« Great, comfortable place to stay »

I enjoyed my stay with the exception of no a/c. The hotel controlled the air and it was only heat since it was November, this is what I was told by maintenance. Not good, I opened the window to get air.

    « Would stay again »

Wonderful stay. Fresh ingredients used in restaurant. Comfortable beds and pillows. Helpful, friendly staff. Great location. Would stay again. There to see soccer tournament at Williams College. Beautiful surroundings.

    « Best Western »

Great and affordable, good location, great staff. Easy check in and out. Good service all around. Lobby small, but worked for us. Would have liked to utilize space for a team dinner. Overall very clean and very polite w good service. Rooms nice and super comfy sleep. I would recommend.

    « Pet friendly »

We were recently passing through the Rockville area and needed a pet-friendly hotel for one night. We chose the best western for the location, the free breakfast, and the fact that they are pet-friendly. The room was very nice. Breakfast room was large with plenty of choices and the staff kept refreshing the food and cleaning up the area. Upon check in, the desk clerk was prepared to offer us a list of area restaurants. I don't think our two dogs were ever on an elevator before, but since we were on the 7th floor, they quickly figured it out.

« Great place to stay, good location and price »

Selected this hotel based on the reviews, and they were accurate. Good location - can get to the Metro via shuttle, and Town Center is accessible for evenings. Good price, looks pretty new; the bathroom looked a little tired although clean, Nice hot free breakfast. Friendly professional staff. Good sleeping accommodations, but the HVAC system was quirky.

« Great place to stay in Rockville »

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The room is big and clean and the employees in the hotel are friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and the breakfast was awesome. The area surrounding is beautiful. I recommend it to everyone.

« Good Price for the DC Area »

Location is great and they provide a shuttle to the subway a couple of miles away. The lobby looks and feels new but our room felt very tired. It was spacious and clean but for a Plus hotel, I feel they need to refurbish. The breakfast is excellent and the hotel personnel were courteous and helpful. Would stay again for the price.

    « Excellent Hotel »

My husband and I had an excellent stay at the Rockville Best Western Plus. The breakfast was excellent with many options, including gluten-free. The shuttle to and from the Metro that takes you into DC was terrific. It made the trip smooth as we did not have to navigate the city traffic ourselves. The room was clean and the shower water was hot with great pressure. Overall, we loved our stay!

« Nice place to stay »

While visiting family in Bethesda, MD we stayed here and really enjoyed our stay. It had easy access from the highway and it was very comfortable. The only downfall was that there was no transportation to Dulles airport besides taxi or Uber, which were a bit expensive.

« Great Hotel at a great price »

We had to travel to Walter Reed for doctors appointment and needed a hotel at a decent price not far from the base. The staff were really nice and helpful. The room was just as comfy and clean. We will definitely stay here again.

    « Excellent »

We have a meeting in the area -- The group booked a few rooms online in Best Western. It is a nice hotel to stay. Breakfast is convenient with choices. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean and pleasant. I recommend the hotel to other guests.

    « Business/Leisure »

This is my first visit/stay ever with this hotel, unfortunately bases on my experience I would not stay again: Hotel staff was great. Overall Cleanliness of room 1/5. There was mold/mildew in bathroom on shower wall and on baseboards. The shower curtain was cloth with no plastic liner, though it says no smoking the room reeked of cigarette/tobacco smell. Cosmetically the room needs a pick me up, old wall paper and peeling paint in room and bathroom. The breakfast was complimentary however everyone doesn't eat Pork products, there should be an option of Turkey or beef bacon or sausage. Hotel staff was pleasant. But won't be back unless changes are made

    « Excellent experience »

Friendly and attentive staff, nice breakfast options and dining area. Free and adequate parking. Public areas and room were very clean. I stayed in a king suite which was very spacious. Check in and check out was a breeze. Free shuttle to take you to nearby restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Great experience.

    « bed bug nightmares »

Absolute a nightmare! Because we were moving out of the new house before the new place was ready, I booked for 21 nights at the Best Western at Rockville for 21 nights. The hotel is old but in acceptable conditions (visually). It's 5-8 minutes away from the Rockville Town Center, but also right beside the highway. You can hear the passing traffic clearly. The most horrific part is bedbugs. From the first or second night, I noticed 3 bites in a line on my forearm. I told myself: we packed luggage for 21 nights, it's a ton of hassle to move to somewhere else. Maybe these are just mosquito bites. Things didn't go better as I hoped, every night I got some new bites, including my back, thigh, neck & shoulder, then even my chest. On the sixth or seventh day, I couldn't take it any more - fearing for another bite and the possibility of brining the bugs to our new house kept me awake during the night. We checked out after only staying for 7 nights. The front desk staff were kind and sympathetic. They tried to accommodate in any way possible, including switching us to another room. Unfortunately it didn't help because the bugs probably contaminated our luggage already. The hotel manager refused to refund us the first week of stay, and never called us to apologize or follow up with their status of "investigation". Please save yourself all the headache and nightmares and DO NOT STAY in this hotel!

« Nice property, but why was the pool already closed in Sept? »

Very nice hotel, convenient location, and they have a free shuttle to take you to the subway, but in early Sept, their pool was already closed for the season - why??? We could see the pool from our room ( & the water in it was already pea green - gross!), and it was over 90F outside! This part of the world is often still hot until mid-October. We had hoped for a swim to cool off... no luck. Breakfast was good.

« Looks Can Be Deceiving »

First off the front desk personnel was very helpful. My stay was pretty good up until the Sunday morning I realized my child was very quiet. I went over to check on her and she found a opened condom wrapper. Now honestly it was between the nightstand and the bed. I didn't check under the beds because I felt like this hotel was extremely clean. Hotwire rated it to be 3.5 stars!!! Boy was I wrong. A few hours later after checking out I noticed two red bumps appeared on my arm as if I had been bit the night before. I hope they are not bed bugs. I have tried to get a refund from the Hotel but they are unwilling to assist me because I booked my hotel through hotwire. I would not recommend any one go here. If housekeeping cleaned the room correctly they would have clearly found the condom wrapper. I do plan to speak to corporate. There is no telling if my child contracted anything from playing with the wrapper and hotel management could care less!

    « October 10, 2016 »

Our overall experience at this hotel was very positive. The room was good except for the carpet. They moved us to another room and it was less dirty and worn but both rooms need their carpet replaced. The breakfast buffet offered lots of choices of hot and cold items--very good. Callaways, a restaurant onsite, was closed for renovations so a negative was having to drive a few miles to get something to eat although they do offer shuttle service within a certain mile radius.

« weekend for soccer tournament »

It was a good hotel for our soccer tournament, closest to the tournament would be ideal but the drive was easy and without traffic.. The breakfast was great. The kitchen even opened up earlier on Sat. just to accommodate our very early game! We had quick service, free parking and great rooms. Our room was very cold but the hotel responded quickly to change the temp/settings. I wish the wall control functioned so I could adjust the temperature myself.

    « Lots Of Problems »

Stayed here one night, business. Web says restaurant. None. Wasn't told on phone that it had closed / weeks prior. Breakfast was not what was promised. Not even in correct room. Check in staff was so-so. Lady was great, young man was snip with customers. ?? No reason. Room was perfect. Except NO heat. Maybe wasn't turned on yet??? Stay again?? Kind of far from DC. 270 is practically across the street, but then you have the DC traffic. I'd pay extra & stay closer if planning on DC visit. Not a visit? It'll work.

    « Hotel in Suburbs »

This Best Western Plus was excellent for our visit because it was convenient, clean and easy to access once we figured out the exit roads on I270. The beds are comfortable and clean. The staff was helpful and professional, The coffee choices were very good and tasty, almost like the B/W hotels in Europe. The sign on the edge of the road was partially covered by a tree or bush and I almost missed the entrance--please fix.

