Best Western Pasadena Royale Inn & Suites

I have always stayed at Best Western and their service has always been great. They are clean, affortable, service orientated and their staff are always at hand. We have tried many but stayed with BW..

Hotel was clean and convenient. The breakfast consisted of over hard eggs, sausage and potatoes and pancakes (amongst other things) which seemed better quality than other BWs I have stayed out. Room had microwave and mini fridge which was nice. Hot tub and pool area was nice..Staff was nice and friendly. Room was clean with comfortable (firm) bed. Plenty of free parking.

Quote a price for the room then send email doubling the price. They made me feel like I wasn't welcome and wanted me out. It has caused me to rethink my Best Western membership. The staff was nice and responded to request.

The mattress is very hard. Sherts looked worn. Room smelled unclean, humidity was high. Found 2 roaches on floor. No plant based milk or creamer for oats or coffee prep for breakfast. Powdered eggs, bacon looked like shoe strings, fruit looked old, soft, not fresh and crisp. Rooms open directly to parking lot, motel style. Walls are thin, you will hear everything in the room next door. Very narrow parking spaces. Hot tub is warm, not hot, feels like 98 degrees at best. Pool is small and on side of parking lot.

We were celebrating a new job, and when I made the reservation I mentioned that and we were upgraded to a suite. I have stayed at this hotel in a standard room, which was nice, but the suite was not only larger, but seemed better in every way. The bed was so comfortable- I have back problems and I'm seldom satisfied with hotel mattresses. This mattress was firm with enough support. In fact I wish I could have brought it home with me! The breakfast buffet is really good. They have the basic cereal, yogurt, bread and pastries, but also both pancakes and waffles that you make yourself, and eggs, potatoes and either sausage or bacon depending on the day. I would recommend this hotel to any type of guest.

Skimpy breakfast, Mini coffee cups no food to your room. No personnel or security on premises between 12AM and 6AM, was warned hotel would not be responsible for any damage to our vehicle. This made us feel nice and cozy. Was told 2 times that $100.00 would be held back on my card until it was determined no damage to room. We are seniors not purple haired teens.

Not a place I would recommend for the simple fact we were on vacation and this place took my money for something that was not done by us even with proof with pics and video evidence the manager Joann from the name she gave said regardless if I can prove we didn't do it she was not gonna refund the money which was deposit and damage charge for a couch we didn't even rip we have video and pics. Who is gonna go on vacation just to go stab a couch a family trip they were just negligent to inspect the room prior or maybe just a scam to get money out of people. But now when we stay in hotels my children have to inspect and take pics and videos of the rooms where we stay at. I don't think that's fair for my children that every time we go on trips and stay at hotels they look and check there is nothing wrong so we don't get blamed for something we didn't even do. Make sure if you do stay at this place you report if something is ripped or broken.I just hope no one or nobody's children have to have this ugly experience.

Why have check in at 3pm if no one will be there to check you in. If you know a guest is checking in at a specific time, be there! Also very noisy- maids constantly coming by your room with their loud carts. Huge gap under the door. Was not given the hours or location for breakfast so unfortunately we couldn't use those amenities. Waste of money. Was almost late to a wedding because of this.

I liked the hotel, which is located just minutes ways from downtown Pasadena. Area was quiet, safe and easy in/out as it's right on Colorado Blvd. Driving to restaurants, bars and shopping is just around 3-5 minutes, but away from the headache of finding parking at the buzz zone.

I read the Yelp reviews before I booked this hotel although the ratings are not too high. However, our family has a very good experience for our stay. From complimentary parking and breakfast to stay, we received exceptional service. Definitely will go back when visiting the nearly area.

Very nice hotel but if you're expecting a nice breskfast you will be dissapointed. The cafeteria is extremely small and it was crowded with people. We had to eat on the couch of the lobby and i was very uncomfortable. I thought at least the food would be good and it was not. Very dissapointed. I was really looking forward to a nice breakfast like i've had at other BestWesterns. Too bad for me.

This is a property that has a lot of repeat clients and I have found it to be a reliable and clean hotel worth the cost of the stay every time. I have had two years of stays here and have yet to have a problem with amenities or staff.

Breakfast/Front desk staff was kind of rude; room was pretty outdated, tub was super janky… price didn't match the quality/not modern vibe of the room. I paid a BW price for a ramada experience, if you know what I mean.

Outstanding night at this hotel! The room was large and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small, but nothing that could not be dealt with. The shower size and hot water made up for it. It was an extremely quiet night- that was wonderful. The employees, especially the maid were so nice and constantly smiled!

Nice comfortable beds, clean room, great shower, right on route 66 you'll enjoy your stay here, great breatfast by a great staff, nice pool, but you will have to ask for room makeup due to Covid, enjoy your stay her we stayed 10 days as it was a very clean neighbourhood.

At least they have decent size parking lot. It is one of those motels beside road. But, it was definitively professionally cleaned. Basic needs and nothing to specially scream about. I don't eat breakfast. So, I can never talk about that part.

I was looking forward to a post-covid era hotel breakfast and so I awoke early from a good night's rest and headed down to the lobby. I experienced a breakfast that far exceeded my expectations. As i entered the dining area I was met with a warm and delightful greeting from the hostess. The fare consisted not only of the usual packaged foods and fruits but also freshly prepared hot pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage and potatoes that were as good, if not better than that of a fine restaurant. The hostess kept the serving area clean and the serving trays replenished while also assisting guests in the preparation of their waffles and offering to remove empty plates. She did all of this with smiles and friendly banter that left me feeling like a welcome guest in her home. It appeared she had this same affect on each guest. While I ate the room filled with people who were soon smiling and joining in the conversation and the laughter that this hostess engendered. I overheard a guest on her cell phone urging her husband to come down to the lobby adding, "You can't believe the breakfast down here." So, I hope that you will get to experience an "Elies breakfast" when you stay here, but I would not be surprised if Best Western or another company soon snaches her away to a more prominent position. Nevertheless, when you stay here you can count on considerate staff as well as a clean and pleasant room at a good value, but if Elies is still there it will be a stay of exceptional value.

I might be burchering the spelling, but Elisia? At the morning breakfast staff was so pleasant and sweet. It's refreshing when you get service from people who truly enjoy their job. The breakfast was amazing each morning with plenty of choices. Also a refresher after so many hotels use the “Covid” excuse for lack of any customer service and breakfasts. All staff was great, we'll be coming back

Property is an older venue, but very well maintained. Breakfast was as expected with very friendly and helpful staff. Bed was the usual great BW firm, comfortable sleeper. Internet was easy to manage and sufficient for mail and browsing. Streaming was marginal.. Shower was efficient and easy to use. A great place to stay for a weekend family visit.

Great area, my partner and I were able to make a late night trip to Target that was 5 min away with no traffic. The service was great, staff was very friendly and personable. Upon entering the rooms, you can tell they put a lot of effort into cleaning the rooms. The cleanliness is better than many hotels I've seen. Location is lovely, Pasadena is a great town with options to shop, eat, drink. I also didn't have problems with noise, it was very quiet so my partner and I were able to sleep well.

Stayed two nights over the weekend to attend an event in Pasadena. Booked one night using the Best Western App- that worked well. Needed to add another night- couldn't do that through the app unless I canceled my original reservation. Canceling the first night would have lost the less expensive rate for which I had previously reserved the room. Called BW Reservations- was told they would need to cancel the first night and re-book for two nights- thus, about a $50 increase for the first night. Hung up and called the hotel directly. They were able to just add more night and allowed me to keep the first night for the amount I originally reserved the room. Check- in was great. Employee was super pleasant, professional and helpful while explaining the property amenities and policies. I almost gave three stars for the property on account of how noisy the area is and how you can hear everything in the rooms next to you. Stayed on second floor and the footsteps from above were really evident. TV in room next door was bothdrsome.The bed itself was comfortable but needed a heavier bedspread/comforter. The bed covering was a thin blanket covered by a sheet - too light weight. Toiletries provided were really small- single use/one person. For two nights, two people, and no housekeeping refresh, it just wasn't enough. We did request more at the front desk and were gladly accommodated. I know it's a little thing but when you're touring by bicycle, space is at a premium. It's something we don't carry and we depend on shampoo/conditioner/soap when at a hotel. All in all a pleasant stay, just noisy, which didn't afford one to get a good night's rest.

This property in Pasadena has become a weekly stop for a clean and affordable room. I am subject to staying in the valley weekly because the the increase traffic since the end of Covid and Royale Inn and Suites offers a good room and a comfortable bed. I have been here on and off for two years and have no plans to change locations.

Staff was very helpful, rooms were extremely clean, they were so kind. We will be there again next year. This is our new favorite hotel to stay at. The location was extremely ideal and had everything in basic walking distance.

I always stay at this particular Best Western for the convenience when I stay in LA for work. The facility is always clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The only thing I don't like is the parking lot has spaces that are way too small leading to many of the door dings on my car.

The customer service at this hotel was awesome. The rooms were great, specious and clean. We stayed on New Year's Eve and we had sparkling juice and glasses waiting for us along with a bag of complimentary snacks. Very nice touch! Breakfast was great and we were treated like royalty. Loved our stay. They even opened up the breakfast at 5 a.m. for the parade goers.

The hotel room had a very unpleasant odor from the sink. When I reported this ad let the staff know I was not happy, they said I can very well go to another hotel. After a lot of struggle, they offered to stay in another room. The air conditioner in the room was broken. The fan would not turn on and even after I complained they offered no help. The worst part of the room was the toilet bowl. It was extremely filthy. I complained and requested to clean it. But was offered no help. I had to stay for 2 nights with this. I travelled with my family with 2 children. I wanted hot water for the kids at night and the staff would not allow me to access the filter in the main lobby and said it's hotel policy and will not allow access even if it is for little kids. The note has really unfriendly staff , inefficient at their work, and filthy rooms. I am never stating in this hotel again.

Service is friendly and fast. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. I've visited other hotel but do not meet my expectations. This one is by far my favorite. Will definitely return to this hotel. Highly recommend.

We recently stayed 5 nights at this hotel while visiting family in Pasadena. We had a King Suite, it was nice to have 2 rooms, 2 TVs, and a separate area to make coffee in the morning so as not to wake my husband. The shower was one of the best we've had in any hotel. The only downside was an odd smell in the room. It was most noticeable when we would come back at the end of the day -- almost like an animal had had an accident in there. We did mention it on check-out. When we checked in, it was later at night, and the employee didn't tell us there's an elevator. We're seniors, it would have been nice to know. Not seeing one, we carried our suitcases up the outside staircase. It was after being there several days we found where it is, you would have to know because it isn't noticeable from the outside or from our room. I found it by reading Trip Advisor reviews! Granted we could have asked someone after that first day, but really didn't need it again until we checked out with our suitcases. Then we found the elevator so we didn't have to carry the suitcases back down the steps. They have a nice, big hot breakfast. Although most people were good about mask-wearing, we were disappointed to see some people coming and going with no masks, and no enforcement by management. We ended up just bringing our food back to our room. There's no daily housekeeping (Covid) but it's very easy to get anything you need.

The hotel is clean and taken care of daily I am a little disappointed with the front desk clerks and billing procedures I like for people to be truthful when dealing with my credit card. I gave up on asking for my room to be clean and just asked for things needed and change my own bed with their linen and towels. But all in all the best is a good place to stay.

We needed a place for one night on the road and this place in Pasadena was just a couple of blocks south of 210. It met our needs. Staff was polite. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of choices. Grab and go was available but it wasn't busy at the time so we ate in. It has an automatic pancake maker. It's on Colorado boulevard and our first floor room was quiet.

A little bit dated but kept in working order, breakfast is good, waffles and pancake makers are good, no toast or bagels Slightly noisy due to being close to a highway but too bad. They seem to be following COVID protocols good.

