« Great quality for the money »

I was very impressed with this hotel. It was quite attractive, very clean, and everyone was very helpful. I would recommend it highly! I wish I had been closer to downtown ,but the Max was very helpful!

« Clean, accommodating, great value »

This hotel is great for a stay in a city...it is close enough to the downtown core for a quick drive but far enough away to be quiet. Room was spotless, fridge worked well, internet was fast. The breakfast was good, but they use and automatic pancake machine that is a bit on the slow side, so get to breakfast early if you want pancakes.

    « OK hotel »

Not as great as other BW hotels we have stayed at, but OK. Staff friendly and helpful, pretty quiet in spite of closeness to main thorough fare. Stayed there because it was close to the airport for our flight back to Colorado

« Comfortable and good value »

We recently spend a weekend at the Best Western Inn at the Meadows. The front desk service was friendly and helpful, and the shuttle service was fine. It is important to book ahead, as the shuttles are small and this hotel is really quite a distance from the airport. We did a dry run of trying to use public transit on the way back to the airport the day before our departure, and it was a pain, so we booked the shuttle. Public transit - the MAX is accessible and is about a 10 - 15 minute walk from the hotel. You do have to walk under a couple of overpasses to get there, and up a flight of stairs, so you will get your daily step-count up. The MAX runs very frequently and the area is well-lit. It is a bargain at about $5.00 per day for adults and half of that for seniors. The room was clean, comfortable and quite and the bed was just right. Breakfast was decent and was served from 6 am to 9 am. We would stay here again.

« Bad service. Dirty bed sheets. »

Upon arrival Cindy at the front desk was outside smoking, so we had to wait for her to finish her smoke before checking in. She was not friendly nor did she seem to care about customer service. Our bed sheets had a stain and she told us I'm the only one here so you have to change it yourselves. She didn't seem bothered that it was 2 am in the morning and we had just finished a long drive and now have dirty sheets! She left the desk to smoke, but couldn't leave to change our sheets! Bed service, bad hotel, breakfast okay. But I will not ever stay again or recommend.

    « Good value »

Hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood close to Walmart and easy access to I-5. Staff are friendly and attentive. It's the best complimentary breakfast buffet that I've had. We stayed here many times in the past and will continue to do so. Very good value.

« Twice and just as nice »

This was my second stay with the BW in Portland and we enjoyed our stay once again. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. The location, though a bit remote from downtown, is convenient to the highway. We used a Groupon coupon and with the included breakfast, this was a very inexpensive way to stay in Portland.

    5
« great stay, exceptionel breakfast! »

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious which was nice as we were traveling with 2 kids. The breakfast and breakfast staff were exception. We were able to walk to get dinner which was nice after a long day of driving. Very pleased with our visit.

    5
« Great stay with exceptional free breakfast »

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and the breakfast was probably the best we've ever had. The room was quite spacious which was nice as we were traveling with two kids. We were able to walk out for dinner. Very clean. Nice staff.

    « Nice Updated Rooms »

I just needed a place to stay before I flew out. This hotel often popped up in muy searches for a great price, but I had never tried it. Will stay here again. If you need a view out your room, this is not the place. If you want several places to walk to, skip this. If you need a fancy lobby and hallways and elevators, not here. But if you want a good, clean and affordable room where you can get to Vancouver, the Airport, or Portland with ease, this is a good place to stay.

« Fine Print - Beware of Groupon »

I booked our room through Groupon. I originally had another hotel booked but stumbled upon this Groupon so we cancelled the other one so we can save some money. We have two kids, so we booked a double room. To our dismay, when we arrived at the hotel, the front desk told us they had bad news for us. They are going to charge us $10 extra for each child per night. They have to be under 12 to not get charged. And they were aware that information wasn't explained in the Groupon. I have a 13 year old, so the rep said he will cut us a break on him. Very disappointing. I would have kept my previous reservation at another hotel for less money. Also, if you use a debit card, they authorize an additional $25 per night as a hold. The room itself was clean and updated. Breakfast was good. Try not to be on the bottom floors or next to the stairway. We could hear people walking above us all night.

    « perfect »

Enjoyable accommodations: clean, comfy, quiet (on third floor), roomy. Helpful staff.Very nice breakfast offering (but go early to avoid the crowd!) Very comfortable lounge chair and ottoman in the room.

    5
« Back in Portland, back at the Inn »

Genuinely friendly staff throughout, accommodating my request for quiet room on 3rd floor, rear of building. Older property with face lift. Contemporary lobby design, updated room furniture, spacious king room with desk, chair, comfy seat and ottoman. Small micro wave and very small fridge without freezer shelf. Wall mounted large TV, adjustable in every direction, good HD picture with limited channels. Efficient A/C, full "lights out" blinds prevent street lights to disturb night time. Updated bath, soap/shampoo/conditioner in dispenser. Breakfast tasted good, selection on par with motel fare, could be improved on to get to the next level and match to rest of the overall hotel experience. Hotel is located six miles from downtown, easy access to interstate 5. Close to airport and easy to get into and out of town. Restaurants, fast food, gas station, Wmart near by in walking distance. Public transportation 1/2 mile to walk. Considering that downtown Portland is a pricey hotel territory, this was the perfect spot and hotel at the intersection of location and price for my Portland/Mount St. Helen/Columbia River weekend.

« High Class Best Western »

The hotel has a five star look. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. The Hotel staff were very kind and professional. The location is close to the Portland downtown and the airport. Definitely I will stay again next time I visit Portland.

« Great place to stay! »

Lots of free parking; easy to get to (except for rush hour traffic!!). Terrific breakfast and friendly staff eager to answer questions. Lovely neighborhood for shopping and quick access to freeway. I would stay again. Very quiet and comfortable room, with a window that opened, too.

    5
« Large, Modern Room with Excellent Amenities »

Our room was large and decorated with very modern furniture and style. I really liked the flat, clean surfaces as it felt and was very clean. The colors used in the bathroom and one feature wall in the main room added a nice flair and the bright pink chair was the perfect accent. One of the nicest features was the lighting in both the bathroom and the main area. Our bed was very comfortable and the linens of good quality. The complementary breakfast area was well stocked, clean and well organized. I felt we got great value staying at this property and would stay here again on a return trip to Portland.

    « Great Choice »

For the pricing and rating of this hotel it is an excellent choice for staying in the Portland area. It is located near a light rail transit station, and is a short drive from the PDX airport. There are several restaurant and fast food options nearby, and there is a large Wal-Mart a short distance away. The hotel decor was aesthetically pleasing and the bathroom was spacious. The beds were comfortable and the amount of desk/dresser space was convenient. The staff was also gracious and responsive to requests. It's also worth noting their use of solar panels, energy efficient lighting, and recycling service for separated items.

    « Dog owner »

Great place for pets. Friendly staff. A bit hard to find, but I drove on Portland City streets. Worked in Portland 35 years ago and five p.m. traffic is even worse. Left for airport st five a.m. So can't report on breakfast -- only had to make one U-turn to find the airport.

    4
    « Great location.....large room »

Nice Hotel and with us traveling with pets, we had the ground floor. Only thing we didn't like about the Hotel was the hardwood floors (no carpet, first time encountering that). Not good for dogs that tap, tap, tap along the hardwood floors with their nails - especially at night! Breakfast facilities were nice.

    3
« Hotel on the wrong end of the airport »

Looking at the map this hotel looks to be the same distance from PDX as the Pony Soldier Inn so I thought I'd try it. The trouble is that there is no good way to get to the airport. The GPS took me back across the river to Washington and over to the 205 on highway 14. As the crow flies, the airport is maybe 4 miles away but the routing managed to make it more like 12 miles. The hotel is decent though I greatly prefer the Pony Soldier ambience to the modern art style of the rooms. The room was clean and comfortable though.

« Nice Place to Stay »

As a retired couple, we came to visit our son and stayed here for four nights. The room was large, clean, and updated. The location was very convenient for traveling all around Portland - close to Interstate 5 and the NW area. The staff was friendly and the breakfast had lots of options. We will stay here again!

    4
« Reasonable Portland Hotel with Easy access Downtown »

Overall, a good value, clean hotel in Portland with very easy access to Downtown (by Train). Clean and spacious rooms, free breakfast, free parking and free internet (although it was at times difficult to connect and kept kicking is out). We would definitely consider staying here again in future. Pet Friendly and great for families.

    3
    « Good »

Rooms were updated, bathroom was large, overall room was comfortable. One downfall is that there were 4 cars that were broken into during our stay (windows were shattered). A guest that had his car broken into said that staff said that the security cameras in the parking lot are not working. Almost felt like it was an inside job, because at no point during our stay, coming and going past the front desk, did any of the staff mention the break ins and to be careful.

    2
« Nice hotel but rude staff member »

The hotel was very clean and our room was large. It came with a refrigerator, microwave oven and safe. We also had a nice view from Room 204 of the trees. The location was ideal. In less than five minutes, we could walk to the Max Train station. However, Jeff treated me very poorly. I am a repeat customer (this is my third time at this property). When I asked him what time breakfast would be served, he said, "At the same time it was the last time you were here." Then I asked him, "What is the Wifi code?" He replied, "It's the same code as last time." When he charged my debit card, I told him, I would like to use my credit card for the hotel charge and he said, "You'll have to wait until you check out to change your form of payment. I already charged your card." He should have treated me better since I'm a repeat customer!

    4
    « Good Location »

I loved the location of this hotel and it's easy access to downtown and back onto interstate. I was concerned about the night time noise but they've done a good job in insualting the hotel rooms inside and the hallways.

    2
« Clean and convenient but loud »

The hotel was clean, check in was hassle free and the breakfast was well stocked with many options. I however had an issue with room #114. It is right next to a room that appears to be used by front desk staff. The door was constantly opening and closing at 4:45 this morning, banging on the security latch they use to keep the door from closing. A do not disturb sign on my door indicated that #114 was occupied. We have all dealt with inconsiderate guests at hotels, but for an employee not to realize that the metal on metal banging before 5am could be heard by their customers was unacceptable.

    5
    « Good Location »

We were concerned that the location would be isolated or inconvenient. Not so - it was close to shopping, restaurants, our friend's house and easy to get downtown and on to the interstate. Very quiet location. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

    1
« Management is aware of all of the break ins of cars that goes on in there parking lot and doesnt seem to care. »

Hotel itself was nice, parking lot security is non-existent and the manager (albert, I believe his name was) is a defensive and arrogant jerk who blamed us for having our car broken into, and told me that he found my criticism to be "personally insulting" - I will point out that this criticism was offered in the presence of my wife and a member of the Portland Police who said I was within my rights to say what I did and it wasn't I his opinion, personally offensive at all. My voice was calm, I didn't make personal comments or insults, and my words were truthful, but "albert" took them as a personal affront. Three other cars were broken into and ransacked the night after our car was smashed open for nothing more than a blanket and a pair of shoes stolen from it. The hotel does not have a legible sign warning people about the property crime in the lot - the sign they do have in a distant corner of the parking lot is rusted and broken in half. The manager said that the lot is patrolled "twice a night", which in Octobers' 12+ hours of darkness, means once every six hours. The security cameras are not monitored despite all of the break ins that go on there. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience and in 50 years I have never encountered a hotel manager as ignorant as this guy. This "conversation" with the manager occurred at 11 AM Sunday Oct 16/16. We have stayed at this hotel before and found it pleasant, returning again this year - for what will definitely be our last time at this hotel.

    1
« BEWARE; HIGH CRIME hotel, and arrogant manager. »

Considerable detail of our experiences during this Oct 14 - 17 2016 stay at this Best Western location have been provided earlier in this review. This hotel is located in a high crime location and hotel management offers absolutely no attempts to deal with the problem.

    4
    « Very nice hotel »

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Very clean. Large nicely decorated rooms. Spacious bathroom with beautiful vanity and mirror. Friendly and very helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was the same every day but plentiful and good. Location close to train station to downtown, just off main interstate, and had a variety of stores and restaurants close by. Would definitely recommend.

  • 4
    « So convenient »

This BW is right beside I5 with easy on and off access. The beauty of this motel is that it's five minutes walking to the "yellow" train that takes you into Pioneer Square in downtown Portland. The Motel is very clean and the front desk folks were very accommodating with our early arrival. This is the way to see downtown Portland. Don't drive in and spend a lot of money on a city hotel. Stay out and take the train. Fun and cheap. Of course you don't have a great restaurant selection.

    2
« Slightly balding, glasses wearing front desk guy HAS TO GO!! »

The front desk employees are suppose to be the people with the best customer service skills, and this was clearly not the case with this man! First of all, he acted so put out by us showing up to check in it was hard not to ask him if he had a problem! Then when we asked him about hot tub and breakfast hours, look out I thought his head was going to pop off! The rest of the employees do deserve a better rating than given here because they were very helpful, full of smiles, and great to speak with; but honestly, this guy will make me stay else where since he made us feel so unwelcome!

    5
« Really Nice and friendly! »

I stayed for only a few hours overnight but wish I could have stayed longer. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfy and the room was great. The decor was contemporary and very nice. I will stay here again on my next trip to Portland.

    2
« No sleep in Portland »

As diamond card members and using travel points for a room you would think we would get excellent service? WRONG! This hotel chain charged us an incidental hold of $500 because we were within 100 miles of our home. I have stayed at a Best Western 5 miles from my home and charged only $25 incidental hold. They ended up putting a $575 hold on our Amex which is still on to this day. They had no explanation of this $575 charge but they were looking into it, right! The people in the room above us sounded like a heard of horses and monkeys. Cupboards slammed and running back and forth late at night. We had a 275 mile drive ahead of us and got no sleep at this hotel. Where was the management? At checkout we asked about this $575 hold and the clerk asked us if the clerk at check-in swiped our card twice. Isn't that a question they should ask their employee? Lesson is don't stay at this hotel they have no idea what they are doing and the hard beds and noisy customers will ensure you get bad service and no sleep. Vancouver Mall has a MUCH MUCH better Best Western that knows their job and discourages loud intrusive patrons. Beware!!!

    « Foodie Trip »

The room was wonderful. It was very clean. It included a safe, microwave and two refrigerators. The hot breakfast was delicious. The negatives would be walking 1/3 mile from the max train in the dark. The hotel was not helpful when asking for shuttle service. We relied on Uber for a lot of our transportation. We asked about guest laundry and we were told they didn't have it, but a few days later we asked another employee and they showed up where it was. Overall, the hotel was a wonderful value. The housekeeping and maintenance employees were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

    4
    « Meadows! What Meadows? »

We had the impression that we would be looking out over rolling fields - wrong! That said if you are visiting Portland it would be hard to find a more convenient place to stay. The staff were superb, rooms quiet and comfortable and the parking free. The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the MAX and having tasted Portland traffic my best advice is to lock up your SUV until you leave. (Tip - seniors can travel all day on all forms of public transport for a very small charge, so why burn gas?) The hotel is surrounded by places to eat and if you want to picnic there is a Walmart just across the way. Breakfast is included and pretty good.

    4
« A place that you can be comfortable with. »

Overall, The Meadows was a solid place to stay during our visit to Portland. The location isn't very interesting but it seemed safe. It's centrally located and getting into Portland (or Vancouver) isn't too complicated. Finding the entrances into the hotel is a slight challenge since the hotel is located off the street behind a few businesses. Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was very good. They offered eggs and sausage which not all Best Westerns do. Hot tub is clean and fairly large. A nice way to end a day.

    4
« Great place to stay in Portland »

We stayed here for an event at the Convention Centre. This was a great location and easy to get the Convention Centre. The hotel is a great value. The rooms were clean and spacious the bathroom was really large and bright. I found the beds to be comfortable. The breakfast was added value as there was a lot of selection. I really liked the oatmeal and all the available toppings!

    3
    « Nice stay »

The staff were nice and helpful and the room spacious. The beds were comfortable. The price of the room was reasonable and came with a free breakfast. The wifi was good too. The hotel is close to the MAX so we were able to get into the city quickly and cheaply. Had a nice stay and would recommend it to other travelers on a budget.

    4
    « 20 year anniversary getaway »

Nice hotel and convenient to the airport. We also used there shuttle to get to the airport when we left. The staff was very nice and breakfast was better than average. We enjoyed eating at the two cafe/diners in the same parking lot. We spent most of our time downtown using Uber to get back and forth, it cost an average of 15$ each way.

  • 4
« Clean and good location »

The Hotel is in a good location, that helped us avoid traffic. It was central to where the areas we wanted to visit. The rooms were spacious and clean. Free daily breakfast was a plus. Staff was friendly.

