« Overnight Stay after arriving at Newark Airport »

This hotel is a nice convenient place to stay after flying in to the US. There are short driving distances to NYC or to PA. The hotel is nice and clean. They include a nice hot breakfirst within costs of the stay. It is definitely to be recommended.

    « Clean and inexpensive »

Great value for families wanting to visit New York but not pay New York prices. Clean, has option for breakfast and staff is friendly and accommodating. Rooms have small sitting room at entrance, fridge and sink. Pool is added bonus for kids.

    « Pleasant stay »

Very helpful staff, hotel with good facilities. The hotel is situated in rahway, a pleasant riverside walk by the side of the hotel, with views of inbound aeroplanes heading to Newark airport. We used the hotel as a base for visiting NYC, as we didn't fancy being in the city itself and were happy with the choice. We were given a room with a suite. There is free WiFi, tea&coffee facilities, fridge&microwave along with a complimentary breakfast. Very good value for money, We'd definitely stay there again.

« Great Staff, Great Value »

Terrific staff and a great value for the money. Loved the river walk. Good location. Convenient to everything in the area. Complimentary breakfast was very good. We have never been disappointed with Best Western, but this hotel moves to the top of the list.

    « Great place »

Staff was excellent! Check in was smooth even though invoked the wrong date thru Priceline. They worked with me and fixed it. Room was very spacious, beds was comfortable. Nice seating area in room with small couch. Bathroom was good. Indoor pool and small workout room with some cardio and a universal machine. Breakfast was good. Plenty of parking and close to shopping and restaurants.

    « Bad room /Bad services »

We stayed in this hotel on sep 22nd and as soon as we checked in to our room we noticed that our bathroom door lock wasn't working. And it wont close completely. So i called the front desk and notified them, the front desk person (his name is Elias) told me they don't have any other rooms available and offer me 10% off on my room bill and I accepeted it. After and hour we went to the city and came back around 10:30 at night and noticed that our room A/c not working and the room temp is 75 even though the thermostat is set for 62. I called the front desk again and talked to Elias again and he said may be the went is closed and I asked him to come and check it out. He told me we will be come in to check it out in 10 min. Same time I asked for another room ( and he said no room availble) After waiting for more than 30 min i called again for another room same answer no rooms availabe. So i went in hotels.com and bestwestern web and found they do have room available. and show that to the guy and told him that either he give me a new room or I am leaving now. Only then he gave me the room.

« Nice Place to Stay »

This Hotel is a Great Place to stay for the area and the price. It is clean and safe and quiet. The staff is polite and make you feel at home. It has a good breakfast and near a lot of stores and restaurants. I would recommend to anyone.

    « practical and affordable »

We booked at this hotel on our way home from DC. The hotel is well situated not too far from NYC and I think it was renovated as it was clean, the beds very confortable and wifi worked fine. Did not use the pool nor the breakfast as we left too early. Staff helpful and courteous.

    2
    « Sorry for changes »

We had stayed at this hotel in years past with better service and food being offered. First the breakfast was not as full and did not have the variety that we previously had. Also we called in a maintenance request twice to our room with the reassurance that the maintenance would be up which never came. Also there was someone hair in the bathroom that was not ours as it was a different color and texture. There were also questionable stains several places on the rug.

    3
« With Price this is Avg hotel »

You will be getting a Avg hotel room with this much more price. There is no exhaust fan in bath room and its quite old rooms. which needs renovation. Will think again if needs to stay here.Location is good and near to restaurants and airport, near I 95

    « More breakfast »

Our visit was very good. It would have been nicer if there was a little bit selection for Celiac health condition. It does not have to be much. The pool could be a bit warmer, while we sat in the pool area I tried to go in the water and I found it to cold and 3 other couples who had come in to swim left because the water was to cold. I would still recommend this hotel to everyone.

    3
    « Average »

Summarizing my impression leads me to say that this Hotel it's not bad. Room was pretty clean (and for us, a family of four, that's the first thing we care of), room service too but breakfast didn't convince me. Few choices and too crowded. The location it's nothing special and finding the Hotel (near a large road but not easy to find the right turn....) was at first difficult. At the reception, nothing bad happened but,......when we checked in (at 3 pm) the guy had left a message "back in a moment, sorry", but he was around and saw us, (he was in the alley I recognized when he came back) , but we waited for 10 minutes. Nobody around. Only us. Repeat. Nothing bad but....Overall I just say average. And I'm generous.

