduation festivities. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bedding for the sofa bed was given to us all nicely cleaned and wrapped up. The breakfast was plentiful and decent, the coffee was good, and there was enough seating. And opening the breakfast early on Thursday and Friday is such a great way to cater to graduates' families! The only downside to the hotel was the location, which, ironically, is also part of the draw. There really is almost nothing else close to it except the base.

I considered this hotel because it had received so many good reviews however, i think the reviews may be fake. I got there at 3pm (hotels check in time) with a reservation. No rooms available that are clean. Was told there would be a room available in 30 minutes. I sat in the chairs in front of the desk so I wouldnt be forgotten. Well an hour later, i checked in to see if a room was available. The front desk clerk had me wait until he finished a personal cellphone call to be answer my question. I was finally given a key to a room and it was NASTY AS HELL. I dont even think the housekeepers tried. The room smelled funny, there was hair in the bed and on the chair, carpet wasnt vacuumed, and the bathroom.....deplorable. I wouldnt expect anyone to take their shoes off in the shower nonetheless be barefoot. I went back downstairs and gave them back their key to the room and asked them not to charge me. A couple days later I contacted the manager and told him. He gave a sorry apology and said that the hotel takes these things serious. (i truly doubt that from all the disgusting grime that was in the shower. That was a build up of montha or years).

The hotel is nice – but if you are traveling on business you're going to be interrogated and made to prove you're actually a state employee. Very frustrating after a long day at work. The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. But forget Hot breakfast before 7 AM.

I usually don't splurge on hotel rooms but all of the places near Lackland had pretty bad reviews. It was definitely worth the extra money to stay in such a clean, comfortable, luxurious room. The location is far enough from the freeway and everything else that it's quiet and peaceful. There's a park with a playground right up the street. I was thoroughly impressed with the full breakfast, the staff, and the quality of my room. It's a quick drive to Valley Hi Gate and HEB is on the way. I'm so glad I didn't opt for a questionable room somewhere else.

This location was perfect for BMT graduation -- only a few minutes from the gate and very easy access (especially if you go the "back" way!). Rooms were spacious and clean and the hotel staff was very helpful. I felt the rates were very reasonable. They open breakfast early on the mornings you have to be on base early, so everyone still had a hot breakfast, even though we had to be on base before 7am. You won't go wrong staying here!

we stayed 4 nights during our son's graduation at Lackland Airbase. This Hotel has a very short and easy route to the airbase. Clean, Comfortable beds, nice size room and Accommodating staff. Thank you for making our stay an even more memorable trip.

If you are looking for a very nice place to stay while attending your child's Air Force graduation THIS is the place to stay. Very friendly staff, excellent housekeeping. Very close to the base. Room was very clean and comfortable. Price was very reasonable for the week we stayed there. No worries ever staying at this place. Would highly recommend staying here especially if you are attending Lackland AFB festivities. Staff is very knowledgeable about the city if you have never been there. Coming from Nebraska, we were VERY pleased with this hotel and would tell anyone THIS is the place to stay!!

Our family came to San Antonio for our Daughters graduation with another hotel reservation but was told they had no room for us..We called the Best Western Plus and they helped us immediately....They talked us in to there location by telephone since we had gotten lost....To me thats above and beyond excellent customer service...ALL the staff is courteous and professional and a lot of fun...Our room was immaculate and cleaned spotless every day...The breakfast was great....They have a fabulous bar in the hotel for a nice drink after a long day...Crystal the bartender makes a great nightcap....The hotel is located conveniently near base....I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here...GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!! A very good stay....I would consider staying here again. The location was remote which was fine with me, the complimentary breakfast was filling, and the service was superb. Very clean. I would stay here again.

I chose this hotel as it was close to my family's home. It was suggested to me by my parents, and it did not disappoint. The rooms were clean, nice and comfortable. They had a inside pool where my girls could swim and release the long drive. Their breakfast was always ready and very delicious. Their staff was always very welcoming and friendly. I will be staying her again over and over when I visit my family.

