Best Western Alamo Suites

The pictures are great and are accurate but the pictures o the outside and surrounding area aren't close it caught me off guard where I was actually going. But the stay over all was great service and amenities were on point.

Even though crowded the staff was courteous & helpful Lots of folks In town for the nearby Alamo Bowl football game as well as holidays. Entire staff handled the busy cried with coutrsy. Breakfast was good

Staff super friendly. Food amazing. Spotlessly clean. Rooms very big. Only a few minutes walk to the river walk, which is stunning. Plenty of parking spaces. Gym is nicely equipped. Tea and coffee always available in reception.

my kids enjoy the pool and it was very clean for my family we enjoyed our stay definitely going back , really recommend this hotel near the river walk and a lot of fun things to do around and restaurants

The location was near a lot of city attractions. Being near I-10 was also a bonus. The first thing I noticed when I arrived was that it was very clean and smelled very nice all over the hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly, accommodating, and professional. They addressed my TV remote problem. The breakfast could have had more variety, but still very good. The lady was very efficient in providing the guests with food. She was personally making the waffles for everyone. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is okay, it has large rooms, but it is a little outdated. The floorplan of our room was very awkward. The main parking area is behind the hotel, but there are stairs only at the back door, making it difficult to unload/load car. Breakfast was good, but only limited selection. The staff seemed nice.

The stay is always great, great customer service,great breakfast, great pool, hot tub is awesome... close to downtown, walking distance to market square, rooms are nice and clean, every utility needed is in the room, is a must stay.

The staff was very friendly but the rooms were very hot. Spacious rooms. The pool and hot tub were great. A little small but overall great. You may have to go over cleaning your room, my room wasn't that clean and I needed to change the sheets they had hair on them and a stain. Oh and there's a dog hotel next door be prepared to hear dogs at the crack of dawn like 6ish

This is my 3rd time staying in this hotel when I visit San Antonio with the family. Really enjoy the cleanliness of the rooms and breakfast is great too! Love the indoor pool and jacuzzi they have. My kids enjoy it as well as me since it's indoor. Place is near all the downtown attractions and there's also a grocery around the corner in case of any necessities that are needed. This is our go to place when staying in San Antonio.

Room was fine until as I was leaving and checking to see if my kids put anything in the drawers. I noticed trash and produce left in a drawer from the previous occupants. So clearly the room was not cleaned well. I asked to speak to a manager and the girl working the desk asked how she could help. I brought up this and another issue that they apparently don't have control over so I will have to deal with someone else on that. Was never able to speak to manager though.

had three beds which really helped, but you need to get to beakfast early as there was not a lot of space to sit. Pool ws clean, but we had gotten the last 3 towels. parking was free and easy. Not really walking distance to teh Alamo or La Villita

The room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner was not noisy. The staff was attenuative to our request to check on a refrigerator not working. Found out it was not plugged in. Why would you not have it plugged in when it requires taking it completely out the box it set in. This is something that should be taken care of by housekeeping or maintenance so that it is on when the arrives. We arrived on a weekend and could not have anyone come look at until Monday. They did come right away in the morning. However, we could of used it working over the weekend. Furniture is worn. Dressers scuffed up and drawers (2) would not stay closed. Couch and armchair had seat cushions that were work and flat. Convenient location to walk to River Walk (almost 1 mile) Old Historic Market (3/4 of a mile)

Very clean hotel, the staff were always attentive and helpful. The location was just close enough to downtown and avoided the traffic that usual builds up. What I noticed that it is right next door to what seemed like a power plant.

Just came back from my trip to San Antonio. I stayed at Best West Alamo Suites at 1002 S Laredo St., San Antonio. Everything seems fine. BUT until the 2nd day the breakfast same as yesterday. BDW I stayed there 5 days. I asked the front desk 'Is the breakfast same everyday?' 'Yes.' 'Why?' 'The boss said so.' So I ate same breakfast for 5 days. I am tired to eat same breakfast. Why BREAKFAST EVERYDAY SAME???

Staff was great, spacious room, quiet, great breakfast, free parking, about a mile and a half from the Alamo and River Walk. This is a good place to stay that has free parking but it is still pretty easy to get to the attractions downtown. One member of our party walked there in a half hour or so.

We came to San Antonio selected this hotel for the indoor pool very clean and hotel was nice staff was friendly everything is close by river walk shopping and dining breakfast was great and fresh and internet is actually hi speed

Its a nice property in downtown San Antonio, only a couple miles from River Walk. The hotel isn't far off the interstate so getting back to the interstate was not an issue. Rooms were clean and quiet, staff was friendly.

Hotel was clean and located a little outside downtown San Antonio. Easy access to the Riverwalk and downtown. Good location for the price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Front desk was rude, unhelpful, and had terrible hygiene. Individual wrapped soaps in the bathroom were opened and used on arrival. Pictures online did not match building/neighborhood. Overall very poor experience. Don't recommend.

Had a spacious room with 3 beds with grandchildren. Breakfast was varied and good. Attendant was so nice and helpful. The indoor pool was perfect for no sunburns and to stay out of the heat. Kids loved the Disney channel.

The wife wanted to go to San Antonio for her birthday and stay downtown but not break the bank. Our room had 3 beds so our 3 kids were pleased they werent gonna be cramped. Hotel is in a good location too.

Our room met all our family's needs; we were very happy to have a tub in the bathroom for our kids. The beds were very comfortable and the room had plenty of space. My kids loved the indoor pool and the ladies serving breakfast were very kind and helpful. We loved our stay!

We just got back from a road trip through Texas and New Mexico. We stayed here when we were in San Antonio. Hotels in the area were pricey and this Best Western fit our budget. We were minutes via car from the River Walk and the Alamo. The boys had been remodeled recently. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were clean. We are a family of five with three teenaged boys. We were very comfortable in our room. There was plenty of space in our room. I would highly recommend staying here if the downtown hotels are out of your budget.

I stayed in other BW hotels before and had a great experience, this one is the worse i had ever been in. The rooms smells bad, they really need an upgrade on paint furniture, and clean the carpets; they are other hotels with better quality for the same price and closer to the Alamo and River walk. The description in their website is different to the reality.

I was dissappointed in this hotel as well. The photos are definately nicer looking than the hotel. I booked this based on the photos, previous reviews on trip advisor and to the location to the river walk. It wasn't in the best part of town and there is dog lounge or boarding place next door where you hear dogs barking a lot. If your lucky enough to get a space on the side of the hotel, I felt better with the car being there than the back. Breakfast area was very small. Get there early to get a spot and to where people aren't on top of you waitinig in line or sitting. Pricey hotel for the are. If in the area again, would stay elsewhere.

When choosing my hotel it was nothing like the discrimination or the picture. Because I was traveling with family for an important event. I was really excited to get a hotel close to the Alamo. But if was sad when I arrived and saw the room. Downgrade from previous Best Western rooms I've stayed at.

If friendly staff is important then stay here, They were very accommodating, they smiled, looked at you when speaking and made you their first concern. We were 4 old ladies in the lobby playing cards into the evening and they were so nice and eager to help us in any way we needed. The rooms were clean and well stocked. Good value for this hotel.

From the checking in to the checkout, and everything in between, the experience was A+. The parking lot is spacious. The pool room was always too noisy for my liking, but what do you except when kids play right ;)

The room was very spacious but felt dated. The bathroom, carpet and sofas could do with an upgrade. It's in a easy location to get to from the interstate and an easy bus ride downtown. There was plenty of parking when we arrived and reception were friendly. WiFi was good. We tried the pool but it was freezing cold so didn't stay long which was disappointing for the children. Breakfast was really busy and it was difficult to get to everything. Lots of tables were pushed against the wall rather than put out to be used. We enjoyed exploring San Antonio and enjoying the fiesta but this hotel feels outdated compared to others we have stayed at throughout our two week stay in Texas

The family suite was perfect for our family. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Great water pressure in shower. And it is 15 minutes from the riverwalk and it was 20 minutes from where we needed to be for the Carshow on our weekend trip.

When working in the area we stay to unwind in the pool and hot tub. Rooms are spacious and the location is close to all sorts of restaurants and bars. The staff is always courteous and professional. Problems have been few and were immediately taken care of when they occurred. Very, very satisfied and highly recommend.

Hotel was very clean and in a good location. The parking lot was very well lit and easy to see. Hidden lots tend to have issues in downtown San Antonio. Breakfast was the usual eggs, bacon, etc. and not some modified cold snacks some places do now because of the scamdemic.

Had good reviews but location was very sketchy. Room was clean but had a little smell , probably old carpeting. Definitely needs an upgrade. The view from the room was terrible had a view of some very old shacks.

This Best Western an excellent value for the price. Close to River Walk and the Alamo. River Walk was a disappointment since it was very busy full with people and restaurants were short staffed with long waits everywhere. The Best Western made the stay pleasant though with an excellent breakfast and room with a king and queen size bed.

Great place to stay looks a little shady but safe. The only issue we had was that the toilet seat was missing the nuts and it was totally loose. I told the cleaning ladies early in the morning and i called the front desk as well but nobody fixed it. other than that it was a great stay..

Absolutely loved the late check out option of 1:00 pm instead the normal 11:00 am or 12:00 pm and the indoor pool is a great benefit as well for those who like to utilize the pool. It was raining and cold while we were here and so it makes it enjoyable to have the indoor pool option. Accessibility in and out of the hotel is great as there is a back parking lot entrance and then a side entrance as well. Rooms were great in size with two king beds and an additional sofa bed plus a single sofa chair too. Loved staying here, it is nice, peaceful, there are security cameras, and best part for you animal lovers there is an awesome pet facility across the street that you could probably utilize. It is not part of the hotel.

The door never locked properly we were using the amenities at the hotel and we noticed that we could open the door without putting the card in it so I contacted The receptionist and he came and jiggled the door handle and it locked however in the morning we realized that it was unlocked the whole time because if you pushed the handle in an upward motion it would just open without a key card. They offered 25% off which was not enough to give me peace of mind I do not recommend this hotel.

This was a leisure trip we took to enjoy San Antonio. Been here many times...great city. This is probably the best location/comfortable room and friendly staff vs price we have had in 20 years. in fact will be purchasing stays for christmas gifts for our children. It was a great experience. Thanks so much.

Best hotel I seen in a long time hot breakfast scrabbled eggs sausage biscuits, Texas waffles etc. Beds are comfortable clean towels and also INDOOR POOL. Deposit of $50 low room rates, well kinda low but money's worth.

We really liked that the BW was clean. The carpets are aging, as is the hotel BUT it is clean, the staff is extremely nice & helpful. It's a quiet place. The suite was large with the two rooms separated by the bathroom, which was awesome! It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the Riverwalk. They serve a nice breakfast with a choice of waffle, eggs, sausage, biscuit, cereal, milk, yogurt, banana, orange, fruit juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Simple but hot and fresh. I'd stay here again. And I love that it's no smoking and I thought no animals, but I did see at least one. I have allergies to animals and smoke so it was really nice. The area surrounding has a dog kennel and construction rebuilding the area. But it was so quiet.

We spent WAY too much money for this dump! King & queen suite?! King bed in a room all by itself with hardly any a/c- super hot in here! Tears in our sheets & someone's tattoo ink stained on the sheet. Carpet is GROSS & old! Bathroom shower, flooring & counter have been updated only. Toilet in a closet by itself with no air- crazy hot! Queen bed room has air that is working. Carpet gross & old. Lamps, tables, curtains, paint, furniture- nasty & old! Needs a lot of work to be worth $300 a night!!!! Lots of homeless people all around this area! I do not recommend!!

Front desk workers are not very friendly. The hotel is a nice size not too far from everything. Good amenities breakfast was nice. Coming from out of state I thought the hotel was in a sketchy neighborhood. Doesn't look the best around

Do NOT skip over this location the entrance might fool you but once you walk in totally worth it located minutes from downtown and very friendly and clean. Rooms are clean and spacious, breakfast was great and the indoor pool was very relaxing.

Upon checking in to Alamo suites Best Western downtown San Antonio, I was immediately acknowledged by Rebecca's friendly smile and excellent customer service. And after having an f'd up morning from my plane trip, and my luggage coming up missing I already had a bad attitude and was for certain the day had more unexpected bs in store for me. Rebecca's professionalism in giving me a prompt and courteous check-in, which caught me off guard was exactly what I needed to cool me down. I stay in hotels a majority part of the year due to work, and the skills demonstrated by her I rarely come across, especially for a weekend in San Antonio that was jamming because of fiestas, I also was tickled to death of the fact that there was no deposit to be made, she ended the conversation with telling me if there's anything I need do not hesitate. And we all can learn something from Rebecca's customer service professionalism. I was born with a severe disability in having both arms missing, and as I got to my rooms door I was struggling with a heavy backpack, my phone wouldn't stop ringing in my pocket, and just the thought of me missing luggage, I was already hell on wheels. However another staff member of the front desk Ken saw my struggle trying to get in the room and asked if he could help. After finally getting into my room, i I took a deep breath and thanked the good Lord for putting these two individuals into my life and making life easier for me. The room was more than I expected as far as the cleanliness, and the amenities, the fact that it was already cooled down, it was very spacious, it had a nice size couch, a spacious restroom, and a bar area. Only thing that could have made it better is it being full of tequilla. It definitely felt like they were expecting my arrival all morning long and that's the stuff that catches my attention and that I do like. I don't see anything like this from Hilton, Residence Inn, or other big chain hotels. Moving forward to the following morning, I took part in the complimentary breakfast which had a lot more expected then I thought. I approached the front desk and had the privilege to meet Kim the front desk customer service representative. Once again I was greeted with a friendly smile and an excellent attitude. I asked her if she would assist me in getting some breakfast. There was no hesitation from her and she was happy to help me. I'm definitely served it up right and helped me with carrying it to the room. People like Kim come very far and few in between and her supervisor made the best decision for the company when they hired her. The Alamo Suites Best Western in downtown San Antonio demonstrated the best customer service I've ever seen. For them too realize my situation with my disability and see that I have a relaxed and comfortable stay means the world to me! Every time from here on out when visiting San Antonio you already know I'll be checking to Alamo suites Best Western downtown San Antonio. Once again I thank these three for realizing my situation and making my life the easiest during this time.

