« Excellent location for anyone arriving / departing by train »

Note we were only in the main hotel building to check in and to check out! We stayed 3 nights in one of the two suites with private hot tub. They, and another 2 (?) rooms are in a building across the road. I would wholeheartedly recommend these suites if you stand any chance of making use of their facilities. The 2 person hot tub is located in an outdoor private patio area with a table and 4 chairs and is accessed via doors from the bedroom. The hot tub is covered and sufficiently private to use naked if you wished. The bedroom contains a mini kitchen with a full size fridge, 2 ring hob, microwave and coffee machine. For lunch 2 days we bought salad stuff, beer, wine from one of the local supermarkets which we ate on the patio and then finnished off the wine whilst sitting in the hot tub. Very decadent, very enjoyable and an absolute bargain meal ! As several others have said the location is perfect for the railway station. This is also a main interchange of the tramway system. The old town area for all the tourist sights and restauurants is a 5 min walk away (to comedy square).

« Near to Montpelier St Roch Train Station, Clean, Modern with friendly staff »

I needed a hotel near to the train station so I didn't have far to walk with luggage. This ticked the box, good location in that respect. However area did feel a little rough but I had no problems. Hotel itself, very clean, good sized double room, good air con, modern facilities, comp tea coffee water etc., breakfast buffet very good selection from 7am to 10.30am. Luggage storage offered on day of check in and check out. Staff really very helpful. Only reason I am rating average and not very good is the location in terms of being a bit rough (but this is kind of unavoidable near a railway and does not reflect on the hotel itself at all) and lack of dining facilities in the evening. Coffee also at breakfast was not fresh but through a machine which was a bit bland. But overall had a good night's sleep, breakfast very good, so would recommend and would use again.

« But what about Brexit? »

The hotel has organized the floors by European countries or states in the EU. I was on the fifth floor which was called Great Britain. So, I always felt that I didn't belong. (joking) the Eurociel is a modern hotel with clean, well organized rooms, a better than your average coffee maker, and the breakfast is fine (not great). The location is not bad, not right in the center but only a short walk from many of the sights and cafes, bars, and restaurants. I definitely enjoyed my stay.

    « A three day break »

The Eurociel is situated right in the centre of Montpellier. Staff were great. Hotel was situated about a 5 minute walk from the Place de la Comdie, where there are some lovely bars and restaurants. Rooms were very well presented and clean. We didn't take breakfast but it was available at around 10 euros. I would stay again. Thanks to all staff

    « good location »

A 5 minute walk to both train station and the city center. Easy check in,a lovely comfortable and clean room with nice balcony and good wi-fi and with a great walk in shower. Also good air con and free bottle of water which was needed on very hot day. Would highly recommend both the hotel and Montpellier itself

« Nice location and fresh room »

Hotel is nicely located along the tramway you take to get into Montpellier. Get off the train last station before the train station, you will see the hotel from the tramstation. Checked in by friendly and helpful staff and got a not too big room but nice and fresh standard. Love a walk in shower with a big shower head. A few minutes walk and you are in the city center of Montpellier , placa de comedy. So a nice standard hotel, with smooth logistics to reach the hotel and be centrally located.

    « Good short stay »

We booked as it had good ratings and we needed a one night stay from the airport to get to the train station the next day. Very clean, modern rooms. Friends had a standard room in the main building. Very small, but clean and comfortable. We took the loft apartment across the road as we had two kids and that was quirky, clean, comfortable and well equipped. A short stay is ideal. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Good value for money would recommend. Don't let the run down nature of the immediate few surrounding blocks put you off.

    « Perfect bed...good night sleep »

Hotel Eurociel is in easy walking distance from the train station but this is not the main feature for this lovely hotel. Hotels in general should have one goal in mind. People will have a good night sleep. This is an attainable goal. The hotel Eurociel has it. Room Layout: perfect Bathroom: perfect Safe and minibar position: perfect Noise control: Perfect Air Con and positioning of air con: perfect Beds: Magnificient (and frankly this is the only points that matters!) Staff: Happy Guests: Happy too So why did I rate the hotel as very good instead of excellent? The breakfast let them down a little. The milk was not stored properly and the pancakes disappeared at 10am and never came back... I love this hotel because you are ensured to have a good night sleep. The staff is not intrusive and have a good sense of humour.

