Best Western of Murphy

Best Western Murphy NC always has the most friendly staff here. They really are great with customer service and really make our stay every time here wonderful and easy! Clean & comfortable in a very nice area in Murphy. Barbara is the Best! Each time we are in this area, this Best Western is the only place and the 1st place we reserve. Been coming here for years and never any issues.

I stay at hotels multiple times a month and this was one of the better experiences. It could have been so much worse, as the company I booked through (not BW) had the dates wrong. But the ladies at the front desk found my actual reservation and honored it for the night. I have had this se ring happen before and the other hotel just gave me the ole.shoulser shrug.

Hotel clean and a good place to rest your head for the night. My big problem was that, I requested and early check in. But due to circumstances we arrive at 300 pm, which is standard check in time. Hotel staff member walked in and openly made comment's to front desk staff about the early check in person that did not arrive early. Not knowing I was that person. Do all staff members talk about guest like that in front of other guests?

The hotel is located in a good area, Walgreens, Walmart and Bojangles very close. The staff recommended great places to eat. The room were nice and clean. The bed slept good. For the hotel to be on a major road, it was quite.

The hotel room was clean, and the breakfast was good but needed more of a variety of choices. However, the mattresses are broken down and need to be replaced, so don't expect to get a good night's sleep.

We travel from Florida every year with our service dog, for our final destination, a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. After a long day, we are greeted with warm kindness and feel at home with Best Western Murphy. Excellent service, always provide requests and exceed expectations!

I have stayed at this hotel many times. The rooms are always extremely clean. The beds are comfortable. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is always consistently plentiful and hot. I will be staying there again when in the area

The hotel was close to the highway but set back, thus no read noise. the parking lot had good parking slots. Rooms were nice. lighting was very good. the employee at the desk was very helpful. room was very clean. trees provided some shade. lots of grass area for our dog to walk on. channel selection on tv was very good.

Great place to stay overnight while traveling through the area. Rooms were perfectly accommodating. No need to spend more money on the fancier hotels in the area and have tons of other people making noise. I prefer this place because they are so nice.

We chose to travel the extra miles to stay at Murphy Best Western since we had stayed there before. Room was clean and updated. We accidentally left an expensive item and they immediately reached out to let us know. Honesty goes a long way with me. We will be staying at this Best Western again.

The motel was clean with a good breakfast and friendly hosts. The rooms were a little dated and needed some usb ports, but they were very clean and well kept. All the mechanical ( water, air conditioner, refrigerator) work as they should. It was a very comfortable stay.

Pitch a tent. It will be cleaner. Pro: tv works, plenty of hot water, a/c works, good reading lights. Con: sticky, dusty, grubby - but how can you keep clean old fixtures, worn out furniture, and rooms that haven't been updated for at least 25 years (my guess)? Soft beds, weak toilet, and the room rate for this discomfort is absurd.

The staff working here were the best. The price was way too expensive but these folks were very curtious and helpful. Rooms were old but very clean. Courtney (hope that was her name) working the midnight shift was outstanding!!!

A repeat guest on a one-night stay. This is the best value in Murphy. Outdoor swimming pool and a very hearty complimentary breakfast. Some rooms are pet-friendly and some smoking or non-smoking (see property web site).

Been here many times over the years, one of the oldest in town. Rooms could use a little updating, although they were very clean, there was some small issues with the two that we had and the staff that was on duty did their best to help us but, some of the staff seemed lost, unable to make certain changes, or have answers. but they were very friendly. Courtney ( night shift) was amazing, extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Rooms are a good size, beds comfortable, place is quiet, and in a good location. Will be going back.

The Best Western in Murphy has designated pet rooms on the ground floor so you can easily take your dog for a walk on the large grassed area. The staff were courteous and very helpful. Breakfast is provided as part of your stay. True Southern Hospitality.

The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and they do clean your room each day and supply you with fresh towels, which a lot of hotels won't do now. I commend them for continuing this service. They allow pets, for a small fee, which makes it easy for me to bring them with me as I do shows in many states. The breakfast was ok but I understand since covid, this is one thing that has unfortunately changed, and not for the better of the guests. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in this area. I have another show in the area this year and I have already made my reservations to stay at this hotel.

This was our 2nd visit to this Best Western. Did not disappoint, same quality as last year. Good room size, quiet and comfortable bed. Excellent location for shopping, food and fuel. Will happily return to this location.

Staff was friendly, and that is the only thing I have to say that is good. I spent five nights at this motel last week on a business trip. I arrived on a Sunday night and left on Friday morning. Check in was in person and not to difficult they gave me Room 122 on the ground floor, this is an older motel type property with all rooms opening to a parking lot and is a two story structure. The ice and vending is on the second floor at the office end of the building using stairs for access. The room was dark, dank/wet feeling upon entry and had an strong odor with the window mount air conditioner off. The air conditioner was a push button type that did not remove any moisture and was extremely loud. The carpet was a low pile indoor outdoor type laid over concrete, it was worn and extremely dirty, to the point it discolored your socks while walking on it, and left dirt on your feet as you got into bed. The carpet between the bath wall and the bed in a 2 x 4 foot area was wet and I found a wet vac attachment under the edge of the bed in that area. I thought they had been cleaning it so I dismissed the wetness thinking it would dry out. I spent Sunday night in the bed with a mattress that had a broken down part that left a dent the size of your body in it when you clawed your way up. The furniture in the room was stained and sticky to the touch. After my business was concluded on Monday I took a shower which made the wet area expand on the floor. I would think that the black mold in that room was extremely unhealthy and I woke Tuesday morning coughing which I never do. On that morning I made the staff aware and they said "oh, we thought that was fixed" and gave me a second room (number 110) again on the ground floor. While this room was slightly better it still had strong odor, dirty worn carpet and noisy air conditioner. Breakfast consisted of some fruit and heat and eat type packaged items. This is working mans hotel geared at truckers and construction workers but at $125.00 dollars a night I would have expected slightly more. I will not stay here again and will not recommend this place to anyone.

Put in a smoking room. No reasonable options to move even though hotel was far below capacity. Upcharged for dogs not advertised at booking. Employees were not empowered to assisit with our problems. No other pet friendly options in Murphy and they know it.

Poor customer service on the check-in, MOIST room conditions that no amount of air conditioning would help. Dirty room, and not hot breakfast food cooked poorly. There really wasn't anything good about this hotel stay.

Very nice accommodations in an old-style motel with doors to the outside! Biker friendly with towels for cleaning your motorcycle. Clean rooms, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Been there many times & hope to be there many more on motorcycle trips to the mountains.

Enjoyed our stay, very motorcycle friendly! Many food places near by. Staff super helpful. Enjoyed our stay. Look forward to the return of hot breakfast, especially when your on the go. There are plenty of places near by in a pinch.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Pets were accommodated and room still clean and fresh smelling. Convenient location to blue ridge railway and harrah's casino. restaurants were also close. With COVID they still provided a bag breakfast.

My Husband and I stayed here for the first time last night. We chose this hotel because of all the great reviews and it is Pet Friendly! Check in was easy. Our room was very comfortable. The beds and pillows are so comfortable and soft. The shower has great water pressure! I didn't want to get out, plenty of hot water. The towels are nice and rough just the way my Husband and I like them. It may be weird to some but we love them . The room has a coffee maker with all the fixings. Ironing board/Iron. Microwave and refrigerator. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, we slept great! The price is fair since we did have our fur baby with us, the room even has a dog bowl which we think is so nice! Only thing we found was that there was long strands of hair in the shower still when we arrived and dry shampoo/conditioner on the shower walls and soap scum. The shower needs a really good scrubbing. We will definitely return to this hotel!

I was checked in quickly; my room was clean and very spacious. The king bed was wonderfully comfortable and the other furniture basic but ample. Property is located on Andrews Road close to supermarket, restaurants, major artery, but quiet enough to give me a great night's sleep.

Motel was outstanding. Front Desk Staff - outstanding. Room was outstanding. Bed was outstanding. Room extremely clean. WiFi was outstanding. I don't give out many outstanding ratings, but this Motel well deserves it. Was a pleasure staying here, plus, they are pet friendly. Highly recommend this motel.