For our 5 night stay, we just needed a comfortable, clean affordable place to stay in the area. This place met our needs. There was another Best Western just a block away ironically, but this location was just a little less in cost. My only real complaint about the location is that the parking, while free, was a little limited and tight.

Check in was smooth. Room was what I expected upon arrival as I usually am expecting the best western standard. However, my room lock was broken and instead of moving us rooms they basically advised me to just spend 5-10 minutes trying to wiggle and maneuver it to get inside of come down to the lobby to be let in. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I also had my baby with me. So multiple times I was standing alone in the dark outside with my child trying to get into my room, heart racing and nervous. My fridge also went out and no one showed up to fix it so all of my food and baby's milk spoiled. On top of that they only credited me $50 which they were supposed to remove half but after I've thought about it, even half isn't good enough!! I want this stay refunded. I was so vulnerable and unsafe and this has got to be illegal or against policy to allow this kind of unsafe stay.

We've stayed at the Best Western Pasadena Royals before. It has always offered solid value at a more reasonable price. This time it did not disappoint. Strictly observed COVID protocols restricted breakfast offerings etc., but the hotel was still a solid, clean value in an area of many overpriced hotels. We will definitely be back!

I love this place it's so nice all the room there all clean and smell fresh but sometimes it get to expensive and the lady in the office she is so nice and respectful..I recommend coming back to this place

Pleasant stay and good service. Location is not far from good dinning and entertainment. unfortunately due to Covid-19 I was not able to enjoy these areas to the fullest.. not far from Griffith park and Dodgers stadium

This property needs to be updated. It did not feel clean (the carpets were worn and stained, the bathroom floor didn't feel clean, the bedding was old). The staff was very nice, and it was close to a grocery store and fast food restaurants

Very welcoming young lady at the window. I will definitely stay again. I didn't like the grab and go bags made for me. I expected to be able to make them for ourselves and pick out what I wanted instead of what was wanted to give to me.

Front desk was very nice and accommodating. Room was dated. It was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The grounds are quite well maintained. Staff did a great job of keeping breakfast items stocked despite the demand. Neighborhood is a bit rough and tumble, but we never felt uncomfortable.

My family and I stayed for one night and had an overall pleasant stay for the price. We had an elderly family member so we opted for the first floor and had a room next to the stairs. The front desk were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was pretty clean, however, it appears the light fixtures have not been dusted in a month (or more). The beds were comfortable, but pillows were too soft for our preference. We had the complimentary breakfast and there were plenty of options (mini waffles, bread, cereal, sausage, eggs, fruits, yogurt, juices, etc.) Keep in mind that the dining area is limited if traveling in larger parties. Parking is sufficient, but may be worrisome if the hotel is packed. We were able to park near our room after coming back later around 9 pm. Location is relatively safe with multiple hotel chains on the same street and nearby highway entrances. Due to the dusty light fixtures, we may not decide not stay at this hotel in the future as several of us sneezed throughout our short stay. However, we can attest that the pricing of the hotel along with its accommodations were fairly priced overall.

A good hotel for those tourists with a rent car. Parking is free and you're given a slip to place on dash or hang on the mirror to display. Location is particularly good despite being over 1 hr drive time from LAX. LA in general is notorious for traffic but you arent actually standing still - cars move slowly that is it. We managed to visit every place we planned for the 5 night stay out of this hotel, namely: Universal Studio, The Hollywood Walk, Long Beach, USS IOWA, Malibu, Point Dume, The Getty, etc. Yes, easy. Pasadena is a nice town and the nearing Glendale Galleria was found to be a good mall for shopping. Must have been another one even closer, dont know. What I do know is that a Target is within 1 min drive or 5-10 mins walk. This was handy. Room was clean and well laid out. Great shower and toiletries provided. The microwave oven was used too. Would have no hesitation returning to this place.

We were pleasantly surprised with Best Western Pasadena Royale when we stayed in January 2020. Although an older style property with individual entrance doors, our room was a suite with separate bedroom and sitting room and was very spacious. The property is clean and well maintained. The free hot breakfast provided the usual items of scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, etc. and is served on disposable plates with plastic utensils. The location is very convenient, with good access to the 210 Freeway. There is a second Best Western nearly adjacent to this one on Colorado Blvd but the Royale is supposed to be a slightly better property.

We very pleased with the clean rooms, good beds, the great reception at the desk and the fact that they opened the breakfast room at 5:00AM for those of use heading to the parade. Arlene (I think that is her name) went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed to eat - and there was ALOT. My family of five had two adjointing suites and we had a wonderful time.

Property was clean throughout. Parking lot, Room, Check In, Breakfast Room All clean. Great price. I would most definitely stay here again. Breakfast Room Attendant was an Asset to this property. Check In was great also.

We stayed here for our Rose Bowl Trip and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating and Arlene was super-friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had what they needed at breakfast. The New Year's Eve basket in our room with snacks and such was a nice touch.

I always prefer to stay at best western hotels. First time in Pasadena at this hotel And I can guarantee that I'll be back. My stay at this place was wonderful Thanks a million. It was clean quiet lots of restaurants in the area safe walking to all amenities easy parking close to mayor Hways. The staff was super friendly

The front desk staff were very helpful! the room was a suite, and set up well. The only room we flt was too small was bathroom..... When making the reservation originally, Eric at the front desk went above and beyond, as did the staff when we were checking in.

Very clean , comfortable beds , adequate breakfast they need to add different selections on different days and stay open longer . Excellent staff very friendly and helpful. Hot tub needs to be be hot .

Rooms were nice breakfast was very good Arlene was great at breakfast. Price of the room was too high for what you get in the room. Not much room to move around in. Parking was not a problem. Safety seemed not to be a problem either

Bedsheet has a tough texture. It's like sleeping on sandpaper. The pillow doesn't feel like a pillow. It's like sleeping on a square pile of low quality cotton balls. I don't recommend to individuals that prefers good quality of sleep.

We came for the horse races. The hotel was clean, there were no problems with check in. I had to change our dates a few weeks ago and they had the new correct dates. The Jacuzzi was a little lukewarm, but was working just fine. There were plenty of towels available. We plan on returning.

Booked this hotel for my parents for a 4 night stay. Such a pleasant surprise. Super clean, friendly staff, great breakfast. Couldn't ask for a better place at a reasonable rate. Will definitely stay again when they come back.

Our weekend stay was wonderful. The room was perfectly sized (king bed) and reasonably quiet. We did hear a vacuum but that was about it. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were polite and welcoming. Pros: 20 minutes from Universal (straight shot and easy to get back to from the park) Breakfast was delicious Really nice for the value Cons: Parking lot is too small! We got blocked in because people were parking anywhere they wanted! Our door didn't close all the way, and had to be pushed hard to close. We notified the front desk upon checkout as that could be dangerous (first floor room) The surrounding area is a little run-down. We didn't really want to do anything around us due to safety concerns. Final Review: Worth it for the value, and the breakfast is a plus.

Breakfast was great. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable, room noise because of loud machine next door. Clean pool. Good location. Convenient location. Lots of store & restaurants near by.

Very comfortable, clean suite. I'm super picky about bedding and very cautious to look for anything on a bed that shouldn't be there. The bed was comfortable and very clean which is the most important part of a room stay besides the bathroom which was clean as well. I would stay here again, and will.

This is an older hotel and the rooms are definitely aged with some older decor and a musty, "old room" smell upon entering the room. Our suite was fairly quiet. The first night we could hear the traffic on Colorado Blvd. The second night we closed the door separating the bedroom with the sitting room and that was better. We could hear toilets flush and the sound of water running (I thought it was a shower) for a minute or so before stopping. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants, beside Asian cuisine, within walking distance so you have to take your car to get to any decent restaurants.

This hotel offers a wide range of guest rooms and suites, all well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Arlene at breakfast welcomes you with a smile and offers delicious food and friendly conversation to start your day. The hotel is conveniently located off of the freeway and is close to many attractions and restaurants. I always stay here when I am in the greater Los Angeles area.

I was pleasently surprised at how clean and neat the hotel room was. Impressed with items - such as towels bedding and carpet. - were not only clean - but was in excellent condition - not like others [ old and worn and carpet that you would not walk barefoot on,.] The best breafast. Breakfast along is worth staying at this hotel.

TV broken, smoke alarm sounded all day (probably batteries, which should always be replaced at scheduled intervals, not when they run out.) I asked for a refund of one night (of four), but the desk clerk was not empowered to use his judgement to change my bill. Found out the entire 4-day stay had already been charged to my credit card and was “irreversible”. Called Manager at home; he offered to move me to another room, but said a refund was not possible. Poor ethics and poor management!

Beautiful Hotel in Pasadena, has great staff and the service is the best. Very clean rooms and the staff is extremely knowledge with the area for eating, entertainment, and sightseeing.whenever you call the front desk they are always courteous and prompt at resolving any issues you may have while staying at Best Western.

All in all this hotel was great. The service was fine and it's location is good for LA travel. We would return to this hotel if in town again. Pool is nice (7ft deep is a plus) and it does have a small onsite laundry which is very nice.

We normally stay in Bed and Breakfast or historic inns, but our schedule had to be flexible and we didn't want to incur the high cancellation fees for those type establishments in event we had to change dates. We booked Best Western Pasadena Royale based on location and understanding it is a hotel/motel and might not have the service and amenities we normally enjoy. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay. The rooms were very clean, quiet, well laid out and included great bath products. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast was great - fresh fruit, pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausages, waffles, toast, bagels, cereals, juices, good coffee. All staff we encountered were friendly, professional and helpful. Great experience overall and we would not hesitate to book again.

I usually choose a place to stay when I travel by looking at 1. the pool, and 2. if there is free breakfast, 3. cleanliness and 4. free parking. The pool was not nearly as big as it was made out to be in the pictures. Also, the bottom did not look very clean but that could have been misleading, since I did not actually go in it; I swam in my daughter's neighborhood pool instead. Free breakfast was very good, as was Arlene, the attendant on most days my sister and I were there. There were pancakes AND waffles every day. Arlene was very friendly and accommodating as well as helpful. There was even a to-go bag of goodies for us on the day we had to check out before dawn. The only minor complaint I have about breakfast was that the coffee was on the weak side. Our room had beautiful high ceilings as well as a lot of space between the 2 queen beds. My sister and I were not right on top of each other. The shower and tub area was nice and bright, which is what I love when I travel. There is free parking although some of the spaces were a bit too narrow. Someone boxed in my driver's door on our last night. Also, this hotel is located in East Pasadena, which looks a little dicey in spots, with bars on the liquor store widow, etc. But the property was well-lit.

We have stayed here a few times over the last four years as my son was attending a nearby college. We have always experienced a nice and helpful staff, very clean rooms and breakfast each morning. The breakfast includes eggs and a meat along with the regular pastries, cereal, fruit, etc. There is a pool and hot tub. We worked on our laptops by the pool a couple of mornings. It was very nice. It is a convenient location to get on and off the freeway as well.

My family stayed here for a visit and had a good stay. The room was large with two areas with a bed. My son got to feel like he had his own room.There was a TV, microwave, and fridge, so we were able to do most of what we wanted in the room. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well lit, and the water pressure was good. We liked the breakfast, there were a lot of options and we were able to start the day full of good food. The pool was outside and when we visited it was warm enough to enjoy it. No one ever seemed to be there so we got to have it all to ourselves. There was always enough parking, though our whole stay a large big rig took up a whole row of spots, which was slightly annoying. All staff that we interacted with was friendly. Our walls were thick enough that we never really heard our neighbors. We did have to take the stairs, not sure if there was an elevator. Door entrances were outside, not an indoor hallway, and we didn't hear anyone running down the exterior. Overall we had a nice few day stay.

