Come to the new BEST WESTERN PLUS Viva Porto de Galinhas, opened in 2012. 120 rooms with ocean view, balcony and hammock on the balcony. Located on the seaside, four kilometers from the village of Porto de Galinhas and 60 kilometers from the Airport of Recife. Porto de Galinhas is famous for the natural pools formed by the reefs, where it is possible to swim between colored fishes. The hotel has sports areas and places to relax. Beautiful gardens with coconuts trees, five pools, and a playground for children. It's a good place for families, couples, and honeymooners. Make a boat trip to the natural pools, go snorkeling, or visit the sea horses and different types of crabs in their natural environment. You can complete your travel visiting historic places in Pernambuco, one of the richest cultural and historical states in Brazil. Try the regional dishes with European and African influences.     « Nice place and great service »

    The place is really nice and the service is great - very friendly and efficient staff. The only down side I had was to do with one pool that was under maintenance. In any case, I strongly recommend to go for family or couple holidays for instance.

    « Very good service and clean and nice hotel! »

    Very nice hotel especially if your there for holiday. The people were very nice and helpful. Only thing they could do better is the fact that not always there was a buffet diner and we were counting on that because we went there for work and came back to lunch and there wasn't enough time to have lunch a la cart. But furthermore they make a mean caipirinha with different kind of fruits. They have 3 swimming pools but unfortunately there were 2 of them under construction! But never the less we had a great time!

    We were in this hotel two years ago (almost when it had just opened) and we were so impressed by the hotel and service that we came back. Now in July 2016 (the second time around), was also a good experience, although there are constructions undergoing to expand the hotel. For the future, I am just scared that it will be too big with too many people, as it has just been right during these two past occasions...

    « Good ...but... »

    In general a very good experience! Good food and welcome ambiance. I just suggest a better review over pillows, towers and bad clothes! Need some renew... Several new constructions cause a bit of disturb but really not that could cause a bad experience. Seems that after all the new buildings it could be more attractive although would be crowded.

    « Fantastic pool & beach »

    We arrived on a Sunday when the workmen weren't working. When you look at the aerial photo of the resort you'll notice the bare patch of land closet to the beach. This is a construction site at the moment as they are building the extra hotel rooms. The noise none the less isn't very intrusive and I wouldn't let that put you off staying here. The buffet for all meals is extensive and the service attentive. We had booked a double queen room with pool views and got a single queen, carpark views and a jacuzzi?!!! They quickly rectified this when I rejected their offer. The even numbered rooms had the pool views.

    « Simple and perfect for family! »

    Very nice and clean hotel. I went with my spouse and 3-year daughter and we enjoyed a lot! There are 5 or more swimming pools around the restaurant and very close to the beach. We stayed in a room on the 4th floor facing the pools. But there wasn't elevator - the only problem... My daughter loved the pools and we barely went to the beach. Staff were friendly. The hotel has a brand new gym and spa at the basement as well as kids place and games room. If you wanna go to the city of Porto de Galinhas you can call a cab and pay 20 reais per trip (5-10 minutes). The hotel has some night attractions at night such as concerts, dance shows, kids plays, everything at the pools area. We liked a lot our holidays! Don't forget your bugs repellent!

    « Nice beach hotel »

    I (German) currently stayed for one week with my Brazilian girlfriend in this really nice hotel. The Hotel has a nice big pool area with plenty of lays (unfortunately almost no shade available), also some small "houses" away from all the hotel trouble. The connection to the beach is direct and the hotel provides lays and service there as well (beautiful). The overall service is "Brazilian style", meaning if you are used to the motivation of the waiters, and you are willing to hunt them down for your order, you get served. The mandatory breakfast is until 10:30, and it's typical Brazilian: tapioca, fruits and bread. Unfortunately they have no fresh juice but if you ask, they make you a fresh orange juice. During the day we had only some snack at the pool (bolinhos de bacalhau is very good), with a little high prices (coco 6, cerveja 7). We had no dinner at the hotel, but besides the menu they offer a buffet. I can recommend to take a taxi to the center (fixed price 20) and go to "La Tratoria"! The rooms are clean, big and have all needed (incl a safe). Only negative is the crazy air condition blowing right on the bed (windows cannot be opened during night because of Mosquitos). The balcony is also a plus. Every night the hotel offered some entertainment: bingo, live music,.... WLAN is during the day ok to check E Mails.