- I walked on the carpet with my white socks on and my socks stayed clean. - Upon entering the rooms smelled like disinfectant which quickly vent away. - Breakfast was a grab and go bag from the lobby. An apple, oj, and a multigrain poptart. There are plenty of fast food places within walking distance. - Cable. Lots of channels were analog and some digital. I'm still not sure if I did something wrong. - Bathroom. The tub floor is slippery, but they provide a rubber mat- Use it! Instant hot water. - AC. The a/c is turn knob window unit not digital and it's hard to guess the temperature. I never sleep well unless it's digital. - Don't set the fridge in the coldest setting or it will freeze everything. - No elevators on property. Two stories. - Perhaps about a 10 minute drive (max) to casino. - A bit noisy since it's next to a highway, but ac noise and tv on low did the trick. - Don't walk on the grass. This is a pet friendly hotel and not everyone is "good". - I love how maids do not clean rooms during visit. Safe. - Upon check in I think they checked my temperature. I was tired and can't remember. - The room had mic, coffee, hair dryer, larger fridge. - Bed felt new. Nice with some pillow top give. Not "day's inn" nasty hard. - Take a baggie to put the remote control in. A quart size or bigger. I would stay there again! I love a bargain and the room was priced right. All I really care about is cleanliness.

My Mother and I stayed here for a couple of nights last week on a small vacation. We really enjoyed it! The beds were comfortable, the TV channel selection was great, and there's a Wal-Mart that would be within walking distance it if WASN'T on the other side of the main highway. Hey, if you want a good market within walking distance, do check out the United Grocery Outlet a short walk away for a good time. The hotel itself was nice, and there's even a nice pool my Mother and I used!

We stayed at this Best Western last year and were not pleased at all with our stay. I should have already written this review before now but I was just now looking at their website and remembered I never wrote my review. First of all when we got there the girl at the desk was on her cell phone and seemed to have an attitude. We told her we had reservations. She checked us in with an attitude. Put us in a smoking room when we had requested non smoking. Called her at the front desk to let her know and she informed me that I needed to call and get it changed myself, which I did. Went back to the desk to let her know I got it changed. She still had a terrible attitude but we finally got in our room. When we checked out the next morning I informed the lady at front desk about her terrible attitude and apparently I wasn't the only one who complained about her. Most Best Westerns I have stayed at were nicer than this one. We will never stay here again.

My best friend and me went to enjoy our break and go to the casino there.We just want to enjoy our break and our gateway.We just wanted to relax and have fun.No problems or be bother with.We want to see different places.

This Best western always makes us welcome with our dogs! They go above and beyond with their caring and ease. The rooms are comfy and clean and close Casino and fishing which we do when Visiting Murphy. This is what good customer service is all about. Barbara and Arelia are the best!

Rude and unhelpful desk staff. Rooms were never made up. Rooms were dirty and food was horrible. The staff showed our reservations a day off and would not honor the quoted price which cost us an additional $70! Our beds were never made up and new toiletries only left once for 4 people staying in one room! I cleaned the room myself and the light switches and blow dryer were filthy. The room was dusty. Customer service was mind blowing awful. The food was terrible...cereal stale, eggs runny, all bread dry and the milk was sour which resulted in my kid getting sick after drinking it. We will never stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. We have made 3 or 4 trips to Murphy and have stayed at this motel each time. It is conveniently located to all stores, food and casino. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean.

Excellent value for the money. Quiet. No troubles. Enjoyed every stay! The rooms are spacious and relatively new. And now i'm trying to use up space to get to 200 characters minimum. The towels are white and fridge works fine.

staff was wonderful, made us feel like we were home. stayed here instead of blairsville , because they accepted my cats. the staff was very helpful in every way possible since we had a problem moving to the area. Best western made sure they were there to help

Great ,clean friendly place to stay close to everything ,food ,shopping casino. There pool there is great,breakfast is ok too.quite ,caring staff,and pet friendly, food and shopping was at our fingertips.

Staff are all friendly and helpful, great breakfast for "continental" style. Rooms are clean and spacious. TV stations are a little less plentiful than we are used to, but after all this isn't "home."

We had a poor experience at this hotel. Probably the worst we have ever had at a Best Western (we are Platinum rewards members). We had booked for two nights, but needed to check out after the first night's stay. We requested a late checkout (with fee) for the first night, but our request was rejected. We were informed that we had to pay the FULL two-nights fee, regardless. This was even though the hotel was fully booked for the second night. We were "lectured" on the hotel's rules and informed that they would not make an attempt to "re-rent" the room for us. As senior citizens, we were "taken-back" by both the lecture and their inflexibility. We would have paid for the second night if they could not re-rent it, but this was clearly not an option they would consider.. We were given no choice, so therefore we checked out after one night and were charged for both nights (including all fees). We have to wonder, but will never know, if they re-rented the room for the second night..

Took over 25 mins to get checked in, was late for event because we were not allowed to check in before 3pm, even thought I did request an early check in when I made the reservation. Ironing board was broken, a new was delivered (another delay in my schedule). Comforter has a burn hole in it, was suppose to be a non smoking room. TV and channel selection was very disappointing. Check out was outstanding and was very apologetic about my issues with stay.

We had a very good overall experience with our stay. We were well satisfied and would be happy to stay here again. Our stay was very brief but the hotel seems to be well suited for a longer stay if desired.

My entire stay was really great, breakfast was good so many options for a continental i was pleasantly surprised! Merissa was excellent at check in ! very polite and welcoming. good job to all staff for exceeding my expectations

The young lady with long dark hair was not very friendly or helpful! I walked in approximately 2:50 to ask if any rooms available, one lady was busy taking a reservation on the phone, so I understand her not greeting me. But the young lady with the long dark hair didn't greet me or ask if she could help! I stood there till approximately 3:10 until the other one got finished with call, she ask me if she could help me. She said there was rooms, but than and only than the dark haired girl spoke and said did you do your report, and I'll check them in. (She wasn't even friendly during the process of checking me in). I noticed the time and figured out it was shift change! But really dark hair young lady could of at least greeted me and needs to be re trained on customer service!

Staff was very friendly helpful. Clean rooms nice place to stay!! I would not hesitate to stay here again. The staff made you feel like you at home.If you had a need they did all they could to meet that need.

This is an older hotel in Murphy that needs some upgrades. They are over priced for what you find for room comfort and cleanliness. Hard, very hard mattresses, air conditioning problems, my son's room flooded up to the bed.

We needed a place to stay unexpectedly and the BW had a room at a decent price. They have a pool and breakfast which was criteria for our kids. The front desk ladies were very friendly and we were able to get a room quickly. Our room was clean and comfortable. Murphy is a quaint town just outside of the Nantahala National forest. The hotel was convenient to stores and restaurants.

We thought to try a new little town, and we certainly found it in Murphy. Friendly people, shopping and a great stay at the Best Western there. We travel with our dogs and the hotel was super accommodating to us with our pets. They even had a dog bowl ready for us. Dog walk area that was very convenient to take the pups out. Safe area and the staff were super sweet.

Got a good deal on a room, decided to come up for the casino. Check in was super easy and quick, girl was great at check in and very polite, I didnt eat breakfast here so I can rate that. Housekeepers make sure to keep rooms spotless. Good job to staff and management.

The staff are very helpful and see that your needs are met. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is always a good selection and stays hot. Barbara knows how to treat the guest and goes way beyond to see that your stay is a wonderful. I recommend this hotel. Our stays have always been what we expected.

Pros: Familiar motor inn convenience of parking in front or close to one's room. Safe, well-lit location. Strong WiFi. Clean, newer linens. Spotless bath and room. Decent TV and channel selection. Centrally located to all Murphy has to offer. Cons: There's nothing spectacular about the motel. It is exactly what it should be for $125 a night and a 4 spot rating. I will choose it again the next time that I'm in town.

Very close to the River Valley casino. A very clean and comfortable motel for a short trip or even an extendet stay. Very nice folks running the place, they almost make you feel like family. The location could not be any better if you go to the casino. Bojangles right across the street (very clean and nice people) a Walmart and a Walgreens right across the street. It only takes about 5 minutes to the casino.

