Nice room hands dow, this hotel is truly a diamond in the rough. Part of town that is, got in later and was nervous about car being maybe broken into...parked amongst many and took everything out. No issues. Front desk gal very friendly and saw the catfood out front and there were a few kitties and 2 racoons...mini zoo!! Did hear a sideshow and fast cars squeeling and racing in vicinity, wanted to go see but thought better of it! Extremely awesome rooms, huge, spacious!! Yes a diamond in the rough and a pristine oasis as stated before. Barring any outside activity. Cross your fingers!!!

Hotel searchers BEWARE! This property has strong potential to ruin your vacation! Amenities specifically the hot tub was not working which was our primary reason for booking this property No service technician was called to repair throughout our stay Hot water in shower was not working on occasion as well Feral cats roaming property, insect infestation in rooms, no housekeeping Dec 24/25, dirty public facilities, etc Staff is very rude, dismissive, unprofessional and overall poorly trained No manager on site to address our concerns and was also uninterested in discussing our concerns when finally ran into as checking out and over phone call Very very disappointed indeed

Stay away from this property if you are looking for customer service, quality, and services that they advertise online. Horrible customer service and unresponsive and unprofessional management. We stayed there for 4 nights in Dec 2023. On our first night, we reported a nonfunctioning hot tub, but nothing was done to get the hot tub fixed during our 4 nights/5 days stay. After sitting in a COLD hot tub, we went back to our room to take a hot shower, but there was no hot water in the shower at the time. It was torture. On top of that, we found a spider on the pillow and took it to the front desk to show the proof. The front desk representative didn't even offer to replace the pillow. We found sliver fish in the bathroom. At night, we saw a few cats roaming around and sleeping on guests' cars. There were lots of other hotels available in December 2023 that we could've booked, but we booked this hotel because of the hot tub. Also, they had a note on the front desk that there was no housekeeping due to the Christmas holidays, which we were unaware of at the booking. We didn't want to stay there as there were a lot better/nicer hotels available for lower prices, but we were told that the Manager would call us to resolve our issue. 4 days went by, but no manager made any efforts to even apologize for the lack of services that we paid for. We finally saw manager, Vijay Singh on the site on our last day and tried talking to him. He brushed off our attempt saying that he will review our complaint and get back to us. No action was taken by him until we checked out. Not even a word of apology came out of his mouth. They are compensating their unappealing Industrial location with lack of services. What a shame! Best Western Franchise should be ashamed of letting this management represent their name. It's a shame they are calling this 0-star property a PLUS to fool people.

Horrible staff. Especially the manager. Booked a room here went to check in lady at the front desk wouldn't let me because I had a cash app card I was trying to use For my deposit and refused to rent me a room. I had booked through super and already paid for the room and in order to get a refund best western would have to type a letter on an official letter head of the company explaining why we couldn't rent a room there so I had called and explained this to the manager and told him that's the only way to get my 300$ back and he said that he wouldn't do it because he wasn't making a dime from it smh. Ridiculous unprofessional and rude. Holiday inn is definitely a better choice then this dump.

The hotel is situated near the airport. The inside decor of the hotel was very nicely done. The rooms were nice and cozy. The bed was super comfortable. I slept like a baby. It was extremely quiet considering it was near the airport. The breakfast was really delicious. I will definitely be staying here again.

The mattress felt expensive, the bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure & the continental breakfast was fantastic. I didn't get to use the pool or gym bc of my schedule but both looked really appealing.

A very nice Best Western Plus “off the beaten path”. I had a pleasant stay and a good night's sleep in a very clean room with a great bed. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold items including oatmeal with a variety of toppings - my favorite.

For the location and convenience to the airport, the hotel exceeded my expectations. I was allowed to check in about 4 1/2 hours early, which was a blessing since I'd left home at 5 to take an early plane. I'm also not an early to bed type. The room was beautiful. It had nice wooden furnishings, a desk with an ergonomic chair (I didn't even use the upholstered chair), marble countertops, and comfortable bedding. There is no view, so I would have preferred blackout curtains, but I know it's not 5-star, so it was good enough. I used the folded luggage stand to keep most of the light out. There was a perfectly good bench anyway. The bathtub was roomy and clean. The pool was nice albeit small, but too many people were using it as a daycare service. The jets in the hot tub didn't work. Breakfast was good. I had yogurt, eggs with sausage, bacon, and a waffle with honey. I didn't have any parties or cereal, but those were also options. There were only two types of jelly. I used the capuchino machine in the lobby instead of the big coffee thermos. The entrance is monitored by the front desk for additional safety. The hotel is convenient to multiple bus lines. The BART passes overhead about a block away, but you'd want to take a bus to the station. The hotel arranges Uber to and from the airport. This isn't the hotel's fault, but… I do want to note that I don't recommend being outside the property in this area at night. I tried to walk to a sushi restaurant (which was closed), and it was not a nice evening stroll. I didn't see anyone who looked dangerous, but there are people who take advantage of the shadows. If you do want to venture out, head directly toward a well-lit busier street. The razor wire and litter at nearby businesses don't give warm and fuzzy feelings either.

The stay started Friday 5/19 with a bum in parking lot. Then upon checking in with an unfriendly front desk girl. We got to our room and it smelled like smoke, mostly in the bathroom. During the night a party was going on next door.it ended with a loud thud against our wall like someone was banging into walls or furniture. Then we went down to breakfast. The drugged out bum in parking lot had made his way inside, we had to be locked in the breakfast area while the front staff tried to persuade the bum to get out. He finally left. The only time he is not in parking lot is at night but he leaves behind his garbage. When we left this day he was cutting something white with a credit card and snorting it. Then, this morning 5/21, at 6am someone was knocking on our door. Startled I got up and a large man was trying to get in and when I said I didn't know him he told me, I just called you on the phone. I told him to go away n I don't know him. We left and were never asked how our stay was. We will never come back to Oakland again!

It was okay breakfast is nothing to write home about if the front desk girls are wrong about anything they will argue we used my gf credit card for the deposit and they said just 100 for the weekend returned when we check out they charged her two separate charges of $250 dollars we had to call and ask for it to be returned which they denied but then did it and we had to wait a week to get it back.

Great Free Uber ride to and from the hotel. Free Breakfast, coffee, parking, hot tub. Microwave/ fridge in the rooms - good value. Building itself is old, but good location near the airport. Nice front desk service.

Staying at this hotel was very convenient for dropping off rental car and getting to the Oakland Airport on time! Room was clean, bed was comfortable and staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was adequate.

I stayed a night and enjoyed pool and jacuzzi. Free internet that worked well. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good, coffee was excellent. Good location by lots of restaurants. Pool had extra towels.

There were a few cleanliness issues but mostly the hotel and room were clean. The hotel is right around the block from two city bus stops, one which has a covered waiting area. This is pretty convenient for getting to the Colisuem, which is only a few stops away. The buses were pretty clean and not full of people. That general part of Oakland is not the nicest but the hotel was very quiet. Staff were friendly during all encounters. I would stay here again.

A very clean hotel. The front desk was eager to please. The a/c and heater were inop, probably due to the thermostat needing a battery. I informerd the front desk, and without argument, they offered to give me another room and upon check-out they gave me a discount, without me having to ask! Awesome service! While this hotel is not in a desirable area it was very peacful, and there is a Black Bear Restaurant right around the corner.

This hotel is worn but our rooms were scrupulously clean, and although the neighborhood was pretty rough, it's only about 2 minutes from the Oakland airport, so you just about can't get more convenient. The beds and pillows were comfortable (pillows actually had a bit of support!) and the breakfast was adequate, with eggs, bacon, waffles, and the usual cereals, breads, and yogurt. If I needed to fly out of Oakland again, I might very well stay here again.

I arrived after midnight as I had a confirmed reservation. Upon arrival the front desk clerk said I do not have a reservation. I confirmed the address and correct hotel and showed him my confirmation number. He said it doesn't matter he doesn't have anything in his system. I left the property and standing on sidewalk a few minutes later while I'm on the phone with another hotel trying to get a room after midnight the front desk clerk comes outside yelling at me pounding a 3 foot steel pipe on the ground. I immediately call 911! The front desk clerk went back inside thank God.. I filed a police report. The next day my credit card was charged for the room the front desk guy said I didn't have a reservation. Do not stay here!! The absolute worst experience!! No one should fear for their life checking into a hotel!!!!

This hotel is convenient to the airport-although it a somewhat unexpected neighborhood. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast choices are varied and plentiful and the rooms are clean and maintained. Only drawback is there is nowhere 'close' to eat (walking distance) and the hotel doesn't have a 'market area' with foods that can be re-heated in the room.

Me and my family thoroughly enjoyed our trip the motel was very clean breakfast was amazing I only complaint was the pool had too much chlorine in the hot tub had too much chlorine so we weren't able to utilize that

Having stayed in this area before but at a different hotel, I was hoping for a similar experience. Since I hadn't been to the Oakland area for several years(pre- pandemic), I wasn't sure what to expect (a # of hotels in the area had closed during the pandemic). My expectations were exceeded in almost every respect, particularly with the preparation and presentation of the breakfast offerings(the ladies responsible were very attentive and responsive to Individual requests). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Southwest for no reason and no help canceled our flight, The Best western desk helped book a room and provided safe travel so my daughter and I have a place to sleep. We had a good night sleep and made our trip back to the air to make our flight.

Flew into Oakland airport and stayed 1 night before going to Napa in the morning. Chose this hotel because of proximity to airport and the reviews here. Hotel is nothing like presented on website. Location is very commercial/industrial, felt sketchy, no food nearby. Vending machines VERY limited and didn't accept our credit cards of cash! Check in easy with 1 person working. Free breakfast was fine, typical fare. Room was quite large, bed was actually very comfortable but the rest of the furnishings and carpet were old and worn. Good water pressure and lighting in the bathroom. There are better choices nearby. We will not return.

The website, when I reserved, stated that they offered shuttle service. I had relied on it for transportation to and from airport. They did not meet their end of the agreement. I asked customer service and they did nothing to help. Basically they left me very dissatisfied! I have been a member of best western over 10 years and this was the WORST experience.

We had to rent a car and all other hotels in area charged $10-15 a day to park. Close to Arena was another plus as attending event there. Nice pool and hot tub. Room ok but not as clean as had hoped. Have returned to full breakfast!

Close to airport and concert venue, reasonable cost, clean and quiet. Close enough to have a day trip to downtown San Francisco for two day trip. Black Bear restaurant close by for dining and other food options.

I have a new place to stay when I am in the Bay area. I visit at least 8-10 times a year and I was very impressed by this Hotel. The staff are great. Very helpful and friendly. The hotel is quiet at night and the rooms are big and clean. It is near the Oakland Airport and a short drive from any of the highways or bridges in the Bay area. Plenty of good food nearby. I would highly recommend this Hotel if you are in the area.

This hotel was very good. The staff was warm, friendly and helpful. I had a flight cancellation and needed to stay overnight. They offer a free Uber ride back to the airport. The room was clean, well appointed with anything a traveller would need, comfortable and safe. The decor was a little old but everything was super clean, well cared for and very comfortable. The surrounding area is very industrial near the airport, so this is not a vacationing destination, however for business or travel near the airport it was great!

Our stay here was great and made getting to the airport for an early morning flight very easy. Check-in was quick. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. In the morning we decided that we wanted to leave a little earlier, the front desk staff helped us change our reserved Uber ride with ease. I highly recommend the Best Western Plus. We travel to Oakland a few times every year and this will be where we will stay from now on. The hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful and a hot breakfast was served. The room was very comfortable.

Called in to explain why my card had been charged 3 times for a deposit that was never supposed to happen some employee names jasmine uugh started to state to me that that's normal and when you pay with a debit card that happens … NOW. I know I don't know about her job but I'm not a idiot so don't tell me anything as if I am smh like she's rude and sound extremely young and careless about resolving customers issues they suck at customer service and being honest about their charges I would have never stayed there to be charged 600$ for a deposit so now I'm waiting for a refund that should have never been taken which I need now she's saying 3-15 business days before I receive my money back do not stay here you'll be disappointed and I bet you think of me and this review if you do and don't take heed i promise I'm looking out for you … I definitely regret staying here out of desperation now look at my situation to be in a basic not up to par room with a broken heater missing 400$ to be refunded and raccoon all running through the parking lot and cars horrible Oakland ghetto hotel waste of money

The general manager of year was rude and very much so not understanding of my situation that took place and refused to find some sort of middle ground Pertaining to the situation I expressed to him I expressed to him over and over that I was unable to stay in the room due to a family emergency and he completely neglected it and just kept throwing the hotel policy in my face metaphorically speaking however I expected more from him considering I did pay for the room without any problem or hesitation I just wish that he I was more understanding

Rooms were very clean. Staff was very friendly. Lots of parking spots. Breakfast was very nice. Asked for extra comforter and it arrived in no time. Best value for the price. and it is in a convenient location

From my late night check in to my morning departure, the entire staff was warm, friendly, accommodating, and efficient. The room was clean and welcoming. The hotel is conveniently located near the Oakland Airpot and rental car services, so it was very convenient, especially because I arrived past midnight. I will be back!

I really enjoy staying at this hotel in particular because it stopped there which is real friendly we're always laughing joking and I get checked in real quick I just enjoy the staff that works there.

Room had odor, air conditioner smelled of mold, was woken up by fire alarm malfunction at 6 am only to find out something was broken. When ask staff said it happens all the time no credit received. Horrible experience

Dirty, smelly room... weird, creepy, noisy location. Street lights glare through the flimsy window covers. Masks required, but the desk staff are all wearing chin diapers. What's the point? No airport shuttle. We almost missed our flight because of their lame arrangement with UBER. I could tell by the desk guy's attitude that we wouldn't have been the first! Used my own Uber app when it became apparent that their arranged ride would be another 40 minutes. An airport hotel needs to get you to the airport, period.

Some of the front staff were extremely rude and not hospitable. The manager was not much better, I guess it flows from the top down. Upon arrival while waiting to check in, we witnessed the manager argue with a departing guest whose wife claimed to have been bitten by something in their room. He was defensive, lacked listening skills and professionalism. Guests left unhappy, unheard and unappreciated. They tried to share their experience with us on the way out. When it was our turn, our afternoon check in clerk was ok, but the morning clerk for the next few days was horribly rude and lacked any customer service skills. When I raised these concerns to the Manager (same defensive guy), he defended her. The manager went as far as to say the gal I reported is one of his best workers and proceeded to throw his evening shift worker under the bus saying he could validate my complaint if it was about the evening person, but not the morning gal I encountered. Holy heck, I hate to see what his worst worker is like. Furthermore, what GM turns on his own workers that way? As a former hospitality employee, I could clearly see where they could benefit from training in how to be hospitable and provide good service. It really starts with someone who wants to be of service. Otherwise they are in the wrong job. That said the housekeepers were very nice, hard working and attentive to our needs. Our microwave broke, and they had it replaced while we were out. The bathroom vent never turned off and after reporting it, but were told that's how it is. We had to keep the door closed during our entire stay so it could be quiet in the room. That was annoying but bearable. Breakfast: We had previously been in 8 BW properties prior to arrival in OAK. Most were already serving full breakfast, although one property offered us take out of the full service menu items. At this property, we got coffee in the lobby 1 out of 4 days, and the one day I did was drips from the bottom of the pot. I could not drink it. For the remaining days, if we didn't make it before 9 am, it was cleaned up and taken away. The brown bag take out was sub par. Hot Pockets and microwaveable burritos are not my idea of a nutritious breakfast but I did appreciate the bananas. Unfortunatel microwaveable breakfast items did not cook up properly (once we got our microwave replaced) and the brown bag “meal” in the bag was passed off to me in a very robotic and rude fashion. It felt as if it was an inconvenience on them. I will not stay at this property again. I hope the manager and the owners do a better job of making sure that workers are trained and they hire people who want to be there.

Not the cleanest room I have ever had stayed in for work. Front Desk person (Paloma) totally rude! She really needs to work on her approach especially with guests staying on a corporate account. Was awoken to someone blasting their system before 8:00 am. Definitely will be notifying corporate about this hotel for use of future unscheduled overnights.

Really bad neighborhood, afraid to go out after dark. Rude staff, even though there wasn't anyone here they wouldn't even let us check in an hour early even though we are gold rewards members. After driving 4 hours. King bed with 2 little pillows, no coffee. Breakfast was a joke as well. Staff needs training on treating people nicely. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. I would never stay here again.

Stayed at this best western, staff members where rude. Service was horrible. Room smelled musty. Not a place you want to go outside at night. Won't every stay here again. We have traveled a lot and this place is a joke. If these employees worked for me they would be reprimanded on how they treat there guests.

This hotel used to be my go to lodging when in the area. They have removed all amenities that many other hotels have kept in place or at least try to replicate. They do not provide housekeeping unless specifically requested. When the rooms are cleaned, it is very thoroughly well done.

I spent 4 nights In This hotel, room was never cleaned never stocked with clean towels soap or shampoo and linens weren't changed for all 4 nights, vehicles were vandalized and there's no security looking after the property. To say that this was a really bad experience would be understatement. Take your business elsewhere.

This hotel locks the hotel entrance doors 24 hours a day, so if you leave out make sure somebody's there to open the door for you or you'll have to walk around the building to get in... hopefully the manager can do a better job!