    « Very Nice »

I reviewed this hotel on YELP as I really enjoyed myself. It was spacious and clean and I loved it. The breakfast was great, diverse options, clean and tasty. The staff was friendly and courteous. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

« HOTEL TO STAY IN ROCKVILLE »

On the first trip to Rockville, this hotel was very good. Besides having great room and well organized with everything a guest needs, yet the hotel provides you an important silence for your stay. The only thing that needs to improve is the variety of breakfast and i think when there will be own cars which make passenger transport, the hotel will be certainly the best of Rockville to its privileged location.

« Super Stay at Best Western Rockville, MD »

Escape romantic weekend from NJ, and visiting family in MD. Superb, courteous and professional staff from the front desk to the housekeeping and engineering services. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, easily accessible and temperature adjustable to taste. The beds are super comfortable. We slept like babies. The entire facility is very clean and pleasant. The free breakfast is amazing. The choices are better than a la carte, and you can make your own waffles. Fresh fruit, coffee and beverages. The breakfast is worth the stay by itself LOLs. Top stars for this hotel. Thank you! We'll be back!

« Good place to stay in suburban Maryland »

Pleasant hotel in convenient location. Best price of equivalent hotels in the area. I stayed just one night after moving out of my home and waiting to settle on the sale of my house the next morning before moving out of state. It was a pleasant, restful, comfortable place to stay, and it was nice to have a full breakfast available.

« Super Stay at BW Plus »

Great place to stay - great food, great coffee and great service. We were surprised at how well this place was organized and showed a caring attitude for its guests. I was impressed with the staff and the facilities. Being pet friendly was another plus!!

    5
« Good Location, breakfast and sleep »

Easy on/off the interstate I270. The breakfast buffet has a good variety. The bed and mattress were excellent. Got very good nights sleep the four nights we stayed there. The only thing that bothered me was that the breakfast area seem a little shabby. It needed to be spruced up.

    2
    « Not impressed »

I spent 3 nights at this hotel last week while attending a conference in Rockville. I am not usually a fan of the Best Western chain, but after reading other favorable reviews of this hotel, I decided to give it a try. I am not sure if I got a really bad room or if the people who stay at this hotel have low expectations, but had my employer not pre paid, I would have checked out and gone elsewhere after seeing my room. My main complaints: the room was dark and dingy, the ceiling was dropped down, making it feel quite claustrophobic; the overhead lights were just light bulbs in sockets with no cover; the carpet was ringed with dirt all the way around the room, and had multiple huge dirty spots on the floor (thank goodness I had flip flops- would not have touched that carpet in bare feet); the electrical outlet in the bathroom was coming out of the wall; there was someone else's hair all over the wall and door of the bathroom throughout my stay even though the housekeeper "cleaned" each day; the TV only worked one of the three nights, and there was such a huge gap when the door was closed and locked, that I could see into the hallway. Thankfully, there was a half wall between the door and the bed, so I didn't feel like anyone could peer at me in the bed. The bed was the ONLY redeeming thing about the room, and the reason this is not a 1 star review, as it was clean, well made and comfortable. Thankfully, I had a car, but as other reviews have stated, there is nothing within walking distance, so without a car you are at the mercy of the hotel shuttle. Also, it appears the hotel's main source of revenue is accommodating tour groups, making breakfast a bit of a madhouse. The first morning, I ate yogurt with a fork, as there were no spoons to be had and the second day, I had to hunt down hot water for oatmeal. The third day I saved myself the hassle and went somewhere else for breakfast. I will not be a return customer.

Everything was outstanding including the very reasonable price. Helpful staff, good parking, convenient location. Loved having the shuttle service to the shopping center. Fun making my own waffles in the morning.

    « Best western rockville »

Overall stay was comfortable, however bathrooms were pathetic with horrible lighting and bathtub and sinks were clogged. But they fixed it when we complained. Free breakfast was very good. May stay here again. We got what we paid for.

    « Good value »

I loved my room! It had a fridge and microwave, so I could cut down the expense of meals during my trip. The King bed was beyond luxurious. A great stay. The only downside was the room was not soundproof, and I woke up when my next door neighbour had a very long coughing fit during the night. I hope he was okay!

    « Good & Bad, No Ugly »

Reasonably priced. Breakfast buffet with hot food. Courteous staff, free wifi parking spacious rooms etc Bad: old old facilities, bath tub didn't drain properly, room next to elevator constantly being used, exercise room smelled old and moldy couldn't stay in there for more than 5 mins. Liked the coin operated lAundry option. Hotel not near much interms of entertainment but it's 2 mins from I270. Room for improvement but u get what u pay for??

    « HIGHLY RECOMMENDED »

We were very pleased with this Best Western. I would have given it five stars if my tablet wasn't giving me a hard time entering it. It was a great bargain through Trip Advisor. I will definitely use them again to book a hotel. This Best Western is clean and quiet, set off from the main road. Rooms were a nice size.. A very nice complimentary breakfast is served. Staff is friendly and there is a complimentary van to the metro which runs once an hour.I was disappointed that the outdoor pool was not open since weather was still warm enough. I would not recommend this hotel for Washington sight seeing. It was really too far.

    5
« NUMBER OF BEST WESTERN HOTELS »

In the past two years, my wife and I have driven around many states and were not able to find as many Best Western hotels as other hotels and were very disappointed because, in its category, Best Western is the best.

    4
    « Competent, no surprises »

Sufficient in most every way to me. Will visit again. I travelled alone. Arrived for late check in. Slept reasonably well. The hotel is reasonably quiet, clean, comfortable. It is reasonably priced. I did not need much.

« Family Weekend - this was and easy access to my son's new residence. Family members got togther to help him move. »

Enjoyed our stay here very much. Would stay at this hotel again. The breakfast got us off to a good start for the day. Hotel staff very nice. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the pool area, lounge chairs and tables. The kids really enjoyed the pool.

    « Parent visits »

We stay at this hotel every time we visit our daughter in Rockville. Like the location to her place, and the location to 270. We will probable stay there many more times in the future. Our only complaint would be the beds. Would like to see queen size beds in each room.

    5
« Great hotel in DC »

This was my second stay here. The staff are very nice and accommodating - especially Tashay & Ebra. They have the best breakfast too! We will be coming to visit frequently and I will definitely be staying here again.

    4
    « consistent quality »

Near I 270 with free parking. no freeway noise heard. Except for being awakened by a fire alarm at 3 am, the accommodations were nice. good breakfast with ample seating. not too much else around the area.

    4
« Celebrating with the relatives »

Stayed in town for a weekend while co-hosting a party for my parents. Not only did we stay at this hotel, but so did many friends and relatives attending the party. This is a large hotel, with easy access to I270, and has plenty of amenities including wi-fi, a business center, free breakfast, ample parking and a pool. There were plenty of good choices for breakfast and the area was well staffed. The rooms were clean and spacious and included refrigerators and microwaves. All of the staff I interfaced with were very friendly and helpful. The only two downsides to this hotel were that the ventilation in the bathroom was weak, leaving some metal to rust; and, though common, I do not find the double-sized beds comfortable. As both my husband and I are above average in height, a queen (with better quality sheets) would be preferred.

    5
    « Allow a lot of Time for Check-In »

Allow a lot of time for check in. They prefer to answer phones and make guests stand in front of them while doing so. The hotel otherwise is clean and rooms are bigger then most. The breakfast is phenomenal!!! BEWARE OF HOW LONG IT TAKES TO CHECK IN! I waited 20 minutes with children in the car and the front desk girl did not care.