Was looking for convenience and low price and breakfast included. Also had to be pet friendly for our needs. Or covered all of that. But our mattress was flat on 1 side of the bed so we stuffed a pillow under the sheet for 3 nites. And the free/ included breakfast was pretty skimpy and same thing each day. (after trying the boxed egg omelet and room temp sausage) we had some cereal, milk, and juice each day ...

We have stayed here 2 times this year and always good. Clean, convenient to the casino, and fairly priced. No problems...friendly staff, continental breakfast, which worked well for us. Trip advisor needs 200 words A++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Stayed a weeknight on business. What we liked: 1. John at front desk was utterly professional. Friendly, helpful, courteous. What a terrific rep he is for Best Western. The lady who greeted us in the morning was equally professional. I'm sorry I didn't get her name. 2. Immaculate accommodations. No wonder this hotel has a 100% rating for cleanliness from the county. 3. Complimentary coffee all day. 4. Spacious room. 5. Quiet at night. 6. Affordable. 7. We really liked being able to park right outside our room. It made offloading luggage a breeze. What we didn't like: 1. Nothing. Would we return? Absolutely

Best staff! Clean and efficient. Good value. Older facility but clean and in good repair. Great breakfast. Easy in and easy out. Close options to eat, within walking distance. I stay here every time I am in town, which is once a quarter.

We loved staying at the Best Western in Murphy, NC. The place is very clean and comfortable. It is in a good location and met all of our needs. I would definitely stay there again to my next visit to this area.

Overall this was a good experience. We decided to stop at the casino on our way home. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. There was an excellent restaurant within walking distance to the hotel. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, beautiful scenic view. Close to shopping and restaurants. Would recommend staying at this place. Would definitely stay here again. Only downside we had was the loud motorcycle noise

When I arrived here with my wife I was very satisfied with the accommedations provided and the fact that they had smoking rooms and accepts pets. It was the most enjoyable night ever at a resonable price.

Nice stay i stayed at Best western for the convenience of being close to harrahs the room was nice and clean . The motel is older but a good value .The Staff was nice and was able to get a first floor room . Would recommend anytime.

We were on the bottom floor, on the back side of the motel...which was perfect for us! We were traveling with two small dogs and was not sure what to expect. Everyone was friendly, helpful, offered suggestions on places to go where pets are welcomed. The doggie area was pretty large, well maintained grassy area, with free 'poo' bags. We will take our fur babies back there!

Way up, in Murphy, the air is fresh and clean, this Best Western, is thebest value,. Nice room, nice breakfast, attentive staff. Great for Folk School people, or Game of Chancers alike. I have stayed twice, in order to go see the Kelischek Renaissance Wind Instrument Store.

All of their employees will do everything they can to make sure your trip is enjoyable. The rooms have always been cleaned thoroughly and very quite. They also offer rooms for pets fora little upcharge. Close to Harrah's casino

We arrived during a rain storm and were greeted by one of the reception staff with dry towels in hand. We experienced such a warm welcome, got our rooms and the hotel put our wet clothes in their dryer for us. My husband and I love to stay in this location any time that we visit the smokies. It is our 4th visit.

I attempted to check in at 2pm & was greeted with a very rude respponce first to stepping on her freshly moped floor. I had never seen or even heard about the check in policy, but when I did read it I did not see anything about being rude to a guest who was attempting to check in for a 3 night stay ( & a rewards member). The breakfast was very inadequate. WE only ate there the first am & had to go out the other 2. Air conditioner was barely adequate in cooling the room. Only good is a good shower. Construction on site.

As I write this I will try and keep in mind that this is a 3 start hotel or less. I read many reviews on this site about the staff and problems with them. The staff here were all super nice. This location has a little construction in the lobby so that they can improve the size of the area for the lobby and breakfast space which is very much needed. While I would not have used it anyway, I did not know there was an pool until I checked out and saw it in the middle of the parking lot. The hotel staff never mentioned use of a pool. In defense of the previous reviewer, I too entered this property backwards because it not clearly marked and I drove around the building twice because we actually did not see the office, maybe because of construction or maybe because I was tired. Our room was quiet, clean, and a very comfy bed which is more important to me than any of the other things. I do suggest that the hotel replace all towels. We had one that was good and the rest looked worn and dingy. As for breakfast, I missed it both days because I got a late start so I can't give a report about it. I do know that at 9:05 everything was locked up and both regular coffee pots were empty on both mornings I was there.

Rude lady on a power trip works up front. I had parked under the canopy as I do with all the hotels prior to check in. I got to this particular hotel earlier than usual because who knew a monsoon could be found in the westernmost part of North Carolina? So I waited under the canopy until 5, or at least I tried. Front desk lady comes tapping on the window. I rolled it down and she starts up with an attitude right out of the gate. If she had come up and asked me nicely to move, I'd have dealt with it, but after a long drive I don't particularly care to put up with people's crap. I told her I had a reservation and that I was about to check-in in 20 minutes and I'd be happy to move after I checked in. Mind you, there's plenty of room for people to pass by under the canopy. Additionally there were no visible signs indicating no parking, not that I had left the vehicle or that I intended on leaving it there over night. I tried to convey this all to her, but her response was if I didn't move, she would call the police. I never knew I was going to be so close to becoming a criminal when I woke up this morning. You know, the beauty of this great nation is you can run your business however you please. Just know, actions have consequences. If you disrespect your customers, they will not give you their time of day. Again, had she been even moderately polite, I'd have just rolled with the punches, but to just come up and be rude like that is entirely unacceptable. I ended up cancelling my reservation and paying an extra $30 to stay at the Hampton Inn. The front desk lady here is incredibly nice and even beat the rate I found online.

This is a great BW motel and absolutely spotless. The room was very clean and fresh and the bed was perfect. We were just passing through and stopped overnight but we will certainly return if we are in the area again. Close to a few restaurants and shopping if you need that.

The Rooms were really clean, staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast wasn't really good but that may have just been the day we were there. Location was good and centrally located. Check in and out was a breeze.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The motel met all our needs for the week that we were in Murphy attending the John C. Campbell Folk School. The area near the motel had most everything we would need if we didn't already have it with us. The actual drive to the Folk School was less than 15 minutes. The entire experience was wonderful.

We arrived early in the day for check in. The hotel management made special arrangements to provide us with an early room. Special kudos to the night desk clerk on March 18th, 2018 who provided me help with an electronic device that was not cooperating with the wifi connection. This was largely my error, but she provided friendly and profession assistance. Her proactive and friendly help is exactly the type of service that brings back satisfied customers. Rates were very friendly to the pocketbook without loss of quality. As a lifetime travel industry consumer, I can recommend this property. Noticed that the State health inspection for the breakfast area was a rarely seen 100%

We travel to Nantahala and Bryson City a lot. Before they built the new casino, there wasn't much here and the only reason we use to stop in Murphy on our way up was because it had the only Walmart around for miles. We decided to stay in Murphy this weekend and I'm so glad we did! We had a pet-stay room (only smoking room available) but you would have never know it was used for smokers OR pets! Our room (#125) was super clean and very fresh smelling. It wasn't masked with air freshener or any of that mess, just nice and clean! The bed really was comfortable. No spots or stains on the walls or floors... just clean! I feel like I can't say that enough. The bathroom had great water pressure and no visible water marks or mold. The staff members we interacted with were all super helpful and nice. If you're planning a casino trip, then I definitely suggest staying here. Walmart is just across the road. Harrah's Valley River is down the road about 5 minutes (if that). If you want to drive to Harrah's Cherokee, it's only about 45 minutes away. We'll be coming back to this Best Western, that I can promise you. Does it compare with staying at the casino itself? Of course not, but for what this hotel is, it's definitely worth a 5-star rating in my book. Also, it's not even been 24 hours since we checked out and they've already released the deposit hold on my card... that's unheard of these days. Definitely staying here again!! Now, my negative thoughts... We were charged an extra fee for the pet room, even though we had no pets. They called after we made the reservations to confirm we wanted a pet room and I explained we needed a smoking room and was told the only smoking rooms they had were pet rooms (maybe thats all that was left, I don't know) and there would be an extra $10 fee. Since I was using Reward Points for our stay, I chalked it up to "resort fees" you'd usually pay at some places. I'm not unhappy that I had to pay the fee, but I am irritated that is was forced upon me when we weren't travelling with our dogs. I think it would be better business practice to fill the room with any paying customer (even if it IS with Reward Points) rather than chance not filling the room for the night. Besides, if that particular room is already designated as a pet room, why isn't that reflected in the price for that room to begin with, especially if you're going to force the fee it on the guests anyhow? It either is or isn't a pet room all the time, so that price should be what is shown and not something extra. Maybe that's my bigger issue with this situation. I'll still visit this hotel again... but I'll still complain if they do this again.