    « My Quick Stay »

I had to book a hotel in New Jersey to attend a funeral of a loved one and found this hotel suitable; however recommend that they ensure bathroom curtains are clean and the hotel desk staff are always courteous and friendly to customers.

    « Summer Family Vacation »

Best Western Inn & Suites Booked 3 Rooms at the BW, mid-July on our First Leg of our Family NJ-NYC-Niagara Falls-Washington DC Tour. We had Two suites and a King Room to accommodate a Family of 7 comfortably. 6 Adults,1 Teen. Worked with Manager, Mr. Ernest Rodgers on setting up the rooms on same floor. To our surprise!! It worked out as we Planned considering it was over the phone Arrangements Cali to NJ. The Rooms were Spacious and clean for the most part. The Hotel Staff -Front Desk, Dining Room to Guest Room Service were Hospitable and Helpful. Heads-Up: Get Down to Breakfast EARLY. Get it while it's Nice and Hot meal to include: Scrambled Eggs, Patty Sausages, Cube Potatoes, Waffles, Cereals, Oatmeal and Bagels. Fruits Included: Apples, Oranges, Bananas. Juices: Apple, Orange, Milk, Coffee n Tea. Dining Room had a Large Flat Screen TV to catch up on Local and National News. We had an issue with Parking as it filled up COMPLETELY during our weekend stay. One had to be in place by 11pm. Took me until 1am to catch an opening as guests were leaving. Whewww. Made for an interesting night as I wasn't trying to get our HERTZ SUV 15-day Rental towed within 1st two days. RECOMMENDATION to Guest Room Maintenance: Vacuum at Base of Beds and baseboards.

    « Could be better »

I stay in rm.415, carpeting was worn and dirty needs replacing. Awful time getting hot water for the shower. Breakfast was ok. I'll be staying there next month which will be my last time stayng there.

« just an ok stay »

The bed was very comfortable. However, the towels were similar to sandpaper on my skin. They were VERY rough. The upholstery on the couch and chair in the room were soiled as well as the room darkening shades. They were just dirty from being used...apparently alot. Night clerk and afternoon clerk were friendly, evening clerk was not friendly.

    « Great stay! »

My husband and I took our kids on vacation to see the Statue of Liberty and we stayed at this Best Western. There were five of us in our room and had two queen size beds and a pull out sofa. Plenty of room! The bathroom was a good size with a roomy deep tub. And the beds were very comfortable. Normally I don't sleep well due to a health issue but I slept very comfortably here! The hotel staff were very nice and helpful and the pool was nice as well. A little small but it was perfect for us. The breakfast had great selections: eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, bagels, toast, etc. It was a nice selection especially when you were there for four days. There was a Popeyes chicken next door and a Burger King across the street. We found a pizza place called Pizza Time and it was really good pizza. We ordered it two nights in a row. Try it! We would definitely stay here again.

    « Vacation Roadtrip »

Hotel was to standard. Was more than adequate for our family of 5. Would stay again and recommend to others. Only drawback is the road to get to the hotel. General location of hotel was very good as it was close to everything we were looking to do.

    « July 4th weekend from Hell »

terrible place. DO NOT STAY HERE, the place is a dump! the furniture was disgusting dirty as well as the rugs, the doors creaked, the toilets and bathtub were dirty. They ran out of bathroom towels...what hotel runs out of towels! I was appalled, we changed rooms and it didn't get any better.

    4
    « Good for price »

We stayed at this Best Western for 4 nights. The rooms were clean but not the most comfortable. The towels, while clean, were very rough. The staff wasn't always tbe nicest and barely talked to you if you didn't greet them first. The breakfast was ok but went fast so get there early.

    « Inexpensive-Great Value / Convenient location / Great stay »

As a family of three, with a six-yo, we stayed at the Best Western Rahway Hotel for a week in June 2016. Overall, our experience was excellent. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. The room of two queen-beds was huge, clean, and comfortable. The hotel may need some refreshing (old wallpaper, paint, old carpet) but it was clean without any bad smells throughout. The little gym and swimming pool were really rewarding after a long and tiring day of visiting nearby NYC (20min). The breakfast was sufficient and as advertised, and the person responsible made sure we were all happy and full starting our day. And the most important, the price per night was very competitive comparing to other nearby hotels. I strongly recommend this hotel, and next time we go to NYC we stay at Best Western Rahway again.