First, I will say that I rarely write reviews but I read reviews all the time. I spent a lot of time reading reviews before deciding confidently on booking this hotel for my niece's BMT graduation weekend. We booked the hotel for 6 nights because we spent a couple days sightseeing. The hotel is very convenient to the base and the staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable about BMT graduation and the base. We really appreciated that. The hotel looked like it had been recently renovated and appeared clean. Breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast. We were feeling confident in our choice of this hotel for the first 2 days. Then, on the second night we were going back to our room and we found a huge cockroach in the hallway. My husband stepped on it and when we got back to our room he called the front desk and told them about it and where it was to come see it and clean it up. We figured it was just one roach and it was in the hallway so we would give the hotel the benefit of the doubt. Roaches can be anywhere. But, on the 4th morning of our stay we found another cockroach in the bathroom of our room. That was it for us. We flushed it down the toilet and decided to pack up our stuff and move to another hotel We did not want to risk bringing cockroaches home in our luggage. We have NEVER moved hotels in the middle of our trip. NEVER. But, it wasn't worth the risk. When we checked out my husband told the front desk why we leaving and they said "We don't have a cockroach problem here, they just come in because of the weather". I don't care why they come in - they should have exterminators come in and spray. Also, we were on the 4th floor so if they just came in from the weather they traveled pretty far up the building. I wrote this review because I feel like I have to let others know what happened to us since we made sure to read all the reviews before coming here and because the front desk was ignoring the problem and did not mention they would take care of it after being informed. It should be known that we also paid for the full 4 nights and did not request a discount. We just did what we felt was right for us and moved hotels.

The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The hotel has a bar and comfortable lounge area which was great for visiting with friends and family. The pool was bigger than most hotel pools and very clean.

Very nice large accessible suite, one night stay. Only negative about room, is location of wall plugs in bedroom, can not be reached by wheelchair confined person. Staff friendly, had readily available information on getting to base. Easy access to base and major highway.

Stayed from Wednesday 11/9 through Sunday, 11/13. Room was clean, quiet, spacious and best of all, in close proximity to the base. Staff had all the info on graduation times and opened breakfast early on Thursday and Friday mornings so that those of us attending graduation events could eat before heading out. The staff, as well as all locals, were so friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this hotel to others and would absolutely stay again if in the area.

Great location, decent breakfast with extensive offerings, great hotel staff, very accomondating. Room had only 2 towels and the thermostat was not working. They promptly took care of both with politeness and professionalism. We had a huge king suite with kitchen. Kitchen lacked housewares, which defeats point of a kitchenette in a hotel. Not even a roll of paper towels or dish soap. Bathroom was tight. Toilet crammed up against sink. Could've made kitchen smaller and bath larger. Hallway and stairs smelt musty and moldy. Blackout curtains were not useful and even had holes in them.

Best Western Atrea in San Antonio was one of the nicest experiences we have had in awhile. Staff was over-the-top helpful, provided helpful hints and maps for those attending military graduation, breakfast was hearty and ready early for us, beds were comfortable, rooms clean & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This hotel had great reviews but most of the reviews were talking about the service and the front desk people. They were all wonderful and very helpful, answering questions about the graduation functions, and recommendations for restaurants but I wanted more information about if the rooms were clean and comfortable. We were so happy to find that the rooms are very clean, the beds are very comfortable. We found nothing to complain about. The other plus this hotel has going for it is that it is very convenient to Lackland AF base. When you have to be on base early in the morning for the Airman's run and Graduation it was wonderful to have just a 5 minute ride. I am a fussy hotel person and I was extremely satisfied.

