« Great hotel: good location, good service »

We usually stay at New Orleans Hilton, Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriot, but decided to give Best Western a try. This hotel is lovely! The location is perfect for easy walking to the French Quarter, streetcar stop, Aquarium, casino, multiple restaurants(the Ruby Slipper is across the street). The room was lovely: excellent decorations, comfortable bed, good size. Free wi fi. Valet was friendly and provided quick service. The desk employees were friendly and helpful. Price was good for downtown N.O. Will definitely stay here again.

« Great Location and Staff »

This hotel is in an excellent location for all the things we were interested in doing on our vacation. It is an easy walk to the French Quarter, easily accessible to the street car and bus, and easy walk to the riverfront. We also visited the WWII museum which was close by. You will not be able to find a friendlier staff anywhere. Ariel checked us in and as so sweet and accommodating to our request. On one occasion I stopped by the desk with a few questions about our plans and Danielle was so helpful. Everyone of the staff always had a smile and seem to really enjoy their jobs. Anthony checked us out very early and was so nice! It was wonderful to be treated so well that early in the morning (6AM). Our room was very clean and in order. We had a king room on the 7th floor. The breakfast was very nice and plentiful. It was great to be able to eat at the motel without going out to find breakfast every morning. The staff opened up the meeting room for extra seating and it was a bonus to have the extra space. Eggs, pancakes, sausage, coffee, juice, pastries, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. It was a great start to the morning, gave us plenty of fuel to start exploring this beautiful city. This was a second stay at this motel, and it will be the place I stay for my next visit!

    « Hidden Gem »

Within walking distance from everything we wanted to see in New Orleans. The facility is nice and clean and very helpful staff. The free breakfast was excellent with lots of options to choose from. Go down early for breakfast or it will be a little crowded. You do have to purchase valet parking which is an additional cost but it is worth it. Plan ahead if you need your car during peak hours because of the traffic and the one way streets it can take a little bit to get your vehicle. If you are looking for a clean place in a good location at a great price, this is it! We will definitely stay here again when we visit New Orleans.

« Best Western St Christoper »

Great location just outside French Quarter, close to streetcar lines. Close but not too close. Easy access to French quarter and Garden district. Parking is an issue anywhere in that area, but the valets were great.

    « New Orleans Vacation »

Excellent hotel near the French Quarter. We enjoyed being so close to everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good selection including fresh fruit, pastries, eggs and pancakes.

    « Football & Halloween »

Stayed at the Best Western St. Christopher Hotel and found the Hotel to be very Good. Location was Great for walking to most spots we wanted to visit, French Quarter, River Boat, and the many restaurants located near by. We also visited the Second World War Museum that was very good and only about 20 min walk. We did attend the Seahawks / Saints game on Oct 30th and again was about 20min walk to stadium. Halloween parade and thousands of people dress up was something we took part in and would recommend to any visiting the City, "Loved it" .

« Three nights convenient to conference »

Attended a large conference at Sheraton and Marriott on Canal but looked for a hotel close by that was more affordable. This was a great choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms small but comfy bed and updated bath. Quiet and comfortable. Highly recommended

    5
    « Excellent for a business trip »

Stayed here for 3 days while in town for a conference. The location could not have been any more convenient. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and comfortable (although a little small). A huge full breakfast was available for a good range of hours. I would definitely stay here again.

    « Wonderful Hotel »

Lovely hotel, overlooks the French Quarter, convenient and within walking distance of restaurants & attractions. Staff from housekeeping to front desk wonderfully helpful - shout out to Sean (front desk) a delight and extremely professional.

« Close to French Quarter »

We were lucky to have a room overlooking the river which was beautiful, the weather treated us well! It was a super room with good sized bathroom, king bed.Enough for us with the breakfast to start the day well.So close to everything we wanted to see it was brilliant , in fact we've already booked in again! We self parked and walked but they do valet park if you can wait for your car when you check out as it's about 20-30 minutes wait.Such a good find!!

    « amazing service »

I have to say that the service at this hotel is exceptional. in special mentioned Malcolm who has giving us the possibility to store our lugages at no extra cost. we were quite concern about it and he was just lovely giving us the option. No extra worries and able to explore the city! Thank you!

Very good location, walking distance to the French Quarter, River walk, Aquarium. Excellent eating places, convenience stores within walking distance. All the staff were well groomed and friendly. The WIFI was easy to connect and fast.

« Good Location when visiting New Orleans »

This was the third time we have visited New Orleans, one time staying in the garden district and one time on Bourbon Street and I think this hotel had to best location. Close to everything, but in a quieter section. It is in walking distance to many great places to eat and things to see when visiting the city. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, always smiling and greeting us when we entered the hotel. We only ate breakfast on one day and it was very good, many hot items. I requested a room on a higher floor, and we were placed on the 6th floor. I think it did help block out some of the street noise. The only problem we had was I requested a 2:30am wake up call and they called us at 12:30. It was a very minor issue. I would stay here again if visiting New Orleans.

    2
« Good service but bad outdated hotel »

The people giving service were very friendly and helpful but the hotel was very outdated and worn down. I had to clean the drawers before I put my clothes in them since they were very dirty& I had to request a repair on the self that held the fridge since that was broken. The bathroom had only one towel holder over the toilet so I used a clothes hanger for the towels and a fold out suitcase holder for other items in the bathroom. The shower curtain snap was broken so water leaked on the floor. But the people of NOLA were VERY friendly. Enjoyed our trip very much! Cost a lot though.

« Very nice hotel, excellent location, great service... »

Our New Orleans hotel was selected by a brother-in-law which, of course, is always dangerous. However, it turned out to be an excellent choice. The hotel is virtually across the street from the French Quarter and walking distance to the World War II museum and many other New Orleans attractions. It is in a 130+ year old building which has been very nicely renovated. The service was excellent, everyone we met was genuinely friendly and helpful. The free continental breakfast was very nice and more than continental. Price was very reasonable for the location. Our room was well appointed, clean and large. The only two negatives were no bedside reading light on one side and no counter space in the bathroom. The only parking available is valet which is virtually the only choice for downtown New Orleans hotels. Minor issues considering. We would certainly not hesitate to recommend this hotel for New Orleans visitors.

I enjoyed my stay here. I was especially impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome and to ensure that all my needs were met even before I asked for help. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Great Stay »

This hotel is right off of Canal and a block from the French Quarter, maybe five blocks down to the water. Great staff, lovely room, and wonderful beds. It was our first time in NOLA and the location just couldn't have been more perfect.

Hotel staff could not be nicer. Beds comfortable and shower strong. Right next door to ruby slipper for breakfast so able to put name in for reservation then come back while waiting to shower! Simple breakfast at hotel.

« Great Location and Property »

I would highly recommend the St. Christopher Hotel for your stay in New Orleans. It was conveniently located, the staff was fantastic and the rooms were comfortable. I have stayed at several hotels in the area, and this was is definitely now at the top of my list.

    « Nice place »

Stayed here for my birthday weekend with the family. Was very clean, friendly staff and check in/out was simple and quick. Parked 2 blocks down for $12 a night cheaper a than valet parking. Breakfast is the usual but good, nice dining area. Rooms can be a little pricey but I booked a good deal through hotels.com. only one block from Canal St. Then 2 more blocks to The Aquarium. Lots of shops and stores within walking distance. Would definitely stay again.

    4
« Great Location, Great Value »

I may stay here again if they fix the loud sound of the air conditioning unit in room 905. It was very distracting and annoying. But the location was perfect, in walking distance of the French Quarter and a short drive to the jazz clubs on Frenchman street. Very short walk to the casino.

    « Nice Stay »

My family and I stayed here for two nights while visiting New Orleans. The staff provided excellent service and all were extremely friendly. The breakfast was good and I appreciated that it didn't close until 11. The room had a lot of character and the bathroom was a nice size. We did hear a lot of street noise (sirens, drunk people, trash pick up) in the late evening and early morning but I'm sure that would happen anywhere in this location. The location was great walking distance for most areas. We stayed with two pets which was nice because not many hotels are pet friendly. It was a little frustrating that we had to walk about half a mile one way to find the closest grass area for my dogs to go to the bathroom. This isn't the hotel's fault but since they're pet friendly maybe they should consider providing a pet relief area.

    5
« Good place to stay »

This hotel is within walking distance of many NOLA sights. We walked or rode the trolleys everywhere! We felt very comfortable and safe here. Our room didn't have a window, but that was good. It was very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good too.

    4
    « Why not?! »

This was our second time staying here (our first stay was in August) & it's been consistent every stay. Great location, very comfortable beds & pillows, & friendly (also very informative) valet guys. They were accommodating for my 4-legged child which is hard to find and you can't beat the price. We'll be back again!

    « BW Plus - New Orleans »

We were very pleased with our stay at the BW St. Christopher Hotel in New Orleans. It was everything we wanted in a hotel as well as being conveniently located and price effective. This will be our first choice for our next visit to New Orleans.

    5
    « Much needed vacation... »

The hotel itself was average, BUT the staff made it an incredible stay. Anything and everything we needed was provided. Our concierge actually escorted us to our restaurant for dinner one night. Thank you Eddie!!!

    4
    « Fully satisfied »

Fully met our expectations for the class of hotel. Clean, friendly, easy to get around/location. Quiet room, breakfast included. Considerations- only a small armoire to hang clothes. Small room. No cocktail lounge- I thought I'd seen online they had one but it has closed.

    5
    « Good choice! »

We had a pleasant experience at the St Christoper. Staff was friendly and helpful, (especiallly Danielle and Justin) the facilities comfortable, and walking distance to EVERYTHING. We would definitely choose it again!

  • 5
    « Great Property »

The location of the hotel is perfect as most everything we wanted to do is within a comfortable walking distance. This was not our first stay at this hotel - but it was certainly our best! I don't know whether it was due to our Best Western Rewards status or not - but the room we were assigned was spectacular! On the top floor - the room was spacious - with a very large bathroom and a view of the river that would take your breath away. The staff throughout our stay was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly. In the past, this "plus" really seemed to be lacking. As noticeable as the difference was - it appears that management has taken definitive steps to address and improve it. Their efforts were noticed and appreciated.

« My Favorite Hotel in NOLA »

I have stayed at Best Western St. Christopher twice this year. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice, and it is in a great location. It is located close enough to the French Quarter to walk and enjoy it, but located just west of Canal by about half a block so you don't have to hear the late night noise of the Quarter.

    5
    « Early Check-in »

We arrived very early from driving all night and we were able to check in to our rooms at 8:00 am versus the normal 3:00. This was great as we wanted to start our day but needed to freshen up. Excellent service the entire trip!

    4
    « Great location-nice stay »

We did not need a car. Everything we needed was within walking distance, including the Superdome. the room is smaller than average but still adequate. We werent in the room long. The view was of buildings and the water pressure was low but those were the two only negatives. the staff was friendly. the rooms were clean. the bed was comfortable.

    5
« Great staff and hospitality »

Stayed at this hotel on a family trip. The staff were extremely hospitable and friendly. They helped us with restaurant recommendations and assisted in booking different tours. Overall a great experience at this hotel!

    5
« THE cutest place EVER!!! »

St. Christopher was my first time staying at a "boutique" hotel. It was a great experience. It was almost like spending the night at a family member's house. It was quaint and clean. The free breakfast was a plus as well. The location, which is right off Canal St., was amazing. We sent our car with the valet and hit the pavement! The staff was very nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will be staying again soon!

    5
« Stay in New Orleans »

Very friendly staff, informative and assisted with planning our visit to the French Quarter. Suggested great places to dine and provided discounts to restaurants in the area. Hotel in great location for your visit.

    4
    « Great Location »

Overall I would definitely recommend, overall I like the hotel the personnel the location, breakfast everything was good. TV wasn't great but I didn't go to New Orleans to watch TV. Water pressure was in consistent but didn't effect my shower. It's a very cool rustic rooms with exposed brick great decor.

    5
« an excellent choice for staying in NOLA »

St. Christopher Hotel is a lovely hotel in an historic building recently repurposed as a hotel. The exposed brick walls throughout the hotel add a warm touch. Stylish new, award winning decor. Outstanding staff (Ariel, Deidre, really everyone). Clean, modestly priced, comfortable beds (and I have a back injury), & great location. WWII Museum and Ogden Art Museum a 15 minute walk in one direction; the Mississippi riverfront with plazas, Aquarium, streetcar and discount mall 2 blocks away; French Quarter two blocks away. Excellent value in excellent location in a great city.

    « Nice but.......... »

I want to start out by saying it was recommended to stay here from a co worker of mine. Excellent location to be able to get to everything from Bourbon St, to Canal St to Decatur St, to shopping and the casino. Great curb side experience every day coming and going, awesome friendly staff. there is currently no liquor license here so the small bar area is closed in the evenings. The morning free breakfast we were not impressed it has your normal options for continental free but the muffins were very crumbly and the danish's old, the sausage on day 4 of being there was like heated up all of the leftovers from previous days. spend your money and go next door to the famous ruby slipper, that is worth every penny! The room, was exactly as pictured, brick wall old world charm etc. however, plumbing and water is an issue in this hotel. went to brush my teeth and nothing but warm water every day. went to take a shower and the water pressure all over the place every day. 1 of 2 elevators was being worked on for 3 days we saw and we chatted with the repair guys they werent happy campers. Bathroom layout there is really no counter top as they have pedastal sinks, they have a shallow depth ledge over the toilet but i always had to keep in mind to keep the lid closed plus the towel holder shelving was above the ledge over the toilet so if i did put anything on the ledge it was covered by the hanging towels. we thought the bed was great until our last night there I had trouble with the power outlet that was behind the bed, I had a few items plugged into to charge over night and they kept losing power on and off throughout the night, when we pulled the bed back we found womens underware. eewww. no words after that and it was our last night there so when we checked out we decided this would not be a hotel we would stay at again. we were dissappointed by the end of the week, however it did serve a purpose we needed a place to stay & lay our heads and it provided that for us. The staff is the difference here very good staff.

« Nice hotel. Very friendly and efficient staff »

We had a nice stay at this property. The ladies at the check-in desk were very friendly and seemed to be happy to help us. We appreciate that! The room was clean & quiet. The air conditioning works!! Standard breakfast. Valet attendants were nice & fast.