    4
    « Convenient »

Stayed here 3 nights. The front desk staff were friendly even if they didn't seem to know nearby stores very well. The room was large and clean. The carpets everywhere could use a deep clean but otherwise clean. Breakfast was good offering sausage, scrambled eggs, breads, juices and more. It did not vary from day to day so you knew what you were getting. It was right near I5 and about 10-15 minutes to most touristy things in Portland. It was also about 4 miles from the airport (close). Has a Burger King, Shari's, and Elmer's right next to it too. I'd stay here again for sure.

    4
    « Girls outing! »

Hotel was very conveniently off I-5. Very nice rooms that was beautifully updated. Breakfast had a great variety of choices and warm food seemed to be cooked. Not just out of a box! Close to MAX, so easy access to downtown Portland etc. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would come back and would recommend this to anybody.

    4
« Nice new finishes, paper thin finishes »

This hotel has been recently updated with nice finishes and clean rooms. Beds/linens were confortable. Fantastic breakfast with hot foods, and cereals. Staff is all very friendly and helpful. There's a small pool. Convenient location to I-5, with a few restaurants and stores nearby. Price was reasonable and room included a microwave and mini-fridge. The downside: all 1st floor rooms overlook a parking lot, walls are paper thin, a large gap under the door meant every noise in the hall could be heard, and there was a weird odor in the room (maybe construction adhesive mixed with damp smell). Overall, it was a great hotel if you're a heavy sleeper.

    5
    « Very Nice »

It was very nice. Very Clean, comfortable bed, plenty of space in the room to work. Buffet style breakfast was good. So many Hotels say free breakfast & it turns out to be continental, fruit, ect.. They served scrambled eggs, sausage, breads of all type, cereals and more.

    4
    « Would Stay Again .... »

The Hotel was clean and the staff friendly, Free shuttle to and from the airport which is great ! Full Breakfast rather than just a continental breakfast is included, which is nice. The rates are affordable !

    2
« Book your airport shuttle 24 hours in advance! NO EXCEPTIONS »

The hotel was fine, kind of loud, but we booked it because it was advertised to have an airport shuttle, which YOU MUST BOOK 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE, which is not clearly mentioned anywhere in the listing. Don't try contacting the hotel 18 hours in advance, because they will NOT allow you to use the shuttle. So, we had to get a $40 cab ride to get to the hotel. We travel frequently for business and recreation, and this is the most inconvenient shuttle ever. Also, we could NOT get a ride from the shuttle in the morning to go round up the now necessary rental car. WE incurred over $100 of extra charges this weekend because the shuttle is really not a courtesy shuttle by any stretch of the imagination. Also, the manager tried to pin it on us after I wrote in to complain. JUST SAY NO if you hoping for convenience and value.

    5
« Great stay for conference downtown »

The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast huge and continuously refreshed with new food items. The room was spacious and quiet and the parking was easy, plentiful and free. Overall a great stay for a local conference

    5
« Very clean and very friendly »

This hotel was one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. the people working there were so friendly and wanted to help. they were always making sure everything was okay. the shuttle service back and forth from the Expo Center was so frequent and very helpful.

    4
« Whirlwind visit to Portland »

Inn at the Meadows was a good value for a brief stop in Portland on our way to Bend. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was nicely appointed with a sink and a small fridge. The "pool" is actually a large rectangular jacuzzi, but there is a nice patio where we sat out in the sun with beverages and a card game. It was very easy access into downtown for dinner. We could have taken the train, but chose to drive and found free parking on the street. Our stay included a free breakfast that was quite tasty: flavorful, fluffy scrambled eggs, sausages, various pastries and cereals, coffee, juice, etc. It was nice to eat and just be able to hit the road to our next destination. We would stay here again when we aren't in the mood to pay for an expensive hipster hotel downtown!

  • 4
« Friendly staff and spacious room »

Staff were very friendly. The breakfast was above average. The hot tub was needed after a days of long walk in Washington Park and Pittock Mansion. Room was spacious and the bed was soft and oh so nice.

    4
    « Surprised »

Not sure why the bad ratings lately. We enjoyed our stay. Super quiet even though room was next to stair case and right next door was a BK drive through. (Could only hear it when window was open). Staff very polite and helpful, breakfast plentiful, good proximity to light rail transport to downtown. Not a 4 star but decent enough.

    4
« Two days to unwind »

We have stayed here before when we visit Portland. It beats paying more to stay downtown when it is only a ten minute drive into town. The staff are great, and there free hot breakfast leaves you full. We had a big room too

    3
« Pretty darn good for what it is trying to be but I can't say very good »

This is a Best Western in the midst of renovation. The badly worn hall of the 3rd floor carpeting left a poor impression which is too bad because the room was very tasteful. But the hall width was exceptional and that made coming and going easy even if service carts or other guests were out in the hall. My wife loved the two luggage racks in the room. That meant beds could be kept clear and clean and thinks having two was a first for us across all our travels. The room we had was completely redone but design yielded a lack of lighting in the required locations. There were numerous outlets but immediately bedside there was only one in the lamp. Despite new electrical outlets installed, they did not use the combo outlets/usb port style. Large counter in bathroom but no storage so everything is left on counter top. Gushing water in single sink but okay water pressure in shower. A/C unit has digital temp control and auto/lo/hi fan speed control. However, we could not get the fan to stay on. Air blower only operated when compressor was running. Not a quiet unit but tolerable for as as we like a bit of ambient noise especially in hotel situations. Somehow the room a/c unit was left in an inoperable state as the built in circuit breaker in the cord was tripped. When I could not get the unit started I stood back and saw the larger end of the power cord and guessed correctly what that meant. I reset the breaker and plugged the unit back in and power was restored. We were end room on third floor. Very quiet generally but hall noises discernible, nearby bathroom noises leaked thru, and windows/frames did not seal out parking lot noise. We arrived very late, after 11pm, the first night and had difficulty locating the access drives. There two drives each with a large logo sign above and a smaller sign down at driver's eye level however I swear they were not illuminated that late that evening. We saw them lit on other evenings. Hotel had an amazing number of people working both at the front desk and in housekeeping. They were all pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was good with staff actually working to keep up with crowd. There was a selection of items and I thought the breakfast sausage links were among the tastiest I ever had anywhere. Knowing the tip about the second seating area across the hall by the ATM/pool access hall helped. The second room was less crowded, less noisy and considerably cooler/more comfortable. Located in a non-residential area the hotel has nearby a few neighboring stores and restaurants. But the restaurants are Elmer's and Burger King among others; the stores are Wal-mart and Lowe's hardware among others.

    « Ok stay »

Hotel was decent. The rooms were clean and updated. He had a sink drainage problem but it was resolved quickly by maintenance. The bed was extremely hard. Breakfast sausage was burnt. Scrambled eggs were runny. We used a Groupon to stay here so value was fine. I would not have been happy if I had paid their full rates.

« Great place and location »

This hotel is one of the nicest, cleanest, and best run hotels I have ever stayed at. The free breakfast was amazingly good. The location was perfect to access the Portland area I travel a lot and was very impressed

Our Portland stay was at the end of a 10 day driving trip. We enjoyed staying ar Best Western so we became a member. Staff was very helpful with directions around Portland. Our room was very comfy & very clean. I appreciate that the staff is very professional.Very nice breakfast.

    « Fair »

This hotel is the options of "fair" in all respects. The breakfast, the rooms, the service etc. The airport shuttle doesn't run all of the time and you have to book it 24 hours in advance. Also, they won't take you out to the airport if you need to pick up a rental car (shuttle is just for flights). The room was noisy (as was the air conditioner). The highlight was that the hotel is walking distance from the train (MAX) which will get you most place around town. We wouldn't stay here again.

    « Great friendly staff »

Great friendly staff. Very helpful with directions and tourist things to do. Good location next to the metro. Free shuttle to the airport. Had a nice breakfast. Rooms were clean and decorated nice. Would definitely stay there again.

    « Worked out okay »

We were here for 4 nights. Staff is very professional, bed comfortable and the room was clean. It can get noisy at night with people partying in the parking lot, but calling the front desk resolved the problem.

« One surly jobsworth failed to spoil a fine stay »

An excellent room with all amenities. One of the best in our tour of Washington and Oregon. Check in, however, was spoiled by a miserable humourless chap who was determined to go through his set speech. Even down to telling us how to take the lift to the second floor! Reasonable breakfast with tasty sausages.

    « Meh »

The hotel is renovated and looks nice and was clean for the most part. However the carpets in our room and the hallways were old and dingy. My room smelled like wet, moldy carpet and you could not walk on it barefoot or with socks it just felt moist. Wearing flip flops around the room was the way to go. The complimentary hot breakfast was actually very good. They breakfast hosts were very nice and efficient. My big tiff for the hotel was safety. I completely understand that since I booked an Expedia room, I wasn't expecting the best room available, but I would think that if you see a female, checking in alone, you would not put me on the ground floor, 1st room by an exit. Not to mention, the area outside the exit was very desolate and creepy. There is a huge homeless population hanging around in the area. So much that there is actual park 3 minutes from the hotel with broken down cars, tents, tarps, etc. It's quite a sad site to see. Nevertheless, I was told the hotel was full, so no luck there. My suggestion would be to request a room away from the exits if you're traveling alone.

    « Loud, loud, loud! »

Stayed here September 8th and 9th, 2016. The room itself was fine, nothing special, but was clean and looked good. One thing to note is that the floor was wood and not carpet which has its pros and cons. Now my complaints and the reason for two stars. Dogs barking! People slamming their doors at all hours, people sitting outside my window basically having a party when my wife and I were trying to sleep. People above me decided to shower at 12:30am and then I heard drip. drip. drip, for 30 minutes in my room. Obviously a leak somewhere. A huge gap under the door so the room was lit up the whole night. Needless to say, I did not get much sleep and honestly, that's what a hotel room is for, to sleep after being out exploring, visiting, etc. Never got to try the breakfast because I was finally asleep at 9am when it closed. Will not stay here ever again.

« First trip to portland. »

Hotel was being remodeled but was still quiet and clean. nice sized rooms and VERY good breakfast. The breakfast space itself was small but had several hot options plus pancakes and all the traditional fares. Shuttle to and from airport was also very helpful.

    « Clean, quiet, comfortable »

Convenient, practical place to stay when attending events at PIR. Rooms nice, well equipped, well maintained. Breakfast included was convenient and quite acceptable with some variety and healthy choices. Staff responsive to requests.

    « Was a Little Disappointed »

Pros for this hotel is being walking distance to the light rail system. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Beware the breakfast is exactly the same each morning (at least it was for the three days we were there in August) The room was spacious. The air conditioner was very noisy. There were no individual shower amenities, just those refillable soap dispensers hanging on the shower. Of note, I removed one bottle as it was empty and not dispensing conditioner and the cleaning staff happily replaced the bottle back in the dispenser without refilling it. The hallways are very run down. The carpets are dingy and stained. They had a carpet covering a hole in the tile floor just outside the elevators.

    2
    « Very noisy »

Room 203 was so noisy we managed to get about 3 hours sleep - but no more! The room needs triple glazing for there to be any chance of a good nights sleep. The a/c unit in the room was very noisy and clearly so were a lot of the others as once we switched our own unit off the noise from the units in other rooms reverberated through the walls and structure. The much vaunted hot breakfast was amongst the worst we have had in the USA. We woul defeiniet;y NOT stay at this hotel again

    4
« Great stay for attending the races »

Hotel is right next to the race track so super convenient - and it was very comfortable, with spacious rooms and all the usual amenities, but with a larger kitchen area than most hotels. A bit pricier than usual though.

« Extended stay on road trip »

Clean quiet and accessible. Quick drive to downtown to Powells and other Portland must sees. Check in was a little annoying I thought I had prepaid my room as it was a gift from my mother and needed to be on her card upon arrival I found out it wasn't it was only reserved. The clerk was quite snippy about it and even a little rude to my friend we we had to use her card. The morning staff however were super nice and told us my mom use had to send in an authorisation form and it was all set to rights had the evening guy offered that it would've been a 5 points! Free breakfast was great very good options and hearty. Food places near by and a Walmart. The rooms had been updated just not the floors and halls and the elevator was a little sketch at times. Also the hall ways and elevator was super hot as well. All in all a good clean comfortable stay would recommend.

« BREAKFAST included!! Your money will be well spent! »

My BF & I took a 5 day trip to Portland before school started. We really enjoyed our stay at the Meadows. It is located in the industrial part of Portland. About 16 min car drive & 40 min train ride to the city, which to me is not bad at all. Given the fact that the yellow line is located just about a 8 min walk. Warning! The walk is a little sketchy given the fact that you do have to walk under an overpass & pass up some sketchy people but if you have a buddy system you will be fine. The plus side is that the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to & from the yellow line station. We used the public transportation our entire stay & it was great. You just ask the front desk an 1hr or 1/2 hr before you wish to depart. As for getting picked up at the station after an all day exploring Portland, it came very handy. I would call them 2 stops away from our destination station (near the hotel) to request a shuttle pick up & to see if it was available. Every time I called the staff was ready to pick us up! Shuttle Services run until 10 PM for the yellow line. Now for the airport you must make a reservation at least 24hrs before. The staff was friendly & very helpful. The breakfast was good! They had a good selection of hot & cold. My fav were the sausage links!! So good! The breakfast staff was very courteous & ready to assist you. After the 3rd day you might get tired of eating the same thing for breakfast but it is your choice to eat at the hotel or go out & find your own breakfast. The beds are a little hard but nevertheless to me they were comfortable enough. The rooms are spacious. No noise complaints in our part. The rooms are equipped w/ a fridge & a microwave so if you bring snacks or plan a lunch for your outings these appliances come in handy. I know it helped us a lot! The cleaning staff were great in keeping the room very clean. If I come back to Portland for another visit I would definitely stay at the Meadows. Thank you to all the staff that made this stay very pleasant. To us the price we paid for this stay was very well spent.

« Clean & large room. Bathroom counter space was exceptional. »

We found the hotel to be quiet (we requested a top floor room away from elevator), clean and the room was large. Beds were comfortable, even though I prefer a slightly softer mattress & most hotels are on the firm side. The bathroom counter had LOTS of space which was appreciated. The energy efficient light bulbs in the room were a bit dim for reading in bed. Otherwise a great room. Only complaint was that breakfast ends at 9 AM it was quite crowded around the food serving areas at 8:30 AM. We skipped breakfast because we couldn't deal with it. Also wish brewed coffee was available in the lobby area. In-room coffee maker would probably have been okay, but we didn't have half & half cream which we prefer. Burger King is next door, so that's an option for coffee.

    « Horrible »

I purchased a groupon that had a 2 adult maximum with 2 queen beds. When redeeming the groupon I was told that I would be charged $10 for each child over the age of 12. The room was $188 after taxes and fees and ended up being over $200. When I explained that the groupon didn't say anything about additional fees I was told I should read the groupon carefully and not just click when I see a low price. I purchased a groupon for 2 queen beds for my family and the groupon only covered 2 adults. I was told the industry standard is 2 adults p/room with 2 queen beds. I've never been to a hotel and paid extra for my children with an extra queen bed available. The room stunk and the location is very shady. I think this Best Western is way over priced and not worth $200 for 4 people. The staff was very unprofessional and sarcastic. The responses from the hotel on Facebook tell exactly how the staff operates. Don't waste your money on a shady practice hotel that gouges family and looks to nickel and dime you at every corner. Did I mention the room smelled like cat litter and after reading reviews on Facebook I see I wasn't alone in that thinking.

    « Clean , comfy and convienent »

We stay here when we are in Portland to visit the grandchildren. It is always clean and comfy. The rooms are all remodeled and the beds are comfy. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms all have mini frig's and the breakfast is good and convenient.

« Nice staff and lovely room »

Joshua was very accommodating. We came in early and he was able to check us in right away. The room was clean and very nice for the groupon deal I had. A/c was a bit loud and would auto shut-off after a few hours and I would wake up hot but it wasn't bad, still slept through. Breakfast had variety but was the same thing for the 4 days we were there (eggs and sausage). Nevertheless, it was good for the price.

« Girls night out to see Josh Groban »

Friendly caring and helpful staff. Staff very accomodating. We had a car full of luggage and paraphernalia pre concert at Edgefield. We needed to make more space for passengers so we stopped early morning and checked in. Our room was not quite ready but staff assisted us in storing luggage until we returned late that night. Nice touch. I have stayed at this location before and always find staff to be accomodating guest needs. As usual our room was very clean and quiet.