« Great hotel, lovely people, good location »

I wanted a hotel within easy walking distance of the train station and Place de la Comedie and this was a great choice. It's a new looking building and very clean and tidy. Got a warm welcome from reception, who pointed us in the direction of our room. I'd booked one of their suites with a terrace and outdoor jacuzzi - these rooms are located in a separate building across the road. This wasn't a problem at all as it was a lovely old building with high ceilings that has recently been refurbished, and also very quiet. There was a small kitchen area with fridge and microwave, which was handy. The sitting area was quite small, but the main feature was the lovely terrace. Nice and spacious, with the jetted bathtub at the far end under a gazebo. The supplement for this room wasn't that much and defintiely worth it. A good choice for Montpellier, especially at the price.

« Great value, near the train tracks »

This is an easy walk from the train station and the room rates are very reasonable. We stayed in one of the apartments across the street, the loft, and it was incredibly spacious, much bigger than we needed. A few minor drawbacks are the train noise throughout the night. There are likely rooms within the hotel building that you could request that are away from the tracks. The area around the hotel and the tracks seemed slightly sketchy at night. It was probably fine but I was on more alert than normal as the lighting isn't great around the area. Also, not a big deal as they stored our bags, but our room was not available at the stated check-in time. Super easy walk into the historical area of town.

    « Short Stay »

Spent 3 nights here. Welcoming and informative receptionist. Centrally located. Stayed on 6th Floor. decent size room with all the amenities required. No external noise. Comfortable bed. Breakfast ok, cost 10 euro each. Car park for about 10/12 cars cost 10 euro per night. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Great location »

Easy to find , close to the centre of Montpellier . Reasonable value . Staff helpful and friendly - secure parking on site a bonus for us as we were driving through to Spain . Didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on the food

« friendly VFM hotel v close to train station »

I stayed here for several nights whilst on a solo working in the city. Location is great if you're coming in via train, as its a 5 min walk. Signage out of the station isn't as clear as it could be, as you are faced with a confusing choice of routes at different levels, some of which you don't find are blocked off until you've already walked down them! So do double-check your route in high-zoom on the map beforehand! Also bear in mind that the hotel is on the opposite side of a monstrous 1960s shopping-anchored development which is extremely difficult & confusing to navigate through to get to the main city centre & historic quarter - so if that's where you want to spend your time there are probably better options. I arrived late in the evening from the train station and got stuck at check-in behind some guests who occupied the single receptionist with lots of very lengthy questions, but to be fair she checked me in at the first opportunity she had. Every other interaction I had with the reception staff was friendly & efficient. The room was very small and had a slightly odd layout, with the shower directly off the main room, the loo in a separate cubicle next to the room door and the handbasin in the main room opposite the bed (I've not stayed in a hotel that had that since the 1980s!). That said, the shower was spacious, good quality and hot lots of hot water. The room was generally well appointed, with a good mini-fridge and excellent coffee & tea-making facilities. It was also really clean, although on my last day the room had developed a slight drain smell (although it had been very hot for several days and isn't that unusual phenomenon in European hotels). My main disappointment was having asked for a quiet room on booking (as I'm a light sleeper) to find my room directly overlooked a really busy double-decker railway line (tram on top, freight & TGVs underneath). The vibration really shook the room and it was v noisy even with 2 layers of double-glazed windows up to about midnight and again from around 4am, so I didn't sleep well at all. Unfortunately the hotel was completely full so they weren't able to change my room :( Which is a shame as the bed was actually very comfortable. Breakfast was just about passable. There was a reasonable choice, but it was all pre-made which was a real disappointment as I was really looking forward to local French bread, croissants, etc. If I stayed here again I wouldn't buy the breakfast, and instead would eat out locally. The patio on the 3rd floor is nice, if not the most relaxing given the noise from the trams & trains! Would I stay here again? I wouldn't rule it out but it depends: if I needed to be near the station I might, but otherwise I think I'd look around at other options.

« Attention to the chosen apartment and no correct info about it! »

Attention! Some rooms (apartments) situated on the other side of the building; there are 3 floors and no lift till the end (loft or whatever). They are not informing in advance, there is no specification on booking.com. If you have heavy suite cases and small kids you can't use it. The staff are not so friendly and ready to understand the situation and make necessary adjustments. We were lucky to change the apartment due to the fact that the owner was presented at that moment (!). Otherwise clean, cosy and modern hotel near the railway station (don't need taxi). We stay here every time when travel to the South. Location is very close to all restaurants, bars and shopping area.