    3
« Not Worth the Cost »

The staff were all very friendly, up there with the best in my experiences. I received a room with exposed brick as requested and the continental breakfast was plentiful with a nice area to eat. My problem was with the room itself. While clean and nicely decorated, all the plumbing had issues. Only warm water from sink, no hot, no cold. The toilet handle needed to be held for nearly 10 seconds for it to completely flush. The shower handle was extremely difficult to turn on. My wife could not do it herself. I took a cold shower as I couldn't figure out how to get hot. My wife eventually found the hot water setting. There were loose ceramic tiles in the bathroom and all the caulking needed to be re-done. Beyond the bathroom, none of the satellite channels worked, so I couldnt watch the ball game while the misses was getting ready. The room itself was extremely small. Barely enough room to set up our suitcase on a stand. I paid nearly $200 for this room because of its location and we enjoy the "warehouse" look of the rooms. It just isn't worth that amount of money. I've had MUCH nicer rooms for less, even in nice locations such as this.

    4
    « Great Location! »

We chose St Christophers for NYE to be close to everything. We weren't disappointed locations was fantastic.Rooms are small but comfortable.Breakfast was enjoyable & plentiful.Staff were helpful & polite.Bourbon St was a short stroll & the river was a pleasant walk around.Parking is off site & valet only & not cheap. On the whole was a great place for our stay we would return.

    5
    « Super awesome place »

This is a really cool, swanky hotel. it felt like staying in a local place than a chain hotel. real close to everything walking distance. the staff were real nice and was prompt when we asked for extra towels and such. I would definitely consider it again.

    4
« Hanging out in New Orleans »

Everything for me was in walking distance. When I arrived I parked my car and never had to move until check out time. I will be making future plans to come back to New Orleans and stay at the same hotel.

« Fantástica localización, pero ojo con el "parking" / Great location, watch out the "parking" »

This hotel has a great location, just 5 minutes walking from the Cathedral, French Quarter, and the harbour. The rooms are cozy, clean and the beds are wonderful. BUT the a/c system needs to be renewed, as it's very noisy. The lounge is crowded at breakfast,it should be a bit bigger. For us, the worst thing was that we booked the hotel because of the location and the parking. Well, the parking costs $33/day, but it's not a real parking, we discovered they actually offer vallet parking. This was a bit dissapointed altough the service was good. So be prepared to pay $33 + tips.....

« Best Best Western, and great location. »

The photos looked good, the reviews looked good. I love staying in nicer hotels, but we decided to give the Best Western Plus a try in New Orleans, and we're glad we did! It certainly punched above its pay-grade, and even though some of the décor and fit and finish showed its low cost, overall, this hotel was a very pleasant experience. It was also great to see a hotel so focused on service, with a great front desk and valet, both of which were very accommodating. It's also very well located. We stayed at the Aloft last year, and while it was the same distance from Bourbon Street, the 5 block move to the Best Western put us in easy walking distance to Harrah's, the Aquarium, Outlet Shopping, and all of the other Riverfront amenities as well. My only criticism, really, is that it's built oddly into an older building, and to fit more floors into the existing shell, our room window only went halfway up the wall, with the curtains framing a brick wall instead.

    4
« Rustic Stay close to everything »

This hotel was unlike any I've ever stayed in before. The exposed brick wall in our room was so neat and beautiful. Great location. It's walking distance from everything!! We really enjoyed our stay and I know we will stay here again.

« Easy location and great hotel »

We spent a week here. Staff were very helpful - offering to help with our one year old at breakfast. Room was large and clean. Welcome/ reception desk Boone dour yours for us and gave us accurate recommendations. Amazing hotel

    « Very nice hotel »

Hotel is located in a very convenient location. Close to casio, trolley and plenty of dining options. Decor is nice and have exposed brick. Staff was quick to give directions and offer transportation if needed. Room and building felt safe with a desk person and valet in lobby area every time I passed through. Room has a travel safe. Uber and cabs are plenty in the area.

« Great hotel near the downtown of New Orleans »

The hotel is located near the downtown, we can go on foot at the French market. It is a bathtub Spa, the place is quiet. Enjoy a varied breakfast buffet. Available coffee all day long. The bed is comfortable. Great value

    « Pre-cruie hotel »

We booked this hotel to stay at the night before our cruise ship left New Orleans. We made it to the hotel just in time to checkin and walk to Bourbon Street for dinner. We enjoyed being able to walk to everything in New Orleans. The room was clean and the location was excellent for us. We had a great time on our anniversary cruise and this hotel helped us get the trip started right!

« Satisfied our needs in a hotel »

My brothers and I were looking for somewhere inexpensive to stay in a good location for our trip to NOLA. I'm a rewards member, so I chose this Best Western. We checked in around 7pm, and there was only one person available to help us, but a long line of other people checking in in front of us, so the process was longer than I'd like. The rooms were clean, I really liked the exposed brick in the rooms. There was a lot of noise from other guests nearby, but that wasn't the hotel's fault. There was a stain on our sheets and on one of our towels, but the room didn't appear dirty, just some stained linen. We used express checkout the next morning which came in handy because there was a HUGE line of people checking out. If we waited it would have been easily over a half hour. However, I only knew about the express checkout because I read a binder stuffed under my TV. I wish I was told while I was checking in. The room was nice, especially considering the price. It satisfied my family's needs during our trip, and we would definitely stay again.

    5
« Great room and friendly service. »

From check in to check out we were very impressed. The location is ideal, right on the edge of the French Quarter. The building has a solid feel and the room was large and comfortable. All the staff were excellent and the housekeeping staff speak English which is unusual and very helpful. Breakfast is as good as any we had in our six weeks in the USA. Price was quite reasonable for the quality and location.

Not worth the money to have a room with roaches. unprofessional general manager who is never on duty. I was very disturbed by her nasty tone with housekeeping.very clueless staff.stay far away from this hotel.

    « Great Location »

Check in was easy and the front desk staff was helpful. This is a great location walking distance to everywhere we had a car and didn't use it one time while we were in NOLA.The hotel was very nice and clean. I didn't have any complaints i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planing a trip to NOLA . FREE WIFI !!!

« Good, need to work with valet parking issues »

Nice hotel, area , staff , everything, but the valet parking was not mentioned went I book the hotel and the price is high. Other than that the hotel is great. Location, close to everything. Front desk staff very helpful.

« I would go again and again »

I loved this hotel, everything was perfect, from the scale from 1 to 10 I'll give it a 11 but the breakfast was a 3 :( The workers were very friendly, they help us very fast, the view was great and everything for that price? I couldn't even believe it. There are parking lots very close for around $30 that's the only thing but is still perfect.

    5
    « great hotel »

The hotel was conveniently located to every place we wanted to go, therefor eliminating taxis. They has valet parking for the car which we did not need. The hotel was close to several great place to eat. The hotel gave us directions and suggestions on where to eat.

    « Great location »

Good hotel. Good size rooms. Clean rooms. Breakfast choice ok. Eating off disposable plates cups and cutlery not good. Pancakes at breakfast were delicious. Good location just off canal street. Plenty of eating places within walking distance.

« Great location, friendly staff »

We were able to check in a little early. Saved money because they showed us where to go for parking instead of valet. Being in the business district this hotel is pretty quiet, but within walking distance of Jackson Park and the entire French Quarter. The street car pick up is a block away. Purchase an all day pass for $3 if you plan on using it more than a couple times. If you want to get drinks for the hotel, I'd suggest a nearby Wall-Greens instead of the corner liquor store. You will get much better prices.

    « Lovely Hotel »

My fiancé and I stayed here for a romantic weekend in New Orleans. Neither of us had stayed at this hotel before and were both very satisfied with our stay. The valet service was awesome, with our car being delivered out front when needed and parked for us when we were done. Eddy (our valet) jumped through hoops for us. I think he rather enjoyed driving my red mustang! The room was spacious and clean. My fiancé had requested a single queen bed and we were upgraded to a king bed for no extra charge. We were within walking distance of most of the things we wanted to do, and a half block from the trolley, which you can ride all day for $3.00. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in New Orleans on a budget.

« Great find near Bourbon Street »

We had trouble finding a room with two queen beds and happened upon this gem. It's a five minute walk from Bourbon Street. The room was very clean, although the bathroom was a little dated. The decor of the property was interesting having been re-purposed. The staff were exceptional, particularity Malcolm and Eddie who are the first staff to greet you.The breakfast was the only real disappointment of the stay. The location makes this a great value for the money.

« Malcolm and Ronald are great »

I am from Louisiana and live just a few hours on I-10 west. It is our first time staying at the Best Western St. Christopher Hotel and I can't believe I have missed this place in the past. It is a hidden gem just steps from Burbon Street and the rates are very reasonable. The check in was effortless although parking for valet ONLY service is a little confusing at first. Malcolm made parking and moving in easy and Ronald took care of checking us into our room. The rooms are nice and great for a good price.

« Great visit, excellent customer service »

My friend and I traveled here for the 4th of July weekend and we stayed in the Best Western St. Christopher hotel, located just minutes away from Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. I have stayed here a few times in the past and have always had a really nice stay. The staff is always delightful; Ariel was exceptional with her customer service skills, she's a real keeper! There was a problem with our room at check in, but it was promptly and professionally taken care of. This Best Western truly follows its ICARE guidelines (I happen to be very familiar with them). Thank you for an awesome stay.

This was a great location with plenty of amenities for a sight seeing family. Everyone with the hotel were very helpful & knowledgeable! Plenty of great suggestions for fabulous dining in New Orleans. The hotel was charming & clean and met all our needs.

« Quick trip to New Orleans »

We were only at the St. Christopher Hotel, New Orleans, for one night as we were traveling on to other cities. The hotel is conveniently located in the French Quarter area. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was clean, and the price was good. Be aware that the bathroom has a pedestal sink (at least in our room). This wasn't convenient for brushing teeth, applying makeup or using a curling iron. Overall, I would stay here again with the hope that the bathroom might be reconfigured.

« Good place for travelers for Essence Festival »

We enjoyed the hotel. Complimentary breakfast was mediocre, something to fill your tummy temporarily until you get real cuisine in the area. Valet parking was affordable but they charge daily. Close to Bourbon Street and Poydras and we walked to the Dome for the show (:15min). ATM right outside hotels and many convenient stores and great restaurants nearby. I may book again.

    « Mardi Gras »

Last minute Booking for parade weekend in New Orleans. This was a nice historic and charming hotel. The staff very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Really good location. Close to all attractions, resturants and French Quarter. My only complaint was when we arrived they charged us ten bucks each for a bracelet to enter and exit the hotel. They said it was for Mardi Gras. It needed to be worn the three days we stayed. During our stay no one checked bracelets. Rip off! Should have been noted when we booked.

    « Great Hotel »

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious enough, staff were amazingly friendly (everyone), breakfast was excellent. The hotel is located just outside the French Quarter, and very easy to walk to the area or take the streetcar on Canal Street. Location is Excellent and because it's just off the Quarter, it is quiet and safe. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

« Nice hotel good service »

They allowed us to check in early which was super nice. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was a standard hot continental. The staff was nice and accommodating. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops. I would stay there again should I return to NOLA.

    « EXCELLENT Staff! »

We booked here extremely last minute just to stay in New Orleans before our flight the next morning. The hotel is nice and affordable. I really want to commend the staff. My family misplaced our camera. They worked to locate our camera and not only that made sure it was secure and mailed back to us quickly. Garren at the front desk is wonderful and the entire staff has that New Orleans hospitality. Overall, GREAT experience.

    « Old charming hotel »

We stayed here two nights. The Queen room is not big, but enough - typical 4* by european standards. Good wi-fi. Really good free breakfast. Very clean. Excellent location - next to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, but very quiet place. Really excellent service. The only problem was too noisy air conditioner in the room.

« Affordable hotel in a great location »

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was relatively cheap for a two night stay for four adults. Free breakfast and wifi were included. The rooms were modern (with a bit of a rustic feel) and clean. The staff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful. There wasn't a great variety of food for breakfast, but it was sufficient. The location of the hotel is great. It is within walking distance of the French Quarter. It is also within walking distance of Harrah's Casino and the Riverwalk Mall. The only downside to this hotel is the valet situation. There was one valet worker who had an "I don't care attitude" and he was hardly ever there when we needed to retrieve our car in the evenings. However, the rest of the valet folks I encountered during the day were nice. It is $31 for standard cars and $36 for larger vehicles (vans, SUVs, etc.). These prices are not including tax. Also, it takes about 15-20 min. to retrieve the car because their lot is 5 blocks away. There is an open lot just behind the hotel for $25/day with in and out privileges. However, it is not monitored. In all, because of its great value and superb location, I recommend this hotel for your New Orleans visit!

Very nice place for walking in French Quarter, amazing design (old French style), very friendly staff. But little bit dusty rooms on corners and very small breakfast room with limited number of choices.

    « Nice Hotel - great price!! »

My husband and I spent one night in New Orleans and stayed at this hotel. It's a great location and nice hotel. Everything was in good condition and very clean. We were able to check in a few hours early. We booked through booking.com and received a great rate on this hotel!

    « Good location »

Very friendly welcome as soon as we arrived late at night. Our room was at the front of the building therefore we had a window. Room was a good size. Full hot breakfast was amazing. Couldn't go hungry with the amount of food there was. The breakfast area was a nice little French themed room. Location was just off canal street which meant it was very close to everything including Bourbon Street, Steamboat Natchez, Riverwalk Outlets and the casino. Malcolm was very helpful, a lovely guy and great knowledge. Overall a great place to stay in New Orleans at a reasonable price

« Staff was wonderful and met all our needs. »

The staff here was great. They met all of our needs, whether we needed directions to different places or needed a cab or menus of places that delivered. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was great and they had a variety of hot and cold items. Every area was well decorated and clean. I would stay here again when coming to this city.

« My first trip to New Orleans and at this hotel »

I recently went to New Orleans by myself and was very hesitant on all I can do! But the staff at Best Western Plus St. Christopher completely made me feel welcomed! Desmond, Gerren, Ariel, Danielle, & Malcome were always willing to recommend places to go and things to do and seeing that I was alone- always were willing to have pleasant conversations with me. They truly made my first time experience at New Orleans something to be remembered! Their professionalism as well as pleasant demeanors put me at ease! Thanks guys for everything! Next time I come, I've gotta stay at St. Christopher again!

« Four days in New orleans »

Such an exciting city. The hotel is situated just off Canal Street which is the widest street in America and just a short walk away to Bourbon Street where jazz is just pouring out of the bars. Just another shortish walk you come to Frenchmans street where again the Jazz is so exciting and so many great groups and singers it's difficult to decide where to stop for a drink. Back to the hotel, st Christopher is very clean and friendly especially Malcam. He really was helpful and a lovely guy. The only fault I found with the hotel was there were no windows and we had to ring down to reception to find out what the weather was like. The reason for there being no windows all the buildings are priced on width and the buildings are built lengthways without tax. Therefore, no windows except at the very front. Bus tours very interesting and very good value on the street cars. Very hot but torrential downpours are very common but over in minutes.