« Cleanliness, Quality and Price of the Hotel »

The hotel doesn't look nice outside but once I entered my room I was really surprised. It looks newly renovated and very modern and very clean. It is a very spacious room with 2 people. I will surely recommend to my friends and relatives and will definitely stay in this hotel if I go back to Portland again.

« great stray with good access to downtown Portland via light rail »

we chose this motel as we wanted to be able to get to downtown Portland via public transport. Delta Park station on the yellow line is about ten mins walk or,less from the motel. Our room at the motel was spacious and comfortable and we liked the stylish decor. We did have problems with noise from the upper floor - we were on the second. We could hear voices, laughter and movement from the floor above late at night. Would suggest top floor to avoid this. Breakfast selection was good although very crowded. there is an overflow room near the hot tub which has extra tables but no one seems to know about this. Staff pointed it out to us when we checked in. It was very hot when we stayed so a shame there is only a hot tub. however it is large

    « Very nice! »

I really loved this hotel for the price. The room was large, the bathroom was spacious with a great lighted mirror. I love how the room had everything you needed. It was super clean also which is my biggest pet peeve. The breakfast was excellent as well. The location was ideal. It was just a short drive to the city if traffic wasn't too bad. I would definitely stay here again.

« Alright room not quite what I expected from a best Western »

So we stayed here because of the access to the expo center ,I guess it suprised me it was so basic I felt like I was at a motel 6 , the spa closed at 9 which I think is ridiculous for the area all events are pretty late around there . Staff was nice enough just not up to the standard u would expect from "inn at the meadows" it was comfortable and the beds weren't terrible plenty of pillows and the bathroom was really nice

    « Served its purpose »

Shuttle wait from the airport was quite long. I was instructed to call as the plane landed so I did and it still took an hour from there. Breakfast had variety but did not change day to day and not very good. We weren't expecting much but sausages were way too well done (and we were there for 3 days) and you can tell they were just struggling to keep up feeding the very busy breakfast area. The room was fine though. We liked the location outside the downtown area but close enough to sites. Nice service to shuttle us over to train station nice to have free parking when we got rental car. Tip - don't rent a car at the airport. Take their free shuttle and rent at the city. It's a lot cheaper. Hopefully you won't wait as long as we did for the airport pick up though.

    2
    « Thin Walls »

The walls and ceilings of this hotel are very thin and you can hear your neighbours' voices and footsteps far too easily which is why I have given a "poor" rating. It is unfortunate because the room was lovely a with modern decor and the bed comfy.

    3
    « One night »

The room was fine, perfectly neat and clean. My only complaint was that the people leaving at 4am were extremely rude laughing, slamming doors and carrying on like it were 10am. Luckily my boys slept through it but I did not.

    3
« Will do for one night, bring earplugs »

Stayed here for one night before catching a flight home. The price was good but overall the value average. We stayed on the second floor and at night it seemed like the people above were playing tennis or something. Lots of noise as they went back and forth across the room late at night. My suggestion for the hotel would be to put earplugs in with the toiletries so you have that option if needed. But bring some for sure to make sure you get some sleep. The beds were ok, pillows terrible. The room itself was clean and spacious enough. Parking is plenty and free. Staff was friendly and breakfast average. Would recommend staying on top floor to avoid the noise. Elevators are easily accessible from lobby.

« Drunken Neighbor Banters with Staff - 2 hours of lost sleep is worth $14 to Manager »

I'll keep this simple. The inner-spring mattress was tired sagging in the middle, giving me a sore back after one night and we were awoken Monday night at 2 am to the sound of hotel staff arguing with our drunken neighbor about flooding his room and the room below. Hotel staff continued bantering back and forth with him for two hours knocking on his door, talking to him, calling each other on what sounded like headsets using loud voices. I called and the person at the front desk said and they informed me of the situation and said to talk to the manger tomorrow -- really they meant later today. At least the party downstairs was relocated to a quiet location. The banter back and forth between the staff and the our neighbor finally ended at 4 am and I got back to sleep. In the morning, I tried to speak with a manager and waited till 10 am but one never appeared. Finally I received a call from the manager and he said the entire situation was "not our fault" before every apologizing. He offered me a 2000 pts or a 10% discount on my first night. I politely said I would speak to him in person and that 10% was not acceptable. Before hanging up he said that, "he had already thought about this and wouldn't be changing his mind about the discount." I replied that I would speak to him in person. The next day, I spoke to him in person and asked him to put himself in my shoes. "How would you feel on your vacation if you were awoken at 2 am for 2 hours? He replied that, "he had already made the calculation," (for my 2 hours of lost sleep I suppose) and that I used the wifi, television, towels, water, and electricity, and should pay for those. The next night we had to call down to the front desk to ask them to turn off the industrial fan in the flooded room next door so that the walls would stop shaking. If you want a cheap stay far from the city center and don't mind being treated like it, stay here. I've avoided BW for a while as Hilton and Marriott have branded Homewood Suites and Springhill Suites very well and keep the experience consistent and excellent. The Inn at the Meadows looks great on the outside with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of solar panels and new windows. The breakfast staff are attentive and courteous, making scrambled eggs and potatoes from scratch all morning, but the breakfast room is woefully undersized for the size of the hotel. This is where the positives end unfortunately. No more BW for me.

    2
    « Dissapointing »

While visiting Oregon with friends ,we've decided to stay at this hotel since it seemed like a decent cost/performance choice. My overall experience was disappointing, the room had funny mold smell, the bathroom had lot's of problems, the breakfast was very dull. In a nutshell - bad value for money, we will not come back again.

    5
    « Good stay »

Hotel was great overall. We had a suite and there was a tiny bit of damage to some of the furniture. But overall it was great. Room was clean & spacious, staff was friendly, bed was comfy. I would definitely stay there again.

    5
« Convenient and Comfortable Location »

Clean and comfortable rooms, good full breakfast (though missing cold cereal options). Convenient location to airport, close restaurants, even a Wal-Mart. Access to I-5 is great, but beware that the exit off I-5 is often backed up when bridge is active (you will need to find an alternate route). Helpful staff when needed.

    4
« Get towels at check in »

We were here for a wedding. We took a shower there was no bath mat so we had to use a towel. I called the front desk for more towels but I never got them. I suggest that if you need towels get them at check in or go to the desk yourself and pick them up.

    4
« Walking Distance to PIR + Clean, Safe, and Friendly »

This hotel is a 5-minute walk (15 if you amble) from Portland International Raceway and offers a free airport shuttle, which makes it really convenient if you're visiting for the races and don't want to deal with Portland traffic. Easy location, good breakfast, and right next door to a couple of restaurants with good food and good service (we liked Elmer's!). Quite a few racers stayed here, as well, and their cars were safe in the lot. Finally, the staff were super helpful when I left some items in the desk and shipped them to me quickly and with no fuss. Thank you!

    « Excellent stay »

We stayed in room #336. Clean and spacious. Great staff. Kudos to Amber at the front desk for her excellent service! We chose this hotel because of a Groupon. I was a bit worried that it might be far away from town, but it sure didn't seem like it....We were only a few minutes drive from downtown. I think it took less than 10 minutes to get to Powell City of Books. Walmart was behind the hotel (not that you would know it since the parking lot backs onto their loading dock) which was nice for supplies (wine, beer, water). The free buffet was great, even for our daughter who is a bit picky about her foods.

    5
    « Good and bad »

The Meadows is a very nice facility, very clean, professional staff, conveniently located. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone. The bad is Best Western itself. Their rewards system is the absolute worst to deal with. In the past I have not shopped but now that has changed. The loyalty is a one way street with BW so from now on they will have to earn the business. It is impossible to redeem your points.

    5
« Excellent stay at BW Inn at the Meadows »

This hotel was excellent. Our room looked very modern and bathroom was very clean. Beds were comfy. Walmart is just behind it. =) They serve hot breakfast buffet style (potatoes, sausages and scrambled eggs - they have a bar for pancake, toasts / bread, drinks. Breakfast was filling. Loved our stay but wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely book at this hotel when we come back to Portland.

    « Very nice place. »

Upon arrival we where welcome by Joshua at the desk. He provided great information on areas to visit during our stay in Portland. Also provided information on rail and bus lines. Easy access to both around the corner, five minute walk. Room was great, breakfast was ok, No pool, but hout tub available. Eat downtown my recommendation. The small restaurants in the area, well lets just say, if your really hungry and don't want to drive. Hotel was fantastic.

« Spacious room, but dim lighting »

We surprised at the spaciousness of the room. There were two comfortable chairs - a rolling padded desk chair and an upholstered chair with ottoman. The upholstered chair was a little low, though, for us seniors. It was difficult to get out of it. There as a nice long desk-table to spread out papers and read my iPad. There as an adequate number of electrical outlets to recharge cell phones, etc. The lighting in the room needs to be brighter. It was pretty dim! Same thing in the bathroom. The bathroom also had a good size counter to place things on. The room was clean and comfortable. There was an extra blanket in the closet, which was nice, as my husband and I have different sleeping temperature needs. The ac worked well. The room was quiet, but every once in a while we could hear sounds from the outside pool and people in the hallway. The TV was modern and worked well. The staff was personable and courteous. The window had two roll up shades to it, so you could adjust the natural lighting. And the window could be opened and closed to allow outside air in, if desired. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, potatoes (a little bland, though), sausage, pancakes, and all the other usual continental breakfast items. The breakfast attendant made sure that everything was constantly refilled. Plenty of parking for the hotel. There are a Shari's, Elmers, and Burger King restaurants right next to the hotel - easy walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to others.

    « Wonderful stay »

Although I didn't use everything available to me, what I did use was perfect. The room was very comfortable and spacious. It was very clean. All of the staff I saw were friendly and helpful. I'm hoping to come back and stay again when I can be there a little longer.

« One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had »

I am on a "bucket List" trip of 45 days, traveling around the USA. I have had some great places and some real disappointments, but this hotel is best in every category! 1) The breakfast buffet is varied and has a little of everything and is held in a large dining room 2) the WIFI is free and you can easily stream movies 3) the TV is large and new and the Direct TV channel selection is huge 4) The room is a mini-suite and has a kitchen area, refrig and microwave 5) the bed was very comfortable and the sheets soft and 6) the room was quiet and close to ice and vending machines

« A great place to stay for a very fair price »

« Comfortable Stay for Exploring Portland »

We chose this property because it is in the outskirts of Portland and we did not want to drive in downtown Portland. It ended up being a good choice for us. The building is obviously an older property, however, the inside has all been remodeled and looks excellent. Our room (201) was especially well furnished and very clean. It is a short walk to the metro station. This hotel has plenty of open parking and restaurants within walking distance. It is also conveniently located near the freeway. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and Joshua, at the front desk was able to give us a room anyway. This was very helpful because it gave us more time to explore Portland by leaving our car there and taking the metro. I don't think we would have done this if it had been dark because you have to go under the freeway to get to the station. I would not recommend this walk in the dark. Because it was summer and stays light very late, we were able to spend time downtown and return before dark. The breakfast is your typical variety of most free breakfasts offered, you can choose from hot foods or cereal and fruits.

    « Sister time!! »

My sister flew into Portland to visit with me for a few days and I drove up to Portland to see her. I picked her up at PDX Wed. 4pm. Traffic was bumper to bumper on I205 but this gave me a chance to call the hotel to get directions from the airport to BW Inn at the Meadows. I spoke with Jose and he took me step by step, street by street from PDX to BW Inn at the Meadows. Excellent directions I followed the and had no trouble finding the hotel. The next day we wanted to go to Voo Doo Donuts #2 and this time Jeff was at the front desk. He too gave me excellent driving directions. He kept me off the fwy and took me via streets instead of the fwy., which I very much appreciated!! This hotel has been remodeled and freshened since my husband and I were here for an Antiques Show at the EXPO a few years ago. Top notch service and the hotel was very nice!! TY I appreciate all your efforts!!

    « Terrific! »

A lovely hotel that is right by the freeway. It isn't the most scenic of neighborhoods, but there are a number of good restaurants on the same strip. The rooms are huge and clean and the breakfast had many choices, including soy milk!

    « Clean and friendly »

We stayed there while on our road trip, this hotel was the cleanest, quite and on budget. It's outside the city though so going back & forth to city can be challenging given the traffic and confusing bridges but they offer shuttle at certain times do it can work. I will definitely stay there again if in town.

« An Excellent Time in Portland »

Came to Portland for a dog show. and found this hotel quite close to the Expo site. Breakfast was fantastic, the staff were extraordinarily helpful in directing us to great hikes, even printing maps for us. would definitely stay here again. Our only difficulty is that they may no longer welcome pets.

« Overall nice, watch out for hard beds. »

The outside of the hotel is just the Standard Hotel nothing stood out really other than the fact that the grounds are well-kept and clean. The lobby however was very nicely decorated very contemporary and the staff that checked us in was very quick and helpful. We went to the third floor to get to our room and I will say the elevator was a little on the smelly side and once you got to the third floor the hallways seemed very humid and very hot. When you walk into the room you can tell that the room's decor reflected the same decor in the lobby area. Very contemporary and very clean. Nice size mini fridge and a good quality television we also added bonuses. I thought it was a little odd that there was a wet bar in the room but it ended up actually turning into something that was kind of nice to have. Excellent water pressure in the showers and the light up mirror was excellent for putting on makeup. The one thing about the hotel I didn't like was the fact that the bed was extremely hard. It's not the hardest I've ever laid on but it was a very close second. I wondered if it was just me because of the fact that I am pregnant so I asked my husband and he felt the same way that I felt.

    « Large Room »

Large clean room and comfortable beds. Breakfast average - plenty enough to get you on your way. Reception staff friendly Hotel is on outskirts of Portland near highway. Very close to light railway - 10 mins walk where there are frequent trams/trains into the city centre ~ 15 mins ride Good stay - modern rooms

« Good one night stay »

I've been travelling around Oregon for a bit and the Best Western Inn was the first hotel or my trip The hotel looks modern and offered good breakfast, it's a bit noisy as the train and highway is close. But good connection to the airport The only complain I would have is that the "free" Internet is a bit limited and access to Whats App, Skype and Facetime is very restricted. Especially if you want to get in tough with your loved ones it's very inconvenient that you have to go to a Starbucks to call them

    « Great Experience! »

We arrived from New York on Sunday, June 12th to find that the room we had booked had been switched from the Hospitality Suite to a King Suite, a much smaller, single room accommodation. Marching down to the reception desk I was told that yes, indeed, we had been switched, but was given no valid answer for the change. Tired and jet lagged this had all the ear markings of a major disaster if it were not for the courteousness and hospitality of the owner Steve Lee who turned our stay into a most enjoyable five days at the Best Western Inn At The Meadows in Portland. Generally we do not stay in chain hotels, but our experience at the Inn at the Meadows changed my opinion. Steve was very involved in day to day activities and made every effort to accommodate us. The suite we had booked had electrical issues that he worked very diligently to resolve so that we were able to switch to our original room halfway through our stay. We were more than compensated for our inconvenience. In addition, he made us aware of the progress of the room repairs as they occurred. As to the inn itself. It is very clean and modern. The breakfasts are outstanding with actual home fries, eggs, sausage, etc. and the staff are top notch. The hospitality suite, which we were able to switch to for our last two nights, was spacious and attractive. If all Best Westerns were like this one, I would most definitely stay in them. Finally, I have to thank Steve and the staff for a great time in Portland and will definitely return there the next time we are in Oregon.

« Great location close to the airport and excellent breakfast. Great value for your money. »

This place was perfect to stay. Close to the airport. Very large rooms, great internet, and friendly staff. It was close to a cafe to grab dinner, walking distance. Close to I-5 to get on the highway quickly and yet not be downtown Portland in the middle of heavy traffic. The bed was very comfortable and had cold AC. The breakfast was amazing and had everything you could think of. Excellent value for your money. It's a very large hotel, with lots of guests. So breakfast can be quite crowded. I think longer breakfast hours (at least until 10 am) would help. The carpets and halls are slightly dated but adequate. It is close to an area of town that did not seem very nice by the looks, looked pretty run down. But it's right off the highway and I was quite happy with it.

