    « Good stay »

A good spot to rest between Cape Breton and Toronto. This hotel is clean, quiet and the beds are excellent. No bad smells no surprises. The restaurant offers some good fare and the dinner / breakfast deal is good. $106 for two people two dinners, two complete breakfasts. We arrived a bit late and it was snowing so we did not want to go out searching for food. I thought it was all good value and would stay there again.

    « A Gem in Rivière-du-Loup »

Super modern, very comfortable hotel. Hotel staff were helpful in English. Some wedding guests were noisy around the lobby, but the our floor was quiet. Bathroom has a sleek design, nice shower. Glad we found this place.

    « A Most Pleasant Stay »

We helped our son move to Riviere du Loup and stayed at this hotel for three nights. From our check in to checkout was totally hassle free. Great room, great food in the restaurants, and a great bi-lingual staff. We particularly appreciated the manger, Maria, who expended great effort to make our stay a pleasant. We will always stay here during future visits. We paid extra for a view of the St. Lawrence and it was money well spent.

    « Nice Hotel »

Poor quality of bed, noisy ++ and too soft. The k ing bed in our room needs attention. We loved the Restaurant as usual. This franchisee used to operate under Motel Levesque and in the past we went often by ski-doo during Winter time.

« The best Best Western yet »

We stopped there by accident. Normally on our first day driving east from Ontario we get to Edmunston, NB or similar non-descript destination, with its selection of ho-hum chain motels with bad breakfasts. This time after a particularly trying drive (massive bottle neck near quebec City) we were too tired and went in to Riviere du Loup, chose the best looking hotel de could see and in we went. What a pleasant surprise. A gorgeous facility with conference center numerous facilities (spa , hair dresser, pool , hot tub) including a first class restaurant, with an excellent wine list. Best of all modern well appointed large rooms, and with exceptional bathroom. The topper is the kindness and consideration of the staff both at the reception but especially in the restaurant. The restaurant has an exceptional menu both for supper and breakfast. We noticed many local couples and groups dining here as well ( always a good sign when the hotel restaurant is competing with the local fine dinning restaurants). This combined with good views of the water, an extensive wine list, a sophisticated menu and moderate prices makes a winning combination. All in all not to be missed on any trip through this region, we definitely will plan our future trips along the Trans Canada Highway or through Gaspe with a stop here in mind.

« Excellent Value. Large Room. Great Location »

Passing through Riviere-du-loup on a motorcycle trip. Booked this late in the day. Got a great rate on one of the internet sites. Check in was fast, room was clean. Onsite bar and close to restaurants. Not too crowded yet we were assigned a room that seemed to be a mile away from the check-in desk. No big deal, just found it odd they wouldn't use rooms closer to the front desk.

« So Modern, So Comfy »

Best Western Plus Hotel Levesque is the most modern hotel in which we stayed. The fixtures and artwork were very tasteful and very modern. We enjoyed the different modern fixtures, including a desk lamp that was a sort of swoop, a flat shower head which nevertheless does the job exceptionally, and a spout type sink faucet. The best was that all the comfort and luxury one would expect was also present. It was a pleasant combination of both. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely and recommend this hotel.

« Decided to stay elsewhere based on treatment by desk clerk »

Approached the desk staffed with a man in a suit to inquire about available rooms. His uppity attitude was off-putting as he took forever looking at his computer to see if he had 2 rooms. This was obviously some kind of snobby delay tactic as if he would be doing us a favour if we stayed there. He dragged out 'the search' forever. He was the sole reason for us leaving and staying elsewhere. No smile, no friendliness, no class. Nobody needs this kind of reception.

« Great Location For River View »

Only a few minutes from the ferry that takes you to the other side of the St. Lawrence, this updated hotel has everything you may need......including an upscale restaurant. Our room was at the far end so we got our walking in without going outdoors :). Our only concern was with regard to the corded shower head which was not properly secured and had to be hand-held. Had we known that the evening before, we would have requested another room. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk on check-out there was no offer to adjust the bill with the only comment being they would let their service people know. Even the slightest token of compensation would have been appreciated.

    « Best sleep I've had »

There's plenty of amenities at Hotel Levesque, but the one that made my stay was the bed. I could have slept in that bed forever. The rooms are large and modernly decorated, the bathrooms were lovely too. The shower was one of the best I've ever used as well. Really pleased overall. The staff we dealt with spoke English, so that was handy for us. :) Just a little noise from the hallway, but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

    « Overnight stays »

WOW just about sums up this Hotel. It really is incredible. My husband and I stayed overnight here both going to and coming back from Quebec City and were blown away. We had a room with a King sized bed which was amazingly soft, and the bathroom was gorgeous - and sparkling clean. The room was quite large by normal standards and we were surprised at how quiet it was although we were on the top floor so there was no-one above us to make a noise!!!! We stayed here again on our return from Quebec City (ironically we were given the same room) and decided to eat in their great looking restaurant. We have never eaten in hotels before - always heard the same comment - "never eat in hotels" - but both meals were incredible. My husband had the Lamb Shank and I had the Duck Leg. The presentation alone was well worth the price and the food was delicious. My only minor complaint would be the TV channels. My husband is an American Football Fan and as we landed here on a Thursday evening and his New England Patriots were playing that night he was looking forward to watching the game either in the bar (that, too, is really really nice) or our room, but the only sports channel was French and they were televising hockey. Not everyone is a hockey fan!!!! Therefore it would have been nice if there was a Fox or CBS Channel for other sports fans. Other than that, we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

« Best Hotel in Riviere du Loup »

From check in at this very modern looking hotel to the an excellent meal in the the hotel restaurant. Wonderful, modern bathroom, comfortable beds, view of the St.Lawrence. An experience that will bring us back again and again. The staff friendly and professional. Great value for money.

« Modern hotel in good location »

The hotel is fairly central to the town and only a short drive or 20 minute walk to the centre or river. This is a much more modern and European style hotel than some Best Western hotels. Room was large and bright with large and comfortable beds. Bathroom was clean and well supplied. There is a bar on the top floor that overlooks the highway, and catches the evening sun. Quick efficient check in and friendly attentive staff. Overall a good stay. I would certainly return.

    4
    « Couple Getaway »

The hotel is beautiful with an outside bar overlooking the water. If you request a room with a view, request at least 3rd floor and above. The rooms are well decorated, clean and been updated. Pool and hot tub was out of service and the air conditioner kept us up for the night. Staff was very friendly.

« Not Your Standard Best Western »

Stayed here 4 separate nights (May and Aug 2016) as a stop on trips down to the east coast. The rooms are clean, modern and large. Beds are very comfortable. The front desk staff is very friendly. Rooms face the St Lawrence for an extra cost, but if only staying here as a stop over, the rooms facing the back parking lot are fine. If you eat breakfast at the hotel, you can get your St Lawrence view while eating breakfast. The hotel offers a $12 breakfast voucher for their restaurant, which is a great price for what you get. The food is beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Rooms on the upper floors are preferable, 2 nights we were provided with a corner room on the first floor which was an incredibly long distance from the lobby and ice machine. Was also located next to an exit door, which could be noisy if people were entering/leaving from that location. The bathroom in the 1st floor corner room had a standard tub/shower combo, while the rooms on the upper floors had a lovely tiled walk in shower. Only negative note was the restaurant for dinner - after driving 10 hours and arriving approx 6:30p we were told that the restaurant was only serving those with reservations and would not be available until 8pm. Unfortunately we had to get back in the car and look elsewhere for dinner (there are options nearby, both within walking distance or a 5 min drive). The bar / lounge is also an option for dinner but serves mostly finger food, with low tables / chairs. Would definitely stay here again.

