    « Another great stay »

This was our second time to Sutter House, great stay again. Room was always clean, bed is very comfy and great breakfast in the morning. Amenities plenished all the time and the staff are very obliging and friendly. The foyer has PC's for personal use but the hotel does supple free WiFi. If you require your import items kept safe they have safety deposit boxes in the foyer. Hotel within walking distance to many important streets including Old Sacramento that we visited frequently. The site also has a Sports Bar Blue Print which is excellent for a couple of drinks to unwind plus they serve food.

« The Sutter best Western in Sacramento »

The Sutter best Western in Sacramento is a great place to stay the staff was courteous and polite and always willing to help it's a great location for doing business in downtown Sacramento plenty of restaurants and entertainment options close at hand

    « Convenient downtown access »

This was a well appointed facility with great access the the Sacramento Convention Center. My room was very nice and the breakfast is plentiful. Appreciated the free parking over my two day stay. Restaurants, bars and theater within easy walking distance. Met the Best Western standards of quality at a value. There is a machine nearby projecting bird noises to prevent roosting and it took a bit to get used to until I tuned it out and it died down.

« Great location in downtown »

I stayed here since I was going to attend a concert at the new Golden 1 Center. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. There was a variety of breakfast options so we were able to have a nice fulfilling breakfast. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Hotel is walking distance to the state Capitol. I would definitely stay here again.

    « I will stay here again »

I used this hotel for a conference at the Sacramento Convention Center. Very convenient location. I was able to walk everywhere that I wanted to go including to the Convention Center. Staff is super friendly, I arrived before my check in and they allowed me to park there for free in advance of my check in which was very much appreciated. Breakfast is better than average. Room was really nice for the money. You never really know what you are going to get when you go to a hotel for the first time. I was very happy with my decision to stay here.

« Great DownTown Sacramento Hotel »

Great place to stay!.....Location downtown was great next to busses and light rail. Neighbor hood is not so hot but makes for great entertainment at night! BREAKFAST was amazing and HOT FOOD was not expected Great Deal, Wonderful Staff and look forward to staying more -Two Feathers

    « Was Expecting More.... »

We stayed at the Best Western for 2 nights and found it to be average at best. The room was nice and the bed comfortable but the bathroom looked like a dirty protest. The ?artistic' designs on the walls were disgusting, it made me feel like we were in student accommodation. The buffet breakfast was again ok but I really resent eating off paper plates, using plastic cutlery and drinking from paper cups. I've stayed in many Best Westerns and usually feel there is a basic minimum standard. In my opinion this wasn't met. It felt very dated and certainly not 'European boutique'. The free parking was good given that everywhere else charges, location is good, and the reception staff were pleasant and efficient, but given the cost i'd look elsewhere next time i'm in Sac. I didn't have a bad stay, just expected more.

« Great place, excellent breakfast! »

Stayed here for a business trip and had a great stay. Nicely decorated rooms, quiet, clean, well stocked with toiletries. Bed was very comfortable and shower was powerful and hot. The free breakfast was absolutely excellent...varied and all good. Free parking too. Would stay here again!

    3
    « Not too bad »

Wasn't thoroughly cleaned and found some hair in the shower. No movie channels (hbo, max, starz, ect. Wi-Fi worked and had good speed. Some high priced restaurants nearby. Would probably come back but would like something closer to more amenities/ sportsbars.

    5
    « Loved My Stay »

I loved my stay at this Best Western. I liked the way the rooms centered around the pool. The breakfast was way more than I expected, biscuits/gray, eggs/ sausage, waffle maker and mochas for the road. Free parking. I've already made my next reservation. 20 min. walk to Old Town. 8 min walk to Convention Center.

    « I had to cancel »

I booked here a few months in advance to attend a Brian Wilson concert. The night before, and long after cancellation was permitted, my wife fell and injured her shoulder. It was bad enough for an ER trip and a sling. The morning we were due to arrive I called to inform them there was no way we could make it and see what charges would apply, or even if I could, as this was well within the window of No Cancellation. They completely understood and cancelled for me. No fee was even charged. Talk about customer service even when giving up a sale! I can only assume the rest of the place is a great. six stars to the staff.

    5
« Great place, near the train station »

Very helpful and efficient staff, large clean room, good coffee, large fridge and microwave, hot breakfast included, quiet location, secure entry, pool and patio, lots of parking. Ticked all the boxes.

    4
« Good location to "walk" Sacramento »

Wanted to stay at a hotel for a good walking tour of Sacramento. This was it. Near Capitol building and from there you can walk to Old Sacramento and the new Golden 1 Stadium. I also walked to Sutter's Fort. Clean place with a nice breakfast. Would recommend it.

    4
« Good city centre hotel »

Quiet hotel in a walkable location to main parts of Sacramento (Capitol building and Old Town) and with good local restaurants nearby - one on site and Claim Jumper which we used. On site parking included secure area for motor cycles.

    5
« Great location and value »

We loved this place the room was very clean and nice. We were in town for a concert at the Golden 1 Arena and were able to walk there and enjoyed a nice walk to the Capital as well. This hotel also had one of the nicest continental breakfasts I've seen.

    4
« Good Location for Golden 1 Center »

Nice place. Clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was typical of the rate included fare. Very easy walk to Golden 1 Center. Not much shopping or restaurants around by foot. Neighbors were a bit noisy in the early morning through the walls. Still would stay again and would try to get a 2nd floor room overlooking the pool area.

    5
    « Awesome Stay »

My stay was very good. I love the staff they were so helpful. I would definitely like to stay again. The breakfast is also very convenient. They offered the basics of breakfast. The location is also great. a couple of blocks from the capital building.

    2
    « Poor Cleanliness »

Bedspread, sheets and pillowcases were dirty. Obvious they had not been changed. Walls and baseboards were filthy. Mattress was uncomfortable, ripped, and needs replacing. The AC unit did not cool the room on the first night. I complained and it was better the second night. If all of downtown Sac was dont sold out, I would have left and got a new room.

    3
« One night, but used flannel in shower 'ultra clean' I think not »

The staff here are great, all the ladies we dealt with were most helpful. Our first room was an adjoining room, the guy next door laughed at the top of his voice continuously so we asked to be moved, we just left Elko where a night in the Shilo Inn was still in our 'bad' memory bank. The second room seemed fine, we settled in and soon went out for food, upon returning with a Pizza, I found someone else's left overs on the phone book, not good??. I picked it up and put in the bin. In the morning as my wife was getting in the shower a dried up flannel fell from the curtain rail ironically on the back of the door it had a sign saying 'Ultra Clean' all rooms cleaned to an exact high standard. We wrote this information on the advice card left in the room. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. We were allowed to leave our car at the hotel all day if needed ??

« Great place to stay when attending events at the new Golden 1 Center »

Perfect location to stay for downtown Sacramento activities. I have stayed at this hotel many times while on business during trade shows at the Sacramento Convention Center. Bar and restaurant across parking lot is also very good. Rooms are clean and provide everything you need no matter how long or short the stay. Breakfast has a good variety of items to get the day off to a good start. Also the hours are good should you not be an early riser. I recommend the hotel to family and friends that are staying in downtown Sacramento.

