Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown-Hotel Europa

Great spot!, cozy, average, was not disappointed. Electric and some furniture need upgrading.. but that's normal. Restaurant looked really nice, loved that there wasn't any carpet in my room. Will come stay again.

If you are attending anything at the Bell Center, this is a great place to stay. It is a very quick walk and close to lots of places to eat. I was very satisfied with the price and enjoyed having Cora's in the building.

Nice clean rooms with everything you would need. Staff is friendly and helpful and you can't beat the location. Parking is easy as there are several parking facilities across the street. Bar and restaurant located in the premises. Just off St Catherine which makes it easy for shopping, Canadians, eating and just walking. We visit Montreal frequently and most times stay here.

The pillows was so fluffy..beds was 7th Heaven...the service went beyond the area was so convenient to down town Montreal the shower was so smothing VERY QUIET HOTEL...the cleaning was excellent and extremely close to Bell center super place to stay

Great hotel, clean ans fantastic staff. Cords in the same building and great food. In central downtown so St. Catherine Street is right there or enjoy the best shopping, food and entertainment in Montreal. Parking is near buy but there is a charge. I recommend this hotel.

I loved my stay in Best Western as the price is worth it. I get to stay in a strategic place, the room is designed well, comfy bed and pillows, and I don't have to pay extra for an internet service! I would definitely come back!

Rooms are small. But otherwise a nice place. Nice surroundings, restaurant (Cora's) attached. Nice amenities.. gym.. business lounge. Beds very comfortable.. staff very courteous and friendly.. lobby is very comfortable

A very good location for our activities. Hotel was very clean and fair value.House keeping was very good. Disappointed that there was no bottled water in the room. Cora's in the hotel was excellent and open for breakfast when most of restaurants closed till noon.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. If you are driving, parking is a bit of a mystery, I guess that's the downfall of staying in the Montreal city center. Overall the hotel is close to rue Ste-Catherine O which is where everything is.

Enjoyed location, central and close to amazing food. Ask front desk for their parking availability when checking in as we parked first and paid extra for the first night. Very quiet and clean rooms and perfect for a place to sleep after days of activities. Really liked the breakfast too.

The staff is very competent but the rooms are terrible. Very very small and very humid. The room wasnt portrayed properly on their website. The pictures are inaccurate. The room is stuffy and not worth the price.

My daughter left her Apple watch in the room. When we called, they followed up immediately and sent us shipping options to return it. We thought for sure it was gone. Very professional and much appreciated.

The building and rooms have undergone a major update. It was almost done at the time we were there. Rooms were great and functional. Location was super convenient to shopping and restaurants. The price was competitive with other locations. I would stay there again.

Stayed here recently while at a conference at the Sheraton as the cost was significantly less. The experience was pleasant. Everyone was polite at the hotel. The room was nice and clean. The room, itself, was basic though I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the bed was and how nice the shower was as well. The decor is a bit dated with the sense that the hallways were decorated a long time ago but overall I would be happy to stay here again.

Wonderful stay and the rooms are very "Europa" so don't expect a lot in size but it has all the features and amenities for a business stay. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Sheets are excellent. Shower is wonderful with nice flow and I do appreciate the shampoo/conditioner/body wash partner. Very aromatic and natural. Room has an office desk, fridge, microwave, ironing board. Pay parking is a bit out of the way in a nearby lot but great to get some steps before taking a drive. My office chair didn't stay in the up position so that was my only room complaint.

The hotel is in a great location (1 min walk to Ste Catherine St, 2 min walk to the metro, 4 min to the Bell Centre). The staff were friendly and very helpful when we checked out dropping our luggage until we had to leave. The room was very big and the bathroom was great. Bed was comfy and the room was clean. Had some trouble figuring out the AC but to be fair I didn't call down and ask for assistance. For the price it was a good deal and am looking forward to staying there again in January.

1. They served half used coffee condiments 2. Didn't get the $14 breakfast as advertised. Cora restaurant has their own say. 3. Soap was empty and had to call reception to fill in. After all we are there to sleep/rest after our 15 hours journey. But spend time to fix these. Who would want that? 4. They gave us a refridgerator which can't even store my food bowl. May be 500ml water bottle would go in. Shelves were missing. Reported that and they said nothing can be done. Usually people talk only bad experience. But I should say the room were decent. But what is the point spending a lot to book there were I found a 75 dollar motel was neat and tidy.

the mattress in my room was old and uncomfortable, the center of the mattress was sunk in uncomfortable, you have to pay 19 dlrs extra for parking, the location is very good, in general it is expensive for what it offer

The hotel is a little older, but everything was fine. We needed an early check in and hotel went above and beyond to accommodate us. Excellent customer service! Wow! Great location as well. Very safe and easy to walk to almost everything in downtown Montreal.

The room was prepared nicely and cleaned daily. The location of the hotel is very conveniently close to the bus stops, metro station, and city centre's walking street. The receptionists were helpful and friendly. However, some amenities are lacking, such as some toiletries and slippers.

This would be okay for just a few nights or a short weekend. I would not stay any longer than that. The room we stayed in was very small with a king bed. No microwave. Coffee in room, but only powdered condiments. No coffee in the lobby. No breakfast, No Parking at the hotel. You had to pay for parking at a parking garage. If you had any amount of luggage you had to lug it to the hotel from the garage or leave it at the hotel before you parked your car. The price was kind of high for this kind of accommodations even Saturday night. The one thing I really enjoyed was the onsite breakfast area that you had to pay. IT was very tasteful and worth the money. I would use this breakfast area even if I did not stay at this hotel. There was a small Bristal Bar upstairs and served drinks and food if you preferred not to go out to eat.

This hotel was in a great location for us. Great service with an on site restaurant/Bistro. Food was good and excellent service. I would very much recpmmend this hotel to everyone. We will definately stay here again.

BED BUGS......I stayed in this hotel from July 9th-July 11th and the hotel itself is nice and seemed like it was well maintained. However, after staying there the first night I had a lot of itchy bites that I jsut assumed were mosquito bites After the second night a few more showed up and I was slightly concerned but they hadn't fully developed. Once I got home the next night it was clear that I had more than 20 bites from head to toe that after looking up symptoms online I realized were bed bug bites I gave the hotel a call and let them know the situation and I was told to call back another day to speak to the manager. Once I finally brought this up to a manager they mentioned they would be looking into this and get back to me I finally called them since they didn't call me and that is when they told me that another resident complained about bed bugs in that same bed. No clue why they would still allow people to stay there while launching an investigation The manager I spoke with offered a discount for only ONE night even though I stayed for two nights and offered points towards my Best Western Plus account I think they handled this so poorly and have lost a loyal customer through this process. Why would I want to visit this hotel again if I can't even get a proper refund for the nightmare situation I went through...

The hotel located in the downtown. near from multiple restaurants, museums and everything. The hotel is so clean and quiet. The room service was amazing. The rooms equipped with all what you need( iron,hair dryer ,microwave in some rooms, fridge and coffee machine) The best thing is the floor, it's not carpet. It's wood.

You can't beat the location of this hotel. We were able to pay a small amount to park our vehicle in a safe underground lot and leave it there for our entire stay because everywhere you'll need is within walking distance. The room was exactly what we needed and was perfectly clean. Thank you for a great stay!!!

This hotel, while centrally located, is dangerous. The bathrooms have only one bar, located very high up in the shower and only for towels, NOT a grab bar. The bathtub is a very high step in and no anti slip mat is provided. There are no grab bars either in the tub or to assist one in getting out. Neither the keycard nor the envelope provided have the name of the hotel on them so if an accident occurred away from the hotel it would be impossible to know who to contact or where in Montreal the unconscious person was staying. Additionally, there are no amenities such as coffee in the lobby or even a complimentary muffin. And the restaurant on the premises (which is about the only good thing about this property) only serves breakfast to groups. I do not recommend this property to anyone.

Reasonably priced and great for access to downtown, the Metro, RESO and Central Station. Comfortable but not luxurious. Bathroom quite small. Noisy street on Drummond. Cora restaurant adjoins the reception.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western. Room was cozy, and was in a great location in the city. It was 10 minutes walking to the montreal train station, and was within 20-30 minutes walking distance to mount royal, old montreal, and chinatown. It met my needs, so am quite happy with the hotel!

Great hotel! Immaculately clean, well maintained, beds are comfy, staff are amazing, and the location is perfect. You can walk to the Bell Centre in 2 minutes and the Eaton Centre in 10. And there's a Cora restaurant in the lobby. We'll definitely be staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay, the location was great , rooms weren't fancy but a great value. Restaurant and bar were were excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. The bar had an excellent view, menu and great staff. Wish they offered appetizers later at night though. Kitchen closes after dinner. It would have been nice to have an appetizer with our drinks after the hockey game

6th time coming to Montreal for a Leafs vs Habs and we always stay here. Location is perfect, rooms are bgig and clean at a reasonable price. Highly recomend for any event in the Bell Centre or downtown Montreal.

The hotel is all right for a night, but for a Best Western Plus I was a bit disappointed. No coffee or tea area let alone breakfast. The room was nice, but there was a super loud hum in the room which came for somewhere in the ceiling, so we had to sleep with earplugs. I was not too happy about that!

The room was very small, we walked in and it was very hot inside. The bathroom was full of mold, I even took pictures. No bathtub and not much room in the bathroom either. We had to close the door to have access to the shower. The ceiling on top of the shower needs to be fixed and rubbers from shower door changed

I always stay at the best Western europa in downtown Montreal. I have been coming here for about 10 years. I plan on coming back here in March. The front desk personnel are extremely nice and make me feel comfortable.

Sofas in lobby were dirty,beds were not comfortablt..washroom was out dated.Room was quite contrary to the pictures displayed on website. There was no parking at location.it was hastle to find parking.it took us two hours to find parking.

We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. It's very clean and staff was very pleasant and helpful. Amazing location! Right in the middle of all the Montreal nightlife, Bell Centre if you're going to a game or concert, shopping on St. Catherine's and restaurants. I highly recommend this Best Western location.

good for the location rooms are not the best……………………………… I wouldn't recommend it bc I'm used to 4+ star hotels this was a 3. Surfaces including the room were not that clean and there was a smell.. bed was good and overall location and price is good.

The team at this hotel was wonderful! Everyone from Mallory who made my reservation, to Sabina who checked me in, and the two gentleman at night who always helped answer my questions Phedris and Matthew were all so great, kind, professional and helpful. There was a lovely lady on the 6th floor as well, with house keeping who was always very kind, keen, friendly and helpful. The location is terrific, there are many places to park, eat, walk around, and lots of things to do! I have been staying here for almost 12 years and always make it my number 1 when I am in Montreal. Overall, my stay was great, and I will continue to come back to you wonderful hotel!

Very friendly staff, rooms are not big but clean. Only stayed for 1 night because of my office XMAS party. Cora restaurant attached which is very convienient and the location is right downtown Montreal

During Covid, when the issue of lockdowns started, all travel plans were thrown up in the air. We had prepaid reservations and they just flatly refused to refund us even a portion of the total. This flew in the face of BW corporate policy, which apparently they can do. This probably turned by group of friends and I from ever returning to Montreal.

This was my second stay at this hotel in the past few months. I have found it to be ideal for my visits to Montreal, the quality of the service from checkin to checkout , the cleanliness of the hotel and room and the value for dollars cannot be duplicated. It is in an ideal area for restaurants and shopping . It is a short walk from the train station and very close to Concordia University which makes it perfect for anyone visiting a friend or relative attending the school.

Hotel was clean and beds and bathroom comfortable. This is a aging hotel. They have no parking, so you have to park in parkade one street over, you can exit the parkade onto the hotel street. Parking one night was about $18. Cora's is attached so breakfast is right there. Staff was friendly.

Location was okay for the reason for our stay (HABS game), however the room was ridiculously small…like I felt like I was sleeping in a closet. Upon requesting a military discount upon booking we were told we'd receive a single Queen suit, we didn't even have enough room for our luggage. The staff were friendly but I feel that because I had to push for the discount that we got punished for this room. Not impressed.

We were able to check in early which was the best first impression of the hotel since we were both really tired after driving for 6 hours. The front desk helped us find parking near the hotel for a great rate. It was a parking garage that has a deal with the hotel - we were able to leave our car there all four days, knowing that our things would be safe because the garage is code-accessible only and we could take our car out anytime we wanted without having to pay extra. The front desk also helped us find the nearest metro (Bonaventure is only a 5 minute walk away). We had a wonderful, peaceful stay without any issues. We also liked that we had an A/C/heater in the room that we had full control of. If we come back to Montreal, we'll definitely stay at this hotel again.

I needed an overnight close to Montreal Central Station, at a reasonable rate. That's why I chose this hotel. They surprised me with early check-in, friendly, flexible service and generous, useful information and advice.

We initially booked at Best Western Europa (on Drummond) in Montreal and arrived after midnight. We travelled from Toronto and after checking in we were given room keys for the 2nd floor (can't remember the room number). The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade and this should begin from the Lobby area. The carpeting area along the corridors look extremely tired. The smell of the corridors is awful. It's almost on par with a hostel. The room we were initially given on the 2nd floor was deplorable and the room/corridor smelt like cigarettes and mold (as though the air conditioner was dripping into the carpet and the smell circulated during the drying process). I can tell the cleaning staff cleaned it as best as they could but the disappointment was not the cleanliness of the room but the tiredness of its appearance. The room(s) (I'm sure not only that room but all of them on the same floor) is too small and too shabby for the amount of money being charged per night. On taking one look at the said room upon entry, I immediately went back to the Front Desk and immediately voiced my disapproval to the Front Desk Assistant. After a short discussion insisting that I change rooms, I was obliged and given keys to a room on the 5th Floor, which I can attest wasn't much better! The only differences were the wooden floor tiles and a 2nd bed (the room on the 2nd Floor had only 1 bed). I must mention at this time, this room was labeled an 'upgrade'!!!! I was charged an additional CAD $70.00 for a room that didn't meet the CAD $70.00 I was being charged. Needless to say, I got into bed. Took out my tablet. Checked online for another hotel. Booked it and checked out a few hours later. On checkout, I informed the Front Desk Agent that I needed to go and be refunded for my additional ten (10) days I had already paid for. The refund was done in front of me and I'm currently awaiting my VISA Card Statement to ensure that the refund was indeed done. If the Best Western intends to keep patrons coming to patronize their facilities in the future, an understanding of what is expected when stepping through the doors of their establishment is required. We DO NOT expect shabby, tired, moldy, smelly facilities. We DO NOT expect ridiculous fees for facilities that are rundown, fatigued and extremely worn out. We expect an establishment that is worthy of what is being charged. Mention must be made that the hotel we ended up staying at was a bit cheaper and had better rooms

Easy location but noisy due to traffic, even though we were on 5th floor. Good check in and out process. King room was extremely small. Bathroom was very small, only a shower. Breakfast at Cora's was good.

Price for this hotel was less than almost every other similarly rated hotel in the tourist areas. Overall a nice hotel for someone looking for an affordable option close to everything who won't spend too much time in the room. Very clean room, large TV, fast internet, and very friendly staff. Basic rooms seem a little small and ours had a tiny window immediately facing a wall, so little natural light came in. Bring slippers as the floors are not carpeted and there were no rugs. Parking was about $15/day at the Autoparc Stanley garage across the street.

Flew in from the UK to start our holiday in Montreal/Quebec City. Really disappointed with the overall look of the hotel. Shabby and not in a shabby chic way! Tired and smelt 'old' not a great first impression. Reception staff were polite enough but offered no warm welcome. No maps or tourist information given. Our room was up on the 5th, lift up (only one working, looking back on other reviews this seems to have been an issue for a while). Then up a flight of stairs. Tired room. Clean enough. Bathroom very outdated. Shower was a dribble rather than a shower. As we are only staying here 2 nights we'll complain on check out. Air conditioning unit VERY noisy, drab net curtains that I would put straight in the bin! If we'd booked to stay here for more than 2 nights we'd be looking for somewhere else! We got married in this chain of hotels in the UK and it was beautiful, unfortunately this one does not have the same positives.

The rooms may not be great, the TV choices may be non-existent, and you won't get a microwave. BUT I'd still stay at this hotel again. It is located in the HEART of downtown Montreal. As a broke college tourist, having the choice to take public transit rather than a car is a deal breaker for budget travelling. The museums, vieux Montreal, the gay village, even McGill are all near your room. What you lack in luxury. You gain in proximity. Best off, you're right beside the 747 airport bus, Peel station, and the Bell Centre.

small dark room with old building smell. 2 pizza boxes left in the room upon arrival; the next day 2 blanks were thrown on ground near washroom with no replacement; elevator takes too long to come, joined many others to use stairs multiple times; TV power cable was not plugged in; If you are just looking for a place to sleep overnight on a bed, it works. The location is good.

We had a nice stay at the BW Hotel Europa. The location is great and the staff is very nice and helpful. One elevator was down which we knew before booking the hotel. Our room was very quiet. We were under the impression that breakfast was included which it isn't but there lots of places very close by to eat.

Room was more cramped than expected, but almost everything worked. Every time the TV was turned on, the volume went to 99. Plus there was no channel guide so you just turned through the channels like 1975. Two tiny elevators. One mostly broken. During checkin/out periods, long waits. We just took the stairs, but there was a horrible smell near the broken drink machine. Decor was pretty blah, especially in the rooms. Restaurant Cora had good service and breakfast. Busy.

Let's start with the closet sized room alot smaller then the pics make it look. NO on site parking available. Warned not leave truck parked on road because of local pubs in the area "you may get damage done " Long black hairs left in shower,hair balls ,dust bunnies in alot of places some renovation or repairs badly needed The only positive thing they have going is location

We went for the Roger Waters concert this past weekend. Its the first time in over 10 years that we were able to take a vacation with my kids that are now older. The Hotel is at a great location for us as its close to the Bell Centre, and a few places nearby that we enjoy as well. I expected some things to not be perfect as i understand the hotel industry took a hit with Covid. Issues were not huge, bathroom door did not stay closed , ice machine out of order (room 407 4th floor) But we told ourselves if this is as bad as it gets well live. We thought the price was quite high, double the cost of our last stay and the rooms were the same . might look at a different place if the price is better next time we go to Montreal.

Great hotel! Three of us stayed 1 night to go to a concert at the Bell Centre. So convenient as it is a block away! The room was small with a small window facing a brick wall, but that didn't matter. We weren't there for the view, just to sleep. We had free WiFi. Worked great with no hiccups! The a/c was freezing! Loved it! The bathroom was beautiful and came with a hair dryer. In the closet was an iron and ironing board! So convenient! The bed and pillows were so comfortable. I melted in bed and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I didn't stay very long at the hotel but I noticed Cora restaurant, a gym, a gift shop and I could smell a pool onsite. Parking is a block away on Stanley St. but the exit is on Drummond so it's just steps away. We only paid $18 overnight. Saint-Cathartine St. is a block away too! The night life pouring all over the street was great!! So many places around to eat! Everything you want is within walking distance, even the movie theatre and all your shopping needs! My only con was that we booked the room for 3 and there was only enough coffee to make in the morning for 2 people!!! (Although we could've went down to Cora a quick cup of java wouold be nice while getting ready!) WHEN A HOTEL ROOM IS BOOKED FOR THREE ADULTS PLEASE PUT ENOUGH COFFEE FOR 3 PLEASE!

