Best Western Plus North Haven Hotel

We stayed one night, and the check in desk was super nice. The room was clean and updated, but the bathroom could use some work. It was dated and dinged up. The room was quiet even though we were in the front of the building facing the main road. Breakfast was typical for a hotel breakfast but perfect for getting out early.

Hi, We booked a Banquet facility at this place. We had 350 people and our experience was great. The event organizer Anne Klarman was the most attentive person I have met in helping us in organizing it. Anne went above and beyond to help out. She met many times with my team to go over the agenda and make sure we have no problems on the event day. She was present on the day of the event and stayed till we finished the program. She is a superstar and I will recommend this place to anyone who is interested to have an event at this place. Hope the owners of this place recognize her dedication and commitment. 10 Stars from my organization for Anne and her team.

Great place to stay at the last minute. Near a lot of fun things. Close to New Haven. Restaurant leaves something to be desired but breakfast was good. The train tracks are across the parking lot but last train that went by was about 11 PM and earliest around 7 AM so did not wake us or anything but just beware that they are there!

Nice location, clean but dated rooms. Bed was not very comfortable. Staff was all very nice. The common areas were nicely updated and pleasant - breakfast was good (although we had to wait ten minutes for eggs). Our room was very old looking, carpets were worn, etc.

Very pleased with the overall experience at the Best Western Plus in North Haven, CT. The rooms were very clean and free of any pet odor (we have a small dog) and have had bad experiences with overused carpet freshener and pet odor. The fitness room and pool were super clean and in great shape. Breakfast was excellent with personal touch with a server that prepared full sized big old fluffy waffles - impressive! The only disappointment was that the restaurant was closed early and we had planned on a late family meal in house. I was told that it was the first day they had opened the dining area and that a grand opening was a week ahead- so I did understand. I would have appreciated the check in person to haver had the correct info to give us so we could have planned accordingly, instead out family dinner was an Arby's drive thru. We will make this a frequent stay when we visit the area.

Older hotel. As clean as it can be but they seem to "make due" with what they have instead of updating. for instance, toilet tank lid did not match the toilet so did not fit correctly. The shower was pretty good except the water collected in the tub to where it was above my ankles when finished with a short shower. This is a pet friendly hotel. One morning of our stay, there was dog poop in the hall. Railroad tracks in the rear of the building with trains going by at all hours of day and night. Breakfast offered a large variety of hot and cold items. It is served in an old restaurant which also is in need of repairs/updating. It is very dark and dated.

Horrible front desk service, they gave a key to my room to a person just becaude they gave my name and room number. since it matched they said it was ok, when I asked why would they do that, they responded with it was hotel policy.

This is probably the Best Best Western I have stayed at. Definitely the most bang for the buck. Excellent large breakfast. Large heated warm pool. Larger than average workout room with fee weight dumbbells. Shopping and groceries close to hotel.

This hotel is situated directly beside a high-speed rail line meaning several trains every hour pass-by between 0555 to midnight and when they do the noise is terribly loud and distracting. Upon our arrival we found the reception desk to be severely under-staffed as there were many guests checking-in yet only one front desk person indicating very poor management.

This hotel should close and after it has been renovated reopened. At least be able to clean the room each day. We booked this hotel in April 2023. There were no available rooms when we arrived to check in. They had not cleaned a room for us.

Economy hotel standards are unacceptable to my wife, but top-line room prices have escalated. Best Western has been the best value for price and has become our "go-to" choice. Staff is friendly, helpful and efficient dealing with any issues.

Overall the hotel is clean and well taken care of. However, the bathroom in our room was not as clean as one would expect. The breakfast was basic 'grab and go', not as advertised on the website. The website advertised hot foods and a selection that includes eggs, bacon, etc. but it ended up being cereal, muffins, etc.

We were very disappointed - 30 of us stayed 2 nights for a weekend wedding. We came from other states and 2 other countries. The pool was too cold to use and the Continental breakfast was not appetizing at all.

Beds were uncomfortable. Fitness room outdated.The front desk was very nice. Very knowledgeable about area. The hotel is in the middle of some maintenance so breakfast was grab n go style.A new restaurant will be opening on the premises soon. Not far from interstate 91 which is very good!

Easy off 91. Very clean, Great staff. Not far from great restaurants. We have told several friends about our stay in North Haven. Glad you were there. We will stay again for local family and friend meetings.

"Full breakfast" was only a few packaged pastries, cereal, yogurt or juice and some slices of bread or fruit, if that. This doesn't count as even a continental breakfast--no hot food as advertised. Restaurant was closed down and empty. Asst Manager said the website describes only continental breakfast offered now, but it still says full, hot breakfast as of 5 min ago. Hallways needed new paint and carpet. Water pipes in wall shook when we showered, toilet seat worn, carpet coming off baseboard, artwork had blood stains. Indoor pool water looked bad and foamy, mosquitoes everywhere. Both ice making machines were broken. A posted sign and the Asst Manager said hotel under renovation, but no evidence of this. Housekeeping consisted of putting 3 towels on a bed, no emptying trash, cleaning floor, refilling TP and soaps or making beds. We had a less expensive and nicer, convenient hotel in NYC! When I responded to survey, General Manager sent back generic form letter. No response yet from BW Corporate Office. Should be a BW Minus, only 2-star hotel.

The hotel was really good, the service was excellent. I really enjoy my stay there. The hotel smells so good. The location was nice a lot a place to eat. Everything was so good. I really recommend this hotel

Unassuming and surprisingly a great hotel. We would definitely stay again. It was incredibly clean, minimally decorated but with updated furnishings. It was great location (right off the highway), the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were covered with bright white duvets, crisp clean sheets and the room included bright white bath towels. The interior of the room was updated and uniquely well dusted. The internet easily connected and was good. For families traveling with teams or kids, the pool was large and clean. All around, this was a great hotel at a great price. Will definitely be back.

Grounds were not taken care of Room smelled like stale smoke and mildew Something that looked like Blood on wall and possibly picture on wall Bathroom had mold on ceiling and walls . Wallpaper peeling. Air conditioner was loud and not cold Great location to quinnipiac that's why we stayed but will not be returning .

Place needs an upgrade...rooms to small noise in the hall ways an trash in the lot damage to the rear of building ;first floor kids running the the motel walls need paint and rugs need cleaning ...an pictures on the google need to be tooking Down

Stayed at Best western plus for two nights entryway was decorated nicely for holidays, large indoor pool (didn't use but looked inviting) hallways were freezing and room was dated. Had room on first floor with a sliding door to courtyard. Door had a huge gap making room drafty and freezing cold The courtyard had a few broken picnic tables and was definitely unkept Bathroom door handle was broken. shower rod was hung wrong so the shower curtain would touch me as I showered YUCK! Walls are very thin could hear kids in hallways talking and running around (no big deal) but hearing the tv from the room next door all night long was annoying Restaurant on premises was nice and staff was welcoming. Hook and ladder manager on the other hand was unprofessional and apparently never learned how to control herself and have a conversation without calling people names and walking away mid sentence!

Hotel was clean but in serious need of updating. I won't go into details again (already reported in the hotel survey), but we ended up dumping our breakfast in the trash and going to a McDonald's after we checked out.

Hotel was clean. Breakfast was cold. Waffle maker didn't work. Muffins were old and solid. We had to go somewhere else and buy breakfast during our stay. No hot water in the shower. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.

We stayed here as we were passing through town. We booked it online ahead of time. The room could've been cleaner and the carpet had several stains. We had to call down for more linens as there weren't enough provided for the pull out bed we needed. The sheets they provided were rough and had holes in them. My suggestion would be to find another place to stay, especially for the money we paid for the suite we needed since there were 6 of us.

We stayed here because we were attending an event in the banquet hall in the hotel and visiting. Following reviews I requested for a quiet room, courtyard facing and in the upper floor. Reviews said that will be away from the train line but you can still hear the train loud and clear. The room also had two adjoining doors which were locked on both sides of the room which is strange. You can hear anyone in the next room quite clearly. Bathroom is very very small for a King room. Carpet was dirty and worn. The bed was very comfortable. Room and bathroom were clean. There was a microwave in the room which was useful. Vending machines with snacks and drinks on each floor. Reviews said the breakfast was good. I don't necessarily agree. The options are just ok. I had just the eggs, potatoes and sausages for 3 days. It was ok. There's also cereal, oatmeal, breads,waffles and yoghurt. However there's free coffee and creamers by the reception which was great. For the price the hotel really needs to be updated. You can tell it's old. Staff were always polite. Would I stay here again? Probably not but I'd say it's ok for an overnight stay only.

Very good location off of the highway that is close to many restaurants. The rooms were clean and spacious. The check-in and hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The pool hours were convenient. The pool was clean and spacious.

The room was clean and the bathroom/shower was exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable and the night was quiet. The breakfast was good with fresh eggs, sausage, home style potatoes, cereal, and self cook waffles. Would be better with some fresh fruit.

We stayed one night on the way to Maine. Wish we could have stayed here on the return trip. Much nicer than the other brand we stayed at. Nice location , easy to find and quiet . Pool was cold but was nice after a 95 degree day.

Convenient location in suburban New Haven. Attentive staff, yet this property felt old, dated and dark. Large suite, but cramped bath. Old fixtures. Cavernous, creepy pub on-site, not sure if it was really open for service. Very basic for one night stay, but no "Plus".

The room had an odor like the carpet was wet. The toilet didn't flush and maintenance was not available to address the issue. The gym equipment is old and does not work properly. I was able to work out but I had to keep adjusting the settings on the equipment. The rooms on the 2nd floor are nicer than the rooms on the 1st floor.

We were encouraged to stay here because it was close to an event we were attending. We requested the help of front desk with a broken toilet, heating/cooling issues, and the door to our room would not secure automatically. If we didn't physically push the door shut it didn't secure at all! Issues were not addressed.

We arrived on Tuesday, July 12th later in the afternoon and checked in. The hotel is definitely in need of a rehab, but we were only there for one night, so it would be fine. We went out, got dinner and returned. We went to use the deadbolt and it would not lock. The knob would turn, but the lock itself would not engage or move. I was not comfortable staying in a room without a working deadbolt. I went to the front desk and told the young woman the issue and she said there was no maintenance available and the hotel was booked so we couldn't switch rooms. Thankfully she offered a refund right away without me having to ask, but now I was inconvenienced with having to find somewhere else to stay for the night (which fortunately we were able to do). How can there not be maintenance on call in the evening? Supposed a toilet/sink/tub overflowed or there was some kind of other maintenance issue that just couldn't wait? That part didn't make sense to me.

Hotel was dirty. Hallways smelled like cigarette smoke as did the first room I was assigned. They graciously changed our room assignment. The outside doors never locked and the key card readers were off so anyone can enter any door of the hotel at all times. Garbage piled up outside the doors. Poor area was dirty. No towels in pool area. Exercise equipment not in working order. Overall a dump.

Definitely needs updating. Staff are very good. Corporate needs to spend some money to make it an above average place to stay. Pool advertised as heated, not. In the center courtyard there should be chairs for people to enjoy sitting outside their ground room's. Some cosmetic upgrades would make this a 4 star hotel.

We were first assigned room 159 I immediately went to the desk asking for a different room. I was then given 205 it was slightly better. When we entered the building you were instantly hit with a smell of smoke and mildew. There were people sitting in the lot barely clothed and a woman dangling her baby out a second story window. We entered our room and it was not clean, there was a connecting door which wasn't latching properly and you could hear everything thru the walls. The first floor rooms are the worst the second floor looks like it may have been remodeled slightly and it's brighter and doesn't smell. Still though the room they gave us as a replacement had things smeared on the walls and the moulding on the walls was peeling off. We booked this as part of a hockey camp recommendation this was the host hotel. They should be ashamed that they even offer this hotel as the place to stay. I felt very unsafe and did not feel like the room was sanitary at all. Not sure what this mass and stain on the curtains were, there was black mold on the walls and I don't want to know what the brown stuff smeared on the closet and door jamb was. The rooms are also extremely small.

My wife and I stay at the North Haven Best Western whenever we come down to the New Haven area. The staff has been helpful with my need to be flexible with dates. The room is clean. Great mattress. And the full breakfast is a great bonus.

Great value for the price paid. Newly renovated and very comfortable hotel for our weekend Baseball tournament at Connecticut Sportsplex. Close to the fields and anything we needed for the weekend. The fridge and microwave in the room was a nice bonus.

This hotel smells of smoke and is dirty. The walls are paper thin and you hear EVERYTHING from domestics to kids going wild to TV shows people are watching. It was hands down the worst stay our family has ever had and we travel a great deal for hockey.

The building is very large with many hallways and corridors to cover before you get to certain rooms. I would never stay here again. We finally found an open stairway that somewhat shortened our way to breakfast. Very, very confusing. Dark automobile entrance at night through what seemed like an Arby's parking lot.

So sad, such potential, yet the place is uncared for. Litter all over courtyard,pool totally unkept and filthy,sliding door inoperable…..for the last several years this place has gone down hill. What a let down when you plan on swimming with your grandchildren and you inquire about the foam and debris in the pool and the desk clerk agreed that probably we shouldn't use…..really? What if we used it and got sick? Please please get your maintenance in order! We love the location, but it is past ok.

I stayed at this location years ago when it was a Holiday Inn. The brand has changed but the place is pretty much the same, with a low-slung (two stories), sprawling layout that necessitates a lot of walking if you want to get to the restaurant, for example. Signs in the hallway announced renovations, but they hadn't gotten to my room, which showed some signs of wear and tear. Nevertheless it was clean and spacious, though the toilet handle had a habit of sticking, wasting water. The front desk and other staff on site were uniformly pleasant and the included breakfast was generous. The location is right next to I-91 on a busy state highway, which makes for traffic noise but also easy access to all nearby points.

Beware that side doors are NOT locked so anyone can get into the building even after hours. The staff blames lack of maintenance!!! Also found black bits in the ice bucket - not sure if they came from the ice machine or from the plastic liner for the ice bucket. Otherwise, the hotel seems fine - beds are comfortable, breakfast was OK but the same every day. Staff is friendly enough but not too helpful in actual problem solving.

This hotel has no structure. Not sure if there are no security guards or enough staff to keep the gas under control. The hotel was very overwhelming very noisy with all the kids running around and seem like it was an unsafe environment for children.

Location was great for a visit to Quinnipiac. Hotel room seemed fine, pool was too gross to swim in. Kids out their feet in it and were grossed out. Breakfast in the restaurant was eh. Would've been nice when the fire alarm went off at 7:15am and we evacuated that staff come around and tell us all was ok. We sat in the car since it was raining, drive around to the front where the guy shrugged and said that burnt toast set it off again. Ok, but some of us were worried when we were woken up by a blaring alarm!!!

I stayed at the hotel for quick trip to help with the upcoming wedding for my niece. I noticed immedietly that the grounds of the hotel was littered with trash. The young ladies at the front desk were very nice..helpful when I had questions. The elevator has trash in it- old cups and paper napkins. Once inside the room, I was shocked to find such worn furniture and very small bathroom and smelly room. The fixtures holding the toilet paper were loose in the wall, the shower needed to be re-caulked, the shower head leaked which caused the water to spray on the floor. Went to breakfast the next morning to find a very worn resturant. The waiter, Michael, was very nice. Greeted each customer with a smile and was very helpful. I booked this hotel for my upcoming wedding but will cancel the reservation despite the decent price that my niece was given- I can't do this again. Please remember that the CDC has not said that COVID is over. It's important to keep the glass doors clean and free from finger prints and smudges. Also, please send in the groundskeepers. It's Spring !!

One of the beds had an unidentified pink substance on corner of bedskirt and wall. I reported it to front desk staff and it was cleaned and changed by the time I arrived back to hotel from my event. Bathroom door knob was loose, but dealt with it. We were assigned to a first floor room across from elevator so we dealt with noise all night; and no sleep. Door to parking lot was not working so anyone could walk into hotel. Some pros - laundry room on site, great shower pressure, restaurants nearby, and full breakfast.

This place was great! Everyone was very nice and helped me get whatever I needed quickly. The breakfast was very good and fresh every morning. The gym was always clean and had a lot of good equipment.

Please stay anywhere but this hotel. The allure of the staff is misleading. You will travel down a dungy hallways to what reeks of cigarette smoke, marijuana, and overall cleanliness neglect. The "pool" resembles a gurgling swamp from a distance. The room was stained in multiple palces, the bed was horrifically uncomfortable, the shower was something out of the 1970's, and the location of the room was almost unimaginably bad. The train track was so close to my room I could almost reach out and touch it. All night I was awoken by what sounded like mini hurricanes passing by my head. How someone could be stupid enough to build a place where people sleep that close to a hotel is beyond me. The only redeeming quality of this hotel is the breakfast, that was fantastic. The staff are nice, but their warm smiles do not make up for the dirt poor quality of this establishment. Stay literally anywhere else, it will be worth your extra few minute drive to actually get some rest.

The hotel is very good is comfortable. But the pool water is not clean, the ceiling was failing some parts on the pool area, they can do better than that and the breakfast is not good have no flavor, the drinks taste like water and hot

Ease of check in and check out great, hotel is very close to train track. Train noise is significant in the back rooms. Rooms were very clean. Some damage around the room molding that needs some attention

The good: hot breakfast, great hot water and water pressure, nice staff, nice pool area and fitness center, ample well lit parking, nice TV and cable including HBO, quiet at night. The only negative is the dated decor, but it's being maintained

The whole building smelled like cigarettes. The wallpaper in the rooms are bunched and melting in spots. Had joining rooms and the paint was peeling and very dirty. Bathroom looks like they painted over mold.