« Comfortable hotel in a walkable neighborhood next to downtown »

The best part of this hotel was the location: it was walking distance to most of the downtown Sacramento. The room was large and comfortable, as you would expect from Best Western. Parking was on the first floor behind the hotel and was free. The lobby was very small. Nevertheless it felt more like a hotel than a motel. The breakfast was just okay: similar to what you would expect in a budget hotel in the US. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

    5
    « Lovely stay! »

We had a great nights stay here. Our room was lovely. Very spacious and clean. It also had a fridge which was great. Location was absolutely perfect. It also had free parking and a continental breakfast in the morning.

    5
« Perfect location for visitng Sacramento »

We picked this property based on previous trip advisor reviews. The location was ideal, parking was easy and plentiful, the restaurant next door is first rate. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was great-eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit, waffles, hot cereal, cold cereal, pastries, gourmet coffees, juices...I could go on and on. Generous seating and wonderful staff. Rooms are well equipped, beds are very comfortable. The courtyard with swimming pool is a nice seating area for happy hour-sunny if you want, umbrellas if you want shade. Overall very nicely kept property.

    5
« Great place to stay! »

We always stay here when we come to Sacramento for concerts. We saw Paul McCartney at the Golden 1 Center last night (amazing concert!) and booked the hotel room when we got the tickets. All the hotels were fully booked including the BW. The rooms are spacious and clean, beds are comfortable, staff is very friendly and accomodating. We asked for a different room location and even though it was fully booked they were able to accomodate us. Love the complimentary breakfast, lots of choices of hot and cold as well as fruits.

    5
    « Friendly Hotel »

Just stayed one night, hotel room was very spacious and comfortable. Nice swimming pool area with sun beds. Really lovely reception staff, very helpful and friendly. Good location for local bars and restaurants and sightseeing

    5
« Value priced place to stay »

The rooms are done up very nice with central air so you don't get annoyed by the blower. Parking is under the hotel. The room corridors are open around a central courtyard with a large pool. Only drawback to the property is the slowest elevator in the city being at this hotel. The breakfast room is on the second floor so we walked down the stairs from our third floor room. No rooms on the first floor as it is just the lobby, elevator and the parking lot. Staff at the front counter were what every hotel should strive for. They are personable, fun, knowledgeable, and willing to help out in any way. That, and the decor of the rooms make this place a Plus,Plus!

    5
« best value, great location »

This BW is located within a short 10 minute walk to the Capitol and Convention Center. Comfortable bed, great complimentary breakfast and very friendly staff. Hotel offers a pool ad the rooms facing the pool are very pleasant, with patios on the deck. Another nice feature is having a refrigerator and microwave in the room.

    4
    « Great hotel »

This is a good hotel, we were here when temperatures were very hot and we found that our room was kept lovely and cool by the air conditioning but also because of the shade afforded by the external walkways round the pool. The staff re extremely friendly and helpful. Weekend rates were advantageous and Sacramento is great.

    5
« great place to stay »

this has a very wonderful staff super nice and always a smile they go out of there way to help anyway they can. the breakfast they have has a great selection of hot or cold and a lot of fresh fruit I will only stay here when I go to sacramento it is close to everything

    4
    « Very Good Hotel »

Nice hotel to stay at within walking distance of places to eat. Hotel staff were very helpful. Very close to State Capitol and other major downtown places. For the price of the hotel, it's quite a nice place to stay.

    « Free Parking! »

I was here for a women's conference with two friends. Last year we stayed at a motel quite a ways away from the Convention Center and had a hard time finding parking. The Sutter House was convenient, clean, comfortable, and gave us free parking not only for the Friday night we stayed but for the next day as well. Yippee! The breakfast was very nice-- I always appreciate protein such as eggs and sausage. I'll be staying here next year as well!

    5
    « Great Hotel »

This hotel was a very good value for Sacramento. The service was excellent and staff was helpful with the questions that I had. The breakfast was hot with a very good selection of item. located very near the Convention Center and Old Sacramento.

    5
    « Clean »

A very good, clean room and a very nice continental breakfast. A quiet area with a small restaurant/bar very near. We walked to Old Sacramento (about 11 blocks) and the State Capitol building was about seven blocks.

    5
« Lovely hotel in a good location »

We stayed for two nights. The room was lovely with two comfortable queen size beds. The breakfast was continental but plenty to have. Staff were friendly. Nice pool, area. There is free parking here which is a great added bonus. It is a 20 minute walk to Old Town Sacramento.

    5
    « Best Stay Ever »

Everything was perfect from the check in to our check out. The staff was pleasant, helpful, caring, kind, professional, etc. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Not only was the room smoke free but the premises was smoke free. the next time we find that we need to stay overnight in Sacramento we will stay at the Best Western Sutter House.

    5
« Good hotel, very convenient »

Within walking distance of the majority of attractions. Decent breakfast, normal waffle machine, breads, fruit, cereal most hotels have. Liked being able to park in central city without extra charge. Clean and friendly front desk person.

    5
    « Fitted sheets! »

This place is very nice. Nicely appointed, great breakfast, clean and FITTED sheets. Who has fitted sheets?! Bed wasn't that comfortable though. ?? The staff was helpful and very nice. Great location too.

    4
« They Do Well with an Old Facility »

This building has been around a long time but the rooms are clean and well appointed. Room has a mini-bar and microwave. There is an outdoor pool that is fine to use. The breakfast was solid, hot and cold, but in a rather dark room. Front desk staff were welcoming, pleasant, and helpful. And here's a touch I have never seen in a hotel of this mid-range category. When I walked into my room for the first time, the AC had made the air fresh but not too cold and the radio was playing softly a classical music station. A very strong first impression.

    5
    « Nice hotel........... »

great place to stay. very comfortable, great service....clean, very nice room, excellent people working at hotel, housekeeping very nice people....Definitely would book again in future..Close to Old Town, and great deli a block away Tony's.... Overall, a relaxing stay fro the two day stay....

    5
    « Exceptional »

The hotel is located in central Downtown. Park your car in the covered/shaded garage and walk to Downtown sights. While the architecture is 50s style, the property is very well maintained and wherever possible has been upgraded with contemporary features -- LED lights make the bathroom bright, the towels are large and plush, the bedding is high thread count and speaks luxury. Everything is clean. Quiet. Friendly and welcoming staff. WiFi works perfectly. Excellent air conditioning. Usual spread of Best Western breakfast items. With the impressive upgrade of elements and the welcoming staff this is a property due the most "stars" possible.

« Darling outdoor pool and patio area! »

My sister and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Sutter House in August . We were quite pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The lobby was welcoming. Our room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfy. Nice to be in a roomy room! The staff were friendly and very helpful with directions and information. The pool and surrounding patio area were lovely! We sat outside to read and just enjoy the day. The location was great for us. There is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel. Not part of Best Western but convenient. We had lunch there. The food was ok but the atmosphere was a little tacky. We had a short 4 block walk to the state capital. The tour is free and interesting. It's a short drive to the Sacramento Zoo. I would definitely stay here again! Our only negative was that the TV didn't have an on screen guide!