Room was small, but well set up. Value was average in my opinion for 2 nights we stayed. Convenient breakfast option (Cora) downstairs. Location was good relative to downtown shopping district and a short cab ride away from the Old Port of Montreal.

First I would probably have never booked this hotel but we were travelling back to NS and needed a place to stay for the night that was comfortable. So to begin with we got in late and just wanted to take a shower and crash for a few hours. Well the shower didn't have a shower curtain. The shower head only partially worked. There were rips in the sheets and the tile in the bathroom was cracked and broken. We could have stayed in a cheap motel for these amenities. Then they gave us the wrong directions to the parking so we had an attendant looking for $60 for parking the next morning after we already paid the hotel! It was a horrible experience for the few hours we were there. NEVER AGAIN!

I was a bit concerned reading the mixed reviews about this hotel. But the location right in the centre of downtown Montreal won me over. After a 2 night stay at this hotel in late June I was really glad that we chose Hotel Europa. The bed and pillow of our king-bed room was so comfortable and supportive that my wife really wants to know where Best Western got their bed sets. The in-room individual AC unit was just what we wanted during this pandemic time. Parking was easy at an indoor garage not too far away. At ground level, the hotel also has a 24 hr gym, a business centre, a clothing shop offering alterations, a saloon, and a small restaurant. The list of amenities goes on and on. We are really glad that we selected this hotel over other more pricy and well-known ones. Now we know where we will stay next time we visit downtown Montreal.

The Best Western turned out to be a perfect hotel for our needs while a family member had surgery at a nearby hospital. The staff was friendly, helpful, polite, gracious, accommodating and professional. The hotel was affordable, clean, newly renovated, had comfortable beds and had all the amenities we needed. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. We would definitely stay her again in the future.

It's definitely a cheaper option than other hotels around. You did get that value for your money. I found my room had a noisy HVAC system and the bed felt like you were melting into it. I was far to the side of the bed and felt like I was slowly falling off the bed. The pillows were all thick, so bring your own if you like a thinner pillow. They may have other options, but I didn't ask.

We stayed at this hotel last week it's in a brilliant location for exploring downtown Montreal the room was clean with toiletries given in the shower room. The staff were extremely helpful and the price was good value

The cleanliness of the room was the worse part of my stay at best western. Hair in the towels, dirt on the floor. Couldn't imagine walking barefoot even for a sec. The TV didnt even work. The room size was okay but the bathroom was so tiny that one had to be half way in the shower while doing their business. Many many better options in this price range.

This hotel is quite old, and it shows. The bed was comfortable and we slept well, however the internet didn't allow us to load even our email. The remote and TV were not working, nor was the fridge. Will the staff seemed concerned we actually didn't get either issue resolved. There was telephone problems as well air condition issues. The rooms were basically clean, but there were areas of dust behind doors and so we had problems with allergies due to this. The bathroom was pretty clean and water was hot.

This hotel room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay in downtown Montreal. It was clean, had air conditioning and internet included, a comfortable bed, and was close to everything. I'd be happy to stay here again next time I visit Montreal.

The room was too small for 2 persons. The bathroom was so tiny : two people could not be in at one time ; it also did not have the grab bars for safety . The bed spread was a mattress cover? Why? On top of that the mattress was so old and soft which made us having backache in the morning ! There were dirty towels in the hallway every day . The staff was ok.

Drinking water was not provided and also breakfast not included, the rate was little expensive when compare to the money paid. Room was little dusty. Body wash instead of soap to be provided. Car parking facility not provided . Hence paid another 18 Dollar in the private parking

This hotel from the start to finish was a horrible stay. We made reservations for 2 nights only stayed 1 because we couldn't do it any longer. Was promised a discounted on our bill for all the troubles we went through they revoked that discount charged my card several times. The room was so small and not suited for two people it was very dirty we couldn't even shower before cleaning the shower ourself first. The bed didn't even have a proper sheet on it and still had hair from whomever slept in it before. The staff was unfriendly and unprofessional. Their cleaning staff left dirty laundry all in the hallways along with their cleaning cart blocking the hallway. The main lobby bathroom was infested with ants. All in all horrible place. And wouldn't recommend

Best Western has continued to upgrade its property making it a very pleasant and affordable hotel close to many amenities of downtown Montreal. It is an excellent value and the convenience of Cora's close by makes it stress free for breakfast.. In the area there are excellent restaurants and very good shopping. There is easy access to the 747 bus from the airport and metro stations are close by.

Very disappointed in the Room Cleanliness of this hotel, we booked two rooms with a client staying in one room. Rooms were dirty and dusty and bathroom shower appeared dirty with human hair still visible. Dresser drawer had someone else underwear still in it from the previous booking. This also appeared to be a hotel/Hostel. The pictures on their website are just that pictures, its a whole different story when you open the door to your room.

Pros- excellent location Cons- valet parking by another vendor. The valet tried to scam us by writing the Color of our car on a piece of paper as proof that we were to show while exiting to get our car. We refused to accept that piece of paper as proof and then he grudgingly gave us a receipt with a bar code. The rooms are dirty with hair on sheets and floor. The coffee maker had never been cleaned. We informed reception and they promptly replaced with another less dirty coffee maker that we washed and used. No housekeeping for short stays and no garbage collection under the excuse of COVID when cleaning should be more a priority. Breakfast not included.

Anyone like yours this hotel more than two stars has definitely not stayed in nice hotels! The rooms are about 80 sq feet and built in the 80s. Staff were not friendly or accommodating. Definitely would not stay here again. Price was just ok, but if I had of known I would have paid extra and stayed somewhere nicer!

This is a centrally located property close to many shops, the Eaton Centre and La Baie/the Bay, other hotels, the train station, public transportation and drug stores and restaurants. The rooms are compact and lend themselves more to a business or functional accommodation (eg. a hockey group). Great water pressure in the shower!! A printer is available on the main floor! There is room service, but the adjacent CORA breakfast restaurant is ideally connected. The very professional receptionist was helpful and courteous.

We stayed here for a visit to the US Consulate and it was very conveniently located. Restaurant had great food, large portions and reasonably priced. We ate there 2 nights and had the same meal (Chicken Parmesean) both times! We had a salad, entree, dessert and coffee or tea for just $20 each.

My partner and I needed a place to stay last minute and decided to book here! The price, the location, the staff, and cleanliness all great! Right next to the main strip of Montreal and close to lots of great food as well. We were within walking distance of the fine arts museum, bell centre, the train station, and even walked to old montreal and the pier! It was loud at times due to the fire station down the street, but that was nothing that really bothered us! Definitely will stay here again when we come back to Montreal!

This BW Plus is located in the heart of downtown. Literally walking distance within Bell Centre and shopping strip along Saint-Catherine street. Also close to Peel métro (subway) and Gare Centrale (for trains). Newly opened grocery store Provigo and drug mart Pharmaprix also within walking distance. And block or two away from bars/clubs on Crescent and Bishop streets. Hotel itself clean and modern. I didn't use their parking service but it is available for about CDN$30 which is standard for downtown Montréal. Note that my room only had a stand up shower which was fine for me. But if you want a bathtub, make sure to check the room you're booking has one. Room appeared to have been recently renovated with laminate floors. Was a bit small but I was travelling alone so perfect place to just crash for a night. Great value for location and cleanliness!

This hotel is perfect for enjoying downtown Montreal. A block from the Bell Centre and St. Catherine Street. It has a Cora's Restaurant attached which is perfect for Breakfast/Lunch but also close to many great restaurants and coffee shops. This is a good basic hotel that has very good service and is clean and updated.

This hotel had no hot water, peeling walls in bathroom, stained sheets, a kicked in main glass door to the exterior, staff not wearing masks, doors in rooms did not open well, ventilation system tired and loud. If you are going to run a hotel, you need to spend some money.

as stated earlier, no sleep first night because of noise, went down to report but nothing could be done : Bad Bunny concert at the Bell Center meant young folks staying at property, We travelled from NB for a hockey game and because of being kept up we were vert tired for the game

This Best Western contrary to all I have been in the past has no breakfast service, no voucher for the restaurant tied to the hotel, no coffee downstairs which I have grown accustomed to, no parking which I probably should have verified prior to reserving, my fault on this one. The staff was very nonchalant about helping us out with the parking, didn't acknowledge us as Best Western members, all in all it was very disappointing.

On my 3rd (and final) night a loud noise woke me up in the middle of the night. The next room guests (sounds like 4 of them, at least?) were laughing, playing loud music, arguing, children shouting and running. Could not understand the French so cannot report the topic(s). After 30 minutes when it did not stop and I was fully awake I rang the front desk - no answer. I got dressed and walked down to reception and the person on shift promised to send someone. I don't know if they did, but the noise never stopped and I could never go back to sleep. they were still partying when I checked out at 7:30. If they were not on cocaine I salute their energy. I cannot recommend, or imagine staying again myself in a hotel that cannot provide that super basic service of a hotel, a full night sleep. Not even for someone who usually sleeps like a rock and is not very sensitive to noise. Other than that my stay was OK - room was clean and bright, what seems like recently replaced wallpaper and bathroom appliances, and everything in the room worked fairly well (shower, toilet, cable TV, internet, desk large enough for work). The photos on the hotel's website of the room are accurate. As mentioned in other reviews the location is great - right by the stop of the shuttle bus from the airport and a short walking distance to the train station, right in the centre of downtown. On the other side, the room smelled a bit damp (but I am not super sensitive), and the small window does not open for fresh air - these two were a minor inconvenience. The washroom is super tight in space, and someone bigger would have difficult time sitting on the toilet or squeezing into the shower. so if not for that last night (and the hotel's complete inability to deal with the situation) I would have said my stay was fair and I got good value for money, and good service. however - I have a feeling this was not a freak occurrence and I am not likely to take a risk again.

Where do I even start. I feel like I should have realized that $100 a night should have been my warning. I felt dirty, I didn't want to touch anything even in the room. It was clear that the fabric on the cloth chair in the room was soiled. The first room had a strong smell of cleaning materials but after a little while I could smell urine. The elevator walls were soiled. The carpets in the halls hadn't been vacuumed recently. The ceilings are even low. There was a woman walking around in her Panama's and there were bags of garbage in the hall next to the elevator. I could not settle in to staying there and I really hope this warns anyone who is thinking they will be getting a good deal. I was able to quickly find another hotel a block away and for $40 more dollars a night I could say that this hotel was perfect. Please be warned. This hotel needs to put a lot more care into the basic cleanliness of the hotel.

Stay here quite often, usually for a short 2-3 day trip for shopping. Arrive by train and it's a short walk to hotel. St Catherine is a walkable distance for the shopping. Lots of great eating choices within walking distance as well.

Went to see the art museum high on 4 hits of acid. It was crazy then went to an Irish pub to have some Irish stew with my girlfriend then we went back to the hotel and I left again to walk around montreal in a snowstorm it qas cool I saw alot of crazy and took some pictures with my disposable camera. Then I went to get some drinks then back to bed to my lovely girlfriend.

The water drain in the bedroom was stuck and broken. I could not use it. I had to call maintenance to fix it. The bathroom was not clean, there were dirty spots in the sink, shower and toilet. The bathroom had a bad smell (urin) when I arrived.

The rooms only have laminate floors installed, the rest is dated. The noise from other rooms and hallway kept me awake until 3 am. Could clearly make out phone call by adjacent room. The bathroom was not fully cleaned prior to my stay. The beds were uncomfortable.

Close to the US Consulate and the Bell Centre. Multilingual staff were friendly to all. Cora's and Bistro under the same roof made this an all inclusive stay for us! Highly recommend this Best Western

The hotel is in a great location in the heart of downtown minutes from the train station, restaurants and shops. It is a great value for the room and the staff is friendly as well as helpful. Will return!

Very disappointing to see someone in the hospitality industry reply in such a cold and improper way. I hope your hotel does well but this hotel really needs some basic training. Nick, I sincerely hope you run full house 365 days a year.

short look around the old city. location provided easy access to everything we wanted to see, all within walking distance. arrived by train - only a 20 minute walk to the hotel and the city bus, 747, was only 2 blocks away for a trip to the airport.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Good options for breakfast. Great restaurant selections in close proximity to the hotel. Tons of bars to choose from and close to all amenities. Will ask for a room that is on the top floors, if possible? The view of downtown at night is fantastic if you can see it.

Stayed here for one night to explore the city. The male staff member at check in was quite miserable and barely uttered more than a few words to us. Hallways and lobby could do with a lick of paint as they are looking very tired. The room itself was relatively clean give or take the odd black hair. Bedding was incorrect - the duvet was sandwiched between 2 flat sheets so a lazy housekeeper must have run out of duvet covers. We were tired after travelling so didnt complain as just wanted to get some sleep. Got a good nights sleep and checked out the following day.

Dear management of this hote, Please improve cleanliness quality ASAP. I don't know how city inspector not know about how dirty the guest room at this hotel are. After entering the room, put my luggages down and about to take a shower, we found ant kingdom all over the floor. I took a picture and really need to tell the world the truth. After after switching to another room, there was a used-mask on the bathroom floor. Thank God, it did not give me Covid. The second night, we found a spider. What is this? What is your cleanliness standard? Shouldn't the hotel met cleanliness standard especially during the pandemic? This is the worst and the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed. This is NOT Best Western I used to know. Totally disappointed and disgusting. Is this a hotel or a bug farm, or What? Besides bugs, it was the used-mask on the bathroom floor(and this is during Covid time) Wow! Escape from ant kingdom, but ran into spider and used-mask. Disgusting!

We booked for two nights and that was two nights too long. First room we got had a heavy chemical smell (fumigation?) so we needed to move. The front desk staff were quite accommodating. The person who helped us move to the new room was surprised by the selection of the front desk staff, but took us to a room anyway -- we found out. The second room was small. First night some person knocked on the room next to ours and yelled through the door at the person inside saying "My money is in there, give it too me". Luckily this episode took only 10 minutes to resolve. The second night was worse, when someone (likely the same guy) came back, pounded on the door and with inappropriate language stated loudly "give me my money". I called down to the desk- no answer after letting the phone ring for 5 minutes. The situation in the hallway got worse. Called the desk -- no answer. Called 911. Found that it took forever to get through the telephone carrier to get to the police (VOIP phone system). Got through and police were on scene very quickly. But the guy had either gone into the room or left. Staff seemed obivious to the situation. I noticed that there were people hanging around in the foyer of the building at all hours and this was rather strange. You have to wonder when people pay the bill and deposit all in cash as their plastic does not work. I think that Best western should take a close look at this operation. Something appears to be wrong.

I returned once again to the Best Western Hotel Europa for a 1 night stay. I booked a King size room which is quite large. Room was modern and clean and fairly large. Bathroom was a bit small but was fully functional with a shower. Water was very hot, but the pressure in the shower was very weak. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet. Room contained a mini fridge (empty) as well as a small coffee maker (brew-type) and a 40" TV with a large selection of regular Cdn and US channels. A clock radio, iron, etc were also available. There are no USB ports. Internet/WIFI was fast and reliable. The hallways were under renovations and there's some ventilation issues as you could smell smoke/weed in some places. (Hotel is suppose to be "Smoke free" Hotel staff was friendly and did their job with nothing more. As a Diamond member, I was not recognized for this nor received any upgrades or extra perks. I do have to say that my room was available early (noon), which was a pleasant surprise. There is no parking in the hotel so you need to park your own vehicle elsewhere. This can be a good thing as some hotels tend to charge a premium. When visiting this hotel, I usually park at "Autoparc Stanley located very close (beside the Sheraton) with the entrance on Stanley. There's a pedestrian exit on Drummond though so just steps from the hotel. There are other lots behind the hotel, but these tend to ask you to leave the keys with them (so they can move around your car, which I don't like). Breakfast is offered downstairs at Cora, a chain specializing in breakfasts and it's always good. This is a great moderate class hotel if you don't want to spend too much while in a great location.

The location is great. Front desk staff is nice. Lobby seems clean. Rooms are not clean. There was hair on the towels in the bathroom, and dust(?) on the pillows. The bed is not comfortable at all and moves around while you're asleep. The rooms are extremely tiny and you can hear everything going on in the neighbouring rooms. I kept waking up because of people coming back to their rooms or dropping things/slamming doors. The elevators are small as well - not a big deal. The rooms are not worth the price.

Changed rooms due to noise. Staff at front desk was very friendly and accommodating. No big deal at all but on my way to my new room a random lady in the elevator asked if I wanted a “happy ending massage”. After saying no thanks I scurried to new room and hid. Unfortunately I was not alone. My new room had bed bugs. I got bit numerous times. They changed my room again. The room a few doors down from my third room in one night was sealed shut for bed bug fumigation. I Turned around, checked out and left for the best western on peel st. Manager was supposed to call me to figure this all out. I did not hear from him so I called later that evening. He was unaware that I had even checked out. They refunded me which was great but just be careful as there is a bed bug situation at that hotel.

Very nice hotel...reasonably price in an area that is accessible to everything you need and want when visiting Montreal. Only a 5 minute to the metro. And Coras in the lobby for breakfast is fantastic.

This is a OK hotel, location is great, served the purpose! Parking is actually easy, there are two parking lots that has relationships with this hotel. I would recommend the indoor one, safer and cheaper. Cora is in the same building, easy for breakfast! Check in and check out were easy and smooth, very friendly customer service!

Worst Best Western hotel - DO NOT STAY HERE We checked into the hotel, paid and left our vehicle with Valet. The Valet did not move our vehicle and we received a parking ticket. The hotel is refusing to pay for the parking ticket, while the car was in the possession of the hotel when the ticket was received. The hotel manager and staff are extremely rude and discriminatory. There is no communication and they will take advantage of you for being out of province. They do not take responsibility or ownership for their own staff mistakes and will blame you instead.

Extremely dirty carpet in hallways. Carpets should be completed removed because they are beyond washing. Hallways are extremely depressing. Doors slam all night, no mechanism to stop them from "banging". Old air conditioning units in rooms (maybe 25 years old) that go on and off constantly making sleeping difficult. Cold or hot, nothing in between. I finally decided to stop it and stay in a hot room. Second day we caught severe diarrhea and we didn't move from hotel room. I suspect rooms are not cleaned well (light switches, handles, door knobs). Very very average hotel not worth paying more than $90 a night even if situated in "Downtown Montreal" ! These hotels are all the same. They are unable to give a client a nice experience. Did not like this hotel at all.

Central Location situated near many restaurants, venues and other important places. Especially close to the US consulate, so highly recommended for anyone having to deal with US visas. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful as I forgot an important document for my interview and they helped me remedy it.

I'm a diamond member with BW always book with them expecting the brand to live up to its name. Night one was bug bites, hallways not clean, room seemed ok. In the morning homelessness riding the evelvators. Second night partner woke up with more bites and small blood spots on the sheets where his legs were.... so gross.. checked out headed home to disinfect and sanitize all belongings

Room recently redone, modern and comfortable. If you are looking for a good price point and value and a clean hotel, this is a good choice. Staff are great. Location is nice, on a quiet street in the middle of downtown.

The location of the hotel was great, steps away from the main downtown restaurants and shopping centres. However the overall hotel experience was not up-to any expectations you will want. The room had a bad odour, even the corridor carpets. The AC was giving out the odour as well. We were offered a second room upon complaint, had to use a room spray to survive the three nights. The room floor was extremely dirty, dusty and had small particles of dirty. Requested for extra towels and received them one day after. Washroom didn't have a bin to throw waste. If not for cleanliness it would have been good. If I'm to question was it worth the stay, I'd rather pay a little more and opt out for another. However, Check in and check out was speed and staff were friendly.

