« Excellent location for central Reims »

This is a great hotel from which to explore central Reims. The front desk check-in process was very efficient. Our room at the rear of the hotel may not have had the best view but it was certainly quiet and comfortable. Given the room rate, I was a little disappointed that soaps and gels were dispensed from wall mounted bottles, such as you find in a Travelodge but, I guess, in this age of environmental awareness, it makes sense. My advice - take your own bathroom toiletries. Breakfast is good and with a wide choice. At €17 it's a little expensive so make the most of it. My only criticism is that in the evening they have a tendency to play the music (if that is what it was) in the bar at such a level that precluded conversation except with your immediate neighbour. This is, no doubt, to attract the younger element into the bar. Those of an older age and without the passion for rap and similar modern musical genres, have to escape to the seating area outside the bar to avoid it.

« Good town center location, »

One of the most efficient hotels in champagne. Location is perfectly right in the middle of Champagne. Room is very comfortable. Toilet is one of the most spacious I'd ever had in this class of hotel. Service is quite sufficient. If you don't need pampering service, this is the right hotel for you.

« Très bel établissement au centre de Reims »

Best stay in Reims very near to main city spots Perfect services : easy parking - Kindly welcome The right place for business meeting or family party Amazing crowded bar with top services Nice and wide rooms

    « Reims discovery »

Location excellent, comfortable, rather clean, but missing bathrobe and slippers, pool and sauna is nice. However putting the fitness next to the sauna is not a good idea. Breakfast as usual in most hotels, horrible. Just go outside to have breakfast. There are some excellent affordable places.

« Decent hotel, great central location »

The location is the key selling point here, the rooms are fine, the service is as expected and the hotel looks fairly up to date. The location right in the center of town is great, we had a room on the courtyard, which meant it was nice and quiet. You can walk anywhere from here and we went all over town for dinner and to visit the different champagne houses (get a driver for this). Only two notes, the central air system doesn't get the room very cool (it was Sept but still quite warm). And the safe contained items from the previous guests staying in the room, which should have been caught by the staff when servicing the rooms between guest stays. They were copies of passports and credit cards (basically everything needed for ID fraud), which we turned into the front desk for disposal.

    « Great location »

Super Best Western Hotel. Hotel parking was under the hotel, so there was no issue searching for a spot. The room size was adequate. I would categorize it as a normal chain hotel room, but the decor was modern and clean. The beds were comfy and we were able to adjust the room temperature, which was wonderful with the change in weather conditions. We were able to walk to the city center. Stumbled across a concert featuring the French group Judy in the library. It was a wonderful surprise. We could see the beautiful cathedral as a backdrop to the free concert. Able to easily find places to eat within walking distance. Would definitely return.

« good location but little tired hotel »

Hotel had good location in down town. Rooms were good size but little bit worn down. The toilet didn´t flush well and room was not so clean. The breakfast disaster! We stayed 3 nights each morning there was nothing to eat! Lots of staff and they were just walking around the breakfast room doing nothing.

« Perfect Location A+ and lovely hotel »

Stayed here as part of a Motorcycle trip we were taking around France. Fantastic Hotel, friendly staff, very clean and great location. Its within walking distance of most of the town which is on you doorstep where there are plenty of bars and other places to eat if you do not wish to stay in the hotels restaurant for dinner. Rooms are spacious and very clean and we had a roof window to look out over the town which was nice. We went for dinner in the restaurant downstairs adjoining it, food was well priced and excellent really couldn't fault anything about it. Hotel bar is amazing with an extensive champagne list (you have to while in the champagne region), very up market bar and great at night, quite lively. There is a garden in the middle of the hotel if you wish to sit outside away from the music, or when it is sunny. Underground secure parking for the bike, which was great think it was about 24 euros for the night. Highly recommend a stay here.

    « Fantastic Location »

Location of the hotel is fantastic! very near to many restaurants and bars and just right at the central of Reims. all within walking distance. Room had a city view, coffee maker and desk for business. Very suitable for business travelers. Bathroom and toilet was connected and there is a bathtub too. room comes with a safe. overall room was nice but because of the location, i would return to stay. just one thing to improve, housekeeping came too early and i was still in the room.

« Convenient location, clean rooms & competent staff »

Hotel de la Paix is a well-run, mid-level hotel that is centrally located for getting everywhere in and around Reims. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. The staff was helpful in booking reservations for dinner at the hotel AND at other restaurants, and attractions like champagne cellars, and giving guidance on getting around.

    « Perfect location! »

Perfect location for this town. Can walk to many areas, shops, restaurants and more. Also local Champagne houses in town, you need a reservation but fun and informative. Rooms were spacious and nicely appointed. Lovely lobby, note this is garage parking and a charge for that.

« Best Western at it best! »

Stayed here during two day business trip to Champagne. Once on trips like that you don't stay much at the hotel and use theirs amenities however once checked in I discovered that bar and outside sitting area were just perfect after trip from London. Champagne tasted even better there. Simple but stylish room. Onsite pool and small gym with sauna made it a nice addition to the whole experience and to start the day. Good selection of breakfast dishes and which more important - very tasty and of high quality. I would highly recommend and if I ever come back - I will for sure stay here again!

    5
    « Perfect hotel & staff! »

Perfect place to stay in Reims. Perfect location. Perfect staff. Perfect service. We drive to Reims directly from the airport and upon arrival ( and a grueling drive), we immediately felt welcome and relaxed on arrival. Thank you all for your assistance and service....especially the young man who helped me at check-in, and various times during our stay (front desk manager, perhaps?)

« Excellent base for Chamapgne hunting with a few unexpected extras. »

Hotel de la Paix is an excellent base for anyone doing the Champagne tours, which can recommended as great fun and a great way to taste many Champagnes and buy some real bargains). It is well located in the centre of town and with excellent parking. So many places to eat are within easy walking distance (useful if you have tasted a few too many samples) and it's own restraint is also pretty good. Our room was in the front of the Hotel, but we did not get much noise from the outside bars etc. even with the window open, as most are round the corner. The room was a reasonable size, clean and fairly basic but with an excellent bed. Bathroom also clean and well maintained with adequate but no frills. Breakfast also pretty good with hot and cold food available. Again, nothing fancy but of good quality and food to suit all nationalities. The facilities are clearly optimised for short stay business and touring custom; where convenience and good nights sleep in a clean room is the prime requirement. These are met very well. But there are some extras you don't normally expect in a City centre hotel. Such as the indoor pool and fitness centre, and quite a large and elegant courtyard space. These lift this Hotel well above the average. We have been regular visitors to Reims for many years and so far this is the best base we have found and will be there next year too restock the cellar.

    4
    « Best Location »

It is located in the middle of Reims. Walking distance to every attractions as well as restaurants and bars. Patio is very nice and the bar seems to be popular with the locals. Good choice of champagnes. Breakfast average but good.

    3
« Good, but could be MUCH better »

We were told this is one of the nicer hotels in Reims, but we had many easily corrected issues. No shampoo or conditioner; no wash clothes. Kind of like the shower room in high school. The multi-purpose soap was attached to the wall of the shower. Room air conditioner was woefully inefficient. Windows open caused you to hear the bar crazies until 1:00AM. The room décor was IKEA on steroids.

    3
    « AVERAGE EXPERIENCE »

This hotel is very well located, but ensure you do not have a room at the front I was given, despite requesting a quiet room. There are bars below the hotel that are noisy as there are many young students in Reims. It is a plus point having a good car park right below the hotel and excellent spacing, and lift access into the hotel itself. The hotel needs to let customers know in advance that the entrance to the hotel is at the side of the hotel. Staff were not that helpful, with no one offering at any point to assist with our luggage. The wifi does not have a very good virus protection and my laptop became a victim after of only five minutes of using this and not able to use for a week now until taken to a computer shop to fix. Best Western seem to have revamped these rooms and hotels to a very clean basic and nice standard, but again beds here are quite hard for anyone preferring soft beds.

    5
« Great Location and Value »

We had a great stay, spacious modern room, very close to restaurants, helpful staff at an affordable price. Nice patio attached to the room to have a sundowner drink or enjoy a coffee in the morning. Great breakfast, very affordable.

    3
« Nice room but extras are a stinger »

Modern well appointed hotel. Public areas and bedrooms are very stylish and spacious. I guess being in a city you expect to pay more and 14 euros for parking was acceptable in a very clean spacious garage under the hotel. However 40 euros to have the dogs in the room with us was too expensive and much more than we paid elsewhere. Reception staff were friendly. Had a corporate feel and would be more appropriate for business trips than us on holiday with dogs!

    4
« Still a good place to stay »

we have stayed here many times and it is still a good place to stay. Central, clean, good breakfast and very helpful staff. Not many gripes, the main one is that as usual the only socket, suitable for plugging in the kettle, is above the bedside table with little room for cups etc. The other thing is, lots of TV stations in any language you care to name, but only World, CNN and one other news channel in English. Sad I know, but sometimes it is nice to have a bit of English TV when you are getting ready to go out!!

« Perfect location in Reims »

One of the bonuses with this hotel is that it has underground parking. It's also on the main Place D'Erlon with lots of restaurants but is also close by to some of the larger champagne houses should you wish to visit. Having visited this hotel about ten times over the past eight years or so, I noticed that the reception and public areas had undergone a recent facelift. Unfortunately the rooms are still the same; nothing wrong with them, but just starting to look a bit tired. Overall spotlessly clean though. The best thing about the hotel is undoubtedly the location.

    4
« City centre - great champagne bar »

Our second stay here and a great hotel for a stay in the centre of Reims. Rooms are clean, comfortable and modern, staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast is good (but additional cost). The seafood restaurant attached to the hotel is good and popular so make sure you book. The champagne by the bottle in the hotel bar is a fantastic selection at very, very competitive prices.

    4
« Quick overnighter in Reims »

Hotel looks very nice from the outside and is well located within the city. Easy reachable by car from Paris and a good location to explore the region. Reception staff was very accommodating and helped with luggage and wifi code right away. Evening staff was fast in issuing a new key after i left it upstairs and needed a new one. Rooms were very nice and clean. Good standard Best Western property. Bathroom large and well equipped and shower had a nice pressure to it. Bed, slept perfectly. Breakfast was good and had all you need for a business hotel. However, and here I dropped the 5th star, the service personal was very impolite. I was traveling with Asians who are not the most fluent in English and they got barked at when it took them a second to figure out their room number. All in all really good place and I'd recommend it as a business hotel in Reims.

    4
« Very good place to stay in the centre of Reims »

A very convenient place to stay right in the centre of Reims with easy car parking. We had a very nice room - quite spacious and with a comfortable bed. The whole hotel was very clean looking and well decorated. Very good breakfast with lots of choice.

    5
« Modern Hotel in the heart of Reims »

Position perfect in the pedestrian Centre of Reims, our room was clean and spacious. Icing on the cake was the Bistro Restaurant which was an excellent addition to the Hotel since our last stay there. You can sit outside in the wide pedestrian boulevard and watch the world go by with a coupe of Champagne. Had lunch inside and the food was excellent and reasonable.

    « Wonderful 2 night stay »

Stayed here for work. Rooms were very spacious especially considering we were in France. Lobby was very nice. Great location right in the middle of Reims. The bar was great! Rooms were very elegant and clean. Service all around was very good. And parking was easy. Very happy with the stay!

    4
« Good base in Reims »

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Taittinger. The hotel is very well located in the heart of the city and is clean and modern. The size of the pool was a bit disappointing - more a plunge rather than a swimming pool - but no complaints with any other aspect. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. Well worth trying.

    4
« Good access for wheelchairs. Can recommend »

Hotel is well situated in the town centre. Onsite parking 14EUR per night. Breakfast is very good . Fantastic courtyard inside. The rooms for disabled are good although there is a strange rule that the rooms are limited to max 6 pillows. Fortunately this was not an issue. The bathroom is good for wheelchairs eg the basin is low and the shower is a walk in shower. The toilet does have one descending rail. On leaving we were asked about the disabled facilities and we advised them to get another hand rail by the toilet and make the door to the room easier to open as very difficult to push open for a disabled person. Pleased to say that they were very receptive to our suggestions. Not the cheapest EUR170 per night but all in all can definitely recommend as so much better than any of the other Reims hotels that claim to be disabled friendly.

