"Won't be back "
eileena455, 24 Mars 2024

Arrival you are asked to print card with 50.00 taken deposit no choice staff rude over powering smell of aftershave knocks you out when you walk in the door. Charged 3 different prices at bar. For same drink they just make it up. Breakfast black pudding not cooked sausage tasteless best bit was bacon Won't bother going back

"A good base"
david l, 10 Mars 2024

Stayed at the Lothersdale as our football team were playing Morecambe so we found it as an ideal base.If iam to be honest I do not think my girlfriend would have been happy if I had taken her here but great for a lads weekend.Got to say the staff were ever so friendly from the bar staff to the very helpfull lady on reception.

"Not likely to visit again"
judith464, 05 Octobre 2023

Average standard good location on the promenade Friendly helpful staff Room very small with no wardrobe or drawers and bathroom well appointed but tiny Food of acceptable standard but as we were a coach party breakfast a bit chaotic

"Shame about the bathroom"
Jenny S, 28 Septembre 2023

Booked a superior twin room with sea view. Room was very nice and view lovely. The downside was the bathroom. Quite the smallest I have seen in a hotel. The shower was very dated also. The door to bathroom was a bi-fold as a normal door would not have fitted. Spoilt the experience for us. The breakfast was really good.

"Best avoided"
Coastal619033, 23 Septembre 2023

Best avoided horrible receptionist unhelpful and rude. Not able to check in and leave bags before 3pm. We're told “ to go away and come back at 3pm”. Had to specify a time you wanted breakfast so we didn't bother. Room was small and smelt stale. Cleanliness was ok ish plenty of refreshments in room plus hairdryer and iron. Ok if you are coming for a one night and you want no frills and no customer care.

"One Night Stay For Work"
Tinca24LL, 17 Septembre 2023

This isn't a bad hotel, far from it but: - 1. I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work (which as I was there for work is annoying) 2. At check-in the hotel took £50 on my card for extras which is fine (standard practice). When I checked out I received a paper copy VAT invoice (so I can claim back from work) for £81.95 which is also fine. However my credit card statement shows a transaction of £131.95 - I know this is an admin error but it's just hassle and time-consuming to have to ring them up and get my refund. It's just a pain in the backside that I could do without. Breakfast was good but the poor lady serving front-of-house was so miserable it was funny (well, I found it funny at least). We all have bad days, but she must have been having an absolutely awful day (and it wasn't even 8am, lol)

"Great stay"
NorthStar19529272842, 13 Septembre 2023

Stopped for a night here. All staff super friendly. Whole hotel was spotless looked like it had recently undergone a major refurbishment. The bedroom was lovely bathroom super. The elevated patio area was lovely for a drink overlooking Morecambe Bay. Only downside was. We had to dine out for our evening meal and breakfast the following morning as they had no vegan options on the menu

"fine stay"
rintintin1111, 10 Septembre 2023

Stayed one night as going to see a band , check in easy and friendly , room absolutely fine , everything clean , was a fan in room which was a bonus as a hot night , was also iron , ironing board, hairdryer , tea / coffee making facilities would definitely stay again

"over nighter"
DOCKER52, 23 Août 2023

having spent a night at tiffanys in blackpool we chanced a night at this best western and what a difference. The staff were excellent and attentive, the breakfast was cooked for each individual and not served from a baine marie. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning in the room.

"Expected more!!"
O6571FZpaulc, 11 Août 2023

Very basic room, however very clean. The problem being the paper thin walls, the customer above us snored loudly which very annoying , plus every floor board creaked. The breakfast was excellent as was the service and views of Morecambe Bay. A little overpriced in my opinion.

"A great visit to morecombe"
643sandra, 30 Juillet 2023

Stayed for 2nights in a sea view room from arrival to departure we had a great stay. Margaret on reception was excellent. Pete from the restaurant was very knowledgable and gave us great advise on places to visit even took the time re the bus times and routes.we ate both nights in the restaurant food was very reasonably priced and a nice choice. Very pleasant waiting staff. The sunsets and views of the bay from balcony a delight to behold. Well worth another visit will stay again Thankyou all keep up the good work xx Hope the doughnut was nice Julie.

"Not great"
A2809TLpeterh, 14 Juillet 2023

Booked this as working the weekend in the area, noise from next door room is unbearable can hear the guy on the phone plain as day, obviously no sound proofing and also banging and noise from hotel working is still me thing I have never come across in any hotel to this level but not due to guests. Will not be staying here again, so much for a peaceful night after a long day working.

"Lovely room sea view food verygood nice selection of wines all il"
suesiedev58, 08 Juillet 2023

Lovely room bar and dinner. Staff very helpful and jolly. Had a room witj a sea view which was visited by a seagull who sat on window sill added to experience we named it steven as in steven seagull

"This was NOTba good stay!!!"
Margaret D, 05 Juillet 2023

This was NOT a good stay.!! We were offered a standard room for 1 night or executive room for the 3 nights we required. So we booked the latter. Reception staff very warm and friendly. The room was definitely NOT executive.it was quite small and as at the back, looking up close to another wall, it was not very light. There was a large pink stain on dirty looking carpet, bed was so atrociously made that we had to strip it and remake before sleeping. The bed itself was very old and saggy. Decor was very tired. Not much storage. The tiny en suite had nowhere to put own toiletries. Although ad says free parking, we had to pay £10 a day for parking space at.hotel. My wife does not eat b/fast but asked if she could pay for a coffee while I ate mine. This was not possible. Being a Best Western we had thought it would be of a good standard. Altogether, not a pleasant stay. We were on a long holiday and stayed at 8 places in total. This was the most expensive and of the lowest standard. Other places far outshone this hotel and were cheaper. We do not recommend this hotel .

"Poor service and unaccommodating"
tullyp, 01 Juillet 2023

Had a function here and it was grim. Food was ok but not enough and it was take away too early. We asked if it could be boxed up to take home but we were told that was not allowed. We asked if the air conditioning could be turned up but we're told no one could reach, we we're not allowed to open a door to cool the place. We were not allowed to play background music; that was only for functions. 50 people in a function room didn't count. I would never go back or recommend it.

"Disappointing"
Margaret J, 24 Juin 2023

The bathroom was the size of a cupboard and the wash basin the size of a shoe box. It took 2 hours for the evening meal to be served. The food for dinner was mostly o.k. apart from the garlic mushrooms which was more like soup. The selection at breakfast was poor, the fried eggs undercooked, no scrambled or hash browns. Again the service was very slow.

"Family separated for wake, very disappointing"
Heather F, 25 Janvier 2023

We weren't expecting the cleanest hotel or most luxury experience however this hotel still did not meet expectations. We requested to change room as it smelt very strongly of smoke and being asthmatic I was unable to cope with this. The receptionist told me that they were fully booked and could not give us any other room. After mentioning this to our family members we were staying with we thought we would go back and ask again, even if we had to pay to upgrade. Then suddenly because we had now got my parents-in-law with me they took us seriously. We were swiftly given another room, this one was clean and didn't smell of smoke. Only downside was it was a jack and Jill room, our side of the lock was broken. Meaning the strangers in the room next door could enter whenever. Because of the response of the first query we didn't feel we could mention this to the staff again, so just put a chair against the door. We came as a party of 12 for a family funeral so we're in quite a fragile state but the made us feel more of a nuisance than a valued customer. When we asked for a breakfast table with us all together they told us we couldn't as they were fully booked so we had to come at separate times (8:00AM, 8:30AM and 9:00AM). We then asked if it would be possible to book a table for dinner and they agreed we could have a shared table but only if we preordered extremely early. The bar was never tended so we couldn't get drinks when needed aswell. Many little problems, overall led to a negative experience.

"Stressful stay - Avoid if there is a function"
loujjarman, 13 Décembre 2022

We booked two interconnecting rooms for a family stay and unfortunately one of the rooms was absolutely not fit for purpose. The primary use of a hotel room is rest which was impossible for the first night due to booming music coming from the function room. As a result we were left with a terrified 4 yr old and a baby that required contestant soothing. We were not made aware of function prior to or on arrival, if we were given an option we would have selected alternative room. It is the hotel's responsibility to communicate clearly. I have addressed concerns with the hotel and have been advised that all bedrooms and the function rooms comply with noise regulations and specifically that as the music stopped at midnight it should have been ok. Few children requiring the facilities of a family room go to sleep at midnight. If the rooms meet standards, acceptable noise is appalling and the hotel need to take responsibility and need to look after their customers appropriately. I will be pursing this; for the sake of customer satisfaction and cannot believe such a chain will leave customers this unhappy.

"Comfortable-ish"
Alison B, 12 Novembre 2022

We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting my daughter at uni. It's a nice location, walking distance of the main bit of Morecambe and right on the river front. We arrived very late and there was another guest taking ages to check in so we did the self-check in. This was very easy. But the downside was that when we got to the room we discovered there was no information about the wi-fi code. I had to go back down to reception. By which time the night shift receptionist had disappeared. I had to ring the bell several times before he came out. He did not seem happy to be asked to do his job. In contrast, all the day shift people we met were lovely and friendly. The room itself was a bit tired and in need of some attention. And the walls were very thin. We heard everything from next door and in the corridors, which creaked every time someone walked along them. The bed was nice though, as was the shower.

"Terrible"
Lippylou8, 05 Novembre 2022

Would never stay in this hotel again .the smell of people smoking drugs was so strong and it was coming into our room through the air vents . The night porter came to our room and his words were ..This Stinks ... When complaints procedure was followed the manager gave up 5000 reward points ..no explanation or apology.. Bad management skills .

"Never got to the hotel because I've got covid. Couldn't change the booking. Disgusting customer service."
Bexbot, 28 Septembre 2022

I am so ill with covid, I've rung up three times to try and change my booking. They can hear how ill I am on the phone. Their customer service is terrible. We come to Morecambe a lot but we'll NEVER stay here again.

"Disappointed Rugby"
wobbly_walker, 23 Septembre 2022

We were given a dark dreary room on the ground floor. It was cold and we had to ask for the heating to be put on each night. On our second night no hot water for bath or shower. Could not get BBC1 and 2 on the TV, complained but nothing done. I paid extra for a Garden Room I felt that was a huge exaggeration, there was just a patio that was of no use to us. There was no sea view.

"Brilliant find!"
Melemaloo, 22 Septembre 2022

Stayed in the hotel with 3 members of my bridal party the night before my wedding to get ready in and also for 1st night. Staff was welcoming from the get go, even escourting hairstylist and mua to our room. Beautiful views over morecambe bay. Rooms are modern, clean with plenty of space and the beds are so comfortable!

"Short stay"
Keith T, 20 Septembre 2022

Can't comment on much as we didn't eat there as we were only staying 1 night as we going to a function but the check in/out was fine and with friendly staff. The room was clean and had everything we needed with a comfortable Bed and plenty of hot water in the small but nice Bathroom. There was ample parking straight opposite in the council run Car park at a reasonable price (free with a blue badge) so would not hesitate to stay again and try full board.

"Very last minute booking but very pleasant hotel for the night."
mt100811, 18 Septembre 2022

Having had a nightmare with the actual hotel we had booked for our stay this was very much a ‘grab whatever room we could find' booking. The reception staff were all incredibly pleasant and the room we had was spacious with a terrace to sit outside with a sea view. We didn't need this as were merely staying for the night but it was lovely. The bathroom has some signs of wear but the shower was lovely with plenty of hot water. Having arrived late, there was no parking at the hotel but a council run car park over the road was £2 from 6pm to 8am which we didn't mind paying under the circumstances. We ate in the restaurant and the food was tasty and the service fine.

"Falls below expectations"
BrianTrupp, 16 Septembre 2022

Poor restaurant service but breakfast is good. Poor internet. Bad communication. Good location but only a few rooms with sea view, otherwise you are around the back in a box room with views of the car park or like us over the staff entrance.

"Just Don't book"
SHoward507, 15 Septembre 2022

Booked 2 nights at this hotel. The website is very misleading. There is parking but it's only has a few spaces which are part of the loading bay at the rear of the building. The rooms are extremely small with just a shelf and a rail, no drawers or cupboards. No bedside cabinet just a piece of wood. Given the prices charged its daylight robbery. Staff who really don't care. Just don't waste your money. Morecombe itself is a lovely place to visit.

"coach holiday"
Corrine T, 14 Septembre 2022

this hotel was quite a disappointment it was clean but tiny room very small bathroom 28in by 7ft shower you could just get into not geared up for coach parties breakfast was awful took so long to get everything food average staff very young some helpful and efficient others uninterested it seemed that coach parties werent really what they wanted although in quiet times its these that keep hotels going would not stay here again

"Very nice stay"
rjcjtraveller, 06 Septembre 2022

Had a 2 night stay here whilst attending the vintage by the sea weekend. First impressions aren't great but in fact this is a nice hotel which couldn't have been better for the weekend. The best feature is the Aspect restaurant where we had 2 very nice evening meals sat outside on the balcony enjoying stunning views across Morecombe bay. Good quality food, reasonably priced.. A lack of fruit at breakfast but the cooked breakfast excellent, in particular field mushrooms. Our room (241) was smallish but ok, quite new bathroom, decent bed. A word about staff, some of whom were very young. They were all keen and did their very best, even under pressure at busy times.

"Not the best"
louisemiller7, 30 Août 2022

Paid for executive room, not quite sure what was executive about it! Room overlooked a car park and was above some sort of staff entrance! Was noisy! Asked for an extra bed for my daughter which was just a mattress on the floor. Shower room had hairs on the walls and in the shower. Won't be rushing back!

"5 night stay"
michaelgS9288IJ, 16 Août 2022

I booked some friends in for 5 nights this week . They received a nice welcome, very clean everywhere and the staff are very helpful and polite . All meals and breakfast were excellent . My friend was taken I'll one night the hotel were calm and rang and ambulance , however that all ended all well. Thank you and I would recommend !

"Great stay and location"
204corinnea, 02 Août 2022

I was hesitant to book due to poor reviews but I had no reason to be. The room was lovely, sea view, warning loud seagulls so maybe request a room without a view if you want quiet. The food was exceptional, as was the location. The staff were also exceptional and dealt with a need immediately. Music was on the prom not from the hotel daytime. There was a wedding Saturday evening but true to their word the music stopped immediately at midnight. Saddened to see staff dealing with rude wedding guests but they remained professional throughout. Parking was available and worth paying the extra for. Highly recommended. Thank you for a lovely stay.

"" Outstanding Break ""
HOW1E2013, 02 Août 2022

Just come back from a 3 night stay at this hotel. All the staff work so hard to make this place so good. Breakfast is superb and excellent views over Morecambe bay. Room 246 is excellent clean and spacious. The cocktails in the aspect bar and bistro are great. Will definitely stop again later this year.

"Not the best hotel we have stayed in"
Gloria G, 31 Juillet 2022

We have been hear since Tuesday the 26th July, there has been loud music playing from 10am until 11.30pm every day, being pensioners this is not a good thing, The mattress i had on my bed was lopsided we had to swing the thing around so i did not fall out of bed, beds have not been changed since we arrived, however breakfast is lovely, and the staff has been brilliant, but we did ask the reception if the music could be turned down to no avail, The view was to die for, we had our own pet seagulls (lol) no problem.

"Best avoided. Room 504 looks out at underside of bar stairs and rubble."
Wendy M, 19 Juillet 2022

Room 504 is a cupboard not a bedroom. Long thin room with a single bed with vinyl headboard, scuffed bar chair randomly dumped in the corner. The worst kind of single room where ‘guests' are whirled through a time machine back to when British hotels didn't have to think about providing a pleasant experience, and guests should be grateful to be given a bed. I did ask to be upgraded to a double room as soon as I saw just how grim my single room was, and was willing to pay extra. I was told no double room was available, yet a quick look on all of the hotel broker website indicated good availability. Followed up the next day with the duty manager, to be told an upgrade was probably manageable but would cost an extra £120. My room cost £69 per night and online hotel sites were offering doubles for £100 a night, so I was being charged approx £60 over advertised rate for an upgrade. I checked out 2 days early. Best Western - best avoided.

"Wonderful "
ebaybazza, 27 Juin 2022

Only stayed for one night. Couldn't park outside hotel to book in so went in the car park at the rear. But without a pass card you have to walk back round. Unfortunately we were told the car park was full as we arrived late. So we moved to a car park opposite the hotel which was actually cheaper £8 for 24 hours and more room for larger vehicles. The hotel car park is £10 a night but only fits 16 cars. This is not a negative is just so you know. We paid for a supreme room with amazing stunning views of Morecambe Bay. The bay window was massive. We just sat drinking wine and didn't want to leave it was so amazing. The hotel bar and restaurant is also beautiful and modern. Staff were friendly and polite. The room was clean and bathroom was very stylish. The room has loads of space and comes with fan, iron + board, hairdryer and usual tea coffee and biscuits. We can't wait to come back and next time will stay longer. Thank you.

"Dirty Room"
diggers1972, 27 Juin 2022

Hot water was only tepid in the shower There was no plug for bathroom sink. There were dirty tissues behind bedside cabinet, uncovered when moving cabinet to use plug socket. Friendly bar staff though.