    « Good value »

Easy walk from the station beside the elevated tramline then down a ramp and along a side street (avoid the circular stairs with suitcases!). Pleasant, helpful reception staff. Our room was on the third floor, overlooking the quiet street in front of the hotel. We made use of the lovely terrace on this floor to relax with a drink or snack. The room was spacious and very clean. We often choose BW because of the tea/coffee making facilities in the room - a rarity in Europe. We had the hotel breakfast buffet one morning - good price, reasonable range of food. WiFi was fast and reliable. Overall, a very good experience

« Great staff, very central, clean and well maintained....... »

We arrived in the early hours and the staff member on duty (30/06/16) was very helpful and welcoming.......the next morning the female member of staff on reception again was very helpful and was interested in how our stay had went. The rooms are well designed, big shower, clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the room felt spacious. Parking faculties were perfect, secure and flexible, allowed us to stay parked whilst we explored having checked out already. Would highly recommend.

« we keep going back »

This is our third stay at this hotel and it was a good as the last two .Walking distance of bars and resturants the hotel has clean, comfortable rooms, the staff are always welcoming. The buffet breakfast has a good choice. Looking forward to our next visit

    « We'd Return to the Eurociel »

The Best Western Eurociel is a friendly hotel. The front desk staff was excellent--very helpful and kind. The location is great--a short walk right to the center of town. The hotel has secure parking, so you can leave your car without worry. Our room was bright and clean. I liked the design of the bathroom, with a separate toilet compartment and a large, walk-in shower stall. The only problem we experienced was that half the TV channels would not come in--including the only ones in English. Breakfast was fine--plenty of choices and helpful staff. We would stay here again.

    « BEST WESTERN EUROCIEL - MONTPELLIER »

Close to the Train Station, Simple and nice. Perfect for a couple of days. Clean and very kind people of the Reception Desk. Not expensive. I will comeback, anyway. You can go walking to downtown y visit the most important places of Montpellier. It is not far.

« Friendly and very well located »

This hotel is pretty typical of European hotels. The rooms are fairly small, but adequate. Breakfast was excellent and included sausage and scrambled eggs, and a good range of very good pastries; and there was cold meats for the more northern inclined. The staff are great; friendly and caring. Nothing was too much trouble, though we don't ask for much - just a cold beer to sip in the sun. The railway station is close by and it is only a short walk to the center of the town. Plenty of reasonable restaurants close by, we particularly enjoyed the food at Namaste, a small Indian restaurant.

    « Perfect Location »

We stayed at the Best Western Eurociel for 1 week in May 2016. This hotel is in the perfect location! Visible from the train station and a short 5 minute walk to the Comedie, 10 minutes to the Corum and right next to the metro tracks. Plus, the breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. We'd highly recommend this hotel for anyone spending time in Montpellier or using it as a "launching pad" to visit neighboring cities. We visited Carcassonne and Avignon easily thanks to the robust rail system in France.

    « A Cozy Room! »

This hotel is a good option for a stay in Montpellier--especially if traveling by train. The location near the rail station is handy. The staff members are very pleasant. The room was well-designed with everything we needed for our 4 night stay. We appreciated the comfortable bed, coffee machine in the room, windows for abundant sunlight, free Wi-Fi and the cleanliness of the room. It's can be a bit of a walk to restaurants but that shouldn't be a deterrent. The staff members made good recommendations for dining. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

    « Fabulous suite »

If I were to own a studio apartment I would model it like these suites. Loved the upstairs bedroom. Beautifully designed apartment suite. Modern furnishings, fantastic shower and bathroom, comfortable beds, cute little kitchen. WIFI was down in our room when we first arrived but it was fixed so fast. The staff were great. My only complaint would be the cheap towels, a big fluffy white towel would have been the cherry on top. Great location. Would not hesitate to stay again.

    5
    « Good hotel »

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. It offers good basic accomodations. The rooms are clean and the front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. It is well situated close to Place de la Comédie and the SNCF train station. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

« Clean, pleasant staff, recent renovation. »

Renovated in 2012. Room was clean and adequate size. Location is good. Within 7 minutes of city center. Staff is helpful and very pleasant. All items in the buffet breakfast were fresh. Parking available at extra cost. Call in for reservation, received complementary breakfast and better pricing.

