« Beautiful hotel with pool and SPA »

In summary: has pool and hot SPA, nice and clean country style interior, super friendly staff, little bit far to walk to downtown, expensive restaurant. We stayed at the hotel as family with kids. We choose the hotel, because it looked stylish and beautiful and it was as good as it looked on the pictures. It had kind of country style and lots of wood was used in the interior. The room was nice and clean. There was no sign of wear. The facility had pool and hot water SPA. All rooms were connected to the pool side as far as we can tell. There was enough room and towels for everybody. We didn't eat there, because we didn't find any vegan food in the menu and all the dishes were rather expensive. I did get a beer from the pub and they had good IPA's on the tap there. The restaurant had live music on Friday night. They had a whole band there and it was very enjoyable. The staff was super helpful and friendly. This actually applies to everybody we meet at the town. The hotel was in good location. It was just off the highway, but far enough not to have any noise. It's about half a mile walk to downtown. So, it's kind of far to walk, but too close to drive. We had mountain view room and it truly did have perfect view to it.

    « Nice Overnight stay »

It is true - the lobby is very cute, the bathrooms are very clean, the room is very comfortable. The room amenities are above and beyond what you would expect at a Best Western. This hotel is by far the nicest hotel in this small town. BUT the "Mountain View" we requested and paid extra for is not at all what I envisioned. In my mind I saw a second floor room with a large window with the curtains open revealing beautiful Mt. Shasta. What we got was a first floor room on the parking lot. And the view was of semi-truck parked along the road in front of the hotel. We have to keep the curtains pulled closed because the window facing in the direction of the mountain was also on the sidewalk in the parking area. When went back to the front desk to double check that our room (107) was the "Mountain View" we paid extra for, the young lady at the desk told me to "Look Up" and kinda giggled. I would stay here again but get a standard room and save a couple of bucks (and giggles).

« Best hotel in the Shasta City area »

This hotel staff is very friendly. The amenities are constantly changing but fairly generous. i.e. They used to have a free complimentary buffet breakfast, now it's 25% off of your restaurant served breakfast. They used to have free coffee in the lobby, not now for some reason. Housekeeping is good, quick, and efficient. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are spacious.

    « You won't want to Leave »

We were so impressed with this lodge style property that we decided to stay on our way home. They have a Tesla charging station on the property, which is what brought us there. Our room was huge with a deck at the back. We had a drink at the bar, dinner in the restaurant- enjoyed the prime rib and the crème brule. We sat by the huge fireplace in the lobby and listened to the entertainment from the lounge. Great value.

« Cabin in the woods »

This hotel has a wood design architecture that reminds me of cabins in the mountains. The lobby is beautiful as well as entire place. The veiws of Mt Shasta are stunning. We had breakfast in the hotel and the food was great. There is a big wood burning fireplace in the restaurant that was so nice to see going. It's very cozy there and I will surely stay at the place again. Our entire family enjoyed the stay and that's not always easy to do. Mark......

« Home away from home! »

I have stayed at this hotel many times while visiting my daughter who lives in Shasta. Along with other family and friends we always stay at this friendly, safe, comfortable, accommodating hotel. The grounds are carefully maintained with wonderful views of either beautiful Mount Shasta or the waterfall garden. Their restaurant has excellent food (too bad they don't have room service!). My dog travels with me and they have a garden area where we can go for walks and "take care of business". The hotel is located near a small shopping center and the local downtown shops. If you're looking for a cozy, comfortable good night's sleep...the beds are great and the pillows fluffy. It's my home away from home when I'm on the road.

« Such a great place! Feels like home! »

This place feels like home! Every time I drive through I always stay here and love it! Coopers bar is a great place to get a drink and enjoy the food. The prime rib is so good! The hot tub is such a relaxing place to unwind before getting on the road again. The views are wonderful and the staff is so friendly! Definitely recommend!

« Lovely hotel in a lovely setting »

We have come to expect high quality from the Best Western Plus hotels. This one did not disappoint. The hotel is furnished in a mountain cabin style. It has a good quality restaurant (Treehouse), a bar and lounge, a large pool and spa and inspiring views of Mt. Shasta if you happen to have a room facing east. Our room was clean and spacious. Off-season rates were moderate. Note: no breakfast included.

    « mount shasta experience »

While visiting Mount Shasta I wanted to keep costs down and stayed at some 50/night rooms. Before leaving, I wanted to stay at the Tree House because it looked cute and had a view of the mountain. I wish I would have stayed here the whole time. The room was outstanding, service excellent and you can't beat the view. Restaurant was very good as well. I had the stuffed pepper soup and BLTA which was awesome and the price is reasonable if not great.

« Tree House Inn Best Western »

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel clean and inviting. I love the indoor pool and spa. The bar was hopping and service was good. The food was okay and not really very exciting. Loved the sweet potato fries though!

    « Perfect Hotel Experience »

This is our second stay at The Tree House Best Western in Mt. Shasta, and each time has been nothing short of perfect. Fantastic, warm, professional staff, beautiful and extremely comfortable rooms, and great perks. I particularly enjoyed the pumpkin pie coffee fixings just off the lobby, this time around, and the delicious cookies at check in, which I needed after a long drive. Really great lodging experience, overall, and well-priced. You get a lot of bang for your buck, very reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

« Great place with spectacular views »

We spent three nights here while visiting friends and exploring the area. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was standard, but with a large two sink restroom area and comfortable bed. The hotel bar and restaurant had very good food and good friendly service as well. One thing that bugged us was the hallway were very warm. Winter was approaching so the hallway heaters was on. Overall I'd recommend staying here.

    5
« Great Family Hotel with a good restaurant! »

We spent one evening here on our California Road Trip. The views of Mt Shasta are wonderful. The staff was super friendly and the hotel itself is a beautiful throwback to themed road side hotels. The woodwork in the hallways and the rooms is beautiful. The views of the inner courtyard from our room was wonderful as well. The restaurant on property had a friendly wait staff and the breakfast was very good!

« Log cabin in the shadow of snowy peaks »

This was the most interesting Best Western I have ever encountered. The entire hotel is modeled to feel rustic and like a ski-lodge. The staff were great and very accommodating. The do allow pets I saw many dogs during my brief stay. Also if you are there for the long haul there is a grocery store just across the street so you don't have to eat out 100% of your stay. Warm was a standard room for a hotel of this caliber which is beyond a typical Best Western. Random oddity: my room number was 325 and was on the second floor. Despite this, the room it was very easy to find because the front desk provided great instructions and the location is not a mess of hallways and has the bank of rooms clearly marked.

« Best Western Plus Tree House, Mt. Shasta »

We have stayed at the hotel several times. It is always worth it. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere in the lobby is wonderful! I love to sit by the fireplace in the lobby and just relax!

« Very good, not quite great »

We stayed here while attending an outdoor conference that took off from nearby Weed. The motel is quite nice; it's conveniently located and has great beds and other stuff. Lobby area and staff are impressive. Good air and air conditioning in the room, which was very clean. The lobby-area restaurant and bar seem OK, though we did not use them except to purchase a glass of wine for transport to a nearby "convention" room. Not sure why there was no free breakfast, which you usually get at Best Westerns, especially the higher end ones. No fitness center. And the coffee, both in the room and in the lobby, was awful, and the in-room coffee maker was the type that makes it hard for you to make your own coffee (we typically bring our own). I don't know why otherwise good motels scrimp on items like that. The banquet food on Saturday night was terrible, but I don't know if the motel or another vendor was responsible for that. All in all, quite satisfactory, but given the relatively high price, they could have offered more.

« Above and Beyond my Expectations »

I was sick from day 1. The chef provided chicken broth FREE OF CHARGE during my entire visit. Room was spotlessly clean. I've stayed in many hotels cheap and expensive...This one ranks as one of the best. Jacuzzi and pool, carpeting and everything else were all clean. Front desk staff and even cleaning lady - ALL were very competent, professional and courteous, likely best service I've seen at a hotel. 2nd floor room was very quiet. Restaurant had GREAT waiter each time, and as I mentioned, the chef went above and beyond. The only minor issue if I really had to give one, was that the heater adjustment needed to be explained over the phone - it was not an obvious/standard up and down with the temperature gauge. Overheard a lady complain about the heat in her room --she had no idea it could have easily been adjusted. I mentioned to front desk that they need a simple step by step card on the heater/a/c unit. As for those who don't like the décor, well, to me it was like a mountain lodge, a lot of carved wood tables - but I don't see it as an issue - I think it's people looking for something to complain about. If I am in a hotel that is spotlessly clean and quiet, I am happy. If the staff is competent and do their job well, I am happier. If the restaurant is good also, there's nothing left to want. This place was GREAT.

    « It was nice »

Nice location, nice people, clean rooms and comfortable beds. No free breakfast, stayed 3 days but was given 1 voucher for 25% off one breakfast. The lounge looks into pool area so swimming and using the spa was like being on display for the diners. Awkward!!

    3
    « Could use a little updating »

Nice enough hotel, interesting doors to first floor rooms from both inside and out. Quiet even while hotel was completely booked. We settled in and ate dinner in the attached restaurant. That is so nice after a day on the road being able to walk back to your room. We got pasta I got alfredo (tasteless) and the hubby got a sausage spaghetti (delicious) The pool area is nice, could use a little more cleaning in the actual pool and hot tub. The area was completely empty so we were able to enjoy it alone. As for going to the restaurant for breakfast very much over prices 4 juice, 3 plain coffee (which is free in lobby area). Very nice staff and seems to be a well staffed hotel.

« Non understanding of why change »

This was a great place that I stayed at many times, but after no help from staff with TV or changing the cont .Breakfast to getting a coupon with a or 25%discount off, because "it cost too much for a buffet that we used to offer, and some people didn't like it" I think that my company will seek other options in the future.

    5
    « A lovely property »

This is a very nice hotel with spacious rooms in a delightful setting. The dining room serves excellent breakfast and the staff are equally nice. The hotel has a nice pool and jacuzzi as well as WIFI.

    5
« Mt. Shasta the Beautiful »

We have stayed at the Mt. Shasta Tree House for the past 30 years and always have a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, clean facility and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was nicer than the Hilton in Hawaii. The Tree House has in room coffee maker, microwave and small refer and no charge for parking unlike the Hilton's, we will never stay in again.

    5
« Great for Locals, too! »

I stay here whenever I am having work done at my house, when the power goes out in my area or when there is a big snow storm. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. There is a pool, it can be noisy, but nice when it is not. The breakfast is above average for an 'breakfast included' hotel. The grocery store, Round Table Pizza, Bank, Fast food etc. are within walking distance. They are dog friendly - there is a big field with a dog area behind the hotel. It is the "most expensive" place in town, but the other places are pretty inexpensive. It is well worth the extra pennies to stay here. Good place for kids - nothing better than swimming when it is snowing out!