This Best Western is a great place to stay! my daughter and i loved the breakfast!!!! The employees were very welcoming, the property was very neat and clean, Espeically with the COVID-19 happening, i feel that Best Western took action to make sure everyone was very safe.

This is a nice hotel but it's not a safe area. After check-inn we went to a restaurant that the hotel said was close by. There our SUV was broke into while we were eating. The police officer was close by on patrol and indicated there is a lot of this type of break ins occurring in the area. Louisa at the front desk was very helpful, sympatric, and understanding. We were stuck at the hotel while our windows were being replaced. She helped my wife get lunch delivered there.

The hotel was very quiet our whole stay. The room we stayed in was very clean with a lot of space for my little family to move around. The continental breakfast was great with many options for each of us to choose from. My only regret is that we didn't stay long enough to try out the pool (which is and indoor pool). We will stay there again should we travel back out to that area in the future.

Location was like in industrial area had no issues rooms were clean staff was friendly gave recommendations on where to have dinner. Had early morning flight airport near by a parking lot near by park n travel and they shuttle you to airport and pick you up

This was a great place to stay. The staff was courteous and helpful. I experienced bad accommodations at the beginning of my trip and was lucky enough to hear about the Best Western. I cancelled the other hotel and was very happy to book with Best Western Plus Airport Inn & Suites. No matter your reason for staying, you will not be disappointed with them. THEY EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!

I have been using BW for quite some time now and I have not had a reason to complain regardless which BW I stayed at. All locations are convenient to get to which is great. Location in Oakland has pick up and drop off. It would be nice if all locations had the same service.

Love staying here when in Oakland. Within walking distance to the Colisuem. Great breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Shuttle driver very friendly and helpful! Would recommend to anyone visiting or going to a Raiders game.

Very convenient to airport but too expensive. Over $200 for a less than 12 hour stay for a very average hotel near the Oakland Airport in a not so nice area is ridiculous. The shuttle service to the airport was great and the Japanese Restaurant on the corner was very good.

Though I have stayed here before and was very satisfied I can say nothing about our intended stay this time since it didn't happen. Every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving we travel from OAK airport, and in order to catch a 6am flight spend the night before in an airport hotel-last year the Best Western. This year I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance but then cancelled it when the price was $100 more for the same room than the same date the year before. I cancelled it 2 weeks prior to our stay when I found a better price elsewhere and received a confirmation notice and cancellation #. Still, 2 days before our stay I got emails reminding me of my "upcoming stay" then again 1 day before our "stay" another notice. I responded that I had cancelled and gave the cancellation #. Then 2 days after our supposed" stay-which didn't occur! I got emails (3) wanting me to rate our "stay"! Finally I got an email questionnaire to fill our regarding my "stay" I filled it out, negatively, since I didn't stay, then they asked if wished to comment on social media-you bet! So, here I am commenting. I think this hotel chain may need some help in their IT and online departments

I don't usually give 5 stars to any location. On this occasion I have to give the 5. The staff here it's amazing! They were so friendly and accommodating and willing to help us. I wish I could stay at this hotel everytime I travel.

Spent one night here on a layover. Got in at midnight and picked up at airport by hotel shuttle. Super nice driver! At hotel we were promptly greeted and checked in. Newer hotel and room was clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. Had to head out for airport early next morning and shuttle driver again super nice. Overall, a very nice quick stay

we just spent last weekend here for a Raider game and everything was great! Full breakfast each morning, rooms updated and clean, front desk employees very helpful. Best part was their shuttle van will drop you off and pick you up from almost anywhere you want to go!!! they dropped us off for the game and picked us back up when it was over!!! A BIG shout out to Elana who was our driver most of the weekend. Would highly recommend staying here!

Free full breakfast , free parking, indoor pool with jakuzzi, and good service, makes this hotel with having the best value and worthwhile experience. Location sketchy in a industrial area but convenient. Ive never had a bad experience yet at this location .

I had to have surgery the next day so I could not have breakfast but my husband said it was very good. The room was good sized and comfortable except I could not get the desk chair to rise so I sat on a pillow to do some work on my laptop.

The ladies in front desk have a professional mannerism, great personalty, and have great knowledge about the area. The rooms are so clean and smell really good. The pool and spa are so exhilarating. The breakfast is always awesome. The transportation team is always willing to take you to the airport or the Coliseum.

This Best western plus is really close to the oakland airport and is easy access to get there. It was a very comfortable stay and very friendly.staff. will be back and would stay here again most definitely.

While the neighborhood is absolutely nothing to crow about, this is a great hotel. All staff members were fun, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast spread is better than most. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

The hotel is the typical, and consistent with the Best Western Plus brand, but the neighborhood made us a little uncomfortable. That being said the hotel is very good and I would recommend anyone to stay there - just don't be surprised where it is. The hotel manager, staff, and breakfast staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable.

We stayed here prior to our early morning flight. The hotel is off the main road, down a side road. There were homeless people hanging right off property in the morning when we left for our flight at 5:00 AM. I was not comfortable with the location of this hotel.

We had a late flight in to Oakland and a mid morning flight the next day, so we chose this hotel bec a use of the 24 hour shuttle and I read thru reviews where they will shuttle you to area restaurants. By the time we actually got to the hotel and checked in, there wasn't much open in the way of restaurants for us to be shuttled to (Chinese place was closing, there was some pizza place for delivery, and Denny's was open - we were looking for something quick and lite). We ended up ordering a pizza, which sucked and was way overpriced. The room was small and cramped (we were traveling with several large pieces of equipment). The bed slept fine. As for breakfast the next morning - the breakfast room is small, not enough room to get around with what few tables there are to sit at. As for breakfast choices, there were several choices. They had scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage/gravy, sausage links, cereals, breads, etc. The staff is friendly and the hotel is near the airport, which is what we needed.

Luiza at front desk was very pleasant and helpful. Guda in charge of complimentary breakfast was efficient and pleasant. Steven the manager was helpful and knowledgable. Great indoor pool for the grandkids. Wonderful breakfast. Hotel is very well maintained and close to the airport with a well-run shuttle. Area around is industrial and a little run down near the hotel, but we've stayed many times and have had no problems. Hotel is very quiet. Free parking.

The facilities provides nice, clean and comfortable rooms for a good price, compared with the hotels in SF. There is enough parking inside the facilities, there is a pool, fitting room and breakfast included with a variety of options. We stay there for 3 nights and their shuttle took us to the BART station every single day we went to SF. Coming back from SF, we just called to the hotel and they send the shuttle to pick up us at the same station. Everyone on their staff were nice and polite with us, definitively, we will stay there if we visit again SF.

Stayed here as an overnight stop to Hawaii. Place is very clean and people are exceptionally friendly. The price was right but the area is a little industrial. That being said it was unbelievably quiet. We had no car but had pickup at the airport every half hour on the top of the hour. They offer to also take you to the station to go to San Francisco if you wish. Would stay again for an overnight.

Let me preface this with - hotel room was nice and staff was friendly. All good EXCEPT - hotel shuttle to airport. We were downstairs in the lobby at 8:28 - shuttle leaves every half hour. We are sitting with all of our luggage in front of shuttle podium. Shuttle is parked in front. Driver is sitting at the podium. We wait. And wait. Eventually (8:35), my husband speaks to the driver - telling him we expected an 8:30 shuttle. He tells us we have to wait until 9:00!!! Because we didn't tell him at 8:28, when we were standing here doing nothing in front of him with our luggage. Wtf?

We stayed here for four nights as we attended baseball in games in San Francisco (20-40 minute ride) and Oakland (5-minute ride to the Coliseum). Upon arrival, the staff was very helpful and had a good sense of humor. We checked into our room and the A/C was not working properly. While someone did come upstairs and address the issue, it then took several hours for the room to cool off. Nevertheless, the room was otherwise very comfortable and clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Housekeeping did a good job inside the room, but one day, after cleaning it, they left all of the sheets and towels outside the room for the rest of the day and overnight before retrieving them the next morning. The fitness room was clean and the machines were in good working order. Parking is free and there is plenty of space. Breakfast was adequate, although some bacon or sausage would have made it better. (At the front desk, breakfast is advertised with a photo of a hearty serving of bacon!) The wifi in the room is extremely slow, to the point that I gave up and just used my phone as a hotspot. Coffee, tea, and lemon water are available all day and evening in the lobby. The hotel is a very affordable option compared to others in the bay area. It has the potential to be a terrific hotel if they address the minor concerns that I have mentioned.

Hotel is close to the airport and there is free shuttle service to both the airport and BART. Rooms are clean, nice indoor pool. Area is an industrial area, nowhere to walk around. Doesn't matter to us as we take the BART into San Francisco.

I stayed here for the night before a work conference rather than drive to the bay in the morning. Quick check in, nice facilities, friendly staff, typical continental breakfast, neighborhood is sketchy but there is a high fence and security.

This place had the best continental breakfast I've ever had. They provide multiple hot food options along with a waffle making station that has two different flavors available. The free parking and covered pool were also a big plus.

Such a pleasant, relaxing stay. Professional staff, super helpful and accomondating to travellers with elder status >over 85yrs. I would recommend to anyone, and would stay here again-anytime our travelling schedule required a stay.

We have stayed at this hotel for many years when we attend Oakland Athletics baseball games two days in a row since we live out of town. Many people haven't found this place because it's not located on a major street. The parking is free, there is a nice high fence around the parking lot and hotel, and there is Security at night. The hotel desk clerks are friendly and efficient. The lobby and rooms are immaculate, the beds are comfortable, the air conditioning works. Each room has a microwave & small fridge. The self-serve breakfast has hot food items as well as cold. International travelers stay here as well. My only complaint is sometimes there are too many small children running around in the dining room. There are couches in the lobby where one can eat as well. The hotel rate may seem a little high at times, but you get what you pay for. It's very obvious that the employees take pride in their work.

When my family of 4 arrived at the hotel we were told that not only our reservation had been canceled but that we had only booked a 2 person room. We had the confirmation email & reservation on our booking.com app. The concierge, Virginia, insisted that our only option was to purchase a new room as this was “our fault”. When we asked to speak to a supervisor she refused as it was a “weekend and I cannot call him now”. After an hour and half of going in circles, we called booking.com who assured us that our reservation was on their system was active and correct... the mistake had happened somewhere within the hotel database. The booking.com agent talked to Virginia and like us, got nowhere. The agent not only apologized for the situation (that was not booking.com's fault) but also on behalf of the concierge who treated us like a joke. Luckily we were able to be relocated through booking.com. The way the situation was handled was ridiculous. Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience that the hotel had caused but rather blamed us & accused us of wanting a “free room”. She threw in our face that she had been “working here for 15 years” and that “this is the way it is done”. This was by far, the worst customer service experience at any hotel my family & I have received. We will no longer be supporting a hotel chain who blames & belittles their customers for their own mistakes.

I'll start by saying the hotel is surrounded by a tall wall topped with pointed spikes and those topped by razor wire. The nearby Marriott is similarly armed. The whole area is sketchy but the road to the Best Western is horrible: piles of tires and trash, people living in deplorable campers (but you see a lot of that in the area), and scary-looking people. You would not walk anywhere if you're in your right mind. That said, the hotel is mostly very nice, updated, lovely breakfast, nice desk clerk. Our internal beefs: the place didn't seem full, but we were assigned a room next to the elevator (maybe because I paid with points?); the bathroom door would not stay open (all the slamming got annoying). And there's no hotel shop to buy wine, microwave foods, etc. Then there was the shuttle; they do not pick up at the car rental return at the airport, so we had to drop off the car and take the airport bus to the terminal. We called for the hotel shuttle and were told it would be there in 15 minutes. Half an hour later, no shuttle; we called and it showed up 10 minutes later. We got to the hotel and the clerk said the manager forgot to tell the shuttle driver we were waiting in the cold wind at the airport. We had not eaten lunch and wanted to go to dinner, but no way were we trusting that shuttle system, so we had snacks. At check-in, the manager was talking so loudly to several women that we had to keep asking the clerk to repeat herself, and my husband finally said "They are screaming; we can't hear!". But the guy 4 ft away ignored us. I know that sounds ridiculous, but we are not hearing-impaired, they were that loud. This was our first and only time at this property. We regularly stay at Best Westerns in Santa Rosa and Kennewick and enjoy them, but not here.

We only stayed at this hotel for one night (long layover). Once inside the building everything was perfect. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Two downsides to be aware of: 1) The hotel is located in a rough part of town. You won't want to walk the neighborhood. Take the shuttle to the hotel and hunker down. 2) If you leave the hotel before breakfast is served you will be provided a to-go bag of food. Nice gesture, but ours included three items: a nutri-grain bar, a soft apple and a juice at room-temperature. We felt that, at the very least, the juice should have been chilled.

Check-in was painless and quick. Great staff and service. Room was clean and was given a king size suite. Bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure with an adjustable head. Continental breakfast was good, and upon check out the early morning rif-raf was walking about, looking for cigarette butts and any food scraps. I had a woman approach me for money, she needed it because she was pregnant and scrounging the trash for cigarettes. Needless to say I left before her emotional level became ballistic. Make sure that when you stay, watch your back and surroundings. Other than that, a great place to lay your head.

Even though upon checking in I was warned to keep valuables out of my vehicle, I proceeded with check in... watching the shadowy figures outside eyeball my belongings, wondering if I will find my vehicle ransacked and thrashed by these lecharous crack-heads and boozers looking for loot. The room was quaint, a faint aroma of Lysol and sweaty socks lingering inside. The bed was firm, sheets crisp, pillows fluffy. The carpet had seen better days, and I felt compelled to wear my sneakers 24/7 so I didn't step on the gallons of spend semen already ground into the fibers. The ice machine on my floor was inoperable and I was forced to wander down to the 2nd floor, where the local gangsters had apparently deplaned by the ever-present aroma of marijuana wafting about the area.

These guys try really hard to make this hotel welcoming, safe, clean, and desirable. Last visit I had a few minor issues but tried to soften criticism by saying "It is what it is," which is an airport hotel. You are probably going to stay here one night before or after your flight unless you have some business in town or are attending an event. This is not a hotel where you can walk to very many restaurants and other activities. But still and all, It is very nice and reasonably priced for the airport area, especially since they do offer an airport/local restaurant shuttle and a nice breakfast. As we discovered on this stay, there are also a number of restaurants willing to deliver food. (It would be good if a local dining delivery guide was provided in the room.) Our welcome and departure on this stay was friendly and efficient. Parking was more than ample and totally safe. (On a related note, there are a number of service stations on the main drag just a block or two away to gas up before you turn in your rental car, so that is a nice convenience.) Our room on this stay was clean and pretty well-appointed. It was also much quieter than our first visit, even though our view was kind of a factory setting. I think the fitness room needs some work, but other than that, I really honestly don't think that you will find a better airport hotel for the money.

As others mentioned, the location of this hotel is in a bit of a sketchy area. I don't think you'd be able to walk to anything nearby. However, the rooms are nice and updated. I did think using the neon green paint in the hallways was an interesting paint choice though. The staff was friendly and nice. And having the shuttle service is a plus.

Hotel itself was nice inside. Breakfast area was small and hard to move around to get food. Area surrounding the hotel wasn't the nicest, but the free shuttle to a couple of restaurants was great. Good for a one night business stay with a group.

Excellent hotel. Very reasonably priced and includes breakfast. They provide a shuttle to Bart and the Airport. The staff is excellent and the rooms and beautiful and spacious. The bed was very comfortable as well.

Clean, quiet rooms. Front desk staff very welcoming. Ciller (Priscilla) takes genuine interest in guests. Shuttle service schedules every 30 minutes to airport, alternating with BART/restaurant service on the quarter hour. Pool and hot tub provide a handicap lift chair. Breakfast now has almond milk and steamed vegetables along with the standard cereal, eggs, waffles. Note that the neighborhood is industrial, offering no scenery or restaurants within strolling distance. Take the shuttle for local restaurant or BART to SF, Berkeley, or Lake Merritt for walking or restaurants. Also, this is a 5 star for airport hotel category, not Four Seasons category:)

Hidden away in a commercial/industrial area near Oakland Airport, this property is a little gem. Friendly staff, clean, updated rooms, and spacious suites - I'd come back here any time. If there's one thing I'd improve it would be to get a little humidity int to fkrced air heating.

We stayed here twice prior to our flights. They offer complimentary shuttle to the airport and surrounding restaurants. The shuttle drivers are fabulous: they take care of the luggage and take you when you arrive without any schedule: Vivian, Lee and Larry were all great. We were recognized as BW rewards member and both nights updated to a suite and also offered a snack bag with bottle water and trail mix and given points for spending the night. There is a complimentary breakfast that offered cold and hot foods, assortment of breads, yogurt, oatmeal and juice. We left prior to breakfast 1 day and was given a "to go bag" with breakfast bar, juice and fruit. The little extras are a fabulous way of appreciating the customer. There is a 24 hr complimentary coffee in the lobby: wish they offered hot water for tea. The room is very comfortable: coffee maker, microwave and refrig. The king bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. This was a great clean hotel with lots of extras in a safe neighborhood with complimentary breakfast, shuttle and indoor pool and I would recommend staying here.

