BEST WESTERN Narvik Hotell is situated 115 meters above sea level, surrounded by beautiful nature next to Narvikfjellet, representing one of the most spectacular ski resorts in northern Europe. Taking just a step outside our hotel, the mountain lift brings you up to Narvikfjellet, 655 meters above sea level. From this point, you can enjoy the fantastic view to the fjord Ofotfjorden and the surrounding mountains. Our hotel was built in 1989 and consists today of 40 rooms, including two family rooms and one handicap room. There are good parking facilities in front of the hotel. Furthermore, BEST WESTERN Narvik Hotell can offer three conference rooms with capacity for up to 80 persons. Our restaurant 'Skistua Spiseri' can hold 120 persons, as well as a lobby bar. Narvik is situated on a half-peninsula in the inner part of the Ofotfjorden, surrounded by great mountains. This part of Norway represents the second narrowest part of the mainland. It takes only a few hours to walk across the country from the Swedish border to the Norwegian coast on the other side. Narvik is situated on the crossroads between E6 in north/south bound directions and E10 West-/eastwards to Lofoten and Sweden. The wild and beautiful nature makes Narvik a perfect starting point for exciting adventures. Enjoy your stay.

    « Bad experience »

We were staying at this hotel in October 2016 in a Budget Rooms. First of all there was all over terrible smell of food even in our room, date and night. Room was also dirty especially floor and chairs. There was people's noises late at night because there were also staying some emigrants who stayed up very late. Even though breakfast was very good.

    « Best location »

Very well located and near to rope way but if you are coming from main road after getting down bus, mind yours walking uphill and ensure you are light weight with less luggage as you have to walk . Breakfast and dinner is available and staff support you like friends and they're very friendly. Chef helped us in getting vegetarian food specially cooked for us in Norwegian way. Calm place and if you're lucky you can see northern light from there. In the night panoramic view of city waits yours admiring when you walk just 200 meters from the hotel. There is a big store nearby and you can enjoy yours stay at really reasonable cost

« Great breakfast and friendly staff »

Comfy beds, clean rooms, good showers, great breakfast, but slightly tired decor. We have stayed here twice now at the beginning and end of our trip around northern Scandinavia, the first time in the 'budget rooms' side which is in an attached building next door to the Best Western, and the second time we got a room upgrade to a Best Western room. The budget room was fine, clean and comfy but the building itself seems to have a permanent smell of curry...great if you like curry! However this didn't put us off going back, but the second time our room got upgraded to the Best Western building, which meant a bigger room and newer bathroom and without the smell of cooking all the time. Both rooms were very clean. For both the budget and best western you get the free breakfast, which is brilliant! Loads of variety and it's all really tasty, you can even make your own waffles-yum! The hotel itself is in a pretty good location, particularly for skiing as there is a ski lift opposite the building, it's also great for hiking and we saw quite a few mountain biking routes while we were hiking too. We came in October so we were lucky enough to see the northern lights, and twice we saw them in the car park of the hotel! The staff are really friendly, in particular Greta and Barbara, they both told us some great places to go hiking, sight seeing and to see the northern lights and were really helpful with various other requests too.

    « Student dank »

I don't know if this is converted student dormitory or what, but it's surrounded by small student apartments which gives it that concrete block student dank feel. If that's your thing, then have a great time. What saved this place from a poor review were the helpful and courteous staff, and the breakfast was of a class that far exceeded the rest of facility. I noted too that it's just across the road from the ski-lift, something to keep in mind if you're there in the season.

    « Good value »

We stayed in the budget rooms next to the main hotel. The building is clean but a bit tired and worn. However the room was clean and comfortable although the TV only has 4 channels all in Swedish. The restaurant evening meal was very good and the breakfast had a good variety. The Wi-fi is slow but does work better in the main building. Car parking is free but it's not a secure car park. The hotel is convenient for the ski-lift but is a long walk down to the town centre.

« A good location with fair prices for overnight stays »

The hotel itself was a bit tricky to find. It is lore on the hill located. The parking isn't of concrete and the entry looked more imrpovised as well done. hopefull in future they will change it. The parking was for free and has recharge boxes for plug in eletric/hybrids cars. unfortunate at the veneing time they were closed and the hotel staff didn't had the key. The staff itself was friendly and the check-in was smoothly. The room was of good standard as was the bathroom. Still the clean up crew could go a bit more into the details and fixing screeching shower doors.. Overall it was clean and no bigger issues were discovered. The breakfast had a fair varity and was as everywhere buffet.

« Good value, outstanding breakfast »

We stayed in one of the budget rooms. The room was nice. It was about 15 min walk downhill to the city centre, a while longer up the hill. The breakfast was great: bread, waffles, yoghurt, fry your own egg, fruits, coffee, tea....

