    « Great hotel »

Once again this is a great hotel! Coras restaurant downstairs room was clean and great service. There was a fire alarm at midnight one night and had to evacuate for an hour but all was fine! My wife talked to front desk about the situation upon check out and that out fridge was not very cold and were given half off, which was more than generous. Will definitely stay again when in Montreal!

« Great location. No frills hotel »

This is a no frills hotel in a great location. The rooms are slightly small and typical looking. Very clean. The best part is the hotel is located 15 Min walk from the VIA Rail station, 5 min walk to the Metro, Bell Centre, Art Gallery and shopping district on St Catherine street. Very friendly and helpful front Desk. I would stay here again.

« Great location and price »

We were in Montreal to see a Habs game and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. It's conveniently located in the middle of the city centre only 5 minutes from the Bell Centre. Express bus from the airport stops 2 mins down the street. Front desk staff are friendly, check in and out were quick and efficient. Rooms are somewhat small but are modern and clean. Highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here next time in the area.

    « Should be rated #1!! »

We were in Montreal Nov. 9-13 to see Amy Schumer (who ended up POSTPONING her gig, URGH) but WOW.....WHAT a great little hotel! Absolutely perfect location, very nice staff, clean rooms, what more can you ask for! Sure, everyone complains about it being on a one way street and near construction but don't fault the hotel for that!!! The only issue I had was the lack of space in the bathroom to put toiletries....pedestal sinks should be a no-no in hotels! I will totally stay here again if I have the chance to return to Montreal and would strongly recommend it as "the place to stay"!!

    « Good budget hotel »

My stay was to attend a conference at the Palais des Congres de Montreal. Since I was travelling alone I chose to stay off the shopping street St. Catherines, which is always busy with people out on the streets. This gives me a feeling of safety when going out for dinner or returning later in the evening. The metro was very close and taking 2 trains to the conference was fast and easy. The price for the hotel was very good, the room was not large but adequate for one person and very clean. There is an attached Cora's for breakfast or down the street is Rubans (very reasonable price). 747 bus to the airport is about 1 1/2 blocks away or taxi to the airport is $40.00 flat rate.

« Quiet Location, good restaurant »

I had the pleasure of staying here for 8 nights starting on September 25. The location is ideal if you're going to a hockey game, shopping, concerts or in my case working downtown. The room was spacious with hardwood floors. I was worried about hearing the people above me with the hardwood floors but I heard nothing the whole time I was there. One night I could hear people in the hallway coming back from the Adele concert but the noise was short-lived. The room had 2 queen beds, a large flat-panel TV with a lot better stations that I got at another major hotel downtown! The bathroom is small but was immaculate with a good shower. There isn't much space to put things in the bathroom. One small shelf above the toilet and that was all. The bed was very comfortable. One thing to be aware of is that the rooms do not have a view...anywhere in the building. My room overlooked the roof of another part of the building. It was what I called a "partial sky view". You don't go here for a view of the city...that's for sure! There seemed to be some construction across the street but I didn't hear any noise from it. The staff here was very nice and helpful. Check-in was seamless and quck. I ate in their restaurant, Addies, several times. The food was quite good but the menu was fairly limited. The bartenders were attentive and quick with your drinks. There was another woman that was working there that seemed to be the manager who was very aloof, never gave me the time of day. But, as long as the bartenders brought me my drink & food in a decent amount of time I didn't care. Overall this hotel/restaurant was a nice surprise. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. It was farther away than I wanted to be for work purposes but the city was packed with conventions, hockey & Adele. There wasn't much choice. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would! Thank you BW.

    « Location, Location »

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus- its a perfect location on the corner of Drummond and St. Catherine's street- everything is within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and check in and out were a breeze. My only complaint is that our room was very fragrant- like too much men's cologne. Also our room had a horrible view- well no view really about a 5 foot gap then another wall. We didn't complain as we weren't in Montreal for the hotel room! Parking was located in the back ally for about $40 per nightOverall good value for the money and a great location for anything you'd want to do Downtown Montreal!

    « Good Location »

Great Location to Bell Centre. Was in Montreal for concert at the Bell Centre and arrived in city through VIA rail. 15 Min walk from VIA Rail, 5 min walk to Bell. Right near shopping on St Catherine's.

« Random Phone Call at 4am Ruined My Stay »

I essentially flew in at 3pm to attend a 4:30 meeting, go to a business dinner, attend a 7:30am breakfast meeting and then fly out at 11am. When I arrived the room looked clean and simple. However, the closer I looked it was very much like being in a college dorm room, perhaps just a tad larger. But hey, I'm there for about 15 hours and just need a place to sleep so I won't be picky right? Problem was that after some great meetings, dinner and a late night I received a random phone call to my room at 4am and by the time I figured of where the phone was (having been in a very deep sleep) there was nobody on the line. Unfortunately it was just enough that I messed up my sleep and I had trouble falling back to sleep. When it was time for my breakfast meeting I was exhausted. I tried to ask at the front desk what happened but it was chaotic and the person didn't understand how I could have received a call in the middle of the night, so I decided to let it go and just share it here instead. To make matters worse, this basic room that proved not to be a good experience was almost $300 because every hotel in the city was booked and the rates elsewhere were truly insane. Next time I'll book early and go to the W.

« convenient location, quiet rooms, friendly staff »

Nice rooms, good location to explore the city. Shopping and dining is very close. I felt very safe as a solo traveler. Also lots of metro stations and bus stops nearby. Bus 747 from/to Montreal airport worked perfectly for me.

« convenient location, quiet comfort »

This hotel is located in the heart of Montreal's downtown on a fairly quiet side-street. For fit people without heavy luggage it is in walking distance of the city's central train station. An added convenience is the fact that there are 2 restaurants in the building. We stayed in this hotel twice and found our room neat and quiet. The last time we stayed here we were in room 528 which was spacious, clean and quiet, but it had no view. There is a parking lot behind the hotel. The hotel is a bit pricey but one has to pay for luxury and convenience

    3
    « Definitely "Europa" »

We have stayed in Europe and this location is consistent with that experience. The location of this hotel is surrounded by some seedy activity and this is certainly not a BW "Plus" establishment. Having said that, we would stay here again with different expectations and rate.

    4
« Room Small But Close To Everything Downtown »

Rooms were a bit small but clean. Staff was VERY friendly and offered excellent info when asked questions we had about the city. Great location as it's close to everything downtown, the Bell Centre (GO HABS), shopping and very close to airport bus route.

    4
« Everything excellence but parking »

The out sourced public parking arranged by hotel at behind is not cool. The parking lot booth staff asked us not going out at night since they are all double parked and very difficult to move the car. Also, there is construction right at the front entrance. Dusty and bumpy. It wasn't a best family travel experience with kid and elder . Beside those, the location is good .

    2
    « Pass on by »

AAA made reservations, disappointed. Entire city is under construction, roads are a mess with detours, although drivers were usually non-aggressive. Hotel on one way street, unloading luggage was a chore. No luggage carriers available for 20 minutes while I stayed outside with luggage so husband could go around block to park car for$30 per day. Fee was disclosed but inconvient. Took car out once and each parking attendant kept telling us we had to pay each time. Make sure you get parking pass from hotel and put on dash.Take lift from street level with luggage down, check in, take another lift to go to rooms. Cora restaurant expensive, but Addias on second floor was good and staff friendly. Hotel as old imitation wood floors were cupping. Beds were on platforms and both husband snd I kept hitting our knees until we moved furniture around and out e tea pillows on the corners of bed. Package store close as was shopping. Enjoyed trip, would stay elsewhere

    4
« Nice hotel within walking distance of historic area »

Our room had hardwood floors which was nice (hotel carpet can sometimes be rather disgusting). Room was rather a quirky layout with a post in the middle even, but was quite spacious. It was nice to have two queen beds instead of two doubles. Breakfast is not included. Free luggage storage in a locked room was a bonus as we had an evening flight out of town.

    3
« Good Value, Convenient Location »

Pros: Conveniently located one block from a lot of action on Saint Catherine street. Good size rooms that were clean. Cons: Bathroom was dated. No onsite parking (needed to use a garage a block away). Overall not a bad stay and good value for the money. I would recommend and stay here again.

    4
    « Handy! »

We stayed three nights in Montreal at this BW hotel. Room was bright and nicely furnished. The bathroom was small, with only one person able to fit into it at a time. Also, the shower head water pressure was just a trickle making showering a bit of a chore. Windows do not open so the air conditioner fan was the only source of air circulation. However, I find that the noise it produces makes sleep a little more difficult. Front desk offered umbrellas for the day, while it was absolutely pouring. Front desk friendly.

    4
    « Nice stay »

Just finished a weekend getaway to Montreal. Stayed at the Best Western on Drummond. We arrived very early and took a chance to see if we could check in early. We were greeted by a very friendly bilingual front desk staff. She was able to check us in and also upgraded our room. Room itself was large and spacious. King bed was comfortable. Washroom was a bit small but manageable. Location of hotel is excellent! Just off St. Catherine's and close to shopping and great places to eat! Recommend Reuben's for their smoked meat and Au Pain Dore on Peel Street for their almond croissants.

    « Go elsewhere! »

The PLUS + location, location, location + Boutique style lobby The MINUSES - The hallway was bit dirty and, smelled a bit musty. - I found several strands of someone else's hair in the bed and in the bath tub. - The bathroom caddy was rusted beyond belief. - I could not find a single socket to plug my phone into near my bed. UNLESS I unplugged the nightlight. -The bathroom was very small and crampy. - I made coffee the 1st morning with the coffee pouch. The next morning I went to make coffee only to realize the coffee pouch from the morning before was still in the coffee maker. -The counter in the bathroom was not properly secured to the wall and therefore could not put anything on it otherwise it would have fallen down. - Given the price point of this hotel, they could have at least provided a pair of those cheap disposable slippers and shower cap in the room. - When i was checking out I told the receptionist that i needed to change my payment method. She directed me to the other counter with a bit of annoyance in her voice. As i was finalizing my transactions with the 2nd receptionist, I overheard the 1st receptionist asking another guest about his stay. Needless to say neither one of them asked me about my stay. I guess they could care less about my experience! Having said that, for the price of $ 214.00CAD/night this hotel is simply not worth it!! I would have been better off to stay in a BnB for less.

« Least expensive, very nice! »

We took the Amtrak train from NY to Montreal & needed a hotel within reasonable distance from the Amtrak station. Most hotels were in the $250-$300 range. We found this gem of a hotel that was $100 less than the others. Nice accommodations & very clean.

    « Great Location - Clean, Comfortable »

Excellent location in Montreal. Very close to the Bell Centre and Concordia and McGill Universities. Room was pretty large and complimentary toiletries were high quality. Staff friendly and helpful. No parking on-site was an issue

    4
    « Construction Site »

Great suite-had a balcony and we had wonderful weather so enjoyed the outside area. There is construction going on so you can not park (even temporarily)outside the hotel...really challenging to register. The parking lot is before the hotel on a one way street-so make sure you park first. Lugging our luggage to the hotel was not pleasant-but the staff were very nice. Great location for shopping and the Bell Centre.

« In the heart of downtown »

Not the fanciest hotel downtown, But i bet the most helpful !! We ended up staying for two nights due to the Hurricane going through Miami !! Small rooms, but very clean !! I would stay there again in a heartbeat :)

    « Executive Management...Open your eyes! »

I was excited to visit Montreal for the first time however our stay at Best Western Europa was a disappointment. The staff was less than accommodating and very cold and unfriendly. We rented the one and only suite which included a kitchenette fully equipped with a dishwasher but no soap to wash the dishes and not enough dishes for us to use. When I asked for soap to wash the dishes I was told there was none (no dishwasher soap in the entire hotel? The staff made us feel like we were inconveniencing them anytime we asked for something...which wasn't often. When I requested more dishes to use I was delivered plastic forks and 3 Styrofoam plates. The stove didn't work and the pullout hide-abed didn't have proper bedding, sheets or pillowcases (cases for pillows were given to us on day three). One day, housekeeping completely forgot to clean our room. On the third day of our 4-night stay, we woke up to a loud horn blowing starting at 6am til 10am because apparently staff at the hotel were protesting to Management about working conditions. Well now the very poor customer service all made sense, Alas there is more! The hotel does not offer parking (even thought the lot in the back of the hotel says "Hotel Parking" it cost 30$ a day and offered in and out privileges, but on the 3rd day, our vehicle was boxed in. three rows of cars blocked us in, When I asked to have the vehicles moved so that my kids and I may go to the museum; I was confronted with a bad attitude and given fault for inconveniencing the lot attendants for having to move the parked cars all around us. When I defended myself for paying for a service (30$ a day) that permitted in and out privileges, I was immediately asked to leave and never park in the lot again (was offered a full refund which never transpired). How was this my fault? I even encountered a housekeeping maid who when I asked if there was a service elevator to the suite which was on the 5th floor and was only accessible by stairs; my father who is a stroke patient needed disability accessible to the suite to visit us found it hard to access. The maid said...I don't speak English...in English. One day later I was in the elevator and the very same maid stopped our elevator going down and asked me...in English..."Excuse me, is this elevator going down?" Seriously??? I thought she didn't speak English? You staff lack basic customer service skills and don't seem to care at all about the guests that stay in your hotel. This tarnished my impression of Montreal thinking that people in this city are uninviting and are arrogant. Therefore, my rating for this hotel is 2/10

    4
    « Very nice! »

Very pleased with the BW "Plus" brands so far...and this was no exception. Although we arrived before check-in time, we were given our keys by friendly staff. The room was large and the bath had the largest shower I've ever seen in a hotel! No view, but not a big deal. Very close to great shopping and restaurants, and the subway is within walking distance. Taxi stand just outside of hotel door. Oh and we had the best burger and fries EVER on St. Catherine's street at Mister Steer. Great stay!

