    « Great destination »

In walking distance to Old Quebec. Very friendly staff. My only complaint was that, due to the fact I used my points on the stay, the hotel did not cover our breakfast. I really think if you earned points then it should cover a full stay. Best Western normally always covers breakfast. Overall was a great experience though.

« Not worth the price »

My assistant booked me here for a business trip and boy was I upset when I got my bill at the end of the stay. I stayed 7 days, and I had 4 different rates on the bill. I had nights at $140, 175, 200 and 250+ on the weekend. Never experienced that anywhere else. The front desk had nothing but excuses. The hotel needs a facelift if it's going to charge those rates. The room are ok, and the location is fine, but for that price I can go elsewhere.

    4
« No idea what this refers to »

The hotel is OK, no complaints about location, very satisfied with staff with no complaints about any one with whom we interacted, quite surprised at the $24 per night for parking (was offered a lower price inside the old city).

    « no so good »

i went to best... no parking chek in was good food was good wen i went to my room it was great one time the elevator was out of orter the elevator did not go up but it was great near to suff great stay

    « Great value »

Just needed a stay over during a long drive road trip. The price of this hotel made up for the parking cost ($24). This parking option was a little higher but worth not walking 5 mins in cold for $7 cheaper. Clean room, great location, all amenities you need for a one night stay.

    5
    « Very Nice »

We had a lovely room, with a large, comfortable bed. We were given 2 for 1 vouchers for the bar between 5-7 and very much enjoyed sitting in their with a drink. The hotel is in a good location, about 15-20 min walk from the old town. Would definitely return.

« Perfect location, great value, will return »

A family operated business. You can feel and see the personal touch. Staff is very attentive. Rooms are individually decorated. Reasonable parking nearby. All major attractions within easy walking distance.

« Amazing hotel, terrible parking - avoid if you have an expensive car. »

We had very good time in the hotel. The personal was very friendly. The rooms were very clean, we enjoyed the pool and the continental breakfast. Moreover, they charged our EV overnight. BUT there is one serious problem is very high curb near the hotel entrance. On the check out the valet service parked our car very close to this high curb and our kids bumped both doors causing damage. I mentioned about this problem in the hotel feedback survey and a representative let me know that it's known issue and they cannot do anything without municipality approval but municipality doesn't respond to their applications. Avoid until this issue is resolved!

« She acted as if i was a thieve that wanted a free room »

oct 26/2016 It took 2 days calling & the women couldn't figure there was a note that the room was reserved for the bus driver. She acted as if i was a thieve that wanted a free room, i know they like drama & it makes their day but...quit mixing emotion with logic please...What a way to treat customers... . I finally had a guy answer the phone & he found out within a minute & said to come at the desk. It was another guy at the desk & he also found the note in a minute & was ok. Driver of the Belgium delegation who reserved the room under the name (Bergen) since they didn't know the driver name so they left a note that the room was for (bus driver layman tours)

    « Not happy »

Didn't like the parking at all, you have to pay 24$ and they are going to take your car far away and you have to call to get it back. And of course we left most of our stuff in the car thinking we will come back for it, but they took it. Also I was very shocked that we had to pay to get a microwave in our room. First time I see it. The rooms were very small too , no extra room at all.

    « Comfortable hotel »

Nice room, comfortable bed, convenient parking next door to hotel, easy 10-15 walk to Old Quebec. Paid extra for breakfast, buffet just fair, food cool not hot. Waiters very pleasant though. Staff bilingual!

« Great hotel! Huge rooms! »

This was a great hotel in the very nice area of St. Roch in Quebec City. We got a king room, and I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the suite. A lot of king rooms have exactly enough space for the bed, and that's handy if you like to touch the TV screen with your toes while you're lying down, but if you're staying for a week, you would want a space that's less claustrophobic. But this room was big enough to dance in! It was all square, which feels a lot more spacious than a rectangular room. The bathroom was also impressively large. We got an upgrade to business class, thanks to my BW platinum rewards card, which put us up on the top floor. The hotel is U-shaped, with an atrium in the middle that features a large skylight. Our room was facing the atrium, which was much quieter than a room with a window facing outside, as there's construction right across the street. However, our window was facing open hallways across from the atrium, which meant that you had to keep the window closed so no one would see you in your underwear! This BW did not have a complimentary breakfast bar, but it did have an on-site restaurant where guests could get 10% off their bill. Some of the meals are expensive, but the ado have daily specials that are advertised on the TV screen behind the reception desk. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, especially the valet staff, who were always around to answer any questions concerning getting around in the city. The rooms were kept exceptionally clean. We had a fridge and a Keurig coffee maker in our room, which was also a nice touch. The memory foam mattress was great, and the heating/cooling system was almost noiseless. I've never had a bad stay at any BW, but this was one of their better hotels.

« Service was great the best ever I have had »

stayed here for 2 nights Alex on the reception was great and should get an award for outstanding service....our room was very large and clean.....this hotel is walking distance to the old city....very clean.....bus to the old city is one block away......but walking into the old town is easy......stay here for the service if nothing else....

    « A decent place to stay »

This is a decent hotel, with good facilities. The rooms are well furnished and spacious. We had booked a family room for 5 and it was adequate enough for us. There is a cafe where you can grab a quick coffee and a bite to eat, or you can opt for the buffet breakfast, which is not the best but its good enough. Although we did not encounter any issues with the staff, but I did witness a couple of issues with other customers, in one case the customer was a bit rude and arrogant but the response of the staff was equally as direct, in another it was a bit of misunderstanding with the customer but the staff's reaction was not appropriate in my opinion.

    4
    « Nice hotel »

This hotel was better than I expected. It is not new but I think the bedrooms and bath rooms have been refurbished because the tiles in the bathroom looked new and very clean. They have complete amenities including coffee maker which is helpful because breakfast is expensive in the hotel. Although the hotel is suppose to be in the city center, it is actually far from the tourist areas like the charming old Quebec. However, the hotel has a restaurants and there are other eating places within walking distance. If you want to join tours, the hotel can book for you and you get picked up from the hotel.

    4
    « Centrally Located »

Enjoyed my stay at the best western city centre. Hotel is located wishing walking distance to old Quebec and located close to restaurants and pubs. Staff speaks and understands English and very accommodating to your needs. Only concern is the valet parking. No free parking and the fee for the valet parking can be costly

    4
    « Good and clean »

This is a nice hotel it was clean the service was fast and friendly. This is a little distance from down town but the hop on hop off buss is close. The only down fall was they don't offer breakfast. You have to pay extra in there restaurant.

« Beat Western Plus Quebec City »

Friends &I stayed at Best Western Plus September 30. Service was excellent. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had breakfast & dinner in the restaurant and food was very good. We were picked up at the hotel for a country tour which I highly recommend.

« Recent stay in Quebec »

A recent four day stay in Quebec in October, 2016, and my travel agent put me up in this hotel. Overall, a quiet place for respite after a day of touring. I did eat in the restaurant on site and was very pleased with my meal, and especially the wait staff, kudos to our waiter Nicholas who was superb and helpful with beverage meal selections. I did think the hot tub in the pool area was not warm enough, with very little bubbles to qualify as a whirlpool. It was more like sitting in tepid bath water, so only used the whirlpool once. I felt the walk to Old Quebec City was a bit long, with quite a few turns, hills and uneven sidewalks to feel comfortable, so I used a taxi for ten dollars and tip to get to the walled part of the city for touring. The front desk and side desk to order a taxi from were all very helpful. There were restuarants within walking distance to also explore for dining options. Overall, a good stay, but did not want to keep walking to and from the Old City. Taxi's did come quickly for navigating assistance.

    3
    « Businesslike and Efficient »

Stayed here for 4 nights on my first time back in Quebec City for more than 20 years! Clean and efficient with a most friendly staff who worked hard to make us feel we were welcome and wanted. The restaurant in the hotel was fair but you can do better going out into the neighbourhood. Because it is a 15 minute walk away from the old city the area is less 'touristy' but with plenty of authentic restaurants and stores geared for a younger crowd. A most enjoyable way to spend a few days!

    « Great staff »

We stayed in a business room, which had a massive comfy bed, I think it must have been on offer as it was the same price as a standard, or just a little more. The room was very clean and well laid out. The coffee machine and fridge area really handy. The staff on check in were excellent and offered lots of information about the surrounding area. We received a small bag with some water, a breakfast bar and a piece of fruit, which I thought was a nice touch, especially if you were going to head out for a little explore. We used the valet parking, which although is more expensive than parking off site is really handy for not having to worry about your car or if you have read the signs right about charges and times. Also means that your car is ready and close by when you need it. The gym is basic but neat, and the swimming pool and hot tub were well kept.

« Good location, large room, refrigerator, parking. »

Booked early with third party site. So good value, 3 days with valet parking and lots of taxes for under $700 Canadian. Could only get executive room, really set up for a travelling businessperson, big desk with chair, one recliner with table. Liked the bathroom. Made morning coffee before leaving. Did not expect fridge, glad to have it. Plenty of nearby restaurants, and an SAQ.

    3
« Good beds, quite rooms and reasonably well located »

Word to describe this hotel include: spacious rooms, large bathroom, weird price-differences per night (i.e. one night was well over CAD 350 and another below CAD 175!), small pool and single hot-tube, in-house meal options, valet parking, and reasonably central location. The hotel is located just-outside of down-town Quebec, but you can walk to the old center (via stairs) within 15 minutes, just note that you need to climb lots of stairs. There are multiple dinner/lunch options for hotel guests including an in-house restaurant and coffee café (where you get a 10% discount), where we enjoyed dinner one evening and got our morning coffee one morning, or a great Vietnamese/Thai restaurant across the street called Restaurant Saigon Bankgkok or an Italian restaurant called Boudoir at a 3-minute walk. Spacious room, ours didn't have any windows on the street so it was very nice and quiet, with an upside that you could stay with 5 people (family) in a single room with enough space to still sit around. We found the pool and hot-tube to be very cozy and nicely painted, but much too small.

    5
    « Well located »

This hotel is well located in Quebec city, close to university buildings (ENAP, INRS, TELUQ). Staff is very friendly. There is construction near the hotel right now so ask to be as away as possible from the construction site. Breakfast is not included but the price is quite reasonable. Rooms with inside view might be noisier than the ones with outside windows. There is an excellent coffee shop in the hotel but there is also a Starbucks very close by.

    « Le Sigh....Should be Better »

Best Western Plus. I don't expect it to be the Four Seasons, but for $350 per night you better provide something better than what my partner and I experienced. The property itself is ok. Pretty much what I expect from this brand. Quebec City seemed to be busy at the end of this week. We came in on a Thursday evening and are leaving the following day. Finding a room was a challenge so when we saw availability at this property we took it. It is in the downtown core of Quebec City, not the Old City, which is where I would expect to pay $300 + at a four star property. The sign outside says that this place has four stars, but the property itself would differ. Our room is NOT a $350 per night room. The towels are not what you would expect from a property that charges $350 per night. They fellow checking us in couldn't even offer us breakfast included! Geez. The room also has a particular scent that is part musty part something else and part too many cleaning fluids and sprays. The carpet is old and tired and seems to have wanted changing awhile ago. Definitely not what I would expect from a property charging $350 for this room plus the $24 for parking. Ok, I'll give them the parking, as downtown parking usually costs that and more in some places. The front desk staff was ok, nothing less than I would have expected from this brand. Come on Best Western Plus in Quebec City! You have to earn your stars. They think they are a four star property. I give them two and a half. The half point is for chutzpah.

« Single Night Stay in Quebec »

Only had two days/1 night in Quebec. The hotel was great. Staff was helpful, room was clean, bed was good, bathroom was fine. 1-2 miles from Port, old town area, Citadelle. walking distance if the weather cooperates.