    « Great »

We have stayed at several Best Westerns and found them all to be great. The one at Fort Belvoir MT. Vernon in Alexander VA along with the one in Rahway are fantastic. The one in VA we have used often when visiting my brother and his wife before his passing. We also stayed here when he was interned in Arlington Cemetery. The staff was very helpful to us during this trying time.

    « Not a decent/clean accomadtion(s) »

I am rather chagrinned to read these other reviews. We were there for six nights, June 8-14, 2016, occupying a king bedroom. First night no linen in the bathroom the night we arrived. The rugs had not been vacuumed in months and the noise from other rooms was unacceptable. The bathroom and toiletries provided were lacking. For example the towels were rough and small. If someone forgot their shampoo or conditioner they would be out of luck with what was provided. There was very little parking. The free breakfast was okay, but the second day the coffee machine broke and no one seem to understand the concept of suction and flow between the hoses. It was sad watching this disaster in the making. Coffee was made in coffeemaker, which was terrible. Overall the hotel and the room was minimally acceptable. I do know everyone's definition of a good/decent accommodation is really subjective. I have stayed in many Best Western's in the USA and only one other has been this poor.

    4
    « Quick overnight »

Pretty nice place to stay overnight. Hotel was sold out during our stay. Not enough parking to accommodate every single overnighter, but not a big deal We a Family of 3 stayed in the handicap room which was very spacious. Towels a bit small for average size person and a bit rough...again if staying to rest no biggy Bed are very soft (firm bed lovers will hate).. Dunkin donut right across the street

    « Quiet /Confort and cheap. »

This is my first time staying in a Best Western Hotel . Overall my experience has been good. I would like to see more variety in the breakfast area. Also like to see the water a little more clean. Not sure how often the water get change. but it was not clean. Little fitness area...i like it ,small okay with me. Bed was very comfortable. In the past my issue has been with bed bud ...this hotel i didn't see any so im good with that. no issues with sheet or towel request. Would i come back again .. I would .

    « Great Hotel »

We know that Best Western is a nice place but I found it a super place to stay and my family enjoy their short stay and each time I only heard how nice it was from the size of the rooms to the breakfast and how it was all close to shopping and eating will return in the future.

    5
    « Everything I needed »

It was clean the people were polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable even if the pillows were on the tiny side for me and to soft. My only complaint was that the wifi was to weak in my room. So much so that I couldn't even stream YouTube after a certain point at night.

    5
    « excellant stay »

The hotel was very clean, breakfast could have had a few daily changes. It was the same thing everyday. the hotel clerk was thoughtful because there were 3 bus loads of teenagers, and she put us on the top floor, so that we would not get the noise from above.

  • 4
    « Great Stay »

Room was clean and spacious. There was a small pool and fitness center (no free weights though). Complimentary breakfast was adequate. Coffee maker in the room worked. Queen bed was comfy. The pull-out sofa bed needed some repairs. (The bottom of the mattress kept falling down.) The in-room internet access worked fine. Across from a couple of popular fast food restaurants.

    4
« Good location, quiet hotel »

It is great to travel just 10 miles from Liberty International Airport and arrive to a warm welcome, clean spacious hotel room and good breakfast the following morning This hotel is quiet so a great start to the holiday

« Nice accommodations near Metropark »

It was a pleasant overall experience here at the Best Western. My room had a nice view of the river, people were pleasant, especially Tina. In the morning after a concert in New York, I had the pool all to myself and it was very nice to just read and relax. Also the breakfast was just right, even had scrambled eggs and sausages.

    4
    « Refreshingly friendly »

We moved here mid vacation after a horrendous stay at the La Quinta Clifton. The staff here was accommodating and very helpful. The room does show some wear but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.

    4
« Nice, Just needs updating. »

My family in I was in NJ/NY for my moms 60th. Stayed there for 3 nights the staff was polite and helpful and the location was just right close to NY. The rooms are very large, However, they need updating and thorough cleaning. The sofa bed was worn out. Will I stay again? Yes...because it was good for the price. There are lots of food delivery services near by. The breakfast was okay... however the sausages were not as tasty as they looked, very generic.

    4
    « BUSINESS STAY »

I was pleasantly greeted by the staff that was in front. she wa so helpful and kind. i had a LONG day and needed a rest it was nice to be welcomed. She even told us places we can order from because we were hungry and tired. She gave us some menus to look at too.

    4
    « Good location. »

Place was nice, spacious, and clean. Great large breakfast area. Near many shopping locations and movie theater. Room has good river view. Google maps needs update since it take you to a dead-end road.