« Great Base to explore the city »

Stayed here for 3 nights during a Champagne tour to Reims. We had a double privilege room which was great. Larger than your average European city room with a fantastic bathroom, having large separate shower and bath, with robes and slippers. Bed was very comfy and there were tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. We had breakfast each morning which was good quality and choice. We only used the bar not the restaurant but found that to be a great buzzy atmosphere and all the staff throughout the hotel spoke good English and were always very pleasant and helpful. Great central location and within a hop skip and a jump of loads of restaurants. Would definitely recommend for a trip to Reims.

    4
    « Great location , friendly staff »

Stayed two nights as part of a road trip around Northern France, lovely location close to the centre of town near to a good choice of restaurants and within walking distance of the sights of Reims. Room was as expected of a hotel of this grade and staff helpful and attentive. Parking 14 euros per night but nice to know that the car was safe under the hotel. Smallish pool and spa area but as we were the only ones using it this was more than enough.

    « Very Good Accommodation »

Clean, efficient, nice size room, good slightly firm mattress. However, no help at arrival with luggage, must make parking reservations in advance or else park across the street in multilevel building with very narrow spiral lanes. Not enough lights in room. Over all, quality experience, friendly staff, central location to various sites.

    4
    « Surprisingly good »

Checked into an European 3 star hotel after a long time having been spoilt in Asian hotels. Offers very good value for money , compared to muffin and a coffee bfast at most places the bfast is quite good. Gym works and has a small pool with a hamam Centre of town with plenty of options for food in the street. Walking distance from station

« Very convenient and functional hotel »

We enjoyed our three night stay here. It is convenient. The staff was great. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Room was large and very enjoyable. There is a lovely outdoor patio area. We enjoyed the adjoining cafe. Ate there all three nights.

    5
« Ideally placed for exploring the city »

This would probably be described as a business hotel but it suited my wife very well when we were in the city on 2 seperate days this week. Really short walk to Cathedral, Champagne maisons and good eateries. Gym on the small side but each time I went I was alone so no problem there :)

    5
« very clean, spacious and well located »

This hotel was booked for us by a tour company. It is very clean, spacious and well located. I usually do not think to stay in this brand hotel in the USA, but it is perfectly acceptable here in Reims. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    5
    « Great position »

The hotel is very impressive and modern. The room was very clean and just about big enough. The staff are very much on the ball, and were very helpful. But the best thing about this place is it's position. Perfect for the town centre.

    5
« Where better in Reims? »

Great location, helpful staff and nice rooms. Convenient for all central attractions with good facilities, quiet areas if required and truly helpful and friendly staff at a competitive price. A couple of years since our last visit and they have retained their best features plus underground parking.

    4
    « Consistently good service »

We stayed in this hotel several times over a twenty year period. Our accommodations and service was consistently during each of our stays. This time we stayed in the largest room on the fifth floor in the old wing facing the pedestrian mall. We did not hear any noise from the street since we did not sleep with open windows. The rooms were renovated, clean with new fixtures. Our room was really well set for a single person on a business trip. With a little rearrangement of the furniture we managed to have a six nights stay as a couple. To understand a possible shortcomings of the accommodation one needs to keep in mind overall hotel standards in France. For french standards, the room was big with a separate toilet and shower. And in a new wing the rooms are larger but not as newly appointed as our room was. Towels are not changed daily, so one needs to request a fresh set of towels or slippers for the swimming pool and sauna. The room service is also unpredictable if you not not plan to be away from the room entire day. However, the staff is very helpful and every request is immediately attended and addressed in a timely manner. The breakfast is included in the room price and has a very good selection of food and drinks. The courtyard across the dinning room provides a nice setting for enjoying morning coffee a little longer. The business center was out of order, but again the staff was very helpful allowing me to use their computers. The hotel has its own restaurant which is a step better than the surrounding eateries. The menu was mainly on a seafood side and since we were there during a very hot weather we did order any of their specialties.

« Hotel de la Paix hits the spot ! »

We chose the Hotel de la Paix both on the way out and the way back for our motorcycle tour to Switzerland ... and they offer a fantastic central location and parking for the bikes. This is our third visit and they have consistently offered a really welcoming and friendly service ... ever when you turn up in leathers ! The location is ideal ... being very easy to get to from the motorway and only a few feet from a huge selection of restaurants, sights, shops and chocolate outlets !! For the quietest rooms ... go for the seventh floor at the back ... lovely views and peaceful nights. For a treat - walk the (very) short distance to the train station and take a day out exploring the champagne houses in Epernay ... VERY enjoyable !

    « Reims Central Location »

This Hotel and its Staff are fabulous, whoever said the french aren't warm and welcoming with a sense of humour are sadly wrong (oh that was me!!:)) The Hotel was positioned just off the main eateries in reims and had competitive onsite parking and an excellent restaurant.

    « Good hotel »

This is a good hotel, stayed here with my wife, toddler daughter and my mum and dad. The hotel is very central, walking distance into the city centre and only 2 minutes from many restaurants and 5 minutes from the cathedral. They have underground parking with quite a few spaces, it's well lit and secure. The bar has just been refurbished, though I haven't tried it because it only opened today! We had use of a temporary outside bar which was fine, and they have some outdoor seating in a central courtyard, which was nice. The pool is a good size and is clean. They also have a steam room and sauna and a very small gym. Breakfast is fine - we avoided it the first morning due to some bad reviews on here, but tried it on mornings 2 and 3 because we couldn't deal with not being able to get sausage and eggs in town! There is a good selection and the quality is fine. The staff happily provided high chair for baby and nice coffee soon followed. All 3 generations of the family found something they liked and it set us up for a good day out. The property is well maintained and clean throughout. But the best thing about his hotel is the staff on the front desk - they were extremely helpful. Over the course of 3 days I badgered them with all sorts of questions about restaurants, large champagne houses, small champagne producers, taxis, changing bookings, map Directions, calling places that didn't speak English etc and they happily obliged. They made the holiday really, and my family got experiences that they would otherwise have not enjoyed, had the hotel staff not been so helpful. Suggestions for improvement? We had two rooms and I was a bit surprised they were not adjoining. On check in, we were given one room and had to wait one hour for the other one. A couple that checked in after us were given the adjoining room - I don't know why. I was also asked to surrender my car keys upon check in, despite the fact that my car wasn't blocking anyone in. It probably has something to do with some people parking their car inconsiderately in the basement and the hotel wanting to shuffle cars around to maximise space - but I felt uncomfortable with the request and I refused. However these are small opportunities for improvement on an overall great hotel. If I stay in Reims again, I will definitely stay here.

    4
« Comfortable and well located »

We used this hotel for an overnight stop on our way to Switzerland and it was perfect for the purpose. There is parking just across the road if you don't want to use the the hotel facilities and there are many restaurants within a few minutes walking from the front door. The cathedral is five minutes away and it is right in the middle of the shopping district. We found the room quiet, well appointed and the bed comfortable. It is a typical medium-high quality corporate hotel. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and helped with a map and tourist guidance which got us off to a good start

    4
« A second vist, it won't be our last. »

We used this hotel as a stop=over on our way back to the channel ports from Alsace. Since we stayed here a year ago, there have been some changes - in particular, the bar is currnetly undergoing refurbishment. We stayed in a room on a higher floor this time and enjoyed the view that this afforded. It remained comfortable, clean, and well soundproofed. We particularly enjoyed the luxury of a stand-up shower - something that shouldn't be taken for granted! Breakfast wasn't included in our deal this time, but it was certainly no hardship to pop round the corner in to one of several cafes offering a morning repast. The staff in the hotel remain courteous, efficient and friendly and I reiterate my advice of last year - book a parking place in advance, you won't regret it.

    4
« Comfortable hotel in Reims city centre »

This has all the facilities of a first rate hotel and is directly in the city centre. Having stayed at other Best Western hotels I was pleasantly surprised at the standard here. The rooms are a good size, extremely comfortable and meticulously clean. There is a pool and underground parking, which is charged extra. Unfortunately the restaurant was a little disorganised - but we were a large party of 50 or so, so we forgave them. There was a temporary bar rigged in a marquee as the main bar was being refurbished. This was not a success as we had a gigantic rainstorm during our time there and access was from outside and in the tent the sound of the rainfall was deafening! But all in all, this hotel is highly recommended.

    5
    « Recommended »

Ideally situated in the centre of Reims. Lovely rooms, professional staff and underground secure car park. Breakfast is a bit pricey but other than that could not fault it. Recommended. We hope to return at some point.

    4
« Good hotel, centrally location with parking »

There are many reasons to stay at the Hotel de la Paix: It has a fantastic location within walking distance to sites and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable, modern and clean. We lucked out and had a room facing the back where it was quieter (we happened to be in Reims on the evening when France's football team won against Germany and the crowds on the street were wild into the middle of the night). And there is underground parking! This was very important to us since we were driving with a classic car. Tip: book the parking space when you book your room, as there are limited parking spaces.

    4
« Nice upscale hotel in a great location »

Overall, a very nice hotel. The location is very convenient to the main drag in Reims, great for walking, people watching, and grabbing a meal al fresco on the strip. Short walk to Notre Dame de Reims (cathedral). The central courtyard is lovely, framed by a gothic facade on one side, with a nice drink list and good service. The room we had was quite small, a bit of a surprise given that this isn't Paris. My only other gripe is that they were not able to offer parking, which is hard to find in that area of Reims. We were told we needed to call and reserve parking ahead of time. However, we were able to arrange parking for the 4 days at a public multistory/garage right across the street. You'll need some one who speaks French to negotiate this as the garage personnel do not speak English. But Euro$24 for 3 days parking was a better rate than the hotel anyway.... If you're planning on driving to Reims, call ahead for parking if you're staying here. The concierges were excellent, and managed to arrange dinner reservations and cave visits/tastings early for us.

    5
    « Surprisingly good! »

We thought this hotel was truly excellent. It is very central with many good testaurants within a short walk. The staff was warm and welcoming and were happy to make any reservations required. The room was spotless and had every amenity including a great shower. There is a delightful courtyard in which to enjoy a pre- dinner drink or nightcap and the breakfast was fabulous. There is also secure parking which made using a city centre hotel very easy. We thoroughly recommend this hotel and will certainly be using it again.

    4
« Nice hotel, centrally located »

Liked this hotel for it's central location, it's modern style, medium sized rooms. The staff couldn't have been nicer- particularly Betty at the front desk, who went the extra mile in helping us. The minus- breakfast is not included- extra charge is 15 euro per person, per day. Parking is also a little confusing. There is parking lot across the street, plus the hotel has it's own small, reservation only parking area. You really need to do a little research to figure out which is the best deal. At first, the 14 euros per day at the hotel's parking looked good, compared to the parking garage at 18 euros. But (at a helpful hotel employee's suggestion) we asked the parking garage for a two day rate- which came in a much better deal than the hotel. All things considered, the price is a little high for the hotel room, as well.

« Fantastic -Vincent is the best! »

We visited this hotel en route from Provençe back home to the UK via the Channel Tunnel. On arrival I went in to ask about parking and was greeted by the most superb member of staff in hospitality I have ever come across... Vincent, one of the receptionists.. He was the most helpful, intelligent and aware person we could have wished for - a credit to the industry. We took the top-box off, parked underground and the hotel kept our top-box in their left luggage room. Without asking, Vincent took our luggage to our room too. So, we went up with our dog too. Great room for the three of us and the dog. The only down side was wanting to order a bottle of wine in the bar... They refused to serve us! What! I pointed out a couple who had wine and was told they had champagne and that's all you can order by the bottle... Crazy. Ridiculous hotel policy... Change, you need to, otherwise guests will just bring bottles with them and not spend money in your bar. Breakfast was typically French but the scrambled egg and bacon were dire. You need to promote Vincent! We will be back ( bringing our own wine though!)

the entrance is nice. However, i dont understand why the dust is several inches thick on the coffee machine so i don't want to even think about the bed covers because i am pretty sure they weren't freshly washed. the bathroom looks like it hasn't been cleaned for a couple of weeks. the hotel was TERRIBLE. ALSO: they have pipe problems. the ground floor and garden smell like there is a sewage problem. i hope they fix it.

