Best Western Pawleys Island

Clean room, good breakfast, good value, friendly staff. We really enjoyed the area outside the breakfast where we were able to have family game night and watched a movie. Front desk staff was very accommodating, due to some bad weather we weren't able to what we planned before check-in but stopped in anyway, knowing it was too early and they checked us in right away.

Our entire experience was wonderful. The hotel was clean and the staff was welcoming and professional. We were greeted with a warm hello by the front desk specialist. Our rooms were clean and we would tell the housekeeping staff takes pride in their work. Additionally, Cynthia and Ms. Sarah in the breakfast areas were so nice and the food was delicious. We has such a wonderful time and would highly recommend Best Western Pawley's Island. Thank you so much!

The rooms are filthy no water pressure we're not recommend spending money at this property. There are a lot better places around Pawleys Island do not waste your money at this, Best Western it is a real crap pole

Room was nice enough but the bed was beyond firm. Very hard mattress on a platform with no box springs. We both tossed and turned all night. If you are used to sleeping on boards, this bed would probably feel soft.

Our room was clean, smelled fresh, and everything worked properly. The staff were great and very friendly. The hotel is not far from the State Park and we were able to drive there every day. The breakfast, while not as large as some, was more than adequate and very clean and well-organized,

The staff was welcoming and warm. I was greeted with joyful welcome and the front desk staff even recommended some great food spots and attractions to visit. As I walked into the hotel I could feel, but also smell it was clean and inviting. Our housekeeper, Ms. Tonaly, was nice and took great care of us. She was responsive and cleaned our room with my utmost care and concern. Overall, I had a wonderful stay. The pool was fun, the staff was nice and supportive and I really enjoyed the hospitality. Everyone from Ms. Cynthia in the kitchen to Ms. Kim at the front desk was nice and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at the Best Western Pawley's Island.

One family member ended up with BED BUG bites. Her room also had an unusual odor noticed when checking in. Sleeper-type sofa in our room was uncomfortable to the point of not being able to sit on it. Only other seating option was the desk chair. Price wasn't cheap but overall it felt on the cheap side. Staff was very friendly, breakfast very good. Will not stay at this particular Best Western again.

The Best Western Pawley's Island , South Carolina, was a very nice moderately priced hotel...very clean...staff was friendly, kind, and knowledgeable...all in all a very nice stay...restaurants close by...shopping close by...

My room on first floor was not safe. Specifically, the bathroom was dangerous. The safety grab bar in the shower/bath was connected to the wall only on one end. The other end was rusty and not connected to the shower wall. Had I slipped and grabbed it it would have completely sheared off of the wall and one could be seriously injured by falling and or being wounded on the sharp edges. The safety bar's condition was more dangerous because of the extremely slippery tub bottom. In addition both the bathroom sink and the toilet drained very slow. Luckily I was only at this hotel for one night. I certainly will not return to this property.

We have used Best Western on Pawleys Island for many years. It is an excellent value and near beaches. We have found the location convenient and accessible to all activities we participate in and enjoy.

Nice hotel, next to restaurants, grocery stores and drugstores. Plenty of eateries… Milestone Biscuit and Dead Dog Saloon were great!! Continental breakfast in the hotel was ok but we want more so we eat out.

This was our third time staying at this hotel and it did not disappoint. It is at the beach but not on the beachfront. We were about 1.5 miles away. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and the employees are all friendly. From the front desk staff, to the kitchen, to the room attendants all were polite and accommodating. Bed was comfortable, water pressure was great, the room was clean, AC worked great too, and ice machines worked as well. Overall, the hotel was a little on the quieter side which worked just fine with us! We will definitely be back!! :)

The pictures didn't look great, but the hotel was nice, the people were pleasant and it was a nice stay. The pool was really nice and breakfast was good. The rugs could be cleaner but that was our only complaint. It appeared to have all been recently painted inside and out.

BE WARNED - Cockroaches, trash and debris under the bed, mold on the wall AND the front door didn't work - the front desk said the owner told them to prop the side door open with an orange cone - ALL NIGHT - where ANYONE AT ANYTIME COULD ENTER. The Pawley's Island Best Western IS NOT run with the standards this chain is known for. READ the 1★ reviews first - I sure wish I had. Other reviews of dirty diapers, cig butts found in room AND they will blame YOU after the fact.

We had a very enjoyable two night stay In Pawleys Island for a wedding the week before Christmas. Everyone on the staff were kind, friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. We would stay here again

This hotel was ok. the room was comfortable and everything worked except the internet. The internet did not work the first day. But IT and hotel staff had it working for a short time but it went out again. I had a Zoom meeting on that Friday morning and was lucky that the internet was working at that time

Hotel location very good. Sad the functioning of the toilet impacted our stay and we needed to relocate to another room. The breakfast was good. Found garbage left in the closet indicating the cleaning staff did not do their job adequately. Needed to request more towels.

I was there for only 1 night, primarily for a place to sleep, after a Thanksgiving visit with family. It was ideal for my trip. Although the address is Pawley's Island, it is not on the beach and would not be a good choice for vacation. But for passing through or shopping at the nearby Hammock Shops and other specialty shops, it would be a good location.

Poor security and room had an odor. The water took a long time to get warm before you could use it. The outside door to area leading to a community would not lock, allowing any one to enter. Staff were not attentive to your needs.

The air conditioner sounded like a jet airplane warming up. The mattress was old and had a dent that killed my back. The walls had no sound proofing, it sounded like someone put hammers in the dryer. Someone in the parking lot had a bad cough and I could hear it on th second floor.

Lobby door "broken" therefore door from parking lot into stairwell propped open with a sign to keep it open. A big safety concern. When we returned from dinner our card key wouldn't work, needed to have desk clerk reprogram it, another red flag. Bathroom clean but towels threadbare. Bedspread very thin, appeared dirty. Pillows and sheets appeared clean but sheets threadbare, pillows bunched up. We left mostly due to safety concerns. We were refunded ($157 to stay in this dump for one night!) I will never go back or to any Best Western for that matter.

Enjoyed the convenience local stores and great restaurants nearby.I was disappointed that the pool was closed since it was the perfect temperature for swimming.The beach is an alternative if you have time to go there.I did not. I just wanted a quick water exercise.I got the room with the noisy AC.

We had to move rooms at 11:00 pm the first night to accommodate a handicapped individual. I don't mind the accommodation of an individual as much as the fact that they blamed the error on a computer glitch. Then I explained that computers compute what humans input. (mind-blowing) The New room had one towel. I asked for another towel and there seemed to not be a spare towel in the entire motel at first. After meeting with the GM an extra towel appeared. They were nice enough to discount our room a little ($50) - we paid almost $200/night. Won't be staying there again. I have stayed in worse places and I have stayed in way better. As I said, step up your game or decrease your price. Not worth what we paid even with the "discount".

Everything about our stay was excellent! Helpful personnel, clean room, great location! And price was reasonable! We would definitely stay here again. It was very quiet and convenient to the beach and shops were fantastic!

We were in an end room and heard both doors slamming ALL NIGHT LONG. It kept us up all night. Luckily our son slept through it. We ran out of hot water twice. The coffee maker made a huge mess when we tried to used it. The front desk employee had her friends and family in the hotel pool for a party so no one else could go out there.

The front desk personnel were very friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately the room smelled horrible...strongly like mothballs and very musty. The lock on door was broken and hanging off wall. The mattress was very worn and uncomfortable. Hotel is in need of much TLC and cleanliness.

This place needs serious upgrading. Dark rooms in brown, gold and green. Mattresses worn out. Very stained carpet. It's a management problem not staff. Staff was very apologetic. Looks like it is from the 70's

Great value, location and staff! Very clean and had everything we needed. The staff called as we were traveling to the Best Western to check on us and let us know that they were ready for our visit. Impressive!

This hotel is very conveniently located to many popular stores and restaurants. It easily accessible to main road. The staff is very friendly. We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and will continue to stay there!

The staff at PI Best Western was amazing. At our first interaction to all of the ones in between to our last every member was truly so kind and helpful. Being around a staff who cared and was so positive set the tone to our weekend. Thank you all so much for being a ray of sunshine.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Hotel overall clean with a nice pool. Love the breakfast selection and the availability of coffee, tea and juices. Located close to different shops and restaurants.

Room was super clean and the staff went above to make sure my stay was great. I had only plan on staying one night but because of the comfort of the room and the staff I paid for another night! Also close to everything!

This was a convenient location just off of the highway. I stayed on the first floor in the back of the hotel to avoid road noise. Check in was quick and friendly. My first impression of the room was that is was very dark, even after I turned on all the lights, maybe so you couldn't see the carpet or bedding. One of the bulbs near the bed was burned out and stuck in the socket. It would have been nice to have a light bright enough to read by. I don't think the TV was working. The bed was ok, not great. Bathroom was fine, nothing special. The rooms are due for an update but it was ok for one night. I would pass on the breakfast. It was very poor. The ice machine was leaking and the floor was wet while I was checking out.

