Best Western Ai Cavalieri Hotel

I stayed at this hotel for one week in October 2023. This was my first time in Sicily and my first time in Palermo. I had a very memorable experience indeed! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They are also very spacious! The hotel is also located in an excellent location close to the Mercato Ballaro and it's just right around the corner from Piazza Politeama. The staff were all very friendly, polite, and helpful. I would definitely stay there again and definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of going to Palermo!

We arrived a day before our group and were given the worst room they had (we think). The room we got had mold with strong odor, in multiple places. The shower had clear walls and was positioned at the entrance. Breakfast was fine.

The hotel was booked for 2 guests. We get there, can not find parking and no air conditioner in lobby. The hotel clerk said too bad for you but we have only 1 guest on reservations. So good for me. I didn't have internet to check on my bw app so I believed him . He laughs at us and says 50 more euros per night. So we had to pay 50 more euros so we could rest. Later. We Looked at reservations. He was wrong. It did have two guests. No parking but paid for parking. They just move your car around when you have to leave the keys with the front desk. Horrible experience. Not professional and no customer service. I strongly do not recommend this hotel.

Very disappointed with service. Asked for a room change after the first night because my room was particularly dark and depressing. I asked early before I knew that a large influx of guests were due to arrive in the afternoon. I was told to check back. After I did, they said no because all rooms were booked. Yet while I sat in the lobby they checked in even more people, I also went on the web and could have paid for a room, so rooms were still available. When I asked why they could give others rooms but not me, all of a sudden they couldn't understand what I was saying very conveniently - a language barrier!! The man behind the desk insisted they were full, was very dismissive of me, and was particularly unhelpful.

The location is excellent. Nearby attractions, restaurants, shops and not too far from the historic district and Palermo Markets. The staff at the hotel were extremely nice checking in and answering any questions or directions needed. The room was perfect for my needs with a great view, air conditioning and a nice balcony (room 304).

This was my second time staying at the lovely BWAC hotel in Palermo ! The staff is top notch and the hotel so lovely !It is immaculate! The hotel felt like our home away from home . It is conveniently located so you can walk everywhere! I honestly would not stay anywhere else in Palermo. I hope to return next January.

We booked this hotel through Delta Vacations to be close to food and attractions the week leading up to NewYears. Convenient, safe and quiet location with bus (Prestia e Comande) from/to airport 5 minute walk from hotel, near Politeama Square. Hotel was also about 6 minute walk to Teatro Massimo and close to a grocery store and wonderful restaurants. Clean, spacious, comfortable room with balcony. I would recommend including the breakfast package with your room rate. So many wonderful choices: Cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, hot and cold meats and cheeses, breads, toast, pastries, dessert breads, juices, American coffee and Italian Cappuccino and Espresso. Friendly staff—especially Linda!

We had a great room that even had a sitting room attached. Nice large bathroom and very big bed.But comforter was placed under the sheet making it awkward to sleep without the comforter. There was no mirror in the room except for the bathroom, and the bathroom didn't have a vent or a window. Otherwise excellent. Good breakfast. Clean facility in a good location. Just watch out for the tiny mosquitos that come in when you open the window. As in most of Europe, no screens.

i would just like to say that the hotel was kept very clean and in a great location as for the staff they couldn't bé more warm and very welcoming plus helpful with tours and especially great restaurants. i would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is clean, the rooms are a good size, the breakfast was appreciated, and the staff were nice. We walked to several amazing historical sites throughout the city. The blend of cultural architecture is awesome making this stay an enjoyable experience.

5 night stay made enjoyable by staff with easy check in and helpful to any enquiry to get around Palermo, buffet breakfast was adequate and well stocked with rooms being kept well maintained at all times,restaurants and bars are nearby and the main shopping precinct is only 5 minutes away. Would recommend this place to stay !

We stayed here for one night in October 2022. It's very central close to the Teatro Massimo and Capo market. Our room on the first floor was average size, clean and comfortable and not at all noisy despite facing the street. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - nothing was too much bother. We would recommend this hote.