    3
« Little overpriced for quality. »

Stayed here for a longer business stay. Hotel is reasonable, but not more. On the website it was listed to have data ports in rooms, but there was only Wi-Fi (good speed though). Rooms reasonable clean, but not super. Breakfast not included, only available in adjacent Cora breakfast restaurant. Rooms are on the small side, fridge and desk available, sufficient facilities, like coffee maker are in room available. Parking is not on-site and is quite expensive (CAD24 per 24hrs)

    4
« A friendly, convenient stay in the heart of the city »

The Best Western Plus - Hotel Europa is located conveniently in downtown Montreal within walking distance to the "old city", to St. Catherine's St. shopping district, and to a number of good restaurants. There is even a good breakfast restaurant, with good variety, attached to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful in making sure we enjoyed our mini vacation.

    4
    « montreal visit »

The location was excellent, the staff was very good and friendly.Disappointed that there was no free breakfast.I know parking is a problem in downtown Montreal but the Hotel should have someone walk you to the parking lot as there was many people homeless around the lot especially at night andthey really need lights in the lane ways to the parking lots

    4
    « Great location »

This is an older hotel that has been renovated. It is very clean and was quiet. There is a Chez Cora restaurant on site as well as a bar/restaurant called Addie's. There is also a small convenience/gift shop and a hair salon. The wifi is free and worked well. The bathroom is small - not a lot of places to set your stuff. The elevators are also small but they are very quiet and reliable. The Bell Center is about 2 blocks away and Crescent street is 2 blocks away with many bars and restaurants. There is a Metro stop nearby, and you can buy a 3 day pass for $18 CDN. St. Catherine street is a block away with lots of great stores. Also the underground shopping is great.

« Best value in the heart of downtown »

Great hotel right in the heart of downtown Montreal. Can't get any closer to the action. Very nice staff and the room, while small (for standard) was very clean and convenient. Full renovated recently and everything is convenient. Quiet (did not hear anything from neighbours. Bathroom contained a large shower but otherwise small. No safe and they should provide a couple of water bottles in the fridge (for what they cost when bought in bulk). Although I am a Diamond cardholder, I was not given any upgrade. They said they were full, but the floor didn't seems that busy. Otherwise, it's a nice hotel (I would rate at a 3.5 star) and will return why in Montreal again. No parking, but park on Stanley in Autopark Stanley where you can leave the car for 24hrs for $17.75. It's a covered multi level lot. Breakfast at Chez Cora is great and while connect to hotel lobby, it's independent so they don't charge crazy hotel prices. Bacon and egg and pancakes will cost $7 if you grab the early bird special before 8.

    4
« great location just off St Catherine St »

the rooms very a good size clean...parking was an issue but then again you in the heart of Montreal......the only other problem is that there are not enough staff at the front counter either check in or when you check out..that should be improved..but apart from that it is your standard Best Western good value for money

    1
    « Terrible Room »

The room was cramped and tiny with only an uncomfortable double bed. For the amount of money, $259, I expected better quality! You could hardly move around in the room. The lobby and the nearby restaurants were good, but there is no breakfast service at this hotel. The airport shuttle service they advertised was public transportation several blocks away. I am a BW Diamond Member and this is the worst value I have ever experienced.

    5
« Central, clean ... priced right and perfect for Monteal »

Took train from Toronto to Montreal. Less then 10 min easy walk to hotel. The hotel seems like it was recently renovated. Smallish rooms but that's typical for big cities. Clean rooms. Laminate floors which are easy to clean, better then carpet. Staff are accommodating. There is a Coras attached for breakfast but Tims and McDonalds are less then 5 min away for less expensive or quicker options. I highly recommend this hotel in Montreal.

    4
    « Our Usual »

We have stayed at this hotel twice now. We have decided that we will stay here every time we stay in Montreal. The location is two blocks from shopping on St. Catherine and close to lots of restaurants and pubs. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has two restaurants on site.

    4
« will definitely be my "stay" place when visiting Montreal »

I just had my second visit to Montreal and staying at the Europa. The location is excellent, the staff great. During this visit our room was next to the exit door to the stairs. Early in the morning it was impossible to sleep as the door opened and shut so many times. We thought about asking to change rooms but as neither of us are complainers we decided to stay put. This will be indicated in my "sleep quality" rating; however, anyone reading this will read that it didn't happen during my last visit. I would have given it excellent last time. When I return to Montreal again, I'll definitely stay here!!

    3
    « Great Location »

Booked this hotel as part of a last minute weekend getaway to Montreal. The price was great, room was clean with lots of fresh linen each day. On the last day before we checked out we did find some ants on the floor. We made the front desk aware and they offered us a discount on the room to compensate for the ants. Aside from this the overall experience was great. The location was A-1. Close to everything! I would give it another shot!

    4
    « Nice Hotel »

I Highly recommend this hotel. I will definitely come back if I come to Montreal again. The staff is also really kind, introduced us what to do were to go and how to get there. Although the official language in Montreal is French but we did not have any problem communicating with the hotel staff as all speak English.

    5
« Wonderful stay in Montreal »

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights! Very quiet, clean and wonderful location. 1 block from Bell Centre. 1/2 block from St Catherine's Street and very close to 3 Metro stops. Ideal location! We will definitely stay again!

    5
« Great place to stay »

Location is amazing. Every way you turn there was a spot to enjoy. Bell Centre, shopping on St. Catherine Street, great places to eat and great tattoo parlour! Rooms were cozy and clean. Staff kind and helpful. ??

« Avoid like the plague »

I was forced to stay. Here for one night because I extended my stay and all my normal favorites were sold out. They say this hotel is a 3 star, but 2 star is more like it. They had the nerve to try to charge $450 for a crappy room (673) that I had to take a staircase to get to. Aside from the sheer depressing nature of the room, I found a bug on the shower curtain, and it turned out the room sat on top of the elevator shaft and it made clanking noises all night. There is no parking although they have an arrangement with an outdoor lot down the street. The only small good thing I would say is that when I complained about the elevator noise upon checking out, they discounted my rate by 50%, but really I still feel I overpaid for such a terrible room. Bottom line, only stay here if you are desperate.

    3
« Too bad about the manager »

Travelled with friends to see Adele. The hotel is in a perfect central location. Was happy with the staff and room was fine but the manager Savuth was so arrogant and rude!! Not sure why someone with this personality is in the business of serving the public. Too bad. Otherwise I would stay here again because of the location.

    5
    « Lovely Hotel »

We spent four nights in this hotel and were pleasantly surprised. The room was large and comfortable, very clean and well kept and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room does not have carpeting but, instead, had laminate which gave the room an even cleaner feel. The king bed was very comfortable. We liked the fact that the room had a programmable safe. It also came with the standard coffee maker, microwave and fridge. All were equally convenient and much appreciated. The hotel is located in a good area, just below Rue St. Catherine which is a vibrant place with excellent shopping, cafes and restaurants and is a five minute walk from the Bell Center. If we had to offer any negatives it would be the fact there is no recycling bin in the room and that the cleaning staff (who, by the way, do an excellent job) start early in the day. So, if you are not an early riser, make sure you have the do not disturb sign on your door. I would readily recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Montreal.

    5
    « Very good. »

Good location, very comfortable hotel. Perfect bed . Very nice staff, perfect service. The breakfast place located in the hotel serves the most complete delicious breakfast. Very convenient for the hotel guests . Good value for your money. Will go back.

    « Had a wonderful stay »

We stayed here for 7 days. The manager and staff went out of their way to accommodate us with our room as well as helping us out finding our way the first time in Montreal. The room was not large but very clean. We had a large deck that we shared with one other room and we spent most evenings on it. The location was close to the metro and to literally dozens of restaurants. Getting around was very easy. Would recommend this hotel based on the service of the staff alone.

« Worst Montreal Hotel Ever »

We booked this on Aeroplan Points for 4 nights so may have got the worst room. But is was the worst room we have ever had at Best Western or in Montreal. It was small and dingy, one tiny window looking out at a wall. The clock and fridge did not work or the air control (fridge was fixed on complaint by replugging to a working wall plug). Cleaning was poor, dirt on corridor outside door was there the whole time. Last day saw no floor, bathroom or surface cleaning. TV system froze every 5 minutes. The WiFi worked fine, reception staff were friendly, location is great for Centre Ville. But really, West Western needs to maintain better standards. This is a terrible hotel by any standards.

    2
    « Parking is terrible »

The parking lot was behind the hotel through a dark alley filled with dumpsters: intimidating and probably not safe after dark particulary if you are alone. However, the hotel staff did provide someone to walk with me to the car at checkout (it was still dark out).

    5
    « amazing hotel »

the hotel itself looks a little bit outdated, especially the hallways, but the room itself is nice and modern. It was tiny, but it was perfect! The staff was friendly, the hotel was always cleaned. It was a great place to stay and so close to everything downtown Montreal!

    4
    « Good location downtown »

Friendly staff made us feel welcomed Room had good shower water pressure and comfortable beds. We had no problems with noise made for easy sleeping. Easy walking distance to all of downtown and to train. parking is off site there is one one block away which is convenient but with a draw back being they only take cash.

    3
    « Adequate hotel ..... »

Basic hotel, set in a good location close to downtown and old Montreal. Although there has been a refurbishment, the hotel is still pretty average. Our safe was not working but is was fixed straight away and the hot water was a bit hit and miss. However it was clean with helpful staff and not expensive. Breakfast was available at Coras located within the hotel and was plentiful, freshly cooked and very reasonably priced.

    « Will return »

We were very pleasantly surprised to find our room so cozy. It was small but very well appointed with everything one needs. It was also extremely clean. Our king size bed and pillows were very comfortable. All linens in bathroom and bedroom were of good quality. The hotel is very good and surprisingly quiet in such a busy city. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We will stay at this hotel when visiting Montreal again.

« It reminds me of Tokyo hotels »

Rooms are super tiny reminding me of my accommodation in Japan. The room provides basic amenities with modern furniture. The room is clean and is more than sufficient for the overnight stay in downtown. The bathroom has a nice shower, however, the sink is tiny with not much counter space available. The Wi-Fi internet is very fast - impressive as not many hotels provide such a good connection.

    « Very nice hotel! »

This was where we stayed at the very start to a 2 week holiday and it started out just great! Very clean, modern room without carpet which is wonderful. Helpful staff, perfect location downtown near everything. Walked the infamous Mont Royal, St Catherine Street with it's wonderful shopping! We are English speaking Canadians who understand and speak just a little French...it was NEVER an issue, everyone we encountered was pleasant to deal with and tried their hardest to communicate...most spoke perfect English anyway, just a great experience overall.

Front deck staff - friendly and very helpful Rooms - small, however comfortable Restaurant - good food and lots of it. Bar - friendly staff nice decor Maid service - could use some help, they forget a lot Great location, if you love to walk this is the hotel for you

« Great price and location »

Couldn't ask for more conveniently located hotel at the price. Close to everything, bars, shopping and of course the arena. Def recommend if you looking for something in the middle of town at a budget price.

    « Great value & location »

Excellent option for downtown Montreal. Basic but attractive, clean, affordable and conveniently located. Within easy walking distance of the Montreal Museum of Fine Art and Crescent Street bars and restaurants.