    4
    « Nice stay »

My wife and I stayed here overnight to visit historic Quebec City. Checked in on time and yes the road the front of the hotel is on is small and busy with a condo project next door. Not a problem at all as we left our car and checked in, taking advantage of the valet parking. $24 with in and out privileges. The best part was we were able to leave it there after we checked out up until 4pm today. Some people complained about the cost but to park for over 24hours it was quite reasonable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. King bed was heavenly. The shower in the room was huge. The only knock of the hotel is that it's about 2k from the old city. Not an issue for us, but if you have mobility issues or just aren't in shape to walk uphill, which most of the way to the old city is, then maybe a consideration. The area around the hotel is in transition with several projects ongoing. Wasn't an issue for us as we weren't disturbed whatsoever. We will definitely go back to Quebec City and for the value and level of professionalism and care we received we will return to this hotel.

    « Lovely hotel »

This hotel is a 15 minute walk from the old city, and staff were helpful in assisting us to navigate the sites. Special thanks to Isabelle, who registered us, and was so terrific!! All of her suggestions were right on the money...from places to eat, to tours of the city, to how to navigate the area. Thanks Isabelle! We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

    5
    « Wow great hotel! »

Was able to get this hotel from Hotwire at a great price ($79 CDN) and it was fantastic. It is well located. You can reach Chateau Frontenac within 30 minutes (walking) and opposite direction the port in the same time. The service was courteous and professional provided by a younger staff! Very impressive! Do not hesitate and book here you will enjoy it!

« A great base for our visit to Quebec City »

We were looking for a centrally located hotel for our visit to Quebec City so that we didn't need to use the car a lot and this hotel was perfect. It's an up hill walk to get to the center but there is also a pubic elevator at the top of the street that made the walk a lot easier. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and all spoke excellent English. The rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was well worth the $15.99 and the bar, although small, was well stocked and friendly. The car was valet parked and only took 5 minutes for it to be brought to the hotel when needed. Upon check out, after staying for three nights, were were given free bottles of water for our drive home. That was a great touch and the first time I have experienced that at any hotel. We will definitely be staying there on our next visit to Quebec city.

    « hotel oppinion »

excellent stay. very convenient location. good price/quality ratio. you could reach the bus station by foot. numerous restaurants are in close proximity ..and the old Quebec about 20 min by foot.. will definitely return on fuiture ocassion

    4
    « Above average »

Arriving at the hotel there is a small amount of waiting space outside to park while unloading. There is no on-site parking, but the valet service is efficient. I had a fast check-in experience from the polite and friendly staff. Room was a little bit dark, and given the location of the hotel there is not much of a view. Bathroom was clean with plenty of towels and soaps, etc. There is a pleasant bar and well stocked coffee shop on site, again with friendly and attentive staff. On check-in I was given a map and instructions how to walk to the centre of the city. It is about 20 minutes walk. Overall it was a good experience without problems. I would stay there again and recommend to friends.

    5
    « A pleasant surprise »

I had concerns about travelling with my dog, but this hotel was amazing: they even gave us a 'doggy greeting bag' and special door knocker! The room was immense, right at the stairs, and a map to the green park just down the street. I felt so at ease right away, and our dog Lola was so relaxed. The valet parking is no problem at all and I only wish we had stayed longer than one night.

    3
« Not too bad, could be better »

If your have light sleep, don't book this hotel until building across the street is finished. Constant noise from 6:30 in the morning and it will wake you up for sure. Staff is friendly overall. Room are OK, you get what you pay for I guess. Could be a lot better. This is my 2nd stay at this hotel, 1st impression was a lot better.

« 3 night family stay in August »

More than I expected from a Best Western. It is very modern appointed, with comfortable rooms (big enough for a family of 4 requiring two double beds). Modern fixtures and very helpful staff. A "Nice to have" was the pool on the first floor- though it can become a bit crowded with not enough chairs when more that 8 people are at the pool. Good location to a number of restaurants - but take care, the walk to the old town can be a bit taxing. One negative was the construction across the road from the hotel - creates a bit of a traffic jam when you want to load or unload upon arrival and departure. Also, like other reviews, the aircon unit was very loud in the room. But all in all a nice stay - to be recommended.

    5
    « Outstanding »

We stayed 3 nights here in early August. Was a BIG deal trip for my wife on her *important* birthday. We were late to arrive on a flight from Toronto, but welcomed and treated so warmly by Alexandre. His customer care is number one. A beautiful king room, gorgeous clean bathroom, we were so pleased with everything. Had a lovely breakfast the next morning and off on the Hop-on,Hop-off bus tour to get our bearings. Once we knew where we were, this hotel is located in a great spot to walk to old town and other areas. Not a short walk, but absolutely walkable if you are fit to some degree. Can't say enough about the customer service - as in so many Best Western's, they seem to hire people who genuinely want to share their beautiful locations and see that people from other places have memorable experiences. We truly felt appreciated as customers. Maybe one day we will get back to Quebec City and if we do, we will stay here for sure.

    4
    « Decent Best Western »

The room was nice. New and modern fixtures, comfortable bed and they do have a safe in the room. Restaurant attached, but we did not try. We had a small camper, do we could not fit in the garage. Outside parking lot several blocks away. We were sent to the wrong lot by front desk guy and had to call to get the right lot. Other than that a nice stay. The old town of Quebec within a mile or two.

    5
« Upscale and very enjoyable »

It's a Best Western so I really didn't expect it to be so elegant. The rooms are spacious and very upscale. Wonderful, roomy bathroom. Very clean. Wonderful elegant bedding. It's only 2 blocks from a trolley stop and you can buy the tickets at the hotel. There are wonderful restaurants all around this location. Parking was reasonable for a big city hotel. You could take your car in and out at no additional charge. It was $25 per day. Other hotels I checked with charged much more and charged each time you came and went. The staff was incredibly helpful and that is important when another language is spoken. We've been traveling for 3 weeks and this was the best hotel we've stayed at.

    4
    « Many pluses »

We stayed two nights, we would rate this hotel 3.5 stars out of five, rooms were clean and modern, hotel has a good list of amenities, close to old Quebec (we took the city bus from the St. Francis stop to the d'Youville stop and walked down the popular rue du St. Jean where many attractions can be seen by walking, we parked at a public underground parking lot two blocks away for half the price of valet parking.

    5
    « Unbelievable Service »

Now this is Hotel Service at it's finest. Thank You Isabel. Or should I say, Merci We were able to do much more at check-in then just recieve a card- key. We booked tours, and the hop on hop off bus..., You name it. Restaurant reccomendations Dry cleaning services The front desk staff are where the rubber meets the road, and this team is top notch. Don't miss out on breakfast in the Hotel, there's a whole different team of professionals to serve you here! The morning coffee bar is a delight as well. You can walk from the Hotel to the Hopon-Hopoff bus, only a 3 minute walk. But hey, we walked all the way into dntn Quebec City and back! Yeah you need good footwear but Im a limper and I did it. The only draw back about the Hotel is, there is a Major construction site Right Outside The Front Door. So if you are a light sleeper, request a room on the opposite side of the bldg. The construction starts before 7am!

« Clean, Friendly & Close to downtown! »

I stay here most often when I visit Quebec. It's very close to downtown and it's very clean and quiet. The little cafe has the BEST coffee! And everyone is so helpful and friendly! Parking is slightly awkward but I've learned the ropes. The front desk staff are knowledgeable, courteous and are quick with explanations and directions. I recommend this hotel!

    4
    « Family stay »

Conenient location next to an area of restaurants and bars. About 25 mins walk to St Johns Gate Old Quebec. Rooms relatively standard with two king beds. A pet friendly hotel for about 20 dollars plus tax per night. Staff friendly. Courier parking available again at extra cost

    4
    « Great location »

This a great hotel with a wonderful location, close to some trendy cafés and restaurants on East Saint Joseph street (rue Saint-Joseph est). By the way, you are also within walking distance of an Ashton restaurant, the best place to have poutine and it's open 24 hours! There is a Metro (grocery store) nearby as well as various corner stores (dépanneur) where you can get snacks and drinks to take back to the hotel. The room that we had had a small fridge. The room was big. I'm sure we had a king size bed but it looked so big! And it is very comfortable. We had room 112 which overlooked the restaurant actually; however we did not hear any kind of noise whatsoever. I was even afraid of hearing the traffic outside since we were so close to the street on the ground floor. Nothing. I heard nothing. The bathroom was big as well. Very spacious all in all. They do have valet parking. Just park your car in the designated drop off section, chek in, and have your car parked for you.

    5
« Great situation and easy access to Old Quebec City as well as transport »

Situated within walking distance to the old city and sites. Rooms large and spacious, ours had 2 queen beds and still room to walk around. Fridge available and coffee/tea included in room. Large flat screen t.v and air conditioning in room. Breakfast available at $.,also has a dinner menu available, also a cafe for tea/coffee or wine bar. Valet parking on site for $24/day, otherwise there are parking lots around the area.,,front desk very helpful in this respect and other questions asked. Pool available on site.

    5
« Great value for money, comfortable hotel »

I got a great deal. Have stayed here before. The location is downhill from the Old Town, so a bit of a steep walk up. Quite near the bus/train station. Nice big rooms and comfortable bed. Bath tub was good for a soak after a tiring day. Restaurant is nice.

    5
    « Fantastic »

Beautiful suite! Shower was Amazing.....?? Valet parking, pool, free wifi. such curteous and friendly staff. Close to all amenities including walking to Old Quebec City if you don't mind a nice walk. Would definitely stay again.

« Good price, walking distance, but not exactly central »

My family (husband, wife, 11yr old boy) stayed here for three nights in August. We were attracted by the pool, the price, and the advertisement to be central. PROS 1 - clean and quiet 2 - pool was peaceful sometimes, and the hot tub was nice 3 - walking distance to the core 4 - very good service CONS 1 - No parking - must use valet service. $25/day with in/out privileges. There must be public lots around but I couldn't be bothered. 2 - lots of families in this hotel and everyone wants to use the pool. Photos of the pool online make it look bigger then it is. 3 - it is about a 1 kilometer walk to the city walls including a free elevator ride to get to the upper town, and then there is further walking through town 4 - breakfast not included and what is offered is pricey - go to a local place for better quality and price

    2
    « Decent »

We were going to stay for 4 nights but we checked out early and stayed for 2. For what you pay its not worth it. Good location Old Quebec is basically a 20 minute walk. Breakfast was okay but expensive. They wanted 24 bucks a day for parking but it's valet service. We parked not far from there in underground parking for two nights it was 20 bucks! Our first night our shower drain was clogged. They said they would fix it the next day which was fine but I was basically taking a bath instead of a shower. The rooms do need upgrading for sure!

« Friendly Staff, great location »

A few friends and I recently stayed here, while visiting the area, we had two twin rooms, which were a nice size, with a nice clean bathroom. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, who looked after our every need. The breakfast was great, and very reasonably priced with very friendly staff. The hotel is in a nice location to explore the north of the city. I would definitely stay here again if I was in Quebec city.

« Nicer old hotel but a long walk from old city »

The hotel staff and facilities were pleasant, although a bit dated. The beds were softer than we liked, and the dog walk park was three blocks away across a busy street. The price was fair, and anything closer to the old city was not pet friendly and more expensive.

    « Loved Our Room! »

Despite being a Best Western, this hotel had a higher-end feel. Our bathroom was luxuriously large (as was the room) and had multiple shower heads. The room was beautifully decorated and impeccably cleaned. The attention to detail made it feel like a luxury hotel; I loved staying here. The bellboys and front hotel staff were super helpful, timely, and responsive. We had some rather expensive bicycles with us, and they secured them for us in a locked room--handling them didn't even phase them, which eased our worries about our bikes getting stolen or damaged. The cafe connected to the hotel also has some rather outstanding baguette sandwiches, but if you want to travel out, the hotel is rather ideally located near some fantastic restaurants--that are enough off the beaten path to be free of too many tourists but close enough to the city center to be high quality. Would definitely stay here again.