"Hot water issue persists"
veedoubleyah, 26 Juin 2022

Decent location and check in lady was lovely. Room basic but clean only thing - no hot water. Reported the problem and was told they had an issue and as lots of guests were using the hot water to give it half an hour. After half an hour still no hot water - apparently a coach party had turned up - give it another half an hour. Guess what - no hot water. Reported again - the plumber had turned up it would be fixed. Had to go out without having a shower. Next morning - having been assured it was fixed - no hot water. Reported again - it will be sorted in 5 minutes. Hmmm no - tried calling reception - no answer. Looking on Trip Advisor what a surprise someone the previous day had reported the problem with no solution. What really annoyed me is that on check out I said the water wasn't fixed - the manager looked shocked as she had been 'speaking to the plumber'. When I mentioned the Trip Advisor review it became apparent they had been lying to us. Absolutely appalling behaviour - they knew there was a problem and kept trying to string us along. If you can't provide a decent shower - the room should not be let out.

"Definitely should not have 3x Star Hotel Rating!"
jacobmT1306JQ, 24 Juin 2022

I stayed in room 120 on 23 June 2022 and from the outset didn't expect much. Even with such low expectation threshold, this establishment failed dismillay. There was no hot water from the time I checked-in. Reception was informed immediately and I was told that the hotel was experiencing "a problem with hot water supply...but it would be repaired before late afternoon". Needless to say, it never got restored. I complained to reception (when I checked out), that all I expected was a bed and hot water to wash. The response from reception was very apathetic and dismissive. This establishment is nothing more than a lower-end hostel (definitely can't be classed a hotel)...so do not stay here. Many other suitable hotels nearby, to select.

"LIKE TO OVER CHARGE"
juliequine, 23 Juin 2022

Sadly we had to arrange a wake and chose here, the buffet was good and we were treated ok by the bar staff. However, my son had been in and paid the bill the day before to try and take some of the pressure off me, but unfortunately they still chose to charge my debit card, not once but twice for 2 different amounts, totalling £853. I am leaving this review 4 days into trying to get my money back from them, as yet to no avail.

"Worst Western"
MCFCKRK, 22 Juin 2022

We arrived in the evening to an unstaffed reception. Attempted several times to check in on the computerised system to no avail. (Tried, as instructed, to use surname and booking reference number, neither of which worked.) The bell on the reception desk, ostensibly for summoning staff, did not work. After 20-30 minutes of frustration, which included ringing Best Western in the US (who were helpful) , we located the staff member who should have been staffing reception. They were in the bar, apparently changing a barrel, although I can't imagine why it would have taken that long. The staff member was defensive rather than apologetic. Our room was adequate. Small but clean. The only redeeming part of the stay was breakfast which very good and served by a young man who was professional and friendly.

"Home from Home"
Kathryn47, 17 Juin 2022

I was a guest of this hotel since Monday. Right from the get go, we were made to feel so welcomed. My friend needs to avoid Gluten, and our menu was tailored to this. So many choices. All the staff were so kind and helpful. The rooms have recently been refurbished and everything you need for a comfortable stay will be there.

"DO NOT PAY STAFF! AVOID"
Shenice K, 11 Juin 2022

They do not pay their staff and then ignore them when questioned about it. The hotel manager is rude, and belittles the housekeeping staff. They also state that they pay £9.50 on indeed and in the interview, however after you start they say that it is only minimum wage.

"Recommended"
830wilmar, 23 Mai 2022

Just home from a long weekend of Linedancing. Bed, breakfast and evening meal. I found the hotel clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was plentifull and the evening meals were great. Choice, quality and presentation were amazing. Did not expect such a high standard. Well done Chef and staff. Good value. I'm not used to drinking in bars so found the drinks expensive but they have to make a living. Looking forward to going back next year.

"Good for a night"
Ginx60, 20 Mai 2022

Adequate room, but it became stuffy on a sunny day even though situated on the East side of the building. Was a wedding party there, so no aspect to the food and views of the restaurant. The wedding manager was rude to us. Otherwise good value for money.

"Smart little hotel"
Sightseer66395007644, 20 Mai 2022

Stayed on business for 1 night. Enjoyed it. Smart little hotel, staff very friendly, lovely views, good parking . Room was cosy. The breakfast is a bit odd where you have to exactly specify what you want rather than buffet but it worked fine. Right on the seafront Would recommend.

"Excellent value for money"
Carol J, 05 Mai 2022

Stayed for 1 night only - the staff are brilliant, especially the Scottish lady on reception. Perfect location and only 5 minutes walk from noisier bars. We didn't eat here because we had made other plans but the breakfast was top notch. Lovely comfy bed. Highly recommended. Great views from sun terrace

"Flying visit"
keith l, 29 Mars 2022

Stayed just the one night very pleased with the hotel great bar area with good quality drinks available, very welcoming staff all round , didn't have food so can't comment but it did look delicious when the staff we're waiting on , room decent size good shower and tea coffee and biscuits lovely touch , recommend this hotel no problem

"Quick break March 20222"
TonyandTina2014, 29 Mars 2022

Could do with replacing the mattresses. Had a very uncomfortable night, the room was too hot even with the window open, maybe that was my fault for not turning the radiator off/down over night however the hotel is clean and tidy and we would stay there again if we ever come back to Morecambe. Did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment but drink prices are reasonable. Overall had a good short break.

"Afternoon tea"
raygo33, 27 Mars 2022

After there mix up on the booking they went out of there way to make it up to us the service food and price was just beyond excellent thank you also it's the first time we have been there and it wont be the last its beautifull inside highly recomended

"Anniversary party"
janel334, 06 Mars 2022

A lovely stay at this hotel for a family anniversary party. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and helpful ( particular thanks to Margaret) and couldn't be faulted, the food was delicious and served very efficiently. We would recommend this hotel and hope to return in the near future. Thank you.

"Murder Mystery night"

We attended the event last night with a group of friends .. What a fantastic night we all had . Great food, Great efficient and courteous staff . The actors performing were excellent. We can't wait for the next one.

"1 night stay for a wedding"
66spikeiom, 13 Février 2022

Firstly the wedding venue was lovely, I cannot fault the hotel for this. However, the hotel itself is very poor. A best western you expect a certain quality. Not here. The room was so small I was glad my partner couldn't stay as it was not big enough for 1 person. Poor dated decor, a distinct lack of plugs and some falling of the wall!!!! The shower was awful, if I had hair I would not of been able to rinse it !!!!!!! I was asked to pre book breakfast which I did for 09:30. My breakfast eventually arrived at about 10:35. 2 of our party ended up cancelling as by 10:45 no food had arrived. the male member of staff I can't remember his name (tall and slim) was extremely rude when we asked about the breakfast. Drinks at the bar are expensive. The hotel is in need of a full renovation. I would class this as a max 2 star hotel. I would not stay again. Had a lovely day at the wedding such a shame the hotel didn't impress.

"Polite and professional staff"
jaycurtis88382022, 31 Janvier 2022

Rooms are very ideal. Beds are extremely comfortable. Food is lovely, and the breakfast is delicious and freshly cooked. The manager was extremely helpful with our issue with one of the meals and rectified the situation immediately. Very polite and helpful. We will definitely return in the summer.

"Aspect"
Eric C, 24 Janvier 2022

Excellent hotel and service provided for a Burns Dinner. Very tasty food and attentive staff helped our stay. The room was clean and provided everything for our needs. The hotel was well run and showed a high level of attention.

"Hotel needs to get it's act together"
grahamtlowe, 15 Novembre 2021

Room was very small, it was the smallest I have ever stayed in, also on arrival I ruined my coat on an entrance door which had been gloss painted and no warning was on the outside. The staff seemed to not care that my coat was ruined. The bar prices are ridiculous we ended up going to Wetherspoons and other bars near by I don't mind a little extra cost but the prices were extortionate.

"Great location, excellent coffee/tea-making - hopeless wifi - not operational in our room!"
Kitty-Jay C, 18 Octobre 2021

Liked: The hotel is in an excellent location generally with some rooms having great views over the Bay and Lakeland; ours was at the back of the hotel, however, overlooking a street with very dilapidated housing, and was quite dark. The room size was fine if not generous, located in the newly refurbished section of the hotel, and the bathroom was great, with a good shower. Excellent and very efficient electric radiator heating, with great controllability. Full marks for heating - and also for the coffee machine and tea-making facilities! Disliked: Poor lighting in the bedroom, which had only a small window so very little natural light. The biggest problem for us, as we had work requiring wifi access, was the incredibly weak signal in the room. It was so poor that most of the time it didn't even register on our laptops. We mentioned this to the Reception staff, but no solution was forthcoming. Only one comfortable chair in a room for two, and only one tiny desk/table for working. Noisy bar as there was a wedding function.

"Lovely room, very clean. Had supper there on 2 nights. Food & service excellent. Noisy bar staff & private function late"
dennisingram4, 20 Septembre 2021

Noisy 1st night due to private function & bar staff recycling bottles. Was asked twice to move car from bay 11 to 10 as there had been a complaint. 1st time I went to move car, other guest said wasn't necessary, but reception insisted I did. Wasn't advised which bay to use when signing in

"Remote Gate"
897leea, 16 Septembre 2021

Really outdated room which is in desperate need of decorating and re-design. The bed is extremely uncomfortable with mattress springs sticking in my back, very small double and the pillows were like rocks. That alone didn't offer us with much sleep but the continuous slamming doors in the night, creaking floorboards made for an uncomfortable experience. The shower room is not well laid out, no-where to hang a towel or lay out toiletries and is feels sloped. We never had a remote control for the TV which I suppose isn't too bad, just need to get out of bed to change channel or turn off etc, but we reported to reception as we didn't want them to think we'd taken it. Came back to the room later and staff had clearly been in the room but still no remote, so we informed reception again who said they'd get one. Still no remote or note to say there wasn't one or no spare, so we left it. Breakfast on the last morning was a joke. We had a table of 7 and preordered as requested the night before. 3/7 received breakfast as the other 4 waited only for the waiter to ask if everything was ok. We asked where our breakfast was and he said he'd ask. After repeatedly asking where the remaining breakfasts were and 50 minutes after our time slot 3 had finished breakfast and I didn't have the appetite anymore. Very poor communication and no manager about to complain to. One to avoid and I certainly won't be back here again.

"Great staff shame about the room"
alivasser, 14 Septembre 2021

The rooms were tiny, light broken and the toilet flooded and broke! The view was of the carpark and I felt ripped off for the money. The staff however were all wonderful. Jamie the waiter was absolutely great, polite, witty and couldn't do enough to help.

"Coast to Coast Cycling group (Imp Adventures) "
impa2021, 10 Septembre 2021

Another excellent stay for Imp Adventures From start to finish our stay was fantastic, great staff, lovely hotel and rooms and fantastic food. Before our stay the management were on-the-ball, menus supplied to pre-order our groups meals, bike storage inside, no hassle arrival and our own dining room. The staff were very professional and gave good banter which left everyone at ease and the chefs produced some exceptional food especially the Lancashire hotpot. Breakfast was delivered with Swiss precision and bang on time for a big group. Another 10/10 visit again. Thank you guys.

Lovely Hotel situated on the promenade in Morecambe. The staff are friendly & helpful. The room I had was a good size & clean & the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent & freshly cooked as was the meal I had in the Restaurant. This time I travelled alone but I'm already thinking of a return visit with my girlfriend. A fantastic stay.

"Great hotel"

It was a great stop over on our travel from Scotland to Belgium, perfect location, big parking in front of the hotel , food at the restaurant was really good , and you have dinner with a superb view ! We will be back

"‘Best' hotel in Morecambe"
Happyholidayer8, 30 Août 2021

Poor old Morecambe has seen better days, I was very pleased to be staying at the Lothersdale Hotel as it was probably in the best part of Morecambe. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed extremely comfortable but it was described as an executive room but apart from the king-size bed I wouldn't say there was anything else executive as it was very small and didn't have a bath, however the food was excellent and the staff all very polite so if I would recommend.

"Last minute one night stay"
Heatherker, 28 Août 2021

The hotel is in a great location, short walk into the centre. The double room was ok. For some reason the toilet lid was missing ? Would book a sea view room if stopping more than one night as the views are amazing. Nice bar/lounge area and drink prices reasonable. Plenty of choice for breakfast which we enjoyed

"A week in Morecambe"
Beetlejui, 28 Août 2021

We booked for 7 nights at the Lothersdale, our room was very nice, a couple of small issues were dealt with quickly, no complaints about the room at all. A huge bed, lovely view through the bay window, plenty of storage, hanging space and seating. A smallish bathroom but all very clean and modern. The reception staff were excellent, especially the lady from Scotland whose name I've forgotten, all super helpful and always friendly, as were the housekeeping and bar staff who were always helpful, efficient and friendly. Parking was very convenient in a car park across the road, we didn't bother with the hotel's car park which was behind the hotel. Parking was free overnight, payment of £3.50 needed from 10 am. BUT - and it's a huge but from us as a big part of being on holiday is not having too cook our own food - the restaurant staff are lacking in skill, training, guidance and, sadly, manners. I hardly know where to start: each day we filled in a breakfast tick list, it's a pretty simple, basic menu, each day we ticked virtually the same items and each day they got it wrong! From the wrong juices, the wrong cereals, too few cereals, too many cereals, too little milk (one small jug for all of our cereal then on another morning three jugs), too little toast, too few butters (those little wraps of butter are insufficient for a piece of toast, we were always brought two wraps for two slices of toast - it's not enough! Maybe try spreading it yourselves?). Sometimes the cooked breakfasts arrived before we'd finished our cereal, that was irritating. The toast always arrived first, with the tea, juice and cereal. It was always cold and soggy by the time the cooked food arrived. The list goes on ...... This could all be overlooked and excused as lack of experience but the attitude of the staff in general, bar one male waiter who showed elements of good customer care, was pretty dire. We weren't greeted on arrival for breakfast, just ‘what room are you' and ‘your table's here'. How about ‘good morning, can I take your room number please?' A young male waiter with a filthy mask, which he kept adjusting and then of course handling our plates, (cross contamination) was particularly unhelpful, ineffectually drifting from table to table. A young female had long painted talons, again unhygienic. Despite a notice on the front door saying their policy was to wear masks two waiters didn't wear one at all. During one breakfast service we were attended, in a haphazard way, by four staff. It was never busy, generally there were only 4 or 5 tables at breakfast when we ate, we counted a maximum of 16 covers on one day while we ate. These numbers do not warrant the amount of staff we saw. We saw no evidence of training or guidance, just haphazard delivery of items being taken to and then from tables with no obvious designated areas. On one morning we spent an hour and 20 minutes at our table from start to end of our service! We paid £12.50 per person per day for a small, basic meal with sub-standard service, please take a look at this, get a proper manager in and train your staff, it lets an otherwise very acceptable hotel down badly. My low service review is based solely on the restaurant staff, everywhere else was excellent.

"Three night family stay"
jessicahG6117NZ, 21 Août 2021

I stayed here for three nights with my family. Upon arrival I was informed that my room had been upgraded which was a bonus. The room was very spacious, had two singles beds, was on the ground floor level and had adequate storage space for clothes. Beds were comfortable but I wouldn't advise that you don't look under the mattress protector sheets as the actual mattresses were very stained. The view from the ground floor room was below pavement level and on the odd occasion people were in the designated smoking area outside my bedroom window. With the room being situated next to the reception area there was a very loud banging front door each time anyone entered/exited the building which kept me awake for the first night. The bar and restaurant staff were very hard working and pleasant each time we visited. Food was tasty and worth the money. The view from the bar/bistro area was lovely looking out into Morecombe Bay. We paid for a designated parking space, at £3.50 per night, this was really helpful as there isn't any free parking around the hotel. There is also a car park opposite as the hotel car park can get full easily.

Stayed in room 116. The room was absolutely spotless, roomy with complimentary tea/coffee/biscuits. Bathroom and toilet also modern and immaculate. Staff efficient and friendly. Will definitely be making a return visit!

"Nice hotel good location"
peterw570, 14 Août 2021

A nice hotel in a great location within easy walking of everything. Nice comfortable room, bathroom compact but usable, no seaview. Had meal in the restaurant which does have seaview. The food was really good and recommended with good service from the staff.

"Good value hotel stay"
LizzieB32, 14 Août 2021

I always stay at this hotel when in the area. I feel I get good value for money. It is invariably quiet and I particularly like the sea view rooms at the front of the hotel. The restaurant is very good as are the cocktails.

"Shake N Vac"
49dazm, 14 Août 2021

I booked an executive double room for 3 nights whilst working in the area. There was nothing executive about it. In fact, it was quite the opposite. The room had a musty smell on entering. I mentioned this at reception and the lady told me she would ask Housekeeping to use Shake and Vac in the morning. Words failed me at this time. I think Housekeeping must have forgot and they also forgot to service the room during my stay. The room was small with old stained furniture, a big rust patch on the radiator and floor, a big water stain on the carpet (Probably where the musty smell came from), fabric on the arm chair was torn underneath and hanging to the floor. The roof where you looked out of the window was a covered in moss. On the plus side, I had a sea view. I was told that the sea view rooms are classed as executive because of the view. I would have rather stayed in a non-executive room at the back of the hotel if the rooms were of better standard. One more thing… The walls are very thin and you can hear things, if you know what I mean!!

"Business traveller"
morfittgs, 30 Juillet 2021

Small, hot room -relatively expensive compared to usual chains used. Internet poor, inaccurate website stating 24 hour non-existent room service. Mid-week noisy functions not informed prior to stay. COVID standards not as stated nor expected of all staff.