« Just an Average stay »

The location is good to access the main downtown core for shopping and food. If you request an inner room there is little to no street noise. There is a fire hall right next door so you do hear them leave the hall during calls. The rooms need minor repairs and are quite small. No parking on site and you need to pay an additional $30.00 down the street and walk back up to the hotel. Chez Cora is attached to the hotel and provides a really good breakfast for under $6.00. We had trouble using our points and ended up having to pay for the night even though we had ample points to use. This was extremely disappointing and I still do not have a resolution, be forewarned you need to be sure your points are applied before 4PM or you are stuck paying. We tried to contact BW Rewards upon arrival at 1 PM and by the time we spoke with someone it was too late....super disappointing! No pool, fitness centre and hair salon on site. Internet was slow. Previous guests Kleenex left in our shower when we arrived.

« Would stay here again. »

Located in the heart of downtown, with Coras for breakfast and Addies for lunch or supper -- without having to leave the building. Friendly staff, clean room. Would recommend this to family and friends.

    « AIN'T NO PLUS HERE ?????? »

Recently I have become very impressed with Best Western Plus. Good value and upgraded rooms. Well... This hotel has had a face lift. Paint..... The bedding and bathrooms are good. However, my husband found that the click flooring moved about and was loose. GAPS! Mercifully, it was the construction holiday.. Otherwise it would have been construction noise... They are building condos right across the street . That won't end soon. OMG!! The check-in... Took over an hour!! Could you come back. I am sorry.. People were in the elevator complaining about the check-in, the parking fees, their air conditioning and the quality of the hotel. OMG x 2 .. Don't use the indoor parking. If it is better than the outdoor parking that must be something as the indoor parking is currently a cement dust filled, dirty garage where they are currently using jack hammers to remove the floor. You can see straight down. They do not warn you about this!! It isn't safe and there isn't an elevator... Give this a skip! Remember I am really liking Best Western Plus... This one does not represent that brand well. I feel sorry for the staff..,and I don't think that they have enough cleaners.. Otherwise, why aren't their rooms ready on time? Ohh.. Strip club near by... Yeah..

« The worst hotel ever- stay away »

We booked this hotel last week. Today we just checked in. Two hours before check in while we are on the bus I received a call that my card was not properly registered and the receptionist demanded that I provide her with my credit card information in the busy bus srounded with people. I said I am not comfortable. She started yelling at me then hung up. Few minutes later director of operations called and I explained the situation to him. I emailed him my credit card information since he threatened to cancel the reservation. After arriving at the hotel we realized that it's not worth $260 a night. The quality of hotel is terrible. Let's just say that motels has better quality of bedding, furniture, bathroom and guess what? It says that they have room service but no one wants to help you as there is no menu in the room. False advertisement, crappy service. Please do yourself a favour and never stay here. Thank you.

    « Fair »

Good location. But room was really small for 2 people and our luggage. Parking was inconvenient (one block away, very tight, extra cost and took long to get out because you have to back up every time you meet another car). Staff was nice. Bathroom was new and nicely done. I found it expensive for what I got.

« Small rooms and parking issues »

Hotel is in a good location in the downtown area but a ways from Old Montreal a $ 12 Uber ride. Very close to shopping and restaurants the hotel parking is $ 30 a night you may want to look around for a better rate. The rooms are good value but SMALL if you just want a place to sleep this may work

    4
    « Great location ! »

Great location ! Very close on foot to Bell center. Great restaurants and shops at proximity (St-Catherine), No carpets in the room. It was very clean and the staff was kind. My only complain is the elevator, they're very small !

    « Value for money »

On arrival the guy on the reception was not very welcoming just booked us in, passed us our card then walked away to carry on with something else, however this ignorance did not continue, all the other reception staff we dealt with through out our stay was very helpful and pleasant. The hotel room was small but very clean, bathroom/shower spotless, cleaned and fresh towels daily. The bed was so comfy, again fresh sheets daily. The hotel is in a great location central to all shops, underground, tour busses etc. There is a breakfast/lunch place located in the hotel where you can get a huge breakfast for a small price. Overall for the price and location I would not hesitate to stay here again.

« Great room and perfect location! »

Stayed here on a long weekend and it was great. The room was very large and clean. The location was right downtown and walking distance everywhere with the subway a block away, plus Cora's restaurant was downstairs. I would definitely recommend and stay in this hotel again.

    4
    « Great! »

Great place. Simple, clean and an excellent location in Montreal. Nothing fancy about this hotel but it was very clean and fresh and convenient. Even parking at an outside lot for a fee was expected and went quite smoothly. Would definitely stay again in the future.

    4
    « Great location »

We have stayed at this hotel in the past and like the location close to downtown Montreal. Carpets have been removed from the rooms, making them much cleaner and fresher. Attached to the building is a great breakfast restaurant - Chez Cora. The staff at the front desk are also helpful and friendly. Parking in the lot adjacent us outside, but close.

« Great inexpensive stay, awesome location! »

This hotel has a great location and awesome rates. Located right in the heart of the city, near the clubs, shopping and restaurants. Easily accessible via bixi bike and affordable parking nearby. Rooms are rather small and the views from some of the rooms is another building or parking but if you don't plan on spending much time in your room and our in the city, this is a great choice. I stayed twice and didn't have any complaints.

« Poor value for money »

Great location, right in a prime spot of downtown within walking distance of many destinations. We got a couple rooms for my bachelor party. We didn't realize until we got there, but they were the smallest, most spartan rooms I've ever seen in a hotel. Claustrophobic even. To say this is a no frills hotel is an understatement. The AC was extremely weak in one of the rooms. No amenities at all. Spend just a little more and stay at a better hotel. I will never book a room at a Best Western again.

    3
    « Dinner at Addies »

We went for dinner at Addies prior to the Celine Dion concert. It was near the bell center...we had Flat pizza with arugula and the smoke meat poutine...Both were really good but we could not finish both due to being rushed to attend concert...we will be back. Service was really nice and place was cute

    4
    « OK STAY »

One night stay, reviews in trip advisor prepared me for the deficiencies that seem to be this hotel's standard. Slow hot water delivery in AM and noisy A/C unit. No parking and nor breakfast. Great staff, good mattress and an excellent location for attending events at the Bell Center or visiting downtown Montreal.

    5
« Great hotel and staff. »

Our family stayed at this best western in downtown Quebec. It is very close to a lot of great places to eat and places to see. The staff went out of there way to make sure we got to every location on time and as inexpensive as possible. The only downside to the hotel is the lack of parking. But they work with a lot directly behind the hotel. It is an additional charge. But it is a very nice and clean hotel.

    4
    « Montreal in Summer »

The hotel was clean and well-located. The front desk staff were helpful and personable. However, the option to include the breakfast does not apply if you are using any other discount (AAA, etc.) The breakfast at the hotel was good, albeit expensive $$$.

    5
« Europa was pleasant surprise in a great city! »

The hotel was clean and we enjoyed the jacuzzi in our bathroom after doing a lot of sightseeing and walking! The staff was friendly and helped up in an efficient manner. Had some doubts staying at a downtown hotel in Montreal, but the Europa was great and we enjoyed our stay. The price rate for the room was good as well. Just wish that they offered at least a free continental breakfast like the other BWPlus hotels.

    4
    « Great Price »

While the room was small, it was immaculate and the bed was quite comfortable. It had a Cora's on site for great breakfasts and cost was minimal. It also had a restaurant and bar on the second level where the food was tasty. It had a small gym on top floor for those who don't get enough walking in.

    4
    « Nice hotel. »

We are on the 6th floor ...same floor as the exercise room. Lobby is nice.Front desk staff was friendly. Our room was clean, cool. Flooring is laminate, not carpeting which is so much better than a grubby carpet. bathroom is large. great shower stall. Nice lil store in lobby. Great prices for downtown Montreal.

    5
    « Amazing staff »

After a fiasco with our previous accommodations, we showed up at the Best Wester Europa a little desperate. The front desk manager was amazing and understanding, allowed us to check in early so we could get over the negativity in our holiday. The room was a great size for us, and the bed was amazingly comfy. We will definitely stay here next time!

    4
    « Central and clean »

This hotel in central and walking distance to the Bell Centre. The only issue was they did not inform us where to park or how much it would cost. It was behind the hotel at $30.00 per day. We had to leave our car keys with the lot.

« Comfy bed, good location, great breakfast »

We selected the Best Western Plus Hotel Europa because of its location and price and for that we were not disappointed. The bed is also extremely comfy which for 50+ is great. There is a Cora's in the building where you can get breakfast before 8am for under $6 - also a bonus. But the workout room is small and there isn't a pool so it is not a hotel to "hang out" in. But with the location close to St. Catherin Shopping an restaurants, a BIXI bike rental just outside the door, a few blocks from Mont Royal and a 20 minute walk from Old Montreal it is a great affordable place to stay and experience Montreal.

« First trip to Montreal »

Very nice hotel, clean, easy to get to from the Via station. The room was a good size, we were by the elevator on the 5th floor (501) which I was concerned about, but we only heard people a couple times. Just no street view from this room, but we weren't concerned about it. Comfortable beds. Weird floor in the tub, was soft, like the bathmat was built into it, I'd never seen that before and not sure that I liked it. The restaurant, Addie's, is very good and it is very convenient having Cora's attached to the hotel. Great location for exploring downtown and close to underground shopping entrances and transportation to the rest of Montreal. Elevators are somewhat slow when many are coming and going, they are quite small. Exercise room is well equipped but was very hot, didn't seem to have ac running. 1 treadmill was not working during our stay.

    2
    « Good location »

Good location for hotel. I was able to take the airport bus, which stops a few blocks away, to and from the airport. A lot of restaurants around. Easy to walk to all the attractions I wanted to see. Good wi-fi. The only problem was I saw 2-3 ants in my room daily, and on the last day there were several more. I also saw them in the hallway. Good location, price, room, but I have to rate this below average because of the ants!

    « 3 nights in Montreal »

Drove with 2 kids in tow from Quebec city to the hotel. The 3-hour ride turned into a nearly 5-hour journey. Montreal in summer in should be called Construction Ville as all the repairs are done in summer and most of the streets are under construction ( probably more so this year as per the bus tour guide, you may enjoy the overview of city with this tour and the pass is valid for 2 days with 15 min schedule hop off and on at multiple locations and starts from the Visitor information center which is about 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel ). The directions to the hotel are not correct on the website. Several exits are closed and rerouted and this confuses the GPS . Pros: hotel staff stayed on the phone for about 40 minutes to get us safely through the maze of streets. The location is very good and easy walk to anywhere in the downtown area ( blocks are long, wear good walking shoes), close to Metro stations and plethora of restaurants and shopping.Beds are comfortable and we had a fridge in the room with 2 queen beds. Hotel has a good restaurant for breakfast and brunch at a good value. Cons: some area of the lobby is under construction. Some rooms on the 6th floor are reachable after 25 stairs after getting off the elevator. No exhaust in the bathroom ( Best western policy... causes disturbance, may consider bringing air freshener along). Bon Voyage !!

« Great hotel, nice workout room, HUGE indoor pool »

Stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding and glad we had the wedding rate too. Had a huge indoor pool and ping pong table and arcade area that we were too busy to even enjoy. The outter edge rooms had 1-way exterior doors which was awesome for unloading and loading the car, but I didn't feel unsafe at night as there was another entry to my room. Would def stay here again.

    « PERFECT hotel - amazing value! »

Great staff. Beautiful room - reminded me of my room at the W Hotel in New York city. Location is ideal in the heart of the city. I was in Montreal on business and this was the second time I stayed at the Best Western. I will for sure stay here again.

    « Great location! »

Our check in went well, however when we got to our room, the door had been left open and no lights were on...pretty scary. Staff were good and checked the room, however they could not accommodate our request for a room change. This particular room was 673 and had a large deck that was shared with another room. It was sort of creepy. We spent the night there, the next night we had some trouble with aunts and so we were moved. The rest of our stay was awesome and comfortable. The location is amazing, you can walk to most attractions, shopping and food. the second room we had was much better and cleaner. It also "felt" safer. Other than our first night, it was a great place to stay and I would definitely stay there again.

    3
    « Great location »

This place was in a perfect location, right downtown. Everything is in walking distance (restaurants, shopping etc). There's nothing fancy about it but it was clean and comfortable, two must haves. My queen room was quite small but it met my needs and the bed was comfortable The hallways are quite narrow but it's an older building. I stayed on the second floor where the window wasn't that large, but it was fine. I wouldn't have my honeymoon here but I'd stay again if back in Montreal for any other reason.