Me n my family stayed at the best wester Alamo suites very clean and friendly definitely satiating their again when we go to San Antonio the staff was incredibly nice and helpful very grateful to have stayed their for two nights highly recommended

I was hesitant about staying at this hotel after reading some of the reviews. However, there were no rooms available due to the Memorial Day weekend and waiting until the last minute to make reservations. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom was spotless! I inspected the bedding and that was spotless as well. I would stay at this hotel again!

We booked this hotel because we were going to Disney on Ice at the Alamodome and this hotel was very close to the arena. It was a 6 minute drive to the Alamodome. That was the only good thing about this hotel. When we got to the hotel I already had some suspicion about it's sketchiness from the outside. There was some weird parallel parking situation like I've never seen before. Cars were parked along the driveway of the building and in a small parking lot in the back. There's also a giant stinky dumpster right next to the buildings back entry door. As we were walking in, we could hear loud trains going by. There were multiple signs saying they were not responsible for any damage to your car or anything stolen. I understand but big bold signage with those warnings are not super welcoming or comforting. At check-in, I said “hi were checking in”. The lady said “I'm helping someone else”. I looked around... we were the only ones there. Umm ok. We got to the room and immediately noticed a funky smell. The bathtub had mold on the corners. The buttons on the microwave didn't all work. After finishing work, then driving 4 hours, we had just made it in time to change clothes and wash up before going to the show. I hadn't eaten or drank anything since that morning. Before leaving for the Alamodome, I asked the same lady at the front desk if there was somewhere I could get some water. She said they sell bottles for $1 or there's a vending machine. I said I'd pay for a bottle and asked if she could charge it to the room. She said no they cannot charge to the room and that the water can be purchased for cash only. In the midst of a pandemic this was the first and only place in over a year that said they only accept cash - the dirtiest form of payment. I stopped carrying cash months ago for that reason. It's very clear the management doesn't care about their guests. When we got back from the show, we not only heard the trains again, but also loud music in the hallway near our room. Honestly we didn't feel comfortable or safe and left the same night we checked in. When trying to check out there was no one at the front desk for about 5 minutes. TL;DR: Unfriendly, unwelcoming staff in a sketchy area but very close to the Alamodome.

Best ever hotel in town, very clean and very safe. This will be my all time stop in san antonio. Staff at desk was great.! Breakfast and pool was amazing. The room it self was spacious and comfortable.

This was a leisure trip with my son. We stay at this particular location all the time. Great location and prices! We enjoy the free breakfast and the indoor pool. The staff is friendly and the rooms are always clean.

In short, my confirmation showed $129, my bill was $259. One night stay, no extras. If I hadn't been paying attention they never would have said anything. Took no time charging my account. I doubt the refund will occur as quickly.

This place is great. Quiet halls. Balcony for fresh air. Room are large and appear very clean. Staff makes certain they answer any concerns promptly. All staff is helpful. Front desk, kitchen, environmental techs are all willing to assist you immediately.

Came here during the winter storm to stay warm. Hotel was ok. Power did go out one day which was no fault of theirs. Because of this the breakfast was not available for the first week due to shipment issues. We had no working fridge our first week. The price was more than the website quoted for second week stay but had no real choice since thanks to the aftermath of storm, hotel options are limited. The one thing that annoyed us the most is the disregard of the mask rule. Every morning in the common area there are families with no masks and they say nothing. I've lost far too many people in my life the last year to covid and to see that was alarming.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. We were greeted with great service! COVID protocols were set in place & made out stay a safe one! The pool, workout room, and breakfast were all provided with COVID guidelines in place. The breakfast was a huge perk! The hotel room was clean, spacious, and included all the needed amenities. Parking is free as well. One of our best stays ever!

We stay there every year during the stock show. I love the alert front desk staff. Safe parking, clean rooms, and go out of their way to get what you need! Many friends have had vehicles stolen while in town and this hotel has procedures set up to insure the safety while you are there.

I really enjoyed the service and stressless time with Best Western Alamo Suites. Big recognition to Rebecca Cardona (Front Office Supervisor) who made the stay even more pleasant and memorable. Rebecca is a huge asset of the company and go above and beyond, this deserves these kudos. I will be making sure that all my friends/partners who are looking for similar location hotels stop only here when visiting San Antonio.

We loved the spacious, clean room. We didn't like that there was no in-room coffee, though coffee was available in the lobby. Take-away breakfast choices were limited but ok. Wifi access was just so-so. Great location right by the highway but a five-minute drive to the riverwalk, and surprisingly quiet being so close to the interstate.

The hotel was clean but the area was a little rough. The lobby was clean and the rooms were nice. The pool and hot tub looked dirty so we avoided them. We stayed 6 nights and could only get the room cleaned once after complaining.We could not get towels without multiple calls to the front desk. People were smoking pot close to our room on the 3rd floor, you could smell it outside and very strong on our floor, the manager said he could not smell it. We will definitely not stay there again. I was very disappointed. I tried to address issues with front desk but they didn't seem interested.

Hotel room was nice. location was not convenient to attractions and hard to get to. Not on a main street. Parking was awful. Staff was very helpful and friendly and rooms were nice and very clean. Breakfast was fine considering Covid but was not kept stocked very well.

We checked in to find this hotel was spotless clean from the entrance, lobby, elevator to the detail of the room. We were very happy by all of the services provided here and felt like it was catered to our needs. We highly suggest to stay here for affordable prices.

The room was dusty and smelled like smoke (even tho it was a non smoking room) I had to wipe and clean everything w my own Clorox wipes. Foe the money paid, we could have been in a breed location. This property is not within walking distance of any thing.

Honestly the only good thing about this hotel are the people at the front desk, they are very friendly and try to accommodate your every need. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. When we arrived check in was very fast and staff was extremely nice. When we arrived to our room I checked the bathroom to see how everything was working and the toilet was dirty. Was maybe thinking that maybe it was residue from a cleaning product but that didn't make me feel even better. It seemed like they just spray the toilet and don't even wipe it down. There was hairs all over and the seat. Called the front desk to let them know and they were willing to switch me rooms but I denied because I had already cleaned the toilet seat myself and saw no need because everything in the room seemed fine. After coming back to the hotel after a nice stroll at the river walk we found a bedbug on the bed. Called the front desk immediately and was offered another room and was pleasantly surprised to see that this room was an upgrade (at no charge) to the one we had before since it had two king beds. This room the bathroom was still not to my expectations, had to give it a wipe down. Sheets looked very old and used, found dead insects on the sheets and hairs from the previous guests. My daughter who is three found an already used baggy of what I'm pretty sure was cocoaine under one of the beds. Extremely dissatisfied with the housekeeping of this hotel.

My wife and I had made plans to visit Lafayette, Louisiana for two nights. However Hurricane Delta made that impossible so we stayed the two nights in San Antonio instead. Although we would rather have stayed a bit closer to River Walk, this hotel included free parking and costs about one third of even the least expensive of the more centrally located establishments. The River Walk was about a twenty minute walk and the Alamo was about half an hour. As we drove the first two and a half days non-stop from California, we welcomed the exercise and the savings. The hotel is very clean and included a limited breakfast due to Covid-19. There is an exercise room and indoor pool & hot tub that can only be used by one group (up to four) at a time. The bad news is that there are no restaurants close by. Market Square is about a fifteen minute walk straight north with its excellent Mexican restaurant Mi Tierra, but expect a wait on busy evenings.

The music was so loud in lobby that I couldn't hear desk person. I took clorax wipes and cleaned everything even furniture. Sliding door didn't close or lock. Had a stick stuck in door jam. My car was broken into so be careful.

Clean hotel/disappointing breakfast Room-room was clean and a nice size for our family of five. Small fridge and microwave are in the room. Looks like there may have been a small coffee maker at one time, but not now. Breakfast-I was disappointed. I understand that COVID messes up things a bit, but all they had were some bananas, cold cereal, yogurt, granola bar and oatmeal packets. We have stayed at other BW and enjoyed the breakfasts. It was disappointing to have to go out and buy breakfast. Location-this is about a 20 minute walk to the Riverwalk-we decided to drive. 20 minutes is not bad, but in the heat and humidity, we decided driving was better. Overall, it was fine-free parking is nice, but remember you may need to go buy breakfast so weigh your options regarding hotels that charge for parking and those that don't.

This is a nice hotel that was renovated several years ago. I don't stay at it much but like it. The brand is my preferred. The room was nice and comfortable. The property was clean. The indoor pool and breakfast area were unavailable due to the virus that is going around the world. A grab and go breakfast SNACK was all that was available; it had no hot item.

Had bugs in 2 rooms make sure you check beds before laying down. They gave me another room when I went in room had bugs, went to another same thing. It was late at night and couldn't get another hotel. After they gave me another room it was better.

Older couple on an extended road trip, first time in San Antonio. The hotel offeered a clean, quiet, comfortable space. The surrounding area is going through a bit of a renewal, but walking to and from downtown was not an anxious time. Ample parking, busy buffet breakfast. Staff was very helpful with suggestions and directions.

The motel is not too far from the center and has good bus connections. The rooms are large, comfortable and well equipped. Our room had a nice view of the downtown skyline. The breakfast was just fair. Front desk and housekeeping staff were helpful. No morning newspaper was provided. I would stay here again.

Our stay was very comfortable and very affordable. Our room was clean and ready for our arrival. Our room had a double bed, sofa, microwave, and fridge. Had we been staying longer, those items would've been more beneficial to us. All of the staff we encountered were so friendly. This location does state it's downtown. It is a but further out. It's not in the heart of downtown in case you were looking to stay by the River Walk.

We stayed for 6 nights and couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience. Staff was very helpful throughout. View of downtown was beautiful. Also very close to downtown which was very convenient for us.

The hotel overall was perfect! Our room was beautiful and so comfortable. Even had a balcony which was awesome! My girls enjoyed it! The staff was great and helped alot, the rooms got cleaned the next day we checked in. The location was perfect, just a little walk to the Riverwalk and market square. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back for another stay!

Very nice place to stay. It was very clean. Everyone was very helpful and courteous. Breakfast was well presented and lots of choices. Would recommend it to anyone. It was well equipped for wheel chair access.

We had a very pleasant stay. About a twenty minute walk to the River Walk and Alamo. I don't think I'd like to walk it at night. Daytime is perfectlly fine. The usual BW breakfast with evrything you'd expect. All rooms have king beds, one, two, or even three. Great.

I picked this hotel for the free parking and breakfast. Rooms were nice and comfy. Shower pressure fantastic. I wish the bathroom door would stay open but it automatically shuts. I solved this by placing garbage pail between the door. Breakfast was okay. The milk doesn't stay cold in the silver carafes. Ice water should be provided but water is from water fountain and you need to get your water from the fountain. It was fine but it would be nice to have water near the food. Location is far from downtown and river walk area unless you like to walk. It was fine for us but others may not want to walk 3+ miles round trip. You could drive but you'll have to pay for parking. The area around hotel is lit and fine for walking but some may not feel safe as it has empty storefronts and warehouse and some of the streets getting to downtown are desolate. There is a pizza hut down the street which was a plus and an heb 3 minutes drive away. Overall this was a good stay and priced right.

This was my first time to stayed at this hotel it is so beautiful and extremely nice and comfortable I could not have had a better experience or value the room was basic king size however everything had an extra touch that makes the quality stand stand out Rebecca was awesome she went out of her way for anything that I need it if I had a question she had the answer.

Best Western Alamo was a great experience, quick check in by efficient, friendly staff. Nice, clean and comfortable room and a good breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel for it's overall value as well as proximity to the "happening part" of San Antonio.

This hotel is just a mile away from the River walk. It has an indoor pool, so good at any time of the year. The staff is friendly. It has clean and spacious rooms. You get what you pay for. Breakfast was good.

PROs - semi central location, free parking, free breakfast tasted good, big rooms, price CONs - slow check-in, dog kennel nearby (noise), didn't seem to be the safest area, breakfast area was too small, not enough parking spaces, older rooms, Bottom Line - Average, will probably stay elsewhere next time in San Antonio

If you don't mind being away from the river walk, this property is great. Very clean,quiet, and safe. Beds are super comfortable for a great night sleep. And the money you saved on the room can go towards more fun adventures and cheer. I personally felt the location was perfect and convienient to getting to other areas around town including the river walk. Enjoy and Remember the Alamo!!!