Will never stay there again. These people did not have a laundry for guest, we have been to many hotels & I am a member of BW, this is by far the worst one. Our stay was 2 days and the only reason we stayed a second day is because it was too late to go looking for another. We left for 4 hours giving maids time to clean, we came back a couple of times and our rooms were STILL not clean. Around 5 p.m. I asked the maids if they could clean our rooms and they told me our rooms were not on their list!!!! Finally after more waiting I kept calling front desk and they kept telling me they would be right up to clean our rooms, after six p.m. I was VERY upset and told them what I thought FINALLY we ended up getting our rooms cleaned. The food was good, staff was great, there was a lady named Roxy and I forgot the name of the other lady working the front desk, they were great and the men cleaning up were doing a great job. But I will never go there again

Overall just a great place to stay for an affordable price. Very clean, great breakfast choices & conveniently located close to the base. The only bummer was they only had one DVD player that was unavailable so we didn't get to watch our airmans graduation DVD with her.

Newly renovated; comfortable beds and bedding materials...multiple ports for charging electronics. First room we were assigned, not lights worked on bedside wall...told desk clerk as we headed out to dinner...upon return nothing done...assigned to another room whose toilet would not flush...rather than be moved again we proceeded to make the repair ourselves...slippery tubs will lead to guest falls.

Room was exceptionally clean, breakfast was delicious and staff very, very helpful. The only negative was the people upstairs - very loud late at night. Close to Lackland AFB. Based on other hotels I was in during my stay I was glad I booked this one. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and book a room on the 4th floor!

Good hotel with friendly staff. Dropped the bags off prior to checking in and went to the Alamo and river walk. A little bit noisy at night with some of the guests, but not over the top. Good breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi

Hotel is located very close to Lackland AFB and provides schedule of BMT events including best times to leave with directions. Provides a good breakfast which is terrific as BMT events are early and this makes things very simple. Location of the base is close to the main entrance which does not close throughout the weekend, also hotel is clean with a great staff. Would recommend to any family visiting Lackland.

We had reserved four rooms for a family reunion. After a four hour trip, we arrived about 2:45 and were told that only one of our rooms was ready. We waited in the lobby which was comfortable, but it wasn't until about 3:45 that the front desk announced that all of our rooms were ready. After that delayed check-in, our rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good and served warm. Even though the location is at the intersection of 410 and 190, our rooms were very quiet.

Everyone that worked there was so kind and helpful. They also have a full breakfast at 5:30 on Thursday and Friday for BMT ceremonies. The website says they are 2 1/2 miles from base, but seems much closer.

We had a very good experience here for Air Force Basic Graduation. The staff was friendly, and they have early breakfast for those attending graduation ceremonies. I would definitely would stay here again. The location to the Valley Hi Gate is awesome and getting to and from Lackland was the major reason we chose this hotel. Based on some of the other families at graduation, we are very glad we booked here.

I thought It was a little overpriced after the taxes were added on. But we did enjoy the nice sized rooms and the layout of the motel. Also the bar right in the motel was great too. Overall it was fine. I think if you reserve more than one room which I had 2 rooms that you should get some discount. We didn't even get a senior discount.

Staff was extremely helpful, the rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfast was more appetizing then other continental breakfasts I've experienced. Location provided easy access to Highway 90 and Loop 410. With being so close to the freeway no road noise was heard from my room

This hotel is relatively new and in good condition. Most guests seemed to be staying for ceremonies at nearby Lackland AFB. Staff were friendly. It lacks nearby restaurants for a nice dinner. Breakfast was fantastic!

I was very happy with the a/c system since I could set the wall thermostat at the temperature I wanted. The bed was comfortable with 2 soft sheets with a thin blanket in between and plenty of pillows. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy. They also have belgian waffles and so much more. The front desk clerk also went way out of her way to find a phone charger for me when I discovered I had left mine. I will definitely be staying at this location whenever I go to San Antonio.

We wanted to stay near the Lackland, it was about a mile from the base. The room was nice and clean. The staffs were hopeful and friendly, they give great direction and really know the area. If you want to cook while your there, they do have one room with a full kitchen and offer pots, pans and all the utensils. Our new airman wanted a home cook meal and we were available prepared her favorite dish. The room is not advertise but you can ask to book room 420. The hotel also provide breakfast to accommodate the early BMT schedule (airmen's run on Thursday and Parade on Friday). We really enjoy our stay here, thanks for making our trip great!