    « Before a Cruise »

We booked a room here to stay over night when we going on a cruise that left from Montreal. We arrived at the hotel at 12:30pm, directly from the train station, to see if we could drop off our bags, thinking it was much too early for a check in. The woman at reception immediately said she could check to see if there was a room available for us. Surprisingly, there was, and we were able to check in immediately and freshen up. The room was over the court yard/reception area, so the window was tiny, and there was not much of a view. That is our only complaint though. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The carpeting has been replaced with laminate, which I find much preferable. The hotel is ideally located downtown, close to the Museum, shopping, the train station and restaurants/cafes. The staff are pleasant and accommodating. We were also able to arrange a late check out, to accommodate our cruise schedule. If you are looking for reasonably priced accommodations in downtown Montreal, you should consider the Best Western Europa.

« Great location, small rooms »

We stayed at the hotel July 15th and 16th while the Just for Laughs Festival was happening as well as a food venue. During this weekend every year they shut down Rue Ste. Catharine, for side walk sales. Hotel was clean, the restaurant on site was good, we had appies and drinks there twice. My husband had breakfast at Cora's which is always good. As for the location, it was excellent, Rue St. Catharines is a busy shopping street and it is 1 block away. Crescent St. which has a lot of restaurants is 7-8 minute walk and Old Montreal is only a 20 minute walk. Parking is just before the hotel $40/day for our truck, We would definitely stay here again.

    « Great hotel »

What a great place to stay. Location was #1 and everything about our stay was fantastic. We had a double room and was spacious, very clean and the beds were comfy. Its on a side street so you don't get the noise from the street. Front desk was very helpful when needed and we printed off boarding passes there at a free for all use of a printer which was perfect. I would return again for sure.

    « A quiet Hotel »

We picked this hotel because it is on a quiet street and it has a classic charm. great staff, 2 nice and convenient restaurants, with attentive and personable staffs. Would stay there again on our next trip to Montreal.

    « Brilliant location »

best Western Plus Downtown Montreal is brilliantly located and in the centre of the city. Our room was clean and spacious and all that we could ask for. We found the staff to be professional and very friendly. There are dozens of eating options within 2 blocks of the hotel. We didn't use the restaurant in the hotel, we did try to eat there on the first night, they were very quiet but we were one of three groups left waiting for a table for 6 minutes without any staff speaking to us. Eventually an abrupt gentleman told us to " go and sit over there - pointing to a table" no menu, we waited a further 3 minutes and decided to try elsewhere. We did eat out 3 nights and checking the bills we spent $340. their loss.

« Delightful stay at an excellent location »

My wife, 10 year old daughter and I had three nights in Montreal. I wanted to book a hotel near the train station as we were arriving from Toronto and departing to New York City. We arrived mid-afternoon from Toronto on July 1 Canada day so the city was on holiday mode and many shops were closed. From the train station, it took us about 15 minutes walking with luggage to the hotel, walking along Rue Rene Levesque. The hotel was easy to find (thanks to Google maps). When we arrived, we were surprised that the room was ready one hour before official check in and it was a great welcome. The room we got on the fourth floor was large and the king size bed looked inviting. The sofa bed was huge and comfortable too. Even with the bed out, there was still plenty of room to walk around. Service was top-notch and the internet was free and very fast. While breakfast was not included, there were so many options around. The nearest subway station was a 10 minute walk. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by this property considering the price we got. It was my wife's favorite hotel in our 2016 holiday!

    « Everything you need. »

The Europa is conveniently located for those arriving by train, car or airport. Located just 5 blocks from the train station and 2 blocks from the airport bus stop, it is also just 2 1/2 blocks from the metro station. There are two outstanding restaurants in the hotel with delicious food and excellent service with prices amazingly reasonably priced. The staff were welcoming and provided great guidance on getting around and offering sightseeing suggestions. I'd recommend for any type of travel.

« Decent Hotel with some Hiccups »

My wife and I and infant son stayed at this hotel which was halfway between Mount Royal and Old Montreal. We found out that it's located next to several Massage Parlors and Strip Clubs within 30 seconds of the hotel (in any case, we had walked around the neighborhood quite a bit, and it was a very safe area). Not exactly ideal, but it didn't really bother us. The hotel is also in close location to quite a few nice shops and restaurants; there also are plenty of Exchange Bureaus at the Souvenir shops close by (less than a two minute walk on Rue St. Catherine) to exchange your currency. Also, best and cheapest option for breakfast close by is a Diner-like place to the right on Rue St. Catherine called Mister Steer and a late-night grocery store (Vietnamese) on Rue Stanley (a 5 minute walk away) It appears that this hotel has been upgraded somewhat recently too. Our room and the other room we stayed in had all new floors (looks just like pictures on site), good TVs, WiFi was fast despite previous reviews that I saw, Bed was pretty comfortable, and seemed pretty clean. We started our stay in a room that was facing a Construction site (a high rise luxury apartment building is being built) probably for the next 2 years seeing their current progress. We used the AC and started smelling the same smell that we smelled in the parking garage that we were parked at the next street over, the smell of concrete dust. The smell was strong and we could actually taste it in our mouths. We reported this to the front desk, and since they did not have any rooms to switch us to, they said they could do so the following day, which they kept their promise, and they moved us to a larger room on the 4th floor facing the other direction; the initial room on the 5th floor was quite small and the bathroom was very narrow. I hit my knee getting undressed on the sink since there was not much room and getting in the shower was pretty hard. It appears that there is quite a variance in room sizes; so make sure if you are taller, or larger in size to make sure you secure a big enough room to accommodate your dimensions. The only thing is that one night, we came back from dinner, and we witnessed two very attractive girls with lots of tattoos going to someone's room (they were obviously from an escort service or local strip club) They were accompanied by a large black man that had a SECURITY shirt on that then guarded the room (wow, very discrete). I went in the hallway about 20 minutes later to go down to the lobby, and I could hear quite a bit of noise coming from that area with the security guard pacing around. I guess the hotel doesn't mind this kind of activity. I would have hated to be in the room next to them. In any case, the hotel was pretty clean, but it had an odd odor to it. I don't know if its the cleaner they use or if they wash each room with dirty water, but even each of the floors smelled funny (it wasn't terrible, but I would think from the nice decor that the smell would be better). They should really use some sort of fresher scent cleaner or something to freshen the carpets. The entryway elevator smelled slightly of old piss or maple syrup ironically. It was a good hotel despite all of this, and it was a pretty decent price for the location, but I hope that they can make changes to avoid the same issues with other customers.

    « Excellent Location »

« Great location and wonderful staff ... »

The location of ths hotel is great, directly on the main streets and near the Festival quarter and a 30 min pleasant walk from the old port area. It doesn't really have many public rooms, lounges etc but has large guest rooms, an excellent bar/restaurant and - probably more importantly - a great breakfast diner with terific food at really reasonable prices served by wonderful, smiley, friendly staff. Hotel doesn't have its own car park but uses a secure, multi-level one some 200 yards away and gives you a ticket for it so you pay the hotel. Only isssue we had was that the room had cheap and badly fitting roller blind and no curtains on window which meant the sleep quality due to light and noise pollution was poor - actually really annoying and if not changed would stop me recommening this hotel. But I am asured by a manager that there is a planned upgrade for these and if so then great.

    « Great Economical Choice »

Hotel Europa is very well situated and reasonably price hotel in downtown Montreal. Very close to St. Catherine, Rene Levesque and Sherbrooks Streets.Metro stops within five minutes of the hotel. Chez Cora restaurant connected to hotel simply one of Montreal's best breakfast places. Clean, nice size and economical can't go wrong with Hotel Europa..

    « Nice enough »

Small, clean updated rooms. Queen bed seemed smaller than most queen beds. Comfortable. No parking but parking available within a block for around $20.00. Walking distance to many restaurants. Easy to get around. Nice front desk staff. Small elevators.

« Very Good Price and Comfort in Downtown Montreal »

Large Clean Room directly in downtown Montreal. Building is older but your room gets extra space. A/C is efficient but a little noisy. You can find overnight parking on the street, and several garage lots nearby. Easy access to museum, shopping, subway station. Good restaurant (CORA) for breakfast, accessible from lobby. Very good ratio price/quality.

« A "nice" hotel to stay in while in Montreal Que. »

This is a very good, "nice" hotel to stay in. It is very close to the main shopping street St. Catherine Street and within walking distance of the Montreal Museum of Fine Art. "Old Montreal" is a bit of a distance from this hotel, but you could take the subway. The price is good. The hotel has a nice restaurant. Within the hotel is a "Cora's Restaurant" which has just fabulous and reasonable, delicious breakfasts, served quickly by excellent staff.

    « over-rated. »

I expected more from this hotel, but it is rather ordinary. Rooms are small. There is no view, except brick wall. Old, definitely not modern hotel. It seems it would need some renovations. Good location though. Parking was across the street, in a parking lot.

    4
« Excellent Hotel in Downtown Montreal »

Best Western is a good and modern hotel. It is in the heart of Montreal close to some of the best shops and restaurants in town. The only problem I had was the noise coming from a construction near the Hotel.

    3
« Economical and good location »

This hotel is close to shopping in downtown. 10 minutes walk to McGill University. The hotel did not provide breakfast and parking is extra. Room is spacious compared to value and location. We found that hotel good in location that we can shop and go back to the hotel to drop off our purchase, go again for shopping. Close to metro station as well.

    « Nicely Central »

We were in Montreal for two nights for a quick sight-see. We took the train from Ottawa, and this BW was only a 10 minute walk from the Via Station (exit onto Rene Levesque, go left, then turn right on Drummon. So easy and convenient). There is also another BW nearby on Sherbrooke I think. I do like Best Westerns, and this one did not disappoint. We thought the rooms were nice and comfortable, my son was pleased with the exercise room, and all the staff were great. If you are an Anglophone and want to relax to some tv however, the channel selection could be a bit better (but then this is not unusual for many chains). I did miss the "inclusive" breakfast that many Best Westerns have, but there is a Cora's restaurant in the hotel. But there are MANY other places nearby, and although Cora's is good, and since we had to buy breakfast anyway, we checked other places locally. If you just want McD's, there are several very close. There are also several Starbucks close. There are MANY other places close. One of my choices was Bagel Expressions on nearby Cote du Beaver Hall. Google map is most helpful, and you see how close you are to many attractions. Bell Centre, for instance, is less than two blocks south. I also like to walk.

« Great location, needs remodeling »

We loved the location of this hotel. It was close to many things but the room and especially the bathroom was in need of remodeling. We had a good size room for my family of 4. We tried to use the fitness room but it wasn't much of one, 4 machines plus the weights machine. There was a 'terrace' advertised but we couldn't really find it. What we found was the front of the fitness area and there was no patio furniture indicating it was a terrace. The A/C was used b/c it was hot but it was old and very noisy. The bathroom had a toilet that leaked.

« Good location. Nothing special but good value for the cost. »

Visiting Montreal I was stymied by how pricey hotels could be. It seems the closer you are to the Old Town - the heftier the price tag. I chose to stay at the Best Western Plus because while it is a chain, I have had fairly good experiences over the years. This one, was okay. Nothing particularly special or unique about it. The very definition of a 3 out of 5 hotel. The restaurant next door was another chain, Cora, but they had a decent breakfast. My room looked nice, although maybe not as clean as I would have liked. (I saw some stray hairs in the bathroom!) However, all that being said, I was centrally located enough that I could easily walk to a number of attractions, and the train station is close by as well which was very convenient. And it was fairly good value for the money, so as long as you aren't expecting anything special - it'll do.

« Great Place for Business Stay »

Had a great but short overnight stay at this hotel. My assistant picked it out for me. It was a great value for a last minute business trip, in the heart of downtown Montreal. No complaints. The room was big with a very comfortable king size bed plus a queen size sofa bed(I didn't need it but it was great that it was included in my room for such a great cost). I would definite use this hotel again.

« Close to Fine Art Museum and Old Montreal »

Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown - Hotel Europa is in close proximity to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, and Old Montreal. Crescent Street is also close by, and offers a wide variety of trendy restaurants. The attached restaurant, Cora and Bistro Bar Addies are both a good value and quite good. Overall the hotel and room is nicely decorated, clean, and can offer good views. I recommend this hotel is you want to stay near a variety of retail shops, art museums, and good food.

    « great location »

great location , fair price, clean, friendly professional staff , off site parking walking distance to museums, old town, restaurants , shopping . easy access to major highways, close to M agill university, during the week the city gets quiet . hotel by the metro station.