« Great place to stay »

The online pictures don't lie. The hotel is across the street from the St. Lawrence river and our room has a great view of the river. The bar and restaurant are good. We would stay here again. It's a great place to stay between destinations.

    4
    « Overnight stay »

We would stay here again the room was nice and big and modern. Only thing is bed very soft and so are pillows. Bed was workable but pillows way to soft would ask for firmer next time. The breakfast offered to guests for $12 is worth it and we was pleasantly surprised.

    « Impressed »

This hotel is very modern and updated. The room was 10+. Beautiful deco. The bathroom was great. It even had a full size hair dryer (loved it). The beds were super comfortable. Free parking. Good service and friendly staff. Very impressed.

    5
    « Wow. »

This hotel is in reality a Premier. It has everything. Modern, super clean, comfy, well located, what more to ask. An excellent restaurant on-site. A real treat. The place has almost every thing you may want or need or even think about. If you are passing by, go there. You will want to go back there afterwards.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

On arriving at this facility, I was pleasantly surprised. The exterior was modern industrial in design and much more appealing than the standard Best Western. This impression continued throughout the interior, including the room, which was significantly larger than the norm. The bar was lively, but if you just want food, the restaurant is preferable.

    « Beautiful, new hotel »

This is a fabulous new hotel. Everything is spotless and brand new. Very nice upscale rooms and bathrooms. We were upgraded to a room with a great view of the St. Lawrence river. The restaurant serves great food. We enjoyed our meals. I had the lobster rolls, and hubby the wings and poutine...when in Quebec...right?

« Overnight to catch the ferry in the morning »

Great hotel, great beds, bathroom, location and staff. This was our second time at this hotel and would come back anytime. We were heading to the Charlevoix by ferry the next morning and this hotel is only 10 minutes to the ferry terminal. Oh, and the hotel restaurant is also very good.

    « Impressive view & decor »

The best western in Riviere-du-Loup is located on a hill that overview the Saint-Lawrence River. The view is amazing. The decor and design is modern and very pleasing. Restaurant is located on a balcony whith a breathtaking view of the St-Lawrence Estuaire.

« Not Your Typical Best Western -- Upscale and Modern »

Spent the night here enroute from New Brunswick to Quebec. Had found this hotel on Trip Advisor. Not being a big fan of Best Westerns in the states, I was apprehensive initially. However, when I entered my room, I thought I was in a 4-star hotel. Plus, this hotel has a full service spa! At a Best Western hotel?? Seriously? The bed wa every comfortable, complete with a duvet like in Europe. The bathroom was very modern..everything was 4-star quality. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

« Clean and comfortable, but a couple of thoughts »

My husband, 10-month old and I stayed in this hotel as a stop on our way to Sydney, NS. After driving for 9 plus hours it was quite nice to find our room clean, updated and very comfortable. We used the facilities, including the gym and pool. My only suggestion / comment with respect to the pool is that we'd arrived in Rivière-du-Loup to temperatures hovering around the 11 degree range and we're hoping to tire our son out in the heated indoor pool. Unfortunately, the pool seemed to be about equally as cool. We were only able to spend about 10 minutes in the pool before our little guy was shivering and we had to vacate. To some however, this may be perfectly acceptable, so certainly not necessarily a negative, more of an FYI. We were assigned to room 144 and the air conditioning unit rattled incessantly when on, so we turned it on full blast while out to dinner then off while sleeping. Hopefully, management can get this fixed soon. All things considered we had a good stay with a clean, modern and comfortable room.

    « The Gaspe swing »

Our first night was in Rivière-du-Loup. The reception was very helpful. Accommodations very comfortable. Rooms have been newly renovated. I would stay here again. Lots of charm in this little town. We did not stay here long as we were travelling around hey 132.

« Loved our stay great view of the River and very comfortable. »

We haven't stayed at a lot of Best Westerns but if this place is an indication of what they are all like we're hooked. Stayed one night while on our way through. Hotel is newly refinished and our room was very clean and comfortable. Check in was quick and our room was on second floor overlooking the St Lawrence. The bed was great and it was a very nice and quiet. The hotel is well equipped with a bar area, pool etc. There are also other very good restaurants nearby. We will stay here again, for sure next time we are in the area.

« A wonderful stay in Riviere du Loup »

Excellent view of the fleuve and a wonderful hotel. Very clean. Worth the price. We would stay again on the way to the Maritimes. Wished we would have stayed 2 nites and take a tour to see the whales. Nice dining room, not your usual BW eating place. Very good food. Enjoyed it a lot.

    « What a nice hotel! »

This BW far exceeded our expectations. It's updated, immaculate and very contemporary. The hotel is spread out and the room was large. The bathroom was large and very upscale. We had lunch in the hotel bar restaurant and breakfast in the regular restaurant - both meals were excellent. The bar has an outdoor terrace facing the water which was nice. The hotel appears to cater to business groups and meetings and is set up perfectly for same - not sure how it would be to stay when a large group is booked as far as dining and using the facilities go. There was a salon on the premises and I suspect other services as well. We have only good things to say about our stay.

    « Superb »

Outstanding hotel!! This is my second time staying here. Impressed both times. The room was spacious and very well set up. Two comfortable arm chairs overlooking a fantastic view of the St Lawrence. Bathroom/shower were very clean, modern finishings and very large. Hardly any noise heard from surrounding rooms or hallway. Internet was easy to connect to, very reliable connection and fast. Easy to get to and from the highway, in quiet surroundings. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, both at check in and check out.

    4
« En Route overnight stay »

Overall good experience. GPS necessary to find hotel coming off the Trans Canada from the east. Not a typical BW, but a high quality hotel in all aspects including excellent and courteous staff and first class accommodation and amenities. Does not offer the traditional BW free hot breakfast.

    5
« The hotel is excellent all around »

We have been travelling by car for past 6 weeks travelling to NFLD and back to Winnipeg ..we have stayed at many hotels along the way and this has to be the best of all. We have stayed at many of the competitors as well as a number of other best western but this one is far superior. The restaurant is superb and I had a excellent duck breast at a very reasonable price. The room is very well appointed and spacious. The bathroom is huge and the staff are more than helpfull. Also of note the beds are very comfortable and a abundant of Hugh towels Norm

    4
    « Modern updated »

This hotel was renovated 2011-2013 and remains in good condition. Very comfortable beds and duvets. It was clean and staff were efficient and friendly. Some of the things seem cheap, eg, toilet paper holder crooked and loose and the doors seem to be the same old doors from old hotel. Still I was impressed with the style and quality for a Best Western. We used Airmiles to book it on a trip to/ from Quebec in August-Sept 2016. Travelled with our 3 daughters aged 13,11 and 8. Used our camping cot in room for youngest. Our 11 and 8 year olds enjoyed the very small modern pool and kids' modern waterfall. It is a very small space but still something kids look forward to after a long day of driving.