    « Perfectly situated »

Close to station, tramlines and place de la comedie. All staff were most pleasant, helpful and spoke excellent English. I thought it was newer than its four years old. Nice terrace and lounge area. Booked again for Tour de France stage in July.

« Beautiful and functional suites »

Quality, service, and attention to detail make staying in the beautiful Eurociel suites a pleasure. Excellent location, comfortable beds, and helpful staff. Would also be lovely for a romantic getaway. Will definitely return to Montpellier and to Eurociel!

« Great apartment in a hotel close to station »

The location of the hotel was practical: waking distance to the pedestrian centre and train and tram stations nearby. We were lucky to stay in a family apartment placed in the annex of the hotel. 2 bedroom apartment Suede was very spacious and newly renovated, well-equipped and functional: kitchen, laundry machine, big bathroom. Kids loved it and wanted to return! Although most french houses have some mold, the smell of mold in the toilette was quite extreme. The location of the hotel just next to station and tram line #1 is very practical, but the downside is the constant noise of the trail traffic. Free wifi was very cumbersome to use, requiring many phone calls to get the right password. The breakfast served in the hotel had excellent choice: good juice, eggs, cheese and bacon and local pastry among other things. View of the window was interesting: some trees, some city life, some roofs and the sky.

    5
    « comfy hotel »

The hotel is very comfy, cute, good bed, very clean room, a little bit thin pillow . They have tea/coffee machine in the room, good heating control soundproof windows, very close to train station , a 5 min walk to the central square, safe at evening

    4
« Good location and clean hotel »

Location is very convenient. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Everything seems in good condition. Staff were friendly enough. Would certainly consider staying here again in the future. Overall decent stay.

« Very good value for money »

Booked a room here for one night on basis of previous reviews & wasn't disappointed. The hotel is close to the station but slightly away from centre of town so quite quiet (did hear train early am but did sleep with patio doors open). The staff were friendly & very helpful & spoke good English which was great as unfortunately my French is minimal unfortunately. The room was fantastic with it's own enclosed terrace next to the common one (Cologne room on the German floor) & a good mini-bar, bathroom was very good as well. Buffet breakfast was good. No complaints, really enjoyed my stay & will definitely return.

« Lovely hotel in good location »

We were delighted with this hotel which is very close to the station and a short walk to the centre of the city. The hotel is modern and very clean. Our room was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom excellent with a very spacious shower. We had a separate toilet which was good. We faced the adjacent railway line and tram stop but the double glazed windows kept out the noise. The weather was quite hot and we found the air-conditioning rather cold for the person sleeping near the vent, so we slept for some of the time with the window open. We found that noise was not a problem during the night except for the occasional noise of people talking loudly at the tram stop. This was a minor issue and did not detract from our overall excellent impression of the hotel. Breakfast was 10.50 Euros for a good buffet and worth the cost. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is not particularly nice, but the Moroccan restaurant across the road is good and there is a very nice but not too expensive French restaurant L'Atelier Gourmand a couple of blocks away. We bought a family day pass for public transport for 6 euros and used the excellent trams, getting off at the stop right behind the hotel. The hotel is excellent value. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Montpellier layover »

Hotel is new, clean with helpful staff and convenient location. Would recommend highly. Secure parking for a fee. Two blocks to Place Comedie. Excellent value. Decent breakfast. Free wifi. cons: small room and adjacent to elevated train tracks.

    5
    « Great small hotel »

Stayed for 2 nights in hotel Eurociel in central Montpellier. The location is very close to the city centre and train station - a big bonus. You can't hear the trains and we were on the rail side. The rooms are small but well appointed, clean and comfortable.