Checked in 4 guests, our room had two shower towels. I went fo the lobby to ask for more. I was told they had none and was instructed to use hand towels for showers. The following morning housekeeping knocked on our door to try to take the two shower towels we had..... ultimately, we used the two towels, and the flat sheets off the bed to dry off.....

The hotel was a great price and location for where we needed to be. We were able to add another night with no issues. The entire staff is super friendly and accommodating. We had no issues with the stay and would definitely stay again.

This place has a lot of potential to be great with the location, however the lack of maintenance is unacceptable! The bathroom door hinges were about to break loose, the ceiling looked as if it was about to collapse, and the sink leaked causing the towels saturated with water.

We stayed at Pawley's Best Western for 8 days during the Christmas season. The staff was always helpful and accommodating, the southern hospitality was evident. Breakfasts included a variety breads, eggs, sausage or bacon, yogurt, freshly made waffles cold and hot cereals, etc.

We stayed four days and on the last night we realized that housekeeping did not leave clean towels. When we went to the front desk to ask for towels they said none were available, and they could not take any out of vacant rooms because they may get a guest. Really?? I'm a current guest and I can't take a shower? That's just not acceptable.

We had a clean, quiet room. Before booking here it is good to know this: Pawleys Island is actually a fairly thin barrier island. It is separated from the mainland by a pretty salt marsh, and there are 2 short bridges going between the actual island and the mainland. The Best Western Pawleys Island is on the mainland, not on the barrier island. (Nor, for that matter, are All Saints Church and restaurants with Pawleys Island addresses.) Good to be aware of before going there.

I am a platinum member of Best Western. My husband and I arrived to Best Western Pawleys Island and reserved four nights, from July 14 till 18. Front manager Latoya recognized us as we stayed in this hotel many times before. She gave us a good rate and asked to consider staying longer. We received an email confirmation from Best Western. On July 17, we came to our room after few hours on the beach, and found our room unserviced. When we asked for towels and garbage bags, the front manager on duty told us to leave the hotel immediately and provided no explanation. We requested calling to Latoya, but she refused to comment. We requested to call to the general manager, Kamlesh Shah, who started to scream at my husband at once and told him that if we don't leave immediately, he would call the police. Two policemen (Deputies Rob Myers and Chris Mauney) arrived shortly and requested us to leave in 15 minutes, otherwise we would “go to jail”. They told us they don't care if we leave our possessions behind. They refused to look at all the proofs and confirmations in our hands. After escorting us to our room, they realized we could not leave in 15 minutes. We were tired of a long drive and considered staying longer. We unpacked everything neatly. Policemen supervised our packing, which took 2,5 hours. They were standing in doorway, talking and laughing. Then they escorted us to our car and suggested to complain to corporate Best Western ASAP, as apparently they “have never encountered anything like that before.” At 6:30 pm we were sitting in our packed car, hungry, my husband with no shower after the beach, and no place to go. It was a night from Saturday to Sunday and the hotels in Myrtle Beach area were sold out. We had to drive 115 miles south to have a hotel stay for that night. It was our 38th anniversary and first vacation after two years. It was ruined, we were shaking from stress. When we called Best Western corporate, they called to hotel for the explanation and the front manager told them they simply “were double booked” by the hotel's mistake. No police was even mentioned. After dragging the case for a month, Best Western failed to provide any help.

Our room was clean and maintained. Very friendly staff. Ms.Cynthia at breakfast is such a joy! She goes above and beyond taking care of her guests. Good location and plenty of parking. We will stay again.

The Details - The hotel does have their own private parking lot and parking is free. There is no valet parking. - There is only one elevator and 3 entrances with 2 stairwells. - The hotel does offer free breakfast. - Late checkout is available upon request. - This hotel does accept cash as payment. My Experience and Review I arrived at the hotel late (around 2 am). I was greeted by a very nice lady who quickly got me checked in and was beyond accommodating. I was given the double queen room although it was just me, because that was the only thing they had available. My room was located at the end of the second floor right next to the stairwell. Unfortunately my room was beyond disgusting and very loud. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly, the toilet had "stuff" still on it which was so unacceptable for any hotel. The sleeping area still had small pieces of trash on the floor and multiple stans were on the walls and various outlets throughout the room and I also found a dead roach. The AC unit in my room made the most annoying and loud ticking sound which caused me to stay up all night. I have never been in such a nasty and uncomfortable room. I will never go back and if there had been another hotel with availability I would've immediately checked out and gone somewhere else. When we first pulled up, the lobby was locked and a note was on the door to enter from the pool back door, inside the food service area was littered with construction materials and tools. At the desk we were charged a higher price than we were quoted two hours earlier, probably to cover the $25 voucher we presented. We couldn't bring our luggage through the lobby so had to enter the building through a rear door in the rear parking area. I happen to be handicap so this was a struggle for me. The ice machine was out of order on our floor. I didn't feel like a rewards member at this Best Western and won't ever stop here again.

We stay at Best Western every time we vacation to Pawley's Island Beach! The staff are friendly, customer service is great and room service is nonstop! Definitely recommend to couples or small families.

My family got two rooms for the 6 of us and stayed 1 week. The hotel is in a good location and close to the beach. Highlights in the area are the bakery across the road, Incredible Edibles. Excellent pastries! The Hammock Village is close by and BisQit served up the best lunch we had the entire week. The Hotel was fairly clean and the majority of staff were very friendly and helpful. The family agrees the highlight of our trip was meeting the morning kitchen staff, Cynthia. She has to be the nicest person I have met on any vacation ever. Every morning I felt like I was going to my best friend's home for breakfast! She was so welcoming! The fresh fruit, watermelon, berries, etc. was just perfect! I would go back just to visit with her. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Housekeeping is on top of things and keep you stocked with supplies. Definitely would recommend! Everyone was wonderful! Front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast attendants. They actually serve a hot breakfast. Everyone made us feel right at home. We even got the chance to see beach! We will return

The Best Western in Pawleys Island has the best value in the area. It's not on the beach - but so close that you won't even care. The Hammock Shoppes are two minutes away - visit Bisqit, you'll thank me later - and Paradice is just around the corner (best frozen treats ever!). The staff at this location are so friendly and helpful that you'll never want to stay anywhere else.

My husband and I joined our family at Pawleys Island, and this hotel was so close to where they were staying. It is near plenty of grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. The staff were very kind! It satisfied what we needed to have a great vacation.

First let me state that the staff are wonderful. I probably gave Shawn, the desk clerk who checked us in, a run for her money, asking for this and that, needing the other thing. She was always chipper, friendly and ready take care of things. And in the breakfast room was one of the friendliest, hardest-working women I have ever encountered. Cynthia had a pleasant greeting for everyone and though she was wearing a mask because of the pandemic, you just knew she was smiling beneath it. On Mother's Day she gave each mother a little gift. Yes, we know the hotel most likely paid for it, but for my wife it was special coming from such a wonderful lady. Now to the hotel itself. We stayed here several years ago and it was fairly new and nice. Today it is looking a bit tattered. Room colors seemed somehow "off." The lighting in the room was so low that we should have brought flashlights. There was no remote for the TV (Shawn found us a working one while we were at dinner). Though there was a charging station in an alcove above the refrigerator, only the plug sockets worked. The USB charging ports in the station were dead. The heating/air was very noisy and the bathroom fan was so loud it would frighten small children. A toilet plunger next to the toilet itself did not inspire confidence. Each night of our stay we could hear a TV all night long which frequently woke us up. I am selecting "Average" for noise level because that is what it would be if not for the person(s) who decided we all needed to hear a television running all night long. Wi-Fi speed was around 15 Mbps both up and down. Breakfast wasn't until 8:00 a.m. unless one wanted "Grab and Go." Otherwise, breakfast was the usual buffet-style found at most hotels today. Because no one wants to work these days, the rooms were not made up on weekends. (Shawn had warned us when we checked in). Fresh towels and wash cloths were provided in plastic bags hung on the door handle on Saturday, but on Sunday all we received were two bath towels on that handle. It should be noted Georgetown County, where this Best Western is located, had only al couple days earlier ended the mask mandate. Masks were not required in the hotel or in restaurants.

I love Best Western but once in awhile it doesn't go that way. Booked this hotel because the website stated that you could "Walk to the beach". This is misleading because the beach is over a mile away and would have to walk close to traffic making it dangerous. I wanted to be close to the beach and this was not it! On top of that, we were put in a handicap room the first night where the AC was noisey, lights out in the bathroom, and tv remote did not work. The next day Holly moved us to the correct room and most everything worked fine. The only minor thing was that the shower curtain had a large hole in it. During our stay, house keeping did not come to work for two of the days. The staff did hand out clean towels for those two days. I doubt that I would ever stay at this location again.

