Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn

This place is a gem on the Oregon coast. The view from our oceanside room was like something from a beautiful painting. There were loads of kids playing outside and a fire pit for the parents to view the perfect sunset. The beach was right outside the front door. Cool games to play in the common area in the lobby. We can't wait to come back.

Had a wonderful stay and experience- room with ocean view was amazing. Staff was super friendly, but the biggest surprise was the food. We had room service, restaurant and buffet since we were attending a conference. All was excellent! Must try the halibut fish and chips! Conference buffets are typically bland and cafeteria food quality but not this hotel. Quality, tasteful and great service. The hotel lobby is beautiful with a fireplace and fun games. Access to the beach was easy and I enjoyed a peaceful walk along the beach, even with the snow. I've stayed at many places around the world and I highly recommend if you are visiting Newport or attending a conference.

A wonderful property a few steps from the beach with magnificent views. The staff is extremely friendly (look for Nikki and Kym). The rooms are well kept. If you find yourself going to the Newport, OR area, you must consider this a very fine place to stop, and - better still - spend a few days. There is a restaurant and bar - food is very good and service is excellent (look for McKenzie and Karma). Top marks across the board.

Kym is friendly, efficient, and a jack of all trades. What an asset! After making a reservation for us for next year, she went right over to the coffee machine and replaced product and got it going again in no time! Then right back to the front desk. The room and property was clean and well maintained. I would only suggest that the restaurant "temperature wise" be warmer, with all that glass I realize it can be difficult.

We had a very unpleasant experience there. We were on the second floor right next to the door to the pool which is open from 8 am until 10:30 pm. There is a closure on the pool door but IS NOT working (seems like it should be easy to adjust). We checked in at 4 pm and righjt away what we heard was the pool door slamming so loud it made us jump every time. Did not stop until 10:40 pm and started up again the next morning at 8:00. We complained the first day and were told that they were aware as they had had many complaints. We complained when checking out and were told that they had never heard that complaint before. They did take some money off our bill but nothing can make up for how unpleasant our stay there was; would never stay there again.

Our group chose Agate Beach Inn for the second straight year for our annual awards banquet. The planning provided by team at Agate Beach Inn, the execution, and the pricing were outstanding! Everyone in our group had an excellent stay.

Birthday vacation they have a really nice indoor pool and hot tub the lounge is really nice as well as amazing location with beach accessibility with a view of a lithouse. Even tho I did not bring my pets I do enjoy it being pet friendly!

It is generally my favorite on the Oregon Coast for price and views, cleanliness and food. Breakfast is always great quality, but is now just general fair. In the past it was far more creative. The rooms are great, not sure why anyone would get the hillside view, and the rooms would be great having a walk in shower. Will definitely be back.

This in my opinion is the best by far Best Western I have known or ever stayed at. My stay there felt more like I was at a resort rather than a hotel but without the super high priced bill. The staff were very helpful, friendly and fast. My family and I will definitely be staying there again when in town for our next vacation.

Comfortable beds. Soft sheets. Room was clean, quiet and spacious. Walk out on first floor to the beach. Would definitely stay here again. Staff was friendly at the check in and parking was easy. It was overall a very lovely stay (sadly one night was all we had time for)

One night in Newport, OR as I drove up the coast. My room was clean, and bed was ok. (had 2 queens, but only used one.) Small refrigerator and coffee maker. Needs new carpet but it was end of season. I had an ocean front room which was nice.

I haven't slept this good in a very long time. Beds and pillows were amazing. My husband and I slept until 9 or later every day. We were in room 404. Great ocean view. Room was clean. Not sure what the deal was with the coffee making. We asked for a new one and they brought one up and that one only gave us one cup. Then it started working fine. Operator error? Maybe. They have coffee and mochas in the lobby. The mochas are delish.

Agate Beach Inn was a great spot to sleep for the few days we had on the coast. Easy 2.5hr drive from PDX. Location was great, quick drive to the harbor(must see), restaurants, and lighthouses. It is pet friendly, so the room had a little pet funk to it. Nothing that turned us away, but worth noting. Everything was clean, we had a handicap king ocean view room. The amenities were wonderful, coffee machine lattes made my mornings, indoor pool/ hot tub was nice to relax in after walking all day. We never walked down to the beach access, but the views were great. Everything you'd expect from a Best Western Inn. Thanks for a great stay!

On a recent trip to a business meeting which was held at Best Western Agate Beach, I had the good fortunate to stay at the same hotel. I was so impressed with not only the physical location which was right on Agate Beach, but also the amenities as well as the service. I've stayed at far more expensive hotels and had much worse service. Every staff member here was polite, helpful and friendly.

The Best Western Plus hotel in Newport is a wonderful place to stay! The view, the cleanliness, pool and spa, proximity to the beach, and the grounds are outstanding. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets soft and crisp. In addition, it was nice and quiet so we could hear the ocean throughout the night. We enjoyed our breakfast outside on the deck enjoying the soft roar of the ocean. The staff provided great service. I do not recommend dinner, however. We waited for over an hour for our meal and it was not very busy. They forgot to bring me my beverage. I waited 30 minutes and then finally reminded the waiter. The food itself was a 5 out of 10. Now, maybe it was just a bad night. I'd give it a second chance.

Wow! This is one of the nicest Best Western's we have been to. It is a 6 story building north of "downtown" Newport, OR on the ocean side of the 101. We stopped just for one night on our way from Eureka to Aberdeen and, because we like to frequent Best Western, we chose this place. The hotel has ocean view rooms or not ocean view rooms (we had the latter) but each floor lobby has a little sitting area by the elevators where you can relax and enjoy the spectacular view of the beach. We were delighted to find a very nice bar and restaurant at the beach level with friendly service and really delicious clam chowder. If we had had sweatshirts or jackets, we might have sat out on the outdoor terrace (enclosed inside a glass wall to ward off the wind). There is a little kiosk in the lobby that sells snacks (and wine) to take to your room. The room accommodations are spacious, newly redone, clean, clean clean and comfortable. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the room with "the usual" coffee set up (including liquid coffeemate rations). My only complaint is that our room didn't have an ice bucket. I'm guessing this is a temporary oversight since it did have a microwave, refrigerator and "the usual" conveniences we expect from Best Western. No problem, though, as we just filled up the little plastic bathroom cups with ice cubes from the machine down the hall.

When we checked in we were placed in a clean, comfy King room. I had requested an upper floor quiet room facing the woods/hillside. Unfortunately, after we got settled in the room we heard a yappy dog barking somewhere above us. The barking continued, so we notified the manager and she moved us one floor down. We could still hear the barking in the new room, so the manager gave us a free upgrade to an ocean view room on the other side of the hotel, where we could not hear any barking. Her willingness to help us get the quiet room we wanted made our stay very pleasant and enjoyable. Thank you so much!

This hotel was amazing!!! Quiet, great views of the ocean...great area to relax each day overlooking the beach with fire pits! Friendly staff! The driveway is a bit hard but once you know it is coming up easy enough! love the parking and bridge to the hotel!

We stayed at this property for 2 nights while visiting the Oregon Coast. It sits directly across from Agate Beach and offers great views of the water and sunset. We arrived after dinner and our room was ready. The front desk staff were very nice. Our room was clean and comfortable and offered a great view of the ocean. Daily housekeeping is provided. The hotel has a restaurant (we just had dessert, which was good) and a fitness center. The fitness center was very small for a property of this size and the equipment was worn. There's an outdoor area that offers great views of the beach/ocean. We'd stay again.

During the reservation process, I indicated that my sister had some potential mobility issues. The hotel accommodated our needs easily. The room was great, the staff extremely helpful. The only downside for our stay was that my sister could not eat most of the items on the menu due to an intolerance to nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, green peppers, etc.).

The pool is much smaller than what the pictures lead on. Checking in front desk was very nice, but we had a problem with a cabinet door that partially fell off the hinges and was hanging in the walkway, contact the front desk three different times over a seven hour period and had to finally go down to the front desk to borrow a screwdriver As it was a safety hazard with little kids. Hot tub was closed, fire pits were not running and those were two things that we really wanted for the quick family getaway.

This was our second summer stay and we all enjoyed it again. We were traveling with our grandsons, 9 & 10 and they loved it as much as we did. It is a great location, looking onto the ocean and a short walk to the beach and still fairly close to town. They have a great indoor pool and hot tub, very clean and warm, surrounded by glass so you can enjoy the outdoor beauty. The restaurant on site has delicious food and an excellent wait staff. We highly recommend this hotel.

Great location. A little spendy but you're a short walk to the beach. The pool and hot tub are what you'd expect for a Best Western but still nice to soak after being on the beach. Super dog friendly and the restaurant on site is decent.

This hotel is clean! Very convenient and the restaurant was awesome. Our view of the ocean couldn't be beat. Beautiful Oregon coast with lighthouse in the distance. Fell asleep to the waves. I would definitely stay hear again.

We were very pleased with the auto upgrade to a beach view room. The view from the room was wonderful. However, the walls were paper thin. A couple next door was having a normal conversation and it sounded as if they were sitting in our room. I believe this is the first BW Plus hotel that I have stayed in that did not offer a complementary breakfast. I think we would look for alternate hotels if we should visit the area again

I love to take time and head to the beach for a few days of R &R and I decided to stay at Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn. I am a loyal Best Western customer and being a Platinum member of their Rewards program, I wanted to see if this Hotel lived up to the reputation I had heard. I can remember back when this Hotel was built and was a Hilton and hoped it was keeping up with the times. I found the room clean and up to date. I was impressed with the restaurant, the food was quite good. The service was friendly and welcoming. The front desk was great in greeting and accepting when I told them a problem with the slow drain in the tub. They got right on it and called maintenance to take care of the problem. The view from the room was fantastic. I hope they can keep up the appearance by daily cleaning of the grounds and interior of the hotel. I didn't think it was overpriced for the time of the year and the influx of tourist to the area. Overall it was great. I will go back again in the future.

Favorite place to stay in Newport. Room/pool set up well for a handicapped person. Restaurant is always good and you can watch the ocean while you dine. Always clean. Always friendly staff. Well managed.

While this property is in a great location, the facilities are aging and are not being well maintained or cared for. Carpets are old and dirty and repairs in rooms were done by amateurs. The prices being charged for rooms are not reasonable given the condition of the facilities.

We spent one night at this lovely hotel and really enjoyed it. It was recommended to us by my daughter. The hotel itself is quite nice and has nice facilities. Our room was large, clean and well appointed with a view of the ocean. The bed was amazing and there were lots of pillows to choose from. The hotel is across from the ocean. We sat outside around the firepit and watched the sunset. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the server went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted it. We had lots of choices in Newport as to where to stay for one night, and this was a GREAT CHOICE.

I got a solid night sleep and the facilities were in good shape. The parking setup is unique but very agreeable. The on premise restaurant is handy and made good breakfast. That breakfast is sold separately. It was nice to chill and watch the sunset over the ocean.

Business and also a few days of vacation. We had a really nice time at this hotel. We were only able to spend one night here, but it was worth it! Great customer service and a beautiful beach. We loved that the hotel had a hose to clean off on the way back from the beach (very helpful with dogs!). The restaurant was really good and relaxing after a day of travel. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Best western Agate Beach in Newport, the Room was clean and comfortable, we have an amazing ocean view. We enjoyed the indoor heated pool and the Games in the lobby area. The restaurant / Bar at the first floor have a great ambiance with a killer ocean view.

All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room view was better that the pictures. The room was really clean too. The hotel was easy to find and really close to the highway, and only a little walk down to the beach. Fast friendly service in the restaurant, good food to and clean. Definitely going to stay here again

Clean and good place with good coffee in the lobby. Nice views and friendly staff. For a dog friendly hotel I was pleased with the cleanliness of it. We will bring our fur pals next time. They missed us!

Perfect spot to stop for a couple of nights. Restaurant? Outstanding! Service? Outstanding! Views are unbelievable and it's right on the beach. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It's a super clean and well managed location and shows it.

Down the road are so many more economic choices! With the same view!! We travel with a pet and expect the room to have some evidence of prior pet visitors; however, the rug and bedding was covered in thick white fur!

The hotel was fabulous. Beautiful view of the beach and easy access. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. The restaurant had late hours, so was unable to eat late lunch or dinner there. Breakfast was nothing special despite the high prices. If you stay there (and I recommend it), plan to eat in town.

I was in town for a wedding. This hotel was very clean, comfortable, quiet and a great view. The bed was very comfortable and although their were a lot of people at the facility my room was very quiet and relaxing after a busy day of wedding and people. I would highly recommend. The staff was awesome too!

What a great place to stay. Wonderful view of the ocean, the sunsets, the lighthouse in the distance. Nikki, front desk clerk was simply amazing, kind and caring. Housekeeping staff was very accommodating and friendly. The extras like the coffee/hot chocolate machine, the games, and most important the fire pit was so appreciated. We ate at restaurant (The Sea Glass) our first night and it was really good. Would recommend to anyone and we will be back next summer:)

Here's my story... I made reservations at Newport Inn and when we got there the room was on the top floor and my wheelchair mother couldn't get up so we had call around and best Western were so kind!!

Honestly this was the most expensive room I have ever booked. We were on a road trip with my 97 year old father, so I wanted something nice. The property was easy to find. Fortunately we had a handicapped placard or we would have had to park "around the corner" in an area you couldn't even see from the lobby. This is a very family oriented place from the chess games set up in the lobby to lots of parents and children in and out. There are six floors. We were on the Third. I made reservations 4 months earlier and got the ocean view I requested all the way down at the end of the floor, pretty much obscured by trees. The room was clean. The toilet however when flushed sounded like it was turning on and off constantly as it filled. I took a video of it and went to the front desk and they took money off the bill as they wouldn't be able to fix it that night. There is a restaurant down stairs that does take reservations (front desk didn't know if they could or not). It is the only food available nearby, otherwise you need to get in your car and go somewhere. There is no free breakfast "because of the restaurant on the premises". For the money, I expected more and was somewhat disappointed.

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our trip, but sadly, the most disappointing. The hotel was extremely worn around the edges and breakfast was not included. Check in staff were kind enough but with only one staff person at the check in desk, we waited an extremely long time. Would not stay here again.

After a day of touring the Oregon coast, it was really nice to settle into a room overlooking the ocean. The sound of the waves and the sunset from my window was the perfect ending to a day of sight seeing. I ordered room service as well so I could continue to enjoy the view uninterrupted.

I booked after midnight. I had originally booked at the Elizabeth inn in Newport but when I arrived since I had brought my 5 year old they told me no they could not let me in. Very frustrated since I had booked weeks ago I didn't know what hotel would have availability. It was after midnight and I have driven 9 hours away. They were able to book me in and the front desk was exceptionally nice and very helpful. My family ended loving the hotel and will definitely stay again. The staff is awesome.

Rooms were clean except for dog smell when windows were closed up. Seemed like everyone I saw had a dog! Had an ocean view, restaurant on premises, nice parking area. Stayed 4 nights and it was comfortable and close to lots of things in Newport. I would stay here again.

I called for breakfast at 10:25 am not realizing they stopped serving at 10:30 am. When I realized my mistake, I apologized and asked if it was too late to order. If he had said that it was too late right then, I would have understood and thanked him and hung up. But he said it wasn't too late and took my full order-he even asked me questions, clarifying my order. He ended by letting me know that the kitchen was backed up and it might take a little longer than usual, to which I said I totally understood... and I THANKED HIM. 1 hr and 25 minutes later I called and of course there was no answer. So I called the front desk. The lady that answered said the Hitchens had closed and everyone had left. She even checked and that guy just took my order and then never put anything in. He blatantly lied to me. We waited nearly 1.5 hours- my kids were hangry and frustrated, as was I. I chose your hotel because of the free breakfast for kids but I did not feel that I could trust that e would actually get our food so I didn't order again over the next 2 days we stayed. The lady at the front desk said she would "look into it and see how she could make it up to us" but then we got no follow up or anything for the remaining 48 hours we stayed there. We stay in Newport every summer and this is not a hotel I would recommend to anyone nor would I stay there again. A really awful experience... and we stayed at a place that smelled like crab last year- at least they didn't lie to us.