We had a very comfortable stay. Beds were firm and pillows were soft. The room was very clean and we had a microwave and fridge. Great breakfast with pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. A variety of pastries and fresh fruit. There are plenty of eateries in the neighborhood. I would be very happy to stay here again.

This was a nice overnight stay. The hotel is conveniently located on route 66, with plenty of stores, pharmacies and food nearby. Interstate 210 is easily accessible when you're ready to hit the road. The room was clean, small and well appointed. The TV didn't work but oh well. You can order in from local eateries and have it delivered before 10pm. Drinks can be purchased from vending machines. It's a nice, safe stopping point when you've got thousands of miles to cover. Check-in is easy, check-out, easier.

Had to be at Santa Anita race track for the day and arrived very early. Although my room wasn't ready yet, the front desk allowed me to park my car and leave it until I finished my meetings, then checked in. Turned out walking to the park, through a beautiful neighborhood and walked back following meetings. Room was extremely clean as was the pool. Had a wonderful stay and will come back in the future.

First, be aware that there is another Best Western RIGHT next door. Half of our party ended up staying over there by accident because of the similar name. They upgraded our room to a suite, which was super nice. These are REAL suites, with an actual bedroom with a bedroom door. The room was huge--too bad we were only there for about 12 hours! We had a problem with the A/C. It's a real thermostat, with forced air! BUT, it kept switching back to the default setting of 80 degrees, so we had to get up several times during the night and keep switching it back to 70, the lowest temperature you could select. If we had stayed longer, we would have asked about correcting this. Breakfast: the attendant was SO nice and helpful. She even urged us to take extra bananas with us because she had so many of them! I've never seen a pancake-making machine before, but that was fun. And they have the waffle machine, as well as some hot sausage and the typical reconstituted scrambled eggs. I really liked the hot still-shelled hard boiled eggs in a warm crock pot! And I also really appreciated that I could have fresh blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries, in addition to your standard whole fresh fruits and cut melons. They had just about everything you could want.

We stayed here for 3 nights to attend a concert at the Rose Bowl. It was within easy walking distance of the Metro Gold Line that we used to take to and from the concert. The rooms were really quiet, clean, and all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The bed is comfortable, the breakfast is perfect and the parking is secured and the staff are nice and friendly, I couldn't asked for more. I would definitely recommend this hotel, from check in to check out experienced are great.

This is what it seems: a satisfactory stay without glaring faults. It lacks inviting decor but matresses and counterspace were good. Room mini-fridge and coffee maker were a plus and the breakfast was decent, highlighted by the waffle maker--be sure to get there early to avoid the crowd in a fairly compact space. This hotel is beautiful and the staff amazing. It's an easy-on/off spot right off the freeway and is nicely located for all things in north LA. The hotel itself is clean and rooms spacious. Loved that they put a label on the toilet and have an encasement on the tv remote that shows they've been properly cleaned. Breakfast layout was fantastic, too, and the staff's friendliness couldn't be beat!

The staff were very friendly. The room was clean, beds were comfy, shower worked well. Room contained microwave & fridge. Lots of outlets. The breakfast was excellent, lots of selection. The kitchen was kept clean and well-stocked.

Our room was very nice and everything was clean. The remote on the tv didn't work and there were some other guests that were a little noisy late at night. The breakfast the next day was nice and the staff was very helpful except they didn't apply this stay to my 2 nights for a free night. Hopefully that will get straightened out. Overall nice room, nice stay.

Great location in Pasadena with most major LA attractions within comfortable driving distances. Free parking and free unlimited WiFi to all hotel guests. Quiet clean room with comfortable beds. Complimentary buffet breakfast with more than adequate food items. Extremely helpful employee at the breakfast section. Very friendly hotel staff dedicated to go out of their way to make everyone feel very special. Enjoyed our memorable stay at this hotel. Would very highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the LA area.

We were staying at the Pasadena Hilton ( pre paid ) for 3 nights and left after two nights to stay here on our last night and we both wished we had booked here in the first place . The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and efficient. We felt as if we mattered to them and were not second class as we were treated at the hilton .

We visit Pasadena a few times a year as we have family there. There are two BW hotels next door to each other. We always stay at one or the other based on price at the time. Most often it is the Pasadena Inn next door which is a little older, smaller but also very nice. The BW Royale is usually quite a bit more but is also more spacious and newer and much larger breakfast. This time I found a fantastic deal on their website for BW Rewards members staying multiple nights so I grabbed it. We love it because they have suites, a separate bedroom with king size bed and a good size sitting room with sofa and chairs, desk etc. This was also superbowl weekend so my husband enjoyed the sitting area. Both rooms have tvs. The rooms are immaculate and the staff are very friendly.It is quite close to the freeway, nice restaurants etc and on the east end of Colorado which is less busy than closer to the center of town. We hope to stay again soon.

Not so much to say, BW+ motelstyle. Cleaning, breakfast and service was fine, suites are the best choice, a little more expensive but worth it. Partly remodelled. Choose a room not facing the street, I think most suites are away from the noise. Pool is not heated so not an option in January. No gym.

We were in town for a family event. This was a very convenient location, the room was clean and a good size witch a microwave and a refrigerator. The breakfast was excellent with many selections that could accommodate most dietary needs. The attendant was helpful and kept the area spotless. I would stay here again.

We chose this location while visiting family 5 min away. Its quintessential CA Motel lodging. The staff was super helpful and friendly and the breakfast is what you'd expect but the attendants were friendly and constantly offering help and assistance with anything. Rooms are small but clean and updated and a good value for the area. We arrived before the Rose parade rush so Im sure availability becomes limited. We visited Universal Studios and without traffic it took 20 min, about 45-1hour if traffic. We then departed to Vegas and the freeways are very close and convenient. Overall very pleased with choice as we usually stay in Marriott branded hotels. Definitely would recommend.

The rooms were clean, up-to-date, the staff was very friendly, even helpful with suggestions of places to eat, and the property was safe with families, workers, and couple travelers making up the guest list. The breakfast proved excellent and over all a this was a great value in a super spot for going all over L.A.

Some desk help can be rude. beds had no support and was not comfortable. Food quality was horrible and either had no taste or was just not palletable coffee was weak and tasted like instant. Shower head wasn't adjusting. Staff didn't seem like they were happy to be there.

Unable to find suitable accommodation at the host hotel (Westin) for a recent conference, I opted to book a suite, ensuring lots of room to work, eat and sleep. The property turned out to be a bit too far of a walk--even for one who delights in that sort of exercise daily--and what I would have had to do was hoof it down Colorado Boulevard (about 4 miles). The first three trips I used a taxi. Having done some research on public transit, I decided to take the plunge when metro bus 181 pulled up to a stop just as I reached it. For 35 cents, I was dropped off 20 minutes later with another 4-minute walk to the hotel. And it is not just the considerable difference in trip price, but I believe in using public transit whenever possible. Not wanting to stop there, my next few journeys where on the Metro train. The closest station, San Madera, was just a few minutes' walk. After figuring out the Tap system (and spending another 35 cents!)., the ride takes about 10 minutes and the downtown station was nearby to the conference. My hotel suite was clean, spacious and included a microwave and mini fridge. It would be a good improvement to have real glasses (the wrapped plastic cups, adding nothing to the look or taste of various beverages) and perhaps some cutlery for those of us who don't want to eat out every night. There were two grocery stores just a couple of blocks away, adding to the convenience of “eating in”. The staff were uniformly courteous and helpful--arranging a late checkout was “no problem at all.” Definitely recommended for those who want to see more of the city than just through the window of a taxi cab.

The service was great! Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was also good. Many selections. However, the room facilitates need improvement. The room smells especially the air con. Carpet is dated. Overall, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

The breakfast was good, the room clean with a comfortable bed. We had everything what we need. The size of the room was enough for two of us. The hotel is near to L.A also to the Pasadena city center.

We were three people and the suite worked out great. Two in the main bedroom and one on the foldout sofa in the front room. Clean, free parking and wifi. The breakfast is worth 5 stars. It was fabulous. The staff was very helpful. The only thing is you would need a car to get anywhere fun.

Good rooms. Was interesting as a family room with extended space and bed cum sofa. Food was good. Great service on breakfast by Ms. Arlene. Front desk staff were very friendly and cooperative. I even got extended check out due to flight delay.

The property is well kept and updated. Rooms are a good size and offer microwaves and refrigerators. Breakfast is excellent. While some items are offered every day, there are some variations to the eggs and meats provided. Staff is very helpful, pleasant and efficient. Close to many major stores, just in case you've forgotten something. Local restaurants nearby, as well. Depending on time of day, travel to LAX could take 45-90 minutes.

Room was up to Best Western standards. Pool is small. Hot tub was a welcome relief. Breakfast was good and well stocked. Driving time to LA was doable, about 45 minutes. Allow 2 hours to get to LAX. Freeway traffic is a nightmare. Would stay here again.

We chose this hotel to be close to LA without paying LA prices. Therefore, the location isn't bad - about a 30-minute drive back from Dodger Stadium with traffic that is not as bad as typical LA traffic. The staff is very friendly, but we got the sense that they were new at running this hotel; they are hoping to make it better in the future (hoping to add a fitness room, for example), but currently, some mistakes are being made. They guaranteed our room for late arrival without any problem, and the front desk clerk was courteous and helpful, pointing us in the right direction for food, although there aren't too many options nearby. When we got to our room, there were two problems: a missing light bulb and a toilet seat that would not stay up. The next morning, we also discovered that there was no shampoo. They addressed two of the three issues easily but were unable to fix the toilet seat. That next day, we were out all day; they said that the maintenance man looked at the issue. If so, he did not solve the problem. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet had a variety of hot items, including a breakfast burrito and fresh blueberries, in addition to the usual eggs, bacon or sausage and pancakes. The woman who ran the breakfast room was attentive to everyone and made sure that food was restocked. It's a small room, which gets crowded, and it can be difficult to find a seat at times, but we were pleased with it overall. If we return to the area, we could see giving this hotel another chance. They have an attentive staff and seem interested in improving.

We chose the Best Western Royale for our recent travels to Pasadena. One again, it did not disappoint. The room was clean and well appointed, and the breakfast was excellent! We will plan to stay here on future visits.

Our king-bed room was smaller than I'd expected--there was room for only 1 person at a time to pass between the foot of the bed and the TV dresser. Sink area was also very tight. But everything was nice and clean, bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet, as we requested (as far away from the pool as possible). Breakfast buffet was decent but very crowded every day (we were there a week), sometimes with almost no seating available. Staff was cordial and responsive.

We we're driving from Phoenix, AZ to San Jose, CA and decided to stop and stay in Pasadena for the night. This hotel was perfect for a 1 night sleep over. We got a good night's sleep and were restored in the morning.

Booked 3 weeks in advance for 1 night, the over charged my cc on day of stay in am by 100.00 then get to hotel and they want to run another 100.00 why they have no restaurant, they never apologized. At check out they wouldn't give me a written receipt. Had to contact booking .com for help. After over charge I called from 9 am to 11 am before I reached anyone was told it was a mistake, but my acct was charged and money put on hold for 3 days.. The area where free breakfast was very small and crowded limited seating. Could only get coffee because things were empty from muffins, bread and fruit. Hotel was very clean nice rooms quite but not worth the hassle I was going to pay cash didn't want cc charged. ( many homeless walking in area )

We stayed here for two nights while work was being done on our home and found the room to be easily accessible, clean and well appointed. The A/C was efficient and everything worked as expected. The breakfasts were also notable. Well staffed and with many choices.

This is an older property that is remolded , comfortable, and clean. The breakfast was good and very well taken care of. Easy access to stores, restaurants and old town. The pool is small but that was not a problem as we were the only people in it.

Rooms are dark, musty/moldy. Maybe even smoke in he no smoking rooms. For the price the rooms need too be better. We had to be moved due to dirty moldy room & the AC was not working. Staff was doing their best, so it seemed.