« Nice hotel but a bit of a hike to Old Quebec. »

We stayed in the hotel for two nights while we toured Quebec City on our way to PEI. We were looking for a hotel very close to old Quebec -- one where we could park the car at the hotel and walk everywhere, as opposed to having to drive and find parking. We selected this hotel as it was one of the few that were available and we believed it was right next to old Quebec. As it turned out, it was quite a walk -- much further than we had expected. As for the hotel itself, it was quite nice and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was also a nice pool (albeit with very cool water) and a nice happy hour that we enjoyed one evening. The room itself was a bit small, but was adequate as a place to sleep. The one problem was that the air conditioning unit below the window didn't do a good job cooling the entire room -- to get the room cool enough, the person in the bed next to the window got really cold. Note: This was much less a problem the second night as had returned to the hotel in the evening and turned on the AC when we went out for dinner. We could then turn it off when we went to bed. Given the amount of money we spent for the hotel room plus parking, I don't think we received value for money. Next time we will book much more in advance and hopefully find something much closer to our destination. Alternatively, we'll stay in Levis, park at the ferry terminal, and take the ferry to Old Quebec. That will save over $100 per night.

Great clean room with friendly staff who speak both English and French. Location has stores and restaurants around. You can walk to the old city in about 15 minutes. Parking is by valet. Small bar is fun and there is a restaurant at the hotel. A super place to stay in Quebec City. The staff are very helpful in suggesting places to visit!

    « BEST WESTERN - QUEBEC CITY »

During our stay even though it was short, we found our stay a wonderful experience, the staff at this Best Western were not only helpful but they were polite and professional. I would recommend this Best Western in a heart beat. Hats off to you staff at the Best Wester Quebec Citty, you make us very proud as Quebecers

« Very Clean and Comfortable »

We stayed here for one night on our way to Halifax. Check in was handled easily and we were offered information on sites to see. We were made to feel welcome. The room was just what we needed: clean, comfortable and an excellent breakfast to start us on our journey for the day!

« Great Stay, Helpful staff »

My wife and I stayed here for our 5yr anniversary trip to Old Quebec City. We arrived by train just outside the city. Public transit can reach the hotel within a block, or a taxi was about $25 CAN. We arrived to early for our room to be ready, but the staff were friendly and helpful. We wanted to walk around and they suggested a wonderful breakfast spot my wife and I loved, and offered to hold our bags till they had our room ready. After we arrived back, we were checked in and given lots of information about things to do, and places to visit. The hotel is not the closest to downtown old Quebec, but we love walking and it only took about 15min to walk into the old portion of Quebec City. All around it was a great stay.

« Good hotel in Quebec City »

We stayed her for two nights. First night was a courtyard room, second night an executive king. Both rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It is about a twenty minute walk to the old town. Two routes..one takes you up to the upper town, the other troupe takes you along to the liver town. Parking is $24 day. We parked in a large lot three blocks away, off Dorchester, for $12. Less money and we did not have to wait for 15 minutes while the valet fetched the car. There is a wonderful bakery two blocks south just off Dorchester. We had quiche for breakfast. Highly recommend it.

« Great staff, clean rooms, wonderful breakfast »

Just came back from a wonder stay in Quebec City. Great staff and wonderful breakfast. Renault in the dining room was great to our whole family and his tremendous sense of humor made us feel very welcome. Cami in reception was really helpful and pointed out all of the interesting sites to see such as the free circus (like Cirque de Soleil) in the city. Overall very happy with cleanliness of rooms and hotel. What a beautiful city and tremendous people.

« Good for the price »

About a 15 minute walk away from downtown. Parking is ~25/night which seems a bit much. They say you can look for parking elsewhere but after a long drive, who has the stamina to look for lots in an unknown area? Nearby construction was not a problem for us as our room was not near the site. Didn't eat at any of the connected eateries as the nearby restaurants were too good to miss. Overall, we felt like we got what we needed at a decent price.

    3
    « Good enough »

Paid $260.00 for a Friday night stay. The gave us the room closest to the lobby on the first floor which is noisy. Very annoying to be on first floor because of early morning smokers talking loudly outside our window on the street. Beds comfortable. Room is adequate. Annoying that there is no switch to turn the lights on and you have to go from light to light at switch them on at the base. Old gym equipment and not much of it. Pool highly chlorinated and kids permitted in the not so hot hot tub - gross. Nice free newspaper in the morning. The front desk made us a reservation at Lapin Sauté but the restaurant had us in for another night and no record for the night we requested. We were standing in front of the desk person who made it at the hotel and believe it was the restaurant that messed up. The hotel was good to make us a reservation as we don't speak French. For $260 I expect more from a hotel. More luxury, better gym, finer rooms, and not a room in the lobby

    « Amazing huge beds »

It is unfortunate we only got to spend one night in Quebec city as we wanted to move on a see the fireworks in montreal. This hotel had the biggest comfiest bed we have every slept on, a great nights sleep. The hotel location is good and is walkable to anywhere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Coming from England we have never used valet parking before so had no idea what to do but the guys were very helpful, shame we were only here one night

    « Expensive »

Overall experience: acceptable. However street hasard due to construction makes arrival at hotel very unpleasant. Parking charges very costly. Executive room very nice, especially the size of the shower...cool.

« Best Western City Center »

Nice hotel, great rooms... clean, all amenities. Parking is off site but Valet is available with in/out as many times as needed. Indoor pool was great for the kids, central to all tourist attractions!

    « Ditch the gym »

On arrival the reception staff were extremely helpful and sought to position us away from the building site noise. The room was a pleasant, clean and had two queen side beds. There was an adequate fridge and coffee making facilities. The bathroom etc was up to scratch. The swimming pool and wet areas were good. However, the gym was a phone box as three is a big crowd in this area. The bike needs maintenance. My advice rather than do lip service to exercise, get rid of this area or do it right. A very solid hotel and good value.

    « Absolutely fantastic stay »

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Best Western Plus this past week. We were there for 3 nights. We had originally checked into another hotel and being it not what was advertised we were forced to look at booking elsewhere. The agent over the phone was very kind and provided us with an early check in. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. The agent at the front desk gave us a room on the executive level that was absolutely perfect for our family of four with a stroller and other belongings, the room was huge and clean. It had a fridge that came in handy for snacks for our children as well as a Keurig machine for that much needed morning coffee. This was our first vacation as a family in years and we couldn't have had a better time. The pool (albeit a bit on the cold side but that is my only comment) was clean and had pool noodles for the kids to play with was a great addition. The one comment to stand out is to the housekeeping staff, they went above and beyond on making sure the room was absolutely deep cleaned each day. I have stayed in many hotels and I have to say, this was our best all around stay we have ever had. I have actually worked as a Front desk agent for Starwood properties as well as a Best Western so I am proud of the brand but the Best Western Plus in Quebec city has a fantastic team of employees who go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Thank you very much for the hospitality, we will definitely be back.

« Wonderful spot not far from Old Quebec City »

What a great hotel, with friendly and really helpful staff and valet parking. Our room was vast and included a fridge, robes, tea and coffee facilities and the biggest bed i've ever seen in a hotel room. The shower was amazing...rain effect from the centre and a normal head as well. The gentleman that checked us in was fab, he told us where we needed to visit as we only had a day and offered advice on micro breweries and a free show at the port. We had a wonderful nights sleep and will def book with Best Western Plus again.

    « will go back »

Friendly and fast service, clean room, comfortable bed, fridge, safe in the room for your valuable and about 15 minutes walk from old Quebec. Great spot in the middle of cartier St -Rock, lots to visit juste there.

« Most reception staff I have seen »

This is good value for money and 20/30 minute walk into Old Quebec. Staff are very friendly and rooms a good size. Onsite restaurant and cafe are both good and reasonably priced. Better options closer to Old Quebec with a bit more atmosphere but overall stay was good. Taxi fare to Old Quebec $7-$10. Supermarket 3 blocks walk towards Old Quebec, convenience store on next block, 20 metres to left of cafe.

    5
« It really was a 20 minute walk to Old Quebec! »

Looking at the map, I was skeptical, but take advantage of the free public elevator, and it really is an easy walk to Old City. The room was very large and had an interesting setup. We were happy to have a refrigerator since the hotel doesn't offer breakfast, but a microwave would have been nice too. Room was very clean when we arrived, but the room refresh while we were there left a little to be desired. Overall I would definitely recommend.

« Central but a climb to "Old Quebec" »

The check-in was fast and easy with Francois. However, there is construction going on at the area, so the taxi that brought us to the hotel stopped a few meters back. The front entrance was busy, and being on the ground floor, it was the only entrance access. It was fairly central, but if you want to concentrate your tour in the "Old Quebec", pick a hotel closer to the area. The amenities in the room was okay, but being three people, we were always short of coffee. It was not the "cleanest" or most up-to-date room, but for three short days it was fine.

    3
    « Extras Add Up »

We had intended to stay in Levis on our trip between NB and Ontario, but everything there was booked, so we decided to stay on the North side of the River. The hotel is located mid-city and is a bit dated. The accommodations were OK. We paid $160 for the room, which I guess is OK for this area. The extras got us. $24 for parking and $16 to watch a movie. The cafe was also a tad expensive. We had time to explore the neighbourhood, which was quite rewarding. There are a number of bars and cafes in a three block radius. We had breakfast at a little bakery a block away in the morning.

    5
    « Very nice hotel »

The rooms are so clean and nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable. Also it is not hard to find parking. The check in staff explained very well to my questions. This is one of the best Best Western hotel that I have stayed with. Highly recommend for those, even the first timer, to try this hotel.

    « Great hotel »

The service from the reservation with Etienne was great , we were greeted by Alexandre at the front desk which gave us a great welcoming to the hotel. The room was very clean and the bed was great . We will definitely return to this hotel.

    « Nice location »

There are a lot of shops and restaurants along St. Jean which is a block away. Walking to Old Quebec will take around 20 minutes. The hotel has a pool and fitness area. The restaurant at the hotel had great food at average prices. The room was comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel definitely needs some remodeling in the near future.

The people over here at Best Western hotel go beyond the call of duty. They make sure every details are cover your you. This is a place to try to make a reservation. 12 out of 10 for us . Very good location everything is walking distance. No need to drive

    « Be prepared »

We simply did not know that valet parking was our only reasonable parking option. Sure, there are several public parking garages nearby. But after traveling for eight hours who wants to lug their luggage, dog and cooler all over? I wish we had been better prepared for our arrival. It is within walking distance to rue st jean, with many cute shops, restaurants and a lovely park where you can read books the library leaves out. In theory, you can walk to the old city, but we found it tiring. Especially after walking all over the old sections! The price of our room seemed high, considering it didn't come with breakfast. But we had last minute reservations and an annual music festival had taken up most hotel rooms. Duran Duran! Cool. The hot tub and pool were nice. The elevators are really slow, and crowded. We waited for awhile to get down several times. Also, there is construction right across the street. We were fortunate to be visiting on weekend when they weren't working. Our dog hated it! No real place to walk....there's a park a few blocks away but it was really crowded. I especially didn't like that hotel guests walked outside and smoked just a few inches from the door. I shouldn't have to walk through a huge cloud of second hand smoke to enter an expensive hotel.

« Our room was big and very comfortable »

We have stayed here before, the price is right, it has great amenities and is 15 minute walk to Old Quebec City. This hotel truley has everything you need. It is also vlose to some nice restaurants if you do not want to eat at Bistro 330. We ate there for the buffet breakfast (I am not a big fan of buffets but it was good). The cafe has a good assortment of food and for each night you stay you receive a 2 for 1 drink special.

