« Worst hotel service ever! »

The receptionist is extremely rude and arrogant. They are treating us as if we are staying in refugee camps for free! Their language and attitude is something I have never seen in my life! Furthermore, they are charging us 30€ per night to park the car and I must keep the key with them, but on the other side, they refuse to give me a receipt against the key telling me "those are our rules and if you don't like you can go park it on the street." But when I booked the room I booked a hotel with Parking. Also, they insisted on doing pre-authorization on my credit card although I was offering paying them the full amount directly using the same card without pre-authorization. After doing pre-authorization, the receptionist asked me if I want to pay now. Of course I said no. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone! If they want to take all their guarantees, but don't want to give you any guarantees, be sure that it is not safe in there. I will remove my car and park it somewhere else and maybe pay more, but keep my key with me rather than waking up the next day and not find the car. I am afraid they would kick us out after this review, but I wrote it anyway.

« Great location and friendly staff »

Couldn't be a better location and area to be in. Practically at termini station and next to the opera house. The staff is friendly but don't let them talk you into buying the blue city Roma hop on hop off bus. They only have 4 buses. The red sightseeing Rome bus has 14 buses and covers on some of their buses. You will spend more of your time waiting instead of enjoying. Also their beds are nice but to hard for my taste. Also realize their pillows are like pancakes compared to what I'm use to in the USA. Breakfast ample and well presented.

« Good hotel near bus and train stations »

This hotel is in an area popular with tourists. It a gracious, old-style hotel with high ceilings and Los of bric a brac. If you ask for a room at the back, it will be very quiet. The rooms are spotless and well-maintained. Breakfast is very dull for a Best Western. Absolutely the same very day! The office staff is friendly and helpful and can give good tips on where to go for dinner. It is good value for Rome, where hotels tend to be very expensive.

    « Average »

This hotel was selected because of its location and its rating. The rooms looked good on paper but the one we were given for our two night stay (105) was clean but dark. Even with the shutters open, light was at a premium and there was little to recommend it. With the windows open, the traffic noise was audible as the room was above a busy street. No tea making facilities in the room. The hotel general areas are also dark. Breakfast is average with no toaster on display and tea and coffee from a machine - not what we would have expected. The location is good for the Termini and local market, cafes and even McDonalds. There is also a small supermarket opposite the entrance... Staff were very helpful with local dining and reservations. Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain are easy to walk to if you are reasonably able and for the more mobile, all major attractions are manageable. A travel ticket for the Metro could be useful for a speedier circuit to take in all the sites.

« Typical Roman 4 Star hotel - comfortable and good value. »

Hotel Mondial is a typical large 4 star hotel in Rome, very close to the Termini. My double room was the best I've stayed I've slept in, in Rome, very comfortable and clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Relatively late checkout time too. This hotel offers excellent value for money, much cheaper than some budget two or three star hotels close by. The breakfast is adequate, though not worth paying extra for. - Highly recommended.

« Nice hotel close to Termini. »

I was in Rome for one night on Sept 3rd and chose this hotel because of it's close proximity to Termini station. The staff was helpful and the rooms were nice and clean. The wifi was free, there's a bus stop a min walk from the hotel and there were plenty of restaurants and little shops in the area. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again when in Rome.

« Great stay, convenient location »

The hotel is very central. 5 minutes of walk from the Opera House and 20 from Termini. The room was clean, more spacious than we were expecting. Fairly quiet, free wi-fi, safe and fridge in the room. Bathroom did not have a bath tub, there was a hair dryer though.

    « Vaca »

Hotel was incredible. Room was clean and comfortable. Great location, was able to walk to a lot of the attractions we wished to see. Breakfast had a large variety of food, all delicious! Will return, if able, in the future.

« Good Hotel and Location »

Hotel Mondial is a good hotel to use when visiting Rome. It has a very good location with easy walking to many sites and the main train station. Room size is good, price a bit high, but it is Rome. I spent 5 nights there in 2 different rooms. I like a firm mattress, but their beds are extremely hard and pillows flat, so ask for more pillows and bring some Ibuprofen. European shower is a bit awkward to move in and keep the water inside, but heck it has a bidet and we all use those, right? Decent breakfast, ATM across the street and great gelato next door and good restaurants near by. PLus bus service near by.