« Great Location near to French Quater »

The hotel is based in a busy one way street which was difficult to get into on the day of our arrival, due to the major 4 day music festival that was finishing that Sunday. We had prearranged to have concierge parking, unaware of the music event and therefore had to pay a premium rate for parking! This was not made clear to us, at all, when booking and whilst we were willing to pay, it might have been known in advance notice as it was quite costly. If we had known the area better, we would have used an alternative car parking location nearby. The hotel room was on the 6th floor and was an internal room without windows, this was not a problem for us, as it meant the room was lovely and quiet. The room was very comfortable with an excellent bathroom. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the river front and the french quarter, so was an excellent location. We had no complaints about the staff, who to a man( or woman) were charming and very helpful. The buffet breakfast is served in an open area to the rear of reception and was regularly stocked up with the usual breakfast fare. Again, the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

« Good hotel but expensive for what we received. »

This hotel is in the perfect location; however, I had to give it 3 stars due to a few things. It was not very clean, the parking cost way to much, and the bath tub wouldn't hold water. Also the breakfast was terrible for the price. We have stayed in smaller Inns with better breakfast.

Hands Down... This Hotel has charm, warmth and the Staff has a way of making you feel like Family coming to visit. Caroline (MOD) and her staff made my experience feel personal. The Hotel itself is charming. Exposed brick added an Urban, yet modern feel. The Valet guys were personable and a great resource for places to eat and walking distance to the Hotel... Nearly every attraction is in Walking distance. I Look forward to my next stay with these guys. *****

« Excellent Location, Congenial People! »

This hotel has it all, old-time charm, location, friendly customer service at a reasonable price! Step out the front door, make a right, and you're on Canal Street! Two blocks from Harrah's Casino. Less than 15 minute walk to Jackson Square. Our room had exposed brick walls and a charming bathroom. The beds were super comfortable. Full hot and cold breakfast buffet served every morning in a cute French-themed area. The Concierage is very helpful. If you need anything, just ask Summer at the front desk... she's awesome. We spent a wonderful 4 days here and would definitely return!

The front desk staff, the valet/baggage staff, the maid service and breakfast staff were all very friendly and helpful. We loved the suite decor and cleanliness. Beds were very comfortable. The price was very low in comparison for what you receive. Excellent hotel.

« Personality in the right place »

I was attending a convention held at one of the big chain hotels. However, the room rate at the "official" hotel was more than I wanted to pay, and--in any case--I wasn't excited about an "anywhere, USA" lodging. A friend found the St. Christopher, a great discovery. The price was much less than the convention hotel, and the location was just across the street (on the other side of Canal from the French Quarter). The room was handsome; the staff was friendly and efficient; WiFi was included in the price, as was a breakfast buffet. All in all, an excellent stay.

    « Great location »

We stayed for 2 nights and loved every minute after we got over the cost of the valet parking. Malcolm met us at the curb and helped us unload and get to the reception desk. He was exceptional and always available to help us with questions and directions. An exceptional employee. We were near the end of a month long road trip and have had a few hit and miss experiences of hotel staff. Malcolm restored my faith. The breakfast was just fine and the view of the river we had from our 9th floor room allowed us to watch ships and paddle steamers come and go. The room was clean however if I had one criticism it was the pedestal basin which left nowhere to put my toiletries. Short walk to both the casino and Bourbon St made this a great place to stay.

    « Wonder Personnel »

Trying to check into this hotel is a challenge. There is limited single parking out front on the street. Plus the corner street to the left is one way, going the opposite direction if you thought you were going to turn and find a parking space next to the hotel on that corner. Our stay started off badly since we were not told there was a parking fee when I made the reservation on the 800 number. The fee was $36.00 plus a valet tax. When you are staying multiple days that certainly adds up. There is also a safe fee for each room. All total the fees ran over $83.00 for 2 days. This obviously was not the hotel's fault since I had not called them directly. I was also not impressed with the sheets on the bed. They did not have fitted bottom sheets for the queen beds. Maybe if you don't move around during the night they wouldn't have been a problem, but I do move a lot. It ended up with me sleeping on parts of the mattress since the sheet did not stay put. Since I was not on my "home" mattress, I was not very happy with the situation. That all being said, the people who work at this hotel are very courteous and friendly. When we checked in, Danielle and Malcolm helped make our stay comfortable.

« Wonderful Dog Friendly Hotel Downtown »

I absolutely loved this hotel. I was only there for one night, but the hotel staff was so helpful and lovely. I was also traveling with a large dog and the staff could not have been more pleased to have him. The room was charming in a way only New Orleans can provide with its street views and exposed brick walls. It is walking distance to the Quarter and the waterfront, which was perfect for us. I would definitely recommend this charming hotel.

    « People without a heart »

We stayed here one night. Due to a case of fraud making me unable to use my debit or credit cards, for an additional night by the noon checkout time we were kicked out of this establishment. I talked to the staff the night before and explained the dilemma and was told it would not be a problem. I was having cash wired to me but had to pick it up at western union. I am in a wheelchair and it is difficult for me to get places quickly. At 11:15 staff called and informed me that would not be able to stay after noon. I knew it would take at least an hour to pick up the money and return to the hotel. Therefore me and my 3 children and 15 suitcases were told they could not extend check out. Let me stress we were not trying to stay for free, just needed a little time to pick up the cash.

« Fascinating history, convenient and a staff that exceeds expectations! »

We decided to take a long weekend in New Orleans for Memorial Day. In spite of mixed reviews regarding this property, the unique history and location settled our decision to stay here and we could not have been more pleased. The staff (Jasmina, Simone, Danielle and Malcolm - you all are amazing!) went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay warm, welcoming and exceptional. While we are focusing on staff we interacted with moreso, there was a refreshing consistency of warmth and professionalism. Hats off to a staff who are clearly customer service oriented. The hotel is gorgeous and is a testament to New Orleans love of authentic preservation. The breakfast was delicious and appropriate and the hotel is located central to every major neighborhood of interest. While the building is old (120 year old exposed brick = divine) it is clean and well appointed. A wonderful experience. We will definitely return.

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel when we decided to do a quick couples getaway trip for my birthday. We really enjoyed everything about this hotel and the area in which it is located. It is close to everything but yet far enough away so that it is not loud at all. We will definitely be returning soon! Great customer service at the front desk and valet!!!

Mrs Summer was extremely helpful and so very kimd, we arrived from Texas at 5am and check in wasnt until 4am, she was able to help us and get us in way sooner than that! Everyone here is very kind and awesome, definitely will be voming back!!!

« Service Saved the Day »

The doormen and desk personnel are among the most service-oriented I have ever seen! They were always available when we needed them, and the quality of their assistance was excellent! The St. C. is easy walking-distance from the Quarter and Museum -- things we came to see. Restaurants, etc. are abundant and close. But proximity to near-chaos has a price in terms of hard-use, tight spaces, and other limitations. The staff "saved the day" for us!

Our first visit to the great city of New Orleans was a pleasurable one. The hotel was clean, the staff were very helpful and polite, went out of their way to help with whatever request we had. « Good hotel »

Just stayed at this hotel in mid-may, great little hotel. The rooms were a bit small but that's what happens with older buildings, the staff was very nice and they knew you. Not too bad of a night stay as this includes wifi and breakfast. There is not much to say about the breakfast as it was a run-of-the-mill hotel breakfast. Good location from the French quarter.

    « Inconsiderate »

My wife had a reservation for this hotel and couldnt make it. She had a traumatic brain injury before her trip. I saw where they took the money out of our bank account. I didnt know where she was supposed to stay and I have been dealing with my wifes injuries in the hospital. I called after I saw the bill go thru our bank and talked to the lady in accounting and told her the situation and she said she couldnt reverse the charges for me. I was upset and just said okay thanks for nothing. I have been dealing with alot lately with wifes injuries , so i didnt want to argue. I would never recommend this place if theyre that coldhearted.

« Excellent experience at a good price »

I looked at many properties, via the internet, in the French Quarter area to book rooms for my family's 3 day trip to NOLA. I chose the St. Christopher based on location, other reviews, and price. We were totally pleased and want to give a shout out to Malcalm, our amazing friendly valet. The front desk and breakfast staff were great too.

    « Cruising »

After our cruise we stayed at the St Christopher. We've stayed there several other times because of its price, cleanliness and location. Malcolm, the doorman, is wonderful helping you out in any way possible. The hotel is close to the trolley and an easy to walk to the French Quarters or the Riverwalk. Our room was small but clean with a very nice bathroom. The only problem we had was that the bed sagged in the middle and we had trouble sleeping. This was the first time we've had a problem. Breakfast offers a variety of items and a nice area to eat in near the lobby. We will stay there again.

    4
« Great staff, good accomodations »

The staff at this hotel were wonderful. All very friendly and helpful. Small tables outside the lobby were great for sitting and watching the crowds go by. Not right on Canal, but half a block down, so less traffic, less craziness right outside the hotel. Amenities were clean and comfortable. Coffee was good, both the in room mini coffee maker stuff and the coffee in the lobby.

    « convenient »

We chose this unit for location, he purpose of the trip was to visit the National Museum of WW II and this was a short walk to it and to the French Quarter. Room was small but clean in a rehabbed old building. There was no view out of the window but it was nice and quiet. Staff was helpful and pleasant. The only negative was that the car was valet parked some distance away. First time I needed it the wait was almost an hour. Second time it was there in less than 20 minutes. Will return on our next visit

« Lets have some fun »

The location was amazing. Close enough to everything but far enough to have peace and quiet. I had a nice room. I will definitely return. The room I had was nice size. I think they have a happy hour in the lobby but I mistook it for a private event so i did not get to partake. I did not spend to much time in my room as it was pretty much only used for sleeping.

« Wonderful Experience! Best Staff In New Orleans!!! »

My Fiance and I are planning our wedding in New Orleans for 2016. We have stayed twice at this hotel and find the service phenomenal. Yes the hotel is a little older but it is kept very clean and the staff is so sweet. Summer was the manager on duty and saved our trip by helping us get a better room than we had. She was so kind and understanding that it is something I will never forget. Thanks Summer! The other staff is great too! The valet gentleman were so sweet and the ladies who run breakfast are so fun. I will always choose this hotel while in New Orleans!

Location is everything. My husband and I were there for 6 nights. It is definitely in the middle of everything and yet off set enough you don't here the Main Street noise. Ariel greeted us and showed us many good places to eat. They were all within walking distance. French quarter was an easy walk we did it at least 2 times a day. On Thursday the hotel had a bar in the lobby cheaper than the restaurants. Malcum our bell hop was the bar keep. He just new what we needed after a long day of shopping. I give him a 5 star for his friendliness.??????????He reserved a cab for us the night before we had to leave at 5 am and then called to verify with me. Hotel was clean breakfast was ok best western usual. By day 5 I needed something else. Would recommend this hotel One of the best week stays Exceeded our expectations

« Great Location and Staff »

Came to New Orleans for my best friend's bachelor party and was extremely happy with the hotel choice. Many of my friends hadn't been to New Orleans and I wanted them to get the full experience by having us stay near the French Quarter. Well they were NOT disappointed by where we were staying. It was no more than a 3 minute walk to the Quarter and 15 minutes to other parts. The staff was incredible! When we got there we were greeted by Malcolm who had our van we drove down valeted. He helped us with our bags and even took them up to our rooms. He gave great suggestions for places to visit in the city and was great. At the front desk Summer was a huge help for us in getting our swamp tour booked. She made all the arrangements. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

The staff at the St Christopher was so helpful in providing us with information and suggestions which far exceeded all our needs. Arial was a joy. She recommended several local attractions for us to see during our stay. Several of the staff members recommend some of their favorite local restaurants for us to get a good taste of New Orleans all turned out to be excellent. The staff was highly trained and very polite. They greeted us in such a warm and friendly way that we will not forget for some time. Great Location.

« Good location and cost »

I really liked the location and cost of this hotel. We were able to walk right over to canal street. The service was great and the staff were super helpful. Checking in and out was easy and nice. I just did not enjoy the bed. My bed had been worn out and when sleeping on it, you kind of sunk to the middle and it made my back hurt bad.

Nice place and friendly staff! Room was fine except for limited counter space in the bathroom. On the edge of the French quarter, perfect for getting to so many places. Would stay here again! « Great Staff and Service »

From the time we checked in, the service was 5 star. Their staff is friendly and attentive and always a pleasure! They greet you every time you walk in the door and are happy to make any requested recommendations. The location is right across the street fro. The streetcar line which makes traveling around the city a breeze. Once you cross Canal Steet, you are just a few short blocks from the heart of the French Quarter. There is also a convenince store right next door. It can be a bit pricey but extremely convenient. The beds are extremely comfortable. We had an interior room with no windows but we did have a great whirlpool tub in out room. Not having a window made it much easier to sleep in after a long night on Bourbon Street. The housekeeping staff is stellar and took excellent care of our room. A special shout out to Malcom and Damien. Their level of service is worth a special mention! I would definitely stay here again!

This was my 3rd time returning to Jazz Fest. Each time at a new hotel and i have to say St Christopher has by far the friendliest and warmest staff. Malcalm, always seemed to be there when you needed him! Very polite, hard working and attentive to our needs. He offered/called a cab to take us to the airport before we had even asked (we were about to just search for one on the street!). And Danielle, the woman at the front desk was always very cheery and helpful.. She was quick to answer all of our questions. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

« We Highly Recommend this Hotel »

All of the staff was wonderful the rooms were clean and comfortable. They were able to assist in making tour arrangements. A special shout out to Malcolm for the drinks. And a double shout shout to Ingrid at the front desk very nice lady who went out of her way to make our stay the most enjoyable. When we travel to New Orleans next year you can bet we will be staying here. Thanks again Ingrid for going out of your way to make us feel at home. ??????

    « Jazz Fest visit 2016 »

The hotel by itself is pretty average...clean decent little comp breakfast every morning - our room itself didn't have an actual window, not lying - no window but it did have a skylight....not sure this would pass as a room at home in California without egress. We should have asked to change rooms but wanted to get outside and enjoy our visit immediately so whatever, our fault. So nothing special about it the property except for MALCOLM. Malcolm is the doorman. Not sure he ever went home over the busy jazz fest weekend. He helped us out many times throughout our trip with recs, taxis, what to watch out for as far as safety etc. A genuine dude. I really appreciated Malcolm. Thanks Malcolm if you are reading this!