This is not my first- nor will it be my last stay here at Best Western Alamo Suites. The staff is very friendly and helpful every time I have made reservations. The rooms are very nice and always very clean with plenty of towels. The bed sheets are soft and of course clean. The beds are comfortable. Each of the rooms i have stayed in must be insulated that I don't here much from others in their rooms or from the hallway traffic. My kids have enjoyed their clean indoor pool and hot tub. Which is always great for kids to get all their energy out before calling it a day. The housekeeping staff always greats us and ask if there is anything we need they will get it for us. Finally, best of all, great prices for a great place to stay with a continental breakfast every morning. This location is very close to downtown SA. Probably a $7 Uber ride to the San Antonio Riverwalk or The Alamo. I have referred Best Western Alamo to friends and family and they too have been very pleased with their stay. Thanks Best Western!!! The room was great and very spacious. I loved this hotel! When i checked in all the staff was very nice and welcoming! I would like to compliment Celestina from breakfast for her hard work! She always has a great smile!

The hotel was not far from market square and not very far from the river walk. Great price considering we stayed on a weekend of a big event. Staff was great and helpful on recommendations for restaurants and places to go. No issues would recommend this hotel.

Flew into San Antonio and stayed 3 nights at this hotel before leaving for South Padre Island and then stayed 2 nights after a week at the beach . Great stays with amazing staff at the front desk (Rebecca, Sandy and Ximena ) and a delightful hard working woman named Celestina at the continental breakfast... which by the way was delicious and the area was well cared for . All staff were helpful and attentive to our questions and needs . Rooms were comfortable and very clean . Location was a block from San Antonios extremely user friendly and inexpensive bus line . Easy to take to the River Walk for less than $2.00 a day.. unlimited rides ! General manager Kenil Patel needs to be commended for his staff and facility . Will most definitely come back if we return to this wonderful city .

My Dad went to San Antonio as a young man, back in the early 1950"s. My dream was to take my family, & re-create that picture. Unfortunately, that portion of the wall no longer exist, but the memories of this trip will. Thanks to Best Western for being a part of making it possible.

I wasn't sure what to expect when my business partner booked me this room. At the rate we were being charged I thought it was going to be scary. I was wrong. The Hotel is clean. The rooms are big, more like a suite. And the staff was so friendly and accommodating, really the best I have seen at a Hotel at this price.

I did the advance check-in and all went just fine. my reservation and check-in went just fine. no problems at all. the handicap room was on the first floor near the office. i hate wasting time being forced to use 200 letters to write this. breakfast was good with no problems.

We arrived late after 600 miles on our motorcycles in 90 degree heat and the young lady at the front desk was so pleasant and accommodating, both at check in and during our 2 day stay. BW has some great team members and this hotel was no different. Her name began with an'X', sorry I can't remember it. This place isn't stacked up to other motels but once there you feel safe.

I've stayed here several times over the last two months for extended periods of time and have had no issues. I'm a night owl and sleep late and frequently ask for house keeping in the afternoon, never goten a complaint or a no. Staff bend over backwards to help you.

We picked this hotel as hotels downtown charged $25+ for parking. The area the hotel is in feels a little shady but actually it was fine. We felt safe and the hotel was clean and the room was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful in terms of directions to the RiverWalk area. We chose to drive to downtown instead of walk as it was a mile plus. Could have walked but would have been coming home later at night. Parking is everywhere but all the lots charge a lot as downtown is a tourist spot. We didn't use the hotel pool or fitness but did walk by them and they were adequate.

We chose this hotel for proximity to downtown San Antonio and parking. Good location if you have a car to get into downtown, but on one of the three nights we stayed, there were not enough parking spaces for guests staying at the hotel. A bunch of cars were parked in a fire lane as directed by hotel staff. Room was clean and comfortable and staff was friendly. The area was ok, but the front desk being locked between certain hours was a little off-putting. There's also a doggy day care across the street which was noisy. We were up early enough that it didn't bother us. Wouldn't stay again due to parking issues.

We were in San Antonio for the day and decided we did not want to leave early to get home. We found this hotel for a great price and it looked comfortable. It was a relaxing stay after a long day of walking and shopping.

We chose this hotel over another one priced the same that was slightly closer to the River Walk only a block away from this one, and that turned out to be a mistake. This Best Western had barking dogs nearby disturbing our sleep, which normally would be no concern, but our “Constant Fan” function on the A/C was not working, so no white noise. We asked for a room upgrade when checking in only to be told, “Yes we have 2 different room upgrades available, but they won't let me do it…” Ok? Other than that, the room was clean, area was generally safe, and the staff were nice.

Don't be fooled by the pictures. It looked nice enough but it was run down, front room was not air conditioned. The air conditioner in the bedroom was loud. Not a nice neighborhood, lots of city noises. I wouldn't stay there again

Too noisy and the outside surrounding area was not great although the grounds was ok. Pool area left a lot to be desired. My granddaughters wouldn't even use the pool. My keys wouldn't work most of the time. Breakfast was good but line wait was long.

Clean and well kept hotel. Staff were very friendly and outgoing. Room had king bed with sofa bed. It was plenty big and was clean. Everything was refreshed each day. Breakfast was excellent. They had fruit, yogurt, muffins, bagels, waffels, scrambled eggs each day. Each day they would have either biscuits and gravy or sausage patties. Parking is in the back mostly and was very full most nights. We plan to stay here again next time that we are in San Antonio.

I was kinda worried about this place since it is very cheap rate...but it turned out very good. We will stay again.....Location is really good. There is McDonald's near by for late night meal after visiting all downtown spots. Yes, there is a doggie care place across street but we never heard dogs when we were inside. Breakfast was very busy both mornings. Get there early. All personnel very friendly and helpful. We will stay again.

Location is great, foot was great and the rooms were great. There is an inside pool that was fun. Indoor gym was also good. The staff was nice and the managers very helpful. Over all a great experience.

We rented a room at an inn about 7 minutes from this hotel, it was the absolute worst experience and non-refundable. Spent another 80 to get another room for the same night and this was absolutely the best decision!! We love best western but this made our trip 10x better. Quick check in, nice and spacious room with plenty of amenities, great service, and an indoor pool/hot tub was a nice touch. Thank you best western!

The hotel was a nice hotel. The rooms were a good size, the hotel smelled great! The only downside is the breakfast . I had their eggs and they were the worst eggs I've ever tasted. If you dont mind that, then the rest is very pleasant. Very nice and helpful staff. The beds could be spaced a little further from the a/c units in my opinion. It did hit me directly in the face .

Though the hotel external appearance resembles a high class motel, amenities inside is really equal to a 3 star hotel. Uninterrupted WiFi, free breakfast with lot of items, good size pool, hot tub, drinking water fountain (bottle filling), free parking, close to downtown (less than 10 min), good security, and courteous service staff. Huge TV with lot of free channels including AMC and ESPN sports, spacious room with good functioning HVAC.

Nice hotel for the price, location & convenience. We used it as the hub back & forth to planned birthday events. Did not use amenities except breakfast. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Air conditioner a little different to manipulate but it worked great.

My advice to anyone who is looking at reviews to book always go best western route never a sure stay route! It is a clean motel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is good although the eating area can get a little crowed. My only complaint is that it is a little far away from the River Walk area. But there is nothing they can do about that. Over all it is good place to stay for the price.

Upon arrival the location was not what we expected. My husband checked out the lobby and room and found them to be just fine so we stayed and we are now happy that we did. The location turned out to be just fine. Easy access to the highway and close enough to downtown to get there easily but not jammed into the traffic and congestion of the center. The entire hotel was immaculate and the staff was friendly and responsive to any needs. Fee parking, free breakfast and very well kept hotel and rooms. Happy we stayed!

Very impressed with the room set up at this hotel. We were staying with another couple and the hotel offers a very roomy, suite type room that had a king bed downstairs and an upstairs loft king bed with half bath. I have never seen this in a Best Western before. The set up was ideal and allowed for just as much privacy as two separate rooms at a much more affordable price. It is conveniently located to downtown, we walked from the hotel to the Riverwalk and Alamo areas with no problem. They have a secure parking area which is included. This was a nice bonus as many downtown hotels charge additional fees for parking. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They had a nice gym area my only drawback with that was that the location was in the main lobby and put you on full view of all those having breakfast. Breakfast was standard but good and my group loved the Texas shaped waffles! They had a pool and hot tub that seemed clean and busy with many guests. Would definitely stay again.

clean, affordable, quiet, stay there often. easy to find good Mexican food nearby, easy for shopping, good parking. older facility but new Mexico style is unique and comfortable. have stayed many times, only problem once WiFi down, but they have fixed that problem. no elevator to second floor rooms.

This hotel is not in a safe part of town. It is next to the highway, but not close to any tourist attraction. Staff seem polite, but if you pay a penny over $50 a night you are getting ripped off. Small pool and minscule gym.

The access is tricky winding around under the elevated Interstate. Parking is tight, most nights the fire lane was full of parked cars. A few dedicated parking bays for the disabled including one near the entrance for those at the rear the rear door is on to a flight of stairs! The copious signs warn about removing valuables and locking - not a good welcome. Staff on Reception were of variable quality. On arrival we were served by the General Manager. I mentioned that I had paid for our stay during August 2018 because of the deteriorating exchange rate. He said that I had not. This issue was not resolved during our four night stay. Our 'suite' consisted of a Kitchenette, Bathroom, Sitting Area (from which it was difficult to see the TV which was on the wall to suit the beds) and the Bedroom. We immediately noticed two rips in one of the two settee cushions. Everything looked shabby. The bathroom was compact but well laid out, plenty of rails and a hinged down seat over the bath, no storage space. Individual toiletries. Breakfast worse than average. The only hot item was scrambled egg, there were two waffle makers. The one redeeming feature was the plenitude of fresh fruit. The indoor heated pool was very popular after 15-00 hrs each day. Upholstered chairs were around it. Our stay was during a school holiday and the hotel was full with very noisy families. The noise did not stop at 22-00 hrs it seemed to go on all night. During the day it was augmented by the chambermaids shouting at each other. This old hotel has very little material built into it to suppress noise. My wife spent one day in bed, she described the experience as 'bedlam' even thought requests were made to keep the noise down. This hotel is about two miles from the City centre in a very run-down area. I felt safe walking around.

Clean, fast and friendly service, great indoor pool that the grand daughter literally lived in. Always a smiling face at the front and very nice about directions and things to do. Will definitely use this location many more times. Thank you Best Western for the ultimate stay!

The rooms are nice and cozy with a high-quality ambiance. We loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Our kids wanted to come back to the hotel early both nights we were there so they could go to the pool. All of the staff were professional and friendly.

Our check-in & check-out went well. The hotel had a peachy scent which was pleasant. Location was within 5 to 7 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Indoor pool and jacuzzi! YAY! We'll return when visiting SA.

No, you are not on the Riverwalk, but this very clean and nice hotel has a more modest price than the ones by the Riverwalk. It was a $15 - $18 Uber ride from airport. We took Uber to Riverwalk area every day. They have great breakfasts, complimentary, and friendly staff. 24 hour coffee! Our room was very spacious, with a sitting area. Great stay!

I was so glad to have stayed at this hotel and it was easy to book it. I made a mistake and booked one night and best western booked my other night there. They were so helpful . No hassle , great stay there

Just your average hotel nothing special. There is a pet hotel across the road so there is a lot of dog barking. About 15 minutes to downtown walking. And not a lot directly around the hotel. Good for what it is for

Rooms are spacious. Furniture was a little worn. Service was great. A little more than a twenty minute walk to the Riverwalk. If you need directions ask the front desk. The printout they gave us was more direct than our GPS.

Seems this used to be a smoking hotel and proper measures were not taken to abate this history. Instead they use heavily scented cleaning solutions and deodorants to mask the still-detectable odor. No one in my family is particularly sensitive to artificial deodorizers, but 2/3 of us woke up feeling "puffy" with irritated nasal passages and burning eyes.

The stay in itself was great as usual; however the receptionist named Sarah with lack of not only customer service skills, but also people skills could turn a score of a 5 to a 0. It's not the message you deliver, but it is in how you deliver the message.

This place is a reasonable walk to the riverwalk area, but the immediate area is a little run down. The breakfast in the morning was fair, but on the weekend the locusts trashed the place. The maid forgot to replace our bath towels one day, so I had to go down to the front desk at 5:00 am to get towels. The room was clean and comfortable, but if I ever go to San Antonio again, I will stay somewhere else next time.

The hotel was good value for money though the location is about 20 minutes walk from the riverwalk and alamo. The name "Alamo Suites": is a bit misleading. The rooms are good and the staff very friendly. However, we were there for the thanksgiving weekend and the breakfast simply did not last beyond 8:30 (normal timings are 6 to 10 am). Most of the food ran out by 8:30.