« Amazing two nights - can't wait to visit again! »

We stayed in a deluxe room for two nights on the fifth floor overlooking the courtyard and with a fabulous view of the cathedral. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Extremely quiet and restful with a central location that allowed easy sightseeing and shopping! Very surprised at how big Reims is and would love to spend more time there.

    « Location Location a plus ! Hotel a plus ! »

Hotel was fantastic, it was in a great location, close to everything, it had secure parking which was a plus ! Hotel is renovated, beautiful courtyard for morning or evenings! Staff is great, helpful and very accommodating ! Language not a problem ! We received great information from staff on sightseeing options ! They booked for us various champagne tasting ! Rooms were great !

« Great hotel in the heart of Reims »

Good room, very good service and a great location. The hotel was quiet even though it is in the centre of town. The pool and sauna are brilliant - small but clean and in good condition. Many good restaurants within walking distance and the hotel breakfast was delicious (and my daughter loved the Coco pops!) 5 minute walk to the cathedral.

« Great location and service »

Stayed here for a girls weekend and visited the champagne houses. Great location to get to all the popular ones. Hotel has nice rooms, right on the Main Street and has a nice pool to relax by. Good breakfast selection and good restaurant and bar. Perfect city break

« A rather nice hotel in an excellent location with an aloof service »

We stayed here in two rooms in August 2014. The hotel is easy to find. Parking is a bit of a problem. We did book a parking space in advance. Alas, it seems regular (French?) customers have priority. Our space was gone and we had to park across the street. Proved to be cheaper as well. And you don't have to bother the aloof concierge/ front desk. As said, the very French (English is somewhat of a problem in this hotel) staff was in no hurry to check the details of our reservation. But once found they granted us our rooms. The rooms are very nice with a contemporary design. Reasonably spacious with a separate sitting area and bedroom (divider). The bathroom is large. There is AC and a good reception of WiFi. The view is on the inner courtyard and, over the rooftops in the far distance, of the Cathedral. Breakfast was adequate, food from room service was well prepared and came with nice extra's. Al in al a run of the mill hotel. If staff would be a little less distant and absent it would be a great place to stay. At this moment it looks as if they tolerate guests.

« Acceptable hotel for a couple of nights in convenient location »

Picked this hotel due to location and it is certainly very convenient for the station and for walking around the town. Also close to many bars and restaurants. Pictures on website a little confusing as they seem to show a view from the inner courtyard rather than the front. Reception staff were very helpful before and during check in. The room was fine and quiet at night with good aircon (1st floor overlooking the front), but wondered afterwards whether it might have been better to have upgraded. The bath had a shower over which worked OK, but the space would probably work better with a shower only. The décor in the room and the corridors was a little dark and gloomy. Nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room, but 2 tea bags is a little mean. Wifi was a bit unreliable in the room. Breakfast was buffet style with very attentive waiting staff and was perfect for us so no complaints there. There was a temporary bar in place due to refurbishment. We were going to try it, but we didn't like the ambience of the temporary tent style structure and the restricted drink choice. Perfectly good hotel for a couple of nights stay (and you are out all day), but not sure I would want to stay for a longer break. Did not try the hotel restaurant but it looked nice.

    « Great sized rooms! »

This hotel is very "westernised" in the size of the rooms. Beautiful ensuite facilities and wardrobe storage. The hotel itself has great facilities with the pool and gym along with the courtyard bar. Breakfast has a great selection of foods to choose from. Definitely recommend!

« They are not in a hurry to assist »

Hotel under construction, clean, 15€ breakfast fair to average. Arriving at the train station I fell and severely hurt my elbow, bleeding everywhere, etc. got to the hotel & asked the front desk to call a doctor, that took 2 1/2 hours. Dr. was great. Departing ask the front desk to call a taxi to assist me to get to the airport, waited, waited, went back in 3 times asking for assistance, 'have a train to catch', The 3rd time he said 'oh well, better start walking'. With a busted elbow I had to carry a suitcase down cobble streets. Missed my train, missed my connection in Paris...

« Good location, good hotel, good weekend. »

We chose this hotel due to its cancellation policy and its proximity to the town centre. Check in was efficient thanks to a very friendly receptionist who couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was available and was exactly as we expected. Modern comfortable and with all amenities, comfy bed, contempory bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower. Large flat screen TV, aircon, mini bar etc. We were on the first floor at the front of the hotel. Saturday night is quite busy in Reims but we didn't find it too noisy. WiFi was a little sketchy in the room, far better in the hotel lobby. Aircon was nice and quiet but not the most efficient. Hotel has a small pool, fitness centre, Sauna and Hamman, we used all the facilities and had them to ourselves despite the hotel being fully booked. Didn't use the bar or restaurant Reception booked a Champagne House tour and taxi for us and advised us of a few "must sees" Really helpful. We would return

    « Very nice hotel »

This is a really nice place. Rooms are great along with the staff. The only thing I would not recommend is the breakfast, not brilliant and a otter too expensive. However this is a great place in a great location which I have stayed at a couple of times now.

« Good Visit to Reims »

Hotel de la Paix was a perfectly acceptable hotel. It's about what you would expect from a Best Western in the U.S.--maybe not a 4 star, but a decent sized room and bathroom with air conditioning, wifi that worked and a minibar. Breakfast downstairs had a good selection and was convenient since we were being picked up at the hotel for our tour. All the staff spoke perfect English, and the hotel was located in close proximity to many restaurants and shopping spots.

    « very good location »

We booked this hotel for 2 nights. Before we arrived, they sent mails concerning special wishes. we felt really welcome. We made a reservation for a parking space in the hotel. I was really happy we did this, because I felt really safe (the car was stuffed with wine and champagne). We had a nice room (3persons superior). It would have been nice to have a small terrace. They were rebuilding the bar, but they had a temporary bar in the garden. This was really well done! Only dissapointment were the cold eggs in the morning, but that's it! The hotel has a very good location. We will certainly come back.

    « Wow, so bad! »

Wow, This is quite a bad experience here: Arrived to hotel in a rental car, parked in front of hotel to get our suitcases out. We could not get out as there was no exit from the entrance, so after we were told there was no available parking backed up and went to parking garage across the street. Talked to front desk about what the issue with the entrance is and instead of apologizing were told this is not a car entrance and started questioning us. Worst arrival experience! Rooms are subpar, smell bad, very small. location is quite bad for Reims as the street is quite shady and really low class bars and cafes are on that street, you forget you are in the Champagne region. (Agree 100% with Canvazz on this one) Highly recommend against staying at this place.

    « Very good »

Really good hotel and wouldn't hesitate staying here again if we are in Reims. Great parking facilities (although not free), good breakfast which for Europe is rare, superb location and really helpful staff. The guy on reception even ring Tattinger for us to book our champagne tour. Recommended.

    « Not quite a stone's throw...! »

The official description suggests this hotel is closer than it is. However, from our large comfortable room with balcony overlooking an internal courtyard, we could see the towers of the Cathedral and had a pleasant short walk there. We stayed one night on our way through France. Easy to get to, a pleasant large frontage in a cobbled street. We were told to drive up to the garage door to the right of the main entrance to be let in. The entrance is spacious; I found the internal architecture a bit tricky, and got lost coming back from the pool, a map would help! The internal decoration is interesting, theme seems to be African Savannah, on our floor animal paintings and wide corridors with floor cube lights. The room itself was divided, so the entrance and table with chairs not visible from the bed, worked well for in-room breakfast. Modern bathroom with great bath, with hand shower; door through to walk in shower and and separate loo. The restaurant was OK for us, given choice of courtyards or inside to eat. Food was fine, service quick and efficient. My only disappointment was the pool area. Situated in the fitness area, small changing room with lockers which need a Euro( hotel info tells you towels and shower there, but not that a Euro is needed...). Have to walk past the machines to get to the pool, which was warmish. OK for a swim for exercise but not inviting, has a liner not tiles; one end is mostly obscured but can be overlooked from a bar area, just seemed odd. I never did find the shower, went back to my room. Overall, was perfectly OK for us, a safe bet,but not stellar.

    3
« Central location - dull room and no feel you are in Champagne »

It was OK. The hotel's location is great in Reims. In the middle of the town centre. A happening ground floor bar. Dull, almost clinical room. Has all what is expected but it is...dull. The bed was a bit tired. The bathroom large and clean. The internet reliable and OK. Not very engaging for being in the middle of the Champagne region. Nothing local about it.

    « Great hotel »

I loved this hotel for giving me more than I expected. The room (mid-level) was bright, air conditioned, good wi-fi, roomy (separate seating area from bed area) and an attractive bathroom with the shower and toilet closed off with a sliding door from the sink and tub area. Separate tea, coffee maker and mini-bar area. Plugs near mirrors so you could dry your hair outside of the bathroom. The room divider held a large TV that could swivel around to the bed or the sitting area. The buffet breakfast was delicious and well worth the price. Staff couldn't be more helpful. DEFINITELY RESERVE PARKING IN ADVANCE.

    « Respite in Reims »

Hotel de la Paix is centrally located....walking to all historic sites from here is doable but also the location provides access to many brasseries and restaurants in close proximity. Did their breakfast once---very complete and would easily carry you through to dinner---but we prefer to just have coffee and croissant in one of the many street cafes nearby. The hotel also provided lunch for the meeting which was held there. Excellent! Never ate in their restaurant, but assume it's the same food preparers. The front desk was very courteous but slow to respond to a room maintenance issue---also printed out boarding pass without barcode which proved to be a huge hassle, so watch for that. Since this hotel is the midst of all the action, noise on the front of the hotel might be more than desired. The hallways and rooms are designed to keep out noise so it is quiet on all the floors, it's just the streets. I would ask for the back side which is quieter and has a sweet view. Also, of you get upper floors you should be able to see the Cathedral etc from that height. I would think this hotel could be a top choice for the area, especially if you can manage a slightly greater price and ask for a larger room. We didn't and are regretful---friends did and said it was perhaps the most comfortable they've been in any European accommodation. ---I thought that was impressive.

« Great location and friendly staff »

My husband and I have just enjoyed two nights in a Deluxe room, and can't recommend this hotel enough. What is everyone complaining about?? Positives: - location is excellent, right in the centre of town and 50 yards from main pedestrian thoroughfare. - clean, sleek modern lobby and corridors. - equally sleek and functional bedroom. Well laid out to maximise the floor space. Nice big bath and separate rain shower. - large, comfortable bed. On the hard side which suits us, but obviously not suited to all tastes. -friendly, helpful staff at reception, particularly Clemence. - discounted parking in the city car park opposite (24hr security). Negatives: - none Overall: We found this hotel to perfectly suit our requirements of being central, easily accessible, and providing a comfortable environment. We did not use the swimming pool, gym, restaurant, or eat breakfast so cannot offer any insight into these. We would absolutely stay here again and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Reims. On a side note, we walked to the Basilica and Champagne Houses, it is only about 20 minutes so no need to drive out as some have suggested.

« Excellent hotel, top location »

Very nice room (Privilège), bathroom with shower and bath. Friendly and helpful staff, easy check in/out. Bottle of champaign (Canard-Duchêne) was served in the room upon arrival, as ordered. You can leave your car in the garage during your stay for only 12 € extra. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice of fresh products. Top location: cathedral, bars, restaurants and shops at walking distance. You'll need a car to visit the maisons the champagne in the surroundings, although top locations Pommery, Mumm and Veuve-Cliqot in the city could possibly be reached by public transport. We had a very lovely stay in this hotel, the city and its surroundings! One thing though: used champaign glasses, bottles and coffee cups were not removed from the room when cleaning it.

« Great room and location »

We stayed in a deluxe room and were very happy with the size. Large bedroom and bathroom with a good separate shower. Very comfortable bed. Good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Has an indoor pool but we didn't use it as we had great sunny weather. Close to the Cathedral for the excellent sound and light show at 11pm- a must do! Would recommend the hotel and very clean.

