« Our second visit to this hotel »

We made advanced reservations but were given a room facing the railroad tracks. Train noise through the night kept me awake. Our first visit we had a room on the opposite end of the hotel and did not hear the trains. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable and I do appreciate the refrigerator and microwave. The only convenient restaurants are McDonald's and Taco Bell.

    « Impressive »

Clean rooms & excellent service. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is about $10 and they make your eggs any way you like. No powdered eggs here! They have a nightly wine tasting and there are many restaurants nearby. Price was just right. We will definitely be there again.

« Good place especially for a railfan »

I stayed here for two nights while on a railfanning holiday and for this it was ideal, with most of the iconic spots on the line over Cajon Pass a short drive away and some even within walking distance. The helpful receptionist changed my room to one with a rail view and I was able to sit on the balcony outside my room and watch the spectacular mountain view with trains passing a few hundred yards away. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast reasonable. Although there was road construction going on nearby it did not affect me. There was only fast food in the immediate vicinity, but I was able to find some good places to eat a few minutes' drive up the Interstate, although I believe that one of these was burnt down in the recent forest fire.

    « Highly Recommend! »

I could not recommend this Best Western more. The staff are incredible, friendly, and flexible. The breakfast was tasty and filling. The rooms were large, clean, quiet, comfy, and came at an excellent value. And the views were breathtaking. We broke down near this hotel, so we didn't end up staying here by choice. However, we are so happy that we did. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of during our stressful situation. We regret not having bathing suits to take a dip in the pool or the hot tub at night. If you are in the area, you should definitely stay here!

    « Best Stay Ever! »

Excellent service, food and room cleanliness. Our host "Rick" was very helpful when I booked the wrong date - He called Expedia and fixed it up in just a few minutes - The pool was clean, jacuzzi was hot and views were great!

    « One night stay. »

Great place. Nice view of the mountains with the train tracks. Friendly staff. Breakfast was so so, but then again I woke up late so I got scraps. Overall it was worth the one night stay. Easy check in and our process. If I were passing by again and needed to rest for the night, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

    « Don't listen to the negetives »

I stay at this hotel everytime I am passing through to Long Beach or L.A. and never have had a problem. Yes they had construction on the ramp but that has nothing to do with the hotel. Complain to the state. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff are always willing to help with what they can. I travel about 300 days a year and expect a nice hotel and I think this place offers everything you would want.

« Good hotel with bad staff »

I have stayed here many times and been very satisfied. This recent time the staff was extremely slow and not service minded. Check in took 30 minutes and one of the 3 rooms was not as agreed when we booked 4 months ago. Keys did not work at return the second night.

    2
    « Not a good choice »

Stayed here for one night. We had to go around 20 minutes because the exit ramp to the hotel from the expressway was closed. Try not to book here or call the hotel and ask if the road it's still on construction. Major construction on the highway is still underway, so yeah, you'll have noises during the day and night. The breakfast was skimpy, few choices, eggs and beef patties were gone an hour before breakfast was supposed to end and no one refilled, so we skipped breakfast. Also they have like 4-5 tables at their breakfast area, and noticed 2 other tables by the pool...seriously Best Western??? If the hotel would have been packed you wouldn't have had a table. If it's raining or cold outside, I'm supposed to go eat by the pool??? That's not an option. Also the pool was dirty, it had dirt and somekind of palm leaves on the bottom. Hotel room was clean, bathrooms are super small, one of our towells had a major yellow stain, so I just threw it on the floor...Shower system is so old...it took me 5 mins to figure out how it works...There's also a train track passing close by, so it's rather noisy. Disappointed in this Best Western. Would rather pay $20 more and stay at La Quinta.

« Clean and Friendly, but... »

...overall average stay. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful, but this motel is pretty dated as far as lighting/electrical outlet access, etc. It's close to the freeway, so if you are on the highway side of the building, noise can be an issue (especially if road construction - which started very early - is going on). Seems to be very popular with PCT through-hikers, and they do have a washer/dryer and sell soap at the front desk. Overall, I'd stay again... just don't expect too much.

