    « Excellent! »

Excellent customer service, which I somehow did not find easy in Italy. I changed my room twice for the view and the staff was not perturbed with it, in fact they were more than happy to help. The breakfast was my favorite part as you can see the staff smiling, energetic, and having fun while proactively tending to coffee and other requests. Great hotel!

    « Great Hotel »

Stayed for 3 nights for a romantic city break in Rome. Very easy to find and central to everything in Rome as you are right beside the metro, and Rome is easy to get around! The reception staff were very nice and helpful with dinner reservations and maps. The room was a bit small but very clean and modern. The bed was so comfortable, the TV had a good range of English channels and the shower was brilliant. We had breakfast one morning and it was only €3 per person which was great value for money as you got coffee, juice and a wide range of pastries, fruit and some hot food. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it was perfect for the few days away! Would definitely recommend

« Nice and what we need »

This hotel is really good .good rooms ,breakfast and near metro station (manzoni)just 30 or 40 meters and also near tram just 3 stop from closseu in rome and just 4 station from manzoni to barberini station where you visit central city attractions i sugested this hotel to every one

    3
« Reasonable hotel close to centre of Rome »

Close to centre of Rome metro outside and a few restaurants near by good priced bar and restaurant on site rooms comfortable but if on front traffic noise can interrupt a good nights sleep otherwise good value for money

    « Great Location »

We spent 10 nights here, Breakfast was a breeze and lots of choice for everyone. The metro, Buses and Trams are right outside the door. It couldn't be placed in a better position! I would certainly recommend the 7 day Pass for metro, trams and busses.

    « Functional hotel »

The hotel is nothing special but neither is it pricey by Rome standards. It is relatively out of the way but also quiet. We walked to the Borghese Gallery from there though went back by cab. The Colosseum is a short walk as is the Church of San Clemente. The dining room had private dinners both nights we were there but the bar has light fare. The breakfast was typical of what you would expect in a very international hotel. The desk and wait staff were good. No complaints here: the Hotel President is not a bad choice.

    « 3 nights in rome »

We have just returned from a 3 night visit to Rome with another couple staying at the Hotel President. From the outside it is not very attractive but that is where the negative comments end. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms with fresh linen/towels daily and an excellent choice of breakfast for all tastes from fresh fruit/pancakes/breads /cheeses/meats etc. 15 minutes walk from the Colleseum. If you did'nt want to walk very far ,the metro station outside and a tram stop around the corner made getting to all the other major attractions Pantheon,Spanish Steps, Vatican City etc so easy and a day ticket only 7 euros. ,

    « Not so nice »

The entree is sober as well as the bar. Rooms are vry small and noisy, you can hear neighboors making phinecalls. Only positive is staff. Very friendly and helpful. Location is not near centre, but 3 stops by underground.

« Good location great staff »

April 2016 I stayed here with a group. The hotel was easy to get to and within walking distance of many historic sites. It was across the street from the metro which made getting anywhere easy. The rooms were a good European size, clean and an excellent staff who were very. helpful.

    4
    « Great location »

Just a few steps away from the subway, 5 stops to get to the Spanish steps. From there a 10 minute walk to the Trevi fountain. There's a great little coffee, sandwich shop located on the corner right next to the subway entrance. The hotel room was very small, had to move the bed to get my suitcase on the floor. It was clean. I opened the window and could hear the church bells, so beautiful. They have a nice bar area to mingle before dinner. Food was pretty good. Stayed four nights, I would stay there again.

« Good location, good breakfast, thin walls »

This hotel is ten minutes walk from the Colosseum, and has metro, bus and tram stops very close by. An ideal location. The breakfast buffet is substantial and the staff friendly. The bar area is adequate, the prices reasonable and there is food available if you require something more casual than the restaurant. I would definitely stay here again. The only downside is that the bedroom walls are rather thin, so the person snoring in the room next to mine was hard to ignore, even when wearing ear plugs.

    3
    « Fair hotel »

Not good for single rooms,( these should be abolished ) you end up paying a premium for a room with your head right by the door. So so noisy, had a terrible time trying to sleep. A bit of a put off was having polystyrene cups in the room! good selection of tea, coffee herbal tea, but the cups! 4* come on. Felt the hotel was bit far out of the main city area's, did not like to travel alone at night on the Metro ot Tram, and the walk from the hotel to the Colosseum was a bit of a grim area at night ( very dark).

    5
    « Excellent »

Clean and good sized room with well equipped en-suite and efficient, professional staff. Wonderful breakfast with unobtrusive staff. Well situated with the Metro almost outside and trams and buses just round the corner. Plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance and a good restaurant and bar snacks bar in the hotel. Would stay there again. However it is on the edge of the city centre and one nearby street was pretty run down with semi derelict buildings, beggars and much graffiti. The hotel itself felt safe and secure and we felt perfectly safe when out in the evening.

    3
« Convenient and clean hotel »

Very clean and convenient hotel centrally situated. Very good selection for breakfast. However on checking out we were charged 16 euros for a bar bill. We had paid in cash after all meals and drinks there. My partner paid as did not want a dispute to spoil the end of the trip. We noticed that a couple next to us were questioning a bill saying they had paid! Not sure if this was a scam or just incompetence, but was a sour note on what was otherwise a very enjoyable trip.

« Nice Hotel close to the Colosseum »

My friends and I decided to come into Rome a day early. The hotel was able to take us for one night at the last minute..Nice hotel very close to the Colosseum and the Metro. I mention the Metro because you can get anywhere you want to go with ease and a 24 hour ticket is only 7 euro. It is the best way to get around Rome and see all the sites in my opinion. Back to the hotel. There was a small fridge in the room and plenty of space for three girls to relax. The beds were very comfortable with crisp white sheets and pillows. Clean and quiet room. Room 433. Check in and Check out was a breeze. Check out the Bistro down the street from the hotel. Lovely restaurant with homemade pasta dishes.

« Long weekend in Rome »

Convenient location for the sights of Rome. The coliseum is in walking distance. The metro also stops just across the road from the hotel and it's cheap. (£1:50 when we stayed). At least two very good welcoming restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the hotel.

« Wonderful hotel in Rome close to subway clean and convenient »

Have to say this was a very nice hotel and quite affordable for stay in Rome. When we arrived in Rome we opted to take a cab from the train station to the hotel - what a mistake this hotel is right on the subway line and so convenient to get to. Its not much to look at on the outside but inside is quite nice. Nice bar area. Breakfast restaurant. Clean lobby. Staff was very efficient. Check in was great - staff at the desk was very clear gave us very good instructions on our stay in Rome and offered to give us touristic options to sight see the city which was helpful. They were not pushy at all. Breakfast was 3 Euros. I see some travellers complained it was supposed to be part of their package. I dont know the website is not clearly listed but 3 Euros I won't complain. It was a very nice breakfast lots of choices to start the day off great. Room was so clean after staying in Venice earlier on my trip in a very shading looking hotel this was so nice. Comparing it to other hotels i have travelled around the world its much better than a 3 star. Rooms very spacious. Bathroom clean new fixtures very modern. (note I am not a fan of a bidet right near where you hang bath towels but i found that all over Europe). Room had a fridge to keep our items. Closet was huge to place all our luggage. Extra blankets pillows were available. Nice touch various pillows for your sleep preference - firm, soft etc. 2 elevators - i think 5 floors. so if you needed to take the stairs its not too bad. The hotel is on the main street so you will hear cars and traffic in the night but it was fine nothing too loud for us. Tv was good with various channels. The location as i said was very convenient as it was on the subway line. Going site seeing was good - either bus or subway car nothing too more than 1/2 hour mind you this was August so i dont know if its better or worst at a later time. Down the street are several pizza and pasta shops. Quick cheap eats around 5 Euros. An indian convenience store with water and fruit was very helpful. A Japanese buffet was also down the street but i think was very pricey did not try. Hotel had a business centre free wifi in all the rooms. Business centre had a printer so we easily printed tickets and boarding passes which was free. Overall I really liked this hotel and especially for the price. Staff was friendly. Cleaners were good. Only one day our door key did not work but staff was helpful in getting that straightened out. I would recommend this hotel again. Downside There was pool or other entertainment.

    « Comfortable stay »

We have just spent 4 nights at this hotel which was selected by our tour operator, we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly & we had a warm welcome. The rooms are an average size, very clean with comfy beds. Clean towels & linen which was changed daily. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, but only polystyrene cups to drink from, which I found a bit strange, never known this before, not the best! The breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety of choice. The hotel has a small bar/restaurant which we found adequate for our evening meals & the prices were reasonable. All in all a pleasant stay.

    « Great short stay »

Perfect location for short stay in Rome and connections to Termini. We checked in very late and were received well at reception and with everything organised which with a young family after travel was much appreciated. Rooms were comfortable and bathroom was clean and tidy. We did not have breakfast due to an early departure although this was provided.

« Great location to see Rome »

Great location. A few blocks from the Colosseum and just a cross a metro and tramp station in which you can catch a train to anywhere. Staff was great and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The only flaw was the rather small room for a family of 4 but we managed of course.

    « Deserves Praise! »

This hotel is perfect for travelers who want to enjoy the Coliseum and also have easy access to the subway system. This hotel has a spectacular location! Turn the corner and you are on your way to both the Coliseum and the Victor Emmanuel Monument. The rooms are modern, clean and sport lots of marble. The subway station is right outside and gives any traveler easy access to all of Rome's ancient sites!