Very clean hotel all the staff were very helpful and courteous nice selection of breakfast items . Hotel has an indoor pool which is nice if you like using hotel pools. Overall very satisfied with this hotel .I don't really watch TV so no input on TV selection

For being near the freeway it is very quiet. On our first visit it was hard to find but we have learned how to reach the "loop" and now go right to it. I have lost count on how many times we have stayed. The food, staff, and facilities are great for the price. We especially enjoy the cats that great us in the parking lot. It is fun and reminds us of home.

Lots to like about this place, overall a good value. The rooms are beyond spacious -- I honestly thought they'd put me in a suite by accident! -- spotlessly clean, comfy beds and the shower is great. Lots of hot water, strong pressure. Loved the pool and Jacuzzi. The only downside is a somewhat sketchy neighborhood. Industrial, homeless people hanging around. If you enjoy taking a leisurely stroll or a power walk around your hotel's neighborhood, this is not the place for you. But once you're inside, it is overall a lovely experience.

We did the wine country and flew into Oakland instead of San Francisco, which was a great choice. We have an early flight in the morning, so drove back earlier today. We returned our rental car and the shuttle from the best western picked us up at the airport and took us to a sports bar. We called them for a free pick up when we were done there. Excellent service, the hotel has been redone, very clean everywhere! I'm very impressed! I would definitely stay here again.

Virginia at the front desk needs to be re-trained. After a five hour flight, I walked in around 11 p.m on a Thursday to check-in. She looked at me and then proceeded to totally ignore me. No greeting, no acknowledgement, nothing. Apparently it was a shift change and she wasn't ready to assist me, even though she did answer the phone while I was still standing there waiting to be helped. The woman going off-shift noticed Virginia's rudeness and came back to check me in herself and she was very nice. I was reserved here for five days and if it wasn't for her, I would not have stayed the entire time. Seriously, I wanted to cry. On the upside, the housekeeping staff here was amazing. I was on the third floor and my room was cleaned exceptionally well every day. Like better than any other hotel I've been in. And the kind woman in the breakfast area who starts every day at 5 a.m was also wonderful, offering to heat my tea if the hot water wasn't hot enough and even helping me up to my room with my bags one day. Yeah, Virginia cost y'all a star in this review.

We loved our pre & post Hawaii trip stays here. The graveyard shift shuttle driver is amazing and made us feel so welcome. He even packed us breakfast on the morning we had to leave before the hotel's complimentary breakfast was ready. Clean, quite & comfortable. Would absolutely not hesitate to stay again and again.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at this Best Western near the airport for my trip to Maryland in October of last year. I was impressed at how close to the airport it was, and how efficient and friendly the staff was. And the room was large and clean, and so was the bathroom. I was really impressed. I told all my friends! I would stay there again, next time I need to go to the Oakland airport!

Located near the airport and the BARTD rapid transit system, this Best Western Plus hotel is in a quiet neighborood with closeby restaurants. Within walking distance of the Oakland Coliseum. Excellent included breakfast that has a varety of choices during the week, a friendly staff, and excellent shuttle service, we'll stay here on our return to the Bay Area.

The hotel has excellent shuttle service. The pick you up and take you to the airport, the stadium, and anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel free of charge. Nice hot breakfast and comfortable beds. You can't go wrong if you choose to stay at this hotel.

Checked in late so wanted to check in and print boarding passes. Couldn't get online. Desk person had to reboot connection. Still couldn't get online. Went up to room to see if I could get on WiFi. No! Unable to use WiFi!

I stay at this Best Western every time I am in the San Francisco area. I very much enjoy the newly remodled entry and I stay in a suite that is spacious and quite accomodating. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I will stay there again

Conveniently located close to oakland airport and Coliseum, and they provide a free shuttle service which will pick you up, and take you to airport, coliseum and restaurants near by. Also I found the room to be large and comfortalbe

All I can say is "Really? Wow!" First, I'd like to say I have been traveling for over 30 years and that this is the first online review I have ever made, but I feel people need to know how THIS Best Western hotel treats it's valued guests. (Please note, I am a Platinum Member of Best Western Hotels.) All I can really say is, BEWARE of submitting an honest survey (no matter how nice it is) because if the hotel doesn't like what you have to say or the numerical rating you give, they do not allow you to return. Here's what happened: After staying at the Best Western Plus Airport Inn & Suites in Oakland, California in October 2018, I received an email from Best Western asking me to complete a hotel survey. I thought the purpose of surveys are to make management aware of both good and not-so-good issues so that they can strive to improve. So, I answered truthfully… I wrote in the survey the following: (1) Safety issue: the bathroom door hinge was dangerously separating from the door; (2) Customer service: I noted their evening customer service person could have communicated a little better to us because when we called from the airport for shuttle service (it was 8:04 pm), we were told they would send the shuttle right away. However, 20 minutes later the shuttle had not arrived. Knowing it only takes 5 minutes for the shuttle to arrive, I called again and was told that the shuttle would not be leaving until 8:30 because it leaves only on the ½ hour. Which is fine, but please do not tell me that you will send it right away. It was quite cold outside and I would have waited inside the airport. To make matters worse, when the shuttle driver did arrive, he did not say a word to us and continued to be silent the entire ride, including when he dropped us off at the hotel. (I guess you have to call them before the ½ hour mark, and not 4 minutes late.) However, I also noted the morning shuttle driver was very nice. (3) Breakfast: I suggested they offer bran cereal for breakfast; (4) Bedding: I noted I liked their pillows. That's it. That is all I said. Maybe they didn't read my comments and only looked at the zero through ten numbers. (I gave them mostly 6 or less.) I don't know, but their response was offending because… Shortly after my responding to their survey, I received an email from the assistance general manager indicating that due to our negative survey, they no longer want us to stay at their property. Really? Wow! I am very disappointed that management does not appreciate it's customers feedback in an effort to improve it's service, especially when they charge so much for their rooms. All I can say is, BEWARE of their customer reviews and ratings. They apparently are skewed for this hotel. If management does not like what you have to say, they do not allow you to return.

Stayed here for 3 night for business. Most of the hotels around the area were booked, guess something going on in the area. This hotel is tucked in the back of a school and behind the Courtyard Marriott, you wouldn't even know it's there. It is gated with free parking, not the greatest place to walk around but clean & service was good. There is an indoor pool, nice exercise room and free breakfast provided in the morning. Breakfast was good, which included eggs, bacon, pastries, fresh fruit, oatmeal, coffee/tea and a waffle maker for fresh waffles. There is also free scheduled shuttle service to the airport and BART station. Only downside is you don't want to walk around at night although there are places to eat close by on Hegenberger. Room was comfortable and clean which included a small refrigerator and microwave. Again, the only uncomfortable thing were the pillows, I just couldn't find one that worked for my neck. Will be back again only if the other hotels are booked up.

First of all, I will be staying here again in the future when I need to do an overnight before flying out of Oakland. Convenient location, pretty good breakfast, comfortable room, good security, and very fair price. Plenty of free parking, as well. I think it might be just fine if you were going to a nearby sports event or concert, as well. That said, it is a tough part of town, a little noisy at night because of sirens and traffic. Employees are nice, but on a fairly mild day, we walked into a very nice room that was not so nice because it was stuffy and well over 80 degrees. Weren't they expecting company? Turn on the AC or fan, doggone it. We did not have a bad experience here, but there are no restaurants in walking distance. Think there is a shuttle if you don't feel like driving around. There are many many many other places near the airport that are much much much worse, so that said, I'll be back here because the employees are nice, the rooms and commons areas are clean and very comfortable, and it is a good over-nighter.

Nothing really stood out here. The lobby, parking area, and staff were all nice! The indoor pool was awesome! The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, we actually skipped it the 2nd day and went to eat at the zoo before walking around. There is a lot of room for improvement at breakfast.

After an unexpected six hour delay on our Norwegian flight from Barcelona which caused us to miss two scheduled connecting flights we had to spend the night at the Oakland airport. We were very fortunate to find availability at this Best Western Plus. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The airport shuttle was prompt and professional. The room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!!

We like Best Western hotels and I am a member of their Points Scheme. In the past four or five weeks, we have probably spent seven to ten nights in Best Western Hotels. So it came as a surprise to me that our night at the Best Western Plus Airport Inn & Suites in San Francisco did not include an accessible bathroom, although this was what we had requested. We were told in a curt way that the hotel had none - obviously those of us in wheelchairs are not meant to travel. The receptionists when we arrived were rude and unhelpful, and continued in that vein until our departure. On top of this, the noise that the hotel employees made during the night and morning of our stay was appallingly noisy and unnecessary. Why clean and vacuume the eating area floors during the breakfast times, (the only time during which the hotel guests can use that space)? I was quite upset about the entire experience, especially in regard to the unhelpful employees.

We normally travel for business however due to a performance at a local venue, we were traveling for leisure. When we attempted to use our BW Rewards points for the room at this hotel, we were informed that the our points were ineligible to be used for the room. When we paid for the room, we were asked if we wanted a gift bag or points added to our account. Ironic that the hotel will allow you to earn points when you pay for a room but they won't let you expend your saved points. We are rethinking our BW membership.

Shuttle to and from Oakland airport and Oracle Areana made getting around easy for an out of towner. Friendly staff, very accommodating. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Could use an extra mirror. Breakfast was good, had a variety and was fresh.

I have stayed at this hotel many times for past business trips. The staff and hotel itself are delightful. The only issue is have is the location. It is in an industrial area off of the main road. The directions are somewhat confusing. Other than that, I had a good stay.

The staff is awesome here. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this hotel. The hotel shuttle service to and from the airport is fast, courteous and at-your-service. The breakfast is more than adequate and coffee and ice water is available 24 hours a day. It is quiet and the rooms are clean and beds comfortable. The wifi works and is free. I needed a phone charger at midnight and the shuttle van took me to a local gas station to buy one and accompanied me inside. Can't ask for more of a hotel. Elsa at the front desk is capable and helpful and so nice. Don't discount this hotel based on some negative reviews. Haters are gonna hate.

The shuttle will take you to neighborhood restaurants as well as the airport. The area is not walkable at night, but the hotel is very serviceable and safe. Beds were super comfortable and staff was excellent.

parking was free, breakfast free. room was very nice. quiet and peaceful area. close to airport. There was an indoor swimming pool. Easy access to the freeway. There are a lot of nice eateries in the area.

Very sketchy location, kinda freaked out upon arrival...but kept thinking of all the good reviews. No one mentioned the location, although convenient to the airport, barred & trashy & scary quite frankly. The room was HUGE & beautiful. Clean, great bed, walk in tile shower...obviously the reason the ratings are so good. Eat before you get there though, very few choices and nobody delivers here...which I thought was odd. Early flight, so missed breakfast.

The hotel has a major problem with loud noise from its bathroom pipes that cause problems in the rooms below the pipes. Not all rooms suffer so chose rooms facing the courtyard. The breakfast is adequate and staff very helpful. The reception staff are very helpful. The shuttle to the airport is fast and efficient. The parking is free which is a major plus. There is diner close by, the black bear diner ,which is great. Being close to the Raiders coliseum is also helpful to fans. The bed was good but no safe or free water in the room.

Area pretty bad, breakfast good staff nice room was clean but noisy and had some issues with the bathroom. Could hear everything outside and inside esp being by elevator. Bed wasn't that comfortable too soft if that could be a thing.

My husband and I stay here overnight when we attend Oakland A's baseball games 2 days in a row. Most people wouldn't even know it's here because it's not on the main street, which means it's in a quiet location. It's a 3 story hotel, very nice decor, well-kept, comfortable beds, air-conditioning, nice TVs, very secure and free parking. Free breakfast every morning - serve yourself - only drawback is the breakfast room can get a little crowded. Indoor pool, exercise room. Very friendly staff - Luiza at the front desk always remembers us. We've been staying here for several years.

Before I had a kid, I used to come here every year when the Yankees visited the A's. It was my base of operations for a week of pure baseball fun. Now I can only get away for one night each year and the family tags along, but this is still the property I return to. The reasons are simple: The shuttle. It leaves from the hotel, drops you off at the ballpark and picks you back up again. Couldn't be easier, especially if you hate the mass exodus at the end of a game or have enjoyed a few cold ones too many. It has a pool! Now, I've never actually used the pool, but it's nice to know it's there if I need it. The staff. They've always been polite and helpful. The location. Yes, it's hidden away in an industrial area. But I suspect that's what keeps the rates competitive. There's a great Asian restaurant within walking distance and some more conventional fare is a short drive away. Now, this place isn't perfect. The industrial area isn't glamorous and is visited by interesting characters. In this visit I traveled with family and friends. My friends were sent to an already occupied room upon check in. My family and I were sent to a room that still had the beds stripped and the linen piled up in the corner. Not cool. Also, the shower rod in our room looked like it was ready to fall out of the wall. A lawsuit in the making? But all things considered, this is still my home away from home when I come to see the game. There is no crying in baseball!

Highly recommend this Best Western. Very caring and professional staff. Room was outstanding and very quiet. Best Western very close to airport and downtown Oakland. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We chose this hotel because hotels in san francisco are very expensive . So we wanted to stay close by and within budget. it was a good choice. there is a shuttle bus every fifteen minutes to drop at coliseum train station and you can catch the train and within 20 minutes you can reach union square station in SF. Rooms are cozy and spacious. bathrooms are really good size. enough place for keeping luggage. free car parking is available. indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi facility available, you can wash your laundry in the laundromat . breakfast is quite good. there is coffee machine and water dispenser the lobby area. hotel staff is freindly, we had a good stay.

Service desk was amazing , she was kind and explained everything very well . Breakfast was decent could of been better but overall great place to stay ,loved the 18 and over age limit makes it a lot easier to get a decent room being under 21

We got there very late and needed a hotel to stay the night. The room was clean and the breakfast was average. My big issue was the neighborhood that surrounds the are, it is not safe and i would not walk to stores at night or during the day. They do have a shuttle to and from the airport and the Bart station which was very helpful.

We researched a lot to find the best option for our late flight to Oakland and the early flight from OAK airport the morning after. And it was the right decision. I called BW reception for the shuttle service from the airport and they told me the exact place to go. WE only waited for 5-10 minutes. Quick check-in and a big and spacious room to sleep. Very comfortable rooms. The weakest point was breakfast, as usual. Insufficient and at very inconvenient hours (from 6 to 9 a.m.). Nothing to comment on the surroundings but what we could see from the shuttle was the typical depressed industrial areas.

We arrived on a flight at 2am and called the hotel to let them know. I believe it was Vivian who picked us up and told us information about the hotel and Barbara that checked us in. The were both very pleasant and knowledgeable ladies. We did drive through a sketchy area but the hotel itself felt safe. Our room was clean, nice, and roomy. I believe I saw a Refrigerator and coffeemaker which we weren't there long enough to use. My husband said the breakfast was mediocre but ok. I would stay here again.

The airport in Oakland, CA is one of the toughest areas to find a decent hotel, with most hotels in the area being 2 or 3-star properties located in the nearby bad part of town. This property does a decent job of shielding you from that, although I would've preferred better security for the property, car lot, and rooms (although I had no problem). Breakfast provided is typical, mediocre, continental breakfast. Staff was nice, although it took 10-15 minutes to check me in late at night with no other customers in the queue. This hotel is overpriced compared to other Best Western Pluses I've stayed in, however, low supply and high demand keep prices high, and this hotel is less expensive than similar options in the area.

My husband and I stayed here 1night before our flight out of Oakland. We dropped our car rental and caught their shuttle to the hotel. It is approximately 5 min to the airport. We were given a very nice room on the 3rd floor. It was spacious and had a microwave and refrigerator. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer breakfast but we had to leave before it opened. We had a great stay and definitely recommend it.

Great that you just call and airport pickup arrives Area hotel is in is not great as seems surrounded by industrial units. Check in really friendly and room was big. Bed was big. Air conditioning cool and room dark for a good sleep Plus great WiFi and big tv. Breakfast is basic but plenty of bacon, plenty of coffee and plenty of different bread. So happy Check out poor, couldn't be bothered to acknowledge. Could be bothered to sort lift back to airport to start car hire. Shame.

We were going to stay in Mill Valley but got in early so we crossed the two bridges and ended up here. Was kind of in a sketchy area but it was a good place. Also a great shuttle to take you to the airport and surrounding places to eat. An added bonus for sure.