"Unpleasant visit"
buick931, 26 Juillet 2021

Turned up on the day to request 2 double rooms and was told they only had executive rooms available at a higher tariff. We accepted the rooms without viewing them first and when we arrived at the rooms we were surprised to find that the rooms were not actually executive. They was a basic double bed not a kingsize, one easy chair no toiletries and a very inadequate fan for use on what was the hottest days on record. We had no view and a very small window. When I asked the staff what was executive about the room they shrugged and said it is a bit bigger, I have stayed in larger B&B rooms and would not stay here again. There was a mix up with the parking space we paid for and in general the place was quite chaotic in the way it was managed. No informatiion in rooms about how to contact reception and we were kept up till 330 am one of the nights as the room next door was having a party and i didnt know how to contact reception to complain.

"Fabulous Location."
carolineshawkins, 25 Juillet 2021

This hotel is located directly across the road from the sea. There are amazing rooms from the restaurant across to the beach. There is minimal parking on the back of the hotel .... perhaps 10/11 spaces, with the alternative of parking in the public car park opposite which is free after 6.00pm. Our "Executive" room was simply a small double room on the back of the hotel, overlooking the car park, and a skip. The size of the room was adequate, the bed comfortable, but the bathroom was so tiny that you had to step out of the way before you could even close the door. Similarly a towel rail in the bathroom was placed so close to the entrance to the shower, that it was difficult t o get in. We visited in the middle of a heat wave admittedly, but the room did not benefit from any outside breeze, and there was no air conditioning. A fan had been provided but was insufficient to keep the room cool. It was so bad, that we decided to either leave one day early, or to purchase another fan to use. Breakfast was very expensive in comparison with nearby eateries, and for the premium charge was very very average. You had to make your selection from the breakfast menu and hand in to reception before 9.00pm the previous evening, rather than being able to choose what you fancied the next morning. "Chef" couldnt seem to understand that if in a heatwave, you put little pats of butter on hot toast, they will lie there ready to explode over the poor soul who tries to open them to spread on their bread; showering them with liquid butter. We had to ask for cold butter after we mopped it all up, and so did at least one other table during our sitting. I was disappointed that Covid is being used as an excuse by the hotel not to refresh the rooms during the day. We were still left with wet towels, and even the coffee and biscuits were not replaced. Positives were the reception staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful, the light dinner we ordered to eat in our room, the convenient location and the view. Very nice. Overall, we might use the hotel again if the rate was right, but we would be more careful about choosing our room type, we would take a decent fan with us, and we wouldn't pay for the breakfast.

"Sweat box!! Not worthy of the Best Western Brand!"
Mitchrj1, 25 Juillet 2021

Awful! We came because we have stayed in Best Westerns many times and this hotel is by far the worse! If you can avoid this hotel. The rooms are quite small and this is no air conditioning at all in fact because our rooms window goes to an inside roof space there is no air at getting into the room was it was boiling! Plus the heating was on in the corridor!! I suspect even in mild weather this room would be boiling! To add to that the tv didn't work correctly we started watching BBC iPlayer and it cut out! The bottom sheet is not the correct size, and there is black mold in the shower and one of lights by the bed didn't work! And finally they charge £12.95 each for breakfast!!

"First time here"
KirstyE58, 22 Juillet 2021

When we phone to enquire about stopping here, & ask for a low floor room as I'm partially signed, they said no problem, we arrived & checked in & was told that we were in 505 which is on the same floor as the Reception we thought great , we went to the room it was nice we got settled in & went to the restaurant for our evening meal which was great , later on went back to the room, & we then heard a lot of chairs being moved a crossed the floor of the bar above we left it for a while & then went to the reception to asked when it will stop & was told it should finish about 10-10.30, which it didn't, we went back again & was basically go told you asked for a low floor room, & nothing they could do, we did speak to someone the next morning & she did apologise & said they not normally use those room when the is a party / Function, we explain why we asked for a low room, & she was quite helpful & suggested next time we book ask for a room on a higher floor but near the lifts, which we definitely do & would go back, the staff are helpful & friendly,

"2 night stay"

Nice hotel lovley position. Reception staff leave a lot too be desired. Payed indvance got email too confirming it but still insisted we had not paid had too pay again or no stay. Went to bank got statement to prove it. Met manager/owner no apology at all but plenty of rude remarks said come back later. Later back again met Paul he admitted it was there mistake first person too apologise would get our money back but it could take up too a week.we did nothing wrong and were treated appalling the manager needs some lessons in good manners. To top it off had a problem with the loo in middle of night constant water running. Rang night porter couldn't fix it ended leaving at 4am had enough. Two OAPs. Still waiting for a call back from hotel. Won't hold my breath...

"Bad hotel, poor customer service, won't be criticised"
Lizzle B, 07 Juillet 2021

Ah where to begin... We were in Morecambe for a wedding at (the much nicer) Midland Hotel. I guess my problem started when I decided to be a bit cheap and book a budget hotel instead of just staying there. Earlier in the day I spoke to a very nice member of staff about the time for last check-in. Had a very pleasant conversation, that's largely irrelevant. Anyway, after the wedding we went to the hotel, looking forward to a relax after a long day. Checked in at the contactless board in the foyer, but on the way upstairs the receptionist called us over and asked us to fill in a form for breakfast - asking for the time and the food required. This was understandable as the pre-stay instructions from the hotel noted that all breakfasts were room service only as per Covid guidelines... We stayed in Room 121, hotel is a bit of a warren but we found the room easily enough. The room was an inferno. Yes I know that its summer... but it was approximately 10 degrees outside and raining. Even opening the window made no difference to the temperature. Handily though a fan had been provided in the room. So we popped on the fan and had a lie down whilst we watched the TV (couldn't really hear it as the volume had been limited and the fan was quite noisy). No real problem it was quite late and we just wanted to sleep. Not long after going to sleep I woke up thinking that I might be peri-menopausal given the heat in the room. As it turns out, the fan was on a timer and so had to be switched back on every 90 minutes or so. Meaning that we spent all night getting out of bed in turn so that we could keep it cool enough to sleep. The next morning we were tired but at least we had breakfast in our room to look forward to before getting on our way. Alas it was never to arrive - and we left it 40 minutes. We decided to cut our losses and leave. we'd get a refund on the breakfast and pick something up on our way home. Receptionist couldn't refund us as we'd booked on Booking.com. OK no problem...contacted them. 'Hotel will not be seeking to compensate you as you didn't attend the restaurant for breakfast, and the fans are on a timer for safety reasons'. They are right, we didn't attend the restaurant - unfortunately my crystal ball had been left at home. Schoolboy error. I went on booking.com to leave my (honest) review, but I could see from other reviews that if you don't tell them that they're great, you get one of those bullying slightly supercilious responses from the hotel. Turns out that I didn't have a bad stay, I am in fact just stupid...or so their response would suggest.

"Aspect restaurant"

The food and service was very good, a nice relaxing atmosphere and we left a good tip. Upon leaving the doorman said have you settled your bill which we found offensive because we have Merseyside accents

"Really nice hotel and great staff"
JoannaCebula, 29 Juin 2021

We stayed in this hotel for a night as a getaway from busy lakes. It was a really good stay ! Room tidy and had everything we needed (iron, ironing board, shower gels, towels etc). We had some minor issue with the room which got solved really quickly and professionally by the receptionist (really nice blonde lady in glasses, sorry, I can't remember your name but you were amazing! ) We had some cocktails and nibbles in hotels Aspect restaurant. Drinks were really good, food tasty and fresh and the service was excellent. We were really well looked after by the restaurant team. We paid extra for pre ordered breakfast (reception gives you breakfast form with the menu you choose from and return to them) which was very good quality. The views from both room and the restaurant are stunning. All the staff made our stay excellent, all of them are really hard working and providing great service with a smile, even though you can't see their faces because of the masks on but you still can tell they're all smiley, polite and hard working. We will definitely come and visit again ! :)

"Best Western quality"
LifeboatAdam, 20 Mai 2021

Pleasant staff and a clean room. Thin walls and a hard mattress meant a bad night's sleep after a long day at work. Breakfast was what I asked for (off menu) but not made with a lot of care. But this is a Best Western, so I got exactly what I expected from the franchise at a cost to reflect that.

"Great Staff"
Ghostie87, 25 Avril 2021

Had to stay here for a few nights while my house was getting done up. I booked through a booking site and when i arrived i was told there was no reservation and no payment, as i had already paid for the room i showed my confirmation etc. And Margaret who was on reception went out of her way to get it sorted quickly. Incredible customer service and she really reassured me. Turns out there was a problem with the site i booked with but was quickly rectified and was made to feel very welcome. The room i had was perfect for me, nice and cosy. Would definitely recommend.

johnstinchcomb, 14 Novembre 2020

stayed in what was called a superior room. are you having a laugh only good thing about the room was the view.outside the door was a lift I have never heared a noise like it. it was like a train pulling into a station every ten minutes it was the talk of the hotel. I complained to the reception but got fobbed off .i wasn't impressed with the reception staff anyway seemed a bit dithery. the only good thing was the breakfast and the breakfast staff very attentive and polite. stayed in a number of best western hotels before but this was not up to there usual standard

"Nice view of the bay"

Comfortable room. Big bed. Nice big bay window. No bath mat in shower so was very slippy. Had a meal in restaurant good food and comfortable atmosphere. Efficiant staff trying to work the new covid rules.

"Would never stay again."
louisebG6738CD, 11 Octobre 2020

Where do i start payed for an executive DOUBLE room ended up in a twin room that was no where near executive in any way just a standard room which i could of payed less for if i had known. Parking not stated on the website stayed a night and they had the cheek to charge £3.50 for sat and sun wasnt even there 24 hours. Nothing on website that says you have to pay for parking. Just says parking avaliable which is one of the reasons i booked this place. I got married in a best western hotel so was expecting it to be half decent. Its an old building like a maze. Lift sounds like its going to conk out ohhh and the shower this morning was freezing. Also paper thin walls somebody was snoring like a lumberjack all night. Would not go back. Terrible grubby hotel.

"Absolutely Atrocious for the Cost!"
caronhayward, 17 Septembre 2020

We arrived on Tuesday September 15th (around 3:15pm) and check-in was straightforward, friendly staff etc. The lift was out of order and we were in room 121 so it wasn't a massive problem but might have been for anyone elderly or with small children but that's by the by. We went up one flight of stairs and came out at The Aspect level so technically ground floor as Reception is underneath the building. There were no signs stating which rooms were where, just another flight of stairs so up we went... once at the top a sign said through the door and to the right for room 121... nope, completely wrong! So we doubled back only to find another sign on the wall saying 121 was off to the left... it didn't say how far it was though, the place is like a rabbit warren, no logic to the room numbers or anything, very uneven floors with no warnings which may be a problem for someone a little unsteady or indeed a lady in heels! Also, the carpet was wrinkled up in some places so again, a serious trip hazard! Add to the mix a discarded disposable glove and it wasn't a great first impression! Where do I begin on the room... well, to say we paid £95.00 for it we were shocked at the state and size of it! Bed - black mark/stain on duvet cover, bottom sheet didn't fit as it stopped where the pillows began so exposing the mattress protector, one very flat pillow each and no extras in the room should we have required them. I ended up rolling up towels and my jacket to put underneath! Skirting boards - extremely dusty Dressing Table - this was tiny to say the least and had the kettle on there as well so a definite safety issue which needs addressing before someone is scalded! Bathroom - dust and hair on toilet, both on the lid and porcelain, shower screen water-stained, no toiletries and water marked shelving. View - hmmm, if bins, other peoples dilapidated sheds and grimy back yards are your thing then you are in for a treat with 121! I appreciate not everyone can have a sea view and that you don't book a room purely for the view from the window but please, this is beyond horrendous for the price! On our way out for the evening we went to Reception to query the missing toiletries but no-one was there and, as we had a table booked elsewhere, we couldn't wait for someone to decide they wanted to answer the bell we rang... twice. On our way back into the hotel (before 10pm) we again approached Reception, same story as before... does that bell even work?? Once in the room I rang down and the call was answered immediately by a young lady who advised she had no idea if toiletries should be provided or not "due to Covid" so I pointed out that as everyone is banging on about handwashing etc then surely there should at least be a bar of soap! She eventually rang me back and asked if I could meet her half way on the corridor with a supply of toiletries as yes, they should have been in the room, but her pass wouldn't let her through the fire door... really?? Should this also be addressed?? Breakfast - if this wasn't so pathetic it would be laughable... £12.95 for one vegetarian sausage, half an average sized tomato, a tablespoon of beans and one egg (scrambled)... we were not offered toast or condiments of any description and the filter coffee was very weak to obviously not enough had been put in the pot. I recommend either larger portions are provided or smaller plates are used as everything just looked lacking and definitely not value for money by any stretch of the imagination! Oh and my husbands plate had a massive chip in it so again, not great! We checked out of the hotel at around 9:40am... the discarded disposable glove was still on the floor, in the same place when we left so it had definitely been on the corridor for over 18 hours to our knowledge - how many staff members must have walked past it in this time??

"Give it a wide berth"
laparade47, 07 Septembre 2020

If you like cold toast, screeching lift noises and lack of fire safety this is definitely the hotel for you. If you would like to be called darling, told where to sit and constantly have a waitress saying "not a problem" every time someone speaks get yourself booked in here. If however you would like to be treated as a paying customer in a 3 star hotel should be treated then go elsewhere. Don't bother with afternoon tea. A couple of minute sandwiches with poor quality fillings and a pile of cheap cakes is not good value. Have a waiter huffing and puffing around as though everything is too much trouble doesn't help. Turn up for the £12.95 breakfast and be told the table you would like is booked but it isn't possible for you to book. Get cold toast, have to constantly ask for things you need. Ask for your room to be supplied with toilet paper as the preused roll in there has about 6 sheets on it. You will have to wait until housekeeping come back on at 6PM. This is at about 4PM.! As to safety - the lift screeched and whined. Try not to get a room near it as you will constantly be woken. Using it is a scary experience in between the noise and the fact you may or may not arrive at your chosen floor. The hotel is a maze of corridors. There are no signs to stairs or fire exits so should there be an emergency you would have no idea of how to safely leave the building. I specifically asked about parking. Was told it was free for blue badge holders. On arrival was told it was only free in the public park across the road not in the hotel car park. Pillows were stained. Room was generally clean but dusty and with dirty skirting boards. Soap supplied appeared to have been used and rewrapped. Altogether not a good experience.

"Lovely setting, right on the bay"
Bluemoon52, 28 Août 2020

We got a room with a sea view as you should really see the beautiful bay when you stay at Morecambe. Not a modern hotel so lots of creaking floors but clean and well set up for Covid measures. Staff friendly. We didn't eat at the bistro (apart from a decent cooked breakfast) but we did have a few drinks on the bistro balcony which overlooks the bay. Situated about ten minutes walk from the busy part of the town (although it wasn't ever that busy) with a lovely stretch of beach across the road where you can see many different kinds of waders,if you're interested in bird watching. Limited parking at the back of the hotel (£3.50 a night) but we managed to find free on street parking. Morecambe doesn't have a lot of night life - nearly all pubs shut at 10pm in August (!!!) - but it's a lovely wide bay with views of the Lakeland fells. Only criticism was the noise that the lift made - like an animal in distress - which wasn't the most relaxing sound late at night and early in the morning. But hopefully it will be fixed soon...

"Fire Risk"
Vickimurphy72, 12 Août 2020

We stayed in one of the nearly refurbished executive rooms and have to say I would not stay again. The hotel was like a maze to get round. Fire doors needed a card to get through and we felt very unsettled. If there had been a fire alarm we would have quite easily lost our bearings due to lack of signs and due to the locality of the stairs we felt older people would have struggled. The room wasn't finished off satisfactorily, silicone up tiles, tape still on fixtures, other rooms along the corridor had yet to be finished. For the price we paid we expected far better.

"All round great stay "
wcb1977, 22 Juillet 2020

Just returned from a 2night mini break and fantastic warm welcome, all the team very pleasant and helpful, we got the brand new rooms just recently finished and they were great! The hotel has character from its history mixed with current and up-to date fixtures and fittings and the bed was amazing! Little touches of usb charger sockets next to bed are a very pleasant much needed in any hotel room! Ditch the extension cables you need in most hotels, Location is perfect too, just enough out of town and away from the noise but just close enough for a lovely stroll along the front in any direction you choose. The scenery is stunning and very pleasant sat out in morning with our take away breakfast bags. The bar and bistro Aspect (attached) is fantastic too, great atmosphere and food to die for and very well priced! Great choice of select meals and you can't go wrong with anything off the menu! Perfection! Overall a great hotel , great team, great bed, great food, great location! Ps. Don't worry about parking (other reviews) as you can use the short stay over the road that is free from 6pm till 10am or you can pay by the hour for £1.20. I paid £13 for 2 full days parking so while the hotel is getting its new car park ready just use over the road!

"Disappointing stay."
Goonergal06, 14 Juillet 2020

Spent one night here, but not again. There wasn't any parking as advertised let alone free. The double room was very small, also en suite. A lack of plugs also. We were woken up at 11.45pm by the people in the next room who had their TV on full volume. We tried to ring reception but the phone in the room didn't work. I phoned twice on my mobile and no one answered. I then went to reception to find no one there, so I rang the bell which they instructed you to do. I rang about 3 times to no avail so went back to room to check if they'd switched off . . . No! Went back again to reception and still no one there, rang bell several times before someone finally came. He couldn't understand why my 2 phone calls hadn't come through to him. He then followed me to my room and could hear the tv before we even were close. It took him three attempts at knocking before someone came to the door, they then turned the volume down! By now 12.30pm and we are wide awake! The on the go breakfast wasn't even worth bothering about, it consisted of a Nutella bar, a croissant and a tiny carton of water! Definitely won't be staying there again.