Breakfast was better than most motels I've stayed in. Arlene, the hostess, was excellent. Very comfortable bed - sleeping is important! Location by freeways and amenities is very convenient for shopping and dining.

Very pleasantly surprised by hotel. Though location a little out of the way for downtown Los Angeles, was definitely worth the drive. Hotel room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was very good, especially compared to other hotels. Many choices and the breakfast supervisor Arlene was extremely helpful and friendly. All things considered, in spite of the rather out of the way location, will most definitely return. Can think of nothing negative to say. Very good for the price!

We stayed 2 nights. Staff was excellent. Very helpful and friendly. Quiet room, great beds and pillows. WIFI was fine. Breakfast was excellent. The attendant works hard to keep everything full and clean. She takes her job seriously. You don't always see that and it made us feel that the food was fresh and very sanitary. This is a nice hotel. Stayed here for business, and while it was not the location of my conference, it was well within per diem while not far from Old Town and Pasadena Convention Center. Great location in my opinion - lots of options close by, even walking distance. I was impressed with the amount of space and how BW has updated it despite it being an old property. The spacious living area and bedroom can be separated by a door with the bathroom in between - a bit small but I've had worse. Comes with microwave, more than decent sized refrigerator and both rooms have TVs. I did have a hard time keeping the room cool, but bed was comfortable enough. They have free breakfast with plenty of variety than the typical offerings. Staff was great - Eli, Arlena, and John went the extra mile to provide great customer service.

We stay here for family visits very often. It is at the top of our list. Very friendly staff and very good beds and pillows. It is at the top of our list also because of the location. There are plenty of places we want to go or need to use within easy walking distance.

I stayed here on a college tour with my teenage daughter. I selected it because of the strong reviews but was very disappointed. When we checked in a customer was having a nasty argument with the desk clerk. Never a good sign. There were two massage parlors across the street and a very prominent sign in the elevator letting people know they were on video. The front desk also had all the screens from the security cameras visible to anyone checking in. When we first got into our room, someone came to the room across the way and was pounding on the door for 5 minutes or more. All of this left a creepy impression of a less than safe place to stay. Road noise was very loud in the morning. Room was clean enough. Arlene, who runs the breakfast area, was very nice; she was the best thing about the hotel. I won't be coming back here and it was definitely not a good value for the money.

This is a very comfortable, friendly, and well maintained establishment. We stayed at the hotel is both February and March and had good experiences both times. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the morning breakfast buffet is wonderful! It is staffed by friendly workers who will go out if their way to see that you have what you need. Our experience during both stays was outstanding!

This motel is in a very good location, next to great shopping and restaurants. Although on Colorado Blvd, the rooms are well soundproofed, and we were never bothered by any noise from traffic or guests. The free breakfasts are superb with hot eggs, meat, waffles, and pancakes. Plus, they have fresh cut-up fruit melons plus strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries which I love to put on my cold cereal. Coffee is available all day, and the hotel staff are very friendly and capable. On this last trip, I had to add on one extra night after making the original reservation for 3 nights. Thus, when we arrived at the hotel, the computer system had assigned to different rooms. The friendly hotel manager immediately rearranged other pending guests' room assignments so we could stay in the same room for 4 nights. Plus, since we are Best Western Platinum members, he upgraded our rooms to the best king suites.

We found the location good for our activities but the hotel is a bit tired. We had a problem with our room that was not resolved before we checked out. Breakfast was mediocre but server was excellent. Would not stay again.

We stayed here on a quick trip for a family wedding. The location was great for visiting family and wedding events. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. For being so close to a major street and freeway, it was very quiet in the room, and wasn't loud even while outside. The bed was comfortable. Normally I have a hard time sleeping in a new location, but not here. Breakfast was what we have come to expect from a Best Western. The food was good and served as a great way to start our day.

I stayed here for 4 nights while in the area for a business trip. I'm picky with hotels. And this place is one of the nicer places I've stayed at. The room was exceptionally clean and the staff was very friendly. It was quiet and comfortable. Whenever I am in the area again I will definitely stay here again.

Great front desk, very clean and serviced rooms, pool and sauna very nice, very good breakfast, ample parking, great location just off the 210 fwy. 25 minutes to downtown Los Angeles, good restaurants near by Pillows were two thick and hard, Bed was hard.

We got a king suite with pull out couch. The king bed had a firm mattress but the pull out couch mattress was uncomfortable. The coffee was good and the breakfast had a wide variety of items to choose from : make your own waffle, oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, hash brown, sausage, cereal. We were disappointed the hot tub was cold and dirty. It would take four hours to heat up.

Well located in Pasadena, hotel is very nice, super clean, room are bigs, bed super comfortable. they have very nice breakfast. Parking is safe, no complaint for this hotel, my wife and I enjoyed a lot our stay

The Best Western Pasadena Royale Inn is in an excellent location. For us this trip was a somber one. We needed to be near to the Pasadena Mortuary. It was a few minutes drive to services and central enough to the malls so we could get any last minute details like a black shirt and tie. Details we could not have packed in advance, all our needs were met easily and close by. It was also very central to family who is spread out across the Los Angeles Basin. We also did get dinner in downtown Pasadena as well as a little night dive down to see Hollywood and other sites. Ideally visiting there under different circumstances would have been a joy. I do want to add that the hot water and shower was excellent! Seems to me a very important component of staying somewhere. I really appreciate when a hotel has the hot water and pressure down! Definitely recommend this place. One minor problem was that if you return late they made us park in the property next door as they for some reason have a bunch of School busses staying- not sure if that is a temporary set up. It only is an issue if you return late and the lot is full.

My husband choose to stay here to avoid traffic and it was good choice I really loved clean big rooms, breakfast was fresh and good I really recommend it , it is quite we did not hear our neighbors The only thing they charged us 100$ like deposit before we arrive to check in , they said it's security deposit It would be nice to be informed from the beginning Communication is the key

This hotel is a 5 star in my book. Eli, Arlena and Erica and EVERYBODY ELSE are some of the nicest people you will ever meet in your life. They treated us like royalty. No exaggeration at all. The absolute BEST hotel in the area BY FAR! :)

The highway noise was so loud, the insect bites so troubling, and the smell in my room was so awful that I checked out after the first night to get a room in another hotel. Based on the photos I thought it would be reasonable to pay $250 for 2 nights. Boy, was I ever wrong. Immediately after entering I was struck by an overpowering smell, a mix of old smoke and disinfectant I think. It was very late so I stayed that night. Once I got into bed, I felt insect bites and got one bite on my leg. I don't understand why this hotel gets away with charging so much for such basic rooms. The bathroom was super basic. The parking lot was full. I got the last spot on the night I was there because the parking spots are so small that cars often occupy more than one spot. People can smoke right under the guest rooms in the parking lot.

This place is in a good location that is easily accessible to restaurants and shopping. The rooms are clean and the grounds are well kept. They offered free parking in a well lit parking lot which I took advantage of. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I highly recommend this location. ( it was just 2 doors down from a car rental place too ... very convenient).

We were looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in Pasadena to celebrate a family member's 100th Birthday. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the rooms although small were clean with new carpeting and furniture. All of the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast area was well stocked and clean. Arlene was awesome as she hustled to make sure we were taken care of. Small lobby area but big enough for us to sit and visit.

The is a great place. The property in near easy access to the freeway. Rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast offered a variety of quick options along with good coffee. All of the staff we interacted with on the property were very pleasant.

Absolutely wonderful service from check in to check out .. considering it is an older hotel, could not have asked for more..clean, quiet..perfect location for travel to the Rose Parade..yes the price was inflated due to the proximity of the Rose Parade but it was well worth the time saved to get to the Parade Kudos to Arlene ..breakfast Master.. great food selection started at 4:30 am to accommodate parade goers..lots of great hot and cold food choices..no chaos..well managed..

We stayed 4 days over New Years weekend for the parade, Rose Bowl game and local sites. The room was very clean and well equipped. All reservations were correct and check in was seamless. All of the hotel staff were friendly, professional and attentive. A special shout out to Eli, Eric and Arlene for exceptional service. I have stayed at many hotels with work travel and family trips, the last time I could recall three hotel staff names for exceptional service was never. This place is well kept with ample parking and staff the like what they do. Go visit, and be happy.

Don't believe what the staff tells you as it relates to your questions about the hotel especially about check in and when they will charge your account etc. Rooms are okay but overpriced. One night also took me 30 minutes before anyone answered in office to leave wake up call.

I have arrived late at night time, clerk was giving me hard time at checking. telling me that I need to have my business address same as my driver license address. requesting that I cannot pay with western rewards points.

Hotel stay was great. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful. They even gave us suggestions of where to go and maps to help us. We enjoyed the hot tub. The cleaning staff was great and very helpful.

Clean room. Asked not to have linen changed but they went ahead anyway. Plastic cover over smoke detector. Only noticed on the day we checked out. Very dangerous. Should have been noticed by staff. Only one small bar of soap left in bathroom after cleaning the first day. Front Window could not be opened from inside.. Also potentially dangerous. Arlene in the breakfast area was very helpful and friendly.

We stayed two times recently. Very friendly staff. The room is very clean. They provide a separate living room with tv as well as a bedroom with tv. The TV in the living room kept turning off while we were watching it. The man at the front desk came up but couldn't fix it so we watched the other TV. We had the same problem when we stayed the previous time at this hotel. Otherwise everything was very clean. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had at any Best Western. It included pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs and omelettes that all appeared to be fresh. There was fresh melon, really fresh hash browns, and numerous other cereals and bread items. The breakfast attendant was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel room was clean, the pool was fun for the kids. The breakfast consisted of omeletes, bacon, hashbrowns, fruit, waffles a great start to the day. Also Arlene provided excellent customer service! We had a great stay!

rooms were nice and clean. water pressure was a little light for my liking, but they always are. shower stayed hot for a long time. breakfast was pretty decent, a solid 7/10. staff was very pleasant and professional.

Good value, lots of upgrades, good breakfast and very helpful and amiable staff. Comfy bed and good location. Just wish the pool was heated, 'tho there is a hot tub/spa there. Decor of new lobby is lovely.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the BW Pasadena Royal Inn and Suites at the end of a 2 weeks holiday in southern California and the Grand Canyon. The hotel was a perfect base for exploring downtown LA, Hollywood, the old town of Pasadena by the Metro light railway system without using our car as well as the close by Huntington library and gardens in San Marino (by Car). The room was very comfortably furnished. Some minor plumbing issue in the bath was immediately resolved by the very helpful staff. Even though fully booked the hotel was quiet. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was very clean and tidy..

We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Rose Bowl. Great experience and hearty breakfast that gave us energy for a full day of shopping! We were able to take a yogurt and banana for later in the day.

Pretty good hotel services at good quiet location with clean rooms and plenty of parking space in this area (Pasadena) of Los Angeles. It is reasonably priced compared to others in the vecinity. Breakfast inlcuded with room rate is sufficient and varied. Hotel personnel are helpful and serviceable oriented. Not much space in the lobby to relax and no bar service, but that is not important if you are out all day in LA for business or pleasure.

They served a nice hot breakfast each morning. The room was Clean and nice looking. There was Free parking in a safe lot. Wifi was free and easy to use. There was a large fridge in the room that held lots of our treats and snacks. There was a good sized microwave and a coffee maker. The bathroom had a hairdryer and nice, modern sink, shower, toilet and tub.

The hotel is clean and safe. The hotel was remolded and whoever was hired to do the construction must have been very in expensive you can hear your neighbor cough, walk, and flush their toilet. The bed is hard and the walls are very thin and air conditioner is so loud.

This was a perfect hotel for a good getaway with your loved one, me and my fiancé had a blast with swimming and good food around the area and the welcoming staff. Felt comfortable and didn't have an oz of stress at all.

The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast changed daily , but always fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and muffins.It is an easy drive to a variety of restaurants and Universal Stuidios.