    4
    « Quick & relaxing stay »

My boyfriend and I had a quick stop over here. The king bed was very comfy and we were exhausted so it was perfect. We paid extra to have the river view room and it was worth it. In the morning, we got the breakfast room service and it was really good. The only negative is the Keurig coffee machines in the room and that they only supplied the powder coffee whitener.

    5
    « A notch above the others »

If the modern design and architecture of the recently refurbished hotel give it a bit of a box-like look, it certainly would qualify as the best "box" east of Quebec City, no disrespect intended. Now that we have stayed here several times, we placed it among the top of our preferred hotels when traveling to the Maritime Provinces or the Gaspé Peninsula. Easy to get to from the highway, it is located only some 15 minutes from the Ferry that takes you across the St. Lawrence river to the Charlevoix region. About half of the rooms have a lovely river view. They are very clean, spacious and comfortable, with no lack of amenities. The tastefully done landscaping allows for ample parking space and is impeccably maintained. Along with the elegant simplicity of the large reception area and the stylish dining room, with a terrace overlooking the River, they give the hotel its distinctive characteristics that place it a notch above the others. If this review has been helpful, please let me know by clicking on Thanks below.

« Hopefully gets better with time! »

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Levesque for one night and experienced a less than stellar experience from the staff. This is too bad as the hotel property and room were very nice. We decided to eat late in the Resto Lounge after a late drive from Montreal on our way to the Maritimes. My wife asked if a certain menu item could be prepared differently than stated and our server said yes. After more than 30 minutes the restaurant manager came out and told us that the kitchen could not prepare the food as requested. We then reordered and waited for another 30 plus minutes for simple food items. At that point our appetites had lessened significantly and could not understand the reason for the delay. Our server never once apologized which was inappropriate as we are reasonable people and understand if something cannot be done if explained to within a reasonable amount of time. As we were the last customers in the lounge other than one person at the bar who knew the bar staff, the bar staff seemed to act as if there was no one there but themselves which I felt was not appropriate. We complained to the restaurant manager about our experience and she could not apologize and say so sorry enough. Too little too late unfortunately. She offered to buy our breakfasts the next day which helped lessen our bad experience. The next morning the shower handle pulled off in my wife's hands and we were left with cold showers. At that point we just wanted to leave and head on our way. We let the front desk know but again no apologies and a seemingly indifferent attitude. As I said the hotel property, room and bed were great but the staff interaction experience was far less than great. I only like to give positive reviews but felt compelled to pass on our experience in the hope that the hotel manager reads this and improves where necessary.

    « It shouldn't be this difficult »

Booked this for a stopover between PEI and Toronto. The city is pretty and the view of the water from the hotel is spectacular - I wished I had paid extra for the view. Check in was fine, but when we got to the room, we found 2 bathing suits from previous guests crumpled up on the floor, so it's clear that it wasn't cleaned very thoroughly. When I called front desk to ask for the pillows and bedding to be switched to non-feather due to allergies, this seemed very difficult. After an hour and a half, I called front desk again as it was getting close to my kids' bedtime, and the desk person said she would come up soon. It seems there was no housekeeping staff on? The font desk person brought 2 smelly blankets and non feather pillows and handed them to me so that I could make the bed up with the bedding. The blankets smelled so bad, I turned the AC in the room down and slept without. The pool was TINY and crowded and murky. This place needs to improve housekeeping in terms of presence, thoroughness of cleaning, and supply of linens.

    « Excellent hotel! »

Great stop overnight on our way through to the maritimes. Clean, new, friendly staff and excellent amenities. Although the pool is small, this is the best from this franchise that I've stayed at. Highly recommend for couples and families!

    « An unexpected surprise »

Just as many reviewers before me I was extremely surprised by how lovely this hotel was. The decor is modern, beautiful and chic through out the hotel. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Shower was large and great water pressure. The staff were professional, friendly and very attentive. The breakfast was outstanding!!!! I've never experienced such an exquisite cuisine in a hotel ... The homemade jam was divine. The pool is small but kept clean sand the kids still enjoyed it. 2 thumbs up for a delightful experience!

    « A first class hotel. »

Had a comfort room called comfort room because it is very far from the main deck and I would advise people to choose it over the regular room as the price is lower simply because it is far from the main desk but is of the same high quality as the more expensive room. It has a view of the river and parking right below our room. We chose the first floor because of the luggage we had otherwise, the second floor gives you a more lovely sunset. The room seemed new, it was very and appealing. I was disappointed that this BW PLUS did not include breakfast as the ones in the USA. As it was high tourist season, the price was right. Next to the hotel is an excellent restaurant, the St-Patrice... highly recommended. We stayed one day on the way to Matane and 2 nights on the way back insisting we have the same room.

    5
« Nice place with friendly staff »

Great experience at this Best Western, great restaurant choices, friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. We had a great view of the St. Laurence River and staff provided suggestions for local activities as well as a free glass of wine at check-in.

« Dinner at hotel, not a staying guest »

Had a wonderful light meal in the bar overlooking the river after a long day on the road. Service was very professional, courteous and accommodating. Choices from all available menus. Would dine here again when's the community.

« Great hotel. Unfortunate room service. »

On our way to east coast from Toronto so a nice place to stop. BW is just off the highway and very modern and clean. $150 a night plus tax is pricey for BW with no breakfast included but it is a busy spot so they can charge this. Bathroom is large, modern and excellent! We decided to stay in for dinner and watch the olympics so we ordered room service. I walked down to restaurant with my 12 year old who speaks French. Luckily Isabelle in restaurant was lovely and she spoke very good English! The restaurants looked very nice but we were wanting to stay in. We ordered 4 meals and a Caesar salad. Isabelle said it would be about 20 minutes. I put on room tab and added 15% tip when I ordered. We were in no rush but it took 40 minutes. Just good to know. Poor delivery guy could not speak English which was ok as in Quebec (!) but he couldn't deal with problems! He didn't bring a copy of the bill which was odd. The poutine was cold and there was no gravy (we asked for it on the side and Isabelle said no problem); there was no Caesar salad; there was no salt and pepper or parm cheese. I called Isabelle to let her know and she apologized. We ate what we had and waited. Seafood pasta, chicken pasta and meat pasta were good but small portions (our daughter left a very large lump of meat sauce as not nearly enough pasta - which costs nothing!) and there was no extra parm cheese and no pepper which is necessary with pasta! ... Delivery Gentleman came Back when we were done pasta with poutine and gravy for daughter (fries now cold as they didn't change them), "parm" cheese (not sure what kind it was) Caesar salad and salt and pepper. Appetizer Caesar had bagged croutons, fake bacon and fake dressing (tasted like Renee's) for $10. We expected much better overall based on prices and reviews. We Paid over $100 for room service to have a very mediocre partially cold family dinner which arrived not all at the same time. So, hotel is great. But a big pass on the food which is too bad. Def not having breakfast tomorrow! Staff are very nice and friendly but product can't deliver so impression suffers. Maybe not offer room service unless you can meet average expectations? We will definitely stay here again but not eat at restaurant!