I'll start with the front desk, which was behind plexiglass, but the gal had no mask. When checking out 3 people who worked there were with out masks while I was in the lobby. One of the doors to outside did not shut automatically so anyone could walk in. AC was very loud. Mattress felt old. Just not a positive experience.

Honestly, for the most part I liked my stay. The room was large, had all the conveniences, and was easy to get to (though I would have preferred a room with the door outside. Because it was inside, I had to wear a mask every time I left my room till I got outside. It was also a longer walk to the car. Convenient to Brookgreen Gardens. The main issue was there was a battery beeping in the hall. I requested that they resolve the problem twice and it was still beeping when I got up. I did turn up the air to try and cover the noise outside my room. But you would think they would have more than one person on staff in the evening. I would go back probably, though I might look for a place that had doors outside. I was a little put off by a used condum outside in the parking lot. Made me wonder what kind of people came there. But I didn't see anything that made me think I was in a bad part of town.

We had a wonderful time. The room was a great price and the staff was very pleasant. Our check in at 1am was great, the receptionist was very nice and quick to address any questions or issues. Overall for the price a nice place to stay.

Hotel was clean and updated. Great location, not far from the beach. I am withholding a star, however, due the friendliness of the staff. They handled all issues or requests, but made you feel like it was an inconvenience to them. They didn't make you feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the value and cleanliness alone, but I hope they train the staff to be more welcoming.

Very neat Hotel close to the beaches and ideal location. Lack of welcome was very noticeable. Beds were very comfortable. Very good value for money. The carpets in the walkways are in need of a good cleaning. It is really disconcerting that very little effort was put in to the to go breakfast. Wi-Fi was very slow. There were also no towels at the pool. I will consider returning to this hotel as it is very affordable

Was a little unhappy with the lack of welcome upon check in. Clerk was on her phone and acted like I interrupted something important. Was more friendly later. Had to change rooms because the TV remote wouldn't work. Tried a different remote from another room but still no luck. Once we got beyond that, our stay was very nice. Clean room. Not happy with breakfast selection because it was the same thing every day but that's to be expected with the Covid virus. Overall would recommend this hotel and will be back again.

Excellent cost value for the location. Very comfortable beds. Clean and quiet room. But the "to go" breakfast is a joke consisting of a water bottle, an apple and a granola bar, that's it. So until things get more back to normal assume breakfast not included.

Not a vacation spot.was a short drive to the beach but no relaxing at this place. Shortage on towels. Only good thing was the comfortable beds. Room wasn't what the website shows. Run... our room number was 202 in between the elevator and stairs, very loud

I have waited 2 weeks to do this review to see if I get a call from management. I have even contacted corporate and the hotel isn't responding to them either. Go Somewhere else. When we checked in, I went straight back to desk after seeing condition of room. I was told all she could do was put me in a king room. We had 2 adults 3 children. When I said that wouldn't work she said sorry I will leave a note for my manager. The shower curtain and bathroom door looked like someone picked their nose and wiped it there. There was dirty baby bottles by the bed in the floor. I am a Diamond Select member and can assure you I will Never even consider this location again.

Had never been in this city or seen this motel, just randomly picked it on our way to Key West, FL. It was not busy at all during our January visit. Motel itself is a bit dated and our room mattress needed changing out but it wasn't that bad. There was a gap in the wall where the a/c unit fit and that let lots of air in. It was cold outside, too. The breakfast experience at this motel was amazing. We met nice folks from all over the country down there and the wonderful lady working there was a joy to talk to each morning. The food was really good, too. Well done. Probably never be back in this area again but we would stay here again. There was good value for the money spent.

If you like getting screwed over, then this is the hotel for you! I made a reservation for a wedding, and then plans changed, so weeks before my reservation, I called back to cancel. No problem, right? I made the mistake of trusting that the front desk staff actually did their job and cancelled my reservation, but low and behold, I was still charged, even though I never checked in and they never called me. Took three days of calling to speak with a manager, being told to call back again tomorrow, even once being hung up on (excellent customer service) only to be told that since my reservation was at the end of February and I didn't see the charge or get ahold of anyone that could help until March, they can't refund me. Seriously?! Worst service and hotel experience in my entire life. Selfish, money hungry slackers. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

Everything about this motel is great. Starting with the warm welcome and easy check-in, to the nice room, the friendly staff, the great breakfast and right down to the easy check-out. We always stay here when we visit Pawleys Island. Latoya and Rusty are so welcoming to us when we arrive and we always look forward to seeing them when we get there. Best Western is the first motel to come to mind when we think of visiting the area. We've been guests here for years now and can't wait until our next getaway.

We stayed here one night when visiting Brookgreen Garden's Night of 1000 Candles. The hotel is conveniently located about 5 miles south of Brookgreen, next door to a Fresh Market. The hotel is basic, but was very reasonably priced and the breakfast has simple, but healthy food choices. What stands out is the --the staff made us feel like we were visiting their home. We really felt like guests, not just customers. The only negative was the pillows--too puffy and lumpy for our preference. Fortunately, we travel with our own down pillows. We'd definitely stay here again when we visit Brookgreen.

We stayed here last year, and it was nice. It's inexpensive and in a good location. However, it's changed a lot in one year. When you walk in the lobby you smell moth balls. The room smelled like mold. When we arrived, we found a dead roach in the middle of the carpet and several clumps of mud. The mattress is worn out and uncomfortable. The breakfast should have been better for what we paid. They can't afford yogurt cups, so they have a yogurt dispenser. You just squirt the yogurt into a juice cup. Nasty. If you need anything during the day, you will find the staff sitting in the lobby on their phones. A sign of poor management.

This hotel is in dated decor! The door to the room did not close at times, which meant being able to get into the room without a card! The door to the bathroom did not close easily as the frame was not straight! Part of the inside was cracked! The ceiling had massive water stains. The TV was very small. The bedding was for winter with a heavy duvet in 90 degrees temperature! Pillows were hard and uncomfortable! The pool was very small. The breakfast was a laugh, as it was advertised as a full breakfast and all we received was watery eggs and reheated sausages, Really nothing to brag about just what you get a cheaper hotels! Not even fruit was available! Just some old bagels and toasts! as for the commercials, I expected a great hotel, but was very disappointed to see the quality of a super 8 motel. Staff at reception was away or privately talking to friends or family! We will not stay there again!

We stayed here for four days in July. Our room was spacious and always clean with plenty of clean towels. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. There was always a pot of hot fresh coffee in the lobby. I don't know what Best Western pays Miss Cynthia, but they better give her a raise. They shouldn't want their competitors to hire her. She was always amiable and showed a genuine concern for the hotel visitors and her coworkers. She made an impression on me and I want to go back next summer and see her. The little grocery within walking distance was very convenient for snacks and things.

Clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Every member of the staff I encountered was friendly and helpful. Another example of why I choose Best Western above all the others.

The bed was horrid. Hard and unconfortable. The pool was murky so was afraid to swim in it. Housekeeping did not touch our room one day. I informed the desk and she was not concerned. She said she's tell the supervisor. Breakfast was ok but kept running out of food way before end of time for buffet. There were a lot of people staying there. Coffee was excellent. One shining light was a staff person Miss Cynthia. She gave me fresh fruit and advice as she saw me limping with a foot injury. God bless her.

Staff was wonderful ane kind to us. Room spartan for today but comfortable. It was was clean and orderly; shower and TV easy to operate and enjoy. Staff from Desk clerk, room maid to breakfast hostess were wonderful and cordial. We will go back when in the area. Good location away from the busy Murrell's Inlet to the north. Beds had lots of pillows...very comfortable. Again, Staff was terrific.

Stayed 3 nights. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ms. Cynthia at breakfast is so sweet. Demarcus at the front desk is awesome. We have stayed at this property several times and the experience is always a good one. There seems to be a low rate of turnover with staff because the same people are there each time we stay. Employees genuinely seem happy which makes for a better stay.

Our family stayed here six days. Upon arrival, we were permitted to switch rooms due to a very large suspect stain under the mattress. Staff was pleasant and accommodating but hallways and stairwells were despicable - nothing had been vacuumed the entire time we were there and I suspect for a good while prior to that. The same crumbled crackers were on the stairs the entire time we stayed there. The ice machine had mold in it. And the trash outside the side entrance door was overflowing and smelly beyond description the morning we checked out. I did report it and they were going to tend to it, but I know it had been overflowing for at least a day. The rooms were decent and housekeeping seemed to do a good job there, but the common areas are not good at all. Someone pooped in the hallway down from us and it was reported by us, yet was still lingering in the hallway for hours. When we passed by the spot hours later, it had been wiped up but not cleaned, so there were still remnants. It makes sense why the hall carpets look as badly as they do. It surprises me to read so many other favorable reviews because it makes me wonder if I stayed in the same hotel. There was a lot of banging around at times also, and a distinct smell of pot when we got off the elevator one evening. All in all, not a place I would stay again.