I booked room on call and she booked for wrong date and when will we reach there the lady said you are supposed to be here 2 days ago and I explained she said you have to pay again I cannot do anything come back when manager is here. We travelled from moncton to montreal. The same room I paid 99$ I have to pay 150$. How does it make sense?

The one queen bed room is very small to a point where you feel like staying in a hostel instead of a 3-star hotel. The phone operator did not even mention there is parking available. We were just told street parking is free on the weekend. It turned out there is a parking lot is right behind the hotel. It cost an extra $20 per night.

This hotel was in a great location for walking. We walked St. Catherine St. (right around the corner) and walked down to the port and Bascilica. The rooms and windows are small, but it was clean and had everything we needed. The price was very affordable.

We just stayed at the best western. They refused our best western rewards card for the covid hotel. They messed up our food order 4 times. They also gave us a place to go outside and said we needed security. They forgot to send security. They have so few customers at the hotel, i cannot imagine that they are able to serve clients properly if they had a full hotel. It will be the last time i stay at a Best Westen. Our trip included a stay at another best western which i left a bad review. I can only sya that this is not a chain i will stay with again

This was my first time traveling for work since the pandemic hit in March 2020. BW's COVID policies are sensible and straightforward, making it easy to understand. I did not once feel uncomfortable or unsafe during my stay. It was clean and pleasant, and as always the staff were friendly and helpful. Best part about this hotel is it's location in the Montreal downtown core. Easy access to plenty of shops, restaurants and 2 subway/metro stations within 5 minutes walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel if you are liking for a clean and unfussy room in the heart of the city.

This location is amazing in downtown Montreal. Nice friendly hotel people. A lot of smiles and great communication skills. Feels like home as it used to feel for me. Every stay at Best Western, it remarks a good future work plan. I love to go to best western to be alone or to work. They respect their guests needs.

I stayed here for 1 Night for a business meeting the following day. To be fair I want to state that when I arrived Jan 31, 2021, the hotel was having renovations done so the entrance area which was apart of the renovations was dirty and unwelcoming. The receptionist was however very friendly and helpful with a pleasant personality. The room was sub par we found human hair on the beds in the bathroom sink and on the floor which was disconcerting and make us wonder how clean the room was. The curtain in the room didn't work well but thankfully the roller blind shade worked fine. There was a dual air conditioner heater in the room which seemed old and I found noisy and smelled like it kept sending dust in the air, causing me to have a stuffy nose. In the morning when I opened the blinds I noticed that the furnitures in the room had chips all over and were dusty to the point you could see the dust as a second layer of skin. Some furnitures had wood putty patch that was never recoloured to furniture colour (tacky). I have to admit though you cannot beat the location downtown if you are attending business in that area. Warning if you are a lite sleeper you may hear fire trucks and sirens going by.

OK, I've had ENOUGH! I am tired of this hotel risking my safety and health regardless of their reasons or causes. Right now part of this hotel is being used to house the homeless overnight. A city bus from the Old Brewery Mission drops them off around 9pm and leave around 12 hours later. They all seem to be segregated on the second floor. However, it is contacts in the elevator, lobby and front door area that have me concerned and honestly...upset. The scene in Montreal is dire as I write this. There is a lockdown and an 8pm-5am curfew, due to the hospitals becoming stretched to the brink during the pandemic. It is also the middle and coldest part of winter and the wind chill temperature this morning was -28 degrees C. Hotels are mostly empty as business travel is close to zero and tourists would literally not be allowed do anything or see anyone. The pandemic has apparently also forced the closure of several overnight homeless shelters, or a mass reduction of capacity. The city has taken over two large, empty hotels to accommodate some. Other large venues have also been used. It's not enough. The old Brewery Mission and others like it are doing God's work. Everybody deserves a warm place to sleep. But putting an at risk population like the homeless in a hotel with the travelling and essential public is a recipe for disaster. Unless, you can get them into the hotel, onto their floor and keep them there for 12 hours, in which case I have no issue. In reality that is not the case. Tonight I was going outside to smoke when the bus arrived. A mass of humanity got off the bus. Half of them were not wearing masks properly as they filed into the hotel and filled the lobby. I darted outside and halfway up the block to get away from the growing number of people exiting the bus. A mostly verbal fight broke out between two girls which eventually became four. It went on as the bus emptied until one of the last passengers got off and seemed to admonish the group which calmed things down. After the bus departed there was still about 20--25 people outside smoking, arguing, laughing and mask-less, blocking the door, which made me not not want to go anywhere near the front door. But I can't wait outside on one of the coldest days for a crowd of careless people to disperse. Any gathering this size indoors or outdoors is illegal. So, as I walk through a mass of humanity, god forbid super spreading the deadliest disease on the planet, I also get called an expletive by a women who was overtly flirting with me outside over the weekend (I declined...she was coughing) and was apparently with this group. My two big issues: Elevators The elevator stopping on the second floor to pick someone up half the time going down and, sometimes as many three people get on. The elevators are tiny. This is a vulnerable population with questionable hygienic practices. I am a six foot, 210 pound White male who can tell someone commandingly to 'keep or put your mask on', 'Don't get on the elevator with someone if you're coughing' and to 'take the next one you three'. I don't enjoy it however. Also this group has access to my floor and some people are quite sketchy. This is not a place for women or children under the current circumstances. Front door Area There are usually people smoking in groups, passing cigarettes while spitting and coughing during the deadliest pandemic in 100 years. An almost constant super-spreader event right outside the front door. Enough said. I complained the first morning and got a pretty terse response from the lady at the front desk. She asked if Someone had "talked to you". That's the rule... leave the guests alone; don't panhandle here. Nobody has, except the coughing girl who asked if I would take her home with me. They wouldn't answer if this was a goodwill, charitable gesture, or if they were receiving private or government funding. She then referred me to the manager, which I declined fearing I'd push the issue too far. Accept it or leave I said to myself. This is my third stay at this hotel in the last six months. I am Best Western Diamond Select member who stayed over 120 nights with the brand in 2020, at different hotels, mostly during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have never felt unsafe for my health until this third stay here, where I am now writing this from. I'm scheduled to leave the day after tomorrow, which can't come soon enough. The only I stay here: low amount of points. This is a no frills, get 3 nights free here instead of one free night down the street. This hotel was always 'good enough' until now. Whether a charitable gesture or a last ditch financial desperation thing, PICK ONE. There are good reasons hotels don't do this in normal times...profit and reputation. Desperate times call for desperate measures but remember this: Logically, a hotel that won't put their guests health first during a deadly pandemic must always be pretty disgusting. Stay. Somewhere. Else

I will definitely stay to that location when I go back to montreal - the lady at the front desk if I could I would have tipped her good , because the way she wanted to help me with some issues not even related to my stay in the hotel - she directed me to some nice place for food etc

Quite disappointing on so many levels. Evening front desk staff unknowledgeable and rude; had no name tag and refused to give her name when asked. The bed in my room was broken and teetered when I sat on it. Even the toilet wobbled. Talking to Manager was a waste of time; he was aloof and did not care about guests at all. I definately do NOT recommend this place and will never return.

Hotel was clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location. Minutes walking to St Catherine St. Restaurants, shopping, the Eaton Centre and the American Embassy. Room was adequate in size, very clean and a good value.

the room had a number of issues there was a hole in my ceiling stuff with paper towel the paint was peeling in the bathroom you couldn't even sit down on the toilet properly because it was right next to the shower doors. Not to mention the bed was extremely hard and the walls are paper thin and there's only one elevator for six floors which I think is ridiculous.

The staff are amazing and resolve all issues quickly .. any issues I had I would just call downstairs and it was fixed in less then 15 minutes.. location is excellent and right downtown..it's to bad for Covid because all the best restaurants are very close

I had an air bnb to start off my trip, but the cleanliness was atrocious, then found a roach and moved instantly to the hotel, which was better, but could use some improvements. I happened to drop my hair scrunchie I thought behind the bed frame and so I moved the bed slightly and I don't believe they clean behind there, I found dirt and some old chocolate remands of other guest stays luckily no bugs. Not sure if they suppose to clean under the bed area or whatnot. Anyway, on to the service, the first lady I dealt with was fairly nice. Check-in was fast and easy. Third day I asked for fresh towels but did not receive. With my whole Montreal experience I feel like maybe she didn't care enough, because I was discriminated against over the phone for not speaking French. It happens I guess. I'm hoping she just forgot and not the other but with how my other experiences went I'm not too sure. Anyways the stay was one of the more decent experiences I had in Montreal this week. I was hoping for better however.

Room was dirty with unpresent smell. It had only one small window facing a wall. Costed close to $400 a night. Four stars price with 0 star room. The worst thing was that my car got broken into in the parking lot the hotel affiliated with.

I travel for work frequently and this hotel is one of the worst. They charged me the night when I had to have a late checkout at 2:00, they had no microwave, and no fridge. The room had a strong citrus scent that made my eyes water and no window that you could open. Finally the walls were paper thin and you could hear everyone and the ice machine they put me next to.

Lovely staff at the front desk and we appreciated the timely wakeup call. Very clean hotel with incredible location close to several attractions and restaurants. Would highly recommend and highly likely to stay here again at our next trip to Montreal!

This hotel is in a great location but the hotel is not a 3 star a 2 star is more in line. The rooms need to be upgraded and the cleaning needs to be better. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel room we had was so smokey 2 of the 2 nights we stayed there. We complained to the front desk that someone was smoking around us and the front desk sent someone to our room to ask US to stop smoking.... we don't even smoke! The next night was even worse with the smell of cigarette smoke. It was absolutely terrible and we complained to Best Western. After not hearing back from them for 3 weeks I finally called back and accepted their pitiful offer of points they provided. Too bad we won't be booking with Best Western in the future as up until now this was the hotel of our choice

Stayed one night on recent business trip to Montreal. Hotel location is very good -- close to transit, shops, restaurants and bars. While a bit cramped my was room was quiet, clean and the water was hot. Check in and out pleasant.

I left the hotel after a two night stay with extremely itchy rashes on my entire body. There's another recent review from a woman saying both her and her husband got rashes after sleeping there. Not sure if it's the bed linens or cheap laundry detergent but I've now been on Benadryl and medication the last 24 hours to try and get some relief! Super upsetting.

I stayed at the BW Plus for a business trip and throughout my stay there was no hot water in my room. As it was the freezing winter month of Feb this wasn't a great situation to be in. I had to forgo showering because there was no warm water in the evening I checked in, or the following morning. To make matters worse the follow up from their staff was awful. I'd avoid this place at all costs.

I would not recommend staying here unless it was the only possible option. Upon check in I was given a room that had a window you couldn't even see out of, I went back to the front desk to see if there was another option - not asking for a view, just asking for a room where I could see outside. I was told they didn't have any rooms with windows you could see out of. Odd. After some more discussions they gave me a key to another room for me to see if I preferred, I ended up taking that room. My boyfriend and I each showered before going to bed, after my boyfriend got out we discovered the towel was covered in short black curly hair that certainly didn't belong to him - disgusting. After the first night there (out of our 2 night stay), we both woke up with painful rashes on our arms, sides and legs. I believe this was caused by the bed linens. I am now on a prescription lotion to try to clear that up. We also noticed the hallways to be extremely filthy. It looks like they have not vacuumed the hallways for weeks, or even months. The lobby had a very interesting smell, one that was not pleasant. The only perk of this place was how close it was to the Bell Centre... still not worth it though. All in all, we were very disappointed in this place, and will never be returning.

We had 22 people in our group stay in Feb 2020. Mr. Robert Yale front desk manager looked after group from the planning of rooms right to check out. Great Service by all staff. Close to Bell Center and Shopping.

Came from TO to watch a Habs game. Chose to stay here. BIG MISTAKE. Came back after the game only to find out "something" caught fire at the hotel and we were not allowed in. That's understandable but where do you go on a Sunday night, when mostly everything is closed, when it's freezing out and you don't want to spend any money?! Then you are FINALLY allowed back in 4 hours later and have to smell smoke AND they won't do anything to help you find another Hotel in the city. NOT IMPRESSED BW. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. Have not been compensated back any money yet for all the hassles. They should AT LEAST pay for that one night?! No? Don't think I'm asking too much. Rooms are WAY small if you get a queen. Clean but out dated décor.

The rooms are old and out-dated, no much espace to move around only one person, parking lot issues with space and personel. fitness romm no very clean. No the rigth size towels neither wipes to clean after use. better to pay a few extra bucks and get much better room in a near buy hotel.

This hotel has everything a tourist could ask for starting with location in the heart of Montreal. With easy access to many venues such as the Bell Centre, the Underground City and the Metro its a wonderful jumping off point. The hotel has wood floors in lieu of carpet which is appealing in itself. The rooms are lovely and the amenities are more than enough. Two onsite restaurants offer quality and price. Who could ask for more. It is now our “go to” place in Montreal

Very convenient location, right at downtown Montreal.The room is clean and spacious. The amenities look pretty new and are kept in good condition. The only drawback is that the car has to be parked in a public parking.

To be in the downtown area, you can't beat the price. The rooms are small but brilliant use of space made it possible for my husband and I not to run over each other. The decor is clean and modern and housekeeping was above average. The included breakfast at Cora's Cafe is almost too large for one person and freshly cooked. Great location. Walk out the door and turn right to go to superb restaurants. Turn left and enjoy all the shopping your could want. Front desk staff is personable and professional. They never missed an opportunity to be helpful. We were in Montreal in December so we spent plenty of time in this hotel. Nothing went wrong. When we return in the summer to be tourists, we'll be staying here again.

Negative points: No breakfast in the hotel but CORA with direct access and check-in a little slow. Doors should be sound-proof. Nevertheless, very big bathrooms and confortable rooms. Will come back anyway.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the past 10 years or so and have never had a bad experience. The staff are great and I was able to check in early. I even got a free upgrade to a king size bed. The room was clean and love the bathroom. All in all a great place to stay.

I myself am in hotel management of a 4 diamond property and understand issues arise but the 2 specific issues I had wanted addressed from hotel management are 2 of the bigger issues a guest should be reassured they will receive when choosing YOUR place of accommodation at the Best Western Plus Europa. Checkin, alina checked me into room 602 but gave me keys with 603 written on key packet. When I entered room 603 there was a half naked senior on the bed who was just as startled as I. This brings up many questions of what kind of security are you offering your guests. This affected myself and my girlfriend in regards to safety as she did not feel comfortable in the room by herself when I wanted to leave the room to smoke, I am the one that had to try doing all the reassuring for her comfort, not the hotel staff. I am just glad it was a senior and not someone who could have been more aggressive towards me and my girlfriend when walking in on them indisposed as they were. Very embarrassing!!!! 2 breakfast vouchers were issued to compensate this matter which I dont see much value in when you compare it to the safety concerns your in house guests are experiencing. HOTEL MANAGEMENT said they were going to follow up with me In regards to these matters but noone reached out for the next 2 days. Was forced to sleep on towels which isnt comfortable, gf didn't feel like any sheet was clean after that dirty sheet you see in picture etc I am very surprised you allow guests to leave your property with the pictures I have of those bed sheets and candy wrappers. Usually it's in the hotels best interest to avoid social media etc... The candy wrapper in photo was found between the pillows. I was going to ignore it at first until I was told by Alex that "it's a transparent wrapper so housekeeping probably missed it"..... (that tells me the bedding and pillows were not changed) Later that evening... I spoke with ALEX a supervisor at front desk and asked for more bedding as we felt a little cold, we were brought 2 flat sheets in which now brings up health and safety concerns. These sheets clearly could not have been washed, there was eye lashes, what appears to be a crusty substance and hairs throughout the rest of the sheet in which they expected us to lay our heads in. I explained that I had taken photos and wanted answers, but only 25% discount for only 1 night was offered which again is nothing when it comes to health and safety concerns that you need to provide your guests. The sheet was left with Alex at front desk As of right now... best western will not be a stay of choice in the future and please keep your points you offered me for not using housekeeping, I probably won't be back. The hotel is located in the heart of Montreal, not far from rue Saint-Catherine. Excellent place to enjoy urban life. The staff are courteous and above all, the rooms are immaculate. Despite the age of the hotel, the rooms have been updated up to date. The value for money in low season is very reasonable.

It was a pretty good. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Rooms were clean. Location is good for downtown experience. Considering it is a downtown hotel it was not a noisy area. I would recommend it.

We called what we THOUGHT was the Best Western Europa Montreal direct website and instead got a crappy booking service that charged us the entire amount right away for our 2 night reservation in April 2020. There was never ever ANY mention that we were not dealing directly with the hotel chain itself NOR was it ever mentioned that the entire full amount would be charged on our credit card right away. When we called we were told nothing could be done we were pretty unhappy and will be very sure we never let this happen. We called the hotel direct in Montreal and will be staying there in April anyway, because this is an awesome hotel with a great location and we have stayed there many times the last 10 years and will not let this ruin our opinion of the hotel. But the very sneaky shady and dishonest customer service we received is appalling and that organization should be ashamed of themselves.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel this past weekend. It is centrally located within walking distance to museums, restaurants and Jazz Clubs. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The hotel itself was quiet. However unfortunate for us and the hotel a new building is being erected across the street and it did get noisy. However that is not a fault of the hotel. The street was blocked off for a time. Fortunately for us that happened after we arrived. We were able to get a parking space for all three nights in the surface lot behind the building. That is the lot we were directed by the front desk. It was perfect and safe. For breakfast that are attached to a great eatery Cora's. Overall our experience was great.

I was on a business trip and first time to booking the hotel. The room is much smaller than I stayed in another Best Western Hotel. The floor looks clean but my feet were very dirty. The elevator has a very tiny space, and stops every floor. There were no hot water for 2 nights in my 6 nights stay. The toner run out when I used the printer.......

It was our first stay at his hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very helpful at check-in and made things easy. The building is old but has had recent renovations, our 2 rooms we're well appointed, very clean and comfortable. We were in town for a Montreal Canadien hockey game, the location of the hotel is perfect, 5 minute walk from the Bell Centre and 5 minutes from St-Catherine street, this hotel was perfect for our needs. I recommend it.

Overall the experience was good. There was a slight problem with water pressure. I reported it and BW was more than eager to rectify the situation. The hotel location is great as it is right in the middle of all the locations I had to go for work.

My Delta flight was delayed and I was stuck in Detroit overnight. I called hotel to cancel and was told I should have called 24 hours in advance. Duh! The hotel manager, Alex Tudor, did not even understand or care about reason. He only said repeatedly that I should have called 24 hours in advance. Super upsetting!!!

The room was large, bright and well furnished, with a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and safe it had everything I needed and then some. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant for breakfast was very good.

This hotel has very clean rooms with comfortable beds and a big screen tv. Parking is behind the hotel at $25 or $30 as they don't own the lot. A short walk to the Centre Bell. Will definitely stay here again.

Well, I don't even know where to start on this review. We went to Montreal on a getaway weekend with the family (two adults and two kids). The check-in process was really slow, then we asked for a nice quiet room. We got one on the 6th floor, room 673. We had a hard time finding our room, to later realize that we had to open another door with the swipe card and climb another flight of stairs. It was a room in a remote location of the hotel, so we thought it would be perfect. Well, this was the loudest room in any hotel we ever stayed in. The entire room was vibrating and shaking, like a jackhammer was next door. We don't know exactly what it was, but could not sleep all night. We never complained but couldn't wait to leave the hotel. The room was OK, the floor had a lot of hair, the toilet was shaking and moving in every direction, the shower head was hanging out of the wall... For the $189 we were charged, this was an awful experience. Terrible hotel, please avoid.