The Best Western Alamo Suites is reasonably priced and is at least a third to a half less cost than the overpriced downtown hotels that back up to San Antonio's River Walk or are within a block or so from the Alamo. This Best Western property is quiet, has well-appointed rooms, a VERY friendly staff (free freshly baked cookies and coffee at the reception desk), free parking, and is downtown with an excellent buffet breakfast. The hotel is not within an easy walk to the Alamo or San Antonio's famous River Walk unless you are into walking more than a few city blocks, but the distance is very close to everything by auto including easy access to interstate ramps, and major highways. While we did not use the indoor pool, we thought about it just as we did the well appointed fitness center. Both were inviting. This is a VERY nice hotel which had been beautifully remodeled. I could not tell for certain whether or not the hotel was recently constructed and had to ask. Best Western Alamo Suites is a highly recommended hotel within the parameter's noted.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location of the hotel is good. Walking in the room it seemed ok. But sitting at the desk in the room.. the walls had food splats on them. Our lock on the bathroom door was broke so It wouldn't lock. The bed and couch bed mattress needs to be replaced or flipped because the head of the mattresses dip down while the feet of the beds are raised. This hotel is ok but not the best place we have stayed at while visiting San Antonio. Just thought we would try it out since it has an indoor pool. Probably won't be a first, second or third pick of a place to stay when coming back to San Antonio.

This was the best place, hands down, for the money to stay in the river walk area while visiting San Antonio. A great breakfast, fitness area, pool, and room to complete our stay. No negatives to mention!

Nice hotel located just south of downtown San Antonio, walk to the Riverwalk or the VIA Bus stop was only a short walk away. Close to I-10 and a supermarket, the area was a little rundown but very manageable if walking.

Came on a business trip and was very disappointed at my stay at this BW location. I felt like I was misled by the previous good reviews. The lack of cleanliness (as pictured) of the bedding, furniture and curtains was unacceptable. We also arrived as another customer was complaining about the indescribable smell of his room. Which, I can agree, smells like a great attempt of covering up a smoke musk smell. On a positive note, I was upgraded upon arrival for being a rewards member. It's a short Lyft/Uber ride to the Riverwalk — about $12 round trip. The beds are also huge and comfortable. I just couldn't get past the lack of cleanliness. Got the rate of $119 a night; not worth the money. Would not stay here again on my next trip to SA.

Very clean. Very helpful staff. Nothing they won't do for you. We will return. Pool is clean and good hours. Breakfast is as expected. We had a light switch worked improperly. They fixed it within an hour.

Overall a great place to stay. Great deal for your money. I reserved a 3 king suite for my family of 5 for only $118 per night. Can't find that anywhere else in San Antonio, and the hotel is only within walking distance to the River walk.

I went to the lobby to work on my laptop. A man asked where the front attendant was. He had been waiting there 20 minutes waiting to check in. He continued to wait, while I was working, for another 20 minutes. No one. I tried to help him by looking around. No one. Called hotel number and pager number on card in lobby. Nothing. I found the BW customer service number for him and he called. He explained he has been waiting for 60 minutes now (I also got on to verify because they didn't seem to believe him). They opened a "case" and said they couldn't reach the manager or anyone there. After an 90 minutes, two young ladies come from the hotel and instead of apologizing, they gave him a hard time (because he was obviously upset). Unbelievable. The next day I asked the front desk if the manager (who wasn't there) could give me a call. Nothing. I fear for the customers who stay here. Some of the employees have zero respect for their customers, for their management, or the reputation of BW. That individual deserved better.

I can't give this place enough stars!!! They really made us feel at home. We are on a Freewheeler trike traveling. They allowed us to park by the front door and even put up a barrier around the bike. Not many Freewheelers on the road so it does draw a crowd on occasion. Sarah made sure we had a nice cab to the river walk and was very helpful. It was very refreshing to be treated so great.

We stayed for a couple of nights. The room is very nice. As others have said there is not much of a view, but it is close to downtown. The price was a little high. As I was saying the room is a good size room and the bed was comfortable but not as soft as we like. The breakfast is okay, they have pretty much the standard. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The Hotel and facilities were as we come to expect from Best Western.Good size rooms with very good facilities. Location is not close to Alamo, be sure to check location suites you before booking. We walked to the River Walk area Downtown from Hotel, along the banks of the river, very pleasant, takes about 45 minutes . To get around if no car, try the local bus service, very cheap and gets you where you want , one bus stops about 100 yards from Hotel and will get you Downtown. Overall recommend this Hotel.

Let me start with I usually do not stay in Best Westerns but this one is unique!! I have a family of four. Part of our vacation is no one wants to sleep with anyone on pull out couches, etc. When I was trying to put this trip together. I found the prices for staying downtown to be very high and just wouldn't accommodate our bed needs. Then I found this hotel. They have rooms that have three King beds. I have only seen this once before. However, it was a Best Western. There is one slightly negative issue is it's location. It is in an industrial park area near downtown, but there are other hotels in the same area. My point is that you are not going to have a bunch of beautiful views. The checking process was great. The staff is well trained and very accommodating. They definitely understand customer service. I told you about the location but here is the other positive about the location. It is only 1 to 2 miles from everything in downtown San Antonio. You are literally 5 to 10 minutes from everything, without paying the high prices of being downtown. The room were very big and clean. In all of my years of writing review I have never mentioned about a hotel's shampoo. They have the best shampoo that I have ever used. It smells like a vanilla candle. While you are there grab as many as you can. Here is also something that I have never seen before. This hotel is all about communication with their guests. When housekeeping comes and you are still inside your room they slide a note under your door to acknowledge that they were there but was unable to service your room. They ask that you call the front desk so they can service your room while you are gone. The second thing is that they have maintenance cards in the room for you that if there is anything that needs repaired please drop the card off at the front desk. I had minor issue and want to test the process to see if it actually got addresses while were there. The very minor issue that I addressed earlier in the day was resolved by the time when we got back. This is an excellent hotel. A great value for your money and definitely would stay here again. I think the GM is Ken Patel and he is doing a fantastic job.

Rooms are nice and clean ,only thing they need to work on a little bit more its the pool, location its good with gated parking lot ,restrooms are always clean the balcony on second and third floor is a nice detail

I chose to give this hotel 2 stars, or a grade of "D" because they have much to work on. The staff are friendly and attentive, but the amenities need improvement. Our hotel room curtains had multiple holes in them that looked like bullet holes, the breakfast area is very small and could not accommodate all the guests. In fact, my children could not walk around the breakfast area because it was so crowded. Also, the hotel entrance and breakfast areas are literally right next to each other; so, if either area is crowded, it's hard to walk around. The front entrance is not at all welcoming or easy to find. It's a swinging door under an awning. That's it. No character or creativity. Now, to their credit, the hotel staff listened to my concerns and responded promptly. Still, if you have the budget for a bigger hotel closer to downtown San Antonio, I would definitely consider those options as an alternative while this hotel makes some much-needed adjustments.

The room was amazing!!!!! It was so much more than I expected. My fiance and I booked the spa tub suite with one queen sized bedroom and a king sized bedroom. It was so huge and the bathroom was way above expectations. Huge bathroom, beautiful hot tub, huge shower, private separate toilet area away from the shower and tub. All staff was so helpful and polite. We will definitely be coming back here!

The amenity that swayed us to choose this location was free, accessible parking. Pricing was acceptable, except Friday night. Fairly close to downtown activities and restaurants. We were able to get room next door to our friends.

Let's just say when stay here your going to love the soft beds, the unique sink in the bath room, Texas shaped waffles (my favorite). Its completely smoke free so you have smoke outside. My room came with balcony on the 3rd floor. The downside is the workout room closes at 10pm so I had to run the steps to get my workout done. Other than that this is 10 star hotel with nice employees.

We will remember the BW Alamo because of the excellent service we received. The receptionist was very helpful with recommending a BBQ place. Very clean. The room was perfect. Would stay there again!!!

Good location, not far from down town. Front desk was helpful when checking us in. Breakfast could have been better, the food was pretty much gone when we got there at 8:30 and it didn't look like it was being restocked.

Cons. Hotel did not accurately represent itself. It was significantly overpriced and had a 4 day minimum due to the concurrent NCAA Final Four. Room was musty. Floor had uneven spots under the carpet. The stairwells were so smelly we avoided using them. Pros. Did have free parking. It was a long walk from the Riverwalk.

We thought we were booking a nice motel. Our room looked nothing like the photos posted on the booking site. Mattress is uncomfortable. Bedding was dirty. Large mirror was not mounted to wall...just leaning against it where it might fall on a guest. Located in a terrible neighborhood. Pool and hot tub are dirty/cloudy water. Don't waste your money here.

The hotel staff were very friendly, the interior and exterior of the hotel is well maintained. The location is close to the San Antonio River walk and Alamo, but the hotel is in an industrial area, so we opted to drive to the River Walk and Alamo opposed to walk. The room was clean with plenty of open space.

We always enjoy the staff, cleanliness, rooms and location of hotel being just 5 blocks from market square and not too far from riverwalk. Parking area is a bit crowded/confusing and continental breakfast could have a better selection of hot breakfast and fresh fruit. The children always enjoy the indoor pool in case the weather is cold/rainy.

First room they gave us had spots on walls, wholes and hair everywhere and reeked of something horrid and the 2nd room had luke warm water at its hottest and ants... worst hotel I've been to ever in my life

Booked this room due to its proximity to the River Walk, Alamo and highway access. Our first impression was the area seemed a little sketch, further confirmed by parking lot signs to lock your car and leave nothing inside. The parking lot was completely fenced in except for enterance by front lobby. Once inside we found the interior very tastfully decorated. Front desk staff was friendly and accomodating. We arrived hours before check in and there were no rooms ready. We were accomodated with baggage check and free parking so we could start exploring the area. We walked to the river walk and Alamo following the directions and map provided by front desk staff. Wirjin a block of the hotel we were in well traveled tourist hotel area. Our room was very nice. There was a guest laundry area $1.50 for washer and $1.50 for dryer. Breakfast was very good,included hot and cold options. This hotel was an unexpected gem. Also very good price. I would definitely book there again. We were glad to have a room out of the high traffic area and easy to get back on the highway ro continue our road trip

Checked into a room that wasn't up to standard according to the hotel so we were moved to another (upgraded) room with lots of help and a few toss-ins. Overall I was very impressed with the service we received during this time not to mention the better than average breakfast and great location in terms of proximity to tourist sites. Kudos to the manager there (Kenil Patel) for exceptional service.

Very nice hotel. Clean rooms, efficient and friendly staff. Would have given 5 star except for internet. It is not secured and my device warned against signing on. My husband enjoyed the gym. Even though it is small he had a good work out. Fresh coffee available all day, we loved that! Hotel being on a one way street was sometimes aggravating. For the price, it was an excellent choice for us!

I wouldn't say it's close to Riverwalk, we chose not to do the walk. But as others said it was clean, bed was comfortable and haven't tried breakfast yet. We did find great pizza place just few blocks away, ll forno's. Does have workout area with free weights.

The hotel is very clean, the staff are very polite and the value for money is extremely good for this location. Everything was just excellent. Nothing to compain, satisfaction guarenteed: from check-in to check-out. Even the staff who cleaned the rooms were very courteous.

This is a very nice Hotel. the rooms are clean and quite. in addition the Breakfast is very good and there are several restaurants in the area. but, if you don't want to get out there are good restaurants that deliver.

This hotel was an average BW. It was good. I only stat at BW's and this one: the breakfast was good, the service and hospitality was good, it wasn't anything special though. No issues and would stay again if in the area..

The room was clean, the breakfast had plenty of choices, the staff was friendly, and the price was affordable. The Alamo & Riverwalk were only about 1 to 1 1/2 miles from the hotel which we walked to with no problem.

This hotel is dated. It was not very clean, the hallway had a terrible smell. The carpet needs to be cleaned or replaced; however, the price was good for the location. The king size beds were a plus for the double beds. The staff was very friendly and professional. They did raise their rates for Friday night stating because it was Black Friday.

We had 7 people in our group of family/friends including 2 small kids. Our room was actually a 2 room suite - 3 queen size beds and a pullout. Some people might note that the hotel location seems a little sketchy, but we found it to be handy enough without a large pricetag. The breakfast had the usual hot and cold items, although they run out quickly. After toasting my bagel, I noticed they had no cream cheese. After reporting it, it took them a long time to replenish other items, but they totally ran out of cream cheese. The staff person did the best she could with what she had though. Something you should know...parking is in the back. Unload using a cart if you have a lot of luggage, etc. at the front after checking in. You cannot go in the rear door with the cart because of steps. If you elect to unload after parking in the rear, you'll have to carry all items up the 3-4 steps or push the cart down the narrow driveway back to the front/side entrance. Indoor pool and hot tub is open year round.

Horrible Guest service received by a Manager. Sarah Huerta showed no respect for me or my children. She insisted on arguing with me and did not show or express empathy or respect to how her choice and tone of voice she expressed to me over the phone let alone in person. She did not want me to explain how her rudeness and disrespectful behavior towards me and my family was unacceptable. She cut me off and stated to use the complaint card provided and that she was ending the conversation and did not want to speak to me anymore. If she thought her demmining, callous, and disrespectful behavior was a conversation, then Best Western has the worst Quality of customer service their employees are required to treat their guests. I was having a great time with my family and trying to relax in the Jacuzzi, on our second night at this hotel. I enjoyed my first night, but tonight after my encounter with Sarah, I felt very unhappy. I had an anxiety attack later after trying to speak to this manager. She became defensive, rude, and belittled my family and I. I expected to have a relaxing and stress free stay at this hotel, especially since dealing with a death in the family, having to spend my first holiday without my love one, Not having to deal with Best Western's Manager Sarah Huerta. Housekeeping, other staff were polite and friendly. You should have this manager take a customer service class to show her how she should treat a guest. My family and I will never use Best Western again. Respectfully and disappointed!

