"Best by far"
Maria D, 10 Mars 2023

The room was spotlessly clean, the hotel is positioned close to the train station, the town Centre and all the sights. But best of all was the staff - they were outstanding in every way. They could not have been more polite friendly and helpful.

"Comfortable stay"
sparty328, 12 Novembre 2019

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst on business. After the 2.5 hour train journey from Paris the hotel is just a 5 min walk. The receptionist was very helpful and spoke far better English than I spoke French. Room was clean, spacious, traditional rather than modern. Includes coffee facility and safe. Unfortunately there's no power points by the bed. The bathroom was large with a bath with overhead shower but strange that there was no shower curtain. Quality of food and service in the restaurant was very good but somewhat expensive. The continental breakfast was good with very nice bread. I did experience an issue with the internet but this had been resolved by the time I returned to the hotel in the evening.

"Loved this Hotel"
Connector574963, 12 Novembre 2018

This was our favorite hotel on our recent trip to the Loire River region. The receptionist was very welcoming and helped us communicate with her as she spoke some English and we only a bit of French. She helped us with directions around town. The hotel was clean and lovely. We opted for the “swift” breakfast of croissants and coffee that was served in a cute room on the main floor. From the hotel it was an easy walk to the train station.

"Good place to stay "
Onlily, 15 Novembre 2017

This hotel is well situated in the city. The receptionists are very polite and helpful with information about the city and maps. The rooms are a bit out fashion but very comfortable and clean what is very important. The toiletries are available every day in the bathroom. Breakfast complete with delicious croissants!

"Lovely "
984jos, 22 Août 2017

Whilst traveling through France we booked this last minute (an hour before arrival) through booking.com. We new its star rating was 3* so didn't expect much but it was somewhere to rest for the night. On arrival we were met by a lovely French lady who upgraded our standard room to a superior. The room itself was still quite basic however it was spotlessly clean. The hotel is quaint and pretty. The 3 people we spoke to at reception could not do enough to help us with maps, parking and anything else we asked about. We opted to use their secure parking for 10€ across the street which was worth it. We had breakfast which is served downstairs under the hotel. The breakfast was a lovely continental buffet breakfast and the room beautiful. All in all a really nice hotel for what you pay ... not expensive, not flashy but just lovely and friendly.

"Pilgrimage to See St. Bernadette"
Dzyacky, 24 Avril 2017

We traveled from Lourdes France and after driving 9 hours we went to check in. We were then told that they were overbooked due to computer problems. We paid and booked our room ahead of time to receive a true lack of customer service and indifference. Just awful! We were then told that they reserved us a room in a 4 star hotel...you be the judge? One towel for two people. Best Western is this how customers should be treated?

"Basic but good value for money"
fdbenke, 08 Octobre 2016

We arrived here an route from Italy to the UK and prebooked a couple of nights for a look around. First it's quite central in the town and easy to find. It has a good private garage nearby which was important to us as we had an expensive new car. The reception we received from the very sweet middle-aged lady was cordial and helpful. Realising our French was weak she did her very best in English and even offered us some helpful tourist advice for attreactions nearby. Our room (105) was spacious, comfortable and clean. It had a kettle and a nice marble tiled bathroom. Looking out to the rear it was also free of any traffic noise. What was quirky was the lack of a shower curtain around the bath and the fact there was a very pronounced slope in the floor. So much so that one side of the wardrobe had to be supported. We opted for breakfast in what must have been the cellar and it was very good and varied. There was even a fresh orange juice crushed but no cooked option, just the usual cold meats and cheese but if good quality. We got a very good price for our room and strangely like this hotel. However, the reception staff the following morning were a little cooler with us and totally incapable of speaking any English. Very odd!

"GREAT BUT NEEDS A/C"
alain_deveaux, 02 Septembre 2016

Extremely well decorated and conveniently located for tourists. Rooms are beautiful but lack a/c, which is a need in summer. Staff is very friendly and breakfasts are great. Garage is available and outside the hotel, not far though.

