« Lovely short stay at the Wanderlight »

This place is central to everything one needs. Walking distance to shops and eateries with a few great pubs in the mix. Hosts very friendly made you feel welcome and rooms quite spacious and clean. Breakfast served to the room in the deal was excellent. Wifi can be a bit hit and miss at times - but overall enjoyed this place and would stay again. Stayed on the top floor - so very quiet even on a Saturday night.

    « Three day visit »

Clean and spacious, very close to cafes, walking distance. Very accomodating, few things needed attention, but hosts were very happy to help and made our visit very comfortable. Nice breakfast last day, in our room.

    « Mudgee »

Very friendly and helpful hosts who listened to what was needed and fixed immediately. Rooms very large and clean serviced daily. Free parking right outside door. Close to town centre, walking distance to many cafes and restaurants. Opposite Police Station.

« It was quiet and close to town »

We stayed on the top floor for two nights it was comfortable. Rooms were bigger than a typical motel with amenities. We could walk to Town for meals and basic shopping. We went to the Jameson Park Hotel for dinner and it was great.

« Nothing flash but clean and tidy »

Close to the Court House to grab some dinner and a few drinks. Check in was smooth, rooms clean and tidy. Rooms are outdated but serviced well. Walls are very thin as I could hear someone snoring from the other room. Turned the tv on to block the noice and it was ok. Plenty of outside parking. Short walk to Mudgee CBE

    « Service lagging »

This visit I found the WiFi not functioning most of the time and had to chase them for breakfast. Given this is not a cheap place I expected better. I have been here four or five times. The reception guys are not very welcoming either.

« Ageing motel but good value »

Friendly staff, close to town and friendly staff make this a good choice at a budget price. It's getting a little old but current level of room price offset that and make it a good budget price. Right next door to a good pub too. Quiet location and would stay again

    « Dated but clean »

It's located next door to a pub which is nice and close. Short 10 minute walk to the main area of Mudgee. The rooms are clean but dated. It was a little noisy at night with people coming back to there rooms and some traffic. Receptionist let us check on earlier which was lovely. Late check out of 11am which is good.

« Adequate but could do better »

This three star hotel just about meets that level of categorization in terms of decor and facilities which are tired. The service was less than one would expect. Reception was unmanned at both arrival and departure despite those events occurring in published business hours. The staff member at reception on arrival, when eventually located, was dressed in dirty overalls and was unable to process the admission other than to provide a key. On departure, again after eventually locating the staff member, a stray charge for another room had been attached to my account whilst this was corrected it pointed to poor management. Not an establishment I will visit again.

« Good basic motel with all the amenities »

The motel is somewhat dated however is a seasoned traveller for work this wasn't an issue whatsoever. The place is clean and the room / bed was comfortable enough for my 1 night stay for work. Check-in in staff were super friendly and I was able to park right outside the room which was very convenient. The best thing is it is right next door to the Courthouse Hotel - possibly one of the nicest run hotels in Country NSW. I went there to have dinner/drink/gamble LOL and Amanda made me feel right at home as soon as I walked in the door! The WI-FI at Best Western let me down a bit - it disconnected a few times and re-connection wasn't overly easy (I'm an IT specialist so this is one of the first things I look at!) - however I realise they are using a third party provider so technically not their fault...

    « Comfortable »

Stayed here overnight, after being checked in by friendly, efficient receptionist. The room was clean, my first requisite, and quiet. Large bathroom and great hot shower in the morning. Walked to the Court House Hotel for a nice dinner in a wood fire warm dining room. I would stay here again.

    « Good basic Motel »

The Best Western in Mudgee is a good basic motel. It is a few hundred yards from the main shopping district and next to the Court House Pub one of the best country pubs I have been to. It has free wirefi, however the blurb in the room is wrong, You need to go to the desk and get the Password and network name, It is free and it is excellent.

    « Convrnient »

We were in town for sport and there wasn't much left to book so we stayed here. A little dated but it was clean and convenient and has everything you need for a short stay. It had a good hot shower over a bath too. It is located next door to a pub which was great for a meal and walking distance. It was also walking distance to the main part of town only about 10 mins. You could hear a bit of traffic noise in the night if you woke up and could hear people talking or moving about in the room next door during the night also. Overall was good.

    « Functional place & convenient »

It's the sort of place you use as a base to do other things in the Mudgee region. Would not want to hang around here, just sleep only. No different to many country motels, bit dated but everything functions ok.

    « Beautiful calming stay »

Really Comfortable hotel surrounded by beautiful calming area. County side feeling like a resort. Hotel interior s super cool, cozy & clean. Big size room, good facilities. Enjoyed staying. Friendly staff. Close to pub & restaurants as well as McDonalds & KFC close by driving distance.