My husband and I stayed the week of July 4th. The hotel was clean and quit. The staff was very friendly and pleasant, Miss Cynthia was the best!!! The guest printer for the computer was not working so the desk help told me to email my boarding passes to them and they would print them out, which they did...a big help to us! Breakfast was a plus to be able to eat before we went out for the day, we never left hungry! Coffee/tea is available 24 hours. Comfortable king bed! We stayed on the ground floor and it was very convenient to the parking lot. I would stay here again.

I'm a photographer and stayed one night and two days to photograph families at the beach. While at the hotel, the staff allowed us to check in early and check out late while I waited for my next beach photo shoot. They were very helpful!! The breakfast was delicious! The best orange juice!! And the rooms were perfect for a quick stay at a great price. Pawleys Island is my favorite place and best western was in a great location for my business visit.

Been going to PI for years. This was never on my radar until a friend found it online with great reviews. Couldn't be more pleased from the friendly, personable, efficient front desk (interacted with 2 different ladies), to the super clean room, and the delicious breakfast which even had REAL grits! This hotel needs a revamp and pay staff better (poor quality) so they care. Seedy parking lot. Rooms and lobby were clean, but worn. Breakfast lady is the best employee they have! Been staying here since before it was BW and has definitely seen better days.

Our stay here was great, great staff, and comfortable beds. This was our 1st time in this area and we loved it. Being that i use to work in hotel industry to receive such great service was a big deal to me. Even when my daughter locked the bathroom door, they made it there business to get it unlocked before i left for the day.

Having stayed at a nearby dump the night before we were super impressed with this place. It was like walking into a mansion after living in a mud hole. The cleanliness , modern fixtures, quality beds, etc are such a refreshing change and doesn't cost a penny more.

The room was satisfactory, but the air conditioner stopped working the first night. We had a horrible night, and the front desk folks were kind and switched us to another room (5 nights stay). The next two days we did not have house cleaning service in the new room. The front desk person kindly expressed her apology for our "rough" stay, and advised that her manager would contact us for a possible reduction in our cost. Never heard from the manager nor received an apology or reduction. We are reward members with Best Western, but this experience has turned us away from Best Western Hotels!

The first thing that hit me was the odor. Very strong disinfectant with strong candy overtones. In the hallways and on steroids in our room. The hallways rug was disgustingly filthy and should be cleaned. Stains everywhere. Tub was sticky. Decor was depressing, all shades of beige and brown.

This hotel is a few minutes from the actual island, a strip of land with quaint, well-kept houses that have been in families for many years. The hotel is in a rather quiet, uncommercial neighborhood, with easy access to restaurants and shopping (Pauleys Island itself lacks both). The room was clean, spacious—and extremely reasonable. You can't ask for more.

The motel was clean and my room was comfortable. I came during the middle of the week and it was quiet. The motel is about a two-minute walk to a grocery store and there are restaurants within a mile.

This is our second visit to this hotel. As before, the staff is friendly and the rooms are very clean. This is one of the few hotels I have found the beds comfortable. Usually beds are so firm that it is misery for me to try and sleep. Their beds have just the right amount of give. The rooms have good climate control and are pretty soundproof compared to other hotels I have stayed. This is also a great location. There is a Fresh Market next door, along with a great little book store and a Chico's. Only a few miles from the Hammock Shoppes, two miles from the best ice cream I have ever had (Paradice Ice Cream). It is only 4 miles from Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park (and Atalaya). Brookgreen is our favorite vacation spot, acres of flora/fauna and the most spectacular statues you will ever see. This is the only place we will stay when visiiting this area. Highly recommended!

Over the years, we have enjoyed this Best Western while visiting family in that area. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. We can have great resting time each evening and be ready for a family fun time the next morning.

Super clean, well appointed hotel. It's been many different franchises and Best Western has done the best job. The rooms are comfortable, the towels are thick and nice. The internet is above average! Centrally located. Minutes to the beach, Brookgreen Gardens and Mytrtle Beach.

For some reason my Credit Card was charged at 7:38a.m on the day I arrived for an amount different than my room I had reserved and was refunded back almost 2 hours later. I did not arrive at the Hotel to check in until around 10:00p.m but was given a notice of the charge and refund. When I asked the gentleman why my card was charged that morning prior to my arrival for a different amount and refunded back he did not know why.. I asked him to have a manager call me and he said he would. The manager never did call me. The following morning I made contact with a different lady and she said she was not a manager. I asked her the same question and she was not sure why my card would have been charged that early in the morning. I again asked her to have a manager call me and nobody called me. Prior to leaving the following day I made contact with the same gentleman from the first night and told him the manager never called me. He seemed confused as to why nobody called me. Something seems very suspcisous about this and I have still not seem a refund post with my Credit Card Company at this time. I know it could take 5 to 10 business days but it again is very odd this was done around 13 hours prior to my arrival with no explanation for an amount different than the room I got.. I will be contacing the proper people to have this looked at more but wanted to inform anyone staying at the Best Wester in Pawleys Island of this issue. Thanks

It appears that Best Western may be trying to improve their image. The place was clean, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is in a good location and across the street from a Fresh Market if you need anything. The breakfast is weak. We were there four nights. After the first breakfast, we didn't get anything again. If you want a place with breakfast go to the Hampton.

October 19-21, 2018.Overall our stay was pleasant. The room and bathroom were average size, enough space to move and be comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The only issue I had was the musty, mildew smell in the room. The A/C filter should be changed or the carpet professionally cleaned. Lysol and air freshener were a temporary fix. The lobby, lounge and breakfast area were nice but small. Normally I prefer the Hilton brand but the price at BW was more cost efficient. I would stay again.

Staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. Room was clean and well-kept; hotel appearance was updated and modern. I was very comfortable throughout the duration of my stay and enjoyed it very much.

Staff was nice and Miss Cynthia a pleasure to talk to. However we did not appreciate the fact that the carpet was cleaned in our room while we were out for a couple of hours and we had to walk on wet squishy carpet until the next morning. Evidently carpet was cleaned throughout. At least they could have put fans out to help on quicker drying but better yet wait until guests have checked out before carpet cleaning.

I'm a well traveled business person in the U.S., so I have some experience. If you're looking for a nice, medium priced place to stay in Pawleys Island, you won't be disappointed. The facility is well designed, located in a nice neighborhood, and the staff is very nice .... from the housekeepers to the front desk. The breakfast is excellent, and served from 6 to 10 A.M., which gives plenty of time to rise in the morning, and this is not a skimpy breakfast bar. It has EVERYTHING. My sole complaint is that the toilets are too low profile, but these were being replaced during our visit, so that problem should be solved. Also, the carpeting, while attractive, has not been cleaned adequately, and for this reason, I did not give this facility, my highest rating.

Check in to check out all was excellent. The staff took extra time to ensure my stay as excellent in all ways. At first they had no rooms however by searching they were able to accommodate me due to a cancellation not yet processed. From that moment on it was par excellent.

We chose this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews. So glad we did!! Everyone was very nice and helpful. But the lady that runs the breakfast (and I'm sad that I didn't get her name) was the SWEETEST lady I have ever run into at any hotel. On our last day she gave everyone a hug....she says she likes to hug everyone that is departing. She was very upbeat and sincerely nice. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Overall a great stay!

The motel looked fairly new but we found out it was built in the 70's. it was well kept and they had done a great job of keeping the renovation fresh and clean. The food was close to being restaurant taste and the mattress was to die for. Very good night's rest. The staff were all friendly and professional.

Stayed here for 2 nights while touring the area. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff is very upbeat , friendly and professional. Room is a little drab and dark. Bathroom needs a towel bar. Breakfast is pretty standard with scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles being the hot options. Overall, our stay was pleasant enough.

We stayed for 4 nights. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very sufficient, and the woman that worked the breakfast room was very friendly and on top of things. The staff was friendly and the location was very convenient to restaurants, beaches and shopping.

Good hotel but we just ended up with a bad room. What I mean is my room was right beside the exit door and people were in and out all night. Oh well lesson learned. The breakfast was great and the attendant was sweet and did her best to help everyone that needed something. Upon checkout I sent my 12 year old to get receipt. Upon getting in the car I glanced down and noticed that my cc was charged for the stay. One problem I had already prepaid thru my companies travel portal. The front desk clerk didn't really believe me until I went thru my emails and found confirmation number. Overall a good hotel just don't get room 125 and watch your receipts.