    3
    « Okay for a couple nights. »

We found this hotel to be a bit "tired." I think, from what we saw in the area, renovations could be in the works. Our room was quite large but also smelled like old tennis shoes. We had to run the AC fan constantly to keep the stagnant smell out. The people at the desk were very helpful with ways to get to the places we wanted to see.. It is also located close to the hop-on-hop-off bus so easy to get anywhere from there. It's about a 25 minute walk to old town Quebec from the hotel.

  • 3
« Update in the works. »

View from our room was onto the parking lot and other rooms of hotel. The room was clean, quiet and beds comfortable. The parking and front desk staff were pleasant and informative. The distance to the old City by foot was far but by bike or bus was okay. Be careful this City has a very BAD reputation for Bike Thefts!

    4
    « Spacious, quiet room »

My sister and I stayed here over the weekend. We were placed on the business executive floor with a room overlooking the atrium. The room was a nice size and the beds were comfortable. For a hotel, it was the quietest room I have been in. I don't recall hearing doors slamming or people outside the room. What a pleasant surprise. The front desk staff was very helpful and nice as well. There were a few local restaurants nearby that made for a short walk for some breakfast. It was a bit of walk into Old Quebec from the hotel with several large hills, but we enjoyed the exercise and learned the route very quickly. I would definitely consider this location if I were back in Quebec City in the future. It's been years since I stayed in a Best Western and I was quite pleased. We did not try the bar or onsite restaurants or other amenities so I can not comment on those.

    4
« Good Hotel in the heart of city!!! »

Room was nice and spacious. The amenities in the room were nice and clean. If you wanna walk around explore the city this place would work great. Situated downhill it takes just 10-15 mins walk to reach the old Quebec town. For the price paid the I expected the breakfast to be included but that was not case. Had to pay 15.99 for the breakfast buffet. But the food selection and the quality was very good. Overall a comfortable stay and will comeback again.

    2
« Ovepriced and dated hotel with far from friendly staff »

There is nothing 'Plus' about this hotel. There is a $25 parking fee, though no staff will share information on the $5 underground parking across the street. Upon arrival, amidst construction, the lobby is crammed, and there was no where to park for valet parking on the street. When we finally got checked in after a very un efficient process, they had us in a damp, smelly corner room on a low floor of a busy intersection; despite our request for a quiet location upon booking. It was agonizing and time consuming to change rooms while waiting for one of two desk clerks during this music festival weekend. The second room isn't in any better condition, with damp and smelly carpet, peeling wallpaper and an air conditioner that rivals a Lada. Room service was fair, only tucking in the sheets and not finishing pillows. Linens and towels are due to be replaced. The room and hallway do not appear to have been vacuumed during our 3 day stay, if they were perhaps it's time to acquire a newer vacuum. The restaurant is dark, overpriced and I certainly wouldn't recommend it considering you can walk a block to amazing cafes and boulangers for local, authentic fare. The pool deck is hazzardous, far too slippery: warning. The location is good, if you don't mind walking. We won't be returning.

    5
« Great room, location and service just a 15 minute walk from the gates of the old city »

Spotlessly clean hotel throughout. Room was comfortably sized for 2 adults. Bed was very comfortable. Everything worked as it was supposed to. Staff were superb. Cafe-In restaurant was very good. Just a 12 minute easy walk from the VIA Rail station. Old City Bus tour stop #2 is 3 minutes away and is a great way to get back and forth if the weather is poor or your walking tour has tired you out.

    « Very nice stay »

I highly recommend staying at the Best Western Plus City Centre! From early check-in to late check-out, a clean and comfortable room, friendly staff, this hotel really made our stay in Quebec City, a wonderful one.. The little things make the difference: A front desk employee printed off a google walking map for my daughter and I. They also charged my KOBO when asked. They provided us with bowls and cutlery minutes after phoning it in at the Reception desk. It's the little personalized touches that made the difference and I would definitely stay here again! Well worth it!! :) Oh yes, loved the mini fridge in the room. We were able to buy breakfast and lunch items and keep them cool. Saved us some $$. Always a bonus!

    « Nice & clean »

I was a little nervous booking at The Best Western. I have stayed at some BW's that were quite run down. This location was really good!! The lobby was always busy but the staff were very helpful. Our room was very very clean!!! Location - it is an up hill hike to the Old City. We enjoyed the 20 min walk but agree with the other comments - if you are out of shape - take a taxi or stay closer to the old city. We enjoyed eating and shopping in the local neighbourhood on St.John Street. There is a beautiful Catholic Church very close to the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and have recommended it friends/family!!

    « Lost cameras & tablet »

We checked out very early (5:45 a.m.) the morning of July 1, 2016. We asked the front desk to break a bill to tip the valet. My husband set his camera bag down to take out his wallet and left the bag in front of the front desk. When we called to see if they had it, we received poor and unfriendly service, had to wait 3 days to get a reply (by email) from the lost and found to say the bag was not found. This bag had 2 Olympus cameras (1 silver regular digital camera and 1 red Tough waterproof digital camera) and a Samsung tablet with a black and white newsprint case. We have lost our valuables as well as our irreplaceable pictures. As we were on the only guests checking out at that early time, we feel the staff there are not honest or trustworthy.

« A little of France in North America! »

A very good hotel, located right downtown and just a short walk from the old quarter of Quebec City. An excellent restaurant is located in the hotel, along with a bar/bistro, and there is a varied selection of eateries around the immediate area. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the reception staff were most helpful and welcoming. At the time of our stay, the hotel also welcomed dogs, and provided treats and food bowls for our pet, as well as making a great fuss of him when checking in. Would definitely stay at this hotel again, as well as recommending it to others.

« Good location depending on what you want »

As others have said it is a 25 minute walk up a hill to get to the old city. But the old city can be pretty crazy, swarmed with people and difficult to drive. The Best Western is in the more normal part of the city. There are reasonable priced bars and restaurants nearby, but you can get to the old city when needed, and have a less hectic time. In some ways the hotel seems budget- doesn't look great on the outside, construction nearby. The AC was the noisy on-off type. But the rooms and bathroom were large, pretty quiet in the room. Great bi-lingual staff very helpful with directions. Restaurant is good as is the coffee shop. We were glad we stayed here.

« Really nice and quiet »

I am still here as I write this...very happy thus far. We parked our rental car a couple of blocks away for much cheaper than the hotel...so that's a money saving option. It is a hike to the Old City, but there is an elevator right beside the stairs. I would not want the noise or expense of being in the old city center...nice bakery just a couple of blocks over on Joseph. The staff are very nice and helpful. The room had everything one needs for a pleasant stay (Keurig, iron, robes, wifi). Highly recommended!

    « OK stay »

The value for Quebec City is decent. I booked on priceline and got a good rate. However, its a 25 min walk to old Quebec and the return trip is all up hill. We used ubber a few times and it cost $8-10, but they were not running overly late on a weekend. The hotel is a bit more dated than I expected. The room was fine, nothing special, but clean. It suited our needs. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were pretty flat so I woke up to some neck pain. The staff is friendly and helpful. There aren't many great options for parking in the area so add $24 + tax per day for valet parking. If you're willing to walk a few blocks there are some lots around; you might save $10/day. Of course all of the signage will be in French.

« great bed and great service »

My granddaughter and I had a fabulous week in Quebec City and much of it was due to the friendly helpful service we received at the hotel. The arrangements they made to us with tours and restaurant suggestions were perfect. We spent 7 days and were able to see and do every thing we wanted to and more. The pool was nice, too, but I wanted a place to enjoy the outside areas and the construction around the hotel made it rather difficult to do that. It was close to shopping and the Red bus pickup. We felt like we were abroad yet everyone could speak Ehglish!

« Very Pleasant Stay at Best Western Plus »

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Plus for three nights whilst touring Candada. Quebec was by far one of my favourite places although it's not cheap. The hotel was relatively cheap for the area at £170.00 for three nights. This is likely because it's a little on the outskirts and it's a fairly long walk into Old Quebec. The public transport unlike Tornonto and Montreal isn't the best but taxis are relatively cheap. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and quick to provide maps of the area, order taxis for us etc. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. There are computers which are free to use for guests and free wifi or faster wifi for a small charge. There is a swimming pool and a coffee shop and restaurant within the hotel. We ate at both and found them to be OK. The hotel room was spacious, clean and of a high standard. The bed was large and comfortable, with a nice big TV, free use of a safe, ensuite bathroom etc. Although a free breakfast was not included in the price of the hotel a breakfast was available at the hotel. There are plenty of places to eat and drink within a short walk of the hotel. Should I return to Quebec I would stay at this hotel again.

    « Good stay!!! »

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Centreville for one night. I really enjoyed my stay. The living area and the bathroom are spacious and very clean. I tend to like rooms with a modern decor, but really enjoyed the traditional decor in the Executive King Room. This hotel is an excellent value for the price. Regardless of the comfort of the room, I would have rated my stay very high because of Anne-Julie, Nicholas and Michael. Anne-Julie is extremely nice, personable, informative and helpful. She goes over and beyond to make sure you are fully informed about the area and that you enjoy your stay. At the time I checked in, there were so many others checking in so I assumed I was another face in the crowd. I was shocked and impressed when she remembered my husband and I when we returned to the hotel later from a wonderful trip to the falls due to her excellent advice on how to get there. Later, we dined at the Bistro. Again, stellar customer service. The restaurant was close to closing time but Nicholas treated us as if we were his first customers of the day. He was very kind and friendly. We were able to enjoy our dinner without feeling rushed or if we were imposing on his quitting time. Upon departure, Michael rounded out the great customer service. He was very kind and secured a cab for us. Hands down this is among the best customer service that I have received. Quebec City is great and coupled with our amazing experience at BW, we regretted our decision to only spend one day/night. We would have loved to stay longer if our schedule permitted. About the location, it is very close to everything IF you are a walker. If not, the public transportation system is excellent and right outside the door step. (Sidebar: You need to be somewhat fit because of the hills and inclines to get to the old city).

Pros: Spacious well equipped room, friendly and helpful staff, lovely pool Cons: Quite a walk to Old Town Stayed three nights in this hotel and found the front desk staff very accommodating and received a nice welcome gift bag. Room itself was clean, very well equipped and contained a bed made for a giant, had a great nights sleep!

    « Disappointed »

After a long day of riding I expected much more from the Best Western chain. The place is clean and comfortable but the welcome was less than what was expected. They offered a gift on check in of a bottle of water and your choice of a bruised banana or an apple. Really most other Best Westerns this comes complimentary not a special gift! Location doesn't seem the safest outside the hotel.

The Best Western Quebec (Centreville) is at the upper end of a 3 star in a location nearby the tourist section. Often you can get a good rate, so this should be considered a value hotel. Do not let the entrance and the lobby concern you, as the construction makes everything look pretty shabby and cramped, but my room was nice. The hotel is entirely non-smoking. I was checked in quickly by a friendly agent and she gave me the room type I requested, and because there were a lot of youth groups in the hotel, my room was upgraded. The elevators can be slow during peak times. My room was on the larger size of what one would expect from this category hotel. My room had a comfortable king size bed, large flat screen TV (with lots of channels in French), average but comfortable furniture, a free safe, and k-cup coffee service (missing in the other 4 stars in which I stayed in Canada). The bathroom had a goodly amount of counter space, shower tub combination, lots of standard towels, and a cute 3 bottle/jar amenity service with extra items. The internet was free, allowed you to connect up to 3 devices, and had an acceptable speed. You sign on with your last name and room number. The tourist section is about a 15 minute walk, either up a ramp road (lower section) or via stairs (upper section). It is not difficult for walkers, but some may choose to use Uber on the trip up. The front desk gave me a map and marked the streets to use. Some of the best rated restaurants are in this section of town, though they do not have the ambiance of the old section (great for foodies) The reviews seem to focus on the problems with parking, apparently due to the construction next door. If you use their valet service, it is $24 a day with in/out privileges; they get to pick where they put your car. There is free on-street overnight parking (4PM to 8AM) an 8 minute walk away (by the park), but this will not work for parking your car in the daytime. The breakfast is a little expensive (there is a Starbucks three tiny blocks away) but the dinner prices were about the same as you will find around town. If you do not want to pay the very high prices for Quebec hotels, you will find this one to be perfectly acceptable and I liked it.