    5
« Very nice, great decor! »

We loved the decor at this motel, lots of wood with a feel of the West. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom had two sinks which helps out a lot with two people in a room. Two restaurants in the motel, which made it nice and easy for dinner. Plenty of outdoor parking too. Our room had a door to the outside parking and a door to the indoor corridors. I thought the price of a room a bit high, but I guess you get what you pay for!

    4
    « Great position »

This is a good place to stop to visit this majestic mountain. We hade a mountain view room which we could see with a bit of a stretch around the tree across the parking lot! The room was very comfortable and we loved the fact that we could get to it from outside as well as inside. It made hauling suitcases much easier being able to park right outside. Very nice people and the restaurant was passable. I think I would eat out next time though. Went to a diner up the road for breakfast.

    3
    « A handicapped trial »

This was very disappointing after expecting a mountain view as advertised, and expecting easy handicapped navigation and a nice hot breakfast included for the expensive room. But it had a great handicapped shower for her

    « Top Shelf »

Exceptional! Cheerful reception, attractive room and furnishings, new carpeting, convenient guest laundry, and very good on-site restaurant. Got a free upgrade for being a BW Rewards member. Good WiFi service and true HD reception with wide choice of channels.

    5
    « Lovely hotel »

The design and decor are beautiful in a lovely setting. We had a spectacular view of Mt. Shasta. Lovely room, good service. There were some minor noise issues with the ventilation system and the wifi connection was not great. Not deal-breakers, but there's room for improvement.

    5
    « Exceptionally Nice »

One of the nicest Best Westerns we have stayed in. Lovely facility, outside access to ground floor rooms, some rooms have patios, and lovely view of Mount Shasta. The on site restaurant was so good that after one meal there,we did not leave the premises to dine out. Lake Siskiyou is just a few miles away and definitely worth the short drive. Beautiful little lake with Mount Shasta in the background. Great photo opportunities!

« Visiting Mt Shasta for the 3rd time!!! »

The Best Western is the ideal place to stay, as it is right in the middle of town and you can access almost all the attraction around this area. The hotel has a great swimming pool and a spa, laundry room (which is ideal to do your own laundry), the bar for relaxing and the restaurant.

    5
    « Best Western Treehouse »

Our favorite place to stop between Oregon and California. We often travel with pets and the Treehouse is very accommodating. Additionally we really like the fact that they have Tesla Superchargers. This allows us to drive the Tesla rather than our pickup truck for this very long trip. The restaurant is very good. All in all it is the perfect stop for us because we can eat sleep and fill up our auto without leaving the hotel.

    5
    « Very Comfortable Stay »

Had a wonderful late summer stay in Mount Shasta. The Tree House felt more like an Inn than a Hotel. Wonderful service, updated room and pet friendly. Home away from home. All the Amenities you could ask for here

    2
« Best Western Plus Tree House, Mount Shasta »

A/C didn't work. Lighting in rooms were very poor. Rooms were never cleaned on Saturday. We came back to suite with trash, dirty towels and unmade beds. Dirty laundry was sitting in halls and stairways. Parking was also an issue. Front Desk Clerk are check out were unattentive to the issues. They were poorly trained and couldn't answer room charges.

    4
« Good Location, with Bar and Restaurant »

We stayed here for a night while on a motorcycle trip. Check-in was ok and the room was nice and with mountain view. The lounge/bar was a great place to hang out. The restaurant offers a good menu but food was on the average side. We had crab cakes and the trout, it was ok but not as good as the menu suggested.

    « Outright Lied To »

We were lied to when we reserved here! We were outright lied to by reservations and later by management once we were on site! We reserved a "Suite" as they indicated that it had a living area, a kitchenette and 2 King rooms. However, their "Suites" are not Suites. They are just two adjoining rooms with ONE ONLY ONE BATH...it did have a kitchenette, but no living area...the living area had one chair only, which is just like a regular hotel room! Literally, the only place to sit was on the beds. This was unsuitable for us as we needed a living area for small children to play and made this clear to reservations when we were querying about this hotel. (We were also considering another local hotel and VRBO.). Besides the living situation, we were told we had a view and a balcony...the view was of the roof with a distant side view of Shasta and no balcony. It should also be stated that the reason that we were dealing with the hotel to ask about the "Suite's" details is due to the fact that there were no pics to be found of it anywhere on the internet. Once we arrived and found out that this was not at all what we were told, we were lied and condescended to by the staff, and particularly the Assistant Manager - Mallory. She told us that the definition of a "Suite" was a matter of "perspective" and that we had not been lied to, we had just been "misled"...good spin control!! She indicated that we were amateur travelers as any seasoned traveler would know that the definition of a suite was a matter of perspective...what was a suite to one person was not the same for another. Unbelievable!!! Lastly, I should say that I am no spring chicken and I have traveled millions of miles and stayed at hotels all over the world...never have I been sold two adjoining rooms (one with a kitchenette) as a suite! Nor, so blatantly lied to and condescended to.

    5
    « Comfy and clean »

The rooms at this hotel are very comfortable. The bed was unusually comfortable and we slept the best we had in 14 days. The decor is wood --very cozy. Great staff. It is right off the Freeway with an amazing view of Mt Shasta. It's right outside your window! Better view if you stay you stay on the second floor.

    5
    « A Hidden Oasis.. »

Used hotel as our "base"as we finally got a chance to stop and explore this area of California we always passed through. Hotel clean and centrally located to town. Staff friendly and helpful. Room large, clean, with all amenities we needed..small fridge, microwave..bed was king and very comfortable. As it was summer and in triple digits, we needed the air conditioner which ran super cold. One thing I liked was our room had two doors..one opened into the parking lot by our car, the other opened to the hotel hallway that leads to the front desk and restaurants. There are two restaurants...a bar/grill with limited fast food fare, and a more exclusive restaurant adjacent with excellent drinks and varied menu for about any taste. Both were excellent. Was very quiet during our several days stay, and had no issues. Definitely recommend this place and will return.

    « Comfortable stay »

Always wanted to see Mt. Shasta and hike in the area. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the town is great. You can walk to town from the hotel. Room was very large with a high ceiling, clean and comfortable. The first night, I could hear an argument in the room next door. But that was because it was truly, truly a loud argument. The walls are solid and the next night I heard nothing. The restaurant serves good food but there is a cheaper option (Black Bear) across the street and a variety of places in town. I didn't have a mountain view because they cost more. If you want to splurge, it may be worth it.

« Cleverly crafty with all the wood decor »

I was on a motorcycle and it was getting hot in the construction traffic on I-5. My wife said lets pull over and enjoy a meal and drinks and let the bike cool off. Coopers was advertised as a nice bar and grill. The friendly attentive staff was empathetic to our thirst and kept the drinks coming promptly. The light meal we ordered was tasty and cooked to a perfection. We were not disappointed in the Hotel or Restaurant. We will be staying here next time coming through. I wanted to stay in Weed at the historical Motel the last visit. I am never disappointed in any of my dealings with this area.

    « It was great! »

Nice atmosphere, Nice employees. Nice clean room with wi-fi and comfy bed and great shower. Restaurant breakfast was good too. View of Mt Shasta from parking lot is awesome. Easy on-off freeway access. My first night sleep was interrupted by trains blaring horns as they went by. My second night I did not notice it at all.

    5
« Always a treat at the TreeHouse Inn »

Friendly staff, good food at Cooper's, the pool and hot tub a great way to finish one day and start the next. Whether traveling solo, as a couple or with the family, we always make it a point to stay at the Best Western Tree House Inn. Prices have steadily climbed the last few years and a few of the included freebies have disappeared as well (free breakfast, free cocktail) In spite of this, the motel always seems fully booked. We don't drive a Tesla, but if you do, check details on their on-site charging stations (free?). There are 6 or so now.

    3
    « Way over-priced! »

The facility is comfortable and clean. Our room was small, but adequate. The ad sounded like our "suite" would be much bigger. It really wasn't any bigger than a Motel 6 room. Also, there was a "Grab to Go" that was a poor substitute for even a small breakfast often provided at many lesser-priced hotels. We definitely would not come again because of the price. Also, if you're a light sleeper - a train goes by 2-3 times at night and sounds very close!

    5
« Best on this trip! »

We had a great stay here while visiting the area. The staff were great, we arrived early so they stowed or motorcycle gear while we wandered around town for a couple of hours. The happy hour was a nice treat also. The room was just great. We would love to go back.

    4
    « Great Location »

I stayed here on business with my wife and we had a great experience. Hotel has Restaurant/Bar/Lounge on premises, which made it nice. Clean, comfortable rooms and comfortable beds. Location to town and shops was excellent.

    5
« Great place to stay! »

Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel.Everyone was so helpful and nice! Room accommodations were excellent! Restaurant right at the facility. Great food, great selections of items! Beautiful environment and surroundings! Plan on coming here again if we travel this way!

    4
    « Overnighter »

Site has great view of Mount Shasta mountain and located close to main street and miscellaneous stores & restaurants. Town is slowly losing small businesses & restaurants compared to visits in the past. Hotel experiences some parking issues when work trucks block numerous parking areas. Their are convenient electric charging stations for autos. Breakfast is no longer included with the stay.

    4
    « BW - Mt Shasta »

Average accommodations. Really needs an upgrade with regard to HVAC. Everytime the HVAC came on, he sounded like a baby was crying. Our brunch could have been warmer and there were no spoons available per the waitress - so we used our forks to stir our coffee.

    3
    « Tree House Inn »

Not as pleasant as it has been for years. Something is missing including the care of the staff. The front desk seemed not to care that there were drunken and noise guests disturbing folks at 11 pm. Overall this was my worst expereince with this hotel in 20 years or more!

    3
    « Sander Family reunion »

We stayed here because it was a large Sander Family Reunion and this was where the group was staying. The suites were quite disappointing. Poor arrangements of the 1 bathroom and the bedrooms, needing to go through 1 to get to the other. Another sink with mirror but back to back to back with the main bathroom. Should be 1 with each bedroom.Good location.

  • 4
« Great Base for Mt Shasta »

Convenient locatIon, easy check-in, and dated but comfortable room made this a decent stop. The hotel restaurant provided a good menu selection, attentive servers, and well-prepared meals. The view of Mt Shasta from the restaurant was excellent. The is definitely a destination for a return visit.

    5
« Lovely Hotel - Beautiful Facilities - Great Environment »

This hotel was just lovely. The rooms were great - we had a single room AND a two-room suite and all was wonderful. The pool and spa were sparkling clean and wonderful to relax in. The only negative - and easily resolved - was that when I made the reservation it indicated breakfast was included. In the meantime the hotel had changed its policy and breakfast was NOT included, but they comped it since I had books five months before our trip. The restaurant is excellent and all the food was terrific.