Breakfast was good. Rooms were nice. This hotel has a train that come by once in a while.I like this hotel I will be return next month. This hotel has a pool I never used it but if you have kids they will love it.cooffee it better in the hotel then in the breakfast room

Thanks to Hannah who was at front desk and she was very very helpful and I was requested for early check in and they did it which was very helpful for me and I will be use best western in my any future business trip.

We stayed here December 1-6 and our stay was wonderful! Everyone was so nice and helpful and went above and beyond for us. Next time you need a place central to new Haven and surrounding cities i highly recommend this hotel!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel is slightly dated but clean and well-attended. Our room was comfortable. Breakfast was included but we didn't opt for it. The price was very reasonable. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very Family friendly for short or extended stay. You can always start your day with their complimentary buffet style breakfast.Easy acess to local towns, cities and highways. New York City is an hour and a hlf away

Been to Best Westerns before and always enjoyed them. Was looking for something close to the Yale Bowl. The search I used showed it to be 7 miles away but was disappointed when I drove 20 mins and 12 miles. It's a hike. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the heat worked well. The hotel did need some updating. I looked forward to breakfast since good breakfast was always a selling point for BW. It didn't disappoint. Good selection, good coffee, and all items were enjoyable.

Not worth $143 a night. The hotel needs a good cleaning. Common bathrooms were not clean and had brownish black gunk around the drains. The train tracks are just off the parking lot and the trains run in to the night. The bed was firm, but surprisingly comfortable.

Our shower had some mold. The wall paper in the bathroom was peeling away from the wall. The chalking around the shower was sloppy. The room had a faint odor of stale smoke. And our room was located just across the parking lot from active train tracks. In general, some updating is needed.

Pool and free breakfast with stay. Decent price. Water pressure and temperature of water was wonderful. Ability to regulate room temperature worked very well. Sheets were soft and pillows were comfy. Overall, well worth it

Every place is hurting for work, with that being said they need to get their team on the same page. Edward rocks, only book with him. Anyone else will mess up the reservation, forget trying to book a wedding block. As the bride I had to personally call in countless times to address issues with the block website, initial booking, guests rooms getting cancelled when they called to extend their stay, the list goes on.

I stayed here for my cousins wedding and the ceilings had water damage the rooms smelled musty and the front desk staff were to busy on their phones to help only one staff member was helpful when he was working.Wont be staying here again

Seen better days. Overall this hotel was acceptable but needs a facelift. Nice large property with indoor pool and workout room. Hotel is close to I 91 and plenty of restaurants close by. The staff was very nice and helpful. There were not any luggage carts available but she found us one. Will stay here again. They are dog friendly.

I stayed for 2 nights while visiting friends. My room smelled musty and there were wet spots on the carpet near the bathroom and the window. The walls are thin and I could hear people talking and kids running. The fitness center and pool areas where dirty. There were lots of boxes and trash sitting in the corridor near the side entrance of the hotel for the length of my stay.

If I were you I would stay ANYWHERE ELSE DO NOT STAY HERE. IM SERIOUS FOR YOUR SAFETY ALONE DONT STAY HERE… drug addicts running the hallways, loud noises, the owner was a Jerk 10000000%%%%%% treated me like GARBAGE because I was concerned about what was going on. These people should NOT be running a hotel… I can tell you that much… oh also rooms are FALLING apart, nasty, old, smelly, moldy. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

The maids were knocking on every door at 9:00 AM to get everyone out so they could clean even though check out time is 11:00 AM. We were double charged for our room and I was told there was no manager to help me. Overall experience was horrible and I would not recommend to stay here.

I was initially assigned to a room that was very smoky. I asked for another room. The front desk reacted promptly and gave me a better room. I was impressed with how quickly and well they resolved the issue.

Saw the pictures and decided to book for a wedding weekend. Got there and the first room was covered in stains all over the walls, floors, ceilings, etc.. turned on the AC and it made a horrible screaming sound. Requested a new room and the new room didn't seem so bad. However I was woken up at 4am by a party in the parking lot that lasted 3 hours. When I went to the bathroom at 4am there was a huge grasshopper in the bathroom so had to deal with that (I was on the 2nd floor). Then spent the rest of my stay paranoid about bugs. Also then discovered that the handle on the toilet was broken and became a plumber at 4am. The towels were all stained so I had to request new ones. The TV barely worked as there were blurry lines across most of the channels. Also there is a train behind this hotel that shook the entire hotel. Was unaware of this and the first time it happened it scared the heck out of me. None of the staircases are marked so be prepared to get lost. The hallways also smell terrible. Paid way too much for the poor quality of the hotel.

No one at front desk when trying to check in. Hallway leading to rooms carpet not clean. Bathtub/shower was full of mild and in poor shape. AC shut off and never came on all night. Breakfast was disappointing. Ice machine broken and pool was closed.

My family recently stayed at this hotel on Saturday, September 11.  We had booked by phone directly with the hotel for family event.  Through my research, the hotel received decent reviews.  While the facility was clean, we were not entirely happy. 1.  Some of our party arrived at the hotel by 11 am and wanted to try to check in (knowing that it might not be possible).  They waited in the lobby for more than 20 minutes because there was no one at the reception desk.  Once a gentleman finally arrived, they were told the rooms were not cleaned yet (which was OK). 2.  Following the family event, we arrived after 4 to check in.  (I had already received a call confirming our eventual arrival).  The two young women at the front desk were very friendly.  We were charged an additional $100 per room, which would be refunded, to cover any possible damages (for one night?  $100?)  Planning to eat the hotel-provided breakfast the next day before leaving and seeing the information on the advertised breakfast prominently displayed at reception, I confirmed the breakfast time for Sunday (7-11 am). 3.  I had booked, and received, four King rooms.  They were clean and of a good size.  The beds were not great, not horrible, just not totally comfortable.  However, the pillows provided were awful.  Each bed had four half-sized (throw-pillow-sized) pillows.  It was weird and made for neck problems the following morning.  Why couldn't the beds have normal pillows? 4.  We tried the pool, which had obviously been rented out for the children's birthday party.  For a hotel of this size, the pool was very large and deep.  We expected a heated pool but the water was incredibly cold.  The loudly exuberant children didn't help the situation.  We did not stay very long. 5.  The Hook and Ladder restaurant on the site was lovely.  Prices were fair, food was good, and the staff was very friendly. 6.  On Sunday, we proceeded to the lobby at 8 am for the hotel-provided and advertised breakfast only to be informed that the advertised breakfast was not available due to flooding a few days before.  There was coffee/muffins/apples available for pickup.  Why were we not informed of this the day before when we checked in?  Why didn't we receive some kind of discount on the room rate?  We had planned for a quick and substantial free breakfast before our 5+ hour drive home.  As it was we got a later start after eating at a nearby diner. We left the hotel feeling like we were ripped off.  We were not provided the services or facilities we expected or were promised for the fee charged.

Very dirty, dirty comforters, hallways all smell and dirty. No breakfast, fire alarm at 3:00am staff unable to shut it off. Too bad great location but horrible management. They just didn't care. Place needs to be completely remodeled. YUCK !!!

Given the chance to repeat our stay we would either have slept in the car or driven all night to get to our destination. Just an awful experience. I am a BW member and have stayed in their hotels all over the country. This was just the worst. Stay elsewhere, at least near New Haven.

The hotel was super clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I felt safe. The pool and fitness was a plus . Both awesome features. And enjoyed big screen tv in room as well . I will definitely return again!

Beds were extremely small for queen size. Manager was rude and condescending when questioned about the bed size. The manager came into the room, without wearing a mask during Covid, pulled the sheets off the bed to show the label on the mattress. Then abruptly left! After I wrote this review the next day the manager kicked my family out of the hotel, no notice no reason other than he didn't like my review. He said if we would leave he would refund our previous nights stay. He lied and did not refund my credit card. The good thing after hearing our story the Blake Hotel in downtown CT offered us rooms for the same cost as BW Plus.

Everyone was very pleasant and helped anytime we needed them. They informed when breakfast was ready and even helped us find good places to dine in. The workers knew great information about the area and shared it so our vist was full of adventure.

The hotel was suppose to be smoke free but the hallways smelled like marijuana. We had to change rooms because of a strange odor. The staff said they would try to take care of the smoking but nothing changed our entire stay.

Best Wester North Haven , CT is one the nest hotels I've been too. The staff and leadership here is phenomenal. I have had my social interactions with almost all staff here beyond the front desk and everyone is always willing to accommodate and make your stay the best. BW has a permanent customer. Thank you Tohit, Alassandra, Julia and all other staff for make me and my family feel at home!

Hoping they update to make the hotel more user-friendly for next trip. Laundry area was filthy, rooms were so-so. Had to put microwave on the floor to use it as cord was so short. A/C blows on you entire time at desk trying to work. Some of side entrances full of bins of trash and dirty dishes. Did not understand that.

It was very comfortable the breakfast is appreciated . we always were able to get fresh towels during our stay, lots of close restaurants and its easy access to the highway, it was quiet at night and very comfortable

Decided to do a quick mini vacation for my sons on the 4th of July since everything got cancelled due to rainy weather, was very disappointed when we checked into our room it wasn't clean as far as being wiped down especially the bathroom instead of complaining I always just bring my own cleaning wipes ,thankfully. Then there was the pool overcrowded and freezing so cold we didn't get in ,my little one lasted all of 20 mins in it ,quick couple hundred to sleep in a different bed. I did mention it to the staff but not sure they heard me. The breakfast was very good though . Overall the cleanliness of this hotel was not that great.

Military officer ,used to travel- Breakfast here in North Haven exceptional. The staff break room located across from my room meant every day for 4 days the aroma of POT ,if not actual smoke in the hallway was OVER WHELMING

Very nice hotel with a lot of amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful. A good variety of food for breakfast. Did not like the fact I had to leave a $100.00 security deposit for a two night stay. That was a first and kind of scary.

Some rust in shower. Noisy bathroom fan. Loud kids running in hallway in late evening. But hotel was convenient to where we were going and it wasn't a s—thole like the Clarion down the street. Nice TV, although there was no “guide” channel that I could find or a handy listing of the channels available.

A recent stay at the Best Western Plus North Haven was extremely disappointing. The cleanliness of the hotel has degraded tremendously since our last time staying here. The interior of the hotel had not been obviously cleaned and there was trash accumulated in the parking lot and grounds around the outside of the hotel. We felt really distressed and grossed out staying at this facility and will never stay here again.

The smell of cigarettes and weed is overwhelming in the hallways and in our room. Disgusting. We were in town for a college visit. I checked the reviews first, and I guess people like the disgusting odor of cigarettes. I know we won't be back.

My stay there for one night was horrible the pool was cloudy with to much chlorine in it the owner was very rude to me and my kids the owner opened my room door without knocking , I had to go get my own towels and wash cloths from the front desk .the staff did not give me all the information I needed so I would know what I can and can not do which led to me getting harassed by the owner

We had a very nice visit. Although we only stayed one night, it "checked all the boxes" for what we were looking for: a nice, clean, safe, modern place to stay. It had a full American breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausages and potatoes as well as choices for other things to eat.

The place is clean always and the pool is everything definitely staying there again. The breakfast the next morning was one of the best continetal breakfasts i ever tasted. Keep up the good work because you guys are really doing great.

My family booked two rooms at this “hotel” a couple of months ago and the reviews were mixed, but the price won us over. I guess we got what we paid for! During checkin, there was a man yelling profanity at the front desk attendant due to dirty sheets and some questionable “evening activities” happening next to his room. I could not verify either issue, but I'm glad our kids were in the car and did not have to hear this. We finally checked in and got our rooms. There was one small elevator and was pretty slow. The hotel is in dire need of a renovation and there was a bit of a musty smell in the hallway. The moment we opened our door, there was a heavy cigarette smoke odor with the smell of cleaners used to try to clean the room. I wish we would have asked for a different room, but I figured this was just how the hotel was. Fortunately, the second room we booked did not have this issue after visiting the next morning. We settled in and got our kids to bed. Around 1:30am, the people in the room next to us let their kids go wild jumping off their beds, laughing and yelling, plus the adults were talking extremely loud and sometimes yelling. It lasted about an hour before the noise stopped. I would have called, but my mother-in-law in the other room said nobody answered the phone when she called for a missing remote in her room. The next morning, we stopped down for the breakfast. It wasn't very good and we opted to go to a diner down the road the next two mornings. The other room we booked backed up to a commuter rail line and my mother-in-law could hear all of the trains running. During our last night, kids were playing catch in the hallway, running up and down the halls, and being noisy again. There was a lot of noise in the room next to us yet again, but at 12:30am this time. When we arrived back home, we had to wash everything due to a heavy cigarette smoke smell on our clothing. I did mention the issues with the front desk when we checked out and they apologized, but said nothing else. The only highlights were the beds were comfortable and there was good water pressure. When we return to the area for our next visit, we will gladly pay more money to stay somewhere else. I would suggest you do the same!!

Bad bad situation here. The hotel needs to be shut down. We are dealing with police and the town. This place will get someone sick or killed. Be careful with your family in there. Manager was on drugs he couldn't even help you if you needed it. Just be careful in there. It's a prostitution housing hotel and the amount of drugs and weed in there is amazing. My 9 year old kids knew what was going on. What an incredibly awful experience oh my god. The filth was incredible. Never seen so many people complaining at front desk and a manger basically tells you to scram

We stopped off for the night while traveling through the New England states for family vacation! We found this hotel to be clean, and staff to be very friendly. The breakfast was fantastic! Thank you, Best Western Plus New Haven!

Awful. Rooms are beyond worn. No very clean. No staff. We did not have our room cleaned, towels picked up or trash emptied. Left a message for the manager to call me. Still waiting. Called on our way down to let them know our daughter would arrive before us. Hung on the phone for 20 minutes. housekeeping leaves at 4.

Nice hotel I'm here for work. See looks like AAU teams here playing in a indoor pool bring back a lot of memories when my kids was younger but the pool was outside not in a control environment. Staff on point need something call and you got it! The manager is a cool guy he knows his customers and even have special nights for the guest and the coffee is great lol!

The computer system for the BW failed, and check-in, internet, TV usage was an issue. the issues were initial and the front desk agent was helpful, but she could only do so much without the computer system to help her.

Clean comfortable cost-effective and convenient. This was our second stay at this hotel and it was just as great as the last one. My only complaint is that I believe they are very short staffed and workers are overwhelmed keeping up with the demands of the people staying at the hotel!! Every employee we came across was nice. We will be back later this year.

Every time I book here its an issue. Last time. I was locked out my room none of the key cards worked and staff key fobs wouldnt work. It was summer all I had was my shirt n pajamas pants. My phone, wallet, Everything locked in the room Management wouldnt answer the phone and the general manager caught an attitude with me. This time the secretly closed the pool. Kept telling everyone it was open. We go to get in the doors are locked. Front desk says it should be open. We explained we booked last night and the pool was closed because of a drunk patron. Now your telling me from 7pm last night to 7pm tonight nobody cleaned or treated the pool. He basically said since it takes 3 hours to treat the pool and nobody felt like doing it. I go to get a refund and was told I had to exit the premises as if im getting kicked out and had them threaten to call police because I requested my refund. I never threatened, caused harm or incited violence but I guess being a dark skin black male in 2021 its easy for them to threaten you with police for no reason yes I was angry and my voice was elevated but never did I do or say anything to warrant that threat.

The place was nice enough for the money- just regular hotel nothing special. Honestly we didn't use any of the amenities that would have made it worthwhile, because of the hordes of unmasked uncontrolled children, teens, and adults using this as a party central during a pandemic. It felt incredibly out of control and unsafe. Many parties, we didn't sleep from the loud folks next door to us which you could hear everything they said. It was an eye opening experience as to why we are not closer to being out of this pandemic. Awful. The staff was nice but overhwhelmed and could not possibly control these numbers of people.

Very convenient for my needs with the interstate nearby. Always clean and with many amenities. The on site restaurant was safe to enjoy (spacing for pandemic) and the food was good. The staff was very courteous and always ready to answer my needs.

The rooms had a funny smell more like it wasnt cleaned properly. The pool water was very dirty. I had complaint but nothing was done, the pool area was very cold i had also complaint n nothing was done. The breakfast was great! I will never recommend this place to anyone its a waste of money.

The worst hotel ever! 1) Kids running the halls until 2:30 a.m. sSaff would do nothing so I finally had to call the police. Staff told me after two complaints the guest would be asked to leave yet this did not happen and I could not change my room dur to this., 2) It's a non smoking facility yet staff and guests stand in the entry ways smoking 3) My room had no heat/AC - a thin blanket was thrown into my room the first night, not fixed the next day and finally, at 6 p.m. the seocnd night, I was able to change rooms. 4) Staff is overwhlemed and completekly innefective in handling issues.

Will never book a room at this establishment. The room reeked of marijuana smell. I had young children and they refused to accommodate our request for a different room. Their solution: bottle of Fabreze.