    « Never again! »

We got to this hotel and checked in. The hotel was nice but the staff was not. They took us up to our room and we noticed it was very warm. We turn on the air conditioner, it wasn't working. We called downstairs and they sent a repair man. He came and told us all of the air conditioners in the building were down and said he could bring us a fan and that we should open the window. I went downstairs and asked the manager why he didn't tell us all of the air conditioners were broken when we checked in, he said because he didn't know. At that moment other guest were leaving because the rooms were so hot and they had checked in before us. We knew he wasn't telling us the truth. He was very rude and said if we have a problem we can talk to the owner in the morning but that he wouldn't refund our money so we could go stay in another hotel. We had to sleep in a hot room all night and it was really sad because it was our last night in Rome and our last night in Italy. We ended our trip with a manager who was so rude and didn't want to accommodate us in any way. All of the other hotels we stayed at were wonderful. Here's my final advise, when in Rome..... don't stay at Hotel Mondial.

« Excellent hotel in an ideal location with great service »

My husband and I stayed here from the 11th of August 2016 till 15th August in room111. The hotel is very appealing and has a nice ambience. The room is very spacious, clean and has a pleasing look. The sleep quality is good as it is in a quiet location and yet very central. The air conditioning is excellent. The bathroom is also very big and very clean. It is walking distance from the Termini Station and the Diocletian baths is just stone's throw away. It is also close to all other historical sites. We walked it to the Colosseum in 20 minutes. It was 7 minutes walk to the pick up point for the day tour to Capri by Green Line Tours (excellent trip). The check in time is 3 pm and breakfast is served at 6:45 am and at 7:30 am on Sundays and holidays The Staff is cheerful and helpful. There is mini market across the street. There is an Indian restaurant 'King Food' serving very good Indian food very close to the hotel and next to Green Line Tour (GLT) office on the Via Giovanni Amendola

    « Lovely, clean hotel »

This hotel was just right for us. Not too far from any of the places we wanted to visit. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was also very clean. Our air conditioned rooms were cleaned daily. The only downside was the poor quality of the breakfast as the pastries were not fresh at all. Tea and coffee making facilities are not provided in rooms unless you ask for them, and they are free. Oh and the bar shuts at 10pm.

    « Pleasant surprise »

Despite other reviews I found this hotel very good. Location is excellent , central , near Termini station - 5 min walk, but in a clean and quiet street . The staff is very helpfull, discrete and polite. Rooms are very clean, decent size with comfortable beds and a good bathroom with good shower pressure. It is true that I didn't like the interior design wich is dated, but all furniture is well kept.If you intend to visit Rome and you will be out all day long this hotel is very good. Breakfast is not their strongest point , but for me was enough, you can find something to eat.

    « Location is perfect »

We started and ended our trip to Rome by train, having caught the train from the airport, so the location of this hotel was perfect for us. It is just five minutes' walk from the railway station and within walking distance of most of the attractions, for example the Coliseum. There is also a Metro station around the corner if you want to go further, such as the Vatican. The hotel is a typical four star establishment, efficiently run and will meet most expectations. Would stay there again next time I visit.

« The coolest place in Rome. »

Started and ended or trip at the Hotel Mondial and will come here again. Super smart and kind staff, comfortable rooms and Air-conditioned!! Great location! A few blocks from the main termini- easy walk to major sights!

« Nice enough hotel in centre of Rome »

We stayed here for three nights for a weekend break in Rome. The staff were all friendly and the hotel well run; if a bit tired around the edges. Our rate included breakfast, but if you didn't have it included, I'm sure I heard them say it was only €3 per person. Nothing special, but fine if you just want some pastries, cereal and a coffee.