We were pleasantly surprised to find our hotel rooms (we had adjoining rooms) clean, cozy and comfortable. Courtney at the front desk was very efficient and helpful. We didn't have breakfast so I can't rate that. It was one mile to the casino but a well referred Taxi driver took us there and back. The only issues we had were that the a/c unit rattled and so did the mini fridge.

I recently stayed at Best Western Murphy NC for 4 nights. On the 3rd night of my stay, I hardly slept due to the loud voices, arguing, and profanity of the guests in the room next to mine. When I reported this early the next morning, I was told I would not be charged for that night, and that the offending guests would be checking out that day. When I checked out after my 4th night and returned home, I reviewed my statement and discovered that I was indeed charged for that awful 3rd night. In an email survey sent to me by Best Western, I expressed my discontent at having been charged for that horrible 3rd night of my stay. A few hours later, I received another email message offering me a $20.00 credit; I ignored this insult. Another few hours later, the manager of Best Western Murphy sent me an email message stating that I should have reported the incident "immediately;" in other words, my reporting the incident at 7:00 a.m. the very next morning was not soon enough. I plan to visit Murphy in the future but I will NEVER stay at this hotel again because now I question both the clientele it serves AND the integrity of a staff that did not make good on its promise to me. The two circles I gave this hotel are for the excellence of the housekeeping staff; however, good housekeeping is not sufficient enough to compensate for potentially future undesirable neighbors nor a manager who apparently lacks the integrity to back up the employee who promised me I would not be charged for the awful sleepless night I had on my 3rd night at this hotel. There are several other hotels in Murphy, and my advise to future travelers to Murphy is to avoid the Best Western there.

We were very pleased with the cleanliness of our room and hotel. We will stay again when visiting this area. The staff was very pleasant from checking in to checking out. Also in a great location with access to fast food and restaurants.

Multiple problems with sanitary issues. Discovered toilet seat had brown splatter marks on underside and back seat. We left the room shortly after initial arrival and did not return until late that night, and that is when we noticed the problems. We had not used the bathroom so the issues were present upon our initial check-in. Again, we had not used the restroom or shower so these gross issues were NOT caused by us. The next morning we left the commode open so that housekeeping would see and clean. When we returned later that night, the bathroom had still NOT been cleaned.We made the management aware of the problems, they offered to move us to a different room because housekeeping had gone for the evening. I inspected the new room, only to find hairs in that tub as well. There were also hairs present in the tub of room 2. I pointed it out to the hotel clerk, who was also disgusted. She said the hotel was having problems with housekeeping. No excuses for uncleanliness. The night desk clerk ended up cleaning the bathroom. We checked out the following morning. The morning manager seemed annoyed when she asked how our stay was besides the bathroom cleanliness problems. We told her that the sanitary issues affected our experience. She said, "Oh well, what can you do? You know we are having some problems with the housekeeper". She said they also had to call the police on another guest. We were very polite but showed her the photos and told her that I might post an online review. She was obviously annoyed and curt. For the inconvenience, she discounted the bill $8 off the total ($200+) I called the Best Western Corporate Office in Phoenix, I spoke to a representative, she asked for my phone number and said she would call me back immediately. No one ever called. Very disappointed in the BW chain. Most staff were friendly. Sparse breakfast. Reasonable rate if the room was clean. Great location.

Check out is at 11AM I arrive to my room at 10:30 AM key is deactivated I ask the trashy looking house keepers why my key not working they instantly said they don't know turned and looked I seen the curtains open so clearly they had already entered my room before checkout, so I went to the front desk and seen my things sitting behind the counter I asked Aurelia Stone (general manager)why did they enter the room before it was check out time she said because no one answered the phone first off it's not 11 so I don't have to be out until but to enter take my things out and deactivate my key before time is totally disrespectful and she felt it was ok so they can get the house keeping done early.....BEWARE THE HOUSE KEEPERS LOOK DESPERATE FOR ANYTHING. Never again such poor service.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our room was spotless, quiet and comfortable. Very convenient to anything you would want to do in Murphy. Probably not even a mile from the casino if you're interested in that. Would definitely recommend.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and even though it was an older hotel, it was nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were awesome- would have liked to take them home with me!!!

Very clean and comfortable room. Mattress was good. Much cheaper than Hampton. Didn't eat breakfast here so can't comment on that. No elevator so if you can't do steps get a ground level too. Would definitely stay again!!

We travel for business and this is a regular stop for us. Clean and comfortable bed and room is what we look for at a good price. This property fits the bill plus a good breakfast to start the day. The only negatives I had were u comfortable pillows and no elite status recognition.

Took a chance on staying at the Best Western in Murphy. We were totally surprised. The room was clean and comfortable with a hot shower. Actually had a restful sleep. Although it is near a 4 lane highway, the room was very quiet. The staff provided friendly service. The only complaint was a very limited breakfast and tiny breakfast area. Just our luck, the pancake maker was broken. However, we sat with a good cup of coffee and read the local tourist magazines as the fog cleared and we could get back on the highway.

Great staff! They went out of their way to accommodate my group of motorcycles. Super friendly. They made sure we were on the ground floor close to the bikes. Bike wash and rags. Conveniently located. Easy in and out. We will be staying here again.

We stay here because the Casino does not allow pets. The est Western always welcomes us and our fur kids here in Murphy!!!! We sure appreciate that! It's close to home and the front desk folks are always friendly and welcoming, they even know us by name! Price was a bit high this time, but I understand it's peak season.... we like the rewards program, every bit helps!!!

We always stay at this hotel when we are in the area. The staff are always, helpful, friendly and thorough. We have never had any complaints. Not a luxury hotel and sometimes a bit pricey, but for us it is worth it. We stayed at a cheaper hotel once while we were in the area and was very disappointed. It is worth it to pay that extra little bit for what you get here. If we ever had a complaint it would be the breakfast. There isn't much to choose from.

I was truly impressed after my stay at the BW/Murphy, NC! Cleanliness of the room and bath were my utmost priority and I was delighted to find our room spotless. Beds were extremely comfortable and our room was supplied with everything a weary traveler may need and may have forgotten. Also pleased with the quietness even though we were beside the laundry room and on the 1st floor those factors did not cause any undue noise and we were able to rest comfortably and peacefully. I will definitely stay there again and recommend them to family or friends traveling in the area! Location was very convenient and the staff very friendly and eager to assist with any questions or suggestions on eating places or directions.

Best Western Murphy is in quiet area just off the east west road, but there are not road sounds. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and most helpful in any way they can be. There are three eating places within walking distance for the evening meal. WiFi is excellent and the breakfast is kept fresh as needed. The breakfast area could be a bit larger. Will stay at this hotel every time I am in the area.

This hotel is clean, staff very friendly and very accommodating. Quiet. Room was beyond clean. Highly recommended for a place to stay. Price is fair. Bed very comfortable. Rooms are big and spacious. We will definitely stay here again.

This property is exceptionally pet friendly. We think the biggest plus is the very large grassy area between the property and the highway... our 10 month old Black Lab thought running off leash under voice command was just fine, thank you very much. This is the first property to ask for detailed facts about Sugar, our Lab, and ask for our acknowledgment of the rules and limits of hotel patience and tolerance. Room was clean, neat, and tidy with good TV and wifi. Our pet friendly room came with dog dish and suggestion. Staff suggested the Murphy Chop House as a nice place to eat... nice turned out to be a significant understatement - prime rib was superb, she-crab chowder was superb, chocolate cake was decadent. We're willing to drive all day from Tampa for a great meal here.