Having previously worked at a Best Western Plus, I had decent expectations for this hotel. Unfortunately, these expectations were not met as the cleanliness of the hallways and elevator were severely lacking. The hallways had not seen a vacuum in at least a week and there was a general odor of old cigarette/marijuana smoke when you stepped out of the room. Generally the room was okay, with a couple of hairs on one of the beds and on the toilet. It didn't meet my expectations because it held the Best Western Plus branding. However, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was standard. The value was decent, as long as you know what you're getting for the price.

I have never written a review so terrible and I have written hundreds of reviews. Let me summarize my experience: 1. Mold on the tile in the shower. 2. Towels feel like sandpaper 3. Shower fixtures in room 181 falling off the wall..so loose 4. Terrible "free" breakfast. Cold, eggs made with powder, cranberry juice emplty, OJ tastes like flavored water 5. Holes in the restaurant ceiling all over and big leaks Besides that, when you call you get a third party reservations company that charges you 20 dollars more than the regular rate!! One high spot was the evening front desk clerk (young man) who was very nice and helpful. He worked on Saturday night Feb 6th. This place needs so much renovation it might be better to tear it down and start over.

Stayed here only because of location in North Haven. I was a guest during its last renovation. Finishes are newer but hotel is still a dive. Hallways were dirty and smell like pot. Rooms are small and showing wear and tear. Shower leaked water all over bathroom floor; mildew/mold in corners of tub and floor. Hallway vending out of service. There is a single elevator for the facility; if you have a second floor room, check the proximity or be prepared to walk a mile.

Everything is visibly old, dirty, stained, damaged throughout. Debris in the conference room remained un-vacuumed >2 months in a row. The showerhead was coated in mold. Hallways and room smelled of pot smoke and spilt beer. A large party in one of the suites, with drinking, music, and pot smoke, spilled out into the hallway, raged all night in spite of multiple guests in surrounding rooms calling guest services.

We use this hotel, a couple of times a year, when visiting our daughter, who attends the Netter School of Medicine in North Haven CT. The hotel is 2 miles from the school and her apartment. So, location is great. Hotel is reasonably priced, staff is attentive and pleasant, and beds are comfortable. Perhaps its due to COVID, but maintenance was not stellar. Quite a bit of trash in the parking lot, a wee bit of peeling paint, and traces of sparkly green nail polish on the furniture. It's perfectly adequate for our needs, but perhaps not for a fussier client.

I enjoyed my stay as well as my son. The bed was very comfortable. I am definitely returning. This first time was for business (recently hired by Amazon) and we stayed for 24 hours in order for me to get my paperwork completed for my new job.

There were bottle caps from some previous occupants on the floor that housekeeping never bothered to pick up. The gnats flying in the room were terrible. Bedding and hallways smelled of smoke. Hallway and elevator dirty. Was looking out a hallway window and there were bugs and dirt as if it hadn't been cleaned in years!! Stayed here previously a few years back and had no problem. This time couldn't wait to leave. A lot of the dirtiness in hallways and elevator is obviously the clientele!

Had no choice but to stop here due to roadside emergency. This was the closest hotel, and since it was a Best Western, I felt it was a trusted name. There was no time to research reviews. The lobby was quite nice, and the desk manager courteous and professional. It wasn't until we drove our car around to the other side of the building which had the "best direct access" to our room that the hair stood up on my neck. If we had any other choice at that point, I would have run. The parking lot was FULL of old furniture and carpeting that had clearly been ripped out of the hotel. There were people hanging all around outside smoking. The outside door was propped open, and as soon as we walked in, the SMELL was PUTRID! Best way to describe it is heavy perfumed aerosol attempting to cover the smell of mold and 20 year old smoke infested upholstery (this was supposedly all smoke free rooms LIE)! The carpeting and stairwells look like they hadn't been vacuumed EVER, there was garbage in the stairwells (empty cigarette pkgs, cups, straws, food wrappers). This was all before we got to our room. The room smelled just as bad, everything had a fine layer of dust on it. Again, rug not vacuumed in years, layered with dirt. Found clothing from prior guests behind nightstand. Bathroom looked like it was out of Psycho, tub didn't drain. Window overlooked a courtyard where it was like the hood - people hanging out in their underwear smoking pot. Seriously had no other choice given our predicament. We just needed to make it to 7am. We slept on top of the covers, in our clothes, used our own pillows which we tossed when we left. We didn't even shower the next morning. We were up and ran as fast as we could. The last sight we had was a filthy pair of ladies panties on the ground near our car. It was the most unreal experience, felt like I was in a bad movie! I cannot believe this place is open at ALL but ESPECIALLY during a pandemic! I'm SHOCKED we didn't contract some disease in our short time there. May seem dramatic, but I'm telling you, that's how it felt!

I have stayed at other locations that are very nice, like New Haven. This hotel had multiple locations where the smell of pot was overwhelming. The rooms look a little worn. The Restaurant attached is great and the breakfast was wonderful. The food was good, hot and offered a nice variety.

We went up for a wedding, the bridal party arrange a block of rooms at a reasonable rate Clean room Easy highway access The place offered a free breakfast buffet eggs bacon sausage potatoes waffles oatmeal and more They had two servers to keep within pandemic protocols. We have stayed here a few times over the last 5 years because of the location near family, and have seen it decline. We will not stay again until it is remodeled. It is beyond what a thorough cleaning can do. I would not sit on the worn sofa. The carpet had large areas of stain. There is not enough counter space in the bathroom, and the shower/tub fixtures were wobbly and loose. So was the toilet seat. There were areas of black tile grout. Everything was just “grubby”. I know there were 2 or more large groups there at the same time as we were, but the outside trash cans were overflowing and trash was scattered around the grounds. The train passes nearby, but that does not bother us. I will say that the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. And I was comfortable with the bedding and towels.

The room was nice and clean and breakfast was really good but the hotel overall was dirty and nasty. The elevator was never cleaned, it smelled and the floor was always dirty. The hallways were dirty with people garbage and dirty clothes all in it. The staircase was dirty as well with candy wrappers, opened and finished chip bags all in it and dirty tissue everywhere. The garbage outside of the hotel near A was very nasty with garbage everywhere. It's like people that stays in this place has no home training and don't clean up after themselves. Also , there were only a few people wearing masks. I came from New York with my sister and her 3 kids and we wasn't really satisfied with our stay because of the uncleanliness. This hotel should be clean at all times just like how the rooms are.

Whoa, isn't there a pandemic going on? This hotel was downright crowded with folks, most of whom did not wear masks and who seemed perfectly fine coming within 6 feet. The noise (talking, TV, music, video games) continued late into the night and started early in the morning. Kudos to the woman at the desk, who remained positive through our many complaints. I think she did what she could, but her management has set her up for failure. I can't believe how irresponsibly this place was being operated.

I had the worst experience at this hotel and did not even stay. First I was in line to check in with my reservation and there were only 5 people in front of me and 2 of them were already experiencing problems (should have listened to my gut and left right then) but I stayed in line for like 45 minutes, got my room key went outside to get my husband, 2 year old son, and dog who have been restlessly waiting for me outside just to find out the room key wasn't working. Already super aggravated and having a bored crying toddler I went back to the front desk to fix it and there was absolute chaos, people swearing and screaming, a million people in the lobby and the poor girl at the front desk was all alone to deal with the ridiculous amount of rudeness and ignorance. At this point my family and I just left and I waited a few hours to call(around 8-9pm) because it was so hectic and I was put on hold. After almost an hour on hold I hung up and tried calling back 3-4 times during the night at all hours and no one ever answered the phone. Finally at 8am the next morning someone answered and is supposed to cancel it and send me my money back so we will see on that.

The stay was good. Location is close to highway. Dinning location very close. Hotel has a good bar/ restaurant on location. No need to drink and drive. Pool was pretty awesome. The front desk girls were awesome

I am a traveling Nurse on contract, looking for a hotel location closer to my job and stumbled upon this one. I was happy with the nightly rate and the location cut my travel time down. Check in was speedy and front desk clerks were very professional and sweet but when I got to my room it seemed pretty cramped. I had no microwave which they offer for room amenities and I had no hot water. I also noticed a noise that sounded like someone was banging on a drum and was told by the night clerk she would resolve it but unfortunately I listened to that through the whole night into the next day. My room was near a train track and the trains that went by did not nearly bother me as much as this noise did. I was offered a different room but the housekeepers had not cleaned rooms so there were none available at the time. The hotel environment is definitely not appealing to the eye nor are the rooms as they are very outdated. Good luck trying to wash your clothes after working with covid patients all day because the washer/dryer is never available nor do they have change for you to use these coin operated machines. After one night id had enough and really felt as if the night should have been free. Ultimately for $2 more I took my business elsewhere.

From booking to checkout, the entire experience was phenomenal. The front desk staff was incredible specifically Courtney. She made my stay super fantastic, and explained the health policy including cleaning procedures during the pandemic, which was really reassuring.

During my recent stay at the Best Western Plus North Haven Hotel, we had issues with our shower and toilet. It was late into the evening when we noticed an issue with the shower (when it was recommended that we change rooms). We were told it was going to be fixed the next day but that wasn't the case. The following day we noticed that the toilet was leaking. We had to leave a towel in front to use it. We were leaving the next day so didn't bother to change rooms although we reported it. Ribs at Harry's Restaurant was mediocre. Didn't like that they ownly offered chocolate ice cream with their brownie dessert because that's the owner's favorite ice cream.

Staff were super friendly and room was nice and clean. Very good size. We reserved a room on the ground floor with a pool view. Got 2nd floor with a brick wall view. Minus one star for not giving us what was promised. VERY noisy. They can't do anything about the loud customers but rooms were not sound proof at all. Anyone in the hall was loud. In the adjoining room we could clearly hear the conversion. Not a murmuring but the actual words. Maybe because there was a connecting door but just too loud to get a good night's sleep. Also side door was supposed to be activated by key card only but could open without. Not really secure. Would not recommend staying here.

We always stay here when we come to visit our family in New Haven. The facility is clean, comfortable, and has everything my family needs. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the pool is nice, and the restaurant is fine.

I've stayed here a couple of times as it's the closest hotel to where I have occasional business meetings. Basically 3 minute drive. The hotel is your typical budget priced venue. The staff is very nice and helpful. The one area I wish they would improve is in the food service. It would be nice to not have to leave the property to get a good meal. Last time the bar/restaurant had nothing available and the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired.

Stayed one night for college visit. 12 min drive to Yale. Hotel need some update but overall in good shape. It's clean and safe which are the most important things to me. There's a Bob Evans next door. CVS and Starbucks a few minutes away. Breakfast is good. Checkin checkout was very easy and convenient. I notice it was very close to the highway, so I asked for a room that is facing back. front desk staff was nice.

Front desk staff very good, friendly , quick and professional. Rooms however .... bathtub/shower filled up while showering & took an hour to drain , sink was almost as slow to drain and toilet wasn't steady . Carpeting throughout hotel and rm114 needs to be professionally cleaned a few times. Hotel also needs new double or triple layer windows in the rear of the hotel that faces the Amtrak & CT Rail train tracks that you can hear clearly every 20-25 mins going north or south. Limited restaurants around this hotel mostly fast food chain crap. Plus side there was a independent bar in the hotel.

Basic lower-budget motel. Clean enough, price was right. Breakfast was the similar waffles, fruit, yogurt, eggs, sausage, etc. People were very friendly. Conveniently located off the interstate. No issues.

The front desk staff and amazing as is management. Rooms are always clean and maid staff is ready for all needs. The pool is great and the fitness center. Check out the restaurant and watch all your sporting events. A+

Excellent service. Friendly staff. We have an excellent dinner in the bar area. The bartenders were attentive, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained. We have stayed in this hotel every time we visit New Haven.

My stay was great, first time staying there for 3 nights, lobby was clean and smelling fresh, my room was very very clean with NO ODOR, NO hair in the bathroom, bed was comfortable, hallway was clean and fresh, breakfast was ok... staff was very pleasant and helpful, YES I would stay there again, THANKS FOR MAKING MY STAY GREAT.

This is a hotel where I stay fairly frequently due to proximity to my daughters college, affordability, and excellent customer service. It has more than basic amenities for a very reasonable price. The rooms are clean and have everything you need Although the menu is limited, having a restaurant/pub on premises is very convenient for nights you just don't want to go out. The pool is a plus. Customer service has always been excellent here.

Found 2 crack pipes in between couch cushion and arm of couch. Told front desk supervisor, she sent maintenance guy to look at it. They told me manager would call me, he never did. I called back again and was told, manager just stepped out but he would call. Still waiting for the call.

. Forgot my camera and gps after checkout during xmas week stay.no one claims to have seen them or turned them in to lost and found.and the hotel claims no liability.so maybe they need to lecture their employees about the benefits of honesty.

I had a chance to take advantage of a free night voucher, and as we were visiting family this seemed like a good option. The hotel is well situated, there is a Starbucks across the street and it's right next to I-91. Where they fell down was in two areas. The first is the lack of hot water for a shower, I understand that on a Sunday morning especially with a reduced number of guests it could take a few minutes for the hot water to kick in, in this case, I ran it for ten minutes and it never got beyond lukewarm. That's a huge waste of water. Also, take a look at their back parking lot on Google. You'll notice that it provides unrestricted access to a high-speed train line used by both Amtrak and CT Rail. Trains travel through that area at 50-60 MPH, and any child or animal that wandered off could be badly injured or killed. The lack of fencing or other barriers to prevent this is concerning. Caveat emptor!

My stay with 92 year old mom and 2 dogs went quite well. Breakfast included with our stay was a plus. Very friendly staff. The room was clean, no issues. Room 101 worked out well with the 2 dogs, away from other parties staying there. First time staying there.

Let me start by saying if this is a Plus hotel, I shudder to picture what a regular hotel would be like. The lobby area is neat and clean, the front desk clerk was professional and the hotel is easy to find. Those would qualify as the highlights. We needed a cot, had arranged (or so we thought) to have one in the room upon arrival. It was not there. When we returned from dinner, it was outside the room, not inside. The mattress on the cot was super thin and the "support" on the cot would barely support a 40 pound person, never mind a grown adult. The oddest thing was the fact that the majority of electrical outlets did not work properly. When something was plugged into them, it would fall out or it wouldn't consistently send electricity (my cell phone continuously cycled on and off while plugged in). Then the clerk who had prepared the bill had neglected to deduct the gift card that had been presented at check in, requiring that we wait while that was resolved.

This hotel has changed hands over the years and is now in desperate need of an update. We walked into a room that was 50 or so degrees because the seals around the windows had failed. Place needs work. Oh btw train tracks right behind the hotel!!

Room was great, Breakfast is the best. Even real plates and silverware. Hotel was full but very quiet. Indoor pool was clean and indoors. Front desk people were great. Highway is close. We come to this hotel every two years for a family party near the hotel.

Seriously, if you can stand the Connecticut nightmare highways, it's not a bad place to crash. The hot breakfast is substantial - something for everyone. Just not enough salt shakers, but we all shared. That was nice. Someday maybe I'll figure out how to use the wi-fi. I ended up using my cell phone anyway.

I only spent 15 hours at this hotel but it gets the 5 star rating. The lobby is small but nice. Courtney had me checked in within 5 mins,not exaggerating. Her hospitality was off the charts. Even as I walked through the lobby to get to the restaurant she said hello. The restaurant is the reason I picked this hotel. I wanted a place w a bar and food. Megan the bartender was great. There were 4 people when I got there and I was a single patron so she chatted me up and was totally cool. Then it got busy and she was the sole waitress and also filling drinks at the bar. She never got flustered and just got it all done w what looked like total ease and w a smile to everyone the entire time. She did have help at times from Brian who took my order and got it exactly right and made sure I had my extra condiments. He also did everything w a smile. The food was good. They give you approx. 8-10 crispy mozz sticks for $8 or so bucks. That's good. Large order of boneless wings $14 but you get a bunch and they are above average quality. Blue cheese very good Ranch a tad watery. I asked for mild and they were hot IMO. The burger was decent. I eat a lot of burgers so I wouldn't rank it as delicious but it was good. The only complaint about the room was that it was right across from the housekeeping room so around 8am there was a lot of noise. Unless you are a very deep sleeper it will wake you up. Also this room was far from the elevator. The room was 246. The king bed was very comfortable and the multiple pillows were great as well. Night stand on each side. The window opened which I loved cause I love fresh air. The view is a bench and Arbys in the distance. You can park your car and see it from the window. You get 3 HBO and 3 Cinemax channels which I thought was a lot. ESPN DISNEY and weather too. I couldn't figure out how to watch movies and not totally sure you even could. There's a chart w all the channels that I had to hae because I didn't see a digital guide. There's a mini fridge and a microwave. Free coffee. Ice bucket and cups in the room. Ice and vending machine is super close to room but I was not bothered by noise from it. Bathroom was normal. Spotless. On the small side. Bathroom has a fan and low end hair dryer. Very small containers of shampoo conditioner and soap. Lots of towels and wash cloths. Towels and WC were standard good quality. There's 2 USB charging ports. Multiple regular ports to plug stuff in. The desk is good too. I was here in Decemeber so the heating system was fine. There's a closet w hangers an ironing board and iron. There is one of those thing you put your luggage on when unpacking. I will stay here again when I visit Waterbury.

Awesome in every way possible!!!! The Breakfast Buffet is OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! My sister and I were disappointed that we couldn't enjoy it this time around during the week Breakfast starts at 6am and we had to be at work at 6am.