« Great hotel, great location, great staff »

The hotel is in a great location for most things. The termini station is only a 5 minute walk away. The spanish steps, Trevi Fountain and The Colosseum are all about 30 minutes from the hotel. Take comfortable walking shoes though. The streets are cobbled and we went in July, and the temperature was 41c. I wore sandals which was a huge mistake. The staff at the hotel were always very polite and helpful and on the first night the man at reception recommended a restaurant to us. It was the best meal we had all holiday. We went for 3 nights which was perfect to do all the big sight seeing stuff. Allow a full day for the Vatican as there is a lot of queuing involved. We managed to do the Colosseum, Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain in a day and then spent the last day doing some other little bits we hadn't seen but read about. The hotel isn't really situated near a lot of bars or restaurants but we just walked until we found somewhere. To be warned ladies, the toilet situation in Rome isn't as nice as you would expect. Always make sure you carry a pack of tissues in your bag and antibac gell!! Our hotel room was lovely. Very spacious and the bathroom was good too. No bath, just a shower, not that it bothered us. The shower was very good and powerful too. All very clean. The only thing to let the hotel down was the breakfast. It wasn't bad, just a bit basic. Did us fine though. More continental rather than a hot breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Vacation »

Beautiful hotel! Great, helpful staff! Easy walk to and from the train station even with luggage and the construction. The bathrooms were also beautiful and there was plenty of shelf space for unpacking clothes! Only negative was on the fifth floor it was hot. Offer made to move, but it was not convenient for us to pack everything up.

« Great Location, Great Hospitality »

The Reception team was very kind and helpful. They answered all the questions patiently. Whenever I decide to visit Rome again I will stay definitely again in this Hotel. The location is very close to Roma Termini station and most beautiful places. Thanks for everything.

    « great hotel »

We have stayed at the Mondial on 4 occasions since 2008 and cannot fault its service in any respect. On our next trip to Rome later this year we would not considering any other hotel. We have recommended it to many friends who all share our views. The staff were particularly helpful and considerate when we were stranded, and had to return to Rome with the 2010 Iceland volcano crisis, helping us with accommodation at other GW Hotels in Europe as we struggled to get to Paris. Highly recommended!!!

    « Wonderful value »

This 4 star hotel centrally aituated is within walking distance of most of the sites in Rome. The rooms are well designed with all mod cons and very good airconditioning. My room a compact single room on the 4th floor was very quiet. The breakfast buffet at 3 euro is very good value and there is a good choice. Two very minor points- when you leave in the morning ask for your room to be cleaned if you intend to return in the early afternoon.Secondly bring a small kettle if you want coffee in your room.( There are many small bars in the area where you can buy coffee for 1 euro)The staff were all extremely polite Will recommend this hotel

« Nice hotel off the beaten path »

The only issue was the paper thin walls. But the hotel is clean, the wait staff was very professional, and the hotel, overall, is in a good position and puts you were you want to be at the right price. I would recommend the stay. The breakfast was decent but the night life surrounding the hotel was worth it.

« Close to city center but..... »

Well priced hotel that is walking distance to everything. Only complaint was my room was very noisy but I guess that's to be expected when you are in heart of Rome. Recommended if you need access to Termini station Free breakfast was adequate and Internet connection was good.

« Great hotel close to Rome train station »

We were originally planning on staying at the airport for our morning flight as we were only in Rome for half a day. Found this hotel online and it was a great location short walk (10 min) from the train station and walking distance to all amenities. Would definitely stay there again. Hotel was reasonably priced.

« BW Mondial - A Night at the Opera »

This is truly a great location for visit to Rome especially if you are planning a night at the opera. It's central location is a seven-minute walk from the train station and it has quick access to two main walking routes. The decor is aligned with opera house next door - sort of a "Liberace meets King Midas" flare. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was very friendly. Our room was ready when promised (2:00 pm). The room was clean, nicely decorated and a good size but the bed was situated very close the closet doors making it difficult to access. The bathroom was clean and large - again the shower was plumbed with the shower head in the center of the long wall making it feel very cramped. Breakfast was not included for us at 3 Euro per person per day - OK if you plan on eating all of what they have to offer (typical continental) but you can't take a tray to your room - no "TO GO" cups available sort of thing. I really liked this hotel for our four nights in Rome and am glad to have stayed here.

« Your Staff went above and beyond. »

This is a beautiful hotel. The reason why I'm writing this review is to tell everyone how helpful, kind and very professional the staff is at the desk. We got lost because our phone didn't work. When we did get there they helped us find a place to buy a GPS. (because of our phone problem) They helped us find a wonderful restaurant and also made delicious suggestions. In all this Hotels was clean and had the friendliest staff. Please tell these men how wonderful they were to us. Thank You!!! I would go back in a heart beat.