It's an older motel with a typical layout from the 70s from the outside it looks like My Name is Earl. Inside the rooms have been updated but maybe not to the highest quality as my vanity light was hanging by its wires. The room was very clean and usually pretty quiet. I thought it was good value for the money for Pasadena.

We had a great time. The service and staff were very friendly. I would stay here again, It was a nice getaway. Anniversary well deserved. The bed was comfortable, wish I would have booked another night.

Seriously the best continental breakfast I've ever experienced. Available from 6 - 10 am and such a wide variety of things to choose from. This hotel is small (so parking lot is small too). Upside of this is you never have to walk very far. The property and rooms were very clean and staff was extremely accommodating and professional. No gym at this hotel, but there was free WiFi and a small pool and spa. The suite we stayed in had several amenities, including 2 tvs, a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, air conditioning, and hair dryer.

Friendly, curteous front desk staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Smokers get a decent covered area to light up. The comp breakfast is a great way to start the day. This is our go-to place when we go to Santa Anita Race Track.

Clean nonsmoking rooms that for once, didn't smell like cigarettes. Several restaurants in the area. A Mercado located 2 doors down. Huntington library is a quick 3 miles away. Rose Bowl Stadium is six miles away with a 10 min. drive. Santa Monica Pier is the closest beach at 34 miles, with a 45 min drive. Hotel's breakfast has a wide variety to choose from,there was always an old TMC movie on, which was fun for guests to banter about. The pool and hot tub were enjoyable after our long days of walking. The a/c in our room worked perfectly, but our in laws felt the a/c in their room didn't keep the room cool. The staff was Very courteous and helpful. If you prefer valet, and turn down service, then this is not be for you, otherwise this was a perfectly fine stay.

This Hotel will be lucky if they aren't facing a lawsuit in the near future, from hotel guests who have been charged a fraudulent deposit amount for smoking, even though they are non-smokers. I booked a room here on line and when I arrived to check in, front desk staff and supervisor were rude, deceitful and unprofessional, in my opinion. First, they asked if I wanted a smoking or non smoking room, I said it didn't matter. Then the young man said " Well all the rooms are non smoking." I said that's great, because I hate the way smoking rooms smell anyway. Then he told me it would be a $150 deposit. The suite I had rented was $178 and I also paid $100 in cash and they charged my card $278 anyway. When I went to sign the check in slip the paper stated a $100 deposit was charged. I asked about this discrepancy and I was told that it was a new policy and the paperwork had not been updated yet. I crossed out the wrong deposit amount of $100 and wrote in $150, although I was unaware that they had actually charged me $200 for deposit. I got the room key, room 216, and went next door to meet some friends for lunch. When I returned to the hotel to unpack and go to the room, front desk supervisor, Ely, comes flagging me down in the parking lot and tells me they changed their mind and were not going to rent to me. He said someone saw someone smoking in their car in the parking lot and that smoker's don't care about obeying the rules and would smoke in the room anyway. Smokers are rude and disrespectful. I was forced to check out. I pointed out the sign that said there are designated smoking areas outside, where someone was observed smoking. Ely said there were no designated areas. The sign is misleading. I felt he was discriminating. He told me the hotel would refund my money, which I have still not received a reversal on my credit card for the $278 they authorized without my knowledge or consent. They did return the $100 bill, but I was still put out and had to find replacement hotel on short notice and my credit card was not available with the charge still posted from Best Western. I was insulted and humiliated. When I asked to speak to the manager, Ely told me he was the only manager available. I have been told that same thing each time I have called requesting the manager also. It is my opinion that I am not the only guest who has been charged a deposit and the hotel has literally stolen it with false claims of smoking or lying about the amount they are charging the guests credit card, while having the guest sign a copy with a false amount stated then actually charged.

The hotel is located on a short section of the Route 66. Was a nice area of Pasadena and clean surroundings. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are clean and inviting and I would stay again. Front desk staff friendly & helpful as well as the kitchen staff. The full breakfast was presented well and was nice to have more than waffles. We would stay again for sure.

Our room was large, clean, nicely decorated and surprisingly quiet considering the location on a busy street. It was toward the back of the property. Rooms on the busy street would have more traffic noise. Parking was plentiful and secure, overseen by several video cameras which front desk staff watched. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not use the smallish outdoor pool, but it looked appealing. The breakfast was especially good, with fresh fruit and several hot items. An attendant cheerfully helped customers and encouraged them to have more. There seemed to be some regular business customers as well as tourists like us. A very pleasant stay in Pasadena.

Most everything was fine until we went to check out and the outside lights were not working. Very scary and unsafe. Beds were fine but on the soft side. The the breakfast was really nice. Staff was friendly up until checkout.

room staff and service was ok air conditioner in room was loud and had only one fan speed and the on site maintenance could not fix the problem. the room was ok but the fold out bed was uncomfortable. break fast was average but the server was very helpful.

We booked a 2 night stay at the Best Western Pasadena Royale Inn and Suites on Hotels.com and received a written confirmation. We checked into the hotel and our credit card was charged for the two night stay, we received a parking pass for two nights, and our key was enabled for two nights. The next day we were at a museum several miles away from the hotel when we received a call that we had to come back to the hotel and remove our luggage because the room was only available for one night. We spent much of the day driving back to the hotel, repacking and removing our luggage, and then searching for another hotel. They refunded the amount we had paid for the second night, but this didn't come close to reimbursing us for losing a day of our vacation and having to pay much more to find a replacement room for the night. The desk clerk said that the manager would call us that afternoon, but we never received a call. My recommendation is NOT TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL.

The staff is friendly and professional, the rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed, the continental breakfast outstanding and the owner is constantly striving to improve the appearance and quality of this hotel.

Comfortable, clean, safe, great breakfast, wonderful staff. Parking spots are small so if you have a truck parking is difficult. Great Mexican restaurant across the street. You have to go eat there. We will be back

I stay in this hotel regularly, as I have frequent business trips to Pasadena. I've found the quality of the hotel (room, bed, amenities, breakfast) excellent in its category. The staff is outstanding and helpful.

Excellent courteous service, cheerful breakfast staff and a convenient location close to public transportation, especially the LA Gold Line. Their rates are reasonable. Two car rentals are very close by.

Excellent service but slightly high price. I don't know this hotel have back parking spaces or not but it seems front parking spaces are adequate to me. My room had ample space and nice chair. TV had a lot of channels. Very close to freeway and gas station (turn right when you get out then you will on right hand side).

Was easy access to Dosger Stadium Warner Brother Studios, Univerisal Studios, Griffith Park and Hollywood sign. The rooms are very nice as we have traveled down from San Frnanciaco and experienced good and bad rooms. Best of all the places we stayed. Would stay again. Nice area. OLd Pasadena close by for shops and restaurants

Eric and Jesus, the front desk representatives were very helpful at all times. Newspapers / coffee / juices were available at reception free. We had two bookings for separate nights and manager consolidated them into the one so we could stay in the same room without hassle. He was very very helpful at all times. Breakfast was help your self, everything available, very good quality, very friendly staff - Arlene went out of her way to ensure everybody was happy in the dining room and wanted for nothing. If visiting the Los Angeles area I'd strongly recommend staying in this hotel.

This hotel is in a convenient location for access to the freeway and to many of the attractions in/near Pasadena (Huntington Library, Santa Anita racetrack). The rooms were clean and the suite we were in was spacious with TVs, a microwave, and refrigerator. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast here includes much more than the basics - like whipped cream and powdered sugar for waffles, hot sauce packets for eggs, and all the machines (waffle irons, pancake machine, and toaster) all worked perfectly. A friendly attendant was always there to re-stock and help with the machines. Unfortunately, I never had the time to take a dip in the pool. Perhaps the next time.

just went out for a night. club we went to was 4 blocks away. good location with lots of stores and places to eat.the pool looked clean,wanted to use it but went out to lunch instead. the breakfast was good, had hot food that was fresh.

In order to attend a funeral, had to get quick room in Pasadena. Called hotel and was not treated very professionally but went ahead and reserved their last room. Check-in lady also not very professional. The room (suite) was quite nice and well appointed with Wi-Fi adequate air conditioning and space. Parking is a mess, spots far too small for my mini-van or my son in law's Suburban (he and family were there as well which is why I made my reservation). Breakfast aok, room very small and crowded but the lady in charge was very nice and did great job. Overall was adequate but staff needs training and become customer oriented.

This was an enjoyable stay. All went well with the business that had to be taken care of while I was in the big City of Los Angeles. It was a very hot day and upon my arrival the room was cool because the air conditioner was running, that made it very pleasant to arrive in a cool room so I could relax after the long drive. I give this Best Western a five plus.

Hotel was good. But had issues at check in. We made reservations and requested a roll away bed. It was not in room when we checked in. Was told that they couldn't leave the desk to get one and nobody else was on staff at night to get one. My kid had to sleep on the floor. Was told it would be there the next day we stayed 4nights. We left to about our day came back and no bed. I had to argue to get one.

Bed was hard, but room was comfortable. Check in was easy since I prepaid. Location was good, especially since LA is a rough place. Easy access to Universal City, was able to get to Universal Studios quickly.

The most respectful and helpful employees. We've gone two years in a row and will go back again. Very clean rooms. Free breakfast is wonderful and kept very clean and supplied. Parking is free but spaces are really small.

We stayed at this location believing it would be great location to visit our family in Burbank area. The hotel disappointed us with uncleanliness as well as aged property which needs a lot of refurbishment to its rooms to make it at par with newer Holiday Inn express.

This property appears to have been recently renovated and is in excellent condition. The room was roomy, clean and comfortable. Internet was excellent, cooling adequate, although the vent does blow directly on the bed, which can be uncomfortable when sleeping. Shower very nice and clean. We experienced a slight problem with the low flow toilet, it didn't do well when flushing solids. Our overall experience was excellent. Breakfast was great, varied menu each day, fresh fruit, eggs, omelets, breakfast burritos, turkey sausage and turkey bacon. Arlene (the breakfast lady) does a great job keeping everything stocked and clean.

We were upgraded to a suite, which was wonderful. The staff truly take pride in their service--from the front desk to the breakfast area to the housekeepers. I would definitely stay here again or recommend it to my friends, family, and colleagues. I found the best rate for this hotel through Tripadvisor.

Will stay again! Located off freeway but not too close. Grounds were clean, room was suite and very clean. Conveniently located in Pasadena, not too far drive to Studio City or Hollywood. Was here for business but would bring family. Pool not very big but served purpose for hottest week in California.

This hotel has been upgraded but also have the price of the stay. It was always a sure bet for value but now is in the league of other nearby hotels so you may want to shop around for the best value. The rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds. The rate does include free parking, internet as well as breakfast. The breakfast is more than adequate with a friendly hostess who welcomes you each morning. Quick access to the 210 is a plus.

We stayed a total of 10 days at the Best Western Royale Inn & Suites in Pasadena, California and it was such a wonderful place to stay. Our room was clean and the King size bed was extremely comfortable. The staff there was amazing. Arlene was such a delight during breakfast - she will take care of you. Ms. Erica, at the front desk, provided us some really tasty nearby eateries. Excellent customer service all around. Will stay there again when we return to LA.

It did not look like the toilet seat was cleaned when I got to my hotel room. there was a pubic hair on the toilet seat and i could tell it had not been cleaned. Luckily I carry a pack of clorox wipes when I travel. I cleaned it thoroughly myself, as there were no other rooms available in the hotel.

This is a classic example of why Best Western Hotels are a great choice. Much more affordable than the high end hotels in the area, yet Best Western provides great value. The room and lobby were clean, there was covered parking, and the staff was very friendly.

This hotel is a great place to stay away from home. I found it to be extremely clean and the staff is extremely helpful and courteous. The staff is very professional and always willing to do whatever they can to make your stay great.