Walking distance to RiverWalk, and the Alamo. Very spacious 2 level suite with 2 king beds, 2 baths. Best selection for breakfast ever! Pool and hot tub were great and staff very accommodating We would stay again. .

The location of this property is not ideal. Very industrial, beside freeway. You would need to drive to the Alamo or any restaurants. Rooms were clean and beds really comfortable. Breakfast okay but all high fat, high sugar. Thankfully fruit offered.

Very rude front desk and nasty stains on sheets even after requesting new sheets they to were stained, every thing else was great and location was on point and only a few blocks from river walk and other attractions

Three quarters of a mile from the Riverwalk. It is close enough to walk to most places and if you get the Rio Taxi ($16 for one day drop offs and pick ups at stations throughout the Riverwalk area) you can get every where. The hotel itsellf is a half block from gentrification. Walk a bumpy sidewalk for half a block and you are to the wide walks of the area. Beds are comfortable and the place is clean and attractive. (Qualification: the sofa-bed in our room was an uncomfortable sit). WiFi is easy to access, good TV, indoor swimming pool.

The only recommendation I have for this place is..... if you have a few minutes stop by and give the evening and late night staff a hard time. The lowest and loosest hotel staff in the in the entire SA area

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bed very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with hot and cold items to eat. If you get downstairs after 9:30 a.m. not a lot of selelction. This is an older hotel right off the interstate but has been maintained well.

A great place to stay, easy to find, situated right by the freeway. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. Quick and efficient service, central location made it easy to get to the places we planned on visiting. Close to great restaurants and bars. The desk staff were helpful in making and checking reservations at BW Hotels for the next few nights.

Room was clean and maintained every day of our stay, nothing special but standard hotel room and most importantly clean. A/C worked well and was much needed to battle the heat. Breakfast was good every morning with decent variety of healthy and tasty foods. Staff was friendly. Nice to have access to workout area and pool. We would stay here again.

Will not be going back because the staff didn't know how to help us after our daughter was attacked by a dog in the hallway. It was her birthday weekend and for something like this to happen was horrible

The employees were fantastic! The only problem I had was 2 rooms we had the acs weren't cooling right and they keep the thermastates locked up. The breakfast room is a little small. But it was a wonderful stay and will be back!!

This facility isn't easy to find unless you have a gps, but it's worth the effort. It's in an industrial type area, but has several security cameras. It has apparently been recently updated and looks nice. I was impressed by the cleanliness of what I saw of the facility, and the staff was helpful, polite, and well groomed. I would recommend this place to friends.

for the price this is excellent value, great staff and the inside is much nicer than it looks when you drive up. Compared to the hotels nearer the tourist areas it's half price. We took Uber to the various places we wanted to visit and it was perfect, much easier than dealing with parking and driving in unfamiliar areas so the location really isn't a problem. The room was very clean, looked like it had been fairly recently renovated with a newer bathroom including fixtures, just the sofa seemed a bit old but we didn't need/use that anyway

We just spent a week at this gem of a hotel and really enjoyed it. First of all, you can't beat the price...$57/night which includes the breakfast. Breakfast consists of Texas shaped waffles, sausage, eggs, toast, yogurt, cereal, etc. Breakfast room is not real big but was no problem while we were there. There is a pool, and an exercise room and although we did not use, they looked well cared for. This is also a small business center which is no more than a computer and printer, which we used with no problem. Hotel is located .7 miles from Market Square, and less than 1/2 mile from King William Historical District. Both are easily walkable, and some may be a bit concerned about walking in that area, we were not. It's mostly industrial, and we saw nothing alarming but it still pays to be careful. Hotel is also very close to the Via Cultural bus line on nearby Flores avenue which will take you to the Alamo in the downtown area. Hotel is also located very close to interstate so very easy to get to any point in the city from here. It was super hot when we were there and had the a/c on every night and heard no noises outside our room. This will be our go to place to stay on future San Antonio trips.

As usual I was very impressed with Best Western. From the time my room was booked until check out; everything was wonderful. Best Wedtern is always the first choice for my husband and myself. We get the comfort of a beautiful, clean, comfortable hotel without breaking the bank account!!

The hotel was priced right and a great location, near the Alamo and downtown San Antonio. My family stayed 3 nights during Christmas vacation. When we parked there, I noticed the parking lot had several places with crumbled glass. I thought nothing of this. My family and I also noticed, people, who looked aimless wondering thru the parking area, at all times of night. Our 3rd night we parked, around 1 am after an evening on the River Walk. We all felt a strange sensation of being watched. At 2 Am the front desk called, and told us our car had been broken into. Sure enough, the left driver window, had been smashed out, and a few items stolen. We called the police, and the officer, told us, she comes here every 3rd night. There are 3 hotels on South Laredo, and at least one of them, have a car broken into each night. I now realize, at night the hotel staff is afraid to go out. And they hole up in their office. That morning, we spoke to an elderly couple from Oklahoma, that told us their car was broken into and all their Christmas shopping was stolen. That day we took our Honda Pilot to have the glass replace. We discovered from the auto glass company that they replace 3 to 5 windows per day, from cars being broke into. Seems that the criminal culture, has found burglarizing cars is easier and more profitable, than robbing connivance stores. I will never stay in San Antonio again, unless the parking lot is secure. Side note, the pan handlers in San Antonio is so bad, my 21 year old daughter, states she will never go to San Antonio again.

Two of my brothers and I hit the road on our motorcycles for our annual road trip of 9 days. Out of the 3700 miles and 8 hotels this was by far the best night we had. The front office person Ximena was most of the resin our stay was great. We picked this hotel for two night due to location but got way more than we ask for. Ximena gave us great advice for food and entertainment in the town and was very knowledgeable. With three guys Ximena upgraded us to the King suite so that we all had a place to sleep comfortably. Thank you all for the 2 nights of great hospitality.

This location is not really good for Best Western's reputation. The hotel clerk was not friendly upon arrival. Parking not safe at this location and they stress that they are not responsible for loss or damage to your vehicle. The area just does not look safe. Our bathroom sink was clogged and when reported to clerk, nothing was done to fix it. There are much better BW Hotels in San Antonio than this one. No sitting area outside for smokers. Cheap motel atmosphere.

We enjoyed our stay and were satisfied with our experience. The hotel staff treated us with great hospitality. It is always great staying at Best Western. Their two bedroom suites were very helpful in accommodating our large group.

The whole hotel was better than it was advertised. the rooms were huge and had everything that was quoted in the ad. the price was excellent. the manager really gave his all to help my family find the rooms we needed. we had more than enough rooms for the whole weekend stay +100%. The food was great and plentiful, staff made us feel quite at home. I never knew Best Western could be quite beautiful to stay in.

While the hotel is located in a neighborhood that gives the impression that it is not safe; it is conveniently located to downtown and all tourist attractions. The staff were friendly and the food at breakfast was very good.

The check in process was very easy. The staff there was very helpful in answering any questions or concerns that we may have had. The manager was very helpful with trying to help us with Uber. It had easy excess on and off I-10 when we were first arriving or when we were leaving to return to Houston. I would stay there again if I were to return to San Antonio.

Thought we were getting a great deal, next time will spend a little extra money for a nicer hotel. There was so many maintenance problems, mirrors not attatched to walls, microwave on floor. Ac didnt work!

Love staying at this hotel when we visit San Antonio. It is a non smoking hotel but most rooms have a balcony. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and beds are super comfy. There is on site laundry.

We enjoyed the indoor pool,and fitness center. My suite was huge, quite a bargain for the price. The staff was quite friendly and helpful, the hotel is convenient to some good bestaurants with very reasonable prices. There were plenty of attraction brochures with discount coupons we used displayed in the lobby.

We spent three nights of our four night reservation. We needed to leave early because of a request by American Airlines to change are plans because of possible flight delays or cancellations due to weather on the east coast. It was very nice of the manger to not charge us for the fourth night even though we were not able to give the needed 24 hour notification. This hotel is maintained very well. All the corridors and our room looked like it was painted recently. Our bathroom also looked like it was recently remodeled. Everything was very clean. The rooms are very spacious with microwave, refrigerator and large flat screen tv. As said in some other reviews the lobby and breakfast area are one room and could be crowded so it pays to plan on an early breakfast. The food is certainly plentiful. It is about a mile to the center of town. We walked to town one day and it takes under 1/2 hour. This hotel is a very economical, clean and in a convenient location with free parking. It could use an exterior area to sit or lounge but while we were in San Antonio it was close to or above 100 degrees so it was not an issue. I would stay here again and recommend this location to others.

The title explains it all. I have stayed in at least 4 different types of hotels this year and the Best Western took the cake. Vast improvement from when I used to be employed at a BW. Great Job indeed!

I was on my way to Houston and I decided to spend the night in San Antonio. We stayed at the Best Western Alamo Suites, what a great service Best Western has, everyone very friendly and very professional.

Enjoyed our two night stay. Staff was excellent and rooms clean and comfortable. We liked the location which is a few blocks removed from the very touristy Downtown / Riverwalk area. We preferred this area with local bars and restaurants. The location is good and very accessible from the Interstate.

Small hotel; small reception and very small breakfast seating all in same area (not sectioned off!). Our room was big though with large bed, sofa, arm chair and kitchenette area. Very clean tidy bathroom that looked newly renovated which surprised us. Breakfast time was an issue though as all the tables were taken and we had to sit in the reception chairs eating our cereal, other families came down and waiting too. Breakfast itself was ok for a free inclusive breakfast. Need to drive into city attraction areas as too far to walk in the heat. Overall, enjoyable short stay.

Hair in the shower and dirty blanket on bed. Pool doesn't open until 10am. Pillows are smal squares. We called for more pillows/blankets and they were immediately brought to us. The service is good, we would just like a cleaner room! Also, the bed was no very comfortable. Good for price.

Hotel and staff were awesome! Very close walking distance to the Riverwalk and the Market. Breakfast was delicious, warm and plentiful every morning. Rooms were clean, comfortable and cozy. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to have a hotel within walking distance of everything without the noise.

Spent three weeks here and enjoyed my stay. I was looked after like family by all members of staff. Very Clean room and bathroom. Close to the river walk area and malls. Good breakfast choices with fruit and coffee available all day. Laundry facilities were good. The freeways and one-way streets were a bit of a challenge, but the Alamo Suites were in the center of the different places we went to. That was very helpful. My grandson particularly loved the waffles in the shape of Texas. He ate many of them for breakfast!

My family and I had a smooth check-in. The staff was nice. The room was very spacious, nice and cozy. Breakfast was delicious and warm. The kids especially loved the chocolate chip topping option on their Texas shaped waffle. We enjoyed the indoor pool. Close to the Riverwalk and about 15 minutes away from Seaworld. I would stay here again.

I use Best Western for a lot of my travels. I thought choosing the Alamo Suites in San Antonio would have been better than this. We had a suite since we were traveling with kids this time. Very small room, no table to sit at. The breakfast selection was sub par at best. We stayed on the top floor and our balcony was only big enough for two of us to stand on.

Juan and Gustavo (front desk) were very helpful with suggestions for dining and Becky, in housekeeping, was pleasant and kept the breakfast area well stocked and clean, despite many guests and small children availing themselves of that service.

Clean, quiet, safe. I was traveling alone this trip and canceled my reservations at a hotel near the base. This was a 15 min drive to the gate but was worth the better downtown neighborhood. The property and staff were great.

Went to just get away from the kids. Totally worth it. Close to river walk, clean hotel, nice balcony, loved the pool, very nice breakfast and the staff was excellent!!! I will be more than happy to book here anytime!

We stayed Alamo Suites to go to a graduation at the Freeman Colsieum. This location was very close. The rooms were huge and clean. Juan was very nice and attentive to our needs. Great location if you are planning to go to the AT&T Center or Freeman Colsieum.

An amazing hotel is possible, even at affordable prices. Just about 10 minute drive from the Rivercenter Mall. This was the most enjoyable hotel on my trip and serves as an example of friendly staff, comfortable rooms and genuine hospitality.

Love this little hotel and Juan was awesome! The rooms are nice and clean , the beds are comfortable and has a nice indoor pool. I plan to stay here on my next trip. Juan helped with my account and made sure my account was up to date. It's close to the city and attractions and depending on the day the price is nice too.

Sandwiched between a dilapidated old house and a electricity substation, I was a little worried when I arrived. But they have everything you could want except restaurants within walking distance. The lobby is very nice and well decorated, but small. The breakfast area is very nice a well stocked, but small. The business center has everything you could need, but yes it's small. It even has a fitness center with everything you need, it is small though. The room was great. It had refer, micro, coffee maker, internet, flat screen and nicely decorated modern. The room was not small. It was the same as any 3 star drive up. The price was great. If your not looking for an awesome location or view of anything, you just want a pleasant place to stay for a low price this is it. Oh, it has an indoor pool and jacuzzi, small.

Enjoyed our stay, saved money and received a good product for the price we paid. Clean rooms, spacious, decent breakfast and good location. Overall a good stay. Enjoyed the savings from the time we booked to when we checked in. Received 10% off due to joining the rewards that the front desk clerk told us about.