Walking distance to the Bell Centre which is what we wanted for our stay. However parking is a nightmare and a bit confusing. I do recommend not getting a room across from the elevators if you want a good nights sleep.

This hotel knows nothing about customer service. There's always something broken and staff does nothing to resolve any problems nevermind provide any compensation. It seems they don't want issues to be brought up. We've seen all kinds of problems that naming them would not seem believable. If you want a nice place to have a good night's sleep do not stay at this hotel, you will wake up with a stiff neck. The pillows are awful. They seem to have change them recently. They were better in the past. Also although the location is right in the heart of downtown, at night time lots of beggars and hookers in the area so families be aware. The restaurant on site (not Cora) served spoiled food. For someone who works out the gym is a joke although it does have towels and bottles of water, which is nice. There is no turn down service so if you miss the cleaning crew before 2-3pm then nothing can be done other than someone emptying your garbage and giving you new towels. Although most of the front desk staff are nice, the managers at this place are terrible and don't care about guests. They lie and mock you. And there is no word to describe the incompetent general manager. He thinks they will thrive by simply providing average service. Sure the price is reasonable and probably the only reason one should considerthis place. Pay a bit more and stay somewhere else. The Best Western for example is 100x better.

Had a mini break in Montreal and stayed 2 nights at Best Western Europa. Excellent location, great breakfast at Cora's, walkability great for self guided tours (tourist information nearby) and to Via Rail.

Worst check-in experience ever. Don't prepay your check in. It's a joke. The supervisor had no solution to fix it and he wanted my $800 for 5 night again as i had left card at home. I f&%$## prepaid and he'd have none of it saying he could not charge my card. But when I said to cancel my reservation I was leaving, he advised he would charge my Card 2 night as there was a cancelation policy.. So he could not charge my card to stay, but he could if I left. A-Hole

Stayed here on Oct 26 for 2 nights after checking out of another Hotel in the area that was unsatisfactory, The staff at this Hotel were great , with an early check in and even a phone call to check in and see if everything was okay . This will always be the place I stay when in Montreal , Best Staff and nice clean rooms . Thank You

As a joke, when we were booking the room my friend and I asked for a printed photo of Leonardo Dicaprio from the 1990s in the room. Totally forgot about it, but when we get there lo and behold there is a lovely pic of young Leo. It was hilarious. Really enjoyed my experience there

Room was nice. Small but not as small as the cruise ship we had just gotten off of. Comfortable bed. Did not notice any noise during the evening hours. Location was good for the things we were wanting to see.

A prime location in downtown Montreal...Was close to lots of shopping and awesome pubs/bars and restaurants...the front desk staff are amazing with their advice and spoke both English and French for us...their recommendations for food was on point....The rooms were beautiful and clean...I highly recommend staying at this hotel..I will definitely will be staying here again!!

Stayed here and went to the Habs game Saturday night. Blocks from the Bell Centre. Walking distance to lots of shopping and dining. Room was large and clean. Would stay here again!!! Had a problem with parking but figured it out!!!

Hotel has good location near St. Catherine, and has some agreeable staff, but the Front Office Manager, Robert Yale, will make your stay very unpleasant in the extreme if you have to deal with him on any matter of consequence. Personally saw him threatening a guest while using abusive language which is unforgivable in the 'hospitality business.' In addition the rooms are quite small, the bathrooms are third world, and staff often will not answer the phone so one has to go downstairs to speak to them. Overall, the Front Office is managed in an unprofessional,discourteous manner. A small gym was added, but it has only the basics. During August, this hotel had gall to charge 4 Star rates as the city was booked. One can overlook the other faults, but there is no excuse for rudeness, abuse, and incivility in an environment where it should be de rigueur.

Great, centrally-located hotel. However, very noisy outside and in hallways. Also, it wasn't easy to figure out the thermostat. The hotel is a bit dated. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I took advantage of getting extra rewards points by not using house keeping. Despite the noise, I would stay there again.

The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and it was a good price considering all hotels were extremely high priced at the time of our stay! I would definitely stay at this Best Western again! Excellent location

The Best Western Hotel on Drummond is our favourite hotel when visiting Montreal!Not only is the hotel spotless but the staff are so courteous and treat us like family! They go out of their way to make sure we have a comfortable stay!

Justine and her manager are the worst hotel staff I have ever come across my entire life. They are extremely rude and dont know how to treat customers. They need some hotel management course for sure. I dont know how best western plus can employ such staff

We were visiting Montreal for a special family reunion. We stayed at the BW Europa Downtown from October 5th to 8th 2019. My husband and I were very pleased with the service we received and the hospitality. Although our room was small, it was clean and cozy. The location is at the heart of downtown Montreal as were were close to all the places we visited. Good work to the staff at BW. Thank you.

We arrived early off a cruise and the staff took our bags and we returned just after midday and our room was ready. Good size room with all the amenities. Dined in the on site restaurant which has a good selection of beers and a varied menu

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They spoke fluent French and English with complete ease and made us feel welcome. They answered we had.The onsite breakfast - lunch restaurant was excellent. A good place to stay. Be sure to ask for a room off the front due to construction across the road, noise started at 06.00.

Booked last minute, got room on the Main Street. Was able to get it changed to nicer room for no costs. Gentleman at front door very professional and extremely nice. Good location and good value for the money

Good location of Hotel, close to restaurants and shopping. Room was a small but I was alone and it was ok. Rooms were clean and beds was comfortable. Water only got hot in shower after letting in run for a couple of minutes. The water in the sink never got hot. Hallways are narrow and a little dark,

Thanks to a late cancellation of our reservation elsewhere, we scrambled to find an affordable replacement. Alas, we ended up here. Room 203 has a window that lets in no light (you can't tell the weather) and an air conditioner that kept us awake each of the two nights there. It was clean enough but BW regulars are better off at their Ville-Marie property, where we've always been pleased.

We spent the Labour Weekend in Montreal and were very happy with our stay at the Best Western Plus Europa. This hotel is centrally located in the heart of downtown Montreal....steps away from Rue St Catherine and Rue Crescent for fantastic shopping and resto options. Mont Royal is also 20 min walking distance from the hotel!! The rooms are small but very clean and well maintained. Refrigerators located in the room as well as ice machines on every floor. Parking is available across the street at a multi/level Green P parking building for $18/day. We never used the car once. We walked everywhere and took advantage of the metro. Great value for this hotel! Will come again!

Very environmentally friendly, but the hotel and the rooms aren't anything special. AC is loud during the night unless switched off. Vending machines on all floors other than top floor is good. But the service at the bar is incredible. Every night I was there, the bar staff - in particular Sonia - were amazing. Quick service, very personable, and just all-round great. Would recommend on the bar staff alone.

The rooms are small but the location of the hotel is worth it. Close to the Bell Centre, Rue St. Catherine where there's lots of shopping, and so many different kinds of restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for one night to enjoy downtown with some out-of-town friends. First off, we got a free upgrade for being loyal members of the BW loyalty program. We ended up in a King room. The room was very quiet despite the fact that the hotel was busy. The room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. This hotel location is just great. Located on Drummond street just below St Catherine. You can't really ask for more. The prices are very reasonable for such a great location in one of the worlds greatest cities. The hotel boasts 2 connected restaurants. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The staff were really great. Even the cleaning ladies were quick with a smile and hello when you passed them in the hallway. Ver, very highly recommended. The only issue is that you have to park your vehicle in a third party lot on the left side of Drummond just down from the hotel.

Quite a surprising extra amenity when I opened the door to my hotel room to find strangers in Flagrante in my room. Did a double take, said 'oh, sorry, carry on' , then retreated into the hallway to process my next move. The manager was apologetic, then asked me a strange question... 'did the man get a good look at you'. Thoughts and feedback appreciated.

Great location but room and bathroom are very small. Decor dated and in need of some updating. Friendly staff. Bonus Chez Cora attached to hotel for a convenient breakfast. Would suggest if you don't have a car.

Located right in the heart of downtown Montreal. The Bell Centre is a very short walk away to the south. Lots of great food options, just north. They don't offer valet parking here but you are allowed to park in front of the hotel while checking in and you have time to take your luggage to your room. No issues with parking either, parked at the Stanley lot and there is a back door that takes you almost to the front of the hotel. The rooms are all recently remodeled as soon in their photos. Very comfortable and great service too. Highly recommend, especially if you are attending the Bell Centre.

The staff is friendly,the room was clean and the one thing I make sure the hotel has is a gym, equipment worked and was clean. The hotel is in walking distance to the metro, tourist attractions and some great restaurants.

The hotel is amazing and stuff as well. One star rating because of parking. They offer you two options: one behind the hotel which is $28.90 and not covered and the other one one block away called Autoparc Stanley which $21 and it's a proper covered parking. I decided to take the one behind the hotel. I went there and attended told me park the car very close to other cars (there are no parking lines). I did that then I realized that my car is parked too close to the car in front of me. I moved the car little bit and that's when the alteration happened. He start yelling at me and my wife in front of my kids. Luckily there was police car passing by and I waved them. I told them the whole story but they said it's a private parking and they can't do anything. Anyway, I went back to hotel and told them everything and they said they had received numerous complaints about the same parking attended. They said they will inform hotel management and they will talk to attended supervisor. I changed my parking to Autoparc Stanley. Please note that I never heard from the hotel if they took any action against the parking attended. I would recommend everyone who stays at this hotel to choose Autoparc Stanley parking

This hotel was very typical Best Western with all the basics and very clean. Staff super friendly and very helpful. Walking distance to so great restaurants and the Underground city that we had no idea existed. Also walking distance to Old Montreal which we really were not that excited over.

Very pricey, considering what you get, a very tired property, even considering a downtown location. Helpful pleasant staff. Clean though. Our room had a window that wouldn't open, only air conditioned air in the room. Nobody here it appears has heard of fitted sheets!!

Very good location. Central to most places. Walking distance to Old Montreal. Bit pricy. Parking is a little inconvenient for in/out privileges. Getting to the hotel is a little tricky with all the construction and road closures / redirection. Thank you.

I had to choose a hotel with very short notice in Montreal, 5 minutes walk from universities. Reservation was quick and easy, check-in was quick and easy. Room was large and quite. The team was helping nicely and efficiently at any time day and night. My daughter, much younger than me (:-D) also found the hotel was cool.

I changed my Hotel to the Best Western as I was not satisfied with my original hotel. I called the Best Western and they booked us in immediately. The friendliness, approachability and professionalism of the front desk staff were remarkable. The hotel was very comfortable and particularly clean. It was also in a great location for us as it was so close to the tourist office and shopping facilities. Adjoined to the property were a couple of lovely restaurants which served breakfast and other meals.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It is well-locates in the downtown Montréal area. The hotel is within walking distance from several major subway stations and bus routes so it is very easy and convenient to travel throughout Montréal. It is also a 10-minute walk from the downtown Montréal Via Rail Grand Central Station. The room was cozy with amenities and supplies that suited my stay. The bed was very comfortable and the AC unit was not too noisy. The service was very helpful and friendly.

What is going for this place is it's location. It is centrally located in downtown Montreal and walking distance to the Central Station and St. Catherine street. Room we got was a bit tight for 2 queen and 1 sofa bed but it was clean. The hallway though smelled of smoke - not that strong but a bit bothersome. Front desk service was good as staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous.

I always use the BW chain when I can. This hotel did not disappoint. Rooms were a good size. Very clean. Decent sized bathroom. Very helpful staff. Excellent location. Can walk right to the shops and the Bell Centre. Would definitely reckon and use again.

Location is great. That was the main reason I booked it. Everything in downtown is close by and you can just walk. Subway stations are also close. And also, it was the cheapest in downtown when I booked it. Scored a deal! The staff is helpful and courteous. They are very professional and can help in English and French. We have stayed at Best Western properties before and have had a positive experience and this one adds to the list. Room was sufficient for two. Bathroom amenities and size is also fine. I thought the bed was a tad bit small for queen (maybe an inch) but that wasn't an issue. Liked the way they are trying to make impact on their “green initiative”. Would definitely consider going again.

I stayed here recently and had an excellent experience. The location is perfect for downtown Montreal and not noisy at all which was unexpected. The rooms are large, beds super comfortable like all Best Western places I have stayed over the years, and with Cora's restaurant attached, makes for a super convenient spot all around.

Been to this hotel 4 times in last 5 years for convenience because it's very close to Bell Centre. We book with Expedia to get good prices thinking we are getting a quality room for a lower price. However each time we get a room behind the alley with the garbage cans. The windows face the back where the homeless scream all night, the garbage gets picked up and their enormous CentralAir Conditioning Machines are located. Coincidence?? This time there was nothing to sit on except an office chair. Unusual in any hotel room. When I asked about it at the front desk I was told that “these” rooms did not come with a sofa (or other chair) unless we upgraded to higher prices. These rooms mean: only one bed(according to front desk.) She had a condescending tone and i felt belittled by her comments. Our room was $219 plus $42 taxes. I did not want a sofa just a chair. We had a King bed, bedside tables, a desk, snd a long coffee table that had no purpose because there was no couch or chairs.The room was big and looked empty. The mattress was old and only covered with a thin stitched cover then the sheet over it. Those machines outside and the AC made noise all night. The bathroom is very small. Everything was however very clean. It is an old renovated hotel not the presidential suite. Maybe we should switch to another hotel next time who does not look down on their returning clients because they don't book the $400 bucks a night room.

Such a central location downtown, a short walk from the train station and so many food places to eat around hotel. Hallways are narrow and a little dingy but the rooms have been renovated and while there isn't central air conditioning the unit in the room was fine and the room was very clean and surprisingly contemporary. See my pictures. Good deal and plugs all over the room. Fridge and being part of the rewards program meant I got two bottles of free water a day - which was a nice bonus. I was here on business but really appreciated there is a Cora's breakfast place IN the hotel which made morning meetings fantastic. Stay here for location and price.

It was a great experience . Room was clean and tidy . It was a little small but my wife had absolutely no issues with it ...just me. I could have upgraded it at time of booking. We really only used the room for sleeping as we were out most of the time . Restaurant had great food and service. Front desk was very professional and accomodating. The only thing I did not like was the parking at a lot. I had to walk through an alleyway (next to the hotel). It was not an issue but I had to walk past garbage bins so it's not something I wanted to look at that's all.

stayed only one night @ best western - upon arrival i was greeted by a polite front desk personnel who checked me in he was warm he explained everything check in was fast - i was given 2 cans of pop of which i forget in the fridge ...upon entering the room i was expecting more the room was small but cozy the agent had upgraded me for free to a king size it was ok the shower was great i was only there for a few hrs....they don't offer breakfast but i knew that going in but it would have been nice if they did,,, what was great was after checking out i needed to go check out the city but didn't want to bring my bag an agent informed i can leave my bag in a safe room they tag the bag and gave me a ticket to pick it up later that was great service all in all it was a good stay cant say great but it suited the purpose

On business travel, hotel was well located Downtown near restaurants, shopping, and they gave me a complimentary upgrade to a comfortable spacious room with good size working desk, and were supportive of my needs. I would consider to stay here again based on value for money.

This property has a great location to visit downtown Montreal. It is just below Ste Catherine which is the main downtown strip with shops, entertainment and restaurants galore. 2 Blocks from Crescent St which downtown Mtl Nightlife hub. Speedy Check-in, spacious room.and comfortable like you would expect from BW. The lobby is lower than street level so you will need to use the elevator on right to descend with your luggage. One elevator was being worked on, so patience was required. These are the smallest elevators I have been in but they were speedy and no a big issue. No breakfast at this hotel - Cora's (breakfast chain is attached to lobby but super busy). Better to go off property for more than the coffee in your room.

Smelly air conditioning unit. Smelly clogged shower drain. Black Mold in the shower. Dust along the base boards. Not spacious at all. Smelly area around the outside of the hotel as you walk inside. Did not feel clean staying in this hotel.

Very dirty room. The bathtub/shower drain didn't work. I contacted the hotel lobby team in the morning on July 19th/2019 about the problem and the said they would help me. I came back to my room, around 11:30pm, with my 83 year old mom after a hot day in Montreal and I just found the same problem. When I contacted the reception "Stephane" told me that they were very busy so they didn't fix anything. I was waiting for a clean room and a decent shower! this is what I expect from a 3 stars hotel. The hotel team really don't care about the guests.

I was surprised by the lobby/reception area of this hotel. A small set of steps leads to the reception desk. An elevator option was not immediately visible to me, and the sitting area was frankly depressing. More like a dormitory than a higher-end hotel. A tacky souvenir shop opened in to the common area. There is no area for cars to pull up but I was able to easily find a taxi to take us to the bus station at checkout. No sign of tour buses, which is great. That said, the staff was helpful, especially when I discovered that the higher rate I paid for a better room put me on a low floor with a dark, small room. I requested a change and got a better room that was in a side area that involved two flights of stairs. I got quite a workout on this trip. There was a wedding on the weekend I visited so I suspect it was hard to get a room change and I was grateful for the large room I ended up with. The mattresses were comfortable, the desk adequate for our work; the personal safe was great and held two laptops easily. The A/C unit was extremely noisy but worked well. The bathrooms, though, were fantastic. No tub but gorgeous marble with large shower enclosure and sink counter. Clean exercise room on the ground floor was fine. No public spaces other than the gritty lobby. It would have been nice to have access to a rooftop terrace. All in all, I would not stay here again. Even using the AAA rates, better options exist for a more comfortable and hospitable stay.

Although it was only one night, I had a perfect stay in this hotel. Kind people, good room, good bed. It was quiet, and there was a very good restaurant with meals with fresh fruit! It is not the most modern hotel I ever stayed in, but it was good!

We moved to this hotel after having a terrible experiance at another (different) hotel - and, we're glad we did. We have a GREAT experience at this Best Western! The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and professional.

We were able to get around perfectly from the hotel. The reception people were ever so helpful with suggestions for touring &eating. There is a lovely restaurant on the property for breakfast etc. The rooms are comfortable.

Excellent 3 star hotel located in downtown Montreal. Location is a definite plus. Shopping, restaurants and attractions are all close. Hotel is simple and clean. Rooms are small but more than adequate. Nightly rates are very reasonable for a downtown hotel.

I booked one night on points then confirmed two times for the second night only to get a text that we had left our luggage in our room, yes we did because we had booked the second night with two different staff members.

We arrived at the end of a very long day that began well before dawn and encompassed connecting flights with long delays. The desk clerk was cheery and helpful, providing us with valuable suggestions for our outing the next day. However, when we got to our room, we discovered it was not the size, style, or location of the room we reserved. Too tired to argue at that point, we fell into bed without even eating. If only we had been given the type of room we reserved, our entire stay would likely have been much more pleasant. The next morning, my husband approached the manager, who said we could choose a discount or a move to a different room. Not wanting to repack and then unpack again, we chose the discount, which was our mistake. The tiny bathroom was difficult to navigate, but the worst part was the street noise. A major construction project is across the street and the constant pounding, clanging, and grinding as well as the roar of big trucks was mind-numbing. The hotel is adjacent to a sports bar and all night long there was drunken shouting and singing going on, and even some fireworks. Add to that the frustration that housekeeping did not appear until mid-afternoon and you have a picture of our stay. The hotel itself is nice. It's been recently remodeled with contemporary furnishings and finishes. They provide toiletries, bottled water, and coffee for the one-cup coffeemaker. The adjacent restaurant, Chez Cora, has excellent, reasonable breakfasts and lunches. Dozens of restaurants and retail stores are within easy walking distance, and the Metro subway station is just a few blocks. The rooms are nice and the location is excellent. Just be sure you don't have a room facing Drummond street.