    4
    « Relaxing Stay »

We stayed at this hotel because we had heard great things about the Best Western chain. We had a king room and it was very spacious with a living area as well. Very good value and the breakfast is excellent. The staff is friendly and professional. We would stay here again!

    5
    « excellent service »

front desk staff Gerard, did a fantastic job directing me on the phone when we became lost. We were travelling from Rhode Island. When I arrived in the lobby I was shocked to see him at the front desk all alone, checking guests in, answering phones and I could not believe he took all that time. Excellent service.

    5
    « full of amenities »

very nice place to stay no complaints had all the extras i needed. great breakfast, very good fitness area, even the pool was nice. the staff was very friendly and helpful when we were looking for good restaurants to eat at.

« Worn rooms. Service could be improved. »

I have stayed twice in the last month or so - I think this time will probably be my last. My most recent visit was just this past week. The service upon check-in was odd. When I arrived at almost 11:00pm, the lobby door was locked (probably for security?) and the staff wasn't in a rush to open the door for me. I was checking in during a shift change, and the front office staff member who was getting ready to leave was complaining quite a bit about his job - it didn't seem like he wanted to be there. He was also there when I checked out, and his demeanor was again not very warm and kind like I expect at a front desk - very uninterested. The bathroom and furniture are very worn and old - they are desperate for an upgrade/renovation! The shower seemed a little skeevy even though it was clean, just based on how worn it was. The living space would have been nice, but I was not inclined to sit down and relax because it looked so dirty and stained. The first time, I used my Best Western rewards points so didn't think much about value. I got a good deal on a 3rd party website for my 2nd stay (I tried to book directly at the hotel but the front desk agent said she could not match the lower rate and there was no manager available for a few hours). I wouldn't stay here again unless I had a good deal and it was a quick overnight - it wasn't worth the original price of $115ish/night.

    3
    « Just Okay »

this hotel is small with large rooms and adequate parking. Beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. This hotel does have multiple entrances and check-in is very fast and easy. The cleanliness of the bathroom needs improvement. During the day the housekeeping ladies are very noisy with loud chatter and accompanying laughter. One maid promised to bring me another towel and never came back. Very good wifi and good location on a main avenue yet very very quiet at night. This hotel can be somewhat overpriced. Best to catch them on an Internet special. My stay was ok but definitely not in a hurry to return. Hotel only has 3 floors.

    5
    « Excellent Choice »

We were very pleased with our choice of lodging for our trip to Rahway. We are re-locating to the area for work and needed somewhere to stay while we were apartment hunting. When we arrived at around 1:00pm, they were able to immediately accommodate us for an early check-in. The room was clean and very comfortable - we were on the top floor. The parking was ample and we always were able to get a spot near the door. We did not try the breakfast, but liked that it was an option. If we'd had more time, we probably would've tried the pool too! We would stay here again and will recommend it to family when they come to visit us.

    1
« BED BUGS- HORRIBLE MGMT »

Do not consider this hotel unless your ok with bed bug bites from head to toe. The General Manager, Ernest was dismissive and spoke to me on the PHONE like we were having a street conversation, seemingly bottered by the "hassle" of requesting a different room, instead of taking ownership that his hotel is infested or that his guests have serious concerns. He wouldnt even give me his name (assuming because of his rude behavior) and has the nerve to hang up on me. When he saw me the next day, he verbally attacked me for filing a complaint with corporate. The worst experience i have ever experienced.

    2
    « Blah »

There was dust and dirt all over Housekeeping said they only fully clean every six months because mgt doesnt want to pay for it. I had no internet service for 3 days. There were odd looking spots and slotches all over the headboard The door didnt close and a man from " Corporate just walked right in. The people in the next room were smoking pot heavily for days. Overall I dont think I would ever recommend this hotel. Which is a shame because my sons karate tournaments are close by and other parents asked me for a good place to stay near by.

    « Can't wait to go back »

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Riverview Inn & Suites, Rahway NJ.. The rooms are large, lots of space & Clean...The service was great and the area is around everything...Looking forward in them getting some more sport channels..

Average hotel, was not as clean as we espected, this was a hotel for construction workers, was dirt on the floor all the time. The bathroom smells bad ,was like a bad plumbing line.I have stayed a Best Western hotels before but those have been more clean.

« Good base for NYC »

Train station for travel into New York City is a short cab ride away. Hotel is very clean and inexpensive. Also, there are two major malls within a 10 mile radius, and one has a Cheesecake Restaurant, which I highly recommend.