« Great manager, amazing breakfast! »

Spent one night here and was super impressed! The owner/manager went out of his way to find us a very quiet upstairs room. He was very kind and patient, we were very tired after a long day and flight. Breakfast was amazing and included all kinds of options and eggs and sausage. Great value, clean and quiet...ask for an upstairs back room.

« Great for convenience and comfort »

This hotel is perfect for convenience. It is right off Interstate 15 in the mountains where one does not have to deal with the city traffic and congestion. Perfect location to take a break from a long road trip.

« work on the breakfast »

Make sure you have more than enough food for your guests. every time I went in there it seemed to be empty. It is a very small area and there are a lot of guests, so it made it very uncomfortable. The chairs and tables are all jammed in and there is no room to move around. The staff on the other hand were great. I am terrible at names but we stayed long enough to see most of the staff.

« Great price, as well as service and a clean room »

Stay here approximately once a month on business. Price has always been great, especially taking into consideration the cleanliness of the rooms and the staff's service. Construction on nearby highway leaves a little to be desired in the way of peace and quiet, but I'm usually so tired when I arrive I don't even notice it. Beds are quite comfy and rooms quite modern as well. Recommend if you need a good bed at a reasonable price.

    3
« Nice motel under the circumstances »

This motel would've gotten a higher rating if it wasn't for all of the construction going on in the area. Otherwise the rooms were comfortable, with better than average service. For the price I would recommend this motel.

    « Very nice Stay »

The hotel is very clean with comfortable beds and terrific WIFI. The breakfast was plentiful with many choices. There were waffles, eggs, sausage, all kinds of breads and beverages. The staff were all pleasant. I spoke with the desk agent, a room attendant and a maintenance worker who were very friendly. Best of all, the rate was great!

« Best Hotel to Stay at »

Always a great stay! Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Laundry amenities. Continental breakfast has many good choices. There is a hot tub to use. Always have great service, and friendly workers. Great stay every time I stay.

    « A great experience »

There was NOTHING wrong at this property during this stay. Staff, room breakfast, access, weather, were ALL top notch. Usually there is always something. Not here. We even thank the desk clerk upon checkout and told her how wonderful it was.

« Lots of Traffic but a good Stay »

I was on a solo trip watching trains and travelling on Route 66 and thought that this would be a good place to enjoy both. I requested a room facing the tracks and, although there is some train noise, it is far preferable to the constant freeway noise. Check in was easy but the front desk staff wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy. Maybe I was spoiled as the staff at the Best Western Colorado River Inn was over the top with hospitality. The room was huge! don't know why the room is so big but it was a comfortable place to hang out. It had a king sized bed, 3 comfortable arm chairs, desk, 2 desk chairs, flat screen tv and tons of channels to watch. I enjoyed the view of the railroad tracks. The room also has a walk-in closet, believe it or not, which houses a fridge, micowave and plenty of hangers for your clothes. The breakfast was the usual continental fare but good enough to start the day. Getting to and from this hotel is not easy due to the road construction on Highway 138 and the very busy traffic on this 2 lane road. Hopefully, once the construction is done, the traffic and access will ease a bit. I would certainly stay here again and happily recommend the Best Western Cajon Pass for its central location and clean rooms.

    « Middle of everywhere! »

We needed a place to stay when we go to the mountains for some snow play with our toddler. Wrightwood offers few spots for free snow play and tubing, while Arrowhead has a small playground with swings etc and Big Bear has a beautiful park right at front of its lake for free snow play. I could not trust the condition of any log huts advertised in Wrightwood and Arrowhead/Big Bear hotels get expensive as ever when it snows. This place is a budget stay right in the middle of all these places. Rooms were clean and breakfast was generous. The walls were thin for effective noise proofing, but that did not bother us much. ? 1 Star for location, including gas station next door and couple of burger joints. ? 1 Star for price when compared to nearby accomodations. ? 1 Star for some great people I met manning the front desk. ? Star for ease of parking, cleanliness of rooms and bathroom. ? Minus .5 Star --- I am taking away .5 star for the staff either not knowing popular places around for activities or just don't want to suggest anything. Usually the front desk is the best place to get quick tips and suggestions about surrounding areas but that was not the case here unfortunately, just relied on Google and Yelp. ? Minus .5 Star --- Another minus .5 star for the first guy at the front desk (rest of them over two days were nice). It made me feel very unwelcomed when talking to him, the next day when he was helping serve breakfast, his replies to the guests were very blunt. I prayed not to deal with him while extending my stay or while I am there. I believe, this gentleman was senior or part of upper management. If that is true then I suppose he should be much polite than lower tier. I hope this attitude does not trickle down to their lower tier staff (who during my experience provided excellent service, reason for my +1 star) when they observe such examples.