    4
    « Convenient location »

This hotel is extremely conveniently located in downtown Montreal. It's near the subways and bus routes as well as all the shopping of St. Catharine street. The check-in went very smoothly and the staff were friendly and fluent in English. The room itself was nice. I especially liked the huge bathtub. What I didn't like was the air conditioning unit. It worked just fine and was temperature controllable. However, it was very loud. There was a constant noise and an additional noise when it kicked into high gear. If you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend this hotel for that reason. Or, I would recommend bringing earplugs!

« Clean room, good food, but very poor customer service »

I stayed there while attending a conference last night (and unfortunately tonight). A couple of things: The bad: I could only get cold water in my room. I talked to customer service and they said they would "look into it", but when i got back from the conference there was no message left for me. I thought I would try to have shower this evening, to avoid the busy time for hot water production (which is the am), and still only got cold water. I am more than annoyed with the customer service, especially since I paid more than I should have for the room here. Also, would it kill the Best Western to have milk/cream that a guest can use/ask for with their coffee maker in the morning (they already provide a fridge...)? that powder stuff makes any coffee taste like poop. The good: the independently owned restaurant, Adidos served good food, at a decent price. I had the homemade vegetarian ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta, in a rosee sauce with mushrooms (really delicious - $13 dollars, wine was $6). Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow (however, it was friendly) despite the fact that there were not many people inside.

    « It was ok »

First, I'll state that I love the convenience of having a breakfast/brunch restaurant right off the lobby, so you don't have to go searching for a place to get your morning grub. Also, I love the decor in the room & the staff (excluding front desk receptionist) were very approachable and friendly. Cons: I really hated the size of the room, for the price paid ($2160 for a week, 1 room with 2 double beds) I feel like we should have had some space in the room. It was super tight, def not big enough to comfortably fit 4 adults. There is a fridge in the room, but it was more of a 'cooler' but even the 'cooler' barely kept our beverages that we purchased outside cool. Will I stay here again: Probably not, but if I can't find anything else.. it will do.

    « Stayed during F1 race weekend »

Great location, easy access to 2 metro lines. I arrived at 8am and they had a room available so not waiting till afternoon to check in was nice. The food/service at the hotel resto is good. I only had breakfast there.

    2
« Beware - Do not take the advise of the Front Desk and use the parking lot behind the hotel! »

The "special rate" was a lot worst than the public garages, and it is not based on 24 hours, but on segments of the day. So it will cost you more than the public garage (that is based on when you arrived) if you do not remove your car by noon. Place is getting a little run down. TV service would loose the signal, but I was not there to watch TV. Picture would break up now and then, but the worst was the audio would loose the signal and there would be no sound for minutes at a time. A little aggravating when watching the news.

« Stay at Best Western, Montreal »

I arrived at the Hotel early and was told that there were no rooms available. I confirmed with the Receptionist that I would be returning later and left my luggage in the Storage Room. I returned at 12 midnight to be told that the evening supervisor had cancelled my Reservation. I was left stranded in the middle of the night with an offer for a non-discounted stay somewhere else. I was not even offered free transportation to this other hotel, considering that the cancellation was done without a notification to me. I am not familiar with the City and felt that it was unsafe to be traveling in a strange country in the middle of night. Therefore, I declined their offer to stay at another hotel. I was very disappointed with the service and attitude of the staff which I found to be heartless. They were not very accommodating and that is something I believe should go hand in hand with good customer service. Therefore, I believe that arrangements should be made for the staff to be groomed in courtesy and customer service!

    4
    « Clean, Good Location »

Right in the heart of downtown just a few minutes walk from basically everything. The staff was friendly and the rooms clean. The only problem was parking. They do not have their own lots and the going rate in the area is about $30 a day.

    3
« Reservation was cancelled because staff could not get in touch with me whilst mid-Atlantic »

Was very disappointed to find reservation was cancelled, after travelling for 24 hours to get to Montreal. Receptionist was exceptionally rude and told me that I was "lucky" that she could find me another room. Apart from above experience... the hotel was ok. No issues with the room or the facilities. The location is great.

    5
« centrally located near Rue Sainte Catherine »

This hotel is steps up away from the Rue Sainte Catherine street, a great walking street and near the Eaton Centre shopping center. It's also two blocks from Sainte Crescent, which has a lot of sidewalk cafes and it's great for people watching. Stayed here for three nights and walked to Old Montreal and saw the Notre Dame Basilica, a three mile hike, but we needed the exercise

    4
    « Very good location »

Great hotel that is well located, very friendly, we'll maintained and clean. Easy walking to all attractions and many restaurants and bars along with great shopping. Coffee and tea making facilities in room and staff very helpful.

    1
    « Dump »

Dirty, broken and chipped flooring in room, broken light fixtures. Don't stay here! Lady was rude at check in. Location is great, it's near most of the shopping areas and restaurants. But other hotels would be a better choice.

    4
    « TRIP TO MONTREAL »

I stayed at Best Western in Montreal for business. My daughter came as well to do shopping. It is confidently located for both business and shopping. Minutes away from St Catherine and close to restaurants. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

    2
    « Old »

As I sit in this hotel room, it reminds me of a European style room... Old ... Dirty... And small. At least there is no shared bathrooms. The lobby is nice but that's about it. They have "redone" the rooms but throwing down laminate and hanging a TV on the wall is not redone to me. Also with laminated flooring you have to actually clean the rooms fully as to get the hair and debris from past guests out. I would suggest a different hotel as there are many on the same block and for a better price.

    4
« Clean and nice and in downtown »

It is in great location, people are helpful. The room was really clean(for me the and very very comfortable bed. We had a nice and comfy time there with my family. There is two parking place available around the hotel, so you do not need to park in the street and pay a high rate.

    3
« Construction noise & problem with hotwater »

Rooms very clean and comfortable. Frequent problem with hot water, most days had to wait 10 minutes for hot water to shower. One afternoon, there was no hot water at all! Workers renovating the floor was smoking, smoke came into our room on other end of hotel. Construction noise from parking lot across street was loud and early in morning. We were woken up every day at 6am! Our room rate changed (increased) and was charged but not told or explained by staff.

  • 2
    « disturbed sleep »

I usually have a good experience at Best Western but this time there was loud talking in the hallway most of the night and at 6am our smoke detector started to beep. Front desk sent a custodian to look at it but he saw it was on a high ceiling and left . He didn't return so I guess he assumed the noise wouldn't be a bother

    5
« Enjoyable stay in Downtown Montreal »

The hotel was in a convenient location for visiting family and also walking around the downtown area. It was easy to locate the city's tourist center. I use the Hop on Hop Off tourist bus from Greyland on day to see the city sites. The 2 restaurants located in the the hotel including Cora's were convenient and both offered a varied menu and good service. This made things easy for an individual travelling on solo.

« Genuine Friendly Helpful Staff + Excellent Location !!! »

Stayed here for a week early May 2016. Check in was a breeze. Service from staff was FIVE STAR. They really care & try their best to ensure you are happy. The room had a mini fridge, free coffee/tea each day to go with the in-room coffee maker. The free wifi was way faster than expected & smooth. The location is super close to Saint Catherine Street for eating & shopping. Peel Metro Station is just a few minutes walk away. Given that other hotels in this location were charging more than double, Best Western is the most awesome deal you can find. The room was clean, there's a gym on the top 6 floor. Lobby has desktop computer & printer free for you to use. There's also a convenience store right at the lobby if you need to buy medication, candy, chips, pop, etc. Cora is also connected to the lobby, good place for breakfast. Check out is 11am, but since our flight was in the evening, the hotel staff was helpful in letting us check out couple hours late, but keep in mind it's based on their room availability & you can only arrange this the morning of check out day, not prior. Taxi to and from the airport was 20 min. What stood out for this hotel is the fact that they are not pretentious, all staff are down to earth & easy to talk to. I am so glad I did not pick another place to stay, however, the heater/fan in the room is a bit noisy, other than that it was an awesome experience.

    4
    « Perfect location »

Great location just off Rue St Cathérine, where all the major stores are. Hotel staff is very helpfull and the rooms are spacious and clean. On site breakfast at Cora's is almost more than you can eat.

« Clean, affordable and convenient business hotel »

This hotel provided me with a good and spacious room, for three nights. I had no problems, except a little issue with strength and stability of the wi-fi signal, which in any case worked well (simply I lost without noticing the connection with my phone, entering in international data roaming). Conveniently located near airport bus stops and close to shops, restaurants.

    1
« No hot water in the shower during May 2016 »

Do not stay at this hotel if you expect a hot shower. Management has decided to control the amount of hot water proved to the guest. I complained twice and it was told that when 2 many people take showers @ one time the water runs out. Water is warm at best so if you expect a hot shower do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

« Great Hotel In Montreal »

Convenient location to Bell Centre and shopping on St. Catherine's Street. The rooms were clean and the staff did a great job making us feel at home. We thought this was a great place and close to all the action.

    « Great location »

This was a great location right off of St. Catherine's Street. Convenient location to shopping and Bell Centre. Clean room and friendly staff. Had issues with wifi connection constantly, maybe because we were at end of hall on top floor.

    « Gals' Weekend Getaway »

I booked this hotel for six gals who wanted to do what we could for the economy in the weekend. It is perfectly situated. Ten minutes walk from the train station. One block from the Bell Centre. One block from St Catherine and shopping. SAQ just around the corner. An excellent Italian restaurant almost next door (La Medusa), a terrific Bistro in a the hotel where we had one lunch, Reuben's Smoked Meat just minutes away walking and a very good breakfast at the iconic Cora's downstairs. The beds were so comfy and the linens so smooth and lovely. Even the queen sized pull out couch was pleasant. Rooms are clean. Reception friendly.

    « Friendly Hotel »

The hotel had a very friendly and helpful staff. We have stayed there before. The rest of Montreal is NOT handicap accessible. Stores had stairs either going up or down, or had a stoop that my scooter could not go over.

    « Good experience ! »

A few nights in thi Europa Best Western, so close to everything in downtown Montreal. Very friendly staff Clean and confy room Shower very clean, hot water. Bed was awesome Wifi fantastic fast no problem My room was in 6th floor so very quite. I hate carpet so big plus because no carpet in my room. Small gym but at least you have one! If you need parking 20$ at night not bad for downtown! I'll go back anytime!

    2
    « A terrible experience »

WIFI almost did not work in my room. I had to go to the lobby to get the signal. A construction site is beside the hotel. They worked from 6 am. Soundproof of the windows is very poor. The heating unit is very noisy. Couldn't sleep well.

    4
    « One Night »

Spent one night in this hotel, it was a pleasurable experience, from check in to leaving at 5am next morning. Spent a couple hours in the lounge having dinner and enjoying the atmosphere. Was a very nice way to relax after a long days drive. Room was nice, not tired looking at all. Only draw back was finding socks and underwear in the drawer from a previous guest. I had the salmon for dinner, not the best I ever had but never the less a good meal. Two thumbs up in my view

    3
    « NIce but not eco-friendly »

Very handy location. Nice bed and bedroom. Nice staff (especially the maids and staff at Cora restaurant). But in terms of environmental concern this would deserve a LOT of work... it is time to move on!

    5
    « Hospitality was excellent »

My family and I arrived at the hotel early that morning, although the check-in was for 4pm, the staff offered to check us in at noon. The train ride into Montreal was long and we barely slept. We were all happy that they were able to let us in our room sooner. I strongly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel

    3
    « It served a purpose... »

We just needed a decent place to sleep since we didn't spend much time at the hotel. It was well priced for the location, close to some great food and shopping on St Catherine, easy to hop on the highway. Parking in the lot across the street that was under construction was inconvenient but worked ok. Our room was quite noisy, right beside the maid's closet, and I think above the kitchen as we had some interesting food smells wafting in from somewhere. Our TV remote was disgustingly filthy, made us question what else hadn't been cleaned... But we did get fesh towels and toiletries each day. Staff was pleasant. Overall it was ok for what we wanted and paid.

« College search in Montreal »

Good location at a reasonable price. The arrangement with the parking garage across the street where you can come and go for 24 hours is a plus. Montreal is a walking city but you do need the car when you go away from downtown.

« right in the center. »

Walked here from the trainstation. Early checkin no problem. Room ok, bed comfortable. Breakfast had what I needed. Location perfect. Didn't use any of the facilities of the hotel. Wifi slow as usual.

    5
    « VERY CONVENIENT LOCATION »

Excellent service. Close to downtown concert venue and restaurants. Only 2 blocks away from the Bell Center. A five minute walk and we were there. Great value compared to other hotels in the same area that were almost twice the price. Would definitely use again on future trips to Montreal.