We arrived at this location despite the construction overhaul of Montreal's highways. With a large delivery truck in the front doorway almost missed it! Check-in staff friendly and helpfull if somewhat overworked. Room was newly decorated and clean. We were very surprised by the neighborhood, massàge parlors, xxx shows and strip clubs, and some questionable types on the corners. I was inutially afraid I had made a mistake booking here but the people were friendly and not pushy or offensive and I felt safe even at night. Future guests note parking is extra and off site, no breakfast only a Cora's restaurant $$ .

I stayed here for business travel and was quite satisfied. I chose the location based on proximity to the Bell Centre and the STM system. Easy check-in and check-out at this hotel. Interior of the hallways and corridors is a little dated but the rooms have been modernized and are kept extremely clean.

It's superb location in downtown Montreal. Walking distance to museums, science center, old Montreal, via train station and Chinatown. Lots of choices of restaurants and shopping are close by. Friendly staff as well.

I planned my wife birthday night out on spur-of the- moment. I made reservation at Best Western Downtown where shopping and restaurants are plentiful. We had a great day walking around taking in the sights and a even better night going out. Hotel location was perfect where we could walk and leave the car behind.

My husband and I booked a room on April 28th for our trip to the Montreal GP. Our credit card was charged on May 16th for the two night stay, then our credit card was billed again on June 7th for the two nights. A phone call was placed to the manager twice prior to getting a response ( he never bothered to return the call, it was his front desk assistant ) and I was told the second charge to our credit card was done in error and would be released. I noticed that our rewards didn't post, so I called the 800 number and they proceeded to call the hotel and the front desk Manager told them that we never showed up to our reservation so we weren't entitled to our reward points. I explained that I spoke to the front desk person the day before about the mix up with my credit card and went as far as to explain that it made no sense, how could I cancel a reservation on June 11th for a stay on June 7th and 8th and she agreed. You don't cancel a reservation three days after you were supposed to check in! EXTREMELY disappointed in the service received by both the front desk at the hotel as well as the reward center. Watch your credit card charges when booking this hotel.

a very nice balance from quality and stay. Unfortunately something went under the sfa in the room and I discovery a full mess there has not been cleaned for ages I guess, after that I found it a bit less nice - but still would go again

My daughter's university residence room was better than this! It's probably the smallest room I ever experienced amongst 1,000+ hotels including Europe to which I travelled surely over 200 times! Grant you if you want to experience ''capsule'' rooms in Japan, it would be smaller ...but here we are in a normal hotel expecting an average size room. The bathroom- let me reword this the shower/toilet closet was also minuscule. On top of this it felt as if I was in a prison with a small window. To make matters worst, noise from the construction across the street starts at approx. 6h00 am and each time the A/C starts it's as if the engines of a plane are starting. The reception area is quite deceptive on it's own and small corridors leading to the rooms makes it for a two stars hotel. Most of the staff is fine, a few offering better service...but this isn't generalized. The hotel is very centrally located next to Ste-Catherine St. but in an area that seemed a bit sleazy. Needless to say we will not be back!

Was on the floor above the top floor had a private balcony... (excellent) There is construction across the street that starts early so don't expect a sleep in... unless your on the back side of the hotel... Great service from reception staff

We booked the hotel using Priceline website. The hotel is central located,in downtown Montreal. Old hotel, very small rooms..claustrophobic. High expense for the value... Disappointed with the Receptionist staff..Night before checking out as I usually do, stopped at the front desk asked about the copy of the bill and information about taxi to the airport.. the receptionist was very polite explained that this will be available the day on check out and just to inform the front desk 30 minutes before leaving so they can arrange pick up.. Unfortunately surprisingly poor experience the next day ..first was told if I am booking trough Priceline to ask Priceline for bills and they do not call taxi for guests..I have to find taxi out of the hotel.. I have visited multiple hotels trough my travels ... have never had such experience..Best Western should keep higher standard then this..

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable place to stay. Great location in downtown Montreal. Close to the Bell Centre. The only thing that would be nice is if there was a better parking option than the one associated with the hotel. I ended up parking my car at another hotel accross the road because i wanted indoor parking and something more secure. Very overall a great hotel.

We wanted a good downtown Montreal location for our stay and this BW is ideally situated downtown with everything close by. We booked months ahead as we knew our itinerary and snagged a very good rate. You do pay extra if you want breakfast included. Recommended.

Very clean, quiet hotel. The lobby was bright and cheerful. Check was fast and efficient. Our room was clean and big enough for three adult travelers. The location was close to the metro lines, dining and entertainment. The gym was clean with nice weight machines, did not use the treadmills as we walked enough in the city. The restaurant Cora was Excellent, we ate breakfast there each morning great selection and value.

I could say something about the room (very small, but clean and comfortable) or the breakfast (delicious, restaurant is an external provider), but I like to mention the staff at the front desk this morning - the most useless person I have ever met at a front desk. Refused to sell a breakfast voucher two days ago, refused to call a taxi today.... thank you for being unkind!

Excellent location in downtown Montreal. Very close to Centre Bell, restaurants, shopping, pubs, & the Metro and Bus routes. Staff very friendly and the room was very clean. Fridge and coffee makers in the room. The room was a good size and complimentary bottle water was in the room and restocked daily. Restaurants on site as well as a hair salon & fitness centre. Good value for the money. Will stay here again when looking to book in downtown Montreal.

Reception: The reception lady was pleasant and quick, but instead of providing us information on Montreal, she said “My name is ...., if you need anything, just contact me, I'm here until 11.00pm”. We then asked for some maps, these were provided and were guided to the lift. Room / facilities: Room #671 (level 6 and a walk up stairs to the next higher floor) is a spacious open and bright street facing executive room with 2 x king beds, sofa bed, safe, small fridge, desk and chair, shower only (no tub) bathroom, single arm chair and bedside tables, wooden floors with a small piece of rectangle carpet on one side of the bed. The flat screen TV is located approx 2m from the base of the bed. The room has a huge street facing window that does not open and smaller windows facing the roof “terrace” that have sliding panels to allow for air to enter. Whilst the air conditioner is self controllable, there is no “fan only” on the air-conditioner, this forces you to have the “hot or cold” air conditioning on 24/7 for any sort of air flow around the room. An Ice machine and vending machines are located on all floors near rooms ending in 07 eg 207, 307 Improvements/ letdowns - Whilst the room was large it was a bit cool. - Small amounts of construction noise, from across the street, were evident, but for me, it was nothing sufficient to disturb my morning sleep. - Maintenance requires attention. - Ikea style furniture is used Some minor maintenance problems, eg loose power outlet, doors not closing flat into walls. Maintenance concerns were addressed by both Anthony and Alex. Both gents went above and beyond to assist us and ensure we were happy during our stay. Wifi: Fast and complementary. Breakfast: All day breakfast from 7.00am to 3.00pm. In the restaurant, located near the hotel reception. American style food. Conclusion: Great location. Walking distance to many restaurants, shopping area and Bell center. Location / Nearby: - City center and all it has to offer. - Provigo le Marché supermarket - Bell center for major sporting and concert events. Getting to hotel: Walk from Montreal Central Station, take the 747 airport bus from airport or a taxi for a flat rate of $41.00 CAD. Allow a up to 1 hour to travel to/ from the airport, as traffic always heavy in both directions, even at 7.15 am.

Good place to stay if you like to shop and eat. The Museum of FA is also close by and an easy walk. So its location location location for this establishment. The room felt a little neglected but was clean enough with working wifi. Nice that a Cora Restaurant is attached to the hotel for a breakfast option. I was able to check in early (this is available to Best Western Rewards clients) which was greatly appreciated. Nice friendly staff -they will hold your luggage for you if needed. Also very near to a 747 bus stop if you are needing an inexpensive and easy way to get to YUL (Pearson Intl Airport)

The hotel is great and very clean smells good , close to st Catherine's st we were very content to stay there we were on the 6 th floor and getting around was easy and convenient staff was great and friendly we loved it there

Close to the train station, and in the heart of the main shopping district, this hotel was really good value for the money. It's clean and comfortable, with some useful amenities like a business centre and fitness room. Beds are super comfortable. The only thing I would have liked is proper glasses in the room, instead of plastic, which is wasteful, and not as nice. Montreal is working towards eliminating drinking straws and other plastics, so perhaps this hotel will follow suit.

Great location right in he heart of Downtown. We could walk to everywhere. The Metro was close to the hotel too. Rooms are average and clean. Staff was nice and helpful. There was an elevator to get to reception desk, so we did not have to take our luggage up or down the stairs. It is a 3 star hotel because it needs some updating, but for the price it was perfect. Also the restaurant upstairs was very good.

I have now stayed at this hotel four times over the past 12 year. Never has it been in better shape or a better value for the location. Just off St. Catherine Street, it is walking distance to most things downtown. Myself and several of my friends have had their Lasik surgery done in Montreal. This hotel is by for the most convenient, affordable and best located for us when we went there. It was not all about location. The hotel has been pleasantly updated through the years to quite possibly the best that it has been since I have been going there. Rooms are clean and well laid out, Elevators are fast and the onsite restaurants were very good for a hotel offering. I'd highly recommend this hotel for a trip to that area of Montreal.

The best western hotel Europa locates at a central area of Montreal. 20 mins walk from the hotel to Mountain Royal and some great restaurants. The service is above average, friendly staff. Housekeeping could be improving a bit. We found some long hairs on our pillows, bed, and washroom. Overall cleanliness is acceptable. Good value for the price at this area.

For the price, I suppose it was ok, but I hope you're an early riser because the construction and street noise starts early. I tried calling before my checkin and no one picked up the phone which was frustrating and I tried calling on several occasions.

Very good location in downtown Montreal. Paid parking available nearby (behind the hotel). Room was good. Only two negatives were the bed could have been better and microwave should have been in the room. Overall very good experience.

The room was small, and extremely loud due to a poorly function elevator. Staff were difficult and unprofessional, gave contradictory information. Hotel smelled of perfume in the rooms (they showed me multiple, all were low quality). People were smoking inside the hotel.

Wonderful place to stay in Canada, the only thing is the parking. Would be nice if we didn't have to pay for parking. Also the parking lot is outside and not in a safe arrive. The hotel it self was nice.

We have stayed at about 20 Best Westerns in 8 different provinces and states. This was by far the worst experience so far. Our kids are joking that we stayed at the 'Worst Western' at Hotel Europa on Drummond street. To be fair, part of our experience was affected by the construction inside the hotel and the full hotel because of a large concert nearby. Outside of our room were extension cords and drywall dust, it appeared we were staying in a part of the hotel that should be closed off during construction. The squeal from one of the elevator brakes was unbearable in the middle of the night. At 3:30am, Staff refused to switch one of the elevators to maintenance mode and they were unable to offer us a room away from the elevator. Our room was beside the elevator shaft. The sound of the elevator was okay, but the screech at each stop was unbearable. The Manager appeared unable to fully listen to our complaint and appeared uninterested. He would often talk over me when i was trying to explain why i had not slept, there was zero acknowledgment that it would be very difficult to sleep through the screach. I requested a credit for the night and a quieter room for remainder of our stay, he said he would offer 25% off for one sleepless night and he could not confirm a different room for us. Twice I asked him to call my cell phone when another room is ready, but he said that I need to come back later. While eating breakfast it felt like we were going to spend part of the day wondering if we are stuck in the screetchy room. I played the sound recording for someone who knows more than I about elevator mechanics - he said clearly the brakes need servicing. I then went to find another hotel. I returned to Hotel Europa to request our booking be cancelled because they had been unable to offer an adequate solution. I just needed him to genuinely acknowledge there is an issue with that elevator noise and say someone is coming to look at it - he could have even lied to me and I probably would stayed there again. But he continued to talk over me when I suggested they disable that elevator at night. So I find it very interesting that while initially the Manager offered zero refund, even though they were apparently at capacity and could have easily rented our room to someone else, that when I asked "Is there a safety issue with that elevator that you are not addressing", that almost immediately he said "Sir I have already offered you a full refund". The Best Western located in downtown Montreal is bland and unexciting. When I arrived, I found out that I could have booked using my CAA card and received a third night for free. Since I booked online through a booking company, I did not receive this promotion. The receptionist was unapologetic and insincere about this inconvenience. Construction is going on outside of the building, so if you want to be woken up by loud bangs at 0700am then this is the spot for you. There were homeless people begging for money outside of the hotel at times, which made me uneasy. Lastly, there was no shampoo, conditioner, body lotion in the room on my first night which I should not have to request. Additionally, parking is 28$/day which is not unreasonable in Montreal. However, the parking area was questionable and we did not feel particularly safe parking there. You can definitely find a better Hotel in downtown Montreal. I will say that the rooms are clean and the location is great.

Perfect location for Bell Center. 5 mins walk. No need for a car. Central to everything. Good value for money . Comfy beds . No carpets ,all laminate floors in rooms. Will definitely stay here again .

We hear everything going on through the walls. I could not sleep until 4 am because of people getting back from clubs. The sheets were clean, but there was a strange odor in the room. Other than that, it smelled marijuana in the bathroom all day. Not a good experience at all.

Amazing location, in the heart of downtown of Montreal. Shopping area and good restaurants walking distance. Great location to take a subway; old Montreal is very close, too. Room was very modern, very clean, beautiful shower set up. Front desk service was superb, we needed a taxi for 5 am morning, the clerk was very helpful to arrange that, too. 5 points out of 5!

We chose this hôtel due to the price and its proximity to the Bell Centre. The Room was very clean but not very big. Very nice bathroom . Elevators are tiny and the doors close on people with no warning, so we took the stairs.

Excellent! I felt safe and secure in this hotel, and it had everything I needed. The fitness centre, coras, iron and ironing board, and very helpful staff. It was clean, and comfortable. The location was ideal as well.

Our stay at this hotel was very positive . The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom also was clean and the shower was great. A friendly and courteous staff rounded out a very good stay.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights and was not disappointed. Location is excellent on Drummond just one block from Saint Catherine and great shopping. $7 cab ride from the train station. 5 minute walk to the Bell Centre. Room was quite spacious. Loved the bathroom with all the marble and a large shower. There is a Cora's in the hotel as well as Addie's restaurant which is great for pub food, pizza, etc. Staff were quite helpful and we got our early check in as expected. There is no pool but the location is a bonus. Very good value for the money!

Recently booked with this hotel and had been checking the weather. The morning I was meant to leave for Montreal (6+ hrs drive) and storm warning with 20cm was issued. I called the hotel to cancel due to the weather and got a flat refusal. Asked if they had no wiggle room given people were asked to limit non-essential travel. Nope. Asked the front desk clerk if, when I got into an accident on the way down and called would she consider, she flippantly replied "give us a call". For the sake of +$100 this hotel chain has lost all my business. Will post everywhere. They TAKE MONEY WITHOUT RENDERING SERVICES. Best Western client services are mediators only; each hotel independently owned.

Pleasant and comfortable stay at this downtown Montreal hotel. A short walk from all the sites and shopping on St Catherine St. Parking was available beside hotel at a reasonable cost. Front desk staff very friendly.

Looking for somewhere downtown close to Bell Center and shops. Everything we wanted. good location, clean ,very friendly ,etc . Nothing at all negative ,great trip, hope to do it again. Recommend this hotel to all family and friends.

Lets start off by laying out all the facts. I am a Best Western Gold Member. I booked a Queen room. I got 'Upgraded' To a King room. I use upgraded very loosely. I was told it was bigger, and a much nicer room. I was then asked if stars were OK, there were a few to get to the room. Sounded OK so I took it. Well...we park (another headache because it was a game night and the parking attendant for EM (outside company working with Best Western for hotel guests) sent us to another lot.OK were parked and going to the room. There are about 20-25 stairs to go up into a barren hallway. We get to the room. Its open, airy and better than what I assumed. It has a patio door, king bed, HIGH ceilings. I'm impressed. Until. The. Elevator. Starts. The walls shake, a loud bass rumble. You can hear the DING of the elevator. Its cold too. Does the patio door even lock? Unacceptable. A visit to the front desk and i spoke with Anthony. He gave us a Queen unit on a lower floor away from the elevator. Glorious. Such a relief. Check out - I have Best Western travel cards (Gift certificates). The Morning person for check out could not process them. He said he didn't know how. He tried for about 15 mins. I paid in full via credit. I really hope anyone taking anything away just knows not to take the 'upgrade' to the 670s and have to walk on the stairs. Once we were in the queen room, it was cozy, warm, and quiet. Even on a game night. I give this a 3/5. If we would not have had the 'upgrade' to that particular part of the building and able to use the travel cards, It would be a 4.25/5

No hot water for over 24 hours, with little accommodation to remedy yet. Room was not as requested. Hotel staff consistently lied or responded with blank stares. Nothing good to say about this hotel. Location decent.

It is a good value, the location is amazing but we could not sleep because of the noise from other guests (seems like it is popular between very young people). Rooms were comfortable and clean. They have paid parking.

Had mixed feelings here before. Also with the two stays here in February. Got a little upgrade after some bad stuff on first stay. If I just could get same on future stays... then I for sure would stay here again. You will probably be totally ok here, for the price paid. You know its not a 5 star when booking. The food place downstais is great (not included) Put the AC on auto - then its more silent. Not just head or cool.

We stayed here on a overnight on our way down south. You cannot beat the location. Right off St. Catherine's street. The rooms are a little tight but very clean and modern. extra bonus is Cora's is located in the hotel. The best breakfast.. Yummm

This hotel was overall disappointing! Noisy construction, -30 degrees outside and the ac on when we arrived. Took all night to warm the room with heat maxed at 86 degrees. Bugs in the bathtub! Never again despite the location!

Great location in downtown Montreal. Everything was beyond expectations. We were offered early check in which made it possible to park our vehicle nearby and begin our exploration of Montreal. Definitely will stay again!!

The hotel was in a great location for access to the Old Port, Metro Stops, etc. However, the street where it was located was a bit run down and like most of Montreal, under construction. Service was good. The room was large and comfortable and there was good wifi. paid valet parking is available. The included breakfast was disappointing. Too much white bread.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel lobby was freezing. The hallways were freezing. There was construction across the street that went on until after 7pm the Friday evening and started back up again on Saturday at 7am! Staff made no mention of this annoyance. There was no parking and had to pay an additional charge for parking in sketchy area behind the hotel. Location is ideal but after pre- paying for this hotel stay and then double charged with just an "Oh, sorry we will fix that" just wasn't a place I'd stay at again. The room was mediocre at best and the drafts by the window where the bed was, was awful. Certainly not a good night's sleep with the cold and the added noise of early morning construction. Not many pluses in this so called "plus' hotel.

We brought our daughter to Montreal for school at Concordia. Tge apartment was not ready so we booked in at Best Western where they made accommodations for us with no fuss. This was very nice. The restaurants in the Hotel were wonderful - breakfast at one and wonderful dinners at the other. The hotel is in a great location whether going to a hockey game or shopping.

This is such a great location for all possibilities, shopping, eating and cultural exhibits.walking distance to St-Catherine with all it's hidden gems underground mall and metro system close by.nothing you can't do in this City.