Best Western in Murphy was very clean, comfortable beds, quiet area, plentiful breakfast foods, and friendly staff. Easy to access the major expressway, and has a good steakhouse within walking distance.We had a good stay.

Hotel is in a convenient location for traveling to various cities, National Parks and the Blue Ridge mountains. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Felt that the carpeting and furniture (not bed) in the room could use some updating and the pillows were a little uncomfortable. However, did not complain to management.

OK. This hotel is a good quality hotel. We were there during hurricane Irma so there wee dogs barking during the night. Also the rooms are located next to the main road so traffic noise was noticeable The office is located away from the main highway on the local road side. .

We stayed in this hotel when hurricane Irma caused us to reshuffle vacation plans to Charleston at the last minute. We arrived well before check-in time but they had a room ready for us. The rooms are very clean with relatively large fridge and microwave. We had a very comfortable two nights here while exploring Murphy. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.

Well maintained, very clean with friendly staff. Pool was fantastic! We had 3 rooms for our group, everyone was extremely happy with the cleanliness of them, and maybe half of our group used the pool, which we all agreed was in great shape, well maintained and clean. Highly recommend staying here.

I'm fairly picky about motels and particularly about cleanliness but this place was spotless. The beds could be softer but I always hate hotel beds because they are alway s too hard. The location is great, grounds are well kept and room immaculate. I like that you can drive up to the door. My husband smokes and likes that he can walk right outside and not have to go down three halls and two flights of stairs to get to smoke. We didn't try the breakfast because it was early for us 6-9 so I can't speak to it but it is just down the road from the Casino, albeit a bit more expensive but I figured if I stayed at casino I'd spend way too much there. Close to restaurants and Walmart is across the street so you can find what you need. Check in clerk was very friendly as well.

This is out place whenever we go to Murphy for a quick Casino trip. The employees are just so friendly and know us as soon as we walk thru the door. Could not find a nicer group of people. It is very convenient to the Casino, eateries, Drug store and a Walmart right across the highway.

Arrived before our 3pm check in and they were fine with checking us in earlier. The front desk staff was efficient and friendly. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, TV and wi-if worked perfectly. The hotel can use an overall facelift, however, it's still better than what's around the area.

Hotel was all right. A little tired, but clean and quiet. If you are in this area it is probably a step above most lodging facilities with the exception of the Hampton Inn, next door. The front desk did not recognize my Best Western Elite status which was disappointing.

We had just been to a funeral and had made a reservation here to stay and head home in the morning. When the front desk clerk found out we had been to a funeral, she changed our rate to the bereavement rate. We didn't even know they had one. My sister had forgotten a couple of things at home, and the nice lady supplied what she needed. All of the ladies working the front desk were super nice! The rooms were clean and housekeeping was super sweet in the morning. Thanks for a great night after such a taxing day.

We arrived in Murphy at 7pm and drove around looking at the town and spotted our Go To Hotel Best Western, at the office was Ms. Courtney a very nice young Lady who helped with check in. She looked up my account and all discounts to give the best rate possible, Through out our stay she was very helpful with directions and places to dine and points of interest. We were in town looking at properties to possibly purchase, We were shown several places by Rebeca Hall at Exit realty. Rebeca was very helpful and was refered by Julie Arader of Exit realty from Ashville NC whom we met several weeks ago on another trip we took and has stayed in contact with my wife. What I found on these 2 trips were people who were from our area in Tampa Fl. but have moved to the NC mountains, I am a man who still talks to people and does not live on a cell phone, so while out and about try doing something that God means for us to do and Talk to people and PUT down the phones. Both of these areas in NC are great and another is Dolahnage Ga. in which we stayed for 2 nights before returning to Tampa.

Wonderful place to stay especially if you are traveling with a pet. We travel a lot with our small dog and have never stayed anywhere that welcomed our pet so well. The fee was small, there was a special area with pet bags to walk them and a water bowl in the room! The room was very nice and the breakfast was wonderful. Highly recommend it!!

Everyone at the front desk was very nice. The rooms were clean and recently renovated. There is not much to do in Murphy but we stayed here as in the middle of the two rivers we were white water rafting in.

This is the Only place I stay when I am in the Murphy area. Rooms are always clean and the Staff is very Friendly. Great location and easy excess. The wife loves the area which is very peaceful. You will not be disappointed with this location

Murphy NC was where I spent the majority of time on my 9 day motorcycle trip from MA to NC, to Buffalo NY and back to MA. This hotel was conveniently located to several great motorcycle rides. A little less than an hour from Tail of the Dragon and maybe 15 minutes to get into to TN. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. One was able to recommend a loop to take after Tail of the Dragon to get back to the hotel which included the Cherohala Skyway, which was one of the best rides I took (I actually did it twice). The hotel is in a convenient location with a Super Walmart across the street and within a couple miles of various restaurants. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. For some reason, many of the photos that appear on this Tripadvisor page do not appear to be of the this actual hotel. For example, the pool is in the middle of the parking lot, not off the back of the hotel as depicted.

We stayed at this property 3 nights. Room was quiet & adequately equipped. Refrigerator was cold- did not use the microwave. Coffee available in the room, but we chose to get it in the office. Breakfast was adequate. Pancakes were unique& tasty. Breakfast area a little small, but was OK & guests did some mingling which was nice. Staff very pleasant. Easy acess in Murphy

This hotel is an easy in/easy out clean and comfortable stay. I found the price higher than a similar BW in Asheville, NC which was surprising. I would stay again. The breakfast was okay, and the coffee was good. Overall, not bad. Murphy is a cool little town.

The room are clean, the beds are comfortable. It is quiet and feels homey because of the kind staff. I did not go swimming although there is a pool for those who want to swim. I liked the choices on the Continental breakfast. Hearty for the meat eaters and lighter choices for people who prefer something other than eggs and sausage for breakfast. They even had a pancake machine that all you had to do to use it was push a button. I've never seen anything like it, no work at all for the guests. The staff were so friendly. If I could offer any suggestions on improvement it would be to figure out some way to block the glaring sun in the morning in the breakfast area. There really is only 1 place to sit to eat in the breakfast area to get out of the sun and add at least 1 outside trash can on the second floor. There is also a lovely mt view from the second floor.

Lack of care and cleanliness Checked in at 6am - we drove though the night - lobby was locked had to know on door attendant apologized starting she was warming breakfast to a safe temp in the only provided microwave - once in room room service e knocked at 830 asking if we would like our room cleaned - yes you are correct I did not hang the sign on the door -- packed up and left less than 4 hours on property only to find out I was over charged -- called 1800 best western since that is who I actually booked my stay through with no result no customer care -- truly disappointed $116.00 for four hours and terrible care

Room was in excellent condition, Entire property was clean and in very good condition. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Management went above and beyond to assist us with a personal problem we had. (Not hotel related problem) Many thanks to the management for the assistance!!! Will definitely stay there on our next trip.

This hotel is operated by a wonderfully friendly and responsive staff, beginning at check-in through check-out. Being in the heart of motorcycle country it's wonderful to have a hotel that recognizes bikers love to be able to park in front of their rooms and provide cleaning rags and maps of the plethora of m/c rides throughout the region. The property is very clean, well maintained, and professionally operated. Not the fanciest property you'll find, but you're not paying inflated prices either. We'll take clean / maintained and updated properties any day for the right price point. Plenty of dining options though you may need to go into downtown (two - three miles) and fairly convenient to outdoor activities in the region. All the necessary amenities for travelers are available. Rooms are a bit small for three adults, but adequate. Quiet rooms and AC units. All in all we were very satisfied with our stay and would return.