The location left alot to be desired would not stay here again especially as I have seen the location of other airport hotels the hotel was in an industrial area the reception staff not that helpful could smell the pool chloride downstairs. The b w transport to the bart was fine going but coming back had to wait over half an hour in an extremely unpleasant area of the bart station would not use there transport again I am glad it was daylight the room was okay a lthough they did not replace coffeethe breakfast nothing special free breakfast fair usual eggs sausage etc

This simply put....is a GREAT PLACE TO STAY!!! Read one review about the "seedy area".....don't know where they stayed!!!! Sure it's not downtown, but there was nothing wrong here...lobby area, grounds and facilities are kept up most nicely and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!! The entire staff were most friendly and helpful...not one negative experience!!! We met Sabrina (Darlin'...her favorite word) upon arrival and you couldn't ask for a better greeter and person! As for our room...King suite was everything and more...clean, comfortable bed and attractive! The next morning we met the manager...Dapper Steve!!!!...pink shirt, matching tie and dark suit with a vest...DAPPER PLUS!!!! He was just as friendly as Sabrina and was most helpful with info regarding the BART system. The shuttle runs on the 15 and 45 after the hour...to the BART or wherever locally (airport, local restaurants...) you need to go.Our stay here was so great that you almost felt like you were staying with friends! In fact, we feel we made new friends here!!!! The parking lot is well lit with security and is fenced so there is no reason to worry! And again, the landscaping is most welcoming and right away we knew that we had picked the right hotel! Thanks to all the van drivers (BART and the van is the only way to go to downtown Berkeley), all the front desk folks, and the breakfast staff. Speaking of the breakfast room..."always" a staff member re-stocking items and available should you need anything. The area is large enough to accommodate guests and the food variety was fine and good!!! And finally, the inside pool and hot tub area is like everything else at this hotel...excellent and clean conditions. Thanks to all your staff Dapper Steve...you made for a great four days to watch the Oregon Duck Softball team win the PAC-12 Championship. Next time in the area we'll come your way!!!

While not a garden spot in North Hollywood, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room and the friendliness of the staff. I will DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again when in the Burbank area. Breakfast was continually re-stocked and tables cleaned. Beds super comfortable too!

The Oakland area is saturated with homeless bums. This hotel tries to keep things good with a fence and some good security measures. I really like the indoor pool and spa. The price has moved up but it it still reasonable for the overpriced SF bay area.

The ladies at the Front Desk always greet you with a friendly personality. The hotel roomsalways smells good and are very clean. The convenience of having a ride to the game and back is always appreciated. The food in the breakfast room is fantastic!!

The hotel staff were courteous and friendly. The hotel was located near the airport and there was a restaurant nearby. The rooms were clean. There was a swimming pool and fitness centre for those who enjoy swimming and working out.

Noisy motor noise from behind bathroom wall, carpet/decor outdated. Some staff very nice, others, not so much. Feral cats in parking lot. Some employees said they are fed and cared for, others said “they need to gotten rid of”. Suggest hotel have a policy on the cats and post it. Either care for them or seek help to relocate. people in room next to me reported bed bugs.

4 night stay while in town for a wedding. I selected this hotel based on reviews, free parking, free hot breakfast and free in-room wifi. Location not in an attractive area but easy access freeway and shops/restaurants.

The hotel is located in an industrial area. Yet the hotel itself is very clean and modern looking. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We walked a few blocks to a local restaurant at night and felt safe.

The room was clean and with many clean pillows. The wi-fi was great so one can use their smarth phone or computer with ease. The breakfast has the standard eggs and bacon or sausages, with oatmeal, yogurt, cold cereal, waffles, fruit juices, fresh fruit, and of course plenty of coffee and pastries. One thing a little different was the occasional steam vegetables for breakfast. Most of the hotel personal are nice and work hard to make one's stay pleasant but the front staff is hit or miss in their services and attitude but otherwise a good bang for ones buck.

Hotel was clean with easy access to the Oakland airport. Very friendly staff and their shuttle service not only goes to the airport but local restaurants and destinations as well. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable and the breakfast had many choices. Next time in Oakland I will stay here again.

If you're doing any business near Oakland airport, this hotel is convenient (with free shuttle service), value priced and staffed with friendly and helpful employees. Room price was nearly half of competition down the road where my work meeting was held, so I stayed here and took free shuttle to meeting. Bargain!

Motel excellent, except that the heat didn't work in my room the Air conditioning worked fine, but not the heat (same unit!) Good van service to OAK, Oakland International Airport, but if arriving at the airport, you'll have to call the hotel and wait...

We attended a Warriors game so I'd researched whether to stay in Oakland or in a suburb (to Uber to game etc), but we decided to just stay close to the Oracle when we found this hotel & we're glad that we did. Hotel is very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff are very friendly making themselves available for questions etc. You're given a hotel info sheet upon check-in and lists nearby restaurants etc. They have a free shuttle service to airport AND they'll take you to Bart station (if you're going to a game etc) as well as pick you up afterward! They'll even take you to the nearby restaurants! It isn't in the best area as we were apprehensive pulling into area but once we were here all was well. I'd stay here again. Beds are super comfy too!

We stayed here as a fall back option when our normal hotels in Oakland were sold out. This place was run down and and not up to the standards we usually expect at the price we paid. I'd recommend other alternatives to this hotel in Oakland.

Perfectly reasonable airport hotel. Staff helpful. Bed comfortable and room clean. Used their shuttle. Note it isn't automatic. You need to phone them; it operares at 00 and 30. Also note there os no bar etc on site. However, got an $8 Uber to some local breweries.

We have used this hotel several times for an overnite stay before a flight home. It is very convenient to the airport, the rooms are large and the complementary breakfast is good. However, the bathroom door which has a spring loaded door closer is a pain in the butt. And having the bed up against the thru-the-wall HVAC unit is an aggrievation. It was cold (Winter) so we had hot air blowing directly on the bed. We will be looking for a different hotel next trip.

The location is a bit scary due to the surrounding neighborhood. However the place is very clean inside and out. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The night lady was very friendly and happy to greet us and check us in. Recently stayed at another well known hotel in the area paid 175.00 for parking, old rooms, no breakfast. We came back to this BW and paid less for a better stay. Only downside were the pillows.

Stayed here after an Oakland Raiders game. They offer a free shuttle, free wi-fi, free parking, and it's within walking distance to the coliseum. Only down to this hotel is the area isn't the best, but it was quiet and had no problems walking back to the hotel at night after the game. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was extensive, just about everything you could think of. Staff were friendly. Price was good. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel for an overnight stay.

returning late from Hawaii, I needed a good night's sleep before ranking the long 7 hour drive home. This was a good choice. Nice clean hotel with helpful staff. They provide a shuttle out if you want to grab a bite to eat which is very helpful. A nice breakfast and you are on your way. It is close to the Oakland Airport.

I have routinely stayed at this hotel for the past 3 years, The staff is always awesome. The room always comfortable. And it is surprisingly quiet. This part of Oakland is pretty rough, but I have never had any safety issues either.

The only reason it gets 1 star, is because I had to give it something. I checked in late, the "ladies" at the front wouldn't even unlock the door, they talked to me and checked me in through the glass. Treated me as though I was a criminal. I drove a uhaul in and the one older lady told me repeatedly to move it to the street. I had to tell her at least 5 times I would. When I went to move it, after being idly checked in, a gentleman in uniform told me to just park it in the back instead. Not even 10 minutes later the lady from upfront called my room room and threatningly told me to move it. When I told them about the gentleman telling me to park there she went, "well okay." No apology or anything. When I checked out, there was an extra $100 fee no one told me about. And not even an hour ago I looked again and there was another $250 taken out for a "pet cleaning". DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED AND HARRASSED.

Nice airport motel. Got my rental car broken into at the sushi restaurant down the street. In and Out, and a Black Bear Diner across the street. Twenty minute drive to Alameda, five minutes to the airport.

Everything in general was fine with the hotel except, there was a very, very loud fan noise coming from the bathroom and it wasn't the bathrooms fan it was coming from the roof of the hotel according to the front desk person. The front desk person said it couldn't be turned off and is always like that. If I have other options I would stay somewhere else.

This hotel was not placed in the best area; however, it was a great find after all. Overall experience was great -clean rooms; great amenities; close freeway access. Staff was pleasant and helpful. A great place to stay.

I like this hotel and will stay here again, in spite of the obvious seediness of the area. Homeless bums outside on the street that have some tendency to wander into the property, which is well fenced but of course has to have an entrance. The price is about par for the expensive bay area, higher than many BW in less costly areas, but still accessible. The staff seems to be well trained and friendly, and the rooms are very adequate. I got a free upgrade to a mini-suite which was a nice touch. I believe the hotel employs a night-time security guard and given the area, they need it.

Hotels near Oakland airport can range from poor to sleazy to hostile. This one was actually pleasant and the staff were very friendly, kind, and helpful. Spotless room, nice amenities, 24 hour shuttle.

This hotel is great. the location is perfect due to the shuttle to local events (games) , airport, bart, and area restaurants. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and quiet. Check in person was very personable. Was a assigned room on third floor but got a first floor room. Got back after dinner and parking lot was full including the two handicap parking spaces. Had to wait till someone left.

Stayed here for Raiders games. Hotel Shuttle dropped us at the game - we walked back, approx 25 minute walk but faster than traffic. Room was clean and quiet. Starbucks and Raider image stores around the corner. Highly recommended for game trips!

This hotel is clean and comfortable , great staff Lee great shuttle driver, the grounds are well maintained with trees and gardens. close to o.com for football or baseball and a free shuttle ride there and back. We would return to this location if and when we return to Oakland for a Raiders game, the Bart rail will take you to San Francisco to see the sights.

I stayed here when I attended the Oakland Raiders/Baltimore Ravens game and I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied! The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful! They have a shuttle that will take you to and from the airport, as well as to and from the stadium and almost ANYWHERE else you want to go in the immediate area which was very helpful! The free breakfast in lobby offered a great variety of healthy and comfort foods. And the hotel is very conveniently located near tons of restaurants and very close to the airport. I highly recommend this hotel if you ever need to stay in this area!

I called the hotel from the airport to use the shuttle and they arrived very quick.Vivian was super friendly and informative. She took us to the Coliseum Bart station the next day in the shuttle and returned to get us that night. It was about a 30 minute ride on the Bart to San Francisco. Very easy to use! The room was quiet and the breakfast was awesome. We felt safe, even though some may find the area a little sketchy. There are numerous hotels in the area. I would stay here again.

We had a short stay at Best Western before our flight out of Oakland international airport. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and spacious. The shuttle service was quick and easy. I would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed here for 7 nights. The entire staff was courteous and willing to help with our requests. The breakfast (included in the room rate) has a full variety of breakfast items available, i.e. hot oatmeal, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit, sausage, yogurts, bagels, juices, coffee, etc. The bed is very comfortable, nice towels, and soft water. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The BW shuttle bus drove us to Hegenburger's which is an awesome non-tourist burger/chinese restaurant. The BW is in an industrial area so the customers at Hegenberger's filled the place at lunch time. Be sure and ask for the special bun which is baked at a bakery in Alameda for Hegenberg's business every day. The bun tastes like “butter”. The first night was noisy - until I realized the window was open the next morning. After I closed the window it was very quiet. The hotel is far away from my family in Oakland but it is worth the drive. Also, the a/c unit is extremely quiet which made a big hit with me. I will definitely stay at this BW again in the future.

This would be a perfect hotel if the location were better. Comfortable room, airport shuttle and full hot breakfast included. Also the shuttle will take you to the Coliseum BART station. Friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in room 209. The person above was frequently stomping around. Also were were next to some type of tire place with one employee playing loud music in his car. The location is in a very industrial area, NOTHING in walking distance and no restaurant on-site. Looked unsafe to leave the hotel property even in the day time. They do not sell any food or beverages on-site except for vending machines. This hotel was fine for our final night given its airport location but they should at least have a convenience store on-site to sell sandwiches, beer and wine. I would not recommend an extended stay here given it's location.

I stay at this Best Western whenever I am visiting the area and it consistently meets my expectations. The breakfast is great and the staff are helpful. The amenities make it worth the stay. Will stay here again.

The hotel seemed recently remodeled. Staff members were great! The pool and spa were nice and a great way to relax after a long day. The room was nice with wifi, fridge and microwave. We checked out at 4:30 a.m. and were given breakfast bags to take to the airport with us (very nice touch!). The USA Today was already delivered for the day. The airport rental car return was just down the street - very convenient. The area around the airport and motel don't seem the greatest but I felt safe. I recommend this location. There is a free shuttle to/from the airport which would have been convenient if we didn't already have the car.

Great staff, great rooms, great beds! Excellent customer service and great security (airport hotels are full of criminals looking for cars to break in). The rooms are very clean. The price is very good for the convenience to the airport. Every bit as good as the Big names in the area.

Initially it was difficult to locate the hotel as 2 GPSs could not find it, but Google Maps did the trick. The hotel was standard in every way, but the rooms were somewhat small. check-in was slow as there were issues with the computer server that the credit card machine is connected to. everything else was fine. Generally there is no good view, but higher floors are better.

Nice rooms, but didn't like that the bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke! Clean room, and the layout is cool. BUT, our ac was leaking and the carpet was a little wet by the bed, by the window. Oh and it was pretty quiet for a Saturday night!!!

A homeless camp is a block away and the street is littered with trash and dumping. Do NOT stay here with a family. Also, I tried booking it for $150 on Travelocity, and when I was unsuccessful called the hotel. In July, I was told they would honor the rate but upon check-in (September) they were charging me the rack rate of $305. When I tried to cancel upon check in they told me it was too late. Meanwhile I have two infant twins with me and I'm trying to take back my rental car, and they didn't budge on the rigid policy of the shuttle driver only leaving on the half-hour and hour mark, when he was clearly not busy. In the morning, staff took the cart from outside my room while I was packing up so I had to retrieve it twice from the lobby. The staff provided no solutions the entire time. The room was 82 degrees upon arrival.

I wanted to give it 3 stars, but just couldn't do that and feel honest. It was not good. At all. I've read some of the other reviews, so in all fairness, maybe it was just a random bad night/morning. It started with the shuttle service from the airport. Had to run for the shuttle bus to catch it. The driver was outside the vehicle and had just shut the side passenger door. He wasn't going to let me on because he had already shut the door. I was in no mood. 10:45 at night. Yes, he did open the door and let me in. Oh yes he did. The room was dirty. There was food left in the mini fridge from previous guests. There were pennies on the floor. Which tells me they didn't vacuum the floor. Yuk. Bathtub was not totally clean. At check out time 11am, there was no one at the front desk. Myself and two other guests just kind of stood there and waited. Finally a young woman came out. She had been wrapping coins in the back room. Because thats what a front desk person does at a hotel right at check out time.Right? Am I missing something? Pool looked nice. Kind of limited hours though. So I couldn't use it. Hotel location is kind of sketchy. Its not on Hegenberger which is well lit and has eateries. Its on a street in back of Hegenberger, no eateries, not well lit. In an industrial section. Hotels in Oakland are very pricey. I get it. No stranger to that. But price was almost up there with the Marriott around the corner. Next time I will pay the extra 15 bucks to stay at Marriott. If I wanted a Motel6 experience, I could have paid significantly less and stayed at Motel6. Again, to be fair, maybe it was just an off night/day. Still not going back.

This hotel was a hidden gem. It was off the main street, but was clean and the staff was helpful. We just spent the night before flying out of Oakland Airport and it is very convenient for that. The park and ride was very convenient to this hotel.

I was extremely happy upon my midnight arrival to have the nicest young lady greet me and check me in. We spent 30 minutes chatting and it was clear how dedicated she was to enjoying her job and helping me enjoy my stay. Everyone from this nice lady to the reception people in the morning and the shuttle driver was so helpful and personable that it really enhanced the experience.

The staff at this best western went out of their way to ensure our comfort and safety during our stay. They are in shuttle service for us to and from the local restaurants and transportation hubs. The next time we visit Oakland, we will definitely be staying here again.

A nice motel that is close to OAK. The rooms are large, clean and surprisingly quiet considering you are about a mile from airport. Also, their breakfast is quite good. The front desk people have always been friendly and helpful. This is my second time staying at the property.

The room was comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated.The hotel lobby and elevators were also clean and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, with warm items as well as the usual rolls, cereal, etc. and was kept replenished by a helpful staff. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly.

Checked 3 weeks out and our booking could not be found. This was fixed and confirmed but upon arrival they could not locate our booking again. The people running the breakfast rudely shut the doors at 9:50 on Sunday and got trays out for us to take our remaining breakfasts elsewhere saying that breakfast was over.

I always enjoy my stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is great and the rooms are clean and professional. The breakfast is great. There is something for everyone. I love the bacon and eggs and the oatmeal with all the fixens.

We had a short stay. We were not able to enjoy many of the amenities the hotel had to offer. This a great location near the Oakland airport with quick and convenient shuttle service available. Pleasant staff. Clean comfortable rooms.

I will not recommend this hotell because it was bad service,no pool outdoor, nowhere to sit in the sun. Around the hotel in the neighborhood there was trash everywhere and hoboes and Wild cats. We felt unsafe during the stay.