I picked this hotel based on other reviews and it was an excellent choice. I would stay here again anytime. Wonderful rooms and amenities along with hot breakfast each morning before we headed out to AFB. Housekeeping did a wonderful job of keeping our King Suite clean and fresh looking everyday. Very helpful staff along with handouts to show the quickest routes to AFB. Also very close to a Dollar General if you need any last minute items, like bottled water and snacks. Overall this is a great choice for any stay in this area.

I recommend this hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very good. The only thing I felt it needed was a laundry facility to use. I wish I could have done laundry there.

We visited this hotel while attending my son's graduation at Lackland Air Force Base. It was a nice hotel, close to base (less than 10 min), had a good breakfast and friendly staff. The front desk help we're very helpful... Gave us maps, directions and tips for our daily trip to the base. We stayed in room 302 and had no issues. Rey was very friendly, attentive and helpful each morning at breakfast.

Only about 5 minute drive to Lackland AFB. Room was clean, a few stains on the carpet, but not a deal breaker. Hot breakfast in the morning, staff very friendly. There are stores nearby, I'd recommend buying some snacks for you room, there's not really a shop inside the hotel. Overall, great stay.

On the outskirts of town, much quieter here. They provide free breakfast at half the price of the Marriott. Free Wi Fi here too. Business center available where we can print out our boarding passes for free. Free use of the computer. I love this hotel!! There is even a bar (alcohol) in the lobby. How can you beat that?

This hotel was very close to the base entrance. Staff was very informed of all the Graduation activities and very helpful. Hotel was nice and clean. Great breakfast. Even opened breakfast early on days of graduation. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed, like many other families, for our son's graduation from Air Force basic training. The hotel really caters to the families and loved ones of BMT graduates. The breakfast is available an hour early for the days we needed to be at the base early. That was so welcome! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. Having laundry facilities available was very helpful. It was so hot during our stay, I really appreciated being able to wash our clothes and pack them clean! It is very close to Lackland Air Force Base but not close to the traffic and chaos. It was nice to be away from the crowd. I wish there was an outside courtyard to sit, if there was one, I didn't see it. They have a pool and hot tub, but we didn't use it. It looked inviting, we were just to tired. BMT graduation weekend is exhausting and emotionally draining. But worth every bit of it! If you are there for BMT graduation, enjoy every minute! It goes by quickly! The Best Western is a nice place for the graduate to hang out and relax for bit.

When we arrived the hotel staff were very nice and helped us with our accommodations. The hotel was very well kept and beautiful. The room was more than what we expected and we got everything that we expected to be in the room. we stayed for two nights and it was very well worth the trip. I would rate this hotel a 5 stars.

Nice, clean, and accommodating place to stay for AF Graduation. There is a less crowded gate right down the street which was closer to their drop off location. Staff was very helpful and they have made convenient hours for breakfast. Highly recommend to check it out.

This hotel was very convenient to Lackland AFB. We could not have asked for friendlier or more helpful staff. They were all great! Each person we encountered was so nice. They know all about graduation and are there to help any way they can. Serving breakfast early on Thursday and Friday is so great! Being up, ready and out of there by 6 am was hard, so it was nice to have food in our belly before we headed over for the Airman's Run. Thank you to all the staff there!

Best place to stay if you're attending BMT Graduation. Staff caters to families even adjusting breakfast to accommodate early schedules. Good variety breakfast. Good bar for relaxing later. Room was well kept. Didn't use pool but it looked nice. Convenient to lots of places to eat. They even show sympathy when having to leave our airman. Doubt you can find a better place

The staff here went above and beyond to help us get things figured out and I cannot speak highly enough of them. If you are looking for a hotel near Lackland AFB this hotel was super convenient, the rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It is only a couple minute drive to Lackand AFB. Our room was very clean. The hotel opened up the full hot breakfast early both days of graduation events. My daughter loved the pool too. It was a little more money than I had originally wanted to spend, but after our time there, it was definitely the right choice!