"Covid 19 travel."
Grant H W, 20 Mai 2020

I stayed here during the Covid 19 outbreak. The staff were excellent and all food was brought to the rooms quickly when ordered. The quality of the food was excellent and not too expensive. The views are very good overlooking the seafront. There is a car park across from the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the rooms a reasonable size with a table and 2 chairs. It is an old building and this is the only drawback it could do with a bit of modernisation. I would definitely stay here again when passing through.

"Great hotel at a good price "
simont144, 02 Avril 2020

Stayed here a couple of times. The hotel is close to restaurants and landmarks. Rooms on the front have a great view. Breakfast is much better than other hotels I have stayed in although you have to order so leave an extra 5 mins. Parking outside is free after 6pm. I would definitely stay here again.

"Emergency work"
194chrisa, 02 Avril 2020

Thank you to all the staff at the hotel, had to spend to nights in Morecambe due to work during Covid19 times. The staff when far and beyond what was required of them during this scary time. Thank you for been there when the inns and lodges shut their doors and ran for the hills. 10 out of 10 for service and room standard's, when you could not ask for more.

"Really helpful staff - thanks!"
haighshopping, 15 Mars 2020

I cannot thank enough the helpful staff at the Best Western Lothersdale Hotel in Morecambe - I was on business at the hotel with a lot of things to get done and they were fantastic. The location is really handy for Morecambe itself and is right on the front. Highly recommended.

Raby51, 11 Mars 2020

Staff lovely, food very good had a good evening meal breakfast great too. Rooms small & tired & car park not available which spoilt the stay somewhat which was a shame. As previously written in a review wouldn't book to stay again.

"Great food great view not so great rooms."

"Stunning views across the Bay from the breakfast room /restaurant!"
steffeliz36, 18 Février 2020

I was given an upgrade & my room & en-suite (downstairs front) was lovely! I couldn't fault it! The breakfast -with that stunning view over Morecambe Bay - really sets you up for the day! The staff are really friendly & accommodating! I will be looking forward to my next visit there!

"Average hotel"
helenw555, 18 Février 2020

We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting family so didn't eat here. We arrived at 2.05pm and we knew check in was at 3 however we were told it was to early, wouldn't have minded but the man never even checked if our room was ready. We never even saw anyone else whilst we were staying there. Room was average with a sea view, shower was excellent though. Did ask for fresh milk to make a cup of tea in our room as the long life milk was disgusting. Tea bags not replenished, not glasses /mugs washed whilst we were there.

"Perfect location"
archer61, 02 Février 2020

Enjoyed a perfect overnight stay in this hotel with wondeful views over the Bay and a short walk to all the amenetitities . The rooms with a sea view are certainly worth it . Alays have great service and the breakfast is always good

"Very nice place"
sportbilly62, 19 Janvier 2020

Overnight stay for me and wife for nearby music event. Nice welcome and quick check in from lady on reception. Had some dinner before going out, lovely view from restaurant and bar overlooking the bay, this applied to breakfast also. Food was nice, wife enjoyed lamb shank, I had chicken calzone which was massive but a bit bland and could have done with some seasoning but we did clear our plates. Breakfast was also nice with the usual help yourself to cold items but full English on order and with local produce on, all was very nice. Double room 224 overlooking backings which is a building site at the moment. Comfy room and shower room. All in all a nice place. Only disappointment was the secure car park wasn't in use due to the building work so parked on front in loading bays which was suggested by reception so could be an issue if any local enforcement decide to visit. The hotel could have pre warned of the parking in their emails almost daily leading upto our visit. Would stay again.

"Great Place"
jillypritchard, 10 Janvier 2020

I recently stayed here for 2 nights. I held my Mums 80th Birthday Party here and i had 0ver 20 guests staying at the hotel. The staff were fantastic, Judy who was my point of contact at the hotel was amazing and everything went as it is promised. The rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was delicious.Thank you to all who helped make this a night to remember for my mum

"Loved it ! "
J2006NQdanb, 03 Janvier 2020

Stayed here New Year's Eve as we were in the area for some local runs. Where do I start..... The room we had was lovely with a cracking view over the promenade. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Now the main bit...... THE FOOD We had booked the accommodation and fine dining package. The ladies waiting on were delightful I have the fillet beef. Wow. Best beef dish I have ever had! My partner had the hake which was again delicious. Teamed with great starters and dessert I for once have nothing to grumble about. Oh btw breakfast was canny as well. Highly recommended!

"Nice hotel but the mornings are terrible."
LancashireScotsman, 23 Décembre 2019

Nice but noisy in the morning. Pleasant staff, nice bar. Don't think I would stay here again because of the noise from traffic in the morning. Parking was good, located behind the hotel. Overall stay was spoiled by the morning traffic.

"early christmas stay to see relatives"
Angela L, 17 Décembre 2019

Lovely to stay at this hotel again, was very pleased on arrival to be upgraded to a seaview room which by the looks of it had been upgraded so lovely and clean and spotless with beautiful views of the bay. Had breakfast this time and lovely breakfast again served in the restaurant overlooking the bay so very relaxing. Was lovely to be served breakfast freshly cooked to order. Also we dined in the Aspect Restaurant two nights and absolutely faultless and the staff very friendly and helpful a credit to the hotel

"Disappointing Christmas party night food"
Holidayhobbyist, 16 Décembre 2019

I was looking forward to the Christmas party night on the 12th of December. We were quite a big party but unfortunately couldn't be accommodated together, so we had to sit on two seperate tables which spoiled the ambiance for us.The party started well with a prosecco reception and a happy hour which finished at seven. On the plus side there was also orange juice for non drinkers. We were taken into the food room just after half past seven. We were served our food at 8:00 which was almost a half hour wait. The first course I had was a very tasty ham hock terrine, which had a very small piece of bread with it. The second course I had was a very tough ball of stuffed turkey which was wrapped in bacon. The blunt knife made it difficult to cut. The vegetables although cool were very tasty though, as was the gravy. My most disappointing part of the meal was the panacotta. I tasted it and it was very sour. I told the waitress that I thought it had gone off. She said "it was made with yogurt." I have had many a panacotta before as they are lighter than other deserts and have not had one made with unsweetened yogurt before. The waitress said she would ask if there was anything else or another one. The response I got was, that is how we do it at the Lothersdale and if you don't like it they are sorry. Well all I can say for an evening that cost £32, it was not a good response. I was very disappointed with both the main course and last course. The DJ however was very good and the staff were polite.

"Not A Christmas Party Night !!!!!!"
SASHASNAN, 13 Décembre 2019

Really disappointed in our Christmas party night @The Lothersdale Hotel part of The Best Western Group . We were a party of 18 anticipating a night of good food , Christmas party atmosphere and fun happy staff. However on arrival after being kept waiting 30 mins we were seated on 2 separate tables !!!! The whole point of the night was to celebrate together. Move on to the food ----- starters best thing of the night followed by mains which by the time the veg was served was cold . Why put turkey in a parcel with such indiscriminate stuffing you couldn't guess what was in it? top this off with undercooked fatty bacon . Not exactly the Christmas offering we were expecting a lady who had ordered the alternative Roast beef got a mashed up ball of something that could have been beef but not as you know it. Through out we were subjected to the Maitre De walking up and down with a distinctly un- friendly face anxious that we were finished ???? no hanging about here or savouring the moment ha not that we would have any way . Dessert was mediocre you cant really spoil xmas pud/sticky toffee or choc brownie but hey since the was panacotta made from sour yogurt? 3 courses in 45mins think they were out to break a record . I won't go in to the bar prices but rest assured not all highway men wear masks. The D J kept the hits flowing and to be honest he was best part of the night. No Christmas tree or decorations in the room , black napkins for a Christmas party why would you ???? We went out to enjoy each others company and have a good time which we did-- but no thanks to The Lothersdale who should have done so much better -our verdict poor value for the cost of the set head price and we won't be going back . As a foot note the mirror in the ladies toilet was so high up the wall no one under 6ft could use it.

"Comfortable and friendly"
Voyage559704, 12 Décembre 2019

Booked as a birthday treat for husband. Hotel was a bit dated but comfortable and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the Aspect Bar and Bistro which was good but not as hot as it should have been; breakfast was, however, very good - and hot!

"Dreadful food"
Catherine B, 04 Décembre 2019

Just had Xmas lunch with friends and the food was dreadful. My dish wasn't ready when others were ready to eat so had to wait ten minutes. Credit due to waitress who took veg back to warm for me. However nothing could improve the beautiful looking veg as they must have been blanched then kept warm for several hours. A waste of fresh looking veg that could have been so good but weren't. The food was cold and the roast potatoes were stale. Such a shame as the hotel looks great with wonderful views across the bay. The room we were in was not war as the heating was not on?!? I really can't go on but I will not eat there again

"Cosy & Welcoming Seaside Hotel"
VikingVenturer, 04 Novembre 2019

I was originally booked to stay in the Morecambe Bay Hotel but they cancelled my stay due to flooding. So I was glad I could find alternative accommodation easily with short notice. I am familiar with Best Western establishments and they do indeed come in wildly varying shapes and sizes. This one is a little frayed at the edges and could do with some modernisation; the rickety old lift particularly comes to mind. That said, the room was immaculate and tastefully decorated and furnished. There was a commanding view of the bay too. The only niggle was the traffic passing could be heard even with the window shut. I liked the bathroom. It was fresh, clean and included a decent size bathtub, something Travelodge should investigate! Breakfast was served in the restaurant which has splendid views across the promenade. My vegetarian needs were catered for and the service was attentive and friendly. All in all excellent value for money. I would definitely consider staying again.

"No room to move"
baza6012520, 29 Octobre 2019

Our room was quite small,if sat at the desk you could not open the bathroom door in or out. I recieved an email saying check in time was 2pm when we arrived got told no it was 3pm. Just an hour to kill after our drive just wanted a rest. Told if we book breakfast the evening before it would be a spcial rate so we booked, only to be told when we arrive for breakfast not booked in, staff not helpful. We went somewhere else.

"Mixed bag"
Firebearer65, 30 Septembre 2019

Hotel is in good location. The breakfast is good - good coffee, nice bread for toast. Sadly, the room wasn't great. First room I was given was a very small double around the back of the building (really a single with a 3/4 bed in), décor dingy, tiny bathroom, toilet seat had no lid. Worse thing though was the smell - musty, stale, BO type smell. Tolerated it for one night, helpful staff found me an alternative for the remainder of my stay. Alternative room much better, brighter and fresher. One question for these hotels (I travel a lot for work) do you also put those on government rates in the least salubrious rooms?

"Over priced."
Unhappyyyyy, 18 Septembre 2019

On arrival i was met by a lovely friendly lady on reception, booked a room with a Seaview and I got a view through a blown window, couldn't sit and look at the view. Room extremely tired, lumpy bed, cups on the tray has obviously not seen soap and water for a while as they where sticky and reeked of coffee. A grotty spare yellow blanket screwed up on a shelf out of the plastic storage bag that was just left hanging from the shelf. I wasn't informed about the free parking so ended up messing about later that night after I came back ringing to book it in the car park across the road. No WiFi for the majority of my stay....I went to reception and mentioned not being told about the parking and the WiFi not working but didn't even get an apology from the guy in a suit behind the desk who obviously doesn't like talking. The information card in the room says bottled water is available from reception, I went down early evening and had to ring the bell for attention and the bar man came down to answer it so obviously nobody on reception..he told me I had to go up to the bar for the water..not very friendly either. The card says 1 litre and 500ml bottles available..... infact they only have 330ml bottles available at a price of £1.60... The bathroom has obviously been updated and was nice but the bedroom let it down..the carpets need a good hoover and definitely a shampoo as my feet where filthy after walking around on it..bedroom door needs a good scrub and tidying up. The bathroom really needs a handrail over the bathroom as I struggled with getting in and out of the shower due to a bad back....I feel it's a big safety problem... Rather concerning is the lack of fire exit signs, the card on the back of the door is useless and directs me down the corridor yet I open my door and there is a door directly opposite with a fire exit sign on....??? if there was a fire people can get panicked and disoriented especially as there are no exit signs above doors or arrows pointing the way out just a sign on a door but nothing pointing anyone to it... I wouldn't stay again because of all of the above and the over priced cost.

"Actual human poo all over floor, bed and walls"
wanderer2012, 18 Septembre 2019

I travel frequently and around the world for business and Lea sure purposes. This is quite possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. They would have received a bad review for the rude staff, the noise in the room, the outdated decor and the musty smell everywhere in the hotel. However, that was all completely overshadowed when I returned to my room on the second day, to find actual human poo smeared all over the floor, bed and walls, a used condom on the bedroom floor a staff members name badge on the bedside table and a dirty tampon in the bath. When I went down to reception to complain, the rude staff laughed in my face and tried to say that myself or my business associate must have been responsible. They said it would have been impossible for staff to do this in my room. I said I needed to move to another hotel immediately. They refused to provide a refund.

"Leisure"
m1ack, 17 Septembre 2019

We stopped here on the way up to Scotland. Very accommodating hotel. Staff were very experienced, from Margeret on the front desk. To the house keepers, waitress's/waiter. Food was excellent and well presented. One draw back, they have a wheelchair accessible room, but unfortunately not a wet room. So if you are like me that needs a wet room. This hotel is not for you. They are having a refurb next year. So hopefully they should have some. As l would love to go back to this hotel

"Cosy Hotel"

Must say one of the better hotels in Morecambe. Facing the Bay , superb views Pros Good wifi Good breakfast New toilets Nice views Good pub Onsite free parking Cons Lift is dated and slow Toilet is small Room not so spacious

"A wonderful break spoilt by an unhappy experience in the bistro"
Violet006, 20 Août 2019

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel until the last evening. Our upgraded room, although quite small had a beautiful view over Morecambe Bay. The room was well serviced and we enjoyed our breakfast each morning. We had an excellent meal on the second night but our meal on our fourth and last night was a huge disappointment. There were long delays to our order being taken and our meals being served. My starter was not cooked properly. We were dissatisfied with the response from management and our complaint to the owner of the hotel has not been responded to. I have written a full review of the meal on the Aspect Bistro and Bar page. Sadly, we shall not be returning to the hotel.

"Midweek family trip to Morecambe "
245james2017, 18 Août 2019

We decided to visit Morecambe for 4 days and booked into the Lothersdale Hotel online as it had good reviews. We arrived and found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. Our rooms were clean and tidy and had an excellent sea view. Breakfast was very nice. I had the full Lancashire cooked breakfast, whereas my wife opted for scrambled eggs with salmon. Delicious and very well prepared. The hotel staff really are it's greatest asset and it was a pleasure to speak with them, no glum faces or bad attitudes at all. The hotel did have a couple of points that needed attention, particularly concerning the lift and the cleanliness of the baby cot provided but overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would hope to return in the near future. Would reccomend

"Not the best "
fostmam, 18 Août 2019

Last minute booking after arriving in town. When we arrived at the hotel they said the booking still hadn't come through properly. They could see it but couldn't deal with it! Hung around reception for half an hour and they still couldn't check us in. Eventually I said if I could move my car into the car park I would just put my luggage back in the car and would check in after we had been in town. Great idea except car park was full by then!! Eventually several hours later when we returned we were given the keys to our tiny double room. Just because a double bed can be squeezed into the room it doesn't mean it should be!! Room was clean however the same couldn't be said about the teeny tiny shower room. Never seen such a tiny sink! Had a terrible sleep in the softest most uncomfortable bed I've slept in for years. Had to have a good long walk in the morning to ease my back pain. Staff were all lovely and I have to admit it wasn't an expensive hotel but then again it wasn't the cheapest.

"Weekend break"
Debbie F, 13 Août 2019

We had an amazing stay. Staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfast waa lovely. Views over the sea despite the weather were beautiful. Gin bar was amazing. Natasha was very knowledgable about the gins and mixers

"Good friendly service at an affordable price, but the rooms need some TLC."
Malcolm F, 12 Août 2019

It's a comfortable enough hotel, but some of the rooms are poorly ventilated and the bathrooms are rather small. On balance, not too bad, particularly the breakfast and evening meals were fine. The rooms are really in need of some TLC and updating. Just a bit of extra thought.

"Dirty dog haired tired executive room"
BradfordGlobetrotter, 12 Août 2019

We made a trip here hoping some of the reviews on here were not accurate. Unfortunately they were. Nice lady on reception tried to make up for things but the manager was playing hard to get. Room was full of dog hair(no pets hotel) and stains on bedding and carpets.I asked to be moved to another room but it was not much better. Dead flies, stains, dirty windows, crumbs trodden into carpets, holes in bedding. I refused to pay full price but customers beware they took a pre authorisation on my credit card and would not give any refund. Breakfast very average compared to other hotels and girl who was serving not very friendly. The lift to rooms is a health hazard.