    « Could do Better »

This is a mixed review in that our experience was both good and bad bearing in mind that this review is on a 4 star hotel not B&B.On arrival we discovered that they had got our reservation wrong in terms of Twin/Double Room despite us having received the correct confirmation in writing before our arrival date..It was suggested that we would be moved to another room the following day.I objected and in fairness adjustments were made within an hour. The toilet did not flush properly and the room safe was not working.Having brought these faults to the attention of the staff, which in fairness were rectified fairly promptly, we then discovered that tea /coffee making facilities included polystyrene cups and a plastic stirrer instead of a spoon. Other faults were the room fridge not working. The noise from the hotel plumbing system was extremely loud and annoying and there is a lack of facilities in the bathroom to place toiletries. Ours ended up on the bathroom floor in our toilet bags. We then went to the bar for a lunchtime snack and were given a plate which had not been washed properly.By this time we were so embarrased by our list of complaints that we didn't bring some of the faults to the attention of staff on the basis that we might be branded as trouble makers. There were plus points as well in that the Breakfasts were very good and the staff very friendly. The hotel was also in a good location for the Metro system into the centre of Rome and within walking distance of some of the ancient ruins. Bearing in mind the 4 star rating we were disappointed with the hotel especially as with a little effort and perhaps better training plus management spending just a little more in upgrading the room facilities our experience could have been so much better.

« Would do it again »

I spent a night in rome in august in best western , the hotel was a bit hard to find from the termini station , but once we got there the place was very nice and clean. Since we came at 10 , there were no ready rooms and they kept the luggage while we went to visit some places , There's a small elevator which is helpful since you're gonna get your bags up and down urself . Very good for a 4 star hotel . And safe too

    « Rome - Sight Seeing »

Well located hotel near Manzoni Metro station, walking distance to the Coliseum and convenient to get to any tourist destination easily. Helpful and friendly hotel staff. Good restaurant and bar good choice of food and drinks.

    4
    « Convenient for Business & Pleasure »

Clean and comfortable hotel. Room and toilet somewhat small. Breakfast quite good. What I found to be it's greatest asset was virtually being next to a metro station. Staff were polite and helpful. Lunch and dinner can be obtained at the bar / restaurant until midnight.

    3
    « Good location »

We stayed here for one night during our visit to room. The location is ideal, located next to a metro line, it took us about ten minutes to get to the Spanish steps and our return walk from the Colosseum took 20 minutes. I felt the staff weren't as helpful as they could have been during the check in process. When enquiringly about parking (I had messaged through about this upon parking), I was told we would have to look around for blue spots and weren't provided with any other helpful advice I.e we didn't have to pay in the meter post 8pm or that there was a parking garage next door that opened after 6pm. The room itself was dated but comfortable.

« Good Stay in Rome »

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and really enjoyed my stay. Starting from the Check in my experience was great. Staff at the front desk is really helpful . Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is really good and price is quite reasonable. Best part about this hotel is its location. Metro station is just outside the hotel . Colosseum is also nearby. Only downside was the lift size which is quite small for a 4 start hotel . Overall its a good hotel and value for money.

    5
« Strategic location great service »

The hotel is 5meters from the metro station and 10 from Colosseum and Rome centre. Rooms are large and comfortable with extra space to have the baggages open. Bed and pillows are excellent. The price is really a value for money option to be in a city like Rome. A bit of noise early morning from the street but this is common to all hotels and big cities. Anyway manageable.

    3
    « Lovely hotel »

Staff very friendly and rooms clean. However they were a little dated and had an unusual, hard floor. The location was just ok. Right beside the Metro but the street in front of and beside hotel was very dirty and smelly.

    5
    « Great hotel »

A great hotel with good decoration, good breakfast, and a good bed. The view is pretty good too. It is also easy to go to any attraction because it is right next to the MEA Manzoni station. It also has a tram station right next to it, and a bus station 3 minutes away. The staff were polite and helpful enough. The breakfast is good for a Best Western hotel. It has a lot of things that make a substantial breakfast.

« Great location and freindly staff »

Traveled with a large group. Check-in and out was quick and painless. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The free Wi-Fi had a strong signal throughout the hotel. The breakfast buffet was very good with an outstanding selection. The metro stop was less than a block away. I would definitely stay again.

    4
    « Unexpected stay »

We arrived to check into our hotel (hotel Milton, BW) which advised us our 2 rooms had been overbooked, and they needed to transfer us to their sister hotel across the road. We were initially upset, but after travelling a very long time to get here, what could we do? Check in was smooth and quick, our room was lovely. Clean and spacious. Bathroom was a generous size and toiletries were provided. We enjoyed a filling breakfast, which service was faultless. A large variety on offer. We checked out the next day back to our original hotel, our bags were transferred while we were out sightseeing. We enjoyed our unexpected stay, from what we saw, we would stay here again for sure.

    4
« Convenient location and pleasant stay »

The President is conveniently located right next to the Manzoni metro station and is just 2 stations away from Roma Termini station and not far from most attractions. Breakfast service was excellent with a large variety - the staff was quick in managing so many guests during peak hours. The Front office staff were also very polite and helpful. The bar had a limited choice of food but it was delicious (we arrived late from Florence one night and didn't want to step out of the hotel so decided to dine in) The room size was a bit disappointing - we had booked a quadruple room but we were given what seemed like a large superior room with 2 extra beds put in and not much room to move around. Also, the room was right next to housekeeping so it did get a bit noisy early in the morning. Overall we had a pleasant stay - would definitely recommend this hotel!

    3
« Nice location for metro and walking »

A family of 4 can walk to most of the major sites in Rome from this hotel. We took the metro to the Vatican and some other sites as well. Very handy. Had to get used to the card in the slot to keep the lights on. The breakfast is good but you need to ask for better coffee (i.e. café latte). The front desk is helpful, but not overly friendly. Breakfast is EUR 3 each and the EUR 6 per person per day is kind of crazy, but it seems to be part of the deal.

    4
    « Good Hotel »

We were pleasently suprised with this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and modern, as well as being clean. It was great for a good night rest as you could pull down the shutters for absolute sun block out. Breakfast was excellent, there were so many options avilable. The neighbourhood isn't the greatest, I wouldn't wander around after dark on my own but the day is perfectly fine. The hotel is walking distance to The Colleso, about 10mins away. Overall this was a pleasent hotel.

    4
« So convenient above metro station, and good family hotel »

Small room, but prepared to accommodate two teenagers in family room which was helpful. Good wifi, and very decent breakfast included. Helpful front of house staff with booking tours, advice and luggage storage. Bathroom was good. Convenient to tourist attractions.

    4
    « Perfect base »

Great place to stay and explore Rome. Comfortable rooms, relaxed atmosphere, good breakfast. Recommend. Alongside Manzoni metro station which is really useful for striking out to Centro Storico and Quirinale.

    4
« Great Hotel Centrally Located In Rome »

We stayed at this hotel the last two days of our ten day trip with Go A head Tours on our Amalfi Coast tour. After the Amalfi Coast, we made our way to Rome to this hotel. I had checked all of the hotels we would be staying at before the trip, and all were rated four star hotels; finding a Best Western rated four stars was a surprise, but this hotel did not disappoint. The hotel looked new, and the rooms were nicely appointed. There is a subway station on the block to make getting around easy for the locations the limited subway system of Rome accommodates. There are numerous restaurants nearby. I can't say anything about comparing rates with other hotels since all of our accommodations were arranged by the tour group, but this hotel looked like new, service was good, and I would look at this hotel again if staying in Rome.

    4
    « Pleasant stay »

Hotel is in a good position. Close to a metro stop. Lots of restaurants within a 10 to 15 minute walk. Room was great, staff very helpful and friendly. We had a room on the street which was very busy and could get quite noisy, but once you closed the outside shutter on the window the room was very quiet and dark, great for sleeping. Breakfast was adequate, reasonable selection of food available. Would stay again.

    4
    « Very good location »

Good hotel with very rich breakfast and all you need in clean rooms. Just next to the hotel is the metro station Manzoni . Nearby there are nice small restaurants. Shops are also at hand. I would stay there again.

« Good hotel for a short stay »

This hotel is located on a main street close to Metro station, which is just outside of it, an tram station which is close by too. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, not too far away from train station, but not too close by also. You wither have to take a taxi or a metro train to reach the hotel from the train station. As it is located on the main street/road, it is not a quiet hotel. You will have disturbances till late in the night from the traffic down there. The hotel is good, clean and comfortable. I had booked a quad room for my family, but i think what they gave me was a standard room by stuffing four beds into a small space, and there was hardly any space to walk around or unpack. I felt cheated for that. The bathroom is descent, and they have a huge wardrobe in the room. There are no eateries in the vicinity of the hotel, and you have to walk at least 10 to 15 minutes to find one.

    4
    « Good location »

Stayed here for a week. Good location to visit the city . Staff where very helpful and friendly. When I'm back in Rome I'll stay here again . Food was fine also . Our rooms was very clean . The staff on the front desk really helped us about the best places to visit.

    4
« They have 5 choices of pillow »

Doesn't look great from the outside, but, very clean and tidy. Breakfast was included and was everything you could think of to eat at breakfast. Drinks were same prices as the local bars - free snacks at the bar. Didn't sleep well the first night because of the big pillows - next day noticed a leaflet on the table from which you can select 5 different types of pillow... slept fine after swapping. All the staff very pleasant - mostly mature men and women who new how to treat guests. Not minimum wage kids like in UK.

    4
    « stay at hotel »

Hotel do not have hotel pick up facility that was a problem in case you are coming late night as train as well bus service stops you are dependent on Taxi .Some one advised us to make WHITE TaXI FROM AIRPORT who charged Euro 60 for our family we were having 4 luggage .Hotel is walking from colosseum which is main attraction ,I advise to book ticket in advance online as even if you have reservation you need to stand in line to get the ticket ,take a guided service which is not very expensive ..central station RMA termini is 1.5 km from hotel so in case you like to train for onward journey hotel is at good location.Above all Break fast at EURO 3 AND KIDS ARE free in case you are not booking B&B you can take the same at hotel.i think we have been charged for the kids as well ...