This was a good homebase for visiting the beaches and shops at Pawleys Island. Was clean and well kept. It has a small pool that was clean and refreshing. We were not a fan at all of the provided continental breakfast but it did have amake a waffle station and some cereals. The breads and pastries were not very good and very little fruit. The hotel was about 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach, 10 minutes to Brooklawn Gardens, a few minutes drive to the beach.

Check in was fine. Location was 3 miles from beach. So not terrible, Great beach. Pool was OK. No hot tub. Breakfast was more disappointing than usual the scrambled eggs seemed that they came from some mix. I would eat breakfast elsewhere. But the carpets were t soiled. Housekeeping fine. Pool more of a dunking pool. A little on the dark side in the hallway.

The staff really goes out of their way to maintain the property and clean it. Every day we saw housekeeping vacuuming the halls, stairs, and picking up trash outside as well. They also do a great job for the pool. The hallways were very quiet at night and we appreciated the quality of our sleep!

Rated a 5 star but it was not. No fans in small Bathroom and no towel racks. Amenities were of poor quality. Serious Safety issues. Over the years both for business or pleasure we have stayed at hundreds of hotels. We have never had such poor care and services.

Still a good place to stay with clean rooms and beds. Staff was pleasant and check-in was fast. Not as clean overall as last year and carpets were dirty in places, just not a clean smell. Condensate was leaking on the awning for the door going out to the pool which created a mess to walk in. Extension cords were strung all over outside which created a unsightly first impression, plus these cords were run through the windows into receptacles in the rooms. Pool was nice and clean.

I never really write reviews but I stayed in this hotel for 3 days for my husband birthday weekend. People don't clean your room we had a big amount of trash that couldn't be thrown away because they didn't even changed the trash can from the prior day. Bed was never made and bathroom never was clean until the day we checked out. Price is too high for what they offer. Breakfast was nasty. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here.Workers where unprofessional. Not doing their job. Had to wait for the receptionist to wake up when manager went to get her.

I was impress with customer service during check=in and checkout. The shower curtain did not smell right and the bathroom had a weird smell and I think it may have come from the shower curtain. The carpet did not look clean. The room had a stale smell.

I was traveling to the beach and stayed over night at best western in pawlys island. It was very nice.very clean.great staff. All you could ever need .would definitely stay again. Stopped here for a night while road-tripping up the East Coast. Rooms are very tastefully decorated and clean with a modern decor. Very friendly staff and great value! Complimentary breakfast provided.

When my wife and I walked into our room we were met by a shocked lady. Our room was double booked. A very nice cleaning lady ran over and quickly deescalatedd the situation and then ran down and got us a new room. The next day we went for breakfast. There was a extremely nice lady (I do not remember her name) who was just awesome. She made a awesome breakfast. When we returned to the room our keys didn't work. All in all not a bad place but the double booking and the keys definitely left a bad taste.

We were in town for a family gathering. I think it is safe to say that I have never stayed at a hotel with so many pleasant and friendly employees. Everyone we encountered had a bright hello for us. Everyone asked if there was anything that we needed. Beds are very comfortable and I love the pillows. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Found hotel on Hotel.com. Photo's looked good but past experiences with hotels in the grandstrand area had be weary. I took the leap and booked the room. This was my first time visiting Pawley's Island and first time staying at a Best Western in SC. I found a new vacation spot for my family and will be staying with BW again. Check in was Quick, Room was nicely decorated, smelled tropical, very clean. Bed was very comforable and had ample pillows. Breakfast the next morning was great, people were really friendly, Hotel employees greeted everyone with a smile and good morning. Went out and enjoyed the area came back to room around mid day took a nap because the room was so quiet and comforable. Went out for Dinner and had another Great Night's sleep.

Every member of the staff was positive, supportive and smiling. Miss Cynthia was as warm and caring as a breakfast preparer could be. Compared to other Best Westerns, it could use a slight update. However the staff more than makes up for that!

The people at the Best Western on Pawleys Island South Carolina are great. When you needed anything or just had a question on best places to go, they always were right on it. Everywhere that they sent me to was amazing food, people, places, etc. I would stay here again. Location is perfect to be about central to a lot of things to see and do in the areas of Myrtle Beach or Georgetown.

This is a great place to stay very quiet, very clean, excellent staff very professional, their Internet works great. overall it's an outstanding place to Stay while you were in Pawleys Island BW has a great atmosphere about it.

Clean with higher level personal care items. In good repair and maintenance was kept up. Sweet little pool and fitness area. Staff were friendly and responsive. Breakfast bar was kept well stocked even toward the end of meal time. In a safe area close to shops and a very nice grocery. Restaurants nearby were very nice. Only con was the weather but they had no control over that. ??

Last minute weekend trip. We were concerned because not many people there but we were pleasantly surprised. Nice clean and updated rooms. Very comfortable and friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Would definitely not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed here in May and again in November. Two big problems this time. When I left just before 6 AM no clerk was at Desk. Called phone, no answer. Left key card, but no receipt or chance to review bill. The mattress in our room was well beyond useful life. It was concave and difficult for two people to sleep in.

Older hotel, but updated. Excellent staff. DeMarcus was great. My only complaint was the quality of the mattresses. They should look into changing those out. I wouldn't have any complaints if the mattress were better. Would definitely stay there again, regardless. Convenient location.

I stayed at the B.W. Pawleys on the commute from Florida to Massachusetts. The room and accommodations were examples of quintessential "southern hospitality." For the price and the value, I would highly recommend them. When I got home I realized I had forgotten a new top in the closet. The staff retrieved it until a family member picked it up. That is the definition of "above and beyond!"

Stayed three nights in Oct with group 30 schoolmates...older group. Had hospitality room set up where we gathered, and hotel worked well with our group. Great breakfast from 6-10, and rooms were quiet. Only issue was beds appeared older and in need to replacement.....several said too soft. Frig in room, easy in/out from Hiway, close to good restaurants, very help front desk. Temperature in room easy to adjust. North side rooms very quiet. Never heard traffic. Back of motel quietest.

Had a few problems during this stay but nothing terrible. Loud toilet and trouble getting a reciept at check out. Clean rooms and warm included breakfast. Friendly staff and a great location would love to visit again in the future.

We were here for a wedding. We randomly chose this hotel and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. The breakfast was great, very clean rooms. We came at the end of September, it was not busy at all.

We were so tired when we arrived and very pleased with the kind treatment and nice room we checked in to. The breakfast we good and Cynthia was so sweet and everything was good and the dining area was clean.

Went to Pawleys Island to celebrate a big birthday for my sister. I drove from virginia and my older sistrr flew in from Florida to celebrate the little sisters birthday. We stayed at the Best Western and it was great. The staff was so friendly and accomodating. The hotel was clean. The breakfast was fresh every day. At night we sat by the pool. Can wait to go back

Appearance of room was clean but there was a reek musty odor inside. Friendly kitchen staff and quick check-in and out service. I would not rate hotel 3 stars based on the smell, I was very disappointed about that. I believe the smell might be a carpet issue.

The room was very clean and up to date. The interaction with staff was always pleasant and cordial. They were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. The breakfast was okay but it was free so we definitely cannot complain and the lady preparing the food worked very hard. I never seen her stop moving! If we ever need a place to stay last minute, this is where we will stay.

I was given early check-in and I was grateful. Victoria, the front desk attendant, has very good customer service and made me feel very comfortable. I went to my room and discovered the room to be quite humid. Unfortunately, it is in a coastal town, so you can't fight the humidity in the summer. That same humidity transfers to the room, so you must leave the air conditioner on unless you want to be dewey all the time. That is not something the hotel can fix unless they get a dehumidifier in every room. The bathroom didn't have many convenience items in it, but that was okay. It did have a pump dispenser for shampoo and shower gel which was a cute touch. I had two firm pillows and two soft pillows and I didn't even have to request them. That was nice. However, my refrigerator didn't work and I found out once I tried to refrigerate some fruit I had. I went down to the front desk and was told that a defrosting procedure had occurred and unfortunately, the maintenance person forgot to cut the refrigerator back on. It wasn't a big deal, but I had to put my fruit in the downstairs refrigerator to keep it cool until my room refrigerator got cold. Breakfast was a typical free breakfast--waffles, grits, eggs, sausage, breakfast breads, juice, coffee, etc. Ms. Cynthia, the breakfast attendant, made it a lovely experience. She is like your favorite grandmother or aunt. She kept checking on everyone and asking them if they needed anything. Very sweet woman. Overall, I would stay again, but probably in the fall or winter in order to dodge the humidity.

Just a good place to put your head down at night. We would return there again and would recommend this motel for your stay. The hot water at times seemed much hotter than it should be. The breakfast was nicely done but crowded.