We've just stayed in this Best Western for three nights. At the time of booking it was one of the best deals in Pasadena. The hotel is located in a quiet area on Colorado Boulevard, just 10 min drive from Old Pasadena. The room was spacious (due to overbooking, they gave us a double queen instead of the king we booked, but it was ok for us) and clean, maybe just a little bit dark. Wi-fi worked well and breakfast was included in the rate.

I loved the beds the showers and the TV's everything about this place is great and the price was very fair and the best "hotel" breakfast I have ever had! the front desk was attentive and the breakfast attendant actually was in the area to help if needed even nice thick towels and washcloths lots of clean fluffy pillows on my bed and every thing was fresh smelling no "musty room" here I'll be coming back here again I come to this city several ties a year and this is going to be my home away from home.

Staff was very disappointing... Did not help or seem to care to help except for Aileen in breakfast area. Towels were not replaced after cleaning room. Eye shadow pieces I dropped in the AM were still there telling me they did not clean the floor. Empty kleenex box not replaced until I asked. Talked with front desk about these issues and the young man didn't seem to care. I will stay at the BW next door from now on.

Good place to crash for the weekend if visiting out of town. The breakfast is nothing to brag about though. Bring your own pillow if you like soft pillows. The parking spaces are meant for tiny vehicles. Either than that its all good.

Cleanliness of rooms above average. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good, and quiet, location about 5 miles from downtown Pasadena. Easy access to 210 freeway. Not far from the Huntington Library. Wide variety of foods available at the complimentary breakfast including fresh fruits that would not even be offered at the average cafe. Very good value for the amount of money I paid.

I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean and large, the staff treats you very well, excellent breakfast experience with several choices-in fact the best breakfast we have ever experienced, and relatively quiet location in Pasadena.

Wow. I can't think of anything I would change. Friendly staff, impeccably clean, spacious suites, free parking, free internet, free breakfast (those cost $50+ at other hotels). Not in the "heart" of Pasadena, but only a 5-10 minute drive away. Love this place.

Strangely, this Best Western motel is located right next to a Best Western motel (the Pasadena Inn). We stayed there three night and on two of those nights we had really noisy neighbors: a family with younger kids stayed up to 1 am; and, a couple of men "entertaining" til all hours. We called about the men twice and they finally quieted down around 2 am. Friendly staff. Usual room arrangements.

I booked this reservation through Hotwire, lured in by the teaser: "The last person got the Holiday Inn Express!" Too bad I wasn't the last person. Let me start by saying that the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. And let me acknowledge that, when booking through Hotwire, one risks getting assigned "that room" that nobody else wants. That's just what happened to me. An outdated, run-down, over-crowded, ugly room in poor repair, originally intended to be a handicap-accessible room, there's not a wheelchair this side of the Mississippi would fit through this room. Single-glazed windows provide zero noise dampening. Ugly bathroom fixtures. Ceiling, walls, and floors in serious need of repair/replacement. And then I read an earlier reviewer's post about bed-bugs. This did not help me sleep in heavenly peace. The only "redeeming" quality about this room was the Gideon's Bible in the drawer. Take my advice! Don't book this hotel on a pre-pay site, and don't check in until you've seen the actual room you'd be assigned to. I'm sure some of the rooms have been updated, but I sure wouldn't risk it again.

Very good location for those wishing to visit the Huntington gardens and museum as well as the superb Los Angeles Arboratum in Arcadia. Highway 210 is nearby but traffic noise does not penetrate the rooms. Upgraded motel hiding its age. Great for a couple of nights.

Everything was as good as expected! We come here twice a year, and have been doing so for 8 years. Always upgrading the place. Laundry facility is a big plus. Wish they had an exercise room. Convenient to shopping and dining.

This seemed like a perfectly fine place to spend a night until I was up late working and saw a little critter crawl across the bed. It was a bed bug. I did manage to photograph and trap him under a cup and name him Bartolo (after a scruffy character in The Barber of Seville). I immediately called the front desk, whose appropriate but routine-sounding offer to refund my money was a little disturbing. I asked if they had any partnerships with other local hotels where I could stay...no. I fled to the Courtyard Marriott, who was gracious enough to give me a bit of a discount since it was now 4am. Since I was on the road and had no way to clean my belongings, I had to toss anything I feared might be contaminated. I also developed 4 large welts on my back (eew) where I was bitten. Refunding my money isn't enough; you must take care of this problem!

Very clean rooms and exterior property. Staff really friendly and helpful. Pillows a little hard, but that is just my preference. Bathroom spotless. Breakfast good and free. Lady running breakfast seems to enjoy her job and was always happy to see you. Free parking. A very pleasant stay and a great value for the dollar.

Counter staff (Jose) are friendly and supportive asking questions and showing interest in your reason for visit. The room was nothing to be wowed by - was a little outdated with blinds that over the heater and a weird smell in the room. Can't complain for the price relative to other hotels on our trip so far. Included breakfast was great. Arlene is running a great thing there and is ever so friendly. The staff get you a 4 where everything else brings it to a 3.

We chose the hotel because of its proximity to Santa Anita Race Track and that it is clean, comfortable and professionally maintained and it satisfied our needs and desires.I have nothing further to say and am building resentment that I have participated in your survey and now you are hassling me about the number of words I have written.

Went there for our anniversary and for going to the breeders cup horse races. We were "upgraded" to a suite... for almost $400 for the night (for the standard room), I expected clean... finished and more than what we got.... especially when we were "upgraded". The bathroom was disgusting... the tile and caulking were in major disrepair. The TV remotes did not work, the coffee pot was not working. I am a Best Western regular....this room was of far less quality than for what we normally pay about $110 a night for a room near Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. So disappointed

Wonderful experience at Best Western Pasadena Royale - everything from the reservation by phone, great convenient location, safe inner courtyard parking, ease of checking in, lovely room, very nice full hot breakfast included with self-service as well as friendly personalized assistance from Arlene, to the smooth checking out - all a very positive experience at a reasonable price - thanks to manager Eric and a helpful staff. The elevator & luggage cart near parking made carrying luggage to our 2nd floor room much easier. Overall - happy to recommend this good experience & value to others.

We changed our choice of hotel at the last minute when we discovered that our original destination was going to charge us $40 a night to park our car Luckily the Best Western was more than adequate with hard working, helpful staff and rooms that were clean and comfortable. Eric on the front desk was especially helpful when I needed help to book a day trip and Arlene at breakfast was particularly helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel back in 2014 when we moved our daughter to Pasadena. We were very satisfied with that stay so when we went to visit her this October, we booked it again for 10 days. When we arrived they upgraded us to a suite, no extra charge. Very impressed with the staff here. There are all very friendly. Have to give a shout out to Arlene, who ran the breakfast area. She always greeted us with a "good morning" and a smile. They have a very good breakfast selection, with cereal, fruit, eggs, hash browns, make your own waffles and pancakes, bagels and such. Our room was very clean and updated. Bed was comfortable. It's not the most quiet hotel, as far as wall insulation for noise, but it was bearable. Parking is on site, but kind of tight if you get in late. Well, it could be better if guests would know how to park and not take up more than one space. Price was very reasonable, under $100.00/night. Overall, a good place to stay.

I was skeptical when this hotel was booked for us but it turned out ok. It was a great price for Pasadena, although it's located on the outskirts. The neighborhood is commercial but not that sketchy. There are good restaurants a couple of miles back toward Pasadena and many to choose from in the old town. I liked that there is an LA Fitness less than a mile away. The free breakfast was ok, with the usual budget choices.

Best Western Pasadena Royale has great location. 2 room suite nicely decorated for comfort, free coffee, specious and bright. Friendly staff. Unfortunately Mr. Harry Monga General Manager sadly refuses to acknowledge that he has a bug problem. He told me that he has no bugs..I will have to find another place to stay....

Love staying at this Best Western. Excellent place to stay. Excellent quality for the money! They really look out for their customers and try to help them in every way. We've stayed here for years and find that it is the best place to stay in Pasadena.

A very good property which seems to have been renovated. I appreciate the microwave, fridge, decent desk and good bathroom. Quiet relative to traffic. A/C new and quiet relative to some mid-priced hotels--but could be better. (This is a real problem and a real opportunity for the BW brand!) Beds were great! Good choice of furnishings and a good sized room.

Experience with staff was so miserable, it's hard to believe it's a Best Western. When I checked in with my wife and son, the front desk person said that I had to pay $10 extra per person, as my reservation only had one person on it. I said that was surprising because it didn't say that in the app; because that's a policy more associated with a one-star flophouse than a three-star chain; and because who would check in one person to a room with two queen beds? He told me that I was free to "stay somewhere else." I found his sudden, inexplicable hostility to be so far beyond my experience and decorum, yet I looked on the app to confirm. I discovered that they had so much extra inventory that the $125 room that I had booked was now only $34! So I asked about his cancellation policy, and he said, "you're free to cancel, but we're keeping your money." As crazy and rude as that was, it was to get stranger. That night, I decided to stay at a friend's and my wife and son stayed there. The next day, I stopped by to take my son to lunch. I went in the room, and a few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. It was housekeeping. The woman asked me, "Did you take my Windex?" I was flummoxed. What? "Did you steal my Windex?" I assured her that I did not, and she gave me a side-eyes look. The room wasn't bad at all. My wife said the breakfast was good. And if you reserve the same day, you may get it for $34 - which is about on par for the treatment you're likely to receive. But I'm kindof surprised that a Best Western had employees that were that hot-tempered and obnoxious.

The hotel worked good for me, within company budget. Nothing fancy, but it was clean. I went to the continental breakfast only 1 time during my visit, very disappointing. Liquid coffee machine, stale dry bagels, rotten banana's, but I'm not sure who would book a hotel based mostly on the breakfast.

Was in town for four days visiting family and friends. Good central location. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The suite was comfortable. I had to work on my laptop for about 8-10 hours a day to get an important project done. Having a nice desk in a separate room with strong wifi was great. I'd definitely stay here again.

I normally have good experiences with BW hotels. This one was terrible. Prices quoted were not ones billed; no receipt given at checkout; still haggling over an extra deposit charged. Do not stay here.

We have been to this place multiple times and this is the first time after their rooms being renovated. The location is good unless you really want to be very close to downtown. There is Wholesfoods, Ralph's, Starbucks, Einstein Bagel, ... 3 minutes away. Very nice staff. Jose at front desk is very polite and helpful. Arlene in the breakfast area is very kind and helpful as well. Decent basic breakfast for the price you pay. The breakfast area is very small though. You'll have free wifi and good TV channels. Rooms are clean. I would recommend it and will go back again.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The breakfast was a full buffet and the food was so good. Eggs, waffles, pancakes, cereal, milk, fresh fruit, coffee and juice, toast and muffins, etc. The nice lady who works the breakfast buffet is sweet as can be and easier to help out as much as she can. Make sure you tip her! She deserves it. The employees were so nice and helpful and polite as can be. The hotel is so clean and the maids do a excellent job of keeping the place pristine. Warning though, you might not have your room clean until after 4 PM. The front desk will call you around four to make sure that you want your room cleaned, if you are still there and haven't had your room cleaned yet. The pool is nice and warm. There is a hot tub, as well, which is so nice. Everything is just so clean and wonderful. There are lounge chairs by the pool and towels are available at the front desk. This hotel has three floors and an elevator. We were on the third floor, away from the street so it was very quiet. The ice machine is located on the ground floor by the parking lot. It is easy to access. There are also vending machines. Lastly, in the front lobby, there is a computer with a printer in case you need to print boarding passes or tickets or anything. There are also a bunch of brochures that you can grab for tourist sites. This place is wonderful and we will be returning when we come back to California in a few years.