    « Convenient, affordable luxury »

Very impressed with in room amenities, which included bathrobes and overhead shower. Within 10-15 minutes to old Quebec and train station. Steps to many restaurants, stores, and pharmacy Only odd thing was no shower in pool area

« Solid hotel that needs to »

The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are clean, the location seems pretty central to what you would need and everything was clean. They have their base business down well. The hotel parking is unmarked and you may end up parked there thinking you found free parking. Not sure if they tow, but it's confusing. We mentioned this to the staff, but they didn't seem to understand what the issue was. Not sure why they even have valet parking as they basically dropped our car off just outside of the exit to the lot, parked it illegally and left the flashers on. The whole valet situation seemed poorly organized as they have three or four guys, the lot is less than two minutes to walk to, but they want ten minutes notice to get your car.

« Nice stay in Quebec »

We travelled from Montreal to Quebec to meet a cousin from Europe visiting Quebec for a conference. No complaints re hotel. We had a quiet room away from the construction across the street. The staff were friendly, spoke both French and English. We took a taxi to go to Old Quebec, but walked down the steep hill. Lots of choices for the buffet breakfast. Internet was fast enough.

    « Excellent Service »

I realize there was construction immediately across the road from the hotel which did impede the unloading/loading process. I hope this will be rectified once the construction is complete. Our room was very cozy with lots of room. The mattresses do need to be replaced and the carpets need a good cleaning. I was not impressed that when we were leaving we had to walk half a block to get our car. I think the valet service needs some tuning. Last but not least the tiles in the pool area are very slippery when wet. This can easily be rectified with acid etching. All in all a very enjoyable time. Our daughter from Alberta enjoyed herself very much.

    « Short stay.... »

I recently stayed at this hotel only just for a night as I was visiting old quebec city. The lobby was clean and staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming. Parking is quiet expensive and is not included in the room rate and is valet only which I found a little slow and delayed us slightly. Our room was clean on first appearance though when using the television I found a substantial amount of dust on the top and on screen on the television. Bathroom was very clean though I noticed a very strong odour of dampness when the fan/light was on. In terms of location I found the location good and central to most things though if only visiting for old quebec city I would personally choose something within old quebec city next time. I decided on the buffet for breakfast which I thought was a little overpriced. Staff on checkout were quick and efficient and very friendly. Though I had a few minor issues I certainly could not fault the staff as they were very efficient and friendly..

    « Pretty Good »

Although it's a tad on the expensive side this hotel is worth the extra. The staff are outstanding, extremely helpful and very responsive to requests. The staff is also very bilingual so having poor/little french is not a handicap. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The restuarant we thought initially was rather pricey but, once we got out into the city we realized that the prices were actually pretty similar to everywhere else. Only negative is that it has valet parking so there is a wait to get your car, 10-15 minutes so you having plan your schedule accordingly

    « Best hotel »

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel room was very clean and spacious as it was a corner one, on the fourth floor. No problems at all. Staff very accommodating and courteous. A great stay. They gave us a warm welcome with gifts of fruit and water which was a surprise.

    4
    « Clean and friendly »

Stayed in a 2 queen suite for one night. Pool, hot tub well maintained. Didn't have breakfast there. There is a fitness room but didn't use it. Too short a stay. A little walk to old Quebec...thought it was closer, but it gave us reason to be outdoors. In the heart of Saint Roche. Well organized, valet parking at 24$ a night, all hours. Weather is colder than Montreal, especially in the open space behind Chateau Frontenac. Bring a sweater or jacket! The staff are friendly and speak both English and French.

    2
    « Not worth it »

This hotel looks like a good value for money at first sight but it's actually not a good deal. The breakfast is overpriced, and parking very expensive. Be careful, it is only a valet parking which makes you loose time as they do not allow you to get your car without calling them. The staff is below average and not very accommodating (except for valet service). The old Quebec is located at a 15/20 min walking distance. There was a lot of works in the surroundings when we came to this hotel May/June 2016. There is other options for a better breakfast nearby. The fitness room is the worst I have ever seen in a hotel. There is much better value for money in the Old Quebec and around this hotel. I would never stay there again.

« Awesome stay at this hotel! »

We had read great reviews and this hotel did not disappoint! Huge family suite that was spacious enough to sleep our family of 6 The customer service at the front desk was amazing! They took the time to make great recommendations for sightseeing for our family Awesome welcome bags w fruit and water Great cafe and nice pool Good location...we used the #1 bus when the kids were tired or it was rainy otherwise we walked everywhere! We will definitely be back! Loved this hotel and the staff made our stay outstanding!

    « Well Situated »

Best Western Plus is situated on Rue Saint Joseph and Rue de la Corrone, in the heart of Saint-Roche, a newly reviving quarter of Québec City. A king bed in a room with extra floorspace on the 6th floor/business suites, a room without much of a view but still an excellent choice location/ $510 before taxes for five nights. Bed was comfortable and housekeeping was attentive. Hotel staff was helpful, and restaurant downstairs was excellent for breakfast. Unlike most BestWesterns, breakfast was not included. Free but limited wifi (enough to just get e-mail done, but one enough to stream a movie), also unlike most BestWesterns. Valet parking available for $24/day, pretty much on par for Québec city but add $5 tip every time the car is brought around is customary. Location couldn't be better for an easy walk along Rue St Joseph or over to Église Saint Roch or pubs further along; also a reasonable walk to the Plaines of Abraham and the Old City. Not unhappy.

« Great place to stay »

This hotel is lovely -- reasonably priced; close to a number of excellent restaurants; large, recently updated rooms (with lots of outlets to charge our abundance of electronic devices!); top-notch staff; and spotlessly clean (including the pool and hot tub). Also, the coffee shop makes a yummy grilled cheese sandwich! We'll definitely stay here again. One minor complaint: after a long day of touring, we returned to the hotel eager to use the pool... only to find that it had closed early because it had been rented out to a junior high school. Very disappointing.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Close enough to the new Quebec and a short walk to the old Quebec. Close to lots of shops and restaurants. The room was clean and tidy and large enough to walk around. On the second floor facing the restaurant and a corridor. Noise was not a factor. The only complaint is that we couldn't open the windows for fresh air and the room was dark even with the lights on. There was no central ceiling lights. Just desk lamps. It always appeared dark. The staff were great especially the girls in reception.

Nice hotel and excellent service. Staff very amicable and good service at the bar and for breakfast offering brunch for breakfast. Good valet service and on time. My wife and I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel.

    « Great Summer Stay »

Stayed in July 2015 for Le Festival d'été de Québec. The weather was perfect. This hotel is in a good location to everything in the city, it is not a close to the "main attractions" but the city itself is very walkable. It is kind of at the bottom of the hill so to speak but if you are okay with walking it is reasonably priced and staff is top notch. The hotel is updated, very clean, great pool and hot tub. The majority of the staff speak both french and english which is extremely helpful. The city itself is almost completely french but as long as you attempt to speak french and are polite to the locals you will do fine! Overall it was a great stay and one of the nicer Best Westerns I've stayed in.

    « Quebec City Excellence »

An older property updated. Very pleasant staff. Good cuisine, especially at dinner. French language skills by anglophones are supported. Bed very good. The hotel is two blocks from the city bus route which takes one to Vieux Quebec. Twenty minute walk to the railway station, which also is the bus depot.

    « Great for a long weekend »

For our anniversary, I wanted to go away....not too far from home....a place we never visited. Quebec City was perfect and this Best Western was wonderful. We do not speak a word of French & the staff were so professional, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, fluent in English & had a sense of humor. We could not have had a better time in this City. The hotel is away from all the typical tourist shops but there were many stores & restaurants,. We did a lot of walking, public transportation and 1 tour. You do not need a car in QC. The room was very comfortable, modern & clean. We stayed on the side away from location construction. BRAVO to this hotel & staff.

    « A pleasant stay »

The room was clean, spacious and modern. The hotel has good amenities including a fridge in the room and free Wi-Fi. The bathroom was nice with a good shower. There is also a nice, small bar on the ground floor with friendly staff. The hotel is well located with the old town a 15 minute walk or short bus ride away. We stayed four nights and enjoyed our stay in Quebec City and in the hotel. We felt there was room for improvement with the breakfast. Very average buffet and the coffee was room temperature. I would recommend this hotel but perhaps grab breakfast in town.

    4
    « Good location - Friendly staff »

The staff was very friendly all around, the room was clean. Overall it was pretty quiet, though we could hear our neighbours and their conversation very clearly at 1am, this seemed to not occur at any other time. The only oddity to us was that our room window faced an indoor hallway and the restaurant below. It took us a while to find the hidden blinds which we had closed the entire time. The interior of the room was visible from the hallway (we checked), so if we returned we would likely request a room with a window to outside, not inside the hotel. The food in the restaurant is very good, we had both dinner and breakfast. They use real maple syrup which was a nice change from most chain hotels. The valet service was quick and easy. If we come back to QC we would likely stay here again.

    4
« great location free wifi nice pool »

Only thing that would've made it better would be free breakfast! comfortable bed. nice mini fridge in room. Took bus 80 from airport and it dropped us 4blocks from hotel. Only important thing to note here is that you have to walk 20minutes from airport to reach city bus stop. Why there isn't a bus that goes all way to airport is odd. Recommend stopping by info desk at aiport for helpful map, and then at "Uniprix" near bus stop to buy bus pas if you don't have exact change for bus.

« good hotel downtown Quebec city »

Good staff very polite. The people were very polite every time to talk to them. The room are pretty. The main challenge is to get to parking and pick up your car. The street were under construction so it was a bit quiet around. I have to drop my car at the corner of the street then next day walk 2 minutes to pick it up. The WIFI was not good at all I sent a note to the manager. I could not use it. I guess there is a bar. I could barely see something in the glass but it was closed. The location is close to grande allée street, close to most highways without the noise attached to. So it is very easy to leave Quebec city from this spot. Close to attraction spots but a bit insulated. Good for business trip.

    « Lovely »

We had a very nice stay, the room is beautiful and updated. The hot tub was great after walking the city all day. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The parking is 24 dollars but compared to any other city parking it is quite reasonable.

« Wonderful staff and hotel »

Excellent stay. Staff made me feel welcome from arrival to departure -were extremely polite, courteous and professional. Room was clean with superior bed, bedding and furnishings. I would recommend this hotel as it is a very great value.

« Family stay for three nights »

We checked into the hotel at 0200 hours, front desk staff were friendly and provided us with free fresh fruit, cereal bars and cookies for the kids. Parking is valet only at an additional cost of $24.00 a day. At the time of check in it was a challenge to find a place to unload our car as the main enterance, is on a one way street, with a portion of the road blocked off due to construction across the street. Our room and bathroom were clean. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure; however, the water is hard. Beds were comfortable and even though the hotel was busy we were not disturbed by the noise of others.

    4
« A good experience for a one night stay »

My wife, daughter and I spent a pleasant stay in this establishment. The front desk staff were excellent and whilst the parking has been commented on elsewhere, we read the terms and knew of it in advance so "no problemo". All-in-all, very good and we would stay here again should we revisit Quebec.