    4
« Lovely place to stay near old city »

We stayed here for 3 nights while on a singing tour, with our chorus. It is right next to a subway station which mades it very easy to visit the Coliseum/Forum and other attractions. Good restaurants nearby also.

    4
« Generally good with a few areas for improvement »

Starting with the good points: -Excellent location, few steps away from Marzoni metro stop. -very good family sized bedroom with large king size bed and 2 single beds -comfortable beds and pillows -great powerful double shower -good value buffet breakfast for 3€ each -close enough to points of interest but not in a central location but still ideal location Not so good: -cleaning of rooms was not to a high standard, lots of dust in our room over 4 days. beds were not made on one occasion and on another fresh towels were just left in the bidet not even hung on the rail -carpets are old, dirty And sticky -there isn't much going on in the area as far as restaurants and shops are concerned Overall I would go back as the hotel represents good value and its location next to metro is ideal

    5
    « Great choice »

Helpfull staff. Clean hotel. Great breakfast. Very good location. I will sure stay in this hotel whenever I come back to Rome. 4 nights and 5 days near the subway, the bus and the tram .the guys on the reception are very kind. And the room service also

    4
« Good service ,superb location »

Had a pleasant stay .Train station is 2 min walking distance .very convenient to commute from the hotel.lot f restaurants close by the hotel.Staff is friendly n helpful.Breakfast spread is not for asians but thats how most hotels are in Italy.

    « Excellentl location »

Lovely clean room with excellent air-conditioning... Nice products in the bathroom...10 minute walk to the colostrum.. Lovely continental breakfast, bacon and eggs also available. Take a mug for your morning cuppa. Some issues with the electricity sockets butadiene causes a major problem. I would recommend this hotel android return.

    5
« Great location for exploring Rome »

Stayed at this hotel in May and it is in the perfect location for exploring the sights of Rome. The collessium is about a 15 minute walk away. The hotel is next door to the metro station with a direct line to take you to stations for trevi fountain, Spanish steps and the vatican. The rooms are a little on the small side but do the trick for what's needed after a day of exploring. The hotel has a little bar area which offers food however if you don't fancy that there are a couple of nice restraunts a few minutes walk from the hotel offering traditional Italian pasta and pizzas.

« Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, decent price »

We stayed here for one night between a cruise and our flight home. Surprisingly kind staff, clean hotel, good breakfast. We had a family room for 4 with a large bed and two twins. The beds were comfortable and there was room to walk around and room for all of our suitcases. Would stay here again when in Rome! Be sure to check out the little vending room around the corner, and the lovely deli and grocery nearby!

    3
    « good localization »

excelente localization, near coliseum and termini station. The people who takes care of the hotel are very rude and inefficient, the guy at the morning is useless, the room is good, the shower are very small, good breakfast.

    2
« Not a four star location or condition! Food and staff good though. »

We were placed in this hotel during a tour of Rome and it was switched from a nicer hotel in the city. This was in an industrial area of Roma and when we walked outside on the first day, there was a dog fight in the middle of the street and a man video taping the fight. The dog looked to be killed and the. Shortly after a big truck drove up, there was yelling and it sounded like the dog was run over. It was traumatic. Obviously this is not the hotel's fault, but I wanted to share what we witnessed. When I checked in they placed me in room 101. It was a single and it was probably one of the worst rooms I have ever been in. See photos. I went to the desk and told them o could not stay in this room. They moved me to the 7th floor single with a balcony and it was more updated and cleaner. I was overall not impressed with this hotel, but I did like the Margherita pizza I had in the bar upon check in. The hotel staff was nice and accommodated complaints and made it better. I would not stay here again because it is in need to updating and the location was scary for me.

    4
« Good and well located. »

This centrally located hotel is comfortable and the food and the service are good. Tea and coffee making is provided in the room but the polystyrene cups are an accident waiting to happen when filled with boiling water. Good choices for breakfast but seemed a little disorganised.

    4
    « Rome Break »

The Hotel was good. A bit out of the way but very nice indeed. We were B&B but the breakfast was good. Would recommend the hotel. We were on a 4 night break with Riviera Travel which was very good indeed. Having been before, we went on the bus tour the first morning and to The Forum and Colleseum on the second day but the rest of the time we did our own thing.

    4
« A nice basic hotel but rooms were too small. They surely maintain their brand image of being a best western hotel. »

However they were good at the basics of whatever they provided during our stay, we found the room to be too small. It was so small that it even restricted movement within the room The best part of the hotel is its location. The hotel gate is located at the entrance to one of the metro gates which provides excellent connectivity to the whole of rome. All the major sight seeing points (except Vatican) are at a walking distance (though a long walk) Do try Italian food at spacio which is at a 10 mins walk from the hotel. Even the gelato next door is not bad though not exceptional

« Excellent location and service »

Walk off the Metro and you are steps away from your hotel. It is a short walk to the Coliseum and Roman Forum and via Metro connected to all major tourist sites. A very clean, friendly hotel that seems to cater to groups. They have an excellent breakfast buffet with full menu and cappuccino and coffee machines for your convience. The dinners are also excellent.

    « Nice hotel »

I stay for 3 days at President hotel and i enjoy it very much. Very nice breakfast, clean room and very kind and helpful stuff. Big plus that is right next to metro. An other plus the great variety breakfast. ...and very nice "powerful" shower in the room!! Price was good enough. For cons i may say the not so good reception of free wifi signal, little more expensive tham it should be and the internal area room view. For its category and level its totaly recommended by me.

« Great location, excellent service! »

I have stayed at this hotel several years ago and really liked it. I had a group of 18 people at this hotel and selected it again based on its location and amenities. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, the reception staff are excellent answering any questions with a good command of English. The hotel is located in an easily accessible area. There is a Metro station right outside the entrance which is extremely convenient, the Termini train station is only 10-15 minutes walk away and the Colosseum is also only a 15-20 minute walk. I would highly recommend this hotel, it is reasonably priced, in a great location, modern spacious rooms, excellent choice for breakfast and the staff are frriendly and helpful. Definitely a book with with confidence and would be my choice for a future visit to Rome for a hotel.

« Comfortable, clean and good food in the bar »

For a large hotel as part of a chain this hotel did have a personal touch with friendly staff and quick assistance when requested. The rooms were comfortable, the beds had memory foam and duvets which I prefer. Although the walls were a bit thin there was no real noise disturbance after 11:00 pm. Tie air conditioning was effective. We were on the 7th floor so away from the worst of the traffic noise, which seemed to go on all night and day. It is well situated for the metro but the area around the hotel is not anywhere you would wish to walk around being full of litter and graffiti.

    « Budget Hotel »

just watch out for the shops nearby for electric sockets. Invariably the shops charge double the rate of the price. Hotel was satisfactory. Buy water bottles from super markets[ in 6 packs around 6 euros for a 6 litre pack] Outside too costly 2 euro for 500 ml

    « A pleasant stay »

A clean hotel, very busy, pleasant friendly staff (most of them anyway!) Bar food was good and not too pricey, No draught beer!! bottles only and not the best. Breakfast was very good, Hot food was scrambled eggs and bacon, but a good cold selection. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Position of the hotel was a good 15-20 minute walk to the coliseum but there is a tram stop right outside and a Metro line direct to all the sites, I must say that the hotel can be quite noisy at night due to these, but it does quieten down about 1130pm, I would'nt say it was a 4 star hotel, maybe three star, does it matter? your not going to spend all your time sat in the hotel when in Rome!!

    « Avoid this hotel »

This hotel in Rome was a substandard hotel. My room was small and the carpet was dirty. My view was of the roof and some mechanical equipment. The door on the first day did not respond to the key card (this was the case for almost all of our group). My sister's room smelled of sewage. We called the desk, they sent someone who poured a solution in a floor drain and said it was ?fixed.? It was not ?fixed.? We called again, and the person who arrived said to call the desk. Our tour director handed my sister his key and said to trade rooms with him. He told us later that he just slept with the bathroom window open and the door closed. Breakfast was not good.

    « Decent 3 star hotel »