"Fab views of the seafront"
GadgetGran, 06 Août 2019

Booked this for 13 of us lady bikers, on our way from Wales to Scotland. The reception staff were really helpful, and on their recommendation we booked in for dinner that evening - which was really nice. Our room was overlooking the sea-front, which was wonderful, but the main road was a bit noisy during the night. Luckily, I was so tired, it didn't keep me awake for long. Good breakfast. Safe parking for our bikes at the rear of the hotel. Would recommend.

"Not Happy"
Excursion15149069665, 05 Août 2019

We appear to have been bitten by fleas from our first night and have taken them home with us . caused us terrible discomfort, stress and cost for medication and spray to get them out of our house. The lift requires repairing and has been like this for a while. has a gaping space on entering and is noisy. Mattress is lumpy and not comfortable Noise from other rooms prevented a good nights sleep.Car park is too small.Sorry will not return

"rare weekend away"
skipdale2017, 05 Août 2019

The room was nice and big, could have done with quick dust and hoover before we arrived. These were only little things that we noticed. Staff very nice and friendly. The lift could do with someone to look at it very noisy and judders a lot.The bathroom on the small side for the size of room.

"Comfortable"
Steve E, 03 Août 2019

I stayed one night and enjoyed a quiet night. Cupboard space, nice bathroom. Parking was a bit tight: I got the last space of around 15 and had to climb out via the passenger side as I had to park right up against a wall. I ate in the restaurant and was very satisifed with the meal and service. Staff very friendly and helpful. ith cupboard space and a nice bathroom. Quiet night.Comfortable room w

"Good value for money"
oldsergeant, 28 Juillet 2019

Very good place for a two-day break. It was well situated at the quieter end of Morecambe,, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was perfectly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good, even if we had to wait a while on one of the days when it was busy.

"My 40th anniversary was not as we expected"
Mthomas37, 17 Juillet 2019

Upset ,as booking.com quick to take money ,when it said pay on arrival. Spoke to hotel who said breakfast would be included but it wasn't .got in touch with best western told booking .com at fault.. View was the car park, lift rickety scared to death ever time you'd to go up in it.the hotel needs to be refurbished as soon as possible the room we stayed in was very poorly decorated/ we used the stairs a lot because of the lift been bad but that needs repairing and redecorating

"Generally good, could do with a refurbishment"
Zaylie13, 05 Juillet 2019

Stayed here for a weekend, Friday night and Saturday night. We found the room a bit small, the food was good but not plentiful. This hotel is clearly popular for events like weddings and school proms so can be noisy. The breakfast was freshly cooked, but not included in our price, which was irritating.Generally clean, rooms not made up until the afternoon, but staff friendly and helpful.

"You get what you pay for"
Sue C, 02 Juillet 2019

Be very careful before booking a function here. We learned the hard way. Our evening was totally ruined by a lack of communication from the management of this hotel. What we were promised was not delivered, and what should have been conveyed to us PRIOR to the event could have been done via a quick telephone call. When we did complain on the night we were told 'you got what you paid for. We certainly did, I thought the price was too good to be true. You pay cheap you get rubbish. Extremely shoddy management. If you have any concerns don't expect any empathy. Lesson learned.

Just been to this hotel for week on arrival room wasn't ready so we waited in reception when room was ready we went up in lift which juddered like mad the room was nice inside it was very clean .in evening went to eat in restrant the food was lovley on the Monday I invited 6 friends to come have meal with us the food was excellent but I have to say over the week we were there all the staff lacked in hospitality skills in morning u got room number then they just walk away u found table then someone come say any cooked breakfast that was it. Iv worked in pub trade you have to chat to jo public ie good morning how are you today would u like any cooked breakfast and then afterwards did u enjoy that but sorry to say there was more fizz in flat bottle pop on the Friday evening the hotel had booked funeral wake in so no guests could eat or drink in the hotel the kind of people at the wake made u feel very intimidated we didn't even go out room the swearing glass smashing went on till midnight our room was at back off hotel the entrance to hotel car park was under our room the door banged every few minute they were all swearing shouting on car park as well as in hotel very frightening as my partner walks with crutches we thought it best if we just stay in room . I will say the Scottish lady on reception was lovley she had a personality needed her in resaraunt show the rest of them how to treat people the cleaners were great as well so all in all was ok but could been lot better

"Nothing special"
kevinjames, 21 Juin 2019

Very average is my verdict. It wasn't up to the standard of previous BW hotels I've stayed at in the past. I booked a sea view room at extra cost, but it was tiny. I'd say about 3 by 7 metres at best. The bed was up against the wall meaning the mattress was lopsided. This happens when the mattress isn't regularly rotated. The room was very cramped with a hanging space for clothes. No wardrobe. It had a tiny TV on the wall. Tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits. The bathroom was an average size with shower over bath and the dreaded shower curtain! The sink was very shallow and led to overflows of water onto the floor. I found the hotel to be very dated. There is a lift to the upper floors, which is just as well as I found the stairs to be quite steep. The eatery is very small but has nice views of the seafront. The tiny bar on the other hand was dark and depressing. Breakfast dining was oversubscribed. There are options of continental or cooked breakfast, which isn't a buffet. The cooked breakfast was dry, with one of each item. The coffee was awful instant coffee and if it was filtered then something had seriously gone wrong. I left the pot on the table after a sip. Parking at the rear of the hotel is very tight. I was lucky and got the last space at 5pm. There is parking on the main road at the front of the hotel, but these are designated loading bays from 8-6pm. There is a council pay park and display opposite the hotel next to the RNLI. I won't be returning.

"Afternoon tea"
Tanya W, 20 Juin 2019

I've visited here today for a friend's birthday, my first time even though I live in Morecambe. Could not have been more disappointed. I had tried to book through Groupon for the afternoon tea but it wasn't working so booked directly through the website. Once I arrived I was told you have to book 24hours in advance for this (my mistake as it did say on the website). However the response to me saying id booked directly via their website but saw no option to book for afternoon tea was I "should have rang" and shrugged shoulders. My pizza was average at best. The customer service was pretty much non existent. Certainly not what you expect from a Best Western Hotel. Very disappointing, certainly won't be rushing back.

Nice clean hotel. Good location on seafront. Very good breakfast cooked to order. Could have possibly been offered a room with sea view as there were only a few guests and the hotel clearly was nowhere near full. Arrived at 2.20 pm but unable to check in until 3 pm so we had to leave our bags in reception and go for a coffee. It would have been helpful to have been told at check in that the keycards have a time limit and will lock you out of your room after 10.30. Otherwise a nice hotel.

"Stop in Morecambe"
docdave11, 18 Juin 2019

When you have driven for 5 hours up the M25/M40/M6 you arrive at an unattended reception with a bell to press. After 10 minutes I rang the hotel by phone and the receptionist came ...and apologiesed saying she was busy. The room was small, and dated. The outside fan was on till 11pm making a loud noise and you could hear your neighbours in the next room. The fruit at breakfast was several weeks old and when the waiter took it back a few more apples were added to the pile with the crinkled fruit still below. Avoid

"Pleasant stay"
rearingtogo, 31 Mai 2019

The room was comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The room area was adequate for our needs,we did not feel crowded. The bathroom was small, but very clean. The restaurant/bar area overlooked the bay. Plenty of seating ,whether you were wanting a drink or a meal. Th He parking out the back is challenging but doable..

"1st visit to the hotel and the area."
Debbie M, 31 Mai 2019

Clean, bright and reasonable value for money. Staff were very friendly and took time to chat and take interest in their guests. Our room was adequate for our needs although the bathroom was a little small. Your head could touch the wall whilst you sat on the loo!! Not idea for my fella who is over 6ft tall. Not the best view out of the window, across the car park and rundown buildings, but this is out of the hotels control. It was nice to not have to pay for parking for a change so that was definitely a plus point. Breakfast was prompt, cooked well and plentiful. One of the younger male members of staff in the dining room could do with a little more training to get over his obvious nerves whilst taking customers orders. We don't all bite. lol On the whole we were pleasantly surprised.

"short break to visit family"
Angela L, 06 Mai 2019

what a little gem this hotel is always stayed in Lancaster before will definetely stay here again. Lovely clean room on the sea front and close to amenities. Dined in the Aspect restaurant and that is fantastic, good value for money and the food excellent very good value for money excellent menu and waiting on staff the friendliest I have seen in along time

"Weekend break"
Happiness14779091727, 29 Avril 2019

The Hotel is in a good location, handy for walks, shops, bars etc. All the staff we spoke to were polite and helpful. The room was nice, would probably pay extra for a view if we stayed again (we overlooked the back street / bins etc.) We didn't enjoy the cooked breakfast but there was the option of cereals, toast etc.

"Break away"
r r, 15 Avril 2019

Lovely hotel. Breakfast really nice. Staff friendly, helpful & polite. The gentlemen at breakfast were very professional. Nice & quiet. Lovely sea views from the restaurant. Would definitely return. Rooms clean with everything you would need.

"Stayed many times "
BMorriss, 10 Avril 2019

While working in the area I always stay here, I find the place clean warm and bright. The staff are very helpful and always with a smile. Located on the front near to pubs and restaurants. Free WiFi , parking at the rear.

"Nice hotel , good location"
Robert F, 08 Avril 2019

Looking round Morecambe at other hotels us , left us satisfied we had made a good choice. The Best Western is in an excellent seafront location , just a short walk from the town centre. The breakfast was very good and our room was very spacious and clean. We would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Morecambe as it looks better than most of the hotels nearby.

"Excellent value for money"
Pioneer67227478509, 02 Mars 2019

Hotel was on the sea front, within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants & pubs. Excellent value for money, staff were very friendly & the room was very clean. Would definitely stay here again, thank you.

"Great weekend"
Jim M, 27 Février 2019

Two comfortable nights, lovely lady on reception and car parking which was great. The hotel was warm, had a lovely bathroom and shower and we heard little noise during our two night stay. The main drag was a few minutes walk and a number of the local pubs had live entertainment on. Can't fault this premises I will certainly be coming back to it if ever in Morecambe again.

"morecambe bay"
Navigate30751326683, 26 Février 2019

I love Morecambe bay i like the views and i booked a superior room at this Best Western to get a sea view i was not disappointed watched the sun setting turning everywhere red and woke up next morning to that view over to the lake district. I only stayed one night i wish i had stayed more but i will be back. Good hotel staff are great food is good Morecambe a bit run down like all seaside towns and it was February but the weather was great.

"Beautiful location - breakfast was delightful watching the mist rise over the hills."
Angie S, 14 Février 2019

The rooms were adequate and extremely clean - next time I will pay extra for a sea view. Breakfast was very good, all fresh ingredients and lovely bright orange egg yolks. Our only concern was the bar menu. It advertises 'tapas' which suits me as I cannot eat large meals but this is no longer available. No sandwiches or soup either. Disappointing.

"Building work"
Bomber1001Bury, 13 Février 2019

We stayed here last weekend and were suddenly woken by builders in the room above at 9am on a Sunday morning. Yes Sunday. Planned work as well. Banging, drilling, sawing, the lot. We were offered £7 compensation, staff were rude. I asked for a manager to ring me re this issue but no one has so I just rang them. No apology and no refund. Steer clear of this hotel and choose another as there were other issues also.

"Lothersdale Hotel"
darrenmoldham, 29 Janvier 2019

The hotel is being improved from what seems to be a "seaside" hotel. The lounge, bar and restaurant are really nice and the food is magnificent. The only thing I would say is that as a BW 3 star hotel a few things would need changing - the door in my room let a lot of light in at night. There was also a bit of a strange smell from the bathroom but this disappeared after a day. Otherwise the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. Would stay there again, no problem and I commend them for the changes they have made. I guess upgrading a hotel isn't cheap so if it takes a little time then so what.

"Typical seaside town experience ..."
machinmad, 20 Janvier 2019

This is a typical seaside 3 star hotel. The fabric of the building has seen better days, but its generally clean and tidy ... however, be aware the hotel layout is higgelede piggildy. Our room was reasonably furnished and tidy, but there were some niggles like the kettle doesn't fit under the tap, the radiator was not working (it was -2 outside) and the duvet was so small it did not cover two people in the bed. Wifi was strong, so was the TV signal. The small car park is round the back down narrow back-streets. All the crew are friendly, smiley and want to do a good job serving you. The cold buffet breakfast in the morning was reasonable, with plenty of nuts which I like, but my scrambled egg was scraped off the bottom of the pan, which was not pleasant. We got a deal so I adjudge what we got as just about reasonable for the price paid, but I'd not have been happy if I'd paid the full-rate.

"Afternoon Tea overlooking the sea"
eileentwoodhouse, 18 Janvier 2019

As we live in Morecambe my friend and I often visit The Lothersdale Hotel/Aspects Bar. It is situated in the centre of Morecambe on the promenade. I last went there for Christmas Day lunch however we have had some lovely evening meals there or we have just popped in for a coffee but we had never had Afternoon Tea which we had promised ourselves ages ago. When we arrived we were shown to our seats in the Aspects Bar area overlooking the sea with the Lake District in the distance. A delightful, friendly waitress called Kelly was very attentive throughout asking us if we would like any more coffee or tea etc. My friend who is vegetarian had let them know beforehand so our sandwiches were already served on our own plates which I thought was an excellent idea. On the cake stand was scones with ample jam and cream (that you spread on yourself), lots of little cakes and a lovely mousse type desert each. As we were full, I ended up taking some cakes home with me in a little brown paper bag that the waitress had given me. My friend and Iwill definitely be visiting again!

"Pleasent hotel with good restaurants "
Steve B, 18 Janvier 2019

The hotel and its staff do their best to please despite the limitations of the building. The food in the restaurant is excellent in quality and value. The hotel has had a refurbishment however there are limited options with a building of this age and style (do not use the lift unless you need the thrill of an adrenaline junky) stairs are better for you anyway. I would recommend this hotel to couples and single travelers alike not so sure for families.

"Good location, nice layout, rude staff"
Michaelbowler27, 17 Janvier 2019

The location of this hotel is great with it being by the prom. The hotel itself is also really lovely with big rooms, nice bathrooms and a cocktail bar. However, I found the staff to be very rude, especially the lady behind the front desk. Not accommodating at all and in fact ruined my visit, which should have been relaxing and stress free due to it being for business purposes! I was spoken to in a disrespectful way on multiple occasions. If you can get over a rude member of staff, then yes this hotel is great.

"Awesome experience"
Michael W, 15 Janvier 2019

My wife was speaking at a ladies meeting and I was on taxi duty. I had four hours to kill in the hotel. Amongst other things I decided to eat and had an Aspect Burger. It was literally one of the best burgers I've ever had and the chips were perfect as well. The staff were helpful, kind, attentive and welcoming, especially Hannah. I know it's only a burger but it was great!

"Challenging nights sleep"
BuffyRocks, 04 Janvier 2019

Stayed here for one night, room was very small and mattress sagged at one side making you roll out. En suite was cramped. Upstairs in the hotel was particularly run down. The lift was interesting! Goo off street parking. Did not eat in the restaurant. Probably would not stay here again if in the area.

"Great visit. "
12SheilandVin, 26 Novembre 2018

I stayed here as a solo visitor. The hotel has undertaken a refurbishment which means it is new but in an old shell. The price is reasonable the breakfast great. Room was clean, the shower was great. I would definitely stay again.

"Good value for money"
rd3audi, 14 Novembre 2018

Stayed for one night , looks a little tired but room clean , great shower , bar good , staff lovely , breakfast excellent I would use it again for business and short stay Dinner menu in bar was in my opinion limited but what I ate was lovely

"Poor hotel"
Curiosity15776909291, 12 Novembre 2018

Horrible experience , noises coming from kitchen ventilation , radiator not working in room , electric heater had smoke coming out of it , poor staff , terrible bar / lounge , dirty room , smelly bathroom

"Disappointed with best western "
mariocF8297NE, 11 Novembre 2018

Very disappointed with this hotel especially for the price paid more money for king size superior room and bed it was awful ,small room ,bed was two beds pulled together which sunk and big ridge in middle of join en-suite toilet was tiny you had hardly any room . The hotel is very outdated and tired on the plus breakfast was very good nice views but not worth paying premium money use it but needs to be cheap don't expect anything extravagant

"Lothersdale, more like Loathsome"
Mark-from-Beverley, 04 Novembre 2018

only stayed one night thankfully, I'll never stay here again, the owner seems to think he's basil faulty but without the charm!! Parking is very limited and being on the sea front if you don't get a spot your stuffed, the food was awful too.

"Good view shame about the rest"
Tony O, 30 Octobre 2018

Great view of the bay. However you don't spend all day looking at the view. We had a very small room. There were hairs on the toilet. Very poor sound proofing, if anyone snores in an adjacent room, you will hear it. A bone shaker of a lift. Pay a bit more and stay somewhere nice.

"Great hotel on Sea front"
kevinly0n, 29 Octobre 2018

Good hotel right on the sea front. Staff are very helpful. Rooms are slightly dated but comfortable and clean.Free parking is available on site at the rear of the hotel.Breakfast was very good with little or no waiting.

"Great location"
1andrea17, 14 Octobre 2018

Hotel located centrally for everything, parking limited but were lucky and got a space. Twin Room on ground floor was great only problem beds were a bit creaky. Breakfast was a bit of a calamity on the second day more order needed with the service however food was lovely also ate in the restaurant and burger was really tasty. Plenty of gins to choose from in the bar and views are amazing. Thanks to Margaret in reception for all your help.