The place is very well maintained with a bit of a retro flavour. I guess it is well located to visit Palermo. Private parking is a plus, but check first whether you are driving in limited traffic areas (i.e. ZTL). I did appreciate the manners of the staff and the breakfast

Great staff, especially Dario who was very helpful in retrieving our luggage from the airlines after several days of waiting. He also assisted us in finding another location just in case we needed to stay an extra day in Palermo to get our luggage because the hotel was booked. Charming marbled lobby and dining area with some antique furniture yet modern rooms. Ample breakfast with attentive staff. Convenient walking to Teatro Massimo, Capo food market, and other major sights n downtown Palermo. We felt safe walking around the area at night. There is a bank ATM if you turn right out of the front door and on the right side of the street just before MacDonalds fast food. No more than a few blocks.

Very nice hotel in a great spot for walking around the sights of Palermo & the streets stuffed with seductive restaurants. Comfy rooms, good air conditioning & quiet. No great views from the rooms, but it is in the middle of the city.

This hotel is stylish, neat and clean and located near some good restaurants and markets, also a short walk to the waterfront to see some massive ships. Nice breakfast. I must give kudos to the professional and friendly staff also for helping and supporting us through a difficult departure. They truly seem to have the guests' best interests in mind.

Room was fine, as was the bathroom, despite an ill fitting shower door.( #406). Buffet breakfast ok, in a spacious room. It's strange that the hotel receptionist, with tourist customers, had never even heard of any of the top 10 restaurants in Palermo we thought of visiting; had no idea where they were; and suggested we go to one of the totally uninspiring ones in the immediate neighbourhood.

Me and my girlfriend visited this hotel in August/21 and it was great. Very clean and just a few meters from Palermo city center. Easy to get a bus to Mondello´s beach and the staff were very kind giving us several advices. We´re really looking forward to returning there.

This was a good hotel to be near the centre of Palermo. It is an easy walk to the old quarter. The room was comfortable and quite spacious. There is no restaurant in the hotel but restaurants are near. The hotel serves breakfast and it is very good and not expensive.It is in a quiet and safe area of the town yet central. The staff were helpful and friendly.

A very good 4 star hotel with 39 rooms situated in a quiet road a stone's throw away from the centre of the city. All the staff were extremely helpful, kind and knowledgeable. They also spoke English. A very pleasant breakfast room with an excellent buffet. The parking facilities cost Euros 10 per day. The only minor "fly in the ointment" was that some of the furniture in our room looked rather "tired" and could have done with a "spruce up".

This was my first time in Palermo and this hotel was a great choice. Friendly, accommodating staff made for a nice stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was much better than expected and food was fresh. Tip....ask for a room facing the front. Nice view and a balcony

I stayed here for a few nights during a short trip to Sicily. The hotel is in a nice fairly quiet location, but is reasonably close to the main pedestrian street and plenty of restaurants and tourist sites. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and include all the usual amenities. If possible, try to get a room facing the front of the hotel, since these have small balconies. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet is excellent. All things considered, this hotel is a very good value for your money, and I would definitely recommend it.

Good hotel overall with adequate breakfast. I found the matras very hard and had difficulty to sleep. Was there only for one night, and stayed there as my meeting location was nearby. And I add a few more words to get to the minimum required letters....

At first we were not happy with the location but soon realized hotel is closed to everything. Although it's an older building (what is young in Sicily) it's being remodeled. We were given one of the newer rooms. Very comfortable. Amenities in the bathroom. Breakfast excellent. Cappuccino always available or "cafe americano"

This was our last stop on a 17 day journey. The room was nice and clean. The beds are hard but overall OK room. The bar staff was just allright service was not the best. It is a great location. Breakfast was adequate but not great.

Nice room. Not to big.... but good airco. Bed a little to hard... no solution for that. Staff really friendly and helpfull. Most beautiful breakfast room. Nice situated near center Palermo... restaurant torquemaida near by.

We stayed three nights at the end of May and enjoyed this hotel very much. Rooms are clean, comfortable and the entire facility is well-maintained. The location is ideal; the area is quiet and safe, and a very short stroll away from everything Palermo has to offer. Staff are courteous and professional, especially those in the breakfast restaurant; very welcoming and obliging. As we spent our days sightseeing, we only required somewhere clean, comfortable and convenient to sleep at the end of a very tiring day, and this hotel certainly delivered on that front. Would definitely stay again on our next visit.

All modern conveniences in this historic building blend together to make our stay very enjoyable. The situation is close to the centre of town which makes the hotel convenient for restaurants and shopping. The service was good and the reception staff were pleasant and helpful.