    5
    « Family Reunion Gathering »

Many of our family chose to stay at the Mt. Shasta Best Western as we gathered for a family reunion. We found this to be an extremely comfortable stay with all the amenities we desired. The restaurant and bar on property offered great service, drink and food and the rooms were beautifully clean and comfortable. Our room had a superb view of Mt. Shasta. Shopping and additional food services was within walking distance and the main part of the town was just around the corner. Additionally, parks, lakes and hiking were within 20 to 30 minutes away. An awesome stay was had by all. Thank you Best Western for everything. Aloha

    3
« Overpriced. not enough value for money »

Location is good. Probably the reason they are way too expensive compared to others. Even after paying so much they don't include a free breakfast. Room itself is good. Access to the rooms might not be so great if you are in building 3 which i suspect was some other hotel which they acquired.

    4
    « Very convenient »

This hotel has easy I-5 access and was quiet and comfortable. Prices were higher than I expected but it was summer season. Daniel's Lounge has very good service and an extensive menu that is fairly reasonably priced.

    5
    « Cute lodge »

This was the first of 5 Best Western Plus properties that we stayed at during our family road trip. We have developed an appreciation for the chain. :) This was the perfect mountain lodge in a budget kind of place. Everything was carved of wood and our room's ceiling had pretty high beams. We arrived pretty late after a long drive so we rushed to the hotel restaurant for dinner, which to our surprise was the very same top rated Yelp restaurant we had picked out in advance. Dinner was unexpectedly delicious. I had the chicken stuffed with sun dried tomatoes and the mashed potatoes were outstanding. The kids had a corn dog and pasta, which came with pretty salty fries that we actually appreciated after our strenuous day of hiking. The staff kept the pool open late for us, since we had arrived late. The pool was indoor, but lovely. Usually hotel indoor pools are kind of small and not appealing, this was expansive, the room heated well to encourage you to jump in, and had a distinctive life feel. When we awoke in the morning we looked out the window to find a GREAT view of Mount Shasta! We highly recommend this place!

    « A Room with a View »

It was a last-minute reservation. I phoned Lily from the car as we were en route and inquired if they had any availability for that same evening. With great professionalism and concern, Lily was able to reserve a beautiful room at a reasonable rate for us. And indeed, when we arrived, Lily greeted us warmly and directed us to our room. We were thrilled. The room was spacious, quiet, very clean and nicely appointed. The moon was full, and from out window, we could see Mr. Shasta illuminated. It was breathtaking. Thank you, Lily, for the room with a view.

We were only passing through; however, we would definitely stay here again if we were planning a trip to the area. It has a mountain lodge atmosphere with nice, clean rooms, great food and a great staff.

    « Disappointing »

This has always been my favorite stopover on trips from SF to PDX. But this time, no. Why not? The bad: no complimentary breakfast. Instead, they gave us a "Grab and Go" bag, which was a bottle of water and a nutrition bar. That is just pathetic. Insulting, really. Five years ago they offered a fine, full comp breakfast. Most BW hotels offer at least a continental breakfast. And this place is supposed to be a Best Western Plus. Now the price of rooms is up by at least 20%, and they don't even offer at least a continental breakfast? Best Western Minus! The good: room was clean, as always, and the dinner was very good. But! I will search for another option next time through. They are still lots of hotels/motels who understand that they are in the guest & hospitality business.

Staying at the TREE HOUSE was the best choice Friendly and very helpful staff - they do not hesitate to give directions - The rooms were in excellent condition and VERY clean The front doors are easy to open - the automatic door openers actually do work - There is a grocery store and several places to eat just across the parking lot from the hotel Plenty of parking The pool area is well kept and was always stocked with fresh towels

    « A Tad Disappointed »

For the price I was expecting a little more in the way of amenities. Very few Best Western Plus establishments do not offer a complimentary breakfast, but this was one of them. I can't complain about the rooms, they were large and comfortable, as was the bathrooms. On this trip to Alaska and back I have reservations at 13 Best Westerns, and so far, only 2 have not provided a complimentary breakfast. Bummer!

« the best part is a thing of the past =( »

we have stayed here in the past, it is convienient and very clean. However, it is starting to appear very dated. Our only let down is that they use to serve a great hot breakfast with your stay, and it is no longer included. Very disappointing!

    « An Expensive Delight »

We were in Mt. Shasta on business and some meetings took place in this hotel, so we chose to spend the money to stay in this, the nicest hotel in Mt. Shasta--and, in the summer, twice the price of the competition. But our king room was large emough to accommodate a good desk and an easy chair, was very comfortable, and opened out to the inner courtyard with its lawn and fountain. It was so nice to have a restaurant on the premises, and a bar as well. Dining choices in Mt. Shasta are limited--particularly now that the excellent Indian restaurant is closing--and the food at the Tree House is just acceptable, but very convenient. The staff members were all pleasant and helpful.

Growing up in this area it's always great to come back and relate all the great beauty to my friends, with that perfect view of Mt. Shasta, great place to stay, have referred the Tree House to lots of families.

« Don't pay for Mt. Shasta View »

The hotel was 'fine'. My interactions with reservations, Check-in, Check-Out were excellent - friendly, and efficient. The room was large - We had a sitting area with a small sofa (Which I didn't realize at the time of booking), the bed was comfortable. We selected a more expensive room just to get the Mount Shasta view and regretted that choice. We were on the second floor, so our view of the mountain also included a view of the buildings in front of us and the A/C / satellite dish / Kitchen Vent. Our experience in the restaurant was also mixed. My cedar-plank salmon came out raw and cold inside and I don't think they were going for Sashimi style. However, our waiter was excellent, very attentive, offered to fix the problem immediately. So, overall, great people - doing their best with what they have to work with ...

« Good Place For Area »

Loved the hotel for what we needed. I have a family and the accommodation (Cedar Suite) was perfect. Room had two King beds and enough room to move around. Nice view of the mountain from the 3rd floor. Solid two night stay, can't complain about anything.

    « Norton Family Reunion »

This is a very nice hotel to stay at. Rooms are big. Some of the rooms have a patio with a bistro table & 2 chairs. Indoor pool and hot tub, has a separate workout room. They are close enough to walk to local businesses and shop / eat. They have free wifi, they have a separate restaurant and bar. You can also eat on patio.

    « Easy Location / Good Price »

We stayed here on the first night of our road trip (2 kids/2adults). It was a decent room - clean but a little dated. I thought we had booked a room with a view of the mountain and, technically we did but I did not expect a giant 76 station sign between us and the mountain. If you are paying extra for a nice view please be aware that there are a lot of light, buildings and signs between you and the mountain. The pool was indoor and huge but chilly. The kids liked it but I couldn't force myself to get in. There were cookies at the check-in desk for the kids and the staff was quite nice. We left too early in the morning to take advantage of the breakfast.

    « Great Stay »

We stayed in room 123, double queen beds with a mountain view. As many have noted, the view includes the view of the parking lot but it's still nice. Our room had vaulted ceilings too. The room is a bit dated but very clean. It is on the second floor and close to the lobby, restaurants and pool. The air condition unit is the wall/window type and is noisy. We also heard the occasional train whistle. The indoor pool was quite large and the hot tub is also appreciated after five hours in the car from Eugene. The restaurant is awesome. Will review separately but highly recommend it for dinner.

« Great Find, Convenient Location »

We stayed at this hotel over the 4th of July on our way up to Oregon with our two kids under 10. It is right off the freeway - a very convenient place to stay when you are traveling through and need to stop for a night. The hotel is nice and has a great, large, indoor pool. I would definitely stay here again.

    « Second Stay »

We stayed at this property last summer and based on our good experience returned this summer. Last year we had room 125, which I was pleased with. This year we were given the room next door, 127, which I liked even more since it is on the end. 127 is a king with mountain view. The room was large and had everything we needed. The room itself was clean and the housekeeper named Vickie quite accommodating and pleasant. We slept wonderfully. The bed and pillows were excellent. We never heard our neighbors. My only suggestion would be to have staff clean the exterior of the windows more frequently. We had a view, but it was through less than clean windows. Parking was convenient and we could park where we could see our vehicle. I do agree with other's assessment that a BW Plus should offer a free breakfast to its customers. We just cooked up instant oatmeal in our room using the microwave because we wanted to hit the trails early and not fuss with taking the time to eat out. A tip is to order a sandwich made at Raley's Store Deli Section in the nearby strip mall and have a picnic lunch out in the woods as you explore the area. We will definitely continue to return.

    4
« Expensive and no breakfast »

Stayed for one night $230 for an average room and considering it's a Best Western Plus breakfast not included in the price. Definitely not a plus and very expensive. Nothing really under $20 so left without any breakfast

« Good Spot to rest! »

Hotel is great spot to sleep in Shasta City halfway point between Seattle and San Diego. Food was good for dinner and breakfast. The Prime Rib dinner is excellent. 6 beers on tap. Breakfast in the morning was great. Hippy mountain town at the base of a Volcano. Very cool if you have time to hike, shop, or mtn, bike. All equipment available for rent at The Fifth Season.

    3
    « Just Average »

Our room overlooked the parking lot. If a tree was pruned, we could have seen Mt. Shasta. The other side of the hotel faces the highway. The room was just average and could use a deep clean including the bathroom. We would stay there again but ensure it was a tad cleaner. There are better more cost effective restaurants in the village of Mt. Shasta for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    5
    « Great launching point »

We were working our way down through Northern California on a cycling/kayaking trip. This was the perfect stop off the freeway. Easy to get to, and had all the amenities one could wish for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very comfortable home base during the trip.

« Tesla Supercharger and friendly staff »

If you are driving a Tesla vehicle on I-5 in California, you will want to stop at the Best Western Tree House in Mt. Shasta. The mountain climb will take lots of horsepower and this is a pleasant spot to charge. Entering the hotel, you notice the beautiful heavy wooden doors. Inside the lobby are freshly baked cookies for customers and a mini gift shop. There is a lively bar that was full of people in the late afternoon when we stopped. The staff is friendly, the restrooms are clean and this looks like a great place to stay!

« Great stay, would recommend »

Great stay, had everything we needed. Winding hallways with ramps and stairs, you might mention when reserving if accessibility considerations are needed. Lots of folks in the bar at night a good number in the restaurant the next morning for breakfast. Food options looked fine, front desk offered a 25% discount coupon for breakfast when we asked about options. Several nearby restaurants appear to be out of business, so the hotel restaurant or grab and go might be your best options. Staff was welcoming and friendly, rooms and common areas, including the pool, were clean. Decor may have been a bit dated, but bedding was great and everyone slept well. They have a great line of products (shampoo, conditioner, lotion), which I always appreciate, along with the cookies upon arrival ????

« Excellent property except loss of breakfast buffet »

We have made a habit of staying here for a weekend in July every year for a car show which takes place on North Mt. Shasta Blvd a few blocks away. Easy to walk from the show back to the hotel for lunch at the great Coopers Bar and Grill (Excellent burgers and fries with a beer for $12). Indoor pool and hot tub (fun for the whole family).