« Annual Jazz Fest visit »

Location and amenities provide exactly what we need for our annual Jazz Fest experience. The staff are caring and friendly. The location is safe and accessible to all the best activities in the city. Extremely close to both the French Quarter to walk anywhere and the trolley for further reaching journeys.

    « Memorable Weekend " GREAT PEOPLE" »

Facilities could use some improvements, air condition was not nearly as cool as we would have liked, and valet is very over priced. However, I put more value in customer service and courtesy. Malcolm was excellent and the remainder of the staff was as also. Location was good, crew responsive and friendly, and the Ruby slipper was next door. Overall I would definitely use this place again in the future. Thanks

    « Welcoming and Friendly »

Malcolm, Simone, and staff were wonderful and accommodating. We enjoyed the atmosphere very much and looked forward to returning each evening after our fun jazz fest days. Location was great. Rooms are small but clean. Free breakfast and wifi included.

« Great staff, great breakfast, very comfortable beds »

Me and my three friends were in New Orleans on a girl's night and the staff was very very welcoming. When we first arrived, we were early but our room was available to check in. As we were leaving to go out, the front desk staff was very generous in taking our pictures and letting us know what the weather was like outside due to us not having a window in our room. Ingrid was absolutely amazing. She made sure to make us feel welcome and she helped us in any way necessary. We will definitely book that location on our next trip. Oh, and the room was very nice. There were enough mirrors for all of us to get dressed in in the bathtub has jets in it.

    « Wonderful »

This hotel was in the perfect location! Walking distance to just about anywhere in the French Quarter, including shopping and restaurants. The staff was very accommodating and Malcalm was more than a pleasure and so very helpful!!! The hot breakfast was great!!! The rooms were small, but nicely decorated and clean!

    « Great Location »

Just over the road from the French Quarter so ideal. Great service at the desk and also valet parking. Room was beautiful, comfortable beds, brick walls and huge window. Bathroom was a good size and clean. Breakfast was great, not too busy and plenty of options. Hope to return one day.

« Great Location, Easy Access to Public Trans and Super Nice Folk »

This was my first trip to New Orleans. It was a quick 4.5 day trip and upon arrival at hotel, the 'Southern Hospitality' started and never stopped. The property is a boutique type affordable hotel. Great location a half minute walk to trolley and bus lines on Canal St. Located on the edge of French Quarter; Riverwalk on other end and Harrah's Casino all within walking distance. The accommodations were clean, not too noisy (black out drapes help) and very comfortable. Housekeeping was on point, my room was clean, beds comfortable and very quaint. 2 of 4 walls were old brick LOVED that. The Staff was the best part about the hotel. Malcam and Dwayne are both the most pleasant, helpful and genuinely nice people to have at the front door. Danielle, Janee', Jasmina all at front desk went out of their way to make sure we were comfy, happy and had everything we needed. We didn't bring a wine bottle opener so borrowed theirs' a couple of times. ;) I've stayed in many hotels and have had from good to bad experiences, I highly recommend this hotel for both it's staff and accommodations. Aloha nui loa, Tammy M.

« The People make this hotel special!thank you! »

Every single person rates anything in life based on their perception, and so will i, my name is Michelangelo Koolman and i am from a Aruba a well known vacation place,i work with tousism as i am a musician an entertainer,so i feel that i have a decent foundation to give a good a opinion, when it comes down to vacation spots and accomodations,so i wish that i knew all the names from the people that helped my stay to become as precious as any other life experience, but i only remember a few, from the first person who helped me until the last one but let me bring out a few Malcom snell,a man that worked hard and never looses his temperAriel And Ingrid they treated me like i was someone that they knew a friend,i can tell you they are good in what they are doing, and they go beyond their way, without putting any effort to make my stay or your stay to be the stay that you wish for when you go on vacation thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

« New Orleans Jazz Festival »

The service was great and Danielle on the Front Desk was very courteous and helpful. The room was great and I liked the close location to the French Quarter and the House of Blues. There were 3 of us sharing the room and there was plenty of space for us. The maid service great and gave only what we needed. The breakfast was good with good selection.

« First time in New Orleans »

Loved the location and history of this hotel, which was within walking distance of the French Quarter, tons of restaurants and 1 block from the casino. The hotel was very clean with well appointed furniture and bedding

    « Location, Location, Location!!! »

We stayed here for a friend's group trip. We chose this location because it was Pre Mardi Gras, and this hotel is on the parade route! When visiting NOLA, I like to stay at smaller boutique hotels....it's such a charming city and staying in the boutique hotels really enhances the experience. The St. Christopher did not disappoint! The rooms were super clean, the bathroom was huge and sparkled! There was exposed brick in the walls that added to the charm of being in the "warehouse" district. There were two of us sharing a double room and we had plenty of space. The staff was friendly. Full maid service was only on certain days, but they would service the room when asked. The cable seemed to be spotty...but we didn't watch much TV. The hotel bar was only open on weekends. I'd skip the free breakfast....lame choices. When in Nola--eat local!! The location is perfect! Super safe and in walking distance of the French Quarter!

    « safe in room »

nice hotel and staff but when i got bill at check out 4 days for over $1000 saw an additional charge of 99 cents per day for safe in room i did not even use safe questioned person at check out desk about charge and she replied it was standard and could do nothing about it talk about nickel and dime fees pay on average $250 plus per day and get 99 cent charge what next 88 cents for table lamp best western should be ashamed

    « Great stay »

This was an awesome hotel. Clean, Friendly and Comfortable. MALCOME was GREAT!!! The French Quarter was one block away. I highly recommend this place to stay. We were going on a Cruise and the Cruise Port is very close.

    « Great customer service! »

Traveled to NOLA for a concert which happened to be during Jazz Fest. Malcalm is a man who loves his job and it shows. Never have I had the pleasure of meeting such a fine person who made me feel at home from the first meeting. The hotel was clean, we were always greeted and the staff was great. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and breakfast was fresh daily.

    « Enjoyable Experience »

3 of us enjoyed our time at the hotel. We were here for the Jazz and Heritage Fest. One of us had been before so it was the first time for two of us. The hearty breakfast, the friendliness of the staff and room made for a pleasant experience.

« Nice, Clean Hotel with a Great Staff »

Susan and I went to jazz fest and stayed at the St. Christopher. They held our bags as we went to catch the shuttle and checked us in promptly after the festival. the hotel is nice and very clean but the staff is what sets it apart. They were all very friendly and helpful. Malcom greeted us with a smile every time we came and went as well as Summer at the front desk. Great breakfast provided and the ladies there are top notch. This is our new hotel in New Orleans.

    5
« Birthday trip done right »

Great hotel. Free wifi in the room. Be aware if there is a special event in the city, the fee is $41 per day. The valets are great. Malcolm is awesome very attentive and very informative. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed our time there.

« All presonnal was very friendly »

We had a wonderful experience with all personnal who were very friendly. Malcom as a valet gave treated us like family. I recommend it to all. It is well located near all what it is to be seen in center of New Orleans

    « Very pleasant experience »

The hotel was very clean and in a good location. The staff is very friendly and eager to make sure your stay is comfortable (especially Malcolm!) He really took pride in what he did and went above and beyond. No complaints and a very reasonable price so close to the French quarter!

    4
« Good location and friendly staff! »

We were very happy with our 4 night stay here. This hotel has friendly staff, including Malcolm, Natalie and their breakfast staff. Our room while smaller than expected served our needs and was nicely decorated and clean. The hotel is situated near Canal Street, as well as, the Riverwalk and French Quarter. Access to the Canal St street car is a short block walk, the St. Charles St street car 2 blocks. As with much of this area, parking is limited; directly in front of the hotel there are only 2 parking places so plan accordingly if arriving by car.

    5
« Great visit! (thanks Malcom) »

A surprise trip to New Orleans was made even better from the hospitality provided by the staff here. The room was nice, bathroom was spacious. And every time we entered or exited the hotel, Malcom was there to guide us in choosing the best spots or to welcome us back. He really helped make the trip the best it could be. We'll be back!

    « Road Trip »

We were quite disappointed with this hotel. We expected a clean and well run hotel instead it was dirty and without the facilities we were expecting. However it was close to everywhere we wanted to see.

    4
« Good location, friendly people »

I was really happy with this hotel. It was well located and the customer service was fantastic. Several times we asked for help finding restaurants and tickets to touristy things. They always helped us with a smile. The room was nice and clean. We had a corner room so it was bigger than others from my understanding. Aside from one night where we heard a parade go by, it was very quiet. I never felt unsafe. I'd stay here again.

    5
    « Thanks Malcolm! »

The room was nice, and well-kept. The Staff was very helpful. Malcolm gave me great directions and helped me check in and out. The hotel was a short walk from the convention center and bourbon street, and right off canal street. It was very nice to walk around, and the breakfast at the hotel was great and convenient

    4
« Good service and cute rooms »

The service was good, specially during breakfast. Cute quiet rooms that allowed us to have good night of rest. The check out was fast and sweet. The bathroom was clean. I would use it again. Centric without being in the noisy burbon street.

« A rocky start but overall good. »

Upon arrival, our key card would not work. We had to stand in the hall with our luggage for 10 minutes until someone from maintenance came to work on the key reader. He let us in and reset our cards. When we left the room, the cards quit working again. The toilet in the room was backed up and it took an hour and a half for someone to come fix it. Aside from that, the hotel is typical of the french quarter area, small rooms but clean. Great location, friendly staff.

    5
    « Perfect Location »

Perfect location to the French Quarter and Bourbon. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The free continental breakfast was by far one of the best ones I have ever eaten. Our refrigerator didn't work when we checked in and they immediately sent someone to replace it with another refrigerator. Enjoyed our stay there!

    5
    « Truly a New Orleans Gem »

From the moment we arrived the staff and customer service were amazing. The building and rooms were everything New Orleans especially the original brick walls!! And a very special mention about the concierge Malcalm. You are the best. You never missed a beat. Thank you so much. The breakfast bar hostess who met you with a song every morning :) P.S. I have never taken the time to write a review. Truly an experience I wanted to share.

    5
    « EXCELLENT »

We received friendly and courteous service from everyone there. This certainly added to our trip- which was so fun and relaxing. The room was clean, and perfect for us. Breakfast area was over crowded so we skipped it but we have no complaints .

    5
« Great location, friendly service »

We were there for French Quarter festival and a had a great time. Malcolm was an excellent concierge. The location was very convenient (across from Ruby Slipper, a plus), rooms were nice, and service was friendly.

« Spring Trip to New Orleans »

This was our second trip to New Orleans and we stayed at the Best Western St. Christopher for the second time. I don't think you will find a friendly hotel staff around. One of the most helpful and courteous was the Bell Captain, Malcolm. He would go out of his way to help you. We lucked out and got our same room as last time we stayed their on the 10th floor. Rooms are great and very well maintained. The hotel it's self is very clean. Their is a hot breakfast made every morning from 6:30 to 9:30. And the hotel I think is in a central location. Just a few blocks from Bourbon St., and a few blocks from the pier and 2 blocks from Harrah's Casino. Would recommend this hotel.

    5
« Renovated warehouse on edge of French Quarter »

The building and decor made you feel like you were NOLA, not a generic hotel in any city. The rooms are on the small side, but had all the amenities except a fridge. But you're in NOLA-you're going to eat everything on your plate, right? The breakfast buffet was varied every day, but nothing out of their usual rotation. Service was great. The location was great for the French Quarter, museums, and transportation. Only drawback for us, is only 1 hour extra given for extended checkout, though usual checkout is at noon.

    4
« New Orleans BW St. Christopher »

Overall a great experience. It is just one block from the French Quarter, which gives you a respite from the hustle and bustle that the Quarter is famous for. Malcolm's (valet and bellman) attitude, helpfulness, and great smile certainly made our stay very pleasant.

    5
    « A Great Stay »

Malcom was one of the people there he gave us great place to eat and try new foods and trips to take and things to do around the area I was a great trip . We did a swamp trip / boat went to the French quarter festival went to see the Aquarium and the Hotel was right by the casino and trolly was right 2 building away on canal street and that would take you anywhere you wanted to go

    5
« Great hotel a block from the French quarter! »

This is a gem of a BW hotel with a location that can't be beat! The bellman/valet/all around great guy is a great credit to this hotel! Danielle at the front desk is very sweet and efficient! We would definitely recommend and return to this hotel.

    « SO GOOD! »

My best friend and I came to New Orleans for the weekend and we had arrived early. We were only going to do valet parking and then wait until check in at 4. Malcom came out and greeted us. He was so nice! Very welcoming. He helped us park and we went to check our bags. Summer was at the front desk and she told us that our room wasn't ready yet but she found an upgrade and we were able to check in so early. Malcom helped us with our bags to our room. The rooms are so nice and pretty. Our view is awesome! I would definitely come back next time I'm in New Orleans.

    5
« Great location. We parked the car and walked everywhere. »

Malcolm was awesome. Greeted us each time we came in or went out. He had everything from weather reports to suggestions and directions! So nice to have that. Rooms are clean and we had a view of the river.

« Great deal to visit French Quaarter »

Price was great; room was great. Beautiful exposed brick wall. Huge bathroom (wish it had an exhaust fan). Room was not large, but larger than we expected for New Orleans near the French Quarter. Check in was painless. Parking is a pain. We opted for expensive valet parking because we were unfamiliar with the area and tired from driving. Next time, I'll probably park the car myself. Breakfast was good, if standard American fare - I expected something more "New Orleansy". Staff was very friendly and helpful after the first afternoon when they were overloaded with check-ins. Bed is very comfortable; room is clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights. Wifi worked, but had to keep signing in.

    4
    « Great experience »

The entire staff was so pleasant and helpful. This was our first trip to New Orleans. we will be back and we will stay at this hotel again!! The location is good, walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do!

    « Very Good »

All of the employees at the desk were great, but we don't know their names. Also Malcolm, Sindy, Lisa, and Simone are all to be commended for their excellent attitude, professionalism, attention to detail!. Comfortable beds, Good location, Good HOT breakfast. The brick walls were beautiful and kept the room cool.

    « 10th Anniversary vacation »

Our doorman was excellent, his name is Malcolm, and he was both friendly and efficient. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the floor had a definite slope to it, but it's a historical building, so you can overlook that. Location is convenient to Bourbon St, Walkable distance to WWII museum. Overall, a great experience.