    5
    « Wonderful »

My family and I highly recommend this hotel and their staff to others. It was a great experience every time we have stayed there. This will be our hotel of choice every time we go to visit our son at Sac State.

    5
« The Best, Best Western ever! »

We had a wonderful experience here. The receptionists were very courteous and friendly, the room beautiful and comfortable, the restaurant staff and food excellent and so convenient. We stay at Best Westerns whenever possible and this one is wonderful. It definitely deserves the PLUS designation. We'll be back!

    3
    « Scratchy sheets »

Very nice hotel, centrally located, easy walking distance to everything. Up and coming area. Convenient location to many restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are immaculately clean and up to date with brand new bed and furnishings. The only problem that I had was the scratchy bed sheets. Their bedsheets although they're being changed everyday are all worn out and very scratchy. I think this would have been fine if I was only spending a night or two but spending a whole week with scratchy sheets was just simply horrible experience for me. I would have given this hotel a higher rating had it not for the scratchy sheets which cost me many sleepless nights. I almost wanted to go out and buy my own sheets at the store. But I am here on business and have no time to do it. Wish we didn't have to give up our manufacturing to 3rd world countries. This is what we get inferior products that don't last and fall apart on us. Everybody pays the price in the end for cheap stuff.

    5
« A nice hotel for the value »

We enjoyed the hotel and would certainly return. The staff are very friendly. We walked to Old Sacramento and the walk was about 15 minutes. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit unsettling so we took Uber back to the hotel. The room was nice and very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast...Nothing fancy but good.

    5
    « Great location, service »

Great location, great service. Friendly staff. Nice, clean rooms. Breakfast could have more healthy meal choices but you will be able to get something to get you going until lunch. Many other hotels in downtown area but if you pick this one, just as nice as any place else. Easy parking and adjoining restaurant with good service and good food.

    5
« Great welcome and quality hotel »

Nicely located hotel near the city center of Sacramento Professional welcome and personnel dedicated to the client Breakfast with various choice and product of very good quality On top, nice sweaming pool in the middle of the hptel where you can enjoy some quiet time

    5
« Great location, good for conferences »

I used the Best Western's conference room for a deposition that i was taking. The conference room was great, and much bigger and more accommodating than the conference room I used on a previous occasion at the Four Points near the Sacramento Airport. I wound up booking a hotel room for one night, and I had a great stay overall. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were subpar, but the breakfast was otherwise pretty decent, especially for a free breakfast. I love the waffle maker! The front desk staff were friendly. Though there was some confusion and mix-up over my check-out time, the staff did their best to resolve the situation as efficiently as possible. This location is conveniently located to restaurants and bars in downtown Sacramento. I didn't use their gym, but they do have one (although it's minimal). I'm disappointed I didn't get a chance to use the pool!

    4
    « Nice Stay »

A very nice hotel for the rate you pay. The Staff is very warm and friendly as they greet you and check you in. Very secure and safe with a restaurant and full bar next door .......or you can explore other nearby restaurants.

    5
« Great All The Way Around »

We've stayed at this property many times in the past and for good reason. Staff are friendly and professional, location is fabulous, rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is great. I highly suggest this hotel if you find yourself in the downtown area of Sacramento.

  • 5
    « Family Friendly »

I was pleased with the pool side room and the inner corridors of the hotel. I felt safe and secure while traveling alone with two children. I was glad the hotel was within walking distance of the capital and the old town area.

    5
    « Great Location/Great Room »

The hotel has recently been renovated with bright colors in the interior with a Key West meets Northern Cal look. The staff was very friendly, too. We arrived about 1.5 hours before check in and they were able to accommodate us with early check in without hassle or groans. Our room overlooked the pool, which was the perfect temperature and offered the opportunity to just hang out and enjoy the weather, as well as a relaxing dip. The parking was free and in a garage, which was a great bonus for such an urban property. My only suggestion would be to request a poolside, 1st floor room. They have sliding doors which open up to the poolside with a table and two chairs. The breakfast was your standard, free hot breakfast you get from a hotel. But with most hotels offering free breakfast the room was packed in the morning making it difficult to get any food. The bed was SOOOO comfortable, too. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone!

    5
    « Beautiful. »

The hotel was beautiful. I loved walking in the room and having jazz play. First expression was a 10 if not 11. The beds were super comfy and cozy! I slept amazing, Def a good hotel to stay at, I would recommand the Sutter House to anyone.

    5
    « Comfortabel stay. »

We had an enjoyable time staying at this hotel. There were no problems. The location was very convenient to the conference location and other amenities. Public transportation was accessible. Given the opportunity, we will stay again.

    4
« Very comfortable one night stay in sunny Sacremento »

We stayed one night here in June and have to say it was a very comfortable experience . On arrival we were met by a very friendly receptionist which is always one's first experience of any hotel .So a good first impression .Our bedroom was very comfortable and quiet looking onto a very clean swimming pool . The situation is well placed for central Sacremento with the Capitol a short walk and old Sacremento a short distance further . The hotel's accompanying restaurant is also good value with friendly service . All in all we rather wished we had spent 2 nights .

    5
« awesome front desk staff »

Front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and clean. I didn't use the pool, but the whole pool area looked nice. I even emailed them for airport shutle advice and promptly received several options and prices of local services. The complimentary breakfast was an average hotel breakfast.

    4
« Nice, reasonably priced with EXCELLENT service »

Nice, clean quiet hotel, a few short blocks from Convention Center. Super pleasant employees. Good breakfast room, very clean pool, safe parking (the area is a little sketchy at night). They allowed me to leave my vehicle in the covered parking area during the last day of my conference (after I checked out) saving me $$ parking. However, it was the staff that made the stay so positive for me.

    4
    « Comfortably unique »

The best asset of this hotel was the close proximity to restaurants and attractions - it's right in the city center! For being in the center, it is quite comfortable and quiet, and despite certain flaws to the interior of the room (it was not very tidy), the sophistication of the interior design made up for that very slight flaw. Other than that, I quite enjoyed my stay.

    4
    « Comfortable »

This is a nice stay, close to everything in the downtown area. Bed was comfortable, desk staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was clean and well maintained, and tasty for a typical hotel breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!

    5
« Fantastic Place to Stay »

I booked a room with this hotel while trying to plan a last minute trip to Sacramento to visit family. I did not do any research on this specific property but I had a general idea about what to expect as I too work for Best Western. I was very impressed with our room as far as the decor and its size. The bathroom was modern and gorgeous. I have stayed in hotels that charge more a night but they do not offer nearly as many (if at all) free amenities such as breakfast and wifi. Another plus, the location of the hotel is close to the Capital building and Old Sac.