« Best Western, the Best »

« A great place to stay when visiting Mt. Shasta »

We were very fortunate to have selected Tree House Best Western. We had been hiking Mt. Lassen and getting ready to do some day trips on Mt. Shasta. Did some research as we were driving and pulled in. From the moment we entered we felt at home. A great lobby, very professional and friendly staff. A wonderful, large room. Best of all was the large, indoor, heated swimming pool. We used it often. After a long day hiking, nothing beats a beautiful pool and spa, The restaurant was also great and a cut above. I recommend this hotel to families on the road. A great calue well worth the price.

    « Great Service »

Hotel was very nice. Rooms were clean with a great bed. We especially enjoyed the service from the wait staff in the restaurant. We came in at closing time for dinner and the staff was still courteous, warm and helpful. Breakfast service was also excellent. I would definitely stay at this hotel again?good value for the money and with a good restaurant on the premises with good service and food, it's super convenient.

« Lovely Hotel, well maintained, beautiful view, BUT NO BREAKFAST BAR »

The hotel is lovely. If you spring for a View of Mount Shasta, you do indeed get a lovely view of Mount Shasta. Though it might be over the rooftop. On Building 3, use the side entrance (Handicapped entrance) to bring in luggage. The back door ramp is brutal. When I made the reservation, people talked about he lovely breakfast bar. Well, they have remodeled the restaurant and removed the breakfast bar. We even pay for Breakfast Bars at the fancy hotels that don't include breakfast, that is how much they are part of our day. I love the fact that breakfast is whatever I want and lovely spread. The ticket I got covered a very bare breakfast. And if you recently got your reservation you didn't even get that. And frankly, their breakfast menu was Very Limited, Denny's is better and cheaper. I was not impressed. I might stay here again, but if it is one of our one night stops, I might look for someone who has a Real Breakfast.

Extremely friendly hotel staff- especially Dina at the front desk!!! Made the visit very enjoyable. All started with the phone call to Best Western Reservations and they really helped getting the best rate!! Pet friendly, including the restaurant. Rooms are large, clean and easily accessible- including the rooms that opens up to the grass courtyard. Restaurant food was good and reasonably priced, especially breakfast. Friendly staff, helpfiul. Within walking distance of movie theater, supermarkets, Subway and Round Table Pizza.

    « We'll be back »

This place is cute! Our room had a courtyard entrance as well as the standard hallway entrance which gave the kids access to a grass area and small stream that they loved! Grass was well kept, no dog poop even though the hotel is pet friendly. Rooms were a little dated, dark and worn but it added to the wood cabin/tree house rustic chalet feel. The place was clean, beds comfy and quiet even though we had neighbors all around us. Location was convenient right off the freeway and adjacent to a small market. Onsite restaurant was convenient but service was hit or miss and some of the menu items could use an adjustment (kids French toast breakfast only comes with French toast - perhaps you should add eggs or fruit; kids fish & chips with one side apparently is fish with chips as the side so if you ask for a side as the menu indicates you don't get the fries).

« Great property near Mt Shasta »

Was so happy to find this hotel on our visit to the area. It's conveniently located in the heart of Mt Shasta city. The lobby makes you feel at home right away. Had excellent service as well. Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was the standard but well stocked and consistent.

    3
« Breakfast no longer included! »

We stayed at the Best Western Tree House last night, and for $200 a night, it definitely was not worth the price. Our room was average to bare-bones, and had a stale unpleasant odor. Last time we stayed at this hotel, there was a hot buffet breakfast included in the (fairly high) room rate. I assumed that the same would be true this time, but apparently they have done away with any kind of breakfast - they don't even have a continental breakfast. I wish I had known that this had changed. We feel like we got ripped off overall, and will probably not stay here again.

« Great dog friendly Motel »

We brought our GSD with us to this motel, and everyone from the motel and restaurant were very accommodating. There is a large grassy area to let your dog play, with a poop bag station. The restaurant had a patio dining area with views of Mt Shasta. The motel is a newer motel in a great location.

    « Lovely Location, Dog-Friendly Hotel »

We stayed here in October, 2015, so the prices were less than what one would expect in the height of summer season. I cannot remember exactly the price but it was just below $200 which included tax and extra for our dog. This is normally more than we usually pay but we decided to treat ourselves inasmuch as Mount Shasta is a lovely venue. We were in Room 338, on the top floor of a new wing of the hotel. Room had vaulted ceiling, couch and chair, refrigerator and micro-wave. We had a balcony with a terrific view of Mt. Shasta. The hotel has a full breakfast menu and a wonderful patio where we sat with our Dachshund. There is a little park next to the hotel with a mini-waterfall and is a great place to walk the pets. If you are traveling with your pet, this is the place. It is not inexpensive, but for one night it was very well worth the price. We certainly would stay there again.

« Passing through Mount Shasta »

The view of Mount Shasta was amazing. Rooms were clean. Definitely a pet friendly hotel. We brought along our 2 boxers. Plenty of space and places for them to explore and do their business. The staff of the hotel were nice and the food at the restaurant was excellent. I had the chicken tacos and my husband had the prime rib very tasty. :) There was a band playing there as well. All and all it was a great place for passing through. We would definitely stay their again.

    « Just average »

Stay here one night because our family was at Shasta lake. Probably won't stay again. Shower water didn't not drain. Reported it but front desk didn't even offer to take anything g off the bill Which I thought they should have. Dark room paid $212 for one short night. Denny's style food on menu.

    4
    « Nice view »

was recommended by friend for the view, staff was lovely, hotel is not exceptional, confusing layout, but overall a nice place, not worth $185 for one night in a queen bed. If staying longer, find a more affordable place, the view is everywhere. The food was awful in restaurant for breakfast. There was no complimentary breakfast, only water fruit and coffee. Go out somewhere for breakfast. at this price a nice breakfast would have been nice.

    « Surprised »

I was totally surprised when I walked into this hotel. I didn't have a reservation and the place I had planned to stay was full. I came in at 2pm and the front desk staff was really helpful. They didn't have a room ready yet, but had one cleaned quickly for me while I waited in the nice lobby bar. The room had vaulted ceilings and a nice bathroom...There was a strange stain on the wall of the bathroom, but it was in the corner where the cleaning person probably didn't see it...otherwise the staff were great and the hotel was much nicer than I thought a Best Western would be!

    5
    « great atmosphere »

We could not find a place to stay and we stumbled at this one. It was the last room available. We loved the rustic look of the hotel and want to visit just to stay there. The staff were friendly. The suite was a little more than we wanted to pay but it worked out very nice. We didn't use the kitchen since we were just passing through.

    3
    « Tree house BW »

While the hotel is conveniently located, the price of the room per night had me expecting complementary breakfast. The WiFi was extremely spotty and slow, extremely slow at times. I've stayed at BW hotels up and down the west coast in the past several years and this has one of the best (location) and worst we've stayed at. I could have easily stayed an hour south in Redding and had a cheaper stay with breakfast included.

    5
    « Wonderful Stay! »

Love staying at this property when I'm in Shasta. Great view rooms. Friendly service, very clean and updated. Convenient to everything. A little train and town noise but not a problem for me. A restaurant, bar, pool, hot tub, EV charging station and other amenities make this an easy. Walkable to town.

« Just an FYI, there's no Continental Breakfast »

I know that shouldn't make or break a review, but we did book this hotel because it had a Continental Breakfast (CB). I wish I could remember on which site I saw that, but I can't. Of course. They used to have CB, but don't anymore. I was told a restaurant style facility cuts down on food waste, which I am very much in favor of. Anyway, had we been expecting a sit down, order from menu, extra cost, breakfast then this restaurant they have instead of CB would have been great! And conveniently located! But we were in a hurry and wanted a quick small CB and a cup of hot coffee. So I was terribly disappointed when we realized the breakfast situation. It took forever to get the food. The waitstaff seemed frazzled. Coffee was $2.25 - nope, not for a plain cup with cream. But the food was ok and size was decent for the price. Oh, so you were staying at this hotel for the rooms?? ;) Then you are in luck. They are good! Clean and nice sized. Enjoy your stay. Bring your dogs. Pack granola bars.

    « Excellent experience »

The place looks great inside and out. Staff were sweet and welcoming during check in/check out. Room was very clean and comfortable. I even noticed that the other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves; everyone seemed relaxed and happy. I haven't stayed at other hotels in the Shasta city to compare, but I don't think I need to plan to. Best Western PLUS in Shasta was perfect. I was solo, but it definitely is a family accommodating place. :)

    « Pet friendly Hotel »

Very nice staff and very pet friendly. My family and I enjoyed our stay; used the pool and hot tub and were free to roam with our giant Labrador who was well received by all. I recommend getting a room that opens up to the lawn area, it's worth an extra $10 bucks if you have a pet.

« Still a great stay but miss the free breakfast »

Have stayed at the best western tree house for the past seven years, always in the 330s with high ceilings and great balcony views of mount Shasta. The property has always been improving with updating the decor, better wifi, better workout room. So it was disappointing that they moved from their included breakfast buffet to an ala carte breakfast. Many of my fondest memories are of feasting on the eggs florentine making waffles with the views of Shasta and Black Butte. So for this years stay at the tree house we brought our full camping cook set augmented with an invection cooktop. There are many options besides dining downstairs with black bear diner and wassayaks but early in the morning we just cooked our own food and enjoyed it on the deck with a great view of Shasta. Things change, and maybe management feels they can get more money out of their breakfast menu as a stand alone service, but for both days I was there I walked around the property and saw on average only 6 to 8 people eating breakfast. In a room that holds about 40 or more. The tree house will always be our first choice for the views and service. But it drops a few stars for the loss of the buffet, something best western hotels were once known for.

« When in Mount Shasta »

You have to check out this hotel. It is centrally located to the quaint town, very clean, decent size rooms, nice staff and a good bar. The staff would help with any recommendations around the area. I would recommend this place if every in Mount Shasta.

    4
« No weekend complimentary Breakfast »

Just a note to travelers, if you want a free continental breakfast on the weekend included in the price of your room don't pick this place. I guess in April 2016 this property decided not to offer it anymore. Even though free breakfast was the policy when I made my reservation it is not the policy now. The website has been updated, so look for the fine print.