    5
« Good location and friendly helpful reception staff »

Was pleasantly surprised that I was able to park my car at the hotel (12 euros per night) behind a locked gate and close to the hotel entrance doorway. Both of the reception staff (Guillaume and the older gentleman) were very friendly and helpful and Guiilaume's excellent knowledge of English was such that I stopped using my French when speaking to him. The room was clean and smart with a good sized bathroom with toiletries and hair dryer. The towels were a little thin and not large but okay. A mini-bar with free bottle of water plus free expresso coffee machine were available. The beds were comfortable with a duvet covering. An easy to use safe was in the room and the television had French and foreign satellite channels. Wifi existed but probably it was my fault but I never managed to connect to it. Our room was at the front and with a pleasant view overlooking the old tiled roofs. Breakfast had a good range although the cooked food (bacon, sausage, scrambled egg) looked a little unappetising after staying for a long time under the buffet covers. The Hotel Eurociel is 5 minutes walk from the railway station and 10 minutes from the old area - all of which is easily accessible on foot to any normally mobile person, whilst a good tramway system exists, with more rails being laid for an extension. Montpellier was far more interesting than my wife and I expected with both the old town and the unexpectedly pleasant modern Antigone development (shops, offices etc) near to the hotel. Will definitely hope to stay again in this hotel.

    « Beautiful hotel »

We visited this lovely hotel in July. It has been a beautiful experience. Each room has a theme inspired by different cities, which makes the place magic. Very nice and helpful staff. The location is perfect to visit the city and around it. I strongly recommend it.

    4
    « Very pleasent stay »

Stayed two nights during the Eurobasket 2015. As in previous reviews noted the staff is very friendly and attentive, the hotel is modern, clean and well situated, a short walk from St. Roch (main) railway station and the centre of the city ( Place de la Comédie and old town). The only remark of the room is of the sliding door between the room and the bathroom. When you have a sliding door you should have a rail (a bar) also in the floor. When you don't have it, the door slides poorly on the carpet and is heavy to handle! The breakfast is ordinary, nothing extra, but good. Previously somebody rated the area around the hotel as run-down. Okey, it's an older part of the city and it looks like the older parts of the cites in Southern France ( and Southern parts of Europe) look like. We didn't feel the area to be in anyway dangerous.

    4
    « Very Nice staying »

I really liked how nice the workers are and how great the services they are offering are..a little bit expensive but I think it just a common thing in here to have hotels for such prices ..the room is so clean and very well organized..they let me in before the check in time because I have just arrived from a long trip..I really appreciate their work and absolutely recommend it...still, it is very close to downtown and to the train station as well as it surrounded by a lot of restaurants of all ranges and specialities..??

« the best at the right price »

well located, nice, comfortable , with great idea like espresso machine in the room good service and great decoration The hotel is clean and the breakfast is for any type of clients...... I strongly advised it to my friends

    4
« Hotel mediocre, Location both a plus and minus. Staff excellent. »

Although seemingly recently modernised, the attention to detail was not what should expect from a hotel under the Best Western umbrella, although I understand that this is a privately owned hotel. Curtain hanging down from rail, no hair drier, although my wife was able to borrow one from reception. Faulty door lock. Equally we were unable to control the air-con. as this was under the control of staff on reception, so we found the room to be too warm. The television volume too was out of our control, I guess in respect to neighbouring guests. The location had both pros and cons; pro, only a stones throw from the historic centre. Con; in a rather run-down area. A mention must go to the staff who were excellent (Alexandra) Would I stay here again, probably not.

« Spacious apartment centrally located »

Our apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped. Bed firm and comfortable. Centrally located near the historical centre and the train station. Staff helpful and friendly. Top quality breakfast which is well worth the money. Would highly recommend this hotel.

« Great hotel, staff, and service »

We stayed at Hotel Eurociel for one week while attending a conference. It is within easy walking distance to Montpellier's central attractions. Rooms are very comfortable, clean, and quiet, with all facilities for a long or short stay. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly, adding to the great experience. Very highly recommended!

« Ideal hotel to visit Montpellier »

The hotel was a little difficult to find, but we had an efficient and pleasant reception and quick check in. I had called ahead to check if a car parking space was booked and this was efficiently confirmed. They also were aware of my Platinum Reward status. Breakfast selection was good. It was a great location to see all the sights of the city and do some shopping.

hotel eurociel in montpellier is very well located near touring areas but far from the noise. the room small and well planned the hotel is modest but very comfortable tasty breakfast and handy parking lot eccellent value.

« Great place to stay, near all ammenities »

Although the price is not cheap, the value is good! near all attractions and really easy to get from the Airport on public transport. it is literally 20 mins away! The rooms are super clean and comfortable. The rooms are small, but for a business trip is ok. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I would definitively stay there again.