I booked this hotel for many different reason. It's high Travel Advisor ratings, The low price for my weekend and the ease of getting up to see my daughter at her college in Oakland Hills. The reviews were correct in regards to the area which it is located. It's in a bit of a some what depressed area, at least a few blocks around the hotel. It is only 1 block from Hegenberger Rd and near the Oakland Airport which is nice. The Hotel appears to be either newer or recently redecorated. The grounds were clean, the inside of the hotel and rooms were nice. The employees were always friendly and helpful. Our room had a sleeping area and another area with a couch and chair, the TV was large and there was also a fridge and microwave. The room did have a small amount of traffic noise when a car or motorcycle would drive by with loud exhaust pipes. This was very random though and not a real issue. There was a Oakland Raider game down the street the night we were there and I was afraid people coming back after the game making a bunch of noise, but everything was quite. There is a indoor pool, which made the lobby smell a bit like chlorine in the afternoon, but never smelled it any other time. Breakfast was served in the morning with Eggs, Potatoes, Sasuage, Waffles, and the usual Fresh Fruit, Pastries and such. I will be returning to Oakland many time in the next 2 years and would not hesitate staying here again as long as the price is right.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Airport Inn & Suites (Oakland) in late-May 2017 for 3 nights at the end of a month-long tourist holiday of Cent/West USA. I found it to be all that I had hoped for from the description and reliable TA reviews. Having stayed in San Francisco at the start of my western-region tour (at the very good Days Inn Civic Centre), without a car, I plumped for this hotel as by then I had a hire car so it gave me the opportunity to get to SF for a booked baseball game using public transport, as well as offering easier on-site car parking opportunities (as city centre locations are often more tricky in that respect), easy options to get out and about in my hire car and ultimately a straightforward way to get to SF airport on my departure. I found it difficult to find anything other than this hotel offering a similar location/price and certainly when compared to SF (I got lucky with my Days Inn booking, not possible to replicate for this later stay in the area), plus the room specification was the most comprehensive of anywhere I had stayed or could book. I had booked my stay via Expedia for a total cost, to be paid at the hotel, of $478/app£390 (incl taxes, make sure you allow for this when you compare prices like-for-like as some hotel booking site quotes exclude them in the headline rate !) for a 'Suite, 1 King Bed, Accessible, Bathtub - Multi Night Stay Rate' with free cancellation (up to the day before, I've often found this handy before in case a better option crops-up at the last minute !). When I phoned the hotel many weeks beforehand to check my booking I queried the 'Accessible' nature of the suite and without any fuss my room-type was amended to a 'normal' suite for no extra charge. On arrival, car parking proved to be as easy as hoped for and the room-change proved worthwhile, as it was absolutely huge and extremely well-appointed. The lobby area is large/smart, BUT it is accessed via front doors which proved problematic at times for me...At night they are locked and an unexpected 'arrival check' was required to get inside (nobody had informed me what to expect when getting back late) and when unlocked they are anything but 'automatic' as signs state (important if you've luggage), since you have to press a button to get them to open; the doors are 'powered' to open/close, they are NOT 'automatic' as sensors do not activate them !!! There is one large lift which, surprisingly, despite the hotel being so large never proved to be a problem 'hailing' or getting access to and the luggage trolleys came in handy for me on arrival/departure. My rear-facing/high suite (requested for maximum peace and quiet) was very large, clean and well-appointed. The array of seating came in useful for relaxing and the desk handy for using wifi etc, which proved to be speedy and reliable. The only odd thing for me, considering the large room size, was how small the work surface above the fridge/microwave was - it made it's usability a bit of a challenge as the coffee machine etc are crammed on top.... I've little else to say about the room/bathroom, as it was clean and functional and as expected/hoped for. In the evenings the car park quickly got full but I never sensed that the hotel was full of people, especially as I rarely saw or heard anyone on my floor - outside noise was non-existent, so sleeps were always peaceful. Breakfast was better than the standard 'plastic' fayre, with eggs/cooked meat plus the usual array of fruits/yoghurt/breads. On seeing it, the 'state' of the local area around the hotel didn't concern me in any way as much as some other reviewers mentioned. Yes, it is not at all picturesque and really quite urban - but that should not be surprising considering you are on the edge of a large city and quite close to to Oakland airport. Night time 'activity' didn't raise any problems for me, this experienced as I used the hotel shuttle to get to the Coliseum for a baseball game and then caught a bus back (easier for me than arranging a return shuttle trip), which stopped a few hundred yards from the hotel so requiring a short walk back from there. Getting to SF for a baseball game proved just as straightforward, by driving to the city to catch the dedicated ferry to/from SF - this includes free parking at the car park near to the ferry port, so was also an economical way of doing the trip as well plus you get a mini-bay cruise as well ! The hotel location was also good to quickly access the motorway to get to nearby visits, a main 'access' road is just a hundred yards away - from there rapid mobility is easy. So, I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Plus Airport Inn & Suites (Oakland) essentially because of the quiet setting, handy location, ease of car parking and well-appointed room. The rate was very good for a city location with the room facilities, breakfast and easy parking area - much more economical than nearby SF for 'normal' prices (my earlier stay in SF proved to be at an almost 'one-off' bargain price !).

Close to Oakland airport, San Francisco downtown accessible in 40 minutes by car. Very nice and professional staff, comfortable rooms with access to swimming pool and spa. Shuttle provided to take you to the closest bart station for San Francisco.

This Best Western has a good airport shuttle service. Even though people comment on the location, it seems they have taken many safety precautions. I had stayed there last fall , 2016, so when we came to Oakland airport again we stayed here. This time the shuttle bus driver stated that they pick up / drop off at the airport BUT they also will drive clients to any of the local restaurants ( driver had long list). I told her that I had not read anything about that service on the hotel website. On my previous stay, the shuttle driver or the hotel staff never talked about this service. Current Driver stated this was occurring for about 3 years. So I am just adding that to the review so others may keep that in mind when making reservation. Room was clean, internet good, bed comfortable. Room was on first floor and the remodeled pool was close by and in use by very noisy children. Their parents were not keeping them quiet. The kids ran and yelled in hall and made the hallway and lobby wet. Husband had to ask children to be quiet and when that didn't work asked the staff at front desk. That noise was irritating because it went on for long time. The staff was in full view and hearing of the noisy children but never said anything. We had to get up early to get shuttle to airport for 6:30 am flight to east coast. I had made reservation 2 months ahead and still got stuck on first floor. We had arrived to check in about 5 pm so it wasn't that late of arrival.

Our daughter selected UC Berkeley as her undergraduate school. We helped her to move in to UC Berkeley to start her orientation program. Since there were approximately 9,000 families like us in helping their kids to move in, we decided to stay outside of Berkeley area. At a recommendation of a close friend, we booked two nights at Best Western Plus Airport Inn at Oakland. Since our daughter need to stay one night with us, we booked a room with double bed. The price is very reasonable and significantly cheaper than the comparable ones in Berkeley. The staffs at Best Western Plus were very friendly and helpful. Checking in and out were very fast and easy. The room is very clean and equipped with more items than we or most of travelers will ever need. It provides both free wireless and wired internet connections. We noticed that it has indoor swimming pool, exercise room and laundry facilities but we did not have opportunity to use them. The free breakfast provided by the hotel was among the best I had. Having the breakfast at the hotel saved us at least 50 minutes. When I reserved the room, the hotel cautioned us that the parking space is limited. However, we did not have any problem in finding a parking space. Finally, the hotel also lets one to cancel the reservation 24 hours ahead of the checking time and sends one notification email about 2 day ahead of the checking time.

We had a business conference here and stayed in a great room very clean and the staff was awesome the outside area was not so great but the hotel inside was fine had a good stay at this hotel i have booked several people here also and feedback was always good

I have no complaints against the hotel except the neighborhood surrounding the building was filthy...We tried to go to restaurants in the vicinity by walking, and guess what? urination, broken glasses all over. The hotel has a shuttle could drive you there in couple of minutes or you can drive your own car. Never go walking. The hotel itself is great and I will go there again for sure.

The hotel is clean, neat, the staff is very friendly. The room was very nice. The pool is indoors and it's literally right next to the lobby. There is a wall of windows separating the lobby and the pool. The minute I walked in the strong chlorine smell hit me. The are it's in is not one you want to walk around at night and maybe not even during the day. There is trash all over the sidewalks and streets.

Considerate, informative desk personnel: assisted us to convenient shuttle service to and from arena area. Comfortable furnishings and beds. Appreciated their infusion of other vegies in scrambled eggs and fruit infused water!

The surroundings of this hotel were anything but inviting, but once inside the property it was clean, had friendly staff, and comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was decent.

We stayed here one night, and did not return; stayed at another facility near downtown. If you need a room close to the airport, this might be okay, but be warned it's in an industrial area, and the lot should never have been zoned for a hotel. The room was okay, nothing special, but the wall insulation was almost non-existent. Whenever anyone next door or upstairs took a shower, we heard it, and at 5:30 on a morning when you want to sleep in, not good. The corridor smelled of chlorine from the indoor pool. Sorry, I won't be staying here again.

I stayed for a week as I was helping an unwell family member. Good news: room was comfortable, large, basically clean, people were kind and the breakfast and breakfast service outstanding. Bad news: room was not vacuumed the entire week - or at least the crumbs on the floor remained there; one day the attendant completely missed the bathroom except for changing the towels. More than once I was greeted by a panhandler as I went to get out of my car in the parking lot, there was quite a bit of angry people noise from outside the facility at night... I did not leave the hotel after 7 pm...

We rang the hotel after collecting our luggage at 11.55pm and was relieved someone finally answered the phone and arranged to pick us up from the airport. I did email them in advance to notify them we would be checking in after midnight. Their customer service would impressive if they let us extend check-out by another 2 hours as we had a evening flight the next day. We checked in so late and it would have been reasonable to spend longer in the hotel the next day. But the request was turned down. They also would not let us keep our little bags with our 3 suitcases when we went out for lunch after we checked out. They insisted 3 suitcases was the maximum even though our small bags would fit perfectly on top of the suitcases. How silly.

It was very good. A neat hotel, that had wifi, breakfast and shuttle to airport every 30 minutes. They had to go food and internet service was decent. I suggest this hotel because of the presence in the airport perimeter and other facilities that were excellent for the price offered.

Most excellent hotel. You can drop off your car at the Avis rental lot in the evening and take the hotel shuttle to your room...then take the shuttle again to the terminal for your flight out. Very helpful if you have an early morning flight. The front desk folks are very friendly and helpful as well... thanks !!

We missed our plane so instead of going home; we stayed at the Best Western. They picked us up and we had comfortable beds/room. In the morning, they had a bag breakfast since we were leaving before the actual brunch started. They also have a free van to take you to the airport. We arrived on time for our early flight.

Great hotel service, and courteous staff, Just the location in bad neighborhood. My breakfast selections were limited to oatmeal and fruit because I am vegan, so more vegan options would be great. I also think having fruit available during the rest of the day would be great.

We always stay here when we go to see an Oakland A's baseball game at the Oakland Coliseum. The hotel is off a main street so it's not easy to find, but I call it a "little hidden gem". The hotel is quiet, and we feel very safe staying there. The Lobby has a beautiful desk, the rooms are immaculate, the beds so comfortable, the staff are so friendly and accommodating. A diverse demographic has found this place - tourists, families, sports fans. The breakfast has all the usual food items - only criticism is the room isn't quite big enough if there are a lot of children - people spill out into the lobby, or take their food upstairs.

My husband and I met our daughter and grandchildren in Oakland,CA for a visit to San Francisco and Alcatraz Island, as well as a baseball game with the Oakland A's vs The Nationals. We chose to stay at the Best Western Plus Airport because of the proximity to the airport and stadium. It was awesome! They treated us like family; the shuttle drivers were so kind and considerate, on time; it was clean, and provided a very ample breakfast! Look for Vivian if you go, she is a jewel!

In the San Francisco Bay Area this hotel is a true value, but Best Western is normally our first choice on road travel. Good value, consistent product. Only problem with this hotel is that the area is not some place you would want to take a stroll. But everything one needs is in the hotel and there are restaurants nearby.

They have rooms slightly bigger than "average". The architect designed a big fake arch in the middle of the room to make it seem like two rooms. That hemmed in the space for the king size bed. A few years ago they had room for only one bedside stand. Now, they have downsized the "king size" beds so they have room for a bedside stand on both sides of the bed. Same space, smaller (not really king size) bed. Totally inadequate space for breakfast. Breakfast is pretty average for this class of hotel except I didn't see any fresh fruit. The usual scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy and bisquits. Also various bread & bagels & English muffins. Also, make yourself waffles. The usual.

We stayed several nights with a very large group. The hotel is in a sort or industrial looking area but we always felt comfortable and safe. There aren't any restaurants within walking distance. It is very close to the Oakland airport and they have a shuttle that will take you there if needed. The rooms are very large. There was plenty of space to spread out. There is a microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom was large with a lot of counter space. There is a hot breakfast every morning. There was always cold cereal, yogurt, breads/bagels, and oatmeal with a lot of different toppings to make it to your taste. There were hot items that rotated each day. We had either bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. My only complaint was that there is only one waffle maker and its in the middle of the counter so the area gets a bit crowded. It would be nice if there was another waffle maker and they were at the end of the counter or in another corner. The kids in our group used the pool and had a great time. There is also a small hot tub. The hotel staff were all very friendly. One night we ordered pizza for our group and they let us use the breakfast area to feed everyone. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a hotel in the Oakland area or even SF. We didn't have any problems driving into SF two of the days we were there.

In the process of moving including putting my car on the boat, the people here were kind and accommodating. They helped me carry boxes and gave me directions. Clean and comfortable, safe and close to airport with a reliable shuttle. Thank you for making my trip pleasant.

This hotel is clean and comfortable. It's close to the airport and BART station with a free shuttle ride to and from both. The shuttle will also take you to a few nearby restaurants and hotels. The staff is always friendly.

Very clean. Staff was friendly. Pool was nice. Outside was clean and welcoming. Rooms clean. Beds comfortable. Air conditioner was amazing. Breakfast was convient and filling. Liked having water and coffee in the lobby.

This hotel is a great place to stay for a 2 or 3 night stay to go see a couple or few baseball games. It is also very convenient to go to the Oakland Airport. The neighborhood is not the greatest, but this place is a diamond in the ruff.

This hotel was in a convenient location, easy parking. Hotel itself is nice inside. Staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was okay. I have booked several more days through out the summer. I recommend the hotel if you need to be in the Oakland area.

We are always cautious about airport hotels but this Best Western exceeded our expectations. It has been remodeled and the pool is currently closed due to repairs. Initially we had some concerns due to a strong chemical smell in our hallway, but whatever that was, we mentioned it at the front desk and it was gone when we returned later. Rooms have a refrigerator and windows that open which we appreciate. Our room with two queen beds was adequate size and nicely remodeled. We appreciated the shuttle service to the Bart but it is on a schedule, every half hour and not on demand. They only go to the airport and the Bart Station. We had to take an Uber to a Walmart for a pharmacy which was only 1.5 miles away, but that was easy enough to do. I thing you can walk to a Chipotle and some other gas station markets but otherwise the shuttle to Bart or Uber worked for us to get around. Staff was helpful and friendly and included breakfast was substantial. They even made us some eggs without milk in them due to our allergies. Thank you very much! Almond milk also available.

The room was big and clean but the pool was closed, and the location of the hotel was a bit secluded and not in a good way. Breakfast, however, was exceptional with a varied menu each day, and the staff were most helpful, keeping the daily choices replenished.

Stayed here twice so far plan to continue staying once / month for project status meetings. Pool currently being serviced so was closed this time but i think only for short time. Neighborhood is a bit industrial, but there is some sort of school right across the street. 1 Block off of main road , enclosed parking, away from the noisy BART track that runs right in front of the other hotel right in front of this one. Minutes from Airport, and rental car pickup/drop-off. Eat at Black Bear Diner 1 block away on Hedenberger Road

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in mid May 2017. I was concerned about the bad reviews I read, but found the hotel to be just what I expect from a nice BW Plus. All the staff including housekeeping were professional, friendly and helpful. We met 3 shuttle drivers who were of the same caliber. Using the shuttle was very easy, and they were prompt and courteous. The suite was spacious,, well equipped, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet. Our room was on the 3rd FL which was not a problem because this hotel has an elevator. The indoor pool and spa are clean and well maintained. The pool was a warm comfortable temperature. The hot breakfast has a great variety of foods including scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, veggie patties, country potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Waffles, bagels, cereals, yogurts, and more. Also, the attendant keeps everything full for the duration. I took the opportunity to discuss the bad reviews of his hotel with Manager Steven M. After meeting with him, in my judgment he and his staff are going to great effort to take care of hotel guests during their stay, and are very interested in solving any problems that may arise. I dismiss the bad reviews to the fact that some people just will be unhappy regardless of the solutions offered. Some have stated the area around the hotel looks unsafe.....well I add that it is hidden in an otherwise industrial area among unoffensive companies and a school. We saw no evidence of potential crime, or students in the area. We will not hesitate to stay here on future trips to Oakland.

This is a standard Best Western Hotel with all the amenities expected. It's true that the Hotel is not in the greatest area, but it is convenient to eating, airport and other areas. There were no issues with outside people coming around - safe parking. I was overcharged, but called them and the matter was resolved withing minutes. Very friendly staff.

I was quoted a price of $129.00 for the first night of a 3 night stay, but was charged more than that.I fell in the shower. There was initially no bath mat. When I complained to the clerk, they did bring one later.

When we received our confirmation, it said we had a handicap room with a roll-in shower. We were surprised since we hadn't asked for a handicap room. The room was nicely renovated and was indeed over-sized to accommodate a wheelchair, EXCEPT there was a full bathtub, albeit with a half a dozen bars on the walls. If you NEED a roll-in shower, clearly this was not going to work so be sure to ask upon booking. The hotel does not have a restaurant and while there are restaurants within walking distance, it is not the nicest part of Oakland. We had a "marvelous" view of the roof.

The exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff made this Hotel an excellent choice for our stay prior to an early flight. In addition to a prompt and efficient shuttle to the airport, we were also given shuttle service to the nearby "Park N' Travel", and Japanese restaurant. A nice touch given the West Oakland neighborhood near the airport. I thought the value was good given the airport location, with clean & comfortable rooms, and a breakfast bag of fruit & cookies when we left at 4:00 AM.