People here are awesome, they set up a wonderful hot breakfast for Thursday and Friday graduation events. The place is always clean, you feel safe, awesome location because it is close to base but sits by itself so you can get on base in less than five minutes. The saff will help you in any way, like with directions or any questions you may have! I do lots of traveling but this place goes above and beyond to may your stay a great one!

Excellent Service. The hotel is pretty basic but very clean! There was no bath tub only a stand up shower. The staff were helpful and friendly! This is a great value hotel in a city that can be pretty expensive for accommodation!

Took a mini vacation with family and friends and decided to stay here because of location. Everyone was totally blown away. This is not your typical cookie cutter Best Western. The rooms are extremely well appointed, along the caliber of a Hilton Hotel. There is a bar in the lobby and the breakfast each morning was incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the area. You will not be disappointed.

4 minutes from Lackland AFB which was very convenient Pool inside was too small - No outside pool Hot breakfast was good Cleaning ladies were rude when asked for additional towels - begin speaking in Spanish about me when I requested the towels, and when I questioned her, she never opened her mouth. Restaurant list in room was inaccurate and had closed restaurants listed on the menu so we spent over an hour looking for a soul food restaurant that was actually out of business. Internet in the business center is EXTREMELY slow and either timed out or took what seemed like forever to hop from one page to another, and printing took even longer.

The staff at the desk were very helpful; the person we checked in with took a lot of time to find a few locations we wanted to visit and how to drive there. Room was spacious and clean. Plenty of hot water for shower. Good housekeeping service. Breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold items. The only negative is that it is a little difficult to find the hotel since it is located a little off the main roads.

We came down here for a military graduation and the staff was amazing! We got our hotel mixed up with another Best Western but this location was able to accommodate us. They had an extra suite with a Jacuzzi that we were able to book. Even at night they opened up the conference room so we could play cards. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was very clean and everyone was very nice!

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was clean and very helpful and accommodating. We were there for our son's BMT graduation and the staff had maps to help us with our travel to the base and on the base. They also arranged breakfast to coincide with the events being held on base, so we were able to eat early when needed.

The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the graduation schedule. The info pak they provided us was much better than anything you will find on the base. They also serve breakfast an hour early to accommodate those attending early graduation events. KUDO's to the staff for a very pleasant stay.

All they had left was a smoking room. But, it was still good. Truck parking is available. The pool was nice. Laundry room on the 3rd floor was good. Dryer worked great! The shower was good. They provide dispenser type soaps. Very close to 10/410 for drivers.

This place was so nice, and clean, the news were beyond comfortable, had a nice and spacious bathroom, and lives that it came with a mini fridge, and microwave that came in handy. I will deff. Be returning.

I want to make a shout to the attendant heli Bhagat she made our stay super nice and comfortable. She went beyond her way to make us feel like home. Super sweet so we are definably coming back. It's also in a great location near 6 flags so can't go wrong with that.

During my recent visit to Dan San Antonio for the graduation of my granddaughtet, I haf the pleasute of staying at BEST WESTERN PLUS HILL COUNTRY Suites. Upon my late check in, I found the young lady who checked me in to be courteous, kind and professional. Equally in the morning I found another young lady at the front desk who was cheerful and helpful. I would recommend this hotel highly.

We stayed here for a basic training graduation at the AFB nearby. The attendant at the counter helped us find a couple of great Mexican restaurants nearby, the bartender was kind enough to purchase my husbands favorite vodka for our nightly cocktails and they even saved my pillow when I forgot it and came back for it hours later. They also serve breakfast early because so many people stay there for the AFB graduations. Just can't say enough!!!

We stayed here for a long weekend for the 4th of July. This is located just minutes from the zoo and Seaworld. There are many restaurants near it as well. The property was nice and our room was clean. All the staff were very helpful. We would stay here again.