« Good Features, uneven service »

PROS: Lovely, sparkling clean hotel in good location. Nice staff if you're lucky. Nice breakfast for only 3 euros. CONS: Dangerous shower design-can really get hurt trying to get in and out of shower. Some staff can be arrogant, refusing to help, annoyed with questions. Used car service from hotel-bad idea. NO AC in car, driver would not shut window-cost $60!

    « Italian Resting place »

Good location, nice rooms, courteous staff, clean, very nice bar/lounge area with friendly ,accommodating bar maid. Did not serve breakfast on our visit? Within walking distance of nice, good restaurants and other sights.

« Very pleasant and well located »

Had a two night break in Rome and this hotel was perfect. We'll located and a reasonable walk from Termini. Room was pleasant, clean, well equipped and the wi-fi worked fine. Breakfast was reasonable with some choice and coffee was very good. Didn't have that much interaction with the staff but when we did they were pleasant and helpful. Local area is fine with good restaurants for sitting orders and watching the world go by. Excellent value all round and would return.

« Returning here every time when available! »

We ve been coming here with my family for some time already, and recommend it to family and friends as well, all satisfied! Not too much to say, just positive things: well positioned, clean, great service, good breakfast and just a pleasure to come back every time when in Rome!

« Great place to stay in Rome »

We were visiting Rome for our Golden Wedding Anniversary so we wanted it to be special and it was. Very near centre of Rome, within walking distance of Train, Metro and lots of sights. The staff couldn't do enough for us . We had booked a tour before leaving England but the company had not replied to us , we asked at the reception if they could help. The man behind the desk immediately rang the company and had everything sorted out in minutes. The rooms like the rest of the hotel was spotless, the breakfasts were very good plenty of variety to suit all tastes. I would return to this hotel if ever I went back to Rome.

    « Convenience And comfort »

Hotel's location is strategic whatever the purpose of stay! 5 minute walking from Termini station, right next to Subway station, surrounded by Restaurants, pizzerias, cafes And fast-food facilities for all tastes, above all Its position allows you to reach most roman attractions by foot! Shopping in the area is also possible And amusing. Hotel is never noisy, rooms Have no view but they are well kept And at ideal temperature. Breakfast could be improved but it is fresh And varied. All ambients are spotless And personnel courteous and helpful.

    « Convenience. »

I chose this hotel mainly due to the location, conveniently situated between the train station and the starting area for the Rome Marathon. Expect acceptable quality and average value for money. After checking in, we realised that the door lock wasn't working. Ended up using one of those old fashioned hotel keys. Which is kind of ?retro? if you look at it positively. After all, it's Rome.

    « 7 day City Break »

Very clean hotel and 4th floor, spacious room which had comfortable bed. Bathroom was spotless. Breakfast plentiful and the 10.30 finish was a pleasant surprise, making a leisurely start to the day. Staff very courteous and were helpful in suggesting restaurants. (Advice to reception staff - it would have been nice, on leaving, to have been asked if we enjoyed our stay in Rome - we did, but nobody enquired as it was all business at that stage.) Hotel very well located for Metro, train station and all sightseeing trips. Spoilt for choice for bars and restaurants in vicinity of hotel. Highly recommend Cotta Bar and Restaurant which is next door to hotel. We were more than happy with the hotel, staff, amenities and locality and would recommend it to other travellers.

    « Very good But »

Very clean room, attentive front of house staff, However don't expect much from the bar staff Friday 10pm you go to the bar after checking the bar opening times which say it closes at 11:45 and you are told you can only have beer and the bar closes at 10pm. We wanted coffee but no only beer. We finally got cola and beer but we told we could not stay in the bar! The barmaid was incredibly rude

    « great experience »

The hotel was in a very good location. The rooms and hotel were clean, very nice and the staff was very helpful. The staff made suggestions for restaurants and other helpful tips. The breakfast was great and saved time getting started in the morning. We had an issue that had nothing to do with the hotel, but they were helpful in trying to remedy the situation .