This hotel is clean and comfortable, but my wife was not comfortable with the neighborhood, which is very dirty -- trash in the gutters. The nearby businesses appear to be light industrial. Staff and service were fine except the clerk at check-in who appeared to have learned her people skills in drill-instructor training.

If you're looking for a decent hotel with convenience to the airport this works well but is pricey. It's in a run down area & you can't walk to a restaurant or anywhere....we stayed there because we had an early flight.

The shuttle came to pick us up shortly after we arrived at the airport. We didn't know what to expect from looking at the surroundings of the area; but it was very nice. We were able to check in immediately. After we put our bags down - we went to the front desk to ask about nearby restaurants - they suggested the Black Bear Café. The food was good and we talked and laughed with our server. We called for the shuttle to come back and pick us up but it took awhile as there was a lot of traffic and construction going on. We were attending the Raiders/Carolina football game and turned in early. The bed was comfy and we didn't hear any outside disturbances. We had to leave our bags with the front desk because our flight was leaving shortly after the football game; the front desk attendant's had no problem with tagging/watching our stuff. We took the shuttle to the stadium after we had coffee/muffins. Friendly and nice people at the front desk. Overall good short stay and I would recommend this hotel for location near the airport/stadium.

Really helpful check in staff, well-kept building with easy parking, neighborhood is not the best but its only a zip to the airport, great breakfast with good staffing. Wonderful place to get ready for the flight home!

Very nice hotel near Oakland Airport. The only complaint I had was that the only elevator is directly across the pool area, and guests, especially children, do not dry themselves off before using elevator--water everywhere! I alerted the hotel staff and they put a "caution" cone down on floor. It doesn't work, since these are often unsupervised children. Their parents need to take responsibility for them, or leave the hotel. Sad that hotel staff have to deal with uncivilized pigs!

I was very satisfied with my stay. The staff were excellent. The breakfast bar was good. Rooms were nice. It was convenient from the airport. Parking was plenty. In general I enjoyed staying at this hotel and would not mind booking again if I travel in that area in near future.

I had a great stay at the best western Oakland, ca. everyone was very friendly and i had an speedy check in and check out. i would definitely come back and recommend this hotel. i was at the hotel due to work. they were able to make arrangements very easily for payment with my company and i had an easy check in.

This worked fine for an overnighter to catch a flight the next morning. It was very hot in the room and lots of early morning noise. He staff was friendly and the place was clean. Breakfast was traditional and works doe what you need on a time crunch.

My son and I enjoyed every minute of our 4 day stay here at the Best Western at Oakland Airport. It was convenient to the airport - the Shuttle service was perfect and the all round degree of helpful assistance from every member of the staff was superb! We have stayed at a number of Best Western hotel over the years but this one stands out as one of the Top three we have ever stayed in. There is no doubt when the staff are there to help make it a happy stay - that goes along way. Congratulaions to all!!

The room was clean and comfortable. We stayed just one night, but were pleased with the service. There is free parking (which I hear is rare for the area) and a free shuttle to and from sporting events as well as many restaurants in the area. We left for the airport very early in the morning and we were handed a bagged breakfast that really hit the spot. The hotel is very close to the airport and the sports arenas. We did not hear noise from the airport. Great location to stay if going to a sporting event or flying out.

Breakfast was great. Everything about the experience was great in all areas. I plan on returning within the next month. Will definitely stay here again. Staff were all very very nice. I also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi.Looking forward to my next stay.

If you're flying out of the Oakland airport, this hotel is a perfect choice. Recently remodeled, the staff are helpful and courteous, the rooms are clean and modern, and the airport shuttle will also take you to other locations, e.g. restaurants.

Quiet, clean, friendly and great van service! I have to fly to OAK every week for business for the last 20 years. I've stayed at them all in the area. They are my first choice! Great staff, always make things right, air conditioners are fully controllable and quiet, comfortable beds and very clean rooms, fast internet, great breakfast and coffee, dependable van service to BART and airport. Steven and his staff do a great job! Now you all know!

I stay many nights a year at BW hotels and I have to say I am unsure why this particular facility is given the Plus designation. It is Ok but not what I would consider a cut above the average BW. The location is close tot the airport which is a plus, however, it is in a lousy part of town, if you feel like going for a walk you probably will reconsider once you arrive. That said, the staff was pleasant, the room was clean and they do offer free parking. Overall, I would say if you can get a good rate and you plan on not venturing out at night you will do fine.

I stayed overnight since my flight out of Oakland was 6:10 am. I returned my rental car the evening of my stay. I called for the Best Western Shuttle and they picked me up at the next circuit. (top of hour and half-hour) Quick trip to hotel. The lobby was clean and stylish, the clerk was efficient and friendly. My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The hotel is "tucked away" as another reviewer noted, but I had known that so I brought along my dinner and ate in my room. I had a relaxing evening. It was very quiet there. I got on the 4am shuttle and off to the airport and through security in plenty of time for my flight.

Very clean, good location, and good value. The beds were comfortable and hotel staff were nice. I would definitely stay here again. My mom and I stayed to attend a Warrior's game, and we felt this was a good location.

A decent hotel but it is tucked away from the main area it is in. This does mean having to drive anywhere, unless you like Starbucks. The Internet was not working in the evening. I contacted the front desk whose immediate reaction was to call the 888 "help" number. I then lost 45 minutes talking to someone who finally said they would contact the front desk as the problem seemed to be at the hotel end and they would call me back. No one ever did. In the morning the problem was found to be a cable unplugged from the server. My bill was reduced slightly but the time lost due to being unable to send/receive emails had a knock on effect. To suggest that Internet access is "complimentary" no longer works. If that is the case then so is the water coming from the taps, towels and other items. Try shutting down the Internet access for 1 week and you will soon find it is an expected item in todays world - especially by those staying in hotels. Most guests would sooner not have coffee or TV in the room. No reason was ever given why the "help" desk did not resolve the problem or why the front desk staff could not just check all cables are plugged in.

I arrived late at night with my daughter and was welcomed by a very friendly guest receptionist. The hotel interior was just redone. The rooms are clean and neat. Easy airport access. I would definitely recommend staying at this Best Western!

Stayed once in October 2016, then switched from another hotel to this one again one month later. I liked my room compared to other Best Westerns I've stayed in other cities. It was spacious, bathroom updated, and most of all I liked the free shuttle from airport and free breakfast with hot entrees. The staff was friendly--from the shuttle driver to the hotel reception (esp. Luiza) to housekeeping--all very helpful and accommodating. I even had an opportunity to be welcomed by the outdoor receptionists--the beautiful cats.

It is a very nice and comfortable hotel but it could be in a little better location. One of the check- in people could have been a little friendlier! The shuttle bus driver was very nice and paid attention to details. We left very early in the AM but were offered a to go breakfast by both the front desk person and the shuttle bus driver. We stay there every time we are flying out of the Oakland airport.

Without hesitation, we would stay at this hotel again. Great staff, great breakfast, great room. Convenient to airport, rental car facility, interstate and public transportation. Great alternative to staying directly in San Francisco.

My second time and I have not been disappointed. The free shuttle to BART is a plus. With free parking, I can get around the SF Bay Area with public transportation and avoid traffic congestion. A home away from home.

Vivian, Shuttle driver and Luisza, Front Desk were extremely courteous!!! The 1st person met, is the face/attitude/demeanor of that business. And Vivian was just that!!! Very warm personality!!! She introduced herself, gave business cards, informed us of the services of the shuttle....overall very nice lady!!! Everyone was great , no complaints here! NONE!!!! We were super surprised to receive a "bagged" breakfast @ checkout!! Our flight was @ 6:40am, so we checked out @ 5am.....that meant a lot!!! Thoughtfulness.....

You save a lot by staying in Oakland as while as flying into Oakland vs San Fran! Hotel is very close to airport and even closer to rental car area. Clean room and nice staff. Comfort of the bed is subpar, bed very very firm. Breakfast was standard nothing too special or awful.

Arrived about midnight from a long, late flight. Staff at counter and security were very helpful. They were also extremely courteous. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs, waffle maker, sausage, cold cereal, etc.

Excellent Front desk, shuttle driver, breakfast and room service staff.Comfortable beds. Coffee available all the time though there are machines in the rooms. Very convenient to get to the BART station and whoops !! you are in the city of San Francisco in no time. Clean rooms, breakfast was good there was no lack in any thing the staff kept filling up all the time. More than enough for all the guests. Would have loved to have this hotel where we could take a walk.

Having heard a wide range of opinions of the city of Oakland , I must admit we approached making a hotel reservation there with trepidation. We had a quick turnaround for a flight to Hawaii and needed a reliable, safe location to spend the night prior to completing our journey. Enter the Best Western Plus. We called the free shuttle service and even though we were arriving late, their pick up was prompt. ( BTW, the next morning we were leaving early , and again their shuttle service was right on the money). The room was clean, the bed was good, the internet service was free (and good). Left too early for breakfast, so can't comment on that. Security help was in plain sight, which was comforting. The hotel is right off one of the main highways, and over looks a man made water feature. All in all a positive experience. Glad to have found this hotel. Will definitely stay here again! **TIP- Be cautious when boarding the free shuttle. The loading area can get congested.

We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and offered amenities of refrigerator, microwave and many plugs for charging devices. The location was safe enough that we walked our family of 7 to a near by restaurant for dinner. The shuttle provide quick and friendly service. We found the breakfast to have a good variety of options. The pool was large enough to swim laps. We would definitely stay here again before an early morning flight!

Although situated in a bad neighborhood I felt very safe with the friendly security guard watching the parking lot. The either Staff where very friendly and helpful, especially the manager. I was only supposed to spend a few nights and ended up staying for almost a month. I travel a lot and spend most of my time sleeping in hotels, thanks to the Manager and staff this was one of the best experiences I have had. Almost felt like home at the end.

Our first assigned room HAD SOMEONE IN IT! Our second room had BLOOD on the bathroom door handle. The beds in the third room were very hard and uncomfortable. I would recommend staying somewhere else.

we came to oakland to watch the raiders play there first home game.We got there a day early so had to book another well none hotel.But staff wasnt as nice and helpful in trying to find are way around the area,Room are nice and big and remodeled in great modern decor.This hotel has a very homey feel to it,unlike the other one with was very impersonal.The only down fall to me was it wasnt on the same road as the other hotel so it was not well marked and you couldnt see it from the street,I would definally stay there again when returning to oakland.Thanks to all the staff for doing a great job ,the manager should be proud of you all,because they have a great team.

The Best Western at the Oakland Airport is a good option for business travel. It's close to the airport, the shuttle service is excellent, and the amenities are more than adequate when business travel means limited time at the hotel because of work.

Nice interior, nice room, great customer service. Walk able distance to several restaurants. Airport shuttle every half hour and on request. Overall pleasant experience. But a pretty bad neighborhood.

This hotel was very clean and quite. The rooms were large and comfortable. Lots of staff on duty at all times and we felt very safe. The hotel shuttle was always on time and was very clean. The driver was courteous and safe. The hotel is updated and modern.

This is my first time at a Best western, it will not be my last. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. I couldnt ask for a better stay, the make your own waffle maker was a plus! Definitely a good stay.

This hotel is not easy to find. Part of the problem is the sign which is not in the expected Best Western Blue. It is red and white and a different design. At first, we mistook it for a sign for a hamburger place. This hotel is very close to the airport. Nonetheless, the rooms are very quiet. They are also attractive and comfortable. Breakfast is good.

The staff is very nice and welcoming. The location convenience to the airport is very good. The hotel and its campus is very clean, modern, quiet and well lighted. Located in an industrial complex area.

The property is convenient to Oakland airport, which is why I chose it. It is not cheap, but by Bay Area standards it is affordable. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good, with hot choices of waffles and eggs as well as cereals, etc. The front desk staff and airport shuttle driver were especially friendly and helpful, making sure that everything was ok and treating you like their guest.

Rooms & hotel were clean & well maintained however location was in undesirable neighborhood. At 2 am my family & I were woken up by 5-6 gun shots outside, needless to say no rest for me that night. You could see on the street throughout the night people & cars mingling all hours of the night. At night the entire parking lot is lit up by flood lights, huge indicator of the neighborhood its in. Hotel gets good reviews as it is a great clean hotel with friendly staff however the location gets bad reviews.

When traveling north or south through SF I can save several hundred dollars on my hotel by staying here in Oakland when compared to staying in SF. Super nice staff, comfortable clean rooms /beds, safe for the solo traveler to the family travelers and well lit gated free parking too.

I have to admit that since I travel so much for business, that BW is not usually my first choice when choosing a place to stay due to past experience other places of the country, however, I simply cannot emphasize enough what an absolute stand out this property is from most Best Westerns that I have ever encountered!!!. First of all, the location was perfect for where I needed to be and let's face it, CA, and especially the SF area are the kinds of places rates-wise where you just about have to be rich to be poor!!... Their rates were competitive such that it gave me pause until I saw pictures of the property!! To be blunt,... THIS HOTEL IS EXCELLENT!!! The rooms were top-notch!!.. and from the moment I entered the door ALL of the employees were very polite, professional, caring, and quick to try and accommodate any request!! To make things even better, I was pleasantly surprised to find that a full breakfast buffet was INCLUDED in the rate!!... and YES, the food was fresh, hot, and just as good as you would find at any of the typically overpriced California hotel restaurants!! The icing on the cake for me was that I often have to work from my hotel room and most places (even the higher rated hotels) usually have wireless internet service that is way too slow or if they do have something faster, they charge you an arm and a leg for it. ***Let me be blunt - The FREE wireless internet service at this property was SCREAMING FAST!!! So fast that I did a speed test on it and it never showed less than 60Mbs!!! and that was with a full house of people!! I cannot say enough good about this property!!!... What a pleasure!! ...and YES, I will be staying there again whenever I happen to return!!

Need a place to stay close to SF that saves. This is a good location, safe clean, pool and gated free parking that's included. If you passing through from northern CA to southern CA it's good place to lay your head for the eve too. Either way I give this location a positive review from my personal experience.

This Best Western Plus is a good choice for a moderately priced hotel near the airport. All amenities are within the average range, clean rooms and comfortable. The hallways are painted horrible colors, in my opinion, however. Sketchy neighborhood, with only a couple of eating establishments within walking distance. . The complimentary breakfast is good...scrambled eggs vary by the day....dry vs. moist.With that said, it is our "go to" place to stay when flying in or out of Oakland Airport

I had a great stay at this hotel. Yes the area is a bit rough, but if your in this area and need a nice clean room, you can't beat it. I stayed in a king suite and had 0 complaints. Shuttle to the was a plus too. It ran often and driver was courteous.

This hotel is a great bargain for the consumer and something anyone going to the Bay Area should consider. The Bart is a short distance away and the staff makes sure of a safe trip for their guests. Breakfast is very good with numerous offerings.

The hotel itself was great. The best feature is that it is very close to the airport. Also it was clean, up-to-date, affordable, well staffed... breakfast was not amazing but fairly standard for major chain hotels. The neighborhood was not ideal. It's bit off to the side of the main road, and when we arrived, about 4 people were hanging out across the street and then about 6 were 100 yards down the road. They may have been homeless; appeared to be camped out there but were gone in the morning. The hotel is surrounded by a high wall and barbed wire, so we wondered if there might be issues. Wife & kids were extremely anxious. But it was all fine.

We have stayed in BW's a few times recently, and have not been disappointed. The rooms are always clean, the beds comfortable, excellent service, and hot water in the shower. The Airport Inn at Oakland was no exception. IMHO: BW fills its niche perfectly. Quality at an affordable price. It is not the Ritz, but that is not the expectation. We stayed one night and moved on. Not really an area I would spend multiple nights, but what airport hotels are. If the need arises, we would stay here again. Excellent service.

We chose this hotel because it represented the best "bang for the buck" during our visit to SF. Commute to/from San Francisco was quite manageable. The hotel had large rooms with good beds and a very nice complementary breakfast. Kids especially liked making their own pancakes. Will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

I reserved a room from July 27 thru July 31, 2016. I stayed the first night the 27th,I had left my bath soap and medications in the room along with my food and dinks that I had purchased outside the hotel. I returned the night of the 27th and everything I left in the room were gone. So I called the front desk they advised me to talk to receptionist in morning. I went and talked with the receptionist very nice advised they would find away to accommodate me so, I left my number. As I was leaving the hotel I stopped and the General Manager asked why I didn't leave my luggage in the room. I told him I had a bad experience before at a prior hotel and I take my things with me. He replied I am appalled. I replied why? He replied "I'm appalled that you would accuse my staff of stealing." So if you don't leave your luggage in the room they have a right to throw your things away and it's your fault even if you didn't check out of their hotel.....I called the Corporate office very professional apologized which I never received from the General Manager. Left my information for the owner never heard from them. I will never stay at this location again! I do not recommend this hotel if you care for your belongings!

This Best Western was conveniently located near the Oakland Airport. We found it to be a great motel with everything we needed. The king suite gave us the added room with a sofa area removed from the sleeping area - made relaxing before bedtime really nice.