« Nice stay passing through the area on the way to San Diego from Vegas! »

Stayed here because I left Las Vegas late and was headed to San Diego. Hotel was fine as well as the staff. Rooms were up to date for Best Western standards. Rooms was clean except for one small thing the tub looked partially clean like the housekeeper forgot to clean one side. Everything else was clean. Exterior corridors with a pool outdoors. Free breakfast offering the famous waffle maker and a few other hot items. Grounds kept up fine. Free wifi as well and fridge and microwave in room. Would stay again if needed traveling through the area. Be aware there are no restaurants just a Del Taco adjacent and a Mc Donald's on the other side of the highway which I had already eaten. Also there is major road construction going on at the exit ramp to the hotel. It was not a problem but I had to go up a couple of miles to the next exit and turn around and come back and exit on the other side of the freeway. This is a certified eco friendly hotel.

« On way to Oceanside »

Stopped here overnight on way to Oceanside, CA. Room was ok. Somewhat noisy with people outside making some noise which woke me up. Complimentary breakfast buffet was full service...including scrambled eggs and sausage. Given the price, the room and breakfast was a pretty good deal.

« Older hotel but very good overall »

This hotel is just off the highway which makes it easy to find and convenient. Road work is currently underway but that is temporary. We booked online for a rate that was clearly a mistake because the rate was very low. When we arrived, the rate was honored without question and the woman at check-in was friendly. The room was small but everything was in working order. Bed was comfortable. Overall, everything appeared clean but there was food left in the refrigerator from the last guest. Television was mounted on the wall, which was a plus. It left more space on top of the dresser for bags, etc. No restaurants near the hotel. The hotel is behind a gas station that has a Del Taco inside. We just walked over to the Del Taco to get a quick supper. Not the newest or fanciest hotel but comfortable and convenient for a quick stop.

    4
    « Snow Access »

All in all it was a fine stay, with everything you would expect from a Great Western. The only problem was the noise from upstairs (kids running and very loud plumbing late at night) that interfered with our sleep. The location is great for access to Wrightwood and I suppose you need to brace yourself for seasonal day-trippers, especially if you happen to be one (as we were).

    3
    « OK stay »

The price and the breakfast were good. The overall quality of stay was OK. The only issue we had is that after we went out for a day and came back to hotel at 5pm, we found that our room was not cleaned and the towers were not changed yet.

    « not very good »

Well, I went on a trip to Mt High ski resort and when we got back to the resort at around 645 at night, all of our clothe and computer s and computer chargers were packed away into our bags. they did not make our beds during the day and it was a very uncomfortable bed. not good experience

« The best Best Western yet. »

As I said above, this is the best Best Western I have stayed at yet. I travel for business and am at a hotel every night. If you are looking for a clean hotel with attentive staff on your way to Vegas, this is the place. California is doing construction around it right now but I didn't hear anything all night. They have the most channels to watch of any hotel I have been to today. Thanks for a great stay.

    « Caring, responsive staff »

Great location only 15 miles from San B, away from noise and commotion, but still a quick zoom down the freeway to town. The only place I stay when visiting San B. Fridge, TV, Microwave working and not loud. Large HD LG TV with Direct TV and plenty of channels. But what stands out is the service. During one stay, I had a minor problem with one aspect of the room that could not be quickly repaired, so I asked to switch to another room. When I returned that night, I discovered all my stuff had been carefully moved to the new room, things were in the exact same places to the inch! Rick, Pat, Heather, Cali and everyone is super nice, they are real people and actually care.