Expectation - I had planned a visit to Rome during a long weekend and all hotels were pretty expensive. Hence, I was looking for a decent 4 star hotel and not far from the city center. Best Western President Hotel had decent price and the reason for picking this was Best Western brand, decent reviews, 4 star hotel near to the metro station. Location - The hotel's location is quite good. Not exactly in the city center but close to the city center and its situated right on top of the Manzoni metro station. When you get out of the metro station, you are right at the hotel. The Roma Termini railway station (Rome's main train station) is mere 2 stops from the hotel by the metro. Also, the hotel is just 10 min walk to the Basilica di San Giovanni and Colosseum. Also this side of the city was much peaceful. Not a lot of restaurants neaby but I was pretty satisfied by the location. The Hotel - The hotel is nice and clean. Lobby is average, pretty ordinary reception as well. Check-in was smooth, although the guy at the reception didn't provide any information about Rome, places to visit, neither a city map. They did have a map, which I myself took. They have 2 tiny elevators but they were neat and clean. The interior of the hallways were fine too. There was a vending machine next to the elevators for a quick snack or a drink which was cheap. The vending machine accepts bills and coins only, no card. I had booked an economy room, as with rest of the Europe, the room sizes are small, the economy room with a double bed (french bed) was fine in size. A little bigger wouldnt have hurt, the bed covered most of the area in the room although there was enough space to walk around on all 3 sides of the bed. Room was well nicely made and clean. Bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. 2 side tables, and a table and wooden chair, 32 inch LCD tv, a fridge beneath it with few items, not a lot, in the mini bar. Mini bar was slightly lesser expensive than what I have seen in other hotels. Maximum 4 euro for the drinks. There were enough shelves in the tv unit as well to place your stuff. Apart from this, a full size cupboard along with a safe. I was easily able to put all my stuff inside. The bathroom was also fine, neat and clean, most Italian hotels have a bidet which I didn't use, and it occupies some space. They did have shampoo, shower gel, soap and body cream. I had no issue with the heater and air-conditioning and it worked fine for me. Now for some negatives of the room - Surprisingly no iron and iron table. There was no bathroom slippers as well although I would expect it in a 5 star than a 4 star hotel. No coffee machine but a kettle was there along with coffee/tea sachets which I did not use. One weird thing is that they don't provide you with glass cups, instead there are plastic disposable cups in the bathroom. I could easily hear if someone was in front of my door and talking, may be the walls are a bit thin and the rooms are not that sound proof. The view from my room window was not really great. All I could see were various apartment and homes of the people. But it was peaceful as my room was facing opposite to the main road where the hotel is situated. Restaurant, Bar and Breakfast - The breakfast was supposed to be included in my booking. So, one day there was no one at the restaurant reception and I had the breakfast. The breakfast was ordinary and typical to a European breakfast, nothing special to rave about. Scrambled eggs, bacon, 3 types of cheese, a few type of sliced cold meat, breads, cornflakes, fruits, croissants, muffin, cake, fruits, rice (which looked seriously stale), and pinto beans (they looked yucky as well). A couple of variety of juice, orange, annanas (pineapple), and a few type of coffee (cappucino was good) and tea. However, next day when I went for breakfast, there was a lady sitting in front of the restaurant and said breakfast was not included in my booking, but since it was only for 3 euros I did not argue, but yes as one another reviewer has said, the hotel staff lies. They do have a bar which I did not use neither I had lunch or dinner there, so I cannot comment on the food. However for a 4 star, they do not have a room service which is surprising and weird. Conclusion - It's a decent hotel which is not very expensive yet has nice and decent rooms and situated at a nice quiet location right above the Manzoni metro station. Definitely not a 4 star and more like a 3 star. They do not have a room service or an iron in rooms. Would I stay there again - may be and may be not if I can find some other hotel with more facilities and a good location at the same price.

« Decent hotel but beware of dishonest staff »

I had reserved the hotel based on the positive reviews online and central location for our trip to Rome. Also, being a known brand I thought I knew what to expect, however the staff proved me wrong. Me and my wife checked in late evening on 5/12/2016 for our 4 night stay till 5/16/2016. While checking-in the guy at the front desk told us the breakfast was included. I also requested an adapter, for which I was told there was a cash deposit of 20 euros and could not be paid with a credit card. Given it was late and we were tired, I did not argue and handed a 20 euro bill for the adapter and headed to the room. The room was small but clean and I had no reason to complain. My first surprise was next morning when we headed down for breakfast. There was a lady at the door who asked me for a "breakfast coupon". When I said I did not have one, she replied 3 euros per person. Since it was 3 euros we did not wish to argue and went ahead with the breakfast, giving the benefit of doubt to the guy who checked us in. The best was yet to come. On the day we were checking out I took the adapter back to the front desk expecting to get the 20 euros back. There was a different guy at the front desk who took the adapter and handed me a 10 euro bill. I was surprised and mention that I had paid 20 euros for deposit. He said they always take 10 euros and showed me the hand written note against my room number for 10 euros. For a moment, I thought since it had been 4 days, perhaps I had forgotten and had actually paid 10 euros. I asked my wife and she agreed that we had paid 20 euros. When I asked, the guy at the front desk said he could not do anything since he was not there when we check-in. If you plan to stay a the hotel please get some form of a receipt paying a deposit for anything. Not sure how many of the staff are in on it,but there are definitely some that are running a scam where they take advantage of tourists by pocketing part of the deposit.

    « Very nice Hotel »

The staff are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. A breakfast buffet is available for 3 Euros and it is excellent! The Manzoni metro stop is right outside the hotel door, just two stops away from the Rome Termini station. The metro is very easy to use and convenient for many of the tourists sights. The neighborhood is safe and there are grocery stores and restaurants nearby. There is free WI FI and also an internet access area for printing boarding passes. We had a very enjoyable stay and would most certainly return to this hotel.

    « Rome »

Nice comfy clean hotel, Typical continental type breakfast on offer, eat as much as you want, they have a restaurant, but, the food is pre prepared and microwaved or grilled by the bar staff, of which there was only one ( serving drinks as well as meals). The metro station ( underground) is literally 20 feet from the main entrance of the hotel, and takes you to the nearest station to most of the attractions, costs 1 euro 50 cents for 100 minutes ( plenty of time to go from any station ), the hotel is only a 15 minute walk ( max) from the colluseum, roman forum and circus maximus. From the colluseum you can get the HOP ON - HOP OFF bus, this goes around in a circle covering all the attraction and sights, they supply FREE HEADPHONES to plug in and the commentary is very accurate, tells you which stops are best for what attraction. you cen get off and on as often as you like for the duration of your ticket, saves a lot of walking.

« Only 15 minutes walk from Colloseo »

From hotel to Maznzoni metro station is only.... 10 steps. Maybe rooms don't have a modern forniture but if you want hotel with comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and bathroom it will be good choice, Friendly staff.

« Disappointed after reading such positive comments »

I think I was there on a bad few days. Staff in serving areas and rooms great. Reception? rather distant and less keen to help. I went on a guided visit with a highly reputable company but the probl;em of being a single traveller lies firmly with the hotel. Single room available and although I paid £159 for 4 night stay this amunted to a poky little dark room with single bed and not even a rack for my suitcase. As only there 4 nights I did not raise it but ... the room smelt musty when I went initially My window opened to the back of another hotel, I could hear the person next door snoring.and on the final morning I woke up to a very distinct smell of drains in the bathroom. All good about position and breakfast. Bad about their pricing policy for singles. if you have single rooms do not charge more for them because they really are not as nice as your double rooms believe me. Thought british 3 star rather than 4

    « Nice location! »

Hotel is located only a few steps from Metro station Manzoni (only few stops from main Rome sights). Hotel staff is great and very helpful and polite. Rooms are comfortable and large enough. Buffet breakfast was really great with lots of choices (hot or cold). One negative thing about our stay - we had a room overlooking main road so it was too noisy throughout the day and night.

    4
    « Good tourist standard »

We spent 4 nights in this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis and were satisfied with the experience. We were on a package holiday for sightseeing and this hotel is an excellent base being near (10-15 mins on foot) the colosseum and the forum. It is also near the underground, bus and tram services. The room, which had very comfortable beds, was of a good size as was the bathroom. The breakfast was adequate with a wide choice. There are also a number of good restaurants nearby. Overall the hotel is good value in a very good location.

« Comfortable and convenient stay »

We stayed at the BW President for 2 nights during a recent trip to Rome and the first thing that came to mind is the sheer convenience of the location as it relates to the public transit options. The Manzoni metro station is literally on the doorstep of the hotel and the tram runs in both North/South and East/West directions accessible from the hotel. We stayed nearby on our first night in the city and decided to inquire about the possibility of an early check-in as we were nearby and much to our surprise they checked us in right then and there several hours before we even expected to be able to had they agreed to the early check-in. We went straight to the room to have a look and our first impressions were positive despite the room being on the front side of the building on a very busy street. For a hotel room in Rome it was quite spacious and very comfortable and it didn't feel cozy or cramped like many spaces in the city. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was also spacious enough to use and not feel like you were in a closet. The rate came with breakfast; however it can also be added for a minimal cost which in itself is an excellent value when compared to other properties and the options were plentiful so no complaints there. WiFi was free and relatively fast so another added bonus and the mini fridge in the room was large enough to hold additional bottles of water or whatever else. Overall the property is well worth the extra cost in comparison to smaller, boutique hotels as the pro's definitely outweigh any con's and with only a short walk to the Colosseum its an excellent option for those who don't mind walking or making use of the city transit system!

« Nice hotel, great locations »

We stayed at this hotel during our time in Rome. The rooms were very nice, clean and modern. They were small, but so are most other hotel rooms in Europe. The staff was very nice, kind and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful, great selection of items so there was something for everyone. The pastries served at breakfast were to die for! Nice little bar in the lobby and they allowed you to sit in the lobby with your drink and enjoy the evening. Very short walk, about at minutes to the Coliseum and the Forum. Just around the corner from and a short walk to the Holy Steps, which are said to the be steps Christ walked up to meet Pontius Pilate and the Basilica of San Giovanni, which was the home to the pope before the Vatican/St Peters was built and is a stunning and imposing church in it's own right. You must see the inside of this church! The metro is located just outside the hotel on the corner, and it is a quick ride to many other must see sights in Rome. There is also a great pizza place, gelati shop and corner café just steps from the Hotel. And a block away is an amazing local restaurant called, RomAntica, which has amazing pasta and inexpensive, but delicious Proseco! A great place to stay while visiting Rome. Have already recommended it to our friends!

« Great Location, great breakfast. »

The location is fantastic - the metro is right outside the hotel, which is a relief after walking around Rome all day and you just want to get back to relax. It is 2 stops from the Termini. We flew into Fiumicino then caught the express train (32mins direct) to the Termini then hopped on the metro to Manzoni. A return train ticket is 32 Euros. You can also buy a 72hr metro/bus/tram pass from the machine at 18 Euros which is fantastic. Hotel is nice - I would say a 3 star, nothing luxurious but comfortable enough. We had a very quiet room on the 6th floor. Bathroom is very small and watch out for a sharp-edged towel rail which I kept bumping into and my thighs are now all bruised. There was no soap dish, there is a hairdryer. Beds were very comfortable and towels were very nice. Roasting hot water too and a nice bath. Wifi was very good and is free. Simone at reception is very polite and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Everything you want and more - salami/hams, cheeses, pastries, a selection of breads, fresh fruits, scrambled eggs etc. The coffee and tea from the machine was not very nice, however there are waiters who will bring you a pot of tea or coffee if you ask them. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

    « Very well located »

This hotel is located very close to the main attractions. Metro,Trams and buses right outside the front of the hotel. Or a short walk to the Colosseum, Pantheon and Roman Forum. Metro can get busy in the rush hour, so wait until 9.30 am.