    « Great hotel - ask for a view »

We stayed at this property on Aug 12, 2016. I had actually booked through Expedia so I didn't know where the room would be located. When we arrived we were pleased to see the hotel having such a modern look to the outside. It has a nice out door patio for the Les 171 bar where you can sit for a drink or for food. The lobby is nicely decorated as are the hallways. Our room had a king bed, mini fridge, two chairs, very modern desk and lighting. Very clean and modern bathroom as well. An excellent view of the water! And of the sunset! Would highly recommend this hotel.

    « check your reservation »

We reserved a room had confirmation only to show up and were told my reservation was for the following week. Had 5 witnesses that I booked over the phone for the correct date was ask to give them a minute. The next gentleman comes up and hears the hotel was full. By this time Maria (shout out to you) comes to the rescue. Not only did she cancel our reservation for the following week, but she made a few phone calls and got us a room. Maria was calm, friendly, caring and smiled as she fixed someone else's error. We got a room. Thanks Maria 5 stars for you out of 5. View - out the front door water. Rooms - clean, warm, welcoming and you feel relaxed. Pool - very small Food - expensive and limited menu. Travel book mentioned two places to eat. Thought one might be more family friendly. Reception area - large, airy, up-to-date, welcoming. Beds - wonderful and pillows embrace your head. Not use to not having a break included in price. We travelled Quebec, New Brunswick and PEI and the same on the return to Ontario. This was the only hotel not to offer a breakfast. Why call it a PLUS? It looked nicer but really nothing to make it something I call a plus. Now the big question would I stay here again? Yes

    « Very nice hotel »

Very modern hotel with changing colours of lights at night. Looks almost out of place in this quaint city. You drive along a small two lane street with small houses and shops and then...Wham, a big modern hotel pops up. Very spacious lobby with elevators and a conference/banquet area in the back, accessible with a separate entrance. Very clean and modern common area washrooms. There was a small pool but smelled of heavy chlorine. The unusual thing about this place is that you have to get your pool towels at the front desk. The doublebed room was very spacious and well appointed with modern faucets and a shower. There is a hair dryer available but it is black and on the black shelf at the back and can be overlooked. Lots of plugs for electronic devices but be aware that you can only have 3 devices for the free wifi. There is a coffee pod coffee maker in the room with a small fridge and a nice size counter area. A restaurant is on site with a big patio overlooking a small motel and the St.Lawrence. Only draw back with this BestWestern plus is that they do not have a complimentary breakfast but there are lots of nice restaurants along the little strip. For those with mobility issues, the second floor rooms can be accessed through the back door where there is a ramp and you don't have to wait for the elevators. Ice and vending machines available just off of the lobby. There seems to be a Spa on site but we did not visit. Try to get a high floor on the front side of the hotel with a view of the river. The staff is bilingual but seemed kind of cold towards the English speakers. Ample parking at front and rear of hotel.

« Modern, Clean and Comfortable »

We had such a good sleep here which is really all that matters when you are stopping on your way home from PEI. I usually like a breakfast included which this did not have and I don't know why bother putting in a pool so small, we didn't bother using it. However if you want a seriously comfortable sleep stay here.

« Modern hotel in a quaint city »

Stayed at this hotel on the way to and from the Maritimes. Was surprised at how unique the hotel's exterior did not seem to blend into the rest of the town. Unlike other Best Westerns, breakfast was "offered" at an additional charge but it gave us an opportunity to venture out into town and discover. Found the check-in and out experience professional but a bit cold.

« Great Hotel for families »

We stayed here with our two children 9 and 12. We loved this hotel. It was clean and the front desk was bilingual and very helpful. We would stay here again. The pictures are exactly what you get. Very close to the harbor for the whale tours which was great.

« Like something from the future, great Best Western »

This stay was super brief as we used it passing from the Maritimes into Ontario, so keep in mind this review is based on only a few short hours, but this is the nicest Best Western I have ever stayed in. First, it's in an excellent location. Second, you know how some hotels have uber modern fixings which sometimes serve as a facade to detract from the lesser-things in their location? Well this hotel is NOT like that at all. It's super modern fixings and amenities are simply really nice fixtures in a really nice hotel. Third, it's super clean and very comfortable. Steer clear from the pool though, unless you're there to capture the phenomenal view of a sunset, because it's not very clean and has several unidentifiable floaters (ew). Aside from this, I would definitely stay here again.

« Luxurious respite at the half way point from the Maritime to Ontario »

We booked a double bed room on Priceline for $104 USD. We were driving from London ON to Sydney NS, and this is the half way point. We rolled up at 11 pm, and immediately recognized this place for its unique blue light exterior. This hotel looks like it was built a tech conference in silicon valley. Beautiful exterior and interior, with modern and clean rooms. The beds were perfect, the shower was perfect - everything about this place was just as great as the first time we stayed here when we made the trip 2 years ago. Inside it has a fancy restaurant with delicious food. If you are eating low carb, there are not many options - if you have no dietary restrictions you have to try the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon.

« Modern hotel but looks better on web than it is »

On the web this hotel looked phenomenal, modern, nice rooms and great facilities. It is modern however the pool is tiny. The room is spacious and modern but there was a strong smell from the carpet and no windows to open. Service was friendly and the price we paid was good so overall it was ok

    4
    « Clean & Comfortable Room »

We stayed overnight at the end of a long road trip to NB,PE, & NS. We were very pleased to have a very nice room with comfortable beds, and a very clean bathroom. We were on the ground floor with easy access to our car.

« Modern Hotel But Needs Improvement »

The hotel was modern and beautiful and the staff was very kind. When we got to the hotel we asked if they could change the bedding from feathers to cotton however, when we got to our room, the bedding and pillows were feathers, we were notified that they were synthetic feathers however, when you have an allergy feathers are feathers. They ended up taking away the pillows and blanket and gave us a non-feather blanket yet they didn't have any other pillows. Also, our fridge was warm so they got us a new one.

    5
    « Great Experience »

Stopped over in Reviere du-Lope enroute to the Gaspe, this place is very modern and new, this a Best Western Plus but it would say it is a Plus x 2. I could not find anything to criticize, that is unusual for me. Great view of the St. Lawrence River as well.

    4
    « surprisengly good »

We stayed at the BestWestern for only a night but we were really happy, when we saw the rooms. We had a standad room but it was clean and quite big. After a long drive we took a little snack at the hotel bar. The food was good, but it took about an hour to get it. They were really busy. For a layover the hotel was perfect.

    3
« Not great for kids »

My parents stayed here and raved about it. The rooms are clean and the desk staff was considerate, warning me that there was a wedding so I should call them if noise was a problem. I thought they meant people being drunk and loud in the hall at midnight. Nope - it's 830 pm and my room is booming from the DJ's tunes from the actual reception. Not much point calling to make a noise complaint about that. Note: if you book on a Saturday, ask first if they're hosting a wedding. Then the pool: tiny, dirty, with crazy slippery tiles around it. It looks pretty, but they don't maintain it. The filtration system couldn't keep up with the kids using it. Hair floating all over the place in it, and random chunks that I chose not to investigate. With six kids in it you could barely move. Since I was arriving late with 2 kids I ordered food delivered to the room. It arrived without the drinks we ordered, or utensils, so they had to run back. The food was average, the portions small, the bill hefty. The building is impressive. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are modern and clean. A walk in the hall reveals that people clearly don't respect the no smoking rule but my room doesn't smell of smoke. I'm sure some of the better rooms have a gorgeous view of the river. The only reason I'd stay here again is because there isn't anything better nearby.