My Wife and I booked the Best Western in Murphy NC for a weekend of motorcycle riding. The rooms were nice, clean, and quiet. We were presented towels to dry the seat of my motorcycle in case of rain, and a very nice map with a ton of great motorcycle roads to try. The BW in Murphy is close to several nice restaurants (2.5 miles) from the motel. Such as Parson's Pub, Chop House etc. The breakfast area is very small and could use more items. They do have a pancake machine that was pretty good. I say machine because all you do is place a plate at the end of the machine and press ok. In about 2 minutes two pancakes come out on your plate. Besides pancakes, they had cereals, and a few other items. If you don't see anything you like for breakfast there's a Bo-Jangles where you turn into the hotel (on the other side of the street). Right into the Bo-Jangles parking lot, or left into BW parking lot. So no big deal. Coffee, and juice was really good. Very friendly staff also. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

BW was very easy to find and was close to a small strip mall and across from WalMart. Very quiet morning and evening. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Discounts for John C Campbell Folk School students if booked directly with them.

This motel was recently updated and it shows. The rooms are large and nicely appointed. There was a broad bathroom counter and it was well lit for makeup - shaving. There was a floor lamp by the loveseat for reading. The toliet and bathroom/shower were in a separate room. New toliet. Lots of space to set bags and other items. The breakfast area and reception room had been remodeled. Very nicely done. There were tables and chairs outside under a covered walkway. Nice selection of breakfast items. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Place was very clean.

Nice clean rooms and comfortable beds. Refrigerator and microwave in room. Rooms were spacious. The hotel is very close to Harrahs Casino. Only a few mins away. The hotel staff was great. We were very pleased with the price of the rooms. We will definitely stay here again!

Even though the hotel seems to be on the older side, it was very nice. The room was great! Everything worked like it was supposed to (i.e. shower, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, tv, internet). Plus, the beds and pillows were very comfy.

Wish they could provide a shuttle to the casino instead of having to take a taxi that cost $40 for a 4 mile round trip ride. Overall, good location, pleasant staff and pet friendly. Breakfast has the usual options, but is nice along with a free newspaper. Nice area to walk your pet and is close to the casino.

Good location to casino and restaurants; also I was pleasantly surprised that the pet room did NOT smell like animals had been in it previously! Kyle, the person on duty when I checked in was very friendly and helpful. The location was easy to find, the room was very clean and orderly. Both my dog and I will stay here on our next visit to the Cherokee Valley area.

Great hotel staff. The place is immaculate. Rooms are a great size and well appointed. TV is nice but wi-if is a bit slow. If breakfast passes muster then is will be a go-to place for future visits to western North Carolina.

haven't stayed at a best western in a long time because of customer service, pick this because it was close to the casino, looking for a night to relax and get away. I had a wonderful time at this hotel, the customer service was EXCELLENT!!!! next time you are in murphy, please stay here.

My Wife, Myself and our Lab stayed at the Best Western Hotel in Murphy NC over the weekend . The hotel was full with fire fighters that weekend because of the of the wild fires in the area. The room we had was for pets and had a water bowl and pet dish. The room was nice and quiet and the maid service was excellent. We had a breakfast in the morning that was very nice.

Had a great trip to the mountains.The leaves were falling from the trees, but still had some color to them. I Best Western motel we stayed in, in Murphy, N.C. was very nice. If you go to Murphy I recommend this motel. It is very clean and the staff is very nice and helpful.

I stayed here for one night while visiting my daughter's family. They have purchased a log cabin in Murphy and just love the area. Since they had just closed on the house and furniture not arrived yet I stayed at this hotel. Staff is very friendly and my room was very clean and appeared to be recently upgraded. They serve a continental breakfast with some pancakes also--every item was fresh and the attendant very accommodating. My only wish would have been a booster chair or highchair for my granddaughter to eat breakfast and my suggestion to get one was really listened to I believe so maybe it will be there next time. I plan to stay here next time that I visit if not enough room at my daughter's cabin when I bring other relatives with me to visit the area. There is a Walmart across the street and a Bojangles restaurant in walking distance if you need anything. Enjoyed my stay??

Staff was extremely helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Amenities were pretty much standard. If we were to travel back to Murphy we would definitely stay there again. I believe there was also a pool there, but it was closed during our stay.

The staff was great and very help for we were evacuated for hurricane Mathew from South Carolina. The staff was very help and understanding and even were pet friendly. I can't say enough about this hotel. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and Clean! Yes I would tell anyone to stay here and would stay again and again.

Was a clean and comfortable hotel. They provide a cloth to wipe down the motorcycle, and have a bike wash station on premises. The hotel was quiet, and even though we were on the ground floor, we heard nothing from other guests or traffic while we were there. Highly recommend.

We were traveling on a 15 day, 3100 mile driving trip having stayed at 7 different hotels. The Murphy Best Western was the cleanest and friendliest among those. The lobby doubles as a breakfast area with cereal, pancakes, pastries are available. Very nice hotel staff. The hotel accepts dogs at $15 charge.

Spent several days here while looking at property in the Murphy area. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and staff was very helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast was adequate and wifi worked flawlessly. I'll be back for a couple days in November and will be staying here again.

Taking an extended motorcycle trip, I was pleasantly surprised to come across this property. It is conveniently located just off the highway, but does not experience undue highway noise. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, the room clean, the hot water abundant (be careful!) and the bath drains work freely...no standing in the shower with water up to your ankles as the drain struggles to keep up with the water flow!! While the breakfast area is limited, the breakfast offerings are well laid out so as to maximize space. A nice touch is that if you miss breakfast, some items are still available for purchase at a nominal price. I think this is an idea that other properties might consider implementing. All in all, this property offers nice value for your traveling dollar.

I have stayed at this Best Western on three different occasions. My son and I are currently involved in a child custody case. The staff is very professional yet remembers and cares about us. They and the children are the only enjoyable parts of the trip.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was very spacious and seems to have been recently renovated. It was convenient to get to. The employees were friendly and accommodating. We requested a quiet room and were put in a room that was absolutely quiet.

This hotel was very clean, easy to get in and out of and the location is great being 2 miles from the casino, across the hwy from Walmart and only a few miles from down town Murphy. Next door is a Burger King and on the other side of that is a Big Lots other stores and a nice restaurant, Brothers. Across the street is a Bojangles. Dollar General just down the street. Bed was a little firm for me; however my husband and son like them. Ice machine on our side of the hotel was on the second floor towards the front. AC was running for us at check in so the room was already cool. That is always nice.

Had a very good stay at this hotel, the outside could use some updating but the rooms are very clean. Check in was very easy and staff were very friendly. Only stayed the 1 night on this trip but will stay there again for future visits.

We stayed at the Best Western of Murphy for one night at the start of our road trip in May this year. We had flown into Atlanta and driven the 120 miles after our arrival. We just wanted somewhere to stay overnight before continuing our drive to the Great Smoky Mountains. The motel was perfect for our needs. Big Room, Comfortable Bed, Easy Parking, Good Breakfast and lovely, helpful and friendly staff. There is a Walmart just across the street, although I would advise driving as the street did not look the easiest to cross. We stocked up on supplies for our trip. Although very close to the road, we were not troubled by any traffic noise. I would recommend this motel for anyone travelling in the area. Great value!

Kim at the front desk was Great Very nice! I booked this on line I was not happy to find out it would have been $30 dollars cheaper if I would have just called the motel direct . Also booking online you are unable to cancel without losing you money for the room.

Location is perfect for our needs. Close to shopping, good restaurants, fast food places and entertainment. Easy access from several directions. Not far from some great mountain scenery and attractions.

This is one of the poorest Best Westerns we have stayed at over the years. Room was smelly (tobacco), floor tread and bottom of door allowed outside light in and probably some small creep crawlers. A/C unit roared, very noisy, kicking on and off all night. it is our experience that this is not a typical Best Western Hotel.

Arrived approximately 11:30Am on the day of stay. Room was not ready and was told that I could check in any time in the afternoon. After visiting the Casino, we returned back to motel to check in approximately 5:30pm. I had requested a room on 1st floor when I made the reservations. They advised that there were no rooms available on 1st floor. Sorry but none are available. We cancelled the room and left and drove back to Georgia. This hotel was nice. The internet was very slow and couldn't stay on line. The shower head wasn't on Only had one towel and 1 cup for coffee. Left a note for more towels and cups and they did. Close to work I work and the Casino too. Beautiful place with a big gazbo and picnic area.