Booked that hotel because my husband and I had an early flight at the Montreal airport so it was easier for us to stay in a hotel the night before. The check-in was quick and easy. The clerk was very helpful and answered all of our questions. The room wasn't perfectly clean but it was still more than fine for a one night stay. The hotel would need some renovations as well.

My granddaughter and I stayed here for 4 days and it was excellent .staff very friendly and helpful .a very clean .also excellent location for shopping ,within walking distance .. The food in the restaurants (addies and Cora's ) downstairs was very good .Thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

Great place to stay right in the heart of downtown half a block to downtown shopping etc on Ste. Catherine. Very clean, comfortable rooms and a CORA breakfast place connected to the lobby for great early meal at a decent price. Business or pleasure it's very nice place to stay at.

I was in town for a concert and was flying solo for this trip. I booked the room based on price and other people's reviews. You can't beat the price for being in the heart of the action of downtown Montreal. Check In was smooth and easy. I arrived super early on the day of the check-in and they held my travel bag so I didn't have to drag it around while waiting for a room to be ready. They said to come back between 11am and noon and a room should be ready. Sure enough, at 11am I stopped by and my room was ready. I ended up with a room on the top (6th) floor. The room was small, and didn't really have a view, but I don't travel to other cities to hang out in hotel rooms. While the room was small, it had everything I needed. 2 complimentary bottles of water, a refrigerator, a large LCD TV and a super comfortable king size bed with amazing pillows. The room was very clean and the bathroom was equally clean. There's a shower only, but I prefer to only have a shower over a tub anyway. The hotel was quiet and has a gym (which I didn't use). The location is exceptional. You are between two of the busiest streets in town (St. Catherines West and Rene Levesque) and about a 5 minute walk to the Bell Center where they host NHL hockey games and top drawing concerts. You are close to tons of bars and restaurants within steps of the front door. I will definitely stay here again, if you keep the prices this good!

We needed a hotel in the downtown Montreal area and this hotel was perfect. The staff was amazing and accommodating. We were allowed an early check in, and on the day we checked out, they allowed us to leave our bags with them until 4 pm which was much appreciated. Our room was clean, and just what we needed - it was a little bit on the small side, but we don't need anything bigger. There are no carpets in the room, which was refreshing and made everything feel clean and modern. WiFi worked great, no complaints there. The gym looked updated and clean, but I spent my time exploring downtown Montreal instead of in the gym. I liked the Cora's restaurant that is on site, we had lunch there one day and it was delicious. Hotel also has another restaurant and bar on site, but I didn't get to try that out. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for anyone staying in this downtown area of Montreal.

Don't book here if you have small children or anyone with mobility issues. The website is deceptive and appears that rooms are as commodious as other hotels we have stayed at in Montreal but the room they booked us into was so small my husband couldn't even get his walker between the bed and the dresser. I am a small woman and the bathroom is so small that it is impossible to sit on the toilet with banging your knees against the shower door. The elevators are so small that only two adults and no luggage can fit on the lift so you have to make multiple trips. When I asked for a wheelchair accessible room, they said yes one was available but I have to call ahead for this. The hotel corridors are so narrow it would appear that this older building has been retrofitted to squeeze in more rooms than originally designed. The narrow corridors are downright dangerous if there was an emergency. The hotel entranceway opens onto the sidewalk so you are parking on a street. It is not wheelchair accessible as they claim, in spite of what I asked AHEAD when I did this booking. Parking is outdoors and more expensive than indoor parking in very clean facilities like the Marriott Chateau Champlain.

Located righ in the heart of Montreal. This hotel is of course a little older but it makes up with chic rooms, very lovely beds, wonderful new bathrooms with glassed-in huge walk-in showers and very helpful and friendly staff. A good restaurant and bar on site and a super nice restaurant, not the same one, for breakfast. All of them, without having to go outside. Many real nice and some very expensive, restaurants withing easy walking distance. Take a stroll in the safe neighbourhood at night. Montreal is alive!! You will love it.

OK place. We were on a budget and so stayed here one night based on the TripAdvisor rating, price, previous experience with Best Western, central location and proximity to the 747 airport bus service. A big plus for us was the restaurant which is actually a Cora: Cora being an excellent Quebecois breakfast and brunch chain. Drummond street is an interesting mix of family restaurants, xxx massage parloirs, vacant lot car parks and a fire station with the Best Western/Cora in the middle. Our rooms were clean and varied in size. The same can be said for the bathrooms with walk in shower. The mattresses were on the soft side by my standards but we all slept well. The rooms are well sound insulated although equipped with antedeluvian North American air-conditioners/heaters which take a night to get used to if you leave them switched on. There is also a small refrigerator and the hallmark BW tea/coffee maker. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. For shoppers, the hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from the Eaton Center and Musée Grevin. Overall, not the best Best Western I have stayed in but we came away with no complaints and felt the value for money to be correct.

Cesar was wonderful. He was very helpful in planning a surprise I wanted to pull off for my new husband. Even with their systems down, we had a quick check-in, were asked if we required help up to our room as there was a half a flight of stairs we would have to climb. There were always 2 people at the desk ready to answer any questions you may have. They are 2 blocks from the main entrance of the Bell Centre which was perfect as we were attending a concert. 5 minutes walk from the train station, 7 minute walk to Rue Saint Catherine where there were many shops and restaurants to enjoy. Always a cab waiting outside waiting for you but their rates where too high and not very pleasant. We ubered everywhere and there was not shortage of them. They were much more knowledgeable and ready to offer you recommendations. Will definitely be staying here next time we return to Montreal.

The most informative things I would say to others considering staying at this hotel are as follows: PROS: -It has a location very near the Bell Centre. -There is reasonable parking around the corner. -There are a lot of restaurants nearby if you need breakfast, or get some of the famous Montreal bagels and bring them back to your room. They keep for a day or two. CONS: -This is definitely a budget hotel. Many of the finishes are updated, but it had a low-end vibe and smell in the corridors and our room. -The elevators are really tiny. -The cleaning staff is overwhelmed, and are not actually cleaning all rooms. -The front desk staff was clueless. If you have a problem, deal directly with the manager, then follow up on anything that was promised. I would not be interested in staying at this hotel again. There are far better hotels in this area and around the same price range.

This hotel and its staff are lovely! We got there quite late (midnight) and Terry was an absolute gem! He was friendly and personable. Checked us in quickly so we could get to our room. And what a room it was! It was huge with a terrace! Note: not all rooms are this big but we lucked out. The hotel was clean and neat. Cesar was also an outstanding staff member. He made us feel right at home. Everyone did. The hotel location is perfect for a visit to Montreal without having a vehicle. It's a block from St Catherine's street with the shopping, restaurants and night life. It's also a perfect location if you want to get to Bell Centre. It's a block and half away. Walk out of the hotel turn right and you can see it. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks everyone for the great stay!

You really can't beat the location. It's in the middle of everything so we were able to walk to almost everything. We had a suite, which was large and super clean. However once we got off the elevator we had additional steps to walk up. With luggage, it was a bit tough. I would suggest that the hotel offer to assist people in those rooms. It was everything I need in a hotel, if I find myself in Montreal again, I would stay here.

There's lots of positives about this hotel. The location is three blocks from the Bell Centre, a 3 minute walk. It is also just off St. Catherine's with all its high end shopping and lots of restaurant choices. The Eaton Centre, for example, is a few blocks away. It's also close to Mont Royal, albeit straight up hill. The rooms are huge and very clean. They're also well equipped. I like having a mini-fridge. Also, there is Cora's breakfast restaurant attached a bar/bistro, Addies, attached, both of which are excellent. There is a gym on the main floor and a larger than most business Centre that worked just fine. Some small negatives are no pool and no free breakfast. There were bigger issues as well. The whole computer system was down and it was a bit of a nightmare to get checked in. Nothing that the staff could have done about it, but certainly lowers the rating. Also, there is construction across the street. It didn't bother us much. The noise is fairly muffled, at least in our room. It started at about 8:00 AM. Again, nothing the staff could do about it. The front end staff was not overly attentive. I had to request extra pillows twice. We had some very polite and sympathetic responses to the frustration of the computer systems being down and some that were obviously feeling the exasperation of the situation. The other complaint is that there are not enough plugs in the room. I always appreciate modern hotel rooms with lots of plugs for iPhone, Apple Watch, camera battery, etc. In this room, we had to move furniture to find enough plugs.

Stayed here overnight on our way to Quebec. The rooms are tiny but they were advertised as a small room. It was very clean and comfortable though so I found it to be well worth the price in an expensive city.

The location is good, just a 25 minute walk to old Montreal. The bed was comfy and the room quiet. Adjacent to the hotel was a restaurant were you could buy a delicious breakfast. Just a couple of minutes walk away was a craft beer pub that also served good food.

Location is brilliant, close to Rue St. Catherine and just 3 minutes from Peel Metro. Staff were friendly, uncomplicated and helpful. The hotel room was quiet, clean and had everything for a 3-star. The bed was very comfortable. Slept really well. in comparison the hallway carpets were slightly rough looking, but I did not care because my room was good. They don't have breakfast facilities at the hotel... the recommended "breakfast" restaurant adjoining is a ripoff... $15 for a small omelette for instance. Overall the hotel is a clean and good value stay. I would go again.

Very clean room freshly renovated. Numbers on the doors are confusing if you are off the main hallways. Making it difficult to find your room. My wife and I booked 2 nights in the hotel using air miles 1 night on my account 1 on her's. Even though my CC was on the room The man who identified him self as the manger was very rude to both of us on the phone and would not let me check in without my wife. We needed to use the business centre and the printer ran out of toner. We asked if they had toner from the girl at the front desk and the manger rudely interrupted and told us he is looking for it and to wait. The rest of the staff was great and friendly, this guy seemed to have had 2 bad days in a row. No parking at this hotel. The Taxis take up all the street parking so there was no where to unload your luggage. The parking lot behind the hotel only takes cash. Don't recommend this hotel if you have a Car.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted warmly. Check-in was quick and easy. We had a car and the staff suggested two parking lot options as the hotel itself does not have parking. We took the least expensive that was only a block from the hotel and it allowed us to leave the garage and return without additional charges - you get a 24 hour pass for each day you pay for. The room was on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel - it was clean and had all the things we needed. For an additional charge they offer 'on-site' breakfast - basically a coupon that can be used in Cora's on their main floor. We opted instead to eat breakfast at the restaurants on St. Catherine's Street which is half a block north of the hotel. If you are only interested in seeing old Montreal this location is not great as old Montreal is a long walk from the hotel. But it is close to the good shopping on St. Catherine's and to Mont Royal.

I tried to book on booking.com,hotels.com even had customer service at hotels.com try to book me, all with no luck accepting my 3 digit number on my CC#. Worried I won't have a hotel I used the hotel website to book that same room. 2 days later a deal showed up in the Ads in my email account for $20 off each nigh X 2 = $40+tax. I email the hotel and they won't help me. No thank you free breakfast etc...

This hotel is in a great location to visit downtown Montreal. Walking distance to many attractions!! Close to restaurants, bars and Spas. We have stayed here on a few weekend getaways. Rooms are a bit small, but we did not spend a lot of time at the hotel.

We were on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel. There is a lengthy construction project going on across from the front door. We were a party of 5 rooms. Some at the front found the morning noise unaccepetable and the staff moved them quickly and efficiently. Others didn't mind the noise. The staff were all pleasant and efficient. I like the parquet floors in the room for the cleanliness factor. We had one comfy chair and one desk chair. The bed and linens were good. AC unit is white noise. We had some spots of something on the wall near the desk. i am hoping it was coffee. The rest of the room was clean. We went to the bar/cafe on mezz. level. Friendly, but wine is EXTREMELY limited. For example white wine...yes, but only chardonnay. Found this weird. Cora cafe is good for breakfast. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

We arrived quite exhausted at 10:30 AM. Ms. Sabina at the front desk was very welcoming and gave us at that early hour a spacious room on the fourth floor. She also extended our checkout till 1 PM (which was common). We liked the light brown parquet floor (I read that someone complained about it). We were at the end of the corridor, so we did not experience any noise. Bed was very comfortable. We have not had a chance to turn on the large TV. Bathroom was neat but compact. Air condition was efficient. Maybe we were just lucky, since every thing looked clean and new. Breakfast was not included.There was a Cora diner inside the hotel and we ate there twice. Many of the dished included lots of fruits in addition to regular Ihop style stuff. It costs like Ihop in the US. Serving staff was efficient and smiling. In the evening we tried the bar in the Mezzanine floor, however the waitress warned us that it will take 45 minutes to be served, so we looked for other options. Ms. Mallory (front desk) recommended us a nearby "3 Brasseurs" at the corner of Crescent Street, which became our favorite eating place. We liked the young style restaurant and found there exactly what we were looking for (piquante light dishes). By walking the 300 meters (1000 feet) from the hotel, we also discovered the vibrant Saint Catherine Street with all the known stores and hundreds of people walking there (almost as busy as in Time Square). Montreal is known for underground shopping malls, so we asked the person that was standing near the entrance door. Maybe he was a concierge. He gave us clear instructions. We found Eaton Centre shopping mall very close along the same St Catherine Street. If you are looking a nice place to walk in nature, and you are not scarred of a hilly trail, the hotel was 1000 meters from the footsteps pf Mont Royal Park. Although it was a rainy morning, I decided to jog over there, instead of trying the exercise room. We left Montreal wanting to visit again. If we will come here again, for sure this BW is our choice.

Hotel is convenient to many restaurants, hop-off hop-on bus route, Metro and shopping including underground. We had a large room on the 6th floor (top floor of hotel). The king bed was very comfortable. The couch was a sofa bed so a little hard to sit on. Large TV and many channels. Breakfast is not included but there is a very popular breakfast restaurant adjacent to the hotel as well as another restaurant on mezzanine which was OK for a quick meal or cocktails. Very helpful and welcoming front desk and bell staff. Coffee available in room.

First time visitors to Montreal who were overwhelmed with where to stay and we are glad we stayed here. Reasonable price, friendly staff, and very clean! We had 2 Queens,the room is a tad small and on the dark side due to a small window however the beds were VERY comfortable and that's all we really cared about. Not to mention, nice big bathroom which also was very clean. Fantastic location close to everything including the metro. If you're really feeling up to it you can stumble back from Old Montreal which is about a 35 min walk!

Nice hotel, quick check in and checkout, friendly staff (especially the person at the front desk early morning (~6am), I do not remember his name but he was really nice/friendly !!!). Great location, quiet, and good wifi. I appreciated the (daily) water bottles and small fridge. Only drawback: My room was quite small.

I travel to montreal 2-3 times a year & a couple years ago i decided to give this hotel a try after a bad experience elsewhere. Right from the start the front desk staff treated me so well. One time we arrived & the rain was pouring outside. Once they heard we were going shopping on st cathernies street the young lady came out from behind the desk to offer us an umbrella to use for duration of the stay. Last trip there the airlines got me into montreal way earlier than i had planed. I went to the hotel knowing they would hold my luggage until check in time but of course front desk attendant did one better they got me into a ready room with no extra charge even though i was way early. Even when i meet staff in the hallways they always say hello & or wishes me a good day. Things like that make you feel welcomed. I soon have an upcoming trip to montreal & i booked my room there again as soon as my flights were confrimed.

The front desk staff very nice. After that downhill. The lobby floor was filthy. The carpet in lounge area not vacuumed. Torn up pieces of paper sat there the entire day. Within view of front desk also the carpets in hallway visibly dirty needing a good vacuum. No water pressure from shower. And no shampoo had to track down so add. The duvet cover was so dirty with very visible black dirt in it. Pretty much did me in. We were so disgusted. I bet they are never ever washed. This hotel was so disappointing. The only saving grace was that it's centrally located. A lot of younger clientele so I guess it's why hotel doesn't care. We've stayed here twice but time to move on.

We are a family of 5. We like The Best Western chain because it is one of the few that can accommodate us. In this case however, it was very poor. The room is SMALL. When the pull out couch is laid out as a bed, you can barely move in the room. Even though they knew we were 5, we only had 3 towels. The room is dark too. Only one small window looking out at another wall - adding to the cramped feel. It was also dirty. The couch/bed felt grimy, the floors weren't properly swept, housekeeping didn't even empty the garbage, which was overflowing. And when I had to pick up a small toy that went under the couch it was very clear that hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Open and half-full beer bottle in the elevator at 10am, etc. All this for a large price tag. And the biggest disappointment is no pool for the kids. It was such a change from the Best Western in Quebec City Centre that we had just left, which was absolutely wonderful and half the price.

e went to this Hotel in August and booked a suite that was supposed to be able to accommodate 5 people. We paid alot of money for this room for this reason. When we arrived the room was so tiny that we had to get housekeeping to remove the coffee table so we could get around the room. This was not a suite size but a normal hotel room in size. There was one window and it looked directly at a brick wall. We asked for another room but they could not accommodate us. Having 5 people in a room (i.e.Suite NOT!) we required more towels and toilet paper. We ran out twice and called for more and they were not delivered in 3-4 hours. We had to send someone to the front desk for our extra items so we could shower! Buyer be ware when you book this hotel. The promises you are made by this hotel is not what you get!

Needed a place for one night in a central location in downtown Montreal. Between us we speak several languages but no French. But the staff here was wonderful and we were made to feel comfortable. The location is really good but walking a block or two to the north will find you in an uncomfortable environment for a just a short spell. Keep walking and you're fine or better yet, head a block in any other direction. Very central location and convenient to many things, including Metro. The hotel also gave us two recommendations for parking our car. Fee was reasonable and easily accessed. Room itself was modern, very clean and comfortable.

Best western on Drummond / st Catherine.great location. Room was clean acceptable. Parking was difficult. 30.00 per night in a shady laneway.front desk staff Sabina ? Was helpful and pleasant she got us under ground parking for 20.00 on the next street.( much better ). The whole city is under construction nightmare to drive.

Located beside the Sheraton, so a good location. The hotel is dated and functional. Rooms were clean with noisy AC. Elevators were slow and really inadequate. Rooms were clean but basic. The breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was particularly good with pleasant staff.

Right in the hub of downtown activity, this Best Western did not disappoint! The rooms were very clean with nicely updated decor and the beds very comfortable. The space was small but there was no need for something larger when Montreal has so much to explore! I would definitely book here again and was grateful to the friendly staff for their help with any of our questions. Having a Cora's right downstairs was a lovely, added bonus for breakfast each morning. Thank you for the great experience!!

To start off, our room has the smallest bathroom of all of the hotels we ever stayed in (bar none). The room was decorated by a minimalist. The floor was uncarpeted. The room was clean and had all of the convenience items.

This hotel is dated in the lobby and in the hallways . Especially the hallways . Our room was renovated and nice . It was clean . The bathroom was so tiny. The bed looked cosy but was just a mattress on a wooden platform and was not very comfortable . The check in was smooth but the staff was not at all friendly . I did however encounter friendlier staff during our stay. It was good value for the money that we paid ..we may or may not stay again . Location was good

The hotel has good clean rooms with lots of space and comfortable beds; the staff is friendly and always ready to help. Location is amazing also! Close to Ste Catherine where everything happens. We'll be back !

Been at this property on more than one occasion and it is a great hotel. Downtown, close to everything. Shopping, restaurants, metro, Gare Central. Perfect place ! Clean hotel, with very friendly staff ! Really is my preferred place to stay in Montreal.