We hav e been here several times over the last 15 years. The highlight is the view and the restaurant this year. They have upped their game on the food. Flakey and well breaded halibut, chicken pasta and Korean wings. Our server Nancy, I never saw her stop the two nights we were there. From cleaning to,straightening the bar chairs she never stops moving. That is a rarity on the coast. Stop in for dinner or spend the night. After all these years it just improved!

This is a beautiful property! I am not very familiar with Best Western Plus brand, and this experience was a nice surprise. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Our view from the hotel room was a beautiful view of the coast. Our family enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely impromptu winter stay. Check in was super easy, staff was pleasant, and the hot tub very welcome after a cold day at the beach. Clean room, comfy bed, and the attached restaurant was surprisingly good!

Lovely location overlooking the ocean, with a lovely restaurant on-site. Great food, breakfast not supplied though, so is on your dime. Staff in both the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. All in all, a great stay.

Very nice property, you won't be disappointed. We always travel with our pup and this property is pet friendly. They put us on the 6th floor which I thought would be a problem but because the property is on a hill, it has an upper parking lot that connects to the 6th floor via a walkway. Very nice getting our pup and luggage out without having to use the elevator.

This is not your average Best Western. The decor & rooms are upscale, bright & serene. I am so impressed they offer boxed cartons of water to Platinum BW members. Kudos for ditching the plastic! They will allow unattended, quiet pets in your room while you dine/drink in their lounge/restaurant! Our dinners were delicious. You have to pay for breakfast but it is worth it. You walk right out the back door, down a driveway to an expansive beach & dunes. Pet bag/waste stations are available & a hose for sandy paws. A laundry room with 3 washers & dryers. This is our 2nd visit. We highly recommend this hotel.

Our race club held our annual awards banquet weekend here. This included a catered dinner and use of the banquet and hospitality rooms. There is just nothing bad I can say about our experience. It was excellent, clean, well-run, and friendly. Access to the beach is excellent. Restaurant (and catered) food was delicious. They made us feel very much at home and valued. I'm sure we will be back next year.

Great location with a beautiful ocean view. The staff are nice and answered any of our questions. The restaurant has a view of the ocean and they also have tables outside with fire pits. We had the lobster mac and cheese and the pork chop- yummm. The rooms have comfy beds and the pool area was a added bonus:)

We went to the Agate Beach Inn because we knew it had wonderful views of the ocean. We wanted to see the winter storms. This provided great views. It's also in a great location. You are not far from groceries, the docks, the aquarium, and scenic areas for whale watching. We can

Best Western Plus agate Inn is best place in Newport for the getaway ! We always enjoy our stay with the property but this time it was over and beyond customer service and that's the reason I gave 5 star to the property. The attached picture is half an hour away towards Florence, Oregon.

This hotel has the most comfortable beds, super nice clean rooms and the views are great! Bed food is a fantastic option(room service) and all the food tastes good! We also get to bring our pup along with us! This Agate Beach hotel is our go to

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area, beautiful ocean view on the coast, great quiet comfy room and bed, everything was extremely clean from the outside grounds to the inside of the hotel. Great staff especially Melissa at my check in, she is very knowledgeable about the area and has great recommendations for restaurants.

My wife and I renewed our vows this weekend and our room was the perfect room with the view to celebrate our honeymoon. Everything in our room was great. The hotel is in a great location as it sits in the middle of everything we wanted to do during our stay!! Thank u BW!

The staff was incredibly unfriendly - didn't even direct me to my room or greet me when I arrived. The door to the balcony wouldn't lock, there was no included breakfast (unlike at most other Best Westerns).

Nice place to stay on the oregon coast. Went down with our dogs for the birthday we always try to find a best western. Nice hotel, there dog policy is very strict and full of fines if they pretty much do anything dogs will do so be careful of that

This was our second stay at the Agate Beach Inn and I look forward to my next stay with them. The front desk staff and Assistant Manager are amazing! Most of the rooms with oceanview are stunning. My family members had a room that was tucked away in the corner, but still had an oceanview; it wasn't 'as nice' of a view as they had last time but the room itself felt bigger and had a couch in it instead of two chairs. There is a path towards the beach, it's a bit of a walk and may be a bit more strenuous for individuals with disabilities to navigate (I have largely been lucky and have had good days), and, unless I am not aware of it or just completely overlooked it, I have not seen a wheelchair access to this part of the beach. The hotel itself, though, seems to be quite accessible with ramps and elevators and space to navigate. Breakfast is not included, although, the hotel does have a bistro on the first floor (accessible by stairs and I saw they have a lift within the bistro as well). The food is overall really good but can get quite expensive if this is the only place used to obtain food. Dinner options are relatively limited unless you enjoy seafood. The baked chicken was really good, but for $23 I had expected at least a few more vegetables and perhaps some rice or a side salad. The outdoor patio is cozy, but even with the heat from the fireplace can get quite chilly during the fall. We utilized room service for breakfast and next time I stay, I may choose this option again despite having spent $40 on breakfast - however, that is easily spent at McDonalds nowadays, too. The food was still hot when it came to the room and was good. Overall, I definitely recommend the hotel!

We usually stay at this BW when we are in Newport, the past several years they have been remodeling and it was fine, but a little rough. It is now complete and looking sharp, clean, and the rooms are very comfortable. The bed was really nice and actually comfy! The view was lovely and the service was very good.

We loved the gorgeous view from our room and the proximity to the beach. Very nice design inside too. The conference rooms were spacious and comfortable. All of the staff, from check-in to housekeeping, to food service, they were all outstanding!

The room and the entire hotel was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. The beach is basically at the hotels door step. They have a pool and an hot tub. The location is great! It's slightly tucked away to give it some privacy but also close enough to local bars and diners if you wish to adventure a little. They do have there own diner/ restaurant the sea glass with a cute fire pit and little fires at the outdoor tables. I'll definitely be booking a stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. If they are available make sure you book an ocean view room. The view is beautiful. The hotel and amenites were very nice, clean and well kept. The restaurant / lounge has an incredible view and beautiful patio wot a firepit at each table. The food is great. There is also a really nice large grass area along the paved sidewalk to the beach that includes an archway for photographs that uses the beach and ocean for a backdrop.

Great place but very busy. I wanted to utilize their hot tub but so many people were in it all day and evening without giving people turns. Rooms great, food is great can't complain other than the pool area.

The front desk is a bit over the whole customer service thing- however since that is part of the post-Covid hotel experience I will leave it at that statement. The biggest issue arises when you are at an event and the event goes to 530p. Check out is a noon, you have no where to go and the restroom is needed —the only public restrooms are by the conference rooms on the main beech level this means the few restrooms are in constant demand. Demand from the conference attendees, the restaurant patrons —the people coming in from the beech which may not be guests but it's easy access and who will question you. Needless to say for the price per night and inability to use the restroom at a paid event this is strong showstopper for me.

Great Best Western on the Oregon coast - don't miss this one if you are in Newport. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were a welcome amenity after a long drive. The restaurant has a great chef, the pork chop was perfection, as well as the chocolate torte with cherry chiffon creme. Staff was more than helpful and really appreciate the coffee in the lobby since we had to hit the road at 7:30 am.

The location was great and view from our window were beautiful! We went down to the bar and sat outside on the patio for a glass of wine and just enjoyed the view. The next morning we went for a walk on the beach and it was empty. Enjoyed our stay here.

We loved this hotel. There is a very peaceful vibe about this location. The ocean view room we had on the 5th floor was awesome. Watching the waves was relaxing. The room itself is very nice and recently renovated. This hotel changed my mind on the BW brand as I had no idea they had hotels of this caliber. I'm looking forward to having this option available to consider in other locations. Breakfast was a great deal, especially if you have kids who eat free. The yogurt here was the best we've ever had. Service in the restaurant was a little off for breakfast but no big deal.

This location is really a upscale hotel. The hotel is across from the ocean. Customer service A+++ There is a Restaurant on site reasonable price and very good. We have room service for our dinner. We have a breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice at the restaurant. We will stay here. Wish all best western hotel like this location.

The lady at the front desk was terrible downgraded our room and wouldn't allow me to ask questions to get the correct rate. i will not be staying at this best western ever again and ive stayed at many all over the united states worst experience by a long shot.

For anyone wanting a true oceanfront experience, this hotel may not fit the bill. First, the hotel is set back from the ocean quite a ways and it's a bit of a walk to get to the waves. Second, you can't sit out on the balcony because it's a 'juliette' style and therefore only about a foot and a half deep. We got off to a rocky start in that the room we were given smelled a little like deodorizer trying to mask pet odor (even though the room supposedly wasn't on a "pet floor"). No worries, we were quickly given another room on the same floor that was odor-free. Pros: 1) The bed was comfortable! 2) There was a bath/shower combo (vs. just a shower which is all you get in many of the newer hotels) 3) The room was spacious and well-equipped with coffee maker, microwave and fridge (and the fridge was quiet all night long) 4) Didn't hear other guests from the room 5) There was both a screen and glass slider so we could get fresh air and hear the sound of the ocean without allowing bugs in the room. 6) The pool was a decent size and there's a fitness center (but we didn't use them) Cons: 1) The issues mentioned above: farther from the water than other properties we've stayed at along the coast and it's a distant view. Also, if you're at the north end of the hotel part of your view will be of trees. 2) I was really bummed about not having a real balcony. I was looking forward to sitting out on an oceanfront balcony with my cup of coffee in the morning, but that's not possible at this hotel. They claim every room has a balcony, but that seems like false advertising. 3) On our last day, housekeeping ignored the "privacy, please" door hangar, went into our room to clean it, took the stuff we had in the fridge and put it in our cooler, and placed the cooler outside the door. Imagine our surprise when we returned to the room with our take-out breakfast to find we'd been checked-out without our permission. This happened well before check-out time. To management's credit, they offered some compensation for the inconvenience. More upsetting was the fact that housekeeping insisted there was no hangar on the door when there absolutely was.

I would still like it explained how a hotel bathroom could be "cleaned" but the staff not realize that the bathtub drain \\backed up as soon as water was run. Apparently the previous sentence is not allowed in a review.

it was centrally located so we could travel the whole coastal area and see what we wanted to see. the motel was clean and will cared for. if you are looking for a nice place to stay on the Oregon coast the won't cost you an arm and a leg this is it.

From the room to the food at the Sea Glass, who could ask for more?! Everything was top notch! We have never stayed in Newport before, we had only stayed in Lincoln City. I had decided to try another location for our get away, and was so happy I did. Friendly staff, great food, comfortable beds, and not to mention an amazing view! We have found our new hotel at the beach! Thank you!!

I get that rooms are higher priced, it's summer and weekend ok but $450 a night? We check in and the ammonia hits like a freight train as soon as the door opens. The side of the shower was covered in drawings in hair from the last guest. When a room change was requested they said they were booked full and said they would come clean the shower. The cleaning lady was very apologetic and said that was disgusting and would get us appetizer credits to the restaurant. And tried to spray enough cleaner to cover the smell. So we had a clean bathroom headache and just settled into bead and the fire alarm goes off and the hotel gets evacuated at 11:30pm (I get it, fire alarm you have to get out). Walk back into the after 30 min…wham! Dog pee smell right in the face again…a lot of money to pay for a stinky room for one night

The check-in staff seemed a little overwhelmed (probably due to understaffing). The tub drain was clogged and the inside of the door was very dirty. We had to move our check-in date up by one day (both dates, non-holiday weekdays) and were charged an extra $60.00. For the price we expected a little better.

Great location! It's as if you have a private beach or at least beach at your finger (or toe) tips. Very nice hotel. Everything is tastefully beach-y. Due to price of rooms, no continental breakfast, and style it feels more like a resort than a motel/hotel. Great pool and hot tub room. Plenty of room for multiple families and the wooden ceiling makes the acoustics manageable. I would say good for a splurge if you usually don't spend $300 a night and truly intend to spend a majority of your time at the beach or on site.

Location is amazing but the management and staff exceeded anything we've experienced staying anywhere else for the last few years. A cozy palace by the beach that even our kids say they love! Agate Plus goes above and beyond!

We always enjoy staying at the Best Western Agate Beach when we are up in the Newrport, Oregon area. The rooms are very clean, the food is great and there are a lot of anenities for all ages. The beach is close by for added fun.

Awesome location within walking distance to Agate Beach. Great view, great staff restaurant and lounge, clean and comfy rooms. Outdoor seating with fire pits and beach view really set the vacation atmosphere.

Having grandchildren I love little ones and their noises and messes but when I want a couple of days away at the beach I hope to have a few quiet hours. This is not the place for quiet. Noises travel through walls easily, the pool was full of kids during adult-only hours. At least they weren't in the bar! Otherwise a very nice hotel in a nice location.

Yes, they have an ocean view and a restaurant but are more than double the price of nicer BW hotels with a less friendly staff. One person at the desk was friendly. Breakfast costs extra, not included. This is a BWPlus. Our BW in Florence, Oregon gave us a better room, excellent breakfast, river view, upgraded larger room because of my BW Rewards status and was very friendly.

This hotel is a gem. Beautiful location on the ocean front. Very attractive, updated decor and the rooms are very clean and well furnished. This hotel is more upscale than I expected. I look forward to staying there again.

Nice hotel. staff was very helpful with reservations. We were driving and looking for a place to stay. Was able to get it a little cheaper using our AAA membership. just a one night stay but enjoyed the hot tub before check out at 12.

The hotel was clean and well staffed. My experience with staff was positive. My bed was amazingly comfortable and the climate control in the room was perfect. And it was right on a beautiful beach! We will definitely stay here again!

rooms were small in comparison to a couple other stays up the coast. also bathroom door is a sliding barn door style with no apparent lock. with 5 kids it was quite the challenge for any comfort. not worth it for beach access which was a considerable factor for the stay.

I take this trip every year and stay at the Agate Beach Best Western Plus every time. First time having dinner at the Bistro downstairs and it was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Newport.

The view of the ocean is amazing, very easy to get to. The rooms were very quiet and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our toilet and after a call to the front desk there was a gentleman there to fix it within minutes.

Our stay was very pleasant. We found the room to be clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable. The staff was very nice and made a noticeable effort to ensure that our stay was good. We would definitely stay there again.

This hotel property charges way too much for what you get. The treadmill was not working, the spa was closed and the room was not well equipped. The rooms were not in the best condition and this property should charge half of what they do. If you have a pet they charge $50/night. They also stated that if your dog barks and someone complains you could be charged $200.

Spouse & I stayed 3 nights, 4 days on a coastal getaway. Clean, comfortable, superior ocean views, easy beach access, cordial staff, the fastest hotel elevator we've ever used, speedy wi-fi, complimentary newspaper, an indoor pool that has water warm enough for me. (That's a huge compliment.). The concerns: Housekeeping didn't empty wastebaskets one day or pick up used coffee cups a different day. Hand/body lotion tubes weren't replenished one day. Coffeepot stopped working after 2 days. Coffee was available in lobby, so that wasn't a huge issue. We were given coupons for 2 “bottled” (they're in boxes like milk) waters, but even one bottle per day for 2 guests to share would be helpful. I understand hotels are trying to bounce back from 2 awful years & are facing inflation/ increased costs. Breakfast is not provided & we didn't eat at the restaurant.

Fire alarm went off after my disabled dad was asleep & he had to evacuate the 6th floor with limited mobility. Front desk refused to provide any concession. Room and location were great. Staff not so much

This facility is beautiful with great ocean views. There are plenty of places inside and outside to sit and enjoy beach view, including fire pits. There is easy access to the beach. The hotel restaurant is good and great access to other restaurants in the area.