« Good service, mediocre rooms (at least some of them) »

We're family of 4 (parents with kids of 4 and 13 yo) and we reserved a quadruple room for the pretty long stay (8 nights) in this hotel. To start with the highlights: the location is great (close to Termini, just a few steps from the metro and the tram stations), the staff is welcoming and helpful, the breakfast is fine (although not more than that) and the WiFi is free and fast. The downside is the room. We arrived to the hotel at midnight and were provided with rather small room on the 2nd floor facing the patio. It was very cold in the room, but AC did not work for heating (on their website they state they DO have an air conditioning, but they do not mention they disable it during some seasons) while the only solution suggested by the desk was providing more blankets (and no, they could not assign us with another room at that point since, according to them, the hotel was fully booked). Also in the room the kettle did not work because the electric adapter was missing (one more call to maintenance right upon the entry), no shelves to stock the clothes in the wardrobe (and no option for it - only some shoulder straps inside), broken lock in the bathroom door, leaking shower stall and the worst pillows of any I can recall. The worst thing of all, the next day we realized that the room was also extremely dark as, in fact, located in the "bottom of the well" of surrounding buildings so practically no sunlight inside. Next morning we checked an option of changing the room in the front desk and they agreed to help, but said the move could be done only later in the noon. Well, since we had some plans for our stay in Rome beyond packing/moving/unpacking our belongings and since, after all, we did not plan to have too much time to spend in the room, we gave up and stayed there for 6 more nights until we just could not be staying there anymore so we approached the front desk again and next afternoon they assigned us another room on the 4th floor where we completed our stay. This time the room was much better: bigger, well illuminated and much warmer than before (well, the shower stall leaked either, the lock in the bathroom door was broken again, the pillows were still horrific and we had to call the maintenance right upon the entry to break into the locked safe, but we could live with all of that after our experience with the first room). Now I understand that we could insist on moving the room after staying there a day or two (after all, already on the 2nd day of our stay the front desk agreed to check this option and it was not the hotel's fault we choose not to invest our vacation time into our "quality of life" improvement), but I think that the hotel which considers itself a member of Best Western chain had no option to put the customer (which just in case also the member of Best Western Rewards loyalty club) arriving with family for such a long stay to this position right from the beginning. Also I think it is a shame for any hotel advertising itself as a 4-star hotel to offer the kind of room we got in the beginning to their customers (and again, especially to the loyal ones) Bottom line: the great location helped us to explore the Rome as planned but we're rather disappointed with our stay in this hotel.

    « Great stay! »

We are a family of 4 who stayed at the President for 4 nights - no complaints at all. We had a lovely large quad room that was very quiet as it wasn't facing the road. We had plenty of space, lots of storage and a good sized bathroom with a double shower in it. Complimentary toiletries and very good sized bath towels. Tea/coffee facilities and minibar fridge too. Breakfast had a very good selection of hot and cold options eg: bacon, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, mini frankfurters, rolls, breads, hams, cheeses, cereals, cakes, pastries, fruit and salad. Location absolutely excellent - just a few metres from Manzoni station, the buses and trams and best of all the Colloseum, Santa Maria di Maggiore and San Giovanni in Laterano are all just a 10 minute walk away. Would definitely stay here again!

« Amazing base for a beautiful city »

I spent 4 night and 5 days with my wife and children at the president and along with two more families and friends. This is an amazing hotel within walking distance of the coliseum. Also Manzone, one of the two underground stations is 20 metres away. Add to that the tram 80 metres away and you have all the transport links you could ask for. The hotel room was very spacious with a super King and two single beds in it. The beds where very comfortable and the room still had space to walk around. A hint ask for a bedroom away from the front as our friends said it was a little noisy. We had a rear room with a minibar fridge and and a safe also a large shower and bathroom area. Defiantly I would return.

« Surprised at how nice this Best Western was! »

So in the United States, my opinion of the Best Western isn't really that good. I think of it as a cheap low quality hotel. We booked this hotel for Rome because we were on a budget and it actually seemed nice from reviews and pictures. We were happy we did. Rooms were small, but clean. All of the staff was very nice. There was a free breakfast buffet that actually had a lot of decent food. It allowed us to save our money to have lunch and dinner at nicer places. Location was very good, we walked just about everywhere. If I go to Rome again, I will likely check this place out.

    4
    « Good experience »

We enjoyed the 4 night stay here... It was a quad room so perhaps a little tight however overall the facilities and customer service was very good. Three things that stand out: 1) Location - Very close - walkable distance to Colosseum and few other must-visit places. 2) Metro is almost right outside the entrance 3) Breakfast is excellent with a huge spread and classy with good service. I would definitely recommend this place for families.

    4
« Good hotel, convenient location »

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in Rome. The hotel location is convenient, it is located nearby the Colosseum which is walkable in 10 minutes. The Manzoni metro station is right outside the door, we used the metro/bus system a lot to make the most of our Roma passes. Our room was clean. It is small but that's to be expected for European hotels. The only downside was that sometimes there would be a sewage-like odour coming from a vent in the bathroom... we thought it might be from the septic flush system. In any case, it wasn't a big enough deal for us to complain. Wifi was good. Breakfast started from 6:30 a.m. - included american style eggs and bacon, croissants, pastries, salami, fruit and yogurt.

« Value For Money. Excellent Connectivity »

Located right next to Manzoni metro station, this place is pretty good & reasonably priced compared to other hotels. Vatican is about 7 - 8 metro stops away, Colosseum is walkable . Good breakfast, good net connectivity, good service. Overall a nice experience

    « Nice services »

Hotel with good standard, nice services in English and near Colluseum. So everything you need as an first time visitior in Rome. Resturants and shops with water close to the hotel. I can recommende this hotel if you are going to be a tourist in Rome.

    4
    « Convenient located hotel »

Spacious modern hotel very conveniently located a few metres from the Metro Manzoni station and a short walk to the San Giovanni in Laterano Basilica and Holy Stairs. Room comfortable and with good buffet breakfast. I used the free internet on one of the hotels computers in a gallery in the entrance hall and found it good.

« Disappointed on the last minute »

Although we had a perfect 6 days in this hotel and we had only good comments about it on the last day of our departure they manage to ruin them. The previus night we order a taxi to take us to the airport. So in the morning i went to the reception to pay the debts i had from the use of the mini bar. The menu on the mini bar was 2 euros for a soda and 2 for a bottle of water...so we used them. When i went to pay for them at the receprion for 12 sodas,3 bottles of water and taxi service they asked me 86 euros. I normally thought taxi price was included so imagine my surprise when the taxi driver asked money for the fare when we arrive at the airport. So 2 euros on the menu...6 at the reception. It was a very nice hotel but they will never see me there or in any other hotel of this company again.

« Perfect location for exploring Rome »

The hotel was just yards from the Metro station which was great for accessing all of Rome. Our room was as you would expect, modern, clean & perfectly adequate for a 3 night stay. All the staff were helpful. Breakfast was excellent & well worth paying the extra for. We would definitely stay in this chain of hotels anywhere in Europe as the standard is always very good.

    4
« Good value for money »

The main advantage is location. Just 10 meters from subway and 10 minutes walk from Coliseum. At first hotel seems a bit old, but it has all service needed for 4 star place. The breakfast is very good. Free wifi ads some extra value. There are few nice restaurants nearby as well.

    « Excellent choice! »

We booked it through Booking and we couldn't have made a better choice! The Metro is just outside the door, but walking to Colosseo is better since it is not far enough. The reception was very helpful. The room was fine with a nice bathroom and excellent mattress and pillows (which by the way we asked to change and they offered us a variety of hardness to choose from!). We had booked for a "french bed" which is narrower than king size (I didn't know that), but at the end this was not a problem. Excellent wifi signal power! The breakfast was rich and it is offered from 06:30 to 10:30. The good thing is that if you have a very early flight they can offer you a decent breakfast from 05:00!!! They offer private transfer to Ciampino Airport for 40 euros (we were four so it was 10 euros per person), which is good, from Termini the bus is 4 euros per person. I would definitely suggest the hotel and it is my first choice for my next visit!

« Thank you Hotel President for another memorable stay. Saw the sights, all close at hand, got to the rugby and took hotel »

Arrived just after 2pm and the desk greeted us with 'Is this Mr Gjertsen's party?' Great staff on reception. After we had put the cases in the rooms we went back down to enquire which was the best way to the Catacombs and were advised to take a right up to the plaza and catch the 218 which was the and off we went. Had a good guided tour and walked down the Appian Way to catch another bus to the Colliseum which is a ten minute walk from the hotel. Day 2 was sight seeing - all the usual places then we found a bar near to the hotel which sold draught beer at 5eu very good for a capital city and settled down for the France Wales game then back to the hotel for nightcaps. Next day it was up to the Stadio Olimpico for Italy Scotland in all a great three days. Highly recommend this hotel.