As usual everything was perfect. Michelle made sure I had everything I needed including calling me to let me know that my friend had arrived and was waiting for me in the lobby. Erin (Lounge) was awesome. Did not have to wait for anything, she was right on top. Service was excellent.

Michelle first greeted me at check-in, she was warm, bubbly and ensured I was comfortable for my 1 night stay. The room was spotless and smelled great! Wonderful bathroom amenities! In the bar later that evening, Erin took care of our table, she was extremely friendly and provided great prompt service. We even had an interaction with Rohit the property GM to ensure all was well. Will definitely return!!! Thank you all for making it a great stay.

The Hotel is average, you get for what you paid once is cheap. However, it could use some serious renovations. We had an issue one night with our next door neighboors, they were actually not doing a lot of noise, just talking loudly and excited, but we could hear simply everything and it was hard to get to sleep. The walls are so thin you could even here their alarm clock going off. Also there were leaking/drip in the breakfast room. Such a pity because the staff is very friendly and deserve 5 stars.

Conveniently located just off the highway and close to several restaurants, this Best Western Plus is comfortable, even though it's a little bit frayed around the edges. On the positive side: The bed was very comfy, wifi worked perfectly, fridge and microwave were good, and all staff members were pleasant. Breakfast in the attached sports grill was more than ample. Best feature of all: The swimming pool was the warmest, deepest, and cleanest pool we've seen anywhere in a very long time. As a bonus, there are shower rooms adjoining the pool area. I think we'd go back to this property just for that pool. On the negative side: Our room could use an update, a plumbing tune-up, and better lighting. At $123 a night, this was a good value.

I have stayed here a numb er of times because my experience was always excellent..great room on site restaurant and additional local dinner places...attentive staff easy parking. lobby coffee and water

The staff was friendly. The breakfast wasn't well prepared and choices were lacking. Shower water pressure was practically non-existent. Nearby trains ran loudly all night. Overall, it was below expectations given the price.

After driving 3000 miles and many mornings in breakfast bars, this is the best I've found. Zee and her staff are great! The food is consistently good. My room is always clean and well made by a pleasant housekeeping staff. Harry's Sports Bar has excellent food. Every meal I've had for three weeks has been delicious. Brian and Erin are attentive and sincerely concerned with the pleasure of their guests. The front desk staff feel like welcoming family. Nebby, Navi, Michelle and all the rest have been fantastic.

The property is very clean and extremely large. The rooms were very clean and very roomy. Although it was tight, we still liked the fact that the room had a table to eat at. The furniture is a little outdated but still in very good condition. Definitely do not have a problem booking this hotel again in the future.

The hotel stay was nice. It was 3 people in a one bedroom two Queen beds. There are train tracks behind the hotel but they didn't really bother any of us. The only negative I would say about the hotel is the price of the room was a lot compared to what you get in it. The only extra ammenity in the room was a fridge. Would stay again if cheaper. Nice and clean and staff was friendly.

This hotel is located next to the interstate and it makes my visits to New Haven, Hamden, Wallingford and more very easy. Rooms are always clean and the amenities are terrific . You certainly get value for the rate you are paying.

Nice hotel for our trip to see Quinnipiac. Conveniently located off highway, clean, good service and very friendly staff. Breakfast was good, and a very good selection. The bar/restaurant Harry's was great to watch the baseball playoffs. Very well priced.

I had stayed in this hotel for 8 nights. I was solo, on a business trip. I paid the bill using my card which was about 1300 dollars. To my surprise, the hotel had charged my card excess amount of 1270 dollars. I found it very difficult to talk to the manager on phone, she was always away. When I did talk to her, she informed me that I have been charged for another room. How can this be?

overall good value great staff including maid service. only 1 small issue was the bathroom had recently remodeled and the shower had a leak that flooded the bathroom floor. but was really a nonissue as understand remodeling and having to rely on outside contractors

This place was good. The staff especially the check in staff were extremely friendly. My room was clean, everything worked and the shower was hot with good pressure. Breakfast was pretty decent as well.

From the moment I walked in the door my family and I received exceptional service. I feel the front desk clerk Nahveh went above and beyond to accommodate and assist us. Whatever we needed she made it possible and with quick fast service. The room was very accommodating to my husband being a smoker. Even though the rooms were non smoking, we had a sliding door that left him right outside so he didnt have to walk amongst a strange land. The rooms were suitable but the beds were full and not queen but do able. The hot breakfast was exceptional for a northern state. And Kid friendly being that I had FOUR. THANK YOU BEST WESTETN FOR AN ENJOYABLE STAY. SEE YOU AGAIN.

I'll keep this brief. I booked 2 queen beds here and ended up with 2 double beds in a completely booked hotel. When I went to check out the room to see if it still might work for 2 adults and 2 kids, it smelled beyond musty in there. I explained both of these problems to the person on the desk, she told me that she couldn't give me a refund and there was no manager on duty for another 2 days. I didn't stay there. I can't recommend this in any way.

The hotel was clean, friendly, well staffed and our room was lovely. I was traveling with dogs and everyone made us feel welcome. We went out the back to do out business but some workers told us there is a court yard. We were welcome in the court yard and there were poop bags! Our room was on the side of the train tracks, but it wasn't so bad. A really nice breakfast buffet with a lot of choices, but nothing gluten free :( I think it was a great value for the price. I will definitely stay there again.

We have stayed here 6 times, and it has always been OK, this time it was dirty, Smelly, unclean. We could smell smoke. We entered the room and it was not good at all there were flies in the bathroom. We left in about 2 minutes. The night desk manager could care less. Never to return.

After having stayed in numerous Best westerns, this has got to be the worst establishment I have ever stayed. The pictures on its website have been completely photoshopped. Is is run by a so called general manager who does not have the common decency to call back his guests when there was an issue. It does not have enough towels for the amount of rooms it has, so getting spare towels was always an adventures. I cannot say I will never stay at another best Western, but after this one, I will try my hardest to avoid them.

I needed a place to stay until the closing of our house. With 2 dogs and little time. The management was able to set me up with the dates I needed. During my time I was treated with amazing service. The front desk answered all my questions and went beyond there duty to make a stressful time enjoyable. The AC unit went down on one of the hottest days and John with maintenance had a new unit installed in less then hour. The breakfast was hot and fruit was fresh. Choices were very acceptable. The restaurant inside(Harry's) was clean and the staff very friendly. The food was good and the service. The spinach and artichoke dip was very good. The pool and fitness area were clean. The maid service was great. They gave me towels, trash bags etc when asked. If you have dogs please be respectful and clean after them. But I would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay.

I cannot say much that is negative about my stay. My room had most necessities- a comfortable chair, refrigerator, great bed, beautifully clean bathroom and a huge BREAKFAST included in the price. The only thing that I would add would be a safe.I loved the lobby and the unlimited coffee was a plus for me. There was a nice, big table for customers to use to do work. The restaurant is a sports bar that has about 20 television screens.

This Best Western has the best breakfast, bar none on the east coast! We enjoyed the accommodations from the room to the amenities, the pool, parking, access to route I-91 BUT I could not wait for the breakfast. These breakfasts are not your typical "breakfast included" stays. There should be another class to identify the type of free breakfast that is offered at the location!! If you enjoy eating in the morning, I mean REALLY eating, this one is for you.

A great room, cool bar and friendly staff, The North Haven Best Western is only 15 minutes from New Haven and very affordable. Breakfast is included and its really good. Next time, I'll take a dunk in the indoor pool.

I have stayed in hotels around the world and have never been insulted and treated in as unprofessional a manner by the night clerk, Daniel, as I was on May 28 at this hotel. The episode was triggered by my needing to get in touch with the front desk, and after not being able to get through by phone, walking down to the front desk to find no one there. I waited for a while and when Daniel finally appeared, he responded unacceptably to my complaint of not being to contact anyone in a timely manner. What was most telling was that when I said I'd report his behavior to management, his response was to the effect of 'let's see what that will do'. First, for a hotel this size, I was surprised that there appeared to be only one person covering the night shift. Second, it appears that Daniel has been allowed to believe that he can treat hotel guests in an unacceptable manner and not be held accountable. I hope that this will be addressed. My interaction with manager Michelle, was professional. My interaction with all other staff was great...especially the breakfast staff and the day staff at the front desk.

The hotel had all the basics I was looking for: a clean and comfortable room, wifi, a restaurant/bar, free breakfast, pool, and exercise facilities, and convenient to my daughter's college. The staff was friendly, particularly in Harry's Bar and Grille.Though the hotel is on a busy road, it has a beautiful enclosed courtyard with an abundance of plants and trees. The place was clean, but there were a few maintainence issues that could have used some attention. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars. I do plan on returning.

Arrived late at night to my reserved Non Smoking Room only to find an awful strong Stale Cigarette Smoke smell in the room. Figured we could adjust to it and get some sleep but soon thereafter Cigarette Smoke began coming into the room through the A/C ventilation unit. Looking out the window I saw people smoking right next to the rear entrance door in front of our room A/C unit which drew in the smoke. Made for an awful night until the Train Blew by shaking the building and blowing the damn whistle around 3 am. Daylight revealed train tracks within 50' of the building. Should have been advised of the potential train traffic and the Hotel should not allow smoking within 50' of the Building. Response from the Management was sorry we did not exceed my expectations....Pathetic response ! For $190.00 a night they can keep it. Best Western Hotels...never again.

This Best Western is where I stay every year when I come to the area for summer study at Yale. It is clean, comfortable, convenient to the major highways, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a complimentary hot breakfast; the food is good and there is some variety. I went to a few different hotels over the years until I found this one.

Great shower! Could have stayed all day! Really nice indoor pool, and very roomy rooms. Mattress wasn't the best, woke up with a little back ache. Very nice breakfast, a little different than the usual BW breakfasts. Yummy red seasoned potatoes. Wish we had the time to sit at the bar and eat some of the pub food, looks fun! Overall, a great stay!

Overall a great experience except the frequent tv freezing. Next time I'll call to see what room has that shower/tub that it is displayed in the picture on booking.com. it fits the layout of the room so perfectly.

This location may have the friendliest people anywhere. Everywhere I went, the employees made a point of saying hello and wishing me a good stay. Without exception, every employee made eye contact, creating a positive, welcoming experience !!! Extremely satisfying !!!

We had a buffet dinner function there with 200 people. The only good thing I can say is the food wasn't bad. However there was not enough staff for the amount of people we had. Dishes were not cleared, water pitchers not refilled and most of all there was not enough food. They ran out of the beef so the people who were at the end didn't get any. There was also no offering to bring out more. The response was “we ran out”. This is no way to run an event.

I was in town for business and stayed here, it was ok. My bed was comfortable and the pillows too which is the most important. The one thing I would caution travelers is to ask for a room in the front of the building. I had a room with the back parking lot outside my window and around 5:30 am you have loud trucks backing up making a loud beeping sound and people outside laughing and talking so if you are trying to sleep in you don't want a room back here.

Friendly staff, guest rooms very comfortable and clean. Spacious and definitely guest friendly, Breakfast was delicious and again all staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely book a stay here again when I am in the area.

The buffet at our dinner dance was excellent. The free hot breakfast was SUPER-excellent. I also appreciated the fact that the cleaning staff respected my “Do Not Disturb” sign. The women tending bar when I was in there - it was Kentucky Derby Day, so it was a little crazy - were warm and helpful - changed one of the TVs to CNN for me - and my Margaritas were good.

We were very happy with this place. location to my family, cost, pool, workout room, restaurant, staff. we made the mistake of staying at another place for less money. turns out it was not less money, didnt get anything we were promised and the place was an armpit. after 2 nights we said forget this and came to the BW. great choice!

We held an event at BW and I organized everything with their sales rep Emily who was beyond amazing! The staff was efficient in everything that they did, the rooms were set up perfectly for our event, their reaction times on anything that was needed was fast and accurate. The food was great and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Emily and her staff were the best of the best and I will use them again!

Hotel was much bigger than expected- holding two wedding and near a dance convention. Welcoming staff but knew very little about the area- answer was always "use google". Room was clean, spacious for 3, plenty of towels and extra blankets. Housekeeping was happy to provide more toiletries. Bar was packed and understaffed. Breakfast buffet was in the restaurant/bar area and was very lacking - cold food was warm & warm food was cold. Understaffed.

I often choose Best Western when I travel because it is usually affordable and amenities are consistent from location to location. I like the breakfast, fitness rooms, and other amenities typically offered at BW. This hotel has all of the same amenities and the staff was friendly, but the guest rooms are in desperate need of updating. The rug was dingy, the pillows flimsy, and the locks sketchy.

Rooms are dirty, breakfast was cold and not clean, sprinkler heads were dirty and not properly inspected, elevator has a short in it, no towels at the pool, security enters the room unannounced without knocking

Have stayed at this hotel for the last several years. Sorry to say it seem to be going downhill. More attention needs to be with the overall condition of the hotel and pool area. The service and friendliness of the front desk was very good.

I enjoyed my stay.. First, the staff was courteous and professional upon approach. Room was very clean. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Didn't stay long enough to enjoy the other amenities but will on the next visit.

Is it the hotel's fault the entire wedding that rented this hotel decided to have a party everywhere? No. However, the front desk sent up security who stood in the hallway and partied with them just as loud and told me they had a wedding that night. After waiting 5 minutes and the noise not changing volume at all I put on my clothes and knocked on the door of the loudest room and he said, “Sir, you can't do that.” Yeah, I can. There were around 20 people in the room who I told to be quiet, which shut them up for a few minutes, but it's still going on. I still hear a steady stream of conversations an hour later. It's one thing guests being obnoxious. It's totally different when it's the hotel staff.

Great hotel for the price. Restaurant and lounge on site. Was only there for one night but I will definetly use this hotel again as it is close to friends and family and easy on and off the highway. Great staff, and very nice rooms

Stayed 20mins room was dirty, just was being nice telling them I don't want to stay and they still charged me. The lady at front desk was nice but I guess the manager doesn't care, so that's why I have decided to give them this review

My family stayed for 2 nights and first thing we found was old food in the microwave, then there was food on the floor by the tv stand, the second night we stayed my daughter found a half full bottle of water beside the bed. Unacceptable.

Easy check in, friendly service, clean and comfortable stay. A little off the highway and next to an Arbys. Hot breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Beds were soft, room smelled clean and the bathroom was spotless.

We really liked this Best Western Plus. The front desk was amazing and I wish I could remember the very kind woman that was working. I think there were 3 or 4 letters to her name. A real gem of a worker and hope they figure out who this is to let her know how we appreciated her. This was a nice safe area. The rooms were clean. The heated pool was wonderful. The breakfast hearty. A very nice stay.

Family of 6 stayed in a queen beds suite. Lobby was outdated. Room itself looked more updated and big. Bathroom tub showed sign of aging. Sofa bed sheets in a bag in a closet was all rolled up together in a mess indicating someone used it and put back in a bag. Requested it replaced and front desk was rude and told me it was new. Took me 4 phone calls finally get new sets that came neatly folded which is what I expected the sheets in the closet to be. Pool was big but had no towels. Took 2 phone calls to get them. Bathroom in pool was dirty and not flushing. Reported it and second day it still wasn't fixed. Fitness room had bad order. Breakfast decent but didn't touch the cut up fruits as strawberries didn't look fresh.

The Best Western in North Haven provides all the usual amenities of a national chain - comfortable room, good WiFi, very good hot breakfast, great price. Noise was an issue - there were people chatting in the hall outside our door, and I could clearly hear every word. And the sound of doors opening and closing up and down the hallway was also very noticeable. We missed the entrance off of the road - there's only a small sign by the entrance, which is shared by an Arby's. So turn in at the Arby's!

The staff is very friendly. They go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. My room did not have a microwave and I had a burger and some popcorn to pop. I went to the front desk and ask if there was a communal microwave. The young lady at the desk offered to heat up the burger for me in the side room or she can The breakfast is top of the line with lots of variety and it is kept well stocked. The parking is good and well lit. The rooms are clean and are very good sized rooms.

Basic hotel for sleep and go. Linens and bed were good quality. Free bottled water in room was a nice touch. Odd layout with very long interior hallways. Room was large, but bathroom was tiny. Shower good.

We stayed here on our way home from a vacation on New Years Eve. I was impressed with the room size, comfortable beds and the lack of noise. I had expected it would be rather noisy being New Years Eve but either people were very quiet or the room are well insulated as we didn't hear anything. We were traveling with 3 teenage girls and the loved the pool and fitness room and took advantage of both. Breakfast was wonderful as well, a great selection of foods, all well prepared and plentiful.

The Best Western is a nice friendly place to stay I stay here a lot because it's convenient to my office when I'm in town. The staff is always friendly and helpful which is nice for a home away from home feel. The Harry's restaurant sports bar has improved over the years and has a good solid menu, they have happy hours throughout the week and a good mix of visitors from all over to have conversations with. The staff at Harry's is great Erin is a trip always funny with a great personality, and Jenna is amazing, Thomas being the newest member has a great personality as well and easy to talk to and is becoming a staple within the staff, Amy is always on top of her customers making sure everything is to their liking and a good conversationalist, Brian and Shannon a good as well there's never a drink that stays empty for long they are quick to server their customers to keep a busy night moving. Yes there are other places to eat and drink around but I choose to go to Harry's because of their great staff.