« Very nicely appointed, but unprofessional service »

The hotel is very well appointed and decorated. The reception staff is courteous and professional, however, the bar personnel were inattentive and chatting with friends. Very clean and comfortable overall.

« Excellent hotel, location, and amenities »

Stayed with two friends in a triple room for a weekend in April. Found it by chance online and it had a great fare (price of a 3 star hotel). We were extremely satisfied. The room were clean and furnished (except nothing in the minibar). The hotel is in an excellent location near metro and bus stations, a few minutes from the Termini train station, and walking distance from many historic sites. We didn't try the breakfast at EUR 3 but we opted for coffee and pastries at Dagnino (see my review) a minute walk from the hotel. There are plenty of other coffee houses but this we found to be the best.

« Misrepresentation during the booking process »

Please be careful when booking this Hotel : the fee seems to be interseting for a Rome centrally located hotel, but they will find a reason for applying an quite higher price because you have not your "car club" card.... condition not expained during booking.... Not correct at all !

« Fantastic location- great base for sightseeing »

The Hotel is in a great location, close to via Nazionale and Piazza della Repubblica, two Metro stops and the main station (Termini). Despite this it is down a relatively quiet side street, my room overlooked the street and I was woken up by some traffic noise in the morning, but not too early and not a significant issue. The hotel is in a lovely old building reception had an air of authenticity and slightly faded grandeur. The breakfast room was on the mezzanine. My room was spacious with high ceilings and pleasant decor - the only complaint was a lack of easily accessible plugs for charging tech, a must for business travel. Breakfast was at best average, but given the local norm-coffee and cornetto- I guess not surprising. The staff were exceptionally helpful, I arrived late at night and was asking questions about the best route to my out of town meetings the following day- they were very patient. After returning from a long business meeting it was fabulous to step outside the door into the heart of Rome. A pleasant and affordable place from which to discover the magic of this amazing city.

« Exceeded my expectations and a good value »

This hotel was a pleasant Surprise. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nicer than the pictures led me to believe. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped and clean, the wifi worked well, the closet was well laid out. As an American I find most hotel rooms in Europe to be small. That said, by European standards this room was very comfortable. The only draw back is that it is a bit of a long walk from the train station to this hotel with a bag. But I did it twice without any real issues. For under 100 per night I was very pleased. I would stay here again without hesitation.

    « Lovely Hotel »

So after a bad experience we checked out of a previous hotel and checked in to Best Western. The check in staff were helpfull and friendly.Check in is at 3 pm. We arrived in to the room and the porter followed up with our bags. The room has a tv,safe, fridge,a telephone and free wifi.It was cleaned daily with fresh towels. No complaints at all.A lovely breakfast on the the 1st floor for 3euro per person. The hotel is located in a great spot with bars, restaurants, all close by.I would stay here again for sure

« Good but just missing the final touch. »

The hotel in general looks lovely in the communal areas with nice decoration and seating. The bar area was small but adequate but only had bottled beers (but this was okay for me). The rooms are very nice and again decorated to a good standard. The bed was very comfy. The only drawback with the room was it was too hot and you couldn't open the windows because of the noise. The hotel offered tea and coffee facilities in your room if you so needed. The reception area and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast did let the place down a little but that maybe me being a little fussy as I prefer hot scrambled egg on toast not cold but I did eat it all. Finally the surcharge of 12 Euros on you bill as a local tax is not a problem but they do want cash and that could be a problem if you haven't got any! Overall I'll stay again, not a bad experience.

« The right place at the right price »

This hotel has friendly staff and an elegant feel, maintaining the quality expected of a Best Western. It is superbly situated for anyone arriving in Rome by train and it offers some excellent value for money deals. I am very happy to recommend this hotel and would use it again without hesitation.