    « This hotel won't dissapoint you »

With a very good location, just above Manzoni metro station and 15-20 minutes walking from Coliseo, this hotel is a great option for all kind of visitors. Our room was a little small (maybe because it was in the attic) and old, but the bathroom was completely new. The hotel is located in a noisy crossroads, that's why I recomend to ask for a room in the highest floor possible, it will make your stay more quiet. The breakfast was really good and the staff very nice with us. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

« Great location, but not 4 star »

I don't have anything really negative to say, this hotel didn't do it for me. Staff were friendly, but bar staff very slow and bar shuts at 12. Rooms were clean, but hot and we couldn't figure the air conditioning. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special, coffee and orange juice, not fish but delivered through machines. Our room had no tea/coffee cups, just polystyrene cups...not good, so we liberated cups from the breakfast serving. The one really really good thing is it is right on top of the Manzoni metro station. 18€ for 72hrs which covers tubes, trams, buses and trains within the city. Brilliant value and available from all machines in metro stations with translated instructions.

    « Nice location & Good service »

Just 2 stops away by metro from the main station Termini and right in front of the exit of Manzoni! Even better is the helpful and cherrful staff's service from the reception to restaurant. I stayed here for 3 nights with 12 students and all of us were very satisfied with this hotel. I would be glad to come back to this hotel again!

    « Convienent and smart »

Smart and clean hotel literally 10 meters form Manzoni stop on the metro, which allows easy access to Rome's many attractions, but with a relatively quiet area of town. I do not know if the hotel is good value as it was part of package, but would stay here again.

« Would definitely stay here again! »

This place was amazing! First of all, the location was great. It's only meters away from the metro and you can reach the Coloseum by foot in 15 minutes. The room was clean and comfortable too. The breakfast was great with lots of options: salad, pastries, warm food, cereal, fruits. Wifi was fast and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Rome!

« Good place to be when visiting Rome »

First of all the hotel's location is perfect, just 30 meters from the metro station, 15-10 minute walk from the Coliseum. There are restaurants near the hotel, excellent pizzeria, supermarket, shops and more .. The room was a reasonable size for two adults and a child, there is room minibar, large LED television with lots of channels in other languages not only Italian shower and bath good size ... we were on the 6th floor and the room was quiet and pleasant and clean. The rooms are cleaned every day, towels replaced, The rooms are cleaned every day, towels replaced, and arrange the room so very pleasant to return to. The staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful in everything. Breakfast is included in the price, excellent, very varied and delicious. We really enjoyed the stay at the hotel, recommend it to our friends. And thanks to the staff of the hotel.

« Well placed friendly hotel »

We visited Rome as part of a rugby trip but extended our stay and this hotel proved a useful base. It is just beside the Manzoni station on the Metro line and once we figured out where the main sights were it proved invaluable. The hotel itself is friendly although we didn't use the restaurant as there is so much to see in Rome. Our one complaint was about the room which was front facing and the air conditioning didn't work, in fact the electricity tripped out on a regular basis. What made it worse was that opening the window made it incredibly noisy, one downside of a conveniently placed hotel. Having said that once we pointed this out to the hotel they moved us to an 'internal' room which was larger, far quieter and cooler. So my advice would be to query the room you are allocated on booking

    « Great hotel »

Visited for 6 nations Rugby and stayed here as part of the package. The hotel was clean and modern, bed extremely comfortable, and the included breakfast had great choice. The hotel is ideally located next to the Manzoni metro station and a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum. The staff were cheerful & helpful, only criticism was the air con was off and the room was hot due to the mild weather. Thank you Hotel President.

« Great staff making an average hotel better »

We were part of a block booking and a mix up of rooms was soon remedied by attentive and enthusiastic check in team, the room, now non smoking had obviously been a "smoker" before as it was stale. The weather was unseasonably warm so we kept a window open. The heating was either tropical or off. Breakfast was an extensive buffet with a great team ready and willing to help with any additions. Check out was smooth. This is a case of a well drilled team achieving more than the total of its parts

« Nice enough, but a bit out of the way. »

Stayed here while in Rome for a long weekend to watch a rugby international. Nice enough hotel, but not very central. Taxi ride needed to most sights, apart from the Colosseum and the Forum. Breakfast was good, and evening snacks in the bar were nice, although the menu is somewhat limited. Room was comfortable, although not keen on polystyrene cups for hot drinks. If we come back to Rome we would probably look for somewhere nearer the main tourist sights.

    « Roman Holiday »

The service and location of Best Western was excellent!! I had read the reviews prior to coming, and they did not disappoint. I stayed 15 days, room facing the courtyard. It was quiet, the breakfast was amazing, no problem with internet (I was able to watch Netflix at night on my Ipad). I ate in the restaurant a couple of times, and the food was good. The Manzoni metro station is steps from the hotel, for $1.50euro. ATM, grocery store, pizza, and gelataria. The staff called taxi service for airport (48 euro) and for one of my excursions. I will most definitely stay here again. Amazing, friendly, staff!

    « Okay »

Nothing bad about the place but wouldn't be somewhere I would head back to. It's not in a great area though the staff are friendly enough - lacking facilities to be a 4 star hotel, wifi is hit and miss, drinks are reasonably priced but nothing stands out about the place

    « Rome adventures »

My first time visiting Rome so I was not familiar with the area. I took the train from Vicenza, so when I arrived to Rome I exited the train station and just started wandering around. One of the few hotels that actually look decent was this one. Spoke English and were very friendly. Hotel room was amazing. We got a suite that included a switch to change the preference on the color of the lights. Free breakfast was available, there was a lot of food prepared most people got more than one plate. The only downside was that you get charged a tax fee for not being a resident.

    1
« The hotel with secret charges..... »

Although my reservation price was agreed with booking, they asked for more money because (as they said) there is a luxury tax!!!!! I was supposed to check in sooner therefore they put me in another room for non-smokers although in my booking was for smokers. In the check out I was supposed to leave the room at 12+2 (14:00) but in the hotel they said me I had to leave the room even sooner, at 11:00!!!! The bed wasn't convenient and the room always had an awful smell. Also the restaurant although the stuff was very friendly, the dinner was too expensive regarding what it was offered...

« Not the best location but great hotel »

This hotel is located right next to a train station which makes it perfect for travelling (especially to and from the airport). However, the hotel is located about a 15 min walk from the Colosseum and then another 20 min walk to every other major attraction in Rome. Apart from the location, everything about the hotel is very good. There is a wide range of options at breakfast (the plates can sometimes be a little dirty), the bathroom has been newly renovated and there is free wifi. Overall the hotel is great value for money as it was considerably cheaper than any other hotel we looked at in Rome. However, if you are okay with paying a bit more for accommodation, I suggest you look at hotels located near the Trevi Fountain as this area had lots of restaurants / shops.

« Great room clean and cozy thanks to the Excellent and friendly House keeping staff! »

My husband had a meeting for work so i came along with him and we stayed at this nice place for 4 nights. The hotel is located near the stazione di termini thats just walking distance of 15mins or less, its also very accessible from there since you can take the metro just right outside the hotel. Also the colosseum is just 12mins of walk and going to the fontain of trevi wont take that much time aswell. Apart from the location of the hotel i love the house keeping staff they are very friendly and helpful. Since we stayed on the 5th floor the housekeeping staff assigned there were Lenette and Massimo. Both did a great job in cleaning the room and good in assisting with any needs. As for the breakfast they had a variety of food to choose from which is nice. When it comes to their internet connection their wifi works well so we were able to surf and read our emails. Lastly i hope they would be able to improve on the soundproofing of each room since the hotel is just along the road we can hear noise from outside and also from other neighboring rooms but its not so bad its just a minor thing. But all in all we had a pleasant stay in this hotel and we would love to come back again.

    « Great Location »

Stayed here in february of last year,we visited Rome over a 4 day break, hotel was clean bright and good value for money our location was excellent we were a 15 min walk from the colosseum and the local metro had a stop outside our hotel so was perfect good hotel and great location

« Great room, excellent staff! »

Stayed for three nights. Hotel is located next to the subway. Very clean and confortable room. Staff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast had excellent variety. Requested early breakfast on the day we check out and it was on time and free of charge. Would recommend it to anyone!

« Good location. Clean and cozy »

The BEST WESTERN Hotel President is very close to th3e main railway station Termini in Rome. Nevertheless, the hotel is located in a pretty quiet neighborhood. The metro station Manzoni is almost facing the hotel entrance; this was an added value on arrival by train and also to reach the city center. The room service and the staff are good, especially for the very good price. Rooms are OK; the WiFi is free and it works well enough for surfing the Web and reading emails. The only negative aspect is the rooms' soundproofing which is quite bad in this hotel; I could hear someone answering the phone in the other room. Besides, I could not sleep properly due to men at work in the main road (I stayed at the 5th floor). I have no particular complain for the breakfast. The food and beverages were not so dusty, although there is definitely room for improvement. The general price for money is decent. I will come back.

« Lovely hotel, good location. »

There aren't many negatives about this hotel, it's near the metro, walking distance from the colosseum and other attractions, clean, lovely breakfast and exceptional service. When we arrived there was a problem with the bathroom, my partner queried at reception and they moved us straight away! The room's are a little small and the wifi was a little slow, this wasn't that much of a big deal as we barely spent anytime at the hotel! Overall was very good and will definitely stay again.

« Great stay for a weekend vacation!! »

Stayed over the weekend for a few days. The hotel staff was great. I was pleased with their hospitality and service was awesome. The room was adequate for the 4 of us. Remember that most places in Italy are small. We had a king bed and a small twin bed in the room. Adequate for my wife and I, and my two boys. Breakfast downstairs was good and the staff was very polite and spoke good English. It was complimentary with the stay. The restaurant/bar area was also very good. They had a small menu, and the food selection was on point. I was very pleased with the stay and would recommend this spot. We were walking distance from the Colloseum and the train station. You can pick up a day pass from them on the Green Line which was great. I plan on staying here again in the future...

    « Good option »

This hotel is great option for sightseeing visitors. Close to the metro station (entrance just in front of the hotel door), many supermarkets around. Walking distance to Colosseum was important to us!