The staff were all great and very friendly and welcoming. My French is very poor and the stay did not make me feel uncomfortable. The room was clean and well maintained with a comfortable bed. The internet was reliable and fast and I could get work done with no breaks in service or slow speeds. The hotel was within walking distance to lots of shopping and there was parking conveniently located right behind the hotel with an alley with easy access,

We have only seen the lobby. The rooms are guaranteed to be ready at 4pm; it is 4:53. We arrived in very early from a cruise and kindly took our luggage to hold. We were told then that they may have the room ready near 1, guaranteed for 4. At 4:15 we were apologized to and offered breakfast vouchers. There are at least three other families waiting tensely, too. I will update as I can.

I stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Europa, 7/20 to 7/25 and I was very satisfied. The location is in the center of downtown with many restaurants, bars, shops, metro stations, etc within a few minutes walk. The room rate was reasonable and the room was very clean. As is the case with all hotels in a downtown area the rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side but I'm sure you can upgrade to a larger room for a higher price. Since I was traveling solo and spent most of my time out of my room the room size was not a factor. The room was quiet and the WiFi was great. The 747 Airport bus stops less than a block away from the hotel which is very convenient if you're using the bus to and from the airport.

We were here for one night. The hotel is a bit dated, but the price reflects that. Visitors should note that the price does not include parking or breakfast. Parking is not run by the hotel. Parking right behind the hotel in a street lot is $30 per night. We had breakfast in the attached Cora, which is one of our favorite breakfast places anyhow. We arrived early, and they stored our bags for us while we walked to Old Montreal. It was only about a 20 minute walk. There's lots to do nearby. When we got back to our hotel, we checked in. The hallway leading to our room smelled heavily of cigarettes. I was worried we had been given a smoking room, but the room was fine. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The AC unit was a little loud, but other than that, everything was great.

fantastic location, close to shops and restaurants, the via rail station and the grayline bus station where most tours leave from. great for a solo traveller, restaurant and breakfast place next door were great, the shop within the hotel was brilliant, owner happy to change all my coins before i left.

This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. It is in a great location. Room is clean and modern. We've stayed in 3 different kind of rooms here: king bed in the business room non smoking (huge room), king bed in small room non smoking & queen bed in small room non smoking. All 3 rooms, clean & comfy bed. All updated. Air conditioning was perfect as well. Only comment about the bathrooms, need more counter space and hooks. Reception Sophia was very pleasant. There is no direct parking at this hotel, but the two locations for parking are very close, next to hotel is $30/day & the one on Stanley Avenue is $21/day both in and out privileges. I would definitely come back to this hotel when we visit again.

This is located just off the main St Catherine street. Close to restaurants and shopping. The room was very comfortable. Bathroom really tiny but very clean. All in all it is a great hotel when you get inside. We were a little worried when we saw it from the outside, specially with the construction on the opposite side. What went wrong, the Fire alarm in the middle of the night which just went on and on. Guests were running out and trying to figure out what was wrong. But no hotel staff came to check in or update the guests. apparently someone was smoking and set the alarm off. But it did disturn quite a bit of our night.

We stayed at this location for two days while we visited Montreal. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect for our needs. Having parking right behind the hotel was an added bonus for us.

Stayed here for a Saturday/ Sunday night in July. Room was clean, beds were very comfy. Breakfast place in hotel was great. Unfortunately check in sucked, we got there at 4pm, room was not ready. We waited for an hour and finally left to go get food. Missed our dinner reservations because we were not able to get ready in time and had to eat somewhere else. There was never an apology or explanation why the room was still not ready at 5pm. I did book a 2 queen suite which was smaller than expected, but as I said before at least clean. Very central to everything. Check in staff not very friendly at all.

This is a good place to stay if you prioritize lower cost and a walkable distance to many of downtown Montreal's attraction. This is a bad place to stay if you want a comfortable and convenient in-room experience. For context, I stayed in a 1-Queen Bedroom with one other person. Pros: close in proximity to downtown attractions, good food at both of the restaurants attached to the hotel, for $20/day you can have unlimited access to indoor parking across the street, the bed was comfortable, the shower was nice. Con 1: Limited space and WASTED space. Sure, space is limited in downtown. The hotel does no favors by inefficiently furnishing the hotel with the space it has. We were unable to set up properly in the bedroom and bathroom. Frustratingly, there was a sizable empty corner of the room that could have fit a dresser or table for extra table space. In the bathroom, there were at least 7 feet of empty wall space that could have been fitted to hang towels and bathroom bags. Instead, there was NOWHERE to hang the hand towel. There was 1 hook behind the door, 1 towel bar on the outside of the door, and 1 towel bar on the inside of the door (which is useless). The counter space was small, but the lack of hanging appliance is lazy on the hotel management's side. Con 2: Location. There are at least 3 exotic massage places surrounding the hotel. Not a big issue and everything seemed contained to those buildings, but some may not consider the location to be family friendly. Con 3: Bugs. There were ants and one 1-inch centipede in our room. Not a big issue, but we had to ensure all our food was sealed or in the refrigerator. Con 4: Ambience. With the room being small and a small feeling, it feels a little like being in a closet. But for the price it's worth it.

Place is in a great location where you can pretty much get to anywhere fast. Lots to do around the hotel as far as bars and places to eat. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are clean and large for a big city hotel. Staff was super friendly and helped with directions, maps and places to go. They don't have parking and you will have to pay for that, but it's something I have gotten used to when staying in a downtown location of a bigger city. The price is excellent and I can't recommend this place enough.

Great hotel for the value! We booked on a last minute kinda thing and compared to other hotels it was very reasonably priced. The rooms were very clean. We got two rooms one with king bed which was very tiny and the other was one king bed and a sofa bed which was very large bright room. The one disadvantage is the AC is not central in a vent kinda system. so the AC makes fairy loud noise. The location of this hotel is really good though you are literally on block from st. Catherine st. There is parking right behind it for 30 bucks and at the end of the st for 21 dollars. There is Cora's the breakfast place and a bar right at the reception level. Overall very nice hotel for the value. As long as you don't have luxury expectations lol!

Stayed from Thurs to Saturday; room met expectations for an Expedia booking. Room amenities included free wifi, flat screen TV, coffee maker, safe, hairdryer and the usual hotel sized bathroom products. Room and bathroom were very spacious and had been updated recently. Room was very clean. The property is in a great location just steps from St Catherine Stree, has a small salon, a comfortable business centre/lounge and has access to a Cora's restaurant next door. Staff, particularly the housekeeping personnel, were very friendly. All staff we encountered were bilingual. There's no parking on site, however we parked at the “Autopark Stanley” (indoor garage) one street over. Rates from Thursday noon until Saturday 11:00am was $36.

We stayed for 3 nights. After the first night we woke up to construction noise (at 7 am). There is a lot of construction outside of the hotel. I realize that the hotel had no control. I just did not have any idea that the construction could start as early as 7 am. The noise was extremely loud as our room faced the construction zone; it honestly felt like an earthquake. Fortunately, the front desk was able to move our room. We actually moved twice in three days. The second room contained 2 queen beds and the room was much larger and had an outside terrace. This room was far from other rooms, much older, in need of updating and isolated. We requested to move again to a newer renovated room with a king bed. I was spoiled with the look/feel of the first room. I apologize to the front desk for the requests to change rooms and grateful that they were able to accommodate our requests. The hotel location was excellent, close to public transportation, restaurants and shopping. The rooms with the king beds were nicely decorated and renovated with a great shower. I reviewed with average sleep quality due to the construction noise, however, prior to the noise I slept very soundly. There is a restaurant connected to the hotel which served a great breakfast. The front desk was helpful, courteous and accommodating. I would definitely consider staying here again. Please thank the front desk!

Location was awesome, near to everything. Also the level of cleanliness was at the highest standard with sheets, covers pillows being very refreshing and clean. Staff was very professional and friendly. They handled the arrival very smoothly. Also the departure moment was impressive as I had to stay all day long in Montreal, keeping the check-out timing in mind at 11:00AA, so the staff enabled me to leave the baggage and the jacket in the safe room, similar to airports, very professional indeed. The bathroom was so small and narrow that I have never ever seen it before. Probably it was just my room, but not impressed at all. Keep in mind if any overweight fellow (let alone obese person) gets in the bathroom, takes a shower like in a shoebox, and the door shuts after you, it does not stay wide open for whatever reason. This should change/improve immediately bring the contractors in and increase the size of the bathroom(s), please Hotel Europa; you could do better!

Hotel was very accessible, walking distance to downtown landmarks, clean, good service, OK continental breakfast. WiFi was not excellent but worked. Room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Definitely recommend.

This hotel is older and the rooms show it. Lack of usb outlets, loud AC units, older bathrooms. It's functional but not distinct in any way. Well maybe the shower which is pretty decent. Window in 536 is small.

Good location, clean room that's all about the Best Western Plus. I've had a small room o 4th floor with small window Lot of noises from street and construction work in front of the hotel. Poor gym . Price not adequate to room standard and hotel facility. Patryk

We stayed as a family of 9 with young kids and an elderly from May 30- Jun 1 and had 4 rooms. That was part of our tour of E Canada. Reception when we checked in was cold, unfriendly and aloof throughout our stay when we interacted with with a few of them , and showed clear preference to deal with other guests closer to their background and race. We ran into a problem with my Amex due to Id theft issue I think occured when I was booking hotels online for this particular tour.. the reception was rude when they called to asked for settlement and when presenting facts and figures on the final settlement they were confused and appeared messed up. Male staff at front desk after taking my other credit card as an alternative, just returned it without a word nor eye contact! That's really ultra rude for my culture and I would think that's the same for any culture! We are not asking for sky high services, just the very basics to be polite and to treat everyone the same regardless of race and background. When we booked this hotel online and payed in advance, there was no information whatsoever on the hotel being near to construction. When we got there, there was one big one just across the road, we had problems getting off the bus, stopping in a position to unload our bags. Reception said nothing and was not apologetic at all and offered nothing at all whatsoever. Noise is obviously a prob! We should have been informed by the hotel way in advance so we can decide if we go ahead with booking. I had an important fax from my office back home. When my staff called the Hotel's reception after faxing through to make sure , she was told that they were busy and will attend to it later, which they didn't. I had to check with the reception after waiting only to be told there was no fax. Female staff who attended to me had a disinterested outlook on it and finally located the fax stashed among other documents and obviously unprocessed. Not sure if BW Plus is a business or a leisure hotel but if it is targeting business travellers, then this definitely isn't the way to handle things like fax documents. I was really shocked! There were some good things though to save some grace: 1. Rooms are of ok size, well appointed and clean 2. Location is good being a short walk to St Catherine. 3. Breakfast service offered at an external hotel was nice and had pleasant services which really put the entire front desk at the hotel to shame. Surely they must have had training on customer service and how to treat all equally regardless of race and background.

This hotel offers excellent value for the money. It is well situated for central downtown touring and also very close to St Catherine street shopping. We even walked to & from Old Montreal for the exercise. The rooms are modest in size incl the bathroom and the window had no view for that price. There could be a better sized closet but again it's a balance of price and location. The pluses are that there is an excellent restaurant/bar on the premises open for lunch/dinner and breakfast is easily accessed next door (still staying inside) at Cora's restaurant. That was very nice to see. If the hotel hasn't listed the latter as an asset, they should. It's an attractive feature for downtown hotels. Staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. An attractively priced and well maintained inner city hotel.

Stayed 1 night here , place was very clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly. Room had a mini fridge which was handy. Bed was very comfortable after staying in a hostel , bathroom was very clean. Also had access to a terrace so had good views of city

We needed a hotel close to the university as my daughter was going for an interview. This hotel was a perfect location for that, just down the street. It's also one of the better priced hotels. The hotel is quite different than most we have stayed in. It does have small hallways and yes the bathroom is tiny but it is very clean. The room looks like it has been recently renovated. The staff were very helpful and friendly from explaining the parking situation to fixing the plugged sink quickly. Speaking of the parking, as someone mentioned the hotel doesn't have its own parking lot but has made arrangements with the parking lot in the back. It is a bit sketchy back there and we were somewhat concerned about leaving our car but really there was no worries. The only negative I would have to say and this is obviously not the hotel's fault is that there is construction directly across the street. Our room faced the street and every morning at 7 am the noise started. If we were staying any longer than the 2 nights we did I would have requested a room on the other side of the building. It looks like this construction site is going to be there a while so I'd suggest requesting a room on the other side for the future. All in all thought, this worked out well for us especially the price

My husband and I travel to Montreal each year for a few nights. We always try to stay at different places to compare. This year we chose to stay at the Best Western Plus - Hotel Europa. When we made the booking, it did indicate that the rooms were small. We just weren't prepared for how small. The bathroom was so tiny that our knees touched the shower door when we sat on the toilet. The room had a couple of feet on each side of the bed and a small chair for sitting. While the rooms might be newly renovated, the rest of the hotel is desperately in need of an update. The hallways are tiny and didn't smell the greatest...might be the carpet that appears to be 15-20 years old. We were first placed in a room on the 6th floor (the top floor of the hotel). It wasn't until we returned for the night that we noticed the loud vibrating and rattling noise in our room (likely inside the ceiling). If you choose to stay at this hotel, request a room on another floor. When we notified the front desk staff, the did move us to another room. Given that you can stay in a much nice hotel in Montreal for only about $20 more per night, I will choose to pay extra and have spacious rooms, amenities such as a pool and hot tub and much better facilities. I would return to this hotel if they lowered the price to about $85/night plus tax. The rooms were clean...can't complain about that.

Very clean, modernized rooms. Downtown and central location. Near some fantastic restaurants, bars and shopping. Staff are attentive and pleasant as well. Service is great, the lobby is clean as are the rooms.

You can't beat the location of this hotel. Less than one block to Rue St. Catherine and really close to the metro too. It's a basic hotel - rooms are fine but nothing special. They are renovating the retail space in the lobby and adding a spabra. There's a nail salon and breakfast restaurant on the first floor too. The restaurant was undergoing renovatoins while we were there so we didn't get to eat there. Staff is super friendly. If you are looking to stay in the heart of downtown Montreal without breaking the bank this hotel is perfect.

The location was super convenient in the fashionable area, middle of downtown Montreal. There were tons of fine restaurants, bars, fast-foods, brand shops surrounding the hotel. The reception was friendly and professional, and I was offered a snack pail, an extra point, and an upgraded room at checking in. The room was clean and good size with a kind bed, and the bed was comfortable. When I called the front desk asking a late check-out, she was nice, and gave me a 2-hour extension for free of charge. It made my stay more enjoyable. The one thing I wish for the room is a better window. There was only one small window at the corner and the bottom half of the window was occupied with a build-in air conditioner. The top half was an opening covered by a sheer curtain. The curtain flapped as the air conditioner ran, which was annoying. The view of the crowded city was not enjoyable, either. But the price was affordable and it was a pleasant stay overall. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and definitely come back.

The room was lovely. Only stayed one night (concert was cancelled and couldn't get a refund on the room). -Parking lot behind the hotel was a tad bit sketchy. -Bar/restaurant service was mediocre. It was not busy and the service was slow (if you could hail down a waitress) -No hot water in the shower on Saturday am (one of the few expectations I have of a hotel room: a hot shower). Location wise is a plus: walkable to the Bell Centre and St. Catherine's street.

Stayed for three nights. Valet parking was always incredibly quick. Be aware that they do charge $25 per night for parking. Breakfast was decent and selection was good. Excellent location to sight see as Mt Royal is two blocks away. Many restaurants and amenities close by.

Hotel booked in August 2017 through the BW Rewards Scheme which advertises 'Guaranteed Best Rates' - they are NOT ! Stayed here at the start and end of my holidays in December & January. First stay was reasonable but nothing special. Addies restaurant was advertising draught beer on special offer but we were told the pumps had broken so it wasn't available and so we were badly ripped off buying two glasses of wine. Rooms are okay but nothing special for a Best Western Plus. Stayed 4 nights and left to explore Canada. The evening before we were due to return in January I had an email from the Hotel saying my credit card had expired and my reservation would not be held unless I gave them a new card by 4pm. The previous booking made at the same time with the same card had not caused any problems and it was not mentioned at either check in or check out. It was too late for me to amend the booking and I had no intention of giving credit card details via a non-secure email so I replied to the Hotel saying I had made a new booking and to continue cancelling my booking. Booking in August 3 nights $642.51 Booking in January, same 3 nights & same room $350.21 Can someone explain how that fits in to the best rate guarantee ? Checked in to the Hotel and saw the same staff as on our previous stay who said they had not cancelled the booking. This resulted in two holds going on the credit card and I insisted that I was staying at the cheaper rate. This lower rate was eventually honoured. Addies was still advertising draught beer on special but, guess what, the pumps were still broken 4 weeks later so it wasn't available. Returned to UK and made complaint. BW Customer Services have done nothing. Complained again to be told that BW Montreal have tried to ring me twice (incorrect) and to contact the Hotel directly if I'm not satisfied. Moral of this story - book a room and then check a couple of days before you arrive because it might be half the price ! Or simply, like me, find another Hotel chain who have a customer services dept that actually does something.

Picked this hotel because being very close to Bell Center (only few minutes away by walk). There are restaurants nearby. Hotel does not have their own parking, I would suggest use the underground secured parking. Clean rooms and very helpful staff. Quick online checking procedure, when approached to the reception got the room keys under 2 minutes during early evening checkin rush.

Great location, close to public transport, stores, and several restaurants. Parking was easy nearby. Staff was quite friendly. However, no breakfast and the hotel would definitely welcome some renovations. In the end, it was ok but there are other options in downtown Montreal, even within the Best Western group, where I'd rather stay in the future.

I booked a "small queen room" and was pleasantly surprised at how not very small it was. It was a decent sized room for my partner and I, who needed a place to stay NYE. The room was clean (although the garbage from the previous guests hadn't been changed). Room temperature was easily changeable. The best part about this hotel for me was the location! As a Montrealer, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be in the heart of the city! The metro (Peel on the green line) is a short walk away (less then 5 mins). Sainte Catherine street is literally seconds away. Would recommend staying here if you're on a budget and want to maximize your time in the city. Staff extremely friendly!!!

This was a major disappointment . Last time we were here it was wonderful and this time the shower was almost bigger than the room! We arrived to have all three staff speaking French to each other about our reservation. No English. When I asked if there was a problem they said no. They said the cc on file had declined which is why we gave them the new one explaining the other had been lost and they sent us a replacement. We went to the tiny room our luggage barely fit in and then went back and asked for a larger room. They said they were full. We are BW diamond members and should have been upgraded but were not. Hotel was full. We didn't check in until 7pm even though I had secured with my cc 6 weeks prior. The mgr rambled and rambled and when I shushed him he was furious and said that I was so offensive . 10 seconds later when the girl there spoke he put his hand in front of her face to quiet her. I said that was way more rude than me putting my finger to my lips to say shhhhh. Then he handed me his card and left. Then the girl piped up that my cc had been originally declined and they didn't even have to honour my reservation. I was dumbfounded. We had been told parking was 25$ but it was $30. We were given no info on breakfast, check out times, and I had to carry 4 suitcases and 3 bags to our room with no offer of help. (My husband had gone to get the car). Needless to say, worst BW stay ever.