    « A solid Best Western »

Best Westerns aren't luxury hotels, but this one does what one expects very well. Plenty of free parking, an elevator that comes quickly, a good breakfast with enough seating, free wi-fi. No fitness room or pool at this one, though there is a hot tub. Our 2 queen bed room was large and light, with a long counter with a sink, microwave, and the mini-fridge; the best set-up I've seen if you are planning to do light cooking in your room and/or need space to spread out for a few days (in addition to a sizeable bureau and desk). The freezer in the mini-fridge didn't work, even with the temp turned all the way down. When the chain for one of the blinds came off its track, a very friendly maintenance person was at our door in about a minute! Our 2nd floor room was fairly quiet, as requested, though there were running kids above us the first night so it might be worth asking for the 3rd floor. Maybe we just got unlucky, but the traffic on the 5 into Portland was very bad 3 out of 4 trips we made, so be aware that your travel time to downtown may be longer than you expect; this is still a convenient place to stay, but plan accordingly.

    « Portland Area »

We had a lovely 3 night stay. The staff at check-in was friendly and helpful. We requested a roll-away bed that was not immediately available. The front desk kept us appraised of their progress in getting us the extra bed and delivered it within our first 1/2 hour. The housekeeping staff was great - showing up to clean very late after their usual hours so we could sleep in late and lounge around one morning. Breakfast was always well stocked, hot and fresh. Overall a nice stay. Thank you.

    « Everything we needed »

It's hard to beat this place; BW hotels are right for travelers, good rates, good places to sleep, good breakfast, free parking, very clean, pool. And this one has a very nice staff. It was a bit tricky to get to, and they were full up, but still everything was great.

« Happy with my choice! »

Everything was great except check in staff. Was impressed with the bfast! The room was spacious and clean and toiletries and hot water was good. Bed was comfortable and pillows were aired and had no smell. No BUGS or DUST MITES in the bed. Remote control was clean too. I liked that they had a bulletin board up with activities happening all around portland. the check in staff was not helpful nor friendly. He would only answer you if you asked a question and would not volunteer info. His eyes and response were giving 2 different reactions. Overall he should work in a non-hospitable environment.

    « Misleading Photos »

My husband & I stayed in Portland over Thanksgiving week and had a wonderful time. I booked this hotel based on the photos shown in the slideshow for this particular hotel being led to believe that these beautiful vistas would be visible from close to the hotel. The pictures of water & bridges are NOWHERE near this hotel and I was hugely disappointed that there were no views at all. In fact, the "At the Meadows" simply means its next door to a racetrack named The Meadows. The hotel was fine, comfy beds, polite & helpful staff, and clean however...I feel strongly that pictures should not be depicted when they are simply scenic shots of an area far off and not within close proximity to the hotel.

    « I would recommend this hotel »

Nice and clean room, with recently renovated bathroom. Good Breakfast! It was plenty of everything to choose for all members for our family. Children liked pancakes, they made them by themselves. Big room with many tables.

« Second time and still a good place to stay »

This is our second time we stayed at this hotel due to the location (convenient to take tram to Downtown Portland), free parking, and complimentary breakfast. Still have 1 minor compliant and that is the breakfast (hot items) was the same for the 2 nights we were there. If there is alternative hot food then hopefully it's done daily as guests who stay longer would be less likely to enjoy their breakfast. Looking forward to our next stay at this hotel. Thanks again.

    « Lovely »

Large, lovely room with a nice, expansive bathroom!! Friendly staff, great area with restaurants within walking distance. A little close to the interstate, but noise of traffic inside was subdued and not troubling. Great bed!!! Breakfast not as good as it could be, disappointed.

    « Not impressed! »

This is the 5th best western we stayed for this trip. Location is a little out of the town area and if you are planning to visit the Columbia river gorge, the best western Columbia River inn is much closer with awesome views. Front destroy service was standard, there was a small outdoor pool, but it was covered up, so we not not sure if we could use it. Lobby was freshly remodeled, but you can tell the hallways, doors, signage are still old ones from the 70's. The rooms are remodeled but walls are thin. We can hear people getting in and out of the rooms, door closing, water running, toilet flushing, people walking outside the hallway...breakfast was ok, your standard fare. The other best western had their breakfast hours from 6:00 to 10:00' this best western ends breakfast at 9:00, so there was a mad rush of people coming in at 8:30-ish and there were not enough tables to go around. I will probably try some other hotel the next time I visit, since there is a days inn right next door. Wifi is painfully slow.

    « Pull-out bed was filthy. Manager didn't care. »

We are a family of four and rented a suite so we'd have two rooms, a king room and a second room with a pull-out couch for the kids. Upon pulling out the bed in the couch, it was absolutely filthy. The sheets looked as if someone had coated themselves in some kind of skin oil the last time it was slept on, then the sheets became badly oil-stained as they slept. There were also multiple black hairs in the bed. The last thing you want to see in a hotel bed! Normally, if we saw a dirty bed, we would realize that the housekeeping standard was not acceptable and we would immediately leave. However, this time my husband wasn't feeling well and was dozing in the king bed. I called housekeeping, explained the situation, and asked for a complete bed change, which they did take care of quickly enough. The staff person on duty was appropriately apologetic, saying she would talk to her manager about the situation and offered to ask for a discount for our inconvenience. I assumed I'd get one - I have never asked for, but have had discounts offered a few times for far less egregious infractions than this one in other hotels. Imagine my surprise when the woman on duty called back to say no, her manager had refused a discount in spite of the filthy bed, saying that I'd paid a "low enough" rate for the room. He offered to put some points on my Best Western Rewards card instead. I didn't want Best Western points and said no, I preferred a discount - I explained that I had paid a low rate on the room because I used a $50 gift card for part of it, not because I'd gotten some special low rate at booking. Even with this knowledge, the manager refused a goodwill peace offering of even a $10 discount for putting my family in a room with a filthy bed. That's the ONE thing hotels are supposed to do - give my family a clean place to lay our heads - but the manager didn't care about the filthy bed - he had nothing in mind but getting every last bit of his profit out of us. What a rotten way to do business. It certainly didn't fill me with confidence that the person in charge cares about the quality of the product and service he is providing. I didn't give the hotel one star because the staff on duty were apologetic and professional, even in a bad situation, and because the breakfast the next morning was unusually good. But I wouldn't stay at this hotel again for free. And check my many other reviews - I rarely have anything bad to say about a place, but this one earned my bad review fair and square.

« Good staff and location but needs an update »

This was once a nice hotel, the location is great, the staff did a good job but the building itself is looking shabby! We had a room that smelled of mildew and the carpets are horribly stained around the halls. The breakfast area was well maintained but very small so it gets packed in the morning so don't expect a nice quite breakfast it is more like a full on Black Friday sale at the weekend!

« Nice Rooms, Comfortable Beds, Great Best Western Inn Location! »

Our stay was for two nights/three days at this Best Western location. Near the Portland International Airport and easy access to Vancouver, WA, this property is newly redecorated in a contemporary theme with nice roomy guest rooms that a kept very neat and clean. Within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and attractions. If you enjoy thoroughbred racing or auto racing, the Portland Meadows Racetrack (horse racing) and Portland International Speedway (auto racing) are nearby. You can walk across the street for a short trek for horse racing! You can also enjoy day trips to nearby lakes, the Columbia River and Hayden Island. Explore the boutique shops and cafes of central Portland within a 15-20 minute drive! Complimentary hot breakfast is served each morning in the hotel's breakfast room and your hotel stay includes free wifi (great connectivity!). Dog friendly with a dog area (including bags & trash basket for clean-up) and beautiful landscaping with park benches in a grassy area to relax and enjoy in the shade. There is also a swimming pool and outdoor patio area for guests. For our stay, we had a king-size bed room that allowed us to spread out and not feel crowded at all. The bathroom is also very spacious. Very clean and tidy rooms and bathrooms. All of the essentials were included and plentiful.

    « Auction »

I came for the Mecum auction at the expo centre so it was nice to be close. The hotel ran a shuttle service in the morning and we could call the hotel for pick up is the afternoon. Over all it was an enjoyable stay.

    « Really nice property »

I have stayed at Best Westerns before, but this one has by far the nicest rooms. The breakfast was also better than at other BWs (even though they were good). The only problem is that it is not totally convenient to downtown without a car. However, it is within walking distance of the light rail system which can get you downtown and to the Washington Park.

    « A good hotel near Portland »

We stayed 4 nights in this lovely hotel near the highway. It is a very quiet in the hotel. Our room was clean and very spacious. The bathroom is also large and has a mirror that covers all the wall. For breakfast, the choice is very ample. When there are too many people in the breakfast room, there is another room next to the whirlpool where you can sit.Sitting in the whirpool is very relaxing especially in the afternoon when the sun is shining. Wifi is very fast. Traffic is horrible in Portland. For 5 dollars you can take the MAX all day and when you take it at the Delta Park ( a 10 minute walk) it takes 30 minutes to go to the centre of the town. There are several restaurants near the hotel and a few chops. The staff is very helpfull.

    « Very well run »

This hotel is well run and well thought out. All the basics and then some are covered. The breakfast is outstanding--even the coffee is good. The rooms are super comfortable, roomy, clean. The internet works great. The parking is convenient; there is always a place to park. The work area and sitting areas are comfortable, new, modern. I'd come back here again and again. Well done.

    4
    « Decent business trip »

Adequate room, nothing fancy but the bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet and clean. It was a little farther from downtown Portland than I realized, though. I ended up stuck in traffic the next morning and it took a very long time to get to my destination in the morning than I thought it would. Most of my business in Portland is in the downtown or East side areas so I probably wont stay here again just due to the location.

« Steve Lee the General Manager/Owner is an arrogant and argumentative person »

My step daughter planned her first trip as a young adult using her very first credit card that she got in order to book and pay for the room for her and her girlfriends. She booked the room through a site called hotelsforveryone.com. After driving four hours up to Portland, they all arrived at the hotel to check in. Upon presenting her id and credit card to check in, they informed her that it is their hotel policy to not allow anyone under the age of 21 to check in without an adult. Of course, she was embarrassed and stressed due to the fact that they now did not have a hotel room to stay in. She attempted to reach out to her mother and myself but we were unable to take her calls at the time. One of the other girls finally reach her mother and after a lot of back and forth emailing credit cards and id images they finally let her and her friends check into the room. I called the hotel to inform them that the site she used as well as the site bwportlandhotel.com had absolutely no mention of the age requirement they stated. I was merely informing them of this fact and the fact that this was very embarrassing to my step daughter. They began to tell me that they had it listed on their website and directed me to a specific site through several clicks ending up in the AMENITIES section where it was listed. I informed them that the average consumer would never find it that way. I asked them if they would just simply apologize to her for the inconvenience and they said that they would not due to the fact that they did nothing wrong. That evening I called best western corporate to inform them of what had transpired. I even walked them through the various websites and proved that the age requirement was not visible anywhere. I then proceeded to walk them through the way that the front desk told me about. They stated that this is not very apparent at all and that they would reach out to the hotel manager and let them know. The next day I received a call from Steve Lee the general manager and turns out one of the owners as well. I went into the explanation as to what happened and tried to walk him through the websites as well and he became irritated with me and told me that I was yelling at him, bullying him and trying to pigeon hole him into admitting something was wrong. He then went on to tell me that they were not going to apologize to her and that they would not do anything for her and that she was lucky they let her into the hotel. I immediately called corporate again and informed them how Steve Lee handled the situation. Approximately 15 minutes go by and I receive another call from Steve Lee. This time Mr Lee had a completely different tone. He explains to me that if I did not apologize to him for the way that I handled the situation that he was going to give my step daughter the "real adult experience and kick her out of my hotel". Steve Lee, you should not be in customer service in any way shape or form. The way that you handled the situation is appalling and you should be ashamed of yourself. The Best Western chain of hotels has been a favorite of my family for a very long time and you sir give them a bad name.

« Good for a One Night Stay- slightly overpriced »

While on our road trip me and my boyfriend decided to stop here for the night. This place was pretty decent, normal decorations and accommodations for a hotel. The bed was just alright, when we previously stayed at a Mariott in Salt Lake City the bed there was much more comfortable. But I still got a good nights rest. It took us a while to figure out how to work the rooms air conditioning. The bathroom was impressive with a waterfall shower head and back-lit large mirror. My boyfriend thought our one night stay was way over-priced at 198 dollars including tax. I think I would agree. If the price was between 100-150 I would give four stars instead of 3. There was a nice breakfast included. It is only offered until 9 am so we almost missed it.

« Very Good Value in North Portland »

This is an older property which has been renovated. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was very nice for the price, and everything worked properly. Wi-Fi and a good breakfast included in the price of the room. If you are on a budget, this is a good choice. Just off I-5, easy to find, plenty of parking. Microwave, Mini-Fridge, and a Room Safe, which is above average at this price point. Restauants, shopping mall, and the Columbia River nearby.

« Good location, friendly staff, room & faclities good to very good. Bed needs replacement »

Good location, friendly staff, room & faclities good to very good. Bed needs replacement. We used this as a base for a 3 night stay in Portland and found it convenient to get into the downtown area and attractions. Breakfast was good but didn't have a lot of variety. (still quite acceptable though) Would stay here again but would try for one of the renovated rooms (they apparently are working through the entire hotel but that takes time...)

The hotel is close to the airport and close to Multnomah Falls which is all we had time to do before our flight. We had a little difficulty finding the hotel but once we were there the staff made helpful suggestions on the surrounding area for food and attractions. The hot breakfast is incredible and much appreciated.

« Used to love this hotel. it is convenient though »

I spent many a months living in this hotel on state projects while in PDX. I have written reviews before. Mostly glowing.reviews. not so much now. It appears that the owners have attempted to up date and improve the decor and furniture to make it look more upscale but the reality is they put lipstick on a pig. They painted the walls in a hipster paint color. Changed the furniture to the Scandinavian type furniture which is actually nice. The modern decor chairs are to low to the ground. And very uncomfortable. The new age goofy office chair broke and threw me to the floor... In fairness to the chair it was designed for a anemic 16 year old boy not a full grown man. (ME). We booked a executive king suite .... There was not really anything executive about this room. I call this the 50/50 room.. It is 50 %new age and 50% 60s retro. The microwave was older than Me. The ancient coffee pot on a meal tray was adequate but nothing fancy. The room was very large .. The kitchenette area was huge but sparse and very dated...The carpet in the room was dated and did not match and was very worn and stained. The bathroom was completely updated, painted with new counters, hipster new age sink, and a attempt at some new age paint color.. Not my cup of tea on color.. But it was ok.. Now the toilet... If anyone has read my reviews, they know I hate the low rider toilets.. This toilet was the extended tall toilet!!!!! The saving grace of the visit to this hotel. I would stay here again just because of the toilets. Keeping with the spirit of rooms.. 2 mornings in a row hotel Staff entered the room while we were in the room. I was not happy about it and made sure the management heard about it. There was no "do not disturb" sign in the room. Staff started banging on the door at 10 am. Then the front desk called on day 1 wanting to know if we wanted room service. I am on vacation leave me alone. Clean the room in the afternoon not in the morning. Moving on to other aspects of this hotel. Lobby updated... The new hipster scandahoovien decor? Check in staff was pleasant enough.. WIFI WAS AWESOME. Breakfast, several hot entrees all good. Other breakfast items sparse.. Juices and pastries Would have liked to see more of a selection of pastries and items like that. 3 types of cold cereal. We did not go the hot tub area so we do not have a comment on that. The shining star of the hotel was the Maintenance staff. Young slim man his name was Delone, or Delong he had long dreadlocks. This young man was amazing. Totally customer service driven. He should be training all of this hotel staff the art of customer service. I would stay here again, because it is very convenient. Not because it is a great hotel.

« Enjoyed our stay - great value »

We were in Portland for our Brother's 60th birthday celebration. The Best Western at the Meadows was an excellent value for a very comfortable modern room in comparison to the other choices available. Although it wasn't as close to where we spent our time celebrating, the savings certainly offset the distance (5 miles) Staff was friendly and helpful, the morning breakfast was good, lots of choice for any eating preference. My brother left a leather jacket behind accidentally, and we received a call from them and it was promptly shipped.

« Great value and location in Portland »

We always stay at the Best Western Inn at the Meadows when visiting Portland. Our son attended the University of Portland and this hotel is close to the campus, I-5, shopping and dining. The rooms are always clean and the staff helpful and pleasant. I love that they serve breakfast and that they have a convenient guest laundry.

    « Better Best Western »

Originally stayed at the Marriott waterfront hotel but they were booked the rest of the week. Being that it's fleet week and the Rose Festival almost all the hotels are booked around here. Wasnt psyched about staying at the Best Western but I'm impressed. Although the carpet in the lobby and on the stairs is horribly stained, the rest of our experience has been great. Free breakfast 6-9am, the housekeepers do a great job of cleaning, and the hotel is located near the TriMet transportation system. Not bad at all.