    « bad bad bad »

no parking, no staff who know what they are doing, tiny room for the money you pay, just somewhere i will never ever stay again, needs a total refurb and new staff. very dated and the wifi is slowest on record

« Excellent location- fine hotel »

What a fine time we had in Reims. Hotel offered inside parking in the lower level. It was across the street from a small mall which offered both a supermarket and a coffee shop which saved us about $20 a day. We had coffee here every day rather than spend $15 each at the hotel. Right around the corner were 2 city blocks of restaurants with every type of food offered. The city itself is just a short walk from the hotel and the main road is just minutes away. They even suggested a doctor when my wife developed a severe cough

    3
« Excellent parking and that's about it »

We chose this hotel simply because of the secure underground parking. It was well located in the centre of reims. Small pool, sauna and steam room and the tiniest "gym" I've ever seen - basically 4 bits of equipment in a small corridor between the pool and the changing rooms Room was very very small - hardly any space to put luggage. Bathroom lighting was awful - not recommended for putting on make up Windows didn't have good glazing so could hear all the road noise at all hours. Would only stay here if your desperate for a parking space

    4
    « Great bathroom »

We had a classic queen room which had updated decor, comfortable bed and a great new bathroom with a separate toilet. There was a door that could be opened out to a small balcony. We were overlooking the street. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the train station and close to an area with a lot of eating places. We did not have breakfast so I cannot comment on that, but based on our room I would definitely stay there again if I ever went back to Reims.

« Nice hotel , well located, quiet sleep »

We had a business meeting with +40 participants in this hotel. All was well arranged. Friendly and helpful staff, very clean rooms , and good sleeping quality. As renovation works are going on , the bar is in a temporary place , but is a fine place to be. Food and supplies during the conference were fine. Easy accessible , parking available and right in the center of Reims. Unfortunately the conference room had a low ceiling and was only just big enough for our group. Not possible to open the windows for a long time because of the noise of the street , would be better if it was located on the other side of the building. Also the lift was very slow . Wifi could be better, you had to start it up again and again (no memory of user and password) - could be improved.

Lovely hotel with great staff and location, i was on a trip with my work to visit some champagne house.would definitely stay here again. The hotel was under construction but was still maintained very well.

« Excellent location for seeing Reims »

Stayed here for 5 nights as our base for exploring the region. Hotel was extremely comfortable, staff friendly (especially the ladies running the breakfast room) and extremely conveniently located. The bar was under refurbishment during our stay, but we never once bothered by any construction noise. The hotel has created a temporary bar while the work is carried out, and this is fine - in any case there are plenty of other options for a drink just outside the hotel walls! Would also recommend Cafe de la Paix (the hotel restaurant) for a good - reasonably priced - bistro dinner. We would stay here again.

    3
    « A mixed experience »

After parking opposite, we made our short walk to the hotel entrance. Quite grand and impressive, despite the lack of a doorman to greet us. Check in at reception was rather "functional" with no interest shown in our stay. No too bothered about this but I always think that first impressions of a hotel are a good indicator of what you are going to get. And that proved to be true. Room on the third floor was rather basic, with cord carpet and Formica furniture. Nothing "Best" or "Plus" about this room. More like "Travelodge". Toiletries were non existent and tea/coffee supplies were pathetic. I wanted to complain or at least change rooms but my wife was feeling unwell so she insisted on just putting up with it. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I ventured to the bar to find a nice sitting area staffed by two non-smiling barmen who struggled to make eye contact. As it wasn't busy I was able to get their attention to get a beer whilst I went through my emails (the internet signal was very weak in the room). We needed a taxi to travel out that evening and I made an advanced booking which arrived on time and the driver made arrangements for the return journey which he was on time for too (impressive for a Saturday night). Breakfast was ok. The room was quite large and noisy, but everything was available and service was fine. English speaking receptionist booked us out and she was very pleasant and genuinely enquired about our stay. She was clearly disappointed when we said we found things "ok" and she didn't follow up on why we weren't more obviously pleased. Overall, an uninspiring stay and I couldn't recommend it others based on our one night stay. Many other reviewers seem to think differently, so maybe we just stayed in the wrong room on the wrong night.

« Spacious and modern rooms »

This hotel is well placed right in the city center of Reims, though easy accessable by car as well as by train as the train station is only 1 km far. Inhouse parking place are available. The hotel offers WiFi, inhouse swimming pool and meeting room facilities, the later only useful for smaller groups. The breakfast buffet is typical french, the restaurant offers international food at good quality. Best are the spacious rooms - though as the hotel is placed in the center, you might keep the window closed to avoid hearing the noise from the street. Very good service overall!

    4
« Excellent central location with big rooms »

We upgraded to the bigger room and it was great. Stayed two nights and the staff we very helpful and amenities good. Ate in the restaurant one night and had great seafood. You can park underneath which is very convenient. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

    5
    « Excellent stop over »

We booked this seeing reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The car park is worth paying for even if the spaces are a bit challenging for larger cars like ours! Our room was on the top floor of a new block that faced the cathedral over a road at right angles to the main hotel. We were delighted with it. The view was sensational and the room clean and comfortable with new fittings and a walk in "wet room". The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The only disappointment was the coffee provided in the room. It tasted awful and the only milk to add to it was in two minuscule sachets one of which had already been used by another client. Presumably this is done to encourage caffeine addicts to rush down for breakfast! We declined and instead went out of the hotel to the right. At the roundabout turn left and on the opposite side of the road (Place Drouet) after about 50 yards is a small cafe (istanbul) selling a wonderful French breakfast for about 6 euros.

« Potential need to be cautious »

I usually wait a few weeks before posting a review so that I can reflect on it better, however, I'm doing this sooner to help other travelers. There are limited lodging options in Reims and I'll have to admit that walking around the Hotel de la Paix seemed like the best option for in-town Reims. On the plus side, we had a superior room that was large enough to spread out during our 2 week tour. We also had a balcony overlooking the courtyard which was also pleasant. They also offered underground parking which was very convenient as we had a car that we used to do the Champagne Road and also other visits. Neutral was the desk service. We found the women working the front desk to be very helpful and welcoming while you were lucky to get a glare from the men working there. The big negative is noise. At the present time the hotel is undergoing significant construction INCLUDING DEMOLITION. Also the bar is part of the courtyard and has outside seating while being open until 2:00 a.m. The situation is you hear noise from the bar until late night and then wake up early to construction including a jack hammer breaking up concrete. No where was this explained to us when we booked. Both the hotel and the flag - Best Western - should note this on their booking sites as I have seen done in other places. The construction may be temporary but having a late night bar with in hearing of upgraded rooms seems to be permanent.

    « Excellent location »

Lovely, clean hotel with good rooms. We had booked the deluxe suites and they were great. Kept very clean . Good facilities but the best thing is the central location. We booked parking at the hotel and never needed the car for the rest of the trip.

    1
    « Disappointing »

You have to drag your bag upstairs to enter hotel!!! Travelling for 5 weeks our bags weigh 20kg each but they are awkward. Major construction underway & staff do not care that the noise of drilling above your room is disturbing to say the least! Breakfast!?! I appreciate the French do not eat breakfast but when we are paying for it you expect a certain standard. You'll be fortunate to find much to eat as the staff don't restock often this includes glasses etc. preference seems to be given to French speakers as they were able to get fresh coffee instead of the stewed version sitting on the buffet. Room is a comfortable size with separate shower. Soap on tap only, no body lotion or vanity kit provided. 1 complimentary bottle of water for 2! There is only 1 lift to service 11 floors including ground & -1.

« Perfect modern hotel for a trip to the champagne caves »

Reception a little surly and a minute WC, but apart from that a great central town hotel (and a great deal through trip adviser!). Wonderful in-house restaurant. Recommend it if wishing to visit the champagne region.

« Great Location, Great Staff, Great Rooms, GREAT Stay! »

Not the easiest hotel to find but it is perfectly located for those who want to dine, see the Our Lady Cathedral and Archbishops' Palace Museum, and the WWII Surrender Museum. The staff is exceptionally helpful...the facilities are elegant and top of the line. One tip: be certain to reserve parking at the hotel when you book a room...else you park across the street in the "mall" parking lot, which is a bit of a hassle...

    3
« Good city centre location »

to find, although my satnav wasn't fully up to date with one way streets around the tram routes. The hotel was full when we stayed and I was told that the car park was full, even though I had asked for a parking place when I booked the room. To be fair to the hotel they did let me into the car park to see if I could find a space. Some of the parking spaces were seriously tight but I managed to find one with some reasonable room between mine and the next car. Our room was quite large and well laid out with a King Size bed. The TV could be fully rotated between the bedroom and sitting area and the bathroom was nice and big with a good shower room. Being at the front of the hotel it was a bit noisy from the street in front. The hotel is situated quite centrally with lots of restaurants and bars close by. The Cathedral is only a short walk away. Breakfast was disappointing all round. The breakfast room looked dated and not too clean. The food and service were ok but not great . Reception staff were helpful and friendly.

    5
    « Room with a VIEW »

So just as many others have done, I read reviews over and over trying to find just the right hotel sight unseen. I'd only driven here and stopped for lunch so relied on TA. Thanks to all the honest reviewers! It really was reasonable walking distance which mattered as storms threatened, and the taxi driver didn't want to get out of line for a short trip. Check-in was friendly and flawless. And right now I'm sitting in my bed looking at the Cathedral when I lean about 4 inches! Who could ask for better? The room is tastefully done and quite current in a clean lovely way. And my adult son loved unwinding in the pool after walking and tasting. I look forward to returning. Oh, and the Cathedral is easily just a ten-minute walk. Hint: Room 825 has a view of quaint old rooftops and the Cathedral. And there's one-day laundry service.

« Excellent hotel with a central location »

My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed this hotel - the hotel has a fabulous location near the city center with numerous shops, restaurants, bakeries, etc all within easy walking distance. Our room was large with a comfortable sitting area. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was a good size and wifi was provided. The colors were a bit garish for our taste but everything was immaculate and in excellent condition! The only 2 small negatives were ongoing construction in the core patio area - the noise was not evident from our room but was intrusive in the lobby and bar areas - and the horrible wine served in the bar (this is a champagne town - if you want wine - beware - the red wine they selected was truly hideous). Bottom line - an excellent, well-run hotel. We would not hesitate to stay there again on our next visit to Reims!

    4
« Location is what sets it apart »

Together with a great central location 10 minutes way from the Cathedral, the hotel offers a secure underground car-park which is an asset for car tourists. We had a Deluxe room on the top floor with a King bed, offering plenty of room and all amenities including, unusually, both a bath and a shower. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which fronts to a street to the side, but with a separate entrance for hotel guests. We thought the menu seemed better than many of the rather 'touristy' restaurants/bars in the surrounding area (although we did not explore far) and the food and service were quite adequate. Reception staff were courteous and helpful. The only negative was the free Wi-Fi (in French it's apparently pronounced to rhyme with Fifi) which like some other hotel establishments has adopted a log-in system requiring the input of your e-mail address; this itself is no more than a mild irritation, but became a problem when it gave rise to constant difficulty in getting on line. This niggle apart, fully recommended.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Reasonably priced. Classic room decor nothing really special or original but very comfortable, great location and overall excellent hotel. We cannot judge breakfast, we had to hit the road. Recommended for more than one night stop. Hotel restaurant is OK for one simple dinner.

    « excellent location »

Fine hotel in the center of the town. All sites within walking distance. Helpful staff and parking available on site. Restaurant row just around the corner. Clean room and rather roomy. Easy to reach from highway. Our room was very quiet so we slept well.

    « Good location »

This is a well appointed and very comfortable hotel in a good location, close to the old part of town. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and it is also close to the main rail station. A good base for visiting the champagne region.

    « Central »

Very decent business hotel, very centrally located. Excellent restaurant, nice wine bar. The rooms were fine, the service solid. Being centrally located was key. Garage on site or a public park across the road. Good place. Would go back...

« Right in the city centre. »

Very comfortable room on the 9th floor with excellent view over the central part of the city and the cathedral. Very helpful staff who spoke excellent English. Parked our car in the underground carpark at a daily cost of 14 euros. Well worth it for a one night stay. Extensive breakfast selection.