We recently stayed 5 nights in a king suite for USAF BMT. Our first impression of the hotel/lobby/desk staff was excellent. However, things took a different turn when we exited the elevator on the 2nd floor. There was a strong musty smell in the hallway & stairwell. The carpets were probably the cause of this, since they were noticably stained. As we entered the suite, we were very pleased with the size, layout, & decor. Sadly, I immediately noticed that the housekeeping was a bit lacking. The counters, tables, & shelving were all covered with a fine layer of dust. I suspect there may be an issue with the a/c filter, since soon after I dusted upon arrival, it was in the same condition. Not great for allergy sufferers. Another area needing attention was the bathroom. It was neat and well stocked, but the shower had a grungy feel, with dirty (mildew?) grout on the bottom portion of the enclosure. Also, the shower design is awful! You have to get into the shower to turn on the water...which means you start with a cold shower. As another reviewer mentioned, it just made no logical design sense. On a brighter note, the location was very convenient to the base and the hotel staff was always very helpful with any questions concerning BMT or other concerns. The breakfast was nice, but I would love to see hotels begin to offer some healthier alternatives, such as turkey bacon/sausage, etc.

Very nice hotel in a convenient location. This is one of the nicer Best Western's we have visited. The lobby is large with a small bar, nice pool and fitness area. The front desk clerks were very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was good and the folks taking care of it were excellent. The room was huge with a full kitchen, living area with couch and chairs and a comfortable bed. Wi Fi was fair to good. The hotel is located a little out of the way but still close to highway and was easy to get around and find shopping, restaurants and local attractions. We had 2 issues while staying here that causes me to only rate this hotel a 3 when it could easily be a 5. The first problem was more of the way the hotel is constructed and not someone's doing. The area between floors must be made of paper because the noise from above was much more than what it should have been. Every move that was made in the room above was amplified and directed right below to our room. The major issue with this hotel is the housekeeping. During our 6 night stay, our room was not vacuumed once. The hallway outside our room had the same paper trash laying in it on the last day as it did the first. The stairwells were filthy with the same trash day after day. 4 of the 6 days there the coffee wasn't replenished and not enough towels were left. One afternoon when returning to our room we found the toilet tissue hadn't been replaced. We made trips to the front desk on these days to ask for these items. I actually dusted the dresser and coffee table myself on day 5 due to the thick coating of dust on them. On one of our days we returned at 5PM only to find our room hadn't been touched yet. Other than the housekeeping staff, we found everyone at the property to be very nice and helpful. The gentleman that checked us out went above and beyond by going floor to floor looking for a luggage cart for us. The housekeepers we seen were rude and acted like they didn't want to be there. Too bad for this hotel as it could be a top pick for me if not for the lack of good housekeeping.

We booked a king suite at this location a few months ago. When we arrived, the nice man at the front desk upgraded our room to a king suite w/ a kitchenette. The room was spacious, big enough to put a playpen for our 15 month old and still have her run around. The room, kitchen and bathroom were very clean. A/C worked very well. The hotel utilizes low flow showers and toilets for conservation efforts, but the showers still seemed very nice. The only noise we heard were the closing of the front doors, but that didn't really bother us. Our only concern was the mattress in our room was firmer than other Best Western's we've stayed in. Other than that, we had a good stay.

The room we stayed in was a very clean room. The breakfast was wonderful with a variety of things to choose from. All the employees of the motel were very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We had a very nice stay here. The rooms were a good size and the bed was comfortable. It was a little noisy because you couldn't close the doors quietly and there were people coming and going at all times. Also, the shower set up was not good. It was an open shower (no door or curtain) and you had to get into the shower to turn it on and water still got on the floor. Bad design. Other than that it was a good experience. Definitely worth the money.

This was my first time in San Antonio and I have to say this hotel was probably the best hotel I ever stayed in. The price for the room is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Awesome Breakfast! If I ever come back to San Antonio this is my preferred spot.