  • 5
    « Overnight stay »

Rooms were clean and tidy. Location quiet and only a few blocks and stroll to centre and old Sacramento. Great overnight stay, staff were friendly - great coffee shop across the road. Restaurant had lovely Tapas and good al a carte menu. Pool was excellent.

    4
« Upgraded and safe right in city center Sacramento »

GPS found the hotel easily and check in was quick. Having access to the elevator be only through the lobby seemed like an inconvenience, but we came to realize it's a security plus. Room was very nice, large, up scale bathroom sink. Comfortable bed, refrigerator, good wifi, big work desk, hot water and a nice breakfast. A couple of waffle stations, foods spread out so traffic flow was good. Oranges and apples were the fruit and several choices for those of us watching their carbs. Convenient to the downtown and old town, six or eight blocks to the freeway, so it would work to go to the airport or the arena. We'd stay here again.

    5
« Beautiful, Comfortable, Clean, Friendly »

Staff were friendly and helpful, there was soft music playing in my room when I entered. The room was clean and nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of accessible outlets for charging my many devices. Breakfast was quality (especially the eggs and sausage!)

    4
« Nice, Clean and Reasonable Hotel in Downtown Sacramento »

This hotel has done a nice job with decor and atmosphere so that it feels more like an upscale hotel. It's a nice find in the downtown Sacramento area and close to everything. It's a good value compared to the big hotel brand alternatives.

    5
    « Great stay! »

Many thanks for a wonderful experience at Sutter House! Friendly, helpful staff made for a great stay. The hotel was clean and well-appointed, convenient to many of the venues we were visiting on this stay. We appreciated having such a nice place to lay our heads each night.

    4
    « Good value »

I stayed here for one night with my two small children (1 and 4) and my mom. The staff was extremely helpful, the pack and play was all set up, they easily answered questions, and helped me with extra items I needed. The location is fine in downtown Sac, convenient to some tourist activities like the Capitol. My only complaint is that both my mom and I thought the mattresses felt old and somewhat uncomfortable.

    5
« Excellent Old World Service in Sacramento, CA »

Will stay at this location again. Downtown Sacramento is a surprise and delightful for its government offices, museums, parks and tourist attractions. The pool, the breakfast and the flat walking/riding offer much in the way of live ability inside the city. You don't need a car when you stay here.

    4
    « Great location »

We were pleased at the large room, refrigerator, and coffeemaker, a must for me. We were able to park our car and walk everywhere including meetings. We found a great happy hour with $6 margaritas and $5 for 3 generous tostadas. Maya had a lovely outdoor patio not far from the hotel. Missed cheese omelettes, bacon and already made oatmeal that Hampton Inns provide, but our son enjoyed his pancake. Plenty of fruit, yogurt and cereal to start the day. We will return, as General MacArthur said.

I was on my way to a family wedding in Lake Tahoe and spent the night in Sacramento. I was meeting my husband the next morning at the airport where he was flying in from a business trip. Since I was by myself I wanted a decent hotel in a safe location and a reasonable price. I searched the internet and from their website I felt comfortable. Best decision I ever made. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and suggest anyone traveling through the Sacramento area to do the same. You will not be disappointed.

    « Great place! »

We stopped here for a night on our way to Disneyland. We were tired after 13 hours of driving and it was a super quick and easy check-in. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Our room opened up to the pool which our kids loved. The next morning we were pleasantly surprised by the HUGE continental breakfast. Waffles, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy and much, much more. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Free and safe parking was another bonus. There are many food and entertainment options just steps from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel without a doubt.

« Best Western Sutter House Inn »

Super friendly staff with professional attitudes. TV quality not great, but continue to stay due to enclosed access and security and overall cleanliness of room. Breakfast typical of what you see for a continental and has spacious dining area with again, friendly and helpful staff.

« Great Stay in Downtown Sacramento! »

Easily one of the best hotel stays I have experienced - worldwide. The property is absolutely amazing - rooms, pool, lobby, and covered garage parking . . . . all in downtown Sacramento. The adjacent restaurant and nearby convenience of the downtown atmosphere cannot be beat. Any repeat visits to the area will DEFINITELY include utilizing this hotel.

« Prejudice front desk employee, Not good business »

It took me a couple of months to collect my thoughts, My name is William Jackson I have a few co workers that love staying at the Sutter House. I walked in the lobby asking for any availabilty without a reservation, Vicki was her name quickly shouted out we are sold out sorry. So I walked back to the car where my co-worker was waiting, I then asked him to walk in without a reservation & she quickly checked him into a room for him. I waited outside to cool off because I was really upset.I have have dreads a little over weight & I am a black man she stereo typed me probably being a homeless person. I work for the government. I finally came back into the lobby shifts had just changed. I approached a black woman at the desk and explained to her what had just happened, she apologized & the look on her face she was very embarrassed. I asked her for her managers name & she handed me a business card. I have called twice to the general mgr & never a response, unless she have someone else listening & following up on messages she would have heard the anger in my voice. If I ever stay again I will definitely make sure Ms.Yvette is working, the two days we stayed she apologized every time she saw me. Thanks for letting me vent. I don't expect a email or a phone call from the hotel. I know Vicki was being judgemental. You need to have more professional employees like Ms.Yvette

    « Great staff! »

I've been staying here for the past 4 months one day a week. Every time I check in Yvette is there to greet me. she's so nice and easy to work with! The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. All of the staff is nice. Anita is always there for breakfast.. Probably the only improvement I would make is to offer different things for breakfast. They always have the same thing - waffles and continental breakfast items. Although, it does say "continental breakfast!" Some of the other BWs offer different things each day.

« Air conditioning broken; no staff communicated anything »

May 31, 2016. It's 103 degrees today. Yesterday was 99 degrees. Air Conditioning is broken. Staff hasn't communicated anything, like when repairs to system can be expected, hasn't offered any waters, no snacks. No call with other accommodations offered. Not even an apology. No housekeeping service on Monday memorial holiday. Staff hasn't offered to open continental breakfast room items. How much is a case of water, ice cream, snacks. Geez. Unbelievable.

« Best Western MINUS Sutter House »

I expected more out of Best Western Plus. It's located in bit of a sketchy downtown neighborhood with loud motorcycles and bums around at night. The room was roomy BUT the air-conditioning system continually broke down and repairs did not last. Needless to say, this was a nuisance, especially when breakdowns occurred after midnight, interrupting sleep. Can't Best Western maintain their critical A/C equipment? This was May, several months before REALLY hot weather arrives. On the positive side, the continental breakfast was pretty good and location about 1/2 mile from Old Sacramento and a few hundred yards from the State Capitol building & grounds.

    « Very good stay »

The main advantages are the central location (walking distance to the Capitol, Cathedral, etc.) and the newly remodeled rooms and hallways. It was also very quiet, which is important for us. The continental breakfast was above average, with good coffee. Detracting somewhat from the experience were the small size of the room, the plain exterior of the hotel, the cramped garage, and the presence of a few hairs in the bathtub. But the overall experience was very positive. The staff were friendly without being pushy, and the central courtyard (with pool at bottom) was a pleasant place to relax. Another plus: the AC was a new central air unit, easy to use and very effective, much better than those loud clunky metal units you still see around sometimes.