Hands down the Best Hotel my wife and I have ever experienced with both of us traveling extensively during our working careers (she 20 years as Flight Attendant and myself as a Senior Manager for a worldwide company). The beds were very comfortable with your choice of hard or soft pillows. Room amenities included to nice chairs for enjoying the view, internet, TV microwave, coffee and fridge.

Ocean side rooms worth extra expense! Open the glass door, pull up a chair. The action of the waves and ocean roar lets your mind ride the rolling sea. Room clean. Easy parking and hotel entrance. Warning, no free breakfast and breakfast prices steep. Many food options nearby.

The staff is great! If you enjoy swimming the indoor pool is a MUST visit. The views are spectacular. The rooms were clean and well latex out. The dining available on site was delicious! My Mother's Day spent with kids and grandkids will be unforgettable and I attribute that to all the things my family got to enjoy while we were at this Best Western Agate Beach location. It was an anniversary stay. We loved the view and staff were so friendly. We ate at the restaurant and it was good and average prices. Clean and all worked. A little bit of wear in places but still very nice.

We had an amazing time at this location. It is a great location, super close to the beach (walking distance), but on the outskirts of Newport so still a quiet location. Swimming pool was good, restaurant on site with good, with good food and a really cool outside eating area. The rooms are okay, nothing fancy, but decent. Will stay here again.

The weekend I stayed at the hotel was absolutely beautiful. From the sunset over the ocean to the easy access of the sky bridge from parking lot to hotel. All the employees were kind and friendly. They even have places to watch the ocean that are not in the rooms. The restaurant food was excellent. Though they don't serve lunch. The meals were excellent. Rooms were clean. I had an ocean front room and the view was amazing. Could even see the lighthouse. All and all a great stay

Hotel has great beach views and beach access. Room clean but warm at night to sleep. Bonus to open slider to hear waves and birds. Sea Glass restaurant has fun outdoor fire pits and beautiful sunset views. Services a bit slow and food ok, the views steal the show. Easy hotel parking. Indoor pool strong smell of chlorine and packed with kids. There's adult swim in late evenings.

Attended a business conference here. Rooms were clean (although smoke smell lingers even after all these years - can't do anything about that...), and spacious. Quest, and had an ocean view. Food was managed by the hotel and was good given mass-production. Staff was very helpful and made the experience pleasant. Would be a great vacation hotel.

This hotel right on Agate Beach was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Having the beach right out the doors was great for traveling with pets. We loved the bed, so comfortable!! Although we didn't dine there it was a nice option to order room service if you chose. Check out is at noon which we really appreciated.

One of the best. Recently updated and it was done beautifully, The whole hotel experience was delightful! We had two wonderful breakfasts and then the dinner was even more wonderful! Spent three days celebrating a 88th birthday!! We'll definitely come back…and soon!

I booked this trip over the phone with Best Western agent. I told her I needed dog accommodation. When I checked in, the cost was over $100 more than the confirmation. I tried to dispute the extra amount, but the desk clerk was very curt, said I should have known…extra fee is not noted on the booking…and if I didn't like it, I could go elsewhere! Very unhelpful and really kind of nasty about it.

Hotel was good. Staff was all very friendly. Room was nice. Location and proximity to the beach was great. Biggest disappointment was the restaurant. Again staff was very friendly and helpful. But the food was laughable.

We stayed for three nights and either they were understaffed or lacking in awareness. We had to ask the front desk for regular amenities and they were out of most regular stuff (coffee cups, hot tea etc). Large puddle of water directly in front of the front desk they were clueless about. Hallways were littered with room service trays for hours. We were there for a wedding and had to dodge trays to get downstairs to the event in our formal clothing without getting hallway food on it. Not worth the price. Won't be returning

Disappointed with the room we received. No view except parking lot. Room was not very clean, lots of dirt pushed into the corners of the bathroom floors and countertops. Shower wouldn't drain. Coffee wasn't not made often enough in the morning, it was empty most of the morning and front desk staff was huffy about getting more coffee and creamer

We had such a great time while staying here. It's a short walk to the beach. Great views from the ocean front rooms. The onsite restaurant had great food staff was super friendly. The only downside was that the lobby espresso bar was closed the whole time we were here and the 4th floor ice machine had very visible mold in it. But I will definitely stay here again.

First time to stay at the Agate Beach Inn. It was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at the Sea Glass Restaurant and the food was excellent and the wait person was amazing. I would highly recommend staying here.

There are very heavy “barn doors” to access the bathrooms in the rooms. Children cannot open or close them, elderly would have a difficult time too. We brought our dog and we threatened with fines if he basically acted like a dog, then they put us next to a family with smal children who were shrieking well into the night and early morning.

we had a great room with a great view and it was very quiet. the breakfast was very good and we had a nice view there as well. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They were doing some road work outside but even the road crew went out of there way to let us have a way into the parking area

Husband and I took a road trip down the coast and stayed one night at Agate Beach Best Western. It was a good hotel, amazing beach, good location, clean, helpful front desk staff. For ease we ate at the restaurant at the hotel, meal was good, not spectacular but the view was amazing. Parking was plentiful, wifi worked great. Outside fire pit was a treat in the evening as the sun was setting.

Hotel is an updated and comfortable hotel. Rooms are generous sized. I stayed in a king room. Bed was very comfortable. The internet was excellent and what I needed for work. The staff was helpful and friendly.

We paid a little more than we usually do to stay here but it was worth every penny. Hotel is in an amazing location with access to a perfect walking beach. Sunset views were spectacular. The hotel is clean modern and the rooms are a good size. Beds comfortable. I only gave it a 4 out of 5 because the restaurant that is in the hotel is convenient and the staff try hard but the food is hit and miss. Breakfast came out cold. Supper meal was fatty and fish overcooked. They need a food runner as the serving staff are busy and food sits. Not good. They do have nice ocean views and fire tables outside. Nice touch.

We were able to book last minute & got a room with an amazing ocean view. The best part of our stay was the ease of mind we got from the room cleanliness. The pool/restaurant & firepits made our stay extra fun!

Live in Beaverton & took a friend visiting to Newport area. One if our favorite places! Had a good experience/stay before & stayed again. I would definitely recommend Agate Best Western to anyone visiting the area.

Best place to stay! We loved it. Super clean shower and all. No free breakfast but many places in town to get food. Comfortable bed very large tv, nice furniture. Later check out was nice as well. I wish we had more days to stay!!!

Got to the hotel, got checked into a room that wasn't ready yet and dirty. Moved us to another room, gave us breakfast vouchers. Second day there, ordered room service and it never came so we called the kitchen and they said it was still in the works. It showed up and they said it was free of charge and on them but it was the wrong food…

We enjoyed our stay, room was clean and ready for upon arrival. Pool and hot tub were also great. Stuff was friendly and and helpful. Good views of the ocean. Great beach access and convenient to shopping.

The staff is amazing except one old lady thats the manager who looks like she hates the world. I believe she judged me by my age thinking I cant afford to be staying in a nice hotel because im young. Completely would cut my sentences off if I asked questions

The restaurant was delicious and was charming. The hotel room was very clean but was decorated like an office. No fireplace either. Also, there were dirty towels and bedding outside the room across from us for our entire stay.

We spent 1 night at the agate beach Inn. Besides the wonderful weather the hotel was great. Rooms were very inviting and decorated very tastefully. Our view on the 6th floor couldn't have been better. We were there on a week day so parking was really easy and check in was quick. Room service was great and fast. Everyone was super friendly. Pet set up was great. I slept like a baby on the bed husband didn't sleep so great. Room very quiet. Everything was perfect expect for one thing. Brand of coffee they use is not good. Had to drive to starbucks. We had a REALLY WONDERFUL TRIP. Usually my biggest concern is the cleanliness of a room. This one gets a A+.

The view is beautiful, especially from the higher floors. The rooms are great, we love the ocean view with the mini balcony. All of the staff are very friendly. The beds are the best, they are super comfy! If you book early the prices are way better.

This room has an amazing rom that overlooked the beach. When we woke up the whole place was white and snowing. What a way to spend the day after Christmas! They also take extra care to make sure your pets are comfortable. I really enjoyed the tags you hang on the door to let people know there is a dog in the room.

Great location, easy beach access, lovely hotel, I will stay there again. I didn't take advantage of the on-site restaurant on my one night stay. But I did hit the coffee bar, the pastries were delicious. My grandkids loved the pool. I loved tge hot tub.

Loved staying at the Best Western Agate Beach Inn. Longtime loyal customer to this particular hotel. It is very convenient for walks on the beach. I always book an Ocean view room and love the unobstructed view and salt air. (Floor to Ceiling Slider). Restaurant and fitness room all onsite.

Lovely view, pet friendly, rules do not apply to all.lobby coffee available until 10:30 a.m. amenities charged to room, can not pay with Cash or card for service, food to go from restaurant, lobby store. Payment for food ect. Payed when checked out was billed a second time although disputed only received partial refund.

Rooms were spacious and very quiet. Did not hear any neighbor noises. Would definitely Stay again. Beds were very comfortable. Room was in good repair. Nice to have a restaurant on-site. Pets were allowed and a number were in attendance.

Beautiful/well maintained property.!! Sorry I did not catch the name of the lady at the front desk. She was friendly, thorough and communicative. Gave advice for easier access to room via parking options. Terrific view from the 5th floor. Easy access to beach. Room was well appointed and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. The only negative I have to make is the "Bistro" for breakfast was very cool almost cold temperature wise. Had to go to the room for a jacket. They opened at 7:30 and we arrived at 7:35 - they needed to start the portable heaters earlier. Food was tasty and service was good.

We love it here. The hotel is beautiful and modern and clean. The staff is the best and the pool is heated and beautiful. We come often and Te always happy. We bring our pup and because we are Gold members we often get upgraded to ocean view rooms. It's the best.

I was at the Best Western Plus at Agate Beach for a Conference, and we were all so pleased with the staff, the food, the accommodations. Very clean and comfortable, lovely views of the ocean and the lighthouse, wonderful place. If I come to the coast again, this is my go-to place.

Stayed here for one night for my husband's birthday, food was good but waitress kept forgetting everything, exercise equipment needed to be fixed in the fitness center, sheets looks like they hadn't been changed, staff was very rude and overcharged us. Not a quiet or peaceful place.

Large heated indoor pool & jacuzzi were clean & well cared for. Rooms are large & clean. Great view of the Pacific ocean. Close to town without being right in traffic noise Nice restaurant & small clean workout room

The hotel was amazingly decorated with a great coastal atmosphere, big pool, interesting cat walk, wonderful ocean views, easy to get around accessibility, great lounge and restaurant with a variety of options.

Super friendly, efficient staff. We stayed 8 nights and got a discounted price. Beds were comfortable, hotel clean and quiet. The indoor pool was a perfect 88 degrees. The walk to the beach is easy. The restaurant is nice, ocean views are great from restaurant and the room.

There was bloody finger prints on my bedsheets that went unnoticed until the next day. Colleague and I checked to make sure it wasn't us and found no cuts or blood on ourselves. Looked very dry and stained in the sheets so my guess is maid had a cut on their fingertips while making the bed.

We truly enjoy our stay. Having a restaurant and lounge on site and beach access made the stay more than enjoyable. We will come again and stay two nights. We would have appreciated the front desk staff informing us of the restaurant and the beach access.

Great spot steps from the beach. We stayed for 3 nights. Would highly recommend. There is a fridge and a microwave in the room. We had a view of the ocean from our 3rd floor room. The gym is ok, only 3 machines and they are old. It is dog friendly! Nice fire pit on the property as well.

I have stayed at this Hotel 3 different times and it is wonderful. It was nice to see the recent update in décor. The place is very clean, stylish and up to date. The food is good although I think the menu could be updated. The pool is fabulous and so is the view.

Let me state up front that we really like staying at Best Westerns. They usually feel warm and homey. I have to admit this one really threw me. It was like having a Manhattan hotel set right on the coast. It felt stiff and formal. Our room was painted grey which, on this cloudy day, contributed to a sense of gloom. The staff at reception were warm and efficient. We checked out scratching our heads, wondering who approved its design.

This hotel is amazing. Resturant close for dinning. Our room overlooked the ocean. The bedding was comfortable. The room was clean. All of the staff was awsome. The breakfast had great choices. Much more that any other hotel we stayed in.Best stay on our whole trip down 101!!

We had a nice family visit with my in-laws for a couple nights. Nice clean rooms, close to the beach. In-house restaurant was severely understaffed. Breakfasts were pretty good and reasonably priced. Server was wonderful and entertaining. But one evening we stopped in fir a before-dinner drink and was greeted at a totally empty lounge with a surely "do you have a reservation?"

This is a large, well-run Best Western. Room was spacious with a comfortable bed. If you are paying for an ocean view room, be sure to ask for a room on the south end so that you can see the lighthouse. Good free coffee in the morning. Be aware that there are no balconies that you can sit on to watch the ocean waves.

This is a Best Western and expected a moderate facility and service. Boy was I surprised. This hotel is world class and I've stayed in those. From the check-in, our room, service, dining, and check-out were performed by a high performing world class team. I am very critical of hotels when they don't live up to expectations, but this Best Western exceeded every expectation I had. It was a real pleasure to stay at the Best Western Plus Agate Beach. All of this greatness at a very reasonable price.

The staff here is amazing, respectful and helpful. Very peaceful setting, with wonderful views. Pet friendly! The beds are the most comfortable. The ONLY thing I would like better is a balcony for sitting at this hotel. We have never stayed at a Best Western that was less than amazing!

The bathroom door is a barn style door with a huge gap, no privacy and didn't lock. The partial view was one out of three windows the other two were blocked off for the elevator. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff were great. Privacy in the bathroom is super important and the window situation was ridiculous. $350 a night. Too expensive for the quality and room experience. These rooms should be significantly discounted due to the window being blocked off for the elevator.

Loved every minute at this hotel. It is right on the beach and very quiet. Room 618 on the 6th floor was awesome with gorgeous view!!! Staff were so happy to welcome us and went above and beyond to make us comfortable!

The bed was extremely comfortable, room was clean, and decor was updated! Only downsides were no shampoo or conditioner and no continental breakfast. You can't beat the beach access, though! We definitely would stay here again!

Very nice hotel with easy access to a great beach. Nice restaurant with limited hours. The property seems secluded even though it is right off the highway and next door to the Walmart. We will probably return to this hotel.

Great place to stay. Short walk to the beach. On site restaurant with very good food! Okay prices for the room considering it's summer and COVID crazy. Will be back with out question. Evenings were nice with the patio areas and the heated propane fire pit.

The front desk was very helpfull getting me checked in. Ample parking was easy to find and not far from my room and right next to Walmart. The room was very clean and spacious. I loved the view. Great overall experience. I will definitely come back with my family.

We were amazed at this beautiful Best Western Inn. We ordinarily prefer to book Marriotts or Hiltons, but will look at Best Western Plus Hotels in the future! Large room, gorgeous ocean view, beautifully and luxuriously decorated, and the restaurant was excellent.

Last minute change put us in a room on the lobby/driveway side instead of with a beach view that I had chosen when I booked with Expedia. We were trying to be helpful to the hotel staff by allowing them to change our room, to accommodate some other guests, and it was disappointing to say the least that being helpful took us out of our beach view room to the noisy lobby side without even a thank you for our trouble. There is no continental breakfast right now, even though it is advertised as having it, so don't book here counting on that to help save money. The hotel restaurant is very expensive. Room was fine but didn't seem so clean. The phone was dirty, carpet stained and toilet dirty. The screen door didn't lock to the little balcony, the sliding door is the only “window” that opens,so we weren't able to leave it open for fresh air because it wasn't safe for our 2 year old. Beds were comfortable, maid and staff were very nice. Just a so so visit though, especially at the price.