We found the accomadations excellent. New to the area we were a little taken back with 3 massage parlors staring at us from the office. Hotel is Excellent. Desk Staff, Benjam & Ignacio went out of there way to see that every thing was to your likingl. Room was excellent suite and the price was GREAT. Arlene, at breakfast, which was better than I might have received a resturant, was helpful and greeted guest with a smile for us early risers. This will be my regular half-way stop betten my regular trips from home to Northern CA.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very pleasant. Arlene in Breakfast service was wonderful and attentive to customer needs. Will stay there if we are down in the Pasadena area again. We went to Chelsea game at Rose Bowl and found this to be a convenient location.

Nice, clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Very affordable. Good breakfast, guest laundry and nice, clean pool. Would stay here again if ever in the area. Parking spots are tight, we were driving a medium size car.

I "checked" in July 14 about 3:30pm. Was told their computer system was down & they would need to take a picture of my driver's license & credit card & when system came back up they would then call me to come really "check in" Needless to say I was skeptical. I was assigned room 205. Got there & maid said it's dirty but just cleaned room 206. She called front desk to tell them the same. Went back & got key cards for 206. Go forward to 7pm when I returned from dinner with a friend,went to front desk & asked if system was back up. No said a new front desk person. Was very tired..fast asleep at 9pm. Hotel room phone rings at midnite. I answered very sleepy & was asked who I was & why was I in room 206. Explained earlier maid situation. No apology,just hung up.Obviously records were not corrected that I was in 206 not 205. I am totally shocked at the desk clerks incompetence...both of them!! When I checked out the next am only got an apology. I think I deserve the 24,000 points I used to stay in the wrong room. GRRRRRRR????...

Service was excellent. Very attentive & friendly staff at check in and breakfast. Unfortunately, sound carries between floors and the HVAC system was noisy. Otherwise, good basic accommodation at a fair price. Go for 3rd floor if possible - no one above you then.

Two night stay with the family, we had two rooms. One king suite and another 2 queen bed. Rooms are nicely updated and quiet. We experienced no problems even though this is an extremely busy hotel. On the main drag in Pasadena, I was surprised how quiet it was. Parking is awful here, though. I almost didn't have a spot when I arrived after my family late at night. Parking is inside the property, surrounded by the hotel and a wall, does that make sense? Its the same parking situation down at the HI Express too, where we stayed last summer. But this is California, there isn't parking anywhere. Breakfast is very, very good. Nice lobby and eating area. Staff was great. No real complaints.

We were checked in quickly by very friendly, helpful staff. Our spacious room was very clean. Bed was most comfortable. The shower was strong pressure and very hot. WiFi worked great. There was lots of parking - they gave us a pass to display. Breakfast was very good with a busy attentive attendant. There was a huge range of choices and all we had was fresh and tasted good. I will stay here again for sure.

Can hardly ever go wrong with a Best Western property and this property was no exception to the brand. Been staying at BW for over 30 years and most everyone has been excellent. The standard that BW has maintained and continues to improve their properties.

The suites are roomy and great for late night work. The view outside is beautiful. Wonderful amenities make it nice and cozy. Covered parking is available. There is a wonderful selection for breakfast. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

We found the staff exceptionally accommodating; we did have one unpredictable plumbing issue and it was addressed professionally; the staff went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the result. Thank you!

AVOID THIS HOTEL. The reviews are misleading and the part of town it's in isn't all that great. We were told the rooms were "updated" but there were dents and holes in the wall, the bed was remarkably uncomfortable, the tub was stained, some of the furniture was broken and the trim needed paint. NOT worth the money they're charging. This is a $60/night hotel, not a $100+/night. We let the hotel know we weren't happy with the room and tried to cancel our 2nd night but they refused to refund us.

We stayed two nights here and were told we were upgraded to a suite. The first time we went to the room, our room key cards didn't work and I had to go back downstairs to get them fixed. The lobby staff was apologetic about it and it worked fine the second time. The room itself was spacious, but parking spaces are really tight. Parking in between the lines can be a bit challenging. At least it's an easy to access location, so it was still alright. One weird thing is how wrinkly the sheets are upon check in. Usually sheets are super crisp before use, but not here - maybe they don't use starch? We left one morning before 8am and came back about noon. Even though we put out the sign for room cleaning, and we saw that the staff had taken away the towels from the bathroom, the bed was still not made and the bathroom was not cleaned. We asked the maid whom was making up a room down the hall if we could have replacement towels, and she asked us if we still wanted the room cleaned, but when we asked when that could happen, she said after lunch. Although we got fresh towels from this woman, I don't know if she was the one who was supposed to make up our room or if someone else was supposed to. The system for cleaning here just seems a bit odd. The breakfast has a pretty good selection. Tables here are also a bit cramped, but you do get a variety of items - yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pre-made omelette like eggs, make it yourself waffles and pancakes, fruit, and bread. If it weren't for the lack of cleaning, I would give this stay 4 stars.

It was very apparent that the staff were trying to meet our needs and were very generous with their ability to do so. We stayed in a suite with two rooms, a king sized bed in the "bedroom" and a sleeper sofa in the "living room." We also needed a roll away for an additional granddaughter. We were very happy with the accommodations and the way the cleaning staff took care of our rooms while we were out and about during the day. The breakfast was phenomenal. It was close to many choices for restaurants (within a five-minute drive). I felt safe taking a walk in the adjoining neighborhood.

I visit family and friends in Pasadena/Los Angeles about once a year. I have been using this hotel for about 7 or more years. I usually get a junior or one-bedroom suite. This hotel is quiet, clean, conveniently located and my hotel of choice when I visit this area. It is currently undergoing renovations -- which I did not feel that it really needed. The breakfast is very, very good and I also enjoy their small swimming pool and hot tub. The staff are all very nice, professional and go out of their way to ensure that their guests are happy.

Hotel was very clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great! The woman who oversaw breakfast couldn't have been more helpful. She kept everything well stocked, answered any questions you had and checked in with you periodically to see if you needed anything. Hotel is centrally located to a lot of LA sights. The only issue we had was difficulty parking. The lot wasn't very large and was made smaller by items being stored in parking area and guests' cars being parked incorrectly. Otherwise - all good. We'd stay again for sure!

My son and I just needed a quick, overnight stay as we were meeting a group at JPL and CalTech the next morning. We arrived at 8:00pm and we were quickly checked in. Although there are renovations going on to the outside of the hotel (painting, etc.) our room had already been renovated and was very clean and nice looking. We were facing the street, but it was a very quiet evening and the beds were very comfortable. One reason I chose this hotel (besides location) was for the breakfast options. I am very health conscious and was able to find fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, whole wheat toast, etc. My son enjoyed the waffles. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. I would stay at this hotel again if I was in the area.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Our room was very roomy, clean and quiet. The Staff was great and friendly along with fabulous Customer Service. Breakfast every morning and free WiFi was great. I would recommend this Best Western to anyone who stays in the Pasadena, Ca. area.

We actually moved from another Pasadena hotel to the Best Western because we were very unhappy. It was a very good move. The staff at this Best Western was very attentive, and the room was clean and modern, the breakfast was outstanding not only because of the great selection of food but the friendly attendant was very helpful. We'll be back to for sure.

The good - is price, clean, parking, and the people are very nice. Same experience for their sister hotel on the next block. It's not a walking around neighbor hood but very short drive to downtown - Wholefoods and coffee places. The worst part is the deluge of emails you get even if you ask not to get them

Very pleasantly surprised by quality of the hotel and staff, though it generally got very good internet reviews. As many noted, parking is not large car friendly and it's difficult to align even small cars in the narrow parking spaces. The hotel borders the street, but the noise was minimal and did not affect getting a good night's sleep in our downstairs room. There's easy freeway access and lots of shopping near by for traveler essentials; including Sprouts, Trader Joes, Sears, Orchard Supply, and Wells Fargo Bank.

Small but comfortable. Staff was friendly. Room was relatively quiet considering the nearness to a busy street and freeway. Parking lot was easy to get in and out of if you use the sidestreet entrance. Close of lots of places to eat. Saved me a lot of commute time to LA. Breakfast was good. Food was fresh and lots to choose from. Rooms have small fridge and microwave. Recommended for travelers to LA.

We needed a hotel in Pasadena for a 5 day stay. This hotel had a comfortable bed, a clean room, a shower with decent water pressure, wifi that worked, and a large television. The hotel was quiet and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were pleased with their variety of types of food for a hot breakfast. We will keep this hotel in mind when we need a place again to stay. The one negative point would be that the hallways need a new facelift.

Althought this location is being renovated if is far from being updated. Never have I stayed in a hotel/motel of this calibre where you were given vouchers for breakfast., then when you arrive for breakfast the chief person collection the vouchers stands there and hovers over you. But the worst part is all of the WORKERS came right in pushed into lines filled their plates to overflowing and leave, then come back and do it again. Your customers are still waiting to receive food that is hot. The fresh hot food is all taken by the workers. Asked about ICE go to the back behind all the old furniture stacked up as storage and there is no ice, it is dry....Who took that, workers??? very poor management......

Excellent hotel and staff. The best do it yourself breakfast bar I have ever been to ! The hotel was central to everywhere we were going over the weekend. Arlene, the attendant at the food bar was really on her game. kept it running like a clock ! Very good experience overall.

The staff was very friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Nice continental breakfast area with good choices. The exterior of the facility is quite old and worn looking, but the rooms are updated and clean. We liked the bathroom which was spacious, clean, and modern. We needed two beds and could only get the king suite, consisting of one king and a pull out sofa. The king bed was rather firm but adequate. The pull out sofa bed was unfortunately the worst I have ever seen. The "mattress" literally was springs covered by a thin fabric. Not a sliver of padding. I needed to ask for extra blankets to pad it up a bit. This put a damper on our stay as we needed to use that bed.

First the good. The continental breakfast had a good variety of chooses from yogurt and fruit to sausage and eggs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has been recently remodeled thus having nice up to date furnishings in the rooms and the lobby. Also the store next door has a deli with great tacos! Now the bad. Although newly remodeled, the bones do not seem to be upgraded. First the toilet backs up ( on going problem the staff says), then the bath exhaust fan breaks (they are old), then the TV stops working (not a regular problem). The staff was quick to fix our issues when we called but seems after a remodel these types of issues should not be occurring.

The employees at the front desk and breakfast area were very friendly. There was a fairly nice variety for a self serve breakfast. The room accommodations were fine, just could use a little updating in the shower and sink areas. I would have no issue to stay there again.

I was pleasantly surprised by my overnight at the Best Western Pasadena Royale. Our room was a suite with two rooms and two TVs. It was very spacious and could have easily fit a family because the ante room likely had a sofa bed (but we didn't check). It was noticeably quieter than any other hotel where I've stayed in the past six nights. It's also within walking distance to the Metro. It's a nice touch that the hot tub and pool are open all night.

Newly remodeled rooms. People were very nice. Rooms basic. Chose this motel because of location to our son"s home. It was fine for what we needed it for a place to stay on our visit from Florida to California.

The room was perfect! It was comfortable and well decorated. When you are thinking about booking this place, subtract the cost of what you would normally pay for breakfast somewhere else from the cost of the room. You will quickly see that it is a bargain.The breakfast is an ACTUAL breakfast, not just coffee and a wrapped pastry. There are eggs, bagels, yogurt, sausage, hash browns, a variety of juices, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, cereal and of course coffee and those wrapped pastries. I like that everyone in my family can find something to have for breakfast and that we don't have to drive anywhere to start our day off. I love staying there,

From the time Eli checked us in til the time we checked out 5 days later our stay was perfect. The Karma started when Eli gave us room 322. The date was 3-20 and my wifes birthday would come 2 days later. @breakfast on 3-22 Eli brought my wife a little gift bag of water and snacks. Above and beyond. Minor cosmetic things in bathroom, but nothing to fuss about. Highly recommend this hotel.