  • 4
    « Hotel evaluation »

In total good experience with staying. So far I did not receive my security deposit. If every thing goes smoothly with that part I can say for sure about my good experience. I would like to recommend it.

    5
    « Enjoyable stay »

The staff were very accommodating and promptly took care of any needs. We had a suite with a king bed. Kids slept on the sleeper sofa. We did not use the pool or other amenities due to our 1 night stay, but I thought seriously about staying another night. Fairly close to the Rockville metro station. Shuttle will pick you up, but we did not use this service.

    3
    « Great Place, A few Issues »

The hotel in general is pretty clean. For the price the amenities were great. Breakfast was wonderful and the pool and gym were clean and well taken care of. Our room key would work. we had the front desk issue us new ones and we would still have to try it about 15-20 times to get the door to open, but it worked fine to access the gym. we stayed as a family in a King suite with two rooms. one with the bed and one with a fold out couch. the bedroom was nice, but the couch wasn't. when we finally got it folded out, there were no pillows or blankets for it in the room. it was also warped into a bowl shape and you could really feel the edge of the couch going right across the middle of your back. The other issue we ran into was finding food. across the street is a gas station/service shop that closes pretty early (before 10PM). we had a late night in DC and didn't make it back to the hotel until about 9:30. we were hungry and used our GPS to find a close drive thru. it said McDonalds was 1Mile away. The area it took us to was residential. we tried 3 different restaurants on the GPS and none were actually there. when we gave up and went back to the hotel they gave us a Pizza Menu for a restaurant that was already closed. So no dinner for us!

    5
    « WHOA!! »

I usually don't stay on hotels on my way to washington DC but I decided to try somethiing different and I'm so happy I tried them. The staff was amazing so was the food. The bartender made some great drinks and made some great joke. The Staff is so friendly. I am def staying there again soon !

    4
    « convenient »

this hotel was clean, and convenient to where we were visiting. the only problem was the air-conditioning. you couldn't control it yourself and on the 7th floor, we were warm to the point of uncomfotable. also, there was a very noisy wedding party until midnight, which you can't really blame the hotel for. the complimentary breakfast buffet was plentiful and fresh. we would stay there again when visiting our daughter and hopefully air conditioning or noise would not be a problem.

    4
    « Good value »

Room is very adequate. Location worked well for us; we met friends in Rockville and silver spring Also easy access to the metro and to I270 Breakfast was also very adequate Staff very friendly and helpful

    4
    « trip to DC »

The hotel was pretty clean and the staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good. So for the price it was a good stay. Only problem was the pull out bed wasn't very comfortable but than they never are and the air conditional in one of the rooms didn't work very well.

    5
    « Super Customer Service »

The front desk staff at this hotel goes out of its way to make you feel welcome! The room was roomy and super clean. The breakfast is above and beyond what I expected, bacon, sausage, eggs, waffles, cereal, fruit, Danishes, excellent coffee, and juices to choose from. I highly recommend this place. By far the best hotel I've stayed in in the DC area.

    3
    « Youth tournament stay »

Hotel is in decent location - close to major parkways. Downtown Rockville (very nice downtown area) is only 1.5 miles away and they offer free shuttle service to and from Rockville. We used the shuttle service one night for dinner and it worked great. Front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating. Complimentary breakfast was above average and staff kept area neat, clean and items fresh... Only complaints - room (we had 2 queens bed room) is a tad on smaller side, no closet (they have a wardrobe in room) bathroom was very small and no vent fan. Air Conditioning was excellent in my room - but heard of numerous complaints that some rooms had little to no A/C and repair staff was not available on weekends. Beds were firm and only 2 pillows per bed.

    3
« Clean and good value »

We got a great price on a king room with a pullout sofa by using hotels.com (129 plus tax). This was much less than the front desk quoted! The pullout wasn't comfy - but the room was otherwise just fine (we have little kids so they piled in the King with us and it was very roomy compared to the tent we've been sharing the last couple of days!) Breakfast was ample (waffles/eggs/bacon/toast etc. A word of warning - the laundry machine is very expensive $2.25 - per load - and the dryer is the same. I pulled my clothes 12 minutes before the cycle was done and they were almost too hot to touch on the medium heat cycle!

    « Vacation »

The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was not up to standard. It was very sloppy and very little help. We could not take advantage of the pool because of the crazy hours it was open. There was also a bee's nest inside an umbrella, which I believe they tried to remove, but later there were still bees.

    5
« Perfect Hotel in Rockville, Maryland »

We were driving north to NYC and booked a one night stay at this Best Western. What a pleasant surprise! This Best Western is really a "Plus" in every way. The hotel location for traveling is wonderful. The welcoming staff are pleasant, the rooms are quite nice and clean with all the usual amenities, and hot breakfast buffet was also a plus. You can't go wrong with this hotel.

    2
    « poor »

bed not comfortable, bathroom was dirty and additional charges when checking in. breakfast was good. housekeeping made a lot of noise in the hallway. hotel looks nice from outside, not too far from metro if you miss the shuttle a taxi might run you about ten dollars to get to the metro. checked out earlier not satisfied

    5
« Great place for Washington DC visit »

Every time I come to visit My daughter I stay at this hotel the morning breakfast is very good clean rooms beds are comfortable and always a nice stay. Free parking bathrooms are nice I'm so close to DC they have a free shuttle that runs every hour to the metro station, and the staff is very friendly and hospitable

    5
    « Great Experience! »

Overall, great experience. Staff and amenities were great.! Plenty of parking. Very good breakfast and staff. Entrance was very welcoming and staff were very helpful. Swimming pool was great, as well as the gym. Like the title says, Great Experience!

    4
    « Good »

Good hotel to family for an affordable price. The breakfast is included, but I have not found hot milk and nor microwave available at the breakfaast room. Moreover, the double bed is too small for two persons and the furniture is old.

    2
« Needs to be updated »

Needs to be updated. Tries to charge for the room safe. They will take it off the bill on checkout. No listing for TV stations. Remote had to be adjusted by hotel staff to get HBO. Breakfast quality was poor. Breakfast staff was overloaded and could not keep up with demand. This is not a BW plus hotel any longer.

    4
    « Breakfast »

The breaksfast was good and had many options compared to other hotels I have stayed in. I wish they would have had more options for vegan or vegetarians and more variety of fruits. The options were the same everyday.

    4
    « Nice hotel »

The hotel was nice, staff friendly, rooms clean. My only complaints were small. 1. Breakfast room is quite large but everything to put on your plate is in one corner. Traffic jam and it doesn't have to be that way. 2. Shuttle to metro only goes on the hour. Works if you are going to metro but don't come back between quarter after to quarter of as the shuttle won't come get you. 3. No restaurants within walking distance. If you have a car, this hotel is a good choice. Room rates weren't bad.

    3
« Okay, but mold problem in the bathroom »

The bathroom had a heavily textured ceiling, which had black mold spots growing on it. When I used the microwave, it would cause the other socket in the plug to cease functioning, shutting off the light/plug combination on the desk. Every time the refrigerator cycled on/off, the tv would cut off. For the price and location, I would say fair or average. Will probably look elsewhere on my next business trip.

  • 3
    « Below My Expectations »

We chose to stay at this hotel because of its location and access to Washington, D.C. Overall, this hotel needs to be updated. Our room was too dark at entry and we needed to turn on the light in the bathroom to see the items in the coat closet! The temperature in the room was pre-programmed and was impossible to reset. The furniture in the room was old and dirty. There were two full size beds in the room that were difficult to get used to after years of sleeping on queen or king size beds! The breakfast quality needs improvement. The utensils were poorly washed, and the dining room needs to be cleaned more often. The food items were average and unchanging from day to day. The overall appearance of the hotel needs updating, and items used by guests such as carts for moving suitcases must work! Compared to other Best Western Plus hotels that we have previously used (both in the U.S. and in Europe) this hotel is below par.