    4
« Comfortable modern city centre hotel »

Stayed for two nights with a colleague in two rooms, excellent service throughout our stay. Rooms were roomy with all the modern conveniences required..The buffet breakfasts were excellent with a good choice of offerings. A very pleasant Champagne Bar and again quite modern in design. We had dinner one evening which was very acceptable and enjoyable. Would recommend booking a parking space even although they are quite tight !

    3
« Nice rooms but terrible Internet »

This hotel is nicely sited in downtown Reims. Parking is easy and reasonably priced. The rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast is ok, but nothing special. The Internet is very very slow. Wireless coverage was spotty. Overall, a reasonable value.

    4
« Good position near main attractions »

Took a group touring in France and in the Champagne district this hotel in the city centre of Reims is always a good choice. Position is excellent and a short walk from the Cathedral, shops and some of the city centre Champagne houses. Best rooms are in the newer block, these are "Privilege Rooms". Quite spacious, modern furnishings, a large bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Soap dispensers are quite awkward to use but otherwise very comfortable. The breakfast room has been improved since last time, breakfast is a simple but adequate choice. Staff are friendly and for those with cars there is underground parking (which needs to be pre-booked) or the large multi storey opposite. Without doubt this is the best choice in central Reims.

« Not sure why the high reviews... »

Our experience at this hotel was average - not great, not bad. We would stay at a location nearer to the Champagne houses if we were to return. You could walk to them, but it was around a 20-30 min walk. We did that both days because we like to see the various neighborhoods. The room was ok, bed was fine, bathroom was clean - but nothing that sticks out as particularly great. We arrived around 11am and although the hotel did not seem very busy, we had to store our luggage as our room was supposedly not ready. When we were ready to leave to go to the train station (about a 10-15 min walk), we asked the front desk to call us a cab since we had all of our luggage. They called us a cab and we waited for 15 min...and were getting nervous about missing our train to Paris. When we went back inside, the front desk person said, "oh, didn't you know - that happens all the time" and called again....then told us it would be a 20 min wait! Her attitude was that she couldn't care less and she should have warned us the first time....we ended up running to the train station bags in tow and almost missed the train. SO, know that it is hard to get a taxi from this hotel and/or you will wait for it!! We didn't eat here so have no knowledge of the food options.

« Best Western Plus Reims »

A great location for all the family very close to the centre for shopping and for restaurants and entertainment. The hotel has only on drawback for the business person as do all hotels the lack of power points for the many gadgets which people have. A simple solution might be a fourway extension lead with outlets and two usb. Breakfast is a simple buffet of fruit, meats hot and cold and pastries along with a chose of juices and coffee and tea. Well worth a visit just a stones throw from the vineyards of Champagne.

« Good hotel, fantastic service »

The hotel is very good as I would expect from a Best Western hotel. The room we have is spacious and the bar is fun. Food is good (well breakfast is all we had) but the staff are wonderful. My partner's mother left some luggage at a previous hotel and Aurora, who works on reception, was fantastic in helping her get the luggage back. She went out of her way and nothing was a problem. That level of service is unusual these days and was tremendously impressive. I highly recommend this hotel, mostly for this and specifically Aurora, but also for the rest of the hotel and especially the location (it is very central).

« Great experience as always »

Friendly, professional, proud staff. Great facilities and comfy rooms/beds. Good amenities and brilliant location right in the centre of the town where all the restaurants/cafes are. Good breakfasts included and rooms very comfortable.

    5
    « First visit - excellent »

Stayed for 1 night and was very impressed. Friendly staff, rooms are excellent and very clean. Champagne bar lovely and bar staff are very entertaining. Will definitely stay again. The newly refurbished restaurant is fantastic.

« Friendly, comfortable, good location »

Was staying here whilst visiting a few champagne houses in the region, good location as a base for the area but also centrally located in the city of Reims. Very good service throughout the hotel, bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was again very good with plenty of choice.

    3
« Convenient, good base for touring Champagne »

This hotel was "just fine" - and I don't mean that in a strongly negative way, but in a "good place to hang your hat" if you're touring the Champagne region and need a convenient place to sleep and nothing more. We got a very reasonable Internet rate and I think our rooms were smaller because of that - at least the space between doorways further down the hallway looked spaced much farther apart than ours, which were located closest to the elevator. A nice feature was a door that you could close between the entrance hallway & your sleeping area, which blocked out most hallway noise. Skip breakfast here - poor quality and over-priced. It's easier and more satisfying to grab some pastries just down the street. Front desk staff was helpful when asked.

    5
    « Comfortable & Convenient »

This is a large, modern hotel, conveniently located in the centre of Reims. We had stayed before and were happy to return with friends. It has a secure underground car park, which is worth booking in advance. We had booked deluxe double rooms, which are very spacious, modern and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed, sitting area with sofa and two tables with two chairs at each of them. The bathrooms have a large bath and separate shower. On this occasion we had rooms overlooking the courtyard, which were much quieter than the rooms overlooking the street at the front of the hotel. The bar hasn't changed - it is still busy and noisy and still has no list of champagnes by the glass, which seems strange in the capital of Champagne! Staff were all quite friendly and helpful.

    4
« Central Location in Downtown Reims »

Excellent Location for exploring area. Walking distance with everything (cathedral etc). Good atmosphere. Were driving a car and had secure in an out covered free parking. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating.

    5
    « Excellent Reims hotel »

A one night stay but an excellent hotel with outstanding staff, particularly Vincent on check in. Superbly located in downtown Reims, close to all restaurants, shops, bars etc. Parking opposite too which was reasonably priced for downtown!

« Stay at Reims, France »

We stayed one night on our travel from Switzerland to the Netherlands. We were very pleased with the hotel, had one of our best dinners on our trip through Europe, and celebrated with a small bottle of champagne. Our challenge was finding parking in the middle of Reims and the hotel parking was not easy to find and no space was available in front of the hotel.

    5
« Perfect location to explore region »

2 night stay, rooms very comfortable and well worth the money. Great bar atmosphere in the evening breakfast buffet fresh and plentiful Check out very efficient. When visiting the area, will return to this hotel

    5
    « Good hotel!! »

We spent just one night there but it was a good experience . The staff was nice and everything was very clean. The room was big with the perfect view from the windows on the city center. The breakfast was cool, I have even found a free gluten bread there:)

    5
« Great hotel in great location »

We booked the hotel last minute for a short two-day trip to Champagne. It is centrally located and within walking distance from the cathedral and many restaurants. We really liked the modern and clean look of the interior. The room was very spacious and had everything needed. Wifi was free and fast. Staff were super efficient, very friendly and everybody was more than happy to speak English. The breakfast included all you would want and more.

    4
« Great for a short stay in the region. Very central »

Very nice, clean accommodation and within easy walking distance to the Cathedral. Shops, bars and restaurants are right on your doorstep. Rooms are well sized, comfortable pillows and duvet. Air conditioning temp about right and you can open your bedroom windows! It was a bit noisy at night with the window open onto the main road however. A nice buffet breakfast with cooked and continental options. I love the warm waffles! Lots of bread choices too.

    4
« Very nice city Hotel »

We stayed one night at Les Crayeres our first night in Reims. Then we needed to return to the reality of our budget and stayed at Hotel de la Paix for two nights. We booked a standard queen bed room and apparent were upgraded at check in to a slightly larger room. The bed was easily large enough for two people, and the room was a generous size city hotel room. We were in the eighth floor and right next to the elevator, but the room was quite soundproof. The rooms are furnished in a modern urban chic which may not work for everyone but was agreeable enough for us. The bathroom was nicely appointed. We had breakfast for two days. While it was not nearly as nice a breakfast as Les Crayeres it was half the price. The service of the staff worked well for us. For the central location and the price this is a very nice city hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Designed by man? »

This was our second time at HdlP and it was good to see that standards had not dropped since last year. The hotel is centrally located so you are in close proximity to the main bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and the Cathedral, but a bit of a hike to the champagne houses themselves. The hotel itself is clean, modern, functional and the staff extremely courteous and patient with our attempts to try our French - fortunately they all have impeccable spoken English when the need arises! The underground parking is an absolute godsend and for €14 a night, is well worth the peace of mind you get in return. The only slight drawback is the lighting in the rooms and no mirror in the actual bedroom area for us girls to sit and do our make-up properly. It wasn't that much of an issue last time we stayed, but this year we booked some smart restaurants and wanted to make a bit of an effort! But a minor drawback in what was otherwise a very pleasant stay.

« Fabulous Hotel in center of Reims »

This is an excellent hotel for touring this lovely city, going to Champagne Houses and being treated to a a great time by the helpful staff. It is perfectly located..our room had a view of the Cathedral which was amazing. We highly recommend this hotel.

    « Beautiful hotel! »

I was a bit apprehensive when my work recommended this place, since it was a Best Western. I was pleasantly surprised! They upgraded me to a superior room, and they were a very large size, similar to North American-sized rooms. I liked that they don't waste toiletries - they have large refillable dispensers, but still nicely laid out and elegant, not cheap-looking. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the train station and right in the centre of the city. The staff were super friendly, and they have a really cute courtyard to have tea and breakfast. There's also gym amenities, which can be rare to find.

    5
« Beautiful updated friendly hotel in Reims »

Our room was beautiful, perfectly clean, seemed very recently updated, bathroom had impeccably clean new fixtures. Shower with rain shower head and great water pressure and lots of hot water. Gorgeous new soaking tub. Breakfast was not included but nice sized buffet, all fresh items, good strong coffee, delicious croissants and pastries appeared freshly made. I do not usually like midrange hotels, having been spoiled by the premier hotels I have visited, but this hotel was almost perfect. I needed a washcloth, however, and they do not provide them. The bath sheet made up for any feelings of discontent! I look forward to another visit. I must add that the staff was friendly, helpful, welcoming, and tolerated my poor French with grace!

    « Good short stay »

Stayed here for one night in April 2016. The hotel is well located within walking distance of the city center and the main sights. We had a large and comfortable room, nothing to complain about there. Good short stay overall.

    5
    « Always Fantastic »

I have stayed at this property many times and it is always superb. Why? Perfect location in the center of everything; big modern bathrooms/showers; great garage parking; wonderful breakfasts and, lastly, a great restaurant attached to the property that doesn't close in the afternoon! Yes, this property has it all, not to mention English speaking staff that are incredibly good (and nice).

    5
« Wonderful experience for English speaker »

My wife and I stayed here for one night. The staff speaks very good English. The hotel is close walking distance to many attractions. The only thing I would say negative is that they failed to say the total price to park with tax. 4 1/2 euros extra, But not a big deal.

    3
« Good hotel close to city centre and Reims train station »

The location is very good. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The service staff are courteous and friendly. Overall, a good place to stay in Reims. Nothing exceptional though but nothing wrong either!! Wifi needs improvement and the signal strength was not good.

    4
« Great city centre hotel. »

Stayed here overnight whilst visiting Reims. Room had everything one needed. Good sized en suite with a good shower. Plenty of storage space. Tv was only really available in French, an English movie channel would have been handy. Lovely bar in the lobby, very trendy. Good buffet breakfast available with everything one would expect to find. Hotel has a pool which is a nice attraction.

    4
« Lovely hotel, great central location »

Actually stayed in February 2015 with my boyfriend, for an extended weekend. The rooms are amazing, lots of space with a lovely bathroom - separate bath and shower. The location is fantastic, right in the centre and extremely easy to get to all of the champagne houses, as well as sampling the local food and night life. An easy walk from the train station. We drank in the hotel's own bar most nights as the cocktail list is great and the bar staff make a massive effort to keep you entertained. We'd also booked the wrong number of nights and the staff went out of their way to help us out. Will definitely stay here again.

« Not good value for money »

I paid 181€+15€ breakfast for one night room (one person), parking 14€ a day. The room was quite dark even it was a 4th floor and just when entered the room and went to the bathroom, I realised the WC was not clean AT ALL and a shower cup (already used of course) was holding from a mirror stick to the wall. Thank God the bed linen was clean (it was the next thing I checked). And the end I cleaned it myself, and my fault for not complaining after all it was paid, but it was 9pm in the afternoon and I had a dinner meeting. Didn't have time and I was tired, it was a business trip. The breakfast was good though, to say sth positive. I do not recommend it.