Made a decision to go to Pasadena to see a presentation. Easy to book and in a good area. Was able to check in a little early and then able to rest up nicely before the presentation. Had to drive all day the next day so a good sleep was important. Slept very well in the good bed, and it was a quiet location. Even the room heater/AC uint was quiet!

Where do I being. Lost reservation. . . and then the front desk gave me functioning keys to a room that was already occupied by a lovely elderly couple who was as surprised as I was about barging into their room. I am glad that there was nothing too risque! The apologies received were laughable (he actually chuckled). And the wifi service is poor!

Hotel did not have any record of my Hotwire reservation when I arrived. Jose immediately rebooked me a room and worked tirelessly over the phone with Hotwire on my behalf to get me refund from Hotwire. The room was $20 less than the Hotwire rate. Go figure. The lady at the front desk also gave me a complimentary bottle of water when the vending machine ran out, which was a very nice gesture. The hotel was average but adequate. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was good quality and service was prompt.

I traveled to Pasadena for a quick, last minute business trip. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly. Additionally, the breakfast was very nice. Eggs, sausage, waffles, along with the typical offerings. The person overseeing the food area was friendly too. We got in late and left early the next day, so we did not utilize all the property had to offer. Hotel prices were higher than average in this area, but this hotel was reasonably priced.

Great for business or conferences--was used mostly for sleeping. Not really a place to stay all day at-pool is small and parking a little tight. Only complaint was the firmness of the mattress in the king sized suite. Staff was very helpful.

I got little sleep, then couldn't even relax with a bath. Emailed owner asking for at least a partial rebate. No response. Moved to an AIRBnB. Best WEstern should be ashamed to have this place....it ruins their reputation, and I'll look at other hotels instead from now on.

My traveling companion and I were pleasantly surprised by the overall courtesy, friendliness, and efficiency of the staff. The breakfast variety and quality exceeded our expectations for a "continental breakfast." The housekeeping staff were efficient and very friendly, always greeting us when they saw us. The rooms were well appointed and always clean. (Four pillows on each bed-WOW!) The only "problem" was difficulty with the internet service which the staff worked diligently to resolve. Highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay at a budget price!

This was a business/pleasure trip for me. Location is convenient fwy access. Parking good, wifi excellent, Breakfast good value - considering it is free!. I stay here frequently (3-4 times a year) for business.

We enjoyed our stay at the Beast Western Royale in Pasadena. The King Suite was very clean and well appointed. They have a nice pool and spa area. There are restaurants within walking distance. The employees are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delightful, fresh fruit, sausages, hash browns, eggs, cereal, waffles, pancakes. Just about everything you might want. We would definitely stay here again.

Spent three nights at this Best Western while attending an Expo meeting at the Pasadena Convention Center. Location was close by car. Room was comfortable and the internet worked fine. Breakfast was a nice selection of warm and cold items and I was greeted each morning by Arlene, who was very helpful. Would stay here again on my next trip to Pasadena.

My mom and I visited the Best Western Pasadena Royale while attending a conference. The room was clean and newly remodeled, in a safe and quite part of town. The best part of our stay was Arlene, the breakfast attendant. She was friendly, always checking in with guests to make sure they had everything they need and the food and drinks were well stocked. When we departed she wanted to make sure we had had plenty to eat and her concern was very sweet and left us feeling very warm.

We were in Pasadena for 1 night, stayed at BW Pasadena Royale. The hotel is a bit dated but clean and relatively quiet. My frustration with this hotel was that they would not answer their phone. I got lost trying to find the hotel, GPS devices weren't working properly so I called the hotel 5 times, no answer. When I FINALLY found the hotel, there was only 1 other person checking in and a staff of a least 3 standing around. I know the number worked because I had called it the day before.

Considering this location is on busy Colorado Bl, it was very quiet. The staff is very nice and friendly, and the room was very clean. I really enjoyed my night's sleep too. At first I thought the bed was too firm. But it turned out not to be, and I had an enjoyable night's sleep. I also enjoyed the free breakfast buffet. I always enjoy these buffets, but this was the first time I had seen a pancake machine. It was a nice surprise addition to the breakfast line up.

The room was very clean, the people at the desk were helpful, the free breakfast was great, and the cleaning crew kept every thing clean. Great place to stay, it was easy to get on and off the freeways, stores close bye and delivery after hours.

You cant park because the spaces are too small, so people park everywhere. People take two spaces or park in the middle of the lot. Forget breakfast, you can't get it because even with the smallest of crowds it becomes impossible

Stayed here for 2 nights in December 2015. Hotel was about 90 minutes during rush hour from LAX. Very clean and nice location. The front desk staff were extremely professional(I've stayed at much "nicer" chains and haven't gotten the same respectful service as here.) Breakfast was good and filling for the day ahead. Convenience store down the street if needed as well as good food nearby. I highly recommend the Burrito take-away place across the street; we enjoyed some awesome burritos our first night. Didn't use the pool, the room itself was spacious. Our room bordered the street; it isn't a loud street but it is a 4 lane street so if that might bother you ask for a room away from the street. Would definitely stay again.

The suite is very comfortable with a good layout with quality furniture provided. It has a microwave and a refrigerator. The location is also very convenient to attractions in Pasedena and Arcadia. Though the local is closed to highway 210, the room is very well insulated with no traffic noise. However, can hear the neighbor room when they use the shower. Overall, it is a very good price for the suite with full breakfast provided. The breakfast has many choices with hot and cold items. Fresh fruits are provided too. Excellent staying experience!

Please be cautious when checking into this hotel and signing paperwork. They overcharged a whole night and did not make any effort to honour this mistake, even after another stay in the future. Just want to make people aware this is happening.

My hubby and I stayed at this hotel for our anniversary. There was a slight issue when checking in. They had my husbands first and middle name as the reservation so it took awhile for the receptionist to find us. Once she did, she upgraded our room to a lovely patio room. She also gave us a complimentary drink as an anniversary gift. She was very helpful with assisting us and had great customer service. The staff was nice and friendly. The room was perfect. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The price was a deal and it came with free breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The hotel restaurant had delicious appetizers and the bartender was prompt on serving us with great drinks. We loved our stay and recommend this hotel to stay.

This hotel was great. Easy access on and off freeway. The room was very clean, quiet and staff were excellent. The handicap room had a walk-in shower which was great. Bed appeared new and comfortable. Will definitely use this one again. My only negative is that the bed was very high which seems to be popular now but presents a challenge for the handicap.

We were very pleased with this motel. Our room was lovely and clean and a nice new bed. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good. Would recommend it There was a bit of building work going on but it was out of season so repairs had to be done but it didn't affect our stay at all

Having read some of the reviews before staying here, I was somewhat apprehensive about what to expect. I was, therefore, surprised and pleased with the accommodation and the breakfast. The bedroom was spacious, with an extremely comfortable bed. The room was clean and, because it was not overlooking Colorado Boulevard, I couldn't hear any traffic noise. Breakfasts consisted of a good variety of food. The only minor criticism I would make is that the "crockery" consisted of paper plates, bowls and mugs. The bowls reminded me of vomit bowls used in hospitals! All the staff with whom I came into contact were extremely friendly, helpful and most courteous, especially the lady in the breakfast room, whose name I cannot remember but it began with 'A'. Nothing was too much trouble. I stayed here for a week, which I gathered was a bit unusual because most other guests were there for two days, either on business trips or touring. I would certainly recommend this hotel, and if I visit LA in the future, I would have no hesitation in returning here.

Hotel is being refurbished and is looking pretty good. Suite with king size bed was new, clean and comfortable. Microwave, fridge and coffee maker were handy. Nice sitting area with sofa and two chairs. Problem was the bathroom was very small. So small the door hit the toilet when you opened the door, very strange for a suite. Close to fwy and all types of shopping. Only 8 to 10 minutes from City Of Hope which is what we were there for. Breakfast was a big let down but they did try.

Before October 2015, my husband and I had never been to Los Angeles, so we knew nothing about the Pasadena area (or any other area for that matter). After looking at some other reviews on Trip Advisor, we settled on this hotel for our week-long vacation in LA. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the continental breakfast was standard (but pretty good!). Everything was very affordable and the hotel was very easy to find; we so enjoyed staying here, and will be sure to recommend it to anyone planning on staying in the same area!

The hotel is being remodeled, which is awesome. Beds are super comfy, carpet is fresh and it the hotel on the inside has an upbeat feel. However, they are still renovating, which is really loud. If you're like me and just passing through, or you'll be out a lot, no worries they stop at night, but...it's notable noise. All in all, though, for this price and so close to Pasadena, it's a great deal and they are super kind.

Quiet room! Convenient location--near the 210 freeway, close to Whole Foods, Ralph's, Von's, Sprouts. Minutes from the Huntington and Norton Simon Museums. We have been staying at this motel since 1987. It still meets all of our needs.

I've been a BW rewards customer since 2010 and have stayed in many BW hotels. Never had a negative experience with the staff and always found the BW hotel grounds clean. My room had a large bathroom and very comfortable king bed. Same for the Pasadena Royal BW. Staff was friendly, room clean, outside property clean, Centrally located on Colorado Blvd. and minutes away from the 210 freeway.

We spent two nights here. Our suite overlooked busy Colorado Blvd, but neither of us had a problem with the sometimes loud traffic noise. The hotel is near grocery stores and restaurants you can walk to, or a short drive. The room was clean, had a refrigerator, large bedroom and nice size sitting area. There is no door between the two, so anyone staying up late in watching tv in the sitting area can be a problem. When we first arrived at motel, we were too early to check in, but clerk gave us directions to Huntington Library and was very helpful. When we came back, I waited 15 minutes while clerks helped two other guests check-in. I was hot and grumpy and there was no where in the lobby to get a drink of water. Finally my turn came and Jose was helpful and apologized for my wait. Breakfast the next morning was very good with make it yourself waffles and pancakes, and fresh fruit, but the same round plastic egg discs you find in most BW. Free wifi worked well. I would stay here again.

Best Western Pasadena Royale, Pasadena provided us with excellent service and comfortable accommodations. I value cleanliness and quietness as top characteristics of any good motel-hotel. This had both, along with friendly staff.

Basic, a bit outdated the rooms, but everything worked. Staff very helpful, fast-free internet, good breakfast included-no yogurt though :(. Vending machine very limited (just soft drinks, as it had ran out of water)

This Best Western was a nice surprise. We were very pleased with our room and service. We like to stay in the Glendale/ Pasadena area when going to Dodger games. When we arrived, we noticed that there was major work being done on hotel room renovations. The workmen were quiet and respectful of the vehicles in the parking lot. Upon checking in, we were greeted by a very personable desk clerk. We noticed the fresh feeling in the lobby. We were pleasantly surprised when we got to our room and saw we had a mini fridge. The room was spotless, we had plenty of room, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was included, which we took advantage of Sunday morning.The food was fresh and there was a nice selection of items, that were constantly being refilled. Even though the dining area was small there appeared to be seats for everyone. Last month we stayed at the Hilton in Glendale, which I was not impressed with. We got a better value and better service at this Best Western. We will return. ??

The baby crib mattress was filthy, full of fluid spots, so I took a new "clean" towel to cover it and I found hairs in it. The next day, when we arrived to the room is was the same as we left in the morning, the bed unmade, trash not gather, but non towels, so, They came in, took the towels and left. I talked with the front door lady and She said me that the only thing she could do was giving me new towels and a blanket for the filthy baby crib, because the cleaning ladies only work during the day. The next day I talked with another guy in the front desk, and he told me that he was going to talk with the cleaning service, and told them to clean our room and change the baby crib (It was logical and least). We expected more than a sorry, because it wasn't only one mistake. It was a horrible experience and I would not recommend this hotel to any one. The only good thing was the breakfast, but the bossy woman in charge, asking for the tickets and telling every one where to put the trash, makes the breakfast not a good time.