« Hands down, best beds ever! »

We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful hotel. It is 5 star in our books. The lobby is beautiful and my husband said the lobby washroom was amazing! The decorations in the room are so modern clean and tasteful. Unfortunately our fridge didn't get very cold. We spoke to another guest who had the same problem. They called front desk and it was replaced. I should have done the same. There was no freezer in the fridge. The beds! The beds were so comfortable. I didn't want to get out in the morning. My kids slept in (and they NEVER sleep in!) I will never forget these beds! I want the same bed for my home. I haven't slept this well in months! We used the pool but found it a little small and unfortunately the depth was over both of my children's heads. There was no hot tub which was a little disappointing as the pool was a little cool. I walked by the restaurant and it smelled delicious! The reason I gave it 4 stars was because breakfast wasn't included which I thought was the case for all Best Western Plus'. If ever in RDL, stay here. You will not be disappointed.

    « Very nice hotel »

This place is wonderful! Rooms a big enough and well equipped. It seems that everything is just as new. The beds are soft and the room is overall clean (also the towels). We will come back for a visit! One of the best 'Best Western Hotels' we have been. Hotel is also nearby parc de la pointe and parc des chutes.

    « Breathtaking »

This hotel is such a hidden gem! We had a gorgeous new room with an amazing view of the river. We just stopped over to sleep on our way to Ottawa, but the hotel was so great, it would be terrific for a return visit!

    5
    « Top notch hotel »

There was only one thing that we could complain about at this hotel. Entrance door 9 at the back of the hotel has a set of stairs down to the door from the parking lot that made it difficult to get the luggage to the room. There should be a ramp to make it more accessible. The hotel itself was very modern with a lot of neat items that I have not found in 5 star hotels. The shower head in the tub was the best one I have ever had the pleasure of using anywhere. I even tried to find out what kind it was so I could get one for our ensuite at home. The bed and bedding were comfortable and very luxurious like on a cruise ship. Having stayed at other Best Westerns I would rate this one the best and it would compare to a Hyatt or Hilton hotel.

    4
    « Very nice hotel »

Beautiful hotel. If you are looking for modern and extravagant, this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for a pool, this is not the place to stay. Very small pool in a large room. If you are looking for a continental breakfast this is not hotel to stay at.

    5
    « Best Best Western! »

We only stayed here for one night but it was a very comfy one! Our room was very spacious and modern, the bathroom was great with a large walk-in shower, good quality towels and toiliteries. It was a wet day when we arrived so it was very convenient to be able to eat in the restaurant as opposed to having to walk into town. Food really good and excellent service. Loved the decor too. Breakfast was superb although it wasn't included in the room price, very reasonable, again excellent service. Room overlooked the river which on a sunny day would have been wonderful. Definitely the best Best Western we have ever stayed in. If we were out this way again would return, highly recommend.

    « Modern hotel in Rivière-du-loup »

Hotel Lwvesque has gone through a recent modernization which has transformed it into a French type avant-grade hotel. But it has a cold atmosphere to match it almost all white interior. It is nonetheless a good hotel with comfortable rooms, two restaurants, and a friendly and helpful staff. It is a twenty minute walk from downtown, all uphill so you may need to drive if you are in a rush, have mobility issues, or you visit in a Canadian winter.

    5
« European type amenities on the north shore of the Gaspe »

Beautiful on the outside, gorgeous on the inside with an unusual large, beautiful, high ceiling lobby. The rooms were contemporary again with that European, Scandinavian flair. The bed was super comfy. the bathroom compact but elegant. Loved this Best Western.

    5
    « riviere du louop »

sensational Best Western. Best I have been in and we are platinum members. the hotel and room were beautiful and the comfort of the room outstanding. the bed was super comfortable, the bath tib was like a Jacuzzi tub, the decor very pleasing. We toured the old town of Riviere du loup to get a feel for the community. We ate at restaurant du St Patrice which was excellent.

    « Over-rated! »

My wife and I found out what the "PLUS" is for; everything is extra; small pool, okay, but hot tub? $25 extra to use the spa. Breakfast, usually included, not! The room was clean and everything worked, even the TV after 2 service trips. We've stayed at BWs for many years, but never again the "plus". This hotel just lacks some heart!

    « Gone downhill ... disappointed »

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times before and enjoyed it. Last night we stayed there and were so disappointed that we will never return. We booked our regular suite ( room 227). When we arrived I stayed outside to grab some minor things from the car and my husband checked us in. I went up the the room and he said he had already called about the cigarette smoke in the room. We were not offered an alternate room. The desk clerk brought us a deodorant spray. She said it appeared to be coming in the bathroom vent and was very strong. The room hadn't been cleaned properly, it was dusty enough to write your name in the dust. We even found a ping pong ball in the room. At 3am we had to get up and spray the room again because the smoke smell was so strong. I laid awake with an irritated throat and we decided to check out at 6:30am with no breakfast and no discount. The room cost was over $250.00 . That was our final stay. So disappointed, no apology, no offer of an alternate room, no discount, dirty room and no sleep.

    5
« If you need a hotel, this is the one you should choose »

If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stay here, you won't be disappointed. Everything was flawless. A great experience, really nice, comfortable room. And the restaurant is very, very good. We will be going back.

« The Plus in Best Western »

We have stayed at many Best Western and Best Western Plus Hotels over the years. We have found this hotel to be extremely clean, having a nicely decored bathroom and living space, and was supplied with clean and comfortable bedding. It was refreshing to see that after a long day of traveling that coming into a fresh, clean and comfortable room could be so enjoyable. It was well worth the money for us to book here. The location was important for us as we wanted a hotel located between Quebec City and Edmundston N.B. that was better than economy and still affordable. We found this hotel exceeded on both these expectations.

« 1st stop from Toronto to Halifax.. »

Fortunate to have opted to stay for the night on our road trip to the Martimes. It is newly renovated, very clean and up to date furnishings. We were given a room overlooking the St. Lawrence River and the view was very nice. Woke up early to use the workout room, although earlier than 6:00 am the desk person was kind enough to let me in (older gent, thank you). Looking forward for the next trip and have same for accommodation.

    « Quebec Delight »

Exceptional location. Facility was above what we expected, clean and contemporary in decorations with original art on the walls. Staff were courteous and friendly at the same time. Although we did not speak french, the staff graciously spoke english.

    5
    « Fabulous Facility »

We have not stayed here since they did the extensive renovation and were in awe. It is beautiful. The room was beautifully appointed and well designed. The bathroom with the walk-in shower is super - no more climbing over the edge of the tub. This is our hotel of choice if we return to Riviere du Loup.

    5
    « Good choice »

Very nice rooms, good restaurant (Le griffe) with friendly staff and good food. The breakfast was great. Homemade bread, jam and beans available. The rooms were large and comfortable. The modern plumbing was a little confusing to us older folks. Would suggest this to anyone. I was pleased with our choice.