    « short visit »

We recently booked 3 rooms and stayed for 2 nights - the location and rooms were good, the breakfast buffet that was included in the price was excellent. The dinner however was horrible - not worth the wait or the money. We waited 2 hours and spent over $250 for burgers, salad and a some pasta. We probably could have gotten much better food and pay less if we had gone elsewhere. In addition, parking was overprice especially when the lot was right next to the hotel.

    2
« Very nice hotel...play on words in parking advertisement on booking sites. »

Everything was great...except for the price of parking. I have never in my life paid that much for hotel parking. I know we were told it wasn't mandatory, but we are very unfamiliar with the area and spending time searching for legal Street parking or nearby lots was not an option. I booked on hotwire and it said accessible parking. I looked around elsewhere as well and it does say there is a fee for the valet service, but it should be mandatory to advertise the price that is being charged. I would never have booked this hotel knowing the price. The most I've ever paid was $10 per night which was absolutely fine. But $24 + tax per night...completely unacceptable not to advertise that. I booked on hotwire so there was no way for me to call the hotel for information before I booked because it was a blind booking. Once I booked it was too late to cancel. I feel like I was tricked.

    « Beautiful hotel;inconvenient location »

My small group stayed here 2 nights. The staff, accommodations and breakfasts were superior. However, even though the hotel was over half empty they put us on the side near the construction zone so I woke up at 6:00AM both mornings when the construction started. If you stay here plan on using your own vehicle or plan on spending $10 each way for a taxi to and from Vieux Quebec. We walked it the first morning and it took 44 minutes to get to Vieux Quebec even though it states you are only .8 miles away We may have gotten there in 30 mins had we not slowed down to enjoy the views but it is definitely a long walk!

    5
« Great value and great staff! »

The staff was very professional! The location is good! We will go again. Ask for Gilbert at the restaurant;-) The family is welcomed! But parking was to expensive. You can have underground parking in front; in the Bibliothèque Gabrielle-Roy' s building...

    3
« Average hotel, terrible parking situation »

We had a difficult time finding this hotel as its on a small side street and wasn't well marked. The one way street has a huge pot hole right in front of the entrance. The on street parking just to check in is virtually non-existent. Then they only have valet parking at an expensive $25 per night. It is the only option for parking however as there isn't any local parking nearby. The hotel itself is well cared for. Rooms were relatively clean and quiet, however they are exceedingly small. Our family of 4 were tripping over each other in the room. The pool has a maximum capacity of 10 people so obviously isn't large. We booked online and only paid $89 per night but once you factor in the parking and size of the room it was not worth what we paid. Internet was included and worked quite well.

« Wonderful stay in Quebec City! »

My husband and I booked this hotel for three nights and loved it so much that we stayed for another! I have honestly not met a more accommodating and friendly front desk staff than at the Best Western Plus City Centre. When we checked into our hotel room, it smelled of smoke (despite it being a nonsmoking hotel), when we informed the front desk, they apologized immensely (apparently the guest before us was smoking in the bathroom) and insisted on upgrading us to a suite on the business floor. I must have asked a dozen questions of the front desk staff over our stay and they were always extremely friendly and helpful with their responses. They even helped call various places and arrange tours for us as we were worried that our French was not the greatest. The distance to Old Town is not that far and there are plenty of delicious restaurants in the immediate vicinity in case you are there on a cold winter night like we were and did not want to venture too far from the hotel. I honestly can't recommend this hotel enough!

    4
« Nice but expensive for Parking »

The staff was wonderful, hotel was clean. It was very easy to walk to old Quebec from this hotel The onsite restaurant was wonderful as had a Gluten Free menu. We ate there 3 times and I did not get sick as I have Celiac Disease. The Front Desk was wonderful with directions and calling Cabs for us. The pool was nice but too busy at times :) The Wi-fi was amazing!

    4
    « Very helpful »

This hotel doesn't look too good from the outside but the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. This is great value for the price. The only drawback is the lack of parking in the area. I would definite recommend this hotel.

« Great value, walk to Old Quebec! »

Stayed here with my wife and 2 young children for 4 days in March 2016. Staff were prompt and courteous as well as the valet service staff who incidentally, are not employees of the hotel. Clean and cosy rooms and good restaurant and great café on location. Staff in both were great! Pool and hot tub are pretty small but okay. The power button on hot tub is not marked. Overall a great value for the price!

    5
« Very nice hotel and people. »

All the employees were very helpful and professional.. Very good foodand friendly service at the Bistro. We were a group of 9: 6 adults and 4 kids and we never felt that we were disturbing. On adore le vieux Québec!

    2
« The parking situation is just a mess »

Title says it all. Rooms are a little small but that's par for the course for Quebec City. I will admit that we got there a couple of days after a nasty snow storm, and I can understand that, but we asked for help from the valet when we arrived since we couldn't park anywhere to offload and were met with shrugged shoulders and a can't do anything about it. The location is alright, over all service was ok but that first valet interaction made me regret coming to this hotel. I won't be back, it's too much of a hastle to park. We stayed at the Hilton the following night and it was a dream compared to the BW.

    « Surprising experience »

Have tried at least 10 hotels in Quebec City and if you're looking for quality, friendly staff and overall value, it's # 1. The only drawback is location: although it is close to great restaurants, it is still in an up-and-coming area with a mix of people.

    3
    « One night stay »

This hotel has a good location. You can walk to many shops and restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable. An average room you would expect in this price range. Desk was helpful in giving us directions to sights. Parking is pretty high priced. If I came back to Quebec I would choose a historic hotel.

    4
    « Great Hotel »

Exceptional staff! We were even asked if we wanted to have them use French so we could practice while we were there! So helpful! Unfortunately there is no free breakfast and you have to pay for parking, so not as cheap as it might look originally.

« Visiting during Winter Carnaval »

We visited Quebec during Winter Carnaval and stayed at Best Western Plus on the recommendations of friends. The hotel was great. The room was nice and large and had a fantastic shower (5'x5'). Hotel was convenient to VIA Train station. As we are "walkers", the hotel was not in/beside the Old Town, but a short 15 minute walk and you were there. Hotel was close to restaurants, shopping and facilities of "new" Quebec. Definitely recommend the hotel.

    3
    « Best Western »

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times. The bed was very uncomfortable and felt like I was sleeping on a foam mattress laid across a board. When staying at a Best Western Plus I expect to have breakfast included in rates. On check in I was advised that on check in that Best Westerns in Canada do not include breakfast. Parking at the hotel was $24 plus tax a night. I parked on the street for free. Ate in the restaurant on the lower level ordered lasagna and ended up with something that was more like a bowl of chili with a couple of lasagna noodles. Sandwich in the Bistro was good and priced right. carpets were dirty and stained and in bad need of cleaning. When you walked on the carpet it was like walking on sand and salt.

    5
« Another Excellent Best Western Stay »

We were welcomed to the hotel and given help finding our way to the Winter Carnival, which was the purpose of the trip. Advice on local restaurants was offered as well. The room was very spacious and quiet, with all amenities in good working order. The attached restaurant served excellent breakfasts at reasonable prices. All employees we interacted with or simply came across were most friendly.

« Very good Hotel and outstanding service at the front desk. »

We went there for one night and we enjoyed it so much that we have decided to stay a second night. The reason we decide to stay there again is the hotel have a package that you can buy to go village valcartier and also in their package they give you 50$ discount at the restaurant they have at the hotel plus 2 free buffet breakfast. The staff at the front desk give us an outstanding service, very friendly and social. Will definitely go back. The only down side is they are doing some construction aside the hotel and we were getting waking up by the noise at 7:00am. Hotel is located at a very good place near the old Quebec.

    « Great experience »

Very pleasant staff, the whole process was fast and well done. Clean room. Very satisfied. We were going to a show at the Centre Videotron and we were happy to see that it was very close, only had to walk a bit, but it's worth it. A charming place, really.

« Comfortable stay, good experience »

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, myself and 3 girlfriends, traveling from Montreal back to NS. The hotel is within walking distance to old Quebec, about 15-20 minutes or so. When we first arrived to the hotel our room had a "wet dog" smell in it... we went down to the front desk and they switched us right away. The room was clean and beds comfortable. The pool and the hot tub are also very nice. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us directions and tips on places to eat. There was construction happening on the side of the building at the time so it wasn't the nicest view outside our window, not really an issue with the hotel. There was very little noise so it didn't concern us. Parking wasn't an issue for us either, there is valet parking so they will take care of that for you. Overall we had a great stay. :)

« Best Western works very well for us »

We needed a last-minute place to stay in Quebec in order to celebrate New-Year's with friends and family; most places were booked already but we were able to secure an excellent, over-sized room close to most places and the old town for a couple of nights and it worked out very well indeed. Our first night, we were able to walk to a great restaurant just around the corner - on Rue St. Joseph. This area (known as Quartier Saint-Roch) is a culinary hot spot and well worth exploring. The second day/night, we walked to Vieux-Quebec and explored Quartier du Petit Champlain - a memorable experience for sure. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable; the staff were very friendly and helpful in spite of the hustle and bustle associated with New Year's and related outdoor activities. We felt very comfortable here.

    5
    « Very enjoyable stay »

We were thoroughly pleased with our four night stay at this hotel. The room was much bigger than we expected, very clean and well serviced. The reception we had was excellent and friendly, with lots of information and helpful maps, suggestions and 'special offers' received at check-in. The service and food at the restaurants was very good. We were a little disappointed that the hotel is a little distant from the 'Old City' but we used a cab which was not expensive - age limitations excluded any thought of walking - and we would definitely stay here again.

    « Amazing »

The staff is awesome! everyone have been so friendly, helpful, smiling, knowledgeable. Check in, check out, valet, waiters, everyone. A big thank you for helping us checking in early after my dad surgery. Coffee selection in the room is diversified. I'm still surprised of how clean the room was, its show so much respect for your guests. Can't wait to come back, I'll definitely gonna be a big fan of this hotel. Pool was quiet yay! Oh and I slept like a baby. Great internet connection in the room!

    « Beautiful hotel »

My cousin and I stayed at the Best Western Plus City Centre/Centre-Ville on a recent trip to Quebec City (October 16-18 2015). My Cousin was visiting from England and we decided to do a trip to Quebec City and picked this hotel after i previously stayed there on a school trip a long time ago. The hotel was the same as a remember. The hotel is very nice, very clean, rooms have plenty of room, and beds were comfy. The staff at the front was very pleasant. There was construction happening across the way but it did not bother at all. There is a restaurant down stairs that offers breakfast that was delicious. There is also a coffee shop attached that we didn't use. We didn't use the pool either. The location was perfect, right in the middle of the shopping strip, however it is a bit of a walk to Old Quebec, but I didn't mind that, just had to dress for the weather (was 5 degrees the day we went). I was very happy with my stay at the Best Western Plus City Centre and If i am ever back in Quebec City, I will stay there again and I recommend it to anyone who is going.

    5
    « Beautiful new look »

This hotel has undergone some major renovations and it was well worth the hassles. The rooms have been redone, the halls renovated and the reception area looks fantastic. While not in "old Quebec" it is well located to the lower city and easy access to the upper city.

    « Great hotel! »

You know it will be a great stay when you stay at a Best Western and this one was no exception! The staff were friendly and very helpful. It was close to everything and was a nice walk from the hotel to Old Quebec. Would recommend!