    4
« Standard hotel in great location »

The hotel ticked all the standard boxes. Free wifi, good enough size room, standard breakfast. We stayed 7 days and the room while not big was big enough to live in. Perfect position walking distance to colloseum and other ruins. Metro directly outside the hotel so it is easy to get other places in rome. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

« A very nice hotel for the standards of Rome in a great price »

We visited Rome and stayed in this hotel during the timeframe 08-11/01 (3 nights). 1) Room Size. We choose a Superior Room (room 512). The size was very adequate for the standards of Rome and no issues found there. Large Bathroom, very large bed and more than enough walking space. 2) Cleanliness. No issues found there also. Only comment is that if the bottles of soap and shampoo are half, please go ahead and add a replacement or an additional one. Don't let them finish because they are not enough for a 2nd shower. 3) Noise. There was some noise coming inside from the hotel (corridors, kids, the maids during the morning). No noise coming from the street. 4) View. Nothing special. Just the street. 5) Location. 10 meters in front of the metro station that can lead you in 10 minutes practically everywhere. The tram is 20 meters away where in 3 minutes you are in Colosseum. For the the walkers, Fontana di Trevi and Piazza di Spagna are about 25 minutes walk and Colosseum 12 minutes. 6) Breakfast. Very nice, everything fresh, nice selection of local products, fresh espresso/cappuccino served with a very nice pie, and large buffet which is constantly filled. 7) Reception. Not very helpful actually. They do their role, but in terms of suggestions and instructions they are a bit limited/bored. 8) Price of the room. I paid via booking about 80€ per night for the Superior room in an off season timeframe. It would be a bit better, but I would not argue for that. 9) Facilities. Free Wifi everywhere (a bit slow though) and free internet point with ability to print something if you want etc. Nice...

    « Great location! »

Great Location, nice room, pleasant stay! But we waited until 15.00 to check in and when we checked out they told us city tax was not included and we had to pay extra. (we had booked online not from hotel's site..)

« Mediocre Hotel, Miserable Desk Staff »

I stayed at this hotel for a week and I will never be returning. No matter how nice you are to the desk staff, they are rude, cold, dismissive and stand-offish. Also, if you think after a long flight that you will be checking into your hotel room at 2pm, think again. According to them, check-in doesn't start at 2pm, it starts AFTER 2pm (which means whenever they feel like giving you your room and/or whenever they get finished cleaning the rooms). So I ended up not getting my room until about 2:45pm. That 45 minutes makes a difference when you've been traveling for almost 24 hours and you're tired and wiped out. The rooms were fine (nothing fancy which I expected), but what I didn't expect was how the walls are PAPER THIN! You could hear everything in the rooms next to you. At 10:30 at night, you could hear TV's, people talking on their phones, sneezing, coughing...just everything. Even the ear plugs I had only helped out slightly. So if sleep is important to you, skip this place. Oh, another thing is that one night after coming back to the hotel after a night out at about 2am, the desk clerk stopped me in the lobby and asked me what my room number was and what my name was (I guess to find out if I was supposed to be there or not). Do they do this to everyone that walks through the lobby in the middle of the night or just when they see a minority (I'm black)? After verifying with his computer that I was indeed a guest, suddenly he was nice as could be. What a jerk. I will never be staying here again.

« Under delivery of Women Package and House Keeping »

I was disappointed when I book I booked the women package. It was not till I complained 2 days after arrival did they send up the basket. There was no magazine or infusion of teas. They did not replenish any of the items that I used, nor did they apply the special mini bar rate to our bill. as you charge for the sevivice I feel that the extra charge was unjustified for a service we never recived. The housekeeping left emty wine glasses and dirty plates on a number of occasions w hen on returing to the room late at night I had to put them in the corridor

« Avoid if you are Asian »

We stayed 3 nights in December 2015 after Christmas. At the restaurant for breakfast, the waiters and waitresses would approach Caucasian guests to offer them hot beverages and cookies without the guests asking. For 3 mornings, no one approached us to offer the same. We observed the service crews did the same to other Asian guests. We had to take the hot beverages ourselves. We felt discriminated against by the restaurant service crew members.

    2
« There are a lot of beter hotels in Rome »

+ comfortable beds, close to Colosseum, Metro in front of the hotel - very thin walls (you can hear every word from the next room), questionable cleanliness, indifferent staff, reception area in need of uppdating,

    1
    « WORST Western Discrimination »

We were thoroughly appalled by the service given by the breakfast staff crew. We stayed for a total of 3 nights and had 3 breakfasts from 28 to 30 Dec. Each time was the same discrimination - the staffs would greet Caucasians even as they were walking into the restaurant, asking to serve them hot beverages and automatically brought out the cookies and cakes plates without the guests even asking. We did not get the same service for the 3 mornings, and we observed the same for all Asian guests at the restaurant. We had to get our own hot beverages, and when we asked for the tiny cup cakes (as they were really too tiny to be called muffins), the waiter was very impatient and went inside, got out and left the plate on our table and said "it is muffins, not cup cakes" in a very harsh tone. I wondered if we Asians pay much less than the Caucasians to deserve such discriminatory service. A front desk female officer was also very rude to us. On our second night of stay, we realised that we had asked for a modern room but at check in we were given an old room. So when my wife called the front desk on 28 Dec at about 9pm, the lady at the front desk was very rude towards my wife, blaming my wife for not telling her when we checked in. On 29 Dec morning, Mr. Ulbano was very helpful in getting us a newer room in a very efficient manner. We thanked Mr. Ulbano but we will tell all our friends, relatives, colleagues and business associates to avoid your hotel at all costs, if they do not want to be discriminated against after paying so much for the room.

best location ,just in front of metro station, walking distance from colosseum. Excellent restaurant nearby.Clean rooms but small . There is coffee machine and small refrigerator in the room . Breakfast was very good too.

« Afforable, clean hotel with a good location »

This hotel is fairly average, but I really liked the location. It was close to several good restaurants and walking distant from ancient Roman ruins (Coliseum, Palatine Hill, the Forum). The rooms are fairly small, but pretty on-par for most of Europe.

    4
« It is a beautiful hotel but it is not in the city center. »

It is a 4 stars beautiful hotel. Sevice is perfect. The rooms are clean & my room was city view. They have other rooms with back view which is not nice view. The Breakfast was tasty & they have variety in food : different cheeses with sausage & 2 types of eggs : Scrambled & boiled eggs. I enjoyed my Breakfast a lot. They have the best Gelato next door. You should try it. Don't forget that you will pay city tax per night directly to the hotel excluding the rate for the room that you booked. It is according to the rules of Italy. The only flow was that the hotel was not in the city center , we have to take the Metro everyday to go to the city center & enjoy its shops & cafes & we have to go back to the hotel before 12:00 AM as the metro is closed at 12:00 Am everyday & 10:00 PM on Sundays. So we didn't enjoy it as we felt that we are bounded with Time.

    « Close to Mansoni »

The Hotel is clean, comfortable and has location 10 minutes from Termini and 2 minutes from Mansoni and very convenient overall. The staff at the front desk is pretty comfortable. There's a church at the corner, so heard church bells in morning ringing, which made me feel I'm in Rome. A nice experience overall

    4
    « Near Metro »

Spent four nights in November, very clean, good bar and nice helpful staff. The traffic was noisy at first but soon realised the window would not shut fully, but once we reported it to front desk it was dealt with straight away and told if not fixable they would move us, luckily they fixed it. Only down side for me was the polystyrene cups they have in the rooms to have your tea and coffee in. Very convenient for the Metro station just yards away on the corner. The continental breakfast was very good and the small evening menu served in the bar was ok. All in all a very good hotel and value for only, would stay again if visiting Rome.

    5
    « very good price/quality balance »

Very good location in terms of public transport connectivity. Comfortable bed, small but well thought trough additions which show special care for the guest's comfort, like coffee/tea in the room, food/drinks dispenser at each floor, free high speed internet connection. Rich breakfast, very kind personnel in the restaurant.

    « What a hotel! »

I was skeptical, but the room I had was nice. The bathroom was decent and I was happy. The breakfast was ok too. The bar was small, but we made use of it! All-in-all, pleasantly surprised with that hotel!

« Learn metro before you go!!! »

Chose this hotel thru name your price on Priceline. I've had amazing results before when looking for higher priced hotels...we were just staying one day before catching our cruise so tried to be under 200$. Actually it was in the 158$ price but fees brought it to 200$ the top price I think for this hotel, for me anyway!! It did not seem 4 star but it was clean, bed comfortable, room small, bathroom modern and ok,tub lacking.i took a bath afraid to use the shower. We asked for room in back for quiet ,no view but that was fine. After a long day got to sleep and family with a few loud kids talked outside our room for a while. Little brat just liked to hand out in hallway and parents let him? Breakfast buffet was fine, free nothing special but passed for ok.lots of Brits thus that food. Kind of far from sites walking but metro right out the door if you know what you are doing. We don't speak Italian and didn't get help with that so we just walked! Front desk no personality either way. If you are going to cruise port take a taxi 12 euro to termini then catch regular train to port about an hour,it's the last stop. You can get to port by easy walk 10 min, to free shuttle that takes you right to ship. FYI taxi at port tries to say ship is an hour a way,it's not!! They want 20 e to drive you about a mile or less ,pretty walk and we had a lot of luggage. If you get this hotel cheap it's fine

    3
« Short Stay in Rome »

Good for a short stay, I stayed for one night, service on the reception counter seemed adequate, lifts too small and cramped in mornings, Room neat and clean but the single bed a bit too single (smaller in width). Washroom clean and water pressure fine but the setting, the length width ratio a bit out of proportion.