Customer service was not good. The receptionist was not being helpful, there was too much people been loud on the lobby and them cleaning lady's where so rude. Oh and the location is not to far from down town just the place where is located it's great near down town .

We stayed here May 27-29, and shortly after checking in the manager knocked our door with a do not disturb sign on it. He told me that the lady at check in gave me the wrong room, and that the other guests were there for their room. I had to open the door in my underwear because he said he was coming in. This is very unprofessionally, he should have called the room. I requested a 12 noon check out and housekeeping knocked my door at 11 am, and my do not disturb sign was conveniently missing! I don't think we will be back.

We stopped here for one night to visit San Antonio. Riverwalk and the Alamo are within walking distance (20 mins for quick walkers) and at 10 pm the walk back was absolutely safe. The rooms and beds are huge, the bathroom is clean with lots of towels, hairdryer and complimentary shampoo etc. We loved our balcony. The receptionists are friendly, quick and efficient. We did not use the pool and fitness room, but they are extra goodies, as is the laundry on the top floor. The parking lot is large and safe. There is complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby and room all day long. Great free breakfast with good selection of cereals and bakery products, fruit and yogurt, waffle irons and scrambled eggs with some sort of meat to go with them (sorry, vegetarians are not good at naming meat). Absolutely good value for money!

The hotel was very clean with all the amenities we needed. Great proximity to freeways and Riverwalk. During breakfast Celestina was very courteous and warm. Celestina's personality and smile made us feel very welcomed. There needs to be more people like her in hospitality.

Rooms could be cleaner, nats flying in bathroom. Guests services Juan was very helpful and did an outstanding job! Would not recommend to anyone to stay at this location. Breakfast was good. Asked for water and was told the water is for diamond members only. For the price we paid should have been in excellent condition. Will never stay here again.

We stayed here for a convention in San Antonio. Only 10 minutes away from the convention center on a bad traffic day. The room was big - very nice and big with a sofa, ceiling fan, microwave, refrigerator, 40" flat screen, nice work desk/chair combo and a nice bathroom. We got to the hotel early but still were checked in with no problem. Our front desk guy, Juan, was helpful and asked about our plans, where we were going to eat, etc. When I told him Mi Tierra's, he produced an Amigo Card that gives you a free dessert and puts you at the front of any wait line. As this is a very popular place, it's quite a card and we did use it! Breakfast here was not advertised as a hot breakfast, but that's what it was - scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, plus milk, pastries, cereal and fruit. It was always good and they kept it stocked. The internet was free and worked well - they even have the old ethernet connectors for really fast web access if you bring the cable with you. Parking was easy and the location was pretty good. There is a post office just 1/2 a block away if you need to mail something. They have an inside pool and hot tub so bring your swimsuit.

It's a fine hotel for a decent price – on a Monday. The room is clean and comfortable, but I expected more for San Antonio so near a tourist destination. Upon arrival, we had to wait 5 minutes (barely out of the roadway) to even enter the lot because there was a car parked in each direction completely blocking lot access (it's extremely narrow). There are no signs to discourage this, so if the lot is blocked you could end up waiting in the street to turn in. We were instructed to enter through the back door. When we got there, we had to go up a few stairs and down a hallway past first floor rooms just to get to the elevator. My mom was recovering from ankle surgery, and I'm sure the first floor inhabitants love people walking past their rooms all the time. Going through the lobby or entering through the side door (impossible because it was locked) is much easier, more direct to the elevator, and less bothersome for others. The bathroom door to our room would not stay open. It's heavy and is installed to close on its own. This is inconvenient and could prove difficult for someone with a disability. We were unable to get on the internet, even though it said we were connected. Not sure if that was a problem with the hotel or our phones. I would never pay the absurdly high weekend rates for this hotel.

Great customer service! Very nice and understanding. Rooms were clean and neat. Staff was nice and friendly. Pool was clean and fun. Breakfast was amazing. Definitely will be staying here on our next trip.

stay here is my only advice. We LOVED the big room and it was very clean, quiet, and breakfast is super...eggs, bacon or sausage, waffles, and everything continental you could want. I left my pillow (a $60 my pillow) and for only cost of postage they boxed and got it back to me. We stayed 4 nights and absolutely will stay here again when we go back to SA. It is within walking distance to the Alamo, river walk, and king William historic district if you are in even fair physical shape

We stayed here for a few nights whilst visiting San Antonio on holiday. The rooms are larger than many mid priced hotels and prices are very favourable compared to ones located on the Riverwalk. Microwave, coffee machine and fridge in the room. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were varied and plentiful. The location is just off the Interstate 10 highway and a 20 min walk into town. Car parking is free. Not many restaurants close by although there is a small Chinese restaurant 5 mins away. The only disadvantage is lack of view from the window..ours was an elecricity pylon. Would stay again.

This was a nice, quiet, clean hotel perfect for our first night of vacation. Location is right off of the interstate. Pretty close to the Riverwalk and Alamo. Was about a 5-7 minute drive from the downtown area. You could walk, but at night might be a little sketchy. Checkin staff was very friendly, morning staff not so much. The breakfast was awesome! Our teenager loved the Texas shaped waffles ;-). Didn't catch her name but the breakfast attendee was very sweet and hardworking. My only complaint is that I requested a pack-n-play online, but when I checked in I was told they only had one and it was in use. I am surprised a hotel that large only has one crib. We made do with sleeping arrangements but really wished we could have had a crib. Overall a nice place and would stay here again!

Location is very close to all of the major attractions!! Like 10 minutes or less from market square! Close enough without paying major bucks and the suite was very nice and clean. Exterior appearance could be nicer, and the interior can use some renovations. But it's very nice and much more than expected for price and location!

The terrible management of this hotel overbilled our group over $800. When their mistake was pointed out to them the manager denied it and just told us to let our credit card company fight our battle. Do not trust anything you are told by people here. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

I've stayed at better BWs. Breakfast was severely lacking. Pool area and anything close to the pool reeked of chlorine in other words the whole downstairs reeked of chlorine. Room was ok for shabby. Not my best stay.

We stayed here so we could attend our son's Air Force graduation. Booked October 19th-23rd, 2016. The first day we chose not to have housekeeping clean our room. The second day, we did request a turn down. We picked up everything, so that the room could be cleaned without them having to maneuver around our things. The only thing done was the dirty towels were picked up and replaced. They did not vacuum, or clean the bathroom area sink. After this, we declined further maid service. Saturday night when we returned from spending out last night with our son, we came back to water steadily dripping out of our ceiling. We contacted Rene at the front desk and he came to our room, looked at the ceiling and asked if we had gone to the room above to see what the issue was. We told him no, as we were removing our belongings so that they did not get ruined. He acted totally annoyed and went to the room above. He came back about 5 minutes later and said that they had merely took a shower and didn't put the shower curtain in the shower. Our ceiling however, was still leaking and actually getting worse. Rene went back down to the lobby and stated he was going to call the manager. After 15 minutes of hearing nothing, we went to the lobby. He apologized and said that there was nothing he could do. The owner demands that all rooms be rented and they had no where for us to go. He said that we could stay in the lobby until we left to catch our airplane (some 8 hours later) or he would comp us a night and we could just go back to our room. Mind you...our room was STILL leaking and our son was sleeping on the hide-a-bed in the room that was now leaking - so that would be impossible, not to mention, unsafe! We were so completely upset, we left and just went to the airport - 8 hours early! We had to sit in hard plastic chairs, by the main entrance, as nothing was open to purchase blankets, etc...It was freezing. We stayed up until TSA opened, flew back to Portland, then drove 5 hours, to get home. A few days after getting home, I called the motel as I realized I had left a couple pairs of jeans and t-shirts in the closet, due to our speedy departure. I spoke to Rene (the same person who was in charge, the night of the leak). I described the items I left. He said that he was going to go check the lost and found and was away from the phone for several minutes. When he got back on the line he said that there was nothing in lost and found but a few power cords. That;s B.S! I ended up calling the corporate office and making a complaint and I was told that this was completely unacceptable, a case would be opened and that I would be hearing back from them within 7 days (but it's usually only a couple). Well...it's not a few days shy of December and we have heard NOTHING! This was a horrible experience! A bad motel. horrific business practices in a bad part of town. Don't trust the internet pictures!

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during a family vacation. The rooms were nice and updated and at a reasonable price. The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. The free breakfast included waffles, oatmeal, pastries, fruit, boiled eggs and yogurt. They have free parking and a nice indoor pool. The only thing that would have made it even better would be a shuttle to go downtown. We will definitely stay here again.

This hotel ois located on the West fringe of downtown San Antonio, close to Mi Tierra restaurant ( a must visit in S.A.). Cross I 35 and you are in the old westside, in the past, 20 Yrs ago not very safe at night. Now a lot better. The faciility has a 2 lane access to the parking in the rear. Very well lit and has 24 -7 camera surveillance. Rooms are very clean, furniture is fairly new. Staff was very friendly ( important to me) . Breakfast is good , you can ,make your own waffles. I do miss fresh eggs. I think I saw boiled eggs. I will stay there again.

The hotel is not in the best part of town, I got to the motel about 5 min to 3 on a Sunday the attended looked at his watch before he even checked to see about the rooms I asked if he was going to send me away. but our check-in time is 3 pm sometimes our room may not be ready at 3pm I really didn't want to hear how crappy and slow their house keeping was I reserved that room about a month earlier they new I was coming. When I went to turn my key in the women at the desk was busy texting on her phone had to wait for her to get done. maybe they just cant find decent help down thei.r

The staff was wonderful and kind and very willing to help! Breakfast was offered, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, nice seating area and the location was perfect for downtown Market Square.

Very good front desk customer service and very quick. The room is big with sofa and table. Bathroom is clean. Balcony gives fresh outside air. Parking is free and very bright and safety parking lot. The indoor pool with jacuzzi is nice.

Perfect location to downtown San Antonio - free parking - hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The breakfast is continental but offered hot oat meal and hot waffles. The indoor pool was freezing but the hot tub was perfect.

older property on the outskirts of down town, it was beautifully renovated. our room was right next to the elevator and vending machines. didn't hear a thing!! the indoor pool and hot tup are a PLUS!! especially after long walks looking at the missions and ALAMO and river walk.

The hotel was clean, hotel room was updated - new looking sheets, furniture, bathroom impeccable and nice. Hotel provided us with a crib that I asked for in advance and the crib was clean and pretty new too. Indoor pool and jacuzzi looked cool but I did not take a dip. Location is less than 10 minutes drive to Alamo/River Walk. Breakfast was as expected for a Best Western.

Stayed here 2 nights while visiting family. The room was large and comfortable. No time for the indoor pool/hot tub, but both looked inviting. The first morning I realized the hairdryer was broken. It was replaced within minutes of my phone call to the front desk. Right by the freeway, but I couldn't hear the noise in the room. Free breakfast and the waffles in the shape of the Texas will start your day with a smile!

The customer service was great. The staff was very helpful, especially the people setting up the breakfast. I loved the spacious room and the bed was really comfortable. They have an indoor pool and hot tub. I felt welcomed and comfortable at Best Western.

From the outside this BW does not look promising. However, our room is very spacious with a very nice, recently refurbished, bathroom. The bed is very large and comfortable. The laundry room is on the 3rd floor and I did 2 washes without any problem at all. Not the best breakfast we have had but there are 3 waffle machines! Why not treat yourself and go to the Guenther House for your breakfast. Lovely old house and not too far with plenty of parking. Go early as it gets busy. There is an indoor pool that we didn't use. If you want to catch the bus into the city, the bus stop is within easy walking distance. You get the VIVA 11and a day pass is really cheap. The bus stops right by the Alamo. I would not recommend arriving back in the dark as there is little street lighting between the bus stop and the hotel. Internet very, very good. Staff very helpful. If the management of the hotel read this, can I please ask why guests are not given the opportunity to say they DO NOT want towels and bedding changed each day?

Clean, comfortable and professional. This is my first time to live in BW and it's excellent service gives me a very deep and nice experience. I will put it in my top hotel list and introducing it to my family and friends.

We stayed at BW Alamo Suites during our son's graduation from Lackland. It took us about 12 minutes to get to Base in the morning traffic. Some attention to detail in cleaning could be improved upon. For instance, vacuuming up next to the edges of the bed and under the bathroom vanity there were items left by previous guests so it was obvious that no one cleaned under it before we arrived. Breakfast was good and it's nice that it goes until 10 and the beds were comfortable. My only real complaint was all the people hanging out drinking in the parking lot at night (all 4 nights we were there). They were loud and obnoxious and it made for an uncomfortable situation exiting the car with our children. The parking lot just didn't feel safe after dark because of it. At one point upon our return there was an angry man in the parking lot throwing tools out of the trunk of a car and yelling.Other than that, the rooms were nice and staff was friendly. We had a room with 2 king beds and a pull out couch. The room was VERY spacious. Probably one of the most spacious I've ever stayed in which made it comfortbale for more than a few people.