I was very satisfied with the staff. They were very attentive and professional. I think the common areas could be cleaner, but it wasn't dirty either. Overall, it was a good experience, a good location and I will use this hotel again

This has been run by several chains over the years and the architecture is clearly dated. The location is GREAT- right off route 91 and very close to New Haven. That could also be a disadvantage since the property needs a bit more security as it is near an urban center. The grounds need more attention, the personnel need to pay attention to what is going on if anything in the back. And yes the train passes near by so a room on the second floor in the middle worked well. The breakfast is in the pub and the first day all 9 tv's were on and were loud. The second was better. The food was fine, and even quite good the second morning. The personnel were all professional, and competent . The rooms were clean and well presented, and everything worked. I think BW needs to appreciate what they have as a location and consider renovating this property in a big way. The one in Berlin CT is better but it is in Berlin and not near New Haven...

It is the second time we have stayed, both times to visit family in North Haven. The hotel is normal business / traveller motel but I do like this hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size and well equipped and the beds are comfortable. I've slept well every night. I have yet to use Harry's Sports Bar in the evening because we spent every evening with family, but we have had a light lunch there twice (it is only open for lunch at weekends) and the service was great and so friendly.

I first had the pleasure of working with Emily in the Sales department to get my block start for my wedding this past Sept 15th. She was very good and keeping in contact with me for most of the process. When it came to day of she ensured she called when our suit was available and ready. When we arrived our bridal suite was a very good size and provide room for all our my bridal party to get ready. The hotel was accommodating about getting my guest checked into the hotel and giving them the welcome bags and any shuttle information they needed. The restaurant on property had attentive staff and friendly and did a good job of taking care of three wedding parties at the same time. I found it pretty amazing that the shuttle driver did double duty and finished with the shuttle then assisted in the bar. Overall I was very pleased with the service and friendliness of the staff at this property. Only thing I would recommend is ensure the towels are clean before placing them in the room. Thank you for all your assistance in making our wedding weekend a one for the books!

I had the pleasure of conducting a seminar in this hotel this week. A miscommunication caused the room to be set incorrectly, and for more than double the number of attendees i had registered. Massive kudos to Nebbi and Thomas! They get customer service; Nebbi, although working the front desk, took care of ensuring i was in the right room and getting my equipment moved and set up properly. Thimas had everything taken care of in mere minutes, relieving me of a great deal of stress that was co.pounded by the fact that i live in the path of hurricane Florence and am coordinating house protection from here. Cannot praise this staff too highly!

The carpeting was pretty damp, but hey, that means it was recently cleaned. We would have preferred it dry. The room was average. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning was good on a 90*+ day. The pool was not very clean though. And while our room was on the back side of the hotel adjacent to an Amtrak Railway, my husband was so amazed by the speed of the trains going by, he wasn't annoyed by the sound (which was not too loud). Breakfast was included and above average. Staff kept the serving area and tables clean. Pet friendly hotel too.

All in all, a very good experience. John the shuttle driver is outstanding. I was in a strange place, and he made me feel very comfortable. He also came in early on my check out day to shuttle me to the airport. He deserves praise for his kindness. Really, all the staff were kind and helpful. A great place to stay when on a budget.

This BW is strategically located off of I-91 minutes from New Haven, Yale, Quinippiac Universities. A number of amenities make a business stay very comfortable. There is a restaurant (free breakfast with stay) a lounge with a great staff and a fun menu. Gym and indoor pool for exercise. All of this, a great Wifi, and a comfortable room.

Very dissatisfied. Noise, drunk people and smokey room. The hotel honored a room change for me for the noise, but the new room was filled with smoke residue. There were no other available rooms, so wee had to pick up and leave late at night. Overall a horrible experience. Do your homework and find a reputable establishment.

Every area of this hotel was clean including hallways and stairways. They even clean the TV remote and put it in a bag! Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Indoor pool was great especially since it was raining on our first day there.

Stayed here for a family reunion weekend and had a wonderful time. Food, service, staff, bar and lounge were ALL excellent! Erin at Harry's made delicious drinks and accommodated a big crowd with a smile and a cherry, she was awesome! Also the front desk attendants were on-point with special requests and demands from my group. Overall, my entire family and I had a wonderful time.

Loved the price at the Best Western!! Was very happy with the cleanliness and kind and professional staff. The room we stayed in was clean and the decor was very nice would highly recommend staying at the Best Western Plus. It is nice to pay a reasonable price for just sleeping!!!

After reading the reviews of this location I wonder what hotel they stayed at. The hotel has an old and dirty feel to it. I am not sure how old it is but things are worn, scraped, scratches, etc. The breakfast was decent compared to most hotel breakfasts. Attempted to order room service one night but they did not answer the phone. The room was okay - nothing spectacular but it would serve our needs. I only had housekeeping come in once during our four day stay as I had my dog and wanted to keep him calm. When housekeeping came I asked for fresh towels and to take the trash. That was it. I was told no and she pushed her was past me. It took two other people coming to the room for me to get what I asked for. During this I was holding my dog and trying to keep my child sleeping. I was told at check-in that the hotel was smoke free. Please do not believe this. I was constantly smelling cigarettes. While I did have a room with a window to the parking lot where many did smoke as evident from all the cigarette butts, the smell came in the room from the hall. Mainly the room across the hall which only got worse when their door opened. My biggest complaint though was the lack of anything when there was a domestic issue in a room in the same hall. This domestic issue lasted for over three hours with yelling, screaming, swearing and physical violence. I went to the front desk and asked them to do something and was assured that "we will take care of it". I went back to my room. Ninety minutes after I complained, the police finally showed up and the ambulance 45 minutes after that. It wasn't until the ambulance showed that someone from the hotel finally showed. Upon checkout I was asked if I had a nice stay. I explained that this was by far my worst hotel experience. The front desk told me they were not going to close out my account yet and that someone would get in touch with me regarding what happened. It has now been five days and still no communication but the charge shows on my card. I chose to stay here due to the closeness to the hockey rink. Next time I will stay further away.

The lady managing the breakfast was wonderful. I needed gluten and dairy free. She got me non-sweetened almond milk, gluten free snack bars, gluten free bagels, on top of everything they offered. I enjoyed potatoes and dairy free eggs every morning. The bed was very comfortable. When I arrived, I noticed a train running right behind the building. I asked to be placed closer to the front and it was very quiet. I stayed for 5 nights.

Missing paid for coffee one morning. Pastries sat out all day, which is fine but next day was told couldn't stay out "over 2hrs" and was taken. AC not properly working for two days. Leaks in the hotel was combatted with bleach leaving a nasty moldy smell. Bathrooms the equivalent of a NY public restroom at 3am. Pay the extra money and go to the Hilton or any where to be honest.

This hotel is conveniently located just off the I-91 in North Haven. It is 10 -15 minutes from Quinnipiac University. The hotel appearance is a bit dated, but the room was quiet and very comfortable. Staff was friendly. They quickly replenished the pool towels when I asked for some. The indoor pool was huge. Breakfast choices were many and tasty. We especially liked the self-serve pancake machine. Staff were quick to clean tables and replenish food. We were happy with our hotel choice.

The pool was so wonderful at this hotel. The water was easy to get into and the pool is large and deep. We only stayed one night, but we used the pool the first afternoon and then we got up early to be able to swim in it again. We used the fitness room too and it was sufficient and clean. The breakfast was in the lounge/bar area with a waiter who came and took away our dishes - definitely a step up from the normal experience! Wished we could have stayed longer.

Check in was a nightmare. There were three wedding parties there at the same time so I think staff was overwhelmed. Dirty rooms. Poor service. Room shakes when train goes by. No towels at pool. Uncomfortable beds. Highlight was the free coffee in the lobby.

Clean & reasonably priced at about $100 a night with free parking and breakfast. Courtyard in New Haven now pushing $250 a night (including $20 a night parking & no breakfast) for a non-event weekend. Easy on and off both I-91 and the Parkway. Quick ride to New Haven, safe area and good restaurants nearby - Bellini's, Dino's).

Most enjoyable stay for our daughter's wedding! Rooms salesperson Emily Ardito was excellent & easy to work with. The full American breakfast was excellent! The entire staff was so friendly and helpful.

I was upgraded to a suite without asking. This location is nicely located off the highway with plenty to do in town. Take a 45 minute ride to the casinos if you get bored. Food and bar located at the hotel too. Clean and updated nicely.

We have stayed at this hotel several times as it is conveniently located to our family. In the past, we had two main complaints: 1. Previously, although the TV channel line up included Fox news was provided MSNBC was not and this does not provide balance. On our most recent trip, we were please to find MSNBC on Channel 10, but it was not listed or labeled as such. (I should point out the ESPN is not provided.) 2. The wifi was not password protected and now it is which means it is a little more secure, yet still somewhat slow. A few other notes: -On this trip we decided to stay in the Master Suite since it was unclear from the website whether the regular rooms still had microwaves. It was a lovely two rooms, although there was no sink near the microwave and refrigerator. Also, the suite was located in a high volume area near the side door which made it rather noisy. Other less expensive rooms are quieter. - The staff was very responsive to our complaint about a large booming sound coming from upstairs at 10 pm. It ended shortly after we called the front desk. - In general, the staff was very helpful, except for when we asked for more tissues and we were brought toilet paper. We never did receive more tissues. We survived. - I did see on bug on the wall which flew away before I could kill it or identify it. - Because it was Passover, we did not eat at the breakfast buffet. In previous trips is was quite satisfactory.

Just an ok hotel with refurbishing needed. Hotel staff at the front desk were polite and helpful. Breakfast staff did not even acknowledge I was their. Their was having a girl who was having a long conversation with friends. I stood at the door for a minute waiting for some direction as many hotels either sit you or advise you on how the breakfast works.

We spent the night at the BW North Haven. The room was spotless; everyone was very nice at check-in. There is a sports bar attached to the hotel. We didn't eat there, but did have a drink - very nice, and very good prices. There is a great little sushi place right up the road where we ate - also excellent food for a reasonable price. Breakfast was standard, but on the higher end of choices, including fresh fruit and cold and hot dishes. We were way beyond satisfied and recommend this BW to anyone staying in the area.

Clean hotel, nice staff, ok breakfast (but it's free, so cannot complain!). Overall, a nice place to stay if you find yourself in North Haven. Steer clear of Harry's food, though. Sub-par, at best. Some of the female staff at Harrys, really did not know what they were doing. Brian at the bar is awesome, though!

Stopping over during a business trip. Friendly reception, great location just off the highway, comfortable bed, and excellent breakfast with many healthy and fresh options. BUT the room was extremely dirty, especially the bathroom. Lots of hairs in the tub, toothpaste caked on the sink, papers on the chair, stains on the wall. If they get housekeeping sorted, this could be a good hotel.

Rooms are comfortable, coffee in the lobby, smoking is allowed on outside of property near entrances, you are greeted by cigarette smell. Person who checked me in did not smile once, seemed unhappy to be there. There is a restaurant on site but did not try it out. Close proximity to 91. Guests of hotel extremely loud, paid no mind that 2:30in morning and perhaps people are sleeping. Would probably not stay here again.

Horrible old hotel with a General Manager who doesn't provide good customer service. We had to change rooms when we got there from old and musty odor. Then we could hear the ice machine all night. Worst was there was a smoking area DIRECTLY outside our window so we could hear people talking and smelled smoke all night. I called the GM to get refunded for our terrible stay and he wouldn't do it. Just offered us a free night and we will never stay at this hotel EVER AGAIN!

Rooms are great size and up to date. Very clean and rooms don't smell bad. Great price for what u get. They have a restaurant downstairs and breakfast in the morning. Great part is , a lot of restaurants and fast food very close

I wasn't too sure when I pulled in here for a three day stay as it looked like a small 2 story strip motel. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the lobby to find a nice little hotel in here. Staff was very friendly and got me my room quickly. I had been here for only about a half hour when I discovered that the room they had put me in just wasn't going to do as I was here for business and needed to make calls, spread out stuff, etc. I went to the desk and asked if there would be any way to get a different room and explained my situation. WITHOUT QUESTIONS, they simply apologized that it was up to my needs and quickly found me a room to meet my needs. The replacement room was perfect... Free breakfast (real sit down buffet in the restaurant) and good WIFI... I'm not a gym/pool person but others in the group were saying how good those facilities were....

The staff was friendly, and the room clean and comfortable. Ask for a room up front because our room was in the back near the train tracks. Some trains that came by made our room shake. There also seemed to be some folks that enjoyed hanging out in the back by the entrance/exit to smoke, and we always had to go through all the smoke. The breakfast had a good variety including a pancake making machine. I had never seen one like that before. It made hot pancakes in a minute or so.

We stayed here for $80 which is a great price. We received two waters and snacks for joining the BW membership. Staff was friendly. Hotel itself is in need of an update which is not just another coat of paint over doors, frames, walls etc. Slight odor of cleaning products in halls and room which should be good but felt odd. Clean and tidy, but tired. Hallways were noisy because doors were not too thick. Easy access to highways, Quinnipiac, stores...

The front desk staff were very pleasant, the room was great , comfy beds , nice shower , nice clean pool .. the breakfast was more than anyone could eat .. the house keeping staff were even friendly..appetizers at check in .. over all A plus

Very easy on/off I-91. Little noise from the highway. Free parking! Lots of parking! Why stay in crowded New Haven and pay $$$$ to park. Very quick drive down to New Haven if you must stuff yourself with burnt pizza. Many cool places to eat in North Haven and Wallingford. The bar is a fun, clean and good vibe. Good pub-grub. All sorts of fast-food nearby if you need a fix. This hotel very close by to the North Haven Fairgrounds that hosts many events during the year.

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. customer service and hotel service was great. Many near by restaurants and a amazing indoor pool.This is definitely a hotel for everyone. you will enjoy and have a wonderful time solo, couples and family. I will be back.

Breakfast = standard Best Western, warm foods like eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes; decent coffee.

Ripped shower curtain? Hot water on the right in shower? Large furniture in room too cramped to allow safe exit? Refrigerator that whines all night? Mediocre bedding with no blankets? Broken door latch? Small pillows on a queen size bed? Any one of these items by itself wouldn't cause a bad review....all of them together means this hotel doesn't care about quality or keeping up the standards of their brand. The rooms were very clean. The front desk help was very nice and helpful, but the place needs a going over.

This is the second time for me to stay at this Best Western. What I like about it is that it is big enough to have all the amenities I would want - good size pool, exercise room, big rooms, actual breakfast restaurant not just a lobby dining area and more. It is very conveniently located next to two main highways (91 and Wilbur Cross). Price is quite reasonable too.

I've stayed at better hotels for a cheaper price.. I called in to make my reservation, when I arrived, they gave the wrong room (was supposed to be sutie with jacuzzi) then I told them about it & they said it was going to be an extra charge ?? I mentioned my AAA discount but received no discount ???????

I booked two nights in the bridal suite of this hotel for my wedding weekend in addition to setting up a room block for out of town guests. The location was great, about 15 minutes from my wedding venue and on a road with plenty of stores, restaurants, etc. The lady checking me in was friendly and helpful but the friendly service was downhill from there. I had an issue in my room with the heat not working. After being in the room about two hours with the heat on 75 the room was still pretty chilly, the later in the evening I realized the heater was putting out cool air intermittently. Some friends were in a room down the hall and their room was very hot after only a short time. We called for someone to come check it out but it was after regular business hours so maintenance was out. We were told that "security" would be coming to the room. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the man who came to the room but he was very dismissive of our concerns about the heating. He told us that the temperature in the room felt fine to him and that the heater as "doing what it's supposed to do." He also pointed out that it was cold outside, about 20 degrees, so it would take a while to warm up. We again told him we had been in the room nearly two hours but he continued to be dismissive of our concerns. The entire exchange was just very unprofessional. If he would have just said that he couldn't do anything to fix the issue at that time it would have been better and more acceptable. The next day a real maintenance man did come to the room and fix the heater so we had no issues on our second night stay. If not for this experience with the "security" guard not trying to fix our heater, I would give this hotel a higher review.

I found this hotel to be quite nice. They have nice comfortable rooms, a large pool and a restaurant all in the building. In the mornings there is a free breakfast. Free WI-FI is also included. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. It was cold in CT when I was there and the heater in the room actually worked. So it was nice and warm.I have been in many hotels where neither the air nor the heater work.

My friend and I stayed here one night while attending a conference in New Haven. It was about a 10 minute ride. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. They have a lovely sports bar where we enjoyed dinner. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with a large variety of food! The staff was attentive and accommodating, the pool was nice although we didn't use it. Would stay here again!

Great hotel for wedding guests - good value, clean and comfy! Full breakfast and shuttle service were a huge plus! The indoor pool was a hit with the kids too. All enjoyed Harry's Sports Grill - great staff and delicious food (homemade chips w/blue cheese, nachos, wings and the fish and chips were favs!)

This hotel had all that you would expect from a good Best Western. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It was an easy drive to Yale and the British Art museum.

no hot water toilet ran all night could not go to another room asked for extra pillows they said they would bring them never did in the morning I asked what happened they said they ran out I said a call to the room would of been nice 3rd time there will be the last.

Banquet rooms were in use, so there was no parking on the premises. We had to park in adjacent lot that had signs that stated cars would be towed at owners expense. When we asked the front desk, Gavin, shook his shoulders and said he couldn't help us. He also stated there was no manager on duty until Monday (It was Saturday) terrible stay!