We were with a group from the Arts Society. Most ot the others seemed to enjoy the experience, and whilst we didn't manage to see their rooms they must have had rooms that had been upgraded. Ours, on the other hand, was furnished in furniture that was dark, old and tired. The TV didn't work til we had a member of staff see to it, the plug in the bathroom wash basin was stuck open so any water run into it ran out immediately. Then the food (breakfast only) was also poor, the best thing about it was the toaster which, compared with other hotels we stayed at, worked.The bed was excellent. I used to own a Best Western Hotel,, this one didn't shape up to their standards. OH! and the carpets on our corridor weren't vacuumed in three days.

We have lived in Palermo for a year, travelled to Palermo ten times and know the City well. Although known as a budget hotel in America, this Best Western is a really good affordable option when visiting Plaermo. Cleam, good staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. Also the location is very central only about a 5 minute walk to Teatro Massimo, If you just want an affordable good hotel centrally located, keep this option open.

What a horrible hotel! The rooms were terrible. This is the bottom of the barrel for sure. Thanks to Insight Vacations for this wonderful last night of our trip stay in a slum. Do not use Insight Vacations for anything. They were the worst. Never again!

I really enjoyed this hotel and surrounds. It was easy walking distance to all sights in Palermo which is a flat walkable interesting city. The room was spacious. The staff friendly and breakfast was V good.

We arrived on Oct. 14 for three nights. I had trouble with my wifi for the entire time. The room was fine but Wifi access in the renovated section was bad. They denied it was a problem and after the first day I said at the desk that they were concealing the problem. They blamed it on only the passwords but this was not true. On the third night I was heading to the lobby to use my iPad and a man just settled in the new section joined me in the elevator and complained about the wifi in his room. He was given the usual lines and fake remedies and, because of my warning, asked the person who “helped” him to come with him to his room. His device was unable to get a wifi connection, so his helper connected him via another address called AlCavalieriWIFI2 with a staff password that customers are not using. I found this out by asking him how he made out this morning when we met in the breakfast room. It is bad enough to have a wifi problem. It is shamefully cruel to have employees too afraid to admit the problem to customers and waste their clients' time (in my case several hours) struggling with it.

First time in Sicily and I choose Palermo as a starting point since it got direct flight from London. Catch the bus in the airport and it sent me directly to the plaza. The hotel is not hard to find when you could locate Mcdonalds, it's just few blocks away from it. I arrived at 10 and the bar close to the hotel is still full of people. I got a room upgrade so I got the little balcony, which is fancing the church. The room itself is big and comfy, the design is a bit old school but sort of classy, the toliet is quiet modern though. I didn't book the breakfast so I just grab something from downstairs and eat on my balcony, which is so relaxing and chill. You can even got a bit of sun at the afternoon. The hotel is located in the centre, so basically you can walk to everywhere, even to the train station, it may take you 30 mintues, but it's good to wander around. After two days, I already feel like home here, people is friendly and the air con is working so well. So after some long walk in town, you can always cool down in your room. And if you dont wanna walk too much, bus stop is just 5 mintues away, which can take you to the train station. And the hop on/off bus just 10 mintues away if you wanna check out the whole town/ beaches. Ask the staff at front desk, they'll help you out for anywhere you wanna go!

The hotel is on a quiet street close to the main square and main shopping area. It has two parts, the character-full but older rooms on the street and the modern rooms at the rear. We stayed in the modern area but looked at a beautiful classic-type room with balcony on the street. unfortunately, it smelt of cigar smoke and we are non smokers. The modern room we were in was large and very clean. It had a comfortable King bed, safe, big TV, blackout curtains and built-in or fixed furniture. Coffee machine was provided. WIFI was slow and required each device to be signed in. The bathroom had a walk-in rain shower that we had problems with, using the hose shower instead. Basin, toilet, water pressure, hot water supply, shaving mirror, were all good. There were hand-wash and body-wash dispensers. Breakfast was good and gluten free bread was available. The wait staff were helpful. Overall, we liked this place and it's location.

We stayed here as part of a tour group. Our room was quite large with an extra sitting room. So quite spacious for us. Our room was in the older part of the hotel. So the room was “very tired”. Needed some renovation. Some rooms are more modern. Lift was very slow. Wi fi although free was intermittent. Breakfast was average. The hotel was walking distance to Main Street shopping restaurants, etc.