    5
    « Fabulous 6 day stay »

This hotel is in a great central location. Just a couple minutes to walk to bourbon street and a 10 minute walk to the heart of the French quarter. The staff was amazing! Will was very welcoming and accommodating at the front desk. Dwayne and Malcolm were really nice and helpful valets. The housekeepers were very personable and efficient as well. The room itself had a great view, the air worked well, and the bathroom was really nice. The only thing we didn't love with the breakfast. They have some good muffins but the hot food wasn't that great. Overall really fabulous stay! We'd come back.

    4
« Good location in New Orleans »

Very good location, good service, very friendly personal. Very good breakfast.. walking distance to French Quarters. Next to Canal street and the tramways. The WIFI was not that good, hard to get in and disconnected every time I tried to access.

    3
    « Noise »

Ask for a room that does not overlook the lobby. Way too noisy with music that is turned on very early in the mornings. Also, make sure you room includes a window. Staff was accommodating when made aware of problems. Central location, right across Canal Street;, out of the French Quarter. Easy walking to the Quarter.

    4
    « Perfect location. »

Perfect location for our 2 night stay in New Orleans. The hotel room was modern and clean. We loved the exposed brick. Breakfast was sufficient - bagels, pastry, cereal and cereal bars. As well as hot pancakes, sausage and egg. Valet parking was fine for us- more expensive than we would have liked but understandable for a city. $41 a night for a jeep. Within walking distance of French Quarter and we felt safe walking around area. We would stay here again if visiting New Orleans.

« Charming Hotel Near French Quarter and Superdome »

The location can't be beat. Walking distance to the French Quarter and easy access to the interstate. The hotel itself is very charming, the breakfast area is courtyard style complete with fountain. I love the exposed brick walls and decor in the rooms. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful.

    5
« Old New orelans w/ modern flair »

Loved this little hotel in the middle of the French Quarter. It was close enough to walk everywhere but away from the thundering herds at Jackson square. The rooms are old New Orleans w/modern amenities and the staff is terrific. You have to valet your car and Malcolm the day valet was awesome- he took great care of us and was very personable. Summer and Ariel on the desk took care of many questions and recommendations.

    4
    « Weekend trip »

Great location and good breakfast. Tile in Bathroom needed to be replaced. Thought the price of the room was a little high, but we enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Did not have TV channel guide in our room, could have been hidden somewhere or just lost. Valet service was great but a little expensive as well

    5
    « Breakfast Ms Liza »

What a fresh breath of sunshine in the morning to greet us coming down for breakfast Liza was so friendly and helpful. Made the breakfast area very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely come here next time we visit New Orleans

    « Loved this hotel »

We stayed at this hotel so we could explore the French Quarter and it was the perfect choice. The hotel is clean and elegant in decor with a very comfortable bed. The staff was very courteous and helpful, especially Caroline at the front desk. The French Quarter is less than half a block away, so it was easy to tour, shop and snack in the shops then head back to the hotel for a rest.

    « Great Girls Getaway »

Hotel locations was convenient to get to all the places we wanted to go. A couple AC issues were addressed immediately. The staff was pleasant and very accommodating for all our needs from check-in to check out. Liza was so friendly and helpful at breakfast in the mornings greeting us with a big smile. Malcom started our visit off perfectly, greeting us with a warm smile and handling the luggage of 8 women going to 2 rooms, not an easy task. He certainly conveyed the spirit of New Orleans thru out our stay and with grace and patience as he and the other staff (yes, it took 3 of them, Ha-Ha) loaded up our luggage and all our additional stuff from the trip. Fantastic trip, I can't wait to do it again.

    5
« Excellent Service, Great Location »

The service is amazing! MALCOLM greeted us and directed us from the moment we drove up, to our rooms, back to the lobby and our cars upon our departure. ARIEL recommended an awesome place for dinner (Walk-Ons) Friday night. LIZA welcomed us every morning at breakfast and visited our table to see if we needed anything. The additional men at the door helped us load/unload our cars, even in the torrential rain. We had a small problem with the A/C in one of our units and within 15 minutes two men were at our door, making repairs. The facility itself was beautiful and very inviting. The location was amazing and we had terrific views from our windows (even the bathroom window). Beds were cozy too! I wish I could recall all the names of the servicers as they all deserve kudos!

    « Theft of items »

Don't stay at this hotel if you carry valuables, I had Bose headphones and two pairs of earrings stolen. Best Western still has not responded to my inquiry. For the price of hotel I wish I could have trusted this hotel with my personal belongings. PATRON BEWARE

    « Pleasant experience »

Two day vacation in New Orleans was enhanced by our pleasant stay at this hotel. Close to the Quarter. Staff was great, especially Malcolm. Highly recommend this venue. Breakfast buffet could be upgraded by addition of more fruit selections.

« Great Location & Lovely Room Styles »

Went to New Orleans with my daughter & son for spring break. Auriel & TIana at the front desk were courteous and answered my endless questions as a first time traveler to this lovely and very friendly city. We had a secluded room on the 10th floor which could be closed off with additional door only accessible by key card, so it was very quiet. The rooms were lovely and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and ample...Cindy & Liza ensured that there was plenty of food and provided service with a smile. The location was Awesome!!! Directly across Canal Street is the French Quarters. You are minutes from Jackson Square, the great Mississippi River and street car pickup. Overall, one of the best vacations we have ever had and look forward to coming back again.

    « Spring break getaway »

We needed a crib for my 1 yr old nephew. Found out the hotel had only 2 cribs and they were already taken for all 3 days we were there. Room was very small and beds weren't very comfortable. Lots of hidden charges and taxes in the room price. Good location. We were able to walk to most of the places we visited except the zoo. Took the trolley to the zoo which took forever and was overcrowded arrived at zoo too late to enter. Took a cab back to hotel ($24) for 5 mile trip!

    « Nice Experience »

I had to make a trip to New Orleans for business , I chose to stay at BW because they're my go to hotel . I arrived late and check in was a little longer than I expected but I was soon in my room . I slept well , came down for a decent breakfast and had one of the sweetest clerks named Danielle check me out . I had James from Concierge call for my car . Everyone was nice and kind . I'm making plans to go back again soon .

    « Enjoyed our stay »

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with my 4 yr. old and mother. We enjoyed every day of it. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. They greeted everyone, everyday. The hotel is small, but we found the room size (2 full sized beds) to be fine. The breakfast is complimentary and there's an array of choices. WiFi is free and at a pretty good speed. There aren't any microwaves in the rooms, but there's one free for guests to use in the breakfast area. There's 2 computers available for printing tickets/boarding passes on the 2nd floor- free of charge. The location of the hotel is a great one, right off of Canal, short walking distance to Bourbon St.,Cafe du Monde, Audubon Aquarium, street cars, etc.

« Excellent Hotel for Price »

Our experience here was pretty great. The customer service was stellar, the room was what I expected for what we paid - a little small but pleasant overall. The bathroom was much larger and very clean. Only drawback was that we could hear our neighbors' rather loud rendition of some one-hit wonders. Our mini - fridge wasn't working when we first arrived but was fixed immediately when we alerted the staff. The hotel is within a 5 minutes walk of the French Quarter and only about 7-10 of Bourbon Street which is great when yiu want some time to relax without all the street noise. Plus, it's right next to the Ruby Slipper cafe for easy breakfast if you don't want the complimentary hotel breakfast. Overall, it was fantastic for the prices we paid. I'd stay here again.

« The Best Western Saved My Trip »

After having a really difficult experience trying to check-in at the Sheraton around the corner on Canal St., I wound up cancelling my reservation there and booking this hotel which was right around the corner (literally at the stop light and turn right) from the conference I was in NOLA to attend. Best.Decision.Ever. Everyone there was incredibly nice and accommodating, and they were able to help me get booked and checked into the hotel in no time. The room itself is standard and no frills, but for my needs it was perfect. The room itself was clean and neat, but the hallway did have a kind of musty odor which I later discovered was the result of the ice machine on my floor having gone on the fritz and leaked all over the carpet. So I did have to go down a floor to get ice, but that for me was pretty minor considering I was only in the room long enough to sleep, shower, and change for the next activity. This is a good hotel location for going to Bourbon Street or in the other direction to the riverwalk and casino. Really good value for the money, and I'll definitely be looking into booking here in December when the Falcons play the Saints (Rise Up Atlanta!!).

« Very nice, but a bit noisy »

Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful and the accomodation was good. Only downside: the hotel is very noise. You can hear elevators, the neighbor showering, people walking by all the time, etc. Great wifi though and great location!

    « Easter Vacation »

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The hotel is like two blocks from the French Quarter. We were able to walk to many locations from our hotel and felt safe. I would recommend this hotel to friends and I would stay here again. There is breakfast served in the mornings, it's not a lot, but there's something for everyone one. It was nice having fruit available and not just boxed food. Thank you Best Western!

    « A super stay »

Great hotel near the French Quarter. Staff exceptional, especially Caroline when we checked out. She was flexible, understanding, and accommodating. A fantastic experience. We will definitely stay there again. The hotel was close to all amenities and made the stay just that much more enjoyable. Can't wait to get back!

« Great price location and Great service »

Best thing about this room is the location! I was close to everything and it made the trip such a breeze I felt so welcomed in the city -checking in is usually a nightmare but the service here was beyond amazing Tiona treated me like family and she was very accommodating felt more like home than a hotel as soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with her beautiful smile and her energy just brightened my day.. I would recommend this place to everyone and I will definitely be returning

Excellent stay. Room and service were very good. Excellent value for the money. Easy walking distance to main attractions. Hotel staff helpful in booking excursions. Lots to see and do in this area filled with fun and lots of rich culture. Would recommend. Not a place for children in my opinion.

« Great Stay in NOLA »

Our stay at the hotel was great, nothing like the bad reviews you see about it here and there. The room was clean and the breakfast was decent -- we ate breakfast and skipped lunch a few days. The location is great, right across Canal from Decatur. We had no problems leaving the car parked and walking everywhere. We would stay again next time we visit New Orleans.

I loved the exposed brick in my otherwise small but completely functional room. The staff could not have been better - Tiona at the front desk reminded me of my best friend growing up so that made me feel right at home! Location is great - easy short walk to French Quarter. Only real downside is - if you are driving- you pretty much have to use the valet because there is no nearby parking for the hotel.

« Inexpensive in Good Location »

This hotel is well located. It is a block from the French Qtr and right in the CBD. Also close to transportation. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are Ok but not great. The WiFi is terribly slow.

    « Great Service »

Our recent trip to New Orleans, was made that much special by the great service of the folks at the St. Christopher Hotel. Summer, at the front dest was so helpful and cheerful. John was also very helpful and very friendly. We really enjoyed our visit and they are great ambassadors for the city of New Orleans.

    « Great stay! »

The king size room was a little small, but it was clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable! Just my daughter and I stayed and we felt VERY safe. The valet service is well worth the money you spend. The valets have great suggestions and tips on how to save your money when traveling through New Orleans.

« Unique Hotel in NOLA »

Nice Best Western within easy walking distance to many restaurants and attractions including the French Quarter, The Mississippi, The Aquarium and WWII museum. Bike rental shop just a block down the street for self guided riding or Organized tour of bike friendly City areas.

« Great, Clean, Awesome Staff! »

This hotel was a great location to stay at. The staff was very friendly, and energetic. I got the service right away. Housekeepers were always smiling and servicing to our needs! Hotel was clean and also maintained. Maintenance was also making sure everything was good within our room. Loved the fact they had multilingual staff!! Will stay here again on our trip back! I would recommend to stay at Best Western Plus St. Christopher.

    « Felt like home »

The experience gave me time to relax, catch up on homework along with just being able to rest without noise or even feeling like I was in danger. I loved every moment of the experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly and I would always go back.

« Great hotel close to French Quarter »

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the convention centre as well as the French Quarter. The hotel was small, friendly, quiet and perfect for our needs. The staff always welcomed us when we returned from our walking and were very helpful with questions.

    « Clean & comfortable »

Tiona at the front desk was very helpful & friendly, always smiling. Room was comfortable although small. Breakfast was good. Most employees were friendly. Liked that the streetcar was only a block away. Good restaurants were close. Felt safe in the area; very well lit. 2 valets when we first got there appeared uninterested, but departure valet was very friendly & helpful.

« Great location near the French Quarter »

The hotel is hard to locate on Magazine St. and the signage is high up on the building. The area is very busy with many cars, pedestrians and trolleys, so locating the lobby proved to be a multi-pass event! The hotel honored the discount coupon so the initial price was acceptable, but the valet parking and mandatory taxes raised the bottom line price by $49.00! Parking in downtown N.O. is at a premium so "valet parking" is necessary. The good part is that the valet attendants are a great group of people and you can leave your vehicle there for several hours after checking out. The rooms are quiet and clean, but the hotel is very old.

    3
« great location tiny rooms »

Location was excellent walking distance to everything. The room was clean but tiny. We stayed the night before in best western plus Lafayette and for $200 less a night we had 4 times the room size. We stayed here using points if I was paying for the room we would probably not stay here seeing that it is so overpriced based on the location. There are plenty of other Hotels in the same area for around the same price where you are not sleeping in a closet. Great staff, clean hotel, just tiny rooms and overpriced for what you get. Too many others in the area providing more value for the same price.

« A rather sorry place in need of TLC »

Having stayed at numerous BW Plus across the USA I am sorry to write how poor this one is. We were taken to a room with no window apparently the hotel has a number like this. Had we known beforehand we would not have booked. Deciding to make the best of it and enjoy NO we unpacked and showered. It was only after walking across the room carpet we realized that our feet were black from the obvious ingrained dirt. The headboard tilted at 30 degrees the dust behind was lovely. In general the whole place needs a good and thorough clean. I noticed returning one evening that they were cleaning the hall carpets. Overall the rooms are noisy. Mainly other guests allowing the children to run riot at all hours. The good points. Location check in staff and a very pleasant cleaner who I guess just had too much to do as the hotel seems full back to back. Sad to write the above but we did mention the overall poor state of the room to the reception where we received a smile and a shrug to say what did we expect. We did not expect Honorary membership of The Black Foot tribe after showering.

    « Decent Hotel »

This hotel doesn't seem as nice as one would normally get for the same price. What should be told to anyone calling for reservations and asking for price, is that the parking fee is very high. $36 per night. If you are looking for a certain price range, that really affects your bottom line.