I thought the stay was great except for the deadbolt not working on my door. The hotel location is great, the hotel staff is great and we were treated with respect and friendship. I will stay at this hotel again

Don't have high expectations when staying here, the room and the hotel looked like it could use a good thorough cleaning as well as some updates to the hotel and to the rooms. The pool area was ok, but we had to ask for clean towels. The complimentary breakfast was good, but not maintained very well.

Frankly, I've never stayed at a better kept Best Western. This is a clean, well-maintained hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. I don't hesitate to recommend this facility for anyone looking to find comfortable accommodations in the area.

We recently stayed at the North Haven, CT Best Western Plus due to a nearby family wedding. The hotel is pleasant, clean with comfortable rooms. The only complaint is the clueless front front clerk who neglected to hand out the hotel gift bags to the various members of the wedding party until we asked about the bags. We had requested an earlier check-in time to avoid a conflict with the wedding reception time, but were rebuffed by the hotel. Other than the aforesaid, the hotel was pleasant, clean and quiet. The room was clean with appropriate furniture and a comfortable bed. The staff at the downstairs bar/restaurant were nice to interact with. All the other hotel staff were pleasant to deal with.

Best Western Hotel in North Haven, CT, is a fantastic value. Very reasonably priced in an area where hotels tend to charge large prices for mediocre service. This one has a staff whose mission is to make their customers comfortable. They go out of their way to please, and they deliver a high quality stay. The breakfast buffet is far better than any other comparably priced hotel (far better even than the far more expensive Hampton Inn nearby), the rooms are clean and stocked with well-maintained equipment and furniture, the pool is delightful, the exercise room works remarkably well, and even the internet service and television offerings are consistently top notch. Kudos to this Best Western. Over the summer I spent a night in a VERY high priced New Haven hotel and felt like I got nothing for my dollar; at this place i got more than I hoped for. I have nothing but praise for this facility. The only down side is that there are no public transportation options to get one to New Haven or surrounding area. North Haven would not normally be a destination I would choose. However, if one has a car and if one wants to be close to I-91 and I-95 and CT 15, this is THE place.

I am physically challenged, I use oxygen. I specifically requested a room on the main floor close to the breakfast room or on another floor close to the elevator. They put us on the 2nd floor 2 hallways away from the elevator there were only 6 rooms further away. I went down and asked again for a room closer and they said they did not have one. Note the parking lot was far from full and there were not that many at breakfast. I believe they did not make a true effort to accommodate me.

I booked this hotel for 3 nights for my parents to stay in as we moved them out of their home. There were so many issues, I cannot help but say I've never had such a terrible stay anywhere else! The room smelled terrible, the TV did not work and took 3 hours to replace. The shower instructions were not legible and the shower is like no other I've ever seen. The restaurant-Harry's Sports Bar & Grill experience was terrible. The service was lacking, the food was served cold, burnt and soggy. Disgusting.

We reserved a room disability friendly. We walked into our room and the smell from mold was grabbing! Worse the chlorine from the bathroom was unbearable. There was a large chair in front of a very small closet that had to be moved in order to get to it. Frankly, this room was a disgrace and no one should ever stay there! We just could not bring ourselves to stay there. We checked out immediately and went back on Booking.com to find something better. There was nothing good about it!

Excellent value. Clean room. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast in adjoining restaurant with good coffee. Pleasant efficient staff. Right off I-91 exit 12 so easy to quickly get to Hamden and New Haven.

Best Western should be ashamed of the Best Western in North Haven Connecticut. We decided to stay at this location from September 6-12 2017 because we are originally from this area and this location would mean we would be close to friends and family. We checked in and the guy at the counter wasn't friendly at all but we're tired from flying all day so we go to the room. It is musky smelling to say the least. We pretty much drop our bags and go get something for dinner. When we return to the hotel am I'm kinda bothered by the dim and dreary room but we go to sleep. The toilet only flushes some times and the tv remote doesn't work. The room isn't overly what I would consider clean and definitely needs to be updated. The ceiling has obviously been repaired from water damage which is where the moldy, musky smell is coming from. The ceiling is clearly drooping. We decide we just can not stay here another night. We check out and the girl at the desk seems less than concerned. She says well did you ask to change rooms. Uh no lady if this was a room you put someone in then I don't even want to know what the rest of the rooms look like. She is only concerned about collecting my payment and charging me a cancellation fee. So I paid over $200 just to stay one night in the grossest room. Maybe someone should call the health department on this place because the mold smell was so horrible. I would highly suggest some improvements. We are so disappointed. I did try to contact Best Western via email and have yet to get a response.

The front desk clerks on all four days seemed to be unable or unwilling to assist in answering questions or to care about much of anything. Housekeeping staff however was very friendly and helpful. Room electrical outlets were in much needed repair

Breakfast would be the selling point for this location. Gil puts together a solid breakfast. Small crowds but Brian in the bar went out of his way to be friendly. The rooms were a bit dirty, lacked soundproofing, uncomfortable bedding/pillows and no ESPN or YES networks. Very easy access to routes 91 and 15

Best value in the area. Extremely clean and comfortable. Very convenient. A bit older but they have done recent upgrades. New carpeting in the guest rooms and better food in the restaurant would be nice. I will certainly stay there again. Highly recommend

My husband and I were travel from Maine to Florida and we stopped here for our 1st overnight. We were in and out after a restful night sleep and great breakfast. It was exactly what we were looking for to give us some rest and energy ro continue our looong drive.

Very close to La Mirage. Don't get room near ice machines, very noisy. Turn in at Arby's drive, motel entrance is easy to miss. Thought courtyard would be quieter. It was not, due to people playing and meeting out there. Recommend exterior facing room. Good beds, very clean room. Good breakfast. Suites available we wish we had booked for family gathering times.

Extremely friendly staff. Nice rooms. Great Breakfast. When we got to the hotel, we had a room reserved w/ a sofa bed. The initial room they gave us did not have that, but they did quickly correct it... And, THANK GOD they did. The original room we were given was on the 1st floor and the people were EXTREMELY LOUD. I still heard them on the 2nd floor at 2 in the morning. Maybe the staff could have told them to keep it down a little, but, it wasn't bad enough to be furious. The pool however, was a disappointment. It is a lovely pool, but it was cold and has a VERY small shallow end. We have two young children and everyone was crowded on the "shallower -4 foot" section. And the other hotel guests were not at all considerate of other people, but again, that is not really something the hotel had control over. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Short drive about 10 - 15 min to the beach, which was beautiful! All in all it was a nice stay.

From the time I checked in to the hotel till I left, the staff here was excellent and made me feel so welcome. They have a beautiful courtyard with beautiful foliage. Breakfast was wonderful and they had a verity of items which you don't see at other hotels. Overall had a fabulous stay, will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends

I had a jacuzzi room booked for my boyfriends birthday. The room itself was clean and spacious. I was disappointed with the jacuzzi tub tho. The nob to turn on the water was loose and the water wasn't coming out. I called the front desk to address the issue and when he came to take a look at the nob, the whole nob came off the wall. He didn't know how to fix it and maintenance wasn't there. He didn't have another jacuzzi room to put us. So my boyfriend and I ended up trying to fix the nob ourselves. We got the water to start running but it was only hot water. We decided to just deal with it. It was kind of ridiculous that we had to fix a maintenance issue ourselves.

My husband and I recently spent six nights at the Best Western Plus Hotel in North Haven Connecticut. We couldn't have picked a better property for our stay! It's conveniently located adjacent to I-91, which gives easy access to New Haven, Hartford and other towns and tourist attractions in the area. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It's an older style of hotel, probably built in the 60s, with a large indoor pool, exercise room, interior garden, on-site restaurant and bar, as well as other amenities, which are typically not found except in very high-end, pricey properties. The large parking lot was free. There is a large modern supermarket and a number of spots to eat located within about a mile of the hotel. The included breakfast buffet was, without a doubt, the best one we have ever experienced at our many Best Western hotel chain stays and at other hotel chains. There were many extras which you don't normally see, including fresh cut fruit, berries and other items. The dining area was spacious and pleasant, with plenty of comfortable booth seating instead of the typical plastic chairs and little square tables. My husband and I took advantage of Happy Hour specials ~ both drinks and appetizers ~ in the on-property, Harry's Sports Bar. We also enjoyed full meals there one evening, which were excellent and fairly priced! Staff in the bar were personable. Harry's is obviously popular with locals who frequent the place on week nights. If our travels bring us back to Connecticut, we will definitely stay at this hotel again! The value for the price paid can't be beat!

A very friendly hotel with clean rooms. I especially appreciated the mattress as it wasn't too soft like so many other hotels. It definitely wasn't too hard either. The breakfast offerings were good and the food was better than average for a hotel that includes breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly throughout the facility. Will definitely stay again when we're in the area.

We were traveling to Rhode Island to visit the mansions and this was the first time we stayed at this Best Western. We were very pleased with the stay. The room was large and the shower was great. The towels were large and thick. The breakfast was terrific (real dishes and utensils) and the food was hot and very good. the restaurant on site was also good and affordable Easy access from highway.

The quality was far below other similarly-rated Best Westerns that I have stayed at in the past. I felt like I has paid too much. This is more like a 2-star hotel. Was alarmed to see some mold on the wallpaper in the bathroom.

Best Western offers a wonderful Buffett breakfast. I had the pleasure of meeting Bridgette who works there. She does an amazing job of keeping everything stocked and the guests happy. The place was extremely clean and I look forward to going there again. My granddaughter also enjoyed the indoor pool

I love this hotel and wish that I could stay there always but I don't always have the funds to stay in this hotel. However, this is our #1 hotel out of everyone that we have ever stayed at. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

We hosted an event here this weekend and the space was great. Separate entrance for our guests and a nice ballroom - Bridget McNerney was top notch and saved the day for us with last minute setup and equipment changes. Thank you!

Stayed mid-week on a family trip back to CT. Like I said no complaints---room felt clean but no 'wow' factor whatsoever. A/C worked great and the water pressure was good! The lighting in the room was terrible!! and the curtains were not functional! Room did not have a microwave!!!!! That was unacceptable. Breakfast was good and check-in check out process was satisfactory.

I would recommend this hotel and stay there again myself. Very clean, the staff was great, courteous and helpful. Location was good, about 20 minutes from New Haven, some restaurants nearby on the road, but mostly fast food, Arby's right next door. One oops, because housekeeping forgot to replace wash and hand towels, but called and they were sent up within 20 minutes. Breakfast was excellent for a free buffet. Scrambled eggs and sausage, cinnamon buns, muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, breads, etc. We had a pleasant stay.

Not the best place in the world But the staff is super friendly and make sure you get a non smoking room ! The free breakfast is delicious compared to most places I enjoyed it ! The pool area was nice and closes at 11 so no super Late night swims but overall not a bad experience and please try their on site restaurant Harry's Bar and Grill amazing wings hands down ! I had the bridal suite it was very spacious clean and the indoor jacuzzi was spot on and the shuttle service offered was nice as well however if doing a wedding I would suggest not doing a block I would reserve online prices are more affordable and cheaper for the type of best western the only Perk I believe is the shuttle and a little gift bag the rates my friends booked without the block online and when walking in and just asking for a room wayyyyyy cheaper and affordable but what's done is done not bad would I go back for a night if I have to be in the area again maybe

The bed was comfortable, slept well, the courtyard was beautiful, coffee good and breakfast was excellent. the proximity to major highway was convenient. I am not at all happy with the fact I have to write 200 characters to publish the review which I will not do in the future because I am tired after just getting back from driving 14 hours

Just adequate, nothing more. Breakfast is ok, fitness center needs a lot of improvements. The temperature in the fitness center was higher than the hallways and almost got sick attempting to exercise for ten minutes.

I was looking for a couple things when looking for a hotel. Close to Yale, Free parking, clean, affordable and breakfast included. Not too much to ask for right? :) I got lucky because this hotel met all those needs! Halalujah! I don't need fancy smancy decor or pay attention if things are brand new, but I DO care about cleanliness. And this was a very clean room. I didn't once get the heebie Jeebies that it had been slept in by hundreds of people before me or that it wasn't throughly cleaned after the last guests. I slept great and that is worth a lot. We also ordered room service from the restaurant in the hotel and it was yummy. Life is good when you can eat in your Jammie's in your hotel room after a long day getting to your hotel.

Our room was clean and roomy, but I really want to comment on the excellent free breakfast given in the comfortable restaurant area. They had everything and it was very good food! And, last but not least, every employee we encountered was very accommodating and pleasant. Nice stay!!

Super clean room, wonderfully kept hotel appearance, great amenities, fantastic hot or cold breakfast that was worth a good amount right there!, friendly service, safe and quiet surroundings, and very convenient location immediately off the highway and within several minutes of New Haven.

We have stayed here multiple times to visit with friends and family. It is a very clean and comfortable hotel that is central to our friends along the shoreline and our relatives inland. The breakfast buffet is always stocked well and all the staff are friendly and quick to respond to any concerns. We will definitely stay here on our visits to CT.

Cordial and quick check-in, helpful staff. The king bed room was in great condition and well kept. NB: plenty of electrical outlets for mobile phone and computer! WiFi worked well. Breakfast is a well-stocked buffet. The scrambled eggs were fine; the potatoes were a bit tired. Otherwise the selection is comprehensive.

Stayed for business. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place is well maintained though not perfect but you can tell they tried. Rooms are clean and comfortable, though the noise from the hallways quite noticeable, had a family entertaining their kids out in the hall. Still all in all would recommend a stay.

Great staff. Well kept property. Clean room. Check in was most effecient. Interior grounds were excellent. Breakfast was a full buffet, well supplied. Could use more fresh fruit. Internet was a bit of a problem, but the 800 number they provided solved the problem.

we stayed in a suite with 2 queen beds with our 3 young children. The room was large and divided by a wall with two large doorways - one on each end of room. Why don't hotels offer suites with actual doors dividing the rooms? That would be so nice when trying to get young kids to sleep, but maybe the parents want to stay up a little later. Otherwise, this best western had the best divided space of those I viewed online - many others only had a half wall separating the rooms of the suite. Some minor complaints: small bathroom considering how large the room was, and bathroom lights were a mix of warm and cool color temperatures and the vanity lights flickered for a while before fully turning on. The two windows with AC units were in weird places - likely due to the fact that the room was on the corner of the building next to a staircase. It seemed both windows/AC units were in the living room and the bedroom was dark and warm (in the summer). The AC units were a little misleading as setting them to 72 degrees, which should be plenty cool did not sufficiently cool the room. I set them to 68 and the AC compressor stayed on longer and room got cooler. The TV signal would cut in and out on Nickelodean channel. The pool was touted as heated on website, but it was not. What was weirder, and maybe this is just how hotels do it now, but the pool room was like a sauna (almost stifling), so I thought "oooh, heated pool!" but then it was pretty cold. Oh well. Kids still liked it, so I can't really complain. Finally, the restaurant (sports bar) was less than stellar. It seemed understaffed and the food was mediocre. My ruben was dry and salty. But the breakfast was delicious! Oh and everyone was very helpful and friendly.

This is a somewhat expensive motel for its location. It is slowly going downhill in that it needs updating. The courtyard is being taken over by poison ivy. (yesy I did tell the staff.) The kitchen is very slow, but when the food arrives, its quite good. Breakfast is super. All BWs should learn from this place. No mamager on site all weekend. Whats up with that? There a couple of issues that could have been dealt with but could not be because of that oversight. For the money its not a very good value, but is convenient if you need to be in New Haven or surrounding towns. Go to the bar/lounge and ask for Brian. Best person on staff.

Staff goes out of their way to assist you , excellent rooms and great food. central located able to cover all of ct western MA and parts of NY from this location . They make you feel at home, can ask for a better place to stay the best

We booked this Best Western because of its convenience to the La Mirage wedding venue. We were pleasantly surprised but how nice the hotel was. The gazebo in the courtyard surrounded by flowers was a gathering place for our family and the free breakfast was an added bonus.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding block. I was initially told that I would be able to check in an hour early. I then called the day before my reservation and was told that it wasn't guaranteed. Day of, I was told that if I wanted to check in early I would have to get a room with 2 beds instead of a king. Upon arrival we were fortunate enough to end up with our original room type. Overall the room was ok, even though it was right across from the laundry room. Also, if you are someone that likes natural sunlight, I would suggest a room on the 2nd floor. People walk by the 1st floor windows all the time and is very easy to see inside. We also discovered that the TV did not work but it was so late at night and we were tired so we didn't even bother calling the front desk. Compared to other experiences this hotel was ok, I would consider revisiting if I got it at a lower price and was told correct information by the staff.

The staff were fantastic. Room was clean and spacious, although there was a lingering cigarette smell even tho the hotel is non-smoking. Bed and pillows very comfortable. The full breakfast each morning had so many options (eggs, cereal, waffles, fruit, etc) and it was good food. The exterior needed some attention (a lot of trash in the parking area), but the inside was nice.

This is a great place to stop if you're travelling between NY/NJ & Boston. It's clean, the folks are friendly, the bed is comfy and the shower is terrific. But their free breakfast is the best. Great selection of fresh fruit, and many other choices.

Nice clean and comfortable hotel. Close to the highway, I91 and 15. The only reason I did not rate this a five was because I don't think the AC was working correctly. I had it on 65 and it was still hot in the room. Not sure if this was because it's an end room. I had to bunch the drapes on top of the window sill so the air could circulate. They need to install those clear plastic diffusers under the drapes. It was room 268.