    « Rangers weekend »

Stayed here for a NY Rangers weekend. First off, of course we beat the Habs, 5-2. Proximity to the Centre Bell can't be beat, literally turn right out of the hotel and make a bee line for the arena. Staff were nice and very helpful, stored my frozen croissants from Premiere Moisson for the trip home Sunday. The room I selected (see pic) was basic and small but I knew what I reserved, Expedia listed the room as 'Standard Room, 1 Queen Bed, Non Smoking (Small Room)'. Hotel is a little dated but I don't require a ritzy hotel as I'm there only to crash. Room had all the usual amenities including coffee & tea. Climate control decent, albeit a little noisy but not enough lose sleep. Very close to the retail Rue St Catherine and the activity Rue Crescent have to offer. Don't miss breakfast at Cora's right there in the hotel: crepes, waffles, pancakes, omelettes, eggs Benedict (sorry, Eggs Ben et Dictine when in 'Ke-Bec') and of course, the fresh fruit. For Centre Bell events, it's tough to beat this place. Oh, and it had some of the best rates in town when I was there in late March 2016. If I need to stay in this area again, I'll no doubt be right back here.

« location of the hotel »

the best location of all the hotels in MTL .Every thing you need is close by , less than five minutes walking to shops , restaurants , public buses , the underground metro ,cinemas , banks , and MTL underground city .

    « Great location »

Had stayed there a few years ago and decided to go back again on this trip. We had limited luggage so we walked from the train station. (only a few blocks away) The hotel is on Drummond between René Lesvèque and Ste Catherine, right in the heart of downtown Montréal. There is also a metro station nearby (Peel Street). We were not disappointed. The hotel was as we remembered it from our last time there. The front desk staff are friendly. The room (on the smaller side) but clean, well appointed and quiet. The bed is very comfortable. High level of quality/price.

    3
    « Reception »

The location of the Hotel is excellent, it is a valuable choice in terms of price and location. The room size is okay not as small as some other people had reviewed. I won't expect everything is excellent, I know how much I paid for. However, the services I got will have room to improve, in particular, the non-welcome communication I got when checked in, lack of basic info I need, for example, parking info nearby, restaurants or local interest... I will only recommend this Hotel to people who is very price sensitive.

    4
    « 80 out of 100 »

We had a queen size bed room. The room has pretty much everything we need. Hair dryer, iron, tv n wifi. They setup a membership for us for early check in. The location is giving us the convenience is an advance. It takes us around 8 mins to metro, and there r quite a lot of options for dining around. The only down side of this hotel is you could hear your neighbors closing their doors. Other than that. Thumb up for it.

    3
« Exceeds my modest expectations »

Location, location, location. Easy walk from the train stations or the subway. There's no parking; staff offers suggestions for neighboring parking lots/parking garages (at $C30/day) with the proviso, the lots may be full. Rooms are small but clean. No hot water for shower, 2 mornings in a row; there was hot water at the bathroom sink. (Probably related to the age of the building.) But the location is unbeatable....it's Montreal and you won't be spending much time in your room.

    5
    « Highly recommanded Hotel »

Well situated Hotel in Montreal city close to all needed services , metro and bus stations , university , restaurants , hockey staduim , underground city , Concordia university . Helpfull staff , Clean rooms , I highly recommand for Montreal visitors .

« Good hotel, but watch out for rooms ending in -10 »

Our overall experience here was good, but don't get a room that ends in 10 (410, 510, etc). They are odd T shaped rooms that are very dark (only one small window) and the TV is nowhere near the beds. Also, parking in a garage on the next street over is a quite a bit cheaper (still arranged through the hotel), and is still very close.

    « Not recommended »

We were going to stay there for 5 nights but we left after the first night!! The front desk staff was not welcoming at all. We asked about the construction and if it was noisy to be on that side of the building and the staff said:" No one has ever complained! There is no noise!" We had a terrible night. Noisy old air conditioner in the room kept turning on and off every 10 minutes all night. At 5:45 am the construction machines and workers started working (on a weekend) and we were not able to stay in the room and stand the noise! We did not even stay for the breakfast and at 8:00 we were checked out! The room was too small. The bathroom was so small and compact that just a tiny slim person would be able to move around there. The bathroom also needs renovation.

« Great Location, terrible parking »

I stayed here recently with my fiancé on a last minute get away from New York. The location of this hotel is its best feature. It's close to so many great restaurants, close to several entrances to the underground and close to the metro as well. We stayed one night in a king room with city views. Bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean for the most part, those there was long brown hair in the tub that the housekeeper couldn't have missed. There was also a sheet from a lint roller stuck on the floor by the toilet. Weird that the housekeeper missed that too. This place has WORST parking though. Located directly across the street is a lot you can park in. The middle eastern guy who runs the lot tried to rip us off, telling us we had to pay him cash (the front desk told me I could charge it to the room) so after arguing with him for a minute I went to the hotel and got a slip that we needed to get the discounted parking the hotel offers. And THEN as we were leaving the next morning we watched the lot operator back someone's very nice Audi into another car. And he just parked it up in a different spot like its no big deal. There was a large scrape on the bumper. Overall I would likely stay here again. But most definitely would park in the garage rather than the more convenient lot.

    « Great family trip »

Great service, great staff, very clean and affordable hotel ! Situated in a great location, close to everyhting downtown. Not too noisy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was able to have access to my room earlier thanks to the Best Western Card and had a late check out also.

    « Business in Montreal »

I chose this hotel for location, which is great. I asked not to have the sheets changed on my bed during my stay. Which weren't but the coffee was not restocked or grounds emptied. There was only one partial roll of TP in the bathroom had to ask for more. I had a bloody nose my first night and blood got on the shower curtain. The shower curtain was not changed for my whole stay.

    « A+ »

If I'm ever in Montreal again, it's almost a guarantee I'll be staying here. Other than the restaurant this hotel was fantastic. Many other fantastic food options within walking distance make up for the hotel. Staff was very helpful when my check in plans got changed last minute. A+

« Small "bedroom" but perfect for the size »

I was shocked when I walked into my room and had to stop immediately in my step before I reached the bed. The room was small like the bedroom of a home except it had a bathroom attached to it. I soon realized that it had everything I needed. A closet, desk, large mirror, TV, queen size bed, chair, space to spread my things out and it was clean ( I always check the bed sheets in detail). There was enough space for myself as a single traveler but I'm not sure if there would be enough space with another person if I was planning an extended stay. There are lots of great restaurants nearby with a Cora's attached to the same lobby. I would stay here again!

I stayed here 10 years ago then returned this year - experience was still great. The location is very convenient for getting around downtown by foot. Easy access to the Metro to grab the subway to further out spots. Room was cosy (small) but perfectly fine for travellers who are more concerned with seeing things than with spending time in their hotel room.

We stay here everytime we are in Montreal. Its a great location within walking distance of St. Catherines and the Bell Centre. And the price is great. Due to illeness this was my first trip back to Montreal.I found the Best Western on Drummond Street to be a delightful experience. The Front Desk Staf were so helpful and did thier best to make my stay a happy delightful time from my arrival until my departure. My King bed was perfect for my body and the pillows perfect for my neck as I have a medical problem. The floors were hardwood and the only complaint was the lack of floor cleanliness upon my arrivalThe restaurants were very good and the food and service fast and efficient.Wes McNeice Mississauga Ont Canada

    « GREAT STAY »

give you 5 stars service and rooms for a 3 star rate. The check in was flawless, helpful staff. Great location for the hockey game. Near all kinds of restaurants. Beautiful rooms Laminate floors, air conditioning, the most comfortable pillows and beds..

« Going to Habs Game »

Great place to stay if you are going to a Habs game at the Bell Centre. Only a two minute walk to the Bell Centre. Arrived from Ontario on Via train at Central Station. About a ten minute walk to Best Western. Room was small but quite adequate for an overnight stay. Room was clean. Comfy bed. Staff were great on check in and checkout. Cora's is a great place for breakfast.

    « Best western europa »

We stayed at the best western europa for 2 nights in march. We had an executive suite. Check in was quick. Front desk is friendly. In our room long hairs were found on the floor in the bathroom. You could tell the floor hasn't been vaccumed in awhile since you could see dust bunnies. Dust was found on the night tables. I don't have high expectations but would I do like having a clean room. The parking for the hotel is across the street. Had to pay $80 for 2 nights. Bad for the hotel business since the attendant wasn't friendly not a thank you when being paid. Great location to the bell centre and outlets. Will stay elsewhere next time I go to montreal.

    « Bell Centre Visit »

This hotel is located just a few steps from the Bell Centre where we attended Disney on Ice with our grand-daughter. Cora is next to lobby for breakfast and hotel is only a few feet from Ste-Catherine St. Perfect for the shopper in you. Clean and affordable hotel.

    « Good deal »

If you are looking for a good deal hotel extremely well located in Montreal.... here you go Walking distance from all the shops and the business center of downtown Montreal, I like this hotel for its price as well and the quality of service

    5
« Great location and service at a bargain »

Is not often you find a hotel which value proposition surpasses the fees so clearly than this one. Everything was as expected it or better. The staff is professional and helpful. The room, furniture and other facilities where quite comparable with hotels that charge you double. Very impress and definitely coming back.

Staff was friendly and rooms clean, would recommond . When there to watch a hockey game. Good place to stay and rooms were very nice . Why we have to put in 200 charcters to say a hotel is nice is beyond me, Nice hotel

    « Hockey Game! »

Wonderful location! One minute walk to the Bell Center! Cheap cab ride from the train station!Small but comfortable clean rooms. Friendly staff! Loved that Cora's and Addie's restaurants were on site. Would recommend and will return.

« nice hotel, unclean bathroom »

checked in and there was a sanitized slip on the toilet but it was not at all clean. there was pee on the floor around the toilet and on the toilet. there is no way anyone cleaned that toilet, they just put the slip on the toilet saying it was cleaned.

    5
    « Great location! »

We went to a Habs game and we couldn't have picked a better spot to stay. You litterly walk out of the hotel and look down the street and the bell centre is right there only a 5 min walk. Plus we were close to all the pubs and great shopping area! The hotel was very clean and staff very very helpful and friendly! Definately stay here again!

    4
    « Small room »

We stayed here last year and I find the room small but it is clean. The location is pretty close to everything. It is in downtown Montreal so it is very accessible. We had to park our car on the other location coz the parking area in front of the hotel is kinda shady.

    5
    « Excellent »

Very Excellent. Great location (close to everything) and staff is always awesome to deal with and always have a smile on their face. Have stayed many times and will again. Rooms are always very clean.

    « Ok »

Great staff. Great location. Clean. Very small rooms. No bathtub in my room. No black-out curtains in my rooms. Very small window. Comfy bed. Bad decor. Did the job for the money for a downtown hotel.

    « MANY THANKS »

Super experience!!!! perfect all the way!!!!!!!!!Everything was alright...... good localisation...naer of the Bell center and centre-ville..... Staff was ver professionnal and i appreciated the commodities in the main loby like the internet access......

« Nice and close to Bell Centre »

We had a nice surprise upon check in by being upgraded to the king sofa room. The ladies checking us in were very friendly and liked to laugh as we were joking around with them. The extra walk up the curved flight of stairs was worth it as the spacious room was lovely. It would be really great in the summer as it has a large outdoor deck attached. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We were unfortunately woken by inconsiderate guests at 3-4 am with slamming of doors and loud voices in the hallway. The attached breakfast restaurant Coras serves a delicious breakfast and were very helpful when we noted we had a train to catch. Overall pleasant experience as it was close to shopping and the Bell centre for the hockey game.

« Good location, ok hotel »

Stopped in through the city. Hotel is located right in the heart of shopping on St. Catherines which is good. But hotel did not offer parking. Parking is in a shady parking lot across the street and was expensive. Room that I had was nice and big but could use an update. The bed was lumpy, bathtub looked like it was painted and cracking, dirty in the corners of the bathroom. Restaurant downstairs was very affordable and offered good food. Only one person working the front desk. I had to wait for quite a while when I got there. . . not necessarily the best thing after a 6 hour drive. Checking out was also tedious. Got stuck waiting in line for half an hour while front desk served a couple of teenagers. Didn't even acknowledge me at all, just made me wait there.

« Great Location, Interesting Layout »

Walked from train station, a huge perk and also close to Bell Center. I was upgraded to a really spacious room that had hardwood floors and was immaculately clean. One of the best beds I have ever slept on, great shower, huge closet and multiple hangers. Fit for longer stay. Everything was excellent except the street elevator up and down to the lobby made me nervous. Old and slow and buttons did not light up.