The first room they checked us in was horrible, I think the carpet was wet and had a bad smell( across from our room they had a carpet dryer because the carpet was wet) went to the front office to request a different room. The second room was a little better though had a bad smell bought some air spray to kill the smell. So, sad Mr. Shah( the owner) is a greedy person and likes to cut corners. We could hear the housekeeping crew complaining of things that are working properly. Also, most shocking we were sharing the breakfast room with the housecleaning crew. Breakfast was horrible they don't provide most of the items listed on their website. Below are pictures of 3 days of housekeeping. Wow! what a shame. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, do your homework you will find better a place I promise.

Reserved for a king size room with sofa bed , very clean and nicely decorated. The front desk lady was very nice and made sure our room was clean and ready since we arrived a little early. Pool was nice as well. Its right beside a grocery store which is super nice. Will stay again.

The pool was refreshing and not overly crowded. The check in staff was super friendly and very helpful. The room was a bit smelly but a few sprays of the bath and body works room freshener and we were good. The fridge was cold and the tv worked. The bathroom was clean and well lit. The beds were a bit too soft for me but I managed to sleep pretty well. You could hear the recreation from the next room but not too loudly. The laundry facility was adequate. Breakfast was good and the area was clean. The lady working the breakfast bar was soooo sweet and hard working. We would definitely stay here again for a night or two.

We were holidaying at Myrtle beach and planned to go over to Charlestone SC. This hotel was midway between Myrtle beach and Charlestone. Had a short stay. The bathroom door didn't close as the door was out of shape for the door frame. Breakfast was not getting refilled efficiently especially after 9 am although they offered breakfast till 10 am. Hallways were clean. Room was good enough size not very tiny.

Great stay, nice quiet Hotel, no complaints, family was staying at Litchfield Beach Resort and had to find a place to stay. This was a good choice. I would highly recommend this to all my friends and family. Make sure you get out and visit Pawleys Island and all the great stores

First of all, the Best Western at Pawleys Island should be called the Worst Western. I am a 54 year old man with asthma and a nebulizer machine. I rented the room for myself and my son who is 17 years old. For the five night stay we were there, my room was never cleaned and the bed sheets were never changed. I complained every single night going back to the room and realizing the beds were a mess and the room was dirty. There were plastic water bottles from water we drank still sitting there. The bathroom was filthy, but towels were changed. That's about it. Complaining the second and third day to the night clerk, she opened the housekeeping book and showed me that the room had been cleaned. I told her to come upstairs to the room and see that it had not been touched. When she opened the door she said "Oh my God". She said she would take it up with housekeeping first thing in the morning and to call and speak to the General Manager, Donna. I tried that many times, but never got a response from Donna or anyone else. Finally, the last night I was there the same clerk said to me that they had finally gotten the room cleaned. I went up to the room, opened the door and thought I was in heaven. My room was finally cleaned. Until I went to lay down in bed and saw that the sheets after the fifth day were not changed. I called the clerk again and told her the room was cleaned but the sheets have not yet been changed. As I walked around the room that last night, I saw a writing pad with a note from housekeeping (I guess she was mad because of the complaints being put in) stating: Guest, if you are caught smoking weed in the hotel you will be fined $250. I found residue left, this is the first and only warning - Housekeeping. I checked out the next morning, I paid with my credit card, got a zero balance receipt, the front desk clerk said she was sorry about everything and that Donna the General Manager would contact me to see what can be done about the charges. After a week, Donna got in touch with me and asked me what my problem is. I explained the situation to her and she said I was a liar and that the room was cleaned every day. She said that I am just pissed off because I got charged $250 for smoking in the room. I told her that I did not get charged $250 because I paid my bill in full and had the final statement. She said, yes you did and hung up on me. After putting in disputes with Best Western and Hotels.com, who told me they couldn't do anything to help this situation, I received the credit card statement that I was charged the $250 after I checked out and left. THE WORST PLACE TO EVERY STAY. THE WORST PERSONNEL TO DEAL WITH. They are a bunch of lying thieves charging people after they have checked out. The rooms are disgusting and filthy. I would not book again from Best Western or Hotels.com

Great location, good breakfast. Everything was fine except the dehumidifier in the air conditioning system did not seem to be working because everything was damp - our clothing and the bedding. If you intend to read from a regular book, take a light bulb because the lights are very dim. Otherwise, everything is great here.

We were in town for a wedding; and the wedding party had booked rooms at this hotel. The hotel was good for the price; but members of the staff were truly exceptional. All at the 'front desk' were great . . . from the easy check-in, to recommending restaurants in the area, and for accommodating our needs . . . all friendly and very helpful. There was a woman, Cynthia, that helped with the 'free breakfast' each morning . . . she was a joy. She was very friendly each morning; very helpful in every way and friendly in asking about the family wedding we were in town for. Cynthia, and all the front desk, were great faces for Best Western . . . and would make us book this hotel again.

The overall quality of the hotel was adequate, but the beds were either too old, or poor quality to begin with. They had absolutely no support. We would have stayed longer, but checked out early to find a place with comfortable beds.

this hotel was not clean. most of the staff was unfriendly. Seemed very crowded with large families. Location was fine. Breakfast room was chaos (not hotel's fault) and guests were disrespectful: came in from pool dripping wet on tile floors made the worst mess I have ever seen in a breakfast area.

This was a nice clean hotel. The beds were not as comfortable as other Best Westerns but it was a newer hotel in a good, safe area. Lots of neat shops in the general vicinity if you are female. I would stay here again, nice to be away from the crowds in Myrtle Beach.

Breakfast was not good..but . staff was great. Rooms were nice, as was pool. Close to restaurants and shopping. Must drive to beach, but it was beautiful and worth the trip. Quiet hotel with amenities. Great value.

From check-in to check-out everyone was great. Mrs. Cynthia, cooks the very best breakfast and is so, so, so sweet. She was a blessing during our 2 night stay. The beds were great and we love the pillows. The only thing that might bother someone was that the toilet would just start running, and then shut off. It didn't matter if it was in use or not. But we just pulled the door closed and it was fine. And the top of the AC need to be wiped off. We were in room #230. But again the friendliness of the staff and comfort of the beds and ease of check-in and check-out out shined anything that was an issue.

This review is based on my experience during my stay at this hotel. I choose the hotel based on the reviews and hotel pics, etc. I booked my hotel reservation through hotel.com and I opt to pay at the hotel. I had with me a BW gift card which I wanted to use and pay the difference with my credit card. Upon checking, the receptionists stayed I could not use the gift card. She and I called the customer service # on the back and they stayed because I didn't booked the reservation through BW website, they could not accept the gift card. I ended up paying with my card. As we arrived to the room, the smell of the room was pretty strong. The bed was not the best, it had like a "whole" which it felt I was sunk in and woke up worst than when I went to sleep, with a back pain! The hotel is small, small pool - just good to pass 1 nite. The breakfast was simply ok. Upon checking out the Latonya, Mrg. I explained to her what happened to us upon checking in and she really step to the plate and refunded what was originally charge to my card and I was able to use the gift card and pay the difference. She apologize for the inconvenience and did say the BW gift card should have been accepted with no problem. Overall, she resolved the bad tastes I was left of the hotel and was professional. I've stayed at a few BW before and this one definitely did not met my expectations. There's not a lot of places to go or at least that I was able to find. We checked in Friday and mostly all of the places where closed by 9pm. Overall if you have a gift card make sure you can use it before checking in.

I was looking for a place to stay while visiting my Mother in PI. The BW Pawleys had what I was looking for good value, clean, free WiFi, and walking distance to a restaurant and grocery store. Nothing special about the breakfast. I would rate it lower than breakfast at comparable BW's or other brands.

Nice and clean hotel in Pawley's Island. Breakfast choices were: cereals, grits, scrambled eggs, sausage patties/links, already made omelets, yogurts, waffle maker,etc. Housekeeping staff is super nice! The pool is a little small but we didn't get a chance to use it during our trip. We weren't far from Myrtle Beach. The only con- the toilet paper is very cheap and thin.

General staff employees were helpful and breakfast was always fresh and plentiful. Desk staff were polite and helpful making check-in and check-out easy and fast. The beds were extremely comfortable. Some noisy and rude guests disturbed everyone's sleep and then retaliated about complaints by pulling fire alarm.

This hotel is conveniently located. It is next to a small strip mall with a great bookstore and Fresh Market for convenient snacks or meals to go. The hotel is clean, the staff courteous and helpful. Full breakfast was free and very good. Only negative comment is that the mattresses in our room need to be replaced - not very comfortable.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The only complaint we have is that the beds were very uncomfortable. With that exception we were very please. Also we stayed the week of Easter and the prices were very affordable. Great continental breakfast with a variety of options.