The hotel was very nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, good breakfast, and has shuttle service to the airport. However, the area around the hotel is terrible. If you don't have a car at your disposal and have to walk to dinner, you will be walking through an industrial area with dirty, littered empty lots and unsavory characters.

Very good value. Rooms are farily spacious. The rooms are quiet but you can hear the occasional footsteps of the above floor and the bathroom door closing hard. The breakfast is a good variety. Enjoyed the waffles and coffee. They provide the morning USA Today. Area of the hotel a little out of the ways. the hotel is well lite though. Stayed there several times and probably will again, but the last time, there was a posted security guard for the night.

Though this hotel is located in an industrial area it is neat and clean on the outside. Hotel lobby was inviting and check in was wasy. The room was tidy and well maintained . The free breakfast had enough choices to satisfy anyone looking for a quick meal, even had Chobani Greek yogurt. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I never had a bad experience at Best Western Hotel. The bath tub is slippery, use the bath mat. The room was clean and comfortable, The breakfast was good. The staff was polite. It was little difficult finding the hotel because it is not on a main road.

Only stayed one night and thank goodness. Room was somewhat clean, place was scary, bathroom, shower stream was not good, weak and clogged, same with the sink, toilet seat was smaller than the toilet and when you sit you almost fell in! Thank goodness I brought clorox wipes with me!

STOP!!! And please read what I have to say before considering to stay at this hotel! I usually don't believe 1 bad review against all the good, but this time for the first time I am going to any and every online booking site to let people know about the horrible service I received at the hand of General Manager Steven [--]. I do need to say that Lalita and Luiza at the front desk had nothing to do with my bad experience. The reason for being here is my partner has a very important career exam to take, and now my partner has to take the exam tired. After studying we went to bed, with this awful rattling sound in the walls especially behind my head. I called to mention it, and Lalita mentioned that it was a fan that should've been turned off by maintenance. She offered to move me but it was almost midnight and she couldn't guarantee that the problem will go away. So I didn't see any reason to be inconvenienced again by packing up everything at midnight, then to get dressed with no guarantee that the problem would be fixed. And I also have a medical condition that gets me up already 3 or 4 times a night which I normally can do in the dark without waking up my partner, but because of the door to the restroom it was so loud and slammed shut that I woke up my partner all 3 times I got up. I continued to explain this to the so called Manager and all he could say is because I didn't change rooms that there was nothing that he could do for me...with a smug look on his face... He already dismissed me and didn't even apologize or even try to remedy the situation. He even went as far as to say "go to the Hampton Inn next time", and he also said that it wasn't his job to try an defuse the situation" (which is also the definition of a Manager...to Manage) then he implied that my partner would lie after I asked my partner to validate what I was hearing. After 2 calls and 3 people later with customer service with Best Western and a call to AAA, an investigation is in effect and my check is in the mail. Unfortunately even though I am receiving a refund I still will never again stay at a Best Western because of Steven [--]!!!

The hotel room itself was clean, comfortable, and spacious. it is located near to the airport and many restaurants. The airport shuttle service was efficient and timely. We enjoyed the "grab and go" breakfast as our flight left before breakfast.

We all know that The Bay Area in the summer is expensive when it comes to hotels. We were looking for least expensive in a level of hotel we are OK with and a brand we are ok with. Even with it being in Oakland, near the airport, the price was ridiculously inflated. That said. The neighborhood is icky/sketchy. However they do have security and we felt safe. Room was clean but sink did not drain properly. Reported but never fixed. Breakfast is average but breakfast room is decent. Average rating for average place when trying to find something less expensive.

Our stay at the Best Western Plus Oakland Airport was great: thick, soft towels, clean, comfortable, firm beds, lots of outlets for charging around the room, efficient and quiet air conditioning, good size rooms, friendly, helpful staff.

this is the second time staying at this location and the outside is not very pleasant but the hotel premises is excellent and the hotel staff is awesome. breakfast is great and rooms are super CLEAN". I will continue to use this location when I come up to the Bay area for business, or family, or freinds

We just needed a reasonable hotel convenient to the airport, and wow, everyone at this hotel exceeded our expectations! Once you find convenient and safe parking, and get inside, you forget the neighborhood and it is very clean, updated, comfortable, the rooms are spacious with a handy frig/microwave/coffee pot/iron, everything you need for stress-free travel! Even reliable wi-fi! They offer a great breakfast selection each morning, every staff member was helpful and friendly and they even have a free shuttle for the airport. It was a relief for everything to go so smoothly when travelling with a senior citizen, and was also very reasonably priced, i would defintely stay here again!!

Hotel is updated, very clean and comfortable rooms, not very desirable location for walking but very convenient to airport, air conditioning is somewhat fickle but did not report to staff. Would recommend based on airport location

Very nice hotel. Away from any noise and close to restaurants. The hotel is very close to the airport and the hotel provides a free shuttle to local locations, including BART. The shuttle runs 24/7. The room was very clean and quite.

The room was clean and neat with plenty of lighting. There was plenty of hot water when needed and the internet worked fast. The bed was comfortable enough for a spring mattress. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The unfortunate side was that the air conditioner/heater unit put out a nasty perfumy/burnt smell when turned on. We had to open the window to clear the air and keep cool during the night.

Attitude of staff is poor. Customer request for local transportation within 1 mile of the hotel was not possible except to the airport and back! ATTITUDE WAS NEGATIVE and had excuses why they could not do things, like a 4 hour wait to get into the room by a disabled guest who was not feeling well.

The room and bathroom was very clean. Unlike other places we had stayed, the staff was friendly and wanted to make sure everyone had an enjoyable stay and felt welcome. Vivian was such a sweetheart and we would certainly stay again.

Were a party of 4. We arrived early due to a physical accident. One couple was allowed to check in but the other room was not clean. We thanked the lady at the desk and said we would return shortly. We returned 21/2 hours. The front desk attendant then called to see if our room was ready...no (30 more min.) As a past manager, I would have made sure the room was cleaned ASAP because I was aware the customer was early. The rules are more important that the customer. Also, one driver said they would pick us at the car rental place (.04 miles away) the other said "No".

I am the guest that checks the bed and sheets thoroughly as soon as I check in. This was my second stay here and the room was plenty big, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Free breakfast is not bad either, I really like the waffle maker. The surrounding neighborhood is something to be aware of when driving, especially at night otherwise an overall great stay. I would stay here again.

My daughter and I stayed here prior to an early flight out of OAK. We loved everything about the hotel--especially the shuttle service. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes, and when not too busy, will take you to nearby restaurants. This is important, because you would not want to walk to the nearby restaurants as the neighborhood is iffy.

The hotel itself was very clean, comfortable,and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived around 9:00 and wanted something to eat. The desk clerk told us we shouldn't walk anywhere since it was unsafe at this time of the night. She gave us some brochures to order food, but 2 of the 3 don't deliver after 9:00. The hotel is fine if you plan on staying there once you arrive. I also felt the price was rather high since we stayed in another BW Plus hotel the previous night for $40 less.

The room was nice and clean -the bed was very comfortable (the pillows sucked had to put them all together to make 1 regular pillow. The price was Great at 149 it's beats most hotels in the area. I would would recommend this hotel to anyone .....

We stayed one night at this hotel after a flight from Hawai`i. Our room was large, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. They serve an excellent breakfast in the morning. They have an airport shuttle that runs every half hour. We just missed one at the airport and had to wait about a half hour for the next. But they run right on time from the hotel. There was one downside for our room though. There was a fan running in the bathroom that could not be turned off. It was a little annoying. However, I would stay here again if I came to Oakland.

We stayed for three nights and the staff was friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were quiet, so we got good sleep.

If you're looking for a good place to stay near the Oakland airport then look no further. The hotel interior seems like it has been recently remodeled. Everything from the breakfast, pool area to the rooms were nice and clean. The beds were comfy and cozy. The breakfast was good and plenty. The best part was the staff. They were warm and welcoming and very friendly. Overall great experience and definitely priced well.

I stayed at this Best Western because it was close to the Oakland airport and offered a good price and free breakfast. I was weary because of some of the reviews opinions on the location but it was not that bad and for my purpose of needing a place to stay and get to the airport easily in the morning it was great. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. The ladies working the breakfast in the morning were very hospitable and greeted everyone as they came in. I would 100% stay here again.

I was here for a conference at the Oakland Convention Center - rooms near the Convention Center were either sold out or much higher than I could spend. I booked this hotel due to the free breakfast and wifi, gym, proximity to the airport and free shuttle. The hotel is certainly doesnt have a luxury feel and there were some disappointments (noisy construction in the lobby, a very small and poorly equipped gym and not a great neighborhood) but overall my stay was pleasant. They were able to check my in a bit early and room was very comfortable. It was clean and well stocked (coffee!!). My room on the 2nd floor was close to the laundry and vending which was nice. The wifi worked great, breakfast was impressive and I was happy about the fruit infused water in the lobby. All of the employees were very nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Close to the airport, easy access to highway. Rooms have been remodeled and are nice. The lobby was getting new tile, it was easy to get around the construction. Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful advising places to go. Full breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose from. Clean and nice presentation. I didn't use the pool, but it was right off of the lobby. Laundry area was nice, it looked like it was $1.25 per load. I would stay here again if traveling through Oakland.

This property is located on a back street in an industrial area near the airport. It is currently undergoing some interior renovation and not all facilities may be available...check with the hotel directly before booking! In room 207 mold was present in the bath tub; shower enclosure had a large crack; bathroom door was stained front and back. I would not stay there again. The nearby Holiday Inn Express is a much better option.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip. They are remodeling and the results are quite nice. Our room was comfortable, very clean and fresh. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The shuttle, Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast (a good one) are free! That was a plus for us. The indoor pool and jacuzzi look inviting, but we forgot swim togs and were disappointed that we had. Be aware that the neighborhood is very dodgy and you must not go out at night unless you are driving. The hotel shuttle actually took us to a restaurant. If you can, bring your meal to the hotel and stay in, as there is no restaurant you can walk to.

Location was great with s shuttle to the Bart Station and the baseball field. Breakfast very poor especially for a PLUS facility. If your watching your weight or health there were really no options. Internet was sketchy. Staff very friendly and answered all of our questions, on the phone and in person. Neighborhood appears sketchy but it is industrial and there are security people at the hotel. Never felt unsafe at all.

The hotel is being refurbished. New lobby and rooms redone. My room was very clean and everything was totally spiffy. The bathroom fan would not turn off so I reported it but otherwise it was a nice stay. Even though I had to get up at 3 am the front desk gave me a coffee and go-bag with fruit and yogurt and juice. Those things get points.

This hotel worked perfectly for my business trip. The hotel is clean, comfortable, modern decor, comfy beds and helpful, courteous staff. It is close to the airport & the shuttle driver is happy to take you to the BART extension at Oakland International. A very good Japanese restaurant a few blocks from this hotel.

You can't go wrong with Best Western. This property was close in proximity to where I needed to be for business, I was relieved that all room entries were from the inside of the property, as some BW are more external/motel-like properties. But, I was pleased with my stay. Don't let the drive through the industrial neighborhood scare you off. I had no issues feeling unsafe as a single traveler.

I had a quick overnight stop and wanted a place to stay near the airport to take an early morning flight back home. I thought this hotel was great for the value. The staff was very nice and the place was clean. There was ample parking.

I sleep so well at the hotel. The beds are comfortable, the room is clean, and the shuttle is the topping on the cake! Didn't have the chance to use the indoor pool and hot tub, but next time I surely will.

We always stay at a hotel close to the airport whenever we arrive late and depart early. Hotel shuttle is a must, and the breakfast is always nice. Best Western consistently provides a clean hotel and friendly staff.

The actual building, employees, rooms and breakfast was great. The area was a mix of new buildings and run down closed buildings close to coliseum and close to under BART tracks. Tucked away off of the main drag the second street in, almost residential, and was a place you wouldn't expect a hotel to be tucked away in. Some guys hanging out late on the street.

Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. This is a decent priced room so don't expect views, it is in an industrial area. We felt very safe and comfortable with our vehicles in the parking lot. Lots of restaurants within walking distance or very short drive. Great friendly staff and free shuttle to the Oracle. WIFI worked extremely well.

Coming back late from Maui and needed a hotel close to the Oakland airport for an early morning flight. The location is somewhat sketchy, but the hotel is very nice. Easy check in process, friendly staff, quiet room. Shuttle provided to the airport. It was crowded as many other travelers had the same idea. Priced reasonable for the close proximity to airport. But nothing to do around the hotel; just a place to get a bed.

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The clean room is good size with two queen beds, House keeping does a good job and room is usually cleaned quite early. The breakfast selections are better than most similar hotels. although we did not use the hotel shuttle service, it seems running on time every half hour, but you have to request your pick up. The hotel location is surrounded by factories and warehouses and there is a sushi place near and beyond that you would have to request their shuttle service including to the Bart stations. The hotel has an indoor pool and a small gym if you need to work out, free wifi and no smoking, although we did smell tobacco smoke one night. We probably will stay there again if we have a rental car.

the staff was very professional,friendly,and very helpful. all my questions were answered. the room was very clean and well maintained, breakfast had many options and the food i had was delicious, eggs bacon, hash browns,yogurt,orange juice and coffee.

The staff were professional, friendly and pleasant. Things were done timely. The only reason my review is not excellent is due to the location. While the location is less than 5 minutes from the Oakland Airport on a street named Hegenberger, the Best Western sits off the Hegenberger and there are a number of transients in the area, which was a little disarming. Although, probably harmless, it's a risk factor.

Our stay was outstanding! We had an enjoyable and most of all a VERY comfortable experience. The bed was amazingly comfortable...like sleeping on a cloud! The property is exceptionally clean and well maintained, but the professionalism and friendliness of the staff is top notch. Every request we made was met instantly with genuine pleasure and essence of hospitality. I am remiss that I did not get any names because the attendant of the breakfast room deserves recognition. She made sure that each and every guest felt welcome and assisted in every way she could. Her friendly, happy and smiling voice helped make the morning and was a pleasant start to our day. This was our second stay here, and as with most Best Westerns, you get more than you pay for. Excellent, helpful and friendly staff that prepared a “grab and go” bag for us to take on the plane since we left just before the breakfast buffet opened. They have a shuttle that runs between the hotel, the airport and the BART station near the baseball stadium and Oracle arena. This was just the best for us since we'd flown to Oakland for a Bruce Springsteen concert at the Oracle and then flew home. Large, clean room with a large bathroom and excellent shower. Most general amenities, and the usual generous BW breakfast spread. In room safe and great free wi-fi. Situated in an industrial area, so you don't stay here for the environment. It's strictly for the convenience and value. Wouldn't even consider another place if we come back to Oakland.

Really nice hotel. we went for a basketball game and were surprised that they offered free transportation to the Oracle Arena for the game very nice. Clean and very pleasant staff. Will definitely stay there again.

Good location for easy access to Oakland Airport and BART transportation via the shuttle offered by the hotel. Hotel is well maintained and rooms are clean, quiet and with modern touches.

Stayed at this location 2 times now, been pleased both times. Staff is very helpful, rooms are clean and updated, large flat screen, comfortable beds, good breakfast, secure & bright parking lot, as well as an indoor pool, and even a free airport shuttle.

One of the best hotels ever at the Airport. The bed is worth the price!!! Easy check-in and check-out. The room was the cleanest ever and that BED! so comfortable. Didn't have breakfast this time, but it looked great.

I had nicely appointed, very quiet room just minutes from OAK. My rental car had a flat and the staff suggestions were helpful (7 pm on a Sunday night). Their airport shuttle runs 24-7. Imagine my surprise when I had a bag breakfast sack handed to me at 4:30 a.m.! Exceptional!! I would certainly recommend this hotel to others.

This Inn is reasonably priced and near OAK airport. Front desk person was very nice. Room, nice. In bed and awakened at 11:08p.m. by the odor of cigarette smoke penetrating through something -not cool! It smells like a club from 1987. I've covered the vents and placed a towel at the bottom of the entry door and still, it's coming in. I would not ever stay here, again. My eyes are burning, sore throat and difficulty with my asthma. No sleep before a long flight. Thumbs down on this Inn. Stay at the Hilton.

Stayed one night 1/29. Check in was fine, the lady was ok. She did provide information about food delivery, but aside from that maybe work on your customer service. The room was fine, big enough for 2 with 2 beds. Only there one night and the place was kind of in a lousy area, seemed unsafe at night. Had breakfast in the morning, free breakfast. It was good, like all the other Best Westerns. I love staying at Best Westerns!

The service was great. They have a free shuttle from the Oakland airport & will shuttle you within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. That made it very nice for catching the BART & finding various places to have dinner. Enjoyed their pool & hot tub. Very clean. The breakfasts were really good & changed some every few days. Great location for getting on the 880 N or S freeway. My 1st time driving in California. This property definitely made my visit a lot easier.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. Although it is in the middle of a bunch of warehouses and airport traffic, we felt like we were in an oasis. The pool and hot tub are excellent and our room was lovely. We were very well-rested and relaxed after our two night away.

I stay at hotels for business half of each work week so I expected the Oakland airport Best Western to be just another place to get a few hours of sleep before heading home after a vacation trip to Hawaii. I was wrong. The service was outstanding, from the minute we boarded the shuttle from the airport until we stepped off the shuttle the next morning. All staff went out of their way to be helpful. The free breakfast was delicious. Our room was comfortable and quiet. I highly recommend this hotel.