    4
    « Clean and spacious »

We stayed here on a trip from PEI to Ontario. Liked it so much we stayed in it again on our return. I wasn't able to get the beautiful water view we had on our first night for the return trip but the room was just as nice. Coffee maker , mini fridge, nice walk in shower. Very modern and up to date. Elevators come very quickly. on site restaurant and pool.

    5
    « Riverside Hotel »

We stayed here one night and were extremely satisfied with all amenities. The rooms are large and very comfortable. Our rooms were on the ground floor near the pool and spa. We did not really have time to make use of these facilities but they looked very nice. The restaurant and bar are on the second level overlooking the river. Great food and drinks watching the sunset, although it did take some time to get the attention of the servers since they appeared to be very busy.

    5
« Fantastic Hotel in the heart of the town »

I've stayed in many hotels over the years and this one is top notch! Extremely clean common areas and rooms were top notch. The room and bed were more comfortable than some luxury hotels I've paid 3 times as much for!

    5
    « A return trip »

We had stayed here on a previous trip 11 years ago but it had been redeveloped & un-recognisable. On arrival the reception was unable to find our booking but the manager upgraded us to a larger room where we relaxed for a while before enjoying a lovely meal & a sunset view across the river in the hotel's Le Griffe.

    4
« Awesome... but traffic noise... »

Love our room and the hotel. The traffic noise is strong though. Bring white noise. We have a 2 queen room and theres enough space to cram in the pack and play for our baby. The tub is super deep. Hotel is very clean. So nice to end a day of road tripping here.

« Unique Hotel With Very Comfortable Bed »

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel is close to the river and easy to find. There is plenty of parking although most are quite a ways from the front door. Upon check in we were advised that we were given a better rate - saved ourselves $20. Our room had a queen size bed and we overlooked the water. The bed was super comfy but my husband found it too soft and had a sore back in the morning. The room was not large enough for the type of furniture in it. The bathroom was not a bad size but on the small side. The shower could have been a bit larger. The shower head was great and had good pressure. I found that the building itself was not constructed for soundproofing or with products to help reduce noise You could feel the floor bounce when you walked on it and you could hear everything going on in the hallway - was very loud. There is no breakfast at this hotel. You do have a Keurig coffee maker which makes not bad coffee. Check in and out was easy and the staff at front desk were friendly. The outside of the hotel is uniquely designed and inside the unique theme continued). There were large cylinders around the property which changed color continually - very cool to watch.

    5
    « Modern Hotel »

If one is looking for a modern hotel, this is it! Although "modern" is not my favourite style, this hotel was extremely comfortable and provided all amenities. Maria (front desk manager) was fabulous! She took the time to not only assist us in getting the best room for our needs, she also introduced herself...this rarely happens that someone will make a hotel stay "personal'. Maria is a valuable employee!

    4
    « Modern, Clean, Comfortable »

Modern looking and decorated hotel. Rooms were nice and spacious, very clean. Washroom as a little small, but okay for one night and shower was very enjoyable (adjustable shower head height was a nice feature). Many entrances make it easy to access your room often without the need of an elevator. Close to restaurants (walking distance) or a short drive to the downtown area.

    5
« Excellent value and experience »

My stay at this hotel was exceptional. The service was great, my room was clean, elegant and very comfortable...one of the most comfortable beds I have ever had in a hotel, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. The food at the pub, as well as the service, was excellent and, again, an excellent value. It is not often that one feels like you are getting more than you pay for but this was definitely one of those times. I would recommend your hotel to anyone I know travelling this area!

    5
    « What a great find »

Beautiful modern hotel, friendly helpful staff and a terrific restaurant. Large comfortable room with luxurious linens, this is a five star hotel. What a bargain, cannot say enough good things our stay. Do yourself a favor and stop here if traveling from Ontario to the Maritimes

    5
    « A surprise but excellent stay! »

We were a group of five sports cars on a road trip to the Maritimes. The exterior of the hotel was very eye appealing and the interior was also nice. We dined in a separate room which would probably hold twelve and it made for a very nice atmosphere. Our server and our meals were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel.

    3
« Unique Facade but typical service »

I was advised to stay at this hotel by travellers who recently visited there. I usually stay in Levis but i was told this would be a great place for me. Interesting building with very modern interior and an artful facade especially at night. I travel a great deal and enjoy road trips but I seem to never find a decent place to stay in Quebec - I am an English speaking Canadian and I try to speak my limited French to engage people but it never works - when you train your staff all members should be amiable especially when you are running a business for travelers who are looking for a bit of comfort and kindness on the road. The front desk staff upon arrival was fine. Our breakfast server in the morning at the restaurant changed and when we ordered the vegetarian omelette, it arrived with meat. Yes, it was changed but no apology was given. The cleaning staff were not welcoming either no matter what language I used to engage them. I believe the management should address this issue or you will lose many customers. And rather than responding with a typical generic apology underneath my review - save your energy and remind your staff, all of them, that paying customers should be made to feel welcome and not judged. Bottom line, no matter what I look like, I am Canadian but I never feel a sense of national pride when staying at establishments in Quebec. Too bad though - the place looks nice but that's where it ends. If anyone can recommended a decent establishment in Quebec because I drive through there a great deal, please make contact.

    « Greta Stopover in Riviere-du-Loup »

The Hotel exceeded our expectations and had a great view of the St. Lawrence River. The staff were friendly and efficient and both the dinner and breakfast were very good. The room was clean and well appointed.

    5
« Big room, nice view, great breakfast »

Let me add my praise. The rooms are big and well appointed. The bathroom is large, as well, so one person can be at the sink while the other showers. The view is a bit far back from the St Lawrence, but with an odd number on the 4th floor, it still is very nice. And the breakfast was a great surprise. Ham and cheese omelet for me (with excellent crispy potatoes) and a yoghurt and fruit for my wife--plus good tea. And the evening before, we wanted just bread and cheese in our room (plus wine) and had bought some earlier in the day. I asked the restaurant for plates and knives. They supplied good ones, no questions asked. Beats the pants off anyplace else in the price range.

    4
« Modern, clean and fresh »

This hotel is very cool, with nice modern fixtures and design. The lobby is enormous and the hallways are wide. Our room on the third floor had views of the St Lawrence from the wall to wall windows where we could watch the ferry come and go. The king size bed was super comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in glass shower and waterfall tap on the sink. There is an in house restaurant, but we walked 20 minutes to the central part of town where there are many restaurants. There is a tiny indoor pool. The fitness room has a few cardio machines, free weights and a universal machine. Pleasant desk staff and very clean hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

« Great value for a modern clean property. »

We stayed on the way to the Cabot trail and did whale watching. We liked the hotel so much that we adjusted our trip so we could stay at it again on the way back. The hotel is clean, modern and has very comfortable beds. Many rooms over look the St. Lawrence seaway. Both nights we stayed there were large function (Graduations) but other than the number of cars in the parking lot this did not disturb us in the least.

    5
    « Hotel Stay »

This was an amazing hotel with great services including a spa and restaurant and bar. All services were amazing. I recommend staying at this hotel for business or pleasure. The food was excellent in the bar and watched the sun set over the water while eating.