Stayed here for a weekend to see a Montreal Canadiens game. 5 minute walk to Bell Centre. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby within walking distance. Hotel staff were pleasant and professional. Room was very small but updated and clean and had everything we needed and the rate was good for the location. Bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. The only negative issues we experience was snow clearing in the parking lot outside our window (and we were up on the 4th floor) at 6:30 am sounded like thunder and someone knocking on our door at 3:30 am looking for someone in another room.

This hotel was super affordable and the other reviews seemed decent so we decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed! The staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was modern and clean, the bed was comfy, and noise was at a minimum so we got a few good nights sleeps! Even better, the attached restaurant Chez Cora is delicious! This hotel is centrally located and we loved the neighborhood! Just 1 block away from great shopping and restaurants, and a very pleasant 15 minute or so walk to Old Montréal. We would definitely stay here again!

Recently I had to be in Montreal due to a family illness. I spent 5 nights at the Best Western Hotel on Drummond Street.And needless to say I was so very pleased with the great treatment I received. The staff and management were so friendly and helpful!. As for the room it was very comfortable, compact but so cosy! The mattress was perfect and I had a great sleep!All the amenities were there. The breakfast restaurant was great, a Chez Cora franchise.Centrally located downtown, this hotel is highly recommended by me.

It's just a place to crash and we experienced several problems. 1. There was no breakfast included in the rates 2. There was no parking included in the rate (additional $30/night) 3. Fire evacuation at night and no discount for inconvenience 4. No thermostat in the room -- it was pretty cold. 5. Cleaning staff very loud late at night (9pm)... why even clean at that time?

I got way more than what I asked for what I paid. Room was really clean including the bed and the shower (we got a lot of towels, shampoos and body soap). We had access to a microwave and a tea/coffee machine in our room. Customer service is quick and perfect so if you need anything go ahead and ask them. I would recommend it a 100% from a couple who wanted to pass a simple trip (my gf got a birthday card designed for her !!!!). Thank you

it is an older hotel but well maintained very nice spacious rooms and clean and comfy , the only downside is the parking is not with the hotel but it is one street over , but it was underground parking so that was a bonus (but there was a 20$ charge for the parking

I Rate this hotel 4 stars. Quality Service. Good price. Very confortable beds. I would come back to any best western and especially this one at downtown Montreal. I suggest this hotel to everyone that is visiting Montreal for a convenable price.

I am in a wheelchair and the adapted room is not completely accessible. Easy design issues could be done to make the room more accessible. Wheelchairs can not access climate controls or refrigerator. Floor level difference going into the bathroom makes it difficult to enter and leave in a wheelchair., There is no hair dryer in the bathroom. Otherwise, room was clean and bed comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location. Did lots of walking around the city. Was close to our conference centre, shopping, old Montreal, restaurants/bars and much more! Would recommend to others for business or pleasure travel. City was a little chilly this time of year but that's to be expected in Canada.

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times and have never had a problem in any area. Cleanliness, pricing and the best staff in Montreal. And location is the definitely the best as it is only 5 minute walk to watch the Canadians, 3 minute walk to the heart of Saint Catherine St. and 10 minute walk to the Eaton centre with 150 stores.

This location is walking distance to shopping on Saint Catherine Street in one direction and the Bell Centre in the other direction. Parking is extra and there are two options, outside parking just down the street and inside parking a on the next block. I'm not sure sure if the inside parking allows pickup trucks. The staff were excellent and our room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location two minute walk to the Bell Centre. The staff were professional and very friendly. The room was clean and well maintained. We did hear a little noise from the street, but keep in mind you are city centre. There is also great shopping within walking distance on Saint Catherine Street I will recommend this property and I will stay there again

This hotel is close to the train station and close to shopping and museums. They have a Cora's with inside access for breakfast. The hotel has a good restaurant though the décor is a little fastfoodish. There are always taxis at the door.

I was so impressed or this hotel it's only three stars but it should be like four stars are so nice right in the downtown in the middle of everything great location very clean very friendly staff great room and very affordable price

Not that I travel a lot but when I have been to Montreal the past 5-6 yrs I have stayed here . On Nov 3 myself and a friend overnight there on our way south .... no problems and had a room booked through our travel agent on the return .... when we checked out we told them that we would be back on Nov 11. Upon arrival back in the country we got a cab to the hotel to check in before the hockey game .... only to find out that our reservation had been cancelled !! The excuse that was given was that the expiry date on file was not correct.... FUNNY HOW A WEEK BEFORE IT WAS OK!!! Upon asking to see manager .... a guy hiding behind the desk told us he cancelled .... he informed us he tried to call the agency( which normally closed on weekends) and cancelled because it was a NHL game night... all they did was offer a room at twice the price .... if it wasn't so close to the time for the game I would have walked away... then he threatened that if we put any comments on any kind of social media he would see us in court !!! I can't remember his name I hope the same thing happens to him someday!!!! He really knew how to make someone feel like a lowlife... The next morning while checking out the clerk helping us .... we asked her and she looked at the history of prior reservation and this was the only one with the different dates ..... all other transactions were from same card and no problems !!! This was my last stay at this hotel !!

This is a great little gem of a spot. It is super-clean, the rooms are nice and modern, the showers have good pressure (big factor me) and a good breakfast place downstairs. Excellent value for the money, I have already gone back once and will stay again.

My friends and I were in Montreal to do some sightseeing and take in a Hockey game. The location was excellent with just a 2 block walk to the Bell Centre. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. The only negative would be the parking. I understand that parking downtown is usually at a premium but the number of homeless people and the parking attendants left us feeling a little wary. The location still was excellent with Cora's restaurant on site and plenty of restaurants and Sports Bars close by.

Great spot close to everything in downtown! No parking but you can find one within 2 blocks at 20$ aprox. This time the Drummond street was close for construction and cranes were right in front of the hotel a bit noisy but nothing crazy. Front desk very friendly! And the room really small but fully renovated and « no carpet » which it was great. And a Cora restaurant just right there at the lobby!! Yes 100% recommended!

Such a convenient location; excellent service; excellent prices! It is consistent with the very positive experiences I have had at the Best Western accommodations across the country. I will certainly book here again, and am already recommending to friends who are heading to Montreal.

This is a nice, reasonably priced hotel in the very center of the downtown area of Montreal. I was surprised to find something at this price in this location. It was also walkable to the old port section of town.

This is a convenient location to downtown, the hop on/hop off, and Notre Dame Basicilica. Although not much from the outside, the interior was clean and fresh with updated furnishings. Our room was large, quiet, and vrey clean. All staff were friendly and helpful. All spoke English well.

I checked out several hotels in the area and for the price for thishotel was good in comparison. Overall good 2 night stay, The staff was nice the rooms were clean the beds were comfortable and the price was good!

I couldn't come come up with something negative to say about this place if i tried. Room to clean? Staff too helpful? Too close to everything and anything? I've stayed here multiple times over the years, and will continue to do so!

This Hotel is right in the middle of downtown Montreal and is within walking distance to all amenities. We drove to Montreal and the parking was reasonable with "in-and-out" privileges, although we didn't need to use the car, it was nice to know the option existed. We chose to eat outside the hotel and found many choices for breakfast within a short distance (5 min. walk) from the hotel. If fact, we there to visit our son at McGill University and we were able to walk to his residence, which was a great bonus. We actually "Ubered" to Old Montreal for dinner and walked back to the hotel. It was about 30 or 40 minutes but it was easy and fun. The rooms were spacious and very clean - NO Carpeting !! love that - the floors were hardwood laminate.

Others have commented on the excellent location, and there's little that one can add to what others have already written. I must admit, however, that I was a little concerned that my room might be a little more low end than I would be comfortable with given the price. I had no reason to be concerned! The owners have done a wonderful job of renovating the hotel and keeping it in excellent shape. The hardwood floor, new furniture, wall art, etc., in my room made for a very comfortable experience. The bathroom is small but ultramodern and well appointed. Unlike some of the more expensive hotels closer to the conference centre, my room had no less than 3 free outlets in the immediate vicinity of the desk. Consider other options if you expect to entertain in your room or hold business meetings there. But if you're simply looking for a well located, wonderfully maintained and thoughtfully renovated property that's also a great value, then look no further.

The bathroom was so small, that when you sat on the toilet your knees were in the shower. What a joke, the woman at the check in counter said it's size of hotels in Europe. Not true, I've stayed at hotels in Europe and never this small.

The best hotel experience I've had in a long time. Hotel is within walking distance of Central Station and everything I wanted to experience. Room was very clean and spacious. I was given a bigger room than I paid for and allowed to check in early.

We booked this hotel for a Anniversary Getaway. The location was absolutely perfect. We could walk to Bell Centre for hockey game, downtown for shopping, dining and people watching. The hotel location was easy to get off and on the highway going into Montreal. Coras downstairs served amazing breakfasts at reasonable prices. Room was extremely clean with very comfortable bedding, bath was good sized with a walkin shower but the room itself was very, very small. My husband banged and cut his knee on furniture trying to get to the bathroom. Other than the size we were very satisfied with the hotel Location is definitely the highpoint.

We stayed here following the end of a New England/Canada cruise. The location was GREAT - downtown near everything. We got to the hotel early morning after disembarking the ship and the hotel staff was very courteous and gladly checked our luggage for the day. They gave us tips about things to do and we enjoyed a full day touring. The rooms are very small, but very updated and clean. Bathrooms are tiny, but again updated. The only complaint are the doors to the hallways are loud and old (you can hear everything in the hallways). But again, great value and the room was nice. Bed was very comfortable.

Hotel is centrally located in downtown and a short walk to pick-up hop-on hop-off. Room was spacious and comfortable and quite clean. The area around the hotel is a little seedy (i.e. massage parlor nearby), but it looks like it is being renovated.

The hotel was very close to the Bell Centre and had everything you need. Only thing we didn't like was our room was small and only had a shower (no tub), but the shower was new and very nice. Did include coffee machine and bar fridge.

Right in downtown Montreal, three blocks from Bell Center and other must see sights. Great restaurants and atmosphere. Available parking behind hotel. Hallways could use sprucing up, but rooms and lobby excellent.

This hotel was typical of Best Western Hotels that I've stayed in over the years. The entrance is a half storey above the reception area. There is however an elevator and often a doorman. There are 5 storeys with hotel rooms. My room had been modernized. The bathroom was extremely compact but functional -- not much counter space or ledge space in the tub. In the morning, I had to run the water for quite a while to get it hot enough for a shower. The closet contained an ironing board and iron and about 3 feet of hanging space as well as a safe. The hangers could not be removed from the closet so I could not hang my dripping wet raincoat in the bathtub as I would have liked. The windows do not open. The heating/air conditioning unit was a bit on the noisy side but that did mask the street noise. There is a fire station in the same block and I could hear the sirens. There is a Cora's Breakfast and Lunch at the lobby level and Addie's Restaurant and Bar on the mezzanine. These appeared to be operated independently of the hotel. There is also a reasonable gift shop. The room is not carpeted. The bed was comfortable. The internet worked consistently well. My room was missing it's full length mirror. There was a clock radio alarm which had not been set to the correct time when I arrived in my room. It was never corrected by the housekeeping staff. It was not at all obvious how to set the time or use the radio. There was a good work desk with a proper chair and decent lighting.

This place is located well. St. Catherine Blvd. is one block away. The visitor's center is a quick three blocks. City tours generate from there. Fine restaurants are within walking distance (Reuben's for smoked meat sandwiches) The Underground is easily accessed, and McGill University and museums are blocks away. Now for the hotel. Our room, 507, was very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The housekeeping staff did clean late in the afternoons sometimes, but we had a 'do not disturb' sign on the door in the morning until 11. I am turned off by plastic cups and paper cups for the in room coffee machines. Why can't Best Westen provide glass instead of eco unfriendly waste? There is a restaurant located on site, so there is not a complimentary breakfast. There is a bar located on site, but it is not affiliated with BW. We asked to borrow two wine glasses, but that was not 'allowed'. There is a bell man who sometimes is at the front door, but he is only allowed to take your luggage from the curb down three steps or elevator to the lobby, he can't take your things to the room. (!?) Parking is on the next block in a garage. It cost us $71 for four nights, with no in and out privileges. (Luckily we didn't need a car in the city) Huge construction site across the street was very noisy during the week, make sure you request a quiet room away from Drummond Street. We paid a premium price for this room, but I don't see why it should be called a Plus. Weigh your options before booking this hotel.

I am in Montreal and, for several unavoidable reasons, it has been a difficult time for me. Much pressure was relieved due to help from THREE extraordinary service workers: 1. The front desk clerk at Best Western Plus, 1240 Drummond St. His name is Jessie. I arrived there after a long train trip from TO, had about an hour to get to an important appointment, only to find I didn't have a room because the online booking service booked it for the incorrect week. And no rooms were available in other nearby hotels he called. I was in a pre meltdown state of mind. Jesse literally organized me - GENTLY calmed me down, found me a room when a room couldn't be found in Mtrl, helped me to focus on getting to my apptmt, gathered my suitcase, bags etc, and led me outside where he found person #2 to get me back on track. This hotel is well located downtown Mtl. But It was really noisy in my first room on the second floor facing the street. There is major construction in front (Which I suspect will go on for a while), and noisy at night too... They gladly changed my room for one facing the interior court. Rooms are small. But bed are comfortable. A little expensive for what you get.

I have stayed many times at this hotel in Montreal. The location is fabulous, the rooms are small but very clean. Do wish they would not have paper cups for coffee. Problem with no one answering incoming phone calls at reception should be easy to fix. This never happened on previous stays.

We really enjoyed everything about this hotel except the terrible shower, pathetic pressure and wandering between scalding hot and frozen cold. Our room was a good size for a city centre, beds were extremely comfortable and staff were great. The location was extremely covenient for Downtown. However, the highlight was the attached breakfast restaurant which provided quite simply the most comprehensive and imaginative breakfast choice. Highly recommended on only that pesky shower stops a five star review.

Stayed at the Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown – Hotel Europa from the 15th – 18th September 2017, with my partner. We had travelled up from Toronto for a weekend break on the train and arrived at Grand Central Station approximately at 4.30-5pm after a five-hour train journey. It only a 10-15-minute walk from Grand Central to this hotel on Rue Drummond and it's very easy to find. Walked into the hotel to reception to be met by a very helpful lady, who booked us into the hotel with the minimum of fuss and we went up to our room fifth floor. First impressions of the room was that it was small (and at the back of the hotel, overlooking a car park so the view wasn't great ), but I have to say it was perfect for what we wanted, it was well equipped, with a large flat screen TV, (with a reasonable selection of TV programmes in English and French, both Canadian and US) fridge, tea/coffee machine, (tea & coffee, cups, but curiously no spoons or milk), The bathroom was good, with a very good walk in shower with lots of fresh white towels (which were changed daily), shampoos etc., iron and ironing board and a hairdryer. The room also had air conditioning, and although the fan was a bit noisy it was actually very good. The room did have Wi-Fi but never used it so can't comment. The window was very small and the view wasn't great, but on the upside the hotel is right in the middle of downtown Montreal. So, we had a shower and went out. The following day wasn't sure what we were doing for breakfast, but I had a word with the receptionist and she said that breakfast available within the hotel building itself (it's just off the main reception area) although the company (Chez Cora) wasn't anything to do with the hotel itself. So, we had breakfast at Chez Cora and it was lovely, and very popular, most days there was queue at the desk. (and one thing to note they have an early bird menu so It's cheaper before 8am) So, all in all a very nice weekend in Montreal, the hotel is centrally located with lots of bars and restaurants in and around the area, Chinatown is 30-40 minute's walk away, and there lots to see and do there. The room was on the small side but enough for a weekend stay, the one downside on the Sunday/Monday morning the bin men (Garbage collectors) decided to empty the bins a 4am in the morning, and they were very noisy! (but far as I can see that was the only downside). Things to see and do, the hop on hop off bus ride located just off Dorchester Square (London buses included) was good if you want to see a lot in a short time, Chinatown was great (had a very good Chinese meal at La Maison VIP on Rue Clark) and there's a very nice Irish bar Le Vieux Dublin Pub and Restaurant at Rue Cathcart. I would recommend this hotel.

The BW was good and clean but the room we got was extremely small. Maybe good for one person but it was not acceptable for a couple. We would probably try another place next year. There are many other option around the Bell Center. It was nice having a Cora (breakfast restaurant) in the lobby. The bathroom we had did not have a active fan and with the small room this became a problem.

The hotel was not up to the usual standard I expect from a Best Western. The lobby and halls are dark and dated and the rooms are not very attractive. The bed was adequately comfortable. No in hotel breakfast included.

Pleasant affordable, great location in downtown Montreal. Walking distance to many pubs, restaurants and the Metro. Chez Cora fantastic breakfast plce attached to the hotel, superb quality restaurants like Hurley's, Dundee's and Leentrecote St. jean and others minutes from the hotel. Great Montreal Museum of Art a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Orange and Green Metro lines right nearby for a good trip to the Old City.

Clean room. Comfortable. Not very large. Good for solo or a couple. Good price value and good location. Cora restaurant just below. Shopping is easy as Ste-Catherine street is just beside. Walking distance from Bell Center

The hotel was very well located, easy access to the subway station Peel. Nice lobby, great room, doesn't have complimentary breakfast but there is a nice breakfast place attached to it, as well as a restaurant. Room was nice and clean. Air conditioning was noisy, had to turn off during the night to be able to sleep. But overall a good experience!

I stayed here for two nights while travelling for business. My colleague and I were looking for lodgings on short notice and found this property on the BW web site advertising rooms for a reasonable rate. The property is older but has been upgraded in the recent past. The elevators are small as are the hallways, but the rooms are a good size with plenty of room. The staff are friendly though I had to wait a while as they only had a couple of people to man the front desk and I came in during a rush. However all other interactions were quick and prompt, and with a smile. The property includes a nice pub area as well as quick access to a nice bistro for a good breakfast (though service was a bit slow, but that is the bistro, not the hotel). Location is great--just a few blocks from everything you might want to have access to. The only complaint might be the fact I could hear the water running in the next room when the occupant took a shower, but I just closed my bathroom door and that muted the noise--certainly not enough to wake me up. For the rate I think this was a good value for a hotel in the heart of the city.

When you arrive, park at the front of hotel; valet parking the only realistic option - 25 dollars per day. Very efficient service when you request your car; we phoned from our room and by the time we got to reception, the car was waiting for us. Room very spacious and clean - would have liked bathroom floor cleaned each day. Very quiet room (back of the hotel, overlooking small park). 10 minutes walk from the heart of entertainment and 15 min walk to Montreal Vieux - nicely redeveloped old port on the St Lawrence river. Lots of bars and restaurants - good street entertainers.

Not as good as it appears on line. Getting run down. Construction across the street starts at 7:00. They aren't repairing anything, they just shut it down. There was a broken board on our terrace (they are only on the suits) instead of fixing it they screwed the door shut.

Stayed at Best Western/Europe in Montreal. I had a single double bed that took up most of the room. As small as the room was, the bathroom was even smaller with hardly any counter space to place your things. I told the hotel receptionist that I had to find a convenience store to buy water because I had a kidney stone disease and asked her if there was any place close to buy water. She shrugged her shoulder and said she didn't know and asked me if I would swap my points instead for a couple of 500ml little bottles of water, so I figured there must not be anyplace close to get any and took her offer. When I was through I turned around and there was a conveniece store right in the lobby behind me! When I asked her why she deceived me, she told me it wasn't her job to inform me of where there are convenience stores - WOW! I wanted to tell her it surely isn't her job to deceive either!