    5
    « Fantastic Stay »

It was a pleasure staying here and we will stay here any time we return to the Rockville area. The hotel is beautifully maintained, quiet at night, and easy to access. The fitness facility was always clean and the equipment is in excellent condition. We loved the fact that it was right off the 270 exit and close to both downtown Rockville and Potomac.

« Way past its prime »

Dirty, old, AC in poor working condition, noisy, substandard beds and linens (broken down, hair on sheets, overstuffed pillows). Bathroom small and dingy. I had never stayed in a poor Best Western, but now I have. Time for a serious rehab of this property. You get what you pay for, unfortunately.

« Great for family vaction »

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The complimentary breakfast is filling and delicious. The shuttle bus to the Metro is a God send. It takes the worry and cost of parking out of the picture for a fun vacation with family.

    « Great hotel. »

Clean, comfortable, accommodating, and a decent value...what more do you need in a place to stay? Good location, convenient to access and easy to get to your local destinations. The breakfast is available until 11 am, allowing you to sleep in if you so choose. Featuring hot items like waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage, and bacon, along with many other items. The service staff at breakfast are friendly and helpful, as are all whom we came in contact with at this hotel. The only complaint centers around the bathroom. It is small...the door is awkwardly placed and the toilet is so low that I doubt tall people or seniors would be able to comfortably use it without difficulty. Otherwise, this hotel is a place I would stay in again when visiting the area.

« Great Hotel Near DC »

This is a nice facility with a reasonable price near DC metro. It's about 1 hour drive from downtown DC during the rush hour and half an hour during non-peak hours. The rooms are clean and have comfortable beds. Free parking and free breakfast buffet are among great features that this hotel has to offer. The staff were very professional and helpful. Our only issue was that our rooms weren't ready at the time of check-in. We had to wait for 1 hour for them to get ready. I recommend this hotel.

« comfortable and very friendly staff »

We had the King Suite room because we have 2 teenagers. The room was comfortable and clean and gave us enough room to spread out. The staff was very friendly and helpful and always said hello to us. The breakfast bar was good. They had a lot of food but I thought the eggs and bacon weren't cooked all the way. The best part was the shuttle they offered to the metro. We got free parking unlike a lot of other hotels. I would defininetly stay again.

« Worst experience with hotel staff »

I was walking through the lobby, and a young woman who was on her cell phone, was complaining to a friend that the only way she could shut the door to her hotel room was by having someone on the inside shut it, and she stopped to ask the front desk person for the name of the manager. The gentleman told her that she could change if she wanted to, and she said oh I can change rooms? And he said no hotels you can get out of here. I was surprised by his reaction. So I asked the young woman what it happened before. She said that her first room was right next to the air-conditioning units, and she couldn't get her three-year-old daughter to sleep. She have to switch rooms, and they gave her anon-smoking room with burn marks in the carpet in the sheets. She asked to switch again, and she got a room with a washcloth over the smoke detector, windows that won't lock, and adore them only shut from the inside. I explained I was married to an attorney, who would be happy to take her case. She brought me to a room to show me. She was not exaggerating. She said she believed she was getting this treatment, because she had booked through Hotwire. I went down and asked the gentleman at the front desk to please switch her room. He invited me to leave as well

    « Very accommodating staff »

Having moved out of town two weeks earlier, we had to come back to town for an unexpected funeral. The staff at the hotel was wonderful, allowing us an extra early check in so that we could prepare for the viewing. The room was clean, and well appointed. The location is very centrally located off of 270, close drive to Metro and all the restaurants of Rockville Town Center. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Comfortable but plain »

This is not a fancy place, but certainly adequate for our purpose -- an overnight stay. We were a little disappointed that we did not know ahead of time that the pool was closed as we had hoped for our grandkids to swim. The breakfast was excellent. Main issue was that we could not connect to Internet, but we were not there long enough to care that much.

    « Memorial Day Weekend 2016 »

Was on the 7th floor, very clean. Good breakfast. Polite front desk. Small but convenient work out area. Pool is ok. I had an issue with the TV and an engineer was sent to check on it but nothing was solved, he promised to change it the next day. I appreciated the effort.

    « Best Western Rockville »

Hotel was priced very reasonably for the area. Only problem was the poor AC system which resulted in limited sleep. Location and breakfast were good. This appears to be an old hotel with heat/AC coming out of the unit in the ceiling. Room would not cool even after serviceman came. Had we not unpacked, I would have requested a move to another room.

    « Lizzie's DC Trip »

We had a minor glitch at check-in and originally were assigned the wrong type of room. We went back to the lobby and got the room changed very promptly to the Executive King with a sleeper sofa. The location of the hotel was very convenient for our purposes. There is plenty of parking space available. The staff were very friendly.

« Great value and incredibly well trained staff »

Spent three nights here as part of a group. The hotel is away from the hustle and hubbub of the city -- sits on a few acres, the main business part of Rockville is at least ten minutes away. Great parking, but it is definitely a place you need a car or access to cabs. This is a large, well maintained facility with superb management. The facility managers checked in with our group several times and met a couple of special requests with ease. The management has trained the front desk staff and help well, they are all working at a level most larger hotels would dream of...I have traveled a great deal and know that competent staff are never an accident. The restaurant manager (Freddie) was especially helpful to getting our large group served as quickly as possible. The night before, I had flown in late without dinner, and the restaurant was closing in ten minutes. I was reluctant to order anything much that close to closing, but Freddie said "no problem, we will take your order" and the wings and onion rings I ordered and took to my room were nicely prepared. The restaurant has a limited menu of mainly snacks such as small pizza, calzone, and wings. I would definitely return here. The only reason it is not a ten was that my air conditioner was broken, although that was the only part of my room that was less than completely satisfactory, and it was not yet hot enough outside to matter -- the room had a window that could open and ventilated the room enough. When I reported it, the management jumped right on it.

« Fine for a One Night Stay »

If you're passing through then it's fine for a one night stay. Bedroom was comfortable and the staff were very accommodating. Shuttle bus into the centre was a great facility to have as we weren't driving. Breakfast was terrible, they do not have a restaurant or bar really as one room doubles up to do both. Floors sticky every morning, dirty tables, sticky buffet table and really not a pleasant experience. We returned back one evening at 10:00pm and were told the bar was closed, as far as I recall this is normal so no chance of a nightcap !!

    « Staff was great!! »

This is an older hotel, so it needs some help. Check in was fast and easy. The room has seen better days. There was some mold in the bathroom and the wall paper was starting to peel off. No fan in the ceiling, so after a hot shower it took a while to dry up. Beds were comfortable but the pillows weren't. Glad I brought my own hair dryer as the one in the room is the original one, and when I turned it on, pieces from the chipped plastic inside were blown out! The breakfast was excellent. The shuttle was extremely helpful in getting us to and from the Metro. As a tourist, I'd never attempt driving there! The staff helped in anyway they could. Extremely polite!

« Not for The Business Traveler »

Stayed two nights on a business trip. Hotel is OK for families traveling on a vacation however, I would not recommend for business travelers who expect typical business accommodations. Mattress was not good quality compared to more upscale hotels. Room was on the dingy side (literally) as there was inadequate lighting levels in the room especially where the clothes closet was. Each of the two nights I was there large tour groups arriving in several buses checked in. The second night was very disruptive in the hallways with young guest banging doors, talking loudly in the hallways, etc. This occurred after 10 pm when I would expect some degree of quiet so guests could get to sleep. They must of been on a school trip or something. There was free breakfast but it was so so and very crowded.