Me and the Wife often visit the Casino in the area and find this location very convenient. The hotel is nice and clean and the staff are very friendly. I always stay here when I'm in the area. Great location to the Casino.

This hotel is very clean and the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. There was a problem with late checkout, it wasn't noted, but they remedied the situation in an excellent manner. We did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment on it, but the internet worked well and the room was clean and comfortable. Love that there is a fridge and microwave in the room.

Great place for stay with pets. Room did not smell like the last pet. Very clean and updated. Only snag was not being able to check in an hour early but when we did check in, it was smooth. Breakfast was good. I really like the pancake maker. Quiet with only occasional road noise.

I was under the impression to use the rewards card I was issued it would save me or at least reward me for using the hotel website directly to make reservations. It ended up costing me more money! I was charged $19.99 to use the hotel site directly. A whole separate charge completely from the room plus tax. It is cheaper to use Booking.com which I always have use in the past. I did not complain, but being I was asked more than once to give a review so I want to say this. Be aware. Do not use the hotel website to make reservations if you think you will save money like I did. I will use this hotel again. I like it, they know me because I stay there quite often and will again. That is my only complaint.

I have not been to a Best Western in years. This was a very pleasant surprise. The place is very well maintained and the staff very attentive. The mattress was awesome...I wanted to take it home with me! Breakfast was adequate for us. It's not a huge spread but we don't eat a lot in the morning anyway. My only suggestion would be to put a few umbrellas around the pool area as there is no shade at all. All in all a very pleasant stay!

Great little BW. Stopped after long day on motorcycle and lots of rain. Late check in and the girl was great. She let us know it was her first night on duty alone and she was willing to find answers for our questions. She will be great once she is comfortable being on duty alone. Never got flustered and found the answers for us. Nice rooms for the price. Breakfast could of had a little more to offer. Room was quiet and got a good night's sleep. Would stay here again if we are in area.

Very nice accommodations close to the attractions we were interested in and close to various restaurants and fast food places. If you like Walmart, it's right across the street. The Casino is 5 minutes down the road.

Since we have stayed at Best Western before I decided to try this location. Room was very clean! We had two "queen" beds which were actually doubles...small for two adults, trim adults at that! Typical hotel room...not big but they did have a fairly large sized refrigerator, microwave and safe all in that room!

Just felt like gambling for a night so we stayed at the Best Western. We stayed there last month and loved t, so we made it our place to stay this month again. You will not be disappointed with your stay The only complain is the very small lobby and breakfast area.

This is a clean, pleasant hotel. Pet-friendly rooms are limited, so make sure you say you're bringing a pet if you make reservations. The staff was very helpful, especially when it came to suggesting a place for dinner and an area scenic drive.

Incredibly clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a very friendly staff. We travel with our Westie, and it was perfect for him too with a good walking area. Good complimentary breakfast. We will definitely stay there again when our travels bring us this way. Good choice.

Any question, any problem ALL members of the staff were there to make our stay pleasurable. We had a pet room, which was very clean and they dog walking area was very well kept and cleaning bags were provided. The most pleasurable were ALL of the staff on duty at all times.

This motel was so clean and well maintained. The Staff was super nice and very helpful in helping us to find a great place to eat while there. Rooms were spacious for three adults. Bathroom was very up to date. Will be staying there again on our next trip to Virginia.

The hotel is not new, but it was clean and is a well-maintained property. All the carpet, tile, fixtures and furniture appeared quite new. I slept through breakfast. The staff was very friendly and there was ample parking.

We have stayed here before. The staff is so nice, did have a problem with one of them but the manager is working with her. The only thing we suggest is ceiling fan. It is quieter than the ac. We ended staying there for 3 days.

We were delighted with the renovated Best Western. The staff was unusually cheerful and helpful. The room was surprisingly clean and decor pleasing. We remembered staying here years ago and quite honestly considered not trying it because it was so old. No sign of its age from the room at all. We will stay there again as we visit Murphy about once a year on business/pleasure.

The staff at Best Western are very friendly and nice, our room was clean and the beds sleep good. There is a wal-mart close by and restaurants we ate at Brothers and if you take your card you get 10% off the meal. We enjoyed our stay and if in town again would stay there again. The internet is good!

We had stayed at a Best Western over the years, but were kind of hesitant because of a location issue before. This time we picked this Best Western because of the location. It's very close to the Casino and the motel looked very clean and becoming from the outside. It turned out to be very clean and becoming from the inside as well. Wonderful place to stay and we'll be back.

We arrived about 8:30pm on a Friday and the check in process was quick and pleasant. We were in room 119 a ground floor room. The motel/hotel is old school with drive up and park at the room door access and is a two story building. The room was very clean including the carpet and the bath/sink area. We liked the in room micro/fridge and the fridge worked perfect. We always save our leftovers from meals for later so a fridge that actually works well is a pleasant surprise. The room had a large flat screen T.V. that worked and the ventilation was quiet. The breakfast area is small so get there early if you want a seat. The breakfast choices are limited but the woman working the area keeps a close eye on everything and keeps it restocked. I would stay again as it's a good price (89.00 AAA discount rate) and location in Murphy.

The hotel was very clean and the staff did a very good job of taking care of my needs. The food availability was close and okay. I wish the hotel had a guest laundry because I hate to fly back home with dirty clothes.

A friend & I stayed here for 5 nights on a recent road trip. Overall we were pleased & surprised at how nice the place was, especially for a motel in its price range. Our room was well designed, very clean, & comfortable. The lobby was also very efficiently designed to be a combination check in/out/ information desk, business center, breakfast center, & comfortable seating area with a pretty little solarium & free local newspapers... all in a relatively small space without making anything seem cramped. A complimentary breakfast was served every morning in the lobby. The room had a clean medium-sized refrigerator with a freezer & a clean microwave. The room temperature could be regulated to a wide enough range to make any guest comfortable-- an attribute I've unfortunately found lacking in many other motels. Housekeeping service was very good. The location was close to several good restaurants (as well as fast food). The staff was very friendly & helpful. If we had the chance to stay again, we'd request a ground floor room, as the second floor was a walk up with no elevator for luggage. But our one & only real complaint was the "bathroom tissue" (T.P.)!!! It was that cheap, one-ply stuff that morphs into a trillion shreds instantly upon contact with any moisture, & wants to leave more of itself behind than is removed. We would've gladly traded a few less bottles of shampoo, body lotion, or bars of soap for a little better quality product in this category.... This is NOT the place to save a few pennies!!!

We were tired, so we decided to stop in Murphy--around 9pm on a Sunday night. Courtney at the front desk checked us in and gave us a great recommendation AND directions to a terrific local restaurant that would still be serving dinner. The room was beautiful, sparkling clean and very comfortable. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to the mountains!

Great hotel. Good value and location with easy access to the Nantahala area and Blue Ridge. The hotel is clean, appears recently renovated and the staff is friendly. This is one of the best dog friendly options in the area.

We have stayed at this Best Western on all 3 of our last visits to Murphy. The great staff and service is why we keep coming back. The rooms are clean and neat our experiences have been very pleasant. Looks a little dated from outside but the room have modern conveniences, WIFI, flat screen TV refreshed bathrooms and dressing areas. This hotel is convenient to Murphy proper with restaurants in any direction and the casino is only a mile or so away. Scenic location with ample parking. No elevator so keep that in mind if you are mobility impaired. Good continental breakfast offering and coffee 24/7. Quiet location.

We were planning on a trip to Gatlinburg for the evening but got off to a late start so decided to go to the casino. There were no rooms at the casino so went across the street to the Hampton Inn and that was also booked. Went next door to the Best Western of Murphy and were very happy that we did. The price was good, service was excellent, and the newly remodeled room was very nice. Extremely clean room, very comfortable bed, microwave, mini fridge, internet worked great. Can't comment on the continental breakfast as we did not get up in time for it. Also nice that they have a 12:00 late checkout option. Will definitely stay here again.