We traveled here for my sons orientation program for college and have stayed here several times during his selection process. Great hotel, great price, great location for folks traveling to Quinnepiac University. Will definitely be staying here again over the next few years.

We arrived very late on a rainy night and were very pleased to be in a warm and comfortable room with a big bathroom. We were leaving very early so the early start for breakfast was much appreciated. The breakfast was of high quality and variety, loved the fresh blueberries and oats. Great value too.

From the start. Friendly staff. Quick check in. Wish I could afford to live here . Comfortble beds . Room 266 I was in. The temp was just right. I stayed 2 nights and both were pleasant. It was hard to work the shower at first but not because it was broken but because it's a different way I've ever seen before. Efficient hot water though.

Staff is very attentive to your needs and will follow up with you to ensure that any issues that you may have are resolved. I complained of my room and was offered another room. Maintenance came quickly to resolve the issue. You are greeted by front desk from the moment you enter or exit the lobby area.

The property was immaculate and huge. I liked the iced lemon water in the lobby at checkout.. a nice touch. Staff was very helpful and friendly.the room was quite large and also immaculate. The little bathroom incidental supplies were great and upscale.

Our room on the second floor had a very strong chemical/cleaning solution smell. We asked to switch rooms and were given a room on the first floor. It was only slightly better. The head of maintenance apologized and offered to buy us a drink in the bar, which was nice, but it didn't solve the problem. The room was pretty clean and had adequate amenities. We frequently could smell smoke from cigarettes when out in the hallway, so maybe they use the chemicals to hide the smoke smell. The breakfast was very good and the service was also good, so if you can put up with the smell, it would be a good place to stay. Also, the printer in the business center was not working, but the front desk printed our boarding passes.

Stayed here two nights over a holiday weekend to attend a wedding. Felt the $169 for a no-frills king room on Saturday night was high, but my go-to chain hotel was fully booked and this was the next best location. While it is a no-smoking hotel, the previous guest had clearly been smoking. The front desk staff switched our room, but I would've appreciated if housekeeping flagged the room and it was not assigned to begin with. Our room also had only one bath towel, again the front desk was able to rectify the situation and give us another towel. The first-floor room was damp; basement-like and parking was directly outside the room, would recommend you request a second-floor room. Yes, the carpet was stained, but the bed was comfortable and the white noise from the AC fan helped for a good night's sleep. The breakfast was served in the restaurant, it was ample and tasty and the coffee was very good. I enjoyed walking around the grounds in the morning, with my coffee, looking at the well-tended flowers and plants. Overall, this is a property that is adequate, but needs some TLC and additional effort to get it right the first time.

We were not expecting FILTHY carpets in the room ... didn't even feel like we could go barefoot! There were dead flies on the sheer on the sliding patio door, and the door latch did not lock, there was only a bar to stop the door from being opened, but felt very unsafe! There were dark curly hairs on one of the hand towels ... making it very uncomfortable to use any! All in all a very disappointing visit. The front desk staff, both at check in and out, were WONDERFUL!

It was nice to be welcomed by the front desk staff the moment I walked into this hotel. I was greeted with a friendly smile and a nice welcome gift. The room had a great bed. The mattress was nice and firm, which is my preference. The bathroom was spotless and the shower felt great. The breakfast was more than I expected. It was a full spread with scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, fresh fruit, and all the other foods you would get with a continental breakfast. I would come back to this hotel any time I'm in this area.

Staff of reception was great, the room was very clean, lots of space and definitely great value. Got hungry and went to the hotel restaurant and turned out to be a wonderful experience too. Hands down a place where I will return soon. Great job hotel management.

After traveling for 10+ hours I had decided to stop and find a hotel room. As luck would have it the Best Western Plus North Haven was on my route. This hotel was by far beyond my expectations for the price!

This was my second time staying here in 2 years. This time for graduation. The only reason for me writing this review is to compliment the staff of this hotel which is remarkable. The breakfast is included and other then an espresso machine pretty much has everything, btw there is a Starbucks and a Dunkin next to the hotel. The rooms were clean, bathroom a bit small but clean. The price this time a lot more but it was graduation so no complaints.

the hotel was great, we had a king suite, the room was huge, well cleaned and maintained, the front desk was a little tough to deal with, when asking questions it felt like the gentleman was being bothered by us, but overall the place was great. they do offer a shuttle service to the local colleges,but be forewarned that if you take it it might take sometime to pick you up, in our case it was quicker to uber back to the hotel. i give this place 4 stars because of cost and upkeep of the rooms and hotel and location

We were checked in to Room for a family affair that was packed with get-togethers.We noticed that was wall paper was coming off of the walls and looked at the paper that was coming off by the HVAC unit only to find the backing with black areas which appear to be mold. The Bathroom had black (and some red) spots on the ceiling over the bath/shower. The bathroom floor was sticky and several parts oft he floor had black areas, again which appeared to be Black mold. .Obliviously this condition didn't appear overnight. How could the staff not see this?I took some photos of the items that disgusted.If this is a Best Western plus what do the basic properties look like. We were very disappointed and checked-out a day early and moved to a Marriott Courtyard which was spotless and the same rate!

There was a young African American girl ( I didn't get her name)that was there to greet every morning, I was there for Seven days, she made my visit absolutely perfect. She was wonderful. Thank you for making my visit enjoyable.

The hotel is one of the only options in Noter Haven. It was decent. The checkin service was outstanding. The bar area ia a little disorganized and I dan't know why it takes 15 minutes to get a drink when there were only about 15 people in the restaurant total. The witnesses were more concerned with counting their tips than serving customers.

Nice Hotel with lots of rooms. The only downside was the long walk to and from the room to the lobby. Other than that it was a good place to stay. Breakfast was nice and the restaurants was appealing. Thanks.

My overall stay was average. Nice enough room, clean, affordable, etc. However, I had negative experiences during breakfast that altered my rating of this hotel. Breakfast was included (which was a plus) however, I witnessed situations that not only made me uncomfortable but actually offended me. I've been a nurse manager for twelve years and know what is appropriate conduct between staff. Unfortunately, what I had witnessed was the breakfast manager Sam falling in and out of sleep in a booth with her phone in her hand and leaving the breakfast area unattended for various amounts of time giving little to no service. The following day I had a different breakfast server, Bridgette, who was accommodating, sweet and nothing short of professional. Again however, unfortunately I had to witness Bridgette get harassed and belittled by the same breakfast manager Sam. I overheard Sam swearing, yelling, and speaking in overall foul language towards Bridgette. Her behavior was not only unprofessional but also unnecessary for myself and other guest to have to hear. There is no need for anyone to ever speak to someone in such foul manner. Her language took me aback. It shocks me that a corporate company would have such a disrespectful and unprofessional manager on premise. Not a good representation for the hotel.

My stay here was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. All of the employees were very kind and helpful. I would def recommend staying here if you are in the area. Nice and easy to get to right off the highway.

Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel layout is a bit peculiar, never found the breakfast. Good value and convenient location. Ample parking, restaurant and bar on site. Only real downside was a rail line behind hotel I could hear during the day, not at night luckily.

Decent accommodation but attention to details lacking. No towels at pool, pool area needed a good cleaning, tv not working, courtyard full of cigarette butts and doggy bags, and chairs falling apart in courtyard. Could be a 5 star if the cleanliness and attention to customer service could be corrected. Front desk staff seemed to be multi tasking to cover. Location is very convenient and layout of property is nice.

The rooms are super small. The room we stayed in and the hall way had strong smoking smell, and you see people smoking outside as well. the hotel is by the train railroad. there was train passing by twice (at night and early in morning), very loud and lots of vibration. There are stains on the pillow cases (1 pillow case was inside out making me wonder if it was ever changed) and bedding. Lots of noise from hallway and next doors, obviously, the walls are cheaply made and no noise reduction. When we walked by rooms in hallway, a super loud dog barking at us behind the door from one room that scared me and my kids. The design of the hotel is crazy, super long and many hallways and very confusing. The elevator is hiding in one end while the door to the back parking is at the other end which only has stairs. So, we had to carry our heavy luggage up and down the stairs (broke one wheel when rolling down the stairs). Also, not sure if there's wireless wifi, we had to use the cable on the desk to connect to internet. Price is too high for this quality and location. Breakfast was good though.

The people that work there are very nice. The hotel was clean and easy to get to from the highway. The restaurant was good. Our server Candace was a sweetheart. Breakfast was good. Our only bad experience was that around 2AM the room got very warm and the AC didn't work. We didn't feel like calling the front desk at that time because we were too tired so we dealt with it.

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western for an overnight while attending a sporting event at Yale. Compared to the prices of the hotels in downtown New Haven the Best Western was a very good deal. The accommodations were nice and clean. The only real issue we had was the noise. There was a prom going on and all we heard until around 1:30 in the morning where young kids loudly talking or at times screaming in the halls. One of the reasons other than the price was to avoid the noise of a downtown location and we did not avoid that by staying here.

The hotel is not particularly clean. It's also fairly noisy. We had a room with an adjoining door that may as well have been a curtain. Same with the door to the hallway. Loud all the way around. Breakfast was okay. They miss the details in the lobby, such as coffee cup lids that should match the size of the cups but do not. The hotel was a bargain yet not worth the price.

Good place to stay close to CRH school. Close to highway and not really appealing from outside. I read several review on the safety of this place, thus requested a room on a second floor and parked me car at a visible spot. Nothing happened. Room is clean and adequate two double beds but bed size was full. Too tight for two people in one bed. AC was noisy. Pool is big but no hot tub or sauna. It was a bit cold after swimming. Bar serves good food, reasonably priced. Service was very friendly and nice. Our food came really late w wrong side dishes and a waitress tried to rectify it immediately offering 20per cent off. Overall reasonable place.

Second time me and my husband have stayed at this hotel. Both times we have been impressed with the comfort and cleanliness. This past visit our tub was on the plugged side and draining slowly. Maintenance was called and fixed the problem in no time. Breakfast has so many more options than most continental offerings. I have some diet limitations, so hotel breakfast is usually off the table--but not here! Surprised at how good Harry's Grill (onsite restaurant) was as well. Seemed like the run of the mill sports bar, but the food was actually pretty good. Service was really friendly as well. Thanks Amy!

Hotel is located on main road lined with shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Also immediately off Route 91, extremely convenient for travel purposes. The interior Sports bar is great as well! Food is REALLY good. Some of the best Burgers I've had.

If I had known that the hotel blocked a major news channel I would not have stayed. They informed me it was something else but I strongly believe they new the situation. 2 weeks after my stay I noticed that I was charged twice for my room waiting for that to get resolved. Overall, I will not stay here ever again.

Our daughter attends Quinnipiac University. We have stayed here several times while visiting her on campus. The cleanliness of the hotel seems to decline every time we stay here. The last time we were here, there was have eaten fruit left under the bed. This time, there was a bug between the mattress and box spring. Maybe that is what they mean by Best Western Plus...this is our last stay here. Sticking with Marriott even if we have to drive a further distance. It's rated #1 in Hamden because there are only two hotels in Hamden total.

I am giving this 5 stars for the value of this hotel - not because it is a luxury hotel. This 5 stars is largely attributed to the incredible service of the staff. I arrived to this hotel from Bradley via CT Limo (drops directly to this hotel) at 10:30 AM after a red-eye from the West Coast. Being tired and cranky, I was hoping they may check me in early - and they did! They even offered the breakfast for that morning. The lobby has coffee/tea/water at all hours which is really convenient. The check-in was smooth. Aesthetically, this is a small-town hotel chain and the lobby is average, but comfortable. It has an indoor pool (10 ft max), a small gym with weights and treadmills, and also a small business center. Everything was clean and easy. The room itself was comfortable, though nothing special. The breakfast was decent with home fries, waffles/french toast, eggs etc. It was warm and there were a variety of options. I was here for business at Quinnipiac's North Haven campus. This hotel offers a shuttle from 7 am - 5 pm for free to the campus, which was very convenient. The shuttle driver even offered to take me around New Haven, if I was interested. They were always a phone call away and were prompt, courteous and kind. I had a rough travel schedule, but my short trip back East was made simple and less of a headache 100% because I had a good experience at this Best Western. Thanks again!

This hotel was clean. Service was good. Room had tub that didn't drain well. room was cleaned well everyday. pulling into the hotel was the entrence into Arby's, which was confusing at first. but did find the driveway. it was close to the highway so it was easy to get to where I was going from the hotel.

This hotel was right off of the highway which is good. However, the entrance was hard to find as it was not well light and shared a driveway with Arby's. The side of the building was a bit sketchy with a line of parked 18 wheelers. The staff were professional, check in was fast and easy. The room was basic but very clean, comforter was thin but the pillows made up for it. I was one the first floor, no noise at all. I did hear the occasional footsteps above me so next time I would ask for the highest floor. Breakfast was good, served in the adjoining restuarant, plenty of seats. I asked for a to go plate, which was granted and ate in my room. I just want to add, every staff member said "my pleasure" after I thanked them for each request. It's the little things!

It was ok. Not great. Needs updating especially the bathroom. It was clean and the beds and linens very nice and comfortable. Price was a little steep for a hotel in the middle of no where and with other competitors nearby. I thought the restaurant/breakfast room was really outdated and in much need of modernizing. The breakfast buffet was just ok. Coffee was empty at 9:30 on Sunday morning despite there were 7 people waiting on tables serving OJ and cleaning up plates. Very friendly staff and very eager to help replace the coffee. Would have been nice to have a bigger covered front portico and benches for waiting on your party. There was no where to sit outside and it was rather cramped for arrival/departure. Inside lobby there was a nice welcoming group of couches but really do not hold a lot of people. They should consider buying more contemporary pieces which sit multiples. Overall i picked the hotel because it had the highest ranking in the area and would maybe try another property.

Don't stay in the back of the hotel. This is where the train tracks are and you can't sleep more than an hour at a time as the trains pass by all night long. I asked for a room at the front to get away from the noise and was told the charge would be $45 more per night and the room is exactly the same as the one I had. Also these rooms were not occupied during my stay.

On October 21st we tried to check in early, having driven in from the Shawangunk mountains in New York. Understandably, the room was not ready. Emily was busy on what was obviously a personal call about getting a ride home, ignoring the fact that guests were in front of her. When she got off she began to complain about the fact that she was supposed to be off shift, that someone didn't show up for work, and she was now working for nothing. She said the room wasn't ready yet, so we sat in our car in the rain for an hour. I called again to see if it was possible to get in a room and she said I will get you in around 1:30 or so. She took my number and said she would call when it was ready. She never called and when we went to check in at 3:00 p.m. she was gone and never called or updated us about a room.

Room smelling like vomit, Poor quality sheets - sandpaper like, hotel staff did not try to be accommadating when checking in.. Mandatory two night stay is very unreasonable and they did not accept any discounts because it was a block reservation. Many many of the quest experienced bad key cards and were constantly needing replacements.

We have been going to Renaissance faires every year , We always try to find the closest place to stay. That is what this place was. Had a great buffet breakfast. Nice Staff. Clean rooms, close to stores for food to bring in your room.

Hotel was extremely lovely, staff professional and courteous. I would definitely stay there again. Amenities were very nice and the breakfast selection outstanding. Great location near many restaurants/ pharmacy and other attractions.

Was here for a parent weekend and it was the perfect hotel for us. The staff was very nice and it has a indoor pool, gym and a restaurant/bar. The location is perfect. Lots of nearby places to eat. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was clean, neat. Pillows comfortable but mattress could be a little more comfortable. People friendly and helpful. Gym is small, but clean. Pool is also clean. Centrally located to everything. I definitely will stay here again.

I was here for a seminar only so my review is not based on a stay. The Ruby room was spacious but drab, tones of brown and gold. There are no windows. The bathroom is rather small given the amount of people who "need to go" during breaks. The breakfast food was not good. The mini bagels were hard. Lunch was not served properly as they piled all of the sandwiches (tuna, meat, veggie) on top of each other so it was difficult to tell which was which. They also forgot to put napkins out. If you have an event here be sure to assign someone to liaison with the staff so things are done properly.

I stayed in this hotel 4 nights. I was by the manager who is Brazilian, she was very polite, she gave us a lot of tips about the city. There is an Outback in the same square, very close to the hotel. The apartment is pretty good mainly the bed, is pretty soft I'd like to stay more days 9nly to sleep more in this amazing bed! The breakfast is too bad. They offered the same menu all days long. I bought other things in the supermarket. I kept it in the frigobar. If needed to stay in this hotel, it will be a pleasure, considering that I will buy my own breakfast.

This hotel was safe and clean and priced fairly reasonably. It was located near major interstate which I thought I could avoid by asking for room in the back. Which worked. Except in the back was a railroad where the train went by every few hours....so....yeah that sucked. Other than that everything ok.

Hotel was easy to find and made a good first impression. It was clean, rooms were very neat. The only complaint was that we couldn't get the room cool enough for our tastes. It was Fall and temps outside were in the low 60's but we like it cool to sleep and the ac just couldn't get it there. We opened the window but it would only open slightly. We would stay here again when in the area.

The hotel for the most part was good. Nats and flies were in all area's of the hotel. My room, my quests rooms and the restuarant. Guests left with bites. The front desk help were pleasant but not above average. The breakfast was good and the staff was very attentive and patient.