    4
    « Pleasant weekend stay »

Stayed here for a weekend. Really comfy beds! Had a huge balcony but no amazing views. Perfectly situated outside Manzoni Station so easy to get around Rome. 10 min walk from colosseum. Good breakfast selection. Friendly staff. WiFi worked perfectly in all areas of hotel!

« Excellent hotel, great location, friendly helpful staff, good room and good breakfast. »

Had 4 nights at the Best western Hotel President from 2nd November and I have to say we were completely happy with our stay. Location is excellent being only 10 minutes walk from the colosseum, forum and palatine with plenty of other attractions nearby. Tube is literally outside the front door making other areas easily accessible. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and our good sized room with kingsized bed was great. It was nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room as well. Bathroom was spotless and well equipped. Breakfast was plentiful and varied enough for most tastes. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and would not hesitate to use it again.

« Great location to see the sights! »

Just back from spending 4 nights at the Best Western Hotel President in Rome. It's in a great location just 10-12 minutes walk from the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and the Arch of Constantine. At the back of the Roman Forum then, is the walkway to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - a more modern but stunning piece of architecture along with the lively Piazza Venezia where you'll see Rome in full flow. If you're not up to walking, the Manzoni Metro stop is just outside the front door and costs just €1.50 each for a one trip journey that stops close to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and St Peter's Square/ Vatican. just take the Battistini line and you won't go wrong. If you're lucky enough to travel on the 1st Sunday of each month - you'll be able to access all state archeological sites for free on that day. So, you'd be wise to do as much as your legs can take to save the most. The hotel is very clean, modern and rooms are well presented. The breakfast provided consists of cold and hot foods with a very wide selection to leave you well fed before you set out on your travels for the day. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Only slight negative point relates to having only polystyrene cups in the room for coffee/tea etc. Seems to be out of place and not suited considering how well the hotel presents in general. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Rome and would have no hesitation in returning there!

    « Excellent Stay.. »

We stayed here in October'15. Its was a very convenient location. Manzoni metro station is just next to the hotel. Tram line also 200 mts away. the hotel is on the main road junction but we stayed on the 6th floor so wasn't noisy. The staff is exceptionally helfpul & polite... Quick check-in and checkout without any hassles.

    « Great Hotel »

The hotel is plain looking, but once inside it is very nice and well maintained. Our room was located on the 6th floor and was nicely appointed and very comfortable. The bathroom was exceptionally nice. Breakfast was ample with plenty of choice. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Wi-Fi was excellent and we were able to check in and print boarding passes from the free business point in the lobby. The hotel is in an excellent location - there are a number of good restaurants nearby, and being close to the metro it was just 10 minutes to the centre of Rome. After a long day sightseeing it was great to jump off a train and walk straight into the hotel. We would certainly stay here again.

    « Not quite 4 star »

Proximity to metro station very good. Breakfast was good, usual choice of meats, fruits breads and some hot options. If you want tea with breakfast they don't seem to have lids to their teapots so will generally come with a saucer over it! The staff were helpful when needed, always a good morning or evening. We where on 5 th floor so this helps cut down the noise from main road. The double glazing helps as well. The bed was comfortable and the sheets good quality. I am sorry but the room furnishings look tired, especially the floor covering, that matting! Also the lounge chair covered in faded pink velvet with cigarette burns in it! Classy. Even more classy where the polystyrene cups provided for your in tea/coffee facilities. The TV stand also Had cigarette burns on it. We spent very little time in the hotel, and when we did it was to sleep, not a room I would want to spend much time in. Lots of positives but some aspects just made me think.....YUK,!

    « Good location »

Nice hotel close to the Colleseum. Local area is a little "rugged" but convenient for underground trains to Termini Station. Breakfast is included and whilst it is a little basic it is convenient and stops you having to go out first thing. Weather was very hot but air conditioning was functioning well. Good tourist hotel....nothing special but everything you need for a short trip. Hotel is next door to a Cinema and an Ice cream shop.

« Excellent location, more than adequate for our needs. »

As stated the Hotel is in a very good location being situated next to a metro station and just a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum and a little further to Rome`s central attractions. We were fortunate to be allocated a room in a quiet part of the hotel on the third floor. It was clean and comfortable enough and met all our requirements. We found the staff courteous, helpful and friendly.A decent selection for breakfast, something to suit all tastes but don`t expect the earth, it is after all basically somewhere to lay your head in between experiencing the beauty of Rome. If you want luxury and fine dining you`ll have to pay for it, there are plenty of hotels in Rome that fit the bill. We stayed here as part of a tour company which it seems is a big part of this hotel`s business. They fit the purpose admirably. We intend returning to Rome in the future and will do it on our own now we are a bit more familiar. We will look into staying here again.

« Not quite the best but very handy »

We were based in the President with a tour company. It's biggest asset is its location. Right above the Manzoni metro link and the No3 tramline and a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum. As city centre hotels go it was OK and there was a real "buzz" about the locale with excellent eateries at a reasonable price. We found an excellent Sardinian restaurant which we re visited often.. We were in room 516 so well away from the city noise with view over the front of the hotel looking down the Via Emanuele Filiberto. We were on B&B and the breakfast was only adequate in terms of quality but you could eat as much as you wanted buffet style. Tinned fruit, sucrose rich pastries, fruit drinks from a vending machine and less than average coffee. Staff were excellent both in the lobby and the restaurant. The room was OK although the fan didn't work in the steamy bathroom.

    « Really good hotel »

A well situated hotel, virtually a stones throw from the metro. Pleasant staff, and really hard working. The room was great with all amenities. Breakfast was amazing, with everything you could want. Only sour note was the city tax you have to pay on departure. But all hotels charge this.Would definitely recommend a stay here.

    « Good handy hotel »

We stayed here with a tour group for a few days in Rome. Our room was clean not huge but we had enough space. Tea coffee making facilities, hotel safe and an excellent hot shower. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and they offer a very wide choice including a hot breakfast. Lots of choice and you can eat as much as you wish. We found the staff friendly and helpful with much better English than our Italian! Hotel has a metro stop right outside and is a 15min walk from the colleseum. Enjoyed our stay and would go back

« Decent option for Rome sight seeing »

Stayed here for a quick personal jaunt based on TA recommendations. Reviewers here are generally spot-on. Positives: reasonable nightly rates (especially for Diamond members), good service, free breakfast, small business center for guest use, decent Internet speed, directly next to Manzoni Metro stop Negatives: Distant from most Rome sites by foot, fewer restaurant options compared to the main thoroughfares Really no complaints and would recommend for visitors. Fairly good quick café on corner too.

    « Not a Four Star Hotel »

This hotel is rated a four star but it is not. The staff are rude, the rooms are mediocre. Our particular room had wood veneer peeling away from the sink, window sill, etc which kept snagging my clothing. The actual window in our bathroom wanted to fall off its hinges and crash into the room. There was no place to put our clothes except for a small closet. We had to live out of our suitcases. Breakfast was provided but it was OK. I wanted a 4 star and received at best a 3 star, not worth the money and taxes (which is 6 euro per person per night).

    « Convenient Location »

This hotel is in a very convenient location with only a few steps to the subway. Very plain from the outside but lovely inside with modern rooms and lobby areas. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean. The rooms are small but nicely appointed. I was impressed by the quality linens and bed. Don't expect a pretty view. The staff were friendly and service-oriented. The cost is fair.

the hotel is at a very convenient location, the metro station is nearby, the price is reasonable with breakfast, services were good and staffs were nice, and room was clean and neat. I had a comforting stay in Rome. you could walk around 15mins all the way from hotel to Colosseum, Antieke Rome on foot.

    « Excellent value! »

I was in a bind and needed a hotel room at the last minute. The room was tiny but just fine for me. The bathroom was very modern and nice. No view, but it's ok. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The location is right on top of the metro, very easy for getting to the airport and carrying luggage. The staff was incredibly helpful and inviting. Thanks for giving me a safe space in my situation!

    « Very good location »

The metro is about 6 steps from the front door. The building looks like it is from the 50s-60s. No charm, which you would expect in RoTme. The room was fine. The furniture was light wood, which I would expect from that time period. The shower had a rain shower head, but it was hard to operate. I slipped once and have a huge bruise. To me, it was not worth 4 stars.

    « Lovely Rome »

The hotel location is very good with resturants and cafes around. Room is very convinient with relaxing bed. Hpwever if you are staying in md or low floors you will be interupted night by the noise of the street. The breakfast is good and sevice is excelent especially the freindly Mrco. The people at the reception are not freindly and you can't buy a smile from them even they answer your questions.

« Nice rooms, meals and convienance »

I was really pleased for the money what we got. We had only 3 days in Rome so being right on the subway was great. Two stops up and we were in walking distance to all of the old Rome activities. One day we walked to the Colosseum just to experience the city a little and it took only 20 minutes. They have a big nice breakfast every morning. Also has a parking garage under the hotel but it costs 25 Euro per day.

« Clean hotel fairly close to the action »

Hotel very close to the colosseum and forum but a little bit of a hike (or taxi) to the pantheon and piazza navolo. However there are many restaurants stores and fantastic gelato just a couple of doors away. Taxis and other types of transport readily available. We took a pedicab one day that was interesting in the Rome traffic. The staff was very accommodating and helpful especially when we needed airport shuttle which was very reasonable - approx $50 euros for 4 people. The airport is being remodeled right now do allow extra time for confusion there. The dining hall was cavernous and basically self serve. Good wifi in our room and very clean.

    « Nice hotel »

I went to this hotel in may with my family. Everything was perfect! The location, the breakfast in the morning and room was confortable! The staff is efficient and smart, at check in time the man at the desk asked me many information about my airport transfert and he organize for me the shuttle to go back 4 days before departure; i was a little bit disappointed about this, but does'nt matter, the service in general was ok.