« Great Room with Excellent Staff and Restaurant :-) »

Staying at the BW Treehouse at Mt. Shasta was one of the highlights on our 2 week out west adventure trip. The room was great with a great view of Mt. Shasta. We rented one of the top floor balcony suites. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Upon check-in we were met with friendly and helpful staff. We ate at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and were met with excellent service and food. (The eggs benedict are done perfectly here.) We also used the guest laundry facility here which was very clean. The housekeeping staff does an outstanding job. Thanks for a great stay. No negatives about this place :-)

    « Tree House excellence »

This Best Western Plus Tree House has very comfortable accommodations. The rooms are spacious, king bed mattress is just right (not too hard and not too soft) for a good night's sleep. Front desk personnel are extremely friendly and go out of their way to expeditiously process your check in and out. Our only complaint is that they have discontinued their complimentary buffet breakfast! The restaurant is good however and we did enjoy the meals there. We will always stay at the Tree House when we visit our family in the Shasta area.

« Very good location, Good accommodations »

Since the last time we stayed here a few years ago the hotel has had some major renovations which really improved the property. We had a king-bedded room with a patio facing the courtyard. In the evening we sat outside and enjoyed a glass of wine. The room is good size and the beds are comfortable. The property is dog-friendly and there are plenty of grassy areas to walk your dog. When I made my reservation the hotel included a free breakfast, but for new reservations breakfast is no longer included, but there is an onsite restaurant where you can purchase breakfast. What they did for us was offer us a voucher for a free breakfast with limited choices, or a certificate for 20% off anything on the menu. We opted for the free breakfast and had a full breakfast with juice and coffee. From the front of the hotel you have some great views of Mount Shasta

« Very good hotel, better than expected »

We stayed for 2 nights and the room they assigned to us was fantastic Mt. Shasta mountain front view! Our 3rd flood room has high ceiling and reasonable size of balcony with two chairs and one small table. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was small but separate sink is positive point. We enjoyed indoor pool and Jacuzzi every day. This is really positive for family travelers all season. The restaurant provide high quality food than I expected. And tap water is the best ever:-). However coffee is the worst ever:-( even though free of charge for hotel guest. Next time I will not order coffee but just ask the best tap water instead :-) Rainbow trout was good but Prime Rib was over cooked even though I asked as rare as possible on Sunday night. Should order by Saturday night since neighbor received it with medium rare previous night. Overall, this hotel is worth to stay and pay list price even though little bit outdated facilities. Easy to access to Super market just next to the hotel and other restaurant.

« Very expensive; NO free breakfast »

Our non smoking hotel room smelled of smoke. The handicapped entrance is a long long way from the elevator. If you're not in a wheel chair, this hotel is not truly handicapped accessible. For the very high price of the room, we were not offered a free hot breakfast. This is not acceptable. We stayed at 6 Best Western hotels on our vacation and every other one offered a free breakfast. We won't stay at this hotel again.

    4
« Surprised that is was this good »

Great location and such a friendly staff. The food offered in the restaurant and the local bar was very good. Comfortable beds! They offer washing machines for guests have a pool and a spa plus work out facility. For the price this is a very good value.

« Convenient to Tesla Superchargers »

This hotel has a bit of rustic feel to it... perhaps also an 'old' feel, but all in all is in good condition and clean. Restaurant looked a bit pricey, perhaps catering to those who couldn't be bothered to venture outside. We went to the Black Bear Diner just across and slightly up the street. The original Black Bear Diner apparently, but that's another review I suppose... The Tesla Supercharger is onsite, so it's convenient to get a charge while having dinner or breakfast and not have to make a second stop.

« Friendly staff, comfortable stay »

Room was comfortable. Staff is very friendly and ready to help. Internet service was reasonably fast and reliable. There is a in-house restaurant that has good service and decent food. If you don't like the restaurant, there are plenty of places to eat within a short distance.

    « Friendly oasis! »

We have been staying here for many years, it is very comfortable and welcoming. We arrived after a long day on the road much of it in a hard rain. We checked in and went to the cozy bar just in time to watch the Preakness and cheer for another win by Nyquist but it was not to be! Margo is a fabulous bartender, fun friendly and a great mixologist! We enjoyed her so much we ate dinner at the bar. I had the strip and my wife had a pasta dish. Marg took excellent care of us, our room was warm and cozy and the entire staff did their best to make our stay plesant! The prices very reasonable and the motel is loaded with charisma! Try it you will be pleased!

The room my sister & I stayed in @ the Best Western Tree House was very comfortable- liked the high ceilings and overall rustic décor. The restaurant on-site was...okay. Kind of bland pasta for dinner & then an overcooked omelet for breakfast. Staff overall friendly. Liked the overall look of the hotel- Would definitely consider staying here again if in the area!

Have stayed at this property before, and it has always been a good stay. Check in was easy. Room was very nice and had a patio. Room was comfortable and clean Internet service was good. They changed from a complimentary buffet breakfast to a sit-down style but offered us a discount with the change-over. Good experience.,

I stopped here for the night, my second stay here, and everything was perfect. Room was awesome with a view of Mt Shasta, and everything worked perfectly. The host was kind enough to upgrade me to a view room and was very pleasant.

    « Wonderful service & comfort »

The Best Western in Mount Shasta is among the best we've every stayed in. It offers a friendly and clean environment. The swimming pool was great fun and the Tree House restaurant is outstanding for breakfast and evening meals.

    « A Beautiful View »

The Tree House is a very comfortable and modern-rustic place to spend a few nights. The views are from the rooms in the main building facing east. We enjoyed sitting on our room patio watching the sun set over the mountain. The rooms are well appointed and clean, a tad smaller perhaps than most BWs. The hotel has coffee on tap mornings in the lobby (a life saver) and a full service dining room. No complaints about it, but we decided on the second day to eat at the original Black Bear Diner, which is just across the street. Most definitely a place to return to, which we in fact plan to do. The parking lot has spaces that are wide enough for any kind of automobile (how rare) Tip: each room has two doors, to the outside and inside of the building, so note which door you leave by and return the same way, and put the service tag on the inside one.

« Outdated rooms, dirty pool and no breakfast »

We like to stay at Best Westerns because they offer complimentary breakfast. Although when I booked the room, the website said breakfast was included, it wasn't. Rooms had mold in bathroom and hair on toilet. Pool was dirty. It's a beautiful property -- what a shame it's not better managed. No one seems to care in the least about the customers there.

    4
    « Great Location »

Its right off the freeway, You have the Black Bear diner next door with the best breakfast in town. The rooms are clean but seem to be outdated a bit, reminded me of a motel 6 sort to say and not that a Motel 6 is bad, but they are pretty basic. The whole place looks very well maintained, The place was pretty booked

    « Good stopping point »

Right off the 5 if you are traveling. Friendly staff. Happy hour in lounge with live music on Fridays. Also a restaurant. Walking distance to town. Beds are comfy and the rooms are clean. theres a spa, pool and workout room.

« Mt. Shasta Best Western Tree House »

Best place to stay if you're visiting Mt. Shasta. Freindly staff. Rooms are very clean. Pets are welcome but they do have rooms that do not allow pets.Location is close to all the shops and Mt. Shasta is visible from most of the rooms.

« Easy on and off Freeway but quiet »

The hotel is very dog friendly and provides an excellent dog area with pick up bags. The restaurant food was excellent. The hotel is also adjacent to a shopping center with a grocery store. We had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms are very large.

this place was great. probably the best hotel in town.. Plenty of rooms. Plenty of parking.. Plenty of great views. After a long day on the mountain I enjoyed the restaurant, and the indoor pool and jacuzzi.

« Great place for solo or family »

Stayed the night for a business trip and was not disappointed. In the category of mid range hotel class, this one was among the best I have stayed. Great pool with large hot, hot tub. Very clean rooms and very nicely updated.

« Everything was good, nothing bad »

Mountain cabin feel. Friendly staff. The restaurant was good for both dinner and breakfast. Free wifi. Had a pool but we didn't use it. Saw that the bar was big and full of people eating, drinking and watching sports, but we didn't use it. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom is a bit dated, but everything was clean and working. We had new carpet in the room and it smelled like it, but t's better than old carpet smell. :) We had room 339 and 332. That whole row of rooms has an awesome view of Mt Shasta.

« Great stop on road trip »

We had a great stay at this hotel, which offered everything we needed for a refreshing stop during a long road trip with kids. The suite with kitchen was very comfortable, spacious, and quiet. The beds were very comfortable. We were able to run the dishwasher for our water bottles and other containers. We also did a load of laundry in the hotel's reasonably priced laundry room. The restaurant exceeded expectations. The food was great (children's and adult's items, bar food and entrees, dinner, and breakfast, local craft beer available). The service was excellent. We even had a narrow view of Mount Shasta. I'm confused about other reviews saying there wasn't a free breakfast. Maybe we pre-paid with our room rate? In any case, we enjoyed the above-average breakfast buffet in the beautiful restaurant. I would have been happy to pay $10 for it. Cozy lobby with fireplace. Would like to return at a different time of year when the town is more lively. My only complaint is that the water in the pool felt very cold. The pool area itself is beautiful and we were really looking forward to a dip. Well, I found it refreshing but the kids refused to get in. They've been spoiled by other pools though, I don't blame the hotel for this! Parents, warn your little ones that it might take a minute to warm up in the pool and I'm sure they'll have a grand old time.

    « Great Hotel »

Awesome hotel, a little expensive but great Hotel. Restaurant is awesome also. Prices are average and food is great. Love the place. Perfect location next to I-5 but no noise from the Freeway. Indoor Pool is great too unless you have an alergy to chlorine, smells very strong.

    « no breakfast »

Very nice motel and rooms, with high ceilings , and timber decor. nice indoor pool. Lovely grounds. appreciated being able to have dog inside- first trip we stayed in a motel with ours. But sign says " Hot breakfast " and then it is not included in stay, as we have had at other Best Westerns. Cost of brekfast in restaurant was $ 10.

« Way overpriced, NO FREE BREAKFAST,thin walls »

The girl at check in only offered to show me the menu for a response to the question about the lack of free breakfast. I stay exclusively at BW, this was by far the worst case of feeling cheated of my money. In Coeur d'Alene you can get a huge room, in a resort town, with a free breakfast AND coupons for the bar, not just a huge room, but a suite for just over $100.00 And for the outdated room, with dark wood doors, a true time machine to the late 80's, seriously the people next to me were not talking loud, the walls are that thin, I feel sorry for them having to hear me snore. And the trains all night long, ALL NIGHT LONG! when asked at checkout how my experience was, I replied "disappointing" and when she asked what was wrong, I listed the neighbors I could hear talking, due to thin walls, the trains all night, and the lack of free breakfast. She replied to thin walls complaint with " I've never heard that complaint before" That one comment finished it for me, please be condescending and talk down to me, your customer, when I have a legit complaint. She could have bought me off with bonus points. After taxes my room was over $170.00 and small.