« Value for money (if you find a price under 100 euros per night) »

It is the second time we stayed at Best Western Hotel Mondial and again it was a very good stay. Staff at reception (especially Natalia) and everybody was keen to help and give you any advice or guidance on where to go, where to eat and drink. Rooms are big in comparison to Rome hotel rooms (we stayed at 3rd floor, room 316), clean and the mattresses comfortable, so we had a nice sleep. One thing that needs immediate improvement is breakfast. As it was the case the last time we stayed there, breakfast is poor. It's not terrible, but for a 4-star hotel is mediocre. Some days the cake was bad, some other days good. Also, juices are not fresh and that's unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. They need to add variety but mainly quality is needed urgently. Location of the hotel is excellent. Next to metro station (Repubblica) and to Via Nazionale where you can find almost every bus you like to go wherever you desire. Also you can be at the historic center (Pantheon, Fontana di Trevi) after a 15-20 minute walk. I would definitely stay there again, but please improve breakfast quality.

    « Nice central hotel »

A very nice hotel, area very safe very close to central station. Fast wifi. Only negative the single rooms, clean, new but veru small. Overall an excellent choice to stay in the station area. Don't have doubts about the area, very safe, full of people (and police) 24/24..

« Good stayover near Roma Termini Station »

We stayed here for our first night, before taking the train the following morning to first visit Florence. Well-situated hotel, with a reasonably-sized room, considering the typical small European hotel room. Bathroom was nicely equipped with enough space for a tub/shower combo, toilet, bidet, sink, and a bit of moving room. On a side-street of a bit of a touristy neighborhood, but not necessarily a negative. Elevator slightly slow, but unless you're with your luggage, the stairs are a perfectly acceptable alternative.

« Highly recommended to explore Rome! »

Staff is very friendly. The room looked old but very clean. The beds did not seem the most new, but overall were comfortable. It has access to two subway stations nearby. If you like walking, you get to the main attractions of the city on foot. It is also very near the Termini train station, which is very important if you want to travel around the region. Recommended to know Rome.

    « Very good hotel »

Good location with friendly staff and good service. Clean with an okay breakfast. We had to order a breakfast box one morning because we had an early day tour. the breakfast boxes are not worth it at all we were very disappointed to see that they only give you 2 biscuits jam and small juice. rather but a sandwich elsewhere.

    « Good enough »

The Hotel overall was good. The A/C was not working properly so I had to open the windows. The bed was small but comfortable. The shower was nice enough too. Other than that the room was small but clean with just a subtle smell to cigarettes. Overall an average experience.

    « Great location »

My second visit to Rome I really enjoyed the trip once again. The hotel is in a great location with a shop just across the road which was convenient but expensive The hotel was clean and the room was modern and up to date with a fridge the aircon was not working but when I looked at more reviews on here sounds like the hotel does not have it turned on the Only problem I had was the bed a brand new concrete mattress with 2 mm of give at the most I would recommend fetching an air bed to use on top as u wake up battered and stiff 4 nights in it was herrendous I think it would be more comfortable in the jungle on I'm a celeb The breakfast was contiental and boring but ok for a few days. the staff was friendly enough and helpful a great service at the bar as well very quite but cheap and a grand feel to the place I would definitely stay here again for the location and cleanliness with some excellent near by restaurants Be prepared to save some euros for checking out as you have to pay 6 euros per person a night city tax by Italian law

    « Hotel Mondial, Rome »

Very Careful with this Hotel because they overcharge you after the arrival / check-in and left with no option... you have to pay from the nose. Rooms also pretty ordinary and poor value for money what we spent. Breakfast is very simple and the quality is not good.

« Great Best Western Hotel »

Very nice rooms. Great beds and décor. Friendly and helpful staff. All speak English. Small fridge in the room ( very small) Would stay here again. Would recommend to stay here. Centrally located and easy to get to.

« Great hotel with convenient city location »

I stayed for three nights on a business trip. Check-in was smooth, you get free Wi-Fi for 3 devices to use in your room or anywhere in hotel. I had a quite small but nice room, mattress is great, everything works. Cleaning is top notch. I did not have breakfast included in my rate but you can pay 10 EUR and get the full buffet. One key advantage with this hotel is the location, you have subway station "La Republica" 3 min from hotel, you are really in the center of Rome so you can also walk to all the tourist spots. If you arrive from airport by train the hotel is 5-7 min walk from the train station.