    « terrible, shabby, overpriced »

The first thing I noticed was the stale air and very old dirty looking carpet. Fridge was ancient and noisy, ditto the air conditioner.Considering It cost me about 30% more than many other far nicer motels, I was not happy. So disappointed upon arriving here in need of a good rest and found the room so noisy, the windows didnt close properly so it was like trying to sleep in a crowded beer garden. The noise from the adjacent pub was inescapable and continued till after midnight. When I got into bed it was quite comfy but I noticed it had only one thin, scratchy blanket, and no spares in the cupboard! When I was too cold to sleep I called reception for another blanket and they asked why I didn't just run the reverse cycle air conditioner to warm up! The towels were the thinnest, smallest and scratchiest I've ever encountered. The shower curtain was cheap and nasty and there were a couple of short curly hairs on the floor, which was gross.

    « Mudee Wanderlight »

All good except for noise. Clean , comfortable and well located to CBD and other facilities. There is quite a lot of traffic noise and there were some very loud guests the first night of our stay. It is well priced for the standard of accommodation.

    « All you need »

Really clean. Comfortable bed with crisp, white sheets. Friendly, helpful staff. Amazing shower, so hot and loads of power. Free wifi. Loads of storage. Able to walk into the centre of town in 5 mins. Quiet. Never heard any traffic.

« Comfortable and good sized room »

The room was very large and well proportioned to allow a large bed, lounge and table very comfortably. I enjoyed the quiet surroundings. It was great to see undercover parking for those who arrived at the motel early.

    « 2nd time stay - Clean and convenient »

Stayed here twice now and although basic, very clean and although mid-week with a great number of tradies and roadworkers about, not too noisey. The location is fantastic with the Court House Hotel next door and a short stroll to town for everything else. Safe and secure and I think we'll stay here again.

« Good location to explore Mudgee town »

I stayed here with my husband to explore mudgee area, location is just step to mudgee town.In front of police dept. nearby pub can be noisy late night but not an issue during our stay.Sleep quality was ok but room needs dusting before letting client occupy ..Its quite outdated though, soap available is for hair and body ..Overall for the price we paid, its ok for overnight.Mudgee town has choice of restaurant .most are cafe.Big W ,Target, coles woolworths ,best and less, are all walking distance from this hotel .winery at Ulan Rd is just a minute from this hotel.

Very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the generally neat appearance of the exterior too. Rooms were a little dated but extremely fresh and clean. I particularly liked the "green-ness" of the hand soap and body wash / shampoo dispensers. Much more economical and environmentally friendly than the single-use throwaway packages.

    « Comfortable and convenient »

The Best Western is situated not far from the main centre of Mudgee, near restaurants and cafés, and a short drive to the Mudgee wine areas. It is basic accommodation with free car parking available. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms (#6) Pros - comfortable bed - plenty of storage space - bar fridge - air conditioning - television with free-to-air channels - free Wi-Fi - daily room service - your own car space - vending machine for snacks available - on site restaurant for lunch/dinner - in room breakfast only - outside pool and BBQ area - basic bathroom toiletries supplied, as well as shower gel/shampoo - five minute walk to restaurants and cafés - close to supermarkets (Coles and Woolworths) - gives Best Western points and QANTAS Frequent Flyer points for your stay Cons - I had no compendium in the room to tell me how Wi-Fi etc worked. - Wi-Fi was patchy and hard to connect to. I managed once but couldn't again. A new password is required from Reception every 24 hours. Once connected, measured speeds on my iPhone were 3.3Mbps download and 1.3Mbps upload. - other people sometimes park in your space - can be a little noisy with people's cars coming and going in the morning Overall, it was a comfortable stay and about what I would have expected from a motel.

    « Mudgee on a Budget »

Old-style Motel typical in so many small Australian country towns but perhaps not so in ever-expanding Mudgee. This wine region is bringing in considerably more visitors but not everyone is gearing up to attract the top-end travellers.

« Good value, quality and cleanliness »

We've stayed at quite few properties in Mudgee over the years - Wanderlight is very comfortable, clean and well maintained and I would be happy to return. Quieter than many other motels as it is just that little bit further from the main road, but still close enough to wander into town.

    3
    « Convenient location »

The motel was very conveniently located close to town centre and cafés. Rooms were dated but a good size. Awkward bathroom position with not much space,we only stayed one night and relocated the next day.

    « Below Average »

I stayed here for a week in Mudgee, and had no where else to stay. The rooms were dated however they were spacious and had the typical amenities. The manager of the property was rude and was trying to charge more than what he originally quoted; he claimed I made a mistake in the booking, which I didn't and he kept arguing. The cleaners and staff were very friendly and courteous; however I don't think I will be staying here again.

    « Excellent motel »

I've stayed at plenty of country motels in my time and this is one of the best. Centrally located it is an easy walk into town. It looks like it has been recently refurbished so the bathrooms are modern and clean. New TVs and aircon round out the great amenities. To top it all off the staff are extremely hospitable and even the smallest request was no problem. If you are in Mudgee satay here for sure, you won't be disappointed.