    5
    « Fun Place »

The staff are regular, nice, funny people. They made my stay feel more comfortable instead of the standard up tight and proper people you would find. I will definitely be staying here everything I go to Mountain High.

    « Great stay! »

Hotel staff was great. Sent us to a great cafe up the mountain with home cooking. It was great food. Hotel is just fine with the price reasonable for California. Will stay here again when we return and recommend to friends.

    « It's over night, ok »

We're heading to LA, stopped here for the night. There is no delivery of food. We were told a McDonald's was local, we never saw it. There is a Dell taco in the gas station just in front of the hotel. Upon entering the room, towels in the bathroom were pretty old, and brown with stains. The bed is completely uncomfortable. But ok for a night. The tv was nice size. Basically it seems that this is yet another forgotten best western hotel. But if you just need to crash, it's cool!

    « saved my Bacon »

I recently drove a company truck from Lake Tahoe to Dana point for a conference. After driving until 1200am. I was checking out in the morning and Rick at the front desk had notice a tack weld on a piece of my cargo had broken an the wind had affected the metal. I inspected it and was able to rip it off with one hand. He observation and follow up prevented me in possibly being involved in an accident. Also, the gentleman that checked me in when I was exhausted was very helpful and put me in a ground level in front of my cargo. This place was very close to the highway and next to a gas station which had a food option. Breakfast was good. I didn't notice any road noise at night.

    3
« Best Place to stay to view Trains »

Read the reviews before we booked this hotel so wasn't going to be disappointed when we got there, knew about the construction and we were there for the train spotting so it didn't worry us . The hotel was clean and tidy ,bathroom was a little small but as I said we where there for the trains so the noise of the trains didn't bother us. Breakfast was good to start the day .

    5
    « Clean and Accommodating »

The Best Western on Cajon Pass was a nice place to stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is right off the highway, and located next to a Del Taco and a 76 station. I would recommend staying here.

    4
« Nice place to stay, but ask questions when you checkin »

The hotel is nice and clean, check out staff is more helpful than the check in staff. Prefer this hotel than others in area. Breakfast in the morning is a bonus. Worth staying with construction nearby.

    4
« Great overnight even with construction! »

The adjacent freeway construction is readily seen, but it didn't interfere with a good night's sleep, a hot and tasty breakfast, and a place just to relax before traveling farther. The staff were friendly and helpful, wanting to do all they could to assure a good stay.

    2
« PAY MORE GET MORE »

I Honestly Tell Myself Why Do I Even Keep Bothering To Reserve With Bw Cajon Pass. Not Worth It, Bugs In Lobby, Rooms Smell, No Ice Because Construction Workers Use It All..Just Very Disappointed. Next Time, For $20-30 More Im Gonna Stay At Holiday Inn Or Marriott In Hesperia.

    5
« Excellent Value and Customer Service »

The hotel is conveniently located off of the freeway and I found the staff to be extremely nice and helpful. Pet friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. The woman who checked us in gave us earplugs just in case the construction was too noisy, but neither my husband nor I noticed any noise. I left a beach towel behind and the manager called to let me know how. I was able to stop by a few days later on the way home and pick it up. For the price, it's a really excellent value.

    « Rough night sleep! »

Construction is loud, ALL NIGHT LONG!! Very bright lights!! The staff are not very friendly. We ran out of toilet paper and could not find anyone there to get some from!! Had to go to the gas station, which isn't too far away. The pool is closed during construction and that's 6 days a week!

« Great stay near Cajon Pass »

Great little hotel near Cajon Pass. It is in close proximity to all the train action if you in to that kind of stuff. Room was clean but not too fancy. The rooms include refrigerators and microwaves if you want to save move.

    4
    « Good night's sleep »

Clean comfortable stay with all of the basics, and the pool was very inviting. Loud machinery along the highway started early, so next time I will request a room facing away from the highway! Overall it was a very good experience for one night.