The Best Western Mondial is situated in the heart of Rome. Like most buildings in Rome it is old, but comfortable. The main railway station Terminii is just around the corner as are metro stations. The Coloseum is about 1200 metres walk from the hotel. Start here then move on to the Roman Forum , the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain & before you know it you have completed a circle & are back at the hotel. Take the metro to the Vatican but get there early, it packs a crowd. Metro ticket is only 7 Euro & good for 24 hours.

« Great location, close to Termini and Republica stations »

Easy walk from Termini with luggage to the hotel. Close to the Republica subway station. Front desk staff pleasant. Bell hop, breakfast, and room service staffs very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is typical European hotel. Double bed was 2 beds push together. Gelato, convenience store, next door. Lunch bar also close for a quick lunch. Will stay again.

« Broken Aircon but helpful staff »

Unfortunately, the air conditioning was broken for both weeks that we were there. The rooms are basic; TV, wifi (which was temperamental) but no iron. The decor in the public spaces is garish but bareable. The staff, especially the doorman, were brilliant - great recommendations of local places and always smiling. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The beds are comfortable enough and te bathrooms were clean. The hotel is just outside the central area but on the same street as the Opera House. Rome is small enough to walk around but the subway was only a few hundred metres away if you need. There is no gym but the experience will be good IF they can fix the aircon! The rooms are accesible by wheelchairs via the lift but the breakfast room is up some steps.

« Best western mondial rome »

We stayed at best western mondial hotel Rome for 1 night, prior to our mediterrenean cruise and all i can say is that it is a very nice hotel close to Termine station and republica metro stop, friendly and helpful staff, clean room , and good food selection for breakfast. We got 2 adjacent rooms, one for me and my husband, and the other room for my friends. All of us were satisfied with our stay, and i will never hesitate to recommend this hotel to those who wants to stay in Rome before or after a cruise.

« Good location, fair hotel »

This hotel is in the Monti, close to the Termini Train Station. It was walking distance to the Colisseum and Forum. The hotel seems like it has seen better days, bath tub stained with some mold, toilet at a very strange angle to the tub. Some of the staff were nice and helpful, some pretty rude. Room wasn't ready when we checked in, we had to ask several times until suddenly it was. If we didn't have Best Western points we would not have stayed there, glad it was only one night.

    « Good location »

Good location and a reasonable price. Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready at check-in, and they were not very accommodating when we asked for a later checkout (even considering that they made us wait for our room on check-in).

    « Avoid this hellhole »

Rooms smell wet and moldy (tried different rooms in different part of the building). Visible and smellable mold/moisture damage on the wall other side of the bathroom. Breakfast inedible - tried once, decided to eat elsewhere after that. Looks horrible, tastes horrible, dairy products out in the warm for hours, vegetables floating in their liquid and looked like they were floating there for a week. Hotel has 4 stars and I have not seen such **** in one star hotels. Also would be nice for them to inform beforehand of the "city tax" you have to pay in cash and don't get a receipt for.

« Great Hotel in a perfect location »

This was an excellent hotel in a great location, near many of the main attractions and good shopping. The front desk staff were informative and helpful. Breakfast was good, but very crowded each morning. The rooms were spacious and clean. I'd recommend this hotel for anyone looking for quality on a budget!

    « A/C doesn t work »

No A/C in a four star rated hotel in october though temprature was between 22 and 24 degrees. Poor breakfast in a small room with no windows Location was good, near the metro station and many bus stops around. Receptionists were helpfull except one

    « Look elsewhere »

Officious Italian guys at reception were borderline impolite. Expensive for what the hotel provides (€106 for a very small room with uncomfortable bed). Shower head was the only positive, distribution of water over body sufficient.

« No air conditioning and no compensation! »

Hotel lied about broken a/c. Never got fixed in 4 day stay. Got the "only room left" facing all the rooftop a/c units of neighborhood. After complaining hotel knocked off a generous 15Euros off the 55Euro transportation to airport! They were renovating the rooms on our wing!

« Perfect location and staff »

Excellent staff, Diego and Hassen were the best, everything we needed they provided, would stay there again anytime, the hotel location is perfect, close to Metro, great restaurants and easy to get around to all historical sites. Would recommend to anyone for either business or pleasure.