We stayed at Agate beach best western plus for the second time . It was just as good as the first . Nice spacious rooms . Great restaurant food . We had 3 dinners : different excellent entree each time . Staff very friendly. Hotel right on a beautiful wide Long Beach . We walked miles on the beach each day . Back again next year for sure

We traveled with our 2 dogs and they were very accommodating. Put us on the top floor so we could easily access the sky bridge to let our dogs out. It was my partner's birthday and the ambience gave it a very celebratory feeling.

Stayed with a group for a wedding and reception held at Best Western Agate Beach. We made our reservation 6 months in advance and told the reservation person, we are staying with the wedding group. We werent given the group rate and our group was not even on the same floor, we were spread out across all floors, which made getting ready the day of the wedding a bit choatic. The food at recption was good, however we were given HALF a slice of prime rib, including the groom who asked for a bigger piece and was told NO. and no gravy for the mashed potatoes.

The location is great, the pool is nice and so is the outdoor seating/fire place. This place could use some refreshing but I like it overall. There is a Walmart literally right next door. The have a reasturant on sight and a coffee bar in the mornings.

We had a horrible problem with housekeeping and the upkeep of our rm during our weeklong stay. Every day they turned the thermostat down to 60 degrees so the rooms were freezing when we returned. Someone charged room service to our room and we would have had to pay for it had I not caught the change in room price from when we checked in. Went out to enjoy the fire pit only to find people out there smoking weed around it. Feel like it's a little too pricy for what you get.

The room would have been really good except they replaced a bathroom door with a barn style door on a track. The door would not rest up against the wall as it should and was about 2 inches away from the door casing. You could see, with full view, the person sitting on the toilet in the bathroom! You could also HEAR and SMELL the person in the bathroom as if there wasn't a door at all. The carpet was pretty dirty in the room and it was filthy in the hall. They let dogs into the motel and there was dog hair in big wads all over the halls and in front of the elevators. They don't keep people with pets in their own area of the motel, so if you don't like dogs and their messes, this isn't a good place. If you don't like dogs or being growled at in the halls and elevators, you probably don't want to stay here.

This hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly. Also the restaurant is quite good (ate both breakfast and dinner during our stay and both were excellent). Note that you can't really use the beach here - it's in a location where the wind is so strong it's almost impossible to take a walk. Also, there is no free breakfast buffet as with other Best Westerns. My sense is the price varies tremendously.

It is a very nice hotel. It feels secluded gem with great ocean view and beach access! Friendly and helpful staff. It has a great restaurant with good food. Has a nice coffee stand in-house. Close to a lot of fun activities.

If you want to stay where a mystery poop odor comes from dirty underwear hidden in your bathroom and receive extra charges days after you check out that take another 4-5 days to be resolved, this is the place for you.

I stayed at the Best Western Agate Beach for a conference and then turned it into a fun trip by staying an extra night. The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly. I had a fabulous experience and will absolutely stay here again the next time I stay in Newport.

The view is amazing with the lighthouse and ocean! Staff is wonderful. If you can AFFORD it, stay here, but call first if you want to swim in the pool or go in the hot tub! The 4th floor we stayed in originally was leaking water from the bathroom fan! Look around if you get on that floor!

What a disappointment. My go to for the Oregon Coast is BW at Face Rock. Great place. Great value. We tried the BW in Newport at Agate Beach. Their rate was higher than Face Rock. So I expected better. The lobby was nice. The hallways were nice. The rooms were ok. I knew there wouldn't be breakfast included going in. What I didn't expect was the housekeeping crew talking loudly to each other down the hall, letting the doors to the rooms slamming closed. All before 10 am. So much for professionalism and allowing some of their guests, me, from sleeping in. After all I was on vacation. Then trying to follow the covid rules, one family at a time in the elevator... Not once but TWICE, housekeeping staff came into the elevator while I was in there with my family. Wow! And to top it off, the room was not clean. There was hair and sand in the tub. The sliding door to the bathroom was dirty. Not to mention there was quite the gap between the door and the wall. Not much bathroom privacy. I wouldn't stay there again. I didn't mind the higher normal price that didn't include breakfast. What I did mind is the higher price when unprofessional staff and a dirty room. Stay at your own risk. I'm sure there are better places to stay and once I find then, I will let you know. P. S. I'm a die hard Best Western guy, so this was extra disappointing.

The hotel restaurant wait staff was grossly un-trained, apparently understaffed, and un-attentive. If you like SLOW to non-existent service and cold food, this is the place to go. The rooms themselves were fine but do not expect much with respect to room cleaning if staying more than one night.

what a wonderful stay. The room was large and lovely. The view was excellent. At night we left the sliding door open and screen closed to hear the ocean...so relaxing. Had a delicious breakfast in the dining room, crab-gruyere omelet. Dinner at the bar in the dining room. Excellent service from Washa and fresh & tasty crab - bay shrimp salad. Customer service was exceptional. We will be back.

Great write up done by arrianamarie19 which mimics our very same visit experience. Very expensive for 2 beds with a view. No pool, room with one very uncomfortable chair, food and force bar expensive, too many pets..no place to sit to enjoy the purchased view. Yes, would have rebooked another place to stay, but everything booked and we would have lost our money. Don't recommend this place.

Love this place. Super clean, friendly and inviting staff members. Really happy with our stay. Pool was out of order which I'm assuming due to covid but still was advertised as being available. Great place to have your dogs on the grounds and they are allowed to be on the beach but as always PICK UP after them. Also they advertise as being the only hotel with AC but ours didn't work. It stayed at 74 the entire time. Not happy about that

I am in love with this hotel. Sooo beautiful. It was so hard to go home! The view from the top floor was amazing and I loved the decor & employees were great, even the restaurant was good! So worth every penny!

What a beautiful hotel! Our room had a hillside view which was fine, but I understand that the ocean front is where it's at! Our room was clean, the fire tables outside were great as it is was cloudy and windy during our stay. The ocean is a short walk on the beach literally out the back door of the property. The restaurant had great fish fry! I wish we had more than one day to spend here!

Hotel was in a prime location, family and pet friendly, and great affordable price point for the best overall package of view, things to do, beach access, location to other activities. Staff were professional and friendly.

Amazing place to stay. I stayed here with family during our travel from california to seattle. This is a hidden gem. Right on the beach, fantastic views from the room, spacious and clean rooms, very collaborative staff, all facilities nearby.

For the price to stay at this property I expect no less than a thoroughly cleaned room. Surprise! Dirty bath cloths hanging on the shower curtain in the bathroom. I cautiously removed them and placed them on the floor out of the way. When I contacted the front desk about it, I received a casual "I apologize for that" and that was it. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable, but as far as I'm concerned, there is no excuse for this poor housekeeping. After all, if something as obvious as this was missed, what else in the room got missed? Perhaps new bed linens? Just saying. Anyway, this isn't the first time I was disappointed in a Best Western property, but it'll most likely be the last time. You won't see me here anymore.

Sliding barn doors on the bathroom, and surly, ungracious employees at the check-in counter, and no complimentary breakfast—- even though you are spending more for your room than at other Best Westerns!—- makes for an unpleasant and unremarkable stay. There are a lot of other hotels on the beach at Newport, OR. Pick another one.

The hotel was nice however, there were a few issues with our stay. To start, during check-in, they tried charging me $200 more than what I had quoted when I set up my reservation. The gentleman at the front said that it was impossible to have that rate. I showed him the email that I received from Best Western and he still insisted that was an inaccurate price. That issue was resolved and the quoted price was honored however. The next issue was that the fridge was turned off when we got there so it had to be turned on and cooled down before we could put any food in it safely. I've never had a hotel do this, and it was a major inconvenience. Thirdly, any time the microwave was used, the breaker would pop. This was a known issue because when we called the front desk, they said it happens a lot and we have to take the microwave out of the cubby and press the reset button. Again, a major inconvenience. Another inconvenience we ran into was the entrance door for the hotel from the parking lot did not work. And last but not least, the hotel pool was closed for renovations. If they had disclosed this when I made reservations, I would have chose a different hotel. It may not seem like a big issue however this was the first vacation we took our daughter on, and among other things, she was super excited to swim in the hotel pool. We made our reservations only a week before the stay, so there should have been no issue disclosing the pool closure. Oh and I forgot to mention that they said our room would be cleaned daily (with the exception of making the bed due to COVID), but it was cleaned once and the only thing done was the trash taken out. We ran out of toilet paper as well as soaps. Not a big issue but an inconvenience to go to the front desk to get hygiene supplies that should have been refilled. In all, the vacation was fun and we didn't spend much time at the hotel, but when we did we ran into a bunch of inconveniences.

This property has outstanding views from the ocean-side rooms. They are more expensive but worth it. The problem is it is overrun with pets. E.g., there is a bridge that is the only way to access the parking lot. The dogs even take a dump on the bridge. The rooms reasonably well maintained if you don't mind a barn door leading to the bathroom, but the dogs have chewed through the baseboard leaving it frayed and ripped. We acknowledge that people now have dogs instead of children, but they need to leave them at the kennel when they travel. We always did when we had dogs and children. Hotels such as Best Western need to stop encouraging this conduct.

We love staying at the Agate Beach! We have stayed for business trips and pleasure trips with our kids and dog. We love the short walk to the beach and the view from our room was amazing. The firepit on the property is awesome.

The hotel is very nice. Being right on the coast was wonderful. The pool was nice and it was pleasant to have the fewer number of people in the pool area at one time so scheduling was nice. The breakfast was very good. Beds were very comfortable.

Great place to stay. It was a welcomed spot after coming from up north after a few days. The whole property is really clean and comfy. The laundry was credit card operated and did a good job. The restaurant was affordable and the location is great!

We were driving past Newport on the way to Seattle. This was a good location to stay at because it was a walking distance to the beach and Walmart. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Wished we had more time to explore the area.

Everything was good, restaurant was super accommodating for our large family group of 9. The downfall was our pool experience we made reservations at 9 the only time left. At I guess 10 there came a guy yelling at us as if he had told us 10 times the pool was closing. No advance just angry yelling that the pools closed you need to get out. It was frankly a little scary and very uncomfortable. If he's that angry about his job maybe he needs to find a different place to work.

My wife and I just concluded a wonderful 3 night stay here. Our 6th floor room had a beautiful view of the beach and Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Beach access is only steps away, the rooms and all areas inside and out are super clean, and the on premises restaurant is upscale and delicious. We strongly suggest spending the extra money and getting an ocean view room...the view is just so perfect. The property is really close to a lot of conveniences, but feels very secluded and quiet when you are there.

Room was very nice. Excellent price. Location was great. The ability to have access to the beach directly was definitely a plus. Would have love to try the restaurant since the menu looks great but we had to leave early

The rooms and the rest of the hotel were very clean and spotless. The bed was very comfortable unlike most hotels. The restaurant was expensive so didn't eat there, and no complimentary breakfast includedin our stay, otherwise would have been 5 stars all around.

Beautiful hotel & view & its in a great location but a nearby dog barked morning & night even after I reported it so we didn't get much sleep. We paid way too much to have to listen to a barking dog & not get to sleep in on vacation.

My husband and I loved our stay here. We had a beautiful view of Agate Beach. Beautifully furnished room and hotel. Very clean and great service.Will definitely stay there again on a return trip to Newport!

A friend and I stayed here in order to watch the lunar eclipse from the beach. The staff were lovely and personable and never batted an eye when we went tramping through the lobby at 3:30 am on our way down to the beach — and were genuinely excited to listen to us rave about it when we came slogging back through at 4:30, this time tracking sand over the clean floor. This is not the first time I've stayed at this BW location, and will definitely not be the last.

Our room was perfect (with the exception of some hiccups with housekeeping). Great view of ocean AND sliding door allowed the sound of the surf to be our vacation soundtrack. Lindy & Andrea were awesome! Would definitely stay here again, but would check on room location to verify it isn't on the lobby floor. Smell of chlotine from the pool was overpowering. They resolved this for us, but in the future I woulkd check first.

I stood in line for (20+) minutes to receive the pool key for my (45minute) pool reservation, and by the time it was my turn in line “Andrea” the receptionist told me, that I only had 15 minutes to spend with my family in the pool! I was so angry, being the fact that I chose this hotel and paid $300 for one night mainly for the pool. My child was very excited to have some pool time and that just defeated the whole purpose of choosing this hotel.

Found someone else's underwear under the sink in bathroom. Hotel did nothing about this. They just looked surprised and didn't offer to even go get them. We didnt touch them and hopefully they will remove them when they clean the room for the next guests.

This was my first time traveling with my pet. Best Western did a great job and was very accommodating. The room had a great view of the ocean and we enjoyed our stay. Be sure to book ahead as this location is very popular. We will visit again. Thank you.

All aspects of our conference were expertly handled by the Agate Beach Inn hotel staff. The wait staff for two lunches and a banquet were efficient and friendly. If we needed anything, the General Manager and Director of Sales took care of it right away.

Property is very nice and right on the beach. Staff was very pleasant and rooms were spotless clean. This is a great property to stay at as your 1/4 mile from the town of Newport with tons of stores and shops.

I discovered this hotel almost 20 years ago; it is perfect to bring your pet. The bistro/restaurant is great, room service is always an option, and the scenery--especially from the top floors--can't be compared anywhere. I love that the upper parking lot connects to the hotel with a sky bridge; my dog used to run across and wait in front of the elevator. Agate Beach is amazing to walk on, awesome for flying kites, too.

They didn't have my reservation and the sliding door from the parking lot to our floor was broken. The staff was very accommodating, considering the circumstances, but they could've offered me a discount/ something free to make up for the inconvenience. Despite the issues, the restaurant had good food and the service by the wait staff was exceptional! The ocean view room was worth the extra cost and the proximity to the beach was great!!

The hotel was over all nice! We had myself, husband and son with 2 of our dogs. The room was pretty clean. The staff was very nice. The beds were horrible for me personally, however I have a very bad back so I think this is just a personal issue and there is nothing wrong with them, they were just very soft in our room. I liked how close we were to the exit on the 6th floor so i could take my younger dog out at night.

The front desk staff is welcoming. Beds are comfortable. Room decor is bright, with ocean themes. Housekeeping staff is willing to answer any questions. Ocean view rooms offer lovely sunset views of the ocean.

This Best Western Plus at Agate Beach provided a Good bang for the buck and lots of rooms with Ocean View at a decent price. Attentive staff and small restaurant in the lobby. Clean, sizable rooms. I would stay here again if I were in the area.

Such a nice hotel, beach access is good, hotel has great amenities! I've always wanted to stay here and it exceeded my expectations! Great food, parking was great with skybridge access. Recently remodeled and it shows.

We wanted to go to the coast to relax. This is a Best Western Plus and the Plus does mean something. The rooms were apparently renovated in 2018. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view and spent time looking at the Lighthouse and enjoying the sunsets. Front desk staff were very nice. We had the option to have housekeeping services or defer which I appreciated. There's a restaurant onsite and room service. In room, there is a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The bathroom is a bit small but the room itself is good size. The sound insulation is decent. The back of the hotel faces the beach. There's a crosswalk and traffic is fairly light. There's a hose station for cleaning off. It's a dog friendly hotel and we saw several during our stay. They even have bags and a disposal station for doggie outings. There's even a gas fire pit in the back. The beach is nicely walkable. It's flat. We found sand dollars and clam shells. It was a relaxing stay and we can't wait to come back.