    3
« Reasonable for the price »

Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Which was a good thing as the first room we were assigned wasn't ready and the second room had a faulty door lock making it frustrating to get into our room. Conveniently located for our needs though and it was worth the one night stay.

    5
« Great place to stay »

We spent 5 nights at this motel. Visiting the Wash DC area. The staff was wonderful, everyone was pleasant. The shuttle drivers were great. Even the lady in the gift shop went out of her way to get something we wanted. Our room was just right. Breakfast was always the same each morning and we enjoyed it. great place.

    « Surprising satisfied »

Last minute need of a place to spend a night. Checked internet. Chose this place for the good price and location. Did not have high expectation. When arrived, it looked like a high end place. Service was excellent. The room was with excellent quality. Had been in other Best Western hotels before. They were very plain. Could it be the difference between Best Western and Best Western Plus ? I do not know. Never been in the Plus category before though.

« Good but needs some TLC »

The rooms were clean and spacious but could use some TLC. The front desk area definitely needed some updating. The staff was not unfriendly but did not smile and seemed to be just be doing the job. The breakfast was good, many things to choose from and enough space for people to sit down and eat.

    « Pleasant, Relaxing Stay »

As always, a pleasant, relaxing stay... very Courteous staff - (TASHAY, at the Front desk at 5 AM with her pleasant SMILE! / SALL at the breakfast bar, ALWAYS pleasant and smiling!!!!) We are planning to return... Rooms are very quiet and clean...

« Convenient with a couple of hiccups »

We had a two night weekend stay here during Spring Break. The location is literally right on the highway so it is very convenient. Lots of parking. When we checked in it had been very hot out for that time of year and they told us we may experience temperatures in the room that were too hot or too cold and to contact them before 10 pm and an engineer would come and adjust it. I really appreciated that as we did need the engineer. The room was two doubles as shown in pictures others have posted. The beds are comfy. The TV remote was missing and we never did get one. The wifi worked though so we used Netflix instead. The room was clean and well maintained. We booked here specifically for the included breakfast at no extra charge. They offer juices, tea, coffee, cold and hot cereal, yoghurt, rolls, muffins, toast/bread, waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon. Good selection. The breakfast was well done on Saturday but Sunday was awful. They were out of butter and jam so everyone kept making toast and waffles and then dumping them. Who wants dry toast? I spoke to the kitchen crew person and he just shrugged. I don't think he spoke English. I went to the front desk and asked them to put up a sign to warn people they were out of butter but that was not done in the 1/2 hour I was in the breakfast area. There were delays in getting the hot foods, cutlery and plates as well so the seating area was jammed with people waiting. Probably they were just short staffed but with Spring Break school trips booked into the hotel they should have anticipated the heavy demand. Also on Saturday our room keys were deactivated and we had to get them reset as we were staying until Sunday. I would stay here again though. Overall it was a good place.

I got on my phone and started looking for the closest hotel I found Best Western in Rockville.. That was the best thing that could've happened. I called and spoke to Rocky I think I spelled it right. We got the king bed suite because it was my 3 kids and my husband and me. The staff members were so nice. The room was very clean nice space. The bed was amazing it was so comfortable. The breakfast was great!!!! I highly recommend this hotel! BEST WESTERN PLUS in Rockville MD. I will return thanks Rocky again!!!!

Well located near Washington DC. Easy to park a car.People working here are very nice. If you travel for tourism, it's a very good place, DC is a beautiful place and there are a lot of thing to do see in Maryland and Virginia. After a long day, it's pleasant to come at this hotel.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

Pleasantly surprised by the accommodations of this hotel. Sleeping room was VERY large. Decor was modern and appealing to the eyes. Room was very clean. Lobby restaurant has a limited menu, but affordable prices. Restaurant staff were very friendly. Front desk staff were also polite

    3
« Not So Friendly Staff »

If you happened to need anything after the housekeeping staff leave for the day you are out of luck. The front desk staff refuse to bring it to your room as they say that they are not allowed to leave the desk to bring it to you. You have to go to the desk to get it, even thought there are two staff members on. Also if you have a noise complaint about yappy dogs they do nothing as well. Just want to say Hi to Bailey the yappy dog next door to me

    « Anniversary vacation »

My wife and I stayed here and it was wonderful. Staff is very accommodating and room was clean. Shuttle gets you to the Metro Station and will pick you up before 9p. Breakfast was OK not the best but far from the worst. Plenty of restaurants near by if you don't want to use the in hotel cafe. If ever on the Rockville area again I'll definitely look to stay here again.

    « Business or Pleasure »

This property is a class act. We had great service on our Washington, DC vacation. The hotel has a free shuttle to the metro station for convenient connections throughout the metropolitan area. We parked our car and avoided the traffic for a few days. This is a business traveler's hotel that worked wonderfully for a couple of tourists.

    4
    « Nice, convenient hotel »

Clean, well-maintained hotel with friendly staff. Not located in a scenic or walkable area or near stores, but very convenient to Washington DC area towns and major highways. Rooms are large. Stayed in an enormous 2-room executive suite. Rates are very fair and reasonable compared to other nearby suite hotels. Water pressure is great, WiFi is fast. Free printing in lobby. Only criticism is extremely thin and uncomfortable mattress on fold out couch in living room of suite. They should really invest in nicer sofa beds. Main bed and pillows were, by contrast, very comfortable.

« Good hotel and you get your moneys worth »

I was pleased with the convience of this hotel. They have a business center which allows you to print boarding passes etc. The shuttle service stops running at 9 pm which made it difficult for my stay because I was in the city until past 10pm. The breakfast was average. They served the same things daily. The value of the room was good. The service by the night employees was excellent. The day employees seemed very disinterested. The gift store in the lobby is priced very reasonable should you forget any necessary item, Even sweatshirts or other memorabilia you want to purchase is reasonably priced.

    3
« Pet friendly, conveniently located »

Overall we are satisfied. Positive: We traveled with a dog, and choose this hotel because it is pet friendly and conveniently located not far from Washington DC. We did not have any problems with our dog staying with us. The breakfast is good. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Negative: The bedding - pillows, comforters and sheets are old.

    4
    « Nice hotel »

Stayed at this hotel for business. Always appreciate free internet and free breakfast. Ask for a room that's not near the elevators. I didn't and was faced with children running back and forth to the ice machine until I put a stop to it.

« Budget friendly is all I can say about this place. »

I booked this hotel based on other reviews. I wanted to be away from the city to keep the price and traffic down. The hotel is older. The room wasn't dirty, just dated. The fan in the bathroom didn't work, so the ceiling had condensation water droplets dripping from it. We discovered that the air conditioning doesn't work very well either. The last night, I turned it down as low as it would go and it was still too warm to be comfortable. The breakfast was awesome though. There were a lot of options for us. The restaurant has a very limited menu, but was good. We didn't use the shuttle, but it was always there and other guests seemed to like the service. We had a great time in DC, and the hotel served its purpose. But had we need to spend more time other than just sleeping, I'm not sure we would have been happy. Probably will look elsewhere the next time.

    5
« Good value for the area »

Great breakfast, comfortable bed. The evening restaurant wasn't much of a restaurant - pizza and bar food fare.Slow service, too. Good value for the DC area. Shuttle available to the Rockville Metro stop every hour on the hour, but we didn't use it - we wanted to be out at 7:30 so we chose to drive.