« Only if you want superior service and super wi-fi »

This property has been upgraded and deserves designation as a Premier Plus Best Western. Best wi-fi I have ever experienced at a hotel, bar none. Room was immaculate and was ready for occupancy...nice and cool on a hot Sacramento day. What makes this a great location is the consistency of the staff from the manager to the clerks to the food room workers. I would not hesitate to stay here whenever I had business in Sacramento. The bed was very comfortable with way above average pillows. Towels were first rate. If I quibbled, I would say that the soap could definitely be better...one small bar and not very elegant...gives them something to work on making better and helps me reach 200 characters.

« Great Hotel Downtown Sacramento »

If you're in Sacramento and looking for an affordable hotel, this is a perfect choice. The rooms are very clean with update decor. Upstairs pool and free wifi. I stayed with my family and I was very happy with it.

    5
    « Great stay »

We arrived late and left early due to commitments, however our stay couldn't have been better. Lovely big room and a comfortable bed. The decor is dated, but this didn't take anything away from our experience. The selection at breakfast was fantastic. Overall a great stay and we'd stay again.

    « Disappointed »

I expect a bit more out of Best Western. I found this property to be average although the front desk staff were very nice. Our room had a stain on the carpet and I found the room itself to feel dark, even with the drapes wide open. The open portion of the 2nd floor walkway appears to be tilted and this concerned me. Maybe this is to drain the walkway in the event of rain. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and bars but the area is a bit sketchy. The restaurant associated with the hotel closes at 10:00 so if you want to enjoy a drink or snack after an event, be prepared to walk a few blocks..

    5
« WALKING DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING »

Located in the heart of Sacramento, almost all tourist destinations are within easy walking or trolly distance. Many homeless as you walk about but they keep to themselves. Night time safe to see the capital all lit up or go out for dinner. Staff VERY friendly and helpful at any hour of the day. Quiet rooms day and night.

    5
    « Sweet! »

This hotel was perfectly located near when I needed to be for business, the rooms were clean and the staff was amazingly helpful and considerate. Would recommend! Loving the pool in the center, although I didn't get a chance to use it this time :(

    « Sacramento gem »

Great bargain and excellent amenities for the Sacramento area. Love the attention to detail such as hygienic TV remote. Excellent service and great value. Motel has complimentary breakfast and dependably fast Internet plus free parking. Rooms appear recently remodeled.

    4
    « Qucik weekend trip »

The reception staff was very friendly and attentive. We checked in late and she made sure we had a room that best fit our needs. The breakfast was somewhat skimpy, basic continental breakfast. There were lots of volleyball players over the weekend. Parking lots are very small but we appreciated the free parking. We will consider staying at this hotel again. Close to restaurants.

    3
    « Small improvement needed »

Room air quality impacted by clogged air filters in the ceiling. Don't walk to Old Town Sacramento; homeless, bail bond business offices everywhere, courts, and tons of smokers on the sidewalks. Rooms are very nice, plenty of extra large pillows, bed is comfy, bath has a very nice shower head, and the breakfast room is well kept. Good coffee.

    4
    « Better than I Was Expecting »

Honestly I didn't have high expectations for our hotel this weekend in Sacramento, but when I opened the door to our room I was pleasantly surprised. At first, I was a bit worried, and a bit relieved based on the neighborhood, when you could only get to the rooms by going through the lobby elevator. The elevator was small and slow, and walking to our room from the elevator we passed through a central open area with the pool in the center. There were people at the pool blasting music and being generally loud. I was glad to discover our room was on the side away from the pool (but on the street). The room seemed to have been recently remodeled with nice linens on the beds. The bathroom was very nicely fitted The location was great. Right near the Capitol building and the convention center.

    4
    « Just fine »

Sutter House BW is well located; very close to the capitol, city hall, downtown shops, and convention center and with free parking, a truly good deal. Even walking distance to old town, Crocker Museum, and even more shopping -- if the weather is just right. Had room w/ outside window only on 2nd floor; quiet, just fine for a quick overnight. IHome for docking my phone -- lots of pillows and comfy bed. Pool looked fine for families. Best surprise: with the complimentary breakfast they serve biscuits and gravy, and you can self make Belgian waffles.

    4
« Great for Short Stay in Sac »

This hotel is conveniently located in Midtown, walking distance to loads of great restaurants, clubs, convention center, memorial auditorium and even the Capitol. We stayed 1 night for an event at the convention center. Our 2 queen room was small and strangely laid out, but clean, updated and quiet. The price was competitive and the included breakfast was generous. My only real gripe is that, when I arrived, there was no parking in the garage. I had specifically chosen a hotel that had parking because it can be a nightmare to park on the street in Sac.! I ended up parking 3 blocks away and walking to my room after dark.

    4
« Older but Very Good »

Although this is an older hotel, they have updated the rooms and the rooms are now very up to date. Not fancy, but nice. The breakfast selection was the best I have seen for hotels with breakfast places. The elevator is small but fairly fast. Desk clerk gave good information to all who asked. Business Center Computers use Windows System 7 -could be updated, but worked fine for printing a boarding past, AND the clear on duty was very helpful to another person who was unfamiliar with how to print a pass.

  • 5
« Convenient and updated in the middle of downtown! »

We were pleasantly surprised when we stayed at this Best Western in the middle of downtown Sacramento. It was clean, updated, not noisy (until the weekend, and the noise was brief). I was in town for a funeral, and it was a very pleasant place to come back to every night!

    5
    « Great stay »

We attended a tournament at the convention center and I thought this hotel was a great choice. It was walking distance and because they offered free breakfast, free wireless and free parking it was a great deal! The bed was super comfortable too. We would have spent double the cost at one of the larger hotels. We had a room off the pool and the kids thought that was cool.

    4
« when in mid town!!! »

One night stay on business!! Very comfortable and quiet room. Superb staff greeting me upon arrival. Large and welcoming room with all the amenities (Fridge, etc.) Only complaint is the small breakfast room and the choices. Biscuits and warm gravy?? Really?? Also, too small for the families that also stay here as kids jostled to get the food and the juices. I finally left and went somewhere else.

    4
    « Pleasantly surprised »

For some reason, Best Western Plus has been off my radar in the past. I chose this hotel purely for it's location, and was pleased to discover that the hotel was a nice place. Clean, quiet, everything worked. Staff were very polite. No complaints, and I'd stay there again if I needed to travel to the area again.

    5
« Great place to stay midtown »

This is a quiet hotel, looks older, but well updated. The staff are extremely helpful and nice. The location is very central for us, also close to our favorite restaurant in Sac, The Melting Pot. The only bad thing would be the slow internet connection, but that seems to be the norm with hotels.