« Awesome, awesome, awesome - just can't say how awesome this hotel is »

We absolutely loved this hotel. It was our last stop/hotel before heading home after a long drive through the Redwoods to San Fran then back home to Washington. We were beside ourselves for days, even talking about it now - the hotel was just so incredible. We were pretty worn out by the time we hit this place. This area is beautiful. The hotel was so great that we decided to forego any sightseeing. We grabbed an early dinner and stayed at the hotel to relax and unwind. We couldn't believe how awesome the suite was - room 321 - the Redwood room, I believe. This suite was so incredibly priced, but we did get a gov't rate. There were 2 very large rooms, each with a king size bed and a large flat screen TV in each room. This was our first night with king beds during the whole 10 day trip. The bathroom was huge. There was a sink and a counter outside the bathroom where you could get ready. And, the kitchenette was amazing. There were dishes, dishwasher, small fridge w/freezer, microwave, stove, and so much more. The decor of the entire hotel was awesome, looked kind of like a log house. The pool area was incredible. The hot tub was HUGE. I saw some reviews where people complained about the food, but really? There were signs and we even rec'd a call in advance of our stay that the kitchen as being remodeled, so the breakfast menu would be limited. It's a continental breakfast like any other hotel would have and it's FREE. So, I'm not sure why people complain about FREE...because they can? If you don't like FREE food, there's a Black Bear Diner across the parking lot. Their food was incredible - some of the best we've ever had! At any rate, we will be planning a return visit. It is an 8-hour drive for us, so there won't be many. But, if all hotels were this awesome, we'd certainly travel a ton more! I could not find a single thing wrong with this hotel! We all loved it!

« Love Mt. Shasta, love the Tree House! »

I'm a bit biased as I love Mt. Shasta...it is one of my favorite places to visit and the Best Western Plus Tree House Inn makes it even better. I have friends and family in Oregon and Washington and try to stay at the Tree House every time I head north to visit them. The indoor pool and jacuzzi, along with the fitness center make it especially nice for me, as I need bike and pool access to keep my body functioning well. The rooms are always very good and usually great. The free breakfast is the best of any I have ever had. I highly recommend staying at the Mt. Shasta Tree House Inn.

    « Great atmosphere hotel »

Stayed at the Best Western Tree House because they are pet friendly. They charge $20 bucks and we had our Siberian Huskies with us. We only were able to stay one night but the room was beautiful. The quality of the beds were great, they weren't sunken in. The room was beautiful and so was the rest of the place. The landscaping was wonderful. Pleasant to the eye. There's a section where you take your dog to do their business. Overall, a great stay. Also, they provide military discount. We appreciated that.

    « A relaxing stay »

Love this Best Western. Great New York strip steaks in dining room. Comfortable beds. Pool, etc. If you like to sleep with an open window, ask for a second floor room, especially one with a view of Mt. Shasta (if it is clear). First floor room windows are screwed shut for safety from burgers! They offer plug-ins for electric cars. Bring your Tesla!

    3
    « Ok for a Best Western. »

This property is conveniently located near I-5. Room was okay and had updated linens. If you are on the second floor, there is no elevator and you need to carry your luggage up a flight of steps. Restaurant was being renovated so I can't comment on it since there was a limited dinner menu and limited free breakfast choices. All staff were very friendly here.

    5
« Comfortable room, nice Mount Shasta views »

Our second floor room was spacious with vaulted ceilings and had a nice view of Mount Shasta from the window. The room had a strong Aqua Velva smell on entry, but after getting used to that, it was comfortable. Breakfast was standard.

« worth traveling north of Redding »

Awesome Hotel! Would do it again! Free Breakfast selections need work, though :-) We stayed in the redwood room and were very comfortable! Next time we travel through the area from southern California, we will skip the Redding hotels and stay and the Tree House! Thanks.

« Great Value So Far »

As a HH DFL, I stay almost exclusively at Hilton properties. However, this trip we brought our dog so needed to open up my aperture. We paid under $100 for a three bed, two room accommodation with two t rue queens and a California king in the bedroom. Seems quiet so far and the Black Bear Diner is literally around the corner. Substantial portions at a very reasonable price. There's also a large dog area that is open to the woods. I agree that the kitchen having issues precluding the normal full breakfast isn't ideal, but given all he great stuff not worth downgrading to a four.

  • 2
    « Dissappointing breakfast »

The hotel itself was very nice. However, breakfast was a huge disappointment. When I made my reservation, the rate I paid included a full breakfast buffet. This was supposed to include eggs, sausage, etc. However, due to kitchen remodeling, we only received a skimpy continental breakfast. When I brought this up to staff, they explained the reason, but made no attempt to rectify the situation. When paying $200+ for a suite, I'd really expect more for breakfast than a banana, yogurt, and a bunch of sweet carbs. I overheard several other guests complaining about the same issue. I hope they get their kitchen issues figured out pretty quickly.

    3
« Love the rooms and service....disappointed with the food »

We have stayed here many, many times over the years and have always enjoyed our stays. We have no complaints with the staff or the rooms. But this visit we were very disappointed with the food service. Breakfast has always been included in the room rate and it has always included a variety of hot and cold options. We were told they would no longer be offering a free breakfast starting in a few days. The breakfast we did receive did not have the usual hot items we were expecting. We placed an order to go for dinner at the restaurant and were told they were offering an abbreviated menu. I went down to pick it up at the time I was told and had to wait an additional 20 min for the order. The bar area was littered with dirty glasses and the staff seemed to be overworked. We will be looking at other options on our next trip to the area.

« Loved this hotel - Looking forward to a return visit! »

We absolutely LOVED this hotel - so much that we were in awe the whole time and can't wait to plan a return visit. We had the 2-room suite w/2 king beds, and a kitchenette. It was incredible. Even the kids were thrilled...in fact, we fought over who was going to get the coolest room! Everything about the hotel was cool - the Redwood interior/exterior, the pool, the biggest jacuzzi we've ever seen, and the decor was so cute (rocks, Redwood, bears, etc.). The view of Mt. Shasta was also very pretty! This was our last stop on the way home from an exhausting trip. We decided to forego any sightseeing and stayed at the hotel to relax before our long drive home the next day. It was the best night of sleep I'd had in almost 10 days. I would highly suggest this hotel. It was the best hotel on our entire trip. The location was great. We had a great dinner at the Black Bear Diner adjacent to the hotel. Rite Aid and The Coffee Brake were across the street. And, we got gas at the adjacent gas station before heading home. High ratings for this hotel!!

    « Perfect for a quiet night »

Bad. The restaurant was closed therefore no hot breakfast was served, slightly disappointing since it was included. Good. Clean room, nice pool and hot tub setup. Quiet evening. Compared to what we saw in the area, this place was the best choice.

    3
    « Poor Breakfast »

This motel had the worst Breakfast Buffet of any Best Western that we have been at. The only protein was cold hard boiled eggs. The only fruit was canned pineapple. The only cereal was raisin bran. There is a restaurant close, but you would need to get the room at a much lower price to make it a value.

    4
« Staying comfortable in Mount Shasta »

We stopped at this Best Western on our road trip up northern CA and Oregon. This is a specially convenient place to stop and the hotel has very clean rooms, a great ambience with all the wood structure and is well positioned. The view of Mount Shasta is great and with the access to trails around the lake and others . Lower level rooms are very accessible and I recommend to stay in building 2 if you want more silence. As with so many California cities, please be aware that trains pass frequently (4 times in the night ) and even if the tracks are not adjacent, one still can hear the train passing. Things that could be improved : air conditioning systems is noisy and the bathrooms will need a renovation soon (they were clean though). The restaurant was not fully operational but the limited dinner options were fine. The included breakfast is a continental and they didn't have other options. Reception staff was great and helpful.

    4
    « Shasta stay »

My stay at the Best Western Plus Tree House in Mt Shasta was very good. The room was clean, the restaurant had very good food, and the complimentary breakfast was very good. If I had any downside it would be that the heater/air conditioner was a bit noisy at night.

    5
    « BW Stay »

Great place to stay. Great food (Breakfast/ Dinner) and scenery of Mt Shasta. The room was located both outside and inside access, which made it easy to get to their restaurant. It seemed like a country log cabin. Parking was very easy, due to wrap around access. Check out was very easy.

« Great stay and exceptional rooms »

Staff was pleasant and accommodating. We were traveling with 2 older kids and wanted a little extra "space" so they gave us the Cedar Suite #331. We also had #332 which was adjoining and that gave us all privacy and our own beds. The Cedar Suite has 2 bedrooms each with King bedding. It also has an updated kitchen with burner, micro and fridge. It is dog friendly too--we felt like we had a little luxury after a few nights of motels. The rooms are themed in an "Up North" or log cabin setting and had vaulted ceilings. Absolutely beautiful. #332 has a small balcony overlooking Mt. Shasta. The restaurant was good but if you want the Trip Advisor best in area "Maruti" is great. From the hotel you can walk to a larger grocery store and movie theatre. Breakfast at hotel was great and offered two varieties of eggs that were the kids favorites. The pool/spa were also well appointed and clean. Small but good area to exercise dogs. We all LOVED this hotel and would go back.

    2
    « Not a good value »

We stayed at this hotel based on the great reviews, but unfortunately we found it to be old, dated, way too expensive, a crowded, noisy motel next to the highway, the food at the restaurant is poor. Swimming pool was great, best part of our stay.

    « Majestic little village »

We went to the Shasta Nordic center to cross country ski one day and snow shoe the next day,We spent the night at the best western plus tree house. The rooms were very nice and there were lots of amenities. We enjoyed the hot tub and indoor pool after a day on the snow.We also had a great steak dinner at the motel restaurant. The complimentary breakfast was also better the usual free breakfasts,The only thing that was a little annoying was the motel was close to the train tracks and we were woken up by the train blowing it horn about three times during the night.

    4
« stay for the hotel, stay away from the restarant. »

The indoor pool and tub were great! Close to the ski park. That being said, I highly recommend going across the street to Round Table Pizza for food. I have to honestly say that I wouldn't even eat the free breakfast here unless you eat the cereal. They really need to teach the chefs what a spice or at least salt and pepper is. Arbys has better prime rib and doesn't cost $26.00. I dont know if the "chefs" cant cook or are forced to cook with only a microwave but there wasn't one thing that was edible.

« Half way home with Tesla charging »

    « Birthday Celebration »

We attended a birthday party for a cousin and this motel met all of our needs plus. Lower level with exterior door was perfect for senior citizens. « our treet house experience »

this hotel was conveniently located right off the freeway. And the atmosphere was cozy with the log cabin feel. The dinners and breakfast was delicious. My only complaint was that I could not find the elevator. My husband walks with a cane and it was difficult for him. Difficult for me lugging the heavy suitcase cart up the ramps.

The Tree House, Mount Shasta was a Ten out of Ten Stars. Excellent everything... Staff, Service, and Room. Couldn't have asked for more, and right next door to the Original Black Bear Diner if you needed to get away, but the restaurant/lounge was outstanding also... Total Awesomeness!