This hotel was great. I only stayed in it for two nights, but I literally cancelled my reservation at a horrible hotel at the last minute because I was unhappy there after several nights and found this gem of a hotel. Location is great and you are within walking distance of the main attractions while still feeling like the hotel is among the locals, I found the most wonderful nearby bakery, etc. Staff is attentive and the room, lobby, etc. was nice. I look forward to staying here again.

This was the first time that I stayed at the hotel. The receptionist took some time to complete my check-in, even though I was the only one at the reception. He was resolving some issues over the phone, and me, checking in, had to wait until the end of his conversation, with whoever ended. Well, it happens ... But friends, please read me carefuly ... bigger problems were yet to come. I made a reservation in an executive king size bedroom. Upon entering the room, I noticed an architectural decoration completely inappropriate related to my standards. There was no separation between the bedroom and the bathroom, sink and the central bathroom mirror fully visible, no privacy at all. What's more, the shower compartment was completely transparent, glass devided, that is, whoever in the shower would be totally seen by anyone inside of the room, willing or not. For me, a minimum of individual privacy is compulsory. Therefore, I did not accept to stay in this room, which apparently was one of the "refurneshed" one. I asked for another one, more on the "orthodox" side. This new room was noticeably older, which would not be a problem if everything worked out fine.... The shower was inside the tub (OK), water outlet coming from the top, side guard between the tub and the bathroom (a glass flap) to prevent the shower water from falling on the bathroom floor was installed. The infiltration of water was unbelievable. Soon the bathroom became completely flooded, minutes after each shower begun. Impractical. Simply lack of maintenance. But essential for the comfort of the guest who was paying for all the installation. Parking, for those coming by car, is quite affordable. Breakfast food quite reasonable, nothing much to brag about, and the hotel location, in the city, is excellent.

Very easy to walk to quite a number of sites in Palermo as the hotel was ideally situated. Breakfast was very good with a great variety of food. Hotel room was on the small side, but typical for many European hotels.

This lovely hotel has a traditional side and a newly renovated modern side. We stayed in the modern side for 3 nights and found it very clean and comfortable. It has a lovely breakfast area, restaurant and bar. The staff is wonderful. They are helpful and accommodating. The location has several upscale restaurants, trattorias, pizzerias with much nightlife. The hotel is about an 8 minute walk from Teatro Massimo, which is a great starting point for many of the city's highlights.

We arrived in Palermo worn out from traveling. This hotel was a great starting point for our trip through Sicily. It was clean and comfortable and offered an excellent breakfast selection in the morning with fresh-squeezed juices and coffee made to order.

The Best Western Ai Cavaliers Hotel is right in the midst of the historic city center. It is easy to walk to the cathedral or the Norman Palace. We had a room in the new section which was modern but smaller than I expected. The bed was comfortable, the shower was enclosed, and the WiFi worked. There was a desk but really no where else to sit. Our daughter had a room in the older section and although we had upgraded our room she had a classic room with a small sitting room attached. But the shower was the bathtub style which I do not like. Breakfast was good and the people at the restaurant and at the front desk were friendly and helpful.

It is a busy area with nightlife and one way streets so it is very hard to find if you are driving. They have parking behind the hotel. Everything was great once we found it. Nice area, walk to the square, restaurants, etc.

We stayed one night with the tour and then we stayed on because it was a good place and close to our needs. The room was comfortable and from what I can remember from the service it was OK. Every morning we came down for breakfast and there at the entry was a big furry rabbit so I took a photo of my wife next to the rabbit. She liked the rabbit. Breakfast was good. What you need to understand just about every breakfast you have in Italy is that it is all about the cold cuts and cheese and the Italian sweets you come across. Yummy. Ciao

Spent three nights in the Cavalieri Hotel and have mixed ideas: on the one hand, it is very well situated, within walking distance of a number of monuments/sites and restaurants, and gives a good sense of Palermo. The hotel itself is a bit of a downside: the rooms are not well isolated, and we ended up hearing neighboring rooms above and to the sides quite a bit (it was a bit... intimate, given what one may hear). Perhaps the worse was the temperature, which was quite warm: when inquired at reception about how to cool it down, they had no solutions but to open the window (which would let in street noise and cigarette smokes from a bar nearby). Other than that, it was tidy and offered the basics, the front desk staff varied from helpful to dismissive, and the bed was middling. If they are offering a special price, it might be worthwhile, but I believe one can do better in Palermo.