My son and I stayed at this location on an overnight trip to Portland to drop him off at the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The internet worked very well. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It is in a convenient location close to shopping, fast food, and restaurants; all within a short walkIng distance. I would stay here again.

    « Excellent Value »

Location is odd, seems to be in an industrial area. Traffic on the interstates is terrible but it's easy to navigate the surface streets getting to/from hotel. Rooms are a little dark, and upstairs guests can easily be heard. Breakfast is very good, though it's the same every morning. Wifi works well, and most importantly, service is excellent. Nothing to complain about really, it's just not a 5-star hotel.

    « Awful experience »

I booked this hotel through groupon and accidentally used my maiden name for the reservation. After I realized my error I contacted groupon, who advised me to contact Best Western. I called them directly the day I made the reservation and the representative at the front desk assured me she changed my name to my current legal name. A month later after arriving at 1 AM from a long flight I was told that The Best Western would not be able to honor a reservation that I PURCHASED AND COMFIRMED WITH A DIRECT EMPLOYEE OF THE HOTEL. I even had a copy of the groupon with the confirmation number with me. The manager would not even talk to me, he said I could call him back at 9am, as if that helps anything. If they would have let me know a month ago I could have gotten a refund and made additional plans. Needless to say I will not be doing business with best western ever again. If I could give this place negative stars I would for terrible accommodation, communication, and just being plain inadequate. Terrible customer service ????

    « Great for a weekend trip »

Booked this hotel for Memorial Day weekend. This was our first trip to Portland so the location was kind of a shot in the dark, but it turned out great. if you have a car, this is a good location as a starting point because it is close to the freeway and not far from downtown. You can't really walk anywhere. The hotel was very clean and the hot cooked breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel of this class: Scrambled eggs, quesadillas, sausages, and more. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Great Hotel »

Staff was friendly and efficient plus they have a board near check-in with a calendar of local events. Had a mix-up with the room type but it was corrected quickly. The breakfast attendant went out of her way to make sure I received potatoes before they were put in the same steamer as the sausage after overhearing my allergies to sausage. The room was very quiet, large and clean. Hotel is good for couples, families and business people as it is quiet, safe and has its own parking.

    « Pleasant 3 night stay »

As most of the reviews on this property were very positive we decided to buy a Groupon for our 3 day visit to Portland. The double queen room was very spacious and clean. Beds are very comfortable. We had no noise issues as we had a room on the top floor (3rd) and away from stairs/elevators. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Thanks to Jeff at the desk who helped me with some printing. They have a complimentary airport shuttle if you book ahead. One of our shuttle drivers, Moses, was very cheerful and courteous. He is a great ambassador for the hotel. The breakfast room is spacious and bright and the lady who looks after it was also very pleasant each morning. Breakfast itself was ok and the standard fare. We took the Max light rail each day( got the day pass) into the downtown area which takes about 20 min. The Max station is about a 5 min. walk from the hotel. Not the most pleasant area for strolling but safe enough. This may be the only drawback to this hotel is the commute into town for sightseeing. However, for the price it is worth the effort and quite doable, although returning later at night may be an issue. Two minor comments, the conditioner dispenser was empty and the TV channel offerings are minimal. All in all a very pleasant stay.

We stayed one night in Portland as part of a two week road trip. Of all the Best Westerns we stayed this one was just okay. First of all, even with GPS it was difficult and confusing to locate. This was after miles of traffic congestion and getting into an unfamiliar town later than we anticipated. That isn't their fault, but we would never stay there again because of the location. Check in was friendly, fast and the desk clerk was helpful about places to eat. Their breakfast not too great. Not much variety and food just average. And it was 6-9am. Many places are 6-10am, which we think is perfect. However, all the employees were friendly and greeted us warmly.

    « Great place! »

Convenient to get to, great staff, and close to food/shopping and the high way. Bed was a little stiffer than I prefer, but it did the trick. Slept past the included breakfast and was bummed we missed out. Would definitely stay at this Best Western again!

« Good property, be careful with pricing. »

Great property, recently updated rooms which are very nice. We liked the location, easy on/off the interstate. Very few places in this price range and this nice would allow you to be able to walk to downtown anyway. 2 good family restaurants, 1 fast food, 1 grocery store, gas station and some other stores adjoining and within walking distance. Our complaint was with pricing. As a BW rewards member and AAA member, we booked a Fri.-Sat.-Sun. stay a week in advance. Best price was 170/179/143 for these nights. The staff was able to let us check in early (1pm), and later that evening I went to the front desk to inquire about something on Fri. and during my wait a couple had just walked in and inquired about a room for 1 night. The desk clerk to my knowledge didn't ask for discounts and quoted them $143. While this was going on another clerk took a phone call and quoted a room for $169. As the couple was finishing their business a gentleman walked in and asked about a room for the night and was quoted $188. I inquired with BW corporate and they said pricing is up the that hotel. We ended up not staying Sun. and found lodging elsewhere for significantly cheaper. Short story long, check online, and call the property when shopping for a room here.

    « "Modern, Clean & Very Nice" »

We were flying out the next morning for a 2 week vacation, and chose to stay here, since we could leave our car parked here, for the full 2 weeks while on vacation, at no extra charge. It would have cost us the amount of the stay, to park our car at a pay & park. They had a shuttle available to take us to & from the airport. It was a little distance to the airport (approx. 15 minutes), though easier than fighting traffic from living 1 hour away. The hotel was very clean & newly decorated, with a modern style, which was nicer than anticipated. There was a free continental breakfast, with a good variety; everything was very good. We were very pleased & would stay here again.

    « Very clean! »

Very clean! Hairdryer didn't work but got fixed right away. Staff was very friendly and courteous! Wish the hot tub was open later than 9!! I have a bad hip and after a long drive and long day it would have been nice to soak. The only down side was that you could hear all the neighbors and the tv would go from full screen to a tiny screen. Other than that, I would stay again!!

    « Average but spacious »

We actually chose this hotel because Groupon was offering a deal, it isn't walking close to downtown Portland but driving isn't bad. Rooms were big came with a fridge, clean, and comfy. Lots of parking and a free (average) breakfast. Outdoor poor which was a bummer as it rained so we couldn't use it.

    « Surpassed my expectations »

First time to stay in a Best Western Inn. It surpassed my expectations. Modernized design that is very refreshing. The bathroom is clean. Free breakfast was great: scrambled eggs, sausage, choices of cereal, oatmeal and pancakes. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't encounter any problems. Free lift from the airport. Location is 15 mins from Dtown. So happy for the deal we got from Groupon. Front desk is very pleasant and informative.

    « Pleasant visit »

From the time we checked in until we checked out four days later, we had a very enjoyable visit. The staff was very professional and helpful, assisted with giving us directions to Max Station, shopping as well as restaurants in the area. The drivers of the shuttle vans were very courteous and kind. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff kept it clean which was very much appreciated. The breakfast was also great although we missed the waffle maker! We recommend this Best Western.

    « Very reasonable rates »

Booked in for a conference at Expo Center and extended stay for personal time. Front desk was efficient, had a room on 3rd floor. Very quiet and hotel/room was clean. Great continental breakfast, good variety of options. Lots of tables in room so never had to worry about not finding a seat.

« Nice Hotel for a great price! »

Awesome guest service! Room was nice and late checkout wasn't an issue. The hotel was clean, in a good location, and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking for a nice hotel in a good area for a great price.

« Beautiful room and delicious breakfast! »

We were a bit early for check-in but Front Desk was very helpful and offer us a different room on level 2 instead of level 3 which to us doesn't matter. The rooms were recently updated, the bed was super comfy. My only complain was the shower it look outdated and the shower head pressure was too strong. The Breakfast was from 6-9 with alot of options my fav was the potato everything tasted fresh and delicious. Hotel location was very convenient Walmart just down the street Downtown was less than 10min drive. We would stay here again when we visit.

« Decent Location, Average On All Other Fronts »

I stayed here for a night while visiting a customer in Vancouver. The location is in a large commercial center and right off the freeway, making for easy access. The restaurants around it are a bit ho-hum, but fortunately Portland has lots of great eating opportunities if you're willing to drive around a bit. Check in was standard and my room was on the second floor. Unfortunately, the room was right over the front desk area and there is a large opening on the second floor that allows all the sound from the lobby and dining area to come right into the second floor. This made for an early morning when people were checking in late at night and out early in the morning. Strangely, one hotel employee was slowly vacuuming the main entry area at around 7 AM, so anyone hoping to sleep in and also in a room near that opening would be hard-pressed to do so without ear plugs. The room amenities were standard, including a decent cable selection. The room was large and also included what I guess was a kitchenette that they shoehorned into the room along one wall. It was an odd room, but was functional enough for what I needed. The showers had dispensers for shampoo and soap, but one was totally empty. I would think that should be on the checklist for the room staff to check, but I guess not. One other note is that this location does NOT have an exercise room, so don't go looking for it. Also, they cover the pool in such a way that it appears to be closed, but it is just to keep the heat in. The food for breakfast was standard. One thing I didn't expect was that usually you just leave the keys in the room on your check out date and that's all that is needed, but I got an email from Best Western that I had not checked out and had to call the hotel to get that straightened out. I did not have to do this at the BW at which I stayed the next 2 nights, so it seems like a local policy. Overall, I found it a pretty standard hotel, albeit slightly noisy. I'd probably pick somewhere else next time.

    « Convenient, But Average »

Spent a single night as a half way stop on the drive home from S. Oregon Coast. We were two adults and two kids under 6. The hotel is extremely accessible just off the I5 and is right in the middle of a big box store strip mall type Blvd. A lot of food, shopping and other choices within walking or a very short drive. Very very convenient location. We arrived at 4pm on a Friday, front desk had a few people there. We were checked in and were treated a bit rudely. Abrupt and a little too pushy for our liking or what we are used to from customer services. We were sternly warned that we would be charged $400 if were to smoke or bring in a pet into the room. Firstly, who smokes with two little kids in the room (we don't smoke at all) and wouldn't we actually have a pet with us if we're bringing one in??? The room was basic, a newer renovated room. It was nice in style and colour. Fridge, tv, two queen beds, plugs etc. Here is the biggest issue we had, after rudely being told not to smoke in the room, the room actually smelled of cigarette smoke. This really made it easy for us not to return in the future. Rude front desk and a non-smoking room that was obviously smoked in previously regularly. Average hotel, below average front desk, non-smoking rooms smell like smoke.

    « My PDX Weekend »

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location and easy freeway access to go downtown and greater Portland area. Provided breakfast service is a nice bonus and a great value for guests. My only minor complaint is that the shower head lacked pressure.

    4
« Better than most Best Westerns... »

This hotel is situated between PDX airport and downtown - it's a convenient location but it's not in a good setting for going for a morning jog. The hotel itself is definitely one of the nicest Best Westerns I've experienced - it's very clean, updated, and the staff are truly accommodating. I booked this reservation after realizing that most of Portland was sold out or overpriced this time of year. It ended up being a fine answer to not wanting to pay a crazy amount for an average experience. The price was low and the stay provided a clean, no frills, safe and comfortable experience. Perfect for saving a buck and for not compromising on essentials.

« Layover close to airport »

Not to far from the airport. Late check in was no problems. Clerk at front desk was help. Room was clean smelling and air flow was good for a nice night of sleep. Area felt safe with the parking lot well lite. Was hard to find the entry way as in the dark it is half hidden. Hotel seem to be located to help keep the busy traffic noise low. Housekeepers were friendly. Area seemed to have good location for getting something to eat, thou I did not choose to eat at this time due to met other folks in a different area.

« Best Best Western Property Ever »

It is a pleasure to go to a BW property that does not look or feel like every other BW property on the West Coast. From the moment you walk in you realize the owners and management have made every effort to create a "Hotel" ambiance, from the Euro/Asian art decor & furnishings, to the expansive feeling just walking down the halls. A considerable amount of thought has been given to the rooms that are not the usual off yellow or white walled cubicles, the very convenent shades instead of drapes, and especially the lighted full mirror wall in the bathroom that takes an ordinary size bathroom and make it appear large and easy to see what you're doing. The price point for this property for a business trip makes it well worth staying at, even if its slighty farther than you might want to be. Except for any accidents that occur on I-5 that will shut down that highway, or the horrible morning or evening traffic, if you time your trips to the opposite flow you can get anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. And the breakfast is real food that you can tell someone cooked instead of microwaved. Overall...well worth the additional time.

« Great hotel and staff »

We needed a place to stay for a couple of nights while we were having our motor home fixed. This was close to where we lived and convenient to work. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and had what we needed. The bed was comfortable and it was a quiet are.

    4
    « Clean, Up-to-Date, and Helpful »

For a Best Western, this place is really nice. The room was clean, large, and seemed to have been updated fairly recently. The free breakfast was decent (very good pancakes). Those things seldom are. And the front desk was very helpful to me on more than one occasion.

    5
« Great hotel, easy access to I-5 »

Daughter is moving to Portland and this was a great spot to easily access I-5 to get into City. From this spot, we got everywhere we needed to go to see the city. Also, Elmers restaurant, right next door was excellent food for the price.

« Quite and comfortable and very nice.. »

The hotel is currently undergoing its new transition stage and will be fantastic when completed. Right now it's only wonderful and convenient. Located closely is walmart, dicks sporting, thomasville, lowes and many other within walking distance.

    « great experience »

this hotel is one of the best ,, the rooms have all been updated, are spotless, great internet service and tv. The breakfast offers a wide selection and is very tasty. Great access to shops, restaurants and freeway. So clean.

« Nice place to stay if you can get a reservation »

As the title states if you can get a reservation should tell you something. We are working in the area and if we are lucky we can stay here maybe one out of 3 or 4 times we try to get rooms. They are close to the Expo center so booked up most of the time. We will stay 7 nights and almost next to impossible to get that many days. We end up staying next door at Days Inn its OK but Best Western has a lot better breakfast and the rooms are a bit better. As for the staff some of the workers are OK and then some really could care if you are a returning customer and treat you as so. Don't expect overly friendly service from the check in desk as they could care less about whether u come back or not as the motel is always booked.

    « Great place »

We stayed at eh Best Western Inn at the Meadows in Portland, OR for one night enroute to the Oregon Coast. We had a great experience. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Traveled with wife and daughter for a conference held near this hotel. Staying for just one night. The facility was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The sleep quality was the best.

« Good place to atay »

The area looks busy, close to a number of venues. We didn't walk around the area so I can't speak of safety. Other hotels and fast food joints close by. We went back downtown for dinner. Extensive remodel looks to be complete. Huge solar project on the roof, fresh paint and new furnishing. Bed was comfy. Carpets need replaced next. Lumpy and uneven flooring feel "weird" to walk on. You can see the "tilted" floor on the second floor hallway, tilting towards room 230. Staff was fast and friendly. Hot Breakfast nothing special, what I expected. Free newspaper. Clean entrance and lobby area. Pool was covered with a tarp.

    5
« Friendly staff and comfortable rooms »

Easy and quick check in - great staff. The rooms were very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Found hotel b/c we were going to event at the Portland International Raceway (easy walk from hotel). Would stay here again without hesitation.

« Everything good ....but noise »

Business trip to Oregon , hotel employees are nice and friendly , room is clean , bed is comfortable ..... only two cons I wanna highlight ~ 1. Horrible soundproof , I can hear sound from next door , and also upstairs guest walking .... 2. Breakfast not quite good , same type everyday .... But I still recommend this hotel due to good service and clean room !! BTW , there are lot of big shop and restaurant around this hotel , so ......very convenient location .

    5
    « Great stay »

Good staff, good breakfast and comfortable rooms, they have free wifi with good Internet speed. Close to all downtown activities. Went for an event in Vancouver, WA. Very close to this event as well. Able to go everywhere easily. Access to all freeways from this hotel.

    3
    « Just okay »

This hotel is clean and has spacious rooms, with a professional staff. The bed was hard and lighting was inadequate. Breakfast food quality was good, but the room is cramped with tiny tables and was hard to move around! The location fit our needs and was overall an okay experience, but I think next time I would give another hotel a try.

    5
    « Easy »

Easy check in, clean room, quiet location, and friendly staff. The only downfall, which is NOT the hotel's fault, is the food options in the area are lacking. They don't sound very appetizing and Yelp shows low ratings. You will want to go for a drive to get some quality food.

    4
    « My Stay »

« our usual Best Western experience »

Nothing to scream about, but staff was pleasant and friendly. Bit too much maintenance going on. Breakfast was OK for what was offered, one morning very crowded with a class of school kids in it. Overall a good experience, room was clean and quiet.