« Cheap room rates and quite high prices in the Hotels restaurant. »

I stayed in a room that was easily at the 130 dollar per night level for only 70 dollars. The Hotel had a restaurant in the centre of it that I tried twice. Both times I thought the food fell significantly short of a price tag that was up around 40 dollars for one person. I found that quite disappointing. I had spaghetti and meat sauce that had very little in the way of meat sauce and when you get right down to it-very little in the way of spaghetti also. It was basically a "throw away meal" that cost as much as three course sit down at a place with a chef that knows how to cook very well. That isn't exactly great. The event repeated itself with another dish which was basically done strangely and I was charged what a much better meal would have cost in a place where the janitor wasn't doubling as the cook. Quebec City can be a fairly interesting town-there are plenty of good places to eat around the town and lots of interesting stores to visit. This Hotel is a good deal for travellers as as long as they eat elsewhere. A small cafe in the Hotel did make a decent coffee though. I think that if their restaurant had been better they would have deserved a nine out of ten-with a dysfunctional restaurant they only deserve a five point five out of ten. I slept well but was woken up two nights in a row very late by what sounded like an adult having a tantrum-maybe a waiter didn't like getting less than average tips for food that was less than average. Thats life.

    « Great find! »

Clean hotel close to all quebec has to offer! Enjoyed our 2 night stay this weekend. Rooms are clean and equipped with a fridge...thanks to the other trip advisor member who mentioned the valet parking being expensive...if you're there on the weekend the parking lot just up the street is $5 bucks per 12 hours we ended up paying $15 instead of the amount the hotel wanted to charge. Overall a good experience!

« An Experience to Remember! »

We had the opportunity to stay at this location during the first week of July 2015. The staff at this Best Western were superb! We felt welcomed, and everyone was very accomodating. The front desk staff were very helpful whenever we were seeking suggestions for dinner, directions, or general questions. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant each morning, and had great conversation with those working. We will return when in Quebec City. Thank you to each of you who were working during our stay. It was suggested that we take the ferry across to have dinner in Levi. During our last night while in Quebec City, we did take the ferry and as we sat on the outdoor patio having dinner, we were able to watch a beautiful sunset, and be present to see Quebec City from afar at night. Breathtaking.

    « A good night's rest »

In Limoilou, in Québec city, my husband and I wanted to stay the night in the area where we attended a wedding. I wondered why the hotel was qualified as "plus". Well, first of all, the bed wasn't a spring mattress, but rather a memory foam; very comfortable. Then, the shower was practically a room in itself! It was big enough for many people! There was a telephone shower and a large "rain" shower overhead. But the best surprise was the breakfast (served until 11 a.m.) where everything you could possibly want was present! Don't forget the homemade maple sugar sauce on your pancakes! It's a must!

    « Great value »

The hotel is great value for money. Centrally located. Approximately 1 km from the train, 1km and a bit to to Old Quebec City, and right amongst the shopping precinct. We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rooms have all the basics, our bathroom as a bit small, but for a hot shower and cofrtabe bed it served its purpose. Don't bother with the flat white from the adjoining Cafe, they still haven't managed the growth from filter to espresso - cold! I would stay here again

« Good Hotel, nice services »

When we arrived hotel, It was very bad weather. It was very strong snow and cool. The guard was very nice to help us to take the luggage and he got the key to park my car. The first impression is very good. The quality room is good, clean and spacious. The Bistro Cafe, restaurant in ground floor of Hotel was very good. We had a dinner delicious and warming. The food was nice and services quite good. Outside hotel, there are many restaurant with few steps. second day, we easy discovered around. High recommended

« Good deal, clean spacious rooms »

I got an amazing deal on Hotwire for this hotel ($42 USD, $53 USD total). The rooms were clean and spacious. The room was arranged different from most hotel rooms with the beds not being paralell. There was not much of a view as my window actually looked out the inside of the hotel. The service was great. The wi-fi was fast.

« Comfy, friendly and delightful! »

We spent 3 nights at this hotel, and loved it. The staff at check in was very friendly. The rooms were big, clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. I would stay again anytime.

    « Excellent stay »

A fabulous hotel to stay explore the old city and the new. Staff are very helpful and friendly, I couldn't fault any of them and we very much appreciated the small fruit basket on arrival. Handy coffee shop in the foyer and a coffee maker in the clean and spacious room. The construction across the road was of no consequence, we hardly heard a thing. Just a short walk up to the delightful Rue Saint Jean area and then onto the old city. This hotel was perfect for our stay, we would stay again.

    4
« Reasonable and good hotel »

Hotel itself was very nice with one Bistro and Coffeehouse within the hotel and the staff was very friendly. The room was average but they had a coffeemaker and had easy to reach electric outlets at the desk, plus free internet. The bad things was the location (in the outskirt of down town) and the parking. You had to deliver the keys to the hotel staff in stead of parking by your self, and they charged around $ 25 a night, which i think is quite stiff, when the room cost $ 90,-

    5
« perfect for quick business stay »

if you have to stay in quebec city and do not have time to visit and do not want to deal with lots of tourists, this place is probably the best you can get. very friendly and helpful staff, spacious and clean room, very comfortable bed. my room had probably the best hotel bathroom i've seen in a while - all fixtures were new and easy to use. not the most romatic and not in a gorgeous part of town, but it went beyond what i was expected.

    4
    « Very comfortable room »

Very well located, very good service and we absolutely loved our room! It was easy to get to the main attractions and my daughter enjoyed the swimming pool. Parking is not easy in that part of the city but the valet service was impeccable.

    5
    « Great location »

the staff was more than helpful. One of the staff at the reception gave us on point recommendations for restaurants to visit. I believe this guy made our trip great with his tips!! thank you! the rooms are clean. The only downside are the pillows, not comfortable. Dont bother with the pool, was not clean. All in all the hotel was perfect.

    5
    « Exceeded All Expectations »

I did not have the highest hopes, as I arrived at the Best Western. Immediately, the staff was friendly and helpful. The front desk was eager to suggest restaurants and nightlife spots, which turned out to be great. The room was basic but very clean. The location is an easy walk to the Old Town. Great Value!

« Good location for buisness trip »

Nice location hotel in hard of the city Room was very clean modern good setup can easily work a few hours in the office space (that do offer free buisness centre (time on computer and printing) About 20 good restaurant in walking distance of the hotel. The hotel have to restaurant one bistro and coffee-bar place both are ok to good for supper clean nice ambiance But the bistro for breakfast was a big deception when there for buisness meeting with a client and staff keep bugging us to choose something for breakfast (you have choices between buffet or plate menus) they came at least 11 time in one hour and then place was far from full ... We when for the buffet ... Grrr what mistake with taxe and tip 42$ for two and food quality is very average. At that price I expect great breakfast. The hotel staff where great fave efficient Be aware parking is 27$a night!! Will return for quality of room and staff will just find a others parking arrangements and breakfast option

« Great Place to Stay »

Great place to stay. Great location. Comfortable rooms, well furnished. Nice stall. Good breakfast. Construction across the street makes arrival a little dicey. One in the hotel, all good. Valet parking reasonably priced.

« If all other hotels are full... »

This place is not great. Very average in appearance, cleanliness, location... The pool in there is actually disgusting. I was afraid I was going to get some kind of infection after swimming there. Also, at this moment, there is a construction site right beside the hotel, which makes it impossible to park a car and to sleep in the morning. They won't tell you this on the phone or on their website when you book. Overall disappointed and will not go back there anytime soon.

« Would Have Avoided If Had Known... »

Am Am not sure how this hotel got its 3,5-4-star rating. True, the room was big. But there was no view (it overlooked the roofed court), and, my God, how dirty it was! I can hardly imagine when the last time the carpet was replaced was. I had white socks on, after a dozen of steps they naturally became greyish. I didn't dare step into the bathtub barefoot? The staff leaves a note on the door that one can fill out and indicate one's preferences for cleaning. I wrote I didn't want any cleaning services at all. Well, it turned out, nobody read those messages (even though, I had filled out the part in French), my room was cleaned? This is minor, my biggest issue was cleanliness? The location, though, was good - only a 20-minute walk to the historic centre.

« Nice hotel in Quebec City »

Visited in November - building across the way had major construction going on so beware during the weekdays they are starting their work around 7AM (if you're room faces the worksite you will hear them!) Parking at the hotel is crazy expensive, so park at a nearby parkade and it will be less than half of what you'd pay at the hotel! We paid $10 for the weekend compared to $35 per day at the hotel! Nice room, nice breakfast at the restaurant. Not as close to Old Quebec as we had hoped but it was a 20 minute walk. Some nice restaurants around the hotel too! We would recommend!

    « Water boiler; Self-serve laundry »

Travelling with young children, I tend to be picky on cleanliness and location. Fortunately, this particular BW passed with flying colours! From friendly front desk staffs, to fantastic Eggs Benedict at their restaurant. However I'm puzzled on why BW would offer (in-room) complementary teas without providing a water boiler. And no, do not even attempt to use water from the coffee maker unless you like your tea tasting like coffee. In order to get a water boiler, BW requires guests to make an extra $15 deposit on the room tab. The deposit will be refunded upon the return of the water boiler to the front desk (which they keep like a precious cargo in a cabinet). This policy clearly needs a review as it doesn't benefit guests; And if you happen to need to do some laundry, don't bother using the "lavoir" that's a block away. It's not clean, doesn't have a change machine, and not all machine works. We had to bring our wet stuff to a better "lavoir" but it's 15 mins (by car) away from BW.

« BEST WESTERN CITY CENTRE »

We spent one night at this hotel. Getting there early we were thinking the room would not be ready....but it was. We asked for some suggestions for eateries and the front desk was most helpful there. The room wasn't huge but was more than adequate. Quite enjoyed the comfy chair! We had traveled since 1 a.m. that morning and tired! So a wonderful room to rest in! The hotel staff the whole time was most accomodating!

    3
« Nice hotel, but lots of construction going on right now »

The hotel was nice and room was very large. However, there is a lot of construction going on near the hotel right now. According to the front desk, it will probably last several more years. If not for that, I would definitely recommend the hotel.

    5
« Enjoyed our stay for price »

We really enjoyed our stay, the staff made our experience, the ned was comfortable and the hotel was very interesting. We would stay here again, nice part of Quebec city and reasonable price. The decor could be updated and the room had a slight smell.

    4
« Great place at a great price »

Very clean rooms, the room service ladies are on point. While it's not in the old town, it's only a 10 minute walk. Hotel has a small pool, but the kids loved it. It's also very close to lots of restaurants.

    4
    « Clean, Good location »

The hotel is in good shape, clean, and modern. Parking is a bummer, but it's like that all over Quebec city. The bar and coffee shop is pretty good. I only wish the pool would be open later. Beds are comfy.

    5
    « Grand old place »

Don't let the exterior fool you on account of the construction across the road. The staff in the hotel is very caring and friendly. Next best thing to being away from home and travelling for business constantly.

« So glad we booked this hotel inQuebec city »

This for us was a perfect location. We could easily(for us) walk up the steps to the city or walk around past the Via station and along the port area to climb up to the Citadelle etc. We had a great time in this beautiful city made even better by this hotel with a good large clean room and oh so helpful courteous staff at the front desk (wish I could remember the name of the young lady that checked us in, began with C). The two young valets were also extremely polite and helpful, always with a smile. There was construction going on next door but it didn't impact us. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and recommend to friends. Thank you!

« Best time in Quebec City »

Best Western PLUS City Centre hotel is a diamond in the rough. The location is just outside the busy Old Town area, easy to get to from Old Town, if you are a walker, or hop on a bus - the 800 will take you just 2 blocks from the hotel. The main library is across the street, interesting restaurants, shops to visit all along the way into or out of town. Staff was friendly, there to assist with all you may need. The name Best Western speaks for itself, clean, all amenities provided, comfortable beds & other furnishings, wi-fi.

    « Trip of a lifetime »

This hotel was amazing. From the reception to the valets, first class service all the way. The staff was very helpful with information when we needed it and more than happy to help out any way they could. Our room was spotless, the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel and the hotel in general was very clean. The restaurants were great, and I can recommend the crepes for breakfast, the sauce they put on them is to die for. This clean, comfortable property made our trip to Quebec City a memorable one

    « Nice stay »

We enjoyed our stay. Great Customer Service. Staff friendly and helpful with directions. Rooms are clean. Very modern. Bit noisy at the entrance with the construction taking place in front of the hotel.