"Well worth every penny!!"
clairelouise21x, 14 Octobre 2018

Stayed here last night with our two daughter's, booked two rooms and both were lovely and spotlessly clean. Comfy beds, friendly staff and cocktails £4 in happy hour (well happy 3 hours!) - would we stay here again? - definitely!!

"A loverly place to stay"
Stephen H, 02 Octobre 2018

Having read some of the existing reviews for this hotel I was filled with a little intrepidation but I hadn't have worried. On arrival o was greeted warmly on reception and given a key to a decent enough room but the best surprise was the professional and friendly welcome given by ‘Dan' in the upstairs bar and restaurant. I could not be more pleased with the service and the food. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend the place.

"Average hotel which provides good food"
Leodis57, 28 Septembre 2018

I was a little disappointed in the hotel as it is a Best Western and they are usually of a good standard. The common areas looked in need of refurbishment. We booked a superior room with a sea view; the room itself was acceptable but the shower/toilet was very small making it difficult to turn round. The best feature of the hotel was the food which was of a very good standard. We ate twice in the bar area where you could choose from the bar and restaurant menus. The staff were friendly and helpful in the bar (and restaurant at breakfast time) and at reception.

"Nice little stay"
Adammichael91, 22 Septembre 2018

Had a really nice little stay in this hotel, was clean and tidy. The downside was it's very old so everything creaks, doors, floorboards, you name it! Which is annoying when upstairs move around as you can hear everything! The food in the restaurant was very good and would definitely return for a cheap night away.

"Ghastly creaky and dated beyond quirky"
Rue96, 13 Septembre 2018

Firstly the staff are very nice and pleasant I cannot and will not fault. But .....the beds are awful, cheap and way too hard. The walls paper thin and you can hear everything, there is a constant tapping from somewhere in the hotel that resonates in the room I am writing this at 5:40am not had a full constant hour of sleep just snatched half hours here and there, and I normally sleep like the dead! The cold water is non existent, tv remote covered in? I hate to guess, the light coming from the door frame is like a scene from a poltergeist movie and lights the room up. Towels are now used to block it out. I cannot wait to go to work today so I can get out of here, still have one more night to go, I am seriously considering not staying the other night and paying for a premier inn out of my own pocket in the next town, at least it's modern and of decent quality with comfortable beds, I never liked the 70's and staying here takes me right back. I hate giving negative reviews but I cannot recommend this Best Weston at all. Truly ghastly the only saving grace is the sea front position but sleep in your car overnight in the sea front car park. It's more comfortable and you won't hear the world around you talk, snore, fart, pee, cough, breath, and walk the creaky plank.

"First impressions ! "
Susan1921, 13 Septembre 2018

Booked this for a weekend break. First impressions were really good when checking in. All done and up in the lift. This was quite a scary experience, only four people, I case and two hold-alls and it was very rickety, very..... Down the corridor and into our room, first impressions, a nice room, ensuite was the width of the shower cubicle, sit on the toilet and you bang your head on the wall, so best to sit at an angle! The toilet roll holder is by the shower so remember to move it closer to the toilet. Shower time...... a luke warm shower was not what I wanted or expected and for the whole weekend. There's nowhere to hang the towels in the bathroom either. Walking across the bedroom floor without shoes is not advisable as I trod on something sharp which was a broken ring, there was clumps of hair on the carpet. If there is a function on they clearly need to put more staff on in the kitchen as the wait for breakfast was very long and the sausages looked undercooked, but the previous day breakfast was excellent also the evening meal was delicious. On the good side the bed and pillows were so comfortable, the bars were really nicely decorated and had Happy Hour but only for certain drinks. All the staff here were so very nice and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and the housemaids made sure you had plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and toiletries in the room. I did mention a few of the faults at reception when we left and an apology was given. Let's hope it improves, but I doubt I'll see this as I won't be going again

"Great for Grannies."
Roderick L, 09 Septembre 2018

I wanted a cheap, clean hotel for four people to rest their heads. We got a cheap, clean hotel to rest our heads. Rooms are tired and dated, as is Morecambe, but they were clean and they had all that everyone expects from any hotel room. I can't say much more. We wanted to sit and enjoy a cool beer in the nicest part of the hotel, the outside terrace but, they were closing at 21:30 hrs. The staff were nice about it but still? So my Son and I had to stand on the pavement at the front door to enjoy the evening air.

"Very surprised "
Lee W, 29 Août 2018

Since 16 I've travelled with work as well as pleasure and I've stayed in many a hotel and many a Best Western around the world, however many UK Best Westerns are below par. The company I am working for today had booked me in this hotel so I arrived with basic expectations, however I am very happy, clean and present room, very good shower and apart from the police going past at 7 ish with full blues and 2's even though there was nothing else around a very peaceful night. Arriving in breakfast to very pleasant and professional staff who cared. Food was well cooked and presented and for once hotel poached eggs were perfect. (Chef Kev happy when informed of this), staff Paula, Sam Matthew couldn't do enough and I will be back when over this side of the hill again. Thanks guys!!

"Overnight visit"
maureen u, 28 Août 2018

Have stayed here before overnight when room was a little dated, but the room this visit had obviously been refurb. It was in the hot weather with no air-con but they did provide a fan which helped a little but noisy for sleeping. Staff excellent, very friendly and breakfast very good and will keep you going all day. Position very good right on seafront.

"Very Nice Hotel"
CJB147, 21 Août 2018

Not a bad hotel at all. We booked direct and got it a little cheaper and breakfast was included. The room was a little small but it was nice and clean, ok for just a nights stay. The breakfast was nice lots of choice. When I booked I did request a room with a sea view but we were at the back, which was a shame really. For what we paid it was ok, no problems at all. Even if you couldn't park at the back there was lots of parking at the front. The receptionist in the morning was lovely really helpful and very pleasant.

"Would highly recommend"
Patski64, 06 Août 2018

This hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were excellent and helpful and the bar food and breakfast were really nicely presented and good. A very good price. Right on the bay of Morecambe and within a couple of minutes from town centre.

"Lovely hotel"
Megan F, 24 Juillet 2018

A lovely hotel on the sea front with really lovely staff. Food is fabulous and the young girls in the restaurant were very helpful. Small car park at the back but there was plenty of parking outside at the front and the veranda is great to watch the sunset with a cocktail in hand. We would be happy to stay here again

"Nice view of Bay, Horrendous, dirty, dated hotel"
Kelvin A, 24 Juillet 2018

Without doubt the worst place I have ever stayed. How this place can be called a best western is laughable. I had originally been planned to stay here for 10 nights but decided to leave after just one as I simply hated every moment I spent there. The only good thing I can think of to compliment the place is the view of the Bay from the rooms located at the front. I can honestly say I have stayed in better, cleaner, nicer B&Bs in Blackpool when I have been away for boozy weekends with the lads. From getting in the lift which felt like I was trapped to getting to my room was enough to put anyone off. The lift felt unsafe to say the least, when I arrived at my room I couldn't believe how dated the room was. It was literally quite disgusting, with filth and dust all over. I decided not to let this put me off, and thought I would give the food ago in the restaurant. Unsurprisingly, the food was an absolute disaster, I asked for my steak medium rare, and of course it came well done like an old boot, full of gristle and fat. When asked if the food was ok by the clearly inexperienced waitress, I said that it was far from my expectation and that the meat was horrendous, at which point the waitress, and later the manager, both used the meat provider as an excuse….surely if they know the steaks provided are so bad, then why continue to order from them. My pint of Stella was also warm and flat. By this point I had no option but to go back to my room and try and get some sleep. The room was absolutely boiling hot, I understand that in July when I visited, was a particularly warm time of the year as the whole country was experiencing a heat wave, but it made my stay even more uncomfortable as there was simply no ventilation or air conditioning. I believe my company were paying £140 a night for me to stay at this hotel which is absolutely ridiculous. I personally wouldn't pay £30 to stay here out of my own pocket. That night's sleep was minimal as my room was situated directly above the hotel bar, which people were in till late. Thankfully I remembered I had some ear plugs in my bag which I used for work, so I decided to put them in which helped for a little while. Un till, I was woken up at 3am by other guests partying next door and making a racket on the landing, using it as a communal get together area. These guests were up all night, eventually calling it a night at 5.15am were I heard them say good night to one another. This left me with an hour and 15 minutes to try and get some sleep before getting up for work. How could managers or staff possibly let other guests get away with behavior like this? By this point I had already made my mind up that I would do anything I could to try and find alternate accommodation for the remainder of my stay in the area, and by doing so, made as much noise as possible when leaving to wake the other rude guests up at 6.30am. I would avoid this place like the plague in future. If you like awful food, and disgusting living arrangements then this is the place to be. The people who have put positive comments on here about this place must be deluded. The only nice thing about it is the view of the bay, and if you have a room at the back, you won't even get that.

"Pleasant stay"
Al R, 24 Juillet 2018

Managed to park in the small car park before going to reception. Check in was quick and very pleasant. Room had a sea view and was clean and satisfactory for my needs. When I returned at about 10 pm and tried to collect my key there was no one on reception. Having waited for 5 minutes the first night I saw my key lying on the desk and picked it up. The second night I walked up to the bar area and one came down to get it for me. Not too secure!!

"Food nice, service awful"
sarah33willow, 23 Juillet 2018

We went on a Sunday with a groupon voucher, for the price we paid the food was really good. Although I'm not sure I would of been too happy paying full price with the service provided, as we walked in we waited awkwardly for someone to notice us, I eventually asked a girl behind the bar who told us to stay where we are and somebody will come over shortly. I had to ask 3 times for a glass of wine, and received no apology. Not one member of staff smiled at us. They took our plates away without saying a word. It seemed all the waitresses were very miserable and unwelcoming. It was that bad it made a very awkward atmosphere, I'm not sure if this is the norm or whether it was because we had a voucher. Which is a shame because the food was nice

"OK for a stopover"
pecaille, 21 Juillet 2018

Hôtel correct in Morecambe in the sea front with a bar and a restaurant prices are ok but staff not that friendly Ask a room with a Seaview because the view on the car park is not that great Breakfast also average

"Stunning Views"
holidayaddict51, 20 Juillet 2018

We booked direct through Best Western rewards and got a great deal on the room and breakfast. We up-graded to a superior king size room and requested a sea view and this is what we were given- a fantastic view across the bay and the Lake District hills. The room was very nicely furnished and decorated in a bright modern style. Comfy bed, good bed linen nice modern bathroom with large walk- in shower and plenty of nice white towels. Also supplied with toiletries, hairdryer and a well-stocked hospitality tray. We had a drink on the bar's terrace which was lovely in the hot sunshine and drinks were good value during "happy hour" from 3-7 with Stella at £2.50 a pint and cocktails from the classic range at £4.00 each. We ate in the restaurant at night and had the "wine down" menu which is 2 courses and a bottle of wine for £40 per couple. The menu was limited as it was a Sunday but the food was quite good. Breakfast next day was excellent. Good choice from the menu and good quality with local produce. Some of the staff were very good, especially the lady on reception but waiting and bar staff do need a little extra training in customer service as they were a bit miserable.

"Fine for Just a Night"
CWW190763, 15 Juillet 2018

The hotel is in a great seafront location, and the bar and restaurant appeared to be doing good business when we were there. However, we neither dined nor had breakfast there so I can't comment on the food. Our bathroom, devoid of any towel rail and with just one hook, appeared to have been redecorated fairly recently, but the rest of the hotel had a somewhat tired air. Our room was on the ground floor at the front of the hotel and was a little noisy, both because of proximity to the bar, and also in terms of road noise in the morning. There was nothing fundamentally wrong with Lothersdale, but when compared with another Best Western hotel we stayed in just a few days previously, it seemed a bit lacklustre and pricey for the standard of accommodation offered.

"Great location"
hagster13, 03 Juillet 2018

Book in was very efficient, reception staff - very friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the seafront and very close to bars and restaurants. Eric Morecambe's statue is very close, too. Parking is at the rear and quite tight.

"Family meal"
caroledenny, 25 Juin 2018

Four of us went yesterday for a Sunday dinner, it was a groupon purchase. But I would of paid full price for the meal, it was excellent. The staff were very good , the venue would of been perfect for a wedding or a party of any kind. The meal was three courses with a glass of wine included, plenty of choices. I had a cheese soufflé as a starter, then roast beef finishing off with a brownie and ice cream dessert. The meal was perfect , I couldn't fault it

"Memory Lane"
missmeGlasgow, 12 Mai 2018

Stayed one night in this Hotel, not great. Checked into room 116 on the first floor overlooking the back door - very noisy. Bedroom had twin beds, very old fashioned and in a desperate need of refurbishment. The bathroom had been re furbished and was nice, although very small. One of the lights in the room was out and needed replaced. We found women's sanitary ware at the bottom of the bed which had been used -not what you would expect from a Best Western Hotel. Breakfast in the morning was ok.

"Excellent value beachfront hotel"
pwilson8, 07 Mai 2018

I think there are quite a few mischeous reviews against this hotel on here.I stayed here with my wife on the sunday bank holiday and had an excellent time. The weather did help as it was stunning. We upgraded to a superior room with sea view which was excellent.Stunning views of the bay and lake district mountains in the background. The room was well equipped with a large mondern shower area in the bathroom. There was also the new "handy" phone in the bedroom on its own charger unit.First time I have seen this an android phone you can take around with you and make free calls use the intetnet etc.provided by the Hotel.Nice touch. The cocktail bar terrace was a bonus especially on a sunny day but not many tables...so need to be quick. We took advantage of the happy hour on cocktails 3pm -7pm which were very reasonably priced at €4 Stella beer £2.50.and sat on the terrace in the late afternoon enjoying the sunshine. In the evening we ate in the restaraunt and had the local spicy shrimps as a starter and both had sirloin steak as our main, one with pepper corn sauce and one with blue cheese. Both courses were excellent unfussy good quality food made from local produce. The bonus was for me the pepper sauce! Amazing how many times I have had this combo and its been let down by the sauce but this was the best I have had for a long time...I need the receipe!Breakfast was also excellent again great local produce..sausages bacon and black pudding in particular. One slight negative morning staff were a little miserable but it was 7am!All in all a good value excellent stay. Will definately return.

"Poor standards"
User, 07 Mai 2018

Unfortunately our stay at the best western left much to be desired. We were not informed of the parking facilities so had to pay for parking nearby, the lift was appalling and felt so unsafe we didn't use it again, bed sheets were torn and damaged, bed covers were stained and unclean, tables dusty from excessive lack of cleanliness, and the noise from neighbouring rooms was very loud. Beds were extremely uncomfortable, and WiFi didn't work. Wouldn't stay again.

"overview of hotel"
kdennis53, 16 Avril 2018

nice hotel good staff, well located although disappointed with Morcambe place is a bit of a dump poor town centre. restaurants average. lots of shabby house clearing shops. bayitself is nic3 good shore line walks

"Lovely break by the seaside"
loujj2017, 03 Avril 2018

Booked the hotel as visiting family in the area and was so impressed by location, and value for money. 100% recommended, the communal areas (especially the lift!) could do with an update but otherwise very enjoyable. Will return for sure.

"Great shower in the morning"
Deb T, 21 Mars 2018

But not much else going for the room. A 1980s time warp of MFI furniture which was tired, shabby and in a good need of updating and cleaning. Broken and dirty electric sockets and lumpy mattresses on the beds. Very disappointing.

"STUNNING views from our room"
Maggie M, 20 Mars 2018

We had a lovely overnight stay here. We paid more for a superior room with sea views - what a treat! Check-in was easy, and quick, and the staff on reception changed our designated room to one which would be quieter as well as offering better views - really thoughtful. The corridors were a bit old fashioned (that was ok - we weren't sleeping there!) but the room was ideal - nice size, modern and contemporary, rain shower as opposed to a bath, good quality beds, hospitality tray, and that view! Morecambe Bay has the most amazing sunsets. Breakfast the following day couldn't be faulted, very helpful and pleasant staff, and individually served food. So many hotels do a buffet breakfast, even for a full English, but the Lothersdale has waiter service which adds that extra individual touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break, and we'd happily return.

"Excellent and great value"
nlemecfc, 19 Mars 2018

Very pleased with our stay, the facilites, the staff, and the general ambience. We'd recommend it as an excellent hotel to stay at in Morecambe both for location and the hotel itself. We'll stay again next time we are in Morecambe.

"Friendly, Sea Front Hotel"
thesetter, 18 Mars 2018

I stayed in room 112 overlooking the bay. After being out in the snow and the bitter wind, the room was toasty warm and I soon recovered. Spotless bathroom, large room and comfortable bed. What more could you ask for? Well, the staff need to be interested and helpful, don't they? And they were. Very friendly and very helpful - all of them but Maggie and Dan deserve a special mention. Great value too.

"Very suprised after reading previouse reports"
kengolf28, 24 Février 2018

This hotel is clean well present served by help full staff, no real complaints other than, ordered papers that never arrived so cancelled the following days. Informed them that the wash basin was short of a plug, not fixed they could not get a plumber out?. At dinner ordered two sirloin steaks and only cooked one. Those at the facts, the rest is that this is a nice hotel just short of personal attention and an eye for detail. I would recommend this hotel and ignore my low marks

"Great staff,nice hotel "
Ian C, 13 Février 2018

Great hotel stayed here for 3 months to present working away and the staff make the hotel even better especially Laurie and Margret nothing is any trouble for them and always made to feel so welcome, best hotel in Morecambe

"Dirty room."
90adeler, 07 Février 2018

Dirty carpet, dirty net curtains, dirty skirting boards, husbands knees touched the wall in the loo.such a shame as staff are friendly and helpful and Morecambe is such a lovely place such a shame about the hotel.