    5
« Right in the heart of downtown Sacramento »

For the park advocacy day meetings at the Sacramento Convention Center, and meetings at the Capitol, you need to be close the action - Best Western Sutter House has a good location, a nice restaurant, light rail across the street, and it is an easy walk to many shops and cafes, and the Capitol itself. The rooms are in the heart of town, but quiet. Everything very clean and up to date. A great value for this area.

    4
« Nice clean room, colorful curtain »

After a long line to check in (bad timing on our part, people from a conference were also checking in), the room is comfortable & clean. As another reviewer mentioned, open restaurants are limited in the downtown area- maybe especially on a Monday evening. Free parking & wifi are available. Standard continental breakfast.

    3
« Not good for females traveling alone »

I travelled to Sac on business (alone) on 4-25 to 4-27 and stayed here 2 nights. I arrived at 10:30pm and asked the clerk to point me to restaurant. He advised that restaurants close early in "Sacratomato" (even fast food) and my only choice was the 7-11 a few blocks away. There were no people on the streets and very little cars. There is a homeless problem in the area because I ran across no less than 15 homeless people sleeping in doorways. When I returned, there was a homeless man crouched on the ground 10 ft from the lobby entrance. I did not feel safe. The downstairs rooms also have sliders to a patio - another point of entrance. The walls and ceilings are VERY thin. I was able to understand the conversations of my neighbors. Breakfast was mediocre (make your own waffles was nice), the room was clean, but dark. It is a typical budget hotel in a bad area of town.

    5
« nice service and dog friendly »

Great location with a 15 minute walk to old town. I got to bring my little dog and the room was super comfy and clean. Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast looked good and plentiful too, and the pool area clean and relaxing. Most of all it was quiet and that is very important to me!

I had a very nice stay here, close in location to Old Town Sacramento.... nice room, colorful furnishings, great toiletries, ,easy parking.. I was on the pool level and could have walked from my room straight to the pool. It was quiet.. I'd stay here again in a heart beat !!!

« Open Air-Clean-Friendly Staff and Awesome Breakfast »

Best Western Sutter House in Sac offers fresh air, poolside room, clean, comfy bed and the best breakfast set up you can ask for. There is a lot of wonderful places to eat nearby and the surrounding area feels safe and it's overall a wonderful place to stay! Coming back always!

    4
« Great location and value »

I was booked here because the "premium" hotel was full up. My colleagues were jealous - my room is larger and I get a pool! Awesome for this 90+ heat. Front desk friendly, and the continental breakfast is packaged breads, bulk cereal, and yoplait. I would recommend skipping unless it's a family trip with kids.

« Great location, terrific room, extremely friendly and helpful staff. »

I chose this BW because it was close to the theater venue we were going to and we loved it. Great location near the K Street Mall, the Capitol, etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and very comfortable with a pretty view over the pool. Would definitely stay there again should our travels take us to that part of Sac.

« A great option to downtown stays »

Friendly, efficient, and clean. Even though you're in the heart of downtown, it was not noisy. The rooms were pleasant and a good value for the money. We checked in in the middle of the night after a very long flight, the staff was very helpful, accommodating, and quick to help us get in our room so we could sleep. Pleasantly surprised. Will stay here again.

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, well-located place in Sacramento - Sutter House is it! I loved the hotel, the staff, and my room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and the families who were there with children would surely recommend the pool area - they were having a BLAST!!!!

    « Great location & friendly staff! »

My boyfriend and I booked a room at this hotel for Valentine's Day. We had never stayed in Sacramento before so we didn't know what to expect. The hotel is in a GREAT location smack in downtown Sacramento with tons of restaurants and things to see / do all within walking distance of the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel welcomed. The room was clean and spacious. I only have two complaints. One being that the air conditioning unit in our room was extremely noisy and woke my boyfriend and I up each time it kicked on. My other complaint would be that there is only one vending machine with drinks on the first floor and the only vending machine with snacks is on the second floor. I think they should have both a snack and drink vending machine on each floor, preferably ones that won't rip you off and take your money like the one we used did. Other than that I would definitely stay here again and recommend my friends and family to stay as well!

    « Comfortable »

The beds are so comfortable - great pillows! The rooms are clean and set up nicely. There is a desk and also a chair to lounge in. Coffee, Refrigerator, and Microwave in room are a plus. I would like to note that Vickie went out of her way to make my stay special. Thank you!

    « Excellent stay! »

We went to Sacramento for Franklin Graham's national prayer for California in front of the Capitol building -- and after a day of standing and endless walking we were tired. We got room #140 - which was on the same floor as the swimming pool. Our room had a full patio door that opened up to the swimming pool deck with patio furniture right there to enjoy it! It was great! the hotel was nice and quiet. The front desk customer service was great...the only thing I missed was room service but there's a cocktail lounge right next door maybe I'll see if they have take out next time. But they do have a complimentary breakfast. Great stay!

    2
« Best Western Sutter House »

When making our reservation, we requested a quiet room. We know the hotel cannot guarantee what other guests habits are so make sure you are not on the first floor, ask for a room on the top floor. Our room was above where the trash truck picks up trash at 3:30 in the morning and the tire store across the alley had employee arriving at 7am and revving his engine. I know some of these issues are not the fault of the hotel but maybe the suggestion of an inside room would have made the stay better. The employee in the morning did not ask how our stay was, if so, I would have mentioned the issues.

« Great hotel in town »

Location is always the key, and this place has it. The staff is helpful and pleasant. The location is very good, with a great coffee place across the street, and a few blocks to walk to old town. We had our two dogs, and they we good about them. They just started taking pets, and our room was large enough for the crates our two sleep in without them being in the way.

    « Just OK »

Rooms were nice and clean. Generally quiet with the trolley running down one street along the side ( I would suggest you check room location when checking in). Wi-Fi was not existent---could not log in with ipad, called hotel's off-site tech support and was told they were giving out the wrong password at front desk. Was able to connect with laptop but not ipad due to access point issues according to support. My checklist of what makes a decent hotel with 10 being the best score: Cleanliness: 8 Shower water pressure: 4 Variety of TV channels: 6 Quiet: 6 Wi-Fi: 3 Although this hotel meet my business needs for two nights, there are plenty of other hotels to choose from.

    4
    « Well run place »

Quick one night turn around visit to SAC. All the hotel staff were friendly, helpful & patient. Don't try swimming in the pool in the winter it is solar powered so will be cold, unless you want that after a workout. Rooms were clean & well taken care of, good value in downtown. I use to work at a hotel as a summer job in-between school so I appreciate what it takes to make a place nice.

« Good value for the price »

You can't beat the location, just a short walk from Old Town Sacramento, the State Capitol, the Convention Center. The room we had was very clean and comfortable. The hot breakfast includes biscuits with gravy plus make-your-own waffles. And you can't beat the price! Only a few things that stop me from giving this place an Excellent rating -- the blackout curtains don't close all the way, and the walls are very thin so you can hear everything going on outside.

    2
    « Poor »

This hotel is in the heart of downtown Sacramento. While the location is good, and has the convenience of a restaurant next door, the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. The walls are thin, so you hear everything occurring in your neighbors room, and the windows don't seem to keep any of the street noise out. Maid service is hit and miss so don't expect to return to your room and find it ready to go.