    « Disaster! »

Nothing was ok. Dirty old rooms. No air conditioning. No glasses in the bathroom. Poor breakfast. Too expensive for the service that offers. Said so, it would have been better to choose a camping. Never again.

    « Nice Hotel »

There aren't many places to stay in Narvik. This hotel is convenient because it's right across the road from the cable car that goes up the mountain. Restaurants aren't that close, but they have a restaurant inside the hotel and a grocery store next door. The breakfast has a wide variety of food while the dinner service is more selective. Each night there was one dish that was self service. If requested the chef can prepare food accommodating allergies/ lifestyles with no problem. The staff was very helpful in what to do around town and great with making you feel at home. The only complaint I would have is the shower wasn't sealed very well so the floor did get very wet after showering.

    « A hotel for hikers »

I booked this hotel aware of the fact that it is about 1 km from the train station, but I quickly realized that this is not a hotel for the faint of heart, since the 15 minutes walk from the station to the hotel is all uphill. Unless you arrive by car or some other vehicle, don't book this hotel if you have a problem with walking. The hotel is nicely located at the base of Narvikfjellet and the cable car up the mountain is just across the street. A supermarket is located right next to the hotel, as well. At first, I was placed in room 109. Unfortunately, the window of that room is about 3 meters from the entrance a lot of smokers choose to use when feeling the urge to poison their lungs, which was very noticable in the room. It smelled like an ashtray in there. As a person who gets migraines from the smell of cigarette smoke, I quickly realized that I wouldn't manage two nights in that room. The staff was kind enough to place me in another room instead, which I'm very grateful for. The rooms were clean and decent sized with a good sized bathroom. I did miss an in-room safe, the foot towel (to put on the bathroom floor after showering) and a toilet brush, but otherwise I'm pleased with the standard of the rooms. The wifi was fast and reliable. The breakfast buffet was excellent with tons of choices and the staff kept the tables clean and refilled the dishes when they ran out of food. If you don't mind walking, or arrive by vehicle, I recommend this hotel. If you have problems walking, book another hotel.

« Old hotel but clean »

The Best Western Narvik is a good hotel, located close to the cable cars. The hotel must certainly to be refreshed. The rooms are quite old but clean and correctly equipped. The staff is welcoming and friendly, ready to help. The breakfast buffet as the diner buffet were not exceptionnal but tasty.

« Quiet clean and very relaxed »

We stayed in a budget room just during a long drive as a stopover. Great breakfast buffet, very clean and quiet. The location is great to allow for an easy morning run or hike up the slopes if one doesn't want to cross the town before reaching free nature. We liked it there.

    « Basic but comfortable »

We had the budget rooms, they were a little smaller and it was a bit of a walk from reception but overall the room was comfortable, the amenties worked fine, WiFi was reliable, parking was easy outside in front of the hotel and with no stairs it was convenient with luggage. Breakfast was included and there was a nice selection including hot food. When we arrived they had a dinner buffet so we tried that too and though the selection was small the food was really tasty.

The Best Western Narvik was a comfortable stay. The room was nice and clean and equipped with everything you need. The complimentary breakfast was great. The location is right across from the ski resort.

    « Great place »

It was the best hotel in my tip. The location in amazing just next to ski slope. Hotel restaurant has an amazing view also free breakfast with accommodation which was amazing. Staff was helpful. Room was nice and clean with a window through which I saw northern lights. Though drinks are expensive but its norway and it has to be expensive. Also you can see northern lights just outside the hotel

« Excellent if you are just here to ski! »

I'm not going to spend time telling you the negatives of this hotel. It's basic and that is reflected in the budget pricing of the rooms. Quality wise it reminded me a bit of halls of residence at university and the soundproofing between the rooms isn't great. But, that said, everything in the room worked (including a modern flat screen TV) there was plenty of hot water, a soft but comfortable bed and the option to eat in the hotel. The food is simple (Lasagna, Taco, soup etc) and fixed menu, but it is not bad quality and there is no restriction on how much you eat so perfect for the hungry skier and boarder? The restaurant staff will make more if anything runs out. At 180NOK it may sound expensive but in context taking a taxi into town will cost you almost 200NOK each way. The key selling point of this hotel though has to be its access to Narvikfjellet. very nearly ski-in, ski-out Just lacking snow in the tunnel opposite the hotel. It's hard to beat the location and if I was coming here again to ski I would definitely consider this hotel again for that reason. No hassle with taxis or parking in the mornings and evenings. The staff at the desk and in the kitchen are great and very friendly. So in short. If you are looking for a budget ski trip, take the flybussen from Evenes to Narvik bus station, then a taxi to here where you will find cheaper rooms than the other hotels in town and right next to the slopes and wont have to go far until the day you are leaving. Sometimes this hotel runs packages with the ticket and meal included. A good deal if you know you are going to eat here.