We arrived exhausted after a 16-hour drive. The front desk employee was very friendly and got us checked into the promised rooms next to the elevator. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and much bigger than I thought they would be. We stayed for a week for my daughter's Air Force BMT graduation. We're a family of 6 - the hotel was easy on the budget, provided a delicious breakfast with options to please everyone, and the amenities kept everyone happy when our 2 airman needed to just hangout and relax. We were less than 10 minutes from the base, 15 minutes from the Riverwalk and Market Square, and had a grocery store, Walgreens, and every fast-food restaurant within 5 minutes. The hotel handled deliveries for me and helped with returning the scooter I had rented - very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the area and the BMT events. It was a great stay!

Stayed here with my boyfriend on our summer vacation to San Antonio. Hotel is really nice. Nicest Best Western I have ever stayed in. Very clean. Few blocks down from the river walk. We had no problem walking. Would stay again in the future. Highly recommended.

When I read nitpicky hotel reviews, I often think that the reviewer is stuck on tiny details that don't matter. Well, sometimes those picky details DO matter in the overall impression. Such is the case of BW+ Atrea. Upon arrival I noticed the landscaping outside this newish hotel had been planted and then forgotten...unkempt and unattractive. A late check-in on a Saturday night probably meant we got one of the last rooms to be let (No. 414), so that may explain why there was a missing bath mat (towel), a mildewy tub/shower and torn sheer draperies. There was a strange oil slick on the outside of the bathroom door...like old furniture polish gone wrong, and the wood vanity shelving was splintered and damaged. I had no success in finding the TV channel guide, which frustrated me, but I will take the rap for "user error" on that one. Singularly, these complaints are insignificant, but when they are all taken into account they add up to a lack of care, poor management and generally a bad impression...especially in a newer property. That said, the staff were friendly, the obligatory free breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the bed comfortable. BW+ Atrea will be a winner with just a little attention to the details.

We stayed there for one night. Room was clean, quiet,comfortable bed.To my pleasant surprise room and bathroom was very spacious. Front desk agent was pleasant and friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed for BMT graduation Wednesday through Monday. It was perfectly located to the base. We had two nice rooms for 5 of us. The breakfast was decent, the bar was convenient. The beds were comfy after a long three days with our Airman ( you will walk ... A lot !!) used the pool one day, just right. Front desk kind and courteous. Don't stay anywhere else for BMT graduation unless you need a five star hotel with day spa and gourmet restaurant. This is a great place for normal every day folks joining the Air Force Family!

This hotel is located about 5 minutes from Lackland AFB gate. Easy access to graduation events. There is a continental breakfast which is served beginning at 5:30 am the day of Airman's run and 6:30 other days. So time and money can be saved by grabbing quick bite before heading out to base. Looked to be the nicest hotel around the base.

The hotel is very clean! The staff is very polite! For BMT Graduation, the trip is under 10 mins to Lackland. About 1.5 miles Very convenient! I LOVED their bed and pillows! Extremely comfy especially after a long day! I also loved that they had coffee 24/7! The breakfast was fantastic and for BMT grad they hold it an hour earlier for those who have to get up and out (on thurs and Fri) Highly recommended!!!!!!

We came for our son's graduation from Air Force basic training. The hotel is close to the base. Nice room, but the only down side was the musty smell to the hotel and the rooms. I would still stay here again though...

everything you need at a value price. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was adequate. Close to the work site for me. Staff is not overly friendly but they are usually efficient although I was not acknowleged at the front desk because he was on the phone.

This is an above average hotel with friendly staff and to my surprise a bar with lounge. The bad thing about the hotel is the property around the hotel. Illegal dumping makes the place look and feel bad. Not much interest in running or walking at night--possible varmints. There is a nice lake and walking area just next to the hotel but you must get around tires, trash, and garbage. City of San Antonio needs to enforce the codes on property owner.