    4
« good location, nice staff »

at the corner of Magazine and Canal Streets, a handy location for walking to the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, the Aquarium. The wi-fi was iffy at best, not able to get on most of the time during our stay. Breakfast was not great, sausage patties sunk under 1/2' of fat, had to wait twice for pre-made egg circles, terrible coffee. SO, go to the Ruby Slipper for breakfast instead, 1/2 block away! The so-called "Cocktail Lounge and Bar" was never set up during our three day visit. Our room didn't have a window, just a dingy skylight with no shade. But, location location location. Front desk and valet staffers were very friendly for the most part (Danielle in particular).

    2
« Loved this hotel, but our maid was and is a thief! »

Yes I absolutely loved this hotel. Our room was clean, the valet and front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was good the one day we partook. Our first day we refused maid service and just got some clean towels. The second day the maid came in, made the beds, supplied fresh towels, and emptied the trash. This was all done while we were out. Later on a maid came back and asked if we were going to need service that day and we were like someone has already been in the room. Obviously it was not noted the room was cleaned by whoever did it. The day we left we realized that we forgot 2 bags with hard rock merchandise in them and promptly returned to hotel to retrieve the bags. They weren't in the room. After we got to thinking we realized those bags were not in the room the day before because where we had had the bags my mom had put her shoes and didn't remember seeing them there then. Needless to say we were not happy that $60 dollars worth of merchandise went missing. I will give the front desk staff credit because they did credit my card the $60 we spent on the hard rock merchandise. So if you decide to stay here make sure you lock your stuff up and if it won't fit in the safe make sure it is still there after you leave it.

    « Close to Everything »

We liked the stay mostly because of the professional and caring staff and because of the central location. The building has a vintage style and the breakfast area gives an outdoor feeling. I compared this hotel to the one in Manhattan.

    3
    « Just OK »

The St. Christopher is a basic hotel with tasteful furnishings but few true amenities. The noise level from the room where we shared a wall was disturbing although the front desk did handle it. Their breakfast room is rather sad- especially for New Orleans where good food is everywhere. We opted not to use it. Even the quality of the tea and coffee offered was sub par. It is however, within an easy walk to the French Quarter, the trolley and Cafe du Monde.

    « Outstanding Service »

I switched to this hotel after having a difficult and unpleasant experience with the Sheraton on Canal Street. OMG, there are not enough positive adjectives to describe the experience here. It was literally night and day. My only regret is that I did not think to book with them when I was making my reservations for my conference, and I automatically used the conference block. My mistake. Whoever is in charge here needs to go around the corner and show the Sheraton how it is done. I got outstanding service for half the price. One of the best experiences I have had in a long time.

    « Nice 3 night stay »

We had a group of 4 adults stay here for 3 nights. Our room was comfortable and we had enough space for all of us. Beds were very comfy too. we liked the exposed brick walls and big window in our room. We had to call the reception desk for towels the first day, because there were none in our room when we arrived. We were in our room while the maids were cleaning our floor and they were very loud. The carpet in the hallways looks like it needs replacing. There are some very large stains. The door to our room would not close all the way on it's own so we always had to make sure to check that it locked before leaving or at the end of the night. Location was great for us and the activities we had planned. A short walk to everything in the French Quarter and the the streetcar stop on Canal. The guys at the valet stand were very nice and helpful, as was the woman running breakfast in the morning. Continental breakfast was decent. There was sausage 2 of the days and eggs on the 3rd day along with the usual muffins, cereal, and bagels. Overall a nice hotel.

    « Great Stay »

All good here. The manager Summer was top notch and professional and the valet service equally good. Ten points! The room was clean, breakfast spot on and only a few blocks to Cornet for dinner on the gallery overlooking Bourbon St. Preservation Hall is on the side street by Cornet and should not be missed.

« First visit to New Orleans »

Great place to stay, close to French Quarter, Casino, WWII museum, Streetcars, yet a quiet and safe location. Room was clean and well appointed. John the valet was very helpful and knowledgeable. Ariel and Caroline at front desk are very friendly and helpful. Great little hotel, great value too.

« One night in the Big Easy »

As we arrived, we were greeted by John at the valet stand. He was very professional about his job, check in was quick and easy, John made sure of that. The room was nice and comfortable, a bit on the small side, but who comes to New Orleans to stay in the room. It's just a room to lay your head after a long night out. Everyone was friendly and polite. We will definity stay there again. Thanks.

    « New Orleans Get-away »

We were a little apprehensive before staying at this hotel because the reviews on various travel sites were mixed. Our stay was very enjoyable, the location was great for getting to places, the breakfast was substantial and well prepared, and except for a stained carpet the room and bathroom were clean and well stocked with necessities. The issue of pets being in the hotel was not really a problem. The staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful.

    « Disappointing for a Best Western »

We have stayed at Best Western hotels all over the U.S. We pick them because we know what to expect and they are usually all the same. This place was the exception I am sorry to report. Location is great. The bed was extremely comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is very good and well run by a lady who gives 110%. The hotel itself is old, we appreciate that. However, to hear everyone performing their ablutions at all times of the day, was not appreciated. The rooms have no microwave and are dark and gloomy. Last night we had to suffer a barking door on our floor for over two hours and are amazed that animals are allowed in. Makes me feel very hesitant to walk on the carpets. The carpet is very dirty in the room we stayed in. The bathroom was not well cleaned and one day we were not even given towels. The original price seemed attractive for the area but, discover we have a $36 valet parking fee per day, therefore negating the good price. This place is not indicative of Best Westerns as we know them.

« We extended our stay »

We planned to stay in New Orleans for two days. We enjoyed the hotel accommodations so we decided to stay another day. The Valet staff were very professional and helpful, especially William, John and Mike. The valet service was prompt when we asked for cab service and or our car. The check in staff handled our account quickly and accurately. Aerial and Summer at the front desk were also helpful when it came to finding restaurants and attractions. We stayed at this hotel in 2015 and we were glad that we came back to the Best Western St Christopher again in 2016! Waking up to a hot delicious breakfast got our day off to a great start! Liza, attended the breakfast area and she was genuine and efficient. Our room was always clean promptly, too. We will return!

« Great location, just ok accommodations »

Note: There is a cost to park that starts at $31 per day - and you really have no other option but to use there parking/valet. The location is fabulous real close to the French Quarter. Rooms are acceptable.

    « Comfortable beds »

We stayed here one night before our cruise. The room was a little small for three people but bathroom was nice. Beds were very comfortable! I wish the bathroom had a vanity sink instead of pedestal. There was no where to put makeup, lotion, etc. Overall the hotel was clean and staff friendly, especially the valet guys. Breakfast was good. The location was great, right near Canal St and Harrahs. We really enjoyed the Riverwalk. I recommend the valet, parking is tough.

    « nice small hotel »

Nice room, nice staff and good location. Room was quiet and have good view of river walk. It was convenient to Borbon street and the garden district. Staff was helpful. Thought the parking charge was high but consistent with all of New Orleans

« Nice location close to anything you'd want to do downtown New Orleans »

Located between the French Quarter and the Convention Center makes this a good location if you're doing both. Friendly service and a good hot breakfast in the morning made this an enjoyable stay without outrageous prices. The room I had was in need of a little updating as in replacing stained carpet and wallpaper repair, but didn't make the stay negative. Beds were comfortable and AC worked perfectly. Will look to stay here for future New Orleans visits.

    « Carefree »

Our stay at The Best Western St. Charles was awesome. We stayed on the fifth floor, which was conveniently right off the elevator. We did not have a good window view but the room was clean and cozy. We slept in as late as we wanted and was not disturbed. The staff was excellent, I want to recognize the front desk clerk Summer she was so pleasant and helpful upon our check-in and our check-out. Summer made sure we was well informed and what was expected throughout our stay. After check out the staff arranged our taxi ride back to the airport and stored our luggage while we took one last tour of the city. A big thumbs up to The Best Western St. Charles and the awesome staff, everyone was great even the cleaning crew. We was greeted with smiles and helping hands our entire stay. Thanks again. This hotel was located in a convenient location near all the cities attractions.

« Booking room for daughter & granddaughter:(( »

Took my CC# and then told me I'd have to book the room at the at Charles location.. Ok fine I said... Said my card had gone thru~ Took my info home address / email/ phone ect.... My daughter got to hotel at st Charles & they claimed I needed to send them photo ID pic & CC photo?? Who does this in the day of identity theft? At this location I Spoke to two gals- Jennifer & Michele Had to call back 2 more times as I didn't receive email confirmation & was worried about kids traveling alone across country alone. At at Charles location they wanted photos of my license & CC??? Then had my daughter park 3 blocks away to walk alone in the dark! I feel like this first location should have explained in detail the situation at st Charles ?? Very very unhappy with whole chain at this point! Will never book with best western ever again! Done:(((

Stayed here with my family. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Ask for Summer at front desk (she was great). Breakfast bar is very busy so go down as early as possible. Great hotel for the money we spent! We will definitely be staying here again...

« housekeeping is not good »

overall it was good, except housekeeping they don't clean your room. They make the bed that's it. We had to specifically tell them to take trash out and clean the tub. The tub floods and the residue sits there you rinse it off but you would think they would clean it out it was gross.

« Best Western Plus ST Christopher Never again Hotel »

Its close enough to everything, not in he mix. The room is overcharged for this hotel, you can get a better room and service in the same area for less! Upon check-in the lady at the front desk seemed to have an attitude, nowhere near friendly at all. took awhile checking people, she was there alone at the desk at a extremely busy time of year (Mardi Gras) the room was clean, small, not what I expected though. If your traveling with older friends or family members do not stay above the 3rd or 4th floor as their elevators kept breaking. I was staying on the 10th floor and was stuck in the lobby for almost 2hrs. Each time me or another guys was about the elevator we were told in another 30mins (that turned into almost 2hrs) then I ended up with all these little extra charges on my bill at checkout. Do not accidently click on demand channel it will show on your bill as movie purchase. Caroline M.O.D was helpful with removing this for me, but all an all not a great stay for the money and Best western stays I'm used to. Will I stay here again, no, will I recommend to others, no. This location is extremely an older building. checking out was easier, breakfast was ok-quick-serve style. the pancake maker does one at a time and is slower than the syrup. The proximity to everything is great. Other than that not much to be desired here.

    « Great location..adequate room »

This hotel is in a great location. Very convenient to French Quarter. 1st room we checked into smelled horrible (like cat pee). The front desk checked us into another room right away. Had a bed with double beds and my husband and I had to sleep separately. There is no way 2 grownups could sleep in that bed. Bell staff was excellent! Very helpful and friendly.

« Read the fine print on this motel »

I checked many web sites before looking into this hotel. They seemed to have a good price for the hotel with good rates near the French Quarter. All seemed good except that when I got there I had no place to park and they said the nearest parking was $36.00. In other words the real cost of the stay was nearly $120.00 not the $80.00 that was advertised. There are MANY options around that could have been cheaper had this fact been disclosed at time of reservation.

    « Great Location/Excellent Service »

I didn't realize until we arrived how close to everything we would be. Only a short block off Canal Street - Parade Route - more restaurants than you could possibly try. Rooms are small, but quaint, comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Staff is very responsive and will help quickly with anything from maintenance to directions/recommendations. Enjoyed our stay and will not hesitate to book here again.

« Very Convenient Location for French Quarter »

This was our first trip to New Orleans, and a celebration of our 27th anniversary. This hotel was recommended to us over one (Also a "plus" in this same brand) that we had already booked in Harvey because of its location. I will agree that this location was definitely convenient for exploring the French Quarter, we did enjoy and appreciate that benefit. But as a Diamond member, and the fact that our arrival date was also the actual day of our 27th anniversary (I made sure when I booked the room and in follow-up phone calls that the staff were aware of both), I just expected a little something "extra". At the the property in Harvey they were clearly excited that we were choosing to spend four nights, and our anniversary, with them. The desk person said she was sure they would be able to give us an upgrade, and have something placed in our room. The two times I reached out to the St Christopher to check on the possibility of a room upgrade (for the reason mentioned above) I was met with a less then helpful attitude leaving me with a feeling that they had little concern about about our special event or my Diamond Status. In the end I was basically told we were coming in Pre-Mardi Gras, and they would be full, but if an upgrade was available they would see what they could do. We arrived from the airport around 1:00pm, I had requested an early check in so they were able to accommodate that for us. During our four night stay most all of the staff we encountered were very pleasant. Summer and John stood out as the friendliest and most helpful. I can't say I understand why housekeeping only took care of trash and towels during our 5 days there, the bed was never made once during our stay. We would loosely pull up the covers before leaving the room to go out, and at the end of the day when we returned it was exactly the same. The room itself was nice, we enjoyed having one on the corner with its three 9' windows facing Magazine Street, and one in the bathroom facing the side street. It had space to stretch out a bit which was also very nice. But, the carpet was in need of cleaning with more than a few larger dark stains on it, we also saw there were stains of various sizes on nearly every piece of the bed linens. Overall it was nice to stay somewhere centrally located, and have the ability to walk to so many popular areas. But at the same I think having a prime "location" also allows the hotel to let important things, like front desk staff customer service skills & housekeeping, drop below what should be acceptable. I'm afraid it seemed as though the things normally important in the hospitality industry were not performed consistently well by all staff at this hotel.

« Historic and Cutting Edge Contemporary »

I love this hotel. It's an historic building converted into a hotel that is totally modern and contemporary but with the authenticity of being an historic building. Staff were great and didn't stop being nice to me even when I went on a rant about the awful taxicabs in the city. Everything was spotlessly clean and kept up perfectly.

« Excellent Property Well Run »

Good location, excellent staff, good value. Special thanks to John the excellent Valet, Renya Head of Housekeeping and Summer at the front desk. Very attentive and helpful throughout my stay. The property is well located and near the French Quarter, the Casino, many of the fine Magazine Street shops and cafes. Also just an few blocks from the WWII museum and the warehouse district . Excellent choice when in New Orleans and looking for something that gives access to all the City has to offer

« Centrally located, wonderful hotel. »

I stayed here with my sister for 5 days in December of 15. We chose an interior (much cheaper) room, because we didn't plan on being in the room for most of the trip. The hotel was conveniently located, within a few short blocks of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. The Ruby Slipper Cafe is across the street and is delicious for breakfast/brunch, and the hotel offers free breakfast as well. It was also wonderfully quiet at night despite being located in such a high traveled area. We will be staying here again when we come back to NOLA.