Hotel is nice and clean with excelent breakefast choice, parking for cars and close to cener of the city. Nearby wine bar and walking distance to all major atractions. Stuff is very griendly and helpfull. Love the place and will stay there when next time in Palermo.

The location is just off the busy traffic streets but easily within walking distance of the main attractions. Staff extremely helpful and on the ball. Rooms very comfortable and clean. We recommend the junior suite for space and they have a balcony too. Breakfast offering is however quite ordinary and not of a standard one would expect in a hotel of this good quality. However notwithstanding this, a most enjoyable visit and we would stay again.

First of all Hotel has a private parking 10€ a day and it's like 50 mtrs from front desk. Breakefast with variety of stuff. Rooms cosy and clean. Personnel speaka English and it's located in the centre....just what we want.

The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The staff at breakfast were also very pleasant. The mattresses were firm and comfortable and the room was quiet. We slept well. There does need to be some extra training for the housekeeping staff. They should make up the rooms when it suits the guests, not when it suits them. Best Western need to invest some money in redecorating the rooms. The walls were badly marked and scuffed. The sealant around the bath was mouldy and needs replacing. This, in our view, is not the fault of the staff but of Best Western who need to provide money for redecoration.

Highly mediocre and not worth the money! Not only are the rooms a bit dated, but the worst thing is the service: When we got to our 4th floor room, we realized that in the bathroom, instead of the wall button designed to flush the toilet, there was a big hole!!! So no way to flush... Tried calling reception to change rooms, but reception did not pick up. So I had to go downstairs to the reception and asked for a change of rooms. "Oh, no! was I told, it happens all the time, it's not a problem, someone will come up and fix it for you..." So I went back up with an employee who indeed fetched the button inside the wall and put it back in the right place! One has to wonder why this was not done before the arrival of new guests!!! And on and on... There are no individual toiletries, only liquid soap/shampoo in a dispenser, which would be ok it was not practically empty when you arrive...Here again, you have to chase housekeeping to refill it... Mind you, everyone is nice enough, but they definitely lack professionalism and training! Would not return in this place which doesn't deserve the Best Western label.

Last day of my trip around Italy and Sicily and unfortunately I ended up in this place. The hotel as such is quite nice but when we went into our room it was vile, extremely stale odour of cigarette smoke. This place you can smoke and I really didn't like it. The room was hot so I wanted to put on the air conditioner with a window open for the cigarette stench but you can't have that. Either the window or air conditioner - put up with the stench and be cool or open window and be hot. I did request another room but they said they didn't have one. They do serve a great breakfast. If I did stay here again it would have to be on the assurance that I have a room that guests haven't smoked in.

Best Western Al Cavalieri, is a very nice hotel. The rooms are very clean and the people at the front desk are very friendly. The location of the hotel is very good. Also the breakfast in the morning was delicious they gave you a variety of different foods that was very fresh. Also you are at walking distance to everything. If you're going to visit Palermo Italy I would recommend this hotel.

We (a group of five) stayed in Cavalieri for a week in September. The hotel is very well situated in the Politeama zone, a bit outside the old center but still in a comfortable walking distance to almost everything. The shuttle bus from/to the airport stops 5 minutes away from the hotel. Rooms are clean, (relatively) spacious, (relatively) quiet and (absolutely) well equipped - including wi-fi which is quite useable. Beware of rooms adjacent to the elevator. If you are sensible to low frequency noise, ask for an other room. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is served in a wide, airy room (a kind of covered courtyard) and has more than I ever needed. All in all a very nice place for a stay in Palermo.

Best Western usually makes me think of motels in small towns. This is a 4 star hotel in the big city. Larger than expected with sitting table and two chairs, the corner had a chaise with ottoman. The balcony opened to a quiet street in the morning, choose the fourth floor, best view. There are number of restaurants within walking distance. Grocery 2 blocks away, main walking and shopping street is easy to get to. Breakfast has a varied menu of hot and cold choices. Hope this helps make your decision. We liked the room 402!

We've stayed at many places during our Europe Trip, but Ai Cavalieri was a breath of fresh air. We were given an amazing room, quite large in space and a comfy king bed. Bathroom was updated and modern. Balcony also looking out into street. Great service and great location.