"We stayed here for Lancaster and Morecambe GinFest 2018. "
Stewart S, 04 Février 2018

Our very first “GinFest”. We made a last minute decision to come and see what the GinFest was all about so booked into the Best Western Lothersdale for the Saturday night so that travel inconveniences didn't hinder the chance to make the most of this likely very educational evening... ?? It was brilliant, the Lothersdale hotel staff were super friendly and had us checked in very quickly. The sea view room was beautiful, with views right across to the western fells of the Lake District, all of which are covered in snow at the moment. Absolutely stunning, but the wife was keen to go and enjoy the view of 200 different gins in one room, so before I knew it we were down in the large function room surrounded by said 200+ different Gin's! We both also did the Gin Masterclass the hotel was running which was fun and of course we ate handsomely in the Aspect Restaurant and the food was excellent. Overall, just a fabulous unplanned Saturday. Roll on the next GinFest, and thanks to all the staff at the Aspect Bar and the Lothersdale hotel for their hospitality. First class service and fare. I used to work in Morecambe many years ago so have sampled a few hotels here, this was my favourite thus far. The restaurant deserves a separate review as the food here is extremely good... i guess It doesn't keep on winning all these awards for nothing.

"Perfect Hotel"
chriscamkeo, 22 Janvier 2018

We stayed at The Lothersdale from the 9th to the 11th January 2018 occupying five rooms. We had gone to Morecambe to attend the funeral of a family member. From the moment we arrived we were treated attentively and kindly. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were brilliant, in particular Margaret on Reception and the Restaurant Manager. We will definitely return.

"Great stay"
Falla-White, 22 Janvier 2018

Never been to a Best Western before, but due to having to get a room quickly and close to where I needed to attend a family funeral this was available. Ring up night before to see if room could have a bath which they were able to accommodate and staff were so friendly polite and helpful. Couldn't have asked for more staying there. Room had sea view comfy bed I slept very well ensuite clean and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was a buffet had plenty choices, and then u could have a full Lancashire breakfast- local produce and quickly served. Not greasy or fatty well impressed with portions and again service for all. They have a small car park around the back which was most useful and with the sea front just across the road it was a very pleasant experience. I will stay here again

"Lovely break"
Dave_S74, 20 Décembre 2017

We stayed at the hotel for a pre Christmas break on the 18th and 19th December the hotel staff where brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for any of them, there was a mix up in the restaurant when we ordered a £20 bottle of Proseco and we where served a £175 bottle of Krug Champagne, the restaurant manager said it's our mistake so just enjoy your drinks and he charged us the price of the proseco, the food in the restaurant was very nice and cooked to perfection, our room overlooked the promenade with fantastic views over Morecambe bay, we wish everyone at the Lothersdale Hotel a merry Christmas and happy new year and we will definitely return for another break.

"Food rubbish"
sandraheysham1, 19 Décembre 2017

We had our Xmas party here. The food was not good we had melon which was so hard it wouldn't cut with knife and fork. There was a lot on our table and we had to share 2 lots of veg. The service mixed up sweets so we didn't get what we ordered and the entertainment was boring. Won't go again it was better when it was family run

"Our stay"
David H, 09 Décembre 2017

We had superior room with a sea view and it was nice to walk up with that view. The room was clean and equipped to a good standard, the staff where very helpful as we also had a room for my 92 year old mother and we needed to make sure it had disabled facility's, this was a room on the ground floor and was very big it was easy for her to get accesses to the rest of the hotel. We had dinner in the hotel the food was excellent well presented and good quality, the same for breakfast very good quality and cooked fresh.

"Great value for money"
Karen D, 04 Décembre 2017

Just had a great weekend would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Staff very friendly, really enjoyed a meal we had in the restaurant. Breakfast was superb all locally sourced produce very tasty.

"Hotel for Ska Festival"
Gary H, 28 Novembre 2017

Unfortunately it is difficult to provide feedback on the Hotel as we didn't actually stay there, we were relocated to the Auckland Hotel on arrival as I was told the rooms were not available as two offshore workers had not retuned to vacate the 2 rooms and couldn't be contacted?? I find that difficult to believe as we had booked the rooms about 6 months in advance via the Ska Festival link! As stated previously, I booked the Hotel well in advance, expecting the rooms to be paid for at the time as provided by my debit card details, however, I received an email from Hotel Reception on Friday 3rd March at 2.30pm, saying my card had twice been declined, which again, I find very hard to believe as no issues with my card with anything else. I rang Reception and gave my card details and no problem, however, why would you leave it until the afternoon, the day before we were due, to contact me, suppose I hadn't read the email and turned up to be told you had not retained the 2 rooms and Festival tickets? It was also disappointing that we had other friends staying in the Hotel and although not far away, we had been separated! When I spoke to reception it was very off hand and not at all courteous! Not how I expected to be treated and when I asked about points, as a Best Western Reward member, I was told I would have to see the manager as they had no idea?? I had the distinct feeling our 2 rooms had been taken or double booked and that we felt very unwelcome, almost as though someone more important than us had the preference and just shipped out last minute! All in all, a very disappointing experience and will think again before booking with Best Western if this is how guests are treated!

"Basic "
lufc1986, 01 Novembre 2017

Stayed here end of October with my partner for a night , on arrival everything seemed ok , staff friendly, once checked in that's were the cracks began to show literally, very tired decor and cracks on the ceiling, banister very loose on one stair well , , rooms very basic but clean , first time at a best western hotel and probably be the last think we will stick to premier inn ,

"Perfect Location"
onepound, 29 Octobre 2017

Heading south and was going to stop at a motorway hotel, but drove into Morecambe, and found this one on my phone. Only a stop over but we had a twin room with sea views. Clean, all you could need. Friendly staff, Breakfast good. Did not have a meal but had a drink before bed. Would use again. Car park opposite, on street parking just between 6pm and 9am.

"Overnight heaven"
Andy P, 07 Octobre 2017

Super duper hotel, great staff, very helpful, fab room, great breakfast, very highly recommended. The place is clean, comfortable bed, stunning view across the bay, I think this is the number 1 place to stay in Morecambe

"What a rip off"
Kev012, 02 Octobre 2017

Two years ago we were in Morecambe and had a meal at the Lothersdale which was great, so we went back this time around, what a mistake. We popped in to book a table for 2 at 7pm on Saturday Evening, the receptionist said they were busy at 7pm could we make it 6.45pm or 7.15pm, we opted for 6.45. We arrived on time and chatting at the bottom of the stairs were the Manager and the Head Waitress, we passed them without a word of greeting from them. We entered the Restaurant and met by a young waitress, she had no idea what she was doing, she found the booking and told another waitress, they are marked for table 7 but someone is already at that table, she then said you will have to sit at this table, this was actually a table in the bar area. Our reply was no we have pre booked and that table is not acceptable, at this point the head waitress appeared and told them to split a 4 table into 2 two's giving us a window table. Menu's were brought, we were quite disappointed at the poor number of meals that were available at each course, not even a soup on the starters. I chose Cheese Souffle which was actually very nice and my partner had Prawn Cocktail (nothing much to go wrong there), they appeared with some butter and bread at the point where we had almost finished our starters. We both chose Steak for main, I had Sirloin and my partner ordered Rib Eye, both were ordered medium cooked, we also ordered a side of vegetables. To our amazement the mains were delivered plated. not what you would expect from a good hotel, although the steaks were pink, they were both very dry, accompanied with far too many chips, two halves of tomato, not even grilled or flash fried, a sprig of watercress and flat mushroom, the veg extra was overcooked. We had a bottle of Merlot to drink it was brought to the table, not even opened and left with us to pour ourselves without being asked to taste first. You can tell how uninspiring the sweets were, I can't even remember what we had. We had to get a waitresses attention to order coffee, there were 5 of them just standing around talking to the manager who had appeared. The cost of the above came to over £84 in total for a plated, just ordinary meal, we left feeling ripped off. On marking the little more about it, I can only put not sure as we ate in the hotel restaurant not Aspect.

"Great service"
Phil S, 23 Septembre 2017

Well done. I've been very impressed with the level of service here. The whole team has been friendly and attentive. Nothing has been too much trouble and they clearly get this from the management. The manger Paul has been fantastic and his team clearly enjoy their work. THANKS!!!

""Bit""
Keeny A, 17 Septembre 2017

Think the room had fleas as i got bit on my back more then once. Room very basic and not very clean, other people socks left under bed! Bar food and drink pricey for what u get. Good job work paid for the rooms or i would have wanted a refund.

"Lovely hotel with the best view ever."
Jeanne R, 09 Septembre 2017

Lovely hotel, on the beach front overlooking Morecambe bay, with the Lake District over the water. The most stunning view I have seen for ages. Get a sea view room. Comfortable twin room. I am ambulant , disabled. Parked in front of hotel, no disabled access, so drove round back, thinking well maybe better overnight in car park. Took us down a narrow ten foot into car park. Access through code locked door. Luckily staff were outside and gave us code to save trip around hotel. The access was tight for wheelchair, there were hanging rails carer had to move . Had twin room and had to move bed over to get wheelchair into room. Not a big problem , but thoughtless really. Would stay again, lovely quiet place , lovely staff. Wanted comfort food and restaurant not that kind. More gourmet, and Tapas as alternative. Found carvery down road. Only stayed one night but would stay again.

"Standard Hotel"
Carl T, 09 Septembre 2017

Hotel on front with stunning views over Cumbria and Morecambe Bay. Hotel was well presented, clean and comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Reasonable parking to the rear of the hotel. Easy to get to from the M6.

"Silver Anniversay follow on trip from Gretna Green"
_pcoy829, 09 Septembre 2017

The young receptionist was absolutely lovely, so down-to-earth and helpful. The hotel was recently renovated so our room was pristine, Seaview room so lots of light. The food was absolutely delicious and was certainly worth its AA Rose. Breakfast covered a good selection and a cooked to order choice. Morecambe itself is not particularly exciting however it's worth a visit and the art tributes to Morecambe and Wise at Weatherspoons in the city centre are worth a look. We enjoyed our walkabout from the seafront to the City Centre, however an overnight stay is enough.

"Birthday afternoon tea"
Margaret A, 06 Septembre 2017

Myself and two friends went to celebrate our birthday as we are within 5-6 weeks of each other. £14.95 which includes a glass of prosecco, but we just had soft drinks and coffee. Food was fresh and plentiful and delicious. Would definitely recommend for special occasions and a fabulous view of the bay too

"Great"
Andy W, 27 Août 2017

We have just come back from a weekend away in morecambe and at the lothersdale and we loved it. We went for my partners birthday treat and we was treated so well of the staff. When we got there we went to our room and it was a little small and my Mrs is clauster phobic and when we asked if there was a bigger room the lady on reception Amanda was brilliant and spoke to Paul the manager and they went off and found us a great room where she was happy and was so comfy aswell. Paul treated her to free cocktails for her birthday aswell and they are 10/10. We also met my mum for a meal in there on Saturday and was excellent aswell. Great place and great staff. Thanks guys for a great time and see u again.

"THE HOTEL WAS NOT A 3 STAR HOTEL FOM THE AA."
spink2017, 20 Août 2017

The room had mould on the walls crackes on the wall the bed was dirty light above bed dirty. The shower was not a walking had to step over it to get in the toilet was hanbing off the wall. The room was small not good if your a disable pers with a leg problem like me

"Not Bad"
ChrisBartram, 06 Août 2017

We stayed here using clubcard vouchers, and had been a bit put off by previous reviews, but took the view that if it was that bad we could go elsewhere. As it was, the hotel was fine. The staff were welcoming on arrival, and while the room was small, it was clean, the TV worked, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, drinks prices OK, view from bar/restaurant magnificent. Car park is a little bit tight, but if you're fussy about that, like me, there's a good public car park opposite that won't break the bank (at £3.20 for 10hrs, free overnight). I've not got concerns about the safety of the car park; I just don't want my car dented/scratched. If I was pushed, I'd have two minor whinges: the shower drain was blocked, so I had to pull the drain bit out to avoid a flood (the shower itself was very good though), and we were a bit annoyed to be asked to vacate a table in the bar in case they needed it for diners (who didn't arrive), and move to the Aspect 320 bar next door, which "is a bit more lively". It being noisy with R&B music being precisely why we'd avoided it. I can understand being moved from a dining area, but as I'm distinctly middle-aged, I definitely don't want "lively". Overall though, it's fine. Location is great- town walkable in 5 min, and while it's definitely not the best hotel I've been in it was OK, and not expensive.

"Noisey and rough"
DA_2011134, 17 Juillet 2017

I stopped here on my way up to Scotland thinking it would be a good place to stop. The location is opposite the bay, which is nice enough. The shops are all run down in the town, there are a lot of rough looking people hanging around. I went on a 5 min walk and was asked for change and drugs several times which was a bit horrendous. The hotel car park is down a very narrow bumpy road. I didn't feel my car was safe there. The room was very small. The tv had lines on it and barely worked. The bar was directly above with a hard floor and was very loud until late at night. The staff were not helpful at all, I interrupted their conversations to ask where to check in/ to get breakfast in the morning. The furnishings in the room were very dated. The room was very cold. I didn't sleep well at all. Overall this experience was terrible and I wouldn't go back.

"Wedding"
DebbieTierney, 17 Juin 2017

We recently had our wedding ceremony followed by our reception here at The Lothersdale Hotel. We could not have asked for a more perfect day from the room lay out the organisation, friendly staff, and a very high standard of food. We chose to have afternoon tea for our guests. The whole day was perfectly organised by the management team. I would highly recomend this hotel for such a function.

"Short changed!!"
23963300k, 15 Mai 2017

Took family on Friday 12th May for a meal. Can' t say how disappointed we were for the meager helpings we all got. You have to pay extra for potatoes and veg!! To top it all my wife was served with a Daqari which didn't have any rum in it. Ladies at the table next to us also complained about lack of rum. All my wife received was an appology on the way out. Not good enough. Will not be going again.

"Smell from hell "
moiras816, 06 Mai 2017

Friendly reception on arrival and a few members of staff were attentive and welcoming. That's it for the positive stuff! Everything else was awful to the extent I have returned home one day early. The hotel stinks of damp and sweat as soon as you leave the reception area. As we arrived in the corridor to our room we were met with someone fitting a new carpet and had to step over off-cuts and tools to get to our room door, then had to listen for an hour or so to hammering and banging of said carpet being fitted. Oh should also mention that this corridor has a large bump in the floor which I tripped over. The worst however was our room - really small and stank of what I can only describe as stale sweat. The tiny room we had has to be the worst I have ever stayed in - the duvet and pillows were rancid - not the fresh smelling bed linen you'd expect to find in a hotel. I didn't sleep - the overwhelming smell in the room was that bad. Avoid at all costs.

"Great position, pity about the room."
cressa_10, 01 Mai 2017

We surely got the worst room in the hotel. The position was great and reception and restaurant looked lovely. Then we got to the room. It was small and dingy. The carpet was dirty and the beds were badly made. The bathroom was clean but would have been better had I trained as a contortionist. The window opened over the back entrance. Smokers paradise but not ours. The door banged and the smoke wafted up into our room. Check out the stubs and old packets floating in the water outside the door. We were told next day we could have requested another room. True but it should not have been necessary. There will be no return and certainly no recommendation to friends. The worst stay of our holiday through Europe and UK. That room should be closed and not let to anyone else. I truly hope there are better rooms in the hotel. A disappointing end to our holiday. Sent from my iPhone

"Mini break"
Andy P, 27 Avril 2017

First time staying at this hotel, but won`t be the last. The staff are really first class, nothing is too much trouble, they are very polite, and always have a smile for the guests. The beds are comfortable, our room overlooked the bay, so had a stunning view. Breakfast is excellent, and a good varied menu. The restaurant, in the evening serves excellent quality food, albeit a little pricey, but it is obviously freshly cooked and certainly worth the wait. As with anywhere, if you look hard enough you can find a problem, when we had a problem, it was quickly resolved, without question, so top marks for customer service. certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone. Top marks to all concerned.

"Comfortable stay."
GuyRopeTrip, 27 Avril 2017

Spent a couple of comfortable nights here on business. It's a fairly basic hotel - nothing fancy, but clean rooms and comfy beds. Lovely views across the bay from the front rooms, but not such pleasant views from the back. Room 14 is over the bar, which means that the bass from the music in the bar is audible until about 10.30-11pm. Best to avoid this room if you want an early night. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

"Snow on the hills!"
Nigel C, 25 Avril 2017

Looking over the Bay at breakfast, snow on the hills. The staff were very friendly and the hotel comfortable and welcoming. Didn't order an early morning call; seagulls did that for me! Only comment would be that the kettle was large and difficult to fill but still used the tea/ coffee in the room. Lovely location and great for a wander along the prom before dinner and a drink in the well stocked bar. Overall very happy

"Very good"
Angela S, 23 Avril 2017

Lovely Sunday lunch with family overlooking Morecambe Bay. Good quality, good portions, reasonably priced and attentive staff. The starters of hot smoked salmon and Morecambe Bay potted shrimps were exceptionally good. I would recommend the Lothersdale Hotel if you want good food in a beautiful setting.