« Decent hotel, good price »

for the price this was a conveniently located hotel in downtown. Rooms were decent, clean and recently renovated. Laminate in rooms was nice. king bed was good. No discomfort, but nothing to write home about. bathroom was clean and renovated shower was big with large glass doors. Toiletries were all provided and replenished the next day

    3
    « Great location »

We were in Montreal for one reason - hockey. We selected this hotel for his proximity to the Bell Center. Upon check in we were upgraded to a King bed. The room was clean and simple. No complaints. The washroom had a nice new walk in shower. For the price we paid I would stay here again.

« Great experience in Montreal »

Stayed one night at the Europa Best Western on Drummond St. Excellent location, close to train station and to Bell Arena (3 minute walk) if you're going for a Habs hockey game. Montreal people stand out for their friendliness and staff at front desk were no exception. Room decor is fresh, bathroom a nice size, internet service, t.v., newspapers, and Cora's right there for breakfast. Reuben's smoked meat just around the corner. Construction across the street, but this did not take anything away from the experience!

    3
    « Too Noisy »

Garbage pick up both nights I stayed at 3:30am & 5:30 am. It happens on a daily basis. Also hotel hasn't any parking. You have to park across the street which is ok but if you are out late you may not have a parking spot. Owner of parking lot sold half which there is construction & the actual parking lot has been cut in half so you're taking a chance coming after 9pm.

    5
    « great location. clean. »

Great location. It was really inexpensive. Was impressed with quality considering the price. Parking is never fun in montreal. this is the only downfall. But it is nearly all hotels in the city's downfall. Staff was very polite. Nice little bar.

    4
    « Quick Visit »

The room was clean, bed was comfortable. very well located. They could have used a couple more outlets for our phone charges. The pillow were a bit stiff for my liking but all in all good hotel. Parking was in the building next door about a 5 minute walk.

« Best Western Europa is Best Hotel! »

This hotel is great! Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable. We enjoy the breakfast and lunch menu at Chez Cora and in the evening, Addies Restaurant offers delicious, home made meals that appeal to everyone. We always stay here when we visit Montreal and are always very satisfied.

    4
    « Good central hotel »

Hotel is very close to major shopping, night life Crescent St) and the Bell Centre. The rooms are on the smaller side but very comfortable and very clean. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgable.

« Excellent Hotel at Great Location in Montreal »

Great hotel, excellent room at great location in Montreal. Most of the shopping and entertainment spots are located in walking distance. Mount Royal is in walking distance. Bus from Airport stops quite near the hotel. Staff were helpful. While outside temperature was subzero warmth inside room was very comforting.

« A great place from which to explore downtown »

Nice rooms, great location. Buy a 24 hour pass for $10 at the airport and catch the 747 bus. Get off on Rene Levesque Blvd. at Stanley, and you are 1/2 block from the hotel. One drawback- no coffee, not even in the lobby. The front entrance is a bit confusing. The reception is friendly though.

    4
    « Above Average Stay »

Stayed here for 3 nights during the model UN college weekend, the hotel was a great value. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance to downtown eateries and shops, which was a key factor as to why I stayed there. The room was clean with the usual amenities except for a micro. The front desk staff were very professional and checking in and out was a breeze. I plan on staying here again the next time I'm in the area.

    3
« Great location, average hotel »

The location is great, you're near the centre at walking distance. The rooms were a bit on the shabby side and could use an upgrade. The greatest asset is actually Chez Cora next to the hotel where you can have a fabulous breakfast with lots of eggs, pancakes and fruit!

    4
    « Pleasantly surprised »

Recently stayed here on a trip to Montreal. Location of hotel was a short walk from the train station, old Montreal and st. Catherine's street. Room was comfortable and reasonably priced for the weekend. We were greeted by a lovely lady at the front desk when we checked in. Would recommend this hotel if you were attending anything at the Bell centre or wanting to be in a good location to downtown.

    « Montreal Business jan 2016 »

This hotel is ideal for being close to downtown, easy to find and provides a good service that is sensibly priced, why pay extra for others that don't give much better in return, it is very clean, the staff are friendly and efficient, good place for a leisure stay and also for business downtown.

    4
    « Very nice & comfortable »

Spent the night on Jan.15. Check in was very fast and I was greated with a smile. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated. This hotel is very well situated, within walking distance to Montreal's well known restaurants and attractions. Addies Bar/Resto next door is accessible without having to go outside and has great food. The hotel pushes outdoor parking across the street at $30/day. But if you drive up Drummond just past St - Catherines on your left, "Superior Parking" offers indoor/heated parking for $24/day.

    « College visit »

We were pleasantly surprised by the Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown Hotel Europa. The rooms were pretty much just exactly what the pictures showed. The flooring is not carpeted, but you knew that. Otherwise the room was well appointed and clean and the bathroom ample sized with a good shower. The nicest surprise was the friendliness of the front desk personnel. My car had a low tire pressure warning light on and the nice gentleman at the desk made a special sign for my car so the local constabulary wouldn't ticket it. He also called CAA , who came and put air in the tires. Perfect. We will definitely stay for future visits.

    « very well pleased »

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel.. The first time was 3 years ago, before the rénovations. We were pleasently surprised . It was a'' Plus'' for us, cause we had already been happy with the proximity to all the shops, restaurants, theaters, all within walking distance. I recommend this hotel to everyone!

    4
    « great value »

130$ for the night, stopped over before Las Vegas. Room was small but the inside was fine, clean, updated amenities that needed a little work, overall comfortable for the one night stay. Wanted to be right downtown and this spot is perfect, next to many restaurants, shopping, theater, highly recommend it.

    « new year »

This is a great hotel, just love this hotel. It's situated near all activities including Bell Center, underground mall, all kinds of restaurants for different tastes. It's just great. Love to go there with friends as well.

    « Impressive »

Happy that I chose this hotel! Conveniently located close to many restaurants and shopping as well as metro. Helpful and friendly staff. Modern room with a extremely comfy bed. Wifi connection and heater noise could be better, but room was quiet and great none the less. Wish we had time to eat at the Cora's, Addie's was nice. Great choice in Montreal.

    2
    « Poor quality hotel »

We stayed here prior to an early flight out of the airport...our room was a few doors down from the reception...check in staff ok, however evening staff rude. We could hear music playing all night long, room was musty and dated, we had to pay extra for one extra person in the room, however had to request extra soap, shampoo and towels..this hotel really misses the mark. Only highlight is the shuttle service to the airport.

    5
    « Very good stay »

Stayed during Christmas holidays (at very good rate discount). Great downtown location, very good customer service, clean room, comfortable bed ( we stayed in one king bed room). We used outdoor parking offered by hotel (opposite side of the street for $30 per night): not cheap (as everywhere in downtown) but it was convenient for us.

    2
« Poor quality for the price »

We stayed 3 nights visiting Montreal during Christmas time and boxing day. We paid a price for a noisy and not that clean room. It is not worth the price paid! I would not recommend it unless the price is much lower.

    4
    « Hotel stay »

I found this hotel to be conveniently located in Downtown Montreal near St. Catherine st and the Bell Center. I used the Y for my workout since the hotel Gym is very small. The YMCA is on the same street and that was cool for morning workouts. My room was very clean and the bed comfy. The tv channels are very poor. No HD channels. Wireless available in rooms but no wired connection.

    4
« More than you spent »

This clean, spacious, quiet, inexpensive and well-located hotel is always my first choice when I go to Montreal. You pay the 2-star price but get the more than 4-star service. I like Montreal because I stay in this hotel.

    5
« Great Service and Front Desk Staff »

The front desk staff were great, they allowed us to check in early, 11:00 even though check-in wasn't until 4:00 and they upgraded us to a king bed. We went to see an NHL game and this hotel was so close to the Bell Center it was the perfect location. The hotel is also very close to St. Catherine's street which has tons of things to do.

« The windows were not sealed good enough »

Have been stayed 5 nights for business in Downtown Montreal. The room was cozy (enough for a business trip). There was whatever I needed for the duration of my trip. A bath tube, hair dryer, coffee maker, fridge, Cable TV with lots of french channels. I added breakfast to my room service which was great deal (Cora. I love it). The down side was that you only have three options: french toast, Cora special and Crepe. Because I can't eat pork, I had difficulty choosing the breakfast. But I strongly suggest Cora. The worst thing about the room was temperature. The window was not sealed properly so it got cold at nights and we I had to increase the temperature of the heating system and because the cold weather is heavier than warm weather (Physics :D) my legs were always cold (even with wearing socks) and my face was hot. the positive side of the hotel was the location. minutes away form the downtown core, museums, art galleries, shops, restaurants etc. Comparing the same room at Sheraton, It is worth staying for business trips than leisure.

    4
« Great place for out of towners to stay after a Habs game »

My brother and our sons stayed at this place mainly because of the location in relation to the train station and Bell Center (to watch our beloved Habs play). BUt inaddition to location, the hotel "front entrance" staff were fantastic - fully bilingual, friendly and completely helpful when asking for parking and directions within downtown Montreal. Cora's restaurant is located within the hotel which is convenient for a nice "get away" breakfast. This will be the first hotel I look for when returning to Montreal for any future hockey games

    5
    « Super amazing stay »

this hotel was great for us because it was so close to the bell centre, great if your attending a game or event there. It was close to all the cool pubs and shopping districts, saq (liquor store), and within 8 minutes of food. The rooms were super clean, staff super nice and the beds were extremely comfortable. Overall amazing stay will stay here every time i come to Montreal.

« Excellent place to stay for Habs Game »

Walking distance from Bell Centre, nice rooms, very clean! Great pre game pizza at Addie's! Service, food and beer was awesome! Cora downstairs from hotel also...you can't ask for a better place with the price they offer! $220 for two nights in queen size room.

    5
« Great hotel and location »

This hotel is great. It's right off st Catherine's street rooms are great they have laminet flooring instead of stinky old carpet like some and there is a Cora's restaurant in the lobby ????. The only issue with this hotel is the parking is with a third party parking company and is a block away but you still pay the hotel and no issues just a small walk.

    4
    « Nice Stay »

Clean hotel with above average service. Close to many attractions, as well as the Underground City! One staff member seemed a little annoyed with my tourist questions, but overall service was very good.

    4
« Convenient comfortable hotel at great price »

I stay here whenever I have reason to be in Montreal. It is a great value and very convenient to downtown Montreal. One small problem is that they have lost the parking across the street making parking a bit less convenient.

    4
    « Hotel Stay »

The hotel has perfect walking distance to the Bell Centre for The Weeknd concert we attended. Also, The service was great for us English speaking guests. I would recommend this hotel to others and I would enjoy another visit there soon.

    3
« Good value, great location, costly parking... »

The hotel room is clean, modern, but a little tight in the bathroom. The queen room comes with a nice layout and even a bar fridge that doesn't hum the whole night away. Centrally located, it is close to everything downtown. If you need a good value place to stay, this is it. Make sure you have a bunch of money for parking - since you need to park across the street. Downtown rates change - I think my weekend overnight rate was $30!

    4
« Good value for money »

This was my first stay at Best Western Europa Montreal. Among the various hotels I had to choose from, the price was very competitive.Had an enjoyable, hassle free stay at the hotel. The room was clean and the internet fast. The staff were professional.

    4
« Great value and location »

The staff were friendly and accommodating. I found the room to be clean and comfortable. The location on Drummand was right in the middle of everything I needed for 1/2 the price of most other area hotels.

    5
« Overnight stay in Montreal »

We live off the island of Montreal and sometimes go into town to celebrate. When we have some sort of celebration, we usually stay in a hotel. This was the first time we used this hotel and was very pleased, however, the rooms are small but very clean. In addition, it is in the centre of the city so really easy to get to the hot spots in the area.

    3
« Good location, bare uninspired room, no breakfast, no free parking »

As our reservation for our original accomodation was cancelled at the last minute, my husband and I needed a place to stay for our last night in Montreal close to the Hertz car rental agency in Drummond street where we had to return our car. We opted for the Best western plus Montreal Downtown, which used to be called hotel Europa. The location is very good, it's close to the Bell centre, close to public transport and walking distance to downtown. You cannot park on Drummond street. At the reception desk of the hotel you can get vouchers for outdoor parking for 20 CAD/night (taxes not included) in a parking lot across the street, or a voucher for indoor parking for 16 CAD/night (taxes not included) in the garage in Stanley street, which is at the back of the hotel block, and which is the same garage where we had to return our rented Hertz car . These voucherprices apply only to standard-size vehicles; bigger cars/mobilhomes have to consult the parking attendants on the lots and negotiate the price. The staff at the reception convinced us to take a King room instead of the standard room. The room was big, but bare and uninspired. There was a writing desk with 1 chair, an armchair, a flatscreen TV, a minifridge, a coffeemaker, and an ice bucket. The bathroom was small in comparison with the bedroom. The king bed was comfortable and we had a quiet night sleep. Breakfast was not included. Wifi was free, but downstairs near the reception there are also a few computers connected with a printer for guests who wish to print out their flighttickets. We had a reasonably good stay here, but we thought the price was a little high considering breakfast was not not included.

