    « Staff very welcoming »

Spent one night in this elegant town in an area that has sadly suffered from the recent quake, and so we shared the hotel with emergency workers doing a great job repairing buildings (N.B. Norcia is however very much open for business, although one of the roads up to Piano Grande was closed when we were there). Hotel very comfortable, staff very friendly and welcoming. Good hearty breakfast. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to take advantage of the sports facilities at the hotel.

« very nice hotel in Norcia »

the hotel is ideally situated just outside the city walls of Norcia, and has very good sporting/ entertainment facilities; we were very impressed by the very nice, friendly and flexible staff and enjoyed our stay very much ( wished we could have stayed longer)

    « a good experience »

this hotel is overall a good experience, good service and a clean room. fine small outdoor pool and a large indoor pool. we could park our donkeys in the ranch on the opposite side of the street. only the roster next door ruined the sleep together with a worn out matress.g

« It could be very good.... »

This is an hotel of the BW system but owned and operated by the same family which owns several other hotels and restaurants in town. This is a large hotel on three floors which has many positive things. The location, just outside the walls, is not in town but within 10 min of pleasant walk from the square and free parking. It is also next to a sport center with swimming pools and several basketball and soccer fields. The construction is interesting, the interior is well built and the room comfortable. The staff was superb: local people very kind, absolutely knowledgeable of the area and eager to please. The breakfast, by italian standards, was more than acceptable. Unfortunately the hotel is very noisy. Sound proofing is limited and you can hear the noise from the various sporting events past midnight, plus the noise from adjacent rooms. Compounding it, during the summer the hotel houses one hundred plus young kids participating to a soccer summer camp: although they were remarkably well behaving there was additional noise and chaos.

« A great place to stay when visiting Norcia »

We were very satisfied with our stay at the Best Western Hotel Salicone in Norcia. Just outside of the town walls (an easy walk into town). The rooms were comfortable, the showers worked well. Reasonably good WIFI speed for a place in the mountains like this. Breakfast was very good for what I've come to expect in Italy. Some warm items, pastries (watch out for pits in the date pastry, though), fresh fruit. The servers were quick to ask you if you wanted coffee or tea. The only complaint I would have is that they cater to athletic groups, and sometimes these guests were noisy and banging doors late into the night. Make sure you don't get a room near the emergency exit door, which people kept trying to use. This isn't the hotel's fault, but it was an annoyance.

« Good hotel if you are on the first floor »

Salicone is a nice hotel conveniently situated just outside the Norcia town centre. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast is, for Italian standards, very generous. We stayed there twice in the same week. First time (1 night) we had a room on the first floor that was very satisfactory. Second time ( 2 nights) we had a room on the ground floor in which we discovered the flaw of the hotel: every sound from the room above is clearly audible, footsteps, voices... and the noise of the shower and toilet flushing is beyond belief. If you want to stay there, insist on a first floor room.

    « Good location, quiet »

I liked my stay at this property. Our room was quiet, well appointed. Good internet. Clean room, comfy though the pillows were not great. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was OK, not great but satisfying.

« Good rooms, poor breakfast »

We had a superior room and we were surprised to find a very big room, 4 star quality, with a huge and confortable bed, good air conditioning (we had almost 40 degrees outside). On the other hand the breakfast room is underground and the breakfast was very poor. The coffee at breakfast was undrinkable, we went upstairs and ordered at the bar. Unbelievable for Italy! :) The hotel has two pools and the guests were enjoying them (we stayed just one night so we didn't use them).

    « Perfect for families »

The best: - Carlos at the reception who solved all small issues and made us feel very welcome - the animation team our kids loved The good: - inside pool, outside pool was sometimes a bit full with the large group of kids in the hotel. But kids were very polite so cannot complain about them. - we had a very large room an good beds , decor was a bit dated, but did not stay here because of interior design - rest of the staff: all friendly and helpful - the bar: cool beers @ a cool price :-) - breakfast The bad: - airco did not work properly - fridge worked after we fixed it, but seen the cool drinks at the bar this was not a problem We also met the owners at their restaurant, highest respect for them being so present and hands on managing half of the town they own

    « Friendly,clean, close to city center... »

We took a quick trek from our home in Paciano Umbria and booked this Best Western at the last minute. The service was great, the room clean and good sized. The bed was actually dry comfortable for an Italian hotel. The breakfast buffet that came with price of room was good too. The location was just steps outside the city main ports... Great find.

    « A child-friendly hotel »

We stayed here with our daughter and son-in-law, and 8-month old grandson. There were a good many families staying with children including babies. This hotel really caters for them, providing cots, bottle-warmers etc and always giving the sense that children are really welcome. The rooms were really spacious and the bathrooms even had massage baths! This is one of the hotels run by the Bianconi family, and is not as luxurious as their Palazzo Seneca - but it is more appropriate for families with children. We had half board at a very reasonable price, and ate in the Bianconi's Grotta Azurra restaurant, where food and service were very good. No fuss was made about substituting dishes from the Carte for those on the half-board menu, and no extra was charged unless for expensive dishes (eg with truffles). As is usually the case with well-run hotels and restaurants, the owners are very much hands on.

« All modern comforts available »

We stayed here for the last two nights of our trek through the magnificent Sibilini Mountains. After spending the previous 5 nights in remote little villages or Rifugios, it felt we came back to the 21st century (with good working WiFi included). However, the hotel was much larger, busier and noisier than the previous nights spent up in the mountains.