The Best Western basically saved our lives on a recent trip to Palermo. We had rented an Airbnb in the opera house piazza, and arrived to find that a huge event was in full swing for both nights we were booked, in the square. The noise was so loud it was shaking our building. We found the Best Western online, and walked over to check out the neighborhood - very cute, quiet and minutes from the city center. We booked a King room, and arrived to a friendly staff. We stayed on the 4th floor and to our surprise the room was huge, and also had french doors which opened onto a small balcony. Really lovely. And quiet! Also good is the bar that is attached to the hotel, Graal Club. It has a very nice courtyard area where you can enjoy the outdoors and have a drink and a bite. Overall, great experience, exceeded expectations.

Ideal for sightseeing on foot, we had a large room with a double bed and a separate area with twin beds in which meant we had space to spread out a little (lots of luggage). Service was very good from reception and they parked the car for us (chargeable parking but reasonable). Nice bar at the front of the hotel but no restaurant service just breakfast which we missed sadly.

Great location, helpful personnel and good breakfast . Get the recently renewed suites or executives rooms . Receptionist when above their pay grade to be helpful, also bell men and breakfast staff. Used to be a high quality condominium .

The location is very good. We are aircrew and found restaurants, bars, nice grocery store, and high quality meat & cheese (la drogheria) shops close. Unfortunately there was renovation going on during the day so you would not be able to rest in the day. I would have given them an additional star if the renovation was not so loud. Clean. Internet.

A traditional hotel ideally located for sightseeing and shopping; comfortable rooms and excellent bar area and breakfast room. Staff very informative and helpful,with good recommendations for restaurants, sights etc. Within easy reach of some of the best restaurants in Palermo and for the airport shuttle bus. We would certainly recommend this as an ideal city base.

This hotel was in a great location and although I was not fortunate enough to be given a balcony room on the tour the room was clean and comfortable. But what really makes this hotel special is the fantastic staff. They are the most friendly helpful staff I have ever come across while being on an organised tour. From the the cleaning staff , dining areas and front desk, the staff just couldn't have done more to make my stay so memorable. Others on my tour felt the same way too. The dining areas are just so light and airy with great decor . The management should be very proud of their wonderful staff.

Hotel was close to all the monuments and cathedrals in a nice area of town. Our room was great overlooking the street on the 4 th floor. WiFi was a little weak since we were in a corner room but otherwise fantastic hotel with very friendly staff. Would recommend if visiting Palermo.

This hotel has a great location, friendly staff, and clean rooms. We could be downtown in minutes with the bus stops located just a few short blocks away. Gelato at your doorstep, and the hotel itself has a delightful bar. Their breakfast was included in the price and provided a terrific buffet. We enjoyed staying here and would do so again and again.

Very nice hotel in a great central location. The hotel staff were friendly and the hotel was clean throughout. Our bedroom was great as we had two kids with us and they essentially had their own room (minus a door). The room size meant that the kids went off to sleep but we could still stay up and plan for the next days outing.

Compared to the other best western chains in Europe this one is just average. The location is good. Nearby the city center. On TripAdvisor it list they have a fitness center but it doesn't. The room we stayed in had no AC. Only a heater so we had to open our windows to cool down our room everyday. Also, I was shocked to see the little tiny sponges provided in rooms for body wash. How are we suppose to scrub ourselves with something so small? Literally less than 1X1cm square! So advice is to bring your own body wash and sponge! Breakfast was good..much better than most Italian hotels. Friendly staff.

Not too far away from the main streets which made for an easy walk to the main sights. Quiet neighbourhood. Really friendly staff. Comfortable and clean room, plenty of space. Good breakfast in a nice dining room. Clean, comfortable public areas; nice lounge next to reception and a lovely cool lounge area behind. A great place to stay for a city break.

We spent 2 nights here while on a tour and would rate as in our title. Room was clean, bed comfortable, some noise from street just below. Desk personnel pleasant and helpful. Lobby bar has an excellent appetizer tray- good with wine- for a reasonable price. Don't miss the outstanding Sesto Canto restaurant in the same block.

One of the better hotels on a trip to Sicily, Malta and Cyprus. Staff well trained, helpful and friendly. Public rooms well furnished and great decor. Bartenders could make a great Martini. Breakfast had a wide variety and very good quality. I really liked the furnishing in the rooms on the main floor in the lobby and sitting rooms. Close to very good dining and shopping areas. Bank hours limited so you will have to use ATMs.