« Great experience, awesome staff and service! »

Stayed just one night but the overall experience was delightful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were very accomadating and held our luggage while we ran around town after checking in. Great experience.

    « Amazing breakfast »

Best breakfast I've ever seen at a Best Western. Real potatoes not frozen, quesadillas, fresh eggs and sausage, and a pancake maker!! Oh, and the beds were very comfortable too. Good pillows. Bright and clean bathroom with updated features like a large back-lit mirror. Solid all around.

    5
    « Great Hotel »

Hotel was clean, comfortable beds and great location. Bathroom was very spacious. TV worked well, as did AC. There is a great restaurant named Elmers close by for breakfast. We were visiting family, so did not get a chance to check out the hotel much.

    5
« Great value for money and awesome breakfast »

This hotel is perfect for a quick stop over on your way through Portland! The breakfast that is included is fantastic and the nearby Chinese food restaurant is great. Hotel is super clean and updated.

    5
« Great place to stay »

We have stayed here before as it is very close to the Expo grounds for the annual Portland Swap Meet. The hotel shuttle service is very handy to get to Expo. Great staff here who are friendly and courteous. Rooms have been remodeled and the only negative is the lighting in the bathroom is not good. The light around the mirror leaves a lot to be desired when shaving, etc. The breakfast is a cut above most BW's. We will continue to use this BW in the future.

    5
« Nice for an overnight stay »

We stayed here on our way to Arizona and enjoyed it for the cleanliness and quiet. It is close to several different places to eat and the staff was very attentive and courteous. We only stayed one night but would not have minded staying a little longer, if our itinerary would have accommodated it.

    3
    « Average »

Low lighting in room, noise from either side of our room. At one point sounded like child kicking wall. Had to request supplies replenishment. Breakfast was well staffed, staff was courteous, greeted and welcomed customers, and overall exceeded expectations. Brightspot of an otherwise average hotel stay.

    5
    « Awesome! »

What a great hotel. Staff quite friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good. Location is perfect - within walking distance of the MAX Light Rail for going into downtown Portland. Rooms were very clean and presentable. Very relaxing. Will definitely book in the future when I return to Portland.

    4
    « Anniversary trip »

The staff were very accomodating when the first room we were given was still in a renovating state. The bathroom wasn't quite finished. When we asked to be moved to another room, they promptly obliged. This was much appreciated. The rooms are clean, and updated, and the bathroom was very nice when completed in the second room!

« Excellent Stay When Traveling with a Dog »

We reserved a "pet friendly" room on line with Hotels.com. When we arrived at the hotel, only a few minutes off of Interstate 5, our room was ready. There is an extra charge for pets, but we were very pleased with the room. We had a large king bed room with plenty of space for our dog's crate. The room faced away from the freeway so little noise, but it was especially helpful to be located on the first floor near the exist to the closest pet area. The room appeared to be just recently renovated since the decor and facilities looked similar to ones we are using in a remodel at home. Plus there was a fridge, sink and coffee maker in our room. The hotel provided free internet wifi in our room. The room price includes a complimentary hot buffet breakfast. The hotel is a little far from the center but close to a tram stop that takes you downtown.

    2
    « Very Disappointed »

The beds are hard as a rock!! Also, customer service was the worst!! I work at the Best Western where I am from so I know there are loops that can be created to help any paying guest, so when it took three hours of dealing with a very annoying and unfriendly Jeff, I was very frustrated and disappointed. I understand I am only 18 and the rules are 21, as they are at all Best Westerns, but like I said there are ways around certain things, and I was clearly not there to trash the room or party in it. The accountability of me also being an employee at Best Western where I am from should have been enough to work with me a little bit at the least. I was very far away from home and know nobody in Portland so it was very frustrating. He made things very complicated during those three hours of trying to check in. I stayed at one other Best Western and another hotel during my week trip in Oregon and they were very friendly and worked with me without any hesitation or complications.

  • 3
« Very average, nothing exceptional »

While lobby is updated, the rooms are only partially updated. Staff were professional and pleasant. Room was large and bed quality was average. Property is located just off I-5 so it was convenient for my family to get to on our drive back to Vancouver. Morning hot breakfast was fair with very limited selection. Parking is free and unsecured open lot.

    5
    « Good Location »

This newly (and very nicely) renovated hotel is in a good location just off the I5 but far enough that you don't hear the traffic. Quite a few restaurants located within walking distance, or a short drive away. Breakfast was good. Check in was fast and staff very friendly. About a 10 minute drive to downtown.

    4
« Good hotel at a good price. »

We stayed 3 nights at the Best Western Inn at the Meadows. The room was spacious, clean and modern. Wifi was very good. Breakfast was perfectly adequate with a hot selection as well as cold. Fresh fruit also available. Good value hotel and not far from main transport links. If you have a car Portland downtown was about 10-15 mins away and parking downtown was a reasonable price.

    5
« Very Clean Modern Quiet Hotel »

Stayed here after visiting Washington State and on way to Oregon Coast. Right off the I-5 and easy to find. Room was spotlessly clean and mattress was comfy. Countertop in bathroom was really pretty...had little sparkly things in it. Breakfast had lots of choices and was replenished very quickly. Refrigerator was tiny and that's about my only complaint. Shari's next door and a couple other restaurants nearby. Walmart and some sporting good stores close by. We will stay here again..great value for the money.

    2
    « Review your bill »

Be sure to look your bill over closely upon checkout. This place has a history of tagging on unauthorized charges without discussing them with you. There are limited options in the area for hotels so some of our people are forced to stay here.

    5
« Newer, Clean Quiet with Comfy Beds »

We stayed here one night on our way south from Washington State to the Oregon Coast. Hotel is decorated very modernly and is easy to get to from the I-5. Bed was very comfortable and was nice to get a free breakfast for the reasonable rate we paid. Restaurants close by and even a Walmart behind building. Loved the countertop in bathroom. Overall a very nice quiet stay on our trip.

« Poor Customer Service if booked through third party »

We recently booked a night with Best Western through Booking.com but due to a highway closure had to change our travel plans. Best Western was extremely unhelpful and difficult to work with. Both Booking.com and myself spoke to customer service representatives who refused to help us without charging significantly more. In addition, a front desk worker assured me I would get a response by 10:00 am when a manager came in, yet I didn't hear from the property until early evening, which was very inconvenient considering we were trying to rearrange our plans that day. In the future I will keep in mind that customers who do not book directly through them (which would be stupid to do considering the ridicoulous increase in price) will not be treated nearly as well as those that do.

    « Just Average »

From the moment we checked in there was issues. Front desk staff were slow and the hotel was under construction. The strong smell of paint and noise was unacceptable. The rooms were ok looks like they were trying to update with paint but hadn't finished the work. I will not return to this hotel on my next visit

« Great base near the Speedway »

Stayed here on a business trip to Vancouver (but wanted easier access to Portland). It's an easy drive to both Vancouver and downtown Portland (though the traffic can be brutal at rush hour...so be aware of that). Otherwise it's a only 15 min to downtown and the room rate is way better than staying downtown. Very comfy, very clean and plenty quiet. Rooms were great, check in was a breeze and there's lots of free parking. All in all great value

« Preview for longer stay »

Very good value and comfort for price. Good location for World Indoor Track and field Championships later in March. Good amenities and good King bed and pillows. Friendly staff and personnel. Nice modern looking rooms. Morning breakfast was good- choice of waffles, my favourite, was not available

    « great location - average hotel »

It is nice enough and shopping is close if you are going to be staying in the room for awhile. Not what I would consider and outstanding hotel. Grounds were OK but not excellent and room was done well but a few little issues. Overall a good experience with good staff.

    4
« Nice Place, big rooms, good beds »

Clean, recently remodeled with a modern look. Walking distance to several eating establishments and some shopping. Convenience stores within walking distance as well. There are more options a short drive away at Jantzen Beach.

    « Dishonest staff »

The manager, Steve, refused to send a shuttle to pick me up even though I called and reserved it 10 days in advance. They mentioned how I had booked thru Expedia (however, it was actually Hotels.com) and that there was no record I had reserved a pick-up shuttle from Portland airport. I made my reservation more than 10 days in advance, and was calling 7 hours in advance of my arrival to confirm that the hotel shuttle would be at the airport to pick me up. First, I talked to Jeff; after he told me there was no record, I spoke to Steve. After I told Steve I called 10 days in advance to schedule a pick-up, he asked me "Who did you speak to, and at what time and what date." Also, he asked, "Did I have this documented in an email." I said no, I made the reservation over the phone. I guess in the future I'll need to take "name, rank, serial number, date and time" each time I speak to someone at Best Western.

    4
    « Shuttle service »

We told the desk personnel it didn't make sense to offer shuttle service of several miles (to the airport, etc.) and not the four blocks or so to the racetrack. We attend an awards banquet at the track every year, and one of the reasons we stay at Best Western is for the shuttle service there and back from the motel. She just quoted "policy" and "direction."

    3
    « Basic »

Basic hotel accommodations. Nothing fancy but did have a comfortable bed and pillows. They had just cleaned the first floor carpet so the hotel had a smell of dampness and of carpet cleaner. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful during my stay.

    5
« Great proximity, newly renovated - Good Value! »

I stayed at this hotel for one night before heading out of pdx. It was quite close to the airport without having planes flying overhead. Airport transportation was apparently available, although I did not need it. The room itself was modern in décor, newly renovated, and very clean. I did use the small fridge for my dinner leftovers. The outdoor hot tub was enjoyable and a perfect temperature. Breakfast was served in a bright, spacious room. It included sausages, scrambled eggs, pancakes, potatoes, toast, fruit, as well as cereals and yogurt. The food was hot and tasty. I would definitely come back and appreciated the great price I got on the room!

    1
« Avoid if you live within 100 miles »

I paid for my room in advance on Expedia. When I checked in I was advised since I lived within 100 miles I had to come up with an addition $500 deposit. There is no reason why... just because I live within 100 miles. I don't know... Gang activity? Drugs? Prostitution? None of which make me feel great about staying there. Luckily I was able to meet their requirement because I had somewhere to be shortly and no time to locate another hotel.

    3
    « Clean and convenient »

This BW is undergoing some renovations. The hot tub has not been usable for many months, apparently. They are an eco-friendly hotel, which is great but the lighting left something to be desired. The bathroom had a back-lit mirror which looks cool, but not great for applying makeup. You need to use the heat lamp and get in the right spot in the bathroom. My husband found it difficult to shave with the lighting. There is a full length mirror in the hall but the lighting is so bad, you can't get an accurate view. You will hear the trains, no matter what room you are in--may or may not be bothersome. If you get a room at the far end (away from the freeway) you will be awakened by the garbage truck and the dumpster emptying at an un-Godly hour (4 a.m.?) even from the third floor. Freeway noise isn't bad. The convenience to the freeway is great. It took us just 10 minutes or less to pop over to the University of Portland. Breakfast was fine but don't expect any goodies like pastries or strawberries and whipped cream for your waffles. There were no trays to take food to your room (which would have been nice as I had a sick kiddo).

    « Great staff »

I stayed here due to it being so close to everything for work, and I just absolutely pleased with Cindy at the front desk. she is energetic and friendly and truly understands customer service. she made the stay so worth while.

« Great value, very comfortable week stay. »

This was our second or third stay at this property, but we have not been in 5 years. Wow, nice renos!!! The lobby, breakfast room and rooms look great. Our room had a comfortable king size bed, in room safe, microwave, mini fridge and kitchen area. Spacious. Lovely new bathroom, with stylish fixtures. Breakfast is a hot buffet style with eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, cereal, toast, yogurt, various beverages. It is not the most scenic area, but I never felt unsafe. There is some noise from the freeway, but with the widow closed it was fine. Walking distance to the MAX line, for an easy trip downtown or anywhere else on transit.

« Best Western Inn at the Meadows »

Good experience , courteous and helpful staff. Three floor hotel with elevator and easy stair way access. Comfortable bed, small fridge and in room safe. Excellent hotel shuttle service to the Expo Center for the event I was attending. Amenities near by included a Lowes, Walmart Super Center, and a decent full service restaurant next door.

    « Best Western Stay »

The area around the Best Western is not the most scenic, but it was close to our destination and close to the freeway. The hotel is clean and the rooms updated. We had a first floor room facing the parking lot and there was some noise from the freeway and parking lot. The breakfast included eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes and various cereals, fruits, etc. Having breakfast included is a great perk when traveling with a family. Also, Best Western is one of a few hotels that offer queen beds instead of double beds.

« When a shuttle service is not a shuttle service »

I travel extensively for business and as a Gold Crown Member with Best Western....forgive me... But I expected better. Leaving for Boise from Portland early and picked this hotel because they had airport shuttle service. Was rudely told and without remorse "that the shuttle will not be available". How does that happen? Really poor management and not excited about the condition of this property as well. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

« Hard to believe this is a Best Western »

We kept saying that! The lobby is totally modern, the bathroom has the coolest sink, mirror & faucet. Love the tall toilet, too! The beds are so comfy, the paint colors on the wall totally work with the new look. Great desk & chair and speedy internet. They were still finishing up some of the cabinet work but we got the idea. Would return to this property!

    « Excellent hotel! »

We stayed at the Best Western during the local dog show in Portland last month. We had a great room, it was clean, and the breakfast was well done. Thanks especially to Lizzie at the front desk who helped me to navigate to various events and who cheerfully answered every question.

« I enjoyed the peacefulness of my stay. »

Cindy was great. She took time to help me find out if there was any egg in the bread there. My son is deathly allergic to it and it really helped alleviate my worry. Thanks Cindy! There was a big snow storm which doesn't happen often in Portland and the guys were out there with ice melt to help decrease any hazardous ice.

« Hotel is in a rundown area and has no security »

As a woman travelling alone I did not feel safe in this hotel. The side door was propped open with rocks for smokers to go in and out and the desk staff seemed unconcerned when I pointed this out to them. I was walking my dog in the designated dog walk area in the rear and a homeless man on a bicycle drove up looking for cigarette butts and then after picking up a few he went to his camping area in the bush beside the hotel. A man was skateboarding around the parking lot looking into cars. I could hear every word spoken by the people in the rooms beside and above me. I could hardly sleep I was so nervous that my car would be gone when I checked out and was relieved that it was still there, perhaps because I parked under a light. This hotel needs security patrols as it is in a sketchy area of town, something I did not know when I booked it.

« Beware. you get what you pay for »

hotel looks nothing like the pictures. run down and in a bad part of town. Breakfast was ok but it was the same everyday we were there. They tried to charge our group for use of a meeting room after we had already negotiated a price.

    « Best Ever »

This is the most up to date hotel I ever stayed at. I asked the desk if this was a new building because I was so impressed with the overall appearance of the hotel. She said it was completely remodeled.

    « Comfortable, Cost-Effective Near Portland's Expo Center »

While visiting PDX for business, stayed at the Best Western Inn at the Meadows, close to Portland's Expo Center. Very cost-effective, comfortable rooms with fridge and microwave. Very clean and recently refurbished. Only potential drawback was that the walls were paper-thin...could hear conversations next door. Within walking distance of Shari's and Elmer's restaurants even though there's only breakfast served at the hotel.

    5
« Excellent place for to stay for work or leisure »

My room was very clean and had new furnishings making it a very enjoyable place to return after long days of business related meetings and work. The staff was professional and provided excellent customer service. I was traveling by myself but felt very safe at Best Western and would suggest it for traveling professionals, families, or large travel groups.

    4
    « Nice Modern Decor »

Not that I'm necessarily into modern, but I really like the modern look to this facility. It has simple clean comfortable furnishings, a bit on the modern side. It is a nice departure from the older, typical BW aging look. The motel is walking distance to a small amount of food and shopping as well as a convenience store.

    5
« Stopover on our way to Seattle »

Check-in was super fast and easy. Staff was very friendly. We had our dog so we had a room on the first floor close to the door leading outside. Room was newly remodeled and had everything we could ask for, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, heat lamp, comfortable bed, free wifi, and it was big enough to bring in our dog's bed and not trip over it. Neighborhood was great for walking the dog, there is a restaurant right next to the hotel, it has great salads and bacon cheeseburgers, something for both of us.

    4
    « Excellent location »

This hotel has an excellent location for Portland. It is convenient to the airport, convention center, downtown, the Pearl, Vancouver and other points of interest. Easy access to the 5 freeway. Close to fine dining in the Buckman/East Portland area. Restaurants around the hotel aren't great so drive or Uber to great food.