The property is updated and in a great location. I felt save there and it was fairly quiet. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I would have liked to have more light for reading. The only thing that would have been better would if I could have had my tiny dog with me instead of having to find a place to board her.

We had a great stay in Pawley's this weekend. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained, plus newly updated. The location is perfect! Beds were very comfortable. The only suggestion I have is the availability of more information on the area and things to do and a little more help there. For instance, quickest access to the beach. The motel was very clean. Our room was in great condition and very clean. The staff was very accommodating. The beds did not sleep well. New mattresses needed. Daily room service was good and housekeeping staff was friendly.

This is a very nice property! The only problem we had was the shower head was broken. I called the front desk and maintenance had it fixed in no time at all. Our room was clean and spacious. The 1st time we stayed, the bed was not very comfortable. Prior to my return, I spoke with LaToya, the front desk manager, and she assured me of a comfortable bed for my stay. The bed was most comfortable and the room clean. Ms. Cynthia and Ms. Sarah were wonderful breakfast hostesses and the food tasty.

Had a little trouble with check-in, as some guests had decided to smoke in their room, but receptionist was very accommodating inf inding us another room. The lady serving the breakfast was so sweet and helpful. Would stay here again.

Upon early arrival the room was clean and ready to go. The staff was very friendly and professional. Requested to leave my motorcycle parked under the entrance awning, and there was no problem in granting that. The next morning there were other motorcycles under the awning as well. When I reported a water leak in the hallway under the carpet, they responded quickly with a safety sign to others would not be inconvenienced in any way. Additional needs were promptly responded to my complete satisfaction. Would I stay here again, sure, and wouldn't think twice.

I don't usually stay in a Best Western, but this experience opens me up to trying the brand again. My room on the second floor (2 floor property) was quiet, very clean, and spacious. The rooms come equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. I had a King room which includes a small sofa end. Large TV and love the channel selections. Bathroom has shampoo and body wash dispensers on the wall with Natura product which was awesome!! When I return to Pawleys Island for business, I will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at Best Western Pawleys island for one night so that we could do a bit of beach combing. While there was a minor hiccup during the check in, all went well. Room was clean, mattress good. Breakfast, while not wonderful, was certainly decent with a good variety, including some hot items. We stayed on a Tuesday night a couple weeks after Labor Day. Hotel was almost empty. Recommended.

This was our first visit to Pawleys Island and we hope to visit again and stay at this Best Western. We stayed in room 211 which had a king size bed with a very comfortable mattress. It was a large room with a sofa bed, which we enjoyed sitting on and watching TV. There was also a desk for sitting and writing our post cards. The room was very clean and maintained throughout our stay. The lobby and parking lot were also very clean and the location was great. The breakfast bar was also good. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We come to Pawleys Island a day earlier before our Beach House is Ready on Saturday. We love The Best Western. Very Comfortable and very quiet Hotel. A cute Best Western nestled in beautiful Pawley's Island, South Carolina. 5 minute drive to the beach. Close to all amenities. A Clean and affordable place. A 45 minute drive to Myrtle Beach and an hour and a half to Charleston. A definite revisit.

Clean, and for price per night it was a great deal. Breakfast foods were typical. Rooms appeared clean. New experience for me with liquid soap and shampoo dispensers in shower at a hotel. Had to search for hair dyer. Front desk staff friendly, albeit the person who checked us in was new. The beds in our room are sorely in need of replacement......super soft and used. Overall, we would stay again for the one night needed.

We loved this hotel in Pawleys Island. Hotel is clean, it smells clean. The staff is great. The breakfast is fantastic! The lady that over sees the breakfast is super sweet. First of all, the Best Western at Pawleys Island should be called the Worst Western. I am a 54 year old man with asthma and a nebulizer machine. I rented the room for myself and my son who is 17 years old. For the five night stay we were there, my room was never cleaned and the bed sheets were never changed. I complained every single night going back to the room and realizing the beds were a mess and the room was dirty. There were plastic water bottles from water we drank still sitting there. The bathroom was filthy, but towels were changed. That's about it. Complaining the second and third day to the night clerk, she opened the housekeeping book and showed me that the room had been cleaned. I told her to come upstairs to the room and see that it had not been touched. When she opened the door she said "Oh my God". She said she would take it up with housekeeping first thing in the morning and to call and speak to the General Manager, Donna. This was oir first visit to Pawleys Island Juanita was great on check in. The hotel was recently remodeled and looks great. Central location right on Rte 17. Price was great for the room, close to food. The room has fridge and microwave. Breakfast was typical, and good service and everyone friendly. Pawley Island is close to Myrtle Beach but not to commercialized.

After reading the Trip Advisor reviews of this hotel, we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! We were greeted at the front desk by Juanita who is a real jewel. She was exceptionally friendly and helpful; made us feel more like family than guests - the epitome of southern hospitality! She made great recommendations on where to eat and what to see. The hotel itself is well maintained and clean. Our room and bathroom were very clean and nicely appointed. The breakfast selection was above average and was included in the price of the room. The pool also looked clean and inviting, although we preferred to spend our time at the beach. For the money, you can't beat this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel because of its convenient location for us, since we were helping our daughter move and relocate to this area. It was quiet enough even though it's situated right off of the busy Rt. 17 that goes to Myrtle Beach, and it allowed convenient access to this road. This hotel was very accommodating to our daughter's dietary needs and gave her some gluten-free cereal for breakfast and dairy-free soy milk to eat it with. I wish more hotels would do this!! She gets tired of just eating eggs and fruit. Also, during our stay one side of the toilet seat came detached from the base of the toilet. We let the front desk person know, and by the time we went back to the room in the late evening the problem was fixed. A newer, ceramic toilet seat replaced the loose plastic one. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, allowing for an all-important good night's sleep. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here!

As we arrived we immediately received a fantastic welcome, incl. good recommendations for activities around the hotel. You could immediately feel that the hotel manager really cares about the visitors. This first impression has been supported by the breakfast amenities and the food provided. The rooms are very well equipped and clean. At no time we felt uncomfortable. Obviously the prices at this time of the year are higher - visiting outside of July / Aug provides a good value for money. We really can recommend this hotel to a friend.

We arrived at our hotel 2 hours earlier than check in: the young lady at the front desk went out of her way to find us a room available immediately. She was courteous, professional, and genuinely nice! The young lady that prepared our room for us had to bring us fresh towels when they were ready, and she kept asking if there was anything else she could do for us to make our stay more comfortable. Who cares about people like that anymore? BW does! We will definitely be returning to BW for all of our out of town stays. Thanks again BW!

Extreamly clean hotel, just as others noted on trip advisor. This is the reason why I chose this hotel. Room was great, bed very comfortable, bathroom very clean, no foul odors in room, hallway or main check in area. Would definitely stay again if in area. Highly recommended. Very pleasant staff.

Henry served two rooms for the week of 4th of July. Upon arrival was able to check into both rooms in under 10 minutes. Rooms were clean and nice and cool. During our week-long stay the only problems encountered were one of the ice machines was out of service and TV remotes. Morning breakfast was average, but did include hot items also. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

If you are staying in Pawleys, this is a very centrally located hotel. Close enough to Georgetown and Myrtle Beach. Excellent upscale food market next door if you plan on buying grocery items to keep in the room or take on a picnic.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a new Best Western Hotel at a good price since it was near the coast. Most hotels jack the price up on the coast. We stayed at an older hotel just down the highway and payed much more our first night and had a bad experience there. I called Best Western on a holiday weekend not expecting to find a vacancy but we got a room for our second night. It was clean, new and the staff handled a mix up in rooms with efficiency and professionalism. We were very pleased and will certainly consider staying here again if ever in the area again.

The hotel appears to have been recently renovated. It is clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. A/C was good without being too loud which I really appreciated! The breakfast was ok. My kids found things to eat, but it all tasted very processed, which I guess it is....so... Internet could have been faster, but it was acceptable. The real high point was the staff! They were really nice, friendly and helpful people. They made the stay excellent in my opinion!

We came here for a wedding and it was a pretty decent hotel. The rooms were clean and pretty up to date. The only issue we had was at check in when our room wasn't blocked under the reservation. The staff was very patient and worked to take care of everything. The breakfast was pretty decent. Lastly, the hotel was located in a good place for site seeing. Not what I expected for a Best Western. They have certainly come a long way.

Outstanding hotel and staff. Clean throughout. The staff are attentive and pleasant. Very good breakfast and excellent pool. Nice location in area south of Myrtle Beach - quieter region but with nearby beach access (less crowded beaches) and many restaurants in the area. Fresh Mart grocery next door is super convenient for fresh, prepared food, snacks, beer and wine, etc. We will stay here again.