« Good value for money »

Hotel represents good value for money. Although not right in the city center, the latter is easily accessible on foot or by bus. The usual good Best Western standard, with all things you require, including a good restaurant that serves breakfast in buffet style. Spacious rooms, clean. Welcoming information provided by reception staff and concierge.

« A Hidden surprise !! parking fee of $24+ taxes daily- (mid October) »

We received a resounding SURPRISE of having to pay for parking added to the already paid bill of $369 for three nights(weekdays!!) to HOTEL. COM....................This parking was quoted as being valet parking which housed our car in one of the two shady looking open lots on their street that had run down homes some under renovation. Under the guise of valet parking they double charged (gouged ??)for parking ... which cost was much less elsewhere in the city, had control of our car,and parked it in an unsupervised, open, gravel area, which forced us to periodically check our car . Both Hotel.com and Best western in QUEBEC, in stratagem caused us an unexpected hit of $83 for 3 nights for parking. It should have been disclosed at the outset in my opinion. Positives..... inside hotel room was good and clean.but our room faced (very narrow street) a run down house under construction.. hotel food places was good but pricey..... Area was ok but hampered by construction..thus dissuaded us from using our car ...lots of food places walking distance and very reasonable.....hotel staff were bi-lingual Quebec-- Communication was mostly very difficult as most Quebecois cannot speak English(universal language) This made our experience much less enjoyable, fortunately to be somewhat redeemed by Quebec's beauty and history. NO---I personally would not visit Quebec again. BTW-- be prepared to park down the street, take all you luggage in after about a 100m walk and then get told you need to pay $24+ for valet parking( ironical isn't it?) Although the hotel was adequate, I am putting this out there as a forewarning; because I don't believe unethical behavior should ever be rewarded with more business. This is about right and wrong - and clearly Parking is a cash grab scheme and is therefore in my opinion indicative of this hotel's and hotel.com's business practices

« Good place to stay »

Stayed here for a week in September. The staff are very nice. We had a room on the executive floor which was on a higher floor and quite nice. Couldn't hear the construction noise nearby but we weren't in the room much anyways. I have more of an issue with my husband's snoring. The shower was huge and could probably fit 10 people. I thought their restaurant was so-so but ok for breakfast. The cafe had very good lattes but there is a Starbucks nearby if you are an addict, which I suppose we are. Whatever you do please do not go to the Thai/Vietnamese restaurant across the street. It will turn you off forever if you have never had that type of cuisine. You really don't need a car if you are coming to see Quebec City. We rented one for two days so that we could go see Montmorency Falls, Isle d'Orleans and the King's Trail route. Parking is $24 but we found free parking on the street overnight. It isn't a very long walk to the Old City unless you are in bad shape. There is a grocery store along the way where we bought fruit and beverages. All in all, I would stay at the hotel again.

    « Daylight required »

Room was quite big with two large comfy beds, however the room was quite dark and gloomy as there was no natural light. The room had a view of the internal atrium which over looked the dining / restaurant area. As the room was an internal room, it was quiet, so no outside road or construction noise heard. There is a big construction site directly at the side of the hotel. The location of the hotel is ok for a 20 min up hill walk to the old Quebec town area. A good location for a couple of good bars and restaurants.

    « City Centre Surprise »

Our stay at this Best Western Centre-Ville was for one night only however we arrived early in the morning and without hesitation (and no early check in fee) the front desk staff gave us our room on the executive floor with a beautiful view overlooking the Laurentian Mtns. and the new hockey arena in the distance. The room was very modern and clean and had upgraded amenities. The concierge/valet staff were also extremely helpful (to mention Jeff and Rodolphe and a few others) and very knowledgable about Quebec City and the surrounding area. There is construction across the street from the hotel though so the valet parking staff took our car a few blocks away to an area under security surveillance so there was no need to worry. We did not eat in what appeared to be a gourmet restaurant but did have coffee and the largest and best muffins we had ever had in the coffee shop in the hotel off the lobby. It was nice to have this option rather than looking for some place to find coffee. (Note - there was a coffee machine in our room.) Overall, we would stay here again but because it is located in the heart of the business district it is definitely not a place to stay for the faint of heart who wish to make the 40+ minute walk to Old Quebec City. On the plus side however, the double decker tour bus will pick you up in front of the Cathederal only one block from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Quebec City.

    2
    « Construction alert »

Beware there's a building going up beside the hotel and they start 6am. The noise level is definitely loud enough to wake you up. If you're looking to for a good night sleep, this isn't it. Plus the parking is $24 cad a night. I understand parking can be expensive in tourist areas but there's parking within walking distance (3 min) at half the price. That's quite steep by any standards.

    « Short but sweet »

My cousin and I stayed at this hotel for two nights, the hotel is close to old Quebec City and the train/bus station which are both within 15-20 minutes walk. We arrived a little earlier than intended so our original room wasn't ready but the guy on the front desk, Jean Pierre, found us another room which we found very comfortable. As we arrived on a Friday, there was no work going on during the two mornings we were at the hotel so I cannot comment on the amount of noise there may potentially be during the week. We ate breakfast at the hotel on our first day, which we both enjoyed and I thought the waiting staff were polite and prompt with their service. All in all we had a rather enjoyable short but pleasant stay at this hotel.

« Great place to stay! »

Very helpful and polite staff, comfortable room, great central location, excellent breakfast (Renault was an excellent waiter/server!!!!). We have stayed at this hotel before and will definitely stay at this hotel again.

    « Rip off »

Booked this hotel for one night over the long weekend through priceline.com and was charged $153 when the bill said $117. Reported this to priceline.com and am still waiting for a refund. Check-in was smooth and received an upgrade which was nice. Valet parking at $25 on an adjacent uncovered lot with gravel, is a ripoff. Found a cheaper option at $12 just around the corner. Room was suitably appointed but was dated. Being in the city centre, the old city is walkable distance which was convenient. The biggest rip off was when we checked out 1.5 hrs late and got slapped $28 as late checkout fees. The fact that we were out all morning at the Citadelle and got stuck in traffic on our way back didn't buy us a reprieve! Their line " We cant help if every guest checks out late!!!" I guess every guest who checks-out late gets a rap on the knuckles!!!!

    4
« Close to old Quebec City »

Good location if you are walking; approx 15 min walk from old city. Grocery store within two blocks for snacks and wine. Area under construction and on hotel is on the edge of city centre next to old part of Quebec. Ligne de Rouge/ Red line stop with open top double decker bus on St, Joseph Street, Rue de St Joseph across from St Roch Church. The hotel was very comfortable. we had a room on the executive floor, no view to speak of but at the back so much quieter than the construction side at the front of the hotel. The bar/lounge is small and not very well decorated. Wine list is very small and not the best. Housekeeping staff were excellent and always provided us with fresh towels daily. We choose the green route so our bed was made but sheets were not changed. Free High Speed internet and a complimentary room safe were appreciated.

    4
    « Business trip »

Excellent room (executive area) - good service. Hotel location within walking distance from train station (10 minutes). Area itself is under construction not much to write home about but it is close to the old city.

    5
    « Excellent customer service »

Our hotel was located close enough (short cab ride) for easy access to the convention that my husband was attending. Our room was perfect for us - in the rear of the hotel away from construction noise across the street from the entrance (front) of the hotel. The customer service we experienced was superior and wanted to mention two employees that were outstanding - Alexander (helped us many times with suggestions of excellent restaurant choices with much enthusiasm) & Izabel (was a server for breakfast & was always smiling & extremely helpful) - would recommend this hotel highly :)

    4
« Good Hotel in a neighborhood that is improving, quiet sleep »

While it is below the hill, the Saint Roch area is constantly improving and there is a free elevator about three blocks away that will take you up the cliff. The hotel is well kept and appointed and offers good service. You will have to pay extra for valet parking ($24 per night) or find your own place to park. The room was excellent, clean and Wifi is included. We found the room offered a great sleep as we rarely heard the faintest sound from outside our room. It is a bit of a walk to the walled part of the city but Quebec is all about walking anyway and if you plan to visit the Saint Roch area anyway this is a good choice. We usually avoid hotel dining but we arrived late the first night and we happily surprised by the excellent service and food in the dining room. There is also an attached Coffee business that has excellent cappuccino.

    5
    « Great stay! ! »

The hotel is very comfortable. The staff are excellent!! We really enjoyed our stay. The location is convenient but parking is a bit difficult. My advice is to take advantage of the valet service. We dined at the hotel restaurant and were very pleased with our meals. We also used the hotel pool which was very refreshing. I would definitely stay here again.

    5
    « A great stay! »

I truly enjoyed this hotel. It is located downtown and about a 20 minute walk to old Québec City. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfy and the water pressure was very good. There was even a telephone shower, which I really like. There was a keurig and a refrigerator in the room. The staff was very pleasant and always ready and willing to answer questions on places to go, directions, etc. I will definitely return.

    4
« Well located hotel with all the mod cons »

This hotel is well situated close to the centre of Québec City. The rooms are well decorated, well equipped and very modern and clean. Just one problem - the only parking option really is to use the valet service and I found it very expensive. Given that I had recently stayed in downtown Montréal at a Best Western and the parking was less expensive and also in Rivière-du-Loup where it was included, I found this a bit steep.

  • 5
    « Convenient stay »

The hotel is a 15 minute uphill walk from the old city, but is conveniently lcated. It was eht we expect from BW. Nice rooms comfy beds & pleasant service. On site restaurant offered a good breakfast but Table D'Hote for supper was disappointing

    « Very Nice »

We stayed one night in this hotel. It was a little difficult to get to but once we arrived, found it to be a very nice hotel. The building is a little dated but the room was spacious, very clean and well kept. The beds were comfortable and it was a quiet, restful night. The staff were very helpful and they provide valet parking. Even when we checked out at 7:00 am there was still valet service provided. There was construction in the area but there really was no excess noise to speak of. All in all, it was a very nice evening.

    3
    « OK stay »

I stayed here for 4 nights in October 2014. The hotel was nice. It is very out dated. But we had a great night sleep and that's all I can ask for. I would return again but would look into other options first!

« helpful staff, rooms clean and spacious a little dated »

they are building a new building opposite so a little noisy early on a morning restaurant in hotel a little disappointing, band but has gluten free towels very uncomfortable rooms large, clean and spacious and tv with french and english channels to the old walled town its a 10 min walk but uphill

« great hotel, a bit far from Old Quebec City »

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room we had was very spacious (with 2 Queen size beds) including the bathroom. There furnishing was quite generous with extra wide TV. The bedding was luxurious and fluffy, like sleeping on clouds. The staff are very friendly and we were able to check in and have our room ready before noon. It's location is a bit far from Old Quebec City (a good 20 minutes walk). If you're going to walk, take the elevator at Rue de la Couronne and Sainte-Claire. This will save you a bit of walking

    5
    « Great hotel »

We booked for a one night at this hotel because of the indoor swimming pool and the good price. We are two adults and two babies and we had no problem getting comfortable in the spacious two queen beds' bedroom. The location of the hotel is great and the staff is very friendly. The construction nearby was a bit annoying in the morning, but we weren't planning on staying in our room anyways. We wanted to extend the stay for another night but that was not possible as it was fully booked, so we stayed in a nearby hotel, but came back the next morning to have breakfast at the Best western. The buffet is very good with many choices, and our two year old was admitted at no charge. Also, as I am a neat freak, I admired that the remote control was placed in a bag, stating that it was cleaned from guest to guest (supposedly). The only annoying thing I found is that the lights don't have one key to turn them off all at once, so when we needed to leave the room we had to go and turn off each lamp by itself.