    5
    « Very nice place »

Room looks newly upgraded, staff was wonderful. Very convenient location in that you have all kinds of shopping and dining choices nearby. Only suggestion is they have coffee available in lobby 24x7 -they are in the PNW after all!

    1
« They just lost a Diamond level member »

They have lost all customer service and now they have lost a loyal customer. I booked a night using points because of extenuating circumstances I knew I would not have enough money in my account until after midnight. However when I got to the hotel at 1730 I was refused check in because they couldn't precharge my card for 'incidentals'. Now, I would understand if I had ever used incidentals - ever, however in the years I have been staying there and at other BW properties I have never once charged an 'incidental'. They could have re-run my card after midnight as I suggested, but declined. I have never had an issue so there is no reason at all to suspect that I would run up any kind of bill and dash (and really, what kind of stupid would I be, given they know exactly who I am!) Still refused without any attempt at customer service. Plus, they still charge me my 16000 points and won't refund them because it was after the 24 hour cancellation time!!!!!! They refused me, I didn't cancel. I suspect they simply wanted to sell that room at rack rate and used this as an excuse.

« Very roomy and comfortable »

Quick checkin. Room was too clean- the smell of bleach when we opened the door knocked me over. Had to open the window for 15 minutes and even then the smell lingered. Bleach is bad for the environment, folks. Kills the fish. Dilute it. It's bad for the workers who inhale it too. Better yet, use environmental cleaners. Wifi signal was weak by the bed for an iPad. Had to sit by the front door. We were on 3rd floor halfway down the hallway. Otherwise the room was huge. Bed was really comfy. 4 pillows per bed. Lots of towels. No body lotion or tea but those are supplies we bring on our own. Bathroom was terrific and large. Lots of parking and not far from I-5.

    « Good stopover hotel »

We booked this hotel via Groupon , as a quick stopover hotel on our way south. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated the hot breakfast and ample free parking.

« Comfy Road Trip Room »

My boyfriend and I had a quick and simple checked-in process. We got a accessible room so it was very spacious. The bed was super comfortable. Maybe it was because we have been driving for the past 3 days so we knocked out really fast. Regardless, we did not want to wake up and leave the bed! I really appreciate the fast wi-fi, decent flat-screen TV and abundant amount of channels. The heater worked great! The room was super warm within a few minutes. We woke up to a paper slipped into our room which mentioned "express" checkout so that was really convenient. We were unable to try the free breakfast but it was held in a separate room in the lobby and it looked pretty decent. I would definitely consider staying again if I was hitting the road from California or flying in! Great price! Decent location! Comfy room!

« Great deal in PDX »

Great hotel to stay in and close to downtown PDX. Food options at walking distance. Close to I 5 exit/entrance. Big hot tub and good breakfast. Free parking was great also. I recommend this hotel highly

« Clean, free breakfast, close to transit and Walmart »

Room was clean, and updated, everything worked, bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly, there is ample parking, and a large hot tub. Breakfast is included and a good family value. Location is close to the transit stop for travelling around Portland. Walmart is a short walk away to get snacks or supplies for the room. Half a dozen restaurants within a short walk. Gas station next door. Can't ask for much more.

    4
    « great stay »

This was a good place to stay and the rooms were perfect for my family and clean and well maintained. I would stay here at this location again for it was right place to get to the things our family wanted to do.

    5
    « Very satisfied »

The room was very nice. The breakfast was wonderful and included eggs, fruit, cereal pancakes, etc and right out the door was a great restaurant. We will definitely stay there again on our next to Portland.

« Very pleased with our stay »

My husband and myself were very pleased with our stay. The room and bed were extremely comfortable. The room was clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Location was also very good. Thank you and we will return in the future.

    « Excellent Rooms »

The updated decor and rooms was a huge plus. It almost felt like staying in a Ikea store. The beds were very comfortable for a family of four. Bonus points: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Shuttle Bus to the Airport (Need to request one day earlier of departure).

    5
    « Greatest Comfort »

We have stayed at this hotel multiple nights in the last year and when we travel to Portland, we have not chosen any other hotel. The beds are comfortable. The staff is pleasant. It is always a pleasure.

  • 4
    « Great except »

Don't get a room near the hot tub unless it has been fixed. Pumps were very noisy. Otherwise pleasant stay, easily accessible when travelling, less busy than in the middle of Portland, lots of fog in the morning, but still could find the highway:-)

    4
    « Consistent »

This was our second stay on a Groupon/Amazon Local deal and enjoyed this hotel. We took our pet on both visits and though nothing special on the outside, it was nicely appointed throughout and the room was roomy and generally comfortable, though the temperatures were hard to adjust correctly. The furnishings were new and not outdated. Overall enjoyable.

    4
    « Best Western »

Best Western Inn at the Meadows. Easy and quick access off the I-5. Near local fast food, several restaurants, Walmart, Dick's and not too far away from mall. Sports complex for soccer I believe is nearby. Price was a last minute non refundable deal which was great! Standard hot breakfast which was plentiful. Sausage, eggs. LOVE the Seattle's Best coffee in the room!! One small complaint was the snoring neighbour but overall would stay here again.

    5
    « Happy Customer »

For a quick overnight stay I was quite impressed with the kind staff, size of room, breakfast and accommodation of my (2) dogs. I don't believe the reviews I read before staying here. Luckily I was in the area and Best Western got my business and I am happy I did! Definitely a place to stay if you are looking for a spot to crash!

« Worth Coming Back To »

We have stayed several times here mostly over the Christmas holiday. Every time we stay we feel welcome and at home. The rooms have been recently updated and are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast served every morning has lots of options available and has plenty of seating available. This motel is close to the interstate and train. There are restaurants within and easy walk through the parking lot. For the price, you couldn't find a better place to stay.

    5
    « Refreshing »

With all of the Christmas running around, it was always refreshing to come back to the hotel. From the light smell to the tasteful decor to the cozy feel of the mattress it was all a refreshing experience. And the internet was truely high speed. While staying at most hotels the internet typically will bog down due to the high traffic but I didn't experience that at all. Relaxing.

    5
« We loved this hotel! »

We had a wonderful experience at the Best Western Inn at the Meadows. The people were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable (we slept really well), and breakfast was great. It was a great location to get on and off the freeway for our holiday visits with people in Portland and Vancouver--a great halfway point. I would highly recommend this hotel. We've stayed in several hotels around the Portland/Vancouver area. This will be the one we'll go back to. It was such a positive experience!

    4
    « clean, friendly, convenient »

We always stay at this Best Western when we come to Portland to see our kids. It is close to their home and the hotel is always clean and staff is friendly. They always make it so easy for us to have the grandchildren spend a night with us as well. I would recommend this place to people visiting this area of Portland.

    3
    « Construction! »

Too much construction going on. I would give this hotel a better rating if the construction could have been limited. The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly. The rooms had modern decor and the potential to be better but had problem with the sink. I believe the remodel would make this hotel better in the future but not at the moment.

    1
    « Be careful »

The hotel itself was pretty nice, clean, strong cleanser smell, but still a pretty nice hotel. We checked in late, went to bed, got up not 9 hours later to find our car window had been smashed and the glove box ripped open. Staff was completely non responsive. The guy at the front desk kind of shrugged and slid the police non-emergency number across the counter. Tried to get a hold of the manager to check out early, but wasn't in the girl behind the desk told me she would call the room as a soon as he got back. Two hours later, I call the front desk, and he's been back for almost an hour. Steve the manager, absolutely no help whatsoever, doesn't seem to care at all. If any of the people working had showed even a tiny bit of concern, I would not be this mad. These people don't care, so I'm guessing this kind of things happens all the time. So if you stay here, I hope nothing happens, because if it does, you'll get no help from any of the staff.

« Nice stop along the way »

Good location and great price - quality was good! Staff was welcoming and helpful! The room was excellent with everything we needed and everything worked. The bed was comfy and the sleep quiet. We will be back!

    « Great hotel »

Needed quiet room on third floor. Working night shift. Got it. Restuarants within walking distance. Being that I do retail construction, the nearby Lowes was a bonus for me. I would recommend and use this hotel in the future.

« Very nice Best Western but no pool »

We stayed at this location to attend a family wedding at the University of Portland. We picked this hotel because we are Rewards Card members as well as location. The hotel is nice and suited our needs well. (we have 3 kids under 11) The only downfall this location has that was important to us is an indoor pool. The other amenities were great. The hot breakfast that is included had great variety and was available for over 3 hours. The rooms decor was minimal but seemed to have been recently redone... although the carpet was old.

    5
    « What you expect »

This isn't a wow hotel, but the bathroom is clean and the bed is comfortable, which is what I want for a room. It is close to I-5 without the noise and 15 min to the airport. It is a good location for many different reasons.

    5
    « Nice modern look »

Nicely redone rooms and open spaces. Furnishing are bold and modern but comfortable as well. The area works well for business travel but maybe not for pleasure unless going to the races. There are a couple of shopping centers in walking distance. There are also 4 or 5 restaurants in walking distance. Just off I-5 and Hwy99 for easy access. Staff at motel are great.

    5
    « Excelllant stay!!! »

My wife and I had originally booked at a different hotel and then came across a great deal for this location so we canceled the first hotel after securing the room here and we are glad we did! When we arrived we got checked in fast and then went to Walmart which is right next door and then came back and had some questions about getting to some other places we needed to get to and the staff was very friendly and helpful even printing out some maps to help me get to some locations we needed. The room was large but hotel standards and the beds were just perfect not to hard not to soft!! Room was also very well cleaned even the TV remote was freshened and in a in a little baggy to keep it clean and in good conditions and have never seen this before but was a nice touch. If there was any negatives I would say it was the breakfast. While it wasn't bad it wasn't great either. Wife wasn't impressed with the eggs I just had some cereal as wasn't so interested in the hot items they had served. One good part though is A LOT of tables so was not hard to find a table!!! Definitely though will be back when we visit Portland again for our tax free shopping visits!! Also just a short walk or shuttle ride to the MAX station to take you downtown or to the airport or what have you!! We did eat at Shari's which is just next door to the hotel. It's like a Denny's but is passable and decent food! We did look into the window of a near by Mexican restaurant but the seats looked filthy so we avoided that place and went to Shari's instead!

« Very nice place to stay »

This was my first Best Western stay outside Australia and I must say that it was a very relaxing three day stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and spacious. I would highly recommend a stay at this Best Western.

    « Great Hotel »

Enjoyed our stay. Professional friendly staff, great shuttle service. Good choices for breakfast, Clean, close to restaurants and shopping. Large well maintained room and housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping our room well made up.

    4
    « Great Location »

Hotel is located in a great location with easy access to freeway. Close to a shopping center that offers several good places to eat (Jantzen Beach). Hotel is always spotless and rooms are spacious. Breakfast room is large and always offers a nice selection including hot oatmeal which is nice. One complaint is I have stayed in a number of rooms at this location and the beds are getting very soft.

    4
« Trendy Cool in Portland »

A modern minimalist' perfect choice with a great hot breakfast, updated room, and spacious with eco-friendly shampoo, etc. shower dispenser. Modern demi-vessel sink with large mirror and vanity. Unfortunately the lighting is not sufficient to apply makeup. Contemporary furniture, fresh paint in grey shades, good wifi, nice linens. numerous pillows on a firmer king bed. Hotel is sequestered away from heavy traffic noise and next to numerous dining options. Pleasant staff, spartan appeal, reasonable, will come again.

Drove all the way from Blaine, WA.... After border crossing and a hung over day needed a good nights sleep The bed & pillows were so comfortable and the room very modern & clean plus staff was very nice & friendly Complimentary breakfast was caught just in the nick of time... The usual egg/sausage/toast/coffee/pancakes/ cereal Nothing spectacular but overall it was enough to tie us over! The room space was very nice! Clean & comfy Cheers

« Stay for Christmas Bazaar »

Mom and I love this hotel. We have stayed here for the past 5 years on Thanksgiving weekend. We always get the best service from check-in to check-out. Of particular note was our shuttle ride to and from the Expo center. The first evening we had several large packages that were carried from the building to the van. The gentleman was also very helpful in getting Mom into the van with her walker. (I think his name was Jose). On the second evening he once again assisted with the packages and Mom. This was the first time in many years that this much help was offered without asking. It was also nice to have room door stay open with use of magnet. The guest information book was the BEST I've ever seen!!! By giving addresses of banks, eating establishments, gift shops and other stores, all I had to do was enter into my GPS system and get where I needed to go! This format should be given to any and all Best Western hotels.

    « Weekend December 4th-6th 2015 »

It is obvious it is still in the remodel process. But the rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We appreciated that the MAX station was so close and went right to Moda Center where our event was. We also took advantage of Winter Wonderland being so close. it was a beautifully done Christmas light exhibit. Enjoyed our stay

    « Weekend of Dec 5-7 2015 »

Room is obviously a new remodel, but only 90% finished. Very week water pressure in sink. Monday morning breakfast was very skimpy when we came down at 7:30am. Eggs and tamales were out. Oatmeak was lukewarm. Coffee was very good. Could use a better fruit selection -- only bananas and cut up oranges.

« We always stay here when we're in Portland. »

We always stay here when we're in Portland. The rooms are a nice size with a lot of counter space in the bathroom. The bed and pillows are super comfy. It is close to quite a few store and easy driving distance to others. At night it isn't the best area with some homeless walking around which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. We don't go out after dark so that isn't a problem for us.

    4
    « Hotel was clean. »

The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. No pool was a bummer for the whole family and it was a little bit of a drive to downtown. The hot tub was outside so we didn't have the cold to check out out. Bathroom was clean, but the shower head did not work well. Continental breakfast was not very good. Staff was friendly.

    5
« Pleasant stay, great location »

This was my family's first stop in a long trip and this hotel was a great place to stop. The staff were all friendly, the room and hotel clean, and the room was very comfortable! Breakfast was simple, but still good- the staff was pretty busy that morning, and in good spirits even though it was Thanksgiving morning. It was also very conveniently located nearly right off I5, but we didn't hear any of the highway traffic in our room.

    4
    « Good value »

Easy check-in and check-out. The room was quiet, clean and had a comfortable bed. The location was farther than we anticipated from the airport, but I would still recommend it, and come here again myself.

    5
    « Best Western Meadows »

I find the hotels and amenities well worth the value. It's location on Proximity to the Maxx Rail Line is convenient and easy. It is conveniently located just off I-5 and close the Expo center and not far from the Airport.

    « Pleasant Get Away »

So pleased I was able to get a last minute reservation! Needed a quiet overnight get away. Staff very friendly, room super clean and quiet. Morning breakfast was just average, but fresh and good variety

    « Wonderful stay »

This hotel was newly remodeled and very clean and quite. The bathrooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The front desk help was very cheerful and willing to answer any questions, especially Jose. They kept the Jacuzzi open past closing time just for us. They offer free breakfast, which wasn't just cereal and toast. It was a full on spread with potatoes, sausage and the best scrambled eggs! Walking distance to a restaurant, burger king, mini mart and gas station. We just can't wait to come back.

    « guests in town »

The hotel was fine. It is in the process of being updated and so there are remodel supplies in the hallways and in the lobby. I feel like they should offer a construction discount and alert. Breakfast was fine and staff were helpful.

    2
« Nice Room, Heavy Deodorizer Smell »

We were going to spend two nights here, but the room and the hallways reeked of heavy deodorant smell. We spotted a deodorizer machine near the vending machine in the hall, wanted to unplug it but didn't. The scent was so heavy it caused both my infant son and myself to suffer asthma attacks. Good thing we have nebulizers! The following morning the hall smelled better. Noticed that someone had, in fact, unplugged that nasty little machine. We checked out and got a different hotel for the second night. Will not stay here again. There is no excuse to use such heavy deodorizers in the rooms or hallways. If there are that many smells to cover up, its time for new carpeting or wall cleaning.

    4
    « Good pitstop »

Nice, clean and a friendly staff. Close to the airport and town. Breakfast was included, but ordinary. Close too Wallmart, shops and restaurants. Free parking and Wi-fi. Good for money. Will come back if I am visiting Portland again.

    « worst stay I ever had »

I was stuck in a wing under construction with noise, tools , workmen , and materials in the way. Room was very dark with the walls painted BLACK. Hotel staff made me feel like an idiot. Do not use this hotel.