This hotel is great. Perfect location just outside the city. About a 15-20minute walk and you can pretty much walk along the river the whole way which is really lovely. Staff were very friendly upon checkin and throughout our stay. Breakfast was really good as well, even better that it was on till 10am most places it's 9am. So that was such a bonus. Our room was really nice, great air con and super comfy bed and very spacious rooms. Didn't really want to leave. We used the laundry facilities and they were good as well. Didn't have to use the pool and gym but they looked really good. There's a few supermarkets near by and a couple of fast food restaurants. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Room very spacious and clean. My coffee pot didn't work. Check in was fast with no issues. Pool was dirty and intense smell of chlorine. Breakfast was too crowded and we decided to eat elsewhere. Very close by to downtown San Antonio.

I chose this hotel for the swimming pool. The pool was so cloudy and reeeked of chlorine which resulted in not being able to swim. My kids were so disappointed. The breakfast was the WORST I have ever seen at a Best Western. I was told they are serving what was required by Best Western so I guess they are just getting by instead of going over and beyond. Don't expect the front desk to help you or deliver after hours because they are not. My family will not stay here again!!,

Excellent quality for the price. The suite was very large and comfortable. Breakfast area was clean and complimentary food was good. Parking on site. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is close to the downtown activities of Riverwalk and the Alamo.

My cousins and I decided to come out to San Antonio for the night and I can truly say that we had a blast. As soon as I got to the hotel I was greeted and checked in right away with no hiccups. The room was beautiful and cozy. Thanks to the staff at Best Western Alamo Suites.

Stayed here for three nights and found, even though under renovation, it was clean, spacious and had friendly and helpful staff. The pool is indoor and was good. We were lucky to have a room with a small balcony which was an added bonus. We found the area to be quiet and we had no issue walking home in the early hours of the morning. Breakfast is basic, but enough. Would absolutely stay here again, for the price,the mere 20 min walk to river walk and 25 minutes walk to the Alamo.

Enjoyed spending the afternoon downtown around the Alamo and riverwalk district. We found it very easy to get to from our morning drive from Houston. Able to park in from of our unit. The hotel was convenient for this purpose.

We stayed at the best western Alamo suites and the inside is much nicer than the outside. The picture of the front on the booking page resembles nothing of what the actual property looks like. So I was a bit apprehensive checking in. The hotel is currently being renovated so there are lots of fresh paint smells etc when in the hotel. Part of the parking (probably the best spots on the lot) are consumed by the construction area, which from the room just looks like a walled off dump. There are more spots consumed by the haul away trash in the back. Our room was clean. The a/c was a bit noisy and the bed is directly next to it but that wasn't terrible. The reading light on one side of the bed had a short or bad bulb not sure which. The full mirror closet door wouldn't shut so we had to prop it closed so we wouldn't hit it for midnight bathroom runs. we kept getting these little flies in the bathroom. We discovered they were coming from inside the wall since closing the drains was no help (a little caulk around the sink drain pipe should be applied). Most modern hotel rooms now have appliances with USB ports for charging devices. These rooms have none which was slightly menacing. The rear entrance to the hotel is a bit strange. You must enter through the pool. The indoor pool is not air conditioned and the strong smell of chlorine was a turn off for my wife. Lastly, some time should be spent making the Parking area look nice as well as some fresh paint on the outside of the hotel. A chemical wash on the roof would go a long way improving the outward appearance of the hotel. When I first pulled up my initial reaction was, "uh oh". If you're out and about take an uber back to the hotel if it's after dark. We found the area a bit too sketchy to walk after dark. Other than those minor things our stay was nice and we would stay again.

When we booked, the staff did not tell us that the hotel was undergoing major renovations. It was ugly and dusty, inside and out. It was in a bad part of town and the guy that worked at the desk said they couldn't prevent anyone from coming in off the street. Pizza flier under our door was from a shady company and they gave us the wrong pizza and wouldn't refund our money. Hotel didn't do anything to keep the pizza company out.

Pro's - Extremely large room, all the amenities you could ask for (fridge, micro, coffee maker, etc.). Excellent price for being so close to everything. Room was very clean, Staff very friendly and helpful. Vending machines everywhere for convenience. The pool and hot tub were very clean and had a shower for rinsing off. Con's - Not a scenic location, no views. Next to Freeway in a commercial district off narrow feeder. Not a dangerous place, just not one I would be comfortable to take walks around. Pool didn't open until 10am. Would have been nice to take a dip before the kids woke up! Summary - I will definitely stay here next time I'm in town as the room was great and at a great price for where it is. Convenient to all areas of San Antonio.

This is probably the best, Best western we stay at, friendly and helpful staff, clean, very nice rooms close and to River Walk. Compared to the Best Western we stayed at the night before, this was like a breath of fresh air.. We have stayed at this hotel the previous year, Though the pool was off limits for remodeling, we were still very happy. Anytime we go to San Antonio I'm sure this is where we will stay..

This Best Western has everything you need for a great stay in San Antonio. Great comfortable suite rooms, great breakfast too! The indoor pool was a great way to beat the heat, my daughter really enjoyed it. The hot tub was wonderful after being on my feet so long. Just a short drive into downtown, it was affordable, and clean and quite.

Although there was renovation work going on, the room was good. Especially the beds were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and they did refill, so overall a positive experience. Express Check out was useful.

We just spent 2 nights at the Best Western Alamo Suites. As mentioned in previous comments, there is a current remodel occurring, but this is a definite benefit. It will be beautiful. The room is already very nice. We had a suite, and it suited our needs well: 3 adults,2 teens, 2 year old. Breakfast was good and fresh. Central location to everything. Price was spot on. But the best and most notable part was the staff...they truly are dedicated to making guests feel at home.

This was my second time here...because the first time was a great experience. .. SO.. I reserved a couple of months back and asked for 2 beds... Upon my arrival I was told I had a bed and a sofa bed..hmmm..I was a little bothered by this but went along with this because the guy explained I could talk to manager in the morning and as people were leaving I could request a room with two beds..I had no choice but to do so... AND THEN I slept on it ...very thin pad..u could feel every spring! I woke up with sore neck and shoulders so the next morning I complained and asked for a real bed since I asked for this in the first place..I was told by management they were booked but she offered 2 extra blankets to use on mattress.. My friend who was not pleased with this answer complains again and we are told by the manager we could leave if we would like... now we were in San Antonio for a festival, there would have been no available rooms by 12 that afternoon...so we stayed.. I can assure you that all 3 of us decided that we will never ever return...we also work for county in our city and have a huge networking system...they will all be warned against ever staying at this Best Western...

Even though they were remodeling it was clean. Staff is super friendly. Breakfast is good. Celestina was the most helpful person. Even her waffles she made us tasted better. All amenities of downtown San Antonio are close by. Best value for the money. Would have easily paid over $400 a night in San Francisco for same hotel.

It was a very clean and well kept hotel the staff was very nice . It was a beautiful place to go and visit Texas is so hot and the Alamo is amazing it's a must see . The river walk is one of the best places bc it has everything all in one place. There are so many different food and shopping places all in walking distance to.

It was an amazing stay. Staff is friendly. Janice from front desk helped guide us for fun activities for our kids.We enjoyed the waffle with the Best Western logo in it. Stay was just comfortable. I will go back when back in town.

Took the kids on a mini vacation this past weekend and spent the night here and we were very pleased.. The room we stayed in was newly renovated so that was great. The room was big and clean. They have an indoor pool which is great and the desk clerk at check in was nice and friendly!

The hotel doesn't present well from the outside. It's in a bad area and the driveway to the hotel is small and difficult to navigate. The indoor pool needs better ventilation. Aside from that, the staff is incredibly polite, friendly, and professional. The room was clean, had all of the amenities promised, and was large enough. The breakfast options were great. Plenty of choices.

I have stayed there for over a week the room was clean and big. The staff was so friendly. The gym has weights which was a big thing for me. So close to the river walk. The parking lot is big I didn't have to worry about finding a parking spot. The breakfast is good there are 3 waffle machines so I didn't have to wait forever like other places.

My son got sick during our stay and vomited in our room on the bed. As I was about to go to front I ran into Eugenia. I explained what happen as I reached for the sheets. she stated she would clean for us. That as just amazing.

Went on a 4 day 3 night vacation to San Antonio Fiesta Texas. We booked a room for 4 kids 2 adults. Got a great deal 2 QBDs and a sleeper sofa. Accommodated our family perfectly. Plus they had free continental breakfast. The staff was just amazing. Celestina, was such a wonderful lady...she made awesome waffles for everybody! She was such a pleasant person to talk to and was sooo attentive. Our room had a microwave and mini fridge which was perfect!!! The Housekeeoers were also wonderful. They have an indoor pool nice warm water which a baby n toddler enjoyed to the max!...we enjoyed the whole experience sooo much that every time we go to San Antonio we will be booking here again! It's so close to all major attractions n the manager is sooo helpful and kind. There's also a kennel across the street for those who wish to take they're fur babies along. It was simply more than we expected. Thank you to All the staff!

Best staff very friendly. New remodel. Has large king rooms. Indoor pool and hot tub. Very close to the river walk and Alamo. There is a doggie daycare right across the street that does over night boarding wish we wish we had known but will remember for next time.

We were desperate to get off the highway after battling stormy weather and gridlock in Houston. Called Best Western's toll free number and asked for something just off I-10 and he booked this facility. Wow! Yes, it's an old hotel but it was just $106 and we had TWO King beds and a pullout queen couch and it was clean. Definitely a family-friendly place and a short distance from the Alamo with access to shuttles, etc. Modest breakfast included. Sarah at the front desk recommended several eateries, all within easy access. Great bed and RIGHT off the I-10. No complaints!

Great sized room, really spacious wardrobe plenty of storage. Tea and coffee facilities along with a fridge and microwave. Lovely pool perfect for a quick swim disappointing it does not open until 10am. Breakfast was plain and simple but plentiful really lovely lady maintains it. Can't fault the staff they were lovely to deal with. Would not hesitate to recommend the hotel for comfort and cleanliness.

My husband and I got a hotel room here for one night while we were waiting for on a rental house. Hotel was clean and cold. Just how I like it. Indoor pool looked good. And they had a lot to offer at the breakfast the next morning. Very pleased with this hotel.

The parking lot in the rear of the motel was the only negative I encountered at this motel. Passing the cleaning ladies each morning, I was greeted warmly. As I entered the breakfast area, I could always count on being greeted again by each of the workers there. The counter workers were efficient and pleasant.

Located in scary part of town. But most of this town seems scary. Doesn't look anything like pictures. Noisy with kids running wild. Hard to get to and over priced. Electric didn't work in bathroom. Only saving grace was the front desk staff seemed nice

We booked two days and liked the room and staff so much we stayed three. The rooms are spacious and quiet. There is great water pressure for the shower. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms have been remodeled. The coffee is good. They include breakfast of cereal, toast, juice, pastry, fruit, and yogurt. We were close to everything we wanted to do in San Antonio. The parking is free.

We were on our anniversary vacation, and selected this hotel not knowing exactly where it was. It was readily accessible from the interstate. There aren't very many eating places close by, but you can order from several delivery services. The rooms are nice and comfortable. We had a suite that had been newly renovated. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is good. If you want to take a tour in the area, have the desk clerk, Sarah, set it up for you. It was wonderful not to have to try and find the places, and then find parking. We let the driver take us all over, and we sat back and enjoyed the ride. San Antonio has a lot of history to tell.

We always stay at a Best Western when on short trips, when we can. We have found all of them to be nice, clean rooms at a fair price. The Best Western Alamo Suites was no exception. The hotel was very clean and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. A great value for the price.

the 1st and 2nd floors have been renovated while work continues on the 3rd floor. over all a very good job was done and looks very good. some of the wallpaper was not sealed, but I'm sure they will catch it. breakfast had waffles, but no hot eggs and meat. overall not bad. the b/r service very good. with the work being done on the hotel, I feel they should be able to upgrade to a plus. the internet was somewhat slow and the outer grounds require better clean-up and care. location is not the best, but the bus service is very close. you could walk to the river walk.

Hotel is very close to downtown which makes it very convenient. However, parking is very limited, and at night the area feels are little unsafe. Room was big with two queen beds and a sofa bed. Sofa bed mattress needs to be replaced asap. Queen beds were great. Room had a small balcony which is very nice. Continental Breakfast was great, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, fruit, cereal, bagels, great, great, great breakfast. Wi-fi was easy to connect. In-door pool is a nice amenity, which we did not get to use. Overall, I liked it and I think I will stay there again any time. The room was big enough for my family of five. Two adults and three kids and everyone had a bed, except the sofa bed was in terrible shape. I will recommend it any day.

Visited with the family during Xmas time, spacious room in a good location. Easy parking and friendly staff. Really poor choice of breakfast no hot choices (cold boiled eggs are not a hot option) so we couldn't count on the breakfast. Swimming pool was not really clean and there was too much chlorine but it is a good size. First time at a Best Western hotel but not impressed.

The Best Western Alamo Suites was comfortable, clean and safe. The mattress was amazing. The staff was helpful. The hotel is centrally located to all the great places we wanted to visit: 8 min to the Alamo and River Walk, 5 min to the Market Square, 14 min to the San Antonio Zoo, 12 min to San Jose Mission. Wonderful experience. We will stay there again

We had a last minute trip to San Antonio. This hotel was close to all the activities and was nice and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had a great time and enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub in the evening.