    5
    « Lovely Weekend Break »

Lovely Hotel. Great location, clean and well presented hotel and rooms. Cool and rather popular bar. We had a deluxe room which was really nice with a little lounge area, tea and coffee making. Lovely bathroom with bath and separate shower. Large and comfy bed.

    4
    « Great lication »

This is a nice and comfy hotel that is really well located. Front desk staff was super helpful in helping me arrange transport, directions and reservations for Champagne houses in the little amount of personal time I had during a business trip. From the location, you can easily walk to buses, bars, restaurants and SNCF train station... Be aware-- taxis are stupid expensive in Reims so this is a key benefit. Another bonus was that they actually had a few English tv channels and decent in-room wifi which I, as a frequent business traveler, always appreciate.

    5
    « Perfect for what I need... »

When I travel for my job, all I ask is a place to have the chance to relax and work out. Not a big fan of gym, but I love to swim and I love sauna and steam room... In this hotel I found a real sauna (hot and big enough fro 3/4 people) and the steam room... The swimming pool is not huge but big enough to let me swim and have my routine. Rooms are clean, people at the desk has been always smiling and helpfull to give me all the answers I needed. Located in the city center, walking distance from the main cathedral and on the main street with lots of restaurants and pubs. Yes: I reccomend it!!!

    « Nice Hotel »

This hotel is in a great location surrounded by plenty of bars & restaurants. The hotel does offer parking but when I stayed it was full so was directed to the parking garage across the road which was in a small shopping centre with a supermarket & several other stores. The hotel is nice, clean & comfortable. The young man at reception even managed to get us on an English speaking Veuve Clicquot tour at very short notice.

    4
    « Good location for a night »

Reims was a stop on our road trip. We stayed here because of the location. The location is ideal to the city center. We walked to Mumm. This is a standard hotel, nothing luxurious. The service is good. Parking available undeground. Wifi also available in the rooms. Price is good.

    5
« Had a fantastic time at this hotel »

Well situated in the city of Reims. I can't talk this property up enough. From the guest services, the breakfast, cleanliness, the perfect night's sleep that I had after a couple of other hotels before we arrived to this one. We were checked into a room right next to the elevator which I wasn't so excited about, but we never heard anything from inside the room! I wish we had time to use their pool, but we only had so much time in the town. Their bar is fabulous as well. It would be a hotel bar I would visit on weekends if I were a local. This is the perfect hotel for either business or leisure. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family or whoever I hear that is on their way to Reims. This is not just another Best Western- it is a Best Western Plus- which does make a big difference. The staff was very accommodating and sweet. Thank you for a fabulous stay- I am looking forward to my return in the near future and I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

    5
« all you need from a city centre hotel »

Situated right in the middle of the city with secure parking there could be no where better to stay. Staff were superb and very helpful. We have stayed four or five times before and will definitely return.

    3
« Good location, excellent reception staff but the hotel misses out on the details »

Both in our room and at the pool, the soap bottles were empty. Granted that when I called at the pool someone came immediately but this should not be happening in a hotel of that level. A special note about the staff at the reception which I have to say was very professional and pro-active.

    4
« Lovely hotel - shame the restaurant was closed »

OK, should probably have realised that on New Year's Day, when we arrived, that not everything in this beautiful city would be open. Very nice welcome, an excellent room as is to be expected from Best Western hotels and an anticipation of the top floor Italian restaurant with views onto the cathedral. Alas, closed. We were somewhat irritated that we hadn't been told on arrival so wandered into a chilly Reims to find somewhere to eat. Didn't have to go far, some places were open but the one we chose is best forgotten. Might suit some tastes (basically a bar with tapas and other food but not inspiring). The chef may not have appreciated working on New Year's Day. We'd go back to the hotel and hope the restaurant was open.

    4
« Location, comfort, service, what else ! »

Ideally located in the center of Reims next to the pedestrian area lined with bars and restaurants of all sorts, a 10-minute short walk to the cathedral. Underground garage was full but there is a public park just across the street. Agreeable inner courtyard for a relaxing pause. Modern spacious room of good standard with a small balcony overlooking the pedestrian area, spotless, quiet, excellent bed, all amenities. Good lounge bar, a perfect place to taste champagne. Excellent friendly and attentive service. Minor annoyance: we had to take two lifts to reach the room with a long corridor in between. Definitely a very good choice in Reims.

« Charming Hotel in the City Centre »

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay in this hotel and will most certainly go back on a return visit to Reims. It has an excellent city centre location with underground parking. It's easy to get around on foot from this hotel both to shop, see the sites and to eat and drink. The staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms are modern and tastefully decorated. We had a super room overlooking the garden nicely decorated with a Christmas tree and lights, so very quiet. The bathroom is also well appointed with a spacious walk-in shower, and also includes a full-length bath. Being Christmas-time, the bar later in the evening was very busy and had a wonderful atmosphere. We were even treated to the barman juggling bottles and it was all very entertaining and lots of fun. Definitely recommended.

    « Best Romantic Trip »

Stayed for 3 nights in Deluxe room overlooking garden on 5th floor. Celebrated wedding anniversary late NOV at beginning of Christmas markets. Hotel staff and accommodations and restaurant all excellent. Nice pool with new dry wooden sauna. Location was premium. Monoprix grocery across road, Christmas market outside door. 1-2 mile walk to Champagne locations and Saint Reimy Basilica. Also really enjoyed Notre Dame Cathedral, nearby restaurants, and shopping. Spacious and premium room set up with walk-in shower and bathtub. Staff very knowledgable, accessible and helpful. All spoke good English and are hard working.

« Best pick for Reims »

We have visited Reims a few times and love going back to this hotel. It's situated in the middle of the centre, you can walk to all the various attractions of the city and they have a great patio where you can enjoy the weather in the morning

    5
« Lovely hotel, great amenities »

We stayed for 2 nights at this lovely central hotel in Reims and we were very happy with our choice. The rooms were lovely, comfortable and included everything we needed - and we took full advantage of the use of the hotel pool and steam rooms which were complimentary to guests. The breakfast was extensive and delicious, and the staff throughout the hotel were efficient and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

    5
« Luxurious Stay in a Gorgeous Region »

This hotel offers all one can hope for and more - English-speaking staff, superb rooms and dining, exercise area with sauna, pool, and clean parking garage. It's very close to the cathedral, which was our purpose in staying in the city, but we found that there are lovely places to shop, especially for champagne.

    5
« Central, smart and very French »

Has to be the place to stay in Reims! A five minute walk from the station and the cathedral. Modern, excellently appointed rooms; a good breakfast selection; and a good restaurant. Add to that, friendly staff who can cope with "schoolboy" French - what's not to like?

    4
    « Good solid choice »

Ideally located in the centre of the city round the corner from a pedestrianised street which is packed with a wide choice of eateries. No distance from the cathedral. Hotel has good sized modern rooms, looking out of the rear is quieter. Didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment, good choice at breakfast. Parking in public car pray directly across the road

    4
« excellent choice in Reims »

This was the first time I went back to this hotel since it was renovated, and I was not disappointed. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, overlooking the inside courtyard. The bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is gorgeous, including both a bathtub and separate shower area. The WiFi is free and fast, service is efficient and courteous, and parking right in the hotel garage is a bargain at just 14 Euros a night. The chapel turned dining room, if you have access to it, is beautiful, and the lounge remains a fun spot for a glass of champagne at night. The hotel is easy to access from the highway, and is convenient to the main sights of Reims. An excellent choice, even more so now that the rooms have been re-done.

    5
    « Usual welcome! »

We like this hotel, it's only a short hop from the South of England but being away with friends is always good and better when you know a reliable standard will be upheld. This trip involved 10 of us in total for the weekend which was washed out a little due to the weather and the fact we'd taken the silly decision in Mid October to bring the moto's! Anyway, bikes away and time for a swim. For once we actually found people in the pool, normally it's all to yourself but I think at one point there was 10 in the pool/sauna room. The usual welcome in the bar (thanks guys), few drinkies, bottles of bubbles then night on the town. Next day we ate in the hotel restaurant which has become a Saturday tradition, I had langoustine and large prawns just for a change... All very good, if you come by car or moto please remember to book in advance. Thanks Vincent, Vincent (yes, there is two of them), the bar team, restaurant team and all the rest too as yo make our stays such fun.

    4
« Excellent accommodation in Reims with spacious rooms at the city centre »

A five minute walk to the train station. Right next to the restaurant strip. About 15 minutes walk to Reims Cathedral. The only comment is that I wish the free bottled water was refilled on a daily basis. I didn't follow up with reception but had trouble communicating it to housekeeping in French.

    4
    « Wins on Location..... »

A terrific location. Right in the centre of town, a short walk from the Cathedral and close to any shopping you may want to do. Pretty standard City centre hotel. Good sized bed, separate bath and shower. Had a small gym and pool area, but not really for the fanatics! The bar is well known within the local community and is a focal point of the hotel. Mostly focusing on Champagne, a surprise I am sure. Would stay again.

    3
    « Just about okay »

Central but very small rooms. Even on the 7th floor, the noise from the street outside was disturbing. The staff were friendly and efficient and the restaurant surprisingly good. Also an underground garage. So some plus points. We chose a stay in Reims to break our journey back to England, but we would have done better to stay in the countryside.

  • 5
« Two nights in a beautiful city »

Everything about this hotel was excellent. It was modern had outside courtyard seating areas, incorporated older adjacent buildings into the structure well. The bedroom was of a high standard albeit one that would be similar to other high end city center business hotels. The bar area was well laid out. The restaurant provided menus that gave excellent choice with a wine list to match. The food was cooked to a high standard and the service at table was good. Breakfast was buffet style with an excellent choice. There was a certain amount of hot food but as this was not chosen I have no comment. Good service if required.

    5
    « Enjoyed our stay »

5 minutes from Reims station but safe area close to a lively part of town. We had a great room with a small balcony from which you could see the Cathedral. Nice shower room. We arrived early and they took our bags and suggested we came back at midday. Our room was then ready and staff ensured we got a room with a view

    4
    « Consistent service - comfortable room »

We were a little reluctant to stay at a chain hotel in Reims but the selection of better rated hotels was fairly limited so we choose the Hotel de la Paix and were not disappointed. Good reception, helpful staff, good hot breakfast and excellent central location were all very positive. We had reserved a deluxe room which had a nice balcony in the inner courtyard - comfortable and clean. If you are driving recommend reserving a parking spot in advance (which we did) as availability can be tight.

    4
    « Modern & Perfunctory »

Good size room with couch and sitting area, and especially large and modern bathroom. The only hotel of our trip that did not have heating and heated towel racks in the bath. Shower doors leak making the toilet wet. Reception was helpful in making hotel reservations before our stay, but was far less responsive once we arrived and needed to make changes on short notice. Convenient location. Underground garage was full the three nights we stayed, so we had to park across the street. We enjoyed the inner courtyard. Business center only allows 20 minutes of access to print boarding passes, so be organized to get it done efficiently. Wifi was extremely buggy and kept cutting off. Wifi log-in is unnecessarily complicated, only allowing one device per registered email address, so I needed to supply two different ones to be able to use my phone and laptop at the same time. The surrounding area was very congested on Friday and Saturday as citizens from the neighboring region came into the city to party.

    5
« Great location for exploring »

The hotel is a standard hotel; rooms are small but very clean and comfy beds. It is ideally located for exploring in and around Reims and not too far from the train station. The staff are friendly and the bar is a great place for pre-/post-dinner drinks.

    4
« Perfectly fine for business »

Rooms are clean and simple, wifi is decent, breakfast is nice with lots of options and its well located. The restaurant is the highlight - I LOVED the food there and the wine list, of course, is great.