    5
« Stay at Best Western »

Had excellent stay at Best Western. For the money, it was the cleanest, most comfortable stay with any motel in the past and will most likely be the only motel we stay with in the future. The location was conveniently located with easy access and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

    4
« We were in transit to California »

The hotel is in the completion stage of a major upgrade. The upgrades are excellent and certainly move the hotel up a notch. It is convient for access off and on the I 5. There are several restaurants close by, one across the parking lot. The staff are excellent and the complete breakfast is served in a large and bright room

    4
    « One Night Stay »

We attended an event in downtown Portland and decided to choose this site due to closeness to I-5 and our drive back home to Olympia. The room was very spacious, very up to date decor, quiet overnight and good breakfast choices!

    « disatisfied »

Area around hotel was a bit noisy with homeless hanging around. Did not feel as safe as at other Best Westerns. There were some family style restaurants within walking distance but drove because of the homeless in the area. The bed was a bit hard for my taste and the carpet is old. Some remodeling was going on , with the bathroom up dated, new paint, counter top, sink and mirror. I was surprised at check out with a larger amount charged for the fourth night. I stay at many Best Westerns and have never been charged more than any other night. They said it was the start of the week end, Thursday? My week end never started that early. I doubt if I will stay there again, there are other options.

    5
    « Fantastic! »

I absolutely loved it here! Its only 20 min away from the airport, they have free breakfast, yeah its not luxurious but they have a great selection! They have free airport to hotel transportation (must be booked 24 hrs in advance!) and they have a great pie place in walking distance! This hotel is also pretty close to downtown, an uber there would only be about $15 which is pretty good compared to taxis, I'd definitely stay here again! Very clean hotel with friendly staff! Wifi was okay but still a great hotel

    « A Cut Above »

This was our second time at this relatively new BW property located in an industrial park. We like the convenient location just off I-5 and find the new decor to be pleasing and comfortable. The front desk staff made a good impression and the breakfast staff were attentive and cheerful. Very good value and "a cut above"!

    5
    « Excellent stay »

TV was great, a ton of channels, it is easy to get to, good room cleaning, overall a good value at the price. The breakfast had eggs and sausage, fruit and yogurt. It was pretty good. Bed was comfortable, and room smelled nice.

« Wedding Bliss in the rains of Portlandia »

Our family booked a short 4 night stay at BW Inn at the Meadows. One of our top priorities as to which BW we pick, is whether or not they have a hot breakfast with some form of protein! This BW did not disappoint. Their breakfast was complete with everything you could find at Denny's (scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, pancakes, cereals, and coffee), and that is a compliment as Denny's has really stepped up their game. This BW is located about 5 minutes out of Portand proper and is a 2 minute walks from a Dick's Sports and even better Fisherman's Sport and Marine. If you're a hunter gatherer, these 2 stores should have it all. Although we're not fans of WalMart, there's one within quick walking distance for anything else you might have forgotten. Our only gripe was the lack of a mini gym. However, we did spend every day walking around downtown Portland for hours on end... We didn't like how poorly lit the rooms were, but this seems to be a common problem in most hotels. They just don't put in enough lighting. We found they were still in the process of updating rooms as there were cardboard boxes of what looked like large wall mirrors custom fit to install above the large "kitchen" counter. Once these are installed, the rooms will feel larger and probably a bit brighter. OVERALL, if/when we return, we'll likely stay here again!

« Clean, quiet, convenient location »

I requested for a quiet room on a higher floor and that is exactly what I got. Decent breakfast, really good coffee. Staff was friendly and helpful. University of Portland lists this hotel as one of the recommended places for prospective students and families to stay. I would come back.

I stayed here on a pleasure trip and booked a reservation ahead of time. The rooms were spacious and clean. Good breakfast. Nice staff. I would definitely stay here again. Very accommodating. Quiet and comfortable for our short stay.

« Reasonable place to stay while visiting Portland »

Clean, close to transit, comfortable, close to shopping, decent breakfast (scrambled eggs and sausage, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, cereals, juice, toast, english muffins, pancakes), and with a groupon, the price was right.

« Large, clean, good breakfast »

We booked online and had a downstairs room. Our room was very large and freshly remodeled with new paint, shades, fixtures. The doors and showers had been cleaned up but they were clean and in good repair. The lament floors were a nice touch. We had a large two queen room with lots of space. The beds each had 4 pillows and were very comfortable. The large Samsung HD tv was nice and the room was plain but clean and fresh. The bathroom was large with great water pressure and we really liked the mirror light. It was classy. Our only complaint was that the upstairs tv was fairly loud and it woke me up a couple times at 2am and 345am. Breakfast was very good. Three people kept busy stocking and bringing options (eggs, pancakes, sausage, cheese quesadillas, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, and more). It was hot and tasty. Hardest part was finding entrance in the dark. The flag lot can be tricky to find on a dark rainy night.

    « Nice »

Called late the day we needed a room. We got the last 2 rooms available. Nicely updated. Found a long dark hair on the sheet in my bed which freaked me out. Looked and smelled clean so I assumed it was the housekeepers. They should be REQUIRED to have hair up so crap like this doesn't happen. Bed was too firm for me. Enjoyed the breakfast and the location tho.

    « "Like New" »

The hotel is currently under renovation. Renovation did not affect the quality of service and comfort. My room is newly updated and it felt "like new". Breakfast was not fantastic but adequate. Will not hesitate to use this hotel in the future.

This is a nice hotel. Comfortable beds and furnishings and a nice continental breakfast. Great place to stay during our annual event at the expo. Greatly appreciate the discount for our non profit organization!

    « Great 5 night stay. »

I stayed for 5 nights with my 13 year old daughter. Felt safe in the room and hotel alone with her. its close to the train so you could hear it but it wasnt a bother. Clean rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast. Just wish they had an indoor pool as we went in late October/early Nov.

    « A Tale of 2 Nights »

Checking in I was dubious. The jr. front desk clerk asked the sr. clerk if we could be given an "Upgraded" room. He said no and soon we soon learned the inferior nature of the original room. It is room #225 above the lobby facing the parking lot. Noise from outdoor exhaust fans combined with a nasty odour from the heater led to a poor sleep. For our next night, staff kindly moved us across the hall to the quiet side, ironically facing the highway. What a positive difference. Because of this, and the hotel's commitment to saving the planet with their clever use of solar energy, we rate the hotel: very good.

« Best Western at the Meadows, Portland Oregon »

The rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was great but they needed to anticipate the number of people eating early--they kept running out of food so people had to wait. Most of the people were going to the same large convention. The food was perfect and there was a nice wide selection to choose from. Currently doing some remodeling but we never heard the construction.

« Our first visit to Portland »

The hotel room was large and quiet the hotel location is close to the train link to Portland center which we used on three occasions and there were places to eat nearby as well the hotel staff were excellent and friendly, this was our first trip to the USA and had a great time in Oregon would love to come back

« Great place to stay »

I have stayed at this Best Western several times in the last few years. They are close to the TriMet and have several dinner options close to the hotel if you don't feel like adventuring too far. There's also a Walmart within walking distance for any items you may have forgotten to bring on your trip. The staff is friendly and courteous. They are currently redoing some rooms so there are boxes against the walls in the halls. I would recommend this hotel, however shop around on different websites. I found the price varied from site to site.

    « Portlan »

Our stay was adequately pleasant. Within easy distance of the city. Not as nice as others on our trip but it appeared to be they were renovating. The breakfast room lighting was very bright, like a gym..... Not comfortable for me.

    « Nice BW »

We're frequent BW members, and stayed here one night during our trip to Portland. The lobby is nicely renovated and very clean. The staff very friendly. Rooms kept with the modern theme of the lobby, but not quite as nice as the hotel's photos. Still, they were a step above most BW in style, and very clean. Bed was average comfort. Location is just fine but nothing glamorous. As our first time visiting OR, we found it easy to navigate from and easy hwy access. Also 2 dining options on walking distance.

    « Friendly employees »

Nice check in and check out process, clean room, comfortable bed. Breakfast included cut up oranges, good for me and other vegetarians. Fun to have Halloween candy, and all employees very friendly. Easy to get on I/5 and close to north Portland neighborhood shopping.

    « Good experience »

I am very happy with my stay there. Pros: very friendly staff, airport shuttle, wifi, complimentary (continental) breakfast, close to MAX train Cons: renovations in the process It might be a bit hard to find for those who drive, but we arranged a shuttle and had no problem. Thank you to the staff for being so friendly and willing to go out of their way to help. The room was nice and clean and actually newly renovated. The hotel is 3 minute-walk away from the MAX train that will take you downtown for $2.50 or so (day pass is $5). Recommend!

    2
    « Renovation in Process »

I would not at this time recommend this particular location due to the current state of renovation and the manner in which it is being accomplished and managed the hotel management/ ownership - especially for the prices being charged per night

« Pleasant stay at the Meadows! »

My boyfriend and I recently stayed 3 nights at this hotel last weekend. We've been to Portland several times to visit our friends and we like to try various hotels to experience while there. This time my boyfriend wanted to try the Inn at the Meadows and it turned out to be a pleasant experience. I must admit that when we drove to the hotel we were a little hesitant upon seeing the building's exterior. The landscaping was not that great, but once we entered our feelings quickly abated. The interior is modern and the staff were welcoming and pleasant. The location is fairly close to the airport and only about 7 miles away from downtown Portland. What I enjoyed about this hotel was the modern furnishings and easy access to our room. It appears that they are renovating because there were several boxes in the hallways, but it was a minor eyesore. Our room was on the second floor and the ice machine was literally a few steps away, which made it very easy and convenient. Portland was our last stop on our Southwest vacation and it was only the second hotel (of the 6 we stayed at) that had a safe. I'm not sure if hotels are phasing this option out, but having a safe in the room is really important to me. Unfortunately I was not in need of it since we were at the tail end of our vacation, but it's good to know that they have it as an option. The flat screen TV was nice and has Direct TV. Our room also had two small refrigerators ... I've never had this option at a BW hotel before so that was nice. The price was fair and I'd recommend this hotel for anyone who is visiting the beautiful city of Roses!

    « Great Hotel »

We came to Portland to go to the Christmas Cash and Carry Show at the Convention Center. The Best Western Inn at the Meadows was very close to all the things we wanted to do and they made our stay wonderful. the hotel staff was very friendly and professional and the hotel was very clean and our room was great.

    « Modern place »

NIce hotel with a modern flair, the hotel itself is old but they are in the process of updating it, our room had new furniture and a new paint job. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that the free breakfast was only served between 6AM-9AM, ending too early for my taste.

« My overall stay at this hotel, and first-time visit to Portland, Ore has been very nice. »

After spending some time looking for a hotel stay, I am most fortunate to have chosen this gem. The courteous and professional staff, room cleanliness, great amenities, nearby MAX Rail System, location (WalMart, sporting store, resturant (Elmer's), gas station, park), and most of all, it is at a very quiet locale. Now, I will know where to come back the next time I'm in Portland - a very beautiful city during the fall season. A definite recommendation to those looking for a place to stay. Great job well done, and thank you.

shuttle service was not very good need more thought for the customer. Needs better set up as for the time of check out and when the customer departure time so the customer would have a place to stay at since they may have never been there before

« Nice, comfortable and friendly »

Very nice and helpful staff, rooms are very good. Convenient to Expo Center. You have Walmart and other stores very close ( almost walking ) so you can buy water, fruit, etc... It is not a luxury hotel, but if your in a business trip, it is perfect.

« Decent Hotel, Poor Location »

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and felt the hotel was adequate. The rooms are clean, bed was moderately comfortable, staff was friendly, breakfast was pretty good, and price was reasonable. However, we were displeased with the location. The hotel is near the MAX line, but the walk to and from the station was a little worrisome with fast traffic, limited lighting and sidewalk space, and several questionable characters walking around. Also, the dining options nearby were very limited so unless you want to drive or brave the walk to the Max and ride to another part of town, you do not have many choices. And, if you drive, prepare to sit on I5 for a while with everyone else.

    « Above Expectations! »

Lovely remodeled rooms with a modern feel. Very clean with updated furniture and fixtures. Lobby was modern, and staff was friendly and accommodating. Looks like they are still remodeling as boxed frames lined our hallway. Great hot, complimentary breakfast offered, with scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, pancakes, cereals, coffee, tea, juices, and more. Parking lot was spacious and free. Location is easy ten to fifteen minute ride to downtown. Did not check out pool or places around it. Great value, and would stay there again.

Excellent staff! Everybody was extremely friendly and helpful from the front desk to the housekeepers to the breakfast staff to the van drivers! Great breakfasts with many choices. Appears that they are working on remodelling the rooms, fresh paint and furniture. Have NO complaints, would definitely stay there again!

Pleasantly surprised by the lobby for this chain of hotels. They also offer airport pickup and delivery to the Max. Almost didn't need to rent a car. Slept very well. They could change up breakfast choices but at least it was included.

« Excellent place to stay »

This is one of the nicer hotels my family and I stayed in. Friendly staff, very clean rooms, comfortable beds, most of all there was truck parking for my husbands car carrier and a nice place to eat right across the parking lot. If you are looking for a good night's rest stay here.

The redone rooms are perfect, great decoration, quite rest on fine new beds And best of all the staff at all levels were helpful and attentive. We have stayed here two different times. The bed is very comfortable and the breakfast is better than average (no hockey puck eggs!). Also, many shops and restaurants right next door. It is right off of I5.

    « Very High Standard »

In our two week road travel from Vancouver BC to San Fransisco and return, this was the best experience we had in any of the numerous hotels we stayed in.Everything was "A PLUS" from reception, to room cleanliness, comfort, amenities, and breakfast. They were at capacity, but the staff was very professional in the way they handled all guests, and made you feel that you were the most important person in their life at that moment. It is in close proximity to a transit stop where there is free parking, and we used this method to tour the city over a two day period. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and I already have.

« Clean, quiet and cheap place to stay »

This hotel was perfect for what I was looking for - a reasonably priced, clean, quiet hotel. The room was large with two queen beds, the free breakfast was ok and the staff all very friendly. tt only took about 10 minutes to drive downtown. Would definitely stay here again.

« Poorly managed, staff of no help. »

No help offered in use of transit or getting around to local sights. Room and breakfast OK. After staying for 4 days, we awoke to find our car being towed. The hotel was repaving the parking lot and failed to notify its guests. When we ran out to stop the tow, the tow driver said, "move your f---ing car." We reported this to the manager who just made excuses. They were able to print out my bill and place it under my door, but not able to notify me to move my car. No mention of repaving was made to us upon check-in. Very poorly managed.

    « Wonderful Stay »

I enjoyed my stay at Best Western. It was clean, people were helpful and it was close to everything I needed to do in Portland. My view outside the window was a gorgeous tree that was changing to it's fall colors. There were restaurants close by. I was impressed with Best Western. I have decided to only choose Best Western after this stay.

    « Beware of this hotel ! »

I paid in full for 3 nights- arrived the second night to be told that they had cancelled my reservation and kept my money!! Portland hotels were booked full so they double sold the room and made out like a bandit while I slept in my car :( Had to go back to the booking service to get any help, and the manager was a royal jerk.I have stayed here many times and they could care less- no customer loyalty at all. Go somewhere else!

    « Poor Value »

We chose this hotel because it offered shuttle service from the airport and to the Union station the following morning. We were entirely satisfied with that service...friendly, good drivers...and on time. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They offered a decent breakfast, but no teas other than an off brand and no half and half, only fake coffee creamer. And, they did not offer any complimentary premium TV stations. The room was nice, but not special for the money we paid. The other Best Western Pony Soldier Airport Inn was at least as nice and less than half the price.

    « oct 2015 »

the room was very nice ,hotel was under construction,, boxes in hallway,, pool area also used as storage ,,but that was ok ,,pool was small enough to be a bath tub or a hot tub size without jets the only thing I didn't like was you had a make a reservation 24 hours in advance for a shuttle ring to the airport ,,when 2 vans were parked out the front door all day and night... I was told the train was a block away ,,,in English 1/2 mile walk on main rd,,,also they did give shuttle service to that. thanks to uber I wont need to ask them for help for a ride

Top floor room right next to the ice machine and vending. Surprisingly I heard no noise from the machines in the hall during my 3 days there. I'm happy with the quality and luxury of the rooms and building. The refrigerator and microwave are handy.

« Expect more from Best Western »

This hotel is in a good location, a little outside of the main city and with good facilities and shops around it, but the condition is not great. Our room was comfortable, but the decor was horrible and the air con was very noisy. The vending machines were broken on the 2 out of the 3 floors, so I spent 20 minutes just trying to get a drink from somewhere! The staff were helpful but I would recommend maybe looking somewhere else for a stay in Portland.