We were visiting the city and felt safe and secure in the BW. The town sort of scared us but the convenience of shuttles and close to highway helped us feel safe. The staff was helpful and made our stay a lot easier. We started with Hotel.com and had an awful first experience in San Antonio but call the BW line and was pleased with the outcome. Best choice we made was to not go with the Alamo Suites that was suggested by Hotel.com that had roaches and stained sheets and ended up at Best Western.

I booked this hotel with the most important criteria being cleanliness, price and distance to the airport, Alamo, Riverwalk, etc. When I called to inquire about transportation I was told there was a trolley "right behind the hotel." The price of the trolley was very reasonable and, knowing Best Western as being generally clean, I decided it sounded perfect. Our first morning we were given directions to the trolley: "walk to the corner, go right, walk to the next corner and go right again - the trolley is right there." What the people at the desk failed to mention was the blocks were VERY long - had to be at least 1/4 mile - and the area was extremely desolate. The hotel is surrounded by warehouses which were all closed on the weekend so there were no people, no cars, no houses, etc. As we were walking I noticed there were also no street lights. That meant we would be walking back in the evening in total pitch darkness. When we finally reached the trolley stand we found there was no trolley due to detours from road work. We took a city bus that cost a couple of dollars each and took about 10-15 minutes to get to the Alamo. If we ever return to San Antonio I'd definitely stay closer to the main part of town. Even though we used Uber (much cheaper than their taxis) the trips did add up. The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, the price was reasonable so, if you have your own car, I recommend it. Otherwise, be prepared to either walk for miles (which we did anyway - the city and Riverwalk are amazing!) or call Uber.

This stay was awesome. The staff were great and very helpful. Good place of choice. Not to mention it is down town and walking distance from a few things. My child and family enjoyed the breakfast and the area of seating. We also enjoyed the pool. I loved that there was free parking as well, you don't find that as often when traveling out of town.

Our room was clean, however, next time I would prefer a room away from the street. We were in room 202, on the street directly across from a dog grooming and kennel facility. Not bad at night, but barking begins early in the morning and occurs throughout the day. If you don't mind walking 1 mile or so, then this hotel is conveniently located to the San Antonio downtown and Riverwalk area. We enjoyed our daily walks. There is a lovely place nearby for an upscale breakfast, Guenther House (Pioneer Flour founders)

The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean. The breakfast offered was well kept. Facility was under construction but they kept the noise and debris under control so it didn't interrupt our sleep or stay. This hotel and staff were very professional. I would stay here agin.

My business partner in I checked in around 9 or 10 pm after the run around at the airport trying to get a rental car we just decided to get a uber to the hotel. We walked in and Tiffany was our first point of contact with a welcoming Good evening and a smile on her face. Me being in the hotel industry for 10 plus years running high level 5 star 5 diamond establishments. I Give Tiffany an A+ and would want her part of my team. Thank you for the Hospitality! Went to SA this weekend. My wife booked a room at a different hotel. We got there on time and they gave our room away. Then they offered to kick the guests out and give us our room back ( in the middle of the night). Then he let me look at a different room. The door was open to it, holes in the walls, no light bulbs.....I promptly left and went down the road to best western. Eduardo was at the front desk at the time. He was extremely professional and very nice. He got my wife, baby, and myself a room right away. The next morning Janice got us into another room even though we didn't reserve one. The people here are very helpful.

The lady at check was rude and hateful. Check in was after 3 . all maids were on break at 2:30 when I tried to check in. I had been stranded on the freeway, they would not let us have a room, finally at 3:00 I went in again and was told sorry maids arrived late! They had all been on break about 2:30 when I tried to check in the second time. Lots of construction, noise, breakfast was not good. I tried to report it and was told it was a franchise and they could do whatever they choose to do . I would never, never go back!

From arrival until check out, all staff was very friendly and courteous. We loved the full breakfast in the mornings and being able to relax and enjoy the indoor pool in the evenings. Very comfortable, nice and quiet property! Loved it!

Very nice stay. Had the suite with king beds. Not used to that in California. Breakfast was nice with Texas shaped waffles. Beds were comfy. Everything worked good. Room was clean. Staff was nice and busy. Was there during construction.

We were in town for a Bowl Game at the AlamoDome. The hotel was easy to find, and it wasn't far from Market Square. We were able to take advantage of the indoor hot tub and pool - nice features. Breakfast was good. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. Our room was handicap accessible, so the bathroom layout was a little unique, but it served its purpose. The front desk staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help us with transportation arrangements. I would be willing to stay here again when visiting San Antonio.

The staff were friendly. They upgraded us to King for free. The location was great too because we could walk to Alamo (30 min walk). The spa and pool were included and were enjoyable after a long day out on the town. Breakfast was ok. Construction workers were annoying.

This location is probably too far to walk to the tourist sites downtown for most folks, but public transport is readily available. Having said that, our experience is that the rooms are quiet and comfortable. They provide a very nice light breakfast with waffles, juice coffee, cereal, hard boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, etc. Staff is efficient. I would stay again. Very economical. Only negative is that at the time they were undergoing renovations - the smell of cleaning agent was rather strong.

We picked it for reasonably priced week after Christmas/over New Year for our family of 5. The room was very nice for 5 - with full fridge and microwave. Indoor pool was nice and hot tub was warm. Walked downtown several times - not picturesque but fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but could get crowded.

Nice big room, rather small indoor pool (whereby 5 people in is already crowded) but not very clean. Staff is friendly and polite, on-site parking available but no security or cameras monitoring.. wouldn't walk around the area as we didn't feel very safe. BREAKFAST IS TERRIBLE!! So if you have kids and you count to be able to eat ..well bad surprise!! If you try to go after 08:00 (breakfast is from 07-10) you'll hardly find anything as they don't seem to be replacing things (and we waited 45 minutes waiting) and a nice cold coffee. No variety, poor quality food, no cook breakfast apart from hard cold boiled eggs!! inedible muffins!! If all you need is a nice spacious room this is for you, if you are a family and want to feed your kids is the wrong place

Our experience at the Best Western Hotel was very nice, the room we stayed in was recently renovated. The room was very clean, comfortable and accommodating. The staff was welcoming & friendly during the entire stay. The location was convenient to the Riverwalk and other popular sights. The trolly is within walking distance and convenient transportation to take to the Riverwalk.

The hotel is not in downtown, but it's fairly close. I wouldn't walk after dark though as there are some warehouse type buildings and too many dark corners. It's a short car ride away from the Riverwalk though, so that was nice. This is a great hotel for groups of friends trying to save on money and/or families needed extended stays. The room is equipped with a sofa bed and full size fridge and microwave and a BIG closet. Definitely can see a family of 4 or 5 staying here because double rooms come with 2 KING beds, plus sofa bed. Indoor pool a plus, but unavailable during our visit. Would stay again if I'm traveling with a large group.

I was not very satisfied with my stay. The room was weird to start with the bathroom in the middle of the entrance/living space and bedroom. In addition, the carpet had stains and the couch/chair as well. Part of the couch was ripped. The toilet had its own little room, which was super weird as there was a door opening to the bathroom but an open doorway to the bedroom. We called for a different room, but was told that they were no other rooms available. The area isn't very nice either - it's close to Riverwalk and Alamo and downtown, but I question the safety in the area. If I knew, I would have paid more for a better hotel in the area.

I stayed here with my husband, sis in law and niece on Nov 27th and again on Nov 30 because my husband had a late flight in and we had an early flight out on Tuesday. My sis in law., niece and I got there about 2:30 but we weren't allowed to check until 3. The room is huge, we had two king size beds with a pull out couch. There was a full size frig plus microwave. The furniture is outdated so hopefully the renovations are all good. The area around the hotel isn't the nicest tho. We walked down the block to Guadalupe st then right to Flores to catch the bus downtown. 3 women walking alone during the day felt dangerous so I wouldn't recommend this at dark. The hotel is under reconstruction and it needs it. Paint is peeling in areas, and the room we had on Monday night the bathroom door didn't lock. We only had the breakfast on sat morning since our flight was so early on Tues. there were waffles, oatmeal, yogurt. Since we left so early Tuesday the lobby is locked off so we had to knock on the door leading to it by the elevator and someone came and got our keys. When I asked for my receipt she wouldn't let me enter in the lobby so I had to wait by the elevator for her to bring it to me so was because of the neighborhood we were in?? Every time that we've been in San Antonio we had always stayed at the Best Western Sunset Suites. Should have done it again

The Best Western Alamo Suites is a great choice to stay while visiting the Alamo, and the other great places to visit in the San Antonio area. It is located within a comfortable distance to the river walk also.

Had a great stay again. Check in and out is smooth. Even though remodeling going on in the first floor, things were good. Free parking and pretty good bfast. 3 minutes from all dtown attractions. Have stayed three times and will do it again cause it's best place for the price.

Much to our surprise the whole 1st floor is being remodeled. Our room was on the 3rd floor so we thought we would give it a try. We stayed gone during the day so we weren't bothered by the noise. The free breakfast is ok if you aren't a carnivore. Waffles galore in the shape of the great state of Texas. No meat in sight. Over all it wasn't a bad hotel and the price was reasonable.

I feel compelled to warn fellow travelers away from this property until such time as management corrects known problems with their security. I stayed at this property on 11/11 and unfortunately my car was broken into around 10:00pm. Another hotel guest witnessed the break-in and with security cameras everywhere catching the criminal should be possible. The MANAGEMENT, however, appears to be completely indifferent to hotel security and I learned from the San Antonio Police Department that the cameras protecting the property are basically useless (grainy pictures from old equipment). The property has been advised of this fact as there have been other incidents at this location. The property management has chosen to do nothing about this. After I cleaned up the glass and taped the rear window I parked my vehicle directly outside the managers office as a second break-in is now even easier. An hour later I hear from my room above a drunk staggering around the parking lot and when I looked out the window he was leaning up against my car. I dashed downstairs to shoo him away and banged on the managers window to alert her of this new threat. She came to the door and said " I have work to do, you can't expect me to watch the cameras and provide security." So if the hotel management can't be bothered to notice someone in their parking area breaking into cars or wandering around drunk....and the cameras really don't work.....then fellow travelers you are at risk. The Police suggested that other properties nearby have much better security, so I recommend you pass over this Best Western Alamo on Laredo Street and stay elsewhere. I have reported this situation to Best Western Corporate and they will be investigating. Total damage to my car....$2,200. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

This hotel was okay. Usually expect a little more from Best Western. Wish there were a bigger selection of hot items for breakfast, but what they offered was okay. There are balconies outside some of the rooms with parking along side the building. I feel as though the parking could allow potential break-ins. It would not take much to stand on one of the vehicles to gain access to the balcony and rooms. It left me feeling a little unsafe.

Overall the hotel is decent. You get waht you pay for. However, I am unhappy because, i have forgotten a small wallet with credit cards and money in the bed. Few hours later, i came back and nobody found it. The most imporatnt is that the manager did not come back to me, altough he promised to do so,.

Hotel is located on west fringe of downtown. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The area around the hotel is unsafe to walk at night as it is near crime ridden housing projects. Access is controlled and safe. Hotel is fairly new. Breakfast was very good. Indoor pool is great for winter visitors with kids.

There is a shuttle to downtown San Antonio available a couple of blocks away which enabled us to skip renting a car on this trip. The pool was a nice temperature and the hot tub was great. The bed was very comfortable - we reserved a double king suite. My suggestion would be to hang the TV higher on the wall because the view is blocked when sitting on the couch. We enjoyed our stay so much.

This Best Western is excellent for the money, short drive to the Riverwalk and activities. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to all. This was our 2nd stay at this location with two different groups of family members.

The hotel has been around a while. The price however was in keeping with the quality. A shuttle service to the Alamo would have been helpful. It would save parking costs. The shuttle service would have been extremely helpful for out of town people who are not familiar with the area. The one way streets caused confusion.

Older hotel and area but close to city and attractions and easy on and easy off interstate. We stayed 5 nights and were able to enjoy the morning breakfast, could have used more protein (meat), but in the small space provided it was good and the attendant nicely took care of each and every individual like it was her family. The girl at the front desk in the morning was very accommodating and had a lot of knowledge about her job and the area. The night guys needed to gain some of her knowledge! Maids were not seen but all was taken care of quietly and efficiently. Maintenance on some minor things need a little more attention, like light bulbs, a desk drawers sticking, etc. ! Mattresses could use some attention and sheets need to fit better!

This is my first review on Tripadvisor. And I must say I am not very happy with the hotel.I went with my family for relaxed vacation to San Antonio. We wanted to see Sea world. I found a very good review about this hotel and as it is nearest to downtown, I booked it. But hotel was not very special and I found it average. We have taken 1 king bed room with patio. Patio is of no use as there was no view and trees were all over. I was not able to even stand there. Breakfast area was small and not enough to accommodate all guest. So complimentary breakfast is not adding much value. Housekeeping staff was all non english speaking. I request to clean my room in morning, but they never turned up. When I was back at 3 PM it was like that. I called them again to clean it and a housekeeping lady comes who do not know English. It took us 10 mins for us to tell her that where we want a cleanup. How can you have a staff with non english in US??? I paid almost $90 per day for hotel but I think it is not worth more than $70. The only good thing is its location which is closer to downtown. My personal suggestion is look for other options. You can book it only if you do not have other options.