    3
    « Not a top choice »

This hotel is in a business park area with little within walking distance. Heat in the room was out and a colleague reported it was not working in his room. There was no extra blanket in the armoire either. I used towels from the bathroom to stay warm. I informed the desk about the heat, but it wasn't fixed by that night. Breakfast buffet was ok. Restaurant menu at night is limited.

    2
« Heat didn't work, and staff unaccommodating »

The hotel is very affordable for the area, and while it is a little run down in places, overall it is clean and well kept. I would give this an excellent rating, except that the heat in my room didn't work. It was a little cool when I checked in (so I turned up the thermostat a little), but downright cold when I woke in the morning and we getting ready. Upon checkout the desk staff was dismissive and unaccommodating. He said he couldn't do anything to help, and if I complained the night before they could have fixed it.

    « Vacation »

Great clean hotel!! Everyone at the desk was very helpful. Wonderful shuttle service to and from the Metro. Warm, delicious breakfast buffet in the morning. Loved our stay, would come back again. Not a lot of eating places around the hotel, but we ate before we left downtown.

    « Rockville best western »

The Best Western PLUS in Rockville, Maryland is a great place to stay. The rooms are not upscale, but very comfortable with all of the necessities. The shuttle service is awesome - roomy and comfortable ride to the DC area metro station, and to many shopping areas. Breakfast is a nice spread of eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruits, potatoes, waffles, yogurts and breads - along with the usual juices, milk, and coffees. It's a great start to the day - especially if you are touring DC. We can't say anything negative about our stay!

    3
    « Best Western Experience »

hotel is clean; shuttle transfer very reasonable and somewhat accommodating; restaurant food is okay but recommend a change of menu from one day to the next and not the same daily; entertainment (tv) is okay but still needs upgrading. Overall, I would recommend to others.

« My boyfriend and I were fairly comfortable here »

My boyfriend came into town to visit. This was my first time at a Best Western and I was fairly impressed. We liked the setup of both of our rooms. We loved that they are one of the few hotels that still serve breakfast. The breakfast is eggs, bacon sausage, toast, waffles etc. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that we couldn't change our room temperature when we wanted to the temperature was either too warm even with the heat off or too cold even with the A.C. off. We went and bought a small heater to heat up the room. I wish there had been a better solution to the problem. I understand the building is old but still . You can also hear people walking through the hallways through the door. But overall we were pretty happy. We would definitely come back.

    3
    « Close to metrorail »

Provide shuttle service to metro rail station every hour. Should increase the frequency and do it every 30-40 mins since the station is close to the hotel. No room service during night time, got to go to front desk if you want to get something eg. towel.

    5
« A great place for an affordable price »

I use this hotel often because of its LOCATION and reasonable rates. The rooms are comfortably furnished (I have had only the 7th floor experience), the amenities include all we need for our stay (which is medically driven). Parks to walk are near-by, which provides a nice change of scenery from the bustling highways of the DC area. We haven't used the Shuttle service, but it is available, too.

« Great Staff and a convenient hotel »

I recently stayed at this hotel while on business in the Rockville area. I grew up in this area and hadn't noticed how much it has changed. The hotel was a great location and the staff was great. They provided a great room (a suite actually) with comfortable furniture, two good TVs and even a refrigerator that I needed. Everyone was friendly and helped me figure out where things were in the neighborhood. The General Manager even watched over the great breakfast to make sure everything was done right. They had a great Business Center that was free to use and coffee in the lobby in the evening and morning. GREAT !

    5
« Comfortable room, with breakfast included »

My two night stay was enjoyable, the view from the room was spectacular, esp when it snowed and the trees were covered the following morning. Staff was professional. Restaurant staff were exceptional. Room was clean and beds very comfortable

« The worst hotel ever. Very dirty! »

When we walked in the front door it smelled like gas. We got to our room and showered etc. when I went to turn the bed down there was a tissue in the linens! Then I found two different types of hair! The bed also seemed slightly discolored in the middle of the bed. I'm posting pictures of everything I found here. After having driven 15 hours we needed to sleep. I went to the front desk and demanded to be moved to a clean room and had the front desk person go with us to verify. We were upgraded to an executive suite. When we got to that room it clearly smelled liked marijuana! Bed was cleaner. That room had some stains on the carpet that looked like blood! The carpet in front of the sofa was very stained as well. The staff said they have complained to the manager many times about these issues and the manager does not want to do anything about it. They also said that the front desk manager and general manager do not work on weekends! This place is full of truck drivers and that's fine but the place is terrible. It needs a large investment of working capital through an investor and complete remodel as well as new management. Don't let the other reviews on this page deceive you! I know it's inexpensive but it's worth spending a little more money and not dealing with the filth and lack of interest.

« Near the Red line into DC »

This was a nice clean hotel, near the metro(free shuttle to the metro), nice helpful staff, great included breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable. It is very close to the metro. We were able to hop on the red line into DC. I will stay here whenever I visit DC. I also cannot wait to visit again to explore Rockville, MD itself. Seemed like such a nice city with plenty to do. I highly recommend and will stay here again.

    5
    « Worry Free Stay »

I was there when the roads were iced over on Monday and there was no travel to be done. I was able to remote into my office and work. No down town and therefore I was still able to complete my assignments on time.

    « Family Vacation »

We are a family of 7 with all 5 kids less then 10 years old. Able to get a joint room as max 4 people per room. The kids liked the hot breakfast which was included in the stay. Each room came with a small refrigerator and microwave which was handy for snacks for the kids who are always hungry after the meals. Although no walking distance restaurants, there are good ones short drive away. The staff was very friendly. The metro was 8 minutes away and you could use the free shuttle, or use own car. We will certainty stay there again.

    5
« Clean and amazing customer service! »

When my wife and I book a hotel room all we could ask for is that the hotel in general as well as our room are clean. In addition, customer service must be at a minimum, good. Our experience with these two critical components at the Rockville Best Western were experienced in spades. We will certainly be returning to this hotel in the future.

« Nice, clean accommodations for the value »

My wife, daughter and I stayed for only 1 night, as we attended a nearby event. Our room was very clean, roomy and the temperature controls allowed us to keep the room comfortable during a freezing day. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the mini-fridge/microwave combination was very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient location, just off Interstate 270, with a variety of stores and fast food restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The business center's computers were convenient. The complimentary breakfast was really good; scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, fresh waffles, mini-muffins, apples/oranges, yogurt, cold cereal, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, assorted juices. They also have complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day in the lobby. I would stay there again.

    2
    « Awful stay »

When we arrived,, there was another family saying they could smell gas and being ignored by the front desk staff, who were much overworked. The phone in our room would only allow us to phone the front desk and the heating was really noisy. It took two calls before someone came to look at it. The person didn't speak much English, so it took a long time to explain what was happening with the phone, and I don't think he ever understood it. He removed a panel on the ceiling, banged some stuff there and replaced it. Dialed 0 on the phone and talked with the front desk. Then said all was fixed. In fact, nothing was fixed. The restaurant was closed. When we asked why we were told in a rather flippant manner by front desk staff that perhaps because it was God's day (it was Sunday). A very frustrating stay.

« Pleasant place to stay »

I had business in Rockville and the free shuttle was great. There is nothing near the hotel to walk to, however and no restaurant so you need to bring carry-out food for dinner. The room was small but clean and comfy. Has a microwave, coffee pot and fridge.

    3
    « Nice Hotel »

Very nice hotel. However, the breakfast is the same food everyday, dry scrambled eggs, hard potatoes, and microwave bacon. The tv's in the room work but the picture is always fuzzy. Soda out of vending machine is $2.50. You're better off walking across the street to the gas station. It's much cheaper and a better selection. But the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

    5
« well taken cared of »

Was snowed in during major snow in the area and ended up staying for three nights. Room was clean and the hotel is well maintained. There were many customers in the hotel. Hotel were fully staffed and everything went smoothly. They even cleared up the snow from my car. Breakfast was very good would say above average compared to other hotels.wi-financial worked perfectly. Will definitely return.