    « Exceeds expectation »

Conveniently located along the trans-canada Highway. Unexpectedly spacious room for a motel. Extremely high quality bed linen and comfortable beds. Huge soaking bathtub and strong hot water rain head shower. Exquisite toiletries. Good size flat screen TV. Very good dining room. Reception service was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

« Architecturally beautiful with views »

I love this unusual hotel! The decor and design are gorgeous and unexpected for a Best Western. Get a waterview King and be there for the sunset. Comfort, professionalism, modernism at it's finest. Who is your decorator? Fabulous place for a romantic weekend. Town is charming with shops and restaurants. The beds were soft for us but we like a firm bed.

    5
    « Worth going back »

We have been stopping at the Hotel Levesque for many years and always found it a perfect stop. Since they have rebuild a few years ago their accommodation is not only perfect with clean and well appointed rooms and a view of the Saint Lawrence River but the restaurant in the Hotel is excellent. We will continue to stop there on our way to the Maritimes.

    « Great Stopover Location »

Great stopover hotel between Ontario and New Brunswick. The hotel is almost brand new, the rooms pristine, the staff friendly and the view picturesque, if you are on the "aquaside". Floor to ceiling windows, overlooking the river and the sunset. Comfortable seating in suite. Worth the drive to Riviere du Loup-which is a quaint, architecturally interesting town and has nice shops and restaurants. The breakfast served in their restaurant is quite nice and they offer a breakfast coupon special price if you ask at the front desk. We would recommend this hotel and we will return.

« Lovely Hotel with great Food »

Stayed here for 1 night. Hotel recently renovated and everything about it is new and crisp. The room was very spacious, clean, bright and quiet with a small fridge. The mattress was not as firm as I like but the bed was very comfortable and I had a great sleep. Found the AC a little noisy but got use to it quickly. The bathroom was very clean and updated. There was no tub but a huge walled in shower that was fantastic. Found the food for a hotel was superb. Had an evening meal in the Resto-bar Terrasse Le 171. The food and service were both excellent. We tried the apple and fennel salad with homemade gravlox, mussels in wine with french fries and a wonderful chocolate truffle for dessert. Breakfast was also excellent and one of the best breakfasts we ever had in a hotel. You had a choice of 6 or 7 menu items...waffles, french toast, omelets, egg benedict, yogurt parfait. Lots of fresh fruit came with each item as did toast with homemade strawberry jam. This will be our hotel next time we are in Riviere-du-loup.

« Modern, contemporary!. Not your mom's Best Western! Fabulous! »

We stayed for only one night. We could have stayed for a week. When we entered our rooms, we celebrated. Floor to ceiling windows, overlooking the river and the sunset. So modern, so clean, staff friendly and accommodating. Walk around and check out the decor in the whole hotel, it's worth the time. Look up, down and all around; someone is a design pro! The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms huge, the chairs comfortable for a long sit. We had a waterside(aquaside) King suite. Perfect for couples, romantic and lovely. This was our 4th hotel on vacation and so far, our favorite. Worth the drive to Riviere du Loup-which is a quaint, architecturally interesting town and has great shops and restaurants. A gem!

« En route to the Maritimes »

Our stay was fantastic and a perfect stopping point between Toronto and Halifax. The hotel is almost brand new, the rooms pristine, the staff friendly and the view picturesque. We were upgraded as a courtesy without asking because of a fire alarm test that was starting after our departure! We would recommend it to anyone doing the same drive.

« Clean, modern hotel near the river »

A very nice, modern-looking hotel with many ameneties. Hard surfaces in the rooms, and big windows for a view, if you are on the right side of the river. The receptionist was nice and efficient, quickly checking us in (in English), and the express checkout (just tell her a checkout time, then leave the next morning) was welcome.

    5
    « Paradise! »

From the second i got at the door, i felt relaxed and well taken care off. The staff was so welcoming and the room was perfection! The best part is that this hotel doesn't smell like a hotel.. Just fresh and clean!!! Loved the hotel's restaurant! 1st night I ate on the patio.. Got this pork sandwich as recommended by the waitress and it was delicious. But the 2nd night, I ordered the sea food risotto! The best seafood I've ever tasted!!!!! This hotel is definitely my favorite spot! Loved every night dinning in front of those stunning sunsets!!!

    4
    « Near the river »

This very modern hotel/motel is rather different than the typical Best Western. The décor is super modern with lots of chrome and glass. The rooms are comfortable. The lounge has a great view of the river and the sunset. Service was ok but overly pretentious, in my opinion. Every other Best Western Plus has included breakfast with the room, so I was not very happy when I found that this one doesn't automatically include breakfast. Also guest laundry was assumed and was absent.

    5
« Very nice place to stay and relax »

Very comfortable hotel! Meals are very good! Service is excellent and very polite! You have spa pools to relax and prices are very affordable. Parking is free. Very accessible for wheelchair. Nice place to stay and relax.

« Fantastic hardware, short on attentiveness »

My husband and I came up from New York city to visit with my in-laws and spend the Mother's Day weekend there with them. This hotel was absolutely a must-have for us, and while it has Best Western in the brand, it is more like a Hyatt Regency. We got the top floor suite room which has two large rooms, quite nicely furnished out, and a very new galley kitchen as well. The bathroom is huge with a good shower. There is a jet tub in the bedroom as well. Bathroom amenities for the suite could use some updating, instead of the standard issue fruity smell tubes. But overall, the modern and clean look exceeds all expectations. Lobby is lofty as well and overall nice and thoughtful. I took my mother-in-law to the spa at the hotel. I should qualify by saying that I am an Asian American woman from NY city, and mother-in-law is from Quebec, but a senior citizen. She came here on her own a few times, with fond memories including the resting lounge where she could get some tea and almonds and recover slowly. The spa treatment was OK. Afterwards, I settled my mother-in-law in the lounge while I went for a shower. When I came back, she said she was sorry that the two masseuse told her that they only had green tea today, and ran out of almonds. My mother-in-law loves almonds! So when she left for her shower, I opened the top drawer to get another tea bag. There, I found jars of almonds, and an opened bag of almonds. I was irate! Just because she is a senior citizen an I barely spoke French, doesn't mean I didn't tip a squarely solid 20% and she deserves a complete experience. When I went back to the front desk and wondered if I should express this to the woman with my broken French, I decided TripAdvisor is a better forum. The woman at the front desk is frostier than the winter in Quebec. Maybe it is rare to see an Asian woman up here, but wear that surprise subtly please. As for my wonderful mother-in-law, she enjoyed her time with us nonetheless. I just wish she had gotten her almonds. She will be there again, and please make sure she gets what she likes.

    « Very satisfied »

Very modern room and facilities. We have stayed here twice and will continue to stop here on our travels. While the indoor heated pool is small, we had it mostly to ourselves. Very nicely decorated. Free Wi-Fi and refrigerator in room was a plus.

    « Absolutely Fabulous! »

I can't say enough how great this hotel is! I wish all my business travel brought me here! I am planning to return for leisure this summer. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They helped me with everything I needed and I was well taken care of. The food in the lounge was excellent and the wine list is very favourable!

« Perfect for a stop while on the road »

This was a great casual hotel. We needed a place to stay while driving through; staff was fantastic, room was clean, it was inexpensive, and it was everything we needed! We went to the little bar, and we were happy with the service there as well. Staff warned us that we were down the hall from a hockey team, and if we needed to be moved, just come back and ask. I heard them in the hall, but in the room - not a peep! Slept very well!