« A fun stay in the heart of New Orleans... »

I was here for a convention recently and decided to stay at the Best Western. There were a number of pros and cons. I love the Best Western don't get me wrong, but it's not a fancy hotel and cannot compete with other higher brand names. Regardless I continue to enjoy going to new BWs that I've never been to before. I like the fact that I was right off of the main street, Canal, allowing me to have access to all of the great restaurants, shopping and more. Because I was around the corner from the bigger hotels, the shuttle took me too and from the convention. Even if it didn't it was about a 10 minute walk from the convention center that I could have. Rooms are nice, at night I only heard neighbors in the adjoining room once, the rest of the time it was very quiet. The parking is valet only. I had a rental car the first two nights, found I didn't need a car, everything was so close so I took it back to the airport. Parking is $31 a day for smaller cars, $36 for larger. Taxis too and from the airport are a flat $36. When it comes to friendliness of the staff they all went above and beyond to assist. They like their place and they want you to enjoy your stay, it shows. I used the Wi-Fi, no problems. Used the business center as well to print out boarding passes. This hotel is right on the route for the parade, we were walking back Saturday night and got caught on the wrong side of the street and had to wait to cross and get back in. But if you want to be right in the middle of it all, perfect place to stay and not have to pay too much. I had a family member with me and they loved the fact that the tour buses and other touristy things are within a block of the hotel. Again, in the heard of New Orleans.

« Amazing staff; great location »

I can't remember a time when I've met such wonderful people working the front lobby of a hotel. A special shout out to Ariel but they all have been so warm, responsive, and informative, the other front desk women, the two guys who are the concierges. Although I had a room with no window, the room was perfectly fine. It was clean, big enough, with a great big bathtub and reasonably priced. The wifi was always great. It was quiet too, and I was in the "dog" section of the hotel. Sometimes dogs are quieter than people. TIPS: The Ruby Slipper next door is where to have breakfast. You needn't use hotel parking. 2-3 blocks away you can park for $30 a day and have easy access to your car, moving in and out of the lot as much as you want.

    « Excellent Location »

The location of this hotel is excellent, steps away from most attractions a visitor might want to see. It is adjacent to the French Quarter, near the St Charles and Canal St streetcars, the waterfront and Harrah's Casino.

« Great location, small rooms, a lot of dogs »

The location is excellent, within walking distance of Bourbon Street, Harrah's Casino, the Canal Shops, etc. As with other older hotels here, the standard rooms are a bit small, but I have no complaints regarding cleanliness, etc. The continental breakfast is typical, and the staff is friendly, rates are reasonable. As other reviewers have noted, you might have a bit of a wait for the valet if you've brought your own car. The main thing that stands out about this place is just how many dogs I saw in the hotel during my visit. And I'm talking about guests with multiple dogs, large and small. It's possible there was a dog show or dog parade? My stay was Jan 22-24.

My girlfriend and I spent our 1 year anniversary here. Was definitely the best value for its location. Hotel was within walking distance to all the great touristy stuff we wanted to do including Bourbon St, French Quarter, Jackson Square, Riverwalk, aquarium, World War 2 Museum, Mardi Gras parades, and the gravesite tours. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness.

    « A quick getaway »

This was our first time staying at the St Christopher. I booked through Booking.com. We arrived about 4 hours before check-in but was told by the desk clerk Summer that we could get our room early. I had a few misunderstandings with my pricing but it was dealt with easily thanks to Summer. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and the location was very convenient.

« Great location near the French Quarter »

This was our second time in NOLA but our first time at this hotel. We had room 708 with a king size bed. The room was small in my opinion, but that was sort of expected since this was an older renovated building turned into a hotel. The TV was pretty much low definition, and the CBS channel had no audio for the duration of our stay. The bed was comfortable and had adequate pillows. Temperature control worked well to provide heat - we had a bunch of days under 50 degrees. Ice machine in the hall. No decent view from our window, just the building next door. We weren't happy with the bathroom. The sink is a designer style - pretty but very little space for sundries. Not enough shelves to put out your dental, shaving, contact cleaning or other supplies. Not enough towel racks either, and the ones they provide hang directly over the back of the toilet, low enough to hit the tank. They leave plenty of cards saying that they want to be "green" and save energy, asking you to hang the towels if you plan to reuse them, but their aren't enough places to hang all of them or clothes. Not a deal breaker but annoying. The staff said this will be fixed in an upcoming remodeling - no date provided. The staff was very accommodating and helpful on all requests. The location is terrific, on Magazine Street one block off of Canal Street. Easy to walk anywhere in the French Quarter, to the Riverwalk, aquarium, Harrah's casino and the National WWII museum (a MUST see). We didn't have a car while there, but there is valet parking service into a garage for $31 + tax a night. Be warned to allow 15 minutes for them to get your car, but you can call ahead.

This place is always my go to hotel when visiting for business or fun, not only is the location walking distance for just about anything you need. The staff always goes above and beyond to make your visit to New Orleans as pleasurable as possible. As soon as we walked in the door we greeted with a smile by Summer, who made sure we were happy with our rooms and was able to upgrade us to a room that better accommodated our group. It's this kind of service that has me returning to St Christopher for my 3rd time. Thanks Summer!

This is our third visit to New Orleans and absolutely love the service here. Especially from Summer, who greeted us at the front desk. She made sure all our accommodations were met and went above and beyond for us. Summer is awesome!!! Also they provide free breakfast which is so convenient.

    « Great Location »

Very nice hotel in a great location. We got a great deal on the room and visited a few weeks before Mardi Gras, there was still plenty to do and close to the hotel. Great value, reasonably priced room. Excellent breakfast.

    « Good location! »

Best part of hotel: closeness to French Quarter, friendly staff, small yet comfortable room, breakfast included in the price. Worst part: parking out front - you have to double park until the valet comes. You don't have much choice regarding parking so you end up taking the valet service at over 30 dollars per day.

    « Great location »

The location is great, the room was superb and clean. Parking is always a problem in the Big Easy, we got lucky and found a parking space in front of the hotel and since it was a national holiday it was free. Valet parking cost $30 a day. We had a room on the 2nd floor, which should have been nice, but we had loud banging from baggage dollies and workcarts through out the night.

    « Pretty decent »

We had trouble parking, but that is New Orleans for you, we finally got a space in front of the hotel. We just got off our cruise ship so our room wasn't ready and they let us put our stuff in a locked area which was cool. Beds were good, shower was good. The location was perfect. The breakfast sucked due to the pancake machine wasn't working, but when in New Orleans, I eat New Orleans. It was sufficient for our needs and would stay again if we were only going to be a night or two. Good price

« Group trip to New Orleans »

Booked a group of 7 rooms for 4 nights each for a college reunion trip to New Orleans. Hotel was ideally located to walk and take streetcars to French Quarter, other parts of the city. Staff was friendly and helpful, locating our rooms near one another. Valet service was prompt and polite with our cars and the in-and-out parking was convenient. And the price was fantastic in NO, an expensive destination.

« Great Location and Service »

This was our first time to New Orleans and were very happy with the location, service, and cleanliness of this hotel. The hotel is just steps from the streetcar and a very short walk to the French Quarter. We had no problems getting anywhere we needed without a car. There is a high-end mall and outlet mall a short walk away. There is also a convenience store next door. There are restaurants within walking distance and an excellent breakfast place across the street. The staff was very helpful. We had a problem with our in-room safe and they promptly fixed it. The breakfast is typical continental breakfast. It was pretty busy while we were there, but items got restocked fairly quickly. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. There's a fridge and coffee maker. The free wifi was fast. My only complaint is was the lack of counter space in the bathroom.

« "Excellent Hotel. Phenomenal Service" »

Our stay in this hotel was very enjoyable even compared to previous hotels that we have stayed at in New Orleans. To be quite honest, I did not expect the staff to be as efficient, respectful, and helpful as they were. A special thanks to Mrs Sonjia in the front desk. Room and others amenities was clean and great, everything was there in the right place and moment to make feel us like we were at home. Thank you!

    « First-timers in New Orleans »

In a crazy city like New Orleans, we wanted to make sure we were choosing the right hotel. It was only me and my little sister, driving across country, so as two younger girls (21-25), I wanted us to be somewhere safe, close enough to the French Quarter so that we could walk, and something in price range since we were on a tight budget. I did very extensive research.. like I was a little crazy haha. Finally, I chose the St. Christopher with the help of my friends husband who used to live in New Orleans. I'm so glad I did! It was a very cute hotel with very helpful staff. It was a little bit confusing at first... I passed by the hotel a couple of times before I finally saw it and I didn't know where to park or even pull over because the city is so dang crowded. While I was making my last loop around after passing the hotel for the third time, I called the hotel and the girl said to pull into the yellow section out front and someone will help me unload while I went inside to check in. Thankfully, I got a spot. If there is no room when you drive up, just make a couple of loops.. it clears up eventually! So I checked in with a nice girl and all of our stuff was brought up by a bellhop and our car was safely taken to valet parking so I didn't have to park on the busy street. I was nervous because we also had a 65lb black lab with us with anxiety issues when she's left alone. Of course, we were in New Orleans so we wanted to go out and have fun! We turned on the TV to a good volume and walked out of the room. Our dog barked twice and then whined a bit. Now in New Orleans, it's not often quiet, so we felt comfortable enough to leave. We went downstairs and I spoke to the girl at the front desk. Told her that we have a dog and left our number and to call us if there was any issue at all with noise or anything. She was very relieved because most people don't care. Was very understanding and said it wouldn't be an issue. Yay! So we went out, had a WONDERFUL time and just completely fell in love with the city. The next morning, we called the valet and bellhop and he came up promptly to get our stuff and by the time we got downstairs, our car was waiting for us. So be warned, it is a very busy city (we went in August). My one piece of advice.. you have to be patient! Whether you're staying at the St. Christopher or one of the other many hotels or homes, there is limited parking and a lot of traffic. Don't worry though, you'll get there! Relax and have a great time! Enjoy the city and all of its culture and unique character! And go to Pat O'Briens! Try the alligator bites, their trio (red beans and rice, jambalaya, and gumbo samplers), the seasonal seafood cakes, and of course their famous Hurricane!

Everyone at this hotel goes out of their way to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. James and the rest of the management team made both my wife and I feel welcome and assisted us in every question we've had.

our stay was so wonderful and fun. From check-in to check-out the staff was great. Our room was spotless. The location to everything was so handy. We liked having our car in a secure parking area. We liked the closeness of the attractions we came to see. Loved riding the trolley again since leaving Ca.

This is the second time this year, that I have stayed at the Best Western St.Christopher in New Orleans. Both times have been a really nice stay , for a reasonable price. I have stayed at many hotels in New Orleans over the years, and I would highly recommend this one for it's price ,location, comfort and cleanliness.

    « Great accommodation »

Great location of this hotel just meters from Canal street. The staff are mostly friendly. A few dramas with the checkin but the manager was very helpful. The included breakfast is good but not a loss of you miss it. The rooms were clean the bedding soft and the beds nice, the views onto the street are also good. Would be great for families or singles looking to hit bourbon street.

    « Awesome Placce »

Great hotel! Perfect Location. Take advantage of the valet parking as the hotel is 15 minutes away from just about everything you want! They let us in on a great bus tour around the city which they set up for us! Well worth the price in my opinion. They also reserved us a spot for the Steamboat Natchez Lunch Jazz cruise. Great food on the cruise and pretty good Dixieland Jazz band. Staff is wonderful! Hats off toe Summer and Ariel at the front desk. Ariel pointed out an awesome restaurant for us just down the street called Huck Finns! Superb food and short walk. Will definitely book this hotel again when we are in New Orleans!!!

« Great atmosphere, great location »

The Best Western St Christopher in New Orleans is a gorgeous little boutique hotel with a little bit of quaint French and rustic character. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast is substantial. It is in a great location just off Canal street and within walking distance to most of the major New Orleans attractions. I would thoroughly recommend it.

« Excellent Location - close to everything »

The is a nice little hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. I got one of the smaller Queen interior rooms, but there was plenty of room and a nice bathroom. There is a refrigerator in each room. No complaints.(Note they charge a $1 a night safe fee, even if you don't use it. Not a big deal, really.) The breakfast is typical, but there is enough variety for all. The best part is your ability to walk everywhere in the French Quarter. You are just off Decatur ST and a few blocks from Bourbon ST. If you want to ride, the street cars pass right by the corner along Canal ST. Since I like to walk and explore all the little shops, this was perfect for me. (Hint: If you are walking, stop in all the candy stores they have free samples! We also stumbled on K-Paul's Louisiana's kitchen for dinner and had a great meal.)

We enjoyed this hotel and we will stay here again next time we are in New Orleans. This hotel is in an excellent location. It was very quiet at night. Plenty of close restaurants. I highly recommend this to anyone.

    « Convenient & reasonably priced. »

This hotel is practically on Canal St & we caught the Loyola Streetcar from the train station to the hotel. We walked often to the French Quarter, to the river & to Harrahs. We also caught the bus from nearby. Walls are thin, so bring earplugs. Cute decor. Our room had a window which is probably better than the rooms without Windows. Would stay here again.

All good but for the cleanliness mostly notably in the bathroom. AC did not really blow cold but more cool throughout stay. First time I write a hotel review. Desk Personnel and valet were very helpful. Kitchen area a little tight as far as space.

« No Window Room but Wonderful Location »

When we first arrived we were told that valet was $41 per night and because it was Bayou Classic weekend another $30 per day insurance deposit was needed to ensure our room. I personally think all these extra fees should have been mentioned when booking the room. Once we get to our room the air wasn't working so someone had to be called to fix it. Then as I'm looking around I notice there is NO WINDOWS in the room. I've never stayed in a room with no view. Very different. We didn't know if it was day or night, sunny or raining. The second day the ac unit started leaking really bad and had to call someone to fix it. Check out day the toilet was stopped up... What and interesting weekend. Now don't get me wrong, the location was everything. We were in walking distance to everything, French Quarters, Bourbon St., Super Dome, and of course Harrah Casino. All in all it was a great weekend!

« Neat gem tucked away near the French Quarter »

We were pleasantly surprised by this small hotel on Magazine Street, right next to Canal and the trolleys. A comfortable bed, nice free breakfast, a courteous staff and valet parking made it all a pleasant stay, and a good value. A bit hard to find in the dark, but pay close attention and you will be fine. We loved it.