    « FIne for a Night »

This was a convenient place to stay to get to Metro to go into DC for a training. Room was not the cleanest. And neither was the restaurant. But nothing we couldn't handle. Also, air would not work. Didn't report either as we didn't have the time or energy to deal with it but I think these things should be checked by staff more often. Especially the cleanliness.

« Good hotel, problems in room »

Overall good hotel, with good location, free breakfast, and free wifi. Unfortunately, room I was staying in, the bed had bedbugs. I would hope that this is brought to the attention of management and fixed, otherwise this hotel is a good value.

« Stay away if you wanna get lung cancer! »

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. To start off the receptionist did not want to honor the online price unless I book the Hotel from Hotels.com which was not much of a problem because I was able to do it easily and save a bunch. I booked a 2 night stay at this hotel while on a road trip from Florida to Washington DC with. The Hotel seemed decent and comfy, quiet, and the neighborhood seemed fine (was so wrong). It was minutes away from Washington DC and some pretty nice shopping centers. Now comes the "good" part. The hotel claims to be a 100% smoke free environment. and I have booked obviously a "Smoke Free" room. The receptionist made sure it was clear that the hotel is Smoke Free and signs were posted every where indicating that if a guest was found to be smoking in the room they will be charged a $300 fee for damages. When going into the room I was super cold, mind you the Snow Storm Jonas had just left up to the north east a couple of days after I arrived in DC. I cranked up the heat and it barley did a thing to keep things warm. I didn't make a big deal because it's easier to stay warm than it is to keep cool. As I sat in the room getting comfy and ready to go to bed I noticed a faint smell of cigarettes creeping into the room. It was coming from a vent in the bathroom. Since it wasn't that much of a smell I just let it slide. When it was about to be night 2 the smell started to get worse so I decided to give the receptionist a call regarding the smell letting her know that the cigarette smell was creeping in. I clearly stated to her that I have asthma and do not want to be blamed for the smell and be charged $300. She just apologizes and said she would have her security investigate where the smell was coming from. She never insisted that she would change my room. I let it slide for the night. I was tossing and turning all night because the smell of cigarette and finally woke 4am in the morning by noise from the next door quests and the most suffocating smell of cigarettes in my room! I was agitated and called the receptionist again. I spoke to her as calm as I could because I did not want to cause any problems. Once she heard me mention the room number she gave me attitude... "Oh, you ALREADY called about your room smelling like cigarettes and you saying to not blame you?" I acknowledged that I have called and told her that it is only getting worse. She responded with... "What do YOU want me to do then? You are going to check out at 12pm you want another room? We said we were going to investigate. YOU should've said something then" I told her I would have accepted the room change if I was given the option last night. I was so upset that I told the receptionist I was let her know if I wanted to change. I didn't want to bother gathering my things as I was too tired and had a long day of driving back to Florida. Upon leaving the room to get my breakfast I was approached by one of the guests on my floor getting in my face wanting to know if it was me complaining about noise. I was followed and watched the entire time I tried to eat my breakfast. I never felt to victimized by the not so helpful staff and by the creepy people staying in this hotel. This is NOT the place for a single women or anyone for that matter. This place needs to be shut down.

    « Praise long overdue »

We stayed here for about one month while our son was in the hospital at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. NIH is about 3-4 metro stops away & the hotel has a shuttle to take & pick you up from the metro. They will also take you to 3 shopping centers - one with my favorite Guapo's Mexican restaurant. Staying this long we really got to know the staff & they were very friendly & sympathetic to our son being ill. Every morning we had the best breakfast of any hotel - real scrambled eggs (not powdered) fried potatoes with green & red pepper & onions, sausage links, bacon, muffins, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, waffles, coffee & tea. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were a little bulky. The room was very quiet the whole time. If you are going to NIH this is an excellent alternative to staying in expensive Bethesda. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed in 2014.

« nice hotel but not perfect »

Stayed there overnight, one week after the big blizzard. The hotel is easy to get to, right off of Rt. 270. It sits on a hill and is away from the traffic. I would think that one week after the blizzard that the parking lot would be completely plowed. It was not. Over the half the spots were not usable as they still had snow on them. With a big family party in the hotel, there were not enough spots for guests. Hire a plow!! The lobby is very nice. With the party going on ion the ballroom, there were younger kids running through the lobby and yelling. Not a good first impression. Our room was very nice, a standard king room. We were on the top floor (7th) and it was quiet. We were two doors down from the elevators and we did not hear it at all. The room was clean. The bathroom needs some sprucing up. The bottom of the frame on the bathroom mirror is peeling and needs to be replaced. The grout needs to be cleaned as well as the back of the door. There are a lot of ethnic restaurants within a mile or so of the hotel. We were looking for something easy and were able to find a Panera. The check-in was easy but the two young men behind the counter were busy with their own agendas. However, the young lady at the desk for check-out was very friendly. They had a nice assortment of food - both hotel and cold - for the free breakfast. However, the hot items were not hot and just so-so. Can't go wrong with cereal. The breakfast attendant was very nice. I would probably stay here again if I am in the area but it is too busy (traffic) for me. This is more of a business hotel.

« Capacious room, powerful shower, great breakfast, nice staff! »

My wife and I were recently in the Rockville area to attend a concert and we booked a non-smoking room at the Best Western Plus. We were very pleased with our accommodations: the room was large, our king bed was very comfortable, and we were able to regulate the heat in our room quite easily. I've always found it interesting to compare hotels/motels in terms of their showers. Some places have problems with hot water; others have somewhat weak showers so that you can't be sure if you have washed out all the shampoo from your hair. Our room had a strong hot shower that woke us right up just as it should. We loved the photographs that lined the corridors on our floor and we were very impressed by the wonderful variety of breakfast items available (bacon, sausage, eggs, yogurt, cereal, pastries, among others) as well as the size of the dining area. The whole hotel looked very well maintained and the staff were friendly and welcoming. And here's a great extra: the Best Western Rockville has a shuttle that will drop you off at the Rockville Metro stop - something to keep in mind if you're visiting the DC area. We'll definitely be staying here next time we're in Rockville.

« Great Price and Good breakfast »

Great stay for the price and loved the free breakfast and internet. the location was very close to our family in Rockville Maryland. Rooms were very nice, bed was comfortable. The only thing was the fridge made a noise but nothing to bad.

« Stay away - infested with bed bugs, wouldn't give me refund! »

This hotel would not be so bad, except for the fact that my room was infested with bed bugs. I stayed there 2 nights, and noticed little specks of blood on the sheets, and was itchy. On the third morning, I actually found a bug on me when I woke up. I took the bug and went down to the GM, and told him I wanted a full refund, that I was leaving. He said the best he could do was to not charge me for the day I found the bug! I have had to dispose of my luggage, my clothing, and about $500 of academic books that are very hard to replace. STAY AWAY.

« Excellent Value for Suburban MD »

This is a very clean, quiet, pleasant and inexpensive hotel. The breakfast is good. This is one of the best hotel buys busy in the Bethesda, MD - Rockville, MD area. Staff of the hotel are friendly, helpful, and very professional. There is easy access off and on Interstate 270.

    « My favorite hotel »

I really enjoy staying at the Best Western Plus in Rockville, MD. The staff are very friendly and professional, the rooms are very nice (great bed, great shower, fridge and microwave, great view from upper floors). They provide an excellent free hot breakfast, and an hourly shuttle to the Metro with on-call pick-up service from the Metro. I've stayed there multiple times and the experience is always good.