    « Manager Went Above & Beyond »

I booked a reservation here through Air Miles and neglected to notice it was not a pet friendly hotel. Totally my error. The manager called Air Miles and found out their system was down and they couldn't help me. It would have cost $60 to cancel our reservations. She called the pet friendly Comfort Inn just down the road and got us booked in and said they would work it out between them and not to worry about cancellation fees. She was so gracious like it wasn't a big deal but it was a big deal and she totally made our day. Just had to share this with my complements to the hotel manager.

    « Great stopover in Rivière-du-Loup, Québec »

On our way west from the Maritimes, we decided to stop about halfway in Rivière-du-Loup. There is a large choice of hotels in the city and a range of prices but I decided to go a little up-market and chose this hotel based on reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel has been fully modernised and refurbished to a high standard of decor. The look is of a boutique hotel rather than a run of the mill Best Western. The room was very comfortable with great beds and a great bathroom. The dining room was excellent with a great menu.

This has been our third stay and once again we say it is our favourite . Third time the charm as they upgraded us to a suite. Another great spa stop; massage and the spa treatment much fun. The restaurant is very good as well. How to spend a snowy day...just relaxing .

    « Beautiful Surprise »

You do not think great modern design and chic dining when you think Best Western but that is what you get at the BW Levesque. We are often tempted when passing through to just stay at any place with a bed , but I am so glad I decided to read the TA reviews and book in at this hotel. It is a lovely experience with great decor, comfy beds, quiet rooms and a restaurant that makes you feel like you are "dining out" with a varied menu and beautiful surroundings. There is a small pool and exercise room if you need to unwind as well. The staff were patient and welcoming of our efforts to speak French. My only "needs improvement" note is that for the price point and promise the chef needs to be sure of the quality of the dinner items- overcooked halibut was disappointing. But when you are hungry and enjoying the evening , you get over it. It could be just a one- off mistake. And you know Rivière du Loup is a scenic place worth more than a stopover visit- note to self.

    « Snowmobiling paradise ! »

My wife and I booked a room here last weekend based on the positive reviews from TripAdvisor. We rode from snowmobile from Maine, the trail was groomed right to the parking lot. Signage to hotel was excellent and we were pleasantly surprised to find the secured snowmobile parking under the hotel. Once inside we were amazed by the modern updates they offered. We felt like it was more like upscale hotels we've stayed at in NY City and Boston. The room was comfortable and we had an amazing view of the Saint Lawrence. We chose to eat dinner in the bar vs the dining room as we were in casual attire. The bar was very nice with a pleasant bar tender, some slot machines, and served a full dinner menu. The next morning we ate breakfast in the dining room and the food was fresh and incredible yet at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through town, especially to the snowmobilers as it offers everything under one roof. We look forward to bringing others back with us next year (:

Really beautiful hotel facing the St Lawrence River. The exterior of the hotel is surprisingly modern looking. The lobby is spacious and has a touch of refinement. The staff are very polite and courteous making check-in swift and painless. The rooms are spacious, the lighting is slightly dim but the large windows let in a ton of sunlight. Great place to stay!

Beautifully decorated, modern decor, clean rooms, spacious bathrooms. Far beyond expectations for a small town hotel. Absolutely stunning. And, the beds are the most comfortable ever. Staff are great and the service is next to none. Recommend it without reservation (well, make a reservation, though!).

    « Great place »

It was a short 1-night stay. The hotel looks awesome on the outside, nicely finished with LED lighting, lots of parking and space and well lit. Inside has got a boutique feel to it with one of kind chandeliers and finishes. Room was well laid out, big walk-in shower, windows floor to ceiling with a fantastic bed. I will definitely come back and tell all my colleagues and friends about this place.

« Best hotel in RDL »

We stayed at the Hotel Universal on the way to NS, and at this BW on the way back. What a difference! This hotel is fantastic! So clean, modern and luxurious. Very very reasonably priced at $106/night for two doubles. Huge soaker tub in modern washroom was a treat. Conveniently off the highway. Breakfast not included but we visited a great little bakery down the road that was much better than a continental! Probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in at a hotel. Highly recommend this hotel.

« Most Bizarre Hotel Experience Ever »

This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I never made it past the Front Desk. As we walked in yesterday evening, sleepy children in arms, we were not received with a greeting but rather a very nasty- "The hotel is fully booked". We proceeded to explain to this curt greeting that there must have been a mistake. We had paid in full and had a guaranteed reservation from Best Western. I provided the haughty gentleman who had made this greeting with a copy of our reservation. He then said "We are not Best Western. You should have called the hotel directly. They gave us this reservation too late. You probably called America when you booked". I looked at all the signage that said Best Western and then peered around to see if I was perhaps on some kind of Candid Camera. I watch Just for Laughs. This had to be something like that, right? But no, the strange man with the giant handle barred moustache & the name tag Frank got more annoyed that we continued to stand there after he had already told us he had given away our prepaid room. No apologies. He proceeded to clarify that we don't know how to book hotels. "You should only ever call hotel directly" he said. And then walked away. We called the 1-800 number from Best Western while still in the lobby. This really annoyed Frank. The helpline customer service rep proceeded to call Frank and explain how reservations work. Frank refused to answer these questions with anything resembling logic. Finally the exasperated Best Western customer service person took me off hold and explained that both he and his supervisor had tried to talk sense into Frank and had not gotten far. He said there wasn't much they could do now that the hotel was fully booked and Frank had given away our room. He said we would be receiving a refund. And that was the end of our weird interaction with Hotel Levesque. But all I can say is if Frank is representative of the customer service standard at this hotel I would suggest staying far, far away from it.

« This is a very nice Hotel - a surprise on our trip hoome »

Stopped here just to break up the travel and were surprised with the decor of this BW Plus. The "Bird Chandeliers" in the lobby are impressive. The room was likewise well decorated with nice amenities and lighting. A great place to stop.

« Bright and airy hotel along the south side of the St. Lawrence River. »

We stopped to see if there were rooms available after getting off the ferry. What a lovely surprise to see how beautifully renovated this hotel was. Bright and airy reception area and lounge, updated rooms with nice bathrooms.....everything about the hotel was pleasing. Had a really upscale feel to it! All the staff were super friendly, suggesting restaurants and sites to visit on our short stay in Riviere du Loup.

« Modern Hotel with easy access to Highway 20 »

This hotel has been fully renovated in the last couple of years. The rooms have been updated and are furnished in a contemporary style. The lobby is a very attractive open space with a bit of a view out to the St. Lawrence. The bathrooms are very nicely done with modern fixtures and showers. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very quiet. There is a restaurant on site if you wish to eat in the hotel - note that breakfast is not included in the room cost. Lots of parking is available. The hotel is an easy three to five minute drive from a major shopping area on Blvd de L'Hotel de Ville where stores, restaurants and gas stations may be found. The staff is friendly and bilingual. There is a spa and indoor pool available - spa treatments usually have to be booked.

We stayed here to break a trip to the Maritimes. A beautiful view of the Fleuve, a comfortable, clean, well appointed room. Although we didn't use them this time, there is a spa, gym and pool. The breakfast included was very good and the service in the resto was very good and very friendly.