« Great place to stay »

This hotel is clean, comfortable, and friendly. It has an indoor pool and hot tub, fitness room and guest laundry. After a day of skiing and your stuff is all wet the laundry comes in handy! My kids love the pool and having a restaurant on site is great when you are tired. The employees are friendly and accommodating. The rooms have a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and blow dryer.

« GREAT VALUE AND FUN »

We choose Best western because we travel with our Bernese Mountain Dog. She has always been welcomed at Best Westerns. This hotel has a beautiful courtyard with a spectacular water feature. I recommend a room on the first floor so you can walk out onto the courtyard. We were in Mount Shasta to ski and with the bar, the restaurant, the spa and breakfast provided, we never left the hotel from Apres ski to breakfast.

« Hotel in a One Horse Town »

This is a good hotel for the tiny town of Mt. Shasta, and it has the amenities that busy snowboarders want: a nourishing, filling breakfast, an indoor, heated pool, and nice jacuzzi for soaking in after a day of skiing and snowboarding. It gets crowded and hectic on the weekend, so book early, and check to make sure your reservations are correct. It is just a short distance to Mt. Shasta snowboarding, and right across the street there is a movie theater, pizza parlor and grocery store-truly convenient for busy families and groups.

« Better than your average motel »

This place is quite large, a veritable labyrinth, but with a very large indoor swimming pool and reasonable exercise room. The rooms themselves are larger than ordinary, and the twin queen-sized beds are a bargain. Showers are good. Rooms include refrig and microwave, desk with comfortable chair for using the free Wi-Fi. The included buffet breakfast is surprisingly good, with choices of hot entrees, the usual breads and coffee, and an unusual DIY waffle iron (which produces a pretty tasty waffle). Breakfast is a definite winner. Restaurant is adequate, with the trout being the best entree, but it closes at 9pm. There is food in the bar till 10pm, but from a different, much reduced, menu.

« Desert heat in December for a price that'll drill multiple holes in your pocket !!! »

Priced at $220 per night for a rat hole of a room there's little good that can be said about this place. But since we spent our New Year 2016 here, I will attempt to be positive! LOCATION - Located just 5 minutes walk from the downtown at the foot hills of Mt Shasta, making it a prime location for tourists. ROOM - Very small room for the price posted! It was equipped with Microwave and AC (which broke down on Day 1). SERVICE - AC broke down on our first night there. Initially there was some hesitation from the staff at front desk to look into it. After 2 visits to the front desk, someone did come to our room and sort out the situation. We really appreciated this considering our room had reached an almost boiling state at 10:30 pm! PARKING - Plenty of unreserved parking slots. FOOD - Complimentary breakfast is served with a decent spread. There was complimentary champagne served at the dawn of 2016! Staff however could be more courteous! WIFI - Complimentary and Good speed.

We searched for so many hotels for our 1st trip to Mt. Shasta, and we thank god that we picked Best Western Plus Tree House for our stay. The other places we checked out before coming here were quite far from the city here, which btw is very cozy and awesome experience. All in all - great service, great location, great rooms and great stay!! ??????

« Relaxing Stay at Tree House »

When I entered the hotel, I immediately noticed the lovely smell of wood from their sturdy cedar (or pine) doors, and the cozy fire in the fireplace lobby. The hotel is set up like a motel, with parking right outside your door, which we loved since we could easily carry our items inside. (There is also a 2nd floor, and we were asked which we preferred). The room was clean and cozy, and there was an extra sink in addition to the one in the bathroom, which is very nice whenever you have more than 2 people. Another door leads to the interior of the hotel, and the lobby, restaurant, etc. We really enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. There was a breakfast buffet which was satisfactory. They did have good scrambled eggs, but they could use a better toaster. My bagel was undercooked or burned each time. All of the employees were very pleasant to us. There is lovely view of Mt Shasta and other mountains. We did hear the train at night...but I like trains, so this was fine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this rustic hotel, and will return in the future.

This Best Western was clean, comfortable, and quiet. One of the cleanest rooms we've ever stayed in. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, on site bar, and a great breakfast was included. Only complaint would be the small fitness room and service in the bar was slow. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing employee: Do not know her name, but she was housekeeping on our floor (room135). Blonde hair below shoulders....middle age... Not only was she very polite, but she also recovered my iPad mini I left in the room and had me contacted that same day... And more importantly she helped our autistic son find his way back to our room when he got turned around. So very thankful for her being there! Would like to know her name to send her a thank you. We stay at the Treehouse every time we come to Mt Shasta and until our home in McCloud is finished we consider the Treehouse our home away from home. Thank you & please inform of the name of the housekeeper so we can send a thank you to the hotel addressed to her. Sherrie Palmer O'Brien BW Rewards member

« Clean, Comfortable and Reasonably Priced »

The Best Western Plus Tree House in Mount Shasta was another functional, overnight stay for us as we followed Highway 89 south towards Lassen Volcanic National Park. The drive from Crater Lake across the Oregon/California border was scenic but the haze and smoke from the Californian bush fires obscured the distant views of Mount Shasta I'd read so much about and hoped to photograph for myself. After stopping at a local bakery for a quick bite to eat we drove up Mount Shasta itself as far as the road lead, to the Panther Meadows trail head. We spent a few hours hiking and taking photos on what was quite an easy trail and one I highly recommend. The drive up this huge mountain is very scenic and the views, despite the haze, were incredible. There certainly is a power and energy in the landscape that you just have to tune into and experience for yourself. The Best Western is located just off the I5 on the right as you are driving into town so you won't miss it. Checking in at the hotel was fairly standard for this kind of accomodation - polite and to the point - though not as friendly as other places we stayed. The hotel is actually quite large with a number of buildings branching off of the main hub along with a bar, restaurant and fantastic pool area. We booked a Standard room with a King Bed that was up two flights of stairs on the top floor of our particular building. The room was huge, clean and really well appointed (with a fridge, microwave and complimentary wifi). The bed was surprisingly comfortable and powerful aircon kept us nice and cool (it was a a really warm day). Mount Shasta is a fairly compact town with everything in walking distance from the hotel. There is a supermarket across the road and we had dinner at the (original) Black Bear Diner up the street. The food was great and the service was fantastic. If you do plan on dining here come early. It got very busy very quickly with a healthy mix of tourists and locals alike. A breakfast buffet was included in our rate and comprised a good mix of cereals, pastries and cooked items. We particularly enjoyed the fun ?do if yourself? waffle machine. All in all, if you are road tripping the Best Western Plus Treehouse is a clean, comfortable and reasonably priced choice for an overnight stay. (Next Stop: Lassen Volcanic National Park)

Great place to stay and unwind from a long day snowboarding, they have a wonderful hot tub and pool. There is two restaurants located inside the hotel, makes it very easy to get something to eat and relax, cant wait to come back!

Thanks to Best Western for updating their system and blocking off a few rooms for walk-ins and opening them up at 7pm right when we stopped. The sign said full house, but I made my wife double check and that's when she found out about the system upgrade. Again, thank you for having a room for our family.

« Great Place to Stay! »

This Best Western is located just off I 5 in Mount Shasta City. It is also just a couple blocks from the center of town. The location is great. The hotel is large and almost sprawled out over many different wings with a split level design. You can see why they call it the treehouse. It has a fun mountain cabin decor. The rooms are spacious an reasonably updated. The service was great and there was a better-than-average free breakfast. The indoor heated pool is a treat! The floor plan is a little wacky and there are lots of stairs, so if you don't like hauling your bags up stairs, get a first floor room. Ask for a room with a mountain view. The mountain is amazing!

« Beautiful setting and Fabulous Food!! »

Choosing to not drive through the pass in the dark, we pulled into Mt. Shasta. Googled a Best Western and found this gem. The 2 queen bed room was oversized with comfortable beds, a lodgy feel, 2 sinks and comfortable chairs. Breakfast the next morning was fabulous! Hot tub also big and hot. Front desk was very helpful and kind. Easy access to freeway.

« Reliable BW Plus quality »

The 1 King plus 1 queen room worked out fantastically for us. The queen bed was in a separate room (with a door) so we could put the kids to bed without any disturbance. The main bedroom had a spacious sitting area and a second entrance/exit that led to the inner courtyard. I can imagine it would be lovely to sit there in summer. The breakfast area was large and does give off the log cabin vibe. There was no area where we could place our used glasses/bowls and plates though. I'm quite happy to help bus my table so that the next party can be seated quickly. Nonetheless, the breakfast lady (is there a more elegant title?) was quick to clear the tables. Besides the eggs and sausages, there were tortillas and salsa and cheese to make your own breakfast burrito. Minor point- there were not enough serving tongs/spoons so that used to scoop the cheese, was also used to scoop the tomatoes. My daughter has a dairy allergy so I am sensitive to cross contamination of food. The only fresh fruit options were apples and bananas. When the milk ran out and the coffee needed a refill, the breakfast lady responded immediately. I just wish we could have helped her out a little with those dirty dishes! Front desk staff was helpful in pointing me to ACE to get a sled last minute for some snow fun. Overall a solid stay, would recommend.

« Pet friendly and cozy mountain style »

I love a hotel that multiple pets and blends in with the natural setting of the area. Tree House offers both. The aesthetics of the hotel are lovely, warm, inviting and clean. The staff is kind, open and helpful. Their pet policy is open minded...we have 2.5 dogs b/c one is a little guy. :) Best Western is pet friendly and pet welcoming! There's a large, comfortable bar/lounge and a really good breakfast with more than the standard fare.

« A wonderful surprise in Shasta City »

We stayed just a night as we were driving through due to a very sad event that had brought us down to CA. What a lift this room was! King size bed, top floor with vaulted wood ceilings and looking at Mt Shasta, so close, right out our window in the morning. LOVELY! The bed was fantastic, so many comfortable pillows, and the shower was just what I needed that night, along with quality shampoo/conditioner. Even the carpet was brand new and plush. I wish I knew the name of the wonderful young lady who gave us that room at what I think was a very reasonable rate, the night before. Breakfast in the morning was very nice as well. Definitely a place we will return to when we're out for fun and hopefully no more sad trips.

« A no brainier but needs love »

I think whether you like or dislike this hotel will be based on your thresholds. I'm not a picky traveler just require the basics. I stayed in room 204 as I had my dog with me. I REALLY liked this hotel/motel. It's a hybrid since there was two doors in my room; one that goes outside (right to my car) and the other to an interior hallway. It made staying with dog easy. Two food options on site with really good food made my late arrival easy. Room was a solid B. Updated paint and furniture, but clearly the owners were dealing with a limited budget and an older building. This is not a new building so don't expect it to be that-it looks like an old Bavarian style ski lodge. Pros-two restaurants on site good food. Great layout. Cons-the HVAC "system" is old school, loud and can't possibly be energy efficient it cycles on and off constantly. Advice to owners. Work with the great hotel/motel you have and don't skimp on the details like the HVAC system. You are clearly sitting on a gold mine as the place was packed and there are several options nearby.