This is a smaller renovated older hotel in central Palermo, very centrally located. We stayed here as part of a tour, so can't comment on our room rate. However, it appears to go for just above $130. The rooms are slightly larger than average European city hotel and in very good condition. Very clean rooms with a tub, but the bathrooms are small. As in many older hotels, the rooms are a little under lit. Very comfortable beds with good a/c and a flat screen with a very large number of channel offerings. Decent breakfast buffet, with only limited hot items. Very quiet. Helpful staff who spoke English very well. Parking available. The restaurant Sesto Canto is a few doors down, and deserves it's #5 in Palermo ranking.

Had a room with a balcony facing Via Sant' Oliva, so it was enjoyable each morning walking onto the balcony to feel the day's weather. The location was within walking distance of many good restaurants, the opera theater, the archaeological museum, and some of the best gelato in Palermo. The room was comfortable and quiet. The front desk staff was pleasant and had good restaurant recommendations. But to get an extra bath towel, you have to go down to the front desk in person get it. One day I made the mistake of telephoning the staff for an extra bath towel (beyond the one towel a day they supply) and I never received a towel or any response. Overall I liked the hotel but convenience of location was a significant factor.

It delivers whats written on the web. Breakfast was good. Great bar with good selection of beer. Room was fine. Smaller than the other hotels we got for the same price in other cities in sicilia. Parking was a bit wierd. We arrieved late at the evening, and got told that the parking was in the back. We drove our rental car there and a man with no name tag or nothing came to us and said he would park the car and take car of it. We got a bit sceptic and ask him if he worked for the hotel. He didnt speak english and we didnt know what to do. This could be in the worst case a criminal that wanted to steal our car. So it was not a good experience. But it turned out that the guy was working for the parking place that the hotel used and there was no problem. But the experience was dodgy and wierd. The hotel was friendly and the overall feeling in the 3 days we stayed there was good.

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel as part of an extended trip of Europe and Sicily. We found the hotel to be perfect in terms of location, staff and service and the room clean,and bright with lots of amenities and an excellent bed.Breakfasts were also a treat. It is within very easy walking distance of restaurants and the major local attractions - including the magnificent Opera building. Palermo also provides an excellent shopping experience.

We were nicely surprised by the room upgrade we have received. The suite was a nice size and had all the necessary amenities - WiFi was a little low. The hotel is located in a quiet road close to the Teatro Politeama which lies between the new and the old city. A lot of the sites are within walking distance. There is a decent choice of restaurants around it. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet has a varied choice.

This hotel is well located close to the city center. Our room has a balcony with a good view of sky above trees, antique style and good taste of furnishings. The personnel is courteous and helpful. Considering the fee of less than $100, it's an unrealistically good deal.

Perfectilly situated in the centre of Palermo with a comfortable modern rooms, excellent breakfast and a really kind staff. It is really convenient for visiting the city, going out at night and reaching the best shopping areas of the city.

I cannot remember how many days and visits to this SKY TV equipped hotel..20 visits?, 25?...at least 50 days here or more...wonderful staff, great breakfast, the Graal bar so cool and such a contrast to the Venetian Chandeliers in the lobby. Love this hotel, you will as well...

I loved this little hotel!! Our room was a little small but was so comfortable and cozy. We had a Juliette balcony and you could hear the church bells from the corner church.....just beautiful! Excellent breakfast area and the food was fantastic. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were walking distance to some great shopping and restaurants. After being away for 28 days it was nice to have a change of pace and stay in this hotel.

Wonderful location with excellent service from staff. Easy walking to many sites. Great shopping, bars and restaurants nearby.Very comfortable beds and breakfasts are a very good starter to busy days.

Very central located, Clean and excellent staff. I was here on business with other 9 colleagues and every one was feeling simply good and at east with location and nice People like the very professional director, the barman, and all their colleagues. Keep it like it is!

The hotel was small, nicely decorated, clean and had a friendly front desk. It was a 12-15 minute walk to the main areas of attraction and in a good area for finding a number of restaurants. The rooms were of an average size and comfortable. Our only complaint was the noise. We had a lovely room that faced the front from which we could hear the church bells, not so bad, but also all the people coming into the hotel late at night from the town. We were also at the top of the stairs on the second floor and the noise from the lobby and bar sometimes went late . Breakfast was modest with options for eggs, fruit, yogurt etc. The people at the front desk were very helpful in giving directions and places to eat and answering questions. It was a quaint hotel .