"undeserving three stars"
c_candide, 18 Septembre 2015

Basic hotel that carries the Best Western label with very little pride and merit. Mediocre service, noisy, ventilated, mosquito-filled room (even though we received an "upgrade"). Vibrating wooden flooring and moldy bathrooms. The beds were nice, firm and large. Considering the Nivernois is a poor region of France and considering the lack of business travelers that stop in Nevers, we have to muster some understanding for the low quality/price ratio of this type of primitive and outdated lodging.

"Outdated Hotel"
TONARKK1226, 14 Septembre 2015

Chose this hotel for it's location on our way to visit St. Bernadette's shrine. Hotel did not have any air conditioning, furnishings were outdated, still using brass keys to open your room. Staff on duty on our arrival hardly spoke English. They offered free wifi. Shower was in the bathtub but there was no shower curtain such that water was splashing all over the place. Room was clean; bed covers were really outdated - velvety material. Parking was across the street which you had to access by punching some code on the wall. Entering the "parking garage" was tricky. It looked like the underground of a building without any designation of some sort of where to park.

"very pleasant stay at Best Western De Diane"
Blessie G, 11 Septembre 2015

Our stay at Best Western De Diane, Nevers, France was very pleasant. The personnel were very helpful and very friendly. The staff knows how to speak English and this definitely made our stay more comfortable. Its short distance from the train station and the few areas worth visiting made our stay more convenient.

"Stopped off one night cycling through"
callumCampbell, 15 Juin 2015

Great location in not so lovely town, good ac and nice clean room with BBC TV and great bath. Restaurant next door was good. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was great with squeezable oranges.very good parking facilities across the road.

"Convenient"
Kathie H, 29 Septembre 2014

We stayed in this hotel on our way to a canal trip. The room was small but very clean. The staff was helpful. They even allowed us to have a little cocktail party in a room off the lobby. It is an easy walk to the train station.

"De Diane a real gem!"
Tony G, 16 Septembre 2014

I strongly recommend this hotel. It is close to everything, particularly the Nevers train station. The staff is efficient, friendly and polite. Don't check out before having the EXCELLENT complimentary breakfast. The best breakfast we've ever had a hotel by far! We will stay here again for certain.

"Pleasant Town Centre Hotel"
wandererBracknell, 22 Juillet 2014

Hotel was easy to find using direction signs dotted around the town. Also easy to leave the town It is about 5-10 minutes walk from everywhere you need to go- station, river, cathedral etc. We used the secure parking at €11 all day, but cheaper on-street pay parking available just outside. Possible free parking further afield. Receptionist was helpful. Our second floor room was comfortably furnished, but not well ventilated, No air-con, but a fan provided. Strange room layout- toilet was at opposite end of room to bathroom. A big disappointment was that there was no hot water- the system had broken down- hopefully fixed by the time you stay. Wi-Fi was free. A tea/coffee tray was provided on our request. Bed was comfy, there was hardly any noise in the hotel, or on the street . Breakfast choice was small but adequate, and of good quality. Check out was efficient.

"Expensive"
345melaniew345, 14 Octobre 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst attending a WSBK meeting at Magny-Cours. I did think £100 per night (without breakfast!) was a bit expensive but being the nearest large town to the circuit knew the prices would have been hiked a bit. Luckily I had booked well in advance because anybody walking in off the street looking for a double room would have been charged double that (this was lowered back to approx 80 Euro on the Monday once Magny-Cours was over) Our 'superior' double room was very small and old fashioned, it was like staying in somebody's spare room. Our view was the back of other buildings. There was also no kettle/tea/coffee, though I believe you could ask the front desk for them. The bathroom was modern, the shower brilliant and everything was spotlessly clean.. Also it was very quiet in the night. The staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast, which I think cost 13euro per day, per person, was self service, all you could eat. All in all it was a decent stay but really would have expected to pay alot less for it.