We could not have been happier with the selection of this Best Western!! Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, safe environment and the amenities were great! We will definitely stay here if we are in the area again!!

The hotel is nice and modern. The free breakfast is very good and consists of real eggs! Fresh fruit, waffles and many other choices. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful! I highly recommend this hotel.

Our experience at the Best Western was great! We were their for five days for our son's graduation ceremony from the United States Air Force basic military training. The hotel staff were wonderful and extremely helpful in every way.

Easy access to Lackland Air Force Base. Service was great. Breakfast was great and convenient for Graduation and other ceremonies. Staff helpful in picking out other entertainment for food etc... Room service would have been nice.

Totally and completely accommodating for families visiting for graduation. When I found this hotel, I booked in February, & my son wasn't even leaving until April... Graduated May 27, 2016. The lobby is smaller than what it looks in the photos. I thought the bed was comfy, my fiancé did not. Breakfast was great! Patty at the front desk was so super sweet and nice!! The bartender is also a league above the rest! So nice. The morning staff appeared pleasant and wanted to help if you needed assistance. Getting here.... Lol. Tricky. Texas roads are crazy!! Would highly recommend it here. Also you can have tshirts delivered to the hotel from the LACKLAND tshirt shop if you order them too late to be delivered to your home.

When you think Best western you don't get excited but this is a Best Western Plus and it was phenomenal. My family was really impressed with the exterior and interior of the hotel. Very clean, fresh and open. A nearby park with a basketball court and play area for the kids to stretch out. Check in/check out was easy, staff was welcoming and polite. My son vomited and had a nose bleed that went all over the bedding during our stay, they were very nice and understanding about the mess. Breakfast was amazing, eggs, bacon, sasuage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, pasteries, cereal, fruit, juice/coffee, very plentiful and good. I have never been in a hotel that had a open window option, I really liked having the fresh air option. Walmart, HEB,Walgreens, and gas options are close. Only negative which is not of the hotel but a pizza company whom left a flyer slide under the door. Do not order from them, it was the most regrettable, frustrating experience. They overcharged our card, got the order wrong and even hung up on my husband while still discussing the error. Said they would refund our money and pick up the food when called back but never showed, very hostile experience. The hotel is aware of them and have even blocked them, but they sneak in. I would only ask the hotel to inform guests at check in or place in the room binder a warning not to order from possible flyers in their room. Overall we will not hesitate coming back here at all.

This hotel is amazing. When I first walked in, the scenery of this place is awesome. You wouldn't expect this if your thinking Best Western. Highly recommend this particular hotel to anyone who needs a room in San Antonio.

Great location to Lackland between both gates. Parking is limited but overall excellent for the price. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. The breakfast is served earlier than normal to accommodate military families.

This is just a great hotel!!!! Went for our son's graduation from Air Force BMT. VERy convenient to Lackland AFB, took 5 minutes maybe to get to base. Rooms were super clean, indoor pool, great breakfast (fresh waffles, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt and more!!! Staff was more then accommodating. We went downstairs after swimming around 10 and our youngest wanted cereal. They got him a bowl and some milk and bam! cereal and one happy boy! This is a great hotel!!! Its been open 7 yrs and I thought it was brand new. The road leading into there you may think you are lost but keep going and its at the end.

This is an awesome hotel. Right down the street from Lackland AFB. The staff from the time you check in to the time that you leave are very helpful and kind. The moment we checked in they had a map ready for us for all the events happening on base. It how directions and times of when we needed to leave the hotel so we could get to the base and not be late. If you are looking for wonderful place to stay and bang for your buck this is the place. They had breakfast early on the two days we needed to be on base extra early. I highly recommend staying here.

Very close to Lackland Air Force Base. The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. We repeatedly had to request additional towels and pick them up at front desk. Indoor pool (not warm) and gym (small) were adequate. Newer hotel, pretty clean, breakfast was great (eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, waffles, etc), but no other food available except for few frozen items. Overall not bad stay.