This is a nice hotel property. Rooms are nice, clean and generally well maintained. We had a 6th floor (top) room, which had amazing views. It was wonderful to pull up the table and chairs to have a nice meal overlooking the beach and sunset. There is a decent restaurant on site, although it has weird hours (covid?) so we had to order out or go out for lunch regularly. There is also a nice firepit that overlooks the beach in a nice sanded area with comfortable charis. Enjoyed that at sunset and even just to relax during the late afternoon. We saw the pool, which was decent. They have a fitness center as well. which was decent too - the equipment was a little older, but in good shape. Staff was friendly, responsive and generally helpful. Parking is in an upper parking lot, but they have a 6th floor skybride that takes you to the top floor of the hotel, so pretty convenient. There isn't a lot within short walking distance, but there was a walmart next door, which was helpful. There is also a safeway, Fred Meyer (w/Starbucks) and a family restaurant that was walkable. Definitely easy to drive to most places in town. All in all a good stay and I would definitely stay again for the location and views

This location gives instant access to the beach and very friendly service. Upper floors have view of lighthouse. Had an excellent time on a trip that was supposed to be for business but was by evening a quiet getta way

This place has a great location with easy beach access. The restaurant/lounge has great seating and the food, drinks and prices are very reasonable. Rooms were clean and well put together. Overall value was superb.

Honestly, we wish we could have stayed longer. We both looked at each other as we were checking out and said, "We don't want to leave! We should have booked another night." The view was superb and very relaxing of the ocean right out the window. It was up and away from all of the noise. The parking and skybridge worked perfectly for parents with a toddler hauling things back and forth from the car. It was so close to the beach! You literally just walk across the street and it's right there! The rooms were great. They seemed very newly decorated. It smelled like cleaner (which actually I don't really like, but hey at least it's clean right?). We even had our own little balcony which my two year old loved! The front desk lady was the sweetest ever. I believe her name was Lindy. I was visibly shaking and ill from getting car sick on the drive over when I checked in, but she wasn't phased at all by it and was super sweet! We had a lovely time and hope to come back again soon.

Great view of light house plus ocean. Nice clean rooms and comfortable beds, also the pool area is very nice. Dining is a pleasure morning, noon or night the food is good and the price is fair. The happy hour is fun.

Oh my This is the best place to stay Best Western Plus Agate Beach You just do not find a hotel like this every day. So very CLEAN. Pets allowed in all rooms. I couldn't tell at all. This is our 4th visit. We will be back

We stayed on the 6th floor. Everything from the check out process, to the room service, to the skywalk out to the pet area and parking was great. We enjoyed the ocean view, the bed was comfy and we slept well, and LOVED the easy access to the beach and food when hungry. Definitely will recommend!

The Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn is a lovely hotel very close to the beach with a lovely view of th ed ocean and sunsets as well as the Agate Beach Wayside. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A little expensive but worth a little TLC.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It is a very short walk to the beach. My wife thought Agate Beach was one of the better beaches along the coast for walking and exercising. We were on the 4th floor facing the ocean. The view was really nice. The sliding door opens up to a small (18") ledge with hand railing. Not enough to go sit out there, but enough to feel the breeze and hear the ocean. The room was standard Best Western. The beds were comfortable and the room was good sized. This Best Western does not supply a free breakfast in the morning. They have a restaurant on the premises were you can go for breakfast. I don't know how good it is because it was closed during our stay. We went to the grocery store and brought back food to put in the fridge for breakfast. My wife loved the place and wants tom go back next time we go to the coast. I was disappointed with some of the service. The staff seemed somewhat confused over several issues. When we checked in on Sunday we were told the restaurant was open for breakfast and the time. When we got to the room we looked at the menu they provided and it said they were only open Thursday through Sunday. When I called the desk I was told that they closed it down because of covid and they could only seat up[ to 25% capacity, but yet they said they would be open 4 days at the end of the week. We were also told we could order over the phone and get the food packaged to take back to the room. I found it hard to understand that if they seat 25% of the guests and the rest could get food to go why they weren't open. It also would have been nice to know this ahead of time. Also the two times I was at the front desk they had guests there that were very upset. One couple had been told they had reservations and when they tried to check in they were not in the system. The hotel was full and they were not happy. The other coupe apparently had been promised that they could change rooms on the second night of their stay for an ocean view room. Whoever promised them that at the hotel failed to enter that into the computer. You might want to book early to make sure you will be able to get an ocean view and then double check to make sure they didn't mess it up. Other than these few things, the stay was great and we will be back again

Wife & I stayed two nights enjoying our ocean views from our room, restaurant also was very good. Also their specialty made drinks were excellent . Couldn't hear noise from neighboring rooms. Retail store within walking distance .

I'm not a huge review fan but this hotel is worth the time. Taffy at the front desk was the nicest person I have ever dealt with at a hotel ever. I travel a considerable amount and have never felt more welcomed. When I had a family emergency and had to check out early she made it easy and was so understanding. Over all report, the rooms are clean, food and drinks on outdoor patio fire pits were the perfect spot for sunset. Staff there also friendly and fast. Ocean front rooms offer a view of lighthouse which was very cool, excuse poor photos. I will be back to this hotel anytime I'm in Newport.

We stayed at this hotel after a very long day of traveling. We got the last room!!! The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The physical appearance of the hotel is excellant. I strongly recommend a stay here.

Stayed here years ago, the upgrades are Great!! King/Oceanfront 5th flr was beautiful, lighthouse, blue skies and water... All staff very friendly. The only downside was the dog food & people food crumbs on the floor by a chair. We didn't have a dog. Obviously the room was NOT vacuumed properly. FYI check those areas...under the bed, around all furniture. People do look there, making sure nothing is missed when we're packing up to leave. However!! This will not keep us from coming back. It was a great experience and our family from Idaho was next door, they ALSO throughly enjoyed their stay!!

We researched this hotel as we usually do, TA had decent reviews and we were only staying for a night. Check in process seemed fine, slow and sassy front worker but whatever. The room was nice originally, rehabbed. However, at a closer look, it was filthy. Dirty shower with someone else's hair in the sink/curtain. Crumbs and food when we moved the coffee table, dirty towels. I felt like I was being Punk'ed and this was a disgruntled maid that did this room before rage quitting. We got a cot for our toddler, when we opened it, it had DIRTY SOCKS AND UNDERWEAR in it, obviously wasn't cleaned or changed between customers. What?! In the world of COVID how do you mess this up? Completely insane and inappropriate. The only reason I didn't give it 2 stars, is because I emailed BW who called me instantly and made it right. BW customer service was great, the hotel was horrible.

We stayed here over Spring Break with our family and the room was huge with plenty of room for our family. We got there just in time to watch the sunset on the beach from our room's balcony. We swimmed in the pool and ate at the restaurant. All wonderful.

The Best Western Plus at Newport was exceptional in every way..spotlessly clean, very quiet, close to the beach, with an optional ocean view! Restaurant service was great for breakfast and the food was very tasty. Don't pass this one up!

The room was very nice - modern and clean, spacious enough. Fridge and microwave came in handy. It had a great ocean view and a balcony, although the balcony was not deep enough for a chair or anything. That was fine for us as it was chilly. Still great to look out and view the sunset. Staff was nice and allowed us to check in early. Businesses along the highway were convenient but to get to the cute historic area it was about 30 min walk along the beach or a short drive. Also short drive to the fishing docks area which was really cool!

Had a great view of Yaquina Head! The room was bright, clean, comfortable, and modern. Loved the chairs. The restaurant was wonderful, and I love that the pool area has so many windows. The beach is a short walk away, safe and well-lit path. Really wish breakfast was available more days of the week, found out at arrival it would not be open during the days of my stay.

Honestly, if we go back to this part of the coast with my kids, I won't even bother looking at other hotels. This checks all the boxes for a very affordable price. We didn't expect much based on our experiences with BW growing up. This specific location far exceeded our expectations. Clean, well-sound-proofed, updated rooms. Friendly and respectful staff. Beautiful views, good proximity to the beach, outdoor fire pits and rolling lawn, a morning coffee bar in the lobby. There's a little store in the lobby to grab snacks or anything you left at home. There is a TGI-Friday-esq restaurant on site. We're foodies so this isn't the type of place we'd usually dine at. But for a family place with young kids, on site, it was a pleasant surprise.

My elderly mother with dementia escaped unnoticed, from our hotel room in the early am hours. Once she managed to find her way to the front desk she was taken care of with the utmost kindness & professionalism. They were able to figure out who she was & to whom she belonged..! I am so thankful that they were aware of her wandering & need for help.

We booked this room with the understanding from the booking agent that with rewards cad we would get extra points/gift card and breakfast. After booking and checking we find out that none of that was true for this property and the bill had damn near 70.00 worth of taxes and fees. (Could've flown to Vegas for less) The staff was using COVID as an excuse for everything. Covid isn't an excuse for awful service and extremely high prices.

I have been spending a lot of time in Oregon recently for work. This is always where I stay. The Inn is extremely clean, the hosts are wonderfully friendly and the food in the bistro is incredible! I would highly recommend

The staff are by far some of the unfriendliness and rude people I've ever met. The food is mediocre at best. The area is beautiful though. So if you can get a room facing the ocean then you might be able to stomach the terrible service.

AVOID!. I booked with them because their website said they are doing derp cleanings. When I got to the room it was extremely smelly and realized it was the bedding sheets. That's not deep cleaning. Avoid!

The hotel in my opinion is a 5/5 star! The hotel is extremely clean. The staff are all so nice and accommodating. The rooms are very clean. The dining area is beautiful and the food is top notch! The grounds are so well taken care of. This hotel is number one! I will be back. Love love love this hotel.

We came here with our dog for our anniversary and had a fabulous time. We had lovely room with ocean view and easy beach access. Hot tub/pool available by signing up. Best of all, restaurants were open all over town for dine in. We've also come here for meetings too & love it. Great price, will be back.

Hotel & service were great, access to beach was great. But they chose to put sliding barn doors on the bathroom that don't fully close, no lock & a big gaping crack. Very awkward to use the bathroom...know your roommate! I'm going to take a pass on that next time.

I tried to make a reservation online but it wouldn't let me for some reason. I made a reservation at the desk and it was cheaper than online. Front desk had great customer service. All their amenities were open. Their pool was even open. They were giving families 45 minute slots to swim due to Covid. Restaurant/bar plus room service was all open. The reason I mention this is because the previous night we stayed at a hotel in Florence. None of their amenities were available but they still charged full price and their booking site said It was all open. The room was a partial ocean view. The room was large, updated and clean. Only con was the ice machine and soda machine on our floor wasn't on. I saw that someone previously complained about the distance to the beach. It's literally a driveway away. The hotel has so many great views. We will stay again!

Good price for ocean front with a view, good restaurant, nice staff. Wish the fire pit was on all day and that the self serve coffee station was back open. I'm assuming it was closed due to COVID restrictions.

Everything, with the exception of the underwhelming, overpriced restaurant food, was very nice at this location. Although not directly located on the water, it has a very good view and has easy access to the beach. Staff was helpful and good customer service.

Very helpful staff, great amenities, beautiful location and easy access to the beach. My first time there, but I would and am going to be going back again! The restaurant has amazing food, so you don't even need to leave the hotel if you want an all inclusive feel!

We have stayed here several times & have loved it, but this time was a big Let Down. The bed was far too hard. Both my husband and I woke up with "sleeping" arms (side sleepers) due to circulation being pinched. It made relaxing in bed to watch TV or read uncomfortable. They do have 2 comfortable chairs but it's just not the same as cozying up in bed. The bathtub didn't drain. Pretty gross. At that point it was over halfway through our stay so there was no point in telling them. We let them know at checkout. If you enjoy your privacy in the bathroom, just a heads up, they use a barn-door style for it. It slides closed but it doesn't seal so noises and such come through the space between the wall and door. It was fine for us but I was definitely aware that it wasn't all the way "closed". Due to Covid, several amenities are gone or limited: - Housekeeping doesn't come unless you request it but they can't touch your bed or your things. - No longer a wine (and snacks) reception in the evenings. - no complimentary beverages in the lobby. - The pool was open but you have to reserve a 45 minute slot once per day. The view is beautiful with somewhat easy access to getting onto the beach. It's a walk down a hill, crossing a street and then walking over a little make-shift bridge. It is not disabled-friendly and the walk back up the hill is a lot of effort if you're not used to doing things like that. If I recommended this hotel after this stay I would express what "used to be" and now "what is".

For a lot of things still being shut down due to COVID-19. I was very happy that the pool was open and how they allowed you a scheduled time to take your family down there. Also they had a small stand set up for coffee , and some breakfast options.

This is our favorite hotel. Wonderful staff, clean, comfortable, great coffee and food. Love the view! The fire place is so nice with a good coffee in the morning and we love love the salt water pool! It's warm and clean!

We just wanted to get away. Like everyone else, we are tired of being cooped up because of restrictions. Despite the nasty weather and restaurants only open for curbside or delivery and limited amenities, we chose to come anyway. We were pleased with our room. Very nice. We loved that they are very pet friendly and are the grounds are set up for that. We loved the view from our fifth floor room. The lobby and hallways nice and well lit. The staff were efficient and friendly. Only negatives about the room was that a table/chairs would have been nice as we ate all our meals in our room and the balcony could be a little bigger. The BIGGEST issue we had was our noisy neighbors. New Year's eve, although quite annoying, I gave them a break. I could deal with it even though it wasn't until 2:30 am that I could get to sleep. The next evening, they began arguing around 5pm. After 11 pm I could tell it was never going to end and it was escalating and I was afraid that someone was going to get hurt. I called the front desk and Dawn came up immediately and spoke to them. Kuddos to her! I do not fault the hotel for the people next door. I could have called sooner but I guess I am way to patient ! I would LOVE to come back when the weather is better and things open back up.

Beautiful views and easy access to a great beach. I appreciate they are dog friendly. Friendly staff. Downfalls: doesn't include breakfast as many other BW plus do, bedding was shabby & thin walls, could hear neighbors conversations.

The staff were friendly and polite. The room had a couple of minor problems considering it was advertised as just being renovated. Loved that it was so close to the sea we never needed to leave our room to see the ocean waves. We could not use any of the amenities due to Covid, but they have a small area with supplies, and an in house restaurant.

What a superb location (Newport, Agate Beach) and comfortable property. A present and helpful staff. Covid precautions were well done and not irritating. We look forward to returning with extended family for relaxation and play. If I ever need four or five days to work on a writing project or need to think something through... I'll be here.

This may be one of the nicest properties I have found on the Oregon Coast! The property was renovated in 2018 (according to the staff) and it was done in a very tasteful manner. The property was decorated in a very modern style that is very nice. A lot of renovations are done quickly and some things are not updated correctly. They did not skip any of the little details. I will definitely stay at the property again. One of the best Best Western Plus locations you will find!

We stayed 9 days with no trouble and the view of the ocean was as advertised. Clean room, good beds. Staff very helpful with local things to do. Exercise room open by appointment during COVID time. Nice location

Had a terrific time the view of the beach from our room was fantastic. The clam chowder was delicious. I also recommend the applewood smoked bacon cheese burger with fries. If you go there I highly suggest you go to the Newport aquarium.

Stay here if you want to completely unwind & relax! A beautiful hotel right on the beach with an amazing view of the ocean. The staff was courteous & helpful always, the rooms were beautiful. We will be coming back! Loved it!

Amazing ocean views from the room. Literally a 2 min walk to beautiful Agate Beach. Very pet friendly. Check in was a snap, even during COVID. Great service from housekeeping and in the Bar/Restraunt. The beds are beyond comfortable. Best Western Plus has done a great job keeping up the grounds and property. Situated away from the tourist areas of Newport on the North end of town. If you want a great stay and great value, give this Best Western a try.

Loved staying at this hotel and the stunning views from inside and outside. The easy walk to the beach was refreshing. Rooms were very clean and well equipped. Amenities are complete: conference rooms, pool, workout room, restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating, coffee bar in lobby, fire pit, etc. Parking is on two levels with access in front of the hotel and via a sky bridge directly from the hotel elevator area. It's unique but very easy to access.