This hotel for an excellent value for the location. Hotel in nice shape and clean. Close to plenty of places to eat, area was not crowded like Myrtle Beach, and close to the beaches. We used Huntington Beach State Park to go to the beach. $5/day per person or a weekly pass for $37.50 and was 5 miles from the hotel. Big parking lot, nice bathrooms, covered eating area's, Sand wash off fountains and clean white beaches with life guards. There are free places closer but parking is limited and tight if you have a large vehicle. I would stay here again for a short trip to the beach.

This hotel was very nice -- the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast staff was superb. The rooms are renovated, but could still use a bit more updating, Ours was a little dark, and the carpets need to be really well-cleaned or replaced. The beds were so comfortable, they were new and the mattresses were great! The overall experience was good, was a good value, and breakfast was good.

My 2 friends and I stayed here this past weekend. The girl at the front desk was super nice, and the room was very clean. The pool was clean as well. The free breakfast was also an added plus, there was a lot of variety and it was pretty good. We enjoyed our stay and I'll definitely be back. Thank you!

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good, and staff was very personable. Our only issue is that the beds are too soft for anyone with back problems. My wife and I were both in pain during our stay because there was little support in the mattress.

The hotel staff made this place a truly wonderful place to stay. Their friendly, helpful attitudes provided a pleasant respite from the norm. The rooms were well prersented and decorated and the breakfast was filling, nourishing and had plenty of 'healthy' choices.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again. The front desk, food service, and housekeeping staff were all outstanding. Very welcoming, courteous, accommodating, etc...all that you would expect from a 4-star hotel. Although the breakfast was good (incl. hot eggs and sausage), such is becoming the norm for $100+/night hotels. The room was average but well kept and very comfortable. Although not on the shore, the hotel location was within walking distance of a nice Italian restaurant and a very quaint, in the woods type, shopping area. I liked the wine boutique which had an eight wine tasting special for only $8.00 and sold beautifully hand-blown wind bottles from Armenia. The wife and I enjoyed our vacation to Pawley's Island and not too far Myrtle Beach.

Donna Bass was very helpful and very informative with making us feel comfortable and offered many places for restaurants to eat. Motel was very clean and the beds were comfy. The lobby was very clean and inviting. The breakfast was ok but felt the area was to small to hold all the people.

I mistakenly thought this property was oceanfront when I booked. Little did I know that there is NO oceanfront hotel in Pawleys Island. But the incredible customer service, cleanliness, and comfort turned my disappointment to thankfulness. Staff couldn't have been more courteous. It was a great place to rest and relax after a day at the beach.

The beds were comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and it's in a great location, only about 5 minutes to the beach. My only complaint is that the pool wasn't working. Hopefully that will be fixed soon!

I booked a room from March 10 through March 14th, to attend my sister-in-law's funeral on March 12th. On Sunday March 13th we had time to relax and left the room at around noon-the "do not disturb" sign happened to fall on the floor and my husband placed it on the handle inside the room. When we returned at around 5:30 pm our room had not been touched, and the only explanation the desk clerk could give us was that the head housekeeper had made a notation that the "do not disturb" sign was on the door. It did not seem to matter how many times we explained that this was not the case, the only thing she could and did do was to bring us fresh towels. This was after having to request fresh towels after the first night. I have not stayed at a Best Western before and in view of the kind of service these employees provided, I do not plan to stay at a Best Western again.

Staff was friendly and the room was very nice. I was surprised by the overall conditions because I was not expecting that with the price I was paying. Great room and great savings. I will definitely plan on going back next year for the golf tournament.

Clean, stylish rooms with pleasant, helpful staff. Breakfast was better than average with oatmeal. Room was spacious and personal hygiene on the better quality side for BW. Only negative was towels weren't very soft. Close to restaurants and stores. Definitely would return.

Stayed overnight on trip from VA to FL. Eric, the check-in clerk was super helpful and friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome. The price was extremely reasonable for a super clean king bed room which was very comfortable. This also included a full breakfast which was not just the usual continental cereal /rolls, but included eggs, sausage, bacon and waffles! Will definitely recommemd to friends/family :)

We have stayed here, three times over the last few years. Good location right next to Resturants and shopping and right beside the Fresh Market. Two mile drive to the beach. Friendly staff and nice breakfast.

Looking for a place to stop while driving south, and seeking to avoid the plastic traps in Myrtle Beach, we decided to check into a neat looking Best Western based on location and timing rather than planning. The hotel is either new or recently renovated (I suspect a recent rebranding and renovation) and as a result was clean and attractive. Room and bed were everything expected, breakfast was a nice perk. Staff was welcoming and considerate, and provided good information on the area. For $80, great value and a good night's sleep.

This place is a tremendous bargain in a great location. General manager and staff were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The interior of the hotel must have undergone a complete overhaul because everything looked so new and clean. Spotless bathroom full of big, fluffy towels? Check. Soft, king size bed with luxurious linens? Check. The parking is free and well lit. Seriously- it was so good that I stayed an extra night.

This was my first visit to Pawley's Island on Labor Day weekend 2015. We stayed for two nights at the Best Western on the second floor. The hotel was recently remodeled and very aesthetically pleasing. There was some road work done right at the entrance of the hotel on the main road but it did not really interfere with anything. Great location if you want a bargain in Pawley's Island without actually being on the beach. Price was good for the room, close to food and fun. Pool could have been cleaner. The room was nice with fridge and microwave. Breakfast was typical, decent. The service was good, everyone was friendly. Check-in was relatively easy, we could not check-in early but there was plenty to do nearby, shopping and restaurants. Pawley's Island itself is a great alternative if you do not like the commercialization of Myrtle Beach.

Stayed at the BW Pawleys Island, SC, when attending Brookgreen Garadens Night of Lights. Pleased with overall experience at this hotel--rooms were clean, staff courteous. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was very nice, bathrooms clean with all amenities, service was excellent, bed very comfortable. Little bit of home away from home. We could relax whenever we needed a break as the motel was quiet. Staff was very helpful answering any questions promptly and finding requested items.

This hotel has consistently pleasant staff and is always clean. It is located right next to the Fresh Market in a quiet section of town. I would highly recommend for both business and pleasure. Great breakfast and fitness room.

Clean rooms. Very reliable internet. Great fitness center and wonderful breakfast. The staff is beyond incredible. Their service far exceeds most of their competitors in the area. Very highly recommend. It is also located in a great area--very quiet.

Everything here is just OK. Room was clean and maintained, location was good for our needs. Buffet breakfast is so-so, but server Cynthia was wonderful. Prior to arrival we called to check on possible road closure - no one answered; it just rang and rang. Some time later, we did get a person after 20 ring-a dings. So, it was no surprise that at check-in no one was there. Eventually, someone was there to assist with check-in and it was fine.

The room was very nice and updated. Everything was clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. Would stay here again. My only complaint is the air conditioner in the room made everything feel damp and humid.

Stayed here based on good reviews and the fact that that the property had been renovated. We typically do not stay at Best Western. The first morning there was no breakfast left at 9, breakfast was supposed to be available until 10. We couldn't find anyone to help us so we left and went out until 1pm. When we returned our room had still not been made up. We called the front desk and we were told that it would be cleaned when they could get there. If we wanted it made up earlier we should have called and requested it. Tonight when we returned from dinner we realized that no shampoo had been left and that a meal was in our microwave from before we had checked in ( 2 days!) disgusting. We have other options here when we need to stay here. Don' t recommend this property.

you can really tell they are putting a lot of work into this place. Every where you turn there is a painter or landscaper or someone cleaning. I don't mean this in a bad way. we were never disturbed by anyone there. they were very courteous.

This hotel has been renovated recently and looks fantastic. The rooms are very clean and made for comfort. The staff has been nothing but friendly and helpful. They have actually gone above and beyond. This is the best all around place I have stayed in around this area. They have an outdoor pool and are located a couple of miles from the beach. They also have affordable rates.

The entire staff was wonderful. They were cheerful, provided great service, and made you feel welcome. I could not have been happier with this experience. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying there again.

My hotel room was not cleaned before I arrived. There was someone else's hair in the shower There was also a curtain missing in my room and the first night the street light was shinning directly into my room. I was told I would receive a discount for all of this which I never did. Also, when house keeping came to clean the shower, they still left the hair on the wall even when I pointed it out to them. Housekeeping never cleaned my room the other two nights I stayed there, at 7pm I had to go down to the front desk to ask that it be cleaned. To top everything off, you charged my card twice and when I called to get this fixed I was told a manager would call me back. I called 4 times and no one has called me and the front desk receptionist was very rude. The only good thing about my stay was Ms. Cynthia who took care of breakfast. She was amazing and deserves a raise!!!

stayed here for 2 nights with family for a funeral. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. It was also very affordable. Continental breakfast is included and there is a refrigerator and microwave in the room. I would recommend.