For a small mountain hotel -- for any hotel with "Continental" breakfast! -- truly fresh fruit selection, pancakes with six toppings, nine bread/bagel/muffin choices with toppings from p-nut butter to cream cheese, wide variety of teas, cereals, fruit bars, PLUS micro breakfast entrees! The lounge space utilized wisely and comfortably with variety of seating areas. Recommend highly! Always will stay here! Only thing I would suggest/change: pillows are slightly overstuffed and not malleable.

We stayed here during my husband's birthday and he wanted to come up and see the new casino in Murphy. We chose the Best Western because it looked nice. Nice does not describe it - the rooms are clean and roomy. Everything was in order. The front desk ladies were super and the lady who cleaned the room was so sweet. It was a fantastic experience and I would encourage anyone to stay here

Second stay at this Best Western. Different staff than last time but still friendly and helpful.... knowledgeable of area. Clean and quiet room.... didn't do the breakfast since many alternatives available close by. I will stay here again when in the area. Some previous comments noted the age of the facility and maybe because I'm an old piece myself, the age is of less concern than friendly staff and clean room. The floors were clean as were the bed linens and bathroom walls. The white socks on my feet when the boots came off were still white when the boots went back on. Close to a busy 4 lane but there was no road noise in my room .

In the small town of Murphy, NC in the Smokey Mountains, We found our stay at the Best Western very enjoyable. Our hotel was very clean, the room spacious and updated. Enough cannot be said about the courtesy of the management and staff, very helpful. I will stay here again.

This is a old hotel that paint was put on to try to make new. The room smelled horrible and after complaining to front desk of the cigarette smoke, we were told it was a non-smoking room. Huh! The floors were dirty and the grout in the bathroom looked like it had a tinge of blood in it. Didn't even bother to take a shower due to mold on wall.

Used it on new years eve because of my hectic schedule at the casino. Very accommodating and friendly and helpful staff. Even though it was for one night I would gladly use them again in the future if I see it neccessary

We had a great stay. It was an impromptu trip and they had rooms. The room was clean, spacious, and welcoming. The front desk ladies were great, they were very welcoming and helpful. Check in was pleasant. No complaints. We got 2 rooms and they put us in adjoining rooms.

It was a nice enough hotel. The beds were comfy, I was pleasantly ssurprised. Seemed like very little TV channels. Room has a safe in it if you need it. Very close to Casino,I wouldn't suggest walking but you could I guess. Continental breakfast they do have one. Pancakes... Juice... Breads.. Cereal. I would stay here again if in the area.

I travel to Murphy on business fairly often and have never been disappointed in the Best Western. It isn't luxurious by any stretch of the imagination, but it's clean, convenient and the staff is wonderfully friendly and accommodating. I always try to stay there.

Small town, has everything you would need. The only disappointing thing was there was a parade the morning we checked out. Neither the check in or out staff mentioned it. It would have been fun going to a small town parade. The hotel is only 4 minutes from the casino. Our bed was nice, the pillows were comfortable. The shower head was good. Lots of hot water. Not a lot of tv channels. It has a refrigerator and a microwave. The breakfast had pancakes. Would stay there again.

Gave my reserved limited access non smoking room away and lied about it , saying I had no reservation until I showed the manager my comp number . She then said she gave my room away. She then tried to make us stay at Days Inn . This was six o'clock in the evening . Treated us very rude . Will not be back there ever . The room she gave us stunk like smokers smoke . I am a disable Marine Vet , and have to clime steps makes it very hard when you have artificial parts in your legs . This is not the great Quality of Best Western that I have always received when staying with Best Western . This Manager also said that was the manager of Days Inn a tried to make us stay at Days Inn . I told her that if I wanted to stay at Days Inn I would have reserved a room there . The manager was very rude and should learn how to talk to people .

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. It is clean, reasonably priced, close to the highway, but not noisy. Near some businesses I might want to shop at, or eat dinner at, before retiring. Staff is friendly and efficient.

We had just spent a night at a lovely, newer pet friendly LaQuinta in Macon Georgia, and the next night we were headed to Murphy, NC for 3 nights. The Best Western Murphy was one of two pet friendly choices in the area. Almost the same price per night as the LaQuinta, and a world of difference. The LaQuinta room for the same money was a 2 room King Suite, nearly new, and very very nice. The Best Western Murphy for the same money has very old decor, including the lobby/breakfast room/registration area. But, maybe this is typical of a small country town compared to a small city like Macon. The Best Western was pretty clean, and the service was very good, but I'd only stay there again because it's one of the only 2 pet friendly hotels in the area where my sister lives.

We were just staying over night. We will go back. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was excellent. They offer free breakfast with stay, it is continental, so be prepared. Great central location.

My stay was fair and pleasant soo close to everything. Around the corner from the casino.....the reason I stayed here will come again. Hope my review is very helpful to someone because a lot of times there is not enough for people to say to let you know the answer to some of your questions.

Staff was great,room was good a lot of highway noise.Breakfast bar left alot to wish for.Not much on cold cerial and bagels.Should have went to McDonalds. and really dont care for it but could have ate a hot breakfast.Wordt breakfast bar for a Best Western I have seen.Next vist to Murphy will be somewhere diff.If going to Murphy and you are supewr tired and dont eat breakfast then stay here.

The staff was wonderful at check in. The room was clean and had everything I needed. I rarely stay at hotels with outside walkways rather than interior corridors as a safety issue. However, I had a last minute business trip and had no choice. I was pleasantly surprised. The outside has an old school 1970's motel sorta of look but my room was updated, nicely furnished, and I felt quite safe.

I recently stayed at the Best Western due to its close proximity to the Casino. It was okay overall. The room was a little damp and musty smelling and the cable on the television had very limited channels, but the bathroom was very clean which was a plus. The staff was very nice and friendly. The breakfast choices were pretty much toast, pastries, yogurt, and flap jacks; however, there is a Bojangles across the street if you want to eat meat. Overall it's an okay hotel to spend a night but would not have wanted to stay multiple nights here.

Went to Murphy to visit the new Casino there. Stayed at the Best Western Murphy NC. The staff was very helpful. Told us great places to eat & see. The hotel was very clean. Had asked for a room on the first floor, due to the fax that I could not climb stairs, due to getting over surgery. I was told they couldnt promise me for sure. When I check in I told them that I had asked for a room on the first floor. SHe told me that I had a room on the first floor.

I have no complaints about this Best Western at all. The room was clean and the bed was nicely made (actually better than a Hilton I stayed in once). A hotel is only as good as its staff and you can tell this one has that! Their breakfast area was spotless and sunny! Would come here again!

This is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are very clean and the beds are always nice and comfy. It is also very close to many nice restaurants and you must go downtown if you have time. There is a great Irish Pub with great food and very relaxed atmosphere. The clerks are always so nice and helpful while checking in and out. They also give you cloths to clean your motorcycle in the mornings before you leave.

Facility needs updating. Other Best Western locations present better breakfast options. Had trouble with the toilet not flushing properly and the sink not draining quickly. No guest laundry on site. Staff was friendly and helpful which made the stay tolerable. Location to things to do and places to eat was very good.

A few red ants one day crawling on desk. Otherwise everything topnotch. Staff very helpful and friendly. Early check-in was no problem and express checkout great since I left at 5:30 AM for the long ride back to Florida.

Super clean, priced right and the staff is great! Right at the door of the Smokey Mountains. Recommended local dining spots and provided local directions and tourist information. Our entire group enjoys th hospitality of the staff.

Our group of 18 motorcycle riders were greeted by Barbara at the front desk. She had our reservations ready, and quickly got us all checked in. She had hot coffee ready for us at check-in. Our rooms were nice and clean, and we were able to gather together with our friends to socialize. This hotel is located close to the Georgia state line, which makes it a great place to stay.

The rooms was clean . The staff was real nice. Was a lot of eating place close by.Great place to stay.Wamarts is across the high.way.Uptown is about a 25mins.The fields of the woods is 1hr away, which is a pretty place to visit.

We stayed here on our winery trip. This hotel is newer, the bed is comfortable, the room was spacious and the area was safe. The check in clerk was very helpful in recommended Doyle's for dinner. It was great.