    « Pictures don't represent hotel. »

Booked this hotel based on the reviews and photos. Was really disappointed, rooms were filthy, carpet had food crumbs and stain all over. The bedding had hair all over on both of our beds. There was unwiped cup stains on the desk. I just wasn't clean. Area was very unsafe. Was told to be careful wearing my jewelry at breakfast because it might get stolen. I usually don't write on issues that might just be overlooked but this was bad. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. I was a disappointment. We didn't even use the room and was only able to cancel and get a refund for three out of four nights. Look elsewhere. Management can do a better job at running this hotel.

    « Great Stay! »

Quick and easy check in. Polite staff. Room was ready and clean even though we checked in early. Our room had a Jacuzzi which was clean and ready for use. Bed was very clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows. Breakfast food okay. I love eggs in the morning and these were not real eggs, but powder eggs. So they weren't so great. We did not like the coffee either. Didn't get a chance to use the pool. Stay at this hotel several times a year and will continue to stay here! Close to my two sons who live 2 miles away from the hotel and the train to go in to New York City.

    5
    « best hotel stay »

we enjoyed staying at bestwesten riverview. very reasonable price. The breakfast is good. room is very clean and bed is very comfortable. Location is very convenient for shopping. The staff are very nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

    4
« Nice hotel, pretty close to train station »

We enjoyed our stay and were able to walk the 12-15 blocks to the train station for easy access without having to drive. Note: you could easily get to this hotel via the train from EWR. The only negative was the hardness of the towels. I would definitely stay again if visiting NYC area.

    3
« front desk is not very accommodating »

the service at the front desk was considerably lowers the value of this hotel if you don't value common courtesy, then this hotel is for you the breakfast staff were very friendly, helpful and made sure the buffet was well stocked for the hotel guests

    4
« My Hotel in Rahway »

BEST WESTERN Riverview Inn & Suites is easy access off Route 1. Stayed one night for business related travel. If you are going to Merck, the trip is a very short drive from this hotel. Very friendly staff. Larger than normal quiet room. Several restaurants within 1 mile of the hotel varying from fast food to several chain restaurants. There may be some upscale but that wasn't what I was looking for. The morning continental breakfast was adequate and the coffee was very good. If I am back in town this where I will stay.

    4
    « BestWestern Riverview »

The Hotel was average but the experience was excellent. The Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. After traveling all day it was nice to arrive at a clean and quiet hotel with friendly people. A daily continental breakfast was served which was basic, but there was enough of a variety to be able to have something quick when on a tight schedule. Overall our stay was great.

    4
« Easy on the air freshner »

With the exception of the over powering air freshener in my room my stay was wonderful. The check in staff was very friendly. The breakfast attendant was on top of the buffet wanting for nothing. I enjoyed my stay.

    5
« Great Value, nice location »

Great value for a better than average hotel. Friendly staff and included a pretty good breakfast selection. Finding the road entrance was tricky but after we navigated it successfully once it was easy after that.

    4
« Great overnight stay and close top the airport »

First time at this hotel and we will stay again for sure. It was very difficult to find the way in when Southbound so we looked on google earth before leaving home. Once there the staff are friendly and very accommodating. Our room had a lovely view of the river and was well appointed and quiet. Great breakfast to start the day. The hotel is very reasonably priced considering there are many to choose from in the area but I have to say I wouldn't even enter the doorway of some. Would we stay again, yea and would we recommend to others definately

    4
    « Nice Hotel for the $$$ »

The hotel is very nice and the price was right. The room was large and clean and the staff was very helpful. The girl at the front desk got a cab for us as we were in town for the Food Truck & Rock Carnival. I will definitely stay there again.

  • 5
    « Very nice hotel »

Nice property. Very nice rooms with fridge/microwave. Nice view of the water and a little trail behind the hotel. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of selections. Staff very friendly and accomodating.

    3
« Good luck on finding the entranceway »

This hotel was well up to par on amenities and cleanliness, but there was a major problem actually finding the entrance road. You can see the hotel from the busy 6-lane road, but the entrance road is not signposted and virtually invisible unless you see someone exiting or entering it. SO the stay got off to a poor start. Apparently, we're not the only people to (eventually) arrive a bit exasperated. Still, forewarned is forearmed - a good choice otherwise. Some very noisy guests in the next room resulted in a poor sleep quality rating. Law of averages says that is going to happen occasionally, but doesn't make it any easier to put up with after 8 hours on the road.

Getting to the hotel ...

All directions