"Great staff"
Joan P, 10 Avril 2017

Arrived to find the lift out of order, no problem got a lower floor room, help with our luggage, nothing to much trouble, breakfast was really tasty, all staff went out of their way to welcome us, room was immaculate, would go again

"Aspect Bar &Bistro"
Gill T, 10 Avril 2017

We did not know that we had to book for afternoon tea as we just walked in and sat down to order but we had sat at a reserved table. When Paul Bowker came over to us. No trouble at all he took us to another table into the Aspect Bar and explained about afternoon tea was to book only . Then he made up a very nice order of sandwiches and scones and cream and jam and tea We had just a ride out on a lovely day from Harrogate. The Aspect Bar & Bistro staff were very happy in there work, and the service was first class. Paul Bowker is a credit to your company (Best Western) group) please say thank you to the Girls and Paul

"Nearly there...."
montanatr, 03 Avril 2017

Hotel clean and well equipped but parking can be difficult. Need to park at the front to check in and get security code. Parking allowed for 10mins in delivery bay and then move to private car park at back of hotel. Not big but otherwise convenient. Room we had was ok but rain gutter outside blocked and subjected to 'water torture' all night due to loud dripping noise on window cill. Reported to reception when booking out and they promised to sort it. Food in hotel reasonable price and good quality. Couldn't fault breakfast.

"Nice hotel good value"
Graeme C, 19 Mars 2017

The hotel is on the sea front ideally suited to enjoy Morecambe. Clearly Morecambe is now on the up after many years of decline. Lots of evidence of regeneration. We arrived before the 2pm check in time and the receptionist was friendly welcoming and efficient. We pulled up at the front to check in and then parked round the back after getting the code to access the rear door to the hotel from the car park. Our rooms were fine- no views but given the weather that wasn't a problem. Our room was a good size, comfy bed, tea/coffee, TV. Very nice bathroom- powerful shower, toiletries. Because it is not a new hotel it is a bit of a warren- lots of stairs and corridors. There is a lift but it does not serve everywhere.Work was in progress to improve the hotel. Good night's sleep. Down to breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the sea. I had a Full Lancashire- locally sourced and very tasty. My wife had pancakes bacon and maple syrup and my son had kippers. Tea or coffee plus toast. Orange juice cereals etc. Overall excellent value booking direct and recommended.

"Lovely hotel with parking"
chinchalk, 13 Mars 2017

Stayed here on business. The room was lovely very modern with a fabulous view over the bay. Food was very nice lovely modern decoration in restaurant . Staff very freindly nice touches in the room , pay the bit extra for a deluxe room so cosy. Breakfast was lovely great products. Would stay here again and would recommend this hotel. One of the best hotels in the area, close to most attractions short drive off of Junsction 35 M6.

"AppallIngly Arrogant Owner"
Mrsratters, 28 Novembre 2016

I had booked the function room at the Lothersdale Hotel a year ago for my 50th and at a cost of £500 for hir of the room alone. I had a few dealings with two members of staff Margaret and Candice over booking rooms for family etc, and they were both very helpful and very friendly. 4 days before my party the owner, Paul Berry rang me and asked me to confirm numbers as I had asked for 70 covers on the buffet and a 100 chairs and he wanted to know which was it. I told him that was it as not everyone would be eating and some were joking me later in the evening. He very abruptly told me that I had to cater for everyone coming so which was it. I stated 70 as not everyone would come in any event. The phone call ended with no offer of an explanation as to why. I had to ring back and ask why I had to cater for the number of chairs I had asked for and was told it was to do with licensing laws. During both these calls, the owner was abrupt, hgihhanded and dismissive of me. I rang Best Western head office and was told that they operate as a brand and the owner could run the hotel as he wished and maybe it was his local policy. They also apologised on his behalf. My friend, who was helping organising my do, and I then had a meeting with the owner Andrea queried the licensing laws he had quoted. He gave a very tenuous explanation to his reasoning and it was clear to us both it was about money, as the food was being paid for separately. My friend and I did try to get a more definitive answer regarding the licensing legislation he was quoting, but he could not be more specific. I have to say at this point I was regretting booking this hotel for my party, but it was too late to cancel, and besides which, I had paid for the room in full. On the evening, the bar staff were very friendly and professional but when the buffet did start to come out I did query the amount of plates which were out. I asked the staff about this as there didn't seem to be as many as I had asked for to be told they were under strict instructions not to provide mewith any more plates if I asked for them. Later on in the function it was clear there was a lot of food left Andy I was asking a member of staff if I could have it wrapped up am doing I would take it with me at the end. The member of staff was smiling and about to answer me when the owner walked past and told me curtly that I couldn't have the sandwiches as there are hygiene restrictions which had to be adhered to I felt they had been out a certain amount of time. I am not disputing that this should the case, but the manner in which he spoke o be was totally unacceptable. The member of staff looked to me to be embarrassed. Towards the end of the party I was told by a member of the bar staff that the owner was in the back eating some of my buffet! I would have happily challenged him on this but I didn't actually see him again, and if this is correct and he had, then he had absolutely no right! On a positive note, the room is a good room for a function, the staff were lovely and hard working, and the food was of a very good quality. Unfortunately this hotel is completely let down by its owner and there's is no way I would ever use this hotel again, nor would I recommend it to anyone to use, in fact I would positively recommend that they didn't. If Best Western run hospitality courses then they should get this owner on one swiftly, as this hotel should be described as Worst Western under his command.

"What a find"
Penny S, 27 Novembre 2016

We were heading to The Lakes after a hectic stay in Blackpool and chose it because it was on the seafront and the reviews looked good. It is a lovely hotel, very spruce and welcoming. The bedroom was really comfortable with great wifi (refreshing!!), but the best thing was the quality of food. It was a Sunday night, out of season, but we were welcomed warmly into the delightful dining area overlooking the bay. We were the only customers, but the food was so delicious and fresh! An offer of a free bottle of wine each too! (We were recommended to take one home!) The puddings were heavenly: chocolate ganache with home made ice cream to die for and honeycomb and chocolate 'soil'! Yum!! Lovely waiting staff!

"Poor room."
Geoff M, 23 Novembre 2016

Stayed 1 night B&B in room 10. Staff nice overall the hotel was of a good standard and clean. Breakfast was good. The room was fine until bed time. It was very noisy what with people being very loud in the corridors. It was like being next to a boiler house with the heating system very loud. The room door was not a good fit the gap around it let in lots of light, what with the floorboards moving when people walked passed our door. I don't think we will not be visiting again. At £109 for a sleepless night didn't seem worth it.

"Over night stay"
Graham R, 21 Novembre 2016

Really good hotel. I only stayed one night but had an excellent single room which was very clean, warm with first class facilities. The restaurant and bar was excellent first class evening meal and breakfast was also superb. The staff were so friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble for them

"A way on busuness"
Ritchie G, 10 Novembre 2016

A good 3 star. Room was ok for the price Rm22. The receptionist, Margaret was outstanding with her professionalism, nothing was to much trouble. The bar and food were above average with very friendly staff my colleague and I had a great laugh. A good night sleep followed with a good breakfast next morning. I would stay again.

"Business Overnight Stay"
WiganCasinoGal, 06 Novembre 2016

Stayed at the Lothersdale for the second time, but the first since it was taken over by Best Western and yet again a great stay. Easy online booking system. Chose my room based on the online description only to be told there was no shower in the single exec room I had booked (needed this as I have mobility issues and can't manage in/out of a bath). I was upgraded to a double room on arrival, but lost my sea view (not sure that was a bad thing as it was windy/noisy on the front over night!). Hotel has lift acces to rooms and ramps at front and rear. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I ate in the Aspect Bistro around 6.00pm, no booking needed. I ordered a selection of 3 tapas and that was more than enough for 1 person, each dish costing around £4.95. Great quality evening food as was the full English in the morning. They also had a selection of cereals and fruit if you wanted a lighter breakfast choice. There is limited parking at the rear of the hotel but there is also parking available on the main road (restrictions apply) or there is a car park opposite. Hotel has great views across the bay and is within easy walking distance to main town areas. Overall another great stay!

"Welcoming.."

Stayed here for a birthday celebration. Had a very quick check in and was very pleased with the sea view twin room. It was warm and well furnished. The bathroom was small but quite adequate, with a shower, no bath. We had cocktails in the bar before dinner. Breakfast was very good and checkout was easy and quick. The hotel catered for my wheelchair companion, it has ramps and a lift. Disabled parking is free for as long as you want on the promenade car park opposite the hotel (with a blue disc) there is also a hotel car park at the back of the hotel which we didn't need to use.

"Lovely hotel"

The hotel faces the sea. Some rooms are to the back. With a small carpark to the rear, there is car park 10 yards along the road. The beds are comfortable, clean . Towels are fresh and changed very day. There is lashings of hot water, some of the bath rooms are on the small size.

We were making a brief stay in Morecambe and a friend recommended this hotel. We were very pleased with the welcome shown at reception and this pattern continued in all parts of the establishment we had reason to use.

"Aged hotel overproced"
Stephen J, 23 Octobre 2016

I stayed in a twin "exec" room (15) and the cost was £160 per night based on single occupancy. This was very high compared with other hotels in the area. The room had a great view, but with the curtains pulled the room was below average size and the bathroom tiny and not very well appointed. There was only a small shower cubicle. Hot water took a long time to reach the taps/shower. The single beds were old and not supportive. The towels were thin and well used. The breakfast was poor with limited choice of cold food. Generally compared with local 3* hotels at about half the price the hotel was poor. Good points the reception area was small but pleasant and the reception staff friendly. I would not wish to stay at this hotel again, sorry to be so negative but there is not way to dress it up.

"Very pleasant stay"
ali186423, 15 Octobre 2016

Contrary to other recent reviews of the hotel we had a very pleasant stay here. It wasn't our first choice as we were visiting our daughter in Lancaster but as it coincided with the start of the new year at the university we couldn't find anywhere else - if I had read the reviews we may not have booked it. The room we were given had obviously been recently refurbished, it had new carpet and furnishings and was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a lovely big shower and was also very clean. We were at the back of the hotel so the view from our room wasn't good but this is quite usual for this age and type of hotel so we didn't expect anything different. Even though our booking didn't include breakfast the receptionist added it on free of charge. It was freshly cooked and delicious and the view from the restaurant over Morecambe Bay towards the Lake District was fantastic ( it was a beautiful sunny morning, so this helped). My only criticism is that the hotel car park is very small and quite difficult to find. The back of the hotel from the car park is very shabby and not at all inviting for a first impression. We discovered that we could park along the seafront without charge or in the seafront car park overnight so there was no need to squeeze into the hotel car park.

"No thanks!"

Thoroughly disappointed with myself for spending money on rooms here. Luckily it was for just one night! Firstly the room was on the top floor right at the back & I suspect it had been forgotten about for a few decades. I'm not at all fussy with rooms, I dont mind basic, cheap, outdated etc BUT this room was filthy and grotty. The carpet has something smeared on it, the bathroom was falling apart, the paper hanging off, the laminate floor rotten. The room faced the back overlooking the late night COCKTAIL BAR - we didn't get to sleep till the early hours of the morning, where we checked out as early as we could. Now, the room my teenage son had was at the front with gorgeous views across the bay. And his room wasn't as grotty though definitely needs to be on the list for a refurb. Hurry up and refurbish all your rooms to the standard of your sleek, modern reception area or stop charging people good money to stay in disgusting, filthy hovels!!

"Wonderful views"
Cilla01422, 06 Octobre 2016

I booked the hotel for 3 nights. Then I read the reviews... OMG ! I checked in and was given a downstairs room. It was newly decorated, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The radiator had a faulty valve, so I was a bit warm, but I reported the fact and the problem was resolved the next morning. The breakfast was very good and nicely cooked. I will be booking again - it is in a wonderful position and you can use the hotel's large car park rather than the "pay and display" over the road. The staff were friendly and polite.

"Avoid at all costs"
Mr_Bluehands, 25 Septembre 2016

Only place in Morecambe with availability rang alarm bells but no choice but to book due to work commitments. First night I had to move due to split booking. Second room was very dirty. In desperate need of overhaul. Paper coming away from the ceiling, and in bathroom. Flooring in bathroom coming up due to leak somewhere behind toilet cistern. Very dusty and damp feeling. The bed headboards were filthy and the mattresses were terrible. Even though I booked a double and was originally planned to stay for several nights, enough was enough. Not helpful having to move rooms mid morning when I was working night shift and needed sleep through the day. Rear car park feels very insecure and terrible lighting to rear door is very dodgy. Avoid at all costs. Complete rip off.

"Dirty and uncomfortable. Very insecure"
Lucy R, 21 Septembre 2016

Bedroom shabby and need of an overhaul. Bedding unacceptable and beds very uncomfortable. Head board filthy. No one on reception when I arrived at c10pm and took a while to raise. My key and details were on open display for all to see and they had a laptop that could easily have been taken. I shall not stay again.

"Website Misleading"
gadsbylorraine2016, 17 Septembre 2016

Came to Morecambe as a stopover and booked Lothersdale based on the photos and description on the website. Rooms looked fresh and modern. As we entered our room I was very disappointed as the room was dull and very dated. Wallpaper in bathroom peeling away. The website is very misleading.

Marjorie P, 15 Septembre 2016

At the hotel for a funeral tea. The sandwiches were literally thrown onto a couple of platters. No idea what the fillings were without handling them to see. Minimal filling and dry bread. One dour looking member of staff who didn't appear to be interested in helping us. The guy on the outside terrace without a shirt, yuk! Would not recommend. Avoid at all costs.

"Uninviting "
U8591HFsusana, 01 Septembre 2016

We stayed for 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The room was ok although the the bed was sloping down at one side making it awkward to sleep for one of us and the shower cubicle was very tiny. The bar wasn't very inviting either as they focused on serving food rather than just selling alcohol as they had a Tapas Bar attached to the hotel. The bar also served as the breakfast room which had lovely views over Morecambe Bay and unfortunately that was the only good thing about it. Although the breakfast was edible in afraid the staff were unapproachable and some had soiled clothing.

"Wedding"
barrym446, 26 Août 2016

As far as the venue goes it's very nice ., most of the staff were friendly and helpful, one member of staff was very rude, people at the wedding were going out of the suite to the rear for cigarettes , we were sat by the door , the door got closed and a couple of people were knocking at the glass so my wife opened it to let them in, this member of staff came rushing over and was in her face shouting at her like a child, I was not drinking and presume this member thought I had been with the attitude that came across from him, he continued to shout aggressively in her face when I got up and told him not to talk to her like that but he was not for listening, this spoilt what was a good night and I will not be going back, staff need to have people skills and understand how to treat people, all it needed was to come over and explain before jumping in and causing a scene in an aggressive manner

"It is what it is"
Sheila190748, 23 Août 2016

And what it is is a sad, tired old hotel in a sad, tired old seaside resort. There have been attempts at updating the place, but once you get past the facade of Reception and The Aspect bar and bistro, it's like walking back into the 60's. The food at breakfast and dinner is well-sourced, well-cooked and well-presented, but I'm afraid that's the only positive I can find. The standard of accommodation for a hotel in the 21st century is poor, and there is a feeling that the staff know this as they alternate between excessive jollity to excessive misery with no happy medium - almost as if they are embarrassed to work there. But, this is Morecambe after all - and there is only the need for one good hotel in Morecambe, which this certainly isnt. What it is is reasonably cheap, thankfully, so no real cause for complaint - just keep your expectations low.

"Good location "
JDHspeedster, 23 Août 2016

Only stopped 1 night for business. Hotel is easy to find and the location right by the sea is great. There is some parking to the rear of the hotel but I imagine if its busy there may not always be a space available to you. The entrance to the rear of the hotel from the car park leaves allot to be desired, bit of a damp dark alleyway. Being on business i was unfortunate to be on the lower ground floor, obviously no good if you are looking for a sea view, the fact the bar or restaurant was just above also doesn't help if you are after na early night, so I would avoid these basement rooms if possible. The room itself was very basic, out dated and a bit run down which is a shame as the bathroom was lovely and bright and clearly recently refurbished so hopefully they carry that through into the main rooms soon. Staff were a good laugh and very helpful and friendly! All in all its not a terrible place if you are looking for a budget stay.

Jack B, 19 Août 2016

The location is as we wanted .. On the front... We had 3 rooms all small and a bit old fashioned, but fair for the price! The breakfast was top quality which is essential to me in a hotel. The restaurant is really excellent and the staff are terrific. The bedrooms were too hot for comfort and very small.

"Afternoon tea with friends"
Lynne W, 17 Août 2016

Lovely surroundings , great view , good service, p,easing staff. Afternoon tea-sandwiches were lovely , scones dry , cake dreadful , pana cotta too sweet. Ate sandwiches and scone on site rest brought home In A doggie bag I doubt if any of the patisserie was made on site , very mass produced , the brownie was over sweet , the carrot cake one of the worst I have ever had and the topping dreadful. The doggie bag of stuff I brought home ended up on the garage roof for the gulls .

"Pleasant stay "
Sally B, 14 Août 2016

We stayed here for two nights in room 24 , it was quite small but very clean and comfortable with a small bathroom with a shower again very clean . The dining room and lounge bar has a lovely view of the bay . The food in the restaurant we found was very good and a nice varied menu . We also enjoyed the breakfast with plenty of choices .