    « Recent trip to D.C. »

I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. They ran out of the room which I reserved, and they were very friendly and apologetic about the fowl up. They up graded me to an executive suite, which was very nice. The hotel was very clean, with a friendly, helpful staff. Good business hotel

« Great place for the price. »

My wife and I stayed for 3 days to visit our daughter. The room was spacious and clean. The decor is a little dated, but overall well worth the price of the room. Bathroom was small you can't open the door if someone is standing in the room breakfast was really good what a decent selection

« Past times were better »

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and have always had a pleasant experience. This last time was a little different and although the staff did a nice job to accommodate and fix the heat problems i had in my room i was unhappy having to wait to get warm. Nice hotel but old building and in need of major updates.

    « Great choice »

Heading out of DC and late at night, but the desk clerk had a great holiday rate and accepted our dog too. Lots of area for dog walking. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast good. Enjoyed it so much we stayed there on our return trip.

« Bats??? waiting on animal control. »

I Booked several nights in December 2015 while displaced from our home. We checked in to discover that there is no A/C in the winter The boiler was switched over to heat for the winter. Unfortunately it is in the mid 70's during the day and the rooms are HOT. We managed to get switched to a room that was cooler than the first one and got the windows open what little they would come open. Unfortunately Many bugs and apparently a bat have flown in the window and they refuse to leave. It is now past midnight and we are waiting on animal control to come remove the bat from the room. The room was clean and the breakfast was good but I would not recommend this hotel.

    « Friendly, comfortable »

Great quality for the price! Staff was exceptional- personable, helpful, and friendly. Easy to get to from 270. The room was quiet and clean. I'm pretty particular about cleanliness in hotels, too. Whenever our travels take us to the area we will definitely stay again.

« Nice Lobby, Rooms satisfactory »

Hotel has been updated with modern lobby. Staff friendly and professional. No issues with room decor and cleanliness. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable, a lot of traffic noise through out the entire night. Ask for a room on the backside of the hotel, with a lower number to avoid traffic noise.

    « Very nice facility »

This is definitely upper end hotel with informative front desk clerk. Breakfast was pretty good with quick clean up by wait staff. I would stay here again. Very quiet during the night and I am a light sleeper.

« Overall Okay, Easy Parking, Nice Workout Space »

This is not a premium hotel but my room on 6th floor was clean and roomy. Free breakfast and plenty of parking. Bathroom was constructed of nice materials. Has pool outside and many machines to work out with. Refrig in room and a safe. View was nice but overall everything was average. Located in an office park very close to I-270.

    « Not Happy »

Here is a list of the items that I had issues with. 1. gave me an occupied room when I arrived at 2am. 2. then put me in a Handicapped room 3. Advertised new beds (they were lumpy) 4. Advertised HBO- there was no HBO

    3
« Fine not the best in this area »

The hotel is fine for the value it charges but not the greatest for business trips. It, however offers a shuttle service to the nearest metro service and a local village shopping centre. The staff is fine, not the greatest. The breakfast and internet are free. The internet is good, the breakfast is below average. The rooms are fine. Beds are too hard and stiff. Anyways, I am going to think twice before staying here next time due to cumulative factors.

    « Great Hotel »

This hotel was really great and the price was good. The rooms were nice with a comfortable bed. The service was good and the breakfast was really nice. Have stayed here before and would stay again for sure.

« Highly Recommeded Alternative for Business Travelers »

The Best Western Plus Rockville has clean comfortable rooms, attentive, professional staff and free buffet-style breakfast. I stayed there recently while attending a conference in "North Bethesda" for less than half the price of rooms at the conference venue (a mediocre, overpriced large chain).

« Air conditioning was not working »

I could not warm up my room. So I turned off the SW. Then the room temperature became OK for me. Maybe, it is a seasonal reason. I stayed there October. Other things were OK. The location is demoted from DC, but not too far.

« Good value in MD area »

-Easy to get in and out. -Parking a big bonus. -Bfast and coffee were easy to get to in the morning. -Thin walls, so watch the hanky lanky! -Rooms are large, but of course the bathroom is the smallest, with fewest amenities. No makeup mirror, poor lighting, etc. -Careful with the outlets in the base of the lamps- they only charge when the light is on! Makes for a big surprise in the morning when your phone isn't charged because you didn't sleep with the lights on!!

    « exceptional value »

This hotel serves a terrific breakfast with a dining area large enough for dozens of guests at the same time. There was a server present at all times keeping food replenished and fresh and cleaning tables. This property offers free shuttle service to the train every hour on the hour, has a top notch staff, and very clean and comfortable rooms. The onsite restaurant has great food at reasonable prices. They provide a phone number to you so when you return from the city on the train they come to the station to pick you up.

    « Suite »

Very impressive suite... had a good stay, plenty of amenities and the suite itself was roomy. Good location i.e. easy to find and access (easy on and off interstate) - Staff was very helpful, very professional.

« Convenient, Comfotable Good Value »

It has been a few years since last stayed at this hotel. It remains at good value with a very convenient location near I-270 in Rockville. The price is reasonable, the room is large and clean with a microwave and fridge. Good TV and Wifi. Comfy bed, but cramped bathroom The lobby is bright and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is average at best. It could include some fresh fruit. A nice thing about this place is it's convenience to Montgomery County, but without the nasty congestion of the Rockville Pike. Some good eats around the corner on Shady Grove Road.

    « Stolen ipad »

We checked out of the room and my daughter let her ipad under her pillow. We called the hotel and the said no ipad was turned in from housekeeping. There is no question that the ipad was under the pillow on the bed. If they made the bed or changed the sheets they would have found the ipad. What is wrong with people!!

    « Nice Stay »

LIke the hotel, clean etc. Had bad experience with door lock ...make couple trips to front desk and had to wait for maintenance man after working all. Recommend but you have to be small to fit into bathroom...door is always in the way...very small! No restaurants in area or services.

    « Traveling Through »

Clean, friendly staff, great atmosphere, good brealfast. Comfortable beds. I like the fact they have protective covers on their matresses. The front desk is always helpful and informative. Breakfast is fresh, hot and filling.

    « Very disappointed. »

The bathroom edges all had mold, the wall paper is peeling off the walls, the mirror and every painting has chips and chunks missing from their frames, the towels are old...this place is not as described by other travelers. I'm not hugely picky either. For $140, it shouldn't feel older than a Super 8. Overall, the rest of the reviews made me pick this instead of the Hyatt and I'm not sure what they had in their room that I didn't but it's not what they described.

« Our stay at the best western »

The staff was very helpful, they shuttled us to and from the metro train (subway) station, assisted us to book a room at a other hotel when they were booked up for the second night. They had a excellent free breakfast. Rooms were average, but much better than others in the area.

    « Good Hotel & Good Location »

The hotel is an older property but has been recently renovated. It is clean and the rooms are large. It is pet friendly, which is a bonus and has plenty of grounds to take them out. The location is pretty convenient. It is just of I-270 a few miles outside the Beltway, ideal for coming into DC from the northwest. The Rockville Metro is a 5 minute drive.

« Perfect for my stay and travel to D.C. »

« Lovely location with excellent service »

My husband I travel to DC frequently for business and pleasure. We tried a variety of hotels/motels in the area until we stayed at the Best Western Plus in Rockville, MD. Hands down, for quality of service and cleanliness combined with convenience we have found this site to be the best of all for cost. Since the first stay we have elected to return here every time. We particularly enjoy the suites when we have to stay for more than one day. Also, the staff have always been helpful and quick to respond to any issue we have brought to their attention. We highly recommend this Best Western Plus Motel.