That was definitely the best of the five hotels I have been to during my 10-day visit in the Bay area. Very pleasant and courteous staff at the reception, large and comfy bed, a nice view, functional bathroom, efficient WiFi network, etc. I cannot judge the TV quality because I do not use it. In short, go there!

I have used B.W. several times before specifically for the extended car option. I was told I could keep my car for one week for free then $10/day additional beyond the 7 days. When I arrived, they told me they do NOT provide this car option at all! I had to scramble to make other arrangements at the very last minute! This is not how one wants to start a vacation and I will never use them again

I thought I liked this place a lot until I came back after dinner and was accosted by the front desk staff. They indicated that they put me in the wrong room and needed me to move. Now this is inconvenient for anyone but for me it is EXTREMELY inconvenient since I bring my own sheets, have a C-PAP machine and had unpacked all of my work clothes. Since the bed was made, my machine was hooked up and ready to go and my clothes were hung it was very frustrating. I reluctantly moved after being promised on at least 3 occasions during the conversation that I would be compensated for their mistake with a reduced rate. The next room was fine, not as roomy and more "smelly" with chemicals than the first...likely since I called ahead for a room with no air freshener. Anyway, I was still okay with this...I'd have given them a 3 but when I looked at my receipt later at the airport I found that there was no discount applied. I mean I would have moved without it (albeit not happy) but don't promise me something and not follow through...that ticked me off! I'm done with Best Western at this point.

They no longer have their van pick you up when you return your rental car. They make you wait for the airport van to take you to the airport then wait for another 1/2 hour for the hotel to do a pick up to take you back to the hotel. When I arrive at the hotel I am very sleepy and want to return my rental car before I go to bed (and take a flight out in the morning). This loss of a rental car area pick up will have me choosing another nearby hotel. I have used this Best Western for years and have been 100% happy with them. I am so sad that they are doing this.

I wish we had more time for the breakfast but I was traveling with my 5 yr old granddaughter and we had to catch an early flight. She would have loved to have more to eat but I didn't want to miss the shuttle.I also wanted to take advantage of the breakfast service. Coffee was surprisingly not bad. Shuttle was prompt and driver was polite and prompt on a very rainy morning.

Quiet (off the beaten path) but very convenient to the Oakland Airport. Friendly staff, nice large room (got upgraded for free), and handy shuttle to the airport. Didn't get to try the breakfast (left too early for it), but great that it's included.

We stayed here on the way to Hawaii. The lady at the front desk told us the shuttle ran to and from the airport every 30 minutes. Everything was great, the room was great, the people were friendly, the lady that drove us to the airport was on time and even brought us a muffin to enjoy since we were leaving too early to catch the free breakfast. On the trip back from Hawaii, we got out of the airport at 9:15 and waited at the pickup point for the next shuttle to arrive at 9:30. At 9:35 the shuttle still had not arrived so we called the hotel. They told us you have to request a shuttle and that the next one would not run until 10:00 pm. Seriously? When we expand to them that we were told the shuttle would run every 30 minutes they said that's not what they said. The older couple that was also waiting told us they were told exactly the same thing we were told. Regardless, when you have 8 people standing at the airport waiting, why not go ahead and send someone over to pick them up, instead of telling them to wait another 30 minutes for the next scheduled shuttle? There is a flaw in your process. I would like to use this hotel for another upcoming trip, but this experience has me looking elsewhere. Like I said before, the morning staff was excellent, but the night staff left us hanging.

First the good. Nice front desk staff, easy check in and large clean room. Excellent shuttle to/from the Oakland Airport for flights. Now the rest. We used the stay and fly for a week vacation by air. This is a sketchy neighborhood in an industrial-looking airport area so I parked my vehicle in full view of the motel front door, maybe 100' away and under a bright light. Four days into our vacation I got a message from the staff that my car window had been broken into at 10pm. I called back about 90 minutes later, the person on duty had absolutely no idea what I was talking about, no information has been left with her. The next day I talked with the manager and got his apology for the break in and his emphatic reminder that I had signed a paper saying they were not responsible for vehicles on their property. He further stated that there are numerous signs in the parking lot stating the same thing. His primary concern was that I fully understand that they assumed absolutely no responsibility for cars in their lot. As I told him, and I want to emphasize to anyone staying in this facility...if your car is not safe in this parking lot, you are not safe in this parking lot. The same glass fracturing device used on my car can be used on your person. This place is brightly lighted, has only one way in...the same way out and still lacks what in my opinion is a minimal level of security. Leaving your car here? Keep your fingers crossed!!

Free parking, free breakfast, pleasant staff, convenient location near airport and freeway, clean room and grounds, reasonable price, what more do you want from a Hotel. The hotel was not sold out so we were able to check in early. The only problem was their business computer kept losing connection to the internet.

This hotel is in a shady neighborhood but the hotel is clean and has a great pool and hot tub. Have never had any problems with our car in the parking lot despite the neighborhood. We have stayed here in the past and I am sure we will stay there again. There is also a shuttle service to the airport and this hotel is also close to all the park and fly lots.

When you go to a hotel you want Comfort and that is what you will get from this fine hotel. I have stated at many places some that were rated 5 star but they did not compare to this one. This one is better. The staff is very diverse and make you feel like you are a familiar friend. They are all very much professionals at their jobs trying and succeeding at making their guests feel safe, secure and comfortable. The hotel is clean where ever you go in it. They have a work out room, a pool and an area to borrow their computer to get on the Internet. Free wi fi and the rooms are beautiful. The beds are like heaven when you go to sleep. The pillows are so soft and the beds make it hard to leave. They have a complimentary breakfast which includes eggs, sausage, cereal, nuts, raisins, yogurt, bagels, muffins, and a waffle maker so you or your kids can make their their own. They have fresh squeezed orange juice and milk and apple juice. And fresh fruit. The rooms have a large fridge with a freezer and a microwave and coffee maker and blow dryer. Now the area is in an industrial area so not much of a view but it's beautiful on the inside. It's a wonderful hotel and I will only want to come back here again and again. They also have a shuttle to take you where you want to go and pick you up. It would take my husband to the Bart and drop him off to go into San Francisco and pick him up when he was ready. Outstanding service, outstanding staff, outstanding hotel. One more thing, I have never felt safer then in this hotel. If you stay here I guarantee you will be a Best Western Plus lifer.

Great stay! Very close to Oracle Arena... Will be at this Best Western again when there's an A's or Warriors game. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding and the laundry service was a plus.

Clean, big room. A few funky things. Main problem is can't get wi-fi on a Mac laptop. Front desk was courteous and tried to help by trying to connect me with tech support but a long wait and I gave up.

If you plan on going to this hotel, beware that it is hard to find. It is located on Hegenbarger Loop, not road. We went all the way to Dolittle road looking for it, and had to make sveral U-turns. Once we found it, the service was excellent, especially the shuttle driver.

I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and they never let me down. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The lobby area recently remodeled so there is a new business area with new computers. Staff is always friendly and professional. The location near the airport is fantastic and the shuttle service s great.

We have stayed twice at the BW using Park and Fly. The first time was uneventful. This time we left our Lexus again parked in front of the Hotel facing the lobby. When we returned our back window had a piece of cardboard SCOTCHED TAPED OVER THE WINDOW EVEN THAT IT WAS BEGINNING TO RAIN RAINING. The back seat was full of broken glass and all of our contents had been stolen. We of course were more than upset. The staff continued to state that the Hotel was not liable. The Hotel is adequate but the only reason was to use park and fly. I repeat THIS IS NOT A SAFE HOTEL.

We enjoyed the two night stay - the hotel was impeccably clean, not fancy but nice, very comfy beds, quiet, great breakfast, a recommended place to stay - THE VERY BEST PART was the service! Laleeka at the front desk went out of her way to ensure our comfort, and help us find and get everything we needed. She was a delight. The breakfast room staff was also great. The food was a step above normal hotel breakfasts, due in part to the great staff but also the management chose better ingredients, like the yogurts, and higher quality eggs, breads and pastry. We would definitely stay here next time we pass throughout the bay area. Thank you to everyone!

Overall, we usually like this hotel...a lot...for flying from Oakland Airport. Pros: Cost is reasonable, free breakfast, airport shuttle, free Internet, clean Cons: showing signs of age, rooms should be updated, paint on hallway walls is horrible, had to call hotel to get shuttle to pick us up around 9:30 at night. Neighborhood is very sketchy, but hotel is safe and secure feeling

We stayed here because it was close to the airport and we had a very early flight. The lobby was being remodeled and there was some work going on, but the staff and workers were very accommodating. The room was excellent and the airport noise was negligible. The bedding was excellent. The alarm clock was not functioning, but we arranged for a wake-up call. There are no restaurants within walking distance, so keep that in mind. We were fortunate that the staff arranged to have the airport van driver bring us to an In-N-Out Burger so we could grab something. The hotel really is a bit isolated in this respect.

Not much to say here. I imagine there are worse. In poor location via safety. In rather poor conditions. Not run like hotels I am accustom to. I would recommend elsewhere. If this has 3 stars, it need demotion....

I had a hard time finding this hotel, it's well hidden behind an old warehouse off Hegenberger and the 880 South, and it took me a while of driving around to finally get there. The hotel is nothing special from the outside but the front desk staff were very nice and I have to say the room was nicely done. It was very large with a good flat screen TV and a decent bathroom, and was surprisingly quiet considering it's just blocks from the 880 freeway. Although it was pricey, and maybe just because it was the evening before Remembrance Day, it was a decent stay. They do include a continental breakfast which I left too early to try, and free wifi and parking so that helps, it was also very clean.

We stay at this hotel when we visit San Francisco and Oakland. Its a very good value and the indoor pool is a real bonus. It's right across the street from a shopping area that has an INN N OUT, which is a great hamburger place. This is only a few blocks off the freeway but there is no road noise. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is very good with a lot of selections. Love having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Beds are too hard for us but we are probably in the minority in preferring a soft bed.

Oakland airport area is not in the best neighborhood but I felt very safe at this hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for business or leisure. Airport shuttle was also excellent.

front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. LImo driver to airport was great. The room and breakfast buffet were high quality compared with other Best Western hotels. My only complaint was that there was no restaurant within walking distance. We were not comfortable walking to the fast food places nearby at dusk or later. So I rated the overall value as average because of this fact.

If you have business or leisure travel and need a hotel close to the Oakland airport for the early morning departure, this is your hotel. Rooms are very spacious and well appointed. Bed was very comfortable and all furniture was well maintained. All lamps had electrical outlets to charge phones and electronics. The bathroom was sparkling clean. Breakfast was served at 6 am and there is shuttle service to airport every 30 min beginning at 6:30 for a 5-7 min drive to airport. This is one of the nicest Best Western hotels I've stayed at so it should suit your needs great for travel in the Oakland area.

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. The rooms were clean and neat. Beds were great. I was pleased they had delivery options on food since I did not have a car. The next morning the shuttle service was exceptional. Friendly driver.

I have never had such a horrible experience at a hotel. First of all it smelled funny. Second the bathroom door closes on its own and while going in the bathroom it closed on me and the towel hook on the door hit my arm causing an instant knot and bruise. It would have cut me if I hadn't been wearing a sweater. The hotel would do NOTHING to rectify the fact that I was injured in their hotel. Even the manager said there was nothing they could do. No refund no compensation at all. HORRIBLE customer service. I would NEVER recommend anyone stay here. EVER.

Hotel was in good distance from the training conference I had to attend for work. The hotel was clean and off the freeway. The only downside is there is not much places to eat, especially for dinner. The restaurants that were around, closed early, so you had to drive to get something for dinner. The continental breakfast was available, which was your typical continental breakfast (eggs, bacon, waffle maker, muffins, bagels, cereal) with not much variety, but enough to get you started in the day if you like that kind of food. Overall, the room was nice and the beds were semi comfortable.

Very good place to stay, looks a little scary its in a industrial area. But we felt safe, we even walked to to O.Co coliseum to and from. We did not experience anything that made us not feel safe. If I go to Oakland for another Raider game. I will choose this hotel again, we really liked it.

This hotel is outstanding. Everything is a plus like they say they are. All staff are friendly & courteous. Hotel is super clean with all the amenities you need. Pool. Jacuzzi and a full on breakfast. The shuttle practically takes you anywhere you want in town 24/7. Excellent rates as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

So as part of a leadership team and a large hotel im normally very picky about the hotels i stay at. So my experience started before even staying. Several weeks ago i tried to call the hotel several times to add days to my reservation. Everytime we called the line was busy, morning, noon, and night, even the middle of the night. We came very close to canceling are reservation because we did not even know if the hotel was still standing. We decided to keep are reservation and just stay somewhere else the two extra nights. So everything started good when we got there. We got to the hotel way early about 10am and our room was ready. The room it self was very nice. It was cleaned perfectly and i found not a single issue with the room. We stayed 4 nights and halfway through are stay we had our room serviced and the housekeeping staff did a very great job. View from the room is just the parking lot but we where not there for the view so it was fine. When it comes to the guest service it was really good for the most part. We ran into 5 different front desk staff all of them where very nice and helpful. The only one that was rude was the guy at the front desk who works at night. He was very rude on the phone when we called for the shuttle to come pick us up. Two out of the three shuttle drivers we ran into where very nice and talked to us and made conversation. The third works at night to when he came to pick us up he did not say a word. Last the housekeeping staff guest service was very poor. Not a single one we ran into said hi or good morning. We where on the elevator with a lot of them and not a word was said. I do have to give credit to the housekeeping Supervisor for at least trying to talk to us even though she said she did not know english. When it comes to the extra amenities with the hotel. The shuttle not only took you to the airport but it also took you to the BART station. It also took you to every food restaurant and store near by that was very helpful. The pool was very nice went down there everyday. Towards the end of the week the pool was getting a little dirty dont know if they clean it everyday but they should. It best part of it was the pool towels they where not the small sand paper towels they where really good. Breakfast was amazing. We ate breakfast there everyday and it was really really good i very much enjoyed it. There selection was amazing. The only bad thing was the biscuits where a little hard and you had to microwave your own breakfast burritos. Overall i would give this place 4 stars. I would love to go back and anytime im in that area i will stay there. I reccomend this place for anyone. Good job for the staff and the leadership team of this hotel.

This hotel is conviently located at the edge of oakland making it very convienent to get back and forth from san fran. The parking is FREE and the lot was not overcrowded. I loved the room and the free breakfast was delicious. The only downfall was the rude staff at the front desk. Made my trip start off and end on a bad note

We booked this hotel because I didn't realise finding a hotel in San Francisco with free parking would be such a problem. It is a typical Best Western with a large bedroom, two queen beds and large bathroom. WiFi was free and worked well. Breakfast was typical both free and filling but nothing special. You cannot walk anywhere from this hotel. However they provide a free shuttle bus to a number of local places such as restaurants and the BART station. The bus departs from the hotel every 30 minutes. However there are a few disappointing issues. The view from our window was of about 100 dumped lamps of various shapes and sizes! Whoever agreed to that? Our room card keys stopped working every 24 hours. How come they don't warn guests so they can get them fixed BEFORE they go upstairs to their room? On reception they said it was because we kept them near our phone but we don't have a phone. Worst was our experience of the shuttle bus after a long day in the city we used a pay phone at the BART to request a pick up and we were told it was on its way. After 30 minutes I had to use the payphone again and was told I had to wait for the next bus. It seems we missed the first one which was " on its way "and even though they knew we were waiting all that time the next bus wasn't despatched for another 30 minutes. Poor communication and rather inflexible. So on balance not that convenient for the city. Train to SF was $8.50 return

our stay was awful. Room smelled and was hot. It was 96 degrees when we checked in and the air conditioning was TURNED OFF> Also only 1 ice machine worked in the hotel abnd had not ice ...not at all. Bed was not very comfortable. Big Rip in the screen. Bedding was old and tattered.Lady at checkout was not very nice.

The hotel is modern, clean, quiet, and well maintained. Check-in was prompt and courteous. The elevator is slow. My room was spacious and had a separate seating area with a couch. Microwave and refrigerator are provided. The bed is comfortable, but all of the pillows were too thick for my preference. The room was relatively quiet except for a low, vibrating noise, much like a large car engine warming up, was annoying during the quiet of the night. I think a big motor in the HVAC system is out of balance. The "free" breakfast is better than many with meat and eggs available in addition to the make-your-own waffles and the variety of cold foods. Although I did not use the service, the shuttle to the airport was clearly doing a brisk business.

Stayed over the Labor Day weekend 2015 when we visited San Francisco. Hotel is a typical Best Western Plus, with adequate clean quiet rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff. The indoor pool looked very nice but we did not get to use it. Not a great area but do not let that put you off a stay at this location. It is close to the freeway but has other transport options available for a trip to San Francisco. It is also close to the Oakland Coliseum.

This was a good choice for us. Beds were firm, but padded enough for comfort. Only thing missing from breakfast was oatmeal, but what they offered was good and sufficient. Hall carpet dated and dirty looking, but not in my room which was clean and new. At least they have their priorities straight. The location is in a seedy neighborhood, so I walked outside the hotel very little and opted for the fitness center which was okay.