« Welcome respite for weary travellers »

Arrived about around five o'clock after a long day driving in winter road conditions. We were greeted by friendly staff, a roaring fire in the two-sided fireplace and beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. The dining room was warm and the fireplace again was lovely. It would improve ambience if the lighting was a little more subdued. The dinner menu offers a good variety of dinner items. It is certainly worth noting that this hotel offers a large and beautifully heated indoor swimming pool and hot tub. A really lovely treat on a cold, snowy night. Complimentary breakfast the following morning was offered in the dining room, which gave it a nicer feel than the typical breakfast rooms one usually experiences. A full hot breakfast was offered for those who wanted it.

« Good food and accomodations »

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the included full breakfast. The 2 Dinners we had also were excellent. I had the Shrimp Scampi one night and Chicken Marsala the other both ver good. The rooms are nice with refrigerator ,microwave, coffee maker, iron and board, blow dryer. The only problem we had was the noisy heater which cycled on and off every minute and the curtain didn't close all the way and let light in. Both were resolved by turning off the heater and wrapping the curtain around the door knob. Would definitely recommend staying here.

« Nice stay, all the comforts of home! »

Had a great stay, convenient to restaurants, stores, etc. (actually pretty much convenient to the whole City as it is not very big). The room had a refrigerator and microwave with is great when you are staying a week. The hotel reminds you of a log cabin, very cozy during the winter months. There was usually a fire burning in the fireplace. The hotel restaurant was good, very friendly staff. Had a steak which had a lot of fat on it, kind of disappointed. Overall the stay was very good and I would differently stay there again!

« Nice and easy to get to »

We often stay at Best Westerns and love to compare them. This one was near the top. It has that "out in the woods" feel yet the rooms are spacious and comfortable. It appears that there has been a major renovation here and it has been done well. Our room was pet friendly and I love when the pet friendly room is not the worst room in the facility. There was a nice courtyard for our view and they did have a pool and hot tub but we did not use these. The restaurant attached was really good with the nice ambiance of the wood burning fireplace and friendly staff. As Best Western does there was a buffet breakfast included and it was great, warm and cold choices. This was just a one night stop over for us but really easy to find off of the I-5 and easy to get back to carry on home.

« Friendly service providers, clean and a good restaurant »

This is a delightful stop along the I-5 Highway. Beautiful view of MT Shasta and a lovely setting. The rooms are very clean and quiet. The restaurant is exceptional. We had a steak that was great! Cathy our server was exceptional. Overall, I would recommend stopping here for a relaxing overnight or two.

« Very nice for a motel; interesting decor; pretty good food, but hidden costs »

The Tree House was perfectly fine, for what it is and for its price. Probably one of the better places to stay in the Shasta area. The price tag for our stay ($200+ per day) was a bit much for a motel; even a very nice one. The compensation was a free, full-buffet breakfast each day, including fresh scrambled eggs, pancakes, and breakfast meats. Beware, if you bring a pet, there is an unpublished extra cost of $20 per day. Also - a very nice pool and spa.

    « Nice Dinner »

Enjoyable restaurant. Great ambience and fairly decent food. Lovely warm fireplace. The prime rib was tasty the fish could have been a bit fresher. A good place for a date night. Nice location, right off I-5 in Mt. Shasta.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Very Impressed with this hotel. The breakfast dining room was great with a fire going and nice mountain views. We liked our room and wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the pool and restaurant. the hotel fits the area just right. Hope to come back.

    « Pot smoke »

Been to this motel several times, after eating lunch I took a stroll down the hallways enjoying the view, noticed a odd smell coming from a couple rooms up stairs around my room 135 like skunk I was not aware after reading then sign that says no smoking, that pot smoking was allowed at such a nice motel. When I walked to my daughter in laws room 217 there again was the arroma of skunk. Over all if pot smoking will be continuing after we spent so much money here my family and I will not be returning. Breakfast was not up to its par very stale and the service is slow, my husband ordered a chill dog and I ordered sweet potatoe fires. Both were cold and the chilli dog was ordered with out onion and came out with onion. They just picked the onion off and gave it back seeing there were still pieces of onion on it, took about 2 hours for us to get are dinner. I'm very not happy and will not be telling anyone of this place is have better luck staying at a cheep motel at least you can expect trash there. Not when your paying 200+ a night for a motel

« Best Place to stay in Mt. Shasta, CA »

« Not up to usual standard »

This hotel is usually a great place to stay. I have stayed here for four years now. The three house theme used to be a little too much for me but I warmed to it over time. I love the guestroom renovations. It really elevated the property. This last stay was very very disappointing however. In the off season, I would think that companies would WANT people to be satisfied with the service, internet and food quality. They are all easy ways to ensure return business. The rude Front Desk Agent, impossibly poor internet service and cold, stale breakfast items will make me think twice about returning. I will definitely research other options next trip.

« Very confortable stay with great friendly service! »

I visited Mt Shasta by myself on a hiking trip and stayed at the Best Western Plus Tree top hotel in Mt Shasta. It is conveniently located right off of I 5 and was relatively inexpensive paying approximately $100 per night pre taxes. I had a large double queen size bed room with vaulted cathedral ceiling which greatly helped with noise elimination from the rooms next door or hallways. It was very quiet and never heard my neighbors. The beds were very comfortable and shower was great with hot water and good flow. The room had a large plasma TV with about 40 stations including movie channels for use. There is a restaurant on the premise that has a bar and offers lunch and dinner. I had dinner two nights in the restaurant (once at the bar) and salmon was excellent and the burger was good. Included in my hotel room stay was free hot breakfast "all you can eat" buffet that included fresh eggs, sausage, country ham and potatoes, waffles along with the standard staples of bagels, muffins, toast, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea and juice. The breakfast was excellent and worth the price of stay alone. The staff was very friendly and helpful informing me of local sites and attractions to do and see, recommended restaurants and were helpful in printing out my airline boarding pass. I am sure there is other lodging in the are that may be cheaper but I highly recommend staying here as to the accommodations mentioned. The hotel is also secure where one needs a card to get into on side doors other the main door. It is also pet friendly if that is needed. It also has an indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center that I used. The hotel is in very good shape and very worth the stay.

« home away from home »

This was our second stay at the Mount Shasta Best Western in the space of about a month. For us it's a getaway from the tensions of San Francisco. I think we would make it a monthly visit if we could manage it. The moniker "treehouse" is well-chosen in our case. This is a treehouse with a difference. We just love it.

« GREAT PLACE, NICE PEOPLE »

Very friendly place, great front desk people who followed thru and made sure that we got the room we needed for our dog. Love the open courtyard for dogs and just to hang out and sit and enjoy the quiet time. Location is great and you don't hear the freeway nearby.

« Best hotel in town »

Great view of Mt. Shasta. On-site restaurant and Black Bear diner adjacent. Located by grocery and right off highway, only 3 blocks from downtown shops. Very nice large indoor pool and hottub. Small fitness facility has excellent treadmill and elliptical equipment. Nice size in-room refrigerators and flat screen televisions. The bedding quality was very good and comfortable. Some rooms have balconies. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

    « Cosy Hotel »

I love the hotel's cozy setting, the interiors are like a giant tree house. But unfortunately it doesn't have a lift (elevator) so if you have huge luggage, you probably need some helps. I love the breakfast, and for a change no styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery like we had in Arizona area.

« Big Bend Natl Pk road trip »

Overall the hotel itself was good. Staff was helpful and room was clean. Somehow the decor fit the area. A lot of wood used in hallway and room walls. This was a mountain view king room and the view from the balcony was great! Mt Shasta seemed very close. another plus was having 2 sinks (2 separate vainities).

The place was lovely--clean, the free breakfast was excellent, we did not use their restaurant since the price was a little pricey. The room was furnished with a small refrigerator and a small microwave. The towels were plush and the soaps and shampoos were of excellent quality.

« Clean and comfortable stay »

We stayed in a double queen room for one night while passing through and visiting the Redwood National Forest. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The internet worked well in our second floor room. The breakfast was included, but we did not partake. We did have dinner in the restaurant downstairs, and although it was very busy and the food was a bit slow to arrive - it was delicious and the servers were excellent. There is a casino on-site - just across from the lobby and shares the same structure as the restaurant - but we did not visit it. The location was very good and the price was reasonable.

    « Fine place »

I have no complaints. Clean, kind of white-bread, definitely a perfectly fine place to stay. We stayed here on our way to Yosemite from up north, and it was a completely reasonable place to stay for a night. I wouldn't call it a destination, but I would stay there again if I needed a place to stay on my way somewhere.

« Great Place to Stay »

Wonderful hotel to stay in when coming to Mt Shasta area...we stayed here last year as well and really enjoyed it. Very professional staff. Very nice pool and nice size spa also. Treehouse theme is loved by the kids. Slightly more expensive here as we rented a suite - but it was well worth it! Close walking distance to a good restaurant and grocery also.

« Maybe the nicest Best Western yet! »

The Best Western was so easy to find and it is one of the most attractive I've seen/stayed in. Lots of polished wood, clean, welcoming. I had a nice room with a courtyard patio. Enjoyed sitting outside for a drink and relaxing before dinner.

    « Treehouse excellence »

Front desk staff is excellent. Housekeeping is very accommodating and helpful, too. Handicapped room is well designed (espeically the bathroom, which can vary greatly from hotel to hotel). The only improvement sugguestion would be the addition of handicapped parking spaces close to the door near the handicapped room. Otherwise, the room is pretty well set up and it's one of the best set ups for us (we frequently stay at Treehouse because we have family in the area). Breakfasts are really nice because they have a restaurant kitchen (so no reconstituted eggs!).

    « it's called plus for a reason »

This is a deluxe hotel with a down-to-earth feeling. The deluxe experience can be measured by the quality of amenities and of service. The amenities here are up to snuff, while the level of service is exceptional--a match for good Asian or European hotels, and far above most of those in America. We look forward to our next visit.

    « A nice hotel »

A Nice hotel, friendly staff, rooms were nice and clean. Decent wifi. You can get your meal delivered to your room, well you have to go and get it and bring it back. Nice service. No problems with anything here. We would stay again

    « Impressive property »

This is a bit of a nowhere-town, but it has a bit of everything. And it has a huge something in the BW Tree House. It's a pretty impressive place, and the rooms are probably the largest I've seen in any Best Western. The tallest too, with a vaulted ceiling. The place was clean and well done, though I'll say that the town is kind of an awkward location. It's not really near anything of interest (we drove from Lassen, a good 2 hrs away). It was definitely a nice place to stay though.

    « Nice »

This is a nice, very clean hotel. Staff are helpful. Beds comfortable. We paid $191 for a king bed room which I felt was expensive. They have a large indoor pool which had a strong chlorine smell. The restaurant made a good burger.