    « Good Location »

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many of Rome's attractions. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms and hallways were very clean. Would have been nice to have an extra luggage stand since most travellers have 2 suitcases. AC was broken during our entire 4 day stay. Fortunately it wasn't really hot outside. Asked when it would be repaired we were told "tomorrow" (every day!). Our bill was slightly reduced because we asked. Internet: We were given a code that was good for 3 devices but only for 24 hours. We had 4 devices with us so we were constantly asking for new codes. We went through 15 codes in 4 days. Terribly inefficient. Breakfast: The staff in the breakfast room seem a little aggressive. I felt like I was being watched the whole time. Not relaxing. The only "fresh" fruit we saw were wrinkly apples. The bread was dry and could only be eaten if toasted. The coffee machine was great but we were shocked to see that the charge for a take-out coffee was 2.50 euro. We stayed in 8 hotels during our trip to Italy and this breakfast rates a 3 out of 5.

    « Attractive Location »

Attractive location. Good sized room and clean bathroom. The Hotel has an excellent location - walking distance to many attractions and Metro service. Front office and Dining room service is good. The spread of breakfast was average. The Hotel has a small lobby and is not bright at all.The bell services excellent.

    « Disappointing »

We spent two weeks touring Italy, staying primarily at Best Westerns, and this is the only hotel which did not meet our expectations. I found a problem with customer service at this hotel. We were here for four nights and the issue that bothered me the most was the rude service I received from Prashanti in the bar. I waited patiently while she ignored me, asked politely for ice when she finally acknowledged my presence; her manner was such that she had better things to do than to wait on me, so much so that I asked her if I had done something to upset her. She then said something about having to do up her cash. It wasn't even busy in the bar! A few other incidents have factored into my review. The last night of our stay I was just getting to sleep when I could hear water running. I jumped out of bed and to my surprise water was coming in through the ceiling and down the walls in our room by the door. I called the front desk and told them that it was "raining" in my room. Someone came up and advised that it was the air conditioner that was leaking and he put a bucket under the drip. So it was pretty hard to sleep with the drip, drip, drip of water in the bucket all night. The next morning I spoke to the front desk and asked if we could get a discount for the inconvenience but was told that was not possible. It was 35 degrees the days we were in Rome and the hotel had air conditioning, however, the hotel sets the air conditioning at a certain temperature and you can't make it any cooler, you can only control the speed of the fan. Our thermostat registered 22.8 degrees which was too hot for our liking but we were told that was what was set for the entire hotel and they wouldn't make it any cooler, This is supposed to be a four star hotel yet they only have plastic glasses in the rooms. I requested a wine glass as it's not the same drinking wine from a plastic glass but was told this was not possible - plastic is all that is provided. This should have been an easy request to fulfill. Oh and breakfast was by far the worst of anywhere else we had stayed. Canned fruit coctail, we couldn't drink the juices - the orange juice tasted like watered down tang. The hot option of scrambled eggs and wieners in water did not look very appetizing. The only rays of sunshine at breakfast were Fabriana and Angelico who were friendly and helpful. I like to give credit where it is due and these two girls were very nice. We waited two hours for towels to be brought up to the room one evening after the maid forgot to leave them. My husband went down to the front desk to get them but was told he couldn't pick them up, they would be sent up. The excuse later when they never showed up was that there had been a shift change. By the time we paid the city taxes on this hotel, it was close to 200 euros a night. I left feeling this hotel did not appreciate our business nor care whether or not we had a pleasant stay. I expected more in this case from the Best Western brand.

    « Great location! »

My son and I stayed here three nights while in Rome. We both felt the location was good, close to places to eat, shopping, Train and metro station. The doorman and the gentleman at the front desk in the evening were fantastic. They helped us with all our needs from trains, metro, suggested places to eat, my son went to play a card game he plays here in the states which was several stops on the metro. The guys at the door and desk were very helpful in giving him direction and the confidence to go. We would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. Oh the Geleto next to hotel is delicious and the young lady behind the counter was so sweet.

« Awesome staff, beautiful hotel. »

We stayed there pre cruise, so glad we chose it. Excellent location, best service experienced in Rome which I am finding rare. I would stay there again. Our post cruise hotel is a Best Western as well, although hotel is nice, staff are not even close to as good as Hotel Mondial. Thanx, hope to return.