The breakfast options were good, and the wait staff included with the breakfast were wonderful! Very nice and helpful! Bar attached to hotel which was nice. I have no complaints about this hotel. It appears somewhat older and dated, but the room was clean. Very large hotel and my room was somewhat far from the front desk area, but it was fine and I felt safe. A few chain restaurants nearby, easy off and on to hwy, but not much shopping area. I was directed to great shopping nearby though!

Very clean and comfortable with easy access to shopping, restaurants and highways. Great location to get to anywhere from. Bountiful and delicious free breakfast! Friendly, courteous and helpful staff

The workout room was nice, equipment and TV worked well. Room was clean and comfortable. Quiet A/C. Breakfast was good. Did not go into the pool area. Internet worked and was reasonable speed. No issues for this one night stay.

The rooms are typical traveling motel style. This place was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The prices are great considering the prices closer to Yale are very high. The location is good as it was really easy to get on and off the interstate. The breakfast was just ok, typical for a free breakfast where the hotel has to serve many people in a short period of time.

Upon arrival the hotel looks nice, the lobby is decorated nice but is smaller then it looks on the website, the girls at the desk were very nice and accommodating. However I did not receive a small gift for being a rewards member. We were directed to the side of the building to go to our room. The side entrance wasn't the cleanest. The room we bought was the bridal suite, strange layout. Hot tub was tucked separate from the bathroom behind a wall, the bathroom is small. When I plugged in my charger behind the nightstand there was a ton of dusk on the outlet which told me they didn't clean behind the furniture. I noticed the wallpaper above the bed was peeling off the wall. At night you have to have the outer curtain closed because of the light out in the courtyard. The bed was nice and comfortable. Air conditioner worked well, the breakfast was very good with potatoes, eggs, sausage. Waffles were cold though. All of the staff was very friendly and nice. The pool was cold so we didn't go in, not very clean. This hotel would be a lot nicer if they paid more attention to detail with cleaning.

We were traveling up to to Bristol, RI and needed a quick stop over. this is a great place. It is easy to find and the fact that it is a little north off of I-95 is not a problem. Everything was clean, comfortable and the price was excellent so that makes this a great place. there is lots to do around the hotel. The breakfast food was OK and is as good as I expected. this was actually the second time we stayed here, the first on another trip about five years ago.

I had to stay here for visiting New Haven. Hotels in New Haven near Yale were just too expensive to afford. I found this hotel and it was only about 15-20 minutes away from Yale. Hotel was clean. Clean sheets, bath, fridge, everything was clear. It's located right next to a high way so very convenient to move around. Best part was complementary breakfast. It was a simple continental breakfast but was included. Plus parking was free. Overall it was great stay and I recommend to stay here.

We travel relatively often and are not the type to complain at all or leave negative reviews, but I must admit this was one of the filthiest rooms/hotels we have ever been given. This review is absolutely not related to the staff (they were all very nice and we appreciated that) . In a nutshell...From a gigantic spider on the smelly carpet, to fruit flies, to mold everywhere in the bathroom, to boggers on the walls, a blood stain on one of blankets, a mountain dew can under the bed (and a MYRIAD of other indescribable 'things'), and even an absolutely filthy entrance door literally so dirty you could distinguish the hand (and foot) grease from the at least the past 5years. I am so sorry to be writing this, I don't mean any harm by writing this review, but I must be honest for the benefit of other potential visitors. I call this lazy maintenance to stay polite and/or simply not caring about cleanliness. We will never stay here again unfortunately. Just hoping this review helps this hotel's management to realize how filthy and unacceptable some rooms are in order to help them improve the experience of future travelers :( PS: the mini-fridge looked clean.

I needed a place to sleep while on the way to Boston. It did the trick. It wasn't anything amazing. We walked down the hall and multiple rooms were open with fans on. We walked it out room and it smelled. It had a very old musty smell. I felt that it was a little overpriced. It needs to be updated, that's for sure. It was fine to stay for one night but I wouldn't want to spend any more time then that there. It was just old and it showed. The breakfast was really good!! Lots of variety. Much better then I expected.

I reserved a King bed room for 2 nights for myself at first, then decided to add a night with double beds since my daughter needs to stay one night there. I called BW asking them if they can swap me to a double bed room for the other 2 nights as well so I don't need to check-out and check-in again since I will stay for 3 consecutive nights. The lady assured me that it had been taken care of, but at the time of check in, I was told that I can't stay in the same room for 3 nights. They gave me a King room when my daughter was with me for the first night, then switched me to a double bed room when I was by myself - just the opposite of what I wanted. The first night we arrived there past mid-night, waited for over 20 minutes before we could check in since the reservation of the person in front of us was messed up somehow. The wifi was not very stable either, on and off for me. Other than these issues, it was not bad. Breakfast was decent.

We spent the night after attending a concert in Wallingford. The location was perfect and the service personnel were very attentive. The only problem we had was getting the outside door to open on our return after the concert. The door sticks badly. We did report it to the front desk. I would use this hotel again.

First of all, I booked a room with a King bed and a pull-out sofa bed. Receptionist said there was no mention of a sofa bed in the reservation and all they had was a King bedroom but could give us a roll-away bed which, in her words, "...is very comfortable". OK, then. My daughter had a horrible night sleep because a third of the springs, under the mattress, were broken! Morning comes, I go to the front desk and tell the receptionist of the dilemma with the springs. She couldn't understand why we weren't given a king bedroom with the pull-out sofa bed when we arrived since IT WAS AVAILABLE! Anyway, she said she would have our room changed by the time we came back in the afternoon. They did change our room in the afternoon. As for the rooms themselves, the amenities are a bare minimum (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath gel), no shower cap, tub is slippery (they need mats) and the tile grout could use a good scrubbing! There was no ice machine near our room and the included breakfast was mediocre at best. The coffee was delicious and always available in the hallway. The food in the hotel restaurant (Harry's) was pub type food but delicious and the waitresses couldn't have been nicer!

Staff was great adjusting our stay arrangements several times. Room was clean & nice with a comfy queen size bed (two queen bed room). Buffet breakfast was included in the rate and was good and the staff did a great job making sure you had everything you needed.

If it had not been for Emily (at the front desk) this would have been two, not even a three. But emily retrieved some notes I had left in the room, and that deserves recognition. This is an old hotel that has been inadequately (or too long ago) renovated. It is bit down at the heel, many things do not work, and in general, I cannot give management high marks for attention to detail. Breakfast is OK. People are nice.

The room was pretty, clean and quiet. The breakfast was the best with a hot/cold buffet, table service and good coffee. I didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Hotel staff was so nice. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. They have a in-house bar/grill and there are a nice selection of offsite eateries. Easy on and off the highway.

Motel, close to highway. Easy. Not too much to say about it because it is a prominent example of American motel by the highway. Generally clean. Breakfast complimentary and was simple but ok. Free parking. Staff helpful. When commuting, to sleep over, I can recommend.

This hotel was expensive for what it is. The beds were comfortable but the rooms were small, some musty smelly and quite dusty. The shower was good and free breakfast was very nice. Staff was good. I was only here because the wedding party said to go there.

Hotel staff was fine, but they couldn't resolve problems with our bill, despite three attempts. The rooms are very dated, especially the bathrooms. The carpets were absolutely filthy in our room (136).

Stayed here with another couple attending a graduation at Quinnipiac. The hotel really was a mixed bag, frankly. I travel alot for my job and I found this to be a decent and not great hotel which came off as having decent sized rooms which were generally clean. They have a really nice garden area plus a Sports pub/restaurant with decent buffet Breakfast in the morning. Some down sides were that the carpeting in the hallways was dated, they had fly traps hanging from the windows in the hallway leading from the lobby to the first floor rooms (really?), and while they have a nice sized indoor (only) pool- which quite frankly was absolutely refreshing water temperature wise (outside temps were 97F)- the water was absolutely disgusting and looked like it had not been cleaned in days. The pool water got churned up by multiple folks swimming in it and was so bad that our party of 8 left the pool area to take showers. The pool water experience and fly traps in the hall area really drove this review to a 2-3 circle review. North Haven does not have alot of choices. Proximity to Quinnipiac is great. Breakfast was fine and rooms are a decent size and fine in the end (recommend to spend the extra $ and get the Suite, though). Front desk did their job- nothing more/nothing less. Pool and some general issues need to be looked into. I would recommend short stay here but not much more beyond that.

A very nice clean hotel, rooms are clean & spacious, Breakfast and staff were great, they kept a very clean area and were always there to assist if we needed anything. Food was hot and tasty. The bar/lounge was great as well. The burgers/fries/onion rings were great. Our waitress was fantastic, she gave great info concerning "Things to do" within an hour of the New Haven area. The staff at the breakfast and lounge were 5 star.

Spent a couple days here in early August after the renovations from Holiday Inn to Best Western plus. Unfortunately the front desk receptionist gave me the worst room in the place for noise and there were a couple weddings going in that weekend. As I say I was asking Nebbie to change room type from a handicap room to a twin bed and she not only kept me in handicap but also must have thought it funny to place me at the intersection of 2 hallways right up front. I heard loud noise until after 2:30 AM. Any time I go east I've always stayed at this hotel going back to when it was a Ramada Inn in the 80's. Will not do it again.

Be truthful with me about the cost of the stay. I was provided a written amount for the stay and I was overcharged at checkout. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to resolve. The dispute was in my favor.

Our softball team stayed here for 2 nights during July, everything was fine, rooms were clean, cute little sports bar on premises and close to lots of restaurants and stores. My only complaint was housekeeping and timeliness of it - our room was cleaned on day one but no new towels were left - after two softball games in the hot weather all my daughter wanted to do was take a shower - I kid you not getting a towel was like trying to win the lottery - the maid was so apologetic and very nice and pleasant but it took her 20mins to find me one clean towel so she could shower - granted she told me she would have all new towels by 4pm today and bring them to our room and when we got back from our afternoon out they were there as promised :). Only other small issue was when we arrived at check in at 3pm again after a day of softball and traveling from MA we had to wait until almost 4 to check in, with check in time stated as 3pm, again staff was super nice and apologetic but waiting is a pain no matter how nice they are :). These issues are small and would not deter me from staying here again and only reason I mention is so management will get a handle on it :). The kids had a great time in the pool and there was areas for them to just sit and relax and meet other girls from other teams!!!

This hotel's staff and management were very accommodating & friendly. Everyone was out to make our stay pleasant!! I HIGHLY recommend staying here, if you are ever in the area! The Facility was very clean, the food was good! The housekeeping crew was awesome, cleaning the room when we out for a short time. Breakfast was good and the wait staff was awesome! Our hotel made the trip very enjoyable and I'm very happy the team chose to stay here. The area offers every kind of shopping and it was close. They even had a DQ down the street which the girls couldn't get enough of. Don't waste your time looking for the best hotel to stay at if you are in the area. The hotel can't be beat, you get your money's worth when you stay here. Keep up the good work BWP of North Haven! Don't have anything else to add to this but I have to do a minimum of 200 characters to get this posted. What else can I say, it was awesome, thank you for making our visit such a pleasant one.

We've been to some pretty bad hotels during our softball travels but this is not one of them. This Best Western is pretty nice. Very clean and spacious. They have a nice indoor pool, a really nice garden area plus a pub/restaurant! The hotel is packed with softball players but you'd never know it as there is plenty of room to move around. I recommend this hotel!

I'd stayed here previously seems it's lost a bit....Room was adequate nothing at all special...a combination of issues though, ...elevator not operable...tv wasn't working because Elevator company working on elevator had to remove DISH? ..refrig didn't work called desk they promised they'd send someone....no one ever showed up...Maid entered my room three hours after checking in.,5pm for what who knows left but left the door ajar,,again ??? .... No refrig...no elevator....no tv....no service..probably never again. ..previous stays rating would have been 4 star!

I stayed at this hotel this past weekend for the north south challenge matches . Poor WiFi, Bad Breakfast, room wasn't ready until 30 Minutes once we got there, pool over flooded into hallway , dirty bathroom in room , wall outlets fell out of wall. Good courtyard and Bedrooms though.

We stay here for a wedding that was close to hotel, Everything was great. Even had a shuttle to venue. That was on time. Very friendly at check in. We all met after the wedding at Harry's in the hotel and the service there was great

We booked this for a wedding May 20th the price was ridiculous well over 200 a night, must have been because of graduations etc. had a handicapped room, good thing i didn't need to shower because it was just a tub with bars. need shower stall.

This room was booked for me for the purpose of a job interview. Staff was very nice when I checked in, but when I drove around to get to the door nearest my room I realized that the train track is about 10ft from the parking lot. The "security" door which requires a room key to get into - doesn't close properly so anyone can walk in. The building/room seems a bit run down (closet doors aren't aligned properly, wooden plank in window sill, wear on walls type of stuff), but very clean. I can hear the train pass by (3 times so far - I've been here 2 hrs). There is one tiny tiny elevator and I felt like I was walking around a labyrinth trying to find it, then around three corners to get to my room. I'll take the stairs back down. I did try to go to the onsight bar/grill to get something to eat, but after sitting for about 15min with zero attention/response from wait staff I just left (it was already 7pm and I was starving) - grabbed a bottle of wine from liquor store 2seconds down the road and some Arby's. =)

I should have known we were in trouble when we checked in and the front desk said I couldn't have a king size bed (even though I had specified this when I booked in early April. We helped my mother-in-law to her room and as we were getting her settled in my husbands foot caught a pair of mens underwear from under the edge of the bed. In our room the housekeeping had missed a large sport bottle top next to the nightstand. In the morning I went to take my shower and had no shampoo, as I was checking out the bottle of body wash it was empty. When they brought up the shampoo, body wash etc 2 of the bottles were used. I would not go back to this hotel ever.

Very clean and nice place to stay. Rooms clean and good size. Big clean pool area. Free breakfast very good with helpful staff and many choices. Would avoid Harry's on site Bar/Pub. Horrible service, ok food for dinner.

Although I did not stay at the hotel, I conducted a seminar there. Markee was our banquet captain. He was attentive, professional and proactive. He paid particular attention to detail and even Fabreezed the room. Thanks so much for all that you did!

I stayed at this hotel on business. What can I say? It was conveniently off the highway, clean and a nice room. I was a little disappointed that two lamps didn't work. Had a sports bar that was decent. The night I was there it was totally dead. The front desk was helpful. I was quite surprised at how big this hotel was. It had a ton of rooms. Other than that I have no complaints.

Stayed at the North Haven Best Western for one night. Had some family business to attend to. The hotel is close to center of North Haven. They have a good, but typical, breakfast buffet, which is included in the room price. Hotel is clean and quiet.

Booked for 2 nights for a wedding nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel needs an update but it was adequate for what we needed. Room was nice, bathroom was small. Price was reasonable. Had a courtyard room, courtyard needs some sprucing up. Would be nice to have some tables with the chairs outside. Pool was large but no supervision on who comes into the area. Even though you need a card to get in the door, guests were allowing bigger groups of people in to swim.

Just satisfactory. Reasonably clean, reasonably priced. Good location. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ok. Overall, hotel still needs some work... Decent pool, workout facility. Nice courtyard but needs more grooming. Stayed a week and was definitely too long for this type of hotel.

I booked this hotel over Hotwire the day before a weekend trip down to CT for a Jackson Browne concert at the Oakdale. I was pleased with the price and location close to the theater, but everything else was exceptional as well. My room was very well cleaned and presentable upon my arrival. I was surprised to find my room also had a microwave and mini fridge. I'll know to bring extra snacks next time I stay, haha! The bed was very comfortable and I got a great night's sleep. The breakfast in the hotel was very good with a great selection cereals, grains, and meatier fare. The homestyle potatoes were a little "bleh" but other than that it was good. Overall my stay was fabulous and I would definitely stay here again.

Staff is very friendly, room was clean and adequate. Location is central. Complimentary breakfast was adequate and tasty and the pool is a good size for a hotel pool. Friendly staff at the bar. Has everything you need.

I was in town to attend a high school reunion. This hotel was conveniently locate, next to two major highways, yet it was very quiet. My room was on the second floor, with a courtyard view. There were three wedding parties also staying at the hotel but I did not hear a peep. We had drinks in the restaurant lounge - very pleasant and not too expensive. The pool area looked great although I did not use it. I wish the hotel website included the in-room mini-fridge and microwave in the list of amenities. Also had free wifi. Staff was very helpful and professional. A great experience all around.

Mot the best not the worst. TV sucks though. Hotel is kind of gloomy. It was pretty clean. Fitness center was not that good. The staff was friendly enough. the breakfast wasn't anything great. It is in a great location though.

Room was clean, but had faint version of that deodorizer odor you find in economy motels. Looks like it was built maybe 1960s, and not recently renovated. Hallways had old look and carpeting looked far from new. Staff did not function as a well oiled machine -- sent to occupied room (where my key worked); next day key did not work (until two trips back to front desk) on my own room. Desk had no working outlet for laptop (unplugged lamp to get one, then it was dark). TV had many cable channels incl HBO & Cinemax, but CBS and ABC had no signal. Room was clean, however, and while I heard some loud residents and a little street noise, not bad for hotel that is right next to I-91. They have a restaurant that I did not sample (no free breakfast, but coffee available in lobby). A/c worked well.

The hotel was average. The cleaning staff was very poor. They left me no clean towels and did not replace the empty tissue box. There was no one to assist with my luggage. The front desk seemed fairly indifferent to my needs. Additionally, when I went for tea in the morning there were tea bags but no hot water, only coffee.