    « Wonderful stay »

Wonderful stay at the Best Western Plus Sutter House. Front desk staff were very helpful and responsive. Deluxe continental breakfast was great (different cereals, bagels, toast, muffins, waffles, biscuits, juice, coffee, yogurt etc). Breakfast staff were also very nice and helpful. Free daily newspaper. Outdoor sun heated pool decent size. Nice exercise room. Room with micro and fridge, tv, free wifi (worked well), very comfortable bed, average water temperature. Computer also available in front lobby for printing if needed.

Excellent location, just 5 mins walk to State Capitol & other downtown sites. Free breakfast & wifi. Friendly staff & good equipment. Also free parking which is certainly a plus in Sacramento Downtown. Really nothing to complain and everything is just good.

    4
    « Good Location! »

This is a nice hotel to stay at if you have business at the Capitol. It is only 4 blocks from the Capitol with no turns and there's free parking. The restaurant on the property is reasonably priced and has good service and good food. Breakfast is included, but the fresh fruit consists of just apples and oranges to peel and eat.

« Best Bargain at Best Western Plus »

We stayed at Sutter House on February 5 and 6, 2016, while in Sacramento for our grandson's baptism. The location was within walking distance of the California State Railroad Museum and Old Town and next to a light rail stop. (Request a room facing the pool or away from the light rail if you are sensitive to noise.) There was plenty of free parking with cameras for security. Our room was tastefully decorated. Free breakfast included hard boiled eggs, plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles, and plenty of beverages. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and delicious food at the hotel's restaurant, Blue Prynt.

    « staying again »

We stayed here a white back for 9 nights. It was so quiet at night, the rooms are lovely and the breakfast was so good, plenty to choose from. We are heading to Sacramento again this year and will be staying there again. It is central to everything, even walked to Old Sacramento from there.

« If you are looking for seamless 24 hour service this is the Best! »

The amazing thing about staying at Sutter house is the consistently excellence service inside the hotel, and the great suggestions given for newcomers to this incredible town with many unknown resources and activities for visitors, kids, and the elderly to make the stay even better. All the staff are sincerely friendly and ready to assist with local information and needs.

    « Comfortable »

We stopped here on our way to Palm Springs with our dog. The hotel is right downtown. There is a single entrance on the ground level and the rooms are on the next two levels with a courtyard pool in the centre. The reception was pleasant and quick. The pet friendly room was freshly renovated and was modern and sleek, apart from the kindergarten painting in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty quiet for a downtown location, except for the street car that clanged by regularly. With the windows closed it was not too intrusive. Breakfast was OK with waffles, cereal, etc and not very appetizing microwave breakfast burritos. Overall it was an acceptable experience and I would be content to stay there again.

    4
    « Business Trip »

I would stay here again, room was clean and very close to down town. Very friendly staff and plenty of parking, which is great when you have meetings down town. Location to all the action is great and you can leave your car in their parking lot the next day so you don't have to find parking later.

« The Sutter House Best Western »

We stayed at the Sutter House New Year's Eve because it was close to the Crest theater as we were seeing a show. I was so excited when we arrived, it was so close and very nice. The room was great, the bed & pillows even better. The staff were funny and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and return.

« Nice room, area a little sketchy »

The room was nice and the front desk person was pleasant. It was great to be able to walk to Old town Sacramento. We walked back to the hotel at around 10:30pm, saw several characters that made us uncomfortable, and one followed us talking to us from behind. I think during the day, walking would be fine.

« Small room, but good otherwise »

We were disappointed in the size of the room because we stayed at Best Western Pus in Oakland, where the rooms are spacious and lovely. That was a bit disappointing, but everything else was very good. The pool, the continental breakfast, the staff - all were great!

« Easy to stay here when in Sacramento »

All of the staff where attentive to the needs of a meeting we conducted in one of the small conference rooms and arranged out group rooms with no flaws at all. Rooms were right in line with price. The hotel is small but has all you need or a business stay. Walking distance to everything made it great choice and value

    « Best stay ever! »

From the friendly, knowledgeable, professional staff to the generous rooms and perfect downtown location, the Sutter House is perfect. Although we didn't use it, there is a large covered garage area, so no problem with parking downtown. Security is excellent. There is a very nice continental breakfast available every morning. I can't think of anything lacking, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. Bravo, Sutter House.

This was a great place to stay. Clean, nice very polite staff! Perfect location, perfect for walking to everything. Nothing fancy, but perfect for the price. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance, capital, lots of great architecture in the neighborhood and can easily walk to old town area.

Very friendly front desk, well decorated rooms, I suggest the interior rooms around the pool, easy access to everything downtown. My family visited and thought it was nice boutique hotel. Easy parking , has elevator so you can do stairs or not and lots of info. in lobby about area and things to do, close to light rail.

    « Excellent place to Stay !! »

We were very impressed with the staff and amenities of Best Western - Sutter House Hotel. The rooms are extremely well appointed and the beds are beyond comfortable. I don;t remember when I've had this comfortable a stay in quite some time. The staff was extremely helpful with all our requests and made every effort possible to assist us when requested to do so. The value is the best balance I've ever seen in a hotel. unprecedented return for my money. We will always recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the greater Sacramento area. We will return to this hotel from now on when we come to visit family and friends in the area. BRAVO, Best Western !!

    « Beautiful Sacramento »

The staff was friendly and helpful; the room was immaculate and the food in the breakfast room was very good. The restaurant on the premise was top class and the location couldn't be beat. The hotel was within walking distance to the train, and the hotel was in an excellent location, close to the state capital and many restaurants and businesses.

    « Great location »

Great hotel right in downtown area. Plenty of parking, and walking distance to downtown attractions. Very clean, and the staff was friendly. The elevator was just a little scary because it's an older building, and it made cracking/ popping noises when going between floors, but I'm sure that's what it's supposed to sound like, being an older elevator. Even though the building is older, it has been renovated. Although no eggs or meat at the free breakfast, the breakfast attendant did an excellent job. We would definitely stay again.

« vehicle break in and motel manager response »

Our vehicle in the motel parking lot, along with four other vehicles, were broken into, and the break-ins were caught on motel cameras. Between the damages (replacing broken rear window) and minor missing items, total was around $800. The gentleman behind the desk was very courteous, told us the hotel would pay for the damages, and we filled out a form for the police report and for the insurance company that insures best western. We contacted the motel manager a couple days later to follow up. She was quite condescending and patronizing and kept repeating over and over again that the motel is not liable. This is a so-so area of downtown Sacramento, a lot of transients in the area. In this case, though, the cameras clearly caught two guys pulling up in a vehicle, getting out, casing vehicles and then breaking in to them. A security fence with a card reader on the parking lot entrances would have made it more difficult for the thieves to operate in this manner. In any event, the way the manager dealt with the situation was unacceptable. if this is the corporate policy of BW management, will never stay at any best western again. as to sleep quality, the people staying in the room next to us were quite loud. i went next door to ask them to keep the noise down, which they did. however the walls seem to be quite thin.