    « Good infrastructure »

    The hotel has a very good infrastructure. Good rooms. all of them have balconies. 5 swimming pools. And at the amazing Cupe beach. Ideal for walking on the sand. Good breakfast and honest dinner. The prices are higher than expected. The hotel was full because we went out of season, and even though, the swimming pools were dirty. And our check was wrong in the end. But they recognized the mistake and corrected it. I recommend. Ideal for families with kids.

    « Great location. Very nice Hotel »

    I will summarize my review by listing the pros and cons of this hotel: PROS: - Location: The beach is clean and the temperature of the ocean is just great (warm). Even when this is not a merit of the hotel as a guest that is something you enjoy. - Staff: All the staff from the front desk to the cleaning lady are very polite. They solved all the little problems/requests I had. CONS: - Bad Internet. The Internet connection worked only on the restaurant. From the bedrooms it was very unstable. - Poor Spanish/English: My expectation here is only that in the front desk or the restaurant you find staff that speak Spanish/English fluently. - No elevator. Even when the hotel has 4 floors an elevator won't hurt. - Each time you want to purchase something (usually drinks) you need to present a paper card and another one for having lunch. Can you make a better system, for instance, if the passenger is using yellow bracelet, it means that it has all meals covered so, why an extra piece of paper. Bottom line, despite the cons I mentioned, I will recommend the hotel to everyone.

    « THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED »

    Don't pick this hotel. The reception is terrible. The check in took more than 45 minutes because they still use papers to fill out the forms instead of computer. The reception manager is very rude. Seems like she doesn't know what she is doing and she couldn't care less. The organization at the reception was terrible. I could see a lots of guests complaining and all they were able to say was: " you have to call reservation, they are in a separate building" and we can not do anything. Hello? Are you serious?! They have no clue of costumer service. They seriously need to have some training there. I don't drink soft drink at all and they tried to charge me for that on mini bar. When I said I told I didn't have any soft drink, the manager at the reception called the housekeeping and said they were going to discount from their salary!! It's shocking to hear that!! The internet doesn't work most of the time and all you hear is: we are fixing! Housekeeping did a good job on cleaning the room and it is the only department that the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food and Beverage is a mess!!! The food is DISGUSTING!! I am not joking! We paid for half board - which was a mistake! Breakfast was terrible, staff not having proper hygiene on handling food, flies everywhere, cockroach around the buffet, staff chatting about their personal life while they could be cleaning the tables. F&B staff has no clue of what they are doing. They don't know how to open a bottle of wine, they don't know how to serve drinks, they are not trained at all. I still can not believe that this hotel has a General Manager!! The food was tasteless, not fresh, oily, over cooked and I was not surprised when I found hair on the food. We had to eat outside of the hotel almost everyday!! Impossible to eat the food there! They charge for the towel that you use in the pool. Everything that you ask - the answer is "NO" or "I don't know" BE CAREFUL WITH THE POOL - they put so much chlorine that will stain your swimsuit!!! I had a white bikini and it became GREEN!!!! It's such a pity to see this hotel in this situation. The General Manager seems do not care about the hotel at all. They need to change the lady in the reception (the manager) she is rude and doesn't know how to deal with customers. She can never deal with guests. She is not a professional and she shouldn't be working on the Front Desk. The hotel is located in front of the beach. 4km to the little town. You can take a taxi (20.00 reais - 6km) or you can go walking through the beach side (4km) there, in the little town you can find great and delicious food on the restaurants with live music and delicious drinks. There's a taxi driver, Mr. Mariano, he is an amazing person, very friendly and very professional. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. Service is terrible, food is disgusting and customer service is A JOKE!!!!! A WASTE OF MONEY.