All of these were excellent and, in particular, it was most enjoyable during the Covid times to be able to sit in a restaurant and enjoy the complete eating experience that is not available in many facilities.

We stayed at this hotel years ago, it was in need of an upgrade. It is now very comfortable, clean, and has a great lounge/restaurant so you can arrive and relax! There is a parking lot that is accessed by a walking bridge, which can be confusing. This is necessary because the hotel sits on a ledge at Agate beach, so it is worth it! We just used the carts to transport luggage. Rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable, it was very quiet. Espresso bar in lobby. Fire pit outside of lounge!

This property is on the beach and the view rooms are amazing. You could probably pass this Best Western off as a Marriott, it is that nice. The balcony was small but useful and the slider door was commercial grade as well as the screen. Slide the door open for the fresh breeze and sounds from the ocean, slide the screen door into place to keep the bugs out. Most sliders and screens in hotels are in poor repair, not here. I have never seen this quality for a balcony door. Much appreciated. Slept on a Beautyrest mattress. No problems there. Restaurant and lounge were operating, room service available. Most guests were observing Covid 19 precautions

Stayed 1 night ocean view 4th floor view great but room had very dirty grimy carpet had not been cleaned in along time, bathroom sink plugged up drained slowly. Best Western in Newport needs to finish updating and maintain cleaner rooms.

Requested ocean-view room was told none available however on street entrance a sign stating ocean view rooms currently available. Also called and asked anonymously later in the day and yes some available. Why I was lied too unclear staying here a week was planning a second week but moving to different hotel. Rooms very clean updated nice location.

Yes, the views and location are definitely a plus. But, I spent the night listening to an obnoxious child screaming and another rooms tv on the entire night. I couldn't hear the ocean and that is one reason I stayed. For the price, I don't expect to hear so much through the walls and it wasn't because the noise was unusually loud. It was typical level hotel noise for the most part. It was the worst nights sleep I've had at a hotel in a long time, though. The rooms are nice, but that doesn't matter so much when you can't sleep. I doubt I'll stay here again due to the paper thin walls.

Great location with convenient beach access and lots of outdoor seating options. Clean rooms with all the needed essentials for a long term stay. Lots to do in the area even with COVID despite all the forest fires.

The room was nice and the staff was friendly. Easy check in and out. The views of the ocean were nice. The only con was they didn't leave any extra rolls of toilet paper in the room. The restaurant/lounge had great food. They do a good job of using caution due to Covid-19

One benefit to online school (and everything) is our new ability to travel during the week! This came in very handy this week when we took at 24 hour reprieve from the smoke at the Best Western on Agate Beach. The staff was so incredibly nice and the accommodations very comfortable. The kids spent the afternoon studying, watching the waves and playing with the dogs on the beach for recess. There are cozy corners, power outlets and tables all over the hotel to tuck into, expresso in the morning, and a Walmart right next door for snacks. We had dinner both nights at the restaurant: the food was very good, reasonably priced and the server was kind and excellent. We look forward to visiting again.

Our stay was excellent from check in, hotel staff very friendly and helpful, and check out was simple. Rooms are very well appointed and clean. Will make our stay here an annual event during the summer and fall months.

A few times each year, I go online and find somewhere with a relatively cheap hotel room for what it is, and go there. I didn't go with the cheapest this time, as it was fairly reasonable at this hotel and I wasn't going to pass up going to the coast instead of somewhere in the valley. My expectations were definitely exceeded staying here. It wasn't perfect, but the view and location just about are. I wouldn't have expected a hotel that is across the street from the beach to have this great of a view, but it does. The lighthouse on the cape is the crowning jewel of an already spectacular view. The hotel itself is very nicely remodeled, and you can tell the staff mostly cares here. There were a few things that could have been improved - the sheet on top of the blanket was very ratty, the shower isn't great, and the walls are super thin - but most everything was great. It was laid out nicely, the way the parking area was integrated was smart. The location is great - I especially appreciated that I didn't have to get on 101 to get all the way to Yaquina Bay, and it's right on the state park, which makes for easy access to the beach. Oh, the internet was overloaded a couple times during my stay, and was kicking me off; that could definitely be improved. My biggest issue was losing a few hours of sleep to the neighbors (yelling, hitting things, slamming the door, barking dog, screaming baby, they had it all); the walls are very thin, as mentioned. I thought they were checking out after my second night here, but I wanted to be sure so I went and asked at the front desk. She acted like no one has ever had an issue with noise, and it was the most bizarre question ever asked to find out if the next room was checking out that day. I could have demanded a different room or something, but instead I was trying to not cause any problems and just make sure it was taken care of. Not sure where I went wrong there to get that kind of response. I also got three different times for check-out. One said 11am PST, which we aren't in, so I assume they meant 11am PDT, and then the door in the room said 12pm (I guess that's two times, since it would be the same as 11am PST if I'm thinking correctly). Not sure which is correct, but it got me moving a little faster. Anyway, again, this is a great location with a great view and nice rooms, and I'll stay here again.

Our room was clean, nice and the bed slept great! The bathroom was well stocked with towels and the toiletry items were extra nice. We had a late dinner on arrival day at the Bistro and it was delicious. We ordered breakfast served by room service and it was piping hot and delivered to our room within 25 minutes of ordering,. Nice hotel and I would stay again as well as recommend to others.

stayed at BW agate beach inn 5 nights. very clean, comfortable. newly remodeled and painted, carpet, etc. nice looking place. room s facing the beach had sliding glass doors to allow for seeing the beach and getting fresh air in. tried to sit at a table at eh sea glass lounge to get a drink but waiters need to keep tables open for paying dinner guests. we were asked to move on.

Loved this hotel very close to the beach but requires long walk down to the beachfront.. There were issues with access to the restaurant/lounge for wheelchair but hotel is very accommodating in all respects.

Broken every where you see. Started from the ride front desk with an attitude. Over charged us then when I caught the mess later I called an was put on hold for over 20 min while she fixed it. Glass around fire pit was broken and thrown down on the ground. Glass at the bar fire pit was all black and needed alot of cleaning Sink on the room was broken and epoxy was used on over half of the sink. Wrong color and looked horrible. Toilet dispenser wouldn't hold the tp Internet never worked and cable went out. Big potholes in the middle of the blacktop. Man bridge has a crack in the cement. Sliding door in room never locked. Asked for late checkout and was told not policy then called next day and asked same late checkout and was approved only to be called and questioned why we haven't vacated our room. Bitter experience

I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are traveling with pets. The beds were very comfortable. We had an ocean view. The ocean was down a slight hill and across the street, but a great hike. I do recommend everyone be extremely careful when parking anywhere on the coast (or anywhere), we averted having our car window smashed and our valuables stolen by my husband returning early and watching the kids run from our car and speed off. Do not ever be complacent when traveling.

The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. It's an excellent value for the price and one of the nicest Best Westerns you'll ever see. I couldn't be more pleased with this hotel! The manager, Joshua, is a sweetheart.

Was on a 14 day motorcycle trip, got caught in some weather and stopped here. Awesome! Very helpful and friendly staff, clean room, great view, good food in the restaurant. In the middle of this Covid-19 mess, this hotel is doing great! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I have stayed in several coastal hotels over the past week, although most were similarly priced, none where as nice as this property!

This was our first trip back to the beach since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 Stay at Home order. We were happy to see that everyone, staff and other guests, were wearing their masks and practicing physical distancing. We were very happy with the staff; they were helpful and friendly. Beach access is great! Rooms are comfy!

Some was smoking on their balcony and the smoke was coming in our room thru open door. Could see cigarettes & lighter on their air conditioner. Called front desk to let them know and they said would check out. Still had intermittent cigarette smoke coming in thru door all night.

This hotel was great! Clean rooms with amazing views. Decently priced. 3 min walk to the beach. Dog friendly. $30 fee/night was reasonable. Both of us people and the dog enjoyed everything. Service was wonderful. (Shoutout to Chris!) Really couldn't ask for more. :)

Stayed here for a business trip. Went to my room to find a sticky and stinky stain on the carpet. Talked to the deck about getting a different room. Was told that for $20.00 I could Be moved to a room with a view. WTF????

Great location and the beach is amazing staff was friendly and polite. With COVID 19. Some amenities were not available but it was still a great stay. Our only complaint was room service no one in our group was really pleased with breakfast. We expected better quality, food was bland and undercooked.

You will not go wrong with this hotel. It is right on the water, with amazing views and easy access to the beach. The restaurant staff was very attentive and the food was delicious. Numerous beers on tap, including a local IPA which was great. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Wasn't the best stay. When we showed up, the lady gave us a room that people were already in. She then told us that she was going to upgrade us to a full ocean view. Our full ocean view was actually a view of trees instead. Every time we went by the front desk to leave the lady would be rude. When you go to Book the rooms, their description says they have free continental breakfast, when I asked the lady about it, she said no they don't have it because they have a restaurant. We also got food from the restaurant, my husband got the clam chowder and it was cold. I got onion rings and it tasted like fish.

This hotel was amazing! The rooms are very clean with plenty of rooms. The location is AMAZING! Its a five minute walk to the beach but that only counts for the walk from the back door to the water because the hotel is right on the beach itself! The price was incredible for a beach side hotel! It was so easy to drive to the places we wanted to visit and the staff were incredibly friendly. Sadly we did not get to try any of the food or beverages as the bar was closed the whole time we were there. The room service we did get was very good! All in all a beautiful hotel, affordable price, with a very friendly and welcoming staff. 100% will stay at this location again!

The view on the Pacific side looking out at the yaquina light house is unmatched. The service considering the current covid-19 situation was good. Our room was not great. The sheets had leftover stains ( looked like chewing gum), the sliding door was inoperable due to what looked like a failing gaurd rail and the room smelled like a fresh baby diaper change. There was either ketchup or blood stain on the window curtain. I'm not sure what the appeal is with the barn doors for the bathroom but it doesn't provide much privacy. Specially when your sharing a room. This trip was a scouting trip for a future weeding so we hope the conditions improve. As far as the price I think they are a little high but considering the view and easy beach access, that is a fair compromise. This trip was discounted because of the scouting trip for a wedding.

First of all I was trying to get away from stress for a night and this experience made it worse . I was checking in and was rudely interrupted by guests behind me and instead of the front desk lady finishing up with me she started conversing with them and I ended up just walking away ( she took forever to come out and help me too and didn't say sorry about that just got right in to asking what I needed help with . My room was 2 something but I thought it meant second floor so it took me forever to find because there isn't a second floor I finally figured out it meant “ lobby “ . Trash in the corner of our room clearly from the people before us . Door locked but unlocked when the handle was pulled down so we had to put a chair in front so my child wouldn't run out the entire time .Not worth the price . I would choose Hallmark resort for an extra $30 anytime . Way nicer balcony there too.

I travel for work so every week is a new place new hotel. This experience was special because my family was with me, so I expected near perfection. Upon my arrival there was an issue with my booking not at all related to the hotel. After management figured out the problem not only did they gladly correct it, they went above and beyond. However, I was no special guest. You could see how the hotel staff from guest service to front desk to room service to house keeping and management treat their guest. Everyone is always greeted with a smile and a warm welcoming willingness to help. It reminded me that customer service in the right places is a love and well. Pool is currently being repaird bummer but the beach is a walk away with incredible views. Walmart is next door literally if you want or need last minute items but we preferred the local scene which has MANY items to choose from. Parks are located up and down the coast and I believe there are 3 within 15 min drive. So location is spot on and central. I was absolutely blown away with this hotel and staff I definitely know where I'll be staying again. Big thanks to joshua!! Any concerns speak with him

The Good: 1. Modern, updated furnishing in the room and lobby (VERY comfortable queen beds) 2. Friendly, helpful staff 3. Great location with a view of the ocean and lighthouse 4. Easy access to Agate Beach from the hotel with a readily available garden hose for rinsing off the beach sand The Bad: 1. Nearly every place to sit in the relatively large lobby had a "reserved" sign on it regardless of being 6 feet apart--not very welcoming if you're looking for a place to hang out with family and friends outside the room. 2. With the heavy emphasis on improved room cleaning and sanitation due to the Covid pandemic, I was surprised when my kid found a few items on the hotel room floor leftover from a previous guest. 3. Odd communication--A hotel representative called before my arrival asking me to call back and confirm my stay. I tried calling back, but couldn't get through so I emailed the front desk with my stay confirmation as well as a few requests that were never again addressed (request for a top floor room and room service menu). 4. The hotel website specifies that this hotel offers room service which I thought about ordering for breakfast, but there is literally nothing in the room or at the front desk with room service information. As mentioned previously, my emailed request for a room service menu went unanswered. In fact, you could easy stay at this hotel and never even know they had a relatively nice looking restaurant on the bottom floor--do they really not want people to eat there?? 5. Both my wife and I are dog people, but if you aren't, you're not going to like this place since there are literally dogs everywhere. The only reason this is under the "bad" is because the people staying in the room next to us left there dog in the room which barked constantly for well over an hour on a Sunday morning. 6. Since we were staying 2 nights, on our way to lunch, I asked the front desk about getting housekeeping service while we were out, but he said they don't offer housekeeping on stayovers--huh? We ended up making our own beds and making multiple trips to ask hotel staff for extra cups, toilet paper, and towels. I can't imagine staying here for longer than 2 nights without housekeeping service. Part of the "fun" of staying at a hotel on vacation is coming back to a restocked, clean room so this is a major negative in my book.

Tucked away from the road a very small distance is the Agate Beach BW. What a great place! The staff were phenomenal and the accommodations were marvelous. Had an unplanned stay but the staff treated me as though I was a long time regular. Jash and Isaac, at the front desk, were great to speak with. Stay, whether for work or pleasure, you will be treated like royalty.

Hotel was clean comfortable very pleasant experience. Especially enjoyed the pool temperature was perfect. Great view excellent location. Friendly staff restaurant has great view. Would recommend as a nice gettaway.

The entire staff is so kind and helpful! Extremely clean and great access to beach. We brought a companion animal and they treated it like a valued guest as much as they did us. By giving him a doggy gift basket/ bowl.

This hotel is very clean and friendly. The pool was wonderful. The room was great and beds were comfortable with lots of pillows. Great view and access to the beach. We will definitely be back. Loved the barista in the lobby.

The tub didn't drain and the bed was not comfortable however I have a very expensive bed at home and I think I'm just not used to regular mattresses. The walk to the beach has a lot of water and is supposed to be emergency access only so it's not family friendly at all. Breakfast girl has an attitude. Front desk was amazing they addressed most of my issues and I did not remember to tell them about my tub not draining.

Welcoming staff, pretty coastal view, great outside amenities. Will stay at again when in town. Hotel is situated on a hill which has great views. Bistro/ restaurant was great. Out of the way packing with security doing rounds. Try it, you won't be disappointed!!

We really enjoy this hotel and it's evening wine reception and nice pool/hot tub. Rooms are clean and comfortable. If you don't like noise, request a room away from the elevators & pet-friendly rooms.

Stayed Valentines Day weekend, clean room, nice view, staff was very friendly. Only issue during our stay was with parking one night due to an event for the holiday. Non guests took up every bit of parking as well as all the fire lane parking. We came back two times to the hotel before finally finding a place to park.

Our daughter requested this property specifically over the Hallmark, our usual getaway when we want to splurge. We came over from the Valley and we were allowed to check in early. The room was okay...once we got in....the key cards didn't work and we had to go back down from 6th floor and carrying bags. Waited in a long line, again. It wasn't fun waiting in line to hear the customer in front of me paying $70 less as they booked on Expedia. They had the same two queen, ocean view room. I mentioned that to staff and no one cares. The bathroom “barn” doors are a joke after the remodel. Absolutely zero privacy. There is minimum 1.25 inch gap between door and walk (peek a boo isn't fun as an adult). Went to the pool and it was extremely busy. The toilet was clogged, there were no paper towels, and the cloth pool towels ran out. We had decided to stay here three times over the past few years when wanting to save a bit over the Hallmark. Honestly we learned our lesson and will stick with clean, private bathrooms, and just accepting a bit more money. If you are going to stay at this property, please do yourself a favor and save $70 booking on Expedia. Sure wish I could have saved that....