    5
« Best Hotel in Reims, Great for a Paris break! »

45 minute TGV train ride from Paris l'est, Reims is a fabulous overnight break to experience a champagne maison tour and browse this art deco-designed town. Best Westerns are seen as hokey and low-rate in the USA, but in Europe, the brand is surprisingly premier. The hotel about 5 minutes from Reims station. The decor is quite modern and simplistic in design, and the rooms did not disappoint. Very clean and impressively large/modern bathroom to boot, our stay was incredibly relaxing. The room design is a bit quirky, some kind of brightly coloured jungle theme [lime green/raspberry accent decor/animal print artwork] could only be explained as very French... but the cleanliness, modern bathroom and overall amenities overshadowed the innocent quirks! Upon searching for champagne bars around town, I can say the hotel's bar was the best as Reims is not exactly a nightlife hub. Great champagne cocktails, chilled-out vibe and non-Parisian prices set tone for a great night out in this town [that has some quality restaurants to boot]. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing, premier stay in a town boasting a jaw-dropping cathedral, museum housing the likes of Rodin and Monet, fine dining and champagne galore. Reims has all the best France has to offer in a walkable radius!

    4
    « 4 stars plus hotel »

Very nice modern and clean hotel in the middle of Reims. Also has its own parking garage in case you are touring the region by car. The hotel is very centrally located about 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral and surrounded by several bars and restaurants. A very nice service is that they have bikes to rent so you can reach some of the Champagne houses on your own. The rooms are comfortable and very nicely decorated. Although the rooms are not that big the shower room is quite big proportionally speaking, which is very nice. Excellent experience overall.

    4
« Good hotel, but it lets itself down »

We have stayed at this hotel twice now. Once, back in April and more recently in September. The hotel itself is good quality and its location is fantastic. The hotel is situated right round the corner from the bars and restaurants and is only a ten minute walk from Reims train station, so very convenient for getting around the area. There is a swimming pool (which I did not use) and an underground car park. The car park is charged at 14 euros per night. The reception staff are 'reasonably' friendly. I came across a couple who seems very dismissive and almost seemed as though they couldn't be bothered helping us. The bar staff are friendly and very attentive. The bar itself is very modern and popular for those heading out for the night as a starting point. The rooms are comfortable and clean. However, I'd like to make two points. On our first visit, we had Prestige rooms on the first floor looking out of the front of the hotel. The air conditioning in the room is, in a word, awful! The rooms are very hot and stuff and as such we tried to sleep with the windows open. However, we were woken most nights by loud and drunk people coming back from the bars as well as cars and bin lorries in the morning. So, for our second visit, we opted to book Prestige rooms looking into the centre of the hotel. Again, we were on the first floor, but this time we had a balcony door leading onto a shared terrace with other rooms. There isn't a way to leave the door open and secured so that no one can enter during the night and as such, the door had to be closed during the night. The air conditioning still wasn't great, so we had three terrible nights sleep due to the room being hot and stuffy. The hotel provides "complimentary high-speed wifi." The wifi is indeed free, but it is not high-speed. It is possibly the worst wifi I have ever experienced and is so slow that we couldn't even send an email! We advised the reception staff of the hot rooms and the poor wifi, but nothing was offered or fixed. So overall, it is a decent hotel, with a good location and decent quality, but terrible air conditioning and appalling wifi!

Glad I read the reviews on here and stayed at the Hotel de la Paix. The room we got was lovely and recent refurbished - it served us really well throughout our two night stay. We used the pool - very nice, and took advantage of the parking, which was a nice thing to have! Staff were accommodating and helpful - only slight negative here was that we got a bit of a rubbish restaurant recommendation from one of the front desk staff...and heard him the next day recommend it to another couple... But overall very happy with our stay - would go again!

    « Frosty Reception »

We stayed in this hotel for only one night but with an incredibly mixed review. The rooms are clean and large enough, and the hotel is situated in the town center, only a few steps away from a boulevard full of restaurants. The hotel is modern, offers underground parking, and the breakfast buffet is very good. The restaurant attached to the hotel offered a decent dinner, which was marred by the waiter who picked up the dirty dishes and scraped the plates at the table. And the service of the hotel was disturbing. One of the staff members at the front desk got absolutely angry when we questioned leaving our car keys with them (our car was full and we didn't want to empty it for one night). The staff then refused to give us an extra towel, saying that the policy of the hotel was only 2 towels (1 bath, 1 hand) per guest. That was a first for me; we needed special permission so that I could get an extra towel to dry my hair! Another staff member was helpful in getting us a Pommery Champagne tour.

    « Modern central hotel »

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Reims. The hotel has underground car parking and is centrally located in Reims. There are lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance and a shop across the road. The rooms are modern, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is quite business like so if you are looking for character then best to stay somewhere else. The prices is not cheap but location is excellent as the rates do not include breakfast.

« One Night in Reims »

Meeting up with friends from Oz for one night. Flight delayed, missed train, very late arriving and missed lunch! Hotel was in the centre, staff very helpful. Sorted us with orientation, maps and general help. Within easy walk of cathedral, bars, restaurants and champagne houses. Room clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast fine. Organised an early morning call and a taxi for 7.30am which all worked. Would definitely stay here again.

« Truly deserving of its high rating in Reims »

My wife I decided to return to France for our annual anniversary trip, this time aiming toward Alsace, with an intermediate stop at Reims. We will be driving later during the trip, but just took the TGV for this leg (30 mins from CDG to TGV Champagne-Ardene, then a 7 minute spur rail train to Reims), then used a taxi to get us and our luggage to the hotel in five minutes or so (fare was 4.5 Euro, but the minimum fare is evidently 7). As others have noted in prior reviews, Best Westerns in Europe are of a different flavor versus those in the United States. The Paix is a very comfortable place for visit to Reims?with almost all plusses and close to no minuses as follows: 1. The hotel Is several yards away (turn right leaving the hotel) from Restaurant Row, a long street laden with eating options. And if those are not appealing, any zig zag route from the hotel to the Reims cathedral will have you running into many other nice options. 2. The front desk is friendly and helpful, patient with those of us who studied French more years ago than they care to remember. They are fluent in English, but don't seem to mind if you practice your French. I greatly appreciated assistance we were provided in contacting the Avis outlet in Strasbourg, our next stop on the trip, as we were going to arrive a bit later than the reservation had called for. 3. Very comfortable room?we opted for a Deluxe room, was on the 5th floor, looking out southeast toward the cathedral, whose tower tops we could see. Exceptionally quiet. Nice size, had a divider mid room which created a U shaped living space. Good room temperature control. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Separate bath and walk in shower with good temperature and volume of water, options of overhead rain forest vs. hand held spray. Soap is provided by push dispenser at the sink and shower, no little bottles of high end fragrant goodies. If you are used to washcloths and bedside clocks, the Best Western is at a European standard, bring your own. Room lighting is dreadfully poor, but then again, that also seems to be a weak point in most hotels, don't plan on doing any reading once the sun goes down. The chairs in the room are rather disappointing, plastic ones you might typically use at an outdoor barbecue?they did skimp on that. But they did have a built in luggage rack that accommodated two large pieces of luggage, a rare amenity. A small outside terrace was present but we never found time to use it. Terry robes and slippers are in the closet, where one finds the safe. 4. I have no option but to maintain regular internet access?and had virtually NO problems here. The speed and reliability of connection were fine for the most part, although on a couple of occasions the WiFi signal lost strength, thus ending up with speed close to 14.4 dialup, twice I got cut off completely. I noted others having mentioned being only able to have a single device connected to the WiFi at one time?so, I just made sure that once I fired up my browser, and entered the three digit hot-key number you must obtain from the front desk staff, I used different email addresses for each device. In fact, I get the sense that you could enter any email address, real or imagined, to get around previously mentioned limitations per user. 5. Right across the street there is an indoor shopping mall with a Monoprix, which means you can stock up on any groceries, beverages you might wish to have. The alimentation (grocery store) is down one level, very large inventory, always fun to see how many types of cheese exist in this world. 6. The Cathedral is an easy ten minute or so leisurely stroll from the hotel?which is nice if you want to partake of the phenomenonal 9 pm light show, though it had just ended by the time we had gotten to Reims. Lots of very nice retail stores between. 7. I had emailed the hotel prior to my arrival, asking a couple basic questions?the answers were prompt and friendly?only downside was overestimation of the taxi fare from the Gare to the hotel, and I had to re-contact them as they evidently assumed I would be taking a taxi from the Champagne-Ardenne Gare, rather than the vastly closer one at Reims?which also is probably no more than a seven minute walk from the hotel?but more than we wanted to negotiate with our luggage 8. On our first night we were pretty tired, so ate at the hotel restaurant, La Paix, separately reviewed?we thought the service and food were good and the pricing quite reasonable. We ate the 15E hotel breakfast on the first and final days, very airy dining area?more than enough options, as many have described earlier, but don't get your hopes up if you are looking for anything exotic. On one morning we ate le petit dejeuner at Les Gaulois, was 10E for orange juice, coffee, a croissant and a baguette with butter and jam?we decided that was simply too many wasted carbs to consume for breakfast! Bottom line, this was a five star experience for us, and we thank our TA predecessors for their prior reviews, as they sent us in the correct direction for lodging in Reims.

« Convenient for an overnight stay »

We stopped in Reims en route to Germany/ Austria for a one night stay. Normally I avoid Best Western consortium but decided to give this a go as very central and not a bad price for a double room. Initial impression spoilt a bit by a very unfriendly receptionist who made no effort to be pleasant! Parked the car in underground car park (€14 per day) and took own bags to room as no help offered or seemingly available. Room small but clean and adequate for one night which is all I would recommend.

    « Fantastic location »

This Hotel has a fantastic location right in the center of the city. They have secured parking under the Hotel which you will need to book (14 euros per night) but there is a public car park near by. Nice welcome at reception and everything explained about the hotel was nice and clearly done. The room was nice and spacious but typical decor for a chain hotel. Good sized bathroom but the down side is that they provide a pump action soap / shampoo (combined) in the shower and not separate items which you would expect of a 4 star hotel. The room was very clean as was the main areas of the hotel. Betty at the reception was a fantastic help during our stay getting information for us and giving us directions etc. A great asset to the hotel. Breakfast is your typical buffet affair, breads jams, cold meats etc. The hotel does have a swimming pool but can't comment on it as did not use as too much time spent exploring and drinking Champagne :-). Yes I would recommend staying here as of its location and not bad rooms.

« good location, nice rooms »

This property is located near the heart of Reims, so it's an easy walk to several nice restaurants, cafes and champagne houses. Our room was comfortable and the bath was fine, although the separate WC was hard to find in the dark at night :-). Breakfast was decent. Parking is very difficult; spaces in the underground garage are very, very narrow.

« Great central hotel with parking »

We stayed two nights after driving a long way and the receptionist gave us a very good rate. ( it was after 7 pm.) We parked over the road in the multi storey car park and was planning to bring it back to the undercover hotel one the next day but never did as they explained they would give us a voucher for the multi storey. ( turned out we only paid 5 euros for the 2 days where as if we parked in theirs it was 14 euros per day The room was clean, spacious and the bathroom excellent. Wifi was good, staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good but thought how big the hotel was could have given a bit more cooked options.( only scrambled eggs bacon and sausage) but if that is the only thing you have to complain about you must be happy.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

We stayed here for 3 nights and has been really good. In Australia, Best western are seen as just an overnight stay on a road trip. However, this has all the facilities and are kind at the front desk. Rooms are spacious, clean and perfect for exploring the city and surrounds. It's close to everything and you don't have to walk far around the city. We caught a taxi to Veuve which was about $10 Euro. You can then walk to Tattinger and Pommery and either get a cab back or walk 40mins back to the hotel. We decided to walk back and go past the cathedral. Might have been because we had a few champagnes that we thought this was a good idea! Nice hotel, thank you.

« Short Visit in Champagne country »

This is my 2nd visit to this hotel. Great location in the center of town and walking distance to everything. Rooms are small, but clean and functional. Front desk staff where very helpful; when checking in they told us of a Sound and Light show at the Cathedral that evening and not to miss it. Ate at their Cafe restaurant one night outside. Food was good, but service was a mess. We were sitting for almost an hour before the appetizers were delivered and one dish was forgotten altogether.

« Not memorable but very good on all points »

We arrived at the hotel just before rushing for a wedding so could not enjoy the amenities of the hotel such as the pool & health center. Still we very much enjoyed our short stay and appreciated 1) the on-site parking (you have to shoe-horn your car but still OK), 2) its superb location at the center of Reims, only a short walk of the Cathédrale (that you can even see from your room), 3) the well-sized & warm room with some nice features (such as 24-hours AC plugs, opening window in addition to the AC), 4) the huuuuuuuuuge bathroom with separate shower & bath (what a difference vs. the pantry-sized one in Denmark), the super (abundant & varied) breakfast and last but not last, 5) the friendly & efficient staff (superfast check in & check out, friendly & flexible staff at the breakfast eating room). Only (slight) areas for improvements: the tired plumbing (we had a small leak on the tap) and light in the room (small window).