« Right next to ski slope »

Got the Flybussen from airport which is very easy and convenient. Cost was 400 NOK return to Narvik and very scenic ride. Got off outside the Grand Hotel and the Best Western is a long walk up the hill from town (takes about 20-25 mins, depending on how many times you stop to catch your breath- someone should hire out golf buggys, they would make a fortune. Great location if you are skiing, as is right next door to the slopes. Dinner starts at 4pm, which is a tad early for most people, and is self serve, but if you go in an hour or two after that, you might get the end of the food, which is not appetising. But there is a good supermarket right next door. The bed - mattress was very soft and probably old, as were the pillows, could do with an upgrade. Bathroom was very clean - shower was good. Breakfast was very relaxed and you could cook your own fried eggs on a big hotplate, so it was freshly cooked every morning. Adequate selection of items to choose from. Very friendly, delightful reception staff who were only too happy to answer in their impeccable english, any questions you may have.

« Nice hotel convenient location »

This is a nice comfortable, clean hotel very well situated for ski lift , we only stayed for one night as we were driving to Kilpisjarvi the next day. The complimentary breakfast was good with a reasonable choice

    « Great hotel »

We only stayed for one night, but found this hotel to be comfortable and warm. The complimentary breakfast is tasty, and the dinner buffet, although simple, is relatively inexpensive considering Norwegian prices. Our room was clean and well presented, and the complex is located relatively close to both the train and bus stations. Would stay again, especially if skiing on the nearby slopes.

    « Lovely helpful staff »

We arrived late but had a lovely warm welcome . The rooms were pretty basic but had all we needed . The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom and bedroom nice and modern . Breakfast was included and was really lovely . It was easy to find and there was ample staff. All in all good value

    « Good hotel for a stopover »

We stayed at this hotel on our way back from the Lofoten Islands. We were flying to Oslo the next day. The hotel is out of the way from the city centre and you do need to take a taxi from the main street. Taxis are expensive in this area. It costed us $140 NOK (15 Euros) ONE WAY. There is no way you could walk to the hotel with luggage as the hotel is on a hill and when we were there it was raining. The hotel has a big parking lot (good thing if you are driving) and it has a decent breakfast as well. The rooms are spacious but the shower is really small. There is nothing much to see while you are there so I would only recommend this hotel for stopovers only or if you have a car. To get to the airport (Evenes) you take a taxi that will take you to the front of the Scandic Hotel or the Quality Hotel Grand Royal and then you wait for the Flybussen bus that will take you to Evenes Airport. It's about an hour trip. Make sure you book your trip from Evenes Airport and not Framnes. Framnes only caters to small airplanes.

    « Good value »

This is a good hotel if you are looking for a reasonable hotel in Narvik. It is a bit dated and have two different standards on the rooms according to booking.com. Free parking is a big plus for me. They also have a dinner buffet at a good price. It has free wi-fi, but it was useless in my room. I had to go to the reception to work. I don't know if some of the rooms are for smokers, but there is often a smell of tobacco smoke in the corridor.

    « Good for a stopover »

We spent one night here on our way to the Lofoten islands. The hotel is a bit dated and out of town but was fine for our needs. The room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable although the pillows were too soft for my liking. The hotel put on a very good breakfast with plenty of fresh food. They also do a set dinner which we didn't have as it was not suitable for vegetarians. It was too far to walk into restaurants in town but only a 2 minute drive. The hotel was quiet and there was plenty of parking. Reception staff were very polite and helpful.

« Cheap hotel and good location »

This hotel have a good location near the Narvikfjellet. Little bit far from city center..about 15 minutes walk..Our room was clean..bed comfortable..staff was very kind and helpfull..last day we needed to check out early and receptionist made early breakfast for us which was really great...I recommend this hotel for everyone who looking for clean and cheap stay in Narvik

« Medium range hôtel but good value »

The hôtel is real medium range but Is well situated (just accross the narvikfjellet). The breakfast makes a good value of the place. We advice you a vert Nice sightseeing 3min by car at the artificial geyser (the geyser is activated at 21h at least)

    « Excellent breakfast! »

Stayed here for just one night on our way to the Lofoten. No complaints whatsoever, especially since our room had a stunning view of Narvikfjellet. Clean and comfortable with very friendly staff and a super breakfast.

    « Great overnight stopover »

I originally booked a room with Narvik Budget Rooms (they share reception with Best Western) but was upgraded to a Best Western room as they had no budget rooms left. No complaints here! Facilities were comfortable, and great for a night stopover. Breakfast was good, I enjoyed the waffles. But the lady on the front desk was a real pleasure to deal with!