The Location is amazing the restaurant is very good and the view of the beach and lighthouse were amazing. Check in was easy and quick as well as checkout and the location right across from agate beach is awesome

Everything about this visit was great. Last minute check-in that was not a bad deal at all. Acceptable price. The room was well kept for the age of this building. Very clean and an amazing view to the ocean. The pool area was very nice. Beach access is just a short walk down, across the road and you are there. The only hiccup was the upper parking lot access bridge security door malfunction. A group of us were stuck outside for a bit while they got someone to open the door. Otherwise, what a great stay.

Whenever we are traveling in the Newport OR area, we always stay here. The recently remodeled hotel is modern and pleasant. We enjoyed the nightly complimentary glass of wine and bar chips in their pretty lobby with a fireplace. The bar attendant was pleasant and friendly. Jessica at the front desk always delivers such personalized great service! We look forward to seeing her when we are there.

We have been staying here for the last four years for a gymnastics meet. Unfortunately this will be our last time staying here. The cleanliness is just not there. Are bathroom was dirty when we checked in. Tooth paste on the walls of the bathroom. Dirty finger prints all over the bathroom door. Used ear Q-tips from the previous guest was left on the counter. Lastly they have mice. My wife heard squeaking in the bathroom while she showered. I told her she was crazy. But then the next day she showed me a picture of a mouse turd on the bath mat. I'm a little disappointed because the staff here is extremely friendly and helpful they deserve 5 stars. But who ever is cleaning the rooms needs some more training.

The room was amazing and had a view of the beach and lighthouse, we were able to check in a few hours early, the bed was confortable, great hotel and friendly staff. The hot tub and pool area was nice.

I have stayed at the Agate Beach Inn on several occasions and it has become my favorite in that area of the Oregon coast. The hotel is situated along the coast, with commanding views of the ocean and ready access to the beach. The hotel is attractive, well maintained, clean and offers all the basic Best Western Plus amenities. Staff are very courteous and friendly. Rooms are very comfortable, many with ocean views. Restaurant/lounge is on site and offers good selection of standard food and bar fare. Abundant parking. Great Internet connectivity throughout the facility. Delightful off lobby sitting area that offers complimentary late afternoon beverages. Rooms are well priced and offer nice value. I will be back again soon!

We have stayed at this hotel a few different times and have loved it! It's clean and quiet and is a great location they have wonderful ocean view room. that are clean and large and the bed and pillows are comfortable as well,. The staff is great the food is awesome and the wine tasting was fantastic There are lots of windows facing the beach so even if you didn't have a room on the ocean side you can still enjoy the view from the window alcove with chairs. Over all this is a very upscale property with beautiful views and friendly service from the staff. by far one of the best accommodations in the area

This hotel ahas bern through a complete redo. It's also part of Best Western's effort to upgrade their brand. Basically it's like checking into a new hotel. Oceanside rooms have a dramatic ocean view. There's direct path to Agate Beach. Restaurant is very good and they have an espresso bar in the mornings

Whenever I take a trip with or without my family I stay at a Best Western. This location is one of my favorites. Beautiful views of the ocean and very easy access to it. Upon checking in we were greeted by a very nice woman working at the front desk. I didn't book an ocean view room, but she very kindly offered me an upgrade to an ocean view and I took it! I can't remember her name but she was very helpful and nice! Despite the overcast sky, the view from my room was gorgeous. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable (thank you housekeeping for all you do!) I remember staying at this hotel a few years ago and was told there would be remodeling and I love how it all turned out. The lobby looks very nice and welcoming and like I said the rooms look very nice and clean as well. Highly recommend this hotel to anybody staying in Newport!

We love the location and room was great, but this is the second issue with our reservation at this location. Terry in the lounge made you feel like family. Breakfast was reasonable and neverending coffee service.

Beautiful facility with lots of amenities. Nice restaurant overlooking the water. No breakfast provided, but was reasonably priced in restaurant and good quality food. Staff was very pleasant. Room very comfortable and clean.

Excellent staff, updated facilities, beautiful ocean views. Lounge offered great food and service. We enjoyed the wonderful warm pool and a good soak in the hot tub. Close and easy access to the beach.

Best Western Agate Beach is more upscale than other Best Western Hotels and is right on the beach. It is our favorite stop along the Oregon Coast and try to get there at least every few months. The location is perfect and the views are a delight. We especially enjoyed our room during the recent King Tides!

Rooms and hotel have been (well, in the process of) remodeled. We stayed here a few years ago and it was dark, cold, drab. The room and floor we were in this time were bright, warm, and welcoming. We'd recommend staying here.

Hotel manager Josh was great!. Our reservation for a specific floor with other friends did not go as expected but Josh made up for this 4 times over. Hope he continues to be the manager there for a long time. He was most helpful to our party of 5. The hotel rooms on the ocean side upper floors are great.

January is typically stormy. Watching the many moods of the Pacific Ocean and listening to the roar of the waves was fabulous. The check in and out process was quick and professional. The building was clean, the sleep was good, it was quiet and relaxing.

A well-designed and operated hotel, with great access to beautiful Agate Beach. Rooms were a bit small but nicely furnished, many with good views of the ocean and Yaquina Head and its lighthouse in the distance. (We had a "lighthouse view" room, which turned out to have an ocean view but smaller windows; in the future, I'll pay a bit more for a standard ocean view room. But still, the view was great.) The lobby was cozy, and furnished with a small telescope, a chess set, game table, and fireplace, and front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Main trade-off is the location: good beach access, but not walking distance to much else except a Walmart, so a car is required to get to restaurants or shops.

Had a great evening of swimming/hot tubbing and enjoying the atmosphere of this Best Western Plus. Friendly staff, and great decor and amenities. Dog friendly with lots of areas to take the dogs for walks, also great beach access from the back of the facility.

My usual favorite hotel has missed the mark this time. My ocean view room was almost the worst I've had here and they didn't acknowledge my call when I notified them I would be late. When I got there, I had to wait about 15 minutes for staff to come to counter for checkin and when I left, the wait was even longer due to staff lack of knowledge in how to check people in from of me in--her words not mine.

Wonderful hotel that is great for dogs and kids. Easy beach access with stunning ocean views. Great food and drink. Indoor pool and hot tub. Courteous staff that were very helpful. I love that my well-trained dogs were treated so well too!

The view was Phenomenal! For once the bed wasn't too firm and neither were the pillows. Sad there wasn't continental breakfast. All hotels, not just Best Western, need stronger coffee though. I'll still give it thumbs up!

My wife & I stayed 3 nights, had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room. The room was comfortable & very clean, no problems accessing the internet. There's a nice-sized hot tub & pool we enjoyed, & a lounge where we enjoyed a mixed drink rather than drinking somewhere else then driving on the winding roads on the Oregon coast. Prices for the drinks were good, & I would recommend trying some of the bar foods! The staff was great, the atmosphere overall was relaxing. We're going back to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.

This hotel is so nice! The front desk gal was very friendly and helpful. The entire hotel is beautiful and clean. Awesome views! Hot tub and pool area was also very clean! We will be back soon with our kids!

We stayed here several months ago and everything was just as good as the first time. The food was excellent and the staff was very helpful and courteous. We were able to check in early at nnon since we arrived early.

this is a very good Best Western. The location on a beautiful beach was outstanding, We enjoyed running our two dogs there. Our room was clean, welcoming and the beds were very comfortable. We had a spectacular view. The dinner we picked up from the Bistro was excellent. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is peaceful and quiet. We liked it very much and would go back and stay longer.

My son and I stayed for Thanksgiving and ate Thanksgiving dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. The hotel was clean, updated and well maintained. When we checked in the front desk person let my son pick a toy out of their toy chest, which he was thrilled about. Then she told me about a cool hands-on science museum I didn't know about that we ended up going to as well, and we really enjoyed because of her suggestion. Beautiful views, easy access to walk to the beach and close to town. We also finished each day swimming in the pool and slept great. We will be back.

We wound up staying here 2 nights in a row & Melissa at the front desk was beyond amazing!!! She was super nice, professional, friendly, & shortly after we got to our room, she called us to make sure everything was good for us, BOTH nights. We have 2 dogs & had booked at the last minute & she helped us out so much. Major kudos & a huge thank you to Melissa for being so great! If you're lucky enough to have her at the front desk when you get there, you won't be disappointed!!!

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was spacious, comfortable beds, lots of pillows. It had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. All are essential with a baby. The lobby has games, puzzles, comfortable seating. The pool was a decent size and perfectly warm. Lots of clean towels. There's access to the beach down a short paved trail. Outside they have a gas fire pit. The service from the women working at night was what stands out the most. I didn't catch her name, but she was great. She made us feel so welcome. We didn't eat at the restaurant. Maybe next time.

Traveling with 6 month old puppy. This was a fantastic location with special pet rooms and toys on arrival. They have a restaurant on site and a service that allows you to leave your pet alone in the room while you eat. The food was great and they gave us ice cream for our dog .

We really enjoyed our stay at this understated, but lovely hotel. When you arrive at this hotel you cannot see the beach, but when we entered our room....WOW! Spectacular! Everyone we encountered was friendly and professional. The restaurant was decent - good menu selections and a nice setting. We wish that we had planned a longer stay, but just happened upon Newport in our Oregon travels.

The room over looked a beautiful ocean view and the price was very reasonable as well. Couldn't be happier with it. 5 stars hands down. The restaurant had a very classy atmosphere and the food was excellent!

We stayed here with our little pup and we're blown away by the kindness, professionalism and hospitality. Everyone had a smile on and was so welcoming! It was so sweet too, we received a bowl, treats and a ball for our pup from the hotel, never had we experienced that before and we loved it!! Thank you to all the staff whom made this trip so special! Will be back and highly recommend!

This is a great hotel. The rooms are freshly remodeled and very clean. The staff is very accommodating and eager to help. The restaurant is upscale with many tasty options. We can't wait for our next visit!!

This hotel is very nice and clean! We have a beautiful ocean view out our window. The staff is very friendly. The only negative is the fact that they do not have breakfast included. I would stay here again for sure!

Good for family. Has pool good for kids. Last year it was closed. Smell like bleach. Pool warm. Room real cold. Hope they fix that...soon we will back to check it out. Good restraunt if you have a good waiter like we did.

Overall not really good. Room service never answered the phone for 3 days. When microwave was on the TV shut off. When making coffee the TV would come on and off. Not very safe. Demanding that I write for 200 characters is also a little over the top.

This is a beautiful Inn. We had an ocean view. The room was comfortable, clean with a huge sliding door with a small balcony. The view is expansive. The desk service was pleasant, helpful and speedy. The breakfast was top notch. No complaints on this Inn whatsoever.

The hotel was remodeled a few years ago but it looks like it was remodeled a few months ago. Lovely beach colors without being overly beachy in decor. The lobby is a comfortable gathering place. There are chairs on each floor's elevator lobby with great ocean views. The rooms are large and well appointed. The restaurant faces the ocean and there are outside dining tables, some with fire pits. The onsite restaurant service has nice menu with friendly service.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay. I think this facility needs a larger hot water supply for ALL the rooms. When everyone is taking a shower in the morning. Water temperature drops dramatically. I left my motorhome generator running. Management and staff were gracious enough to tactfully ask me to eliminate the noise because it was disturbing the other guests. They were all very professional in the way they handle the situation. You've got a good crew there.

I like this place cuz it was kind of out of the way of the mainstream at the north end of town. Nicely appointed rooms, nothing fancy, with a nice view of the beach. A short walk from your hotel you could be on the beach. Nothing spectacular but worth a stay. If you're just interested in the place to crash this much cheaper places but if you'd like a little view for about double the price of an inland Motel then this one will suffice

My daughter and I wanted to stay on the coast and while I was a little skeptical about Best Western Plus, I must say we were delighted with our stay and the amenities! First, when I reserved the room, I requested the top floor with and ocean view. The hotel responded quickly to confirm and ask if I had any other requests. Check-in was easy, parking was convenient (skybridge to the 6th floor) and our room was exactly as we expected with a balcony view of the ocean. The beds were very comfortable with high quality bedding and pillows. The room had many conveniences including a small fridge, coffee maker and even a microwave. We went to the Sea Glass Bistro and Lounge on the ground level and had a very nice dinner. We could have walked easily to the beach, but it rained most of the time we were there. Would recommend this clean, convenient property to any travelers wanting an upscale experience for a reasonable price!

Looks plush and fancy, but there is no free breakfast and the onsite restaurant is expensive and has quite a limited menu. Only 14 "close" parking spaces -- the rest are in an elevated lot and you have to access via a 6th floor skyway walking bridge that isn't enclosed or covered. Their wi-fi would not connect to my Windows 10 laptop, despite being put on the phone with a tech expert. The bathroom door is the sliding barn door type -- doesn't disguise the fact that the bathroom and bathroom doorway are quite small, and the door was very difficult to open and close from inside the bathroom without breaking a fingernail or two. I personally didn't use any of the "extra" features in the hotel, but I can definitely say I would never book a room here again.

While staying here I would be very unsure about recommending staying here with the problems I had. Lack of internet service , Mattress felt like your were falling on the floor when you tried to lay down. Phone would only let you call front desk.

Very nice hotel overall. We had one sunny day so we spent it on the beach. Hotel has great beach access, wonderful swimming pool and hot tub, a nice restaurant and lounge as well. Besides a noisy toilet we didn't really have too many complaints.

Great property. I had no need to go to tow n to eat or explore. You are right on the beach and the food is excellent. Try the clam chowder! The bed was fantastic. Many of my fellow conference attendees commented on the quality of the bed. Internet was great Staff (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, Restaurant, Room Service and Conference/Banquet were all superb.

Booked a seaview room this October. The rates were rather high for the fall season. The maid did a terrible job in cleaning and making the bed. Picture enclosed of my bed. Very bad service for the price I paid. Plus in the afternoon someone tried to brake into my room. Thank god that I had the dead bolt on

We stayed here two nights and enjoyed the property very much! It felt like a charming boutique hotel. Our view of the ocean and lighthouse was lovely! Enjoyed the walk to the beach and watching the sunset. The hotel grounds were very nice, including a fun firepit area. Great wine tasting from 5 to 6. We enjoyed breakfast and lovely view from restaurant. Very friendly staff! We hope to be back one day! There is much to do nearby.

We are Best Western Rewards members so we frequently pick BW when we travel. We've traveled the coast for many years and never stopped in at this particular hotel. Truth is, we probably won't come back. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are nicely appointed and clean, with a nice size tv, and everything we need, but.......We thought it was weird to have to park as they put it, down the street, turn left, go up the hill, and park in the parking lost up there, then walk across a sky bridge, take the elevator to your room. Our room number was 222. So naturally we get in the elevator and look for floor 2. Nope, there is no floor 2. I'm not kidding, no floor 2. So we are perplexed, other hotel patrons trying to help us are perplexed. Finally after a while of trying different floors we find floor 2, you guessed it, the lobby lever, what? Ok, so we finally find our room. Ocean view, not far from the pool, and fitness room. Fitness room is pretty lacking. The so called view is a view of sorts. Your view is form across a road and then a street. You can't even hear the waves with your door open. The balcony is just large enough to stand on but that's it. Not large enough to sit outside and enjoy the waves (that is, if you could hear them). We ate at the restaurant and I went into the bar also to check it out. It was crazy crowded with one bartender, one server, and someone else more like a hostess. They were slow to say the least, because of the crowd. The bartender was obviously frustrated so I asked her what was going on. She said it's hard to get help because of the cost of housing in Newport. True about the cost, the reason why? I'll never really know. I was so disappointed I called around to a couple of my favorites to see if they had openings. I changed my mind after they all quoted me outrageous prices for a last minute stay. I'll just chalk this one up to a learning experience. I do need to make mention of the fact that the dinner was good. My wife had the filet mignon and it was really good. I had a salad and it was good, just a little light on the chicken. I'll try to post a couple of pics so that you know what you're getting with your ocean view.