Very nice hotel and lovely staff - especially the director-manager and the people in the breakfast room. Stayed for 1 week as a single - felt very safe walking around the area and think it is a very good location to get to the various sights. The bar and restaurant area in the lobby is very nice to have in the hotel if you want a drink late at night or just don't feel like going out. The room was very comfortable...I am planning to return in September and will definitely stay again at this hotel.

Stayed with insight tours our room was very smelly with cigarette smoke even though insight says all there rooms are non smoking Changed rooms lucky for us there were no others The rooms are very small and basic air-conditioning not great no tea and coffee making facilities Only 1 towel and soap in small bathroom rang and was told a extra towel would be bought after 2 more phone calls and a 3 hour wait we finally got a towel told house keeper was On a break Breakfast was basic and not a lot of selection Handy to town but wouldn,t stay here again

Within walking distance to the port and the opera house and the Rodeo drive of Palermo. You are going to get the standard Best Western quality with a European touch, like the raised bath tub. Very clean. You are not going to have any trouble by staying here. The average rating is a relative to other hotels that I have been to the area, so if Hilton at Giardini Naxos in Taormina is 5 stars , best western in Palermo is a three.

Very small and simple room, but clean. It is in a good location, but just next is a bar so if your room faces street, you will get "the pleasure" of very loud music until midnight. Shower is always a problem in most of the budget hotels in Europe. There is no restaurant in this hotel.

After a very long journey from Catania via an endless diversion, we arrived, obviously hot and stressed having negotiated the rush hour traffic in Palermo. Not the receptionist's fault, of course, but we could have done with a bit more than the glacial "welcome" we received. The parking is around the corner and it is quite disconcerting to give your car keys to a total stranger who then tells you he keeps your keys and gives them to reception! Actually it was fine but you would have thought that the receptionist might have explained and reassured us about this! The room was extremely small ( we did not expect anything huge as we were in a city )but we did have a nice balcony onto the square. Breakfast was a disaster every day. The staff were lovely but had received no training and were not working to any system. Although there were few guests, I lost count of the times I had to ask for items to be replenished. I work in a hotel and felt that I was back in work myself! Good location in that it is a 10 minute walk to the action but is very quiet. Beds and pillows desperately uncomfortable. Curiously having been very cold throughout our stay, as we checked out, the same receptionist helped us with our luggage. She was very clearly pleased to see us depart.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a recent tour through Sicily. Nice hotel in the center of town. We had a room on the 4 floor facing the streets. It had a small balcony and a sitting room. Bathroom had a nice shower and the water was hot. A/C worked well. We were able to get a ironing board and iron. One was sitting outside our room when we arrived. The porter was going to take it away when we asked if we could use it. Worked out well. Breakfast in the morning was good. The servers were very pleasant. Several good restaurants nearby. The hotel was nice and clean, but Palermo could use a good street cleaning. Free WIFI, but it was not very fast and had trouble connecting.

Stayed for a family wedding, mixed group of adults and teenagers. Location is excellent and far nicer than some we saw during our visit. Parking is also available which is a bonus in the middle of the city. Central location for all places of interest, shopping and restaurants. Hotel lovely and clean and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

After traipsing around Sicily for two weeks, Ai Cavalieri in Palermo was the perfect place to relax, rejuventae and clean up! I had a wonderfully spacious room and marble bath with a REAL shower. It was quiet, the hotel personnel were gracious, and the location was great. I will certainly return to Ai Cavalieri.

We stayed here a few days ago. Our stay was nice. The bed was comfortable. The AC was great. At first it seemed like it didnt work and we talked to the front desk. He did something behind the counter and after that it was nice and cold in the room. The shower pressure was good but temps would fluctuate. The breakfast was the normal pasteries, breads and such. There are 3-4 great restaurants on the same block and the prices are great as well as the food. There's a dry cleaner (lavasecco) a half block away if you go to the right of the hotel then turn right on the next street. There's a laundry service 2 1/2 blocks away. Go left out from the hotel, go through the park with the strange trees, walk down via carini and you'll end up in front of the fish and produce market. The laundry service is to the left of the market. It's closed on Sunday as many things are closed on Sunday. Except for the annoying cig smoke once in a while I would stay here again due to the close proximity to everything.

Excellent location near Politeamo theater. Close to everything. Walking distance to all city attractions, but very safe and generally quiet neighborhood. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is good too. Good choice of fruits, cookies, excellent coffee. The rooms are quiet as well. We stayed in the room 105 with the balcony facing the street. The size is good and the service is great.