« Some Good Some Bad »

I don't like hotel clerks arguing with me. I approached the front desk and announced my reservation name. The clerk confirmed my first name and then oddly announced that I would be staying for two nights. When I corrected him to clarify that I was only staying one night, he started arguing with me--not a good start. So I pulled out my paperwork to prove my one night visit, and he backed down. (I have been going on two or three 2-4-week European adventures each year, for the past five years. I only have reservations--most prepaid--about half of the time. In that time, I have needed the paperwork, to get what I had paid for, a total of four times. So print out your confirmations and organize them chronologically, stapling each hotel or tour's paperwork separately.) Then he gave me slightly aggravating news. Getting to my room would require two elevator rides. First ride up to the first floor, then walk down a corridor to a second elevator for a ride to your room floor. Why is that aggravating? Good example presented itself the first time I left my room. I got down to the street and immediately realized that I had left my camera in the room. Once again, over the river and through the woods...and the really annoying part is that the French don't get the joke. So what was good? I had just come from Bayeux. At the Churchill Hotel I had a room that reminded me of my days when I used to see how little I could spend on my European Adventures. The room at Hotel de la Paix was adequately sized and the shower was big enough that I was not required to shimmy around in order to get wet.

    « Great hotel »

Spent a couple of night here and the hotel is great it has great space and decor. Our room was fab and had everything we needed including a huge walk in shower. The staff were always helpful and the gym and swimming pool area were a welcome distraction from a busy schedule. The hotel bar was a delight and a great place to chill with a glass of Champagne. The car has a car park that needs to be booked in advance for €14 per night.

« Great city centre stay »

To be honest, I tend to shy away from Best Western Hotels I don't know. As independently owned hotels, it can be difficult to predict the quality of the hotels in the chain. We choose this hotel as a stopover on the way home from a holiday in southern France for two reasons; location and they accept dogs. The hotel turned out to be an excellent option. It's excellently located for visiting the centre of Reims, including the cathedral and there is an abundance of choices of places to eat all within steps of the hotel. The hotel, itself is modern but sympathetically aligned with the older buildings around. The courtyard area is particularly attractive. Rooms were large with a very good bathroom - modern and very clean with both a bath and a walk in shower. The bed was excellent and the room overall was clean and very comfortable. There is an underground car park but you will need to reserve a space and there is a charge. If you can't get a space in the hotel car park there is a public car park right across the street. This is a terrific hotel for visiting beautiful Reims and we would definitely stay again.

    « Very nice hotel »

Comfortable rooms, good storage and a mini bar and safe. Friendly welcoming staff with excellent English. . While there are many restaurants just around the corner you may want to research other eating options as many of them are of the bulk catering/ pub type and many of us like other types of restaurants when on holiday. I would certainly use this hotel again. many thank

    « A city centre surprise »

This was a short notice booking but from the moment we drove into the centre of Reims this was an easy stay at a welcoming hotel. Staff were attentive but not in your face, from reception to parking the car in the underground car park, to the breakfast in the morning this was an absolute joy. I had a triple bedded room which was situated on the top floor near the lift ? but there are only 6 rooms on the top floor ? but because the hotel is so well sound proofed, we never heard anything. In fact the noise of the nearby abbey clock was the thing that made most noise! Décor is a sort of 1970's retro but nonetheless worked really well. As the hotel is slap bang in the centre of town it was a short walk to explore central Reims. We WILL return! Excellent value.

« Great Place to Stay in Reims »

My wife and I spent one night in Reims at the Hotel de la Paix. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of the old part of the town. I don't think that I could throw a stone to the cathedral, but we did walk there and to two champagne houses for tours and tastings. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. They recommended and booked for us a reservation at an excellent nearby restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good. We highly recommend this hotel.

« Excellent stop off hotel »

We have stopped off on our journey home every year in Reims for the last five years. La Paix is a quality hotel, very stylish with extremely well equipped and comfortable rooms. Location is a major factor in choosing to stay here. Very animal friendly. Would recommend anyone who wants to visit the lovely city of Reims to stay in this hotel.

    « Highly recommended »

We stayed 3 nights here at the beginning of August and we're delighted with this hotel. The lobby was attractive, the staff friendly, and our room was lovely and spacious. A short walk put us on a nice pedestrian street with numerous cafes and restaurants. Convenient to the cathedral. The buffet breakfast at €15 was pretty good, and the courtyard was a nice place to sit and enjoy a glass of champagne. I would stay here again, and highly recommend it to anyone.

    « Very pleasant stay »

We stayed here for two nights as part of our champagne tour of Veuve Cliquot, Taittinger and a small local champagne producer. We had a very pleasant stay: the room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very polite and the terrace area outside was a really enjoyable place to sit in the sun and enjoy a drink. The bathroom was huge. Perhaps this is a feature of the Privilege room, which we stayed in: the shower was huge, which was great. I would recommend this hotel if you're visiting Reims. It's only ten minutes walk from the train station, too, so is very convenient if you happen to be coming on the TGV from Paris, as we were.

    « Excellent room »

We found this on TA and it will not disappoint. Excellent front desk, large room which was well appointed and a great bed and shower. The internet works great and there are lots of places to plug in your devices. Centrally located, midway between the train station and the Cathedral.

« Lovely, comfortable and central »

The hotel is a ten minute walk from the train station and in the centre of Reims - perfect for shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. The rooms are well appointed and modern. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the central courtyard is perfect for evening cocktails.

« Good hotel in great location »

Hotel is well located, close to the town centre with a spacious underground car park. Rooms are modern and well equipped with decent air con. The staff were helpful and although breakfast was a bit pricy (Euro15) there were plenty of options and unlimited coffee on tap. Great for a stop over on a trip to Alps or South of France. « Superb »

We recently booked a last minute stay in Reims whilst traveling through France. We could have been more delighted with this hotel, beautiful hotel and setting, very friendly and professional staff offering a wide range of languages and all within stumbling distance of Reims city centre. We were so impressed with this hotel we tried to book an additional night but were sadly fully booked. Would highly recommend and we will be visiting again soon.

« Great location, fab hotel »

This is a very nice hotel with outstanding service, located just around the corner from the main pedestrian street with all the restaurants. A better location couldn't be found! The hotel itself is nice, modern, clean, and fully air conditioned (very important on the days we were there!) The courtyard is a pleasant place to sit and have a drink in the early evening. Breakfast is nicely presented and replete with variety. All of the food is prepared properly and doesn't have that feel of having been sitting on a buffet for hours. Even the eggs were soft-scrambled (a particular point with me, as I hate overcooked eggs!) The staff were extremely helpful, especially when we had to call them to find our way into the hotel after a number of streets were barred for construction. All of the staff spoke English and were willing to speak to me in French or English, as I preferred to try to work on my French while I could. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough! I would definitely go there again! (And make sure you go to the Cathedral to see the Marc Chagall stained glass windows while you're in Reims.)

    « Good location »

Situated in the centre. The hotel has its own underground car park. Pull up to the entrance and give your details on the intercom. They were expecting us. Breakfast is 15 Euros but the local...

« Great hotel, great location »

Hotel is clean, well looked after, staff are helpful and location is perfect for the town. Family rooms are a good size, pool is clean, little small but ok. The town is 2 mins walk if that - lots of shops and places to eat. A great stop over on the car journey down to the south of france. Twice we have stayed here now and will do again.

« Best Western is Best in Reims »

Would definitely stay here again. Excellent location and top sleep quality accommodation (particularly important). Would like basement parking places just a bit wider as the way they are today, it is a really tight fit. Impeccable service!!!

« Great Hotel in Beautiful City of Reims »

We had two nights in the Champagne Region of France, while the City of Reims is not easy to drive in, the hotel is very central once you get there, the parking (@ Euro 14.00) is convenient, and the hotel staff are very helpful. We had a great room, with good bed and the shower was big, just the water was only warm, never HOT!. We did not eat in the hotel, as there are many great restaurants in close proximity,

    « Nearly Very Good »

We had stayed here before in 2012 and really enjoyed it. In fact I have used this hotel several times because it has A/c and a pool which is a boon in July and August. The restaurant has excellent food and service at reasonable prices. The room we had last time was a better layout although the room this time was fine. 1. After check in we were sent to the wrong room at the end of the corridor on the 4th floor... these things happen, don't they? 2. NOT the fault of the hotel - Woken at 5am by inconsiderate guests... but other than an apology, no action, and I had to ask for a delayed check out time. I got the impression that there were groups in the hotel as the bar was full all night which was probably the cause of our 5am problem... This also explains why we rated sleep quality as poor. 3. I used the convenient underground car park (14 Euros) and was asked to leave my car key at reception although I could not see why as I wasn't blocking anyone. When I returned my seat had been moved yet the car looked like it was in the same place.

« Still in the top »

We were again host at this hotel last week-end. Everything went very smooth, very good service, possibility to park the car under the hotel (upon reservation.), excellent location, good lounge/bar, big newly refurbished room, with silent airco. The bed could have been better, the internet did not work in our room, and dogs are allowed in the breakfast room which we thought was questionable concerning the hygiene... But all in all, a good stay.

    « Don't ever stay here »

I was so excited to visit Reims and booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reccomendations. However, from the get go this place was a nightmare. First we were not welcomed or greeted. Our room was ready early, but smelled of skunk so terribly we had to open the window. The check-in was easy and they did call a champagne house for us for a reservation. The bar staff was a joke, we were left sitting for 45 minutes after we asked for a second round and when we went to complain the front desk staff was rude and said they didn't have a manager on staff. It also seems that people who work in this hotel have never eaten out in Reims because the struggle for them to reccomend a place for us was beyond and when asked questions they told us they didn't know and have never eaten there. Really? Not one restaurant you could reccommend to your guests? And then when we finally got told of a place they had heard about but again never been, they gave us the wrong directions. Needless to say, untrained unfriendly staff. Poor communication and obviously no management to rectify a problem when we had it. Worst visit on our whole two week trip.

    « OK »

Ok - great location, but could have done so much more. Big differences between the staff - some was excellent - some way under medium. A great place to stay to explore the Champagne region. The restaurant was OK, but needs a shine up. We ate meat, but was told afterwards that sea food was their speciallety

    « Excellent hotel »

My daughter & I stayed here one night for a short stay and local champagne tour! The hotel is very well located, approx 10 minute walk from the railway station. The room was immaculate and provided all the facilities we needed. All the staff were very courteous and helpful. We also used the swimming pool, sauna and steam room, which again were very clean. We also visited the hotel bar and restaurant, and again the staff offered an excellent service and the food was delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

« Comfortable hotel in Reims »

Best Western La Paix is centrally located, private parking at 14 euros/day. rather easy to find using GPS. The reception staff very service minded. But the staff in the restaurant could be more attentive (had dinner there). Breakfast buffet was good, but missed fresh vegetables and hot dishes. Rooms facing the street can be noisy due to traffic and loud people at night. The rooms facing the inneryard are more quiet..

« Loved the swimming pool.... »

It was a nice stay. I enjoyed the size of the bedroom and bathroom. The bed was too hard for my taste, but it was fine. The location is great - close to shopping, restaurants, and the train station. The swimming pool is heavenly. Great after a day of work.

    « good option downtown »

This is an excellent choice if you want 4 star equivalent hotel accommodation. The rooms are large and furnished in a modern style. They are spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast is very good. The pool is small but nice for a quickish dip and the gym has lots of machines and a sauna. The position of this hotel is perfect for a visit to the cathedral, museums, market, shops etc. being right in the middle of the town. We would definitely go back.

    4
    « very pleasant stay »

The rooms are clean, could be a bit bigger or different arranged. The desk is hardly usable, there is no space left between the bed and the desk. But the rest of the comfort and the service is very good. The breakfast has a wide choice. The lunches were very enjoyable.