Wonderful service and staff! Dinner and breakfast the next morning were delicious! Don't miss the wine reception in the lobby from 5:00 - 6:00 PM! Beautiful location with a short walk to the beach and ocean.

If you want to see the ocean, walk to the beach and play, go swimming in a sparkling pool , run down and pick up some M&M;S, or just lounge in your super comfy clean bed with lots of pillows. and be able to Bring your pet too...and get ready for a wonderful meal delivered right to your room with cloth napkins...THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU.

Excellent hotel and stay but avoid breakfast. It's way too expensive and not very good at all. The hotel room and location are great and I would highly recommend staying here and ask for a room on a high floor for a great view. Very dog friendly as well. Indoor pool.

The property is nicely situated near the beach, with a convenient access path. We had an ocean-front room on the third floor. There is a very narrow balcony - much too narrow to utilize for anything but standing and looking out. The room walls are relatively thin, so little privacy (we always bring earplugs, fortunately). Very overpriced room (we stayed in late September). The facility itself is very lovely, with nice decor and many cozy areas to sit and lounge. The fun, oversized games scattered throughout were a nice touch!

Beautiful ocean views! Perfect beach for walking and excellent proximity to Newport. My organization holds an annual conference here and I always look forward to staying at the hotel. It creates a great space for camaraderie.

We stopped in at the hotel with out having a reservation. We were fortunate enough to grab their last ocean front room. The room was wonderful and the staff, views, food and complementary wine were more than we anticipated. It is truly a beautiful property and the design and amenities were well-thought-out. We would definitely stay there again.

An excellent beautiful hotel with a very professional staff. We arrived before 9 a.m. in Sept. and we were able to obtain a room at that time. What a plus this was for us as we were able to drop off our belongings and headed out to enjoy many activities in the area. We will definitely be back!!! Betty G.

This is a very nice property. The decor and pool are first rate. We were surprised that no breakfast was offered but we found a great place off the property. This is an upscale place and very comfortable. The views of the ocean are amazing and there are chairs that you can sit inside the hotel and view the waves. It is fairly close to the beach and very walk-able. The one downside besides breakfast is that the sky bridge is not covered so if it is raining, you get very wet.

Celebrating an Anniversary, our request for a delightful room was accommodated a great check-in experience and we enjoyed the wonderful room. HOWEVER, we dined at the restaurant for breakfast and food/service was NOT good - my husband became severely ill afterward. Told Front Desk at check out, wrote an urgent email that day & left a detailed message for F&B who did not return my call. I received an apology but quite surprised the breakfast was not removed from the bill after such an incident.

I grew up in Newport and actually remember when this hotel was built. I've attended a few functions here throughout the years, but this was my first overnight visit. The room we stayed in on the 6th floor was excellent. The beds were comfy and we had plenty of room. I think hotels built 30+ years ago have wider rooms which is awesome. Best Western has done a great job of keeping the property in A+ shape. We ate breakfast in the Sea Glass Bistro; the food was delicious.We didn't take advantage of the pool and hot tub this trip, but we will definitely be back. As a matter of fact, I already have a reservation for next month!

Definitely will return when in the area. Great decor, rooms, access, parking, location, amenities and staff. Wine tasting daily was a plus. The bar and restaurant compared with others in the area. Views of the beach are everywhere. The Fire Pit or the Bar Fireplace is warm and cozy.

This establishment is right on the beach! It is a great value for a great hotel. They are friendly, professional and just happy to see one show up! The place is clean and well appointed. They are dog friendly and really live it. The restuarant is outstanding. Great place at a great value!

The views of the ocean are breathless. The rooms are impeccable. The hotel art and public areas are five star. The staff gives white glove service. The landscaping is outstanding. It is quiet and serene. They have an outdoor fire pit with a view of state beach.

This establishment has really got its act togther. The place is clean, friendly, Professional and right on the beach! Absolutely Pet friendly! Complete with a pet gift bag! The restuarant isabsolutely to die for!

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and accomodating. The espresso service in the morning and wine in the evening was a very nice service. The room was very clean. Each floor had a huge picture window with seating to sit and admire the veiw of the beach. The overflow parking was well lit with a walkway over to the building. Our puppy was greeted with kindness.

Room was clean, pretty, roomy enough to be "good" for son! lol Grandson enjoyed going everywhere from the pool to elevator to entry & lay on the round foot stools & have cookies & yogurt there. (he's 4 at the time) We will go here again!

We were looking for a hotel near Newport with a good view. The rooms on the beach side have a great view of the huge beach and the water. The room was very comfortable and it was less than a 10 minute drive to the waterfront in Newport. The beach is right out the back door of the hotel. The front desk staff was very pleasant.

A great location, the beach just a short walk and what an enormous one too. The restaurant we found very good along with an excellent service, our server was "wasia", nothing was to much trouble. We used the "Rookie`s sports bar where we found the staff very friendly found a little time to chat and give advise on the local area.

We loved the location in Newport. Close to town and all that it has to offer. And at the same time right by a beautiful huge beach! Very family friendly and we really appreciated the fact that there was a restaurant on site.

We loved this hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Clean facilities, great service, beautiful view, easy access to the beach. We enjoyed breakfast at the Sea Glass Bistro. I only wish I had had more than one night to enjoy all the amenities.

My husband use to travel 3 weeks out of the month & stayed at best western 90% of the time & I would visit with him. This was the nicest & most friendly one we've stayed at. Our room was dog friendly & you would never know it. It even had carpet in it.

The lady who checked us in didn't tell us a thing about the place, not even where our room was located. Usually, you get the whole speel like pool location and hours as well as restaurant location and hours. Let alone that it's a non- smoking hotel. We got our key card for our room, opened the room to find it was being occupied! Luckily we saw no nudity! Lucky for them we weren't thieves. This was a first for us! Couldn't open our sliding door to the ocean due to someone smoking. It would fill our room pretty bad. I didn't want to complain but it kept happening. Housekeeping quickly checked into it. Not the hotel's fault just inconsiderate people breaking the rules. The rooms were clean, the bed had nice pillows. Nice lemony soap and lotion. Walls were thin, we heard lots of going on. The restaurant was neat! Fire pits at some tables, food was a bit pricey, $35 for mac n cheese with crab on it, I'm sure it was good but that's a nutty price. Maybe it's summer prices. There were some kids that the parents let run wild, running up and down the hallways at 10 pm. Crossing the street back and forth alone and yelling for each other. The parents paid no attention as they were playing with the telescope. I would stay again but maybe in the offseason.

We stayed here since it was a best western. The place was cute and the staff very friendly. We enjoyed the wine tasting from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm each night. A very nice touch! My only wish is that you could actually sit out on the decks, which are very small. We would stay here again.

Not only does this hotel have an excellent location, is well-appointed, and is well-staffed the ocean-side rooms are airy and provide wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Each of the six sunsets we viewed were different but all were awe-inspiring. Our parting question from every accommodation is always, Will we return? The answer here was a firm "yes". We are, in fact, already looking ahead to 2020. The room furnishings were comfortable and practical. Even the wall decorations were pleasing. We're readers so we never tried the TV and if we have one minor complaint it would be that the reading lights left something to be desired. We compensated by providing our own. We're used to this shortcoming in many hotels. Apparently most travelers prefer television for entertainment. it's a pet-friendly property and though we left our dogs at home this time, there were plenty of furry friends to pet. There is easy access to the beach plus a skyway on the sixth floor to one of the parking lots and more pet area.

Birthday celebration for my husband. Hotel remodel was done and rooms are very stylish and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom space a bit small but worked. Loved the extra counter space. It would have helped if the sink was placed at least 6” to the left - to give space to who was sitting down. There was a balcony-if you call 6” a balcony. They talked about beach front-yes but there is a road to cross and a BIG beach to cross to get to the ocean. Bring you binoculars. Check in staff very friendly. Check out-not very helpful.

I never have trouble while staying at a Best Western, It is the only place I stay when I travel if there is one in town. Our Agate Beach stay was typicial of BW. The staff is so polite and courtious. The building grounds are well maintained. Registration is fast and easy. Rooms are clean and upscale. This inn has an attached resturant. We only had breakfast, which was good but the dinner menu was intising but we had to visit our favorite place while in Newport.

This was quick overnight stay with friends. Found the hotel to be clean, a perfect location for a quick sleep, dinner, and visits with friends. Can't beat the ocean view for a wonderful, beautiful sunset. Note: Cell service was poor to spotty so had to use wifi calling.

Booked this hotel last minute and we were lucky to have an ocean view room. The front counter staff are friendly. The inside of the building is clean and room is very clean. Our room is next door to the swimming pool. The pool hour is until midnight. I could hear door opening and closing until about 11 PM. If you are light sleeper, avoid this room. The hotel is across street from a beach. It took sometime to walk from the road side to the water but the beach is very quiet which I like. I thought breakfast is best western standard but I was wrong. Will pay attention when booking next time. Overall it is a nice stay but considering there are so many families visiting, an arrival snack or breakfast will be a nice touch.

Our ocean view room was very clean. We were very disappointed there was not a balcony. That would have been perfect. There was no breakfast offered,but there was a discount for the restaurant on site which served a very nice breakfast. There was a wine reception from 5:00-6:00. We tasted several wines from a local winery. Very pleasant hour.

CLEAN ,extremely comfortable , view location... NO free breakfast included... Nice swimming pool.would be a 5 star rating IF they included a breakfast credit or discount. The lighthouse view was overshadowed by 3 WHALES swimming by,

The remodeling turned this hotel from just okay to good. Unfortunately, the remodel did not include insulating the interior walls. Normal conversations can be heard in the next room. The doors slam with a vengeance. Do not expect a free breakfast that is provided st 95% of BW properties.

We always stay at Best Western hotels for their hospitality and for allowing pets. We can't travel without our old dog by our side and we never have an issue when he's there. He's a big boy at 75lbs but everyone loved him and treated us well. We enjoyed the lounge every day, the indoor pool and hot tub and my favorite: the fire pit overlooking the ocean. It was such a beautiful view. The hotel has it's own beach access and we enjoyed many walks on the beach because of it. It was our first time at this particular Best Western and I would definitely stay there again.

The Agate Beach Inn is located on a bluff overlooking Agate Beach with half the rooms with a sunset view across the beach, with historic Yaquina Head lighthouse to the NW. Recently renovated, the hotel has a full-service restaurant (indoor and patio seating) and is immaculate and well-maintained by friendly staff. Access to the beach is down a gentle hill about 300 yards without crossing any major roads. The beach is very flat and safe for kids. Will definitely stay here in the future.

The hotel appeared recently updated. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff not good at keeping coffee available in the morning. Restaurant staff was cordial but not attentive, service was extremely slow, and food did not match the high pricing.

We checked in as a family of three after arriving from another hotel we booked on line. That one was a huge disappointment and we were very fortunate to find accomodations at the Agate Beach Inn. Amy at the front desk found us a very nice room on the 6th floor- highest floor - away from the elevators. It had all the amenities and was all we expected. A short walk - 10 minutes - from our room to the beach. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant. The lobby has good coffee available all day and nie views of the Pacific. There is plenty of parking and it is located minutes from all the 'must sees' in the Newport area. This hotel is a very good value for the money and ALL the staff we interacted with were helpful, friendly, and seemed to take a great deal of pride in the work they do, the hotel guests, and their employer. If going to Newport in the future, YES, we will stay at this property again if the rates remian as they are now in August 2019. My only complaint if one needs to be mentioned is that our room was not made up until later in the day,, around 4 PM. Minor inconvenience.

I can recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, perfect location for the beaches, restaurant and bar area are clean, complimentary wine hour is a great opportunity to chat with other guests. Short taxi ride to local food for dinner.

We stayed 2 nights on vacation. Check in was a problem even though we are Diamond Elite members. We had requested 1pm check-in, our room not ready until after 4pm. Unfriendly and incompetent front desk. Lots of excuses. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The facility and grounds were recently remodeled and attractive. Too bad the service didn't match. They put us in a pet room and refused to change, we did not want a pet room. We were awakened by barking dogs and pet noise. The carpet had suspicious brown spots on it. Strong deodorant smell.

Excellent hotel. Clean, fresh and new looking. We thought it a bit pricey, when we made the reservation, but upon arrival, we loved the location, view and amenities at the hotel. Restaurant and food were only OK. We would go elsewhere to eat next time.

About 100 family members from across the country gathered at the Agate Beach Inn for 4 nights. Our time together could not have been better. From the conference room we had access to 24/7 to the convenient restaurant, to the beautiful view from the room, to wine tasting each evening,to the extremely friendly/helpful staff--our stay could not have been better. Our stay this second time was even better than the first and we will gather at Agate Beach Inn for our next reunion too!

overwhelmed and untrained front desk, waitstaff and housekeeping, plumbing and soundproofing sketchy, no complementary breakfast which was quite expensive. Pluses were the view, access to a beautiful beach, outdoor seating area. Hope they get some of the glitches fixed. Beautiful site!

We've returned here a few times. Attentive staff. Thoughtful upgrades (morning coffee; wine and cheese reception in the evenings; cucumber water all day). We didn't quite make it to the (new) salt pool. Nor did we make it to the gym. But both looked inviting. Clean, pretty, spacious room.

We have stayed at this hotel before the updates. I have to say since the remodel this is one stop shop in my mind. Access to the beach, pool, lounge view of the lighthouse and more. They even have a treasure chest for younger kids to pick out a prize. They have games available all over the hotel. They offer beach blankets as well. They have a new fire pit complete with chairs and marshmallow roastingng sticks. The only thing is I wish they have locks on the bathroom doors in the bedrooms. We will come back again!!

Stayed here two nights on our Oregon vacation. Room was nice and clean. Liked the decor of room and hotel overall. Set up is kind of different with parking on hill and entering on the 6th floor...but can be helped much since it's built on a hill. Views are beautiful. It can be a hike to the beach...and from the start of the beach to the water. But it's great once you get there! The patio area is nice in the morning or evening to watch the sunset. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful property steps from the beach pier and the usual Best Western high quality in rooms in service. Great outdoor patio with to fire pits. The rooms were nice super clean as always. Restaurant was great

We spent a night at this beautiful hotel during a recent coast road trip, and out of 5 hotels this was by far our favorite! The property is gorgeous, the rooms are divine, and the staff is incredibly friendly. We had our dog with us, so we were expecting to get stuck in a crappy room (this is common in many hotels), but instead we were given a lovely room on the 6th floor with a partial ocean view! It was a quick walk over the Skywalk to get to a pet area, which was much appreciated! Our dog was also allowed to come to the evening wine social in the lobby (which was GREAT - we met a lot of fellow travelers and had a blast), as well as the patio of the bistro/lounge (we ate an AMAZING dinner there and watched the sunset). Best of all is the easy access to the beach...and Agate Beach is the best! Really, there are so many little touches at this hotel, all of which add up to making your stay a great one. We wish we'd booked more than one night here...you can bet we'll be back next summer for a MUCH longer stay!

This is a fantastic inn! It has beautiful views of the beach and let me say that beach sunsets are beautiful! The room we stayed in is a room without the beach view from the room. The room pivoted here was very clean and extremely well kept. The beds are very high quality and comfortable. The inn offers a workout room, swimming pool, and many other amenities! Well worth the price charged!!!