  • 5
    « Decent place »

Booked this hotel for a last minute trip to Montreal and was not disappointed. We had 4 rooms in total and it was day and night between room types. One of us booked a "standard queen room" and it's evident why it was cheaper. The rest of us booked king rooms and there was plenty of space.

    5
« Great Location Near Bell Centre »

This hotel is a block and a half north of the Bell Centre, so if you want a clean, cozy place to stay if attending a Habs game, this is made for you. I stayed for one night while attending a recent game and this hotel checked off all the boxes on my list (value, location, amenities). Good choice for downtown Montreal.

    4
    « Great location! »

This hotel is very conveniently located, it's basically on the corner of Drummond and St. Catherine. It's very close to shopping, food and the Bell centre! We chose to walk everywhere, most places we wanted to go to were no more then a 30 minute walk and the weather was great, but the metro system is very easy to use and stations are close by, so you can easily take advantage of that. Our room and bathroom were large, clean and comfortable. all the staff were very friendly and attentive. I also used the gym, there are two treadmills, an elliptical and a recumbent bike, as well as a weight system. The gym is open from 6am to 10pm... There were mornings however that when I went up the lights weren't on, but you just use your room key to enter and the light switch was right by the door so all was good. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, the price is reasonable considering the location, it was clean and the staff were lovely!

    5
« I sure enjoyed the my stay »

Great location, great service and great value, will most definitely stay in it again and will definitely recommend it to friends and family. The location is in the heart of Montreal and a walking distance of many attractions

    5
« Easy to crawl back to..... »

Amzaing location. Was in town for a friends birthday and picked the hotel last minute and was not dissapointed. We were able to bar hop for 2 nights and not get bored, pleanty of variety. We even made it to a habs game right down the street. Staff were friendly and put up with us loosing our keys everytime we left..... Parking was challenging. We used a parking lot across the street and everytime we wanted to use the car it appeared blocked in so we just walked, probably safer that way. Good stay

    5
    « Great location »

Within walking distance of the Bell Centre. For those fans of the Montreal Canadians, this is a must stay to enjoy everything near by including the Ste. Catherine walk/shopping before or after the game.

    4
    « Go Habs Go »

Was a great place to stay for the money!!! Don't like paying for fancy windows and doors, just wanted a place to stay and relax. As long as it's clean I'm happy. We stayed for three nights to watch the Habs hockey games. Staff was really nice and night time was quiet!

    5
« Nice hotel, great location »

Stayed overnight on Halloween to go to Fright Fest at La Ronde. This hotel has a great location right off Ste. Catherine St and steps away from the Metro station. Hotel was pretty much what you'd expect from a Best Western, quiet and clean but nothing fancy. The highlight of my stay was the staff. Guena (I think?) and Eileen were both very helpful and friendly, the former especially welcoming and helpful with directions. Eileen remembered my name each time I saw her which was a nice touch! The room was on the small side but I knew to expect that when booking. Overall a very nice stay.

    4
    « Location location »

Thought we would do a couple of nights in Montreal during restaurant week and found the Europa was perfectly located in the heart of everything just down from Saint Catherine st ,everything was within walking-distance ,shops, restaurants and museums and not to far from the train station . The staff were friendly and helpful ,the room was a good size and the hotel had a decent bar and breakfast restaurant ,the only negative was the Fire Station down the street ,but we were lucky there wasn't much action the nights we stayed.

    5
« Great value - downtown close to Train »

Great hotel located close to many shops - walking distance from Train station. Clean, comfortable. Perfect for overnight when attending a conference nearby. The hotel lobby is basic and you can miss the entrance if you don't pay attention.

« Good location, large bathroom »

We were four in a room with one king bed and one sofa bed. The bathroom was very large for a hotel of this price. Good shower. Great location. A/C was noisey but area was not loud or the hotel. Other friends said their queen rooms were tiny though so YMMV. I was lucky to sleep in the king bed which was comfortable.

    4
    « Great Location »

This location was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Beds were really really comfortable and had a great nights sleep. I liked that the parking was inside and secure. Was very pleased and will come again.

    5
    « Convenient to downtown »

Very comfortable room, walking distance to Centre Bell, Notre Dame Basilica, museums and St Catherine street (for shopping). Staff were professional, courteous and helpful with directions. I would recommend if you are visiting Montreal.

    3
« Central location but average hotel »

The location is very central just a minute from St Catherine. Hotel is average, rooms have a decent size but could be renovated. Rooms were clean. We did not try breakfast. General athmosphere is not very inviting but if you are looking for a clean place downtown the Europa is a OK.

    4
« Excellent location, reasonably priced »

Hotel is centrally located in heart of downtown. Room was single bed queen (small room). While sold as a 'small' room, it's size was Ok and acceptable for solo or couple travel. Rooms are clean - laminate flooring which is much better than carpet. No bells and whistles here but good location, helpful and polite staff, Coras is next door for good breakfast and lunch. Only complaints would be weak wifi signal in the room and noisy when water/ showers were running in room above. You won't go wrong with this choice especially if location is important to you.

    5
« Very surprised with hotel »

I was extremely pleased with the staff, the decor, the cleanliness of the room. It was an overall great experience. The wooden floors in the room were a real surprise and helped the overall appearance. The king bed with sofa room was very spacious.

    4
« Small modest hotel, that delivers all you need for the price! »

2 blocks from Bell center, super location, very clean and efficient hotel. Nothing facny for sure, but very decent. Service was extraordinary. Very sympathic girls that greeted my son and I. They were super nice and made us feel like in a small rural hotel. For the price, this is really hard to beat. We were only staying over night after the Raptors game playing at Bell center.

    4
« Stay at Europa hotel in Montreal »

A 5 minute walk to the Bell Centre, very clean and very inexpensive for being downtown Montreal. We took a taxi to Old Montreal which only cost $12 with tip. Lots to see and do around this hotel location. Will definitely stay at the Hotel Europa for our next stay in Montreal.

    4
« Great place well situated in Montreal »

This Best Western Plus is very centrally located in downtown Montreal and in very close proximity to several good restaurants and the Bell Centre. I flew in from airport and used the city urban transport bus system which took me from the airport to the hotel in approx. 35 minutes and back for only $10.00. The room is a bit small but very clean and beds very comfortable. Another very good Best Western facility.

    4
« You get what you pay for »

We need something basically to drop and sleep then get up shower and go again. Rooms can be on the smaller side but the price is right and you are not far from the Bell Center, Ste, Catherines, Crescent Street, and the Metro. Great price for convenience..

« No Issues With This Hotel »

I was part of a large group staying at this hotel and had no choice but to stay here. I was slightly concerned that it might be a bit sketchy but that wasn't the case at all. The queen bed room with the pull out sofa bed was ample in size. The hardwood floors were nice, the beds were comfortable and the room was sparkling clean. There are a few areas of the hotel that could use a bit of renovating but overall it's a clean and safe spot. I heard very little outside noise from the hallway and slept very well. The bathroom was a decent size and the shower worked great. If you want glitz and glamour this hotel is not for you. If you're happy with a reasonably priced hotel that is clean and well organized that you'll be OK here. I was happy with my two night stay.

« hotel good value for price, but service at the bar below standards »

Hotel was fine for the price paid. Excellent location, close to center and restaurants. check in and out just fine. Service at the bar far below standards. Appeared to be simply ignored while staff was flirting with other guests.

« Our Third Visit to the Europa »

This is our third time staying at the Europa in three years. We love the location. Most tourist sites are within walking distance. If not the metro, bus are easy to use from this location. We always have breakfast at Cora's before we set off exploring. We have found the beds comfortable, linens crisp and, towels plush. The restaurant, Addies, inside the hotel was very reasonably priced and the food was excellent. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. The girls at the front desk took the time to help me with my questions and nothing was too much for them to help. They have recently added new computers for their guests to use. I was having trouble downloading my air flight confirmation. A kind gentleman helped me. I asked if he was their "tech guy" and it turned out he was the hotel manager! Talk about service. It was the airline's fault I could not download my ticket, not the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its value, service and location.

    « Good downtown hotel »

Room was very large and clean. Excellent bar and restaurant and close to the shops, some great restaurants and downtown Montreal. The only issue was the air conditioner which I found extremely noisy but my friends did not have a problem with it as they are used to air conditioning. The view was of a building site but we did not spend a lot of time in the room anyway

« Great boutique hotel downtown »

A great stay at this hotel which was comfortable and accessable. I found the room a little chilly and wiifi access in the rooms sometimes slow No breakfast available , but loads of local restaurants. Rooms are fine

    « Horrible service! »

I had horrible service at this hotel. I booked a queen room through Expedia, which specified that cribs were available. When I checked in and asked for a crib for my 11 month old daughter, I was told a crib would not fit in my room. I told the representative to find me a solution as I required a crib. She told me they were completely sold out. She then went on to look for another room, and without saying anything to me give me the keys to the original room and told me that when I got to the room I could decide whether I thought I could squeeze the crib in or not. I told her that I would not be taking a room that doesn't fit a crib. She then checked with maintenance and somehow was able to find a room [which was extremely small so I can only imagine what my first option was]. When maintenance brought me the "crib" it was an old and filthy pack and play from likely the 80s. I've stayed at hotels with my baby before and crib meant crib. Had I known I could have brought my own pack and play for which I at least have a mattress not the piece of cardboard they expected my daughter to sleep on. That night I asked about the breakfast buffet that was supposed to be included with my room. The rep told me that this hotel has no breakfast buffet. After showing her my confirmation which specified free breakfast buffet I was given vouchers to the restaurant next-door. All in all I can say I will never stay at this hotel again.

    « Convenient hotel »

We stayed here for the Columbus Day (Thanksgiving in Canada) holiday weekend. The hotel is very convenient to everything, including a Metro station. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not included in the price, but there are restaurants attached to the hotel and plenty on St. Catherine St. Parking is extra also. There is a parking lot right across the street. We parked there and walked or took the Metro everywhere, never touched the car. We stayed on the 6th floor and did not hear any noise at all. My only knock on this hotel was the spotty wifi.

« Lovely Room, terrible Front Desk service »

Lovely decorated room, spacious with a comfy sofa and bed but horrible view. Cleaning staff were so kind and helpful. Front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. Hotels are generally used by people from out of town, questions about local attractions, dining and shopping - touristy questions, should be expected and kindly answered. We were there for five nights, only because our room was prepaid otherwise we would have left and tried another hotel after the first night.

« Stay away from this hotel »

I won't come back to this hotel. My room had a window through which I could only see a wall and some pipes. Apparently they have many rooms like that, but they never asked me if I was fine with such a place. I asked for a different room, but the others they had were even worse (one had the toilet right next to the wall, with no space in between). Also, the room always had a weird (bad) smell and the sink was clogged. Once I saw some black dots in the towels, which were probably mold. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay away from this hotel!

    « Lacking essentials »

My girlfriend and I were visiting Montreal from 30 Sept to 3 Oct and decided to stay at this hotel. Initial greeting was great but after that everything was sub par. We were sent to a room on the 2nd floor, opened the door and found a room a little bigger than a broom closet. Because of the way the hotel is set up the window provided us with a view of another wall of the hotel. She wasn't happy so I went to the front desk to see about getting a different room. They gave us one on the 5th floor, but was only accessible by staircase. Upon checking it out we decided to stay there as it appeared nicer, at first glance. I went back to get 2 room cards and then back to the room on the 2nd floor where my girlfriend and our luggage was. She was happy to hear we would be moving. Arriving at the room on the 5th, we discovered no tub, no extra mirrors (only the one over the sink) and a smoke detector hanging off the ceiling by its wires. The plus about this room and its location is there are only 3 rooms on that floor, kinda odd but nice. We stayed due to being a points card holder and the location but otherwise we probably won't again. Hotel only has a fitness center. No sauna. No pool. No whirlpool. Pretty basic. Hotel was close to everything including Metro stations and bus. Old Montreal is a 30 minute walk away or 2 metro stops. It's a beautiful city which we plan on visiting again due to girlfriend having family there so there is so much more to see. Cheers.

We have stayed many times with Best Western hotels over the years and have always been very satisfied with the service that we have received. This experience was OK but not great for the price that we paid. The room was small - not what we usually experience at Best Western.