« Nice place to stay »

Very clean. Interesting use of old brick throughout the property. Parking was a little pricey and was far away. Took a little time to get the car in the morning. The valet person brought the wrong car the first time, had to bring it back, and then bring our car. Took almost 1/2 hour to get our car. Breakfast was as expected. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

    « What a Gem!! »

This hotel is reasonably priced and sits right on the edge of The French Quarter. It is accessible to both the bus and trolley routes. We had an interior room but as my companion doesn't like heights this was not a problem for us. All the staff was helpful and friendly and the manager made some excellent recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. We actually went to The Ruby Slipper (next door) everyday for breakfast. Juanita on the bar was super friendly and made the best Hurricanes. This hotel is well maintained and our room was cleaned daily around OUR schedule. Housekeeping never made us feel like we were in their way or interrupting their schedule. EVERYONE was very personable. Close to the Casino, the river front outlet and as I said - The French Quarter - everything was within walking distance for us.

    « Unacceptable! »

Arrived at 11 and realize checkin was at 4, but was told 1:30 the room would be ready. Came back at 2 and told would't be ready till 4. That was just another lie. We finally got in our room at almost 6pm! The bellhop was useless as he was more interested in helping some young ladies with the tv instead of helping with our bags. My wife needed her insulin and he told he to wait while he helped the ladies with the tv. We just took our own bags to the room. We found no sheets, blanket, or pillows for the fold out sofa. The mattress on it was useless and uncomfortable. The room was very nice, but the service was horrible. They did take $50 off my room rate and offered late checkout, but the staff needs lots of help in this service based industry.

« No window, but central located »

A very cheap Hotel which is located within walking distance to every important hot spot of the city. Make sure you get a room with a window. As we all (group of 5, 2 night private following to a business stay in another Hotel) had a room with a fake window (mirror!!!). Don't eat the breakfast - we all got sick.

    « St.Christopher hotel »

This is an older hotel that was sorely in need of upgrades after hurricane Katrina. Much has been done since I visited this hotel a few years ago. I had a double room that was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and towels, supplies etc.were plentiful. I just can't say enough good things about the staff.Every single person I encountered there was friendly, efficient and courteous.I have never been treated this well in a hotel before. There is a complimentary breakfast area off the lobby with a good assortment of breakfast items. I am most impressed with how well they have brought this hotel back . I have stayed in a number of hotels in New Orleans, but this was by far the best value for me. ?? For their wonderful staff

The location is ideal as it across the street from the French Quarter and just a few blocks from the river. The rooms were clean. The breakfast area was large enough so that everyone dining could have a seat and the breakfast options were good. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were quaint and clean.

Location is great for French Quarter (less than a block away). World War 2 museum (6 blocks straight down magazine street). River and Convention Center are just a few blocks away. And proximity to Canal opens great public transport. Hotel itself is quaint and well maintained. Clean. Friendly and attentive staff. Great, affordable option with free breakfast.

« Great location, Great Price, Nice rooms »

I was in bind for a hotel when I arrived into town and found the hotel on hotels.com having a sale. They were closest to my friends who were attending a conference at the Marriott so I was happy to find out that they had room. I wish I knew the reservation persons name but she was amazingly kind. She helped me during a quick bit of panic not having a place to stay and got me taken care of quickly. She explained everything to me and gave me the same deal I found online. I got a great room that was clean and spacious. When I arrived the front desk employee was very helpful. I will definitely stay in this hotel again if I am ever back in New Orleans.

3 buddies decided to hit up New Orleans for 2 nights before going to a college football game. This hotel was a great price and location. Easy walk to French Quarter, casino and World War 11 museum. great breakfast place, the Ruby Slipper, right across the street. The room was large enough for third guy to set up inflatable bed. Overall we were pleased.

    5
« Great location, great price »

I picked this hotel because of proximity to New Orleans Marriott, where I had a meeting. It was much less expensive, and just a hop, skip & jump around the corner, was very convenient. Very nice facility!

    « Stayed from 11/12-11/13 »

While the room was delightfully larger than than pictured online, there were a few faults. To begin with, there is supposed to be a full bar. While I tried to order a mixed a drink, 3 out of 4 choices weren't available. The response was that they were waiting on a delivery. The next day a group of gentlemen tried to order beers that were displayed as available; the one they wanted wasn't available either. It's New Orleans-the bar should be fully stocked at all times. Moving on to the bed linens, there was dried, bright red nail polish on the comforter much to our surprise. They mopped the floors at 8:30 am, quite possibly the busiest time of day. There wasn't enough seating in the breakfast area and the breakfast choices were dismal. For the price we paid, it was very disappointing. The highlights were the location and the bell hops/valets.

    2
    « Okay place »

Rooms were nice. We had a brick faced wall, which was pretty. The only problem I had with the hotel was that the staff are not friendly at all. I asked for 10 One dollars bills to tip the valet and purchase trolley tickets and the lady at the front desk refused to give them to me. Overall, just a bunch of unfriendly staff, which was unusual for New Orleans. Most of the time the people of New Orleans are very nice

    « Good location. That's it. »

This is an old building in a great location. Rooms are small and not comfortable. They also have a not so pleasant smell, sheets had an odd smell to them too, definitely not fresh. Forced to initial a form acknowledging a safe fee prior to being allowed to check-in. They absolutely refused to relax this fee. I don't care if the safe fee is listed at the bottom of hotel amenities on their web site or it is only $1 per night. It is a bogus fee if I am not going to use the safe. Why not jack the room rate up a dollar instead of this stupid fee. I travel extensively for the Military and they do not reimburse for unnecessary fees such as this. It's the principle of the thing though, not the amount. I've run into this before at another chain of hotels and it has been no problem to remove the fee when requested, but not this one. It's more important for management to make an extra buck than to satisfy an unhappy customer.

« Comfortable Hotel in Great Location »

We had a very comfortable stay at the Best Western Plus and St Christopher. It is in a very convenient location, within 5 minutes walking distance of the French Quarter. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and lots of shops and an excellent retail park nearby. The staff are particularly welcoming and helpful . The breakfast is great and plentiful with a great selection of hot and cold items to choose from. We had a very comfortable and clean room with a large double bed. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay in it again.

« Great stay! Great valet and all around customer service. »

All of the staff were great. Summer and Jamar we so helpful and pleasant. The room was so clean and comfortable and pretty. The lobby was also clean and very pretty. The best part of our stay was valet. We arrived way before check in and John, the valet guy was wonderful and held our bags while we visited the city before check in. He made recommendation of places to visit and was so right! In the morning for check out, he also held our bags while we went to his recommended restaurant and it was delicious. John was friendly and joked with us about the city and events while we waited for our car to be brought to us. John was the best!

« Not worth the money »

Staff came into room without knocking, then said she thought our room was vacant. The room smelled of mildew, it was hot, safe was broken. Not worth the money. We will stay across the street at the Marriott on our next visit.

    « great hotel! »

Beautiful hotel in a great area close to the French Quarter although the street where the hotel is located is not so busy. Very nice decorated room with good wifi. Valet parking is expensive but necessary because public parking is even more expensive. Very friendly and helpfull employees at the front desk. Breakfast was ok when everything was filled up but sometimes there where things empty.

« Average for the price »

This hotel is in a very nice location, but it is very bare bones. Our room did not even have a window! If you plan on barely being in the hotel it is not a bad place to stay. We had trouble with our TV reception, the vending machine on our floor, and the room was not cleaned to satisfaction.

« WORTH THE TRIP BACK!! »

My boyfriend and I decided on a last minute trip to New Orleans for Halloween. Many hotels were booked up and so I was excited to see that the Best Western had vacancies but a little worried as to why they had vacancies when so many others didn't. From the time we arrived and was greeted by the valet driver, we experienced nothing but THE BEST customer service!!! Our room was ready prior to the 3PM check in time, another gentlemen took our bags to our room, let us know he would be there all weekend to assist. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of all of the attractions, French Quarter, Casino, Outlets, etc. Needless to say, we decided the day before checking out that we would be back again!!

« Remember You're here for Bourbon Street »

Prior to arriving here, we read the reviews and some were awful. We were nervous but were pleasantly surprised. The room was a bit small but it was clean. The beds were coomfortable. The furnishings are a bit warn. If the size of the room is important this hotel is not fot you. If you're in the big E Z to party and just need a clean place to flop, this is your place. I gave this hotel a rating od three not because there was anything seriously with it but becase it is not a Marriott or Sheraton quality. It matches up w/ HI and HI Exp. The only down sides were that hotel parking was five blocks away so we valeted the car. If you are going to dine in the French Quarter you can walk easily to your favorite restaurant from the hotel. I was glad for the walk since it helped walk off thosee great meals. The morning breakfast area is a bit chaotic, but if your headed for Cafe du Monde, Brennans or Commander's Palace, who cares. If not, then get there early.

« Not the BEST Western that we are used to »

Stopped at this hotel for 2 nights pre-cruise with my family. We arrived late evening and were asked upon check in to leave a deposit of $10 per person per night a total of $60, my wife first tried to do on her credit card, declined, I tried on mine, declined and eventually we had to use our pre-paid card, we were assured that we would get this back within 3-5 days after we had checked out. When we got to out room both my wife and I rang our card companies in the UK at cost to us to see why they had declined the payments, we were both told that the hotel had been inputting the wrong expiry date for both cards, not certain why they would need to do manually as they were swiping the cards. Upon return from our cruise 7 days later I checked my pre-paid card and to my surprise no Ecuador yet received, I have emailed the hotal but as I am leaving tomorrow it seems unlikely that I will get a prompt response or my money back to spen whilst in the states!!!! Now to the hotel itself, it has free wifi and offers a continental breakfast. Wifi was good and fast even in the room, the only real plus point apart from its location, right next to Canal Street. The breakfast was just ok if I am honest and our room didn't even have a window, not great. I would only recommend this hotel as a budget option and wouldn't recommend to my friends which is a real shame as I was expecting a really good stay here.

« Big Chain with New Orleans Style »

I have stayed here several times. The location is outstanding. The staff, is excellent. Rooms are small, but very comfortable. The exposed brick in many rooms just adds to the New Orleans experience. The valet service is excellent and well worth it if your going to be driving outside the Quarter.

    « Great hotel.. Great staff...Great location »

We reached there around 9:00 am.I was pleasantly surprised when they offered to check us in if our room is ready! It was not, but they did let us check in our luggage. They offered us coffee. The room we got was small yet big enough for two.Even though the hotel is right next to busy canal street, it was not noisy at all. Bus stop was in the next intersection. 15 minutes walk to Jackson Square or Riverwalk outlet . 10 minutes walk to Bourbon Street. The pancake maker in the breakfast room was out of order other wise breakfast was ok.The price of the room was reasonable.

Traveling for business mixed with pleasure. Chose this hotel over other at this price range because of the Best Western name. This was a very nice hotel, with friendly staff & a great location. Just a few short blocks to the heart of the French quarter. We had a nice room with brick feature walls and some of the old architecture details from what the building used to be. The breakfast was good & the cheaper parking ($25 for 24hrs) was right behind the hotel. The staff was very accommodating on letting us check in early &check out late. Would def stay again.

Valet was very prompt and took our bags to the room. Front desk fast, very nice and moved as quick as possible at check in. The room was amazing. Great view of the city and decore was so New Orleans. Upon check out we were running very late. We thought a river boat tour would leave us enough time for check out time. We were very wrong. Got back to the hotel 45 min after checkout. We were quickly greeted and given a new key to retrieve our luggage. I tried to explain the reason for being late and was interrupted with," Sir, no need to explain. This is New Orleans. These things happen and it's no problem. I'm only upset that your family ran back to the hotel. There was no need for that. " We travel to New Orleans every month. Tried different hotels. This was our first here. We will continue to come here from now on. Walking distance to everything.

I searched for the perfect hotel for days and I'm so glad I ended up booking this one. The staff was so friendly and answered all of my questions. Juanita at the bar was fabulous (buy one get one 1/2 off drinks when the bar is open). The rooms were clean. We had one with beautiful exposed brick and plenty of Windows. Beds were smaller than I anticipated, but still okay (I believe they were doubles). We had a conference at the Convention Center so location was key for us. This hotel was located in between the French Quarter and the convention center (about 15 minutes to walk either way) and right off of Canal Street. There's a Street Car/Trolley stop right outside the hotel on Canal St. Overall, we were completely satisfied with this hotel and I would definitely stay again!

Excellent hotel and very convenient to all we wanted to see and do. Extremely clean and comfortable bed! Would definitely stay here again! We were on 9th floor facing tear, view of Harrah's and Mississippi River from window. Very quiet and accommodating. ..whenever we requested more towels, they were brought within minutes.

« Good stay good value »

I was here on business and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality and convenience of the St. Christopher Hotel. I wasn't sure where to park so I called the desk and was advised that they had valet parking which was reasonable and convenient.

I'll keep it short and sweet. Easy check-in. Clean room. Fridge in room. Friendly and helpful staff. HOT coffee. Great location. Just across Canal Street to The Quarter. Convenience store on the corner. Next door to The Ruby Slipper. Free use of computer and printer. Would definitely stay here again.

« Great people, okay hotel »

This hotel is in an excellent location. Steps away from Canal St. There's also a store on the corner. Check in was easy and the front desk staff is amazing. The room was a little small for two adults. The bathroom was very tight and no counter space. My room didn't have a window (which I was advised of) so I felt a little disconnected to what time it was or what the weather was like each day. If you're looking for a place to basically sleep then this is it. I wouldn't recommend if you're traveling with children. The staff was great, hotel just okay.

« Great location, super friendly service »

I have to say that I was expecting a rather boring chain hotel sort of stay from this 'best western' hotel. I was very pleased with the friendly service from the moment I arrived to check in. The morning continental breakfast was not the highlight of this stay, but I was grateful to have a good cup of coffee and some toast before heading out to my conference in the hotel in the next block. The staff members, that I met in the hallways, elevator, or in the breakfast area, made me feel very comfortable as they readily engaged me in conversation. The room was beautiful, clean, and the bathroom was spacious. I was a block away from Canal street and the Quarter was just across the way, so I could grab a good coffee or lunch at any of the hundreds of unique establishments and avoid the pricier and less quality that I would have found in the conference hotel. On top of all this, I forgot my phone charger and returned several hours after having checked out to try to retrieve it. The bell hop literally ran and got the cleaning staff members to assist in locating it; which they did. I was soooo happy. I will definitely plan to stay here the next time I come to NOLA!!

Staff, from front desk to breakfast staff to maintenance to valet all were extremely polite and very, very helpful. would like to have had the room made up much earlier than 5:00 pm though. Cold water is warm, but always plenty of hot water for shower and bath. Great location.