« Definite Return Visit in Future »

We were very pleased with the service, location, comfort, cleanliness and appearance. We were there to attend a conference in Sacramento at the Sleep Train Arena which was just a few miles North on the Freeway. We were just about a mile from Old Town Sac. in the City. Would definitely stay there again.

    « Good Choice »

We enjoyed this BW better than another one we stayed at in Sacramento years ago. The room was nicely appointed, quiet and the bedding comfortable. The location is also convenient. We would definitely return.

« Good Choice for Business »

excellent rooms, good quick breakfast, helpful staff convenient location near government offices and capitol free parking and convenient for pickup trucks Public parking in Sacaramento is expensive and not as secure as BW

« Surprising Comfort and value »

Compared to the high-rise hotels just a few blocks down in Sacramento, Sutter House exceeded in value and comfort. Convenient location in downtown with free parking made it that much better. We were needing a place to stay due to construction on our house that went longer than anticipated and this was a great home-away-from-home.

    « Good quality/price hotel »

The Sutter House has a very good location near the city attraction. They offer free breakfast as part of Best Western member, we love the pancake maker. The rooms have views to the pool. The room as the bathroom are big. There is free private parking. Cons: we stayed in a room that it is connected to another for a door, I don't know if it have all rooms like this but we don't feel as a private room. The cleanliness was poor. Good for one night like we stayed

« As Before, A Great Place to Stay »

Needed a stay for one night for a business meeting and chose this Best Western Plus again, as it was a great find the first time around in a perfect, central location in downtown Sacramento. Parking is free and on-site which is another perk. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and there is free WiFi. This property offers a free continental breakfast and it too was excellent, had plenty of choices, and the breakfast room was spotless. The staff was very professional, friendly, and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

« Great retro boutique hotel! »

Stayed here after a bad experience at The Citizen Hotel. Clean, warm, charming, hot and cold breakfast items, restaurant next door and a great coffee shop across the street. This place is great and I'll be here again!

« Great Place to Stay for Leisure in Sacramento! »

First time in the city, we came in mostly for a basketball game but wanted to see tourist highlights. The hotel's location is ideal for the Capitol, Old Town Sacramento, and is a great property. Staff was amazing. We got a complimentary upgrade upon check in without asking and lots of recommendations of things to see and do! Free breakfast is above and beyond what most places do these days! I also did have to do some work and the room had comfortable business desk that was ideal for that purpose. Highly recommend!

    « Not a Plus Hotel »

I picked this hotel last minute, thought it would be ok. It was super expensive for a best western and would of been ok had the hotel been nice but it wasn't. Let me start with the beds they were horrible. Couldn't sleep all night not to mention the buses stopping all night. The room was small, dirty and uncomfortable. Do yourself a favor go elsewhere. Nothing good about this motel.

    « Great downtown location »

Excellent service, very clean rooms. Downtown location was great for a good variety of restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had an excellent variety of foods to choose from. Would definitely stay there again!

    « One Week Vacation »

The service was ok. The carpet look pretty soiled. Room service was lacking, room service not done two days in a row. Left room around 10:00 am returned to the room around 1:00 pm and requested service I was told it was too late. When room was serviced it was not vacuumed, glasses not changed, coffee not replaced. When asked for clean towels, told there aren't any. Location good, down town and close to freeways. Although this hotel is in a good location I will not return because of overall lack of service and lack of cleanliness.

« Recommended. Good Value. Great staff. »

Older style hotel in terms of design and materials, but it over-achieves in every way, especially for the rate. Wonderful staff. They are doing more with less. I would certainly stay here again when in town.

    « Comfortable »

I needed a last minute reservation for an overnight stay. The accepted my government rate. The staff not only was eager to help but made the reservation process seamless. The room was clean and the amenities available.

    « One night wonder. »

We weren't in the room for more than the time it takes to get ready for an event, and then sleep after but had a very nice stay. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was quite nice. Felt a little weird with the open in the middle concept (where the pool was located) but we had no complaints.

« Good hotel in Sacramento »

Got a great deal on the room for 4 nights. Was in town for my partner to complete training. Room was 2 queen beds, one which we used for our suitcases. Comfortable rooms and beds. Light rail was just outside the hotel but barely heard it. Free breakfast each morning was substantial. Friendly staff. Easy walking distance to places to eat.

Our room was fantastic! The slider out to the pool was both wonderful and relaxing. The location to downtown and old town is awesome, you can walk almost anywhere. The weather at this particular time is perfect!

« Friendly, helpful staff, great location, lovely room! »

Upon arrival the concierge was friendly and quite helpful. The room was beautiful and clean. I wasn't able to partake of the free breakfast as I had meetings each morning, but it certainly smelled good as I passed by! Every desk clerk encountered was solicitous and friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I definitely recommend Best Western Sutter House and would stay again!

    « Pleasantly Surprised »

I was impressed with how clean and professional the facilities were. It was quiet and really nice. Flat screen tv, glass (not plastic) glasses, granite table/countertops, clean, spacious. This isn't the Best Western I knew from the 70s.

    « Was very Impressed! »

The hotel room was a big surprise. Beautiful decor and wonderfully comfortable beds and pillows! I did not expect much more than a basic room for the really great price they gave our agency. The free breakfast was very ample as well. I would definitely stay here again.

    « Super Customer Service »

We were greeted by well trained, friendly, helpful staff. The room was larger than I anticipated and was very clean. It had all the amenities that you'd want; small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, internet and TV. The bed and pillows were so comfortable that I slept soundly.

« Good place to stay »

It's close to the city center which is after office hours disturbingly empty but other than that it is a good place to explore the city. The lady at the front desk was very friendly with a nice sense of humor we felt very welcome. The hotel is maintained very well: no knocked off corners on furniture, no leaks in the shower and rooms are clean. My wife liked the special make up towel in red so that the white ones do not get color stains, what a nice idea. Room service was a bit lax: the just did the bed but nothing else we would loved to have just that make-up towel exchanged but well... Breakfast is BW standard with some selection of real fruits (nice). Notable difference: Metal silverware as an option to the always too soft and too small plastic versions, along with real coffee cups (really nice idea) creates a lot less plastic waste and one can actually cut a bagel in half with these...

« Hotel Nice. Blue Prynt restaurant, GREAT! »

Clean room, great staff and ideal location! The highlight of my stay however was having a restaurant downstairs with exceptional service, a GREAT beer selection and good food. Linda at the bar was extremely attentive and knowledgeable regarding the extensive local beer selection. The food was fresh and came out promptly. I'll be sure to visit the hotel as well as Blue Prynt of future business trips to Sacramento.

« Great place to stay! »

If your business takes you to Sacramento, you should consider this hotel for value, location, and quality. I would rate this the equal or better of any mid-tier hotel. Impressive was the helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the property, particularly the pool and the breakfast area, with great attention to detail.
